"Very good location, super friendly staff"
Thinkovation, 26 Juillet 2023

Stayed here with family for two nights. Very central location, only a few minutes walk from the old town and some of the key places to see (Musee de Baux Arts, Cathedral). Really nice hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.

"Excellent Hotel - Customer Service, Comfortability are Top Notch"
WKnow, 17 Juillet 2023

As we entered the hotel's lobby to check-in, we were greeted warmly by the hotel staff. They spoke in English and French (of course). Our stay was wonderful as the front desk offered quality recommendations for city touring, walking options, and restaurants. The hotel's breakfast was quite tasty and varied and the team provided quality service throughout our dining experiences. I highly recommend this hotel in Lille.

"Lovely hotel in the centre of Lille"
DiS_11, 16 Juillet 2023

A lovely hotel located in the heart of Lille, The bedrooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and all at a very reasonable price. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

"Great location and great staff"
winterboy, 11 Juillet 2023

We travelled on Eurostar and the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Europe Lille station and it is also only a short walk into the old town and other attractions in the lovely city of Lille. We stayed in a prestige room which was great and had some unexpected touches which was snacks and drinks in the complimentary mini bar. The best part of our stay though were the staff who were so helpful, friendly and efficient. Thank you so much Boa Hotel

"Comfortable hotel, excellent customer service"
wombleflier, 11 Juillet 2023

My partner and I just spent three days in Lille staying at the Boa. Firstly it is a very easy walk from Lille Europe Station - no more than 10 minutes and is located within minutes from the Grand Place so all in all a perfect location. We had a very friendly and helpful welcome when we arrived. The lady on reception was engaging and full of information. When we mentioned we had reservations at a nearby restaurant for that evening she asked what sort of food we liked and made some suggestions for the next two nights. She suggested, for typically local food, that we try one of L'Estaminet in Rue de Gand which we did. It was spot on so we went to another one on the following evening. The room was typically small for a city hotel but more than adequate, comfortable king size bed and pillows, the complimentary mini bar was a nice touch and we opted for the "go green" option which meant we only had basic housekeeping, no change of towels or bedding (which is absolutely fine for 3 nights) and in exchange we were given tokens for a free drink at the bar on each evening. A really good incentive. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend the Boa and hope to go back ourselves next time we visit Lille

"Great location, clean & friendly"
JKJK1234, 24 Juin 2023

Fantastic location! This was an easy walk (with luggage!) from the train station and just steps away from the square, shops, and restaurants. The front desk staff was pleasant and very helpful. The room was tight for a family of four, but that's not unusual in Europe and it did not bother us at all. The bathroom was very spacious and we were able to move around just fine during our 2-night stay. The room was clean and the complimentary mini bar had water, a Coca-Cola, and Perrier available for us. We didn't buy the breakfast in the lobby but it offered a variety of different foods - they kindly made me an iced latte upon request for just a few Euros. We would visit again - recommended!

"Good hotel, great service"
Milady2812, 15 Janvier 2023

Stayed at the Boa hotel in room 505. Room was spacious, clean and bed was super comfy. Staff were attentive, always willing to help and very friendly. Breakfast was tasty with a good variety of dishes. The only negative: the pressure in the shower was almost non existent. Will definitely stay here again.

"New hotel lacked in some areas "
Shandylincs, 12 Décembre 2022

Lovely hotel but lacked in some areas. Room on 5th floor wasn't as clean as I would have hoped. There was dust on the floor and hairs on back of the bathroom door. We asked not to be cleaned on second day. Mini bar not replenished no free drink at bar. So that needs to be better managed. The shower cubicle had nowhere to put your soap shampoo etc. The breakfast room was extremely squashed with no room between tables, we are not small and we struggled to squeeze in. The breakfast was nice.

"Well worth a visit"
Pushkin_13, 27 Novembre 2022

Nice comfortable room right in the city centre. Good breakfast, Friendly helpful staff. I liked the idea that if you didn't have your room cleaned you got a free drink of you choice at the bar Good secure parking very near to the hotel Would certainly use this hotel again if I have to go to Lille.

"Excellent city center hotel with amazing staff and spacious room with excellent breakfast !"
Karl W, 04 Novembre 2022

Absolutely loved this hotel ! The staff were incredible ! We arrived around 8pm and the closest car park was full . Not a problem because the check in desk found us another car park 1 block away. Room and bathroom were very spacious for a city center hotel ! Breakfast was exceptional with the most amazing breads and fresh made jams ! Breakfast staff was also amazing ! Would definitely stay here again

"Lovely city centre hotel for our overnight stop"
qwertyPhilly, 14 Août 2022

What a fabulous find. Helpful reception staff, hotel is well located, room very nice with a huge comfortable bed, nice bathroom, lovely toiletries, some complementary drinks in the mini bar. The hotel is well located too. We drove and unfortunately our car was too high for the underground parking (1m90) but managed to find parking on the street which is free after 7pm on Saturdays until Monday morning (expensive before then). Overall, couldn't have hoped for better. Thanks !

"3 day cititrip Lille"
joostwaeterloos, 09 Août 2022

A most wonderful boutique hotel recentlt redecorated. The location is very good and the hotel has access to a parking facility to drop of the car. It's located a walking distance from any and everything. The hotel has a real cosy vibe, staff is extremely friendly and customer oriented. Rooms are good size with great comfort, Nice bar with good selection of drinks and a small lunch selection. Many small bistros and high end restaurants nearby.

This exceeded my expectations, a really lovely place to stay. Quiet. Spotlessly clean. Great sized room and very comfortable bed. Staff were just lovely, friendly and Always remembered my name. I truly can't fault this place. A gem

"Could be better"
91ottoe, 17 Avril 2022

Stayed here for almost a week and had different expectations. Cleaning is done by 1800 which is a bit late if you're here for work and finish around that time, not really cleaned and cannot walk feet free as the floor is never properly cleaned, towels are a bit old and ripped easily while drying. Reception-except the night team and the morning lady, was all really awkward and didn't make me feel fully welcome(reason why i changed hotel and moved to another one close by). Room-was a bit small for Lille standards. Breakfast-it was not the same everyday, days where it was good and other where it was average,Lots of choices except Salmon.

"Great stay in Lille"
bronx1923, 19 Mars 2022

Hotel is in the centre of Lille, walking distance from everything. We stayed in the prestige room, which was very nice. Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. We would definitely stay here again. Merci.

"Unprofessional"
O1956IIfrancescam, 11 Juillet 2020

We booked a room through a website that we discovered been a scam when we arrived at the hotel. Very very annoying, but what is even worse is to deal with a receptionist that treats you like if you are trying to steal money from her, even when you are holding a 17 months boy tired from the 7 hours journey! We had to book a room in a other hotel and the staff didn't care about our problem. Just very annoyed to have been scammed and have someone in front of you with this attitude. A part from that, not the best place to be with kids, the area is very dirty and noisy.

"Very comfortable and modern hotel "
mme_winky, 19 Juillet 2019

Pros: -extremely comfortable beds -very quiet room -super plush towels -Occitane bathroom products -in-room safe -ultra modern -super close to the train station Cons: -somewhat seedy street -limited parking -pricey bar

"Cosy room in a great location"
tigerteege, 25 Juin 2019

Stayed here on a short break in Lille. Arrived via Eurostar at EuraLille, a short walk away. Walked through the park, which had some interesting characters in it, and some cobbles, which weren't great for the suitcase - if you arrive at EuraLille, I'd say to go the slightly longer way round as the pavements are flatter. The hotel itself is very nice. The staff have some English, but it would be worth learning a few key phrases of French at least before you go. The room was clean and nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable and the curtains were good so we got good sleep. The shower had good pressure. The location is close to lots of nice bars and restaurants, the design district and boutiques are not far away, and there is a convenience store a few doors down for buying essentials. All in all, it was a great base from which to explore Lille.

