Best Western Plus Hotel West Edmonton, Edmonton

We arrived at 9pm so we didn't avail ourselves of the pool but it was open until midnight. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient, the room was spotless and pleasingly furnished, lots of lighting, comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast was 7am-10am and had a good selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Of note, this location had four coffee syrups, two of which were sugar free. As a frequent traveller and diabetic, this was the first time I've come across sugar-free syrup that wasn't from a chain coffee shop. The hotel is a short drive from shopping, dining, and West Edmonton Mall.

Staff went obove and beyond to make us feel at home. More then enough breakfast options. Everyday was something different. Waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage., oatmeal, fruit, yougurt, bagels. The list goes on. Room and hotel was spotless. Won't stay in any other hotel next time we travel thru. We'll done team. You guys nailed it!!!!

Clean, spacious and amazing! Staff was super friendly and breakfast was amazing. Would stay again. The rooms were spacious and so inviting. Bed were comfortable. The meeting room was perfect size for our team!

From the moment you walk in the door the decor and colour choices are fantastic. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing with different hot options each day. Pool area was clean and very inviting. The rooms were so clean and spacious with the best pillows I have ever slept with! This will for sure be my place to stay when in Edmonton!

Had a great stay at this hotel. My room was comfortable, exceeded my expectations and really clean. Loved the floors and furniture. Overall the whole hotel is very clean, breakfast was fantastic! Close to shopping and great restaurants The staff were friendly and helpful, the manager was delightful and caring. I defiantly will be staying here again next time I am in Edmonton!!

There were some housekeeping/cleanliness/maintenance issues, but the linens were clean and odor free, the breakfast was wonderful as usual. It was a last minute booking and was a very fair price, convenient west end location, have stayed here a few times now and will return when looking for west end and the pricing is right.

Not only were the beds here the best I've ever slept on, the breakfast offers pretty much anything one could desire for a good breakfast to start their day. The staff was the friendliest I've ever met and went above and beyond to deliver us the best experience possible. I will definately return again in the future

This was my first time staying at Best Western Plus West Edmonton and it was lovely. Great location, easy to access room for my dog and I, and the room was so spacious and fresh-feeling. I would definitely stay at this location again.

Great rate but being allergic to dogs and cats makes the pet promotion a problem. I love the location close to the amenities and everything we wanted to see and do in Edmonton. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

This hotel was nice and close to the West Edmonton mall. Elevator was a little slow, so we usually took the stairs. The staff was friendly and will be back next year. The breakfast selection was good, but the waffle bar location was poor. Got very crowded in that area.

Good location, clean rooms and great breakfast . Pool . Accessible to city and downtown. Internet needs to be upgraded was a bit slow and pillows were hard. Overall rating was good. Kids friendly and pets are allowed

This hotel was wonderful for me and my 2 pups. They even give out doggie welcome bags with toys, food, and treats. Very appreciated. I also appreciated that although it took my dogs a few minutes to settle down after I left the room, the hotel didn't immediately ask me to stay with them. I sat in the lobby for a few minutes listening to my 7m old pup howl for a few minutes before I left for an appointment to see how bad it was going to be, lol. They did settle down and were quiet, but often hotels are stricter with dogs than they are with children running up and down the halls screaming.

On our way home to BC, we stayed overnight at a hotel located close to the West Edmonton Mall. We had a suite with two rooms and we enjoyed the accommodations. The bed was comfortable. Since we had to leave early, we did not take advantage of the complementary breakfast. But as we were leaving, the front desk person went out of her way to make coffee for us. Great service.

Best Western West Edmonton has always been my choice whenever I visit WEM. The facility is always well maintained. The team is always approachable and helpful. Food choices are great! Accessibility to significant places such as restaurants and malls is the best part.

The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, the room was great…newly renovated, clean and welcoming! Breakfast was nice, waffles with berries and cream is always a treat! Definitely recommend if you're in need of a place to stay on the west end. Appreciated the ev charger in the parking lot too! Not always easy to find that.

Great staff at the front desk and breakfast area. Clean and renovated rooms. Breakfast was great with berries and whipped cream for waffles. Pool was very cold and towels were not there. Would be good to have an employee monitor this area for cleanliness. Gym was amazing!

Clean newly remodeled hotel with pool and spa. Rooms very modern. GM not accommodating and does to recognize BW highest level customers. Breakfast was good except staff did not stop a dog in dining area which peed all over the floor (not a service dog) and a violation of Health regulations.

