Resumen de la reserva
The location is great and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, the facility is tired and well worn and in much need of a remodel which is starting September 2024. The first room we were given, the carpet was very dirty and the room smelled old, not musty, but old like an old house or building. We asked for another room and the helpful and friendly staff gave us a couple other options. The carpets were dirty but the room we selected didn't smell as strongly as the other. It got better when we opened the sliding glass door to our balcony. Internet was OK but slow sometimes and it didn't reach out onto the balcony. The place was pretty quiet even though there was bridge construction going on at the nearby interstate bridge. The beds were fine. All the other furniture in both rooms was well worn and in need of replacement. In looking at reviews as we considered other places to stay in Oregon City, they were no better and this had a nice view of the river. To me it seems as if the area is just tired and this was the best we could do.
Shabby, in terrible need of an overhaul. Partially river view , no, just construction with a lot of cranes.. $7 credit on a $27 breakfast!!! No notification of doing a remodel prior to booking. It's overpriced in its present condition and beneath Best Western standards.
Clean room with good shower, microwave, mini fridge and decent AC/heat. Nice view of the river across the street. A $7 breakfast coupon was a little unique, but the $10 breakfast sandwich (as of Sept, 2024) was excellent with good hash browns. Noise was a bit of a problem from traffic, the hall, upstairs and next door.
Disappointed. No idea how they decided to call it a Plus except maybe the price. We always thought that Plus hotels would always be pretty nice but no longer. Very noisy room. Could hear thumping noises all night long Tiny elevator with long wait. Pool was out of service. River view window was very dirty.
I paid $163 for initial night (Sat.) I assumed, incorrectly, that this relatively high price would include a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast. Instead, only a $7 breakfast coupon was provided for the onsite restaurant. Check-in office feels isolated from the elevator and rooms. This is not a welcoming-lobby arrangement that the guest passes through each time s/he enters and leaves the building. Elevator doors open to the parking lot, in glass shelters. OK during the day but made me feel uneasy at night. Hallways and rooms are rather dark, not light and bright. Maybe the upcoming remodel will resolve these issues, which bothered me as a solo female traveler. I chose to move to another hotel.
real comfortable mattress and the room was so clean I thought it had been remodeled. Pleas dont require 200 words. If that is not possibe, please dont ask for my input. Ill say it again, plwAE DONT PRESS THE ISSUE. Please dont ask me an questions in the future.
The Rooms are VERY Outdated and Old. Carpets are worn and dirty not to mention old drapes hung …, We have a river view with an old creepy van across the street that didn't move from there but also had 2 more visitors by the time we woke up. Restaurant was ok… view is the nicest thing but definitely not worth the prices. Kinda disappointed for the price and would not recommend this place
This is first rate hotel adjacent to the river. I have stayed here many times when visiting family. The rooms are comfortable, all have views of the river, top notch bedding and very clean. The staff are very welcoming and helpful and appreciate the daily $7 discount coupon for breakfast in the restaurant.
This hotel was great! I had a reservation at a pdx hotel which was reserved with a 3rd party. We got to Portland around midnight and the pdx hotel didn't have our reservation! Every hotel in the area was booked, and I was in an area I had never been to before. I called Best Western Rivershore and the gentleman who works overnight was very helpful. It's a short 15 minute drive from pdx and was a great stop before making our way south. The beds are comfortable, rooms are clean, and we felt safe in an unknown city. Would recommend for overnight stays. We stayed again before our flight home. A quick drive to pdx.
We came to visit friends and wanted to stay close to them. This was the closest hotel and came with a couple local recommendations. Honestly, for what we paid a night, this was disappointing to say the least. We paid $235 a night and came to a room with a couple items left behind from previous guests. The room was small and outdated and the elevator had some pads duct-taped up. When we came back to the room for our second night, our dirty glasses from the previous day were still on the dresser and were not cleaned up, although housekeeping had obviously been in the room that day. The following morning, I found that no additional coffee pods were in our coffee station. When I called the front desk to ask for more, I was very nicely told that they didn't have anyone to bring them up to me but had plenty there if I came down to get them. I feel that for what we paid, this was well below my expectations.
The hotel suited my needs with a helpful friendly and (should go without saying, but these days . . .) normal staff.
The room was not up to best western's standards, I am questioning the value of the hotel and will probably look for another in that area.
We booked room using points. The man who checked us in told us they were giving us a quiet room. Beyond deck was very LOUD bridge construction & a freeway. Horrible view, very dirty carpet, very small old creepy room, door barely clears the wall
While visiting family nearby, I stayed at the Rivershore for two nights. The hotel is located on a small road across the river. My room was huge, the bathroom was good-sized, and there was a balcony with views of the river. Very quiet at night! The reception staff were super friendly and helpful; one staff member helped me sort out the foreign currency payment and identification situation, making the check-in and check-out process smooth and easy. I will stay here again. My room was on the third floor, at a good distance from the elevator and stairs. There are plenty of parking spaces and large parking bays.
We needed a room for two nights at last minute because of a sudden change in plans. We were able to find the perfect room here. The staff was very helpful. The attached restaurant was a nice bonus.
Seems like a lot of folks use this hotel for long term housing. There were loud folks coming and going all night/so much door slamming. The hotel is undergoing remodeling and provided ear plugs but those were not enough to drown out the insanity. Installation of soft close hinges on guest room doors would go a long way to helping with this. Great location and nice friendly front desk staff.
Stayed one night, construction going on which is needed, parking is tight so check in early, restaurant had delicious food and good service but loud!
The overall experience was great I will stay again when I come back for work. The fitness center had a few things that were out of order or not working. The treadmill and half the weights were out of order.
Super friendly night hotel manager. Wonderful person at the front desk. Clean, nice, reasonably priced accommodations. I had no reservation . I was able to get a room. Security for the elevator was awesome. Next to or actually connected was a restaurant and bar. I was given 2 coupons for the restaurant. I used the coupons for morning breakfast. The food and service was excellent. When I arrived at the hotel I went to the bar and had a drink. Great service! Wonderful drink. Overall the room was very clean. The television channels were great. The WiFi worked wonderful. Thank you
In the middle of a days-long ice storm that closed roads and businesses, the friendly and professional staff provided seamless and exceptional service. Rooms are clean and comfortable, parking convenient, location excellent with some very good locally recommended restaurants nearby.
I had an unplanned stay due to a friend being in the hospital. The staff is absolutely great and my room overlooked the river. The room is large and comfortable and i liked the robe in the closet - very comfortable. Oh, and the bed was so comfy I was able to catch up on lost sleep.
I LOVE the location of this hotel — all river views, parks and walking trails right behind it, dining and shopping across the street. The desk staff are gems However, it is musty and dirty. This great facility deserves some TLC
Our daughter and son-in-law live in Oregon City. They recently has a child and we lost our room to him. So, we have stayed at the BWP in OC for 13 days on three separate trips this year. We are used to traveling. This year we spent 3 weeks in Australia and New Zealand....and one week at the Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki. All properties we stayed at were high-end hotels. While not on par with BWP, we totally enjoyed our stays as the rooms were exceptionally clean and everything was in good working order on our three visits. I did not expect that from a BWP. A telling observation about the cleanliness is walking down the stairway from the 4th floor....instead of waiting for the elevator. I have never seen a cleaner area. More stairways are cold and not kept up. BWP OC's stairway is carpeted and clean!!!! They take pride in keeping the property up to date and clean!!! So, they are clean and consistent. What else can you ask for? Only issue is with guests who do not care to be quiet before 8 in the morning or after 9 in the evening. But that is not the hotel's fault. It's just rude people who don't care about anyone else but themselves. But, you get that elsewhere as well.
We have been staying at this hotel for 25+ years the night before we fly out of Portland. We love that it has a restaurant,, bar, pool (not heated), and hot tub. Staff always have a smile and helpful.
It's OK for a short stay, but we stayed here 3 nights in late June and were very disappointed. Until Oregon City's Best Western, I've never had an unpleasant stay at any Best Western in either the U.S. or Europe…so…has Best Western dropped its reliably high standards for quality? We had a riverside-view room. Pros: Great location with quick access to I-205 and downtown Oregon City, peaceful walking-paths along the Willamette River, and shops (Starbucks, etc) across the street. Our upper floor room had a nice view of the tree-lined river, with no street noise. The restaurant was good enough for breakfast and dinner. Parking is free and ample. Desk staff was pleasant and capable. Rooms have good mirrors, coffee machine, hair dryer, iron/board, lots of drawer space. Cons: The hotel needs maintenance! In our room the sliding glass door would not lock, the carpet was old and either needs replacing or cleaning, and the guest next door repeatedly woke us up with his snoring, sneezing, and making morning phone calls. Other reviews mention the lumpy pillows – the pillows actually are lumpy! The elevator is very slow. Family members who stayed down the hall had similar poor impressions. The assistant manager replied to one reviewer that the hotel's facelift has recently begun, so if you stay here, reserve an upper floor room with river view and call the hotel to ask for a room that's been recently updated.
Don't expect a breakfast unless you pay high prices. No room service unless you specifically request it. The bar was fine and the staff there was top-notch. No complaints. The hot tub was good. Parking is plentiful. Probably the worst BW Plus I've stayed in, and there have been many over the years.
Car was broken into while in the covered car port ( as was the car next to mine). The management knows about this. they have a big problem with homeless people. They don't tell you for fear you will not stay and you should not. This used to be my most favorite Best Western in Portland, stayed here for weeks on end in the past. NEVER AGAIN.! Damage was in the 1000s
Hotel in decent location along the river, and close to the 205. Nearby amenities include a nice park, McDonald's, Starbucks and RiteAid. Check in was quick and the staff were helpful. The facilities are clean, but definitely a bit dated and tired; could use some updating. Kids loved the pool and hot tub.
We enjoyed our stay at the Bar Western Plus Rivershore Hotel. Our room was in great shape and had a wonderful river view. Our balcony overloooked the river. It was peaceful and comfortable. We also had a great steak dinner at the hotel restaurant, and recommend it highly.
This is the only hotel in Oregon City and perhaps because of that this property has no competition to keep up standards. The facility is run down, carpets frayed, sheets threadbare, no cleaning of the room unless you stay 3 nights, no pickup of dirty room service trays left in the hallway, broken treadmill in the gym, and no breakfast. You get a $7 coupon to apply to entrees that start at $15. A breakfast that is free at most Best Western would set you back $25 per person. The prices are as high as the best Plus locations I have stayed throughout the West. Avoid this location at all costs. The only redeeming factor is the friendly front desk staff.
Traveled with husband and two toddlers - hotel staff was helpful, friendly, and was aware of how they used my time during check-in. Our second-level room offered a relaxing nice view of the river and dock. A path to walk to the dock and along the river is just across the side street. Decent food options nearby (Starbucks, Shari's, McDonalds). Onsite restaurant was kid friendly, mid-price range, and tasty with a fun adult drink menu. The onsite restaurant is also the complimentary breakfast option; however, the breakfast is not included. Vouchers are provided but cover about 50% of your breakfast meal cost. Fitness room included a rowing machine - a nice change of options from typical hotel gym offerings! Pool is outdoors - was a bit chilly but we went in early in the season. Hot tub is indoors.
This is our third stay here (first was 30 years go.) and we have always enjoyed the setting: Nice view, nice park for walking, nice location. We appreciated the secure parking area as well. This time we not only enjoyed the setting but had both dinner and breakfast in the adjacent restaurant. Lots of choices, and excellent service from Heather and Tyler. The rooms themselves have a sort of awkward entry--the door is at an angle and barely clears the bathroom wall when open. Enter one person at a time. And the vanity area is tiny--not much space on the counter for your toiletries. But the room itself is spacious with desk, upholstered chair, and balcony. Bed was comfy, bedding was crisp and clean. We were not too impressed with the TV service--the picture was grainy. Could it be that we didn't know how to engage the HD? The one point I want to make is that the ladies at the front desk could not have been nicer or more efficient. I neglected to get their names, but they made us feel very welcome and gave us all the information we could have possibly needed. Yes, we'll continue to recommend this hotel, and will definitely be back.
Excellent place to stay for relaxing view of the river and walks in the nearby park. Convenient location with easy access to I-205 and local shopping mall. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent WiFi. Comfortable, clean rooms. This BW does not have typical hot breakfast but offers voucher for attached restaurant. Menu selection for breakfast is good but does not include lighter fare of breakfast items such as hot/cold cereals, pastry/bagels, fresh fruit with the voucher.
The hotel is situated on the river and the room was in good condition, clean, comfortable and has a good compliment of amenities to relax after working. Room service isn't available and that would have been nice but other than that perfect.
Don't stay here. food poisoning, security risks, plugged sinks, cold showers..What a horrible experience, They can't even fill up the ATM in the bar, third time I have stayed there and it was empty. They will even tell you the owner doesn't care. What a shame, should be a Motel 6
River view option was nice, however I did not have one of those rooms. Scratchy towels and shower not cleaned well. Very noisy freeway and construction right there . Not quiet at all making sleep inadequate. There should be some sort of disclosure on the noise. Not close to city center. About a 13 min drive to stores in Oregon City
We asked for a top floor with a view. We were able to enjoy the river view watching fishing and other activity. was also a great sunset. This place has a restaurant attached to it that has the best burger and fries.
Rooms were clean.. Staff was very friendly and helpful in the phone and in person. WiFi speed of 20Mb/sec supported trouble-free remote work Zoom meetings. Breakfast with coupon was OK value. Lots of restaurant choices in downtown Oregon City.
We like this BW. It's location is great for the things we want to do whether we are going to Portland or Salem, and the restaurant on site is very good. Very clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I only stayed 1 night, but I was very satisfied with my experience. The hotel staff was fantastic! Super helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. The room was pretty basic for a hotel, but it was clean, comfortable, and had a nice river view. I arrived late at night and felt very safe in the area. I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Oregon City.
This hotel was very nice and the staff very friendly an accommodating ! Needed early check In and they came through for us - So thankful and appreciated it very much! Rood was very clean and Bed super comfortable. View very nice as well!
Safe clean and easy access to 205. Stayed for a wedding we attended. Last minute booking. Staff was friendly and very helpful, view was very nice!!! Would recommend to anyone that needs to stay in or around Portland
We were just spending one night prior to our flight home and really liked finding this gem of a hotel on the riverside with a great balcony to sit and enjoy the view. The full service restaurant attached to the hotel was also great. Good food, at reasonable prices. The outdoor seating let us enjoy a relaxing meal with a view without every leaving the premises. Good value and great location.
Lindsey is amazing, She makes you feel welcome and goes above and beyond. She was very helpful and understanding of our situation and did everything she could to help us with our needs, was a great experience.
Guess some employee did not think this room was going to be used so they let someone live there. I found cigs, clothes, candy, medical records, ID and wallet. I called the police because I wanted to make sure the woman was still alive. They of course moved me. The next morning, the manager new nothing about it! He said I will give you $50 off. I said I did not come to lobby for that, I want to know if she is alive. who leaves their DL in a room? No answers. I make this review on these bazaar facts so they are lower but you might have a better experience. As everyone says, the carpet should be changed. But I know times are hard.
Unkept, outdated, rancid odor, too much money This was a last minute resort… Literally wanted to check out as soon as I stepped foot in the room; but it was late at night. Way too much money paid for the room. Not worth it
We've stayed at this hotel for many years. Since it has become a Best Western it is even better. The restaurant on the premises is spectacular with indoor/outdoor dining and a gorgeous view that you may also have from your room, of the Willamette River. Service is friendly and courteous.
Location, location, location! Directly across the street from the Williamette River, you can't beat the views. Mornings and evenings on the balcony are so beautiful and relaxing. We watched locals/tourist walking and swimming, fishermen fishing, boaters enjoying the water and birds chirping. It was a wonderful location.
I am writing a new review of this motel because it is no longer safe. At my last stay my car was broken into as was the car adjacent to me; windows bashed in right in the covered car port where it should have been safe. There is new management here since my last visit. They wash their hands of the problem which appears to be an influx of transients chased out of Portland. I can not stress enough the complete lack of care shown by the new mgmt. They clearly declared the next morning when I came down to find my car and the one next to me broken into and vandalized that this is now a common problem well known to them as it "happens all the time" ! THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU BECAUSE THEY DON"T WANT TO LOOSE THE BUSINESS ! WELL ! IF YOU ARE SMART DO NOT STAY HERE AGAIN EVER !
We rented the family suite so we had a separate living room which was nice to have as we were hosting a wedding in the area. The rooms had beautiful views of the river. The restaurant was convenient with good food and views.
Clean, well kept, and very nice location. Restaurant on-site was good (only tried breakfast but the dinner menu looked great!) and the live music on Friday night was good. Wonderful spot along the conjecture of the rivers, great place for walking/running for a scenic route!
The room had a balcony view of the river. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get up, kind of like a cloud. The bathroom was nice and had good water pressure. I visited the Willamette Valley and didn't go into Portland. The municipal elevator is a fun visit. Get out into the countryside. This hotel is a great getaway.
Almost all the rooms face right onto the river and it's gorgeous. Good food in the restaurant, though they are separate now so you can't charge food and/or drink to your room. We had a good rest, and if you want lunch, you have to be in the restaurant before 2! We just missed it so had an EARLY dinner! Tasty food and big portions, so that worked out just fine in the long run anyway...
The people were super nice and helpful but the room was gross. There was a dead bug on the ceiling, urine on the toilet, no remote, no balcony when I had paid for a room with one, and no utensils. The restaurant is always amazing!
Great view, but if looking for a quiet sleep, not very restful. I hate to leave such a negative review, but until they put better insulation in between the rooms, you hear and feel everything your neighbors are doing
Unfortunately, I would never stay at this location again and would not recommend it to others. We stayed here at the last minute and should have turned around and walked out immediately after entering the room. Wallpaper falling off wall, patched in a few places, lumpy bed with extremely rough sheets (all crumpled), lumpy pillows, only about 12” from wall down each side of bed, lamps did not work, very worn/old 1970's (at best) furniture. To top that off – we could hear the high pitched squeal of pipes from above, and the Air conditioner/Heater ran all night. AC/Heater ran for 10 minutes and off for 2 minutes all night long; the first 5 minutes sounded like an airplane taking off and the next 5 like a car engine. You would think that the 2 minutes it was off would be peaceful, but NO – we had the sounds of the freeway, trucks and sirens. Did not sleep. This is hands down the worst hotel that we have ever stayed at.
We booked this hotel because it's approximately to the country club where I had a business event to attend. Upon arrival to check-in, I was ignored. There were two employees; one male leaning against a table outside of the desk and one female behind the counter. They were commiserating over another employee named "Cat," who apparently signed for "something" but was not there. This caused some sort of internal issue, and they wanted "Cat" to come back into the hotel and were deciding who to call to make that happen. Then the woman called someone and was on the phone, and the back and forth continued about how the person on the phone "didn't need to come in" they should call "Cat and make her come in" etcetera, etcetera. Meanwhile, hotel guests were left waiting to check-in for approximately 10 minutes. This was extremely unprofessional as we had just traveled several hours and did not need to be privy to whatever internal issue was happening, and just wanted to get to our room. Once in the room, it was adequate but then the heater made a pinging noise that sounded like dropping popcorn into a popcorn maker all night long. The only good thing about this stay was the restaurant where the service and food were excellent and one female housekeeper who was helpful with the elevator.
I rate this a 4.5 out of 5. Certainly an older building so I could hear people walking overhead. But very unique experience. Have to approach it as a more older style establishment. But the bed sheets were clean! Guy who checked me in was SUPERB! Both clerks evening/ morning were very friendly and with a good sense of humor. The view is GOLD looking at the river. The walk on the riverside of hotel is beautiful! Highly recommend.
Easy checking in after a long 10 hour drive. Room was adorable and clean. Bed was comfortable and room had space to park my oversized wagon with all my belongings in it for traveling. Most rooms don't have extra space. There's plenty of room to do yoga or Pilates in the room. I was in a one bed room.
My door has a 1” gap under it that allowed the room to stay freezing cold, even though I had the heat going all night. I was also directly next to a stairwell and the door was banging open and closed all night. In the morning I found my shower curtain looked like it had been thrown up in and the was were disgusting. I couldn't even shower. I was also offered no assistance in getting my 2 large suitcases to my room, which was through at least 6 different doors and at the other end of the hotel from the lobby
Hotel was nice and clean and the hot tub was a huge bonus, the rooms were clean and well kept. The location was nice with a few things right around the hotel and then just a few miles away was a main street that was super cute with shops.
