Our stay at the hotel was comfortable in a reasonably spacious room and excellent bathroom. We appreciated the rain shower especially after warm days exploring the city. The hotel is outside the city wall but in close walking distance to the old centre . Enjoyable stay!
What a great hotel. My family and I were travelling Europe in late May. My wife and two kids (12 and 10) we took two rooms to make it easier on us. Our one room was facing the front road and had a balcony that you could see the old walls of the city of Verona. It was awesome. The other room didn't have the same view but had a great patio. We received excellent service from the front desk staff including a restaurant recommendation to La Vecia Mescola. I could be convinced to go back to Verona for no other reasons than to stay at the Hotel De Capuleti and eat at La Vecia Mescola. Having Alexa in the room helped my kids have an extra good time. "Tell me a funny joke Alexa" somehow in Verona that didn't get as old as it does at home.
Great hotel. Rooms modern but with rustic touches. Staff v friendly and helpful. Verona is a beautiful city.
Surprising well appointed and clean, with two outdoor private patios on floor 1 ( 2nd floor). Bathroom european standard with bidet and both rainhead and hand showers. Hot water arrived quickly. Receptionist Felice was super helpful, and suggested we add on the 8 euros breakfast buffet which was a great spread and super value. Parking is a bit of effort, but stop in reception to deposit 50 euros for a parking pass on streets and parking lot within hotel vicinity. Money is refunded when you return the pass. Gelateria Mendociotto across the street is also very good.
I always enjoy staying at BW de Capuleti because of the downtown location as well as how clean, comfy and receive helpful care from all of the staff. Breakfasts are enjoyable. This location allows for us to easily run downtown in the morning for some early exercise.
We had a very pleasant stay at this lotel. 5 minutes walk from the the arena, restaurants and shopping. Good breakfast and above all, friendly and helpful staff. The best: a good gelateria across the road and a small store next to it which offers delicious panini, cheeses, pasta, olive oil.
Hotel in an excellent location. Very nice room and very helpful hotel staff. Unfortunately, due to family problems, we couldn't stay longer. They were understandable and only charged us for the days we stayed. Will definitely be back.
This was a great hotel for a 1-Night stay in Verona! Centrally located and a 5-Minute walk from the Arena and Central Square. Large comfortable rooms - great for families. A small balcony with street views. A fantastic Gelato place across the street (highly recommended)
Excellently located. Staff fluent in English and appreciative of our attempts at Italian. Very helpful in terms of keeping our luggage after checkout, suggesting walking routes and ordering a taxi. Hotel was very clean and of the expected standard.
The friendly staff, cleanliness of the hotel and my room was excellent, breakfast was delicious including coffee options, fresh towels, nice balcony to open the door to fresh air, and the location was perfect for a quick jog in the morning before work. Also, my water was refilled daily in my refrigerator. My coworkers and I enjoyed the overall service.
We wanted a clean, comfortable hotel convenient for the centre of town and this was it. It was wet and cold and dark in Verona when we arrived, but we had taken a last minute decision to ask the hotel to arrange for a car to meet us and we were very glad we had done so. On arrival we asked the woman in reception for a restaurant recommendation (the hotel does not have its own restaurant) and she suggested La Griglia about 10 minutes walk away. She then called them and booked a table for us and we enjoyed a very good meal. We did the same thing the next night and she found us an equally good meal at the Osteria da Hugo. The hotel does offer breakfast, including a good selection of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts, cheese, sliced meats and cake. Our room was clean and modern, the bed was comfortable and, although the room was quite small, there was a reasonable amount of storage space; very welcome as this was a stopover in a longer trip and we had a lot of luggage. We thought the hotel was good value: €215 for two nights accommodation for two people, breakfast for both of us one morning, and local taxes.
I stayed here for one night in January 2023 - essentially a bed for just over 12 hours. I took a taxi from the train station - took about five minutes. The hotel is located in a mixed, relatively quiet neighbourhood with residential and office buildings. The city centre is a short walk away and there are various restaurants in neighbouring streets. I walked back to the railway station the next day - took about 20 minutes. If travelling by bus (eg Flixbus), the stop is about a block from the train station. When you get off the bus you just have to look around, but you should be able to see the train station building pretty easily, although at first it was a bit confusing in the dark. The room was comfortable with a TV, wifi, safe, tea and coffee facilities. I didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. Service was good. The hotel overall was clean. The room was big enough for one person for one night, but it would probably be a bit uncomfortable for more than one person for a long stay. If returning to Verona I will consider this hotel as a possibility.
The hotel is half way between the railway station (20 min) and the historical downtown (10 min). The room was large enough, clean, with nice furniture. Thea and soluble coffee as well as some water are complimentary. Personnel was young, smiling and professional. My reservation didn't have the breakfast, I added and it was adequate to the price. I didn't have time to try the SPA.
In walking distance to all the sites I wanted to see in Verona. Just a few minutes walk from the Arena. Approx 23 min walk from the train station. Easy to find. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room and bathroom.
Stayed for two nights. All worked well. Happy with the room. Minor problem with aircon immediately resolved with no fuss by staff who were consistently helpful and friendly. They sorted me parking for free no problem although that cannot be guaranteed. The hotel is really close to pretty much everything you might wish to see in Verona. We walked everywhere through this beautiful city. I would recommend and return
Pros: + Spacious triple room with a small balcony + Excellent air conditioning + Helpful staff + Clean, modern room and nice toiletries + Great location (2 min walk to the Old Town) Cons: - We didn't bother with breakfast as it was a bit confusing. At check-in they said it was a buffet but that we had to pre-order what we want the night before and pay extra for some items. But not all of the items available were on the form. Just seemed easier to go out for breakfast... - Despite being a triple room, only two cups and a small number of tea bags were provided. Reception kindly gave us another cup, so it wasn't a big deal but I'm trying to be constructive!
Plus: - Just 10 minutes walk to the Arena and old town - Very friendly personell - Whirlpool and Sauna (I did not use these) - Good breakfast - perfectly clean Minus: - Extremely small room - for slightly more you find hotels with nicer rooms - Pictures on the webpage a bit misleading - We know already that a BW status is so useless (well, it saved 2 EUR)
Staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and stress free - including booking a wheelchair on our behalf and helping with all logistics. Rooms are modern, clean, spacious, and the hotel is ideally situated for exploring Verona on foot. Everyone spoke perfect English and were on hand to help at any time of day or night. Highly recommend.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. A ten minutes walk to the arena. The bathroom is very small, but clean and the bed is comfortabel. It is possible to park for free near the hotel. We will defenitely book this hotel again if we revisit Verona. We can highly recommend it.
