I had stayed here before while on business. I liked it then and I like it now. The hotel is in a good location. They have nice, clean comfortable rooms. The hotel is up to date, hotel staff is friendly, and we were able to get a good night sleep. You can't ask for much more than that. The breakfast is good. I will return when in the area.
My wife and I spent six nights at Best Western Plus in Tyler and our stay went well. We will return any time we need a hotel in Tyler. The location at West Rieck Road and South Broadway Avenue is extraordinarily convenient to restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores, gas stations, a mall, shopping centers and more. You can walk across the street to many places. My wife and I think it's the best location in Tyler for a hotel. We like that the hotel is somewhat small. Three levels. We felt secure. All doors but the front door are locked 24/7. We had not visited Tyler and this hotel in two years. In that time, the hotel has been undergoing updating. We were told some furniture is being replaced in rooms. Overall, the building looked in good condition inside and out. We met several pleasant staff members. Across many years, we have enjoyed our stays at this hotel. We consider the hotel a good value.
Very clean and comfortable nice pool area Breakfast very much the same boring stuff as with all hotels tho but at least the yogurt choice was more varied but no fruit on offer tho they had fruit pots in the chiller Nice coffee machine just opposite breakfast area available 24/7 the latte was delicious thank you for having the machine as an avid coffee drinker it was a welcome touch - there was also a percolator in the room but the coffee was very weak - please upgrade your brand of coffee
This little hotel is very centrally located on the main road in Tyler. Numerous restaurants and stores within walking distance. Large Mall within walking distance. Clean hotel, friendly staff
Service was great. Excellent hot breakfast. Disappointed that the pool was closed for cleaning. Never saw anyone actually cleaning it during my stay, but that's what I was told at the front desk.
Did not help at all when we asked! Never cleaned the room! Asked 4 days in a row!had to go get towels and wash rags every night when we got back to room
BestWestern has always proved to be excellent and never had any complaints. Have been using these hotels for many years now and always enjoy the friendly reception and accomodation. Prices are very good ( some areas have higher rates, but this is acceptable).
Furniture was very worn. Broken molding. Sheets had stains. Windows were broken and filthy. Check in clerk was rude and check out clerk was too busy visiting with a friend to care that we needed to check out. Unable to use door in back or pool are, clerk just shrugged it off. Used to be a great hotel, but won't stay here again.
Our room was very spacious and clean. We had a king size bed, a leather couch and chair, 2 tv's, microwave and refrigerator. The hotel was very close to the mall and many, many restaurants. Great location.
I took a month long trip and have stayed at many Best Western Hotels along the way. Many were fantastic but this one…not so much. It's not an inviting place to stay! It did provide shelter from the cold winter storm and worked for a 1 night stay. Staff was very friendly.
This is a very bice clean little hotel in middle of Tyler Texas. There are numerous restaurants and lots of shopping within walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel is always clean. It has recently been remodeled and it has a nice pool and spa
I love the staff and the manager is very knowledgeable and she cares about her customers comfort. I loved the free breakfast and comfort of the rooms. I would recommend to all of my family and friends.
This Southpark Best Western had been a go-to for me in Tyler, and as long as it's going great, I'm going to keep visiting it. I just like the location, and there are many good eating places and other conveniences nearby, many on Broadway. My room on this latest visit had a great view of the eastern sky, so at sunrise, it's worth looking outside through the window. Good bed, great shower (with multiple spritz pulsings to wash and massage), and especially, great walk-around space which was also good for the hotel dolly for loading and unloading. The TV was working fine (and the remote a bit TOO good), but it's hampered by a limited number of channel choices. The elevator forces you to press 1 real hard just to get the light highlighted. Be warned when it comes time to go down to the first floor. I've got a humorous story for you. My room's telephone allowed me to be able to set up a wake-up call time for the next morning. That morning was taking place on December 18, 2023, but that wasn't what the phone gave me as I was setting the time on this latest visit. The date it gave out was..............................January 10, 1980!! Bizarre, right? I set the time anyway, but fortunately, the room did have an actual alarm clock on the desk across the room, and I was able to set that and use that. Which, of course, turned out to be a good thing because the telephone did not ring and wake me up. The alarm clock did its thing, although I wonder why the powers that be wanted to put it over there instead of next to the bed like I've seen at some other locations...? Just funny stuff. Thank goodness for real alarm clocks! Will I be back here? Sure, I will. If I have points to use, then the chance of doing it will be much better. The front desk was great as always. And if I get a second-floor room (which happened on the latest visit as well as a few previous ones), then that makes it better, as the corridor walkway overlooks the lobby. I like that design!
This is a great little hotel right in the center of Tyler. Multiple resturants and shopping within walking distance. We have stayed here a number of times and it is always quiet and clean. The staff is very hepful and friendly
Hi my name is Eason, I stayed at this location on 2 separate occasions 8/3 - 8/4 and 8/7 - 8/9. During my second stay, I asked the concierge if there were multiple HDMI options available. The concierge informed me that they do not have multiple HDMI options at this location. However, I was at this exact location just three days prior where I was able to use a different HDMI. It was disappointing to hear that the concierge was blatantly lying to me about the availability of HDMI options. Not to mention, it felt extremely unprofessional because the concierge was on her tablet sitting off to the side doing something where she didn't want to be disturbed. I feel like this is incredibly insensitive to people that don't want to be stuck with the limited television options.
This hotel is in the center of all kinds of shopping and restuarants. It is also very near the University. We have stayed here several times and it is always clean, It has also been remodeled in the last year.
We traveled to Tyler, Texas for a family member's wedding and stayed two nights. The hotel was clean and very well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were many dining options nearby. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone staying in the Tyler area.
This hotel never ceases to exceed expectations when it comes to cleanliness, customer service and customer caring! The whole staff is warm, friendly and caring. You can tell they like what they do. The weather was horrible, but they made the hotel nice and comfortable.
I almost didn't book at BW Plus Southpark after reading online reviews, but realizing that a lot of them were several months old, I thought I would chance it... glad I did! It was very nice! No construction!
My wife and I spent six nights at Tyler's Best Western Plus in late September. We enjoyed our stay and will stay there again when we visit Tyler in the future. Best Western Plus' location is extraordinarily convenient. It is close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, grocery stores and many other kinds of stores and businesses. There is an excellent walking trail and park, Rose Rudman Park. Best Western Plus is clean, well maintained and quiet. We have no complaints.
This was a nice place. The room was clean and comfortable and quiet. The bed was good. I did almost pass by the driveway because from my direction it was difficult to see. The area felt safe. I would stay there again.
I love Best Western and always try to find them when traveling and mostly have good experiences but this one let me down. The area at the front door was covered in pigeon poop and was not clean at all. The staff was friendly which is a plus but the breakfast had very few options. The bed was comfy but toilet was very loud when flushing.
Elevator not working! Juice bar and the breakfast bar were inadequate! When I spoke to manager on the phone she was rude and unprofessional! She was not on the premises during w my weekend stay of Saturday and Sunday
We were welcomed by friendly staff. That's when I learned the pool was closed. I was told the website informed guests but I double checked and it only disclosed that there were renovations going on and nothing about amenities being unavailable. The restroom door to the room didn't close properly. No other complaint for this location.
Been coming here for the last couple of years and every time I have had a great stay, they recently finished renovating the breakfast area & lobby and it looks outstanding! The staff is always great and helpful! I enjoyed swimming in the pool and my little ones enjoyed the kids pool! The breakfast was outstanding and the front desk was very helpful with checking me in! I loved all the great restaurant choices around me and I also loved having Walgreens right next door! This was overall a great stay and I recommend staying here as this gets you the more bang for your buck!
The location was nice, and close to dining and shopping. Staff was friendly and the room was a comfortable size. The only issue was the smoking rooms between the nonsmoking. The stench lingered in the hallways.
Reservations for 2 rooms side by side was made month in advance for first floor, mom handicap. Only 1 room on first floor, had another on 2nd floor. Elevator broken, had to go up & down stairs to get mom ready for a wedding. Staff was rude & not helpful. They refused early check in so we could have enough time to dress for the wedding that started at 6pm, 30 minutes away. Part of the guest wanted to use the pool the next day but it isn't even open for the season. I was unable to use the gym as it was marked closed for remodel, but you could see that a treadmill was on through the glass window. Ice machine broken on first floor so there again mom cant climb stairs so I had to assist. The ac didn't work in the stair wells, hall ways or any of the common areas. The city inspection certificate was expired. Overall the hotel was dirty and debris from remodel everywhere. The contractors were not present but there mess sure was. The breakfast area was also closed off as they stated this too was being remodeled. If you wanted anything breakfast, what little they offered, you had to take it back to your room to eat. The vending machine on the second floor was completely empty. The can drinks in the machine downstairs were very old as they had old marketing advertisements on them. The new softdrinks for these same brands have a different logo. When we finally did get to check into our room ---we had to tow all the luggage up the hot stair well and get to the door only to find the keycard did not work. So back down the stairs to stand in line again and get it activated. No apology from the front desk. She seemed put out that we were bothering her. I stepped on several screws on the stairs coming down and also the carpet was loose. The upstairs had a bad odor...like mold. It also smelled like someone had been smoking in the room which was a nonsmoking room. Upon check out instead of our rate being reduced for all the trouble that they put us through - they actually had the nerve to charge my dad $40 more than the reserved price! I have lots of pictures of the unsightly appearance of this property. The front desk told my dad that they have been under remodel for a long time. I witnessed another guest, who had a husband in a wheelchair, ask the front desk for a band aide for him. She said they would have to go to Walgreens as they do not offer necessity items of any kind to guest. I have stayed at many of places that do offer items for purchase that the guest might need that they forgot to bring. That poor woman had to load up her husband and leave the hotel for a band aide. This location in Tyler Texas on Rieck Drive needs the attention from corporate office desperately. Someone needs to close it down. Some of the work rooms had doors that were left open and guest could see in. The laundry room was open and guest could see in. Overall unprofessional staff and worst hotel ever for Tyler, Texas,
We spent two nights and found all but the adjustable chair more than comfortable! The room was quiet, very clean, with amenities we enjoy. Good wifi connections, easily set up. They do need to update the TV controls, but we didn't use it that much anyway. Nearby restaurants, easy access to any part of Tyler.
We've stayed at the Best Western in Tyler, TX numerous times in past ten years. I'm a Best Western Platinum member... but I'm done with this place. There is nothing "Plus" about it. Yes...renovations were being done on the first floor breakfast room but things were accommodated to the lobby. We booked a room on the upper level rear to avoid traffic noise. When we checked in the desk clerk said they had a third floor front room available. Because of time we took the offer. What we didn't know was that they were having difficulty with THE elevator. We made it to the third floor with a luggage cart and that was the last time we found the elevator working for 3 nights. The front desk staff were very personable and apologetic and said the elevator was going to be repaired the next day. It didn't happen! So we used the stairs for four days. Then on departing, this 78 year old guy humped a cart full of luggage to ground level. When we expressed frustration to the desk personnel they suggested we call "Amber" the manager. Speaking with "Amber" on the phone when I returned home I was even more frustrated with her version of "Customer Service". Why didn't they tell us there is was an issue with the elevators and put us on the first floor? Amber said that she came in on our third night and fixed the elevators. BS!!! She came in and put a sign on the elevators not to use them. They didn't work that night or the next morning. The room attendants told us not to use them because some one got stuck. Amber was full of "attitude" and is not a good representative for Best Western. She said it was a Mechanical Issue and not a Customer Service issue. I told her she could call it anything that she wanted, checking any box but we didn't have elevator service from the third floor for three nights. We had paid for a hotel room on the third floor with a working elevator. $470. Wow! Done with Best Western "Plus" in Tyler and Amber.
