    « Afternoon Tea »

Visited Monday afternoon for food. Absolutely beautiful Afternoon Tea, the best I've had (and I've had a lot!). The food was delicious and plentiful, lovely selection of little cakes, homemade scones. Only slight disappointment was squirty cream instead of clotted. Service was fantastic; many thanks to Rick who looked after us. Beautiful garden to sit in as it was a gorgeous day. Highly recommended, already planned our next visit!

« Does the job and staff are very good »

I arranged a group visit for 2 nights and also arranged an in house dinner. Staff were helpful and flexible and would recommend this if you are visiting local businesses in the area or Manchester Airport.

« Good but could be better »

Stayed here last Friday night, check in was easy and quick. Upgraded my room for £15 and the room was huge, nice bath and separate shower, comfy bed and large tv with various channels. Only let down is no air con but there is a fan in the room which was loud and full of dust on the back.

    3
    « Could do be »

Typical hotel you get nowadays, nothing stands out as good, but no air-conditioning, a reception that does not listen, or chooses to ignore you, make it 3 star rating, at best. We had no air-conditioning, so asked for a fan. We tried to phone reception but the phone was out of order, so I went down to reception to ask for the fan and informed them that the phone didn't work. I was told that it would be dealt with, it wasn't and no apology or reason why. Also wedding parties are held hear until around 12am on a Saturday. Not good when you're up at 4 to catch a flight.

« Extremely disappointing and noisy »

Extremely disappointed. This hotel books weddings and parties and they don't inform you when they are. After arriving at the airport after a very long journey, we arrived and a wedding was taken place. A disco until 12.30am when all you want is sleep. This is not an airport hotel. The staff were disinterested. We were told it is a very popular hotel for occasions. We were on top floor but fire exit doors were underneath which were opened from the wedding. We could not eat in the hotel due to the noise and busyness. Very disappointing indeed. Go to the premier inn instead just down the road.

« Appalling night, very poor hotel, bad location for an airport hotel. »

Overnight stop after a very late flight arrival. Very disapointed, mainly that this is NOT as described an 'airport hotel'. Receptionist says they are allowed to call it an airport hotel if it's within 15 miles of an airport! Cost almost £40 return taxi just to get to and from the hotel. On arrival we found a big loud party going on in the function room next to reception - impossible to talk to the receptionist. Our room was directly above the function room and everything was shaking, the noise did stop after about an hour (just before 1 a.m.) but utterly disgusted. Room nothing special, OK but certainly not worth £100 a night. Full English breakfast was good, though the coffee was poor. Would not recommend the hotel for anything except the breakfast, if you need an overnight at Manchester airport pay the bit extra for one of the on-airport hotels and save the wasted taxi fare.

    « Exceeded my Expectations »

Needed to stay after a flight into Manchester on Business. The hotel feels fresh and modern and the room was comfortable and well appointed. I didn't eat dinner as I just wanted to catch up on some work so I walked up to the local Tesco express for a sandwich. The hotel is well located for my needs, far away enough from the airport not to be hounded by aircraft noise. I normally do not give 5 stars to hotels as I believe all hotels catering for business customers should provide electrical charge points for cars. I didn't see them but later was informed they have 2. So all in all an excellent find of a hotel on the BW points system

    2
    « Disappointing »

Firstly, I don't complain to get anything. But I believe an honest review is feedback for the hotel as well as future guests. Now, I made a mistake through my online booking system through my work. At 2230 at night I booked a hotel for the following night but turns out it books me in for the same night. I've tried to book hotels for the same day before and it wouldn't let me. So yes I made a mistake. I had an email invoice from hotel. So I rang to ensure I was booked in for the night I wanted. The night I had booked (wrong night) was a double bed but now the only option was a single room or a support for 60 pound more. I contacted hotel as I am a diamond rewards customer with Best Western and explained that my company booking system had let me book the wrong night. I didn't ask for money back, but as I hadn't stayed, therefore I hadn't had breakfast, and my room hadn't needed cleaning and that I'm paying for another night as a diamond BW customer I could get the upgrade to the superior room. This never happened. Worth a try right? But I accepted the single room. And paid 99 pound for it. I have seen caravans bigger. I could lay in bed and touch the wardrobe on the opposite wall. How a hotel can charge 99 for a room this small is beyond me. My spare room in my new build house has more floor space. I went to dinner. Initially after being tired from work I would ordinarily order food to room but as the room was so claustrophobic I went to eat in the restaurant. I was greeted by some duty supervisor who literally told me off for not booking. She fitted me in and I was grateful only to sit in the restaurant filling 6 of the 25 tables I counted. The food was good. The pudding was good. The menu was good. The waitress that hosted me was very pleasant. I came back to the room the watch tv to find the signal kept making the screen blocking, making it impossible to enjoy it. I am a great fan of BW hotels but I must say, that despite the service of the waitress in the restaurant my stay here was quite disappointing. I will stick the the cresta court from now on, where you get what you pay for. 99 pound for a tiny room isn't, in my view, acceptable when a premier inn down the road would have given me a king size, a working tv and less claustrophobia. Maybe I need to understand what a BW ?plus? means? Is it similar to a Tesco ?metro??

    « Noisey »

Bit disappointing, loud music until one in the morning then loud chatter that seemed to go on for another half hour or so. The room was small and claustrophobic. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the breakfast very good.

« disappointed reception unable to amend and be flexible »

very disappointed after inadvertently booking 2 rooms, (duplicated booking in error). I asked hotel if could amend, but werent very helpful. So i cancelled one room, straight away, but i cancelled the 'flexible' rate room wrongly, instead of the non flexible rated room. Even though it was a genuine mistake there was no understanding or lenience, in my request to amend, as I had to change flight and was required for previous room. Sometimes we all make mistakes, but in this case, I paid for it, was charged, even though explained what had happened, and was treated just like any other 'number' customer i guess, with a not possible to amend unless i pay the new rate of £86.50 (after being pleased on previous visit to be offered a special rate of 58.50 incl breakfast. So guess I'll think twice, when booking not only through booking.com, (who were very understanding) but said the hotel wasn't able to be 'flexible' themselves! So i cancelled.

Took advantage of a Groupon deal for Afternoon Tea with Prosecco. Lovely fresh sandwiches with several different fillings. Various mini cakes & mini scones with a cream & jam filling. Excellent service.

« Helpful staff disappointing room and noise levels »

The staff are brilliant, helpful and efficient. Stayed two nights in an executive room. The room was very small, no room to put suitcase on the stand, only one socket for multiple use - lamp, kettle and phone charger, no sockets near bed. Bed extremely hard with horrid pillows and stiff duvet. First night woken at 4.00 am by a brief false alarm, this was loud and startling, difficult to go back to sleep after the shock. Second night disturbed until 1.00 am by a very noisy wedding reception. I was annoyed that we hadn't been warned about this. Guests for the wedding should be accommodated in rooms above the reception area so that other guests can be away from the loud compare and music. In all it was a very disappointing stay - you go to a hotel to sleep and on both nights this was not possible because of the noise!

    3
« Nice staff, room not very clean »

Stayed here for one night after a wedding. The wedding itself was nice no problems there our room wasn't great however. Good points - all the staff we spoke to or dealt with were nice and polite. The breakfast was good we had to wait a few minutes for a table and the young lady that saw us to our table couldn't apologise enough for the wait (it was literally 2 minutes). Check in was quick. Comfy bed. Bad points - the room was £85 for the night, the bathroom was old and dated and had black hairs all over the place on the floor, at the side of the sink a long black hair from someone's hair in the bath it just didn't look clean. There were stains all over the carpet and I didn't feel comfortable walking round with no shoes. The room was cold so I turned the radiator up which made loads of noise so had to turn it down again when we got back as couldn't sleep with the noise. The windows didn't open to air the room in the morning. The furniture was all old looking and worn. We just thought for the price it was a rip off and they should be charging half the amount. The hotel corridors and if our room is anything to go by could just do with a makeover. We didn't bother complaining with us only being there for one night and it being a wedding but if I would have been there for longer I would have been asking them to give it another clean.

    « Cracking place. »

I only stayed one night however I was mightily impressed. Check in was quick and easy. Staff were very welcoming. Room was lovely and spacious. I had booked a single but they upgraded me to a double. Par king was ok. Breakfast was very hearty and a good range of items. Would definitely stay again.

    « A Regular Venue »

This hotel is always welcoming and comfortable, close to our family and close to Manchester airport. Access from A34 excellent and car parking generous. The rooms always clean and beds comfortable. Lovely dining room and breakfast first class.

« Great hotel, very comfortable bed, slightly weird menu in the restaurant »

As above, the bed was extremely comfortable, room quiet, large Tv nicely refurbished room. I personally found the menu, difficult to choose from, Quite a lot of different style chips involved with the two menus rather similar and rather expensive. We found the third menu which is a two/three course menu the second night of our stay, still rather expensive. Eating out of a metal basket may look great for presentation but it is very difficult to eat from. Give me a plate anytime. The breakfast was okay but luke warm both days and the bacon looked microwaved. The staff are extremely friendly. I have given 5* for the hotel and 3* for the food making it 4*

« Good location and excellent restaurant food »

Easy parking. Good vicinity to the airport if required. Food in restaurant very high quality at a very reasonable price. staff courteous and friendly which is nice when you are dining alone. Although the room was a single, did not feel too small and all room amenities of a good standard.

    « Superb »

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect. We were utterly delighted when we went into our room to find the housekeeping manager Janet had made us a beautiful Anniversary card and also a plate of chocolate dipped strawberries. Delicious! So very kind and thoughtful! Thank you.

    « Afternoon Tea »

Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed afternoon tea at the Wilmslow Pinewood Hotel with my friend Amanda, who had made the booking for us. On arrival, the very friendly staff provided us with options on where we could take our tea. We decided upon the formal dining area, as the sunshine and views over the landscaped gardens were rather appealing. Sandwiches and cakes were beautifully presented and equally delicious, and there was plenty of tea. Background music was set to a perfect volume level where it didn't intrude on our conversation. Thanks to both the hotel and the staff for a really lovely afternoon.

« Holed up in Manchester »

Exploitation of a captive audience with excessively high beer and wine prices...almost London prices. Food is very nice but again, a tad expensvie for tbe quantity served. I will not book here again since there are plenty of other hotels in the vicinity of the airport.

« Not the Usual Best Western »

We have stayed in Best Western before but have not been back in the recent years. BestWestern has changed or is this only true of Best Western in the UK? We expected the usual airport chain hotel and we were gob smacked especially after eating in the hotel restaurant. It was tasteful in its decor and food. could still taste the grilled lamb I ordered. The room is spacious and clean that we definitely will stay in a Best Western Plus property again.

    5
    « Weekend course »

I had an amazingly comfortable stay here for a course it was before Christmas and very busy for parties so my only issue was the amount of people that stood outside to smoke as there were loads! I ate at the hotel a couple of nights in s row and the food was lovely I would recommend this hotel.

    4
    « Great staff »

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a business trip. The rooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast is good with lots of choices. Staff are all very friendly. Convenient location for accessing Manchester airport.

« Single Bed Business Traveller »

Returning to Manchester Airport at the tail end of the snow storms. The M62 was closed so I needed to stay over until it re-opened. Room 401 is a single so small but as long as you are expecting small (I was) it is fine. Almost like a cabin it was just what I needed to last out the storm. Everything was clean and relatively efficient. I have seen a few complaints about breakfast in the reviews but thought it was better (particularly the coffee) than what I was getting in Germany. Can't really fault the place for anyone needing a sleep over near the airport. Certainly got me out of a pickle.

« Could've been so much better, the stay was let down by poor breakfast. »

Stayed at the Best Weston Pinewood as this is a hotel that came highly recommended to us by a colleague, who uses this frequently. No issues with the rooms or bar, but my main point was the breakfast. There was three of us sat around a small table, with no room to put anything. The waiter just kept dumping food items wherever he could, regardless of how cramped we were. As for the quality of the food, the Bacon had been cooked at 6am along with the fried eggs. They were still there when we ate at 8! So Bacon jerky and rubber eggs it was. I did ask if there were any fresh items coming, but only got a gruff response, and no fresh items were forthcoming. Coffee was lukewarm, and the toast was warm bread that hadn't been toasted. Other than breakfast, it was a pleasant stay, just not sure if we would stay again.

« Pleasant friendly staff, clean, efficient service, great food »

I stayed for one night due to an early morning flight, we booked a double room with dinner and breakfast through a Groupon deal. The room was clean and everything was fine with no issues, a little noisy at night due to a large party which had been drinking since late afternoon, I believe this was from a funeral, but little anyone could do. The dinner was good, but clearly as it was a groupon deal, the menu and content was paired down to meet the cost, however, the food was well prepared and very good service from the attentive staff. Breakfast was one of the best buffet style breakfasts we had had for some time, quality ingredients, but the preparation and the care of presentation, was excellent, also the serving staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, I could not fault the breakfast or the service from the staff, truly 5* My only comment to management would be over the start time for breakfast, service did not start till 8am on Saturday, with the Hotel clearly used for the nearby Manchester Airport, serious consideration should be given to an earlier breakfast start time ?

    4
« Sunday day overnight stay and good value accommodation facilities. »

Visiting family at Northenden Mcr and had enjoyable comfortable night in Exec room with. Groupon offer. Excellent choices for breakfast although at 8.30 bacon and sausage were dry and seemed to be previous day warmed up. As a Monday morn with few people booked in would expect frequent reduced volumes of food to be cooked to keep fresh. All other foods available excellent including staff services.

    « A nice visit »

We had 2 rooms double and twin. Both where a good size and clean. Staff where friendly and polite. Booking in and out quick and easy. All you can ask for from a large hotel chain. Didn't eat so can't give any feedback on the food. Would happily go back again

    5
    « Pleasantly surprised »

We chose this hotel as a stopover for a flight next day from Manchester. We were lucky to get a Groupon deal that gave us evening dinner and breakfast but putting the extra value aside the hotel impressed us right from the helpful check-in. The interior is nicely decorated in a contemporary style but at a much better level than your average sterile chain. Our room was large and again the decor good and all in good order. We went to the restaurant for evening dinner and were offered two different menus depending on what we wanted to pay. The meal was well presented (on black plates, a bit chefie but fine) and of a good standard. Staff were attentive but not over bearing. As you would expect the drinks menu for wine was a bit pricey but they have to make some money somewhere. Breakfast was equally good with an excellent range of food to set us up for the day. Overall we had an excellent stay which was above our expectations, rooms good, staff good and food good. We will definitely stay again.

« Surprised and disappointed on St Valentine's Day »

I phoned the hotel to ask if they had a St Valentines special on for the restaurant that night, I was told yes they do and it includes a welcoming glass of proseco and a red rose, very nice I thought, do you have any tables left? Yes she said, would you like me to E mail you over the special menu, OK I said, it dualy arrived so at £35.00 each I booked a table for me and my wife. As we don't uasully celebrate this event my wife was delighted with the surprise and was looking forward to the event. Although we only live about 800 meters from this hotel we haven't eaten there for about three years, any way although it was a dreary drissley night we put on our hats and overcoats put up our umberellas and walked there, this should be good. When we arrived and presented our selves at the wait here to be seated sign we were approached by a charming young lady who asked us if we had booked, to which I replied yes we have booked the St Valentine's Day special, with this she showed us to a table, hold on a moment I said do you think we could leave our wet hats, overcoats, and dripping umbrellas some where else, she checked with some one and they were then taken away. We were shown to a table about 2ft x 2ft next to a guy who was working on his laptop or something not Ideal for a romantic dinner, my wife asked if we could sit at a different table more suitable for the occasion and this was agreed to. Once we had settled in we where asked what we would like to drink, I pointed out that I was expecting a welcoming glass of proseco and a red rose for my wife, oh right he said, I had not mentioned this to my wife as I wanted it to be a surprise, so that was ruined wasn't it. So eventually the rose and Proseco arrived and we ordered our starter and main course, what dessert do you want, we don't know my wife said we need to see how we feel after the main course OK they said. Having finished our starter, very quickly, the main course arrived, who is having the steak he said, hold on I said we are supposed to be having a raspberry and vodka sorbet, oh he said like he had no idea what was on the special menue, so he took our food away and eventually came back with the sorbet, it was very nice By this time the fun had gone out of the evening and the rest of the night was just what it was. I think we where probably the only people in the restaurant cellerbrating St Valentine's Day and if the Hotel need advice on how to put on an event like this, this ex pressure washer salesman will point out how it could be made to be special for the customer.

« Mixed feelings - room bad, service good (at times) »

Good: most staff are very pleasant and easy to deal with. Great selection of healthy but also indulgent food for breakfast. Bad: my room (401) was far too small to be comfortable. Seems like they found some extra space at the bottom of a stairwell and made it into a room! Also, the bed felt like sleeping on a bean bag. Pillows were poor. The decor in the room is tired and bordering on chintzy. At breakfast, espresso coffees are not included in the price - really??? Finally, I've never been to a hotel where they offer a laundry service but you need to drop it off at and then collect it from reception.

    « Great airport hotel »

Stayed at this hotel the night before a Manchester flight. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, room was comfortable and the food in the restaurant was good. Slight issue on checkout when someone else's meal was charged to our room but it was sorted efficiently. We will use this hotel again.

    « lovely »

Nice hotel, good clean rooms, food good. Disappointed about the lack of gym or hot tub onsite but they are linked to the biggest in the UK which is 2 miles away. Room service is good especially the pizza fries. some of the rooms don't have baths so you need to request one that does. would stay here again

    « Disapointed »

Use this hotel alot throughout year.. Stayed Saturday 3rd Feb. Found toilet to be dirty after inspection. Toilet overflowed after flush.. Receptionist upgraded us after we reported the toilet issue.. We were grateful to the receptionist. Had a light meal in the bar.. Sandwiches..Beef x 1, Ham x 1. 2 x chips= £20. Bread was poor quality and filling was none discript. During early morning a noise woke us up!!! Not sure if this was from the kitchen. As our bedroom was close/above kitchen!! Such a shame on last nights stay. As this is used frequent for business..

    4
« Seems to be "Party Place" »

Stayed there for one night, weekend to take an early flight. The whole place was occupied by a wedding. So do not ask about the sound level. But besides that all worked well, service was good and it is an easy one to the airport.

    « Thank you Groupon »

What a great Groupon deal, this was. Hotel very comfortable and clean, nothing too much for the staff. We did the dinner bed n breakfast deal, food top class, presentation and service. Room was very comfortable and well serviced. Wonderful relaxed break.

    « No onsite parking! »

My friend and I had an early flight to Malta so booked this hotel has it included parking for the duration of our holiday but what it neglected to tell us until we'd paid and got the confirmation email was that parking was not onsite as expected but we had to leave the next morning and drive to the long stay 1 parking at the airport! We set off following the hotel instructions which sent us back on the motorway one junction and to the airport where it said long stay 1 would be signposted - wrong!!! Short stay, medium stay, jet parking all signposted but no long stay so we drove what seemed like miles and couldnt find it - it was after 6am and we needed to check in 2 hours before our flight at 8am - eventually we saw a Ryanair crew member walking along with her case so asked her and she told us that she was asked that every morning by lost travellers and gave us directions. Very difficult to find and also difficult to get a space - we drove round and round and eventually ended up parking at the end of a row that probably wasn't a properly marked bay but we were running out off time. We waited 15 mins for a shuttle bus in the cold until one came! The hotel itself was fine but I'd never stay there again as it isn't an airport hotel it's miles away! I only booked it as it said it was an airport hotel and led us to believe we parked up there! It had a grill next door which didn't open for a couple of hours so as we hadn't eaten since breakfast we had to go find a pub to eat in. Not a good start to the holiday!

    « Overnighter »

Brief stay but very satisfied. The room was exceptionally clean, with a very good ensure shower room. Only negative was the coffe in the room which was awful, and at breakfast the bacon and sausages seemed to have been overlooked and left on the hot plate too long. Distaff were courteous and efficient and friendly,

An easy to find hotel with friendly staff and good facilities. A quiet and comfortable room. Plenty of car parking. A great improvement since the hotel was re-furbished. Close by there are many attractions to visit.

    « Xmas Dinner dance »

40 members of our Social Groups Walking Section enjoyed a pleasant pre - Xmas evening at this excellent venue. This is the 6th year that we've held this event here, but the first time we've been so close to Xmas day itself; on Sat 23rd December. Surprisingly the venue wasn't as packed as usual, which made it a much more enjoyable evening, with only approx 70 of us in this pleasant function suite. The meal was bog standard Xmas fare, but well presented and quite tasty, served by a quite professional staff. Most members of our group anyway felt that the food was good value, though the drinks a bit pricey...£3.95 for a mainly lemonade Shandy and £5.45 for a small glass of wine.. Evening finished off with a good Disco and a great start to the Xmas Holidays

« A really good one night stop over. »

We were booked on an early flight from Manchester . so to avoid any chance of a poor journey from home we booked this hotel . The Airport ones were expensive and quite a few wanted to charge you for parking whilst you stayed overnight ,so they were out. When booking our stay at Best Western I thought less than ten minutes to Airport and pretty reasonable tariff . Lots and lots of free parking , WiFi that works and the room was very nice indeed ,big ensuite and comfy beds . Great value Thanks Best Western Plus .

