We have stayed in this hotel before and we chose to return. The welcome on Reception was very good and friendly. We like the location (it's a 20 minute walk into central Padua/Padova) and the parking. The rooms are spacious. The windows open so you can have fresh air. They have electric car chargers and they ensure that these are not blocked by people in combustion engine cars or by electrics which have finished charging. That is very good.
Boring hotel, good breakfast, but nothing more. The pool is closed unless there is a special event. The bar was closed and the patio area was also only in use for events. The apartment had no power plugs for computers although there is a desk for working. Also remember if you want the apartment, you need to rent pots, pans, plates, forks, knifes ect. Otherwise the kithcen is completely empty. Not even a glass.
The hotel are located in walking distance from train station (15 minutes), and you can also walk to the city centre. The hotel have a great breakfast.
Hotel was very nice, clean, staff was very helpful. We had excellent breakfast buffet every morning and it was very close to the centre - walking distance. Definitely recommend.
The photos of the hotel internally is nothing like it is now so don't expect what you see. The staff were exceptional, friendly, accommodating and very helpful. Nothing detrimental on their behalf and our room was clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable.Aircon was ok but doesn't go below 20 so I think the summer temperatures might have a struggle. However! The wellness centre is closed completely. The pool is closed. for private functions only . The bar closes early. Breakfast is …..well the reviews were not wrong. We tried the restaurant….when it was open ( closed during our visit more than once) set menu, costly and …..like the breakfast, lacking in quantity. The bar has no ambience and the chairs are boardroom style and uncomfortable. This is not our first BW hotel stay but it very nearly could be.
It's the typo of hotel where one feels better than at home. The personnel is extremely kind, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is abundant varied and delicious. The bed is comfortable, as well as the bedroom at large. I have already stayed three times at this hotel and Hopefully this won't be the last one.
Unbearably hot room. temperature inside the room hotter than in the hallway. policy of regulating the air conditioning is not compatible with the Italian summer. the receptionist was not very willing to solve the problem. I do not recommend the hotel.
We picked this hotel as it appeared to be ideally placed as a base for travelling around this area. It has a large no charge car park and an additional one underground which is ideal for keeping your car cool. The staff were very helpful supplying us with a map of Padua and showing us where the breakfast room, restaurant etc were. Our room was very spacious with all the accoutrements you would expect, safe, Aircon, nice comfortable bed, the television only had Italian language stations but we didn't go there to watch TV so that was fine. The bathroom was large with walk-in shower, bidet, large sink, etc The main room had a large wardrobe, desk, ample cupboard space, full length mirror, breakfast bar, microwave and dishwasher. Our view was across the river and the city walls towards the town. The breakfast room was quite large and self service with a reasonable choice of foods on offer. We used the restaurant one evening which was fine, not expensive, the staff were helpful and polite even though they had a large group arrive while we were there we still felt unhurried.
Was here with my family for 3 days. We took 2 connected rooms and had a blast. The rooms are sized XXL and there is really a lot of space for you to enjoy you stay here. Staff is nice and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is ok and there is a wellness area as well but we did not used it. Location of this hotel is a little bit outside of the old town but we choose this one since it has a parking area to leave the car. Once you get out of the hotel there is a nice cca 15 min walk alongside the river that takes you directly to the old town.
Have to agree with the previous comment by RSambrook - the hotel used to be a good one and still is in many aspects ( position, breakfast, parking, mattresses, and kindness of the receptionists). However, it is currently in a state of need to be refurbished. Everything works, but the hotel has become old.
Good hotel, polite and helpful staff and great location but the rooms and facilities need proper maintenance. Had a superior room which was spacious but couldn't get the aircon to cool the room seemed to be stuck on 22c and just blew warm air which seemed to be a problem with the thermostat which made sleeping at night uncomfortable. Shower tray was moldy in the corners (but the rest of the room was very clean) paper cups in the room rather than proper ones. Had to ask reception for the robes and slippers that should have been in the room, safe was on the blink as the battery was low. No information in the room. Just lots of little things that should be easily fixed if room maintained properly. Quite noisy but the rooms and windows were well insulated.
Best Western hotels in Italy are usually good. this one is no exception. The room was standard-good. The staff were nice. The only OK thing was their breakfast as the quality of food leaves much more to be desired.
Good hotel what is easy reachable from the autostrada. You can park your car in or near the hotel for free. Facilities in the room and in the hotel are good when you are staying for a short break. The internet in the hotel is also from a good quality. The coffee at breakfast made by the staff is excellent.
When i reached reception there was a customer asking to reception the price about one night and the price was % 15 cheaper than I and its including the breakfast also which mine is non including.( i was just made the booking in couple of hours before by a booking site.) i asked the reception to give me same price and by laughing they said impossible . The room was smelling awful. Also there was a coffe tea part in the room and i used a bottle of water to make a coffe and reception charged 3 euros for small bottle of water. Also no restaurants at hotel on sunday nights. If you are coming from work try to bring some food w you otherwise u have to go to centre which is 20 min walk.shortly this was one of the worst stay in my life.
We have stayed at Best Westerns in many different parts of the world, and I sadly have to say that this was among our least favorite. The property has great potential, but they failed on many of the details. For example: There was mildew on the shower floor. The safe was locked upon arrival. The fitness room had inadequate equipment, including one cable apparatus for all exercises so that a guest would have to wait a long time to get a workout in, a clunky elliptical, and no dumbbells. The swimming pool was closed - and we were not aware of this ahead of time. Breakfast was offered at a discount if we prepaid for it at check-in, but we only had the option to do so for every single day of our stay, even though we knew that we would have to leave before breakfast time on our final morning. The do not disturb light seemed to shut itself off without warning, so that even though we intended for no housekeeping, they came in anyway. (We then made a do not disturb sign by hand to post for the other days.) We were given a room with a full kitchen, but there were no dishes and no cookware, so what was the point? The bathroom mirror light was out. On the positive side, the room was nicely cool and very dark, the bed was comfortable, and the room had ample storage.
We had an apartment at the hotel. There was a small kitchen but no cups, plates or cutlery. The bar was never open and the pool had been emptied. Although clean, the accommodation was basic and reminded us of student accommodation rather than of a hotel.
Great hotel near the centar. The hotel has free parking and a garage for guests, fast internet, smart tv and nice rooms. The breakfeast offers alot of food choice. The location is in the student university area, very safe and nice for a walk near the lake to the centar of Padua.
Staff was very kind. Location of the hotel is OK. 20 min walk from center. You can take a bus or taxi for 10 eur. Room and bathroom were spacious and functional. Breakfast is continental, standard BW style. Free parking in the covered garage. Value for money.
Best Westerns can be truly variable in quality. This was pretty good. We had an "apartment" in the annex and it was big enough, in good shape, nice bathroom and most of all, no problems. Everything worked. They provided free parking. For the rate, it was a good value. We stayed in The Patavium the previous 2 nights in Padua. It is a small boutigue hotel with warm, excellent service and lovely rooms, slightly old fashioned, semi-elegant with a very good breakfast. We would have stayed there instead of coming here, but they had no occupancy and so we had to go. If what you want is inexpensive, modern, perfectly accepatble, but charmless and antiseptic hotels, this is the place for you. I'm a little older now and prefer the somewhat more expensive Patavium for a more enjoyable stay. If a Patavium quality hotel wasn't located in Padua, I would have no problem staying here, as a cheap, sure thing works when there is no better alternative or when the alternative is outrageously more expensive. Take what suits you best.