Small, clean, and nice hotel. It is a very quite area, but in the center. It is next door to Juliet's tomb. We had a room with a balcony. Next time, I will stay at the same hotel again. Highly recommend,
The BW PLUS De Capuleti is on a quiet street within a 15 min walk to the Verona Arena, Casa di Giulietta, Piazza Erne and shopping. The hotel staff at check-in, check-out and breakfast were helpful and provided great customer service. Our room was spotless room and the bed was soooo comfortable- we both had a great sleep after an international flight. And the breakfast for 5 euro is the best deal you'll find! Excellent coffee and a selection of meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt and more! I would highly recommend this hotel!
We are usually quite satisfied with Best Western Hotels. This particular hotel certainly has a good location if you want to enjoy the historic center of Verona. A public parking lot is a short 8-10 minute walk from the hotel. The room was adequate. I have to say; however, we didn't get a welcoming feeling from the staff both at check out and departure. Please note that breakfast is not included in the price of your room. After actually staying at this hotel, we think this is a bit stingy. This same week, we were in Venice, paid less for our room and breakfast was included. Of course, there are plenty of cafes closebye where you can enjoy breakfast but.....
I have stayed here twice and it was a great experience both times. The place is modern clean and super civilized. Fantastic breakfast is a great value. It is far enough out of the old town to miss the tourist mob but still walkable from the center.
Stayed for two nights in room 603, perfect room with plenty of space for 2 adults and a teenager. Modern and clean. Complimentary drink each night in the bar area. Breakfast only 5 euros each and great selection, toast, cereal, yogurts, cakes, and the usual cooked options too. The staff were very welcome and excellent service from all of them. Location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the arena. Would definitely stay here again if we were ever heading back to Verona.
Stayed 4 nights. Told that we were upgraded to a superior room but it wasn't obvious what the upgrade meant. Room fairly comfortable but not that large. Rather too hot at night. Couldn't control temperature without opening windows but then too much traffic noise. Excellent breakfast. Happy hour meant a free drink (perhaps that was the upgrade?). Friendly staff. Would consider using the same hotel again if we were to return to Verona. Good location for the Arena and old town.
This is a fantastic hotel for a short break or business trip. It is clean and comfortable with a great value breakfast. The welcome drink every evening was a nice touch too. The staff were helpful and gave us some good restaurant recommendations. The spa was relaxing after a long journey. Great location for walking everywhere.
The Hotel De Capuleti was a late replacement when we realised that our first choice was a little too far out from the city, and although I'm sure the first was a fine hotel, what a great decision. Ideally placed for all the sites and a short walk to a host of great restaurants and bars, this place was ideal. The staff were welcoming, warm and efficient, the breakfast excellent (and cheap at €5), bar prices fair and the room was both comfortable and spotlessly clean. Special mention to Sara on reception and the charming and helpful night porter (whose name escapes me).
The hotel is located within an easy 10 minute walk of Piazza Bra and the Arena. The rooms were nicely finished, service was excellent from everyone we spoke to and the breakfast was superb for only 5 euros. The only slight drawback was the aircon being turned off at this time of year, despite the unseasonably warm weather on the weekend we were there. At least the door could be hinged and tipped so we got ventilation at night. They offer a free drink every evening, which is a nice touch in this day and age. We would definitely book again, well impressed with everything.
The room was pleasant, clean, comfortable. The staff at the front desk was very helpful. The best part was breakfast for 5 euros. It was a great spread--hot food, coffee, juices, cereals, pastries, fruit, etc.
We came to see Juliet's balcony and ended up really enjoying the town, but especially the opera. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk from Arena di Verona. Very close and we felt very safe walking back to the hotel after watching "Turandot", which was around midnight. It seemed like places were still open to feed the opera-goers. We were also hungry, but decided to hoof it back to the hotel. The rooms are clean and breakfast is basic. The restaurant just up the hill through the gates is fantastic. Between my niece and I, we ordered enough food for 6 people. Of course we didn't eat everything, but we tried. Everything was fantastic, even when we had it he leftovers later in the day. Wish I had the name of the restaurant, but I don't. You just have to walk up the street, cross it, turn right and you'll see it. Find it and you won't regret it. And Juliet's balcony was packed, not like in the movie "Letters to Juliet", but worth finding. You'll also see Juliet's statue and you may or may not decide to do the breast thing. I had my niece do it, but I definitely did not.
Room functional, quite an odd shape, but clean, comfortable and with everything you would expect from this type of hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast, I thought was exceptionally good and the dining area was immaculately clean. Location wise, if you want city centre, could not be better. I was worried about parking but in actual fact it was easy. The hotel gave me a pass and directed me to a nearby street where I parked for free.
The room and bathroom were new, modern, and clean. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was an excellent deal. The downside was that I could hear the person in the room next to mine snoring loudly on my second night. Also, it was warm in the room but because we were visiting in late April, the A/C was not on. When I tried to sleep with the window open, I could hear cars and people all night. So I had little sleep the second night. Another peculiar thing was that we were told that drinks would be served in the hotel that evening around 6:30pm and to bring our family. We went to the bar area for drinks but the hotel employee at the bar never acknowledged our presence and did not greet us, even though we were the only ones there! That made us feel uncomfortable. However, the rest of the hotel staff was welcoming.
By far the best hotel we've ever stayed in. 20 mins from the train station and about 5/10 mins from the main shopping/ restaurant area. The room was a decent size, the bathroom is a good size and the shower is amazing. The staff upon check in were friendly and polite. On the second night the kettle in the room tripped the electrics which was fixed and the kettle was replaced within 10 minutes. We were given a voucher for a free drink each night of stay upon check in (although we didn't use it) and the option for breakfast was there (€5). Would definitely stay here again. Loved our little balcony.
Excellent location, very quiet and comfortable room, helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast -5€. Very fresh and really delicious fruit salad. 15-20 walk from the railway station, very close to the main tourist attractions. Would be great to be back one day.
Terrific choice for Verona - super comfortable spacious and quiet rooms, easy street parking nearby (with a free parking pass from the always helpful front desk), delicious and abundant breakfast, and a lovely complimentary cocktail hour each evening. Walking distance to all we wanted to see in Verona. Highly recommended!
We use this clean, modern, excellently located hotel as our base in Verona. It is excellent, but beware it is not an old fashioned, "lounge around the hotel relaxing" but is more a good, clean, modern base for a city visit (we use it for when at the opera).