    « Christmas day lunch. »

After a very successful Christmas day lunch 2 year's ago my family & I booked for the same experience this year. Sadly we were all very disappointed with the food, very limited choice, poor quality & very amateur presentation.Smoke salmon starter was a 'non starter'. Beef main course mean & tasteless. Turkey dinner bland! Butternut squash tart a joke. No way did the price reflect in what was served up. Redeeming feature good staff, very polite & helpful. No way will we be back.

« Most Enjoyable One Night Stay »

The room was great and clean with a lovely view over the garden and the bathroom facilities were excellent. The room was a little warm to begin with but this was easily remedied - not a bad thing on a cold winter's night. The staff on Reception and in the dining room were all most pleasant and helpful and the food and choice very good.

    « Better than i expected »

Been to a few best westerns over the years. Tended to be at the bottom end of the scale. A bit run down and alike. This one is not like that at all. The room was new and even had that new room smell you get in show homes. Bathroom was clean and tidy. Lots of off-street parking. Alt better than I expected.

    « Xmas party »

32 people attending our annual staff Xmas event For mass catering the food was hot and tasty , wasn't to one or two of our parties taste but nevertheless as the organiser I thought it was very good . The staff in all areas of the hotel are brilliant , friendly and efficient . We also stayed over , great value bed and breakfast ,rooms spotless and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay , breakfast was excellent . Would of given 4.5 if I could have . « Slightly disappointing »

I stayed here my last night in the UK due to the easy access to the airport. I arrived at 1.30 pm, hoping to check in a few minutes early as I had an appointment at 2.30 pm. However, I was asked to wait in the lounge which I did. When I went back to reception soon after 2 pm, I got the impression that my room had been ready for some time. It would have been good if someone had come and told me when my room was ready. I found the room somewhat stuffy and oppressive and would have expected a mini fridge in the room in a 4 star hotel. On the other hand, the hotel was good value for money, the staff were friendly, I had a good night's sleep and I made my appointment (just).

Overall a good stay, Hotel is clean and tidy with staff very helpful and considerate. Rooms made up and towering changed daily although I declined the service as I didn't consider it necessary or wanted. It would be better if the fan system in the bathroom would switch off at sometime, an observation not a complaint, unfortunately I was accommodated between storage rooms that were used as linen and towel refreshment storage. Overall a good stay and would recommend and stay again. Thank you

    « 80's Night 1.12.17 »

What a fantastic night we had. Three of us are celiac and the food was delicious. As we couldn't have the cakes, they very kindly made us fruit salad. I also had the problem that I can't have strawberries which wasn't a problem as they immediately made me a fruit salad without strawberries. Richard and the staff were an absolute delight, so pleasant and helpful. Please arrange another 80's night as we are all desperate to come back. Pauline

    « One night stay »

We stayed for one night before our flight the next morning. Check in was smooth however when we reached our room found that it was a disabled access room meaning we had no bath and the wet room meant flooding the whole bathroom floor making any further visits to the bathroom very damp under foot. The toilet flush was weak. The room itself was small but annoyingly the radiator had a blue square glowing light directly at eye level when lying in bed which caused discomfort when trying to sleep. We skipped the overpriced breakfast which cost more than in the airport itself but did have an evening meal which I can only call average (the steak in Guinness pie was overly rich so the flavour was heavy and I left half as hard to enjoy). Would I stay here again? Probably not, there are more spacious hotels in the area who will allocate bedrooms with able bodied bathrooms. Perhaps I should have returned to reception to moan about the room when I arrived but it was a one night stay so figured it would be fine at the time until we used it. Lesson learnt.

    « Pre-flight stay »

Stayed here in August 2017 before an early morning flight Didn't see much of the hotel but the room was clean and bed very comofrtable. Hotel bar was chilled and staff were friendly. Good distance and travel routes to the airport so this is ideal for anyone looking for a nights sleep before/after a flight at Manchester AIrport The only slight issue was that when we first went to our room, a wet towel on the floor was holding the door open which seemed rather odd. Obviously we just moved this to one side but didn't give the greatest initial impression.

« Loud music till midnight »

Spent a Saturday night after a family function. Got back to the hotel to find a party going on past midnight. Wasn't told when booking, had to wait over an hour to go to bed. Went to reception, was told we should have been told when booking and there was nothing they could do as hotel was full. If you get a room on the second floor at the weekend, expect to be kept up! The rooms are dated and not to the plus level I'd expect of a Best Western. Much more like any generic dump half the price. Pretty scummy place with bare plaster on some walls and worn carpet. Avoid if possible.

Hotel was easy to find and in a good location. Hotel very nice looking with a nice garden area loads of parking. Our room was fine although we had two single beds and the room got so hot we had to have the fan on all night after unsuccessfully trying to turn down the heating as the radiators weren't even on...very strange. Bathroom ok quite small but good shower and nice bath - a bit high to get in and out of and bath mats would be an idea - I read in the welcome brochure that they are available at reception but would be easy enough to provide for the convenience of guests. Enough towels and an iron with ironing board too. Television was small but had Freeview channels. Didn't order room service as the food seemed very expensive with £5 just for brining it on a tray - dominoes delivery was a lot cheaper ???? I would recommend this hotel and probably would return again ??

« Comfortable one night stay. »

Booked 2 rooms here in October. Travelled as a family of four and stayed for one night. We enjoy the extra space of having two rooms - my son and I in one room, my wife and our 2 year old in the other. This only works well if the price is right, but this hotel was no more (maybe less) than similarly located Premier/Holiday Inns and the standard probably a bit better. Here are a few of my thoughts - 1. Location: we were visiting relatives in South Manchester (Fallowfield) and the hotel was around a 10 minute drive when the traffic was quiet. On the Sunday night we stayed we could have chosen virtually any hotel in the city but opted for the less-hassle option of heading away from the city and parking more easily. In this respect we were not disappointed - road links are good and the car parking seemed plentiful. 2.Service - cannot fault anybody who we met during the stay - check in was polite and efficient. Initially we had rooms on different floors but this was changed swiftly enough when requested. 3. Quality of rooms - I get the impression from the website and other reviews that some rooms are really impressive. My wife stayed in an executive double room and was happy enough. I found the room a little lacking in space and was glad to get to the other room we booked. I'm not sure what this room was - I'm sure we originally booked a double and 2 single bedded family room as our second room but this room had a double and one single. Obviously we changed our room on checking in so I was not going to query this. In any case, this room seemed much more spacious, the bathroom was bigger, it had dual aspect windows being on the corner of the building. Overall, I was quite happy spending time in this room. We also ordered room service, which seemed fine. Wifi worked fine. Everything about the stay was more than adequate. For me, a comfortable 4/5, possibly deserving a bit more though the double room just underwhelmed me a little. Although I'd be happy to visit again, it's not one of those hotels which wowed me and left me wanting to return.

Stayed for one night before traveling to the airport .The hotel was pleasant disappointed that access to the leisure complex was by car due it being in Wilmslow. The food was good both in the bar and at breakfast . The staff were excellent and very skilled. Taxi service to the airport was efficient and a reasonable price. It was a good experience but do not think we would go again as there was nothing we could identify as ? special ?

« Superb hotel. Just what we needed! »

Stayed for one night and upgraded to Superior room. Stunning! Super king bed with sofa, armchair and coffee table. Bathroom was huge and beautiful. Large bath, large shower, fluffy towels. Perfect. Towelling robes and slippers provided. Fresh ground coffee and cafetiere. All immaculate. Ate in lounge bar - food was excellent and we'll presented. Breakfast was buffet-style. Food was hot and there was a good choice. Staff very pleasant and attentive.

« Modern, clean and comfortable, loud event could have meant a bad stay »

I stayed at the Best Western Wilmslow Pinewood for one night, a Saturday night, for a work related trip. The day before I arrived I had a phonecall from reception to see if there were any specific queries or requirements I wished to run by them - a lovely, proactive touch. Nice. I needed an iron and ironing board and these were in my room when I arrived. When I checked in, the reception staff were really welcoming and efficient. No queue either. I was in a rush to get to my work appointment, so asked if someone could help me unload my car, which they did, and kindly took my things to my room. I was so grateful as this helped me to stay on time for an extremely important appointment! Spacious double room, everything I needed. Biscuits were particularly good! 40 inch TV. Clearly this room had been refurbished, probably within the last 18 months. The bed was lovely and comfortable, plenty of pillows, 2 soft, 2 firm. Loads of towels, good spacious shower, high quality modern fixtures (throughout). Decent quality shampoo etc. Only issue was the volume of the party in the function rooms downstairs. It would have been appropriate and (I hope) understood by the party goers, if the music was turned down after, say 10pm, but it went on until 1am. This didn't affect me tremendously; perhaps I was just tired, but I do see there being some lack of consideration here. I would't be surprised if other guests complained. Decent stay, nice quality, affordable hotel.

I had 2 good nights here - the room was very nice and clean and a good standard. Bed and pillows were comfortable so I enjoyed my sleep. Bar menu is the same as the restaurant and the food was good and well presented. I would definitely stay here again.

    « excellent »

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night on 20th September prior to flying out to visit friends in USA . I booked some months prior and a few weeks before our visit I checked out the recent reviews (some of which were far from complimentery) so I was a little apprehensive - I didnt need to be - dont believe those negative reviews - this is an excellent hotel , good food , attentive staff , and yes they DO help you with a taxi to the airport. We had an excellent and trouble free stay

    3
    « Modern Hotel »

Having once lived in the area we returned for 3 nights to visit family. The room was modern, good wi fi, no bottled water and a bit stuffy. The room could do with better storage eg hooks by the door for coats, drawers in bedside tables and dressing table would be useful. It had a huge TV!! I know this is used by people travelling to and from the airport - hence the crowded carpark which we just managed to squeeze into. Breakfast was extra and as we don't usually eat this meal it wasn't a problem but this made the room rate a little more expensive. The bar area seemed to be frequented by a few local drunks - though not causing trouble it did bring the quality down a bit. I don't think this hotel caters for visitors of more than one night - they seem to be concentrating on the airport park and ride customers which is a bit of a detriment to others. The disco was quite loud too but it did end fairly early for a Sat night.

« Very good for the airport »

We stayed here in 2016 as it was much better value than the local budget hotel's and more convenient for the airport and parking. We decided to stay again in June this year before flying to Jamaica the main reason for staying here is there park and fly deal works out better value than the local budget hotels and airport parking, due to the hotel organising free transfers to and from the hotel I find this makes for a good start and end to the holiday. ARRIVAL / CHECK IN Parking in the long stay car park around the back of the hotel there was plenty of spaces available. The check in girl was very friendly and helpful telling us every thing we needed to know and arranging our taxi transfer for the following morning to the airport. THE ROOM The hotel called a few days before we were due to arrive and said all standard doubles were sold out and would we like and executive double at just £10 extra we decided to go for this. The executive double was a very good size room for 2 people the room was very clean and tidy with all the amenities you would expect from a hotel like this. THE BATHROOM the bathroom again a good size and very clean, I did notice some areas looking tired in the bathroom and some one seems to have gone mad with the sealant every were. The bed was very comfortable and we both got a good nights sleep. RESTURANT AND BAR We booked a table at the restaurant for the evening, being honest there was no need as it was dead only two other couples in there. PARK AND FLY the hotel has a separate car park for park and fly customers around the back of the hotel, plenty of spaces available, due to the over booking at T2 car park at Manchester airport we didn't want to take the risk and the price for the room and car parking was less than 1 weeks car parking at T2 great value for money from this hotel. to say how dead the restaurant was the service was quite slow and the staff not overly friendly or talkative. the food was ok but nothing special at all, the price as to be expected for this area was high. Generally a ok meal but nothing to write home about. the bar was very busy that night with a group of people who had far to much to drink they were being very loud and causing a nuisance. In my last review I mentioned the taxi drivers were very impolite and unfriendly this time round both taxi drivers were very good. We are looking to book soon of our 2018 holiday.

Stayed before and after a trip from Manchester airport. Service included car parking while away, taxi to and from the airport. « Very impressed »

We were using this hotel in readiness for an early flight the next morning, so we wanted peace and quiet and a good nights sleep, and we got it! We had a refurbed room on level three which was lovely. Could not fault the hotel at all, and would recommend the early bird deal at the Italian down the road.

I was lucky to be able to attend a special tasting menu event at restaurant one eighty recently. Well, what an experience! The restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, the staff are attentive and professional and the food is amazing. The flavours and presentation of the dishes was exceptional, can't think of 1 thing to fault. This was my 3rd visit to this restaurant and definitely won't be last. Special thanks to the chef for such a special meal.

    « Close to airport »

We stayed overnight before flying out home to Australia, we were really pleased with our choice, the room was spacious, clean and the bed was super comfortable. Plenty of parking and the wifi worked well. The hotel was close to shops and eateries. Everything you want and close to the airport.

    « Overnight stay »

Visited the hotel on 01/10. I was checking in quite late, therefore emailed the hotel to notify them not to put me into no show. Got a very quick answer that they do not resell the rooms after certain time. Which is a very good thing! Check in was very quick. Receptionists organized me a wake up call, taxi, invoice for the morning and even a lighter. Rooms are very clean, however the only minus no bottled water in the rooms. Great service from Will, couldn't catch the name of the other receptionist. I would recommend this hotel and looking forward to come back again in a week!

Nice hotel, perfectly situated for a short stay whilst travelling back to Australia. Within a 10min walk to a train station for easy access to Manchester City Centre. Rooms were nice and clean, comfy beds and the check in/out experience was seamless. Would definitely stay again on my travels to the UK.

    « Bloody awful. »

Went for a family funeral so not the best of visits. Was told we would have a discount on room because of the funeral tea being held there. No discount because we booked through Booking.com. even though we were told it could be sorted out at the hotel. Not a helpful receptionist at all. We had a meal (9 if us) in the restaurant booked for 7.15pm....the menu should read...what we have left!! A joke at that time in the evening. The food was terrible and the chef should be sacked. Cannot fault the other staff who were fighting a losing cause and were commendable, esp. the lady who was there in the evening/morning and afternoon. For the money paid it was terrible and we would not stay or recommend it to anyone.

    « Lovely Friendly Stafff »

Stopped here for one night as en-route to Manchester Airport the following morning. Upon arrival staff were extremely friendly, curtious and helpful, the process to our room booking to transfer to the airport the following morning was excellent. The hotel has had a recent refurb since we last stayed there and must say the rooms are excellent, lovely colours and a warm comfortable feel to them, so spotless ... would definitely recommend and certainly stay there again when travelling. Well done all... keep up the good work..

« Pre flight stay to avoid the traffic »

As we live an hour or so from the airport we decided to stay the night before so not to get caught out in the traffic. We arrived during darkness and rain so we didn't have much chance to see the outside of the hotel but it looked nice. We had a nice room which had everything we needed. We had a couple of drinks in the bar and had a snack from the bar menu. The hotel was very quiet but it was a Sunday night. In the morning even allowing for roadworks it was an easy drive to Manchester airport. We would definitely use the hotel again for early flights. Easy check in/out No problems at all.

    « No Airport Shuttle! »

This hotel bills itself as an airport hotel, and although the hotel is close to the airport, the hotel does not offer a shuttle. Expect to pay 26 GBP (!) roundtrip. The hotel staff also refused to help me book the taxi, so I had to do that myself over Skype while abroad, and their recommended taxi service was not organized or efficient, so it was a scramble to get to the hotel. When I arrived, I discovered that my room was up several flights of stairs (hotel desk staff did not offer to help me with my luggage, I had to ask). I was in a single room, which was clean and comfortable, however the very loud noise of water rushing through the plumbing system kept me awake. All in all, this was a disappointment despite the Best Western brand.

    « Never again »

My wife and I were unfortunate enough to stay one Saturday evening. We should have anticipated trouble after having been served the worst lunch ever, but not wanting to start our travels on a bad note, let it lie. We went shopping for the afternoon and returned to the hotel around 8 pm. OMG....ten feet from reception was a reception room with the door open and music vibrating the building. We couldn't even communicate with the staff to ask how long the music would be going on for it was so loud. Grim face we went to our room on the first floor above reception. Needless to say the floor was vibrating. As we were getting up for an early flight I decided to talk to the duty manager and find out when the madness would stop. It was going to be 11 pm for the live music to finish and midnight for the DJ's music to finish. We went to look at another room on the second floor which was no better, in fact a little worse than the room we were already in. It was now 10 pm and we had little option but to face a sleepless night. We insisted on a refund, which we received, however faced a 14 hour flight tired and worn out. NEVER AGAIN......

    « Excellent experience »

We booked the park stay and fly package direct with the hotel as I couldn't find anything suitable on the usual holiday extras websites. What a great find! The whole experience from getting a phone call from the hotel prior to our stay to check if we wanted restaurant reservations to the complimentary taxi to and from the airport made a stress free start and end to our trip. All the staff were extremely pleasant, our room looked like it had been recently refurbished as everything was new, clean and modern. but the best part was dining in the hotel. The food was amazing. The chef really knows his stuff. Far better than the usual airport hotels. Will definitely be staying here again next time we fly from Manchester.

    « Good choice »

Nice, clean Hotel. I got a double bed room which was perfect. Check-in and check-out easy and quick. Staff are OK, friendly. The Airport is very close, only 7-8 min by car or taxi. The breakfast is better than the average British one.

    « Lovely hotel »

Stayed here for 2 nights in a executive room. Lovely hotel in a quite suburban area outside of Manchester, massive, comfortable bed in a good sized room. We had a nice view of the gardens at the back of the hotel. Room & bathroom clean & well maintained with complimentary toiletries. Good selection at the buffet style breakfast with tea, coffee & toast brought to your table, no waiting for those awful toast machines that either give you burnt offerings or warm bread. All staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful, even on checkout on the Sunday morning when we asked if it was OK to leave the car in their car park so we could have another day out in Manchester we were told no problem. The train station is a good 10 minute walk away with direct line to Manchester picadilly station. There are lots of places to eat out near the hotel although we didn't try any as we spent most of our time in the city. Would stay here again.

« A very good hotel close to Manchester airport »

This was my first stay at this hotel but it won't be my last. It is well situated near to Manchester airport but far enough away not to be too bothered by aircraft noise. The room I had (superior) was large, very comfortable and well equipped to suit my needs. Wifi was good. I had room service food which was excellent and enjoyable. There are shops etc. a few minutes walk from the hotel. Breakfast items choice was varied and well presented. I look forward to my next stay!

« Lovely hotel but far too hot!! »

I have stayed here approx six times now on business. This hotel is very close to Manchester Airport which is good if you are travelling. The rooms are quite spacious with full tea and coffee facilities. Good selection at breakfast time too, staff are very friendly and more than helpful. Conference facilities are basic but they have coffee and tea on tap! The only drawback for me is that the rooms are very very hot it gets very warm at night, the window can be opened but there's very little air can get in. I have been offered a fan but it makes little difference and is noisy!!

« Close to the airport parking but rather crowded that weekend »

We arrived early and although we couldn't check in we were invited to sit in the lounge and buy coffee at the bar after we parked our car. We had arrived on a weekend of car clubs gets together. The foyer was filled with one lot leaving and another arriving and some, apparently, staying on. Oh, and there was the party for a 3year old girl - lots of shrieking, music and a booming PA system talking them trough party games. Time to check in, band on 2-00pm and a long wait for the lift to the 1st floor - lots of holiday cases, too heavy to walk up stairs. We got to our floor and found it full of enormous dirty linen containers and lists of busy staff. Unsurprisingly or room was on the others side of them. A well equipped room and good bathroom but out luggage took up a lot of the floor space and it was somewhat of an obstacle course to get from one side of the bed to the bathroom. Returning back downstairs to explore we again had a long wait for the lift, when it arrived it was full of dirty laundry containers and staff. We walked down. I'm sure this hotel is usually less disorganised but I was glad we decided to not have breakfast but leave early for the airport.

« Nice hotel, close to the airport »

This hotel proved to be a good price for a hotel so close to the airport.Reception and staff were friendly, the hotel clean and the room comfortable. It's everything you'd expect from a Best Western. The hotel has plenty of outdoor free-parking.Cost of a taxi into Manchester centre was approx £25 and £18 with Uber (off-peak). Nice choice if you need a good hotel close to the airport.

    5
« Perfect for what we needed »

We stayed here the night before our holiday. The hotel is clean, fairly spacious and well decorated. The staff were lovely and it was just what we needed for the night. Although we didn't eat at the restaurant, it looked very nice and if I was to return I would definitely try their food.

« Good reliable place to stay »

I stay here occasionally when we have a family gathering and we need to stay over. The rooms are always clean and the service good. Last time I stayed however the breakfast wasn't great. Everything was a bit over cooked and not that hot. The last time we stayed was for a family birthday. We stopped in at the bar for a last drink and the barman was a bit abrupt and slow. Also £22 for three drinks on my bill the next morning was a bit of an unpleasant surprise.

