The room and bathroom were spotless and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was hot and they had much to choose from. We only stayed one night, but if we need to revisit our customers, without a doubt we will stay at Best Western again.
Breakfast is delicious and different every morning. Staff was friendly. They set their standards high and excell at them.
We did a road trip from Texas to San Francisco that took us 10 days because we did all the sights. This hotel in a small west Texas town was one of our favorites. The front desk greets you like family, the beds were so comfy and the breakfast buffet was the absolute best. There were even fresh berries. Even our teens liked this hotel.
From the moment you walk through the rolling doors you feel a sense of grandeur. This feels like a high end hotel with a wonderful hot breakfast and fruit bar. The rooms are spacious and worth the extra drive from Carlsbad Caverns. I highly recommend this hotel.
We will always choose this motel if we're ever in Pecos again! A super place to stay if you're heading to Carlsbad Caverns the next morning! One of the best Best Westerns ever! Super staff! Super breakfast and breakfast room. Even has a car-wash bay!
The Tesla chargers was the kicker for me. Being able to wake up with a full charge eliminates the need to use the supercharger in town. The room was spacious, and there were socializing areas available. The breakfast offered was very good. I recommend!
We had reserved a "cabin," a week in advance for my family of three. I'm currently pregnant as well with a PSD(psychiatric service dog). We were told this cabin was a double queen, which you would think is plenty enough space for a single family, right? We paid in total $1300 (for a month) for a rundown, smaller than an RV master bedroom SINGLE QUEEN CABIN. It's taken OVER AN HOUR to get our refund situated, and it will not hit our bank for another 5-6 days. So if you want to be lied to, this place is the place for that. Disgusting professionalism. Disgusting practice of getting people to rent those cabins.
I would recommend anyone passing through this area to stay at this Best Western. The hotel was amazing inside and you could tell that the owner was making sure that his guests were comfortable. The staff were excellent and I can't express enough how happy we were with our stay. Highly recommend.
Last minute book to visit family in the area. Hotel was quiet at times but since it's facing the main highway it did get a bit noisy at night. It was a spacious 2 bedroom with a TV, microwave, and mini fridge that we fully utilized. We were on the second floor, and you could either use the elevator or the fancy spiral staircase. The dining room was roomy, and their breakfast buffet was great. I enjoyed the Spanish options they had available on some mornings. The Texas waffles were great as well. There are some locals dinning-in, but seating should be available. Hours may vary but one morning breakfast was open at 530am. Upon check-in, room service was inquired, and I stated at least clean 1 day of our visit. Our room did not get serviced during our stay, surprising but the front office were accomadating when needed. You can always follow-up with the front desk on which day your room would possibly get serviced. Parking may be limited especially during the weekend/holiday, but we managed to find a spot late at night. This hotel was great, we will stay again once we come back to Texas to visit.
We took a driving trip from east coast to west coast and this was one of the best motels we stayed at. The rooms were nice, and the breakfast buffet was awesome, and even had fresh fruit on it. The internet lounge was nice also. It was quiet also. Nice area.
I have to say I was so happy to find this motel in an unfamiliar part of our great nation. It restored my faith in local paces to stay along the roadways. The room was clean as can be and comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing. My friend and I were just traveling through, but this motel could've been a happy place to stay for many days.
I almost do not want to review because I want the Hotel all to myself! It really is home away from home there and the Swiss chalet theme is so wonderful and cozy! They even have a little library! I feel like good old fashioned customer service is well represented here at Swiss Chalet!
I never thought I'd say this about staying at a Best Western, but this place was amazing (especially for the price)! Everything was clean and amenities rivaled much higher end hotels (such as the LED lighted mirrors). We stayed on the 2nd floor (there are 3 floors in the main building / only 1 story if you're staying in the Cabana building). We didn't hear any noise from above us or in any of the rooms next to us, so it seems to be pretty well insulated. In the future, I think we'll keep our eyes open for the "Plus" version of the Best Western. If they're all like this, we'll be staying at them more often!
This is a great hotel to stay. The staff, rooms, decor and having a great sit down restaurant and bar in the establishment is a big plus. You have a great breakfast, including make your own tacos, fried eggs and omelets. This is not your standard cookie cutter hotel.
Rooms were very clean and bed was comfortable outside was clean and tidy. Our dog stayed and there was walking areas. The complimentary breakfast at the Alpine restaurant next door was outstanding and our server Jenny was the best. I would stay again. The dog waste bags were empty
excellent clean quiet room, helpful staff. staff suggested Del Barrio restaurant. excellent authentic food and homemade tortillas.... could not have asked for a more timely place to stay on our trip... Texas is a long way across
I traveled with my parents to Pecos and we arrived around midnight, the staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast ladies hovered over my Dad until my Mother and I made it down to breakfast. The room was clean and the location was perfect for our trip.
The hotel is beautiful the room was perfect . But in having paid for the biggest room in the hotel I expected it to be more welcoming. The staff was terrible. They made my whole family feel uncomfortable. From the pool area, to breakfast, ending with them walking into our room without knocking and violating our privacy while there was a dnd on the door. Overall this was a terrible experience and we regret choosing this hotel to stay at. I definitely do not recommend staying here.
I travel alot for work and Best Western Plus by far is the best hotel. Hot fresh breakfast accompanied by a great staff and clean rooms top notch service every time I have stayed at one of there hotels
The BW Swiss Chalet in Pecos, TX is a wonderful motel that exceeded expectations. The suite was spacious and the bed was super comfortable! The breakfast buffet was superb. Great choice of items. The biscuits were outstanding and the offer to have pancakes made was much appreciated. Even the coffee was good which is unusual for motel breakfast buffets. I would definitely stay here again If highway noise is a concern, ask for a room not facing the highway. We appreciated the little patio outside our room, and the highway noise quickly became white noise. It is a gem in the West Texas desert.
I had tried all day to reserve a room with another hotel in Pecos but was never able to do so. When we arrived in Pecos, we went directly to the first hotel to see if we could get a room, but they said their computers were down & weren't able to do anything! So….after reading reviews, etc., we decided to try the Best Western Plus! What a great surprise! The hotel was beautifully decorated & well kept! Isabel checked us in & was super welcoming!! Our room was fabulous! A big room, bed was so comfortable & sheets felt so good, AC worked well! There was a restaurant next door within walking distance that had a fantastic salad & soup bar! We enjoyed that for our dinner! Breakfast the next morning at our hotel was so good! Eggs - cooked the way you want, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, oatmeal with anything you could want with it, French toast, regular toast, bagels, waffles, pancakes, yogurt with lots of items to add, fresh fruit…..can't remember everything! But this was not your typical ‘hotel on the road complimentary breakfast!' So glad we stayed here & would definitely stay again!
Always a pleasure staying in this hotel! Best costumer service. The beds and pillows are the best I've slept in and the amenities were great from the breakfast to the pool it was just over all a great time for me in the family!
Love love love this hotel! European style attenuation, food service and customer care. Luxurious bath and bed, lovely meals. The service people were attentive, considerate and went beyond what has become an expected level of concern. The Alpine restaurant is a Texas find!! Homemade entrees, breads and PIEs!!!
What a delightful and rest stop this was on a long trip! The lobby staff was so welcoming and friendly that I already felt at home. The room was very comfortable and quiet and clean. The facilities and grounds were very well-maintained. The breakfast was diverse and very well prepared with attentive staff. I also appreciated the rewards club goodie bag and 10% coupon for the full service restaurant next door. This is my favorite stop!
My husband and I travel quite a bit and this was the best hotel/motel we've stayed in for quite a while. Good lighting, larger fridge with freezer compartment, clean, plenty of room, comfortable bed and pillows and the breakfast was amazing! There was even a table and chairs outside for our room. We ate at the restaurant on site (Friday night). They were busy, but the service was excellent, the food good and the wait was short. We would definitely stay here again!
Clean, comfortable room and common areas. Room is updated and provided so many amenities. Breakfast (complimentary) was awesome! Other Best Western motel owners need to visit here to see a motel done right! Just a note....the on site restaurant is closed on Friday and Saturday (who would have figured that?!?). There is a lot of road construction in the area, so it's difficult to navigate, especially at night. I highly recommend this motel!
This is the Best Best Western we have stayed at. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They try to make sure that you feel welcome and all your needs are met. The rooms are large and comfortable. I like a very dark room at night. Most hotels have too much light coming in the room but there is very little distracting light here. They serve a hot breakfast buffet with alot of variety and options to choose from. We travel frequently from Dallas to Los Angeles and this hotel will become one of our go to stops.
Nice motel with spacious lobby, substantial breakfast, restaurant on-site. Our suite was huge. Oddly, the desk was in the bedroom area, so our plan for one of us to work and one of us to sleep was not facilitated by having a 2-room suite.
Wonderful experience and great breakfast. I have stayed here multiple times when working in the area. This is definitely the best place to stay in the area. Comfortable, clean and fairly priced for the area.
Room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was very professional and friendly. The breakfast was hot and the quality and quality of the food was exceptional as well. Well above my expectations!!
