Where do I begin! The online photos of the hotel were nice average comfortable looking until me and my daughter got there it did not look the same it was very uncomfortable it felt like it was in a bad part of town it's smelled in the room you can tell the room service attempted to make it look nice but I just was not feeling it the bathroom is tiny dirty looking the blankets smelled and as soon as you open your door it's the outside of the building so that doesn't feel safe either long story short I checked out two hours after arriving I brought my key to the front desk spoke with the woman that worked there explained everything I was told I would have to pay for that day unfortunately but I booked the room for two days I never received a refund I've been emailing bestwesternhotels.com and I'm being told that the person that worked there never put that I left early I know they have cameras and they can go back and look and see when I left when I handed the keycard,that's terrible customer service,we drove there from New York we were very tired and just wanted to have a nice place to stay and now I'm being ripped off and I can't get a refund and I didn't even stay there for more than two hours and I'm being charged for two full days that's terrible to do to a customer! I've tried getting help and it's impossible!

False advertisement The rooms were terrible smell like mildew my daughters room the bed spreads and everything had to be changed the sink wasn't working bathroom was dirty overall but they were advertising on their website the hotel website is not what we received breakfast was terrible

Sorry your stay wasn't so pleasant. You have two rooms and stayed for a couple of days. We didn't hear about any issues until after you left. Problems and issues should be addressed so we could fix the issue or problem. We can't fix issues if we are unaware. Sorry for any inconvenience.

This hotel is independently owned and as such chooses not to follow Best Western policies. No late check out unless you pay $25/hour. No welcome gift or acknowledgment to be a rewards member. Disappointing breakfast. Stay at the La Quinta a couple miles down the road.

"Don't bother"

I don't know if it was just this best western or all best westerns but I don't think I'll be staying at a BW again after this. We got there after a long day of softball and just wanted to check in to go to sleep. We had to wait 20 minutes before someone showed back up to the desk to help us. *Also at check in you have to make a $100 deposit that if you do on a debit card, it takes 30 days to get back to you. That's way too long.* •The room was eh, bed and shower were eh. •WORST part… the flashing street lights outside the room. It was AWFUL. Even with the blackout shade closed the light was still getting in and I was miserable for 2 hours trying to get to sleep. If my bf wasn't already sleeping, I would have packed up and left. •Breakfast stunk. It opens at 7am on Sunday and by 730 everything was gone except for yogurt and 6 bagels. 25 people were standing around waiting and waiting for more food to come out. Overall for the $250 I paid, it was a terrible stay. Absolute 100% not worth it.

I do apologize for any inconvenience. The deposit is something that is hotel policy in which most hotels in this area do ask for. It only takes 30 days for some cards that doesn't have a bank. Most cases it takes 7 to 10 business days. I do apologize for the miscommunication. It was extremely business this weekend, so I apologize for your wait.

Avoid this facility! It is poorly maintained and feels unsafe. Huge metal gate around the parking lot. Hard beds and poor air quality in rooms. Spent $200 for one night and falsely assumed the room would be clean.

the parking lot was gated, that alone gave bad feelings. I looked around my room and saw dead bugs, the whole room smelled of mold. I sat on the bed to take a zoom meeting and my pants were we when i got up. I ended up cancelling my reservation.

do not let anything they will steel it and then try to lie about it i had expensive suit left called 3 hrs. after cking out they told my freind that had not left yet that it was not in the room and no one was in the room but house cleaning also rates were much lower after leaving

Very dissatisfied with our stay 17-20 June 2022 at this location. Breakfast is basically not existent unless you get there as it immediately starts. Coffee machine did not work during my stay. Went to breakfast each morning during middle timeframe of breakfast hours and no food available and a mess. Have to request room cleaning services, replacement towels were not cleaned (wet, damp, and smelled weird). Very noisy. Charged a ridiculous price each night for the service noted above.

The place is ok just when I checked in the fees changed i asked can I get the difference was questioned and had to re-book to prove cause they didn't believe also sheets had blood on them no lotion in room and staff was very defensive and nasty nice( supervisor )was very one sided and didn't believe prices or blood on sheets

We are seniors and requested ground floor. Upon checking in, we were told ground floor rooms are not avail, although I saw many unoccupied ground floor rooms. If I had known there is no elevator I wouldn't have selected this hotel. I didn't read anything in the hotel description indicating there is no elevator. The first room they gave us, stunk badly of cigarette smoke. The second room was better but lacked trash cans which we had to ask for. The staff was so-so, but didn't quite understand when we had asked for change for the laundry andinstead took us to the soda vending machines. I gave 2 stars out of five because breakfast was decent and fruits were fresh.

"Not bad for the noney"

We wanted to stay some where cheap for the night while traveling from Florida to Massachusetts. This place was great for that. It was cheap but clean and quite. No problems or complaints. Breakfast wasn't the healthiest food, but the waffles tasted great.

I gave this 2 stars out of 5 because the room was clean. The behavior of the staff is questionable. We made our reservations through Priceline & paid with credit card. When we checked in at 11:00 pm, we were told we needed to give the motel a 100.00 deposit that would be returned if there was no damage to the room. We were not given a receipt for that. I'm thinking the front desk staff needs customer service training. I have stayed at a lot of places & this was the first time I've had to leave a deposit. The next morning after trying the broken tv (problem turned out to be with the remote) & trying to call the front desk from the broken phone, I went to the lobby to make sure they knew we weren't the problem. When I got to the front desk - there were 3 other people waiting and no front desk staff. We were there 20 minutes without anybody at the front desk. Very weird. 2 people were there for key card problems and a 3rd person was trying to check in. Finally a housekeeper walked through and jumped in to try to be helpful. When we checked out there was nothing on the receipt about the 100.00 deposit. We are following up on that but I have no desire to stay here again. I did not feel like anyone was interested in return business.

Fairly clean and comfortable. Not crazy about the fact that there are residents living there full time. Seemed a bit trashy. It served it's purpose as a home base while visiting my son at school. Breakfast was meh.

Corporate should train staff regarding America Disability Act… Room was not ready at checkin time 5pm Unhappy with Customer Service.. lacking in People skills Room smelled like bleach but was dirty. Will not recommend or stay at this Best Western in Salisbury Maryland

Was cautious at first because of past reviews but hotel room was spotless and so was breakfast and lobby areas. Laundry room was very clean with updated appliances. Staff was very pleasant. Area is convenient to restaurants and gas and traffic was not difficult. Location is on main road. Would definitely recommend this fir travelers

Although i grew up in this area and passed this hotel, and its predecessors, many times over the past nearly 50 years, I never had an opportunity to stay here. We booked a 4-night stay to attend to my mother's burial and estate affairs. To say the least, I was pleasantly surprised! Don't know why, exactly. The lobby was very inviting and clean. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and responsive. The maintenance guys fixed our door latch when I brought it to their attention while they were readying for another job. Our room with 2 double beds was clean, smelled fresh, and had the usual amenities: fridge, microwave, TV, WiFi, iron, blow dryer, and coffee. The bathroom was also clean. Our daughter and her son got their own room after the first night (!!) and our 2 sons flew in and stayed one night. My brother and his wife had their room for 4 nights, also. All were pleased with their rooms, too. The only "down" side: their laundry soap dispenser in the laundry room was out of order. But, we were given laundry soap at the front desk. Continental breakfast was adequate, nothing really fancy, but functional. Breakfast and eating areas were well-maintained and very clean. Plenty of shopping and eating all around. We'd definitely stay here, again.

This hotel is adequate for a one night stay but I would not choose to be here for a long time. The rooms have been updated, however they feel dark and old. The staff was courteous and kind. There is no luxury in the rooms, but it was sufficient for our one night stay for business up the road. Outdoor entrance and no elevator to the second floor. We did not mind but if stairs with luggage is a problem you should know this. The parking is secured by a gate you access with your room key. This is nice, but created a feeling that the area was unsafe to others I traveled with. Overall my stay there was satisfactory.

It would be more accurate to call this a "motel". The place was OK. It has one of those AC units that runs constantly. I was there for Salisbury University homecoming weekend and i am sure they jacked the prices up. It was definitely not worth what I paid. If it was a better price I probably would have been more satisfied.

The staff but 2 were disrespectful and cocky!! Didn't honor a single reward benifit the entire time. Charged me over $500 for 3 night!!! 2 nights in one day!! Manager tells me “ my employee shouldn't have charged you for a whole extra day” but yet unwilling to refund a penny I had paid cause “ you signed the receipt and paid it “ Worst best western outta 30+ I've stayed in in past year.

Stayed in Salisbury for a more affordable hotel than Ocean City. Even though it's about 30 miles away it's worth the drive in what you save in hotel prices. Best Western usually provides the level of service we prefer and this one is no exception. Clean room, halls and lobby. The grounds are maintained. Staff is courteous and professional, plenty of parking. No complaints, we'd definitely stay here agian.

This hotel is fair. I wouldn't rate it as good or great. If you are just looking for a place to rest your head and not looking for a hotel that will impress you, then this is your place. However the price for the room was $222/night not at all worth it. In addition to the $100 hold, this price is astronomical for the quality that you are getting. It's more like an environment of a motel not hotel. (And it was a little noisy too).

I had a reservation to stay one night. We arrived and could barely get into the parking lot because of all the cars who were awaiting access through the giant gates and fencing after check-in. Once I was able to enter the lobby to check in I could see it was dirty and unkempt right from the first impression and had a bad feeling. There were “security” gates that you needed a code for to access the parking lot. Once inside the parking lot there were people hanging out in the lot with open bottles of alcohol being very loud. Upon entering the room the wallpaper was falling off the wall in the bathroom, the curtains were stained, and it was dark, damp, and smelled musty. The room was on the first floor with no interior corridor. It was scary to think we would be sleeping there with all kinds of people drinking in the parking lot. Not my kind of place! I immediately made my way back to the lobby and told them I was not comfortable and wanted my money back. The clerk at the front desk asked why and I said because the lobby and room were dirty and in disrepair and she said, well, after all, this isn't a five-star hotel…It's only two stars, to which I replied that doesn't mean it has to be dirty or in disrepair! I also told her I wasn't comfortable with people drinking in the parking lot and being loud and she said they had no control over that. Ultimately, they reversed my charge and took off the $100 hold on my card for “possible damages.”

Worse dump we have ever stayed in. Entrance door stuck(hard to open), chain on door broken, you needed that, the whole place had a security fence around it which we did not know about. HV/AC unit was very noisy, bath room door did not close (door to big for the frame), no water pressure, very noisy guest, they cater to contractors. They have the nerve to charge a $100.00 security deposit incase we broke something or stole towels. Our second day we had to beg for clean towels.

Overall great experience! Front desk staff were very efficient and friendly. Property was quiet and safe. Liked the gate they had to get into the property to help keep people who aren't supposed to be at the hotel out. Normally I don't like staying at hotels with exterior hallways for that reason but the fence and gate gave me peace of mind. Keep up the great work!

I've stayed at many different BW locations and have loved each one. I stayed one night at this location and that was enough for me. The bathroom door did not close (unable to shower and could not use toilet in private), what appeared to be grease stains on pillows, and hair inside the comforter. Issues reported to hotel manager and the response was: Well the water worked, so why couldn't you shower?...Unacceptable response. Hotel has more of a motel feel. Do research before booking.

Clean, but poorly maintained. Poor, slow wifi that generally was not available. Bathroom door in our room did not close because it was blocked by the toilet. Electric outlet by coffee maker did not function, shower plumbing faulty -- warm water but no temperature adjustment. Knob for towels falling off wall. Sheets were clean, but threadbare. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again if I wanted to save some money. At least it was clean.

Only stay here if it's your last option. Hotel room reeked of cigarettes. There was ash all over everything. Toilet paper was not changed before my visit. A dirty towel was left in the bathroom from the previous guest. There was mold all over the shower curtain. The floors were dirty and so was the desk. Hotel staff was not friendly and they ran out of breakfast for guests.