« Great hotel and place to stay »

I stay here on a regular basses with work and always a Great Place to stay. Never had a problem and with friendly staff always willing to help. Nice restaurant and good take always near by. Great breakfast.

« Family party with overnight stay »

The staff were particularly helpful. We had booked a room 'without stairs' for our elderly mother who had difficulty with mobility. When we arrived we found all rooms only accessible by lift and her room unsuitable as it had a bath not shower! We should have specified disable access. The staff scoured suitable rooms to change. The hotel was totally full making this difficult, however they did manage a room swap and upgraded our mother.

« Nice hotel - lacking in friendy service »

Nice hotel, but lacking in friendy service. Everyone (except the bar staff) seemed distant and made you feel inferior (I am an owner of 3 successful business'), and care deeply for MY staff. Do not expect late check out without cost, period. No shuttle to airport (Taxi only). Restaurant nice but unpretentious.

    4
    « A comfortable hotel »

This is a clean and comfortable hotel close to main routes and Manchester airport. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful but don't bother with dinner. The menu is extensive and fussy and the food.....well ordinary and expensive for what it is.

Stayed her last year before our flight, had the superior room which was fantastic, full on comfort, enjoyed it so much we are returning this year before my special birthday trip to Italy, and bringing the kids, again superior rooms. Thanks to all the staff who were so helpful, and made the start to our holiday a very enjoyable one. We had our evening meal here also, which was quite good value, and really nice. The hotel is only a short drive to the airport , and in a good area. Thanks again guys see you on 31st august .

Greeted at 3am, with pleasant smile and offer to help with luggage. The room was beautifully decorated, very restful pale and deep greens. Immaculately clean and bed soooo comfortable. « Perfect stop »

Very quiet hotel, far from the train station, but closer to the airport. We booked it thinking it might have a shuttle, but no such luck. The room was a good size, but with twin beds and no air conditioning. Although, it was cool outside, it was a bit stifling in the room and the window did not open all the way. The staff was very helpful and the hotel was very clean. A good place to stay if you don't mind catching a cab to the airport.

« Good location clean friendly staff »

Ideal hotel for Manchester city centre or the airport. Rooms clean and tidy, great breakfast lots of choice and large free carpark. Wifi good speed and lifts to floors which is helpful with a pushchair. Can be a bit pricey but is worth it for standard you receive.

    « Taxi from airport a disaster »

Stayed here mainly to take advantage of the park and fly offer. Sounds great and worked well from the hotel to the airport. The room itself was adequate for our needs. However, although we followed the instructions for the taxi pick up on return and having been told one would be there in 10 minutes, it was actually an hour of standing by the information board and several calls before the taxi arrived. We complained to the reception manager who sympathized and offered a cup of tea but frankly the cost of the taxi at least should have been refunded. Poor service with no explanation as to the delay. Will not use thus hotel again.

« Substanadard Accommodation for a Double Room. »

The room was very small with very poor amenities. Did not have a fridge which I required to put my medicine in. This room had very little space to move around and storage of our luggage was very limited. Where we were accommodated was very noisy and every time a guest open the fire door it was very loud. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Disappointing and noisy. »

Booked two nights in an executive room as this was advertised as being 'more spacious' than the standard room. I would not describe our room as spacious at all, it was on the smaller than average size for a hotel room, I have stayed in Premier Inns with bigger rooms. It was also a bit dark and the decor and furnishings were in need of a complete make over as it was very dated. However the biggest problem was how noisy the room was. We could hear every conversation of people in the hallway and unfortunately hear explicitly everyone's visit to the toilet and bathroom in adjoining rooms. There were a couple of functions in the hotel on the Friday night which went on till 1am with loud music which kept us awake. Our room was immediately above the function room and bar. Unfortunately we were not advised when checking in that functions were happening which is usual practice. The bar and restaurant were very pleasant and staff very friendly, we had a snack in the bar which was very good. Breakfast was ok . The cooked food was very good but the rest of the selections pastries, yogurts, fresh fruit exc. left a bit to be desired. Looked dry, and very little choice. When we checked out we mentioned the above to a member of staff. She advised that our room (110) was one of the quieter rooms. Not sure how! Bearing in mind that this is a BW plus, we would consider staying here again.

    « Great Hotel Just.........Noisy »

Hotel is great, staff brilliant, rooms great, the only issue I had with the hotel was the level of noise, from other residents either leaving the hotel or arriving, due to the locality of Manchester airport, if the hotel could insulate the rooms better that would make the stay perfect.

« Lovely setting, great room »

I had a fantastic room, it was massive but think this was becasue I booked last minute and it was all they had left, it was quite pricey! The reception staff were very friendly and answered all my questions. Room service was good but again a little bit pricey. The only negative was that breakfast starts quite late on the weekend and I had to leave really early so I couldn't get any

We have stayed at the pinewood many times, wether it be visiting family or a base to stay before we go to the airport. We like the hotels modern interior, especially in the restaurant which is always nice for dinner and breakfast. The rooms are always clean, and beds comfy. Staff are professional and friendly! A good all round hotel in South Manchester.

    « Great hotel »

Stayed here for a night in June whilst visiting customers. Food - evening meal and breakfast, both of very good quality and the Malbec is nice to. Rooms - well furnished, modern and extremely comfortable. Had a great nights sleep after a week of travelling. Staff - very polite Only issue was getting my laptop onto the wifi but I think it was the user not the wifi.

« Cleanliness let scoring down »

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable, though small basics of cleanliness were missing ie mirror not clean, glass with lipstick mark and coffee mug not clean, bathroom had hairs in bath and floor, wardrobe woodwork dusty. Once they were reported and pointed out to reception, it was immediately corrected by staff. Food was lovely and breakfast excellent.

During a total stay (weekday nights only) covering 170 nights at this address, I have nothing but praise for the whole team. Quality premises, good food, and cheery but sincere personalities. I would not hesitate to recommend this address family, friends or business acquaintances.

We have just spent three nights at the lovely hotel. Couldnt fault the staff or service. My partner was doing the 10k run in manchester. So only a short train ride away from hotel. The only problem was that the noise and bad language from a guest attending a wedding at the hotel was quite bad. It carried on till early hours of the morning . When we told reception staff the following morning they did appologise and said they had a wedding party in the next night too and it shouldnt be too bad ..... although still noisy there wasnt any foul language ..

    « First Class Hotel »

We stayed at this lovely hotel the night before our flight to the Maldives and also the night we landed. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we had a lovely spacious room both nights. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel is ideally placed to reach Manchester Airport and would definitely recommend.

« One night stay for airport convenience »

Checked in by a pleasant member of staff who arranged for help with our bags, although no trolley's are available perhaps that is something to look at in the future. The room was clean with a queen bed but the window is security wired so will only open a few inches and as there isn't any AC that might be problematic if we get a good summer in Manchester! We booked an evening meal which was nice with plenty of choices for food and drink, after a rested night sleep ( I would ask for a room at the back next time away from the traffic noise, not excessive but nevertheless) we had a buffet breakfast which was freshly cooked and my husband assures me the coffee was really good, check out went just as smoothly and again we were helped with our bags, it is just a short drive to Manchester airport so we arrived refreshed and relaxed.

    « Nice Hotel »

I stayed here for a night a few weeks ago. The location is very convenient for Manchester Airport, and is a half hour drive from the city. There's local shops and restaurants within walking distance in the village. The receptionists were all really friendly and check in was very quick. My 1st floor room was a little on the small side but was fine for a night. It was well decorated and had plenty of desk and storage space. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite was clean. The bar is reasonably priced, the staff are friendly and the garden is a lovely peaceful place to relax with a drink in the evening. Overall a pleasant stay- I'd happily return if need be (which I'm sure it will!) and the would definitely recommend this BW for a stopover.

    4
    « Airport stopover - Noisy wedding »

An ideal stop over, lovely hotel. Shame about the extreme noise BASE - BANG BANG from a wedding. I would think the thumping noise was exceeding the legal limit. Only consolation was that it finally stopped at midnight. If you have an early flight, check first if there is a wedding going on.

« Not All Quiet on the Best Western Front »

Attended a wedding at this hotel Friday and Saturday night. We arrived on Friday evening and on booking in at reception were told they had an event on. Our room was on the 2nd floor 2 floors up from the event so we would not be disturbed by noise. If the reception staff believe this to be true they must never have stayed in any of their rooms. The noise from the ,event, finally stopped at 1.15 am. That was the time we actually managed to get some sleep. Unfortunately the experience was repeated on the Saturday. We were even further away from the disco but it did not stop the constant drumming. I can only assume that when the rooms were added to the hotel there was inadequate insulation and soundproofing installed. It may be ok midweek but if you are booking with a view to staying prior to a flight from Manchester Airport I strongly advise you enquire if they have any events on that particular evening.

« Lovely hotel spoilt by noisy party »

Lots of parking & a warm welcome on arrival. We were advised at check-in of a function that was taking place in the evening, but the receptionist said as we were on the 3rd floor it shouldn't affect us too much. We went out for an evening meal & returned around 21:00 to find the function in full swing. After going up to our room we found it was too warm (it had been a sunny day) so we opened the window. This unfortunately meant we could hear the loud music from the function. So we were left with a dilemma. Have the window open & be unable to sleep because of the noise, or have the window closed & be unable to sleep because the room was too warm. We decided to leave the window open. But we did not expect the function to continue until 02:00! Breakfast was good, but all in all, we did not enjoy our stay as we were unable to sleep. This spoilt what would otherwise be a lovely hotel. We do not plan to return, and based on our experience we will not be recommending this hotel.

« Safety and comfort and customer service is unheard of at best western »

This is the second time i have stayed for business . Yuck yuck yuck. Customer service is non existent . I was put in a twin room that was approximately 10 foot by 10 foot . No air con and no opening window . It was a sauna . I asked to chane rooms that one that had adequate ventilation and was told they were all booked up except for one above a function until 1/2 am . I advised I wasn't here for work and needed to sleep and was told tough luck. At 130 pounds for two nights with no breakfast it's too much to ask for sleep. How is this even adequate h&s when the window is locked shut and can't be opens until 8 am , and no air con in a box room which is without exaggeration a sauna . I have pre hooked pinewood best western for several Months stay and will be looking at cancelling . Whatever you do I sincerely advise you don't stay here .. you may be lucky to get one of the rooms that has been done up and has a window or you may not . Apart from that customer services that says at 10pm tough luck is way outnofmoreer !

    « Fabulous hotel »

We stayed here for one night before flying from Manchester on holiday. We would normally stay on the airport but so glad we didn't. This hotel is an absolute gem! We had a fabulous double aspect bedroom in the old part of the building looking out onto the lovely gardens. Our two course evening meal was perfection but wine a little over priced. Breakfast was equally good and the dining room also looks out over the garden. Friendly and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. We will certainly stay here again next time we travel through Manchester...well worth the extra taxi fare to get here. We feel like we started the holiday from the moment we arrived in the hotel!

    « Excellent Service »

Stayed one night here before a flight from Manchester Airport. Booked in for Room Only plus taxi to the airport (15 mins. drive) and back again a week later to retrieve our car. Taxi service very efficient. We had dinner at the hotel. The food was good. Wine fine too, but expensive, but this is par for the course at airport hotels. Our room was fine, but the radiator was horribly noisy and warm, despite being turned off (it was a warm night). I phoned Reception and a member of staff arrived within five minutes. She said she didn't have anyone on site to deal with the fault, but she would move us to another room on the same floor, if that was OK? We were fine with that and the room happened to be an executive room at no extra charge. The member of staff was very helpful and we were impressed with the customer service.

    « Our wedding »

We had our wedding breakfast and evening celebration at The Pinewood on Wilmslow on 30th April 2017. From the first time we went to view the hotel until we booked out we were met with the utmost politeness and professionalism. The staff made our celebration an amazing event by the manner and helpfulness. Our guests stayed over and joined us at breakfast and again the staff were truly helpful. The room for our celebration was beautifully presented and we were able to leave everything to them, leaving us free to party.

« Should have been 5* but let them selves down badly »

Working in Wilmslow for 4 nights so based on reviews, this was one of the places to stay, so I did. Everything was as on the box described, ate in the restaurant very deserved of the 2 rosettes. Wifi great, room decor all good shower pressure could be a bit more stronger for me, but that's just me, all in all a great experience so far. Then Saturday afternoon /night arrives and then it went to s##t. Firstly after working a particularly hard day, was having a quick snooze in the Arvo and off goes the fire alarm, not once twice, 3times and more. In the end, I rang reception and was given an explanation that there was an issue with the ventilation, that's it. My issue is why, didn't the hotel let the guests know via public address system, what was going on instead of me having to ring and find out, the guest across the way, got out the shower ventured into the hallway to find out what was going on, very un professional on all accounts and certainly not the best health and safety practices. This leads on to the highlight of my visit, whilst I fully understand that your venue caters for weddings/events, I can't for the life of me understand why paying customers, and you certainly are not the cheapest option in the area, need to be subjected to hoards of pissed up wedding guest marauding through the hotel, shoe less in a lot of the case, imagine if I had done that on a non wedding night, basically making it like a Friday night in Blackpool. Some one actually spewed up in front of the lift. The noise kept me awake till past 1am, and your answer, two a4 sheets, blue tacced, with a request to try and keep the noise down as guests might trying to sleep Well done chaps, it didn't work and lastly to top it all off, somebody scrapped the side of my van, I'm assuming pissed up trying to get out, but I'm only guessing but a pretty good guess I'm betting. What started as a great visit become a truely awful experience.

« Really excellent would highly recommend »

If your looking for an airport stop over dont bother with the horrible overpriced hotels round the airport stay here. Lovely tranquil setting, absolutely spotless room, comfortable and modern. Nice well Lovely grounds, this is a really great example of hotel that the owners take a real pride in looking after. Great staff. Only 5 mins to the airport. Nice area with local shops and pubs. Plenty of free parking. Highly recommended.

    « Room with a View... »

Loved this hotel, I booked a superior room with balcony -it was gorgeous! Thoughtfully furnished and stylishly decorated. I had the best nights sleep in the king sized bed. I will be a regular whenever I'm in the area on business! Super standards thank you!

« Brilliant Hotel but bathroom a little on the small side! »

Booked in for a night while attending an event in Manchester. Got to the hotel late in the evening and car park was very busy but lucky its also on the large side so this wasn't an issue. Check in was quick and easy as we had pre-paid. Room was on the 3rd floor and was very nice, clean and tidy. The only small issue was the bathroom was a little too small no bath just a shower (a bath would have not fitted in). However saying that the room was quiet and comfy. Breakfast was nice, lovely sausages and quick service. Overall would happily stay here again, Very nice hotel!

    « Great hotel »

Stay at this hotel whenever I am working in Manchester. Rooms are lovely - well maintained and clean, beds comfortable - great pillows and bedding, food good - always fresh and well cooked, staff great - very helpful. Would suggest you give it a try if staying in the area.

« Great nights sleep after the flight home »

I booked a superior room as I knew our flight would get in late and this hotel looked good and was handy for the airport/our parking. It was our first trip abroad, just the two of us since our honeymoon 20 years earlier and i wanted somewhere nice. The room was lovely and spacious with fruit and bottled water, lovely comfy bed and well fitted bathroom. The cooked breakfast was really tasty, but I have to mention the granola bar where you could mix your own cereal - finally no dried fruit (made me happy anyway). Great staff, clean and comfortable room and lovely food. Finished our short break off perfectly. We've booked again for this year (with the kids this time, wish us luck). Looking forward to another visit.

« Great loction for luxury travellers »

Me and my girlfriend stayed at this well-situated hotel prior to our flight out to Sicily in July. It's ideal location to the airport, scenic gardens and luxurious, countryside-esque presentation made it a top choice when choosing our pre-flight slumber destination. Being in early holiday mode, we made excessive use of the bar (be warned - bit of a toll on the wallet). The bar area was a very relaxing and friendly environment, consisting of leather sofas and televisions showing live sports. An extensive range of drinks and bar food is also available However, as we were on the liquid tea menu, I couldn't comment on the standard of food. Please note, the reception and bar area were quite rowdy due to a wedding currently taking place (a regular occurrence I'm led to believe). However, if you are wanting a quiet evening, do not let this put you off, you cant hear anything once on the above floors where the rooms are. Following a good skinful and a stagger to the local village for a kebab we retired to the room to get some sleep. The rooms were above-average standard, complete with comfy beds, regular amenities and a pleasant, clean bathroom. If you are wanting a luxury stay ahead of jetting off to a holiday destination, this is definitely worth considering.

« Noisy by the lift »

We decided to stay here as it was half the price of on airport hotels. Everything was fine with the hotel, the room was comfortable and it wasn't too expensive to get to the airport the following morning. The main issue was that we were in the room next to the lift. Every time the lift arrived it made a loud 'ping' which went on throughout the night. Another issue was that people getting in and out of the lift throughout the night at 1am, 2am, 3am etc. didn't seem to have any awareness of the locality of the bedrooms to it so chatted away at quite a volume. In a normal hotel this probably wouldn't be quite as much of an issue but with this being near the airport people are coming and going at all hours. We had to be up at 4am to get our flight and I felt like I had an hours sleep in total. So overall, I'd recommend this hotel if you want a cheaper night before you fly but if you get to your room and its next to the lift it might be a wise idea to ask to move.

Just back from one night stop over here and have to say had a fab time. The hotel is lovely and spotlessly clean and the gardens are beautiful and lovely to sit in and relax. I didn't eat in hotel but chatting to others there they said the food was very good. If you fancy heading out to eat can recommend the Bulls Head had a wonderful meal here and staff were great. It is only about a 10/15 minute walk from hotel. Will definitely stay here again

    « Bargain offer »

I stayed at the Pinewood when in Manchester on business primarily because they were running a special Easter offer of bed and breakfast making this hotel the most competitive in the area. Hotel is close to Manchester airport and the centre of Handforth with its restaurants and shops. There is a large car park and plenty of spaces though those on the far side of the garden require quite a walk to reception. When I arrived I was warmly welcomed and quickly checked in. The reception staff were very friendly and ensured that I was made aware of the busy periods in the restaurant and where all facilities were located. I was allocated an ?accessible? room on the third floor that had been recently refurbished. The room was clean and bright with a large double bed covered in the now obligatory array of cushions. The bed was very comfortable with a firm mattress and soft pillows. All the usual facilities for tea and coffee making were provided plus some very nice shortbread biscuits. An iron, and ironing board were tucked away in the wardrobe. Due to the large ?accessible shower room with wet area the room was smaller than normal and with the table and armchair a little cramped. There is no air conditioning and heating is from a very effisient electric heater though the control panel is so bright it acts as a night light if left switched on. The shower room was vast with a large wet area for the shower. It was brightly lit with excellent lighting over the mirror and a plentiful supply of toiletries. Towels were large, fluffy and soft. The shower was very inefficient with very low water pressure. Not the best to rinse away the nightime cobwebs. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and for once no issues with toasters as toast and tea or coffee is prepared and brought to your table. However it does mean coffee lovers cannot have the variety that is available from self service machines. There was a good selection of fruits, Kellogs mini pack cereals, fruit juices and cold meats on the buffet. The cooked breakfast was limited to bacon, sausage, egg, saute potato, beans, tomato and mushroom. Scrambled and poached eggs were also on offer. Throughout breakfast the staff were very efficient, quickly clearing away empty plates and offering more toast, tea or coffee. Overall this was a good value stay, though at normal rates there is better value to be found in other local chains. Would I stay again, absolutely as at these rates it is great value, but at normal full price perhaps not.

    « Quiet and ideal »

Clean, spacious rooms, although lacking a bath if that's important to you. Large TV in the room with facilities such as an iron, kettle, safe, hairdryer. A pub, along with a different range of takeaways and restaurants are just a short walk away, if the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel is too expensive for your liking. You won't find anything such as a gym, pool, spa etc here - but then again, a lot of places don't offer this service. Parking is off road and feels safe and secure. Staff are friendly and make the stay easy. The Metrolink (East Didsbury) is just a 10 minute drive away where you can park for free and jump straight into the centre of Manchester. Would stay again if the correct price became available.

    « Perfect Wedding Venue »

We got married here in Feb. This hotel is clean and modern. The staff are fabulous and the food it spot on. The rooms are amazing, spacious and modernised to a very high spec. We've been back to eat a few times since as the food is so good. It's a wonderful place.

« Still good but room for improvement »

We have stayed here as a couple and loved both the room and the restaurant, but this time booked our daughters in too. We had a room in the new block which was not up to the standard of our previous stay, NO BATH, which was unexpected for the price. The room was also uncomfortably hot with no way to override the safety catch on the window to enable more than a 2 inch opening, and no air conditioning. The restaurant served really good food, but the service was somewhat erratic as they really busy with a wedding and it eventually trailed off completely. We would have liked coffee but everyone had disappeared. It was still a good night's stay but I'm not entirely sure we received the service we expected for the price.

