"City hotel"
travellingmomde, 28 Juillet 2024

Very nice hotel with a great location within walking distance to the train station, the funicular and the historical harbor. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was extensive and delicious. Everybody at the reception was friendly and really helpful. I would recommend this place for a visit to this interesting city.

"Convenient location with friendly staff and tidy rooms"
Lov0li, 20 Juillet 2024

The Best Western Plus Hotel Genoa was absolutely fantastic. The location was perfect, just around the corner from the city center, and a close walk to the port and the main walking street. The rooms were spacious, quiet, and clean, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. Grace at the front desk was incredibly helpful, especially when we were stranded at Principe metro without any taxis around. The only downside was that the shampoo/body wash dispenser in our room was broken, causing the lid to keep falling off. Overall, a great stay with minor inconveniences. Highly recommended!

Fully recommend the network Best Western, especially the hotel in Genova, which locates directly in the center of Genova. There is a good fitness center and nice restaurant inside, where you can taste local dishes with sea food.

"Nice stay in city center."
TravelingMom370, 16 Janvier 2024

We liked our stay here. The restaurant was very good and the room was nice. We had some minor issues with the electrodes (usb plug not working etc) but when we told them, they fixed it. One suggestion - which i did provide to the hotel - to advise platinum level mbrs they get free water in the room. No one told us and well by the time we left 4 days later, someone mentioned it and we got water. The meal at breakfast was good and had a lot of options. The staff was nice too. Dinner was very good too. Parking, which i did tell them, was a bit pricey at €30 a day. While i do know they have to pay for garages i thought it was a little much in cost. The location was good. Got a little loud in our room late at night with people talking in the piazza near the fountain out front of the hotel. But not much could be done about that. Otherwise a nice stay and friendly staff. .

"Unexpected and pleasant"
Laura g, 15 Août 2023

Amazing stay at City Hotel close to the glamorous Via Roma. I have loved this quiet location and enjoyed both a large room and a rich breakfast experience. Grazie to all the Team and special thanks to the porters, wizards parking our car. Yes City Hotel has got a parking too: precious.

"Modern Comfort in an Ancient City"
NaMakani, 17 Juillet 2023

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in early June, ‘23. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it. The City Hotel is a modern, upbeat hotel in a good location – once you find it. Our car GPS had some difficulty with the small side street where it is located. From the main avenue the street appears to be a one-way that you should not enter, but it isn't. The street continues a short way into an upscale area and then dead-ends at the hotel. The hotel offers valet parking for 30 euro, and though that sounded expensive, it was worth it for the convenience. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Piazza Ferrari, a main hub of the city with concert hall, beautiful fountain, restaurants, shopping, and both metro and bus connections. In other direction a short walk brings you to the fabulous “mansion row” street that is a Genoa icon. The bright and cheery lobby area was connected to a highly rated restaurant where breakfast (very good) was served. The front desk staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We initially had difficulty accessing the internet from our room and though they weren't able to fix the problem right away, they saw to it that it was taken care of the next day. Our room (#725, a premium double) was good sized with lots of room for luggage and other items. There was a minibar area with coffee/tea making facilities, a safe, and a small fridge. The room also had a desk, a small reading chair, a comfortable king bed, and lots of outlets nearby. Our room had a so-so view of city rooftops and a peekaboo view of the harbor. Rooms lower that about the 5th floor with have very little view at all unless they were on the front side of the hotel. The bathroom was attractive, with shower, bidet, and a reasonable amount of counter space. All in all, the City Hotel is a good option for exploring Genoa – convenient, comfortable, and friendly,

"Best Western city plus in Genova, Italy"
travelsafer, 06 Juillet 2023

Nice hotel in the hilly part of Genova. It took some good walking and map navigation to get there from the restaurant near the water where we had dinner. Hotel was clean and quiet, staff was helpful. If we were to stay in Genova next time, we would stay here again.

"'What No Bar'"
Catullo99, 06 Juillet 2023

Great hotel and very accessible to all parts of the city. Good breakfast & the restaurant in the evening was pretty good. Comfy beds, pleasant room & very good service from the staff The only problem I had was that there was no bar, and I was directed to an Italian restaurant 30 yards away to get a beer, which I thought was pretty poor. I think some thought & planning is called for.

"The hotel location, stay and comfort level make for a wonderful holiday"
rlk2013, 08 Mai 2023

The hotel experience at Best Western is always excellent. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional and make our holiday all the better for it. The hotel is clean, comfortable and light and the beds and pillows are perfect for a good night sleep after a busy day. Located a 5 minute walk from the metro it is in the heart of Genoa and literally a 5-7 minute walk from all the palaces - and yet the hotel is quiet and a great place to relax. The breakfast experience is absolutely spot on with a huge choice and represents great value for money. One extra tip, at the time of visiting, the metro was free between 10am to 4pm and 8pm to 10pm. The funiculars were also free. I'm only sorry we couldn't stay longer and we'll definitely be back to stay in Genova within the next 12 months. Thank you for a great holiday

"Our 4th stay and it continues to be an excellent hotel."
SaleBazzer, 19 Novembre 2022

Our fourth stay here, and again it was excellent. The location is perfect for me and the staff are so attentive and helpful. The room was exactly as requested and ready when we arrived earlier than normal. It was the first time we have taken breakfast and it was well worth it. We will definitely stay again, as and when.

"Great hotel in excellent location"
kimbrennin, 13 Novembre 2022

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of this recently renovated hotel. Great bed, pillows and bathroom facilities. Common areas were pleasant and modern. Great choices for breakfast buffet and everything was very fresh.

"MODERN ROOM"
POKAMY, 11 Novembre 2022

Stayed for one night. The hotel is modern and cheerful. Its location is within the city center, a 25-min walk to the main train station. Breakfast offers lots of food and even a free cappuccino! There are several Best Western hotels in the area, I like this one because of its modern style and reasonable price.

"Comfortable with a lovely breakfast."
speerbuz, 19 Octobre 2022

The hotel is well-located, the room was comfortable, with the bonus for us of having a small balcony where we could sit and look out over the rooftops. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent.

"Very good hotel, perfect location"
ElisaP1306, 21 Septembre 2022

Clean hotel in the centre of the city. Very lovely staff, spacious room, wonderful breakfast. Probably need a quick refurbishment, but overall, a nice place to spend a few days. The breakfast was amazing. When I asked a vegan option, they made sure I would get it and it was lovely!

"Great stay"
mariealicemyhre, 13 Juillet 2022

Stayed here for one night. Central location and not far from the public parking garage or Via XX Settembre which is one is the Main streets in Genova. Staff was friendly and was very helpful at showing us where to find the garage. They room was clean and pretty spacious.

"Decent American style hotel. Great location."
Randy S, 22 Avril 2022

We stayed here for 3 nights in April. Price was 110 euros plus 30 euros a night for valet parking. Hard to get to the first time; Genoa has a maze of streets. The hotel is professionally run, the staff speaks English among others. There is an elevator, although it's tiny. We were on the 7th floor so it was a real plus. One drawback; there is no A/C until June. We left the window open so it wasn't too bad. The breakfast was very good with eggs, ham, sausage, cold cuts, toast, and the usual sweets done buffet style. The location is a "10" right in the heart of the city. They have a spa and sauna, but it costs 20 euros per person per day. This cost them a 4th star, as I would love to take a hot tub after a long walk around the city, but it's not worth 40 euros for 15 minutes in the tub. My advice: make it free or very cheap!

"Perfect Option for Location & Price/Quality"
Orsino, 09 Janvier 2022

We stayed four nights over New Year's and were really glad with the choice. The hotel is just a block from the tangle of streets of the Centro Storico and incredibly easy to reach by car. I liked that there were so many very good restaurants within easy walk of the hotel. Although Genoa is a working city, we never felt unsafe walking back to the hotel late at night. We didn't take the bus or tram while we were there but it seemed that public transportation was close and convenient from the number of stops we saw just a block or two from the front door. For the price paid I thought it was an excellent deal. The staff keeps everything very clean from the public areas to the rooms. The interiors seemed recently renovated and we appreciated the minimal design. The bedding was particularly comfortable. The bathroom was great: lots of space and a fully functional shower. We appreciated the self-serve business center to print out passports and proof of covid testing prior to our flight home. We didn't use the fitness center. There's an enormous public 24/7 garage across the street but valeting the car with the hotel was the same price. Their garage is in the building next door so there was never a wait for the car.

"Excellent location and friendly staff"
mikesand, 25 Décembre 2021

We recently spent time in Genoa and 2nd time used this hotel and again it did not disappoint. The location is perfect close to all central Amenities and shopping and is a excellent base for exploring. The rooms are of a good size with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms with tub to allow relax after a day walking! The staff are amazing, friendly and extremely helpful always willing to help and give advice but importantly making your stay comfortable!

"In the center of town"
Stephan1954, 28 Septembre 2021

Stayed here two nights in a king room. We got two single beds which were pretty narrow. Anyway it did not effect our nights' rest and there was hardly any noise from outside. Staff were friendly and spoke English. Breakfast was simple with limited choice and not much fresh fruit. All in all not a bad choice as the hotel is centrally located.

"Good central location"
Resque, 14 Septembre 2021

Property: Recently renovated. Clean. Elevator barely holds two people without luggage. There is a restaurant. The earliest breakfast is 7 AM. The earliest dinner is 7:30 PM. There is a well equipped fitness center. It has all the equipment including a bar bell but no dumb bells. There is a semi-private business center with two computer and a printer. Location: Centrally located in center city. The entrance is a bit hard to find. Easy walking distance to restaurants and most sites. Staff: Professional but not overly friendly. Room: We had a suite on the 8th floor with only two other rooms. Very quiet. Very large with living room, bedroom and bathroom. Walls and flooring were marble and tile. Modern bathroom. Shower had a wand with no shower curtain and an inadequate wall to avoid spraying outside the tub. The living room furniture was old and wooden, My knees did not fit under the desk while sitting on the covered kitchen chair. The furniture coverings were dowdy. The mattress was good with a good pillow choice. A/C was great. Price: Fair Breakfast: Good choices including scrambled eggs and sausage.