Hotel Galileo is a gorgeous hotel in the marvellous city of Padua. It's one of the best hotels in Italy, which can't but be praised. As one enters the building for the start of a stay at the hotel and realizes the fabulous atmosphere which reigns inside he gets the clear confirmation that he has made the rightest choice. That feeling is at once endorsed by the welcome given by the personnel working at the front desk, particularly if one has the luck to do the check in with Carlotta, as it was my case. There are no words to describe that lady's charm and extraordinary good manners. The hotel finds itself at about half an hour walk from the historical center of Padua. Notwithstanding that, there is a bus linking both points so that it's possible to go from one to the other in a few minutes. The relevant fare amounts to just 2 euros, and tickets can be purchased at the hotel reception. The bus stop at which one needs get out on the way back is just in front of the hotel entrance. The room I was allocated was very nice and comfortable, not only as far as the bed is concerned but as regards everything being inside. The bed is of course very comfy, the mattress having the right toughness for assuring a good rest. Besides, the bedroom is very peaceful, so that I wasn't disturbed during the time which lasted my stay at the hotel. The whole hotel is, by the way, a calm place, the building being apparently soundproof. The internet connection is very good The breakfast is abundant and also excellent. Everything offered for that meal is of the utmost good quality. The fruits are fresh and a great variety thereof is available. The pastry is recently made to such an extent that sometimes the croissants are still a bit hot. The crammed meat and the scrambled eggs are likewise very tasty. Such a breakfast helps no doubt keep someone going until dinner time. Besides, the room where breakfast is had is clean and pleasant, with the adequate light and with the music at a low volume or with no music at all, something about which one can be grateful. All the staff members are extremely kind, friendly and helpful. Among them however, Carlotta's good qualities are outstanding. Her kindness and friendliness are really precious insofar as they are above the average. She is in fact a polite and charming lady and constitutes no doubt a decisive factor for assessing the hotel goodwill. The other staff members are also very kind and efficient. I needed some help after the check in to carry my baggage to my room, so I went back to the garage. I hadn't yet reached my car when the porter was already there, half the way to it. The room maids are very kind and they perform their duties with much care and conscientiousness. The cleanliness of the hotel in general is outstanding. Despite all the excellencies referred to above, the hotel isn't expensive at all. The price is roundabout half the amount one usually pays for a stay at a hotel of the same standards. One really wonders how it can be so cheap, and it's not easy to find the answer. The breakfast, for instance, is an extra cost of only 5 euros for each person. It's worth paying such a low sum and have thus the possibility to enjoy the superb breakfast offered at the hotel. Hotel Galileo is therefore a recommendable place to stay in Padua. Staying there not only lets one have a fantastic accommodation at a great price but makes him increase the enjoyment of being in that beautiful and fabulous city.
Clean and comfortable room. Noisy road, but good windows to allow you sleep well. Great gym (open 24h). Very good breakfast buffet and kind staff. Is not downtown, but everything can be reached within walking distance (including the train station too).
Really disappointed especially with it being a plus hotel. Rooms very basic and poorly decorated. Beds uncomfortable. Air conditioning did not cool the room at all. Power tripped every time tried to use their iron they provided. Breakfast was terrible with poor choice and quality and awful atmosphere. Will not be returning
I stayed at Best Western Plus Hotel Galileo Padova for a university meeting. I enjoyed my stay and the staff was incredibly welcoming. The breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations, coffee was very good and there are many options.
1. room 306: air conditioning defect? I could not set it to 19 degrees at night (lowest possible was 21 deg. Celsius) - for me too warm. windows could be opened, but then it was REALLY LOUD. 2. at booking Tesla destination charging confirmed, but ONLY AT Check-In informed, that it will be charget at 30€ (thirty €) per use. at 7Kw pretty expensive and unfair in terms of timimng
Select a city view room. Do not forget to open the heater in bathroom manually. Breakfast is served by staff. Remember to book your car parking before arrival, and if you are late to come, you can call the reception to open the gate remotely.
My wife and I stayed 2 nights in this hotel on our way to Croatia. We were looking for a nice town without the hassle of getting in and out a big city like Venice which has difficult parking at best. We have been to Venice several times and while a lovely place not something we wanted on this driving trip. Padua is a bit of a gem. Small but has a neat center that is overlooked because of Venice. The hotel was very good. We can not really fault it for anything. Not luxury but very, very nice. Room size - nice and plenty of room for two Bathroom - modern and tasteful Breakfast - plenty and staff very accommodating despite the COVID-19 restrictions. Parking - Easy in and out, safe and best of all included in the price WIFI- good and consistent Refrigerator and kettle-provided and nice. The hotel is an easy 5 -8 min walk to city center. Definitely recommend and will be back. Hopefully the pool and spa will be open next time.
Super spacious room as well as bathroom, all very clean, super good location to get into the city center by walk (20 minutes). We arrived with two scooters, parking was free of charge in the garage, open privat parking at the hotel also available. Next time in Padua, we would book the same again. If you want decide for breakfast in the morning, the price for it is double (10,- instead of 5,- Euros p.p, p.d.)
Quick stay in Padova, found last minute offer. The room was in the apartment side of the hotel so also had a kitchen corner. Due to restrictions no swimming pool or gym were available. Staff was friendly.
Breakfast satisfactory, Some of that crisp Italian bread in the bakeries would have been nice. The coffee was excellent as everywhere in Italy. Room immaculately clean.Unfortunately the mini fridge was shut off.Hotel is good jumping off point for visit to Venice. Padua's historic centre is only 15 minute bus ride away or 25 minutes on foot.
Very friendly and helpful staff, rooms clean and good breakfast for 5 Euros. My only negative is they wanted us to reuse towels and have short showers and generally try to be green, whilst they put disposable polystyrene style cups with the morning drinks tray and cups wrapped in plastic in the bathroom.
We were two families with small kids. they gave us connected rooms and our kids had a lot of fun. Our rooms were on the appartments site of the hotel with kitchenete very usefull. The breakfast was very nice with lots of options. Our stay was trouble free and im sure i will go again.
Just a 5 minute walk from the fiera this made our visit to the show Auto & Moto D'epoca a breeze. Immaculate room only marred by tricky air-con. The breakfast was a revelation, not the usual prepacked brioche and dry serials - no fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, ham, cheese the works and great coffee and polite service.
This is a bright, modern hotel with stylish decor. The rooms are well-equipped and very comfortable. The buffet breakfast for €5 was excellent value. Situated on the outskirts, it's about 20-30 mins walk into the old city centre. A good option for a brief visit to Padova.
We were exploring good options close to the railway to visit Venice. We were 10 minute walk to terminal for a train into Venice. We spent the day in Venice before our short train ride back to the hotel. It was a great stay with a lovely breakfast.
Can't say that I liked much of anything about this hotel except maybe the large bathroom with good lighting. The air conditioning didn't work and street noise was terrible so no sleeping happening here. The WiFi (not secure ) was awful and you have to reconnect every time you return to the hotel. The staff messed up my computer while trying to help me get online, then denied doing it. The room was small for two people, the bed uncomfortable, pillows were like wafers, towels so thin you could see through them, bathroom amenities were minimal. The breakfast (check the price before you commit ) was routine with a lot of empty platters that never got refilled. There is no complimentary water in the lobby or in the room. The hotel is a long way from the old town and there are no restaurants nearby.
Thought our room was big and cosy. Didn't like the fact that they had foam cups for making tea and coffee. Very flimsy and let the room down. The air conditioning only goes down to 19 degrees so can't get cool, and as there was extreme noise from a heavy metal band a cross the road in the park we had to sweat it out with the windows shut. The beds are big but too hard. We had breakfast for 4 euros each which was reasonable. The dining area was very busy and noisy and we had to hang around till people left to grab a table. The buffet was filled with lots of fruit, yoghurt, breads and cakes and a small cabinet with luke warm hotdog sausages, bacon and small omelettes. Was quite a stressfull experience. Everyone rushing around and pushing in for food. Trays would be helpful. Swimming pool looked inviting but we didn't use it because they charge 15 euros each, per day. Travelling to and from the train station is quite expensive if you go by taxi but the bus is OK. Its quite a walk to the town centre when your walking is not that good. And as for the restaurant, it is overpriced and the food was basic and cold.
Great value for the service and facilities the hotel provide. We stayed in the junior suite, it was very spacious and clean. Late check out was also offered. All in all, given the hotel proximity to Venice, this hotel provides great value. It is only 3 bus stop away from the PADOVA main train and bus station, and there is a bus stop right outside of the hotel. Breakfast was simple but with a decent variety. At 4EUROS, you should not complain. Was particular happy with the service at check in with Nicolas and the manager Christine. I would say the only downside was the air conditioning in the room - it was rather warm (lowest was 19C). We are not particularly sure of the swimming pool hygiene either as all of us all came back with some skin rashes and irritations after use. All in all, will definitely return again.