"More 3 than 4 stars"
janellem712, 11 Juin 2019

Good location near central, however on quite a sketchy street. Drug dealers and sex workers were not what we expected to see right across the road. Comfortable bed & good shower. Tip - request top floor. Between rooms the floors are paper thin so you can hear every footstep and movement above you.

"A Little Gem"
StooDee, 06 Mai 2019

We had only one night here on a mini break via Eurostar to Lille and Brussels. The location is perfect, a short walk from both train stations, in the older part of the city. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room on the 5th floor. Although compact, the room was immaculately clean, had everything we required, and made excellent use of the space available. The bed and pillows were very comfy, and the room quiet. Breakfast is set out in the bar area at the front of the hotel, with very stylish Villeroy & Bosch china. The lady in charge was friendly & efficient, greeting everyone & keeping the buffet items topped up. We located a cute little restaurant a few paces away for our evening meal. Delicious!

"Perfect location"
trav4go2, 16 Avril 2019

Stayed for 1 night enroute to Belguim and was very impressed. The hotel, while compact, makes great use of its available space. It is a stones throw to the main train station and there are multiple restaurants within a short walk. While there were a few small English language issues, the reception staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room on first floor facing the street, had everything you could possibly want in a hotel room and more. The beds were very comfortable as was the lounge suite, and everything was polished, clean and well presented. There was a 'Japanese style' blind on the window which meant you could see outside while having a shower and potentially vice versa which was a little daunting. Corridors and the staircase are quite narrow, but that added to the charm. We didnt try the breakfast however it seemed to be popular and doing a roaring trade. Given its proximity to everything in central Lille, and the amenitities provided, I really wished we had stayed for couple of days to really appreciate it. Highly recommend.

"Excellent location "
lindalP5647ZT, 07 Avril 2019

Warm welcome from the young receptionist Marie. The hotel has an excellent location in the centre of Lille and only 10 mins walk from Lille Europe. The rooms are newly furnished in modern decoration. Tea, fresh coffee maker and water supplied.

"A comfortable hotel in the centre of Lille"
John S, 16 Janvier 2019

This hotel provides very comfortable rooms - spacious with an excellent bathroom and toiletries, large modern TV and very comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking nearby but book before you go. The hotel is close to the rail stations, the Grand Place and the old town so it is very convenient for sight seeing.

"Excellent"

I always prefer to stay in Best Western hotels. Best service, good breakfast, clean rooms.I like the beds, rooms layout, and the services. Water and coffee are available, bathrooms are ready, clean and comfortable

"Perfect hotel"
mightyhorns, 29 Octobre 2018

This is a perfect small hotel. We stayed for three nights and were pleasantly surprised. It is about a 5 min stroll from the Grand Place, main square. The hotel is tucked away from the noise of the city When we arrived the staff were super friendly and informative. They provided us with a city map and the best places to see and eat. We drove and there is no parking onsite. We were advised by the hotel to park in the car park opera. Again about a 5 min stroll and €14 a day. You can park outside for a short time to unload cases etc. The bar is nice and cosy and the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and more than good enough for a city break. You won't be disappointed with this hotel. We didn't have breakfast as we thought €16 each was a lot. There are plenty of places to eat nearby.

"Unprofessional staff"
CM-and-WV, 28 Octobre 2018

We got a room on the ground floor (001) which only opened to a small light well, making it quite dark. The furnishing of the bedroom was ok, but the small bathroom had an open shower, meaning that one can not avoid that all toiletries that are stalled in the bathroom, included the toilet and toilet paper, are drowned after using it. When we complained at the desk the next morning, we were told that we should have asked for a better room the previous evening - sounding as if it was our fault to be so stupid ...Communication was limited, as the two clerks at the desk spoke French only. One of them was a trainee who had seemingly just started.

"Near the Gares"
cervelogoldcoast, 27 Octobre 2018

This hotel is perfectly located if you are arriving by train as it is 5 minutes walking from the Gare Lille Flandres (where we arrived) and 10 minutes walking from the Gare de Lille Europe. And it is perfectly located for restaurants and attractions. The staff were very polite and efficient, the room we had could not be faulted; and in all a great experience for us. We had 3 great nights there so we had time to soak up the atmosphere. And if you re use your towels there is the incentive of a free drink each!!!

"Only sorry our stay wasn't longer"
Smileynev, 30 Septembre 2018

We stayed here for two nights and the only bad thing about it was having to leave. We were more than happy with our room (303) and found the staff courteous and helpful. We thought the breakfast was slightly expensive at €16 per head but there were plenty of other places nearby to eat nearby as an alternative to eating in the hotel.. That said, we really enjoyed the breakfast on both mornings and it was so filling and delicious that we didn't need to eat again until the evening. We'd particularly like to praise Marie (l'apprenti) on reception. She coped excellently with these two non French speakers and HAS to be rewarded with full employment and a big pay rise.

"Wonderful weekend in Lille"
AndrewH6722, 23 Septembre 2018

We were a group of 6 ladies staying here for a couple of nights. The hotel was clean and very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is only 5 minutes from Eurostar and 5 minutes from the old town. We had a great time.

"What a horrible hotel and staff!"
SOTB1, 08 Septembre 2018

Best Western Plus Up Hotel & Bar , 17 Place des Reignaux, Lille, Hauts-de-France, FR What a huge disappointment for our 25th Anniversary, terrible stay! We stayed here for 2 nights and I must say we were so disappointed with this Hotel. We were travelling for our 25th Anniversary and as we arrived, we were told we had to move our car out of a certain boundary due to a festival in town. You can imagine our shock, what festival? And we listened to the Front Desk Staff tell this same story to guests after guests, it was clear no communication about this huge event was communicated to guests staying at this Hotel. How did this happen? We paid over $400 per night for this Hotel, and at these prices, I had certain expectations. I called the hotel a week prior to confirm our reservation and I did indeed speak with a person at the Hotel, as I wanted to ensure our reservations were intact and that we wouldn't arrive with any surprises. I did this for all our hotels for our 10 day trip of Europe. This was our first trip and last trip to Europe! We used points for both nights, which meant 2 different reservations. I inquired about connecting the two reservations to ensure we wouldn't haven't to change rooms or that we would be checked out of our room. The person on the phone found the 2 reservations and assured me he made an update in the system. Apparently the town of Lille was hosting the largest 2 day flea market in Europe the weekend we arrived, and no warning from the Hotel. After a day of driving from Caen, we were given a map of the town and shown the boundaries (15 ~ 20 city blocks) and was shown where we could and could not park. We put our luggage into our room, put on our Do Not Disturb and headed out to move our car, late at night and in the dark, yes also in a town we knew nothing about. We found a parking garage and parked our car. We soon discovered, no cars meant no taxis either! Called multiple taxi companies and where told “not possible”?? So at 12 midnight, two people, in an unknown European town walked for 25 mins, stopped at multiple barricades by I would assume to be city workers in high visibility vests supported by either police or paramilitary, all dressed in black carrying military rifles. That's just crazy, and so incredibly unsafe. We got back to our Hotel room to find someone had been in the room. I had mentioned we would need more towels, but we could get them from her later when we get back. Remember the DND sign on our door, this was the first time it was not honoured. The music, yelling and screaming was so loud that we could her it on the 5th floor at the back of the building! The music and booming bass could be heard and yes, felt in our room. I inquired about cancelling and going elsewhere, she informed me that I would lose my money, it was too late to cancel, but I could cancel tomorrow, lol, what a disaster, happy anniversary honey! I had requested an iron and ironing board, it wasn't in the room, no biggie right, well the mistakes just kept adding up. The next day with next to no sleep, we proceeded into a crowd of people at 7:30 am, to look for a spot for breakfast since the hotel breakfast was very basic. OMG it was horrible. The crowds of people, the streets were filled with garbage and the smell of urine! We came back to our Hotel after Breakfast to head out for our Day at Vimy Ridge. The DND sign was still up. We came back to from our day to discover our room card didn't work, no they 2 reservations were obviously not connected which had been indicated it was done a week ago over the phone. Housekeeping had been in our room!! They had moved my sleepwear and made the bed up, and while my camera batteries were charging, took our room card out of the room power slot. Such a personal violation, coming in and moving my personal stuff and taking our room card, ok it's the hotel room card but to take something that was ours out of our room, is that stealing? I proceeded once again to the Front Desk and inquired why someone was in our room while the DND was up, they told me that DND doesn't apply in France. Seriously, DND doesn't apply in France, funny it worked just fine at the Le Royal Monceau in Paris, just a few days prior!! Then we discovered that this hotel was hosting, yes hosting an event for the Festival. The front desk staff were working the event. The large crowds were now at our hotel and the music was booming outside our lobby til they said 1:30 am officially but it was “3:00 am”, and their café/lobby area was full, omg, it's just can't get any worse, drunk and stoned people were everywhere, and getting to the elevator was a challenge. Did you know they pee wherever they want, yes, Men and Women, just randomly pee!. Apparently paying to use a washroom isn't something they like to do. The Hotel has no control what was going on our 2nd night, the party was supposed to be outside, not inside, smoking in the hotel, in the hallways. We ended up putting wet towels along the door inside our room to stop the smoke from coming in. I guess there were guests partying on the 5th floor, not sure where all of the cigarette smoke was coming from. Our safety had been compromised both nights by this Hotel, inside and outside the hotel. The communication to their guests was non-existent. Needless to say we will never stay at a Best Western again. If I could have gone home and left Europe that night I would have! I don't think the Staff at this particular Best Western are familiar with the chain's vision statement We strive to provide the highest levels of service to Best Western® hotels and to their guests with integrity and honesty such that brand loyalty continues to thrive. To achieve this vision, Best Western International has adopted the following core values: Excellence in quality and service.

