    « Lexington stay »

A very nice hotel, but showing signs of being dated in decor. The breakfast was top-notch with a complete variety of items and they serve until 10:00 (for us retirees). The noise level between rooms and floors is quite noticeable. The toilet in our room flushed in an unconventional way so had to be flushed 2 and 3 times, thus using too much water. The tv channels were not HD.

« Quiet, Relaxing Grandson Enjoyed the Pool »

I chose this hotel, because of its location, it allowed dogs at no additional charge except for pet cleaning fee of $20. Hot breakfast, several beverages (coffee, tea, hot cocoa, 4 different juices at no additional charge available anytime night or day.

« Cozy Hotel in the Mountains »

We always enjoy short trips to the mountains. This hotel has helped us to do this more often. Conveniently located off the interstate, it is also close enough to stores and restaurants to help you with forgotten items. The staff is pleasant and helpful. There is a drink bar that my family loves with juices, coffee, and tea. The breakfast is more than a simple continental breakfast and has many options to eat. Overall, we love this location being close to the Natural Bridge, Va Animal Safari, VMI and other sights to see.

« Best hotel in the area »

We've stayed over in the Lexington area a few times to break up a drive to/from TN. This is by far the best hotel we've stayed at in the area. Beds are comfortable, great water pressure, friendly staff, great indoor gym and an amazing breakfast buffet every morning (4 stations). Cute rubber ducks for the kids.

    « Nice Hotel »

Clean hotel, comfortable rooms. Some with balconies Betty, Mary and the other lady make a tasty breakfast and our very pleasant. A quiet hotel in a rural location. Close to Stonewall Jackson cemetery.

    « Great breakfast »

Nice hotel with an impressive breakfast spread. Two females travelling felt very safe and comfortable. A great value, like the beverage station and snacks available at all times even when arriving late

    « Announcer »

Just love coming here! The breakfast is the best I've ever had at a hotel! I have to leave early every morning and Margaret and Andy were so kind and helpful. I will be back in August! I also appreciated being able to make copies and use the computer for some work I had to do.

« Great breakfast buffet and 24 hour oranges and hot beverages »

This was a great hotel for our multi-day hike on the Appalachian Trail. So many healthy choices for breakfast, a guest washer/dryer for our daily wet/muddy clothes, 24-hour bowl of oranges in the lobby and hot drink choices, and a hot tub. Rooms were extremely clean and beds were comfortable. All the staff and housekeepers were true Southern hospitality.

    « It's the little things »

The staff is so helpful. They go out of their way to explain charges and make sure you get any discounts available. The breakfast is a bonus. The accommodations are comfortable. We like the coffee station off the lobby.

« Fully justifies its plus status »

A good place to stay. Some thought at last in the design of the hotel which is unusual, built on a hillside. Good check in and spacious lobby. In fact the hotel is spacious throughout. The rooms are good as are beds, pillows ok. Business centres on each floor. Nice indoor pool which expands into outdoor in season.Breakfast room is spacious and airy and inclusive breakfast is very good. If you are passing through the area make sure you stay

Perfect location for traveling east coast. Check in was fast and staff friendly. Room was nice and quiet. Breakfast was supplied nicely and was just right before continuing on our journey. Love the ducks!

« Family gathering in Lexington, VA »

Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Comfortable beds and room. Bathroom a bit small but fine for the 3 of us. Great hot complimentary breakfast - lots of things to choose from and nice area to sit and eat. Great staff and we had a quiet room on top floor away from elevator. Nice lobby and central stair case.

    « Great hotel! »

We stayed here on the way to Virginia from Kansas for a family wedding. The facility is great, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was tremendous as were the ladies tending to our needs. The stationary bike in the fitness room was excellent as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

    5
    « A great pet friendly hotel! »

This is a VERY clean hotel and our pet friendly room was one of the best that we have experienced! The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet and convenient to taking our dog outside. Breakfast was standard fair and good. The breakfast staff and the reception desk personnel were super! We plan to stay here again!

« Great Night in Lexington! »

We took our grandkids to the Natural Bridge Zoo and Safari Zoo over Spring Break. Spent the night at the Best Western Plus Inn and were extremely pleased with the service, room and amenities. Close to the interstate and just a short drive to downtown the location was ideal. Excellent breakfast buffet. Kudos to Deborah at the front desk - so friendly and personable. She really made us feel welcome.

    « Great for a weekend »

Continental breakfast was fantastic. Rooms are very clean and staff is very helpful and attentive. Hotel is older and could use some updates but that was the worst I could say about it. Overall good stay.

    « great visit »

This is a great place to stay in Lexington. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Hotel is clean. Room comes with breakfast. Dog friendly. Great for groups. Quick access to Lexington. Exercise room. Social areas that are good for visiting. We have stayed here many times.

    « Fabulous »

We had the Best night ever spent in a motel/hotel. Check in was quick and easy. Staff was professional and courteous. Room was clean and neat. Beds were inviting, after a long drive. Very surprised at breakfast. An excellent verity to choose from. Check out was a breeze, too. Thanks, Sandra Hughes

    « Great overnight stay »

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have never had a bad experience. The staff is courteous and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast area is large and has a good variety of items. The location is easy access to I-64 and I-80.a

« This Hotel was not our favorite Best Western »

We like Best Western. We find them to be family friendly and centrally located in towns we visit. This being said, we found the Lexington Best Western to be dated, not as clean as others we have stayed in and lacking in general comforts. The wall paper was ripped in places, the TV and dresser top was not dusted nor do I assume cleaned in the two days we stayed. There were no toiletries in the bathroom the first night. We did get some the second night. There was a french fry dropped on between the bed and mattress frame when we arrived. The heated pool was cold and small. Breakfast buffett was good with many choices. The hotel was pet friendly and had many places to walk a pet. Parking was ample. The desk help needed to be more friendly. I made a point of making eye contact and greeting them each time we came past but most of the time they were looking down. Other Best Westerns we have stayed out had more of a family friendly feel.

    5
    « Great family facility »

We were exhausted when we reached the motel and it was great to be greeted with a smile. The beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the breakfast variety -- fresh fruit options, meat, eggs, biscuits and gravy, bagel, pastries, multiple kinds of cereal -- just to name a few! We highly recommend this Best Western and will definitely stay there again.

    3
    « Quiet »

Just a one night stay. Our room was spacious, clean and comfy. Breakfast the next morning was a disappointment, a very poor selection. Better to just grab something small or go somewhere else to eat. Lexington is a great small town to explore with interesting shops and restaurants.

    4
« Reasonable rate. Good location »

We toured the Natural Bridge attractions. This hotel provided a reasonable rate, fairly close to restaurants and about 10 miles to Natural Bridge. The front desk staff were friendly. Good free breakfast. Only gluten free items were fruit and OJ for me but the others enjoyed sausage/egg/ cheese biscuits, waffles and eggs. There was cereal and danishes too. Indoor pool was a plus for the cold outdoor weather.

    5
« Lexington in the Spring »

We always enjoy working on our property in Lexington on the Maury River in the spring time. We also love staying at the Best Western Hunt Ridge after an arduous day of labor. The Hotel is at a good location, clean and comfortable. They also let us stay with our Cat. The breakfast in the morning is good too. The staff are always helpful and friendly. We have been staying there for over a decade now and pick BWHR over all the other Hotels in Lexington.

    5
« Great place to stay »

This hotel is clean, the rooms are nice and the staff is very attentive and friendly. Margaret and Mary who are sisters operate the complimentary breakfast. They are sweet women who put there all into pleasing you. They were a blessing to my day. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

    5
« Good location and great service »

Located close to the interstate. Very clean. Good customer service. Comfortable beds. There were two pools, one outside and one inside, as well as an exercise room. Excellent breakfast with eggs, bacon and sausage. We will stay here again on our next trip.

    4
« Neat appearance, great hotel considering its age »

Hotel is several years old, but looks in pretty good shape. It has been updated very well, but some age traits just can't be hidden. Beds were SUPER comfy, about as good as some 5-star hotels I've stayed at.

    5
    « Great value! »

Easy to get to from I-64 and U.S. 11; plenty of parking; 3 re-charge stations for hybrids. Check in was easy and quick but when asked how I wanted to pay for the room, I had to point out that I had pre-paid. Room had plenty of space with 2 "smallish" queen beds. Heat/AC worked well and was easy to use >> plus it had a "constant fan" setting which is ideal for the white noise. Big tv, but wifi didn't seem to be that strong on that end of the hotel (we were on the opposite end from the conference center, which doubled as the buffet breakfast area). Bathroom was adequate size and everything worked well. Overall, very clean, comfortable, and pleasant. Breakfast was great >> hot buffet with 3 choices of eggs, sausage or bacon, cooked oatmeal, fruit, breads/muffins/bagels, juices, good variety of teas, etc. Staff were friendly and quietly efficient. For the price, this was a great deal.