The hotel was very unclean the carpet had paint stains throughout the hallway and the carpet was loose. The second floor smelled like mold and trash. Furniture was ripped and not all amenities available. Amber the manager was very unprofessional when these deficiencies were brought to her attention. I would not recommend stay here. I recommend staying at Staybridge hotel and Suites.
I was highly disappointed, when I booked the hotel.! There was NO indication that construction was going on. We where given a 2nd floor room. It looked like something right out of a horror film! When I asked the front desk, she said it's on every website, (which if it was I won't have booked here) was told go to the 3rd floor. That's what the 2nd floor will look like.
Should've mention remodeling before I booked the rooms. Very gross walking to room and then remodel dust settled into room. No clean towels after first day, but took the used. Staircase covered in plastic that was covered in construction stuff. But still had to pay $150 per night
Don't know why there were negative reviews on this hotel. we stayed one night traveling through in mid March 2022. There was a funky smell upon entry to the hotel, but the front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. We were in room 124 and it looked freshly painted, smelled like cleaning product or perhaps it was the new carpeting. It was very clean and we could find nothing to complain about. Yes, the toilet is loud when flushed, but can't say it was an issue. Front desk also called to make sure the room was okay. Nice touch! Breakfast was your basic hotel breakfast, but my husband thought it was better than most. Would definitely recommend.
Found myself out of town middle of the night and in need of a room and Best Western is there with a very nice and comfortable place to stay for a reasonable price. As always the room I very quiet and relaxing which allows for some quality sleep even if it's for a few hours it's still beneficial and it's all because of the comfort the room provides.
On check-in the hotel seemed dated but when I went to take a shower the water pressure was very low make it hard to rinse off. In the middle of the night the alarm went off next door and woke us up. I tried calling the room but got no answer. I then tried calling the front dest to see if they could shut it off. Several attempts to reached the front desk failed. Since we were up we decided to checkout and go somewhere else.We were going to stay two nights but cut our stay short and moved to another brand.
Rooms were dirty-found a bottle of some ointment next to chair(plain sight) and all furniture and all doors have chips in them. Felt it necessary to do our own wipe down! Breakfast (claimed Covid protocols) were the pit and we chose to eat elsewhere. Overall, we will NEVER recommend this to anyone and are sorry that three other rooms of friends felt the same.
The noise level above us was so loud. I called the front desk 3 times during our stay to ask if they would tell them to stop running. Unfortunately it didn't help. Hair was in the tub along with 2 bugs.
Booked this property largely based on the Tripadvisor rating. Boy were we misled! I should've known something was up from the "man trap" vestibule with bulletproof glass window for afterhours check-in. Once we got to the room, we found that damage to the walls had not been repaired and, most concerning, the bathroom was not clean. There were shards of used toilet paper on the floor, bits of fecal matter and urine on the toilet, and a hair on the soap dispenser. The man at the front desk was nice enough to let us change rooms but the new one was almost as bad. Wound up going to a different hotel altogether. Sadly, this place needs an injection of cash and a more attentive housekeeping team. I'd recommend booking a different property for your trip.
I made a 3 night reservation to stay for funeral arrangements for my father. arrived at 10:30 pm, and was told the elevator was broken, so I would have to climb to the 3rd floor even though I had surgery 2 weeks earlier. that time of night it was too late to find another hotel. The wall covering in the hall was hanging down in several places showing black mold from water leaks. the recliner in the room looked like it came from Goodwill. the soap dispenser in the shower were all empty. Told the manager I was leaving and not staying 2 more nights. He upped my one night charge to the Saturday night rate. Anyone who says this is a nice place is simply giving a false review.
Room was more than adequate. With the pandemic, we didn't expect a lot of extras. Location was really close to relatives and easy to get to. Elevator was inoperative, which may have deterred others from staying there. Room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.
Elevator, Vending machines, Fitness Room all three OUT OF ORDER! Your not allowed to sit down and eat the cold breakfast because of " Covid" its TO GO only! Not up to Best Western standards! SUCKS Big
The staff are very helpful and nice. This hotel is in a perfect location for shopping and eating while in Tyler. The breakfast was hot and had a good variety, they also had someone serve you, which is very nice. Extra towels where place on your room door handle the next morning, so you don't have to go and ask for extra the next day. We really enjoyed our stay
Elevator was not working....only found out because I called to see if a refrigerator and microwave were available in the room. Was put in a room on 3rd floor, the stairwell was not well lit which made it hard to see the stairs. Hotel is very outdated there is peeling wall paper, carpet has lumps in it. My room had a light bulb out in the bathroom. The air conditioner was set on 66, but never got cool. Called to ask for a fan, was told they had to check and would call back. No call back, checked again and was told no fans. Staff needs to work on friendliness and customer service. Coke machine had nothing diet or zero in it. Was told I could go across the street to the Walgreens that was open 24 hours. Water was all over the floor in front of the vending machines. I would not recommend staying here. The $89 a night was too much for the accomodations.
Unless you can get a ground floor room, don't stay here until they get the elevator repaired or replaced! When we checked in we were told the elevator would be repaired the next day, it wasn't. Then the next day, it wasn't. Finally the owner told us it was going to have to be replaced!! This proved to be very problematic.
After driving 23 hr my family couldn't wait to get out of the car and sleep. Before we could do that I had to clean the room. Thank goodness I travel with extra lysol and wipes because even though we are in covid times and things are supposed to be extra clean ... you can't count on them being that way. Upon check in and initial inspection of the room it was noticeably not vacuumed. Crumbs of some sort all over the floor. I pulled back the fitted sheet to find toe nail clipping and dirt on one of the beds a long black hair on the pillow. The bathroom when my husband went to shower had another long black hair on the shower wall and what hopefully we're beard hairs in the sink. The toilet had dried pee on it . Again I cleaned the room so we could just go to sleep but at check out asked for a manager and there was not one on duty. I told the lady I took pictures and was going to write a review thinking maybe there was a manager after all but no. I got an oh I'm sorry and that was it. It was not worth $127 by any means. Oh and I forgot the elevators where broken so we had to use the stairs no big deal but the hallway smelled like weed and old flood damage.
This hotel should close temporarily for much needed repairs to rooms and elevator. Don't stop @ this hotel until management completes all needed repairs to electrical sockets in rooms, elevator that works, repair to water faucet handles, and maid service provided during stay.
We were happy to travel to Tyler for a visit with our Aunt who we hadn't seen and were anxious to see as restrictions lessened. This Best Western was pretty clean, the staff was kind and attentive, and we loved that the windows opened as we needed them to, the room was adequete for resting and recouping at the end of each day there. Fairly quiet as well. It can use a little sprucing but definitely felt safe (clean quiet etc) each night to rest our heads there. We would stay there again.
We were passing though and had an emergency and needed a hotel. There was a high school tournament going on. The employees made sure we had a room for as long as needed. We had to change rooms a few times but they made sure we had a room and the price didn't change either. I would recommend Best Western Southpark every time. The added benefit is there are tons of good places to eat in that area of Tyler.
I use to travel here a lot about 4 years ago. The location is great and it use to be very clean and well cared for. The bathroom had water damage on the ceiling and black mold, the chairs leather was falling off and the curtains were not even attached over most of the window. Had to call for hair dryer and then ironing board. I was really disappointed with it all honestly
Best Western Plus is a great hotel, they are very concern about there guest, everything was very good. The hot breakfast was nice as well. I did enjoy the cleanliness of the room and the front desk service was excellent.
We stayed at this hotel for one night. The staff was friendly Our room was clean but the entrance to the hotel needed to be cleaner also the hallways. The tub in our room would hold water while taking showers need to be rodded. There are food options within walking distance. The breakfast wasn't great. Stayed at la Quinta university area the next night little more money but worth it.
The room itself was perfect for my friends and myself, the size of the room gave us all the space we needed for a party of 3. The furniture was dated and worn and the room lighting was minimal. As women traveler it would have been ideal to have more lighting for makeup and dressing. There was a broken entry/exit door so walking distance to the next exit was a bummer and the hotel didn't seem to think it was important to locate and remove the guests who decided to have the entire first floor smell like a marijuana dispensary especially since all the rooms were non-smoking.
My stay at the Best Western this past weekend was very nice. Check in was quick, and check out was even quicker. They take proper Covid measures, even with breakfast, and are easily available to answer questions. The only issues I had was that there were a few small stains on my bed comforter. Everything else was nice for the price.
My wife and I checked into the hotel on a Sunday evening for a 3 night stay. We left Monday morning for the day. We returned Monday evening to find the room totally as we left it, including dirty towels, trash in the trash cans, and unmade beds. I spoke to the desk clerk about why the room had not been cleaned. I was told it was because I had not displayed the “please clean room” sign on the door when I left for the day. While never having ever heard of such a practice, I accepted her explanation and made sure I displayed the appropriate sign when I left the room Tuesday morning. Upon returning Wednesday evening we once again found the room in exactly the same condition, except now including Tuesday's trash also. I requested the room be cleaned, and of course the housekeeping crew had left for the day. I was offered another “smoking” room which I rejected. The hotel manager was not available. I was told I could speak with the manager when he/she returned at 7:00 the next morning. I went to the front desk about 7:30 the next morning to speak with the manager, only to be told that he/she has taken the day off and would be back tomorrow. In the mean time I had contacted the corporate office by phone. They listened to my complaint and offered to refund my money for the one night and to sign me up for the Best Western Rewards program and points toward another stay. I declined the Rewards and points offer. I'm fairly certain I will never stay at any BW hotel again.
Maybe coming down during the horrible TX storm was just bad timing but after finding out that surrounding hotels still had power, water, internet & cleaned entryways so guests wouldn't have to walk on ice & snow. It's obvious they were either unable or unwilling to find solutions to accommodate guests. Also it was interesting paying full price for a room with no water and hazardous conditions. I do not recommend. There are better hotels walking distance in the area. You deserve better.
Every time we go to Tyler ,Texas we stay at this Best Western. It has always been clean and the staff has been friendly. The Hotel is close to a pharmacy, fast food places and dine in restaurants. We go to Tyler every 6 to 8 weeks will stay here every time.
Excellent housekeeping services! Didn't see staff much outside of housekeeping. Noisy location. Uncomfortable bed. Spacious room. Decent price for the holiday week. Hotel needs updated with some of their items, like the luggage carriers, etc.
This is a nice location in Tyler. We have stayed here before a few years ago. This time it was loud and the rooms did not seem clean at all. The AC would not cool as we wanted. The person at the front desk was about 1/2 helpful. Not rude necessarily, just did not seem to care if we were there or not. It was worth the rate we got but I am not sure I will give it a 3rd chance.
The whole hotel felt very old, maybe even eerie..the room was so musty inside it made me feel nauseous. We bought air fresheners but they didn't help much. This place had great reviews, but definitely didn't live up to them. Pictures make the hotel look great but they are deceiving.
After camping for a week in the heat, stopping at a Best Western was a great decision. Allways a great stay, great service, great rooms, and great price! Even though the pool was closed due to COVID and I was looking forward to a dip in the pool, I still enjoyed my stay as always. I always choose Best Western!
