Denise Ma and her colleagues were extremely helpful and made our stay enjoyable. The room was comfortable. The hotel is well placed in the TST area and close to transport links. Would consider using this hotel again when visiting Hong Kong.
Better than expected. Some point that improvement needs. - No soundproofing (when other guests ,same floor talk out loud(yes,Indian). - we can know people upstairs use shower , - No water tanks to refill water(but only have vending machines just for sales) - room renovated is. Good.
I stayed in this hotel last month for a night. I have booked the hotel through trip.com and i found the location very good as good connectivity for bus and metro. its near to market and indian restaurants. i have been given a room at first floor and the room was good in size but when i checked in i found that the air conditioning not working properly i informed the housekeeping people they sent someone he checked and said it will be cool in some time. I went outside and came around 11.30 pm the room was not cool and the ac was not working again i complained they sent someone and he said its ok its very hot otherwise. I asked them its midnight what you want me to wait whole night i need to go early morning and i need to rest. i requested them to allot other room and the front desk boy agreed and said he will inform me. in few minutes i got a call from a girl and she said they dont have any other room and they can give me a fan in room as a favour to me i denied and asked for other room which they allotted on other floor and when i went there i found that room to be like a store room so so small that i need to put my luggage on bed. the wash basin is inside room no charging point nothing in the room but as it was post midnight i have to sleep in that room. they dont provide any bell boy u need to take your luggage to other room also . they shout on guest and dont even provide even water in room and the reason is covid but its over still they using same things. i felt i wasted my money to stay there. pathetic hotel service i wont ever stay there.
To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to file a complaint against Best Western Hotel Kowloon. Sept 20, 2024 at around 2:30AM, I had unknowingly stepped on a hypodermic needle (the one used for insulin pens) that was found in the carpet in my room. I had called hotel management and they sent in a couple of personnel who administered first aid. However, as I still fear the possible blood-borne diseases one can get from used needles, I had asked the on-shift manager "Candy" for Best Western to cover my medical bills (consultations, lab tests, etc) since this happened in their property. Candy refused and took the needle. I am complaining about the following items: 1. The lack of regard from the on-shift manager which adds to my stress 2. The negligence of the staff for missing the needle in the carpet which may possibly contain blood-borne diseases 3. The overall lack of regard to my safety and well-being as their guest. 4. The mental stress this incident caused me which is physically showing as hives (my body's allergic response to stress) I am looking forward to your response. I am expecting proper compensation from this incident and not brushed off.
Request, no, insist on a room in the newly renovated floors, otherwise you will want to find somewhere else to stay. Ugly brown carpeting, brown woodwork, the rooms are tiny. Staff are genuinely helpful and pleasant. Plenty of restaurants nearby. And the photo which is on the left-hand side of this review must be of some other hotel!
This hotel was selected as a stop over for one night so I selected a 3 Star hotel knowing thet standard it may be setting low expectations. The hotel is a 45 min drive from the airport costing HK$300 one way and located in the heart of Kowloon next to a construction site, so noisey. The rooms are small as are the beds, if you are 6' your feet will hang over the end, but they are firm. The beds are for short people. The air conditioning is locked and doesn't work, so be prepared for a stuffy very noisey night. There is a jug for tea and coffee, but not complimentary bottled water. I was on the 8th floor and the rooms are very small and no entrance hall made it even noiser when people went past. You can hear every door open and close in the hall. The main room had plaster peeling off the walls. The bath room is a shocker, half applied solastic with mould everywhere, grubby grates, no tissues, cheap soap and what felt like 2nd hand towels. Overall a very poor experience and not supportive of having a 3 star rating, closer to 1 star. I won't be staying here ever again due to the very poor state of the room and the near hour drive to get here.
The room too old, so dirty as not clean the room before sending the guest, we got the connecting room so noisy from next room door.
Terrific location! Located very centrally with so many shops around. Walkable to Avenue of Starts and K21. A very lively but not overwhelming area. Easy to catch cabs and take the public transport (about 5min walk or so) Rooms were comfortable and spacious for the price paid. We even had space to keep our luggages open! We were here to celebrate NYE, and it was within walking distance towards the fireworks spots!
We always stay in a Best Western Hotel when we travel but this one was a huge disappointment! The exterior of the hotel and the lobby do not match with the interior of the rooms. Room is very old, not tastefully decorated and the bathroom had mold on the floor and against the bathroom door. The bathroom also had a strong mold smell. Our room was cleaned but dirty coffee mugs was not replaced with clean ones, and we had to ask for a plug for the bathtub. Some of the staff at reception was very unfriendly and not helpful at all (please note that this was not the case with all the reception staff).
Rude staff Only one functional outlet, they don't even provide an extension outlets to charge multiple gadget. Room was too small Bathroom was dirty with urine stain in toilet on arrival Towels were torn with holes and had stains. Bedsheet also had stain marks It is not worth it
The room smells musty, everything is old, there's a lot of dust. And there was an advance authorization from my credit card. The hotel said a refund would be given within 14 days, but until now I have not received a refund. I emailed the hotel to inquire about the refund progress. But there was no reply. I feel very bad service.
One of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in. Very dirty and no maintenance for at least 5-10 years. Old and ugly. Room super small. No heater when HK is just damn cold. I wish i had read the reviews. Also super pricey for HKD 1500 for one night ! Understand it was high season, but such a super pricey dirty room!
Very disappointing for six of us, the rooms are dusty and dirty, bathroom is very small, no housekeeping unless you put a sign outside the door. Window curtains are torn and filthy, dust everywhere. It was a shame of what they charged for no service and no cleanliness, I would not recommend anyone. the only thing good is the location.
The hotel's lobby is shabby. The furniture is old the cushions look like they have not been cleaned and the smell of cigarettes longer strongly through our entire lobby For the room, the bathroom are old, the bathtub floor is peeling. The basic necessities such as soap and shampoo are in small quantities, only good for one guest and for one usage. We paid for two guests The electricity outlets are at the bottom of the panels and very difficult to reach. The shower is difficult to turn on and off. The door lock wasn't working and it took several efforts for it to work. It is the result of a combination of the door itself malfunctioning and the desk receptionist didn't key in the correct room number The breakfast buffet was tasteless. We had terrible experience s
Unfortunately I found this hotel to be very old and a bit rundown. An old danky smell and leaky ceiling in the bathroom did not help the place. Would not stay here again. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful which made it bearable for the short time I was there.
The lobby looks nice when you walk in. Everything after that is a disaster. The room has rust and mold everywhere in the bathroom. Some stains on the carpet and walls. The bed was so bad you could feel the springs in the mattress. You only got clean towels by asking at the front desk every day for a towel change. Leaving the clean room sign on the door gets ignored. While the staff was okay and helpful when we asked for some information, the room comes pretty much bare. Two bottles of water a day. No hand towels!!! They expect you to use the bath towels for everything. One night we had to call as there was no hot water after being out all day. Other times it took a long time running the water to get some hot water. The room was painfully small. You could not fit two people in the bathroom unless one was in the shower/tub. I am surprised Best Western does not inspect their hotels to make sure they are up to the standards of the brand. This one is definitely NOT. The pictures on the hotel site must be from when the hotel was first built. I am sure nothing will be done to improve the rooms as the reply seems to be the same from management to every review.
My sister in law booked and paid in advance for 13nites . My impression of best Western brand is a well known hotel chain in north America and around the world, so I decided to stay there for 13 nights. But while on plane to Hong Kong, I had time to read reviews of that hotel I already wanted to cancel the booking but since my sister in law already paid for all 13 nights I decided to give it a try for one night . Lo and behold I decided to leave the next day and went to park hotel just next door but was told that their only vacancy is 3 days in the future which I made a cancellable reservation for the remainder of my trip. That I had to endure 3 more notes at best Western and on that night my wife and I found a bunch of crawling insects on the desk of our room. The hotel staff suggested to find a different room for us, the first room we saw there was dripping from the ceiling in the bathroom and we were shown a second room which was bigger and tidier than our first room with insects. At this point we had to stay a few more nights because we don't want to move and move again to park hotel. My biggest complaint is that through the remaining nights of stay, nobody said they were sorry or apologized for our unhappy stay. I don't think I need to say any more of our experience at that hotel.
1. Smells like cigarette smoke in your non smoking room 2. Hotel keys not working 3. Rooms not clean 4. Room looks like 1980s 5. Does not clean the room every sunday 6. Breakfast is egg, beans, ham, hashbrown, toast, coffee and orange juice everyday 365 days of the year.
Ok so first of all FORGET WHAT pictures you see on their website. When I checked in on 12th March I got a room on a high floor. 12th floor. Shocked. Old room. Dark brown all around. No proper lights. Dull and saddening feeling. I asked the room to be changed and they moved me down to the 3rd floor which was a HANDICAP ROOM but bright and had a sofa too. My trip and stay was for 9 nights on business THIS HOTEL STILL WILL NOT CLEAN YOUR ROOM DAILY and will send you fresh towels and water to drink ONLY IF YOU ASK For it despite hanging CLEAN ROOM green sign outside. The restaurant shuts early so if you want food late at night go out and look for it . Some of the staff at the housekeeping are outright rude. Even if you can them for coffee satchets and water when they come they'll rudely tell you to wait JUST IN CASE you didn't ask for towels and ask her at the time THEY'RE STILL IN COVID DISTANCE MODE which is ridiculous as Hong Kong has opened up and so should they!!! Wonder why they just can't cooperate and leave this attitude that we owe them something. Isn't it the opposite? They owe us service for price paid !! Well some of their training is a flaw looks like where customers can go to hell is one motto probably. Anyway I leave you to the rooms old and new to look at. Enjoy Hong Kong it's a BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE!
Im writing this while i cant sleep because this hotel is disgusting. I cant believe my self this exist at all. I dont know if this hotel is really best western hotel! Disgusting really bad! I hope the GM will read this i want a full refund of my money! Room 301 308 310
Smells cigarette everywhere, I couldn't imagine where I was, worst hotel ever I have been! Trash all over, stinky and creepy, need some remodeling ungent! Run away! Paid 400usd for 2 nights wtf, S.O.S
Location is really good, the room is small as other hotels in HK. The hotel is old and need some renovation. It is not clean as well. A bit disappointed as it is not up to the standard of normal best westerm hotel in my opinion.
Filthy carpet dirty bathroom bed very hard to sleep room very small, not coffe or sugar or bottles of waters like it says in the website.front desk very friendly and helpful, is very noisy in the morning
To whom it may concern, I booked and keep on calling the reception because asking about my booking but they couldn't see any of my booking yet that supposedly from Booking. com (12:30AM) and its given 12-45:AM they called me finally because they see my booking so I could finally check in Deadly tired and exhausted . 1am i arrived and the guy helped me to check-in, everything was fine until he ask me literally " MAY I ASK WHAT TIME ARE YOU CHECKING OUT TOMORROW?" I WAS LIKE Seriously????? I just came and waited for your system hours before my booking arrived and I answer back " can I be around 12nn" HE SAID STRAIGHT NO IT SHOULD BE 11 AND THAT REALLY PISSED ME OFF BECAUSE WHY ARE YOU GONNA ASK IF YOU KNEW ABOUT THE CHECK OUT POLICY??????? I don't get it. And what pisses me more was He told me YOU WERE UPGRADED TO DELUXE ETC. and I asked ohh That's why now it make sense whyd you ask me if what time I'm going out because you gonna give me the DELUXE ROOM which I did not choose and I originally booked the regular rooms. I feel downgraded to be HONEST and they were worried that I might get the DELUXE ROOM dirty because I don't belong or deserve to stay there a little longer. And btw when I came to the room IT WAS LITERALLY A TOWELS AND SOAPS AND TOOTHBRUSH WERE THERE. NOT EVEN TEA Like it was stuck up and will get cleaned if someone booked it. I work in Hotel and F&B industry as well but I never get this ride or insensitive to the guests. And the whole stay was ruined that i could not even get a proper sleep because of that. I definitely regret bookimg this hotel and thinking not to go back again it might be only few hundreds I paid but I should have had nice food somewhere than paying a hotel that will make you feel so small. Francis
Somewhat ambivalent about this place. It's very convenient, the bus from the airport stops right outside. The shopping precinct and major tourist attractions are all within a comfortable walk and there are plenty of good restaurants around BUT the room was a bit wanting: the bathroom, whilst functioning OK could do with a bit of a facelift, the veneer on the back of the door was coming away and some of the fittings had definitely seen better days, The furnishings were old and scratched, the wall-mounted T.V. is at right angles to the bed, the air-conditioner fan was a trifle noisy, the ceiling needed painting and I found the remains of someone's take-away meal under the bed. The tea-making facilities were minimal - only 2 tea-bags! Staff were friendly and amenable to a fault. I'm not sure if it deserves a 3-star rating.
I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. That was a disaster and I won't come back anymore. During these 5 nights, I asked for cleaning my room but front desk staff said cannot go in my room for cleaning due to coronavirus period. I am not quarantine guest!! But they just this is to avoid cross infection, what an excuse!!! So, I am giving you germs while staying in your hotel, why your hotel still accept my stay? And I need to clean the room and even toilet by myself!!! I don't suggest you guys to stay in this hotel, no cleaning service, no luggage keep. Nothing and nothing.
