SureStay Plus by Best Western Sacramento Cal Expo

Coming in late from being on the road for almost four hours you would expect a friendly face and smile to greet you but not here. This woman mumbled and was just rude.

Terrible customer service Black woman in the reception was super rude And told me to park my car somewhere else Or else she refused to get me checked inn Not to mention the deposit and parking charge she was trying to charge me that wasn't mentioned in the contract with expedia

The room and very dirty floors and the hot water heater was non-existent and the USB ports and all the lamps were gone and they were stab marks in the headboard I'm not sure from what but it look like little spots of blood

This has to be the worst Best Western I've ever been in. I travel for work and the moment I walked in the lobby I knew we would be staying in a flea bag. The staff just added to the level of disappointment. Broken ice makers, poor repairs, maintenance, we didn't even looknat breakfast because we knew what to expect based on the overall property. All we wanted to do was wake up early and get out of this nasty place.

If you're traveling alone or with family this place is one of the worst to stay I don't care how cheap it is I will never stay here again beside the room being disgusting and nothing working the outside it worse hookers drug addicts out all hours of the night it was horrible

This hotel had rather clean rooms which is contrary to the reviews I have been reading. Also, the service was good, I requested and extra pillow because there were only 3 given for 2 adults. The pillow was brought up quickly. The bed is on the stiff side and there is a lot of road noise if that bothers you. Further, some of the other reviews complain about issues with the deposit. I have had no issue with getting my deposit back. There are a lot of what looks like long-term stay residents in this hotel. When taking a glance into their rooms It appears that they don't keep them very clean and smoke near the room. This may be why they there are issues with the deposit per some of the other reviews. I would not bring my family to this location but for a one-night stay it was fine.

This place was disgusting! The pictures do not look like the rooms at all. There was one ice machine that was broken during my entire stay. The place was littered with garbage. I was afraid to leave my room because there was always loud unruly people outside. It was so bad, I left early.

SureStay Sacramento was a great experience! It was clean, everything worked, the staff were all awesome, and it was a totally worthwhile value! The breakfast was a nice touch. It's got a great location.

The lady Sonja whom checked me out in the morning was rude an obnoxious. I asked to speak with the manager and was denied. I also was giving a key by just walking up saying my last name and room number the clerk Sonja never checked my ID just gave me access to my room. That is a very big security breach!!!

The room was clean minus some paint left on the floor. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. I really have no complaints about my stay. Putting more than 2 towels would be nice just in case but other than that and the paint, everything was great

Lumpy pillows, no washcloths, handle on sink faucet was missing, faint ring in the toilet,residents up all hours of the night talking loudly outside, cars in parking lot blaring music. Pretty sure there was a stolen car on the lot (no plates & the car didn't move the 3 days we were there) 1st day of breakfast was ok. Luke warm potatoes & sausage links with cereal and yogurt and waffles. 3 guys from a local company( t-shirt had the company advertised) had breakfast ( pretty sure they weren't staying there) and 1 came in and started cursing an older black man. 2nd day of breakfast had luke warm sausage links with coagulated grease on them, scrambled eggs. They ran out of yogurt and milk. The milk was eventually replenished. I asked for washcloths and was told they'd be delivered to my room and they never were. And the key cards were de-activated on a daily basis. I will never stay at any budget motel again

Rundown property, breakfast room dirty and unkept, terrible room maintenance, area did not feel safe. Room was clean enough, but shampoo and soap was non existent, only one towel , no bath mat, hand towels or facecloths.

Seemed like the bathroom wasn't ventilated so going #2 was weird. Smelled like cigs the moment we walked in. A sleep timer option on the TV would be nice. The floors were definitely not clean (bathroom and bedroom sections), especially in the corners. The bedding had stains on it so did not use the pillows or sheets. Remote felt like it wasn't wiped and just placed on counter. Toilet seat was not tightened so it shifted as used. The shower curtain had stains on it. Positives would be the great internet, inexpensive price, and multiple outlets. A full body mirror would be nice too, and actual bath towels! We requested them at the front, but the front desk said they would be brought up. No one showed up. We also requested hand soap, but the front gave body wash. When we entered the room, there were no bath towels, only a floor mat and hand towels. There was a coat hanging section but also no hangers.

The experience was terrible. Hotel was in a weird location. Staff was rude and staff who helped restock breakfast did so after touching trash cans and did so without washing hands. Room also had dirty bedding and no towels upon arrival. When replaced we got a blanket with numerous cigarette burn holes.

Room was not very clean walls were stained and a vast majority of people at this hotel are staying long term. TV remote back was missing and had been replaced with tape. In room phone was dirty. Lack of attention to detail. Room was overall not very clean. Cleaning staff not available to clean room when requested. Towels were never replaced over a 4 night stay. Had to request towels from front desk every day and twice I was informed there were no clean towels available. Everyday I was there the Key card had to be reactivated. People smoking weed on the stairs every afternoon.

I see a lot of negative reviews but I had a perfectly fine stay, at least for one night. Everything was clean, only real issues were some flies, understuffed/flat pillows, and a leaking mini fridge. Didn't feel unsafe, though I wasn't outside after 11:30pm or so. Not too bad a stay for a 2-star hotel.

That's what certainly is one of the best places that I've ever stayed with that quality Of service and breakfast too What more could a person ask for the best place if you are going through Sacramento or any other place

The pool has strings of ... snot? ... and dirt floating around; the rooms were very worn; the bed uncomfortable; and two of us only had one towel for showering and swimming and could not get another for love nor money.

Tbh everything is very nasty not clean at all ask for clean towels and sheets for three hours but nothing got done the room says none smoke and it's smells like someone smoking inside they wanted to move us 2 times but everything is the same by the way we never got clean sheets

I felt very unsecured. Hotel cleanliness was very poor and bad odor. I request for non smoking but got smoking one. Rude staff and didn't recommend for family. People are smoking at every corner of hotel and not a safe environment.

There was no one at the reservation desk when we went to check in. We waited for more than 30 minutes and still no one was there. When we called Best Western customer service, we were informed that we have to be more patient. The entire hotel was filthy, unclean, unkempt and was strewn with litter, cans, bottles. We saw people were sleeping on the walkways/hallways of the hotel. There were no bath towels/hand wash towels in the room. We were informed that due to a wedding all towels were utilized. We spoke to the Hotel General Manager after we left and instead of an apology, we were informed that we should have vacated the hotel if we did not like the hotel. This was not a family friendly hotel, and our experience was bad. We have stayed at Best Western Hotels earlier and this one no way comes near the Best Western quality Standards. I would recommend that Best Western Senior management reconsider the franchise arrangements with the property owner. Has Best Western lowered the standards.

A 17-year-old was shot there last night during a "room party"; callers reported hearing at least 5 to 6 gunshots, causing panic and chaos within the hotel premises. 2 weeks ago, 2 people were stabbed. It's not a bad neighborhood, and it's no longer a homeless shelter, but they seem to have bad guests.

At all everything that we were there was not good so anyway I already shared my experience that we were there we had really bad day and night there and was so confused that no one help as no good customer service

Left my Fitbit and charger… turned in by room service… when we went to pick it up we were told that any item a guest leaves behind becomes hotel property. Corporate called them and management refused to return their phone calls… the item seems to have disappeared even though we were told by honest staff that it was ‘safe' in the managers locked office. What goes around comes around. Looks like corporate needs to clean house and get honest management.

I enjoyed my stay here, My only concern was the hair all over the bedding, luckily i brought my own with me. Front desk attendant was very friendly, they offer breakfast. best part was the very hot steamy clean shower

The hotel is old and needs several upgrades. I asked for an extra key and was told they didn't have enough to offer. It was impossible to bypass the infinity cable. The beds were extremely high off the ground and felt like would fall out of the bed. The breakfast selection was bleak and there wasn't any creamer or stevia or any other sugar substitute.

I am a loyal Best Western (BW) guest, who has over 50 year of various experiences. The highlight of my SureStay Plus Hotel By Best Western Sacramento Cal Expo was the gracious lady who manages the breakfast like she invited you to her home for breakfast. She is a gem-professional, courteous, polite and especially makes each guest feel welcome and delighted. SureStay stay are usually a very attractive delightful experience. SureStay Plus Hotel By Best Western Sacramento Cal Expo was without a doubt the 50 year worst stay I have ever experienced. The SureStay is a tired well passed remodeling nightmare. The staff is not professional or polite-training may help? You stay is nothing special to the front desk and a guest is not felt to be welcomed. More of a staff attitude what do you want? The hotel is an overpriced "Spartan Rough" hotel on par with inferior hotel chains. overpriceds a tired run-down hotel which is overridden by personal safety concerns. It appears to be a drug dealers haven and you better set the dead bolt and latch for ones personal security. My after dark check in was unnerving. I will never stay at this "Dump" SureStay Plus Hotel By Best Western Sacramento Cal Expo again. Most Sincerely, K. Doyle

Not a bad place to stay, Indian restaurant on site, food was good, bed was good, just a little out of the way for my liking. But ok, value for money I thought. Sure have stayed in a lot worse, I would stay again

The rooms were falling apart, dirty, stains on every surface. The front desk agent moved me to a second room and it was just as bad. There were blood stains on the bedding, and dried vomit on the wall near the trash can. I left without staying the night.