This spot is a good one night stay. BUYER BEWARE. If booking via online or especially by phone, when you arrive at check-in, you are being charged on top of what was quoted for another $100 for some sort of deposit. NOT transparent at all. This should have been discussed in the price at the beginning.

Stayed overnight en route to the OBX. This place was filthy, dark, smelly and decrepit. You have to park in a gated lot which speaks to the safety of the town. The door to the bathroom doesn't close. The smoke alarm goes off when you use the blow dryer. The breakfast was slim pickings. NEVER AGAIN! What a ripoff!!

Check in took forever. There was about 6 workers in the desk area and only 1 was helping customers. The rooms smelled like chlorine. The pool “failed inspection” so was out of order. The shower didn't have any hot water. For the price of this hotel I expected much much better than I received.

While the staff at this place was kind and tried to accommodate our needs, I have to give a 1 star review. The place is barricaded behind gates which are difficult to open with key from car window. The rooms smelled as if a spray was covering up bad odors. Close quarters in room; very tight-when sofa bed was open one could not climb out of bed on that side. Appropriate linens were not available upon arrival-staff were especially helpful to deliver towels and sheets for sofa after we asked. Breakfast was reasonable yet warm food items not hot. Took a day to discover book with WiFi password. No paperwork unless requested-maybe a covid thing. I'm hoping corporate will refund a portion of my 2 night stay since we primarily booked this hotel for the amenity of a pool. Outrageous to spend the amount I did for what we have decided is the “worst western” on the Easter shore. We should have been informed about the pool upon arrival instead of hearing from another customer that it was closed. It is in a convenient location with shopping, restaurants, gas, big box stores, fast food etc about 2 miles away.

Definitely illegal drug activity happening at this location. Staff is rude and unprofessional. Breakfast service was far below even a value hotels standards. The rooms are disgusting to say the least!

"Rude Staff. Pubic hair in Towels"

My pregnant significant other went to take a shower, afterwords she grabbed a towel and it was covered in pubic hair. They both had pubic hair on them so she had to dry herself with her clothes. Staff was extremely rude and hung up on us when we were asking for help with our room key. I went to lobby to speak with the employee and she kept yelling at me and cutting me off and being absolutely ignorant with me. For paying over $364 for two nights this is not the service you expect. If you don't like your job, get another one and save your nasty attitude for your household. Unbelievable

Unfriendly, unprofessional, and uncaring hotel staff. Rooms are Overpriced for such an outdated, antiquated hotel. There was minimal effort to provide any comfort. Breakfast was disappointing. Spend your money elsewhere!

This hotel is in an industrial part of town. A security gate surrounds the property which is accessed by your room key. It's a two story building with outside access only. There is no elevator to the second floor. The walkway to the stairs was dimly lit and had a flipped over unglued carpet which presented a walking hazard. I thought it might be a good economical choice for a one night stay because I read the rooms were remodeled. They were updated but the result was cheap and dingy. The faucet was broken and the TV had a ‘noisy' picture like the cable wasn't working correctly. We were too travel weary to request another room. It's not what I expected from the BW brand.

Dirty Rooms. Poor customer service. No parking lot until after you check in- cars pile up in front of lobby entrance. The wait time to check in took about 20 minutes between each customer. Not enough staff.

"Nice renovated Hotel"

Great and nice people all through my stay. I intends to stay here again when next I visit. The compound is very clean, safe because of the gated environment. No worry of intruder entering the place. Room is newly painted, clean toilet, neat bathroom as well. Great job, please keep up the good works.

10/10. Excellent place to stay while I was in Salisbury, Maryland. Will return to this place and will recommend to others. They are doing great renovation at the hotel. Quite different compared to my last visit in 2018 year.

"Dirty, smelly, noisy “hotel”...just terrible."

Read the reviews, it's all true, I took pictures and videos, this place is really bad. Room is outdated with the paint peeling off, carpet and floors were sticky, it smelled moldy. Light switches doesn't work and are black from so much dirt. Door handle and fridge had fingerprints all over with skin oil on them, they haven't been wiped clean in a long time. Clogged sink, shower head was white, black and green, very nasty. Sink area was dirty, mirror frame was all ugly with tons of paint over it. Bread was very noisy and hard. You could hear people talking outside as if they were inside the room. My infant daughter woke up continuously. Everything felt very dirty. The staff wasn't friendly and they weren't welcoming for me to express my concerns.

The first time I stayed in this hotel was 3 years ago. There has been a remarkable transformation of this facility since the new management took over. The services and quality of the rooms are impressive. The overall ambience is inviting. I'd definitely be returning there in my subsequent visits.

The hotel is being remodel and so worth it. The new upgrades are excellent. The new floors are really nice. Some staff changes and some are better. I would recommend this hotel to lots of coworkers and family.

"Misleading “Contract”"

I was the ONLY customer that was checking in late at night by the manager herself yet I still wasn't told the “proper rules” of the smoke room that I bought or told any rules at all after confirming with her “I did purchase a smoke room right” she said yes and to sign my initials in 5 different spaces and my signature at the bottom of 1 piece of paper which NEVER said anything about being fined for smoking marijuana because the whole situation could've been avoided had it been told to me the same way every guest should be warned and told about the rules. Now a $94 ONE night stay turned into a $444 stay because they charged my card for something I legally have the right to smoke. Maryland is a state that marijuana is legal to smoke in and obtain. I stay at the Best Western in Maryland and other states ALL the time never has this ever happened to me at any location. Furthermore I'm disappointed and upset that I was mislead and not told so this could be avoided.

The room was dark, dirty, mattress was old stained, smelled of musty mold. Staff highly unprofessional here. There is no manager named Kelly. The lady at the front desk is the manager and she is not management material at all. She will give you the run around with asking you to email your complaints to Kelly ( who doesn't exist). Please find ANOTHER hotel. This hotel needs to be shut down. Read the contract attached....they do shady business here. I don't even trust them having my bank card number.

i had reserved a room and the air conditioner was broken and never fixed it and the maid service never cleaned the room or picked up the garbage the worst experience ever it had a funky smell and the lights were very dim.

I know I can save ya a ton of money by my travels. Staff is rude and very nasty. Beds are VERY Uncomfortable and they have roaches.. Washer broke on us while using it they didn't even offer to help us dryer broke too .. I was looked at funny for hanging out my blankets but what was I to do? If looks could kill here.. God help me and my children., okay now to say something nice after the abuse we endured here.. Nicest thing about this place is housekeeping they are very nice everyone else is RUDE, sad to say but you can get a better bed at Econo or Quality Inn and hospitality. I will NEVER stay here again after my trip ends here..

We stayed at the Best Western over the weekend for a baseball tournament in Salisbury. The room smelled musty. It felt dark and outdated. The bathroom was very small and did not have fan/vent. The beds were not comfortable. If you need to stay locally in Salisbury, I highly recommend you stay elsewhere. Last comment, the room was over priced...$139 a night is not commensurate with the accommodations.

I had a reservation. Upon checking in at the front desk I was told that I needed to access my room from the exterior of the building; through the parking lot. I was given a room in the very back of the second building near the dumpsters. It was dark,late and scary. Because I was concerned for my own personal safety, I went back in to the check in area and asked if they had a room that I could access through the interior of the hotel. I was told no. I was not comfortable staying in the exterior room I was given. The hotel, specifically the manager Kelly, is instructing Agoda, the booking agency, not to give me a refund. Very poor customer service, as I was there to check in and spend the night. Sadly the staff assigned to interact with the customers do not seem to be trained to be accommodating when it comes to valid reasons for canceling a reservation...concerns for safety and security being one of them. I, for one, would have thought in a time of a global crisis, companies would try even harder to accommodate clients...I remain shocked and frustrated. I will not ever stay at a Best Western again after contacting the corporate office and being told they would not intervene on my behalf...my conversation with them was useless! As a franchisor, I would not allow a franchisee to soil my organization's reputation without trying to help resolve the dispute.

Both room and grounds were disgustingly filthy, coffeemaker was broken, alarm clock set to wrong time zone, old food behind refrigerator, switchplates at bathroom and sink were covered in crud, there was something smeared on drapes and bedskirt, and black gunk over room door.

The first thing I said to my husband was “this is gross”. Looks like something out of an XXX rated movie . We went to dinner and I told him I really didn't want to go back to the room. He had to pay cash for water couldn't put it in the room. FILTHY PARKING LOT FULL OF GOOSE POOP!! Pet friendly but I couldn't walk my dog but in a small spot because of all the poop.

Outside carpeting glued to cement walkways are unsightly and gives the appearance of this hotel being trashy because of the horrible trim and placement of the carpet by the contractor. Areas where the carpet has buckled found to be a safety issue as I tripped over an unexpected bump. Room had no chair to use at computer table. Had to resort to using foot stool which didn't provide any back support. In room coffee maker still had used coffee filter left by the previous guest. Bathroom door could not close as the toilet obstructed it. Behind the bathroom door on the bathroom wall was what appeared to be dry blood. Shower had no soap holder/shelf. No internet access. Gentleman who attended office during day hours displayed visible disgruntlement in having to reset key card. Breakfast experience was horrible as stale biscuits were served with no gravy. Donuts and pastries were stale as well. Poor choice of offering only being scrambled eggs, 10 minute waffles, cereal, and stale pastries. Bananas present but no other fruits. Breakfast area in general is way too small as the space is easily overcrowded as well as the dining area. Room had a working microwave, refrigerator, shower, TV, and USB power ports. Bed was clean.

My Liberian family ,friends and I were approached by a racist owner! He 1st asked were we guest to the hotel then stated the microwave we used was for commercial breakfast use only. Not personal use. He later acknowledged that there was no sign posted saying this, he stated it is automatically assumed that it's not for personal use. He walked to the front lobby door saying it's "smelly and stinky in here!" He propped open the lobby front doors and then came back spraying air fresher!!! I was highly offended. He stated that especially "fish that stinks!". I told him that I have been in upscale hotels and was able to eat my own food in the lobby even, warm it up in the microwave if I chose to. He stated that he's never heard of that, that it's common knowledge to ask can the food be warmed up in the microwave. My family and friends were very UPSET over this. Where is his cultural sensitivity?? He is the owner so he freely speaks his mind feeling who will I report him too. THE OWNERS OF THIS LOCATION ARE GAUR LILA,LLC...beware!!!

We simply advised you that the breakfast kitchen and appliances were for commercial use only due to Wicomico County Health Department regulations. The breakfast attendant opened the doors and applied of odor neutralizing spray due to odor complaints from other guests. None of the other exchanges you mention took place. This is a nice hotel with a great staff that goes out of their ways to help you. I had a good stay in town and was able to drive only half an hour to get to the beach I would say it's worth it if you can get the planning done for beach visit

My ipad was stolen from my room by someone who they were paying under the table cash to clean rooms. This was all found out by a police investigation. All they did was comp me for half of my last nights stay!!! Knowing and admitting they let a criminal into my room!!! The manager was not sympathetic at all, he had an attitude like the hotel wasnt at fault at all. Not to mention the criminal went in my room to put towels in which i had to ask for 5 times. Barely had toilet paper all week. Something that looked like puke was on my box spring which i also had to call them to clean. This place is garbage. Barely anything left at breakfast every morning. The police were going to continue with the investigation but sadly i cant make it back to maryland for court dates. Get this, i didnt even have to call the police to file a report. They were already there on another call so i just asked them! Stay away from this hell hole!!

We do not pay anyone under the table, and the police met with us and confirmed that they could find no evidence that any employee or individual at the hotel stole an iPad. Your claim that the police investigation found this has no basis. We have never nor would we ever let a criminal enter any guest room. We fully stock all guest rooms with daily housekeeping service and found no record on our housekeeping sheets of your room lacking anything. Breakfast is always staffed by 1-3 breakfast attendants who keep the breakfast replenished. We had no guests with such complaints during the time you were with us. We regret your attempts to malign our property due to our inability to process a full refund for a wholly unsubstantiated claim.

