We decided to spend our wedding anniversary in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) for the landscape and the nature. Couple of years ago, we went through Triberg and so we dediced to have a go to that small German town. We chose the Best Western Plus Hotel Schwarzwald Residenz because we are part of the BW fidelity program, so why not. To make it short the stay was perfect. The personal is ready to help and assist in case of needs, breakfast is plenty, the room was spacious and clean. The swimming pool is big enough to swim several rounds. I guess it should be at least 12 or 13 meters... Didn't check though. We also decided to try the restaurant, and it was good too... Ah, I am told that I have to find something negative... Hum... Ok, the choice of beer is small - but because I like to try small and local breweries drinks!
Good size rooms, lift, parking, pool & sauna, good breakfast and evening restaurant food. Just a short walk from the town centre. Would stay again.
comfortable hotel with huge rooms close to the village and waterfalls. unfortunately the dinner was not exciting (it was included with the organized group with which I traveled) and the very rude breakfast lady shouted at me for having taken two napkins when they were finished on our table. It was really unpleasant at 7 in the morning this rudeness. furthermore, there was only half a roll of toilet paper in the room and for two days for two adults it is not enough...
Cozy hotel on top of the hill with outstanding view. The breakfast was very good! We used sauna after cold day outside and they have pool as well. We stayed at the family room. Very specious room and nice big balcony. They provided the baby crib for us with pillow and blanket. Very happy with our stay definitely would be back. Thank you for your hospitality
Super service, beautiful rooms, amazing pillows, very comfortable Great breakfast, great dinner! Family friendly- pool- kids area, very very beautiful Highly recommend this quaint little hotel night above the village Coffee and tea included in the stay Beautiful balcony
Lovely hotel: mid-range price, very nice rooms with great views, clean and spacious. Restaurant on site is very good! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is secure in a gated garage. Location is in town but up hills so driving down to the center is recommended. The hotel included passes to the museum which is a really nice place to eat and the museum was very good! We spent more time there than expected.
The staff are friendly and breakfast was nice. The location is close to town but bear in mind that it is uphill so not ideal for those with mobility issues. We booked an Apartment King room with balcony and I did not like the room we had as it was at the back / side of the hotel , I think facing the front would have been nicer. What disturbed me about the this back apartment was the main bedroom window looks out onto a small garden area and the heavy curtains don't fully cover the area of the window which means that at night when you have the light on those walking the corridor can see into your room. Thee are sheer curtains but you can still see in. Also this room has only a shower and no bath. I would stay in the hotel again but not that room. The parking in front of the hotel reception was full so we parked on the street which was fine. There is paid parking in the hotel garage for those looking for added security.
My wife and I stayed here for our visit to Triberg and found the hotel very comfortable and convenient. We were planning to take the train to Triberg but instead ending up driving. We were glad we drove because the hotel is located about halfway up a big hill so walking back and forth to places in Triberg would be very difficult. The hotel provides on site parking for 5€/day but be advised high vehicles would be difficult due to low ceilings. The restaurant on site is excellent. The hotel provides free tickets to enter the waterfalls so it is an added bonus.
This was the best hotel of our 2-week motoring holiday in the Black forest. The room was excellent, with views across the valley, and of the town, and the food was very good, both at breakfast and in the evening. We were half-board, and had no complaints about the meals. Parking is possible right outside the door, if you arrive early enough! The hotel is rated 3 star, but it was better than a couple of the 4-star establishments which we tried. A very enjoyable stay in a lovely town.
We booked very last minute and we're just happy they had availability. However we were very pleased with the room. The staff were very helpful and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. The beds were a little to hard for me but bed comfort is very selective based on individual. Very happy with BW
Nice spacy rooms, very clean and tidy. The family Wiengarn is very friendly and does make the extra mile! On top we were surprised with a briljant breakfast and high class diner! The gastronomic delight was not bad and the variation on daily basis is good. Electric car friendly for the Tesla drivers is also welcoming. Child friendly.
This was the best hotel I stayed in during my week in Germany, was surprised by such great quality from a Best Western. Beautiful views of the city and mountains, and the actual room was a great size. All employees were very nice and helpful and the breakfast was great quality for a cheap price. Only downsides were that the parking garage was small and hard to navigate, and the beds were pretty hard. But the good things definitely made up for it.
Very nice Experience in this hotel. Room was very big and comfy, even though if you opened the window smell from the kitchen came up. Nice swimming pool to cool down after a day off walking. Good breakfast with all you need.