I travelled with my children and dogs. The room and hotel was so clean and updated. Staff were friendly and super helpful at check in and check out. We enjoyed breakfast in the morning and there was a large selection of foods to choose from.

Witnessed what I'm assuming was a manager yelling at a member of staff during my breakfast last week during the holiday. I wasn't originally going to write this review but seeing who I'm assuming was the lady I saw being berated leaving a review stating she was fired left a terrible taste in my mouth. I'm baffled to see how the staff here is treated. If that is what I'm seeing as a guest at the hotel what is happening behind the scenes?! It seemed incredibly humiliating, no worker deserves to be treated like that. The stay was lacklustre, but seeing how sadistic the manager was made me and my partner decide to never stay at a Best Western again.

I Worked for the Best western plus in Edmonton. It was a horrible place to work a horrible experience. I was treated like I was not capable of doing my job by the manager Zeila and the housekeeper manager Irena. I worked 5 days a week and was not givin any breaks . When I asked questions I was ignored. I was only givin 2 days training. I worked hard in the Breakfast area and had great reviews. I would never recommended this place Management belittles and dehumanized their staff. The staff works hard to make everyone happy. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT.

Terrible customer service for checkin in , breakfast was gross, pool was cold, room was pure joke(imagine not having a sink inside the bathroom/toilet) and you have to go outside as they placed in the middle of the room.They are allowing pets in the hotel, so all night all i could hear is barking.Using carpets in their hallways..filthy stinky with dog's fur everywhere.For 3 days i didn't see a single person cleaning in the hallways with vaccum or anything.Pathetic experience

This hotel was amazing!! The rooms, the breakfast, the cleanliness, the pool, the fitness area were all new and well designed. The staff was awesome. We actually thought the hotel was newly built however was told it was redone from top to bottom. The price was fantastic. Location is close to amenities and West Edmonton Mall. Would absolutely stay here again!!

My family loved the clean room and microwave and fridge in the room. Their breakfast in the morning had a lot of choices! Hot, cold, yogurt & waffle machines. The pool was a bit too cold for our liking but the hot tub made up for that! We were on the main floor close to the entrance and bathrooms so it was a bit noisy at times.

Nice Location away from traffic yet close to main road to access attractions and shopping area (West Edmonton Mall) . The breakfast selection was great- hot choices- nice to finally have after the past few years of bagged breakfast. Clean rooms- nice to see laminate flooring instead of carpets. Cant really complain about much- it was a great stay.

We are very grateful to the Best Western Plus West Ed hotel for being so kind and helpful. We stayed at the hotel for a soccer tournament and the were very responsive to our arising needs. The large pool and hot tub were a gift for our players who needed to tend to aching muscles and relax after playing hard all day. Thank you!

Fast, friendly service from everyone. The included breakfast was excellent, and rooms were clean. I made use of the available EV charger, it was funtional and available. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again!

The staff at this property truly care about their guests. The breakfast was amazing, particularly the yogurt bar. The hot tub was warm and relaxing. Nearby there are fast food restaurants and convenience stores in walking distance.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at BW. Rooms were clean and comfy. Breakfast was tasty and offered a good variety. Fitness center is limited in machines, but provides sufficient equipment to get in a decent workout. Hotel was very busy during out stay; the staff did an excellent job .

We landed at this hotel after spending by a night at the Thriftlodge (aka Bates Motel- see my review). Upon arrival at around 9 AM, I asked if Juvi at the front could take our bags and if we could have breakfast- even if I have to pay. I explained the situation at our last hotel and hoped for the best. Juvi & the lady with the red scarf (sorry, couldn't remember your name) went above and beyond to help us. Not only did we get our breakfast, but it was amazing. Lots of variety, fresh, tasty, perfect. Also, they took our bags. No need for a bag tag because they took care of it all, and even grabbed them for us when we were ready to check in, without having to take our name (Juvi remembered us!!). Our stay was great. The hotel is beautiful, spacious, everything works, they even had a spare comb and band-aids for us at the front when we needed some. At breakfast, there were two lovely ladies, and they made our experience so amazing. Laurie/Lori (spelling?) even noticed how much my son loved one of the pasties and she gave him a goodie bag of them to take with him. We were absolutely delighted throughout our stay. I will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend for anyone. P.s. I'm a bodybuilder and the gym was so well equipped that I didn't need to head to another gym. Bonus!!

Pool is beyond freezing. Not enjoyable. Many front desk staff rude. Paint peeling in bathroom, mold on ceiling....need I say more? Accused of scamming hotel by wanting to switch rooms, as though we would stay in the terrible room we complained about.

