Situated at the end of the long pedestrian street and close to the famous casino, this is a great place to stay in Sanremo. The royal suite is spacious, luxurious and has lots of windows with views of the casino an$ the pedestrian street in front. The staff were courteous and welcoming. The room was spotless and a great place to escape for a rest after wandering the city. This was a perfect choice for our first time in this wonderful city. We walked from the train station and that took about a half hour and the walk introduced us to the layout of the place. I highly recommend this delightful hotel.
We had a stop off in Sanremo for a couple of days, and decided as a treat to go for the Royal Suite, checklin was easy then we went to our room which was very small. Upon challenging the recetionist he had given up the wrong room. The suite was nice and very big, it had a dated 80s feel but was nice and clean and well presented. A bonus was the big bath with water jets and a big shower. It was nice to sit in the lounge area with the door open and see the nightlife down below and the nice evening viewsd out over the harbour. Our sleep was excellent, very quite and the beds where comfortable. We didnt take up the offer of Breakfast as at €22 each seemed a bit steep! We wouls stay again but next time in a different room type.
After booking elsewhere for two nights and only staying one because it was horrible! I called Best Western who had a room, they kindly kept our luggage from early morning so we could do a planned drive to Monaco for the day without them. When we got back they had much welcomed valet parking. I was travelling with my husband and adult daughter, we had a two bedroom suite. The suite was gorgeous, striking in red and white. Very roomy light and bright with a nice view. Coffee making facilities were in room and an iron if needed. Bathroom was large with double sink and good quality soaps etc. very peaceful restful sleep. Great location in centre. Good breakfast on rooftop with good coffee. Would highly recommend I should have booked here first
It's become our tradition to stay in this hotel during our summer vacation. The rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast area on the hotel's roof overlooking Sanremo is setting your day. The location is perfect. Close to the sea and very central to everything in the city. Staff are very friendly. Special thanks to Christian who always trying to make his customers happy. We also highly recommend dining at the hotel's restaurant. It is, without a doubt, the best restaurant in Sanremo. Also suggest making a reservation as it is usually full for dinner. We are looking forward to coming again next year.
This is a very welcoming hotel, with friendly staff. Very helpful during our stay. Location is excellent to allow us to visit the town, and also closeness to transportation.
Our third stay at this Best Western. Great location and newly refurbished rooms made for a good choice again BUT the breakfast each morning was awful. The hot dish offerings (eggs, sausage and bacon) were cold and inedible. The service was very poor, which made for an unpleasant experience. We will come back, but will not include breakfast again.
Short Stay - 1 night. Family Break - 2 rooms reservation. Our check-in experience had the potential to be deceptive due to a misunderstanding during the reservation process. However, this situation was brilliantly and elegantly resolved, thanks to Signora Romana Brioschi. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade to a wonderful suite. We highly praise her for her exceptional service. Aside from that, the Quintessenza Restaurant is truly outstanding. They offer a wide range of local specialties, prepared in both traditional and innovative ways, all executed with excellence. The restaurant caters to a diverse global hotel clientele, and for those seeking a seafood-oriented experience, we recommend complementing your visit to Quintessenza with Flipper or Da Tino. While the service at the hotel may not always be the warmest (similar to the front desk), it is efficient and professional. Alqimia, the hotel's coffee shop, offers a diverse selection of beverages and pastries, all of exceptional quality. The young and friendly staff create a pleasant atmosphere. However, we found the included breakfast on the 7th floor to be of minimal interest. The buffet offers supermarket-grade products, and the presence of wasps can make it challenging to enjoy the great terrace. In our opinion, it's better to skip this and opt for an extra treat at Alqimia or explore other dining options around the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to experience the spa, so we cannot provide an opinion on it. One of the hotel's strongest points is its location. It is ideally situated between the city center, nestled on a bustling merchant alley, and the premium beach district where other renowned establishments like Hotel de Paris, Grand Hotel, and Miramare are located. It's a sweet spot for those seeking proximity to the finest 4/5-star establishments near the city center. In summary, our overall experience at Hotel Nazionale was excellent. Based on our stay, we wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Nazionale and would gladly return on our next visit to Sanremo.
We are from Atlanta, US and this was our first trip to Italy after COVID. It was a pleasure to see our favorite hotel become even better. Staff is very accommodating, rooms are clean and a nice breakfast on a rooftop is a good start of the day. The Hotel's Restaurant now is the best one in Sanremo. Many thanks also to Christian, who is doing a magnificent job to make your stay happy and enjoyable. Hope we will be able to stay in this hotel again in the years to come!
A good hotel in an excellent location on the main pedestrian street in San Remo, a minute's walk from the casino. The room we got (412) was very spacious and clean, the bed is very comfortable and the breakfast on the roof with a sea view is very good. The staff members were very kind and helpful (an exception was Simone from the reception who was impatient). The hotel offers valet parking for guests for an additional fee, but we found parking on the street next to the hotel.
I had asked for a quiet room, at the back. Many hotels ignore these requests. Not here. The receptionist who checked us in presented the key and confirmed that the room was at the back. We had a quiet night's sleep. Good location. Clean room and bathroom. Though the rust and mould on the bottom of the shower doors looked a bit unsightly. The room has a fridge and a safe. I couldn't work the AC. I suspect that it may not be operational as of the end of March, unlike the Best Western Brice Gardens in Nice, where we'd just come from. The room was small. Right now, I am in a three-star hotel in Genoa, writing this review. The room here is bigger. We had dinner at Maison Nat, near the hotel. It was excellent.