We had booked reservations at another hotel but it didn't suit. We called Best Western and they were great. The young man at the front desk was Wonderful!! He let us look at the room before hand. It was just right. The pool, fitness room and business center were closed for safety. Breakfast was a sack meal. It was a nice work around. We will definitely be back.
This is a lovely hotel with very nice guest rooms. The breakfast area is well presented, clean and with many offerings. The guest rooms are comfortable and very clean with a microwave and a small refrigerator. These items are a must when I travel. Some rooms have a sitting area with an additional television. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked. A very nice hair dryer is provided for your use as well. The hotel is near shopping and many restaurants and/or fast food establishments.
Had to make a trip that I did not want to make. They checked me in and out quickly and left me alone. The price was right too. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice young man at check in. Express check out.
I chose this hotel because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. They were spot on. I was staying 5 days for business in the area and didn't want to break the bank while doing so. Yet, I didn't want to stay in a run down nasty place. Hey folks, This is the a great option. The price is right and the hotel is great. It is in an excellent location, clean, nice size rooms and the service was great. The location is right off Broadway near many different Restaurants. Also it is located within a few minutes of the Colleges and University. To me it was the perfect balance. The price was under $70 a night for a King bed. The breakfast area was nice with many selections. It wasn't over crowded like some hotels I have been too. The breakfast starts at 6 AM making easy to get breakfast and on to a meeting or work before 8 AM. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is clean. Cleaning staff took care of business each day no problem. I liked the bed and got a good night sleep. The WIFI was very good and allowed me to do my business work with no problems. The TV had a great picture even though I did not have much time to watch it. I had no problems at the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel and will stay here again when I have to return for business.
I always have such a wonderful experience when I stay at this hotel. The staff is always really nice and helpful. The hotel itself is very nice, inviting, and comforting. It is also conveniently located next to several restaurants and stores. Always a wonderful place to stay while in Tyler!
Very friendly staff. Room clean and spacious. Bathroom clean. Everything in room works Internet works very well. Breakfast very good. Close to many restaurants and shopping walking distance. The only thing because it didn't give 5. I crazy when I pay in cash and they ask me for a deposit. You have my credit card number(and work), in case the any damage. I know it's hotel policy, but it is impolite
The queen size bed was very comfortable! I don't think I moved all night. I slept very well and that doesn't always happen at hotels. I had an unpleasant stay at another hotel recently and will endeavour to stay at BW when possible in the future!
Our hotel room was clean and spacious as a double-queen room with a couple of sitting chairs and a small table and a large desk with a desk chair. We never had any trouble with the Internet. Breakfast had plenty of good food selections. Any food running low was quickly filled up again. The exercise room has a nice weight machine set where you can choose the weights you want to use by moving the pin. You can circuit between working out your arms and legs at more than 1 station on the same machine. I also liked the bicycle machine. The TV in the exercise room worked well. All staff were friendly, smiling, and helpful. The price was excellent.
Clean and spacious room. Parking is an easy walk to the front door. Convenient to south side shopping and restaurants. Front desk staff were happy and quick. Breakfast had plenty of choices. It's my go-to in Tyler.
Stayed for two nights with family. Nice clean room and bathroom. ,comfortable bed. Breakfast was good and plenty items. Location is super. Walgreens right next to the hotel across the road and family friendly restaurants within a mile.. UT Tyler is like 7-8 min drive and this hotel is perfect to stay.
Tyler,TX is a great place but definitely short on 4-Star Hotels. In fact, this Best Western in the only one! After a two-night stay, my experience here rates at 1.5 -2.0 stars and was a terrible disappointment. Let me point out the negatives first then to be fair, some of the positives. First - the bed in my room (219) was the most uncomfortable, spring loaded bed I've ever slept in during all my hotel stays anywhere! It was miserable...... Upon entering the room the first thing I noticed was the leather recliner in the corner. It looks like it was purchased from a garage sale with excessive wear, especially where you'd rest your head. The ceiling had noticeable stains, which simply made the room look low class. While brushing my teeth the sink wouldn't drain. While showering the tub drained so slow that I was standing in ankle deep water. By far the bed was the worst! I could have tolerated the rest had I been able to get a good nights sleep. The positives - the hotel is located near many conveniences. The hotel itself appears clean and the lobby was nice. The carpet going down the hall is wrinkled and worn (not a positive) but looks clean. The staff was nice and internet service was fast and reliable. Bottom line though - if you're looking for a 4-Star hotel, this isn't it. Keep looking! I have pictures of the room but don't see an option to post them ......
This hotel looks nice on the outside. However, the hotel simply smells! The carpet is dirty, the lobby and room smelled, and there was even a big greasy spot on the desk chair where someone had obviously smeared their greasy hair. The room was also very narrow, so the dirty desk chair was very, very close to the end of the bed. It was so bad we couldn't stay there.
The good: Easy check-in and great staff. Quiet room. Great location. The bad: Furniture in the room very worn (see attached photos), the bed was so hard and uncomfortable, broken outlet covers and one of the outlets that I had my laptop plugged into had a lamp plugged in as well. When I unplugged my laptop, the lamp flickered. The hotel needs to update and replace some things for sure. Maybe it was just this one room, because I read so many positive reviews from other people. None-the-less, we won't go back to that hotel again.
We arrived and discovered a smoking room had mistakenly been reserved. When I explained we couldn't use it, we were upgraded to a king suite. Lovely room. Bre as breakfast buffet was the best of the 4 properties we stayed in on our recent trip. Had eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, big cereal bar. Just super.
The check-in person was super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the super-comfortable bed. Nice and quiet. A reall good bang for your buck. We recommend it. The breakfast was ioutstanding and the coffee excellent. One of the few remaining hotels that has smoking rooms.
The hotel seemed to be designed to include all the little details that make a stay so easy & enjoyable--hook on the back of the bathroom door, big screen TV, pillows that support your head (not the usual horrible hotel pillows!), a second mirror, no automatic noisy fan that is connected to the light switch in the bathroom, generous supply of soap, lots of counter space in the bathroom & large nightstands, a recliner (!) and another comfy chair if you want to sit up to watch TV, etc., generous breakfast with lots of choices (including two dry cereals that were NOT sweetened), comfortable bed, & friendly staff.
Clean and quiet, seemed to be a safe neighborhood. The price was good but needs mattress and furniture replacement. I didn't eat breakfast so can't review it. The front desk has very pleasant, helpful staff. Thanks
If you are looking for a great value without breaking the bank, with the level of service in more costly facilities, large rooms and great service this is the place to stay in Tyler. Location is excellent to most of the attractions offered in Tyler. Plenty of parking.
We took a different route to our cruise and stayed in this hotel. Nice, clean and very helpful front desk. We asked about a place to eat and she was a world of information. She came up with several coupons and directions. She even gave us advice on what street not to take because we were going about the time the schools were out. Great stay, good rest. Very comfortable hotel.
Great location; near shopping and dining and easy to get to. Workers were all friendly and helpful. When we checked it, the main tv didn't work. They replaced it. Breakfast was varied and good. Coffee is available day and night.
Stayed one night. Room was clean and large with desk for work if required. Staff friendly. Many restaurants and fast food places within walking distance. Breakfast included with s lot of choice. Recommend this hotel.
My stay at The Best Western Tyler, has been a awesome experience. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and very friendly. The breakfast is made by a woman who is a prayer warrior ( Ms. Nelda). The food is excellent. The staff is amazing.
Located a bit off the Interstate, but very near to shopping, restaurants, etc. this property offers clean, large rooms, comfy beds, large bathroom with drains that work as designed (no clogs), large towels, WIFI that doesn't quit, ample breakfast seating, food variety of hot and cold items continually restocked with fresh and a staff that easily puts the "Best" in this Best Western. And there is also a guest self-serve laundry facility. in this property. Excellent value and worthy of the best compliment a guest can give: return business. I certainly intend to stay here again whenever in the area.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, quiet, and very conveniently located. Slept like a rock, and had ample space to work in the king size suite I stayed in. Lots of clean towels - which is always a peeve of mine when hotels undersupply these...
Came to visit my son in Tyler. Saw a good rate here. First impression of room was “oh how nice”.took shower at night and was certainly discouraged with the soap dispenser. Took at lest 5 pushes to get enough shampoo and twice as many to get enough soap. Ugh! Wife noticed carpet really dirty. Her feet were black! Gross! Bed was comfortable and tv was very nice.
Staff was great, room was great and the price was great as well. The rooms were clean, everything worked, the internet was great, loved the pillows. Pool was clean and area around nice. There were plenty of restaurants in walking distance along with shopping
My wife and I decided to go on a date and stay at a hotel for the night away from the house. I decided to make a reservation at this location and both my wife and I were pleased with the accommodations. The room was clean and fresh scented. The decor of the room created a relaxed and homely feel. Wifi worked good, My wife and I will definitely stay at this location again for date night in Tyler.
Check-in was quick and breakfast was good. Pool was busy and room was clean and roomy. I used reward points and like the fact the points do not expire. This location has been around awhile but is still looking good. Only problem was there was only one cart to load luggage and it was in use on arrival and could not find it on morning departure.
Not the fanciest but definitely comfortable and clean and the staff is helpful. Full breakfast, wireless, pool, and fitness center. Close to restaurants and shopping. We have been staying there when we visit family for six years.
Once again, as in 2 years before, as we live in Tyler TX, we had a home emergency - this time with a non-working air conditioner in July in Texas(!), we needed a place to stay; so, as we did before, we stayed at Best Western on Rieck Rd. in Tyler for several nights while our A/C was being repaired. As before, room was sparkling clean, free breakfast was a plus, very quiet inside the building. Personnel were ALL exceptionally professional and helpful, friendly and pleasant - front desk, food servers, housekeeping personnel = all are great. l hope not to have another home maintenance emergency, but, if so, we will be happy to stay at Best Western again!
This is my first time to stay at this BW in Tyler. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast (and the person in charge had a bubbly personality - I'm sorry I didn't catch your name!) Personable front desk attendants. Thank you for a great stay. I will definitely be using you again!
Overall very clean and well kept hotel and property - Room was comfortable and clean. Hotel is well positioned in Tyler. Just really not enough room to eat breakfast when hotel is booked but food was plentiful and will prepared.
Our, visit was totally bad. We had a oversized room. The sofa sleeper as completely covered with mold and smelled like vomit. It really looked and smelled awful. They only had one room to put partial of the guest in. The other 2 had to stay in part of that room until the next afternoon it was about 12 am or we would have move to a different Hotel. The General Manager finally showed up the next day, she only offer reward points for that mistake in the beginning and finally she let us have that room for a discounted price. When something that bad and unhealthy they should not offer anyone points. That offer was very insulting to me, we should have gotten it free that night. They needs to work on how they treat their guests in those situations. My family and I have been coming to this hotel for 5 to 6 times a year for over 13 years and have not had any problem. I have made good comments before on TripAdvisor for this same hotel several times. The front office states that they have a new owner. Everyone please check your sofa sleepers when you enter in your rooms. That mold had to have been there for a while as bad as it was.
This Best Western Plus is like a Marriott in its layout and design. Comfortable bed, desk, generous seating area, nice bathroom, etc. Large inviting dining area with full breakfast options. I had their omelet which was outright delicious! And their hash browns and fruit. Everything was fresh and tasty! They had the option of oatmeal, granola, cereal, yogurt, bagels, eggs, hash browns, sausage, fruit, muffins, waffles, etc. it has been a while since I've seen such a generous breakfast selection. And their dining room was light, bright and inviting. I felt like my friend and I were at a nice breakfast restaurant and not a hotel. After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, it's easy to start the day with cheer. The Staff was friendly and professional. Everything was done with excellence! I definitely will return! And I highly recommend this hotel!