« Rooms For Our Wedding Guests »

We got married at the end of February and needed a room block for our guests, I dealt with Ruth the Reception Manager and she was just great. Any changes or new bookings she very confirmed them in a prompt manner, also Ruth kindly upgraded our room which meant the morning of our wedding when I was getting ready with family and friends there was plenty of room. On the night before the wedding we also had a nice meal in the restaurant area, breakfast both mornings was very nice too. Thank you Ruth you were fabulous and a credit to the hotel.

    « WoW....just WoW »

Stayed here prior to a meeting I was having in Stockport. I can HONESTLY say it was an absolute delight - from entry to departure. Reception (Sarah?), was welcoming and efficient. The room was slightly on a smaller scale than most hotel rooms, but it was well laid out. Clean and well stocked incl safe. Dinner was DIVINE. I had the burger and truffle & parmesan fries, which I still think and talk about today. Service was also excellent. Nice area to relax with a drink afterwards. Plenty of parking + free WiFi. Exceptional hotel with exceptional food and exceptional staff.

    « Pleasant but outdated »

The staff were fantastic and the exterior and reception looked lovely, rooms are slightly outdated and could do with modernisation. Cleanliness was good and shower was old but very powerful. Rub a dub dub Id like a modern tub.

« Good quality, reasonably priced »

We stayed here because most of the hotels in Manchester were full or ridiculously priced due to the Christmas market and big Mancs vs Arsenal match. A little bit further out than we would have liked for a city visit but great for the airport. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful - a joy to be served by staff from the area as it lends to the sense of place when you're travelling. The decor generally was good, bedrooms well appointed, beds comfy and rooms quiet. I would have liked a hairdryer in the room, but I'm sure reception could have provided one, so a relatively minor point. Breakfast in the morning was of a good standard and the buffet generously provisioned. Would stay here again.

Just returned from a 2 night stay for my best friends wedding can't praise this place enough. Lovely hotel with such a relaxed feel the perfect balance, room was great huge and everything you could ask for we had a family room with bunk beds our girls loved it. Now for the icing on the cake the staff AMAZING really top notch the wedding was perfect went 100% to plan thanks to Lucy you do a fab job nothing was too much trouble you're a true asset to the hotel. The lovely ladies who took care of our rooms were ace too not sure of their names our rooms were 143,128,129 etc thank you all so much we all had a wonderful time. If your thinking of having a celebration or just some time out then you're sure to enjoy this hotel x

    « OK.... »

Close to the airport, which is why I stayed there. The staff seemed like I was bothering them when checking in or ordering food and drink at the bar. The room was difficult to get to, had to get off on the third floor, go up stairs, down stairs, and finally found my room after a maze of a hallway. Room was VERY small with tiny shower. It was fairly clean.

« Very convenient for Airport (if driving) »

A 10 minute drive along country lanes from the airport & car hire return, but be careful if driving in rush hour (then you need 25 minutes!). Good rooms, good service. Short 45 minute walk to village with shops and several restaurants.

    5
« Very friendly quiet stay »

We needed a place to stay for 2 nights prior to a party in Stockport. This met the bill and more. Although listed as an airport hotel and 15 minutes from the airport you are not aware at all of the planes, nor people coming and going in the night o catch planes. We had one of the third floor new rooms, lovely finish, very comfortable bed and quiet. We had asked on phoning in advance for a quiet room and it was all noted on our reservation. Breakfast good choice hot and cold. Very friendly staff made it a good stay.

    « A REAL TREAT »

We have just had a three night stop at this hotel, and must say what a pleasure it was from the moment we parked the car. Yes a car park with ample space. On getting to reception we were greeted by a lovely warm and friendly receptionist who took care of all the booking in side of the visit. Into the room and what a great feeling of cleanliness and comfort. Superb. Warm and friendly staff throughout with nothing being too much trouble. Public transport into Manchester is virtually right outside the hotel on the other side of the road. It takes about 50min but saves all the parking worries. The one and only downside we could find was the cost of the restaurant. There are other restaurants just down the road in the village of Handforth should you so wish. All in all a very worthy stay. Thanks to all the staff.

« Positives outweigh the negatives »

Stayed here for one night with a party of delegates visiting the UK. Prior to arrival: Due to the M56 being closed as a result of a bad accident, we arrived about an hour and a half late. During that tortuous journey to the hotel, the front desk staff were excellent in providing information to us about the closing time of the restaurant etc. Location: A bit out of the way, but a nice semi-rural setting; plenty of car parking but not so good for a coach. Check-in and out: Smooth and organised; providing luggage storage for a short period of time etc. Restaurant: Good quality late meal with very good service for a group of people; extensive buffet breakfast. Public areas: Tastefully decorated with a comfortable bar area. Bedroom and bathroom: I was in a standard double and it was comfortable, albeit rather dated. The bathroom had some dubious grouting and mastic work - not up to 4* hotel standard. Our driver was in a single room and he informed me that he struggled to sleep because of the size of the bed. To sum up: The hotel served its purpose well as a last night stop-over before going into Manchester for the day and then flying from Manchester Airport. All members of staff we encountered were polite and friendly and all in all, it turned out to be a good overnight stay.

    « Excellent hotel stay »

We stayed here the night before our holiday in October 2016. we found this to be an excellent hotel in every respect. The staff could not be more helpful, and the hotel is very nicely appointed. Our room was clean and comfortable. Although the restaurant and bar looked nice, We did not eat here as we wanted to go into Manchester. We were advised of the location and distance to the train station by the hotel receptionist (10 minute walk). We chose the park and stay option, and paid £108 for the room + 17 nights parking! this price also included a return taxi service to and from the airport. Absolute no brainer if flying from Manchester airport. Highly recommended.

    « Truly Shocked »

We had a lovely looking large room but the noise from a golf club party below was extremely bad. We complained but were told there was nothing they could do. The next day we met a manager and were granted a ~50% refund and told that they had never had any complaints about noise in that room. Looking back through TripAdvisor, we see numerous complaints, so they knew all along that we would have had a problem. They should never have let the room to anyone other than someone attending the party. Even then, they would have been disturbed by staff clearly up afterwards and very loud plumbing sounds.

Our 2nd stay this year...once again a fantastic experience. We were in one of the brand new rooms and absolutely nothing to complain about! Spacious comfortable and well appointed. The best thing about this hotel tho....the staff. Absolutely nothing too much trouble. A brilliant reflection on hotel manager John Scott! Roll on our next stay. Ps. Fantastic breakfasts!!??

    « Really nice »

Recently stayed in one of the suites of the hotel. Really lovely spacious room with lots of complimentary goods. Had room service from the hotels restaurant, excellent food. Bed really comfortable so really good nights sleep. Good selection for breakfast- cooked breakfast and continental available. Would be nice if breakfast did cater for allergies so for me the selection was slightly limiting. Very friend staff at the hotel and I would stay there again.

    « Excellent ! !! »

I love this place, the staff are so friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them, our room was beautifully decorated and immaculate. John the manager really makes you feel at home. I can't wait to go back. The breakfast is amazing too ! X

« Overnight stay near to airport »

Will definitely stay here again. 15 minute drive to the airport. Room was really clean and comfortable. Staff were both friendly and efficient, and we had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Also very good value for money compared to many of the other hotels around the airport. Totally recommend.

« Rey good airport option »

This was a real surprise. We had fairly low expectations of a c.£60 per night hotel near an airport, but this place appears to have received a comprehensive re-fit fairly recently and is therefore modern, comfortable and quiet. A ten minute drive to the airport makes it very convenient for an early morning flight, and we will certainly stay again when the need arises. We didn't try the restaurant or breakfast, so can't vouch for either ( though the evening and room service Menes looked fine).

« Cant complain and food nice »

This is a decent hotel, staff are helpful although the layout of the hotel means you dont really get a chance to see them. Its a bit convaluted and hard to find rooms but you get a mix of people there coming for all sorts of different events which makes it fun, the breakfast is nice too. Much better value for money than the more expensive average hotels in Manchester

« Perfect for the Airport. »

I needed a comfortable, reasonably priced, easy to find hotel with 24 hour desk, and easy journey to Manchester Airport. The roads around the airport can be horrible in the morning, especially on a Monday. I needed to check in late, park my rental car, check out early, drive to the airport, return my rental car, and get to my terminal with minimal problems. This hotel provided everything I needed. Perfect spot for an early morning drive to airport. Friendly staff, wake up call, tea kettle in room, comfortable, spotless room. good night's sleep ....perfect. (And even a clearly marked route to the airport, and a petrol station en route ....perfect!).

    3
    « Don't rely on a wake up call! »

Overnight stay for early flight was not a good experience - no wake up call as requested and WORSE, they sent my taxi away!! I woke by chance at 4.40, rushed down to be told the taxi didn't know the room number so they sent it away. I was not pleased! I did get to the airport later than planned but it was not a good start.

    « Park & Fly Package »

Myself & my mum stopped here for 1 night before our flight the next day from Manchester. The staff were all very polite & helpful. When we arrived and checked in the receptionist said we wasn't booked down for breakfast, having explained that we had already paid for this when booking the room she soon sorted this out for us, I think her name was Kathryn. We had some dinner in the bar area, which was very tasty & a few drinks. There was a wedding on at the time so the atmosphere in the hotel was great. We had a twin room which was perfect for a one night stay, slept well & couldn't hear a sound from any other guests. Breakfast in the morning was buffet style, help yourself. It was great, lots of choice from cereals, continental, to cooked breakfast. Tea, coffee, juice etc. Within the park & fly package we got a twin room, breakfast each, parking for 3 nights & also a taxi to and from the airport, the hotel use a taxi firm called Lynx & they book the taxis for you when you check in. On the morning we checked out waiting for our taxi, after half an hour it still hadn't showed up, reception gave them a ring for us and the taxi firm said they hadn't received a booking for us. Which was a lie as i got a confirmation text through on my phone, however after reception phoning them they sent one out straight away. They was also about 45 minutes late picking us back up from the airport, even after we had rang them to say we had collected our baggage! So the only fault was the taxi firm, the hotel was great & would stay there again!

    « Wedding overnight stay »

We stayed overnight as celebrated my friend's wedding here. Was a fab day and night and most of the staff were very very good. John was always checking everything was ok and any issues were resolved quickly. The rooms are spacious and modern and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast was very tasty. Had a fantastic time at the wedding and my little 1 year old daughter enjoyed her stay too!

    « Wedding 2nd September 2016 »

Me and my new wife Danielle just wanted to say a massive thank you to the Pinewood team. The feedback is a little late but it really was the best day of our lives and the Pinewood did not disappoint us. We had over 100 guests for the day and around 170 total for the evening and everyone we have spoken to since said what a wonderful venue it was and how good the staff were. A special mention to Lucy who co-ordinated the wedding for us on the day and had everything running to a tee and made us feel massively at ease as soon as we arrived. We really cannot fault anything about the hotel from the rooms to the food on the day which was superb. Thank you so much for all of your help in making the day extra special for us and sorry about the delay in feedback. Thanks Matt and Danielle Lillis

I believe in praise where it's due, we stayed overnight for a family visit. From arrival to checkout, this hotel was faultless. Our executive double room was gorgeous with a very comfortable bed..and the little touches were all place for you , pillows were numerous lol and the decor was modern and light....a flat screen on the wall opposite the bed made having a morning cuppa very comfy....a big plus for me was the staff...from night to day the staff were friendly and attentive...breakfast was hot with plenty of choices even though we were almost at the end of breakfast service. Overall I'm very impressed...lovely relaxing overnight stay..

    « Good quality hotel »

Ample parking on arrival, reception staff friendly, efficient and welcoming, reception area, bar and restaurant warm and comfortable. Had booked a balcony room, not particularly useful in Manchester in October, but would be nice with decent weather. Room large and well equipped and nicely decorated, bed very comfortable, bathroom clean and asthetically pleasing, only negative was the glass shower door which wouldn't stay in position, allowing water to flood the floor

    5
« Good Hotel for Park & Fly »

Stayed here before our flight from Manchester Airport, good clean rooms in the new building and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. Didn't use any of the other facilities, including bar or breakfast, so can't comment on these. A word of warning if your planning to leave your car in the car park for a few weeks or so, watch where you park your car and make sure it's not under one of the many trees in the hotel grounds, as you may return to a car covered in leaves and tree sap, and the inevitable clean up job. Perhaps the management could think about bringing this to your attention, by placeing a warning note on the taxi pick-up information sheet that is handed to you at check-in.

« Great hotel for Manchester airport »

It was meant to be a simple overnight stop before our flight. Being a touch delayed we rang in to see if we still had time for dinner. Our experience from Sophie at reception who was super attentive and helpful to Karen the restaurant manager, was first class. Above average food, tasteful well designed bedrooms, attractive surroundings and a 10/15 drive to the airport. On top of that very good value price when we booked. Thanks a great stay to start our holiday. On important point. There are two Best Western hotels in this area with Winslow in the address. Just make sure that your satnav has the correct one. They do weddings.

    « Overnight for a flight »

We booked this hotel very last minute, it was very nice. The room was a little small but cosy. The staff were very nice and extremely helpful they printed off my flight tickets for my flight the following morning. It's about 10minutes from Manchester airport.

« Very Good Overnight Stay »

We stayed at The Pinewood the night before our holiday flight We arrived at the hotel following a horrendous journey through thunderstorms and torrential rain, indeed the hotel had been flooded at the entrance. On arrival we were told that our room had been upgraded and as this was my birthday this was a lovely surprise. Dinner was lovely apart from my choice had run out. Compensation was a glass of Prosecco for my husband and I. Unfortunately the taxi booked for our transport to the Airport was delayed by 1/2 an hour apparently due to the taxi firm not picking up the email. The staff were lovely, friendly and polite. It would have got 5 stars but for the taxi problems

« Okay hotel but with paper thin walls! »

The hotel was well presented on arrival with friendly staff, and since we were only there for 1 night before an early morning flight, the room was basic but just what we needed. Unfortunately for us - and for others I'm sure - the walls are paper thin! I could hear every word from the guests next door, and when trying to get an early night for an early flight, this was annoying. Having eventually gone to sleep, we were then woken by next door's alarm which was as loud as our own alarm would have been. So, even though the location is okay for the airport and the rooms are great for a quick stop over before a flight, don't expect any peace and quiet!

    « Fantastic Disabled Room »

We stopped here for one night while son was having a party at home!! Very welcoming when we arrived, easy check in. Room had plenty of room for wheelchair. Very comfortable beds (twin beds). Excellent shower room, plenty of room and even had a shelf to put shampoo and shower gel on, which most wet rooms don't. Large smart TV with great picture. When we went into bar there was a wedding do going on in the function room, so was a bit noisy but not bad. When we went up to room coud not hear any noise.

« Not a good experience this time »

We have used this hotel a number of time for park & fly from Manchester and have in the past been very satisfied with the accommodation but unfortunately not this time We arrived late Friday afternoon and were booked into room 245, there was a wedding party going on so it was busy but not unduly so and we went straight up to our room. Room quite small but sufficient for just the one night so we sorted our bags out and rested after our journey. We went out to eat and arrived back at about 7.15pm and as we had a very early flight we showered and settled down to watch some TV before getting some sleep. However, we were over the room where the wedding party was going on, although we were two floors up and the noise was extremely loud, we could hardly hear the TV or the music going on below. After about an hour I rang reception and asked what time the disco below would finish and was told 1pm, I then asked why we had been put in that room why not put some of the wedding guests in there that were at the party. We were offered another room quite a way away and told we could leave our luggage in the original room and just sleep in the new one, I went to have a look (in my pyjamas, meeting other guests on the way) that room was lovely, I asked why were we not offered that one originally and was told it was a new receptionist!! Anyhow it was quite a way away and it just didn't seem realistic to be tripping about the hotel in the early hours in our night clothes so we declined. We had to be up at 4am so had roughly 3hrs sleep, needless to say neither of us were in the best of moods the following morning. They did refund us 50% of our bill for the inconvenience but we now would not stay there again. More thought needs to be put into putting guests into the correct area of the hotel according to their needs, If you are booking a park & fly I would check whether wedding or parties are going on because they do a lot of them and where your room would actually be.

    « One for recommendation »

Stayed here for family wedding and all of us were of the same opinion. Very good value for money. Clean and comfortable, not just the rooms but the bar and lounge areas. Pleasant and obliging staff. Would definitely stay again.. and would recommend.

    « Noisy overnight stay »

We stayed here for one night after a late flight into Manchester airport. When we arrived the reception area was full of noisy and drunk wedding guests. The staff were trying their best but were clearly under severe pressure. We were told the bar was open (1.15 am) but was so busy with argumentative customers and a harassed barman that we gave up on any hope of a nightcap. The room was large and well equipped. We were allocated a disabled room (assume that all other rooms were occupied) which was next to the lift. We did not get to sleep until 4am due to constant noise from the wedding guests outside the room - some people really are very inconsiderate. Whilst we accept that it's not the hotel's fault that folk get drunk at receptions they should surely make sure that non-wedding guests are not grossly inconvenienced. To cap it all we found a biscuit under the bed which does not speak well for the cleaning staff and whoever does the checking. The taxi service works very well to and from the airport. On any other day of the week bar Saturdays this probably a reasonable place to stay.

    « Weddings »

This is a very good hotel, we used it for an overnight stay before flying off from Manchester airport. It is set in a very pretty location which attracts wedding venues, the only issue we had was attempting to access the bar which was over run with wedding guests, its time the hospitality industry woke up to the concept of adequate staff during busy periods. That was the only gripe otherwise we would have given a 5 star rating. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the room clean, comfortable and quiet, the taxi service to and from Manchester airport was seamless a very good park and fly service. We will stay here again.

« Great stoppover for airport »

I like Best Western hotels , never had a bad one yet , again this came up to standard & was great for an overnight stay for the airport Approx 10 minutes drive. Nice clean room with an amazing shower .. Only one bad point & I let it go as they seemed to be under pressure, I came down for breakfast & had to find a table for myself , asked for some coffee & was asked rather abruptly if anyone had taken my name & room number WHOOPS SORRY , however all was soon put right as a senior staff member had overheard & I was very quickly served with fresh coffee & lots of hot toast. Wi fi is a little slow but that's normal in hotels, & what can you expect it's free anyhow. Over all a pleasant overnight stay & I would go back again ...

« Great hotel with parking »

We recently stayed here the night before we flew from Manchester airport. We also parked our car here for 2 weeks. The reception was lovely and a very pleasant and helpful lady on duty. She booked us a taxi for the airport upon request. Our room was spacious, extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. We did not have breakfast due to an early flight so can't comment on this. However we did have a meal in the restaurant and it was superb. Would definitely return.

    « Better Than Most »

If you are going to stay anywhere near this hotel and you want decent internet and a fair price choose here. I realize this is not a big comforting endorsement, when the choices are worn out cookie cutter premier inn hotels with the half a MB of free internet data and daily fee of 5 L to update to 5 MB. The BW Pinewood is a great find, now I would personally prefer the Raddison with its larger rooms, air conditioning and fast Internet. The BW is a safe bet, I would consider this place again for an extended stay. My coworker tried the breakfast and could not handle it, which is why I never tried, check it out before you consider prepaying for it. BTW Internet in the room was tempermentle but when it worked you get 35 MB at no cost.

    « Fantastic!! »

We had a late return flight back from our holiday so decided to book this hotel as it was pretty close to the airport and on the way home. Even tho it was early hours of the morning the gentleman on reception was jovial and very polite and had a couldn't do enough attitude. He explained everything clearly and precisely and left us in no doubt about where everything was and the facilities available to us. The room itself was super with everything we needed accessible and simple to use. The tea, coffee and biscuits were a welcome sight. The bed was was extremely comfortable and we had an excellent nights sleep. The breakfast room was easily found and we were seated immediately and offered tea/coffee and toast which arrived within minutes. The breakfast itself was buffet style although you could order speciality items if required (Kippers and the like) There was an excellent array of cereals, fruits, yoghurts and pastries. The quality of the cooked items was exceptional everything was hot and very tasty. Our whole experience of this hotel was fantastic, we will definitely stay again and highly recommend it. This is a four star hotel with a five star quality and attitude.

    « Superb »

We stayed overnight prior to flying from Manchester airport. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean with good bedding and soft fluffy towels. It has a very welcoming feel to the lobby when entering the hotel. Our meal at the restaurant was fabulous, the slow cooked belly pork is a triumph to the very creative and competent chef. I would stay here again even if I wasn't going to the airport.

    « Commercial style hotel »

Adequate for what it is. A bit soul-less. Handy to have a Tesco store five minutes away. Our room was over he kitchen/restaurant and far too hot. Housekeeping quickly provided a fan. No issue from them.. They must know the small window which only opens a couple of inches is in adequate. Also, the hotel information indicates use of a gym and sauna. This is a bit of a con. Yes you do get to use these facilities but they are away from the hotel which requires a short drive.