Very nicely located near the Casino, shopping & restaurants. Good service for parking. Very nice hotel located near the market (San Remo Saturday). NIce room clean and all facilities including tea/coffe. Breakfast is 10 Euros with a beautiful sea view.
Great hotel in perfect location adjacent to all the shops, restaurants, harbor and beach. This was our second stay at hotel. Staff were all very helpful and spoke English, and accommodated our request for early check-in. We had 3 single rooms on the second floor, all near each other, and we were fortunate to each have a balcony. Rooms were beautifully remodeled, modern, well appointed and very clean. Highly recommend!
We waited on terrace for a drink took for ever so I asked bar man if we could have a drink. He just said bye bye. Do not go here Extremely rude barman no respect for families waiting to have drinks and snacks. Spoiled our stay insanremo
I have just spent 4 great nights here. The check in was smooth, a friendly welcome and helpful through out the stay. I had a double room, it is compact but very clean and comfortable for myself. The bed was comfy, air con worked well and the shower room appeared new and was great. Very good pressure! I had a great view from 210 over the local area and Sanremo Casino. Breakfast is served on the top floor and is a good continental mix. Fantastic views! The location is perfect, ideal for shops, restaurants, the harbour and beach, ideal for everything. Would love to visit and stay again when next in town! Thank you!
We stayed with 4 friends and had 3 suites on the 6th floor. We thought they would all be the same but they were not, although they were all of good quality and totally acceptable. The rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful. We did not eat in the hotel as the breakfast was a cold buffet but we did have drinks each evening when we returned to the hotel. This would be our only area of criticism - the bar staff were very friendly and the drinks fine however: it is not a hotel bar but more of licensed cafe. It is primarily targeting passing trade on the pedestrian street with a pastry counter and coffee machine being the focus. We would definitely stay again.
We stayed here because we attended the Puccini Opera Festival in Torre del Lago. It is an absolute perfect location. The staff is extremely attentive and made our stay perfect. Their restaurant recommendations were fantastic and we created lifelong memories.
Beautiful renovated Hotel in the oldtown, charming de Luxe rooms. The service was grandiose. I really felt cozy and at home. The rooms had all technical finesses. Thank you for the warm welcome! I will come back again.
We stayed here for 4 nights and it was super! The hotel is very central for everything but extremely quiet! The staff are lovely and all speak english. The room has wifi and a safe, you just need to ask for a key at reception. The rooms are spacious and spotless. Towels are changed twice a day if you need them. They have a recycling bin in the room. The bathroom is good with toiletries including body lotion. The room has tea and coffee making facilities. For 8 euros you can have a really excellent breakfast. This is such good value! There is everything you could want to eat! This hotel is excellent, I can't wait to go back next February!
Stayed for three nights in this lovely hotel. Best location in pedestrian shopping area. Very close to beach and all Sanremo offers. Decided to book an extra night online but made a mistake and booked wrong night. But lovely helpful Alessia (speaks perfect English) told me luckily hotel had space for the extra night and changed the reservation for me. Super clean and all you need in a hotel
Very nice service at the reception at a late arrival, additional a valet parking service, afterwards the room very clean, well equipped and with balcony for smokers. Check out easy. Hotel is directly on the main shopping street and easy to reach by car
This is very nice hotel with great location in city center (very nice pizza places around). Staff is polite, rooms are quite small but clean. Breakfast is ok, but dining area has wonderful terrace with amazing sea view. Also, there is nice view on main street from the rooms. Parking is a bit complicated, but definitely a hotel I would recommend.
This hotel is really worth staying in when in Sanremo. The staff are warm, friendly and very helpful. The rooms are good sized and well maintained and cleaned to a very high standard. Breakfast has a wide selection of hot and cold dishes and is served on the top floor with an outdoor terrace area for dining which offers stunning views across the town and coast. This really is a very comfortable and safe place to stay for your visit.
The hotel is very clean and the room is decent size, but it you are a big person, you cannot fit in the shower and bending down to wash you feet is impossible. If you are an average sized person, you'll be fine, that is, if you are not claustrophobic. Also, I prefer my mattresses soft but firm. The one I got was hard and would not conform to the natural curve of your body. Other than this, I would have rated it 5 stars. Perhaps not all the rooms or mattresses are the same. If you have an issue with the size of your shower, or the firmness of your mattress, make sure you ask before a room is assigned to you.
We are going to this hotel for many years and always enjoying our stay. Excellent location, nice clean rooms and good attached restaurant with the discount for guests of the hotel. Hotel extremely clean and well maintained. Breakfast on the roof is setting your day and always fantastic. Front desk staff very friendly and trying to accommodate you.
What a lovely surprise to fall upon this hotel. It is located on the main strip of shopping that is accessible only by foot. We had a beautiful Junior Suite facing the sea and one floor up was the dining room where we had a full view of the sea while having breakfast. The bed was a king size, very comfortable and the bathroom was really large. For me, cleanliness is first and the hotel gets an A+++ rating for that. Giorgio, who was at the front desk, was so friendly and accommodating. We had the pleasure of meeting the hotel manager also, who spent time to explain the local restaurants and how they serve fish that is caught in their local waters. The decor was classic and the suite we had, in particular, was quite open and spacious. I definitely recommend this hotel.
