Best Western Plus New England Inn & Suites

This hotel is very centrally located. The staff is very helpful professional and friendly. I great place to stay. The lobby and the rooms have been recently updated with new furniture. It is a nice fresh appearance.

This facility exceeded expectations in almost every way. The staff was amazing. Probably good training; I hope they are well paid so they stay around to make others have as enjoyable of an experience.

Very nice hotel and room with full breakfast. Well worth the nightly room rate and conveniently located near the attractions we were visiting. would certainly return again when in the area and recommend to family and friends.

So, there were good things. The breakfast was standard: omelets, sausage (and apparently later there was bacon), yogurt, sweet breads/danish/muffins, toast/bagels, juice coffee, cereal. The room itself was decently sized, however, corners were dirty. The room smelled like marijuana. We did get used to the smell fairly quickly, but the curtains, walls, etc all smelled. The only solution the person at the front desk offered was something to cover up the smell. :-( There was some sort of sports event in the area, so I do believe all of the room may have been full. The noise level was fine. I really didn't notice sounds from the hallway or other rooms. Another thing was the air conditioning didn't work quite right. We turned the fan on and AC down to 60^ and then walked out the door for dinner. When we returned, the fan was definitely off. The front desk person did come turn the unit off and on again. Even then I think it only sort-of worked. I believe the fan turned off/on all night. The AC did cool the room down.

We were on our way to a family reunion and broke up the trip by staying at the Best Western in Berlin. Everyone who worked there was really nice and helpful, the room was clean and comfy, and the breakfast was excellent.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. Rooms were clean. My wife liked the pool. Breakfast was typical for hotel chain and coiuld have had a better selection. Coffe was brewed in a commercial type Keurig machine and was not that good. Overall nice friendly and clean hotel

Good hotel for a great price. Everything was very clean and staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast was very good compared to other hotel chains. Would definitely recommend and stay again when in the area.

Overall stay was excellent. Only complain was the smell of the fitness room. The staff and the cleanliness of the rooms was excellent. Also was the pool area. We were there for 3 weeks and really didnt find anything except the fitness room to complain about. Would stay again

This hotel is a great place to stay, the property is clean and very comfortable, a great breakfast in the morning and conveniently located. The staff takes the time to make sure you are comfortable and do everything they can to make your stay great

Clean and pleasant. Generally well-kept, but a little dust. Some cobwebs over stairwell windows. Odd breakfast. They seem to keep it tightly supplied; woman in front of me took all but one of the egg option—a surprisingly good western “omelette.” Went down later to see if they had been restocked and found the menu largely changed to scrambled eggs. Other guests a bit Del-absorbed, but that seems more and more the norm.

Love this hotel, rooms are clean, breakfast is good. Service is great. Pool is open from 6am-11pm. I stay here when I want a local getaway and relax in the pool. Front desk is always friendly and helpful.

Well I guess it was better than sleeping in the car. They added $50 to the “guaranteed rate.” Room AC was set to (and achieved) 61 degrees but at least when it's cold that kinda helps the mold not smell so bad. No extra blankets. You can hear the springs in the bed squeak. Wet/dirty towel on the floor. The breakfast was like an invitation to noravirus. In the future I think I'll just keep driving.

This Best Western Plus was all we've come to expect. We got a warm welcome from the front desk with an easy check in. Our room was clean and quiet. The wi- fi worked well. The bathroom was well equipped and good water pressure in the shower

Never again. Room smelled like gym socks or a wet dog so we walked right out to ask for a new room but the attendant said we got the last room. It was already midnight with very few options in the area so we had no choice but to stay. The attendant gave us a bottle of air freshener and told us to open windows. Since we were on the first floor, clearly this was not a safe option. We joked that we would be better sleeping in the common hallway since it didn't smell. When you didn't think it could get worse. Sheets had a stain, pillows were terrible and towels were threadbare. Didn't sleep a wink which defeats the purpose of a hotel. The morning sun didn't bring anything better. Coffee was horrible. At least they had a banana and brand name containers of yogurt, hard to mess that up. People with positive reviews must have been at a different location. Beware and find a different place to stay.

Safe quiet, good bed. Clean. Everything in working oreder with hot water. The breakfast person is lovely and food choices are appropriate and hot. Clean breakfast area. Did not use poll but looks OK . If its busy there is a parking problem.

My trip was on an emergency with a family member hospitalized. I was driving for 12 hours - tired yet focused on arriving safe to the hospital. The Front Desk staff took my reservation; assisted with my late check-in; greeted me with a warm, friendly welcome! I was stressed! The staff took great care & understood my concerns. Lovely place to rest, enjoy breakfast bar and very helpful staff! The next day, Front desk staff suggested & provided phone numbers to locate markets in the area! The 1st class treatment allowed me to concentrate on family in the hospital. Absolutely will book the the Best Western New England Inn & Suites for all of my travels to Connecticut!

Good room, nice beds, nice TV, nice bathroom with amenities. Decent clean place with free breakfast. Peaceful facing the forest in back. Only problem is they don't automatically clean your room on Saturdays or Sunday unless you ask. Luckily they were able to clean the room after we came back in the early evening.

We stay at this hotel 2 or 3 times a year when traveling from Maine to visit relatives down south. Always super clean and great breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Enjoy the suite rooms with a sofa. Plenty of places nearby to get dinner. Easy access to highway to NY.

Room: Seemed clean enough. The bathroom was very small, hard to maneuver around the door. The beds were comfy, but there were so many loud noises coming from all over it was hard to sleep. It sounded like scratching sounds coming from every corner of the room in 5 minute intervals, waking me up. Quite scary, and not conducive to a good sleep (even with music playing to try to drown it out). Staff: Front desk at evening check-in (around 7) could have been friendlier- she did not greet us when we walked up, and didn't really say anything other than asking for credit card and ID and telling us where our room was. The gentleman working the next morning was much friendlier. However, we called in the morning for late check-out and got an extra hour (12pm), but were still interrupted in our room by both the gentleman from the front and housekeeping before 12- he apologized for forgetting and was kind, but housekeeping told us "check-out was at 11" and seemed upset with us. Maybe a little better communication is needed. Pool: We were very excited for the pool since it is a main attraction when we treat ourselves to a daycation, but it was rather underwhelming. Relatively small, the room was rather dark and colorless, and despite being "heated" it was very chilly, so we had to try to enjoy it with goosebumps. There were also no towels available in the room or at the front, so we had to return to our room and get our room towels to use and then bring back up. Breakfast was great, best part of the stay! Sausage, hashbrown, veggie omelet, yogurt, waffle, all good. For the price paid, I would have expected a better experience. The rooms need a remodeling, and the pool needs an update. It wasn't the worst place I've stayed.

Comfortable bed and room . Professional and pleasant staff .Good to have the indoor pool. Very convenient location on a main road so easy access to anything you'd need.Plenty of different restaurants . Supermarkets and malls nearby.

Staff was not nice. They gave keys to anyone that came up and asked, without checking IDs. The pillows and sheets were stained. No hot water Thursday night or Friday monring. Food was gross. Gave people keys to already occupied rooms upon check in.

Good place to stop on our way home. Quiet and clean with a very good breakfast. The service is wonderful. We have stayed here before and while the rooms are a bit dated, it is still a wonderful place to stay.

I stayed at the Best Western Inn Plus on September 9, 2022 for 3 days while visiting family. I do not enjoy writing this kind of review but I hope that ownership and management will take note and rectify the problems. With the exception of the Front Desk Staff being friendly and welcoming upon check in on Friday night there is nothing good to say about the Inn or the rest of the staff during the remainder of my stay. The Front Desk staff couldn't have cared less for the rest of the stay. I inquired about Housekeeping service and that was on request only 24 hours in advance. I was not told at check in but I was shown a paper letter later posted at the entrance. I was extended housekeeping on Saturday. Housekeeping is NOT available on Sunday. The rate on Sunday is no different but no service available. The room unfortunately was a disaster. Please look at the pictures. 1) The desk chair should have been trashed long ago. I couldn't sit on it as it was totally deteriorated. Who knows where that chair came from? 2) The HVAC unit had a broken vent vibrating and it was obvious that coffee was spilled over it by a previous guest. Maid service never even touched it on Saturday morning. 3) Bath towels had holes in them and were paper thin. 4) Carpet was worn, ripped, had black spill stains and was in dire need of repair and cleaning. I had to keep my shoes on at all times. 5) Bed itself was comfortable but the mattress sheet had holes in it. 6) Corner of lamp table was broken off. I brought this up to the Front Desk Staff upon my departure. She answered OK with a blank look. It would be hard to return to this Inn and it's sad because the location would work well for me.

Everything was great, the only thing was the pool water could be drained a little so you could swim. It was very high. Also Could use bigger pillows instead of 6 small pillows. I would come back again

This is a very great hotel, it is clean, well maintained, great breakfast, helpful, courteous staff. It is a great location and not far from many restaurants and great shopping, not to mention centrally located.

Staff was very personable and knowledgeable about the area Room was clean and very affordable We were not able to use the pool this visit, however it was clean and inviting. We will definitely book again when in the area - we give this hotel 5 stars

Hotel was clean and the staff was responsive, friendly and professional. The breakfast was good. They ran out of coffee on Sunday but there was some available in the room so we used that. The fitness center was great.

The room was nice. The staff seemed disinterested in my comfort or happiness. Parking and location was fine and most things that a traveler needs was located within a short drive of this property. Other than the staff, the place was great.

If you are looking to visit Lake Compounce, this location is an excellent value and you will not be disappointed. This hotel offered free breakfast and had an indoor pool. If you are looking to grab a bite in the area, stop by the Pine Loft for some pizza.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast as well. Our only disappointment was the pool. We called ahead to confirm the pool was open before making our same day reservation. Upon arrival late in the evening, we were told the pool would most likely be closed the next day. We are grateful that we were allowed to cancel our second night when the pool was still closed in the afternoon after our first night. If a pool is important to your stay you may want to pass on this hotel until their pool problems are resolved.

We have stayed in quite a few lackluster places during the past 2 years of pandemic madness so I was thrilled to find that this hotel far exceeded my somewhat jaded expectations of these times. The beds were extremely comfortable and the noise level, considering that I was on the first floor and very close to the pool, lobby, and breakfast area was very low. I have trouble sleeping away from home but found it very easy to fall asleep and stay asleep here. There is a lovely sitting area in the lobby with couches, comfy chairs, and a fireplace. We met friends also staying at the hotel and sat there with some wine, cheese, and crackers one night. The Breakfast area is open and inviting. Some hotels have a cramped area where people are elbow to elbow at food and coffee stations. This one is arranged very thoughtfully and provides a very pleasant start to your day. Maid service was offered every day!!! So many places have limited their maid service and some even asked that we toss our towels into the hallway as a signal that we needed new ones. It was so nice to be able to put the "Please make up the room" sign on the door and come back to a fresh-looking room each night. I had one small issue with the person who answered the phone before my arrival, but I'm so glad I didn't allow that to cause me to change my reservation. Everyone I met upon arrival was very pleasant and accomodating. I will definitely return.

spent a sunday in the hartford area visiting New Britain museum of american art and Wadsworth athenaeum and stayed at this BW property. Nicely located on a major highway with all shopping not too far away, Hotel is easily accessible with reasonably spacious room and properly appointed with relevant amenities, all in working order. Fitness center was excellent, all equipment including TV was functional. Quite reasonably priced. No need to be in downtown Hartford, and more expensive lodgings. Good place to lodge for several nights.

