Theres a gentleman who works at the front desk. I didnt bother to get his name since everything we said or asked him he acted like he was being held hostage. He never smiled or showed any emotion besides constant disgust. He harassed my partner for changing his shoes on the bench out front, (outside) and for using the restroom in the lobby area saying "if youre not a guest here you need to leave the premises" and that right there immediately helped us make up our mind that we indeed DID NOT want to stay there. This gentleman should not be working the front desk if he doesnt want to work around people. (This gentleman had spiky blonde hair, was very monotone and rude when speaking directly to anyone). Pretty sure the bench outside is for anyone to sit on not just current guests in the hotel, and if they don't want people using a PUBLIC restroom maybe they should just lock the doors to the lobby restrooms.
Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Only one washer/dryer and was closed for repairs when we stayed.
Awesomeness very good breakfast
Recently updated, very fresh and clean. Inches from I-5, earplugs at bedside helopa lot with road noise. Pretty handy to 2 major roadways. I-5 and 217 which takes you to Beaverton area and up to Hwy 26bthat goes out to the coast. For convenience we would stay here again.
The room was great, actually one of the best I experienced. The staff was great. Breakfast was OK for me but I don't eat breakfast. If you are breakfast lovers it will be very disappointing experience. There is no real security. The guys from the front desk are sometimes in the back room so everyone can come in. I didn't feel safe enough to leave my laptop in the room so I had to carry it all the time. The worst is the noise 24/7 noisy. Very noisy. So noisy that they put earplugs in the room. This must be stated in the hotel advertisement. If I knew it in advance I wouldn't book with them.
I''m a frequent guest of Best Western, Lake Oswego & consider it a gem of a property. The friendly, well-trained staff brings me back again & again. Love the warm indoor pool & fitness center & newly upgraded rooms. They do a nice breakfast as well & suites are fairly priced.
Great hotel, it's a safe area and I felt comfortable parking my car. Very nice clean room and comfortable bed. The hot tub is nice and hot.
Centrally located hotel w easy access to the freeway, which did mean there was highway noise. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast provided multiple options.
Room was large and spotlessly clean, staff very pleasant and helpful. The only problem was September 6 (between 3 and 4) person did not want to be bothered taking a reservation (She cut me off twice).
This is a great little hotel. The rooms are clean, the bed's are comfortable, and the breakfast is very good. They also have free WiFi and free parking, which is always a plus. Just be aware that this hotel is right next to a freeway, so you can hear some road noise in some of the rooms. We asked to be moved, and the hotel manager was extremely helpful and got us into a quieter room, and we had a great sleep. The whole experience was positive and we would stay here again.
We love Best Western but won't stay at this location again. The highway noise was impossible to ignore and the 4th floor hallway reeked of a terrible odor. Minimal staff so the front desk isn't staffed to answer questions or even check out with. A disappointing stay.
Beautifully located off I-5, this hotel is efficient, clean, and basic. Certainly a good choice for people passing through Portland. Kids will enjoy the pool and hot tub.