This place needs to get it together... No power to our 1st room, 2nd room was better but this is definitely 2nd rate. Room smelled like smoke, shower was not great either, property was a little sketchy and needs security.

We got the king size bed in room 270. It was as noisy as the world's worst rusted springs on the universe. Never have I've been so surprised by the squawk of a beautiful big bed in all my 62 years on this planet.

The staff are all extremely unhappy. The room was DISGUSTING. sheets were stained, dirty fingerprints on door, light switches, tv remote was greasy and gross. The light for the vanity mirror was an auto light, the light stayed on ALL NIGHT.

Towels were stained, there was a hole in the bathroom door, coffee maker was filthy, the remotes were sticky. The staff was not very welcoming. It was quiet though. Just wish it had been cleaner. Best Western generally has nice facilities.

I've been a Best Western reward member for nearly 30 years. I have stayed in some shady places but this one takes the cake. I booked it from another state and the pictures do not represent what you get. If you want to “slum it” and have the full ghetto experience with hookers, eh I mean paid companions… a couple of drug dealers, eh I mean private pharmaceutical entrepreneurs and homeless people living there, eh I mean permanent hotel residents as neighbors, then this is your place! The rooms were filthy and so is the parking lot. I worried about my rental car and left a day early because it was such an awful place. I hoped the breakfast would make up for the rest of it but no, they ran out of coffee. Not much selection but the people who live there will hang out with you in the breakfast room. I flew in to see my dad in the hospital and was very disappointed that my hotel experience put more stress on me.

Cockroaches! Floors were dirty with crumbs and dirt. Bathroom had hairs in the tub and floor. Second bed missing blankets and could not get help from the front desk after several phone calls. Check in/out and breakfast room staff friendly.

I am told this is one of the least expensive places to stay in Sacramento. I only stayed here as some of the family I was visiting was already staying there. The property owner could go a LONG way to improve the conditions of the grounds (at very least regularly empty trash cans so they are not excessively overflowing - maybe pick up trash left around the pool, etc.). I have to say the room was clean and they have good pillows! One of the beds had clearly been in existence for a very long time with the divet in the middle of one side of the mattress. It's a low price but you just have to be prepared to maybe get breakfast or maybe not (they can run out of food less than one hour in). The staff are pretty friendly for the most part and willing to help you if they can. It's not really close to any food places. I would suggest getting a room not facing the parking lot (if you do you have a good shot to be entertained ALL NIGHT by people in their cars playing very loud music).

This hotel was a scary hotel. Didn't feel safe day or night. The cleanliness of this hotel was filthy !! I had to go buy my own cleaning chemicals to even shower what what water pressure I had that also is a joke !! Never will I recommend this hotel to anyone..

Another guest punched me in the face when i asked them to lower there voice. When i tried to discuss with staff — ACting Mgr, HOPE, interrupted me constantly when i tried to provide details…, then she yelled at me along with another staff member.

Alicia and Seth at the front desk were very helpful and made sure I was happy and content with my stay would 100% recommend the room I stayed in had a nice fresh clean smell and all of the sheets and bedding were fabulous

People here friendly courteous and helpful. No problems. Just area made my wife nervous. Amenities were fine. Other guests kids seemed to enjoy the pool. I'm not a big pool person so I didn't use it. I saw security personnel on sight which I think calmed my wife. They looked like they we're talking with others guests while we were eating dinner. Food was delicious and well priced for the quality and amount.

Outside looks terrible but inside was nice until you pull back the sheets or unfold the towels. They are stained. And it took taking to 3 service people to get it changed. The chair in the room was heavily stained. The property need a power wash.

We arrived with a reservation and were given a room with a very dirty floor and a room phone that was not working so that we couldn't call for issues. We felt we had to wear shoes from bed to the bathroom. We were given another room which was great. The hotel has some upgrades but floors, hallways, common areas and windows are very dirty. Outdoor garbage bin lids are very dirty with a buildup of grime. For breakfast they ran out of plates after the first dozen people went through. The garbage was full when the breakfast opened at 7:00 so hadn't been emptied from the previous use. Our key cards quit working on the second day and replacement did not work. The staff let us into our room with a master key while they sorted the issue. Overall it is the buildup of dirt and the disorganization that prevents me from wanting to return. Although it has a good price and newly renovated rooms, I do not recommend this property.

Dirty room, dirty parking lot. Felt unsafe. Not very good handicapped rooms. Won't be staying here again. Floors were black, I had to mop floor or the room and clean toilet. Motel was loud with noisy people. Not very secured. I do have to say the gentleman checking us in was very polite and informative about the motel and did give us a new room after the first one we declined due to being dirty but the second room was no better.

This is by far the worst hotel. I read all the comments prior to booking and all the negative comments were addressed by manager stating they would be corrected. Well I can assure you to this date none of them have. We called for an extra towel since there are two guest in a room they said they would provide them and never brought them. Now they don't answer at the front desk either. I found a smoked cigarette on my floor a empty caprisun on the counter and all the face towels had gross stains on them. As well as the single drying towel we had. The shower curtain has stains as well making it a very dirty place to stay super disgusted DO NOT STAY HERE!

I enjoyed it everyone was helpful and nice the check in process was very simple and easy it was easy to find my room everyone was having fun in the pool. The room was great beds were comfortable I really enjoyed the beds

they need to work or hire a new team to clean inside the room and outside the trash cans are full of trash and the floor dirty .i find a chicken bones in front of my room .also i wait for my deposit back to my credit card they say 3 to seven days.i use besrt western hotels this is the only who i dont recommend

The rooms were dirty we had to wear socks so our feet would not get dirty because they became black, they only gave us one towel to share between the four people in our room. The maid we dealt with was very rude and not helpful.We had a handicap room and when we took a shower the bathroom became flooded all the way to the bedroom are and it was so slippery you couldn't even walk.

Would never stay there again. Ran by unprofessional young people. People are living there. Garbage outside of rooms. Fighting at 11p.m to 12, called desk no answer. Someone yelling go to bed. Plunged our own toilet. Terrible place to stay.

The room was gross, with disgusting stains on some of the pillows and sheets. The comforter was ripped and also had stains. The room smelled of marijuana, and there was some sort of residue on the mirror and clock. The hot tub was so dirty, you could barely see through the water, but what you could see was an empty can sitting on the bottom. The bubbles also didn't work. (Not that I would have used it anyway.)

I checked into room 159 on 5/17/22 at 3:47 pm. at the Sure Stay Cal Expo in Sacramento CA. When I went to shower I realized there wasn't any hot water. I contacted the from desk and was advised they thought the water issue was resolved. The only option I was giving was to stay or leave. I left. If they check the log for door or the cameras they would see that I never returned. I called this morning to speak with a manager because there wasn't one available yesterday. I was offered a 10% discount for a room in which that I didn't stay. This is completely unacceptable.

Definitely not worth your money. The room smelled and the room was overall dirty. The guest service was terrible. Please avoid this hotel if you are looking for higher quality. This room was definitely not worth the price.

There was a shooting that happened there during my stay, dirty walls, toilet flooded and I killed a roach in the room. Only good I can say about this place is they really go all out for the breakfast. I will definitely pass on this one.

The hotel itself was a good experience, and I was fortunate to get a room further away from the freeway next door so traffic noise was mitigated. I found the room was clean, though perhaps the towels had been overlooked when changing between guests. Covid protocols meant that daily housekeeping was not done, though I'm sure that had a need arisen it would have been dealt with. To paraphrase the words of a former governor, I'd be back.

I don't have any problems they found my reservation explains me everything time for breakfast, check out time where is locate everything, awesome breakfast was full breakfast, pool clean, this places was so quiet

The desk staff were rude and racist. I arrived early after driving and was told check in was 3:00. I waited outside in the rain until 2:51. I was "reminded" that check in was at 3:00. A bougie white woman went in at 2:58 and they checked her in right away ahead of me. I put on my reservation that there would be 2 adults in the room and we were left one set of towels for a two night stay. Pillows were inadequate as well and the laundry guy very graciously provided me with extra pillows and towels (I forgot his name). Cathy in the Breakfast bar was amazing. The desk staff should be replaced by robots. There was mildew on the walls and in the bathroom. The floors had just been mopped (I watched the housekeeper mopping) and my socks were black after walking around for a few minutes. Put a white towel (no bathmat) down on the floor in the bathroom and it was black after stepping out of shower and absorbing dirt off the floor. The noise in the parking lot by your pot-smoking employees listening to very loud music, powerwashing right outside the door after surgery after being told I was sleeping and filthy water came flushing under door. I do not expect hospital cleanliness... but no mildew and no filthy water flushing under the door by stoned employees would be nice. Also, a clean mop would solve dirty floors. I took pictures if you are interested The food and service at the Pakistan Restaurant were superior - how did they get stuck in your hotal?