I stayed 3 nights in this Hotel. The hotel is very nice, the rooms are nice and clean and breakfast great. No problem you would say but there must be something wrong with the management there. I choose this hotel for the nice swimming pool and the possibility to charge my Tesla. In the booking.com site is mentioned that the swimming pool is extra costs but not mentioned how much. The reception told me 15 euro per time which is crazy. My Tesla I could not charge the two Tesla destination chargers were claimed to be broken. I took my own charger and needed only a 220 plug. After 2 days asking without a a solution other than that I can recharge somewhere else but impossible when you do not have a contract with that recharge point which I don't have. So no solution given. Day 3 I demanded a solution All of a sudden the rechargers were repaired (Tesla Padova did not know anything about a repair so most probably that they were broken is a lie and to get rid of me they charge extreem) and the price of a single charge is the the crazy price of 30 euro. The great breakfast was only 4 euro and I said when I checked in that I wanted that. I had to leave at 6.00 so checked out the day before and I mentioned and mentioned not to use the breakfast which starts at 7.00 Of course it is not about the 4 euro's but it is very strange that the staff was instantly willing to make a fight and I could choose between 3 times 4 euro or the individual rate of 10 euro per day which would make it 20 euro said the lady with a sarcastic smile. I mentioned that I am going to mention this the way I do now but she did not care at all. It is surprising how such a nice hotel can give a guest a bad experience by all hidden costs and rude behaviour af the staff.
The room was clean and large, the bed comfortable. Easy parking at the hotel. A bit out of town, but easy drive in to town. breakfast add-on was only 4 euros per person and excellent value, with a full coffee bar
Stayed overnight on business, hotel chosen and booked by the company I was visiting. A modern hotel with no charm whatsoever. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. There was only a stool for the dressing table/desk, not pleasant to work. Wifi seemed very slow. Only one lift was working so it took ages to get up to the room. The restaurant is reached by going outside down an alley. It was raining heavily so I got soaked both ways. Food and service were OK. Breakfast was not pleasant. A long counter included various tinned fruits, breads, cold sausages and hard boiled eggs and a single coffee maker, meaning that there was always a queue to get a drink.
Everyone working here was very friendly from the moment we checked in. They gave us all the necessary information about the town and restaurants nearby. The breakfast is amazing (don't forget to try the panettone). The room was spacious and there is a great gym and wellness&spa downstairs. If you arrive by car there is a private garage but you have to book your parking space before you arrive. All main attractions are in walking distance. All in all, great value for money.
Positive: super-friendly and helpful staff. The room, however, was located in the annex and smelled a bit odd (like old cigarette smoke perfumed over). The room was clean, but bleak and not very inviting. Breakfast was inexpensive, but offered mostly sweet items. Location is not ideal for exploring the historic city center (15-20 min walk to get to its rim).
We stayed in the aparthotel BW Galileo for two nights. The positive is a parking available free of charge and check in was quite fast. The hotel location is not far from the city center. About the negatives: Upon arrival to the room we found the door completely open with the lights on. There were no towels in the bathroom, TV did not work and there were no kitchenware (why do we need the kitchen in the room then??). The sofa was quite dirty and all the room looked untidy. After the call at the reception they brought the towels and fixed TV, however refused to change the room. Next morning we realized that the hairdryer and safe did not work as well and asked the receptionist to send someone to fix it asap as we wanted to leave the room. Nothing happened after two hours. We came to the reception and repeated the request which was written down by the lady with a promise to fix everything asap. So even in the evening the safe and hairdryer did not work. The breakfast menu is quite poor for 4* hotel (even comparing to the same chain 3*hotel in Genoa). The waitresses are slow in cleaning the tables after the guests therefore it's difficult to find a clean table. Dear management of the hotel would you be so kind to provide the guests with the minimum what you declare in the booking reservation and work with your team to make them react properly on the guests' requests.
Choose thia hotel due to reason that after long driving trip will be nice to relax with my family and continue our trip to Switzerland. On the reception was very nice and welcome lady. We choose family room that is really nice and clean and it is made from 2 rooms. Great deal Then we move for dinner into restaurant and over there we get disappointed. Ordering 4 different meals: steak, lasagne, pasta with tomato and pasta with mushrooms. From this meals lasagne was best (score 3) and tomato pasta was ok score -3, other two meals have been big disappointment. Waiters nearly don't know 1 word of English what is not so nice for restaurant. Visiting swimming pool it was unbelievable a lot Chlorine into pool water. This is higher concentration of Chlorine we ever notice in any swimming pool. Breakfast was ok.
I stayed at this hotel for one week. it is a 20 minute walk to the train station and near the local University. I stayed in the hotels larger room with kitchen. the staff were helpful arranging for taxi etc. the room was relatively clean, althought the chairs in the hotel room were harder than a rock...no cushioning. I recommend getting the breakfast for 4 euro per day upfront when you check in.......be at breakfast no later then 7am.
We enjoyed our 5 night stay at this hotel and found it a great base for exploring Padua and for day trips to Venice. We had a very nice suite with 2 bedrooms, bath and sitting area/kitchenette at a very fair price. The bus stop is right outside and the very frequent #10 bus brings you to the train station quickly .From the train station there are plentiful ,quick and inexpensive trains to Venice which will get you there in under an hour(or half that time for the fast train at only 9+Euros). The breakfasts were good and we also ate twice at their restaurant which was very good. Since we had a car parking was a major reason we booked there. The parking area was spacious, free and right next to the hotel. We would definitely stay again at this hotel. It is literally right next door to the University and a short walk to the historic areas with plazas ,shops and restaurants.
As a big hotel chain, we got what we wanted- good quality rooms, with balcony. The staff was ok. Good parking, far from shopping area by foot. About 15 minutes walk to the center. Perfect location for outside trips around the area.
This is a nice hotel with great services and walking distance to the old town center of Padova. Rooms are all very nice and recently renovated. Great breakfast and a nice bar in the evenings. This is very close to the university. Padova is a town located just west of Venice and conveniently on the train line for a inexpensive and effeciant way to get to Venice and avoid traffic and hassles. A ticket for 3 on the train which is dead simple is 12 Euros so 4 per person one way. Many times to this region and many times at this hotel. It can save you hundreds in the summer when a comparable hotel in Venice proper may cost you 3 times as much.
This hotel was our base in Padova while we were exploring this relation of Italy. It was a great base-a 15 minute walk from the train station. The number 10 bus is frequent and stops right outside the main front door. To get the bus to the train station, cross the road and walk just past the large BMW garage and you can catch it there. The bus back to the hotel was handy after a long day of exploring some of the nearby cities (Florence, Venice, Verona etc). One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because I had read a number of reviews stating that you could have breakfast here for 4 euros per day. When we checked in for our 7 night stay we were told this was only the case if you paid upfront for breakfast for the whole duration of the stay, which wouldn't work for us as some days we were leaving the hotel very early to spend the day in another city. Breakfast on individual days was 10 euros. I also chose this hotel because of the spa which we didn't end up using because there were too many other great things to do in the area. The hotel itself and the bedrooms were very clean. The bedroom and bathroom were both big and there was lots of wardrobe space. The air con worked well. Surprisingly (for a hotel in Europe) there was a kettle with tea, coffee and milk in the room which was great. The bar was nice with reasonably priced drinks and snacks. Beware on a Sunday that hardly anything is open for food but there were some cold snacks on the bar which were free -a nice touch, but we wanted something a bit more substantial as we hadn't eaten much all day, so ordered a toastie. Not great for your main meal of the day, but it was ok. Hotel has plenty of parking and free WiFi in all areas. I would recommend it.
This hotel is basically just a place to sleep. Nothing fancy about it, but it's clean, quiet and has a decent buffet breakfast for 4E. It's also just a 20 minute walk to the train station along a busy street.
This is a nice newer hotel within walking distance to the Capella degli Scrovegni. The air conditioner worked well to cool the room. I appreciated the free parking. The only complaint and it is minor, is the reception desk employees. Three young women were working at the front desk when I arrived early afternoon on the 4th of September. There was one customer being helped but none of the young ladies, greeted me. They ignored me with frowns on their faces, as I stood there waiting. Thankfully another woman came out and asked to help someone who had just walked up without realizing I had been waiting. I spoke up and she was very attentive offering to check me in. We had wine in the bar that night and the bartender was very professional and cordial. Best Western needs to train the young employees with proper customer service. I am a Best Western card holder and have never experienced this lack of respect in the US.
loved the Hotel, I had a group of 28 pax checking in late at night, the staff was super helpful and in 15 mins flat we had rooms for all the guests, we had been allocated the rooms in the anex building and the rooms were spacious with extra bed and a small kitchenette. centrally located to IKEA store and other shopping outlets.
