We had the room with king bed and sofa bed. Room is large. Slept well. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Great breakfast choices including waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, and more. We will definitely stay here again when traveling to visit family.
The hotel is currently being renovated and and the improvements are very nice. A new outside patio with chairs, tables and firepits is very nice when traveling with pets. We were able to sit outside during breakfast and eat with our 2 little dogs. The updated rooms are top notch.
They are in the middle of an upgrade, but it was still a nice stay. It will be beautiful once it is finished. The only complaint we had was that there needs to be more sound proofing in the rooms. We could hear everything in the surrounding neighbors rooms including above and below us as well as next door. No one was being loud, just normal noise and conversations at normal volumes. We could also hear everything clearly in the hallways and every time someone used the elevator even though we were at least 4 rooms away from it.
Killed a cockroach in bathroom. Room and hallway had horrible smell. Bedding was stained. Air conditioning unit was loud. Elevator was loud and filthy. Staff was not helpful. The lobby check in was a folding table. Just a horrible experience.
Very nice front desk young lady...They need to inform when making reservations of remodel..What they have done to rooms very impressive. There is also railroad runs ajacent little noisy but not often and not real bad.Excellent choice of restaurants near by...
We were pleased with our stay at this Best Western, They allowed our 50# dog and had adequate areas around the motel to walk our dog. It will be very nice once the renovation is completed and the elevator is operational. The breakfast was great, the room was clean.
Don't stay there till the updates are finished. At the rate they are going, maybe 2027? Elevator is out of service, few amenities.
Hotel is currently under construction (i was informed of this before my stay) i had 2 rooms (adjoining rooms). Rooms were clean, hotel was upkept. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I have 5 kids under the age of 10 and they all loved the pool area! We had to exchange towels A LOT, housekeeping was very helpful and respectful in that department. I forgot to put our DND on our doors one day and came back to clean rooms even after already exchanging towels! I was thankful for that as my bonus sons had made my floor a mess! (I myself am a housekeeper, and know what it's like to have to do their job!) I appreciated everything they did for us during our stay and more! When we come through again to visit my bonus sons, I will be sure to keep this hotel in mind for our stay! I'll be waiting to see the finished hotel!
Elevator not working, room not serviced, breakfast was not up to BW standards, GM doesn't follow through on simple requests. Horrible mattresses. It will be nice once the rebranding and landscaping and workmen leave…. Ugh. This hotel though does not discourage me from the Best Western brand
We arrived late, about 7 pm. We are two women, 66 and 76. Elevator not working. They offered to help us find someplace else. Well, we were tired after a 450 mile driving day and just wanted to rest. The lobby was being tiled, and the end of the tile was not finished and was left in a trip hazard situation. It should have been cordoned off, or covered. Mediocre breakfast. Drapes were not room darkening and poorly fitted so the room stayed much too light at night. Awful bed.
Great staff, beds and pillows are so comfortable. Breakfast buffet was very good and fresh and very clean, even though they are not quite finished with remodeling. I recommend this hotel. And a great location, with all kinds of restaurants available.
I give this property a solid B. The property is under renovation but the cleanliness is good. The carpet is dated but the room and bathroom were clean. Comfortable bed and good water pressure. The room was quiet and the breakfast is good. Restaurants nearby and close to the interstate. The reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 is that the baseboards are not installed in the room allowing drywall chips from the bottom of the floor to litter the carpet. Pet friendly. I would stay again.
It was under construction, but the room was good other than there were grease stains on the bottom sheet of our bed. It was near our heads, so who ever made the bed should have noticed that. It made us feel uncomfortable. If it had been near our feet, we probably wouldn't have cared. So we slept on the upper sheet (top cover). I have no idea what it was, but it was kind of gross.
The hotel is under complete reconstruction. The room looked fine upon entering but we are positive the sheets and pillowcases had not been changed since the last guest. We had arrived at 2:30 this morning and left by 9:30. Disgusting. We are honestly due a full refund.
Showers were as cold as the person as Hardi at the front desk. Shower doors would not stay closed, and no hot water to shower with. Sink was scalding but shower not so much. Worst stay to date! Not again!
A lot of dust, construction noises. gym was closed, no lobby, cold coffee and tea, same breakfast every morning. It was a bad experience. employee walking back back and forth speaking very loud in phone while guests are eating. No prior notices about construction.
This is a very nice lovely hotel. It was going under renovation at the time. However, they were extremely wonderful and kind. Breakfast was amazing. You had your option of fresh fruit, breads, bagels, yogurt, hot cereal, cold cereal, waffles, biscuits and gravy and also sausage links as well as coffee orange juice and apple juice. my room was a king size bed and my room was enormous. Everything was planned out wonderfully and the bathroom was amazing as well. I always ask for extra towels in my comments and the towels were already in my room waiting for me to check in. Very clean location and up-to-date.
Renovations? Yeah, renovations. We stayed at the Best Western after calling an hour or two out and making a reservation. The woman we spoke to told us the hotel was undergoing some upgrades, but was open for business. We got there after dark and it there appeared to be fences up around the entrance. After driving around the hotel and looking for another way to get in, we called the hotel again. The same woman gave us more specific directions and we got in the building (as it turns out, the front entrance was accessible...we just couldn't see where to go in the dark. Our room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. There were a LOT of breakfast options...I think you would be hard-pressed NOT to find something to you liking. Good service from the staff, good room, good bed, good shower, good breakfast. When I'm on the road, that's all I really need. I deducted a single star for the construction and a bit of initial inconvenience, but other that, we really didn't notice it.
Beautiful workers...Very prompt beds comfortably and very clean. Love the colors cozy. My favorite hotel will always choose best western. Love love love it. House keeper excellent. Breakfast is great. Very fresh food
Our first room room was dirty and there were ANTS everywhere in the bathroom. We asked for another room. 2and room had 1 bed...we need 2. My husband has a bad hip. The front desk said we had to stay with the one bed. It was noisy due to the trains in back. The bathroom faucet was broke and sprayed water everywhere The walk in shower had no safety bar which is a safety hazard. And the conditioner didnt work right.
This was a wonderful surprise as we were going north on the Route 127 Yard Sale. Check-in was noteworthy. Room was outstanding. Breakfast had sausage gravy and biscuits. For me, it doesn't get much better than that. Coffee was hot, fresh and plentiful; a quirk of mine. We have stayed at quite a few BW properties this year and this one is at the top of my list for service, comfort and convenience. The property was having some upgrades performed and the indoor pool was closed. Don't use ‘em anyway but maybe if you do, check first. I don't consider this a negative. The room was spacious and the couch was a welcomed surprise. For the future, maybe they could install self/soft closing toilet lids. And, another BW property had up/down “shades” on the window vs side-to-side curtains…so outdated and usually block the A/C anyway. Just a thought. The “no curtain” thing was stylish and allowed better air flow throughout the room. Only a suggestion. I love BW bc of the price, perks and comfort. I know, who goes to Richmond, IN? Well, it was very handy to the World's Longest Yard Sale and who doesn't deserve a good night's rest after looking for “Treasures”? Happy hunting and see you next year!
We had a great stay. They had a full hot breakfast. The pool was nice and warm, not crowded. The room was clean and comfortable. There was construction on the outside of the building, so it was messy, but it didn't wreck our stay.
One night stay: Tuesday 6/20/23 Pro: 1) check in staff very friendly Con: 1) run down outdated hotel 2) bed linens are a joke. The bed: A thin top sheet, a worn hospital blanket in between and another thin top sheet/cover, all paper thin. It's like sleeping under a layer of paper towel 3) room doors do not secure tightly for safety. Feels like the deadbolt doesn't quite catch in the lock. That was just my room door so can't speak to the entire hotel. As a solo traveler, feeling safe is a priority. 4) breakfast spread was cookie cutter budget hotel fare at best. 5) located close to a train track so get ready for very loud noise that'll rattle the windows while you are desperately trying to sleep, depending on which room you're in I guess. 6) pillows are thin, lumpy and disgusting. You can literally see the yellow stains through the paper thin pillow case. * Highly recommend bringing your own pillows if mystery stains aren't your vibe. 8) weird property entrance through a clinic parking lot (yes, I understand they can't do anything about the location but this is a review so I'm including these facts) 9) overall, entire hotel needs a major face lift and fast. There is an exterior reno going on but the interior and rooms need immediate attention. I give this particular hotel 2 out of 5 stars. It's comparable to a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn. Paying extra does not equate to getting extra at this hotel. Adding the word “classic” in the hotel name doesn't help. For $100 a night plus taxes and fees, I expected at minimum 3 out of 5. Would not recommend, and would not stay again.
The room and breakfast area were clean. The hotel is in the process of a MUCH NEEDED RENOVATION. Staff was great, friendly, and eager to help customers. Very happy with the cleanliness and good and hot breakfast..Culver's across from hotel location was a PLUS!
The hotel located very conveniently next to HWY. It's helpful after long drive. Very clean, the room had everything necessary, friendly staff, good breakfast. Cons: rail road is next to the hotel, have ear plugs ready.
Beware, do not stay at this Best Western! Waste of money, horrible customer service, smelly rooms broken elevator and no where to relax! Broken key cards absolutely a nightmare hotel! The employee Patrick and the hotel manger should be terminated this was so unbelievably horrible I would never recommend anyone to stay here go anywhere else. You would get better sleep in your car next to the highway!
Just needed a landing place for the night during a family visit. I used my free night voucher from a promotion and was very pleased with the value I got. Will use this hotel again. Breakfast bar was a popular option.
Super CLEAN. (And I am picky!) Room was fresh & COMFY. Recommend highly. All staff was great. Breakfast had many choices. I made the reservation via phone, directly to desk. The ONLY way to reserve a room!
I had extremely limited exposure to the hotel. Came in late and left before breakfast, but I was very happy with my room. Everything was updated and very clean. I would stay here again. The review needs two hundred characters but I don't have anything else to say.
The staff was professional and gracious. The were accommodating in trying to provide a room away from the noise. The hotel was built near train tracks and a very busy highway. Needless to say it was a night of very broken up sleep.
We have been traveling cross country for the past 2 years to clear out our storage units and have stayed at a variety of places. We were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The facility was safe, quiet and spotless with overly spacious rooms! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast had a variety of options. And it was quite economical. We will definitely stat here again.
Last minute hotel at a road trip since it was just one night in the best Western we figured it would be fine. Wrong. Nonrefundable first room they showed as the shower was totally gross. Next room looked OK after a while of walking around my socks were damp the floor carpet very damp. So I get my shoes on since I got out of bed we were too tired to move the room. I thought backed up to green space was really railroad tracks.
Very clean hotel inside and out. The manager Sam, very attentive and polite. The room is very clean, try walking without socks, your feet won't get dirty. Everything in the room worked, the shower pressure was great. Breakfast, lots of hot and cold items, always replenished. The entire staff at this hotel works hard to keep it clean. The place is safe and quiet. Several options for eating within walking distance Thank you ,Sam and his team, For my stay to be peaceful. If you are looking for a place in the area this is great.
This hotel is located a blk and 1/2 from train tracks I was awoken perhaps 3-4 times as the train went by. Room was clean however the amount of light coming under the door made me have pillows blocking the door Breakfast was a good variety and included eggs and sausage. I was able to plug in my cpap bedside
Very clean and big, beds vary comfortable, breakfast was amazing, so many options, guest service is always available and answer phones, quite, pool was amazing heated, I would definitely recommend especially if your picky, vary clean
We were so impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. Our room was great for the elderly with all the bars in the bathroom. Service staff were very friendly and willing to help us in any way. It seems everyone else feels this way because in the morning the place was packed. That's a great sign of a great place.
We had a change of plans and had to make last minute reservations. Luckily we were able to get a reservation but there was a charge for early check in. The view from our room was trees at the edge of the parking lot. The staff was quite pleasant and the housekeeping staff went out of their way to help me. Since we have been having problems with the mini fridges in other motels we were very pleased at how well ours worked. We did not do breakfast since we were meeting friends.
Friendly and very customer service oriented. Good location and clean rooms. We would stay here again. Chesley at the front desk greeted us with a warm welcome and was very helpful. Received a welcome bag, with bottled water and treats. Standard breakfast with a good selection.
For the price this room is a gem. Our room was perfectly designed, clean and modern. Breakfast was good. Service was professional and friendly. Stayed with our small dog for a small fee. I highly recommend this hotel.
This hotel property is pretty run down, which we didn't mind too much because it was only for one night. I did, however, mind very much being accused by a male staff member of coming in off the street to eat the hotel's breakfast. We had come down the stairs , which were by the front door, rather than the elevator. It shouldn't matter. Do they interrogate every guest who goes to their car before eating breakfast and walks through the front door? I do not recommend this hotel.
We have been traveling across the country and this was the second best western we stayed. It was clean and a fast easy check-in although we didn't have a reservation. The staff was helpful and kind in the evening. In the morning, if you want breakfast, be on time, they began breaking it down right at 9am.
We choose this hotel because it had a 8.4 rating, I'm not sure how. The room was ok, the bed was horrible and the 4 sm pillows were garbage! Free breakfast was overpriced. $250/2 nights, go elsewhere.
We've stayed at this BW MANY times over the past 7+ yrs. as is about the half-way point for us from North Carolina to Wisconsin and back. Over the years we've seen some improvements each time we arrive and this time it was the air conditioners. SO much better! They are quiet and temperature controlled and far better than the old, noisy ones of the past. We will continue to book this hotel.
The staff is very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. The rooms are very tidy. The beds are exceptionally comfy. Great business trip. We will always recommend this hotel to anyone. The heated pool is a major plus!
After being in a car for the past 9 hours it was pleasing to husband and I to get to our room for a break before going out for dinner. The room (looked to be recently renovated) had a King bed and end tables, small couch and coffee table, desk and chair, bureau for the flat TV, drawers, MW and small refrigerator but NO freezer section. There were 4 small pillows (esp. for a King) and we could have used a light blanket even with the A/C turned to a higher temp, but bed was comfortable overall. I was surprised to see how much granite counter space there was in the bathroom (but no shelves), holding small coffee maker, and there was a walk-in shower. Everything was clean and working condition. There was the usual items for breakfast and more than enough to choose from: scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, sausage patties, bagels and muffins, waffle maker, instant oatmeal and yogurt. Not far we found Galo's Italian restaurant to have our dinner, very good and also had a patio for dining. If ever in the area again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at this Best Western again.