« Nice, clean hotel, excellent value »

We have made a one night stop on our Virginia tour near the Virginia Safari Park. The hotel is located close to the highway, where are some shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel looks clean and new, the breakfast is included in the price, it is an excellent value, it is really a "plus" compared to the basic Best Westerns.

« Beautiful location convenient to the VA Horse Center »

This is the second year I have stayed here with my agility dog. We were competing in the Star City Canine Training Club's Agility Trials, and the hotel is very pet friendly. The coffee bar includes lemonade and tea and is always available, and I really appreciated the fresh oranges and apples each day.

    5
    « Good value »

Weather was bad so we went to Best Western. Service was excellent and the room was great. Breakfast was more than what we expected and again staff were friendly and very informative. keep up the great work.

    3
« An overnight on our way home »

We stayed here about 3 years ago and were very impressed. This time the lobby area looked great, shiny floors and clean, We were greeted by a very friendly lady. We could not unlock our door and found out you had to push the handle upwards, strange, it was installed upside down. The room was okay but very dusty all around the edges. Breakfast was okay but the ladies in charge kept standing and watching us which made us uncomfortable and one had a terrible cough, quite a change from last time!!

    5
    « Beautiful place. »

We stayed there two nights while attending a funeral. The place was probably updated recently. Breakfast was good, although not the best. I believe it was formally a hunting lodge. We would stay there again.

« Awesome hotel and staff!! Big dog friendly!! My second time here! :) »

Convenient. Clean. Plenty of parking and well lit. Big dog friendly. Indoor/outdoor pool. Free tea, coco, coffee, fruit, and bottled water available 24-7. Vending machine also on premise. Staff is super friendly. I was greeted at night by Debbie. She was top notch! Very hospitable and easy to talk too. Since it was a slow night we did a pet friendly photo shoot promo for the hotel by the fireplace and Christmas tree. My dog just loved her. What fun!! They have a great free breakfast with a wide variety of items to choose from. While enjoying my breakfast I chatted with Mary, another awesome employee. Before I checked out I had the pleasure of speaking with Deborah not to be confused with Deb. She was a delight as well. Before I left I asked to speak with the manager to tell him how much I enjoyed my stay this year and last year and that I plan on returning again when I pass through the next time. The manager, Jonathan was grateful to hear the good news and thanked me for my business. Overall a wonderful stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you to all of the staff!! Happy New Year!! :)

    « Friendly, Professional, Comfortable »

Our first long trip with our dog couldn't have gone better, in great part to the experience we had at the Best Western Plus. From the moment we checked in and were greeted with a friendly smile and tons of information about the restaurants in the area (as well as a lot of love for our pooch), until we checked out the next morning, the entire staff (front desk, housekeeping) were great. And the price was awesome as well considering it was a holiday period! We will definitely be staying here again!

    5
    « Vacation Stay »

This Hotel is a great place to stay. I have dogs that we took with us. They are very accommodating and very nice customer service. This place has free breakfast bar. The breakfast is good. Although I wish they had hot oatmeal available. I would definitely stay here again.

« Two Stays In One Week »

We stayed at this Best Western Plus location twice this past week as we were coming and going on Holiday Week family visit. This location proved to be convenient to Route 81 without being right on top of the highway. The basic room (we got the same room both times) was comfortable and clean. There was one minor repair needed--the toilet seat had broken feet (bumpers?). The complimentary breakfast was excellent with many choices and the room rate made our stay a great value. The staff we met were almost all very pleasant with one exception at our first check-in. We would definitely consider staying at this location again

    5
    « Great place »

The room and bathroom were clean and nice. The price was affordable. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. I'll choose to stay here again when I'm back I the area. Thank you for the great service and place to rest.

« NIce hotel in a lovely town »

Enjoyed my stay here on my way to the NE for Christmas. Very affordable, clean and quiet. I highly recommend a stay here so you don't pass up seeing Lexington, a gem of a little town, especially at Christmas-time!

    « Great experience »

Informed the front desk we would be late, was assured that wouldn't be a problem. Everyone we encountered was super nice (front desk, breakfast staff). The room was bigger than I expected. Very nice and clean room. Was just for an overnight stay an route to my destination but would stay here again if need be. Extremely pleased with this hotel. Thank you Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge!

    2
    « Great stopping point »

Stopped at the Inn at Hunt Ridge on our way to South Carolina. Great facility, very clean and very quiet. Breakfast was well supplied by Mary and Jan who constantly monitored the food. Very good. Many choices for restaurants nearby and a Walmart down the road if you need anything. Good highway access. Gas stations on the way in and out to the highway. Will stop again on our way home.

    4
« Pleasant place to stay »

We enjoyed our stay here, the people were very helpful, rooms are clean, very quiet surroundings, nice work out room and there are some shops convienently located nearby. Margaret and Mary, who took care of the breakfast, were very welcoming.

    4
« Comfortable and a good breakfast included »

We booked through Hotwire and got good value for a room that was more premium priced. The room was comfortable and clean but nothing exceptional. What was better than average was the breakfast included with a good selection of eggs, pastry, and sausages. There was a pool and exercise room, but we did not take advantage of them this time.

    5
    « Fabulous night stay »

My husband and I and our service dog had a fabulous stay here on our way from New Jersey to Tennessee. Everyone from reception to housekeeping to breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, up to date, comfortable and clean. We always expect a good spread for breakfast at BW Plus, and here they didn't disappoint. We also found a couple of delicious options for dinner nearby. We'd definitely stay here again!

    4
« Great Place, Excellent Value »

This was a great place to stay, very friendly staff, rooms and lobby were very clean and it was close to downtown Lexington. The lobby was decorated for Christmas and smelled wonderful. The price was reasonable and a good value. I enjoyed breakfast and the coffee was plentiful. I would definately return.

« Best Western Plus Hunt Ridge »

We've stayed at this hotel several times and have always been happy with the experience. The staff are friendly and helpfull. The 2 ladies that take care of the breakfast area do an especially good job.

    5
    « Great stay! »

We stopped here for a night on our way from Virginia to Ohio. We were impressed with the friendliness of the front desk employee and then with our clean and comfortable room. The 24 hour beverage bar in the lobby was a nice surprise. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best we've ever had. There was a great variety of hot and cold items and Jan and Andy kept the buffet fully stocked and the breakfast room clean. The topper of our visit was the cute little rubber ducky that every guest receives which had us leaving with a smile on our face. We will be back,

    3
« Ok, but not great »

I sat in the lobby to read and I noticed several guest trying to check in and there was no one at the front desk. The young man that was working kept leaving the front area which in affect caused new guests to have to wait on someone to come to the front. There was no bell to let anyone know someone was up front. I found that unacceptable and was glad I wasn't the one having to wait for someone to come to the front to check me in. I will say that this is the first time I have noticed this at this particular hotel. I have family in the area and this is where I normally stay and the service in the past has been much better.

    5
« Excellent clean new hotel »

Great hotel with very clean rooms and friendly staff. The location is very convenient. This is a new hotel with all necessary conveniences. Beds are comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone based on my stay.

  • 5
    « Thumbs Up »

We were greeted by a friendly staff. Room was clean and housekeeping staff were also very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great with a pretty good selection of items. The hotel is located off one of the main roads in Lexington. Easy access to just about everything.

    5
    « Nice Stay »

This is a lovely place with friendly service. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was better than expected and in a large nice room. Really on the value scale, we have rarely seen better. Top of the line for a moderately priced inn. We will look forward to our next stay.

    5
    « A great hotel and staff »

My wife and I stayed at the BW Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge in November 2017. Upon our arrival the staff were warm and friendly. The breakfast was better than most free hotel breakfasts. The room was comfortable and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again. It is a real plus that a nice Waffle House is just down the street.

    4
    « A pleasant place to stay »

Overall, this was a pleasant place to spend the night as a break between a two-day road trip. I was surprised at the number of amenities available, and the willingness of the (very friendly) staff to accommodate my needs. The room was surprisingly clean for a pet-friendly hotel - a definite "plus." I would have given this five stars if the bathroom had been cleaner. The soap dish was dirty, the fixtures had dirty, soapy fingerprints, and there was hair in the sink and the tub. The main room had obviously not been dusted in a long time, but the bed was clean, which is what I care about the most. There was a nice assortment of food available at breakfast - even gluten-free items were available! My only negative comment about breakfast is that the scrambled eggs were too salty. I will definitely stay here again, and hopefully next time I will have time to enjoy more amenities, like the pool and the fitness center. They even have a laundry room available, and complimentary beverages/snacks 24-hours a day! Thanks for a nice stay!

« best of the best westerns »

just the finest of best western motels. we stayed in a similar best western in rapid city, sd this year while on vacation it was ok but the best western in lexington, blew it away as far as location . friendlyness closeness to parking, wonderful free breakfast, and cleanness.