This property is across the street from a small shopping and half a dozen places to eat. It is also a block away from a large grocery store. Large comfortable rooms and friendly and professional staff. The free breakfast was better than a lot of establishments I have stayed at.
I had a great experience and was my first time in Texas for my sons graduation. I found the services and personal attention I received to be exceptional. The next time I have the opportunity to visit I will seek out best Western again.
Pretty fancy best western in Tyler Texas... checking was a breeze... customer service was as expected, no complaints... room was very spacious and clean... it is next to a busy street, loud trucks and cars at times cause a nuisance... other than that, a decent stay...
I go to Canton First Monday trade days about twice a year with friends. We always stay in the Best Western Plus Southpark Inn & Suites even though it is about 30 miles away from the fair grounds. The hotel is extremely clean and has a great breakfast included in the price. I get the Senior discount which is very reasonable. I have found the prices in Canton to be much higher and the quality of the hotels not as good. It is worth the extra 30 mile drive to get a clean room in a and well-kept hotel.
Having stayed at this wonderful south Tyler hotel before, I had plenty of reason to come back. It's a well-built facility which has stood the test of time, and its location is very convenient to a number of fine restaurants and other amenities. The lady (and I wish I could remember her name) up front checked me in and out, and she did a marvelous job! My room was everything it needed to be. Shower had multiple jet settings, include the massage and the double spritz. Great stuff. I also liked the containers on the tile wall for the shampoo and body wash. All great to have. Bed was really nice and comfortable, and the TV worked to perfection. Good refrigerator and good move-around space to fit the dolly when loading and unloading. And I was able to get a good window view of the sunrises each morning. What's even more stunning is the incredible value I got for this great room. At most other places, it would be closer to $100, but thankfully, for this place, it was just around $70ish. Not too shabby. Please, Best Western, keep this property for many more years to come. You've got one of the finest in your company right here in south Tyler. This traveler will return as soon as I can. :)
Previous guest's pubic hairs still on edge of tub. Shampoo dispenser didn't work. Bed was miserable. Customer service intensive/incompetent. I requested 4 pillows to compensate for bed, but was denied.
Every room I've been in has had an issue. Things from refrigerators not working properly to drains not plugging when you try to take a bath. I think they need to hire about 2-3 maintenance people to get all the rooms up to par. Then the hotel would be valuable.
This hotel met all of our expectations for a Best western plus. Updated, clean, close to everything, great breakfast and well stocked. Great coffee. Friendly simple check in check out. two room king suite nice splurge to have the extra space.
We have stayed at this hotel for the convenience at first, but after staying the first time, we went back and will continue as long as my Dad is in the hospital . The staff are excellent and caring and we feel like family there. Thank you Best Western Tyler, Hannah, Heiley and Nelda!
Excellent experience at check-in, clerk was prompt, freindy. Room was great, clean, bed comfortable. Breakfast experience was excellent, hot hot foor was hot, cold food was cold, eating area very clean, and food was replenished promptly. Check out was quick and clerk very friendly.
Clean and quiet rooms, friendly, helpful staff. We will stay here again when we return to TYLER probably in April. The breakfast that is provided is fresh and offers a great variety of food that should satisfy everyone.
The inside was very out dated and filthy, Looks like it's never cleaned!! Carpet has crumbs and filth, all decor and lamps have a inch of dust, Elevator squealed loudly and concerned me, Bathroom had hairs all in it, dresser drawers had hair and food crumbs inside, tv remote didn't work and when asked for a new one i was given another broken one and they didn't do anything to fix it, doors was banged up and the room felt very unsafe!! I will never be staying here again!
The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a great location. If you are ever in Tyler, this is a great place to stay. The rooms are very comfy and cozy.
The hotel, although a bit older, is comfortable and quiet, and has a lot to offer for the price. I stayed in a family suite that has a separate bedroom, and three TVs in the room. The breakfast was tasty, and the employees were extra-helpful. The location is good, about halfway between downtown and a huge shopping and restaurant area.
We enjoyed the hotel very much. They had a pigeon problem at the entrance but I am sure that will be addressed soon. The room was large and had a 46" LED TV and a recliner. My wife loved the room. The breakfast was good except the gravy was old and inedible. We enjoyed our stay.
For the money this is a very nice motel. Have stayed here several times over the last few years and never had an issue. This time, however, we had a couple of very, very minor nits to pick. I don't know if it is penny pinching or a one-time thing. The roll-in shower had no seating available (we didn't need it, but it is usually there for those who do). Housekeeping didn't provide replacement soap or needed toilet tissue. I guess I may be picky, but they set the bar pretty high on previous visits. The whole facility is very nicely kept and the staff happy and helpful. Very well located near everything one might need. I recommend you try it.
Such a nice property to have to smell smoke when you walk in the door. Reminds you of the old ashtray that never gets emptied. You would expect this at a Motel 6 but not in a place this nice where you don't park in front of your room. Second hand smoke is offensive and unhealthy hopefully new management will stop this outdated and simply stupid policy. Best Western Plus should require smoke free, kind of defeats the purpose of the work out room.
This is a very nice hotel . The entire staff were great to deal with . The lady who does the breakfast was super nice & she sure makes a great breakfast too Thanks to everyone at Best Western South Park for a GREAT VISIT. See you again soon The Browns Dayton TX
very nice hotel and staff, breakfast better than most, rooms were fine and clean, staff was friendly at check in and out, lots of places to eat close by and gas stations as well. Andy's close by a plus
Check in was quick. Our double room was clean and beds were comfortable. It was nice to have 4 pillows to choose from. A/C worked as expected. My only issue was the clock with built in chargers was on the desk. I'd have liked it on the bedside table.
Beautiful Hotel !! Could not have asked for anything more as far as a comfortable room and bed. No road noise, third floor very quiet, breakfast very nice and last but not least the staff was friendly and very accommodating with questions asked about a place to have dinner that evening... Will stay there every chance we get. So nice to have a placed to stay that has it all. And all of this at a very reasonable price!!!!
We stayed here while my granddaughter participated in the East Texas State Fair. The hotel gave the participants a little discount on the rates, thank you Best Western! We had no complaints on our room. As the other reviewers said, perfect location if you're hungry, restaurants all around the hotel. And don't forget about the free breakfast.
I was traveling for work and got a good deal on this hotel through a 3rd party sight. Upon arrival I was happy to see it was in the middle of town, with plenty of restaurants in the area. It was located in the heart of town with plenty of shopping as well if you are in town for that. Parking at the hotel was easy and the staff was friendly. My room was clean and quiet which is always nice as well. The breakfast was standard hotel hot breakfast but it was hot and fresh. It is nice as well to see the breakfast area was kept clean and organized. Overall it is a mid range hotel in a smaller town. I would definitely not hesitate to stay here again if I am in town.
Just a quick overning here after the Gene Watson show at the Liberty. Have stayed here before and had no difficulty in selecting the BW for another stay. The rooms and amenities are all pretty standard. What raised this property above some of the rest is the attitude of the staff. Everyone we came across was smiling and genuinely happy. Everyone asked us about our stay and if there was anything they could do for us. Note, our TV didn't work either until I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Easypeasy. Will definitely repeat. Highly Recommended.
My husband and I were visiting 3 cities in Texas for business. This hotel was by far the worst yet the most expensive. Room smelled like musty mildew from air conditioning. After complaining 3 times to 3 different people, the only outcome I received was "here's a bottle of citrus air freshener to spray in room"! No discounts were even offered off my stay! We were not in the room but maybe a couple hours to sleep and we wouldn't have stayed that long If I didn't have to pay more money on yet another hotel. Finally when we returned to room late at night we go to watch TV & it has no picture just sound!! We were told to unplug and plug back in! Let me mention the other 2 hotels we stayed in did not have the musty mildew smell from the air conditioning...which is why I was told the room smelled because in Texas they have to leave units running all the time. Well the LaQuinta nor the Holiday inn express had that disgusting smell!! I will never return to a best western hotel again.
Everything from the time I walked in to check-in was great. I had no problems checking in. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was just right for my family. The price was reasonable. Since i have a child who attends school here, I will definitely be back and we have determined that this will be our place to stay.
Nice, clean quite hotel that offers smoking rooms. Room was clean & comfortable beds & pillows. Easy & friendly check in. Great location with Applebees, Olive Garden etc nearby. Have stayed here twice & will return next time in Tyler. Quick, easy Lyft service available. Thanks for making smokers feel welcome.
Very comfortable, clean and relaxing stay. The breakfast was very good and fresh food. I love the coffee and variety of food choices. The rooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. The location is great and convenient for shopping and easy access to main highways.
Very nice hotel in a great location. Helpful staff and large room. Overall we had a great stay in Tyler, Texas. They beds were comfortable, the fitness center was very nice. The breakfast had a lot of choices and what we had was very good.
We live locally and our A/C stopped working on a Sunday in late August, so, we made a reservation for a suite and one extra king bed room (3 family members). All employees that we encountered were pleasant and helpful, professional and accommodating. We were all pleased, as a family, with our experience and would definitely stay again! This trip was a necessity - not necessarily business or pleasure but a necessary place to stay that had working air conditioning!
This was my first stay here, and the good reviews were spot on. The guy that checked me in was very kind when I checked in and as I headed out on the town that night. The room was spacious and clean and had everything I needed. The pillows and towels were great. The bed was a little firmer than I like, but I don't expect a hotel to have mattresses that everyone loves because we all have different preferences. I did sleep fine and did not hear noise from outside the rooms. The lady (I believe her name was Kay) at the front desk when I checked out was also very kind and asked how my stay was...and I believe she genuinely cared. There are plenty of good restaurants and stores within walking or driving distance of this hotel. If I have an overnight stay in Tyler again, I will definitely stay here because the value for the price was great.
This hotel is in an excellent location near shops and restaurants. The front desk personnel was very friendly. The lobby is inviting and the room was spacious and comfortable. I had a king suite and was pleasantly surprised that there were 2 tv's there.
Stayed four nights here recently. Started out really nice, but right off the bat no tv reception. Kudos to hotel staff in getting us another tv. However two days into stay we came back after our room had been cleaned and there was a very strong smell of sewage. We found that the commode was not even attached to the floor. They had to give us another room, but we had to move everything. The hotel itself was very clean though, the cleanest we stayed at this entire trip. Their breakfast was also very good and A very well cleaned and stocked space. Besides the problem with the toilet, we came back one evening to find a dog confined next door with the owners missing. The dog barked and howled continuously until hotel management got into contact with them and made them return to take care of the dog. The only other issue was that I started to use the pool one day and couldn't because it was milky white cloudy. Thought I would be able to use it our last night, but came back to find them pumping the entire pool out. No joy! Overall though it was a nice visit. Special note of thanks to the hard working staff cleaning rooms. Did a great job.
Traveling with grandchildren and stopped for the night. This is a very clean property. The staff were nice and helpful. The area is safe and there are lots of places to eat close by. Will stay here again.