This is my second time staying at the Best Western near Lake Oswego and despite its convenience, while visiting family in the area, I'm not sure I'll return for a third time. The pros are abundant. It's directly off the freeway, and a short 10 minute drive to Lake Oswego near Portland. There's ample food opportunities, both chain restaurants and local eateries. The hotel is clean. And they offer a free, better than most, continental breakfast. There's also an onsite laundry and pool but I've never utilized either. For the most part, the staff is also friendly. However, during my first stay, last year over the 4th of July weekend, my wife and I were forced to relocate rooms. Portland was experiencing a heat wave and unfortunately the AC unit in our room was not working. The room our first night was unbearably hot. However, after alerting the staff, maintenance was sent almost immediately and the AC unit was deemed beyond repair so we were relocated to a comparable room. The rest of the stay went well and the staff was beyond accommodating. We were excited to return there for 4th of July this year. This year was an entirely different story. Our check-in was abrupt if not outright rude. We were caught off guard as the staff the previous year was above and beyond kind and accommodating. We shook it off, excited for our stay and 4th of July. The room was clean as always, our first night went well and breakfast the next morning went as expected. Our room was located on the first floor next to breakfast, directly across from the indoor pool. This is important later. We finished breakfast, left a “HOUSEKEEPING PLEASE” placard on our door and went about our day. Upon our return at 3:30 we were saddened to find our room had been neglected entirely. No housekeeping services. My father went to the front desk to request additional soap and towels and while doing so specifically requested housekeeping services the following day. Night two finished off as expected without issue, however at midnight I heard some commotion from the pool area and came out to find a group of 6-8 teenage boys and two mothers at the pool. I myself politely asked them to please keep it down and they did. That was that. Our next day, again, breakfast was great. We left our placard on the door requesting housekeeping. But once again, upon our return, no housekeeping services whatsoever. Our trash bins were overflowing and I had to empty them myself in the hotel lobby trash can. Again, I requested fresh towels and soaps and mentioned the housekeeping to the front desk. I also asked to speak to a manager but it being 4th of July, he of course was on vacation. I wish that was the end of it but no. At 11:30 PM I was awoken yet again to doors slamming and loud noises at the pool area. A family of no less than 12 were yelling, screaming, laughing and splashing around and in the pool. Mind you, the pool closes at 10PM. I immediately went to the front desk staff this time and after 5 minutes of ringing the bell, I finally just decided to knock on the office door. Another two minutes later, the same worker that checked us in, rather irate, said “I'm doing my job! How can I help you.” I informed him of the situation. Expressed my displeasure. He said it'd be fixed and he'd handle it. I returned to my room and approximately 15-20 minutes later, so just before midnight, more door slamming, more loud voices and stomping in the hallway, then quiet. I finally fell back asleep. The last breakfast and morning were fine. We left today, unsure if we're going to return and seriously wishing I could've spoken to a manager about my experience.
The staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was a full meal from bagels, waffles to breakfast meats & biscuits & gravy. The children under 17 stays free with a paying adult is a game changer! I recommend this hotel for families!
Nice, clean hotel rooms. Fresh, comfortable beds. We took advantage of the hot tub and pool. The breakfast service was fantastic. Hot and cold choices. My son loves the waffle bar. We had to stop along I-5 and knew that Lake Oswego would be a safe place to stay.
Arrive at 10 PM or even later, and the jacuzzi hot tub is waiting to relax you into a good night's sleep. Wake up to a free-weights workout, elliptical, or treadmill while watching the news, followed maybe by a swim in the indoor pool, and then a hearty breakfast. Despite the hotel being near the highway, the room was silent and the AC brought the room to the perfect sleep temperature. I like staying south of Portland when heading south and we encountered no traffic on our way down I5 in the morning.
This hotel was clean, near a lot of amenities and restaurants, and was a great price. Certain rooms, like ours, got noisy with the highway traffic so if you can, choose a room that isn't on the highway side. Overall a good stay, especially being close to Portland but far enough out where you can walk around town and its quieter.
The bed is so comfortable, the pillows were fluffy and the service was outstanding! Anna was the one that checked us in and out. She was cheerful and kind at all times! We could not give this place a better rating than it deserves as it only goes to a five and they deserve so much more than that. The breakfast was also great and I don't want to forget the housekeeping staff as they went above and beyond as well. It's a family feel and it's close to everything! Highly recommend!
Poor service, Breakfast supplies were out, breakfast dining room was filthy and never cleaned from previous day, stayed 3 nights and requested room service twice but never received it. Elevator is dangerous as the door doesn't stop if something is in the way when closing.
The freeway noise can be bothersome to some people. I would not recommend the location if you are sensitive to noises. Our blinds were broken and it took a while for someone to fix it because there was only 1 person working at night.
Our first room had a warm refrigerator and after changing rooms, that refrigerator was not cool enough for safe food storage. We had to pull refrigerator out from its cabinet to adjust the temp. It was very slow to cool and was finally in a safe range 24 hours later, the morning we checked out. Both mornings of our stay, there was no fruit or yogurt at breakfast (small supply of breads) and were told it is a "supplier issue." We suggested a quick 10 min trip to Costco for a bag of fruit and a case of individual yogurts but nothing done to address it as the second morning had the same problem. Stairwell carpeted stairs are very dirty and had litter. The elevator needs repair service as the loud, piercing noise when in operation is horrible.
