Arrived at the Quito Airport and our ride was there within minutes. It is a bit of a drive with a lot of speed bumps once you are in Puembo. Security guard greeted us. Check-in was smooth and quick. We had help getting to our room with our luggage. Room is a little small, but comfortable enough. The pool and garden area is just like the photos; so beautiful and relaxing. Hot tub was too hot, but a worker said to give him 5 minutes. In 5 minutes it was perfect. That worker seemed to always be around and checking that we were happy. Restaurant by pool was open on the weekend, so we did have a drink in the garden. There was a wedding on a Tuesday, but it was not too loud or an issue. We ate a the restaurant on site for the free breakfasts and several suppers. Very good food and selection. The hotel was a bit out of the way from Quito, but we were able to get rides easy enough and some of the tours will pick you up at this hotel. All the staff was helpful and friendly. We did not have the best of luck with the WiFi in our room, but it was good in the lobby and restaurant. There is a park square and some businesses about 3-4 blocks away, but we were gone during the day and did not venture out at night. The staff will help with taxi or uber services if needed. Really nice hotel, grounds and staff. Would recommend as long as you understand where it is.
We stayed several nights during our multi-week visit to Ecuador. This hotel is a very good choice for reasonably close to the airport (~ 25 mins). The shuttle and driver were always there and very polite/professional. The hotel is spacious, updated and very comfortable. Food in the restaurant is quite good, serving staff have to run back and forth between the check in desk and restaurant for paying your bill (cash or credit card). The breakfast buffet is better than expected, juices/coffees/eggs/cheeses/fruit etc.
This was a very calming environment after staying downtown in Quito. The staff were very pleasant but weren't able to understand English very well-but we survived! We ate in the small cafe by the pool and had great service and food. Our room had a nice balcony overlooking a courtyard with plants and fountains. Breakfast was great and again, the servers were awesome. They were readying for the weekend brunch that they have once/month so they were very busy that morning. We wish we had been there longer as we were interested in walking to the town square, just a few blocks away but didn't have enough time.
We stayed here on our first night prior to going on to Galapagos. It was a relaxing treat- the grounds are gorgeous. It would have been nice to stay another night and enjoy the pool and property more. The room was very large with the big bed on the lower level and 3 smaller beds upstairs- 2 showers which were clean and hot. Breakfast was good. There is a free airport shuttle to/from the hotel as well. It is far from downtown though, so for sightseeing expect to have to take a long cab ride. Going downtown was easy and cost $13 but getting a cab to want to drive all the way out to take us back was harder. A restaurant called us a cab but it turned out to be the owner and he charged us $30, so I wouldn't let it deter you from staying here, just arrange your return cab in advance if you go downtown to sightsee.
Great stay in clean comfortable rooms. Grounds are amazing and food in the restaurant was great! Pool area looked nice and staff were friendly. Wifi worked great. Location is not the best for quito not much within walking distance. Had a great stay and would recommend the hotel overall. Need to fix Location on Google Maps as it is not accurate. Used the restaurant to help taxi navigate to proper location.
This property is beautiful. There are plenty of amenities to keep you entertained. The staff was wonderful and looked after every need. We had a couple disappointments. But, and in all, a terrific value for the money. The rooms were beautiful and well appointed. I loved that the architect and design of the rooms as well represented Equador and was not a new modern build. There were some beautiful areas for pictures. The area around the resort was not so pretty, but we came for a wedding at the Polo Club and that was breathtaking in every way. The food was very good in the restaurant located on property. The staff and service was terrific, we enjoyed them very much. A couple disappointments were that the pool was too cold for me, the spa had been set on scalding two days. When our group approached a gentleman working close by, he turned the heat off and then we enjoyed it. From the pictures on the website, it looked as if there was a spa within the pool. However it was not separated from the pool, so the water was just as cold. That was our only not happy about things.
Quiet lodge. We ate dinner in the cafe next to the pool. Breakfast was great in a larger dining room. Room was very nice and had great toiletries-soft on our hair & bodies. Nice place to just walk around inside the gate. Llamas and some vendors inside also. No music the night we were there but it was a week night so not sure if there is on the weekend.
This Spa hotel is perfect for a transition day. It has free shuttle, a garden, pool, hot tub, steam room , sauna, reataurant, bar and pool table! Well located between airport and downtown Quito in peaceful safe area. Front guards at all times and great staff at front desk, bar and restaurant!
Our last night in Ecuador was in the Hotel Rincon de Puembo. Puembo is the name of the town closer to the airport than Quito is. We were amazed at the beauty of this property. It is literally a garden paradise, tucked behind low walls, separating this resort from the rest of the town. The staff is top-notch. Very professional, but very accommodating and helpful. We had just finished a very active trip in the Galapagos, and this hotel was perfect to wind down to get ready for our flight home. They also provide a shuttle to the airport, which was very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to stay in the vicinity of the Quito airport. Stay an extra night, to take advantage of the peace and quite of this little paradise.
I would stay here again. The staff were very helpful, the food delicious and affordable. We enjoyed the heated pool, sauna, steam room and eating by the pool. The hotel grounds are very beautiful and the hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport.