Stayed here because it was close to our family event and had great reviews. Not sure I agree with those reviews. The room was clean but the rest of the building was kinda sketchy. There was some weird message stenciled in the elevator and apparently everyone loves to etch their name in things. If you are just looking for a place to sleep for the night, it's fine. If you want a great experience, maybe try somewhere else.
Motel was very clean. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was excellent. The grounds were well maintained and welcoming. The Owner was at the desk when we checked in and was very friendly. He was interested in why we were in the area. We were there for a funeral.
My wife and I have used this Best Western hotel for 10 years and it is always clean and well managed. Pets are always welcome. We usually travel with 2 small dogs. Great hot breakfast available. Always a friendly and courteous staff.
Dirty room, bugs, unmaintained property, no hot water, antiquated, door damaged, loud room. We were very unhappy with our stay- did not meet expectations nor amount to a comfortable, quiet or restful stay.
We stayed Oct. 2021 and were severely disappointed. Looking for a stay May 6, 2022, we saw positive reviews and decided to give it another This hotel is under new management and so much better! We highly recommend!
Stayed 1 night cross country trip March 2022. Decent breakfast, room was fine. No issues and price was good. Location of property convenient to highway; stores and gas stations nearby. Would stay again.
We came for a small get together. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They helped our guests locate our room. The pool area and pool was clean. We visited the pool area on 3 separate occasions during our stay and had to ask for towels each time. The water and pool area was colder than we would have like to see it. With some girls lips turning purple, so we had to limit the pool time. The rooms were a typical room, tidy and had all the necessities we required. We would stay again.
The staff was very helpful and gracious. The room was nice and the beds were soft and comfortable. The pool was heated and clean. The fitness center offered a nice place for a little workout. The breakfast was pretty good.
The hotel was clean and my room had a homey feel. They have a nice breakfast with many choices and the staff were kind and helpful. The location is central to restaurants and shopping and also easily accessible.
As usual, we were not surprised by the amenities, free breakfast, nice staff and cleanliness of the establishment. The reason we typically choose Best Westerns is for the above reasons, PLUS we can count on them to be bug-free, affordable, and easily available from our routes. This Best Western did not disappoint.
From Check-in to Check-out, everything was smooth. The room was clean and everything worked as it should. Although this is between a highway and railroad, my sleep was not disturbed and it was not noticeable during the day. I wear white socks and they stayed clean, something that doesn't always happen. The room was clean. Breakfast was fresh scrambled eggs with sausage and biscuits & gravy. They also had waffles, cereal and different yogurts. The workers assured all was ready and for us. When they were preparing to close, one of them came to our table and asked if we needed anything more, this is something I've never experienced. Will stay there again.
I checked reviews on this property and cannot believe that people gave it high marks. This is a rundown property that needs desperate updating. If I only paid $50-$60 per night here oh I would have been satisfied but not for $100. Stay elsewhere. Staff were pleasant.
Staff were all very professional and courteous I have had to stay at several hotels in the last year do to medical appts in other states This hotel was by far the nicest, cleanest and staff of all of them even the ones who cost a lot more! And one of the only ones who had a full breakfast most either nothing or continental
Stayed there for 2 nights. Front desk staff was very nice and friendly. Beds were comfortable, and the hotel was very quiet and clean. Only issue was the internet, it was hard to get my laptop to connect, and it didn't seem to have a strong signal.
We usually don't stay at Best Western's unless they are "Plus" because some are not very nice. However, this one deserves the "Plus" designation. The Hampton Inn was full and we were told the other hotels in the area were full, too. However, while we were there checking out our options, the Best Western called the Hampton Inn and said they had 4 rooms open up. We got a large room with a king bed. It was very clean. There were a few maintenance items that could have been a bit better. The shower head provided a great shower. The breakfast was also very good. The staff were great, too.
There was a glitch with the rate we were charged, but that was finally resolved. So we check into our room, change into our lounge clothes, then open a bottle of wine for a relaxing evening. Within the hour we noticed 10 to 12 mature-sized bugs on the ceiling, walls and drapes above A/C unit. We searched “What do bed bugs look like?” & when images appeared we exclaimed, “Like that!!” We realize this stuff happens because those nasty things can transport in travelers' luggage … but it's particularly disturbing when you've never experienced it before. The front desk immediately made another room available to us. We checked out early the next day when it was still dark outside. The drop off & parking area were being prepped for new asphalt and the surface was uneven. No lighting in drop off area … pitch dark … no orange cones to caution patrons … and my husband tripped on the uneven surface and fell. Bruised knee and hand but could have been much worse.
Had to kill 8 stink bugs, had small ants in my bed . The mattress was to soft and I had leg cramps all night because of the soft mattress, so left the next day instead of staying another night.. would not recommend
My wife and I travel with 2 small Havanese dogs. This Hotel is always clean and well managed. We have been staying at this location 2-3 time a year for the last 10 years. Always a good visit. Very good breakfast offered considering Covid-19 issues. Staff is always courteous.
We have stayed at this hotel a couple times and it is always clean, staff is very nice, and the rooms are always clean. The big plus for me is the beds are actually very comfortable which allows for a good nights sleep. Would recommend to friends and will stay at again.
I stopped here on my drive from CT to MO. It was better than expected in my opinion. The room was spacious and clean, and everything worked as it should. The breakfast was a great way to start my day.
We stay here often and we have been very pleased with the hotel condition and the staff are always polite and helpful. We have been staying here regularly for the last 5 years. Covid caused us to not be able to travel much in 2020
Very old building but making their best efforts to keep it clean. The building smelled of old smoke like it's soaked into the walls and carpet and then covered up by air fresheners. Looks like it just needs a remodel/overhaul to fix things. I wouldn't stay again bc there are newer places that don't have the eye sores and muck in the corners of every area and certainly not the smell. Good notes - AC worked wonderfully, bed was clean, coffee was good, just enough grass to let our dog do it's business.
We always search for BW facilities when we plan to travel. We have never been disappointed, except that there were no Best Westerns near enough to a couple of our stops this trip - Charleston, WV and Jackson, Michigan!
Stayed two night in august to move our daughter into college. The poor people in the first floor were subjected to loudly barking dogs. The room was sub-par with peeling paint and grimy surfaces. Not a handicap friendly hotel. Breakfast area was clean and well stocked. This area of town did not feel safe.
Nice room, decent price for a last minute stay for a little six year old girl that wanted to swim and stay in hotel before school started up, needless to say the smile and eyes definitely said it all..
this particular location was very good. we could have done without the ants. other than that, the staff was very pleasant and attentive. everything we asked for was taken care of very quickly. only problem was keeping fresh coffee.
Everything was clean and comfortable! And it was so nice to have access to the pool and a real breakfast again! Biscuits and gravy, meat and eggs, waffles, fruit and cereal... everything I tried was fresh and good!
This hotel is a great for the price. The service was quick and employees friendly. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed was soft. The room was quiet. The breakfast was adequate. The area seemed safe.
I stopped at the Best Western on a road trip cross country. It was exactly what I needed it to be. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had requested a room on the first floor to more easily take our dog out. We were given a room on the first floor near the vending machines. I thought that might be an issue, but it wasn't. In the morning, they have a really nice breakfast set up, with waffles, eggs, muffins, etc. This was a good stop along the way during our road trip.
We went for a 2 night stay for a family wedding. Breakfast was hot and delicious, the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. My husband and I would recommend this facility and will stay there again.
The room décor is very nice and the bed is adequate. The bathtub is very narrow with sloping sides and a slippery floor that begs falls if you're not careful. Breakfast is adequate. But the hotel is close to a train freight line that goes all night and is very loud in the hotel. Children were running up and down the hall well after 10:00 pm. A guy with a pickup truck, all the doors open and music blasting from the cab was outside our window in the hotel's parking area until late. We kept hearing the guest above us banging on his room's window to get the guy to stop.
Price point great but we rented bday package and pool was cold. I specifically called in the morning to make sure it was warm because last year we booked the pool and it was cold. My son had to get out within 10 minutes. The other kids complained it was cold as well. Bed looked like it had been slept in. Pillows on floor sheets open and messed up.
Why am I such a sucker? When I walked up and saw Old Christmas decorations in the flower pots, why didn't I just turn and leave?!! Yet another Do it yourselfer buying an old hotel and trying to prop it up on a dime. There were people out back cooking with pans on a barbecue grill. The trash had not been picked up forever. Place was a mess everywhere.
Check-in clerk did not enforce mask wearing requirement as posted and was not very courteous, entry and all carpets were dirty, I stay at Best Western whenever possible and the Richmond, Indiana Best Western DOES NOT meet the Best Western standards that I am used to. A cigarettes disposal unit is right beside the Handicapped parking spots and you can't go between your car and the entrance without walking through a cloud of smoke. We cut a 6 night stay to one night and we will definitely not be staying here again.
The team here is the most accommodating. We have rented the conference room several times. Every time it is a pleasurable affordable experience. We will definitely be back and continue to book here with Best Western
We had to leave our house because of structural damage and stayed 39 days at this hotel The staff were absolutely fantastic. Our every need was met with smiling enthusiasm The beds were so comfortable. They treated our dog, Winky, so nice and he had a great time too. Lot of room in the back for him to roam the yard and woods. I would without hesitation recommend this hotel to anyone and especially to those traveling with pets. The only thing missing was a doggie treat for breakfast.
After an office Christmas Party we stayed at Best Western because of the location. The motel is beautiful, and clean.Staff is polite. We missed breakfast because of its time frame and we slept in until 8:15 am on That Sunday morning. All in all with Covid...it was a nice place to relax, but without use of pool,or excersize room and no breakfadt, breakfast, think the price was a little high.
My son booked 7 rooms for this stay...in 2019 my stays were 190 nights in motels...was apprehensive of this place due to the price...the price & service of this motel is the best value in Richmond Indiana...should you be looking for a moderate priced motel this will be a surprise for you.
Arrived at 2:30 a.m. and left about 8:15 a.m. I noticed the hotel advertised the pool on a billboard right before the exit, but I think the pool was closed. Due to Covid, there was no hot breakfast yet the hot serving pans were still out, so everyone could grab the handle to look in to see if there is hot food, thus spreading germs. You might as well have the hot food. LOL Just remove these serving containers and stop teasing your guests.
This hotel is what we've come to expect Best Western to be - clean and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located off of I70, making it a great stopover on a long trip. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, and we could tell it had been cleaned to appropriate standards during this time of COVID. If we had been returning home by the same route, we would definitely have stayed here again.
Quiet, well maintained hotel. Courteous staff. Normally a very good breakfast is offered, but not now due to Covid-19. Excellent location directly off I-70 on US-40. Pet friendly with an area to walk the dogs. Doggie Poop bags supplied.
Great stay for the Value, the staff and management are extreamley helpful and friendly, the extra cleaning precautions take on sanitising due to Covid-19 pandamic was well worth the stay. We will definately visit this hotel on our next stay in Richmond.
The staff did the best they could due to the pandemic. There were some options for breakfast and we appreciated taking them back to our room: hot oatmeal, coffee, apple juice, fruit, muffins, etc. The bed and room were comfortable. The shower was the oddest I've ever been in. The base part of the shower in room 111 had only about 2 inches of flat surface in the middle of the tub and then it sloped up from there. I kept feeling like I'd fall over and it was difficult to balance. I'd recommend at least a shower mat in this room with an oddly-shaped shower. I'm guessing this was one of the few rooms like this -- as no other review I read mentioned anything like it.
Dev Patel and his team made me feel welcome for my entire stay. I was there for a business trip and needed to bring my dog with me. They made sure we were both comfortable and I was able to easily coordinate times that were best for us to get our room cleaned. Everyone was extremely friendly and I was asked if I needed anything frequently during my visit. I was able to get a late checkout scheduled last minute and when I left, everyone came to say goodbye to me and ask me about my stay. I will definitely be staying here again.
Overall good value for price. Traveling with pet, this was only hotel in area. Amenities were fine, room was clean, and we slept well. Bathroom fixtures (tub, sink, etc.) were starting to look old/worn, but worked okay and were clean.
Arrived super late in the evening and got checked right in. Room was homey and bed was comfy. King room featured couch area with a comfotable office chair. Basic cable available on the TV, no premium or movie specific channels. Due to health department restrictions (COVID-19) there was only select cold breakfast items available to "grab-n-go". For this reason the fitness center was also closed and there was no housekeeping tidying up or providing fresh items during the stay but replacement items could be requested. This didn't hamper the stay however.
Not a five star Hotel. But breakfast was good, room was good and staff was very friendly. Great stay for the price. Didn't get to use the pool but it looked nice, as did the workout room. Parking was right out front and plenty of it.
It's not a fancy place, but this is a great stop on a road trip - quiet and clean room with good selection of TV channels and decent internet, plus a comfortable bed. The breakfast was OK (the usual), and check-in and check-out were rapid. Highly recommended if you're on your way through this area.
The hotel is in a great area located close to the Interstate. Good choice of places to eat in the immediate area. It was also easy to get back to from relatives that lived there in Richmond.. Staff was very friendly..I would stay there again.
Holiday travel is long and holiday travel is stressful. Felt very comfortable at this hotel. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful . Good exit to stop at.
Disclaimer, I am not usually a two star hotel person, but the selection in Richmond is limited. The lighting is atrocious, it feels like you're in a classroom with bright bare white lights. The TV is grainy, and you'll have maybe 10 channels to choose from. The toilet got clogged on day #2 and since the phone wasn't working, I had to walk downstairs to let the front desk know. The teenager in charge gave me a plunger and added that I didn't have to return it if I didn't want to. Wonderful, just wonderful. The hotel is located right behind the railroad so forget about getting some rest. Not that the bed, hard as a rock would be enticing anyway. I also found a cockroach in my room crawling the wall. Delightful stay, truly. I don't know how in the world other people found this hotel half way decent, but the holiday inn across the street was much better.
First night the train went through three times. Our room was near the tracks and the room shook with every train going through. The location is conveniently located off i-70, us-27 ad us-35. Hotel was clean but looked aged. But overall the stay was comfortable and the free breakfast is a plus.
Richmond Indiana's Best Motel for your dollar. A fairly new motel is up to date with all the extras. Staff are helping and considerate. The breakfast was out of this world, it was like a smorgasbord. Oh and after my swim in there indoor pool, my bed was very relaxing and got a great nites rest.