« Very good hotel for the money »

We had booked a flight from Mancester airport that would leave very early in the morning, we normally fly from Mancester and stay over the night before. We would normally book Premier inn as its close to the Airport and we have stayed there before but they were asking £90 for one night I felt this was very expensive for a Premier Inn A quick search on Booking.com bought up this hotel at only £57 I thought there had to be a catch a best western at only £57 surely not!! I booked the hotel expecting a sort of 70's bed and breakfast but was very surprised by how nice this hotel is! We arrived very late at 11.45pm the man of reception was friendly and checked us in but I did struggle to understand him as he spoke quite broken English. We had booked a twin room as this was on the £57 deal and due to our late arrival and early departure we would only spend 4 hours in bed any way! The room was a good size and looked clean and modern. The bathroom did look abit tired in areas but every thing worked and it was very clean. A few days before we arrived I realised I hadn't booked car parking for the airport looking on the airport website showed parking was limited and prices sky high £100 to park in the multi storey for 7 days I called the hotel who said they offered parking and had a separate car park onsite for long stay parking, they were a lot cheaper at only £40 for the week and included free taxis transfers to and from the airport I thought this was excellent value for money. On a site note both taxi drivers were very rude and didn't help with loading or unloading of our cases. We will defiantly look to stay at this hotel again next time we fly from Manchester

« Nice hotel slightly let down by service (and very early binmen!) »

I stayed at the Pinewood for 2 nights whist attending a meeting in the local area. In advance of my visit I emailed to say I would be arriving late and included my Best Western rewards details which I asked to be associated with my booking. On arrival at around 8:30pm I was told by the receptionist that my booking was Room Only and asked if I wanted to pay for breakfast. I told her I was sure it was booked on a B&B basis and even showed her the confirmation email but she insisted breakfast was not included. I was charged £20. I emailed my company to confirm the details of the reservation and the following day it was confirmed I was booked in on a B&B basis and they had contacted the hotel who would be refunding the amount charged to my card. Upon check-out there was ample opportunity for the same receptionist to apologise for the mistake but she took the opportunity to blame the booking for not being clear. The same also happened to another of my colleagues also staying at the hotel I wasn't welcomed as a BW Rewards Diamond member and didn't receive any of the advertised benefits of the loyalty programme. Whilst raising this might seem a bit petty in the grand scheme of things, Best Western constantly promote the virtues of being a member of their loyalty club - so the 'over promise and under deliver' makes it worse. The glass recycling bins (all 5 or 6 of them) were emptied at 6:15am on Thursday morning and even the heaviest of sleepers couldn't not be disturbed! The above niggles aside, the Pinewood was modern and clean, my room was small but had everything I need including a very comfortable bed. I ate in the hotel bar one evening and the food was tasty although the portions were rather small for the price (see other reviews for recommendations of places to eat locally - there's quite a bit of choice within walking distance). Breakfast had a good selection of hot & cold buffet and the dining room has lovely views over the garden. Despite the negatives above, I would give the Pinewood another go, as I was probably just unfortunate in my encounters with some staff.

« One night stay - does the job »

Stopped in the Hotel for one night due to early flight the next morning from Manchester Airport, The room was better than expected. Large room with lots of space. Clean, tidy and cheap to book. Stayed in a family room, would love to have stopped for a longer period. Very happy with this hotel !!

« Very nice hotel but let down by cold reception ! »

A really nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Have stayed there several times. On last visit the breakfast service was non existent but my main complaint was the cold unwelcoming and unhelpful attitude of certain receptionists - not all I hasten to add as one of them was the extreme opposite.

    « What a Great stay »

We just had a great stay at this super hotel where the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is well served and cooked to perfection. Wonderful selection of breakfast items. Our room was extremely hot (probably due to being on the top floor with a flat roof on the hottest days of the year) Would highly recommend this hotel with its lovely gardens to enjoy. Overall this was a good choice. Thanks to all staff.

    « Super stopover »

We stayed here on Thursday 8th September before flying from Manchester. From entering the hotels very smart interior to the welcoming smile from the receptionist the hotel has a really good look about it.The room was nice and comfortable and we ate in the restaurant at evening and the food was excellent (I had the pollock )delicious and presented really well. The location was great for the airport taking only 9 minutes in the morning with a punctual taxi they had ordered for us.I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent accomodation and we ourselves will certainly use this again.

« Would have been excellent if we had different room 2nd night. »

We stayed here prior to flying from Manchester. We're given a great room very big with bunks as well as kingside bed. Bath and walking shower seperate. Good tea tray. Hairdryer, safe, iron, fan. - great. Can't comment on restaurant as didn't use it. We're room only. See reviews on Dilshad (indian) and Helles (greek) both easy walking distance and great food. We paid extra £40 for park and fly included private taxi to / from airport. (Good value as a taxi one way to airport is £10) On our return from holiday we booked to stay again we arrived at 8.30 am and had been told in advance we could check in at 10am. Room was ready for 10.15 which was great as regular check in not till 2pm. Many thanks for that. Only problem with room (306) was the heat !!!!! Even with fan going and window open it was stifling hot day and night. With only double bed which after the super king in Mexico felt tiny !!! No bath in this room but very large shower and all other facilities. This room did have a lovely garden view.

« Overnight stay before travelling from Manchester Airport »

Excellent overnight stay and delicious meal in the restaurant. We didn't require breakfast as we had an early start to the airport. We were met at the door and helped with all our luggage including golf bag. Easy check in by friendly staff. All luggage taken to our very comfortable room. We intended eating out but the restaurant menu looked varied and appealing. Our meal was truly delicious. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly use it in the future for our overnight stays when we need to travel from Manchester Airport. It's only a very short journey to airport by taxi. All organised by the friendly staff on reception.

    « Good impressions »

Spent one night there last week on a business trip and was very impressed. 16 of us were booked in for dinner and the food came out hot and was very nice, apologies to anyone else in the restaurant as some of the conversation on our table tended to get a bit loud. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was also very good and given that it is close to where we normally have our meetings, we intend to use the hotel as a base again. Downside was the temperature in my room and it was a very warm night. Other than that, very nice hotel.

« Pleasant night near Manchester airport »

I arrived at about 1 am, after an exhausting flight. The receptionist was nice and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable (room 115, 2 single beds). My room amenities included full body mirror and standard complementary tray with cookies and instant coffee and tea. Both were very useful to me. I connected easily to the Wi-Fi, which supplied very satisfying surfing experience There is no airplanes noise from the airport, but I did have some usual noise from the corridor and adjacent rooms. I took a taxi from Manchester airport and paid 23 pound. I am not sure if it is the usual fee.

« Great Place for Short Relaxing Break »

Stayed here for a few days to relax. Nice welcome, easy check-in, all staff were friendly and helpful, beautiful well cared for gardens to sit in (weather permitting) and nicely decorated. Room with free WiFi, tea/coffee making facilities + biscuits, TV with many channels, clean, comfortable bed, nice bath & shower with plenty hot water and lovely towels. Asked if possible to stay an extra night and was given a good price. Various events held whilst I was staying there and I even received an apology if the noise from a wedding disturbed me (but it hadn't). Food/drinks reasonable prices. . Bus stops very close to hotel in both directions towards Manchester and Macclesfield. Also walking distance (approx 10 mins) to train station. Small variety of shops, take-aways, restaurants and supermarkets just a few minutes walk from hotel. Not far from the airport, they don't have a shuttle to the airport but can arrange a taxi for you, the cost of a taxi is £10 Would recommend and definitely stay again when in the area and need a place to relax.

Attended a wedding reception at the Pinewood in August 2016. The dining room was decorated beautifully. The staff were lovely and we were looked after. The meal was okay but it could have been better. One guest didn't get the vegetarian that had been ordered. The over night stay was alright. The breakfast was really nice.

    « our sons wedding »

i would just like to say how absolutely fabulous our son Martin and his bride Charlotte's wedding day went at the pinewood hotel. Everybody who came have all said what a great venue this hotel is. the rooms were well kept and very clean with big lovely comfy beds. The food and drinks were excellent as were all the staff led by the main man John Scott who was brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Good stopover »

The pinewood is a good hotel for a short stopover break but not a longer holiday . The hotel is clean and well-appointed rooms are good not great but the staff and bar / restaurant areas are lovely . The Hote is on a busy road but has nice grounds to chill out in (if a bit noisy). Breakfast was great buffet style with a good choice . We didn't eat in the restaurant but walked down the road where there is a lovely Italian restaurant which was fabulous .

« Hard to find, poor customer service »

It took us a couple of hours to find this hotel, which was advertised on-line as being in the vicinity of Manchester International Airport. It is definitely "off the beaten path." On check in, we were asked if we would like to upgrade to an executive king suite for an additional charge. We prefer king-sized beds, being tall people, so we said yes, and paid the extra. We were shocked to find what, in the U.S., would be a double or queen bed (not sure which--definitely not a king bed). Moreover, the clerk would not refund the money, despite having (probably unintentionally?) misled us. On the positive side, it was very clean, and the bed was on the new side of the spectrum. It is in walking distance of some local restaurants, which was nice.

    « Shocking Customer Service »

Shocking customer service booked over four weeks ago just checked in to be told double booked and that the person who has checked in to our room booked one week ago, totally ruined my bank holiday weekend should be here for two nights for relaxing break, no manager available have to wait until the morning, our payment was taken four weeks ago and confirmation sent of room yet none of this seems to matter, disgusting service

    « Great short stay »

We stayed for just the night, arriving after 7.30. Staff were very welcoming and happy to book us in for dinner at 8pm. The room was spacious and cool , as they had opened the window, unlike many stuffy rooms we've experienced before. The dinner was expensive but worth it, really lovely and interesting. The printed menus, with two separate menus didn't reflect the sophistication of the cooking, and having the wine list upside own at the back didn't add to the experience. Breakfast was again excellent. We are looking forward to our next visit.

    « No complaints. »

Not the typical hotel for a family holiday as it's clearly orientated towards the business market. Nonetheless it was fine for our purposes - clean, recently refurbished, decent bed and shower plus a hearty breakfast.

« The best this area has to offer »

Working away from home for long periods can be tedious and monotonous but having stayed at the Pinewood hotel for four to five months has made it all the better. This hotel is extremely well run and managed which is a great credit to John and all his staff. Every single night I have stayed here has been a pleasure. There are a good number of other long term repeat clients staying at this hotel and that in itself is testament to the quality of the hotel and its staff. The hotel is well appointed with nice communal areas, lovely outdoor spaces, easy parking, relaxing lounge bar and restaurant and welcoming reception area. I have stayed in a number of room types on all the floors and each and every room was more than adequate even for extended stays of five or more consecutive nights. The beds where always very comfortable and the bathrooms perfectly adequate. The standard of housekeeping is excellent. On nearly 100 nigh stays at this hotel the room was cleaned fully and all items replenished every single time. I never once had to ask for anything. How often can you say that about other hotels! The staff here are absolutely brilliant. I have witnessed the hotel at full stretch and all the staff always seem calm, friendly and professional no matter what the situation. The check in process is streamlined and always met with a smile and friendly hello. The restaurant serves decent food nicely presented and I never had to wait for my food even when the hotel was at full stretch. I dined here on nearly every single night I stayed and never had a reason to complain. The prices are about average for the area so shouldn't break the bank. Breakfast is a buffet affair with a good selection of items to suit most diets and as always there is a friendly welcome from the staff. Obviously having stayed at the hotel for about 100 nights I am well placed to observe the day to day running of this place and genuinely can't find a single fault or cause for complaint and that has to be a great credit to the manager and his staff. I would like to extend a very special thanks to Bobby and Alan behind the bar who work hard but always have a friendly and welcoming smile and are obviously very efficient. For me there is one stand out member of staff who has always impressed me greatly and she has always made time to help me with local knowledge, improve my language skills and just generally cheerful, polite, efficient, courteous and friendly so a very big extra thanks to Monica. Whilst I have named certain members of staff here I think all the staff deserve full credit for the way this hotel feels and runs. They are the heartbeat of the place and the manager should feel justifiably proud. Whenever I am back in this area this will be the only hotel I will call at. I have tried all the others and believe me this one is miles better than any of them.

    « Excellent hotel »

I have stayed at The Pinewood 3 times now and have found the staff, facilities and hotel in general to be of a very high standard. This stay was the first time I ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. I will certainly book again!

Great Hotel with friendly and efficient hard working staff. Our room was a Superior type on the first floor and we didn't even hear a door bang in the hallway, very peaceful. Very large room with Sofa Area which if I'd more time I would have used!

« Stay, Park and Fly »

We stayed here the night before our early morning flight from Manchester Airport. The package was room, parking and private taxi transfers to and from the airport. Lovelly hotel that has just been referbished. There was a wedding reception the night we stayed which didn't encroach as much as you would think. The room was large with a king sized bed and brilliant bathroom. I can't comment on the food as we ate at a local Indian Restaurant ( Dilshad - fantastic! ). Our taxi was booked for 3.45 am and arrived 10 minutes early. On returning after our holiday we rang the taxi company and our taxi arrived about 15 minutes later to take us back to the hotel for our car. 1 night stay, transfers and 10 days parking was £94. Bargain! Will deffinately stay again if we fly from Manchester.

« Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds »

This hotel is a lovely place to stay. All the rooms have their own theme....i would definitely recommend asking for a room with a view of the grounds as they are very well maintained. We stayed here as a family while visiting some friends in the surrounding area and outer manchester. For the price i don't think you'll find better!!

    « Not a great start »

We stayed at this hotel 21st July 2016 before our morning flight from Manchester, our room included parking and transfers. On arrival at the hotel at 8pm we found that there was no parking spaces at the hotel, after an hour drive with a small child this was not a great start to our holidays. We abandoned the car to enquire at reception what we should do about parking and we were told that as there was a couple of conferences on that night there may be car parking spaces later that night or in the morning. At this point we mentioned that surely they must know they have guests arriving that have park and fly and could they not have reserved spaces for these guests, the receptionist just said "what exactly do you expect me to do about it?" We gave up at this point and just left the car parked at the main entrance on yellow lines and checked in, the room itself was nice and clean but there are a few steps in the corridors which when you have luggage is not ideal but we managed. The walls of the room seemed very thin and it did not help that the room next door felt the need to watch the TV at full blast until midnight. Private transfer was on time but it was just a local taxi which on reflection we probably could have stayed in a premier inn and booked our own transfer. Not a great start to the holiday and will not use this hotel again!!!!!

« Great staff and hospitality »

We stayed again at this hotel before going on a special trip for our Ruby Wedding. Staff we have already met were very welcoming and this was a good feeling. We had a very big room with fruit strawberries and chocolate sauce as an added extra. We spent the night here and had a beautiful meal as usual. On returning to the UK from our exotic holiday, we had the same room. fabulous room but unusually for UK ,the weather was exceptionally warmer than we had in Mauritius. The room very warm and although a fan had been put in ,the hotel obliged with another fan. Staff as usual were great and the manager, checked to see if everything was OK. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

« Excellent Hotel and close to e airport »

This hotel , its facilities and mainly it's superb staff make it a welcoming and restful place to stay. We used it last night as a stop of on our journey from France to N Wales and can only say" this is the first of many stays in the future " Excellent room, Great facilities, and a beautiful breakfast served by fabulous staff! From the Night Porter who checked us in and served us our night caps to the Breakfast Waitress and receptionist, all staff were friendly and courteous. We will be back.

« Caught in the middle! »

At the first glimpse it looks like a very nice hotel on the outskirts of Manchester close to the Airport. What makes it worse are the details. I paid £16 extra for exec double room on top of standard twin room charge. I was hoping to make a pillow fortress in the middle of the bed and have a good sleep before busy day at work. What I didn't realise is that double room in this hotel = two beds put together with two mattresses. So I ended up caught between mattresses and had to sleep at the side making it a single bed. When I asked receptionist about that she said there are no true double rooms in the hotel. To sum it up , decent hotel brought down by beds and very narrow bathtub that will leave you with no choice but to hug with shower curtain while showering. Also no A/C.

« Best Western Plus Deadwood »

I stayed at this hotel for one night. The staff were friendly and the bar area downstairs was nice. However, the room itself was old and cramped. There was an old school shower and the bathroom mirror was at waist height so I couldn't see my face in it. The road outside was very noisy and being next to the airport the planes were very loud. When it rained the noise from the roof was comparable to being in a caravan. The dinner menu was clearly aimed at people with a business allowance, overpriced basic food. I ordered steak and chips which had lots of things added to it, would have been better left alone. This with a drink cost £27 which really isn't worth it. Breakfast was a disorganised buffet. Plates and tongs crazily hot. Food quality not great. Also took 20 minutes to get a cup of tea. My colleague paid extra for the Executive Double room, only to find out the double room is a twin room in disguise, with the beds shoved together. This apparently was very uncomfortable. When he mentioned it to the staff they said all of their "double" rooms are like this. I think Best Western need to think about what "double" actually means! Overall it is fine to stay there if it was <£50 a night, but certainly isn't worth any more than that and I won't be going back.

Had two night here when visiting Manchester. Great not to be living in the city. Handforth is a lovely village. My room was great and the hotel has beautiful gardens which I enjoyed. In fact very difficult to drag yourself away from the hotel gardens on a sunny day..nice sun terrace. Bar and restaurant great and food good. But best of all the staff.. Every member of the team from the barman, restaurant staff, management and housekeeping all lovely..made you feel really valued as a customer and genuinely friendly. Great team....oh..and did I mention the food!

« Brilliant: which is why I come back time and again »

I have stayed here as a visitor from Australia, on around a dozen occasions, both as a couple and also as a lone traveller. The food is excellent, the rooms very clean and comfortable and the staff are incredibly helpful. Indeed, every single member of staff I have ever met has been pleasantness personified. They are so helpful, courteous and professional. Here for a couple of nights on this trip in July, 2016 and already looking forward to the next one.

    « Another good stay! »

We stayed here for a overnight stop before travelling to Manchester Airport, this is the third time we have stayed here for this reason. Hotel has gone through a refurbishment since our last stay and has improved the reception and bar area. We were able to check in slightly before the set time - our room was on the 1st floor and was really nice. We didn't eat in the hotel but went to the waggon and horses pub which is a short walk away. We had an undisturbed nights sleep which was perfect for our 3am alarm. It took us approx 10 mins to drive to jet park plus where we left our car for our holiday. Another good stay and we will be back again if flying from Manchester airport!

« Not able to sleep due to a wedding party »

Good Points: We chose this hotel to be close to Manchester airport, it is close, and it was an easy drive to the airport at 3am. Nice grounds. Nice Restaurant Pleasant staff. Bad Points: We had booked a twin room for our children and a double for ourselves. The children's room they allocated for us was two floors away from ours at the other end of the hotel. This would not have been acceptable if our children had been any younger, as it was it made it hard to check everyone was up in time to leave.. On arrival we had explained we would be leaving at 3:30 am, and at that time it was suggested that we book a table at the restaurant early to avoid a wedding party. At this stage they might have told us we would not get any sleep or they probably could have asked if we wanted to move to a different room in a quieter part of the hotel - but no they gave us a room over the dance hall. We did not realise this until it was too late to ask to move room. As a result we were kept awake by music and the DJ shouting until past 1 am. On leaving we did not have time to discuss the noise, but the porter said he was surprised we had not been warned in advance by email or phone. Best Western did have all our details and had ample time to warn us. (We had booked by phone with Best Western - not direct with the hotel.) We normally chose Premier Inn and have never had a problem like this.

« IT JUST GETS BETTER!! [The Best Western Tardis] »

We stayed for our fifth time in the past few years. We were really impressed with the new developments and general enhancements since our last visit in November 2015. As you enter the hotel, the quality is apparent, with welcoming reception and efficient bar staff. The bar area has good seating for drinks and food. The garden is accessible from the bar with exceptional patio seating and plenty of lawn to view and admire. Viewed from the main road the hotel looks quite small, but as you park up,either at the front reception area or the extensive parking area around the hotel and garden, you realise its extent. There are no parking problems and plenty of open garden area to enjoy. The bedroom was of a good size including a desk for working at and plenty of storage for clothing and luggage. The bathroom was well equipped. A safe was available, but be careful to follow the instructions and press the red re-set button before doing anything else! Don't worry though, as the staff are amazingly helpful in case you lock all your valuables away by accident! The restaurant was really excellent. There was a very good menu choice with efficient and helpful service. The food was of good quality and freshly prepared. Nothing was too much for the staff to make the experience very memorable. The IT billing system to room is seamless, as it follows you from bar to restaurant and then back to bar, without fuss or error. I have to congratulate the hotel on its new lift, undoubtedly added at great expense since our last stay in November 2015. Large and smooth and non-claustrophobic. It was well worth the investment. We will return to this excellent hotel before too long.