Stayed here for 3 nights from 23rd Feb and were checked in by two kind ladies! There was a free drink for me but I hadn't had the time to have it but I thought that was a nice gesture from the hotel. As a first timer in Best Western, I am so surprised about the Woman Pack / Business Pack they offer - I ordered a woman pack and I absolutely loved it!! Free use of minibar for all 3 nights for 5 euros. Breakfast was also 5 euros per morning which was lovely! I also thought the staff from reception , room service, breakfast and housekeeping were very polite, friendly and professional. The lady that handled my invoice was very kind too and efficient. The only negative was the room service dinner menu because it's not so yummy but its clearly explained that it is packaged and heated up/ pre-cooked. Thank you for looking after me and I will be back xxx
What a great little hotel! * Really well located to explore the main sights of verona * Large, modern, clean rooms * Comfortable beds * Friendly, helpful staff * Great value breakfast with decent selection - eggs, cereal, fruit, pastries, bread, cheese, ham etc * Only small drawback was soundproofing - not the worst, but not the best either
We really enjoyed this hotel. The room was modern and comfortable with a touch of Italian tradition. (My partner thought the psychedelic rain shower was next level). The hotel is located immediately outside the city centre walls so it is definitely within walking distance of all attractions. There is no parking garage but the hotel has parking permits to display on your vehicle if parked in a parking spot immediately outside (which we were lucky enough to find) so we didn't need to pay for parking. All round recommended.
The hotel is but a few minutes walk into the epicentre of Verona. Based on the central hotel prices, the Best Western was an absolute steal! The front of house staff were really friendly and spoke perfect English which was really helpful. The breakfast at the hotel is 5 euros which is remarkably cheap for Verona and you get a wide selection of items. The room was clean and tidy. The only slight issue we had was the air-conditioning unit which wasn't working when he returned home one night, however this was quickly addressed by the hotel staff.
This small hotel is a little Gem. It is very near Verona centre and also beautifully decorated. The staff are always friendly and happy to help. Would always recommend this hotel to anyone - families, single or business travellers. I have stayed here three times for my business trips and look forward to the next time.
Central location but not noisy. We had a room at the back as per requested in advance. Small balcony with views over the rooftops. The room was clean and adequate in space for a short stay. Although small, not unusually so for a city hotel. Breakfast was hot and cold buffet at a very good value 5€ each. For us, plenty of choice and good quality. Staff friendly and helpful. An Early evening free drink is offered each night. We would describe the hotel as a boutique city one . Similar to say Roommates in Spain Value was ok given high room rates in Verona in Opera season We would stay again if visiting Verona
Ideal for attending the opera as it's about 15 minutes away, yet surprisingly in a quiet area of Verona. We had two rooms and both had a balcony, and we're very clean and comfortable. Was really impressed by a the welcome. Breakfast choice very good. WiFi seemed to work very well too. Will use again on my next visit.
Stayed for 3 nights - to see the city and go to the opera. Reception team were excellent and the breakfast was very good - no need to use the local cafes. Our room was good - king size bed but compact. If you are looking for a base for a few days then it's a great location. The temperatures were in the 30's and the air conditioning worked well. Numerous restaurants nearby and of course the amphitheater for the opera.
Central location, close to the Arena, on a street with modest (but sometimes noisy due to motorbikes) traffic. Some guests also do not pay attention to the low soundproofing corridors, so you may be annoyed by the slamming doors. If you also stay near the lift, you'd probably disturbed by the electronic signing it produces (I think the management should have taken care of that). The breakfast is a pleasant surprise, very rich and nice quality breakfast for such a price of 5 euros per person, great value for money. Room clean, bathroom functional, pleasant comfortable mattress, very kind and helpful staff. Providing me with a parking permit to park my car outside the hotel, was really a great convenience, Julia thanks...
The hotel itself was fine. Staff was helpful. We had two rooms for our family of four. We were not given rooms next to each other but were on the same floor. The rooms were basic but clean. Hotel location was good for visiting Verona and getting to/from train station. Breakfast was good and reasonable at 5 euros per person. My biggest problem was the complete lack of sound privacy between rooms. I had neighbors who blasted their television late at night and again early morning. I could hear them talking as if they were in our room. Doors slamming, water running in nearby rooms. I have never experienced a lack of soundproofing between rooms to this extreme. This made for an unpleasant experience.
Based on the visuals on the website, we had better expectation for this little hotel with a very nice location in Verona. The room that we were assigned was on the 1st floor of the new annex with the view of the patio wall and extremely small bathroom and shower so we requested a larger room and was moved to the older part of the original hotel with a tiny old elevator unlike the newer building. We must have been the only guests staying in this part of the hotel as we did not encounter any other guest in 2 days. Again, the larger room turned out to be a 'triple' with an extra bed but the arrangement was pretty uncomfortable and random. There was not English speaking tv programs so we just used our tablets for podcast program. The air conditioning control may look very high tech in the room but it fact does not control the temperature. We had to repeatedly ask the receptionist for help and finally got it turned on so we could keep the inside temperature to 23 degrees. It was up to 30 degrees during the day in Verona at that time. The breakfasts were quite nice and so were the free cocktails around 6 pm. One major help was the hotel offers a parking permit so it's free to park anywhere around that area which was a definitely plus. I would recommend booking for a superior room for 2 people if the price is not a problem. Standard room comes with too small a bathroom which could be my mistake.
The hotel is less than 10 minute walk to the amphitheatre. Quiet, clean room. Helpful staff. Free spritz when we checked in was nice. Breakfast was an extra 5 euros - nothing super special but a fair value.
We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of May '18 and I must say we had a good, positive experience so I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel. The rooms were comfortable for our needs (let's be honest, you don't go to Verona to stay in your room) the bathroom was on the small side but saying that it was modern and practical. Receptionists were very helpful, we were given a parking permit which was very much appreciated as we didn't move the car for the 2 days we were there. Complimentary drink in the evening was a pleasant bonus and our request for a little extra milk for our room wasn't a problem. Breakfast was very nice, not much on the cooked side but still plenty of options. The location of the hotel is very good and within walking distance of the Arena and city centre.
One of the most comfortable hotels we have ever stayed in. The shower was fabulous and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, with options other than just sweet cakes, the cakes were delicious but sometimes you need more ballast for sightseeing. The beautiful bell tower as a view from the terrace was a bonus.
This hotel is in a great location being an easy walk to the Roman Arena and the other main tourist attractions. We arrived prior to check-in time and although we could not check-in the reception staff were very helpful. They gave us a parking permit (which allowed us to park just across from the hotel for free) and explained to us how to get to the parking space. They also stored our bags so that we could set off exploring. Our room was very good, quite large and very clean with all the amenities you would expect from a hotel of this category. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Whilst I had read the positive reviews about breakfast because of the low cost I wasn't really expecting too much. However, it was great. There was a wide selection of fruit, pastries (very fresh) etc as well as scrambled eggs and bacon. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay here.