The room was extremely dirty and had bugs in the window and on the curtains. When checking out, the front desk person refused to give me a receipt - upon insisting that she couldn't charge my credit card without showing me a receipt and printout, reluctantly printed me a receipt. Not sure what that was all about.
We stayed at the Richmond Best Western Classic earlier this month. I was a bit concerned that "classic" meant "old" but this was not the case. The hotel was very modern and tastefully decorated. The rooms were spacious, the beds were a little soft for my taste, but otherwise furnishings were good. The staff were all very friendly and courteous.
This is an older property that has been recently remodeled...in fact it was in the process of being painted while we stayed there. Nothing to do with the hotel, but the painters had done a poor job of painting the room we were in...missed areas, paint on everything in the bathroom including the ice bucket! Hopefully the proprietors of the hotel had a punch list, because there were lots of other paint issues in the hotel. We did enjoy the room, it was newly furnished and carpeted and very large. The bathroom had a nice large vanity and a tub/shower and toilet in one room. Good bed and a quiet room. The breakfast was good with several hot and cold selections. Our dog loved the milk bones that were available in the lobby. Several places to eat are nearby.
We enjoyed our stay at this best western. It was clean and had a fantastic breakfast with friendly staff. We usually go farther on the interstate but many accidents stopped us for the night here. The only thing I found displeasing was the website said up to 2 dogs per room and $10 pet fee. They charged us per dog. This is misleading. As we travel with our dogs for a living, we understand verbiage on hotel websites and they will usually say pet fee per dog or pet fee per room. Please fix this.
Nice hotel with a nice free breakfast. But it smelled very weird when we got back to our First Floor room. They denied noticing anything. I thought it might be the huge laundry area which was right there, but only part of the smell disappeared when they closed it up later. I finally mentioned paint and they said "oh- I think they are painting upstairs." I was very sensitive to this smell and they were completely disinterested in this. Also, the pool area was hotter than a sauna. Unusable. On a very hot day, it was empty. Room was pretty nice otherwise, even with the smell.
This was a convenient location to many good restaurants. Very spacious rooms that are clean and comfortable. The host that met us last night was one of the friendliest we have come across in our travels. Thank you Kylie. Breakfast was delicious. Hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. I would recommend this hotel.
My wife and I have been staying at this hotel for the past 5 years. We always travel with 2 small dogs. This hotel is pet friendly and is cleaner than the hotels that don't allow pets! Breakfast is outstanding, clean and fresh.
Very pleased with comfort of room and good breakfast. Have decided I will look for Best Western wherever I travel going forward. Value, cleanliness, and comfort all good. Perfect destination after a long day of driving from Kansas City.
Excellent for family and college visits. Also, it's a hotel that allows pets to stay. While we didn't have any pets with us, we loved being able to see the other doggos, floofs, and puppers. The breakfast is good, too.
The hotel was clean and comfortable - easy access to interstate and evening eating places. Quiet, nice pool for kiddos. Was easy to find, pleasant staff. Made a good stopping place on a long trip. highly reccommend.
Stopped at another Best Western on our trip. Traffic and construction slowed down our progress, so we stopped at a town when the hour got late. I checked online for the hotel and found a rate on a booking site that was cheaper than on the Best Western site. I called the hotel and they matched the rate. Good business model. Just off the freeway, but just far enough. Staff check us in quickly and was polite as she did so. The room was on the second floor, with an elevator mid building. The room was as I have come to expect. Clean, well appointed with a work desk for my computer. Breakfast was also as expected, with scrambled eggs and various other items. A real positive facility, even for Best Western.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The pool was nice and breakfast was good. The breakfast area could use a few more tables. We were traveling with our son, his wife, and 2 year old child. They had a king room with a sofa that was quite spacious. The toddler was very comfortable in the king bed and slept all night.
This was a nice hotel that met all the requirements. It had one of best breakfasts of all the hotels we have stayed at and Rami provided a great experience offering any help at all. We were very happy with the accommodations.
Pros - Clean and comfortable rooms. Shower had good water pressure. I liked the hard wood floor look in the bathroom. Breakfast included scrambled eggs (with cheese toppings if you choose), biscuits and gravy, cinnamon or regular waffles (with chocolate chips, whipped cream, and more), boiled eggs, and more. The cucumber water in the evening and strawberry water in the morning was refreshing. There was also a bottled water in the room. Cons - The indoor pool was cold and a bit dirty. The lights were not turned on around the pool area, so it was fairly dark. Also, the price seemed high for this kind of hotel.
This was a really nice property. The decor of the room and amenities was fabulous. Check in staff and check out staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was really comfortable and the room not so cramped so it was a pleasant one nite stay. Super good shower and roomy bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Easy access to I-70 if driving. Would definitely stay here again.
Great value! Nice staff! Clean and easy to access. Very happy w this stay. Have stayed more expensive places for less of an experience. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone, even if not on a budget.
Always friendly staff. Helpful with any concerns,go out of the way to make sure you are doing good. This visit was marred by a family death, and the staff was concerned as well as very helpful. Can't thank them enough for the over the top service.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful booking a room and also when we arrived they were always asking if we needed anyhing. It is very well kept up inside and outside. The hotel is located in a very nice safe area. I would stay here again when i am in the area.
The next time I'm in Richmond, I will stay at the Best Western. The room was extremely clean and comfortable, a pleasure to be in. The staff went out of its way to be friendly. And the rate was affordable. Simply outstanding.
I stayed in this hotel for 4 days and a family member stayed for more than a week. I was helping a family member relocate due to a job offer. The staff were friendly and helpful which was very much appreciated considering it was our first time in Indiana. Our entire stay was comfortable. Room was clean and spacious. Highly recommended.
This hotel is near the highway and it is appreciated when you just drove a long way. Service at the desk is very good and lobby is clean and good looking. Recent bulding. Room comfortable and clean. Nothing negative to say. Breakfast is good.
Room pretty clean although there was an odor of dog. Hotel is pet friendly but perhaps they should be restricted to certain rooms or carpet cleaned thoroughly once pets check out. Fan in bathroom did not work. Minor issue so did not report. Good water pressure in shower and sufficient hot water for the 3 of us to shower. Breakfast was good and offered several options. My son loved the waffles. Air conditioning was blasting icy cold at check in on a cool day. 2nd night when it was warm the AC went out. Maintenance came and tried to tell us it wasn't working due to cool outside temp. Really? It was much colder outside when we checked in! Not to mention it works off the ROOM temp, not outside temp! Never got it fixed and we got very little sleep as room was so uncomfortably warm. Other families in our group had same issue. Husband heard later that the hotel had turned it off in certain areas to avoid power surge/generator issues?????
Checked in Saturday evening. When your wife comes in and hugs the front desk clerk that alone says it all about customer service. It is by far the best out of any hotel we have traveled to. Take my word they could write the book on how to treat a guest.
- Easy access from freeway - Friendly, attentive staff - Very clean and pleasant surroundings - Excellent breakfast: good variety, hot, tasty, breakfast area clean and inviting - Quick check in and check out - Room was comfortable and in great condition
The Best Western hotel amenities were great. There were train tracks next to the parking lot with trains passing during the night, rather noisy for sleeping. The hotel was pet friendly which was important for us as we have a small lap dog that travels with us.
Hey folks, this place actually use's real eggs. That was a pleasant surprise, Plenty to chose from for your morning breakfast. Rooms are super clean and comfortable. This is a place I would highly recommend to anybody.
We like Best Western hotels in general, this location was no exception. The breakfast was good, the rooms were comfortable. Front desk was friendly and helpful. It was pretty welcoming after a day's drive. We traveled in May 2017.
My daughter and I checked into this hotel Monday evening. This was a very emotional time for us,she was returning to College for the first time after lossing her father. Needless to say I was a wreck. After returning from dropping her off I stopped by the front desk to find what resturant might still be opened to get a quick bite to eat. I must have looked as if I needed someone to talk to .The young lady came out behind the desk gave me a hug and asked me if I wanted to sit down and talk for a little while. Before I know it I found myself crying and sharing my whole story. She was such a comfort to me. She made me feel as if I was much more then a guest. I left there leaving as though I had made a friend Thank you Nicole.
Perfect in every way :-) Dev at the front desk was warmly welcoming and placed me in the "just right" room. Although I declined the snack pack offered, it was nice to be acknowledged as a Rewards Member. I ended up staying a second night due to the weather, and Destiny readily checked me back in to the same room and was just as cheerful & helpful. With mobility issues, it means a LOT to have automatic front doors when bringing luggage in & out. Lovely property, very well maintained. I really enjoyed the strawberry infused water in the lobby. My room was spotless and nicely appointed w/fridge/micro & flat screen TV. Bathroom was not only clean but SPARKLING. Ample granite counter space. Generous supply of bright white towels. Slept well on super comfortable bed with nice linens and four fat, fluffy pillows. Train runs nearby but it wasn't enough to disturb my rest. Free wifi with great signal meant I could closely monitor weather & road conditions for the remainder of my trip. Bottled water was provided for in-room coffee maker. I appreciated being able to print off some permits at the computer in the lobby available for guests. Parking lot was well lit and I felt my vehicle was safe. It snowed the night I was there and the covered entrance was definitely a plus. They did an excellent job of clearing the sidewalks & parking lot. Continental was well tended with hot & cold items including fresh fruit. Everyone I met on staff was smiling and friendly. Had a wonderful visit and look forward to staying here again.
hotel nice and clean, newly remodel rooms. Good Breakfast. Stopped here on the way to our mothers house in Ohio. Weather terrible could not go any further. I have 2 small children who were not happy to be stopping. Bored. Nichole behind the front desk went out of her way to help. She brought out paper plates and marker for the kids to make puppets and have a puppet show. NO WHERE. have we had services like this. Kids went from being mad to asking when they could come back. I have notified everyone possible about this. Thank you again.
Snow Snow Snow is all we saw last saturday when we arrivied at the best western in Richmond Indiana. pulling up the hotel was lite up and easy to get into. Nice and clean on the inside. Rooms looked newly redone. Breakfast was great. But what stood out was the service we recieved from the clerk at the front desk Nicole. She took the time to come out in the snow. Helped with the suitcase not caring about how cold it was. She was such a nice treat to a terrible start of a eveining Wish she lived closier to our home would be proud to have her at my business.
We stayed at this hotel on our drive from Kansas to Eastern Ohio. We had planned on driving straight through but got a late start and didn't want to wake up family at 3 AM. We made the reservation through the 800 number. We were quoted a higher rate but because we were Best Western Reward Members were got a lower price. The room was very nice and quiet. We didn't get up early enough to enjoy the breakfast but it smelled good as we were leaving the lobby to get on the road again. We didn't arrive at the hotel until midnight. The only thing in town that was open was IHOP next door. It was okay but I would have rather had other choices.
This hotel is a little difficult to get into, I thought there was a rear entrance so I drove past it and had to turn around. The hotel is clean, maybe a little old, and reasonably priced. The internet was good. The Fitness Room was WAY above average for a hotel of this type. The location is pretty good, I went next door and had a really good burger then walked back to my room. I'd stay here again without hesitation.
We stayed overnight (with two dogs) on our way home from Maryland. The rooms reserved were not "pet friendly", which you can never tell when reserving, but nothing else was available when I made the reservation online. The check-in clerk was personable and helpful, and was able to give us an alternative room (which is what I would have reserved given the opportunity anyway). The rooms (we had 2) were very nice, clean and with plenty of space. The TV and internet worked fine, the bathroom clean and well equipped. The breakfast seemed fine but we just grabbed a little something quickly on our way out. The only issue was other dogs' poop on the grounds, which my husband stepped on in the dark; that's really other guests' lack of consideration in cleaning up after their pets and I don't hold it against the hotel. Overall an excellent stay which will be remembered when making reservations for future trips we make once a year or so.
Awful, AwFUL, AWFUL!!!! 12 hrs in hotel. 2 Hours sleep. We were in bottom floor back handicap room. While booking we check the reviews but they are all BS!!!! All been seriously scrubbed! Our room was 75-100 feet from a freight railroad and when we told the front desk they said they couldn't do anything for us not even BW points. Who in the heck builds a hotel less than 100 feet from a busy railroad? Needless to say the train ran by 6 times in 8 hrs at all times of the night! Avoid this place at all costs!!! The reviews lye and cannot be true or accurate! We got only 2 hrs sleep
The pool was very nice and warm! Clean pleasant room. Breakfast had lots of variety and good food. The staff were friendly and helpful. We almost always stay at Best Western hotels, partly because of the great rewards program, but mainly because of the quality for our money and friendly staff!
Great value for the rate. Best-in-class breakfast preparation; I've never seen individually wrapped slices of bread in a hotel before. That's an employee who cares about her work. Front desk was also very accommodating and helpful. I will consider bringing my car club here next summer.
Quick stop over on way home from Missouri. Convenient on route 70. Clean, Quiet and friendly staff. Could be a little cheaper (by the time you add on taxes). But would stop here again.I was given the "meeting room" made into a regular room as "overflow". Kinda weird but the area hotels were full so it was OK.
The wife and I were looking for something better than just a motel and this one fit what were looking for. Cost may be a bit high for the location but the beds were comfortable, the hotel was clean, and the staff was very nice. The decor of the hotel was odd.The hallways kept to the worn out / outdated carpet patterns while the rooms were trying for a contemporary look but they forgot to change the window treatments. Seemed odd like someone didn't have money to finish an upgrade. (see the attached pic). There was other work that needed to be done to the room as well...mostly cosmetic...and the toilet wasn't fastened to the floor very well. When you sat down the toilet moved / shifted. There is also about 3 or 4 freight trains that will pass right outside your window but they weren't too loud. Overall the place was OK.
We had 30-40 dead flies in the lights in the bathroom. When they came to clean the lights (after the first night). they took everything off the counters and left it all on the floor and toilet? Shower handle was also cracked and they had to come fix. Bathroom had a moldy smell to it. Rooms have been remodeled but certain things not upgraded like the outlets (ours was loose in the bathroom).
First night on the road headed for South Dakota. Check-in was easy and the desk clerk was engaging and friendly. Room was clean as was the bathroom and there were plenty of towels and they weren't worn out. I liked the soaps and shampoo provided. Good stuff! Breakfast the next morning was better than the average "free" breakfast as there were protein items (scrambled eggs and sausage) to go with the waffles, cereal and the like. Coffee was good. Check out was easy and again the desk clerk was friendly. I will stay here again if I'm in the area.