On the positive side, the staff was very friendly, and check in was smooth. Our room was spacious, and well laid out. Bed and pillows were quite comfy, and it was quiet. The room appeared clean, and was odor free. Plus marks for three bath towels, and enough soap to allow one for hand washing, and one each for showering. You'd be surprised at how many hotels provide only two bath towels and two soaps. The room had all the usual amenities, and two large TVs. Unfortunately, neither worked well. One would go off completely when you changed channels, and the other had volume that would only go to certain point. And no menu to see what scheduled programs. WiFi was slow. Electric outlets were not conveniently placed. Breakfast was sub par for a BW. Egg “patties”, sausage microwaved, so much for a hot breakfast. No daily newspaper, and the coffee table in the lobby was covered in dust. I would say this Best Western is not a “Plus.”
decent price, good place, no worries. this location was convenient and there were places to eat around there. it was sort of a no brainer for the average traveler. I would stay at this location again.
This is a new BW Plus in Tyler. Great shape and everyone was very friendly. Walking distance to several restaurants and other general shopping. Would definitely recommend when in Tyler. Room rate was good for a Plus.
Wife and I stayed here for two nights while visiting Tyler on a rose buying trip. Everything about the place exceeded our expectations for the typical mid level property. The staff was great, the room was extraordinarily clean and well appointed, breakfast was above average and the location was perfect. What's not to love. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit. Recommended
This hotel is close enough to the busy S, Broadway but located far enough from it to be very quiet. There is ample parking. The front desk personnel are very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was clean as was the room. Plenty of hot water. Wi-fi was good and easy to log on to. The bed was firm but comfortable. The TV worked well and there was a printed guide to channels in the room. A/C was quiet which made sleeping easy. Breakfast was pretty much the standard breakfast. Make your own waffles, eggs, two kinds of sausages, juice, rolls, biscuits & gravy, etc. Upon request, they did make a pot of decaf coffee for us which was nice. Upon leaving, the front desk gave us a map to help get us to the azalea trails which was one of the reasons for the trip. This was a first time stay at this particular hotel and a good choice for us.
We were traveling to San Antonio and need an over night in Tyler. The lobby is very nice and the front desk attendants were friendly and helpful with questions. We had a room with a king size bed. It was very clean and comfortable. If we pass through again we will certainly stay at the Best Western Plus Southpark Inn.
As always Best Western Plus South park in Tyler has done a great job taking care of our family needs on our spring break stay. Keep up the good work, everyone was nice and friendly from the Owner to the maintenance staff. We are looking forward to visit in July for our family reunion.
We always stay in Tyler when we go to the flea market in Canton Tx.. This was the first time to stay at the Best Western there, the price was right and the location is perfect, from now on whenever we stay in Tyler this will be our first choice.
This hotel is impressive! The staff is great! The breakfast is delicious! It's convenient to many restaurants and shopping! The rooms are very clean! The lobby is decorated very well! I will only stay here when in Tyler, TX!
Super friendly and helpful staff! I stayed on the first floor just a few steps from the breakfast area, which could not have been more convenient. Excellent rooms for the price - clean, spacious and nicely decorated! Hot breakfast with a variety of choices was another bonus. I will definitely return!
The five stars are because evert single member of the the staff we encountered was top notch and the property is very well maintained. BUT they allow smoking on the first floor and it smells like a casino. Breakfast is also on the smoking floor. They moved us to the other end of the motel on the third floor. Either some pathetic addict was smoking in a non-smoking room or the HVAC circulated the fist floor fog to the third. If you don't mind smoke, this is a great property. Also, to be fair, I am very sensitive to cigarette smoke (not a belligerent former smoker)
Having family in Tyler, we go there a couple of times each year. Have tried several motels over the years and settled on this one. The price is very good for such a nice facility. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. Everything is well kept and functional. The rooms are fairly spacious, and the beds comfy. One selling point for me is the breakfast. There is a pretty good selection of the typical cereal and pastry items, as well as fresh fruit. What I choose, though, is the hot option. While not 5-star restaurant, it is very good and well prepared. Scrambled eggs, two types of sausage, toast, gravy. I always over do it.
Great stay - room was clean, bed was comfy (I like a mattress on the firm side), staff was courteous and helpful. Easy to find and to get to. Hot breakfast was pretty good. I would definitely stay here again.
I have always had a wonderful stay at this hotel because It is centrally located near several retail shops, restaurants, and malls in Tyler, Texas; and the hotel and staff provide excellent service and a full free breakfast. Other accommodations include easy communications via WiFi in rooms, and free computers in lobby.
This hotel was very clean, the hotel staff was very courteous, the continental breakfast was WONDERFUL!!!! and it was very quiet no matter the time of day. I will definitely continue to stay here each time I visit friends in the area. I traveled alone and felt very safe no matter the time I left or returned to the hotel. There were many things located within walking distance, so if you do not have to drive to get food or just to go to the store.
The people at Best Western have always been professional, courteous and helpful. I started using Best Western because of the "pet friendly" policies. Breakfast amenities always good and fresh. Good sound proof rooms. Good custodial staff
We changed from the Best Western, in Lindale to the Tyler location and I am glad we did. They took great care of us and made sure our stay was without hassle or problems. I would recommend to anyone staying in area.
I stayed at this hotel because I like inside rooms and my safety was a factor. I felt very safe here. The price was very reasonable. The location of this hotel was excellent because they were many restaurants and stores to shop at within 1/2 mile or not. It was convenient to get to and the traffic wasn't a problem.
We had a great stay at this location. Only problem we had was with the TV remote and the night manager just simply moved us to a better room with newer accessories. Fitness center and breakfast were great!
This was the best hotel stay with clean rooms, friendly & professional staff across the board - we had a slab leak at home and were displaced for a full week so needed a local place to stay while water was turned off at home. l cannot say enough positive about this hotel!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Tyler, Texas. The front desk staff were congenial and helpful. The room was very clean. The pool area was also very nice. We would definitely stay here again!!!!
I arrived at the Best Western in Tyler after 10:30pm on a Saturday night and parked behind the hotel because parking in the front was full. I was surprised to see that the back entry door was unlocked and open at this hour and the key entry was broken. I proceeded to my room #123 and immediately when opening the door a repugnant wave of air hit me. It smelled like mold, mildew and cigarette smoke. As I stood at the entrance, I actually began coughing and gagging due to the stench in the air. I immediately left the room and went to the lobby to report the issue. The front desk clerk Hannah appeared annoyed at my request for another room and defensive when I explained the issue and asked her to accompany me to the room to experience what I was trying to explain. She refused and would not refund my money when asked. I then asked for the corporate phone number and she wrote 1-800-BEST-WESTERN on a post-it note. I attempted to dial and realized that there were too many digits. I returned and explained that this was not a working number and she actually did not know what / who to call?? I finally found a BW business card in the pamphlets in the lobby and when I showed it to her and asked her if that was the number I should call she said "I don't know." Terrible customer-facing representative for the company. Needs to be better trained in all areas. My follow-up to corporate yielded no results as they indicated it was a smoking room and apparently without checking the actual room or odor, confirmed that was how it should be. I stay at hotels ~70-80 nights a year and this was the absolute worst stay ever. Any reputable hotel would have offered some sort of compensation and/or should have a policy in place to fix these issues quickly. I would highly recommend avoiding this location at all costs! Interestingly enough if you look in the reviews, on May 6, 2015 Melissa F, Manager at Best Western Plus Southpark Inn & Suites, responded to another review about the smell and says "Thank you for your response. I am so sorry that your experience at our property was less than satisfying. We do, unfortunately, have 5 smoking rooms on the first floor (with plans to do away with them in the near future) and when they are all rented, it tends to get a little smoky on the first floor. I'm so sorry it affected you in such a negative way." Over 2 years ago - FAILED PROMISE!
Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Room was clean and neat. Good water pressure for the shower. Modern facility with a great location, near the loop. Many dining options across the road for dinner. Breakfast was available in the morning.
Clean, modern, well-kept, pleasant and friendly staff, free Wi Fi, good breakfast with lots of nearby restaurants and name-brand stores of all kinds, well located with easy access to downtown Tyler and only about seven miles or so from Interstate 20.
Clean, nice pool and friendly staff. Nice location with Walgreens across the street as well as many shops and restaurants. Nice lobby and breakfast. I would stay there again. Good parking and in safe area
When we arrived at the BW Plus Southpark, the outdoor temperature was 105F at about 6PM. We had had a stressful drive from the Austin area on a multi-night trip. We needed some comfort. And comfort we got. While I was checking in, one of the regulars was also checking in. It became clear to me that this property really worked hard to maintain its reputation and customers. As the headline says, the room was clean and, considering the outdoor temperature, pleasantly cool. (I am not happy when I check into a room where the AC has been turned off - as if no customer will show up to keep a reservation.) The only downside was that the hotel was not able to grant our request for an accessible room. We request such because, as proved true in our room, many hotel bathtubs are slip-and-fall traps. We have reached the age where we really appreciate a sure footing while showering. The tub had no traction enhancement and no handholds. This is something the hotel industry should consider as the baby boomers age. But, definitely the property is recommended.
We tried one other hotel in Tyler and it was nice, but BW Southpark won our loyalty. The staff is friendly and courteous. The room clean and comfortable. This will be our "go-to" hotel in Tyler from now on.
Had a great time at the hotel. Main reason for this hotel was for outdoor swimming. Most hotels now have indoor pools. Although there were no umbrellas or shade...it rained all day but in the evening it stopped. Since the pool was open 24/7 it was perfect for all of my grandchildren to swim late at night to wake up to a wonderful and pleasant breakfast. No pool towels.... Fold out couch did not have sheets or pillows, blanket... Front desk had them.
I had allergic reaction during my stay. Not sure if it was from hotel or otherwise. The staff showed genuine care and even got me another room. Used recommended Urgent care center and was very pleased. Rooms and hotel were clean. My only complaint was the internet service was very undependable.
Great food, service and amenities at the hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and more than enough choices and quality food at the breakfast bar. We will definitely be back and try other Best Westerns as we travel.
My go-to hotel when traveling. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms. Breakfast offers decent options both hot and cold. Quality is good, not great. Internet service is fast and easy to login. Only complaint is cable TV service which is very slow and doesn't have many options.
Great hotel located near shopping and restaurants. Chris at the front desk was awesome. The rooms are roomy and very comfortable especially after a long day on the road. The breakfast room was well stocked and very clean.
We were attending a conference nearby and stayed at the Best Western for the first time. We found the facility to be very clean and staff very courteous. Breakfast added to the value. We also liked the part of town the hotel was in. We will definitely stay again. Our only issue was getting the room cool enough at night.
I have been going to this hotel for over 11 years now. The hotel is always clean and the staff is very professional and caring. They have a nice breakfast room and the staff serves you with a smile. If you want to stay at a very nice, comfortable, and affordable place to me, in Tyler Texas Best Western on Rieck road is the BEST. The staff from the owner to the maintenance person is always smiling and saying hello. The location is the best also. It is close to malls, restaurants, movies theaters, and a lot of entertainment places most in walking distances. My family and I always look forward to visiting.
My wife and I have been staying with our daughter and son in law in Lufkin and needed some time to our selves. Our daughter and son in law said Tyler would be a great place to go and has a lot of sights to see.
I often visit Tyler, TX for Rug Hooking events at A Nimble Thimble. I originally stayed at another chain nearby but was not pleased with the rooms. This was the second hotel that I tried and I've been choosing to stay at this Best Western every since. The beds and pillows are wonderful. The free breakfast is very good and the employees are great.