Appartment spacious however rather basic. Staff at the desk spoke clear English. Room was missing air conditioning and a fridge, would be handy in summer and would expect it for this price and the Best Western Plus label. Additionally the room did not keep out noise from the neighbours. Underground parking was not included in the rate, you must pay 5 euro per night. Honestly I do not see why the parking should be extra, it is in the same building. Parking only opens with a valid key card, so you should park in the street first, check in, and then park underground. Restaurant was a severe disappointment. Staff did not make us feel welcome. Cheese sandwich was soggy, and tomato soup bland and watery. Hotel markets itself as child friendly (playground, playing corner in the hall) but restaurant menu does not offer any child friendly dishes. All in all I feel we paid too much for our food and our stay.
We stayed one night at this hotel and it was excellent. The rooms are modern, clean and well designed. The location is convenient for the falls and there is free parking around the hotel. The swimming pool is nice. Overall a good hotel in the region
Nice hotel with exceptionally good beds and pillows! Rooms were big, fine and clean. Hallways were a bit worn down but not the rooms. Restaurant was fine but traditional, both for breakfast and dinner. Possible to park in the parking cellar beneath the hotel for 4 eur/night. It was abit narrow, but manageable also for larger cars.
This hotel was very nice, situated on a hill with a great view. The rooms are nice but a bit smaller than anticipated since I request a room with a king bed and two singles but the singles weren't actually beds. Didn't have access to the pool which wasn't mentioned until arrival but great location, close to everything and free parking. Breakfast was good too.
We were able to get a reservation for this place. It was a little bit more expensive than some of the others but well worth the price. Everything was very clean, bright and cheerful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was no problem. Breakfast was amazing! I had overslept due to jet lag and they still have me breakfast. Very nice. I would recommend this place.
This is an excellent hotel higher up the mountain with a nice view of the town. Large, beautifull rooms with a good bed and pillow, big flatscreen tv. Friendly staff. Fresh and extended breakfast. Clearing the tables is done in silence so as not to disturb the other guests during their breakfast. Free parking in front of the hotel and possibility to park in the closed garage at a budget-friendly price. Really worth your visit.
A very good hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean. Restaurant was good but a little pricey. Included breakfast was very good. Most of the staff was helpful and polite some not. Parking was included. Location was about a kilometer from any of the main street businesses. Pool and sauna available. Some wonderful views overlooking the small town. Overall a very good hotel but a bit pricey.
Aside from 'funky' parking for check in, this hotel was one of the best we've stayed in. Our room was generous in size and very clean. Check in and check out was very easy and the desk clerk very attentive. The buffet breakfast was outstanding with plenty of comfortable seating. The location is ideal for shopping and sight seeing in the Black Forest/Triberg area. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip in about a month.
I stayed here for two nights while visiting the Black Forest. The hotel offers great views of Triberg and the hills surrounding it. It's located within walking distance from the city center and the waterfalls but be careful the way back is really steep. My room was really spacious with a nice balcony. Good breakfast buffet and a nice swimming pool.
This hotel is situated in Triberg in the Black Forest area of Germany. The hotel would benefit from upgrading as some of the communal areas were rundown & grubbly looking. However our room was clean. We ate at the hotel but we were disappointed with the standard of the food selection for the evening meals. However the breakfast buffet was adequate.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, spacious rooms, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Friendly staff and delicious evening meal in the restaurant. Reasonably priced for location. Within 10 minutes walk of centre of town.
My family travelled to Triberg with friends as a last stop on our tour of Germany at the end of August. We were so delighted to have chosen this hotel! The family run staff was very welcoming, the rooms were large and clean with excellent views. Ours had a balcony which overloooked this fairy tale village. There was quite a vertical climb to get up to road to the hotel from the town, but it was very manageable for all in our group and we easily took in the sights of Triberg including the waterfall and the many cuckoo clock and wood craft shops. The included breakfast was large with lots of options and the dining room was reasonable and very enjoyable for dinner. Tables were available outside to take coffee or just sit and enjoy the view. And my kids enjoyed the indoor pool. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!
Visited this hotel with a group of motorcycling friends. Everything was excellent and far exceeded our expectations The view is breathtaking rooms are large and very well appointed Breakfast is varied and high quality Evening meals are great Secure parking is available under the hotel There is an indoor pool and Sauna. Most possibly the best hotel in Triberg
The view was fantastic! The breakfast was amazing! There were resources to inform us about what was available to see in the area and bus schedules to help us get to them. I would have loved to stay longer just to enjoy the view from our balcony and the area.