First time staying in Richmond, nice clean facility, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and fairly quite. (train close to hotel, didn't blow horn but could hear it on the tracks) Breakfast was excellent.
I stayed there 2 nights. The check-in was quick and they even helped me carry my bags to my rooms. I called and requested extra towels to wash my hair and they were quick in providing service. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. I would stay here again when ever I work in this area.
it was nice but trains kept me awake, but other then that great place!!!!! id recommend them. they had exercise room and pool and elevator was easy for me to get around. bed was comfy, slept pretty good.
This was a surprise: a hotel at this price that was this nice. This isn't luxury accommodations -- just clean, up to date, and reasonably well maintained, with a helpful staff. At this price that can be hard to come by. It's clear that the staff/ownership pay attention to the details and make sure they're right. I had a few complaints: faint smell of cleaning chemicals in the hallway (always a turn off for me), and thin walls that let noise from the hallway into the room. The wifi was pretty useless in the evenings; I assume everyone was using it to stream videos and that used up all the bandwidth. It was much more usable in the morning. Oh, and my key card quit working, but the staff quickly and cheerfully fixed that.
I've been staying in Best Westerns for several decades and have usually been happy. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the new carpet in the room. The bed was soooooo squishy and soft it gave me a horrible backache- couldn't sleep for 2 nights. The toilet wibble-wobbled and clunked every time we sat on it. The breakfast was not as good as most Best Westerns.
I stayed here for one night in June with my husband, mom, dad, 10 year old niece, and 12 year old cat over two rooms. We were in the middle of a two day moving trip and I am thankful for this hotel and the staff there for helping us on our journey. The hotel is located right off I-70 very close to the Indiana/Ohio border, easy on and back off I-70. There are several gas stations and restaurants (iHop, Cracker Barrel) located around it. Finding it was easy and checking in was a breeze. The hotel staff had been great about adding names to the reservation so when my parents arrived ahead of me they were able to check in and rest. We took advantage of the hotel pool - it was great for my niece to burn off some energy and for the drivers to relax and float. We also enjoyed the hotel breakfast - lots of hot and cold options, well maintained, and clean. Thanks to the staff for your help and a great stay - it was just what we needed.
Great Place to stay. Always have great friendly staff from management to all associates. Have been helpful every time we were there. They always ask if they can do more to make our stay better. If they can put up with me , they have to be great.
The lady at check-in was friendly and helpful .Very nice room comfortable and clean bathroom. Great Breakfast had A LOT to choose from both hot and cold .One of the best I've seen on our road trip! Located right off the exit plenty of restaurants. Excellent value for your money!
It's an older hotel that's in the process of being updated so some things were nicer than others. Our room was clean and comfortable for a family of 4. None of us had any issues with noise keeping us awake. The breakfast was very good. The bathroom is where most of the worn look lives. While the floor tile is an updated wood-look tile and the counter top is newer, the shower is older. The paint job in the bathroom was horrible (paint slopped around the edges of the door frame) and the electric plates in the bathroom were too small for the hole they were supposed to cover. None of these things made our stay worse or bad.
Okay, keep in mind this is an old property and one that's meant for passing through a town on your way to somewhere else. You won't be impressed but you will get a place to lay your head for the night. And the front desk clerk was FANTASTIC! The only dog friendly hotel we could find in the area and only $10 per night extra. My one major complaint is that the railroad is only a few yards from the hotel and long freight trains run by about every 1.5 hours all night long. If you're a light sleeper, I'd suggest staying closer to town and skip this hotel. Or, ask the front desk for a room that's a little better sheltered from the train noise. Overall, a decent value and it got the job done. Just be sure to temper your expectations; this isn't a Four Seasons and it's not even a Hampton Inn. It's just a good place for weary travelers to rest.
Was heading out west to Colorado from Maryland and needed a place to stay after my first leg of the long drive. I was drawn to this place because it was the most inexpensive place that offered free breakfast in Richmond. I arrived at about 9:30pm. The front desk lady was great, the room/bathroom was clean, towels were soft, bed was clean and comfy, etc! The breakfast was great! Scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries, cereal, fruit, and my favorite thing - the Belgian waffle maker! The morning front desk lady was just as friendly as the one from the previous night, if not moreso. It was a pleasant stay and exactly what I needed.
During a cross country road trip that included 4 hotels and 2 Airbnb this was the most expensive and also the worst place we stayed. Doors in the stairwells were missing knobs. Furniture piled in the stairwells. Our bathroom had towels left on the floor. Stains on the walls and ceiling. Moldy grout and caulk. Air conditioner wouldn't go below 70 and the fan was stuck on low making for a very hot night. The filter in the AC was covered in what looked like mold. Had this not been the only option in town when we rolled in late night we would have ran for the hills! Manager on duty seemed disinterested and less than welcoming. I could go on and on. Do not ever stay here.
Was to tired to pay attention to conditions when I arrived beyond the gall smelling like a Cross between fish tank water and wet dog but after some sleep I realized how run down it was. It seemed like they started to update but then gave up. Water damage to end tables. (Bubbly) Ceiling was different shades from being patched. Walls were spot painted holes were filled but they didn't even bother to remove outlet covers! Vending eitger didn't work or sold out and ice machine was broken. ONLY bright side was the bed was comfortable.
This was a very pleasant place to stay after a long drive. The room was clean and the hotel seemed newer. The breakfast was great for us. Hot foods as well as fruit and breads. We had a reservation for that night but ended up coming back five days later (we had to cut out trip short) because we had liked the hotel so much!
After a lousy stay at an Econolodge in Lawrence, KS I was looking for something nicer and this BW didn't disappoint. This part of Richmond seems to be a popular hotel layover spot and there were a lot of choices. I'll admit I checked out a couple of others before going to the BW but the others were full. Anyway, it was a good experience. Lots of choices within an easy drive for dinner, the check in was painless/friendly, the room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast was decent. The location isn't scenic but this is a decent place to stop for an overnight on the road.
This hotel I was going to avoid due to the reviews. To my suprise the hotel was wonderful. The staff was so friendly and the room was very modern and clean. The wifi works really well. Breakfast was wonderful and really good. I highly recommend this hotel.
Husband asked for a handicap shower room and we were given a room in the back of the hotel. We pulled up and noticed there was no handicapped ramp for my scooter. My husband resigned to lift and place it on the sidewalk. Had I been traveling alone I would have thought this neglectful to mention. I would have been unable to get in this way had I been alone. We entered the room which smelled like new carpet rubber. My husband asked me if I could tolerate it (I have breathing difficulty) and I told him I thought I could. He went to get the rest of our things and I decided to kick off my shoes and sit on the bed. When I put my feet down, I felt wetness on the carpet. Checking around, it appeared the entire carpet had been shampooed and was still wet (hence the rubber smell). I told Bill we couldn't stay in a wet room. He went down to the lobby to get us another room. He returned with a key to a room upstairs and once on my scooter, we looked near the elevator for the manager who now wasn't there. He pressed the button for the elevator and magically she appeared there and rode up to the room in question. The elevator was working but very small. Personally, I don't like being handicapped and on another floor in case of fire, but I decided I'd take a chance. The room had a similar red and black carpet in the room (which looks hideous with the yellow walls). The room was large, carpet dry but freezing. I asked the manager if they had shampooed the previous carpet today and she replied that they did. I could not believe that she admitted to renting a room that had wet carpeting. I tried adjusting the air conditioner but it appeared the thermostat didn't work as the only way to stop it was to shut it off (by this time the manager had left us). Handicap shower wand was permanently affixed to a pole with a plastic clip which made moving it difficult. I would absolutely never stay in this place again. This is the second Best Western I've stayed in where the management seems to be more intent on renting the space than to seeing to the comfort and safety of their guests. I wonder how they determine credentials for hiring someone in management? I've decided I won't tempt fate again and will avoid Best Western run facilities in the future. I can't feel safe in a place where your safety is not #1.
I have no clue how this place got the great reviews. It is NOT a five star hotel. Maybe a 3 star.... maybe. We were greeted by a very cramped front desk located IN the breakfast room/hallway. After going down a tight hallway with construction materials on pallets stored in the hall. I am fairly certain this is a fire code violation. We turned the corner to a tight entrance to the elevator... which had an unusual odor. This continued throughout our three day stay. We entered our room that was hot because the air was not on... the little door on the air conditioning unit was covered with sticky.. candy like... material... this covered my hand ... which I washed immediately. The room was minimally clean. Breakfast was good... attendants wore gloves to clean tables.. did not change gloves and attended to food... possibly questionable. Staff at desk were varied! The gal who was at the desk on Saturday evening (May 5) was excellent. Others were never at the desk but if you rang the bell and waited they would show up. When we checked in on Friday afternoon.. no one at the desk... so you see I am not talking about the middle of the night... it was prime check in time... The hotel is over priced for the quality. I must say Richmond has many run down hotels... and this is one of them!
They are trying to make this a nice hotel but until they improve the mattresses, they will be overpriced in my book the beds are like a swayback horse. Horrible and not what you expect from a hotel this price. We stayed in hotels 20.00 less with way better , plush beds!
The shower was not usable until the third day. Plugged up. Finally repaired, but tub not cleaned after repair, and we had to ask someone to clean it. Door to bathroom was dirty, had to clean all handles and switches with wipes. Breakfast was fine. Staff was friendly. We just need more cleanliness.
We had stayed at this hotel several times in the past and were very satisfied with our stays. However, we were surprised with our stay this time. The hotel is apparently undergoing a renovation, although we were not advised prior to arriving at the hotel. Upon check in we were given a room on an upper floor to mitigate any possible nosies. However, the floor were assigned was apparently undergoing a renovation. There were large pieces of furniture in the hallway. When we entered our room we notice that some furniture was absent - a sitting chair, corner lamp, a lamp for the desk. Also there was not electrical outlet near the desk. Although the room was recently painted and some new carpeting the paint was sloppy and there were some loose fixtures in the bathroom. We were offered another room on the same floor, but it was in the same condition as the room we were originally provided. Also the breakfast bar was not the same quality and diverse as it had been during our previous stays at this location. Although this hotel is easily accessible to the nearby interstate I would not stay at this location again.
The hotel is clean and newly decorated/renovated with friendly staff. I've stayed here multiple times for work and have never had a bad experience. Definitely a great place for the price point. It is pet friendly if that impacts your decision in any way.
This review is more about a documentation of our recent visit. First, a quick review. I like this motel. It is convenient to the interstate and dining (local and chain restaurants), it is clean and comfortable and the breakfast is good for a moderately priced motel. Now about our recent visit! If this was our first experience with Best Western or this motel, it would be our last. We frequently stay at Best Western motels; in fact we used some of our loyalty points for this stay. This was the fifth time that we stayed at this particular location and had a totally unexpected negative experience. The facility is undergoing an update and the halls were a little congested (not a particular problem). The issues started immediately after check-in. The luggage cart was a pain to use. It did not roll well and so I had to struggle with it from the car to the room. After returning the cart to the lobby, I returned to the room and walked right in without using a key card thinking that my wife left the door unlocked for me. Not the case, the latch wasn't engaging properly. When we first got to the room the TV would not turn on using the remote, so the desk clerk came and performed a reset which took care of that problem. At that time I showed her that the door did not latch properly. She did not offer us a different room nor did we request one which could have been a mistake, but we didn't make an issue of it. That the door did not close securely and lock was something we verified for sure when we returned from dinner. I thought my wife headed to the room ahead of me while I parked the car and I did not have a key card. Taking the stairs which were right next to the room and thinking that my wife was already in the room, I pushed the door handle and entered the room without using a key card. Once again I thought she left it open for me but actually she arrived after me. Fortunately nothing was missing from the room. Since the dead bolt and bar lock offered sufficient security while we were in the room I did not to ask for a different room. Shortly after getting to the room (when we first arrived) we were able to log onto the internet without much difficulty. However, the connection was slow and later in the evening it just dropped our connections and while I was able to reconnect only after numerous attempts, my wife was never able to regain internet access. During the night my wife used the toilet. When she attempted to flush it, the flush lever turned but the toilet did not flush. In the morning I used the toilet and when I attempted to flush, the lever fell off. I was able to flush only by removing the tank cover and pulling the chain. All of this being said since we've had good experiences in the past, we will give them another try in the future and hope all of this can be attributed to management being ill prepared for all of the renovations.
An overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars? Are you kidding me? Going on 11pm and room suddenly started shaking like there's an earthquake or a jet is mere yards overhead and about to crash. Looked outside and it turns put there are train tracks just a few yards from hotel. Several minutes later and room started shaking again from another train rushing past in the opposite direction. ....Now nearly 1am and there has been a random pounding, thumping, scraping noise for the last couple of hours, and something that sounds like a giant sheet of metal being flexed back and forth. Finally passed out from exhaustion. 3:45am awakened by two sharp loud thumps next door. Suspect noise all night has been caused by some kind of poorly maintained mechanical equipment. Any way to give this place a negative 5 star rating?
Stayed here on the way to Mom's house for Thanksgiving. The check in was quick and the staff was helpful and friendly. We took advantage of close proximity to McDonald's to grab a quick snack. My son enjoyed the pool and we both enjoyed the ample pillows and comfortable beds. The complementary breakfast was good. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
The staff at check in and check out were extremely helpful and very nice. They went the extra mile to assure we were happy with our room. The breakfast buffet was very good and free. A great location just off the interstate and all the amenities we could ask for.
This was always a good place to stay, now it is becoming a great one. Customer service has improved over the years to the point of the staff almost reading our minds to your needs. Even in the middle of a remodel ,which was almost invisible, the place was in good shape and ran like a top. A request for some help with a request was taken seriously and response was extremely quick. Under the old management this would have probably been passed over. They are really trying hard to earn your business and in doing so are offering great service.