Our chief engineer found no AC problems in your room. What you describe may have been slight condensation, but we see no evidence of a leak or water draining on the floor. Our pool is crystal clear and blue -- if we had a green pool, we would not be allowed to operate. We have frequent inspections and maintain high standards of pool sanitation and records evidencing this. It is impossible for the scrambled eggs to have shells, as they come from our vendor with just the scramble, no shells. We have never witnessed nor received a complaint of shells. All breakfast is maintained at a hot temperature with industry standard equipment, and we have not received any other complaints of hot foods being cold. We serve an array of both hot items (hot oatmeal, eggs, waffles) and cold items.

From the moment I entered the facility was the beginning of a NIGHTMARE. The front desk receptionist had no personality and could care less that I was getting ready to put money into their "hotel" (not anything I'd call hotel though). Below are the list of issues: * 70's/80's decor * rubber mats line the sidewalks. They should remove them and clean up the concrete and place something more attractive that allows for traction. * No inside passage to rooms, everything is accessed from the exterior. * The breakfast area, is an F for health score. The breakfast; eggs were dirty looking and undercooked, and a lack of options. * There was a fly issue in the rooms. * most likely due to the swamp (they don't let you know about) of stagnant water full of disgusting garbage with animal feces along the entirety of the swamp. * Large gap in the door when it's closed. * Carpets and rooms were very musty and dirty * Only way to survive the smell was to blast the A/C (at least that worked) * Laundry services (WHAT A JOKE), they say there is change at the desk, however they don't have change for the washer and dryer. They actually sent me to the slums down the road to use the laundrymat. That was just as bad and sketchy!!! However, after washing the clothes there, the dryer at $2 in coins so we decided to go to the hotel and add coins into their dryer at $2 a load, would you believe, I dried the clothes twice and they still weren't dry. So for $4 I didn't even have dry clothes. So we had to use our hair dryer to dry them and set the clothes outside in the sun to dry them. * The laundry facilities were dirty and the door into the laundry was broken with a gaping whole where a handle should be. * The microwave in the room was from the 80's at least, it worked, but you couldn't put anything big like a TV dinner in it because it was TOO small. * I went to use the ironing board and that would stay up because it was broken. * The lighting in the room was super dim and if you didn't keep the curtains open you couldn't see anything. That is what they do to help reduce you from seeing the lack of cleanliness to the rooms. * We asked for towels and multiple rooms couldn't get towels because they didn't have enough and had to wash them before they could hand them out. (YOU'RE A HOTEL HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE ENOUGH TOWELS FOR YOUR GUESTS?????) * I heard a receptionist tell a guest that dogs are not allowed unless they are service dogs. It was designed by a professional team of designers who surpass industry standards of design. This can be evidenced by our photos and schematic designs, which can be provided to you if you desire. 2. We do not have rubber mats at all. We have an innovative and modern new flooring, Takiron Pathways, lining our exterior corridors. It is a safe, slip-resistant surface that stands up to heavy foot traffic, rumbling carts and even motorized indoor vehicles. Takiron Pathways' rich texture delivers excellent traction, but is also supple enough for bare feet. We have received nothing but compliments on the new flooring. 3. We are an exterior corridor property and do not claim to be interior corridor. We have an updated exterior facade along with enclosed stairways, walls, and tall flower beds to provide a more enclosed experience. 4. We provide a variety of hot and cold options for our breakfast, including hot waffles, scrambled eggs, build your own oatmeal station, build your own yogurt station, a variety of danishes, cereals, breads, bagels, and condiments, and much more. Our eggs are heated accurately (they are precooked) and come from a well-reputed vendor that serves thousands of other properties. 5. As we are an exterior corridor property, we cannot prevent flies from entering the room when the door is opened. We have not received other complaints of this problem, but it can be prevented by allowing the door to remain closed. There is no swamp or dirty body of water. There is a retention pond shared with neighboring businesses, which is cleaned weekly and is well-maintained. 6. We did not notice any gap or smell upon inspecting your room. The carpets are new and are regularly shampooed to maintain cleanliness. 7. Guests receive change and use our laundry facilities on a daily basis and we have never received a complaint with our guest laundry facilities. They have been inspected and are working well. 8. We have new microwaves, and they are industry standard sizes. We do not have any undersized or old microwaves (or anything else). 9. Had you told us about problems with you ironing board, we would have gladly replaced it for you. 10. The rooms have a new lighting package that was selected by our design team. While the color scheme does have darker elements in addition to brighter ones, the room is not dark or dimly lit. 11. Had you asked us to bring you towels, housekeeping would gladly have done so. What the housekeeper was attempting to explain was that we needed to wash your used towels so that we could bring you new ones. 12. We have never told anyone that dogs are not allowed. We are pet-friendly, but we have designated pet friendly rooms. Not every room is pet friendly.

We were charged over 500 dollars. Tried to get the problem resolved the cops were called. They kicked us out of the hotel and refused to check us out. Jody Edith and kelly are rude. Corporate sucks too.

This place is no good. The room smelled like body odor, sheets were dirty, the pool area dirty and pool chairs were filthy. The pool towels had black stains on them. The are was food. There were a lot of stores and restaurants. I will never stay here again.

Was happy to hit the beach this summer with some friends. It was busy but lots of fun. It was great to find an affordable (relatively) place that was easy to find in a great place and clean. The front desk was helpful and the housekeeping girl was really accommodating.

We recently stayed at this hotel for my daughter was playing in Nationals in Maryland. The hotel rooms were disgusting, we found bed bugs in the mattresses, holes in the walls. Stains on the mattresses. Food was left on the floor. Hair in the showers, they looked liked they didn't clean them. The hot breakfast was not even what they claim they offer. We are a family of six and we needed the breakfast for our children as we were leaving early in the morning for games. We were supposed to stay 5 days but could not allow our young children to be in this hotel another day. We checked out early. The manager refused to speak with myself or my husband. We asked for a receipt since we were leaving earlier then expected. They told us that they could not provide one for me. I found that very strange that they couldn't give me a receipt. They are charging us for 3 nights and again they won't even speak to us about any kind of reimbursement. The website doesn't state anything about the cancellation policy, the reservation paper I received doesn't say anything and they couldn't provide me with any documentation stating the 3 night minimum. And because this was Nationals they charged us $195.00 per night and the average room rate is not even $100.00. Don't waste your time here.......stay at a Hampton they are more then accommodating for everything.

The final night of your stay had not yet been applied to your reservation, which is why we offered to email your receipt to you once it had generated. Your claims are unfortunately inaccurate. The hotel is newly updated -- with brand new furnishings and case goods along with an updated, modern exterior. We have no bed bugs, and there was no food, hair, holes, or other deficiencies found in the rooms that you occupied. We will publicly post the pest management reports that we maintain on every room to prove that our rooms are free of beg bugs (and all other infestations). This was also verified by another member of your group. We offer a hot continental breakfast buffet with fresh waffles, hot eggs, build your own oatmeal and yogurt parfait stations, a variety of breads and danishes, cereals, condiments, beverages, and much more. Our fresh coffee is 100% arabica and comes from a local favorite. We were not missing any items from our spread while you were here, and we even offered to extend breakfast times to accommodate your game schedule. We also provided a registration (contract) to Best Western corporate (to share with you) with your signature confirming that you agreed to the minimum length of stay. We waived the last three days without penalty even though you signed, agreeing to pay for the duration of the stay. We have regular quality assurance inspections from the health department, local agencies, and from Best Western corporate, and we have always been far in excess of the required thresholds. We are a family-friendly property and proudly host teams year-round for our area's sports events who are happy with their stays (and return year after year). We stand by the quality and safety of our property.

Let me get the pro out of the way- awesome location... check in was a breeze.. parking was great. So so so disappointed. I've stayed at so many different Best Western hotels, but never ever stayed at a ragely hotel that cost me $200 per night. Red flag- the front desk Lady entire uniform was bad... We got the key, get to the room, opened the rusty door and a bad smell hit you right in the face. The smell was so bad. We had to go the Walmart for smell goods and carpet fresheners The whole room was dated except for the phone. Best Western is known for their luxury rooms and experience. I was completely shocked that I am actually writing this review. I will definitely pay attention to the reviews the next time. The fact that... I've stayed at Best Western in Lancaster PA, New Orleans, and New York all at a very reasonable price... how do you charge more at the most outdated hotel?

It was great to be at this hotel and spend good time at the pool and barbeque at the back by the pond. The front desk was super kind and thoughtful and the breakfast was just enough for us. The rooms were kept up really well and we are looking forward to returning.

Pictures displayed look nothing like the actual rooms, and the pictures can't possibly describe the moldy smell!!! This hotel was recommended by USSSA softball for a week long tournament. The rates we were charged were higher than what was listed online. The hotel has not been updated in forever. The air conditioners are so moldy- you can see the mold and SMELL the mold. The air conditioner in our room was set at 61 degrees all week, and we would wake up sweating. The pool had foamy stuff floating on it, and the water was cloudy. The continental breakfast offered was horrible! The coffee was so watered down and full of grinds. The maid service was just as subpar. One morning, all they did was provide new towels, our beds were not made and room was not cleaned. The ONLY reason we stayed was because we didn't want to split up the team and the families, although everyone in group shared the same opinion. Shame on Best Western for even keeping this hotel location open when it cant possibly pass the health inspection!!!! My next complaint will be to USSSA organization for using the hotel location as an option for softball families.

We regret your unfortunate and inaccurate assessment of our property. The rates for the event were lower than our best available rate published through our online channels. The hotel is newly updated -- with brand new furnishings and case goods along with an updated, modern exterior. We found no mold in the PTAC units, and the pool is regularly cleaned and vacuumed. When guests spend an extended amount of time in the pool, sun block can cause a deposit on the pool's surface. While the pool chemistry is always kept within optimum levels and is not cloudy, we cannot clean the pool surface until there are no more bathers in the pool. We offer a hot continental breakfast buffet with fresh waffles, hot eggs, build your own oatmeal and yogurt parfait stations, a variety of breads and danishes, cereals, condiments, beverages, and much more. Our fresh coffee is 100% arabica and comes from a local favorite. The rooms are serviced on a daily basis unless there is a do not disturb sign. We have regular inspections from the health department, local agencies, and from Best Western corporate, and we have always been far in excess of the required thresholds. We are a family-friendly property and proudly host teams year-round for our area's sports events who are happy with their stays (and return year after year). We stand by the quality and safety of our property.

The place was awful. We had group of 12 and13 year old girls there for a softball tournament. It was a disgrace that the property would allow young girls to stay in a place like that. They should have told the tournament folks that this was not a place for young girls. And by the way, we ckecked out on the 24th not the 25th but the lady at the desk wouldn't give us a receipt.

This property is well maintained. It was easy to stay connected for me I was able to work productively. The room was clean and the pool area was awesome. The charges were a little high but in the summer we expect that near the beach. Would be happy to come back next year!

The hotel room would have been fine if half the outlets and lights worked, I also had an issue with the shower not wanting to engage. So the room left us a little disappointed right from the get-go. We then decided to use the pool, which seemed a little dirty; there were a few leaves on the bottom, and I saw a few tiny insects floating on the top of the water. I wasn't sure when the last time the water was skimmed. All of this cost us over $250 for one night. When I asked why the rate was so high, it was because of some softball team that was in town, that nobody has ever heard of. That seemed hardly a good reason to jack the price up, when online their rooms are listed at as low as $89/night. There was also an issue with my bill when I checked my credit card statement after checking out. I was charged an extra $50 than what was on my statement. When I called the front desk, the lady was not trained to handle that kind of matter, and told me that I would have to wait until the next day to speak with the owner. I find it hard to believe that there is only one person in the entire hotel that is equipped to handle matters like this. Also, the food they offered for breakfast was sub-par at best. The food was edible, but not very tasty. Overall, I was highly disappointed with my stay. I won't be staying here again, and I will encourage anyone who is considering staying here, to consider other options.