The front-desk reception has average conversational skills. Needs further training. Location of this hotel is good which is why I had chosen this hotel as I had stayed in this hotel 4 years back when it was Ramada Hotel. The rooms are pretty big because I had been upgraded due to the fact that there is low occupancy and I had asked for room on a higher floor. After settling in, the nightmare begins. The Wifi started to slow down to a near halt after 16:00 and continues to be slow till around 9 am the next day and these was even after several attempts to inform the front desk to gets their IT to fix the problem. My net-analyser and personal Firewall even detached hackers and massive downloading activities on the hotel network! However all complains and suggestions was gone to waste when the response from the IT was that we are running a full bookings, so too many users. That was a lie as the I didn't see lines of people checking in or checking out, did not see any guest walking around in the lobby or even the corridors, for that matters the lifts are not even busy. Hotel amenities are very minimal with consist of only a pair of tooth brush. No free or paid bottles of Drinking water and there are even cockroaches in the bathroom! I will not even recommend this hotel whether for Business or for Leisure travel. You cannot work in the room with such bad Wifi and for Leisure travel, you can't even open the web-pages of Trip Advisor needless to say Google Maps to look up tourist spots. In the better hotels during this Corona-Virus period of time, the hotel will station security at the entrance to measure temperature of guest to keep all in-house guest safe. But this hotel will have their reception stop you when you are approaching the front desk to measure your temperature before you can approach them. This is a selfish gesture of the hotel staff protecting themselves more then everybody in the hotel.
We arrived at the hotel for our 2 night stay around 4 pm. Check in was ok and staff were friendly. We were upgraded to a room on the 8th floor, with a bit of a view. The room and furnishings were quite dated. A kettle was available with 2 cups, but no coffee/tea supplies. No bottled water. It was suggested to boil the water before drinking. The heat in the room did not work and we were quite cold during the night. We called the next morning and they provided a space heater and extra blankets One of the few Best Westerns we have stayed at that does not include breakfast. Good central location, close to mrt and many shops and restaurants A decent hotel, but I would not consider this a "plus " hotel.
Great location, it's a little tired and worn, but the room size is good. The staff are professional and friendly. The bed was two single beds pushed together which made it a little uncomfortable but overall it was okay.
The location of hotel is very good but rooms are dusty and small. We took accommodation without breakfast. There were kettle and cups in the room, only bath towels (big ones) and towel for feet, dental kits. Enough to spend the night.
Going there From the airport, modes of transportation available was train, bus, taxi and shuttle from the tour guide. We took the tour guide. Sitting from a car on a 45 minute ride alliws you to marvel at the scenery as you go to the hotel. Location It is in Tsim Sha Tsui, in kowloon were virtually all the must go to shops are located. Its just a few hundred meters away from the avenue of stars and the like. The food It was pretty decent, a very familiar breakfast for everyone. But if the menu is not to your liking, the hotel is virtually surrounded by restuarants. Big and small. Access to public transportation The train system is just a walk away, the front door faces a main thoroughfair, so taxi and bus stop is just at your doorway. Nice right? The Room Not that modern but it will do. Since all you would do is go around the city 90% of the time cause there is a lot of places to go with so little time all you would want to do there is sleep a little, take a bath, organize your shopping bags and off you go again. Verdict We will definitely check back in everytime we are in Hong Kong
the hotel have a good location that easy to find ,the staff is very nice , service is better than the hotel Bestwestern hotel Grand hongkong ,good price at the special time during the Hongkong is very ,,,
We find this hotel in a very good location, so we booked here again for our pre-new year holiday. Lots of restaurants and bakeshops in the vicinity Near the hotel is wellcome grocery store.that sells grapes ans cherries in very discounted rate.
Nicely located in area where there are may restaurants. Is well located for the Metro/MRT/MTR , Bus Service, Taxi. If you get the better rooms, then the hotel is good to be at. First stay was in a very basic room and was quite surprised, lets say a little taken aback at its "BASICness". On a side note, most of them are very friendly and warm but a couple can do better or leave the hospitality industry. Concierge Team is very helpful. Housekeeping folks are very good too.
Incredible experience! I walked into my room and happened to find another guy inside :) which it basically scares the hell out of me and I went down to concierge immediately. Concierge staff said to me: I'm sorry, the rooms were overbooked. We will refund to you. I wonder if this had happened many times because people just doesn't seem to be too surprised about this circumstance. If you are traveling to Hong Kong, please avoid booking this hotel due to their serious management failure and system errors, which may end up having you walking down the street finding another hotel with another pricing during midnight time. Thanks!
convenient location. room is much smaller.than expected; bed is not comfortable because it was made by combining 2 twin beds which has a hard middle part that made me felt very uncomfortable. The curtain cannot be completely closed, there was a gap that lets outside lights got in.
It located at Tsim She Tsui city centra and very close to shop. just walking from hotel to shopping mall ( K11 , Mira Plaza and the one ) around 10 - 15 minutes , also very closed to subway station (Tsim sha Tsui and Tsim sha Tsui east ) I'm so happy to stay here with my friends as the reception staff free upgrade the room to us with the bigger room . Reception and concierge staff are willing to explain to us good place to eat and shop . even I keep asking them information , they are so helpful to help us . keep it up with the nice service !! I will come back Hong Kong to stay here again .
Excellent location in town. Easy access with MTR to travel around. Close to star ferry terminal and really recommend to have a ferry ride towards HK island side. The view is worth to see. Room is a bit small but cheap price. Nice staffs and friendly service. Keep it up. Would stay here again.
Hotel location is in Tsim Sha Tsui area and is very convenient. Walking just less than 10 mins to East TST station or TST station. There are also many restaurants nearby and just 10 mins walk to knutsford terrace for drinking. Room size is adequate, even I carry a big luggage box but I have enough spaces to walk around. Room is clean and tidy. Price is cheap. Staff are nice, kind and helpful. Thank you for all of your help.
We stayed here again and it was just as comfortable. We had a king size room this time and for 2 adults and 1 child, the bed and the room was larger than expected. The hotel room itself is just as I reviewed last year. The staffs however have changed. There's some trainees at the front desk when we checked-in and they were not as smiling. Not as friendly but oh well, overall stay was uneventful. It served its purpose.
I stayed at this hotel for 1 night on my way back from a business trip in China. The hotel is basic, and my room was small and dated in terms of decor and facilities but clean and to be fair that's all I wanted for an overnight stay. The bed was comfortable and clean. The hotel had free WiFi and the signal was good. Location was OK, not as good as other hotels I've stayed in in Kowloon but no big issue - a short walk to Nathan Road, or the Harbour. Breakfast was overpriced in my opinion and didn't look very good, so I ate outside of the hotel. I would happily stay again, but do have some other first choice hotel options before this one.
I was a bit dissapointed on the rooms, they were small and very dated. This hotel needs a new Maintenence and Houskeeping Manager. Bathroom is a bit disgusting moldy around the tub and almost all the corners. Bed hard as a rock, If location is what you want, this is a good place but dont expect anything more than that. I work for an airline so i travel a lot, i know when a hotel is a good value.
I along with my family had stayed in this hotel in start of Jan'19. Room size was terribly small, though clean but old fashioned. Breakfast is not up to mark and I had to skip the breakfast. False Fire alarm went on frequently but no one paid attention. It ruined my stay in Hongkong. Not recommended!!
Came here and booked deluxe garden view but was given a superior room. another couple that book the superior room had the same size and layout as our room. After calling the reception, best western plus Kowloon insist this to be the superior room. a bed so small is not deluxe. and their tagline is stay with people who care... unbelievable. a superior room and deluxe room with garden view has 40 dollar difference before tax.
Very courteous stuff. Excellent loaction. Good for family. Rooms are a wee bit small, but that's to be expected in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Has some great affordable eateries around. Very happening place and most important, near the metro stations. Looking forward to visit again.
Rooms are small, same as other hotel rooms in big cities like Tokyo and Hong Kong, room price is relatively cheap compared with other hotels in Hong Kong with is suitable for people who travel with budget like us Hotel is located at Tsim Sha Tsui, many shops, shopping malls are in walking distance. Victoria Harbour and MTR station are 10-15 mins walk from hotel, which was easy for us to do site seeing and getting around Facilities in room was a bit aged as expected, but dun worry, hotel staff are willing to help out especially the cleaning lady and reception staff.
It is the first time I travel to Hong Kong, and stay in this hotel. I think the hotel is excellent, like perfect transport network, inexpensive price, nice staff etc. The most excellent thing is they gave me a free upgrade to suite. I'll return when I travel Hong Kong again.
It was my third time to stay in this hotel. Although the hotel room is small and old style, the room price is relatively cheap compared with other hotels in Hong Kong which are suitable for people who travel with a budget like us. Also, hotel is located at Tsim Sha Tsui, there are many big shopping malls like Harbour City and The ONE, Victoria Harbour and MTR station are 10-15 mins walk from the hotel, which was easy for us to do site seeing and getting around. Facilities in room was a bit aged as expected, but dun worry, hotel staff are willing to help out especially the cleaning lady and reception staff.
I used to visit this hotel for 4 times, a friendly hotel with a very good location, it is right next to the city center, the train station is only 5-minute walk from hotel. Reception staff are also very helpful and friendly, answering all the questions with a professional manner. The room looks like small and old but it is actually clean and comfortable. Basically it provides everything that I need in the room like bath towels toiletries.
Dirty tired rooms, smelly room , chipped paintwork , stained carpet , no toiletries , phone doesn't work in room , dirty bedding , stains on the “clean” towels , dirty shower curtain , shower curtain not cubicle , no late check out or courtesy room , air con doesn't work . Public toilets downstairs smell terrible , lift slow . I would suggest you pay little extra and get a whole lot more ..
Budgeted hotel centrally located rooms are very small for a family of 4 people , those booking thru agents beware..do check itinerary what they offer n finally deliver it to you...hotel staff is very cooperative n humble..
We liked the location, but the hotel quality was poor. Yes, the pictures are deceptive. So, lower your expectations for the room quality. The staff seemed okay but never helped for directions. They preferred us to contact concierge, who was there only once in the entire week. Wi-Fi is poor.
This place is an absolute dump of a hotel and it's very expensive when I stayed there. I went to Hong Kong for the Global Sources Summit and the HKTDC show. All hotels raise their rates when these trade shows are in town. But this place is so dirty, not at all kept up. This place wouldn't be able to charge $40 USD in Bangkok. Best Western should be ashamed to have their name associated with this dump.
I booked the room based on the pictures from Google. My room on the 11th floor looked nothing like that. The entire floor is run down and my room was tiny and had a bit of room freshener smell that I didn't like. The air conditioner even at full power was anemic. The fixtures were very dated and worn. The carpet was filthy and multiple stains. What bothered me most is the fact that the fresh bath towel had bunch of hair on it.
We unfortunately lost our reservation in Kowloon and were told there were rooms at this hotel. I looked up the price on hotels.com before going in. When we were told the price and it was $100 more per night, I was also told I had to pay for all four nights at that time or I wasn't going to get the "special rate". I had no choice at this point. The front desk was very rude!!! We have stayed at Best Western numerous times so I expected a certain degree of cleanliness. We were appalled when we entered the room. Very unkept, the table had huge stains on it, the bathroom was terrible. On the ceiling was black mold, the vents were all very dirty, dust, etc. The bathroom door was completely covered with scrapes and gouges, mold all over the tub and other areas of the bathroom. I took pictures of the room and sent them to "Best Western Customer Care", what a waste of time, they contacted the hotel and the hotel said there wasn't only mold! All you had to do was look at the pictures. Customer care did NOTHING for us. Do NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!!!! it is terribly overpriced and dirty ! We will never stay at a Best Western again, don't believe the pictures as shown in the photos!!!!!!!!
I hate giving bad reviews, but OK I have to admit I didn't even stay the night. Thinking it was on a par with other best western hotels, I paid the equivalent of about 130GBP (1327 HK$) and expected a nice comfortable hotel worthy of 3 or 4 stars with a comfort level like other Best Westerns that I have stayed at. I was “upgraded” to “suite” on the 18th floor which had no lift - the rickety lift stopped at the 17th. Very cramped Lift, tatty decor, shabby reception and dingy corridors did not bode well. On arrival in my room after one flight of stairs hauling my bags to 18th floor I entered a low ceiling roof into large-ish room with a hard bed, low ceiling, noisy aircon and a short bed. I had intended my last night to be a comfortable one after a long business trip of travel in China. I complained and was offered another room on the lower floor - same story. Unfortunately booking.com reservation and I had already paid and a refund was refused. It's a measure of my desperation that I just handed my key back to reception and found a last-minute five-star hotel room on offer for about £20 less than I had paid. So I can't even call this a budget Hotel. Unless you're really desperate for one night and can't find anywhere else don't do it. Otherwise find somewhere else - anywhere even if it's a bit further from the TST area. It's well worth paying extra to get a far better hotel of which there are plenty in HK
Located near MTR and shopping venues, the hotel itself is low modest (not that elegant- looking compared to most other low budget Hongkong hotels we've been to). Rooms are small like all other Hkg hotels, but clean enough. Staff members are courteous -- really helpful from the very start was that very young, slim male staff at the concierge (I was not able to get his name). The frontdesk checked us in a smoking room; we were NOT asked to choose a no-smoking room. Our room was even mistakenly double-assigned for another guest. Despite my being a Best Western Rewards member, my card was not honored. Wifi signal is fair to poor.