Stayed here for our annual "let's go somewhere and swim" trip. The room was nice and well-appointed, staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. The bed was a little too hard for me but of course that's personal preference. We had some cleanliness issues with the pull-out sofa but everything else in the room was very clean so I think that was just an oversight. The real problem, and it really only matters because we went there specifically so we could swim, was that the pool was dingy and old, and the water was murky and gross. The water was dark green and you could not see the bottom of the pool, even in the shallow end. The water was colder than it should have been for a heated pool, and the air temperature in the pool room was also on the colder side. We did swim (but we made sure to shower afterwards because the water was so iffy) but it really wasn't as enjoyable as it should have been. The photos of the pool on their web site were lovely which is why we picked this hotel, but the reality of the pool was very disappointing. Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel if you are simply need a comfortable place to stay with clean rooms and a good breakfast, but I'd avoid the pool until they can fix whatever is causing it to be so gross.

Comfortable, but not the cleanest. Towels, toiletries, and parts for tub missing. Thermostat not working correctly very hot then very cold. Garbage cans not emptied. Missing full roll of T.P. and kleenex

This hotel never fails me. I enjoy my stay, I am loyal, and it really has become my home away from home. The location is very central and it is easy to get anywhere in the state of Connecticut, and there are many excellent food options close by, as well as a great amount of shopping

It was great , The bed was firm and comfortable, the sleep was good for us, we were able to get a good night sleep each night. The only weird thing was the toilet had a ring abound where the water stopped.

Lobby was very nice. The rooms were nice a bit of odd colors but not too outdated. The bathrooms are very outdated. Very clean. Friendly staff both through the phone and in person. Wish they had a proper coffee machine in the rooms

Good spot for biking the CT paths. Great breakfast. Pool was clean. Room AC/heater worked as needed. Facility is in good shape. Wireless Internet was a bit slow, but OK. Lots of dining options nearby. Very good value.

I booked a room with 2 queen beds but when I was arrived they insisted I booked one king - I had the confirmation that says otherwise. Despite having proof, there were no other rooms available. Nor did they apologize for the mistake. I booked 2 nights but the next day the hotel called to tell me I had left items behind after checkout. I explained that I had NOT checked out and had the room another night. After a very long hold, they came back and said that I was right - still no apology. I specifically asked if my room card keys would still work and they said 'YES' - the cards did NOT work and I had to go back downstairs to have them reprogrammed. I took a shower that night only to find out they took the towels I had used earlier but did not replace them - I had to dry my entire body and hair with a wash cloth. They also didn't empty the trash baskets and uneaten food was left all night and day. EPIC FAIL

Room smelled like someone smoked in it. Very disappointed. Two workers didn't smell smoke (how can they not….. very strong sent). Awful- look elsewhere. Also very very loud on the first floor so ask for a second floor room. There are much better hotels out there.

Great central location- priced right- I use it for business because of the location. Rooms are good though bathrooms are small. Breakfast is acceptable considering the current climate of Covid. I found it quiet with a good bed. Worth the stay- some may be able to hear the traffic on the Berlin Trpk so ask for a back facing room.

Reserved a room a week in advance with the cancellation. Called and asked if pool will be open, was told pool will be open during our stay. This was an important factor in choosing this hotel. Upon arrival found out pool was closed. Seeing my aggravation, the clerk said I could travel to a sister hotel-which was about 25 miles away! Not at all practical to where we were headed. Didn't offer any other compensation--if you want to keep the people you sometimes have to give a little!

This Is a great hotel, very clean, Very helpful staff, and pleasant and comfortable, Great Breakfast, and very nice breakfast area, recently renovated, and a great location, not far from shopping restaurants, and very central to all parts of the state.

The jacuzzi was the tiniest tub with weak jets and no heater, so lukewarm with no bubbles. The pool was so dirty you couldn't even see the bottom and it smelled moldy! Very disappointing hotel, I would not recommend staying here!

Access to the Highway was easy, breakfast was good and that's about it. This hotel is NOT at plus level. Slow drain, slow tub drain, running toilet and the TRAIN that ran throughout the entire evening! I'm more tired now than I was when we checked in. Both beds were lumply

I had to get a New room key every single day because it wasn't working. The latch on the door didn't work so anybody walk at night.The first room that they gave us smelled horrible like we couldn't even stay in there for five minutes so we got a new room but there was dirt on the walls and it wasn't clean. The pool that was open was freezing cold and did not have a lifeguard and was very small. It also didn't have chlorine in the pool.The hotel staff was rude and not understanding. The only thing I can say was good at this hotel was there breakfast. I will not stay here ever again and I wish I could get a refund.

It was a cute hotel. In the middle of nowhere but it's CT for you. The lady at the front desk was rude. She took 20 mins to arrive and we rang the bell. Entering the room it was nice but it could've been nicer. The bed skirt and the curtains were dirty. I normally don't say anything but with COVID I wanted too. I asked the lady to switch rooms and she said “we are all booked you'll have to deal with it”. I asked her to come clean the room and she did but was annoyed about it. The bed was comfy and those were the only two dirty spaces in the room.

Jacuzzi tub was good but kinda small. Other than that, the room was really nice. The fireplace area is great to relax. The king size bed is really comfortable to sleep in and the pillows are as well. The bathroom stall is really neat and spacious enough for a couple. The room looked very clean.

The room was very outdated! The room did smell good! Rugs looks like it needs shampooing or removed! Jets on the tub were very weak! The curtains had holes in them. If u want a dark room u can see the sun ray coming in through the holes on the curtains. Room did not meet my expectations. And it's too pricey!

We stayed here for one night due to it's proximity to Powder Ridge park (skiing and snowboarding) and because it has a pool. Powder Ridge ended up being sold out for the days we wanted to go, but we were celebrating my son's birthday and the hotel reviews were positive so we went for it. Unfortunately, we received a call a few days before we arrived to let us know the pool was temporarily closed due to maintenance. We were supposed to stay two nights as we wanted our kids to enjoy the pool (especially since the hotel has social distancing measures in place for pool use which were important to us), but with the pool closed we decided to stay only one night. The staff was very friendly the two times I spoke to someone on the phone before our arrival. They answered all my questions and had very genuine tones, friendly. Check in went smoothly and we go a room on the 2nd floor (228 which faces the front of the building). The room itself had a few updates such as the headboards, lamps, tv. However, the status of the beds, bed skirt, carpet and window curtains need help. A lot of it looked older/worn and the sheer curtain in our window was completely torn - my eyes went right to it when we arrived. The bed skirt appeared to need a washing. The sheets were clean however. Mattresses in our two - bed room were ok, not great, but not completely awful. Breakfast options in these covid-times were a little better than what I expected. There were hot egg and cheese small sandwiches, bagels, english muffins, cereal, yogurt, large muffins, and not sure what else. Coffee, juice, water also available. I called the front desk four times with no answer in the evening of our arrival day. I had to go down to the front desk and let them know. I called my husband on his cell and asked him to dial the front desk from our room, but even though he heard it ringing, I could see that it did not ring at the front desk as I stood there. They made a note of it so it could be checked out and fixed. I asked for a late checkout and we were given an extra hour. However, the next morning, someone knocked on our door after 11am to remind us checkout was at 11. We told her that I had requested a late checkout the night before and she made a note of it. There's a Subway sandwich shop nearby the hotel just about a 2 minute or so drive away. Not much around the hotel that we found, but other things a short drive away. Nearby activities include a mini golf and a go kart place that open in warmer months (these are on the same road as the hotel, very close). Pralines ice cream was a short drive away and we went twice during our short trip (Yum!). The escape room adventure at Team vs. Time was a short drive away and that was EXCELLENT. It was so good that the kids requested to do another escape room the next day and due to short notice and needing an early time so we could still drive back home, we had to find a different place to try. We found Codeword Escape which was also nearby and that was also a great time too. Our first night we were celebrating my son's 11th birthday and he requested Latin food for dinner. We searched on our gps and found a few options less than 15 mins away in New Britain. The first (Mofongo's) had great reviews, but when we arrived it was closed (online it said open until 10pm so definitely call places before you go!). Luckily Negrita's was close by to that place and they were open. Our food was delicious (the roasted chicken was a bit on the dry side, but the pepper steak, rice, sweet plantains, beans were great!).

Perfect for working central Connecticut (or sightseeing). Lots of parking, beautiful cozy lobby, phenomenal staff, large rooms, super comfortable beds and pillows, immaculate bathrooms, all in all, a great hotel to stay

I have been staying at this property once a month for the last two years, up until the pandemic. The property is clean and has a lovely country feel even though it is on a highway. The staff is exceptional in courtesy and competence. They have gone the extra mile during these last two months since reopening to be even more accommodating during the Covid crisis. The breakfast is scaled back due to the health restrictions but the hostess really works to make sure each guest has the most satisfaction with the limited offerings. There is also a great mini golf right across the street!

Feel comfortable coming to this hotel, even during pandemic. Will keep coming back. Very clean, friendly and accommodating staff, they have a 10 people capacity, 2hr limit at the pool, which is reasonable and they monitor it. One family at a time per elevator trip rule enforced. Enjoyed my stay as always. 5+ stars.

Only thing was breakfast had no options but chocolate muffins which I hate but I can say it was due to coronavirus other than that place was very clean quiet and modern I will be returning again my husband and I love to go on staycations to get away from home and this spot was a goodie

Overnight stay in middle of CT. Most attraction place is located between Best Western. Went to MGM Springfield, MA, Mohegan Sun, XL Center. There plenty of restaurants nearby best westen on Berlin Turnpike. Stay there many times. Will stay there again in the future.

The service is always great and these guys are a notch above most of the other properties. I always try to stay here with close access to ny pa and new england destination points they do a terrific job every time and are very consistent

Very nice hotel that neat, clean, safe and very hospitable. I've stayed here numerous times on business and my experience has always been very good! From a service standpoint, the entire staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. One person specifically who stands out is Sara (Desk Supervisor) who is always very charming, professional, friendly and helpful! She always goes the extra mile to make my stay just a little bit better by having my paperwork ready for me to sign when I arrive to save time and typically has a fresh batch of cookies warm and ready when I arrive. (She knows I love that!) Overall, an A+ experience every time I stay at this hotel. Thank You!