We regret your unfortunate assessment of our property. Had you told us of the problems you encountered, we would have gladly and promptly resolved them for you. Upon check out, your room was inspected and we found each outlet to be working and the shower to be in perfect working order. The pool is vacuumed daily, but because it is an outdoor pool, it is impossible for us to prevent a minimal amount of debris between cleanings, especially if pool is occupied. Our rates are controlled by a revenue management team that assesses market demand and establishes competitive pricing. We pride ourselves on rate parity and integrity and did not advertise an $89 price online while charging something else on property. Prices fluctuate on a daily basis, but they are maintained at the same level across all channels. The USSSA softball tournament is the World Series and is hosted by Wicomico County. Both demands and rates are higher during this time of year. The front desk agent with whom you spoke is still in training. Any front desk attendant or manager would be able to assist you with your bill if you call us at the property. The extra amount is an authorization for incidentals and dropped back onto your credit card at the time of check out. This is standard practice among all hotel chains.

The staff at this hotel are wonderful. They are doing renovations to improve the hotel even more but you really don't get interrupted during your stay. There is a free breakfast buffet in the morning which isn't the best but definitely enough to get your day started. We will definitely be staying at this property again when we are in the area.

Just needed a place to stop on our way to the beach. Arrived late, around midnight. Went to check out at 6:30 AM and the individual at the front desk told me their printer wasn't working and couldn't print a receipt. I suggested that he just e-mail it to me. He agreed, asked for my e-mail address, and looked to be typing on the keyboard. I stood there with my cell phone waiting to receive the e-mail and he seemed surprised that I was looking to view the e-mail before I left. He had to ask for my e-mail address again, which tells me he was just looking for me to leave and would have never sent me a receipt. Looking at my e-mail, I was shocked to see that my credit card was charged $404.37, that's for 1 night! I asked him why I was being charged so much, stating there must be a mistake. His response, " well it must be incidentals, you probably charged something to your room." At this point I was getting upset and said we were here a little over 6 hours, just enough time to get some sleep! He went over to another computer and claimed we were smoking in a nonsmoking room so we were charged an additional $250. I told him that's ridiculous as none of my family has ever smoked in our lives. I took him back to our room and he agreed that there were no signs of smoking in our room. He stated that they recently installed a new system that detects smoke, and that it must have made a mistake and that they are still working the bugs out of it. I asked him to credit the $250 back to my card, and he said he couldn't, only a manager could. He assured me that the manager would give me a call after 7:00 when he arrived (this was a Saturday morning). After 8:00 and no calls from the manager, so I called back. Now I get a response that the manager won't be in until Monday morning! At this point, I'm positive I was being scammed. In the meantime, I called Best Western's corporate office to file a complaint. Monday came and I still didn't receive a call from the manger. I called the motel that afternoon, and the manager answered the phone. Gave me some line of BS that their customer service individual was instructed to call me, but must have overlooked it. Now don't you think that if you "mistakenly" overcharged someone $250 that it would be a manager's top priority to make a 5 minute phone call to get it squared away! After 6 or 7 phone calls to the motel, BW corporate office and my credit card company, I was finally able to correct this mess. Definitely was a distraction to what was to be an enjoyable family trip to the beach.

This hotel is a complete DUMP. I do not know when the pictures were taken in the advertisement but the rooms do not look anything like what was shown. Our room was located on the 2nd floor and was one of the only rooms that was cleaned. It looks like the cleaning staff just up and quit - trash cans, cleaning carts, etc in the hallway leading to your room. The outside hallway and stairwell were so filthy. The room did not even come with standard size pillows and the chair for the desk was missing. We stayed long enough to make a reservation at the Hampton Inn.

A basic, clean room. This was an overnight stay on the way to the beach. Room was basic. Sort of small but adequate for our needs. Remote didn't work and TV was small. Front desk staff was pleasant. Breakfast in the morning was very basic. Would stay again for an overnight trip.

I wish we had washcloths so I wouldn't have had to trudge to the office in my pj's at 5am. I wish there had been a soap dish in the shower (what were we supposed to do, hold it in our teeth?) I wish there had been a coffee maker so I wouldn't have had to trudge to the office again. I wish the light at my bed side had worked so I could have read myself to sleep. But mostly, I wish I was 30 years younger so I could have made use of the sexy lingerie that a former guest left in one of the drawers.

Lobby floor was filthy, kitchen area wasn't any better. Wiped the floor and our wipe turned black. Trash under our bed from prior occupant and the floor didn't appear to be vacuumed in a few weeks. Check in time was 3:00 and both employees were out on the property and didn't return until 3:25. In addition, we had two beds, one was the shape of a “V” and the other was missing wheels so it was on a slant.

Just stayed overnight before taking a test at the nearby Pearson Vue center. Did not expect a lot of frills, just a reasonably comfortable and quiet place to sleep and this Best Western meets that. Front desk staff are nice and responsive- our room's key card reader had stopped working and the staff saw we were having trouble from the security cameras and came to help without us having to go get them.

Best price for a chain when SU is graduating the Thursday before Memorial Day. The service was exceptional, the hard product rather dismal. Rooms were poorly lit, wifi was weak, electric lock was dead on our door, we had to be moved to another room and our original room crowbarred into to get our stuff.

We have been members of Best Western for many years. Lately we have become disillusioned with our accommodations. Our room was recently partially renovated but the USB ports don't work even though there are a lot of them we couldn't charge anything. When we tried to get ice we went around the entire building to find out the ice machine was in another building and on the second floor. There wasn't a chair for the desk. As a 71 year old woman this is unacceptable. We are considering not using Best Western anymore as we are not happy with the quality of your product.

Very nice place but too much noise at night. There was a lot going on in the parking lot, music, talking and I was woke up a few times. Also breakfast setup was late too. Not at all happy with my stay! When I come back here next month I will be staying at another hotel.

Room so dirty! Plates and cups from previous guests under the beds, room not made the following morning. Employees extremely rude, specially the front desk lady on duty the morning of Sunday, February 10. Do not do virtual check out... you have to return the key cards or You will find the charges in your Credit card.

The room was spacious and clean and was a great price. I enjoyed the breakfast component but the food was not great. The decaf coffee wsa watery, as were the eggs and the oatmeal. I would have enjoyed some additional gluten free options, like rice cereal and gluten free waffle mix.

Cleanliness was completely lacking. I walked in and immediately called for the room to be vacuumed. That didn't happen. I dont think the room ever got vacuumed. Major dust! If you have breathing issues you can not stay here. Mold on the shower curtain and window curtains. The beds were comfortable but so squeeky. Pillows were ok. Believe that I did pull the sheets back to check for begbugs. Thankfully none were found! The breakfast was passable. Tha coffee was hot and the juica was cold.Nothing fancy. The fruit was bad. We were here for a dog show and if we had another choice we would have taken it. I understand the first bldg is renovated so hopefully this one is next.

When I got there the front desk person was nice but not really informative. He just gave me my key and that was it I had to figure out which side of the building I needed to go to find my room. I second I opened the door I started sneezing from all the dust and I didn't stop until I got some medicine. It was so dirty that I ended up having an asthma attack so that was unfortunate. We left a day early cause I really got sick after that and when we went to the front desk no one was there, even to greet other guests. I waited a few minutes and then when she came my friend asked if anyone was working at the front and she answered super rudely. I didn't even care at this point I wanted to go home.

We checked in after waiting in the foyer for 20 minutes because the front door was locked at 7 pm. After arriving to our first room, we noticed a foul smell, the sheets were stained and the carpets were dirty. The young man at the front desk assigned us a new room but it was just as gross. We asked to speak to a manager but they were unavailable. I asked to be checked out of the hotel but that was “against company policy.” I left and returned the next day to speak with the manager at the time he was supposed to be available. I was told he was unavailable and that he had meetings all day so I needed to send him an email. I sent the email and called many times but I have yet to hear back. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room was spacious but a little worn - Very adequate for 2 adults and our pet dog. Breakfast was just OK - oatmeal was not hot and we had to wait for some items to be restocked. Property is currently doing renovations... We would consider returning to this property if traveling with our pet.

I actually work for Best Western as a Housekeeping Manager. My room was clean. Although my Sunday stayover didn't clean room, only made bed, I can tell it was possibly a different housekeeper from the previous day. The overall housekeeper, Thelma I believe her name was took care of my room and did an outstanding job. Even remembering who I was and asking me if I needed anything after seeing the dnd siqn on my door when seeing me later in the day. Overall not a bad experience. Not much within walking distance either.

I booked this room on Hotels.Com. The lady that checked us in was very nice and accommodating so this review is not a reflection of the check in staff. The first thing I noticed were how bad the pillows smelled. They need to be thrown in the trash. I did not sleep with a pillow. The room had not been vacuumed well and even though it looked like some effort had been made to renovate the room, the room seemed dirty. There are shear curtains that cover the window that are see through but if you pull them together they cover the AC Unit. That is when I noticed how gross the unit was and did not turn it on because I didn't want to breathe whatever would be blown into the room. Breakfast is not very appetizing and they could put a few more grinds into the coffee to make it taste better than brown water. There is some construction taking place to the outside of the building. Hopefully, the renovations will make the place nicer. I would expect better from the Best Western Brand. This was disappointing. I got really grossed out because I thought that maybe the bed was made up with the previous tenants linens. That is why I wanted to leave at 2:30 in the morning. The bed did not smell good and it was hot because the AC had tons of dust and debris that was visable.

The first thing that struck me about this motel were the teenagers loitering in the stairs and breezeways. People's belongings like shoes and clothes are on the walkways outside the doors of their rooms, so I'm pretty sure they are living here on a more or less permanent basis. The 2 queen bed room we had for 1 night was pretty nice - mattress and bedding are adequate - with the exception of the lone motel-style window that was so murky and dirty you couldn't see the car dealership outside the parking lot. The drapes were filthy and inoperable.The area is very dodgy on a busy highway. There are no attractions or amenities nearby. The tiny pool was an unattractive construction zone and basically unusable. The breakfast is not good - dried out scrambled eggs and stale bagels. Lackadaisical staff. However, my biggest beef with the Best Western Salisbury was the cost. I booked 2 rooms and only ended up needing one due to finishing up my business in Salisbury early. The hotel charged me for the unused room apparently because I wasn't able to cancel it 48 hours in advance. I did let them know early in the afternoon that I needed to cancel the reservation. They flatly refused to even discuss the matter with me. I ended up paying $400 for one night in this place. I would never consider staying at this motel or any other Best Western motel/hotel ever again. If your travel plans are anything than absolutely fixed due to weather, other people's plans, etc. do not book a room here. They will skewer you. Not a good business model. I am a positive person and don't leave poor reviews for no reason, but this motel truly deserves it.

Reservations were made well in advance to attend a 50th Anniversary celebration. As a travel agent, Ilooked for indicators to ensure that our accommodations would be satisfactory. The rooms carried a musty odor, were not clean, had flies, thin walls permitted noisy neighbors to disturb us, poor lobby/reception area, receptionist was not of very much assistance and not a place to call home.

The shower curtain had mold stains on it. I found a hair on a clean towel. Besides that it was okay. Beds were comfortable. It was clean besides the two things I mentioned. The pool had a film on top of it, so we did not swim. The night front desk lady was SUPER FRIENDLY! It is 30 to 40 minutes from the Ocean City Boardwalk.

Worst experience of my life. Don't ever stay here. Whomever owns this hotel doesn't care about his customers or employees, he doesn't lead a team of people or hire anyone of quality to be the face of his business. He simply doesn't care. Everything about this place is utter chaos and the building which is newly renovated is falling apart. What a terrible, terrible experience.

The ground level rooms 140 - 150 has a very bad mildew odor. The rooms are very unfit to stay in mostly likely unsafe. The general manager Amit Patel is very unfair and unreasonable. We requested a refund then General manager Amit Patel told us that his cash registers does not process any refunds and he certified the health conditions of the rooms. Do not stay at this hotel.

Here for a softball tournament. Despite some frightening reviews, the room was not all that bad. Renovated? It's like BW dug up the original designer from 1980. The bad - we were gouged in room price.

So the outside is green because of the dry wall apparently the hotel will be enclosed with flower beds so that was a nice work in progress. The rooms felt pretty fresh and clean and the staff was really helpful and quick and responsive with my needs. Will give them a visit again!