The photo images of the room are nothing compared to the real room. The rooms are extremely small.. The hotel staff are very rude and arrogant from the receptionist to the house keeping staff.. I stayed in the 18th floor which apparently the lift doesn't operate to. I had to take the Lift upto the 17th floor with my luggage and walk the stairs to the 18th floor. The staff weren't even there to carry the luggage. I had horrible holiday and I won't recommend this to anyone.
Very convenient It was great experience to stay at best western plus hotel, for me HK is always expensive but compare to other hotel this one is fully equipped with all amenities and room size is bigger and cleanliness of the room.I love everything in the hotel. Room is very good. If I will comeback, I will stay at best western plus hotel. Receptionist and staff are very polite.
The location was really convenient! The staff were friendly and took care of customers a lot. The bed was comfortable. It was great experience to stay at best western plus hotel , for me HK is always expensive but compare to other hotel this one is fully equipped with all amenities and room size is bigger. If I will comeback, I must stay here.
We booked the best western Kowloon through bookings .com,not blaming them .they gave us this tiny room with a double bed which was pushed against the wall .we stayed one night then asked to be moved ,they gave us a room with two singles with a couple of inches more room.the first room had toe nail clippings on the floor .the second one had a used slipper under the bed .plus you had to put the kettle on the floor to plug it in .the bathroom OMG you couldn't turn around .dont know how a big person would manage .I reckon they saw us coming .it cost us nearly $1200 for seven nights .
Lousy place to even spend a night. Was woken up at 5.30 am with the smell of cigarette smoke and paint coming through the air conditiong vent, though this is a non smoking hotel. The duty manager was not helpful at all.. do not recommend this place to anyone...
Kowloon-side Best Western Plus is a five minute walk from MTR Exit A1, also walking distance to Nathan Road. Our room was old, dark and dusty and smells of cigarette smoke. We stayed on the fifth level that may be looking to a future renovation since the second floor was already newly refurbished. A lot of tourist groups were also billeted there. Unforgettable were the two elevators that were so small and cramped, one of which broke down at the height of lobby traffic. Not a place I would stay in again.
I booked a room for my guest in Best Western via Agoda.com as the location of this hotel is very convenience but I got a problem on the payment due to a unfriendly policy after I made the reservation online. Luckily, the Front Desk Manager - Vanessa Cheng, she shows me her professionalism to help me solve my problem in a efficiency way. She is friendly and polite, and I could say that she is a five-starred staff in this business hotel. I will book this hotel for my upcoming guest when they visit HK.
Room stank of urine and it was so dusty. Around 3am I found a bed bug in my bed. We were given a new room BUT my father woke up with a bite so this room was infested as well. We asked for a refund and management refused..?? The assistant manager said this is the first time it's happened BUT according to some reviews here, it's obviously a running case. They are LYING about this problem. Pictures are of squashed bug and it's BLOOD on the bed. AVOID at all cost. Horrible service.
I travel yearly and stay at many hotels since 2016 , this hotel I did not care for. For the amount I spent for 3 days in Hong Kong it really was not worth it. The rooms were too small for two people the bed was so close to the ground I felt like I was in a square box. The pictures they show fool you, the bathroom had rust spots around the tub. The hair dryer was awful took forever to dry your hair or style it. Then as we leave to return to the airport I was ripped off by a taxi driver upon arriving saying I owe more however the meter said 240 hkd I gave him 300 he proceeded to say 50 more I had no change so gave an extra 100 = 400 hkd I gave him and he never offered my change back. That was not cool hidden fees not acceptable to me! I will never return to that hotel or Hong Kong. The people are very rude in HK.
Everything about this hotel was disgusting. Rooms dirty. Wires hanging from ceiling. Chipped bath and toilet. Breakfast very basic. Ham floating in hot water. Hash browns mixed with chicken nuggets. Warm water for tea and coffee. Didn't know about boiling water
Booked hotel in a hurry. By far worst hotel ever stayed in and stayed in and stayed in alot the fact that this is 3 star does.not mean basic hygiene can be ignored. We were advised by reception that the room had been upgraded to no extra cost; this was without us requesting the same. This was a lie since on entering room welcomed by stench of urine; dust and uncovered sheets to find a stain on bedding Reception offered to change bedding and not the room. Complained and was told no extra rooms until after 3 next day.Our visit was for.2 nights only. I persisted and was told that there was another room but smaller. We changed rooms for a marginal.improvement in bathroom colour. On booking.com.this was advertised as a 4 star but I would give it a 1.Never stayed in a hostel but imagine this would be a like.for like comparison.Terrible pictures very misleading and woke up scratching
Walking into this small a room after paying US$ 150 seemed unreal to me. It was literally just a small bed with enough room to walk around the bed, and a small toilet with shower attached. Not seen such a small room in 20 years!
Stayed in this Hotel for 3 days. The first day was not so good, as we were given Wheel Chair people room, even though we are not wheel chair people. There were many challenges, as the bath room mirror was so low that myself can not shave and my wife can not dress up. Moreover it was on the first floor, it was like we were sleeping on the roadside. Staff are a bit rude and not ready to help visitors. Location of this Hotel is good !! Overall, this Hotel can be avoided, if possible.
Without a doubt one of the worst hotels that I have had the misfortune to stay in whilst on business. Whilst it's location is very convenient that's were the appeal of this dump stops. Old, tired, rundown, rude staff I could go on for a lot longer. Bed was uncomfortable, sagging in the middle and came with it's very on set of bed bugs. Linen was a old and no longer white. The breakfast (if you could call it that ) was drastically overpriced with a simply shocking choice on offer. How Best Western even allow this place to be a part of the Plus program is beyond me. Don't be lazy, keep scrolling and keep looking for another place to stay. You have been warned.....stay here at your own peril.
Compared to the other Best Western hotels in other countries, this hotel badly needs renovation. Amenities are complete though and Staff are well trained and responsive to guest needs......Location too is ideal as it is in Tsimshatsui. Many good things about this hotel but simply needs an upgrade
A ordinary middle class hotell, smal rooms and dining room who leave a lot to wish Noisy and like a school kitchen. No or bad Internet Wifi The hotell are located well, but need to be renovated too meet today standard of expectaions
I've stayed at many BW and this one should be ashamed to call itself a BW Plus. Found someone else's socks, two days in a row, on the floor and tangled up in drapes. Instant coffee instead of a real coffee maker. Kettle had to be placed on the floor for accss to outlet. No face cloth provided. Breakfast was abysmal. Alleged business Center did not exist. Let's cation was only attribute of this BW property. Run, run as fast as you can.
Old hotel which haven't seen any renovation since Hongkong joined China. Shower , furniture all looks very old and well used. Window in the room almost doesn't exist and there is no light coming through , so make sure what you get when check-in. Good location and I had reasonable cheap rate 50£ / night.
I am staying in room no.1806 here nobody is concerned about the issues such as Wifi is really very very slow just buffering can't view anything for more than one minute. They have bathtub but can't use it as the water is warm not hot the temperature outside is 13 to 17 degree so as the bath tub gets filled the water becomes cold.I had bought these things to their notice again and again but no one is concerned. The whole room has socket near minibar which means there is no socket to charge your phone or laptop next to the table but there is no socket anywhere near the table nor the bed so that's funny how can one charge the phone or laptop. They have a locker inside the wardrobe but it doesn't have battery which means somebody cannot use the locker to keep the valuables Would be staying here till 7th of January will not recommend neither return back.
Best Western plus, Kowloon . First night, 2 Star.. Smelly bathroom, very cramped rooms. Requested room change.. Now 2.5 star.. Slightly better.. Location excellent for tsim Shai tsui.. Walk to ferry and boardwalk easy... Very convenient to multiple restaurants but all of hgkg is full of restaurants..many others close by hotels probably better choice
We arrived very late at night. The room was tolerable. Too tired to do much of anything. Next morning, I awoke with a bed bug by my pillow and in my duvet. Checked the head of the bed...found many more bed bugs. Our sons in the adjoining room also found bed bugs. The manager of the hotel came to our room and confirmed the bed bug situation. He offered us another room. An upgrade. No, thank you. We're out of here. It was my first experience finding live, blood-filled bed bugs in my hotel room. Miraculously, we have no sign of bed bugs in our luggage or on our persons. It was a very distressing experience.
Convenient location within walking distance of the MTR. The hotel and rooms are dated but well maintained, clean and fairly comfortable. Efficient check in and check out. Good option if you're on a budget visit.
Not a place for Indians. No vegetarian option in breakfast buffet. My wife and kids were having bread-butter when my cab arrived. My wife wanted to take her half-eaten bread slice out of the dining area so that she and kids can eat it on their way but they were denied so. They were forced to keep the half eaten bread slice in the dining area. They should come and learn what hospitality is from our Indian hotels.
I booked this hotel through the website which showing 4 stars rated and good pictures. Unfortunately the first day I step in to the room I was tears. The worst experience that I ever had. This hotel rated at 4 stars. Unfortunately we found that it not even worth to get 1 stars. I had to get the room changed at reception because the first room was in terrible condition. First the toilet's door was broken and the flush was in bad condition. Secondly, the beds were old and the bedroom was so dirty including the floor, tiles, sink and the bathtub. The carpet is smelly. Thirdly, the ceiling is so low until I could touch it. The receptionist refused to changed even I had points out everything. After I insisted, finally they change it for me. Unfortunately it still the same ‘Dirty'! And became smaller than the first room. I am not against small room but I really could not accept ‘DIRTY' expecially for the 4 star rated hotel. And it is exceptionally small and smelly. I had booked for 8 night stayed. This is only the 1st night, I don't know how I could be survive for the rest of the night staying in this bad condition room.
We booked BW at last min after an airbnb mix up Pros to start with the location is great walking distance to loads to pubs and restaurants and also subway station. Airport bus stops right outside the hotel. We had a corner room on the 11th floor and it was really spacious! 7/11 just round the corner! Couple of cons- yes the hotel is dated and could do with an upgrade but it was considerly cheaper than other hotels in area. Lifts were v v slow and tiny one morning we waited almost 10 mins. Could hear a lot of noise from room next door. Giving it an average review as we did pay 200 a night which was cheaper than other HK hotels but not really what I would expect for that price per night saying that I would stay again if in HK (just hopefully a cheaper rate booking in advance)
Rooms were falsely advertised. They were extremely poor quality, small, cramped, smelly and dirty. Sheets had blood stains but reception spoke poor English, and therefore couldn't put in a complaint. Rooms are far too pricey for a very very poor stay. Spend your money elsewhere. We are seeking a refund.
What you see in the photos of the rooms is absolutely false. The rooms are small and smells of cigarette smoke. The first room we were booked in had a bunch of hair on the carpet. The breakfast is limited to basics and the same every morning. I would not recommend this place to anybody.
This is one of the most worst hotels i have ever stayed. The room is so old and has a mildew smell. the toilet has a stench and however much you get it cleaned it will not go. the water flow for a bath is not adequate and the internet is useless. the cups in the hotel are not washed. but with all this - after a tired day - try and sleep on the bed - it is like a plank.
Good location with MTR and airport bus close by Hotel is comfortable with clean and spacious rooms although somewhat dated now. Staff are pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast is adequate buffet selection with fruit and cereals, if western style bacon and eggs are required there are plenty of food restaurants adjacent to the hotel.
The hotel is totally out of date. When I checked in, I could not find a power adapter. So, I went to the reception and asked if I could have one. The receptionist answered: Around the corner is a 7 Elven shop where I could buy one! Excuse me! The rooms are very small and dirty. Very difficult to find a power plug…had to move the cabinet along the bedside to find one. The stench of cigarette is discussing. This venue is an embarrassment for the Best Western brand!
Decent hotel. No swimming pool. A 3 star hotel. Best part is the location. It's right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. Very little options for Vegetarians in breakfast. Rooms are not spacious but fine. Well maintained. Looks a bit old but fine. Location is the best .
Where do I start. The hotel is about 50 years out of date. Threadbare carpets, peeling wallpaper, lights not working, ancient loud air con, filthy windows, broken sockets, showers falling apart, the stench of cigarette smoke throughout, the list goes on. My Diamond rewards status was totally ignored at checkin. After spending 1 night in our room, which had no internet, a broken shower, hair *everywhere* in the bathroom, and a strong smell of cigarette smoke, I asked to be moved. We were then given an “upgrade” to a “family room”. It was the same size room (tiny - but this is to be expected in Hong Kong), with 2 slightly larger beds pushed together. The stench of cigarette remained, the lights by the bed were not working, and nor was the internet. No sockets by the bed, only by the table on the opposite side of the room. Some ancient wired in radio thing next to the beds which is clearly of no use and should have been disposed of 30 years ago. The catch phrase of our 3 day stay was “shall we pop to Starbucks to get some WiFi”. I will never be returning to this cess pit of a hotel. The only reason this rating can justify a 1 star is because the staff were quick to change our room. But in reality, it made no difference to the quality of our stay. Unfortunately this particular venue is an embarrassment to the Best Western brand and I'd urge someone senior to investigate it further.