This is a hidden gem in an Oasis setting My wife and I stayed here before our flight back home and it was a total surprise how quaint and beautiful everything was at the hotel The staff could not have been any more friendly or helpful at all We felt welcomed and safe
We used the hotel as a one night stopover before connecting from Quito to Coca for a jungle safari. Our tour operator had arranged a taxi from the airport (c. 20mins), they offered a taxi to the airport the next day with a 'box breakfast' (juice, apple, sandwich & mini muffin) along with self serve tea and coffee that we ate in a lobby/lounge before the taxi arrived which was great. It's a lovely spot; green gardens, hummingbirds amoungst others fly around, heated pool, friendly staff, spotlessly clean. There are x2 restaurants but only the more formal looking one was open seemingly at the time; scampi and chips and fajitas were fine. Portions were BIG! Our room was one floor up via lift. Great for quiet as no one was above us but near the entrance door to that level so suitcases on tiled floors a bit noisy. Views were great. No aircon but got cool at night. Room was spacious, had everything you need inc. toiletries, bottled water & hairdryer so there was barely need to unpack which was ideal for us. We liked the traditional feel of the room. The surrounding area feels a bit run-down but there was no need to leave the hotel and we felt perfectly safe. We'd recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and wished we could have stayed another night. The grounds and buildings are stunningly beautiful, the breakfast was great and we had a fantastic sleep. The hot water was abundant with great water pressure and the room temperature was perfect.
Selected this hotel due to its proximity to the Quito airport and couldn't have been more pleased. Its location is very far from the city and as best we could tell, not near anything, but we didn't intend to do anything other than rest up for a bit. It was the perfect location for that! Absolutely gorgeous facility, clean, spacious, lovely amenities. Very pleasant and accommodating staff. Excellent accommodations at a very affordable price.
We stayed here on an overnight before our flight back to the UK. It was a great decision. The hacienda is beautiful with lovely lush gardens and a heated swimming pool. The whole place was so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed also a good meal for dinner and breakfast. A shuttle service collected us from Quito and took us back feeling refreshed the following day.
The lovely setting, manicured lawns and multiple, colorful flower beds, private sitting areas, gorgeous pool and bar area, playground field, and unique layout of the rooms are worth raving about. But it was the incredible customer service, helpful employees at every level who go above and beyond, that sets this gem even further above the other hotels we have enjoyed over our 50+ years of traveling.
Excellent hotel! Very cute and small. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. There is a huge attention to detail. This isn't like one of the huge chain hotels in the US. This one is quite pretty and has an outdoorsy energy. The restaurants on site make amazing food as well.
It's somewhat a secluded hotel about 20 min from Quito airport. It's in the village of Puembo, local eateries are within walking distances. It has a resort feel, complete with pool, bars and restaurant. The bedroom was spacious, very clean with comfortable bed. WiFi was very reliable. Breakfast included, boxed for those with early morning flights. Shuttle from/to UIO included. The staff are very very friendly. Very reasonably priced.
I was quarantined here due to covid. The staff were very kind, accommodating, some of the meals were just amazing, Made testing arrangements for me. Best food in eight days in Ecuador, there was a wedding for a few hours while I was there, didn't bother me, but when people want to have their reception there…. Didn't stay there by choice, but I'm very glad I did. It's exactly what you want, quiet, charming, safe….
The rooms were spacious and bedding comfortable. Missing a face washcloth. Noisy on weekends but quiet by 10ish, Food was good, recommend the fajitas. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Did not have laundry info in room but called and got laundry done
My husband and I stayed here two days prior to our Galapagos cruise, and loved it! Jose and Natalia are wonderful hosts, as well as their whole staff...we were very well taken care of! The Hotel is close to the airport, very convenient after a long day of travel! The grounds are beautiful, the food and drinks were delicious...and a very clean property!
The hotel is a handsome hacienda-style compound about a 20-minute cab ride from the airport. The hotel is laid out in a series of lovely courtyards with beautiful tiled floors, ceiling murals and an inviting pool and bar area. Our kids loved playing foosball and pool in the games area, and there's a big yard adjacent to the swimming pool for kids to run around in. In comparison to the highly decorated public areas, the rooms are minimalist, but comfortable and clean. The service was great; these were very friendly people who treated a tired traveling family very well. The price was quite reasonable.
Following a memorable trip to Ecuador and Galapagos, my wife had the misfortune of being quarantined in Ecuador for 10 days, in Quito. Luckily, she also had the good fortune to be quarantined at the Hosteria Rincon de Puembo during that time. Let me begin by thanking General Manage Jose Louis Granga and his staff at Hosteria Rincon de Puembo in Quito, Ecuador for their amazing efforts to assist her at a time when she was confined for more than a week in their hotel with Covid. Their gracious hospitality, combined with their vigilance in order to protect both her and the other guests in the hotel was amazing. This, in spite of the challenges of having a quarantined guest. Not only did they care for her, they also took care to protect their other guests as well. Hosteria Rincon de Puembo is a lovely oasis, with peaceful gardens and a lovely swimming pool (which sadly she couldn't take advantage of) combined with great food, that made a difficult time with a Covid quarantine much more pleasant. And Jose Louis epitomizes the best of a Hosteria Director. She was quarantined for 10 days this past January and Jose was her lifeline, both in providing the room and meal service, which was superb, as well as helping to arrange and provide medical service and travel assistance. He and his staff did everything to make a bad situation better for her. Jose arranged for a doctor, helped fill prescriptions and kept in contact on a daily basis either in person or by text. He advised her when to make flight arrangements and organized transportation to the airport, always with kindness and a smile. His staff and chef prepared great meals and excellent service, brought right to her room. If I can recommend a vacation hotel while visiting Quito, Ecuador, it would be Hosteria Rincon de Puembo. My family and I hope to return to Quito in the future and stay again at Hosteria Rincon de Puembo. Many Thanks Jose and staff.
We stayed on our first and last nights in Ecuador, as this had an easy shuttle to the airport. The staff was focused on meeting our needs, and they were friendly to chat with. The property has beautiful gardens with comfortable outdoor lounging areas. There are foosball and pool tables. We didn't use the pool due to timing, but it was quite inviting. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had a charming view of the surrounding area. The restaurant has beautiful hand-painted murals on the ceiling. The food was delicious, and they accommodated for my vegetarian diet. My son and I went for an evening stroll around the nearby town square, and it just added to the charm of this place. We loved it!