This is a great hotel, with super friendly & helpful front desk staff. It is located a little out of town, but was perfect for me as only a short taxi ride away The hotel has a well stocked bar, & nice pool area
This hotel seems little isolated from the major popular destinations and Padova's attractions. However, it has a parking lot so it might be convenient for visitors with their own car. Wanted to use their spa, but couldn't as it closes at 6 pm (before I checked in). Prearranged breakfast cost 4 euros and it is worth it (otherwise would be 10 euros). No coffee/tea in the rooms (kitchen is fully equipped). Staff is professional
This hotel is a modern tower block business type of hotel - very busy - staff were professional - secure parking - rooms were clean and comfortable, but the whole place was a bit souless - but ok if you're in Padua on business - quite a long flat walk into the city through a rough'ish part of town, so I would recommend getting a cab into see what sights Padua has to offer.
The hotel is really nice. Very good and comfortable rooms, kind service, free parking and fair price. But: - a little bit too isolated. On a Sunday evening it was really hard to find somewhere to have dinner. Even the restaurant kind of linked to the hotel was closed. - breakfast poor. both in quality and options. - SPA not in good conditions, many of the water appliances didn't work. - Be aware that just across the street there is a park with some music shows. If there is any of them when you are staying there, and your room faces the park, it will be difficult to sleep until the show is finished.
This is a no frills hotel with just the basic amenities. Good enough for an overnight stay. Too bad when we arrived, the spa was already closed and we did not get to use it. Having said that, was also surprised to learn that there is a charge to use the spa even if one is a hotel guest. There being little food options in the vicinity, was glad that the bar opens till late and serves sandwiches and cakes. A little park opposite the hotel is a good spot for a morning walk if one so desires.
We stayed in the apart hotel adjoining the main hotel. Spacious room with large double bed and a sofabed. The waitress Marta was very good and very helpful. Felt a bit ripped off with the pool and spa as we had to pay 15 euros each just to use the pool. The massage for 60 euros was very poor. Breakfast was ok. Didn't try the restaurant. 20 minute walk along the river to get to the centre.
We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon, and it was a nice hotel but the breakfast was disappointing. The staff were amazing but what made it so great was the spa. €15 each for access to all the facilities, and I also had a massage. It was so relaxing and very reasonably priced. Overall the hotel was nice but standards were just slightly less than 4 star.
breakfast spread was really good, & you can get the staff at the entrance counter to make you fantastic coffee. parking could be tough if you get back late & there is some conference or corporate event happening in the hotel. feel free to cut through the grounds of the unversity next door if you're headed that direction to walk the city. for some reason the airconditioning in the room was just not working even though the thermostat read 22 degrees so i was sweating every morning as the sun came up.
Best Western should not be advertising a pool at this hotel if guests can't access it - they are misleading customers. We booked this hotel specifically for the pool - our kids love swimming. The pool is hardly open. When it was open, it seems to be booked out for external classes - guests can't use at this time. We managed to find 30 minutes to use the pool - we waited (and waited) for the class to get out; the spa charged the full day rate. When I spoke to the front desk re the cost for 30 mins, they disowned the pool and spa saying it's a different entity - so the front desk were not empowered to fix a customer complaint regarding spa... nor did they really care. This was a bad advert for Best Western.
I'm in a difficult situation. The hotel has 4 stars. The room we got was weak 3 star. It's true that the Aparthotel is part of the hotel. But! There were 2 plastic cups in the room (in the bathroom) nothing else. True, there was bed. We ask for a French bed, but it is not a French bed that we put two couches next to each other, which is constantly slicing. On the beds under the sheet, there is a plastic cover. Uncomfortable, you sweat it. So, deep disappointment. I'll go back to Padua, but never to this hotel. I do not give up on anybody at the Aparthotel. I'm sorry, I think I did not feel right there. Breakfast is poor. The second day was just sliced bread. Already dry when I put the bread in toast. The omelet was very bad
This hotel comes with some good and bad points. The staff were all helpful and friendly, the hotel is fairly clean and my room (I booked the Comfort Room) was of good size and well furnished. Rooms to the Via Venezia front are very noisy but my room to the river side was quiet enough. The restaurant offers poor quality food at high prices and has no atmosphere. The breakfast (not expensive at € 4.00) is buffet style but most offerings are a tad on the cheap side, such as canned fruit, watery juices, anaemic sausages etc.. While many hotels charge as much as € 17 for a buffet b/fast, this one could charge € 8 and supply fresher and tastier food. As a Premium client, they asked an additional € 15 to use the Spa / Pool. I thought this very stingy. A 1 ltr bottle of water was € 8, a total rip off. This is why I rate this hotel "average".
Clean, quiet and spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, good location, huge free parking lot, the pool is 15€. They could work on the AC system, it was very hot and the AC didn't work very good.
Visited while on business trip, rooms clean and spacious, underground free parking. Staff was friendly, at breakfast I had the best coffee, learned that my preference is Latte Macchiato, the barrister that made this great coffee made sure that you get the right name of the coffee. Sleep was good, Location I have to admit don't really know I did just hotel-office-hotel and that with the car, following the navigation system, so didn't had the opportunity to tour Padua.
Stayed at the Best Western Galileo in Padua for a business trip and have to say it was ok. Good things in favour are the ambient of the hotel and the fact that it's just 20 min walk from the city historical centre. Decent but not great breakfast and good service overall. Bad things are the noise from other rooms. The hotel itself is very quiet but on a 4 star hotel you shouldn't have to listen to the shower and ventilation from the room next door. Also and I don't why nobody actually changed this but the TV that's it's literally opposite the bed attached to the wall, has a clock that emits a strong blue light which when you are asleep really affects you. Once again not something you should expect on a 4 star hotel. It is however good value for what it offers so overall I will give a 3 star.

I express huge gratitude to administration of hotel for removals of armor without penalties less than in 24 hours, on family circumstances. I fly to Italy often, and I will surely stay in this hotel. Prior to new meetings
Good room, good bar and restaurant, about 20 minute walk to city center. Kind, attentive staff. Would recommend to you, and would stay there again. Nothing outstanding, but a solid thumbs up, as I could find nothing to criticize.
OK, this hotel has several good things going for it. Firstly, it is just outside the adorable downtown area of Padua. Easy to get to. It was clean and had everything you needed. The only frustration was the ability to change Euro bills into coins which were necessary to tip and use the bus etc. The staff appeared to care less if you couldn't get change. Get change in the restaurant on site. It had good food, service and delightful carafes of good house wine (Malbec). The bar was also a good place for a libation and gathering with friends. Rooms were very clean and if it had a little better lighting in the bathroom, it would be even better. Bed was very comfortable and room was quiet. All good.
It was an okay hotel, although you can hear a lot of noise from the other rooms. Be aware that the hotel charges 7 Euros per head to use their pool, which is often not useable due to water aerobics classes. The fitness center is okay, but 3 of the 6 machines were broken when we were there and the space was limited as oddly personal trainers were there with clients, a bit irksome.
Very nice hotel with a beautiful garden. The rooms are clean and big! the hotel is located near the shopping streets (10 minutes walk). Modern hotel and good service from the reception. Recommended if you are going to Padua!
We took the last room, the premium suite. We were tired and just needed a shower and a bed. Its like a full apartment with a big living room and terrace. breakfast was great and i can fully recommend. Price a little on the higher side but being death tired we enjoyed.
We were touring (by car) in Northern Italy and chose this hotel because it was easy to get to from the Autostrada, had free parking and was a 10-15 minute walk from the station (for getting to Venice). As it was, not only did it tick all these boxes but it went beyond our expectations. It is a modern (slightly dull looking) building but the facilities are very good. Our room was big, spotless and very well equipped and comfortable. For those that worry about it, the wifi worked well. The breakfast was a bargain at 4 euros (excellent choice buffet) and the in house restaurant perfectly acceptable. The service was excellent (and fluent in many languages, including English). Venice was very easy to get to (8.30 euros return) with plenty of trains. But Padova itself was also well worth spending time in - the city centre is about 20 mins easy walk from the hotel - with the Giotto frescoes, excellent art galleries and museums and Cafe Pettrochi to visit (to name but a few). Our deal also included the use of the gym/pool. Great location. Great value.
