Best Western Premier NYC Gateway Hotel

Visiting from upstate New York. Wanted to stay in the city but didn't want to pay city prices so decided to stay here from a recommendation from a friend. So glad I stayed here. Very courteous and friendly staff agents. Met the gm Angelique I believe her name was, very helpful and kind. Gave me a lot of recommendations on local eateries and directions! Very very helpful. Told me about the area and gave alot of pointers. Very clean hotel, clean pool, gym could use an upgrade but who am I to judge lol. Definitely will be coming back, felt like I was part of the family.

I recently had a fantastic stay at the Best Western Premier NYC Kingsway! The hotel's location is conveniently close to the waterfront and just a short 10-15 minute drive to the city. The rooms were super clean and comfortable, and the service was top-notch. The staff were wonderful, but a special shoutout to the front office supervisor Mery Ann - she was incredibly friendly and helpful! She's a gem! I truly appreciated the excellent service and accommodations provided. I'm already looking forward to my next visit for another great stay!

I wanted a staycation this year away form reality for a bit and I received exactly that. Silence was granted and an amazing staff. I really wish I knew the young lady's name who was an amazing help during my stay; because of her I will be returning. The bed was a bit too soft for me and my partner so we sorta have to get a massage to fix that. Other than that an enjoyable weekend.

My room was not clean properly sheets was dirty old food behind the bed and the pool definitely needs proper cleaning and maintenance the staff wasn't bad it's just the cleaning was horrible unfortunately

Convenient location for accessing NYC. Front desk staff is helpful providing public transportation options. Although not obvious at first, there are many food options close to the hotel. Maid staff readily available to restock ammenties, like coffee and towels.

The hotel isn't a bright one. Our room was dark with no view and that's ok. Housekeepers generous and clean, however, under the bed items were missed to clean up after the previous guest. Shower head was not powerful at all. It would take me an hour to rinse shampoo off my hair. The front desk folks were nice but kept pushing the shuttle bus when I asked what bus number takes me to nyc (public bus), they said they didn't know after 5 minutes. They should know this. There are jitney buses passing 5 min walk from hotel at 3.50$ US a person every 5 minutes to Times Square. Highly recommended and safe. And for those who want to take a public bus there are many just check the MTA site. Free car park indoor garage

We needed a room for 4 for a family gathering in NYC. The front desk staff were consistently polite and helpful. They accommodated our late arrival and allowed us to leave our car on site until 4:45pm on the day of check out so that we could squeeze in one more visit to our relatives in the city. At check in we were informed that with just a 2 night stay this location did not offer maid service/fresh towels/etc. during the stay. We were fine with that and the gentleman at the desk made sure I had additional towels to take to the room to cover our needs. I was pleasantly surprised to return to the hotel after a day out to discover that housekeeping HAD come by and made the beds, removed/replaced wet towels, emptied trash, etc. We were not expecting it. The hotel has a lobby cafe where you can purchase breakfast. Their prices were very competitive for the area and the food was good and larger portions than expected. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin and was pleased to find that the English muffin was much larger than I anticipated. Complimentary coffee and tea are available in the cafe area at all hours.

room was filthy, contacted staff to request ANY alternative, was told it was a know issue but no help or alternative would be made, staff was, rude and unhelpful every step of the way, avoid this hotel at all costs

AC 2ft from the bed so noisy as a tractor. so you will not sleep because of noise or from suffocation - nice choice. some rumbling noises from some machinery, vibrating the walls. not possible to rest. although we reported problems to the service - no help, we had to stay in this noise, so 3 sleepless nights ruined our stay.

Very easy and comfortable stay. Family of 4 (includes 2 older teens). We had a suite with two queen beds and a pull-out sofa. All good. Clean room (a very tiny bit older but very clean and nothing worn down). About a 20-30 minute drive into Manhattan (we had a car and parking was free and very easy, on site). I would very definitely stay here again. Breakfast options were good (some items not available on menu) but very reasonable and made fresh.

Super convenient to NYC for cheaper than any hotel that is actually clean and trustworthy. Breakfast is great and cheap. Gym works. Always friendly staff at the front desk. Free parking is a nice bonus

If you look for a hotel in NJ or near NYC, you should stay at this hotel. I'm kinda picky and working at the hotel as a front desk manager, so I know almost how they clean, how we need to greet guests, etc. They're doing great! Thank you to your all staff including the housekeepers :)

Nice property. High $100 incidental, daily. No freebies- like water/breakfast. Room was clean but cockroach found in corner around checkout time. No businesses within walking distance. N Bergen sucks!

Great hotel for its value. Accesible to NYC. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable. Location of hotel was close to retail stores and restaurants.The staff provided great customer service! We will be using this hotel on our next trip!

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western NYC Gateway. It was clean and staff showed great hospitality. Breakfast was priced extremely well, and we enjoyed everything that we ordered. We visited the pool one time, but found it to be on the cooler side and the water was not clear, but more of a cloudy blue color. If staying here to visit NYC and planning on taking public transit, please note, the closest bus stop is only 0.25 mile away, but it is an uphill walk from the hotel and you must walk along a busy highway to access the bus stop. In returning from NYC, you must utilize the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which has many different gates and it was difficult to navigate to a route that would stop at the bus stops nearest to the hotel. Also, do your research on the bus system prior to booking. There are many different routes, and each day we boarded a different route number for either direction. We encountered others on our travels that were staying in this hotel and we're also having trouble trying to navigate the transit. Had we done our research prior to booking, we would more than likely opted for a different location.

Overall everything was just fine for my family's 2-night stay. Unfortunately, breakfast is not included, the room was right next to elevators so we could here the chimes all the time, and apparently there's no room make up / towel change for 2-night stay. Otherwise, it was very smooth experience: quick and professional checkin/checkout, helpful staff, good pool, secure indoor parking. Overall new / well maintained hotel with quick access to New Your City.

The wheelchair accessible room was exactly that wide doors comfortable bed tile in half of the room comfortable beds very spacious for somebody to stay in that in a wheelchair was able to visit the pool. They had a wheelchair ramp and a wheelchair lift.

The room was very clean and smelled amazing clean linen and towels gated parking with plenty of parking, the location is perfect...I didn't do the breakfast but will definitely stay again. Excellent choice

Its a great hotel, the price was very good for the area and time of the year. It is a bit far from NYC (about 30min drive to time square) but the hotel does offer a shuttle at 8:15, 9:45 and 20:30 and 22:30 from and back (10usd per person). the parking is large and secure. the breakfast were good. The only downside i would mention is the shower water pressure is low, washing hair and lower bodypart takes a while.

WE decided to go to New York as a Christmas gift to our 2 kids. My wife found the hotel while doing some investigation and it was a reasonable price. To get to Time Square is really easy also. There is a shuttle that takes you for 14$US per trip and drop you off directly in Time Square. The staff is really friendly and they are really helpful.

Highly recommend this hotel. Clean, beautiful with spacious rooms. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and staff there was wonderful, too. Hotel lounge was nice and Craig, the bartender, is worth a visit! Pool was a little disappointing as it was 4ft 6in all over and with a kiddo that isn't the strongest swimmer we could not utilize it as we wanted. But, for adequate to good swimmers, it will work well. Plus, it is one of only about 5 hotels in the wide area with a pool at all so if swimming is on your list, this one is it! Sleeping was incredible because it was not noisy at all and they have really nice blackout curtains that let you sleep in easily! Only challenge was getting over to NY for leisure activities as one Uber driver refused to go into NY, but that was only one out of 6 we used. There is also a multi-hotel shuttle available, but we did not use it so cannot comment. If you drive in, there is a nice parking garage so your car is safe and off of the street during your time at the hotel.

Great value for the money. Clean premises, comfortable and quiet room (especially considering it overlooks major highways), and very friendly staff. Check-in was fast. Pool was small and not heated, but clean and with a view of the Meadowlands and a few highways. The hotel had lots of wheelchair accessible spaces, including the pool area. Prices were reasonable for the breakfast and the lounge on the 5th floor was comfortable for a couple quick drinks.

The garage parking was secure and convenient. There was some noise, but overall the room was great. Clean, comfortable, great amenities, and very friendly staff. There is only breakfast served so plan for dinner elsewhere. The room had a fridge and microwave. I'd gladly stay again.

I just came back from a 4 days/3 nights NYC trip. The Best Western Premier NYC Gateway Hotel is perfectly convenient to Manhattan. The price is very reasonable compared to similar hotels in NYC. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast is available, but it is not complimentary. However, it is reasonably priced. If you're looking for a grand slam breakfast, then this is not it. But if you're looking to put something in your stomach to start your day, then their breakfast suffices. FYI…. There is a shuttle that makes it rounds to a few other hotels in the area that will drop you off in Times Square for $10 per adult. There is even a bus that you can catch at the nearby Super 8 motel that will drop you off in Times Square for $3.50. We used this bus while there and never had to wait long for the bus. Note that this bus stops running at 10:30pm. Overall, if you're looking for an affordable hotel, then this hotel is great!

Nice hotel. We stayed in King Suite. The suite was huge and really nice. Very nice quiet hotel and accommodating staff. Will definitely recommend. Free parking too which is a massive bonus. If the need arises I will stay again

If you are traveling to NYC and don't want to pay the high room costs you would by staying in the city, book at the Best Western Premier NYC Gateway Hotel. The hotel is very clean, nice staff, great accommodations, bed and pillows were very, very comfortable, has a shuttle service that will take you in to the city and pick you up in the evening for a small fee.....way cheaper than Uber or taxi. They have a restaurant in the lobby, but our excursions began too early so we were not able to eat there, but it's nice that it's available for breakfast.

We stayed at the BW with our family of 4 and you can't beat the price with the location you get. You are minutes from the Lincoln tunnel and there is a gated parking garage with ample room. We upgraded to a suite and it was huge. Totally worth the little extra money for our family of 4. The pool was clean and the kids loved it. Had breakfast at the hotel one day. Nothing fancy but very good for the price. Visited the bar with great bartender. Overall it is not a luxury hotel but totally worth staying at if planning on exploring NYC and would rather spend money on fun things. Would definitely stay here again. Can't beat the price for the location. Everything was clean and the customer service was top notch. Definitely recommend if looking looking for a clean place with a good location to NYC without breaking the bank!

Hotel was very nice inside. Beds comfortable.Pool Clean. Room Spacious. Parking great. The neighborhood does not offer much, but it is a short trip to manhattan and the savings on parking at another hotel is well worth it. The water was only lukewarm, but I didn't call the desk so I don't know if that problem could have been fixed.

The only thing I was surprised about was the idea of having to buy breakfast. A free continental breakfast would be nice. There was not enough "HOT" water just like warm at the 5th floor elevation. It was very nice having secured parking free.

The room was small to have been a king size but very clean well maintained I didn't care for the entry of the parking garage because we had to exit our vehicle with our room key to get back inside the garage

The hotel staff was friendly and our room was clean. The beds were comfortable. Our shower had water pressure issues and there were no shelves or benches in the shower for bath supplies. No grab bar either. There were no carts for transporting luggage. The location is off the beaten path of everything.

Beautiful hotel. Our room was large and clean. The secure parking was appreciated. Our room in the back of the building was very quiet. The walk to the bus to NY was about seven minutes (I'm guessing). Uphill. The streets are busy.

Three issues - (two bathr and room oriented..one two different times staff did not do their jobs) none resolved during my four night stay. Suffice to say there are better. Yes, you will probably pay more but it'll be worth the enjoyable experience you receive from what should be a better brand than Best Western.

The bad mood receptionist at 11 .30 pm on September 24th insisted to deny my check-in by telling me that my paid booking reservation in my name Max Tito for a stay for 2 people from September 24th to 26th DID NOT EXIST on his system. Reservation Code 254-3246868 was confirmed by Hotelbeds. The non-trained receptionist did not do any effort to help me. I had to sleep at streets. Be aware to this Hotel! Please confirm that my reservation really did not exist. When I call to Hotel they never say anything about. Very strange! I lost my money and my tour to New York was a nightmare.

We have stayed at this hotel three or four times now, and have always had a great experience. I particularly wanted to mention how helpful and considerate Jeremy (I hope I have his name right!) at the front desk was when we arrived last Thursday night. We had an RV that had to be parked in the bus parking area, and he went out and stopped traffic for us, so that we could back out of the driveway. He opened the gate to the basement and then met us at the front desk to check us in. It could have been a big hassle, but he made the process easy and efficient.

Very Nice in terms of service, cleaning and Stay for the price. Breakfast is good but it is not included. Location is not bad but you still take 30min to get to the big Apple when in peak hours (passing through the tunnel is the big limiting step).

Hotel was very clean. The staff was very helpful. They were very courteous and accommodating. The parking garage was definitely a plus. I wish the breakfast was included like before, have more options, to choose from.

I needed an extremely quiet room for one night that was near the city but not IN the city. Requested a high floor and a room facing the back. They gave me exactly that. I stayed in room 703. It's by no means luxury, but I wasn't seeking luxury. The only thang amiss was a lightbulb being out in the lamp by the bed. Not a big deal at all. The rooms are fairly dim, so bring your own makeup mirror if you are a makeup-wearing person.

We were so pleased to stay at the Best Western even without any reservation. The hotel was clean, comfortable and everyone was kind and professional. The breakfast was delicious and I recommend it. We encountered a very pleasant employee by the name of Angelique. She literally made us feel at home and that's what every visitor appreciates. The price was affordable especially in this time which is hard to find. So we give this hotel 5 stars which we rarely do.

The room is equipped with coffee maker and microwave oven. Since I wanted tea, Ive asked the receptionist for glass cup so that i could cook some water in the micro. The two guys at the reception refused and denied having glass cups at the hotel. Later other employees told me that the hotel does have glass cups. There is no second chance to make a first good impression!

Our stay was Fantastic . Our room was very Clean and comfortable, The location was convenient Staff was friendly and helpful. They didn't seem to mind questions about getting to and from the city. Suggested a few helpful ideas. Great place to stay if visiting NYC. We will be back.

If these are what you looking for, this hotel is your choice. We had 2 nights stay there and these are what we enjoyed. Shuttle bus in front of Super 8, very convenient to NYC. Don't like: bed is too soft, dirty carpet, breakfast with a cost but advertised as included.

We enjoyed our stay here- we booked a last minute family weekend trip to NYC. Staff was helpful, parking was safe and they allowed us to park our car before we officially checked in so we could explore the city. The shuttle made travel to and from the city a cinch but it is a little bit of a walk to and from. Shuttle ends at 10 so we used Uber to return after a show at the suggestion of the front desk and it was smooth. The room was very spacious and clean. Couldn't be happier!

We stayed here on NY family trip. Very well maintained property with good menu on free breakfast and free parking. Very convenient to reach Manhattan using public transport. Staff and services were amazing! We had minor problem with the door and was fixed within minutes.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They volunteered info and tips on visiting NYC. Hotel was super clean too! Aside from a low water pressure, everything was great! That was not enough for us not to love this hotel!

My friend and I stayed for one night while going to see The Weeknd at MetLife Stadium. The location was convenient. The room was clean and comfortable. Felt safe there. Quiet. Perfect for a short stay. Loved that they had alcohol/food to purchase in the lobby. Staff was friendly and helpful, helped me out with a question I had about transportation.

Very good located to reach NYC by bus (about 20 minutes). Nice and clean hotel. Very spacious rooms and good service. Parking in a garage is included. Would stay here again. Trip by bus to Manhattan was easy to handle.

As we were driving to New York we wanted to stay somewhere which we were able to easily access and depart from and the BWP NYC Gateway Hotel worked perfectly for us. Check in was efficient, room was large, very comfortable, quiet and clean. Staff were very helpful, car parking included. There is a supermarket within 10 minutes walking distance to the property which we frequented for supplies. The bus shuttle service into/out of NYC was cheap and efficient and ran about every 10 minutes from the Super 8 Motel which is a short walk from the BWP (so collects you at the Super 8 and drops you off at the petrol station on the opposite side coming out of NYC). Trip is about 20 minutes each way at a cost of $3.50 each way, drops you at the Port Authority in Times Square and collects you from around the corner, can't complain about that! Made it so easy! Small convenience store at the BWP which was reasonably priced, coffee available 24/7 from the lobby area, ATM and business centre available within the property. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Caught an Uber to Hoboken for dinner one night which cost $10 to the location but cost around $20 coming back. Hoboken is very clean and plenty of restaurants options for dinner (recommended by the BWP staff). Overall extremely happy with our choice. Would happily recommend.

I'm going to give you the most accurate review on the BWNYC. The Pro's, hotel itself is very good and the secured parking garage at the hotel is excellent. The Con's, the hotel is located in a bit of a rundown area. There's constant train whistling (horn) throughout the night from the nearby train yard. The local shuttle service ($3.50/per trip) services tourist and locals. The service is quite slow and crowded because the drivers are constantly stopping anywhere and everywhere along the way. The only passengers seeming to pay for the shuttle are the tourists many locals just hop on and off without paying. The shuttle drops the passengers off in front of the 42'nd St. Port Authority Bus Station and obviously picks up passengers at the same location when returning back from NYC to North Bergen (Patterson). When returning back to the hotel from NYC, be prepared to be dropped off at the Exxon Gas Station (last stop closest to hotel) located on 31'st St. and JFK Blvd. Don't miss that stop because the shuttle then proceeds onto the Thruway. From the Exxon Gas station you'll have about a 10-15 minute walk back to the BWNYC hotel. I'm mentioning this because if your coming back a little later at night some of you may not feel safe walking in this area. Keep in mind that this shuttle service doesn't run on a schedule, we asked a couple of different drivers what time the last shuttle ran out of NYC back to North Bergen. Both times we were told 12:00 midnight was the last shuttle (something to keep in mind if your planning a late night in NYC). A second option is to take the Public bus from the 42'nd St. Port Authority bus station (make sure you get on the right bus). We were told by the NJ transit customer service at the station to take the 160 bus back to North Bergen (Patterson) when we think it should have been the 161. Needless to say we ended up in East Rutherford NJ where we had to find our way back, not fun and very time consuming. We're pretty sure the 160 is the bus you take to come into NYC from NJ (do your homework and don't rely on the NJ transit customer service) Again when we figured out that we should have taken the 161 we noticed that the Exxon Gas station is also the last stop closest to the hotel. Made sense because again after that stop the bus gets onto the Thruway. A Final option is an Uber or Lyft which will cost you about $40/one way. In closing I'm not sure it's worth staying outside Manhattan for the free parking at the BWNYC. If I had to do it again, I would definitely stay in NYC and NOT in North Bergen! Hopefully this post is helpful, I know it would have been for me.