We chose this hotel, as we travel for work with our pets, and their website claimed they are 'pet friendly', with a fee of $10 per pet, per night. For a nightly rate, that's reasonable . . . but when you're staying for four months of work, it adds up quick. We have a five year old female lab, and a six year old male cat . . . both are fixed, and the cat is declawed. Neither have ever caused any problems during any of our hotel stays. We spoke with 'Sam', the GM, about getting a possible discount, as just the pet fees alone would total $2,440 for our total stay . . . a hefty chunk, considering all the other expenses of living/working on-the-road. After some haggling over a possible price reduction, Sam told me the best he could do on the pet fees was $1,900 for the entire stay. He also said that we were lucky to get that, since he had given our Company a reduced rate on our room. I tried to explain to 'Sam' that the Company pays for the room, but we are responsible for the pet fees. He then informed me that because of the reduced room rate, he required that we pay the entire $1,900 up front, and that it would be non-refundable, in case my fiance was sent to another location to work. I told 'Sam' we were unable to pay the entire $1,900 up front. His response to me was that we would need to find other accommodations. Period. 'Sam' then informed me that the hotel was in the middle of some major renovations, and we would be required to change rooms 4 - 5 times during our four-month stay. I definitely was given the impression that 'Sam' did not want our business. We ended up staying only one more night at the BW, then moved to a new location. After over a year's worth of hotel stays from Ohio to California and back, this hotel had the worst customer service I've ever experienced. And the other Front Desk personnel are just as bad . . . no smiles, no greetings as you pass through the lobby. I noticed the same attitudes when they dealt with other guests. There were other issues with this BW: a king mattress that felt more like a box spring, a bathtub/shower that was yellowed and stained, and one small elevator that shook and jumped as you moved between floors. We would never stay here again . . . with or without pets!
Everything was great. No problems. Breakfast was hot and very good. Front desk was helpful. Check in easy and fast. Pool was clean and water was clean Will use again when back in Richmond. Hotel was close to resaurants
Staff were not very friendly or helpful. Hotel was dated. Bed was hard as a rock. Railroad right behind the hotel. Pet fee is ridiculous and the owner is very rude and inflexible. Advertised grab and go breakfast from 5-6:00 a.m. There was never anything out. When we checked out, the manager never even asked why or what they could do to make it right.
Clean! Nice! Good place!! I always love Best Western Hotels...I feel they are less of a gamble! Always friendly always clean..and pet friendly!! They have the better breakfasts too!! All around the better place to stay!
We've stayed at this Best Western several times on our travels and set it as a destination point because we are always happy with the accommodations. Beds are very comfy, staff is cheerful and attentive and the price is affordable. They also have a good selection of breakfast items. And if you love Italian food just go down the road to Gallo's for a great evening meal. This Best Western is definitely a thumbs up for travelers.
Great staff and rooms. The beds were too soft and wiggly for my liking. Wide variety at breakfast and staff was helpful. It was not far off the highway but the frontage road it is located on was hard to find at night.
We stopped here on our way home from spending a month on the road. I rate hotels based on cleanliness, comfort, and amenities (especially a fridge), not on how "fancy it looks or is". It's a bonus if brakfast is included as this saves time and money in the morning while traveling. The price was reasonable, the rooms, lobby, hallways and breakfast area were very clean. The room was a decent size, and the high speed wifi was actually that. We stayed in a lot of hotels that claimed to have it, but really didn't. The heating/cooling unit was quiet (in some hotels they are not). It was close to the highway, but in a quiet location. The room was very comfortable. The staff was friendly.
I was on a college visit weekend with my child. This hotel was clean and convenient to the highway and restaurants. the staff was very friendly and the breakfasts were very good (especially the made to order omelettes)
We have enjoyed most BW's that we have stayed in and this one did not disappoint. It was conveniently right off the interstate and had many choices of places to eat near by. There was a nice lime flavored water in the lobby as well as coffee. The room was clean, comfy, and had all the amenities covered. The breakfast had most anything you wanted. ( the eggs were cold but I noticed that the man who was covering the front desk and breakfast area filled everything just as we were leaving.)
Clean, comfortable, good complementary hot breakfast, close to restaurants and the convenient to the interstate. They even have milk bones for their canine guests in the lobby. I will stay here again when we travel west to visit family.
I don't have anything negative to say about this hotel. The staff - every one of them we dealt with in various capacities, were so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, up to date, and comfortable. It is conveniently located right off of Interstate 70, with lots of restaurants all around - some within walking distance. It's not far from the mall and movie theater, and downtown is just minutes away.
I would definately stay there again. Hotel was well maintained and parking was good. Easy access to the Interstate as well. Rooms were spacious with a good size refrigerator and microwave. Good breakfast too. There was elevator service to all floors and luggage carts to make it easy to get to one's room.
I had originally booked a room somewhere else, but was grossed out by the accommodations there, so my husband and I went looking for another pet friendly hotel and found this lovely gem! First, Junior, the front desk agent, was fantastic, very professional, checking us in quickly and being so understanding of our situation - great customer service! The room was beautiful - you would never have known that our room was a pet-friendly room, so clean and fresh smelling - thank you to the housekeeping staff! But the breakfast - absolutely wonderful! The breakfast attendant - Rami, kept the area clean, and well stocked, and was even taking orders for freshly made omelettes - I can't imagine anyone ever complaining. And the seating in the breakfast area was so comfy - couches and plush chairs! Honestly, worth the money and I would recommend to ALL!
One of the best. This property is well taken care of, skillfully staffed with the best people I have encountered and has a very caring atmosphere. This should be the flagship for Best Western. Job well done.
We were very pleased. I am a Hilton Honors member and usually stay at Hampton. Hampton was $40 higher so we decided to stay here and all was good. rooms and lobby were very clean. Hot coffee and hot water for tea always available. Was not so sure about the policy of allowing pets but no problem at all. Was quiet. No odors anywhere. The staff was super. Dev who took our reservation and checked us in. Tabetha who was manger on duty when we checked out. very efficient and friendly. Remmy the breakfast attendant was wonderful. Kept breakfast area supplied, clean, and took omelet orders. Yes, freshly made omelets in the morning. What a nice touch. Shower was very nice also and plenty of hot water. We had a hiking group here, The Happy Hikers and all were pleased.
Booked thru AAA. Entered dirty lobby about 8:38 pm. Called to other locations for a room, but nothing nearby, had to stay, needed to not drive any more that evening. Rug had a pet or vomit odor. At 10:45 pm hear power tools being used right under our room. Couldnt report to front desk because phones were not hooked up. Got dressed. Reported problem to front desk. Her thoughtful response was " they shouldnt be too much longer". Workman overheard my complaints and agreed to not continue. Not emergency work he stated. Then why at 10:45 pm? Beds not made professionally. Breakfast sloppily presented. No pride at this location. Best Western corporate management and on site management really need to get involved here. We are 70 and travel extensively. NO MORE BEST WESTERN !!! I am also going to report to AAA.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, an above average hotel breakfast. No complaints here. Just sayin':: If you're not a "dog-person" you may be put-off by the canine-friendly hotel. (P.S. I like dogs). Typing this to get to 200 chars. : )
This hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but the breakfast WOW! They served soy milk in addition to milk, for those of us with allergies and made custom-made fresh omelets for all guests who wanted them.
This was a nice hotel. Good location, clean, reasonable. Easy access off I-70 heading east. Would stay here again when in the area. Walk across the street to various dining options. Quiet hotel with no issues.
This is not a five-star hotel in terms of grandeur, but the service was excellent, the room was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. I would definitely stay here again.
Best Western has consistent performance and this is not exception. Room was clean and fully furnished. Bed somewhat soft with multiple pillow. Breakfast has multiple options. Decent price for service. Our room tv and phone did not work. Maintenance came immediately. Device were unplugged!? But the rest of the stay was quite acceptable. Very quiet over night
The staff goes out of their way to help make sure you're happy. Breakfast was catered to everyone's likings. They personally will make you an egg omelet and bring it to you. Super friendly and accommodating. You'll enjoy your stay here for sure.
The only kind thing I can say is the staff was nice. The room wasn't very clean. The tv gets 3 channels, deadbolt broken off door, light in bathroom has no cover. Overall bad. All of this for $100 a night.
We always enjoy the Best Western in Richmond. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast on the weekend was especially good with the omelet station. The best place to stay in Richmond, Indiana
To start out with the staff at this Best Western are beyond amazing!!!! We came in at 3 am and didn't have reservations until the next day, but they accommodated us with a meeting room turned into an actual room!! When the morning came around to wait for our actual room by check out they actually had our room ready. The hotel is extremely clean, the staff are amazing and the pool was actually warm and enjoyable!!!! Thank you so much for a great stay!!!!!! I give the property a 10 out of 10!!!!!!!!!!
No frills, basic room to spend the night in. The beds were a bit soft and the blinds did not shut out all the light. However, the room was clean with no smell or mold in the bathroom. Three main requirements when staying in a hotel. Right off I-70 great when worried about easy access.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Comfortable beds and bedding. Very good breakfast (loved the pancakes). Super friendly staff. This was a great stop-over stay to get us well rested for the rest of our road trip.
Autumn Oaks 2017 trip.Great trip this year.First time at BW here in Richmond,Indiana...This place is worth the price since good location, place to tie dogs out back..And is a pet friendly place for are Coon hounds..Great breakfast overall....average taste but filling...
Although we were traveling during the week of July 4th for a funeral and had to cancel our original reservations, the facility honored our rates from the previous week. When I inquired about other family coming, they gave them the same rates too. Living in a tourist town, I'm not used to seeing this type of compassion. They provided all my special requests in traveling with two elderly family members also. I will continue to stay here when I visit my family in the future.
We had 14 family members staying at this BW to attend my mother's funeral. We had several options for hotels, but we needed one that guaranteed a fridge and microwave in every room due to my grandson's food intolerances. BW has a fridge and microwave in every room, free high speed wifi and free hot breakfast. They were about $50 a night cheaper than the Hampton and Holiday Inns across the street. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful with my two young grandsons! We ate family meals that we brought in from outside and used the tables in the lobby area, and staff made sure we had a high chair, paper plates, and napkins. The location is convenient to I-70 and lots of restaurants. The breakfast was consistently good, with scrambled eggs and a meat choice of bacon one morning and sausage patties the next, as well as waffles, sausage gravy and biscuits, and a variety of breads, yogurt, cold cereal, etc. We had a king bed room with a sleeper sofa and a desk and chair, with plenty of room for the family to hang out in our room and the grandsons to play. If you stay in Richmond for any reason, save your money over the Hamptons and Holidays and stay here.
Phone didn't work, internet didn't work, Building is drab and worn. Complimentary breakfast was TERRIBLE. Some kind of egg substitute for the scrambled eggs. Coffee was weak and tasted like instant coffee, not brewed coffee.
We just needed a place to rest our weary heads on a road trip to Indiana University from Pittsburgh, PA. This hotel fit the bill: hotel was reasonably priced, clean, quiet, and had a very good breakfast.
I like this hotel. It's good and clean, the staff is friendly and the room look pretty nice. Although the location is pretty far from the shopping center and downtown but there are some restaurant nearby
Hotel was fine for a one night stay. It was close to dining options. We were driving to Maine and wanted a place to stay. We did not have a reservation. We needed two beds and prefer queen size. This hotel met our needs.
After checking in here on July 7, 2017 Went to plug in my cell phone just to find I had brought the wrong charger with me. Went to the front desk to see where the nearest verizon store was and told them what had happened. The manager on duty told me that they had storm warnings out and she thought she may have one that would work. She found one and let me use it while I was there. Everyone was very helpful and the room was very quiet and staff very helpful. was there about 3 days. Will stay there again.
Roo.s were nice and clean. It was quiet and peaceful. Rooms were tidy and guest service was good. Had a nice pool and nice little gym. Breakfast was good. Over all it was a nice stay and one of the o my hotels I stay at
Our family stopped here while on a trip. We were favorable impressed by how clean and new-looking the place was. I was told that it was recently remodeled. The stairway between floors was nicely carpeted and attractively decorated. There is only one elevator. Breakfast was very good, with biscuits & gravy, eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes, and a variety of other items.
We checked in at almost midnight but were greeted promptly and checked in quickly. Our room was pleasant, clean and comfortable. It had a fridge and microwave. There was a stool but no chair which was a little weird but didn't impact our stay. The bathroom has a lot of nice counter space. Both sides of the bed have a reading light and nightstand and outlets for chargers are easily accessible. The common areas were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine with the usual selection of cereals, bread products, eggs, sausage, fruit, and waffle makings. We will definitely check out Best Western in the future.
Hotel itself is on the outdated side. One elevator. Room door did not stay closed. Had to deadbolt the door to keep it closed. AC fan only one speed worked. Mold in bathroom. Small TV in room, poor reception.
We use this Best Western because we have a dog and they welcome her. We have pretty much stopped using BW because many do not accept dogs. WE are using Days Inn now, I think they all accept our small dog.
Great location for historical visit of Richmond area with local travel easy to navigate. Plenty of good restaurants with easy access of main Route 40 (Old National Road) and several museums with quality collections; Wayne County Historical Society, Model T Museum downtown Richmond - two buildings of Model T's restored and some original. See Vern for the best walking tour.
Sorry to say, we just were not impressed. Lobby was bland, employees blah, breakfast was good. People smoking outside late when we arrived, and in the morning when we left, appeared to be loitering but they may have been guests. Wouldn't stay here again.
Came back to this hotel as it is very clean and in a great location. Restaurants nearby and right by the highway. The room was very nice with a chair for viewing the tv. Everything is convenient in the hotel. Also the pool was open until midnight!!
Friendly employee's and great breakfast. Had a king room, nice size, good bed, quiet room. Good parking, walk to restaurants,, very clean rooms. Would recommend and I would go back. Enjoyed our stay. Easy off and on to the Highway.
I know you can't be responsible for the cars in your parking lot but when someone calls to report a breakin and the employee doesn't even ask for your name or when it happened, it seems a bit uncaring.
This hotel is located near restaurants and the interstate. Parking was adequate, room was clean, whole hotel was well kept up. In the afternoon a storm came and electricity was out. Front desk lady and owner of hotel were present to get things straightened out and those of us in the lobby were kept informed.
On our way re locating east to New England. Following a long drive and arriving late, we found this Best Western to be a terrific stop-over. Our tired Collie was welcomed! No extra charge! ( Other motels wanted up to $75 per night surcharge!! Almost the cost of our room! EGAD!) While being a totally pet- friendly motel, we found absolutely NO doggie odor anywhere. Our room was fresh and clean and spotless. It easily accommodated our large puppy's kennel, and she slept soundly all through the night. We were never bothered or awakened by barking anywhere in the building. The bed was wonderful: the sheets felt like silk! How divine! Breakfast was included and was okay. Know that we are health fanatics so you may find the breakfast just fine. The staff was warm and welcoming. Kudos to BW for becoming completely pet friendly! Would stay again in a heart beat.
Decent room if a bit overpriced. Everything was fine with the room as far as I could tell. I had my children with me and they seemed to like it too. Breakfast was good. Staff seemed friendly and nice.