The moment I walked into my first room, something seemed off. As I looked around, the bed looked like it hadn't been made, there was a key card left in the room, the refrigerator was filthy with some dried juice that spilled not only in the fridge but outside of it too, the toilet bowl had a ring around it and the floor felt gritty like there was sand all over it. I asked for another room and the staff kindly obliged but sadly, this room was no better. The sink was dirty and had hair around it, there was what looked like a wine stain on the dresser and inside the refrigerator and the floor clearly had not been swept not only because it too felt gritty but because I also saw things on the floor that wouldn't be there if it had been swept. My second room was towards the back of the hotel and the garbages out there were overflowing. The grounds did not look well kept and I honestly did not feel comfortable in the rooms given or at the hotel in general. The idea of coming back there at night alone left me feeling very uncomfortable. That in addition to the rooms being dirty had me do something I've never done before: check out and leave within an hour of checking in. I will speak to whoever I have to to get my money back.

Not a safe area and other customers were a little unnerving. I would not recommend this hotel at all. The young lady who checked us in was more interested in paying for and getting her dinner than helping us.

DONT NOT STAY HERE. There were cigarette burns in the sheets, the floor was disgusting and dirty, there were NO towels when we arrived and when I called to ask for one the clerk said “I'm literally about to clock out, I can't help you.” Also not the best people staying there, at least for a safe family environment. The lady and guy next door were, well screwing super loud with the window curtains open and screaming gospel until 3 am. Just what I wanted my children to fall asleep too.

First room given was littered with garbage and old food, filthy floors, messed up beds. (Room 260). Second room given (room 213) had unplugged and filthy refrigerator filled with old food, no porker paper, no towels, old wires in the counter, a phone that didn't work. We were desperate and stayed since there were clean sheets on the beds. Left asap early the next morning. This place is filthy and ghetto.

Rooms are not cleaned properly and the front desk staff was not as friendly as they should be. I probably should have just checked into another place after the first night however I was just to lazy plus my family lived closer to surestay than others

i dont think honestly I'll ever come back to that property. so many hidden fees. the hotel is super ghetto and pretty much trashed out, they have some disrespectful employees. Where's the BBB when we need them?! i'll never stay here again nor will my family!!!

This hotel is filthy! Stains on the bedspread, and blood on the sheets. Urine in the toilet. No towels. Smashed cockroach on the wall. The staff moved me to another room, that was slightly better. Stay Away.

front desk staff trevor was super friendly and informative. my room was clean and comfortable, internet was really fast and they had full breakfast which was really nice and great selection of food. overall great stay

the desk staff was very friendly, as well as housekeeping. my room was clean and the bed was really comfortable, usually i have to ask for pillows but nope! i had a room with two queen beds and each got four! that was nice to see. deffinitly will be reurning

Staff was very friendly. They gave me directions to get to the nearest store. Room was clean check in was fast and easy. The internet was really fast and worked really well. Housekeeping was also very kind and gave me some extra supplies

front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming upon check in, I requested a specific area of the hotel for easier access and they were able to accommodate my needs which was very nice of them. the internet was really fast and the tv was fairly large and had a great selection of channels. Breakfast was good as well

The staff was very nice and helped us go to our room after a long day. The room was nice and clean and the bed was the perfect place to go after such a long trip. Desk staff was friendly when I asked for directions to nearby stores!

I ordered delivery and it was stolen. I was really sick and staff would not check me in. They laughed at me and gave me a big dirty bed. They overcharged me $100. No manager is ever around to refund it. The staff is a joke. Seedy people live there. No customer service.

Bad, bad, bad. Not up to the Best Western name. Trash piled up outside doors, Non made up rooms. Street types, permanently living in rooms. Unkept grounds, over full trash cans, spilling over. walkways with broken concrete, trip hazards, loose debris in bath tub. punched hole in bath door was filled, but never sanded smooth, marks on walls, peeling paint, key didn't work

Room was 50 yards from a noisy freeway. Room wasn't “cleaned” until 2 hours after check-in. No pillows on the bed, so I asked cleaning staff for some, an hour later I called desk on my cell because the room phone was not working and asked for pillows. Another hour later I finally just went down to the front desk and less than politely asked again for pillows and told them about the previous 2 attempts. Finally they had them brought to the room. The wall right next to the bed was filthy and obviously missed or ignored by cleaning staff. Candy wrappers found on the floor next to the bed. In addition to the phone not working, the usb plugs next to the bed were also busted and pushed into the wall and one of the wall outlets just didn't work. Overall, terrible location, sketchy area, indifferent staff and way sub-par cleanliness standards. Will never stay here again. 0/10

Everyone at the front desk and houskeeping was very friendly and helped me make sure i had everything i needed during my stay. rooms werecleaned propperly and the hotel was in a great location for shopping and food. will be returning again

Front desk was nice and respectful room was nice and clean, internet was really fast and great destination. I requested pillows and I got them delivered fairly fast! The room was all clean and had both a fridge and microwave. For the price payed it was super nice and will definitely come back.

If I could give less that one star I most definitely would. Jaydin the front desk manager either needs to be fired to take some hospitality course. She was so rude - no 'hello - welcome to BW, how are you' nada just a 'yes' Like what were we doing there disturbing her. She flatly refushed any kind of extension to checkout - later a very nice Victoria gave us a 1 hr extension (friend running CIM). No complimentary water bottles I should have received. Jaydin gave us first of all the crapiest room available - no shower curtain, dirty toilet, window open because of the terrible smell. Walked right back to her and said this room is not acceptable. She gave us another room - way better, cleaner and remodeled (sticky floor). Only thing was housekeeping forgot to wash the sink - toothpast in it. A kind Wesley from the front went and cleaned it out for us. Forget any kind of breakfast - it's a bag of processed crap. Butts everywhere, dirty property with garbage all over. I can't believe BW would have their name to such a shi-tty property with Jaydin as their FD manager. Oh, when I was checking in and asked for her name (no name tag) she told me it was MARY - Lier! Only when I checked out she had a name tag telling her true name. Best Western you need to do something with this woman whom calls herself Mary or Jaydin that you hire to be your FD manager and clean up this place with you want decent people staying there. I will think twice before using a BW again and most definitely read the reviews beforehand.

Overnight attendants needs customer service classes, because that display of disrespect and name calling should have gotten him fired asap………..Who try's to turn away a single mother with 2 kids @ 2am?

This place is a absolute dump. Why anyone would voluntarily stay there is beyond me. Understand they have contracted to house homeless people and the people on the property and the overall condition of the hotel certainly reflects that. Stay at your own risk....

EWW DON'T STAY HERE.. One of the nastiest rooms I've ever dated in. Sticky sticky floors stained sheets broken TV and fridge. No towls. And the sheets. I'm almost postive they where not changed. I could get the sec stain to show in a pic. Look how black my feet got walking to the toilet and back. And my poor child. He feet are covered in stuff. I'm amazed just how nasty these rooms are. My mother's roo. Next door is just as nasty.

Our room smelled so horrible, items in rooms where broken or falling apart. Chair in room was so filthy. Beds sheets very wrinkled. We had no towels upon check in. I received towels at 1130 pm when I asked for 2nd time. I couldn't call lobby because our phone in room didn't have a phone line. This hotel is like a party zone all night till 4 am people where out in parking lot being loud and drinking. Worst hotel stay in my life!!!

This first thing I noticed was the caution tape in the parking lot due to construction I'm assuming... I didn't see any work going on. The receptionist was friendly but not very professional. I was not directed of where to park only told that my room was in the back building facing the parkin lot. I decided to drive around to the back parking lot where I was told my room was and noticed more caution tape, lots of trash in the grounds, and sketchy people walking around. I lugged my bags up the stairs because they do not have elevators. I find my room open the door and find it totally filthy! From the floor to the mirrors, the sheets, it smelled like smoke even though it was said to be a non smoking room. I took lots of pictures, gathered my things, called the front desk to let them know I was not satisfied, headed back to my vehicle to drive to the front of the property where it looked a little less sketchy. I was given another room I requested one that would not be in the back building facing the parking lot. The second room was just okay a little cleaner than the other, it still smelled like cigarette smoke. The next night the parking lot filled up due to a party being held in the social hall the hotel triples as a hotel restaurant and banquet hall. The music went on till 1 AM and after that, I heard the water running through the pipes, babies crying, people talking while out smoking... Not a very restful night. I will not be returning to this property. I choose it due to last minute booking with a reasonable price be next time I will book early or pay more instead of dealing with service like this!

Our check in was the only pleasant part of our trip. The floor was dirty, the sheets and towels were also. I found a used washcloth in the shower The toilet needs repair also, but at least that was tolerable. If that wasn't enough, there was also a man on drugs outside my door (he fully announced it to everyone as he screamed for hours during the middle of the night, often right outside my door. This was byfar, the worst hotel experience I've ever had. We left as soon as we could the following morning.