We stayed in a family room at the Best Western Plus, and I'm so glad we did. The hotel room had two rooms and they outfitted the living room with two twin beds for our young girls. There was a balcony that had a beautiful view of Triberg and the Black Forest. The staff were very nice and even got us a wine bottle opener and two wine glasses to enjoy one of the bottles we had purchased in Alsace the day before. We enjoyed our wine on the balcony while our girls played in the playground outside. There is an indoor pool, but we neglected to bring bathing suits on our trip, but it looked cute. Many other children seemed to enjoy it. The breakfast was wonderful - one of the best we had in Europe. Fresh fruit, homemade jams (try the sour cherry - it was delicious), hard and soft-boiled eggs, Black Forest ham, and delicious breads and cheeses. Something we didn't know that we wish had was that you are required to pay a few Euro for a guest pass, but it's good for entrance to the Triberg Waterfall and the Triberg Land. We didn't know this and paid separately to go to the waterfall. Oh well. Also, it may seem like the hotel is far from town, but there's a shortcut and it's only a five minute walk down the hill. The parking is free on the street (something we also wish we had known before we got a parking ticket for parking somewhere verboten downtown!!). We only wish we could have stayed in the Schwarzwald longer.
Room - great room with plenty of space and a good sized balcony. A beautiful view from the balcony. Good bathroom facilities. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of seating options in the room. A safe was in the room. Food - the dining room had a great atmosphere. Breakfast was plentiful with a good variety. Dinner was excellent. The Perch fish was so good I had it on both nights if our stay! Delicious desserts - Creme Brûlée and Lemon Sorbet with Blue Curaçao and mint were excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was available under the hotel for a small cost. Location- great location. Just a short walk to the town centre, waterfalls and forest tracks. WiFi was good. Overall we had a great stay here and would have stayed longer if we could.
I stayed here while doing a short tour of the Black Forest. Due to much less traffic than expected, I arrived two hours early for check-in and was greeted by a friendly member of staff at the reception desk. An early check-in was not a problem and I checked in to my very spacious room, with a breathtaking balcony view at 1 o'clock. The room was clean, had good Wi-Fi, a great shower and bath, a lounge area, a television, a 'pool bag' with extra towels in it, a desk, complimentary water, and much more. I dined at the hotel restaurant in the evening, which was bliss - excellent tasting food, great service and at a reasonable price. During my stay, I also made use of the complimentary Triberg ticket to explore the Triberg Waterfalls. Overall, a very pleasant stay; I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.
We picked this hotel because it seemed to be one of the best choices in Triberg. The hotel is okay. Our room was pretty clean and the staff was nice. The shower had mold in the grout. The overall feel of the hotel is dark and dreary. There is an elevator but you still have to walk up stairs to get to your room. It's almost like there are half floors. Very peculiar set up. We would not pick this hotel again.
We went for a quick (Saturday-Sunday) trip from Stuttgart with our family of 4 (5 and 4 year old kids). For €140, we had a 1 bedroom suite, a queen bed in the bedroom and 2 twins in the living area for the kids. The room was modern and clean. We ate dinner at the restaurant (for lack of a better place while raining): the food and beer was reasonably priced and tasty. Breakfast was included, and a pretty good spread. The indoor pool was nothing special, but a nice surprise.
While visiting family in Germany, my husband and I took a short trip to the Black Forest and spent a couple nights at this hotel. It was not just a warm bed and hot shower. The large, comfortable room had a good-sized balcony overlooking scenic Triberg. The hotel had a restaurant and patio that impressed. The staff were professional and accommodating. The entire property was clean with great decorative touches. I would highly recommend staying here if you plan a stay in Triberg. And if my husband I ever visit the Black Forest again, we would definitely stay here.
Spacious quiet rooms. Lovely breakfast in nice dining room. Staff was polite and helpful. You can walk to town from hotel ( hill) which was nice. Loved walking to Triberg Falls from hotel also. Gorgeous falls
We spent one night at this hotel at the start of our drive north through the Black Forest and would definitely stay in this quaint European style hotel again. Our suite was spacious; the bathroom was small but functional though the shower in the tub was a little awkward and scarily slippery. There was no AC but the fan and open doors to the spacious balcony provided a nice air flow of mountain air. There is a parking garage with elevator access to the floors, though our room was located in a hallway that required walking up 8 steps with our luggage. This could be rectified with an elevator with doors opening front and back. We had dinner in the hotel dining room (Black Forest trout Almandine) and it was superb. The breakfast buffet had everything on offer one could hope for. While the drive up is fairly distant from the city, the town market area is only a 10 minute walk down a steep narrow street. There are many cuckoo clock shops and other little shops selling Black Forest souvenirs.
Hotel has an excellent location with magnificent views of the mountains and the village. Staff were very helpful and service was good. Rooms were beautifully decorated but bathrooms need a refurbishment. Breakfast was delicious and had a variety of different items.
