SureStay by Best Western Lewiston Auburn Area

Clean and comfortable, however the breakfast was a one out of five stars and there was no gym.

We arrived here late in the evening after a concert in Bangor. Room was a distance from the lobby and being in a wheelchair was a bit of a challenge traveling on the carpet. Maybe it's because of the lateness of our arrival for the location of the room. Room was decent size and easily traversed in my wheelchair. Bathroom was good as well but I did struggle a little trying to use the toilet as there's not quite enough room in front of it to line up my wheelchair and transfer to toilet. Shower had good pressure and a drop down bench. For me, it seemed a little low for me to sit on and had I had a plastic bag to cover my wheelchair seat, I could have used that to bring the height up. I ended up using my shower bench instead. Bed was a queen but was quite a hard bed and I didn't end up getting a great nights sleep. This is my only real "complaint" with regards to the room and would have scored it higher if it was a little softer/plusher.

Hotel was very clean and employees were very friendly. Reserved room with king sized bed. Bed was comfortable. Refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker. Bathroom was decent size. Now the bad. No elevators. Hallways are not air conditioned. Hotel provides breakfast, but eating area is too small to accommodate hotel guests. Hotel is not centrally located to anything. Walmart and name brand restaurants 10-15 minute ride away. Lewiston is shakey itself. For instance, gas station noted hoods have to be removed?

Hotel clean & comfortable. Great sleep, room quiet and AC easy to control and kept us cool. Good shower, lots of hot water, thick towels. Lovely breakfast and much more options than a simple continental breakfast as advertised. Check in and out both speedy and staff very pleasant. Location easy to get to and parking convenient.

Never sure how to do these reviews but I give this little hotel 5 stars. Obviously this isn't a true five star hotel like the Ritz Carlton or whatever but I really thought the owners were doing a great job. I wanted a clean, comfortable, affordable room and was super pleased. My room was spotless clean, obviously recently remodeled and redecorated. The front desk guy (Shashi???) was genuinely nice and helpful. My apologies if I misspelled his name. Will be staying there again tomorrow night. I had zero complaints.

Picked this on a whim basically on availability and location but have to be honest , was totally blown away by how great our stay was. We are on Harley's and have to take all the gear off and up the stairs (no elevator) but the room was a 10! Great AC. Very clean, modern USB plugs everywhere. Lots of bright LED lighting and remarkably quiet so close to the freeway. They are motorcycle friendly letting us park under the awning and giving us old bike towels to clean up the bikes. The night manager even text me after check in with his number in case we needed anything. Free breakfast was large and had many choices. Would definitely stay here again. Cost was a lot less than the $205 the Hampton Inn quoted for same product. I will look for this chain when I travel.

We highly recommend this hotel and the rooms are very clean, updated furniture and updated bathrooms. The staff is wonderful and gave us some recommendations for restaurants in the area. We will return back in a heart beat and the price was very reasonable to compare to other hotels in the area.

Comfortable, clean room. Easy access to interstate, great parking, easy check-in process. Even though we arrived for breakfast with only 10 minutes left and they told us not to rush and enjoy our breakfast. The parking is good, close access to the interstate and check in was seamless.

I am 70 years old and traveled to the area alone for a mini vacation. I was very pleased with my stay. I thought for this time of year, and things happening around the area, that the price was reasonable. First thing is they had security entrance to the hall where my room was, so I felt safe. The room was very clean and comfy. It had a microwave, mini frig, desk w/chair, and a side chair too, which a lot of places don't have and one person usually ends up sitting on the bed. Good WIFI. Free good parking. The people were so nice and helpful.

We stayed on the main floor and as soon as we walked in there was a horrible smell. It was loud and twice we had people knock on our door late at night and run away. I couldn't sleep, there was people wondering around outside and the cost was outrageous. In the morning it was so busy we couldn't even get breakfast. Definitely not set up for a large group of people. I would not recommend this hotel mainly because of the smell and huge cost.