"Nice and quiet stay"
Rav92120, 14 Juillet 2021

The hotel is well located. Be careful it's difficult to park and the parking is really expensive. The room was nice and well furnished. The room was quiet. The staff was kind and really helpful. Breakfast was OK, a lot a choice, but pastries was not so good.

"One night stay"
OrlandoL08, 11 Décembre 2020

Nice place to stay over. It is located centrally so everything is close by. Rooms are no special but they have what you need. Price is ok and you have included a nice breakfast and surprisingly good dinner. 3 course dinner and very nice wine pairings that you have to pay. Staff is quite friendly

"Best in every way "
Jordan072, 24 Septembre 2020

I stayed at the downtown Best Western here in Genoa and it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The hotel was clean and beautiful. Housekeeping was thorough and quick. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel restaurant was superb. My stay is reimburseable by my employer and Andrea at the front desk provided for me all the documentation I needed to process a travel expense claim. Special thanks to Andrea! Best Western Plus City Hotel of Genoa is where I will stay every opportunity I get

"A Quality 4-Star Hotel in Genoa, Italy"
Icha, 09 Décembre 2019

The City Best Western Hotel is centrally located on via S. Sebastiano, in Genoa. The hotel is behind Via Roma, it is near Galeria Mazzini, the 3 Palaces, the Elevator for Spianata Castelleto, Via XX de Settembre etc.. The rooms are modern and obviosuly recently renovated. The rooms are well equipped with a modern bathroom and a large safe and a large TV (with several programs in English if you change the language on the remote). The room is not large, but adequate and very clean. The storage area is minimal with insufficient shelves. The front desk service is friendly and helpful with useful local knowledge of shopping etc.. We did not use the restaurant but it was clean and boosted a good menu. It is certainly an option for an extended stay. The gym is well equipped, comfortable and in good condition. Our stay was pleasant and the price was reasonable (when bought some time ahead) for a weekend. We can recommend this newly refurbished and very clean hotel without any hesitation.

"Great location"
Quest565869, 18 Novembre 2019

The location is very convenient to historic center and some nice shops around the corner. We were on the second floor so at night there was a lot of street noise, made it hard to sleep even with windows closed. Temperature of the room was too hot (even with cold weather outside) and we were told to "just open the window" if we wanted it cooler. Not a good solution. Otherwise, the hotel was comfortable and clean.

"Lovely stay"
740ellies, 12 Octobre 2019

Stayed for 3 night in October room 625, the room was spacious, well equipped, clean and had a lovely balcony. Breakfast options were plentiful and staff always friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located Only let down and hence the 4 rating and not 5 given that I was travelling for work an iron and ironing board would have been very helpful. All in all great stay

"Nice location & breakfast "
SuzanneSays, 08 Octobre 2019

Location is very convenient to city center, walking distance to many sights and shopping. Room was quiet and comfortable and breakfast buffet was good. Also good coffee. Staff front desk service was very average; they prefer to say no.

"GREAT HOTEL!"
Joanna_Wozna, 08 Septembre 2019

Excellent central location in historical area while very quiet. Fabulous breakfast, plenty of choices. Helpful staff. Family rooms could be bigger. Small but very good relaxation area incl sauna and hot tub available at limited time but free of charge.

"Perfect location and service"
AnikoHu, 22 Août 2019

The hotel is in the middle of Genova, everything is in walking distance. The staff, the service was perfect. The breakfast was the same every day but good choice for the most needs. The room was cozy and comfortable. The spa is small but there is a jacuzzi, a Turkish bath, a sauna. The Wi-Fi connection was instable and slow. If we return to Genova, we will choose this hotel again.

"Excellent all around"
mdiavd, 14 Août 2019

This hotel is in a GREAT location and within walking distance of everything you would want to see in Genoa. Rooms are a good size and comfortable, AC was great. Staff were super friendly and welcoming.

"Great location , nice clean hotel , friendly staff"
maxbeth, 22 Juillet 2019

My family of four booked a room with bunk beds , the rooms were clean the hotel was immaculate, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly . I booked the room with breakfast and I was very pleased with the breakfast, the staff were so nice my son didn't like the coffee the staff made him a cappuccino with a smiley face . The hotel is in walking distance to everything . We stayed her 2 nights before taking a cruise . I would definitely recommend this hotel .

"great welcome and service"
SaleBazzer, 03 Juillet 2019

My third visit to this excellent hotel and the service particularly at Reception gets better and better. It is located in a small square just off the smart via Roma. The hotel is handily placed near to Piazza Ferrari which in my opinion is the best part of Genoa and a short walk to the Port.

"Great Location & great choice at breakfast BUT noisy hotel with no air conditioning and poor receptionists."
Lola006, 31 Mai 2019

On the negative side - Upon arrival the lady receptionist refused to acknowledge that we had paid for Bed & Breakfast and charged us for breakfast although we had paid for it when we booked. Also it was sweltering hot at night she also refused to give us a fan and insisted the rule for the air conditioning was 1st of June - this was on the 28th of May. Also we asked for feather pillows for both of us but they only gave for one person. We were on the 7th floor but we had to have windows wide open as it was hot and there was a lot of neighborhood noise well into the early hours of the morning so we did not get much sleep. On the positive side, its very central to everything we wanted to do and the breakfast staff were excellent with loads of choice with fresh fruit and fresh products.

"Great hotel in a perfect location"
Eric K, 27 Mai 2019

The fact that it is on what appears to be a cul de sac is great as it is very quiet, but is misleading - it is actually a small through street. Hotel staff was very helpful. Worth noting: - you need to use your room key to get the elevator to go to any sleeping floor - there is a great hot tub, salt room, steam room, and sauna hidden in the -2 floor (there are drinks and apples in the salt room) The in hotel restaurant is great, and run by an outside group. It is very popular with the locals so do make an evening reservation (and try the almond shrimp).

"Good location, close to Metro station, very helpful staff"
max-pls, 13 Mai 2019

5 minute walk from De Ferrari Metro station. Very good hotel with great breakfast for a reasonable price. I chose to stay in Genoa to visit Cinque Terre area. Staff at this hotel is very kind and helpful. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I will definitely return.

"First time business trip to Genoa"
John A, 08 Mai 2019

We asked the system for a hotel close to the centre and it came up with an excellent choice. Very convenient for shops, restaurants and transport. On the first evening we strolled around the narrow streets (you could call them alleys, snickets, ginnels, or a number of other UK names) and down to the port area. The rooms are well appointed and spacious with very good sized beds. The room facilities are excellent and my colleague said the gym and spa were worth a visit (I decided to stay unfit). Breakfast is a good spread in a light airy room with pleasant serving staff.

"Excellent stay with excellent breakfast!"
Kendra M, 03 Mai 2019

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights to travel to Cinque Terre for the day. It was a very pleasant stay with excellent staff. Everyone we spoke with was pleasant and helpful! The staff helped us find an AiC certified (gluten free) restaurant close by which was extremely helpful. The menu for the restaurant on site is pretty much all sea food (unfortunately for me!) Our room was comfortable and a decent size. The bathroom was well equipped and I loved that they had thought of environmentally friendly alternatives to soap and conditioner by having dispensers instead. The wellness centre was perfect after our hike during the day. While it was open and free to use, the sauna wasn't functioning after 9 pm. You can use your card to use the Turkish bath and all the other amenities are still free to use after 9 pm. We enjoyed the breakfast thoroughly! They had lots of gluten free options for me and lots of variety and fresh items in general. By far the best breakfast we had during our trip to Italy. My only “complaint” would be our cards didn't work in the one elevator. We could only use the service elevator to go up which caused for quite a bit of confusion and frustration when we were tired and just trying to check in or get back to our room. We figured it out but even after getting help from the front desk it went from not working in either elevator to only working in the service elevator.

"Perfect to visit Genoa"
david280472, 11 Janvier 2019

Good quality rooms, newly refurbished and with good size, and calm. The location is the best to visit Genoa. All the people working in the hotel were very kind. We did not get to try the gym nor the breakfast.

"Good hotel, good location and with a sensational on-site 'Wellness Centre'"
Craig_Tapper, 10 Janvier 2019

If you come to Genoa, I'd strongly recommend that you stay here (but check that the Wellness Centre is in operation). Wished I'd gone there at least one more time. It has a state of the art Turkish Steam Room, Sauna, Jacuzzi and a Salt Room (i.e plays soft music while you sip herbal tea sitting in a high backed chair breathing in air purified with Himalayan Salt). In the words of Tom Ford, I feel f@#ing fabulous! One of the best things of its type that I have experienced. Rooms are good 3-4 star, rate was reasonable 99Euros in early January 2018, breakfast is good and the gym is above average for a European hotel. Convenient to most things you want to do (10-15 minute walks with lots closer) surrounded by good bars and restaurants.

"too small room and uncomfortable"
Amine A, 20 Novembre 2018

I never had a small room like this one here in my life. Being Gold or Platine status doesn't help for getting upgraded or having a nicer room, but not sure they have nice rooms. Really uncomfortable night and noisy bathroom.

