Auckland is the most populous city in New Zealand. Its seaside location makes it an ideal holiday destination, and you will find plenty of activities there.

In the heart of the city, admire the iconic Sky Tower, which rises to 328 metres and is the tallest building in Auckland. From this architectural masterpiece, you will enjoy a breathtaking view over the Viaduct Harbour and can savour a good meal in its restaurant on the 53rd floor. At the foot of the tower, discover the Sky City area with its casino, shops, restaurants and cinemas.

Near the city centre, head to Mission Bay to stroll along the seafront. You can also take a walk in the Auckland Domain, the city's oldest park, which is home to the Wintergardens.

For a holiday in Auckland, be sure to plan a cruise in the Hauraki Gulf north of the city to admire the dolphins and the vast wild landscapes. Another outing, to Waiheke Island just 30 minutes away by ferry, offers a real change of scenery far from the bustle of the city, where you can discover numerous vineyards and fabulous beaches.

In the same spirit, an excursion to Devonport on the peninsula opposite Auckland will give you a relaxing afternoon in this quiet district, where you will find many art galleries and cafés.

If you opt for a museum visit, we recommend the Auckland War Memorial Museum as well as the Auckland Museum to discover the Maori and Polynesian history of the island.

Finally, wander through the city's many markets to taste excellent food and dishes with diverse influences.