Amazing place in the right place with the right people: just in the main shopping street and so close to the beach too. Looks refurbished recently and definitely we'll be back for sure. Staff is great and friendly, internet worked fine with roughly 10mbps all day long ...
Great location, you can walk most places you need to go. Friendly front desk staff! Try the ravioli pomodoro in the bar, it's unreal. We had a family room and it was big enough for the four of us. Had a great time
This was a lovely hotel in a great location. Breakfast was great. The rooftop lounge area was lovely. The staff were lovely and helpful. The room and bathroom were great. The AC was weak and it was very hot while we were there. But this is Europe so forget your North American expectations about AC. :)
Stayed here for 3 x nights the rooms and location were ideal. The hotel is extremely well maintained and the rooms were perfect. Breakfast was more than just your average continental breakfast (Egg, Bacon and cappuccino served) beautiful terrace and Jacuzzi. The staff were exceptional they went over and beyond. As we had to catch an early train we requested a take away breakfast which they agreed to but then came back and said they would open the dining room half an hour earlier for us. Know that is fantastic customer service. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so enjoyable.
Very good hotel not to expensive, rooms are very clean and staff is very professional and helpful. Decent international breakfast. Right in the center of town so you can walk everywhere. Stayed just one night but would definitely return.
The Nazional Best Western Hotel is as central as you can get in San Remo...right next to the magnificent Casino and on an upscale pedestrian shopping street. From the moment of entering the lobby, service was exceptional and the rooms, we were with friends, were very comfortable and roomy. This hotel is pet friendly and having a car we used the valet service to have it parked nearby. We will be returning to San Remo and will definitely stay here again.
We spent 3 nights in Sanremo. This location and hotel was such a wonderful spot to stay. The rooms were generous in size, spotlessly clean, the breakfast on the rooftop was wonderful and the staff were friendly. We were treated to a 2 hour spa complementary - gifted by the hotel manager after we told him we were on our honeymoon. Thank you so much for making our stay a special one.
We went to San Remo on our trip from the Côte d'azur and Italy. It has been said Sanremo isn't hot anymore and lost it's flair. I have to say i loved the city, the beaches are awful but with everything to see there you don't have to spend a day on the beach. And by the way this hotel has a roof top sun terrace with large jacuzzi. But be fast because there are far not enough beds for the whole of the hotel. The view is beautiful! We had a family room and paid a lot for the luxury you get. The room isn't amazing but OK and has character. It isn't your standard modern sleek room but you feel like in an Italian hotel. You cannot park your car in front of the hotel, this is a car free street which was a big problem with a 6 month old baby! We did not know! We parked illegally in front of the casino, this was ok for the people at the reception. Only valet parking is possible at the hotel. We did enjoy our stay but not because the staff at the reception was very friendly or welcoming. We arrived dead tired with a 6 month old who pooped obviously and when i asked where i could change him they looked in horror and pointed to the restroom. No changing pad so i had to put him on a stone cold counterlike thing in the restroom. The bar / resto place up front was very nice and i loved the staff there! They were so friendly! We ordered of the restaurant to our room once and it was good, not amazing, just good. The hotel is one of the top in Sanremo because of its amazing location. But keep in mind, we had a room on the casino side. In the weekend you hear all the people partying because of the windows who are not isolated. It's single glass! We could hear conversations up to our high room. That is for the price you pay here, a big contra. Sanremo is worth it i just don't know if this hotel can stay in business if they will not modernise and become better, make sure you can park and stuff...
Best Western you've done it again. Great stay wished we could have stayed longer. Clean throughout. Central location. Very friendly helpful staff. No problem with private parking. Mall can get noisy at night.
Loved the casino view!! Just amazing! Nice located, easy to access. We got an upgrade and stayed in an apartment. Very generous and big, but the furniture could be renewed. It fits the old Sanremo style, but it gives the impression that it is too old. Very confortable and good money value!
this hotel should be a BW plus or premiere level hotel. They go the extra effort. Con: Poor internet. Often very slow and I had Problems when streaming and using Skype. Excellent and stable internet connection is very important these days for both business people and vacationers. They should upgrade their system In my room there was only one plug that fits the tea kettle and that is same plug as used for tv so couldnt make hot water and watch tv at same time. I would have liked to catch up on news in the morning. Too Few GOOD English tv stations. Would have liked a financial station like CNBC. Pro: turndown with delicious cookie every night. Not sure if that was because I was on a suite floor (6) or if ever floor has turndown. I didn't take breakfast but did check out the roof terrace which is a lovely place to just sit and read a book or chat with friends. Tip: they have daily news printouts in several languages next to the door on terrace. Hotel might consider also putting the news printouts in the lobby for those who don't do breakfast—or maybe they do and they were gone by the time I left in the mornings. Friendly helpful staff. I hope to return.
This is a great hotel in an excellent location. I only rated 4 stars as the room was a bit small but overall very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold buffet and the terrace overlooking the sea is beautiful. Would definitely stay again.
We booked our 2 night stay in the Nazionale a couple of months ago and we were very pleased we did. We had a great newly renovated room on the sixth floor. The hotel is in a great location next to the Casino at the end of the pedestrian area. Our room was almost sound proof, we heard the odd murmur but nothing more. Our bed was huge and very comfortable and the bathroom was excellent with a wonderful shower. Breakfast was very reasonable and very good. There is a good restaurant at the front of the hotel and a useful bar/ cafe. SANRemo itself is lovely with very good shopping and restaurants. We went to a lovely concert in the Casino theatre.