"Home to a warm welcome, efficient service, and an abundance of kindness"
Luca1932, 18 Octobre 2018

I would not describe City Hotel Best Western as a luxury hotel, but it does a five star plus job of being its four star self. Designed for both business trips and tourism, for us it has been truly our home in our visits to Genoa, where my husband grew up. This time we arrived to managerial and reception staff greeting us warmly, taking our luggage to a nice, well-sized room on the sixth floor with a small terrazza, where the rose I had asked for to be there on arrival for my husband in honor of our 25th wedding anniversary awaited as per request. The style of the rooms is contemporary, tastefully redone recently in taupe with turquoise accents. Quality of the bed is excellent, shower is excellent, there isspace in minibar fridge for things you add yourself. Efficient business center with computers and printer, located on a small street behind the opera house and central piazza, could not be more quiet and central. Once again our visit was not mostly pleasure: we had organized a memorial lunch for my father-in-law and spent much of our time in cemeteries, banks, and city hall. The warmth of the whole staff, from breakfast servers to reception to managers, made dealing with beaurocracies, sadness and a city broken in half by the Morante bridge falling down so much easier--there were always warm smiles to return "home" to. Mille grazie a tutti --allo prossimo! My only regret about our stay is that we had chosen to stay in a "regular" room instead of the suite we love. If we could remake the choice, we would opt for the additional space and beautiful views we've come to feel are "ours".

"Terrible for business travelers and very unprofessional"
CDE82, 14 Septembre 2018

This stay was a miserable experience. I booked this hotel, paying twice what I would normally pay, because I had business and needed to sleep before an early morning flight to Paris. However the music from outside the hotel at night (starting around 22:00 and onward) was so loud and close that the windows were rattling. The hotel had these wooden window slats on the glass windows which made much noise from the music. I tried to call down to the front desk to ask for a different room or to see if there were ear plugs, but the phone did not work. So I got dressed and went downstairs, and nicely asked for assistance. This is where the problems began. The hotel refused to move me (there was another affiliated hotel a block away), and did not have any ear plugs. They said the music was "not their problem." Although I appreciate the fact that the hotel itself was not making the noise, it is common practice to have ear plugs for guests in such situations. Avoid this hotel if you can because it is awful and unprofessional. I stayed in places all over Italy for much less money and this was the worst stay of my whole trip.

"Second stay at this terrific hotel"
SaleBazzer, 12 Septembre 2018

The staff at this hotel are excellent. They are polite, cheerful, helpful and very efficient. The location is perfect for us, in the centre of the major attractions and offering good communications. There is a restaurant called Pesciolino which is inside the hotel offering very good food and wine - if perhaps a little expensive. When we visit Genoa again we are certain to pick this hotel.

"Great hotel and location"
Savannah P, 12 Septembre 2018

We stayed here for one night after we disembarked from a cruise we took. The location was perfect! We could walk all over the city without issue. The hotel itself was very clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The staff went above and beyond to help us. They held onto our luggage prior to check in, and after we checked out while we had time to kill before our flight. They directed us to their favorite places around the city to see. The wellness center on the bottom floor was excellent and very clean. It was a relaxing way to end the day after walking all over the city and enjoying such a beautiful place. My only critique would be to not have people cleaning or doing work in the hallways prior to 8am. It did get loud in the morning when we were still sleepy, I believe some work was being done on our floor.

"Good location"
Lyon, 26 Août 2018

The location of the hotel is excellent for exploring and enjoying all facets of Genova. The reception was cordial and the valet parking much appreciated (as generally parking is a problem in Genova). Excellent breakfast and a quiet and clean room! Coming again to Genova we ´certainly would stay there again!

"Nice hotel and location"
Ceilings, 25 Août 2018

We just spent 2 nights at BW plus city hotel, the location is excellent, as were all the staff. Highly recommend the breakfast, wide choice of food, drinks and great service. It is a modern hotel with reasonable sized rooms, many good restaurants very near. We will certainly stay here on our next visit to Genoa, it was comfortable, quiet, good location and great staff at a reasonable rate.

"Excellent location & service"
Casasugarloaf, 10 Juillet 2018

We stayed here for one night, which wasn't long enough. The location is in a great part of town & the staff are very helpful. The lifts are very tight though, so expect to take a couple of trips if travelling with a family. Buffet breakfast is great and caters to all tastes.

"Friendly hotel"
GaultandMillaeu, 01 Juillet 2018

Simple, well-equipped, clean rooms. Rich breakfast at good prices. The morning coffee and panettone are the finest! Helpful staff. good location for sightseeing. I can only recommend it to anyone. Thank you from 625 room.

"The only "Plus" was the room temperature"
alabastie, 19 Juin 2018

I stayed at this hotel with my family on May 22nd 2018 for just one night. The hotel is centrally located and relatively close to the major historical attractions in the city. The first problem we encountered was with the elevators. My mother moves around in a wheelchair and the two elevators are too small to accommodate even a small foldable transport chair. My mother can walk slowly, so this wasn't a major problem but if you are planning to get to your room sitting in a wheelchair that will be impossible. The really big problem, however, is the absolute lack of air conditioning until the first of June (and this is four-star hotel). The rooms are nice for a European hotel and relatively large and modern. There is a nice electronic screen on the wall to set up the temperature but no matter how much you play with it it will never start. Not even the fan. When I complained at the front desk I was told that the air conditioning is not activated until June 1st, since the system can only work giving heat or air conditioning but not both. This was late May in Italy, and not exactly a typical warm spring day, however, it was impossible to sleep that night due to the high temperature inside the room. Keeping the window open is not really an option as there is no air current into the room and there is a restaurant/bar right at the entrance to the hotel with outside sitting that is "party central" until late at night. And, of course, with the window open you will be able to track the comings and goings of the entire Genoa emergency and fire department vehicles through the night plus everybody walking or driving on the streets at night. When I complained to the hotel I was told it was "technically impossible" to have a system that would be able to provide heat and cold air at the same time, which obviously shows this people don't go out much ;) Just the day before I had stayed for three nights at the Best Western Hotel City in Milan with perfectly working air conditioning and then four nights at the Best Western Blu Hotel in Rome also without any problems activating the air conditioning. In Canada (or in any other place for that matter) you can activate your air conditioning in Fort McMurray, Alberta, in January if you so want. What was really lamentable was the complete lack of empathy of the people at the front desk about this problem. Their attitude made me wonder if perhaps the hotel is owned by the Italian State and I was dealing with public employees. They simply couldn't care less. So, If you are going to Italy at any time before June 1st, stay away from this place. I am sure there are lots of hotels in Genoa that will be able to offer what a simple Super 8 motel will give you anywhere in North America.

"Central location yet peaceful"
sallyheraty, 18 Juin 2018

The location was excellent, because it was just off Via Roma which is were the designer shops are located. You should arrange beforehand if you need to use the Car park. We left the car parked for the duration of our stay and choosing to walk everywhere. Good selection (including local products) for breakfast. We did not eat in at dinner, instead we chose nearby restaurants. As we discovered on our first night, you need to book beforehand at the most popular restuarants! The hotel is suitable for all age groups. It was a bank Holiday weekend, so there were lots of families.

"Great location and service"
Bart M, 16 Juin 2018

Modern hotel right in the center of the old town and connected directly to the newer shopping area. Easy to reach by car. Convenient valet parking in the building right next door. Parking is 25 euro. Comfortable air conditioned rooms with a good size walk in shower. Some rooms on the 6th floor have an outside roof terrace. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Towels should be put on the floor for cleaning. Even when wet they do not change them if you don't. Extensive good quality breakfast buffet. Professional service levels.

"Centrally located and efficient mid-range hotel"
GypsyKingBrussels, 01 Juin 2018

Location: in a pedestrian street, a few steps away from Piazza De Ferrari, where you can also take the Metro; all main sights are at walking distance. When arriving by car, you can drive your car up to the hotel to leave your luggage, but then you need to move it pretty fast. There is a garage at the hotel, but it's rather tiny so you may want to use the one in Piazza Piccapietra (hoping it's not full though). Premises: inside it has a new look and feel, but it's clearly an older hotel that was refurbished a few years ago. Don't expect any "grandeur", but then you don't pay for that either. Service: staff is very friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast: good choice of products, not huge but at 8 Euro it meets expectations. Room: not overly spacious, but efficient enough, pretty quiet as the surrounding streets are not noisy at night; the bathroom was not very big but workable. WiFi: reliable and fast in the room and all common places Overall: all in all good value for money, especially in view of the central location

"It's a thumbs up from me!"
wanderlust4life63, 31 Mai 2018

As a chain, Best Western can be hit and miss, but this hotel is fabulous! Excellent location just off the main piazza and round the corner from Via Garibaldi, but tucked away so it's lovely and quiet. Rooms were spotless and huge. Breakfast was delicious: full range of options and actual proper coffee. Very happy!

"One very noisy night spoiling the experience"
SaleBazzer, 22 Mai 2018

I would have given this hotel full marks, however, one night ruined the experience. We stayed in room 122 at the front of the hotel above reception. Unfortunately this is opposite to a restaurant called Mua. On Saturday night this restaurant/club hosted a very noisy party with a live band followed by a disco. The windows were thrown open and we were hit with the full blast. There were also party goers outside reception in the small square making a noise. This was a great pity as I thought the hotel was excellent, the staff were very efficient and polite and there was a good restaurant and fitness facilities. The main attraction of the hotel is it's location, just off the main square and close to Strada Nuova and the waterfront. It is close to Brignole train station about 20 minutes walk which provides connections to the Levante towns.

"Great hotel but no A/C "
Claire J, 08 Mai 2018

Genoa was experiencing warmer than usual temperatures in May and being on a high floor the room was hot and stuffy. Soon learnt the air-conditioning ‘doesn't get turned on till June' ... so we had to open up our room each day naturally... this was ok but noisy being in the centre of town. Great service, breakfast and amenities in room.