As has been written frequently below, it is a great location with nice facilities and a very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed three nights, so we were able to get a pretty deep experience. Breakfasts were good, and dinners at the in-house restaurant were also good. Our visit coincided with a heat wave, so one negative is the lack of air conditioning, but this should only apply a few weeks a year. Another negative was very slow wi-fi, but I believe this is a problem throughout the region and not limited to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again, and appreciated everything very much.
The staff make this hotel a nice visit. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, bathroom dated but very clean. We came in early evening after driving a distance and stayed at hotel for dinner and drinks. Our waiter (Andreas) was personable and made us feel very welcomed. He shared information about the area and was very attentive through out the meal. Breakfast was included and was plentiful- nice selection of cereals, fresh bread, jams, eggs, fruit, etc... Perfectly suited our needs for our overnight stay.
We planned a trip by train to tour Black Forest. But the ICE train we were to take was cancelled and the alternate was almost 3 hours late. Then because we were late rental car situation got messed up. Needless to say we got a late start. When we got to Triberg we concluded an overnight accommodation but did not have a reservation and it was the busy season. Our luck was finding this hotel. Staff Extremely friendly and helpful. We got a very nice room with balcony and great view. Had the most relaxing sleep there we had in a week. Would love to come back and stay longer.
The rooms are clean and spacious. We only stopped here for one night and if an opportunity comes that we go through Triberg we will stay here again. Staff were friendly and attentive. The place is within the Black Forest and we were given a free pass to the waterfall which is walking distance from the hotel We also had dinner at the restaurant and we did not find any faults whatsoever I highly recommend this place
Fantastic hotel in the area. Rooms are bigger than other hotels. Good for family of four to stay. Staff are very helpful. Breakfast is very good. Location is great (short walk to main street). The view is very good from hotel room ( on top of the hill).
Location is excellent although it is drag walking up to it from Triberg centre. Town is lovely, hotel has a reasonable restaurant, evening meals, although a limited menu, were very good and reasonably priced. Staff throughout the hotel were super friendly apart from one miserable sole. The breakfast is very good with average to good offerings. Parking - there is an underground garage but we left our car for no charge alongside the garage next to the street where it was perfectly safe. Rooms were a little basic and could do with sprucing up but adequate for our 5 night stay. No room air conditioning. The addition of a balcony was well received. Pool is a good size, not heated but surprisingly the pool area was incredibly hot. Needed to cool off in the sauna. Would recommend this hotel as a good comfortable base to tour the region and prices are competitive.
We stayed here for two nights with our teens in late March. We got the two bedroom apartment and it was both spacious and comfortable. Free Wi-Fi (although it's limited to four devices) and onsite garage parking. The hotel gave us free passes to the falls, public transit, and a few other local attractions as well as a coupon for 5% off of a purchase at the House of 1000 Clocks. Full breakfast is also provided by the hotel free of charge. It was pretty tasty and they put out a decent spread of juices, baked goods, meat and cheese, and your standard eggs and bacon. We had dinner onsite one night too. We found it reasonably priced and pretty good.
I did a bunch of research before I picked this hotel. Made a perfect choice. A very unique Best Western. Up on a hill overlooking the valley. We booked a Double Bed Quiet Location with Roof Deck. Loved the layout had a lil area you could close off for second bedroomThe balcony view of the valley was one of the best during our trip to Germany. Breakfast was not the best we had on our trip. Very comfortable room. The did offer secure parking on the bottom floor of the hotel for a very reasonable price I think it was 5E a day. Of course my husband loved the beer vending machine in the kids play area.
Hotel has great proximity to shops and restaurants. The staff at the reception speaks fluent English. She was very friendly and informative. The balcony view from the room of Triberg was spectacular. Hotel has lift, and an indoor garage whic is very convenient. Restaurant served delicious dinner. Positive experience and will return in our future visit.
It was pleasure to be 7 nights in this hotel . The stuff were helpful and try to help when we ask for . The pool was great, very big rooms with tea coffe in the room Locketed in the center of the black forest .
Beautiful rooms. Great views -especially from the roof top balconies! Terrific town. Quiet location. Restaurant goes above and beyond - even handles gluten-free very well. Service outstanding. The only complaint has to be parking. It's just tough to check-in (small parking area near lobby) and even harder to back out! And its a LONG walk from anywhere down the hill, and steep! The good news is, once you've checked in, the worst is over! They have a great parking garage. If I ever have the privilege to go back, I want to stay for longer! Enjoy!