Good Hotel and location. Very good room dimensions. Breakfast offer should be improved and the Hotel Team should be a little bit more customer oriented. Room cleaning not on daily basis but every 3 days....

Will, the GM, was courteous and welcomed me well. He gave great dinner recommendations and shared the great amenities at this location. The entire staff was exceptional. The rooms were spacious, clean and well ventilated . I will patron again.

The hotel is just outside the city but a great value. Rooms are clean and spacious and located in a quiet neighborhood. It hasn't been open very long so I think it's still a hidden gem and not over crowded. They do not have a daily cleaning service which was fine for us but something to note if you want someone to clean your room daily. They do provide plenty of towels and extra trash bags if needed. They also offer a full breakfast for purchase in the lobby which is perfect before you leave for the day.

The hotel as well as room was clean and spacious. It's just 20 min ride by shuttle bus to Times Square for a fee of $3.50. There is a small walk to catch the shuttle bus. There is a mall nearby with restaurants around so it's convenient to eat out. Parking is free. The breakfast in the lobby is mediocre. Coffee and tea are free. We liked our stay there. The room didn't get cleaned as told to us on 3rd/ 4th day. That was our only concern. The front desk staff was helpful and welcoming.

Very Nice and Welcoming Entrance along with a Warm and Very Clean Bathroom/Room - Great Service. So Happy I Stayed Here and It's Right by The Freeway and Great Tasting Restaurants Surrounding it. I Would Recommend THIS Best Western to Anyone

Very comfortable bed, convenient location/access to NYC. Room was clean and spacious, staff was pleasant. Bathroom was a bit tight but certainly functional. elevator is a little slow but not unreasonably. slow. Would absolutely stay here again

Don't you dare book yourself in this Hotel. 1. Location is terrible rightby the street. 2. Unfriendly stuff actually very rude staff. 3. VERY DIRTY rooms and you can't walk on the carpets in the rooms without slip ons or socks. 4. Filthy fridge smelt like somebody put a dead rat in their literally. 5. No house cleaning the staff told us they do house keeping every 3 days so if you checked in for 2 nights you clean your own room WTF! Who does that.. Cheap is Expensive stay away!

I will give this Hotel a 9.5 out of 10, because of the appearance of the parking lot, looks very dirty/trash leave behind by guest, people smoking and drinking in the parking lot. But once inside the property is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. If the appearance of the parking lot doesn't bother you, then I will recommend it 100 percent.

The staff at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. Rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable. Pool area and changing room also clean. Internet was slow and breakfast was overpriced and very slow. I'd prefer a “self-serve” breakfast where it's continental type foods and utilize staff in other ways to maintain a clean, safe environment. I noticed many frustrated guests, including my family, at how slow the process was and how flustered and rude one of the ladies was when preparing food. I simply asked if they call us by name or room number when good was ready and was told “well it's going to be awhile. I have 10 orders in front of you.” I didn't ask about timing, I asked how the process worked of picking up my food. This was really our only negative experience and in turn, we went elsewhere for breakfast our second morning there. Great hotel otherwise

Staffs are really nice and helpful. The manager even upgraded us to suite room that made our BW stay more fantastic! PS., even if you check out in AM, they will still allow you to park till evening on the same day—-for free! :)

Room is clean. Location is a bit far from NYC. The shuttle bus does not stop at the front gate of the hotel and we needed a few minutes walk. The staff is very kind and friendly. The parking is free and very large enough.

Everything is always clean and perfect when I stay there but the only negative thing I would have to say about the place is the breakfast. It's average in flavor/quality and way overpriced. Other than that my stays there have been incredible. I love the gated parking to the amazing rooms.

The room was in the perfect location! Close to both American Dream and Time Square, with free secure parking included. My room was large and comfortable. My only complaints would be much of the equipment in the gym was broken and the fridge in my room needs to be replaced it was very loud and not very cold.

Spent two nights at the best Western so that we could visit the American dream mall. The room was clean, which is what appealed to me the most. No complaints there. Very limited interaction with the staff, but they were pleasant. There was a refrigerator in the room, which was excellent. There was no freezer – but that did not matter, because we could simply keep our frozen goods in the hallway. It was like an igloo out there! Consequently, the tile floors were also frigid. The pool was nice, and warm, but not very big in size. It was a small trapezoidal polygon. The parking garage is a freaking nightmare! If the hotel isn't busy, it's smooth sailing. But if it's busy, which it was, it is impossible to find a place to park. And if you do find a space, you'll be squeezing in with only inches between you and the next car in the concrete pole on the side. What a waste of space! You could see the stress rolling off the face of the people who were trying to park their cars. All in all, a nice day. Super convenient. And very, very clean, which is important due to a medical condition. Breakfast is not included, but it's available à la carte. It didn't appeal to us.

This hotel was so great! The bed was comfortable and there was a microwave and a refrigerator. The hotel was super clean! The facility was flawless! They have their own parking deck so it was super convenient with my vehicle. The location was great! Very close to the transit system in Newark and the new American Dream mall. I had the best stay that I've had in a while and I travel a lot for business and leisure. The professionalism of the staff and operators was unmatched. They were kind and accommodating in every way!

Great place to stay to get work done and brainstorm some great ideas. Also great for relaxing too. Though she is super busy, ask for Angela, she will not let you down prior to, during and after your stay.

Pros: -beautiful lobby and rooms -supermarket and IHOP nearby -parking lot is good and roomy -bus to Manhattan is nearby -shower very well designed Cons: -train horns in the early morning -no free breakfast -door did not "lock" when closed sometimes Overall, we loved the stay.

I was checkined in by Angelic who was the sweetest and the kindest. She took the time to acknowledge my member status and upgraded my daughter and I to a king suite .Omg! We jad so much space and it was very clean and quiet .The pool was awesome as well as the fully equipped gym.The breakfast was at a extra cost but i think worth it breakfast is not always available because of covid so be prepared for that also

This hotel is worth the extra money over lesser properties. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Whole hotel was very clean. Jamie at front desk was informative and helpful with directions and other questions. Ladies making breakfast were fabulous too! Wish breakfast was included and pool was heated. Other than that absolutely fantastic!

I really like this location a lot. The staff especially Angie, made us feel welcomed. She remembers names and faces of the guests. This is why I will always make this the go to place to stay in Bergen. Close to everything your just a hop,skipand jump from the multiplex in Seacacus , catch a movie with the family or head the other direction short drive to the Newport center mall for a grand day of shopping. Numerous locations to grab a bite to eat . Perfect always clean and accommodating. Hospitality at is best. Brian E.

IT was an average experience. I think what deters me from giving more stars is the cost- too expensive for the quality they offered. Also there is no free breakfast- you have to pay "a la carte" meaning for each item you want. plus there were no free amenities in the room, you could however spend hella more cash to buy them in the gift shop...

My car broke down and got towed to the hotel. The hotel helped to get the car towed to a nearby auto repair shop and the hotel manager even drove me to the shop so I could retrieve belongings and talk to the repair person. I so appreciate his kindness. I was able to leave my belongings in the office the next day while the car was being repaired. The front desk staff were kind and efficient, the room was very nice and all the facilities were amazing. I would definitely stay here again.

Great experience overall. Safe parking in a garage with possibility to leave a car for the next day after checking out for Free. Bus stop is just 5 minutes away with a commute to Port Authority. Good friendly service at the front desk. Breakfast is available for extra charge. A little bit noisy from the highway roads, but still fine. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

I love my stay here, everyone here are always so nice and willing to help you even when just browsing for snacks. the place is very clean and the bed is very cozzy almost did not want to go home. Very clean hotel with easy check in. It included free parking in private parking garage with a lot of spots and easy access to the hotel through an elevator. The breakfast was very good but was not included.

We're happy that we stayed here. It's a good hotel with ok clean rooms, comfortable beds. Had a few issues, the hair dryer refused to work, and there was gum on the rug that my wife stepped in. These things should have been caught by staff before we got there. Again, I have to complain about the wifi. I don't understand why so many hotels have such lousy wifi service. We've stay in plenty where you get excellent connections that don't flake out on you. This hotel is not one of them. The parking is excellent. You park under the hotel in a locked garage that is access with your room key. Grade A+ in the parking department. There is only one ice machine in the hotel on the sixth floor. Why?

This hotel is beyond amazing!! Staff is very helpful and the lobby is very well decorated and clean! The rooms are cleaned and stocked up great and very spacious! The pool is open so it gives you something to do and they offer breakfast in the morning too!!

I am very picky with places I stay but I admit this place was excellent. The free parking, the breakfast options and the cleanliness of our room . Our floor was quiet and everything far exceeded my expectations!!

My trip to New York City was great. This hotel is about 2 blocks from the bus stop. It cost me $1.55 for senior. NJTransit bus was perfect. Free parking in secure location was very nice. Hotel was cleaned and service was friendly.

This was a wonderful experience! Kid friendly with nice pool and affordable breakfast. The staff were super friendly who went out of their way to help us with questions. The room was really clean and the bed was comfy!

Front desk reassured us that they provided shuttle service to New York City. They failed to tell us how much it would cost us and upon check in we were given a paper that indicated an outside shuttle service that was expensive and limited to 2 morning pickup times and one return trip back 10 hrs later

I would again consider that PBW my stay for my next visit in NYC. Nice and clean place with good service and a parking garage spot included. Access to Manhatten is availabe through shuttle bus, which is not part of the Hotel amenities. Definitely recommended.

They have a really nice indoor pool here. Service was excellent and friendly. Convenient to Manhattan and New Jersey attractions. Rooms were spotless and comfortable. I will be glad when al the covid restriction are lifted,

I must say my trip to New York was great, this hotel was the perfect location for me and my family because we are close to New York but don't have to pay the big city prices, this hotel is about 2 blocks from the bus stop and there are several restaurant within walking distance, i recommend this hotel because it has comfortable beds, the bathroom is nice and they do give you the option of pre ordering breakfast for the next morning because nothing has open back up yet do to the pandemic.

Location great not far from park and ride to City, Free parking in secure location is very nice. Unfortunately indoor heated pool and fitness area were still closed do to COVID. Also maid service is limited also if you stay more than 3 days you switch rooms to get a clean room.

Heading to "The City" for a get-a -way" we hoped to find a clean, safe, decent, fairly priced place to stay. We found it!! Traveling from the Corning-Elmira, NY area some 250 miles away the BEST WESTERN PREMIER!! The rooms modern, ultra clean, and welcoming...even a gated parking garage for added security. Overshadowed by all this were the people that make a property and the "feeling" when you arrive-stay-and depart. NO GM greeting you but rather , better than that some people who definitely deserve MORE THAN the pay they receive for how well they treated us> Those impact people are a man named MANNY, the front desk clerk named ANGIE...not only did she tend the incoming but actually had to leave her post to bring us a working TV remote and also show us how that microwave worked. WHOA, let us not forget the housekeeping supervisor named ANA. She responded right away to a coffee machine issue and solved it immediately...with charm, grace, and politeness....These three (3) are who made our experience truly worth a return visit...caring, sincere, attentive, honest, polite, pleasant, professional, well-groomed, and PROFESSIONAL!!! Very clean and friendly staff. Also attentive our cable wasn't working in our living room area and they came up to fix after calling them with 5 minutes. Only bad thing was that the pool was closed and my children was looking forward to swimming. But that was one of the changes due to Covid I assume. But overall very good stay and the parking garage was free is always a plus in a bigger city.

We had a quick family trip to see nearby colleges in Newark and Hoboken. The hotel was updated and staff was very friendly. The room was clean and spacious. Beds and pillows were comfy. Shower had nice hot water with good pressure. It was close to highway but at the same time was quiet. Will definitely stay there again!

The location of this hotel is great because it's about 9 minutes away from American Dream mall and MetLife stadium. Inside the hotel is also well kept, but it was not a good view from the window in our room. There was a lot of trash between the trees and bushes outside. But overall, we had a good stay here.

the best western is surrounded by hotels nearby, however they don't measure up to the best western. the lobby is pristine and the rooms are immaculate. The front desk has always been kind and courteous to me. You couldn't go wrong booking this hotel.

Recently stayed at the Best Western Premier for the first time and I was absolutely blown away with this hotel. Aside from the beautiful design and layout of my room the staff goes above and beyond to make it's guests feel 100% safe and comfortable. Everyone was wearing masks and clearly following all safety guidelines. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and the breakfast in the morning was incredible. I would choose this hotel than most hotels in NYC. I will definitely be coming back.

This is an amazing hotel that you will to have near New York City. I loved the room with a massive sitting area and amazing bathroom. I had amazing service from every staff member I met from the GM Will to the front desk agents Angie, Manny, and Robert. The housekeepers were also great from Ana. Breakfast was also amazing and affordable! This hotel did not disappoint!

This Hotel is a hidden gem. I was traveling for business and booked a reservation at the very last minute. To my surprise from check in to check out, I has a great stay for 3 nights. The General Manager Will was always present with a smile and suggested the best local restaurant for dinner, breakfast every morning at the Hotel with Karen was amazing and the Front Desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable ( I felt safe) and more than I expected for the rate. FREE onsite Parking was the cherry on top! What a great Hotel, The name is perfect because it is indeed a Premier Best Western. Kudos to you all and "thank you" for a great experience.

I traveled to this hotel with 8 colleagues for a conference. Since most of us were vaccinated against covid-19, we felt comfortable meeting in person. Even still, the hotel's General Manager, Will, took great care to ensure our safety and to follow all CDC guidelines. Our meeting room was spacious to ensure social distancing and our desks were set up with plexiglass barriers. Sanitizer, masks, and gloves were provided for us, and masking was strictly enforced for us and the other guests we saw at the hotel. Even the staff, who were all true professionals, were never seen without their masks. The service from Angie's front desk team (Manny and Robert) was outstanding, and Karen was a wonderfully friendly face serving up a great made-to-order breakfast early in the morning. (I had preordered the night before so I could just come down and pick it up safely) Special kudos to Ana who was in charge of housekeeping. Everywhere we went in the hotel was impeccably clean, and my suite was so clean that it felt like I was the first person to stay in it! The hotel has a bar and grill which was unfortunately closed because of the pandemic. We peeked in through the window and it looked very nice with great views! Until it reopens, Will had some great recommendations for us and he helped us find a wonderful Italian restaurant. All told, it was an excellent experience and I look forward to our next visit!

I usually book a room at Best western Premier NYC Gateway Hotel solely to get a brain break from home life locally. My significant other and I come to get away from responsibilities, but sometimes we bring the kids with us. It's always clean, and the front desk is always so accommodating. I gave this hotel 4/5 stars only because the last time I stayed, my room smelt of cigarettes and the pool was closed and there was no communication that the amenities were not available. My kids were disappointed our staycation wouldn't include the pool. Other than that incident, I have no complaints.

I've stayed at this hotel about 6 months ago and i had a great experience the first time i went. I decided to take my little brother to NY for the weekend, and this hotel is in the perfect spot. The rooms are always so clean and comfortable. And the bed/pillows are comfortable as well. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone's who's visiting NY.

The stay was great. The room was modern, quiet, and comfortable. The room was spacious. It had a cozy feeling and the bed was very comfortable. It is on a quiet street. The staff was nice. Most importantly parking was free The only downside was that it took a long time for the room to heat up. I would recommend and stay again.

In a COVID-19 world after staying in hotels over 90 days in the last 100 days this was the best experience I've had this year. Definitely the cleanest, safest, peaceful stay I've had. I only wish my company could afford to put me up in BWP Hotel all the time. What wonderful staff and beautiful room! I'll definitely be back!

The pictures do no do this hotel justice. The room was large and clean. The mattress and pillows were so comfortable my mom and I did not want to get up in the morning. The bathroom is modern and beautiful. The rooms might be soundproof because when I would leave to go downstairs I would hear my neighbor talking loud in the hallway but upon entering my room I heard nothing. I had an omelette made for me in the kitchen and it was so good and well-seasoned along with the potatoes. Will definitely return again wherever I'm in the area.

We've stayed at this hotel before but on our mini honeymoon we were charged $250 smoking fee and neither of us smoke or smoked in the room. When we called we were disregarded with no resolution. We explained that there must have been some sort of discrepancy and if they could check to be sure they had the correct room. After a long drive a break was much needed but now we regret taking it here. Unfortunately In this pandemic with people dealing with enough no one wants an outrageous price that they did not occur . Please do not waste your money

This was the most friendly hotel and very clean and considerate for all my needs. Everything was nearby. The staff was very friendly and came quickly when you called for something. I loved the channels that they provided on the TV and again I may say the rooms were very clean along with the hotel.

Clean, good service, 20 min to Newark Airport, NYC. Close to Hoboken. Wasn't crazy about the area around the hotel. Situation needing multiple police cars when we arrived. But once inside the hotel, it was very nice, staff was friendly.