We stayed here for four nights for a USSSA Softball tournament; it was not a pleasant stay. We were told months ago that the hotel was being renovated and that they would be completed by this weekend. Well, renovations were not complete. We were greeted upon arrival by green Sheetrock covering the exterior of the building which was really appealing. Our first room that was given to us had the smell of a mustiness or mildew. After waiting at the lobby for 45 minutes, I was given a second room that was slightly better. Our Wednesday and Thursday night rate was $189 through the tournament; we looked on the BW website, and the advertised room rate was $89 per night, which was more representative of what the room rate should be. The rest of our team had similar issues, as well as a lack of towels, dirty shower fixtures etc. I've enclosed some photos of our “renovated room”. There are other options in this area - stay away from here. We had to put a Febreze deodorizer in front of the A/C to keep our room smelling good.

I am happy to see this hotel follow through on many improvements and renovations. The rooms are more modern and look bigger and the customer service is very nice. I like Salisbury as an area and this stayover too.

I booked with BW directly and I made a mistake on the day during the week so it was easy to make a change. I accidentally booked it a day early and the management allowed me to stay the following day with no extra charge. Edith at the front desk and other staff were very friendly, helpful and understanding. Kudos to the management and staff at this location. You are all doing a great job. Thank you very much! I will recommend this property to others since we are here in the area throughout the year on various dates.

This wasn't a bad little motel off Interstate 13. The room was comfortable and clean. My gripe is with the hidden fees and billing mistake. I booked a room thru booking.com and was quoted a total price of $122.08 which I paid with my Mastercard. When I got the bill, they charged me $134.00 dollars for the room and 27 bucks for 'incidentals'. Well, we didn't have any incidentals. In fact, there is no place at this motel to purchase anything 'incidental. Apparently, everyone gets charged some % of the room rate for 'incidentals', just in case you trash the room. When I alerted the Hotel staff of the mistake with the room rate, they said I would have to wait 7-10 business days for the bill to be corrected and my Mastercard credited and the incidentals charge to be removed.

Disappointed in the quality of this Best Western, I don't know if this is a new acquisition but the rooms were underwhelming, the one advertised on the website must have been from a different BW. The bed fell apart, literally off the frame, the carpets were filthy, and there was a power outage. Breakfast was your standard continental style. Not worth the price paid.

The first room we were offered had a terrible odor. It was located on the second floor and the steps were falling apart. We were given another room in a different part of the hotel and the concrete was broken in many areas. We were told they are doing renovations, my husband said they should be careful because if someone gets hurt they will be sued. Only one person was at the desk, it was not late. The door was locked and it said they were taking care of another customer and would return shortly it was freezing.

very comfortable beds, clean and staff are wonderful, treated us like family and very helpful with giving directions to our grand daughters college graduation in Princess Anne. The breakfast was very good and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and had everything we needed and everything that we were told would be in the room. The building was under reconstruction but they were very quiet and did not disturb our sleep at all.

The receptionist was rude and wasn't helpful. The room I reserved was available to me. I wasn't compensated for that rather I was told to pay extra money to have change room for a different one. The images online look nothing like what they appear. Quite misleading

Stayed here only 1 night. My Check in was at 10 pm so I was tired. Desk clerk was friendly. Went to room. Mattress on bed was old(could feel the springs). Went to breakfast About 15 minutes early and doors were locked. Had to ring doorbell to get in front lobby. A male staff member asked me what I needed. I said I came to eat. He said they won't be ready for 13 minutes. I proceeded to sit in the lobby. They didn't even think to offer or show me where the coffee was. Finally after 6 minutes I asked if I could have some coffee and the man pointed to the coffee pot. Finally they opened the breakfast and I'm sorry I waited. The eggs tasted like military powdered eggs(watery at that), the hash browns looked like McDonald rejects, there was 1 banana that had more black spots than yellow. I ate quickly and proceeded to check out. The young desk clerk hardly said 2 words to me and i had to wait almost 9 minutes just to get a receipt. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!!

Unprofessional front desk, DIRTY ROOM!!! Checked in at 1:30 and was told that it would cost an extra $25 to check in before 2 PM. The entire hotel was almost empty, maybe 10 cars in the parking lot. After an argument the clerk agreed to waive the fee, it took ten minutes to confirm an available and supposedly clean room??? Went to the room, what a DISASTER! I can't even begin to explain, dirty carpets, empty cellophane food wrappers behind the furniture, silly string sprayed on the wall and lamp, bathroom floors maybe mopped? A pile of full garbage bags in the parking space next to mine, left overnight??? Who is in charge of quality control for these hotels? I was mortified, came back from the college bike ride and jumped into the shower and left on Saturday, did not stay the second night. They informed me at check in, that if I did not return the key there would be an additional $25.00 charge. Total bill $490.56 Local room and city tax $13.14 each, what are they taxing me for? They have refused any refund to Expedia because I reported the condition of this property to Best Western Customer Service / Paula and Expedia / Christie. The Property Manager / Amed Patel informed me that they were fined $250.00 by Best Western and that he could not speak with me directly, ps it didn't sound like the manager to me, it sounded like the Front desk person Gregg that answered my initial call and gave me his name. Any property that would charge these rates for dirty accommodations and unprofessional treatment should be dropper by Best Western, Expedia, and any reliable booking agents. I am on the phone with Best Western Customer Service / Faith, she informed me that there is no such penalty and this owner was lying! SHAMEFUL!

Dear Steven, we are saddened by your unfortunate assessment of our property, which bears no semblance to the reality of the condition of our rooms. Our housekeeping report showed that your account of the condition of your room was invalid. The room was cleaned thoroughly, inspected by the supervisor, and was checked again upon receiving your complaint, which was found to be untrue. Furthermore, we have no control over the tax rate that the county and state charge -- that has nothing to do with our property. Moreover, we never stated that there is a $25 charge for not returning keys. This is untrue. Finally, due to the unfounded claims that were made after you checked out (as opposed to allowing us to address the alleged deficiencies while you were actually here), Best Western Corporate created an FCR (First Contact Resolution) and did, in fact, fine us the said amount. This is standard procedure. After reading your review claiming that she stated otherwise, I contacted Faith at Corporate and she claimed that she was not asked about an FCR fine. We hope to serve each guest every time with outstanding service and regret that we were not able to exceed your expectations during your trip.

Used this hotel for a half-way stop to Virginia, it was easy to find with a good breakfast and friendly staff. Plenty of parking and available restaurants nearby. We booked smoking on the computer by accident and the staff was quick to change our room without any stress.

My wife, my granddaughter and I stayed here while in the area for a baseball tournament. I think Best Western is my go to hotel when traveling. No frills, no thrills, but always quality. We enjoyed the free breakfast, especially the waffles.

It is an old building. It is pretty clean and everything worked. All the amenities were in place. It needs some upkeep. If nothing is done, this hotel could quickly take a turn for the worst. If all you are looking for is a place to sleep for cheap, you will get what you want here. Don't expect anything fancy. The staff was nice but a little unattentive. The lobby was closed/locked with a sign that said "be right back" twice during my stay.

I have stayed here before. Very basic hotel, but great for a 1 night pit stop. This stay I came to check-in, it was around 2:30PM - I walked into the lobby and there was no one around. The back office door was open, but no one was in sight. I waited about 5 minutes before calling the hotel to try and find some assistance. No answer, I called 3 times. After a total of about 10 minutes with phone ringing off the hook and no movement, a blonde haired woman came from the back door in the fitness room with another woman. She looked at me and said nothing. She then came in the back office to the front desk, still no acknowledgement that I was there or had been waiting a while. She FINALLY asked if I was checking in - I had said I was starting to worry that no one was here, her reply was "well, check-in is not until 3" I mentioned I called with no answer, she said she "was outside checking on housekeepers." I understand maybe you are short staffed and need to wear multiple hats, but maybe take a portable phone with you, so you can answer calls, or at the least, leave a sign on the desk stating you will be back shortly. Either way, she was not happy that I was trying to check in 20 minutes before 3PM. I highly doubt the hotel was full or anywhere near full on a random Sunday, but she put me next to a room (I am sure they are living there, or at least long term guests) where a creepy, very unsettling man, was just sitting outside his room, watching me unload my car and asking what was in my car and actually walking up and looking in my vehicle! Really unnerving! Regardless, I put things in the room and left to go get some dinner. Upon my return there were several men outside my room from different rooms within the same area and that was it. They were staring and making me very uncomfortable. I went inside to the front desk to inquire about moving somewhere else, because there were creepy men outside my room. She was aware and didn't ask any other question and moved my room farther away on the 2nd floor. The room was basic and did the job, which is all I expected. The service and the way the front desk associate treated me was unacceptable and I will not be coming back. A basic Best Western (not Plus or Premier) is just that, basic. The service is what is needed to keep bringing people back. I am very disappointed with my overall experience.

Booked a room on line at BW Salisbury. Let me start by saying this was my worst hotel visit yet and I day visit because I went in the room and left. There were people loitering drinking outside the rooms and there was a half dressed man just hanging out. But I still I gave the room a chance and went in. I walked into a smelly odor , a peice of trash on the floor and the garbage was not emptied! I immediately returned to the front desk and told the manager on duty about the room not being clean. She was very nice and said I can offer you a room on the other side of the building where "the girl on that side is a better cleaner than the side you are now on"! REALLY?! The whole place doesn't get cleaned the same?! And you have an employee that works poorly and you know it and nothing is done to correct it ?! NO THANK YOU, I LEFT. NO MORE BEST WESTERN FOR ME! Building was already dated but didn't have to be dirty!

The hotel was ok. We stayed two nights. It was clean except for the sheets, they had dirt spots on them. The staff were apologetic and had the sheets changed. Did not get to use the pool because the weather was cold, wish it was an indoor pool. Did not incur any other problems but I think I will stay at the Best Western on Route 50, it is a better hotel although it was booked when I made reservations.

We stayed here for a softball tournament back in July. It was horrible! There were guys staying at the hotel that were working across from the hotel and they were yelling crud things at our 14 year old girls. They started work at 6am! Went down to get hot water for tea at 6:30am and it was empty. The front desk told us to go to the gym area to try and get hot water from there and that was empty to so we had to go to Dunkin Donuts down the road for breakfast! Ice machine was always empty too. Over the weekend there was alot of shady activity with naked men banging on doors and the worst part about it is that Best Western corporate doesn't even care!! We reached out to them and they did nothing at all! It was a bother to them that we called them!

The check out was ridiculous, the guy was walking away to take a break, then he noticed that my wife and I were at the desk. It was clearly that he hated having to come back to the desk and he even didn't ask how the stay was. Just printed the bill and said sign here, had to look for a pen myself, to sign, myself. It felt if we were at a 'low end' hotel..

All in all, it was okay. The Continental breakfast was probably the best part. The bed sunk in when you laid down. The pool needed clean. Bottom line - it was priced the lowest out of all major name hotel/motel in the area. It was also located about 35 minutes from Ocean City. If you are looking for a couple night stay, I guess I would recommend this Best Western. If more than a couple days, no way...

The rooms was very nice and clean the bed sleep very very good. the service was awesome and pleasant breakfast was very good. Ms. Edith was helpful and pleasant. I will stay there again and I would recommended my friends and family to stay.the weather was nice so i could go swimming and the pool was nice and clean. the towels was nice and fluff. This is an older style Best Western motel with outside room entry and NO elevator. The "continental" breakfast was minimal and not what you would experience at other motels including Best Westerns. We opted for fast food breakfasts. The beds were only average again, reminding of older motels. Staff was friendly and as accommodating as they could be.

I really enjoyed my stay and the people here really made it worthwhile. The price was a little high but so was everyone else in the area. I loved the pool it provided hours of relaxation and summer fun. The room was super clean and smelled great. The breakfast had many items and the lobby looked beautiful.