Some rooms here need hooks/towel bars replaced. Staff is new since last visit, but they were great and raised my rating by a star. This line is just to fill the requirements of the review form, minimum 200 words.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have never left a single review about any hotel ever but our experience here was so awful that I feel the need to write this review and save whomever may be considering this hotel from a miserable, filthy experience. We had just drove six hours, checked in and I used the lobby bathroom. I was greeted by a broken beer bottle in the toilet and glass every where. It was an absolute wreck. My girlfriend said the female bathroom was too gross for her to use and that there was ripped up toilet paper and pee everywhere in the bathroom all over the floor. When we entered the room the wooden floors were so dirty we didn't even put our bags on the floor, We put them on the desk. I didn't take my socks off and they collected a plethora of dust, food crumbs, hairs etc. This place hasn't been cleaned, mopped or anything in a very long time. Hair seemed to be falling out of the outlets. The ironing board looked like someone was murdered on it. The handles to the cabinets were sticky and clearly never wiped down. We had to wash our hands immediately after touching. The vent in the bathroom had dust piling up for a LONG time. Everything was dusty and gross, I truly have never seen a hotel that dirty. You would think with COVID they'd be taking extra precautions with cleaning, but it seems like they don't clean at all. When it was finally time for us to go to sleep I got worried there could be bed bugs and looked under the mattress to check. I found a screw driver which was super creepy. Worst nights sleep ever. Noises from the parking lot were filled with fights, yelling, people clearly on drugs all hours of the night. We really thought we heard someone getting murdered upstairs above us. We didn't feel safe and basically waited and prayed for the sun to come up as fast as possible. I assure you, there is no exaggeration here. This is all real and I truly can't believe I even had to write this review. SureStay Plus… if you are reading this DO BETTER. DO NOT STAY HERE if you have any standards of cleanliness. We would have been better off sleeping in the car.

I do not recommend anyone stay in this hotel. They have zero regard for their customers. I arrived late at night, it was pouring down rain and the parking lot was not well lit. I saw several cars parked and parked next to one of them. The next morning, I go to my car and its gone. At first I thought the worst so I went to the front desk and they nonchalantly told me my car was towed and that the night manager called it in. Why? Because I wasn't supposed to park where I parked. Ok but why not notify me first? As a customer and guest of the hotel, I expect either a call or some sort of notification to allow me time to move my car if I mistakenly parked somewhere I was not supposed to. I I will never stay at this hotel again. The absolute disregard for paying customers is horrendous. Was supposed to stay here for two weeks but decided to spend my money elsewhere. Also, towels and bedding is dirty as if it hasn't been washed in a year.

There was urine on the toilet, on the floor, not an insignificant amount. The floor walking in was tacky, the walls were dirty, the sink was dirty, stains on the sheets. Obviously not cleaned in days, maybe multiple stays. It was noisy. First time I have requested a different room and I have traveled a lot, including out of the country, for years. The second room was like night and day. Very nice and cute, though still dirt on wall where bed was close to the wall. NO bugs in either room. Breakfast non-existent. We were there 8:20, we were told it was from 6-9 am. The lights were off. I acknowledge it is hard to hire cleaning staff right now, a year and a half into COVID, however, someone should be checking these rooms before giving them out. When we were there looking for breakfast, another woman was complaining about the cleanliness of her room.

This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at in my life. The grounds are filthy, hundreds of cigarette butts all over the ground under the stairs, concrete is stained & cracked, no elevators, rooms were filthy, A/C unit was clogged with lint, room had a horrible odor, towels & bath mat were stained & dirty, cobwebs just hanging from the curtain, floors & walls were stained, bathroom door was disgusting, the bathroom light above the vanity is motion sensored & would turn on all hours of the night, beds were uncomfortable, floors haven't been mopped in who knows how long, they were filthy. One garbage can in the room under the desk. I went to move it to the bathroom & had what looked like dried vomit on the rim, so I left it alone. After all that I saw, I did not try their breakfast. I have let Best Western & the manager know about my stay. I got a standard form reply back. It's nice that they respond to these reviews, but they need to do something to fix these issues.

Everything u could imagine in the room was either dirty ripped or damaged. My reservation was canceled by staff and then fixed but charged me double the price I booked it for. I'm still waiting for my refund. Don't stay here!

The rooms are really good. The beds are extremely comfortable The AC worked great It had a nice size refrigerator and microwave. Internet is fast asf Okay the only problem i had was the cleanliness of the floors. My feet turned dark lol. Its whatever. I cleaned the floors myself. Also the area is SUS. Not the hotels fault. Also some shady people be rollin through.

This place is everything I asked employees are sweet rooms are clean shower has hot water blow dryer for me and my daughter nice breakfast to go and it's in a quiet neighborhood definitely will be going back

overall very friendly and welcomng! front desk made check in process super easy and housekeeping was very kind with dropping off some extra towels. Room was nice and clean great TV with some good channels. Great experience overall!

Staying at this hotel was a gross mistake. The hallways were filled with garbage, people were sitting around smoking crack, the coffee maker was dirty, no soap, no shampoo, no coffee or drinking cups, towels were stained, floor, counters and shower were dirty, no parking due to so many people living at this hotel, there was a plastic bag around the room smoke alarm and the bed frame was broken on one side creating a 20º downward angle from the center, then they have the audacity to charge a $100 deposit!

This motel was dirty from top to bottom. Dirty sheets, we were given 2 bath towels, 1 was dirty, 1 hand towel, and 1 wash cloth, the hand towel and wash cloth weren't even folded. There were two extremely small pillows on our king sized bed. My husband called the front desk to request more pillows and more, clean towels. When we came back from dinner, the pillows and towels had not been delivered. Hubby called front desk again and was told that the clerk needed to wait until her relief came on duty for the towels, but that there were NO extra pillows in the motel. Our room was dirty. The sheets were dirty. The towels were dirty. The floor was dirty. Both mirrors were dirty. The sink and vanity were dirty. The toilet and bathtub were dirty. The bathtub had, among other things, pubic hair in it. There was hardware to hold a toilet paper holder on the wall, but there was no toilet paper holder, just toilet paper sitting on the back of the toilet. It's in a very bad neighborhood. There were drug deals going on in the parking lot and in the rooms. There were hookers in the motel. It didn't feel safe, thankfully nothing happened to us or our car.

I walked into my room and was met with the smell of human urine, observed dried blood on the sheets, and pillow cases. All the towels were extremely stained, including the floor mat, they appeared like towels homeless people would use, they were that stained. The floor had not been mopped, it was dusty and dirty. There was human hair all over the floor, under the sheets, and all over the bath tub. The toilet and tub had not been scrubbed, dirt, scum, and grim marks could be seen. I asked to moved, they sent me to a room that was dirtier, then they sent me to another room that someone else was still checked into. So I stayed in the room, but did not shower for three days, I asked the hotel to send housekeeping to clean room, they never showed up. The walkways around the entire hotel, had not been pressure washed in years, it smelled and looked like a hotel for homeless people, which there were plenty of loitering in the parking lot, outside random rooms, the smell of weed, booze, and urine permeated the air. I observed that most of the guests appeared to be living out of the hotel, and they would just throw the dirty towels outside the front door,, leaving them their overnight. Now I understand why my towels were extremely stained. They are washing the dirty towels; however, the stains are so bad, they do not come out. The hotel is too cheap to purchase new towels and sheets, opting instead to continue to provide BW members with filthy, stained linen during COVID 19. I was there for three days and did not observe housekeeping on the property. The room was not worth 24,000 points a night, more like 3,000. I cannot believe that this place is rated as a 'Plus Hotel by BW.' This hotel is a classic example of the problems associated with some franchised BW hotels; particularly, not being accountable for the cleanliness standards set by the BW franchise and sincerely addressing BW members requests and complaints whether in person or online. For example, I left a message with the hotel GM and manager but they did not respond, front desk was unempathetic to my complaints and tried to move me to two other rooms that were either dirtier or occupied by someone else, which is not in accordance with BW hotel protocol. Nevertheless, this hotel had not issues taking my money, ignoring my requests for housekeeping to come clean my room and to speak with the manager, while chanting 'we promote customer service,' in their online booking marketing ads.

The room was clean the front desk person was nice but no breakfast like the add said and we asked to get trash taken out and towels and they told us that we had to do our own trash and to get the towels in the pool area.

Terrible service stayed for one night and never will I stay here again. I might as well went to a motel 6 at least they are more respectful and clean. Looked like it was never moped . I was made a complaint to front desk bout my room floor being dirty and hair on floor by bathroom and the girl told me house keeping is gone for the day nothing they can do. The the next day I made a complaint during check out manager said they would call me with update nothing. Now I call for my update and people at the desk are playing on the phone saying they are the manager then Hang up it happened 3 time then they say manager went to the bank . !!!! Dont recommended this hotel in fact you should just go to a cheaper motel 6 or spend more money and stay at somewhere else ,Don't stay at this hotel ever !!!!!!!!!

Do not stay here. The parking lot is full of trash and garbage, vehicles were being worked on, people were smoking in the corridors and in the rooms, the room smelled bad, the water in the shower got mildly warm at best, foot/hand prints all over the walls, lights didn't work, sink faucet was broken, random calls from other guest rooms... Horrible place

The hotel is very friendly and very welcoming and have the best breakfast and they was very hopeful and then the room are very clean and comfortable the rooms are very nice and spacious and the beds are very nice.