Such attention to detail. Great customer service. I was so impressed I felt like I was staying at an upscale hotel. No paper cups and plate at this great hotel. The coffee was so good in the real cup. Did I mention the stone fireplace and how extremely clean this hotel is. I highly recommend this hotel Thank you to the owner and staff for the special hidden gem.
This hotel is more like a highly rated lodge, upon arrival i got a sense of comfort and safety not usually associated with hotels. this place is beautiful and well maintained. I could live here, will definitely come back and recomend to friends and coworkers.
The room was exceptionally clean, new, and provided everything we needed. We got the last room, which was larger than requested, but they gave us a discounted rate. (Don't wait to the day you want to stay like we did! They fill up quickly.) The room was exceptional. The breakfast was a FULL breakfast with eggs, a Mexican casserole, wonderful fruit, pancakes to order, and anything else you would want. The pool and hot tub were also clean and in a nice environment. The desk and breakfast attendants were professional and friendly. They are great at their jobs. What a nice time! It was a little higher price than I expected but that may be standard in the location. I would definitely stay, again.
The Best Hotel in Pecos Texas. My favorite Hotel to stay in. The hotel is beautiful inside. And the rooms are clean. Breakfast was Awesome. Loved it. You will not be disappointed. It's the best hotel!
This hotel is a real gem. Great Swiss decor beautiful lobby and breakfast area. The room was a very large 2 room suite. Being a rewards member really has its perks. It is also next to the city parks which we walked around.
Trust the excellent reviews! I've stayed in literally hundreds of hotels nationwide and this West Texas Gem is one of my absolute favorites. Prompt check-in, professional and kind service, immaculately clean room and facilities and a great breakfast. Seconds from a return to I-20, yet quiet. Believe the reviews and stay here!
When my hubby said we were staying at a Best Western I looked at him like he had 2 heads. A BW hotel has never been on my list of hotels to even consider. But the Booking site had recommended it and they have done a good job with suggestions. My jaw dropped when we entered the lobby. The place is absolutely beautiful. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was huge, nice and the bed/pillows were comfy (although I take my own pillow & blanket on long trips such as we were on). The bathroom was beautifully tiled. I don't know if all the rooms are like this but the bath was handicapped accessible. The only odd thing - the drain was in the bathroom floor, no stepping into the shower and there was a handheld shower head. Perfect for a wheelchair but I'm not wild about a handheld for washing my hair. It wasn't an issue however. The restaurant located between the Swiss Chalet and the BW Swiss Clock was very good. The only negatives - the blanket was a tad bit frayed and the sheet had a bluish spot on it. I would stay there again however and it has even opened my mind to considering Best Westerns on other journeys.
The hotel had a lot of truck parking, the rooms were beautiful, the check in area was gorgeous, the food was delicious, beds are comfortable, comfortable room to sit and have dinner, BUT the only downfall was that we were told that they accept CLC and later on that evening we got a phone call saying they did not. So we had to pay out of pocket. This was very upsetting.
Standard run of the mill Best Western experience. Rooms are clean, walls could be a little thicker, could hear the TV in the next room over pretty late into the night, but not loud enough to be an issue. AC works great, and that's the important thing!
I was not expecting much, but I was surprised. It was very clean and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable. Easy check in and out. Dinner was very good with the exception of the soup. It was so spicy we could not eat it.
We stay at this Best Western every time we can. It has the best breakfast layout of all hotels. One can order their eggs cooked to your preference if you want however this stay we had their Mexican casserole dish that was delicious. We had 3 grandkids with us. The room was perfect and the best value in Texas. I wish all Best Westerns were like this one.
Everything from the check in to check out was seamless. Clean and comfortable rooms and wonderful breakfast buffet. All hotel staff was very attentive and eager to help in any way. We will definitely book here again. Looking forward to our next trip.
I don't know where to begin.... We stumbled on the Swiss Chalet at 11pm Christmas Eve. We had a long drive, and we had reserved a room at another hotel weeks in advance, only to learn upon arrival that they needed to move us to a smaller room. With a family of 6, we were nervous and it was Christmas Eve. But, to our delight Best Western Swiss Chalet to the rescue. I told the kids not to expect much as we just managed to book the last room online and I had never seen the hotel. All I can tell you is, WOW!! The decorations were nothing short of visiting the North Pole to see Santa himself. The hotel staff were all smiles when we walked in on Christmas Eve shortly before midnight. When entering our hotel room, we were AMAZED at how big the 2 bedrooms, dining room and bathroom were!! This hotel is simply amazing. And, I felt like I was truly in an exquisite chalet. Each bed and nightstand had a book, and I was hooked to reading it! When I woke up in the morning, I felt so well rested and my kids all said the beds were so comfortable. The hotel is very clean, inside and out. It is not a new hotel, but it is very well maintained. The breakfast buffet was delicious and constantly replenished. Indoor pool, that we didn't use, but it was beautiful. Lots of seating areas inside and outside the hotel where you can play games with your family, read a book or have a picnic. I highly recommend this hotel. I already told my family to expect us to stay here when we're in town!!
This location is like no other BW that I have ever stayed in. The staff will go out of their way to ensure you have a warm welcoming stay. Breakfast display and options were better than most restaurants as well as the quality and service. When I am in this area, I will choose to stay here only. This place is a diamond in the rough.
I would ONLY stay at this place if ever in the area again. So many amazing amenities, so clean and great buffet. We even got to wash the car off with the free carwash. The swiss theme is a great touch in the middle of nowhere Texas.
My wife and I stayed here last night. We had a king suite on the second floor. It was large and very well appointed. The whole hotel is beautiful. May be the nicest BW we have stayed in ( and we have been to many ). It is very close to the highway which is great for travellers. The breakfast was very good…almost everything you could want. Only complaint was that the hot food was only slightly warm but still very good. Would definitely recommend this place if Pecos is where you'll be spending the night.
Stayed in room 204. See pics. Nice and quite. Great breakfast. Nice big gym. Indoor pool. Front desk staff were pleasant. It's a big hotel and it's beautiful. There's convenience stores nearby. Would definitely stay there again.
From check in to check out my stay was top notch. Amenities we're amazing. Hot hot tub, car wash, & city park located right next door. Quiet rooms for a peaceful night sleep. Very happy with our stay!
This is a beautiful hotel. It is very convenient to the Interstate, close to several dining options and there is an easy stop for gasoline before hitting the road again. Front desk staff are great and the free breakfast was very much appreciated and enjoyed.
I am a hotelier of 30 years. I have spent most of my career in the luxury hotel segment however I realize limited and select service hotels have their place. This hotel blew my mind. I have to admit I had low expectations for a small town Best Western in west Texas. This hotel clearly is under great leadership. It is decorated beautifully and spotlessly clean. The staff was friendly and engaging. The rooms were large and had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The restroom also had Gillcrest and Soames bath amenities. Breakfast is included in the rate and it was excellent. The women working the breakfast were so friendly and helpful. (We left a huge tip) I highly recommend if you are traveling through this part of Texas.
The hotel was a great surprise. From check in to check out everything was very good. Attentive, friendly staff, very nice room with a patio, comfortable bed, very clean, good Covid protections and a great breakfast selection. 4 1/2 stars!
Super location and a really good Best Western ! Will stay at this location whenever I am passing through Pecos , Texas ! Rooms were great , staff was super good , breakfast was good ! All around one of the nicest Best Westerns I have stayed at .
We've stayed in other BW Plus hotels, but this one is unique for it's attention to detail; every need of the guest seems to have been anticipated plus much more, such as the indoor-outdoor party area with full kitchen and nice grill, the free car wash,, delicious fresh cookies at check-in, high end fixtures and lots of extra plugs in he room. As others have noted, breakfast was especially varied and good. Staff were friendly and efficient. We loved our Cabana room (except the A/C was noisy).
I almost do not want to provide this review, because I do not want this hotel to become too busy for me to get a reservation. In an area where even the best chain hotels are run-down and over priced because of oil field workers living there, this hotel is exceedingly clean, quiet, well maintained, and generally up-scale. The staff are so professional and helpful. I normally will drive an additional 4-5 hours to avoid West Texas hotels, and I am excited to find such a gem.
We stay here every time we go through West Texas because it's a wonderful Place to stay and never a disappointment!! This time was the same. Staff are amazing. Rooms and hotel itself is so well done and clean and comfortable. Breakfast is just delicious and not like any other hotel we've stayed in. If you haven't tried them you need to. You don't be dirty!!!
By far best Bestwestern stay I have experienced. Eye for detail through exceptional owners and all staff. Comfortable resort accommodations made this hotel property a home away from home. Never out of the way, BW Swiss Chalet is a go-to must.
This hotel is a great. The Decor, clean, bed was very comfortable, amenities, was all wonderful. We would definitely stay again. Breakfast was great with a variety of options including hot food prepared.
We had stayed here previously and were impressed with the service and cleanliness, so chose it again. We were greeted by a very friendly masked desk agent upon check in, who was also there when we checked out. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was wonderful but I was very surprised and disappointed to see the 2 kitchen staff were not wearing masks, either when serving patrons or in the kitchen. In fact the gentleman walked across the lobby and coughed loudly without even covering his mouth, and proceeded to the buffet to get a bowl of fresh fruit, taking it to the kitchen to eat. Needless to say, I no longer wanted to eat my breakfast. I then noticed none of the housekeeping staff were wearing masks. I mentioned it to the gentleman while checking out and he said " I'll let management know," at which point the unmasked lady at the desk with him left and went to her car and was returning with a mask as we departed. Sad ending to an otherwise great stay. Would have been 5 starts, but the careless staff made my rating a nose dive.