Stayed here a night before my morning flight out at HK airport. Check in was very good and friendly. I believe the guy checking me in was Kit. Very nice fellow. I am very pleased with the fruit platter. As a diamond member, it was the first time I received a welcome amenity from any BW hotels. The location was very convenient as it was close to the shops and the MTR. Easy access to TST and TST East stations and it was a great way to connect to the airport express when taking the MTR to Central. Lots of restaurants and very happy to see that the hotel was also close to McDonalds and 7-Eleven for an easy dinner and Octopus reload. I would just recommend the management to consider a touch up of the rooms. The lobby was very neat and clean, so the rooms can be renovated. I would definitely suggest the bathrooms to be refurbished and the room should have new paint, wallpaper, and carpet. Based on the convenience and friendly staff, I can recommend this hotel especially for a short stay.
Best western is just a little walk from Jordan Station. When you go out, there's a lot of restaurant and convenience store. There room is so small, they give free bottled water which is nice. But I dont like there bed, but I think the price is just right. But when I went home I have lots of rashes on my legs, I think it's because of the mattress.
The location of this hotel is very good, walking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is very old and dated but their housekeeping is great. Not much channels on TV but checking in and out is fast.
The hotel is basic but close to the action. Lots of eatery, shopping and transport. It was quiet in the room and had everything required. The beds were a little hard but I slept well after walking so much.
Stayed here for 2 days with family and friends. Terrible hotel, old rooms smelly and low ceilings, very claustrophobic. Front desk not ready to help or listen to any requests. Hotel refused to provide any extra matteress for kids even at a charge. Reason given was they don't have any mattresses available in the hotel. Asked for extra bed- again no - for extra bed I was asked to upgrade the room at double the charge. So I had to manage with a family of 4 in this matchbox sized room. In summary- horrible rooms, creaky lifts, lobby sofa in plastic cover, terrible service and staff. AVOID at ANY COST.
It was a pleasant family stay. I booked the room for 4, expected a bigger room but it was smaller than the expectation. Helpful staffs and services were good. They staffs assisted in guiding us to take the best transport option to travel to shenzhen. Nice view outside from the room we stayed on 10th floor. The beds were too small for 2 people each, although we adjusted somehow. I hope some improvisation can be done.
The location is very best near famous shopping area. But the room is very small and too dark, lift is too small, the breakfast is not many choices and i only eat fruit and bread, breakfast area is small. I stay here with my friends.
A good location in the heart of Kowloon. But that does not make up for the dark, dingy and dirty rooms, rude staff, bad breakfast and terrible wifi. You cannot see much out from the window, because they haven't been cleaned for years and there's a thick layer of black soot outside. No staff knows English! This property brings a bad name to the Best Western brand. I will never stay here, unless they offer it for half the price.
Hotel room was not clean with very old furniture. Room also dampish and smelling bad. Air conditioning was not working well and also climate channels was full of dirt. There were some families were staying at hotel as home. To much noisy even you call reception. If I were in committee i could only give 2 stars to this building. Definitely I'll prefer another place for the next time. The best thing with hotel is position. A bus station across to hotel and subway station also close (5 minutes by walking) If you don't have enough money you can choose this place to stay but if you have you'll be regretful like me.
super poor in sound proof, with super thin walk, can even joint the conversation next door. wifi nvr function well, in fact for show but not able to work. bed like hell, make u body suffer, after the first night. nvr even book this hotel again.
Just okay for sleeping in, not for small kids as the room is so tight and small. No room to roam around. Its close to public transport and lots of restaurants around the area. Close to shopping centre too
Nice place to stay in Hong Kong We are family 4 people who stayed at #18/13 and #18/15 on 04th June 2018 The rooms were nice, big and clean, the beds were comfortable and the A/C worked well. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'll come and stay here again next time. Thanks for everything
Me and my Husband stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and had a good stay here. A big plus of this hotel is the location. Location Plus - Right from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, Indian restaurants, Victoria Harbour, Night Market everything is quite close to this hotel. Also, if you take A21 bus from the airport it drops you right at the hotel. Staff - I had no experience of rude or improper behavior from the staff be it reception or housekeeping or the staff at the cafe. They were really nice and helpful. On the contrary, I would like to the conversation I overheard at the cafe during breakfast were some Indian families complained about staff being rude. In my opinion, the timings are very clearly mentioned in advance for breakfast being served from 7 am to 10 am. Although we always made it before 10 marginally (9:55 at one time) the staff was nice and told to take as much as you want coz it will be picked up at 10 sharp. Which I feel is a nice thing. But they were firm in saying no to people who came in after 10 to which people's response was the staff is rude. People came in late and then blamed the staff for not providing breakfast and being rude which i don't think it correct. They are just doing their job and are abiding to their rules that's nothing wrong. Perhaps we should do our bit to adhere to the timelines. Amenities - We went for a non smoking room. The room is small considering it is hong kong and the costs involved. I think it is just fine for 2 people but if more than 2 then it may get cramped but at this cost this is the size of room you will get in Hong Kong especially in a hotel with such good location. There is a small bathtub also in the room. Wifi was bit of a problem as it kept going on and off so we had to call the reception 3 - 4 times to check on that and get that fixed. Also, the linen were not changed everyday. The bedsheet was the same. Non Changed. Which did upset us a bit. Check In and Check Out process was smooth. So overall it was a good stay for us.
This hotel has very rude staff right from the housekeeping to reception staff who tells me shutup over the phone for complaining for ac since it was not working i requested to change room as they said ac is fine. Ridiculous. Also there is no jet spray available. Rooms are very very small. No swimming pool. Chking is very late 3pm even if it ready they do. Not give to indians before time. There is no fan in the room. U need to call for it. Location of hotel is gud but zero amenities. The first room had no windows. It was suffocating. So they changed to other room which had a horrible view of some very bad old building backdoors which we feel to avoid looking at. Over all not worth paying so much to ramada best western plus hotel. Bad hotel.
Location is great. Nearby MTR Tsm Tsa Tsui and lots of restaurants nearby. Waterfront also just a short walk away. Kowloon Mosque also no far, for Muslims to find halal food near the area. We booked for 4 pax and thought to be given the room for four. However, believed we were given room for 2 but can fit 4. A bit tight two adults to share the bed. WiFi is the worst. You can logged in for 5 minutes and that's it. You have to call receptionist to reset the router. Then you can logged in again - for another few minuets. It keeps on going on like this for the 4 nights we were there. Pretty frustrating actually. In short, the hotel itself is living in the 70s...The room design, concept and bathroom. Amenities just basic. Towels changed every day which is good.Room is just too small for four.
Ok, so this hotel was a good location, you could walk to the waterfront in about 10/15 mins weaving through the streets. I had to get the room changed at reception because the first room smelled of cigarette smoke so bad and was like a shoe box. The second room was a little better, but the beds were hard, old and dated. The hotel in general was below par for its rating. You get what you pay for, lesson learned. Will pay a little more next time to upgrade to a better hotel on Hong Kong island.
The best for western is its location, just 8-10 minute walk from mtr tsim tsa tsui station exit B2. There is also a bus stop just in front of the hotel. And if you love walking it is near also to some tourist spot like the avenue of star, but because its now under renovation, they move it in a diffident place just a few walks from its original spot. Now called as the Garden of stars.
We stayed here for about 8 nights during a Spring break (USA). After reading online reviews, I really didn't expect much of this hotel. I figured so long as it is clean and with daily amenities, it'll be doable. My main concern is also the location. I want a hotel that is close to the MRT or have shops and restaurants within walking distance because I travelled with my senior mother and an 8 year old boy. The location of this hotel is perfect. Everything is accessible. Walking distance to everything, even the Harbor. In the end, my expectations was more than met. The room size which everyone is complaining about is truly not that bad. we had two single beds, with night stand in between. We have an office desk as well and there's still some room for our luggage. I had 2 adult visitors who stayed for a bit while we talked and it was not as crowded. There's plenty of room for 3-4 people, really. And the bed for me was comfortable enough. I had a major back surgery just last year and I actually liked the firm style bed. It helped my back. My mom also didn't think the bed was hard. It's slightly firm but it's not an issue with us. The room was clean, could probably use a brighter shade of color but it's overall, a comfortable stay. They provide 2 bottle of waters daily for free, including bath toiletries and etc. Our housekeeping staffs was super friendly and accommodating. We have 2-3 rotating ladies and we love them. The front desk was always very friendly to us. I don't recall anyone rude, although sometimes, they are some who just wasn't smiling but never rude. Most of them speak English. Not perfect English but understandable. They give directions better. They spoke better English than Best Western Tokyo, where we stayed few years back. I would like to special mention a front desk gentleman named Kevin. I thank him for caring. That really went a long way - After a whole day in Disneyland, my mother became sick. She was tired and was developing flu-like symptoms. She wanted a fruit plate for room service but they didn't have that on their menu. So I went downstairs for breakfast the next day (Pasta House), hoping to order a special fruit plate for her to bring upstairs. I informed the servers, even the manager there that I'm willing to pay a buffet price for a plate of fruits. They denied my request, stating "no bring food out for buffet". I was not even asking for a tray of fruits, just a small plate. The Pasta house downstairs is not to my liking, they do have rude staffs there - 3 of them on different occasions acted very unfriendly and doesn't seem to want to help or do an extra mile. I was so angry that morning that I calmly went to the front desk. I requested to speak to the hotel manager or supervisor. Kevin came and spoke to me, he understood my plea and sent housekeeping to our room with a fruit plate for my mother - free of charge. He also asked how my mother was doing that evening and the next day. I introduced him to my mom 1 day later when she was feeling better. That kind of attention goes a long way for your guest, Best Western Hotel. Sincere or otherwise, it makes your guest feel special and I thank Kevin for that. I offered to pay for that plate upon check out but Kevin insisted, it was a courtesy plate. Kudos to this young man. And because of him, I shall be back in Hong Kong end of May 2018 and will most likely stay there again, if price is within my range.
A poorly decorated lobby - I am not sure why the couch at the lobby (there was only one small couch anyway) was covered with a piece of plastic sheet??? What's wrong with people's mind? The floor is marble floor with disgusting reflection of florescent lights. The back entrance where the luggage concierge is located could have been decorated much better - at least the plants there could have been real plants not fake plants! Our rooms have the nicest view within the hotel as we were on the second highest floor right below the suite. But the window glass was so dirty and the tint was so dated. The beds were old and the carpet smells. It is time to tear everything down and renovate. The bedroom was so dirty in terms of the tiles, the sink and the bathtub. The towels and packaging of the teeth brush were awful! Staff are nice and services are good. However, located in TST, this hotel really needs to do much better than ever! I know a lot of guests do not mind as they came from humble mainland China, and their trip were paid for by their companies. But there are plenty of other guests pay with their own pocket. I felt this hotel was not worth for the price that I paid and does not deserve a good rating. Sorry. TST is an international tourist location, although the majority of tourists now are from China, but the poor quality of the hotel has really destroyed the image of Hong Kong if I were the first time traveler coming to visit Hong Kong. I am very disappointed.
An old hotel but clean and strategic located at TST. 10 min walkto Nathan road, lots of eateries around. Room is spacious, bed is comfortable. everything is fine but the hair dryer is not functioning, they brought me a new one after i made complaint. Only 2 power sockets in the room which is hard to reach, we need to charge the mobile devices on the floor.
I have to say that I do not want to "trash" a business.... so I have tried to find some redeeming quality here... pretty impossible.... except that the staff is very nice and try to be accommodating as they can with the property they are given... I arrived in the evening and checked in, upon seeing my room I was in tears; I am not against small rooms- this property is in a big city and I expected that; old decor and not well appointed - all this I can deal with - the dirt? the filth I cannot. They moved me to what they said is a better room- only a bit larger, but still as dirty, with peeling wallpaper and all- same as the first room. I would say, OK only two rooms out of all of them but the next day they moved to yet another "better room" which had a larger bed, in width, but still 5" high and harder than a rock. We were all trained with iphone "PLUS" and all that PLUS meant better.... and a US brand hotel... Best Western PLUS, well that has to be nice right? Let me list some of my issues - the bed is about 5-6" high, and feels more like a box spring than a mattress. The sheets to not even fit the bed, the mattress was exposed at the top. - wallpaper is peeling all over the rooms I was in (three moves remember) - rusty things in bathroom; doors and woodwork all chipped and in need of painting - lighting is terrible - does not look like a vacuum was run in room except in middle of space All I can say is thank goodness I bring anti bacterial wipes with me when I travel, I wiped everything, and did not dare to be in bare feet at any time except in the shower. In desperate need of renovations - not even expensive work here, just thorough cleaning. I would never stay here again!
