"Great basic hotel"
NorthStar62353810750, 03 Mars 2024

Clean and comfortable unassuming hotel. Usual amenities including wifi, refrigerator, and microwave. Quiet location, close to Freeport shopping and coastal regions. Great breakfast (not included in inexpensive rate) is a 1 minute walk and it's a 3 minute walk to a dinner restaurant.

"Wonderful staff"
jvarney9282, 24 Février 2024

Everyone is extremely nice and kind. Absolutely Exceptional customer service. Rooms are always very clean , neat , and very organized. The best customer service around the area for sure. They really seem to care for each of the guests and it's well known. I have had one bad night do to noise from other guests. But overall I give this place 5 out of 5 on all.

"The staff was very friendly and accomodating"
nixie06am, 02 Janvier 2024

The room was very affordable, comfortable and clean. We were traveling with our 10 lb dog and the hotel was very pet friendly. We would definitely go back and stay again in the future. The hotel was close to many of the nearby attractions we were visiting.

"Great stay"
deborahmC9811WG, 23 Décembre 2023

Easy check in. (Done through a third party) really enjoyed our stay. Needed a place due to 4 days without electricity. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The view was lovely, woke up to a duck hunter out back shooting this was initially alarming. I had to work from the hotel, wifi had no problems. Front desk staff was pleasant and gave me an extra hour after checkout due to work meeting. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for the stay

"No, no and no"
PDXishome, 04 Octobre 2023

If you see the photo on their website, this is the checkin office, which is not marked, but obvious after driving up to the building behind it and not finding a main entrance. A sign indicating “Check in here for Best Western” seems like a no-brainer. Entrance to their building down the road was unkempt. An outdoor vacuum would increase curb appeal. But it was an indication of the interior which was not clean. I blame owner for not setting a high standard or instructing how to clean thoroughly. Wall unit fan and heater was blowing a lot of dust. I wiped the grates clean; it was unpleasant to see all the accumulated dust. Light switches on wall had embedded dirt. Balcony door would not open. No soap or shampoo holder in accessible shower. A safety grab bar was behind the toilet. What was that for? Unpleasant to wonder when room was “cleaned”. And my pet peeves: bath towels on a low rack right above the toilet and facial tissue placed on top of toilet tank! These are unfortunate practices in some hotels. High percentage of ecoli is emitted into the air when toilet is flushed when lid is not put down first. Awful to think of bacteria landing on towels and on box of facial tissue!

"Best Western Freeport"
Roy A, 30 Septembre 2023

Had a great stay here. The front desk staff, especially Xavier and Johnathan, were super helpful with our large group and making sure we were all staying together. The outside doesn't look like much, but the rooms looked relatively new. Bed was comfortable, TV and AC worked well. They didn't offer breakfast, but the adjacent diner offered some great food.

"A Great Place To Stay"
TimandCarol, 24 Septembre 2023

This hotel is located on the outskirt of Freeport. The room was a large and comfortable with a good size mini fridge and microwave. Scenic view from our room. The hotel is just a few minutes drive from dowtown Freeport and only 15 minutes drive to Portland. It makes a nice base for exploring the Portland area. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The only real issue was a problem with the water pressure in the shower.

"GOOD STAY"
lick007, 23 Septembre 2023

The room is in the building across the cove from the office. The room and bed were ok, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom could use an update, but everything worked good, the patio door is worn but you can open and get so nice air breeze. The spot is noisey due to 295 right there, get extra coffee and creamers if in the building for morning coffee.

"Very average hotel"
Richard B, 10 Septembre 2023

The hotel has two locations which is not explained on their site. We were put in the annex about 1/2 mile down the road. The building is tired and showing its age. It was noisier from the road than the main building would have been. Breakfast not included.

"Best Western? Not even 2nd Best Western"
jjseast, 07 Septembre 2023

My wife and I stayed here for a night while travelling through southern Maine. We were put in room 235 in the second building where we found all sorts of issues. This is a ground floor room and the windows were not only open, but had no screens and the window frames were broken. I had to go outside and push hard on the crank style windows to close them enough that my wife could lock them. I ran into two housekeepers on the way in and mentioned it to them. They can and looked and said, “yeah, it's ok”. The tile floor had shiny spots all over it that were slippery and when we wiped it up, the cloth was nearly black. The next morning as my wife went to the shower and turned on the light, she was treated to a number of cockroaches scurrying away and managed to kill one. We took these concerns to the front desk at checkout and although Cynthia was understanding and shocked, management only credited half the charge back to us, despite asking for a full refund. They've recently done work to dress up the exterior of the building, but there is a lot of work needed inside.

"Maine vacation"
DMK618, 01 Septembre 2023

Handicap accessibility was excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant connected to the hotel was exceptional in value and taste. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it.

"A-1 Stay"
jmw212023, 27 Août 2023

The total process from on-line reservation to check-out was simple, flawless, & catered to the needs of the guest. Clean spacious room with perfect amenities, friendly staff. The on premises cafe was ideal with great food and friendly, caring staff.

"Not up to standard"
Bluffton29910, 23 Août 2023

Not up to Best Western standards. Breakfast not included and no elevator. I will not stay here again. The hotel does have nice towels though and is convenient to the interstate. There is a cafe on property but it's expensive. Overall I was disappointed not to have Best Western's iconic waffles.

"Spn"
naz1042023, 17 Août 2023

I would stay again in a minute. It was the newer location open a month. Road noise was an issue on front side room. Well worth the money compared to others. Ps stay away from econolodge. Room was very clean and beds comfy.

"Clean enough, but"
My_Display_Name2023, 08 Août 2023

This BW has two different hotel buildings with the second about 1/4 mile away. That's where we were booked. If you want to use the pool, you'll need to drive there as the walk would be unsafe along the road. The TCL television is still set to “Store Mode” and without the factory remote you're unable to remove the popup covering 1/3 of the screen. Management does not have the original remote. Room 332.

"Family Trip"
the4pitres, 08 Août 2023

The worst stay at a Best Western Hotel. The beds were horrible felt every spring in the mattress the smell was very strong. Internet was horrible. Family could not sleep as we listened to dog's barking the whole night.

"Basically OK"
bricklinng, 27 Juillet 2023

You get a clean room and that's it. No breakfast, no usb power plug, limited TV channels and some lights may not work. OK but BASIC. Location on US1 is convenient but you might prefer the Holiday Inn Express nearby on US1. That's where I am staying next time.

"Canceled reservation with no notice, no apology, no help"
ArtTrippers, 27 Novembre 2022

We have stayed in this hotel before because it was inexpensive and convenient for visiting family nearby. It was basic and fairly clean, if tired and nothing special. In August, we made a reservation there for Thanksgiving night. When we didn't receive a confirmation email, I called the day before to make sure we were all set. We were not. First they said they couldn't find our reservation. Then they said they did but that they had been canceling many reservations recently and ours was one of them. They said they had no idea why they didn't contact us to tell us that. Neither person I spoke with offered help or apology. One even giggled when telling us that apparently our reservation had been canceled. Needless to say, we will never stay there again, and would warn anyone else away.

"DO NOT STAY HERE!"
JDR277, 13 Octobre 2022

DO NOT STAY HERE! We had reservations for over 6 months, confirming it the night before. Arrived…..and was told no reservation. The guy didn't even look at his computer, just some paper notes. The check in area was a disaster. Full of tons of boxes of clothes that appeared to be just thrown in. STACKS of them!! Stacks and stacks of boxes with food spilling out, broccoli, and who knows what else. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

"Not open to the public!!!???"
Evitzee123, 10 Septembre 2022

Wife and I arrived with a confirmed reservation but upon entering the lobby was greeted by bags of rice, canned beans and other bulk food. Was told by non interested person that hotel was "not open to the public at this time". Did I mention that all the signage in the lobby appeared to be in Spanish? Putting two and two together we concluded that this property was contracted out to house newly arrived immigrants. We never received a note or phone call telling us our reservation was cancelled. We had to scramble to find a room in Portland at an additional $200 expense. Just a nasty, terrible experience. Best Western is off our list.

"Horrible Experience!!"
AnnMarieV217, 01 Septembre 2022

I had a confirmed reservation from 8/3 to 8/10 that was booked 5 months prior. When I arrived, was rudely told they didn't have any rooms available nor did they honor my reservation. I ended up having to find other lodging and thankfully they had rooms available for my timeframe but spent extra money that I shouldn't have. Will never stay at Best Western again!!

"RESERVATION NOT HONORED"
geom961, 27 Juin 2022

We had a confirmed reservation and confirmation number and upon arrival were told that they did not have any rooms nor did they have our reservation. Best Western did not comp us anything and we ended up spending an additional $220. to lodge at a Comfort Inn down the street. We will never try to stay here again.

"Could be a Lot Better with some effort"
Diverdan28, 15 Avril 2022

First trip into maine for some time so we chose a Best Westyern based on previous exceptional stays. This one was disapointing. First of all, the office isn't well marked but we eventually figured it had to be the building down the hill from the hotel. Check-in was quite efficient but she failed to mention the wifi was down. This was critical to us as we had future bookings to make and urgent emails to do. The room was quite good- better than average. Both refrigerator and microwave, and the pull-out table to eat on was a great alternative to the desk in most places. Great view and a long way from the Interstate so very quiet. Bathrooms looked recenly renovated and had lots of towels. We did find the bed a bit too soft for our liking and my wife slept pooorly as a result. We eventually called the front desk re the wifi and were told it was being repaired that evening. We asked to be called when it was up. We never got a call despite leaving several voice mails. It was still down the next morning. We later realized there was no one at the office throughout the night which could have been a real disaster if we had a plumbing or security issue. The voice mail for the front desk provided no number to call for emergencies. Only in the morning when we went to the front office did we see the posted number on the front door. I believe if motels do not have 24 hour front desk attendance, this should be made very apparent at check-in and contact numbers provided. Unlike most BWs, they also provided no breakfast. So close to a good spot, but with some glaring deficiencies. We won't be back

"worst stay anywhere of my life"
thisreallysucked, 16 Janvier 2022

I don't know where to start. Filthy, the fire dpt showed up because of an electrical fire at 5 am that terrified us all. The internet is beyond terrible (0.09 mbps download) It wouldn't have been so bad but the employees are really mean people. Breakfast was really expensive for air fryer homefries...

"Wonderful place with a wonderful view"
C5475BIandrea, 15 Décembre 2021

Love staying at this place. Always feel like it's home and the people are lovely. The breakfast place on the property is the best plus the restaurant, Muddy Rudder, gives a discount for staying at the Inn. Bed was so comfy and our dog loved the place too!!

"Terrible ...skip it"
Randaso725, 05 Décembre 2021

This hotel was AT BEST worth $70 per night and instead charged for two nights, $312+!! Now on another planet that is actually not bad EXCEPT there was no wifi, no cable box in my room which they claimed they would "find me one" but then didn't until I called three times and mentioned once in person, just on principle...one was finally delivered and it was hot to touch..so clearly the next guest of THAT room was going to go thru what we did!! The deadlock was missing the most important piece, had been unscrewed out of the door, there was mold I'm the bathroom, it was dusty, unvaccumed....(I don't know maybe since summer possibly?) You couldn't shut or open the door without force and shaking the frame and when leaving had to use the room key and twist the handle down in order to close the door. Have I mentioned the noise yet? Yes well it's not well insulated here so you can hear gnats mating on the floor above and below you. Oh and the "cafe" they recommend was delicious...again though $36 for pancakes and french toast was a hard swallow and had to corral my waitress to get a second cup of coffee. Oh and you can also skip the Muddy Rudder..which is their other recommendation..if you show your key, you get 10% off but that's only if you CAN GET A TABLE....They dont take reservations but do 30 min call ahead...which I did and tried to give my name...Tony said, it will be about an hour and no need to give name you can tell me when you get there. Got there within the 30 minutes and Tonys incredibly rude ass told me he tried to get my name and it would be aoat another hour. When I pushed back he and his snarky staff made comments passive aggressively about moving people around to accommodate us and we decided they too did not deserve our business and left! Terrible terrible all the way around...which again, appropriately priced I would have shrugged off as eh, get what you pay for...it's the OVEE THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS..I have a HUGE issue with and won't EVER EVER stay there again!!!

"Filthy, and No Internet"
Camper11286477593, 22 Novembre 2021

This hotel is very dirty. There are ladybugs everywhere in the room. My neighbors cat was walking thru the hall with a mouse in its mouth. Mold in bathroom vent and no internet for 2+ weeks now. I will never stay at this place ever again. All the travel nurses here are leaving becausr it is horrible here.

"Best Hotel in Freeport with your Dog"
Dream31519472292, 30 Octobre 2021

We have stayed here for fifteen years. It has always been great. However, the improvements were exceptional this time. First, the solar panels were great to see upon entering the property. The nice young man in the office was organized and had our reservation and room ready. The updated rooms were great. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The rooms were clean. Not covered up with smelly fragrance. Thank you, thank you. See you again, soon. Keep up your great service. Stay safe.

"Great location"
Extraordinary246858, 22 Octobre 2021

We recently stayed 3 nights at the Freeport Maine location. Loved the fact that the hotel is pet friendly and each room had it's own access door, which made it easier traveling with our pet; no hallways or stairs to deal with when taking our dog for walks. Parking spot right in front of room made it easy to unload and reload luggage from car. Location was great with access to nearby attractions, restaurants and shopping as well as highway access nearby. It was quiet and peaceful, making a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend for a relaxing vacation and will definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

"Awful"
Kathleen W, 15 Octobre 2021

No elevator, so either stay on 1st floor (which I requested but did not get) or stay on the 3rd. There is no breakfast included with the room. The grounds are ugly. The building is hideous. They have a pool but there is no way I would use it. The lobby is not really a lobby as it is very small and totally unadorned. They don't even offer coffee in the morning. The bathrooms are so tiny, cramped. There are other hotels not far away...check those out.

"Not worthy of one star"
whahoo31, 15 Octobre 2021

Building not easy to access, didn't feel safe, dismal & dark hallway. Heavy dust on fixtures in room. Musty odor. Loud a/c. King size bed was a queen. NO HOT WATER!!! Staff not helpful. Not worthy of Best Western brand. Requested to speak to manager and still no contact from them! Absolutely horrible experience.

"Freeport Maine stay"
524cliffordw, 04 Octobre 2021

We stayed in this hotel Lon three separate occasions. The rooms were always clean. Everything worked. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There are two areas to this hotel and we stayed in both. I would recommend this establishment because of it location to downtown Freeport.

"Moldy smell in the room"
Nickamin2000, 30 Septembre 2021

This hotel has no elevator. The “recently renovated” room had a moldy smell, poor lighting, noisy wooden floors, strong deodorizer to mask the smell, broken tile floors. The front staff are polite but not friendly and lack proper hospitality manners. I don't recommend this hotel.

"Hidden gem"
carolyndotterson, 21 Septembre 2021

The building looks plain, but the comfort and room decor were wonderful! The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a great restaurant nearby, with full menu and wonderful coffee. Easy on and off the road to access.

"Very Disappoined"
lulu2810, 17 Septembre 2021

Steep steps into the office. We didn't know our room was in the annex which is quarter mile away up a hill. Both parking lots are full of large potholes. The annex is nothing like the pictures on the website. It is old, dark with dirty carpets in hall and room. The bathroom was good. It is not their practice to put bath towels in rooms. We had to go back to the office and wait while the employee had to go up stairs for several minutes to get towels for us. No elevator and steep stairs in annex. No free breakfast which we thought all Best Westerns have. We would not recommend this motel.

"Terrible stay"
TaraS858, 13 Septembre 2021

Stayed at this resort this weekend, renting two room. What the site shows is vastly different than what we experienced. Hall had not been vacuumed in at least a week, rooms were dated, bathroom is circa 1990, room was dirty, stains on the walls. At over $200/night, we had expected to at least have an average experience. We will not be staying again, nor do we recommend this hotel

"DO NOT STAY - not your typical Best Western!"
May Y, 08 Septembre 2021

Horrible, the worse ever. There is no indication during reservation that there is an annex that is off site from the best western, we were placed there. It appears to be a motel that was acquired. The hallway smells like stale cigarettes, the room - OMG after a day of wearing masks - it smelled so rancid in the room we didn't even bother to take off our mask. I used up the frebreeze and Lysol and the urine smell linger: the sheets were dirty. Poor lighting. I would pay $20 more a night and go to the Hilton Garden Inn at Freeport.

"Not so nice"
pkabatek, 07 Septembre 2021

This 'hotel' is unlike any other Best Western I've stayed in. The front office was a shack outside the hotel building. When I went to check in, I was told we'd be staying in their 2nd building in the woods that was not visible from this location. When I asked about the free breakfast, I was told that was not happening but there were grab & go bags with some food we could take. When I asked about the pool that was advertised open until Labor Day, I was told that was a mistake - it was closed. When we got to the 'other' building, it was secluded in the woods and it looked run down. Upon approaching the entrance door, it was visibly damaged up and the latch/lock was well worn. There was a cigarette smell in the hallway just inside the entrance door. The 2nd floor hallway was dark. The room itself was actually ok. However, as we were unloading our car in the dark, my wife had to make a 2nd trip to the car and did not lock it. After she was done and a little while later, I went to the car to retrieve an item I forgot. After I locked the car, I noticed the tailgate open light was on. I went to close it but could not. After I opened it, I found someone had set a rock in the opening so it would not close. It appears we were set up for someone to enter our car and steal whatever they wanted. I will not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Disappointing"
Salonstyle, 24 Août 2021

We've stayed at a lot of Best Westerns over the years and this one certainly was needing a lot of TLC. The staff was very kind and helpful, but I had asked not to be put way away from the office and we were way up this steep hill on the other end of the building. The property was unkept outside ( overflowing garbage) and rooms not properly cleaned. Maybe like everywhere else they can't find enough help. Hopefully this location will get a tune up to help their ratings.

"Wonderful, and pet-friendly!"
Karol B, 22 Août 2021

Stayed at the Best Western in South Freeport. Really a nice room, and actually overlooked an estuary - complete with feeding Egrets! The room was very clean, and staff was friendly, professional, and very responsive. We will absolutely be staying again. It is very hard to find affordable, clean, and beautifully located places to stay in the Freeport area that are pet-friendly.

"Easy"
shanekasper, 18 Août 2021

Whole process was easy, check in was quick and friendly, a nice view from the room and a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend the area and the hotel to people looking to come here. Only downfall is the city shuts down after 9pm! Just plan ahead

"Poor Hotel Experience"
1005Rob, 02 Août 2021

This hotel was a major disappointment. First, the parking lot is full of potholes. This is a poor image. Second, I was assigned to a building about 1/4 mile away from the front desk. This building looked nothing like the pictures in the website. It was dirty and old. There was construction debris everywhere and there was garbage overflowing outside the building. The Direct TV reception didn't work. I called the front desk and was told that "most of them don't work, but they are looking in to it." The AC growled all night long and needs to be repaired. One of the lights in our room didn't work. This was a disappointment.

"Over priced"
O309KWrob, 23 Juillet 2021

The room was clean and staff was friendly but the rate ( $299 night ) was excessive given no elevator and had to walk suit cases up one floor with no warning from the staff. Recently stayed in Ft Wayne Indiana at Marriott for $ 180 per night.

"Good value but not great"
khfl29, 19 Juillet 2021

We stayed at this hotel with our family while on vacation. It was a good value, staff was friendly, and we enjoyed the breakfast to go. Our room also had a very pretty river view. However, it was an inconvenient drive from the hotel lobby to our building, the building stairways were dirty and smelled of cigarettes, and our room floor had a huge chip in it.

"an embarrassment to the brand"
trujim, 09 Juillet 2021

the negatives: - huge, deep potholes greet you as you arrive - one building of rooms requires driving to it – this means that if your key malfunctions, or you want to pick up your pathetic take-out “breakfast”, or get ice, you need to get back in your car, find the exit driveway (hint: it's hidden behind some overgrown bushes), and drive back through the potholes to get to reception - the parking lot includes an unsightly, overflowing dumpster, with broken tvs, chairs, etc, surrounding it, making me wonder if they hadn't paid the garbage bill for a while… - the hallway was dark & dingy, chipped paint - you get the picture - once you get in the room, the floor is gritty (so much for super-cleaning) - our room also “featured” a malfunctioning air conditioner and malfunctioning 'phone on the positive side, check-in was pretty painless.

"Freeport Inn stay"
donnat405, 05 Juillet 2021

My stays at the Freeport Inn Best Western are always great. This one has the added benefit of a 10% discount at the Muddy Rudder Restaurant next door and a very nice restaurant conveniently on the grounds of the in for breakfast.

"Terrible experience"
dabclement, 02 Juillet 2021

We were put in a building off premises that was old and had no amenities. There wasn't even an area to sit outside and relax. You had to get in the car to use the pool or sit outside. The building was old and very noisy. The TV turned on and off every time the refrigerator turned on and off.

"Excellent value"
nancyr765, 28 Juin 2021

They have re-done the rooms since my last stay, very nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful, let me have one of the rooms they hold back for emergencies. Would give 5 stars, but they need an elevator.