My husband was staying here for work , so we decided to go visit him. All the staff is nice and even got to meet one of the owners she was very nice. The hotel is beautiful, indoor pool and hot tub were relaxing. Full breakfast and complimentary laundry machines. Overall we loved our stay.
We stopped here after driving 11 straight hours. It was a godsend. Our room was clean, quiet, and well appointed. The staff were extremely helpful. We had a burger at the restaurant which was delicious. They took all of the Covid 19 restrictions seriously as they should. I can recommend this hotel.
Stayed there over a month for business and never had any complains what so ever. Everyone on point from the manager to employees very courteous, friendly and always going beyond to make your stay the best experience possible clean rooms and breakfast area always clean and plus great amenities best in any hotel around.
We discovered this hotel about a year ago and try to stay there now whenever we are going to the Ft. Worth area. It is clean, quiet, and the staff is friendly and professional. They offer the best free breakfast even for normal times, but in 2020 they excelled in comparison to all the other hotels we have stayed in. Our first stay, they had choices that they would cook up for us when we arrived for breakfast. This last stay they had a wonderful selection for a breakfast buffet but you could order eggs and pancakes and they would cook them right then. This hotel exceeds all other hotels we have stayed in for overall value, excellent amenities at a very affordable price.
Best place to stay in Pecos Texas. Probably the best within 100 miles. Friendliest and most accommodating staff I've had the pleasure to be served by in many of the hotels I've stayed in. Easy access on and off the highway and to where ever you might need to go in the area.
What a wonderful, delightful hotel, other hotels need to take a lesson from this little gem! When we arrived Corin made us feel like family..asked for a recommendation for dinner AND was provided with a local family restaurant, so good. Upon checking into our room it was large, spacious and spotless, so nice after a long days drive. Two THe so my husband could watch The football game and I could seal him the private sitting room. Hotel was tastefully decorated and furnished, spotless! The hot tub was lovely and huge...tired muscles were soaked away. After the Best sleep in our comfy bed..so fast was huge. Definitely will stay here again!
Stayed here on our way to Dallas for work. The lobby has cool spiral staircases and was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We got a lobby balcony king size room which was unique and fun. The rooms were some of the largest Ive ever seen and exceptionally clean, with a sitting area, big screen TV's, really comfy beds. Another plus was the hotels huge bathtub, which I always enjoy. The hotel offered free breakfast, which wasn't really Covid regulated, but offered a lot of hot items, coffee, juice, etc. Pecos itself is a truck stop town with not much going on, but if you ever find yourself here, this hotel is worth the stay!
Don't miss out on staying at this place. It is an oasis in the middle of the desert and will make you forget where you are for a while, has amazing decor and American owners that go out of there way to keep it clean and in great shape. The rooms are decor intensive with tall ceilings and the king suites are a three room set up with 3 televisions, tables and lots of goodies, has a buetiful spiral staircase and fast elevators, FREE laundry facilities in every building and massive well lit beautiful parking area for big trucks as well, trucks with trailers, whatever... don't miss out, this place rocks... you won't believe it
excellent modern facility with attention to decor and detail. Large spacious room. Ours had an inside balcony. Plenty of outlets, attention to location of area outside smaller bathroom that was a spacious one with a long table area with towels and sink. Therefore, small sink in full bathroom and larger sink just outside the bathroom into main living area. Excellent value. We did not have breakfast but it smelled wonderful.
We were staying in Pecos to attend a family funeral and this hotel was the perfect base for us. There are tables downstairs where we could gather as a family and a hot tub we could enjoy with our children. The breakfast is prepared on site, and you couldn't receive better food or service. We had a minor repair needed in our room and it was promptly attended to. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. It is far superior to any hotel I have stayed at, even in much larger towns.
It's hard to beat a clean, quiet room; comfortable bed that made my husband and I both feel like Goldilocks (just right); and a hot breakfast buffet that included cooked-to-order eggs with a wide assortment of fresh fruit and other goodies. The front desk clerk and the breakfast hostess were both sociable and helpful; a true credit to their employer.
For a very reasonable rate, we had a spotless downstairs room with the nice surprise of a door that opened up to a private back porch area with a table and chairs. The hotel lobby is very modern and beautifully decorated. We had a great hot breakfast with lots of choices. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank u to Cassandra for helping me with phone reservations. I definitely recommend this hotel.
This hotel was a total surprise in Pecos. It's spotless clean, really pretty and inviting! The room was excellent! Furnishings new and comfortable. We had a balcony. The bathroom was large and lots of amenities! The breakfast was delicious and had a large selection plus you could get eggs made to order!! We've stayed in Hotels all over the world and honestly this ranked up there with some of the nicest. Even the parking and outside appearance was clean and inviting!! My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer but I look forward to our next trip through the area!!
This was our last stop on the way back home from our San Diego road trip. Large room was very clean, beds were very comfortable and it's conveniently located right off the interstate. Free breakfast had plenty to choose from. One of the nice ladies working the area made me a couple of perfectly cooked over medium eggs to go with my bacon and gravy smothered hash browns. Good cinnamon rolls as well. Would book again and highly recommend.
This was the best experience we've experienced during a stay at a hotel. It was beautiful and we were treated like Roalty. The room was clean, the hotel lobby is breath taking. The swimming pool and hot tub area are amazing. Very well worth the time and money!!
One of the best hotels anywhere in West Texas. Excellent accommodations, pleasant comfortable rooms that are oversized. The balcony rooms in the lobby atrium area are a special treat. Management and staff all provide exceptional service. Breakfast is a buffet served by a staff member. Large selection of tasty items, which is very unusual during the Covid crisis in any hotel. Wonderful indoor pool. The Alpine Restaurant adjacent is owned and operated by the same family/management, and has an extensive menu with well prepared and presented entrees. A very fine salad bar is also available. Cocktail lounge too, for all of your favorite adult beverages. Lots of convenient off street parking. As a Best Western Rewards Platinum member, I enthusiastically give them my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!!
My family and I enjoyed our first stay so much we came back on our return trip home. The pool and hot tub were beautiful and our room was the biggest we have ever stayed in...for a rate that was unbelievable! Staff was friendly and kind all the way around. Breakfast was included, fitness center was very spacious, and the atmosphere was cozy and unique. We would stay here again and again.
#1 ranked on TripAdvisor for value didn't disappoint. Arrived 1 AM. Desk attendant was helpful with efficient checkin. Rooms are spacious. Bedding is clean and comfortable. Quiet and a good night sleep. Due to Covid, ordered breakfast to be picked up in the morning Breakfast burritos were bagged & ready to go at 7AM. Great breakfast. Great coffee. Excellent nights sleep. Rate was reasonable. Overall very satisfied.
Best Western Plus is becoming my favorite chain. This place was wonderful - beautiful lobby, spacious room and excellent breakfast. There is a restaurant next door that serves 2 BW's on the property - dinner was good, but not great and there was a very lively bar in the back
We travel quite a bit—and this is one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. Super clean; extremely friendly; great breakfast; large, soft towels; comfortable bed; pristine laundry room; a welcome bag for members; extremely thought out amenities (cleaning cloth for shoes, etc; hooks where they should be; sink outside the bathroom are ); even a tasty gift on the pillow. The only negative— we could only stay one night. Thank you for a great stay!!
Great Victorian resort feel w tons of amenities.. staff is very accommodating, pub on site, car wash, gym, heated indoor pool. Room was clean and sanitized properly and the best breakfast in the morning!!
We could live here! Phenomenal! Like a resort! Fabulous! Such a wonderful stay that we booked 2 more nights! The staff are sooo accommodating! We are excited to return! This location is enroute to Big Bend National Park or Guadalupe Mountain National Park. We also visited White Sands National Park before stopping at this WONDERFUL HOTEL.
I've never stayed at a Best Western before, but I will from now on. Spotless room. They even took care to sanitize and wrap the TV remote. Nice restaurant on site with a full bar. You can have a full breakfast buffet included with your room or you can take the voucher next door to the Best Western Plus and have fabulous for breakfast. But what truly won my heart? They had a goodie bag for my dog. So, so sweet. We'll be back.
Best hotel in the price bracket that I have ever stayed at. Friendly staff, fantastic breakfast with lots of variety, very soft towels and soft toilet paper. All the comforts of home. Just need the Swiss chocolate on my pillow.
Our family stayed for one night as part of a long road trip. There was immediately a welcoming feel as we walked in the lobby, with a beautiful Christmas tree, cookies, hot cocoa and cider. The room was clean and comfortable, and the extra counter space and mirror outside the bathroom was helpful for getting ready in the morning. The top floor was very quiet and we all slept great. My favorite part of the stay was the breakfast: there was so much variety! There were about a dozen options for fresh fruit, much more than I have ever seen at a hotel. There were also three meat options, two egg options, waffles, and of course biscuits and gravy. :) This was a great option for a family and we would definitely stay here again.
