Hotel is located slightly outside the busy area of the golden temple . It's quiet and calm surroundings Hotel staff and reception are very helpful , they helped us organise a cab to visit the wagha border and golden temple for a reasonable price . We were even lucky to get 2 hour extension on our check out because we had a departure at 6pm Buffet breakfast was very good , planner kulacha and aloo poori was good with other standard options like eggs and toast.

We recently stayed at the Best Western Merrion and were thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. Prior to staying I booked directly with the hotel and liaised with a senior front desk member ‘Kripa Thakur', as I needed accommodation for a party of 10 which proved to be tricky. We thrashed out a deal with some tough negotiation and all parties were happy. I was nervous as I usually use platforms such as Booking.com and had not visited India in over 13 years, we exchanged messages and had regular phone calls back and forth which proved to be worth it in the end. When using various platforms I found it hard to find various options for rooms and hence booking direct allowed me to iron out any confusion with regard to my party size. We arrived late at night to Amritsar circa 11.30pm but the service was first class, check in efficient and very welcoming. Over the course of our 4-day stay which included breakfast. There was always a hearty and plentiful choices with great service. We dined at the restaurant too for an evening meal which was very good. During our stay one of our executive rooms was upgraded to a royal room which had great views and ample space, this complimentary touch was very much appreciated as this catered for a typical family of 4. The hotel maintained a high standard of cleanliness throughout, from the rooms to the common areas, which were nicely decorated during Diwali. Our kids wanted to use the rooftop pool which was conveniently cleaned before use upon request. Beds made up and room cleaned daily too, hotel felt very safe and all staff members were eager to help. Its convenient location made it easy to access nearby attractions and business destinations. We frequently used Uber to and from the hotel. Kripa also arranged several hotel taxis when required and helped sort out my network coverage (e-sim) during the stay, another example of his above and beyond service. A couple of minor issues regarding sound when there are parties you can hear loud music but that's expected. Breakfast choices could be slightly changed ie a few more western selections for kids but I'm happy as it made my kids eat and try new things! Most notably, the staff were courteous, professional, and always willing to assist, making my stay exceptionally comfortable. Once again special mention to Kripa, thanks for the Diwali gift you made my stay and restored my faith in booking direct too! A real credit to the hotel. I would highly recommend the Best Western Merrion to both business and leisure travellers. We visited 3 other hotels during our 14 day trip to Punjab/Delhi and found this hotel to be the best!

I am travelling since past 30 years but have never such a terrible experience. The man at front desk named Satbinder Bir was highly rude and disrespectful. You can see his face and body language, very rude and never greets anytime you call him or meet him. We did online booking for one night for 3 guests, full payment was done online even then he charged us ₹1000 for our daughter who was already included at time of booking and was already paid. Though we had booked the accommodation with breakfast but he was asking another ₹1000 for breakfast of third person which was already paid. Finally I decided to skip the breakfast to allow my daughter and wife to have breakfast. They also came out after 10 minutes as it was one of the worst breakfast spread. I hope that best western will take action against such franchise and their staff who are putting blot on international brand of Best western.

We are a group of senior citizens and had booked 12 rooms and all was very happy. Everything was very well arranged from the start. Mr. Kripa Thakur front office manager and his team took great care of us and went above and beyond our expectations. breakfast was very nice and the staff were polite and helpful. We stayed in ( double-bedded) Room No 310 for 2 days. What impressed me most was the huge space available in the room. Even after laying of the extra bed for our child, there was a lot of space left in the room with large storage facilities. Our room offered good city view ( which I believe, is available from most of their rooms). The property is conveniently located , easily accessible for your own vehicle. They have ample parking space within the premises with the valet parking facility. Transit to Golden Temple takes around 12-14 mts by rickshaw. The food was super-tasty. The bath-room was spacious, well equipped with showers, bath-tub, large glass mirrors, hair drier, toiletries, bath-robe and bath/hand towels. At the end of the day, the tariff they charge doesn't pinch you at all - a value for money hotel, I'd say.

Nice and clean hotel in a good area. Rooms are big. Staff was very helpful and polite. We had breakfast and dinner here as well. There are many options in food and everything tasted good. We had food restrictions that they honored. Quick service.