"Great location"
lmelb, 22 Août 2018

Stayed here for a couple of nights and it was a great location. The train stations & Ouibus stop were all handy. Close proximity to shops & restaurants. We found the room very small especially when travelling with a large suitcase each. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. We found it difficult at times communicating with staff as we don't speak French.

"Great location and room"
680brookes, 11 Août 2018

Right downtown. Close to two traIn stations and local metros. Easy walking to sites and restaurants. Helpful staff for transit and things to see.English good as we didn't speak french. Room good size for two.

"Pleasant stay indeed"
James W, 10 Août 2018

This hotel is in a perfect location to explore Lille particularly if arrive by train. It's no more than 200yards from Gare Dr Flandres. The room was small but more than sufficient for our needs. Lovely comfy bed, excellent shower n good size TV. Would definitely stay again if in Lille. Didn't try the breakfast but I noticed that it had won awards for it's breakfast. An ideal stopover hotel.

"Not the BEST Western we have stayed in !"
Hotelius_Inspector, 05 Août 2018

Stayed in a family room (ground floor rear) which was infact a disabled one. Room was not ready for check in time at 2pm & was eventually ready 4 1/2hrs later !! Bathroom smelled strongly of sewerage all the time. It has a wet bathroom so every time the shower is used it wets not only the toilet seat but also the whole floor which is wet & a slip hazard for children. Noisy hotel - coukd hear hotel telephone ringing and doors banging during night & early morning. T.V. didn't have a remote control & air conditioning only works on one 'low fan' setting & cannot be increased. Beggars outside front of hotel constantly hassling you for money when going to/from car and bins right outside front with pungent smells of drains. On the positive side staff are very friendly & very helpful and hotel is clean. Hotel well positioned for city centre.

"Very Memorable "
mgiIreland, 03 Août 2018

Fabulous hotel, great location, very comfortable beds and clean rooms. The staff here are excellent. Always pleasant, friendly, welcoming & helpful. Stayed 4 nights here with my teenage daughter and we both thoroughly enjoyed it....loved the local beer also...Huge thank you to all the staff here for making our stay memorable. Would definitely return ....highly recommend

"Very nice stay"
Fernando Q, 19 Juillet 2018

Staff super friendly, very convenient location near flanders station on old lille / centrum. Room is somewhat small for a family (good for 2), but beds are very confortable. We had Great stay overall. Thanks !!

"Boutique style hotel in a good location"
FVC, 15 Juillet 2018

Located approximately 500 metres from the main square, great hotel to explore Lille from. Upon arrival outside of the hotel, slightly concerning there were quite a few people hustling for money and didn't feel entirely safe. Happy to say they moved on and didn't see them again. Quick check in with a friendly receptionist, she didn't speak much English and I don't speak much French but we managed, We had room 103 and I now see from an earlier post there have been issues with this room. However, it didn't smell and when the window was shut there wasn't any outside noise, however, the air conditioning didn't work making the room exceptionally hot. I did raise with reception but we were just given a fan, marginal improvement but in 30c heat it's just not enough. In addition with the wooden floors and guest above walking around in shoes it was noisy. Try to have a room on a higher floor. Nice bar, not too busy but good to have a quick evening drink. Make sure if arriving with a car, a reservation is made in the car park. There are spaces outside the front of the hotel, but I didn't see one empty during our stay. Car park is a small walk from the hotel but worth it. Overall a pleasant stay.

"Excellent location lovely hotel"
frog1952, 09 Juillet 2018

We were visiting Lille with another couple and booked two double rooms. The hotel is a small modern boutique hotel which is extremely clean with welcoming and helpful staff who gave us good advice on places to eat. Rooms were not large but perfectly adequate and extremely comfortable for our two nights stay. Lovely bathrooms, excellent shower and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was good with a good assortment to suit most tastes. The bar was a lovely place to return to for a drink after an evening out.The location was perfect with easy access to the old town. We booked secure parking which was only fifty meters from the hotel. This hotel is definite recommendation if visiting Lille.

"Great location, good price"
lilfrog, 04 Juillet 2018

The air conditioning in the room didn't work, but the clerk was happy to move us to another room. This second room had a terrible smell--so--he moved us to the third room. The air conditioning worked well enough to keep us pretty comfortable, but it definitely wasn't air conditioning by American standards. The room was spacious enough for the 4 of us and the bathroom was very roomy. Staff was friendly and spoke English. Close enough to walk to the train station and other restaurants.

"Nice but extremely warm room"
DianaMathias, 03 Juillet 2018

I specially made sure to book a hotel with air conditioning because of the time of the year. But the air condition in my room did not work and they couldn't fix it during my stay. The room got extremely warm and it was impossible to sleep. No other rooms were available so changing was not an option either... The breakfast room was however very warm too so I'm not sure their air condition is very effective...

"Ideal Location For Train Travellers"
Recycle1, 18 Mai 2018

We were visiting the region before travelling to Basel to catch our river cruise. The main reason for our stay was to visit the Canadian and other allied monuments associated with WW1. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Gare Flandres and another 5 minutes to Gare Europe. There are car rental locations in Gare Flandres and the hotel arranges for parking (extra cost) at a garage a couple of blocks away. The 5 story hotel is quite small (as are the rooms), but clean, and the staff are friendly. There is a small bar on the main floor where they serve breakfast and small meals. We preferred to check out the many pastry shops in Lille however!

"Great location "
sholea1, 11 Mai 2018

Nice small hotel. 4 of us shared a room the double bed is huge and double sofa bed is a good size too. Lovely spacious bathroom with shower and hairdryer. Toiletries are supplied. Put room also had tea:coffee machine. Buffet breakfast was good bread, pastries, cereals, cold meat, fruit, yogurt, eggs, sausage, bacon and variety of hot and cold drinks. Rooms cleaned daily.