Situated on the edge of Triberg, it offers great views of the city and the area from its beautiful balconies. The rooms are huge, with all the necessary, very good and the bathroom. There is free underground parking, wi-fi and a large indoor pool. Good breakfast, polite staff and very reasonable prices. It is the ideal hotel for relaxation. The only disadvantage, that the kitchen for dinner on its beautiful veranda, closes early. It takes a car because the way back from the city is relatively uphill.
It is located higher up away from city center so it is ideal to relax. City center is just 10-15mins by walk. Rooms are good and spacious. However find the front desk and restaurant staff too brisk and curt which is the only downside to this place.
We visited this for one night in our travels through the Black Forest. It is a nice hotel that is up on the hill giving a good view of the city. Don't plan on walking to town from here as it is out of the way a little. The hotel rooms are large, nice and spacious with balconies. Covered parking as well. From the places we saw, was probably the best option in town.
We would have stayed longer had we known how great this hotel would be. After staying in several other small hotels in small towns we had come to expect bare basics but this Best Western was really perfect. First, the views from the rooms are wonderful, and they have little decks so you can enjoy the view any time. They also have parking so you could drive here instead of trying to get there by bus and dragging your luggage up the hill - note that you should arrange a taxi if possible from the train station. We couldn't figure out how so took the bus which does not get very close! This hotel is perfect for families with kids. Our room had a separate little living area with a twin bed and fold out couch. Our son loved having his own space and it was nice that he could go to bed early and we could sit on the balcony without having to be super quiet. There is also a kid area with a little computer, lots of games and books. There is a small playground outside the eating area as well. Also there is a pool so be use to bring bathing suits. The breakfast was included and really good, everything was fresh and tasty and there was plenty of it including very nice fruit. The people who run this hotel are very friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and nicely decorated. It's a long uphill walk to the hotel, but it's an easy walk from the hotel to the town. We would definitely visit again!
We loved Triberg and very much liked our hotel. The front desk lady was a little cold, but all in all everything was perfect. The room we had was a suite...perfect for a family of four. It overlooked the playground. There is also an area at one of the stair landings with crayons and toys etc for the kids. There is also an indoor pool, but we didn't check it out, so no comment there. Breakfast buffet was included and had many healthy options. Our beds were comfortable and the bathroom was very roomy and comfortable and clean. Great pick! Oh and parking is free. :)
Hotel view is excellent, looking right at the falls and black mountain. Room is clean and good size, breakfast have excellent selections, spa and steam room on hotel property, staffs are very helpful.
The hotel was very nice with a very friendly staff. Location from the city center was not to far but we choose to drive and park because we planned on buying a clock and didn't want to risk dropping it on the wall up the hill. The only thing I wish it had in the room was a small fridge so we could keep beverages cold but other then that I would highly recommend staying here if ever in the Triberg area.
It is nice hotel with pool and sauna and great breakfast buffet and Dinners. Only one thing they need to replace pillows with better pillows. their pllows are very soft and hard to sleep with too soft pillow
We stayed 4 nights. The room was very large with a nice shower, living room, and balcony overlooking the entire town. Clean; well maintained. It is above the town a few blocks, but we would walk down in the morning and take the bus up to the same height and just walk a couple of blocks over. On arrival you get a pass for free travel throughout the Black Forest by train or bus. We used it extensively. Breakfast is included and tasty. The restauraunt is very good with an interesting selection of German food and drinks, and the wait staff was outstanding. We ate there 3 nights- very convenient. Gorgeous outside view from the deck. Owners Georg and Manuela were extremely friendly and helpful. We wanted to look at some local places that made cuckoo clocks, and she identified some for us. We found one, and owner Robert Herr actually took us on a personal tour of his workshop, but could not find the other. When we got back to the hotel and Manuela found out that we did not find the second workshop, Georg took us directly there in the van. Wow! The owner of Rombach & Haas gave us a fascinating history of the cuckoo clock and of his business. As we were walking back down the mountain, Georg saw us and gave us a lift back to the hotel. Super friendly place with personal service.
Our room was clean and spacious. We had a balcony with 2 chairs and a little table. The bed was large and really comfortable. A slide across divider between main bed and sleeper sofa. Coffee provided in room. Breakfast was included and delicious..variety of breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, sausages, variety of jams, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, 3 different kinds of cereal, fresh fruit, yogurts, an assortment of juices as well as coffee and hot chocolate. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The indoor pool clean and very enjoyable. The outdoor play area was a bit small and not shaded-very hot. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was good. Beautiful location, you can hear the waterfall from the hotel balcony. I have nothing but good things to say about the Best Western Plus.