« Great two night stay »

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Especially the complimentary breakfasts. Margaret and Mary made our mornings even more enjoyable with their friendly conversations. Two wonderful ladies!

    5
« Friendly Staff and nice location »

Stayed here one night while driving through Virginia on a leisure trip. Chose the hotel due to its pet friendly rating. Check in was extremely easy. Nice to be recognized as a Diamond member. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the AM was very good; lots of fresh fruit, including pink grapefruit, my favorite! Easy on and off the Interstate. Gas station located near by, as is a small strip mall, with a Walmart.

« Outstanding BW Plus In Lexington Virginia says it all! »

Outstanding describes the helpful and friendly staff at this best western plus. It also describes the facility inside & out and its amenities & wonderful breakfast. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly. Check out was a warm welcome in the morning as well.

« Like an Old Friend »

The Best Western at Hunt Ridge, Lexington, VA is like an old friend. You know the warm feeling you get when you see an old friend and get a smile on your face? When we pull into our hotel parking lot in Lexington, there is an immediate warm happy feeling inside, like seeing an old friend. A comfortable, relaxed feeling. You know they have your best interest at heart, and you know you are going to be taken care of. Thank you Best Western staff for making us feel welcome EVERY time we come. Thanks for making our stay like being with old friends.

    4
    « Road trip »

Looked forward to stay since reviews were good. Our reservation was not showing, so check-in was slowed up. Didn't seem to want to do anything about it until one of the receptionists sort of found it. Front desk was not very helpful with suggestions for restaurants. Logging on for Internet was difficult and frustrating since the password we were given was invalid.

« Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge »

Best Western is my first hotel choice and this hotel is no exception to providing special touches other hotels do not do. We didn't want to leave in the morning. Fireplace in the lobby. Rubber duckies to remind us of the stay. Who does that?

    5
« Great place to stay. »

Super location. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. Breakfast is as good as any first class restaurant in both variety and quality. The location is excellent with plenty of places for dinner and entertainment.

    5
    « Mary and Margaret - hooray! »

I travel a great deal for both business and pleasure, but I've never before been compelled to write a review - either positive or negative. But I had to drop everything this morning before checking out to rave about my experience at this hotel. This is a business stopover so I expected a routine, business-as-usual hotel stay. Not only was this hotel surprisingly clean, comfortable, and fresh, the breakfast buffet is hands down the best I've ever experienced in a "chain" type hotel. The dining room was lovely and elegant (part of a conference facility onsite); the food was fresh, lots of choices, well presented so that there weren't lines waiting for any particular type of breakfast item. But the thing I am most excited about is the pleasure of meeting Mary and Margaret - two beautiful sisters who tend the breakfast area and meal lovingly and carefully. They are inspiring, welcoming, and thoughtful. When I got up this morning and trudged to breakfast, full of thoughts about a day full of meetings ahead and feeling tired, never did I expect to have such a lovely, welcoming experience. It made my day, and I won't soon forget my interactions with these two star employees at this wonderful hotel. Thank you, Mary and Margaret! I'll be back to see you when in the area!!!

    3
« One of the best in Lexington! »

Our daughter attends college in this area so we visit Lexington often! Clean and updated motels are difficult to find in Lexington and the prices can be high at different times of year. We have found this particular Best Western to fit out needs the best. The rooms are kept clean. The breakfast in the morning is really well done. I have always appreciated the staff lady who cares for the breakfast are. She is always keeps everything well stocked! My one request would be if there could be rooms that do not have pets stay in them. As a family who does not have indoor pets this would be a plus for us!

    4
« Great hotel that's close to the Virginia Horse Center »

We have gone to Lexington for an event at the Virginia Horse Center and have stayed at the Best Western for the past two years. I would say that it's the best hotel we've stayed in for the event. The room was very clean and well done. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It was very spacious and had a lot of choices such as scrambled eggs, omelets, waffles, sausage, etc. Our only suggestion is to request a room on the third floor so you won't hear people moving around above you. Overall I would highly recommend anyone to stay hear if you're hear for an event in Lexington.

    3
    « Best Western Plus »

At $180.00 a night, I found that the "perks" that made this a Best Western Plus was really lacking. As far as I was concerned, there was no difference with this hotel from a regular Best Western or any other hotel.

    4
« Clean, well run and friendly staff who always tries to help make the stay pleasant »

Very good daily breakfast buffet. Margaret and Mary always keep it well stocked, great variety of fresh food and very clean. They are always pleasant and cheery even early in the morning. All hotel staff always go out of their way to help any way they can. We were here for a large horse show and in spite of the hotel being full, the staff always had time for anything that would help.

    « Great Looking hotel »

    « Great Hotel »

Great location. Love the hotel. Friendly staff. Love the rubber ducky!!! The staff is super friendly. The rooms are very clean. For us the beds were a bit too soft...bad back. But if you like a soft bed this is the place. Very quiet well kept hotel.

This was our half way motel to and from Amish country. Rooms extremely clean. Staff was very friendly! We have never stayed in a Best Western before and this one out shines some of the other nice motels we've stayed in! Only thing we didn't like was the room with 2 queen beds are too close to the wall.

    « Breakfast & Hotel Rooms »

The 4 day stay was great. Our room was clean. The beds very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent thanks to the two cooks Mary & Margaret. The eggs & bacon were excellent & kept very warm even at 9:30 in the mornings. The breakfast sent the hotel over the top for our group of retirees occupying 7 rooms. I usually stay at expensive hotels but not any more. This was a moderate price in October during the week.

« Excellent stay with group »

We were a group of retirees meeting for an annual retreat. Wonderful accommodations, staff and amenities. The location allowed up easy access to attractions in the area and centrally located to travelers arriving from both northern and southern locations.

« Clean, Fresh, Polite, Professional »

Super place to stay. Clean, new, nice, and friendly staff, too. Huge breakfast selection and breakfast area. The manager was helpful to us. Even the cleaning staff greet you in the hallway and say, "Good morning." We stay here each time we're in Lexington.

    « Ok, but overpriced »

We stayed here this past weekend for two nights. We had a king room with a balcony, but it was ground floor facing the parking lot, so really pointless. The room was ok, the bed was good. The walls are thin. You can hear people in the next room talking. The breakfast was not much, we went to IHOP for a real meal both mornings. For $190 a night I have come to expect much more from a hotel. Lexington is great though! Lots of history to see.

« Very good hotel spoilt by miserable staff »

Most things about this place are very good: rooms excellent, sparkly clean, above average breakfast, great location with views of Blue Ridge from front of Hotel. However, we have rarely come across such miserable front desk staff. Our arrival was greeted with a few grunts and the usual keyboard tapping on the computer. The keys were handed over with hardly a word and she just gave us a piece of paper listing the hotel amenities. No welcome smile or chat at all. We got the impression that the lady would rather be anywhere else that day. We thought we might have caught her on a bad day but she was just as miserable two days later when we checked out. We had some interaction with two other staff members and they seemed to come from the same mould - efficient and not actually rude but definititely not happy in their jobs. In every other respect I would give this hotel a 'very good' rating but the attitude of the front desk staff means I have to downgrade it to 'average'.

    2
    « Uncomfortable »

Pillows are a fairly important part of a place you pay to sleep in. After battling the ginormous pillows for 3 hours, I called the front desk to ask for a different pillow (which I've never done in my life) and they told me that the 4 pillows (yes four) on each bed are all the same in every room all through the hotel. No others. The woman suggested I get a towel from the bathroom to sleep on. Fortunately, I told her I would check out if they couldn't fix and she told me that was fine they wouldn't charge me.

    « Will be back...... »

Great hotel, great location, great staff. Clean, comfortable room, balcony was a nice touch; picture is our view.... And, when the desk clerk tells you where to go eat, listen to him! We will be staying there again!

« Here we go again »

Lexington is a smaller town and options are limited. However, if you want a place to stay where the team treats you great and the rooms and the hotel is clean you pick this hotel. We stay often because of the central location to our son's college. I also enjoy the fact that in many ways we have become family with the team. So if you are in the area again I would recommend BWHR!

    4
    « very satisfactory »

My stay was very satisfactory and the staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was completely adequate and everything functioned well. The breakfast offered a large variety of items, including fresh fruits and pastries.

    « Shabby amenities »

The pool was freezing, had small pieces of trash in it. We were told nothing could be done until maintenance came the next day. Never got left enough towels and washcloths for our family. Breakfast bar was precooked, lukewarm, often soggy snd poir quality

    4
    « Great stop »

Updated clean Fresh and pet friendly! Would stop again in the future. Breakfast leaves a little to be desired but still ok just don't eat eggs if runny or slimy and park out front not on side as there are many fall risk trip hazards

    5
« Very Nice, clean, comfortable and friendly »

We were impressed with how clean the hotel was, the beds were comfortable and the were many choices for breakfast. But for being heated the pool was on the cooler side. The staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming.