    « Excellent Staff »

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights, recently. The first room we were offered seemed very noisy because it was on at the front of the building on the main road, we asked if there was a quieter room and were offered one but told it was a very hot room with only one small is window. We decided to stay in the first room, the first morning we were woken early by the heavy traffic, the second by a delivery lorry directly below our window and the third by some very drunken, foul mouthed revellers from the wedding held on the Saturday - not great from a sleep point of view!! But 95% of the staff were so pleasant, friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were very good, as was the restaurant, that overall our stay was very enjoyable. I would suggest anyone booking asks if they can have one of the recentlyrefurbished rooms which would be much quieter and presumably very up to the minute decor.

« Brief stop over due to late flight arrival »

I booked this hotel as my flight was arriving in the middle of the night and I wanted some sleep before continuing my journey. The hotel was a fraction of the cost of the airport hotels, and only takes about 15 mins to get to from the airport. WARNING: do NOT use the black cabs at the airport to travel to the hotel. Their fares are astronomical. Instead use the private hire cabs at the airport - they are less than half price of the black cabs. I didn't see much of the hotel during my brief time there, but check in and check out was friendly and efficient. The layout was slightly confusing. I had to take the lift up to the 3rd floor to go down some steps to the 4th floor then go down some stairs to my room. My room was small, but comfortable. It had no view apart from the concrete of another block, but I wasn't there long enough to let that bother me. I slept well. SUMMARY A useful hotel for airport travellers, at a fraction of the cost of airport hotels. I would use it again, and hopefully have time to enjoy more of it next time.

    « Surprisingly, satisfyingly good. »

We have not been to this hotel in years and quite honestly did not expect too much, but it was all that was available at the last minute. What a fabulous surprise to find it so smart, attractive, with great ambience and an air of superb professionalism. This was demonstrated with the care and attention to our needs. Breakfast was great and well worth the slightly extra cost.

Very happy with the single room which was a good size. The comfortable bed ensured a very good night's sleep as did the fact that it was very quiet. Both the evening meal in the lounge and the breakfast were good too.

    « Superb Stay! »

Stayed with my mum for one night after visiting the Tatton Park flower show. From start to finish, our stay was superb. Room lovely, spotlessly clean but a little hot. On request a fan appeared which saved the day! We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious, good quality, fresh ingredients and lovely Merlot wine. Very quiet during the night and we had a great sleep in the very comfy beds. Breakfast was definitely one of the best we have had, again quality of food was fantastic. Sadly, my mum had a fall, however, out of this came the realisation on just how good the staff are there. Special thanks to Staci who was an absolute star, however the manager John really is superb. You can tell that he has a really good team behind him. We will definitely return, gorgeous hotel.

    « try the gym »

This hotel was clearly refurbished to a high standard a few years ago and retains lots of attractive features. Our bedroom had a large bed - probably larger than king size, bath/shower room, iron and board TV and free WiFi. there was even a computer downstairs for anyone to use. It was easy to find and the breakfast was as good as we have had anywhere. They also offer free entry to Totalfitness gym which is 5 mins drive away. This is the best gym I have been to; with 9 pools, tropical and artic showers, steam room, sauna, hot tub you could swim in, 2 floors of gym equipment including a ladies gym and an indoor running track. Don't forget a towel and padlock for the locker.

« Our favourite stop over when flying from Manchester »

This hotel is perfectly situated to travel from Manchester airport. It is set in attractive well kept gardens. We have now stopped here three times. It is such a well run hotel. The staff are so friendly and polite. They attend to any requests in an efficient professional manner. Beds are very comfortable and rooms well equipped. The transfer to and from the airport is excellent. The hotel uses a local private taxi firm with polite drivers with clean and well maintained vehicles. John Scott the hotel manager is always in attendance making sure the hotel runs smoothly. He has a good relationship with the staff. Creating a good work environment. The hotel experience is far superior to the sometimes faceless larger chains. We find it very good value for money.

« better value than the airport hotels »

Stayed Thursday 14th July, we have always stayed at one of the hotels on site at Manchester airport, for some reason their pricing has increased to a level where I looked a little further out from the airport. We decided to try the Pinewood.. we were not disappointed. we booked an executive room, the room was modern, nice décor. flat TV on the wall, very comfortable bed.. excellent bath room. We didn't have anything to eat, because we were on a 6.20 am flight. Travel time to the airport at 4.30/4.45 am was around 8-9 mins. We will be using again.. great hotel, great pricing.

Had a lovely stay here on our return from holiday. Room was clean well furnished and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing, again the staff were lovely especially Ric who could not do enough. When we were leaving in the morning it was raining and a member of staff found a brolly and made sure we did not get wet on way to taxi, lovely man. So overall lovely experience and we would highly recommend this hotel.

« Lovely hotel but staff not very helpful. »

My husband and I stayed here after a concert in Manchester while the hotel itself was very welcoming we found the opposite with the member of staff who greeted us on arrival. Ruth was very off hand with myself and other members of staff behind the desk. It was as though everything was too much trouble particularly when asked about wi-fi in the room she proceeded to point at the key fob and told us to read the instructions. I know it's a busy place but I feel manners cost nothing. As I stated earlier the hotel is lovely just a shame our experience was spoilt by a rude member of staff.

    « Highly recommended! »

I've stayed here several times on business since the refurb, and is now my preferred hotel in this area. The staff are friendly and efficient, ample parking inc overflow, grounds been redone & great for a drink outside when it's warm enough. Food in the bar & restaurant is of good quality with plenty choice, and chef is always up for requests. Good wifi which is free & plenty tv channels. I've stayed in both the refirb'd rooms which are much better than the older ones, so suggest you ask what's available. I've never been disturbed by noise, although only there mid weeks, am sure the reception and porters would help, as I've always found them very professional. Would highly recommend!

    « As promised I tried again »

Since my last review I said I would give this hotel another try. Well I have stayed in this hotel every month since in various room with the last two visits being in the executive room. Yes the room was very spacious and pleasant on the eye with a very big bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower. However the room get food smells from somewhere (kitchen maybe below the room) along with the beats of music, which could be drowned out with the TV. For me I just don't and haven't felt a sense of friendliness or welcoming to this hotel compared to all the other hotels I have stayed in.

« Best Western near Manchester at Wilmslow is very good »

We stayed here after a journey from around the other side of the world. The hotel reception staff were very understanding and helpful and the room quiet and comfortable to catch up on some serious lack of sleep. That evening we took a lovely short walk through the hotel gardens to the village where we bought dinner (at a take away) and some other food from Tesco. Also checked out the suburban train timetable for the trip into Manchester Piccadilly the next day for our forward travel to Cumbria. The breakfast was extensive and fresh. The only thing I would mention negative was a wedding party using the main rooms that evening and some of the guests were still laughing, crying (and possibly arguing) late into the night in the Carpark adjacent to the rooms...hardly the fault of management...more likely just tired and emotional people.

« Amazing value vs quality »

I booked this hotel a couple of weeks before via booking and it was only 55 pounds. I was expecting a budget hotel being so close to the airport. Room was around four star level with nice taste, bathroom fine although one small point is I didn't like shower as being over 6ft tall it reached my shoulders. I ate diner in restaurant night before, food was excellent a la cart, prices in restaurant average. I like this hotel as it's very high quality for the price. Parking was an issue though as they had a conference as well but it is a large car park. Staff were all professional. Would recommend.

Used the Best Western the night before early flight from Manchester Airport, very easy to book, got a fantastic deal which included breakfast for 2, parking for the duration of our holiday AND private taxi to and from Terminal 3 ( about 8 minutes drive ) ! Receptionist was extremely friendly and efficient, explaining everything clearly, and, we were given a free room upgrade. 6 foot bed was extremely comfortable, we got a great nights sleep, large bath, powerful shower, what an excellent start to our holiday, would most definitely use again, even without the upgrade, although I wouldn't say no ! As we were flying out fairly early the breakfast was continental style up until 7.00am, we would have taken the full breakfast had it been available to us, and I am sure that would have been excellent, maybe next time ! Once again highly recomended and we will definitely be back

This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel the night before I was flying out of Manchester. The location is a quiet residential area that is not congested. The rooms are well appointed and very clean, with modern up to date fittings. The staff was particularly helpful and friendly, really made me feel welcome. Located only a few miles from the Rental Car Return Center at Manchester airport, and you can get there on back roads avoiding the motorway. I'll definitely stay here again if I need something close to the airport.

First visit to this hotel and had a wonderful one night stay.Arrived in the evening when there was a big wedding being held. The receptionist was very pleasant, providing a warm welcome and explained about the wedding. With the wedding in full swing we were allocated one of the new bedrooms on the Third floor. The noise was minimal and the standard of the room was excellent.Very clean, well laid out and with a very comfortable bed.Next morning down for breakfast shown to our table immediately, order taken for Tea/Coffee and toast, served quickly and advised to proceed to the servery for the full breakfast. Offer of extra tea and toast towards the end of our meal. No faults found in the dining room. We booked direct with the hotel and it worked out cheaper instead of using Internet websites.

We really enjoyed our short stay.

We stayed here when going to a wedding at Alderley Hall. It was within 10 mins of the venue and ticked every box. Plenty of parking, good clean comfortable rooms which were well decorated and good showers, great breakfast with loads of choice and nice coffee. Lifts were a bit annoyingly busy at breakfast and stairs sent you round the whole hotel (we were on the third floor). Would definitely return if we needed to again!

We found all the staff at the hotel to be very friendly, welcoming and pleasant. There is plenty of free car parking. The reception area, bar & restaurant are stylishly decorated. The hotel does cater for wedding parties at the weekend. A new extension has added additional bedrooms to the hotel, these are nicely decorated, well appointed with wall mounted flat screen TV, tea & coffee facilities, free safe, iron & ironing board, adequate hanging space, comfortable beds, free wifi however they are rather compact. So not a huge amount of room if you have large suitcases. We had booked a standard double, this did overlook the car park to the rear of the hotel. Suprisingly there is no air conditioning, room heating was by means of an electric radiator, fans were available from reception. The shower room has a walk in double shower, shaver point & magnifying mirror, an electric heated towel rail, the large anti mist mirror was a bonus and toiletries are provided, but again this room was also on the small side, in fact there is no where for housekeeping staff to place any towels, these are left on your bed when you arrive. The buffet breakfast was very good offering an a reasonable choice of juices, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt to start. The hot selection was kept well stocked with bacon, sausage, both fried & scrambled, beans, saute potatoes, mushrooms. In addition to this they also provide additional items on a cooked to order basis for example porridge at no extra charge. Cold meat & cheese was also available. In addition there was a selection of breads (including gluten free bread) & pastries. Tea & coffee are brought to your table as is toast. Service at breakfast was efficient & friendly. If breakfast is not included in your room rate the charge for a full buffet breakfast was £14.95pp or you could have continental for £7.50pp. Whilst the new rooms are compact we found the hotel to offer excellent value especially if you include breakfast within your room rate.

« We stayed here wedding venue »

We stayed here just for the one night as we were at a wedding at another hotel not far but they could not accommodate us as that hotel so we booked in to the pinewood .really clean lovely rooms and the friendly staff and very good food would recommend it and we would not hesitate to book it again.

« Easy commute to Manchester »

Stayed here for a night with two of my friends and my boyfriend, we had two separate rooms mine was a double bed room, the bed was massive and it was extremely comfy, my friends had two single beds which they found comfy aswell. Both rooms were clean and well kept. The bathrooms were also nice, in particular the showers were great, lovely amount of water pressure and heat, loved the shower. We stayed in Handforth as we were going to see The Stone Roses in Manchester and Handforth was easy to commute to via train. The hotel was about a 10/15 minute walk from the train station and it was a straight road walk. The only negative thing about the stay, not the hotel, the area, as lovely as it was it wasn't very good for takeaway or any sort of food late at night. Being from Glasgow and having everywhere open at all hours of the day and night we assumed/hoped that Handforth would be likewise. Basically if you want food late at night either get it in Manchester before you commute home or go out to eat earlier. We also requested a later check out before we stayed which was perfectly fine. All the staff were great and i would go again if i was in the area and looking for a good price for a good hotel.

    « Stay and fly »

We stayed here overnight before our flight and left the car parked in the hotel. The price was brilliant and very cheap compared to similar packages. The hotel is lovely and very clean and modern the staff were friendly, although the gym isn't located on site you are able to use one about a 5 minute drive away that is brilliant and more than makes up for it not being on site. A taxi service collects you for you flight to and from the airport with is arranged and paid for by the hotel when you check in. Overall a wonderful and very convenient hotel and I will definitely be staying again in the future

« Delightful Home from home »

Staying each week at the hotel for the last 2 years, together with the recent upgrading of the rooms means that the Pinewood feels a delightful home from home. Lovely welcoming staff, luxury bedrooms and the opportunity of an upgrade as a Diamond customer. Views of the gardens are particularly welcome to remind me of home (a country village in North Yorkshire) and the hotel substantially helps to make working away from home each week more beareable. The hotel provides easy access to major towns in the area (great for work).

« Perfect from start to finish »

I had a newly renovated room on the 3rd floor, which was very nice and comfortable, with a very upmarket feel & a big comfy bed. The public areas downstairs were excellent, spotlessly clean and very well designed. I ordered room service on the two evenings, the food was quick to arrive and excellent, with a very good range of in room dining. Staff were excellent, from the arrival at reception, to the departure. Would I stay again? Yes absolutely

    « Very pleasant stay »

Lovely rooms. Professional staff. Hotel is clean. The food is good but not a great choice and portions are small. Buffet breakfast very good standard - smoothies and yogurt with strawberries and grated dark chocolate on top delicious. I enjoyed my stay here and would go back.

    « Customer servive »

Used some best Western hotels several times and this will be the last. It has to do with the tolerance and flexibility. For 68£ the hotel has lost me as a customer. My busines trip was cancelled one day and a half after my booking and although the cancellation of the room was done inmediaetly - and with one week in advanced to the arrival - they decided to charge me the room at my credit card. Bad business for your company!

« Quiet but convenient to airport »

This is a modern hotel that fits well into the surrounding residential area. Thus it was surprisingly quiet for a hotel near a large airport. There are restaurants within walking distance, but we enjoyed a dinner out in the landscaped garden adjacent to the hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient. They were especially helpful in printing our boarding passes. It is a short drive to the Manchester airport/rental car return or a shuttle can be arranged.

    « Mixed Bag »

Staff were very polite and helpful. Bed was really comfy and good room size. There was however a problem with moths in my room (4 found on first night) and the room was very warm despite having all windows open and use of a fan. Breakfast was perfect but evening meals were a big let down and overpriced for quality received.

« Great, with one exception - rooms with little ventilation making sleep IMPOSSIBLE. »

The good: Location 8/10 - Minor aircraft noise, otherwise quiet, 5 minute walk to town centre for local shops and takeaways, etc... Shower 9/10 - could be a bit higher, but great pressure and temperature. Room 9/10 - Good size, storage, and hanging space with tea, coffee, biscuits. Bed 8/10 - Good, but needs more pillows. Wifi 9/10 - Good speed, free, easy to connect. The bad: The window (singular) only opens 1 inch (see photo) so even in early summer (June'16) sleep was impossible due to the temperature. A fan was supplied on request, but an industrial one, making so much noise you'd can hear the TV above it - and all it's doing is blowing the hot air around. In the winter probably a very nice hotel, in the summer, AVOID

    « Excellent Hotel »

We stayed at this hotel for one night as part of a "park & fly" package and then stayed for 3 nights upon our return to attend a family wedding taking place at the hotel. The hotel itself has been recently renovated and the rooms and public areas have been decorated and furnished to a very high standard indeed. Really comfy bed, tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms, high quality bathroom minis, and an extremely powerful shower (always welcome), flat screen TV (though I think I am one of the few who never watch TV in a bedroom so cannot comment on it) and plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. Breakfast was superb and our park & fly was so simple to arrange at the reception desk upon our initial check-in. The wedding we attended was so lovely and all the attention to detail was perfect. The food was delicious and the glorious gardens made for some delightful wedding photos (and, of course the sun helped there too!). All the fantastic staff are a true credit to this wonderful hotel. John and his amazing team are always on hand with a smile and a cheery word and nothing is too much trouble....if you need something, want to ask something, whatever, just ask, they are only too happy to help. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

« Excellent location for Manchester Airport »

Hotel undergoing renovation however rooms were clean, nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable, staff are friendly and excellent value for money. The hotel was easy to find off the A34, good location for the airport, Manchester and Trafford Centre

« Return visit to The Pinewood »

We have returned to The Pinewood in Handforth. As on our previous visits the hotel maintains its excellent high standards. On this occasion we were allocated room 320 - a room on the new floor. Tastefully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed and high quality bedding. Reception staff greet you with a warm welcome. A very comfortable and relaxing bar area. An excellent breakfast in a well organised and efficient environment.

« Fond memories of my wedding 45 years ago. Pinewood still has the same charm and beauty. »

My sister surprised me with stay at the Pinewood Hotel before my return flight from Manchester to Toronto in May 2016. Why the Pinewood ? Because I had my wedding reception there 45 years ago. What a nostalgic and wonderful surprise. It is still a beautiful and traditional hotel. In 1971 there was just the white building at the front of the property but now Best Western has added a wing to accommodate more rooms and meeting facilities. Tastefully done and they have maintained the charm and uniqueness of the original hotel. One staff member, Rick, a local lad who knew the history of the hotel, took us to what used to be "The Penny Farthing Suite". It is now a meeting room but with a little imagination I was there as a young bride. I had Lancashire Hot Pot in the One Eighty. Delicious and also comfort food. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding. Before leaving for the airport I had a photo on the steps leading into the garden. The exact stair and garden that we had a group wedding photos. I recall some wedding photos around a pond in the garden. And it's still. It's some kind of a planter but I recognized it. Thank you for the memories and maintaing the charm and beautiful of this this treasure of a hotel. All the staff were friendly and efficient. A warm welcome,. Thank you. Even without the memories, I'd recommend the Pinewood Hotel to all guests.

« Avoid Rooms Above the Function Suites »

Firstly this is a very pleasant location with helpful staff and good facilities. The grounds are very secluded and soothing and the location for the airport is excellent. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the rooms are modern and functional especially as we stayed in the newly refurbished rooms. You could smell the newness of the carpet. The only gripe. Upon arrival we were told that there was a joint 40th birthday party but because we were staying on the 3rd floor it will not affect us. Unfortunately it did and for five hours we had to put up with the thud of the DJ's music. Upon ringing the reception they were genuinely surprised at this and it transpired that there were soundproofing issues in some of the new rooms. They refunded us half the room rate for our troubles. We would return again but would insist we are nowhere near the function suites!!

    « Wilmslow Break »

We picked this hotel for being conveniently centred for us to visit various 'Trust' Properties and other holiday activities. We found the hotel to be nicely presented and the room small but attractively presented and we particularly enjoyed the patio and garden setting.....very pleasant to sit and have a drink. My only complaint would be that on our 2nd night a rowdy party went on late at night on either the patio (or the room next door - we were above the patio but couldn't see it, so it was difficult to make out exactly) we did phone down about 2.20am and asked if something could be done but nothing happened and the noise went on for another hour or more.

    « Wedding Anniversary Stay »

Fantastic Hotel cannot rate it High enough, My husband and I celebrated our 11th Wedding Anniversary, we chilled in the afternoon with a few wines, staff very attentive and friendly. Room was stunning with a beautiful view of the gardens. Our evening meal was fabulous , finished off with coffee in the bar. Breakfast was great lots of choice and the food was lovely and hot, I love it that toast is brought to the table so you don't have to stand at a machine like most other hotels do. We will be back!

« Stayed again before holiday. »

We have stayed here numerous times before going on holiday, it's a great hotel with excellent staff. We paid £113 for park and ride in a balcony room with 15 days parking, it's £99 in a double, which this time unfortunately we couldn't really use as it was raining, but not a problem as the view over the garden is great. We were too leaving too early for breakfast in the morning but if you want for £5 the hotel will make you up a light takeaway one. We always have an evening meal in the hotel, the food is fabulous and reasonably priced, compliments once again to the chefs and all waiters and waitresses. The room is very comfortable with the usual tea, coffee, biscuits, flat screen tv, all the necessary toiletries and the safe , which is free, enabling us to put our passports etc in for safe keeping. Handforth Dean shopping centre is only a 15 min walk or 5 min drive to have a nosey round and get sandwiches for the airport or last minute bits you have forgotten. The taxi firm(lynx) were spot on time both ways, and send you txt messages to let you know your taxi has been booked and also when it has arrived, which always makes the stress of the airport a little better. We will be back again next year when they may have finished adding more rooms, thanks again for a lovely stay.