I've enjoyed five days and four nights in this great hotel. I was greeted by friendly staff that also spoke English (to my surprise). And my room came with a complimentary Triberg tourist card which gives free entry to the waterfalls, museum, public transportation and more. The room was very spacious with all facilities one would need during a stay (balcony, bath, lounge corner and nice beds). Breakfast was well worth it as where the four course dinners. Definitely a recommended place to stay for both short and medium-low stays Side note: I've not tried the indoor pool and sauna facilities
We spent two nights at this location. The hotel was very nice. clean and well maintained. Room was large with separate sitting room, large bathroom. TVs in both rooms. The breakfast was great. Large selection-almost missed the main part, Was in next room over. It is a hotel we will gladly stay at again. Main entrance: This one is a little challenging. I pulled up to the front but there is no turn around. Not fun to back out if slots for cars are all full. Much better to park on street, get access to garage and then use elevator to take bags up to room. Elevator: be prepared for couple steps up or down to get to rooms. elevator is in middle and rooms jog up or down depending on left or right from elevator. Parking: note it is below hotel. Do not pull up until gate is open. Small sign says this but we missed it. Once you know its no issue.
A nice hotel located just outside of the city center. Very close to bus/train stops. Excellent staff. The bed (I think it's memory form) and pillow are a bit too soft for me. My room even has a Samsung tablet!
we stopped by in Triberg for a quick 1 night stay while visiting the waterfall and buying a cuckoo clock. a great hotel for a quick stay. nothing too fancy, but really nice. the rooms were HUGE i mean a full family/tv room, full bath with tub and a shower, and a nice large bedroom. clean and nice!
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We would both reccomend it. Positive: Our room had a balcony facing the front of the hotel which provides a fantastic view. There is plenty free parking in front of the hotel and on the sidewalk as well as a secured garage(€3 per night). The resteraunt was a little pricey, but the food was fantastic and the waiter spoke fluent english. Room was huge, by far the largest we had during our entire trip. There is also a small game room and swimming pool. Negative: The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The shower had a glass pane that wasn't large enough so water would just spray onto the floor. They also charge you for a guestcard (€4,20 per person). We only used the card to get into the waterfall for free but it would have been cheaper to just pay for it. It was quite a hike to town. Going down is fine but coming back up is extremely steep. We are both in our 20's and thought it was a little tough.
Stayed in this hotel with my partner for 3 nights . Room was spacious and a lot bigger then I expected, room had everything you could need and was great value for money . Breakfast in the morning has a hot and cold selection (meats , pastries , eggs , bacon , fruit ect) it was okay , however the hot food wasn't very hot. Dinner at the hotel was defiantly expensive for what you actually receive , however there isn't to many dine out options in town . If you are catching the train to this hotel I'd recommend catching the bus as the hill to the hotel is extremely steep if you have heavy luggage , or catch a cab (you'll appreciate it ! ) .
Great hotel, well located, extremely spacious rooms, very tasty breakfast, and really great pool and sauna which is open until 10 pm, and provides muscle relief after a day's trip. The front desk is helpful and attentive, and so is the rest of the staff. The only con is there is no air conditioning, but it is normal in hotels this area as the weather was cold until recent years. We loved it.
We arrived late in the evening and were greeted with warm hospitality!! We arrived just before dinner service ended. The food service was really good and the food was perfect. The room sizes are large and really nice. Be sure to reserve a room that has a walkout balcony so that you can see the city. You will not be disappointed. It's a beautiful city!
I've been traveling around Europe for the past year and a half and this stay has been one of the best. The rooms are neat, modern, and clean. The breakfast was fantastic and the onsite restaurant cooked a great dinner. Most importantly, the staff was courteous and made us feel at home. I would stay here again the next visit to the Black Forest.
We were on the 1st floor next to a room of very loud Americans. I asked them to quiet down and they didn't. The front desk asked them to quiet down and they didn't. Then, Monday morning about 6:30 there were loud noises coming from somewhere outside, or maybe people opening their rolladen. About 7:30 the renovation crew started making loud noise. We ate in the hotel both nights as well as breakfast and the food wasn't very good. This morning the bacon was terribly under cooked and the eggs over cooked. What saved breakfast was the bountiful bread. It seemed like dinner was whatever they were trying to use up. The second night the waiter was a bit of a cad. He made some remark that he thought was amusing but an just found it rude! It's the only hotel that offered an elevator which I need due to a disability but I wouldn't stay there again. Even the shower was oddly configured with the taps in the middle so I was constantly bumping it and either freezing or scalding myself.
We went to Triberg, Germany with family and friends picking the Best Western based off of price, and location. Arriving at the hotel exceeded our expectations beginning with the friendly service at the front desk. This was followed by a great room with beautiful views of the town, and surrounding area. The hotel is just a short distance from the center of town which was perfect. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, with more friendly service when we started our day. We will be back.