We stayed on a busy weekend. The A/C was not working properly and leaking into the room. We were told that we would receive a 50% refund on our entire stay--this was not honored. The door handle to our room came off in my hand. There were suspicious young men running around trying their room key in every room. We've had better experiences here...but not this time.
This was a great hotel - clean, great staff, and good location. BUT... our beds were old and horrible. If you were sleeping by yourself. It might not be noticable, but with my husband, it made a trough. So I slept with the skinny teen. It still was a problem. We got in very late so I wasn't going to move. I told the staff in the morning. They were very nice about it. Except for the beds, I would give it five stars. The beds were a one. FYI, the hotel had several people with very sweet dogs. No problems with them, but if you have allergies, it may not be the best choice. If you have pets, it seems very good.
The room was just fine and the staff was efficient though not super friendly. The breakfast was quite good and the wifi was terrific. Good choice for people travelling cross country and a way to avoid staying in Dayton since it's just a half hour past it
We rolled in to the hotel later in the evening and they gave us a great rate on our room. Room was clean and had Hershey kisses on our our bed. Hey had a nice free breakfast. It's a pet friendly hotel, which we couldn't even tell until the next morning when we saw all the people and their dogs going for morning walks. Can't say enough about the friendly staff. Wonderful stay!
From the time we checked in until we left, we had several chances to interact with the staff. In all cases, they were pleasant and professional. The property and accommodations were top quality. Our stay was the last on a 10 day trip. It was refreshing. Will stay again and recommend it. Breakfast was excellent. THE best on our trip.
great place to stay. Service was excellent, breakfast good, room was spacious, and bed comfortable. Great location with several place to eat within minutes also very close to interstate. Great value. I am sure I will stay here again.
Make sure that you don't book a reservation through a 3rd party, because you will be charged a 62.5% booking fee. You need to be sure that you are booking through Best Western and not a 3rd party. Web site for Best Western listed a telephone number and I thought was Best Western, was not Best Western. I was charged $190.22 and the bill from the Best Western where I stayed was 118.93.
So we stayed here for just a night on our way to Dayton Ohio. In searching the area for a hotel we found this had the best reviews. We arrived late around 10pm and the room we were given was the ada room. Upon entering the room you could smell like a musty or mold smell. I think it was from the bathroom which was all tile and setup for a wheelchair to roll in and out of the shower area. The room itself was clean the bed was a little broken down on one side. The furniture was old and it had the popcorn ceiling. I was really annoyed at the condition of the bathroom. The curtain for the shower kept hitting you woke in there because it was so close. The light section above the toilet and vanity was wide open and you could see the electrical conduit. The toilet when you sat on it rocked. They did have free breakfast but the scrambled eggs were so overcooked I couldn't get them down. I would recommend. Staying somewhere else.
This was a nice clean, comfortable, Best Western. It has the typical BW breakfast items. The only criticism is it needs the automatic front doors. It is very difficult to get a luggage cart through the front doors when you are by yourself. I would think it would be extremely difficult for a handicapped person.
My reservation was messed up and no one would help fix it. It has been over a week and I am still waiting for someone to help me. The facility itself was good, the breakfast was good, but as far as the reservation and price of each day was all different and they messed up the days I was to stay there so they charged me more than they should, canceled a day they shouldn't have and charged me extra for the day they had canceled.
My wife and I extremely pleased with my recent stay at the Best Western Hotel at Richmond Indiana. The staff was friendly, courteous and genuine in their interaction. The hotel was in very good condition. Our room was nice, as were the free goodies they had for us in recognition of our awards status. I cannot make these claims for the following night we stayed at Embassy Suites Downtown Indianapolis. That place was overpriced and made us feel like a number, rather than people.
would recommend this hotel for quality and service with a great staff and location Quietness of room and great breakfast area and food. Just off the interstate makes for easy on and off access to this property.
Great hotel. Hotel of choice, when staying in Richmond,IN for many years. Always try to book here first when traveling in this area. Good value for your money.Room are always clean and neat. Friendly professional staff.
We have family in Richmond and visit multiple times each year. We been doing so for years and have tried several other properties. None beat this Best Western! The check-in, the room, the breakfast, the check-out, everything is so much better than our experience with the other properties in the area.
This hotel was ok..needs a lot of upgrading...it did have nice granite bathroom countertops, but has darker carpets (wear shoes), small rooms, narrow, curvy tubs that are slippery (be careful), poor lighting.. (also needs a light over the shower). The breakfast was ok..typical of a regular continental hotel breakfast. The staff was nice.
Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, have stayed here before and probably will again. Close to interstate and easy to get in and out of. Close to restaurants. I would recommend this to anyone traveling through Richmond.
We had not stayed at a Best Western in years and were frankly dubious but we were delightfully surprised. The staff were very courteous, the rooms were clean and neat (including the bathrooms). We would stay here again.
Overall this was a good value. The room was clean, it's close to the exit, and breakfast was good. If you are expecting a luxurious bed that you just don't want to get out of, you won't find it here. No frills, King bed seemed smaller than a King, pillows were small, floppy, an lumpy, and the mattress had no support.
Very friendly towards bikers have stayed at this location a number of times and has always been a great stay. I will come back in the future if traveling through this area keep up the great work Luke and Jamie Herrmann
It was clean and the team there made sure everything was great. They are dog friendly, but if you didn't see them you didn't know they were there. Upon our early check in the young lady literally ran to verify that our room was ready.
I stayed here with my cat while traveling cross country. The room was was very clean with a very comfortable bed. Hand luggage cart and elevator made it easy to get my cat and all the cat stuff up to my room. Very clean shower/tub. Room was pretty quiet as well. I would stay here again!
Our stop at this hotel on our way to North Carolina from South Dakota was meant to be a brief stop over for sleep and breakfast. But we were so I'mma that but we want to go back again. We pulled in after midnight after being on the road for 15 hours with three children. The staff welcomed us with a gift back of snacks and water bottles. The room was impressively clean and nicely furnished. At breakfast, the staff helped us get plates of food for our there small children and continued to serve us by bringing refills. This isn't typical at a self-serve continental breakfast. The options but at breakfast were also pleasing, and the area was clean and well stocked. Also, the staff gave each child a travel bag for the road, including snacks, drinks, and a small toy. I don't know if this is customary, but it stood out to our 7 year old as one of the favorite moments of our ten day trip which included visits to the beach, the mountains, and a children's museum. Great job, Best Western! We will be back!
We were happy to get off the road and find this hotel... nice that it had a little fitness center and an indoor pool ( though we didn't use the pool). Room was clean and had no musty smell, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was convenient and items well stocked. I did hear the train early in the morning, maybe because I was half awake, it was not an issue for my husband, my daughter, or me. Good value, I'd stay again if in the area.
We found this property to be very clean and very basic. The room was clean and spacious. It was equipped with a small refrigerator (no freezer), microwave, flat screen TV and hair dryer. The bed was comfortable and bed linens and towels were average. On the down side, we traveled with a small dog and requested a room on the first floor. Instead we got a room on the third floor. This turned out to be a good thing as we discovered that the hotel is located near a train track. If you're looking for a good night's sleep and the sound of trains do not bother you, it's a descent choice. We slept fine, once we realized it was a train we were hearing. Just a note, if you're traveling east, you may want to choose a hotel in Indiana before crossing into Ohio. We found the room rates on the Ohio side of the boarder two to three times more expensive for a similar basic room. We would stay here again.
I want to like this hotel. The people were fine. The room was fine. But they charged me triple for one night. It's a good thing I look at my credit card bills otherwise they would just keep the money. I've called to try to get the extra two charges reversed but you apparently have to wait for a manager. Pretty terrible, shady service.
This may be the best designed "accessible" room we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many. Room 115 was king bed room with lots of space to maneuver a wheelchair or walker. The bed was not too high and transfer was easy. If I were to design an accessible bathroom at home this would be it. The roll-in shower had plenty of grab bars, a fold down padded seat, and all shower controls were within reach of someone seated, including the flexible hose shower head. The floor was a rough textured tile that was very slip resistant. All shower water sloped back down into the shower drain. There was adequate counter space at sink and the mirror low enough for a seated person. Toilet was the slightly higher style which was nice. Room was clean and quiet. Staff friendly. And this property is pet friendly, even had a bowl of dog biscuits at lobby. Breakfast was great. Hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice etc. Very clean and well stocked. My only minor issue was the "accessible" room was at the opposite end of the hallway making it a long walk for someone using a walker.
I can always count on a enjoyable stay at Best Western in Richmond, IN. The room and hotel itself is always clean and inviting. The entire staff is friendly and always ready to help with anything I've needed. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to or through the area.
Spent a few days visiting my son and daughter in law and stayed here. Awesome place, very friendly people, clean rooms and great breakfast. I would stay here again on my next visit. I can honestly say someone was always cleaning or vacuuming no matter what time of the day. No one was ever just standing around; yet everyone had time to say hello and ask if my stay was going well? The cleaning staff was top notch. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Can't say enough about the friendly staff -- in particular, Amy went OUT of her way to provide great service, offered me a hot right-out-of-the-oven cookie, tips on dinner locations, shared complete info on breakfast for the next morning, etc. A+++ The location was very convenient to I-70, right off the highway -- with tons of restaurants and other types of shopping near by. There is a train running behind the hotel -- didn't really bother me. And breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The room was nicely decorated, loved the huge sink counter to put all my stuff on, shower isn't the fanciest I've ever seen -- but clean, good water pressure. Here's where my review takes a turn -- while the room was very nice, there was a linen decorative throw on the bed that should have been burned before I arrived. It had the nastiest looking stain on it -- which, of course, led me to fully check ALL of the bed linens. The bed sheets, blankets, pillow cases were an A+. However, that throw should have NEVER been place back on the bed. I noticed that the bed skirt, made from the same silky material as the throw, was also stained, everywhere. I've attached photos to make my point. I left a note for housekeeping alerting them to the throw with the stain. I'm hoping this was just a one-off situation -- and would hope that as housekeeping prepares rooms for new guests, items like this are NOT placed back in the room. These seemingly small things (given that it was 1 single issue in an otherwise perfect lodging scenario) can make the difference in repeat business.
This is a well kept/clean pet friendly hotel. My wife and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone with pets, traveling Richmond, Indiana area. Everyone on the hotel staff was very accepting of our 2 little dogs.
Horrible stay, do not recommend. The front desk staff was rude. The bathtub/shower was a death trap, the floor of the tub was severely warped leaving nowhere flat to stand, constantly sliding around. Busy train tracks are adjacent to the parking lot. The entire room vibrated every time a train went by, which seemed like all night. The breakfast is disgusting.
This is a lovely little hotel. The staff were wonderful and the rooms very nice. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed our stay. It is located near shops and restaurants. Parking at the hotel was good as well.
I travel through this area at least once a year and always stay here. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They are in process of updating the lobby area, hopefully will continue through other common areas. 2 things I'd point out are the railroad tracks running sort of behind the hotel. Many trains run by, but no train horns sound. However if you are super sensitive to outside noise, asks for a room facing the road instead of the back. Also, breakfast ends at 9 am sharp! They start putting it away right at 9 am so don't be late! Personally I think that is too early since not all travelers are early risers. Otherwise, it's a nice place to stay. Not the Ritz, but clean, comfortable and safe.
This was an average motel, but it gave us a feeling that it was less than average. There was an aura to the building that said this motel has not been cleaned to the level that should be expected of a motel of this class. This gave us an uneasy feeling throughout the building, including in the breakfast area. We couldn't comfortably recommend this motel.
We chose the Best Western because it was a great price and had breakfast included. the staff were very helpful and friendly and the hot breakfast was good. The room was lovely and clean and the hotel was well managed and very well kept. The pool was not operational for a couple of days. It was a very nice stay and we would stay here again.
Made reservation for handicapped accessible room close to elevator months in advance but this was not available on check in. Reservationist did arrange for us to move to a handicapped room the next day. Handicapped parking spaces were not marked.
My wife and I generally stay at this hotel while she attends the annual State Line Basketweaving Convention. I would rate this establishment about 2 1/2 stars. Rooms are clean and spacious. Beds could be more comfortable, but not bad. Bathroom is also clean and spacious. Hot coffee and decent hot breakfast available at 6am, which is good for early travelers. Generally friendly staff, and easy access from the interstate. Restaraunts close by for evening meals. Train tracks close by but didn't notice much train traffic. There was a problem with the pool while we were there this year (as indoor pools that host herds of children are likely to have), which had some parents understandably upset. We plan to return again next year.
Been going here for years when visit our grandkids. There are new owners but management has to have more staff. Most mornings and evenings no one was at the front desk and you had to look for the staff. The wake up call system did not work. There were problems with the pool and our grandkids got a rash that required Benadryl and anti itch lotion. The location is great and I hope the new owners fix these problems.
Breakfast was ok but the coffee was only luke warm at best, two mornings in a row. After a little time in the pool our family was sneezing and coughing. The pool was clean but the coughing lasted all night. The wifi was good though and so was the location
My business colleague booked this hotel for us. I am normally a HIE or HI kind of traveler, but he's stayed here before. It is a very good recommendation. The price is extremely reasonable. The amenities are nice, the bed is comfortable and the staff is very friendly. For a quick one night stay, this is a perfect hotel.
Have stayed here once before. Liked it and returned. Friendly staff, clean rooms, reasonably priced. Hot breakfast included. Easy access from the interstate. Restaraunts close by for evening meals. Train tracks close by but didn't notice much train traffic. I plan a staying here anytime I'm in the area.
We have stayed here before because of the location and the cleanliness of the Hotel. The staff is courteous and helpful. The Hotel is quiet except for an occasional train passing by. The only bad thing I can say about the room is the bed mattress was too firm for my wife and I, otherwise it is a great place to stop.
This is the third time we've been at this hotel since 2012. Each time has been excellent. The staff is great, very friendly, and the rooms are the right size with comfortable. Lot of folks I'm sure aren't crazy about the railroad just west of the parking lot but I find it soothing as it reminds me of when I was a child growing up in Indiana. Plenty of variety for breakfast and I love the bacon. We stayed 4 nights each time and the only thing I could think of is it would be great if y'all had rooms with a full kitchen as we can get groceries at Kroger and cook in for a night or 2 even though there's plenty of places to eat on the east side of town that are less than a mile away. Other than that, the hotel is perfect!