Only stayed here ‘cause it was the cheapest, but you get what you pay for! Thankfully bright lights in parking lot to help w/potential car break-ins. But trash is everywhere & rooms are ok but towels & sheets don't appear to be clean; so bring your own… Be ready for lack of sleep cause folks hang outside all day/night… And don't mention the weed smell everywhere… I can go on & on… Hope they make major improvements cause I do like BW hotels especially the plus ones.

This motel was absolutely dirty, disgusting and deceiving from pictures online. The outside had trash all around the sidewalks. The room was dirty. Unmentionable stains on the wall and ceiling. The floor was sticky and turned your socks black on the bottom from walking around. The shower was not only dirty with what I assume (and hope) was other people's soap stain and hair, but the shower curtain was ripped. Overall I'd recommend to avoid this at all costs.

People up all night being loud & wondering property & not respectful of other guest. Most guest were tenants of the motel. Cigarette butts everywhere. Out of towels so family had to share. Tub drained slowly & floor was dirty.For the price I thought it would have been more better stay.

Room was extremely filthy, floors covered with crumbs dirt etc. No towels no toiletries. Room odor. No blankets. Toilet not flushing. Intrusive and abusive guests surrounding all sides of my room drug use with terrifyingly a gun was seen pulled out of his pants from one guest during a dispute with another outside my room window. I left immediately and did not stay the remaining 2 nights of 3 I reserved since I'm a travel nurse I had difficulty finding a room last minute and slept in my car outside of the hospital

Trash everywhere in the out along the walk way and parking lot. Not a good neighborhood. Towels were dirty, hole in my bed sheets, toilet didn't flush, shower curtain had stain. Just overall dirty and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Nothing but drug addicts smoking and drinking all night. Screaming and banging on walls and not to mention car alarms going off all night with these people who are hanging out with their friends reviving their rust buckets all night. Genuine waste of money unless you're one of the addicts it would be a wonderful place to smoke weed. That's because all everyone does is smoke weed and cigarettes in the rooms.

Disgusting, filthy room and the staff didn't even care. It states a non smoking facility, that is a lie. Our room reeked of cigarette smoke so bad that I became nauseated. The floors were black, bathroom not cleaned at all, ashes everywhere. We told the maid and she laughed at us. Told management from our cell because the phone in the room was covered is sticky film, no dial tone and missing buttons. They gave us another room that was just slightly better. Attempted to find another hotel but everything was booked. The grounds had garbage everywhere and Check in and room Conditions delayed a birthday event by two hours abs management could careless. Avoid this hotel! It should be shut down!

I live in Oregon but visited California for a funeral. My Family and I stayed at your best western Sacramento Cal expo location 5/26-5/28. This was the worst stay ever! First, we were charged and additional $40 for an early check in on top of what we paid for the room. The hotel was disgustingly filthy. The floors were not swept or mopped. There were old stuff that was stuck to the floor and just left. There was a chair that was in the room that was absolutely dirty. Even after wiping it down it was still disgusting. There were roaches and roach eggs in the room. I am absolutely disgusted and upset at the condition of the room especially with having my small children aged 8, 5 and 2. Housekeeping never stopped by to help with extra towels, making the bed or even help with the 1 small trash can that was in the room. The room was missing the fire/smoke detector, which is most definitely a federal law that all hotel rooms should have one for a safe and secure environment. When we were checking out we were denied a receipt for the stay because they claimed that I booked through Expedia when I booked my stay directly through your website. We spoke with Melissa who was a manager there at the time and she was very rude. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

If you are looking for Best Western quality service this is not the place for you. It is a room that has internet and sometimes hot water. It's affordable but the service is hit or miss. The rooms will need to be checked before you settle in, 2/2 rooms we tried were dirty before we decided to clean it ourselves. Despite it being COVID breakfast (which is ok) they did not meet the expectations set forth by Best Western standards. Calling customer service won't do you any good either. Ask for new sheets when you arrive, both rooms we asked for had dirty sheets. Don't expect too much except the lowest price in Sacramento, and if it's not, don't stay there. Especially if vagrants, cigarette, and recreational smells are not what you are looking for. Best Western needs to send someone out to evaluate their representatives - this place brings their image down.

This was an overall good value. The hotel is a bit on the older side but it had been kept up very well. The rooms were clean and comfortable and my room was modern. The bed wasn't the greatest, but I have a bad back and I'm very particular about beds. The only downside was the noisy people in the parking lot - why do these people act without any consideration for others. For about five minutes, they were very noisy as they unpacked their car.

This hotel has great staff who give wonderful customer service. The rooms are spotless and everything is up to COVID standards. The pool area is kept clean which is always a plus if you have children or just want to kick back and relax by yourself.

Avoid this place at all costs. The room had a disgusting odor of backed up sewage from the drain in the bathroom. The sheets and comforter were stained and when we asked for new bedding, that was stained as well. The location is not super safe and the people on extended stay are noisy and messy. The staff seems overwhelmed and ill equipped to handle all these issues.

Checked in my room & it was gross. Went to the front desk to complain & he said there was someone living there before & the staff had to “clean” it quickly because the hotel was booked for the night? Will not be staying here again.

This is absolutely best hotel in Sacramento region this also has to be one of my favorite. They have friendliest and most considerable and accommodating staff. Thank you for your best service. We will be back for another peaceful retreat.

Most relaxed hotel to stay in comfortable and safe because there is security and there isn't much hotels that have security they make sure you are a guess when entering the hotel late night. So I would recommend people to stay here.

The facility was dirty inside and out. Was very disappointed as I stay at Best Western properties at least 60+ nights per year. I will not return here. The restaurant inside also not cleaned. The tables were not even wiped down from previous nights dinner......

Ill make this short and to the point. After a late night check in i found a used condom filled with sperm hanging over the cord behind the nightstand where i needed to plug my phone into. Called the front dest and i was told that they could not do anything about it because they were about to close the front desk? I simply packed the family up and left and will not be going back to that hotel again,

Quiet atmosphere, comfy beds & nice rooms for the price. And room wasn't swept, it made my feet black from all the dirt and debree so i had to wear stock and throw them away afterwards. also, come night time be sure it parked it car really bc parking gets scarce!

There was a younger guy who was on the night duty for most of my stay (His name might have been Joe...but I could be wayyy off! Sorry... Very bad w/names!) who was not only very helpful, but had exceeding customer service. He is\\was very appreciated by my fiance & I. Also, a lady who worked in the mornings, Maria, was very sweet, efficient, & very comfortable to talk to. Great price! Cleaner than most hotels\\motels when taking the cheaper route & just very comfortable!!! Thank you for having us! We appreciate you, SureStay!!!

However they will do their best... Also the walls are thin so just hope you don't have super noisy neighbors that are up all night... but otherwise it's a great value and I would stay there again for sure! Also I would try asking for a late checkout the night before to avoid hostility in response from the ol front desk.

Property looked deserted, was nervous about checking in. Room was okay, nothing special at first. Then we noticed the stains on the sheets and food splatter on the wall. It was late so we decided to stay but was up and out first thing in the morning. Breakfast was garbage, not the typical Best Western property.

This place is seriously ghetto! We came in to check in and no one was anywhere. The office was open but no one. We ring the bell. We called the hotel. We called several times and no one answered. We were about to leave and get a new hotel when the front desk lady finally showed up. Shel checked us in and we went to our room and there was puke in the parking lot just outside our room door. The beds were insanely hard... like. A. Board. Thank god we only stayed one night.

Room was outdated. Shower was warm at best. Heater did not get the room warm. Bed was comfortable. Floor was dirty. Staff was generally friendly. Owners need to invest some money into the property, update and charge more.

When I reported some issues with the room, I was told they would take of them, they never did. On their web site they had that they did breakfast but didn't have breakfast. I have stayed at other hotels that they do serve breakfast even during this time. Will not stay again.

from the time we entered the room until the time we checked out, it was perfect. we loved how high the beds were and how comfortable the beds are. The hotel was located close to his work and we were close to restaurants.

I'm a BW gold member and stay at a different BW at least twice a month. Kristina at the front desk stood out very much compared to my other check-ins. She is very sweet, polite and quick. She built great rapport with me and was the first to give me a “Welcome Bag” for being a gold rewards member. Something I though was a myth because it's never happened in the last 5 months and 8+ stays since I achieving gold. Thank you Kristina for your great service and for executing your company incentive rewards program. :-)

The rooms had been recently upgraded, beds were comfortable. Found a bunch hair in a corner of the bathroom. Also pubic hair on the floor and bath tub. Breakfast was an absolute joke. Unless you like solid yellow jello for eggs and burnt, shriveled sausage. Our daughter plays travel volleyball and we stay at a lot of Best Westerns, I like her to have a good breakfast before she plays. This next week while in Sacramento, I'll be at a different hotel and do Starbucks for breakfast again.

Overall, for the price, it was a very good deal. Rooms were clean, didn't hear much noise from other rooms, bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast could have been better, but wasn't bad. I would stay there again.