Room review: We spent a single night in a room oriented on the back. Freshly renovated does not mean soundproofed. We got awoken at 2 am by the person occupying the room above and at 6am by some people in the corridor. The window offered a beautiful view on a smelly garbage... On the positive list, the room itself was very clean and.. that was it. This hotel gets a 4th star due to services it proposes, otherwise a new Ibis would be way more comfortable for a good sleep.
We decided at short notice to visit Sanremo with some friends, the Hotel Nazionale ticked all the boxes and received good recommendations in TripAdvisor. When we arrived parking was difficult as the hotel is at the end of a pedestrian area but the hotel showed us where we could unload our car and trollied the luggage into the hotel. I noticed that one of the reports on the hotel commented on how small some rooms are, therefore I paid axtra for a larger room. Very glad we did as although the room was very nice it was not what I would call a large room. Our bedroom was on the third floor facing the pedestrian street, whilst it was nice to face this area it was quite noisy at night despite the windows being doubled glazed. This might be due ti people leaving the Casino next door. The location of the hotel is excellent at the west end of the Corso Matteotti, probably the best and most upmarket area in the city. The hotel has a restaurant open to the public at street level, it is a very good restaurant with matching service and decor. Breakfast is a bargain served at rooftop level. Plenty of choice and great views. If I return to Sanremo this would be my choice of hotel.
Great location, nice terrace , good breakfast, tasty food on the first floor of the hotel, near beaches by walk it's take 7 minute , the hotel on main street , good staff , in 3 meters there is casino sanremo I will come back again ! I love it
We had such a good stay at the hotel. Great location, very nice and friendly staff. A special thanks to the lovely and helpful man who handled the parking outside the hotel. Also very good cleaning of our room during our weekly stay. We will definitely come back.
We had a great meal in the restaurant next to the hotel. Great food, great service presentation of food was excellent. Service very professional and good fun. Restaurant in a contemporary atmosphere. Slainte from Ireland.
While we have previously visited Sanremo on a day trip from Nice, we decided to spend five nights here and explore the town and its environs in more detail. The Best Western Hotel Nazionale has continually received Very Good or Excellent reviews, would it really be that good? The short answer is yes. From the moment we entered the hotel and checked in at reception, our experience was first rate and there were little personal touches that set this hotel apart from the many others that we have stayed at. Our 4th floor room was immaculate and well presented as were the en-suite facilities and was located at the front of the hotel overlooking the pedestrianised Corso Matteotti. Being at the front of the building there was some noise from passers by and those enjoying an evening refreshment in the cafes and bars nearby but we didn't find this excessive and enjoyed a good nights sleep every night. The church next door rings its bell at 7am each morning and, if it did waken us, we simply turned over and went back to sleep.... The breakfast room is on the 7th floor and has retractable roof and transparent side curtains that, in peak season, will no doubt be opened for an al-fresco breakfasting experience. In late September however, the roof stayed closed but this did not diminish the view across the skyline of Sanremo. The breakfast, if not included in your hotel deal, is 8 euro per person per day extra and we consider this excellent value when we saw the breakfast prices being charged across the border in Nice! The breakfast itself was a typical self service continental affair with a small hot selection of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage though other dishes were available at supplementary cost. Certainly, we found the breakfast selection more than adequate for our needs. All of the sights in Sanremo are within easy walking distance of the hotel though, it must be said, some are located up some very steep hills! The Hotel also has a restaurant attached and this serves a good selection of Italian and International dishes. Hotel guests get a 10% discount. We will not hesitate to use the Hotel Nazionale on our next visit to Sanremo.
We're just back from staying here for 5 nights and loved every minute. The hotel is centrally located in a pedestrianized area so you step out onto the street into a wonderful vibrant town. The staff at the hotel were excellent - always anticipating our every need and nothing being too much trouble for them. When we arrived we were greeted by Carlos who called concierge to collect our bags and valet parking to take our car. It was a very hot day and he must have standing outside all day but Carlos was polite, efficient and happy to help with any questions we had. We had one of the suites and boy, was it everything you would want it to be! We never tired of the views from our balcony over to the sea or from the side windows towards the casino. Additionally, the views from the Roof Garden will live long in our memories. We would certainly recommend the restaurant. We ordered the veal which fell off our forks and tasted sublime. The service was excellent and the atmosphere likewise. We dined here twice and enjoyed every minute. Sanremo itself is a wonderful town, full of effortlessly stylish people - people watching at Melody's Wine Bar was our favourite activity! It's a clean, comfortable town where everyone is so friendly. There's a feel of old style charm about the place mixed with a vibrant, confident atmosphere of today's lifestyle. If you want to kick back and truly relax, Sanremo is the place!
Great hotel with great location and great rooftop with wonderful view... Me and my friend stayed there for 5 days..Is located in the center, close to SanRemo casino..in main street, which is off from the traffic withmany shops and cafes. Breakfast is served on rooftop, with seaview..