Holly and her staff were great. They went above and beyond to make our a stay an enjoyable one. They were very knowledgeable of the area and activities that we could enjoy during our stay. They followed covid protocol and the place was neat and clean so thank you
You pay 20% extra for an uninspiring view of the river. No breakfast - and no room service until the end of the stay. Noisy, big trucks idle out on the road for hours at a time and management does nothing about it. A 12% state and local tax is added at the end, without any warning when booking. Find a place with better value. Don't stay here if you can help it.
I called the hotel directly to make a reservation and was quoted 170.00 for one night. I told the associate that I saw 130.00 online. She said I should go online. I did and got the lower rate, however, I made a mistake on the date we wanted to stay. When we arrived at the hotel we were told we missed our date, but it would not be a problem because they had a room for us. I didn't know until I arrived home that I was charged 192.00. The associate didn't even tell us the rate. I assumed it would be the same as the amount I was charged for my missed reservation. We feel taken advantage of because we were in a difficult situation. We have been loyal Best Western customers for many years. We are re-thinking that decision
We stopped in for the night after a long drive from CA, the night attendant was very helpful and kind. Was a easy check in. The room was very roomy, clean, updated and comfortable! Wish we stayed longer. Room was equipped with all toiletries, a sofa bed, nice balcony and a comfortable bed.
This hotel does have beds, and felt reasonably clean/tidy. Be sure to pack your mask if you're there during a mask mandate time of Covid. The windows are a touch thin, so you might hear the freeway that is conveniently located directly in front of the hotel. The view of the river was glorious from our balcony! And the staff went out of their to be kind and courteous to our family reunion that assembled for a wedding in a nearby town.
Outdated furnishings/decor. Cat urine smell in one of our rooms. Carpets filthy. Shortage of towels. Fire alarm went off when heater was turned on due to dust build up according to maintenance guy. It stunk up the room. Only positive was the comfortable bed. All else was a major disapointment. Felt ripped off.
This property has a gorgeous view and looks out over the Willamette river, there's a nice walking path just in front of it. The floor was a bit stand, but that doesn't really bother me. The cleanliness was adequate. What really annoys me is that the housekeeping staff was not wearing a mask of any kind, I don't feel that that's OK at this point in the pandemic. The rooms are a little on the small side, again not a problem just something to be aware of
I stayed here for 4 nights and found the room comfortable. There was no room service due to short staffing and covid but if we needed fresh towels all we needed to do was ask and they were quick to deliver. The ac unit was really loud which made it difficult to sleep but we did get used to it. I realized a few days later that There we're ear plugs in the drawer! The hotel is located close to a nice trail along the waterfront, shopping and restaurants. The small balcony is nice although you do hear a lot of freeway noise. The restaurant on the property is really good with nice views, we were given vouchers for daily breakfast.
The Best Western had very small rooms. The listing was for a queen bed, but looked more like a double. There was a musty smell in the room. They also put a $100 hold on the room in addition to the room rate even if you pay the bill on entry.
It is a clean hotel. The staff are very friendly and very helpful with any questions that you may have. The breakfast was very good. I really enjoyed my stay. The price was ok for the amenities that were in the hotel.
I used this establishment as a place to stay for out of town guests for my wedding. The front desk lady who I believe was the manager was super helpful and fun spirited. She made check-in easy for people coming from afar. Her alone made it a pleasant experience. I wish I had grabbed her name but I do know she was there at 4pm when we checked in. The rooms AC unit we're all working well which is what I look for right away especially during the northwest's recent surge of heat waves. Had all our guests room on the 2nd floor which made communication amongst each other convenient. Thank you, BWP staff!
Everything from check in to check out was just spot on. They have everything completely put together and execute everything very well. Room was very clean. All requests were promptly taken care of. Location is very convenient everything is very near by. Staff completely accommodating. Food and service in restaurant just perfect!!
Staff is friendly. There were papers taped to walls announcing a "Towel Shortage" and directing guests to put the extra towels in the hallway. The hotel was sold out, and I just think they do not have an adequate supply. The bed was broken in my room, light bulbs burned out, and water pressure/hot water not good.
rooms feel old but very clean , black out curtains dont black out the room , river view was nice , the area is fun , tv quality is very subpar , internet was very weak so u couldnt steam a movie to fix tv issue
We spent four nights here, while visiting our daughter and grandchildren. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the restaurant was very good. We will definitely stay here again. Excellent access to park, walking trails, etc.
Location is on a river with a park across the road. Perfect location for a morning walk. Breakfast at the restaurant is very good. Hotel provides a $7 per person coupon which makes cost very reasonable (possibly free if you're not into huge breakfasts). Rooms may be a bit outdated but comfortable with a balcony overlooking the river. Have stayed here a few times in the last five years and will most likely stay on my next trip to Portland.
The river views are breathtaking! We enjoy sitting on the balcony watching the sunset with a great glass of wine. With the attached resturant/bar you can take your food and drinks to go. Staff is friendly and I would stay over and over again!
Great staff and great customer service. I've been coming for years and the staff always makes me feel welcomed. It's like a second home to me. Rooms are clean and love the river view rooms with balconies.
This hotel staff is doing there best with all the people being rude during covid times. I have seen the abuse they take from people and it's not fair. Be nice it's not hard. Never have any complaints when staying here .Staff is friendly, especially if you're the slightest bit friendly to them. WE all know how tough these times, have been. I appreciate the work they're doing and the conditions that they have to deal with and work in.
Paid for double queen. Got single queen and got charged for a double. They were handing out keys to rooms that already had people staying in them to my friends. Beware of this shady hotel. Will never stay again
Check in.. easy... Go to room, find old paper coffee cup under chair.. that's sitting right out in the open. ICK!!! Makes you wonder if the room had been cleaned. Go to the restaurant to eat. 20 minutes for a coke. Don't get me going on the food. Lets just say the server was great!! Hallway near room... soda can sitting on fire extinguisher box ALL weekend. Room cleaner took a bar glass out of the room, sat it in the window of the hall... yup, you guessed... sat there for at least 2 days. Never had this kind of complaints staying here in the past.
I stay here regularly. The staff and management treat me incredibly well. Much of the staff have been here awhile. That lack of turnover I find telling. The rooms and atmosphere are very nice and comfortable. I always enjoy the restaurant as we'll
The location was beautiful. Rooms were clean. The lady at the front desk was VERY rude, to the point where we did not want to stay, if we didn't have reservations we would've went to a different hotel. Small non smart TVs, beds were comfy, no breakfast included in stay wasn't worth what we paid for other than the view.
Hotel has a bar, resteraunt, gym and spa. Good location and great view. Sanitation is questionable as even when requested, turndown services were minimal at best. Highly recommend the bar for friendly banter and entertainment.
Been staying here for about 4 years - view of the Willamette River in majority of rooms. This hotel is great location but it's starting to get a little tired and needs a bit of upkeep in the rooms/heaters/drains
They don't accept cards without a chip and do not forewarn you. There was hair all over the comforter and stucknto the shower head. They sent someone to clean it but all she did was pick the hair off.
Horrible check-in experience. I arrived at 2 am, and checked in. I rang the doorbell twice, after waiting 5+ minutes I called. The front desk guy came running out of the back to answer the phone. I waved at him and when he answered the phone and realized it was me, he slammed down the phone. He let me in and rudely told me that they have a doorbell. I told him that I rang it twice. He then said he couldn't hear the door bell from the kitchen. I had to tell him that I was a gold member because he did not ask. Initially I was told that I could check out in after 3 nights including the one I checked in at. When I went back the next night to verify my checkout time on the day I was supposed to leave, the same guy was working, and told me that I had only payed for 2 nights. So I had to pay for a third one, thanks to his mistake. Furthermore, I had a coupon for $75 off, but was told by the same guy that they could only give me $25 of it. The room was fine but then noticed crackers on the floor under the bed from the last tenant I guess. The selection of tv channels was crappy, and I was told that Showtime was on channel 18, but it was not, and I never did find it. The walls were not sound proof. When I would leave for the day, the maids were not wearing masks. One plus is that the sheets and towels were clean. And the door locked well (even though it was not airtight). I stay at Best Westerns all the time, but I won't be staying at this one again.
Great location and nice but somewhat older hotel showing a bit of wear. Decent breakfast from the adjoining restaurant for which we had $7 vouchers. Price to to quality ratio was excellent. Convenient on-site covered parking, easy check-in and out.
The staff is top notch, the view a bonus, the rooms accommodating! I was very pleased by how attentive the staff was for all of my needs during my stay. Very friendly and so willing to do whatever I needed.
The walls are EXTREMELY thin. Be prepared to be woken by your neighbors. You can hear everything in the hallway, rooms next to you, rooms above you. If you are lucky the heater or the refrigerator will kick in to drown some noises out. Beds are comfortable. Ok for a quick overnight stay.
Excellent location, close to the main thoroughfare, yet, the windows were overlooking the river and the calming green landscape. Room was clean. Woke up in the middle of the night because of cold, the front desk immediately responded to my request for blankets. Their business center was still open, which was good. The Internet was fast. Would gladly stay here again!
After being in the road from WA all day this was a most pleasant stop! Easy access from the highway, peaceful and an incredible view of the river from my terrace. Check in and check out staff were incredibly efficient and helpful. The best! Grab and go breakfast was healthy and very well organized.
We arrived to a wonderful, helpful front desk worker who helped us get checked in and also gave us plenty of ideas for leisure activities. Every morning the breakfast at the restaurant was amazing and we also had lunch and dinner a few times with the same wonderful experience. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel:)
Wonderful location. Sitting on the balcony and watching the action on the river was great. Pool was closed, due to Covid. A short walk across the road and you can swim in the river. Walking distance to Oregon City Shopping center. Walking distance to kayak rentals too! Clean and comfortable. Hotel was in good condition. Restaurant service fast and efficient and food was good.
Beautiful view of the river! Quiet location, comfortable room. All needs are within a few blocks. Front desk staff are friendly and professional; housekeeping comes to change out towels/linens around 0930, but will come later if you ask.
We had a balcony room and loved the activity on the river. Only drawback was we looked down on restaurant patio and people dining. The breakfasts and prime rib dinners we had in restaurant were outstanding.
We visit family in Portland frequently and although we have to stay slightly out of the city, this is by far our favorite Best Western in the Portland area. This hotel is CLEAN, friendly, and the parking has a feeling of security. The only drawback is that breakfast is only available at the adjoining restaurant.
I extended my stay an extra 2 nights to enjoy the beautiful weather and views. The rule of no smoking on the balconies is respected by most, and the front desk deals with rule breakers quickly. I felt safe in the area, tho there were some homeless folks that came out after dark, The walking path along the river is a great way to enjoy the views, the history, and the shops of Oregon City.
We stayed 3 nights here and the view from our room overlooking the Clackamas River was incredible! The concierge was prompt and kind, doing all he could to make our stay memorable. For each night you stay, you'll receive a $10 coupon towards breakfast at the Rivershore Grill, and I must say that breakfasts there are really, really good and include an early morning view of the same river shoreline, where during our stay we were able to enjoy watching smallboat fishermen while eating breakfast.
I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks during a hard personal time. Every staff member was very friendly and accommodating, including restaurant staff. The bed was very comfortable and the entire room was well appointed. Cleaning staff worked very hard during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I always saw them sanitizing door knobs and countertops! Very clean, well appointed, hard working staff, all with an attitude of “what else can we do for you”. Impressive...
This was my first stay here at this hotel and I'm actually writing this review while I'm still here. I happened to checkin super late but the lady at the desk was very nice and got me to my room very quick. I had a great view of the river. My room was very clean and everything worked great. Wifi, TV, shower, lights, everything worked perfect and I can honestly say I had no issues. I will be coming back often and plan to make this my stop.
This hotel is right on the bank of the river. My room had a balcony with great views. The staff was professional and friendly. There are a lot of places to eat nearby. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
From working on the railroad for many years I developed knee problems for which the preferred treatment in my case was complete replacement of the knee joint with a new one. I scheduled the surgery for winter when it was less obtrusive to my lifestyle. Living in a condo with a total of sixteen steps to the bedroom I decided to check into the Rivershore between leaving the hospital and going home. I reserved a handicapped room on the same floor as the restaurant and bar in which I stayed for five days before going back home. The transition was uneventful and my healing is progressing nicely. Assuming all continues to go well I will be coming back to the Rivershore next January when I have the other knee replaced!
Great place. They were able to get us in early. The room was clean and up to date on decor. The bed was super comfortable. The restaurant had delicious food and the best service. I would definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant.
From the reservation to checkout is was a nice stay. Staff were all nice and friendly. Would stay again. Liked they had breakfast til 2 on Sundays. We stayed for 4 days and we generally don't need room service but if you do they are very good about making sure you have what you need.
Great hotel and fair prices. I have stayed at the hotel every week for over a year. I'm working in the area. The management and workers are always friendly and like to give extra effort to ensure the guests enjoyed their stay.
This is a wonderful location to stay. The staff was superb, the location convenient and lovely and the drinks, lovely! Mike the Manager was very kind and personable to us. The food could have been a bit better, yet not knowing their budget and the policies for this brand, the cooks may have their hands tied.
Conveniently located just off Interstate 205, Best Western Plus Rivershore Hotel provided the perfect oasis for visiting Oregon City, Oregon. First impressions are meaningful, and the hotel staff who welcomed and checked me in were extremely friendly, polite and very knowledgable about the area. This was my first trip to Oregon City and I had a lot of questions, especially about places of interest and dining options. Within minutes after dropping my bags off into my room, I was headed out to one of several recommended establishments for lunch. I was fortunate to have a room with a view of the Willamette River not far from the famed Willamette Falls. All was perfect with my room, and I was extremely surprised to have a super-large screen television. I believe this is one of only two hotels in Oregon City, so occupancy was high. Parking spaces fill up quickly in late afternoon, so if you're planning to go out for dinner, don't be disappointed if covered parking or spaces close to the elevators are taken by the time you return. Minutes away is Oregon City's historic downtown, a wonderful gem that provides an excellent selection of restaurants and boutique retail shops. Not far is Oregon City Brewing, a must-visit for anyone visiting Oregon City who enjoys craft beer. Speaking of restaurants, the hotel offers excellent dining at its onsite Rivershore Bar & Grill. I highly recommend. I enjoyed receiving upon check-n the discounted breakfast and free appetizer coupons. Thanks to all who made my visit all the more memorable.
Stayed for a busy workday and found out I needed to stay another day booking and check in was made easy and enjoyable, when you been working hard and you know you are going to have another hard work day , having the opportunity to a great accommodations, service and a great attitude from a friendly staff goes a long way, along with comfortable beds.
Oregon City BW PLUS is a very nice place to stay. The staff, food, amenities, room, parking, everything was top notch. The views were lovely, the location was convenient. We will be staying here again. Excellent rating. Thank you!
This hotel is on the river so has great views from the balconies. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very confortable and relaxing. Close to every thing one would need and to the 205 freeway.
Room was spacious, clean and had a nice view. Plenty of parking with bigger than normal spaces making it easy to get things in and out of your car. Little things like good lighting and plugs for allnmy electronics were a plus. Some might find sink area a little tight and the bed is on the high side. I found the bed and pillows comfortable but I understand everyone has different pillow ideas. There is a restaurant on premises with a balcony to sit outideas. Hotel guest get a free appetizer coupon. There are some great little restaurants in downtown Oregon City within 5 minutes of the hotel.
The front desk gals were friendly and helpful. It seems to have been recently updated. I really mean UPdated because the beds are more than 3 feet off the floor. We requested a stool and they provided one. The river view is lovely.
I had seen the property in the past but was very impressed with the new remodel. The exterior is just gorgeous and the new interior remodel is perfect and up to date for 2019. The front desk staff is always so friendly and go above and beyond. I definitely recommend this property for business or pleasure!
A lovely location by the river, easily accessible from the freeways, convenient restaurant on site and outdoor pool in the sun. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom has nice toiletries, special face cloth for makeup and nice quality towels.
Every room has a view of the river. Since the hotel is along the shore, there is a walkway right along the river for convenient walking. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We would stay here again. Room was clean. Seems like it might be an older hotel but we really enjoyed our stay. The elevator is really small though and there is only one.
For the price and the view of the river from the room. It was not as enjoyable as some of the other Best Western's I stay at. I wouldn't stay here again, unless I was absoutely desperate for a room. I did not like the breakfast in the restaurant.
The image of Best Western that I have always had in my mind was completely defeated when I checked into this hotel. The property is very nice when pulling up, the staff is very friendly and I was completely impressed with the room. The furnishings were nice the linens were soft and the hotel had everything necessary to make it a nice stay!
We stayed here for one quick night on our way through town, this was our 4th Best Western of our trip and was the least favourite of the ones we stayed at. The building is definitely on the older side and could use some refurbishment. The room included microwave and fridge. The beds were so high, I almost needed a stool to get up on it. I just did not feel comfortable here, so I won't be returning.
Enjoyed a brief stay to visit family in area. The park setting is nice for walks or a short run. The river view is relaxing. The rooms have been refurbished on this vintage property. Not fancy, but clean and adequate. Comfortable bed and bedding.
The view of the Willamette from this hotel is quite nice, but a road and trees between the river and the hotel obstruct the view a little (I was on the third floor). The hotel is a little on the older side, but the rooms were decent. Clean and comfy beds and an older bathroom. Outdoor pool is heated and the hot tub is indoors. The pool is right next to the bar smoking area, so if you have kids especially it may not be a healthy experience. Breakfast is expensive here. I would never pay $15 to some toast and eggs, especially if there is nothing exceptional about the food. Luckily, we had $7 coupons...
This is a top notch hotel with comfortable rooms and on site restaurant. Plenty of other food options in walking distance and short driving distance. Most of the rooms over look the river and there is a park and boat launch near. The rooms have just been remodeled. Nice lobby too. The staff is always friendly and know their jobs. House keeping takes care of their guests. There is a coupon for the breakfast, or if your are early, they have a grab and go bag for you.
We had a great stay. The Sun came out so we took the family enjoyed all of the hotel amenities staff was great and things really went smooth from beginning to end. Grab & Go breakfast was nice. It's a smaller Best Western, very clean and well maintained. Bonus points for being right on the river.
As hockey parents, we have stayed in numerous hotels/motels/lodges/airbnb's etc for the last 10 years. The Best Western Plus Rivershore Hotel was an excellent place to stay for comfort, price, service and hospitality. We enjoyed the clean rooms, balcony overlooking the river and the service provided by the front desk, housekeeping and restaurant. I highly recommend staying here.
Excellent location and beautiful views from the room. Property definitely needs to be refreshed and updated. But, the front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and the property is usually competitively priced.
This BW Plus is very nice. Most of the rooms are large and nicely populated. SOme are small and uncomfortable. They are the older rooms. Good food. Good customer service. Good river view from the rooms.
Beautiful grounds and location. Sunset view over the river. Bathroom counter granite all the way across the room. Comfortable bed. Large balcony. Great service at hotel. Room service available. Food at restaurant not the best but the sourdough bread is delicious. Salad dressing on the side, ceasar was drenched. No blackened seasoning again. It was too salty. Ruined a good halibut. Breakfast sandwich was good.
I frequently stay at hotels for work. I typically look for decent places with a breakfast available to save time and money. Best Western Plus hotels have frequently met my requirements with ease. This hotel is different. Because there is a restaurant attached there is no breakfast bar or (if you are into it) evening soup. Instead you get coupons for a free hors d'oeuvre and a discount on breakfast. To me, this is not convenient and not what I go to a BW+ for. Also, because I booked through my employer business travel service, when I asked them about breakfast or some other amenity, the employees kept saying (a little disdainfully) that I had "booked through a Third-party". Apparently, this indicated that they are less willing to help out "third-party" customers. On the upside, the room was clean and comfortable. The location is very nice as it is right next a park next to the river. It might be better for a recreational stay or if you just want a nice room and no other amenities or service.
The room was clean and comfortable. We were right next to fisherman's marine so were able to pick up everything we needed for our trip. I would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Oregon city.
I was in town for one night for a meeting. I booked a room with a river view through a third party app and unbeknownst to me they had changed it. The woman at the front desk (I never caught her name) caught it and corrected it which I so appreciate. I had to interact with the front desk staff quite a bit since I needed to use the business center, demagnetized my key, and was running late upon checkout. Every interaction was so friendly and helpful. As a solo female traveler I felt completely safe. Basically my pros and cons are as follows: Pros • friendly, responsive staff • beautiful river view • clean, inviting room • safe • quiet • reasonably priced • close to great attractions and easy to get to near the highway Cons • walls a bit thin, but other guests weren't loud so it wasn't a problem • the room was remodeled, but the motors were old- mini fridge, heater and exhaust fan were a little loud • on site restaurant is a bit expensive, but you get a voucher that gives you a discount I would recommend this hotel as it was a really pleasant stay with an amazing view. The nice staff really make the difference.