Proximity to all points and easy access by foot. It is very close to restaurants, to the historic center and to the stores. The room and the hotel were very modern decorated.I am disappointed by the not warm reception. The arrival was not very practical... But I recommend this hotel !
A good value for money hotel near the centre of verona. Booked a larger suite which was well equipped, spacious and had atmosphere. But the biggest let down of the hotel is the pretty drab average foyer. The bar is rubbish, the breakfast area fine but nothing special tho the food was okay. They need an interior designer to come and rethink the whole ground floor. Not somewhere particularly special - but functional.
Great location, walking distance from the sights, restaurants and shops. Hotel is modern, we booked 2 double rooms and a family room - all good size with everything we needed including a kettle and tea (which is unusual in Italy). Shower had mood lighting. We didn't use the free drinks vouchers as we went out for the day to the evening but still nice to have. Lift is a little cosy if you're not good with closed spaces. We parked our car at the multi story next to Burger King which is only 5 to 10 minutes walk away from the hotel and the arena and cost about €17 for 24 hours.
on arrival receptionist ignored us for over 15 minutes and took care of other business and of other people arrived after us without even apologise. Hotel is nice but in the morning we had to have a cold shower as hot water was not working and when asked the reason at reception they told us was a problem all over Verona, (not true when we asked next door hot, I would have apreciated an apology or at list a worning) went for breakfast and we had to que for over 10 minutes. breakfast not so great ether. For the price we paid I would have expected a better stay.
Have just got back home after a three night stay here and was most impressed. The location of the hotel itself is very good and is just a short walk from all the main sights. The hotel itself is modern, clean and welcoming. The rooms are furnished to a high standard and the bed was very comfortable. Staff on the desk were always friendly, and breakfast for five euros is really good value. The complimentary drink each evening is also a nice touch. I would definitely return if I were ever in Verona again and would happily recommend to others.
We booked this hotel with a British Airways package. When we arrived late on our first night check in was easy with no stress. We were told about the complimentary drinks every night in the bar between 6.30pm - 7.30pm. (I think that's the right time) We didn't utilise this. Also that breakfast was 5 euros each every morning. We were on the 4th floor so we got the lift up with our luggage. We had a room at the back of the hotel that was quiet. The room wasn't too small but we struggled as there isn't really anywhere to put your clothes. A wardrobe with a few hangers but that's it. The bed was a comfortable king size which was nice. The bathroom was small but it had everything you needed in it. The only thing that let the bathroom down were the cheap Dove dispensers in the shower and by the sink. It bought the tone down to a Travelodge standard. We thought the AC was terrible. We were so hot in the night even with it on. It's either broken or just rubbish. Breakfast was great. Both of us enjoyed the fruit, pastries, juice drinks, tea and coffee each morning. It is worth paying the 5 euros each for sure. The staff were all very nice and helpful. They recommended places to eat and ordered us a taxi to the airport. We did struggle to sleep one night due to our neighbour coming in late and turning their tv up very very loud. This was nearly 1am in the morning. So as you can imagine we weren't happy about this as we couldn't get to sleep. I just wish people would think about where they are and their surroundings. Other than that we had a great time.
Very well located in a peaceful area but within easy walking distance to main attractions. Good value breakfast for €5. Rooms were spacious and spotless, although beds could have been a little more comfortable. Lovely welcome drink. However, what made this special was the very helpful staff who were prepared to go the extra mile - a credit to Best Western. Particular mention to a young lady with dark hair who was on duty during the morning during our stay and a young man who was on duty during the night who bounded down the stairs to find extra pillows and duvets for us. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We stayed at the Best Western for one night in a family room! The room was bigger than expected and very clean! It was elegantly furnished and had everything we needed. The whole hotel has aircondition. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired! We would happily stay there again.
Stayed for two nights to see the Opera at the Arena. Easy walk from the Station and very close to the Arena and Centre. I had previously requested the ticket to be sent c/o the Hotel. It was handed to me when I checked in before I could ask for it. Pleasant, helpful staff and a comfortable room. Welcome drink at the Bar was unexpected. Breakfast at E5 was excellent value with a good choice. The hotel does not have a restaurant but provided a list of recommended ones. This was an imaginative and interesting list and worth selecting from.
Stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Florence. Hotel was generally really helpful and friendly (rang a restaurant for us that didn't speak good English in order to book for us) and was clean and modern. We had a room upgrade for our honeymoon and so got one with a small terrace with table and chairs to relax in the sun and drink. Great location, only 10-15 minute walk into central Verona high street, and parking was nearby at a multi-storey which we got to without any issue. Overall would highly recommend.
Stayed here for a week as a base, fantastic time, hotel very close to the Arena, and all the shops. We had the only room with a terrace, which was so very lovely. The room was always clean and severed all your needs, mood lighting in shower really nice. Complemetary drink in the evening a nice touch. Staff couldn't be more friendly. Air conditioning fully controlled from room and very effective. 10 min walk to train station ... convenient for airport and 1hr trip to Venice for the day. Would recommend without hesitation. Well done Best Western...a memorable Week!!
We are going on a cruise from Venice so we decided to spend a few days in Verona first. We stayed at the best western de capuleti and I have to say it was one of best hotels I have ever stayed in the staff went above and beyond to help you the place was modern and spotless the breakfast was the best 5 euros you will ever spend unless you win the Euro millions and was only 5 minutes walk from town so 5 stars all the way from me a really pleasant experience
The front desk staff were helpful in many ways. They called a restaurant to change a reservation because I didn't speak Italian. They spoke English very well which helped us when asking for directions to see sites in the city. The room was a good size, very clean and a nice bathroom. We were surprised and pleased with the size of our room.
My adult daughter and I were travelling Italy, visiting relatives. Her college graduation gift. We decided to spend an extra day in Verona but our B&B fell through. Found this place by accident around midnight. Great place. Great rooms, Great breakfast, Fantastic people. Saved the day. Clean, friendly and right in the near center of the city. Would definitely go there again.
Had 3 days visit to Verona with a friend. Hotel was in great location. Quiet area but only 3/4 mins from main square with amphitheater. Hotel is very near Juliet's tomb. Clean, contemporary room, v good standard. Staff were v friendly, polite and helpful. Great breakfast with lots of choice for 5 euros which I thought was great value. Early evening complimentary drink each evening in bar! Definitely recommend this hotel.