"good for the price"
Amanda L, 17 Mai 2021

The hot water wasn't working on the sink. there was a stain on the pillow and the room smelled like smoke. The room was cheap so I didn't expect much. Is good if you are on a budget. check in was quick and there was ample parking and a dumpster available.

"A little gem of a hotel"
Rob and Rosemar... S, 15 Mai 2021

Great location with easy access to both Freeport and Portland. Pay the extra few $$ to get a view....overlooking the river was an added bonus. The restaurant next door (The Muddy Rudder) was very convenient for a drink and dinner. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

"Freeport"
James G, 03 Mai 2021

A bit different from other Best Westerns I've stayed in but the room was clean and that's what mattered !! Found good places to eat and since Freeport is the home of LL Bean we took advantage of the outlet stores in the area !!!

"Disgusting"
Kelly C, 26 Avril 2021

CDC guidelines were NOT met in this room. Nothing was wiped down. The light switch had gross stuff stuck to it. When I wiped touchable surfaces with my bleach wipes they turned BROWN. This is not only gross but against the law at this point in time. I asked for a non smoking room and it reeked of smoke and had some cheap air freshener in to try and hide the smell. The tub leaked nonstop. Two people stayed for 2 nights, we had 1/2 roll of toilet paper and I didn't realize that until the middle of the night when I went to get the spare and found none. That morning I had to call the front desk TEN times to get someone to answer and it took 25 mins and a follow up call to get the TP delivered to my room.

"A good value for a weekend trip"
viet191292, 19 Avril 2021

The Best Western Freeport Inn is a good option if you plan to enjoy a nice weekend in this small town. The preferred view room have excellent view into the river. The location is a bit out of town but only bu 5 minutes, however its next to a nice diner and a good restaurant, as well as 5 minutes away from a nice ice cream shop as well. I think currently its undergoing renovation so the appearance can be a bit messy. Hopefully everything will be clean up soon. The room is perfectly clean. However the hallway needs some cleaning up as you can smell the carpet. Staffs are very friendly as well. Overall a very good value.

"Emergency stay"
Orlando420, 19 Avril 2021

So while traveling down back down south, I had an issue with the cooling system in my car. I had to pull over and make sure it can make it back home and I saw this cheap hotel. I pulled in and had an easy time checking in. Two guys stopped what they were doing and helped me. I only stayed a night but it was super quiet. I wish they had a bigger parking lot and more staff. I wish they had more food available. I loved the room themselves.

"NIGHTMARE IN FREEPORT AT BEST WESTERN"
TenaciousCmama, 15 Avril 2021

Don´t go anywhere where the manager says they don´t have housekeeping. I think first it is against the law not to have housekeeping, especially in a pandemic. Don´t go somewhere that the Lobby is out of someone's room? No door on refrigerator don´t put your food in it it will all freeze, watch out for moldy pillowcases. Don´t try and get any sleep on the first floor when people are jumping in the upstairs room. don´t have any coffee cause brown floaty stuff will come out of the coffeemaker. And don´t sit down and try and put your shoes on and look at the wall chances are there is something disgusting on the wall. and don´t look at the bed frame bottom it wasn´t meant to be black. Don´t go anywhere that has mold on the pillowcases and mattress bottom. I love Best western I HATED THAT ONE!!!!!!!!!

"Only price was right!"
Kathie C, 31 Mars 2021

Stayed here when we needed to stay overnight to pick up a new puppy in the area. Hotel is under construction so no usual amenities were available other than WiFi. Room decor was ugly, although everything looked new except shower floor which looked either worn or dirty. Staff were not very friendly or helpful, breakfast was Grab and Go in a bag since no facilities were available. Mattress very hard. Room rate was very reasonable, however.

"Service above and beyond"
andrewmS1944IA, 02 Janvier 2021

I'd give a 6th star if we could. We stayed with our infant prior to the provincial lock down and couldn't have felt safer. We also enjoyed a very comfortable stay. Further, we left our vehicle for an extended stay and when we realized we had locked our keys inside - the hotel went above and beyond to help us retrieve the keys (while we were still away). Kim, especially, was phenomenally helpful and always maintained a very pleasant attitude. Again, 6 stars if we could.

"Best western Freeport the place to go"
MatthewMecier39, 14 Novembre 2020

I had wonderful Time. The place is a great place to come and relax and close to the Freeport outlet mall and there is so Much to do the staff here was attentive to my needs. They provided a Healthy Breakfast. The Bad about this place is they are doing some Renovations Right Now But they are respectful of the Guests And dont start to early Over all this experience was well worth the money spent!!!!!!!

"Excellent Value"
moxh, 21 Septembre 2020

This was a nice hotel, conveniently located in a wonderful setting. They appear to be renovating the main lobby/office so check-in was just in a regular room. The room I had was on the first floor, and was quite nice. First floor rooms have a shared patio, if you're facing the right direction it's a recipe for watching a great sunset. The room itself was clean and modern. there was some normal wear-and-tear but overall it was pleasant. I also had some issues with the room, let the front office know, and by the time i had gotten gas and coffee nearby, it was all fixed. The staff is great and helpful. They appear to be adhering to COVID guidelines, sanitizing things, masks, etc. Don't come here expecting luxury, it's not. It's a cheap, clean, and pleasant place to stay with attentive staff. There are plenty of options in Freeport, I'm glad I chose this place.

"Great Valu/Helpful Staff"
wbarrows, 09 Septembre 2020

The common areas may be a little lacking in terms of amenities, but the rooms are well appointed and the hotel is very clean. Great value for your money, plus the hotel managers are very helpful and accommodating. I needed to arrange a delayed checkout so that my daughter could complete that day's remote schooling. The hotel managers were happy to accommodate and there was no extra charge. Another national chain in the area wanted to charge me half a day to stay over for 3 hours.

"Belittled and threatened by front desk"
KC0713, 05 Août 2020

If you want to stay someplace where the front desk person belittles you, this is the place for you. I made a reservation here when my power went out, as I've done for the past 5 years of living in Freeport. I've never had a problem before last night. I went to check in, the front desk only had a sign on it to go to room 102. Ok, I go off to find room 102 to check in. The man was sitting in silence outside the room and as I approach I asked him if he was the front desk person. When I asked to check in he told me I should have known better, that if I didn't have power they didn't either. Again, for the past 5 years we've been at this hotel when our power was out, so ok dude sure. Then when I said hotels usually have power, he goes “ok ok I have a lot I could say to you but I won't.” At this point it's a larger man, in the dark of night, who has access to my home address and personal information, saying that he could say something about me but wouldn't like some sort of veiled threat. I was uncomfortable to say the least and left. I will never stay here again and I encourage anyone who values being respected to stay far far away from this hotel.

"An okay stay"
539ethanb, 04 Août 2020

The hotel is great, and rooms are beautiful! They were apparently renovated a couple years ago, and are modern, clean, and up-to-date. However, two of the light switches in my room did not actually do anything, and there was a broken light in the bathroom that had not been fixed, and so was not working. Room was quiet and cozy, amazing bed! Unfortunately, the two very small pillows provided were not enough for me to sleep as comfortably as I would've liked. Staff are, for the most part, very friendly and accommodating (one staff member was rude to me). The outdoor pool is heated, and 9 feet deep. Very nice! Very affordable prices as well. I will return as soon as I can, it is a very comfortable place.

"Perfectly utilitarian"
1saabstory, 22 Juillet 2020

We were traveling with our pup, arriving late and leaving early and this place fit the bill. Dog friendly, budget friendly, and our room was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but for a quick turn where you don't require pampering, this will work fine.

"urine stain on bedding (smelled of urine too). Dirty, black floors. Nobody ever answered front desk"
laurenm822020, 21 Juillet 2020

The room was gross, the AC was not working properly which left the room always humid. There was a urine stain on the bedding (probably animal) but it still smelled of urine. The floor looked as tho it had never been mopped. I went out and bought my own mop just to make it thru the night. I planned to stay 3 night but checked out after the first.

"Issues"
SJBME, 13 Février 2020

I have stayed a few times, the internet is not good and limits bandwidth even when there is hardly anyone at the property and no daily service for the room...no house keeping. I've stayed several times and since I am in the area each week but no longer.

"Clean, comfortable, convenient, and inexpensive - simply perfect!"
Havatselet, 04 Février 2020

Like my title says: The rooms are spacious and clean with a Keurig coffee machine, microwave, and nice-sized refrigerator/freezer, the beds are comfortable, the location is convenient to many fun destinations (like Freeport shops and restaurants), you get a 10% discount at The Muddy Rudder (excellent restaurant!), and the rates are quite reasonable. This is my go-to place in this area.

"The Freeport Inn"
donnat405, 21 Décembre 2019

I enjoy breaking up my trip by staying at the Freeport Inn on my way to Connecticut and Rhode Island to visit my children. It's clean and convenient, also pet friendly. Recently they have offered a plus by giving a 10% discount if you dine at the Muddy Rudder which is right next door. They also have a restaurant that has a nice breakfast in a separate building next to the Inn.

"A pet friendly low cost few frills clean motel in an expensive area!"
Todd W, 25 Novembre 2019

A very pet friendly hotel that is very reasonably priced in the Freeport me area. The exterior may look a little run down but the rooms are all new and clean. We stayed with our dog and we're worried the pet rooms would smell bad and they did not! Because of the lack of carpets this would also be a great choice for cyclists touring the main coast!

"Dirty Room, Terrible Service & Disrespectful Staff"
Girlweekendgonebad, 13 Novembre 2019

BEWARE! I've been to this hotel a few years back and had a wonderful stay. When it was time to come back for a weekend with the girls, I suggested the Best Western in Freeport. To my dismay, I was very disappointed. I had called a couple weeks before our trip and reserved 3 rooms where we would be put next to each other. I was assured they would do their best to make this happen. Check-in is supposed to be at 3 pm. We arrived at approximately 3:30 and were told that our rooms still needed to be cleaned. We were also told that they couldn't accommodate our room requests to be together. We came back to the hotel about an hour later and saw the “cleaning” person literally go into the rooms for 5 minutes to clean. When we got into our room, it smelled. We had air freshener with us so we sprayed the room. Next, the duct was duck taped to the wall, and it suddenly fell down during the night and scared us. The next morning when taking a shower, the water was cold. The outlets in our bathroom didn't work either. Later that day, we had no TV service for the whole night and next day. The night person named Deb was extremely rude to us. We told her all our concerns and she said she didn't want to hear it since we were so upset. There were also dog that barked the entire stay. The next morning we were told to contact the General Manager with our complaints. I am so appalled at the treatment we received. I Plan on filing a complaint with corporate Best Western. It is a shame that people are treated so poorly when they are traveling and trust the hotel to take care of them.

"Not the usual experience"
ecpoteralski, 11 Novembre 2019

Check in was wonderful. We usually get a free upgrade but this was not available at this hotel. When questioned, I was told that I would get bonus points. No welcome gift was received. (Usually get a little something) We were told that all of the rooms were recently remodeled but the carpet in our room had a spot that was worn through to the actual floor. There was an odor that hinted of septic system but cleared up after opening door to outside for a bit. The first morning there was lukewarm shower water. We reported it and we never were told if it was resolved. The next morning the water temperature was better, but after I took my shower, my husband ran out of hot water and the temperature fluctuated between cold and lukewarm. There was a keurig in the room which was a plus along with pods. The lobby is a building onto itself which was a different set up to what we are used to. While this visit was not up to our usual expectations, we would stay here again.

"Amazing"
kholeyfield, 03 Novembre 2019

My husband and I had been traveling from Louisiana for about 4 days when we finally reached the Best Western in Freeport. I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but to be honest, it was the nicest hotel we stayed at out of any of them (Holiday Inns, Hilton, etc). The location was peaceful, the grounds were beautiful, the exterior had a nice country appeal, but the interiors were sleek and modern. The staff we dealt with were the nicest people. We loved it. :)

"Best Western Freeport"
ngardner408, 28 Octobre 2019

I stayed here with my two dogs. What a great place, clean large room. Perfect location for the pets, 1st floor with beautiful deck overlooking the property. The Freeport Cafe next door for a delicious breakfast and close to shopping. I highly recommend.

"Best Western in Freeport Maine during autumn leaf season"
LokeyRanch, 25 Octobre 2019

The location of this Best Western is right off Hwy 1 on the Maine coast. Nearby is the famous LL Bean flagship store (4 miles away) . Site of the "topside" building overlooks a beautiful bay.where the tides are obvious. Walking distance to the Muddy Rudder restaurant with wonderful fresh seafood and piano player. Excellent manager - laid back but efficient and caring. Good housekeeping staff - all male - friendly, courteous and with great senses of humour. We have stayed there several times and definitely include it in our plans when driving in Maine.

"Warning, the Inn's nose is pointing down"
Santiago1234567890, 22 Octobre 2019

Have been staying at the Freeport Inn for 19 years and in the past have been pleased with our accommodations. Unfortunately, our 3-day visit last week was an exception. Although the housekeeping staff was helpful and doing their best, there are so many problems they were overwhelmed. Our room was dirty, smelly and run down. And the ventilation system wasn't working properly—no heat! The gentleman at the front desk was made aware of these problems, but was less than responsive. Best Western, you may want to make a visit.

"Beautiful view but awful room"
mossy9876, 15 Octobre 2019

I needed a room last minute. I was very thankful that the Best Western in Freeport had a room available. When I got to the room, I thought the view of the river was beautiful but as I got to looking closer the room was not taken well care of. The sheets and comforters were stained. The tub (or something?) leaked all over the floor when I took a shower and the walls in the bathroom had water running down it. The fan was even on and did not seem to help with the moisture. At night it was stuffy and hot. I turned the air conditioning on and it did not help. There was no vending machine in the building we were in. What made it worse was he charged me over $300 for one night. I felt taken advantage of and the room was not nice.

"If you don't like it, you can leave!"
Alex R, 13 Octobre 2019

This is my first time at this Inn and I travel to Maine quite often and stay at various hotels. Staying at this hotel has been a disaster. I've ignored the filthy walls that are stained because it's only for one night. We came back to the room to watch television and we cannot change the channels so I called the front desk and ANN THE NIGHT AUDITOR told me that the remote controller may need new batteries or the TV may need to be reset. I asked her if someone could come to the room and help us reset the TV or bring us new batteries. She told me that she has NO BATTERIES and she was all by herself and I would have to go without the TV for the night. I told her that I would like to watch the TV because I paid for that in the room. She told me that if I didn't like it, I could leave and she will reimburse me. Please keep in mind that it is past midnight and I have my daughter with me and a three hour ride home. I decided to try to check in at another hotel so I called the front desk to inform them and she told me that she WONT be able to reimburse me now because I went through a third-party company. Now I'm all packed and I can't leave. She was complaining that she hasn't been here for four days and clearly expressed to me that she was a disgruntled employee. I told her that was not my concern, I just wanted to watch my TV. She was extremely rude but most of all lazy and unhelpful. She never once even tried to be proactive with a solution. I do not recommend this hotel at all. You might find yourself and your bags on the street!

"Great place to stay"
deb3258, 09 Octobre 2019

Great place to stay. It is up on a hillside with a beautiful view. My room was just wonderful. Huge tub and shower and the heat in the room was just right. No breakfast offers but a great place to eat breakfast within feet of the place. I would give it a ten

"Decent stay"
Travelsgirl93, 24 Septembre 2019

I stayed for one night on my way to Bar Harbor. I was put in the building that was down the road from the office and main building. It felt a little strange and was inconvenient for checking in and out. I was disappointed to find the building doesn't have an elevator. As I was nursing bruised ribs, it was no fun having to carry my stuff up a flight of stairs. The room was quiet and clean. The only negatives were poor lighting in the room and badly installed tiles near the door of the room. Someone needs to go back and redo that job. I recommend the Freeport Cafe for breakfast near the main building.

"Better than I thought"
Linda E, 21 Septembre 2019

The office was questionable and set the tone to me thinking this wasn't going to be a good room. But I was very surprised, it was so much better than I thought it could be. Because the office door was so stained I thought oh no the rooms are not going to be clean, first impressions....but the rooms are very nice, modern and clean.

"Great Stay, Great Price, Dog-Friendly!"
ssilverstein65, 21 Septembre 2019

Third time staying at this Best Western. Always a great experience. Hotel is been recently renovated, have a great Cafe in the parking lot oh, and they are dog friendly. Clean, great staff, and just a great stay all around.

"Dixie"
jbbischoff, 17 Septembre 2019

I had a room with a view! That's as far as it went! The room smelled of smoke and maybe dog! I had a double comforter on a king bed, and no washcloths! The bathroom was very small and no amenities! Really not a great stay.

"Freeport BW"
Joanne K, 15 Septembre 2019

We checked in with Ceneau who kindly gave us a room with a river view. Our room was clean and comfortable. We really like breakfast at the Freeport Cafe. Though it's not included it's really delicious. Thanks

"Needs Some Upgrades"
JimboJammer, 14 Septembre 2019

We stayed in the building next to the Muddy Rudder restaurant. You could tell they have tried to fix it up a little, but it was like they put lipstick on a pig. They need to put some effort in the building, then do the room Reno's. Will try another hotel in Freeport next time.

"Time for upgrades"
47briceb, 03 Septembre 2019

We stayed four nights at this property last week. This is a very mixed review as the property is well situated, has a great pool area, and the rooms are good. However the condition of the buildings and accessibility is terrible. Best Western could have a gem here but at present the upkeep of the property is well beneath what I expect of Best Western.

"Excellent "
311juliec, 03 Septembre 2019

Very nice hotel, Room was large, modern and comfortable with a beautiful view. Being Dog friendly was a plus. Will definitely come back if in your area again. Hotel close to Muddy Rudders which had great good and service. Town of Freeport is a short drive away along the US 1.

"Five minutes from outlet shopping"
James D, 23 Août 2019

Hotel is a three floor structure without an elevator. If you park behind the building on the hill, it offers easier access to the second and third floors. They do not offer a breakfast. Pets friendly, so if you have allergies to pets it probably is not the best place.

"Very Comfortable Stay"
mizmaven, 09 Août 2019

The facility is older but has been updated. The beds were very comfy with really nice sheets. Housekeeping was excellent and accommodating...the location is great for shopping and/or eating in Freeport or Portland

"Close to Freeport and Pet Friendly"
WallingfordNY, 08 Août 2019

Fine place to stay near shops in Freeport. We did not have breakfast at cafe, but menu looked good and it seems popular with locals. Nice dog walking area. We were on bottom floor and our neighbor above was noisy, but that was no fault of staff. We came close to calling front desk, but they finally quieted down. We would stay again.

"great as usual"
Martha C, 06 Août 2019

we stay here on our way from NJ to the north Maine woods. Great spoke makes the drive more bearable. We like the building next to the Muddy Ruddy resturant we look out over the meadow and you can walk to the resturant (10% discount with room key) or to Days Lobster Pond. we usually go to Days and get fried clams take out. Make sure you ask for an even number room to get the best view. 2nd floor you hear the poeple walking upstairs but it beats climbing a flight of stairs. The beds were not the most comfortable.

"we stayed here while visiting ll bean and jameson tavern"

property somewhat run down.our beds were great and the breakfast great pancakes and orange juice.on our 10 night visit and stays this is number 2 for value .our room was quiet parking was good.we normally find best westerns a step above super 8 or howard johnson motels and this property is.

"Mbf"
Maria F, 02 Août 2019

I will give the previous writers the roo.s were clean and updat6. However the buildings were in the worst shape!! Totally run down place. Why would Best Western even put their name on a ace like this! We had a room with a view...a swampy area with a boat yard in the backdrop. I would NOT recommend this place to a sophisticated traveler.

"Access to lodging difficult"
karenfarrell2018, 31 Juillet 2019

Nice place, rooms clean, decor fine. Issue with access to room - on top floor, no elevator made difficult to move in and out at beginning and end of stay. Hallways dark. Proximity to restaurant on property very good, food good as well.

"Great place to stay."
KSIrn, 22 Juillet 2019

Best place we stayed in a two week vacation. This was our second time staying in this hotel and we highly recommend it. Staff was outstanding and grounds as well as rooms are well maintained. Great place for having your pet with you as well.

"Wonderful experience."
Roberta S, 16 Juillet 2019

Stayed here kast year & it was perfect for us since we travel with our pet. Rooms are clean, with great amenities & well located for pet care. Staff are exceptionally friendly &helpful. Definitely recommend.

"Not like the photos"
Elizabeth W, 09 Juillet 2019

We routinely stay at Best Westerns and many of them are fantastic. We even stayed at this one years ago and I have good memories of it. However, it turns out that there are two locations, one close to the office and the other down the road. We ended up down the road and the building it dark, dated and run down. Not like the posted photos that convinced me to come here, which must be of the other building. I will attach some photos. Also, I hate to write this but there were long women's hairs in the sheets. It may have been from a housekeeper making up the bed— or someone slept in the sheets and they weren't changed. I assume the former, but my daughter was so grossed out that she is sleeping in a sleeping bag she brought for camp (it takes more than this to gross me out). Also, no free breakfast, which many other BWs have. A small point but for the same price as the others, it is worth noting.