The ‘walk' to your room can be very confusing. The rooms are nice, quiet and the view of the lake is fantastic! It's nice that the restaurant is inside especially if it's raining. The location is very convenient.
I always stay at this hotel when I need to be at Milwaukie Portland Elks Lodge. The service is superb and my room is always clean. Staff is friendly. Restaurant is also very good. I will definitely stay again.
I stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the view. The noise from the highway overpass was another issue. If you are a light sleeper, don't ask for a room near the end of the hotel. Overall, the room was spacious and comfortable. The balcony small but provided fantastic views of the Willamette River and the fishermen. I ate in the bar at Happy Hour which was tasty and a good value. I did not eat in the restaurant, it was a bit pricey for what I wanted. There is a Shari's across the street, so opted for dinner there one night. McDonald's is very close so that was a good breakfast choice I would choose the location again when in the area.
First, my wife had to be convinced to stay here—she won't normally stay in a Best Western. However, the location by the river and convenience to our other activities finally persuaded her. Once we were actually in the room, with an awesome view of the swollen river, large puffy beds, and immaculately clean room, she agreed it was a good choice. If all Best Westerns were of this quality we would gladly change our usual preferences. Each room is situated with a view of the river and a balcony to enjoy the view. Parking is under and behind the building. There were plenty of open spaces when we were there. The front desk will also hand out vouchers for $7 off breakfast, which makes breakfast quite reasonable! Overall, no complaints and lots of compliments!
Used to stay here all the time but quit going because of the bar noise and lack of parking. That has greatly improved but still need work on maid/housekeeping service. Free breakfast you have to pick up in the lobby and basically consists of oatmeal...a pass for me. Value was good though.
We stayed four nights. Our room was really nice and comfortable. Had a nice view of all the boats fishing salmon and steelhead. Everything in the room worked well. Security is quite good. The outer rooms are accessed only with a key to the stairs or elevator. Staff was quite nice. They gave us a discount coupon for breakfast one morning. The adjoining restaurant and bar is a separate business, but quite good. Would happily stay at the Rivershore again.
This hotel will meet your expectations if you don't mind a bit of noise. In its favor is an excellent restaurant available, a recent remodel, reliable wifi, and riverfront views with walking path. However, I had one noise issue after the next. First, the walls are paper thin. I could hear EVERY word of the conversation next door. Secondly, the hotel is located on an ambulance route and sirens go by many times a day. Third, the heating/cooling unit in the room is incredibly loud. So much that it literally woke me up during the night every time it clicked on! Lastly, the maid service was quite disturbing during the middle of the day when I was trying to rest. While cleaning the room next door, she repeatedly let the door slam into the metal door jam as she was constantly going in and out between the room and her cleaning cart. It went on for a very long time (half hour) until I couldn't bear it anymore and approached her. Thankfully she resolved it quickly. As for breakfast, you can get a $7 voucher for the restaurant, or the "Grab & Go" breakfast consisting of Bob's Red Mill oatmeal or muesli, fruit, milk/juice/water or Carnation protein drink. The room service is quite expensive (though the food is delicious). It ended up costing me $28 for a burger and soda. It is convenient having a very large shopping center across the street accessible by foot. Starbucks, Rite Aid drug store, Ross, Michaels, Dollar Tree, Subway, Fisherman's Outdoor, a fabulous hole-in-the-wall Mexican/Peruvian restaurant - La Hacienda (and many more). Lastly, the toilet was not flushing when I first received my room, but it was fixed promptly. In summary, I would say this is a great hotel for someone who is not fussy and simply needs a quick overnight stay. This isn't a great vacation destination, though.
We spent few days in this hotel and enjoyed them. Our room and the facilities in general could use some remodeling. The balcony had a nice view on the river. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I would certainly stay there again if I'll head back to the area.
A friend and I stayed 3/29 and 3/30. The view from the 4th floor room was nice, but the beds were hard as bricks and the walls were thin - you can hear every word said in the hall way and doors were slamming all night. The rooms are dated and still smell a bit like cigarettes. Also, there were scant directions on how to get to our rooms...the place is maze-like. The upside was the restaurants...great food and wonderful servers.
Walls too thin and floor above us creaked horribly. Heater was so noisy when it kicked on had to turn it completely off and with cold weather room was freezing. Rooms were clean and had a nice view but oh my gosh the noise was bad.
The hotel was fine, the food was awesome and the staff was great. The 20 some police cars roaring up the street kept me up until the wee hours. No fault of the hotel just annoying yet worrisome. The morning news told the tale of why so many police. It was good to see that your tax dollars are well spent.
The entire stay/dining experience met my high expectations; the staff was most pleasant and exceeded expectations, found ways to say "yes". The location was ideal w easy access to I205 and 99 making it perfectly situated for business and pleasure.
Over the past four years I've been a guest at this hotel with members of my family.. The large rooms are always clean, inviting, quiet with room enough for a desk,a table and chairs plus two full beds. The hotel gives each guest a discount coupon for breakfast and one for appetizer daily. I love the people who work at this hotel..Stevie in the dining room is excellent, as are Jodi, Jordan, Nell Erich, Chris, Eliza:). The energy of the hotel personal is one of quiet professionalism. A BIG shout out to the management and owner of this gem. I gave a four star only because the hotel needs to update the bathroom.. It's serviceable but when you turn on the light the loud exhaust fan comes on.On several visits the guests next door forgot to turn theirs off when they left very early, it was so loud it woke us up. Two switches, one for the light and one for the exhaust, would be very welcome.
This hotel is right on the water and is so beautiful and peaceful . The rooms are average but are clean and nice. the restaurant and bar on site offer great food at very reaslonable prices. There is shopping directly across the street. This is a great location
Centrally located. Known as Rivershore Hotel by everyone ! Plaza across the road, including Shari. Rooms were cleaned and filled everyday, stayed 2 nights. A little pricey with no breakfast, except for restaurant attached and near by. Card entrance, good view of cold river (January) haha !
Every room has a balcony with a beautiful view of the river. We enjoyed walking to the boat marina nearby. The room was very clean and surprisingly quiet despite being close to the freeway. We attended a company party with an amazing catered dinner! Breakfast was also delicious, with a wonderful view.
Great overall location, but very noisy if you have ANYONE staying above you. We also had an issue with the carpet. It was disgusting and we had clothes ruined from whatever was in the carpets... turned our clothes orange and had a horrible bnb odor!
Was passing through the area and booked at this hotel. Since I was exausted, kinda sick with a cold, and had arrived a bit late I ended up going to bed shortly after checking in. I untucked the left side of the bed where I slept, placed my computer on the tucked in right side along with a bag of cough drops, and went to sleep. At 3:30 in the morning I was woken up by a loud crash. Half asleep I looked over and noticed that the stuff that was on the bed, the laptop and bag of cough drops, was on the floor. The noise seemed to be much more chaotic if just the stuff had fallen. I frequently sleep with stuff on my bed, and have not really ever knocked it off, let alone knocked it so violently far off the bed. I wondered if I did thrash a bit under the covers, but the covers were completely tucked tight. Looking more at the items I could not wrap my head around the physics of where all the cough drops had fallen. the bad is facing one direction, and some of the cough drops are in a place that I could not imagine they would end up. I got up, walked around to the other side of the bed to pick the items up and the room was very cold, but only in that one area. Take a look at the photos and see if they make sense to you. Also, after looking at the photos I noticed that my laptop landed on a small stain on the carpet. What does the stain appear to be? After experiencing the chill in the room I packed up my stuff, and went to talk to the night person at the desk. When I mentioned what happened, the man did not seem surprised. He said he's heard things about the far building before. Since it was 4a.m. I did not want to find another hotel. I asked if he could place me close to the lobby and he did. I slept fine after that. I wasn't really a "believe in ghosts" type person, but this was too weird. There is one other review that is older that also claims the place is haunted. I saw that review after my experience.
Compared to other Best Westerns it lacks in service other than that it's clean. It's right on the highway so it's noisy. Ask for a room looking over river or spend the extra money for somewhere else.....
I am a Best Western reward member and I have stayed at the Rivershore many times over the last few years. The remodel is great, all (except maybe 2 or 3) of the rooms have balconies and they all over look the Willamette River. Rare to find a balcony at these prices. Very reasonably priced and the people have been so nice over the years. Holly is the manager and Jordan and Nell at check-in were especially nice on New Years Eve. Last year we reserved a whole set of rooms for my daughter's wedding guests and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's 20 minutes from downtown Portland (but who needs downtown Portland?!) - the Rivershore has plenty of parking, an on-site restaurant (with a view), coupons for breakfast and appetizers, and a hopin' bar (Hayley, Rachel and Julius are awesome) and Oregon City is fast becoming the quirky, trendy place to be!
Have stayed in this hotel about 2 times a year when visiting our children for the last 20 years. I love the view of the river and even hearing the slight honking of the geese. Having the restaurant on site is a definite plus.
This hotel was a great place to stay, clean comfortable rooms, extremely friendly staff from having to change our reservation and stay one night longer Eliza at check in was amazing. Lindsey made the reservation and helped us get settled and the room overlooked the Willamette river with a balcony. The food in the restaurant was very good and gave discount coupons for breakfast. The bar had a nice crowd and ambiance and the sever was on top of it. The steamer clams were delicious. All and all a great place to stay for the price and many amenities that made it all the better.
This hotel is right off of the freeway and yet seemingly miles away. A river runs alongside the hotel property and the river and a sweet little park are just a few minutes walk away. The staff was efficient upon check in and when I called to let them know the elevator was sending out an alarm, they got to work on fixing the situation immediately. The room was a bit on the small side - I had a king bedroom - but was cozy with a very comfortable chair to sit and view the t.v. or to work on a laptop. The refrigerator was larger than most I have encountered in hotel rooms and kept my beverages nice and cold. I did not eat at the accompanying restaurant but did walk over to McDonald's for a snack. The neighborhood is quiet and I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I recommend it without any reservations.
This hotel is conveniently located off of I-5 about 15 to 20 minutes outside of Portland. The rooms were ok but the chair in our room had several tears in it making it unappealing for sitting on. We spent three nights there as we were visiting family nearby and found it adequate.
Our room had an amazing view of the river. The staff was fast to check you in and happy to help you out. The room was big and the bed was comfortable. The food was good and the restaurant had a view of the river too.
Good size TV but didn't have MSNBC and had to settle for CNN - no Rachel Maddow!! The room was fine - it was large and all rooms have a view of the river. Getting to the room was odd, as check in was in a separate building. Our initially room had not been properly cleaned pending our arrival so we had to switch rooms. Breakfast is offered in a “independently leased” restaurant on the 2nd floor of the hotel (the building with the rooms and not the building where reception is”. It is a tad challenge to get into the restaurant. You get a $7 voucher for each person to use in the restaurant. A bowl of oatmeal cost $7. You pay for coffee, juice whatever. So…I got my coffee in the hotel lobby after breakfast and had water with my oatmeal. My husband went for the pancakes with two slices of bacon for $9. He also opted for water. You get the idea. It is possible to get an egg for $2
The view from our hotel room was beautiful - overlooking the river. The restaurant attached to the hotel is great. Staff at the front desk were very friendly. Unfortunately, the hallway outside our room smelled like urine. The shower didn't drain properly. And housekeeping did not come into our room at all during the 3 nights we were there. They did try to come once, but it was at 9:00am when we were just waking up, and we asked them to come back later but they never did.
We had a room overlooking the river and it was very comfortable. We had dinner and ordered the filet and the salmon and were both delicious. Also, we had the breakfast looking at the river and the food was also very good. A great stay.
This property has been our home away from home for the past several years, each time we visit our children. We have always been pleased and continue to make reservations. It's clean, the staff is courteous and remembers our names. They go out of their way to make our stay everything we could want.
This Hotl is situated with balcony rooms alongside a river. Really nice rooms and very very clean throughout. Personnel extremely nice and helpful. Not impressed with the restaurant, but other restaurants nearby. Will definitely be back!
The place is tired and in need of upgrade. View is fine but they don't tell you you'll hear traffic constantly from busy freeway. Room had strong shaving lotion odor which didn't go away in 3 days with balcony door open. Carpet dirty, chair dirty, room just seemed tired. Cheap for breakfast -- $7 coupon does not cover breakfast anywhere. Check in staff on Friday was rude and incapable; rest of staff seemed fine and were helpful. Place is laid out in eerie way with access only by card. Felt secure enough but just too weird as far as getting in and out of the buildings Dirty pool and spa, tiny workout space. Odd place.
This hotel has beautifully been updated; high quality upgrades are evident. Love that every room has a river view! Hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This is my go-to hotel when in the area. Love this hotel!
The staff is great, the rooms are nice, but the best thing is the view with your balcony!!! It is so nice to be able to sit outside and decompress after a long day at work. There are many places to eat near by to bring food back to your room and enjoy.
The room was comfortable, quiet and felt quite secure. Elevator is just off the parking lot, but you have to have a room key to access it. Received a voucher for breakfast, but it did not cover cost of the food. Lots a hot water which I love. Spent part of the evening on the little balcony overlooking the river. Room was on the smaller size, but fine for one person, one night. To get to the restaurant or office from some rooms means you walk outside. Rooms are all interior doors.
View, restaurant, excellent location - are all reasons I stay here often. Even though it is not in the "heart" of Portland - it is my go to hotel. I enjoy the view of the river and the onsite restaurant with outside seating. The drive to anywhere in Portland is easy and fast. Very enjoyable stay.
Easily accessed off of highway 205. The rooms are nice and the restaurant has excellent food. I liked the idea that the restaurant is attached to the hotel so that when I stay alone I don't have to go outside to reach it. It is especially nice when it is dark and rainy. The hotel gives coupons for an appetizer with dinner and $7 off breakfast.
I visit this area almost every year and I found that this hotel to be among the best in the area for convenience and value. This time, however, our room was situated just above the swimming pool and the noise got to be a bit much at times. Also, we didn't have much of a view of the river, but got a good glimpse of the roof of the restaurant. They give you a voucher to use towards breakfast which helps with the cost but usually doesn't cover the entire meal. Rooms are spacious and have the usual amenties (including wifi).
When traveling to Oregon city the best hotel is the Best Western Rivershore Hotel. The rooms have a great view of the river. The restaurant is great and it is walking distance to the nice little city center and a park along the river.
This was a great hotel with wonderful staff my problem was with the reservation agents on the phone and how they spoke to me and how they handled the issue with the reservation mix up that they caused
We've stayed at this hotel 3 times a year for a long time. It is well run, clean, very helpful for everything we need. The view of the Willamette river is wonderful from every room. Best hotel in Oregon City and surroundings!
Basic 2 star hotel in a small town. Needed a one night stay last minute because of a work thing, and this worked out fine. Worked good for just going in and sleeping and leaving early the next morning. Front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was as expected, a no-frills, but value for the money was fine. No issues with cleanliness or noise. There was a party going on in the breakfast room - looked like a birthday party for a young child, but ended early enough the noise down the hall was not a problem. Would stay there again if in the area due to budget.
Very nice hotel with clean rooms. All rooms have a nice little balcony overlooking the river. Very good onsite restaurant with an outdoor deck. Convenient location next to river walking path & walking distance to downtown Oregon City. Would definitely stay here again.
I had seen some negative reviews but things were good on my one night stay. Clean and quiet room. Air conditioner worked well. A little disappointment about breakfast not starting until 7 as I couldn't take advantage of that. Slow check in and out process but part of that was the clunkiness of their online card redemption process. I would stay here again.
This was a really good stay. The hotel had all the requirements, a government rate, hot tub, fitness room and nice rooms. The river view was an added plus. The restaurant attached is highly convenient. The food there was good for both dinner and breakfast the next day. There was a limited coupon for breakfast the next day, which didn't cover most of what was on the menu, and there wasn't sufficient ac the night before at the restaurant, but both meals were quite good. The hot tub was operating well and hot, would be nice if it actually bubbled and had strong jets, that seems to be a common problem at hotels lately. Parking was a little tight, the layout was different, very small lobby area separated from the hotel, it was required to have your room key to get into the elevator and that system wasn't totally obvious to us at first. The hallways were quite warm (not airconditioned). But the rooms were nicely appointed, the renovation on this property was good, and did I mention the view? Just lovely, great stay--thanks
will say that the hotel is beautiful...great views. All staff were friendly, except for the bartender, Joe. The first night he was friendly and had excellent customer service. However, the 2nd night, was a whole different story. We chose a hotel with a bar, as we were on vacation & meeting family not seen in a while. We wanted a place to drink cocktails and not have to leave the premises. Our family was meeting us later in the evening and we had all decided to do dinner at the hotel. Prior to their arrival, we were having drinks and had friended some patrons at the bar. Joe walked in for his shift, and it was obvious he was not having a good day. I had commented.."smile" and he gave a disgusted look to me and waved his hand as to shun me. I decided it was best not to say anything else, as we all have bad days. We had some more drinks and bought the patrons we friended, some drinks as well. Joe walked over, when I ordered our next drinks, and handed me ice water and told me we had to order food before he would serve us. I was shocked and said our family will be here within the hour and we have every intention on eating dinner here and we arent leaving the premises, if that is a concern. He just walked away. I asked the patron if i had done something out of line and his response was "no, not at all" i then asked joe if i did something to offend him and he replied "no, but u need to order food, your bartab is high" there were 2 of us and we ordered drinks for others, and the drinks arent 2.00 a drink. At that time our family arrived, we chose to go elsewhere (our family member did the driving) closed out our tab and i left a poor tip because i felt from the moment he walked in he was rude. (Mind u, the night prior, he was tipped very well) We left, when we got outside, joe came running out towards me and told me we needed the tip more than he did and threw it back at us. He was then told he got what he deserved. And we left. I work where customer service is a top priority, and he was very rude and belittling, and if I was out of line in something I may have said (which he himself said didnt happen) he still handled the situation poorly. That was our only complaint, otherwise, the hotel was great. We had 4 other family members meet us and that wouldve been dinner for 6 and im sure they wouldve hung out a bit as well. We were willing to spend our money there and not elsewhere. Im also sure theres cameras that will show, at no point were we out of line. We were having a great time, until then. Sad that one person would ruin it.
Management is Terrible we were traveling With 2 small pets Gouged for 2 dogs $185 a night OH. Here buy a dinner And get a free appetizer ... Bartender was The worst personality ever she must be Related to Gen Mgr !!! They should loose the Best Western Name !!! Look at Yelp for real reviews
We have stayed in this hotel 3 times over the last two years to visit our son who moved to Oregon City. We can always count on everything being perfect; i.e., the cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff, etc. Even when we brought our dogs to surprise our son, they were extremely accommodating and it was wonderful. When we had very little time to visit with him, we had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was wonderful from the service to the quality of the food. It is the only place we will stay in Oregon City. And after this trip, we will always reserve a room with a view of the river.
The Best Western Rivershore was great. Wonderful room with a view of the Willamette River. We even saw a eagle. Breakfast and dinner were terrific. They gave us each a $7.00 credit for breakfast in the restaurant. The staf was great.
I booked a room over a week ago, traveling with pets for a dog show. Just today they get back to me to tell me that they have changed their policy _after_ accepting my reservation, and now I have a week less to make arrangements. This hotel still shows on the Best Western site as accepting pets. I have had issues in the past where a hotel is mistakenly marked as accepting pets, and had the management get back to me the next day to let me know there was an error. That's fine, and is a prompt correction of the issue. Accepting a reservation, and then changing your policy _after_ the reservation was accepted is not good business. It's fine if you won't take any additional reservations, but you should honor current reservations. It's especially rude considering that I'm a diamond level BW awards member.
I really wanted to like this place - on the river, walking path.... Was willing to overlook the strange lobby / building / parking situation, old elevator, stained hallway carpet - but the smell in the room was way too much. We opened the windows, thinking air would help, and went for a walk. Nope. If anything, the urine like smell was worse. They moved us to another room. It was somewhat better, but still not good. Wanted to soak in a tub of hot water, but it was dirty.... ewww. We were so tired, we called it a night. Not even the appetizer voucher / breakfast $7.00 credit were worth it. The restaurant floors were sticky (bar / lounge space at night) and the rubbery, tasteless "omelet" was unlike anything I've ever had - and not in a good way. Will not stay here again on the annual business trip. For $179 AARP rate, was not even close!