"Very clean and nice hotel!"
LavinaUS, 22 Avril 2018

I had a business trip to Genoa and my husband decided to join me on the trip. The hotel is small (between 60-70 beds) and the it is almost fully renovated. They have a lovely breakfast with lots of very sweet breakfast items; however the cappuccino was excellent and even though I am not a coffee drinker, I had a cup of cappuccino every morning for breakfast. They also had tons of fruits and vegetables and they would make fresh smoothies for you. The front desk and the breakfast staff were all super nice, friendly and Grace would ask us how our day was. It's about a 2 min walk to Piazza de Ferrari and quite central. Once you get onto Via Sebastian - the shopping mall is right across the street which has all the high end stores. The rooms are a tad small - compared to what we are used to seeing in the US; the shower and the shower door was so small - my husband had to turn sideways to go in and out as he is a tall and big guy. The other negative is until June, they do not turn on the air conditioner, and the week that we were in Genoa, it was bloody hot. Thank god we had a room with a balcony - so we kept it open the entire time we were in the room as well as at night. We did not eat at the hotel any night for dinner, however I understand that the food is quite good.

"Best Spot - Great for Families"
Deanna B, 09 Avril 2018

We had been traveling with a group in Italy, but decided to stay on our own in Genova. We decided on the Best Western Plus City Hotel based on the reviews and it did not disappoint! We traveled with three teenage boys and the rooms were extremely roomy with enough space for everyone. Beautifully appointed and right in the middle of everything! This being our first time to Europe, the staff was extremely helpful and made our check in and experience easy so we had more time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

"Great staff"
Aliona8, 23 Mars 2018

The hotel is very clean with a nice lobby. However, the room we had was super tiny and was facing a building, which completely prevented natural light. So, even, with the lights on the room is very gloomy. It gets a little depressing after a while. I still recommend this hotel, because of its staff. They were all fantastic, from super nice breakfast ladies, who could not do enough for us and our kid, to always helpful receptionists. It does not hurt that the best fish restaurant in the city is right in the hotel. The food every evening was divine. Dont go anywhere else for dinner. Porto Antico is a 15 minute slow walk away. Breakfast was great, with all the staples there and a few nice surprises. Parking, though expensive, is safe and the car is conveniently brought to and from by the hotel employee.

"Very good"
Zornitsa A, 16 Mars 2018

Very good hotel, very close to subway station at Piazza De Ferrari - 2 minutes walking. Very comfortable bed, good laundry service. Excellent breakfast. Best capichino I have ever had. Lots of different fruits for breakfast, not only the common ones. Breakfast is paid separately.

"exceded expectations"
walkingdoctorB, 19 Février 2018

We chose this hotel after reading excellent reviews and were not disappointed. In fact it was even better than we expected. We had a friendly welcome on arrival and the staff throughout our stay were very helpful. Everywhere was immaculately clean. The hotel is in a very central location, easy walking to all the sights, yet tucked away in a side street so reasonably quiet. The whole ambiance of the hotel is of quiet and calm. Our room was nicely decorated and the comfort of the bed (and pillows) were among the best we have had in a hotel, and it was really appreciated to have a kettle and teas/ coffee in the room. The breakfasts were fantastic! Superb choice of hot and cold foods and drinks and a good variety of gluten free items. The staff were attentive and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, even giving all the ladies a rose on Valentine's Day!

"My favourite hotel in Genova"
Roy L, 10 Février 2018

Easily accessible by car, the conciërge takes care of the car ( private parking garage nearby €15/day). Fast check-in, nice, clean and up to date room for three persons. Fantastically located, 200 meters away from Via Garibaldi, you can simply explore Genova by foot.

"Lovely hotel with best terrace I have ever come across"
Sharon G, 14 Janvier 2018

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel and it was fabulous. we booked a suite and it was amazing. There was a huge terrace with just amazing views over the city. The room was also great especially if you are a family - we had a bunk bed and king and it suited our family of 5 well. It was spacious and nice. Breakfast was also good and check in and out good. Wifi great. My only complaint is slow service in restaurant - in order to get served I had to complain to reception. The food was good though.

"Five stars from me... if not for the noise!"
52_hotels_in_2012, 15 Novembre 2017

Pros: - Location: (Walking) Teatro Carlo Felice (3mins), Piazza De Ferrari (4mins), Piazza Matteotti and Santi Ambrogio e Andrea (6mins), Porta Soprana and Columbus's House (8mins), Cathedral of San Lorenzo (8mins). - Bathroom amenities: Liquid hand soap, body lotion, toothbrush/toothpaste, vanity kit, shaving kit, shoe sponge, combined shampoo/bodywash and one of the best hairdryers I have ever come across in a hotel! - Free in-room WiFi (good speeds around 22Mbps). - USB charging ports next to bed! - Clean modern room with comfortable bed and pillows. Good in-room lighting and friendly staff. Cons: - Noise. Major refurbishment works were taking place literally outside my door all day, from early in the morning. The hotel should really block rooms in this case. I couldn't sleep and couldn't work. - Breakfast is a mixed bag. One can see they are trying hard but this was the first coffee in Italy that I couldn't drink. I was also surprised at the lack of cornetti/brioche for an Italian hotel.

"exceeds expectations for a characterless chain hotel"
Brian D, 01 Novembre 2017

I would not normally ever give what is a boring characterless chain "sleeping place" hotel 5 stars. Of course the star system means different things to different people. Anyway all the facilities of this one (with one exception) exceeded expectations. The room was large and very well fitted. Good comfortable bed with excellent pilllows (unlike many). Kettle & coffee/tea making stuff. Fridge. Large high quality TV. Plenty of electric sockets & even bedside USB charging sockets! Bathroom contained what I was assured was The Best Ever hotel bathroom hairdryer . Unfortunately for me bathroom was only bad bit - no soap (or shampoo). Only 2 public convenience style dispensers of liquid cleaning stuff. Excellent huge shower with standad and "rain" head. Restaraurant looked plesant but not used. City centre location is perfect. 15min walk down to the port/waterfront.

"Would go for the 3rd time"
Päkkänä P, 28 Octobre 2017

2 visits in this hotel and would for sure go for the 3rd time. Location of the hotel is idea. Very close by to everything but located in a small quiet alley. Rooms are decorated nicely. Some of the rooms are not really having any view if you happen to get a room where the window is opposite of the next building within 2 meters. Breakfast is good and nice. They also arrange you a take a way breakfast if you leave very early. The absolute gem is in the top floor. There are 2 rooms with a balcony. You can see up to the sea, mountains and over the rooftops of the city of Genova. One of the room is accommodating 4 people which is a idea for a family.

"So-so hotel"
FMD88528, 19 Octobre 2017

First on the plus: 1. VG location 2. VG breakfast at EUR 6! 3. Lobby is presentable & welcoming; 4. Room size is good 5. Nice bathroom Negatives: 1. Grace (an Asian receptionist) is indifferent & not customer-friendly. She should learn how to smile; if she cannot, she should find another job, not in a hospitality business. 2. Room is noisy if it is facing the road because of the resto. 3. Warm room because the hotel turned off the aircon due to supposedly cool weather. 4. Presence of mosquitoes because we ended up opening the windows to cool the room.

"Quiet, convenient location between Via Garibaldi and Piazza Ferrari"
Wendell D, 19 Octobre 2017

Having never been to Genoa before, we were fortunate to find this hotel on a small square that's an easy walk to both the elegant palazzi and museums on Via Garibaldi and the Opera and Cathedral near Piazza Ferrari. Our compact double room was clean, modern and fully equipped. The bathroom was spacious, though the stall shower was a bit small. The long, spacious breakfast room off the lobby was an handsome modern design. The buffet was fabulous. The staff friendly and helpful. Pesciolino, a sleek highly ranked privately-owned seafood restaurant, is accessed directly off the lobby ... a wonderful added amenity for this well-managed hotel.

"Great breakfast for reasonable price, well located, friendly staff"
Suzy H, 16 Octobre 2017

We loved this hotel - the room was spacious (though the elevator was tiny), staff were friendly and helpful, the on-site breakfast was 6 euros and a very good buffet with lox, eggs, bacon, pastries, etc. The hotel was well-located - close to lots of interesting places. We got hopelessly lost walking around as Genoa is not a grid city and it took a while to get our bearings but once we discovered how close everything was we were delighted. (And there is a restaurant across the courtyard with great food - especially the spaghetti carbonara.)

"Nice hotel"
anthughes29, 24 Septembre 2017

Recently spent a week at is hotel. Check in no problem despite getting there pretty late. I'd had several email exchanges with them before arriving and they were really helpful. The hotel was decent and really nice rooms with comfortable bed. It also has a wellness room, basically a sauna and steam room. I used it 3 or 4 times and was a nice addition. Had breakfast there 3 times during the stay and was really nice and very good value at 6 euros. Also the reception staff gave us a couple of good recommendations for restaurants in the area.

"Very Good Stay"
demos n, 14 Septembre 2017

Stayed for 2 nights mid August 2017 in a family room (2 adults, a 5yo and an 1yo boys). Excellent location few minutes by taxi from the train and bus station. check in was very quick and smooth. Only unfortunate issue with this hotel is the elevator on the right corner...very very small, could only fit 1 adult and 1 child in a pram (barely)...we were given a family room on the top floor which was very spacious, had an exquisite view of the town from above and a big balcony..i found some time to relax with a book at the balcony and believe me...the view was second to none!!...all in all we had great time, definitely recommended and very good value for money hotel!! gave it a 4 instead of 5 due to the elevator issue..