Full-sized huge tub to soak away the desert. Huge room. Refrigerator. Room 321 faced highway. Highway noise was not excessive but steady. Staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very complete and breakfast staff was great.
It's nice to know when I travel there again I can count on them to give me what I want. Very smooth check in. This hotel is an oasis in the middle of the oil field. I highly recommend it. Rooms are extremely clean. This surely is a home away from home.
Great hotel. People are friendly and the breakfast is better than any restaurant. They give out small towels that come in really handy. Always my go to when in Pecos, Texas. If you're in Pecos or driving through, you will not be disappointed.
Far west Texas and the city of Pecos can seem desolate to travelers unfamiliar with this area, but this hotel is a gem in this desert. The property is clean and well-maintained and conveniently located on the frontage road on the south side of I-20. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The service staff are friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is a cut above the norm featuring eggs cooked to order by a friendly and attentive breakfast staff. All the normal breakfast options are also available every day. The wireless internet worked flawlessly and the fitness center is well-equipped and in good working order. All in all this is a great value for the price.
Great get away for the family and not to far from carlsbad caverns. nice staff and great pool area. It has a great work room and nice little bar/ lounge right next door to have dinner or a drink. We visit every few months for a nice get away.
As a professional business employee that spends so much time on the road, the Best Western Plus in Pecos, TX makes me feel right at home. The reception desk is always staffed with professional and kind people that are very welcoming. Now I find myself looking for Best Western Plus as my primary selection when visiting other cities and locations.
Great hotel to stay in. Breakfast was great, you cannot get cell phone service when in the rooms. When we checked out they double charged us and when I tried to explain it to them they could not understand how that was possible even after me showing them my bank account to verify that it was double charged. Plus most employees do not speak English very well so it made communicating VERY difficult when trying to explain the situation to them. I am Hispanic and do not speak fluent Spanish.
Everyone from the staff was super helpful and nice!!! Room very clean and comfortable. The neatness of the pool and tables around it was impeccable Overall I will stay in the hotel from now on, no questions asked!!
You want to stay here. This is a great hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with great variety on the buffet and cooked to order options if desired. Highly recommend this hotel.
I stayed two nights in June 2019 on business. The property is amazing, appearing brand new. Huge rooms with comfortable sitting areas and separate TV. Very comfortable bed and thoroughly cleaned each day by room service. The indoor pool looked awesome, very cool design features, but I didn't have a swim suit unfortunately. I did use the fitness center which was by the pool. The fitness room was very ‘airy' with two big screens. Breakfast buffet was amazing, great selection, great coffee, and great fresh fruit both mornings. The morning buffet staff was extremely friendly and accommodating as well. I had the chance to meet the owner at check in who was a delight, a true gem who understands the hospitality industry. Her high standards are evident in this property. It's located very convenient to the airport right off of I-20. I'd love to stay again on business or especially with the family if I ever find myself in need of a room in Pecos. I highly recommend without hesitation.
The location is good, the room was clean, bed was comfortable, facility wasn't noisy, and breakfast was good! (Please note this is NOT the BW Swiss Clock Inn!) The decor throughout is surprisingly nice! The room is spacious and temperature in the room was easy to control! Microwave and fridge were included.
If you have to stay in Pecos, this is a unique stay with a family owned feel. I have not stayed in a BW brand in many, many years but this property won me over. The hotel has a main property, a pool house and gym and two sets of cabana rooms- think motor inn. We stayed in a cabana room which was very clean and fairly spacious. It was nice to have a micro and a fridge. The AC got very cool and the room was surprisingly quiet. Never heard another guest or door slamming etc. the workout room was very good for a hotel of this caliber and the pool area was nice. The breakfast was one of the better I have had in a long time beating out Hamptons, Marriotts etc. The property has a mini car rinse station, which if u find yourself in Pecos, you will need!
The managment and the staff at this Hotel were very helpful and cheerful. The rooms and amenities were very nice. The breakfast had a great selection of fresh fruits and foods from the normal hotel continental breakfasts. Keep up the Great work! See you guys soon.
The staff were so friendly, the breakfast was so good, and the room was huge. We loved the patio off of the room. This is a beautiful hotel. Everything is so clean. We loved the onsite washer & dryer. The homemade cookies were excellent. I will never stay at another hotel while in Pecos, again. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, we tried to buy them.
The hotel is very well maintained with a very nice staff. If you're traveling through Pecos I would definitely recommend staying here instead of the other hotels in the area.. It is right off the freeway and easy to reach, but there is a bit of road noise from the freeway, it did not keep us from sleeping. They serve a wonderful free breakfast as well.
This place is great, the rooms are very comfortable. There is plenty of space around the furniture. The theme of the Swiss Chalet was very cute, and carried throughout. The beds were so comfy, the sheets high quality. Breakfast was so good! There are plenty of options for any taste. Parking was accessible too
By far that was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at I really enjoyed staying at Best Western hotels with that one went above and beyond from day one the Wi-Fi is excellent the breakfast was excellent they did cook to order anything you wanted just an extremely well kept place and a wonderful experience
The room was a nice size and clean. However, I was surrounded by lots of men who liked to listen to loud music outside of the hotel room. After returning from dinner, there were no parking spaces anywhere near my room. I had to park pretty far away and walk. The night's sleep was terrible, at best. I could easily hear snoring from all three rooms that surrounded my room. The hotel staff was courteous and kind.
We only stayed one night. We did not use the shower so can't comment on that. The toilet kept running after flushing it. The beds were decent but a little too hard for my liking. The walls are very thin. We could hear the phone vibrating from the room next to us and woke us up at around 5am. The phone continued ringing for hours. Breakfast was really good. There is a restaurant next door. We found it very pricey and not very good. Would recommend getting food elsewhere. Overall it was a good stay just wish we could've slept longer.
First time here visiting my husband while he's working in pecos. So glad I picked the best western plus the suites are a good size and had plenty of room for me and my 3yr old to spread out and enjoy our stay...the staff is amazing will definitely be back again
I'm very disappointed with this hotel. As a rewards member, and paying $275 for one night, I got a room that was adjacent to a noisy intersection, the a/c barely cooled the room, the bathroom door cannot be completely closed, and more. Perhaps there are much better rooms, but mine was not. Notwithstanding the good breakfast, I expected a nicer room for the price.
Very clean, comfortable hotel with restaurant right next door - beds were very comfortable and it was amazingly quiet. did not get to use pool area (unfortunately) but it looked clean and will want to try on next trip - breakfast area was crowded but that was understandable as the food was very nice for free buffet! Definitely putting this on my stay again agenda
Great hotel in pecos, TX / best breakfast in town / rooms always clean / customer service is key here at the bestwestern plus / swimming pool is wonderful / they even have a BBQ patio that my best part of the hotel....
Had a great stay in Pecos. Wonderful room. Large bathtub in shower. Very clean and quiet. Friendly cleaning staff. Enjoyed the stay very much. Will return to this hotel. Nice car wash. Places to sit outside made it nice also
***Good*** Check in went smoothly and they accommodated a room change. The room and bathroom were clean, the a/c worked well, and the WiFi and Ethernet worked. The room was very spacious, the computer desk was well sized, and the computer desk chair rolls easily on the carpet. The tub had a horizontal grab bar – very good BW! The room has two sinks, one in the room near the entry, and one in the bathroom. The faucet in the room had a bad leak around the hot handle and water was running all over the counter top. I reported this right away to the front desk, and shortly afterward, they had maintenance personnel there to fix the problem. They had to replace the entire faucet unit, but it got done quickly – again very good BW! Breakfast items are varied, good, and replenished. ***Not good*** The early morning coffee in the breakfast area is not really hot, it is between very warm and hot. The breakfast area is a semi-formal eating area with ceramic dishes and metal utensils. This is sort of good, but gives a feeling of uncomfortable formality just to eat breakfast. Where BW is really lacking is early morning hot water in the room. I turned on the hot water faucet and let an insane, absurd, environmentally wasteful amount of water run down the drain and still no hot water. BW needs to increase boiler size, add a boiler, do something to remedy this. Early morning hot water has not been a problem at any other hotel so far, only here. The front desk said that it is likely due to all the oil field workers getting ready at the same time. So what? They too should be complaining about no hot water in the early morning. No, there is no justifiable excuse for this situation. Another bad problem is the lights over the room sink and around the corner from the sink over another counter. Both sets of lights come on from one switch. Turn them on and the lights around the corner are right in the eyes of someone trying to sleep. The lights over the counter should be on a separate switch so another person could turn on the lights over the room sink and not turn on the lights around the corner. Another problem was the water being turned off at various times. This is not good when you have a toilet that needs flushing or are covered in soap in the tub. When I contacted the front desk more than once, I was always told “It should be on in 5 minutes.” Well, those 5 minutes each time turned into more like 20 to 30 minutes. Why can't the front desk tell the real truth instead of just saying something to make the guest go away? There are some serious issues here that need a change to improve the guest experience.
