This small hotel is located centrally in Lyon, with quick access to public transportation, as well as shops and restaurants, making it a great choice for a weekend trip to Lyon. The rooms were nice, the staff exceptional, add to that a great breakfast, and you've got the makings of a great trip. The staff all communicated comfortably in English. This was a quiet hotel, so we had no trouble sleeping, and the location meant that anywhere we wanted to go was either within walking distance, or a mere 10-15 minutes away by public transportation. This was excellent value for the price, highly recommended.
Renovated rooms. Friendly staff. Clean. Location for city stroll good enough. (15-20‘ walk to the big square in the center). Good value for the price. Don‘t expect a shiny hotel, you are not paying the price for it… we liked it. We recommend the premium rooms. One level up from comfort rooms. Very cool: just next to the hotel is a grocery store open from 0830 to 2100h.
We booked two rooms for ourselves and our teenagers. The first night I barely slept because it was so hot. That was with the so-called AC turned on high. The second night we asked for fans which did help. They do not provide conditioner. And they only provide two full sized towels. Both of these things are an issue when one of the guests is a woman with long hair and you don't want to force your husband to use a wet towel. The rooms were dated and cramped. We did not do the breakfast because it was 18 euros a person and we thought it would not be worth it. We took a peek one morning and we were right. The location was good and you could easily access everything. There was a grocery store next door which was super handy. Any staff member we encountered was absolutely lovely and helpful. Overall just an ok experience.
I booked a Premium room, advertised as recently renovated. It didn't feel like that. It had stains on walls and some mould in the shower's lower corners. Also it was a ground floor facing the street. It felt awkward to watch pedestrians and cars passing by a few meters away. Asked for a room change and was told none was available since in all upper floors AC/heating did not work.
A great hotel to stay in as it is in a very quiet area of Lyon. You need to walk about 15 minutes to take you into the shopping area and restaurants too. As a solo traveller it had everything I needed. A good breakfast to be had too. There is no restaurant for an evening meal but there are lots of them within walking distance too. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet area to stay in.
Great hotel with fantastic staff. Front staff Tung was very friendly and helpful. We ran out of some toiletries and she brought it up to us. Got 2 twin premium rooms. I had the one on the 1st floor, very private as there's another door before our room door, but no stairs, but that's ok for me. My elderly family stayed in ground floor room, also very nice. Both rooms were quiet and of good size even with our medium size suitcases opened. One small bottle of water is provided per stay, not per night. Location is walking distance to the famous food hall and a mall, the old town was a little farther walk away but still do-able as you can enjoy the bridge view along the way. Breakfast is buffet or express (cheaper). My friend had the buffet, but I just walk over to the food hall for some fresh pastry and coffee. There are many nice Michelin recommended restaurants a short walk away that's not crazily expensive like Table 101, PY, and Saku.
Lyon is not my favourite city in France and I was there just for getting a good sleep and without any ambitions of visiting the city. If you like a nice hotel not far away from Port Dieu, this is a good choice.
The hotel is nice as well as the rooms are. Location is very convenient as well in the heart of the city close to main station “ la part Dieu” we did not experience the breakfast we thought the rates were really too high (16€/pers)
The ambience, the reception when arriving were all perfect. Thanks to Basma, for her energetic effort in ensuring we settled well for the festival of lights.I would definitely visit again the hotel. The room was very clean, and so was the washroom area.
I booked into thie Hotel as my first option was not available. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from Lyon Part Dieu railway station and its easy to find. Checkin was ok after they understood my booking request and i was shown to the room which was nice. My room was very clean and looked recently decorated and was well equipped. Next to the Hotel is a supermaket which is handy for getting a bottle of wine at French prices. I had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was from 06:30 so i was dispappointed that at 07:00 the lady was still setting it up and as i was tight for time i had to make do with what was on offer, if the breakfast had been set up and everything on offer i would have given full marks.
Decent hotel good location- possible to park on the street just outside. The room was a bit small when having lot of luggage, but fairly stylish and had the conveniences needed. Supermarket on the corner close to the hotel.
Super!!! It's very nice !!!!!!!!! The best Hotel my boyfriend and I stayed, we had a great time all very kind thanks a lot, i am super happy to have found this hotel so welcoming, we will definitely be back
The only reason not to give 5 stars is that the room is a bit outdated. Other than that it was a perfect stay! Nice location (walking distance from subway, nice but somewhat longer walk to the center), quiet (if you have a room on the courtyard), clean, friendly staff. One remark if you take the parking: it might be a challenge to get in and out of your spot if you drive a larger car.