It is located at the beginning of the pedestrian street named Corso Matteotti, just a block away from the Casino. It is both a business and leisure hotel, being just 5 minutes walk from the Sanremo West Coast (Bagni Imperatrice). Casino players are also recurrent guests. My wife Bea and the underwriter are recurrent guests, having a business in this part of Sanremo. From Nice-Cote Azur airport, it takes 45 minutes by car to reach the Nazionale. The hotel concierge, with the assistance of Mr. Carlo, will take of your car for Euro25/night. The roof terrace allows a breakfast with sea view which is unique in town. On the ground floor, the restaurant Reminiscences is serving both lunch and dinner. The dishes are very well prepared and presented. Regional kitchen with sea food is prevailing. Each days 3 dishes of the day are presented. The local Vermentino wine is sublime, if you do have to work. Reservation is highly recommended, since all the hotel guests are frequent clients of this restaurant. The room are all clean and functional. Those on the back with balcony which we prefer are facing the Franciscan church. The monks have a luxurious garden with orange, lemon, Chinotto, grapefruits and fig tree. The bell ring at 07:00 AM on Sunday. The staff of local Italian people (Liguri) is led by the GM Mr. Feliciotto who is charming and efficient. He is able to find a room, even if the hotel is fully booked. This happens often in summer. The hotel is at the beginning of the shopping area and the shops are open also during the week-end. With our deep gratitude to all the hotel staff. Mr. Feliciotto and see you soon. Bea and Gianni Novelli, Geneva, Switzerland
Stayed for 2 nights, loved everything about it! Great rooftop view, we bought a couple of bottles of wine and had views of both water and city, while enjoyed. Did have to ask to have A/C turned cooler, controlled by front desk! Street in front of hotel is blocked off from traffic, many shops and places to eat.
Just back from a week's stay at the hotel. Very enjoyable experience - attentive staff, standard of cleanliness very high with particular thanks to Ruddina in the housekeeping team. Worthy of the four star rating and would certainly recommend the hotel.
We were a family of four and stayed noe night. The hotell is located in the middle of the city and offers valet parking for 20€. The family room was large and we had plenty of space. Breakfast was good. Service was very good.
The location of this hotel is excellent being at one end of the main pedestrian shopping street in Sanremo. It is adjacent to the casino and has valet parking. The hotel manages this by having a member of staff waiting just outside the pedestrian area with a list of arrivals. You unload and a porter arrives to take your bags to your room whilst a valet parking service removes your car to a secure parking area. Very efficient and works well in reverse for check out. The facilities are excellent with a roof terrace for buffet breakfast. There is a jacuzzi for guests together with a gym. The associated restaurant serves excellent food and the cafe is open for coffee and light snacks all day until late. Do try the Rossesse wines from the region a great find indeed and very reasonably priced. The staff are delightful and nothing is too much trouble. If you want a relaxed shopping experience and good food then this is the hotel for you.
Fabulous hotel located on the main pedestrian street, close to all attractions. We stayed in this hotel multiple times and always had a great experience. Hotel is well maintained. Rooms are very clean. Air conditioning is working well, WiFi fast even in the room. Front desk staff is very friendly and always ready to help. One of the most outstanding features is a breakfast area on a roof terrace with a view of the sea. Special thank you to the manager of the hotel Christian Feliciotto, who was extremely helpful when we got this year into unexpected situation due to the strike of Italian railways workers; we were not able to get on a train to go to Milan, after we completed our stay in San Remo. We returned back to the hotel and were very upset. Mr. Feliciotto called Trenitalia and found out that the next train to Milan would be only next day. After this he provides us with accommodation at the hotel. It was a great example of a true customer service and Italian hospitality. We can recommend this hotel to everybody. We love this hotel and can't wait to be back. Thanks to everybody working in this hotel that made our stay a very pleasant experience.
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in San Remo. We were greeted at the hotel by Sergio who was great and gave us all the information we needed for a perfect stay...recommendations for the beach, restaurants and aperitivi! We really appreciated the upgrade and it made my husband's birthday celebrations even more special. Great location, ideal for old town, beach and port. We would recommend the restaurant Flipper by the port, fantastic pasta with seafood and great service. A wonderful holiday and wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you
We recently stayed here for one week and were very impressed. Lovely, well organised quiet room on the 5th floor(506), cleaned beautifully and regularly. Buffet breakfast at 8 euros pp was excellent value, with option to eat outside or inside. No swimming pool but a very nice sunbathing area on hotel roof with 10 sunbeds. Free inside jacuzzi, which we didn't use, but it looked good. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.Tables/chairs outside of hotel entrance on pedestrianised street was really good, with very good prices and lots of people watching available.
Hotel nazionale is a great hotel for the location, friendly staff and the rooms are very clean. Good value for your money. The terrace in front of the hotel is great for people watching and has the best coffee!!
Delightful hotel in the centre of San Remo - ideally situated near the shops - valet parking worked a dream as the car was not required during our stay. Fabulous roof terrace and bedrooms were well appointed. Restaurant food good ...............
This hotel is ok but has some problems which could prevent someone staying here again. The food in the restaurant is over priced. The air conditioning in the rooms doesn't work. As someone who doesn't come from a hot climate country, AC is important in your hotel room. The rooms have AC, the hotel just don't give you the option to turn it on as it is restricted throughout the day. Be warned, on a hot day, your hotel room will become a sauna. The hotel has a gym / fitness centre but restricts the use to the hotel guests!! It allows outside companies to use the gym and will not allow a hotel guest to use the gym at the same time. You can use a local gym at €10 a session. Considering the hotel has a gym though and stops guests from using it.. poor management. The hotel has parking but valet only. Slow and expensive.