First of all, most of all staff are so kind, especially, Kristina who worked at 2 AM. She was so kind even though it was lat night. The room was so clean and nicely set up. I had one of the best breakfasts in the morning.

Overall a nice clean safe hotel. Rooms are clean. Close to alot of amenities. Cozy beds, pillows too. TV is decent size. Fridge and microwave in room. Quite if in the courtyard. Breakfast is decent. Potatoes, eggs, sausage. Apples, bananas and oranges. Wish they had bacon! Staff has been really nice. Belinda and Maria are sweethearts. This is my third week here. My go-to spot for the Sacramento area for work. Close to downtown yet so far we have not seen homeless or undesirable walking around the property.

This place looks like it's pretty old, and in an odd area, but when we walked into lobby, we were really surprised at the neatness and friendliness of the place/staff. When we got to our rooms, we were SO surprised at the extreme cleanliness, looked like it had never been used. Bed was REALLY comfortable, Wi-Fi worked great, bathroom was spotless, nice big screen TV, they even called to see if everything was ok with our room! This place is still under renovation, but they are off to a great start....stay there if in the UC Davis Hosp. area!!

We only stayed one night at the surestay Cal expo. The outside looks like any older hotel but this place is something special. They have vending machines, washers and dryers throughout the halls, a pool, jacuzzi, and 24 hour fitness center. The rooms themselves you can tell have been remodeled and they were done very nice. The furniture, walls and floors are beautiful!! They have microwaves, mini refrigerator, nice low step/tub shower, and automatic lights for the vanity. We had to switch rooms as our first room had a clogged shower and maintenance wasn't available at the time and both rooms were great overall. Kristin/Kristina on the grave shift was amazing in helping us out when we discovered our shower was clogged and was even so kind as to offer and make hot cocoa for my lil one. I usually hate hotel bedding, it's scratchy and cheap but these beds had the softest sheets, perfect pillows, and a cute simple design!! Only complaint about the beds would be they are pretty high. I had to help my kid onto hers and since I'm 5'2 and 7 months pregnant it was a lil much. Overall we had a very pleasant stay mad as someone who has stayed in a lot of hotels I was impressed. Only other complaint would be that even with the heater on our room never got overly warm or hot. When fully clothed it was comfy. Continental breakfast was pretty good too. And they have free coffee (tea and hot cocoa too) available 24/7. The day staff are super nice and helpful although I didn't catch their names.

It wasn't what i was expecting because of price and location but once i opened the door it was an Amazing Hotel! It has been recently updated and it is a great place to stay and my grandkids loved the breakfast

Don't hesitate to stay here. Great value for your money. It's clean and comfortable. It's tucked away in a great location. Right up against a nice neighborhood. Unlike many of the hotels in the area. Great value for a lower price. If you like Karaoke check out The Mother Load bar down the street! It's the best!

We usually stay at Best Westerns and mid-range Marriotts so thought this would be a safe bet since it is affiliated with BW, but it was a real dive. Green pool, hideous blue trim paint everywhere, overloaded trash bins, discarded furniture in parking area, scary guests. Although we were totally creeped out by the place, the motel 6ish room itself was ok and the bed was comfortable so I gave it an extra star. Hooks up to an Indian cuisine restaurant which looked unappealing. Passed on breakfast.

We rented this place because it was close to Cal Expo, but we made the wrong choice. The heating system was horrible. It didn't warm up the room so my husband and I were cold all night. We didn't get any sleep. So I asked the service attendant if I could move to another room. He told me that even if he moved me to another room, the heating system would still be the same. I told him I'd still like to check anyways. I checked another room, and the heating system in that room was just as bad. I will not be staying here again. If you want a warm room, you will not find it here.

For the price this was a doable stay. The room was good size, fairly clean, floor was not swept, and a ring around the tub, but we did't use tub anyway as it was a quick overnight stop. The bed was comfortable, but squeaky. The TV controller didn't work either.

We stayed for 3 nights right before Thanksgiving. The lady at the front deck was friendly. What we liked: - Close to downtown - Comfortable bed - Shops near by - Good machines in fitness center - Plenty of parking - Wifi works most of the time - Remodeled rooms What we didn't like: - House keeping didn't change the linens one of the days - Breakfast selection quite small - Some suspicious characters loitering around - Really high bed (not so good for kids) - HVAC fan only turns on when heater is working in heating mode We may consider it again when we visit, but will not be on top of our list. Overall, it was an ok stay

Really modern room, very clean and comfortably set up. Safe and easy parking. Good working sinks and bath. Unfortunate on my visit, was a noisy neighbor. Had to raise my television for about an hour. When noise started again, front desk staff was helpful and offered to call the room. Since noise level decreased, I declined.

The Good: Clean, a decent neighborhood for Sacramento, staff are helpful and attentive. Definitely a good value for the money with a more than acceptable breakfast selection. I spent 4 nights in room 113, recently remodeled and facing the freeway. I expected the noise and came armed with a portable noise canceling machine. The Not So Good: Even though it's a good neighborhood, a very questionable man chased me into my room as I was loading up my car to leave, he came from the area by the freeway. It was 10am and he first approached me from about 100 ft away, so I ducked into my room and locked the door. This man continued to cuss and berate me through the door. I promptly called the front desk, who immediately sent security to handle the situation. Everyone was helpful, prompt and diffused the situation immediately. Management handled the situation appropriately, but as a woman traveling alone I would not stay here again (I travel alone often). If you choose this property, be aware of your surroundings, management can only control so much of your stay.

The room, which was accessible, was recently remodeled I think and it was fine. One problem was that the shower water did not go down the drain and leaked over almost the whole floor. Found big dead bug in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. The worst problem was the noise. The room was right next to a highway and it was impossible to ignore. The pool was ice cold even on a 90 degre day and there was a heavy film of dirt --not swimmable.

Picked it because of location, we have 4 activities in 4 days and this was centrallng located. Older facility that is being renovated at this time. Clean, confortable room, excellent tv and wi fi. Good breakfast, friendly staff

On the outskirts of Sacramento giving access to an easy drive into the city for Old Town and State building etc. Clean and fresh rooms with good parking. Included Breakfast was a bit chaotic and messy but we may have just timed it badly. Can recommend the Indian restaurant that is within the hotel, seemed popular. Service and food were excellent and can recommend you try it. Can recommend the motel also particularly as it is sited in a nice area off the main roads.

The whole hotel looks so new and clean. Check in with Nikki was such a delight, so fast and easy. She made me feel right at home. Everyone from the housekeeping staff was so sweet and nice. The maintenance man, I think his name was Hector was available to help with a smile! Definitely will be coming back to this hotel.

Nice place at a decent price. Ate dinner at the restaurant last time I stayed here and it was good! Breakfast can be pretty busy but with a little patience you can get what you need. Excellent coffee at Shift Coffee a half mile away.

Warm lobby staff. Speedy check-in. Clean & fresh guest rooms. This hotel has a clear pool perfect for cooking off from the heat. Along with a spa to relax tired muscles. The breakfast here is much better than most other hotels in the same price range. Waffles, juice, yogurt, fresh cooked sausage or bacon & scrambled eggs.

Nikki was rude and lied on my family. I spent a couple of thousand dollars here over a few weeks while waiting on home repairs to be mistrested and discriminated against. I'm in the middle of discussing with corporate and the CEO and will pursue action until resolution making sure she never mis treats another customers or abuses her rights as a front desk clerk. She is NOT qualified to work in customer service her attitude and service quality was very poor. Glad to be back in our 4 bedroom house however I will never spend my money here again do to her nor would i recommend. It's truly sad that one person can ruin it for everybody and she's that person. If you dont like your Job Nikki find a new one or fix your behavior you cant treat people any way you choose it wont go un noticed if your going to work in an diverse environment maintain a high quality level of severice including the way you engage with customers we are spending our money not you show some respect and hospitality with a smile:) Hotel was okay but she ruined the experience I also spoke with others who have had issues with her as well. Nikki needs to be re trained on what it means to provide excellent service those rooms are not cheap I could of spent my money else where without the attitude and snobby gestures.

Very nice! I hope I get to stay there again soon! This place was very clean, and well maintained. The amenities are modern and comfortable, I like the window shade, They block the sun very well. The LED lighting was very nice.

Room renovation was nice, but room was too loud. We could hear everything next door including their TV and music and we could hear outside conversations inside the room. We lost a lot of sleep because of so much noise during the night. Registration and breakfast are inside the same building as an Indian restraunt and the smell of Indian food was very strong.

1 night for training class in area. The hotel shares parking with a temple. The restaurant is foreign and smelled of strong curry from lobby. The hotel guest check in wasn't very welcoming. I received a room on the back side by the temple. There was a questionable man there. I felt a bit unsafe.

Great place to stay. Price was right. Location was great for going and coming. Location was great for restaurants in the area Plan to stay here again when we visit this area. Close to everything we wanted to do and see.

The beds were so comfortable, and the amenities were plenty. My only problem was that we had to kill a couple of bugs. which I told the front staff about and they were apologetic and gave a resolution right away.