"Good Place to Spend a Night"
mainemountainbear, 08 Juillet 2019

This inn was a pleasant surprise. Desk service was friendly and efficient. Free onsite parking was near the rooms. The room I had was perfectly clean. In-room amenities worked well: phone, mid-size flat TV, mini-fridge, microwave. In-room Keurig coffeemaker also worked fine. Bed was firm and pillows were soft, which made for perfect sleep. A convenient ice machine was down a hall. Location was just a short drive to Freeport's outlet shops. I'll probably stay here again.

"Should be five stars"
985jimh, 04 Juillet 2019

The sleeping part of the hotel is in a separate location than the dining part. Sleeping part is uphill from the dining part. No elevators (lifts) in sleeping parrt. Otherwise a five star place. Food was good and cooked to order.

"Nicely refurbished local hotel"
helmsman1, 04 Juillet 2019

Freeport Inn has recently been refurbished but still retains that small town inn feeling, not corporate style. Room was clean, beds very comfortable with nice linen. Bathrooms were nicely outfitted with plenty of quality towels. Will definitely stay here again.

"Very good for the money"
Murvil An Lucia M, 19 Juin 2019

This hotel is located a few miles south of Freeport but it has been remodeled and the room we had was in very good condition. The furniture looked pretty new and it had a flat screen tv mounted on the wall. The beds were comfortable and the shower had good pressure. There is no free breakfast with it but there is a cafe next door if you want to get breakfast before hitting the road. Most of the hotels in town are $150 and up so this one at around $80 you can still buy breakfast and spend less money.

"Terrific Hotel!"
638janef, 16 Juin 2019

We were pleasantly surprised that our large room had a river view. The check in process was easy and smooth. Our room was spacious and quiet and very clean. We will definitely choose this hotel the next time we are traveling to this area!

"Lovely Spot"
heathersA8671FG, 30 Mai 2019

We visited the Freeport Inn for our Victoria Day long weekend. The price was reasonable and availability was not an issue when we booked online. I had a bit of an internet glitch on my end when booking so ended up calling the hotel to confirm it was booked. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, assuring me that the reservation was received along with our request for ground level accommodations. Check-in upon arrival was extremely efficient and polite. The room was lovely and large, obviously had been recently renovated. The bathroom was big with a nice walk-in shower. The beds and pillows were very comfy. Overall great accommodations that I would recommend.

"Very nice stay"
RD03875, 25 Mai 2019

Check in was quick, friendly and easy. We had a King ADA room. Room was large and comfortable with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, large desk. Bathroom was a walk in shower, nice. Bed was comfortable as were the 5 pillows. Only drawback was the view of the interstate and a little noise from cars but it's convenient to Freeport Maine.

"Great stay at the Best Western Freeport Inn"
marathonmomof4gmaof3, 21 Mai 2019

Right off highway, 2 miles south of outlets. Nice quiet stay. Rooms are large as are the bathrooms. Two properties one where you check in and the other just down the road ( 1-2 minute drive). That one I heard has newly renovated rooms but I did not stay there so cannot verify. Overall great stay. Would recommend!

"Clean updated rooms"
Journey04699897137, 19 Avril 2019

The rooms were very Clean and updated the staff was very friendly and helpful. Exterior of the hotel looked a little bit dated but did not affect stay what so ever. Enjoyed my stay, would like to come back in warmer weather.

"FILTHY"
11111111111199999999, 09 Avril 2019

We have stayed here for years. The room was recently renovated. It is now more like a Motel 6. No carpet, no rugs and the ugliest furnishings known to man. Housekeeping had not touched the floors and there was dog food, dog hair and who knows what else left on the floor from the previous guest. We asked that someone come clean the floors before we would even consider staying. They did, took about a half hour for the whole process. The house keeper apologized and explained that they have not been furnished with a vacuum that handles bare floors. Unacceptable!! When we checked out the next morning I asked if any of this had been logged for management to see and nothing had been. You can't fix what you aren't told. It truly is no better than Motel 6's that we have stayed in. I doubt we will stay here again.

"Great New Look"
2015eastcoasters, 02 Avril 2019

We stayed here on our last night of vacation. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, comfortable beds & chairs, very modern & room was quiet. It had a microwave, fridge & restaurants close with great food. It is located close to the major highway, easy to find your way in and out.

"you get what you pay"
srgl0betr0tter, 27 Mars 2019

The check-in building is separate from the hotel itself (the photograph is misleading). A winding, uphill pvt road leads to the hotel, if you are staying on the 2nd/3rd flr like we did. Not sure how safe it is if it snows or icy. Going downhill at some pts its easy not to be able to see the road ahead clearly. For 1st floor, you have to drive to the parking lot behind the check-in building. The housekeeping is pathetic. We saw hair on the bathroom floors & chips of paint on the floor of the rooms & corridors. The sheets & bathroom otherwise was clean. We were happy to see wood floors, renovation must have being quite well done but maintenance is very poor. When it said, breakfast available, assumption is its complimentary or in house to buy but its a different establishment. The person at the check-in was helpful & pleasant.

"Quick stay"
Debayork, 24 Mars 2019

Very clean room, stylish decor, comfy bed, large tv. Friendly staff greets you and takes care of all your needs. I had a quick stay, but met a very nice couple who had been there over a month!! Nice location as well. Would defiantly stay again!!

I checked in and that process was super fast .I was a bit surprised at the layout of the hotel no elevators. The first night was ok the room was fairly clean stains on the wallpaper and hair in the shower, The 2nd night while we aere at the Boston Bruins game I got a call from the hotel telling me there was plumbing issues in our room and we would have to move when we returned at 1:30 AM.I lost my king room and put into one with 2 doubles not what I reserved. did receive a very small amount off of my bill should have been a free night,

"Ok... but"
yoga1962, 18 Février 2019

I realize it is a dog friendly hotel, that is great. I sometimes travel with my dog. However, the guest down the hall made a ruckus in the all in the middle of the night, bumping into the door and yelling at his dog and playing with a squeaky toy. Twice. The next morning I went out the door and there was dog feces and cigarette butts lining the walk. The custodial staff should have seen this as my husband was leaving, they were salting the walk. I called the desk in the evening when I arrived back, it was still there, told them and was told it would be cleaned up. The next morning---not early mind you, the dog feces was still there. There was also not adequate snow removal in the parking lot, ice in the lot and the upper parking lot was not in use, causing traffic congestion in the lower part of the parking area. Entering and exiting is ridiculous with the Cafe entrance and parking right there. There were not enough parking spaces to accommodate the guests. The fridge had no shelves, I didn't look in the microwave, the remote worked sometimes. The bed are old, top linen had coffee stains. Lukewarm water in the shower, which turned cold by the time I got out. I did like how the room was arranged.... for the price ok, but....

"Always a great choice"
Tourist180639, 12 Février 2019

This Best Western in Freeport is THE BEST. People are all so friendly and helpful, and it's right next door to he Muddy Rudder, one of the really excellent restaurants in the area. Convenient to all the Freeport attractions, yet quiet and calm as well.

"It's "Alright""
j732019, 09 Février 2019

This is another Best Western that needs to work on its maid service. The room was not clean. No breakfast like other Best Westerns. To me, that was a disappointment. The one point of credit this hotel is that it is very furbaby friendly which I wish more hotels would do.

"Great option!"
tedyasi, 28 Janvier 2019

I was looking for an affordable, comfortable option for a weekend stay in Freeport . I got exactly what I was looking for, it was clean, the hotel staff were extremely helpful, and it did not break the bank to get a couple of rooms for the weekend to attend a family gathering. This place is utilitarian, Not charming- and it worked perfectly for me.

"Efficient and clean."
Navigator28773415614, 24 Janvier 2019

Slipped in and out without a hitch. Clean room. Efficient registration and departure. Pleasant clerks. Convenient to meeting location. Breakfast next door was adequate. Internet reception was good but not fantastic. Would stay again if in the area. Great value.

"Great place to stay on way to Bar Harbor Maine"
cranred2017, 15 Janvier 2019

We first discovered the Freeport Inn when it was a local favorit for friends to stay while visiting, then LLcBean expanded and this sleeping town of real factory shops blew open and Brand Name stores took over days wh town and Freeport Became a shopping Mecca anchored by LL Bean, even McDonalds came to town. Freeport is still a great place to comune with nature and the Ocean(Atlantic), Freeport has good authentic New England cooking, real New England Atmosphere and shopping if you have time. Go have fun, stay at Freeport Inn, they have two great restaurants. We make a family trip to Freeport in off season unless we want to be pegged a tourist.

"Bring your ear plugs."
Kathykathykathykat, 02 Janvier 2019

My husband and I spent Christmas Eve/Early Christmas morning at this hotel. I would like to say that we spent a restful, peaceful night but it wasn't a very Merry Christmas for us. We trained and showed dogs for many years. We traveled extensively with our dogs. They were quiet in hotels. That is why we didn't mind taking them with us. We never inconvenienced fellow travelers. The dog that was in the room next to us at the Freeport Inn was stressed and it was not quiet. I felt bad for the dog. Every strange noise it would let out a “woof.” At 5am the woofs turned to barking. We were suppose to stay there two nights. We did not want to take the chance of the people with the dog staying another night or a new dog owning person moving into another room next to us. So we paid for a full night in that hotel and left. ☹️

"Good, clean accommodations"
mleonard2018, 16 Décembre 2018

Recently, I was on a business trip and needed accommodations in an area I don't normally stay. I found the Best Western online and it had a great rate and good reviews. I booked a room and wasn't disappointed...you won't be either.

"Worst Western"
Benjamin L, 12 Décembre 2018

I was in town for a conference. I knew things were probably off to a bad start, when the front desk person looked like they were tweaking pretty hard. If I am wrong and the young lady had a neurological disorder, then I am sorry. The room was on ground level, with the role out style windows. The window did not close to less than 6 inches, with no screen. I had to go to the woods and fashion so wedges to get it to stay closed to about the 1/2 inch mark. Old finger nails under the night stand. Also floors so tacky my socks kept being pulled off. Only reason I stayed and did not run for the hills, was a single young female co worker staying there as well, and no other rooms available in the area.

"Nice place to stay"
L9245KZsandraw, 09 Décembre 2018

Freeport Inn is not fancy but it's a good price and the rooms are clean. It's a good place to stay after a day of shopping The annex is a little older and the rooms are smaller than the main inn. They are clean and adequate.

"Would be willing to try it again "
MarieinFitchburg, 19 Novembre 2018

The hotel itself was great. Great location, easy to see as you approach. The front desk staff was awesome...very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Perfect, right? No. The one and only disaster was the group of drunk men who roamed the halls yelling all night, so the one thing we were there for - sleep - was not to be had. We finally had enough and called front desk. They said they would handle it if we figured out which room they were in, so my 71 year old husband was roaming the hall at 3:30 am to see if he could figure out what room they were in. Other than rude drunks, the hotel was perfect.

"Not good"
Cathy H, 15 Novembre 2018

I'm really not much of a traveler but I am a cleaner in the summers in BarHarbor.First time in the room and we see pine needles on the rug plus dust balls which I thought hmmok wasn't vacuumed very well. But then the clump of hair at the end of the bedding along with whatever was on the walls did it for me.

"Great room great price great location"
Bellax2016x, 13 Novembre 2018

We came here to shop and found this the perfect location. About 10 minutes into Freeport driving and an hour outside of kittery. Comfy bed, quiet location. Looks like they're doing some refurbs but we didn't hear a thing - even though we were the first door by the front door! Also had a lovely view over the mash which was nice to wake up to! I would recommend.

"Everything was perfect"
Sandy L, 12 Novembre 2018

To be honest, I was a little concerned about this place based on the very affordable rate they offer but was so pleasantly surprised. We have family in the area and usually make it a day trip from Massachusetts but will now more often make it an overnight trip because this place was clean, updated, comfortable, and included microwaves, coffeepots and a fridge and also was dog friendly. Didn't have a chance to go to the restaurant on the corner but look forward to checking it out the next time. We will be back!

"A touch of maine"
clean282, 09 Novembre 2018

Near Freeport shopping and restaurants but quiet with views. A well-run property. No elevator but two buildings so some easy access rooms. Plenty of restaurants nearby and all rooms have fridge and microwave. There are lots of interesting nature spots close by. LL Beàn and other outlets are just minutes up the road.

"Very Nice"
Morgan T, 06 Novembre 2018

It was a great place to stay for the weekend. Close to everything. A few minute ride to LLBean and 30 minute ride to the Maine Wildlife Park. Will stay again! I had gotten the senic room, it was a short drive down the street from the main hotel which was no issue.

"Convenient stay in Freeport, ME"
Frank M, 30 Octobre 2018

The Best Western Freeport Inn is an ideal accommodation for those wanting to stay in the Mid-coast area of ME. It is located conveniently on U.S. rt. 1 south of town. It has a very pleasant staff who welcomed warmly my visit with a prompt check-in. My room was on the 2nd level of the detached wing up on the hill. Nice and quiet, away from the highway. Also, this hotel is pet friendly, which I needed. Guaranteed cleanliness seen all around and comfortable night's sleep as well. Rates were reasonable too.

"Clean, comfy, close to everything in town"
994lynnl, 29 Octobre 2018

Roomy, clean, quiet, freshly updated, very comfortable bed. Our dog was with us so we had a pet-friendly room, but it was so well cleaned and maintained that you could not tell if any other pet had been there previously.. We've stayed here 5 or 6 times already, and it's always our first choice when we are near Freeport. P.S. the Freeport Cafe next door is reasonably priced and awesome food!

"Perfect!"
beanie-boo-88, 29 Octobre 2018

This place was perfect! The young girl at the desk at check in was extremely kind! The room was very clean, well put together and modern. I loved the touch of the little porch outside the room. Parking was close which was nice for bringing out things inside. I appreciate that they were pet friendly and welcoming to our puppy we were traveling with. Beds were great, showers were hot and the cafe on next to the hotel was delicious! We will definitely stay here again on our next adventure to Maine!

"Good for the money."
EllenZ121, 25 Octobre 2018

They have recently remodeled the rooms. They did a very nice job. Next door is a small restaurant that serves good food at fair prices. If there is one thing that xould be improved upon is the expansion on the parking areas. Tight fit in bothe lots.

"This hotel has a beautiful sitting unlike many others."
Jim T, 19 Octobre 2018

This hotel has a beautiful sitting unlike many others. It backs up to a forest and out the front side which sits on a hill is a beautiful view. The hotel upgrades and nicely done and I appreciate the floors being stone and not carpet. The bed was comfortably soft.

"Yes It Was Newly Renovated But.."
catskillperson, 19 Octobre 2018

I stayed for 2 nights. I had stayed there more than 10 years ago and it was fine. I did get a newly renovated room but I still would probably not stay there again. The halls were all black and blue and it felt like I was in a Halloween movie or I was going to get robbed. It was really scary and sort of depressing. The room also had dark walls that gave the same feeling. Does not look like a typical Best western. The work is on going and you can see that it is on a very low budget. They are trying but it isn't a new building and it still shows its age. They are trying and I give them credit for the effort.

"Good place to stay"
Phillip A, 16 Octobre 2018

Rooms are fresh and clean with coffee available in the public areas as well as in your room. There are limited choices for food but the bar and restaurant in the hotel are pleasant and offer decent for with good service. I would be very happy to stay again.

"It was OK but...."
wanderlust_3351, 15 Octobre 2018

It was a bit strange checking in. We pulled in the hotel driveway toward the main building and tried to figure out where to go. We finally saw a very small sign at an old house apart from the hotel. We parked on the side of it and when I walked up to the door I started to enter a storage room. I went around the corner to the front and found another door. The young man behind the counter was effecient and friendly. He told me that the restaurant next door was a good choice for breakfast. The actual hotel is back from the road in the woods. The exterior is fine. Our room was on the 2nd of the 3 floors. We were told to park in the rear. We went in the building to a staircase choice, up or down. The 2nd floor was down a half flight. We found our room at the far end. The room was fine. Hard floor. Everything was clean and comfortable. We didn't leave our floor so I have no idea if there was a lounging area downstairs. The next morning after my shower I looked for the hair dryer. I searched and searched. I even looked at the "amemenity" list, it wasn't mentioned so I assumed that they didn't supply them. I finaly gave up and improvised. As we were leaving there was a housekeeper in the hall. I asked her. She said that they are on the back of the bathroom door on a hook. I told her I didn't see one anywhere. She opened our door and looked. No hair dryer. She said that people take them all the time. I suggested that they get the kind that are attached to the wall. She said that they used to have them but people complained. I told her to make sure we weren't charged with taking the missing one from that room. We weren't.

"Our Maine Vacation"
Nancy T, 07 Octobre 2018

The Best Western Freeport Inn is a lovely hotel. There are two restaurants on the property. It overlooks a marsh where large sea birds could be seen. We were there the first week of October and the Autumn foliage was beautiful. It is a short distance from the town of Freeport, the home of LLBean. My husband and I day tripped to Mt. Washington in NH and Acadia National Park. The Inn's location makes many places in the area accessible.

"3-star? Yes, and I am a famous rock star"
UnclePen, 01 Octobre 2018

This place is fine, but it is not a 3 star hotel. It has a very awkward layout with the office down the hill from the rooms. The rooms are not particularly well-kept, with wall stains and splotchy paint jobs, and the rooms in general feel dated. The TV is big and offers DirectTV, so no complaints there. I think this is on par with an EconoLodge or Red Roof Inn, but certainly not a Hampton or Clarion.

"Very clean"
2muchtravel2013, 29 Septembre 2018

There are 2 properties very close to each other - the hilltop one is not as easy to find in the dark -you have to go in a restaurant parking lot, drive up a hill and the parking lot is dark. So if your travelling single ask to be at the main property. Also there is no elevator there. So you might have to carry bags up the stairs! I understand that it's only in the busy season the second property is open. We found that the noise really echoed from the hallway so you could hear others coming and going but it has a nice peaceful view and it's clean. There is no breakfast included which is unfortunate - I think they should give you something at the cafe that's located in their parking lot - surely coffee and a croissant or something. Maybe a discount to hotel guests.

"relaxing overnight stay"
reinhardfschmidt, 29 Septembre 2018

friendly staff, quiet room with two queen beds, clean and comfortable, nice view over marsh and muddy river. Breakfast is not included but nearby Cafee serves a good american breakfast. A good location for your Freeport shopping tour

"Great Potential"
Susiebell2, 27 Septembre 2018

The hotel is located right on the highway 1 and next to the interstate. We faced away from these roads and it was very quiet. We booked 7 months in advance and paid $10 extra to have a room on the marsh. They changed our rooms twice. There are no elevators, so it is a tough haul with luggage for seniors. There is a short walk to three places to eat, but it is all down hill. The walk back is a challenge! Checking in took a long time. They are in the process of remodeling the marsh building and construction trash is all around. Breakfast is NOT included! I tried to book a third room but the cost was over twice the amount of the early charge...so book early!

"Unexpected "
svh175, 24 Septembre 2018

Our newly renovated room was very nice, clean and comfortable which was unexpected. It's convenient to nice restaurants down the road and away from The mayhem of downtown Freeport. Plus the price is right with friendly staff. Nice addition to the usual hotel bedside table was a reading lamp.

"Good place"
stevemu46, 17 Septembre 2018

Two couples stayed one night in building behind restaurant. Refurbished room, very nice with king bed. Pleasant stay. Quiet as we were on back side of building.Thought very good value. Would definitely recommend based on our experience

"Not Best Western Standards"
Michael M, 16 Septembre 2018

The refrigerator was not working properly. The small freezer section was working but the rest of the refrigerator was not keeping anything cold. My wife told the front desk clerk and nothing was done. The food had to be thrown out. We stayed at rooms at least a quarter mile down the room from the lobby. You have to drive through a parking lot they share with the look bar/restaurant. This is not clearly marked. The decor in the hallways made it look like a horror show, that is brown doors and wood trim, dark color walls, dark carpet, and low lighting. You do not get the feeling of being safe at all. No continental breakfast, it seems they want you to use the local cafe that is next door. You can do better use the competition down the road.

"In serious need of ADA compliance!"
Tashamarie1987, 11 Septembre 2018

We just returned home from this resort. The staff was very nice and the facility was newly-redecorated and clean. I had requested both when booking and checking-in, an ADA compliant room. We were put in a building on a different property and assured that the first floor of that building was compliant. It was not. There was only one handicap parking space. The doors were not easily navigated with a walker, it would be impossible with a wheelchair. The bathroom was small and the tub only had one vertical bar; no horizontal bar to help out of the tub, small toilet area.

"Friendly, clean but thin walls"
Tina L, 31 Août 2018

We stopped here for one night en route, and we're pleased with the value for price which we have come to depend on from Best Western. The room was clean and the front desk friendly. (There are books left by travelers at the front desk that you can feel free to take/swap with.) Our kids enjoyed the outdoor pool which is about 3 feet at one end but went to 9 feet at the other end. Pool towels were provided at poolside which was handy. The only thing I didn't like was that the room walls were rather thin. We could hear people speaking and their TV next door rather clearly.