Even under current circumstances going to this best western was a great experience check in and out super easy and polite staff. Parking is in a garage so that was interesting as I have a van that's 8 ft high but still was ok a little tight. The room itself was very spacious I had a suite for the first time certainly very interesting and comfortable king size bed etc seating area very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and spacious was nice.

It was very clean.The staff was extremely polite and I had everything I needed. I have a problem with the Internet they took care of it right away. Breakfast in the morning was excellent nothing to complain about bottom line everything went very well.

We only stayed a couple nights but this hotel was excellent. The room smelled like clean laundry and was very nice, and clean! The free breakfast was delicious and they kept it nice and full all morning. The front desk person Henry was such a sweetheart. He was VERY helpful and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. He was also helpful with figuring out where to go and how to get to New York City. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the area. The shuttle comes right to the hotel and brings you back $15 round trip.

The people who served us were most helpful. They even had parking for our large van. ...gave us directions and helped make our tour most enjoyable. They had a good breakfast ready for us early because we had to leave by seven a,m. A little hard to get to.

I really enjoyed my stay at best western gateway. Alicia and Dawn, 2 of the staff member at the facility l, really made the stay enjoyable. They were professional and friendly. The gym was basic yet good enough to get an effective workout achieved everyday. The pool was a nice touch. I loved the waffle maker presented at breakfast. I had a great, leisurely stay and will try to make it back to this location.

This was my second time in this hotel and it is just amazing.The rooms are super clean,breakfast is excellent and very diverse.Staff are the best and made me come back. I highly recommend this hotel and I will return and keep recommending this property.

Our goal was to visit New York without having to pay the New York City hotel prices and this hotel helped to achieve this goal. Our room was good overall, clean fair sized but nothing fancy. Breakfast was satisfactory. Can't complain too much as it was included. Enough variety but the fruit selection was pretty sad looking the 4 mornings we were there. The shuttle bus to New York was amazing. It took about 10/15 minutes to get to New York from this hotel and about the same amount of time to get back to the hotel. Cost was about $50 per day for our family but it was worth it. Dropped us off and picked us up in Times Square. Even one night when traffic was bad and our bus was running late another bus assigned to different hotel close to ours kindly offered to drive us back to our hotel. We left our car in the hotel's indoor parking garage for most of the trip which was also a nice perk. The only negative thing about this hotel would have to be the location. It's not the most picturesque area of New Jersey but close to The Met Stadium which we were able to get to quickly and excellent distance for a New York City trip. We even had time to take a dip in the indoor pool which was nice and well maintained. If you are looking for a good road trip, this is a good place to start looking.

I stayed with a group of 50 people, a touring youth choir, and this was our second time at this hotel. Love the spacious quality rooms, and overall hotel. The cocktail lounge is really nice and we adults convene there evenings BUT on our Jan 2020 trip we were disappointed to learn that the lounge is CLOSED ON SUNDAYS. Really poor management decision I'd say - it was a long weekend and the hotel seemed busy. There's NOTHING decent venue-wise around the hotel, so the unfortunate closure of the lounge left us without a place to go on our last night. I'd just like management to know that guests expect a hotel lounge to be open nightly... especially when you're located in the middle of a cultural wasteland... so having random closure days like that is bound to affect some guests negatively. Second issue was that as a group chaperone, I had to sleep on the pull-out couch which was unfortunately extremely uncomfortable: every spring digs into you all night. Luckily the staff was kind enough to provide 3 blankets the next night, which I used two of underneath me, and that helped make the bed bearable. So just a tip for anyone planning to use the couch-bed! All in all, though, I think the this hotel is great value for visiting NYC. (Just fix the lounge hours issue please!)

Great hotel for this price range, clean and up to date. The pool was a little too cold, but overall wonderful experience. Breakfast had a wide selection, parking was ample and safe. The lounge had typical selection for food, was good and came out fast, a little over priced for what you get - but worth it to not have to leave the hotel after a day of traveling. Would recommend.

The rooms were immaculately clean and a nice size but we didn't have hot water one morning (warm). The breakfast staff was efficient and the selection good but the quality needs to improve for the price point charged. The rooms were quiet minus the bathroom. At times, we could hear the plumbing and conversations. Overall a nice option!

We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights at this hotel located in New Jersey because of the insane tariffs at hotels in Manhattan during the Xmas period. We were ready to make the extra commute (20 min from Time Square) in order to get a better quality of accommodation, which we got. However, I would probably not choose to stay outside of Manhattan in a less crowded season. Hotel is fairly new, rooms and property are clean and well maintained, beds are extremely comfortable. Front desk staff very helpful and attentive. Sound proofing between rooms and in corridor could be improved. We did not enjoy the breakfast, very basic and mainly industrial products. Overall, we were looking for good nights of rest and it did the job.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting New York City for the holidays. We chose this hotel based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. Hotel staff were welcoming and helpful with all of our questions regarding traveling into the city. The rooms were extremely clean and had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable we didn't want to get out of them in the morning! The breakfast was plentiful and delicious - loved the pancake maker! Parking was free, which was definitely a plus. Overall a 5-star experience and we would not hesitate to stay here again!

For being a "premier" hotel, expectation was much higher. This property does not come close to being a top tier hotel, even for Best Western. The exterior of the property was nice, but the neighborhood is less than desirable. The rooms are quite small, and don't even think about fitting under the shower if you're close to 6 feet or taller. The hotel is clean, but old. I had much higher expectations, and don't understand how this property is premier rated. I was disappointed. And as for location, if you want to travel into NYC, as travel time and cost is quite high, unless you want to sit in a crowded, run down bus for 90 minutes, trying to get through the Lincoln tunnel. I won't be staying at this property again.

We just got back from this hotel and have to say it was totally worth the saving. The hotel itself is clean, fairly modern and the staff are really helpful. The breakfast is plentiful and you can even help yourself to hot drinks before you leave to go out for the day. You can catch a shuttle bus from right outside or just around the corner at the super 8 so it's really convenient and affordable. If you're looking to visit New York City and want to stay somewhere that's well priced but doesn't scrimp on the offerings then this hotel is for you. Although if travelling with children I'd advise you to fly into Newark. It'll save you around $400 in transfers and you'll miss most of the traffic.

Our room at this hotel was one of the nicest we've had in quite a while. We got a free night at Best Western and elected to use it here. The hotel is very conveniently located if you are looking to spend time in NYC. You can take a bus to the city (that leaves around the corner) or you can use the park and ride lot (with express bus service to Port Authority) less than a mile away. The room we had was a King suite. It was extremely clean and seemed new to me. Large TVs in both the sleeping area and the sitting area. It was very well furnished. The only thing I could find wrong was that the reading lights next the both sides of the bed did not work (the regular bedside lamps were fine). Lots of space including in the bathroom. The breakfast at this hotel was a little above average but pretty similar to what many other hotels offer. All in all, I wish I could have spent more time in here but we had to check out kind of early to avoid some bad weather.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, it was clean, employees were very nice and the breakfast was à WOW. Best location, not to far from Time Square. Took the bus infront of the Super 8 up the road for $3.50 per person which was perfect. We will be back in 2020 for another family trip with my Dad.

My parents and my fiancée and I each got rooms for a two night stay for a NYC trip for my birthday weekend. The hotel is newer and everything was really clean and decorated nicely. The breakfast was great, with a lot of options. Our rooms were clean and the bed was extremely comfortable! The hotel has its own parking garage which is extremely convenient. They do have a shuttle that comes directly to the hotel at certain times but we did not utilize this shuttle. We walked the short distance to the super8 to catch the shuttle there for a little cheaper. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking to explore NYC and I will be staying here again on my next trip to NYC!

I was there for 6 nights and the stay was excellent. Big rooms and lobby for breakfast that is good and enough. Staff is very helpful and they will assist you for roaming. They have shuttle to go to New York center but take it only one way , there evening timings are not correct. I recommend this hotel but keep in mind they will ask you to pay for avoidable things

A hidden Gem if you plan to vist New York and experience themelting pot That Union City, North Bergen, West New York and NYC has to offer. Great Culinary experience too. Go beyond tacos. Try the Cuban Cuisine and your first Ceviche. Just to mention a few.

I was impressed with this hotel. Full size fitness center, bar, great breakfast. The hotel is practically new and very clean. Rooms were large and the bed was very comfortable. Friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again.

This goes without saying, the city is incredibly. The hotel is also very good, the commute is good also, various busses can take you to NY for less than 4 usd and it takes about 20 minutes. Uber is very pricey though, no less than 44 usd. The hotel is clean, rooms are comfortable and big, the towels are also comfy:) The personnel at front desk is great, starting for Henry :D, very nice and helpful, so is Manuel and all others. Personnel in charge of the breakfast area not very friendly nor helpful, except for the ones from south or/and central america, there is one Ecuadorian woman very attentive and nice. Breakfast hasn't great variety but is good. Overall, is a good place and well located.

We stayed at this hotel so conveniently located next to the Lincoln Tunnel. Each day we took the shuttle into New York. The hotel had everything we required...pleasant knowledgeable staff, was clean with a comfortable bed and was quiet. While there is no restaurant, the lounge does serve salads, quesadillas etc.

We chose this hotel for its vicinity to Manhattan, Newark airport, Cape Liberty cruise port and Jets stadium. This ticked all boxes and exceeded our expectations!! Spent 3 nights here. On day 1 we arrived from cruise port early at around 10am. Our king size room wasn't available but we were able to leave our bags at reception and catch the 10:30am shuttle bus to Times Square ($15 per person round trip - an awesome deal!!). Hotel room was excellent - large with all the usual amenities that I'm used to at more expensive hotels ... been a while since we've stayed at a BW and will definitely stay at another one after this one! Breakfast was adequate... and really like the 24 hr coffee and water station in the lobby. One of the highlights of this hotel is the laundry room which proved a blessing after a 9 day cruise!! Also like the lounge/bar (open from 6pm to late) that has decent food and drink options. Note: the neighborhood around the hotel does not have eating places within short walking distance. Anyway - love this hotel and its friendly staff ... highly recommend this!

My family and I stayed here when we made a quick trip to NYC to see a play. It's a very nice hotel very close to the Lincoln Tunnel, so you are in Times Square in about 20 minutes. It's a great location. The room was BIG and clean and very comfortable. The beds were super comfy and they have black-out curtains so you can sleep in if need be. It's also very quiet - we didn't hear a single thing when we were in our room. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they serve breakfast in the lobby every morning. Pancakes, waffles, eggs and sausage, cereals, muffins, toast etc. Everything you could want for breakfast, and it's included in your stay. Next trip to NYC we will stay here again for sure.

I came here with my cousins and sisters, as a group vacation to New York. Honestly the price per night for this hotel is a steal. Excellent and friendly staff, very clean hotel rooms, overall VERY happy!

We would like to thank everyone for the great service we got staying at this hotel for a week. After a crazy travel day we arrived at this hotel and got an free upgrade as a surprise. We are very thankful for that. We stayed in the biggest room (suite) with everything we needed. Very helpful staff must I also mention. The hotel are very lucky to have such a professional and helpful people working there. I can recommand the yellow taxi from the airport to the hotel, if you had a long journey, but it is quite expensive. Or, take the bus fra the airport to Manhatten, and take an Uber from there to the hotel. Or order an Uber all the way. The Uber app shows the prices and please be aware and be sure that the number on the app is the same on the car. From the hotel to Manhatten, you have the possibility to take the ShuttleBus (see the times om the pictures I added, or ask the staff). Another option is to take a regular bus (which is much cheaper) 8 min from the hotel (ask the staff for information and directions). Or you can download the Uber App and order an Uber inn to town. This hotel has great beds and it looks very nice and clean. But the breakfast and the bar has better potential. I am sure this can be better, because of the great staff which are genuin and helpful. They are there to make the guests happy :-)

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were visiting NYC for about 6 days for our 2nd anniversary. This was a great option as we saved quite a bit of money by not staying in Manhattan. Of course, traveling from hotel to the city and back used up more time, it was still fairly an easy process and really did save money. There is a shuttle that picks up and drops off right at the hotel, which we used a few times and was very convenient. We used this as well as the public bus option to get to and from the city. I am also a BW Rewards member and was able to receive 2 of our 5 nights for free (thanks to points I had earned and a voucher). The customer service was excellent, room was clean, bed was comfy, it was just a great stay overall. I definitely recommend just based on the hotel alone, but also if you are visiting NYC and want to save some money or want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I booked to celebrate my daughters 7 birthday.She wanted to go to a swimming pool and this was a great stay.Staff is amazing.Franklin in the Front Desk is very professional,Yesse in the Breakfast area very sweet and kind.Ana from Housekeeping outstanding and specially Angelique Cruz (General Manager) is very professional and a great leader.

Hotel location was located in new Bergen of New Jersey, although there were not many restaurants around and need to walk minimum 1Km to grab some food for lunch or dinner. There is a bus transport up hill in 2 minutes operating by Spanish transport company names as “ Express service” which takes you to New York port authority bus station, I.e. central manhattan. Although breakfast is included with the room rate but varieties are less for guest to enjoy breakfast, suggest to increase the items or menu list to have more options in breakfast.

The hotel was very nice, super clean, wonderful staff, a little walk to catch a bus about 2 minutes and about 5 minute walk when dropped off to come back. The breakfast was good. Parking garage was nice.

My husband and I spend an afternoon at the Bronx Zoo and wanted to stay the night just outside of NY. This was a great place. Front desk staff were friendly, happy to provide recommendations on where to eat dinner etc. Rooms were clean, spacious, updated. The hotel offer a shuttle to Times Square. Cost $15. We did not use he shuttle because this isn't what we were here for on this trip but would definitely use it to avoid driving in the traffic and looking/paying for parking. Breakfast is included and overall it was a nice selection- eggs, meat, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles etc. We decided to drive to the town of Hoboken, which was only about a 20 minute drive. It was nice to walk around, be able to eat outside and of course stop at Carlo's bakery for a sweet treat! I would definitely recommend this place and come back both for families and couples.

They had everything I expected except the internet did not work on 7th floor. The breakfast is good. The lounge even better. I recommend you eat there. The Chinese restaurant down the block has very good food but get takeout. Not much seating. If you take Uber have them pick you up at the hotel. Don't select another close location. The driver may tell you to go to 29th street. First a visitor has no way of knowing where that is. Also it is far away down bad sidewalks. They will then cancel your ride and charge you $5. Just pick up at hotel. The bus stops at the top of the hill from Port Authority. A bit of a walk but not bad. Follow your gps. Enjoyed the stay.

This Hotel is sparkling clean and brand new. But Yessina Ortega and the continental breakfast was fantastic! She saved the day by bringing me a pancake when I gave up on the machine and walked away in frustration. Also, the eggs were delicious. I don't know how but it's a better continental breakfast. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. My son managed to vomit in the hotel room between the beds and the front desk helped us get housekeeping quickly in there, replace the bedding and helped clean the floor. It's nice to not have to smell that musty old hotel smell. This place and it's staff were great. I haven't had a chance to hit the nice pool and great gym area, just walked through it. Everything is brand new.

This was a nice clean hotel. The location was a little hard to find, but it was very easy to get to NYC from. It was nice to have a hotel with a lounge, so we could get a drink after we checked in. The bartender was wonderful and did a great job. Breakfast was included in the price and was fine.

Did an overnight here due to its proximity to NYC. Very reasonably priced compared to staying in the city. Beautiful newer property with gated garage parking which pleased us all as we were riding motorcycles. Might not seem to be in the best of areas but it works!

This is the perfect place for a family wanting to explore New York City. It's affordable because it's located just outside the city but it's extremely clean, comfortable and the staff is very professional, courteous and helpful! It has almost every amenity you'd need and some bonuses like the lounge and pool. Can't see the city at all but it's a short Uber ride (about 10-15 mins with no traffic) for around $30-50 depending on what time of day plus the Lincoln Tunnel toll which is $15 but you only pay that one way into the city. There is also a shuttle available that we planned on using for our trip home from the city but could not locate the pick up area at Port Authority to take advantage of this perk. It's $15 per person for round trip or $10 one way, which isn't too bad but only available at specific times. Franklin and Damian at the front desk are two of the most professional and helpful people that answered all of our questions and went above and beyond to make our stay there a perfect. One of my favorite amenities was the secure parking garage. It's gated at all times and there's plenty of room to park and easy access to your vehicle some several floors in the hotel. Check in and check out were the quickest and easiest I've ever experienced. You can even pre-register for both right from your phone online. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!

Our stay was perfect at the best western : the hotel was beautiful and really clean. The breakfast was excellent ( scrambled eggs, sausages, muffins, pancakes and waffle machine, cereals, yogurt...) And we had access to a shuttle going to NY city (41th street/broadway) and free inside parking. I recommand this hotel to everyone :) the only downside is the area where it is situated. You wint be going for a pleasure stroll there but otherwise, everything is perfect!

Great choice for a quick overnight to be able to easily take a bus into NYC and leave the car parked in the parking garage at Best Western. Walk up the hill and catch the bus in front of the Super 8 and it's $3.50pp/per trip. With a family of five, we really appreciated the the filling breakfast included with the cost of the room and that it was much more extensive than your standard coffee/bagel continental breakfast. Rooms were clean. Front desk was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

If visiting NYC, this hotel in NJ is a short commute. Shuttle buses are available for transport. The rooms are a decent size, very clean and most importantly with comfortable beds. The breakfast was nice and the garage facility was an added bonus for safe parking. Overall a wonderful stay and experience!