Lets start with the moans: we arrived here last year for a few days for the start of our honeymoon and even though the hotel knew this, not one word was mentioned about it. However, having fallen in love with Verona and the easiness of the hotel, we decided to go back this year for our one year anniversary. I had emailed ahead, in the hope to get the same room as last year and they surpassed all expectations. When we arrived, they were all smiles and appeared to have a new manager on the desk who was incredibly efficient. The receptionist from last year remembered our faces and immediately upgraded our room so we had our own private terrace with table and chairs. A lovely touch. The only slight negative we had is that the people in the room above us, were so so loud that every time they moved on the wooden floor we heard it all! Up until they went to bed which on one night wasn't until 3am. I am in no way taking anything away from this hotel because it is lovely, but maybe change the wooden floors and ceilings in this part of the building because it was so loud. We didn't try breakfast here but we ended up going to a lovely cafe - caffe hero - 2 doors up from the hotel for our cappuccino and whatever treat you fancied that morning which suited us more. All in all, we highly recommend this hotel and it is likely to be the only one we stay at now in Verona.
We chose the hotel as it was conveniently located for the opera and it turned out to be a good choice. Rooms are a little small but the service was very friendly the breakfasts at 5€ was exceptional value for money, throw in the free drink each evening and you have a bargain.
I booked this hotel for a weekend trip to northern Italy. I wanted to go for a "sure bet" = chain hotel, not taking the potential risk of a boutique hotel not offering the promised standard. Well, I was certainly not disappointed by Best Western de Capuleti. Location: Close to main touristic attractions (~10 minutes walking distance), as well as on the way to the train station (~20 minutes walking distance). Looks like safe area, wasn't afraid to come back on foot at night. Exterior: The hotel is located in one part of a longer building stretching along the street. At first I was a bit afraid when I've seen the exterior, as from the distance it did not look like a >100EUR/night hotel. But bear with me to the Interior part of the review for a surprise. Interior: The hotel looks like it has just been renovated. I really felt like I am the first guest after the refurbishment. All furniture in the reception or in the rooms is brand new and rather higher quality class. Technically advanced - free highspeed wi-fi is a standard, room appliances (e.g. AC) controlled via touchscreen on the wall. Rooms accessible for guests with disabilities, incl. floor-level shower cabin in the bathroom. I got a single room with queen bed - it was quite small though, but still comfortable, with working desk, tea kettle and free selection of coffee/.tea, refrigerator with minibar. The room was impeccably clean. Breakfast: Excellent breakfast, with large selection of sweet and savory dishes, fresh fruits, cakes, basically anything you wish. Service: i did not use room service or any additional services at the hotel, except for luggage storage. Receptionists very friendly and spoke fluent English. I heard also German was widely spoken (I think it is typical for Verona and surroundings - due to proximity of Austria and Germany). Value for money: I book on short notice = expensive, but luckily I was able to cover part of the bill from loyalty points. The hotel itself was >100 EUR/night, but I wouldn't expect to get a bargain in Verona in the season. If you book in advance and get ~100-120/night with breakfast, then go for it.
We enjoyed our stay our room was on the third floor unless we opened the window it was quite. As it was hot outside the air con was much appreciated cleaning of the room was done well and the lady who cleaned it was friendly and polite, which was the same for all the staff, which made it a very pleasant stay. The receptionists could not have been more helpful finding train times, places to eat and helping to arrange wine tours. We found the breakfast to be of good quality with fruit, meat, fresh rolls and pastry's with plenty of choice of drinks and the staff attentive to what was required. We would recommend this hotel and if we return to Verona would stay there again.
This hotel would have been OK...it is well situated, clean and the rooms are not too small with modern bathroom facilities, BUT we could not understand why Management thought it wise to have FULL CONTROL of the air conditioning. The temperature outside was in the mid-30's (hot) and the room became unbearably hot...when we asked for the air conditioning to be switched on, it was switched on but TURNED OFF soon after??? Polite ignorance of this fact was conveyed by Reception staff to us... In addition, we found the Management's rules, in particular the holding of Passports until departure, ridiculous and somewhat insulting to this hotels' guests...especially when payment of the room was FULLY MADE before and confirmed. In addition the Reception refused to return the Passport, until the Car Parking Ticket was returned... RUDE lack of trust in clients' honesty!! All we can conclude is that Management thinks that the people who choose to stay in this hotel may have dishonest intentions... RIDICULOUS....
Clean and bright, as expected for a Best Western. Bathroom was small, but had all amenities. Our room on the 2nd floor had a private courtyard - great for hanging out the washing. Staff very friendly. If you are travelling by car, remember to ask for a free parking voucher.
Very modern hotel with a small bar, welcome drink, good breakfast facilities and very close to Verona's main attractions. My room was very big and well appointed, shower to die for! It was quite expensive at 200EUR/night when I stayed and I don't really know why as compared to Milan it's double the price, albeit it is in the centre.
Just had a weekend break at this Hotel, Location good, 5mins to Arena, small bar, but "Happy Hour" free drink each evening.we,found reception staff excellent, breakfast was good, plenty of choice, even had bacon n scrambled eggs..our .room was at the back and very quiet, small but immaculate, clean sheets every day. one small gripe, was air con not very good. altogether a lovely weekend hotel break.
Nice modern hotel located just outside of the old town wall. The room was a bit small but considering the fact that it had an entry hall it was of an average size. The bathroom was modern, average size too. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the courtyard so we even had a nice view. The free parking they advertised happened to be on the street, they just provide you with a parking permit, but parking was plentiful and we got a spot right in front of the hotel. The staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. Overall it's a good place for a short stay.
Average hotel with small rooms. Arrived just before seven and finished booking just after, bar closed at seven so could not get a welcome drink which was offered, Be careful with parking your car, not a lot of spaces around
We stayed for one night in Verona, and wanted a well located hotel. I expected a budget stay, and that is exactly what we got. The main problem was that in the time we visited - April - in most hotels in Italy, air conditioning is turned off. This was our fifth hotel during that particular visit to Italy, and in none of the other hotels we had problems (either aircondition was working, or the rooms were cool). In here, it was untolerable. We stayed at level one, which means barely any breeze, and to top it all - the room faces the main street in front of the hotel. That means that if you leave the balcony open for some breeze, you need to deal with both mosqiros - which are plentiful by this time of year - and deal with the occassional loud traffic in the middle of the night (Italian traffic is quite loud - fast cars, lots of motorcycles). To top it all, the shower is plain-out weird and miss-planned: Its only boundry is a shower curtain, and a small slope into a drain - which means that every shower you floor the entire bathroom. On of the worst showers ever! Breakfast was also lackluster - I've definitely had worst ones, but this one was tasteless and felt like airplane food. The bright side? The staff is friendly, and the hotel is well located around 10-20 minutes from most tourist locations - and Verona is full of amazing landmarks. Wasn't the best stay, but when in Europe, location is more important and accomodations - and this hotel has a good location.