Our stay was quite satisfactory. Room was spacious and comfortable; beds were clean and fresh, nice thick towels, and very good Wi-fi. Parking lot storm drain work started up about 9:00 AM but we were sightseeing and not bothered by it. There isn't much nearby unless you go into town. Breakfast was a bit spartan but we managed with cereals and bagels. There are nicer facilities but you will pay substantially more. It's not bad for a former Motel 6.

Our room was like sleeping in a swamp. We had the sheets changed and tried opening the window to dry it out but that didn't help. Room smelled a little musty as well. Breakfast was good and it was easy to check in and out. Had it not been for the dampness I would rate it higher. However this was also the only hotel with vacancy for our trip.

Very good for basic hotel services overall. Not stuck in midtown and not so far away from everything.

Marc and the family that run the Sure Stay in Lewiston have done a great job to update the space. The hotel is clean, safe and well maintained. The breakfast was simple but good. They were very accommodating and friendly.

My stay was nice. I stayed for one night and partook in the continental breakfast which was nice and had a decent variety of breakfast foods I will be making another return soon

Very convenient location to event we were attending in area. Hotel easily assessable, with tons of parking. Staff pleasant & helpful. Simple reservation & check-in process & extremely easy/convenient process for literal last minute late check-out (at $10 per extra hour). Appreciated the auto text message from hotel received at check-in, letting me know I could text that # back with any questions/issues that may arise. Was extremely helpful when I needed to know wifi password & when I had a question about late check-out…received replies to my questions, literally instantly, both times. So convenient..more hotels should have that! Room was stylish & comfortable…loved color scheme, hard flooring, and furnishings. Bed & bedding were extremely comfortable (best nights sleep I've had, with my bad back, in forever). All amenities in room (heater, fridge, microwave, handicap assessable shower, charging ports, etc) worked perfectly. Hotel was quite clean & the air quality was completely fine (my allergies didn't flare up, which all too often happens to me at hotels). Were pleasantly surprised to find the window in our room actually able to open (somewhat of a rarity in hotels these days, from my experience) as well. So were able to let in fresh air for a moment when I got room too hot & was able to speak to my husband through it when he got locked out of the building. We stayed in a handicap assessable room & I loved how spacious it was. I was also very pleased with the size of the bathroom & the assessable shower (the built in bench, detachable shower head, and endless hot water were wonderful). People with certain disabilities may be disappointed to find the shower to be the one with the tub, as opposed to the one without the tub, from the online photos of the room (just a heads up)…it was fine for me, with my specific disabilities, though. Stay was convenient, comfortable, & pleasant…no complaints here…will definitely stay again when in the area. If this hotel ever decides to put in a pool & hot tub, a couple more washers, and a tiny shelf in bathroom…it would be absolutely perfect & become a literal favorite for me.

I do not usually put in bad reviews but this experience with Best Western in Lewiston Maine was one of the worst ever. I called directly to hotel to book a reservation for my daughter, using my cc to hold it. I was told it was refundable even if it stated it wasn't. My fault that I did not get that in writing, even if I documented it. I ended up canceling and was charged full price. Again I believed her for what I was told over the phone. I spoke to hotel directly asking to speak to a manager. The female I spoke to would not allow me to do so. I asked more than once. She said she handled all issues and was told no one there would have told me it was refundable. It is possible that due to a language barrier I misunderstood. I feel I should be allowed to speak to a manager. I am disputing this currently with my cc. But I will never do business with this hotel again. Not allowing someone to talk to the manager is wrong

My stay here was great. The only issue I had was a lady who kept leaving her dogs in her vehicle in below freezing temps. It's not a luxury hotel but it's clean and comfortable. I've stayed here three different times this year.

We just needed a place to stay, we went to Maine to go shopping, we choose this hotel as it was in the area we wanted to stay, at first we were looking for price, which was great, then we found they served a complementary breakfast. We checked the reviews and they were pretty good, so we booked. The rooms, building , breakfast and staff were great, we will use this hotel for any future travels.

Room was in good shape, fairly recently renovated. Nice bathroom, comfortable bed. Ok breakfast, good Green Mountain coffee. Slept well, heard some talking from outside by loud talkers. Wifi worked well.