Rather than haul your luggage over bridges, down narrow crowded streets, and onto a boat taxi; consider staying at this great Best Western hotel where you can walk or take a short taxi ride to the train station and visit Venice. Then, return and enjoy a genuine 4 star hotel experience including a complete spa (sauna, whirlpool, pool, steam room, massage, pedicure, etc.). My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it!
We have stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. it was great, There are underground parking, 24 hours gym, they do also have a cafe / bar place. Very close to the train station (15-20 minutes walk) and shopping center (30 minutes) walk. i would stay again in this hotel, and recommended as well... Great Staff at the reception, very prompt friendly and helpful.
Located outside the city core with views from the upper floors. Rooms are large, comfortable and neat. Breakfast basic for 4 euros. Staff helpful. Great choice of TV channels with different languages and fast internet. Worth the money On the minus side city transport is restricted to this area.
I expect comfortable rooms in a Best Western Premier Hotel and I comfirm this in Padova. But the quality of the food and the service during the breakfast is very bad. This is absolutely not comparable with the decilicious quality of the breakfast I experienced in the Best Western Premier in Weimar a few years ago.
We had 5 nights in this hotel and it was exactly what we needed - breakfast was great and the rooms are large and comfortable. The gym in the hotel is clean and cool. The hotel restaurant is fantastic - we had one of our best meals here!
Friendly staff, excellent value, nice views from rooms, short distance to San Antonio Basilica and City Center. Ample and comfortable rooms, very fast Internet. Swimming pool and spa available for an extra fee.
A really nice room with balcony (recommend no. 204 on the corner of the building thus facing south (continuous sun) and views in two directions), a big bathroom (even if it did have the occasional rather bizarre and impractical Italian "mod" design feature), a great staff on the reception who were always eager to help, a really wonderful restaurant attached (one of the best meals I can remember!) and lovely pool with wellness service with a great garden for sunning oneself. All (so far) therefore really good and would recommend it 100% .... but do, please bear in mind my comment below. Even better on arrival that we were told that we were only being charged 4 Euros each for breakfast...(as opposed to 9-10 euros in Germany). But then the realities of Italy seriously hit us! It is perhaps unfortunate that I am old-fashioned and consider a gentlemanly, relatively peaceful breakfast as being the essence of a good hotel but as a teacher, I would have had a rather more relaxing experience in my school canteen at lunch-hour. To me, it was almost a "bun fight", in a room which, (while being highly practical for management and swift cleaning) had an ambience and welcome with less character than my school's exam hall. The staff worked really hard but found it tough going and if you turned up at 9.40 (20 minutes before the deadline at 10am), you were unlikely to get the food one wanted since they had run out. I accept that this may be a cultural problem and that Italians may not rate breakfast as important but I can only remember a worse breakfast experience in 40 years and that was in down the road in Verona. Suffice to say that seldom have I felt so much like a member of a cattle herd being driven off to market. The real problem here is that being 25 minutes' walk from the city centre, it is probably a 15 minute walk to the next best competition so there is not much one can do apart from accepting the inevitable. Come on, Best Western! You are seriously letting down a) an otherwise great hotel and b) the efforts of your very competent staff. You can do so much better here!
We stayed here as part of a cycling tour. We like walking. It's outside the city walls and on the edge of the university/ conference and exhibition area so is ideal for that. It's a twenty to thirty Minute walk to the centre of town though which is fine for us but may not be for others. They do get you a taxi very quickly. It does have good facilities, the rooms are spacious by Italian standards and the staff are friendly and helpful
We needed a hotel not too far from Venice airport.from Venice airport..(about 45 mins away). My colleague required a room with a balcony (smoker) this hotel has large outside terraces. Reception were very helpful in accomodating us. Free onsite parking and free wifi. Breakfast was included BUT the place was a shambles, very noisey and busy...not a good start to the day. Reception staff very helpful and friendly.
Luckily, we had only 2 nights in that hotel: - Rooms were large, but clearly not well cleaned. We found left clothes from the previous guests in both (!) of the rooms we had. The air condition was too weak for the summer time! In one room, the shower was defect and in the other room, bath gel was empty when we arrived and neither refilled the day after. - During breakfast, knifes were not in stock and only after several requests and long time, the kitchen delivered some few knifes from the dishwasher - these 6 (!) knifes were taken immediately from the waiting guests and the whole story started again. Spoons obviously have been completely out of stock and only plastic spoons have been available for breakfast all days. Tables in the breakfast room were sticky and creasy. Watching the personal during their "cleaning" of the place mats explained that inacceptable result. - The pool opened first at 2 pm, in contrast to the opening hours on the hotels internet pages. The internet pages about the pool opening, however, have been from 2015 and obviously not updated. Although we knew in advance about the extra price for the pool, it is not a good service for hotel guests. - In total: this hotel lacks of everything what a guest expects from a "4 star Best Western Premium". That concerns not only the house itself, but also the people and service there. Never, ever again!!
We stayed in this hotel twice for one night each, and we were allowed to leave our car and excess baggage there for several days in between without charge. The hotel is very convenient for catching il Burchiello for the canal trip to Venice, although hotel staff was not aware that the place to board il Burchiello had been moved. Other than that important point, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, quiet, and modern. Free parking was available on site. The one downside was a lack of restaurants nearby, except for one attached to the hotel.
There is nothing I can say positive about this hotel. The one and only reason I decided to stay here was because my eleven year old son wanted to stay somewhere with a pool after traveling for a month. I booked the hotel through Priceline and upon arriving I was not put in the main hotel I was placed in the rundown connected building which is more like studio apartments then a hotel not that big of a deal but look at the picture of the wall below. So instead of going and seeing Padova my son want to enjoy the pool!! We make are way down to the pool mind you isn't in the actual hotel building and when we arrive at the door it doesn't open? A little perplexed I notice the sign that says go downstairs to the spa to use the pool..... ok so we make are way down there and the woman at the counter looks us up and down and says your not wearing your robes it's required to use the pool. I explain are room doesn't have any bathrobes in it should there be? At this point she asks for my room number and tells me that the pool is not free it is 15 euro a person!!!!! What? Are you serious? This is a best western do you think this is a J.W. Marriot? Oh wait I'm platinum elite with Marriott and have never been charged to use a pool in my life. So I go up to speak to the hotel manager and she offer to let me use the pool oh wait no she doesn't she says too bad no pool unless you pay $30 euro! I then explained that I would prefer to leave the only reason I was here was the pool she was so kind to explain to me that I could leave of course but she was charging me for all of the days I reserved no matter what. So this is why I decided to write in detail of my absolutely horrific experience at this hotel and I recommend no one else getting caught in the scheme to charge for a pool that is listed on Priceline as an amenity with no mention of a charge for use.
We stayed 1 night in this hotel in our pilgrimage in Padua. This hotel is nice, clean, trendy with all amenities. Wifi connection was perfect. The location is also nice. There is a parking lot availble. Breakfast was included and was good, with all you could desire. The restaurant is also very nice clean and good. The overall service was very good and I strongly recommend this hotel.
Great hotel, New, very organized. Big and cleany rooms, not so near from the City centre but you can go walking. Full and delicious breakfast. Polite staff near the central station. I'll certainly come back.
If you want to be nickel and dimed for everything this is your place. Breakfast 4€ each? Ok, no problem. Went down to the pool at 6:30PM and they said it closes at 7:00PM ok. Then they tell us it's 8€ each to use the pool for 30 minutes? Absurd. It's far from the city center and you need to take a bus. If I knew we were going to be charged for the pool I would have stayed at the Crown Plaza for way cheaper. Bad pick. Good news is that my expectations are pretty low now.
Nice rooms and a decent location. About a 20 minute walk from the train station. An easy walk with our backpacks, but if it's hot or you travel heavy you'll need to take a cab. The front desk staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. The rooms clean, quiet, and modern. The breakfast buffet was fresh, hot, tasty and woefully understaffed. Food items were constantly running low, customers asked for assistance and some of the staff, who were working their butts off, were testy and, to one lady near me, downright rude. That being said, I would stay there again because of the location, price, and quality of sleep. Just leave yourself plenty of time in the morning.