Stayed here while in town to visit family. We've stayed here before, so knew it was good for this trip. Should have gotten her name, but the lady who checked us in was very cheerful and accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure we got a choice of room which would please us. The room was very nice, as expected. Had one small glitch. Upon awakening after the first night my wife pointed out that her side of the bed was sort of sagging. We were already late for our visit, so I decided we'd deal with it that evening. When we returned and inspected the bed it was just fine. Apparently a slat or something must have slipped, but was noticed and remedied by the housekeeping staff. We both slept well for our second night. One incentive for choosing this motel was the warm breakfast. Sausage and eggs, biscuits and gravy, as well as the standard waffle maker and cereals, muffins, bagels and the like. Not gourmet, but very good and the area is very well kept. Good place to stay in Tyler.
I LOVE this BEST WESTERN ! I have staid here before and was looking forward to this stay. It is exceptionally clean, very nicely decorated and I loved the recliner in my room. The staff are so friendly you would swear they were relatives. The good kind ! I loved that there are so many restaurants within walking distance too.
One of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed in!!!!! Everything about this hotel is way above wonderful. It is evident that the owner (who I met) is concerned about maintaining a high standard of excellence in all aspects of his hotel. Across the street, are many popular restaurants, including Olive Garden and Golden Corral. You won't be disappointed picking this Best Western to stay in, whether for an overnighter or extended stay. The room was clean, the shower great, beds were comfortable, the breakfast area beautiful and clean with great food choices, including a TEXAS-shaped waffle maker. I can't say enough positive things about this hotel.
Our stay at Best Western was very enjoyable. Great customer service and room was comfortable and clean. We will be staying at Best Western at our next out-of-town trip. Planning for another trip soon.
Hotel was very nice and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel staff is very nice and greeted you with a smile. I give this hotel a 10!! Even the cleaning staff greeted you with a smile. Everyone was very polite.
The hotel was very nice, and clean, but upon check-in which was very late and we were very tired, for a business trip, the receptionist computer went down, we could not complete the check in process, we had 3 rooms, and the host could not run the keys so we could go ahead and take the luggage up to the rooms while waiting on the computer to reboot and restart... finally after about a 20 minute wait we were able to get room keys. Then upon entering the room, and using the bathroom, the toilet would not flush and overflowed into the bathroom. we were moved to another room, but the room change did not have 2 beds, only one king, so the other guest and i had to share the bed.
I always enjoy staying here when I come to Tyler. Great rates, very nice staff and never any problems. The motel is convenient to everything in Tyler including restaurants and retail stores. Won't stay at anyplace else.
Great hotel, friendly staff and comfortable rooms and amenities. It is our favorite place to stay while visiting family in the Tyler area. The pool is clean, breakfast well stocked with full carafes of coffee and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
I enjoyed my stay at this Hotel in Tyler Texas. All of the staff were very nice, helpful and professional. All areas of the Hotel and room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choices. Fitness center was excellent. Parking area was well lighted and safe. Shopping, gas and good restaurants close and easy to get to without lots of traffic. Only one thing I would change is the queen size bed mattress. It was a little too hard for me. I would like the mattress to more softer and thicker for the body curves.
A few problems but overall great place to stay and a friendly staff. Great breakfast. Easy checkin and checkout. Nonsmoking room had a musty smell to it and a empty candy wrapper under the chair, First night there were a little problem but the staff handled it. I didn't report to candy wrapper or the musty smell, I just took care of it myself because these were minimal problems.
Hotel was great!!! Employee during check in and out went out of her way to have conversation and make sure your stay was the best she could do. I even talked to her prior to booking the room and she was helpful and friendly. The pool was open late which was nice for softball girls to have a little fun after hard fought games. Breakfast was delicious and had many different options .... would definitely stay again if in the area.
This was our first time in Tyler. We chose to stay at this hotel because of all the good reviews. The hotel is at a good location. Many good places to eat nearby and a lovely family run movie theater within walking distance. The suite we stayed in was a nice size for the money and VERY clean! The bed and pillows were comfortable. I didn't wake up with a back ache, which frequently happens during a hotel stay. We ate breakfast there one day. It was a typical hotel breakfast with several nice choices. The dining room was very nice. Every staff member that we encountered was friendly! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The only down side to our stay was to many traffic lights and to much traffic. But, we have that in our own town too. If you are looking for a little adventure during your stay, try Adrenaline Rush Zip-lining. Really great folks out there!
We always stay here when we come to Tyler. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and the hotel is close to amenities. Good selection at breakfast. We have always been very comfortable there
This is a nice convenient hotel I recommend it to anyone. It has a nice pool and lounge and dining room. It is located in a major byway for travel. MY idea is that it was a good staff and facilities. It has a internet and good bed and breakfasts in the morning. It is just right for business travelers and tourists. quick and fast service was in my stay. Lounging at the pool and fitness center was fun. Plenty of soft drink machines and ice machines. A good laundry room and decent restrooms where also in Hotel. I recommend this hotel for anybody on the road.
Had a pleasant experience at this BW. Staff was helpful, breakfast was warm, bed was comfortable, and everything was clean. For my first stay in Tyler, it was located close to good restaurants and most of the touristy sites. Internet was slow and would have liked free weights in the fitness center - but wasn't a big deal for me.
This was our first time to stay at this hotel. Check in was smooth. We were set up for the wrong room but the clerk quickly helped us get the room that best suited our needs. The room was clean and up to date. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast could use some help but over all we enjoyed our stay and will stay here again.
Great service, clean and not bad oddors, safe place, personal with great actitude, brakfast area clean, organized and choice of brekfast selection, easy to check out, no bulgary out side hotel, safe to walk to stores, rooms are very clean, all electronic device workink perfect
One night in Tyler (there's a song there, I think), not expecting much, but very pleasantly surprised by the quality of my stay and the professionalism of the staff. The room was spacious and well laid out, everything was as clean as could be, and the staff was very nice. Great breakfast with a lot of selection, convenient location with a lot of places to eat nearby. This is a place where you can tell the owners really care and want to make sure travellers have a pleasant experience. I find Best Westerns to be a mixed bag, this is one of their best.
There were small bugs crawling over the furniture. The front desk wasn't friendly at all. The staff that did that did the breakfast was extremely ice. She greeted everyone with a good morning. She talked to you and asked you how are you doing. So, if you were having a bad day her saying good morning made the difference.
This was a trip for us girls! The staff was fun and upbeat! The room was great and comfy after we spent the night dancing and having fun.... I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in Tyler!!!
We came into town for one night for a concert. The hotel was easy to get to- it was very clean and we could not have gotten a better price. The staff there was so helpful and answered all of our questions about the best way to get the concert venue. I am glad to know of this place in case I want to go to Tyler again!
Enjoyed our stay! Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to several restaurants. Comfortable bed. Quiet room. Stayed on third floor on front side of building opposite end of hall from elevator. Good breakfast!
I stay here every time I visit Tyler. Friendly and comfortable. My pup loves it here as well. Close to everything in Tyler. Easy to find and near some great restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend.
Hotel was clean and well maintained. Exterior presented a pleasant experience. Staff was very attentive, hotel was clean and everything in working order. Bathroom could use a little updating but was completely functional.
We have stayed at many hotels in Tyler - but this Best Western is just the best of the best. Super clean room - comfortable bed. Superb staff - they are glad to help in anyway. Soft, thick towels. Delicious breakfast with brewed Community Coffee on the line. Free USA Today.
We arrived in Tyler on the morning Greyhound bus from Dallas and it was about a $10.00 taxi ride from downtown. I chose the location because it was near where we had to be the next morning. Of course, we arrived early, and being on foot, we were wondering how to fill the time before check-in. Not to worry. The staff was friendly and most accomodating, calling housekeeping and immediately giving us a room just cleaned. Great service and a friendly welcome was much appreciated. The Shogun restaurant nearby was given a thumbs up, when we asked. Other features besides a large room with a comfortable recliner chair, were a good breakfast buffet and a small mall across the road with several restaurants. WiFi was a little weak. I had to stand by our door to the hall for better signal strength.
We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. Beds were above average for hotels and we liked the lack of bedspreads on the beds. Much cleaner than most hotels. The staff was helpful and gave us suggestions as to restaurants and shopping in the area. Will return to this location when we are in the area.
I worked the Tyler/Longview area over the past year and stayed at this hotel upon recommendation from the previous territory manager. I liked the location - there were plenty of dining selections nearby - and there was also a nice park about 2/10 of a mile away. The the lobby and rooms were very nice and a great vale. The rooms were large, with a desk and an easy chair. The staff was awesome. I felt like they had an eye out for me if I elected to take a bike ride or walk the trial. I had a favorite room, and they always made sure I got my room. Traveling for business can be a drag...this hotel and the staff made for a nice ending to my business day.
Very well kept hotel. We'd stay there again! It is close to many nice restaurants and also close to shopping. The decor is lovely and bed was very comfortable. It was very easy to find. We recommend it!
I had a very comfortable two night stay with a decent breakfast in the morning. Large clean room and great mattress. All of the employees gave outstanding customer service. I would stay here again in the future.
The hotel was wonderful! Front desk clerk was 80% of the reason....very personable and caring. The beds were comfy....spacious and quiet. I slept so well that I over slept my last night there! Overall....great
Property is very clean Beds are comfortable. Breakfast has a nice selection is fresh and hot. There are many different types of restaurants in the area to choose from. Staff is friendly knowledgeable and customer focused
we booked this room for the impending birth of a grandson!! All interior rooms , wonderful staff and no Riff raff in the parking lot etc. Absolutely 5 star stay in Tyler. The desk clerk even worked with us to get us a better rate than my normal discounts.
Great place to stay. Beautiful lobby and nice rooms. It appeared to be a recently built hotel. Staff was friendly. Centrally located. Restraunts and shopping very close. Will stay here again when we visit my daughter in Tyler
This was a short stay, I landed in Dallas and drove to Tyler late at night and left early the next morning. Hotel was clean, room was large, plenty of parking. Great location, close to food and shopping. Price was spot on. I would recommend this hotel.
The price was good for the room. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay at this location again. The breakfast was very good. They had many choices to choose from.
This is a great hotel if you are planning to visit Tyler. The staff is friendly. If you are a regular, they know and remember you. I'm there for business and like my "room". I get the same one every time. They know me and are just super. The breakfast is good: I make a biscuit sandwich and they have great coffee. The bed and room are very comfortable. There is a work area and a nice recliner. Comfy beds and pillows. I like this location. There is a park just .2 miles away and it's also within walking distance to a few restaurants. I'm on business. It's also a great location for my next day of work.
Love this hotel, immaculate rooms, Staff is always friendly. Breakfast is delicious and a wide variety to choose from. Small pets are allowed for a fee. Glad to see that they still allow for smoking. I won't stay anywhere else.
Very nice and friendly staff. We have stayed here many times when we go to Tyler. In fact, this is the only place we stay. Good price. Close to the mall and lots of other shopping, lots of good restaurants in the area. The breakfast is always fresh and good.
No need to shop around for a Hotel that offers everything a traveler needs when there is a Best Western around. For you get a great price, friendly service, clean lobby and rooms, everything you need in the rooms; large TV, refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, iron, soft pillows and comfortable beds and very clean. The FREE breakfast has a full assortment of food including bisquits and gravy, waffles, eggs, sausage and more. And friendly staff that makes you glad you came for a stay.
Very nicely redecorated and clean, breakfast was excellent. Rooms are warmly decorated with all new carpet and furnishings. Toilet was very loud. But would DEFINITELY stay here again. Located close to almost everything.
I,ve never had a bad experience at a Best Western , but this is the best I've stayed at . The appearance both inside & out was above average, and everything in the room functioned properly. Misty, who checked us in, was professional, courteous, and had a great sense of humor. I would certainly go there again when in Tyler.