This is an outstanding property that is well worth the price. Easy access from the interstate with plenty of parking. Clean spacious grounds and common areas, including a lovely pool. An excellent public park next door allowed the kids to run around to burn off energy after days of sitting in the car. The room was clean. spacious and comfortable with plenty of amenities. The breakfast was great and started early so we could continue our cross country trip.
If your out here on business or merely traveling up and down I-20, this a very nice, excellent maintained, great friendly staff, hard to believe this hotel is located here. Prices are little high but in this area your lucky to find anything, due the booming oil and gas in the area.
Found the hotel to be very nice but very disappointed with some of the staff for the price you pay you figured they could be a little bit nicer the clerk that checked us in (Melissa) was very rude you can honestly tell she is just there for a paycheck not friendly at all sad to say that the male clerk was a lot nicer.
This place is smashingly great! My family felt well rested after the cleanest room (THANKS HOUSEKEEPING)and best breakfast (THANK YOU LADIES). Breakfast manager runs a tight ship. The fresh fruit options made my morning, my husband looked forward to biscuits & gravy was not disappointed. The children enjoyed hot cocoa & the plentiful buffet options. The decor and upscale feel would surprise you to know this haven is in oilfield country. We never wanted to leave. The Texas-sized rooms had Texas sized bathrooms. Let me tell you. Many places have just enough room...not this place I was able to soak after a long camping trips aches. I will recommend this place to EVERYONE!!! Wish I could give this a 10?.
I usually stay in this Motel whenever I'm working on the Area is the best on town, clean rooms full gym, free car wash, free laundry, full breakfast buffet and many amenities. Simply the best. And a friendly staff service
Excellent staff, great breakfast, clean rooms. Due to long stays for work, would like to have kitchenette available. Mattresses are too hard for my taste. Also needs to have better water pressure in the shower.
We only stayed one night as we were just passing through and what a pleasant surprise. The lobby is very well done, the staff very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom was clean, a big plus in my opinion. I really like that there is a dressing area with a sink separate from the bathroom and there is a full bathroom. The bed and pillows were more comfortable than more exclusive places where we have stayed. We will definitely use again and will recommend to our friends.
We went scuba diving at Balmorhea and it was only 45 minutes away. Our stay at the hotel was great. The breakfast was excellent. We used the pool and the hot tub and both were excellent. Our stay was very pleasant and all the staff was great!!!!
I was driving in Texas headed to Houston , it got later than i thought so i pulled into the Best Western Plus in Pecos.. I was given a room in a very pleasing hotel..a sort of old fashioned place , with a nice pleasant feel about it.. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.. Breakfast was included and it was really good. The staff was helpful , all in all, a good find on a late night.
What a pleasure to pull up at night and experience the Swiss feel, tall lighted Christmas tree outside and colorful lights everywhere! Great time to stay, but would go back any time of the year! It was beautiful inside and out.
This hotel is quaint, well-equipped, comfortable and made me feel like I was home. Employees are friendly and efficient. The breakfast is outstanding! Well-equipped fitness center, indoor pool and hot tub.
$ 279.00 for a regular room in the back in the cabanas - a lot of $$$. The room is clean and safe though - nothing fancy. But the restaurant next door is really good ! Ordered food to go because there was a wait - it was yummy.
What a surprise and pleasure to arrive at this new and beautifully decorated hotel! After driving through the Permian Basin with nothing but dust, dirt, trucks and gas/oil production plants we arrived at this BW... Wow, we could not have been happier! Met the owner Marian and complemented her on such a tastefully decorated hotel in old, dusty Pecos! Very friendly staff, large comfortable room with new flat screen tv, excellent WiFi and k cup coffee maker! Delicious breakfast buffet, not the usual! Stay and enjoy!!!!
I have to travel to Pecos at least once a year for business and I always try to stay at the Swiss Chalet. The staff are very nice and the hotel accommodations are well above average for that area. The only thing I suggest is that if you are a woman traveling alone, please ask the hotel staff for a room in the main building. The back two buildings are primarily occupied by oilfield workers. Nevertheless, I have never had a problem with any of the male guests as they have always been pleasant and respectful. And the hotel has always made it a point to make sure I have a room in that main building. I highly recommend this location to anyone.
Best motel I have ever been with in my 25 plus years. Outstanding service and friendly people. This is a beautiful facility next to I-20. Amenities include pool, Jacuzzi, exercise room, breakfast and hand wand car wash. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who travels.
Staff couldn't care less about your problems. Makes no effort to help. It's their schedule and their program not yours. Drove an extra 150 miles because of the breakfast that was offered. Alarm didn't work. Didn't awaken in time for breakfast. No one would take responsibility for the malfunctioning alarm and though food was available wouldn't provide any to us. No one knows where the supervisor is... unavailable. Here's where you can write to...... hiding!? Staff had no time to hear our story, couldn't have cared less....
The hotel at 1st look seem to be the usual "OH GREAT" doors on the outside hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to see the check in area and then the room, wonderful bed and awesome night sleep. This place was GREAT!!!
Friendly, helpful staff. Nice rooms (not 5 star nice, but still very nice) with HUGE bathtubs. Now then, the breakfast. It. Is. Awesome. I travel a lot for business so I've had my share of complimentary breakfasts and this is by far one of the very best! I'm not talking freeze dried eggs and questionable sausage. This is a working kitchen that cooks to order. They also whip up other dishes for the buffet just to keep it interesting. Breakfast burritos, house made pastries, fresh fruit. It's fantastic!
Stayed at the Swiss Chalet in Pecos, Texas June 23rd thru 25th. I can't say enough about the service provided to my wife and me during our stay. Staff was outstanding! Hotel was clean and most comfortable. Beautiful place! Look foreward to staying here again. A+++++
This hotel is a real gem in an area where there are many expensive mediocre hotels. Rooms are spacious and well kept. Better than average breakfasts with specially cooked eggs and a good selection for everyone.
This is a beautiful place! My favorite so far this trip. Lots of details went in to this place for the comfort of the guests. Friendly staff and clean rooms. We weren't expecting how big it was. It's literally a lush paradise in the hot desert. Breakfast was really good. Served buffet style
This is a beautiful property with wonderful caring staff. Take time to look at the beautiful pictures and furniture. I could see an elegant wedding setting with the staircase. The room was clean, beds comfortable!
This place was wonderful. More than I expected it to be for Pecos, TX. The hotel was so clean and comfortable. The beds were wonderful. The bathrooms were very clean. I liked that they had a vanity outside the bathroom as well as a sink inside the bathroom. The rooms were large. The pool was great. The breakfast was even better. They had oatmeal and any fixings you could want, Belgian waffle maker, eggs, sausage and tacos fixings. They even had a lot of fresh cut fruit (grapes, peaches, cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, etc). You get real plates and silverware unlike Holiday Inn. Definitely a place to recommend, especially for people with young children. There is a park next door in walking distance. They even had plenty of movie channels. We asked for a roll out cot and that too was very comfortable.
Very nice non-smoking room with lots of room to stretch out. Large TV and definitely worth the money spent. I understand they are drilling for oil and all rooms are in demand so make your reservation early!!
This place has it all. Well, we are in West Texas, so, this isn't the Las Vegas strip. The unique design and theme in relation to the climate and locale make this a stand apart destination. The amenities are generous and are a welcome respite whether on a overnight stay or for business purposes. There is an indoor pool and hot tub that is wonderful. Their workout facility is a stand alone building that has everything one needs to stay fit while traveling. There is a main hotel building (three stories) which is what traditional travelers can expect or cabanas that are off of the main building and are individual units in a long building and are a short walk to the main. There are R.V. hookups that are at the back of the property. Ok, the piece de resistance is the breakfast. Not your standard hotel fair, but actually cooked to order eggs. You don't have to have your eggs cooked special though, as the buffet style eggs with bacon and round or link sausage is simply amazing! There is a restaurant next door that is fine for dinner and they also have a lovely bar. Treat yourself by booking a room here. For business travelers-stay away!(I want this place to myself!!!) If you find yourself away from home, and are driving through West Texas, and need a place to stay, this Best Western is more than worth paying a visit. It is truly an Oasis in the desert. Bon Voyage, et Bon Temps.
I am reporting them to the BBB for overcharging me, refusing to change the card being charged or refund the overcharged account and charging me for a room I never reserved TWO WEEKS LATER! I was overdrawn for 11 days due to a lazy manager who would never call me or my fiancé back. I will never stay here again and I am disgusted that they would take hard earned money from people with integrity.
I loved the people very nice and the hot tub is awesome I didn't like that it was packed but I guess cud it is a great hotel that's the reason the town is not so great there not really nothing there to do
Great experience. MARIA was very friendly. All staff overall are very polite and best great overall value. Would recommend this hotel any day of the week. Easily accessible and offers great amineties.
Been in the Pecos area for work quite a bit and stayed at other hotels. The reviews on this hotel are accurate and easily the best hotel in the area. Spacious and well maintained hotel inside and outside the rooms. Good exercise room. I stayed in the hotel and noticed the cabanas behind the hotel that looked intriguing. Restaurant is next door which is good. Breakfast is very good, but not exceptional as other reviewers noted.