"Okay-ish"
Summercat2, 26 Août 2018

Stayed here for one night on family vacation to Maine. When I booked online, the place seemed nice enough. Odd set-up to access hotel rooms. Rooms have been refurbished and look nice, but the non-smoking room and and especially the sheets smelled like cigarette smoke.

"Keep your distance"
itsmemrtlo, 16 Août 2018

Upon checking into our first room we saw flies and gnats flying around in the main room and bathroom. Then we proceeded to see beetles on the ceiling and another bug crawling on the ground. My husband found that the window was open and did not have a handle so it could not be closed. This is a 1st floor room so safety for ourselves and our property was also a concern. After killing multiple bugs but continuously finding more we returned to the office to relay our concerns. They offered us another room which we gladly accepted. Upon entering the room my son noticed what appeared to be a small blood stain on the comforter. We pulled back the sheets where we then found multiple hairs on both beds in the room. It looked as though no one had changed the sheets from the previous guests. We went back to the front desk where they did not offer any apology but rather suggested we may be happier else where. They said they could not offer us a refund though because we booked online. We left anyway and went up the street to another hotel. The general manager at this hotel said he had 3 guests come in the past few days because of issues at this Best Western. It's a shame that someone obviously spent a lot of money renovating the hotel but because of simple cleanliness issues and staff concerns people won't come back. After we left we looked at some reviews on Trip Advisor and it appears our experience may be becoming the norm. Unfortunately, our great experience at the BW plus in Danvers,MA (where we stayed 4 nights earlier) is overshadowed by our poor experience here. We have never complained before but we just couldn't let this one slide by. We contacted the hotel directly and they offered us a discount on our next stay but not a refund even though we were only in the hotel for 20 min. We don't ever plan on returning to this hotel.

"Disappointed"
D L, 27 Juillet 2018

Not the best western I have been accustomed to. There with grandchildren and daughters rooms have a musty smell, carpet in hallway discusting,in room 209-211 cobwebs on ceiling in bathroom, but what can you expect when dogs are allowed.

"Just Okay"
Joshua P, 23 Juillet 2018

So this is not the same level as other Best Westerns I am use to. The rooms had recently been renovated but were missing some touches (I.e., what is up with the seventies globe light fixture). They were just finishing the trim in the hallway. The hallway was exceptionally dark. There is no elevator, breakfast and the pool was closed. I would have stayed elsewhere for the price.

"Clam Festival!!!"
Rowsdower2014, 23 Juillet 2018

Love this place! My family and I have been staying here for years. Since Best Western has gotten involved they have made it even nicer than years past. This year they were undergoing a renovation and our rooms were ready in time. There were some issues with some of the furnishings but nothing a call to the front desk didn't fix. Lilly at the front desk checked me in and helped with a reservation issue for my father. The staff was all friendly and accommodating. Located next to the Muddy Rudder restaurant and The Cafe, where good food is always served. Also just up th road from Days Take Out. My family and I will be back. Again and again and again and again.

"Wow"
brettploss, 22 Juillet 2018

It seems like a shed compared to other best western hotels. It also does not have an elevator and the hallways smell very peculiar... not sure what it is??? Once you walk into the rooms, they are like any hotel rooms you would find at a best western. Strange...

"Cheap finishes"
hafhap, 22 Juillet 2018

I thought the hotel had been recently renovated as the room numbers were paper taped to side of the wall. Renovations seemed incomplete-the handrails were unfinished and and much painting needed to be done. Also the finishes chosen were Very cheap finishes. The bathroom had a plastic insert and when you went to turn on the water in the shower- the whole insert pulls away from the wall. The shower also didn't drain- so by the end of a 5-minute shower- I was standing in my own dirty water. It was a lovely, cool night and we wanted to open our sliding door to let some cool air into the stale room and there was no screen!!! We had to keep the door closed so we did let moths and other bugs into the room. I would recommend finding another hotel.

"Stay away"
leblancjuly2018, 13 Juillet 2018

They don't understand meaning of reservation! Pool was out of service for weeks without any notification, room door access problems everyday during our stay, over 2 hour to fill Jacuzzi tub and cleanliness of room questionable. Only positive was friendliness of cleaning staff.

"OK"
M5989UXbrianm, 13 Juillet 2018

A nice hotel; nothing great but a pretty good value. This is an older hotel but rooms were recently remodeled and a pleasant surprise when we opened the door. Unlike many Best Western's there's no breakfast provided although there is a restaurant on property.

"Disappointing"
patskin2016, 10 Juillet 2018

Whereas the room itself was very comfortable and clean there were a few points that let this Inn down for me. 1) No lift and we were two floors up. Not easy carrying a suitcase upstairs. 2) No bug screen, which meant we were unable to open the door because of the bugs coming in. We were in the annex building overlooking the river and marshes. 3) No breakfast included in the quite high price of the room. 4) Room not ready at 5pm - check in from 3pm. 5) Door entry key card not working on second day which meant we had to drive to the main building reception area to get it rectified. Apparently we had only been registered for one night when we had booked for two. Best Western will not be my choice again, wish we'd gone to the Holiday Inn Express further up the road.

"Very clean and convenient"
Kristopher K, 03 Juillet 2018

This newly upgraded inn is conviently located to Eastern shore locations, restaurants, shopping and gas stations. The rooms are quiet, quaint and clean. It's within walking distance of the cafe' which is highly rated.

"Newly renovated"
jebocker, 29 Juin 2018

I booked this hotel not only for the price but the picture of the inn. The office is in a separate building and after checking in was told we would be in their building that was being renovated, not the building right next door to their office. The building we were in was about a mile south and actually in another township. The room was really nice and the renovation on our floor had just been completed the week before our stay. Unfortunately, the renovations did not include additional outlets for our phones and laptops. An elevator was not part of the renovations and breakfast was not included. We were happy with the hotel but we would think twice about staying at this Best Western if were are in the area in the future.

"Budget option near Freeport shopping."
michaelsC4577TZ, 22 Juin 2018

Somewhat disappointing. Room was ok, but a bit far from main office. Room was fine, but no elevator. These factors should have been disclosed at booking. Staff was friendly. Very convenient to shopping with good dining options close by.

"good place for my arrival day"
LAB2013, 21 Juin 2018

It needs a few minor repairs, but everything was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was good size. They had a work desk that fit under a fixed shelf - this was great since it gave a shelf to put all my things and still have a desk to work at, Genius! Good location - close to Portland but near grocery and hardware stores and close to the outlet shopping.

"Kind of a quaint place when you think of chain motels"
StonecreekArabians, 14 Juin 2018

Most people who have reviewed this place echo what I would have to say. Large room. Quiet. Depending on the side you either get a forest view or a water view. Nice front desk staff. Easy on and off freeways and highways. Close to LL Bean stores. Cafe on site. Comfortable beds, but once again a double room has double beds. Still odd to me. Good wifi and cable. Just overall a nice place to stay.

"Good value and excellent location"
paula d, 12 Juin 2018

I made reservations on the phone with a very nice person, and had an easy check with. Traveling with a friend and we each had a room, and were very happy with our accommodations. The person at the office gave us an excellent recommendation for our dinner destination in Freeport. The staff was really nice, and the location was so pretty. Very pet-friendly, too. We got an excellent breakfast at the café next door in the morning--REAL maple syrup on the pancakes!

"Clean, updated and quiet"
Linda M, 24 Mai 2018

Great staff, basic rooms recently updated - you can tell by the more than adequate places to recharge devices. Price was reasonable. No breakfast, but the Freeport Diner place adjoining the motel property was filled with locals.

"Unexpectedly nice"
markjville, 23 Mai 2018

As far as hotels rate, the staff feel like fellow humans. They greet and treat out of personal character, not as paid staff. The walking trails from the parking lot are a hidden gem. The only distraction was this website's silly requirement that this written review be min. 200 characters.

"Great Place for an Overnight Stop While Shopping!"
sgt_33, 19 Mai 2018

Great staff, beautiful king size room and conveniently located to everything in Freeport! Had a problem with the remote and they responded to the room immediately even though it was a weekend after 5!

"Very Nice, Reasonable, Beautiful Landscaping"
Chuck52310, 06 Mai 2018

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Our room was excellent: clean, big screen TV, Jacuzzi, reasonably priced. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. The hotel is very quiet as it sits back from the highway.

"Great Destination"
Laurie G, 17 Avril 2018

If you are looking for a great place to stay while in the Freeport area - this is it! We stay here every time we visit the area without hesitation. The rooms are well appointed, the internet coverage is great and the beds are extremely comfortable after a long day. Above excellent value!!

"L.L.Bean Bound"
jeep83too, 15 Avril 2018

This was a shopping/hiking trip hot showers, comfortable bedspet friendly hotel right down the street from the best outlet shopping. The cafe serves hot biscuits and of course L.L. Bean is open 24/365 days a year.

"Family Trip"
heidzz2018, 25 Mars 2018

We come from SW Harbor, ME & Cape Cod MA meet in Freeport to visit. Staff was great at accommodating our need for adjoining rooms. Everyone was pleasant, helpful. Have stayed 3 times now and will definitely stay again!

"Not up to standards "
PeterAConnecticut, 10 Mars 2018

Our experience could have been much better with a little management attention. Before we even got to our room, we identified a major security breach when the security door, which should have required a key card to gain entry, was unlock for the length of our stay making the entire facility available to anyone who wanted to gain access. Beyond that, a series of too many minor annoyances: a coffee maker (with K-cups) was provided but no coffee cups; cable TV stations that offered 4-5 ad channels (from prostate health to the right size bra to glittery jewelry to music offerings etc. etc.) for each broadcast channel; when an extra blanket was requested for our king size bed, only a queen size blanket was delivered. Just too many little things that overshadowed an otherwise acceptable stay.

"Great customer service, would highly recommend!"
Joshua B, 17 Janvier 2018

I actually didn't get a chance to stay here because my plane was cancelled, but I did have an opportunity to interact with the manager and front-desk employees. I booked the hotel through Hotels.com and had to cancel at the last minute, but the manager was really kind and didn't charge me a cancellation fee. This was a nice surprise and greatly appreciated. Will definitely stay here when I reschedule my trip to Maine.

"Best Western Freeport Inn"
jillt2018, 01 Janvier 2018

My husband and I went to Freeport with extended family and two dogs. Service here was wonderful and the amenities were perfect for family and pets. We will be back. The staff was more than helpful and the Freeport Cafe served an excellent breakfast.

"Staying in Freeport, ME"
Gio1951, 12 Décembre 2017

We like staying here away from downtown Freeport. We drive to downtown with stops along the way and there is plenty of free parking everywhere. The restaurant at the hotel has the best food, we do breakfast here every time we are in Freeport.

"In need of updates"
O8477QPloric, 04 Décembre 2017

This was our hotel of choice when we stayed in Freeport, ME each year for our annual Christmas shopping trip. The hotel rooms have not been updated or changed in that time. The carpet was torn, the wallpaper had stains and was patched with a piece that didn't match. The chair was old and saggy. Communication with the cleaning staff was not easy and my husband was not able to understand her question and we went without our room cleaned.

"Excellent Value"
indeau, 30 Novembre 2017

Stayed here years ago and it was comfortable then, but a complete refurbishing has been done and this hotel easily compares to hotels that charge 50% more!! Very impressed with the quality of the furnishings and the room cleanliness. Will definitely stay there again

"Good price, clean room, close to shops"
moneybin, 22 Novembre 2017

Quality experience, reasonable price. The room was clean and neat with the usual amenitie. No free breakfast but higher quality meals available at cafe next to hotel. Price very reasonable for Freeport. Only a few miles from LL Bean and outlets

"Great Place to Stay"
carolfV6558DJ, 22 Novembre 2017

If you want a well priced, clean and welcoming place to stay while in Freeport, this is a great option. We have been staying here for years and have always had a first-rate experience! The staff is friendly and helpful. Enjoy!

"Freeport Inn"
frannylou58, 15 Novembre 2017

Too many rooms have now been turned over to Pet friendly tourist leaving no rooms on the first level for seniors without pets. Even though our room was updated, the bathtub and surround was not and showed signs of wear.

"Perfect location, great value."
Lou T, 10 Novembre 2017

We have stayed in the Freeport Inn for the last 10 years we have visited Maine. The location is perfect for our day trips to Freeport and Portland. The value is excellent as they provide rates both with and without restaurant and dining coupons. We enjoy our breakfasts at the Freeport Cafe on property and have always been treated politely.

"Nice place BUT some things to keep in mind.."
peterz57, 08 Novembre 2017

I stayed at this hotel for business and it was acceptable... HOWEVER - If I was to vacation in the area it would not be here - My wife is handicapped and this place is FAR from handicapped friendly. FIRST the building that is open right now DOES NOT HAVE AN ELEVATOR and is a 3 story unit. 2) If you don't know that before arrival and you are assigned a room there TOO BAD for you seems to be the attitude. I had a muscle sprain and due to renovations there was only one building open. Now the parking lots are on two levels - on the upper level (which because it enters on the second floor (middle) it would not have been too bad BUT I was forced to park in the lower lot which meant a 3 floor walk up. Not very pleased with that. Will not be returning if it can be helped. But if your healthy its great - Elderly or handicapped - stay away.

"Great service"
Lorraine B, 05 Novembre 2017

We are reward diamond member and always stay at best western. The service is always great. It is always nice to receive point to get free nights. It make for a good trip with free rooms and free breakfast

"Enjoyed my Stay"
H5605TNcharlesp, 03 Novembre 2017

We stayed two nights, would like to have stayed longer to enjoy the area. The hotel has a quaintness about it and liked the way it overlooked the pool and fountain. Set out and enjoyed the scenery. Room was clean, no problems, plenty of hot water. The hotel does not have a restaurant on site, but within easy walking distance there is a cafe that is very good. We ate breakfast and dinner there. In fact they had some meatloaf left over from previous night and we got a couple hunks to take with us for sandwiches later - good treat. Pet friendly and would stay again as well as recommend.

"Very nice hotel"
floridabrian2017, 01 Novembre 2017

Comfortable room, although the steps into the property were a little inconvenient with baggage. Very pet friendly. The reception office is in a separate building, so access during rainstorms can be wet! Breakfast is not included, so you have to patronize the adjacent coffee shop.

"Great hotel"
lelaniu, 25 Octobre 2017

Love this hotel, location was perfect in a small town .Quaint and has a front view. It's perfect to relax and unwind. Price was good and affordable.I just wish that it would offer free breakfast, there's a café next door that serves great breakfast. The staff was great caring and helpful. Being a Best Western member I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"All the amenities."
Patricia L, 25 Octobre 2017

Our room had a fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker complete with coffee, creamer, sweetener, plus internet access. Our dogs were welcome and there was a great place to walk them in the woods. Double-paned windows totally muffled the traffic sounds from Rt. 1. We will return!

"Convience and Comfort!!"
Ali D, 25 Octobre 2017

The room was fantastic!! Comfy king size beds, huge in room refrigerator with a freezer and the wifi was excellent!! We ate breakfast at the onsite restaurant - soooo tasty!! Service was perfect!! We will be back!!

"Our stay @ Best Western Freeport"
MHP8473, 23 Octobre 2017

We stayed here on our last night of a 12 day trip to Maine. We selected this BW as we wanted to go to L L Bean and it was only 20 miles to the Portland airport. Our room had been updated and we found everything working properly, it was clean, quiet, and we got a good night's sleep on a comfortable bed. They are doing some repairs and remodeling but this did not interfere with our stay. They do not offer breakfast as there is a restaurant on the property that serves very good food. They offer wi-fi and there is a computer in the office that is available for your use if needed to run off boarding passes. They do not have an elevator so you will have to use the stairs.

"Not luxury but comfortable"
msds12, 20 Octobre 2017

This hotel is going thru renovations, what has been done is nice, the hallways and entrances are still in disrepair yet I think it will look nice when it is completed. The building is old so you're not going to get a luxury experience here yet if you want a good location at a reasonable price this may be for you. We stayed on the backside of property and it was so very quiet, the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Sits on a beautiful piece of property. Some stairs but manageable. Hotel clerk was polite and personable.

"Not the worst, but trying to be."
Jondeba, 13 Octobre 2017

Office is totally separate building from main hotel. Good luck trying to get extra cream for your coffee. You would have to drive to get it. Had to pull into back of main blg and up a steep hill to park and then go downstairs to get to the second floor, really weird. No elevator and having a bad hip, stairs were no fun. Manager on duty was very cordial and very apologetic about the renovations going on. Room was totally tile(no carpet) and floors were cold. Room A/C was dripping all over the desk and onto the floor. Had to put towels from bathroom down to keep it from spreading. No breakfast unless you went to their quaint little restaurant, which is very popular with the locals. Absolutely no place to put anything in the bathroom. Sink(tiny vanity), shower, and toilet is all you get. For the money we paid there was no value at all. Best Westerns are all separately owned and this owner needs to get his act together.

"Filthy facility administered by an inept front desk"
goinmobile68, 12 Octobre 2017

Where do I start? With the death march up through the hot muggy stairwell dragging all our belongings? The fact that everything, including the ice machine & door handle was covered with a very thick coating of drywall dust? Then open the room door & wake the neighbors-it sounds like a haunted house sound effect! The Halloween theme continues in the room where you are greeted with a huge infestation of flies. Trudge back down the hill, tell the desk that the room is full of flies. They know it & inform you that they have flies "when the sun is out" (Note-reserve for a cloudy day if you don't like flies!) Your first hour will be spent happily squashing insects-yea! Then you can take notes in the dust on the fixtures. I understand that things have to be fixed, but this kind of dirt doesn't appear overnight. The shower was so bad that my husband even refused to use it (moldy grout, and is that just fungus ringing the drain or is it black mold?) Not somewhere you want your feet! The next morning I spoke to an employee who inspected the room & reported it to the desk, because when we checked out we were told there would be an adjustment to the bill for our "inconveience". No, that would be if you would have offered us a chance to shower somewhere clean before we left for the day-this is "we just don't care"! The cherry on top....checkout. It wasn't until we got home & checked to see what the charge amounted to that we realized..this is not our receipt! It is for someone who stayed down the hall & contains his name, address, phone, loyalty number and the last 4 digits of his CREDIT CARD! Gee, I wonder where our info is? Can you say Equifax? This is unacceptable-these people made some mistakes, but did absolutely nothing to correct them. You've been warned!

"Needs Updated"
Steve W, 09 Octobre 2017

This hotel is being updated. Lots of new fixtures, but still lots that need repair and cleaned. The wallpaper they put in the bathrooms is very nice looking, but it also shows all the dirt that spatters. One side of hotel is scenic and the other side overlooks the parking lot which isn't so great. Ask for the front side.

"Great location, rooms need an update"
FranC-NJ, 29 Septembre 2017

I really liked the location of the hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable. The hotel has very nice grounds, a nice view, as well as a nice outdoor pool. Price for the room is great. We had a first floor room, which opened to a nice porch area. Loved the large flat screen TV, refrigerator, and microwave in the room. However, the room is badly in need of an update, particularly the bathroom.

"Convenient"
Terry D, 18 Septembre 2017

This hotel was convenient for our travel to Boston. I've always enjoyed staying at Best Western Hotels and this one was not a disappointment. Relatively close to downtown Freeport which is a plus as we wanted to shop.

"Quaint but efficient"
Edna K, 18 Septembre 2017

Well maintained older building tucked into a hillside. 3 floors, rooms facing west have views. Currently being updated. Commentary breakfast would be nice as well as having front desk occupy same bldg.

"Second Year Back"
rob24, 11 Septembre 2017

Return visit - this year, we stayed in the building closer to the check- in and cafe. We were on the 3rd floor - a small walk up 8 steps from the upper parking lot. Room was nicely updated. New furntiure, wallpaper, and a nice flat screen TV - very nice! Bathroom was roomy and also nicely updated with plenty of light, towels and bathroom toiletries. A great return visit - great value for the price!

"Stayed when looking for housing."
John M, 11 Septembre 2017

We were moving to the area for a new job contract. We needed a place to stay for 3 nights while doing an apartment search. This hotel was a convenient location for us. The front desk staff was so very helpful in placing us in a room where we could stay for the 3 nights with our dog. The room was nicely furnished, and very up to date. The common areas of the hotel are under renovation, but were still serviceable. The on site restaurant was great for breakfasts, and the food was always very good. I would stay here again, if the need arose.

"A great place to stay"
Donttravelenuf, 10 Septembre 2017

Stayed here 2 nights in early September. . It was a great location for getting to and from the interstate as well as for visiting the shops of Freeport . Check- in went quickly and smoothly. The lobby is kind of charming - not a cookie-cutter big chain look at all. And our room was very attractive and a nice size. Very up-to-date with laminate floors and stylish furniture and fixtures. The layout of the hotel is unusual but very do-able. Our room on the second floor only involved 8 steps up/down. The setting of the hotel is very nice with a pool and lots of trees . The on-site restaurant, Freeport Inn, serves delicious breakfasts. ( They also serve lunch and dinner, but we only ate breakfast there - both mornings.). The hotel personnel were very pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

"Good location"
CatChicago_IL, 10 Septembre 2017

The rooms were very nice. The hotel centrally located to Freeport shopping district and about 15+ minutes from Portland. there is a little café next door which was very good and convenient. price was very good.