Struggling hotel with very poor or untrained staff. The new GM has no obvious customer service skills or professionalism whos only line is "We are under new management, things have changed". Staff unable to make reservations over phone due to lack of training. Called 4 times to book a 3 night stay, first call no answer, second the guy could not get the computer to work, the third he said he could not log in but to come in they had vacancy. At desk check in I was informed my BW Account would not qualify for current promo 2 night get 1 and I would not get points , booked 3 nights and they carged my CC. Prepaid the 3 nights and a deposit. On our check out day I called down to the front desk to extend our stay due to a medical situation. The man on phone then told me he did not know if we were alowed to stay another night and he would need to call us back. About 30 min later the phone rings and the front desk worker demands we come down with another CC. We asked him to use the card on file as we have always done any extension that way previously. He said no I needed to come down to the desk to slide my new card or check out. When arriving at the front desk I was greated by a very young man in street clothes, I asked to speak to the manager and the rude man who I had been speaking to was him the GM. He said it was his first day and they were under new managment and if I did not like it to check out. Not being able to physically travel I had very little options but to comply to his request. He was completely unwilling to bill it to the CC on file regardless of its credit limit or it being my business CC. His demand of an addition credit card when extending our stay by a night due to my illness left me feeling like a criminal accused of stealing my own Easter Vacation with my family. About the property Beautiful rooms newly remodeled and 7.5 out of 10 clean. Facilities are broken and/or worn down, elevator is wonky and stalls, the hot tub is ice cold or boiling hot, the pool is freezing cold, and the towels are missing and piled high in the dirty bin. The basement is filthy with stuff stacked all over the hall ways. Guest washer and dryer are usable, cheap, but from the 80's when the hotel was originally built. The laundry room was filthy and garbage overflowing all over the room. Breakfast is a joke, waterdowned juice, stale breads, generic fake spreds, poor produce and no fruit, very few items, cold egg patties, dry decimated beacon, and what may have been fried potatos were all cold and gross, coffee empty , no hot water, no milk. Not a value just words, skip it go through a drive through. I have stayed at this hotel 5 times all multiple night stays due to its convenience to the business I have in the city totally 14 nights and ibalways have my kids and husband in tow. We are very understanding and patient people but we will NEVER EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN! GIVEN THE COMPETITION IN THE LOCAL MARKET CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL.
An unplanned overnight for me, this BW was convenient. Only downside I would say is parking. Not a lot of space around this hotel, but no complaints anywhere else. Room seemed freshly remodeled and clean, comfy bed and pillows. Shower good. Hotel coffee is what it is. Walls may be a tad thin but I slept good.

Bryan on night audit was the best! He went above and beyond to make our stay great. He helped get us extended a night. When I left the car running, he found us and got it taken care of fast. Thank you Bryan! I'll return to that property because of you.
Hello, thank you for your kind words about our staff member Bryan. His good deed will be recognized. Thank you for staying with us and we appreciate you taking the time to fill out this survey. Happy travels
This has been a very pleasant experience and surprisingly comfortable stay overall. In my line of work dealing with the other people's problems takes a lot of me. Coming back to an almost home like environment is so comforting.

I travel every year to Portland for my birthday to see my grandchildren. This time I traveled with my youngest son and we stayed twice at a best western. It was a great experience with a wonderful staff.
Hi Howeclan907, We are glad you enjoyed your birthday at our hotel and that our staff provided you with good service and we hope to see you again.
Nice staff, affordable and accommodating. Nice rooms , comfortable beds and pet friendly. I would stay here again.Safe area close to restaurants, coffee, gas and other businesses. Parking lot was a little tight and small but manageable.

Manager on duty competent & helpful. Beautiful King Suite with very special bed, reasonably priced & dog friendly. Had refrigerator, coffee & tea included. Felt comfortable & safe. Extra blankets provided. Great breakfast & snack bar. Military discount applied. Lost power during storm, this was a nice warm island in a sea of coldness.