Cockroaches in the room and bathroom! Non-smoking room smelled horrible like tobacco. Rooms are not soundproof at all. People next door were very loud. Do not stay here!! Unacceptable conditions for a hotel!

We enjoyed the clean, safe, friendly, and good place to stay. The breakfast was a nice way to start our morning. The rooms were clean. We appreciated the quiet room after a long day of traveling. The staff were attentive and offered information on what sites to see in the area. Thanks for a wonderful stay

Stayed this property on the recent motorcycle trip. First time at a sure stay property. Lobby was clean, reception was friendly. Rooms were clean, comfortable, modern decor. Hotel was quiet, beds were comfortable, good nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was your typical Best Western continental fare. No reason to leave hungry. Overall pretty happy.

I've been traveling to this motel for years when it used to be a motel eight in it was OK but now since they are best, Western, they've remodeled the hotel a lot cleaner, better new beds the owners always greet me by my name when I walk through the door always willing to help.

Saw this "new" Best Western along my route from Moncton going to Springfield Mass. Normally I stay in Augusta, but decided to change it up.. As mentioned in another review, the smoke and weed smell was a bit much. Breakfast needs to be improved, which I assume they will in due time. I left an honest review with them, and got a generic reply back. I'll watch this site to see if it improves as I do travel some down that way. But for the time being, Augusta will be my stop. This place has potential for sure.

I've stayed at Sure Stay Hotels many times over the last 20+ years. This was by far the best Sure Stay experience. The price was very reasonable, the staff was super awesome, and the room was CLEAN! I consider this a true "diamond in the rough" as it is situated between two other hotels that look REALLY bad. When in Lewiston, this is the place to stay!

The room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the colors and decor very much. Everything was there that we needed for amenities. Efficient use of space without feeling crammed or awkward. Quite pleased.

This hotel took over another name property and has done a great job of renovation. They just need to upgrade a few things to come up to the standards of Best Western. They need to upgrade their breakfast, add some fresh cooked eggs and meat. They also need a larger breakfast area. They need to replace their towels and washcloths with soft fluffy ones. The ones they have are thin and rough.

If you think Lewiston is depressing wait until you pull into the Sure Stay Best Western. While the small hotel offers clean, renovated rooms, and a free continental breakfast, the lingering smell of smoke and weed will offend even the noses of Covid long haulers who haven't been able to smell in a year. This hotel also boasts live-in tenants and an array of drug users who hang out at a picnic table (the only outdoor sitting area) in the back parking lot. Cop cars frequented the hotel parking lot as we were there for three nights and it was apparent that there would be no safe space for our children to play. We had booked 19 rooms as part of a hockey team and the children were stir crazy as there was no space for them to blow off energy. In fact, one of the hotel Managers let himself into our room without permission to tell our boys to be quiet! When we addressed our “annoyance” with this, the front desk folks (3 of them) mustered up their best customer service practices and argued, yelled and gaslit us without offering an apology. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone - not even a homeless dog. Well, maybe a homeless dog. If they were desperate.

Hotel service did a great job and kept our room clean at all times! The personal was very friendly, helpful and responsive to all of our questions and requests. Overall, it was a great experience. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a cheaper price and good quality!

When we checked in there was a bunch of noisy kids running all over the hotel ans making noise till late running down the hallway. Despite some comments we read the hotel had renovated 6-months ago and was formerly Motel 6. Check-in was fast and staff was chatty and friendly. Room was big and bright, even with the typical Motel 6 layout and with everything new, clean and functional. Microwave, fridge, TV, couch and bathtub(no stopper thus bathtub useless). Comfortable, clean with no carpet and they provide daily room cleaning service. Good WiFi and lots of parking space. Breakfast was simple but as some had mentioned not enough table/seats for all so we took breakfast back to the room. Many wall sockets with USB and electrical outlets. Great! It's supposed to be a Smoke-Free hotel but 2nd night we smelled weed filtering into the room. Bad! And yes certain area of the hotel has the lingering curry smell as we noticed the further in upper level rooms occupied by Indians and probably live-in employees or the owners. The price paid for the stay was not cheap for similar standard accommodation and even more then what we paid for NY Best Western hotel.