NYC gateway is a quaint hotel that seems 7/10 from outside looking in, but with the lounge, pool, fitness center, and business center, which are almost always empty enough to be aptly enjoyed and offer panoramic views of Manhattan

This is a good place to stay with family and friends. Rooms are clean, updated and services are at the best. Location to Times Square and other NYC destination are close by and easy to take on shuttle service. I arrived one night late but I had booked from the previous night. On request the Hotel manager and staff were understanding and refunded 50% of the stay for the 1st day. This is the kind of service and understanding a hotel mgmt and staff should have towards their guests. Making money is one thing, providing service goes a long way in the hospitality industry. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and would myself stay on my next visit.

From check in to check out my experience was great. Great service, availability, courtesy, speed. Very clean hotel. Spotless. The location is pretty good. Just double check with outsourced companies about the free cancellation option because it is not free. Western has a specific policy where cancellation fees apply.

This hotel went beyond my expectations, great service, staff were really friendly and informative on how to get transportation to Times Square! rooms were clean. For breakfast they had a variety of options to chose from(really good breakfast), to get to Times Square we took the public transportation which it was the cheapest $3.50 for person they will take you to the bus terminal by the New York Times and to come back to the hotel they will pick you up on the same place and for the same price! Hotel also has free parking which it was really convenient and also save its a garage parking lot!!! Overalll this hotel was the best option and would recommmend it, really friendly staff at the front desk and really informative!

This hotel is a gem in a not-so-appealing area. The staff were professional, courteous, helpful, and friendly. Alicia, front desk, phoned me to offer a complimentary upgrade, which I accepted. The room was twice the size of the room I reserved and worked well traveling with small children. The original room was a double Queen room and we ended up with a king bed room and a separate living room with a pull out sofa. There are many options for breakfast; something for everyone. The staff was extremely helpful. I didn't get the name of our chef but on Tuesday July 16th, the food was excellent--seasoned well and very accommodating for all special needs. The rest of the days was exceptional as well. The food was always ready and if something ran out, they replenished it. The parking garage is free. To get in you have to call the front desk but we did not have an issue, they open the gate every time. To depart the garage the gate opens automatically. The first day the pool was cloudy, it looked like the filter wasn't running but it was okay the next day. There is a shuttle to go into the city but down the block the Super 8 has a $3 shuttle as opposed to $10. Definitely would stay here again and recommend.

This hotel was a great find! New, clean, spacious and quiet. The front desk were very accommodating and helpful. They let us check in 3 hours early, and helped us organize our transportation. This hotel is a little walk if you are using public transportation - like 10 min, but well worth it unless you want to spend $ on the hotel shuttle.

I have stayed at this Best Western a couple of times with my boyfriend. This time we used the amenities a lot more. The gym served its purpose for my early morning workouts, the pool was super clean & perfect for a hot day. The breakfast has a very good variety & the space where it is served was very well organized. Since day one I have loved the rooms, the decor, the comfortable beds, everything! This is by far my favorite hotel!

A wonderful stay. This hotel had an indoor pool. The bed are so comfy and room cozy. I would stay here again for sure. Close to a lot but need Uber or a vehicle that I can recall. I enjoy my stay here.

This place is a gem. Super high quality hotel for a fraction of the price. The hotel felt brand new and the location is perfect to get in and out of the city. We took one of the many buses for less than $20 for a group of 6 people. So much better than the high priced hotels in the city. This trip has completely changed my opinion of Best Western and I plan to look for these BWP hotels wherever I travel. Nicely done!

What a great spot. Easy to get anywhere from here. Staff is very helpful. Nice clean rooms, bar is nice too. Beds are very comfortable. Rooms super clean. We had our daughter with us, she loved the pool. I would definitely stay here again. Another great best Western!!

Needed a budget-friendly hotel option for a last minute family trip to NYC. This was a good option for us. The hotel is very nice, clean, and modern. The staff were very courteous across the board. The rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable for all, they have a good selection which adds to the value, especially for a family. Kids went in the pool once and enjoyed it. They have an evening lounge if you want to take a breather and grab a drink after a long day of NY exploration. We were very pleased with the hotel itself. The immediate location is fair. To get to NYC they offer a convenient and affordable shuttle service that takes you to Times Square. We opted for the bus/city shuttle which was like $3.25/person to go into town and it drops you off at the Port Authority in Times Square which worked perfect for us. We did events late in the evening so we opted for Uber/Lyft for rides home which are a bit pricey ($50-60), but it was the most logical for us. Although the shuttle does have a 10:30pm return option. Needless to say, there are options and affordable ones at that. Very pleasant experience for all and I definitely would recommend this as a price-friendly option, with adequate space, and atmosphere of decompression after a full day in NYC.

I been here a couple times and I never had a bad experience! Bring the fiancé with me to catch a Yankees game. This was perfect and only 38 minutes from stadium parking (we left bottom of the 8th). Rooms are great and if you can swing a suite I would go for it!

We stayed at this hotel from 8 June till 11 June in room 722, it must rate as the quietest room we have ever stayed in! No banging doors, no through wall noises etc. The room is of good size, with excellent blackout blinds. The breakfast is varied and very good variety. The free secure parking is a great asset. The reception staff are all very good, there is a hotel shuttle service to Times Square at$10 dollars 1 way or for a short walk you can get a bus for $3.25. Definitely would stay at this Best Western again!

Beautiful hotel, clean and staff was very helpful. For the price nice that breakfast, wifi and parking were complimentary. Also nice location, for anyone traveling to NYC they have a free shuttle until 9pm and nearby there is bus service that runs 24 hours for less than $5. Would def. stay again.

Hotel was close to NY and near turnpike to NJ. Conveniently located to shopping mall and restaurants. It had free breakfast which was okay, hold and cold foods, an inside pool, gym and bar area which serves food located on the 5th floor. Room was roomy and clean. Bathroom was roomy with plenty of counter space. Beds were clean and somewhat comfortable. Free parking was a nice touch. They have a shuttle to NY for a small fee however we didn't use it.

Everything was perfect for everything but for breakfast... so bad that we paid to go somewhere else for days 2 and 3. Really close from NYC, good shuttle service at reasonable price and local bus transportation also available near the hotel

This hotel was such a great surprise! Besides a great price (especially for the amenities, cleanliness, and security) the hotel staff went above and beyond for us! We were in town for a large concert at MetLife Stadium, which is 6hrs away from our home, and we had to stay in our car the night before...no hotels anywhere. When we arrived at the Best Western Premier it was 5hrs before check in. We hung around a while and grabbed some lunch. The kids were getting bored and we so needed to be out of our car. Although the hotel was completely booked, the front desk allowed us to swim before check in (after they heard our story) and then surprised us with an early check in! We were so grateful! The hotel is very secure, had a great breakfast, pool, clean rooms and even a shuttle into NYC. We will definitely stay again!

Great customer service, excellent, friendly wait staff, extra clean rooms, comfy beds, convenient location to NYC and Metlife Stadium. Everything was perfect for our stay and if you need anything extra for your trip they have it in the lobby. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip to NYC!

The overall visit with this location was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Though typically a similar menu at every location they were very creative with presentation and taking extra care to provide both regular chinaware and disposable ware. I thought that was very thoughtful. I like that they took the extra time to consider needs to that extent. Plus they have we typically look for in a location, from the swimming pool to the fantastic gym where they offer the “Gym in a bag” (excellent idea) even the free parking garage attached to the hotel this was extremely awesome! *In my honest opinion the only “complaint” I had was the view out my window was a little disappointing. Being a top sales person for my company I do look out a lot for these things. I believe that because of that view it could either make or break a lot of sales. (Perhaps it could be converted to some other use) I would rather see them make more sales since they offer such excellent service. Other than that everything else about our stay was beautiful. They have an excellent team who went out of their way to make sure this stay was so awesome. I would like to commend these members of your staff: Henry, Brandon and Alicia for going out of their way to make sure that all of my needs for my stay were accommodated particularly because we were celebrating two happy events a birthday and a graduation. They did such a excellent job answering questions about any of my needs and making this a most comfortable stay. We will look forward to many more visits in the future.

A great stay, good hotel, clean, quiet and relaxing. Staff were great! I enjoyed my time at the lounge as my wife and daughter attended the BTS concert. The hotel has a shuttle, to the show which was great for all.

Stayed here on business, the parking is secure. The pool and fitness center is more than accommodation. The bed was very comfortable, shower was very clean .my favorite thing about this hotel , there is a door that separates your room from the elevators , for a business traveler like myself this makes a impeccable difference when your get to sleep in

from the minute I checked in to checking out, the hotel staff were very accommodating! from the front desk, to the kitchen staff. Being the first time in New York, everyone was very helpful in where to go and how to get there. I would defiantly come back to this hotel!!

Stayed here or 5 nights when visiting New York City. Great location. Easy to get to downtown NYC from here. Took the $3 shuttle fro Super 8 Hotel about 3 minutes away. It seemed to run constantly. Never had to wait long. the Hotel was lovely, friendly, the rooms were very nice. Shower was amazing. i would stay here again any time i comeback to NYC. Hghly recommend this hotel.

Decent rates for spacious rooms and all the amenities I could ask for only 5-20 minutes from Midtown depending on time of day. Free parking in a secure garage with elevator access on each floor made coming and going as easy as can be. Staff and housekeeping were helpful and friendly. Media hub with HDMI input allowed streaming content to the large tv via laptop which was great because of the limited cable channels offered. Refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker in the room were useful. From a single night to an extended stay this is a great choice.

First time staying here and I fully recommend! It is not too far from NYC but it was a nightmare going across the tunnel. So keep travel time in mind if you are staying here but traveling into New York. We had the king room and it was spacious enough, very clean and well-appointed. We did have trouble regulating the a/c unit, but we were only there for one night so we just dealt with it. Some of the lights did not work, but again, for one night it was no biggie. If we were staying longer we'd definitely call the staff to assist. Nice amenities in the bathroom (including makeup remover!), plenty of towels and soap, etc. Very comfortable room and I'd stay again.

Hotel is on the local bus line for a reasonable trip into and out of New York, Hotel is excellant and the staff great. Having a lounge is a nice addition and the breakfast was wonderful. Cleaning staff did a good job but a little late in the day for those staying another night

Staff are nice & helpful, particularly Henry at the Front Desk is a very helpful person. The Room we got was extremely large, nice & very cleaned. Housekeeping staff (we didn't meet anyone personally) have been very professional and cleaned the room everyday, changed towels everyday! Towels & Linen are very cleaned & pure white. Breakfast was also reasonably laid out and enough to get going with the day! We checked-in around 02:00 hrs. due to late flight arrival. When we entered the reception there were 3 guests talking to the reception for a long time, looks like receptionist were unable to find their booking or something, so we were standing in front of the reception for a long time in spite of being very late and tired! So, it was not a that good welcome late in the night/early morning! No restaurant in the hotel. But there is a bar on the top floor which serve very limited food. We had Pizzas on one night that was not that good. Shuttle bus was a great help though they charge money, since no public transport nearby. However, Shuttle bus operators were not that professional or respect the timings stated, it was looks like a ‘family run' business so they make & break their rules! Sometime they accepted the credit card, sometime didn't! Talking so loudly, screaming, bus change few blocks after, so guests have to do a musical chair!

I liked the experience of being in a hotel with normal sized big rooms, free breakfast, and free parking and being so close to the city. The breakfast was really good. You should know that you need to walk over to the Super 8 and get a shuttle at any time to get to Manhattan. It takes only 20 minutes of so and you are there! The shuttle takes you under the Lincoln tunnel to Port Authority. and it only costs 3.25 one way. Coming back you do have to walk a little bit from the Gulf station in North Bergen to get back to the hotel, so this is only for people who are willing to walk a little. The Hotel itself was very nice except for the pool. The pool was a major disappointment as it was not clean and there was grease floating on the top of the water. If you don't care so much about that, this is the place for you!

One again, Best Western blows me away again! This hotel was an incredible price for the area. It is a new hotel and is in pristine condition. If you have never been to North Bergen, NJ, don't expect much. (Think, Cleveland). It's dirty, commercialized, but relatively safe. However, this Best Western is a shiny star in the desert! Literally. If this hotel was in Midtown Manhattan, it would easily be a $300/night room. The room was good size and absolutely 100% clean. The room and hotel was modern and new. The room included a microwave and mini fridge. There was an in room safe. The bathroom included essential toiletries/hair dryer/clean towels/Kleenex , a walk in shower, bathroom mirror with heated fog-free mirror. Nice hot water with good water pressure. Air conditioning worked great! The pool on the 5th floor was nice and clean. The free breakfast was very good. Parking is very safe and secure. Parking is free in a hotel owned, secured, parking garage. The parking garage is part of the hotel building and you never have to leave the secure garage to access the hotel. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute ride to the Journal Square Path train station. Nice and easy commute to NYC, without the traffic issues or parking prices. This is EASILY the best hotel in North Bergen, NJ. It might be the best value for the NYC region.

Super close to the city, but not the crazy traffic in the city. Also close to MetLife Stadium to enjoy concerts, games and events. Clean, courteous and accommodating. They offer a shuttle service to both the city and MetLife. Very helpful.

Great staff that always wanted to give you the best service. Rooms were clean and comfortable, lounge had good food and great service. Plenty of additional perks after I arrived, like shuttle service to the city.

Great proximity and price when visiting New York! Although I assumed the shuttle into NY would be at no cost, the $15 shuttle roundtrip was worth the cost. One note about the sorrounding area is its closeness to industrial businesses.

Our stay was awesome! There was only 1 elevator running and sometimes we would wait up to 15 minutes for an elevator. We took the steps most of the time but after walking the city all day the last thing we wanted to do was take the steps. Everything else was great!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the BW Premier NYC Gateway Hotel. It was a very clean and well-run hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We took full advantage of all of the hotel amenities. Our teenagers loved the pool and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the pool area. We enjoyed the lounge all three nights we stayed and we highly recommend "shooting the breeze" with bartender Craig. We had dinner in the lounge one night and it was good food and a large quantity of it for what we paid. It was convenient to use the private shuttle to get into downtown NYC quickly and easier. We were overall very impressed with this hotel, the general manager Will, and our new favorite bartender Craig.

The cost, the location, the ambiance and overall feel of the hotel was fresh and clean. It is central to NY and parts of NJ that many people like to access. I will be staying there again. If I had additional time, I would have booked for additional nights. This will be my go-to spot moving forward. Oh, and the FREE parking and breakfast didn't hurt.

I stayed at this hotel for one night with my wife and 2 daughters(Babies). Upon check-in I was charged Twice for deposit since i decided to use a debit card and during checkout I was charged $300 for a nonsmoking policy in which I have not violated. I have babies in the room and they felt the need to charge me $300 when they obviously see me in their survilence walking multiple times to their designated smoking area to smoke my cigarettes. Immidiately after seeing the charge, only 1hour I check out I returned demanding I see the room (note: when a person smokes in a facility, the oder sticks around for a while) I called the police to file a police report for fraudulent charge. I'm a platinum member, I respect all hotel rules. folks please think twice before staying at this hotel.. refunds granted and now I'm stuck waiting for the double deposit of $50ea and $300 to clear back in to my account...

My boyfriend and I were staying in New Jersey to make our Trip cheaper because we were seeing a broadway show and didn't want to spend all of money on a hotel. The priemere best western was a perfect inbetween price. We switched hotels last minute due to wanting better hotel quality and for the money we paid for our one night stay, it was worth it. We had a king sized bed, which was so comfortable, the rooms have their own thermostats so we could set the temperature to make it comfortable for us. The staff was very nice. The TV in our room was huge. The bathrooms were extremely clean. It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

Every time we visit NYC, we stay here. It is only a 20 min drive to Tines Square Hotel is clean, friendly, quiet and breakfast is terrific. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious. Beds are confortable. Staff is great.

Nice, well maintained hotel where you can park your car and take an Uber anywhere you need to go for alot less. Breakfast was good, bar is nice, rooms are clean and comfortable. Only complaint is laundry hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and they will lock your clothes in there.

I loved my stay here. The staff were excellent, facilities too grade, with complimentary breakfast and great all round services including parking. The location worked well because it was close enough to most places of interest in Newark

I deleted my last review because I didnt give good details and the response from the general manager was a complete lie! Friday March 8th myself, my husband and 3 children, 17, 11, and 3 checked into this hotel. We drove from Pittsburgh Pa for our daughters prom dress fitting. Everything was great. Our stay was free,our points took care of the stay. My card was only charged 50.00 for incidentals. The hotel was nice and cleaned, we didnt get a chance to enjoy it because we got in late off the road. In the morning I called and was told we can check out at 1. We checked out and on our way back to Pittsburgh I checked my account and there was a 250 pending charge. At first I was very calm, thinking it was a mistake and it would be an easy fix. Welllll calm went out the window very quick when I was told they charged a smoking fee because they found something in the trash that shows someone was smoking then they lied and said they smelled smoke. I told them that I dont smoke but my husband does but no one smoked in the room. I was yelling and very upset because they lied on us. After going back and forth with the rude GM I told him I was disputing it and hung up. I hope when something tragic happens to him or his family he thinks about the 300 dollar charge and the lie they told on us. Yup. That's right 300 not 250 today I looked and they took the 50.00 and 250. Karma is real and as God is my witness he can kill me right now if I'm lying no one smoked im our hotel room. I have no reason to lie. Dont forget us when something happens cause nothing good will come to any of you liars

The hospitality will make you feel as though you're in your own home. Excellent service. Absolutely recommend this hotel. Delicious breakfast on a daily basis. Hotel was very clean and it's very safe.