Best Western is a good stay, good service , clean, comfortable rooms, breakfast included. located on major used routes of travel, good locations overall. I would recommend a stay at Best Western here or in my travels overseas to Australia.
We were traveling through the state and made a last minute booking at this Best Western. The staff was very helpful, especially in suggesting places for dinner. The room was fairly spacious and very clean. The beds comfortable. The breakfast which was included offered a full breakfast even though it was a help-yourself style.
Loved this place! Staff was so friendly and helpful. I needed a plug for my phone charger and desk gal lent me her personal plug. Could have easily told me, "Sorry, we don't have any." I will be back!
We stayed here while traveling through Indiana. The room was nice and clean with a large bathroom. There are several restaurants nearby. Continental breakfast was fine. We would stay here again if we were in the area.
We've stayed here 3 times in recent years and always had a good experience. The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable and the breakfast has a nice variety of items. Definitely meets all of our requirements at an excellent price.
The BW has been consistent these past 200 years we have gone to family reunions. The rooms are clean, service is good to unobtrusive and the breakfast forgettable but hey, its the hometown so why not?
Overall the hotel probably wasn't two stars. It was probably more like three. When we entered the room there was a very musty smell. Apparently turning the air conditioner on for guests prior to their arrival so it doesn't smell like the room hasn't been aired out in seven years isn't a priority. The beds aren't very comfortable. It's obvious the mattresses are either low quality or old (or both), and the sheets barely keep you warm. What knocked it down to two (and almost one) was the fact that the showers had NO nonslip surface whatsoever. The tile wasn't textured, nor was there a mat. I took a nasty fall and wound up with two major bruises on both arms and my right knee. Best Western needs to get this figured out before they wind up with a lawsuit on their hands.
We have stopped here on two occasions and will probably stay here on any trip through the area. The Motel is very near the freeway (easy off and on). The rooms and beds are comfortable. Nice pool and fair workout room. Breakfast is about average for this price motel. If you stop on this side of Richmond and like Italian food you should try Gallo's.
We started our trip by going to this hotel. During check in we were upgraded to a better room right away without asking! That was great and very thoughtful of the front desk manager. When we got to the room it was clean and had everything we needed including a microwave and a mini fridge. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a terrible hotel. We booked this hotel because we were visiting family in the area and other hotels did not have the type of room we needed. We have one family member in a wheelchair. After walking and rolling through a haze of cigarette smoke created by hotel employees smoking right outside the lobby door, the doors to enter the hotel lobby are impossible to open and operate a wheelchair. They are old heavy doors, with NO handicapped button. The lobby looks old and tired. Our hotel room had a large unidentifiable disgusting stain on one of the beds. It made me wonder if the room had been cleaned at all. In the morning, our hotel room lost ALL water pressure. For about 30 minutes there was no water during peak shower time! The hotel has one tiny elevator. The hotel is at the interchange of a major interstate highway and a major state highway near a mall and restaurants. You hear a lot of road noise. The drapes would not completely close so I had a light from the gas station next door shining in my eyes all night. There is free breakfast, which was ok. This hotel experience was terrible. The Best Western corporation should be ashamed that it's name is on this property. I could not wait to leave this awful hotel. When we departed, it was through the incredibly heavy doors banging and scraping against the wheelchair, and finally outside into the haze of hotel employee cigarette smoke.
Stayed overnight while traveling along I-70. Average motel, and the free breakfast was typical for a three star motel. One warning: the motel is "pet friendly" and there were dogs barking in the hallway at night, which was disturbing.
We stayed here two nights while moving our son in to college. The place is clean, although our room had a funny smell (mold? moisture? cigarette smoke of the past?) that dissipated after we were in it for a while. The young woman who checked us in was friendly and helpful, but the other staff we met were less outgoing. The breakfast is fine...I have had better at other chain hotel buffet-style. Tiny but clean indoor pool which was nearly out of towels when we went.
Motel is very clean and well maintained! Staff very helpful and courteous! I'm a handicapped person, and the handicapped rooms are centrally located and very spacious. Wifi is fast, and easy to get connected. Also handicapped parking spaces are close to the main entry. this is an all over great place to stay.
Front desk was friendly at check-in. Room was clean and king size bed was comfortable. Location was great, right off the interstate and multiple restaurants with in walking distance. Only negative was train tracks 500' behind hotel. However, we would stay there again.
We spent one night as a couple in this cosy little hotel. Although the check and was quick, when we arrived in our room, we realized that it had not been cleaned yet. We went back to the front desk and they quickly switched us to a different room. Once we go to a new room it was clean and ready to go. It was a decent size a room with a small fridge in it and a king size bed. We woke up to a breakfast that was included in the price. It was overall a great facility and we would come back here again.
Nice, clean hotel with comfortable beds and friendly staff. We've stayed here several times and it is always pleasant. The breakfast has lots of choices and adds to the value. It is pet friendly and we didn't bring a pet, but we saw several. You wouldn't know from how clean the rooms are that pets have been there. Highly recommend.
A good Best Western. Tabetha, who checked me in, was delightful, helpful, happy, and able to handle multiple issues at once, including a call from a guy who didn't know where he was. The room was clean, the bed sleep-inducing, the shower hot enough. The hotel allows dogs and I met some nice ones. Breakfast was good, and included bacon, always a plus. There was not a freezer in my little refrigerator, but they let me use the kitchen freezer.
Easy access on and off the interstate and they provide large truck parking. Nice place to stay. Breakfast options are good. Love having inside corridors as it is much less noisy than outside corridors. Cracker Barrel is convenient and a good place to eat.
We stayed at this location on a Saturday night, after spending the day in Richmond. the young man at the Front Desk was very friendly and helpful, answering questions about the area, and giving recommendations about some local restaurants we asked about. PROs--Room was clean and comfortable with microwave and frig. Other guests had pets, and this hotel seemed to be accommodating them well. Nice breakfast. CONs-- Mattress was super soft and did not help us get a good night sleep...I would put this on the list for an update soon. Bathroom had shampoo and lotion, but no conditioner? Maybe this was just a slip by Housekeeping. Overall a decent place for a one night visit.
We chose this motel based on good reviews, this was our experience: We checked in after 14 hours on the road The first room had an intolerable foul odor We were given another room which did not smell fresh or clean, but was acceptable odorwise, however, the bathroom was not clean. Tired and exhausted, we just cleaned the bathroom ourself rather than going through the process of getting yet another room. We asked for a late check out and we're told noon was check out time, however, were woken up before 6am by a wake up call we never requested and then again by housekeeping, pounding on the door around 9am, and again by housekeeping talking loudly outside our door. In short, there was nothing that would ever make us want to stay at a Best Western again.
We stayed one night here with our 2 dogs. Very nice hotel and a nice place to stay with our fur-babies. Grass needed to be a little better maintained, but overall very enjoyable. Staff was nice. Breakfast was very good. Hotel was clean and well kept.
Just a stop over from Roadtrip. Hotel had a funny odor in hall and rooms. They do allow pets so maybe the cleaning products. Beds are very soft. Just seemed a bit worn but ok for a quick overnight. Front desk were very nice but breakfast hot items were cold.
It was overall a good hotel. Mostly friendly staff. It was clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable. It wasn't anything fancy but for the price it was a great deal. I was visiting and this hotel was also in a convenient spot.
We were traveling to attend a high graduation of a granddaughter in Richmond, In. and needed a motel to stay one night. Using AAA the Best Western Classic Inn was available for the night and had a rate that was cheaper than other motels in the area. The room was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning really started the day right.
The first room we were assigned had an extremely strong, perfume or incense smell and the beds were mushy. The manager and his wife brought us around to several other rooms. All of them had mushy mattresses, so we chose the one with the least perfume smell. They said it was their cleaning products. I had the worst night's sleep in a Best Western ever.
It was a good value for my money. It was very clean, the staff was very helpful, it has a nice pool, and a reallg good breakfast! It's in a very convenient location to I-70 and other major highways, and is within walking distance of restaurants, etc. I would highly recommend this hotel for somebody traveling alone, or with a family!
Very nice place run by wonderful, helpful people. The motel looks new I don't know if it is or not but the upkeep of it makes it look that way. Rooms are clean and roomy. Beds very comfortable. Girl at the front desk (sorry I didn't get her name) was very helpful with finding a good restaurant for us to have dinner. Will stay here again.
Stopped here late at night(after midnight.) on a drive across country. The rooms were clean, comfortable and up to datewith flat dcreen, microwave and mini fridge. The hotel appears to be pet friendly. Nice stop.
We have stayed here twice, en route back to Iowa after a trip to Ohio. On both occasions our room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the staff was eager to help. The location, a few blocks form the interstate, was convenient yet not overly noisy. The room price was reasonable as well. Highly recommended as a stopover on long drives.
Very nice staff.Hotel was clean.Beds were alittle soft for me,thats just me...A|C was quite..Shower head was very high up..tub was a weird shape..when taking a shower..to stand...my hubbys got big feet..LOLDidn't stay for the breakfast....but all in all a good stay..
We stopped by on a very long trip. It was very comfortable but we mostly slept. Being on the Ohio line made the trip seem shorter when we left in the morning. Staff was very pleasant. The hot breakfast was well done and quite tasty. It was pet friendly and even provided clean up bags which the other pet friendly hotels we used did not.
Check in was made quick & simpler by Laura's enthusiasm. Room # 209. A good size room compared to other B.W. suites. A firm King bed, with four 3/4 pillows. Two night stands, each with lamps. Writing desk with lamp & swivel chair. All lamps have one or two electrical outlets. Separate cloth comfort chair. A flat screen sets atop a three drawer chest with 63 channels. Micro/fried.. An enclosed closet with iron & board. Eight wooden hangers & full length door mirror. Bathroom good size. Shower/tub combo. Hot water for shower in four seconds. Plenty of towels. Bottles of shampoo, conditioner & body lotion. For the lady guest La Fresh travel lite make up remover wipe. Wall to wall sink counter, with matching mirror. Coffee maker with three packets of decaf & regular. Hair dryer. The tub's faucet's water very powerful, while shower head gentle to face & body.. Safely wall bar. The shampoo has a silky feeling. Bath & bedroom area very clean. Better than average carpet. This facility is three floors with elevator. Elevator is on the small size, however large enough to accept a luggage cart. Two carts are available in the lobby. In the breakfast/lobby is a guest computer, small couch & two comfort chairs. On the first floor by elevator are ice, snack & soda machines. Second & third floors have only ice & soda. Breakfast is 6:00 to 9:00. A good starter breakfast. Waffle maker, three dried cereals & Quaker Oats. Biscuits & gravy, steamer for scrambled eggs & sausage patties. Hard boiled eggs, red & green apples. Muffins, bread & bagels, bowl of different chunks of fresh fruit. Coffee , apple & orange juice. Pitcher of ice water. This facility would be the first of five. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Factors being location, helpful staff, clean room & comfortable bed.
This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel, and both times I've left very pleased. I like to travel with my small dogs, and the selections in Richmond that are pet-friendly are very limited. So I'm doubly pleased that this hotel is both pet-friendly and also clean, reasonably priced, and in good condition! Thumbs up!!
Wechose this hotel as it was on the Chocolate Trail. Lady at front desk was very personable. We were told breakfast was eggs, bacon, waffles, and biscuits and gravy and that it was served fro 6-9a.m. Our RM was on first floor which was convenient. We used inside pool which was very cold and had to go get towels as there were none left which was no big deal. Daughter did find a bug crawling on bathroom floor. We checked it out. It was OK. The next morning we were at breakfast 45 minutes before it closed to find no eggs or bacon. When I asked about more was told they ran out a d would not make any more and was very disappointing as we chose the hotel because of the Great breakfast. Also there were no plates. On the positive side hotel is close to highway and front desk was very nice.
Wonderful to have a good breakfast included in the stay. Eggs were obviously pre-packaged, but tasty. Staff is very helpful (especially person who ran the breakfast bar). Salsa would be nice to have with the sort of bland eggs, but I am excited to just have a breakfast included. Love biscuits and gravy!
Convenient to I70, very comfortable and large room. Staff was terrific and very friendly. Bed was not great, but for a one night stopover it was ok. Lots of food choices close to the hotel. We would definitely stay again.
The room was updated and the bed was comfortable. Great hot breakfast in the morning. Only negative would have been the lady working the check-in. All I can say is she must have been having a bad day. Had I not been riding my motorcycle all day, I would have walked out. Hotel was great just didn't need her attitude.
Decided to stop here on the way home from vacation. From the moment we got there, we were greeted with smiles! The staff here is excellent. Seriously the best hotel experience I have had. Jerry was the staff member who helped us check in. He was very helpful and informative. The rooms were very nice and roomy. I loved how many pillows were on the beds. So comfy! This hotel is pet friendly and smoke free! There was free breakfast which was great. A lot to choose from. When we checked out, the service was just as good. Even housekeeping was happy and friendly. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are in the area.
This is a very acceptable hotel with pleasant staff members. Don't expect anything fancy because you aren't going to get it here. Clean rooms, good breakfast with an attentive assistant keeping everything stocked and clean.
Hotel had a good selection for breakfast and adequate seating. Room was quiet and comfortable. Staff was professional and helpful. The light bulb in one of the table lamps was out. The front desk didn't have any to replace the burned out bulb but there were enough other lights in the room. I tried calling the front desk from the room several times but always got a busy signal. In the morning the staff suspected someone had switched the phone line to the data port (I can't verify that). While I was taking a shower I noticed the water was very HARD. It is difficult getting soap off your body after taking a shower. I wanted to use the PC in the lobby but it was off. The night manager said it was supposed to have been fixed. The day staff said they were having trouble finding someone to fix it, with unwanted software being installed on it.
Very satisfied with facility, staff, services. Would definitely recommend. They were very helpful with dinner reservations at local restaurant. Will definitely stay there when in the area in the future.
I titled my review as I did because - there were cookies in the lobby for pets, but nothing for humans! If you are traveling with animals, this may delight you; it did nothing for me. If anything I think I'll leave this hotel to the pet owners. Otherwise, it was an average overnight hotel with average accommodations. It was no bargain, either, as they were no doubt capitalizing on the fact that it was graduation weekend for a nearby school (which brought us there). Great accommodations for families with pets, for certain!
Perfect for two night stay for parents of the grad. Clean, tidy, efficient, inexpensive (with Orbitz discount), staff courteous and helpful. Bed very comfortable. No late -night noise at all from train tracks nearby. Breakfast buffet had awesome do-it your-yourself waffle station. Only negative is that there was no in-room internet service, and no business center. Front desk was helpful in printing our airline boarding passes from their computer.