Hotel booking was not my choice, but I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious, clean rooms with colorful artwork. The rooms have their own vibe, depending on the artwork. Also a great choice for proximity to West Ed mall.

The rooms are big and clean, all of the staff was very helpful. We had 4 guests and were only given 2 towels but a quick call to the front desk and that was rectified. The complimentary Breakfast was above our expectations and really added to the value.

We were never disappointed at any hotel like this time. Everything was disappointing. Pool area was very cold. Pool water was freezing. Room temperature was unstable. Sink water was freezing in the room. Food for breakfast was not good at all. Room service was so bad, only rearranged the bed and didnt even bother sweeping the floor. Never going back there.

There are plenty of hotel group operating on the lane; choose the other options even if you are BW prestige member avoid this place. Worst customer experience especially, something really not expected from BW

Billing accuracy. They overcharged me because they didn't pay attention to the confirmation. Then told me I was wrong but have emails..... Crowded eating area. Pool was freezing and they tried making up for it with heating the place up which just made it uncomfortable being in the area. Doors are paper thin and you hear everything in your hallway.

The hotel was clean The staff were helpful and knowledgeable I found not enough staff on to help with busy peak hours My room did get missed when I had my make up my room sign on the door Turned on my heater to drown the noise of other guests making noise at night

The evening Front staff was not very friendly. Our specific room we previously reserved was not available, with no explanation or apology on why we got a different room. The morning check out staff was apologetic .

My wife and I stayed for the weekend. We booked a suit. Our room on the 4th floor pleased us. First and foremost. No carpet! Good furniture and clean. Huge king-sized bed was very comfortable. The bathroom also very nice, replete with a large walk-in shower. The living area, behind the bedroom and window, was quite dark and gloomy. Nice fridge and burner, cupboards bereft of anything at all, to cook, or eat with. Just one elevator, and a slow one at that. The pool area, also top notch, clean, no mold. However, the pool being recently worked on, now contained very cold water, that stayed cold during our stay. Has a real deep end at around 5 feet. Some families disappointed that no prior warning was given, their kids now shivering in the glacial pool. The hot tub, however, lived up to it's name. The, not free, but included breakfast was, I'd say, a notch above the usual fare. spotlessly clean and managed and, topped up by a very nice, dedicated hotel employee. Sausage, eggs, spuds, ..... normal hotel fare. Good waffle maker, real cream and all the good breakfast accoutrement's. Excellent coffee too. Keurig in the room, with 4 pods. As per usual weekend activities, quite a few kids, at least one hockey team, everyone on their best behavior, never heard a peep in our room. No bar or restaurant, however the adjacent hotel, a few icy steps away, had both, and not too bad either. The WEM is but a $8.00 ride away. As said, we much liked our, I think, recently renovated room, ESPECIALY! no carpet. Every employee was courteous, polite and knowledgeable. Always a good thing. Yes! we would stay again. Thanks BW.

hot soup and freash water when you check in. The front desk staff have ungraded the locks and elevator key card access. I find less traffic noise on elevator. The breakfast menua and after work soup changes everyday

Very clean and modern. Great lobby. Exercise facility is exceptional for a hotel. Breakfast was great. My daughter still raves about the hotel stay, likely because we had quality time together but that was facilitated by the hotel!

Well parking lot was stuffed no where to plug in and at - 33 to -40 ya need it. Rooms were clean but so noisy we ended up leaving. When I told the night lady she shrugged at me and said well we have your card on file. Never said sorry or offered to ask them to keep it down so we could stay or another room was pissed. She has it looked like long dark hair

We were surprised by a room upgrade so we stayed in a king suite and it was perfect in every way! Enjoyed our stay so much loved our room and there was lots of movie channels which you don't usually get at other hotels.

Comfortable beds with basic amenities and caring staff. Any issues were with other guests not maintaining proper cover protocols. Not sure why people feel invincible... Anyway, the hotel is quiet and you get a good nights sleep.

The staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent, I enjoyed making my own waffle and the pool and hot tub were a great way to end the day, the parking lot was spacious and the hotel was located close to shopping and restaurants. Thank you to the young Man at the front who helped us figure out the TV. The only thing I would change would be the art work in the rooms, not a fan of abstract art. Over all I give the hotel a 9 out of 10 and plan to stay again in the New Year with my sisters, we had so much fun.