The Surestay was amazing! Great staff, food and location. My kids loved the breakfast and the rooms were very clean and up to date. The pool was clean and refreshing, very enjoyable after a long hot day. The beds very comfortable, great pillows!

The rooms were very nice and clean. Not many places to put your clothes so if you are here for a few days you might need to figure something out. This hotel is connected to an Indian restaurant so if the smell of curry turns your stomach this is not the place to stay. Breakfast was free and tasty, Eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, juices, coffee etc! Swimming pool was large and hot tub looked nice.

Front Desk Staff are very nice and friendly. The property is well kept. The room and bathroom is very clean and new. One area for improvement is the Breakfast. Lacking in selection and quality. Have had better continental breakfasts at other Best Westerns.

The hotel was newly renovated. Good room and bed. Could have been cleaner. Area was safe, clean and no homeless people which is good for California. Breakfast was average. Overall I would stay there again.

The rooms are newly redone very tastefully, with a comfortable bed and nice amenities like a fridge, microwave, and blow dryer, none of which I used. There's also an outdoor pool but I did not use it, either. I did use the iron and board, which worked well. The breakfast was decent for a motel, with waffle irons, eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, toast, fruit, and decent coffee. I found the staff to be very nice. Wish I'd had time to sample food in the Pakistani restaurant, because it smelled great. My room was very quiet, right next to a beautiful Buddhist temple next door. My only complaint is that the wifi only worked for me in the lobby, not in the room.

Arrived at 12:30am after a long drive to a few people lingering around the property and a few vehicles just parked in the middle of the roads chatting to each other. Took a few minutes to check-in as there was someone else ahead of us. Finally get to room, at first glance it was pleasant. Nicely decorated and updated. But upon a second look we noticed dust, hairs, and stained sheets. Beds were comfortable and appeared mostly clean except for one of the beds had stained sheets-looked like blood. Hairs in sink and on the counter and around the tub. Overall it was an acceptable sleep, but I would not recommend.

Every single person I encountered at the hotel went out of their way to make my stay MISERABLE. Not a single person was nice to me. They forbade me from booking an additional night because they expected me to pay for a 2nd night by 2 pm, an expectation I was unaware of, and so I was 21 minutes late in trying to give them my money according to their expectations, and they held their ground that they would not allow me to stay based on 21 minutes. I'm disabled, I walk with a cane, I'm noticeably frail, and I have a traumatic brain injury, yet the woman who appeared to be the manager of the hotel felt that it was necessary to bring hotel security with her to the room to allow me to collect my belongings. It's clear that I can't harm anyone just by looking at me. Bringing hotel security was entirely unnecessary and entirely insulting. The staff was so hostile with me as I tried my best to meet their expectations. I am disabled with a mobility impairment and unable to move as quickly as most others, but I was moving as quickly as I possibly could given that I was terrified by this woman and this security guard. They were yelling at me from outside the room that I was "taking [my] sweet time," and that I was "TRESPASSING" as I packed my belongings because "the room [was] no longer [my] room." THEY had escorted me to the room to collect my belongings, so how could I possibly be trespassing?! I told them I was moving as fast as I possibly could. Then they threatened to come into the room and throw all of my belongings onto the sidewalk and repeated that I was "trespassing." At this point I got really scared and called the police to protect me from the potential of the woman and the security guard throwing all of my belongings onto a sidewalk. Once the police arrived, they explained to the woman and the security guard that they had no grounds to claim that I was trespassing because they escorted me to the room to collect my belongings and that they observed that was exactly what I was doing and that I was moving as fast as I could. The police told me that they told the hotel staff that they needed to back off. One officer stayed outside to keep the hotel staff away from me and the other officer was in the room to protect me. I was sobbing. The officer told me that the hotel was the unreasonable party, not me, but they have the right to refuse service whether the basis is reasonable or unreasonable, then advised that I could sue for disability discrimination.

Although not that far away from downtown, the SureStay Plus is nestled away in the burbs of Sacramento, in quite a remote location just off the freeway. There's almost nothing surrounding it at all, which makes it quite quiet, but it is relatively close to much going on in the area even if you're not driving. A car however, is a bonus. I came to this SureStay from another of it's properties in Richmond, so it was a good opportunity to compare the relatively new, little known chain. This property has taken over a clearly quite old motel and they've done a very good job at remodelling and bringing it up to date, although a lot of the public areas still need quite a bit of attention. Parking is free, but if you don't drive here, you can take the Blue Line Metro from downtown Sacramento, but that requires a 10-15 minute walk from the metro stop to the hotel door. Sacramento's biggest shopping mall is also an easy bus ride away from the same metro stop. The hotel is on two levels, but there's no elevator, so bear this in mind if you have any mobility issues or a lot of luggage. Rooms are newly decorated and comfortable and beds are new and clean, with clean linens. There is little or no room-room noise at all, but there were quite cold drafts due to slightly ill-fitting doors. There is heating and aircon that works very well. All rooms come with a fridge and microwave and WIFI is free and very reliable. An Iron and ironing board is also provided and there was reasonable space for bags and clothes Bathrooms are clean and modern, with very good hot water pressure. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer are all provided. Towels are a bit cheap and worn and could do with a closer inspection at the washing stage. Although there is daily housekeeping, it's not very reliable. More than once, post 6PM, I had to ask for my room to be cleaned and the staff seem to resent such requests, although generally, they are quite friendly. There is a pool and a jacuzzi, but the pool is so disgusting, I can't imagine anyone using it. It looked like it was full of green jello rather than water. It's also a popular spot for visiting geese, so who knows what they're leaving in the water. Based on the pool's lack of hygiene I wouldn't dare dream what's in the jacuzzi. Photo of the pool attached. There is breakfast, but it's very basic and rather unhealthy. A waffle station is very popular and the line for it stretches out of the rather dingy dining room every day. There's also eggs, sausage, cereal, watered juices, tea, coffee, yoghurt and most days there's fresh fruit of either banana, orange or apples. Sometimes more than one option. On site is a very popular Indian restaurant which I didn't try, but my uber driver raved about it and told me I'd missed a great opportunity. Shame. The rates here are very low compared with downtown Sacramento and it's a clean, safe, comfortable option for sure. Well worth the easy trek out to the burbs.

I travel and often frequent this hotel. It's tucked away in its private corner and Its kind of a plus for me. The hotel isn't grand but the rooms look amazing on the inside. Hotel staff are always nice and accommodating when I check in ( even when I arrive earlier than the check in time). The complimentary breakfast could use a little upgrade but for the most part I enjoy staying here.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. They have staff at the front desk that are beyond the worst experience I have ever had in my life. Belinda took please in being rude. They did not like that I complained about the room and decided to kick me out without cause and made threats to charge my account beyond what I had already paid for. It was something that I hope no one ever has to go through while on vacation. Ruined my whole trip to see my new granddaughter.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and the area is quiet but still close enough to areas of interest like cal expo, the Arden mall and downtown. Staff is very nice and will go the distance to meet your needs.

I stay at best western branded hotels all the time for work, so this was my first choice for vacation. However this property is owned by people who don't care about the guest at all. Kids from the owners family were running around the property yelling the first night, and loud music from the restaurant until midnight.

everyone was very helpful. Due to an emergency i had to stay 5 days and the staff made sure i had everything i needed. At breakfast the staff was very kind and helpful to my elderly mother. It was very clean and safe. Would return.

Everything was good, breakfast have a lot of option and all the staff on the property was really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place, I'm sure I'll be back on this property on my next visit.

The sure stay locations we stayed at along the trip were very clean and comfortable locations. the beds were definitely better than the multiple nights at an actual best western location Will definitely look forward to booking at surestay locations for future stays.

Dirty room with hair all over the bathroom and toothpaste in the shower. Breakfast was dry no coffee staff really dropped the ball in this hotel used to be one of my favorite places to book with .....

The property was out of the way, but near the cal expo area but it was a nice get away if you don't want to be found. The room was spacious and check in and out was a breeze. Front desk was accommodating with advice, from special offers to where to eat in the area.

I am a member of best western and will not be staying here agian!!When first arrived found dirty wet towels in bathroom.our room did not get cleaned while we were out for the day!we had to take out our own trash,make our own beds!The toilet clogged twice and was told the second time by a man at the front desk that we would have to wait until the morning to get a plunger because he did not know where one was and no other staff was on the property!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very clean newly updated motel....has everything one needs and is in a convenient location....still has a few touches of the past not BW quality ...the people are great, each desk person was very helpful, I got Theresa's name... she helped a lot on my checkout day, the ladies of the checkin day were really good also....they all deserve a bonus/raise....I would stay here again for sure...the restaurant attached to the hotel is amazing....I came for business to Sacramento wasn't planning to stay overnight, but had to and it was a good experience

If you don't mind loud music in cars and people hanging out near your door and the inside security lock falling our of wall then you will be ok. And staff taking personal call while checking you in, then you will be just fine but as for me I will never stay there again.

I was glad it was close to highway and easy to get to airport. The pool was open 24 hours so I was able to relax in the hot tub after a day of driving and sightseeing. It was clean and friendly. The grounds were well kept.