We stayed from friday the 1st of february to sunday the 3rd. We came from Montréal to visit New-York City. The hotel was recommended to us bya couple who stays at this hotel when they do to NYC. The shutthle service that picks you up in front of the Super 8 hotel is the best! Super cheap, 3,25$ to go to the city and it passes every 15 minutes, but we never waited more than 5. It picks you up in Times Square almost, passes very often legit never had to wait for that shuttle it was always there and left immediately when we got on it.The service at the front desk was amazing. Everything was so easy and the staff is very curteous. We were 4 in a room and upon arrival 4 towels were already there. We were expecting to have to ask for 2 more dispite our reservation for 4. Amazing!The breakfast was so so so good. As good as a restaurant! On our last day I got a late check out at 12:00pm for no additionnal fee. The only thing is 2 people came knocking at my door between 11 and 12 because they didnt know I had a later check-out... So that woke me up twice. I was tired and decided to sleep in that day. When i checked-out, i slept on the sectionnal couch beside the entrance and slept like a baby. It wasnt noisy and the couch was really comfortable lolI REALLY recommend this hotel for its clealiness, price and location!

Staff members were extremely helpful and provided great information on area restaurants, events, and transportation tips which saved us a lot of money. Rooms are new, clean, spacious, beds comfortable.

This hotel is a gem, from the views from the pool, to our clean hotel room and stunning bathrooms. This made my sisters birthday get away to NYC incredible. I will definitely be back and recommend to my friends and family especially when traveling to NYC

We were very pleased with the experience at this BW. All of the staff were extremely pleasant & helpful. The room was very clean and updated. The window had a great room darkening shade. The parking garage is gated.

Best hotel I stayed in this region of New Jersey. My room was very clean and nice. I did have a king suite and must say this was a pretty big suite. They have secure parking. And within 20 minutes I was at my meeting in lower Manhattan.

Hotel is new and modern. Rooms were a good size and ours had 2 queen beds. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Parking was included. Breakfast was included and was one of the better ones I have had, lots of options, replenished quickly. And free WiFi. For a family of 4 we used Lyft instead of the shuttle bus ~$30 gets you into Manhattan in 15 minutes. The most memorable part of our stay was the visits to the lounge. By far this has to be the friendliest bar in the area. Craig Hale was our server, he chatted with us and gave us all kinds of tips for our stay. The specialty drinks were very good, and came with complimentary mixed nuts. Thanks Craig!

Excellent location to the City and Lincoln Tunnel. Newer property. Great Value. Comfort beds and nice amenities. Highly recommend and will stay again. Friendly staff and very luxurious for the over night stay dollars spent.

The hotel was very clean. The room was large enough for a family of 4 with 2 teens. The beds were extremely comfortable which was exactly what we needed after walking around in NYC all day. Shuttles were there on time daily. The breakfast was hot and fesh. Will definitely return.

This hotel is fantanstic if you want to stay away from the hustle bustle of the city but stay in close proximity to it as well. The rooms are clean and modern, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is vast and fulfilling. The only downside of this hotel is the method of transportation to arrive in the city. An uber would cost roughly $40 and it is too far to walk so you are left with taking the bus with this hotel. The busses run regularly at a pick-up location not far from the hotel but drop you off about half a mile away from the hotel on your return trip. Overlooking this, my experience at the Best Western Premier NYC Gateway was undoubtly pleasant and I would stay here again.

This has been one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The breakfast had been nothing short of delicious every single day. Items like ham and eggs; bacon, eggs and cheese; spinach and eggs were on the rotation. The only criticism I could offer is for the breakfast staff to keep a closer watch on what's been depleted. At one point there was around 10 people waiting for items to be replenished. Every staff member I've had contact with has been beyond friendly and helpful. Maybe finding a different shuttle service would good. Those guys are beyond rude. And I'm not talking about an NY attitude. Just straight rude and dismissive. Not fitting of the hotel at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the NYC area.

A very short drive to New York City, the hotel is extremely comfortable and well appointed. Art on the lobby and corridors is NYC signature buildingns. Everything is very clean, bed very comfortable. Plenty of towels,pillows.

Car was stored in a safe gated garaging facility.Clean/warm breakfast - nothing too extravagant but more than couple muffins and coffee, i.e. eggs, sausage, waffles etc

We were looking for a hotel close to NYC without the NYC price tag and cramp quarters. Conveniently located near NYC. Great value for the price. Enjoyed the breakfast and the shuttle service. First Best Western experience and my family and I enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend

After check-in, and employee let himself into our room without knocking to say he was investigating a noise complaint. We said we had just checked in and hadn't heard anything. At this point, I took my children to the pool while my husband ordered a pizza. While we were at the pool, my husband said the same employee returned three times to ask if we had gotten the extra bedding we requested...which he had previously delivered... My husband thought this was odd. But unfortunately not odd enough that it prevented him from leaving his wallet on the dresser when he went to the lobby to pick up our pizza. He pulled $20 from his wallet to pay, and left the wallet in the room. He went immediately to the pool area to get us, and we returned to our room, oblivious to what had happened. The next morning, we went to our wallets to grab some cash to bring to NYC with us, as we didn't want to travel without our cash. My husband immediately noticed that money was missing, and asked if I had taken it. I hadn't. We had arrived at the hotel the night before and hadn't left, and had no need for money yet. He asked me to check my wallet (which had been zipped into my backpack, tucked away beside the TV console) and I, too, was missing money, including some of our children's spending money for our trip. In total he stole $500, which was half of our vacation money. When we went to the front desk to tell them, and explained the staff members behaviour the day before, the front desk employee said that no noise complaint had been made the day before (the employee said that he was going floor to floor to try and identify the source of the noise). My son also mentioned at this point that when we arrived at the hotel, this same employee walked around our van a couple of times and checked out our license plate, which my son thought seemed odd. In hindsight, he was casing us and saw that we were from Canada, and were likely to have larger amounts of US cash on us due to travelling. The general manager at first defended the employee, saying that entering our room four times for his stated reasons wasn't out of the norm. One employee told us they would call the police on our behalf, and then later another employee dissuaded us from calling the police because “New Jersey police are lazy and won't do anything about it.” In the end, the hotel comp'd our stay, but this didn't detract from the fact that we were out half of our vacation money, which limited our planned activities.

As a diamond member I haven't been on this property but my Aunt from Austria stayed in this hotel when they were looking for a nice hotel close to New York. So I booked a room for my aunt. I ask my aunt how was there stay? She said it was awesome. Last month I have a friend looking for a hotel close to New York and I said this hotel is awesome because my aunt stayed there before. I booked a night stay. First he couldn't do early check in, I understand it was very early but I checked after midnight there's a room available. He decide to go to New York all day didn't go back to the hotel to check in around 1 am. They got in the room just to find out their someone on the room. So who ever is in the there room, their key card worked. That is a safety issue. Second was the breakfast they said it was ok. Didn't fill up all the food so it was constantly running out. I don't know if I want to stay in this property as a diamond member.

I can't sing the praises enough for this hotel. From the ease of finding it, to the secure parking, friendliness of staff, cleanliness of the entire facility, good size swimming pool, and close proximity to the park and ride, this place is a must! I highly recommend this location, and want to thank all staff for their professionalism, helpfulness, and friendliness. Kudos to the entire staff! We stayed at this hotel one night to provide quick, easy, less expensive access to Manhattan on a weekend in December. This hotel fulfilled all of these requirements and more! Complimentary breakfast was also available. Staff was very helpful and room was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend and will definitely return to this hotel!!

Was charged for entire stay the morning of check-in. Then, upon check in, was charged another nights stay PLUS a security deposit. I immediately spoke with the front desk who assured me it was a mistake and would be reversed in several DAYS. I checked out on Sunday. For whatever reason, my original charge was also reversed and done in two separate charges instead. Then, on Monday, discovered I was charged for a THIRD time. Me, being silly, thought for sure it must be a mistake, but by Wednesday it was not reversed. Spoke with the front desk who again had to tell me how they screwed up and have once again assured me it's being reversed. Had I not seen it, they would have kept their money. I don't know what these people are doing but if you want to keep your money, do not go here. If you don't care that you may pay double for your stay, the hotel itself is very nice, rooms are great. The shuttle is easy enough to use. The secured parking garage is nice to have.

New Hotel very clean and modern. Very close to Time Square. Free breakfast and it was good!!! Tip for getting to NYC. The shuttle they offer is perfect. If you don't want to wait you can walk around the corner to the bus stop (past Suoer 8 and Aldis) and take the NJ Transit city bus to NYC. They both drop you off 5 min from Times Square. Both are safe and clean and have friendly drivers. Coming back I couldn't figure out which bus to take. I grabbed a shuttle (small white bus) in front of the New York Times building and you get dropped at 31st and Kennedy (Exxon gas station) then it's a 10 min walk to the hotel. The area felt very safe and we were walking late at night back to the hotel. Parking at the hotel is in a secure attached parking garage. Also they have great showers and great water pressure. Good sized fridge and microwave. Loved it and we will be back!!

This is such a great hotel with easy access to the city. They have a shuttle that picks you up at the front door and drops you off at Broadway and 41st street. One way is $7 or round trip is $12. The hotel its self if very clean and the rooms are well set up. Breakfast is more than ample, some items not super warm at times, but it is what it is. I would definitely stay here in the future.

This was a great hotel for the location we wanted to stay at; won't lie, without being from the area it took us a little bit to get to the hotel after missing our turn but if you have a GPS then its a breeze to get to. Just a note; you will have to check in first as they have the parking area closed off by a gate and if you decide to travel and get back to the hotel you will have to call them or walk inside to have them open the gate. That being said; I like that option as it gives my vehicle a little more safety. As for parking they have more then enough parking and thats saying something as I got this hotel when the Thanksgiving parade was ready to being; there are 4 levels of parking with easy access to the hotel and elevators for the guest. Checking in was a breeze and they made it easy and fun by giving information on the hotel and the NYC area as well as offering shuttles to NYC which was great, only downside is you have to pay for the shuttle but it makes it easy if you don't want to drive in to NYC. I had already had parking setup at an Icon so I didn't use the shuttle. The offer a bar area and there is food close by. The decorate the lobby when we were there and had a nice area with a Christmas tree and we used this option to take photos which they were more than glad to help us with photos. When leaving I had left stuff in the room I stayed in and when I called they had already found it and then worked with me on getting it setup to send it back to me; I did have to pay for shipping but that was on me as I forgot the items but Alicia at the hotel was great for helping me out on this. The other great thing on this hotel was the price for the two nights where it only cost me 305.00 for the two nights. Overall a great hotel. Thank you.

We stayed for 8 days. The suite was very big, clean, modern and the bed was so comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The proximity to Lincoln tunnel and Manhattan was a real advantage and I took the hotel shuttle into Manhattan while my husband was working in NJ. Would have liked some fresh vegetables with breakfast. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend.

We booked (via Expedia) one night at this hotel around 6.00 pm November 15th 2018, in the middle of that awful unexpected snow storm. It was soooooo bad it took us 5 hours 30 minutes to get there driving from Clifton, NJ! I knew for a fact the hotel accept a 300.00 $ deposit cash for incidentals (I had called them during the day). The front desk agent refused to check us in. He had the nerves to be condescending when our booking was already paid for. He lied that they couldn't accept cash at this hotel, and coldly asked us to call Expedia to cancel the booking, then the hotel would be able to issue a refund. At midnight, after having driven almost 6 hours, pregnant, snow falling hard outside and traffic being insane. This is the most despicable, inhumane, rude front desk agent I've ever met in my life! Eventually Expedia called me back (at almost 1.00 am!!!) to let me know the problem was fixed. The agent allowed us to check in with the $300.00 cash deposit. He even lied about granting us late checkout (found out in the morning there was no note about that) What a mess! He did not even know what the check out time was because he "only does the night shift"...appalling! To Management: such an unacceptable behavior. I travel a lot and that agent was just terrible (around 5'7, short dark haired, glasses). Just despicable! Now the hotel: -Pros: very clean, modern, big room (Executive King), huge TV with lots of channels, nice building/breakfast room and very close to the city. -Cons: very unhelpful night front desk team (all 3 of them), breakfast was average. The cleaning lady @ 8th floor was not respectful of the "Do not disturb" sign and kept coming back and banging at the door before checkout time. Very annoying and disrespectful. In general, good. However, I won't go back because of my bad experience with the personnel. Bad taste in my mouth.

We had problems finding the hotel. Paterson Plank road is abit strange in that, its a long road but curves to the left and we went straight! the hotel is nicely situated in North Bergen - not too far from the train station. Parking at the station is very expensive - $27 a day. Easy to get to NYC. We were allocated a good room. Checking in staff (Henrie) was very good and helpful during our stay. Cant say the same about the rest of the reception staff. They did not come across as helpful or friendly. Not a good attitude for a hotel to be successful in the long run. Price of room is pricey - we went in November. Breakfast was okay. We were not excited by the items. We stayed for 5 nights. On the 3rd night, the toilet stopped working. The guys came to sort it out but he could not. Were moved to another room. This was not that good. No one from reception made a call to us to find out if we were happy with the new room or to just say sorry you had to move! It may be this is the norm in USA but not in UK. Upon checkout they dont ask you if you had a good stay. Its a decent hotel but not convinced it is value for money.

Really nice hotel, very comfortable. Breakfast was great! Pool was small but nice. Good proximity to NYC. Close to ferry to NYC. They offer shuttle service to Time Square at a reasonable price. Exercise room was good. Bar was nice. Overall, staff was friendly. Location is questionable but the secure parking was awesome!

Hotel is right off of 495, easy to get too, just have to deal with normal traffic. Lady at front desk was very helpful and nice. Explaining the hotel as well as the shuttle bus that is provided. Parking is in a garage, spaces are small but oh well. Room was very clean, very modern and comfortable. Best was very soft, wasn't too comfortable, but was okay. Other nice amenities in room, fast WiFi, refrigerator. Would definitely recommend for the price.

Hotel is situated in a good location. We booked a shuttle bus and it took us directly to the centre. Return ticket is $12 and you have to book it in advance. Room was very nice and clean. Staff is kind. What I did not like was breakfast. Poor presentation and poor choice of food. We had waffles and scrambled eggs every day. Tables and cutlery were not clean.

You can not go wrong in choosing Best Western Premier NYC. Its clean, the breakfast is a full buffet from waffles to cereal. The beds are amazing we got a well deserved rest after hours of driving. The check in and check out process is easy and quick.

Stayed with some family and friends for a few days. Front desk staff was friendly and courteous. Rooms were nice and clean and comfortable. Cant beat the price. Breakfast was awesome before heading into the city. They only problem we had was at the bar. We got back from the city early so we decided to go have a few drinks. The bartender, a tall older gentleman, I believe his name was Greg or Craig, was rude to customers and staff. He left the bar quite a few times, each time coming back smelling like weed. My wife had left something in the car and when she went to retrieve it, she saw him in the parking garage getting high while on duty. This is unacceptable. How can management let this happen at this beautiful hotel? We are coming back for New Years and hopefully this problem is rectified

Great hotel located close to the Holland Tunnel, with shuttle service to Manhattan. Clean and spacious room. Good breakfast. Swimming pool and complementary indoor parking. The surroundings might not be the best, but if you have your own car it doesn't matter.

The hotel itself is wonderful. Nothing but good to say except that the address is incorrect and our Uber driver had a terrible time circling the location 4 times to find it. As it turns out,the hotel address is incorrect! So if you plan on staying here, use the 2630 number as this is the front of the hotel and 2650 as printed is the rear of the hotel. The shuttle service is sadly misrepresented. I called multiple times before booking, and I was assure that the shuttle ran throughout the day all day long. Not so.when we arrived shortly afrer 1:00 pm, we were told the next shuttle didn't run until 3:00,and were instructed to go to the Super 8 and take the bus. Shabby but it got us to NYC. Getting back to the hotel thru Port Authority was a nightmare. DONT EVER DO THIS! Even though the hotel shuttle charges more at 6:30, you must make a reservation and you STILL might not get on the shuttle, sometimes having to wait until 8:00. Still it is much safer than the bus at night because you are delivered to door. The bus has you walk a long way in a spooky,scarey neighborhood in the dark. The hotel has nothing near it, again misrepresented. Breakfast was nice, room was great, location awful.

Couple shuttles to and from Manhattan, very fast even at rush hour. Great breakfast that was included with the room. All the hotel staff were very helpful including Will Adamo the GM, and Henry Bowen. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget visiting the Big Apple.

We had a couple of great days staying at the Best Western Premier NY Gateway Hotel. From making our reservations to check out it was perfect. Great staff, great room, but more importantly safe, clean and peaceful. The shuttle service to NY city was a great option. This is our second stay and certainly not the last.

Where to start, bed excellent so comfortable, food breakfast continental but enough, bar staff Craig was friendly helpful, never used the pool but did investigate, laundry facilities $2.50 per load and again for tumble dryer. transfer to NY there is shuttle $7 single $12 return, or walk up Columbia Ave to the left of best western Super 8 old bus shuttle just $3.25 each single, drop of Port Authority or 42nd street.Runs more frequent that hotel. No need to book in advance as you do for hotel, Pick up corner 7/8th 41st. Drop off in jfk ave. or there is the Port Authority bus Number 125 to 28th and jfk ave stop after north Bergen at bus departure 214 door number 1 before 10pm (20 to the hour) or 303 after 10pm run every hour need to check only got caught out once! New Jersey Transit Bus area 2. Walk down the road level with dual carriage way, shopping mall on your right( cinema etc) past Aldi's and Sonic left at Super 8 into Columbia Ave and you can see Best Western on your left. One of a number of hotels holiday inn and two very cheap looking ones. Overall a wonderful stay. The desk staff where very helpful and very friendly, assisted us with downloading Uber to cruise terminal. Didn't get his name but he was patient and very helpful.