Been here before, and swore, never come back. BUT, it is very well located.Place is old, and well maintained. Rooms are a bit small. However, sitting on the deck looking over the river, and the sun is shinning, it becomes OK. I haveonly eaten breakfast here, and it is a full meal.So I will be back
Spent two days at the Rivershore Best Western and were very impressed with the rooms, service and cleanliness. All floors are one above ground, the ground level is for parking and the second floor has a walkway across the entire hotel which is great in inclement weather. The windows overlook the river and there is an attached restaurant that is excellent.
Staff was wonderful! They were very welcoming, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, quick, and they always had a smile. The room was nice and clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy. The river was beautiful. We ate some appetizers at the cafe/restaurant and it was good. The waitress was very nice and we enjoyed talking to her. She made us laugh. We enjoyed her personality.
We had great expectations about staying at the Rivershore Best Western, sadly, our expectations were not met. When we first checked in, I inquired about the nearby falls. The desk clerk began to talk about Multnomah Falls...not about the Willamette Falls, that were supposedly only "a 35 min. walk" from the hotel. Then, we went to our room on the 4th floor. We thought we would have a lovely view of the river, only to find the room was a dinky little corner room that seemed like an afterthought in the layout. The only light in the room was from the slider on the balcony, which opened up to a view of the roof of the restaurant with all the AC equipment on top, and the cigarette butts in the water just below the balcony. As we left the elevator on the 4th floor, we were assaulted with a strong chemical odor. Apparently they had just cleaned the carpet. We did not eat in the restaurant, although we were given vouchers. The menu in the room showed large breakfasts that cost way more than the vouchers. This would have been fine if we had wanted a large leisurely breakfast, but we were leaving the next day, and wanted only something light. The menu showed nothing light, so we decided to take a pass. I doubt we will stay there again.
Nice, affordable room on the Willamette river. We took advantage of a walking trail right across the street. The queen room was small, but we were only there for one night. As a rewards customer, we got chits for 2 free breakfasts, which covered all but $1.00, plus a tip.
My husband and I booked a room here after a renovation mishap at our house left us without water. I was just expecting it to be a run of the mill motel, but was surprised by how nice it was at an affordable price. The room was spacious and seemed recently renovated. It was well appointed with a microwave, fridge, balcony, and a very large bathroom. I would definitely stay here again.
Great place to stay on the Willamette River. Clean and up to date. Comfortable bed. Appreciate that they accepted our pet, Dixie Dog. Very reasonably priced and lovely front desk staff. You can't have breakfast until 7:00 a.m. and the restaurant is not owned and operated by Best Western. The coupons they give for breakfast are a Bonus, and for appetizers in the evening.
Well kept, nice people, and a wonderful view of the river and sunsets. Quiet unless you open the door then there is some traffic noise. It looked like there were some fun activities available. Restaurant close by.
I enjoyed the view of the river, the room was clean and comfortable and the staff were all very nice. We sat in the spa a couple nights which felt great but was indoors and kind of hot. The view is really worth the whole stay.
The staff was very friendly. Had a partial river view but was still beautiful. My fiance and I enjoyed staying there. Excellent job to the staff and hotel. I would recommend to anyone to stay there. I plan to return to Oregon and will stay at this hotel again. It was also located near the river which you could walk to.
We've stayed here many times. We belong to the Best Western Rewards so we try to stay at a Best Western. We booked through Best Western not a 3rd party. They put us in a small worn out queen bed room close to the freeway. The bed in 427 is worn out!!!!! It wiggles around and you cannot get any sleep between that and the freeway. We wanted to stay another night but but the front desk would not give us any consideration for our crummy room so we moved to Jantzen Beach Red Lion which I highly recommend! There was a hair in my breakfast and I hope it was the only one because I did not eat it. I think the front desk should have given us a decent room the second night so we didn't have to move and we would have been happy...except for the hair in the omelet!
One of the better best western plus hotels right on the river with each room with a view and a little balcony. Room was clean and comfortable, staff was pleasant and helpful. If you book through best western you will receive a $7.00 breakfast voucher for the attached restaurant. If you have the option, choose a room on the top floor as floors are squeaky - at least the one above us was. Would definitely stay again but would insist on a top floor room.
Very nice location on the Willamette river. Lots of walking trails, good restaurant in house. Need to come back and explore more of the city, the surrounding area and the water falls. Area was quiet with not alot of traffic noise day or evening
The Best Western was easy to find but parking was difficult and it was a little confusing to find where to park. The BW lots were full, the Office person saying it was because the restaurant staff parked in the BW lot, so we parked in the restaurant lot. That made me nervous because of the car being so distant from our room. It was also a little inconvenient because it was far to lug our luggage. The rooms were well-appointed and comfortable. Unfortunately we arrived late and the weather was gray the next day so we didn't benefit from the view from the balcony. (We saw it from the restaurant which should be close to the same and it was an excellent view of the river.) The restaurant, though not part of the BW, accepted the BW vouchers for $7 each, and it was very nice. It had an interesting view, the single waitress was knowledgeable, pleasant, and provided very good service, and the food was very good.
We went to Portland to see Hamilton and stayed here for one night. It was a good location for driving to downtown. The Willamette River accents in the room were a nice touch. A very nice path just outside the hotel allowed for an enjoyable river walk. There was some noise of people walking in the room above us, but it didn't interfere with sleep.
We are comfortable at this location but again, as noted, price is high for an overnight for us. I look for discounted prices on line and can save a little. I just have a problem spending $100 for a shower and bed.
Very satisfied with the Best Western River Shore hotel in Oregon City, Oregon. I would highly recommend it to very one. The staff were very helpful, the restaurant had very good food. The exercise room has a treadmill, weights, rowing machine, bike. The pool was not open as it was too cold, but the hot tub was open, but I did not use it. The rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable.
We always try and stay at the Rivershore when traveling to the Portland area - 20 to 30 nights per year. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the view of the river is great. The adjacent restaurant is consistently a good choice for any meal. Note: During the summer months, make your reservations early, as they are frequently full.
My husband and I love to travel. We always try to stay at a Best Western. We had a wonderful river view. Comfortable beds. The rooms are big. We had a two queen bed room and it was a big room. A nice size bathtub to soak in. It's really nice to have a restaurant in the hotel. Lots of shopping just across the street from the hotel. We used the express checkout when we left . It was really convenient. We always travel with our dog so being pet friendly is a must. We even got a gift bag when we checked in. It's a great place to stay.
Hey Steve here for a business trip because it was the closest hotel I could find to West Linn. After reading reviews I was skeptical but on leaving this hotel I must say that I was surprised at how pleasant my stay was. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. Road noise was minimal and there were no word father bumps going on in the building. The bed was comfortable with nice pillows and toiletries to get through the night. The room was clean complete with fridge and microwave. There's food within walking distance as well as stores across the street. It is true there are a few creepers that were hanging out in the parking lot however, don't be quick to judge the hotel. I would definitely stay here again by myself, but probably would not bring a family with lots of kids. Thanks for the hospitality!
We where given adjoining rooms and we had a great time the food is fabulous and the view outstanding be sure and go up the road to the natural falls they are working to make a park at. There are close shopping and within one exit a more to choose from. The people are very friendly and we will be returning they are also pet friendly
Nice staff and restaurant. Terrible bed, pillows, broken refrigerator, pet area is muddy mess, parking lot not safe at night. Reported suspicious activity in parking lot no surprise to staff. Dumpster divers frequent area.
We spent this past Saturday night here, and can find very little to complain about. This is a beautiful property, located adjacent to a lovely park and walkway along the Willamette River. Every room has a balcony overlooking the river. I can only imagine how nice it must be in the springtime. We very much appreciate the high level of pet-friendliness here: the pet fee is only $10.00, and the park is a great place to walk the dog. The very efficient young ladies at the front desk included a dog treat with the check-in paperwork. Also included at check-in were coupons for an appetizer in the restaurant, and $7.00 per person off breakfast in the morning. The room itself was large and comfortable, and well-insulated for sound (in spite of the usual inconsiderate guests in the hallway at 1a.m....). I would only suggest that the desk be turned sideways, so a person can walk between the bed and the desk when someone is seated in the office chair. The TV is very large, with at least a hundred channels, but the sports channel we watched didn't seem to be in high-definition. And a brighter bedside lamp would have been appreciated. Otherwise, we loved this hotel, and will definitely remember it next time we're in the Oregon City area!
We have stayed in many Best Westerns and this is one of the nicest. It has a beautiful view of the river, the rooms are nice and clean. There is a restaurant on site in which breakfast is complimentary. I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.
I stay here regularly on business and have always had a great experience and will continue to stay here when i have business in the Portland area! As you might already know Best Westerns can be hit and miss, this one is always good and has a decent restaurant attached which is a plus
We had not stayed here in a few years. We were pleasantly surprised by all the work they have done. It was always nice, but they really did a nice job fixing it up since our last stay. The rooms are very comfortable, staff is very nice, location is great. One thing to note is that the security is very strong. The outside entrances all require a key to open. The only thing that could be improved is that the room doors slam if you aren't careful shutting them. Prices are not bad. They gave us discount coupons for the restaurant, which is quite good. I highly recommend staying here.
Great Staff from check in, check out and all the cleaning services provided during our 4 day/night stay. I stayed with my two daughters, 14 and 8, and the staff was very friendly and kind to us. I could not have been happier!
This is a very beautiful property with a river view. The room was great. Very easy to get to from I205 just south of Portland. There's a great park to walk if you prefer outside activity. And a restaurant connected to the hotel. There are also several other places if you want something different to eat.
All rooms face on the fast-moving Willamette River, so the view is always interesting. The rooms are roomy and comfortable. The adjacent restaurant offers good food and friendly servers. And we got a discount on our breakfast because we were staying at the hotel.
The restaurant has great staff and good food. The property felt safe and watched. It's a place to try to rest with its good and not so good. Rooms doors open weird and doors slam shut loudly shaking walls, restaurant/bar occasionally echo through and hotel is by a busy intersection right off freeway. Hotel is located in a convenient location, next to the river (the view is beautiful!), across from several stores/restaurants and near the freeway with a stunning river trail and dock steps away.
Staff is most impressive--so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Rooms are comfortable and, when entering, warm and inviting. The view of the river is calming and interesting--often with a bald eagle in view.
We have been staying at this hotel for over 20 years every year we travel to the area during the summer. We would not want to go anywhere else! Rooms are nice and comfortable, close to major travel routes, shopping and restaurants and onsite restaurant is great for breakfast.
Hotel Staff Helpful and efficient. Room very clean and comfortable. Private deck overlooking the River. Bar was nice and service great, however they had Karaoke that started at 9pm on Saturday, so I did not stay long. Breakfast was good and service was amazing considering there was a family reunion of at least 30 people, many who had not been served yet. Will stay there again.
The ladies that worked the night I stayed were upbeat, very welcoming and overall just awesome! When checking in I was offered to choose where I wanted to be. This is not always available. The staff went above and beyond to offer me assistance even though they were busy doing something else. When checking out the wonderful clerk let me know about promotional deals they were having asked me if I had time to sign up and offered to go through it with me. I felt like a valued guest. I come to Oregon city often and will stay here again!
This hotel stretches the length of the river so as to maximize the number of rooms looking on to the river. Comfortable rooms with pretty good internet. The staff were VERY friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good and we received discount coupons for breakfast that made it a very very good bargain
We have stayed at the Rivershore many times. Our stays are usually very enjoyable. The Rivershore has always been able to meet our requests. The staff at the hotel have always been polite. Love the river view.
Great location with a wonderful view of the river. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The accommodations were very clean and well kept. Restaurant food was good and every seat has a great view of the river. Plenty of parking during our stay and it was nicely quiet.
This hotel and its location is amazing for anyone who needs a large quiet room, convenience to everything including walking trails to ease the stresses of the day. The staff is helpful and experienced with regard to the business traveler's needs. Parking is also safe and secure.
This visit was a pleasant surprise. I had several negative hotel experiences elsewhere this year, so I wasn't expecting much of anything, but this place was great! Friendly staff, clean, convenient & reasonably priced - can't beat that!
A small, tidy but very cozy hotel. The service is very friendly and professional. The location of this hotel is very convenient and has easy access to go on a high way to go to the downtown or anywhere. The room is small but very cozy. If staying a few nights for business, the value is great.
The room was clean and comfortable so we will stay here again but we will not eat at the restaurant again. The service was good but the hamburger was one of the worst I have ever had and couldn't eat it. The breakfast was a little better but will find somewhere else to eat next time.
I love this hotel as you have read from my previous reviews of this site. The staff is over and beyond in customer detail and service. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I call this my home away from home. But in the past few months the wifi has deteriorated to the point I cannot depend on it to do my reports and weekend work at home/hotel. The staff tries rebooting it and the phone support person reports the equipment needs to be replaced. I have complained and comments are it is to be updated...but when? Unfortunately I must stay at another hotel that has accommodating wifi service when i would rather be at the Rivershore.
I had a nice room, view of the river, and a small balcony to enjoy the view. The staff could not have been more nice. Great restaurant attached to the hotel that had very good food. RIvershore is the name. The only downside is the location of my room was so far from the lobby the wi fi kept dropping off and I was not able to get much work done. Just to prove my point as soon as I exit my room with any device it was full strength. The staff did as much as they could and as through as can be. Which was nice. I would stay again. Just request a room close to the lobby.
Nice rooms with a great view of the river. Great location! Recently remodeled. Easy parking with parking for vehicles with trailers including semi truck! Nice pool and sauna. Friendly staff. Pretty good restraint.
I would stay here again definitely. Comfortable room, excellent river view. Professional Staffing. Adequate lounge and food service. Parking very convenient access from freeway very convenient, Starbucks across the street easily accessible with car.
The staff is always helpful and friendly. The rooms all have views of the river below. Great walking trails along river. Across from shopping and restaurants. Close freeway access. Nice restaurant. I stay here at least twice a month and either business or visiting with family and friends.
The hotel is nice with a beautiful view of the river. The staff is excellent! Management; top knotch! Very clean and comfortable, a wonderful place to stay, highly recommended. Prices are great. Will be back soon!
Have been staying at this property for 12 years (5-6 days/month), and have nothing but praise for the management and staff. I have always been treated as though I was their most important guest. I don't thank their employees often enough for their kindness toward me; a special thank you to Naomi and Nell. You will never go wrong staying at the Rivershore B/W, Oregon City, Oregon.
Great Hotel Very clean, Great location, Nice employees, Great Value This hotel is in a very clean part of town, close to some good restaraunts, not far from shopping. Has a great view, Walking paths and park. Not a far drive from anywhere in the Portland area. Very good people to deal with even though the guy at the front was a 49ers fan
I picked this hotel online in order to enjoy a mini vacation while visiting family in Oregon. The convenient local, river view, clean room, helpful staff and great restaurant made our stay relaxing and convenient.
I have stayed in many hotels in Portland when I come to visit my daughter. This is my favorite-the staff is exceptional. Jordan at the front desk and Julius in the restaurant are amazing. Very relaxing and cozy spot. I will be back!
This was my second visit here. I came 15 minutes out of my way because I got a good deal on a place with a balcony by the river. Live the quiet and convenient location. Asked for top floor and unobstructed view which I got. It's next to a marine park with paved paths and vote of distant waterfall. I like best western beanie of the following which were true of this place: exceptionally clean, vanity in different room from shower, toilet, magnification mirror, in room coffee, and a firm bed with good support. My back needed that. Pillow was comfortable enough I didn't need to bring in my own. Tea bags in the lobby. Besides the location, I was glad I came here because the front desk gal was very kind and friendly. For the second time as a rewards member I got free appetizer with purchase of entre and $7 for breakfast. Service on Tyne restaurant is not fast so I didn't do breakfast but dinner and appetizer was superb. Any were free including Ahi and clams. I got about 5 oz of Ahi. Not fancy but good and generous. My halibut cease salad was good and huge. Only about 3 oz of fish was for after all that ahi. The building is old and not perfect but I can relate. Modern carpet in Tyne hall was too thick to roll my suitcase on 4 wheels. Key worked fine every time. I like the decor. It fits the outdoor theme. The chair on the room reclined to my delight. I wish the shower had a shelf. Plenty Hot water and water pressure.
Beautiful setting on the Willamette River. Had a balcony and we were able to see all of the activities on the river which were present even in the fall. I found this hotel on the Best Western site . Usually stay in Best Western, but never here. It is off the beaten path, but is a great find. We will stay here again.
Need to bring building up to current building codes. I do not feel the facility should be rated a BW Plus unless everything is up to codes. Stayed 4 nights and the keys had to be updated every day. The shower was either full cold or full hot and would change without warning
Our water went out due to pump failure and I had to stay overnight in this hotel It was a lovely experience right across the river from my home town West Linn. I had to be to work the next day and I was able to get work done there, clean up and enjoy the good food, beautiful view and respectful happy staff.
My first time and I was mislead by the 4 star reviews. Water damage in all upper level rooms with black mold in rooms & in halls. Broken loud heater & clogged drain. Manager was beyond rude! Don't go!
I had an interview. Had a good experience. Could not check in early. Room service was good for size of hotel, but not your typical hotel service, they want you to take your own tray at the door...kinda strange. And housekkeping left it in the hallway.
No veteran's discount and we had to change rooms because the TV didn't work. The next room offered was supposed to be an upgrade but it was far smaller, noisier and didn't have the perks the first room had. Won't go there again.
Enjoyed staying here..very quiet. The employees were all very helpful and polite. I spent 44 days here and do not have one complaint. It was wonderful to run down to the lobby and fresh coffee was always available. Tea and hot chocolate were also available.
Clean room and bathroom, good bed mattress and pillows, quiet heater, what more can you ask for? Very convenient restaurant with the coupons for discounts to hotel guest. Brought the price of meals down to an extremely reasonable point.
The motel is very good , on a splended site and landscaping. Complaints are minimal. i. e. We wish there had been a Continental breakfast.. The bathroom door had a loud scweak, and the toilet had to be flushed three times or more to purge the bowl.
We were staying the night after my daughters surgery. The staff was very helpful and patient as we had to come late in the evening and needed a later checkout to accommodate her recovery from all the medications during surgery. Everyone was very helpful and they even had all the extras we requested in the room before we arrived. Thanks so much for a great stay!
Clean, well maintained. Nice staff. The only disappointment was that I arrived late and was unable to enjoy the beautiful location. The hotel sits right on one of Oregon's magnificent rivers.I will be back next July and plan to stay an extra day to enjoy the area.
Very pleasant experience at this hotel. We were only there for a quick stay after arriving at PDX and had some business in the Oregon City area the next day. The staff upon check in was extremely polite and helpful. The hotel has a unique layout with rooms above ground level and with interior hallways. The rooms are on one side facing the river which is nice. Room was quaint (you can read that as a little small) but large enough. Everything was clean and in nice condition, not extremely modern, but worked well. Here was the best part, the restaurant for breakfast was one of the best hotel omelets I have had in ages. Staff was polite and attentive. The restaurant is easily accessed from the second level of the hotel. Overall enjoyed having the river outside the room window, very polite staff and good location.
This hotel has a small town feel in the middle of a big metropolis. Even though it is right off of I-205 you would not know it. Having stayed here several times, I keep coming back when in Portland area. Beautiful view of river. Nice walking area. Close to Starbucks and McDonalds.
My sisters and I stayed here for a weekend trip for our cousin's wedding. The front desk staff was helpful when we arrived too early for check in, holding our bags as we wandered over to the McDonald's. We ultimately stayed on the top level, where the front door faced the busy highway and the backdoor faced the gorgeous river. No complimentary breakfast, but you do receive a coupon to eat at the attached restaurant. We went for breakfast and really enjoyed the meals, though the drinks seemed a bit overpriced. Beds weren't anything special, but I always love when the hotel offers amenities including makeup wipes and nicer shampoo/conditioner/etc. Overall, we would stay here again, just to enjoy the river view - which is also easy to walk to and skip rocks at.
We needed to find a place near a friends home for a birthday party in West Linn. This was the perfect place. super easy access to the freeway (205). We had a room on the third floor overlooking the river we just sat relaxed for a while watching the boats go by. the room was very nicely decorated and super clean (I tend to be kind of picky on that point). At check in we also received a $7 (each) voucher for breakfast at the restaurant in the complex. A very nice stay!
good room nice view of river from balcony. Parking leaves a little to be desired. Good restaurant. Also McDonalds in walking distance. Good beds etc. would stay again if go to Oregon city. Liked the view of the river from the balcony.