This hotel was chosen for us as part of a Birding Tour Package for the last night of our tour probably because of the proximity to the airport but also because it was exquisite. It was so outrageously beautiful we stayed for two extra nights on our own. The staff was professional and gracious to the max. When I told them it was my birthday, they went over the top and when we arrived in the dining room, it was decorated with balloons, flowers and strings of HAPPY BIRTHDAY messages. They made a special birthday cake too. Our room was amazing. It felt like a townhouse and was super clean. Because of COVID, we had the hot tub/jacuzzi to ourselves. The gardens were well cared for and the birds loved them, too. I had a fabulous massage in my room that the front desk arranged for me. A+++
While this hotel seemed highly rated my experience was the opposite. The trash can in the room was broken and the lid would not operate (important when you need to put toilet paper in trash can). They did not give us our wake-up call. We had requested coffee with the breakfast to go which they assured us was no problem. When we received it - no coffee nor would they make any. The food from the restaurant was over cooked and too tough to eat and the boxed breakfast was a thin ham and cheese sandwich. I would not recommend this motel and definitely stay away from the restaurant. The only good thing was the clean rooms.
place was deserted due to covid, so some facilities unavailable. Spectacular grounds and very nice rooms, clean and quiet. dining menu limited, and expensive as far as Ecuador goes. food was good, service good, but can take time to find a server the only issue I had in my 3 days there was billing every line item is subject to 10% gratuity plus the VAT a cup of tea one afternoon was $2.60 plus gratuity and VAT ridiculous $27 for a single load of laundry, plus gratuity and VAT - get real listed rate of $84/day for 3 days... turned into $450 breakfast was included, had 3 dinners and a few drinks and one very expensive cup of tea obviously they were attempting to have me cover the cost of the entire staff as I was the only guest there didn't know they were going to charge me the gratuity on everything so I had tipped the servers in cash, and then paid it again at checkout unfortunate, as other wise the place is stunning but the gringo-gouging is tiresome
This is a beautiful hotel with lots of charm and character. Very clean, safe, and welcoming. The restaurant was also great! Accomodations were large and bath products were good quality. We used this as a stop between Galapagos, Amazon and Cloud Forest, as it was reasonably close to the airport, and not in the traffic of Quito. I would highly suggest this over a chain hotel as it was much more unique and special!
The hotel staff is very responsive and picked us up from the airport. The decor and cleanliness was exceptional. Everyone was friendly, there was a sauna steam room and an incredible dinner. They even scheduled a massage for me. We loved this one night stay
Close to the airport, but not noisy. We are relaxing for a day between two Road Scholar trips. The courtyard gardens here are beautiful. Our room, #104A, is well furnished. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Eduardo. Delicious food is available on site. There's a fitness room, sauna, steam room and large pool. Walked around a bit and admired the architecture and meeting rooms. The neighborhood is pretty much walled residential, walked to buy batteries in a small store, heard children's voices (schools) in two areas.
The entire staff at this hotel was very welcoming and worked to make our stay comfortable. We were greeted inside the airport at midnight by the shuttle driver who took us to the hotel. We were greeted with a delicious fresh fruit welcome drink. The landscaping was beautiful and our room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was clean and well decorated and the food was fresh and had a good variety.
All the staff I spoke with were helpful, friendly. The Hotel is small but beautiful, the pool was warm, also they had a Jacuzzi and wet areas and it was included in the price. Shopping mall is only 20 minutes.
This hotel is situated maybe 20mins away from the airport. That counts as nearby in Quito. Useful for early flights, or late arrivals! It is constructed in an interesting Spanish style around a series of courtyards, some covered, some open. Some of the open squares are filled with lovely, colourful planting. Rooms are located around the resulting walkways. Rooms are generous and simply, but pleasantly, appointed. No coffee making facilities, nor is coffee freely available. There is an outdoor pool, but we didnt get a chance to try it. The local neighbourhood did not entice us at all The dinner menu is interesting with plenty of local dishes but international cuisine for those who prefer it. The breakfast buffet was quite small but provided enough choice for most people. The waiting service was effective and friendly-enough; the reception was excellent. Loved the welcome fruit juice: so appreciated
We had a late arrival into Quito with an early departure the next morning. The shuttle driver was waiting for us and got us to the hotel quickly and was ready to take us back the next morning. The hotel was able to store our luggage, including bikes, for a week while we went to the Galapagos. We were not there very long, but the grounds were beautiful. We did not get to experience the pool or restaurant, but did get to have the buffet breakfast which was very good. Super friendly staff and free wifi.
Having an early morning flight an overnight stay at this hotel was very convenient as it is only 15 minutes from the airport by its free shuttle service. Rooms are comfortable, the restaurant is good, and a swimming pool is available. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
This hotel is somewhat hard to find, but it's a gem. It's decor is beautiful. Breakfast buffet was very good. I've never experienced such friendly employees. It's near Quito Airport, and they provide airport shuttle service. I arrived very ill the day before my return flight to the USA. Within 30 minutes, the hotel (specifically, Bernarda and her colleague, Carlos) arranged for a doctor to come to my room. The doctor diagnosed my 'intestinal infection' and had antibiotics, painkillers, and an electrolyte bottle in his bag. Incidentally, he warned me against the use of Imodium. I started feeling better immediately. Actually, I found all the Ecuadorians that I met during my 2-week stay in the country friendly and helpful.
We stayed at this hotel during the riots in October 2019. Here it was peaceful and calm. The hotel is a hacienda Spanish stye of building, with three storey buildings around individual courtyards, a large clean pool and beautiful gardens. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly. We had full board here and enjoyed fabulous food, with excellent service. The hotel minibus was able to take us to the airport. We even managed to see condors circling overhead. If we go back to Quito again we would stay here.