The best thing about this hotel is location. Easily access from airport by A21 bus or Airport Express Shuttle bus. 5 minute walk to Tsim Sha Tsui Station. The room is quite old and tight, but clean. Staffs are polite.
Reading several negative TA reviews, initially was hesitant. However, based on local feedback, booked the hotel for 6 nights through travel agent, in-fact delay in decision making costed me higher room rent & at the end the rate I paid was not a budget rate. Hence early and direct booking are recommended. As all have already mentioned, the biggest advantage of the hotel is its location i.e, TST and easy access to various transport facilities, around 5-10 minutes' walk from TST MTR, bus stops just outside the hotel to avail bus service to several city destinations including Airport, availability of cab. I was allotted a room in 5th floor with street view that provided adequate sunlight during the daytime and nice illuminated busy street view in night. My room, surprisingly not as cramped as mentioned / expected. The room had a small partition, the bigger portion had the bed & wardrobe and the smaller portion had room entry, mini bar, writing table & chair, shelf and wall mounted TV, washroom was attached with the smaller portion. Yes-bed was not of a king size, it was just okay for only two - accommodating even a child could be difficult. Bed was relatively hard too. In short, my room had adequate space for two to stay and store the luggage. However, one of my friend was staying with spouse & child in another room at the other side of the hotel, the room was real cramped and left with no open space to move around. Hence all rooms are not of same size & one must ask for street view room (hopefully they are relatively bigger room). The room and wash room were well maintained with daily room cleaning. Other facilities included effective AC, daily two complementary ½ liters water bottles, limited toiletries in washroom, limited local TV channels etc. The hotel is within the walking distance to shopping malls, star ferry, several Indian restaurants etc., The breakfast had limited spread, repetitive and served only up to 10 am. The staffs were well behaved and responsive. One incidence I would like to narrate, one day I forgot my wristwatch, however the hotel staff, at the time of room cleaning, found the same and kept it on the table, really impressive customer care / honesty. Overall a good stay and shall not hesitate to stay here again and to recommend it to others.
Hotel in the center of kowloon area in Hong Kong. From its position, it is possible to visit the most beautiful place in the area. The hotel is quite old and not so clean. They have no shuttle to/from airport.
We set out for a vacation to HK-Macau, landed in HK first and stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is centrally located and has a bus station right outside the lobby. This place is a 10-15 min walk from Star Ferry pier or you can even take a bus which costs around 5HKD. For those who love shopping the hotel is close to Ladies Market. Staff is very much polite and friendly, we got an early check-in. Initial surprise was the room size...they are small but then considering the location and the fact that HK is one of the most expensive real estate....this should be good enough as it is perfect if its only 2 people in a room. Rooms although small but have a very comfortable bed, wardrobe and a bath tub and a nice view ?? Since me and my wife are vegetarian, this place was just perfect as it was situated at a 5 min walk from Indian restaurants like Tandoori Nights and Ebeneezer's. Departmental stores- Vanguard, CircleK , 7Eleven and located close by. The only problem here was the breakfast. We stayed here for 4 nights...and everyday had the same menu which isn't a great thing to start your day with !!! My only suggestion to them would be to have a rotating menu for breakfast.
We were here for four days and it was a pretty decent stay. The location is the best part as you get everything is at a walkable distance. We are pure vegetarians, hence the breakfast was an issue as they served exactly the same breakfast(though fresh) for 4 days. No change and thats why 4 rating. The rooms are tiny (common in hongkong), but clean and the room service and staff are very good wearing a pleasant smile. If you are vegetarians, you will get many retaurants in 5 min walkable diatance who serve authentic indian food. The bus stop is just outside the hotel so communting is easy if u want to explore the city.
Not worth the money at all. Can hear the conversation of the next room guest. Divided only by a very thin wall and a door that does not filter the light. Carpet is old and smelly. Furniture in dire need of replacement. Bed is very uncomfortable---felt like sleeping on an elevated floor. Major upgrading needs to be done.
I recommend no one to stay here at all especially room nos 914 these are extremely bad and way too small rooms for 2 people to stay and on top of that carpet smells. Lastly I come to Hong Kong 4 times in a year usually check in time for all hotels is 2:00 PM this is 1st hotel which very rudely told us it's 3:00 pm and it DOESN'T MATTER IF MY BOOKING SAYS 2:00 pm. DONOT STAY HERE I have never come across this small room usually honk kong has small rooms but this is exceptionally small and SMELLY!!
Location is only thing i can talk about central to all places go around in HK And it is the only reason, this hotel is in demand which mistakenly understood by their staff, who thinks that it is customers need to stay in this hotel. Staff is very rude leave alone hospitality and curtosey Front desk staff Mr. derick or something his name is, he thinks customers stays there in free of cost and he is paying for us. Concierge guys are much better than front desk staff. I do not understand which type of attitude these guys trying to show off to the customers. No courtesy no assistance not even bothered of customers requirement. Something like they are providing us the shelter during our visit and we are staying their free of cost. I am so unhappy and never recommend to anyone who is travelling with family Please the front desk is worst than i ever expected in hotel industry.
Location is within 8 mins walk to TST MTR. Exit hotel, bear left on Chatham and right on Cameron Rd. It leads right to the station entrance. We made 2 stopover here for 2 nights. First stopover room was horrible. Only 1 outlet (other than the one in bath) in room to charge phone or use waterpot. If you have camera/tablets etc, takes forever. Superior view room was dismal. See photo. Bathroom is tiny. Second stopover, the superior view room was an improvement. View overlook HK museum of history. The rooms were super cold due to the weather. There's no heat control in room. When ask at front desk, was told room has no heat only AC. But they were nice enough to send a room heater and extra blanket. Second Stopover at hotel, requested heater, they said none available but send extra blankets. Breakfast was the same daily, not much selections. If you have to pay, go to the restaurants located left of hotel. Hotel needs major updates. Wifi excellent in lobby and basement (cafe) which is why there's crowds there.
I stayed at the hotel because I was travelling on work. The location is good and central so I could get to my meetings without any hassle. Don't get breakfast from the hotel there are alot of inexpensive eateries around the location including a Starbucks. I only used the room to sleep in - I do agree with the other reviews that the rooms look old and not the best. My room was also smaller than a regular room at the hotel. My biggest disappointment was the WiFi. In the middle of one of the more developed cities in East Asia, the WiFi was horrendous! and for someone looking to catch up on work in the evening or morning it was extremely frustrating! I complained several times however there was no improvement. I had to constantly keep reconnecting to get back online. Next time I would like to stay in another hotel in the area, where this hotel would probably be my last resort.
Location is perfect for those who just want to go shopping since it is near major malls howevetmr hotel facilities are disappointing. We stayed in a non smoking area, nut the bathroom really smells like ashtray. Complimentary Breaskfast has limited food to choose from. And the elevators are too small. Hotel personnel are very nice and approachable.
The location of this hotel is pretty prime. The water pressure was good. ...that's about it. The rooms are dated - actually, it was pretty funny so we didn't totally mind. The bed was HORRIBLE - it was the worst sleep throughout my 3 week trip. The room wasn't exactly dirty, but it wasn't the cleanest. Our room was cold - we tried to turn on the heater but it wouldn't turn on - we asked for more blankets...and we were still cold. Honestly, it seemed a bit pricey...next time I'd prefer to stay in a hostel I think.
This hotel is badly in need of renovation. Which, truth be said, is underway, but it doesn't help yet, and so far only results in some floors being closed, presumably putting pressure on the pricing for the remaining rooms. The reception is decent, and so is the personnel, but that's where the pros end. The air on all living floors is stale, some floors are for smokers, and feel like there's no air to breathe at all. The hotel put my family with two small children on such a smoking floor, WTF?! (they found a way to move us though with no questions asked). The rooms are old, sometimes to the point of decomposing, with a thick layer of dust on windows, and overflowing toilets with stuffed plumbing and feedback into the bathtub, as an icing on the cake. Very noisy, with some rooms only isolated by a thin locked door, and neighbors are a lottery that proved a losing game for us. The breakfast is OK, but it ends early, at 10am, and many guests are refused around that time with perseverance bordering on rudeness; they don't oust those lucky to be let in, but it's little fun to dine in such atmosphere. Holiday time prices were as high as everywhere, that made our experience particularly sour. Not recommended, at least until the renovation is finished.
I've been to several best western hotels and so far I've been always satisfied with the service and the rooms. But this best western hotel at kowloon, which was chosen and booked by our travel agent (bad decision, should have checked the reviews first), was by far the worst hotel I've ever been in. The room is very dated, old, dirty and it smells. It lacks lighting and it's very small. Everything is broken and in need of repair. Case in point, the photo I took of the lavatory. I'm only giving this a 1 star rating because of the location (and I can't give a zero). Service at the front desk was very disappointing and didn't really offer any assistance to a request for change of room. They wanted us to pay for an upgrade even when we only wanted to be transferred on the same floor. Lesson learned, never let your agent booked for you and check the reviews first.
I was get the toppest floor, access continued the elevator with the manual stairs. Quite difficult of you bring a heavy suitcase. But since the view is cool and reassure that you are in the strategic location at Kowloon, then it was compesite my tiny room and short ceiling.
Hotel was an easy walk to Nathan Road and had excellent wifi. Staff were friendly and helpful. However this is the smallest hotel room we have ever been in and the shower was extremely skinny. Understand that space is at a premium here in Kowloon. Beds were also very hard but slept okay on them the second night.
Hotel is situated in Heart of City . Though Rooms are small but value for money as is very near to market place and can get connectivity to other places very easily. its OK type of Hotel if you are looking for Budget stay.
I think we were accidentally given the broom cupboard the first night! Bed against the wall so we had to climb over each other to get out. Kept curtains shut so we didn't have to look out on the filthy air conditioning units. Gave us a different room for the rest of our stay. Small, but at least we could walk round the bed. The reading lights were fixed by our last day. Fairly clean. Bed hard. Bath with shower over. Beware the bottles of water and nuts etc left out on the counters are not free. Feel they should have been in the fridge as a warning. Breakfast ok. Evening meal in Pasta Kitchen not good. Also a warning if you have impressionable youngsters with you. The prints in this restaurant, of ladies in various forms of attire, I found quite disturbing. Kettle in room. A mention for Chris on front desk. Very helpful.
The three rooms they changed us to all had been smoked in! Not a bad location but taxi to everything. Hotel staff was nice. Superior room is like a closet. They did upgrade us to an executive room which is a bit bigger with a nice view of the city. There is a airport shuttle from the Park Hotel right down the street that begins at 6am or 6:30am every day.
I stayed for three nights. There was a lot of noise from other rooms, and everything in my room was old and worn out. There was quite a bit of dust at some spots. Considering the lack of space in HK and the price, I think it is OK for a few nights. The staff is professional, although kind of unfriendly.
The hotel is well located near restaurants and shopping areas. It is near the metro station and the bus stop. It was walking distance to the Hong Kong Observatory. The staff were very friendly and helpful and speak fluent english. The rooms are nice and spacious with good amenities. I was on the 17th floor so had a nice view.
Seriously, i sometimes wonder what people want from a Hotel. This is a Best Western Hotel, so part of a chain. It is situated in one of the most densely packed areas in the world, and people complain about small rooms. We had room 1506 on the 15th floor, which was a corner room,. it had a king size bed, en suite bathroom with bath and shower, and air conditioning, Fridge etc. The view was of skyscrapers (surprise!!) and the Natural History and Science museums, which are 2 minutes away. When i am visiting a place i want my Hotel to be a comfortable place to sleep, wash and dress so i can go out. This Hotel has no swimming Pool or gym. It does have a good buffet breakfast and an evening Pasta menu if required. We were happy with our stay at the Hotel The staff were accommodating and friendly, and the Hotel is situated right in the centre of Tsim Sha Tsiu in Kowloon. You can walk out the front door, across the street and in 5 minutes you are on the waterfront looking at one of the most iconic views in the world. The MTR (Hong Kong underground) is 10 minutes away. The cabs are ridiculously cheap ( take a red one from the airport for the central district). In short then, there are certainly better appointed, less tired looking, more expensive Hotels in Hong Kong. But if you want somewhere to sleep, wash and get a good breakfast before venturing into the amazing place that is Hong Kong, this Hotel is fine.
We 3 families with 6 kids (including a 1.5 year old ) stayed twice - 14th to 15th Oct and 19th Oct to 20th Oct. The rooms were small but just enough to fit the extra beds that we had asked in each room. It's a budget hotel almost. Breakfast buffet was just plain and mundane. The staff was very stiff almost bordering rudeness. The staffs (front desk/Guards/room service) can do with a smile badly when talking with guest - understanding that what they are speaking is not easily understandable like probably they found ours. A small patience in hearing out smilingly and solving the problem will go a long way. The only plus point was the location perhaps otherwise it's very plain.
you can go to hotel from the MTR tsim sha tsui station and then take exit D1. the room is more specious you can request for high level for a good view. complete aminities, clean and nice view ?????????
Only plus point about selecting this hotel is the location. Other than that there is nothing notable to speak about this place. Rooms are very small, hygiene could have been better. We stayed here for 2 nights last year. Since we required a place to rest overnight and were travelling light with a sack back, we could fit into this room. Otherwise it would either be you or your suitcase in this room.