The location is right in the river and a park. A little noise from the bridge traffic but the view made up for that. No continental breakfast unless you took a voucher to the restaurant. Good was good but the value of the coupon got you coffee, juice and a muffin only. Had to upgrade for more and tip a waitress. Ok for me but may be a concern to some travelers. The voucher was $7. So if you upgrade, that amount is deducted off the bill. The hotel is comfortable and easy to get to places. Would stay there again for sure.
Hotel was great. No complaints. The restaurant however has no customer service whatsoever. The do not have room service until 8:00 and judging by the way I had to wait just to get a pot of coffee and 2 muffins to take back to my room, I am sure the wait for room service, when they decide to offer it, would be VERY SLOW.
This hotel was both clean and quiet. It offered a small balcony ( enough for two) to sit and enjoy your coffee while looking at the River and bridge not to far away. In addition, they have a very nice restaurant and are located within walking distance to a strip mall with numerous stores and restaurants. I would highly recommend a stay here.
The location of the hotel is great. the room is clean and the service is good. It was a good hotel for the area. Restaurant is good. good view. Although the room is small but it was okay. The housekeeping is great. the housekeeping is right on time.
One of the prettiest motels I've ever stayed at, Right on the river, and for those who like high steel bridges, there's one within view. The room was spacious, good for twin sharing as the sink was outside, but behind a wall so that the light didn't wake the other person. Quality balcony furniture was much appreciated. Very clean, comfortable and convenient with great view too.
Stayed at the Rivershore while we were waiting for our home to close in Oregon City. Not many options for us to have our Blue Heeler with us so we chose the Rivershore and also because we are Best Western Members. Loved the location close to the river: watching the fisherman, walking the dog on the trail in addition to the areas at the hotel for the pets, and close to shopping. The room was clean, comfy and nice as was the bed. Breakfast voucher a plus and grandkids loved the pool! Would recommend to family and friends.
No need to consider any other Hotel in the Portland area. Great Room, Great Staff; and excellent meals. Even though I could have stayed closer to my appointment the Rivershore was more than worth the few extra minutes of driving time. Thanks Again, I'll return often.
Everything was really nice about this place. An indoor pool would have been awesome, but due to the time of year I can understand why the outdoor pool was closed. My only complaint, the coffee machine was not clean in our room. Old grounds were still in the machine and who knows how old they were... Other than that everything was fine, Even the freeway noise wasn't a deal breaker for us.
We found this hotel, with it's accompanying restaurant very pleasant to stay in. If I'd realized that the bath tubs had a jacuzzi, I may have brought some bubble bath :-) The quality of the coffee was poor, but that's pretty standard in most hotels I've stayed in. The good news is that there was a Starbucks nearby.
We have family in South East Portland and we enjoy staying at Riverside whenever we visit. The hotel upgrades often and is close to shopping for anything we might need. The restaurant is convienient and the food and serve is excellent. We will be back again and again!
Excellent place to stay. Close to McDonalds and a park. Convenient and close to freeway. Rooms are clean, private, and secure. Staff were helpful. Parking is convenient. Highly recommend staying here.
Perfect location. Convenient and quality restaurant attached to the hotel. Clean rooms. Great view. Friendly and hospitable staff. Very welcoming environment. I will stay here when I visit again in the future.
Great hotel, wonderful location, outstanding lounge and restaurant! Great little hiking trail right across the street along the river. Super access to nearby highways. The staff were warm, friendly, and most helpful!
Had business in Tualatin and decided to stay at the Rivershore because of the view of the Willamette river. The view was hampered by the smoke from the fire, but it was still a good view. The room (211) was clean, smelled fresh and was quiet because of the river view. I had a good night's rest. Breakfast at the adjoining hotel was good too. You get a $7.00 off coupon for food. All in all, a good stay. I'd stay again.
Location was great. Rooms not very clean. Windows were filthy. Staff was attentive and helped with complaints to the best of their ability. Not sure if we would stay here again. If this is a Plus, I don't think we will EVER say in a no-plus facility.
We booked this hotel while heading down from Hood River. I was disappointed when I realized that it was right next to the I-5. Because we were famished after a long drive from Sandpoint, we ate at the restaurant attached. What a great idea! We had steamed clams as our appy (were given a free coupon when we checked in). Wine was $10 off per bottle on a Sunday night so had a great Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington for $17. We shared a 14oz Prime Rib meal. We paid an extra $2 for them to split it & had a feast! The prime rib was tender & the vegetables were fresh & grilled (zucchini, carrots, green beans). Delicious!! Of course the baked potato was loaded & more than enough! Totally unexpected great restaurant!
We always stay at Best Western when traveling and there are rooms available the staff was very helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great restaurant on site. We enjoyed complimentary appetizer with our dinner and loved the breakfast option. It was easy to get to right off the interstate. Will stay again when in the area. We highly recommend this hotel.
Very nice stay! The only problem was someone smoking in the non-smoking room next to ours and the smell filtered into our room. Otherwise, we enjoyed the location that was right next to parks and a river. Oregon City is also very pleasant.
Our family came from all over for a wedding. They would not give us group rates, but still a decent place. A bit outdated and tub/tile needs work. Staff were all wonderful, especially housekeeping. I woyld stay again but would probably opt for river view rather than roof under repair view.
When I arrived at the hotel I was kind of disappointed as it said it was on the river. It is but has tree blockage and a road in between. It was nice to be able to walk over to the river with the dog. The hotel staff was nice and helpful at check in and check out. The restaurant was nice but the service was very lacking. For dinner the waitress was not the friendliest and the fan above my customer was blowing dust on him while he ate. Cleanliness was not the best. Morning breakfast was good and the service was great considering the waitress was the only person there so she had to juggle multiple tasks. Overall the Hotel is OK and it looks like they are trying to update the location so I will check back next time down on business.
I'm away on business a lot and at Best Western Rivershore they always treat me as I'm the president of their company. They go out of their way for you. They have an excellent restaurant that is attached to the hotel. They have recently remodeled and every room has a beautiful river view.
awesome very helpful staff. nice hotel rooms, great spacious bathroom, shower with 2 heads 1 fixed and the second attached to a wand, and a stool for cleaning and other "reasons". The wifi was great, my only complaint was the bed was firmer than I'm used to.
Pretty good experience. Staff was great. Only complaints: peeling wallpaper which is dated. Room seemed clean. Bed not too uncomfortable but not excellent. Great place to rest your head if you are busy sight seeing.
The Best Western Plus Rivershore Inn is a clean, well maintained property that is aging very well. All rooms have a great view of the Willamette River and just 2 blocks from the entrance to the sportscraft landing and river park. Recommend when making a reservation whether it on-line or directly with the hotel be sure to note the confirmation number. The front desk staff is very friendly and will take the time to chat about almost anything. The on-line reservations don't always coincide with hotel's reservation system. One of the perks of staying at the Rivershore is their affiliation with the contracted on-site bar and restaurant. Each guest is given a $7 breakfast voucher and each room is given free dinner appetizer with purchase of 2 bar drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Additionally, the bar has very reasonable prices that can turn a couple of appetizers into a complete dinner. For those traveling on a budget, there is a MacDonald's across the street. One downside is the small elevator. If you require the use of the luggage cart you may find its only one person and cart, additional folks will have to wait for the next elevator. Would I stay here again, yes.
Best Western Plus Rivershore Hotel is an interesting venue located on a bluff above the Clackamas River, Oregon City. Friendly staff, help and accommodating. This hotel, although dated, is under going some upgrades, none of which interrupt the quiet location and awesome views of the Clackamas River. The hotel has limited onsite parking when the hotel is full, but there is free overflow parking on the street. The hotel has an nice onsite pool and separate onsite restaurant. Ideally located close to major thoroughfares and freeways to major sites/attractions and into Portland. This location is close to shopping and boutique eating and micro pubs. When we have occasion to past through Portland/Oregon City area we will stay at this hotel.
The location was very centralized. The hotel situates between Woodburn (where the Tulips Festival was) and the Columbia River Gorge. It only took us 30-40 to each location. The staff was very friendly and professional. They even lend me an umbrella before we drove out to Woodburn. The one thing that we was not please was the view from our room, #404. It overlooked the rooftop of the lower building. A few mornings when were were there, we saw maintenance guys came in and out to talk on their phone, so we couldn't open our curtain/blind until they went back in. The patio has the AC unit from the adjacent room sticking out into our patio side. It was running and blowing dirt into our face when we tried to sit outside.
We stayed here for two nights to be within easy driving distance to the total solar eclipse zone. The front desk staff were helpful and welcoming - even offering us eclipse glasses if we didn't have them. The room was clean and of sufficient size for two adults and two very large dogs. We had a balcony overlooking the Willamette River, which added to the ambiance. We took the trail across the road from the hotel to a nice river park, where people and dogs could play in the water. Most shopping, except for grocery, is at a mall across the street on the opposite side of the building. We paid way too much for our stay, but that was due to supply and demand - the solar eclipse. Their normal price is reasonable. We also paid extra per dog per night, rather than a simple per night fee, which is more fair - especially since one of our dogs doesn't shed and the other is a light shedder.
The best thing about this hotel is that the rooms overlook the Willamette River. The location is convenient for travel either north or south on I-205. The rooms were clean and quiet during our stay. The coupons for reduced price for breakfast at the adjacent restaurant were a bonus. Sure, it is not new and completely updated, but is was fine for the rice.
Rooms and carpets were very dirty and stained. We had a three night stay, and were promised every day that the carpet would be cleaned, and it never was done. Poor housekeeping service and the hotel is in need of an update. Billing was also not correct and required a conversation with the desk versus our normal express check out. To many hassles and broken promises with this hotel. Stay somewhere else.
Raised the rates three times over and we left several days before the eclipse. Also quit servicing the room when the rates went up.Have stayed here before but won't make that mistake again. Will find a better place to stay and meet family and friends
The staff is always friendly and helpful. The hotel sits in a lovely location overlooking the river, close to parks for walks, and near by shopping and downtown Oregon City. Easy on and off 205 freeway access. Breakfast staff is a bit short handed in the mornings and breakfast tends to arrive a little tired. Other than that, the rooms are comfortable and quiet.
If you're looking for a fast, very very simple and plain place on the road for one night, then this is acceptable. Relatively clean, on a busy road so it's easy to get in and out and park but heavy traffic and dull surroundings. If you're looking for something special, unique or interesting, I would look somewhere else. if you want fast food and really dull chain stores nearby, then this is ok. It's in desperate need of an overhaul and full renovation. It was fine for a fast stay - but overpriced for the quality and a really dull town/area. I don't plan to return. Thanks for the polite service at check in.
One of only a few hotel options in the Oregon City area. Older hotel, but room was reasonably clean and hotel staff was helpful. River view was nice and quiet and the bed was comfortable. We did not try the hotel restaurant/breakfast. Staff was helpful and accommodating.
Decent enough hotel right off the freeway. Great views of the river and not a bad walk into historic Oregon City. We were able to walk in to have diner, ride the elevator and walk down to view the waterfall. There is a McDonalds right next door and a restaurant and shopping center across the street. We had a nice breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Rooms were what you would expect from a Best Western, we would have no problems staying again.
Great access from and to the Interstate. Rooms were very nice and the staff were courteous and professional. We did a family reunion and loved staying here. The lounge for a night cap was great and the breakfast we had was right on the river which was very nice.
This hotel is on the banks of the Willamette river, just north of the 205 freeway. We enjoyed our pleasant stay at this hotel, with a river-view balcony. The rooms could use a little updating but I'm not complaining as they were clean and quiet. The voucher system for $7.00 credit for breakfast at their hotel resturant was a bit different. We were only allowed 2 vouchers for our family of 3, so I ate overnight oats in the hotel room while my family ate at the hotel restaurant. I would have preferred a self-service breakfast that all of us could have ate together at our own pace. I did ask for an additional voucher but was told no.
Reservation made 3 months in advance. 2 night stay $300 more than expected, reason - we can charge what we want to. Room AC couldn't cool room. Stains and dirty feeling carpet. Shear drapery had tares running through it,
The room in this hotel was clean and comfortable. Also, the view of the river was great! This is a 4 story hotel that it fairly long. We were in room 336, which is at the far end of the hotel. The check in process was very smooth - we were issued room keys that operate the elevator and unlock the door. We had a very hard time calling the elevator with the keys, and they would not open the room door. I had to walk the entire length of the hotel to get new keys. The second set of keys worked well. Be warned - the elevator is old and you can get stuck in it. My wife was riding the elevator with another group of people who got off on the second floor (she was going to the third floor). After the group left the elevator, the door closed and the elevator would not move! The door wouldn't open and my wife needed to call for help. She was stranded in the elevator for approximately 10 minutes. It was a warm day, and she was very stressed regarding the entire situation. The hotel's response was not very acceptable - they said that this has happened in the past and that it is not good to be stuck in the elevator. I feel that they should have been way more apologetic! Not sure if we'll return to this hotel.
Stay away. Find another hotel for the same price point and you'll enjoy yourself more. the view of the river is the only thing memorable of our stay at this motel. TV choices really suck. For the price, it felt like a ripoff
We always enjoy our stay at this hotel!! It fulfills all our needs, is close to our son's house and the view by the river is so serene. An added feature is the RV park down the street where we can walk to and enjoy a little hiking and kayaking. It's in walking distance to shopping and restaurants. It is also easy to access the freeways.
This is a reasonably managed Best Western. Clean room, average restaurant (but the breakfast waitress provided great service...very attentive and she comped me the $7 coupon when I realized I left it in my room). Very convenient location right off I-205 and about a 10-minute walk to downtown Oregon City. The only negatives: * Very worn furnishings in my room (it's due for a refurb) * Fantastic view of I-205 from my balcony. There are earplugs in the nightstand but with the door closed, it's not much of a noise issue.
We like staying at this Best Western as it is very conveniently located right off of 205 and near family living in Clackamas. They have a restaurant located on site which is very convenient and the hotel accommodates people traveling with pets. There is a small park right next door to the hotel.
Stopped here on my way home from a business trip. Location is awesome...sits right along the Willamette River in Oregon. Room was large and comfortable. Dinner was great in the restaurant. You have to try the Lemon-berry cake..reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. View was awesome from our room. Enjoyed a nice breakfast before getting back on the road. Will be my new stopping point when traveling through Oregon City, Oregon
Have stayed multiple times in this hotel and love overlooking Willamette River. Rooms are spacious. Only disappointment is having only 2 selections for breakfast within voucher amount and coffee NOT included.
One of the best service I have ever experienced.the hotel is clean and provides u great hospitality. The staffs were very helpful.great food and view.can wait for my next trip, really enjoy the shopping center just walking distance form the hotel.
The only reason we chose this outdated hotel with the death trap elevator and expensive breakfast was the pool. We came back from shopping and found the pool closed - until two days after our scheduled check out date. No notice. Overpriced, ridiculous fluctuating rates based on nothing, and definitely not worth it. Beware the shower is inconsistent between freezing and scalding. Horrible.
NOISY, NOISY, NOISY. Front desk ignored my request for a quieter room at check in. Desk clerk more focused on her fingernail polish than my concerns. Looks nearby for better options, such at the Holiday Inn Express
Although a bit pricier than I would like, we love the view from the room and are willing to pay a bit more for this. A pleasant and quality place to stay. Since you want me to use more characters, will fill up some more room with this sentence. l
A great place to stay when visiting the Portland Oregon area. I had transportation provided by family but there is ample parking available. Across the street are various stores for convenience especially if you forgot something or need some snacks or refreshments.
This is a decent hotel in a nice location on the Willamette River. The attached restaurant was good for breakfast but just average for dinner. We had a nice room facing the river, but it could have been a little cleaner.
A bit overpriced, noisy by section doors (they are loud when they close, sounding like someone slammed them). Good breakfast, but only received voucher for one day and not both like advertised. Nice view of the river, nice balcony. Overall, better than some I have stayed at when traveling.
Rest, relax and rejuvenate your body and soul in this beautiful hotel situated right next to the Willamette River and next to the Jon Storm Park in Oregon City. The rooms are furnished beautifully and the connecting restaurant has wonderful fare for all to enjoy.
We did not know the area at all. Just booked on line and was pleasantly surprised by the walking distance to the Clacamette Park and Jon Storm Park. We stayed 4 days in this Hotel and enjoyed the breakfast. The indoor hot tub and outdoor pool, Small but clean. The only problem is in the daytime they were fixing the roof and we were on 4th floor which is extremely noisy. After suffering for 3 days, we requested the hotel change the room for us. We were changed to a third floor which is the river view. We are very pleased!
Me and my wife stayed here for one night and to start off checking in was very easy with very friendly staff. They gave us a free appetizer for dinner and two $7 off coupons towards breakfast. Also describing where the room was located was very easy to understand. Our room faced the river with a balcony with minimal traffic on the road just below our room. We had a great view watching the sunset and watching some of the boats going by. The room itself was a great size with a huge bed, along with a comfortable chair. Also we had a small desk with a comfortable office style chair. The only small complaints was some of our "neighbors" were a little loud but our sleeping experience was quiet. We ended up eating both dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it seemed very short handed but the staff was friendly. The food was nothing to special but it was good. It was nice having a restaurant at the hotel so we didn't have to drive anywhere (not many places nearby). Our food at breakfast tasted a little undercooked but it was still nice to not worrying about driving anywhere. The hotel was close to downtown Oregon City but the main road is a little busy to walk along but it is a short drive. If you are in the area again looking for a place to stay that has a great view, a restaurant and quiet then stay at the Best Western Plus Rivershore Hotel.
Had dinner at restaurant and extremely disappointed. Chose this hotel as we had a long day of driving and had another 10+day drive a head of us. We were supposed to be able to get some type of breakfast but we waited and waited and could NOT even get sat down!
Views of the Clackamas river and the Wilamette with great walking paths. Motel everywhere is very clean with great restaurant and great food. Very easy to get to airport. Very easy to get to downtown Oregon City.
The Best Western Plus Rivershore building is long, tall, and narrow. All rooms are on the side that faces the Willamette River. This provides a pleasant view to all customers. The view can be enjoyed from inside the room or from the balconies, which all rooms have (or apparently to this reviewer, all rooms have). There is a walkway along the Willamette across the road from the building. There is also a larger park to the north of the building. The park extends to the point where the Clackamas River flows into the Willamette. The rooms were clean and fairly standard in terms of amenities. A full service restaurant is attached to the hotel. There is no complimentary breakfast, but a discount coupon was provided for breakfast at that restaurant. Depending on one's preferences for breakfast, this can be an advantage or disadvantage. Many of the flourishes associated with this hotel are external to the hotel itself. I choose to rate the experience of the hotel, itself, as average. Having stated that, it should be noted that this average was good enough for us to stay several times over the years and we always found the staff to be polite and cooperative.
Homeless people at night. At the south end of the hotel is a park, with restrooms which are open all night long. They could have free entry into the hotel parking lost, is not gated. It not safe to take a morning walk by the river.
We were given a room adjoining another. The other room was full of what sounded like a Frat party until the sun was coming up. Then the powder coaters started on outside of our building. No water pressure when we showered. Worst BW experience ever. So disappointed and we stayed there last minute so I'm sure we were charged way more than normal.
This Best Western Plus hotel is very nice for a small suburb on the edge of Portland. You will be out of the way, out of the noise, and out of the traffic. The hotel sits near the walkway along the river and historic Willamette Falls. The entire area is scheduled for renovation, so there is lots to see and places to stop for a nice quiet walkabout.
Great views of the river, nice room for the price. Close to everything. Breakfast is in the nearby restaurant with a voucher, but only covers part of meal. However, the food is great. My only gripe is it is a bit noisy due to the nearby freeways. Other than that my room was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of TV channels to watch! Oh and of course free Wifi... woohoo
The best hotel in Oregon City! The room's we're a little bit small but it was clean and very nice. I would recommend getting the river view room. Fitness Room was okay and the spa and pool is amazing. They also offer coupons for their restaurant.
hotel needs a place to sit while waiting, to check in, outside, staff was very cordial and receptive , all employees were gracious and receptive, property was very clean and well lite at night time, really liked the landscaping
Hot tub could be hotter. Clean room easy access to the freeway. Good food found near by. I will be staying here again in the future. Just wont use the hot tub. The tv connection was not that good channels were at static
This Best Western property is located at the McLaughlin Blvd. exit off I-205, with easy access to the ramps in both directions. The location makes it perfect if you have business anywhere south of Portland (Lake Oswego, Milwaukie, West Linn, Tigard, Mollala, etc), and it's a straight 20-25 minute shot from the airport. It's not expensive, but it's well maintained and comfortable. The staff was very nice. There is a restaurant on site, but I didn't try it. McLaughlin Blvd. is a busy 4-lane with lots of eateries too. I give it only 4 stars, because it's not a 5 star property. It's a Best Western, and it's perfectly fine, especially given the price. I'd gladly stay there again.