The hotel we had been booked into was in the centre of Quito, so our travel agent booked us into this hotel at the last minute. What lovely surprise! Big comfortable bed, excellent shower, etc. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel filled up quickly as other travellers arrived having been relocated. The restaurant had a good menu - even decent veggie options for my wife. The reception staff were amazingly cheerful - even those who we saw late at night when we arrived, and were still on duty early next morning when we left. Highly recommended.
This hosteleria housed us during the national strike even though they were completely full. The test of service is during a crisis. These guys passed with flying colors. I highly recommend staying here.
OMG! As much as we have traveled I have NEVER been in a more peaceful, comfortable place like it is in Hotel Rincon de Puembo. Fabricio Bruzzone (Customer Service Executive) was ALWAYS ready to answer your questions & to be of service too. Our cells were not working in Ecuador & we ran into a problem because my husband had place an order for fitted pants from a tailor in Quito, Fabricio immediately got in touch with the tailor until the pants were personally delivered (20 - 30 minutes away) - outstanding service. The owner: Jose Luis & his beautiful wife Natalia, how can I describe them....the most humble down to Earth couple. I have NEVER experience this kind of treatment - we were NOT just guest at their hotel; we were treated like family!! I was sooooo amazed at the details through out the hotel & complemented them; the fallowing day they gifted us by calling a good friend of them (Mr. Juan Carlos - owner of the 'Tree house') to give us a personal tour of his house OMG EVERY minor little detail in his house was hand made by him (Mr. Juan Carlos) - what an ARTIST!! out of NOTHING (to us regular people) he makes the most exquisite pieces of art.. I can't say enough about Rincon de Puembo - you TRULY have to experience it for yourself. I personally have NEVER recommended something so highly as I'm doing with Rincon de Puembo - if you are in GREAT need of a place to just relax, re-find yourself, energize, trust in human kind again; this is the place you NEED to visit :)
We were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing to end our vacation. This was THE PLACE. The room was beautiful as were the grounds and the other buildings. The staff went above and beyond in making our stay memorable. And the FOOD.....OMG.....the FOOD. Amazing!! From the presentation to the service.....all first class. Exploring Puembo was nice too.....cute little park square and the church bells ringing.
Great service but cocktails aren't as great as you would get in other parts of Quito, food and service is excellent, pool is warm, I recommend this place because is quiet and installations are as the best hotels you would get in the United States
If you're looking for a quiet, well-maintained hotel near Quito, this is it! Grounds are beautiful, and the decor is traditional. The staff is very helpful, and the front desk people speak English. We will return whenever we can!
This is a wonderful resort with great food and beautiful views. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The manager and most of the staff speak English. They even had ironing boards and irons in the rooms.
We got married at the Rincon de Puembo, since it was a destination wedding we had family coming from abroad. Everything was absolutely wonderful. I will start with our stay, the highlight of our stay was the staff that went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs. The rooms were very comfortable and the food was delicious. The resort itself is very well kept and beautiful. The colonial architecture and the gardens were attractions in themselves. Our wedding was a dream come true. A very special thank you to Lenin Cañar for his professionalism, he made us feel very comfortable and confident that everything was taken care of, also thank you to Andres for his attention to detail and kindness. Our entire experience exceeded our expectations Muchas gracias a todo el personal del Rincon de Puembo por permitir que nuestros invitados se sientan como en casa y sobre todo por su dedicación y profesionalismo. Les quedamos inmensamente agradecidos, nuestra estadía y nuestra boda superaron nuestras expectativas.
Stayed here on our return from the Galapagos, and wish we could stay longer than overnight! A beautiful hacienda, lovely gardens, pool and spa area, great meal by the pool and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Next time we are in Quito we will plan to make this fabulous, restful spot our base, and travel to see the sights from here. So much more restful than the metropolitan area!
this was a beautiful hotel. staff was very friendly. just know there was no air-condition, food was good. makes for beautiful wedding. free water. they could not be nicer! The pool area was wonderful. great stay
We stayed here one night when we arrived in Quito and again the night before our departure. Very efficient and comfortable airport transit was provided. It is a an adorable hotel with several buildings connecting. The original part was once a weekend home for the owners and now encompasses the restaurant, reception area and pool areas. Additional rooms and facilities have been added over time creating a unique space. Rooms are quaint, clean and comfortable with good water pressure. We didn't use the spa like services including massage, sauna, Turkish bath but they looked clean and inviting. Bernarda at reception during both of our stays was very warm and welcoming. She is fluent in English but happily let me practice my Spanish on her :) There are two restaurants, one is more of a casual cafe near the pool. The other provides a larger menu and greater level of service. The food was really good and the wine list was as well. Though I didn't recognize most of the wine offerings, the 4 different varieties we tried were all quite good. Service was excellent. Our first night, a Monday, the hotel was very quiet and seemed to not have many guests. It was tranquil and relaxing. Our last night we arrived back at the hotel to discover a wedding reception was being held. It was BEAUTIFUL!! They did some out door speeches and have a cocktail he with passed food and we were able to mingle with lots of great people both local and from around the world. The main party was held in a newly added facility under the hotel. So the party noise could not be heard in our room which was great. We got a tour of facility and they had done a spectacular job of decorating and making it picture perfect for the event. There were also several other function rooms available on the ground level for meetings or smaller parties. On our last night, Fabricio the restaurant manager was exceedingly helpful. We were hoping to leave very early the next morning to chance getting on an earlier flight, but we're nervous about not getting on and then having nothing to do but sit at the airport for 10 hrs. Fabricio phoned a guide / driver contact who was willing to take us around some of the great local sights including the equator if we didn't make the early flight. We couldn't commit one way or another but he assured us that he could provide us a great way to spend those hrs if we werent able to get on the flight. Fabricio provided us with his contact info and insisted we call if we didn't make the flight, even though that would have been at 6a! He also arranged for us to have a to go box breakfast waiting since we had to depart so early (Breakfast is complimentary but the restaurant would not have been open when we were leaving). The next morning, we tiredly headed to reception at 4:45a and the receptionist greeted us with a huge smile. She let us know that Fabricio has advised her of our situation. She handed us breakfast boxes, let us know our airport transit was ready and that if we didn't make the flight to simply call her and she would send the shuttle back. She also let us know that she wouldn't check us out of our room right away, in the event we didn't make the flight and wanted to return to our room to sleep. We were very impressed by the hospitality of every employee we met! There isn't much to do immediately surrounding the hotel, but if you want to be near the airport (about 20 mins), and plan to take taxis or shuttles to the great sights of Quito, it's a wonderful option. casual cafe near the pool. This is a beautful property not far from the Quito airport. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffett was very good. The staff is very helpful and professional, both with recommendations for local activities and for good restaurant recommendations. We satyed here at the beginning of our trip, getting in late to Quito, and enjoyed it so much we rebooked it for the end of our trip.
