The place could be great but wasn't. The room and common areas badly needed cleaning and some style. Bathroom needed a total renovation. New beds would also be an asset. A very basic hotel with average breakfast

Solid hotel with clean rooms and daily breakfast. The bed was comfortable and my single room was mot too small. The breakfast was really good.

Arrived at hotel very early as our ship had arrived at local port at 9.45 - 15 minutes easy walk from port and really close to station. We left our baggage and started our day in Trondheim and checking in later. Lovely room with lots of space and comfy bed. Great breakfasts. Knowledgeable and friendly reception staff 24/7. Would return here happily.

Such an amazing secret of a hotel. Such a personal touch. All the staff was so kind and accommodating. Rooms were roomy and well stocked. Beautiful views and perfect location in the middle of the city. Trondheim is amazing!

On the positive side, the location is excellent. It is very central and within walking distance of everything we needed. The room was a decent size with windows that could be opened for fresh air. It was also convenient to have a kettle with a basic tea and coffee set provided. However, there were some issues. It would be great if the breakfast menu varied at least a little bit from day to day. We were also disappointed with the housekeeping, as the rooms remained dirty even after cleaning. Finally, it was very unpleasant that the fire alarm went off three times in a single day during our stay.

I really liked this one Caming from the trainstation on a very chilly evening the walk to the hotel was just 3 streets away. This was a thursday night so it was very calm and quiet. I liked the old style and breakfast was as expected

I have stayed at Bakeriet on different occations before and have always been extremely satisfied. Sadly, this stay did not tempt us to come back. The main reason for this, is the standard of the room. We had room 140, where a refurbishment was long overdue. The bathroom was not nearly as nice as several of the ones you see on the hotel's web site. There were cracks in multiple tiles on the wall. The sliding doors to the shower had apparently broken and had been replaced by atemporary shower curtain, which was impossible not to brush up against while showering. Cleaning in the shower was not satisfactory - there was dirt and mould in all cracks and corners. On top of all this, the flushing of the toilet was also acting up. The room was called a "family room" and had ample space for four. The concept is quite good: a separate bedroom with a bed for the parents and a bunk bed in the other room for the kids. However: The bunk bed seemed to have been placed in a room where other furniture had stood before. A lamp had been removed on the wall to make room for the bunk bed, but no-one had thought of painting that wall afterwards, so the trace of the old lamp was still on the wall. From the top bunk, you could see cobwebs and the lack of recent cleaning very clearly. The cabinet for the clothes was lacking one of two door handles, and one door did not open properly. Floors looked like someone had dragged a piano across it. There were only seats for 2 people even though it was a 4-person room. The breakfast is decent, and I like the concept of free waffles in the afternoon. However, given the cold weather, the breakfast restaurant was a cold experience. The gym seemed very fresh, though I did not have time to try it. I wish our room had been of the same standard. They offer parking in the basement, which is very convenient. However, if you have an electric car, there is a parking garage next-door that have chargers.

Stayed for 3 nights in a superior room which was lovely and spacious. Quick check in. Our room was fine, and bathroom was excellent with a lovely hot shower (no shower curtain) with glass doors. Breakfast had a wide choice of hot and col with plenty of choice of cereals and fresh breads which were still warm. Breakfast has been made available from 7am on weekends now due to popularity. Staff quick to keep food topped up and plates moved etc. Every night there is waffle making with tea/coffee and toppings all free. Location is good and walkable to everything you need and only 5 mins from train station. Your room is only serviced every 4 days but you can ask for fresh towels etc but this is becoming the norm in most hotels now . Displays round the hotel of past bakery links to the building and the ovens are in the eating area.

First time at this hotel, so very curios. We were met by very pleasant staff. Historic hotel. We got an upgraded room, which of course makes the experience way nicer 😁 superior double or was it a suite , it felt like a suite. Anyway, extremly good and spacious, Excellent beds, slept like a baby. Bathroom was stunning huge, with 2 separate bathroom sinks. Nice sitting area with couch and chair. Unfortunately the tv did not work, but I think that was due cable company error. We did not bother to fuss about that. Did not come for the tv. Just across the hotel there wad a very good pub/restaurant, dont remember the name, very cozy casual atmosphere. The hotel lobby had a nice lounge area, were we enjoyed a glass of wine. Good selection of wine. Breakfast was good and easy. Though due to very high upunder the glass roof, the breakfast area can be somewhat noisy. All in all a very satisfied stay. Will come again.

Great location in Trondheim. Nice family room with bunk beds. Wonderful breakfast. Helpful staff. Able to leave luggage before check in.

We returned to the Best Western for a second time, the staff are polite and helpful, but this time our room was on the ground floor next to the street. It was so noisy we had trouble sleeping at any time of the day or night. As the was no AC and being August you needed the window open. The breakfast is very nice.