She is prompt, respectful, and always takes the time to ask me how I have been. She is great at engaging conversation and making me feel welcome. BW is lucky to have her!

When traveling we try to stay at a Best Western if one is convenient to our travels. This one is the best we have stayed in. Clean, safe location with excellent staff. Never have had an issue with any room we've stayed in and all amenities are available. Recommend you trying if looking for a place to stay in Central Connecticut.

We had a quick stay at the Best Western when passing through the area and had a nice experience. The check-in was fast and easy, which was appreciated given our late check-in at midnight. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I would return if in the area again.

Just wanted to communicate with family from a relaxed undisclosed location, eliminating any unexpected door bell rings... It's so peaceful to support family, to listen and help them talk through their situations and then to say good night. I'll keep you in prayer.

The location was great for my business travel, quiet location and very helpful staff. The smell of the breakfast will bring you out of your room to try it and it was great. When I walked by the desk first thing in the morning the young man behind the desk greeted me by name.

As I indicated above, the motel is centrally located in CT for our purposes. We liked the quality of the rooms, breakfasts, the indoor heated pool, and the helpfulness of the management and staff. A good choice at a decent price.

My wife and I received an email that i had qualified for a free night stay and we chose thus best western because it was about 1 hour from foxwoods casino..The check in was great and well as the room .The breakfast was good with bacon ..hash browns and waffles ..Our stay was very nice and would stay again when in the area

A hotel with extremely helpful staff. We arrived late and the children were really tired but needed a snack. The hotel receptionist kindly gave us several fruits that were well appreciated. Rooms were clean and we found the pool good for both evening and morning swims. Recommended for families travelling with children.

If your happen to be in the area, we recommend this hotel very highly. Is conveniently located to all major attractions and cities, very helpful and friendly staff, and it is a place that you want to come back to when visiting the Nutmeg State.

If you're in the Berlin area, this is an excellent place to stay. Clean and comfortable and an overall good stay. Bed and pillows extremely comfortable, Breakfast is good and efficiently run. Our daughter and her family recently moved to Berlin and we have stayed here four times already and it's starting to feel like feel like home.

The place well maintained.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Been here many times in pass years. Place nearby many attraction & restaurant. Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun Casino about 1 hr away depend which way you go.

Excellent location. Always appreciate the free breakfast. Includes healthy choices and other breakfast items. We chose this location to be close to Essex CT. It was a short direct trip to downtown Essex and the Essex Steam train.

This place was vey nice. from the moment i walked in the door the staff was very friendly and professional. The room was clean, everything worked fine and i got a good night sleep. the breakfast wasn't bad especially for a continental hot breakfast

Any time we travel up North, we stay at this hotel. Everyone is most welcoming and the hotel is very comfortable. We enjoy the breakfast, use the workout room and appreciate the internet. We have yet to use the swimming pool which is a nice added feature.

I call this my home away from home The staff is kind the rooms extremely clean. Excellent value. I have stayed at the property for the past four years and with all the trips I make to the area I have never stayed anywhere else.

Really pleasant experience. As a frequent guest at Envoy properties this one was surprisingly similar. The complimentary breakfast was also surprisingly good. Went to a reunion at nearby Casa Mia and this BW was super convenient.

Our first day in Berlin, I had major problems with my I Phone. I am not a tech person at all. I went to the desk and asked Evelyn where an AT&T store is. Evelyn said no problem - took my phone, and in less than 5 minutes my phone was perfect. She was so friendly, helpful- felt very comfortable being at Best Western. Thank you Evelyn. The accommodations, food were very good. And very quiet! Will return.

We stayed here on our way to New Hampshire. Great location. Very friendly n helpful staff. Big spacious rooms with fridge and microwave oven. Comfortable beds. Great breakfast buffet lots to choose from. N a Big parking lot for oversized vehicles.

The hotel is very well-maintained. The rooms are exceptionally clean. And the front desk staff were absolutely wonderful. It was great to be able to grab a cup of coffee after a day of seeing the sights in the area and going back to relax in the room. We really enjoyed the breakfast the food was great and the room was very comfortable. The person setting up and maintaining the breakfast area was very friendly too.

Everything is excellent. It's quiet, they have hot breakfast, coffee 24 hrs. The pool is open all year and the hours that the pool and fitness center is open is until 11pm which is generous. Front desk staff is always friendly and knowledgeble. You are/have everything I look and enjoy in a hotel, thank you.

Very friendly and accommodating. Staff was very Helpful And went out of their way to see that my stay was as comfortable as possible. After a long day of driving I arrived late to check in, I was very tired and the woman at the front desk Was very kind and understanding and made the process of check in as quickly and easily as possible.

Clean and convenient . Able to park full size van and trailer. Breakfast was very good. TV signal cut out after watching at night for several hours .WiFi for personal devices work well all the time . Recommend when in the area .

This is a great hotel, it is centrally located in the state, and is clean, well kept and the staff is excellent, I am made to feel very welcome, and in fact feel like I am home when I am there. I spend several days at this hotel every year. and would recommend it to anyone that is staying in the area.

Always clean, friendly staff. Decent rooms, recommend away from street if your a light sleeper. occasionally highway traffic from trucks a bit loud. Nice light breakfast is available but the coffee needs improvement. In-room coffee is a better choice.

My sisters and I went to see our sick father out of the states while we stayed in many hotels to and from we were never showed a room prior to booking. Sara is the reason we chose BW and will stay again.

We were traveling from Canada to Virginia and stopped at Best Western in Berlin, CT. Sara was at the front desk and was extremely helpful. We were unsure about what room we wanted and she offered to show us the rooms before we made the reservation. She was personable, friendly and provided us with all the answers to our many questions. Sara definitely made us feel very welcome. She even found us an unbeatable rate. We are very thankful that we had the pleasure of meeting her! If we ever travel through Connecticut again, we will definitely stop at Best Western Plus and hopefully we will be lucky enough to be able to see Sara again.

Planned a trip with my family to this location. The area around the property is beautiful and lush. Front Desk was not very friendly upon check in but the night shift guys were superb! Breakfast was average, bagels, bread, muffins, bacon, eggs, tea, coffee. I did not like that the proteins catered to the pork eater. I had egg and cheese on 1 occasion which was appreciated. IF YOU DO NOT EAT PORK, DO NOT REACH FOR THE OMELETTE WITH THE PRETTY COLORED BITS. Our pillows had a few black spots on them that we were not sure about. The pool is a cozy little feature however the location is a bit weird (you can be seen from the lobby/breakfast area.) Beds were comfy and a.c. worked fine. Hallway floors are covered on carpet but floor can get a bit creeky/squeaky when you walk by. Overall my family made the best of our time there. Not sure if I'll stay again.

A gem of a property! Quiet, clean, excellent service and great pricing! I usually stay at BW in North Haven but headed here for a change and it was 30% cheaper! So quiet and nice not to have the train whistles 100' from the hotel blasting by all night. The staff was great and very accommodating. Didn't have time for breakfast this time but I will be back in August.

Checked out of another hotel, due to unkept room, switched over to this one. Very clean rooms, nice area, good breakfast choices, staff very friendly, would highly recommend to family planning a trip to that area.

This is the 4th time we have stayed here. It has always been a great experience. I recommend it anyone. Everyone was always so friendly and helpful. It was easily located to all our family activities.

Stayed here for the Travelers Championship june 21st-23rd. Hotel is in a perfect location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was well kept and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Definitely recommend staying here and will being staying here myself in the future!!

First impression was awesome. Lobby was nicely decorated. But actually front desk staff, Mark, was the best thing about this motel! He was professional, friendly and helpful. Acknowledged that we were points members as well. After that it was down hill. Although the room appeared clean I found a hand towel that was never changed out and had makeup on. Bathroom was extremely tiny. Then evening came and our neighbors were rudely loud, with screaming, yelling, banging the door and turning up the tv so loud, I was forced to call front desk the second night. Mark actually went to their door and asked them to tune it down. Around 30 minutes later, they must have went to sleep. The first night upstairs people checking in around 3 a.m. we could hear them walking and getting situated. So not very well insulated. The parking lot was not cleaned with same trash around both nights. The breakfast area was small with only six tables. This was a problem on Sunday morning with having to eat in the lobby; no table available, but Monday morning wasn't a problem. Usual fare served for breakfast. Work out room was small, with one of the three machines only worked.

We will definitely return to this location. We travel a lot and we enjoyed our time here. There is much to do in the area and we enjoyed our stay at Best Western Plus New England Inn & Suites. I would also like to recommend Wood-N-Tap, a bar and grill not too far down the road. Fantastic taps and great food! Service there is excellent.

Like the location and the help at desk was excellent. The room was a good size and comfortable. Will stay again next year. The location was great because it is near the highway and you can go any were quick. The women at the front desk that day was nice and helpful also.

Stayed at Beste Western in Berlin, CT (to avoid I-95 traffic in the morning) for Massage Therapy Continuing Education course at Cortiva Institute (a short 7 miles away). Had dinner at Joey Garlic's which (check out their 14" cheese steak sandwich!)

Everything was super clean, the people were great, and the breakfast was far more that I expected. The kids loved the pool, even though it was mid sized it still worked for me. They said there was an exdersize room somewhere, but no time for that.

Best Western Plus New England Inn & Suites is an excellent Hotel. The General Manager Daneil Mcfarlane was very professional and ensured that we had everything that we need during our stay. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. We definitely will be staying there on our next visit to Connecticut.

This was my second time staying at this BW. I use it for when I'm in town on business. My room was decent, there was some hair in the bathroom that was off-putting, but it was in weird places (top corner by the ceiling?) so I can understand how it may have gotten missed by someone focused on cleaning the usable parts of the room. Otherwise it was clean and comfortable enough. What helped to elevate my rating beyond that oddity was the staff. Especially Tyler, the young man at the front desk the next morning. He was absolutely delightful, professional and courteous. Enough that I made sure to take notice of his name for this review!! Other members of staff were nice as well, a woman working the breakfast bar refreshments was very personable and cordial greeting those of us having breakfast. I'll stay again when in the area.

I stay at hotels 4 nights a week and this one is fantastic. The people that work here are so friendly and very helpful. The lobby is gorgeous and relaxing. The rooms are large, clean and well furnished, nut most importantly, the bed is super comfortable!

Have stayed here many times on our travel up to and through Connecticut. Although there are many other motels in the area, we choose Best Western as our destination because of it's location, cleanliness, reasonable pricing and staff.

There is nothing around the hotel to do. The walls are thin and i heard everything that 5he neighbors we saying. I also heard everyone that would walk down the hall way. The staff was nice and rooms were clean.