"perfect place to stay"
Lynne R, 09 Septembre 2017

Wonderful clean, large room with a great porch to enjoy the view. This is a pet friendly place with lots of room for our pet to roam. Close to both Portland and Freeport. We stayed just one night but would have enjoyed more. Staff were friendly and helpful.

"Freeport Inn again rated a 10"
MainemanOhio, 07 Septembre 2017

Always a pleasure to stay here. The staff are helpful. The rooms are clean. The price is good. The breakfast at the diner is great Try the corned beef hash. It is homemade and excellent. We will be back.

"Fell from Best Western Plus"
Nellie F, 05 Septembre 2017

We knew it as the Best Western Plus because it was one level better than a Best Western. We now know why they lost that rating. Check in was a disaster as they couldn't find our keys. They put in the motel area 1/2 mile away even when we asked to stay in the main building. The room had the stench of moldy carpet. We switched rooms to a "better" room 1/2 mile away. True, it didn't have the stench of moldy carpet. Best Westerns are usually clean and comfortable; this is not. The one saving grace is the restaurant on the property called the Freeport Cafe. You get a discount to eat breakfast there and it's worth going to. Excellent pancakes and bottomless cups of coffee. Super friendly service too.

"Continental Breakfast"
W9923ROdianep, 01 Septembre 2017

The hotel is nice, but I always liked Best Western for the extra bonus of a continental breakfast. This location does NOT OFFER CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. This is important to me when I am travelling. There is a restaurant in the parking lot, but now this cost extra. So beware.

"Great Stay Just Outside Portland"
Jennie N, 30 Août 2017

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Freeport Inn! Our room looked like it was recently renovated (and very clean!!) and we had a great view of the water fountain. We felt very safe staying at this hotel. The outdoor pool was an added bonus. Having a fridge AND microwave in the room was another bonus! Don't forget to check out the café on site - they have really great breakfast and lunch options! We tried the lobster roll, and it was really fresh! I would definitely recommend staying here, and I'll be back if I'm ever in the Portland area again.

"Hard Mattresses!"
desertswim, 28 Août 2017

I picked this property because it's easy on and off the highway and near the Muddy Rudder. I was shopping, but it's not that far from the outlets. Prices are high in Freeport, and this was lower than in town. I was supposed to have a river view, but the vegetation has grown so high, you can't see it. I also thought that the premium rooms got breakfast, but you don't. There is a cafe on the property but it's not great. The rooms look nice, but the mattresses are hard as a brick. Too bad. The desk is very friendly. If you don't like dogs stay away; it's almost all pet-friendly rooms.

"no customer service"
Cafjwf, 28 Août 2017

Hello, When I went to check-in to this hotel on August 26, 2017 I was then told that the hotel did not have a room for me. I was attending my nephew's wedding in the state of Maine which is over 100 miles from my home. I was shocked that no one from the hotel called to notify me early. The hotel did relocate me to another hotel down the street. But I was not able to meet with my family members prior to the wedding at the same hotel. I was really disappointed in the Best Western customer service.

"Best Western Freeport"
rhondaw59, 25 Août 2017

Nicely remodeled interior rooms. Well decorated. New flat screen tv, stainless frig and microwave. New furniture. Carpet and wallpaper tastefully decorated. Cafe offered a wonderful breakfast...great prices. Nice pond with fountain and a swimming pool...

"Not a true handicap room, dated and dirty"
T4848XCmaryr, 24 Août 2017

I thought I was getting a handicap room for my 88 year old mother. The only accommodation was a bar in a regular tub shower. The bathroom was so small they had to cut a notch in the door to let it swing past the toilet. The room smelled bad and the carpet felt wet.

"peaceful"
Dave S, 22 Août 2017

this hotel is set up in a rural area and up on the top of a hill. The view driving up was very nice. the hotel looked almost new. the view from the room was also beautiful. Have the ability to sit out side of your room to enjoy the view if you are on the first floor. Also the pool is outside and also has a beautiful view while just relaxing by the water.

"Just a place to sleep"
Judy G, 15 Août 2017

Hotel was clean, doesn't offer any breakfast, just coffee & tea all day. Check in was painless, people were friendly, hotel doesnt offer much. Great location to downtown Freeport. Just a place to sleep.

"Decent value"
mglutz, 13 Août 2017

Hotel is a good location for vacationers in the mid coast of Maine just off I-295. Very dog friendly. Under going improvements and some renovations. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Twin beds in the room. Internet was slow - bandwidth throttled.

"Friendly, helpful staff, rooms leave something to be desired"
mjws2000, 08 Août 2017

On a recent business trip I stayed two nights at the Best Western. The room was in the back of the building on the third floor which required me to climb one flight of stairs due to the way the parking lot is situated. That was not a problem, but the odor in the hall and the room was very unnerving. The windows open, so it was easy enough to air the room out, and the weather allowed for the window to be opened. I was far enough from the ground that I felt safe with the window open all night. The second night there were rowdy people next door, who were smokers and smoked in the parking lot. Unfortunately, that meant that I had to close my window. The amenities in the room were fine, although the k cup maker made the worse cup of coffee I've ever had. As a rewards member I was entitled to free bottled water, however, the front desk didn't have any. They were courteous enough to give me money for the vending machine. I do not think I will stay there again. There is free wifi and it was strong throughout my stay, which was very helpful.

"There's good and not so good"
NanSea03, 06 Août 2017

First the good: room was clean, had a mini fridge/freezer, microwave, and K cup maker. Lots of towels, and there's a great restaurant on the property you can walk to. Out front is a sweet pond with a waterfall and some chairs to sit by it. The not so good: your view is either the freeway or a parking lot (we had the latter), the room or a/c smelled a bit musty, we heard dogs barking, the fridge buzzing, noisy a/c, and noisy people. Okay for a night... but we spent 3 nights there...nope.

"Vomit in hallway"
Tipitzz, 03 Août 2017

While the room was very modern and pleasant we were greeted with vomit in the hallway outside our room. When we notified management we were told that housekeeping would not address it until the next day. We were offered another room but that does not solve the issue that EVERYONE in that area would have to maneuver around the vomit. What kind of establishment handles a problem of that nature in that way?? Horrible. Pool was being worked on and not usable in July.

"The price is rihgt!"
18dianef, 31 Juillet 2017

I have stayed at the Best Western many times, formally know as The Freeport Inn. The price is right and the location is ok if you have transportation. My last experience was not a pleasant one. There was a spider in my bed, no big deal, just odd, and the carpets felt wet during my stay. Not to the fault of the business, but there was a lot of noise from the people above us. It was a ridiculous! amount of noise. My advice would be, stay on the upper level, stay in the new updated rooms and check your bed.

"Clean and easy to get to."
Q4184JAandyh, 30 Juillet 2017

We got in very late (after 2am), but the woman at the counter was very kind. Great hotel, very convenient to shops and the highway. Would absolutely stay again. The rooms were clean and cool with the summer heat.

"Great mattress and bathroom."
thomasmR1978CG, 25 Juillet 2017

Absolutely loved the mattress...unfortunately it was to big to sneak into our little car. Great bathroom sink - high enough for an adult. Desk staff was very helpful in getting our room. Liked the change of a wood-like tile on floor in room instead of the usual rug.

"Creepy!!!!"
947diannes, 24 Juillet 2017

This place stinks, literally. The front desk clerks at check in and check out were very nice. We didn't receive housekeeping services (our beds weren't made and we didn't get fresh towels). The hallways that led to our room were disgusting: dirty, stained carpet and the whole place reeked. I got up and dressed before 7:00 am to get some fresh air. I couldn't sleep because of the dirty musty smell. And it wasn't even cheap to stay there!

"Details"
Lisa J, 23 Juillet 2017

Room was clean and had high end fixture, just little details, rust in the tub and chipped sink basin. Staff was friendly just not informative. Breakfast was not included. My husband and sons breakfast was good. but mine was OK, eggs: over cooked w/shells in them. CORNED BEEF HASH was awsome. Please don't let this discourage from staying over all plesant experience.

"Attention to details"
Eli B, 23 Juillet 2017

We were there for a quick overnight. The room was renovated with high end finishings and nice, but it looks like in some areas they just didn't pay attention. Tub had rust in it, the bathroom sink was chipped. I thought breakfast was free in Best Westerns (NOT THIS ONE). Staff was nice just not informative, didn't mention my BWR level or offer an express check-out. Don't let me discourage you from staying, because I would stay again just little things I noticed.

"AAA++"
Terryncarrie2311, 21 Juillet 2017

The rooms are beautiful, clean and very modern. It's quiet, they have an outdoor pool and a place for your pets to run and relax. We have stayed there 3xs and love it. We will be staying there again. AAA++

"stay here every year"
SGG57, 19 Juillet 2017

We go to Nova Scotia every summer and stay at this hotel going up from NYS and going back. We like the top floor facing the hillside -- nice and quiet. Great breakfast at 6:00 AM and also delicious dinner at the Cafe. Extremely reasonably priced for Maine at the peak of the tourist season. We even have our favorite room which we requested. Look forward to being there soon!

"Pretty basic"
cctravelerCctx, 14 Juillet 2017

Kind of a run down hotel off the highway. Room had basic amenities but that's about it. Coffee where you checked in but that's about it. Thought I got a good deal through a 3rd party but really glad we didn't pay more for it. Hard beds and not a lot of personality.

"overnight stay"
sjwood, 10 Juillet 2017

First impressions wasnt great ..rug going up stairs ,old and dirty . Opening door room looked great, went into bathroom not sure if it had been totally clean .Around sink looked like it had been missed . Opened closet and found dirty towel inside !

"Great dog friendly hotel"
160dont, 07 Juillet 2017

We love this hotel. Everyone is dog friendly, the grounds are wonderful for our elderly dog to walk. We stay here every time we travel to Maine. The diner next door has the best blueberry muffins and oatmeal ever and is even open on holidays. It is close to ll bean but not so close that you have to deal with the noise and crowds. It is right on rte 1 and 295 so you can easily drive anywhere.

"It makes you choose at least 1 star..."
Mary B, 06 Juillet 2017

So the experience started off with Robert the friendly enough desk guy giving 2 different sets of people keys to the same room. Half way thru my aunt having a shower, a gentleman (another guest?) just swiped his card and let himself in the room... unnerving to say the least. Then upon turning back the covers to check the beds out before turning in for the night , we found that none of the sheets had been changed. There were several body hairs in all 3 beds (we rented 2 rooms) and bugs in 2 out of 3 beds. There was some sort of disgusting red stuff on the duvet of 1 bed... the hotel is disgusting. It's advertised as pet friendly, which is super, except I wouldn't even let my dog sleep there in fear of him bringing home one of the many bugs we also found in the king bed and the one double. Absolutely disgusting. The grounds are beautifully maintained but it's hiding the fact that they clearly do not take any pride in the conditions of the interior. The hallways were covered in grass and dirt, didn't look like it had been cleaned in weeks, the bathtubs had a thick filmy residue and ring around them , and the linen was disgraceful. I would not advise anyone to stay here. I wouldn't suggest this place to my enemies. They did however send us to the quality inn up the street at no additional charge, stating it had been a year since they had a bed bug issue reported, and they had nothing better than a disgusting room left in that hotel. Robert the desk guy was apologetic, however honest about the fact that they are short housekeepers which is really obvious as soon as you step foot inside. Like really, you's couldn't even change our bedding before checking us in? What a joke.

"Motorcycle Group Loves Best Western!"
Elizabeth Q, 02 Juillet 2017

Indian Valley HOG (Harley Owners Group) really liked this hotel! It looked newly renovated with really nice rooms and bathrooms. For motorcycle riders, it was great because there was a really nice restaurant called the Muddy Rudder within a short walk (5 minutes) and that meant no riding to dinner. So everybody could safely have a couple of drinks! Really nice staff and great hospitality!

"All good but the soundproofing!"
foxtail1, 26 Juin 2017

Mostly plusses for this hotel. The desk staff was friendly and the room was clean and nice. I appreciated the fridge with separate freezer. On the downside, we arrived at 9 PM and were on the second floor. The rear parking lot, which gave us the easiest access to the room (8 steps down), was full. The view out our window was the bumpers of the cars in the same parking lot. But, neither of these things bothered me too much. What did bother me was the noise that started shortly after 6 AM. I guess our upstairs neighbors started their day early, and we could hear every footfall. There was also very little soundproofing on the doors, as we could hear every sound in the hall outside our door. So, if you have a choice, go for a room on the third floor, maybe at the end farthest from the staircase.

"Wonderful stay."
sweetoe333, 26 Juin 2017

My family stayed four nights and in 2 different rooms. Both room were recently remodeled and extremely clean. We had a king and a double pet room. Nice flat screen TVs. Modern furnishings mini frig microwave. Hotel overlooks a nice view from the front. Easy and convenient off I95 and close enough to Freeport Village. Nearby is a great custard stand for you sweet cravings. Mainely Custard

"Truly awful"
bryancrawford54, 24 Juin 2017

We arrived and checked in o.k, but when we opened the door to the hotel corridor we knew this hotel was way past it's best, the carpet was very worn and dirty. On entering our room it didn't get much better as the walls were paper thin and the noise from above was unacceptable. There were children running along the corridor for long periods of time. There were hand written notices in the hotel to say it was being renovated but these notices seemed very old and water stained. I cannot recommend this hotel and advise anyone visiting Freeport to look elsewhere.

"The best place to stay with your pet!"
Saluda_Sue, 24 Juin 2017

My husband and I, and now my son and I have traveled to Best Western Freeport several times. Every time we have found it to be comfortable, beautiful gardens, pool and pond with a fountain. Lots of places to walk with the dog and quiet for sleeping. I'll be back many more times!

"A good value hotel"
MaineInnStay, 16 Juin 2017

Family of four with two young children. Checking in was quick and staff extremely friendly. Hotel Room was spotless. There was no carpet in the room which was a bonus as we suffer from allergies. Wifi was solid and rooms had DirectTV. The pool was nice, but a slight walking distance from the hotel. Unfortunately the windows in the odd numbered rooms on the 2nd floor are a little smaller than usual and face directly into the parking lot (Hotel is on a hill). It was a quiet lot but the view was a bunch of car grills. Recommend getting forward facing room. If the hotel can work out a deal to include Breakfast at the Cafe next door, that would be a huge bonus.

"Clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff"
994lynnl, 10 Juin 2017

We've stayed here twice and have already made reservations for another stay in 2018. We have two dogs with us, and appreciate the large outdoor area they can use. The dog-friendly rooms are in a separate building, which is well maintained and no different than the main building. And we always enjoy the excellent food and friendly service at the restaurant.

"Pet friendly, nice clean rooms"
RogerB2506, 08 Juin 2017

Great location off the highway so room was quiet. Dog friendly with a nice pet exercise area. Bed was comfortable, wifi worked well, and small refrigerator. Coffee was in room with an individual Keurig with decaf and creamers available in the office. Would definitely stay here again.

"Under Construction"
Karl E, 31 Mai 2017

Looks like they are doing a great job remodeling A fridge with a separate freeze which is awesome. Very nice design. Location can not be beat. Make the trip down the hill for breakfast!! There's a little playground as well which the kids enjoyed. Very scenic.

"Nice and Clean Spot"
Stephen L, 29 Mai 2017

The hotel is very convenient to Freeport Maine outlet shopping and a short drive to downtown Portland for strolling and dinner. Never a traffic issue and location is just off the main highway into town. If you do not mind a short drive of 20 minutes, you can save quite a bit by not staying downtown.

"Great value, nice place, no breakfast :("
Mary W, 28 Mai 2017

This was another last minute stay for us. The price is right for this place. Some of the room had been updated to modern decor and some was dated. It is disappointing that there is no breakfast included, but there was a cafe on the property. My one complaint about this hotel is that it is not really 100 % smoke free. We stayed on the first floor. To get to our room you had to walk down the porch past other rooms. Every time we came or left or went out to the car we had to walk through the smoke of our neighbors who were sitting outside on the porch smoking. I feel like if it's "smoke free" then people should not be allowed to smoke on the porch. Other than that, no complaints, it's a nice place for a good price.

"Very nice visit!!"
443jeannem, 26 Mai 2017

My husband and I rarely stay at motels and don't really like them. However because of our grandson 's graduation we needed to use a motel. We were very satisfied with the Best Western in Freeport. It was clean, the bedding was freshly washed, the location was gone, and we enjoyed the next door Cafe. We would stay there again. The staff was helpful, also.

"Absolutely perfect for weary travelors - beautiful room"
Deb T, 16 Mai 2017

We were very tired after a full day of travel so we were glad to get here. It was easy to get to from the exit. The desk clerk was a delight. We loved the room decor. The bed was super comfy. It was quiet. Not really sure what else we could ask for at such a reasonable cost.

"Not a good choice"

The room was clean but there is no carpet. The staff was pleasant. I was told the rooms on the first floor were for guest without pets. (It's advertised as a pet friendly property). We were there for six nights with our service dog. Everyone we saw from the first floor had a dog! There were many issues with this property. The office is located in a separate building. Not all exterior doors lock. There are stairs to get to any of the rooms. This made getting luggage to your room a hassle. One staircase does not have hand rails. Internet connection was terrible. When the front desk was called one night at 11:00 p.m. due to excessive noice, there was no answer! Best Western needs to let people know more about this property before booking a room.

"great experience"
FernandaGRios, 17 Avril 2017

Great hotel: big room, everything was working, free internet and parking. Great location near Portland if you are traveling by car. I do recommend this hotel. On of the best best western I've ever been.

"Best rooms!"
Z4722NZpatricial, 08 Avril 2017

An excellent value for price with great restaurant and also a small family diner all within easy walking distance. Room decor and furnishing were best of any similar motel establishment. Great desk and reading facilities in the room and bed was very comfortable.

"Quaint Hotel"
Dcb682, 26 Mars 2017

Utilized Hotwire to book this place for 31.00 wow was I impressed! Upon entering the lobby I was greeted by a very polite young man. He gave welcomed me told me when the restaurant would be open. My room wasn't ready at the time for check in so he recommended me to head over to free port LL bean area and he would call me when it ready. But he did give me the key to the room so I could go right back to my room.He called me 30 mins later. I am glad I waited the room was immaculate! Smelled clean and fresh! The housekeeping women was very polite too. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was amazing too. Updated rooms with new t.vs and fast wifi. The rooms are spacious too. I would definitely stay here again.

"Great Value for Money!!!"
Martha G, 18 Mars 2017

I was a little nervous coming to the Freeport Inn during an off-season trip to the area because the reviews were inconsistent. PLUS, I could get the room for $44! I have to say this hotel was excellent - no it is not the Ritz Carlton, but our room was recently renovated and definitely on par with a Hampton Inn or Marriott Courtyard. It is 8 minutes away from downtown Freeport/LL Bean, etc. The beds were comfortable, the room was tidy and the clean. Our room had a Keurig coffee maker, microwave and good sized refrigerator (not the six pack size for college dorms). The staff was pleasant. The towels were nice and fluffy, but a little small. It had typical amenities like shampoo/soap and hairdryer. The hotel does not serve food, but the "Freeport Cafe" basically on the same property, but independently owned, is pretty much the best breakfast place in Freeport according to Yelp! NOTE: this hotel does NOT have an elevator so you must be able to walk up a minimum of 8 stairs.

"Friendly Staff"
JamesC2332, 12 Mars 2017

Hotel was great - however it does not provide a breakfast program. The rooms were quiet - the hotel does not have an elevator which might be a problem with someone with a mobility issue. We would go back

"Very Disappointed"
Kittygirl63, 22 Février 2017

We stayed at this hotel on our way home last week. Checking in was very effiecient and the girl was very mannerly. When we got to our room we were horrified. There was hair in the bath tub on the bathroom floor on the bathroom counter, inside the closet was not vacuumed for a while it looked like. the mirror doors on the closet were filthy, the whole bathroom was filthy. and to top things off our bed had sheets with stains on them. I called the office and she said she would get the housekeeper to clean the room again. When he arrived he did clean the bathroom again but that was all he did. He left the closet. the bedsheets and the bathroom was still littered with hair on the counter. We were not happy campers at all. My husband put a blanket over the stained sheet so we could at least try and get some sleep before we made the journey home the next day. Neither one of us slept well and felt like we needed to boil ourselves to feel clean the next day. We will NOT be staying here again.

"Request property adjacent to office"
Deborah H, 21 Novembre 2016

Be aware that the hotel has two properties. When I booked thought it was the main property. It appears reviewers are generally quite satisfied with the adjacent property. We were given a room in the second property in which the entry carpet area had been recently shampooed and was soaking wet resulting in wet feet upon removal of our shoes. We did not request another room as it was late and we were offsite of the office. We did however bring the concern to the staffs attention upon departure and they were very indifferent.