On our trips East, my wife and I usually stop for the night in Van Horn, TX. This trip we decided to drive a bit further to Pecos. We usually stay in one of the better national chain motels but this trip opted for the Best western Plus Swiss Chalet. Absolutely the best choice! Best Western has shaken the "so, so" motel image and in Pecos presented more than "a place to stay". This place is wonderful. Friendly, efficient staff, marvelous appointments in the room and bath, and first rate amenities. The room was quiet and clean, air conditioning worked well and beds comfortable. Included breakfast was tasty and ample. With all due respect, except for the gas and oil industry, Pecos is not a destination for many. But with the Best western Swiss Chalet, it is an oasis in the West Texas desert. Next trip East, we will again take the time to drive the extra miles to Pecos.
Very nice gym that is detached from hotel. The pool is very nice and it too is detached from hotel. They installed a single car bay car wash to spray off the mud you might accumulate on your business travels in the oilfield.
Very cozy, new, clean, roomy, and great amenities. Plenty of parking, the free breakfast is very tasty and plenty of it. Also, the front desk help is exceptionally nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel for any stays in this area of west Texas.
We stay here several times a year. Never had a bad experience. Rooms are comfortable, wifi is good, breakfast is excellent and filling. Have brought grandkids once and they loved the pool. Enjoy the fitness room when we have time. Although there are a lot of choices in Pecos, many new hotels, can't imagine staying anywhere else wen our experience here has been so good.
This hotel charges more than the one next door. The service sucks. Reservation catastrophe. When I showed up told me I was to be there day before, already charged, and didn't have a room for me. I asked who I could speak to about it and she said nobody. The same company owns both hotels side by side. One is a plus and this one. Go to the Plus or somewhere else totally.
Even though Pecos is out in the middle of west Texas, this is a nice oasis. Great rooms, and great breakfast. We had a little casita, and even though we had a late arrival, it was ready The staff were pleasant.
I was very nicely surprised by the Best Western Plus Swiss Chalet Hotel. Impressive lobby, better than average breakfast for this level of hotel, and nice rooms. My wife especially loved the larger and deeper than average bath tub. On future return trips to Pecos, this will be my first choice.
The Best Western Plus Swiss Chalet Hotel & Suites in Pecos, Texas is an excellent hotel. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful in appearance, and the breakfast is outstanding. It's the best hotel in Pecos, Texas.
Our company recently stayed at this hotel and Mike at the front desk went above and beyond his duties to accommodate our employees & made sure their stay was excellent. Mike made sure our check out went smoothly. I would recommend this hotel and I really appreciate Mike at the front desk!
I have stayed in many hotels and all have a free breakfast. This hotel, has the best breakfast of any other hotel. It is different every day and they will even fix it to order. Other than problem with an inferior TV, everything was excellent.
Manager Dave and the whole crew, staff and everyone at the Best Western Swiss Chalet are the people who provide the best stay in West Texas. Whether you stay in the hotel proper or in the cabanas where you park at your room door, all is great. High quality breakfast bar with a grand assortment of hot food, fresh fruit, cerial and made to order eggs and pancakes. large exercise room and indoor pool and hot tub. Nice restaurant with good food and bar at the Alpine Restaurant. The only place to stay in Pecos.
My husband and I were amazed by this establishment. I can safely say that this was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Spotlessly clean, huge rooms with super comfortable beds, extra large bathroom, and two sinks. The buffet breakfast was fabulous, lots of wonderful choices, and they will even cook your eggs to order. The restaurant next door offers delicious food as well. We shared the chicken fried steak for dinner and both of us had plenty to eat. I highly recommend this Best Western Plus. I wish every hotel was this nice. Perhaps I can retire and live here!
Right on Interstate 10. Older hotel for area, but beautiful inside, clean, updated, quiet rooms with a sink/granite countertop for getting ready in the bedroom and a small pedastle sink in the bathroom Deep bath tub. Regrigerator, microwave, large room, nice indoor pool, and very nice, nearly new exercise area. Hot breakfast buffet and continental breakfast, with made ot order eggs. Wish every hotel we stayed at had the amenities this one has for the price. Highly recomend this for business, family, and pleasure travel.
From check in till check out, everything was perfect! The indoor pool was very clean and a perfect temperature. Lots of fresh towels available in pool area, too. Loved the hot tub. Front desk was very helpful when booking, as well as when we checked in. Michael, who was working both for the call and check in, was very personable, helpful, and good at his job. Totally recommend this property.
We travel I-10 to Tucson frequently and usually stay in Van Horn. This time we decided to veer off our usual path and go through Pecos. Are we SO glad we did!!! The day we arrived, a cold front was just blowing through so it was cold and raining. But once you step inside the lobby, you just feel enveloped by warmth. From check-in, to check-out, everything was so pleasant. The room we got was close to an elevator which was a little worrisome but we heard no elevator noises at all. Now THIS room is how ALL hotel rooms should be. The room was very spacious and the best part was that they had the huge vanity for the bathroom OUTSIDE the bathroom, and had an extra little sink inside the bathroom. Brilliant!!! The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of table and counter space. My husband and I agreed, we will never be able to look at an ordinary hotel room again in the same way. I'm not sure if all rooms in this hotel are the same, and unfortunately cannot remember our room number, although it is behind the elevator on the third floor. This is a Best Western Plus and their breakfasts are excellent. My husband ordered two eggs over easy, and I ordered one pancake. That, along with all the other food in the buffet, was easily one of the best hotel breakfasts EVER! Only negative is nit-picking, but they really didn't need to have the AC on in that room on 62 degrees. It was like a freezer in there. We cranked on the heater, which of course smelled like burning until that was all burned off and then it was so very comfortable inside the room. We enjoyed our stay here VERY much and are tempted to go out of our way again on our next trip to Tucson! We know it would be worth the extra miles!
Pecos, Texas, is kind of a scruffy town. So finding a new, well-cared-for, immaculately clean hotel like the Best Western Plus Swiss Chalet was a nice surprise. Apparently the owner/developer is from Switzerland, and it shows. Our room was large, clean, quiet, and well-appointed. The free continental breakfast is actually like what you'd find in a European hotel. Several hot items in covered serving vessels. Lots of fruit. Actual orange juice, with pulp! And a breakfast staff of several people. As we departed in the morning, there were people cleaning and sweeping everywhere. There was even a guy in the parking lot sweeping up the red dirt left by the tires of a pick-up. If you ever find yourself in Pecos, Texas, this is the place to stay.
The staff is always friendly, the rooms are always clean, and the breakfast is delicious! This hotel has more amenities than any other hotel by far. I have stayed here on and off for the past two years for work. Great Place to stay in and around the Pecos area.
I've seen the reviews for this hotel and I wish I could've had a similar experience! Unfortunately, we got stuck in a room with an extremely dirty bathroom! My husband and I were travelling to Utah and stopped here for the night in March 2016. While attempting to take a shower, I noticed mucus on the shower curtains and the walls. It wasn't dried mucus, this was bloody fresh. I was beyond distraught and so disappointed! As friendly and welcoming, and as clean as the lobby was... The mucus just ruined the entire stay.
We love this hotel and stay here every chance we get if passing through. It is beautiful and well maintained. The greatest Best Western we have ever stayed in. The rooms are super clean and very nicely decorated. Beds are very comfortable. We love the large indoor pool and hot tub. This hotel has the largest selection for free breakfast and everything tastes wonderful. Also get a 10% discount for restaurant next door with stay and it's good too.
I am staying in town for business and I have stayed at this hotel for many months. The hotel staff is always friendly and the amenities offered are fantastic! Do not miss out on the wonderful breakfast every morning. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
The desk clerk was super friendly upon check in. The hotel was immaculate and our room was perfect. The beds were very comfortable and the floor was quiet. We loved the swimming pool and hot tub. The breakfast was very good with plenty of options. This is the best Best Western that I've ever stayed at.
Stay here several times a year, and everything is great. Seldom use the indoor pool, but the fitness center is brand new, and the breakfas, while it looks continental, has hot breakfast items and they will cook your eggs made to order. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice, with extra space for the wife to get ready, outside the bath room. Bath tubs are deep and nice for soaking. Wife loves it!
This is one of the top Best Western hotels in the world. It's quiet, clean, and well maintained. The staff is polite and efficient. The breakfast bar was stocked with many delicious choices. I travel with a laptop computer and smartphone, and I usually have problems with not enough power outlets. Not here!!! This is just one example of many why this is an outstanding hotel.
My family and I stayed here in July. Our room had two queen beds, and was quite spacious. The biggest of any room on our two week vacation! The staff was very friendly at checkin, and offered us a cookie, before heading to our room. The breakfast was very good. The staff clearly makes breakfast a priority. Eggs, sausage, crispy bacon, waffles, etc.... Excellent! If we ever head back to Balmorhea pool, we'll be sure to stay here!
The hotel itself was clean and up to date. The front desk staff left little to be desired. They were rude and uninformed about affiliates or partnerships. They were not willing to help with inquiring information for me.
We were greeted with cookies and extra water bottles, had a very nice room, very comfortable; friendliest service. Breakfast was also very enjoyable and so was the beautiful pool. We would recommend this hotel to our friends.