Newly remodeled Hotel with excellent Hot Breakfast. Rooms are updated and clean. Only concern is that there is only 1 elevator and it is slow. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything about this hotel passed with flying colours- friendly, accommodating staff, great breakfast, comfy beds, clean and quiet. We liked that there was no carpet in the room. Location was close to everything we needed.

The rooms have non carpet floor, so nice and clean, great idea. The rooms are very bright if you choose to have the many lights on. The decor is so modern and refreshing. The lobby and breakfast area has been remodelled wonderfully. Great stay.

AGAIN Best Western's central booking did NOT relay our need for a handicapped room and gave the hotel the wrong contact info. The hotel staff did find us a room that we could have a wheelchair but the beds were too high for a handicapped person. The Heartland Hotel in Lamont, AB has a much better designed bathroom for the handicapped.

I work at various place. I do a lot in Edmonton. And the people at this hotel are amazing. Especially the front desk staff. Amazing. The lady that works graveyard shift always above and beyond and last few trips the guy around 4-7 pm when I check in just amazing. Always says hello mr erskine which makes me feel great. I'm usually not down in morning as I work graveyard shifts too but on days I check out the morning lady very good too.

Visiting my kids and grandbaby and found this hotel very nice to stay in! Enjoyed the breakfasts and it was close to anywhere we went. My kids always picked my boyfriend and I up and they never had a problem finding it. Also a bonus was the laundry facilities which price was reasonable!

Very nice hotel, although the pool could be updated. But still very nice, with friendly staff and so close to the West Edmonton Mall. If you're like us and big city driving makes you nervous then this is the place to stay.

Everything was fine, except the hot tub, which was unusable due to the gasses it was giving off. The pool/hot tub and breakfast are very important to us, and we could not use the hot tub, and there was no prior notice of this or compensation.

Hotel has been renovated in the last year. Clean and updated...Breakfast was good. Location is fantastic. Close to the West Edmonton Mall and family restaurants. All staff were friendly and helpful. and you just can't beat the value.

The hotel was good but was a considerable distance from the airport with no shuttle service. There was a complimentary breakfast served every morning and the rooms were spacious for one person. The pool was cold and so was the jacuzzi but that might have been due to a maintainance issue. The hotel is dog friendly and families are welcome to stay as well with their little screaming brats who ran up and oown the hallways early in the morning or late at night.

Front desk and check-in were great. Rooms are spacious. Beds are comfortable. Cleaning can be questionable as found disgusting brown smudge on bathroom door handle and hair clinging to bathroom door near hook. The rooms themselves, not so great. Because there is no carpet, you can hear every footstep from the room above. Even the rolling of the desk chair can be heard. And, if an item is dropped on the floor above, you can hear that, too. Having a room next to breakfast room is not appealing because every drawer and fridge closing can be heard through the wall. Paper thin walls, doors, and floors means not a lot of sleep. Front Office Manager contacted me once and indicated would respond immediately. Haven't heard back in 3 weeks.

This hotel is one of my favorites. We could not find a place big enough to fit 6 without getting an extra room. Also it was pet friendly which we needed. Front desk service was awesome and the woman working the night shift there was the best ever. Very Helpful, fast and kind.

I would recommend this hotel . The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and they were very spacious. My only complaint is about the "bagged" breakfast but that is my major complaint about anywhere I stay. I have had the breakfasts at Best Western in the past and they are very good so hopefully they will come back soon.

Overall this is a nice hotel to stay although the bathrooms are small and the pool needs updating. They included breakfast it's not very good however once a Buffet opens again it should hopefully get better.

the motel have a plesant and friendly staff. The rooms and overall facility are kept nice and clean. My wife loves the art work and decore in the rooms as well as in the halls and entry ways. If we were not very happy we would not be back but have stayed here evey time we are in Edmonton.

Great check in experience, good sized rooms, but so so choice of art in the rooms. I really appreciate that the floors were not carpet, and were kept clean. Overall a very good experience and great value for the money.

Easy check in,friendly staff, great location.very quiet.staff were very professional. Loved the room and would come here again and again. Thanks for your hospitality. Lots of great places to eat a great meal.

We stayed in a pet friendly room during our visit. The hotel was definitely the cleanest pet friendly hotel we ever stayed in. It was an added bonus not having carpet in the room. The beds were very comfortable and the room was updated and modern. It can be stressful staying overnight with pets but this hotel made our experience very relaxed. The front desk staff and housekeeping were very friendly. We are 100% going to be back on our next visit to Edmonton. Great location and staff!!!