"Very Satisfied Stay"
713cliffordc, 20 Novembre 2016

Nice room for the price. Very clean. Only issue with the room we had was the bathroom was extremely tight, especially the sink area. Both check-in and checkout staff were very accommodating and pleasant. Definitely will stay there again.

"Several problems."
germanypa, 17 Novembre 2016

We checked in and then drove down the road to the building. Room was on 3rd floor with no elevator. Not a problem. We entered the room, which was dark, and then realized there was luggage in the room. Left immediately. My husband drove back to the office while I stayed on 3rd floor. Didn't want to walk down in case our new room was on that floor. For our new room, we had to go down 3 floors, go outside, down some steep steps. Opened the door and the carpet had not been vacuumed. And the Internet barely worked. Would not stay there again. Too many problems.

"Wonderful stay"
Susan H, 02 Novembre 2016

I am a repeat guest with this hotel: it is super clean, comfortable, quiet, convenient in every way. The small cafe is a great bonus. I also often travel with two dogs: this hotel is pet friendly, with reasonable rates … and keeps the pet reserved rooms incredibly clean, and comfortable …. an increasingly rare set of services. The large grounds are perfect for easy walks.

"Pet friendly! People friendly!"
moosieme, 01 Novembre 2016

We drive 800 miles to our seasonal place twice/year, with three cats. Although the Freeport inn is not midway, especially on our return trip, we almost always stop here. They are pet friendly, and somewhat renovated since we first found them, easy access off rte 1, and perfectly comfortable, tho not a "luxury" facility. Never noticed evidence...smells, fleas...of other pets. With three pets, there is always the issue of being charged some king of triple rate, but these guys don't, and are always great to deal with. What's more, the wonderful muddy rudder restaurant is just down the road, and they will deliver to guests.

"Delightful surprise!"
SandyRiver, 17 Octobre 2016

What a nice surprise – although the hallway had a bit of a chemical smell, the room was recently redecorated with a calming palette of white and shades of gray – excellent lighting with abundant electrical outlets. Ample storage space in drawers and a good sized closet. Minor area for improvement – LED bulbs throughout a good choice environmentally, but would be preferable to get those with a less harsh light color. Overall, an excellent experience.

"Excellent Stay"
N P, 17 Octobre 2016

We love staying at the Best Western Freeport Inn in Maine. It is so quiet yet a short drive to Freeport. There are two restaurants there both the Café that is part of the Inn and the Muddy Rudder that are both our favorites.

"Pleasant Relaxation"
Patricia B, 15 Octobre 2016

We traveled this day to have an annual reunion with former neighbors that we have been doing for many years. We meet at a location that is agreeable to all four couples, have a lunch and catchup chatter and then spate and do our own thing. We, being pleased at our last visit decided to stay overnight and chill out to end a perfect day.

"Great pet friendly hotel"
Charlotte F, 11 Octobre 2016

This hotel does everything they can to accommodate you and your dog. Excellent walking area for you and your dog. The convenience of bringing our dog and yet so handy the outlet shopping area was the best feature for our trip.

"North East Trip"
Paul S, 10 Octobre 2016

Staying at this hotel was a good experience. The rooms had a refreshing modern look. The poll and grounds were visually a pleasant sight. The adjoining restaurant was a very good breakfast place to eat- one of the best breakfast value I've had in a long time. The person at the front desk came up to our rooms to help with an internet hookup problem.

"Interesting Accessible room"
Eileen B, 01 Octobre 2016

Was in an accessible room, but it still has a tub so, no roll in shower and a very tight area for the sink. There is a plastic chair for the tub and sink so, that's a plus. Just be sure you aren't wheelchair bound if thinking of this hotel - at least room 221.

"Ups and Downs"
AllStarMP, 29 Septembre 2016

Check in was fast and friendly. The property is a bit odd, its 2 different buildings that are fairly separated. We were in the building about 1/4 mile from the main building. Room was clean, bed and pillows are not very comfortable. Shower/bathroom was clean, wifi was reliable.

"Freeport stopover"
John S, 28 Septembre 2016

Pleasant motel experience. Checked in early, prompt checking (delicious cookies), clean room, very well appointed with most everything a weary road traveler could need. Super comfortable bed provided a pleasant nights rest, with a super diner on premise for an early start the next day.

"Strange hotel--unclean but great view"
Maxwell P, 27 Septembre 2016

So, some of the counters in my room had not been cleaned and an old towel from a prior guest hung from the back of the bathroom door, so it could only be seen from the inside with the door closed, which I guess is why they missed it... The hotel has a weird set up where you check in at one spot, and then drive about 200 yards down the highway then up a hill to the kind of run-down location where they have installed the rooms in a sort of "1985-i-don't-know-if-this-economy-in-Maine-Is-Ever-Going-To-Make-It" manner--it appears that at one time they had installed balconies off the back--the balconies are gone now, but the door is still a big sliding glass door--with a wooden ballustrade keeping guests from falling off the roof...the GREAT THING about this hotel, if you get a room on the back side of the barn-like structure--is that you can see down past the woods and along an old tidal marsh--and it is the finest view in this class of hotel that i have ever seen...the AC works really well, the internet is slow, (i used my cell phone hook up instead) and the window, as i mentioned--is humoungous---so i liked it a lot despite the uncleanliness...(which is usually a deal-breaker for me) Hallway smells musty, carpets dirty...I just had to give it the 3 stars cuz of the view--otherwise because it was so dirty it would have gotten only 1.

"wouldn't reccomend"
Pudge B, 26 Septembre 2016

room mix up to begin with(no room for one party), had to stay together for one night. Mold on the bathroom ceiling,no working fan in bathroom. Stayed for a week never had sheets replaced. wouldn't stay again.

"Convenient, just oj"
dreamtrvel2016, 26 Septembre 2016

Stayed in separate building by the pool. The rooms are ok, the hall smelled musty, needs new carpeting. The pool was nice, clean. I wouldn't stay there again, unless I needed the outdoor pool. The renovation in progress signs have been up for awhile, they need to finish up. This building is noisy, you can hear walking people upstairs.s

"Never in Freeport again."
Johanna D, 19 Septembre 2016

Place was dirty, not happy at all. AC dirty, rugs in room extremely soiled, waited way too long for another room, customers put in the dirty room after we departed, place was not well kept, bathroom had peeling paper, obvious past water damage, toilet ran over when you flush, bulbs out. Never again in Freeport, will I stay at the Best Western.

"Good Value Give it a try"
David M, 19 Septembre 2016

The Best Western may not be the newest property on the block but it was clean, well run and an exceptional value. The bed was better than I experienced in much higher priced hotels. The complete internet and Directv service was great.

"Wonderful View"
rob24, 18 Septembre 2016

First, this hotel has an unusual layout. The main registration office and first building are in one location. The second building (where we stayed) was about a quarter mile away (you had to drive and turn into the Muddy Rudder restaurant to access the driveway to the second building). We were on the first floor of that distant building, and it was clean, quiet, and had a nice view of the river. The room was spacious and clean, and had a mini fridge and Keurig machine. The sink was separate from the bathroom which was small but had enough room to function. They also had a nice soap and shampoo. The room had nice double doors/windows overlooking the river, but also had drapes to cover them up. Only drawback was walking down a flight of outdoor stairs to get to the room.

"A uncomplicated stop"
Gerardine W, 12 Septembre 2016

For $100 a night we had a newly renovated room with fast checkin and easy access to Freeport. They are still renovating so the hallway carpet smells of smoke but soon will be replaced. We travel this route and sometimes stay in fancy boutique hotels, but for an evening rest and back on the road in the morning this place works. You have a refrigerator in the room & can be on the road quickly in the AM. Also they allow dogs.

"great value"
Cynthia L, 12 Septembre 2016

My stay was very enjoyable. The room was extremely clean, the bed very comfortable and the view lovely. Finding a microwave in the room, along with a refrigerator with a separate freezer was like hitting the jackpot! The bathroom was impeccably maintained, no mildew anywhere in the shower, and adequately stocked with basic toiletries. The hotel was undergoing obviously needed renovations in the stairwell areas, but it was still much nicer than many places I've stayed in that price range. The only area that I found needing improvement is the rear parking lot to service the 2nd and 3rd floors, which was a bit small and tending to get parked up. However, there was ample parking when I pulled my car around to load it upon departure. Overall, this was a very minor inconvenience.

"Nice Reno"
catem, 11 Septembre 2016

We were fortunate to get one of the recently renovated rooms. Bed was comfortable, bathroom had plenty of room. There was a refrigerator and a microwave, which we appreciated. Staff was pleasant. The only downside was that the window in our room was at sidewalk level so we had to keep the curtains closed, so beware of the odd-numbered rooms on the 2nd floor of the hillside building. We were only there for one night, so we could live with it.

"Strange set up"
w_ma_lady, 11 Septembre 2016

When I got there with hubs, it was early evening. Person at the front desk was very nice. We were given a map and directions to our room in another building. Well, the other building was out of the parking lot and around the side of a restaurant and up the hill. I did not like that. The pool is in the other building. So we just went to the room and stayed there. No continental breakfast. There was a different restaurant on site. The room was nice.

"Very Nice Room"
Raymond L, 10 Septembre 2016

The room had just been updated and was very comfortable. It was obvious a lot of effort was put into the update. The staff was very accommodating and professional. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Freeport. The room rate was also very good.

"The worst place I've ever stayed"
lrbreen14, 08 Septembre 2016

I don't even know where to start with this place. My husband and I only booked here because it was the only option available to us through our Aeroplan points (an issue to be taken up with them); we have travelled extensively through Europe and USA and the other reviews of this hotel would have sent us running. However, we have stayed at several Best Western Plus hotels in Canada so we continued with the booking, assuming they all have the same standard. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! I should have braced myself when I emailed them several weeks before requesting a renovated room only to get no response - immediately not impressive. The property is stupidly split into two hotels that are not close together - you have to drive to the second hotel where we stayed after checking in, which brings a whole set of annoyances listed in several of the other reviews. This building couldn't possibly have been updated since it was built - it is in dire need of a wrecking ball. The room was musty and the decor ancient and totally incompatible with the needs of today's guests. The microwave in the room didn't work nor did the outet in the vanity where you are supposed to plug in the in-room hair dryer; glad I brought my own anyway. Getting access to the limited outlets, however, in the room was kinda hard when they are located behind beds and furniture. The beds are clearly old - yuck, yuck, yuck!! - and not very comfortable. The most annoying thing about this room is definitely the idiotic and downright stupid design of the bathroom - the sink is located in the main room of the hotel so when you get up at 3am to relieve yourself you disturb your spouse by having to wash your hands. The 'bathroom' is barely big enough to turn around in and that is not an exaggeration - the bathroom door slightly touches the toilet when you open it. But there is competion for the best idiotic and stupid design from the front door - it is double-doored wall-to-wall glass, concealed by a ugly curtain which makes getting in and out of the room diffiicult if you value privacy. What kind of hotel has the door to their guest rooms all glass so anyone walking by can look in and appraise anything you have inside? Stupid, stupid, stupid. The marshland outside the property is more like a swamp and littered with mosquitoes. There really is nothing good about this property; if you have any standards at all, avoid this place like plague. It is an absolute dump. In comparison to the other hotels in the area, which all look nicer, it isn't the cheapest, which, frankly, blows my mind. It should be at least half the cost of everything else. Best Western is devaluing their brand by being affiliated with this sty.

"Great stay here!"
Krys G, 07 Septembre 2016

After a long day of shopping in Freeport we found this hotel last minute on a busy holiday weekend. They matched the rate to another hotel over the phone. The check in staff was super friendly and helpful and gave us freshly baked cookies. We stayed on the third floor in a beautifully renovated room. Everything was new and fresh. We loved sleeping with the window open since the room was facing a forest. It was so peaceful and smelled so fresh. There was a small fridge in the room with a freezer. A Keurig coffee maker was a nice treat in the morning. The King bed was very comfy and the bedding was nice. We bring our own pillows when we travel but the ones they had seemed good. There is also an outdoor pool I noticed walking distance from the hotel and a café next door for breakfast. Lots of parking and seemed safe.

"Want some surprises.. you'll get them"
gpizzy, 04 Septembre 2016

We arrived to learn our room was located on the third floor with no elevator. The desk clerk offered to help with luggage and told us to follow him. He got into a car a drove off the property down the road to another building. As he was trying to carry two large bags up the stairs he almost fell backwards. When the door opened we were greeted by a musty smell and air condition off. We were told we could get a de-humidifier but refused it. When we opened the slider we found no balcony but did find mosquitoes. We were tired and decided not to attempt to fix everything and most likely relocate. This property is very poorly operated and managed. Would suggest looking elsewhere. This property is over priced period.

"Worst motel I've ever been"
Vladimir G, 01 Septembre 2016

Dirty, with fleas and spiders. Good if you are Indiana Jones, otherwise choose a different place. I wake up with at least 15 bites of insects, and leave the room at 5:00 AM tired of be bited. Worst motel I've ever been. Take a look at the picture of the guest we meet in our room.

"Vacation in Maine"
Pamela G, 25 Août 2016

The room was very comfortable and clean. There is no breakfast offered which would be nice also we were two couples pulling trailers , altho we made the parking work it could have been a lot of trouble but we were early and able to park ok

"Enroute to Canada"
T6892SUrobertb, 19 Août 2016

We stayed here overnight while traveling to Canada. Our room was in the building apart from the main office/building so had to drive back down the road to get to it. The room was old and in need of remodeling/upgrades although all basic services provided. Hotel is pet friendly but wound up walking my dog in a dark area not lit by the few parking lights available. Breakfast was not included in room rate so had to visit nearby restaurant for food. Parking available. We wouldn't stay here again.

"Family getaway"
Nilda D, 18 Août 2016

I could say we were not very impressed right from the get go. We come to find out at check in time our room is at an annex building down the road away from the main building. Three floors up no elevator. No pool. The room is clean but very dated the beds ok, two full size not very big and no microwave . The ground are nothing to look at. You really don't feel like spending time here. I'd say if you were just looking to crash and get some sleep it would do.

"Getaway for shopping"
User, 17 Août 2016

Hotel is a bit awkward as it is divided into different buildings. Upon arrival they had to give us directions to where we would stay. Building was very hidden. Rooms show their age, they need a make over. Other than that it seemed like a good hotel.

"Comfrtable & pleasant."
James L, 17 Août 2016

It was rather unusual to have the Inn in two separate locations but it was very comfortable and the staff was so friendly. Even house keeping was very nice. They greeted us each day as we were on our way out for the day. Registration staff would so very accommodating with giving s directions, places to see and short cuts to our destination . Would stay there again!

"Nice place"
cookmoe7, 17 Août 2016

Stayed here three years in a row, nice clean facility and cafe close by to walk to for breakfast. Close to Freeport outlets too!! Also nice pool for swimming and they provide the towels.good place for a family or couple to stay.,also pets are welcome.

"Nice Best Western"
RedBippy, 15 Août 2016

Short drive into Freeport. Friendly staff. Price comparable for area. Had room in the hillside?(separate) building with semi-view of marsh from walkway outside rooms. Don't stay in lower floor if you have walking issues, there are quite a few stairs. Room nice enough, small fridge and coffee pot. My issue with room - AC that won't stay running. On and off all night makes it hard to stay asleep. You never know what kind you will have when you book a place. Too bad no breakfast but a good place next door. Would give 3.5 stars if Tripadvisor allowed, that would be more accurate.

"Friendly Staff"
Theresa H, 12 Août 2016

Friendly staff when checking in! Answered alot of questions about the area that we asked!! Our room had a king size bed which was very comfortable, room was very clean and somewhat renovated. Restaurant was available down the hill from hotel but within walking distance.

"Maine motorcycle trip"
gtch555, 11 Août 2016

Nicely renovated room. Very clean. A bit of an odd setup where there are separate buildings. Most of us were in the main buildings, however, some of our friends got put in rooms in a building about .2 of a mile away. Main buildings have no elevators, but have parking at different levels.

"Nice Place but a few problems with out stay....."
GRamsay1951, 07 Août 2016

We had great rooms on the first floor overlooking the Cousin Lake. It was quiet and had a porch with chairs. The only complaint we had was the TV had to be programmed every time you put it on. The same with the WYFI you had to put the code in every time you logged in and using aol. I don't have aol. It was a pain to use the rest room also the door banged into the toilet, if someone had an emergency to go the bathroom their would be a problem. Also we had rooms with no smoking, and some of the guest were smoking out side so you could smell the smoke in your room.

"Fantastic Value!"
Melanie M, 07 Août 2016

What a great place to stay! They are in the process of re-doing the rooms, and they are spacious, modern and very clean! We loved the décor, including the roomy and beautiful bathroom. The price was great, two rooms for the price of one room for four people at a competitor just down the road. And for breakfast, eat next door at the Café - not fancy, but we all had yummy, filling breakfasts before heading out for the next leg of our trip.

"Ugh."
Adrixray, 04 Août 2016

We were staying at this Inn as a team for a soccer tournament. While our room was relatively clean, it did smell a bit stale or mildewy. We managed to have an uneventful stay but several other families reported having issues with bedbugs which is a dealbreaker! The staff was super nice but I would never stay there again

"Good location, nice office staff, but house keeping and a freezing pool meant, just OK"
Mike S, 04 Août 2016

We stayed at this location for 2 nights and stayed in the main hotel near the office. The hotel is a mix of new and dated. Our room looked to have had some recent updates but the hallway carpet was old and badly stained. Overall I would have rated this hotel much higher, but house keeping was very poor in our bathroom. I picked this hotel because it had a pool for the kids. The pool was freezing, even my 13 year old couldn't tough it out. This is a good location if you need to be near Portland or Freeport but don't want to be downtown. I had a truck with a boat on a trailer so I did not want to go into Portland. Overall this is a good place to stop while on your trip, but I sure would not want to use it as a "destination". It is average all around, a good road side stop, but certainly nothing more.

"Awful"
sheenorri, 03 Août 2016

Smelt like cigarette smoke and very musty with wet carpeting. I was surprised at the stairway to carry luggage and location far from reception and pool. I mentioned my complaint to night worker and while checking out. I was not given a solution and would not stay there again. Was extremely disappointed and kept luggage in the car. It was very disappointing. View of Marsh was only good part.

"Great Value"
mkazama, 03 Août 2016

I've always been wary of staying at motels but this Best Western was in the process of being renovated. Location was great - right off the highway. The outdoor pool was fairly clean. Our room was very comfortable and modern. The updated furniture and decor helped me feel right at home. Perfect for a short stay.

"Freeport Inn"
Emily F, 02 Août 2016

It could have been a lot cleaner. There was a large amount of hair on the bathroom floor when we first went in. Our room was by the stairs too so we heard people coming in and out all night. The price was good though for what we got.

"Good Value"
George D, 28 Juillet 2016

We have stayed at this property in the past. It's very nice for a pet friendly hotel. Overall we are always pleased. The rooms are decent sized and ours has always been very clean. The recent remodeling and room upgrades are very nice.

"Great stay"
Grumpling66, 25 Juillet 2016

Room was recently renovated and modern. Beds super comfortable and air con efficient which was very important as it was very hot outside. Immaculately clean with plenty of towels and bathroom supplies. Gardens and pool well maintained . Short walk to the Muddy Rudder restaurant which serves terrific seafood or there is a cafe on site if you prefer. No complaints at all.

"My Freeport/Yarmouth Maine place"
Michael B, 23 Juillet 2016

The room we stayed in was recently renovated. And, it was great having access to an outdoor pool. The restaurant next door to the hotel is excellent. This is our second time there. My wife, two daughters and I will come back again. We love being located in between Yarmouth Maine and downtown Freeport Maine.

"Wonderful view, dog friendly getaway"
losttherace, 22 Juillet 2016

There are two properties with the hotel; one down the road about 100 yards. We had our dog with us, so we had a below the ground level room with a deck that looked over an inlet from the sea. Beautiful view and a nice area for the dog's 'have to' trips. Baggies and disposal bin were easily accessible. The room was clean and tidy, beds were a bit soft for my liking, but no problems. Bathroom small, but dressing area is large and well-lighted. A flat panel TV, Satellite TV, hairdryer, small fridge, Keurig single-cup brewer were provided. Sliding glass doors looked over deck and had double locks. Never felt unsafe. The view was beautiful. My only complaint is that the access to the room required descending 10 steps and I would have hoped for an easier way to go down; it is not handicapped accessible. The cafe associated with the hotel also has 6 steps going to the door, not a handicapped accessible building. Those are my only complaints; the staff was exceedingly helpful and friendly and there were no issues at all. I'd definitely stay here again!

"Do stay in the building away from the main office!"
Donald K, 20 Juillet 2016

We stayed in the building away from the main office. No drink machines, no pool, no staff. If your key doesn't work, long walk back to the office. No hallway phones to call front desk if you lock yourself out. Sink area too small to set down any bathroom articles. Although the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, I would avoid the remote building. Don't bother with the rooms with a view of the river - you can't see past the overgrowth. On a good note, we had a great breakfast at the attached restaurant.