The reception staff at this hotel were really lovely - friendly, helpful and provide great tips on what to see in the city. The lady with the long, dark hair and glasses was especially good. The rooms were fine but it's difficult to stay here if travelling alone as there is no "Do not disturb" sign for the door (however after a "getting out of the shower" near miss with the cleaner the first day, I asked for my room not to be cleaned too early at reception and it was fine thereafter). There is some traffic noise and the inevitable noise from people going to and from room but other than that the location is good although a little away from the centre (20 min walk) but there is nearby bus and tram and a daily travelcard is only 6 euro.
This was my third time at the Best Western Crequi Lyon Part Dieu hotel, The service was very good, the staff was very friendly and helpfull. The rooms were very clean, i would certainly recommend this hotel.
Very nice hotel with walking distance to city center and old town. Very friendly and helpful people working at the hotel. Big and comfortable rooms and also a small fitness room for those who want. Nice place to stay when visiting Lyon.
The room was pleasantly decorated. The staff was amazing! I don't remember their names but they did speak English. They were so helpful to us-giving us maps and explaining metro sites. The location was perfect! We walked to the mecca of dining across the river, Fresh baguette every morning (not Paul-the other pastry shop). We purchased a Lyon City card which gave us free entrance to all museums and metro, trams and buses. The metro is easy-maps at entry points!
We had a wonderful visit to Lyon and to the Best Western Crequi Lyon. The staff was extremely nice and went out of their way to help whenever we needed. The location is in a business area so it's quiet on the weekend but not too far from the river area which is happening!
We left a best western in Paris where things went well. Arrived in Lyon during World Cup finals told our reservation had been cancelled three days before because our card was invalid. Card worked just fine in Paris. Our reservations were made in October 2018 for July 2019. We had to sit and wait for over an hour for them to find us a room. We had booked a suite. They ‘found' a very small room. When we got there the lock on the front door didn't work. Supposedly it will be fixed sometime tomorrow. In the meantime we need to take our luggage to the front desk whenever we leave tonight for dinner and when we go to the soccer game tomorrow. Plus hope no one comes in while we are sleeping tonight. The door keeps blowing open. Wonder what will happen while we are gone! We have been here less than 24 hours and it has been hell. If you are looking to book this hotel don't!!!!! Get a room anywhere else!!!
Good hotel, WiFi kept disconnecting and the air con didn't work, we only stayed for one night so wasn't too fussed. Parked our car at there underground car park which we were pleased as it was secure however we wouldn't recommend it if you have a 4x4 or large car, we struggled to get out as it was very tight.
Nice basic hotel. Friendly staff. Clean room and facilities. Breakfast included and was very nice. Would recommend for a few days. As with the three hotels during our stay, fairly small room we were in.
A great weekend treat at Lyon. Walking in the old town and bridges, visiting the churches amazing structure. Evening everyone alive even its freezing. Good taste of food and delicious desserts and chocolates all over
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel; it was everything we expected from a Best Western. The room and public spaces looked clean and well-maintained; staff always polite and friendly - we had no complaints whatsoever. It was also well situated for sight-seeing with bus and tram routes close by if required. We found it enjoyable to walk into the main town located between the rivers. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and a large supermarket.
I was there for 5 nights. The room is not so spacious but everything is here.. the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is classic French breakfast and the staff is very pretty. Just one thing: I was there at beginning of October 2018 and the weather was hot.. but no possibility to start the air conditioning
I arrived around 11 PM from a 6 hour train ride so needless to say I was looking forward to rest. The hotel is very old and in bad shape. The rooms are very noisy and not soundproofed and most of all ridiculously small. The TV in my room was not working so I had to change rooms. Too expensive for the value.
Nice clean hotel. Helpful staff. Good size room , unfortunately not sound proof. Confortable bed. Bar fridge with one complementary water bottle. Small safe ( laptop won't fit), complementary coffee, tea, herbal tea. Air conditioning is operational only in warm season. Window ( no screen) can open. Didn't try the restaurant or bar. Near Gare de Part Dieu , les Halles de Paul Bocuse , 15 minutes walk to Presqu'ile ( downtown) and 30 minutes walk to convention center.