Not particularly cheap for a weekend stay in what is obviously a business hotel - but good family room set up: two rooms with adjoining door. Comfy beds. Hotel is a very pleasant (riverside, pedestrianised) 20 minute walk from northern end of the historic center of Padua and equal walk to train station. Breakfast buffet is pretty average. Good place for joggers to stay as riverside tracks on doorstep. Swimming pool is a slightly ridiculous spa affair for couples to canoodle in. There is outside sunbathing area - photo is in center of Padua.
Modern hotel with very well appointed rooms and of a high quality. Room was clean and very comfortable and bar area extremely friendly and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Overall a great place to stay for a business visit, and close enough for an evening in the old part of the city.
Booked this hotel for spa facilities but when we arrived we were told the spa opens at 12pm in Sunday. This is not displayed on the site booked. No room service, again a late arrival with no room service. The nearest restaurant hard to find had and when we finally reached was already closed. If you have a late arrival make sure you organise dinner before check-in. Breakfast dull.
The accommodation is good even in the small apartments, but the restaurant is above average. A very good pick for business and leisure. For a longer stay I would advise the apart hotel. And it's cheaper than a regular room.
I stayed in this hotel during last week of October 2016 The decor resembled 1970,s nouveau art scene and looked shabby and dated. The hotel staff were unapproachable and unfriendly. The breakfast was stale and cappuccino was served cold and the breakfast staff were more interested in chatting up young women than doing their jobs. definitely, not somewhere that I would stay again.
Good location, easy parking. About 15 minutes' walk to city centre, 5 minutes to the Fiera. Rooms are good size, had a kettle but no coffee or tea! Fan in bathroom only worked sporadically so it was a bit like being in a sauna. Cooked breakfast very poor for a 4 star hotel - greasy bacon, awful omelettes. Rest of breakfast was ok. Staff helpful. Wifi rather eccentric- kept dropping out and needed several attempts to sign back in. Poor value if you get caught with high prices that apply when there's an event at the Fiera.
I chose this hotel because of the location, very near from the trade show, and it was perfect. As a best western member I had the super upgrade and had the luxury suite. Almost way to much comfort for a business purpose but who could complain ? The SPA of the hotel was included with my room and I must say that a hotel's SPA it was one of the best I ever tried. I really recommend this hotel even if the breakfast is not good as should be a 4 stars hotel.
This hotel is probably more suited to business/conference guests and individuals staying for just one night. The compact wardrobe is seriously lacking in hanging and storage space, especially for anyone wishing to wear a dress. The hotel has a self service laundry, particularly useful for individuals on long tours, but the tokens proved to be in short supply and very difficult to purchase from reception. Breakfast is a frenetic experience. Check if you have included the costs of using the pool and leisure facilities with your booking as these are additional. Also check the opening times as they may not suit your schedule and or availability.
Nice Hotel, especially if you get a room on the 2nd floor to the back (201,202,203 etc) as they have a big terrase and a facing a canal so it is nice and quite. Breakfast is nothing special but it is reasonably priced. If you are not a very sportive person, it is not walking distance to the old city center.
Staying 100+ nights per annum in hotels allows me to make a fair judgement on any hotel. Check in did not provide WiFi, which I had to call for after. Restaurant was only basic food level I could get anywhere in the world. What I was most annoyed with was a Gym that had NO water, no towels of cleaning equipment. I have never stayed in a hotel that dud not provide water. When I complained at reception, they had no water either, and told me to go use my own mijibar water. I will never use this hotel again. It has nothing to offer a Business traveller
Went to Padua for a wedding and was skeptical to stay in a local hotel in this area so I opted to stay in a chain name hotel. Breakfast was awesome, had lots of choices, fresh fruit, juices and bakery items. Had an amazing in door pool but unfortunately couldn't make it during the times it was open. A short distance from public transportation and walk to University. If you are older, easier to take taxi to main town as us a short drive but can be a 15-20 min walk. Clean and corpora le beds. Bathrooms were spotless and very large. Installed in a business room and loved the extra space since my husband and I both had large suite cases. Only negative was that it's located on the outskirts of downtown area per se so if you are looking for things to do at night you will need to walk for a few minutes. Went to the university bars around the area????. Nothing close to eat walking distance, maybe a Mc Donald's 6 min away.
Free parking and free wi-fi, this hotel is clean and comfortable and serves a large selection at breakfast. Everyone seems to be friendly and there is a swimming pool on the ground floor. Shower is large and modern. Check in; staff will explain location and there is a free tourist map. 15 minute walk into historic centre of Padua and shops. Railway station is also a 15 minute walk away from hotel and from here it is a 20 minute train ride to Venice. Trains to Venice cost 4.20€ one way.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and truly enjoyed it. Our room was a studio flat at the other building next to the main one and it was clean and tidy. The service was really and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great as it is 10-15 minutes walk from town. Breakfast was good with a big variety and quite cheap at 3 euros per person a day! They have a swimming pool on site which can be used at an extra cost of 8 euros a day and you SHOULD have flip flops or they give you a pair for 3 euros. All in all, it was a great stay and we do recommend it.
Its the second time stay in this hotel. this time was in a studio apartment. really nice apartment the only point is the WIFI not working or very weak in the studio room. for visitors to venice the walking distance to the train station is about 10 minutes. - Swimming pool opening time should be changed its very limited now from 14-18! - WIFI not working in the studio apartment or very weak.
Very good, clean hotel with outside free parking. There is an underground garage at extra cost, but we didn't need that. Room and bath were very modern and clean. Staff was helpful; nice breakfast buffet. We didn't try the restaurant. There is a bus stop right across the street, but you can walk to the old part of the city. We didn't study the bus #s and stops enough to use them. This hotel was great for a two day stay in Padua.
Overall, we had a great three days here and would return. Positives: - very helpful and polite staff - very modern and clean lobby and rooms - comfortable beds (although the pillows need a re-think) - rooms included all mod cons, even a charger in the safe - great location - about a 25 minute walk into the city along the riverside - free parking available in an adjacent outdoor car park - free breakfast - also bar area to sit and eat/drink - other facilities available but didn't use, e.g. spa - very little external noise - about a 25 minute walk to the train station Negatives: - breakfast was ok - nothing spectacular and it can get very busy at certain times - it's away from the city so walks back at night were done with care - not a lot else around the area so you will have to go into the city
One of the nicest Best Western Hotels I stayed; nice reception, very nice room, good wi-fi, free parking. The staff seemed very professional and ready to help; we check in late in the evening and we were also able to eat something very basic in their bar (the restaurant was closed, because of holiday - August)
Hotel within a walking distance to the city center and train station. Nice room and pool. Good services with average breakfast. Make sure you book the breakfast with your reservation. Good location on the way to Venezia.
Hotel Galileo is the probably one of the best BW hotel I have ever seen. It is designed very smart and positioned on the approachable location close to Padova Fair. You can find everything you need from standard hotel rooms and suites, apartments with kitchenette for extended stay, free parking, wellness with indoor pool and summer garden, restaurant, meeting rooms...Everything is well maintained and by the 4-star Superior standard. We booked apartment in Annex building which was very comfortable for our family (parents with 2 kids). Personnel is strongly professional, but very helpful and extremely polite, that`s not so usual in most of the Italian non-premium hotels. After several trips and staying across Veneto region, I could say that this hotel definitely provide best value for money in this area.
Don't count on the air conditioning. Prepare to sleep without covers and limited clothing. Open windows. Air con works but difficult to control. Attendant helped said worked. For a very 4 starrish hotel - the rooms are high end Best Western, air con needed. But not only in rooms but hallways too. Especially, in the middle of August.
The hotel is quite new and the rooms are nice, modern and we slept very well in those beds without noises disturbing. The breakfast is nothing to remember, but for 3€ per person you can not ask for more. It is not located in the city center, but it is 5 min. away from there by car and you can arrive to Venice in 30 mins. Morover, the price is very reasonable. To Sum up, I would repeat and recommend this hotel.
Nice welcome on arrival and the room was good too. After a hard day cycling I was looking forward to the use of the pool. Sadly I then discovered there was an additional 8 Euro charge, plus you had to have a bathrobe (who carries one of these!) which you could hire for 3 Euros. So effectively 11 Euros, regardless of the time of day/length of use. The woman on the leisure reception was less than helpful! Hotel reception did try to help but she wasn't budging, we couldn't even go and sit in the garden area! Left a really bad taste in my mouth and soured the visit to a lovely city.