« They truly go the extra mile! »

I stayed here for a week whilst on business in Buena Vista and must say that this was a very comfortable and friendly hotel where they really do go the extra mile. I have to say a special thanks to the wonderful Front desk Manager Deborah Bowyer who really helped me out of a hole when I needed urgent help getting to my place of business. I cannot thank her enough and have no hesitation in saying this is one of the kindest and most customer facing things that has ever happened to me whilst staying at a business hotel. A sincere thank you to her and to this fine establishment!

    « Above expectations breakfast! »

We stayed in room 229 on the back, it was very quiet and very clean. It was a pleasant walk past the heated indoor/outdoor pool to the breakfast room which had the news on and pretty much any breakfast food you could want. Little Margaret was the attendant and cook. She is a one in a million lady! Best Western should give her a good raise or a vacation on them. We will absolutely come back here and hope to enjoy her deliscious food and southern hospitality again. Unbelievable!

« Good hotel- above avg hotel breakfast »

We chose this Best Western as a convenient place to stay after a visit to the Natural Bridge Park. Good pet-friendly hotel with very soft sheets and towels. The free breakfast was way above average with enormous fresh blackberries and blueberries and many more healthy options than usual. Don't worry, they had bacon and waffles too.

    3
« Average Hotel - Indoor/Outdoor Pool and Free Breakfast »

Pros: Free Breakfast in nice spacious breakfast area with TVs and good amount of breakfast choices; interesting indoor/outdoor pool - fun to be indoors and then swim outside in the cool fresh air. Cons: The room we had a stuffy smell to it. The air conditioner was very loud. But for a quick 1 night stay it was decent.

« Best Western Plus is always a plus! »

Myself and my coworkers really enjoyed staying at the Best Western Plus in Lexington VA. This was our first time here but it will most certainly not be our last. We travel every week for business and we always go back to hotels we like. This Best Western is very clean and comfortable. Everyone was nice and friendly. The location is convenient right off the interstate. There are restaurants close by and it's close enough to downtown where you can enjoy the local restaurants.

    2
« 3 stars if room was clean and staff was friendliet »

BW plus. Staff didn't know what made it a plus when asked. Room was dirty. On checkout, staff doesn't smile, no good morning. When told about room, staff said they would make a note. No apology. "Was there anything else? No? Then you're good to go" was the response.

    2
« Not worth the cost »

No fresh towels provided without a special request. Trash left in the room. Beds not made. After notifying the front desk, we were supplied with towels and they took the trash but beds were still not made and no offer of a different room was made.

« Best Western Plus Inn »

Best Western Plus Inn at Lexington Virginia has clean rooms, very good bed mattresses,well-organized, friendly staff and a good free hot breakfast. They do have a indoor and outdoor pool that is well-maintained and clean.

« Very nice, comfortable hotel »

We stayed here for one night while on a road trip and were quite satisfied with our room and the facilities. The breakfast was quite good and should satisfy most people. There were plenty of choices and the staff kept it well supplied. If in the area again, I'm quite sure I'll choose to stay here.

    5
« Clean rooms and pleasant staff »

We stayed for 2 nights. The staff was super friendly after our 5 1/2 hour drive. The rooms were very clean. I would also note the the beds were comfortable. We were in for the weekend for the VMI Matricualation and will use this hotel again for our future stays.

    5
« Excellent the Second Time Around »

Another great stay at this property. Crisp and clean, good amenities, easy-to-access location...this is a good option for anyone visiting the Lexington, VA area. The breakfast buffet offers everything from scrambled egg and waffles to cold cereals and fresh fruit. A pool and work-out center are also available.

    3
« Outside better than inside »

Was disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel. I had no idea this hotel allowed pets in ALL rooms. I'm a pet owner that didn't travel with my pet or allow my pets on furniture. Our first room had dog hair on the comforter and pet stains on the floor. Lacked vacuuming and had water stain behind the wall paper in corner of room - very musty. We were moved to another room and the lack of vacuuming was worse. Actually through out the hotel vacuuming was clearly needed. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast room was roomy offered fresh berries and the usual cereals, juices, coffees etc. The front desk staff were okay, nothing special. They did move our room due to the pet hair etc.

    5
    « Very Nice »

We had previously stayed at a Best Western Plus in Pennsylvania. This one was very nice. The rooms were just a bit smaller than average, in my opinion, but very clean and nicely appointed. The beds were a bit softer than usual.

    5
    « Great experience »

We were extremely satisfied with our stay at this hotel, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, the breakfast area was spacious and had a wide variety of items available. The room was clean and fresh. Overall one of the better experiences we have had at a hotel. There are a number of things in the area to do as well.

« Great place to stay »

Our family enjoyed a one-night stay at the hotel. The staff was warm and friendly and the accommodations were very nice, as expected. The beds were soft and comfortable and made for an enjoyable night's sleep. Our children had fun in the pool and wore themselves out playing in it. My teenage son worked out in the well-appointed exercise room and had a great time there. The breakfast bar was good and above average for this type of hotel. We greatly enjoyed our stay here.

« Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge »

This is by far the best hotel I have visited in a very long time. Clean very helpful. Great Breakfast area and food can't be beaten. Lot's of fresh fruit. The lady's there go out of their way to make your stay wonderful.

    « An Innl with a View »

Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge is on a ridge and provides a lovely setting. We did not ask for a room with a view, but wished we had. Our room was quiet and well maintained. The inn is convenient to the highway and to the city of Lexington. We enjoyed a quick trip into Lexington to see the sights.

    « Recently Renovated »

Very clean, pretty, newly renovated and very nice staff; they also allow pets for an added fee.Great place to stay on a road trip or if you are visiting someone who goes to Washington and Lee or the Military school. VA horse show grounds just down the street.

    3
    « Beautiful setting »

Best Western Lexington, VA has a beautiful setting with the surrounding mountains and the hotel itself is very nice. The brickwork is grand and fits the area. The rooms were decorated very nicely and were clean. We loved that the rooms had a mini fridge. Coffee and juices, lemonade, tea were available all day which is a very nice feature. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The only issue was the rooms had a funny musty smell and the pool was down for maintenance. What hotel schedules pool maintenance in July??? If not for those 2 issues, I would have given it an excellent rating.

    2
« Pool was not working »

No one warned us that the pool was not in operation during our stay prior to arrival. That is why we booked this hotel. The front desk staff seemed like they didn't know how to handle my complaint for this during check in. We booked this hotel so my niece and nephew could swim in the pool after the 3 hour drive, but that didn't happen!

    2
    « Do not recommend »

We chose this hotel based on its excellent reviews and were sadly disappointed. Our room was filthy-- stains on the carpet, hair on the sheets, brown discoloration of tub, hair and dirt on bathroom floor. It was the first hotel I have ever stayed where I wore my flip flops into the shower because it looked too dirty to stand on. I also had to lay towels on the bathroom floor for my kids to stand on with their bare feet. The sheets did not feel clean, which kept us awake itching, and the air in the room was muggy and humid. The pools looked dirty, and appeared to have mold growing, so I did not let my kids go swimming. There was a lot of beer drinking going on in the pool area and outside in the parking lot. The only positive is that the hotel staff, particularly, the front desk staff, were very pleasant and personable. I felt this hotel was overpriced for the quality.

« Beautiful hotel great staff »

I made reservations at this hotel while traveling to Newport News VA for a Navy reunion. The staff Staff was pleasant and accommodating. All areas very. CleAn and neat! Breakfast room staff a pleasure!

« Great place to stay »

Upon arriving in the early morning hours after a long trip we were pleasantly surprised to find a pleasant woman at the front desk of a clean, well lit hotel. The room was immaculate and the beds were great, the bath was fresh and clean. The was no mustiness in the room or "hotel" odor. The following morning there was a simple breakfast in a clean well run restaurant area. All the staff was pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    3
    « A little disappointed »

I was tossed up between a few hotels and chose this one due to the fact it had an "outdoor pool". I was looking forward to letting the kids swim and laying by the pool. The pool does not have loungers, only a few regular seating chairs. The pool is part indoors/outdoors, which was fine. The indoor part was extremely warm and smelled of chemicals. My room was on the 3rd floor and smelled very misty. The air was heavy and moist. The room could of been cleaner, there was a blood stain on the shower curtain and the tub was dirty. The breakfast was alright, nothing special. There is an apartment complex right behind the hotel, so our view was of apartments.

    « 2day quick trip »

Booked here for the location to everything, free breakfast and indoor/outdoor pool. This Hotel is nice the workers are pleseant. The breakfast is good and plenty, but nake sure you get there before 10a.m or your out of luck. Only wish the hotel had views of the mountains. Overall not bad at all for price.