Very nice, friendly and clean hotel situated in a heart of Sanremo. If you are going to stay in the hotel you will have everything within a reach: restaurants, shops, beach, walking/cycling paths. Hotel has it's own restaurant, roof terrace (7th floor) where you can enjoy your breakfast with beautiful view over Sanremo, Cafe bar and HOT TUB.
Good location, OK size, clean room on the 4th floor. Excellent restaurant attached to the hotel and good coffee shop. Helpful staff. The frustrating part was only one socket on the desk to charge phones. We were two people both with phones and wanted them plugged in on the bedside table. We both had laptops and wanted them charging on the desk. The sockets were there but had been covered up. Too cheap Best Western - way too cheap. Stop frustrating your guests.,
Small but nice friendly hotel in centre of town.Great position for shops. A lovely cafe and a separate very good restaurant at front of hotel where you can sit outside if you wish and watch the world go by. Nice decor and we had a very good size room at the top facing onto the back with a balcony. Would definitely return again. Your car is valet parked .
We stayed here for 3 nights and appreciated our stay. Hotel is centrally located just on the main street of Sanremo, close to the famous Casinò. Our double room was not too big but maybe we're used to other standards in Australia! Anyway staff was very kind, always available for useful info and suggestions about tours, restaurants and much more. Really appreciated them. If you come by car, it could be a bit difficult to get to the hotel due to the pedestrial area: we made a call to the hotel and they "sent" us an employee to help us, parking the car and taking us to the hotel itself (car parking is 10' by foot). The breakfast is good and served on the terrace at the last floor, with a nice view over the town. All in all a very good experience!
This hotel has a great location and probably in its time was an excellent hotel; it is need of refurbishment although they have tried to make some improvements. Overall the rooms were okay a bit small but clean. If your visiting the casino then this is the place to stay. Breakfast can definately be improved !!
The hotel location is the perfect place if you like it the center of everything. This is a kids friendly hotel, great breakfast, very nice staff and most important to me this is a very clean place. I will go there again
Ideally located at the end of the excellent pedestrian shopping zone in Sanremo, this well run and comfortable hotel has its own restaurant, cafe bar, roof terrace and hot tub...........plus plenty of facilities for business groups. Two lifts supply the different levels and our room was spacious, well equipped with airconditioning and a special mention to the comfortable double mattress on the very large bed. The restaurant has a good menu and attentive staff, and there is seating inside as well as outside where you can people watch. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of cooked or continental, but the dining experience on the roof top open air terrace was shades of Alfred Hitchcock.........the resident flock of pigeons are totally brazen and will land on the table whilst you're eating, making the first meal of the day an unwanted and unnecessary fight as you fend off these flying vermin. My only other comment would be that first timers to the hotel should be better warned that the best way to access the hotel valet parking is to abandon your car in the area of the casino.............you can then wheel your luggage to reception and give your car keys to the valet. It's a tried and tested system. We'll come back here and will also recommend it to others.
The hotel is old fasion classic but has a beautiful roof terrace and you can have a nice sea view for both sunrise and sunset. At first the gave us a small room on the 1st floor (which is too nousy at nights due to its closeness to the nearby restaurants) but when you move to higher floors (as we requested) the rooms became bigger and if you ask for the rooms at the left side fasing the casino then you have a terrace too. And they dont have pool, just a jacuzi. Overall 4 stars...
we enjoyed our time here its a close walk to the beach the staff were friendly and the room clean and well presented if were in sanremo again we will definitely consider staying here next time as well
After shopping, we stopped here to share a nice bottle of Rose in the afternoon. The wine was delicious, and nicely chilled, served in lovely glasses. The waiter brought out a platter of delicious savoury snacks, as well as nuts, crisps and pretzels. It was enough to describe as lunch! Will definitely return on my next trip........
We have now returned to the Nazionale four times and always find it to be a great hotel. Rooms always clean, bed comfortable and we always receive a warm welcome from the staff. We have twice had rooms to the side of the hotel overlooking the casino which we find to be great as they have a little balcony that you can sit out on and watch the world go by. The slight downside is that there is also a church whose bells strike the hour in the morning and on Sundays call the parishioners to church but these did not disturb us and actually added to the atmosphere. The hotel is situated in a great place, over the road from the beach and at the end of the Main Street where evening 'promenading' is a must. Breakfast was good value at 5 euros and is served on the roof terrace with an excellent view over the Mediterranean. Car parking service very good, the Hotel is situated on a pedestrian only road, however it is at the end so there is a little area to pull in to and off load luggage. Keys can then be left with reception who arrange for the car to be parked in their garage. At the end of your stay they very quickly arrange for the car to be returned and when it does the porter will take your luggage to the car. There is a charge but parking in San Remo is a bit of a nightmare so this service is worthwhile. One point I would mention - The hotel does still allow smoking in some of its rooms and I think this is arranged on certain floors. Of course depending on whether you smoke or not depends on whether this is a positive. We don't and forgot to make a specific request. The air conditioning must be linked to other rooms as on one of the mornings we could smell cigarette smoke. For us this was mildly annoying but if you have strong feelings make sure you request non-smoking. We love this Hotel and San Remo and look forward to returning.
Best Western Nazionale – (Sanremo, IT) – San Remo is a coastal town in western Italy. The Best Western is not on the seaside but is close by with some views of the Mediterranean. The hotel is clean and comfortable with good sized rooms and A/C. There is a good breakfast in a roof-top room with a sea view. Staff were helpful and spoke English. It is a good choice for a few more Euros given the added cleanliness and comfort.