Me and my wife stayed her for one night. I wish we stayed longer. We had the jacuzzi suite and it was wonderful! The room was great. It had a separate sitting area with a TV with a fridge and microwave and a fireplace! The breakfast in the morning was awesome! Bacon, sausages, eggs, waffles, coffee and juices. We will definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at this motel many times; it is our favorite when visiting Connecticut. Breakfasts are great, room service excellent, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The indoor pool is a welcome addition and we have used it frequently. We have recommended that Best Western motels automatically offer bathtub non-slip mats, especially for us oldsters. When the staff was asked, they did immediately provide one.

This was the best hotel experience I have ever had and it was entirely because of the staff. They went out of their way to find us a room, make sure we were comfortable and accomodate us for our entire stay. Daniel and Evelyn were 5 star all the way and my family appreciated their hospitality and professionalism. I won't stay anywhere else when I travel to CT. Thank you both so very much!

Front desk staff member who checked us in was outstanding. Wish I could remember her name. She is from Puerto Rico and took the time to speak with us about the current situation on the island as my husband had traveled there several times on business. Everyone from front desk to breakfast staff to housekeeping was helpful. Hotel looks brand new, very clean.

Hello. I attempted to write this review and had issues with the TA site but here goes. This property is the reason a stay exclusively at Best Western. It is always clean the folks are always friendly. The breakfast fare is always fresh. I even stay here when a two hour round trip within the state is required. Stay here it has value comfort cleanliness and kind staff.

Stayed one night while travelling on business. The check-in became a little awkward when the clerk took my license into a back office to copy it (hasn't happened to me before). The bed was hard, the comforter not warm enough (no extra blanket - folded the comforter in half and huddled under it), the bright light outside could not be blocked by the curtain, and could hear any noise from the next room, as well as footsteps in the room above. I was awakened by noise a little after midnight, and had a difficult time going back to sleep, given all of the above. My business schedule could not be adjusted because of the lack of rest. The breakfast had few options for vegans, aside from fruit (no soy/almond milk, nuts, etc.). When asked at checkout, I told the clerk it was one of the worst nights I'd had staying in a hotel. He said he was sorry, I was not impressed with the sincerity of the response, and that was that. The hotel appears to be newly decorated and appears pleasant, but one cannot cover basic issues (lack of noiseproofing, lack of light blocking, etc.) with redecorating. We travel to this area at least once a year for business - would not stay again.

Fast, friendly check in. Very clean room. Bed comfortable. Windows open which was refreshing. Jacuzzi works great, but only room for one. Always hot water...taking turns with the jacuzzi I want sure it would last, but it did! Fireplace was sweet! Breakfast tasty with nice selection. Only one car to bring luggage to/from room which made it so we had to carry our luggage out...and we travel with a lot of stuff. The pool was visible from our room and it, too, had windows. Listening to the kids play was fun. We didnt go to the pool area, but it gets a lot of use...lots of laughter there! This hotel was about 20 minutes away from the theater we went to, but made no difference as it's an amazing place to stay!!

Stayed one night on our way to Virginia. Rooms were average. Hotel is sort of in the middle of nowhere. Our room was on the parking lot side and the lights were shinning right in our window. Good enough for one night. I would try somewhere else next time, but would stay again if I had to

Overall very nice hotel. Well decorated. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable lobby. Quiet. Felt safe. Breakfast was pretty good. They have the flavored coffee creamers, which is a nice bonus. The artwork in our room was absolutely outstanding. Beautiful fall pictures, which just so happened to fit into the time of year we travelled.

I stayed at this Best Western for one night only. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. The staff were very nice and attentive. The breakfast was ok, I would probably give it a 4 out of 5 for that. Overall, I would definitely recommend this Best Western.

Our family and friends lived in New Britain and Kensington. Location was great. When traveling South you did have to go to a light to do a U turn to be on the correct side of the road to enter the facility. It was easy, as the light was a special left turn light for those making the U turn.

Went to a concert at Toyota Oakdale Theatre which is about 12 minutes drive.Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casino is about 45 to 50 minutes.Enjoy breakfast and the room. Location is easy on/off in the Berlin Turnpike.

Nice hotel near where we were working. Short drive from West Hartford, we were only on 84 s short time so we avoided all the traffic. 24hr Dunkin Donuts right down the street so that made me happy. There was a fancy steakhouse, Italian restaurant within walking distance but that was it. Not their fault but good to know when booking.

If you happen to be in the central CT area, this a place that you can consider. It's centrally located within close proximity to the points of interest and amenities. Very friendly staff ready to assist you at all times, and the price was very good too.

Stayed there twice during hiking trips. Great location and quiet hotel! Pool is nice to relax after a day of walking in the so many national parks in the surrounding area. Nice breakfast! Clean rooms and great service!

It was my pleasure to meet Sara at the registration desk at the Best Western Hotel, 2253 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, CT. I am having several guests visiting me from out of state and have limited room in my home to accommodate all of them. I decided to visit the hotels around my area to see if they would be able to accommodate them. Sara went above and beyond expectations in excellent customer service. She gave me a tour of the hotel including the fitness center, pool, and breakfast area. Without hesitation, she took me to see one of the rooms. The hotel was spotless and clean and offered everything my guests would need while visiting. In this day and age when customer service is lacking, Sara renewed my hope that there are still those willing to go the extra mile for potential customers.

I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel in the future. Clean, safe and comfortable. The staff was great! Breakfast not as good as most hotels I stay in, but still a very nocel selection of food was available.

We booked the suite. Great sitting area, good sized kitchen in the room, king sized bed. Room has breakfast bar with stools, full sized frig, stoves &oven, sofa (I believe it was a sleeper sofa), chair, desk. Good sized clothes closet. Was perfect for our stay as we were visiting family and we were able to have them over to the room and cook dinner.

Rooms were musty smelling with mold in bathroom. It was remodeled at some point but could use it again. Breakfast was decent, front desk staff very friendly. Would stay again maybe if no other hotel was available.

We were very happy with the experience at the New England Inn & Suites. The breakfast was way better than our normal experience. The internet connections was fast and stable. We have stayed at Best Western Hotels all over the United States and this facility is one our best experiences.

We have often gone out of our way to stay at Best Western properties for many reasons - great beds, good breakfast choices & and nice loyalty benefits. Even with a Diamond-level BW loyalty card, things were not good here. The desk person did not mention our loyalty level, no upgrade, no mention of a gift or extra point awarded. The beds were old & hard, and breakfast was not very good. We were disappointed with all of it at this particular hotel.

We had a lovely stay. Staff was great. Very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was good (except for the powder eggs), nice variety. Bed was very comfortable. Clean room. Internet connection was very strong.

This hotel looks to be fairly new. Quality of workmanship felt poor like it was rushed. The pool was very cloudy and not appealing to swim. Breakfast untensils were flimsy and almost useless. The food was good, but selection was less than other Best Western hotels that we stayed in. Not the worst experience, but we would probably not stay here again.

My friend and I stayed here for one night. I wish we stayed in Rocky Hill, as this is truly a highway hotel... it was run down and didn't seem very clean. For the same price we could have stayed at a brand new Marriot one town over.

The worst BW I stayed at, with mini bathroom, uncomfortable bed, no reading chair, non working AC in the fitness room. Should be called BW Minus instead of BW Plus! I booked the room for a whole week but left after the first night.

From the very start, our room keys did not work. OK, it happens - we thought after trying to enter our room for the first time. Reception reset both keys, but they still did not work by the back door leading from the parking lot. So; with our stuff, we went back the long way - through the lobby. And it kept happening every time we left the room. One time, when I went to the reception desk, the young man there gave me a lengthy and detailed instruction to not to put the key in my pocket next to my phone. I had no phone on me. Well, then I should not put the keys next to the phone at all... It was very frustrating and eventually the other young man apologized for the inconvenience but it was not friendly at all, just a statement. I should mention that temperatures were in the high 90s, and having to walk around the hotel, and back and forth was rather unpleasant. The hotel itself is nice, but people are the ones who make it stand out or not. The previous three nights we stayed at BW Storrs - an older, pretty worn out place. But we loved that hotel! The friendliness of all staff we encountered - the reception lady, the breakfast lady, housekeeping personnel - they all were so nice! What a difference it made...

Front office staff was most welcoming. Attractive lobby. Clean room. Breakfast area was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had ample choices Heated pool was clean and relaxing. There was ample, off-street parking.

Hotel was a great value. The room decor is up to date and very clean. Staff was pleasant. Bed was super comfortable. My only complaint is that breakfast does not start early enough. We had to be out early for a sporting event and had to find breakfast elsewhere.

The hotel is a good value and our room was very clean. We were visiting family in the area and this hotel was convenient to our destination. We had stayed in other hotels in the area recently and this was definitely cleaner than most. The staff was friendly, breakfast was adequate, 24 hour coffee is a bonus! This will be our go-to hotel for our future visits to the area!

Conveniently located between Hartford and New Haven. Nice spot if you're traveling for business or passing through the area. Hotel was very clean with very nice amenities for the price. The pool was nice - the water was warm. The bed was comfortable and gentleman at front desk was polite and helpful. We went to Mark Twain House and other places in Hartford Connecticut. Location was convenient.

Very friendly lady served breakfast- all smiles as were the various maids. Front desk folks were more businesss-lke than friendly. Pool was chilly the first day we stayed. Local brochures in the lobby would help. We discovered Middletown with fabulous restaurants and the KIDS PLAY on our own. Landscaping was welcoming.

Friendly staff. Grab and go breakfast items convenient! Coffee and juice all day was also convenient. We got in early one evening and there were even cookies available, Four stars because sofa and chair in the room not very comfortable.

Great location right off SR 2 if you don't have to travel during rush hour. Right next to two restaurants. One is actually three-in-one with very good food: Chinese, Japanese (sushi), and Japanese steak house (cook in front of you).

My wife and I stayed here during a holiday trip. The property is right off of the Turnpike and has ample parking. It is very clean outside, and has an immaculate lobby and hall area. The staff were very attentive. The room was very clean and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed. The room was very quiet. Breakfast was excellent, as was the Internet service. There was a sufficient number of convenient power outlets for device recharge. The overall experience was exceptional, and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Best western Plus in Berlin, Ct and were very pleased with the hotel. The bed was very comfortable, they offered a complete complementary breakfast and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

Good hotel. Staff was friendly. Location is in a quiet neighborhood. Hotel was neatly kept. The only one disappointment was the breakfast menu. It was a little too predictable. The same items were served everyday. It would help if the menu was varied a little. The overall experience was a good one. Would recommend it.

I really liked the hotel. The check in went well, the staff was very helpful. The rooms were clean and updated. The pool is heated. I chose this place over the others because breakfast started at 7am, even on a Sunday. There are laundry facilities on site for guests. My room had a mini fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable, what more can you ask for?