"Great hotel "
cdell21, 13 Septembre 2017

This hotel was fantastic, from the moment I booked the room, I requested a twin room and asked about gluten free products at breakfast, this was swiftly replied to arranging a twin room and informing me that the hotel provided gluten free products. We arrived at about 9pm in the evening, the concierge arranged for the car to be valet parked. The hotel is clean and spacious for a city hotel. The room was great, modern and well kept. Perfect location for walking around Genoa, the port can be reached within 15 min walk. The service of the breakfast staff and reception staff was brilliant and they made our stay great. Would definitely come and stay here again on my next visit to Genoa.

"Wonderful stay"
Sisur4e, 26 Août 2017

Great location, interior and food! The hotel is within walking distance to everything.Really very modern style .Very friendly staff.Overall fab stay and I would highly recommend it to everyone.Thank you for the great hospitality!

"Robbed at the Reception !!!"
Delqna H, 17 Août 2017

I was robbed at the front desk of this hotel. The reception staff behaved with us arrogant. In the presence of 3 cameras at reception, no one gave us access to the records. The hotel manager was on holiday, until the end of our stay and then did not get in touch with us personally. We received several emails later from management that explain that they do not take responsibility for what happened. Although the staff at the front desk we reassured that if it is determined that I was robbed in the territory of the hotel, they are responsible. Something that the video of 3 cameras proves. I do not recommend this hotel, we have not got such an attitude anywhere in the world!

"Ok hotel great location"
travelisgreat, 16 Août 2017

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The signage for the hotel is small so it is not easy to find. The location is good. The elevator is small and slow. One day it took us 20 minutes for an elevator. Then the room we had was small. There was no room to move around as the bed took up the room. The bathroom was just as bad, I am not super skinny but not obese and I had to squeeze into the shower. As for the breakfast it is ok, but the egg water is not hot so it took 20 minutes for a soft boiled egg.

"Saved our Genoa vacation"
travelfiend_30, 10 Août 2017

We were originally booked at the Bristol Palace but were immensely disappointed with the hotel and service so we switched hotels. The Best Western offered nicer service, cleaner hotels and rooms, better location, functioning wifi and an overall more pleasant stay. It might be less charming than other options as it is a typical modern hotel, but its nice to find a place where everything works and is well put together. Definitely a recommended option for Genoa.

"Very pleasant stay"
Geordielassme, 07 Août 2017

We were not disappointed on our decision to book this hotel for 5 nights. The location is excellent, in a courtyard off the street, so no traffic noise. The surrounding streets are full of the top end designer stores so very clean. The walk to the harbour is quick and easy, the metro stop is a minute away and the shops right near by. The family room was a good size, very comfortable, very clean, good modern bathroom. The spa was a great extra although the jacuzzi was out of order which was disappointing. Breakfast room is nice and a good selection for all. Good staff and service. Genoa really surprised us, we had a great time.

"So surprised- amazing!"
Llpay45, 12 Juillet 2017

Really loved staying here- never stayed at a Best Western as usually in the UK they're not the best. The breakfast was to die for with lots of local products to eat (focaccia was delicious) and there's was lots of choice. The rooms were nice; good wifi, good TV and comfy beds with lovely bathrooms. Only thing that could be improved would be the bunk beds in a family room- wasn't much room for a tall person. Overall such a nice place also great value for money!

"Hotel in Genova"
Kawama512, 10 Juillet 2017

This hotel has an excellent location in the heart of the old town of Genoa, the price includes breakfast, the rooms are comfortable, the service is very good. You are at walking distance from the Cathedral, and they have a bike cycle that takes you all over town for a few dollars

"Still My Favorite Hotel in Europe"
dulcearzeno, 01 Juillet 2017

3 years ago I reviewed this hotel after being in 13 cities. Now I went again (after visiting more than 23 cities) and it is better in so many ways. They renovated it. Now it has a gym, that's why it is PLUS. They park your car, but you could leave it at the front of the hotel. You don't need the universal adapter. They have the USB connector on the wall on the night table. If you like to use your clothes ironed like me just ask for it and they will take it to your room. The bathroom has a dispenser of disposable plastic bags. Not one hotel I visited in the past has this. The breakfast is my favorite. Salmon, burrata, whole mozarella cheese, all kinds of bread, croissants, eggs broiled and scrambled, cereals, jams, different cheeses, yogurt, fruits, ham, salami, pancake and syrup, juices, milk and coffee, biscuits, cakes, muffins, etc. The staff was very helpful and kind. This will always be the most economic hotel in Europe. Thank you Best Western Plus of Genoa.

"Little Gem"
jump50, 28 Juin 2017

Great find from among the hotels offered from a search engine. Convenient to walk to town and waterfront. Efficient helpful staff. A lovely room overlooking the rooftops. Taken by surprise at the leisure facilities in the basement, with a Jacuzzi, tropical shower, steam room, sauna, and relaxation room. Robes and flip flops supplied. Just couldn't work out how to operate steam room. Breakfast was a revelation! Choice of coffee - we had cappuccino. Made to order juices from a selection of fruit and veg. Cereals, delicious yoghurts, pastries, and hot food - eggs, bacon, sausages etc. And all for 6 euros!

"Best $100 a night hotel"
Kamb60, 24 Juin 2017

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. Location was amazing, walking distance to endless choices for cafes, restaurants, shops and to Porto Antico. Very modern, clean and great staff. The first hotel I have been to that you can plug your phone for charge through USB. Even though I had my Italian adapter, it was a nice touch. They had a couple of restaurants and a full on spa that I didn't get around to try. The cocktail bar just out side the hotel was very nice and reasonable, literally a few feet!

"Poor service Clueless Staff"
Al F, 08 Mai 2017

We speak Italian English and Spanish so language isn't the barrier. When asked for a recommendation for a restaurant that was gluten free we were sent to two restaurants that had NOTHING on the menu that was gluten free. Also when we checked in the room had not been cleaned and a argument followed in Italian amongst the staff about moving us a floor or making us wait 3 hours. So 3 hours it was..... Don't ask this hotel for directions and rely on your GPS on your phone. Off street parking and good breakfast as well as clean rooms.

"Good value centrally located hotel"
Goingnutsinchina, 30 Avril 2017

Due to the recommendation of people in Genoa I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It's centrally located to shops, a five minute walk to the metro and close to several restaurants. All tourist areas are easily accessed and a downhill walk of about 10 minutes or so takes you down to the water front. Service at the hotel was good. The breakfast was very good value for the choice of food. The only slight criticism is very poor sound proofing from nearby rooms. Kids running and jumping in the room next door, seemed as if they were in MY room!

"Very good location, nice rooms and good breakfast "
MushyMikro, 28 Avril 2017

Very close to the city center, Piazza De Ferrari is just around the corner. The breakfast was quite good, good value for money. The car park is not in the Hotel but quite close and it costed us 25€ per day. We were quite pleased with our stay.

"Just 2 nights"
Bo H, 21 Avril 2017

Another business trip to another town and hotel Had made the reservation and arrived. All ok only question if I wanted Parking. 25,- euro per day - well a lot of money but the car was locked away inside Staff very friendly. My room 625 with a nice terrace with view over the roof tops of Genoa Very close to the Marina and in City Centre. Couldn't be better Nice rooms Fine gym Great relax/spa area with sauna, Turkish bath, spa and relax room Free coffee/ tea over the stay. The hotels wifi access is fir free and good even in the lift and spa !! This hotel has the probably best ever breakfast buffet. You choose the veggies for your juice and it's made fresh Great variety and great staff. This is certainly the most positive hotel stay/surprise in quite some time. Oh yeah last but not least. When I got my car to back north the hotel had cleaned the car windscreen:-) I'll be back Bo Harbeck

"Modern, clean, central hotel, but a bit noisy"
HemeraBirmingham, 26 Mars 2017

I struggled with whether to give this hotel a three or a four. It is a nice hotel, very modern, good sized rooms (well ours was), clean, nice staff and in a great part of town. Close to everything and right amongst the most expensive shops. My issue was the room was quite noisy in two ways; on one night we had a family in the next door room. I felt I could hear everything, their coughing, flicking through the TV channels, curtains being opened and closed etc. That said the following two nights I didn't hear anything at all. If that noise had continued, this review would be a lot worse. The greater noise came from outside. We were five floors up, street side. There is a bar opposite the hotel and it played music every night until 12am. Not great. And although on a small side street, the hotel is very close to a larger road, so there was a bit of traffic noise too. If you travel in the summer, it was March when we visited, it probably won't be an issue as you can have the air con on. We did ask about the air con being turned on as we always book air conditioned hotels, but we were told it only gets turned on in June?! So, if you're OK with a warmer room and could sleep with the window closed, you'd probably be OK. However, we're British and used to the cool and for us the room was way too warm with the window closed. I'd stay here again, but only in the summer when the air con works.

"Better than many UK venues"
cmw32, 04 Janvier 2017

We booked a night here on our way through Europe and were pleasantly surprised by both the standard of room and the welcome by reception staff despite arriving at ridiculous o'clock in the morning. The room was a really good size and the bed and bedding was better than the usual BW UK fare. Breakfast was an interesting mix of cuisines to satisfy most palates although some of the hot-plated foodstuffs were past their best. We did however especially like the Make Your Own Pancakes machine.