Dear Traveller, Would like to highly recommend a very comfortable centrally located hotel offering excellent bedding, good showers and excellent service. Would like to suggest this Best Western for all your future stays either for business or pleasure. Best regards,Anonymous.
I would not rate this 4 star. The room is compact but with enough room to walk around. I have been in smaller French hotel rooms. The bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was not done on the first day and I asked for the plug in the basin and shower to be fixed but neither was done. The wash hand basin did not retain the water and the shower basin almost overflowed. Breakfast was average and the hot water for tea never seemed to have been boiled, always only warm. There isn't a bar despite a sign indicating one. They will get drink for you. It is in a good location with tramline and railway station close by. The reception staff were friendly and willing to assist.
We had reservations to stay at the Mercure about 75m away, but stayed at Best Western Crequi the first night because Mercure was not available the first night. The short is that we cancelled the Mercure and stayed at Best Western for half the price for an additional 4 days. We are not normally needy travelers, but this was a big exception and everyone at Best Western were extremely polite, kind and helpful. We needed help with train reservations, bus schedule, printing tickets, directions, recommendations, and more. In our opinion, this 3 star turned into a 5 star experience. Our room was extremely quiet, clean and comfortable - rather simple, not extravagant. We only had breakfast at the restaurant, but it was good. A few meters away on the same block is a very nice grocery store with everything you might need. Highly recommended. We would choose this place first next trip
Very clean pleasant hotel, room a little small though, but bed was extremely comfortable. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Found the lift to be extremely small if you had suitcases. Overall comfortable stay
Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights whilst visiting my daughter, it was our first trip to Lyon. The hotel was modern, bright and clean. Staff friendly and professional. Great location for our needs short walk to shopping centre and river. Needed an iron which was available on request with a board. Would recommend this hotel.
A short stroll from the center of Lyon. Customer service second to none at reception and restaurant .Nice rooms with a safe and a stocked fridge. Nice and quiet at night so good for a sleep. Good price compared to other local Hotels.
We had room 107, overlooking the street but thanks to double glazing it was ok. On the other hand the noise inside was quite bad.we could hear everything that was going on in the room next to ours. The room itself was quite clean (apart from bathroom door...) The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a buffet but the hotel was quiet, so scrambled eggs so overcooked they were dry, slices of bacon fused together. No fruit salad, just some fruit in a bowl. Bread was ok but it was defrosted and not fresh. Overall, I guess it's better to have breakfast somewhere else! However, hotel location was great for us, with shopping centre quite near, city life within walking distance, and restaurants everywhere around. They provide parking but access is very narrow and underground so don't expect to park a Range Rover easily!
Located very close to Part-Dieu train station, thus very convenient when travelling to and from the airport. Close to Rhone and Place Bellecour as well as Part-Dieu shopping-center and Les Halles, the famous food-market. Comfortable, pleasant rooms that get cleaned daily. Breakfast-buffet with a wide choice of sweet and salty tasty bites
good location not far from the train station (but farther than it looks on a map: no throughway through the huge Mall, you have to go around it). A quiet place, friendly staff; the restaurant is rustic, but food is fine (beef tartare excellent). Small room, not a place for staying 2 weeks... Good bed, nicely done bathroom.
We asked for a twin room, were given a double. The window wouldn't close (it's -2 outside at night), the shower leaked and didn't regulate the temperature (lovely feeling a nice cold one while next door flushes), not exactly what I expected for what we paid and the * rating of the hotel.
I could say:" it's nothing special. Just good hotel" It's true! But: - perfect position - very close to the station, you can catch the train to go to the airport and just 10 minutes from the center by feet; - friendly and helpful stuff ( especially the girl, who works till 2 pm ) - very clean room ( always! ) Does not matter, what time you leave the room, be sure, when you will be back, everything will be perfect:) Some uncomfortable things: - don't think to eat/ drink to restaurant of hotel after 10.30 pm. They don't serve you " so late " - my ( internal ) room was really cold and humid
Well located - we visited in July - it was highly priced at that time of the year. Not good value for the money we paid. the breakfast was nice though, its a reasonable accommodation at a 5 star price.
Hotel very comfortable. Receptionist very helpful. Our room was compact but very moden. It had everything you could need. Receptionist directed us to areas to eat. We found a nice restaurant, which was very busy, always a good sign. Would stay again definitely. Supermarket on the same block as hotel. Very handy.