"Too smelly and hot, but a great bar man"
Nicky D, 13 Avril 2018

We had to extend our stay at Lille on the 4 - 5th April due to the rail strike in France. We had to book a family room for the extra one night only; as the hotel we were staying in already did not have availability for the extra night. We found this hotel, which had reasonable reviews. When we moved from a very lovely hotel to Hotel Up Lille, it looked fine, only our room was on a ground floor level (room 1), with it's window opening onto a tiny courtyard, heavily loaded with vents and aircon. units from all the buildings forming this courtyard. Barely any day light was getting into the room, it was hot, smelly from the locality of the hotel's kitchen, literally next door, and, which for me was the worst thing, terrible smell of drains in the room. We had to ask for some air freshener - it was unbearable. The whole sensation was of moving into a smelly, stuffy cellar. I was very upset and wanted to approach the reception to ask them to move us. My husband told me that as it was the only room available and it was only for one night - we would be ok. We spent most of the time out and about, but despite that, due to the room location, lack of ventilation, smelly drains in the wet room, leaking shower head, not being able to open the window all night due to a very noisy air-conditioning units and extractor fans from practically every building that created that tiny courtyard, we all had a terrible night's sleep. And all this discomfort in a tiny family room, where 3 of us could barely move around was at a pricy charge of over EUR 208 per room per night, not even including breakfast! The only reason I gave this a higher review than terrible was because the staff were pleasant, especially the bar attendant that night who was fantastic! He was so calm and nice and knowledgeable about the food and wine he served. He was ACE! A total asset to this hotel. Another positive - decent deco, but only one pillow! "Good hotel location and facilities"
Fiona S, 12 Mars 2018

Stayed for one night here in March, we had room 103 on first floor. The room was small, but roomy enough for 2. Nice decor, and clean and well maintained. Bathroom was lovely with good shower. The reception were very helpful and check in and out was quick. We didn't have breakfast or use the bar as there was so much kuch choice nearby for both. The only issue which gave it 4 instead of 5, was the smell of smoke in the room. Unfortunately room 103 is directly above the entrance to the hotel, so guests smoke right beneath the room. You could smell smoke when we entered the room, but this got much worse when we opened the window as the room was quite hot. Apart from this, a nice hotel, and I'm sure rooms at the back wouldn't suffer this problem.

"Nice stay!"
etali306890, 08 Mars 2018

Staff was really friendly and welcoming. When I booked on booking.com I accidentally booked 2 rooms instead of 1 and the hotel was really helping and corrected my mistake without charge. The room was clean and comfy. The only thing that bothered a bit was that the room was too small for 3 persons. The sleeping bed blocked the pathway a bit. Besides this, great location, staff and price!

"Cosy Little Hotel - Near All The Sights"
Titus80, 06 Mars 2018

This a great little hotel in Lille. We stayed for a weekend break and was delighted with our choice. The room was small but cosy - we had a double bed and a sofa bed which took most of the room. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. the room had a Nespresso machine, radio with an iPhone/iPod dock, and a safe. The bathroom was quite large, clean and modern with complimentary L'occitane toiletries. the hotel had a bar which doubled up as the breakfast room. Breakfast had a limited choice of cold meats, fruit, cheese and bread but it was nice and did the job. There is very limited parking on the road but there are 2 large car parks nearby which only cost about 27Euros for two nights stay (parked underneath Lille train station). The only negative about the hotel is that there were a lot of beggars (including kids) outside the hotel - they were not aggressive or rude but annoying as they did not seem to be "genuine". Apart from this minor issue, which the hotel has not control over, the hotel is in a great location. It is off the main road so not very busy with traffic or people but is only 2 minutes' walk from the main train station, a modern and large shopping centre and about 5-10minutes walk from most of the tourist attractions (Grand Place, Place Du Theatre, Beffroi de Lille). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this lovely hotel.

"Funky Boutique Hotel"
LeylandAtlantean, 26 Février 2018

Location is spot on. 2 minutes from Gare Flandres and at most 5 minutes from the Grand Place. Lots of bars and restaurants very close by. Staff were friendly both on reception and in the restaurant/bar. It is a tall narrow hotel. I guess about 30 rooms so not too big. The room was narrow but plenty big enough. The bad was lovely. Decent cotton and comfortable mattress and duvet. The room as quiet, even though I was on the front of the hotel and slept well. Decent shower room with a good shower. Decoration was funky - lamps shades of sequins, etc. The bar and breakfast were fine. They served a couple of decent beers and had a pleasant relaxed breakfast. Recommend - Yes!

"Still here !"
BerryKing, 20 Janvier 2018

For a city break this place is spot on. The staff are engaging and friendly, the rooms are beautifully lit and very quiet and its a very short walk to the sights and restaurants. Coffee maker, i-pod dock and a very comfy bed - what more could you want :-). Would stay here on business as well

"Great location for a weekend break"
alicep1375, 19 Décembre 2017

Lovely hotel in the heart of Lille. A short walk away from the train station, squares and restaurants. The room was spacious and had a lovely comfy bed and big bathroom (radiator came in handy for drying our snowy clothes!). The reception staff were very helpful and polite. Parking near by at Opera for a reasonable amount for the weekend (approx 28 euros for sat-mon). The breakfast was lovely and the local food was tasty. Would definitely recommend!

"Perfect for short stay"
janicet137, 11 Décembre 2017

Hotel is in a great position in the centre of Lille, close to both the Eurostar terminal and all sights and amenities. The hotel was very nice, clean and had more than enough in terms of room facilities. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we couldn't have wished for a better place to stay.

"Great location and super team behind reception and the bar."
Derek L, 08 Décembre 2017

This hotel was great. It was less than 10 minutes walk from the station and really easy to find. It was also less than 2 minutes walk from the centre of the town. The reception team and the bar staff were really friendly and efficient. Our room was super and very comfortable and clean. Big bathroom. We didn't take the breakfast but only because we don't eat much for breakfast and what was on offer was just too much for us. Comfortable bar and some interesting beers. Loved it. If back in Lille we will stay here again.

"Good modern central Hotel"
DerekT23, 16 Novembre 2017

Stayed for three nights at Best Western Plus Up travelling by Eurostar, The Hotel is only 7/8 minute walk from the Eurostar station, we arrived about an hour before the 2pm check in, but were able to leave our luggage, also the lady on reception was extremely helpful in giving us a map as we had not previously visited Lille she also pointed out areas of interest and restaurant locations which were very helpful and turned out to be within walking distance of the Hotel. On return we were allocated Room 501 which whilst not being large was more than adequate, clean with modern decor and a large comfortable bed, the bathroom had a large shower and complementary toiletries (no Bath) Small bottle of water was provided each day as was replenishment of the Nespresso coffee pods, you could also use it for hot water to make tea, but the cups supplied were on the small side. We had breakfast included which for France was excellent, fresh OJ, bread, pastries, cereal, cold meats/cheese as well as some hot bacon, scrambled egg etc Large flat screen TV in the room, but we could only locate CNN News from USA in English which whilst we did not spend a great deal of time in the room was little surprising as UK visitors we understood were commonplace therefore Sky news would have been nice. WFI worked well on the top floor, The hotel as a ‘Go Green' housekeeping option for guests, provides bed making / essential replenishments as opposed to a full service make up, i.e. towels etc. If you take this option you receive a token for a free drink at the bar, however the restrictions on type of drink etc could be better explained.

"Spoiled by our spacious room"
milklover, 24 Octobre 2017

Our stay here totally spoiled us for the rest of our trip in France. Our room was absolutely gorgeous! We were extremely surprised at how spacious it was for Europe! We had a bed, sofa, a little closet area, and a huge bathroom! Everything was bright and well lit, which was very inviting. The ipod/iphone plug in on the clock made for excellent speakers, and the towel warmers were great for drying clothes we needed to have washed (as a bonus, easily operable too with a simple dial). To top it off, check out times were late to let us sleep in and enjoy our room and comfy bed even longer the next morning. It was walking distance to both train stations and the Eurolille mall, so we were in no rush at all to head out!