"A good brand standard Best Western"
theresaheadinit, 03 Janvier 2017

For my review bias, for the last 13 years I have stayed approximately 100 nights a year in the Intercontinental / Holiday Inn Group chain and approximately 10 nights a year in the Best Western chain. I have stayed on and off at this hotel over the last 10 years Last date of stay = 18-20th December 2016 My ongoing experience of the hotel is as follows: 1) Arrival can be a little tricky to find as the hotel is sat back off in a cul-de-sac off the VIA ROMA on via di SAN SEBASTIANO assuming you are also familiar with the unique nature of Genova's one way traffic system, if not this may present a challenge. 2) On arrival at the hotel, the check in staff are always extremely pleasant and friendly, from observation English, French and German are used at the front desk. 3) On arrival as a present Best Western Diamond it DID NOT appear that my room was upgraded. 4) All Guest receive free WI-FI which is great 5) The bedrooms are small, even the doubles, not for Italian standards, but small for USA and UK standards. I was allocated rooms 621 and 620. 6) All area's including the bedrooms where always well kept, tidy and clean SEE PHOTOS 7) The Hotel does not provide an evening meal service on Sunday nights but does the rest of the week. 8) Breakfast is very Italian (nothing wrong in this), fresh coffee, sweet cakes and focaccia bread, selection of cereals there are no traditional USA or UK breakfast options excepting the scrambled egg and frankfurter type sausages. 9) Check out, was straight forward and hassle free. In summary the hotel scores 4/5 for a good Best Western, Room Tip: This is a better and cheaper hotel that the Best Western Metropoli which is just 50M round the corner

"Long overdue..."
GraceST, 23 Décembre 2016

A lot difficult to find, but the best location! We made reservations for our car and confirmed days before we got there. No issues with the car. Clean rooms. There was a special going on for breakfast at an additional $1pp. OMG. THE BEST breakfast that we have ever had at a hotel and that includes 5 star hotels in the USA. Awesome breakfast! EXTREMELY helpful and hospitable check-in staff. Grace was awesome. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to friends, family and you.

"Amzing location"
Francoise A, 21 Novembre 2016

We visited with a group of dentists attending a course in Genoa. The location is amazing near the center, 1 min walk from the piazza del Ferrari and the metro station. Breakfast is good. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are clean.

"Robbing at the hotel reception, and nobody cares !!!"
Delqna H, 06 Novembre 2016

I was robbed at the hotel reception. It happened during our accommodation. I left my bag on the chair behind me to pull out passports to fill in the blanks. When I finished and turned around, my purse was stolen ! We were alone at the reception along with two receptionists. In the lobby there are 3 cameras. The reaction of the receptionists was missing. Even asked me if I was sure that my bag really missing ?! Not call the police and refused us access to the cameras, because it was Friday afternoon and the hotel manager not working .They gave us a map and navigate us where the police station ist. Just to mention that we traveled with our two children who are 3 and 7 years old! Returning from the police department, no one asked did we need something and what happened. ?bsolutely no human reaction ! Frankly, based on the reaction of the receptionists and the complete disinterested all that leads to only one conclusion - they were involved in the theft. When leaving the hotel, for that we paid the price at 100%, we left all our contact and explicitly said that we expect call from the manager on Monday morning. To this day the hotel manager has not called us to apologize or ask us how we are. Our children are in great shock and spoke two weeks for what happened. We expected from supposedly global hotel company something different.Of course we filed a complaint with the European Commission's consumer Agency and contacted a lawyer. For us and our friends - never more Best Western!

"Good hotel"
Milica K, 04 Novembre 2016

This Hotel is on a good location near the city centar and has all we needed during our 2 nights stay. Breakfast is very good, internet is also good and staff in hotel is friendly. Genova is also nice city worth a visit especially with kids..we recommend this hotel to everyone.

"Good location"
Hannah S, 02 Novembre 2016

My husband and I stayed for one night after a cruise. The port is a short bus ride away, with the bus stop within a 1-2 minute walk. Likewise the Volabus (transport from Airport to various stations including Brignole) bus stop is in the same place. Walking distance to some central landmarks, and approx 15-20 minute walk to Brignole Station Very nice area of Genoa. Only complaint which is minor is the sweltering temperature of the reception area which is very uncomfortable while you wait to check in/out and due to it's location it can be noisy at night. The lift is very small and can only really get 2 people or 1 person and a suitcase inside. Other than that - brilliant.

"Great base for a stopover"
jaapclark, 30 Octobre 2016

Spent two nights here after a cruise, and not disappointed. Great location very well appointed and comfortable room, and one of the most all-encompassing breakfast buffets we have ever experienced. Nice looking on site redtaurant, but sadly lacking in veggie options, so no go for us. If you are into jazz, 50 metres up the side road is the Louisiana Jazz Club - well worth a visit :-)

"Overnight stay"
mkla07, 25 Octobre 2016

Nice hotel for an overnight stay. Close to city centre with shops, theatres and museums closeby with Genoa Aquarium walking distance too. Rooms are compact but beds comfortable. Shower entrance too small for a fat guy like me without a little pull and push. Shower comfortable excellent pressure and warm flow of water. Continental breakfast ok self serve do as much or little as you fancy.

"Great hotel, welcoming staff"
Metia B, 06 Octobre 2016

We booked in for one night to break up railway journeys. The hotel was clean and modern, with very welcoming staff. The room had a king size bed and a double bunk bed, excellent for our little children. The decor was fresh and interesting. The breakfast was also good.

"Genuine Genoa!!!"
Michael B, 02 Octobre 2016

if your looking for a good place to stay in Genoa this is the place. Its in a great location and we were were a short walk away from multiple tourist attractions, restaurants and shopping. Their buffet breakfast was varied and delicious. The room was spacious and comfortable. Definitely a good place to stay in Genoa!!!!

"BW City hotel is excellent"
Nicholas G, 01 Octobre 2016

This hotel is excellent, great breakfast range of food and very good internet in the room. My double room was spacious, the bed was comfy and the shower was large and had a great power shower. Overall experience was very homely.

"No air con"
georgiasl, 10 Septembre 2016

The location is great. The room was sparse but clean. My biggest issue is that they advertise Ac but we were there at the end of May. It was hot and they informed us that they do not turn on the Ac until June. We. Did not sleep well as there are not even ceiling fans to compensate for the lack of Ac.

"Great modern hotel!"
JS101, 04 Septembre 2016

Excellent location and on a quiet side street but within walking distance of most locations in the city centre. Metro station was less than 5 minutes away. Our room was clean and modern, comfy beds. There was an excellent choice of foods at breakfast. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

"Nice hotel"
Juliana62, 03 Août 2016

Stayed here for one night after a cruise. We weren't sure where to go but on arrival at the cruise terminal a very nice lady asked us if we required a taxi which we did. A taxi was called and she told us to look for Alpha 18 we walked out to the taxi area and 2 mins later Alpha 18 arrived. Taxi driver was very nice and took us to our hotel for under 15 euro. The hotel is right in the centre of Genoa and is quite small but the room was lovely and everything was spotless. The shower was a bit of issue if your size 12 then your fine but the door to the shower cubicle is quite neat. The hotel doesn't have a bar but as your in the city centre it's not really an issue. Staff were friendly and helpful all in all a nice hotel for the money with a great location

"Excellent Hotel in a Great Location"
Neill_OO, 28 Juillet 2016

This is a great hotel. The location is ideal - it's in the heart of Genoa, but just down a side street so that it is quiet. The selection and quality of food items at breakfast was excellent, and very inexpensive. I would definitely stay in this hotel if I were to return to Genoa.

"Very comfortable, great location and wonderful breakfast"
Nisbbo, 19 Juillet 2016

An excellent hotel for comfort and location. Good high standard as experienced in other Best Western hotels. Plus friendly helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent with healthy selection included as well as large spread of choice.

"Nice place in the heart of Genoa"
Igor B, 19 Juillet 2016

We had selected the Best Western City Hotel to spend the night before Mediterranean Cruise. The hotel has a great location in the city center with easy access to most of attractions. The room is big enough for the family of four. It was perfectly cleaned and prepared for our arrival. Unfortunately, the hotel has very limited parking space and we had to leave the vehicle in the neighboring public underground parking. The staff is very friendly and ready to help with all requirements. Nice place for exploring Genoa.

"Great city centre hotel"
Ron G, 17 Juillet 2016

Genoa is a fascinating city with plenty of interesting things to do and see, but traffic and driving are a nightmare! The Best Western City is in the heart of the city and ideally placed for visiting the sights, harbour and Aquarium. Very comfortable and surprisingly quiet at night for a city centre. The hotel is recently refurbished and of good quality. Bedrooms and bathrooms are small but well laid out and equipped. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a wide range of choices of fruit, cereals, cheeses etc and a smoothie making service! Very pleasant reception and staff. Very good value for money. We booked on the Best Western website which gave good deals. Only complaint is parking! Because of the one way system it is difficult to arrive directly at the hotel by car and parking is limited. The hotel charges €25 for overnight parking which is steep.

"Genoa Best Western is the BEST Best Western"
Thomas P, 16 Juillet 2016

If you visit Genoa, Italy, the best choice for a hotel in my estimation is the Best Western City Hotel. It is in close walking distance to many historic sites, including the home of Christopher Columbus. Restaurants and shops in the neighborhood are fun to visit and offer great value. When we were there a symphony concert was performed in the museum which is just a few blocks away - it was free and simply wonderful. But maybe the best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are efficient, totally helpful, and professional. One in particular - Christian by name, - bent over backwards to help with every detail of our visit, from parking to informing us of places to see and things to do. If you go, don't miss the breakfast, which is out of this world - and only costs Six Euro.

"Good location but could do better"
andrew h, 15 Juillet 2016

The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring the city but the little touches are missing It's quite a modern hotel and verging on the minimalist but for rooms in the 21st century to only have one plug socket in their largest room is crazy, charging phones and devices is difficult and should be easy. No toiletries in the room just the horrid dispensers on the wall and small towels. It is as always the attention to detail and not cutting corners which makes the difference One night is ok but not for a longer stay

"Noisy, but good service."
Helle S, 15 Juillet 2016

The hotel has a central location in a safe area of the city, within walking distance of major sights. An excellent coctail bar is located right next door. The staff is welcoming and service-minded. They gave us laundry service even though we requested it three hours late. The hotel is, however, very noisy, with doors slamming all over the place every morning. Some street noise (although not traffic) can also be heard. Besides the noise-issues it is an affordable and comfortable hotel in the centre of Genova.