We lived in Salisbury and we were coming back to visit. We chose the best western because we had some points to use on the credit card. We had the choice of Best western, sleep inn, or Hampton inn. This was a convenient location and I have stayed at best westerns in the past and thought they were fine for just a basic short stay hotel. This hotel is poorly maintained, the pool is worn down. breakfast was pathetic. Business center computer could not access the internet. Room was dirty. Was not vacuumed. Floor felt sandy and dirty. Stains on the wall. Shower knob kept falling off and would not get warm or good water pressure. Stain on carpet. Dirty towels. Why I didn't choose the Hampton inn is besides me, but will for sure never return to any best westerns again.

Swimming pool badly worn and dirty, breakfast terrible and room sheets/pillows and air conditioner were all unsatisfactory. For the price of over $350 canadian dollars for one night stay - total rip off. Stay at a cheap motel, I'm sure it would be equivalent or better!

After I cleaned the pool my children really really enjoyed their self. The staff was very helpful except 1 front desk agent. The location was excellent fir us to go to the Zoo and local parks. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a good stay for the price it was at a comparable rate to the competition but offered more in terms of brand and reliability. I liked to have my pet be able to stay in my room since they have pet rooms. They kept it fresh clean and comfortable during my whole stay. I recommend this place one of the best in Salisbury!

The list of things wrong with this hotel are endless. Sleep in your car. You will be happier. Bizarre chemical smells everywhere in an attempt to cover up the filth most likely. Whole establishment filthy. Just gross. You could feel the built up grime on the floors, flies in room, bathtub filthy. Awful. Price gouging on the weekends. Paid $200 for this nastiness.

The cleaning staff is horrible. Always seemed like a shortage of clean towels and toiletries. Definitely not worth the rate being charged. Another of our party stayed at the Days Inn only a few minutes away for half the rate and much cleaner rooms.

This hotel doesn't deserve to be a Best Western ... maybe worst eastern. Old, not clean, felt like a flea bag. It seriously needs updating and equipment repair/replacement. It was not a typical Best Western, although the lobby looked new. Not the rooms.

We paid $167 and the room was worth $50. The shower was filthy; it needed bleach badly. The pool was dirty. The window was also dirty. There were four tiny pillows on the bed that were worthless. We won't be stopping here again.

Admittedly this isn't the best Best Western we've ever stayed at BUT the room was comfortable, had plenty of room and was quiet. We were there for five days, six nights and have not a complaint one. Housekeeping was excellent. It was so nice to come back after a long day sightseeing to a clean and tidy room. Breakfast was good: eggs, oatmeal, dry cereal, muffins & sweet rolls, etc. Great way to start the day! Front desk was helpful with any questions we had about the area. The exterior is a little in need of attention but don't let that deter you.

This hotel is definitely worth visiting. I really enjoyed my stay and the staff really made it worthwhile. The room was a little cold but the maintenance showed me how to work everything and gave me extra blankets too. The rooms were very clean and smelled great. The staff was friendly and helpful, but in the end there was only so much they could do to help because the hotel is ready for updating and renovations. Overall, I found the rooms to be dirty. There was black mold in the shower tile, on the floors along the perimeter and attention to detail was clearly not a priority to whomever was in charge of cleaning the room for the next guest. Either update the hotel rooms or update the pictures of the rooms online because they do not match!

Enough said! Manager/ Owner wanted to give 1/2 off the room. I said no deal. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and this was a first. Best Western corporate is aware of the situation. This gets better: I had to stay another night (no other hotels available in city). The next morning I saw the folks who were in the same room I was in the previous night.... the FECES was still in the room. Unbelievable!

I arrived at the hotel shortly after 5pm on a Sunday, and was surprised to see almost no cars in the lot. This is never a good sign. When I booked, I also noticed that the price was somewhat less than what I expect to pay at a Best Western. Despite all this, the room was very nice and had all the amenities I expected--TV, internet, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. It was also very quiet. I have two complaints--the windows don't open, and there's no place to eat anywhere nearby. The desk clerk had some problems getting me checked in, but she admitted that she was new. The breakfast buffet the next morning was quite good, with a fairly large seating area.

We checked in for three nights and on the first day we noticed drug dealing going on and ladies coming in and out at all hours of the night. When we called the manager who is also the owner, he did nothing about it. So we chose to leave a day early and he would not refund our money.

The claims made by this guest are unsubstantiated, and despite asking for what would prompt him to believe illegal activities were taking place, we received no concrete answer. I personally advised the guest that I would be more than willing to involve law enforcement individuals to ensure what he perceived is handled, but in turn, I and other staff members (and guests) received verbal abuses, racist profanity, and threats. As per our online travel agency agreements, we were unable to process a refund for the last night, as the guest decided not to stay.

My husband and I stayed overnight on the Easter weekend. When we attempted to shower and shave on Sunday morning, the sink stopper was stuck in the closed position, and the shower diverter did not work. Not being able to use the sink or the shower was a major inconvenience. I did not expect a full refund, but the clerk offered only $10 off our bill. Not acceptable. I do not recommend this motel.

Room was dated, smelled, and I was unable to turn on the hot water to shower. The hotel sits on a busy road and their was an active construction site adjacent to the property. Very noisy. I also worry about security with only an outdoor entrance to each room.

Very nice comfortable Best Western. Surrounded by food options ( Denny's, Waffle House, Hardies) A welcome break off the road. The in house breakfast is also available, of course, tho it was a bit on the sparse side by the time we arrived.

My stay at the Best Western in Salisbury was great! Ms. Edith and the other front desk agents were very kind, respectful, and helpful. The rooms were clean, updated, and fresh. We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past for the Seagull Century Bike Ride, and always enjoyed our stay. In the past, they decorated the lobby, gave out snack bags, and always treated us well. That was NOT the case this time. The charge for this event was almost double of the last time - $200. The rooms were very run down, and while the staff was helpful, there wasn't the interest we have seen in the past. The HVAC unit was hardly working and couldn't take care of the humidity needs of the room. We were very disappointed and will not stay there again .

Spent one night here and that was more than enough. More of a low end motel. Staff was friendly enough, breakfast was adequate but overall I would not stay here again. I was a bit creeped out by the place.

"A Complete Disappointment and Not Worthy of the Best Western Name"

When staying at a Best Western, I usually expect a clean, modernized room that comports with its standards as good value for a mid rate hotel. The Salisbury Hotel failed. When I arrived there, the door was partially ajar with an extension cord being fed to an outdoor area. It made me wonder who may have been using it before I showed up. The bed was uncomfortable, the sheets were poor and like a lot worse for ware. The breakfast was about as basic as you could find with the pastries being stale although the coffee was ok. If I were Best Western or for that matter the owner of the hotel, I would demand a change. The telephones which were from the 80's or 90's seemed dirty and the overall experience was disappointing. I am sure you can find a comparable hotel at about half the price in Salisbury.

Stayed here from 9/21-9/23 (2016)...check is was the only part productive. Room had flies, sheets were not clean, dust filled light fixtures. If you plan to stay here to rest, think again. There were loud fights, name calling, profanity, people not respecting others trying to get rest, management did nothing when bought to their attention. If you can avoid this place, would advise to do so.

Go to another Best Western if available. This is one of the worst locations that Best Western has. The staff is not very friendly and not welcoming. The door did not work and the pool was dirty and unsanitary. The water pressure for the shower was not that good. At breakfast they did not want to replenish eggs and sausage gravy. I asked and was told it would take an hour and a half to make them. Of course I never received them. And the cranberry juice was sour and nasty. I am very upset about this Best Western. If you can avoid this location at all costs. It cost me a $110.00 and it was only worth $60.00.

I made my reservations months in advanced and I when I got to the hotel there was another patron who was getting a room at the same time I was. This patron did not have a reservation at all and was quoted a price oft $79.00 dollars for the night. My price was $185.00 with the reservation. I asked the manager about an adjustment but was told that the rate I was quoted was the rate. I asked could I cancel that reservation and just get a room like the person who just walked in, did I was told that if I did not honor my reservation that I would be charged for the room at the rate of $185.00 for the 1-night stay. So I took the room, now paying that rate was bad enough but the worst part is the hotel and the room was a dump. I would have been better off going to the Budget Inn across the street. Now I was in a group of 14 people and the manager would not give us an adjustment at all. Even though we all witnessed the patron who walked off the street and got a rate of $79.00. AVOID THIS DUMP AT ALL COST THERE IS A BUDGET INN ACROSS THE STREET.

Some of the reviews made me weary, but we were very pleased with our 1 night stay. The room and the pool were clean. Sunday morn breakfast was decent, but very crowded. Price was great compared to everything else I found for one weekend night. A little far from the beach (40 min), but at least it was a straight shot and easy drive.

One night stay. Screwed up reservation and finally got a 2nd floor room lugging luggage up two flights. Convenient parking. "Breakfast" included! Located in business area of the town. Convenient for things we were doing in the area! Reasonably priced, but not especially a great visit!

This place had the worst location. We booked there because it was the middle of the night. We were totally raped on the price considering the beds were super uncomfortable and the room was extremely uninsulated. Other customers must've stopped outside of our room to converse. I felt like they were barging in it was so loud. And they were speaking in a normal tone of voice. The location was horrible it sit amongst a huge auto mall. Felt more like we were staying at an industrial park. It was more of a $75. Rental not a $265.00! At least it was clean. All except for the swimming pool, which was the size of my living room and had a film on it.

I booked this hotel thru hotels.com at the last minute. We were travelling from NJ via the ferry to Lewes DE. Since we decided to stay overnight close to OC MD this hotel has the lowest price and an availability. Hotels.com was so kind enough to assist me in changing my original reservation to a king bed and it was $16 less infact. ??The nightmare began when we arrived almost 9 pm and the lobby door was locked. As Iwas leaving, the receptionist had the door unlocked something like you get into an apartment main entrance and you need to get a permission toco e up kinda thing. The checking in was alright..Mind you I am more frequent at holiday inn, and the staff is always awesome and friendly. As we proceeded to the room and its kinda like a motel set up where you get into your room from the parking lot area. In front of the parking area is an abondoned building, dark and looks scary...I asked myself what did i put myself into? When we arrived to our room, the key card worked alright but the door wont open. My hubby have to do it a few times until it opened up. The room looks clean, there is a smell seems like someone have occupied it for a while. I checked the sheets and mattress and appears to be ok. Bathroom and towels ok so far. There is small round table and 2 chairs and a work desk and an ac closet for clothing. We proceeded to drive about less than a mile maybe where there are restaurants as per suggested by the front desk. We went back to the hotel or motel around 1100. After an hour in the room we noticed the AC was making such a loud noise almost like you are on a boat. We decided not to ask to have our room changed since we were so tired from the whole day activity and wore earplugs. The whole night was a disaster. The bed was sooouncomfortable that until now my back is still sore. That ned needs to be thrown out already. I figure it maybe the same situation even if we asked for another room. By 9 am we woke up with about 2-3 hours of sleep. I called the front desk and told them of my situation and discoveries.And she kinda brushed it off and answered another phone call and left me waiting. There is free continental breakfast which we didnt get the chance to take as we were already che king out by 10am and breakfast is only till 10. I told the lady who checked us out and suggested about tali g to the manager but is mit available and gave his card for me to call. I told her about our night, the comforter has a big stain that looked like blood orurine or something, thats located on the inside part, thats why i didnt see it when i pulled the sheets to che k upon getting in the room. The lady also told the supervisor of their housekeeping about it and i also showed her two pictures, one of the dirty stained comforter and towels with paint stain, which she was aware. Really? You knew and you still put it out for use? I did call hotels.com and reported all this and will call the hotel. They offered ( hotels.com) for a request for refund. Ofcourse it will take time. I definitely not not not recommend this place at all. Not safe if you rather stay by salisbury i stayed by microtel by wyndham before and its a nice place and safe area with cctv and all. They also have free breakfast.And for less. Oh did i mentioned i paid $247 for that motel for a night and as iwas checking intneir regular rate that day was $219. Really? If only i knew what kind of a place that was i would rather pay $400 and i know that place is safe and with a comfortable stay like holiday inn.