The hotel is very centrally located and from my room I could see the harbour inbetween the skyscrapes. Walking distance to the harbour, a lot of restaurants and shops around and just across the street is the bus running to the airport every 20 min from 0600 am. Very friendly staff and a nice welcome with fruits in the room and welcome drink
The outlook from outside not too tempting, but the inside quite friendly hotel and very nice staff. Room not too big enough, but good to sleep for a 3 days here. Location very great near the street market also foods around there just walking near by. The most thing is near the Mosque very recommend to stay here, indeed !
I appreciate that space is a premium in HK but this hotel not only has small rooms but they are also quite dated. The fixtures and fittings leave a lot to be desired. Looks like repairs are done DIY. The staff are friendly and helpful and it is very central and well located but don't book if you're expecting luxury (of any kind). The sign by the lift did make me chuckle. "When" there is a fire not "in case of"!!!!
The location is superb as its centrally located in the most busy part of town for shopping and relaxing . Restaurants , malls shops museum and harbour front walk are all at walking distance from the hotel , even at night its very safe to go out alone here as its lighting all the way everywhere and busy till 3 am and clubs or bars or restaurants open all night . The price is acceptable and the service is good . You cant find better location in this central part of town and at this price , so book early .
I can only recommend everybody to stay away from this establishment, until the management and staff is changed. Best Western need also to do something about the room isolation, one can hear everything from inside the hotel, as well as from nearby streets. My stay was dreadful comparing to any previous hotel stay in Hong Kong. The manager didn't want to give me my bill because I booked via hotels.com, If I had the time I would had notified the HK Tourist Authority and report fraud with the local Police. My critic is not about over expectations, it's honestly only about the minimum of service and respect from a brand such as Best Western!
Don't stay here! This is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The pictures on the website are deceiving . The rooms were small , dark, and dusty . There was an overwhelming smell of mildew and the peeling wall paper had been badly patched up. The staff were un attentive , unhelpful and at times rude. The wifi doesn't work. Despite its location it wasn't worth the money . My advice is don't do it
A nice little place on the busy Chatham Rd S within walking distance of many of the local attractions. Not very expensive but with basic amenities. Compared to other countries, the room was surprisingly small, but I think that's a HK thing. It was very clean though and the staff maintained it well. The staff was also helpful when I had questions, and the map they gave me was my lifeline for my whole trip. The bed was comfortable and I had a good time there. The bathroom was basic and had everything I needed - not the fanciest one I've seen, but very generous for the price. The only downside was the very poor WiFi, which kept disconnecting every few minutes. Aside from that, the CityBus A21 from the airport stops right in front of it, and the free shuttle to Kowloon Station is just around the corner.
Location -- pretty good. Right smack center of TST district with ample restaurant choices , shops and walking distance to TST metro station. Even walked all the way to harbor malls... Hotel Bfast -- was ok. Limited choice. Will do. Hotel Ambiance -- so so. Quite dated decor and dark inside the rooms. Small elevators . Overall just ok.
High Speed wifi was pretty much unusable. The staff were courteous and helpful. Room was needing of repairs (cracked/chipped bathtub, detached widgets, dead switches) but were otherwise still functional.
Even corner room is very small. Breakfast is poor and restaurant is overcrowded. It is not a restaurant at all, just dining room. Hotel requires full renovation. Big mistake for Best Western Plus brand.
The hotel is very close to restaurants and shops right in the same block. The Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station is just a walking distance. There is an airport bus right in front of the hotel. Very convenient location.
It was great location easy for one night stop from airport. Bus stop nearly in front oif hotel and depaarts on other side of the road. we were not feeling good and they accommodate us a few hours earlier for check in and made our room available.
Subconsciously I have been applying the "Towel Rating" to hotels I visit. This hotel rates 2 out of 10, meaning I can almost see through the worn out material. Looking around the rest of the hotel is the same "Threadbare". The room air conditioning fights a loosing battle against the morning sun that blasts through the aged curtains. The Wi-Fi reaches the room with a strong signal, however its capacity struggles to pass data. Breakfast, discounted to $60HK, is the most meagre affair. Stay one night - only if you must. "Threadbare"
I booked this hotel online, The location is just 2 metro stops from HK Central, and still u need to walk around 400m; A good tip is that u have a free shuttle bus from central that leaves you in the other side of the street. The rooms are spacious and the wifi works properly, but the beds are hard. i had the chance to visit another Best Western (Harbour View) in HK and it was better, at least for the city views from the rooms and the pool in the rooftop! in price is not much difference.
Ordered the room via online. Surprisingly, when I checked in the room was very top floow aka roof, but that was OK as long as it looked similar on internet photo. One thing I agree with fellow travelers, their reception was "little bit" slow. Overall OK to stay, location is good.
I booked this hotel for one night because this hotel is on excellent location... not so far from the metro station and all around the hotel are a lot of caffe bars... not so small room, but furniture is very old... if your neighbors are in room near yours you can hear them clearly... breakfast is good...
This hotel takes you back about 30 years in time... The rooms are very old and small. I just stayed here for 1 night so it wasn't too bad. Had a room at the top floor and had to take the stairs to get from the elevator's last stop to the top floor (1 floor difference).
I wonder if this is a 4 star hotel as it was rated at Agoda and when I'm checking I saw a group of Indian, believe that they are from tour. The lobby was packed. And I waited for 1-2 hours for my check-in !! Fineeee.. after checking in, I open the room door. Unpack my 2 large luggage and basically I couldn't walk in the room. So decided to keep one of the luggage and put them into wardrobe. Guess what? The luggage couldn't fit in to their wardrobe. Can you believe it? Ok never mind. I found 6 empty bottles lying on the floor hiding behind the curtain. You guys took so long for me to check-in, is this like what you said? Cleaning up the room? The room is real small, the curtain is damn dusty. The lighting is horrible. The bath-tub, looks dirty! The toilet is small.
The hotel has a good location, near a bus stop and a couple of blocks of Victoria Harbour and the avenue of the stars. However, the hotel was old, the beds were unconfortable and we run out of water for a while. It's not a 4* hotel and for $140 for a double it's not worthy. The wifi was ok and the people were very kind, as they helped us to find restaurants in the area. The breakfast was cheap and simple.
The room and hotel in general is quite old, need a remodeling. The air extractor in my room didn't work and through it an strong and disgusting cigarette smell was transfered maybe from other room. The location is good, near to the Avenue of Stars and Metro Station. The personnel in reception is attentive and helpful.
Good location but everything is rundown and old. Poor a/c and weak water pressure. Small room and kind of having a unique smell. Price is not that cheap, I guess the location matters more. Kind of disappointed but for 2 nights, that is still ok.
Had to book a hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui last minute and this was the only option for our group size. I have nothing good to say about the experience. I knew what I was getting into by reading the reviews but one still hoped businesses would underpromise/overdeliver. Rooms were small, old, smelly, paint was peeling off, elevator took forever to get to us on the 11th floor, etc.
The room was unacceptably small, with damp walls and paint peeling. There was little assistance from management - and still no refund/compensation for an exceptionally poor experience. For the same price you can find much better options in Kowloon.
We have been to over 65 countries and this was 2nd WORST room we have ever had. The room was so small you would have to go out side to change your mind. They said that this was a deluxe room, The carpet was patched (not even the same color) their were 3 of us and they didn't even leave us enough towels, the drapes would not even shut tight. I had to check for bugs ever time I got into and out of my bed. The bell captain service was no where to be found when the taxi dropped us off. We travel with cash and debit cards we had just paid over $400 and because we didn't have a credit card they came to our room and cleaned out our fridge so we would not steal anything. I am not sure if we have stayed at a Best Western before but SURE will be the last...The staff is less than helpful , you can have you hands full and they won't even get the door.Them taking everything out of our fridge put me over the edge. Make sure you wear your slippers.
Good Location. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Airport Bus(A21) and bus from ferry station stops right beside hotel. Requested for early checkin and was not accomodated. Room was outdated, dark, small, and old. Needs improvements. Lift/Elevator was smaller!
As I said good location however rooms sirconditioning didn't work nor did the lights above the bed and as the rest of the lighting was poor you could not read. The doona was very thin and old. Rang to get an extra blanket and we were delivered two single doonas that were discoloured and smelt of stale smoke. Staff friendly. Restaurant only ok. Would not use again. Rooms not sound proof.
The hotel is in a great location, with many shops and restaurants nearby. The good points are 1) location 2) price 3) good shower 4) fridge and cable t.v. Provided 5) friendly staff 6) good Wi fi The bad points are 1) very dated decoration, and furniture 2) rooms quite small 3) very hard bed 4) tiny bath towels Hong Kong is expensive, and we got a 5 star hotel in Macau with every amenity for the same price, but if you're on a budget, and only need a clean bed, this place is okay.
A well located, clean, well equipped hotel. It's a small room 1703, with kettle and bottled water supplied. Fridge, a/c... the bed - king size, was the hardest bed I have ever slept on, but ample pillows and blankets, They have about 8 genuine non smoking floors, but sadly the elevators seem to be smoking.. god knows why. It's a good location, about 700m to several mrt stations, tst, tst east Staff are very responsive!
The hotel is undergoing renovations, previously known as the Ramada. Situated on Chatham Rd which is very busy so public transport is constant. The staff showed professionalism and the Concierge very attentive.Located out of the High Dollar Nathan Rd but a short walk to get there. We found that the shopping was good in Granville and Mody Rd areas. Australian food is hard to find apart from the golden arches and the American chicken establishments. Altho there are two steakhouses within walking distance across the park heading towards the harbour. The breakfasts were basic cereal scramble toast etc. together with Asian dishes. The staff here were helpful. The room was a superior room with queen bed. But this was disappointing the room was spacious and overlooked the park gardens which was great. the bathroom with bath was quite roomy tea and coffee facilities mini bar which was never replaced with drink and the teabags and sugar the same I had to ask the cleaner to top it up. On arrival to the 15th floor we came out of the lift to a hall with scented room freshener in the wall. We opened our room door to be met with a smell of stale cigerettes even tho we asked for a none smoking room. Which it was, unfortunatley the smell was being vented through the airconditioning. We talked with reception and said we had asked for a queen bed only to have a small double. We were told that all the beds are the same. So moving was not going to be an option. We later found out that they could have put two singles together but that was when we were leaving. Look dont get me wrong this hotel is not Fancy, but the price reflects that and we are not into bright lights and glitter, and they are undergoing changes lets hope they will be new furnishings to cater for large people who are used to large beds.
The reception and concierge staff are courteous and helpful. Hotel is across street from the HK Museum of History and close to plenty of restaurants that serve a variety of cuisines. Traveling to and from the airport is convenient on the A21 bus. The room is spacious by HK standard. There is space to put 2 large luggage and a large duffel bag. I am fond of the decor. I like the old style nightstand on each side of the bed that comes with a reading light. They add an antique taste to the room. We stayed for 9 nights and enjoyed our stay. The hotel can do better in a few areas: vacuum the room more often, clear clogged drains in the bath tub and remove worn towels from circulation. I found a towel that had holes in it and told the housekeeper to remove it but it came back to our rack again a week later...Overall, it is a very good hotel and we will definitely come back!
The location of the hotel is very convenient if one has to take the train to and from the airport. Only 5 minutes walk. Due to high occupancy the hotel does not accept early check in. You have to wait until 2 pm to get into your room. Should you want to leave your luggage so you can go shopping in Pratunam Market you can deposit with the bell service free of charge. The hotel facilities are old but acceptable.
It's a good property located in the heart of the city. Rooms are spacious and neat, and the staff are courteous and prompt. It's an ideal place for holidayers, because of the proximity to shopping centres and food courts.
Hotel is a bit run down and rooms are very small but the beds are comfortable. Only 1 usable power point in the room so bring a power board. Breakfast simple but ok for 60 hk. In the Center of kowloon so position is good. Beware of Gray line tours we had a bad experience. Good bar just outside the rear entrance down alley. Hotel has good internet speed (free) Would stay again.
Location: Very good (in terms of food and shopping) Cleanliness: So so, even wonder if they change bed sheets Staff: Was quite helpful, can speak English Price: You get what you paid for, do not expect too much
It's a No ever again for me! Tiny rooms, found several super friendly pets / insects in the rooms and corridors. You can barely squeeze into the bathroom. Location is convenient, but there are plenty of better hotels in the neighborhood... But hey, if you don't care about the cockroaches, old furniture and kind of a hostel feeling it gives you, and if you only care about the location, then go for it!
It isnt what it looks like. Poor front desk staff service and standards. There are better options such as Accor group which ensures that the standards are maintained. The rates here are not as cheap as they look and if you look around you can get a better value for dollar
This hotel is not very good, it is old & rather stuffy & in need of a reno. The staff are mostly very helpful & the restaurant is good. This is a very busy location, some may enjoy that but personally I prefer around the harbour where it is more open & spacious. We arrived at 7am & were given a room that is little used, more a flea hole than a room, I asked for a move & they obliged by 10am to a room that was adequate. Would I stay here again, no.