Would not stay here again. Staff was friendly but hotel is only two floors and had a strange energy. Dated decor and lots of noise from street and room's AC unit. Bedding was low quality and had no temperature control so it was difficult to get a good nights sleep. Breakfast was very bad and any decent restaurants were over 5 mile drive away. Wish I had better things to say, will not stay here again.

This Hotel is an excellent choice for a comfortable and restful stay. The hotel seems very new and the beds are comfortable and very clean. The hotel is a bit out of the way and away from restaurants and stores, but otherwise it is a good choice for travel.

We only stayed overnight, but as a family we were very happy with the BW in Berlin. Great value: big room, good breakfast-loved the waffles, clean and warm pool! Good internet connection and big refrigerator for a hotel room. The staff were very nice as well if one needed anything. I would definitely recommend.

Have been to this hotel before and every time I come I have no complaints. Next time I come I will use the heated pool. The beds were very comfortable and were queen which a lot of hotels only have double beds. I am a happy customer.

Check in was fast and easy. I was traveling with an elderly relative, and room was located close to elevator. Room was clean and comfortable, quiet. Exercise room was also clean. Nice simple breakfast was included with the room.

Just a comfortable bed and a good night sleep. Hotel staff was great! Very friendly and helpful... only downfall was nor Easter and hearing snow blowers in the morning... other than that no complaints.

Although my stay at this hotel didn't start out great, I have to say that it was a good visit. The facility was clean, the staff was pleasant, the breakfast was good and the price was reasonable. As I said, my visit didn't start out great and that was due to the fact that when I arrived at approximately 8pm, there wasn't any staff at the front desk or lobby area. When I first arrived there was one other person waiting in the lobby. As I approached the front desk I noticed that there was a sign placed on top of the desk that said that there wasn't anyone there and if someone needed assistance to call a phone number. I'm sorry, but where I work the desk is always manned...always. The hotel needs to staff their hotel with enough staff to ensure continuous coverage at that desk. Seeing someone at the front desk is part of the welcoming atmosphere and experience of any given facility. Additionally, it discusses any person on the street from just walking in and engaging in criminal activity. All that being said, when the woman who was inside the lobby called, an employee did respond down from the second floor and helped us both out. I would definitely stay here again if of course there's someone at the front desk to check me in lol....

best lodging in the area, always very clean, staff always very accommodating...would recommend to the most discerning traveler & vacationer; place is always very quiet for business guests, with beautiful indoor pool for families.

The room was pleasant and clean. I found the bed comfy. Front desk was efficient and friendly. Yummy, tho basic, breakfast. Convenient location. Nice fitness room and pool tho I didn't have time for either. Great choice!

Nice receptionist. Very clean, quiet room. Mattress was perfect - not too firm, not too saggy. The only minor issues were that the heat was too warm, even set at 68 (ended up turning on the a/c), and the bathroom door didn't stay open, but not a deal breaker. The self-serve breakfast was solid. We had fresh waffles, little sausage patties, mini hash browns, bacon and pastries (the cheese omelet had no flavor, though). Would stay here again.

Great location, easy to get to everywhere from here. Free wifi and access to the front lobby computer and printer. Breakfast was good, additional option of chees omelets was a nice surprise. All day coffee/tea was much needed

My family and I stayed at the Best Western in Berlin, CT on February 18, 2018. We were greeted by a very welcoming receptionist by the name of Sara. She was very polite and helped my family to get accommodated quickly and professionally. The pool was heated and their were clean towels stacked by the pool area and the beds were extremely comfortable with plenty of room space.The location was great everything is within a short distance including both fast food and nice dinner places. This was our first evening here and I will be staying more often and I will be recommending this hotel to close family and relatives.

Was pleasantly surprised.. We went there on a Thursday to pick up our new dog Friday morning. The desk attendant was great. Gave us extra towels and pillow for our son. And a list of restaurants in the area. The pool area was clean and warm. The room was clean. Also a complimentary breakfast that was good. Not just cold cereals. Omelette, sausage, homefries and a make your own waffle station. Checked out with a full belly. I would definitely go back there if I traveled in that area again.

Excellent breakfast i love to stay i would like go back and try the room with the Jacuzzi is very clean woul like to stay again for more night. I would highly recommend, to friends and family. Very nice staffs.

This hotel was EXCELLENT and for package deal through southwest even better! Even though it was a little out the way for us from the funeral we where attending the hotel itself was very nice inside and very clean which is major for me and the free breakfast was delicious! Everyone was great except for the lobby manager who for some reason seemed to be the only person who hated his job! I love people and he seemed like he hated people! In order to do his job he needs to be personable with the customers staying at the hotel and he had nothing personable about him I believe his name was Daniel or David or something within those lines

We have periodically stayed at Best Western Hotels throughout the United States for many years and have been pleased with the service, room, and locations. This one did not disappoint either. Breakfast is always a plus during travel.

We have stayed here many times in the past few years on our return to Connecticut since relocating to North Carolina. Consider this Best Western as our home away from home. Would not return if didn't like motel.

I had an excellent experience during a one night business stay, My room was large and comfortable. The bed was great. Breakfast was good. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Location was very convenient. The TV guide was difficult to use but I don't think that's the hotel's fault, so I didn't mark down my review for that.

My husband and best friend and I had am awesome time during our stay and the breakfast was amazing. We will definitely visit this best western again. The staff was amazing and it was easy to find using our GPS.

We had occasion to attend a ball at the Casa Mia at Hawthorne in Berlin, Ct. As we do not live locally, we chose to stay overnight near the event venue. We ended up at Best Western Plus New England Inn and Suites in Berlin. Our stay was extremely pleasant. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and right up the block from where we were staying! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again should the occasion arise. The only two "critiques" that I could offer to the hotel management are as follows: a) The tubs should have a grab bar. b) A second waffle maker should be installed in the breakfast room! We were in the breakfast room for at least 20 minutes and the waffle maker was monopolized by one family alone this entire time. This would not prevent me from returning to the hotel in the future; however, I think it would best be served if this change could be made!

Excellent Hotel...Ranks right up there with the Big chain Hotels, the room was nicely updated and decorated. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was very typical, as in it was as good as any for the price...Can't complain one bit.

Everything was perfect! The always available coffee and hot chocolate was a plus as were the fresh baked chocollate chip cookies in the evening!. The pool was clean and fun and the rooms excellent. We would definitely stay here or at another best western again

Friendly helpful staff. Good, quick breakfast. Coffee all day and night in the breakfast room and coffee maker in the room. Nice sized refrigerator for extended stay. Microwave had an issue that was not taken care of. A/C-heat unit was very accommodating and very quiet. Room was spotless... including bathroom. Shower was great with adjustable shower head. Fairly quiet except for footsteps in room above. Pool, Free internet. Exercise room. Guest washer/drier. BED WAS SOOOOOO COMFORTABLE! Overall great value with multi-night discount.

Me and my family have stayed in this best western multiple times. Aside from the wifi lacking for my roku stick during the afternoon, everything is great. Everything is in great condition, the staff look like they are ready and happy to help at all times. Variations of breakfast are pretty good. Its kid friendly and i always enjoy the rooms cleanliness and set up. The location is pretty close to everything as long as you have google maps, your great.

Every time I return to this area, I stay at this here. Staff is friendly and always there to assist you. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is surrounded by the woods, which also keeps road noise down.

The staff went way beyond the call of duty to make things right for me!!! Like - Dirty dishes. Dirty counters. Noise from Laundry Room under my room was excessive. I worked from my hotel suite but did not rent a car so high quality food was not available.

Best Western Plus met our needs for a family reunion in the Glastonbury area. It was comfortable, clean, and provided a large variety of food for breakfast. Coffee, hot water, iced water, and juice was available all day long.

Clean, Clean, Clean and Great Staff. The breakfast area is wonderful and the food consistently great! The bed was super comfortable and there was always someone available at the front desk if you had any questions. Did someone say Pool?...the one at the location is inside and a beauty!

My husband got injured at the pool area because of a loosen piece of the floor. Nobody helped, he got a cut in his finger and some scratches on his leg and the lady at the front desk just offered a bandaid!!!! Not even something to clean or desinfectante or some assistance

My family and I have stayed at Best Western's for all of our official and leisure travel. We have been happy with all of our stays, however this one was subpar. The room wasn't very clean. Dirty bathroom floor, poorly vacuumed, and burn holes on the blanket of the rollout bed were some of the discrepancies. Additionally, we have never been charged for a rollout bed in the past. We were charged $25 for the rollout bed and like I said, the bed linen was poorly maintained.

My family of 5 stayed here as a 1 night stay from a long trip home. (Maine to Pittsburgh). The room was huge for a double room, everything was clean and in working order. The beds were comfortable and had a ton of pillows on them. The breakfast in the morning was one of the best I have seen (Bacon, Sausage, hashbrowns, cheese omelets, muffins, donuts, waffle maker, cereal, juice, fruit and more I am sure to be missing). We used the pool in the morning to burn some energy before getting back in the car. They provided towels, so we didn't have to unpack any. I have no complaints at all about the hotel especially with the price under $100. Would definitely stay here again.

Here for one night as I worked in the area. Room was clean and comfortable as well as the other parts of the hotel. Unfortunately I couldn't get the tv to work properly but I didn't complain seeing that I was in late and out early in the morning. Breakfast started at 6 which was your normal cereals, breads, and yogurts. Not to much fruit except for apples and some brown bananas. I would stay again.

Very accommodating staff - had to ask for a room change due to skid mark stains on the bed covers and someone else's hair in the towels. We were given a different room which was clean but the experience put a damper on our trip.

The hotel was very nice. It was neat and clean and quiet at times that it should be. The room was comfortable and the service timely and efficient. Breakfast was good for simple tastes with something for most.

We were disappointed because out travel plans were interrupted to Europe. We stayed here on our way to our weekly Airbnb and with the pool and breakfast it was just what we needed. If we were headed in this direction again this would be a serious consideration.

Best Western in Berlin is central of all major attractions.. Went to concert at Oakdale Theater in Wallingford and beach, Mohegan Sun casino. EZ on/off from Berlin Turnpike. Will stay there again in the future.

A great hotel when passing through. Too bad there is nothing near by for food. Staff was friendly and helpful. On the second day our room was cleaned and the beds were made, but they forgot to give us some new bathtowels. Phoned the front desk and they brought us some. Great breakfast. Overall a good and confortable pkace to stay.

The housekeeper we had during the week only kept on to leave hand towels, one time we didn't get toilet paper and had to call the front desk at 6:45am as we ran out and I was having a problem with my celiac disease. Shampoo, soap. etc . missing many days

Very clean hotel, and very friendly staff all around. Breakfast was very good and much appreciated. We were promptly checked in upon arrival. Any questions I had were answered with just a call to the front desk. We were able to receive extra towels in a timely manor. Check out was fast. We were with a group of youth and they very much enjoyed the pool. We come to the area once a year and we would definitely stay in this hotel next year.