It was nice and all especially Tyeshia who was my housekeeping lady for the 5 days I was there she was kind and friendly and very helpful . But at the beginning when I got there the front desk lady (didn't catch her name) told me I couldn't get my room till 3 it was 12 so I waiting 3 hrs in the lobby I had no car . And my toddler was tired from the 5 hrs of being on two plane rides to Maryland ... And I had called the night before and was told I could get a room as soon as I got there .. But turns out I couldn't so I had to sit there with my tired toddler for 3 hrs ... But beside the rough start it was a nice room and everything else went great even the check out I got my deposit and everything was fast and easy thanks to Tyeshia again ! Thank you so much !!!

We stayed here for a night during the week, having originally planned two. The room smelled very strongly of disinfectant, to the extent that we wondered whether something very unpleasant had happened earlier. The bed was extremely narrow for two people. Breakfast was overcrowded and there was no milk. On the positive side, the receptionists are efficient and pleasant and they allow dogs at no extra charge.

The Best Western Salisbury Plaza is okay for the money. The rooms were recently renovated. Not everything looks new, but it's close enough. Our room was reasonably clean. The Wifi connection worked well. When I made the reservation, I thought a "Double" room meant two beds. The check-in clerk, who worked at other hotels as well, told me that most hotels classify a Double as two beds. But that's not how Best Western does it. To Best Western, a "Double" room means one double bed. Oops! Fortunately, the clerk upgraded me to a King room so that my son didn't have to sleep on the floor. The breakfast buffet is sufficient but not great. The eggs are very obviously powdered and somewhat watery. The coffee is a bit weak. There are danishes, fruit and cereal, however, so most can find something worth eating.

This hotel should be avoided. Booked for a softball tournament-was very disappointed. We tried to leave but we were stuck in a team contract. No place for gathering and rooms were less than desirable and I am being nice.

My boyfriend and I stayed 5 nights at this hotel. We would have left after the first night but it's summer and everyone else was sold out. The morning after our first night, blood splatter was noticed on the wall of the bathroom. I am a trauma nurse and my boyfriend is an EMT and we have seen blood and dried blood thousands of times. The housekeeping supervisor tried to undermine us and question our ability to identify dried blood saying it was rust. They said blood doesn't dry red. Are you joking ? What color do you think it dries as Purple or pink or teal ?? Then we noticed our sheets had cigarette burns in them. They would have never given us a new room if we hadn't complained so much. They then reassign us a room and the keys didn't work. We go to get new keys, and the front desk attendant acted like we were bothering him. They did say they fired him the following day. That's a start but a long way to go. We then get our second room and yet again more cigarette burns in the sheets and someone else's hair on the bathroom floor and the chain lock didn't work. Our room averaged $140 a night and the manager was so nice to credit us $76.00 .... are you joking ?? We decided that was a kick in the face and decided to contact the health department. We will also be following up with corporate and contacting orbitz..

We got to the hotel very late at night on our way home from vacation. When we got to the room, we realized that one of the two beds in the room wasn't even changed. Their was hair all over the bed along with little black pebble looking things. The hair was on the sheets along with the pillows. It was disgusting. We called down to the lobby and they said they would send some new sheets up to the room. It took 15 minutes before we finally got the sheets. Other than that everything else seemed to be okay. Breakfast was good, lobby was clean. We won't be going back to this Best Western only because of the hair in the bed.

The beds in this room were made by a trainee housekeeper, and although the room was not to be rented until our supervisor checked the beds, the room was nevertheless rented due to not being correctly noted in our system. I booked this hotel at the last minute totally slip my mind, came down for a wedding. I wanted something affordable and not to far from the venue. Which I got and greatly appreciate. The staff was very helpful and I had ask for extra set upon my arrival since we would be coming into the area really close to the wedding start time. They even allow us to check into the room early. The breakfast the next morning was pretty tasty.

Booked here because it was pet friendly. Previous reviews were mixed, so I hoped management had made some changes after responding to other feedback. Unfortunately this was not the case. Bed pillows and couches were visibly stained,breakfast area was underwhelming with most of the food options empty and guests walking around in pajamas. We've stayed at other Best Westerns that have been amazing. This location does not meet the bar, especially for the over $200/night rates they're charging.

This was a last minute stay because our other hotel cancelled on us when we went to check in due to overbooking. Upon arriving, the hotel did not look so great, but we were tired! Check in was quick, but we were not told where our room was, so we spent a bit of time driving around the property to find a place to park. The room was clean, but there were a lot of people hanging out in the parking lot and playing in the pool. After midnight, it was still very noisy and we could hear everything outside. Random car alarms would go off, people would yell outside our room and banging on the door. It was very hard to sleep with all the noise from outside, with no security controlling the noise level. Breakfast in the morning was horrible, so go elsewhere. I really appreciate getting a room last minute, but I still way overpaid for this place and if you have a family that likes it quiet at night, go somewhere else.

I spent a lot of time looking into hotels for my trip. They were all a little too pricey for what they were offering. This place in Salisbury is not too far from Ocean City, away from the mess you want to avoid during beach season, and really enjoyable to stay at. I'm so glad I went with this option--clean, friendly staff, safe, and probably where I'll be next year when I can stomach vinegar again!

"Wrong price for what it is"

As one of the later teams to qualify for a 120 team softball tournament in Salisbury, we had to scramble to find accommodations for 15 rooms anywhere in the area, and this was the only that could fit us I know why Honestly, while some in our group were VERY unhappy, I would have been ok with this if the price reflected the quality of the facilities. This is a $79 budget motel. That is far below the rate charged. Old, tired, grey, broken ice machines, doors not closing properly, dead electric outlets, etc... On the positive side, they try hard to put out a nice buffet breakfast, and Megan at the front desk does what she can to make the visitors happy. But she has a tough job, given all the issues...

We stayed at this Best Western for 3 nights and had a very good experience. The room was clean and had a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer etc. The bedding was comfortable and the shower was decent. My only complaint would be the taste of the coffee in the room, but at least they had it. The location is less than an hour from the Assateague Seashore were we were vacationing, but the hotel is located on a business route with lots of dining choices.

Having just stayed at Best Western Iwo Jima in Rosslyn my family thought, mistakenly, that this one would be nice also. How wrong we were! The hotel was filled with, we think, ball players, who were loud and complaints to the front desk did not help. No quiet hours were observed. A motor home was parked taking up 8 parking places, while the adults sat outside, "camping"... What are you running, a camp ground or a motel? Maintenance in the bathroom was non-existent. Most plumbing, Left turn to hot and right turn to cold. Not so in this case, with a screw sticking out of the faucet handle. The toilet seat wasn't secured, a lawsuit waiting to happen and no vent fan in the bathroom. When the front desk was called, the night clerk said she would try to quiet the group of at least 30, down. At 11 pm games were still being played in the parking lot! I am a licensed Washington DC tour guide and have stayed in many nice hotels. On a scale, this hotel is the second worst I have every stayed at, the first being in Cuthburt, Georgia, which rated a zero! The rate charged was $175 and should have been $29.00 with free ear plugs! After driving from Boston and heavy traffic, a quiet bed was all we slights. You all best pass this "Worst Western"!

Sketchy does not begin to describe this hotel. We arrived with other families for a lax weekend. The parking lot is adjacent to an empty building scattered with trash. The retention pond behind the hotel is stagnant. The breeze way entrance has not been cleaned in weeks as the benches are covered in dust and the rugs are filthy. We chose not to eat the breakfast. With the conditions of the rooms, we never thought the kitchen would be clean! Our first room required we return to the front desk several times as not one of 4 keys worked. The front desk clerk finally unlocked the door with a key and stated he would bring us new key cards. I walked into the room while waiting for him. They are EXTREMELY outdated, musty, and the pull out sofa had dirty sheets on it when I opened it. I told him we couldn't stay there as the sheets were dirty and the couch mattress was not usable. He then moved us to a room with 2 doubles. We specifically booked this hotel for the king bed and pull out. The room "had just been cleaned." Upon entering this room, the carpets were dirty as they had no been vacuumed. I walked next door and borrowed the vacuum from the maid. YES, I vacuumed my OWN room. I know it was not vacuumed as the lint came up, and I could hear the sand and dirt within the vacuum. FYI - the vacuum does not fit between the platform bed and the side wall; thus I can only assume this area has not been vacuumed as long as this vacuum was purchased. You could write your name in the dust on top of the frig. The "owner" came to the pool where several families were sitting while our boys were playing. He was extremely worried the Health Dept would shut him down as we had glass by the pool. I can assure you this is not why the Health Dept will shut him down! After dinner, my husband wanted to watch the game, so he turned down he sheets at 10:45 PM to find the sheets were dirty as can be seen in the picture. They were never changed. I took a pic, went to the front desk, and asked what we could now do. Kelly, a conscientious employee, sent the pic to the "owner" who never returned her call the entire weekend. I asked for clean sheets to change the bed, and she begged me to move yet again as she felt uncomfortable with us staying there. YES, we moved again. Upon leaving the front desk, a family checked out as their room had bugs and was dirty. Found out Saturday at the LAX tournament another family also checked out as they had bugs. Our first two rooms had large flies, and our third room had dead flies. There were also small insects flying in one family's room. I cannot begin to believe this facility has ANY good ratings unless the "owner's" friends and relatives wrote them. Lastly I love the fact that the housekeeper smoked outside the non-smoking rooms between cleaning them! I will contact AAA as well to let them know this facility is dirty- lacking clean linens, trained staff, etc... AND it is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for the state it is in. The owner told me at the pool that they were undergoing renovations. HA HA - never saw a worker, grounds are unkept, no one's room looked any different from ours. For those who need more info, the fitness center is a joke! Kelly was the ONLY employee to provide any service! One bed in our room was horrific; the other was subpar. We did not sleep well as we were all afraid of what might creep out during the night. Three weeks later, all the families are still talking about this place. The price was extremely high for this room.

While a dated hotel (smaller rooms, older furniture) the beds are comfortable and the staff very helpful. This was a convenient location for our travels. The grandkids loved the pool and breakfast was standard fare.

We were just passing through and wanted an overnight stop so pulled in here. Not a bad place to stay but I have stayed in better Best Westerns at a cheaper cost. However, that is no reason not to stay here as the prices in the area are about the same.

"Baseball Team trip"

Our travel baseball team was there for the 4th of July weekend. They doubled the rates and for amount we paid I expected better. From the minute we walked in we had horrible customer service from the front desk. They messed up our reservation twice and charged us over $600 for two nights and gave us a hard time. The room smelled funny and there were ants. The area is not good either, lots of sketchy people walking around at night. One positive note, another parent asked if they could serve breakfast an hour early (6am) due to our tournament and they were happy to accommodate.

"Gross and rude"

Room smelled of musty old socks, lady at counter was rude and could have cared less about anyone. The poor elderly couple cleaning the rooms couldn't keep up. Hair dryer didn't work, not the cleaning people's fault. Management and head quarters needs to update this place ASAP. Floor had stains all over, lord knows what it was. Will never stay there again. Left after one night and went to a different hotel.

My sons and I stayed at the BW Salisbury to break up a long road trip. The room was clean and the pool was refreshing. Not welcome were the thugs who were circling the property several times like sharks to minnows. They tried to get into the pool area, but it was locked. They disappeared behind the abandoned building next door. I know this is a college town, but that night, it sure as heck didn't feel like it.

"Long Over Due Renovations"

Hotel has many issues, room wasn't cleaned, reservations was lost, and room had an old smell to it, breakfast was a joke, no effort was put into which so ever. Just like any hotel chain you have your hits and misses this was surely a miss......For the record I stayed in room 244, clock and trash was behind the night stand, and Im quite sure its still there.

"Poop"

There was poop everywhere I walked in my room and there were poop stains on the walls and bed. I wouldn't never stay here again! You shouldn't either the pool was dirty and a lot of geese making noises. The cops got called next store and had a lot of yelling. Glad to help have a nice day

To begin the girl working the front desk was extremely welcoming. She made us a pot of coffee because it was 9pm and we had been on the motorcycle all day and was cold and wet from rain! When we got to the room we were happy the room was very clean.... Tastefully decorated. Area maybe not the best but felt safe at the hotel. :)

Hotel ran out of towels. Others in our group had issues such as shower not working properly, broken towel rack, door not locking properly, a/c not working, etc. Staff were in uniform (polo shirt/pants), but appearance was sloppy looking.