Me with my friend checked into this hotel at about 01.00 am on 02nd of October'2016 just for the night after travelling from Seoul, We had booked a twin room for us through a travel agent. Much to a surprise we were given a single bed room with one single bed for the two of us. When we asked the duty manager, Mr. Nelson to give us a twin bedded room, very rudely he told us that there are no rooms available. We contacted our travel agent who spoke to him, then Mr. Nelson tells us that one of his guests is checking out ( At 2.00 am) and he would take one hour to clean the room and then he will change the room. We said it is fine. and then within 5 mins, he gives us the key of the other room. I am surprised, the guest check out and cleaning took just 5 minutes. By the time we slept it was already 3am and we had to check out by 8 am the next day. Is this Customer service. We paid for the twin room so then y cheat. also, Mr. Nelson appeared to be drunk on duty. I request the management not to keep drunk staff specially during the night to inconveinience customers. We come to the hotel to relax after a hard day at work not to deal with such unprofessional duty managers like Mr. Nelson. I would never ever recommend this hotel to any one.
The hotel is ok. The location is unbeatable. Everything is nearby in walk-able distance. Breakfast is the same boring items everyday. They never change it and the minute the clock ticks 10 they start taking the items inside even when the guests are eating which is really rude.
We stayed 9 nights in Hong Kong in this hotel. The location cannot be beaten as it is close to the busy Kowloon shopping areas and public transport. The hotel itself is in need of an upgrade and the comfort level is poor. We had difficulty getting hot water at times having to run the water for 15 minutes to eventually turn warm. The rooms are old and in poor condition. The beds are rock hard. Staff are pleasant. The breakfast was very good and priced well. We moved rooms soon after checking in an attempt to improve our situation but all rooms provide a similar comfort level. We had friends stay twice for short periods whilst we were in the hotel and their rooms were the same. There are no facilities such as pool or gym. I would only recommend a short stay if you want best location otherwise there would be better alternatives for the money spent. Not certain this is a 3.5 star hotel.
Good hotel with really good staff we really appreciate the hotel for giving us early check in at 12 as we came from overnight journey extremely tired. We come to Hong Kong almost 3 times a year since last 7 years no hotel offers early in big thank you to the staff. Rooms were ok not to big not to small but extremely clean. Location of the hotel is excellent near subway and close to restaurants etc yes the hotel looks a little old but that is completely taken by the services offered by the staff.
Any accommodation in Hong Kong is not dirt cheap. I'm glad that my friends told me this before my trip. This somehow set my expectation for my stay at Best Western Plus Hotel Kowloon in Tsim Sha Tsui. It was my friends, who've been to HKG a lot of times already, that chose this hotel for our weekend stay. They also got our rooms at a bargain price but the main motivation why we were booked here was the fact that the hotel is located very near popular tourist sites, MTR stations and shopping districts in TST. We stayed at a non-smoking small twin bed room equipped with the usual basic amenities. I didn't mind the vintage room furnishings or the fact that the elevator and hallways reeked of second hand smoke as we only stayed here to sleep after a long day elsewhere. Lobby staffs could speak in English but could use some extra courtesy lessons to greet incoming tourists and hotel guests. Having said that, I am not sure how much of Ramada Hotel Kowloon, especially in terms of its interiors and brand of hospitality, was retained after Best Western Plus acquired the property. Maybe then it's high time to do some room renovations to make the property more competitive and more cozy perhaps in the future.
Best Western Plus Hotel is conveniently located near the TST East, close to restaurants and a 5 minute walk to a subway station. The room is good size with a refrigerator and a tea maker and 2 complimentary bottles of water daily. It is a good value hotel for its location even though it needs to be updated in its decorations.
During my last visit to Hongkong few days back,i stayed at Best western Plus Kawloon for 4 nights which was arranged by our business associate. It was my 5th visit to HK, and my previous stays were at Langham palace,Bishop lee international,Island pacific. But this time,i little dissapointed in terms of stay.Rooms were small and old.But hving basic aminites.Bed was hard.Basic room decoration.Rude customer service.I asked for an umbrella,as it was raining there, but the concoraige person refused us,that to not in a polite manner. Regarding brakefast, there were not much option. But considering 60hkd ,its ok. The best part of this hotel is its location.Very well located. Overall its an ok type hotel to hv a sound sleep in the night.Dont expect much from it.
Ok, so I was in Prudential Hotel for 3 days for a very nice price then had to change hotel into this joke ... Staff are very inefficient and unfriendly, except for the tourist guide in the morning time who really helped us during our stay, house keepers were so rude, not working good so our room were so so SOOOO DIRTY ! I found blood spots on the sheet although of how many times we asked them to change it, serving with too much anger and rudeness!! Just be aware of this hotel and don't put your money on it ! DON'T!
First, lets just say this is the ONLY hotel that I have ever seen using a pencil and paper to make a "COPY" of your credit card. The rooms were dirty, the management rude to put it politely and the beds... uncomfortable as a coach seat on an airplane... ignore the pictures and the website - the REAL picture is not worth describing.
The staff here is good (although not great) and the location is ideal. It is a short walk away from avenue of the stars and Victoria harbor. And there are restaurants all around you! My boyfriend and I ate & drank conveniently nearby the hotel. However, the room was old.. The lighting was dim. Bathroom was small. Made it difficult for me to find a good place to do my makeup. My boyfriend and I booked one double bed, but what we got was two twin beds pushed together. Mattress was pretty hard so having two combined ones made it even more uncomfortable for a couple to share. Although it was not expensive, we could have paid the same price for a better room elsewhere. Their currency exchange is only for guests making larger exchanges. I couldn't exchange $20USD, the minimum was $100. It was my last morning there and I just needed some money for breakfast so that's a little disappointing.
This hotel is well located in Kowloon and easy access for airport buses and a short walk to the ferry terminal. When I booked it , it was the Ramada now the best western! The reception is still nice and well maintained. The room however need TLC and serious scrabbling . I booked a superior room and the walls are dirty and bathroom has mould! It maybe early stage in the hand over! The bed mattress is very hard for westerners I feel also . Staff are professional and helpful. Breakfast was included in my package and was ok but nothing spectacular! Don't go after 10am as everything will be remove from the buffet.
I've booked this hotel with 2 standard room, and contacted sales manager, Fiona before she promised for 1 of the extra bed with HKD 200 /per night's price, after few days i made the booking via other channel, i contact again hotel front desk, named Oscar or someone which name with'O' to confirm my reservation and to remind again the extra bed. Then the funniest thing happen, the extra bed price change to HKD 440 and they tell me because I don't book directly with them, so, I check the official rate 1 DOUBLE BED - HKD 2000+ 2 DOUBLE BED ROOM - HKD3400+ And the online agent price that i booked is almost same price with the double bed room, the price for extra bed HKD 440/per night = 1 double bed + extra bed = HKD 3300++ WHY DON'T I BOOK 2 DOUBLE BED ROOM INSTEAD TO PAY THE UNREASONABLE PRICE WITH THIS. A very gentle reminder for you guys in case you ruin your Hong Kong trip for these 'profesional' management without 4 star service but collect 4 star price.
Had to extend stay in Hongkong so moved from holiday inn golden mile to this hotel. ABSOLUTELY RUNDOWN DONT STAY HERE EVERYTHING IS OLD AND MORE IMPORTANTLY DIRTY EVEN THE BEDDING IS A MESS. We moved away the next day to METROPARK MONGKOK for the same price and were delighted with the newly renovated rooms very clean and next to night market, ladies market and sneaker street, my advice go there.
The property is nice, full marks for the location. The buffet breakfast is good. The rooms are a bit small compared to other hotels in other cities. The staff is courteous, overall a good experience, will not mind staying there again.
This hotel was a joke, great location is all this hotel has to offer. Was placed in a smoking room without any notice. Next visit to Hong Kong will not be staying here. This is truly a last minute hotel. Trust and believe they will have space!!!!
First off, the location of the hotel is FANTASTIC. Being able to walk to the Victoria Harbour or shop at Nathan Road was a treat. Obviously in a city like HK, space is a constraint. This hotel reflects the lack in space. The room is incredibly small and the beds are hard. The bathroom is just enough to stand in. My cousin who is 6"4, struggled considerably more then me. But to be honest, you get used to it eventually. Plus the place is very clean and hygienic. To sum up, if you want to use it as a bed to crash and explore the city - go right ahead! Not suitable if you want to spend time in the room or with family.
This is certainly not a 4 star hotel. Would rate it a basic 2.1/2 - 3 stars at most. When we arrived we went into the toilets of the hotel where the whole floor smelt so bad Like extreme air freshener that was awful literally had to cover my nose while using the toilet and do everything 1 handed. The staff were friendly enough, the bell boys being friendliest. The room was basic and small, it was okay for us but the bed was very small and hard with the pillows being like laying on bricks. It had English tv which was a bonus & the cleaners did a good join cleaning. there was always a few small insects coming out of the sinks but can imagine they can't be helped with the country. Overall, it is an ok hotel but very basic and wouldn't go to expect much.
Stayed for two nights in Room 1401. The room is old. But to be fair, it was reasonably clean and it smelled ok. It is however sad to experience a "Best Western" property in such a mediocre state. The name Best Western Plus just makes it worse I feel that the property is overpriced for the condition of the room. Good location. Near exits P1, P2, and P3 of the East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. And near the East Tsim Sha Tsui bus terminus. The Science and History Museums are nearby. So is Knutsford Terrace and a whole range of restaurants in the streets around the hotel.
Not upto the standard of a 4-5 star hotel, very cramped rooms (which is in all HKG hotels) Reception pathetic, took lot of time. Staff seemed to be bit restless may be short staffed. Prime location in Kowloon. Can visit nearby places with ease. all transportation easily approachable. All kind of restaurants are in close proximity. House keeping good, neat & clean. Coffee shop no options for breakfast, limited stuff cannot even call it a breakfast.
Old dated and needs a good clean up Just arrived and ready to leave but here for 3 days. Rooms are very small and dark with bad lighting. Asked to change rooms to be told this is the "best" one. Checked out this morning 2 days early. They then said to us that they have one renovated room. Too late we have moved round the corner to an absolutely fab hotel
Overall hotel is good, let me start with good points: 1)location,just few minutes walk from Hollywood actor's garden (we're very happy finally to see and discover Bruce Lee's statue) 2) room is spacious for HK standard 3) room rate was affordable with breakfast for 2 person. The bad side is the age of hotel and it's never been renovated I guess from when it started to operate, the cleanliness was bad( we found hair in a buthtub), the breakfast is ok (still you can find all you need for breakfast).
Stayed here for 2 nights. had to book this one as the other regular brand of hotel i book was fully booked. The checkin staff said i was upgraded to higher room category but the room was way too small. House keeping staff on the other hand was good when i asked for extra water and other amenities. Breakfast Area was again limited with space as well as food service table. Overall this Hotel was not upto the mark.
Just stayed here for 3 nights. Location is fairly central & user friendly - <10mins walk to Kowloon park (well worth a walk around for an hour) & a couple of big shopping centres. Only about 15mins walk from here to the harbour for access to Hong Kong Island. Room was tiny, but clean & did the job fine for somewhere to get your head down. Small safe included for valuables (free) shower mediocre, toilet seat wobbly, hair dryer not functioning... Don't expect any English channels (except 1 news channel) on the TV if you want that available. Breakfast was included, good mix of foods available & never too busy in the cafe. However, it would only seat about 40 people maximum, so suspect we were lucky to always get a seat straight off. Worth noting we booked this as The Ramada & it has changed hands back in March (to Best Western) which may cause some confusion with reviews, and did with us when we landed there after 20+ hrs travelling & though taxi had dropped us at the wrong place...! It did it's job as somewhere to crash. However, given the huge amount of hotels available in Hong Kong, unless this was by far as price leader I would look to book else where.
I was satisfied with my stay, the room is complete with ammenities, its clean and there are lots of restaurants that you can find outside the hotel. It is easy to find for the first timers who are going to Hongkong.
Not even worth 1 star. Small, outdated, stained sheets, towels had holes in them. Had to get in and out of bed from the bottom. Only 1 can fit in bathroom at once. Safe didn't work. Jug but no powerpoint. Lifts took ages. Peeling wallpaper. Don't stay.
1/ good location (near subway and the harbor) 2/ cheap 3/ good service It's quite a good place to stay in HK. In comparison to others. Good service, friendly staff. The only thing is a door to another room. The noise from the other room was going through this door
Checked in to the hotel, thought breakfast is included like other reviewers mentioned, but saw a sign on the checkin desk and said it is HKD60, a little disappointed since it didn't mention anything about that on the best western's website. At check in the agent did advise about the construction between 9am and 6pm, so other reviewers shouldn't complain about that. Room is on the small side in a L shape. There is a partially stocked mini bar, only 2 bottles of the Vita water is free. Wifi is ok, it stopped working the next day around 10am, call and ask was told it just changed to a different password, it is rather strange they changed it at 10am since check out time is 12pm, should have advised guests about that at checkin. Staff are polite and courteous (Best Western Plus Hong Kong should learn something from them). Even though I was told my rate doesn't include breakfast, but I checked out the nearby eateries breakfast generally cost HKD$30-40, I decided to pay the HKD$60 to have the breakfast buffet in the hotel instead. It is actually a decent buffet breakfast. Breakfast is downstairs at the basement in a rather small room. Hot items: sausages, ham, scramble eggs, hard boiled eggs (but no sunny side up eggs as pictured in the ad by the front desk), baked beans, samosa, spring roll, fried rice, congee with minced pork, bread. Cold items: cereal, salad, yogurt, cut fruits, pour your own coffee, tea, apple juice, orange juice. All in all, not bad for the price I paid, just wish the breakfast is free like the best western in the US, and the hotel website should mention it.