Getting here was not easy. No left turn into hotel from southbound Berlin Turnpike (turn lane has no access to hotel, so you have to go half a mile beyond and make a U-turn, watching out for speeding northbound cars, with no turn lane to decelerate before turning in to hotel). Hotel appearance was nice with apparently recent renovation. Indoor pool but no hot tub. Refrigerator was set to warmest setting. Snug rooms. Elevator requires two narrow 90-degree turns (not easy with a luggage cart). Still, a decent value.

The staff I dealt with were helpful, courteous and respectful. I checked in late and the front desk staff were very accommodating. A little overpriced for the area. The rooms were clean. Location is ideal for work. I will stay here again.

I liked everything but the food and the bthtub. The idea of including breakfast is great, and it makes the entire package attractive, but the food was horrible - No vegetables = big minus, few frueits = minus, omlets with processes chees = big minus (without cheese at all would be much better), too many types of sweet pastry and two few choices of healthy bread = bad diet; the buffet style was nice though. The buthtub was very small; a larger one would be appreciated.

In March I booked a handicap accessible room at this hotel through another on-line travel service, for a late June stay. A few days before our trip, I called the hotel and discovered that the travel service failed to communicate our need to the staff, and that the only handicap-accessible room with a roll-in shower was already occupied. My wife, who is wheelchair-dependent, decided to "rough it" in a normal room -- which is not easy. At the same time, the hotel staff decided to upgrade us to a suite, which was more roomy, so as to help accommodate her wheelchair. Although the restroom lacked the handgrips, etc., the staff really did everything they could do to help us as we traveled, and we are very thankful! Each staff person we spoke with was cheerful, helpful and kind. Thank you all!!!

Convenient Location. Plenty of parking. Room was clean and comfortable, including the bed. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was well presented. Definitely would stay here again when in the area in the future.

Try this motel, you won't be disappointed. Motel is clean and convenient location. We have stayed here many times and will return when visiting family and friends in Connecticut. Even though right off Berlin Turnpike, get a rear room toward the woods and road traffic cannot be heard.

We needed to stay somewhere since we got in late and my daughter recommended this hotel. We were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the helpfulness in making a last minute reservation. Clean room but very small bathroom. Creaky floors--you could hear whenever the guests next door walked across the room. The breakfast was mediocre and cramped--overflow seating was in a conference room with chairs stacked to the ceiling. If you pushed aside a stack of framed artwork, you could sit at the table. The place was packed with families attending the graduation in nearby Middletown--you'd think they would have been more prepared. Definitely a one time stay for us. Works if you get in late and leave early...

This Best Western Plus in Berlin is about 30 minutes from New Haven via expressways which makes it a smart choice when hotels there quadruple their rates during peak weekends such as graduation. The hotel is about a dozen years old. It's clean with spacious, bright rooms, fresh furnishings and comfortable beds. The pillows are fairly thick. The housekeeper provided blankets on request to use instead of the duvet. The bath tub is slippery and the one grab bar was too short and poorly placed to be useful. The hotel lobby and hallways were calm and clean. The wooden floors creaked. The elevator made a groaning sound that was mostly noticeable in the elevator. The hotel staff was helpful and provided items that we needed, such as a Do Not Disturb door hanger, new keys when the original ones stopped working, and fresh sheets when one on the bed looked less than ideal. The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast. We opted instead for one of the diner/restaurants in the area that offers specialties and their own bread baking.

We were pleased with most all aspects of this hotel. The breakfast room could be a bit bigger, especially on Saturdays..... The personal were helpful, details such as a clean parking lot were noted, and there was a reasonable explanation for the back hall being not as clean as the rest of the place(construction crews recently left and were due back but as I type this I realize ti still could have been cleaner. ) Someone was smoking in one of the rooms and we were assured they would be penialized. We really like and expect the non smoking policy and were upset to see some one break it. But you are dealing with the public....

We currently like BW better than many other chains. Their rewards program is easier to use, actually has rewards like $10 coupons and on not play games with passwords (Comfort Inn :( ). This BW is clean , small, low key and has great staff members who are friendly , competent and hard working.

The hotel was nice, a typical Best Western (even a fancier one than I am used to). However, it was packed when I stayed there. I am not sure why it was so packed but the people staying there were loud, mostly children, and did not care about the other guests. My check in experience was average, front desk staff did their job but certainly did not go out of their way to be friendly or welcoming. The complimentary breakfast was good. I was in a room on the first floor and I could hear the guests in the room above clear as day. I could hear the words they were saying and every foot step. The check out experience was efficient. One of the hotel staff was down the hallway and just shouted that I could leave the room key on the front desk and just leave.

We visit family in Meriden, Connecticut frequently by driving or flying up from North Carolina and we stay at BW every time. We found this four years ago when rooms were filled in Meriden. It turned out to be worth the extra 7-8 minutes to stay there. The breakfasts are always dependable and the rooms always clean, comfortable and well-maintained. The gear round pool and hot tube are a break for the grand kids and a blessing for old grandpa's tired bones. The location is convenient with restaurants and stores a few minutes away.

This is a beautiful hotel. By all rights I expected to give it five stars when I arrived. I debated four, but the fact is I'm here to get a good night's sleep. Our huge room has an extremely firm king mattress with a dip in the middle, which is where my husband ended up. I stayed on my side close to the edge facing out toward the window. Unfortunately the beautiful curtains don't extend beyond the window so there is a several inch gap letting light in first thing in the morning. The Internet has been spotty enough that I just gave up on it and tethered from my phone.

Staff was great. Room met my expectations. My only complaint was that the floor in our room squeaked when you were walking on it. We also could hear the people in the room next door walking around from the squeaky floors.

This hotel is in a convenient location, great hot breakfast (Belgian waffle maker, pastry items, sausage, egg, hash browns and bacon, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, etc), convenient pool hours (6a-11p), fitness room, friendly staff. Definitely a pleasant stay for a night. We were too tired after our business on sunday to drive back to NJ, that we ended up booking another night, since we enjoyed this hotel. Its on a "main" road, but there wasn't any noise bothering us; the second night we had a room facing the rear of the hotel, I didn't notice any difference in sound though. The rooms are nice, clean. Coffee maker, microwave and small fridge in room too! The parking lot is a little small, I'd imagine it being difficult to maneuver a big truck or trailer in there.

We stayed at BW because of the pool and the breakfast. And we were not disappointed. The rest of the hotel was high quality, clean, comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. They want me to lengthen this review so I'll just say I wish this hotel was closer to where I visit my parents in assisted living. LOL...

The lobby is nicer than some Best Westerns, but the actual rooms and bathrooms are just okay. The bathrooms are very small and neither they nor the rooms have been refurbished for quite a long time. The room smelled of old cigarette smoke, although it seemed like they had made some attempt to clean it away. There were a few tiny ants exploring the room, too. Breakfast was fine, but not great. The front desk folks were friendly and polite. It was a reasonably comfortable stay, but I'm left perplexed about why the property earns the Best Western "Plus" label.

Stayed here for business, I was pleasantly surprised with the room. Hotel staff was very pleasant and breakfast was good. Business Suite had a sitting area and microwave/fridge. Approx 10 min to main area with shopping and food.

Newer hotel. Clean. Quiet. A fine place for just stopping through. The gym had a treadmill and cross country machine. There was some sort of bench press machine but no free weights. There is a bowling alley just down the street and a nice liquor store too.

Stayed with my Family and my daughter's friends for her sleepover. Pool area was clean & pool was heated. Kids LOVED IT! The Staff was AMAZING very friendly and helpful! Hotel was CLEAN & EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! EXCELLENT STAY A+ EXPERIENCE!! We will be back

I stayed in the jacuzzi suite with the extra room. It was very clean,comfortable and relaxing. We did not use the pool but we did check it out & it looked very clean & nice other people were using it and looked like they were enjoying themselves. Breakfast was great! They had hot breakfast food not your regular bagels & donuts. Would highly suggest people to stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was clean, nicely furnished and staff were really courteous and kind. I liked the fire place in the lobby. The room was comfortable and housekeeping did a great job. I could even open the window for some fresh air. Breakfast was nice, including eggs, bacon and sausage each morning. Wish the pool had been a little warmer but there was not much else we could ask for in improvements.

Friend and I stayed for a single night visit to see a show. Hotel is new, room was nice, beds were very comfy. Front desk was pleasant. They offer continental breakfast and there is a pool. Great location to get to oakdale theater.

Really nice place!! Everyone really nice rates reasonbable, rooms clean!! 24 hour lobbystocked w/ all kinds of cf sodas hot chic, yogurt crackers all kinds of stuff TV and tables then another room there is couch and chairs if you wantalittlemore relaxing!! The hotel has sauna and pool maids are also pleasant... Rooms l arge not tiny bathroom is roomy too definitely nice and bed is convey!!!!

I drive an extra 20 minutes out of my way to be at this hotel. It is clean and friendly, and has an indoor pool, and decent gym too. Breakfast is always the same as far as I can see but it has a very good variety with Waffle maker, cheese omelettes, sausage patties and bacon and all of the other usual items as well. The price, comfort, cleanliness and friendliness will make it worth my while to stay there whether it is 6 nights or just 2. Thank You Best Western Plus There is nothing that is affordable and clean where I stay so this is the hotel for me! Plenty of granite too... if I could make a wish it would be for better toilet paper, but util then I will bring my own!! I hope this post is helpful. God Bless...

What a pleasant surprise. This hotel is extremely clean and easy to get to (GPS helped a lot), it's easy access to several freeways also. Although you had to drive a few minutes for food, gas, etc. that was fine with me as I was going out and about anyway. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the room size allows you to move around with ease. The shower/tub combination was nice, especially since so many hotels are going to showers only. They have a really nice selection for breakfast (I believe it was available 6-9 am). The room had a microwave and refrigerator which to me are big bonuses when you are staying several nights. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to help you. I found that refreshing.

The Juliet's stayed at Best Western Plus New England October 14 thru October 16 and had a wonderful stay. Lis from hospitality went above and beyond to meet all our needs as we were a bus full of 52 women. From arrival to departure, they far exceeded our expectations. It was truly a pleasure and we hope to be back in the future. Walking through their doors it was like coming home. Kudos, Juliets 2016!!!

Stayed recently for a hockey tournament. Had no choice of hotels, if so would have stayed elsewhere. The hotel is clean, rooms were small, bathroom even smaller. Not great about it. The breakfast was basic. Not alot of options. But it was free.