    « Family Roadtrip »

This hotel was well priced and had extra space and ammenties. The outside, halls, lobby and breakfast areas were very clean. They gave the kids rubber duckies, there's fresh oranges/ apples, cold complimentary bottled water and a refreshment area with lemonade, juice, tea, hot chocolate, assorted hot teas and coffee. The breakast had some great extras like fresh blueberries/ blackberries, fresh cut melon, and lots of options to top oatmeal, yogurts or cereals. I also appreciated the signs offering gluten free items by request. Service was great, staff were very nice. Hotel was quiet till the late arrivals slammed doors BUT that's not the hotel's fault. The pool area was dirty and water smelled fishy. Mildew collected around pool area and drains. The kids swam anyway and the gnats/ mosiquitos bit ALOT while I waited. The inside was too hot to sit in. We had Room 118 with 2 queens and a pull out sofa. Good size and at first glance seemed very nice. The bathroom vent fan DID NOT work. Which posed a HUGE problem when 5 people showered. The shower curtain smelled soured and tub was very dirty and streaked. Mold gathered in corners of bathroom and water spots covered the ceiling. The towels were thick and nice, pull out was terrible. Pillows were tiny and terrible. However, Sheets felt nice, blankets were comfortable. BUT because the showers heated our room the first night, the poor air conditioner could not keep up. We were very HOT all night. We turned it down to 66 and waited. It slowly worked and by morning it was cooled, but we spent the night sweating. Would I return, ummmm... if they service the pools, fix the bathroom vents, scrub those bathrooms and get better pillows then yes. It was a nice place for the most part. The staff were very nice.

« Great Breakfast, Helpful Staff, WiFi not great »

This hotel is only 5 minutes from the Lexington Horse Center, and a short drive from charming downtown Lexington. While at first glance, the breakfast looks like many at hotels of this type, a closer look reveals some extra touches: Small cartons of soy milk, in addition to regular milk. Bowls of fresh blueberries and blackberries in addition to the cut pineapple, melon and citrus. Plastic utensils and cups that are individually wrapped to stay very clean. Both hot and hard boiled eggs. Three different brands/types of yoghurt.....It all adds up to a much better than average breakfast experience. The rooms have refrigerators and microwaves, and are spacious and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful in response to any request or question. My only complaint is about the WiFi. It connected readily, but was never strong enough for anyone in our party to even download their email, let alone surf or stream. A password was given, but the connection was made simply by turning the device to WiFi.....no log in was requested, nor could I find a place to do so. I did not ask the hotel for assistance, because everyone in our party (about 6 rooms) had difficulty, so I gave up and used 4G instead.

    3
    « Family Trip »

The location was close to the places we visited and the exterior and lobby were very nice. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool and everyone enjoyed breakfast. My only negative comment would be that the rooms were listed as recently remodeled, but did not appear to be so.

« Great Rooms, Improved Continental Breakfast....Pool Needs Attention »

We stayed here last year and had a pretty good experience. So,we decided to stay here again on our annual trek down I-81. Called ahead and made reservations about a week or so ahead of time. Secured a ground floor room on the end opposite the pool. Reservatins were quick and easy. Pulled into the hotel around 4pm on a Sunday night. Check-In went quick and smooth. Room was large and clean. Beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet! ALL rooms are pet-friendly, but you would never guess that a pet had ever stayed in this room. CLEAN! Room comes with a mini-firdge, microwave, small coffee pot, blow dryer, iron/board, safe, flat screen TV, alarm clock, etc. A free mini rubber duckie even awaits you on the edge of your tub. Got kids who are going to fight over this one duck? NO problem...there are more for the taking at the front desk! Also at the front desk is bottled water, apples and oranges...all FREE of charge. Next to the office is a complimentary drink station with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, lemonade, iced tea and juice. There are a few vending machines here too. A bit skeptical about buying food snacks out of a vending machine that also has detergent/dryer sheets in it though...I would think it would pickup the taste/smell. Drink station is wonderful though. We thoroughly enjoyed it. In addition to the drink station, there is an exercise room and an indoor/outdoor pool included with your room stay. I didn't visit the exercise room, but on this trip we did make it to the pool. Pool has an indoor section and an outdoor section with an opening in the wall where you can swim back and forth. They have an handicap accessible chairlift and pool towels are conveniently located in the pool area. There are also restrooms in the pool area so you dont have to run back to your room/ Entering the indoor area of the pool, the smell of ALGAE just hits you in the face! It nearly took my breath away. Kids really wanted to swim, so I suggested going outside to the outdoor area in order to avoid the smell. The pool out here was still covered in algae along the edges and in the intake filters. Being outdoors, it did not smell as bad, but our swimsuits and hair wreaked like pond scum! I actually debated about paying to use the on-site coin laundry just to get the stench out of our swimsuits!! The next day, we did take advantage of the FREE continental breakfast that the hotel offers. We were a bit skeptical since last year we were underwhelmed by the breakfast offered here. We were pleasantly surprised to see many of our suggestions and concerns from our last visit were addressed. Breakfast was actually very good. The mini waffles were delicious. We loved the blueberry waffles with the blueberry syrup. Also, enjoyed the prepackaged cereals, yogurt, fresh blueberries, grab-n-go fruits (apples, oranges), eggs and bacon. The eggs were much better this visit, including the ones with cheese in them! In addition to these items, they also had bagels, donuts, grapefruit halves, hard boiled eggs, grits, oatmeal, granola, toast, mini muffins, danishes, fresh melon and a drink station (coffee, tea, juice, hot chocolate). VERY good breakfast selection. ONLY item I wish they had was grab-n-go bananas. Overall, we had a nice stay with this Best Western. Staff was all very friendly this visit. Room was clean and breakfast was very good. I would recommend it, but hope they address the condition of the pool before our next stay. It needs attention...chemicals/cleaning. Bottom Line: You will get a great value for your dollar here. Plus it is QUIET AND it is CLEAN. Close to I-81, I-64 and Hull's Classic Drive-IN theater!!

« Ties for first place of the best BW hotels we've stayed in »

We were here 3 years ago. It was ok. This time we were really impressed because of the renovation work that was done. And, we were particularly impressed with the front desk folks. They seemed genuinely happy people who enjoy helping the guests. The breakfast is one of the better ones served at BW and it is a nice "restaurant setting". The rooms are very well appointed. If you like BW, you'll love this establishment. Very clean. Close to downtown Lexington, VMI, and Washington Lee U.

    « Needs some cleaning »

I booked a last minute trip to Natural Bridge and stayed here based on the reviews. Pros: The staff was friendly. I had an issue where my credit card was billed after I had paid with Orbitz and that issue was corrected. Breakfast was free and surprisingly decent. The hotel is close to the main area attractions. Cons: I can't believe other reviews called this clean. I've stayed at many hotels and this was NOT clean compared to the hotels I typically stay at. The toilet seat needed to be wiped with antibacterial wipes before use due to some smear of who knows what. The tub (pictured) was visibly dirty. The pool smelled bad. I'm glad we brought rubber flip flops for the shower. The bed was so uncomfortable. We all woke up with sore backs. We could hear people loudly talking in the hall after midnight and before 7 am. In this type of country area, nicer hotels are impossible to find. Maybe this is good for a Best Western, but it doesn't measure up for me. I'm shocked at the good reviews. This is likely my first and last experience at a Best Western.

    4
    « Courteous Staff »

The entire staff at Lexington Best Western gave us very good service. When asked for information about surrounding activities, they were able to provide them with a smile. They truly were courteous hosts. In addition, the hotel was very clean and well kept. The showers were the most impressive in that the water pressure was strong. Some hotels we've visited in the past lacked the pressure needed to have a pleasant experience. Highly recommend when in the Lexington, VA area.

    5
« Clean and Good Value »

Hotel was clean and a good value, no issues in lobby or room. Breakfast was included and was fine. It was a single night stay. If I was in the Lexington area again I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Booked last minute trip to visit Natural Bridge and decided to stay in Lexington. Here are the pros and cons that we experienced. Pros Convenient to the interstate Nice front desk staff Free beverage center Free breakfast Free wifi Free parking Clean lobby Cons Air didn't seem to cool room Pool area was super small, only a handful of chairs Bathroom wasn't very clean Could hear people in room above us (kids, running and jumping) No place to sit outside by entrance or anywhere on hotel property Lots of gnats in our room Found Easter egg under our bed. It's July.

This hotel was nicely located close to where we wanted to be in the morning for arc trip home It was easy to get to the staff there it was great they were very friendly and helpful the room was clean and the beds were comfortable my only complaint is I think those hotels are overpriced when you are one of the last one is booking one of the last rooms available

    « Wonderful »

Enjoyed my stay very much. Everything was clean and working in my room. I had a king-size bed and a balcony, which was enjoyable to sit on since it was a warm early summer evening. There's a nice indoor/outdoor pool and an exercise room. Breakfast was quite good with all sorts of choices.