Hotel is very centrally located with many of the citys attractions within easy walking distance. The Nidarosdomen cathedral is apx 10 mins walk. Nice room with a very good bed. Good breakfast buffet. They offer free norwegian waffles, tea and coffee every afternoon. Staff were nice and we felt very welcome.

beautifully decorated hotel, outstanding rooms. breakfast was exceptional, perhaps the best we had, lots to choose from. everything is nearby. excellent service in reception. we had a charming stay there, and could highly recommend the place.

The rooms are not in a good condition, it needs a renovation. The breakfast was the poorest we were served during our holiday trip. Some days the room was not cleand….. No one was interested if we enjoyed our stay. It could be a charming place to be but it is poorly managed.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and met our needs. Breakfast was great with quality of food offered. Overall a great 3 nights

The hotel does have potential to be very nice, with good location, but the rooms are horrible run down. Everything seems dirty. The rooms, the public areas. Buffet is very simple, restaurant without personal touch. Stay away, until something has changed.

Best hotell staff ever! They helped us with everything. Five star! That really made our stay in the hotell. Location is perfect, food is good and the rooms are good. Great value for the money! we will stay here again.

I liked a lot this hotel, near central Trondheim, on a small side street (not easy to get there). Had parking garage (payed). The room was good, breakfast was very good, although they announced it was between 8 and 11 (I think) everything was ready much earlier and we had a nice meal at around 7:30.

This humble hotel hidden in the centre of the Trondheim yet away from all the bustling of city life. The room we had was on the ground floor yet it was quiet. Although it was a bit dated (OMG, the room door was so heavy!!), it was clean and comfortable. We love both the evening meal (buffet, starts from 6pm) and the breakfast buffet (starts from 8am to 11am) they provided, small spread but healthy, with good emphasis on local produce and local food. The asparagus soup was sooo delicious! They also provide free afternoon tea (4pm to 6pm) where you can make your own waffles and enjoy a cup of good coffee/tea. The free wifi connection was good.

Very cozy hotel with large bright rooms in city centre. You can go sightseeing by foot to almost all city atractions. And the breakfast was the best! The additional costs for dog and parking are a litle too high. On the other hand you can park in the city centre, so it is a good choice also for travellers with car.

Attractive development of an old bakery into a fine city-centre hotel. Friendly personnel. Very good breakfast in an attractive covered courtyard setting. I would happily stay at Hotel Bakeriet again.

We stayed here for 2 nights as a group of 24 adults. We were supposed to be staying at the Clarion Collection opposite but this one has a lot of character being the original bakery from 1879. It is being refurbished but our room was fine, a little dark but everything provided and plenty of space. We had a very handy iron with mini- board (not in all rooms) which was very welcome as there is a Launderette just down the road. Very friendly Reception staff. Very small bar area which is served by the Receptionists. Good buffet dinner and breakfast. Close to the Railway station, the Bus station, and the waterfront, and shops. Opening windows but quite noisy as in the centre of the city.

central, but the room was very worn, with broken tiles in the bathroom. Soap dispenser in shower was broken as well, without any tries to fix it. The hotel has a great potential, being cozy and all, but it desperately needs renovation!

Checked into this beautifully hotel 10min walk from central Station in Trondheim. So convenient when traveling with suitcases. Reception staff were very welcoming and could not do enough for us, once checked in we were shown to our room, (Recently refitted). Our room was perfect size for us both, the bathroom has brand new. power shower was to die for. especially in this glorious hot weather. Breakfast was extremely well presented with friendly staff on hand to advise and assist any customers. Mid afternoon waffles were a welcomed taster, especially as we were able to make them ourselves, other family with children really did take pleasure in this afternoon feast. The evening buffet was perfect, with hot and cold "Scandinavian choice" all to a high quality, and extremely fresh too, we loved this buffet, especially in the hot weather it was a great choice. Location just out side the main train station and close to all the amenities, for those wishing different cusine there is an abundant choice of Resturants within the immediate area of Trondheim. Plenty for all the family to do from boat trips, harbour walks. shopping the list just goes on. A fantastic Break made perfect by the Hotel and its carling staff. The location of this hotel is excellent; the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean and pleasant. The afternoon "snack" serves easily as a light dinner, the afternoon waffles were a nice touch, and the breakfast was was generous. If I am ever lucky enough to return to Trondheim, I'll stay here again.

The check in at the hotel didn't went very smooth, but maybe it was a new person. She made some mistakes, about the name, room,... Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay here. They even offer an evening buffet (included in the price when we booked). The breakfast buffet tasted better than the evening buffet, but maybe that's just me ;-)

This was amazing. Included breakfast buffet, waffles in the afternoon and another dinner/supper buffet in the evening. The food was great and the staff was helpful. Room was clean and temperature was comfortable. Would definitely visit again.

The hotel is situated only a few minutes walk from the train and buss station. Was met by a friendly receptionist. The room was a bit worn down with carpet floors. I heard that they are renovating the rooms, so it would be wise to ask for one of those rooms. Nice breakfast, afternoon waffles and hot evening meal for free. Its location is great if you would like to explore the city.