I walked in to check in & there wasn't anyone behind the desk to check me in so I started to look around and I did see a housekeeper sitting on the couch on her phone, a guest on the computer and another guest tossing a football thru the dining area. I proceeded to wait several minutes, when no one came to check me in I decided that maybe the large green pewter decorative bell on the counter may not be just for decoration and decide to give it a ring. A lady comes out of a back office looking very upset at me for ringing said bell, in as informal as possible she checks me in while maintaining her bored irritated manner. Upon handing me my ID & card back I ask where my room is which apparently is yet another inconvenience for her, I can tell by her deep sigh as she points down a hallway & reaches for the ringing phone. I gather my things from the car & find upon returning is that there is now a teenage boy, minus shoes or socks sitting with his feet on the counter I just had my purse, phone & ID on! Ok, I'm going to go sanitize my things but that is my issue. In order to get down the hall with our belongings the housekeeper was also miffed by me when she had to interrupt her phone call & get up from the couch to move the yellow cart of dirty towels blocking the hallway! So proceeding down the hallway should have gotten easier but the teenage boy decided at this point to hop off of the counter & start running down the hallway while tossing his football, again while I'm trying to get me & my suitcase & my duffel bag & purse to my room! All of this while the front desk person stands by doing & saying nothing! I'm ready to leave, NOW! I shouldn't have to work this hard to get checked in much less get to my room, what am I going to have to do to leave?!

Our 4 day stay with friends was very nice. Good location, reasonable rates, newly remodeled, great staff. Would stay again when visiting area. Best Western usually has everything I need at a great price.

We stayed here while visiting friends and family in the area. The hotel is relatively new and everything worked in the room. The bath towels were the softest and most absorbent. The breakfast included eggs, bacon and sausage choice besides the usual waffles, cereals, toast, yogurt, fruits etc. It was the top rated hotel in Berlin on Trip Advisor and definitely deserved that rating.

We stayed at this BW for a family wedding. It was far less costly than the inn where a block of rooms was reserved for out of town guests and more than adequate. We were only 1/2 hour away from all the wedding events and the sites we wanted to visit - Mark Twain house, etc.

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The hotel, itself, was SPOTLESS! One of the cleanest we have ever seen. The staff was dressed impeccably and very professional. The breakfast was tasty with a wide variety of items. The only drawback was a strange odor in the pool area, but otherwise, EXCELLENT!

we reserved a room here to stay overnight for a game at the New Britain Bees stadium. I will have to say..this hotel was so clean! I usually don't do well staying at hotels as they are dark rooms, however this room was bright, inviting & clean. Breakfast also was good!

Thought the 2 1/2 star rating that we saw online was much too low. I would say 3-4. Room was larger than most, quiet, clean. Grandchildren loved the pool. Breakfast was average with quite a few options.

We have stayed in Best Westerns all across the US and this one has one of the best breakfasts. It is very clean and nice, and very convenient for us when we stay in the Hartford, CT area. We stay in this area often and when we are there we pick this Hotel.

What to say, is still our 2nd night and this aren running smooth! After check in problems and 1h delay. We had our reservation also the paperwork for it, everything, but booking was just not there. Instead of supporting me as dummy costumer I was asked to call booking.com instead. I did so, I called them and thanks for booking.com than at least they understood my situation. What ever 8pm 1h later we checked in. Is not like I was tiered after 6h drive... We finally got our room, first one smelled like someone smoked into the room, good got a new room wasn't that smokie, so I decide to live with it. Because suprise I was tired. Next suprise, Freezer broken. Told it to lady at the front desk to replace. Thank you for the fix, but next time please remove the fluffy mold from the inside, Hotel it self is ok, quiet, comfortable and acceptable breakfast. The tools could be stiffer, so it would be easier to cut things. Our bed doesn't look fresh to me but ok. But after this mess we quit our coming reservations in Best Western. Looks customer don't come first here.

So I have been at this property for the past year and a half roughly once a month for the entire time. they staff is perfect the rooms are clean and the beds are wonderful I am diamond and i achieved that as a result of not staying anywhere but best western due to my experience at this property I know the owner as he is there quite often he addresses me with a respect and knowledge of how important i am to his success this is a kind man ( Gary) and best western is fortunate to have him in their organization

Location on the Berlin Turnpike was convenient to many cities in the surrounding areas. The attentive staff and amenities were welcome after a long day. The room was extremely comfortable but could use some upgrading (linens in particular). Most likely would stay at this location again in the future.

I liked the layout and general experience. Very cozy and would comeback again. As far as the cost per night they have to upgrade on a lot of level because the executive brand holds true to be the same price and more available. They also have to have an internet available to all without hassle.

We stayed here because it was close to TPC River Highlands and we were going to a golf tournament. The location was great, only about a 15 minute drive. The property was very nice and clean, the room was good, very spacious. Everything was in working order. I wish breakfast had started a little earlier than 7am, because we had to leave no later than 7:30 so we were very rushed (we've stayed at other Best Westerns where the breakfast starts at either 5 or 6am.) However the breakfast options were great. Muffins, eggs, bacon, sausages, donuts, waffles, just a really good selection even though we had to eat quickly. My single and only complaint was we had an issue with a travel card we had ordered through Best Western and the night person when we checked in wasn't very friendly, however the morning person that helped us out when we had a separate billing issue was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Have stayed at this hotel several times in the past year. It is our place to stay when visiting friends in Meriden. Breakfast lady is extremely friendly and helpful. She was out of yogurt first day and was so apologetic and promised to have better selection next day. True to her promise, there was plenty next day.

Very clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff; refreshing indoor pool just off the lobby and a nice breakfast room with an excellent choice of food including waffles and small egg and cheese omelets in addition to the usual hot and cold cereals. Internet is free and fast loading. Coffee in the room and in the lobby 24 hrs. I was here for business but I would recommend this for anyone who wants a comfortable nights sleep in this area. When you consider the amenities it is a very good value.

the staff are really nice, the rooms are nice size and clean, the pool was warm and clean, breakfast was awesome the lady taking care of the breakfast area was so nice and sweet. they have nearby restaurants. will be staying with the family again. i will recommend to my family n friends.

At check in there was only one person working the entire hotel. I accidentally double booked my room, but the management was not cooperative in helping out. Breakfast Bar was very minimal, and not restocked.

Reported a problem about my phone not working and nothing was ever done about it. Also reported that the tv at the fitness center wasn't working and nothing was done about it. Breakfast is good. The treadmill at the fitness center wasn't working but I never reported it. Also the AC in the fitness center wasn't working well but I never reported it.

Remodeled. Nice indoor pool. Morning breakfast enough to eat and enough choices for all. Very nice lady handling the whole breakfast area, give her kudos. We had a special Team rate but reasonably priced.

Traveling with a cat. Tried 3 rooms before I found one that didn't smell of cigarette smoke. Staff accommodating helping with this. Rooms are dark, outmoded, dreary (all drab brown and beige) but clean. Usual hot breakfast with eggs, bacon and sausage, not just continental carbohydrates. Very convenient location on Rte. 5 with no noise. Good value for a quick overnight after 12 hours on the road on a road trip with a deadline, but would not pick it for a vacation.

We ended up having to travel to Connecticut to my former home town of Berlin to help my folks out at the last minute in June. We stayed at the Best Western Plus for what turned out to be two weeks as we had to keep extending our stay. The staff was excellent and very helpful, ensuring we didn't have to change rooms through multiple stays. The woman who works in the food services area couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the construction of the hotel! The floors squeak and creak with every step both in the hallways and in the rooms especially on the second floor, and there is NO soundproofing between rooms at all it seems. Also, the queen beds were quite uncomfortable and maybe it's time to upgrade them.

Because of home construction issues had to find a local hotel in a hurry. Front desk reception was excellent. Very professional staff. Warm welcome. Room isn't anything fancy but very clean and quiet. Plentiful towels. Linens clean. It did have a fridge & microwave. Hotel was exceptionally quiet. No noise between rooms or in hallways. Parking is plentiful & convenient. Breakfast was free, serve yourself. Big shout-out to the breakfast attendant for helpfulness. Serve yourself breakfast but attendant was right there ready and willing to help me out with cooking my waffle etc. Not a 5 star hotel but giving 5 stars anyway for super friendly and attentive staff & cleanliness. Very apparent that staff and ownership cares about this facility. I would defiantly stay here again.

I really like Berlin Best Western Plus love my suite my favorite is the Jacuzzi also the second room with a fire place and a second TV. that is also what my husband love about this location. I would recommend Best Western to any of my friends.

we are never disappointed with the quality of service at this best western and have been staying there for several years now whenever we need to be traveling in Connecticut. the staff is knowledgeable, caring and efficient and the room is always clean and ready for us even when we arrive earlier than the normal check in time. the breakfast area and lobby are also well-maintained and kept clean by the pleasant housekeeping staff. amenities such as the indoor pool, fitness center, lobby computer with printer, and the many delicious breakfast items--both hot and cold--offered are a welcoming enjoyment for any weary traveler!!! we never stay anywhere else!!! ,

I stayed at this hotel for one evening two weekends in a row as I dropped my kids off and then picked them up from visiting family. It was a very well maintained hotel. Friendly staff. Nice, clean pool. Good quality breakfast. The woman who attended the breakfast area was very friendly. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the second stay I was on the 2nd floor and the toilet was a little wobbly on the floor, plus the floors were a bit squeaky. My floor squeaked every time someone in the next room walked.

Good place to stay. Convenient location and always clean rooms. Stayed here many times last year and never disappointed. Will book again. Staff very friendly and breakfast lady goes beyond to satisfy.

We checked in last night for a one night stay while visiting family in the area. Facility seemed to be recently renovated. Everything was clean and comfortable. Our Breakfast Host, Ann, helped us grab a bite before we hit the road. Over all nice stay. Didn't use their indoor heated pool, but was tempted. Towels and linens were good quality, shower set-up very nice. Enjoyed the Blue Lobster for dinner - which is up the road.

Fun with my grown daughters and grandchildren! We were involved in a sports tournament and this was a nice break between games to go to pool. Kids loved it. Breakfast was good. They allowed us to check in 1 hour early which gave kids more time to swim

I think the BW Plus is a really nice place for travelers and I do recommend it for visitors to Wesleyan University. It's located around lots of entertainment and food establishments. Best of all, it's priced better than staying on campus! Only 10-15 minute drive to campus!

This hotel was so awesome that we are now thinking of planning a hotel get together every 3 years or so, just so we can all stay under one roof but be able to go downstairs to the breakfast room to share life... Thank you BW+

I spent two weeks here recently on business. The hotel has been upgraded since my last visit. There are no longer any smoking rooms and everything looked fresh and new. The room had a nice LCD TV, fridge, and microwave. Excellent WiFi. There is a decent breakfast buffet. Nights were quiet. You can here a bit of noise from adjoining rooms, but I was blessed with neighbors that were in bed by 10:00pm. There is a clothes washer and dryer on site. I would stay here again.