Padova itself has a great vibe and this hotel is well placed to explore the Veneto; the train station is 3 bus stops away. The hotel is modern and slick being as it caters for business conferences although this does not stop it being a popular choice for couples and families - as was evident at breakfast.
I had a pleasant overnight stay here as the location was convenient for a business meeting. Although not in the centre of the town, it is only a short drive to get there. There is also a beautiful walk you can undertake along the river which is close to the hotel. The bedroom was a good size and the bed was comfortable. There was plenty of closet and desk space. The bathroom was also reasonably sized and contained all the amenities required. There was a pleasant bar area which served a wide selection of drinks and snacks. Breakfast dining options were limited but the buffet selection was acceptable. The staff were helpful and polite. Overall, a good short stay.
Very nice & clean hotel, helpful staff. We appreciated parking free of charge. Bed was pretty big and very comfortable. It´s little bit far from the city center, but still in walking distance. Brekfast was good (but no vegetable at all).
Were here for a one-night stay and we managed to get a Studio. It was quite spacious and neatly organized. We even had a kitchenette to make our own meals if we wanted (however, no glasses, pots or pans were provided so ... weird). Hotel is very close to a shopping center and within walking distance to the center of Padua. Underground parking is secure and easily accessible (went for this option as we didn't want to leave it outside in the car park). Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was mostly continental and didn't feel very varied (for our tastes). What was nice was that there was a guy who would prepare Italian coffee at an Espresso machine and that was free of charge. Good coffee too !
Professional staff, good quality from Reception to Bar or Cleaning. Ample free parking in the premises. Ideal with car. Modern rooms, convenient beds. Good wi-fi access. Breakfast also good, ample choice.
Great Business Hotel but suitable for families also. Very fast wifi. Buffet breakfast in the mornings with made to order coffee. Downstairs bar for late night snacks and drinks. Room size was fantastic. A little out of of the centre of town but a very pleasant walk along the river to get there. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Would definitely recommend if staying in Padua.
I stayed in this hotel for 5 days for a business trip. Really enjoyed my stay. Nice clean room and a wonderful clean shower. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Located near the river, with some excellent running trails close by (for those who want to start their morning with a run). The only downside - the swimming pool is very small, open only at 14:00 and require an extra charge.
After having stayed at this hotel 2 years back, it was the preferred choice when we planned a second trip this year. The quality and service is flawless, the rooms clean and spacious. Parking garage at the basement was an added advantage. The interconnecting rooms helped us to have our space while keeping an eye on the kids in the next room. Breakfast isn't great but good enough, however there is limited choice for dinner with just one restaurant offering a few choices and while the quality was fine the first day, it differed the next day - maybe due to different chef?! Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the hotel and would continue to stay here if we ever return to Padova.
I have been in Padova for a week for a conference. The Hotel is very comfortable. The room is big and well equipped. Very nice bathroom. Very good bed. In addition to that the internet connection was very fast and I could connect remotely to work and watch Netflix. If you like to move a bit there is a small GYM open 24h/7 The breakfast is ok with a lot of choices and close to the Hotel there is a good restaurant for lunch. Keep in mind that is a bit far away from downtown (as you could see from the map) ... but you can still walk to reach it.
In my opinion this Hotel is the perfect choice. I was so lucky to be there for 2 weeks of work and I look forward to come back. The situation is fantastic since is not in the center but in Padova so by walking you can enjoy the beauty of the city as a perfect starting point, everything is quite close I recommend this HOTEL to everyone who apreciates confort quality and good service. A great overall experience. Close you will find great athmosphere with many colleges around which brings life to your journey surrounded by the river the Galileo is my hotel for Padova. Also will like to remark their restaurant Venezia..great great place to eat the best quality with great attention. The hotel is just 10min away from the train station and 15 to the center of the city.
we stayed (my wife and daughter and me ) two nights in this hotel . this is amasing and nonforgetable . everything was good . bathroom , beds. view and especially delicious breakfast in a pleasant and quiet restaurant .
We had travelled from Venice by canal. The boat finishes on the edge of the city and this was the most convenient hotel. It is not handy for the city centre. However the hotel is a good modern and well equipped one. Fabio and Samantha at the desk could not have been more helpful and made several phone calls to help with our travel planning and made sure we had a quiet room as there was an outdoor concert in the park next door. Standard but high quality breakfast. Just a nice experience when a bit bewildered on the fringe of an unfamiliar town
We've been here only for a night but cannot complain. Room is big and comfortable. Bathroom is nice (only missed a shampoo but I survived ;-) ). Breakfast is not huge but good enough. Location is OK (we walked to Chapel but used car to see Saint Anthony's Church).
This is a modern hotel with lovely large rooms and lots of facilities but what made our stay particularly good was the helpfulness and friendliness of the reception staff. When visiting Padua before we have stayed outside the town but this time wanted a hotel nearer the centre. It is a short bus ride or 15-20 minutes walk to the town centre or railway station and right on the bus route to Marco Polo airport, so very convenient. Our standard room had a safe and hairdryer and we just had to ask for a kettle which was delivered to the room straight away together with tea, coffee, cups etc. Breakfast was good with a variety of hot and cold foods, fruit, cakes, cereal, croissants, cheese, ham etc and you could ask for a freshly made cappuccino to be brought to you as well as making your own drinks. The spa looked really good but we did not have time to try it. Our only problem was in finding our way walking from the station when we arrived in Padua - I suggest taking the bus! once again, thank you to the reception staff who were so nice to us.
We stayed at the hotel for two nights during our honeymoon because we needed to be in between Venice and a place we had dinner reservations outside of town. The hotel is very modern and clean and not at all like the best westerns in the U.S. We had an apartment suite which is in the annex building next door. My only issue with this is that you still had to walk and use the hotel entrance to get access and the car park and other amenities are on the hotel side. The room itself was large and had a kitchenette area and couch in front of the bed to give you a sitting area. The beds were hard and not very comfortable and I found it difficult to fall asleep both nights. The shower is small typical Europe but I found the shower head powerful and the water plenty hot. My biggest complaint about the room is the temperature- it is controlled by the hotel and therefore it was always a little warm. The hotel is located off a main Street so we couldn't sleep with the windows open because of the noise of traffic. Another thing to note is that there isn't a lot to do in the area and it's a cab ride not walk to the train station.
Spend there about a week for bussiness. The location is good, nice shopping center about 10 min walk and the old city is about 25 min walk. Did everything on foot. The staff is nice and breakfest is nice. I've stayed in the apartment, had lot of space and the room was very nice.
for business travellers: the hotel has everything you would expect of a 4 star hotel. It's clean, comfortable, everyone is kind, there's a spa and a gym, it next to a long river promenade great for walking and running, breakfast is abundant, everything is perfect... for tourists: although the description says 'old town' the place is in a quiet river-side, but more business/industry type of setting, more than 30 min walk from e.g. St. Anthony's church...I would look for accomodation down town with more 'local character'...
This hotel is very up to date with a great breakfast selection, food very good. It is located close to everything you want to see in Padova. A nice walk into the city and very close to the main train station. The room is very spacious and comfortable and easy to stay in a get work done. Easy to find for clients to meet. The Hotel provide very up-scale service and accommodations at an very reasonable affordable budget.
New, beautifully decorated hotel, spacious rooms and excellent sleeping quality. Among hotel amenities there is an excellent gym and a swimming pool which was practically deserted; we have never seen someone in the pool, and we also preffered not to use it, probably because the way leading to the pool is not secluded, intimate enough. Breakfast - good, wide selection of foods, unfortunately lacking any fresh items, any vegetables, and the coffee...... the coffee was really a very unpleasant surprise, because you get everywhere in Italy an excellent coffee, except in this hotel, it was terrible, resembling chicory,. certainly not coffee. Parking options are excellent, either underground, free of charge or outside. City center and pedestrian zone is quite distant, about 30 minutes walk
Hotel on main Venice road, with parking facilities, close to old part of city. Comfortable twin room with large bathroom and large wardrobe containing a small safe. Modern hotel with "minimalist" decor, even o the extent of the tables and chairs in the dining room.