We had 2 suites and they were nice. The lobby hallways and rooms were very well kept. The a/c was on and the rooms were comfortable upon arrival which means a lot to me. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. (And I'm sure we will)
This is my third stay at the Best Western Southpark In and Suites and I'm sure I'll be back. The staff is so Friendly, Helpful and Knowledgeable, and the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Our breakfast was absolutely delicious with SO MANY choices! Highly Recommend
The staf at this hotel was AMAZING, especially Misty. She was very sweet and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean. If you need a place to stay in this area, I highly recommend this Best Western Plus.
The room was very nice. Just not enough lighting. Also had a bad oder as you enter the room. We were very happy with the room and very comforterable. It was also very to get to from where ever we had to go to and from. Would recommded Best Western Hotel to others.
This hotel was recommended to me by the previous territory manager. It's a great hotel. Locally owned. Great staff. They know you when you walk in. Nice clean rooms with a good working space and a nice recliner to relax before retiring. Good breakfast. Great coffee. Convenient to my territory. Near shopping and eateries. Within walking distance of a nice park. Safe location - I park my car and walk to the park and to the shops or restaurants. I've never had a problem with anyone in the area. It's East Texas. They are just nice! Being a businesswoman, I really appreciate all the above.
Nice place to stay. Clean inside and out, well appointed rooms, comfy beds, quiet and a very good breakfast! This location is close to shopping, restaurants and the UT-Tyler campus. They have an elevator so you wont have to climb those stairs. Last, but not least, they have Misty at the front desk! She and the rest of the staff help make this a great place to stay.
Great place to stay. Clean, friendly staff, and all the amenities you could ask for at a great price. Centrally located with convenient access to restaurants, shopping, and everything else in Tyler. Highly recommend for a great night's sleep!
We have been on the road almost three weeks, and are heading home. We have been in eleven hotels during that time. We have paid from fifty dollars to just under $170. We paid $103 here, and this room is nicer than the room we had at the five star Sheraton Steamboat Springs. We have comfortable beds, two stuffed chairs to relax in, a desk and chair, and a spacious bath. Now to be fair, the room at the Sheraton was part of a block for a wedding, so I am sure it wasn't their best. My point is that neither price nor the name of the property always guarantee value. However, when we have selected well rated properties off TA, we have not been disappointed. This Best Western was great. So quiet, we all slept late!
The room is nice for the price. This location is near everything. Shopping, Restaurants and getting to the loop is convenient for transportation. The pool area is outside. The fitness center was adequate. The elevator is near the lobby, right around the corner. The breakfast is on par but I would say the breakfast area is a little small. One thing I really enjoyed as someone who spends a fair amount of time in hotels is the cleaning service. In 3 days and 2 nights not once did I see the service. In other words they do not have someone knocking on your door at 8:00 to see if you are still in the room! Awesome.
Hotel was very clean, nice pool, and wonderful breakfast. THe front desk was very courteous . Had to stay because of some work being done at my house. Would stay again if needed needed. . We left several items at home and the front desk were so nice to supply up with toothpaste and razors when we asked. close to shopping and restraunts.
Misty at the front desk is a treasure. She was very helpful to me when a family member needed emergency housing and I was half a state away. We were able to work out a satisfactory resolution by enlisting the help of a wonderful staff person at the Best Western in my town. Misty was courteous, patient and very helpful. It was a true gift to have someone assist me in this difficult situation. My family member is very satisfied with the room and service as well. Certainly it is employees like Misty that draw repeat customers. Customer service is a rare treat today.
This is my favorite hotel in Tyler. These are the things that make it my hotel of choice: close proximity to shopping (mall and boutiques) and restaurants, ease of access to main highways, great breakfast, CLEAN, free and convenient parking, 12:00 noon check-out, and it's soundproof enough that you don't hear hallway noise if you are trying to sleep in. The front desk staff is very friendly (big shout out to Melissa!), polite, knowledgeable, professional, and prompt with my requests. The rates are very reasonable, too.
Our room was clean and well appointed. The pool area was nice and clean as well. The free breakfast was plentiful and tasty, including Texas-shaped waffles. There was a small amount of street noise, but not a deal breaker. The location is convenient to shopping and restaurants.
This hotel may very well be the most impressive I've ever stayed in on many counts, but none as much as what I saw at the pool. I have never seen this before and im not sure i will again. They actually had a motorized lift chair for those with disabilities to help them sit down into the pool with everyone else. I got tears in my eyes as I thought about those who would normally not get to have that experience getting to enjoy the water and the blessed person who not only thought to give them that experience, but brought it to fruition. God bless them. I was lucky enough this morning to get the chance to meet the owner and thank Him personally for this experience. This hotel in the relatively small town of Tyler, TX has gone above and beyond, not only for their customers, but for their fellow man. Bravo!
We enjoyed our stay. I thought this was a new hotel based on information online, but when we arrived, realized we had stayed in this hotel 15 years ago, but it may have been another hotel brand, and it has been updated. Very nice staff, and a convenient location to all we were doing while there.
My stay in this hotel was great. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Hotel was clean. Room was much cheaper than other hotels I contemplated staying in and would say the stay was just as good as the other hotels I have stayed in.
My daughter, 3 grandsons ages 8, 6, & 4 and I stayed overnight here on a trip from MS to AZ. The grounds were immaculate as well as the lobby. The lady behind the desk was very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and very clean. The decor was an ornate type, but it was very tastefully done. The breakfast bar was plentiful in choices and the waffles shaped like Texas were so cool! The lady who checked us out was quick to credit the owners when I complimented her on the hotel, which I thought showed great loyalty. I would absolutely recommend staying there!
Really enjoyed our stay here. The price was only 94$ after military discount. The room was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. The staff downstairs were extremely nice and welcoming. One of the best hotel stays I have ever had! Thank you to the management for running a clean establishment.
I've stayed here many times. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Staff nice. I always stay here when in town on business. Breakfast is mediocre with same limited items as cheaper hotels. Internet speed is ok. Overall, I'm always satisfied with stay
could hardly see the hotel from the street but close to everything, secluded and quiet. Room was ideal for someone who is wanting to relax and enjoy the evening. Room size was larger than most. even had extra coffee and not just 2 bags
We have stayed here several times with no problems. This time was about the same, but the wifi was very weak. I notified the staff, but there was no improvement. I'm pretty sure that poor wifi will lose a few customers.
The room had a very musty smell which I think was coming from the carpeting. It might have been water damage on the rugs but it was not pleasant. We had people above us making noise when trying to sleep and our $65,000 BMW was covered with tree sap when we left. It was not a pleasant experience to say the least and it cost us $129 to get our car cleaned which should never have happened. They need to put up a sign near this tree warning people of the problem!
We stopped for the night, and we were tired from driving all day. We appreciated the cleanlineas here. The bed was clean and nice pillows. Clean bathroom. When we walked up to the door we were greeted in a friendly manner. I would recommend this place. We found nothing wrong. Breakfast was ok, typical motel breakfast. They had some hot items, round eggs, pretty cooked sausages, bisquits and sausage gravy with very little sausage in it.
I would recommend staying at the this hotel to my family and friends. I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms amenities for the price. The recliner is a very nice touch. The hotel is located on the south side of town. It was very easy to get onto the toll road and bypass the traffic trough town. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from close by to.
This Best Western was anywhere from $30-$50 less than comparable competitors. The room and bed were fine, the complimentary breakfast gave you several choices. It was also centrally located, just a couple of blocks south of the loop. I would stay here again, especially at the price we paid.
The staff was very professional and informative, they exhibited patience and were very courtesy. The breakfast food was hot and the coffee was just the thing needed at 6:30 in the morning. Next time I stay here, I plan on bringing the family too.
Pretty decent hotel in the middle of most of the shopping in Tyler. Lots of restaurants nearby. On a side street off the main boulevard. Plenty of free parking. Wifi was fast and stable. Had a large room with small refrigerator. Coin laundry machine on site. Staff cleaned nicely every day. Free breakfast in the morning and one cup coffee maker in the room.
Stayed 2 nights and everything was nice. Very friendly staff. Not thrilled about a 2nd floor room as I'm pretty sure I requested a top floor room, but the room was quiet (we always bring a fan for white noise effect) & the room was cold even on low cool (I like it cold). Breakfast was average. Would have liked a choice of fruits, only bananas offered (almost too ripe). A small variety of strawberries, melons, pineapple would have been nice. Had to tell staff there was no coffee each morning, but they were quick to provide a fresh container. We were told the hotel was full, so some added staff would have been nice to help during the breakfast hours so food/drinks wouldn't run low and tables would have been cleaned off (we had to clean off our table the 2nd morning).
We only stayed for one night but the highlight was the nice bed, we slept really well. The staff were very friendly also! Highly recommend! They had a great breakfast in the morning! Also a weight room, and a business room.
This is the nicest Best Western I've booked. The front lobby is nicely done, as well as the hallways. It's always clean. There is a laundry available for guests. The rooms are roomy and well decorated. The bed comfortable with plenty of pillows. A table for work as well as a recliner for relaxing. The staff is friendly and great with recommendations. It's within walking distance to Rose Rudman Park and several chain restaurants. Locally owned restaurants are available as well, but best reached via automobile. Even though the hotel is located near a busy intersection, I heard no traffic.
It may not look like a four star hotel from the outside but inside it does. Great hotel on the inside-lovely room - very nice and clean . We heard someone complaining at breakfast at the choice-we were pleased. Would absolutely stay here again!!!
This hotel surprised me! Everything is immaculately clean, not even a fingerprint anywhere. The linens were crisp, and the bathroom was very spacious. I felt at home. I couldn't be happier! Highly recommend! Definitely would choose this hotel again!
We have been very pleased with our stays at Best Western Plus Southpark Inn and Suites. The staff has always been courteous, friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable , the breakfast is a plus. It is convenient to many area attractions and the doctors we are there to see.
In most hotels where I stay they offer at least free water and in the better hotels they have free water, maybe by the glass. In all the hotels where I stay there's coffee made and you might have a cookie or another free snack. I also like to get creamer and Splenda for my first cup of coffee to make in my room to make the cheap "in-room" coffee taste better. In this hotel when I asked for water they pointed me to a machine. All coffee and creamer was locked up for the night. I can't remember a Best Western Plus I've stayed at that didn't offer at least water and usually coffee.
Lovely stay and a great big THANKYOU to Misty who made our stay easier with telling us things to do and see and how to drive to certain places in town. She made us feel right at home and we appreciate that and the cleanliness of this BW property. FAST -WI-FI ! Good shopping and well known restaurants nearby! Grounds of this property were very landscaped and gardens looked fresh.
very clean hotel , excellent breakfast, owner on site , free wifi ,and computers for guests down stairs in attractive lobby lots of restaurants across the road applebees, olive garden , outback streakhouse
This hotel has finally gotten the combo for a good night's sleep. Supportive mattress and soft cuddly pillows. (Not the rocks most hotels pass off for pillows.) Well done BW in Tyler! Dinner of any description is within walking distance. Let me recommend the Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar just down the grassy slope from the hotel. Great sushi. Sleep well.
For the rate, the rooms are large, clean, comfortable and very nicely decorated. My expectations were surpassed! The hotel staff were very friendly, and I enjoyed the variety of self-serve breakfast options that were freely available in the morning. The location was convenient to restaurants, the park, and the mall. The only downside was that this hotel was very noisy. You could hear traffic from the road and also other guests in the adjacent rooms and hallways.