This hotel is immaculate, updated and welcoming. The rugs in the common areas and rooms are clean, plush and have a modern design. The lobby is large with comfortable couches and a complimentary computer/printer station. The rooms are very clean, furniture is sturdy, modern and of great quality. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The bathroom is a little tight, but there is a large amount of space on the vanity. They offer free breakfast which is abundant in choice and flavorful in quality. You can have your pick from oatmeal, bagels, breads, Danish, make your own waffles, yogurts, fresh fruit, hot eggs, sausage patties, turkey bacon and hard boiled eggs. The breakfast area is clean and spacious, thougH the tables are a bit small if you're a family of four. Best of all, the breakfast host is so friendly, personable and attentive. The pool at this hotel is the perfect size. The area has 12 chairs for those who are supervising or just want to have a rest from swimming. The fitness center has great equipment and is very clean. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone traveling I to the Hartford area. We had a great stay here and wished were able to stay longer just to use the pool and gym.

We had a family wedding to attend and this hotel was right in the middle between our family and the wedding location. It was our second time staying here and we would again if we have another wedding to attend. They had our group all next to each other which worked out well for us. There is so much to see in this area and we enjoyed our trip and stay here. It was good value for the money.

Always a first choice when staying in Connecticut. We enjoy the indoor pool during the spring/summer/fall seasons. It is central to area we travel to. The most important part of the stay is a good night's sleep. Mattresses are perfectly firm.

I wish I could rate this overall excellent, however the pool was main reason I booked the getaway with my daughter. The dehumidifier was broken so the windows were left open. The temperature in the pool area was really chilly and water was also. The staff tried to adjust it, however heating a pool takes a long time! It was a disappointment, as my daughter and I were really looking forward to this part of the stay. There were no children's channels available for her to watch on TV, but everything else was very good.

Helpful staff; had two room king suite with nice fireplace and hot tub; sofa bed not fit for sleeping; closet door didn't work; nice indoor pool big not real big; staff did not seem very anxious to provide pool towels, bin was empty and only brought three or floor each time we asked for towels, the breakfast was good

We stayed for one night with our two dogs. We were very pleased with the overall appearance and comfort of the hotel. Frank at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. He made sure that we understood everything that was available to us at the hotel. The room was comfortable, beds were very comfortable. We were disappointed in the breakfast.

Awesome renovation with an indoor pool. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I use it for my divorce as it close to Middletown. And she took most of my money and I need to be thrifty. I forgot my bathing suit as this is an indoor pool.

The room was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast has plenty of choices and is being improved. All the staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful: especially Sara, Frank, and Maria. Ann does a great job for breakfast and is always pleasant and helpful.

This hotel was booked by a friend for one night while we were at a conference in the area. I was a little apprehensive staying here due to other Best Westerns. I called the hotel before arriving to confirm my reservation. Frank answered and was able to give me the information I needed. Upon arrival I had a conversation with Frank about how I used to Audit at a hotel like he does. He was very polite and let us know about all the accommodations, Recent renovations, Breakfast, and pool hours. The entire stay was pleasant. The breakfast was hot and as good as any other continental breakfasts. The woman attending breakfast, I think her name was Anne, was very polite and happy. She greeted us upon arriving at breakfast and made sure we were full. I will stay here again if in the same area next year.

We recently stayed at the Best Western Plus New England Inn and Suites in Berlin, CT and had a very enjoyable stay. It was very noticeable that this hotel had a new interior. The main desk person shared that it had been renovated about 4 months prior. I personally thought it looked great. I loved the earth tones and choice of décor. They have a lovely lounge area near the front desk with comfortable chairs and sofa as well as a fireplace. The breakfast area was nicely done as well. These areas, as well as the fitness area were all clean and tidy. Our room was very inviting again with the colors and décor. It was clean and tidy and very pleasant. The room had a television, microwave and a refrigerator. The beds were comfortable. The sink in our room happened to be slow, and I mentioned this to the front desk person on the way out., but other than that everything was in good working order. I would definitely stay at this Best Western again, and in fact will plan to do so. Frank, one of the front desk workers who was very friendly and helpful told me that they have a certain number of Jacuzzi suites and that I should try to get one of them next time. As far as the staff goes I have only good to say. Frank was working overnight and he went out of his way to make conversation and share about the property. He was knowledgeable about his job and the property and he helped make this stay very enjoyable. The breakfast server was helpful as well and went out of her way to help me find the ingredients of some of the food items so I could make sure they were free of gluten and dairy. It really was an enjoyable stay.

I was looking for a place to stay close to where my daughter and her band would be playing. After searching and seeing the great reviews and how close to the venue, I booked my room online. Check in was easy and our room convenient to the front door. Large ,comfortable room. A microwave and fridge along with a coffee maker made the room. Easy checkout, clean, quiet and comfortable.

Friendly front desk employees. Gave great tips when asked were the locals go to eat and to visit the best beach area not the typical tourist area. And they were a wealth of great information. Our room was clean and the bed was great. Will stay here again when in the area for business.

The location was near a friends house and the accommodations were comfortable and clean. Everything was as expected, but the staff at front desk and breakfast was exceptionally nice and made this stay better.

It town on Business. This place is a gem. It is very clean. The service is great. Lots of parking. I needed a early check in and front desk went above and beyond to accommodate. I received solid advice on local restaurants. Great value for your dollar. I will be a regular.

Possibly the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. I am staying at the Best Western for a long term business project. Employees are incredibly polite, courteous and willing to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

We were in town for a baby shower, we booked here because the price was right. The room was a double included free breakfast and they offer a indoor heated pool. We checked in early Friday evening when I walked through the front door Kiley greeted me with a big smile. She was the most pleasant person I have encountered at hotel in a long time. There was not one time when we were in the area of the front desk that she was not smiling, she was professional and courteous, she was kind and helpful. I can not say enough good things about her, she is a keeper. Her smile is contagious it is refreshing. If more hotels had staff like this the world would be a better place. Thank you for making our weekend relaxing!

3.5/5 We were visiting the area for college visits. We checked in at midnight, and were given a second-floor, two-queen room with a rollaway bed for a fifth person. Room was spacious and had microwave & fridge. We had asked for a non-smoking room. We immediately ran into three problems: (1) The entire second floor was reeking of smoke, possibly weed, and the smell entered our room when we opened the door. (2) The bathroom door would not lock, or even stay closed when you pushed it. (3) The rollaway bed had springs poking out. Even though we were tired from our drive, I had to get these problems addressed. Luckily, the gentleman at the front desk (Daniel? Deneel?) was very helpful. He gave us a complimentary, spacious, king room in addition to the room we already had. This solved the sleeping arrangement issue; my wife and I moved to this room and had the bathroom to ourselves, while the daughters and grandma stayed in the 2-queen room. The morning staff also allowed us to check out an hour late due to the time wasted the night before. Unfortunately, the smoking issue could not be fixed since a few rooms on the other end of the second floor were designated smoking rooms. That is one stupid situation the hotel needs to fix. I have never heard of mixing non-smoking and smoking on the same floor. Even Motel 6 doesn't do this. However, I am glad that a quick-thinking staffmember did his best to satisfy his customers under the circumstances. That's why I am giving the property a 3 out of 5. (I would give it a 3.5, if I could.)

as usual we enjoyed another familiar, welcoming stay--from the chocolate chip cookies at checkin with Sarah's smile to the delicious breakfast enjoyed in the dining area kept clean and well-stocked by Annie to the saddest part-checking out with Jason--its always a good time here!!!

I was very happy with my stay at Best Western Plus New England Inn & Suites Berlin, CT. I had earned enough reward pts. to stay at this Best Western for $10. It was a lovely place and everyone was very accommodating.

Luv this hotel never had any issues. My husband and I travel a lot so we stay at a lot of hotels there was a time we stayed in this hotel for 3 weeks always left clean towels and bed sheets for us out side our door and asked if we needed anything else. The pool was awsome very warm and a pleasure to be in. One morning I went to get breakfast all the bacon was gone so the lady made me bacon and eggs even though it was almost time to end breakfast. Never had one problem we will return here as well.

Elevator and halls stunk I have asthma Have nothing more to say If you have allergys STAY AWAY There is nothing more to say except the place stunk Have stayed at other best westerns have collected and used over 100,000 points and never had this problem before

going to a venue in Middletown ct. this was the closest hotel. when i booked online they only had a king size bed with a sofa bed available. booked it. when i checked in kyley asked if i wanted one bed or two. i said two. we got it. everything was really nice. no complaints.

The beds are uncomfortable, the maids dont clean, hardly give you new towels, tub and sink didnt drain, cigarette smoke comes down the hall and into my room, loud kids running up and down hallway at midnight, bed was dirty, bugs in my room

This hotel was ok. I didn't like the pillows they were lumpy and had a musty smell. They were a little uncomfortable. The breakfast was good but the juice was watered down. It was convenient for us since we were visiting the Berlin area.

Down side- Tv screen very dirty, hair clumps from prior guest on bathroom floor, dirty wash cloth left on shower curtain rod from prior guest. Room & hallway had an odor musty? Required to drive a few miles to find a meal. Up side- Room was quiet, good parking

I was very pleased staying at the hotel. food is good and the lady working there is very helpful. she does a wonderful job bringing and keeping up with the food. desk people are very polite and helpful. the housekeepers are very efficient I have to remember more names for these surveys they should get rewarded for doing their jobs so well. I've tried 2 of the hotels close by and they were nice there but your workers are heads above them.

We stayed here for the weekend and went to Brownstone for water fun and zip lining in nearby Portland. We arrived and were greeted by staff at desk who were very helpful with everything. When we went to our non-smoking room we were greeted with the smell of cigarettes as soon as we opened the door. We informed the desk and were moved to another room across the hall that was acceptable. Later on after dinner when we returned to the room we wanted to relax and watch TV but to our dismay the cable was out. We went to the desk and after trying many solutions for the problem we could not get cable back on and they asked if we wanted to switch rooms again but first I tried TV to see if that room had working cable which it didn't either. When we went back to desk girl said this seems to happen every Fri. nite. So she asked if we want to move upstairs to another room which I checked and somehow had cable. Now we had to pack up and move our stuff again which now it was 10:30pm. Was kind of frustrating. This room was fine only thing it was upstairs where there is smoking allowed and my son and I were greeted as we got off the elevator after swimming by the sounds of a couple having a good time not caring that everyone in the hall could hear them but it all worked out. Great thing is that the pool is open til 12:00am but is pretty small and the breakfast was pretty good. Lots of places to shop at and do on the turnpike.

I rented meeting space for a business retreat. Front desk staff were prepared for us and everything was as promised. The customer service was excellent and the cost very reasonable. I would highly suggest this property for travel or meeting space.