"looks like new england but noisy room"
IlanaAs, 19 Juillet 2016

it looks very picturesque but only the first side has porches. the other two sides of the hotel have no view or porches and are the same price. I would constantly hear anyone who was in the hallway or anyone who opened or shut he door. that was a disappointment. They had coffee 24 hours which was nice, but there was no water on the site. Not even a water fountain or water cooler. The two days we were there were over 90 degrees so that was upsetting. Additionally, even the vending machine was out of water. Many Best Westerns provide water free for bw members who are diamond or platinum which I am. The cafe next door which we were not given any discounts to coupons which many best westerns do when they do not provide a free meal. Was very good and reasonable. Great location if you want to go to outlets, LLBean, etc.

"Nice place to stay"
Judy H, 18 Juillet 2016

This is a decent place to stay. The room itself was ok, but it's in need of updating, which they're working on. The Front Desk Staff were very nice and friendly. They have a nice outdoor pool, but it was cold and rainy, so couldn't get in it. We drove to the LL Bean Outlets, which was fun. There were no restaurants within walking distance other than the Café right next to the hotel,, which was nothing more than average. The food there was ok, but the service wasn't very good.. But we did drive down the road a short ways to Days Take Out for lobster, which was great.

"Disappointed!"
Leigh M, 15 Juillet 2016

This hotel overlooks a busy highway. The rooms were decent except the floor tiles were loose. We had to listen to a dog barking in another room for an hour. The water heater was not working so I could not have a shower before we left. I had an unpleasant experience washing my hair in the sink. I asked if they would take something off our bill for this. No apology. They just told us we had to contact the online booking company. I didn't feel like they really care about us.

"One of the worst nights of sleep. Ever!"

This is a unique property as it consists of the original building and an annex located about a quarter mile away across a creek. We were put into the annex, which is where people with pets are put. Perhaps that was the problem. The carpet smelled like wet dog. The AC unit did not function properly, which contributed to my poor night of sleep, as I was hot and cannot sleep when I am hot. The bed was very uncomfortable, which caused my wife and I physical discomfort to the point that we spent the night looking at the clock. While their was a coffee maker in the room, there weren't any lids for the cups, so we could not take our coffee with us. This was another lodging we booked through Hotwire, but in this case the gamble did not pay off. When in that part of Maine again, I will find different lodging.

"Great Stay!"
Ihsahn, 13 Juillet 2016

I've been driving by this place for years while visiting the area. As it turns out, it is a good deal more affordable than other comparable properties nearby. On a recent visit to Portland, we wound up staying here and it was just fine. Check-in and check-out were both friendly and fast. Employees were pleasant. We stayed on the top floor of the annex building out back, facing the parking lot. No view to speak of, but high up enough so that headlights were not an issue. Our room was clean, modern, and roomy. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom was spotless , a/c functional. We didn't use the pool or the onsite restaurant. Maybe one minor complaint would be that when we arrived back at the hotel fairly late, there were no parking places out back. Not a big deal, we found a spot that required only a short walk. I would stay here again in a minute. A great value!

"Very nice hotel"
dbrown5008, 12 Juillet 2016

The staff was very friendly and helpful, room was very nice and clean. The cafe was very good also. It was a little weird that there was no elevator, so carrying the luggage up the stairs wasn't so fun. Overall it was a nice place to stay. Location was great. Would stay again.

"It's alright"
LSantos1, 09 Juillet 2016

Rooms are clean. They have a pool that isn't bad. The workout out room...or "wellness spa" as they call it is an air conditioned room with a Nautilus type weight machine, free weights, one treadmill and one stationary bike. Overall...near the highway and not bad considering the price. Staff is friendly

"Very Nice Hotel"
Antonio H, 06 Juillet 2016

Decor of the room was was impressive. Location of hotel was excellent . On site restaurant food was very good. My wife and i missed receiving the complimentary free breakfast we have become accustomed to @ Best Western. Overall very nice hotel.

"Love this hotel"
Vivian B, 06 Juillet 2016

I love staying at the Best Western in Freeport Maine. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are newly renovated. There is a little cafe for breakfast that is walking distance from the rooms near the check-in and there is the Muddy Rudder, a lunch and dinner restaurant walking distance from the second property. They are pet friendly for a small up-charge. I stay there whenever I visit Freeport or when I am on my way to northern Maine.

"Very good renovated room"
Charles T, 05 Juillet 2016

The hotel was under renovation and we stayed in a pet friendly room that had recently been renovated. It was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful. It's about 5 miles south of the city shopping area in Freeport. It has an outdoor pool that is small but well-kept. If you're looking for a mid priced hotel with recent renovations, I don't think you would be disappointed.

"Got a non cleaned room"
EBl2015, 03 Juillet 2016

We got the key for a room - the room was not cleaned. When we called the front desk, they told us we have to come back to them (we had to drive as the rooms were in a different building) we had to carry our luggage down the stairs (no elevator) put it in the car, drove to the hotel reception. Here we got another key to the room next to the one we had before. We took our luggage again, carried it up the staircase to the new room. This was cleaned. But the carpet on hallway and the stairs had not seen a vaccum cleaner for at least 1 week. Dirty was also the door from the staircase to the hallway. And this hotel has 3 diamonds from AAA

"Clean, neat, and good rate- what more do you want?"
Amy C, 02 Juillet 2016

I've never stayed at a BW before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This property was a little dated, but the building I stayed in (off property) was clean and neat. Beds were comfortable, staff was helpful, and the rate was good considering it was summer in Vacationland! Liked that it's right off Route 1- so easy access to Freeport shopping and the Maine Coast. Would definitely stay again! It seemed the off property building behind the Muddy Rudder, was the place where the people who came with pets stayed. Not sure if they put pet people exclusively in this building, but it's something to know or ask if you don't have pets and don't want to be around them. However, we had no problems with the exception of one minor dog-barking incident our last night there- but it didn't last.

"Just ok"
User, 01 Juillet 2016

My daughter loves o stay in hotels so this was a 1/2 point from the ocean and our house got an amazing price on priceline, so we couldn't pass it up. We were assigned the room down the road (so odd) room was ok, two doubles, great vanity area, everything was very clean, our rug was damp?? but definitely dated and needs some tlc. (Wallpaper peeling off) The pool was very nice and clean. Wasn't horrible, wasn't great . I probably would've been more disappointed if I had paid more then what I did.

"Comfortable enough.."
Cathy N Andy J, 01 Juillet 2016

Odd set up with two places a quarter mile apart..with a resturant in between..we stayed in the old part away from main hotel...quiet and comfortable but if you wanted to use the pool you woild have to drive up to the main hotel complex ..we only stayed 2 nights had a refrigerator but had no microwave which would have been useful. .convenient to a short trip into Portland and surrounds

"Mixed"
Jen2947, 01 Juillet 2016

Mixed! We stayed in a room on the ground floor of the second complex of rooms located about a quarter of a mile away from reception/ the pool are. Room was ok, a bit dated but comfy bed. But there was no air con and our room overlooked the very busy and noisy road just outside. Where our room was though was down at the site's resteraunt, Muddy Rudders, which was excellent - great food and a pianist playing away, which was lovely. We didn't use the pool but it looked very small and again overlooks the busy, very noisy road outside - not shown in the hotel photos!

"Odd place"
Chris K, 30 Juin 2016

Odd setup. Two units about a quarter mile apart. Old place that is in pretty good condition. No breakfast. Reserved the room 3 months in advance and were assured that all in our party would be together. Didn't happen. Half were

"Great facilities, great price"
994lynnl, 29 Juin 2016

Check in and check out staff were all very friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was large, well maintained and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. We could not hear any noise from any of the nearby rooms or from people on the walkway in front of our door. Would highly recommend this hotel.

"Nice place nice price"
Jill R, 28 Juin 2016

Stayed here on our trip. The rooms were remodeled and very nice! They do have an outside swimming pool. It's nice that to reach the second floor there is only nine steps. I did have some trouble with the hot water but not enough to not stay here again I would stay here again

"Very okay "
lovethescents, 27 Juin 2016

This Best Western is like a university campus in that it is very spread out. One 'area ' is a few minutes drive down the highway and in the forest away from reception making it difficult to access. The website states laundry services which is untrue. One would expect such a massive hotel chain to be able to update their website. Cleanliness is a bit of an issue. The staff, however, are very helpful and hospitable.

"Nice stay, great staff"
vincent t, 26 Juin 2016

I stayed here a few weeks ago. The place is clean, fairly priced, friendly, and has an excellent restaurant. After I came home, I realized that I had left my daughter's army unit basic training T shirt in my room. It's a one-of-a-kind item I hated to lose. I phoned the front desk, and they talked with housekeeping, which found the shirt. The hotel sent the shirt back to me in the mail -- at its expense. (They didn't ask me to, but I reimbursed them, because I was grateful for the help) This kind of hospitality and concern for guests is unusual, and I am grateful for it. I look forward to staying there again.

"Freeport Inn"
Renee F, 26 Juin 2016

Awesome room for location, cleanliness and value! The staff were kind and the location to freeport and portland is very accessible right off of the highway. Rooms have been recently updated. Not sure if there is an elevator.

"Great Dog Friendly Hotel"
Beth H, 24 Juin 2016

Renovated rooms with no rugs. Who could ask for anything more? Along the coast? Yes. Near good eats, drinks, and shopping? Yes, Yes, Yes. Okay...I asked for more and got it. Staff were friendly, and there were dog treats at check-in. Small walking area for dog but that was fine. We had other places to walk. It was a wonderful experience.

"Very Nice Bargain Stay"
LEONARD O, 21 Juin 2016

We booked this on Priceline Express so the rate was amazingly affordable. The check-in was fast and efficient and the woman who helped us was able to give us some good directions to LL Bean. We got a room in the back building downstairs but didn't hear any noise from above or either side; the bed was comfortable and the pillow perfect.. The parking spaces in the back lot are tight, but at least they're free. The weather was beautiful so I'm not sure if the A/C or heat went on at all. The bathroom was spotless--as was the room--and the shower had nice brisk water pressure. Check-out was painless. I would definitely return if I went back to Freeport.

"Very Nice Stay"
EastCoastAmanda, 19 Juin 2016

We stayed at this hotel for one night and found an updated, modern room, with the convenience of reading lights at the bedside. I do think that screens should be installed in the windows that open and there should be a security lock on these windows in case a small child were to attempt to open them. The reading lights very helpful since my husband stays up late and I go to sleep early! The front desk staff were two, cheerful women who made conversation with my grand daughter and treated us as if we were at home. Next door, at the Cafe, one can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner and this place is a standout for hearty New England fare. We have been stopping there for years on our way into or out of Freeport. I love the chicken pot pie! If you are a dog owner or a family, this is an excellent choice of hotel, as they have a playground, pool, and a large lawn for dogs to play on. We will always stay here when we come to Freeport even though we are used to far more upscale hotels, because it is clean, friendly, and a bit out of town. And the Cafe can't be beat! Have fun!

"Absolutely decent"
elanma, 17 Juin 2016

A very decent hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. We were travelling in a larger group of 16 and arrived quite late in the evening – by the time we arrived there were not enough rooms left in the main building so we had to split the group and a part of us had to drive a few hundred meters to their second building. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, and although they look as if they have seen already a few years of travelers they are well maintained and very clean. The same is true for the bathrooms. If you stay there, go and have breakfast in the Freeport Café right next to the hotel which is much better than the typical American Hotel Breakfast and reasonably priced. All in all I would stay there again.

"Best dog area "
Kathy S, 16 Juin 2016

This hotel was clean, quiet, and close to town. It had the best dog walking area hands down. Scenic and lots and lots of green space for the dogs to explore. No breakfast, however a cafe is on premise. No laundry. If you have dogs, this is the one for you.

"Family get together "
Roslyn B, 14 Juin 2016

My husband's family own a home in Portland,Maine. Although it's a large home with a barn it wasn't big enough to accommodate everyone. So we booked a room in Freeport which is not to far away and home to outlet stores including LL Bean. We checked in around 545 Friday 6/10/16 and the desk clerk Stephanie was on the phone. Clearly she was taking a reservation but instead of placing the caller on hold she proceeded with the reservation Leaving us and another standing there for about 10-15 minutes. The hotel was clean and quiet, the lobby was neat and orderly. The parking lot was clean and close to the door, ample handicap spaces available and the hotel was handicap friendly Our room was clean and well appointed adequate toiletries and extra towels?? Breakfast the next morning was very nice and plenty of the usual breakfast fare. That evening using the hotels suggestion we dined at the Muddy Rudder. It's a fine dining restaurant and the food was awesome. We also went back the next day for brunch another awesome meal. Afterwards we left for Boston.

"very comfortable"
anonymous12357, 13 Juin 2016

A blast from the past in New England. The hotel is separate from the office which is separate from the restaurant. Rooms clean and hotel was remodeling. Café had a great breakfast and the staff were very nice. Older hotels are sometimes not so great, but I found this one charming.

"Not pleased at all"
Jonathan K, 11 Juin 2016

This was not a pleasurable experience at all. First of all, we had to stay at another part of the hotel down the road. If we had actually needed something, we would have had to get in our our car and drive down the road. Secondly, there was a gap in the door and you could actually see in and out through this crack. It also was made worse by the late night party across the hall. I do not recommend staying here at all!

"Budget motel for family"
Tiffany B, 07 Juin 2016

We stayed in the newly renovated building up the hill from the office. It was clean and comfortable. The air conditioner was a little loud and made some dripping noises. Overall, I felt I got my money's worth. It is a bigger motel with no breakfast. However, the cafe at the bottom of the hill was 5 stars!

"Advertised by price line as a three star. no where close to that"
rich s, 06 Juin 2016

Booked thru Price Line as a three star hotel with two restaurants on premise..The lobby was an old house and next to it was a small building that said cafe. They said it was open but there were no cars there. The actual hotel was on a separate driveway on a hill behind the small house/lobby. We however did not stay there. We were directed to go back out to the highway and drive to the parking lot of a restaurant about a quarter to one half mile down the street and go up the hill behind the restaurant to where we were staying. The first thing I noticed was a sign telling guest to remove all property from the car?. There were no signs on the building and only a filthy rug by the door that said Best Western.. The room was poor ,wallpaper pealing , the rug patched, stuff on the floor etc. There were no amenities in the building except for one ice maker on the third floor. The motel appeared to be 40 to 50 years old. Not exactly three stars as stated by Price line. It was late and we were hungry so we had no choice but to stay. . We drove down the hill to the restaurant which was not owned by Best western!. Another lie so much for two restaurants on the property as stated in their ad and on price line. We did call price line to complain but got nothing but a three dollar coupon. Wow! have photos available

"Enjoyable Stay"
Anthony D, 06 Juin 2016

From the time we arrived until we departed the staff was happy that we chose this location. The room was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy the stay. When we asked for suggestions, we found that the suggestions were excellent and we were glad that we took their advice.

"Family trip"
Donlad L, 06 Juin 2016

Check in at 3 pm. Room was not ready till 4 pm. Hotel is a split property with the second building a half mile down the road. Pool and playground at main building. Girl at the hotel office could not even give a convincing apology. i am sorry I stayed here.

"A Quiet Spot"
Michael C, 05 Juin 2016

We found the room clean and the price very reasonable, Elizabeth, who checked us in, was friendly and welcoming. We had a first floor room facing the pond and pool - very nice. The hotel is older and in the process of renovation. Bathroom was small, but the room was VERY quiet. Some of the other chains in Freeport back on the highway and the traffic can be very loud. This is a good spot for a night or two when enjoying the Freeport shopping. There is a restaurant on site, great for breakfast, and the Muddy Rudder is located on the other part of this hotel's property, a short drive from the office.

"Probably wouldn't stay again."
Cory P, 05 Juin 2016

We needed a stay for one night. A pro is they cleaned our room for an early check in. Con is our room is on a different property then the main office and pool (not mentioned in their website when you book). We get to the next driveway and our relationship room is on the 3rd floor ( was excited at first), but no elevator and our "balcony " was a fence blocking a door to the outside. Pro was the girl that checked us in , Kayla, was super! Great people skills!! They really need to do something about telling people when they book about having to drive to use the pool or playground or to see the main office.

"Easy access to Freeway and shops"
DenverCO36, 02 Juin 2016

The hotel is located next to freeway, easy access to shops and restaurants in downtown Freeport. The room is clean, roomy, there is no elevators, so request ground floor if you cannot take the stairs. There is no breakfast offer, but you can walk to the Café next door to have your own breakfast.

"Great Place To Stay"
MaineNewYork, 01 Juin 2016

The Freeport Inn is centrally located to so many points of interest along the coast of Maine and makes it very convenient to get to them. The Inn itself is clean and has what you need to make your stay pleasurable. It hosts a great, I mean great Freeport Cafe. The best blueberry pancakes in the country. Wonderful baked goods like muffins and cookies. The staff of the Cafe & Inn are pros, warm and friendly. You can't go wrong.

"Remodeled Spacious Rooms in a Good Location to Start Your Exploration of Freeport"
ReadRibbet, 31 Mai 2016

We booked this hotel during the off season at a reasonable rate. The rooms have been updated and are more spacious than most (both the sleeping space and bathroom area). They are equipped with microwaves and mini-fridges to make a longer stay easier. Location is at the end of a frontage road (Old Highway 1) so just a bit off the beaten path but it is walking distance to a full service YMCA if you want to work out or swim. There is also an outdoor pool on site. Also on site is a popular café for breakfast (voted the best by locals) and seafood. The front desk staff was gracious and warm. It was a great place to hang out on our first night I Freeport.

"Very reasonable, good place to stay."
funlover_8, 27 Mai 2016

Stayed here on our visit to the L.L.Bean flagship store in Freeport. Conveniently located off the highway. Clean and reasonably priced. Freeport Cafe is right next door with good breakfasts. Would visit again.

"Good room, thin walls (or noisy neighbours..)"
AAleR, 27 Mai 2016

Good room with thin walls, or maybe just noisy neighbours. Newly renovated with new furniture and bathroom. Our room had a little fridge with a separate freezer and microwave - very convenient. Bed was comfortable with good quality linen. Room and bathroom was clean. No breakfast included in stay. Good location to explore both Freeport and Portland. Friendly efficient staff. I would stay here again.

"Clean Accommodations"
thumper1, 20 Mai 2016

The hotel looks newly renovated. One small carpet between the two beds. Floors were tiled or wood laminate. No yucky carpets. Very modern lines to furnishings. Our room had a small refrigerator with a separate freezer and a microwave. There is a single cup Keurig and coffee pods and tea bags were included. We asked for a handicap accessible room. The entrance was accessible but it is up or down 8 steps to the rooms.

"LOVED our stay - Kind, Clean, Well-designed, Beautiful View"
juniperivy2016, 16 Mai 2016

LOVED our stay here. My 92 year-old mum and I needed a halfway stop on our way from NY to New Brunswick, CA... we got a room facing the pond and the sunset. How Lucky! Our room was simple and clean, and my puppies were very happy to be able to watch the world go by through the floor length window and glass door that opened onto a long verandah with a clean white railing. We ate at the lovely little diner adjacent to the hotel. The food was great. I had a fresh lobster roll that had at least four claws in it and my mum had an enormous bowl of chowda - awesome!! Great price, friendly people, clean and PET FRIENDLY!!!

"Dump has gone way downhill from past years"
martinvW9421QI, 11 Mai 2016

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times without problems. On this occasion, when I ascended the handicapped ramp to the office, I was prohibited from going in the door and forced to go around the building and use the stairs--which is very difficult for me given my physical condition. The phone in my room had no cord connecting it to the wall. The shower didn't work. At all. Several surfaces in the room were sticky. I will never stay there again, and I will not stay in another Best Western if I have a choice.

"Great pet friendly hotel"
Andi91913, 11 Mai 2016

Our room was clean and comfortable. There was a refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker. We had a good size end room which worked well for our two large dogs. The hotel is older and somewhat run down, however the staff are friendly and warm and we would stay again.

"Great Room at a Great Price"
Claudetteth, 03 Mai 2016

If you're looking for a great hotel handy to Freeport this is a great spot. The rooms have been recently renovated and are very comfortable. One of the things we really liked is that there are lots of plugs in the room. The toiletries are of a good quality. The front office desk staff is also very friendly. We will definitely stay here again. This hotel is great value for the dollar but you will need a car to get around.

"I 95 Corridor"
Charles W, 03 Mai 2016

A newly renovated hotel 2015 the facilities were first class. The staff were cooperative and friendly and nearby are good restaurants for enjoyment by the weary traveller. I recommend as a very good value destination

"Don't Eat at the Best Western Cafe!"
Frank D, 03 Mai 2016

Room was clean, amenities were out dated. Food was poor. This hotel sits on a River that gives off an odor which does get into the rooms. The place was in need of painting outside the balcony door. which you cannot go out on. The key card entry failed more than once. The Best Western Cafe was awful. Food was not cooked or stored properly.