Easily a 5 Star rating after our four night stay. What was not to like-large room and bathroom, two large leather arm chairs, great breakfast room offerings with liberal hours, and by far the best room pricing in the area.
It never fails every time I stay at this hotel my check in is great with no problems. Ms Melissa is always nice & smiling. She always asks if I need anything before I go to my room. If I get there early she usually lets me check in early if there`s a room.
Well maintained hotel, great staff and close to everything you need. I have stayed at this property before and will stay here again. This property lives up to the BW Plus reputation. I would stay here for business or pleasure.
I have been staying at this hotel for over ten years now, each time that I visit Tyler which is about 12 to 18 nights per years. As always this hotel the building is clean, the breakfast is great, and the staff is nice and kind. If you want a clean room, a comfortable bed, good breakfast, and nice and helpful staff this is the place to be.
The lady at the desk was very helpful. The room was nice, clean and very comfortable. The only thing I have to say is that although there was coffee and plenty of it. There was no sugar or creamer to put into the coffee. There was also no tea if you drank that instead of coffee. The price was great.
Unplanned stop in Tyler. Compared all hotels online and picked this one based on reviews and price range. Rolled in that night and the desk manager (Chris?) was very helpful. Upgraded us to a larger room to keep us away from the section of the hotel that still had smoking rooms. Never smelled smoke once while we were there. Very clean room. Solid Free WiFi service and well lighted free parking. Great shower and bed. Typical breakfast spread the next morning. All in all - hard to beat for the price paid. Would stay there again if needed.
Overall very nice and clean. Great beds and slept well. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! I have always had a great experience here and will stay again when I am in Tyler.
Staff are friendly and helpful and it always feels like I am coming home when I am there! I love the recliner and the room and bed are very comfortable. The amenities are good whether for business or family fun.
quiet and clean. Some housekeepers clean above and beyond others just make your bed. Wish there was more variety in breakfast option every morning. Tend to have the same menu options every morning. The entrance of the hotel sometimes tends to have an odd smell.
I have stayed at many hotels in Tyler, but none compare to my recent stay at Best Western. The rooms are spacious and clean, comfy beds, huge TV, blackout drapes that truly block all sunlight and the best free breakfast. For me, blackout curtains and good coffee are a must and this hotel has them both! All my future business trips to Tyler will include a stay at Best Western.
The Hotel is beautiful. We had a King Suite. Microwave, Mini Fridge, Coffee Maker, Sofa Sleeper. We were visiting Tyler on a family trip. Everything was clean and had no issues. Free standard breakfast included with your visit.
There's shopping, entertainment, restaurants, and a volleyball court If I wasn't working so hard I get to take it in. There's nothing worth watching on T.V. So take a walk get some frozen custard and hang out at the local sports bar. The people are nice. The mall is walking distance so is the movie theater. So Get Here If you Can.
Two of us got reasonable rate because we were in Tyler for a reunion of Veterans. The room was well appointed and clean and easy to locate driving from Ft Worth airport. An enjoyable breakfast with variety and open 3 hours. There is a gym and an outdoor pool. No restaurant but many nearby.
We visit our son in Tyler and like this Hotel and it's location. Great accommodating staff. The rooms are nice and appointed well. We will stay here again. The only thing in the minus side for us is breakfast only served till 9:30 AM so eating at 9 does have the best selections. All the rest is great.
Staff was very friendly. Rooms are clean and other areas are clean and nice. Room was large, bed was comfy, other than pillows, which were too soft. Breakfast was OKAY. Healthier options and variety would have been nice. Nice to have a hot breakfast every morning though.
We always use this motel when staying in Tyler. Great quality especially for the very reasonable price - clean and well maintained. They remember us and usually provide the special accommodations we request - handicapped room and early maid service. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
I drive for my job. I keep my vehicle clean, and like where I rest to be as well. The staff is always friendly, and pool looks great. I usually too tired and enjoying my room. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping, Mall, a movie theater etc, within walking distance.
My stay at this place was great it is a very clean facility, beds are comfortable and the pillows are super soft. Great customer service. I was in a hurry in the morning so I was not able to try the breakfast. I would most definitely come back and would recommend to family and friends.
My daughter and I were on our way to Canton First Monday, so instead of staying in Canton and paying outrageous hotel prices, we decided to stay at this Best Western because we had stayed there before. We shopped at the new mall in Tyler and some other places we have visited before. It was a great stay. The hotel was quiet and the bed very comfortable. We slept well and the hotel allowed me to leave my car there while we went to shop in Canton. Very nice people work here....will stay there again.
a very nice hotel, very comfortable bed, large rooms easy to find right off highway 69 near everything you need stores places to eat Andy's frozen custurd should be a must you will not be disappointed
Overall our stay was just okay. Entered the lobby and that sweat smell hits you right away. I am always skeptical of this. What are they hiding? Just clean the place. Room above average. Bed was comfortable. Thought the price of the room was a little over what the hotel had to offer.
My husband and I travel quite a bit. We have stayed in 5 stars hotels and we have stayed in not so luxury of dwellings for business. I would recommend this place. I was pleasantly surprise with the decor. Walking through the lobby the decorations and furnishings made the experience of staying there start in grand style from the beginning. It may sound silly but it matters on the ambiance. Once in the room, the look and feel carried on. I was on a business trip and had to use the hotel wifi. No problem...was logged on and working in no time. It was a bit slow but it worked. The room was large and comfortable in feel. My hubby worked, I worked and not all in one tight area. I do suggest they change up mattresses...it was hard and little comfort. But for business travel or pleasure...it was nice to be wooed by the atmosphere of the finer style they chose!
So far so good! Nice clean rooms! Front Desk Clerk Misty was joyful and very helpful! I come to Tyler often to visit my daughter I believe I've found my place to stay from now on! Thank you for my State Employee discount...not too many have that! TDCJ Officer..
I stayed here on a family trip to the area. My wife had booked the reservation in advance. When we arrived my wife went to the front desk with the other two couples in our party. In the process of checking in there was a ten dollar discrepancy in the rate for each room. My wife thought that she had received an email confirmation for a cheaper rate than we were being charged. However she couldn't find it and possibly could have been mistaken. Pam the front desk clerk was very impatient and non communicative. She seemed to be in a big hurry to get rid of us. We opened the door to our room and immediately noticed the overwhelming cigarette smoke in our non smoking room. So we went to the rooms of the other two couples in our party and compared their rooms and they came to our room and we all agreed that the room was unacceptable. So we went back to the front desk and Pam met us in the hallway. I stopped her and we told her that our room had a terrible cigarette odor. She gave us a really dirty look and without a word to us she whirled around and threw open the door to the front desk and started banging on the keys to the computer and slamming papers on the counter and still without a word stuck her hand out for the key cards and quickly reprogrammed them to another room and wrote the new room number on it and shoved them in my face and walked away. Still without a word of apology for the problem with the room. Having said all that, the room was an upgrade and was nice, clean and comfortable. And the breakfast was good. The ladies attending the breakfast were friendly and helpful. I don't know what Pam's problem was. Maybe she was working by herself or was mad because we interrupted the personal phone call she was involved in when we first arrived. Whatever the reason, there is no excuse for treating customers the way we were treated.
This hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and even though we got there a little late, the staff did not rush us out of the dining area. I do believe that a middle of the week stay could have been a little less expensive.
This was a pretty good value for the price. The hallway had a strong smoke odor in it and room had a different odor. That's just one of the things I look for in a hotel: 1. Cleanliness 2. Smells clean. The chair/recliner was comfortable unlike other hotels. I was able to relax and watch TV. Breakfast was ok. A good selections. The eggs was REALLY watery but didn't expect much from powdered eggs....
Overall stay was good! Handicapped room was very accommodating for handicapped family member. Check-in staff acted as if we woke her up or kept her from watching TV. She did not offer express check-out. The check-out staff was very friendly and cheerful!
Everything thing was great as always. The staff from the check-in to the housekeeping were nice and kind. The rooms, lobby and outside were very clean. They allow pets but you could not tell because there were no animal smells or any animal feces that could be seen. This is a great place to stay when you are away from home.
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was a nice size and clean and quiet. The staff at check-in and check-out were very helpful. The breakfast was good. It included scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy with sausage, sausage, cereal, waffles, yogurt, coffee, juice, milk and fruit.
Soft comfortable beds ,clean rooms, and super friendly staff. Exercise room and nice pool to be enjoyed in your spare time. Breakfast is Eggs ,biskits ,sausage ,toast ,koloches and whole buncha more to eat. Internet super easy to get on.
My best friend and I try to go to Canton Trade Days in October of each year and we have found the Best western Plus Southpark Inn & Suites to be our favorite hotel. Even though it is a 45 minute drive into Canton, we feel it is well worth the short trip to be able to spend the night in such an extremely clean and well run hotel. The staff has always been very helpful and professional and the rooms are spacious with comfy beds. The rooms are sparkling clean and the shower is great. Over the years of our Canton trips, we have stayed in various hotels nearer the trade grounds, but found the room prices much higher and less comfortable for the money. Tyler's Southpark Best Western has a nice breakfast, exercise room and outdoor pool. The lobby is welcoming upon arrival and gives an overall nice appearance as you check in. Canton or bust, but staying in Tyler is a must!
I read the reviews and thought, oh this will be great. I was not impressed. It has been updated, but that is about it. First, they do not offer hot coffee or tea except at breakfast, so if you need coffee and you happen to sleep past the breakfast hour, you will need to go next door to the convenience store. Of course, they have the coffee pot in the room, but I travel way too much to not have this convenience available. The first floor is smoking, and I should have checked that, my mistake. I am a non-smoker and you just can't hide that odor. The most concerning item was that the doors to the outside, back door and side door did not lock, you could pull them open. Even at night, so security is a big concern. I informed the front desk that they did not lock, and the response was "yes, we know, there is a work order". Well, you may want to manually lock those at night then...ijs The beds / pillows were comfy, but the AC was in need of a good cleaning, dirty & moldy. Needless to say, we will not be back as frequent business travelers, I need more out of a hotel. But if you are looking for place for overnight and don't mind the issues I mentioned, it'll be ok....the rooms are clean.
We booked for three nights over Labor Day weekend, with AAA rate, we paid $331.17 for a double queen room. The lady that worked each evening at the front desk was very nice and very helpful (give her a raise!). I was pleased with the room and the overall facilities. We used the swimming pool, which is outside. I used the weight machine in the exercise room. The two areas that we encountered a problem was with the maid service and the breakfast offering. The maid did not leave enough towels on any of our days (4 people, 3 towels?). Additionally, the maid was stingy with the shampoo – which I needed to use as I left my shampoo at home. The breakfast room is quite crowded. Additionally, each morning found items that were not available. TIP: Go down to breakfast when it opens if you want a choice of things to eat. Ultimately, I would probably seek a different hotel if I were staying in Tyler again. The maid and the breakfast was enough to turn me off to this facility.
I have always looked for a Best Western when I travel out of town. The Best Western Plus Southpark in Tyler, Texas met all my expectations. Friendly, courteous staff, exceptionally clean rooms, comfortable beds and the breakfast, as usual, was excellent. I recommend this hotel l00%.
I know I am always going to be greeted with concern for my needs. The room is large and comfy and the shower is GREAT! Whether catching up on work or on Facebook the internet is always on. Best of all the air conditioner works really well. Always enjoy the breakfast selection and the staff greets me like they know me. As a single woman I feel safe and like I'm getting a good deal for my hard earned pay.