"Good location, nice hotel"
ThomasStockholm, 12 Juillet 2016

Best Western Genova city is situated close to Piazza Matteotti and Via San Lorenzo. A 10-15 minute walk and you are at Porto Antico with the Aquarium. The old city with it's narrow streets and alleys are even closer. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff is very helpful. Good breakfast buffet and quiet rooms.

"Nothing special or particularly dreadful"
Bearclyff, 10 Juillet 2016

Not the easiest hotel to find when driving as their address does not appear on many SatNavs, so you are wise to locate a nearby main road to set course by. There are a few hotels signposted if you are eagle-eyed. The welcome was friendly enough, but despite requesting a secure and private parking space when booking online, some considerable time before, upon arrival after a very long drive, we were told all spaces we taken. We were then sent a couple of street away to a public multi storey which was not what we had hoped for. It only appeared to dawn on the reception staff when we checked out that they hadn't noticed our parking request! To be fair, they compensated for their mistake by not charging for breakfast (all of 4 Euros for each of us). Otherwise, bog standard.

"A Cool Spot in Heat of Genova"
jotBoston, 06 Juillet 2016

This hotel is in a nice spot for visiting and touring Genova. Cleanliness, good breakfast and air condtioning stand out. It is set off on a side street which keeps the noise level down and quaintness up. The staff always was ready to assist and most had a good knowledge of English. The air conditioning is a must after a day out in the heat and humidity! Lots of historic sites , restaurants, and a supermarket close by. My only complaint was the sketchy internet service. One minute great, next minute nothing... Also if you have mobility issues or a large person, make sure you get a bathroom /shower that is not so small you have to skootch yourself in. Bathrooms were very, very clean. We stayed there on 3 different occasions and the staff was accommodating holding on to our luggage when we left town for the weekend. Also be aware that each time you request a taxi the hotel charges you $ 2.00... Otherwise , I would say give it a try and it is an oasis of relaxation and coolness .

"Great little hotel with great service "
MartinARG, 26 Mai 2016

Great service, surprisingly good breakfast. Rooms are fully equipped and modern. Best price-quality ratio I can think of. The buffet breakfast is great, including local charcuterie, cheeses, muzzarella de bufala, expresso, eggs, fruits, pastries... Highly recommended.

"Good location, Great Hotel"
esteban95, 17 Mai 2016

Excelent location, in a quiet street, near the San Lorenzo chappel , Il Ducal, etc. Once you reach the San Lorenzo Chapel , about 5oo meters from the hotel, you are 200 meters from the Port ( Antico Port)., and the Acuarium. You can find around the chapel and the port dozens of shops, etc. You are about 300 meters from the street Via XX de Setembre , were you can find well known trademarks ( H & M , Zara, etc.) The hotel room is very comfortable, minibar, aircon, safe, etc. We had a beautiful dinner in the hotel ( make reservation , it has a few tables) which was declicious. (it was the tasting menu, that is that each course was composed of two or three differnt plates. Excellent . Not cheap indeed !!). The hotel had an offer , through internet, and the cost of the breakfast was One Euro ( yes 1 euro) per person. It included champagne, salmon , waffles, etc. Excelent !) Wifi : always fast. CHeck in and out was fast. we would definitely stay again in this excelent hotel !

"After the Long Drive from Calais, France to Genoa"
Mike M, 14 Mai 2016

We arrived at 22:00 after a long 21 hour non-stop drive from Calais, France. We were tired, hungry and needing sleep. We also needed a secure car park for our vehicle. We found this hotel almost on the sea front. The staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They asked the chef for some sandwiches for us at such a late hour. Our vehicle was put into an underground secured car pard monitored by video camera's. We had a top floor room with tea and sandwiches then a hot shower and bed. The room was well equipped, clean, modern and tidy. Bathroom was exceptional but this was after all Italian. Breakfast in the morning a "Full English" and I mean full. Delicious. Once again the staff were helpful and understood we were travelling to Sicily so allowed us to remain in the hotel with our luggage secured until the time of departure of the ferry. This is a very comfortable and modern Hotel. You will not be disappointed with your stay. Our thanks to all the staff there and the duty Manager who helped us on our journey last July.

"Great location"
WendyandPaul, 30 Avril 2016

We stayed at the Best Western for a long weekend and would recommend it. The location is fantastic, close to the old quarter but off of the main drag. Our flight from the UK had been moved forward by the airline which meant we arrived about 9.30 to the hotel. Obviously our room wasn't ready but we were able to leave our bags while we went out. The lady on reception was polite, helpful and informative. The room was clean, large and pleasantly decorated. The only thing was that it was fairly warm and we would have preferred that the air-conditioning be turned on. The hotel doesn't switch it on until June so I would imagine that the room could become rather uncomfortable. Breakfast was an extra €4 and is well worth it as there is a lot of choice and is buffet style.

"Modern and convenient hotel"
Susan27410, 25 Avril 2016

If you are looking for modern convenience and not necessarily old-time ambiance, this is a great hotel for you. It is convenient and well-situated near the old city, but on a quiet side street. The breakfast costs 4 euros extra, but is simply amazing in terms of what it offers. We did have to wait to sit down, but it was well worth it. The WIFI is quick and free. The hotel spotless, with very helpful nice staff. Loved our stay! Was a great value for us, I'm just not sure what the value is compared to other places in Genoa -- a nice city with low prices.

"Modern whilst nestled in the olden world of central Genoa"
Safari-queen, 20 Avril 2016

What a great hotel from start to finish. Multi- lingual receptionists with a humourous helpful manner. Tiny lift suitable for a person and a suitcase. Lovely fast internet, throughout. Modern comfortable room, great bathroom. Breakfast self service with a laid back menu! The hotel is situated just off the main square, within an easy walk of everything. Situated in a quiet side square with a great restaurant next to it...a good find, would certainly book there again.

"Handy hotel"
Richard J, 19 Avril 2016

Excellent position, quiet, nice staff. Internet a bit intermittent but free. Marvellous breakfast for 4 euros. Airport Bus Volabus stops and picks up in Piazza Ferrari. Good medium priced restaurants nearby. Multiple tourist sites nearby plus stop for Hop-On, Hop Off bus and Metro / Local buses in Ferrari. 15 Min walk to the harbour.

"Wonderful staff - personal touch"
Alison B, 15 Avril 2016

We arrived after a fairly challenging trip & found the hotel challenging to locate but the staff were super helpful & arranged a valet service even although there was no space in their own car parking facility.

"Family break April 2016"
Leroy P, 13 Avril 2016

Hotel easy to find and in a great location for central Genoa. Family room with bunk beds great considering we have two two teenage children. Good size room with plenty of space for all four of us. Wi-Fi excellent and TV choice very good. Hotel staff very polite, extremely helpful and speak very good English! Breakfast well worth four euros per person per day. Superb choice of food - thoroughly recommend it. Would definitely come back to Genoa again and would definitely come to this hotel again.

"Excellent location"
David B, 30 Mars 2016

Welcoming and friendly on arrival and helpful pointing out where to go etc. Clean spacious room. Excellent location- felt like a safe area. Supermarket just around the corner. Excellent breakfast - well worth 4 euros extra. We would stay here again. The only negative was that the room was quite warm and the air conditioning is only available in the summer months.

"First Stay At Best Western - Positive Review"
Mirto56, 24 Mars 2016

I recently stayed for two nights at Best Western City Hotel while in Genoa on business. I usually stay at Starwood Hotels, however, there are none in Genoa. I had a very positive stay at this hotel and I have nothing negative to report, except the small and very slow elevators. Fortunately, I had a GPS navigator that helped me find this hotel. Driving through heavy traffic on small streets in the city center was challenging. Upon my arrival, I was warmly welcomed by a very friendly and efficient reception staff. The check-in process was swift, and I was assigned to a suite located on the 8th floor. I utilized the hotel's garage and the staff took my car keys and parked the car for me. The hotel is situated in a very small plaza and maneuvering a car is a challenge. Parking cost 25 euros a night. My room was very spacious and it had a very large balcony that offered stunning views of the city. The room was fitted with several windows that provided access to the same view. There was a writing desk that had several electrical outlets to charge all of my electronics. The bed mattress was very comfortable and the bed was fitted with standard quality bed linens. There were both soft and hard pillows. A flat screen television offered an excellent selection of international programs. The bathroom had double washbasins, a deep soaking bathtub fitted with a large showerhead, a bidet, and toilet. There were all of the bathroom amenities (shower gel, shampoo, soap, lotions, etc.) that you would expect to find in a hotel of this class. Towels were plentiful and of good quality. There was no shower curtain and I challenged myself to keep most of the shower water in the bathtub. The breakfast buffet was wonderful; stocked with everything you could ever want for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helped fulfilling coffee and beverage orders. I enjoyed my stay at Best Western City Hotel and I look forward to returning here on future visits to Genoa. I recommend this hotel to the TripAdvisor community.