« Great Staff Nice Rooms »

I have been staying at this hotel almost every night for the past couple of months and it is my hotel of choice for this area. What sets this hotel above the others in my opinion is the staff who are always friendly efficient and courteous. Sadly that is not the case with many of the other hotels in the area. The staff here do go the extra mile to help and assist you and seem enthusiastic and well prepared for all situations. The rooms are always left fully stocked and well cleaned and the food here in my opinion is very good and I have not had a bad meal from over 30 visits. It's a little pricey but what other hotel gives better value and service in the area, not many! If I had to make one complaint it would be the bacon at breakfast. On every occasion I have dined there the bacon is always so over baked its dry and hard and at £15 for a breakfast perhaps it could be improved but the rest of the breakfast offering is always to a good standard. The hotel itself is pleasant, well laid out and the standard of décor is good. The rooms are adequate and well appointed. The beds in some rooms are better than others but none are that bad. A few of the rooms are located right next to the lift shafts which could be annoying especially when airport users depart at very early o clock! and a few others do seem to pick up a slight noise from air con units or other fans near the room. I am sure the hotel would happily accommodate a room swap for light sleepers but I have never been that badly affected to request this yet. I am currently in a disabled room although I do not require it but I can see it is equally well appointed with all the required equipment fitted. Like I said before I have been here probably 30 times in the last 2 months and will probably do the same in the next two months (by choice) and as yet I have been very impressed and all credit to every member of staff and special credit to the guys behind the bar.

    « Second time here. »

We stayed here in 2009, and everything was great. This time it was terrible. We checked in on April 30, 2016. Staying just for the night as we had an 11:00 am flight. Around 7:30 or 8:00pm, there was a terrible racket from one of the party rooms that continued until 12:30. This noise was supposed to be music, but it was loud bass sounds that vibrated the TV and rattled the walls. I called the desk to complain and was told there was an, 'event', going on in one of the party rooms. I was awake till 1:30am with a headache. They can not pay me to stay here again. Sunday morning we down to have breakfast at 7:00am, but was told they don't start serving until 8:00am. Our taxi picked us up at 8:15 to take us to the airport, and we managed to grab a ham sandwich before boarding.

« Comfortable overnight pre holiday stay »

Booked a stay prior to flying from Manchester airport, which included parking for the duration of our holiday and taxi transfers. All went smoothly and the staff were friendly and helpful, both on reception and over breakfast. Apparently the hotel has just undergone a refurbishment. Only slight niggle, which did not affect us but might affect someone less mobile, was the lift does not fully service all the rooms. We had a small flight of stairs to negotiate to get from the lift to our room. We were offered assistance with our cases, which we declined, but anyone with walking difficulties would be advised to check where the lift access is in relation to their room on booking or checking in.

« Best Western PLUS Pinewood, Wilmslow, Manchester »

Good hotel with friendly staff. Hotel garden kept in excellent condition. Parking can be problematical when the hotel is busy. EV charge point type 2 works well, 3 pin standard socket does not accept a normal 3 in plug.

« GREAT STAFF QUALITY HOTEL »

This BW Hotel is in a good location for access to South Manchester and nearby Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and Didsbury. Rooms are a decent size, breakfast is spot on and the evening meal too. Recent renovations to the hotel are looking good too!

    « Great hotel »

Used the park and fly facility here which included car parking and taxi transfers to Manchester airport, the hotel is lovely, staff very helpful, especially with the lift out of order they brought our cases to the second floor. We had a lovely meal and the lady in charge, sorry can't remember her name but she was from Sardinia was most accommodating when we were give the wrong bottle of wine. We will definitely use this hotel again

« EXTREMELY UNACCOMMODATING and not a 4 star hotel! »

We arrived from the US after a long flight tired and in need of both sleep and shower. We emailed ahead to request an early check in, but were made to wait 1.5 hours on a sofa in the reception area until 2:00 on the dot, check in time! So our greeting was a bit less than welcome. When we finally got our room, it did NOT look like the pictures from their website, at all. There were two single beds and one small twin bed. My husband and I were less than delighted, to say the least. Our room overlooked the parking lot with a construction site in the distance, so while there was some noise during the day, it was more quite at night. The room was clean and had heat, but no air conditioning. But it was a cool evening so we were able to open the window. Bed was comfortable, and pillows adequate. The bathroom was also clean, and there were adequate towels. There is a teapot in the room for boiling water, and complementary tea. Overall, this is a 1 star hotel with dreadful customer service. Definitely NOT a four star hotel. My recommendation: Stay if you must, but there are too many other great choices to enjoy at much better prices.

« Helpful and friendly staff »

All the staff were extreamly helpful and friendly. I had an issue with a small draft from the window my room. When I spoke to reception they immediately moved me to another room and reported the issue to their maintainence team to rectify in the original too. The rooms are of a high standard and I would happily recommend the hotel.

« Good value quality hotel near Manchester Airport »

Stayed at the hotel ahead of an early meeting at Manchester Airport. A major refurbishment is almost complete. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very clean and presentable. The refurbished bar and restaurant and welcoming and surprisingly good value

    « One nighter »

Good quality and clean rooms, lovely lounge and bar area, well kept gardens. Food was good. We only stayed for one night, check-in was excellent and the staff were all helpful and polite. Carpark was a bit tight in and out as you use the same entrance, but over all was a pleasant stay, shame it was for only one night.

« Stopover for Manchester airport »

Spacious clean room with comfy beds. Although undergoing renovation work this did not impact on our stay the only problem being the lift was not working but our luggage was taken to our rooms and we only had one flight of stairs to climb. We ate in the restaurant the food was very good especially the Lancashire hotpot although a little pricey but i guess that's what you come to expect at the Best Western these days. The receptionist organised a taxi to the airport which was good value, prompt & efficent. Overall good price paid for a one night stopover we would visit again.

    « ONE NIGHT ONLY ... »

My wife and I stayed here recently en route to Manchester airport (a very short distance away) as were had a very early morning flight. It was reasonably priced and the room comfortable and clean - considering we only needed it for about six hours (we left at 3:45 am!) Needless to say, because of the short time in 'residence', we accessed no other services and thus can't comment on them. However, the check-in was straightforward and we had an alarm call booked. The only downside was that we had to use the stairs (there is presently no lift in operation) to access the room - which is an issue for those, like myself, with a disability, especially if you have a considerable amount of luggage to carry. In this instance it wasn't a major problem for us as we left the main luggage in the car, but would be for those with significant mobility problems.

    5
    « Service as usual »

Again we chose The Pinewood Hotel on our visit to Manchester. Booking in was straightforward and a lovely surprise in the room were complimentary chocolate dipped strawberries, thankyou. The room was very clean and had a large shower (some are tiny in other hotels). The evening meal was delicious and the service was attentive without being obtrusive, all washed down with a fine rose wine, as recommended by the manager. Excellent hotel, and well placed for the airport and train station. We will return.

    « Smart spacious room »

Stayed here for one night on a work trip room was lovely spotless and very modern. Had room service which was nice enough and breakfast in the morning was very good. Most importantly for me the room was nice and quiet so I had a great nights sleep! Staff were friendly and helpful. Will stay again when in the area.

    « Alright, yeah »

Stayed over here last weekend for a friends' wedding nearby. The room was as expected for this level of hotel, really. Bathroom was fine, had a bath as well as a shower. The bed was big and comfy enough, no problems there - my only complaint is that I couldn't find a plug anywhere near the bed. Not a huge deal, just a bit annoying when I needed to charge and use my phone the following morning. Sadly didn't get down to the breakfast I'd paid for as I was viciously hungover after said wedding. The grounds were very nice and green, and the bar was alright albeit a little small/slow for such a big group of post-wedding guests. I'd stay again, I reckon.

    « Good stopover »

We stayed here recently while attending a nearby wedding. We decided to eat in the restaurant even though it was empty. We all enjoyed our two course meal and thought the menu suited most tastes. The Lancashire hot pot was amazing. Our rooms were standard, no complaints but a few more milk pots would have been nice as we need two per cuppa. Four is a bit mean. Breakfast was good but the dirty dishes were not taken away so the table got overloaded. We had to ask for extra coffee too. Would stay again if in the area.

    « Very disappointing!.... »

We decided to visit the hotel for a late lunch & sat in the bar area, the restaurant looked empty/closed. I fancied a roast dinner but as only the bar menu was on offer and it was after 3pm, we thought we were too late for this & ordered from that. Long story short, the vegetables, were disgusting, old & a carrot was even mouldy! My salmon was tasty & well cooked, but the sauce was gritty. Strange. My son & a friend had the burger, which they said was ok, nothing special. However, overpriced at over £12, for what it was. (They said they preferred Macdonalds over it). Lipstick on the coffee cup, table not wiped after the meal was cleared, had to keep finding a member of staff for service & nobody bothered to ask if we enjoyed our meal, so we paid the £53 & left feeling disgruntled & ripped off. All in all, not a good experience at all. We've had Sunday brunch here many times & always had great service & been looked after by a fantastic lady (blonde hair & glasses), she wasn't there today. What a shame. The fact that a man sat down in the bar area near us and had what looked like a lovely fresh roast beef dinner, didn't help the situation. I should have asked if it was available, hindsight & all that. Anyway, We won't be visiting again, but I don't think anyone will be bothered, to be honest.....

    « Good »

I last stayed at this hotel more than 5 years ago when it was a Menzies hotel, as a Best Western now and undergoing renovation work I feared the worst but was pleasantly surprised. The general standard is very good, room was modern and clean. I ate in the bar area and the food was OK too. My only gripe would be that the reception seemed under-staffed, juggling many things between conference delegates and hotel guests, so the check-in and check-out was slow - but friendly!

    3
« Stayed prior to airport departure »

On floor two - lift out of action - receptionist did offer to get bags taken to room, no offer of help down in morning at 5.30am check out. Good sized room, comfortable bed and pillows. Room designed for three with double and single but only one packet of biscuits!! Bathroom a little dated and smelt very damp, cracked floor tiles and poor flush and slow refill on toilet Good meal in the restaurant, Karen who looked after us was very friendly and attentive. Not a great nights sleep, woken by party goers at 2am and people leaving at 3.30am....also the person snoring next door!!

    3
    « Not for sleeping »

Stayed here for one night, prior to catching our flight at Manchester Airport. The problem is here that other people are doing the same. We were set to get up for 05.15am so we could get showered and arrive at the Airport in good time. The problem was that we were woken at 3am by a noisy shower from next door. If you had later flight, I think the sleeping would have been hard. On the other hand, the room was clean, only 1 pkt of biscuits:(. I would only recommend this hotel for a overnight stay but ask to be put in room away from other travellers wanting an early wake up call. On the downside we asked at reception for a early breakfast but this request was not passed on and we had to wait for our carry out which consisted of a cereal bar, Banana and French pastry. Coffee.

    5
    « Great overnight stay. »

OK so it's a Best Western, but this one seems to have been recently upgraded - either that or the staff have kept it in almost pristine condition. The lift was out of service due to the extension to a new level, but that was no problem as staff were available if we needed them -this may be the situation for a short while yet but do not let it put you off staying there. Bedroom was superbly presented and the overall ambiance was totally fine for a pleasant evening preparing for dinner in the Hotel which was not 5 star cuisine, but in every other way acceptable and great value for money. Breakfast was a similar good experience and we would consider using this hotel as an add-on to flights from Manchester at some future date. IMy wife and I are 'fans' of the Best western venues and this visit simply cemented that view to another level. Thank you for a fine night!

    « Shame »

On arrival at the hotel all I could see was scaffolding surrounding the building and thought oh no. I eventually checked in and was point in direction of my room only to come all way back to reception as the key card didn't work. The room and bathroom were clean and warm but small and dated in style. I needed to do some urgent work and struggled to do this with the men taken the scaffolding down and associated noises, after an hour at around 4,30pm I asked reception when they plan to stop and I will resume my work then. They stopped quite soon after my call. I ate in the restaurant and had a nice meal but again was put off by the staff setting up the unused table for breakfast. Had breakfast in the morning and nothing stood out for me to think this was any other hotel at breakfast time? I might try this hotel again when works are completed to give it a chance.

    « Great overnight stay. »

We picked this hotel for its proximity to Manchester airport. We had a one night stay previous to a flight to Florida. Warm welcome from reception. Good room. We had a meal in he restaurant which was very good. Next morning, easy check out, help with luggage. John Scott, general manager, was particularly helpful. Very good experience.

Celebrated both my Grandparents 90th birthdays here in last six months. Very courteous efficient staff, very hard working committed team. Good food. Drinks okay, perhaps a touch over priced. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Very Comfortable beds. Good tidy facilities. Good breakfast buffet. I'd stay again. Professional outfit. Many thanks.

« Lovely room, Amazing staff »

Stayed here with my husband and it was such a lovely get away. We were greeted at reception by Emily who was so polite and met our every need, every question was answered even before having to ask! The lift was not working and even though our room was on the first floor Emily insisted we left our bags and someone would bring them to us. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant, the Egyptian waiter (forgot his name) is a credit to your team, could not do enough for us. Our room was spotless and very modern. I would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends for the great food, friendly staff, lovely room and good location. I look forward to staying with you again.

« Great place but stratospheric bar prices »

Lovely clean place with really nice staff who do all in their power to give good service but try not to die of shock when you order a drink. They seem to be making up numbers from the telephone directory when you get the bar bill.

« Very professionally run hotel »

Stopped at this hotel for one night after a flight back from Europe. The staff were very polite and courteous . The restaurant was excellent with high quality food and top notch service, nothing was too much trouble! Room was well presented and had everything one needs for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was also excellent, good extensive choice and catered for all requirements, from healthy options (fruit, smoothies, yoghurts etc..) to the full English options. Sat in a nice location, with a pleasant patio & garden (perfect for a cold drink on a summers evening), I would highly recommend this hotel. This was a excellent example of how a hotel should be presented and it's a credit to the Manager and to the Best Western brand.

Wouldn't recommend this hotel what so ever, had an overseas visitor and was totally embarrassed, Gentleman had to carry his own bags upstairs because the lift was not in use, when the booking was being taken not once were we informed that there was major building renovations taking place, we had to ring 3 times to get an email of confirmation of booking took 3 days!!!!! the food was just awful, 'boil in the bag burger' anyone ever had such a thing, hoping the head chef must of had a night off surely the food can not be this bad all the time , and the hotpot just was grey!!!!! woke at 7am workmen were banging !!!! Paying at the restaurant was a joke !!!!! 6 attempts to pay they couldn't get service on the card machine. had to almost go outside

    « Superb 50th Birthday Party »

We booked one of the suits at the Pinewood for a 50th Birthday. Well, from start to finish the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble! The room itself was 'decked-out' beautifully, the 'in-room' bar was excellent and the buffet food was superb. Just wanted to extend a massive thank you to John Scott and all the staff for making this special occasion one to remember, for all the right reasons! Thank you Justin Covil

    « Stayed in a cupboard! »

Stay for one night. Check in was smooth however lifts weren't working and I had been allocated a room on the 3rd floor!. Laptop, suite case and handbag all dragged by myself to my room only to get there and find that the key card wasn't working. Lucky I spotted a house keeper who was kind enough to let me in the room and then called reception and sorted another key car for me. No apology from reception! I booked a signal room and honestly it was the smallest room I had ever seen, there was no space for my case or anything else. It was a single room and then bathroom and toilet added to it. Basically a small box room. The room deco and the bathroom was old and dated. Really didn't enjoy my stay. Never booking again.

    « Very enjoyable! »

Lots of good things to say about this hotel; great food, comfy bed, nice staff, easy parking etc. The bedroom floor was a bit creeky and I felt I was disturbing other guests when I walked around! However, this did not put me off and I would definately stay again. Overall a very enjoyable experience, thank you!

    « Love this hotel & staff !... »

Yet again another fantastic stay @ the Pinewood. My husband & I stayed here for our wedding anniversary & his 50th birthday, John and his team made our stay very special and as usual we were treated like royalty. No matter how busy the staff members are they always make time to chat. We really do feel at home here and can't wait for our next visit in the Summer :@} x

    « Good hotel »

Stayed here for one night as we were in the area for the weekend. Very modern, clean and friendly receptionist. The bathroom and the shower were a bit old and we couldnt really close the bathroom door in our room. The view from our bedroom was scaffolding and the hotel lift was broken. Despite all that, our room was big. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Nicely decorated and very modern. So overall, it was a good hotel.

    « Another great stay - well done !! »

We use this hotel on a regular basis to stay and park when we go on holiday. The hotel is extremely well run with very friendly and helpful staff for which nothing is too much trouble. It has a very good restaurant with a good selection of dishes and a well stocked bar. Following a recent holiday we also stayed on our return into the country rather than drive home. The hotel is currently undergoing building work to add extra rooms . This is being carried in a discrete manner and is not affecting how the hotel operates. As part of this work the lift is currently out of action however there is always someone available to help with luggage if it is needed. Once these works are complete it will make a great hotel even better.

    « Fantastic staff »

Stayed apt Pinewood for 10 nights on business. Very comfortable stay, made very enjoyable by 5* food and service. Ate in hotel restaurant 8 evenings and without exception tremendous food. Staff deserve a special mention as they made my stay very smooth, with exceptional customer service , highly professional with personal touch. Particular mention to Karen, Stacey in the restaurant and Alex in the bar. Will make a point of selecting this hotel in future.

    « Great hotel »

I stay here on business now and again. The hotel looks as if it has been refurbished and all the rooms I have stayed in have been modern and fresh. The breakfast and bar menu is good. I have eaten in the restaurant but found the choice a little limited. The meeting rooms here are also good. Would recommend to business visitors.

    « Handy for airport »

My wife and I stayed here for one night before our flight. The staff were extremely helpful and we had a good welcome. The room was fine though perhaps a bit on the small side and lacked an easy chair. It was very clean and had a super bathroom. The breakfast was very good and hot, unlike some hotels where the breakfast buffet is tepid. There is an option of having your breakfast specially cooked. Presently there are renovations going on but noise did not trouble us and work only started ay 9.00. There is free Wi-Fi and you get free use to a nearby fitness centre. We would come here again.

    « 50th birthday night away »

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying once again. As is always the case from the minute we entered the hotel our stay was made pleasurable by the manager John and his wonderful staff. We enjoyed a fantastic meal in the restaurant that evening where once again the restaurant manager and waiting on staff were top notch. Breakfast the following morning was possibly my favourite part of the stay. Food was gorgeous and hotel manager John was his usual industrious and ever chatty self. Roll on our next stay!!

« Best value hotel in Manchester area »

I've stayed here frequently for the past 5 months, but am now working elsewhere. Would always stay here if I was working close. The main reasons are: 1. Lovely friendly hotel, with great staff 2. Food has always been superb. Great buffet breakfast, with really good ingredients well cooked. One of the best, scrambled egg is simply the best. Evening menu varied, and great value for the quality. 3. On site parking, never had any issues finding a space, easy links, although A34 roadworks cause minor delays. 10 minute walk to station with direct link to central Manchester. 4. Comfortable rooms with good beds, and nice and quiet. 5. Value for what you get. Perhaps a little more than a budget hotel, but this offers so much more. For me no comparison. A great flagship for Best Western hotels. Hope to return soon

    « . Amazing! »

I've been to 3 functions over the past couple of months and felt i had to leave a quick review as each visit has been outstanding! I went with my family ( 18 of us including 5 children) on Xmas day and the whole experience was outstanding. The manager John gave us a private dinning room so the children had room to play which was great. The food choice was super and we had no issues with my food allergies or catering for the children. Food was hot, well presented and amazing service throughout. The atmosphere was so festive and we are booking again for next year. I also attended 2 party nights over xmas and both were faultless , great music, 3 course meal, brilliant service with the food and on the bar. Management were on hand the whole evening making sure all went well. Excellent! looking forward to my next visit.

    « Let's visit Manchester! »

For me this was a great hotel in a great location.. Free car parking, and only 15 minutes from Cheadle/Gatley.. The lift isn't working at present, which was news to me upon arrival.. That said the staff were very helpful with luggage.. The breakfast was nice, a reasonable selection of hot and cold food stuffs.. The room I was in was a little dated, that said the shower was really good! I slept well and despite the renovation going on at the hotel at the moment I did not hear any noise. Would stay there again. ??

« Avoid at all costs if you want to sleep! Terrible! »

I stayed here Friday - Sunday as I was working in the area. Rooms fine, staff friendly but on the Saturday night I got no sleep at all. There was a very loud disco pumping out music downstairs until 1am....and I mean pumping it out. And from 1am - 3am I had people screaming through the corridors, banging on my door! Rather scary when staying alone. I understand some hotels host parties/weddings, but given it affects other guests so much in this one (I was told by a staff member that you can hear the music from every room in the hotel - there is no escaping it) why was I not told about this function on arrival or beforehand! The worst night's sleep I have ever had. I work in this area frequently and will definitely be booking in somewhere else next time!!! Also, the lift was out of order so you need to be fit, goodness knows what disabled customers do! There were also construction works going on with scaffolding outside the hotel and the gym is definitely not 5 minutes away - more like 15! Overall very very disappointing. Worst sleep quality I have ever had in a hotel!