Fantastic hotel well appointed rooms with modern conveniences, helpful staff. Is in a great location close to all the tourist highlights including the Colosseum and Juliet's house. Definitely recommend to business and tourists
Modern hotel within a good location. 10 min walk from verona train/bus station and 5-10 walk to the Arena. Staff were friendly, breakfast buffet was mainly continental with scrambled egg and bacon pre-prepared. The 6pm-7pm free drink each evening was a nice touch. Rooms were a reasonable size with a small balcony. Only issue was the bathroom size - adequate but the smallest we had ever seen. We would stay here again if we ever visit Verona again.
The hotel is a small one but well located ( just 10 minutes walk from city center ). Staff was friendly and very helpful and everything ran smoothly; check-in, check-out, parking arrangement. Rooms are small but nice organized; if you do not have too large luggage and clothes then is just fine ( I stayed only four days ). Small but clean. Breakfast is very convenient at five euros/ person!!! Do not expect champagne or Beluga but you shall not get hungry and bread is fresh. Parking on the street is subject to available places - usually, after 6:00 p.m. there are good chances to get one. Certainly I would return if visiting Verona again.
I stayed here 3 nights over New Year and was happy with this hotel . The location is excellent , being near to the centre but on a quiet street . When you walk in there is a pleasant , friendly atmosphere thanks to the staff. I enjoyed the complimentary drink between 6 and 7 in the bar every evening as you could choose between a soft drink or prosecco or aperol spritz which happen to be my drinks of choice ! The breakfast was worth 5 euros and I was impressed with the large choice they offered in a compact space . The cold food was more to my taste with lots of pastries , cakes , cheese , yogurt and fresh fruit . They even had gluten free options and I liked the cappucino machine . The walls were a little thin - I could hear my brother in the room next door receiving my text messages ! However we still got a good nights sleep . I would happily stay here again .
My Wife and I stayed at this hotel for three nights including New Years Eve. We traveled with my Sister, Chocolate Hobbit and her Husband and all 4 of us were pleased overall with our choice. We normally pick a 4 star hotel but wanted to keep the cost down this year, hence this hotel. Check in was friendly and efficient and thereafter, all the staff that we had dealings with were friendly and helpful. I felt that the hotel had a bit of a family feel to it. Our room was not large but was big enough for a short stay. I think some ladies would say that there wasn't enough storage but it was OK for us. The bathroom was very compact but everything worked well. Only two niggles. The room was too hot and we could not get the temperature below 20.4 deg C even with the window open on tilt which made it a bit uncomfortable at night. We like to do our bit for the environment and hung our bath towels on the hooks so that they could be re-used and each day they were replaced with new ones. Why do hotels request this if they don't carry it through? Noise from the outside was low even with the window open but we could hear noise from the rooms either side . Luckily we did not have noisy neighbours. We enjoyed the free drink in the bar between 6-7pm each night and the breakfast was really good for just 5 Euro. ( Usual fayre but well presented. ) The hotel location is great being just outside the old city wall and a 10 minute stroll gets you to the Arena. Would we stay again? Yes. We loved Verona and it made a good place to stay at New Year with free live music and great fireworks at the arena. There is plenty to see and do, all within easy walking distance for someone of average fitness level. I can recommend the 2 day Verona pass for access to places of interest, We more than had our monies worth even without using the included local buses.
Stayed as a couple for 1 night , great location in the old town within walking distance of all the sites. Modern decor with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. Breakfast buffet was excellent and good value. Only concern was that the AC had been turned off for the season so no way to control the heat / cool and if you leave the window open you will wake early with the traffic !
Lovely hotel in Verona city center, just about 5 minutes walk to Arena di Verona. Room was very nice with spacious bathroom and the breakfast was very good. Finding a parking space on the street was not a problem. Recommended
We visited Verona in late Sept 2016 and all the staff that we had dealings with were extremely polite, very helpful, informative and spoke English. The hotels is very clean and modern, it appears to have been recently refurbished. Our room was large and the bathroom was extremely clean with a large shower and the towels are plush and very white. The beds are also super comfortable, we had a great nights sleep. Our room was at the front of the building therefore we had a balcony with a great view but it was very quiet at night, we did not hear any noise from the street below. We enjoyed breakfast and there was a good verity of food and drink choice. Even though we had a car we walked from the hotel to all the sights that we wanted to see in Verona. The hotel is located just outside the old city walls and is only a short distance from the Verona Arena (Roman amphitheater). I have no complaints about this hotel and would stay there again.
Super clean, wonderful reception staff Made us welcome couldn't have been more helpful Fantastic breakfast our room was cleaned daily good air con near enough to walk to the centre and train station about 15 min away.
We visited Verona 22-26th August 2016. The hotel is a short drive from Verona Airport, approx cost 35 euros for two, and time approximately half an hour. The hotel is situated just outside the city itself but there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars surrounding it if you do not feel like a short walk after your journey. It will take about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel into the centre of Verona and the Arena area. The hotel staff are very obliging and speak English well. We received a warm welcome and the facilities were explained clearly to us. The hotel appears to have been very recently refurbished and it presents as clean and modern. The rooms have all facilities required by the traveller, including a mini-bar, safe, tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. The bathroom was very modern with an enormous walk-in shower, perfect for anyone who would find bathing difficult. At night the hotel was quiet with no noise from the road outside. If there is a criticism, it is the lack of drawer space and most items have to be stored on glass shelves positioned around the room. The contemporary lighting, although atmospheric, suffered from a lack of intensity, making it difficult to read a book without sitting underneath one of the side lights provided. These are small niggles as the stay was very pleasant and I would return again.
The hotel seemed newly refurbished. The room and bathroom were very nice and modern. The hotel itself is in a quiet street just outside the old city walls. 5 minute walk to the roman Arena and Piazza Bra. Breakfast buffet is good and varied.
Ask for a parking pass , they have limited supply but it is free . We parked a block awY . The rooms were nice . Coffee included . Apersol Spritz for free at happy hour . Great location walked everywhere. Nice location if going to opera . Great deli next door . Bought wine cakes and more at good prices
Verona is a lovely city. Whenever I am in Europe, especially Italy, I look for the upper level Best Western Hotels. They invariably are small exquisite boutique hotels with a lovely breakfast run by an excellent staff, who act like owners of a small hotel with all the caring and involvement. The hotel is just outside the walls and about 3-5 min from the Arena. The people at the front desk, the breakfast, the bar and the cleaners were all very kind, efficient and professional. The room was lovely on a quiet street.
This is a great little hotel that is cheap clean and in a great location. You can't get in the bathroom if someone is already in there but the multilingual staff, awesome breaky that is included plus free stuff in the fridge make this hotel well worth the stay. It is very clean, has awesome freebies great wifi and I would highly recommend.