Affordable, comfortable, and nice decor. The shuttle to and from the hotel was handled by a third party, was ok, but good for the cost. The staff was kind and helpful (from check-in, complimentary breakfast, and check-out) Would stay again!

Excellent place to stay with the family. It's great after a long day to have access to the heated pool for the kids to play in. The hotel and the room were very clean and in excellent condition. I cannot day enough about the staff. All the staff I encountered were great and impressed me and the wife. When I see above average customer service I like to make sure people know. Henry who worked the front desk was on top of his game from check in to check out.

We can not say enough good things about our stay! We arrived in the middle of the night and the staff was welcoming and attentive to our 100 questions. Lol We went to NYC everyday and it was very affordable using the bus offered at the hotel. Our room was spotless and bed was comfortable. We are definitely adding Best Western to our list of preferred hotel chains!

I Recently stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, before & after spending the day in NYC. I live in western Jersey and didn't want to deal with morning rush hour(s) traffic, or driving home across the state late at night. The employees were very friendly, safe convenient garage, clean & updated rooms. I will be spending more nights here in the future, it was such a convenient & pleasant stay.

We always stay in NYC, but looked outside because the Knicks had a home game. We were very happy to find BWP and will definitely choose it again. It was nice to have a room where we actually had space, a fridge and a microwave... things that are hard to come by in the city.

Stayed 2 nights while visiting NYC for a hockey game on a guys trip. Parking is in a gated garage. All staff we encountered were quite friendly. The rooms were clean, in good shape and the breakfast offered many options. I will be returning and staying here with my family in the future when we visit the area.

This Best Western is outstanding!! My room was immaculately clean, very large, had a great soaking tub, and the bed was super comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. It was a treat to have free parking so close to NYC and the hotel has shuttle service to Manhattan. I had a great stay and will definitely return!

The pictures do not do the facility any justice. This hotel is super nice inside, clean rooms and quiet facility. The staff was amazing and extremely friendly. The pool area was nice, it did make me nervous because the entire pool was 4 feet 6 inches which does not accommodate those who cannot swim and little kids. The breakfast was nice and hot if they didn't have something out the staff had no problem going to get more. The is unique but they do compensate for parking, with a secured deck.

We were on our family vacation and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Now it becomes important to mention that we own a hotel ourselves and loved everything about this property. Check in was fast and efficient, rooms were clean and inviting. Breakfast had lot of choices and the area was kept neat and clean at all times. This was a great choice near NYC. Free parking. Good breakfast choices. Nice decor and clean rooms. Close to NYC and shuttle service to NYC available at reasonable price. Will stay here again if back to the area.

Marks given for a smooth and quick check-in. Private, safe garage parking was a wonderful plus. We were on vacation with family and needed three rooms. Each room was stylishly decorated and very clean. Breakfast the next morning is usually a hassle with trying to have six people sit together but surprisingly we were able to find a table and chairs perfect for our size. I was also delighted to see egg whites offered as an option for the hotel's breakfast buffet. This hotel has quick access to NYC. The drive only took about fifteen to twenty minutes. Would definitely stay here again!

Room was clean, Hotel staff were helpful and always smiling. Location was close to grocery stores, and Bus stops. There was all kinds of transportation very close by. I can usually find a issue with something as I am very picky...and honestly there was nothing I found to be wrong. Awesome place to stay and less than 15 mins by bus to the Port Authority Bus terminal!! Enjoy New York with a stay here!!

Stayed here in July and had an absolutely wonderful stay! We were a family group of 5 adults staying in one of the suites for 4 nights. The hotel was very clean and accommodating, the shuttle to NYC was convenient and cheap, the hotel breakfast was delicious and fresh, and the staff was AMAZING! Alicia and Manny at the front desk were so kind and helpful with any and all of our requests. The rest of the staff were Awesome including the night concierge, housekeeping manager and front desk manager who were all so professional and courteous when we ran into an issue with housekeeping on our last night. The staff corrected the issue right away, which was late in the evening. Was so pleased that they didn't wait until morning but resolved it right away and still accommodated us further with a late check out! I absolutely would give my business to the Best Western Premier NYC Gateway Hotel again and recommend it to all!

So first off is the neighborhood surrounding this place (and the other motels near it) will freak you out when you are approaching but not only is the neighborhood fine/not a factor, but the hotel is amazing. It's newly built so everything is crisp and clean and in great shape. The staff were amazing. The room was great. It has a lounge, free gated parking, located a literal stones throw from the Lincoln tunnel. There's a pool, fitness center, free breakfast (with real food), giant room with usb chargers, tv, microwave, fridge, safe... iron, hairdryer, basically everything and 20 minutes from anyplace in Manhattan you want to go. They even have a free shuttle into town several times a day. Can't recommend highly enough. Just don't be freaked out when GPS takes you through the projects and down what looks like someone's driveway to get there. Once on the grounds you'd think you were in a fancy Hotel. Which, you sort of are.

If your are visiting NYC, this hotel is a great option with a reasonably priced stay, and just a few minutes from Manhattan. Clean hotel, with large rooms, comfortable beds, complimentary breakfast, free on-site parking, and excellent wifi signal. At the same time, it's a quiet hotel, where the quality sleep is really good. They offer a shuttle service to and from Manhattan, I can remember at cost of 12$ per person. We did not use it, as we drove our car. In fact, you can drive your own car to Manhattan and park there (check for coupons and offers of iconparking, great deals). I would repeat if staying in the area.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The cleaning staff is amazing. Ana Rodriguez was our cleaner and Steven F.D. is the cleaning supervisor. Whatever we asked for they took care of. They were extremely accommodating. The hotel is immaculate thanks to the wonderful cleaning staff.

This place is great. The rest of the reviews here sum the hotel up nicely, but I just wanted to give special recognition to the staff. Steven especially was on-point. He provided wifi details to my nephew within seconds of our arrival and gave clear directions to the bus. He and the rest of the staff were very patient with my (somewhat) demanding family and it made our visit to the big city that much more easier and enjoyable. Will be back!

We enjoyed our stay. Everyone working there worked hard to make sure our time there was great. This hotel had laundry facilities, a bar, a pool, hot breakfast, beverages available all day, and a secured parking ramp. We were able to relax in our room with comfortable beds, a large screen tv, and the space to spread our items out on the granite countertops. I don't know why one would stay anywhere else. This hotel provides it all just minutes from Times Square in Manhattan.

Honestly the best breakfast service ever! Ms. Eileen was very welcoming and made sure we had the best time in the morning. Ron & Eddie also gave us great service! Last year we went to the same hotel and it was great experience.This year it was not. Checkout experience was bad.11 checkout and and they keep bugging to leave at 11. Breakfast we found flies around the food.staffs don't have courtesy. Rooms were good and clean..

The desk clerks were phenomenal. I had a late check-in, and the young man (unfortunately neglected to get the young man's name) and Steven at check out, were both ,very upbeat, personable, and professional. The hotel was modern and very clean; the same for the rooms. Breakfast was very good & plentiful; the clean-up staff was excellent, to the point of almost being too quick.

My wife, three teen children and I stayed here in two rooms for two nights while touring NYC recently. We could not have been any more pleased with our decision to stay here. Great location, very comfortable rooms, and friendly staff all exceeded our expectations.

This hotel was wonderful. I would definitely stay again. Not only was the price good, the service was exemplary. We stayed at a Westin in LA for the same price, but this experience was far superior. The room was large and updated. The bathroom was huge, clean, and updated with a soaking tub. We even had complimentary breakfast...which had everything from fresh fruit and yogurt to waffles with choices of toppings. The staff was super friendly and helped us first-timers learn how to get into New York and back. They even had shuttle service. I loved our experience. Thank you SO much!

This Hotel was a great surprise. Very good value for you to stay and close to New York City. The fifth floor pool was very clean and well kept. The bar/lounge was refreshing at the end of the day. The bus did not let us off where they said it would. Had to walk a distance to hotel but was very safe

First off, I have a bad back and the beds were good. The hotel was very clean. I was traveling alone with my daughters ages 16 and 14. We always felt safe. The garage parking had a huge gate, so I never worried about our car. The bus took us to Times Square and picked us up promptly. When it became clear that not everyone would fit on one bus, a second bus came quickly. I thought it was well worth the price.

The hotel was very good it's it's out of way and it has off-street parking in the garage so you don't have to worry about your vehicle I would feel comfortable staying again it's very quiet and you don't have to worry about anything it's just not near any food places you would have to drive

I had stayed here in March 2018 but since then they have changed managers. This hotel did not match up with my previous experience. The room was mostly clean but only one of the staff members was congenial at all (we borrowed a corkscrew). Other than that, most were dismissive if not downright rude. Oh, and they guard their water like it was the Holy Grail. Just bring your own bottled water and wash your own towels, you'll be fine.

Amazing breakfast staff! They all worked diligently to make sure that everything was replenished and kept clean. Room was exactly what we needed at a fair price. Shuttle from Super 8 was economical. The climb to the Super 8 was a bit steep and dangerous at night. Still well worth it. Avoid Paul at all costs as he is rude and hangs up on guests without apologizing.

Everything was amazing! Rooms were nice, towels and bathroom supplies were nice. Shower was amazing and the breakfast area and breakfast was good. The location was great to be able to the ferry to nyc!

Great newer Hotel, well managed, very close to Manhattan, without the Manhattan prices. If you are planning to spend most of the day in the City, or out of the Hotel, this is the place you are looking for. Free garage parking. The rooms are beautiful, bathrooms the same. Can't say the same about the location. There is nothing decent in walking distance. Just very accessible to Lincoln tunnel, and midtown Manhattan and Hoboken. There is a Bus Stop up the hill, at JFK Boulevard, directly to Port Authority, Manhattan. Buses run quite often. Great Breakfast buffet which is included in price. Overall, a great deal.

We travelled to US from June to July . Initially the travel plans were for a month . But as I was down with allergic cold and fever we had to change the plans. We reached Newyork after visiting Washington . It was a clean and quiet place . We travelled to Newyork by Megabus . It reached NYC in 4 and half hours . We were little surprised to see the condition of the New Jersey city when we were nearing Lincoln tunnel . The reason might be because in our minds we imagined that US cities are the richest and cleanest . We checked some yellow taxis ( some are not clean and even smelly) and understood that our hotel is not in NYC but in Noth Bergen, New Jersey which is $ 75 away fm NYC in peak hrs .. and the traffic to and fro NYC is always peak . As first time visitors to US we thought of checking in to the hotel and let's see . Hotel is nice . Reasonably clean with good house keeping and nice buffet breakfast . And staff were friendly . Tap water was hard water . They says it is drinkable though it has a distaste . I got allergic cough and cold (staying this area /drinking this water) which become a fever afterwards and had to visit the doctor. The cough still persists, which means the air quality is so bad in the area. Though the hotel is clean, the area around is not well kept . We were very surprised that even as a rich country and being neighbour to NYC they are keeping the surroundings in pathetic condition without cutting plants on foot paths , garbage strewn over places and no cleaning on streets . I believe most of the low wage employees are staying in this area as most apartments and houses are old and in poor condition. The area is dark and quiet at nights . And commuting from hotel to NYC (where most of the attractions )were little difficult . Though hotel operates a shuttle bus for $ 15 for round trip per person . Last bus from NYC 41st street is @ 10 o clock .There is public bus running nearby in walking distance . But nobody has idea that it would return to the same route, which gives us a feeling that the city is not performing in order . It consumes lot of time to commute to and fro NYC as we hv to pass through the busiest Lincoln tunnel . So for the tourists who wish to visit NYC , it is advisible to stay in some Manhattan / Time square hotels itself to maximize your visit and minimize commuting and allergic deseases.

The hotel is nice and clean. The breakfast is very good, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, if you are staying here to save some money on your trip to NYC, forget it. Stay in NYC. We stayed at this hotel because of the free parking, free breakfast, and proximity to the city. We didn't realize the shuttle from the hotel was $12 per person EACH way. The public transportation bus, which we opted for, was only $3.25 per person. That was reasonable, but we had to walk up a big hill to catch the bus each time and the walk back from the bus was on poorly lit streets. The bus driver didn't let us off at the right place the first night and we walked over a mile back to the hotel. That's not the hotel's fault, but we did tell the front desk clerk to make this clear to their guests so they were aware. In end, we spent 2-3 hours every day catching the bus to and from the hotel. Considering we were only in the city 4 days, I should've just stayed in the city. We spent $26 a day on the bus and $122 on subway MTA passes.

Perfect for our family visiting NYC! Staff was friendly, secure parking garage was great, room was nice, free breakfast in the morning was nice! We were able to check in early which was wonderful. Our room was clean and spacious. The breakfast worked for everyone in my family - everyone got something different (scrambled eggs & sausage, yogurt parfait, waffle with berries and powdered sugar, juice). The first day there, we took the shuttle up at Super 8 because we arrived after the last morning shuttle service by the shuttle offered at our hotel (Golden Eagle shuttle) and we did not have a good drop off experience when we headed back to the hotel at the end of the day. The shuttle doesn't drop you off where it picks you up (which I was aware of from reviews I read ahead of time) but the driver forgot about dropping us off at the nearest stop and we didn't know what stop to look for so he ended up driving really far away and then stopped on the side of some road and said “hey! Super 8, get out now and walk back!” So we got off the shuttle, pulled up the GPS on my phone, and walked back to our hotel which took about 20 minutes (which sucked after a long day of walking around NYC). On our second day, we were able to take advantage of the shuttle that partners with our hotel and it was SO NICE. Worth the cost to me (which was $36 round trip for my family of 3) as it picks you up and drops you off right in front of the hotel. I reserved our shuttle trip online ahead of time (as advised by the hotel with the paper they give you that talks about the shuttle, the pick up/drop off times and how to reserve your spot) and it worked out perfectly. This hotel was perfect for our needs and we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to NYC. Not a single complaint from our experience at this hotel. Thank you, Best Western!

We were a group of 16 who came for a 2 day conference in the hotel. The bedroom was new, clean, and comfortable. The staff were always super helpful. Will the manager was always available and helpful. After over 30 years as a road warrior in 100s of hotels this was by far my best experience. Thank you to the staff.

Stayed a week at this hotel with my family. Very friendly staff. Quick check in. The hotel is quite new, so both the lobby, the bar, the breakfast area, the gym, the pool and the rooms are perfect. Very comfy beds. The breakfast are continental style, which means too much sweet stuff and too little of the healthy stuff. Absolutely no vegetables. So if you are looking for vitamins, you have to bring them yourself. The bar offers a great selection of drinks and also some food. If you are hungry and want to eat at the hotel, I can recommend a nearby chinese take away-restaurant (1 minute from the hotel). Very nice food! The hotel is situated in what seems to be a latin american part of New Jersey. 10 minutes walk to Union City with a mall and a shopping street with lot of restaurants and shops. There is a bus service from a hotel nearby (Super 8) with a never ending row of busses to Times Square (3$ each). Depending on the traffic and the route chosen by the driver, it took 25 to 35 minutes to get to Times Square. Are you looking for a very nice hotel close to New York, at an affordable price? Look no further.

Very nice rooms and bathrooms. Extra space in a standard double-queen room included an expanding desk/table, laptop desk, huge tv, fast wifi, perfect bedding. Great for a family of four including two teens. Staff professional, polished, and helpful. No obvious bellhops or valets on duty when we arrived at 10pm. No problems getting a parking spot mid-week. High ceiling and well-lit fully-gated parking garage on lower levels of hotel. Accessible by clean elevator lobby in garage. Full breakfast with hot and cold buffet, but only until 9:30am on weekdays. Enjoyed the yogurt parfait choices. Water not available in breakfast area and wasn't obvious there was some by the desk. Stayed two nights to see a Wednesday evening play on Broadway. The hotel's 3rd party shuttle bus service would have been $15 round trip per person (less $ for earlier return trips), but the last shuttle returned at 11pm, not giving us enough time to get to the pickup location after a 3-hour show. So, we walked around the corner from the BW and up a small hill to the Super 8 and used their $3 shuttle than came every 10-15 minutes. It was a mini-bus and felt safe. Much cleaner than many city buses. It went through the Lincoln Tunnel and dropped people off along the way, up until @42nd & 8th. The ride took less than a 1/2 hour total, including tunnel delays. Our ride back was around 11:45pm and they had multiple shuttles lined up that departed as soon as one filled. Pick-up was at 41st and 8th across from the bus station. Again, $3pp. So only $6pp round trip and no reservations needed. Bargain! The only sketchy part was the drop off in NJ since it was after midnight. It was across a bridge, about 3 blocks away from the Super 8, and then you had to walk two more blocks to the Best Western. The walk back felt very dark and deserted. I would not have wanted to do that alone or with only two people. Upside, the area WAS quiet at night, despite being so close to the highway and NYC. We checked taxi prices before taking the shuttle back and the rate for the 4 of us would have been $50 to North Bergen, versus the $12 for the shuttle. The extra money would have been worth it that late at night. In summary, this was one of the nicest Best Westerns we've stayed in! Eddie from maintenance, and the Manager who helped with a room safe issue were terrific.

We wanted to see New York and since we were driving our own vehicle we did not want to stay in New York City. So I booked for 3 nights and so glad I did. The room was clean, and larger than a normal 2 queen room. We did order food from the bar/lounge and had drinks while we waited for it, it took awhile but was reasonably priced for wraps and just enjoyed listening to the conversations while waiting. They also have a shuttle over to Times Square we took that on one of the days. Hotel is close to Lincoln Tunnel. Parking Garage is enclosed and felt like the car was protected. Breakfast was included can't really say anything about that cause my kids went down every morning and brought me breakfast to the room, they must of liked it cause they never complained. We were very pleased and hopefully if we get to go back to New York we will stay there again.