We were made very welcome by the friendly staff for our 2 night break . Fortunately we had reserved a car park space as there aren't many for the size of hotel . Also be aware that entry/ exit of car park is a bit tight ! Hotel is well situated for exploring Lyon but not many restaurants in the near vicinity - the restaurant in hotel lacks atmosphere : more a cafe than restaurant , ideally suited for breakfast . Main bug bear was the wi fi which kept dropping out and / or self changing to best western rather than BW Crequi . Often even re-setting to BW Crequi didn't access the log in page . VERY frustrating and staff seemed unable to resolve . One final note the standard rooms are on the small side but this is mainly because it is , in the main , an old building which has been nicely modernised .
very close to the part dieu train station. The staff was amazing, the service is excellent, they gave us a map and were very helpfull in explaining nearby sights. our room was very nice and clean we had a mini bar, a coffee maker and a very lovely bathoorm. the beds were very confortable and we had air conditionning. The wifi was not working so well but the rest of the room was lovely. the hotel is close to many lovely places to visit.
Arrived at the BW Crequi in Part Dieu, checked in only to find the internet was not functioning in our room. The desk person tried everything she possibly could to remedy the situation. It was only our room that failed. She gave us another room. On another occasion, the desk person (male) gave us excellent information regarding restaurants, metro stops, etc. Always friendly, always helpful. The hotel rooms are small and not in the greatest part of Lyon. Part Dieu, well . . . , no it's not Bellacour, but there are some fine little restaurants with great service and very reasonable prices. The GW is also close to Les Halles Paul Bocuse and the main train station as well as metro and tram stops. Worth a revisit and in the area, especially if going by train.
We spent a wekend in Lyon and found this hotel to be convenien and comfortable with a caring and professional staff. We had a garden room that was very comfortable. The hotel in in the Lyon Part Dieu arrangment - a 7 Euro taxi ride from Leon Part Dieu rail station. There is a local bus stop across the street from the hotel, and the Metro and Tram are about 2 blocks from the hotel. We were there on a weekend, when the hotel's restaurant and lounge are closed, but there are a a number of bars and restaurants within a couple of block' walk from the hotel.
Stayed with a group of friends split up into various size rooms. Slightly disappointed with the small twin room I ended up in. Smallest lift I have ever been in and found housekeeping still hadn't finished even though we arrived mid afternoon. Fast efficient friendly reception. Continental breakfast Sunday morning with a limited selection however the member of staff was friendly and the tea and coffee came quickly. Air conditioning wasn't working in the room. All in all slightly disappointed with the hotel.
The hotel is in a very good location 5-10 minutes walk takes you across the river and into the old part of Lyon. It is also within walking distance 10-15 mins from the Rhone Express from the airport. The hotel is very clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming. My stay was during May, when I arrived the room was very hot and the air conditioning was switched off. Reported to reception who visited my room to report the air conditioning is only activated from June onwards. Despite my request I was told to open the window (which could not be secured as the lock had broken) hotel obviously does not consider the needs of residents who may arrive from different climates. Breakfast was continental with only a relatively small selection being made available, no option of hot food given. Would be OK for a short weekend stay.
Stayed for one night, booked hotel as close to station. Excellent hotel much better than I expected for the tariff. Staff were fantastic. Rooms of a high standard (executive room), breakfast available but I didn't eat there. Quite courtyard a bonus. Good location within walking distance of station and city. Would stay again.
The hotel served its purpose as a place to lay my head after the rugby European Cup Final. The hotel is a convenient ten minute walk from the Part-Dieu station. The room was small but clean, comfortable and satisfactory. However, the price was hiked by 225% because of the rugby events being held in Lyon that weekend. This is shear profiteering and for the price the hotel was very poor value.
When I first arrived all was well. It was super easy checking in and getting into my room. Not long after I checked in I left to go have dinner with my brother. When I returned later that evening I was informed by the young gentleman at the front desk that my room had been changed and my stuff was taken to my new room for me. I was furious to find out that not only had they given my room to someone who was only staying for 1 night but they also moved all my belongings without my permission. I had also put some items in the safe which I was not able to get until the following morning which is completely unacceptable. And to top it all off they are way overcharging for breakfast. I will never be staying here again.
No hesitation in recommending this hotel. Met the standard of other Best Western hotels we have stayed at previously. We would stay here again. Fairly close (short taxi ride; but most people could comfortably walk) to Lyon train station which suited us.