"Very Nice Hotel with Excellent Staff"
aa82175, 21 Octobre 2017

Hotel is located very close to the Lille Flandres train station (3 minute walk) and not far from the Lille Europe train station (10 minute walk). Room was decent size, very clean, and fairly modern. Shower in the bathroom was fantastic - great water pressure with both a "rain style" overhead shower head plus a removable hand-held shower head. Room had fairly large flat screen TV (around 42 inch screen) with an adequate number of channels. When window was closed the room was very quiet. Although the room was nice, the best part of my stay was the staff. I worked extensively with Thomas. He was very knowledgeable about the Lille area and was able to recommend several interesting places to visit based on my interests. One of the things I like to do when I visit a foreign country is purchase bicycle jerseys that are not available in the USA. When Thomas found out about this, he took it upon himself to map out all of the bicycle shops within walking distance of the hotel for me. He even called the bicycle shops to verify that they sold bicycle jerseys. I was thoroughly impressed by Thomas' work and his interest in helping me. He definitely went above and beyond my expectations.

"Must Stay - Amazing Breakfast and Modern Room"
Angela C, 29 Août 2017

Very modern and nicely decorated room with L'Occitane toiletries, Nespresso pod coffee machine, safe and big beds (king size and double sofa bed). Stayed with 2 friends. Beds take over the room but room is nice enough so makes up for it and the bathroom is very big. Breakfast is on another level - Such an amazing breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh chopped fruit, fresh caffetiere coffee, the most amazingly seasoned tomatoes I have tasted. They also had bacon, sausages and the usual patisseries. The host was more than welcome to help us and offer us assistance. Hard working staff - The lady on nights was manning the front desk, helping us with the wifi when we called and went downstairs for assistance. The guy who checked us in was also the person who helped us with breakfast. Very polite staff. Free parking outside on a Sunday. Faultless and no complaints.

"Great hotel!"
BernAndLin, 29 Août 2017

lovely hotel - fabulous interior and unique well maintained rooms - real comfort. Small bar downstairs - parking on street available of for 14 Euros for 12+ hours at 'Opera Parking' 300 metres away. We stayed here after a weeks camping - luxury was needed and ideal stop over before getting the tunnel back.

"Only positive thing is the location and staff"
1krima, 28 Août 2017

Room way too small for a family of 4. Room felt like a cave. Very hot (could not turn airco on because it makes the kids sick). Bathroom was had a leaking douche. Also very outdated. Very loud bar. Kept us awake till 2 in the morning. And thats what they call a quiet room. Not worth the money. And eve though they use the name luxury in the description of the room, there is absolutely nothing luxurious about the room. Glad i was most of the time outside.

"Ideal place to stay in Lille"
LoFlyaNZ, 18 Août 2017

The hotel is literally on Gare de St Jean doorstep - 100 meters at most - but in a quiet street. The beds were big and comfortable and the bathrooms modern and spacious. There is a bar which doubles as the breakfast room. Staff were friendly and the rates were very reasonable. Wifi was pretty good too,

"Great stay"
familytrip22014, 15 Août 2017

This is a small but nice hotel just a block away from the center of town. Perfect for a family. The staff was so nice and accommodating. The rooms are clean, and newly decorated. Lille is a great place to visit - when we go back, we will stay there again.

"Central, friendly, clean"
sherpajacob, 15 Août 2017

Central Hotel. Walking distance to both railway stations and old town Clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast Wifi worked very well Family room had large bathroom Staff very friendly and helpful Limited parking outside, but secure parking nearby 16 euros per day. arrange through the hotel.

"very good stay"
erik z, 26 Juillet 2017

very nice hotel, good rooms, in the center of the city. rooms slightly on the smaller side, as is the restaurant ( morning breakfast a bit cramped) . staff is extremely kind and nice, special thanks and recognition to the very kind and nice Amandine - merci de toute votre aide et patience!

"Great 5 stars hotel in Lille"
ahmedaN5468CM, 25 Juillet 2017

Very clean , comfort and great location less than a 5 mins to any where in Lille center . Staff is amazing and very helpful they can help and guide you with anything you want. The extra bed was nice and very comfortable. Ahmed

"great location"
msergi, 19 Juillet 2017

very friendly staff and helpful. The room was booked as a "triple superior" designed for three people. We could barely turn around. It was quite small and two people would probably have trouble moving. The location was ideal and we used it as a base to travel to WWI sites in France and Belgium. Clean rooms, just very small.

"Great location"
msergi_569849, 19 Juillet 2017

room was billed as a "Triple Superior" but was incredibly small for three people. It was clean and the staff was quite friendly. Location is great- near all major attractions. Parking was also convenient-- a deck was right around the corner

"good place to stay in Lille"
Yingxi S, 03 Juillet 2017

The room is small but everything is clean and neat. They all function well. The front desk is helpful. Internet is mostly available. The location is very nice that close to both stations. The only complains are there is no fridge and I can hear people walking upstairs.

"Lovely hotel, great location!"
Claire C, 01 Juillet 2017

Highly recommend this hotel. Staff were very friendly, hotel was clean and well presented. Our room was lovely and it was an easy walk from the Eurostar station and close to the city centre. Only minor gripe was that the breakfast was expensive but it was easy enough to go out and pick up a croissant!

"Centrally placed, nice rooms, helpful staff."
asquaredb, 24 Juin 2017

We stayed for two nights (Tues & Wed) and my only real gripe was the large increase on price for the Wednesday night. Weekends are much cheaper. We had room 1 which was on the ground floor and conveniently next to a smoking area which for an insomniac like me was very useful. Street parking nearby is available at a price and if no immediate spot vacant just hang about for a few minutes. If you do not have your room made up you get vouchers to spend in the bar - what a sensible idea.

"Great little Gem!"
ElaineS2013, 29 Mai 2017

Super little hotel! Great location, spotlessly cleaned, fabulous complementary products. Amazing breakfast and helpful staff. Bijou and brilliant! 10 minute walk from Eurostar station and 2 minutes from the Old Town! Perfect! Will definately be back. Highly recommended!

"A little hidden gem"
Roger C, 18 Mai 2017

A last minute business trip and I selected this hotel as it was an easy walk from the Eurostar and situated on the edge of the old town. I was a little concerned when booking as the hotel looks very small, well that is the benefit, it is a small hotel but that is the only small part, the rooms are very comfortable, and with only a few per floor, it is pretty quiet too. The staff are fantastic, very attentive to your every need, the bar is great for a relaxing beer and then a short walk to the busy town streets - busy with people and so much to see.

"Ticks all the boxes!"
dandave, 06 Mai 2017

This hotel is within 100 yards from the train stations (Flandres) and 200 yards (Europa). The area is quiet and clsoe to all the main central attractions. It is modernly furnished and while the rooms are on the small side they cater for all needs right down to an upmarket espresso machine. The beds are very comfortable, the towels are as good as any 5 star hotel in quality while the L'Occitane soaps/shampoos etc are a little luxury. The staff are so willing to help and went to great lengths to find a phone charger and adapter which we left behind but which we collected a few days later. Wifi is free and good quality.

"Great hotel"
ria709, 02 Mai 2017

Very clean and nice hotel . Comfortable rooms with good bed. Breakfast was super ! tip : take the package Discover Lille (2 nights) : drink at the bar (own choice, even champagne is possible), twice buffet breakfast and 2-hour walk with guide in Vieux Lille).

"business travel but pretty good"
jonmckennawait, 26 Avril 2017

stayed here for 2 nights on business as my usual hotel was booked and I was presently surprised. The room I had 205 was very nice and spacious with everything you could need much better than some places I have stayed. The bar and reception were nice to relax and have a beer. Staff were very helpful nothing was a problem The only negative was the food on room service was not great but then there are plenty of places to eat out

"weekend Lille"
jact533, 21 Avril 2017

while visiting lille for a short weekend break, we have found a very clean and nice hotel with superb friendly and helpful girls at reception desk ! we will absolutely come back to Lille another time in the not so far future.