"Excellent Hotel worth the money"
Satish Bheemann C, 02 Mai 2016

This Hotel is very good, scenic river facing rooms make the unique experience of stay here. All staff members are really friendly and they help at any time. 24 hour assistance from the staff makes the stay easy and comfy, I would say its worth the money to stay here. Close to LL Bean shopping center, close to Freeport café best in town and many more advantages.

"Surprisingly good!"
812annamariah, 01 Mai 2016

I came up to Maine to attend a local conference and chose to stay at this Best Western as the chain typically offers good quality and value for money. I was really surprised though by the quality of the room, which had evidently been recently renovated. It was clean, spacious, and well-decorated with modern fixtures in excellent condition. I loved the addition of personal reading lamps and the wide range of TV channels. Both staff members I interacted with were pleasant and helpful. As always, it was excellent value for money. I would definitely stay here again.

"great priced hotel"
Carolyn J, 30 Avril 2016

This hotel is not fancy but it is usually reasonably priced and clean. Just acouple of miles from the center of Freeport. There is a café next to the hotel as well as another restaurant right down the road for lunch or dinner.

"You'll be suprised"
JS M, 26 Avril 2016

Friendly personnel, super clean room, accessible to local shopping, grocery store, gas station and gas station. Modern fixtures, fast reliable internet, comfortable bed, fridge, microwave and super affordable. We have paid a lot more per night for a lot less comfort and amenities. One of the best affordable hotels in Freeport/Lewiston/Auburn area.

"Found a new place to stay when away"
Kristine S, 18 Avril 2016

I had everything I needed during this stay and more. The room was plenty big, was very clean, and there were many channels to choose from while watching tv. I slept great as the bed was comfortable and so wasn't the temperature in the room. It was priced just right for what I was looking for and needed for my overnight stay.

"Excellent! "
lissiebrook, 17 Avril 2016

We feel so lucky to have landed here! It's like a compound with the Muddy Rudder ( see that review) for dinner and the Cafe for breakfast. Very nice room; all the badics, good size and very clean. Ask for a view of the marsh if you'd like. Can't recommend it enough. Good value.

"Best Western Freeport Maine"
tonystewartfan14, 10 Avril 2016

Excellent stay at this hotel. Great rate if you get the coupon book as you enter the State. Lovely hotel and always stay here when we are in the area. Hotel has been updated, very clean rooms. Would recommend to travellers.

"Great stay"
2015eastcoasters, 09 Avril 2016

This Best Western Freeport Inn, was one of the nicest we have stayed in. We usually stay in York Maine at the Best Western there or at Vacationland Inn, but found this Inn on our way through because we lost a few hours driving due to traffic/weather. I am quite pleased with this location and we will definitely be back on our trip next time through Maine.

"LLBean"
Tammy D, 31 Mars 2016

Very nice and clean. We always try to stay here when coming to Maine. The room was very clean and the hotel is near LLBean, which is the main reason we come to Freeport. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you!

"Excellent Value"
Rachel H, 29 Mars 2016

Newly renovated room. No carpet in room, which is nice for a pet friendly hotel. Very roomy and comfortable. Walls are a little thin, so late night travelers may disturb if your a light sleeper. Great value through Priceline discount!

"Hazards"
C. R, 28 Mars 2016

Soft bottom tubs are too slick and are accidents waiting to happen. When stepping out of the tub, my inside foot slipped and I hit the tile floor very hard. Fortunately I received only cuts and bruises on my left elbow and my left shin, , but had I hit the tile floor differently, I could have been dealing with a broken bone or worse. I'm sorry to have bloodied some of your towels. On checking out I told the person on the desk about my accident and I was told that the manager would be notified. It would have been a good gesture to offer me a meal ticket for breakfast, but perhaps that is not your policy. Next time I will opt for a handicapped room that I assume has a shower stall.

"Newly remodeled and clean rooms"
LarryD875, 20 Mars 2016

Room was clean with mostly all new fixtures and furniture. Price was reasonable and the room comfortable. It was kind if disappointing that if you were on th third floor, you had to go down to the first floor to get a bottle of soda. Normally it wouldn't be bad, but at midnight, who wants to go long distances to get some done refreshments. All things considered, I would stay there again.

"Oldie but goodie"
ralfann, 17 Mars 2016

Truly caring folks run and tend to this place. Guests are made to feel very welcomed in a genuine country way.,much more than the usual polite "canned" greeting you get at most lodging establishments. The property though showing some age is being well cared for, the rooms are clean and comfortable. All in all , a most pleasant stay.

"A lovely property!"
Margie A, 10 Mars 2016

The only problem which we encountered was the lack of an elevator. If a guest does not have a problem with stairs to get to and from the room, I highly recommend this property! The location is perfect for shopping or sight seeing!

"Great place"
Lori H, 09 Mars 2016

I was nervous about the proximity of the highway. They must have some great sound-proofing - no traffic noises at all! Nice clean room. We had no hot water our first morning, but it was fixed very quickly. All in all, a great place to stay.

"Great value"
brucet475, 05 Mars 2016

Great value. Friendly staff. Pet friendly. Near outlets including L.L. Bean. Stay here night before early AM flight out of Portland or bus to Boston Logan. Renovate rooms nice. Good views overlooking river and wet lands.

"BW Freeport"
Jeanne Z, 04 Mars 2016

Excellent quality and rates. second stay here and both times were great. Perfect location when visiting my daughter in the area. it is close to restaurants and shopping. Freeport and Portland has many things to do.

"Excellent"
750margef, 22 Février 2016

Excellent location off of the interstate, near restaurants, gas stations. front desk staff were marvelous, room was very immaculate, beds were comfortable. Overall, great stay . Did not use pool as it was in winter time still. We would definitely stay here again if we were to come back out this way again.

"Excellent facility and value"
NBCanadasnowbirds, 20 Février 2016

We have stayed many times at this spot but not since the interior renovations. The upgrades are excellent-decor, function and comfort. I would highly recommend this location for value and comfort. There are two restaurants near that meet most needs.

"Good location, good value"
ConnTravelor, 16 Février 2016

We stayed because of the location, price and dog friendly rooms. The location is just off the highway and a short drive into Freeport. The room was well appointed with microwave, fridge and coffeemaker. It was a frigid weekend in Maine and the heat worked very well, actually too well since we like it a bit cooler to sleep and the only lower setting was off, which we didn't want to try. But, in view of the below zero temps, it was good. We brought our dog with us and were very pleased with the dog friendliness. The room was clean and fresh. We had an outside door which led directly to a small porch then only a few steps down to the outside. Parking right outside the room was also a plus in the extreme cold. The room was a bit noisy but that was due to the folks upstairs who appeared to enjoy roller chair hockey. Can't fault the hotel for that. It was a good value. Try the on site cafe for breakfast. It was good!

"A great place to relax after a busy day"
Patricia B, 12 Février 2016

This hotel was situated in the perfect area that we could enjoy our first visit to L.L. Bean and Kittery Outlets, have a restful night and then meet the following day for an annual reunion with former neighbors in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. How Good is That!

"Bed was awful"
Lorna S, 06 Février 2016

Clean room, nice bathroom, newly renovated rooms but still old beds, not very comfortable, parking isn't good for trucks ,and kind of noisy with the traffic,he stayed at other best western and the beds are always nice but this one was not

The Freeport Inn was very clean with friendly, considerate staff. They were remodeling/ updating rooms on my floor, but kept the noise level respectable, I loved the furnishings in my room! The table with wheels made it easier to move around. The entertainment center with the fridge and microwave in it made cooking easier. I appreciate them being pet friendly and my dog appreciated the treats at the front reception. The upscale fixtures were very nice. My son liked the room so much, we stayed an extra day and didn't want to leave.

"Wow, what a deal!"
Christina D, 29 Janvier 2016

Recently and beautifully renovated room is so clean I think I might be the very first person to stay since the renovation. Super spacious area with a comfy king, fridge, microwave AND a Keurig. Heater blasted out the 75 degrees I set it to, especially helpful to this girl visiting Maine in January from Florida. Bathroom is not only super clean but had plenty of towels and toiletries. One word explains the value you get for this price: WOW!

"Jason's Review"
Jason R, 19 Janvier 2016

All in all this is a very pretty hotel. I fell down the stairs during my stay but that was not the staffs fault. Also it was impossible to get up to my parking lot due to the snow but it was Maine so doubt that was the staff's fault as well. Looking forward to another stay.

"Need to drive from hotel building to our room!"
Ferhan T, 11 Janvier 2016

We had booked a room in this hotel, based on its pictures and information on Hotels.com. When we got to the reception office, they told us to drive down the road to a building 1/4 miles away, instead of the main building, which is the only displayed building on Hotels.com. When we got there, it took us a while to realize the narrow uphill path behind the restaurant, that takes you to a 2-story building with its own parking area. It did not say Best Western anywhere. We reluctantly tried the card they gave us from the office, and surprise! It works. The only thing that says Best Western is the door mat. The room was okay, but definitely not a 3-star place. It was somewhere between Travelodge and Ramada, which should not be the case. The fact that it is a drive away from the main building means that you cannot take advantage of most amenities. You cannot walk to the front reception, or use the laundry, or the pool, etc. I have never been to a hotel like this. And without any warning! Not good value for your money...

"Very good hotel"
Chad J, 09 Janvier 2016

My second stay in the last few weeks. Clean quiet friendly staff. Good location if driving through or shopping at Freeport. Good beds. Kerug coffee maker in rooms and in lobby. Good quality toiletries.

"Small, newly renovated"
MTLCRUISEFAMILY, 27 Décembre 2015

Nice little hotel in Freeport, Arrived late on the 25th, and greeted by two office employees, very helpful, especially being Christmas day, and no place to eat that was open, they were able to suggest a few options. Conveniently located near Freeport village Room was nice size, beds very comfortable, and above all room was clean and properly maintained. Busy Cafe on premises.

"*****Pet Friendly and Shopping!"
VIC H, 23 Décembre 2015

We always stay here during our Christmas commute to visit family. Great shopping close by and one of the first Pet Friendly hotels that we found in Maine. Still is the best equipped for our Hairy Kid! Nice people working there as well.

"EXCEPTIONAL VALUE FOR PRICE!"
Noris Q, 08 Décembre 2015

THIS hotel was the highlight of our most recent trip to Freeport Maine! The major uphaul was phenomenal! The rooms are Hyatt-like and everything was super clean! Will definitely consider other Best Western properties in hopes they are ALL like this!

"onvenient but doubtful to return"
Karl M, 06 Décembre 2015

The price was right on short planning and convenient for my plans. Staff on check in were very polite and helpful. However, the bed offered me little support and left my back quite sore in the morning. Shelf over sink in bathroom should be ripped out as one could easily smack their head on it. heating unit needs an automatic temperature sensor to shut off without having to keep getting up when room got too warm.

"Prt friendly"
NWS1935, 27 Novembre 2015

Another place that is pet friendly for only $15. No breakfast or anything unless one goes down the hill. Beds are great and the place is quiet. A bit out of Freeport and any places to eat. Staff is friendly and willing to help and answer questions.

"Miscommunication"
nataliemarie58, 11 Novembre 2015

Not worth the money, too much for nothing. When we checked in we told the Front Desk Clerk that we would be paying cash. He said "No Problem" and had my c/c in case of any charges. That's fine. But when we checked out the next day with no charges except for our room, they had charged my card. I asked them Why, she said "Oh Well". Really. Plus there are no microwaves in the room and the furniture is old, the bath room, well it was so tight that the door rubbed against the toilet. It's an old place, then I added the extra 5 dollars for a view and all i got was trees.. really. Never again.

"Always the same"
Lou T, 09 Novembre 2015

This has been on of the most consistently pleasant hotels in which I have ever stayed. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is super. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful when necessary.

"Better than expected"
Marlenemaca, 08 Novembre 2015

Haven't stayed here in many years but it was last minute decision to get a place. I really liked the new flooring...not carpet! There were many upgrades to the room but I wash they had gone the final bit and finished all upgrades....for example...the heaters were old and rusty. The bed was great. Would stay again.

"Average"
Matthew P, 08 Novembre 2015

Not memorable nor a real value deal. It is sufficient if you can't find anywhere else. There are many others located closer to city center. Next time I will spend the extra 15 for a real 3+ star place.

"Excellent!"
William A, 02 Novembre 2015

This site didn't impress us at first glance, but the area view and the rooms were five star. Everything about it was great, the room, short drive to the shopping center of town and restaurants. Our room was on the third floor (there is no elevator), but parking in the back and walking up 6-8 steps and you are on the third floor was not bad. We are looking forward to staying here again in our future trips to the Freeport.

"Great Stay in Freeport"
sandy d, 01 Novembre 2015

Enjoyed my stay at Best Western Inn. I was up in the back building facing parking lot - no view but no noise from highway either. Would prefer 3rd floor next time. Regret I did not have time to try their "Cafe" as the parking lot full, so must be good. Will definitely visit again. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.

"Freeport Inn Review"
norm2ez4words, 01 Novembre 2015

Our experience has always been wonderful at the Freeport Inn Best Western. The staff are always friendly, courteous and professional> The Restaurant Manager was a huge bonus this trip as he was an unusually great manager, waiter, and social director all rolled into one. For a man working a 14 hour day, he was full of energy and manifested great competence and was tuned into the needs of all the guests. Give him a raise!

"Great "dog friendly" niche hotel"
Itof, 31 Octobre 2015

My family and I have stayed here several times while visiting daughter at Bowdoin College- great niche hotel. Friendly desk staff to help w/ local arrangement, dog friendly, coffee in lobby, great breakfast restaurant next door. Staff and owner even let us check out several hours late when we requested. Outdoor pool too. This sort of flexible cooperation will bring us back for years to come.

"Great place to stay !"
Tina-Mobile, 27 Octobre 2015

We were so pleasantly surprised to find this! Price was more than reasonable and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The entire facility had recently been totally renovated. I have stayed there several times before so I didn't hesitate to return. Very comfortable and quiet. Great location. No breakfast served, but at such a low price, I didn't care. Definitely plan to go back.

"Check-in was a nightmare"
Jason S, 26 Octobre 2015

We were almost late to a wedding due to check-in issues. Despite calling ahead, our room was not ready and we were informed that it may not even be ready at the official 3 pm check-in time. We were led to believe all clean rooms were filled until we overheard another guest check-in no problem. We were not offered another room until we asked. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the upgrades looked good from a distance. It is too bad, had they taken more time with the renovations, the room would have been really, really nice. The check-in service was a complete and utter disappointment and that is why we ultimately will never stay here again.

"No breakfast"
James B, 23 Octobre 2015

No warm breakfast was served and restaurant was over priced. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The check in office was one side of the lake and where we stayed at was on the other side of the lake.

"Not the best"
Dawn G, 18 Octobre 2015

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of October. The reception area was tired and smelled vaguely of dogs. We were sent 500 yards down the road to the annex. Nowhere near the main hotel, advertised pool or Freeport cafe. It was tired, grubby and noisy due to the freeway. There was no safe in the room and the place felt vulnerable as there were no staff around, other than when the cleaners were there. I would have said 'motel' not hotel. Is it because we were English we were put out here? Who knows? There were certainly none of the chocolate chip cookies other reviews mentioned either!

"Shopping visit"
Hadley W, 17 Octobre 2015

Impressed with the recent upgrades at this Best Western; modern rooms with modern décor; modern bathroom refinishes including tub, toilet, and shower; all required ammeneties available; no free continental breakfast here but associated restaurant is on the grounds. Climate controlled rooms were quiet with no disturbing noises. Reasonable rate.

"Very nice in so many ways"
Kyle S, 15 Octobre 2015

This hotel worked out perfectly for where I needed to be, and was comfortable and in good shape. It's on a hillside so the view was nice from my window, and it seems to be new so it's still in fine working order. No free breakfast but since I don't like eating till I've been up a while that was no big deal. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. Recommended.

"Always reliable"
2happybeachbums, 15 Octobre 2015

BW always seems to be a good room for the price. WE got a room in the upper level and had a nice room, quiet, and easy access. No food at the place but the cafe right next to them serves a good breakfast but they no longer give a discount to hotel guest. Less than 15 minutes to LL bean

"Management Follow-up"
Mary Pat M, 14 Octobre 2015

There were fire alarm issues for 2 hours in the middle of the night in October in Maine. The management did not check in on us during or after the incident. When I asked about a refund, I was told the manager would get back to me. Six days later and still no contact from the manager. I had always stayed at this hotel because I am in Freeport several times per year. Relatively sure I will never stay again.

"Birthday Escape"
Robert P, 13 Octobre 2015

We have stayed at this hotel many times and usually more then one time at a time. The last time we stayed here we were in a newly renovated room overlooking the pool area. Beautiful room 2nd floor. This stay we we were on the ground floor overlooking pool. Room was not renovated and showed some wear especially on carpets. We travel with two small Chihuahua's and prefer a location that isn't carpeted through out. I didn't ask at time of booking so my fault. However, our first nights sleep was interrupted by some one walking heavily on the floor in room above us. Continued until after 11:00 pm. Noise was so disturbing it made the fire sprinkler rattle and made one of our pups who is fearful of thunder hide under the night stand panting. We ended up going for an hour drive only to return to same thing. At 6:15 am heavy walking happened again waking both of us as well as dogs. I contacted front office and explained. They did not have any rooms to move us and apologized. That night and next am the same exact thing. A night manager did come but was unable to resolve issue. Left tired. One other thing we found as disappointing is they no longer offer a discount coupon for the adjoining cafe for breakfast and do not offer a continental breakfast as do other Bestwestern's do. Very disappointed that this was the case and that a reduced rate was not offered instead. When we return, and we more then likely will, I will address these concerns at time of booking.

"Best Western Freeport"
Donna T, 10 Octobre 2015

Was very happy with my stay. They are pet friendly and clean. The people are friendly and helpful. There is no smell of smoke so I'm thinking the entire hotel is non-smoking. That is very important to me.

"Hotel Room"
naomif460, 06 Octobre 2015

Travel with 2 small dogs, great place to walk dogs, room very nice. Large refrigerator, comfortable beds, nice shower. Friendly staff. Very happy with our stay. Great location for shopping in Freeport. ME. Friendly staff,

"Surprisingly modern inside"
SavvyTraveler618, 05 Octobre 2015

I booked this hotel through TripAdvisor mobile app while en route south through Portland. It was hard to tell what the rooms were like on my tiny phone screen, and when we pulled in and saw that the building looked like it dated from the 1960s, I wasn't hopeful. We were very pleasantly surprised, though. The rooms had recently been completely renovated with new furniture, beds, bathroom fixtures, etc., and the hallways still had that "new carpeting and new paint" smell. It felt like a brand-new hotel. There was a little bit of noise from the nearby highway, but not bad. While it was not close enough to the main drag in Freeport to walk to the shops and other attractions, it was worth the $100/night-ish savings to drive 4 minutes up the road. The cafe next door looked good for breakfast, but there was a long line so we went to the Sunrise Cafe down the street.

"Great Value for the Money"
Maureen K, 05 Octobre 2015

When you need to be in southern Maine near Freeport or Portland, this is an ideal location, and a great value for the money. Definitely will return to this hotel in the future when my business and personal needs require returning to Maine.

"Nice place to stay"
fancyfeet48, 04 Octobre 2015

Looks more like an Inn then motel. Beautiful room, very comfortable beds, clean with refrigerator and coffee makers in rooms. Check in offers hot chocolate chip cookies and a friendly staff, they also offer coffee and water, and free newspaper. Pretty pond to sit near. Playground for children and nice swimming pool. There is a cafe on the property, great food.

"Okay, but not as good as it used to be"
genevaRhodeIsland, 03 Octobre 2015

We liked staying here because it is close to Freeport and dog-friendly. But we learned that the property has changed hands (not sure exactly when this happened) and it is definitely not as well-run as it used to be. I had made a reservation, and because we are familiar with the hotel, I knew which type of room we wanted. I thought we were all set until we arrived and had to wait for a fumbling front desk clerk to switch rooms around so we could have the room we had reserved in the first place. How many guests want to wait for half an hour to check in after driving all day? Not many, I'd wager. Then there was the room itself. They seem to have done some "refurbishing" and the results are not good. Our room felt sterile and unwelcoming with its chintzy, ultra modern furnishings. Gone are the cozy duvets we used to love, and the carpet between the two beds was stained with what looked like pizza sauce, and hadn't been vacuumed in a while. Walking my dog uncovered more disappointments. The clean-up bags they have always supplied at the dog exercise area were gone. Not sure if they were simply out or had been discontinued, but it was a good thing I had brought my own. All of the above issues are annoyances, but when I saw signs stacked against a tree, warning that the lawn had been treated with chemicals AFTER my dog had walked all over it, I was furious. If you're spraying poison on the grass, you are NOT dog-friendly, and I feel I should have been warned. So we aren't sure whether we'll be stay at this hotel again. They don't even have the discounts at the Freeport Cafe anymore. Too bad. It used to be a great hotel.