I spent a weekend in Pecos attending a school reunion. I was aware of this hotel from the time it was built, but I never had the opportunity to stay there. I was amazed at the size of the room and at the quality of the furnishings. It will be my first choice when I travel there again, and I would recommend it to anyone traveling through the area.
This is the most unexpected hotel I have ever "randomly" stopped at. We were on spring break and decided to spend the break at big bend, balmoreah, fort davis and Carlsbad caverns. We needed to stay at a hotel for a few days to make our trip to Carlsbad not a bad. We seriously just stopped to check prices and were completely floored by this beautiful hotel. We were graciously greeted by amazing staff who gave us an unbelievable price on a king master suite. (so much so that we stayed 2 nights). They also had cookies upon check in! The room was gorgeous! It had 2 queen beds, a dining room and a master bedroom with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The bathroom was clean and the water was super hot. There were a total of 3 t.v.'s in this suite. The room also had a microwave and mini fridge. There was not a speck of dust in this room! It was spotless!!! The pool, the reason we stayed, is indoor and "heated". The spa was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. And while my husband and I soaked, we watched the kids swim! There were fresh towels ready at the pool. The breakfast buffet was delicious! Although it was a little over priced. They did give us all a complimentary breakfast our first morning, but we had to pay for the second morning. My husband and I are talking about taking another trip, just to stay at this hotel!
great hotel wonderful staff, everything you could need in a hotel. pool was wonderful the rooms clean and good internet. free laundry, grills, fire pit, hot tub and fitness room was wonderful. I stay here every time I'm in pecos,tx
Wonderful facility and accommodations; an oasis in the desert. Staff is pleasant; the breakfast buffet and cook-to-order eggs and pancakes is a treat. Easy on/off access to I-20. Facilities are clean and well-cared for. I'll stay there again.
During a road trip we stopped in Pecos, TX. It is not a large town, but the basic hotels are there. Much to our surprise the Best Western Plus Swiss Chalet Hotel & Suites was a fabulous find. This hotel rivals many resorts we have stayed at. The rooms, décor, amenities, and staff is superb. We almost wanted to stay in Pecos just to enjoy the hotel! Highly recommend!!
Pecos is a small West Texas town and this is a small oasis in this small town. The check in was great and smooth. The lobby was clean and well decorated in a swiss motif. The room was huge and was clean and had everything you could need. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet at night. The swimming pool area was nice, it had inside and outside seating that was very enjoyable with the cool west Texas breeze. The breakfast was good. It was well stocked with plenty of choices. They even will cook you fresh eggs to your liking. Some of the rooms have balconies or patios. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it.
Beautiful large rooms, great pool and a wonderful breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This was the first time I've stayed at a hotel that truly served a full hot breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable. This was our first time here, but we'll definitely be back.
This hotel offered us a true two bedroom suite so that we were able to put the kids to bed in a separate secure room. This is hard to find as most hotel suites just have a pony wall separating the living space from the sleeping space. For this reason alone I love this hotel. The room was clean and well decorated however there were parts of the room that seemed to be falling apart. Cupboards off their hinges, wood doors chipped, and most of the wood pieces in the room seemed pieced together. This didn't really affect our experience but it just seemed odd that half the room was well maintained and the half not so much. The room had a nice, clean bathroom with a huge bathtub and a separate sink area which is nice. The breakfast was okay - typical of a "free" breakfast. I would stay here again as it was a great fit for our family.
Great hotel find while traveling cross country. Hotel was clean, comfy and had a good restaurant next door. Relaxed at the pool/hot tub after travelling on the motorcycle all day. Ashley, the young girl at the front desk, was a perfect example of how great this hotel is.
We stay here about 3 times a year and we love it! Large, comfortable rooms and a fantastic, hot breakfast buffet. Best breakfast of any hotel we stay at and we stay at quiet a few during the year for business purposes.
Booked 3 rooms through trip advisor. Checked into 2 rooms. The rest of the party arrived later and there was no reservation for them. So I had to pay again for the 3rd room. I will be asking trip advisor for a refund for one of the rooms. The rooms were nice and complementary breakfast as was pretty good.
Can't believe this was a Best Western. I can't believe this was in the middle of who knows where. The rooms were big, the lobby lovely, the breakfast very good (biscuits, sausage, eggs, waffles, fruit, much more), the staff very nice. We walked to the building next door for dinner - it was adequate, with a super nice staff. Will definitely come back!!
I have been in Pecos Texas for the past two years for work and this hotel in hands down the best place to stay. The staff is always friendly, the rooms are clean and big, and the breakfast is awesome! If you are visiting Pecos I would highly recommend staying here.
There is not much in Pecos but this is a pretty mice place to stay. It is clean and has large comfortable rooms. The decor could be brighter but all in all it is a good place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful, mother gave breakfast with cook to order eggs. Has a large covered pool. My only real complaint would be is that the walls are thin and when your neighbor opens his door it sounds like they are coming into your room!!
Absolutely incredible, the room was spacious and it was the largest bathtub I've seen in a Best Western! The breakfast was fresh, delicious, and well serviced. The staff was very friendly and attentive- too bad all Best Westerns can't be like this, I'd never stay any where else.
Very comfy bed, big room and bath. Was clean, and smelled pleasant. There was a pool, exercise room and more however I did not use them. I paid ~130 (tax included) which is a bit high but there's another Best western next door that's cheaper, less luxurious and books very quickly.
I've spent many days and nights at the Best Western Plus Hotel Swiss Chalet & Suites. It's a great place, unique in it's Swiss theme, Great Swimming Pool, Workout Facility is better than most gyms and breakfast is cool too. The staff far exceeds your expectations. If you get a chance, check it out, best around!
Our experience on our stay was awesome, we went to the indoor pool and it was amazing.Perfect atmosphere not many hotels have indoor pools anymore and this one had a awesome one. The hotel was clean and staff was amazing!!
This is by far the place to stay when visiting Pecos Texas. I am here on business and stay in the area often. The Best Western Swiss Chalet has a very friendly staff, large clean rooms and the breakfast is awesome. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
This is by far the BEST Best Western I have ever stayed at. Service is beyond great. Joanne at the front desk went out of her way to try to help us find a place to eat late at night. Really nice accommodations. Even has a car wash on site for the guest. Not sure when I will be in Pecos again, but if I am, I will stay here. Thank you
I simply cannot recommend this hotel enough! Near new, clean spacious, well appointed, about as good as you can ask for in a hotel at a reasonable price. Lesa at the front desk was just a delight to deal with. You cannot go wrong in Pecos staying here.
This was my first stay, and I was really impressed. I had a large room, much better than average furnishings, good bed, good pillows-- the whole place has a new feel. The staff was friendly, polite and efficient. I didn't try the breakfast, but it looked well above the typical.
I can't recommend this hotel highly enough! The beds are super comfy and the bathroom tub is long and deep. The hotel is emaculate. The amenities are great including a heated swimming pool, hot tub and gym. I travel for a living and stay here Monday through Friday. Ask for a Cabana Room...table and chairs just outside the door. Breakfast buffet is amazing.
Checked in at 3am. The front door was unlocked and a staff member greated me politely at the front desk as if it were mid afternoon! I guess I was expecting a less than great experience checking in at that time of night. Our room was great, beds were so comfortable it made me sad to have to leave in the morning. We used the fridge and iron and they both worked great. Watched a little tv while getting ready for the day. Don't have anything to complain about! Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in Pecos.
This hotel is well worth the money. It seems like is has just been built. The rooms are large and comfortable, the pool and gym are far better then some higher priced hotels I have been in. Overall, whether you are just passing through and need a place to sleep, or you are here on business, this hotel will not let you down.
Cross country twice in last four months and this was the best on the road. Great facility and service for the price. Breakfast particularly good for this type of hotel. Don't be fooled by the surroundings. This is a very nice place.
I love this hotel. The property has always been clean and the staff are there to help and super friendly! Defiantly wake up and try the breakfast it's all homemade fresh and amazing food. I promise! I travel for business out in the area and have stayed there for years it's well worth the money spent.
We were returning to Ohio from Arizona and had decided to stop for the night. We saw the Best Western sign and as we are Rewards members we stopped in. From the beginning, the staff was helpful and friendly. The room was excellent. We really enjoyed the pool and spa, as well as the great breakfast. if you are near Pecos, going for a visit or passing through, please consider staying at the Swiss Chalet.