"Family city visit"
sawalou, 18 Avril 2017

We stayed at the hotel for a night as the final day of our journey back from a holiday in Italy and to see Lille. Lovely comfortable rooms, friendly staff and excellent central location. Parking in the city is difficult and the hotel had parking available too

"Just the ticket "
NicolaBK, 17 Avril 2017

I stayed here for three nights over Easter with my husband and I have absolutely no complaints. Good location, real close to the station, a 10 minute walk max. Close to all the main sites and an easy walk to the heart of the lovely old town. The streets are a little seedy around the hotel but not a problem. I plumped for superior room (302) and it was great. Well equipped and spacious. All good.

"Stay here, you won't regret it!"
cindy283, 17 Avril 2017

Great location and staff. No need for taxis as everything is within walking distance - Eurostar and city centre. Also, great breakfast which runs until noon at the weekend so you can have a lie in! We will return.

"Excellent location hotel"
806ian, 04 Mars 2017

Spent 1 night in Lille for a 24 hour short break with the family via Eurostar. Brilliant location hotel close to station and town centre. Good spread of breakfast available. Very helpful staff. Recommended .

"Great find in Lille"
Sue V, 13 Février 2017

Perfectly placed hotel, central to all the local facilities of Lille centre. Short walk from Eurostar station and in a quieter back street slightly away from the hub bub but near enough to walk to local attractions, bars, restaurants and shops. Rooms not the biggest but very clean and well equipped and really lovely bathroom. Extremely helpful staff who very promptly sorted out a heating issue in the room. I would definitely stay there again.

"Nice room, quiet location"
daveandsal1978, 29 Janvier 2017

We had a lovely warm and quiet room . . .warm was very important given how cold the weather was. The staff were very nice and there was a good breakfast. The Nespresso machine also enabled us to make cups of tea. We were surprised there was no minibar (though none was advertised), we had got used to French hotels having minibars. Sixteen euros each for the breakfast seemed a little on the expensive side.

"Lille stay"
alfrrdc, 16 Janvier 2017

Nice location with handy early check in. Good breakfast. Good quality. Friendly service in English. Handy for Eurostar and town centre. Quite room with good bathroom and good quality towels and shower gels

"Good location"
skyliem, 15 Janvier 2017

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was quite small, however bathroom was excellent and very large with great double showers.. Nespresso machines in room. Breakfast was continental with a wide variety of pastry, fruit, yoghurt, juice ect, however the cooked section was a bit poor. The bar is the same location as breakfast, didn't see anyone drinking in there.

"Excellent all round"
mdeex_919321, 29 Novembre 2016

Perfectly situated to all the attractions and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful and hotel was exceptionally clean and we liked the attention to details throughout. The breakfast was rather expensive albeit very adequate

"Fab Hotel "
davesouthamptonqpr, 27 Novembre 2016

We took a weekend break in Lille for my birthday. Booked Up Hotel as part of a Xmas market deal with Lille Tourist Office. So pleased. Convenient for train stations and old town, great staff, lovely room with coffee machine and classy toiletries. Breakfast excellent too, although expensive at 16 Euro if not included in deal price. Highly recommend. Lille is a surprisingly great city to visit.

"Okay but...."
steveahis, 26 Novembre 2016

A reasonable hotel that is conveniently located. Our room was clean, adequate but a little small. We had a triple (family) room. Our problem was with the heating. There was no radiator in the room only in the bathroom. Heat came from an overhead vent. It took several hours for it to reach a comfortable temperature. We contacted the staff twice and they did their best to help. One tried to locate a portable fan heater but to no avail. The hotel needs to at least purchase a few for such problems! Water temperature for the shower was perfect but not to the hand basin. Probably due to pressure as we were on the top floor with an additional pump for the shower only. Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection. Staff were good and generally helpful.

"Great hotel in great location for nice price"
Moshe_Kara, 07 Novembre 2016

The UP hotel is located a minute walk from old Lille city center so you can do many of the sightseeing without any transportation. Staff is very helpful. Room was great with comfortable bed, big bathroom and modern design.

"Incompetent Reception Staff"
ScubaDeano, 06 Octobre 2016

Stayed here 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for a disputed bill to be resolved. I booked using Avios points and they use TravelCube as their agents. Checking in was easy enough and we presented the travel voucher. On checking out the receptionist stated the the voucher hadn't been honoured. We were told we had to pay over 200 euros before we could leave. As we had a Eurostar to catch, and there was a queue forming behind us, I had no choice but to hand over my credit card. Complained to Avios when I got back to the UK and 3 weeks later they said the room rate would be refunded by the hotel as it was their mistake (but didn't say when). They also said we had been charged for breakfast(s) and this would not be refunded. We had NOT eaten at the hotel and I'll be contacting my credit card company to get the charges reversed. The whole experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I will be avoiding all 3 companies in future!

"Nice find near the train station"
jv711, 28 Septembre 2016

Needed a place for two nights in Lille and was glad I chose this. Staff were really nice. My room faced the street but noise wasn't an issue (though I was there on weeknights, not weekends). It's about two blocks from the train stations and as with many towns that can be a bit of a sketchy area. I live in NYC so it didn't bother me, and I didn't feel unsafe. Room was nice and Wifi worked well.

"Perfect "
mij l, 26 Septembre 2016

We paid £77. At the time of booking (pre brexit *sigh* €100. The hotel was well positioned, the staff were very friendly and professional, the extra touches like l'occtaine soaps and shampoo didn't go unnoticed. For the money, 5 stars, couldn't be bettered. Breakfast and hotel drinks a little on the pricey side, but they're optional so won't be marked down

"Chic boutique hotel"
Bill C, 16 Septembre 2016

The Best Western Up Hotel is very well located and a few minutes from the Eurostar station. The staff are brilliant and friendly. The room and bed was comfortable. The coffee machine in the room was a must... Tres bien.

"Mosquito hell in Lille"
Di B, 13 Septembre 2016

We stayed just the one night in Lille, we had 2 rooms for our family. Although the hotel has four stars on the website, it is only a 2 or at very best 3. The rooms are very small, but are decorated quite quirkily. The L'Occitane products were a welcome luxury touch. The staff were lovely, although the youngster they put on reception was a little bewildered and we noted worked long hours. The bar man was great and delicious cocktails were served. However, our room at the back was a hangout for mosquitos - quite a shock to see them so far up north and the breakfast room in the morning had a swarm of them. It is very close to the train station however this meant it was noisy and lively at night. My tip would be to stay more central and away from the station vicinity.

"The worst experience "
yooolka, 11 Août 2016

After this hotel I don't believe in the "stars" anymore. The staff is so unprofessional, rooms are so small that you won't be even able to open your smallest luggage, the air conditioners doesn't work or are super noisy , we even had to change the room in the middle of the night, but it was still impossible to fall asleep because of the noise from outside. Unbelievably terrible!

"Fantastic Bathroom"
pam_summers1, 06 Août 2016

We were staying in Lille for one night before catching a train at Lille Flandres station and chose this hotel as it is close to the station. Great decision. The weather was very hot but the room had two windows and air conditioning. The room was quite compact but had everything needed plus a very comfortable king sized bed. The bathroom had a fantastic shower with good water pressure, easy access and lots of hot water. We didn't manage breakfast but it looked fine. Will be back for a longer stay in the future.

"great location"
Mofamil, 27 Juillet 2016

the room was very clean, modern and definitely a boutique room however no mini bar was in our room not that we were bothered, cleaned daily large bathroom small room great air con, staff were good however do not go for the breakfast its very expensive with poor choice and not enough staff. Great location for the grand square.