Decore of room was very inviting and a little different than most other Best Westerns. The staff kept their eye out for some very important documents that were arriving by express mail. They were there when I arrived. The view from my room was of the Willemette River and that was very enjoyable. I would definitely use this hotel again in the future and would recommend it to others
Stayed 3 nites, over a weekend. Quiet. Very friendly staff. Seems like newer carpet in rooms. Vouchers for breakfast at the rivershore restaurant. Shopping across the street. Also walked the path along the river. Nothing fancy, but just what we needed.
Staff very friendly, efficient and directed. Ready to help you if needed. Rooms had everything needed for comfortable pleasant stay- Recommend ! Without reservation or hesitation. Their product will fulfill your requirements, good locations for many activities; extremely pleasant and suitable to have guests for a visit.
Good for the price. Good location with shopping center across the street, Starbucks too. Close to freeway. Check-in and check-out was very easy. The privately owned restaurant attached to the hotel was okay.
Enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly. Clean and rooms are quite. Enjoyed the river view! Good restaurant and lounge. Thank you for the breakfast vouchers and VIP drink/appetizer voucher. Grandson enjoyed the pool, which is outside, heated, clean, and well maintained. Hot tub was also relaxing.
Great room, Room faces the river. We enjoyed the view and balcony. Got free tokens for the breakfast in the neighboring restaurant. Awesome breakfast and nice morning. FREE parking. Just miles away from expensive Portland.
This was a nice location for the hotel. We had a nice view of the river. The staff was also friendly. We were given two coupons: one for a free appetizer with an order of 2 drinks and $10 off for breakfast. We took advantage of both and enjoyed it. This was a busy place for the hotel and restaurant but everyone seemed to be very friendly. The room was clean and the bathroom was a nice size. The only downsize was the thin walls. I woke up twice to a thumping noise which turned out to be a dog wagging its tail against the wall in the next room. There are LED lights all over the room so I had to wear an eye mask to sleep. We thought it was a good experience for the price.
The room was very clean, and we really enjoyed the river side park across the street (from the attached deck, and for walks). The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the restraurant was convenient and the lounge fun. It is very close to the freeway, and there is a strip mall with drug store, Starbucks, and sporting goods store just across the street to the north. We would not hesitate to stay here again for business or leasure.
We had to move out of the first room. It was heavy with a chemical room freshener that coated my tongue and gave me a headache. The staff immediately tried to air out the room with fans while we went to dinner. We had to move to a different room. The walls are very thin. We heard the couple with children come in at 11pm. They woke us up. They let the kids jump on the beds. Very annoying.
The staff was very rude upon check in. They were not helpful about resolving the issues. Upon trying to contacting management with these issues they were non-responsive. We would not stay at this hotel nor recommend it to anyone.
The hotel was a surprise. It overlooks the Willamette River and the balcony gives you the chance to relax and find peace in the surroundings. Room was clean, neat and comfortable. The park across the street provided an excellent chance to exercise. There was some noise from a nearby freeway, but wasn't uncomfortable or unable to sleep. (They did provide ear plugs in case you were bothered) Loved the experience and wish we could have stayed longer.
lousy towels, rough, bathrooms dirty every time I have stayed at this property, front desk staff generally friendly but do not go out of their way to be helpful, not very accommodating to meet requests - food at restaurant OK, overpriced - guest room attendants were helpful for getting extra towels/blanket etc. - carpet worn out throughout hotel - convenient area with stores near by and highway access to 205 -
Great location along the river. The staff were very helpful and friendly at check in. There is free tea and coffee in the lobby. The rooms are dated but clean and bright. You get coupons for breakfast at their restaurant but we found the food greasy and cold. The room was quiet for me but too noisy for hubby. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom had enough towels. Parking in the parking lot later in the evening was impossible and we ended up parking on the street along the river. It also had an elevator that only registered guest could use with their room key. Nice safety feature. There is a great shopping plaza across the street from the hotel.
Great place to over night if you are a snowbird. Great hotel with restaurant attached plus the hotel is pet friendly? Food is great and if you book direct you get a $7.00 pp voucher for breakfast. Dinner was great took advantage of room service.
We always stay here when we visit our children in Portland. The staff is well-trained and pleasant. The facility is clean, comfortable and well appointed. We especially appreciate the recognition we receive as returning guests. The breakfast and happy hour arrangements are pleasant and appreciated. We are never disappointed. And the river view is a bonus.
Nice place to stay looking out on Oregon City's river. We had a number of directions to radiate out to in the Portland/Salem area. All were easily accessible from the BW Oregon City location. Nice staff. Clean, comfortable. I did miss having a year around (indoor pool) during this cooler weather time of year - but not a deal breaker. We would definitely stay there again.
Very good hotel. The A/C is nosey and when it comes on I had to turn up the volume on the TV to hear the program. The sink was very slow to drain. Good service and good exercise room. I would recommend this hotel.
Started off wrong from the start. Made reservations for two nights and they had us down for one. Not a problem since they weren't booked. The room appeared clean but it smelled bad. They put us in a room next to the lounge for Saturday night. Guess what, Saturday night is karaoke night. Racket till the wee hours!! To top it off they have very limited parking so when we returned from having dinner in town there wasn't a parking spot to be found. Had to park down the street. It's Portland so of course it was raining. We'll skip this place in the future.
We wanted to go somewhere just to get away for our anniversary. Neither of us could get off work so we wanted to make the most of the short time. The hotel has everything: Restaurant, bar, view of the river, very friendly staff and close to shopping.
I like this hotel if they could get it right. It's a good price, clean and friendly. Unfortunately, our requests are overlooked, we were put in the wrong room that didn't fit our family and we were told it was an upgrade (it wasn't). We asked for a crib, it wasn't there when we arrived and had to wait for the one busy staff member to go find us one. We asked for a room next to the elevator, and we got a room almost as far away from the elevator as possible. Very frustrating as these errors happen every single time we stay there.
Great Location - right on the river with excellent views from every room. Restaurant has tasty meals - especially breakfast. Old Town Oregon City - the end of the pioneer trail - is a unique place to walk around. Good value for the rooms.
We were pleasantly surprised. Check in was very efficient and professional. Beautiful room very comfortable bed. Beautiful view of the river. The only negative with our stay was the parking was limited do to construction. Our breakfast in the on premeses resturant good.
Called to get a rate quote for an upcoming stay and front desk agent JORDAN was beyond rude!!! If this is the way that the staff at this hotel treats its potential guests, then I don['t want to have anything to do with this hotel!! I really don't understand how the staff is able to get away with talking to guests that way---I'll take my business elsewhere and tell everyone I come into contact with DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS HOTEL!!!
The rooms are nice, the water pressure in the bathrooms is fantastic. The bathrooms do need a fan that works though. It gets pretty steamy after a shower. The restaurants and bar are good. The food is good and the room service is ok (they told us 20 minutes and it took 45) and it's pricy for what you get. There are not enough towels in the bathroom for more than one and a half people. There are 2 tiny pillows on the bed. If you like more towels or pillows call or ask for them before you arrive. The rooms are clean, the cups are all wrapped in plastic, the heat and a/c work. The view is nice. When we were there the elevator broke and we had an injured person and 2 babies. They did give us a small credit. It was unfortunate. Still a decent place to stay.
I decided to stay here because it was closer to the meeting I was attending in West Linn. From the outside they are doing a exterior renovation so it's kind of looks like it is under construction. The hotel was easy to find off the highway. Check in was smooth. The room was clean and spacious. I at dinner and breakfast at the restaurant attached to the hotel, and a beverage at the bar. I used the fitness room and it was ok, but could have used a newer treadmill and someway to clean up behind you, even simple Clorox wipes. All in all I would never hesitate to stay here again. A much cheaper alternative to downtown Portland.
Lets cover the good first, then the bad and finish with the ugly! Good, included an easy check in, really nice people in the office. Parking a little tight because the remodel is still going on and they are storing materials in about 10 or 12 under cover parking places. When you check in, you receive a coupon for $7 for each person in the party to eat breakfast at the attached restaurant. There is also an appetizer coupon for the evening that we did not use. It is not the hotels restaurant but run separately by a private party. Rooms appear to have been redone since we stayed about 3 years ago. Nicely done and still looking pretty well preserved. There is a small balcony with a tiny table and a couple of wicker type chairs. Nice to sit out on during the warmer months. TV worked well, lots of programs and could not hear neighbors but then we don't know if we had any. If we did, the walls are good. Room was clean, except for a carpet problem. All the rooms look out onto the dead end surface street that passes by and you also have the lovely river view. Street is pretty quiet even though it has traffic. There are no rooms facing directly to the high way on the other side of the hotel, just the interior hallway faces that way. The freeway is to the left when looking out from your balcony and there is a little traffic noise but very minor. I would guess the freeway to be about a hundred yards away. If you would like to take a walk in that direction, there is a nice little park next to the river with restrooms and some interpretive signs about the area. Under the term bad, I would say to have a coat on during the winter when you are in the halls because the inside halls do not appear to have heater vents and it was a little nippy in the hall, my wife says it was downright cold. We actually took a bath towel and laid it along the bottom of the door inside the room to keep out the cold hall draft. There are new in wall heater/air units in the rooms. Not the quietest I have experienced so we turned it off during the night and flipped a coin to see who got up in the morning to turn it on. LOL. Another bad is the carpet in our room had large stains near the door. Three or four 6 to 8" size stains that really looked bad. Carpet should be replaced in the area because it makes you think what else is not clean in the room. Those spots were so out of place in the otherwise clean room. We think the halls had new carpeting. The desk chair was also dirty with stains and we sat on a towel when using it. Nice, adequate closet space. Sink is around the corner before entering the tub/shower area where the commode is, (that means toilet for you youngsters). We stayed 2 nights and the maid service was exceptional. We were short on towels though but we survived. Now for the, ugly! I have never heard a bathroom ceiling fan as loud as this one, until the neighbor turned theirs on! Why do you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to remodel a place and leave in a very loud fan? It also had a flood night in the socket with the fan. It was not a heat lamp, just a flood. There was a microwave that had scorch marks in it in the bedroom area. A refrigerator that kept going on and off with the most irritating wine sound you can imagine. After a couple of hours I got up and un-plugged it. Slept well the rest of the night! By the way, loved the comforters, they keep you warm, but not hot. Mattresses were perfect. lots of pillows but we bring our own. We didn't want to get up in the morning. We will stay here again. Prices are a little high but after seeing other places with lower prices that were down right ugly, we chose to stay here and are happy we did. Now a word about using your coupon for the restaurant. I would have to say it was okay, maybe a 3 out of 5. Lots of food but not the best in flavor. Give it a try, don't waste the coupons. Our second morning was only $1, so we tipped well but then the service was exceptional!
First off this is my first stay at this hotel but I am a Diamond member I have stayed at many BW hotels. This hotel is under repair and parking is tight for anything other than a small car. The front desk staff was polite but seemed unsure of processes. So as to not sound pretentious room upgrades, acknowledgement and often a water and treat are part of being a Diamond member. None of these happened. I did ask for an upgrade eventually and they moved me from a single queen to a double queen. I guess that is an upgrade. She handed me a coupon for a free appetizer if I bought an entree at the restaurant. I asked if there was breakfast. She said I hadn't purchased that option. I didn't know what she meant so she explained that since I had booked on Expedia and had not selected the breakfast option that I was not entitled to one. I advised her I had booked on the BW app. She then said I did get a breakfast and gave me a voucher for 7 dollars which only covered 2 out of the 20 breakfast options and that didn't include juice or coffee. I got to the elevator and boy is it small. 2 people with one bag each might fit with someone pushing from the outside. Also requires your key card to use it. Got to my room complete with a popcorn ceiling and light fixture from the 70s. The beds were comfy and the A/C and heater worked well. The Bathroom had mildew on the walls in a few places and the shower head was 7.5 feet up. I could barely reach it and the lowest it would spray was the back of the tub. They can take off the extension that was added and it would be just right. Also, the faucet on the tub will not hold position so the temp changes during your shower. All of the hooks for the shower curtain were open and the soap and shampoo are not what is depicted online. They were of poor quality. The WiFi worked well but the TV was very dim even with the lights off. I tried to get into the setting to adjust the brightness but there was no such option. I described my breakfast experience in another post. It was not a good one.
Generally the hotel is clean and I like that it accepts pets but every time I go there the staff is very argumentative and rude (the Hispanic daytime girl). She has no problem calling a guest a liar in so many words and is very condescending. Every time I have stayed there she has started with me about something and made me regret going there. To bad its the only hotel in Oregon City or I would probably never go there again until she was fired (which she needs to be).
Got a great rate here and since I travel for business and have a limited budget this was a great find. A few not so good items first- The hotel is currently being renovated but it did not seem to disturb any of the hotels daily business operations. Second- the traffic is horrendous at this exit. Did I say horrendous? Expect dead stop traffic any time around the morning or evening rush hours. That being said the staff was very friendly and there are great views of the river if you are on that side of the property. The restaurant and bar seemed to be patronized by locals and the food was good and fast and the staff was friendly. The property is older but well maintained with large rooms, comfortable beds, large fluffy towels and very clean. I didn't recall any smell that others reviewers had mentioned, smelled just fine to me. The rooms had new large screen TVs with a good channel selection and microwaves and refrigerators. Big bathroom and large desk with table and two chairs. Even had a porch with chairs to view the river. I definitely would stay here again. It was more than a bargain for the price I paid. Make sure you ask for a room facing the river.
I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is great and will go out of their way to make you feel at home. I'm on the road quite often on business so its nice when you get this type of service. On this last trip because of construction i got a room that didn't fit my needs but when I got it to their attention they immediately found a room the fit my needs.
The first thing people should know is about the single old elevator and how tiny it is. The luggage cart is literally exactly as long as the elevator is deep. And they don't turn. So when you push it in, you cannot turn it so you can get in. You have to get in first and then pull it in. Before you do that, send anyone with you up first so they can help you get the cart out of the elevator. The next thing is that the hotel cranks the heat up so high that they open the windows in the hall to make it bearable. Then third thing is the odor. Oh my goodness, the staff uses strong scents to cover up the age of the hotel and the use it's had. Also, the restaurant is SUPER EXPENSIVE for what you get. This is not how it used to be. Seriously. It used to be a 5 star experience. Oh how the mighty have fallen. We now stay elsewhere. And that is sad.
I have always enjoyed staying at this hotel. The views are amazing, the service and employees are attentive, the check-in/out process couldn't be any easier. I always recommend this hotel to people when asking where is a good, safe place to stay with excellent rates and clean rooms.
Typical BW hotel room with comfy bed, fridge and microwave, coffee in room, pool, attached restaurant ( more on that later), a little dated but clean and comfy. They are renovating the exterior right now, nice to see updates coming. Almost every room has a balcony with nice views of the Willamette River. No ground floor rooms but there are elevators. Good parking (some covered) and easy access to I-205. Close to downtown Oregon City - easy walk or drive to several bars and restaurants, which you should check out because it's a neat town. Very close to Lake Oswego area too. There is a McDonalds next door and Shari's across the street. Excellent dog walking along the riverside park and bike path right by the hotel. Friendly homeless people do frequent the park - not really an issue but they are there. Instead of a cramped "breakfast room" like you find in so many BW's, there is an actual sit-down restaurant on site. You'll get coupons for a discount on check in ($8/person) so a very decent breakfast won't cost much - but wont be "free" either unless you order the least thing - which you shouldn't since they have a good selection of very tasty food. Good service too. There is also a full service bar/lounge for the evenings. Quirk 1: Rooms have a cramped angled entryway which makes it a bit difficult to maneuver with luggage - especially if someone is standing by the sink/mirror when you open the door which brings me to Quirk 2: Tiny counter space with little room for spreading out cosmetics/accessories/etc. (see photo). Summary: Good inexpensive place, we've stayed there at least three times and will go back.
The location of the hotel was conveniently located to the area we needed to be. It is very basic, clean and the staff was friendly. And it was nice to wake up to a river view. I would recommend this property for anyone who doesn't mind a basic place for a couple nights.
My family booked a three-four day stay for the wedding party of our niece who got married in Oregon City recently. We had over 40 people from all over the country staying in the hotel from Wednesday through Sunday. Our rooms were clean, and pretty large for an older hotel; the staff was very courteous and helpful; the amenties were nice and the beds were comfortable. The in-house restaurant had good food but they were not prepared for our visit. Many of us ate breakfast each day and used the $7 off coupons. They were understaffed and that created long waits before, during and after eating. Knowing that the rooms were booked more than a month in advance, I would have thought that the hotel would have prepared with more staff. Many of the young people went to the bar area after spending the day sightseeing or at wedding events. They were complimentary of the bar staff and the trivia contest and karioki that took place. all in all, it was a pleasant experience and we would stay in this hotel again if we return.
Easy access on and off I 205. Beautiful setting overlooking the river. Park nearby. The restaurant breakfast had a great variety was very good. Did hear the people above me walking around at 5 AM. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Noisy. Noisy air conditioner. Noisy fan. Noisy frig. Traffic noise. Bathroom fan noise. Great little bar. Close to where I needed to be. Clean. Convenient parking. So much potential. But WAY too noisy.
I'm glad to see the hotel exterior being updated. The new stucco and color scheme is a definite improvement long overdue. The next door restaurant is a pleasant surprise and we preferred it to the across the street offerings.
I may have wanted a dog friendly room, but definitely didn't appreciate a room that smelled of tons of dogs staying in the room! They don't have a breakfast buffet, but give you a voucher at the restaurant on premises. Voucher barely pays for a cup of coffee. Homeless people are all around. Hotel staff calls them "River Rats". Do your self a favor and stay somewhere else!
I stayed at the Best Western Plus Rivershore Hotel in Oregon City for two nights. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and both times have been excellent experiences. The hotel is going under some construction right now but it was easy to move around the hotel/parking lot and they did not start any work until after 8:30 AM and stopped around 4:00 PM or so. Staff was excellent and gave a couple of recommendations for restaurants in the area. I will be staying at this hotel in the future.
Overall the trip was great. My two complaints were the lighting of the room. Dark... And the bouncy bed. It is hard on your back. Restaurant was good and the people were great....Pet areas are behind the hotel and a grassy knoll.
Comfortable, clean rooms over looking the Willamette River. Staff has always been most helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious, each with a deck on the river side. Rooms comfortable and beds a comfortable.
After working at a trade show for 8 hours, we really appreciated the kind, efficient staff. At every turn, the service was evident: ample close parking, easy check-in, ice machine near our room, and the best of all, an adjacent restaurant. Rooms are clean, efficiently arranged with ample space. As the name implies, the motel is on the River shore with a lovely walking path.
Noisy both inside and outside; does not include breakfast, just a discount at attached restaurant which is not enough to cover breakfast; poor parking situation; homeless people wandering around outside.
A good budget hotel. The front desk and shuttle service for weddings was great. Good location, lots of other services near by, room had slight musty smell, a little tired around the edges. Breakfast with $7 discount coupon over looking the river was great. One could tell that the staff tries hard to make up for some minor shortfalls.
Very nice hotel, we had a river view and it was very nice. Large room and all the amenities. Had breakfast at the hotel dining room and it was very good, with a view of the river. Convenient to the expressway system.
Even though there was construction during our stay, we did not hear it and our stay was not affected by it. Great view of the river and a nice park located nearby. The room was spacious and comfortable. There is a small pool and hot tub in the hotel.
In town for a family wedding. Location worked out well, hotel had a nice breakfast and the staff were very helpful. Some renovation is occurring but that did not cause any difficulty.Nice view of the river and good walking paths.
Please note that there is construction going on at this location (early September 2016). Construction started before 7am. You may wake to the rhythmic sounds of hammers hitting nails. I should have been tipped off by the earplugs in the drawer next to Gideons' Bible. Parking is limited, and spaces are smallish. Ice maker didn't work on the 4th floor.