We stayed here 2 nights, it's just a few minutes from the Arena. The welcome was good, we immediately received a permit to park (for free) near the hotel. Great service! The room was very modern, very clean, had an excellent shower and a good bed. They offer a free drink at 5.30pm, and they have a modest but nice breakfast buffet for just 5€. Modern, quiet, clean, quality everywhere!
We stayed here for 3 nights and it worked well for a visit to the opera. The staff are friendly and competent and you are offered a complementary drink at night. Breakfast is ok and inexpensive. Rooms are quiet apart from those near the cleaners work station. I've stayed here twice and would stay again.
If you are in Verona, do not stay at the hotel Best Western Capuleti. Beware of good comments. Although the room is beautiful and spacious, the fact remains that the walls are made of cardboard and you hear everything that comes from other rooms. So when your neighbor gets up at 6 am, you are awake too. And people at reception really didn't care of the problem and just apologized, no move was made. When you pay 150 euros per night or more than $ 220 CA you are waiting for a good value for your money. Stay away from this hotel and find another one where the owners take care of your comfort first and your money after.
The shower is more powerful than any i have ever used. Hot and sizzling. AC works well and wifi is good. But room is too small. The bathroom toilet area is too cramped. Not enough table space next to bed. Light switches have no apparent function to switch off lights near you. Totally random effect of using switches. Ac control panel does a 3 minute LED disco move after you touch it. Good to see but totally useless in the middle of the night when you want it to stop.
Walking distance from the Arena, very comfordable bed and soundproof rooms. Good breakfast. Good value for money. Brwakfast was ok, just wished to have some real "man-made" expresso coffee instead of the one prepared by the automatic machine.
The hotel was an excellent oasis - it was immaculate and the staff were very helpful with perfect English Would highly recommend this hotel - well situated, well appointed and very good staff. Breakfast was perfect also and great value for €5
Small but perfectly appointed rooms, making for an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Close to Piazza Bra, the heart of Verona. Helpful staff. Offers breakfast. Has fourth floors. The rooms with rear view overlook an old, disused church making for a quaint view. Most, if not all rooms, have a small, pleasant balcony. A nice surprise overall.
Highly recommended for a quiet and comfortable stay. Staff very helpful always with a smile. Breakfasts fresh, good quality products with a Gluten Free selection. The location is excellent for the sites of Verona and also not too far from the train station. Access to really good food is in the area and would particularly recommend " Vecio Macello" restaurant for top notch food, way above the average sold to tourists.
The staff (especially Allesandro and Jennifer at the front desk) were friendly and helpful; the breakfast was good quality and an excellent value (5€ if not included in the room price); the room and lobby were both clean, good size, comfortable; the wifi worked well; good linens, towels and toiletries; the price was very reasonable; and the Aircon worked well In short, a very solid place to stay for a night or two. Verona is a great city to visit, so I recommend staying at least one night (v. a day trip) if that is possible.
This hotel is convenient to the train station, bus stop, Piazza Bra and the arena. AC was great, the room was a good size, marble floors, nice bedding, room darkening shades, a nice balcony and modern lighting. The staff ( Alessandro was great) were helpful, friendly and spoke English. The 5€ breakfast was a surprise! Delicious meats, cheeses, yogurt, breads, eggs, fruit, and homemade sweets. The coffee was from a fancy machine and tasted great. Free drink at happy hour too. We would definintely stay here again as the price was good at $130.
We have so many good things to say about our stay here. Location: we could walk just a few minutes and be within the wall. Parking: we were driving and had found parking in old towns and restricted areas difficult. We were given a parking pass and we found free parking immediately outside the hotel and one day just across the street in the parking lot. Wifi: free and fast. Room: we had a balcony that was lovely. The room was comfortable and the beds were great. Shower excellent. Everything was spotless. Architecture: this has been redone and it is very tasteful. Breakfast: oh my goodness. IT was huge and lots of variety. We ate too much! Extras: we were given complimentary drinks in the evening. We went the first night and had the trademark Spritz. We were out the next two nights we stayed :( The staff could not have been more helpful. We left for a car outing one day and they made sure to call the restaurant (Trattoria La Griglia was nearby and delicious) and make reservations for us that evening.
We recently spent two nights in Verona at the Hotel De Capuleti. We had a great experience on all fronts. The hotel was spotlessly clean; the rooms were comfortable and had a little private veranda (SO nice). Breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help you with anything they could. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in Verona - convenient location to everything, as well. Would also be very nice if traveling as a couple or a family.
Great location, very close to the Arena and other main city sights. Parking is a little tricky. Make sure the hotel confirms that parking is arranged before you arrive. We had to park in the street outside using the hotel's parking permit. Air Con was not working during our visit, which made for an uncomfortable night, but we got a free breakfast in compensation. By the way, breakfast was especially good. Wifi was good.
The location of the hotel is very convenient, walking distance from Verona train/bus station and is central enough for easy access to the sites of the city. The staff are friendly and helpful, suggesting best places to visit and restaurants to try and the complimentary glass of prosseco was a nice touch. The room was very comfortable and there was plenty of choice for breakfast.
Location was right in the centre and price was really great value. Arrived late and was happy when staff were able to provide us with a free overnight parking pass right outside. Couldn't fault it as a great overnight stay. Only thing is it is not traditionally Italian and could be anywhere. If that's what you're after then perhaps look at alternatives
The place is spotlessly clean and ideally located, the staff is very helpful, and the breakfast is great. I definitely would stay here again and recommend it to friends. One can walk to almost everything from this location.
We liked this hotel. It looks like it has been refurbished very recently as everything is brand new. Windows are all double glazed so no noise from the streets and a good night sleeps. Very nice breakfast in the morning too with fresh products. They also offer free parking in the streets in front. We recommend this hotel which is only 9 minutes from the arena.
Everything ok: helpful receptionist, nice breakfast, clean room although small, everything ok really. Hm maybe the price was high but well all Verona is expensive so nothing unusual on the high price...
Stayed here for one night and the accommodations were very comfortable and clean. We arrived late evening and had a car which the Front Desk Agent was more than helpful with getting is a space right by the door. Breakfast had a very nice selection.
This property upholds all the benefits of the Best Western chain. Reliable, very functional, comfortable and with all the conveniences a traveler needs. Located just outside of the city wall, you can reach all of the city within minutes. Free parking too!! Really excellent wifi.
Coming from a very traditional and spacious hotel ion Florence, this Best Western represents, to some extent, a considerable contrast. The room was good enough for three persons. Very modern and peaceful despite the fact that the room was facing the street. The room also icnludes a small balcony. Bathroom was OK. Judging from the other passengers, this is a hotel for business travellers. The buffet breakfast was fine. Staff always there to attend all your needs and provide advice for your visit to the city. If you asked, I will happily return to it.