This was a comfortable place to stay. I liked that the room I had did not have carpeting. It was clean and quiet. I would stay here here again. I was only here for one night. The modified breakfast was perfect to pick up and go. It tasted good and we picked all of the items we wanted on check in. It was a good compromise due to Covid 19. We would stay here again. I hope the pool is open next time.

We were so impressed by this hotel! The hotel appeared new and was very clean. Staff were kind, professional, and friendly. Incredible value, good location, included breakfast and even offered soup in the late afternoon, looking forward to our next stay! The only issue at all was that the internet connection in our room was slow, but will definitely be staying here again.

Don't even bother staying here. The front desk girl Victoria is beyond rude. Would not accept my credit card reservation, would not allow me to speak with a manager or supervisor.. & then was going to charge my card for 2 nights stay without allowing my daughter to stay. Way better hotels to stay at then thus one! Where at least you will be treated with respect.

We appreciate you sharing your thoughts here. However, I do want to use this opportunity to clarify a few things. You said in your review that we wouldn't accept your credit card reservation, after investigating this further Visa debit cards are not a valid form of credit card - online and virtually they are a credit card, however physically it is a debit card. The look and feel of the hotel & room completely satisfied me. We booked the pool and it was booked so it was just us in the pool. Breakfast was hug me even though it was a bagged breakfast. The fitness centre had a lot of options. Close to west ed. This is my go to hotel when I travel to Edmonton from now on

Friendly staff and really nice and renovated rooms. Lobby is very open to allow adequate social distancing. The breakfast is great. Your able to pick exactly what you need for breakfast and have it ready for the morning

We enjoy the room with separate living room with pull out couch. My son enjoys having his own been and tv. Nice pool with hot tub. Due to covid they have an express breakfast which included breakfast sandwich, fruit, yogurt and juice.

During covid-19 I would expect attention to cleanliness. The door hanger was covered in stick smelly stuff, hot tub and pool was disgusting. Exit door handles were filthy so imagine what I couldn't see.

I've only stayed in their suite rooms, which have been nice. No carpet and a large size fridge. Lighting can be a bit dim in the kitchen and you have to run the hot water for a few minutes before you need it, but other than that it's overall good. The front desk staff have been friendly and helpful. Breakfast during covid still has a number of options to choose from (yogurt, fruit, breakfast sandwich, granola bar, juice). Fitness room is fairly big with lots of options, however can be warm.

All the best parts; Hot tubes brand new and is open, Pool is massive, Rooms are recently renovated, Everything is clean, To go breakfast is generous, Hotel gym is 24/h and has an amazing selection of equipment, and Evening/ Night staff is amazing. Also, there is a mini freezer and canteen at the front stocked with ice cream bars and the best drinks. It was a challenge to only choose a couple of things.

Stay at Best western The stay at hotel as a single parent of 3 children was like a home away from home with no concerns of house cleaning. The bed was very comfortable and clean. All the pillows made it much more appealing and looked forward to getting to bed.

Even with Covid restrictions everything was great. The breakfast was way more than we were expecting and the staff was friendly. There was no issues with check in or check out. We did not use the fitness center or pool but they did look nice.

Great Place to stay for any reason, very contemporary furnishings and decor, as well as a fantastic amount of renovations that make it feel like an upscale Hotel, for a fraction of what you would expect.

Stayed in one of the recently renovated rooms. Very nice, large and modern. Sleek design. Construction is on going so keep that in mind for the days. Good cheap price to stay there now if you don't mind the work happening around the hotel.

Horrible customer service at make shift front desk; attitude from hotel staff; hotel was renovating with drywall dust everywhere; rooms were so filthy I had to buy my own cleaning products to clean the room, including CLR to unclog the shower head to make the shower usable; my son and I wanted to be able to levitate over the carpet; never ever ever again will I stay at this horrible hotel; scared to eat at breakfast nook due to lack of cleanliness of hotel

Hotel was under construction when I arrived ( it didn't state that when booking) but they gave me a discount for my 1 night stay which was a pleasant surprise. Didn't have any issues with noise and found the room to be clean. The front desk clerk repeatedly apologized for the hotel being under construction. I didn't get breakfast as I left before it was being set up. I would stay again.

It was amazing service! Thank you we will be back! Welcoming front desk, clean rooms, very kind and friendly breakfast attendant, and respectful housekeeping. Close to West Edmonton Mall and we were able to bill the room for our Water World tickets

The place was under construction and I can live with that, no problem. Check in was slow and pain full but not to concerned as they were using a make shift check in desk in the hallway due to construction. What I cant accept was the filthy room, BUGS on the couch in the room and filthy carpet. Not cool !!