I asked for a quiet room and was given second floor backside. All night train whistles and freeway noise. One good part was the Indian restaurants food next to the hotel was delicious. Hotel room was basic like a motel 6

I had a business trip to this part of Sacramento. Was not familiar with this part of town but had some impression before going, that it was not the best part of town. (Several Sacramento Uber drivers told me that later that it was a part of town that one should be careful at night. ). I took a chance knowing that the price was significantly lower than the other, more pricey chains a mile down the highway. My employer is cheap and this was the way to make the business trip work! Arriving at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised. An older property, it has that spacious acreage feel, evoking a time when real estate was not expensive. In spite of the neighborhood concerns, it seemed safe and fine to me! But then I live in a big city with some problem neighborhood so maybe I'm used to other people's views of “sketchy areas.” I took Uber and didn't walk around at night. The property appears to have been recently and sensibly upgraded. It's well-maintained, clean with nice bathrooms and excellent AC/heater units. Fresh paint, new beds, furniture, large screen TV, fridge and cool modern decor. Very clean. It's quiet - cement floors and walls make for quiet rooms. While I did not eat there, there is a lunch and evening restaurant on the premises. Breakfast in the large breakfast room was decent and so was the coffee. The staff were all friendly and cheerful and it all appears well managed It was a cold February winter so I didn't use the pool facilities but did use the funky gym and loved the new equipment. It's a fairly central location right along one of Sacramento's freeways. If you're passing through or on a business trip and want comfort at a value price, this is your hotel. You'll pay $50 or more to stay at at the upscale chains east of here, so why?!

My overall stay at the hotel was good. Room could have been cleaner. If i wanted to give a longer review I would have. Sometimes short and sweet gets the point across just as well as a 200 character review. Is this better???

The check-in process was very positive. Maria was very professional and accommodating. She set the tone for my stay. The other enployees were friendly as well.The room was clean with all of the amenities.The only downfall was a dirty towel left hanging over the shower head and a used soap left in the shower. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Here are the important things to know: 1) Sketchy neighborhood. 2) Entire property is lit up like a prison yard. I am all about safety, but this was really something. 3) Some rooms (like the first one they gave us, even though hardly anyone was staying at the hotel) are isolated from the main hotel courtyard and back up to a neighborhood fence that looks like trouble. I would be very uncomfortable sleeping in this situation, especially given the environment. 4) Had to switch rooms (and would have had to again if we had decided to keep playing with these people instead of just leaving...) 5) As we were walked to office to switch rooms, we were treated to the view of their pool, filled with murky green water, and huge, unstable stacks of rotting cardboard leaning in toward the walkway we were on. 6) The second room they gave us smelled of smoke and had dirt-streaked, hole-filled bedspreads. We decided to check out immediately and find another hotel. The next day, their General Manager refused to take our call and, calling us liars, refused to refund our money (as did hotels.com). But in the end, if it costs me $88 to be able to discover this disaster of a hotel and pass the word along so that others won't make the same mistake I did, it will be worth it. And, if you doubt my word, do some deeper research on Trip Advisor (wish I had!) and you will see that others have registered these exact complaints as well.

The room was dirty in some areas. The chair had hair on it and the second bed had dirt on the comforter. A towel was also dirty in the room. Just subpar quality and not what you expect from a Best Western.

I stayed for a couple of nights and I had a great experience. The place was quiet and the rooms were so nice. High bed and conconfortable. The breakfast was good and the girl working was friendly and attentive. thank you for a great stay

The initial look of the room was nice, but there were issues as I settled into the room. The toilet had urine spots on it, and there were brown marks inside the toilet. The brown marks disappeared after I flushed the toilet, so it was obvious that no one had even attempted to clean it. There were multiple spider webs on the ceiling, I imagine this may be because no one had stayed in the room for a while, but I would expect housekeeping to check for those kinds of things if they know a room will soon be occupied.

STAY away unless you like cold showers and HORRIBLE BREAKFAST WITH A SIDE OF DIRTY ROOM.... 3 nights in a row and no HOT WATER... WHAT A JOKE! And to top it off the water ran out.. what is this a 3 world country.....

The front desk person Maria was excellent. The young man at the front desk in the morning was professional and courteous. I did not expect to be awakened by a train every morning at about 4:20 which the hotel could not do anything about. The room was very comfortable and clean. Which is the only positive part of the stay other than price that I experienced. Breakfast left a little to be desired in addition to not having a decent selection of items 4 out of the 4 mornings i was there, staff had to be told the food needed to be replenished. I was there on a business trip and selected the hotel because of price which was good but had no idea there were no resestaurants in the area other than the one serving Indian cuisine in the hotel and the fact that I would not be able to get any sleep.

We were going out of town to spend 3 quiet days relaxing, to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We looked for a hotel in a quiet area with a swimming pool and a spa available. We were willing to pay more to have them available, and chose this hotel because it was advertised as being “in a quiet neighborhood” and having a working pool and spa. When checking in, we asked for a room away from the highway. When we went to our room, we discovered it was a room “right by” the highway, where the noise from the highway and the railroad seemed overwhelming even with all the windows and the door closed, so we quickly asked to change the room to the opposite side of the hotel. We went to the swimming pool that late afternoon and realized that both the pool and the hot spa featured ice-cold water. We forced ourselves in anyway as daily swimming is a required part of health regimen for one of us, but were so frozen that got sick with cold by the next day, and are still sick and on medications a week later. When we asked about the promised “useable” pool and spa at the reception desk, the lady openly laughed at our expectation of heated water and told us that the pool never gets heated anyway and whatever their website says about the working spa is not true (“the website says it wrong”). There were no apologies either. After the cold-water experience in the pool, we wanted to take a hot bath in our room. This is when we discovered how dirty our tub was. It had lots of human hair, of at least two different types, and the borders of the tub were so dirty one could draw pictures on them. This, in addition to hundreds of dead bugs in the tub, by the AC unit and by the sink/mirror area in the room. The hotel featured hot breakfast, but the person serving breakfast was serving just small quantities at a time, and not showing in the room for 20 minutes at a time. For example, last Friday, we came to the mostly-toasts-only room, saw a full room of people gather and not get food, then 20 min later the “server” guy showed up to replace some of the food, announced that they're out of other items and that anyway, this is the last refill. Given that this was after 20 minutes of his absence and the room was full of guests waiting for food, the quantity he served was not enough to satisfy half the people present. This was another disappointment. Our 25th anniversary trip got ruined by this despicable hotel experience, and we're still missing work because we're sick after that swimming experience. We would like to express our dissatisfaction with this hotel, because this is not what we paid for.

I stayed at this hotel because the booking I thought I had via Agoda, didn't have me down as a guest. It was one of the few that wasn't exorbitant. The first uber took me to the wrong hotel, make sure you give the full address as there are several Best Westerns in Sacremento. The hotel is not finished so there's no restaurant or bar, but there is a pool. The check in staff member didn't seem to know the area at all or what gluten free bread was, when I asked about breakfast. The room was large with two double beds but the floor wasn't clean. The noise from the blower round the pool and vacuuming was really loud as the windows were thin, it was however, quiet at night. Around 6 there was a lot of noise as I think a lot of the guests actually lived at the hotel and were going to work. There was no kettle, but there is an appliance that makes coffee from a bag. Breakfast was poor; cold scrambled eggs and cold coffee, there was wheat bread, dried up sausages and yogurt, not very appealing.

The room and property has clearly been renovated and there are nice touches everywhere. We arrived to breakfast like 2 minutes to 9 and it had been put away and wiped out by other guests. Employee Desmond was cleaning up but went above and beyond to get us a few things. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful but he was by far the best. Thanks for a great stay and keep up the good work. And thanks again Desmond!

First of all, I arrived close to 3 AM, which is not when anyone wants an hour's worth of problems. 1) The key didn't work. So, I limped on my sprained foot back to the desk. The gal made me a second key. 2) The second key didn't work. I limped back to the desk. This time she called someone to open the door for me. 3) The floor was filthy, the shower was wet, and the room smelled like shampoo. I decided I was too tired to care. 4) When I went to take a shower, there was no shampoo, just body lotion. I tried to call the front desk to get some. Nobody answered the phone. I tried for about 15 minutes, then decided to go to my car to get mine. 5) Had to go back to the desk to get let in to my room again. This time the guy left my room wide open before I got back to it. The gal on the night shift, told me that they key system was broken, and to make sure I talk to a manager in the morning. They key system couldn't be completely broken, because I saw other people using theirs, Also, she claimed that the phone never rang, but it sure rang when someone else called while I was standing right there. In the morning, I tried to speak to the manager. She was incredibly rude to me, constantly cutting me off and arguing with me. She actually told me that I should have stayed away and not tried to sleep there on my way home, because they weren't used to having customers. Is she serious?

We got a room for a night during our California trip but only wanted to stay more. The rooms are spacious,, very comfortable king sized beds and everything you need. Not to forget ample parking space. The staff was helpful and very nice. Breakfast was refreshing with a wide selection of foods. I would highly recommend this place for the price it offers!