We ended up with handicap room due to the urgency of the situation, but the Rincon de Puembo staff was very accommodating. They went over and above what was required by arranging a pharmacy to deliver emergency prescriptions for medications we ran short of due to the delayed flight. The food at the restaurant was also very good too! Overall, the staff was quick to help where they could, and they really made an unfortunate situation very enjoyable.
United had to cancel our flight out due to Volcano eruption in North Ecuador. United was kind and helpful and booked us into this hotel at 3 in the morning. I was leading a group of 40 people who had spent a week in Ecuador on a Medical Mission trip. We were tired and exhausted and ready to be back in the states. Then we landed at this hotel to recover for a night before our plane went our the next night. Wow!!! My whole group was impressed at the quaint beauty and lovely accommodations. The entire front desk and all the hotel staff were very kind and helpful to us. They helped us find a pharmacy to deliver some medicines to our group since we could not get to our luggage. They kept in contact with United the entire time and updated us often on our next flight that was pushed back. They arranged a bus to take us all back to the airport at the same time. United gave vouchers for our food and they prepared us wonderful meals. We were able to all shower in the morning and right before we left that evening to go back to the airport. It was a fabulous place and I recommend them to you if you need to stay in Ecuador close to the airport.
This hotel is paradise inside! So beautiful and all the staff was so accommodating! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Quito area! The decor, the rooms, the grounds were so beautiful! They have everything you could want!
We stayed in this hotel for two nights, one whilst on our way to the Amazon basin and the second on return leg of our journey. This is an exceptional hotel with loads of character reminiscent of the Spanish colonial period. The bedrooms are huge with luxury bathrooms. The quality of toiletry is excellent and plentiful. The public areas are scattered all over and provides a sense of space. There are fountains and courtyards. The only restaurant serves an eclectic menu much liked by us. By the swimming pool is an open bar and barbecue that serves drinks and meals. We were there on a Saturday when the hotel allows a small group of children to enjoy their pool and gardens. The presence of these so very well mannered children supervised by adults added to the homely charm. Although there was no tea and coffee facilities in the room, the staff were ever so good in that they provided us with the necessary ingredients to take to our room early in the morning! We loved this hotel and would anyway prefer to stay here rather than in smart chain hotels.
Nice best western hotel in a rural town near Quito About 20 minutes from airport We stayed overnight to catch a morning flight of the Galápagos Islands Welcomed with a beverage then luggage service to a nice spacious room- clean and mostly quiet Nice grounds and gardens They offer free coffee in the restaurant which was nice We ate at the restaurant and it was very good food and service They made us coffee and had some food out in the morning at 4 am on request which was very nice! They sent someone up to get our bags also which was timely and unexpected
I stayed one night at this hotel during March 2019. I loved the decoration, style. The rooms were large, very clean. The gardens were amazing. Excellence customer service. Staff were very cordial. They provide shuttle service from Airport.
From start to finish this place was first class. We were greeted by Fabrisio at the front desk with a smile and a heartfelt welcome. We were given a welcome drink. The grounds were amazing with beautiful gardens plants and a wonderful pool area. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was amazing. When we were ready to leave they extended our check out time so that we didn't have to rush out of our room. The complimentary airport shuttle service was great and on time. We would definitely return. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay.
This was by far the best hotel we stayed in during our trip in Ecuador. Nice, clean and big room, hairdryer, tv, ... everything we needed was there. If possible, maybe request a quiet room, so not at a street side!
During a recent trip to the Ecuadorian highlands and Galapagos, we made Rincon de Puembo our home base in Quito. It's a little oasis in the city; a small labyrinth of attractive and unique buildings connected by walkways through lovely landscaping. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. They offer a shuttle to and from the airport, which is a reasonable 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. The restaurant has a variety of good food and was able to cater to my dietary restrictions. Best of all, however, the hotel staff were wonderful. Fabricio Bruzzone, the Customer Service Executive, was outstanding to deal with. He helped us with planning our Quito travels, organized a tour of downtown, and worked with us to provide the accommodation packages we needed given our crazy airline connections; all is with a positive attitude and a smile. I would recommend this establishment to anyone staying in Quito, weather for a single night or a longer vacation.
Stayed here before our flights home. Only 20 mins from airport $15 by taxi and free shuttle back. Lovely grounds, nice pool, rooms clean and spacious . Staff friendly - booked us taxi to nearby German bar - even phoned them first to check opening times. Easier and more relaxed than staying on Quito. Would recommend for chill out before a long flight home.