We were visiting our hometown. Decided on BW and are definitely not sorry. Clean and employees were very helpful. The executive housekeeper we had was great. Very helpful. Breakfast was very good and selection was excellent. Will stay here again when we return for our class reunions.
We stay here twice a year for trips to Eldora Speedway. We have stayed in several nearby hotels over the years, some more expensive but like this one because it is clean and the staff is friendly. It does let you bring pets which I why I didn't give it a 10 since I am allergic to dogs but was advised to stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor since most pet owners stay on the first to take the dogs out. This was helpful and didn't come in contact during our stay.
Stuffy room (windows are locked shut) and bad wifi service. Wouldn't stay here again. Although the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast is ok. Lovely view: our room overlooked the White Castle and the BP station; couldn't ever get the room completely dark...
This was the second Best Western we stayed at on our travels cross country. We liked the accommodations and it worked well with the two cats who were traveling with us. They loved being able to look out the window to see what was going on! The cost at these hotels was really reasonable for three adults and plenty of room. Pet policy was reasonable. Breakfast was good.
Nice clean rooms & courteous staff. Pets are permitted; we are not pet owners and had some concerns; however the rooms was very clean & so was the hallways. Normal hot breakfast items. Plenty of Restaurants in area.
You won't be disappointed staying at this hotel. Very clean. Great room. Everything worked. Nice breakfast. Front desk staff was very professional and friendly, and showed they cared about me through their actions.
This hotel, located on the Indiana/Ohio line next to I-70, is a great hotel at a perfect location, especially for us business travelers. Good restaurants and shopping are right there. It's at Exit 156 in Indiana which is the exit for US 40. As soon as you enter US 40, access to this hotel is obvious and easy.
I would return to this hotel based on my one night stay. Check in was fast and friendly. The room was in very good condition. Every employee that we passed by greeted us with a pleasant 'Hello'. The complimentary breakfast, although called 'continental', had hot items such as scrambled eggs, sausage patties and make your own belgium waffles. Conveniently located right off of the high way.
Beautiful building and excellent personnel but the jets stopped to rev their engines up to take off right beside my wall. We were not able to sleep before the jets had stopped flying out that night. NO, I will not stay there or recommend this single hotel.
We stopped at this hotel on a long trip and were very pleased with our stay. the location just of Interstate 70 was excellent. The staff was well trained, friendly and willing to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The room was very clean and comfortable and was very roomy. The breakfast bar was one of the best we have had at Best Western hotels. There was a good variety of warm and cold items to choose from and they were fresh and appealing. The food was good and the breakfast bar manager was most helpful. Overall a great place to stay.
Checked in late hour due to drive, room reeked of smoke, fan did not work properly. Staff was fine, but at check in the clerk claimed room was 100% smoke free. Now I have to get 200 characters for this review to post.
Such a great place to stay; feels like home....Breakfast daily M-F 6am...9am. On the weekend 6am...10am....The beds are so comfy and we always enjoy staying there because it is so close to all our favorite places to eat....All folks that work there is just so friendly and helpful.....
Clean. Good price. Nice breakfast. Great Staff. beds were comfortable. Good Hot water in Shower. Easy to find from the Interstate, Local restaurant's easy to find Glad I Booked there..Only complaint room got to worm
Had no problems. Check in was easy it didn't take very long at all. We got there at about mid-night and the clerk got us checked in and in a room by 12:05am. Check out was even easier, we had to leave really early in the morning and best of all they are pet friendly.
The main thing we're looking for on a one night stay is a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, we had a tough time sleeping here. The mattresses were lower quality and much too soft for our taste. Bedding was slim: a thin blanket sandwiched between two sheets! Brrr. There were no other blankets in the room, which we realized too late to ask for more. On the plus side, the staff were quite friendly.
This hotel is the only hotel we will stay at when we come to Richmond for business, or anywhere close to Richmond. We will be back and the rooms are great clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. We will be back this year again.
My dog, Cordell, and I were returning from the AKC National Championship Rally Obedience shows in Tulsa, and this was where we spent the last night of our road trip. The reception desk person was friendly, courteous, and even helped me get dog and gear through the doors in one trip. I really liked the fact that there was an elevator - made my life much easier. I overslept, so didn't stay for breakfast, but the breakfast area was roomy, clean, and inviting. Highly recommend, and will definitely plan to stay here again on trips taking us along I-70!
The room was clean and fit 3 of us very nicely. The breakfast was good and everyone on staff was very helpful. It was easy to find a parking space. They also mad check out simple which helped us get on the road faster.
This was a pleasant visit. Nice room, friendly staff, and a really nice breakfast, which was included in the room rate. The rate was competitive in the area, about $75 power night on a two might stay. Plenty of places to eat nearby, and doing a short distance away Rio. One suggestion, keep the pool area much warmer. Diverting while you are standing in the pool area is not a good thing when you are wet. All in all, it wad a pleasant stay, and would stay here again if we were in the area and needed a hotel.
I stayed here once before and chose this again because of my good experience the first time. The second stay confirmed my opinion. I have recommended this hotel to my daughter and son-in-law, and they stayed here on their drive from North Carolina to the Chicago area. They were similarly impressed and pleased with their stay.
We stayed here because they were pet friendly. All the employees were real friendly and helpful. The Rooms were clean and they supplied anything we needed. I will definitely stay here again. I'd recommend this place
Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this hotel. The hotel is located just off the highway and surrounded by a selection of restaurants that are within walking distance. Breakfast was hot and offered a variety of items.
Clean and friendly franchise. Very accommodating, especially since it was 3a when we pulled into their lot. Decent continental breakfast (from 6a-9a weekdays) in a spacious front lobby. And at only $89 (including tax), this is a fabulous deal.
Found hotel on Priceline. Value was superior to other local options. Super location right off I70. Easy to locate. Nice, clean comfortable room. Quiet. Staff was great. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Would definitely stay here again. Lots of local dining options.
We were driving through and the weather bogged us down. Really good price and the beds were really comfortable. Staff was hospitable and willing to help with any questions. Room was quiet and did not here train at all. I would stay again if I was in the area.
Just like others have said, this is a great hotel for the price. The train didn't bother us as we were at the front of the hotel, but even when we stayed at the back another time, we did not think the train was a bad thing. Staff all very nice, including housekeeping staff--they seemed well trained in customer service. The fact that they allow dogs was icing on the cake. We would go out of our way to stay here next time we are on a cross country road trip.
We were visiting Richmond Indiana for a 50th high school reunion. As a Best Western Reward member, we selected this hotel and were not disappointed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. We did not eat the breakfast that was offered so I am not able to comment on that. The price was right and we were not disappointed. Would highly recommend this hotel.....a/k/a "The Travel Whisperer"
We have stayed in this hotel 3 times now and will be back again and again. Rooms are clean and very spacious, breakfast is good, and staff is very friendly. We stay for business everytime we come to Indiana.
Comfortable. Clean, Nice person at front desk. :) Best Western front desk called to make sure everything was ok Good breakfast choices It was a little priceier than we like to pay, but the stay was nice
The hotel was good for a short stay and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was provided which is always nice. The negative would be that the cleaning was sporadic. The bathroom had long black hairs in the bathtub, on the floor, and in between the sheets which was a little gross.
We came to Best Western as we travelled to and from St Louis on vacation this holiday season. We did not have reservations and had no problem coming or going, in getting a room. The staff is great, the room was clean (always my main concern), and the room had everything we needed to feel at home. Other than updating the room and bath, which was fine as is, there is nothing negative to report. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone travelling.
We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions, and have always found the staff friendly and accommodating. We find the cleanliness to be well above the standard we see at other hotels. There isn't anything I can complain about. We had a very clean, comfortable room, and the staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant.
Great hotel for my daughter and myself. made our short trip more relaxing and comfortable the breakfast was a great way to start the day. plenty of choices all and all it was a relaxing experience plenty of choices around the hotel the night before for dinner al close an easy to get to
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and property were clean. Everything worked. I especially appreciated the attention to detail. Also, this was a dog friendly property which really was dog friendly. Overall, this was an excellent value
Good location except for some trains that would come by during the late evening...breakfast was pretty good. and of course it was no additional charge to my stay. I didn't have a change to use the pool, but the last Best Western I stayed in Brooklyn Center, MN had the best whirlpool I've ever been in!
Everything was fine, except the fact that as an european i am not used in having breakfast from foam cups, paper plates an plastic fork knife and spoon. In Europe we prefer porcelain, glas and metal. Even in low-priced hotels. Hospitality and service were perfect.
Pleasant stay at the Richmond, In Best Western. Good food for breakfast, quiet room, and helpful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel. At check-in, I asked for a room closer to the front lobby area and I was accommodated, no questions asked.
Overall good property and the bonus was pet friendly. We were moving and traveling to our new home with our cat and the staff at the hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient to the Interstate highway and made the stop over convenient. The complimentary breakfast was very good.
Very friendly staff; was greeted by every employee we passed....was very welcoming, room was clean and comfortable, close to many restaurants and the interstate. Great place overall especially if you don't like the hustle and bustle of the larger hotels
I Feel that the Richmond,IN Best western Hotel Is A great place to stay and the staff is friendly and helpful and would suggest hotel to anybody. The rooms are clean and well kept and the hotel is easy access to an interstate
Conveniently located to I-70. The hotel also is relatively close to dining and shopping. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff is always smiling and cheerful. The continental breakfast has something for everyone.
we had no reservation. Stopped here and we were greeted by a very helpful employee who got us a room. We were very pleased with our last minute stop. We would recommend this hotel to anybody. It was also pet friendly.
We visited for the Earlham College Homecoming and found this motel to have reasonable rates, especially compared to surrounding hotels. The location was very convenient - right off I-70 and close to restaurants, with an easy 10-minute drive to western parts of Richmond (i.e. Earldom College). All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the beds were great.
My friend and I drove from Philadelphia to Las Vegas, spending our 1st night at this location. It is right off the freeway, with some good dining locations within walking distance, such as Steak & Shake, and a White Castle, located inside the gas station next door. The entire staff were courteous and friendly whenever we encountered them. Breakfast was standard, but well kept and fresh. Coffee was excellent. If I ever plan on another cross country tour, I'll make it a point to stop at this Best Western again.
For anyone needing a hotel night in the Richmond, Indiana area, this is a good choice. This was a clean hotel. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. The prices was fair and I would recommend it.
Such a cozy little Hotel. Felt very much at Home. The Employees were all so Kind and Friendly, not to mention very Outgoing. Hotel was Clean and Comfortable. Room was very spacious. Could use some updates but overall very genuine. Conveniently located to many Restaurants. Breakfast was great! I loved the "Create Your Own" Waffle Station!! I would say this Hotel is a hidden Gem for sure.
Staff was pleasant, rooms were clean, breakfast OK. Very active train track within a few feet of facility. You have to be a very VERY sound sleeper. Lobby was dark and could have used better lighting and an update. Did not use other services offered.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. They placed us at the end of the hall on the ground level in one of the rooms that they fill last with non-pet travelers and first with those traveling with pets. The convenience of being next to the door to take the dogs out when needed was very nice. The carpet in the room was a bit more worn than rooms you without pets, as should be expected in a pet-designated room. Everything was in good repair and worked properly and the beds were comfortable. We slept well.
This hotel is right off the interstate, you can see it from the interstate and it is very close to the Ohio state line. There are gas stations and restaurants close. We arrived at this hotel very late so check in was a breeze (it might have been anyway) and a couple minutes later we were off. The beds were comfortable, the room was large with a couch, desk, coffee table, dresser and king size bed. The shower was nice, I have long hair so I worry about water pressure but it was perfect. I noticed the pool, it looked very clean but I did not get in it. We were up early the next morning to get on the road but we didn't hear anyone all night, no noise or anything. We checked right out and were on our way.
This was the 3 rd night of a 3 night get away and by far the best hotel for the price and quality. This was recommended by another hotel I tried to book but was full. I'm glad because this was a much better price and the quality couldn't have been better. Bed was very comfortable, room was a good size. Shower was good.food was good. I would definitely stay here again!
Would recommend this motel. Had a nice room with refrig. All nice and clean. Plenty of room. Hallways were clean and attractive. Ck. in was easy with nice greetings. Breakfast was good also. Ice machine was clean and handy.
We have stayed here before and have been pleased with our experience. However, the A/C unit in the room we were given was so noisy. It was a noise between a prop plane and a railroad engine. The high the fan speed the noisier it was. Our room was changed without question to the room right beside. They must have rented that room to someone else because we could hear when they turned the A/C on and it kept us awake. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The beds were just okay. The entire complex was very clean and the staff helpful. The breakfast was your typical motel breakfast.
Everything was very good especially the breakfast, which included bacon & eggs, fresh fruit and many other wonderful items. The room was quite large and quiet. We were on the third floor and were very glad they had an elevator and luggage cart. Wifi worked well.
The hotel for the most part was a good stay. The location to the interstate for us made it easy to find. The girl that checked us in was very nice and informative. The man the next morning was not very business like and did not continue conversations. The breakfast was so so. We both liked the pork gravy and it was cold when we got some. The eggs were in a square and very rubbery. The bed was uncomfortable. Everytime my husband would move it would bounce me around. We both had a bad nights sleep.
Very nice hotel convenient to I70. I was traveling with 2 small dogs and this hotel advertised being pet friendly so that got my attention. They even had pet treats at the front desk. There was a 10 dollar per pet charge. The nice thing was even though there were pets allowed, the hotel was void of any smells or any messes associate with that. Room was spotless and up to date with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good with the usual eggs and sausage, yogurt, fruits and waffles. Also clean and we'll kept. They did have a pool but I did not use it. WiFi was easy to access and quick. There is a train track adjacent to the property but I was on the opposite side in the building and it was not noticeable in the room so something to think about if staying there. It did go through once as I was unloading my car. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.
Pretty nice hotel. Right off I-70. Convenient to a plethora of food establishments. Check in slower than we were used to. Beware the slippery bathtub as this hotel has soft water. Nice breakfast. Would stay here again if we come this way.
Have used this Inn many times and have never been disappointed. great place to stay near Richmond, Indiana. Friendly staff, and a good hot breakfast with a clean room with everything in good working order. Best to book ahead as it seems to have a lot of customers.