"Smallest lifts in the world!"
LolTM, 07 Mars 2016

Hotel City is in a great location just a minutes walk from Piazza de Ferrari. The room was spotlessly clean and given Air France lost my bag, I was pleased to see toothbrush and toothpaste was supplied! Staff immensely helpful in every way and allowed me to use a UK/Euro plug adapter until my own baggage arrived after its rather long voyage. Breakfast was the usual euro fare but great quality and lots of selection. The restaurant was also very good although the menu was completely in Italian therefore I just stuck by what looked like 'fried fish' -- which to be fair, was great. Every staff member I spoke to were happy to communicate in english after my faltering and pretty useless attempts at Italian. Mind you, I couldn't get the english speaker channels working on my TV however my TV had an external HDMI input so I could plug my laptop in and watch my own stuff. I should also mention regarding the TV that as soon as you put your keycard into the slot inside the room to turn on the power, the TV automatically comes on and is tuned by default to the hotel channel -- therefore you have a matter of seconds from entering your room to finding the remote to turn it off else you are subjected to Best Westerns 'theme tune' which seriously is the most annoying thing in the world - sort of like a mash-up of all the horrendous ear-worm creating euro-pop you have ever heard. The best way to describe it is the worst of Eurovision every time you enter your room; so remember where the remote is and find it the instant you put that keycard into the slot in the wall -- you have been warned :) All in all, a great stay and I would head back there instantly next time I am in Genoa.

"Arrogant staff"
Peter P, 04 Mars 2016

Had an unfortunate time here. Room dirty and staff not interested, wanted to move, told no room available but noticed our floor was basically empty! Not recommended- also not easily accessible to cruise terminal.

"fantastic location, great service, great breakfast, good value for money"
MGrazia13_13, 01 Mars 2016

our room was clean and well equipped. location is amazing, staff was excellent and we felt very well looked after. very easy to reach all the nice part of the city centre and to the public transport. will go back again!

"One night trip"
FredCerutti, 24 Février 2016

Excellent hotel & room, very professional service with a good surprise: choose travelling or woman package. Central location, easily reached from both railway stations. Very close to Palazzo Ducale, shopping area and town central streets. Friendly staff.

"Excellent central hotel"
fustay, 05 Février 2016

I stayed at the hotel for 5 days. It 's a very central hotel and quite near the shopping places like Via XX Settembre, Via Garibaldi where the palacesses located and also 5 min. to the seaside. There are restaurants, cafes nearby so excellent choice to stay either business or holiday trips. They cleaned the room every day. The breakfast was absolutely perfect have lots of food and drinks. The staff were really kind and very helpful. I enjoyed my stay at Best Western City..

"Excellent Hotel, Fantastic service"
JaneItalia, 25 Janvier 2016

Only one night in this lovely, clean very central hotel but it was wonderful. Comfortable, spacious room and extremely helpful and service minded staff. Breakfast was lavish especially compared to the regular offerings from hotels in Italy. I would highly recommend this hotel for both business and tourism. Everything about it is top notch, especially the staff!!

"Very central"
simonslh, 19 Janvier 2016

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Could walk to all parts of the city. The staff were lovely. The rooms were clean and spacious. The lifts were old and small but all part of the adventure. Would definately visit this hotel when in Genoa again.

"Clean, modern hotel with parking"
animateme, 30 Décembre 2015

We arrived late at night just to spend the night as a stopover on our journey from Florence to Nice so we did not get to experience much of the hotel or the city. I cannot say much about the location for visiting the city as we did not have time to visit. Our late check-in went well, we were well received and we were given a parking space in their very small and tight garage. They wanted to valet-park our car but I asked if I could park myself and they agreed. The hotel is modern and very clean. Breakfast was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Smart hotel between the old and 'new' city"
JCQ19, 10 Décembre 2015

We had a great stay here. This location was ideal for seeing the best of Genoa, which is a very interesting city. Good modern room, immaculate and a good size. Great to have one of the the recommended most authentic restaurant in Genoa as part of it.

"Central Hotel / Good Breakfast"
Arnaud-Melissa, 29 Novembre 2015

Great location and centrally located. I don't think suitable for people with cars (parking is limited in Genoa) Good service. Nice comfortable rooms. Missed having an extra blanket (probably could have rang down for one.) Good breakfast with plenty of variety.

"Great Stay"
123Trish16, 19 Novembre 2015

Ten of us stayed there for three nights prior to a Transatlantic cruise. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The breakfast was exceptional. All of the employees that we dealt with were great!

"Good value and great location"
Adrian H, 11 Novembre 2015

We were a little annoyed to find that "limited parking" on the website did explain this was a euro 25.00 per day additional charge, the parking was a major part of our decision and other opportunities were available. Anyway, that being said this is a great location, great staff and a good breakfast included in the price. Room was very hot and obviously AC turned off at this time of year, room was actually very uncomfortable as we were forced to have the window open and the noise from the restaurant next door went into the small hours of the morning. WiFi, just workable but slow and nit reliable. Would we stay here again, definitely not.

"Happy with our choice: nice hotel, great location"
Justine28, 22 Octobre 2015

Stayed here just for one night back in late September when on our way home from Cinque Terre. We had a tiny room no. 623; turned out to be very simple room, but quite comfortable and with access to a big shared terrace with wonderful views of Genoa. The hotel was very conveniently located on a tiny quiet plaza just off Via Roma and very close to famous Piazza de Ferrari and Teatro Carlo Felice; it was easy to walk to all the major sights thanks to that. We only took taxis to and from the Brignole Train Station and that's only because of heavy backpacks we were travelling with. Funny enough, due to the one-way traffic in certain areas, we paid approx. 12 Euro for a taxi to the hotel, but on the way back to the station it was an easier and quicker route and it was only 8 Euro. Back to the hotel, the staff were very pleasant to deal with, check-in and out were a breeze, continental breakfast which was included was fresh, plentiful and tasty and they were happy to store our backpacks for the day while we were enjoying Genoa after our check out. Word of advice: they seem to have what must be the tiniest lift ever; we barely managed to squeeze in ourselves with our backpacks, it was quite funny actually. If travelling with a lot of luggage, you might have to have two goes at it. I would most definitely like to stay here again when back in beautiful Genoa! This would be due to great location and the stunning views from the 6th floor terrace. Do ask for one of these rooms if possible, you won't regret it!

"Great location; great breakfast, quiet rooms"
TillyRambler, 17 Octobre 2015

We stayed here for two nights and had great sleeps both nights. Many electrical outlets that take European and US plugs. Good, reliable internet. Nice pillows. The showers could be a bit tight if you are very heavy, so you may wish to request a handicapped accessible shower. The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast we have ever experienced. Many breads, many different meats and cheeses, eggs, sausage, fresh smoothies and pretty much anything you could want. If you don't have a breakfast package, you can get the breakfast for 4 Euros - a steal! There is espresso machine that is available 24/7. The large Coop grocery is a block away and the ATM is a couple of doors down. A safe location. Safes are in the room also.

"Great Location & Very Helpful Staff!"
Janelle-Ryan T, 13 Octobre 2015

We stayed at the Best Western City Hotel for two nights and we had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is right in the middle of the city center and is within easy walking distance to all the attractions of the city. We had a car and they offer parking for a price. The breakfast wasn't included but it was only like 4 euros a day. The front desk was very helpful and particularly a lady that worked the front desk. I am sorry but I forget her name. Overall we would recommend a stay at the Best Western City Hotel.

"Nice modern hotel in a good location"
martinnyc1, 13 Octobre 2015

I can only say good things about this hotel. It is modern, clean and well located. Grace at the front desk was always smiling and helpful. The room was large and had a nice view of the city. The breakfast, EUR 4 extra, was excellent. It is near the historic center of the city as well as a metro stop.

"Good Location"
Bill R, 10 Octobre 2015

This hotel is close to many of the old town attractions. The room was fine and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with the most choice of any of the hotels we stayed at. The staff gladly and promptly helped me with a small shipment that I had to make. The attached restaurant was only fair.

"Best Western City Hotel Genoa"
John C, 24 Septembre 2015

Standing in its own court yard tributery off the main road allows additional quietness. Rooms nice size with good trim, helpfull staff. Access is the only slight concern theres a high level, very large Neon sign to draw attension from the main road and you need to track back slightly to access its street, so a little hunting out required. We viseted using motorcycles and they have a garage for security which is great, Car wise access may be a lot more tricky. There is a Bar adjacent with tables in the plaza to view a fountain and the hotel, well worth a visit

"Excellent place for business.scientific stay with private accents"
Leszek C, 22 Septembre 2015

The hotel is located in an excellent place - middle of the city, just between the historical part and the business, scientific part. We have been there at a conference and we were in the radius of walking distance to every important location. The hotel was perfectly organized, perfectly clean, very comfortable. The breakfasts were very good, with generous choice. Besides the free WiFi (reliable and fast) there was a computer available at any time, and what was important for me - there was a printer and a scanner ready for use 24 h. The staff was very friendly and professional. No any problem, beginning from the first contact up to the financial matters and departure. They also gave good practical advices concerning the touristic and also logistic part of the stay. The relation of value to price is also very profitable. One can not expect the streets of a large town to be quite at night, but the windows were hermetic and the air conditioning worked very good. If I come to Genova in the futre, I will stay in Best Western for sure.

"Good value"
AlicefromBrisbane, 11 Septembre 2015

We stayed here for one night, and the hotel is in a great location - right in the middle of town. Definitely use the valet parking service if you're driving, as there is no parking nearby and you absolutely don't want to wind down those tiny Italian streets! The breakfast was brilliant, with plenty of choice. Rooms were nice, a little old fashioned, but had all the essentials. Nice large, comfy bed. The restaurant next door is also great!

"Relaxed, Friendly Staff, Very good location"
Michael W, 10 Septembre 2015

This hotel is in the middle of Genoa so its perfect location for exploring the old town but do not expect wonderful views. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the air conditioning did not sound like an aircraft about to take off. It was very quiet (New York take notice!). Great breakfast, really friendly helpful staff. A very relaxing stay. We are going back next year.

"Perfect location"
Linda P, 06 Septembre 2015

super staff, helped us with restaurant recommendations. Breakfast staff excellent, too. Great breakfast, so good to find a hotel that does not overcharge for breakfast. Lovely room with large terrace and view over the city. Perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