    « Christmas Party Night »

We came to The Pinewood on Saturday 19 December 2015 for our Christmas Party. We arrived at approx 4pm and checked in at reception. Before we went up to our rooms we had drinks in the bar. Our rooms were lovely, nice and spacious, comfy bed and pillows, very clean and tea / coffee facilities. At 7pm we all met in the reception for pre-party drinks before going into the party room. The room was dressed lovely, the tables were fab with lots of Christmassy bits on and hats. The food was probably the best I've ever had at a party night, the turkey and beef were superb. Please pass our thanks on to the and chefs for a fab meal and the hospitality team for making it a really enjoyable atmosphere. A few of us weren't particularly keen on the songs the DJ was playing but you can't please everyone. Could of done with playing more Christmas songs throughout the evening. That didn't stop us though we danced the night away, had a great time and were the last up I think. Breakfast was great, cooked just how we like it (not just showed the pan), good selection of cereals, breads, fruit, meats, juices etc. As much tea and coffee as you required. Thank you to all the staff they are a credit to the hotel, John you have a good team there, look after them.

    « Another good stay »

This was our third park and fly stay at the Pinewood hotel and was as good as on previous occasions. The charge includes accommodation, parking and taxi transfers to and from Manchester airport. The hotel is undergoing a major extension/facelift so there is a lot of scaffolding on the building. We were allocated an executive room which was of a good size and comfortably furnished, although it was starting to look tired. A hospitality tray is provided as is an in-room safe. The public areas are stylish and comfortable. The restaurant serves good food which is nicely presented. Alcohol prices are as one would expect in this type of hotel. My husband was pleased to see that a bitter ale has been introduced since our last stay. We like this hotel and will continue to use it when we fly from Manchester airport and recommend it. Staff are efficient and friendly. Housekeeping is good throughout the hotel.

« Great location, nothing fancy »

Stayed in the hotel for a few times in the last few months. Hotel has nothing special and is under reconstruction. Rooms are little oldfashioned and would be great if matrasses could be replaced. Feels like they have not been replaced in the last 20 years. Great bar and excellent breakfast. Very friendly service. I just book it because it is very convenient for my meetings.... otherwise would never consider to stay here.....

« Awful - plenty of better places to choose »

First stay at this Manchester hotel as part of a business trip. Room was small and smelt of stake cigarette smoke. Decor was tired and the heating in room was not working. Would have called reception but the room phone was also not working. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

    « Excellent room »

We stayed here overnight in king size room. Was lovely room so spacious and very comfortable bed too. Lovely hotel and lovely reception staff. Nice filling breakfast too all fresh and yummy food. Definitely will be back again for the food and the lovely room too

« Decent hotel but covered in scaffolding as adding floors »

The inside of the hotel is nice - smart restaurant and rooms. Lots of choice (hot & cold) for breakfast but beware that they clear away the hot breakfast food buffet a full half an hour before breakfast stops being served. You have to ask for a cooked breakfast then. Why not just leave it out until the end of service? Looks like they have regular coachloads of Japanese/Chinese tourists staying so make sure you time your breakfast to miss the rush. Staff are all friendly & polite. Would go back if needed to stay in the area again.

    « A great stay seeing in 2016 »

After my daughte's wedding on 30 Dec our extended family along with the grooms family decided to take in a NewxYears Eve dinner and Masqurade Ball at Best Western's Pinewood. What a fantastic atmosphere and enjoyed evening by all 15 in our party. The staff were brilliant - obviously the Manager recruits and trains well. Polite, going the extra mile so much so that everyone in our party complimented me on choosing the venue. The evening's organisation was a very slick operation with good timely service for all at the ball, which given a 5 course meal was a well executed feat. Currently work building 19 extra rooms is underway but inside the building you would not be aware of this. Cannot fault this venue and close to airport and Manchester. Well done!

    « Park and fly »

We stayed here the night before we flew to Lisbon. Weve stayed here before ,so new what to expect . The hotel is fine for that purpose, they are having some kind of refurb at the moment. We went to the airport by taxi , which was included in the price. Would stay again .

    « Christmas Day Lunch »

All the staff were very friendly and obliging. Food was very good. Not as good as home cooking but so lovely to have food put in front of you and NO clearing up afterwards! Personally, I would have liked just a plainly roasted turkey. More vegetables needed and more gravy. Roast potatoes were not so good - not crispy like they should be! Having said, the overall meal was very good.

    « Average »

We attended a wedding reception at this hotel and it was ok. Parking was a bit tight, the bedroom was fine, garden was pleasant, breakfast was good. My wife ate the vegetarian option for the wedding breakfast (a curry) and was sick soon afterwards. The bar area was quite small and the choice or beers limited. Overall it's not bad for a one night stay if you're in the area and that's what you need. nothing to get excited about either way.

« The right choice hotel. »

What a lovely hotel this is. The reception, dining area and bar are a pleasant first view when you enter. We stayed here with family as part of the last stage of the new years holiday. Our experience was totally faultless. The atmosphere, the staff and total experience was extremely pleasant.

« Excellent overall stay over a few years »

Over the last few years we have visited this hotel, only for an overnight, on route to a holiday destination. On all occasions we had a superb and friendly welcome experience. We also left our car for the duration of our holiday, were taken to the airport and returned. This was organised by our the tour organiser. The restaurant food and service was excellent and would highly recommend it. This Christmas my husband booked it as a Christmas present to go and see "The Bodyguard" at the "Palace" theatre in the centre of Manchester. We had planned to get a taxi to the centre of Manchester which would have cost approx £30 each way. However we took a walk in the morning to see where we we were and discovered a station. The , returned at a fraction of the cost of at least £60. Have to recommend this hotel for friendliness, cleanliness and professionalism, especialy in dealing with any little problems. High reguards to,I think "Rick" who helped us move rooms. Stacey, the restaurant manager, John, the night watchman and very importantly, John, the General Manager. Not sure of the bar mans name but welcomed us back and remembered the drinks we had ( a true professional) Thorourghly recommend this hotel. sandra

    « Great Christmas Party! »

Came here for our group Christmas Party, even though I live nearby I have not been before. The hotel is lovely and clean, staff are very nice and friendly and the Christmas meal was perfect. Will be going back in the near future for Sunday lunch.

    « Christmas works night »

We were booked here for our second year for our works party night in the Tatton Suite Three tables in a good location and nicely set with Christmas hats on each chair and a nice selection of party things on table The food in general was good especially for such large numbers my plate for my main course was so hot I couldn't touch it Lovely turkey meal and nice chocolate dessert Sadly for the second year running my colleagues who had the fish were not impressed. The main big negative for us was the terrible DJ when asked if he had any Christmas music his reply was "Christmas? " No The music he played was terrible and many of our party left early One other issue some people from another group who would not stay off the dance floor with drinks!! You really need to police this better Overall we have decided that maybe this year was to be our last.

« Too cold for me »

I have stayed in many Best Western Hotels, both in the UK and aboard and showed my loyalty card on checking in as I have usually been given an upgraded room. Not so on this occasion. I wasn't too bothered as I was only staying for one night but the room I was given was not at all satisfactory. The bathroom was freezing cold and the radiator not working. I asked at reception if it could be turned on but was told it had been turned off for health and safety reasons. She said she would send a portable heater to the room which I thought would be more dangerous in a bathroom than a radiator. The heater never arrived so I has to suffer the cold. I was expecting hot chocolate along with the tea and coffee in the room but non was provided and the biscuits were broken into many pieces. I was woken up at 04.45 by noisy guests in the next room, the walls seemed to be very thin. I wouldn't return to this hotel

    4
    « Clean and comfortable »

Stayed one night in December - me & my mum in a twin room. On arrival we were warned that there were Christmas parties taking place, but that our room was "tucked away" and that we shouldn't experience any noise. This was very true. The room itself was really lovely - very comfortable and well equipped. Admittedly, the bathroom fittings were a bit out of date and 'tired', but still clean and functional. Didn't use the hotel restaurant, so can't comment. Only downside was the car park - disjointed from the hotel building and as we arrived in the dark, it wasn't clear how to actually gain entrance to the hotel! Thanks goodness it wasn't raining!

« Good place to stay »

I visit this area on business several times a year and Best Western Pinewood is always an option for accommodation. It provides comfortable, clean and generally well appointed rooms. It is also very handy for the airport. The staff are unfailingly, pleasant and helpful. Just a few niggles to be aware of though. This may not be true of all rooms but I was woken many times during the night by the white noise of the flow of water in the central heating system. This may not bother everyone. Secondly in these days of connectivity I found my room a little lacking in power points. Also although the wifi connection is Ok and free, having to re confirm one's acceptance of terms and conditions every time one goes online is a bit tiresome. Finally, although the food in the restaurant is OK and there is a good choice, there was a distinct lack of liaison between dining room and bar staff. On both evenings I dined there, when I ordered my main I asked for a glass of wine. ON both occasions it did not arrive. On the second night I asked for a glass of a specific white wine. A red turned up. I sent it back. Then the wrong white turned up. By the third time of asking I had no idea if it was the white had ordered. By this time I would have liked to have seen the bottle ! To cap it all, at no time in the evening was I asked, if, "every thing was alright sir ?" Perhaps they knew not to ask. So what am I saying ? A place that is value for money for accommodation but if you are eating there be careful when ordering wine.

    « Fantastic Party night! »

We booked in here - a party of 15 ladies as a surprise birthday treat for our friend on Saturday. We only live 13 miles away but none of us had ever heard of the hotel - I have no idea why, as we had an amazing time and the hotel is great! The Hotel reception is around the side of the hotel so there is no glamorous frontage, but when you find the entrance it is bright, modern and really nice. As soon as we walked in through the doors we were welcomed and asked our party name. The hostess knew without looking which suite we were in, took all our coats and hung them up for us and directed us to our room. We had been put in a small function room (2 tables for our party), with 4 other tables in the room and a small dancefloor. We each had the usual crackers and party poppers on the table and also a really nice quality Christmas hat on each chair - a lovely touch. The two course meal was really lovely (sometimes the mass catering lets hotels down, but this was really very good. The service was good and the meal throughout was a pleasure. The DJ was brilliant. He told us he was happy to take requests and seemed to pick up on what we liked to dance to and he had a full dancefloor all night. One thing I was very impressed with was when he stopped the music to request a gatecrasher (a group of men appeared part way through the night from who-knows-where) put his drink on the table. He wouldn't re-start the music until the dancefloor was clear of drinks. I thought it was very professional of him. Two of our ladies did have a problem with the dancefloor as there were gaps in it and they got their heels caught in the gaps which scuffed them and damaged two pairs of brand new shoes - disappointing but they advised the staff who I have every faith in dealing with this properly, as my view of this hotel is that it is a really good hotel and very well run. We have already discussed having our 'couples' Christmas party there next year!!

    « Two night stay »

With family attending a wedding and booked three rooms for two nights. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Very accommodating in trying to place us close to each other as different rooms required. Our executive room over looking the garden was superb. One spacious twin and a perfectly adequate single. Clean comfortable rooms, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel was busy with Christmas parties during the evening which just added to the atmosphere. The room s were still quiet. The breakfast was delicious and of good quality and still serving at 10:00am. Happy, hardworking, pleasant staff. Good value for money and overall a very pleasant stay. We would certainly return if the need ever arose.

    « Great Hotel »

Great hotel, very convenient for Manchester Airport. Good staff, very helpful. Good rooms with good décor and comfortable. However beware! If using satnav to find the hotel, the post code does not give the same road name as indicated on the web site. Also note that the hotel is not in Manchester! If you put in Manchester to the satnav and the road/no you will end up 10 miles from the hotel!!! Otherwise really recommended!!

    « Christmas Party Night »

Our first Christmas Party Night last night at the Pinewood Hotel was really brilliant, from the moment we entered the bar area we were made very welcome, and we enjoyed a very pleasant meal served by very attentive and smiling staff, we will certainly be attending future party nights at the Pinewood Hotel, The only downside was that they do not serve draught Guinness, which I usually drink. but you can't please everyone all the time.lol.

    « Very helpful staff »

I am deaf and have stayed in many hotels over the years and always tell the reception staff about my deafness in case of fire alarms etc. during the night. Normally I get a vague promise about making a note of it but here the reception staff went out of their way to tell me about, and bring to my room, a vibrating alarm which could be put under my pillow. This is a very welcome service I have rarely encountered before even at much more expensive and exclusive hotels. The hotel itself is friendly and comfortable - the only reason it doesn't get the full monty from me is due to some building work going on at the moment.

    4
« Friendly staff, nice hotel »

This hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Handforth translation and about 3 minutes from the village center. A 10 pound taxi-ride will take you to Manchester Airport, so I'd say it is a pretty convenient place to stay. Hotel-staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfy and pretty well equipped.

« Excellant Pre Flight Hotel with Parking »

This is my 2nd visit to use this hotel as a one night stop over before a flight. We arrivied around 6pm on a Sunday and got a very friendly greeting and we had been upgraded us to a new executive room, wish I had been stopping longer, a very large beautifully furnished room with sofa, coffee table and well stocked refreshment tray etc, the bathroom has a bath and separate shower cubicle and lovely toiletries. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was good and again friendly service. We paid £95 for room only & 15 nights parking which included taxis too and from the airport, the transfers were very easy both ways and takes approx 15 minutes. Will definatly use again for an airport stopover or if visiting the area.

    3
    « Cold and noisy »

Nice hotel, good parking. The meeting room we were in had a divide down the middle and all the groups who used the room next door were very noisy. The bedroom in the top floor was very cold, so I turned the radiator on which made a racket and kept me awake most of the night. Told reception when checking out and they didn't care, which was a little annoying

    4
    « Very Good Hotel »

Have visited this hotel quite a few times both for business and pleasure and never yet been disappointed. Staff are always polite and friendly no matter how busy they are. Hotel rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Downstairs though maybe lacking in comfortable areas to relax in warm, clean and friendly. John Scott the general manager is a very visible team leader, very friendly and polite and his team do him credit. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and look forward to see what difference the current renovations will make.

    « Great reunion! »

We held a school reunion here, and couldn't have been more pleased with the helpful service we had from the events staff. The food was fabulous and the whole night was amazing value. The hotel rooms were really comfortable, cosy and clean, and breakfast was delicious. The hotel staff provided a projector and screen at no extra charge, and put hydrogen balloons on the tables at only £2 per table - really great, thank you!

    « Lovely anniversary stay »

We got married at the Pinewood in October 2014 and returned to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We were given one of the newer rooms which also had a balcony, the room was lovely and the hotel had left us some chocolate strawberries. We had our evening meal in the restaurant, we have eaten here a few times now and again the food was wonderful, lots of choice and really filling! We had breakfast the next morning which was brilliant, all fresh and lots of options. It was quite busy in the morning, but there was plenty of food and the staff with the seating, toast, tea and coffee were great. Thanks again to all the staff at the Pinewood for providing fantastic service and a very enjoyable stay. We will back again soon for a meal or an overnight stay.

« Disappointed about the service »

It was the second time that I stayed in the hotel, in both occasions due to business. This time we stayed with a big group - around 20 rooms. I was quite surprised that the hotel asked us to pay our stay when checking in even though they have the information about our company. It is the first time that a hotel asked us to do this. The rooms are quite small and little bit smelly - It might be due to the carpets.

    5
    « Good location : excellent venue »

Stayed at the Pinewood for a weekend to attend a family christening. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would be hard pressed to find fault. My greatest acolade would be for the staff. Everyone worked so hard but never-the-less were consistently courteous and helpful. Our bonus was that the post Christening party was also held at the Hotel and was greatly enjoyed by everyone. The Hotel is close to the hub of the local road network and is accessible by taxi from Wilmslow Rail Station. Couldn't recommend highly enough

    « Quality Hotel »

We stayed for a wedding in a nearby hotel. This hotel is modern clean with great service. The rooms are clean with all facilities and great bathroom. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bar and restaurant areas were nice but the food menu was limited although the prices are at the right price especially the wine list.

    4
    « Good venue »

Visited as part of a group, hotel has been modernised and is clean. We used one of the suites for a meeting. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Only disappointment was that the hotel is currently having building work done in the daytime, the noise can be a bit of a distraction.

    « A great improvement. »

We have been visiting this hotel for over twenty years, during which ownership changed hands several times....in recent years it has been taken over by the Best Western group, and it is remiss of me not to have made a review...we were there twice this year in June and September on both occasions we were welcomed assisted with our need for ongoing travel by the helpful reception staff, who always give that bit extra if you have a problem....the rooms are comfortable with tea coffee biscuits and room service ,the on suite is roomy and the fluffy towels we all love, all around there is a high standard of cleanliness and cheerful staff, The newly structured restaurant is a great improvement on the previous hotel layout,it is comfortable and the staff very obliging, the only disappointing feature is the menu, which is a little restrictive, which I feel the dishes available are like cooking by numbers and lack that finis that only a good chef can oversee, the wine list is very good and prices compare well with other hotels of this class, overall we always enjoy our stays at the Pinewood, even if we eat elsewhere on occaisions

    « Good clean hotel »

Excellent hotel. I stayed in the executive room and it was clean, the staff were excellent, always had a smile on there faces and willing to help, had a few issues with the room service breakfast where some of the food was cold or the wrong item was received, but all in all i would recommend.

    5
    « Great airport package »

This hotel is only 10 minutes away from Manchester International airport. The accommodation is excellent especially the executive rooms. Every convenience you would want in a hotel bedroom. The One Eighty restaurant is modern, tastefully furnished with a relaxing atmosphere. The food is fresh, well prepared and better than many other hotels. We could not fault the service. All staff in the hotel are respectful and friendly, the General Manager was in attendance constantly making sure everything was running smoothly. The park and fly package is very good value for money. Overall a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. We will go back.

This is a beautiful, elegant oasis only 10 minutes from Manchester Airport. Lovely lawn in the back, very professional and helpful staff. My room was spotless and cozy. I will stay there again. My only complaint....I was right next to the elevator and there was a rather loud group that arrived late in the evening....but that's not the hotels fault, just loud, inconsiderate people.

« Very nice Place near Manchester »

The Pinewood is a very nice and comfortable place to stay, either while visiting Manchester or on your way to the airport: Lovely rooms, friendly service and very quiet, for a place that close to the airport. It is a small hotel, only two floors, and it has a personality, mostly due to the lovely garden. A great treat for place that small is the free admission to the local health/fitness club with pool.

« Watch what room you get, very clean, excellent breakfast »

No effort was made by check-in to see if there was an alternative room available with an outlook before telling me there wasn't. I felt I was being fobbed off. The window in room 225 does not look in tune with the rest of the interior (which was excellent) gave a vey depressing atmosphere. Our colleagues in 216 had a good aspect. Also, one packet of biscuits between two people sharing seems stingy comparing with other hotels. Good [email protected] iron and board included.

« Third visit to Pinewood enroute to Sharm El Sheikh »

My husband and I have stayed on three occasions at the Pinewood, with a park and fly option and it is very good value for money. The first time was in one of the older rooms but was fine, but the last two times we have been luck enough to be upgraded to one of the modern rooms, fab!! Everyone there makes you feel very welcome (not sure of the girl on receptions name, think it was Kelly), she was lovely, the bar staff excellent. The hotel is in a very good location and not far for the transfer to the airport, which is all taken care of, wouldn't hesitate to stay here any time or recommend to anyone. The rest of the rooms are being upgraded so all in all this will make the hotel even better, if it could be much better, very comfortable indeed and a very big hearty full breakfast, very tasty and hot. Hope to be back soon thanks again Pinewood.

    « Perfect Wedding Day »

We recently had our wedding reception at the Pinewood and cannot thank the staff at the hotel enough for making our big day so special. Hannah the wedding coordinator was great throughout the process and always got back to me straight away with any queries I had - as a bride with a lot to plan this took away a lot of the stress in the run up to the wedding. I left the table arrangements the day before with instructions on how the tables were to be set up and met Lucy who would be looking after us on the day (and her colleague Alice too) Everything was set up as requested and looked amazing on the day. The food was excellent and so many of our guests have commented on how tasty it was, the evening BBQ was enjoyed by everyone too. So many of our family and friends have commented on how wonderful the staff were, everyone from Lucy to the bar staff were so polite and could not do enough for us. We spoke to John the manager the following day to say what a great team he had - they made us feel like royalty during the wedding day and it was so nice to be so well looked after by everyone. The rooms were also great as was breakfast the next day. I would recommend the Pinewood as a wedding venue to anyone looking at getting married in the area and cannot praise the staff enough - thanks to all involved - we had the best day ever. « Too hot for comfort »

We desperately wanted to give this hotel a good rating because the staff were so friendly & welcoming but our experience meant we would not stay here again. We booked a park & fly - room & 8 days parking & price was reasonable with taxi transfers but our room was so hot it was impossible to sleep. There is no air con & we had window open but on a sunny September day (16/09/15) the radiator was on hot & we could not turn it down. After a couple of calls a member of staff came up & told us that it was a general setting for all rooms & would go off shortly. That was not the case - indeed it got hotter & hotter. We asked for a fan & a member of staff brought what can only be described as an industrial fan. It was so powerful & noisy that it was like being at the end of the runway. We couldn't leave it on in what was a very small double room . We understood that the hotel was full so no chance of being moved. We ended up awake for best part of the night - the room would cool for a little while & then the radiator would come back on with a vengeance , blasting out heat. We love Best Western Hotels, both in UK & abroad but although this looked a charming hotel we wouldn't return because of this problem