    3
    « Dogs »

This hotel allows dogs. We were next door to a room with a barking dog and a louder than normal family with a baby. When we got there there was a puddle under the attaching door, we assumed it was from the people next door leaving their swimming suits on the wood tile by the door. We were woke up at 6:30 AM by the dog barking. Talked to the maid about the puddle the next morning and she confirmed it was most likely pool water, but there should have not been a dog in that room.

    « Excellent Property »

This is a very nice Best Western Plus. The grounds are very nice and inviting. The building itself is a brick colonial and lovely. Our room was quite nice and very clean. It was nicely appointed as well. The free breakfast was good. There was ample parking for our truck and 32' trailer. If in the area again we will definitely stay here. It's a shame their restaurant is no longer open.

    « Great value »

I stayed at this location when in town for a horse show at the Virginia Equine Center. It was less than a mile from the facility I needed to be at daily, the staff was excellent, kind and courteous! the room suited my needs, the breakfast was excellent, the extra amenities in the lobby with drinks and coffee available 24/7 was lovely. The pool could use a little bit of work But that's not why I was there.

« Clean, comfortable and worth every penny. »

This was a great hotel that is well priced. Every thing was perfect, from the courteous staff, clean rooms, comfy beds and soft towels. The free breakfast had a lot of selections that accommodated our dietary needs. The indoor/outdoor pool was unique and large enough to actually swim in. Loved this hotel and would definitely stay again!

« Balcony made my stay! »

I stayed here for 4 nights while my daughter attended a local college soccer camp. The staff were all very friendly and the hotel was clean and well kept. I had a room on the second floor with a balcony. I believe there are only six rooms with a balcony. The balcony was such a great spot and had pretty views of the mountain in the distance. I loved being about to open the door to the balcony or sit outside. Made me feel like I wasn't just stuck in a hotel room. The breakfasts were good with fresh fruits- blackberries, blueberries and grapefruit in addition to mini waffles, eggs, bacon, muffins etc. They have cold waters on the front desk counter, apples, oranges and a 24 hour juice and hot chocolate. It was great to be able to grab a cold drive no on the way in or out. The pool was nothing spectacular, but it was wet and was a nice spot to cool off. They put cute little rubber duckies on the edge of the tub and offer more at the front counter. All in all a comfortable good place to stay. Very close to downtown Lexington and Buena Vista. If my daughter ends up attending SVU I am sure we will make this our go to hotel.

When traveling between NJ and NC, I have a wide choice of hotels to stay at to break up the trip. We choose to stay at the Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge because I have a great experience each and every time. I highly recommend this hotel!

My husband & I travel cross-country twice a year with our two small dogs, and we stay at Best Westerns whenever we can because of their reliably pet-friendly policies, comfort, amenities, and value. This one is the BEST Best Western. It is absolutely gorgeous, with many nice extra touches, such as the bottled water and fruit available at check-in, and the fun indoor-outdoor pool, the lovely grounds, the quiet and the pretty rooms. The pretty breakfast room offers options we haven't seen elsewhere, such as fresh blueberries and blackberries, and chopped nuts, that were delicious over Greek Yogurt--Jan and Mary really do a nice job in the breakfast room! We love staying here.

    « Amazing hotel »

I highly recommend staying here if your passing through. We arrived at around 530pm. Came in and got all set up front desk staff was amazing super accommodating from the beginning. Go to our room and the beds were super comfortable the room was clean and had no flaws also the room temp was perfect. My wife goes to the desk to have them watch our door during the night on camera if our son got up and tried to get out( he's an escape artist and has medical issues) they instantly said yes and took our numbers down if there were any issues (none at all besides he didn't wanna wake up the next day). Went to get breakfast and the food was great! So we check out and the desk was amazing again very courteous and friendly all around staff can't wait to stay here again !! Thanks for having a wonderful establishment!!! See yas soon!!!

    « Great Place! »

The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The hotel was super clean. The room was very nice. The pool area was inviting and great for kids. Breakfast was by far one of the best over any comparable hotel. The staff overseeing and serving breakfast was great and the food was fresh. They even had fresh berries and grapefruit. I would certainly stay here again.

« Excellent stay at the Inn at Hunt Ridge »

This was a first time staying at a BWPlus, and we were impressed. Room was standard size, but great beds and bedding. Very nice decor with good quality bathroom fixtures and finishes. Nice wide halls that smell good. Big dining room with higher grade breakfast offerings, fresh blackberries, Chobani yogurt and good granola, friendly staff kept it well stocked. Front desk staff very helpful with local directions and suggestions. Only complaint would be the location doesn't offer anyplace to go for a walk. Nice indoor/outdoor pool and exercise room.

    « stopover »

The hotel was very clean and had just been updated, the staff were very courteous and helpful in pointing out points of interest as well as places to eat. The room was great, and what a comfortable bed! Overall we had a good experience and would definitely recommend this hotel as a clean, safe place to spend the night or several nights.

« Great place at great rates »

The Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge is an excellent choice when staying in the Central Western area of Virginia. Its quiet, clean, well maintained and very reasonably priced. Its location makes is a little tricky to find but the effort is worth it.

    « Great experience! »

We met here for a brief family gathering. The pool, which goes indoors and outdoors was great! It was clean and fresh towels provided. Breakfast was great, well done. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff!

The staff was friendly, the pool was great but unfortunately the bed was horrible (felt like 20 year old lumpy spring mattress). Could not recommend this place strictly becsuse the mattress was so bad. mattress

« GREAT Front Desk Service »

My husband & I were BLESSED to be able to take a trip out West. We were tired coming into this Hotel.. The front desk gentleman, Andrew W. Carter was OUTSTANDING..He greeted us as if "we were family" coming home!! I want to thank Best Western for Andrew. First impressions are IMPORTANT and his KINDNESS was So Needed. Thank You Andrew W. « Musty Room Odor »

I stayed over at the hotel for 2 nights and immediately smelled s musty/moldy odor from the room. I asked to change rooms, but was told they were booked. I woke up the following morning with a very sore throat, red eyes, difficultly breathing and have been sick all week. The a/c unit also was not operating properly, also the outlets in the bathroom were not operational. Not a pleasant experience at all!

    « W&L graduation weekend »

The staff was amazing! The front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and dining room staff were gracious and incredibly accommodating. Jan, Mary, Stephanie and Margaret in the dining room were very attentive and professional. The reception area was decorated for graduation and they had free snacks and beverages available for those with busy schedules. The rooms were clean and felt fresh. Thank you for everything!

« Great Hotel while on the road »

After traveling all day we made a last minute decision to find lodging for the night. Choosing the Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge was a great find!! The clerk on duty, Andrew Carter, was very welcoming, helpful and in good humor. He made a great impression that only got better when we got to our room. WOW - a big room with two very comfortable queen beds, a desk, television, refrigerator, large bathroom - exceptional. The next morning we went down for breakfast and we were totally blown away with the choices. It was not the typical frozen waffles and cereal but instead fresh blueberries, strawberries, bananas and much, much more. Two very helpful ladies kept the area clean and were very friendly and accommodating. When I walked out to the car to leave, the birds were singing! Driving a few miles off of the interstate to this special hotel is so worth it.

« A lovely setting, out of town »

A very attractive hotel, with what appear to be mostly student-age staff. They were helpful, but I had to renew my key card each day of the stay or be locked out of my room. The hotel is too far from town to walk to conveniently. The room was clean and comfortable. There was convenient parking.

    5
« Very nice place to stay »

When we drove up and saw the hotel we were immediately impressed. We were also impressed at the entrance lobby. The bottle waters, fruit and snack station were very nice to have. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The work out room was adaquate and the pool was pleasant. The outside pool had leaves in it but we still swam in both the inside and outside pools.

« Value for the money »

This hotel is quite nice for the oney. The staff are always courteous. The breakfast is tasty and we had Margaret and Mary who worked in the kitchen find us items that had not been placed on the buffet to replace a flavor I didn't like. The breakfast has actually improved over the last several years we have been staying here. A big plus is they allow pets which we didn't bring but its nice to know we could have.

    3
« Not a hotel for light sleepers »

Honestly, my family did not spend a large amount of time in this hotel. However, after traveling several hours to get here, everyone was tired and ready to sleep. Our first floor room was at the end of the hallway and we could hear every single noise from the surrounding rooms, hallway and stairs to the upper floors. It sounded like the people in the room above us were stomping around and moving furniture around. The breakfast options the next morning were very good and we were quite pleased with the front desk staff and breakfast staff.

« Great option- Just ducky! »

Great stop on the way home from our road trip to Nashville! Pleasant personnel , spotless rooms, and great free breakfast along with a free coffee/tea bar! It has a unique indoor/outdoor pool and small fitness center. Reasonable rates and every guest leaves with a cute rubber duck!

    « Very Nice Venue »

My wife and I just stayed here for my 50th college reunion. Lexington Virginia has about 20 times the number of hotels than they did 50 years ago, most of which line the Lee Highway. This is the best one we have found. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are extremely comfortable. The location cannot be beat for visiting Washington & Lee, VMI or the Virginia Horse Park.