"Perfect for the station. Peaceful and friendly"
belisaurius, 26 Juillet 2016

We stayed on two separate nights and the hotel suited us ideally. It is in easy walking distance from Lille International and Lille Flanders stations. Although breakfast is available it was more than we wished to have, so we had breakfast in a small coffee place nearby enjoying a couple of croissants each. A range of restaurants are nearby. Each room we had, had a large very comfortable bed and was bright an sufficiently spacious. Each bathroom has efficient showers and was not at all cramped. The staff we met were polite helpful and friendly. We would stay there again without hesitation

"Looking for home."
gusano1, 20 Juillet 2016

Stayed at the hotel while looking for a place to stay in Lille. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Clean rooms and confortable beds and the rooms have A/C. The hotel is located near the train station, bus stops are within a few minutes walk, plenty of restaurants and brasserie near by. The zoo is very close as well. The breakfast is very expensive, not worth the food. Enjoy your stay!!

"Perfect spot just off Main Street "
AmieOldham, 07 Juillet 2016

I stayed in this hotel with family whilst watching the euros 2016. We chose this location as it was located perfectly in the centre but off the Main Street to avoid the crowds. The hotel staff could not do enough for us providing us with an adapter as we forgot ours from the UK and gave us excellent advise on travelling around the city. The room was very spacious and modern and was cleaned each day. Even giving free wifi and a complemented bottle of water each. I would recommend this hotel as it is close to the train station and metro but within a minutes walk from the main shopping and restaurant area.

"Cozy Hotel"
Nandeesha, 25 Juin 2016

Cozy modern hotel close to Lille Fladers Train Station. Rooms are very comfortable, Break fast has decent spread. It does not have a gym, dissapointing. Wifi speed is good and it is free. Staff is helpful.

"Nice small hotel in very good location!"
miki_al, 24 Juin 2016

We booked two rooms for 1 night stay. There was a soccer game for the Euro 2016! The hotel was in very good location, close to everything. The people working were very nice and helpful. There rooms were in the smaller side and the breakfast was kind of expensive , the only downside.

"Horrendous treatment of Family"
Rachel S, 21 Juin 2016

My mum, sister (16) and brother (12) booked this hotel for 3 nights as part of their trip to the euros as my Father, is part of the Republic of Ireland's backroom staff. My mum's card unfortunately was scammed in the UK on route to France, having travelled from Bordeaux today prior to check in time she was met with I'm sorry your room is cancelled as your card is invalid despite having a second card from the same account. So... Today in the midst of the euros your hotel have sent a family down a street to another hotel, not really caring if there was any availability, families beware!!!! If you are going to travel to France during a busy time you don't want the frightening experience my family had to endure there. Coming from a hotel background myself, my guess would be that the hotel overbooked and who paid the most got the room...should I mention my mum had booked a suite or really does that matter all I know is that you've left a family stranded in an unknown city during a booked out time, customer service.... 0, friendliness 0.

"Great location and very clean"
Stephane R, 13 Juin 2016

Highly recommend.. Very nice staff, very clean room and very centrally located. would recommend for a couple of days. Small rooms but very well set and well equipped. Close to the train station and therefore some trumps but also close to center of the city..Certainly recommend.

"Great location pleasant staff"
davidbT2263RN, 04 Juin 2016

Only a few minutes from the Eurostar, no need for taxi. Lovely staff. We had two rooms, 3 of us travelling. not large but well equipped. didn't like the coffee machine as we drink tea and the water wasn't hot enough. A kettle would have been perfect. very nice bathroom . had a drink in the bar which was handy. safe wouldn't work but Antoine did his best to fix it but not a problem as only around for two nights. Would recommend .

"Weekend away with friends"
Purplelove007, 30 Mai 2016

The Best Western Up Hotel was situated exactly where we needed it. I was in Lille with three girl friends having a relaxing short trip away from husbands and children. The hotel was very close to the Grand Place and some fantastic restaurants and shops. Reception staff were exemplary and very helpful. Rooms were small however this was not a problem, the decor was amazing and refreshing. The bathroom was perfectly clean and the I'Occitane products were welcomed! We did not have breakfast included and this was actually great as we went our and enjoyed breakfast I the local brasseries. I would recommend this hotel to anyone not worried about space, but wanting a welcoming, friendly and comfortable hotel close to the main squares in Lille.

"Nice little hotel right in center of the city"
Kevin O, 12 Mai 2016

Just stayed here at the hotel UP in the center of Lille this week. A very nice and smaller, quaint hotel. Was easy walk from the train station (took Eurostar from London, less than an hour on the train) and the hotel is just a block or so from the main plaza in the city. The rooms are quite nice, very clean, large bathroom, very comfortable bed and a work space and expresso machine in the room. All for a good price as well. Nice lounge, bar and breakfast in the morning. Glad we found this hotel and stayed here on first trip to Lille.

"An amazing chic boutique hotel in the centre of Lille"
Ustaad71, 21 Avril 2016

I had a comfortable two night stay at the Best Western Up hotel in Lille. All the staff at this hotel go out of their way to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay at the hotel. The rooms are big with big bathrooms and luxurious toiletries. The breakfast has good variety and the quality of the ingredients is noticeable, do try the fresh orange juice. The WiFi works well, I never experienced any slow downs or connection issues. The Best Western Up really sets a high standard.

"Mixed feelings"
CdeRidder-NL, 16 Avril 2016

Hotel has a very modern look and feel which I really enjoy a lot. Our room, on the 4th floor facing the street side (same view as from the entrance) was very small. There was barely any space for our suitcase and the 'closet' was small too. Bed was extremely comfortable and there were plugs on both sides of the bed and just above the 'desk' that was in the room. When travelling, I am always searching for plugs and often find them in the most inconvenient places ever. Bathroom was really great. It had a rain shower head and a hand held one. The room had a Nespresso machine and came with coffee pods. The cups however were not so clean.

"Friendly welcome and value for money"
Peter F, 30 Mars 2016

The hotel is well placed for the Lille Flandres and Lille Europe stations. As is common with hotels near stations some of the nearby streets can feel a little seedy but we had no problems. It was a short walk to the old centre of Lille. The room was comfortable, though a little on the small side, and it would have benefitted from more shelf space. It was well cleaned and prepared each day. The 2 for 1 offer on breakfast available on our first day was good value but we ate out at a local cafe the remaining days as we did not expect to eat 16 Euros worth of breakfast each. The staff, especially Armandine, were very friendly and gave us a lot of help.

"clean and confortable"
Valerie V, 17 Décembre 2015

Nice quiet hotel very conveniently located closed by the train stations, stores and the Grand Place. Nespresso machines in the room with welcome water. L'occitane products. Goodies when you arrive. Pleasant helpful and caring staff.

"Brilliant Hotel, brilliant location"
Uptonlady, 15 Décembre 2015

Second visit to Lille but first to Hotel Up. What a wonderful hotel to stay in, the staff were very attentive and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Our bed was so comfortable. Centrally based for the shops, bars and wonderful architecture. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and hope it won't be too long before we revisit!

"Excellent hotel for a city break with a couple of minor issues"
chris j, 14 Décembre 2015

We stayed at the hotel Up for two nights, overall an enjoyable stay. Location wise it is just a few mins walk from the centre and the stations. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was compact but clean and modern, perfect for a couple of days but I would think for much longer. The room was very warm and had no kettle and the takeaway opposite did get noisy at times, but those are the only minor grumbles. A good hotel for a weekend away in a central location, definitely would consider staying there again.

"Christmas market visit!"
JuneRichard, 04 Décembre 2015

Lovely little hotel near shops & market. Lots of bars & restaurants within walking distance too. Lille has lots of interesting architecture. Bed is so comfortable didn't want to get up! Shower facilities good too -love the verbena shampoo! Had great cocktails made in the bar in the evening! Breakfast spread really tasty and has a good selection. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Parking is in a secure car park a few streets away. Only downside is that there are a few immigrants hanging around in the street during the day who make a nuisance of themselves. All in all a very enjoyable visit and would come back again.