Lovely hotel overlooking Triberg. Parking either underground at hotel or next to hotel. Great service, friendly & English speaking. Easy to get from hotel to town and near falls and shops via car. Center of town has excellent car park.
Location of the place was great, Staff was friendly, We took a family room and it was spacious with big bed and a nice balcony.could get nice view from the room.Hotel was near to city center.Food was alright,
Very family friendly hotel, pet friendly, English speaking staff, modern, beautiful and very clean rooms. Rooms with balconies have excellent view of Triberg, as the hotel is up the hill (kind of a rough drive up from town, typical tiny winding German road). Very helpful staff, you are given a voucher for discounts at local attractions including the Waterfall and the Schwarzwald museum. Parking garage under hotel so you can park and just walk around. Nice restaurant attached as well. Will stay again, thank you!!
Great location next to train station, restaurants, shops. Staff very very helpfull. In reception it was actually the owner, one of the family members. Excellent room, last floor, great view. I do recommend if you are in the Black Forest region.
Huge bed and lost wife during night, I'm sure she was in there somewhere. Friendly for families, plenty to keep the children occupied. Staff mostly speak English and very helpful. Restaurant is very good & breakfast is continental buffet style, no cooked English breakfasts- it's Germany! Plenty of free parking on the road and secure parking that is chargeable. Hotel deserves it's No1 status in Triberg, forget the picky reviews, they are wrong.
This hotel is very family friendly. We had a large room with two separate bedrooms. Nice Pool, Great Sauna, and pool area changing and shower rooms. Games in the halls for kids of all ages. A game room in the bottom floor. Extremely nice breakfast included. Friendly staff. Everything was clean!!!!
The family room was perfect for us two with our baby! It is two separate rooms with a master bedroom, hallway, bathroom with tub, and a living room with couch (fold out) and twin bed that leads out onto a balcony with table and chairs (great view of the town and forest!). Each room had a TV and closet. The room was very clean and well presented. The staff was helpful and attentive. The breakfast was good and had eggs, bacon, cereals, assorted meats, and cheeses, and breads with a selection of jams. Fruit juice, water, coffees and teas were also available. There is also a vending machine with beer, sparkling wine, soda, snacks, and sweet which was nice to grab something quick. The location was good. Will come back again and stay here.
Excellent choice for short visit in Black Forest, We enjoyed the beautiful surrounding nature including forest, waterfall and mountains, the picturesque little town with authentic buildings. The hotel is very compact, with familiar friendly atmosphere. It is very clean, the room 01 was perfect for our family of 4. Very adequate service (when an error is made it being fixed right away) The food is homey. Dinner was a typical regional food (choice of 3-4 main dishes) the breakfast is good (especially for european standards) We were glad there were a heated indoor pool and sauna to keep us occupied on day with poor weather. All together is a good value for money and I would recommend staying there.
Excellent hotel, beautiful view from the balcony. Large and spacious rooms very clean. Service is very polite and professional. A large selection of dishes in a dining room for breakfast, very tasty. It is possible to have dinner in the restaurant, do not we have dinner out. There is a possibility to maintain indoor parking. Really enjoyed and there is no doubt we will go back.
Great room, great service, great view, and not a bad price considering the location! Also a cover parking included! Definitely recommend staying here. Only faults were: slow and limited wifi, and there's a steep walk, to and from the center of the village. But this is Triberg.
This was a very clean and up kept hotel. They had a nice pool area and suana. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were big and we had a balcony with a view. The breakfast had everything one would need plus some extras.
The room is excellent with a nice view. Breakfast is a good deal package and delicious. The pool and sauna are amazing for relaxation. Internet and other Tv accommodation are perfect condition. Staff are very professional and great service. Will recommend to friends or family that would like to visit in Triberg.
Got a package over the Easter weekend and it was great. Had the breakfast and dinner package. The breakfast was a normal breakfast and I was expecting the cheapest dinner that they could serve but it was great!!! Americans...DONT be fooled by the name...like you Best Western has a hint of cheap hotel like hotel 6 but this one is very nice. The room was clean and we had a room on the 4th floor with a great view of the town and everything was in walking distance. They seemed to be a little short staffed but the ones there were very eager to please and the language difference was not a worry. The room was clean and plenty of room. Parking may be an issue and finding the lobby was a challenge...pay the extra 3 Euro a day for reserved parking. Finally a no hassle vacation...sooooo worth it.