Morning starts with drilling over your head as the hotel is renovating. We were not able to get a single day of good sleep due to non stop drilling. Get a headache medicine before you check in. Staff is couteous but nothing too great. Room size depends upon your choice and budget. We spent days in two different types of room : one smaller than a usual bathroom and other was spacious. Location is good but there are many other hotels in the locality. No exhaust in the bathrooms : imagine !!. Hotel is old. Not sure whether we will come here again.
Small room (as you know that in Hong Kong land is really expensive) and also nice bed, comfortable and they will clean your room every day. Next to MTR and easy to find any kind of restaurant next to the hotel. But mostly you'll be able to see many of Korean restaurant next to the hotel (I don't know why).
Good location for shopping. Rooms are dark but clean. Pillows are to fluppy for my taste. The staff are really helpful. Will stay here again if I'm back in Hong Kong for a shopping trip. Elevators are small but that's Hong Kong. Walking distance to great shopping.
We booked this hotel because of it's location and because of the good price we were offered. The location was fabulous and the A21 bus we took from the airport stopped right outside and only cost R66 rand per person complete with Wi-Fi on-board for the hour long trip! The room we were allocated however was horrible - really small and the bed wasn't even queen sized, let alone a king. The fittings and décor were dated and things like bedside lamps didn't work. There was no view as the windows above the bed were high and covered by old curtains. These are all excusable factors for me, however cleanliness is not. The room was dirty - dark hair all over and stains of the carpet and soft furnishings. The bathroom had blood splashed on the toilet stand and more grunge around the edges of the bath and basin...not lovely! Towels were the smallest bath towel size I have ever seen. The staff were great, but this alone does not a good stay make. The rooms would need a makeover before we considered staying here again.
Being an old hotel has its advantages like the room is bigger compared to other rooms in HK. It's conveniently situated where you can easily ride taxis and buses. Train station is walking distance away. There are many restaurants to choose from nearby so you don't have to walk far. Ask the staff and they will advise the best ones for reasonable price. The staff are helpful and easy to talk to. Although the building is old, efforts to update it can be clearly seen like with the new television, bathroom fixtures and probably the bed, too. Our room looked well maintained. I just hope they have more variety in the breakfast food. We had three same menu for all three mornings that we were there. We still had fun and will recommend it to others.
Staff were keen and polite. Rooms were really showing their age. Bathroom was very small and had to close the door or climb over the toilet to get to the shower bath. Breakfast in basement was extremely cold. Funny to see those in the know turning up in coats after their first morning.
Staying at this hotel is like a time portal, going back to the 80s with outdated interiors! As with other old hotels in Hong Kong because of limited space, the rooms are small. We stayed in the 18th floor and the room looks rather dark and outdated. The old aircon still works pretty well and I didn't have any problem with the beds. All the reading lamps on top of the bed weren't working, I think they've broken for some quite long time and the staff didn't even bother to replace or fix them. The elevators are small, quite slow and the doors are dangerously fast. Note that if you're staying on the 18th floor the elevators don't come up there (you need to take the stair on level 17). Location is relatively good with 5-10 min walking to both Tsim Sha Tsui and East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR stations. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel's entrance. Some restaurants can be found along Chatham Road South, as well as some night bars in Hart Avenue. The whole hotel should be upgraded. Wouldn't stay here again.
The bed was as hard as a wooden floor, making it impossible to have a good rest. the corridor was dark, the room was dark, not enough lighting, old brown carpet didn't help. would not return or recommend it to any one.
We stayed for 4 days with my family in April. We dont expect to see fancy things in this hotel. Our travel agent looked for a reasonable rate that we could stay and this is what we got. Ok, fine...we are billeted at room 1111. Room dimly lighted, toilet too small to maneuver but we accept as we family of 6 just want to find a place to stay. Guess what... we survived! After 2 days back home, my husband and my 11 year old daughter keep on scratching their legs endlessly, then red swollen patches all over becomes visible... our doctor confirmed we got BED BUGS! Both of them happened to slept in that bed right beside the cabinet. 2 weeks and still not cured. The suffering continues. This is the hotel experience we had. Our first time to stay in a hotel bearing a global brand name- BEST WESTERN. We just realized that this brand have POOR STANDARDS in terms of housekeeping. Count us out as your potential loyal patrons.
Hotel was Ramada and was booked as such but has changed to Best Western which made my heart sink as I arrived, Best Western being tatty, run down and dirty usually. This hotel is very run down in the rooms, very worn & tired but at least it is clean. However this hotel has the hardest nastiest beds ever and for this reason I will never return and strongly recommend all readers to avoid this place. It would be nicer T sleep on a concrete slab.
Location is good with many eateries & shopping.Hotel is really old, carpets in bad condition, furniture is dated, bed was uncomfortable making it difficult to fall asleep even though very tired after a day of shopping, think its a 2 star hotel even though I have never stayed in a 2 stars hotel, this is depressing,It was Ramada before Best Western took over but nothing was done to upgrade the hotel,
The hotel on paper has categorized its rooms but its all an eyewash. All the rooms and very cramped and not enough for even two people with one pc of luggage each. Forget to invite a visitor into the room. Superior room is not superior by any means and looks very ordinary and same as s standard room. The wi go connection is just for a name sake and does not work at all. Just go for it if other hotels are sold out or if u are a die hard fan of this hotel ( which is unlikely).
Checked in on 21st April 2016. A friend had received me from HKIA so travelling to the hotel was not an issue at all. It is about 5 minutes walk to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. A21 Bus from the HKIA drops bang at the door step. The check in process was fast and efficient. The concierge was very informative and helpful. The breakfast ( at HKD 75 was average). The staff was very attentive and eager to help. The hotel was clean ( at least the room was was given , while, i have read reviews that say otherwise). The only grouse ( and that is a major one), the mattress were pokey. The springs almost poked into you ( you know what i mean?) If you kneeled down on the mattress ( not that you need to or would want to) you can clearly feel the springs. hence the sleep was not very sound. I was ok though.
the hotel is very old. but we where only sleeping in the room at night. As we where out exploring the city during the day. When we come back to Hong Kong I would choose to stay at another hotel. Location was on par, with Train station nearby and food choices plentiful.
This hotel is located near Tsim Sha Tsui MTR hence you can save lot of money in travelling. We used MTR and then walked towards Hotel. You can find all major food outlets, shopping malls etc within 10 min of walking. The only issue is this property is very old and rooms are very small.
flea ridden stench hole do not waste ur money. best Western hotels should be ashamed with themselves to have this kip - hostel standard - under their umbrella. staff offer no accountability as they are afraid to ask how stay was.
We booked 2 nights here and moved to another hotel for the second night because it was so bad. The whole hotel is very old and needs to be updated. Our room was really dark, old and small. The mattresses was so old that you could feel the wires in it, and only a double size so we did not sleep well. Our bath towels were so thin and had holes in them - big holes and a few in one towel. We had to ask for new towels, and they weren't any better. We complained to management as part of the Expedia process, and they showed us an "upgraded" room, which was about half a metre bigger, but still had all the same issues, so we decided to move to another hotel. Front desk staff were pleasant, but I felt sorry for them as I am sure a lot of people would complain. Our safe did not work, so we couldn't securely store our valuables. We told staff about this and maintenance came to check, and just said "yes, broken" but did not fix it or give us a new one. Stay in another hotel, as for a little bit more money you can get something so much better!!!
The hotel is a little bit old and the room is small. but i heard in Hong Kong most hotel rooms are small as compared to the hotels in other cities due to space limitation. But the most important thing is the strategic location of the hotel. Very easy accessible from airport as the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. and the bus stop to the airport is just across the street. It is situated in the middle of Kowloon downtown so there are a lot of shops, mall, restaurants, cafes around the hotel. 15 mins walk to victoria harbor & ave of stars and 20-25 mins walk to the China ferry terminal to Macau. there are 2 nearest subway stations near the hotel, Tsim Sa Tsui (TST) station and East Tsim Sa Tsui. So transportation will not be a problem. The area is very lively even at night so it is safe for you to walk around.
Like al hotels in Hong Kong, rooms are very small. They are nicely decorated but I was happy that it was just me because I would have been tripping over if I were sharing my room. There is nowhere to put luggage and no wardrobe. You have a hook on the wall and a couple of hangers. Nice flat screen tv and the wifi works well. The bathroom is good as shower is separate from toilet.
This was a pleasant hotel and a good stay. We had a few problems on check in because the reservation had been cancelled, but it was our fault because the card used for the reservation had not worked. It was a shame when they wanted to charge us three times the booking price however. They were prepared to compromise though, so we sorted the problem and thereafter enjoyed our stay. The room was very nice, a good size for Hong Kong hotel rooms, clean and well furnished. When we checked out the staff were very helpful again, working out the cheapest and easiest option to the airport and generally being very helpful.
Never have I stayed at a hotel were the staff are so RUDE!! I have never complained about a room when travelling but the room given to me at this hotel was DISGUSTING!! The room that i booked online was not the room that i was given, when I asked the staff at the front desk about my booking I was told "we don't have those rooms, it's just what the internet says"??? Really, so you advertise rooms that this hotel does not have? Their response was yes! Deryck at the front desk is the rudest person I have ever come across! The rooms are dark, dirty and need a complete make over. The photos you see on the website are not the rooms that they offer.
Very dated hotel with more bling than comfort. Needs to be renovated. It served our needs; a bed, a shower and a decent breakfast. Helpful staff. Really good location close to Nathan Rd. Unfortunately the Wi-fi sucks.
I like to think I am a happy go lucky kind of guy and take things on face value, but I cannot begin to say how disappointed I am in this hotel. I visited HK many years ago and stayed at the Ramada on the island for business. This time I had business on the mainland and stayed at the Ramada (Best Western Plus) name changed the day I arrived. Should have seen that coming ? When I arrived at 2:40pm local time on 1 March 2016, the foyer of the hotel was in a state of confusion the staff seemed to be so overwhelmed with patron checking in and out at the same time. No one person (hotel staff) seemed to be taking control. At 2.55pm I was advised that my room was not ready and would be about an hour or so. Therefore, I went for a walk. On my return the foyer somewhat empty, after my check in I received the card to room 1101. On opening the door, the first thing that registered was how dark the room was and the smell old stale and closed up. I returned to the desk, spoke about my concerns, and asked if they had another room after a short while, I received a card for another room on the same floor I think it was 1109 or something. Anyway, the room was the same as the last dark, smelly and bad. Another trip to the desk another discussion and I was advised the following “all rooms same very booked you take” I ask for the manager and was then accompanied to the 13th floor and entered 1306 this room was stale but did not have the cigarette smell. The desk staff were right about one thing the rooms are all the same old and very tried. The linen for the hotel needs replacing, old, worn, holed and outdated. Not to mention, the carpet with holes in it, mouldy tiles, dirty bathrooms and leaking toilet. When I booked I booked a “Superior deluxe with garden view” well funny thing this hotel does not have a garden, but you can have views of the alley on Granville Circuit or of Chatham Road. The breakfast area in the hotel is small, and the actual breakfast was lousy and cold, very limited choice for a buffet breakfast, get a new toaster, learn how to cook scrambled eggs and hot dogs sausages are not chicken sausages, When putting out fresh fruit remove the dead fly. My stay was less than enjoyable what a dump. Best Western you have a lot of work to do on this hotel I can see why Ramada sold you it. Better still burn it to the ground and start again.
We traveled by group last year and it was a great experience for all of us! When we arrived at the airport, we have our tour guide and bus ready going to our hotel. Our tour guide is very charming and funny! We arrived earlier so we have enough time before we will be heading to our next tour. Oh they have 13th floor and we are booked on that floor, it's luck 13 I guess! Staff are accommodating and greeted us with a warm smile. Worth for money is okay, place is very accessible to downtown and other areas. Over all stay in this hotel is Good!
I booked via Bookings.com and stayed in this hotel for two days with my family and go places from here to Victoria Peak, Harbour view, Tsing Yi Bridge and other places. I found that it is accessible by MTR, bus, taxi and tram when you want to go somewhere in HK. The hotel is clean and cozy. The staffs are good in english communication and helpful. Free wifi is provided and opted no breakfast coz I want to dine outside. Highly recommended value for quality service.
small rooms, but good to sleep. Request for rooms on non smoking floors if you not a smoker. close to Tsim Sha Sui metro link with lots of shopping and restaurants around. Expect some rudeness from hotel staff.