Ideal for discovering Sanremo, right in the centre of everything and only 5 mins walk to the beach. Rooms were nice and the staff were really helpful. We really enjoyed the roof terrace and the breakfast was very, very good.
This property is an absolute jewel in spite of its awkward reception and coffee shop. The disappointing negative is the pretentious and condescending staff. Overly impressed with their own importance ........
We booked two nights! Never found the hotel which is "somewhere behind the casino." They gave us a credit for one night cancellation and charged us for the first night. Not fair if you can't find the hotel! We called the hotel THREE TIMES to try and locate the street -- even google maps couldn't put us on the right path! Personnel told me I never called. I am sending them a copy of my phone calls! At any rate, San Remo is for walkers and motorcycles and 17 to 25 category. Sorry we missed the sites. Best Western not on our most popular "go to" list right now. San Remo is a mess to navigate by car. Bring your boots made for walking!
Best Western in Italy???? Were we ever surprised. The Hotel Nazionale was superb. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel was well situated with their downtown area and beside the local Casino. We are not casino people, but we walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere. The pedestrian roadway out front, came alive at night with everyone out for a stroll. The food in the evening at their restaurant next door was very good. We did have our meals picked out for us. The breakfast upstairs on the roof top was good too. The views up there were lovely. The hotel is not far from the Mediterranean. We had bus trips to Cannes, Nice and Monte Carlo.
Thanks to Easyjet delaying us by 2 hours at Gatwick, we did not arrive until 10.30pm. We were starving. Asked at reception if the restaurant was open and he went into the restaurant and asked the chef to stay open for a short while to allow us to quickly freshen up before eating. Great service all round and the food was excellent. The Hotel is situated at the end of a pedestrianised area which has some really wonderful shops. My wife had a ball going up one side and down the other, with me in tow, trying to convert the items she was buying from Euros to Pounds, and wishing I had forgotten to bring my credit card. It is about 400 metres to the sea front and there is a pleasant promenade leading to the Marina to the left, and the beach to the right. Our room was clean and comfortable with a an en-suite which had a good sized shower. We also had a tiny balcony overlooking the pedestrianised area which meant that there was no passing traffic. A buffet breakfast is served in the rooftop restaurant so you can sit either inside or out, depending on your preference. There is a limited choice available but the area is nice and clean and the staff are very friendly. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was really very good and cooked to perfection. It was always very well presented plus they have a decent wine cellar. The fact that every evening there were a number of locals in for dinner is always a good sign. I would certainly recommend this Hotel both for comfort and the excellence of the staff.
What a great hotel well positioned food fantastic roof top view really good would recommend this as the best place in sanremo near the shops a short stroll to the port surrounded by bars and redturants
A fabulous location for good restaurants & cafes. Walking distance to the old city & good for elderly family members. The room was comfortable for a twin room & the bathroom was a good size with a walk in shower. Friendly helpful staff who went out of there way to make us comfortable.
Previously stayed at the Nazionale in Porto Fino- great hotel, location and unique harbor. I try to avoid booking companies so booked myself long before our trip.As we drove into Italy after several days in France ,I retrieved our reservation confirmation and then realized I had booked the Nazionale in Sanremo not Porto Fino!Result? Great well located hotel, great restaurants, and a bustling waterfront town that suited us just fine,(I mean Fino).
This hotel has a great location. Some rooms have a balcony overlooking the main pedestrian street. It is a short walk to shops and restaurants and the charming older part of the city. Our stay included breakfast on the 7th floor where there is a roof top patio and wonderful view of the city both during the day and in the evening with the nightlights. Internet was free throughout the hotel and very it was very dependable. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
What a beautiful hotel , everything about this establishment was so perfect . Staff were so truelly friendly from the cleaning staff to front of house and could not have done more for us or anyone else there . Such a relaxing and friendly atmosphere day or night. Food was excellent in my mind and there was no rushing at all be it from breakfast to evening .What ever you asked for, staff did their utmost to provide. Such a comfortable bed , with a lovely spacious bathroom , lovely bed linen and lovely white fluffy sheets which were changed twice a day. Also a mini fridge in room filled with goodies but I did resist ! Centrally placed for access , especially to the casino almost next door !!!! As I did not have a car am not able to comment on this facility but there is parking so you would have to look into this aspect .So enjoyed staying here and could most definitely recommend for a relaxing and comfortable stay. So nice to see dogs were welcome.
We stayed at Hotel Nazionale for 2 nights as part of a touring holiday and had a fantastic stay here the only thing that was a little disappointing was we were booking hotels with a car parks they say they have one but its a valet parking at 19 Euros to park on the road as far as we could work out, the on road parking we did which was safe was 12 Euros for a day and a half which you purchase from the marked shops. All this said we would stay again in a heartbeat.
We arrived by car and the hotel took care of our car and parked it for us in their garage. We had lunch in their restaurant and was happy with the food. The room was quite big and also had a small balcony overlooking the Casino. Breakfast was on 7th floor and we sat outside enjoying a normal Italian breakfast. Wifi in room was good.