There was nothing "Plus" about this room, although bedding, mattress and heat were excellent. Like many in the hotel, we were there because the temperatures in the house were approaching the freezing temperatures outside. The small gym: like much of the property, shabby. There were some paper towels and a couple of bottles of water, but no way to clean equipment, not one clean towel, and the treadmills made loud and crunching noises. A clean gym towel or some cleaning product would have made it adequate. The pool looked great, as did the jacuzzi, but pool towels were not available, even after requesting them. Breakfast: This was up to standard. Although these hotel chains don't do anything spectacular, they do provide a considerable variety of food choices, and there is something to match everyone's taste. Moreover, this dining area offers normal seating and high tables for those who prefer them. A (probably expensive) lobby sign notes that guests should be kind to the employees who could show up to work. There were definitely few employees, and the woman who worked all of our day of arrival was trapped interminably by a lonely guest who poured their heart out about some personal problem as I waited a chance to ask for a gym towel. Coincidentally, on check-out, the cheerful morning employee was cornered by a guest in front of me, checking out while telling the story of the stay and details of the cat that accompanied them. Maybe the management could just hire more workers to avoid weak service during unanticipated urgencies such as the weather that drove us to this property. Lower profits, yes, but higher ratings!
Hi, we appreciate you taking the time to rate and review us. We want to apologize for the impression of staff shortages. Due to the weather much of our staff was unable to make it in to work. We are glad you found the beds and heat comfortable and hope you will consider us again.
It was very good experience staying at Best Western. Clean and quiet hotel. Portland downtown 15 minutes drive from hotel. Breakfast was awesome, room was clean. Front staff lady was so nice and helpful. I would like stay again.

Our hotel room was really comfortable, newly appointed, great bedding, very clean and quiet - location was super convenient to visiting our family in Lake Oswego, and super convenient to great shopping and restaurants in lake Oswego, as well as convenient to I-5. Every staff person we interacted with were kind, helpful and patient. Pool, hot tub and gym were functional, a big plus!
Hello, we appreciate you taking your time to complete this survey and provide your feedback. We are thrilled to know that you enjoyed your stay with us and found our hotel convenient for your lodging needs. Thank you for choosing our Best Western and we hope to see you again.
The front desk staff were all so smiling and friendly and eager to be helpful. They gave a friendly greeting when everI passed through the lobby. The water pressure in the shower was amazing, I really enjoyed showering after a delicious breakfast. The cable offered in the room was vast with so many channels to choose from, we relaxed and watched some movies. We had such a relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable stay; Thank you very much we had a great time it went by way too fast.
My room (single king) ruled. Staff was super polite & helpful & Brian the night clerk was super friendly & made sure my kids had some food before we headed out to the airport at 5 AM for a six hour flight. Thank you Brian!
Terrible experience. On August 7, we booked 2 rooms for 5 people. We booked this location for the pool - of course our kids were were looking forward to swimming. We arrived on August 20 for our stay, and a note was attached to the front desk - pool closed. I asked the employee at the front desk what happened and she mentioned that there were some issues with the pump that happened more than a few weeks ago (I made sure to find out the pool closure started prior to my booking). Here were the choices given: 1) cancel with full refund and find a new hotel room or 2) stay the night. With two kids in tow after a road trip, who has the energy to find a hotel with a pool at a reasonable rate for that evening? No other options were given. Once they knew of the pool closure, Best Western should have listed this on the website at the time of booking. At least, they should have called or sent a mass email about the weeks-long pool closure. This would have given us a reasonable chance to book elsewhere. The next morning, my mother-in-law and I were awake with my youngest kid and we were the first people in for breakfast. The place was filthy. Old food was on the table tops. My mother-in-law let the staff know, and they handed her a washcloth and cleaning spray bottle. Yes, my mother-in-law cleaned the tables. Of note, the only fruit available for breakfast - 5 oranges. My wife came down an hour and a half later with our other kid, and the only thing left for breakfast was waffle batter and oatmeal. I wasn't expecting luxury, but I was expecting a pool and some semblance of cleanliness. I would recommend staying elsewhere.

We arrived in afternoon and found front desk was not staffed. We, along with several others, waited 45 minutes for someone to arrive. Only had one set of towels, and the front desk could not supply more towels. We ended up going our and purchasing towels so we would have enough. The two large trash cans near the entrance were overflowing with trash our entire two day stay. I think the employees were doing their best, however the hotel was understaffed and appeared to be very poorly managed. I certainly will never go here again, and will likely consider totally avoiding Best Western. We travel frequently and have never encountered anything like this. To aggravate the service here, there was a sign that said "The World" was suffering from short staffing and we should just be glad that any employees show up to help us.