Although we were only staying one night as a stopover during our return to the UK, we wished we could have stayed much longer. The hotel is built around beautiful gardens, courtyards and a swimming pool which augment the tranquility and peaceful atmosphere. The staff are mutlilingual and extremely helpful and friendly. Communication was an easy matter so we didn't need to struggle with our 10 words of Spanish. The rooms are huge and airy with a lovely shower and loo in a separate area. When we enquired about getting something to eat, we were ushered into the huge restaurant where only one other couple were eating and given the full works treatment. It really was excellent. The menu had English translations which helped enormously and the food was delicious. In fact it was so good that we had lunch there the next day just before we had to leave to go to the airport. They have a shuttle bus which is also a huge boon. Thanks to all at the Rincon De Puembo for a brilliant, if rather short, stay. Well done to Natalia and the whole team.
We stayed at the Hotel Rincon while touring Quito on our way to the Galapagos Island. The airport pick up and delivery was timely and efficient. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms were large and clean. Walking around the grounds was a treat just admiring all the art work and well maintained yards. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Rincon de Puembo was a stopover from an excursion from Sacha Lodge and the Galapagos. Upon arrival the first night pickup from the airport at midnight was seamless and room was clean and quiet. The second time upon return from Sacha and enroute to Galapagos the room was not as booked. It turned out the travel agency had changed the room criteria and the hotel was sold out with only one room that would not work for the two of us. The customer experience executive Fabricio stayed with us for the entire two hour wait while the travel agency tried to sort and offered us complimentary wine, which was fantastic, had a great time chatting as he is international and lived in US. The experience didn't end there , the front desk manager Natalia personally drove us to an electronic store to pick up some needed items as we had lost time in the wait and then drove us to another hotel and ensured we were checked in. This hotel did not make the error , but provided an amazing experience and knows how to treat a customer. I will definitely come back !
We arrived at the hotel after a fabulous time in the Amazon at Sacha Lodge. To our surprise there was an error by the booking agent (not the hotel) and our room accommodation was not available (and the rincon was fully sold out). Fabricio Bruzzone, Customer Service Executive, went into high gear. He had no other room to offer us, so he worked very hard to understand our needs and come up with a solution. He was calm, focused and assertive with others to get us sorted out. He stayed with us the whole time and brought us a glass of wine, all while figuring out new arrangements for us - at a competitive hotel. He helped us even more when he realized we needed to get to a store for emergency provisions and were running out of time. Without us realizing it, he arranged with Natalia Andrade, front desk manager, to get us to the store once our room got sorted out. Natalia drove us in her own car to the mall, went into the mall with us, brought us to the store, and translated to help us get what we needed. Then she drove us to the new hotel, came to the front desk and helped us to get checked in. Later on in the evening, Fabricio contacted us to make sure we had the proper transfer to the airport for our early morning flight. Final act - he upgraded us on our next stay. This team goes out of their way to look after customers. Thank you so much. Best experience ever!
Spent one night here before flying back to UK on an overnight flight. Great place to relax with a nice pool and other facilities. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Beautiful building very well maintained. Breakfast and lunch very good. The trip to the hotel a little disconcerting as you are off the main road, but well worth it. This is a far better option if you want a lazy day than travelling into Quito and much nicer than staying at the airport. This is just 20 minutes from the airport and the hotel has its own shuttle bus. The manager made a point of finding us and asking if everything OK - it was.
We had dinner and an early take-with breakfast here with our group. The dinner was great and the dining room has lovely alcove ceilings with murals painted inside. The entire hotel is very traditional and beautifully appointed. Lots of little areas with pools and flowers. Comfortable rooms. Great staff. Very helpful. My only caveat is the area. There didn't seem to be much to walk to from the property, though taxis are not expensive.
My visit to Quito was short as I was on my way to Cuenca. I could not have been happier with my accomdations. The hotel is immaculate with beautifully landscaped grounds and refreshing pool. The hotel employees could not have been more pleasant and helpful. My flight arrived after midnight and the shuttle driver was there to greet me. It is true the hotel is a bit of a ride to Quito but after spending the day touring the Historic district and the hustle and bustle of Quitor I was grateful for the peace and quiet of Puembo. Breakfast is more than adequate and I had a delicious dinner in the restaurant. The neighborhood is very quiet at night. If your looking for nightlife this is not the place for you. My stay here was wonderful and I can whole heartedly recommend Rincon de Puembo.
My stay at this lovely oasis was on the tailend of a trip to the Galapagos Islands. My biggest regret: NOT being able to stay longer to enjoy all this hotel had to offer! The rooms were luxuriant and spacious. The restaurant served our group a delightful, delicious meal. The fast internet was especially appreciated as we had been "unpluged" for more than a week. I cannot say enough about how calming, gracious, comfortable, amazing hotel. There is a reason this hotel has the BW Signature Collection status. Next time I am in the area, I will plan to stay several days to fully enjoy its many amenities.
Not much around it but the hotel itself was great for a stay between flights. Complimentary airport transfer too. We were a family of 3 so chose the two bedroom town house - huge double bed on the mezanine and 4 single beds downstairs - so would be a good choice for a larger group. Food in restaurant fine although breakfast was fairly basic. Pool side and garden lovely for a relax before or after a flight. Very helpful staff.
On the map it looks like its next to the airport but to get to it you have to go quite a long way south and then back north. You could nearly walk to the airport!! Anyway once we arrived we were welcomed and helped with our bags. The hotel looks a little dated. Our room was on the second floor and was spacious but the view was the courtyard between the rooms so nothing special to look at. The hotel is in Puembo so I don't really think you could get a view. Puembo doesn't look too interesting and is certainly not the place to walk around at night (I imagined). Anyway the room was comfortable and I considered it good value but I think next time I will stay at the hotel just outside the airport terminal.