"No offer for extended stay"

I would have been staying there for over 3 months due to business but was not offered any extended stay options. The front desk were not expedient about helping you and would answer the phone while you had to wait. The motel was noisy and a lot of cooking out in the parking lots with late night partying and arguing while I tried to rest.

Hotel is kind enough to allow dogs. They have a nice area around the hotel for walking the pups. Very clean hotel with access to multiple places to dine. Your hotel door opens to the outside but I did not feel security was an issue. I would stay here again while visiting the area.

Very good worth stopping. We had 2 dogs it was decent prices ok $10.00 for each dog were on our way back from Outer Banks stopped here in Salisbury to eat and sleep. Would def stop again. We are at Evolution Public House def worth stopping food excellent entertainment just AWSOME had a nice time and we were just passing through.

The staff was rude and kept saying they could not help. I was told my stay would be $701 which turned into $779 in the end. I checked in before 3, not being told this was a problem or a 64 dollar charge, instead told there was an incidental charge built in that would be refunded at time of check-out even though everything was on a credit card. Pure scam. The rooms are nothing like the pictures and the police were there almost every night. I travel for business 40 weeks a year and this was one of if not the most overpriced, poorly staffed and disappointing hotel stay in many years. For you own safety and financial peace of mind, this is one to avoid at all cost!

We booked our room through Priceline express deals ( I need to learn to not trust Priceline as much as I have in the past). The room met our expectations for a two star hotel. It was clean and affordable and had the amenities that you would expect but the room was small and workers were pounding on something in the next to us before 9:00 AM. This left a bad impression on us.

Basic accomodations and good for a short stay. The rooms open to the outside rather than a hallway - so if that's not your thing, this isn't your hotel. The hotel is older, but was clean and comfortable for my one night stay

"Awful"

I plan on contacting your main head quarters when I return home. The room was not very clean I have picture of black mold in the tub and dirt in the corners. The TV only played 5 channels the rest of the channels were just static lines. I called for pillows they said they had no additional on site. We arrived the next morning to have breakfast our room had a sign Weekend breakfast 6-10 AM. We arrived down stairs along with other guests and were told it ended at 9 AM. To be honest if we were not so fatigued we would have left and went elsewhere. We have stayed in several Best westerns and never experienced this before.

The good stuff .. Room was very clean , but did still smell musty . The staff was beyond nice and extremely helpful . If they were to update the property I could understand their rates . But it's very out dated and needs a good paint job at least .

This hotel only offered outside access rooms. It was clean, but could use some tidying and repair. Trim off in the bathroom, outside door was drafty. The parking lot had trash and LOTS of cigarette butts. Dead plants the flower pots and weeds growing. it needs some maintenance. BUT, it was more reasonably priced than others in the area.

This is a good basic room, with a decent breakfast for kids while serving as a base for exploring the Delmarva peninsula. 20 mins to Ocean City, downtown is a few minutes away, Chicoteague is about an hour away.

Stayed here for the night on our way to NC from VT. Nothing fancy, but the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Including tax, the room was $70. Great water pressure in the shower. Free breakfast was perfect to get us going. No elevator, so ask for the first floor if that's a problem for you

I loved the new breakfast bar they had. The breakfast man was really nice. I was also happy to see that they had a little fitness center so I could get in my cardio while on the road. Housekeepers were friendly and my room was nice. I look forward to returning when the outdoor pool is open.

I was happy to have stayed at this hotel. It looked a little overwhelming with all the construction workers but they are doing a lot of renovation work it seems. The men were putting in new carpet in the room next to mine. I look forward to seeing the final product. THe breakfast was great and the rooms were really clean.

This is the second time we've stayed here. It is a great location, very cheap, pretty clean and accepts our dog. Free breakfast included! This hotel is fairly quiet, although if possible get a room on the second floor. Ours was on the first floor this year and we could regularly hear people arriving and unloading their cars in to the wee hours of the morning.

As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised by the surfeit of sundry, delectable breakfast options -- multifarious and variegated, even for the finest of connoisseurs. The housekeeper who serviced my room was of a vivacious disposition and excelled at her job. checked in and was given a room that had feces on the sheets, then received a room that had pubic hair in the shower and garbage behind bed. Room smelled and rug was damp. Had to check out early due to filth don't waste your money there is a Hamptons Inn down the street clean and you will have a wonderful stay. Don't listen to the management response that they are renovating staff told me its been taking years.

Excellent value and very quiet. I recommend this hotel to all. The pool wasn't open yet but it appears to be well maintained. Lobby decor is very tastefull and the breakfast included bisquits, fresh fruit.

When I first checked in the lady at the counter was very rude asked her a question she gave me a smart remark went to my room everything was good the first night the second night around 5 o'clock in the morning somebody try to walk in they gave my room to somebody else while I was still in it will never come back again and never went back to sleep that night

Didn't even get to check into my room and experienced rude and unprofessional attitude from the front desk. When I asked about charges that I did NOT authorize they basically called me an idiot! Did not appreciate being called "hunny" by the staff at all, very inappropriate!! I chose to go to another place based just on their first expression of customer service . If they will fraudulent charge me for unauthorized purchases what else would they steal from me?

Front desk staff LOUD AND RUDE! Clean up people are THIEVES. Stole my friends slippers and left her flip flops in the room. DIRTY LINEN LEFT IN THE ROOM, AND ONLY ONE BED CLEANED. Housekeepers UNKEPT APPEARANCE with dirty and wrinkled clothes.

I was exhausted after traveling around America. My work demanded a lot out of my mind and body. Considering all this, I came to Salisbury for a break. The staff at Best Western gave me a lot of interesting information about the history of Salisbury and they also gave me practical advice about how to get rid of my stress. We stayed one night and arrived at 10pm. The night person was super friendly despite having to work in Christmas. Quite a joy. The hotel looks like it's recently done some renovations. They allowed pets for $10. Our room was relatively clean except for a long black hair in the towels. The room had a new tv, fridge and microwave. The only complaint was a strong musty odor in the room. If we weren't so tired we would have asked to switch rooms. Breakfast was decent...waffles, cereal, eggs and biscuits. The coffee was surprising good. Overall not a bad stay except for the musty odor. We would give it another try but the musty, moldy smell again could be a deal breaker.

I sincerely apologize for the musty smell. Once we replace carpeting and do the other renovations we have planned that should all disappear. We look forward to seeing you again.

The customer service at this hotel is extremely helpful and the rooms are incredible. I really didnt expect the best out of this hotel since it was a good rate but little did i know its an excellent hotel and close to everything.

Very comfortable stay and throughout the trip we were informed about everything, the weather, the places to visit. On one specific instance when one of my family members fell sick, the hotel staff went to the extent to giving us medication. This act of kindness was very appreciated.

The rooms were clean but were in need of updating. The front lobby had recently been completely updated and was very nice. All the staff we encountered were friendly and accommodating if we needed any help. The free breakfast was average but fresh.

my stay at the best western was very good. the staff was very polite and helpful the room was clean and i think the hotel is in a really good location. I would recommend this establishment to others. Will use the best western again

not going to beat around the bush ,first of all the room was nasty, hair on the pillows an sheets,the yellow skirting was dirty,an the one on the bed,mirrows nasty hair on the bathroom floor, an behind the door, nasty curtins raggy lamps carpet stinks an mold everywhere,head board leaning false advertising the rooms look nothing like the photos on line,the place is a dump,an to top it off bedbuggs an the fat lady up front after we told her what the problem was an we were checking out she had a nerve to get smart ive seen better barnyards than this filthy just filthy no tv guide in room I would never recommend this hotel to a dog.

We are very sorry to read your bad review of our hotel. However, we have our supervisory housekeeping staff double check each room to ensure that it is in excellent condition for our guests to stay. We have no record of ANYONE at all claiming any of these complaints that you have included, nor have we had anyone by your name having stayed at our hotel in either October or November. We have a log book with each complaint logged and filed that we must we record, and we have not had a single complaint that matches your description. As general manager, I am made aware of each and every complaint along with it being recorded in the official, required Best Western Corporate Incident Report Book. I review any complaint and resolve it in a timely fashion but these incidents did not take place at this property. I have results from the Wicomico County Health Department inspection in October to reassure that our property has been entirely mold free. Also, I have official inspection reports that show that our property is entirely free of bed bugs. Professional exterminators thoroughly inspect and treat each room preventatively on a weekly basis. We have not had any claims of bed bugs. We take this matter very seriously. Clean room, great service, OK breakfast. Why pay more? The people at the desk are warm and considerate. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I do not think there is a better value for a hotel. Highly recommended.

"Just an ok place"

Upon checking in, I found the carpets to be dirty, found boxers and combs laying under sink(no way could they have vacuumed the room before I got there) and had a musty smell. mold on soap dish. Next morning, bathroom flooded out from water leaking through vent on ceiling.

I do know that you reported the water leak and it was found to be due to the guest in room above you leaving their shower curtain out while showering and the water seeping down. I wish you would have reported the other two items so, that we may of had a chance to correct the issue while you were in-house. I hope you will come back to stay with us again after we have completed our planned renovations. Which includes among many things new carpeting through out the hotel.

Nothing special here. Older Motel turned into a Best Western. All entrances to rooms from exterior. Poorly lit parking area. Breakfast nothing to write home about. The staff however were very pleasant and professional. Kudos to the staff for trying to make my stay pleasant.

Let me start by saying the location of this Hotel was good and the price was a bargain. It's near many restaurants and shops. I would not consider staying here more than two days. Strong musty odor in room. Room needs to be remodeled....old carpet. I will look elsewhere for my next trip.

Stayed 1 night 10/17. I read the reviews after booking through Trip Advisor and was so nervous! When I arrived, the lobby was really nice and Kelly greeted me with a very friendly "Hello, welcome to Best Western" and immediately my fears were calmed. Fast check in, and she even told me where to find some great food & beer! BUT THAT QUICKLY CHANGED. I was placed in room 160, and upon entering, my breath was taken away by an overwhelming smell of "wet dog". There was what appeared to be animal hair and stains on the chairs and stains on the gold linens they use for decoration. I later found a wine glass under the bed which had stuff still in it. In the morning I knocked something behind the bed and went to retrieve it only to find a dog harness & toy and a carpet that looked like it hadn't been vacuumed for months!! For the price I paid and the crappy room with nothing more than a "sorry about that", I absolutely will never stay here again, nor recommend this place to anyone. This "recycled motel" really does not deserve to have Best Western attached to it. NEW OWNERS - Your front desk person was amazing, but you need to FIRE your cleaning people!

Be careful not to use their Rates.com Best Western subsidiary as they charge a $25 service fee for each reservation. This on top of inordinately high room rates at this BW-Salisbury MD location makes it a very expensive stop-over

Often times it is cheaper to book with the hotel directly than to go through those third party sites because by the time you pay their fees you usually end up paying more than the actual hotel rate.

"Disgusting "

Worst conditions I've ever seen in a hotel room. Dirty sheets hair everywhere and the sink water came out dark brown. Was afraid to touch anything or walk barefoot on the carpet . All other hotels were booked up so slept in my car. I don't recommend this place

I almost always use the BW Brand of hotels when I travel...I've been staying at the BW Salisbury Plaza exclusively for the last 12+ months when I'm on the Eastern Shore (every 8-10 weeks)...it's only 35 minutes away from Ocean City which is a plus. It's not a Plus or Premier version of the brand but it's a great hotel to stay at in the area with reasonable rates.

Just a bed for the night. The rooms had the smell of an old motel. The carpets was dirty. Walked over the damp carpet in to the wet bathroom florr and the floor got dirty from the dirt you picked up over Your trip over the carpet. Noisy and not very good aircondition.

Great experience and cordial manner shown by the staff. The room was nicely kept and full of towels with clean sheets. The A/C worked fine and the bed was very comfortable for a good night sleep. Very satisfied and would highly recommend. Would stay there again, upon my next visit to Ocean City, MD.