The staff I would say did a great job, Even though it would had been nice if the front desk had a little more information on how long the pool was being closed. From being told one night to 3 days each day we asked. We picked the hotel for the pool and was sad to see it close the whole week for a repair. That being said the staff did award us with some bonus points on our reward card. Note to Manager. It might be common in New York and New Jersey for the cleaning staff to take the money left out in the room as tip. But folks like Myself often empty our pockets at night and place our change/bills on the tables. My wife and I was not happy to find all of the cash we left out taken by the staff even with the "thank you " note. To be honest I didn't count it. but I guess when we return to a 56 degree room it wasn't much. May I suggest that you leave out a note or envelopes for tips. Us Southern folk tend to trust strangers and leave our cash out. :> Advice Note for travels with cars. We tried the shuttle, driving and taxi to New York from the hotel for a party of 5. $15 fee for the bridge/tunnels by car. Plus $30-$40 for all day parking. Shuttle $15 per person. Taxi $60 each way. Taxi got us to where we wanted to be. Shuttle takes you to time square. Car get ready to go crazy trying to figure out where you can park and where the parking lots are. I did notice hotels parking seem to be the cheapest . Hope this helps .

Excellent alternative to staying in Manhattan. Clean comfortable new rooms and very quiet. Great service in onsite bar and grill but not many food selections. Breakfast good. Shuttle to Manhattan is very convenient, just allow yourself time. Will definitely be back.

This hotel was very clean and the employees were very nice and accommodating. The breakfast has several options and is good. The rooms are modern and very clean. The location is easy to walk to the bus to go into Manhattan.

We wanted to visit NYC but didn't want to pay NYC prices. The surrounding neighborhood is really sketchy but the hotel itself is very nice. Clean and friendly staff. Extremely secure. My only complaint is that the pool was out of service for 1/2 of our visit, which is one of the major reasons I booked there. The hotel shuttle is convenient but pricey for a family of 4. Public transportation is a cheaper option but it's quite a walk back to the hotel.

The short version is they cancelled my reservation with no notice and caused me a lot of stress. I reserved through their website. Then I called and talked to them. I got a confirmation. Then, I never heard from them. I showed up. Their computer was down, and I was running late for a NYC meeting. I waited. Then, they told me I had no room. Then, they said I cancelled it, which I never did. I ran across the street and had to pay for a room twice the price. I moved my car and got to my NYC meeting late. BW called later and guessed that their "system" probably tried to charge my card and failed and cancelled my reservation. No notice was ever sent to me. My credit card is always way under the limit, so I have no idea why it would not go through. BW seemed to blame me for not giving better payment and/or "the system" they choose to use for not notifying them or me what happened. They did not offer any compensation for the stress or my having to pay double.

I stayed here with a business Colleague, parking garage took long time to get into, room not cleaned by my arrival home by 3:30 Pm, My Colleague very unimpressed. Although named a Premier hotel for BW, and I have been spoiled I Guess by some Absolutely Awesome Premiers,, this hotel was average of a regular Best western, a Great Hotel company, but Premier I do not think so of this property... 2.5 Stars, Could have been 5, as I would expect of Premier... Safe area, Close to some decent restaurants, but average hotel at best.... .

There is nothing negative about this property! We arrived very early on Sunday morning and were allowed to park in their garage. We grabbed coffee and muffing to eat on the trip into the city. Shuttle picks you up at the front door and drops you off just on the edge of Times Square. We returned after 10pm, ck in was quick and clerk was very attentive. Monday am we again headed back into the city for a dr.'s appointment and return around 3pm to retrieve our car and head home ...

This hotel is off any main highway but a bus can drive you to Manhattan in 20 minutes. The staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast is varied and fresh. The room is big and very clean and so is the bathroom.

So I booked this hotel after reading other reviews on it and I have to tell you it didn't disappoint. First of all it is around 20-40 minutes from Port Authority Bus Station but dont let this put you off. So the Hotel first, very clean, Check In was easy and the guy there was kind and friendly. My room was in the seventh floor, I couldn't believe what I got for an amazing price, King Size bed, Cable TV, Docking, Great WiFi, Microwave, Safe, large Shower, ironing facilities- Amazing!!! Breakfast- Good standard, not a massive selection but just enough and the coffee is good!! Right most important, there is a shuttle that runs from the Hotel that is around $7 each way per person, Don't be afraid of your surroundings. Walk out of the hotel and turn right and then immediate right up the hill to the Super 8 Motel. You will find a load of Patterson - New York mini buses running at $3 each way, great value!!! Coming back is a bit more difficult but I worked it out, get to the junction of 8th Avenue and 42nd Street (two mins from time square) the bus will get you from 8th Avenue and it's $3 back. Okay here's where it's a little bit more tricky, ask the driver to tell you when you are at Super 8, they will drop you at a garage, Don't Panic!!! Get off the bus and look across the interchange for Aldi, head past Aldi and Super 8 is there on the left ( 5-8 mins walk) and safe!! So from PA you can grab the subway to anywhere in Manhattan as most lines are available from PA. it gives you a taste of New York life as well which is amazing!! Okay so it's a bit outside of Manhattan but might as well save them bucks for better things. PS get a one way Metro card as well it's worth it $35 for one weeks travel.

If you're squeamish about staying in zone that seems a bit deserted and looks like it's prone to alcoholics, druggies and hookers... well - the area where the hotel is situated may feel like that, but let me give you reasons why you should come and stay here anyway. 1. Free breakfast 2. Indoor pool and laundry 3. Staff is attentive 4. Secure Gated Garage that's accessible by elevator in the hotel 5. Comfortable room 6. Charter Service that shuttles you to and fro (goldeneagleshuttles.com for schedule) 7. Price- so book ahead. Yes driving into NYC sucks because of parking and contending the pavement with pedestrians and people who can't drive- so have the shuttle bus drive you instead. Overall it was a great 3 day stay. Have no fear, the seven reasons why you should book outweighs how bad the area may look.

This was a great alternative to staying in those super expensive hotels in NYC. The parking is included and secure. The rooms were clean which was very important to us. There was also a convenient shuttle service made available at a reasonable price that made getting in and out of the city super easy.

This is a great place if you're looking to head to the city, but don't want to stay directly in the city. The price is great, rooms are clean and the staff is excellent. There is a shuttle from the hotel to Time Square and it is very reasonable. I enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back. Oh and the parking is in a secure garage and is included with your stay.

Other than the gym opening @630 not 5am, and washer room only having one machine which was tied up for two days. This was my best nights stay @ any hotel I've ever stayed in! I've been to them all! Just those two things correct!

I was looking for a hotel with free convenient parking, breakfast included, was very clean and had a bus stop close by to get to New York. Based on other reviews I chose this one. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was so nice. The service at the desk was probably one of the best check in experiences I've had and I travel a lot! We enjoyed going to the lounge and having a drink. Breakfast overall was fine. They did have their own scheduled bus service for a fee which we did not use. We used the NJ transit bus to get to the Times Square area. The cost was $3 per person. You pay the driver cash. The bus stop wasn't far, but you have to walk up a hill to the front of the Super 8 nearby. That may be an issue for some. The location of this hotel did not appear to be the nicest but we did walk around a bit. Overall this hotel was a great choice.

This was my first time in NYC and I just wanted a nice place to stay with free parking. The hotel was very clean and they made sure I had everything I needed. The breakfast was good it was cool to actually have a lounge.

We had a great experience. We took the shuttle they contract with into the city and for our family of 5 it was $48 round trip. We drive one day and the Lincoln Tunnel had a $25 toll one way. The hotel itself is very nice but the surrounding area looked a little sketchy. The Internet in the lobby wasn't the best and I had to go all the way outside to order a Lyft (again $62 one way from from the 9/11 Memorial). The room was very nice and comfortable. I would stay here again for sure.

Came for a four day stay. Everything was very well looked after, clean, comfortable and the service was great. The location was very fortunate, quick shuttle ride straight into the middle of times square. Breakfast Buffet with good food. Wonderful hotel, Highly recommended.

Stayed for 4 nights with my husband. Used the hotel as a base for travelling in to New York. Bus leaves from outside hotel & drops you at Times Square. Return journeys are available. Good location and easy to get to from Newark airport via car. Breakfast was ample & Staff friendly & helpful

We took a family trip to NYC with the family and decided to stay right outside of the city to save on trip costs. This hotel was recommended by friends and we were extremely happy there during our stay. The hotel is relatively new. Hotel stay includes free parking, free breakfast, the staff is friendly and they have a small lounge in case you need a late drink.

We were in NY with a group of 45 kids and 20 chaperones. The hotel was wonderful both in cleanliness and hospitality. We felt very safe and had a wonderful time. The continental breakfast was outstanding.

I had a reason that I needed to be in the area for a night so I chose the hotel closest to where I needed to be. Was incredibly surprised at what a high quality hotel it was. Staff was excellent, rooms were beautiful and the whole experience was wonderful.

We were here for 5 days during mi March and it was an excellent stay. We decided to stay outside Manhattan to save some $ for visiting attractions and this hotel was the perfect match. the all staff was very friendly and helpful. the rooms are large and spotless with mini fridge and microwave. The free garage is a big plus so close to New York city. They offer complementary breakfast with a nice variety. During the week , it was served until 9:30 am but most of the food were gone by 9 am, so , I decided to go early and bring breakfast in our room and it was perfect. They offer a shuttle to the city but with limited schedule and a fee of $15/round trip. We decided to use the local shuttle at $6/ round trip available 7 am- midnight. You can catch it at the Super 8 motel ,just 3 minutes walk from the Best Western. On the way back, the stop is on the over side of the highway and it is 10 minutes walk but pretty save even late in evening. Regarding the traffic, it is 10-20 minutes drive to Port Authority Terminal, very close to Time Square. The stop to come back is across the terminal . The shuttle is running every 15 minutes. We found that an easy and cheap way to go straight to Manhattan. Overall , I do recommend this place for who want to avoid the cost of Manhattan hotel , have a free parking and complementary breakfast. I will come back here on my next travel to NYC.

The bed comfort was superb, breakfast had the right options to eat (fruit, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, etc), free parking, pool and gym, and staff were very good— a well-managed hotel. There is decent bus service, one run New Jersey Transit and one by private company that all takes you into the Port Authority Bus Terminal for $3/trip. For the price, it's hard to go wrong.

Overall this hotel is a good value for the money. The hotel is in a decent area and we felt safe walking around. Food is nearby if you don't want to go to the city which for us was convenient because we got snowed in one day. The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is average and they mix it up a little each day. Don't go here for the views as our room looked out the back at the piles of trash just strewn about. Maybe they should check here for Hoffa's body. The shuttle service to the city was fine but the people running it suck. The return times to the hotel are limited to 8 9 or 10pm. You have to choose which time you want as you board. We chose 8pm. When we realized we wouldn't make that time we called and they said no problem for the 9pm shuttle. My family and one other person were the only ones they picked up. The shuttle didn't show up until about 920 and the driver seemed irritated he had to be there. When I handed him my ticket he mumbled 8pm, which was my originally scheduled time. It was cheaper than uber so whatever and the shuttle is not run by this hotel. So for a cheaper place out of the city but still close, this was the best bet!

Great hotel, great service, great breakfast. Truly really happy with everything. The bummer is paying double transportation money because it is in Jersey. Otherwise, the staff is awesome, beds are nice.

The rooms and bathrooms are really nice, We stayed for one night so we could go into New York for a Broadway show and avoid parking in the city. The shuttle was not available because it was off season but we used a bus service which picked us up at a stop that was relatively close to the hotel. The drop off coming out of New York was a little longer of a walk back to the hotel, but not bad. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had to make an extremely early departure before the scheduled breakfast time due to a coming Nor Easter. Eileen was so kind and brought us some pastries to take with our coffee on the road. We would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff were courteous and responsive to our needs. Shuttle to Manhattan was too pricey for a family but access to public transportation was good. We would consider this hotel again.

The rooms were great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Zulma made a wonderful breakfast both days we ate she's a wonderful person. Smiling both morning conversating with my 6 year old over all a great person.

The staff at this hotel is VERY helpful and professional. I was here on business for several days and every morning greeted by friendly staff. Eileen and Zuma Rodriguez were in the breakfast area each morning and greeted and spoke as if we had known each other for years.

I had a suite and it was incredible! I got a chance to use the pool and lounge and it was perfect! Breakfast had so much variety. Angelique at the front desk was lovely. She made my stay that much more special. I definitely will be returning.

The hotel rooms are very spacious and chic. The breakfast cooked and prepared by Eileen was excellent! Great place to stay! I will definitely come back here for a stay whenever I am in the North Bergen , NJ or Ney York area.

We stayed at the Best Western and were quite impressed. The hotel is nicely appointed and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The breakfast team is awesome. Eileen , Zulma and Shauna made sure everything was stocked and that everyone was enjoying their breakfast. If we head this way again we will definitely stay here!

We picked this hotel to save money by not staying at a more expensive NYC hotel. I can now say we made the right decision. It is located seconds off the highway leading to the Lincoln Tunnel in a residential neighborhood. Checking in was a pleasure with Shaina. She was so helpful and knowledgeable and made our stay even better. The secured indoor parking was a great worry free plus. Our junior suite was spacious, comfortable and clean. Two large screen tvs was a great touch. Our family of 5 had more than enough room. The hotel is serviced by an outside shuttle service company at $15 / person roundtrip to Times Square but we found an express mini bus with a stop around the corner at $3 / person which for 5 people is a big savings. The whole ride is about 15 - 30 minutes depending on time of day. The breakfast was fresh, plentiful and better than many hotels offering a free breakfast. Eileen was very nice and helpful if we needed anything. This hotel is excellent to be used as a base to explore NYC. Thank you again to Shaina and Eileen. Would we stay here again?? Definitely!!

Had business in NJ. Hotel was clean, good wifi, quiet. Would stay again. Typical breakfast, secure parking, food options a short drive away. Staff friendly, attentive. Very nicely located just off the highway.

It was very clean and reasonable price. Loved the easy commute to get to the shuttle to get to NYC and back. Only a 3 dollar ride. The Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Love the free parking and a safe garage. A good Free breakfast and pool to use and gym and lounge. I am deff staying here when I want to go to NYC again.

We were visiting New York and decided to stay here to save money. It would have been more to stay in the city and the drive wasnt that bad. There was actually a shuttle that took you to Times Square and brought you back for a reasonable price, it was $15 for a ride there and back or $10 one way. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. There breakfast is very delicious! It was complimentary, which is always a bonus. Coffee, waffles, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bread and pastries, yogurt, fruit. The breakfast hostess was also very nice and asked us how our food was. I will say that it isnt far from the Newark airport, and made it cheap to Uber to and from there. If you are visiting the city and Uber back to the hotel, it will be a bit pricey, but we only needed to do that once since we watched a show that ended late. I definitely would stay back at this hotel, especially if there isnt a decent place to stay in the city around the same price as this hotel.

My son and I took our granddaughter to New York for one of her Chistmas presents and decided to stay here to avoid driving into the city. The room was awesome, breakfast was great, staff very friendly and parking garage was a plus! We took the bus from hotel just above into town. Was either 3 dollars or 3.50 depending on one we got per person. Took us right into town with no issues. It is a bit of a walk when you return on the one bus but we made it just fine. Next time would take the one that drops u off at hotel. Would definitely stay here again if we drive up. Easy to get to and get get back on the road home!

After spending half of our vacation at a hotel around the corner from this one, this place was a welcomed breath of fresh air! They exceeded our expectations. We came to go to the city every day and really didn't want to get out of the comfy beds. Stay here.

Parking was free in a private gated parking garage. They also have a great inexpensive shuttle to Times Square.

The hotel is nice incide parking. Short distance from restaurent and grocery . Shuttle to New-York or bus is issue .the morning breakfast is very good and the staff is friendly .the rooms are nice and very clean the bed are so comfie did not want to get up .

Stayed on New Years eve. Clean and spacious rooms. GREAT complementary breakfast (Thanks to Eileen, Zulma and team).. The location is good too; pretty close to the bus route from Port Authority Bus Terminal (8th/42nd street New York). They also have a shuttle for Times Square (to n fro) that needs to be booked in advance.

Stayed 4 nights. Room was very nice, clean, comfortable, and staff did their best to assist whenever possible. Breakfast was adequate. Always had eggs with some form of meat as well as the standard waffles and pastries. Lots of options to have dinner delivered. Check with the front desk. Only thing is you might want to look at different shuttle service into NYC other than the one hotel suggests. I know the shuttle is not part of the hotel but my opinion is it is still a reflection on their service.

I'm sure you know, hotels in NYC are typically quite expensive. This hotel offered a nice balance between cost and comfort. From what I could tell, this hotel had either been built recently or completely renovated. Parking on site is free (a bonus). Breakfast was surprisingly good (but get there early) - not your typical hotel "continental" breakfast - way more than that. Special call out to the young lady staffing the breakfast, she did a great job! Getting into the city isn't cheap, but we took an Uber which for a family of four was cheaper than taking the hotel shuttle (which was not free). Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is small, but nice (and new).

Nice hotel minutes away from NYC-Time Square. The staff was friendly, helpful and enhanced the experience. Breakfast offers a variety of options and thank them for helping make recommendations based off of food allergy restrictions for family member. Third party shuttle contracted with the hotel and surrounding hotels is a quick trip into Time Square based on the time of day.

We have stayed in Best Westerns before, but none like this. From the Friendly and helpful front desk staff to the complimentary breakfast, everything was first class. The room was very spacious, the bed comfortable and everything worked as it should. We would definitely stay again!