    « IMPRESSIVE ! »

Good Afternoon Fellow travelers ! We arrived Friday evening late on Graduation weekend to apparently get the last room in the place. At that point after 13 hours on the road in horrible rain and fog, we were welcomed into a comfortable warm lobby and checked it very quickly. Our room was end of the hall on second floor....very very quiet and much appreciated. We were both very impressed the next morning with the substantial breakfast offered in a lovely dining area. We chatted with people staying over for a 50th university reunion and really enjoyed that experience. As we were just passing through, we did not get to really experience all the hotel or surrounding area had to offer, but the beauty of the area is certainly evident and a place we would love to spend more time some day, Thanks to all for a much needed rest in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere !

    « BestWesternInnHuntingRidge Lexington Virginia »

Beautiful location, wonderful staff, friendly, helpful, professional, well trained. The lobby area was warm and welcoming, front desk personnel professional, warm, and welcoming. The breakfast area staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was very clean, food was delicious, hot and plentiful. The housekeeping staff was friendly, professional and did a fantastic job with the room.

    « Reunion Weekend »

This hotel is lovely on the outside and inside; the location is ideal as well. When we walked in the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. This hotel also allows pets which is a bonus and happy to see the pups come through the front door. Our room was spacious, well appointed and spotless. There were several events in the area this particular weekend including a horse show and I witnessed the staff encounter some challenges which they handled with graceful professionalism.

    « Lovely Lexington Retreat »

The B-W at Lexington was an ideal mountain retreat and "staging area" for our visits to Clifton Forge, Lynchburg, and Blacksburg as well as Lexington. The room was great and the breakfast also. The 24 hour coffee hit the spot.

« Great PLACE TO STAY »

LOVELY HOTEL SURPRISE ON THE ROAD! We were "walk-ins" and couldn't have been treated better. Highy recommend whether you're destination is in Virginia or you need a one night stay. Great location! Will return.

Thank you for a great breakfast - it was a welcome friendly start to my morning. Those ladies went out of their way to provide a well stocked and clean breakfast experience. The diversity of offerings was outstanding.

    « Great Balcony »

I really enjoyed the stay here at the Best Western at Hunt Ridge. I liked having the balcony since we had 3 in a room it was nice to have additional space to hang out. The breakfast was as expected and the staff was on top of any items running low. The hotel overall was clean and quiet.

    5
    « very nice room »

I really liked this room. It was very clean and a very good price. The location was very good and close to the interstate. The breakfast room was a little confusing to get to, but an employee was very quick to help me. Would recommend.

    « Clean and Hospitable »

We have spent too many nights (one is too many) iin hotels when things were not right and there was bandaid offered to fix a problem. Fortunately, upon arrival, there were no problems whatsoever!! This hotel was clean and smelled clean, newly renovated decor, the staff was friendly and accommodating and the bed was comfortable. Really all that was necessary and much more than was expected. We will stay here again and again!!!!

    « LEXINGTON GREAT WESTERN »

we had a lovely stay here. the hotel sits on a hill overlooking the mountains and is in a very safe neighborhood, i loved the view. hotel is very clean. breakfast was great, we used the swimming pool and it was very nice, not big bit the temperature was warm. very easy to get on and off the hwy. walmart is right down the street. and also gas station and restaurant. you will love this hotel.

    5
    « Comfortable Stay »

Hotel was clean. Comfortable beds. Great location, close to downtown Lexington and Natural Bridge. Good breakfast and 24-hour free beverage bar (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice, and water). Daughter loved the Indoor/outdoor pool. There was one crotchety older lady at the front desk who tried to scold me like a child when I reported a problem with the door, but otherwise the staff was very friendly.

« Nice hotel and exceeded expectations »

Nice hotel and deserves a look if you are looking for a new and nice hotel and can't get one in town. Clean and located in an attractive location. check it out. if you have kids or like to take a swim, the pool is nice.

    4
    « Great overnight stay »

We pulled off 81 and chose this hotel due to Trip Advisor reviews. It is very basic but met all of our needs. Clean and comfortable. Laken at check in was kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Only sore stop is woman at 6 am check out was not kind in the least. A little to angry to work a front desk.

    5
    « Huge rooms & soft towels »

This hotel is your must- stay in Lexington! Although off the beaten path, the outside is nice - not a typical hotel look. The rooms are very large, clean and modern. I was impressed with how soft the towels were! This made up for the older looking tub. The lobby & restaurant are also clean & fresh. Complementary juice, coffee & bottled water. The indoor pool area was chlorine city but kids had fun. Con: Very thin walls. We woke to noisy toddlers next door. Heavy feet and kids running on the floor above us. Ask for top floor to avoid this. Lexington is a pretty small town (no Starbucks) and some of the hotels we passed were pretty shady looking. Would stay here again.

    4
« Super clean, staff is passive aggressive »

So the rooms themselves were very clean. The breakfast was good. Parking is free and wifi is also. Location is good. My biggest complaint is really of the staff who was passive aggressive without needing to be. Other than that, I have no complaints.

    5
    « Overnight Stay »

Pretty nice hotel with large rooms, but could use a little modernization in bathrooms. The beds are comfortable and appear to have new clean linings. We paid for the room with refrigerator and microwave, but really not necessary as we probably won't use either. Kids can enjoy pool until 11:00 and fitness center until 10:00. Complimentary hot breakfast is typical and certainly average, but we're not fan of the complimentary breakfast offered by hotels. I'd give it a 4.5, but the stat is worth the $114.00/night.

    5
    « Great comfy place »

Always exceptionally clean, great breakfast including dairy free milk and gluten free bread, caring staff, convenient location. This was our second stay at this property and we will try to always stay here upon return visits.

    4
« Clean, convenient and dog friendly »

Room was clean and well maintained. Bathroom was very clean and offered various amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had many choices. Hotel had easy access to the highway. Dog friendly.

    2
    « Beds were terrible »

The beds sagged toward the middle. The breakfasts were great. The front desk was lacking except for the manager. The response to sagging beds was to flip the mattresses. It did not help. We endured for 7 nights. We received no financial compensation.

    « nice stay »

A nice place to stay. The room was large and clean. It was a quite stay and parking was not an issue. We took our 2 cats with us and there were no extra charge to have them. The breakfast place was nice and choices were the typical items on hotel breakfast bars. The ladies that cared for the bar were friendly and attentive to the items and making sure it was clean and stocked.

    4
    « Perfect Location - nice views »

We've stayed here several times over the past few years. The rooms are comfortable and clean; HVAC not overly noisy. Breakfast buffet has a good selection; nice feature having the waffles pre-made and hot (a lot less waste); they offer gluten free choices - just ask. My only suggestion is the pillow are not as firm as we like but not so soft as to prevent a good nights sleep.

    5
« A MOST!!!! High Class hotel at the Horse Centers Door step!!! »

I have stayed at this hotel for years and have always enjoyed myself. Over the last couple years they have renovated the entire hotel. The renovation look wonderful and they have queen beds now. They always offer top notch customer service, Jason, Deborah or Josh are excellent. The breakfast is better than most restaurants I have been to. They offer tons of fresh fruits, hot items, waffles, pastries, you will leave full and with a smile on your face. Jan is always fun to chat with while eating. I can't wait to come back for the spring horse show. Keep up the awesome work, best hotel I have stayed at.

« Great Location; Clean, Higher End Rooms; Nice Breakfast; Good Pool and Gym »

I am new to the Best Western Plus brand of higher end hotels. This hotel was in a convenient location with great amenities. There is a computer available to check e-mail and print off documents. The breakfast was wonderful full of choices (eggs, sausage or bacon, waffles, fresh fruit, both milk and soy milk, coffee, juices, etc.) The gym has free weights, cardio, and machines. The pool was warm at about 84 degrees inside. There is a connector to an outside pool which was blocked off due to the winter. I traveled here with my family (4 total). We stayed in one room and had plenty of space. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

    « Never Again! »

We chose this hotel as our overnight rest stop driving from Asheville, NC to New Jersey. We stayed at room 126 with stained pillow cases, short pieces of hair on the sheets. It seemed like the bed was made without changing the sheets. The mattress was sagging, so it was a horribly uncomfortable sleep. Also, there was a door in our room that would open to another room. Even though people staying there spoke in normal voices, it was as if they were talking right in our room. We woke up bright and early, due to counting the hours in that horrible bed and our next door neighbors waking up early, to grab breakfast included in our room rate. Coffee was like coffee flavored water and a bite from the waffles was enough to throw everything in the garbage and leave the hotel as quickly as possible. The price was much too high for a disgusting breakfast and even a more disgusting room. I will avoid staying at a Best Western. On the way from New Jersey to Asheville, NC, we have chosen Sheraton in Roanoke as our overnight rest stop and we have rested very well in a very comfortable bed with impeccably clean sheets for more than half the price.