Stayed here for 4 nights in the middle of February. Very good location, just over 5 minutes walk away from the Piazza Bra & Roman Arena, but located in an area that doesn't get too much outside noise. The train station (& airport bus link) is a 20-25 walk away. It's a relatively straightforward route, despite looking a bit awkward on the map. The hotel itself is good enough, not huge, but not as cramped as some reviewers make it out to be. It does depend on what you're used to, but look at it as what you'd expect an 3 star independent hotel to be like size-wise, rather than a corporate chain hotel, & you should get the idea. However the design of the place was a bit strange. Our room had a small patio balcony area that you could have a small table & chairs on, but you couldn't actually go out onto, being there's only a window not a door! The room & bed was otherwise comfortable enough, the shower especially good. The staff were fine. The breakfast was also fairly good. Not a huge selection, but the cold foods were of a good standard, plenty of cakes available if you have a sweet tooth! The hot food is not really worth bothering about. Our stay also included a free drink in the hotel bar (a small windowless room adjacent to the hotel reception). Again, a bit of a strange design but you can't really grumble as you're getting a complimentary drink, & the overall value for what you're getting is very good. Overall this is a good place to stay.
Very expensive hotel without any main comfort, located in an nasty 70' yrs building. The wellness center is a little sauna and turkish bath where you pay €25 pax for using it. In the room you hear everything happen in the next room. The people at the desk is not so kind and smart. Verona is a wonderful tiwn, so the nect time I hope to find something better
Verona is a small town but many said it`s great for sightseeing. So as this hotel, it`s not large but the experience living there is comfortable. Hotel is located near the historical centre. We walked to the most famous Piazza Erbe at around 15 minutes. If you enjoy walking and looking, don`t miss the road on riverside. It`s very beautiful and romantic especial at night. Hotel room is clean and simple but not small, around 25 sqm. Our room also has a small balcony so we could breath the freshy air at anytime we want. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good although we need to pay additonal 5 euros per head, but believe me you would not be disappointed. If you arrive Verona by train and bring along bulky luggage, no need hesitate, just go take a taxi in front of train station entrance. It costs you around 8 to 15 euros (holiday needs extra services charge) to hotel at 10 minutes with no hassel. The only negative is the hotel entrance, its a bit small and not easy to find.
We truly wish our travels could have been longer in Verona, if only to be able to stay at Hotel De Capuleti for one more night. Yes, the accommodations were small, however the welcoming and inviting feel made all of that disappear. As well, the bathroom was very big, clean, and modern. The buffet breakfast was plentiful.
Loved this hotel : we were there a week so we wanted to enjoy the hotel as well as Verona. We did not accept the first room choice given but were shown three and chose a room with a view, balcony and 6 ft bed. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel : used the spa, fab breakfast and central location : and a free drink every evening. Would recommend to anyone and loved loved and loved Verona!
It was a challenge to find this hotel in the old section of Verona as we did not have good directions, but I called reception and Giulia very kindly stayed on the phone with us until we arrived. Parking is scarce, but the hotel staff found us a spot directly in front of the building. Those are the negatives. The positives are the central location, friendly staff, nicely refurbished rooms, complimentary cocktail, and a good breakfast. Giulia in particular went out of her way to help us with directions to the sights and restaurant recommendations. I would recommend this hotel for a city stay, but keep in mind that it can be very pricey during opera season.
Hotel very good. Service excellent. Breakfast of a good quality. Bedrooms nicely furnished, but, a little small. Location a few minutes walk from the historical city center. Price of rooms in accordance with this high tourist location.
Would recommend this hotel for short stays for me 3 days was perfect time and would definatly stay here again this hotel is perfect for the short walks to the city very friendly polite nice staff, professional team breakfast was very good a choice
Positives: Guilia (think that's how you spell it) on reception and the younger barman, both very helpful. Guilia was very helpful with information and helped us with trains to Venice. Gave us a lovely welcome to the hotel. Rooms very modern and clean. Location is great, 5 minute walk to Piazza Bra. Not so positives: reception smelt a bit of drains. Rooms are not at all sound proofed so you hear every noise, especially those next to the lifts (which really they all are) as the ping of the lift arriving is so loud. I asked the receptionist (not Gulia, but the lady with the long blonde hair) if we could move but she wasn't really helpful she just shook her shoulders as if I was mad. Couldn't be bothered to cause a scene so stayed as we were as most of the rooms were near the lift. Breakfast staff not too helpful, and not even a smile on their faces. Breakfast poor. Things has run out on our first day when we got there at 9:30, even though breakfast is until 10:30. Coffee awful (who'd have thought in Italy), fruit juice awful, selection generally very very poor. Rooms have no drawer space. Bar is lousy, not worth having. Badly laid out, with seating areas of three and three and one table of four. It should be two or four, not three!! You wouldn't want to spend any time there. Also the 'happy hour' is 7:30-8:30 which personally I think is a terrible time, should be 6-7. And the choice of free drink is rubbish, only three options. Aperol Spritz, prosecco or fruit juice. They could include a small beer or wine.
We are just coming to the end of a four night stay in the lovely town of Verona staying at the Hotel de Capuleti. This is an absolutely fantastic hotel for a three star which could easily be five star. We had such a dismal stay at a hotel in Venice for the previous four days at a four star hotel which really was the 'pits' , to then arrive here it was just so uplifting. The room was all mod cons, a lovely size, fabulous bathroom and tastefully decorated and furnished throughout. Plenty of electrical sockets, free drinks on arrival and free water in the mini bar. The hotel was ideally situated, approx five minutes walk from the Arena and the historical part of town. A fabulous pizzeria located just through the arch on the main road called the Leon D'Oro if you fancied a meal near to the hotel in fabulous illuminated gardens. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, especially the morning breakfast staff. The breakfast was served in a bright modern and clean area downstairs and was a self service style arrangement. Again a great selection of food available. We would highly recommend this hotel to fami.y and friends and would stay here again ourselves. A gem of a hotel in a beautiful town.
Exceptionally clean newly refurbished hotel in the city center. Breakfast was excellent in quality and choice. Parking is the only problem in that it is very scarce. We had no problem parking but were lucky to find a free space right on the street in front. If you want a spot on the street you better arrive very early in the morning.
This is a three star hotel in the lists but has been refurbished as a 5 star hotel. It is only 5 minutes walk from the Arena and quiet. The breakfast is everything you would get in a 5 star and at 7.30 each evening you can have a free drink. The staff are 'smiley' and helpful. Great value
Stayed for 2 nights on a business trip, hotel room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. My room (106) even had its own patio area. Looked like the room had recently been refurbished and the interface unit for the air con, room status etc was excellent. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was really good. Room was quite expensive but as it was the opera season its probably expected (160 euro /day)