Ok, at some point in time I'm quite sure this was an amazing hotel. That day has passed. Our agent booked this hotel for our overnight stay on our way to and from the Galapagos. Supposedly close the the airport, but it's a good 20+ minute drive and in a questionable neighborhood. Our group of 6 had two meals on separate days in the hotel restaurant. The food was improperly cooked both times and 4 of the 6 dishes were almost inedible. Over cooked fish, undercooked burgers... After a bad dinner I lay in bed writing this review waiting for my 4:45 am departure to the airport for our flight home, unfortunately I can't sleep due to extremely loud music which the hotel says is beyond their control. I get the feeling this is a regular occurrence. So if you have to overnight awaiting a flight out of the Quito airport and like a long drive after a poor meal and no sleep, the Rincon is for you. Only good news, rooms are clean and bed is comfortable...
recent stay in November. bought rolled prints, difficult to transport. customer service executive Fabricio Bruzzone took charge--kept prints for a week during our further travel, found a protective mailer tube and personally delivered the prints to us at a different hotel in downtown Quito. many thanks
This lovely hotel constructed to resemble a traditional hacienda but with modern conveniences. The staff was hospitable and attentive. The rooms were a good size and comfortable. The property included a heated pool, gym, sauna, hot tub, and gardens. The restaurant was excellent and well priced. The WiFi was strong enough to satisfy even the most critical teenage girl . The staff provided us with a fresh breakfast at 5:00 AM when they realized we had an early flight. The neighborhood did not have a lot to do but we were engaged in so many tour activities, the location was perfect for accessing Quito, the airport and our other tours it did not matter. I just wish we got to stay one more day and just enjoy the hotel and relax. Perfect location for a wedding, romantic get away, or maybe an anniversary trip . In the interest of full disclosure I am sending this to my husband in hopes he will take me back without the kids,
I went together with my boyfriend to Puembo for a wedding of a friend. This was one of the hotel that was recommended by my Ecuadorian friend.. hearing about the other hotel having terrible service we were even more happy we chose this one. The hotel is beautiful, has a nice pool and free parking in case you have a rental car it's safe on the property. But the thing that made this hotel even better is the good service. Any questions, anything you need they will help you and you won't have to wait, they will help you straight away. Doesn't matter if you were talking to the housekeeping lady, the technician, lady at the reception or the guys in then restaurant all very kind and helpful. So I would definitely recommend this hotel, number 1 for your stay in Puembo!
Location in Puembo; not much happening there. However, able to order taxi to take you to other towns for good food and more lively scene. Especially liked town of Cumbaya for good restaurants, mainly near main square. Hotel grounds beautiful, staff very friendly and accommodating. Rooms large but limited number of outlets.
I don't know exactly how to describe it but the property is very nice (although in a run-down place as Puembo). The hotel was almost deserted when we were visiting August 13). We were really looking forward to our stay here (because our daughter and myself love to swim and we were ready for some time to relax after the jungle in Peru and the hiking we had done around Quilotoa and Cotopaxi ). When we arrived we read that we were obliged to use a swimming cap and when I ask the reception desk if they had them they charged us around $12 (which we felt was a total scam) for two swimming caps and especially when we we swimming and saw that the rest of the people using the pool didn't use them and nobody said anything. The pool was nice (not heated as advertised) and the garden surrouding it it beautiful, but there are only 6 sunning beds and these were taken). When we arrived the staff wase very friendly (as expected with a BW hotel) but at night and the next morrning they were not friendly at all (even rude). The restaurant looks nice but the staff is very slow and although there were only 6 people there it took forever to order and to get our drinks and food. We speak Spanish so that was not the problem... It was also the most expensive food we had during our trip to Peru and Ecuador. They offer free rides to the airport and ask you what time you want to leave...but when we told them we wanted to leave at 8.30AM we were told that that was nog possible and we had to leave at 8. We don;t know why because we were the only ones in the cab. I really dont understand why all these people rate this hotel so high because for us it felt like a disappointment.
Hotel is beautiful—nice facilities but you're kind of trapped there. Food is mediocre—had sirloin for dinner which was over cooked and dry. Breakfast is included but nothing special plus waiter was not having a very good day. Paid $15 for a margarita—going rate at most upscale Quito hotels is half that. However, accommodations are very comfortable and spacious. Beautiful pool and grounds. When you walk off the property you are in a dusty, poor and rural town. Best to stay in Quito or at a hotel adjacent to airport.
We spent two nights (Oct.11th & 12th) at this hotel between our stay in the Amazon and flight back home. Driving through the local town you would not expect such amazing accommodations. Once inside the gates the atmosphere and sights are breathtaking. This hotel has sprawling grounds and numerous levels of rooms. We stayed in room 102A in the La Ronda section. It is simply beautiful and looks like a quaint street. Our first room was on the street side and did seem as though it would be very loud at night. Having just spent three nights in the jungle we were in desperate need of sleep. I asked the front desk if they had something that might be quieter and they immediately showed me three other rooms and let me pick. Our final room was perfect and we slept great. I think only the rooms on the street side would be loud. Anything else should be fine. We ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel both days. The food was great as was the service. We especially enjoyed our long conversation with Fabricio on Friday night. We did not use the pool, hot tub, sauna or gym but they all looked very nice.I would certainly recommend staying here if you are looking for something outside of the city.
Excellet place to have your business meeting or evento. The best customer service and delicious food. You can enjoye a family day or a day with your friends at a very nice, country atmosphere. They have so many amenities and beatiful gardens. It is a place to come back for sure.
Wonderful facility only exceeded by the service and cheerful staff. Dinners were excellent and breakfast buffet was very nice. Great stay and highly recommend it. Fabrezio was fabulous. A wonderful host.