We had been tent-camping during spring break in the windy wilds of west Texas for 3 days. On the third night, we decided to reward ourselves with a shower (you're welcome!) and a nice clean bed. This Best Western did not fail to impress us. The beds and pillows were really comfortable, the breakfast was very tasty and as one previous reviewer said, "real eggs!", for truly, they are the real thing. The kids enjoyed the pool, which is indoors, but in a separate building, so that the hotel lobby does not feel humid at all. Really, while everything else was above par, I felt like the breakfast outshone it all. The woman who seems to be in charge of breakfast was very friendly and helpful. She was quick to replenish the popular food items (bacon, I'm looking at you) and she bussed the tables quickly, taking away plates that we had already finished with while we were still sitting at the table. One small thing -- I have a gluten intolerance and therefore, the scrumptious-looking waffles, the fluffy biscuits, and the toasty bagels were not an option for me. I made myself a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and butter and milk and blueberries...oooo, it looked great! But I didn't realize that the oatmeal was super cold (why isn't the butter melting?). But I'd already gone through the trouble to make it just the way I like it. So, I took the bowl to my room and microwaved it, as I couldn't find a microwave anywhere in the breakfast area, then returned to the breakfast area to eat it with my family. And the nice woman was really busy. So that was probably a no-no, but in the end, the oatmeal was really, really good! The nice woman also takes custom egg orders. I had 2 fried eggs and they were delicious and cooked just right. Our room was very quiet, but we were also on the non-highway side. And even though our third-floor window was directly above the pool area door, I did not notice anyone being loud or anything like that. Our room was right next to the elevators, yet no noise. And it was pretty busy, so there were people there. This is a superior place to stay. If I'm ever anywhere near Pecos, Texas again, I'll be sure to call on them for lodging. Writing this review actually makes me want to go back!
My daughter and grandkids are on a Spring Break Adventure. We were looking for a place to land after an afternoon at Carlsbad Caverns on our way to Monahans State Park. It was about 9 pm when we got here with two tired kids. We pulled in and I asked Corina, the clerk on duty, if there was room for 4 tired people. I told her that I saw the rate on TripAdvisor. We not only got a better rate, but she upgraded us to a suite! I was the kids hero! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, very clean and EVERYONE we have dealt with is super nice. We had an incredible breakfast that came with the room. It was almost like a white tablecloth restaurant. The tables were bussed before we even got up and the food was fresh and yummy. The pool, which the kids took advantage of, is really cool. The only negative is that the wifi is a bit weak ... but we are on vacation so it's not a big issue! In fact we decided to stay another night ... and I joined the Best Western rewards program!! It's Best Western for me!!!
I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel in Pecos, TX. I had to travel there for a funeral. Every staff member was friendly and kind. Breakfast was great. Next time I go that direction, I will stay at this hotel.
Staying in Pecos while working on an archaeological survey in the area. After long, hot, dusty days in the field it was great to have an exceptionally helpful and pleasant staff, great breakfast (real eggs!), reasonable rates, and comfortable room.
this hotel is an excellent choice if you find yourself in Pecos. courteous staff and excellent breakfast with food cooked to order. nice pool and spa and an excellent workout facility. my wife and I travel to Pecos on business and I highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure if you are in the area.
This was the nicest hotel ever! The staff was so sweet and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with breakfast burrito options and fresh fruit salad and much more! Bed was super comfy too! Would love to stay again!
The Best Western wasn't our first choice but turned out to be a pleasant, clean, and convenient motel for the night. Others must have thought so, too, as the 90 or so rooms were nearly fully booked even on a week night. The included breakfast at the restaurant up front was a bit different from the usual in-hotel choices but enjoyable and with excellent coffee and service to the table.
The town of Pecos leaves alot to be desired, but if you stay at this hotel, at least IT won't disappoint (decent restaurants are VERY hard to come by). The King room is well decorated. Colors are soothing and furnishings are neat and in good condition. The sofa is actually comfortable! The bath is spa-like, with an extra-deep tub and tile to the ceiling. There is a pretty pedestal sink in the "wet room", with a lovely, spacious granite-topped vanity just outside. Linens and towels are plush, with a comfy chenille throw on the foot of the comfortable bed. I slept very well. The heat/AC unit in room 307 is quiet and effective (but this is in January, so I can't say how effective when temps are 90-100 outside).
Short and sweet .... you won't find a better hotel for 150 miles in any direction! it is obvious, the Staff and ownership take great pride in keeping the grounds immaculate and the hotel clean. All the amenities you normally expect to get at a hotel, well here, they go above and beyond. For example, a full hot buffet breakfast, with fruit a bar. You can't go wrong here!
My Fiance and I were in a rollover wreck 35 miles north of Pecos on Monday, 12/28/15. When we eventually got a wrecker driver and things situated, we realized that we didn't have a place to sleep. We called this place at the recommendation of the Trooper giving us a ride to wherever we needed to go. I called (at 1:30 AM!!) and explained our situation, they gave us a King suite at a heavily discounted rate, and allowed me to raid their first aid kit, as well as kitchen and toiletry supplies. The next morning, my fiance was able to hitch a ride with someone to Odessa to get a rental car. While he was gone, they brought us fresh towels, replaced the sheets (he bled on them :( ) and brought me a coffee! My Fiance had already booked the room for another night, but we decided to leave when he arrived back at the hotel around 1:30 pm. They ended up not charging us for another night, even though we were well past the check out time. The employees here did a phenomenal job of making us feel welcome, and taking care of us after everything we had been through throughout the previous 24hours. We were on the first floor, but even then, we didn't hear any noise above us, nor did we hear the noise from the breakfast area. There isn't much in Pecos, but the staff here make this a place worth returning to, even though the overall situation wasn't good.
If you find yourself raveling from the Alamo to Carlsbad Caverns plan ti have supper and a snooze in Pecos Texas at the BEST WESTERN SWISS CHALET. A greeting with warm fresh cookies, hot chocolate, coffee and tea said we were in the right place. Spacious accommodations with Coffee maker, fridge, microwave, iron and hair dryer. There is a free laundromat, indoor pool, fitness center and business center. The patio units have gas BBQs for grilling your own dinner. The adjacent restaurant serves thick grilled steaks and pours a local wine "TYexas Red" which accompanies Steak or Salad Bar. Breakfast in the hotel lobby is a feast, by Texas standards. Juices, coffee, tea, milk, hot chocolate, biscuits and gravey, beans sausage, eggs tortillas, enchalada casserole, cinnamon rolls fruit and more will put you back on the road wih litle need for lunch.
We usually avoid Best Western facilities but thanks to TripAdvisor, we booked our stay last night. The hotel was rated as the best in Pecos and it lived up to its reputation. We have been road-traveling for 3 weeks now and this BW+ provided one of the better hotel rooms and at a very fair price. A really comfortable bed with an abundance of good pillow choices, room felt clean, spacious and upgraded, 2 totally separate sink areas made morning showers and dressing preparations pleasant, lots of counters, benches and furniture to put luggage and personal items. It was a pleasure to enjoy freshly scrabbled eggs (rather than the microwaved pretend eggs) along with a full buffet. We had a very good steak & mushroom dinner at the hotel's adjacent restaurant. And, if you go there, ask for Jacob as your waiter... a really good kid with a winning attitude!
Beautiful property. Huge room with separate makeup area with its own separate sink. Wonderfully appointed room and a HUGE Four cup coffee maker and laundry was FREE! Unfortunately breakfast in lobby was delayed due to cook calling in sick and as I didn't have time to go to restaurant I was given 250 bonus Best Western points. REALLY enjoyed my stay
Clean, Comfortable for the money. Breakfast is well done including eggs made to order.... It's not just a continental breakfast. Always fresh baked cookies on the counter at check in Room is clean and well maintained. We found the most comfortable in the area.
Very nice facility with granite countertops, tile floors, 10' ceilings, and reasonably comfortable beds. Hot breakfast was high quality with fresh fruit. Staff were very responsive and friendly. At checkout, I had to flag down the attendant. But it was only a brief wait. Beautiful spiral staircase in main lobby to third floor. I walked it every time to get to my room.
quick check in - had room available at good rate - i was traveling to see Nick and the kids staying for a couple weeks - not sure what else to write here on this blog maybe i should list what i ate for breakfast
In the middle of Pecos, TX you'll find this unbelievable property. You feel like you've walked into a major metropolis. The décor is stunning, great pool facility, breakfast, restaurant and bar on site. Easy access to and from the freeway. The only issue is the GPS takes you to another hotel across the hi-way. Front staff confirmed this is an issue. There are two Best Western's right next to each other. This is the better of the two.
This is a very nice place to stay in Pecos TX. The food at the restaurant and the breakfast is very good. All of the amenities are top notch. I had a good experience and will stay here on my next visit to Pecos.
Front Desk service was excellent I didn't like the breakfast at all and the attitude of the person in charge of the breakfast, the pillows were dirty and little bit stinky I really like the decoration outside and inside
Bed was full of bed bugs. I have a dozen or so ugly bites and pustules when I woke in the morning. Didn't notice them until on was on the road again early the next day. Do NOT stay here unless they have cleaned this up. I stayed in the master suite. This motel was full of oil rig workers and all but one of the rooms were fully booked up. This was the only room available.
Best place in town to get great service and an amazing breakfast!! All the staff is friendly and the setting is so beautiful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. The master suite is highly recommend for families staying here.
The Room was very nice, large with seating area. Room was clean. Beds were above average. Breakfast was very good in a very well lit and open area. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Good rest spot for a long journey!
If you are ever on i20 in west Texas and need a place to stay stop in Pecos, Tx at the Best Western Swiss Chalet. This is a great place to stay with big city feel. As you walk in the front door you see a chandelier and a Spiral staircase all wood trim. The rooms are very nice, beds are comfortable and the breakfast is the best ever. It even has a spot in the back to rinse your car off. I stayed in the master suite and it was beautiful room. It has 2 queen beds and king bed in a separate room. Great for families on the go.