Stayed here for a week to attend a local conference. The TV remote was DOA and later replaced by staff. Cheap plastic toilet seat was about to fall off. I tightened it by hand so I could use it. How could housekeeping not notice that when cleaning. As the afternoon sun moved to the sliding glass door leading to the small balcony I got a closer look at the entire room. There was dirty rain water on the screen and glass as well as the 2 chairs and table that overlooks a nice view of the river. We cleaned the deck furniture. It had not rained there in several weeks. Is there a cleaning schedule? Found that it was pet friendly as one couple on the floor had three dogs. I had no pets, but there were three large pet stains on the well worn carpet. There was enough dust on the chest of drawers/TV stand for me to write "dust me" with my finger. The recliner had deep dirt stains on the arms and headrest and showed excessive use. A large highway about 200 feet away provides 24/7 noise and jake brakes, and there was a very busy railroad track there that sounded horns almost with glee at all hours of the night. Parking lot was not big enough for the rooms available. They are apparently full always, so if you stay out past about 7:00 PM or so you get to park across the street. Several people in the conference had similar complaints about this Motel. It seemed to me that for $150. per day it could have been nicer. The sponsor of this event will take a closer look at available lodging in the future.
Very good with lovely view. Staff were professional and polite. Nice to have restaurant attached and voucher coupons for breakfast. Not enough parking in lot and very high car prowl area in alternate parking location across the street - a truck was broken into in front of my car overnight.
Beautiful river view. Excellent service from employees, going above and beyond. Would definitely recommend it for everybody. Oregon City is a very charming old town with lots of cute shops and neat places to eat.
I don't know what this is, seems like I have already answered all the questions, I am not sure what else I can put . The staff was very friendly, if there is anymore needed I will opt out of this survey.
We were here for our daughter's wedding at a nearby venue, Pros: Excellent hotel staff, We had a wedding cake that needed to be refrigerated for the night, they let us keep it in there cooler. views great, walking path right next to the river, shopping at strip mall was in walking distance. Cons: Parking not convenient, hallways not air conditioned, elevator very small.
The price was very reasonable for being this close to the VA hosp. All staff were friendly & the complex was very clean & well maintained. Everything was as advertised. The room was sparkling clean when we arrived & nicely decorated. We used the staircase for the exercise. It was spotless, very well lite, had double handrails and nice wide steps. Internet was a bit slow, but as we were not doing business it did not affect us. More channels on the tv would have been nice, including MSNBC and a commercial free movie channel.
Just outside of Portland OR, situated with views of the river just across the street. High end room accommodations that are quiet and well appointed. More like a Marriott. Restaurant was very good with a great menu choices.
This is our hotel of choice in the Portland area. We are never disappointed in the facilities and the staff. Each room has a river view with a balcony. Easy to get to and well worth the money. Upgrades to lobby and exterior are in progress, but did not disrupt our stay at all.
We were very pleased with our stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The view from our private balcony was gorgeous. If you travel with a dog, as do we, Rivershore has a lot to offer. Dog friendly with a potty area off the parking lot and a very nice river front walking trail just across the street. The restaurant is connected to the hotel. We enjoyed drinks and delicious items off the bar menu. There is some traffic noise from the bridge nearby but did not detier from our enjoyment. We look forward to a return stay.
This was our 2nd time staying at this BW property. Very satisfied with the experience and would definitely stay here again. Loved the view of the river! Very calming. Convenient to lots of shopping and restaurants. Great place for a "home base" as you explore surroundings. Clackamas Town Center mall is very close and awesome place for shopping.
We just needed a one night stay between visiting friends and family and Oregon City was perfectly in the middle. We called ahead for the reservation on our drive and checked in at around 11pm. We could see that there was construction going on and both quietly hoped that we wouldn't notice in the morning -- so so wrong. At 7:30am we woke with a start from a very loud knock on our door. They wanted to know our last name. Strange, but okay. After getting back in bed, I felt suspicious so I called the front desk. They indeed needed to confirm which room we were in - apparently whoever checked us in, didn't mark our room properly. Super unfortunate, but whatever. A half hour later, at 8am, very loud banging commenced down the hall - construction started. So much for sleeping until check out...
Hotel is in a great location with an attached restaurant with a view of the river and a shopping center right across the street. The hotel was clean and comfortable with comfortable bedding and pillows. It was also nice and quiet. Desk clerks were friendly.
Husband and I have been coming to this hotel once a year for the past four years. Always wonderful. Very well run. Great staff. Restaurant (independently owned) is also great. Nice location, patios, rooms overlook river.
The room was very comfortable and it was conveniently located not far from both freeways (5 and 205). I kept waiting and waiting for the hotel to ask for me to fill out the review on the internet for our BW membership. Nothing ever came. Maybe that is because there was a problem with checking in and also paying the bill. Upon check in, even though I am the one who is always making the reservations, they insisted upon having my husband get out of the car to tell them he was with me and I could check in. His name is on the BW card, but if she would have checked the computer, my name is also on the account. It was just a little inconvenience that I've never run into before at a Best Western hotel. The other thing was that the front desk clerk tried to charge me extra over the agreed-upon amount due. She said that the tax rate had changed since I had made my reservation only two weeks before, so she wanted me to okay the bill for $1.89 more than my contract said. Of course I refused to pay more than our contract said, and finally she agreed to what my paper work said. It was just a little inconvenience, but I had no way at that moment to check to see if the tax rate had changed since making my reservation. A contract is a contract. That is why I ALWAYS print out my contract and have it with me. Would I stay there again? Maybe yes, maybe no. I'd have to give it some thought.
I was in town for my son's wedding and had an amazing stay. The restaurant has very good food. Try there burgers they are amazing. Check out was a breeze and Eva and Jodi were very helpful and friendly. I was greeted every time I came in and out of the lobby with a welcoming smile and friendly Good Morning. If I'm in the area again I will stay here again!
we plan on studying there again soon. Great location loved the view from the room. Enjoyed looking out at the river. The staff was great and did everything they could to help us in anyway. I will be back and refer my friends.
This hotel is extremely overpriced! The room had a terrible smell, and the bathtub did not drain properly. I would stay at another location for sure. Way too expensive! The only good part of staying here was the view from the room overlooking the river.
great place. I would suggest for everyone to stay there. i wish i could move in. The view of the river is awesome. sometime i think about peeing in the water while i am in my room. I look at that water and think to myself how great it would be if i could just pee in that water right now.
Very nice hotel. Stayed on 4th floor with very good view of river. Very quiet. Restaurant very good. Pricey but very nice. Will stay there again. Close to I-205 so on and off easy. Starbucks across the street as well as Shari's. Nice walking path through adjacent park.
This hotel is extremely well maintained by an excellent, well trained, friendly, professional staff. We've stayed here many times and will continue to stay in the future. We would reccomend this hotel to anyone. We can't imagine anyone not being satisfied with their stay.
For $135 per night in July, we received a two queen bed room with a balcony and river view, firm mattresses, lots of fluffy pillows, in room fridge, microwave, iron, full size ironing board, blow drier, organic soap and $7 breakfast voucher for the restaurant attached to the hotel. The sounds of neighbours opening and closing doors was fairly loud inside our room. Something interesting was that whenever we entered our room, it smelled of cologne. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
This hotel runs very full in the peak summer vacation time period. It is a Best Western plus so the rates are much higher than expected and offers very few discounts during the summer season. The hotel itself is a gem and I always enjoy my stays. The manager is not very friendly or customer related and seems to care less if you are a returning customer and seems not to represent the Best Western brand very well.
Really enjoy coming to this hotel. Love the location and all the activity on the river. It's close to everything and the local scene is alright. Rooms are really nice and always enjoy my stay here. I'll be back
Stayed here in early June. Rooms all have view of Willamette River. Close to the 215, so you will hear the traffic. Close to downtown Portland. Good value for the price, although the rooms are a bit small. Will stay there again.
Hi. Had a lovely stay in June. Ask for the River view. Room as nice and clean and I thought a decent value. Staff was cheerful and super helpful. Very easy to get to this hotel from the interstate - always a plus for me...Thanks!!!
My Mom and I stayed for a couple nights while we were on the Portland area leg of our roadtrip. The rooms were nice and clean and we had a nice view of the river. The restaurant was very good, we had breakfast and dinner there during out stay. I would stay here again on our next trip to the area.
Wonderful hotel with caring, attentive staff. Very clean rooms, with super comfortable beds. Restaurant and bar attached to the hotel also provide great food and drink in very comfortable setting. The restaurant patio overlooks the Willamette River! The hotel is a short walk from downtown Oregon City, where there are many wonderful restaurants and shops. I originally meant to stay in downtown Portland, but chose this hotel for its proximity to a wedding venue. I'm very glad that I made that choice. This was a very relaxing, clean, efficient hotel!
Everything at this location was as advertised--nice. The view of the river, the room and the helpful and friendly staff. Location is right across the street from the river walk and close to freeway access. Even parking was more than adequate.
When we made the reservation on-line I booked a river view room but did not get it. Got discount breakfast coupons instead. Not too happy. Rooms are ok but nothing spectacular. Have a decent restaurant for breakfast but ate elsewhere for dinners.
This was an above average BW hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It's right off I--205. The rooms are pleasant and have a balcony. You get a good view of the river. Restaurant on site and you get a $7 voucher for breakfast, which by the way is good. The hotel is close to local attractions and we would stay there again. On the minus side our room wasn't ready at check in time.
Very nice hotel located on the river with a very nice view. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Room well appointed and clean. Restaurant attached to hotel made eating easier. Easy access to highway. Nice walking path along the river right outside your door.
Nice views and walkways along river. Good location. Room pretty much the same as most hotel rooms. Plenty of parking. I liked being able to walk along the river, right across the street, walking trails.
I would recommend staying at this hotel. It is located on the river so you can walk around. It is easy to access from the highway. The room was clean and comfortable. Discount coupon for breakfast at the restaurant.
We stayed here three nights on a road trip to Oregon. Rooms are pretty standard, but showing their age. Check-in was a little confusing (new staff person). We ended up paying more than our original reservation, but we had a pet with us. We did not try the adjacent restaurant. Pros: Nice location. All rooms have river view. Pet friendly. Cons: No rollaways! Lock on sliding door to balcony was difficult to use. Rooms are somewhat dated. They do not have a free breakfast, unlike most similar hotels.
Definitely ask for a balcony, and try the food from the lounge. Everyone is friendly and will give great suggestions. There is a kayak rental just up the street, so if it's not super windy, you should definitely give it a shot!
i found the room to be a good value. it was a nice room with a pleasant area surrounding. I wish I would have invited clients to dinner there instead of driving 20 minutes to meet them. if I return I will be staying here.
We really enjoyed this hotel. Our room over looked the river and had a nice balcony. The food in the restuarnt was very good and the service was great. The hotel staff was very nice and very accommodating.
The rooms are reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. Love sitting on the balcony looking at the activity on the river. Walking in the park along the river is fun too. The restaurant next door is good.
The evening was warm and it was nice to open up the slider on the balcony to let the river smell come in. The front desk was very friendly and the room clean. The hotel could use a little updating, but the proximity of the river and large park make up for it. I ate at the restaurant which is leased by a private party and had a nice dinner. The restaurant had a great view and seemed to be frequented by locals. I was on a business trip and thought it was set up well for that and the location is convenient to the 205.
VERY nice staff, but that's about all I can say positively about the place. One of the noisiest hotels I have ever stayed in -- it was almost comical that in the bedside drawer, right next to the Gideon Bible, there were two sealed packages of ear plugs. No clue whether they were supplied by the hotel or left by a previous guest. The place is in need of a MAJOR overhaul. Everything seems dated and old. My room was on the second floor at the end of one of the halls where the "wings" of the hotel separate. The door leading to the next wing over was unbelievably loud every time it was opened and closed. The people one floor above me (for two of my three nights) sounded like they were stomping around in clogs, and at all hours - early morning and late night. I was one floor above street level facing the river, and felt like I had much more of a street view than a river view - very deceptive in terms of the pictures, which make it appear that the hotel sits directly on the river - probably not so bad on the higher floors, but traffic noise was definitely an issue as the road was maybe eight feet from my room. The TV was nice, but there seemed to be few (if any!) HD channels. If someone like Hilton or Marriott comes into Oregon City and builds a new hotel, this place will be in big trouble. Again, super nice staff - but beyond that, a huge disappointment.
Great hotel. staff, service, and location. We have stayed three times and call it our home in Portland, Oregon. The spa, fitness centre and pool are terrific. The restaurant and lounge are comfortable and well-priced.
The family and I stayed here for a few days at the end of our vacation. A few points: -The location is perfect. It is located on the Willamette River and every room has a balcony with a great view. -The rooms are very nice, clean and tidy. Housekeeping is very good at their jobs. For example, we have three kids and one slept on a cot. While we were out, the housekeeper would come in and clean as normal, but she would also make up the cot! I think that shows exceptional dedication and care. -The prices are very good. Use your AAA card though. -The only gripe I have is that I wish they had a continental breakfast. They give out coupons for the attached restaurant, but that's not the same. Travelers tend to rely on the coffee and waffles and muffins and such, and not so much on overpriced omelets. Overall, we love this hotel. We have stayed here in the past and will again in the future.
First, there simply are not good hotel options in this area. The BW is conveniently located and on the river with great views. Second, our room had a Queen-size bed which came as a big surprise to me. It did not specify on our reservation nor did I have any knowledge of booking a Queen room. I called the front desk after arriving in our room and was told they no longer had available King rooms. Wish I had the option when I booked. The mattress needs to be replaced -- it was lumpy and sunken in the middle. The entire room was worn. I wouldn't call this BEST. It is BASIC. And there's not much option.
My advice is, if you are going to book several rooms, not only assign the rooms to the parties you booked, if it makes any difference, but if you do, make sure that you also tell the hotel which rooms you have assigned people to... It will save a lot time and bother of having to shuffle people around. I also advise you to book your room on the top (4th) floor in order to not be kept awake with your overhead neighbors who tromp around until the wee hours of the morning. It is an older hotel, built out of wood. The doors to the room let in the hall light and sounds of people who feel that it is not necessary to their voices in the middle of the night... The elevator is quite small. You need to use your card key to summon it. The king bed was comfortable for me, a bit firm for my husband. The bed had four, standard size pillows, and were rather firm. There is a refrigerator box in the window. The room comes with an iron, a coffee maker, a small refrigerator and microwave and a large table which could easily sit six. Other furniture includes an office chair, a comfortable high backed chair, a small square coffee table, a large bureau on which the television sits, and has three large, deep drawers. There are two bedside tables with drawers. The lanai has a 2 chairs and small round table as well. The room was very clean. The bathroom is big, with a very large metal tub. There is a $10.00 cleaning charge if you bring your dog. The view is of the Willamette River. You are just downstream from the falls. It is a popular fishing spot for salmon, and the river was filled with anchored fishing boats. From our window, we saw crows, bald eagles, and geese. The hotel is sandwiched between McLaughlin Blvd. to the east, the river to the west, and the noisy 205 overpass to the south. The park to the south is expansive, with a paved path along the river and around the park. In the park, we found a swing set near the covered picnic area, a horseshoe pitch, and a skate board park. If you book though the hotel itself, you will get a $7.00 coupon toward breakfast every day of your stay. The free coffee offered in the lobby was delicious I am told. I didn't not use the restaurant, but the fare seemed to offer the usual greasy potato, bacon, egg fare. Like the hotel, the bar and restaurant are old and in need of renovation. Parking spots were at a minimum, especially Friday night because of Karaoke night. Across McLaughlin Blvd. is a Rite Aide and other convince stores. In conclusion, the hotel worked for us as our venue was just .7 of a mile away. The senior AA rate was $135.00 per night.
This hotel has a beautiful location and a very convenient one! The beds are comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly. Those are the good things I can say. For the price we were paying, we expected a better accommodation; the hallways are ragged, tired, and unairconditioned, with a musty smell. ( The a/c is the room was fine!). The restaurant should offer better fare, especially since it overlooks a scenic river view. We ordered extra dry martini cocktails with a gin the server could not explain, just that it was local. It turned out to be flavored gin of some sort, which tasted terrible in a martini - - the bartender should have known not to make those ( since we did not know the gin was flavored!) . All around, it felt like a dated, ragged place which was trying to be a 3-star hotel and was not making it. But, as I said, the location and view are wonderful and convenient, and the beds were great.
We love this motel--location is perfect, restaurant is one of the best as is the bar atmosphere. Rooms are clean, bed is comfortable, Internet works fine, staff are accommodating. We enjoy watching boats on the Willamette--most fishing--some just recreating. There is much history surrounding Oregon City so if you are a tourist and enjoy learning about Oregon history, it is a good place to start as that is where many of the early pioneers visited first. It is our favorite Best Western thus far and we stay in Best Westerns frequently if they are available in our travels.
Wonderful place to dine and watch the activities on the Willamette River. Either inside, or on the outside patio, a lovely place to dine with friends. Great wine and cocktail selection, a large selection of seafood, steaks, and other from their good size menu, and the food is prepared by a local chief. Wonderful time was had by all!! Try it, you'll enjoy!!
Came down for a single night with my dogs to this BW. Rate was very reasonable for location (easy to get to) and I think each room offers a view and balcony. Came in late Saturday night and left Sunday, but they let us have an extra hour to enjoy the spa. Wife liked the spa and pool area. Room was of good size, bathroom as well. Note: Some of the best water pressure in a shower I've ever come across in a hotel. Bed was comfortable and my dogs enjoyed watching the world from the second floor balcony. If I come back to the area, I would definitely stay again. Service was good. They provide a breakfast voucher for the restaurant attached to the hotel. Nice breakfast. Cost a couple dollars more than the voucher, but worth it.
Friendly staff and clean room. A wonderful balconied room with view of the river below. Great restaurant discount for guests and the food was surprisingly wonderful. Would definitely recommend this moderately priced hotel for what it delivers.
We came back to the Portland area to visit friends. This hotel is across from the river, beautiful view. Watching the fishermen catch salmon. They gave us a $7 voucher for breakfast every morning. Food was great. Dinners were tasty. Bar was fun. Rooms very comfortable. There is no doubt that we would stay there again. If you're headed that way, I suggest this warm friendly hotel.
Our stay at this hotel was very good. Clean room with a small balcony overlooking the Willamette River. Very peaceful. The only downside of this hotel was that the restaurant in the hotel was independently operated. We were given $7 breakfast vouchers. The hotel policy was that each room was given a max of 2 vouchers/room no matter how many people were in the room. I think they should have a voucher for each guest.
Room is never a disappointment. Great river view from the terrace. Great comfy bed. Room is always clean and tidy. The breakfast coupon is a nice incentive for the morning. Check in and check out is always courteous and quick. Some of the employees really go out of their way to ensure a great stay. Highly recommend this hotel.
Stayed for 4 nights - perfect location, easy to get into city and outer tourist areas. Plenty of food choices and beautiful views of river. Great to come back after a full day and relax on balcony watching the fishermen or taking a walk on the trails. Great staff, from housekeeping to office. Close to shopping for any forgotten items. We were going to stay in Portland to be close to everything - my son told us about this hotel and we are very happy he did. When back in Portland we will most definitely stay here again.
After flying all day, we were very happy we had made a reservation for the night. Easy access off of I-205(exit 9) & views of the river. At first was worried when we pulled up, outside of motel could use a brighter color but front desk was very friendly & we were checked in quickly. It has the smallest elevator I have ever seen but got the cart in it with all our luggage. We had a king room with a view & it was very nicely decorated & clean. The bed & linens were very comfortable-we had a great night sleep. Since we arrived late, the restaurant was closed but we ate at the lounge & was very pleased with the bar food(halibut fish & chips) & the bartender was very nice esp when I was asking lots of questions about the area & Oregon. No breakfast buffet but they give you a coupon for $7.00 off(each) at the restaurant which we did not use because we wanted to get on the road. There is a McDonald's across the street if you do not want a sit down meal. I had checked out a lot of exits & motels coming from the airport & I'm glad I chose this one.
I stay here quite a lot. I enjoy the river view and room comfort. There is a good degree of covered parking. The staff is well trained and most recognize me soon after working there. It's convenient to have the restaurant/lounge connected
I stay at this Best Western on a regular basis for business purposes. I have an issue every time I stay here. No maid service, no wake up call, trying to move me to another room 30 minutes after I arrive, no fresh towels. I have contacted the front office after every issue. They are friendly and apologetic but the problems happen again on my next stay.
I have stayed at many hotels in my lifetime. This is my first hotel stay that I have no complaints. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Hotel and room was clean and tidy. Security was nice (you need your room key to enter the hotel, pool/hot tub, etc. Restaurant food appeared sub par to my family and I but we are not from Oregon so maybe its a cultural thing. This will be the only hotel I stay at in this area from now on.