This is a very average basic hotel which is close to Gare Lyon Part Dieu. Currently renovating it's reception area. The rooms are very tired and need renovating. The room I stayed in was missing blinds and as the curtain was see through, there was limited privacy. The staff are pleasant. No facility in room for tea/coffee making - when asked the receptionist seemed surprised that there weren't these facilities in the room and could only offer a kettle from the office. There is a hotel restaurant located within the premises. The food served is good but there is unfortunately a very strong smell of grease in the corridors which is unpleasant.
not bad, just average [on the below side]. Nothing really bad Watch for location: there is nothing around. Lights in room are old generation eco: take forever to provide light, and there are not enough of them Breakfast: you are supposed to get fresh oranges to squeeze in the morning, but ''they had not received them this morning'' [3 mornings out of 5: to my opinion, easy saving for the hotel!]
Nice little hotel in the centre of Lyon. Parking situation a little difficult. Helpful tips from the desk. We had what we expected. We can recomment for a city trip or overnight sleeping. Near the old city with restaurants.
Stayed here for 5 nights in August where all staff were most pleasant and extremely helpful. The hotel is in close proximity to the Part Dieu train station and shopping mall. This hotel is excellent value for money and as definitely you get what you pay for and the staff go beyond their call of duty to make your stay most comfortable and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel for value for money and cleanliness. Thank you Best Western for a most enjoyable experience. One thing I feel should mention and would say about Lyon which has absolutely nothing to do with hotel is that having travelled almost all over the world I have never had such bad gastronomic experiences in the restaurants despite its amazing reputation (not Best Western) and this was the same to everyone we spoke to and even our friends who came here the week before us as we were here for the World Masters Athletic Championships and could not believe that so many restaurants were closed during such an important world event.
Not too far to wheel your luggage from Gare Part-Dieu, convenience store on next corner, Les Halles food markets in next street and about 1km to the Rhone and across to old Lyon. Convenient and well priced.
I spent 5 nights in the BW and the experience was not great. First the AC barely worked I was uncomfortable most of the time in the room with the exception of morning. Next my shower was clogged and I brought to the front desk twice but nothing was done I had to shower in under 2 minutes otherwise the bathroom would have flooded. The beds were comfortable and the staff did a good job keeping them clean. The buffet breakfast is not worth 16.50 euros. And when I asked for Ice (3 times) I was told they did not have ice. The last thing is only one device can be connected at a time so if you are on a laptop using wifi you will be booted off your phones wifi. It's 2015 they need to understand people use more than one device. I realize hotel rooms in Europe are small but these are smaller than most ie Marriott, Novotel, IBIS etc.
Spent a night at Best Western Crequi Lyon Part- Dieu. Room was not spacious but was adequate as spent most time shopping and visiting tourist attractions. Clean and worth the 4 Star rating. To get there from the airport, I caught the rhonexpress to Gare Lyon Part-Dieu and walked to the hotel which took about 10 minutes. You can take a tram T1 Debourg and get off at the Palais de justice and the hotel is 100metres from there. It is close to Tram, Metro and walkable to many areas. All depends on how you feel. Get a Day card which costs 5.50euros and can be used unlimited all day on tram, metro, bus and funicular. A one way ticket is 1.80 and limited to return within the hour. Vice versa, when leaving the hotel to get back to the main train station Gare Lyon Part Dieu, you can walk or take tram from Palais de justice IUT T1 to the aforementioned station. The customer service offered on my arrival and departure was exceptional and this is al down to one person, Romain. He is an asset to this establishment. Always smiling, helpful and giving that extra service. Spoke reasonably good English and nothing was too difficult for him in assisting. Made my stay a pleasure. I have stayed in many hotels worldwide, however, this service was outstanding. First class. Bravo. There is tea/ coffee facilities in bedroom, mini bar and a complimentary water. Also there are complimentary shaving, dental etc at reception should you require. Would definitely recommend staying here again.a/c excellent and wifi very quick and in room and all over the hotel.
The room was small (as it usual in France) but very quiet, ther location is very good 5-10min walk to the city center end 15 min to the old town. The breakfast was very expensive & poor,(Not recommended ) Free Hi speed WiFi
.The hotel is 10 minutes from main train station and shopping mall. the room I've staid in was smelled like it was just painted and everything looks old and well used. nice breakfast very helpful...