Stayed here for 2 nights on business in Padua. From previous reviews I read I expected it to be far from the city. It's not bad at all and you can walk, bus it or take a taxi. The hotel itself is clean and modern. My room was clean spacious and comfortable. Wifi worked perfectly. Breakfast was ok, nothing amazing. I didn't eat any other meals so can't comment on food. Was disappointed that you have to pay €8 to use the pool and even more to use the sauna- not that expensive but I just refused to pay as I thought that was lousy. The staff - Fabio in particular were really great. From the moment I arrived til I left he could not do enough, he was super helpful professional and an absolute pleasure. He really made the stay that but better. If I return to Padua I'll stay here and I would recommend it. Padua itself is a lovely city to wander around, generally safe and the people are friendly.
You'd think the name would be a guarantee but not in this case. The 'room' turned out to be a sort of apartment - not my idea of cosy. The booking clearly included breakfast which I duly had to pay for at the desk in the restaurant before even allowing me to leave the area and when asking for a receipt was grudgingly given a scribbled note on a tiller ticket. I gave up trying to get a decent WiFi signal ...
staying at apart hotel for three days, it's clean composed of a double bed, a sofa and a small kitchen; pity there's no crockery, the room's cold even if we increased the maximum conditional temperature, the bed's hard that we haven't rested for the trip deciding then go to the pool to relax but it's already closed at 18h. as no breakfast included then this is € 20 / head, at cheekout we are surprised by € 3 / head for day tourist tax! !!!!!
We checked in to the new apartments in this modern complex on the outskirts of the Padua old town. What a revelation - fully equipped, very comfortable, good prices, superb staff. And, the bar serves the best coffee north of Melbourne, Australia!
The hotel is near the center or Padua and close to the train station by car. The staff if not very friendly nor helpful. The room is ok, better than most Best Westerns. I stayed in an apartment located in the annex of the main building. They have a a nice SPA, although its expensive and they charge you for everything.. Including towels! The gym is nice and its 24 hrs.
We made a last minute booking for this hotel and were delighted both with the hotel and our visit to Padua, which has been in our “why don't we stop here” conversations for quite a few years now. The location of the hotel is a 20 minute stroll from the train station and our room had views over the river and we could see the old town. We had a spacious room with all the expected amenities, breakfast was included and had a reasonable selection and the staff were very helpful. There is an aparthotel that seems connected to the hotel in the next building and the self serve laundry is available to guests as well (purchase a token from reception). We recommend both the city and the hotel.
Better than most Best Westerns but still not perfect. Beds were very had and uncomfortable and room was fairly basic. Breakfast in restaurant was average but hotel restaurant was very good with friendly/efficient service. 15 mins walk into the old town by the river was well worth doing. Gym was quite good as well.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very friendly, and the restaurant was very flexible when we asked for specially prepared food. The rooms are very clean, and although the location is a little bit out of the way, the city centre is still 20-30 minutes walk away.
i stayed for meeting purpose this october reached in the afternoon hotel is very nice offering nice rooms and nice breakfast..rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Nice product in Padova and nice staff....
The most comfortable bed and an excellent choice for breakfast. The location is not the best (I think it must be in a business district) as it doesn't give you any choices for dinning around and it is a little far for walking to the centre (especially if walking isn't your strong point).
We chose to stay in Padua for four nights because of its affordable hotels and handy rail access to historic cities such as Verona. However, we spent a couple of enjoyable evenings out in Padua itself as well as a morning at the excellent central market. The Galileo hotel is modern, clean and convenient, with a high-quality breakfast. The 10 to 15 minute walk to the old city is a drawback (especially in the rain), but not a critical problem. The booking agency connected to my credit card points put us in a poorly-located room near the hotel's front door, but hotel staff were helpful in relocating us to a nice room overlooking the river. They also provided good recommendations for local restaurants and made a reservation in Italian at one especially popular spot. The taxis summoned from the front desk came in a very few minutes. Two final points: The dinnertime restaurant that leases space in the hotel complex is just adequate, and there are better places to eat in town. Also, as we also found in Florence, the river flows languidly and mosquitoes found their way into our room, even in October.
This hotel would have had 5 stars but for the bed. First impressions were excellent. Attractive, bright reception and very helpful staff who were able to check us in early. Lots of modern art adorning the walls. The room was also modern, light and airy with a very nice bathroom. The bed was huge BUT the downside was that it was solid. There was so little give in the mattress that you could have been sleeping on the floor. Consequently I didn't sleep at all well for the two nights we stayed. Such a shame.
Fantastic location very clean "good reception no one bother nice breakfast but put some vegetables .if i travel next time to padova i will reserve in this hotel , I advise everyone to book this hotel.
Booked after reading reviews, car parking, position. We're able to walk into town along the canal. Have used Best Western in UK so thought it should be good and it did not disappoint. Staff spoke English although we can get by in Italian and they let us! Due to amount of time spent sightseeing did not make it in the spa but it looked fabulous. Even the hot water at breakfast was actually boiling, hooray a decent cup of tea!
We arrived late but were checked in really quickly. All the staff speak excellent English and were very helpful and friendly The Hotel is beautiful inside with full Spa facilities and a pool. The room was huge and had the biggest bed I have ever seen and had full tea and coffee making facilities and huge bathroom and a large wall mounted TV. The pool was wonderful with Spa facilities although 8 euros will be added to your bill to use it. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic with a sort of English breakfast and lots of other choices. Really lovely Hotel and we will definitely visit again
It had been 8 years since we had first stayed in this hotel and we were not disappointed on our second visit. We used it on both occasions as a stopover to facilitate visits to Venice. Our room was both spacious and clean. It also had the benefit of an underground car park and was a short walk from the city centre and the railway station. The car park also had spaces close to the entrance to the reception dedicated to the use of women. Staff were polite and helpful and we will definitely stay again.
Spent three nights in hotel, typical modern hotel with a good location to town. I picked it because it had free parking. Walking distance to old city, breakfast was good, not the best but very typical A good value , we stayed three nights and only paid about $320 US. Also took a side trip to Venice by train, $10 round trip, about a 20 min ride.
Nice modern hotel. Short walk (10) minutes to the center. Nice walk past the college. We walked at night after dinner, safe and a well lit path. Many college students walking and biking along the path also.
Excellent, quiet hotel - staff are awesome..they went out of their way to accommodate us. Super comfy beds and well appointed rooms. Breakfast was great - good variety. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We booked here so that we could visit Venice for a specific purpose and do some general sightseeing in Padova. We also needed parking on site. This fitted the bill perfectly. It is half a mile's walk to the station where there are trains every 20-30 minutes to Venice ( even on Sunday). It is also only less than a mile from the centre of Padua for sightseeing. Taxis are easy to come by if you don't want to walk. As it is situated in the University area I suspect it is used by many visiting academics. The room was as one would expect from a Best Western Premier - everything you would need. The staff were extremely helpful with advice about the parking arrangements, places to eat in the city and the main sites to see. Just a reminder that if you want to se the Giottos in the Scrovegni chapel (perhaps the main reason for going to Padova) you have to book way in advance in the summer. Breakfast was good and although it was busy the staff worked tirelessly. No complaints!
We enjoyed the hotel for the most part. The breakfast was decent with plenty of fresh bread and a barista making espresso to order. Our package included pool & spa, but the spa was closed the whole time we were there (we were given two drink tickets instead which wasn't really fair compensation). The fitness area was about 10 nice machines, but two were broken. The pool felt cold the first day, probably because it was overcast and someone had left the door open. The other days it was OK. The pool is a bit small and shallow (100cm?) and filled with various waterjets, so aimed at relaxing rather than swimming. The jets were nice but on quick 60 second timers, which meant a lot of pushing the large rubber buttons in order to relax. Access to the pool was troublesome though, as you need to go to the basement to check in. They also don't supply towels or shampoo in the pool area/showers. The room itself was fine, although the eco squeeze bottles of conditioner/shampoo/soap meant we couldn't take shampoo to the pool showers. The only drawback is the location. About 15-20 minutes to the train station, a walk you don't want to do with luggage on a hot day. Also 20-30 minutes to the center of the old town, albeit a pleasant walk along the canal.
I have stayed many times in this hotel. I like it a lot . Clean and luxury . Room is big enough and has all facilities. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast . Has a very good spa .( not free). Location is not so good . About 2km from city center . But there is a pathway behind it , just by the river. So is a beautiful walking area to the center . Avoid going from street in front . Is not nice at all , unless you take a taxi.