I must say that , the Staff selection is the best structure foundation in any hotels and Best western always make the right choice in this..... Comfort of Room, Bed and amenities is awesome. Breakfast is filled with choices around the expected amount of clients and freshly available ingredients are making real taste.

Loved the hotel location and amenities but would suggest you get a uber to travel to and from New York rather than the shuttle offered to get you there.... they are in no hurry to get you to reservations made. Will definately being staying here again

Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, accommodating, and nice place overall. We were very happy we chose this hotel. We took the shuttle from the hotel to NYC (Golden Eagle Shuttles) and it was on time and convenient. If we were to come back, we would stay again at Best Western Premier again.

A 15 minute ride on the shuttle and you are in New York City as simple as that. The hotel is great,have everything you could need, such as a bar\\lounge, fitness center,great breakfast and super employees to help with anything you need. I will certainly stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked 4 Rooms (2 King Suites & 2 Standard Queens) for a family trip to see the Rocketts and city the city of New York. The hotel was great, and although the staff was very friendly the need more training as to what they know about the hotel.

I had a very comfortable stay. The staff was friendly, room was large, breakfast was excellent with healthy choices. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was a nice size with great water pressure. Nice pool area and fitness center. Oh yes and they have a bar! The only thing I didn't like was the fact that we had to get out of the car, walk to the front desk and ask to be let in the garage each time we returned. They need a better security system for the garage entrance. I appreciate the hotel security but it's a little inconveniencing when you've been out all day and want to park your vehicle. Overall I would definitely stay here again anytime I want to visit NYC without staying in the middle of the NY crowd. It's a short drive to NY.

Location, Location, Location. Could see hotel from turnpike and easy to get to. Great shuttle service to Times Square. Parking at hotel was covered and plenty of spaces. Everyone at front desk and throughout the hotel were very helpful.

We were attending an event at the Meadowlands complex and found this hotel appeared to be the best value and we definitely made the best choice. The place is brand new and really shows. There is easy parking in a garage on the first 4 floors of hotel which is nice, you can take the elevator right to your room. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly especially Zulma and Eileen from the breakfast. They always made sure the buffet was fully stocked. They took great pride in their work and were incredibly friendly. They deserve a ton of praise. Usually free hotel breakfasts aren't that great but this was an exception. They offered fresh juices in pitchers, not those institutional grade machines. The eggs appeared real and there was a pancake machine as well as waffle iron, in addition, there were choices of pastries and breads, as well as meat. Apparently, the oatmeal pot was broken but they do offer that. We had a junior suite (7th floor), there were two queen beds in one half and a living room with a sleep sofa, 2 large televisions with a huge selection of cable channels. There were 2 temp controls for each half of the room and a nice bathroom with glass shower. My only gripe is they got ripped off by who designed the bathrooms, the shower only has one little spot to put the shampoo and soap and it always falls but no big deal. The pool was nice and clean however like other people said, the water could have been warmer and the hallway leading to pool shouldn't be kept so cold. The location isn't bad, not really walking distance to anything notable, however 5 minute drive to Harmon Meadow which is a large outdoor plaza with shops, hotels, restaurants, offices, and a movie theater and expo center. We loved this hotel and definitely would return and recommend.

From location to price to value, loved everything about this hotel. After researching endless options in manhattan and new jersey, went ahead with this hotel because of its great reviews and was totally satisfied with that decision. Prices are affordable, you get free breakfast and a convenient shuttle ($12 per round-trip) right from the hotel entrance to Times Square. Rooms are spacious and clean, seems like a new property. Used the shuttle to downtown everyday and had no issues, drivers were nice and always on time. Breakfast was great, Zulma was such a sweetheart, so grateful for the good customer service :) Breakfast included pancake, waffles, breads, juices coffee, fruits , yogurts, eggs and sausages etc etc endless options, you name it, they had it! Would definitely recommend and come back!

Very nice hotel. Very courteous staff, especially Zulma, who works in the breakfast area. Room was spacious and very clean. Large screen TV was a plus for watching football that evening. Good access into NYC and the NJ turnpike.

Excellent BW Hotel that was in great location to access the Lincoln Tunnel for NYC. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. I left at 6:15am to beat rush hour traffic to NYC. Driveway to hotel puts you right onto causeway for Lincoln Tunnel.

I only stayed one night but everything about my stay was great! The room was large with a nice spacious bathroom, two large TV's plenty of windows with daylight and black out curtains if you need it. Although it sits off of a main road, it was pretty quite inside the rooms. The pool and fitness area is great! They also have a cozy bar/lounge which is a plus! I didn't have a chance to utilize the shuttle to NYC but the hours listed on the shuttle schedule were convenient times. I will definitely be staying here whenever I plan to hang out in NYC. The only problem I had was every time we entered the hotel's garage, we had to get out of our car and walk to the front desk to ask them to open the gate. Guests don't have remote access to enter the garage.

Overall very clean and new feeling hotel. Great prices. Hot breakfast was very nice. Rooms good size and good quality amenities. You do need to call the front desk from your phone each time you need to enter the garage with your car.

There are a few hotels that I stay at more than once and this is one of them! You get a lot of bang for your buck! The rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious. The front desk was very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. Your stay comes with free breakfast down by the lobby. They had a great selection of different breakfast items to choose from. Shoutout to Zulma for being the perfect host while I enjoyed my delicious breakfast! She was super sweet and very helpful! Can't wait to book my next stay!

Nice hotel, fairly new and quite clean. Only negative is that the bathrooms are somewhat small. Good breakfast options. Not much around the hotel, but it's close to Rt 3 access so the Lincoln Tunnel and restaurants off NJ 3 was ok.

Angie was excellent at the front desk. Very accommodating! Eileen and Zulma were fabulous during breakfast. Paul was great as well. I would not hesitate to come back. Wonderful hotel and staff. A+++++

I arrived to find that the hotel did not receive my Booking.com reservation. Manny, the night manager was marvellous. He found me a room, upgraded it - so beautiful, and left a message for the day managers so that my bill was adjusted to Booking.com rates the next day. Shauna the day manager was very helpful and friendly and Eileen who tended the breakfast buffet was so efficient and a lovely person. Breakfast was great too! My only comment is that you contact the hotel prior to arrival because you can pick up their shuttle not far from 42nd street for under $10 with bags to the hotel. I could have saved myself a $60 cab fare from NYC to the hotel. Best way from JFK International airport is by NYC airporter bus to Grand Central ($18), take the train to 42nd street ($3) (there are stairs though if you have a lot of luggage), then go to The Counter cafe on the corner of Broadway and wait on the W 41st street side. The shuttle company is Golden Eagle Express and pickups in NYC start from 4pm (goldeneagleshuttles.com) and check for other time slots. You'll love New York!

The hotel is new and was beautiful. Our room was great- we had a suite. The staff was extremely helpful and the hotel has a shuttle into the city. The hotel is convenient to the The breakfast was amazing -Zulma was fabulous- she was pleasant and very helpful.

I would suggest this hotel who would like to save a little money going to New York. The hotel is in great shape and is only about a 15 minute shuttle ride to Times Square. I would stay there again in a flash.

We loved this hotel. It's practically new and the beds are great. The breakfast was good. We walked up to the Super8 and got a shuttle to NY for $3.00 which took us to the Port Authority and we walked all over from there. Felt very safe the entire time. On the way back from NY they dropped us further away but still, it was walking distance. We spent less money and loved our hotel.

Good staff and caring. Room was not ready, but they upgraded me to junior suite and apologized for their mistake. Price for the Location could be better. Clean room. Hopefully the lounge will be ready with decent amenities in near future.

The staff was very friendly. The room was large, clean and modern. A great nights sleep. The breakfast was a great start to the day. It was a bit of a walk to get to NJ transit into the city, but it was worth the effort for the comfort of the hotel and room.

Very clean. Shuttle to NYC was easy to use and not expensive...drops you right in Times Square. Hotel staff helpful & friendly. Location is good to get to NYC in about 20-30 minutes but would probably not want to walk around outside too far. I would definitely recommend for a NYC trip!

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the NJ transit station. Only a few minutes by taxi/uber, so it's fairly inexpensive to get into the city if that's your plan. The hotel is fairly new. The rooms were spacious, well appointed, and clean. The parking garage is gate secured, so I was not concerned about my safety. Decent breakfast. If there's one negative, it's only that the hotel is not within walking distance of anything.

Me and my husband on vacation also went to see my Atlanta Falcons play against the jets. Of course we won. Also when around New York City saw the Statue of Liberty. Lots of people but after all great fun.

It's a very good hotel for stay. Nice and professional staff, good location, very good breakfast, free parking (very very important in NY), free WIFI, perfect rooms, good value,..... I had a very good experience at this hotel.

Checking In -- the hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to park our car early at 4:30AM even though we weren't checking into the hotel until that night. Room -- very clean and had plugs in multiple locations for powering up devices. There was a unit by the TV that connected to the TV and had inputs for USB, HDMI, and RCA that I believe (although untested) allow one to hook up a portable DVD player to the hotel TV (but the remote doesn't have an Input Select button). The AC was perhaps the only problem as it was cold and couldn't be easily turned off as the controls on the unit itself did nothing and one had to really increase the temperature via the temperature control on the wall. The mini-fridge did not get all that cold either and we had it checked and were told that it needed to have more air space in the back of it. Doing so meant that the wooden door that normally hid the mini-fridge had to be left ajar as the mini-fridge was now slightly outside its storage compartment. There was a mini-safe in the closet but it was up high -- it was up too high for my wife so we ended up not using it. Location -- This is a cheaper alternative than staying in Manhattan for the type of room you get. However, it comes at a cost. If you are looking for the cheapest way to get to Times Square from the hotel, you could do one of two things -- walk up to 30th Street and JFK Blvd and catch a bus for $3.50 or, if you're lucky, you may walk by the Super 8 hotel on the way and a privately-run shuttle bus may be parked there waiting to pick up passengers and that costs only $3.00. This shuttle doesn't stop at the Best Western as far as I know. The other option is to take Lyft or Uber to Times Square which costs about $32 plus tip. One word of caution -- walking involves walking uphill -- about a quarter mile to get to the bus stop. It takes about 20 minutes once on the bus or shuttle to get to Times Square. The bus we used was number 125 that ends at Port Authority and you can get a bus ticket back to the hotel by inputting into the ticket machine that you want route 125, zone 2, and then you'll go to Gate 214 at Port Authority to catch the bus back. Be sure to tell the bus driver you need to get off at 28th and JFK Blvd and then you'll have to walk about a half-mile back to the hotel (downhill). We originally told the bus driver we needed to go to Paterson Plank Road and he thought we meant where JFK Blvd and Paterson Plank roads intersected. That was miles away and ended up having to ride to the end of his line and then back again to 28th and JFK Blvd. That wasted about 30 minutes late at night. By the way, if using Lyft or Uber, be sure to enter the destination or pick up as the Best Western Premier NYC Gateway hotel and not the street address of 2650 Paterson Plank Road, North Bergen, NJ as we did that once and the Lyft driver couldn't find the hotel! Breakfast -- this was one of the best breakfasts in this category of hotel that I've had. Out of the four breakfasts we had there, two days had them put out real silverware and cloth napkins (I think this is because it's up to the attendants to put them out or not) and they had Belgian waffle makers as well as a pancake machine and then three hot entree servings that included plain scrambled eggs, sausages, and then one entree that changed daily. Coffee, juices, pastries, cereals, fruits, and other items rounded out the breakfast choices. On the two days that we had the aforementioned cloth napkins and silverware, the staff came by to ask how our breakfast was and we were given a card with the attendant's name and asked to fill out an evaluation online. The other two days, with plastic cutlery, we weren't asked how breakfast was or asked to fill out an evaluation online. In all, we had a pleasant stay and I would recommend the hotel.

The hotel is clean, very modern and spacious. Great free breakfast and awesome free parking that is secluded and safe. They have a really cool lounge on the 5th floor as well. The hospitality of the staff is great, very kind and helpful. Enjoyed conversations with the bartender and any questions I had at the front desk were taken care of quickly. Lastly, at breakfast I had a nice conversation with one of the staff members, Zoime who was very kind and sweet. My husband and I throughly enjoyed our stay.

3 of us went on a trip to new York and to save cost we decided to stay in new Jersey. We were a little worried but as soon as we got to the hotel those fears were gone. The associates are so awesome, friendly, customer service focused. The rooms were so clean, really comfortable beds, modern decor, and just overall inviting. No issues at all with Internet, or quality of service. Clean white towels, nice finishes on all bathroom faucets and tile work. I will absolutely stay here again, and look forward to the time when I get too!

Very good hotel with profetional service and extremly good facilities. It is not very far from Manhattan. There is nothing to do in New Jersey. There should be shatles organized to the centre but with Uber is Ok if there is no traffic jam on the tunel

The front desk clerks were very helpful, patient and kind. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the variety of breakfast items and the area stayed clean and well stocked especially with help from Eileen. She was constantly cleaning the area around the food and as soon as someone left, she table was cleaned and ready for the next guest! Wonderful service!

Everyone was sweet and it was great and clean! We really liked the lounge and the staff. Room was big and we enjoyed everything on our mini vacation. My husband and i went into the city with no problem!

Stayed here with the family on a trip to NYC. We arrived off a cruise so were actually at the hotel by 8:30am on check in day. I was greeted by a smiling professional young lady on reception. She told me there was no problem parking in the car park and taking the shuttle bus into Manhattan for the day and checking in when we returned later that evening. We parked up and took the shuttle bus from outside the hotel at 9:15. I had concerns about the bus having read some more recent reviews. As we boarded we were offered a single or return. We took the return option, which included choosing a return time, and were given a ticket with all this information. When it came to return time at 7pm that evening, there were at least 30 people for a 22 seat bus. To their credit the shuttle operators checked tickets and gave priority to those who had booked that return time and also had a second bus on standby to take the extra passengers. Both buses left Times Square at 7pm. This was true for all 3 days of our trip. Yes the buses are busy,but it does seem that the operators have listened to feedback and are providing the service promised. When we got back to the hotel to check in we were greeted by a very professional young man on reception who made us feel really welcome and checked us in quickly. Our room was great, new, clean and functional. Swimming pool is a nice area (pool temperature a bit on the cool side!) When it comes to breakfast, Eileen and her team were amazing. Both hot and cold items on offer, Coffemate flavoured creamer for the coffee, Greek yoghurts, waffles, pancakes, juices. The team were continuously refreshing the buffet and clearing tables. Amazing for a complimentary breakfast. Our stay at the Best Western Premier NYC Gateway reminded us how great Best Western hotels are for the money and we would 100% recommend staying here.

This hotel was very nicely decorated, the rooms were clean, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. While it is outside of New York, the shuttle service (not free) to and from New York was very convenient and easy to reserve and use. The breakfast was a hot meal (eggs, sausage, pancakes, waffles) with traditional continental items. Check-in and Check-out was very easy. Overall it was a great stay and a great value at that.

Beautiful Hotel, modern, clean and great decor. Staff were very professional and friendly and went the extra mile to please. Easy access to NYC with buses and shuttles. Excellent breakfast buffet with hot, fresh food and staff to take care of our needs. Room was spacious with fantastic bathroom and bed along with the decor. Indoor parking a real bonus!!!! We will be back!!!!

We stayed during seven days in this hotel, the breakfast was very poor and not taste food also in the room never clean and never changed the sheets or bed covers or never cleaned the bathtub only changed towels and replenished amenities. We passed the complaint in reception on day 4 and left on day 7 without having any response

I was totally surprised by the service and hotel. Certainly one of the best - Best Western I have ever stayed in. I plan on staying there on future visits. The parking garage was safe and secure and travel to the city was stress-free. Loved it!

We had reserved a hotel near here for the same price that we paid for this hotel. The hotel we were going to stay in it was disgusting, the room smelled badly, it was in a bad neighborhood and we called best Western and talk to Antonio who was absolutely incredible and friendly. So we booked our stay. So thankful we did.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at this Best Western hotel in New Jersey, across the river from Manhattan, while visiting our son who lives/works in New York City. In the past, we stayed at a hotel in Queens for easy access to NYC subways, but after this stay, we now prefer to stay in NJ because we get a much nicer, larger hotel for the same price as in Queens. We drive from Toronto to NYC, so hotel parking is critical for us and this Best Western has an attached parking garage at no extra charge for guests. Golden Eagle Shuttles run an inexpensive bus service throughout the day between several NJ hotels and NYC Times Square ... reservations are recommended as these take priority over walk-ons when the bus is full (especially the return bus during the evening). For more comfort and convenience, we also took Uber between NJ and NYC which is more expensive (better value if 3 people). We stayed in a spacious Executive Room with King bed, desk/chair, large TV (many channels), microwave, minifridge, 1-cup coffee maker, smallish bathroom (shower only). There is a large breakfast area in the lobby, with typical, but slightly better-than-average food (we went only 2 times because it got boring). The lobby also has a sitting/TV area and business centre (2 PCs, 1 printer, 1 ATM), There is a decent gym and a smallish swimming pool (no hot tub), both of which we did not get a chance to use. There is bar/lounge on another floor that we did not try. Overall, we had a good stay that met our expectations and we could still drive to places on the NJ side. There are shopping and restaurants along the NJ river shoreline. You can get nice views of the Manhattan skyline and you can take the Statue of Liberty ferry from Liberty State Park.

My wife and Sister-in-law trraveled to New York to visit the 911 memorial and experience New York as a city. We enjoyed our time there. We were glad that that we could get on a shuttle from the hotel and did not have to drive into New York. Overall, a great time!! Thank you for our stay with Best Western.

We found this motel to be very clean. They had many breakfast choices. Manny and Angelic were very kind and helpful at the desk to help with our questions about tours and directions. Overall a very good experience.