We stayed at this hotel twice during a recent trip to Ecuador. There were 9 in our group of photographers. The rooms are clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The hotel staff is excellent. Since we started early every morning, we requested coffee and a light snack very early in the morning. The staff accommodated our requests without hesitation. Fabricio, the Customer Services Manager, is an excellent host. He was attentive to our needs and made sure that our stay was comfortable. It is convenient to the airport and several good restaurants. I would stay at this hotel again.
Not only was the hotel, rooms and common areas beautiful, clean and safe, the service of the personnel exceeded our expectations. When we needed special services, their Customer Service Executive, Fabricio Bruzzone, handled them with aplomb! Our group of nine highly recommend the Hotel Rincon de Puembo!
We recently finished up an incredible three week trip to Ecuador with a stay at Puembo. We arrived from the Galapagos Islands in the evening, and were not flying until the next afternoon. So, we did not need to be at a hotel right near the airport (if you need that, we stayed at the Wyndham prior to an early flight to the Galapagos, and that place is a little pricey, but excellent). We also wanted to see a different part of the Quito area as we had already visited the main attractions in the city. The Rincon de Puembo is a nice hotel. It is part of the Best Western chain, and the rooms and facilities are all very good. It has a bit of a stale vibe, as we were probably the only ones there. But, it was fine. We were picked up at the airport (of course, make sure you contact them and arrange ahead of time), and the receptionist was very friendly. Bonus was a nice fruit drink that we were offered on our arrival. In terms of the room and other facilities (sauna and spa!), we would rate this hotel as a four star. The most disappointing aspect was the restaurant. Food was cold, and I had a messy stomach for a few days after. I went three weeks with feeling healthy on every other leg of our journey. So, hope you have better luck. The area around the hotel is run down as Puembo is not your typical tourist destination. Still, we had fun walking around and seeing the small town square and the stray dogs. Our best find was in walking about 0.5 km to the west of the hotel to a smaller dirt road and path that ran north. We wanted to take a nice stroll prior to our long flight and this was great, as there were homes and gardens along the way, and loads of birds which we were interested in. In all, the Puembo does the job. It won't be the highlight of your trip to Ecuador (it really shouldn't be!), but it'll provide a decent place for a night of sleep and regrouping before the next part of your journey.
An Oasis of comfort, style and relaxation only 20 minutes from the airport. The Customer Service Manager, Fabricio, caters to Americans and immediately puts you at ease and can expertly attend to any questions about exploring the area with courtesy and professionalism. The beautiful restaurant's service and chief is first-class and the accommodations are superb with a feeling of luxury. Listen to the waterfall by the lounge or take a dip in the pool where beers, snacks or cocktails are always handy at the outdoor grill.
We stayed at this hotel for just one night on our way back to the United States after a Galapagos Island tour. It was so lovely that we wished we had arrived early enough to really enjoy all the amenities of the charming hotel. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious dinner (and reasonable) in the hotel's beautiful dining room before retiring for the night. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. They even provided a continental breakfast at 3AM so that we could get some food before we left for our early AM flight. I highly recommend Hotel Rincon de Puembo and will definitely stay there again if I return to Quito.
We have stayed here on two separate occasions have not been disappointed with either stay. The rooms are large and well appointed. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The grounds are beautiful. We are avid photographers so the beautiful grounds make our stays even that much more pleasurable. There is a restaurant within the grounds. They have one of the best club sandwiches I have eaten there. I personally recommend it. Based on our experience you would not go wrong staying here. It's fairly close to the airport about 20-30 minutes away and if you have a late flight you can get a day room and rest in the hotel until time to leave for the airport. The customer service executive Fabricio Bruzzone is one of the nicest friendliest people you will meet. He makes an enjoyable experience even better.
We stayed at this hotel after the last leg of our Galapagos tour. We also had our farewell dinner here. The hotel itself is really very lovely and a bit quirky and interesting. The rooms are comfortable, but a couple of things might give pause to anyone with mobility problems - you have to get down on your hands and knees to plug in your electronics or to use the safe. I have taken away a star for that, since I do have knee problems and it was a hassle getting down there! Other than that, we had a good night's stay here. It is close to the airport, as others have mentioned. The dinner we had there was really good, so I can recommend the restaurant for its food and ambience. All in all, if you want convenience to the airport, an interesting and eclectic hotel, and decent food, this is a good place to stay.
Chose the Rincon on advice from our tour operater and it significantly exceeded our expectations...which were pretty high already based on previous reviews. Stumbled into a pretty spectacular evening, a celebration of the hotel making a connection to the Best Western Signature chain. As some of the few touri mixed in with the local glitterati, we didn't blend well based on our Galapagos casual, but the staff was exceptionally hospitable...free food and drinks sealed the deal, but this was a one off. The room was well appointed, modern and a great bed. Beautiful pool and spa, and attentive staff. The restaurant (and party fare) was excellent and reasonably priced. The facility is a gem in architectural detail. Minor downside is this is the location...no quick trip into Quito. But if you're looking for a transition from the airport to another destination, this would be hard to beat. Added bonus was a half price day extension to allow us to stay in our room until we were ready to depart for our 2330 flight.
We stayed here on two separate nights and were happy with our choice. The hotel is relatively close to Quito airport (about 20 minutes drive) with a shuttle service. The rooms are large with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. In between our stays the hotel stored our luggage for a night which was appreciated. Dinner and breakfast were very good and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is well-landscaped with a heated pool and pleasant garden area for relaxing.
We only stayed overnight, on our way back from the Galapagos. While the hotel is beautiful and the restaurant was very nice (and not expensive), it really should not be listed as an airport hotel. I is about 25 to 30 minute drives, through small back road. For a longer, relaxing stay, it would be a perfect little oasis.
Excelent hotel not far from Quito internatinal airport but in the outskirts of Quito. Sorry our stay was for one night. Service was realy excelent. The location is far from the city center so you must have a car.