We travel to Italy almost every year and stayed in BW Nazionale several times. Hotel is perfectly located on a central pedestrian street where you can see walking orchestras and other performances. It is next to the Casino and is very close to the beautiful seafront boardwalk. Hotel is very clean and well maintained. Front desk stuff always ready to help and answer your questions. Restaurant next to the hotel is excellent and gives 10% discount if you are staying in the hotel. Breakfast on a rooftop of the hotel with breathtaking view on a sea is an experience by itself. This year we are planning to come to this hotel again and even convinced our son, who is graduating from the college and usually does not like going with us on vacation, to stay in this hotel for a week. We had a weekend stay in this lovely hotel right in the city center of Sanremo. Staff was very helpful and professional, told us a lot of useful info to discover the best of this town. Room was big enough for us (2 adults) and with a lateral view over the famous Casinò. The breakfast room at the rooftop was really the top: magnificent view over the town and great food! A little expensive the private garage (you've to climb up a steep road to get to the parking with a member of the staff) but absolutely needed because in Sanremo find a parking place for the car is very difficult!
Six of us, (one double, one twin and two singles) stayed 4 nights in this excellent hotel. On checking in we were greeted not only by the front desk staff but also by the hotel manager - Direttore Christian Feliciotto - who's fluent English, charming and helpful manner was a real bonus. Our rooms were very good. Comfortable beds, clean and well equipped bathrooms, all unobtrusively serviced. The rooms were well situated with views over the Corso Matteotti, the main shopping street. The free wi-fi system was reliable and fast. The hotel bar and coffee shop on the ground floor provided great and friendly service. With many good restaurants in the local area we were spoiled for choice. We dined one evening at the Quintessenza on the ground floor of the hotel. Breakfast is served on the 7th floor with choices to suit every palate. Adjacent to the breakfast room is the roof terrace giving superb views over the sea and town. On our last day Christian got us grandstand tickets to see the San Remo Carnival. We sat in great comfort watching the floral floats and marching bands. Fantastic. As the parade went on beyond the normal check out time we were allowed to hold our rooms until 2pm. Such kindness and consideration is not so often experienced. Thank you Christian and the Nazionale staff. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to you.
This hotel was well located in the main shopping and restaurant areas, and is also very close to the Casino. The hotel lobby staff were extremely polite and our rooms, although a little outdated, were very comfortable indeed. We had a fantastic evening meal in the hotel restaurant downstairs, and enjoyed being seated outside under the balmy Mediterranean night sky. Really lovely hotel
Situated near the Casino and on the main walking street, the hotel is made with lots of taste. We`ve stayed couple of nights there and were welcomed by very friendly and helpful stuff. The lobby is very nice and the restaurant downstairs is just great. The rooms are spacious and clean, but need to be renovated. Everything is a bit worn out, but this is not that bad, as the hotel is very good located, clean and nice. Our dissapointment was the breakfast. It was simply awful. The choice of the buffet is very poor. The croissants tasted like several days old, the eggs - over boiled, there was a juice, which tasted as the cheapest possible dissolved juice... there were no fruits at all and no vegetables as well... even the capuchino was not that good (a person would think, that`s impossible in Italy). We suggest, that if you normally pay good attention to the breakfast, it would be better to choose a different place for your stay.
Such a good experience, thank you very much! So nice hotel, everything was just perfect! We got an upgrade from superior rooms to junior sweet so we were very delighted. The premises are in such good condition, room are in Mediterranean colors, the bed was so wide and very comfy, enough pillows, blankets, towels. The room service was very good. Hotel is just couple of steps from the sea front on the pedestrian street with all that shopping, wining and dining.
The Best Western Hotel Nazionale is situated in a convenient location, within walking distance to shopping, the old town, the beach, eating establishments, and the casino. The hotel is clean and secure, with comfortable beds and comfortable pillows. However, the bath tub is extremely deep, making getting into and out of it to shower very dangerous. The desk staff is efficient and helpful. The breakfast buffet included a variety of good quality fresh food, which guests may eat on the outdoor terrace that is located on the roof of the hotel. Both evenings, our dinner was included in the hotel restaurant. The generous portions of food were good. The first evening, the servers were attentive and efficient. Except for one male server on the second evening, the servers were apathetic and rude. For example, at our table of four females, a male server boldly told me, “give me that,” as he pointed his nose toward my plate. I responded by telling him that he could take the plate, to which he expressed disgust by intentionally tipping over a glass. Had the glass had anything in it, the contents would have splashed all over me.
Hotel location is perfect. Hotel has been renewed lately and offers an excellent stay if You come for business or You come for vacation. Hotel is locating on walking street but it is in corner of small city street in where You can easily park Your car. Cost is only 8 euros for 24 hours. Hotel has excellent restaurant in the 7th floor in where You can have beautiful view to sea and to city. We recommend You to have evening view and enjoy excellent kitchen at the same time.
The hotel was excellent the rooms were spacious and well equipped would stay there again the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was not to be missed good selection, the barman Francesco looked after us well and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent restaurant serving some of the best food we have had in Italy. Hope to revisit again.
Very well located next door to the casino close to the restaurants, bars and shops. Great service by all the staff. This has to be the cleanest hotel I've stayed in in many a year. Lovely big room and a comfy bed, still firm but not like the usual rock hard Italian beds. Breakfast on roof terrace is great as is the rooftop sunbathing area. There is also access to a private beach area over the road. Valet parking in secure garage for €18 a day. Very popular bar and restaurant areas. Not a quaint or characterful hotel but very well run, clean and comfortable base to explore the area.