We booked a room at this hotel only a few days before we decided we wanted to experience Fasching saturday and sunday in the Black Forest. Getting to the hotel was simple, with the help of our GPS, and the hotel staff was helpful in telling us about Fasching related events in Triberg, as well as in neighboring towns... Our room was spacious, however, when we first walked in, there was a smell so overpowering, we had to sit on the balcony with the door open to air it out for a while... Which wasn't too bad, considering we were in the Black Forest with a beautiful scenery and trees all around us... But the stench was terrible... Probably the only bad side to our two day trip. Visiting the waterfall Triberg is known for, and watching and being engaged in the parade through the town easily made us forget about the smelly room. :-)
We had a good stay only night wish we stayed longer. Good service, big renovated room with a nice view. Great relax area with Swimming pool and 2 saunas. Big breakfast with lot of options. We paid €22 for dinner menu at the restaurant which we can recommend.
Stopped here in business. Thankfully had a car as it was a steep climb up a hill. Big problem was parking, there wasn't much about and the car park outside reception was very tight only four spaces and a nightmare to reserve out of. Rooms where clean functional and mine had a nice balcony with views over the valley. Food was great, attentive server no issues here
We chose to stay here because we've rented a car, and we learnt from Tripadvisor reviews that there is a market nearby which is essential for us to buy foods for a picnic on the day we leave Triberg. The room is so so spacious, dinner at restaurant was a bit expensive compare to those we visited at Schwangau. Breakfast was good enough. We received complementary tickets for the waterfall and some other discount coupons which are useful for us. It is free to park at the parking lots at the front door, but there are only a few of them. We anticipated that we need to park inside the garage and prepaid for it. Eventually, the parking space there is too small for a Mercedes E350 estate. We had to park on the road instead and managed to get the refund of parking fee while we check out.
This hotel overlooks the town of Triberg. The staff is very helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable although the furnishings were somewhat dated. The indoor pool is large and the area well maintained. We had dinner in their restraint and the food and service was also very good. The breakfast buffet is the usual European buffet plus scrambled egg, bacon and sausage. They offer covered, secure parking.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in October. The hotel was clean and modern. I was a little concerned about the location because it wasn't in the center of town, but it was really just a short walk into town. Although the hotel has a parking garage, we were able to find street parking for no charge.
This hotel had a great view, but it was a long climb to the hotel each time we went into the middle of the town. The pool was nice but parking was limited. I booked on the internet and was unable to select 2 adults. When I arrived, I learned I had to pay almost double what I originally thought. I might not have stayed there had I known in advance. There were many other options, closer to the middle of the city.
In December 2014 I stayed a few night in this hotels for business. I was very happy with the service, the rooms, the views and the food. The breakfast was typical German, so no issues. I joined two times for dinner. Lovely food. In the evening some nice activities near the entrance of the hotel as Christmas was just two weeks away. The views from the rooms are superb ! At the 1st floor is might be less good than the higher floors, so for the view, the higher the floor, the better the view. The bedroom is spacious. So when I told at home of my great experience in this hotel we decided to book this hotel for 4 nights as a stay over for our trip to Austria. So in the end of July 2015 we came back with my family. The experience was not bad, but less good than in December 2014. Because it was so warm, we slept with the balcony door open. The "automatic alarm bell" of the church bells woke us up every morning at 07:30. For some people this might be a little bit early. As we went bed early it was noticed that we had some discomfort from 'traffic' at the floor above. Children running through the hallway at 23:00 making some noise can prevent some people from sleeping early. So summarizing, this hotel is not bad, it has good food, but the sleep time might be limited due to noise of other guests in the holiday season. If I need an hotel in this area I would not hesitate to come back.
Hotel location was fantastic , 15 to 20 min. walking to the center . We booked a two-bedroom apartment it was great big clean quiet the view was fantastic . The staff was very helpful understanding . Breakfast was good . free parking available , Recomanded for others . I were having a problem with the wifi & other was geeting it fear . The town was great hope to visit again specialy the cock`s clock shops and the waterfall
This hotel, with it hillside view of Triberg, was one of the best experiences of our vacation in Germany. Convenient, comfortable and reasonably priced - the service was excellent, drinks on the veranda in the evening and a fine breakfast made this one of the best lodging stays in the country for us.
Chose this hotel for its location and price. Parking outside the hotel for free was a big bonus. Our room was facing the city on the top floor and I have no complaints. It was warm when it needed to be and quiet. The pool is heated, indoors and amazing and they have a very clean sauna. The breakfast was nothing to brag about but was still very good. Staff is friendly and helpful and the walk into the city (about 20 minutes) was not bad at all. There is a market about 5 minutes away, so i suggest snacks and drinks there. The bar at the hotel is good and small. Not a party hotel which was good. Great for couples and families. I would like to stay here again.