We walked from the Hurtigruten ferry to the hotel, and it was easily found. We dropped off our bags for the day and went sightseeing. We returned in the afternoon to check in and fix some waffles for our snack. Then, a delicious port stew for dinner! What a treat! Breakfast was very good also. The building, converted from a bakery, has great ambiance and style. In addition to being relatively convenient to the sights along the river and around town, the hotel was only a couple of blocks from our Avis car pickup. It was all good from the beginning to the end!

Really like the cosy atmosphere here. It's a old bakery that's been rebuilt into a hotel. They were doing work at the hotel while we stayed, but never heard any noise. They always have waffles in the reception area! Nom!

Hotel is older but very comfortable. Our two-night stay was quiet and restful. The building once was the site of a large bakery. The atrium where breakfast and dinner buffets are served is bright and airy. The food was very good and plentiful. Excellent hotel staff. Trondheim is easy to walk to most sites. This hotel is only a short walk to the train station for connections to the airport.

Pros: dinner served after 6 pm (cod grateng, pasta, melons, etc.) every day. Ok breakfast. Good coffe and tea 24-7. You save at least 200 nok per day eating in. Good rooms, especially the refurbished ones, with new bathroom. 7 lamps in the room plus lights in bathroom, plenty of personal touch. I liked the athmosphere of the old building with modern interior. Nice receptionists, always smiling. Very good location in trondheim. All kinds of restaurants and bars in vicinity. And sooo many tv channels. Mostly in english. Good beds. Cons: the fitness room is in the cellar. No direct sunlight into rooms. A bit noisy if drunk neighbours. Very busy for breakfast.dated carpet. Low quality toilet paper.

Ok, the hotel is in a nice location, great front desk staff, good sumptuous breakfast. Plus afternoon cake and evening dinner. However, the carpets need renovation. The towels are old. All said, good value for money

We have used this hotel a lot. This time in connection with an anniversary party. The hotel may not have the nicest rooms in Trondheim. The hotel is located in the center of town close to everything. Has its own parking garage which is an absolute plus especially considering the location. Here they do not have a traditional dinner restaurant, but evening meals with a hot dish or two. Early in the afternoon you can make Norwegian waffles something that is very popular. Nice people and nice prices are usually an unbeatable combination. Highly recommended. Hotellet har kanskje ikke de fineste rommene Trondheim har å by på, men du skal lete lenge etter et triveligere hotell i Trondheim. Hotellet ligger i sentrum av byen med nærhet til alt. Har egen parkeringsgarasje som er et absolutt pluss spesielt med tanke på beliggenheten. Her har de ikke tradisjonell middagsrestaurant, men kveldsmat med en varmrett eller to. Tidlig om ettermiddagen kan man få laget seg norske vafler noe som er svært populært. Vi stortrives på hotellet. Hyggelige mennesker og hyggelige priser er som regel en uslåelig kombinasjon. Anbefales på det varmeste.

This truly feels like home! You have everything you need. Great clean spacious rooms. Food available when you need it. Friendly personnel. Reasonable price. All hotels should have this kind of offer and service! Highly recommended :-))

This used to be our favourite hotel in Trondheim (Formerly Clarion Collection Hotel Bakeriet).This is still a nice hotel but unfortunately it has lost the unique sauna offer that made this hotel unique and special. Its bad that the new hotel chain descided not to offer sauna to its guests. The hotel used to be special, but I guess cheaper hotels in town now will take guest from "Bakeriet". I still like the hotel, but it does not offer that little extra value for money that it used to.

A pretty small and charming hotel with a rich history. We loved the touch and feel of the hotel lobby and the eating area where you could see much of the old building integrated with the new structure. However the room was quite disappointed. It looked pretty old and the carpet looked pretty old and dusty. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the pillow were pretty flat. There were no basic amenities in the room or the toilet. No kettle or cup. But food and hot drink were served at most time at the lobby area.

Visiting Trondheim, I needed a central location with Car parking. This hotel has a great solution, not only Breakfast, but also afternoon snacks & evening food. They have a under ground car park for hotel guests, joined to the hotel. Good hotel, staff & location.

We had a good room under the roof facing the fjord from which we enjoyed the Northern light. The breakfast is very complete and wholesome.At day you are free to take coffee or tea and sometimes waffles can be baked.The meal in the evening is light but warm and good and varies by day.

Charming, small hotel at a central, but tranquil location. Walking distance to the entire downtown area and close to the pier, railroad station, buses to the airport etc. Service is great, beds are comfy (although our pillows were a little lumpy), both breakfast, afternoon waffles and evening buffet (all included in the rate) were satisfying even though the selection was limited. There is a nice small gym and a sauna on the sixth floor. The sunset view from the gym is amazing, so bring your sneakers! The cleanliness in our room seemed good except for some mildew in the shower. I guess the bathrooms are due for renovation relatively soon.

A very nice central hotel with friendly staff, clean modern rooms and afternoon waffles for free. Breakfast is basic but very good. if you are looking for a good hotel that is not too expensive this is the one for you.