"Place to stay if you need to be close to the train"
Johno58, 01 Décembre 2015

Very comfortable hotel that has all you need. Rooms a little small but that's to be expected in Europe. Perfect for a night when catching an early train. Very clean and cosy beds and a 5 minute walk to the centre of the old town. Would stay there again.

"Very central to everything"

"Would come again"
Saz K, 24 Novembre 2015

The hotel was easy to find from Eurostar and lovely and close to the Grand Place. All of the hotel was clean and in good order and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, all spoke English and were really helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel only because there was so much choice out and about.

"Perfect little hotel in heart of lille"
Vicky B, 17 Novembre 2015

Lovely little hotel. Great location for city centre, yet quiet enough to not feel like you are in the hustle and bustle of the city. Staff friendly and helpful. Good choice of Buffet Breakfast. Booked room for 4 for 3 girls and whilst compact was still plenty big enough (king size bed and double sofa bed). Lovely big bathroom. Modern style and all mod cons. Would definitely recommend - good value.

"Excellent and reasonable hotel in Lille centre"
Habela, 11 Octobre 2015

We stayed here as a family of 5 for one night. I booked two rooms and they put a third bed in one room. My husband and I had a beautiful contemporary room, very spacious, with an excellent bathroom and large shower. Rooms have coffee pod machines and everything was of good quality. The children's room was very similar but was a little cramped with the third - but as we were only staying for one night this was not a problem. The location is within easy walking distance to the centre and plenty of overnight street parking.

"UP there with the (5) Stars!"
Sogoesit, 01 Octobre 2015

This boutique type hotel has it all, up there with some five star hotels. From the friendliness, and accommodation to a guest's wishes, to the sumptuous and varied fresh breakfast menu this hotel rates in service as better than a lot of "luxury" hotels. Value for money is therefore very, very good. As to the room amenities these are well designed rooms both utilitarian and luxurious at this price level. Albeit not large spaces rooms to shower rooms to toilets are free flowing and doubles can accommodate three people with the use of a sofa bed. All furnishings and lighting were stylish and modern without being "extra trendy". Bath amenities are a luxurious touch of Occitane too. All-in-all a great find only a minute from Lille Flandres Station and 5/6 minutes from Lille Europe. Plenty of cafes and bistros in the immediate vicinity. Stayed in a 3rd floor rear-facing room.

"Good first impression"
Marten H, 26 Septembre 2015

At first a good impression. Modern, friendly staff and good location. How ever. The room I had was for 3 persons (302) well if you stay there with 3 persons you will break your neck. I was alone so it was fine. Smoke detector was coverd bij showercap bij previous guest our housekeeping. A big big no go. Room looks recently renoveted, should have done better isolation. I can hear every step of my upstair neighbour every flush and every shower. Over the 5 days the did not replace the towels 2 times. The bed is ,for my personal taste, to soft. As well there was a dent in the bed flip the matress once in a while. Missed a minibar in the room. Parking is around the corner and good.

"Excellent choice"
JOSEmonterrey, 23 Septembre 2015

This is a very fine hotel located near the train stations and in downtown Lille. Excellent staff, always attentive and useful. Modern installations and very clean. We only stayed one night and it was a good sleep.

"Good hotel for a short stay in Lille"
Edita B, 17 Septembre 2015

I stayed in Lille due to work visit in France. Location is great, perfect when u need to catch early train next morning or late dinner. Tidy and clean. Receptionists were very pleasant and happy to help. Good WiFi connection. They do charge 16 euros for breakfast (a bit too steep) & in my opinion a bit too much for a night's stay, as hotel itself even though it is nice offers nothing special. So we did not have breakfast :) I am giving it 3 stars simply because of too high room rates, otherwise would have been 4

"Service is good but room is not clean"
solingsky, 01 Septembre 2015

Staff are nice, responsive and helpful. Just the room is really unexpectedly dusty, and unfortunately I have allergy to dust. Also the floor is too thin I can hear people of the upper floor walking around in the morning, not so good if you want some more sleep. But again, staff are good there.

"Great location, top class staff, spotless accommodation"
Naishcombe, 11 Août 2015

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is within a few minutes walk of the centre of the city and about 15 minutes from the 2 mainline stations. Yet it is very quiet and peaceful. The rooms have excellent air-conditioning, fast wi-fi although you need a separate code for each piece of kit you use. Hospitality items are Occitane and the shower rooms a good size. Breakfast was particularly good, buffet style. The staff were brilliant.

"Good for city trip"
Frank W, 07 Août 2015

Decent room, decent breakfast, decent price, good location for a short citytrip to the beautiful city of lille. Walking distance from the big mall and the historic centre. Also easy connection with public transport.

"Nice and clean"
Suri C, 19 Juillet 2015

Very nice and clean hotel, good WiFi in the room, good bed, modern and clean bathroom. Parking in nearby parking garage Opera for 14€ for 24 hours. If there is something to nag about then it would be the tv - only 1 english speaking Channel. But hey, i am not nagging.

"Excellent one night stay in Lille"
Herve L, 14 Juin 2015

We stayed one night at the Best Western Up. The location is very practical. The room was spotlessly clean. The lighting and design of the room were quite sophisticated. The bathroom is large and well conceived. The staff were extremely friendly and diligent, both at check in late at night and during breakfast on Sunday morning. The breakfast is good, though on the expensive side at 15 €. However you will get everything you would expect from a good class English breakfast. The croissants were specially delicious. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Close to the rail stations in Lille"
PeterS4932014, 01 Juin 2015

This little hotel is situated five minutes walk from Lille Europe rail station in a relatively quiet 'place' and is convenient for Lille centre. Five floors up and two rooms wide it deserves its name - but it does have a lift - and the upstairs rooms are very quiet. New(ish) bathroom with shower worked well, and the room itself was comfortable and a good bed, not sure what the red lighting panel on the ceiling was for, but hey, for a night or two a good little pied a terre. Not sure I would stay for longer, vieux Lille is where the tourist interest lies and it's a tidy step away, as is the famous Lille Museum and Art Gallery Breakfast was good, as was the service. Would definitely suit a business traveller en route, or a short leisure trip to Lille - no evening meals though, you have to go out.

"our thoughts"
Reginald B, 16 Mars 2015

Friendly and efficient hotel personnel. Hotel was well situated and clean; however, the heating system was not efficient. View from the window was not very attractive - a brick wall - but then not many people stay in a hotel to look out of the window all day!!

"Convenient hotel"
Vegas69024, 24 Février 2015

Very close by the 2 main railway stations; some 10mins walk from Lille Europe(Eurostar) and 2-3 mins from Lille Flandres. Also a short walk to the town centre where there are numerous restaurants, bars etc.Breakfast expensive but the Monop shop is round the corner for sandwiches, croissants etc at a fraction of the price. Also wine and beer etc, Staff very friendly and helpful;location looks rather seedy but the rooms etc are very modern as well as the interior. Well recommended.

"Great Stay"
D4849EPmichaelw, 09 Décembre 2014

Lovely hotel, great location, friendly, exceptional service! The staff go the extra mile to make your stay special. If you want a quiet location, but close to the main square, this the place to stay. The Hotel has been recently refurbished. Rooms are of a good size and are very comfortable.

"modern, central, clean and friendly"
Florian D, 11 Novembre 2014

My favourite hotel in Lille. Located between the train station and the city center - 5 minutes walking distance for both directions. Friendly and very supportive english speaking staff. All rooms have a modern design, are clean and quiet. The parking situation is not ideal, but manageable by using the public parking at Lille opera (5 minutes walking distance).