Our room was on the 3rd floor looking over the river. We had a sliding glass door we could open to air the room out as it was stale. People were slamming doors as they were in and out to smoke I guess. The bed was a little softer than we like. The location was not to far from a large mall and was walking distance to drug store and fast food places
We reserved a river view room online. Upon checking in the clerk did not give us a river view. After informing them of ur reservation they then "upgraded" us to a river view. The heater and fridge were extremely noisy in the room.
Highly recommend - great relaxing view from the balcony and attached resaurant not only convenient but very good food. We would recommend staying an additional night if your schedule allows the time..
Clean rooms, grounds are well kept, great view of the river, friendly staff and the Rivershore restaurant serves fresh, homemade food with very reasonable prices! I highly recommend the humus plate and the crab cakes from the appetizer menu! With the breakfast coupons from the hotel, breakfast was only $3.50!! Can't beat that!!
Excellent hotel with very good restaurant on the river in Oregon City. Every aspect of customer service from front desk to housekeeping exceeded our expectations. Restaurant takes pride in their menu. our dinner and breakfast were both very good.
A very nice Motel as usual, sitting beside the Willamette River. All rooms face the river. An excellent restaurant is attached to the motel. There is an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness center within the motel. A very friendly and helpful staff. This motel is away from the rush of business and traffic and it is nice to be able to peacefully walk along a part of the river.
Nice river view, good restaurant and comfortable rooms with a deck the location is convenient and the area has plenty of food and shopping as well as scenery. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied.
A very comfortable and attractive hotel. I enjoyed the river view and the peace and quiet., even including the barking of the sea lions, who are very unpopular with local fishermen. Also the convenient location for freeway access. Restaurant on site although my schedule did not coincide with mealtimes. Convenient parking
From the moment I stepped into the Best Western Plus Rivershore Hotel Lobby until my departure, I was made to feel welcome and valued as a guest. Guest associates were accommodating and helpful. All hotel staff greeted me and seemed genuinely interested in my comfort.
I stay here alot. The main reason I stay here is the staff. They treat all of the guests like family. They will do anything they can to make your stay enjoyable, all you gotta do is ask. I recommend this hotel to my co-workers when they are in this area too.
we gather to celebrate the life of a family member. the hotel was central to a our location. The location on the river brought back fond memories for my husband of fish trips with his father. His parents did not live to far away from this hotel, so this was a trip down memory lane.
We used this hotel for out-of-town guests for our daughter's wedding. We received a group rate which made it very affordable for all of the guests. Our rooms were quiet and we all enjoyed a view, from our balconies, of the Willamette river . I did all of the pre-planning for our stay and found the hotel staff (especially Holly) extremely helpful and very accommodating. The hotel is conveniently located near the wedding venue, Clackamas Town Mall, grocery shopping and only about 25 minutes from the airport. The hotel offers a $7 breakfast voucher for the on-site restaurant where we enjoyed delicious meals each morning for a couple dollars after the voucher. The hotel offers free WiFi, a hot tub which was very clean, a pool and workout facility. I would highly recommend this hotel to Portland travelers.
Have requested handicap room and they never have one available. Also, sometimes you get a code for wifi and other times none. The checkin staff are like robots. Smile and make appropriate comment and say "Have a good stay!" After 3 years no more at this hotel,
The Best Western Oregon City is in a great location right on the Willamette River. All of the rooms have balconies with stunning views of the the beautiful river and surrounding forests. The hotel well maintained, with a very friendly staff. This Best Western features a decent restaurant and nice bar for some great after dinner fun. If you are headed to Oregon City for a fishing trip on the Willamette River, you can;t ask for a better location. The boat dock is right across the street.
This is the best place to stay in Portland. For us we need room service occasionally, a view, comfortable seating, good parking, helpful staff, and on-site restaurant. This even has a pool. With excellent prices.
Don't let the exterior appearance worry you. Although this is obviously an old style hotel, the decor, maintenance, and service were up to Best Western standards. The hotel is just off a major highway but we never heard the road noise. Most , if not all, of the rooms faced the river and provided a lovely view. Security is a high priority, your room key is required for access to all non-public parts of the hotel. We would stay there again.
I enjoyed my time staying at this beautiful location right on the river. The restaurant and lounge was also nice. Noemi went out of her way to make sure that I had a comfortable experience. I wish more hotels around the country took care of their clients like this, having a sincere interest in the clients needs.
Perfect for our fishing/business trip to Portland. View of the Willamette River and it's eagles, otters and boats is great. Restaurant is first rate, as is the bar. Comfortable, reasonably priced and no need to drive.
All the rooms face the river. Its's right off the freeway but not noisy. I've stayed there several times. If you want to do a little shopping there's a shopping center across the street. The staff is always nice. There is a park to walk in also. I 'm just not thrilled with their breakfast.
My second time to stay at the BW Rivershore in Oregon City. The first trip was 7 years ago and I enjoyed it then and I enjoyed it this trip. That says something for hotel when 7 years separated you see the facility kept in such Top Notch Condition that you can't tell the difference. Till the next trip to Portland area. Thanks Gary
We love staying at the Rivershore Hotel. It is relaxing as it is on the Willamette River where you can watch the river and the activities the river provides: birds, boating & fishing. There are verandas to enhance this experience. The restaurant is excellent. As we normally visit family in the area, we didn't take time to check out pool or fitness. The beds are very comfortable and it is a quiet location. Probably the only complaint would be that when the motel is full, the elevator seems very slow.
The office staff sent me a Christmas card and said they hoped I came back so I did, and they were very nice to me. I got my old room for close to my old price, and noticed they had made some good changes in the property, finally finishing the eternal lobby remodel being the most notable. The room was very clean, the bed was great, and the view of the river was as great as always. I did miss the complementary ear plugs that used to always be by the bedside, because it still is a bit loud from the freeway bridge nearby, as well as the heater/air conditioner, but I still slept well enough. The "free" breakfast doesn't include coffee and is pretty minimal as well as hit or miss on quality, but they can't help that because I think it's a separately owned concession. I will go back again.
Excellent when traveling for business. With a restaurant and lounge you don't have to go out after a long day. Conveniently located by the freeway makes it easy to get where you are going in either direction. The staff at both the hotel and the restaurant are fantastic and make you feel right at home. they always go out of their way to accommodate and requests and needs you may have.
For folks traveling on business to the greater Portland area this hotel offers reasonably priced rooms w/ good accommodations in close proximity to PDX and the city of Portland, OR. Rooms are standard hotel faire, and hotel has an attached restaurant for quality meal options. Internet comes standard w/ room, no additional charges.
Nice hotel, on the river, typical Best Western quality. Good restaurant, friendly staff, helpful and considerate. Visiting family in Oregon City. Right next to downtown with a nice park on the river. Next time we'll bring our pooch.
Used Expedia to reserve our $100 room and were advised on arrival (we were Platinum members of the Best Western Reward Program), ONLY guests who reserve through the BW online website receive BW Rewards credit for the stay and reserve a room greater than $80 receive breakfast privileges, which violates our sense of fair marketing. My later complaints to Franchise HQ confirmed this INTERNAL policy, so ANY online marketing firm you use may result in your being denied common privileges found within the majority of America's modern motel/hotels. In the future MANY Best Western competitors will welcome us and appreciate our business. We thought other travelers should be made aware of this internal policy and not go away the next morning (after discussing the situation with the onsite manager), as mad and hungry as we were. .
This hotel has a great location overlooking the river with nice views and decks off the rooms and restaurants. The rooms are just average however, and very much in need of a makeover. The bath fan was extremely noisy but necessary. The food was fine in the restaurant, but again in need of remodeling. It's very close to the Abernathy Center (walking distance) where we were attending a wedding.
Downstairs restaurant has great food... felt back at home. Staff was very helpful ,polite and actually had some humor..!!! Clean and updated rooms. View of Willamette River off private balcony including nice wicker chairs !
Enjoyed our stay. The only problem is when I was settled in I went to the vending machine for a diet soda and none were offered. Not that they were out..they were not offered in none of the vending machines. Staff seemed not to care.
Rooms were clean and comfortable, view of river was really nice. Definitely an older hotel with one elevator that rattles all the way up and front desk staff was not the friendliest ever. Good place to stay if in the area, nothing to go out of your way for though.
Clean, nice and updated rooms. Priced well and a decent amount of parking. Good bar for a hotel and restaurant is better than average. Right on the river and close to shopping and other restaurants.Have had family stay there as well.
We've stayed here a number of times and have always been pleased with the accommodations and courteous staff. While not particularly fancy, it's clean, dog-friendly, and every room has a balcony with chairs and a view of the Willamette. Love watching the boats, and the waterfront park is terrific for walking with the pooch. The restaurant has typical American fare, friendly staff, a decent bar and a great patio. Minutes from shopping and fun things to do, Lake Oswego, Clackamas Towne Center, Bob's Red Mill and Dave's Killer Bread. Low key, affordable place to get away for a couple of days.
I have stayed here multiple times and have always had a personal professional friendly welcome! The staff has gone out of their way to make my stay always worth coming back for! If available they have upgraded my room and provided info on local activities that may have been of interest to me.
Close enough to Portland to be convenient, far enough to miss most of the traffic and to cost less than downtown. Room seemed recently remodeled, everything was clean and nice. Very convenient to Lewis and Clark College. Breakfast restaurant was good.
Just an overnight stay coming back to L.A. from a lengthy driving vacation, we wanted an easy on/off from the Portland outerbelt (that took pets) and found this hotel. The entrance was under construction which made it a little difficult to check in but we managed. The hotel is divided into two buildings, and raised off the ground, with rooms starting on the second floor with parking underneath. A major drawback is the only way to access the rooms (three floors worth) is by one small elevator that barely holds a tiny luggage cart and required your room key to access. LONG waits for the elevator to show up and it was always full. The best part was the location, right by a beautiful river with parks and walking paths for at least a mile, which made it great for anyone traveling with a pet. Our room overlooked the river, had a nice view and a small balcony with chairs to enjoy the sunset. A coupon for the attached restaurant was included with enough value for a standard breakfast, but if you wanted to go for the eggs benedict you could for a little extra. The difficult and slow access to the room is why I downgraded to a 3. Otherwise, the room was large and clean.
Even with the lack of premium channels the stay was great! Bar and restaurant staff went out of their way to be pleasant and friendly. The view from the restaurant and my room was of the river facing west for the sunset and was very relaxing. The location was great for access to down town Oregon City and I-205. There were other amenities close by.
Nice hotel in a great location. Reasonably close to restaurants, city centre and attractions. The staff are professional and helpful and, although the decor is a bit dated, the rooms are comfortable and adequate for most travellers needs. The onsite restaurant is an added bonus and the hotel offers a $ 7.00 voucher per person toward breakfast. Overall, good value for your travelling dollar.
We visited family..familiar with the area, chose this hotel over the box brands because of the attached restaurant and bar (NFL Sunday..Go Hawks). Hotel is old school, but has been remodeled. We really could find nothing wrong with the rooms except a small regular sized bowl toilet.....Tile and granite in shower room, California vanity, easy chair, desk, nice bed. Riverside rooms are nice, small balcony with chairs. At check in was quoted a price, showed the front desk staff an online rate $40 less on my phone, they honored the rate. Got the room for a great price, but got home and had been charged for 3 nights instead of two. After a series of phone calls, we were refunded one night plus tax. We recommended this to family for their out of town business clients, they live in Oregon City.
Overall it was a nice stay, great view of the river, but not worth the hefty price in my opinion. No binder left in my room which apparently had the restaurant menu which would have come in handy! Also the place has all these hallways that meet with these heavy doors that slam pretty loudly and pretty constantly. Could hear the upstairs people walk around too. Noisy place...
took 40 minutes check in, while the clerk was on the phone with another person who was "shopping" for rooms, for future dates. The person before me also had problems getting checked in and took about 15 minutes. Also the walls are paper thin.
Would stay here again that says it all. Staff was awesome. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Dinning room and lounge had very friendly service and were well priced. Thanks for the great service.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bedding was soft and the pillows were fluffy. The closet had extra bedding which was nice. The parking was limited and tight for our truck. But for thanksgivings night we found a convenient spot. The restaurant breakfast was very good. The wait staff was nice and friendly. The only thing that was inconvenient was the elevator was not working from the ground floor. So for three flights, we had to drag our bags up and down the stairs. This hotel was very easy to get to. It's right off the freeway. And they have a drive thru Starbucks across the street.
Originally planned on staying at a Hampton Inn, but it was booked. No issues getting a room at the Best Western, and amenities were comparable. Was only there for a short stay, but friendly staff and clean room awaited me. I would definitely stay there again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. The staff were outstanding. We particularly appreciated the "pet friendly" environment. We would definitely stay again.
Not a bad hotel,, but the room was very small for two people. Barely had room for bags. Price vs value is poor. Location was nice with beautiful view. Upon arrival I was made aware that my points would not apply for room... very disappointed. Nice restaurant with good food.
View is magnificent in any season. Service is cordial. Near some shopping and other restaurants including fast food. Close entrance to the expressway as well. You can choose to walk along the Williamette or take a tour/walk of historic Oregon City to learn about the Oregon Trail.
Just a short stop over in Oregon city before we hooked up with family in Portland. Room is clean and acceptable. The river was flowing beautifully; so nice to see. Heads up, if you want the breakfast coupon book through the hotel directly. We went to trip in visor and they were totally inflexible. Supposedly the restaurant servers good breakfast and good dining. We did not check it out. Probably would stay here again.
This is my families 5th stay at the Best Western Rivershore Hotel in Oregon City in the last 3 years and is definitely my favorite and preferred hotel when staying in Oregon City, Or. when visiting my son and wife who live in the area. The hotel is located along the river and the view from the room is great. The beds are very comfortable Sealy Posturepedics. The area has lots of hiking/running trails along the rivers.. The hotel staff is always friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. Room internet access is great and for boarding passes the lobby has 3 desk top computers with a printer that works. Coffee and tea are served in the lobby 24/7. The hotel has an indoor spa, outdoor swimming pool, and exercise room equipped with water and TV. The Rivershore Bar and Grill restaurant has great food and drinks. When staying at the hotel you are provided discount tickets which really help with the family food bill. 205 Freeway access is a block away if sight seeing. All-in-all, a great place to stay and highly recommended.
Room was sparsely furnished. Be looked suspiciously slept in. Comfortable bed though. Restaurant has a very good breakfast. floors seem a little thin. Either that or a Sumo wrestler was staying in the room upstairs.
Very nice hotel/motel. Overlooking Willamette River. Bike/walking path near. Pet friendly. If needed in area, we will be back. Nice restaurant on site. Shopping center across the street. They should charge for children and not for pets, as my pet does less damage/wear than children!
Very nice hotel with a terrific view - and a balcony on which to watch it! Convenient to highways. This hotel was recommended by my son, who travels extensively for his work. Other family members have stayed there on their visits and were equally pleased. I would be pleased to recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Room was clean, carpet had odor (believe it was because I have a dog and was in a designated pet room). Staff is courteous. Breakfast at the restaurant was ok (not part of the hotel) and it was different to have breakfast there instead of the hotel lobby (nice to sit down and be served).
The room was clean and looked very inviting and cozy when we first arrived. The shower was amazing! But it was so powerful that the shower curtain would blow open and water would get on the floor no matter how often we tried to close it. Had a terrible time with the thermostat. It was either too cold or too hot all night. They don't have a breakfast buffet, but give a $7 coupon per person for the onsite restaurant. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again, but if I need a place to stay with my dog in that location, I would go back. They say they offer "River View" rooms. Our room was on the river side of the hotel, but it was not impressive. We just left the curtains closed.
Great service and a great location with a river view. great service and food at the restaurant. We were in the area looking for a place to live and this hotel fit the bill perfect. The staff was so very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again and recommend to my family and friends as well. Joe
This is a beautiful Best Western hotel. Every room has a view of the river, the rooms have a better than usual decor, the staff was very nice and friendly. The pool is outside and was closed for the winter, but the hot tub is indoors and open year round, the fitness center was average. The river has a nice walking/jogging trail. This is also a pet-friendly hotel and lots of people were walking their dogs along the river. The big difference with other Best Westerns is this one has a restaurant attached so instead of the usual breakfast buffet they give you a $7 voucher to use at the restaurant for breakfast. We found this a very enjoyable change of pace from the regular Best Western breakfasts. We also ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was great and every seat also has a view of the river. The hotel is right off the freeway, I highly recommend it any time you are driving by Portland.
You cant beat this hotel for the price. Friendly staff, good beds and clean rooms. Great Bar/lounge area. Had a great view of the river. Had a noisy toilet but that's all I can say was bad. I will be returning for business and will stay again.
It's a sprawling property but parking was easy. I prefer climbing stairs but the elevators are far more convenient at this property. The sound insulation could have been better. The location has no outside noise problems but I could hear my neighbors more than I liked. They have a very good restaurant next door. There is no onsite free breakfast but they gve you a $7 coupon for the restaurant. I ended up paying a few extra bucks for breakfast but I liked this arrangement much better than the typical free onsite breakfast.
I use to stay here quite often. NO MORE! Billed for a week stay when we only stayed one night. On the third day right now trying to get charges reversed. Everyone seems to pass the buck and I am coming up on bank fees. Customer service is a zero. Food is a zero compared to all the other best westerns we stay at. Beds hard as rocks and squeak, doors squeak, elevator is small, parking is hit or miss. Most BW'S have great breakfast and evening treats Not this one. Be prepared for poor service as they smile at you.
Not sure why this is a BW Plus. It was just okay. Pricey for what you get. Yes, there is a river view, but it's not exactly a beautiful view. No extras like cookies or popcorn. Breakfast was the shocker. We got a coupon for a choice of a few breakfast items or $4 off the breakfast menu. For $4 your couldn't even get coffee and toast. The coupon did not include a beverage and the eggs did not include toast. Our bill was $8 for 2 coffees and toast. They did take the toast off when we complained. BW should just forget the breakfast and not offer anything.
Not certain how Best Western get to charge so much for this hotel. The labyrinthine design does not lend itself to being customer friendly. The rooms are OK ... the staff are OK ... but having stayed in 10 hotels in the 10 previous nights - this was just OK BUT only just!! OK it's by the river but the view is nothing special. The hotel is connected to a restaurant. I believe that it is a separate enterprise but nontheless it is where customers will go. Our evening meal was just about passable - we returned in the morning with breakfast vouchers we had been issued with. Big mistake! The breakfast was without doubt one of the worst meals I have eaten in the 15 years I have visited the US. It was inedible! would I stay again? No way!!
OK, I will start with a quick check in/check out which friendly enough staff and was happy to get a room on the 4th floor with a great view, but the good stops there. When I arrived in my room no crib was there, which was requested. Crib was then sent up but not put up. We struggled with it, but it looks in bad shape. Two people came and we were told we got the "broken" crib. Great! Maybe throw it away. A newer crib was delivered and set up with a sheet and a somewhat stained blanket we chose not to use. Then my husband pulled out the chair near the desk and sat down. When he got up his pants were wet. The chair had a big wet spot on it. Then when I got down on the floor to play with my daughter my pants got wet. We asked and were told that the housekeeping staff probably sprayed "something" on some stains. Great, my kid had been crawling around on who knows what chemicals without me knowing. When we got up the next morning the floor was still wet in places. The towels in the bathroom were pretty warn out. Probably need to be replaced. The bathroom just didn't appear completely clean. The door to the bathroom needed W-D 40 because it squeaked every time you touched the door, which was annoying. The shower was difficult to adjust. The hot water knob seemed like it was barely hanging on and it took awhile for me to get the temperature warm enough. The beds were also quite noisy. Every time you moved, the bed squeaked which was awful when you have a baby you are trying to get to sleep or stay asleep. They also were uncomfortable. My husband and I both had sore backs in the morning. When we were finally ready to go to bed our neighbors arrived home and turned on their TV which was loud in our room. The elevators are slow and tiny. Basically 1 family at a time with their luggage, but then housekeeping needs the same elevators and they fill it up with their carts. We arrived early enough to get parking but every time we went out to our car to get something someone was waiting for parking spot but we weren't leaving. It seemed like there weren't enough spots. As wonderful as our view was, I probably wouldn't stay here again even though it was pretty affordable.
Hotel was right on the river and close to shopping and freeways. Hotel is being upgraded and construction noise was a little loud but not a lot they could do about it. Has nice bar and restaurant on site. Beds were very comfortable.