    3
    « Meh... »

I was expecting more of this hotel based on booking.com reviews. I found it to be dated, not quite as clean as it should be and the breakfast was mediocre. We will go back to the Hampton Inn the next time we are in Lexington.

    « Bit of a let down really !!!!!!! »

After deciding that this would be our stop for the night it came down to picking a hotel and according to TP This was a good choice. Well I don't agree sleep quality to us was bad we took the option of a balcony room only to have noise from all surrounding room. The floors and walls a paper thin i recon. Sure it's away from the main road but this didn't help. The vending machines were empty and breakfast well we didn't. The highlights were Lexington it's self what a pure piece of Amercana we loved it. Highly recommend Bistro in Main was fantastic.

    « Clean, Convenient, Convivial »

My mother, daughter, and I stayed at the Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge while my daughter competed in a horse show at the nearby Virginia Horse Center. This was our second stay and I was even more pleased this time around. The rooms which were clean and comfortable for my last visit had been remodeled tastefully and with comfort in mind. My only suggestion to BW would be to place a mirror somewhere outside the bathroom, perhaps on the closet door. Otherwise, the furnishings were tasteful, attractive, and comfortable. I highly recommend this inn to other travelers. Friendly staff, clean accommodations and convenient location.

    « Enjoyable short stay. »

Located at 25 Willow Spring Road, Lexington, Virginia, USA & approximately 2 miles from downtown Lexington. Nice reception area with sofas, easy chairs, fireplace, large rectangular rug & impressive looking chandelier. Mezzanine floor. Disabled/wheelchair accessible. Family friendly & I am led to believe pet friendly too (on request). Staff pleasant, polite & efficient. Lifts (elevators) to upper floors. Well appointed rooms. Large beds, good quality mattresses & bedding with plump pillows. Granite topped bedside tables & tallboy. Ample free standing lighting in addition to ceiling lights. Carpeted flooring, easy chair, desk & wheeled swivel chair, free standing flatscreen TV, WiFi. Wall's decorated with framed prints. Bathroom well appointed, large vanity sink with granite countertop & large mirror. Shower with good water pressure. Good quality white towelling. Oddly tea/coffee making facilities located in the bathroom!! Spacious split level dining room. Self-service breakfast. Good selection of food. Limited hot food & also Continental-style available. Disposable paper/cardboard bowls & plates etc. Fitness centre & swimming pool. Ample car parking. An enjoyable stay. I would use this venue again. Recommended.

    « pleasant stay here »

Spent two nights here at this BW in Lexington. Very clean and comfortable motel. Little off the beaten path because it is not located on US 11 at I-64 but on Virginia 39 but only a few block away. Breakfast area was very large which is nice when it became busy. They also had not only coffee all day but various juices which was a nice touch. Staff was friendly and helpful with directions. Would recommend this Best Western to anyone coming to the Lexington area.

« A welcoming "home away from home" »

Lexington was the start of a week-long trip across Virginia, and this was a good choice for our first three nights on the road. Great location right off interstates 81 and 64, and a short, direct drive to the downtown area. Close to the Virginia Horse Center, lovely rural settings and places of interest north of town. The room was spacious and comfortable, but we noticed dust on some surfaces -- like the clock radio on the night table. When we reported some water accumulation on the bathroom floor, in the area of the toilet and tub, the desk clerk on duty that night said she was on by herself, the phone was ringing and couldn't address the issue just then. In the morning, we again reported the problem to the new person on duty who assured us she would see it was taken care of. (Water issue was gone when we returned later that afternoon and no more problems after that.) The breakfast room is a short walk (all indoors) to another section of the hotel. The sign in the lobby said to follow the signs to the breakfast room; except, there were no other signs along the way. Our room was on the first floor just steps from the lobby but was quiet and certainly convenient. Would recommend this BW Plus, especially for anyone on an extended visit, and would stay there again. A fun tip: If you're with family (of all ages), be sure and ask about the traveling rubber ducky -- either in your room with an accompanying card, or pick one up from the "flock" on display at the front desk.

« Very nice upscale Motel experience »

Clean comfortable quiet property. Breakfast was pretty standard cold fruit juices and instant eggs. Coffee was fantastic. Staff was very friendly and hardly noticeable. Rooms are interior hallway, quiet, up to date and spacious. Next to Horse Center, 3 min drive to campuses/downtown. I called for a reservation, was booked, so I went to hotwire and booked online, saving about 40$/ night.

    « Beautiful country. »

This hotel is located in western Virginia it what is often considered hunt country. Horse back-- chasing the foxes---tallyhoo and all that. The scenary is beautiful. Just down the road is the VA state park for the natural bridge. It is well worth seeing and an walk to get to.

« Quick visit to Lexington »

Great value for the price. Room was comfortable, very clean; exercise room was in good condition; choices at breakfast buffet are far more than offered at most other hotel chains. Condition of grounds and common areas are clean and well kept. Staff was very friendly, helpful and appeared to take pride in their hotel.

« Very Good one night stay with 85-pound dog »

This was our first stop driving south from Connecticut to Florida. As with LaQuinta in Macon, GA (our second night), we requested a room on the ground floor, close to an exit, using the on-line form. They delivered. Very pet-friendly: dedicated grassy "rest area" with waste bags. There is a Best Western (not "Plus") in town where we stopped first -- it struck us as a lot less substantial and less well-located than the property we booked. We'll make this "Plus" property our routine first stop heading south from now on.

    « B/W Hunt Ribge, Lex, VA »

I always enjoy staying at B/W. I stay at other chain Motels for the price, but I have not found a B/W I would not stay again. Can not say the same for other chain Motels. B/W should be prooud of their product. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE.

« Nice hotel in a nice town »

We went to the Best Western because of the discount coupon in the hotel guide. They were not accepting them that day as there was a large horse show in town and they were almost full but we were able to get a quiet clean and comfortable room at a reasonable price. The staff were very helpful and accomodating and the breakfast was also very good. Lexington is a beautiful town with many attractions and we plan on returning to check these out.

    « A Short Get Away »

The room was clean and smelled real good! The TV sometimes cut in and out, but the weather was really bad that night, and it was fine the next morning. The indoor pool was a lot bigger than any hotel pool I've seen! Great stay! Breakfast was good, too! Recommended!

    « Very nice motel »

Stayed at Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge for 2 nights in October. Well kept up, nicely decorated, clean rooms and bathrooms, very comfortable bed, usual breakfast. I really have nothing critical to say about this lodging except that the price is a little steep. The two nights for me and my wife, including taxes, was over $300. If I am in this area again, I would probably look for less expensive lodging, and if none were found, definitely stay here again.

    4
    « Comfortable stay »

This was our first night's stay on trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Comfortable stay, no issues. Easy access to highway, town for restaurants and local shopping. Usual breakfast bar items including a waffle machine.

    « Fall stay »

An excellent location with view of mountains from front of hotel. Breakfast was completely adequate, although the coffee could be more flavorful. A well-kept and well-maintained hotel with restaurant and bar on the property. A very spacious feel in my room and in the lobby.

    « Nice Hotel, but...... »

Checked into this hotel for a teacher's conference at VMI last week. The hotel itself is in a nice quiet location. I have asthma and chemical sensitivity so I called the morning of my arrival to request no chemicals when cleaning my room. When I checked in that evening with my friends, I opened the door to my room to be overpowered with a strong chemical smell. I had no choice but to stay the night and look for other lodging the next day. The smell from the sheets and pillowcases was so strong, it gave me an asthma attack within two hours. In addition, my door would not shut properly and I had to slam it to get it to shut. The next morning, I talked to the head of housekeeping who said she would re-wash the sheets. I went to breakfast. Breakfast was a bust. There was a large tour group there who basically ate everything in sight and left. This left myself and my two teacher friends with almost nothing for breakfast. The nice ladies were trying to replenish everything but we had to leave to go to our conference. The staff were friendly and tried their best to help me, but in the end, I had to go the Hampton Inn. It took me a full 24 hours to recover from the migraines and asthma issues. Sadly, I have to say I will not be back to this hotel.

Super clean, nice hotel. Staff is friendly. Rooms are great--fresh! If you're looking for a place to stay that's not grungy (and there's plenty of that around Lexington), yet won't break the bank, this place is super clean, recently updated, and much nicer than you'd expect. It's really nicer and a better-quality than you'll expect for the price.

The Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge is a great place to stay when visiting Lexington, VA. The hotel is close to local attractions, well maintained and very clean! The staff is very helpful and they have a very nice, free breakfast buffet. This will be our preferred hotel when we visit Lexington again.

    « Best yet! »

Clean, quiet, great location and great price. We've been on the road traveling through Kentucky, W Virginia and Virginia and have stayed at a different hote and various chains each night for the past 8 nights....this by far has been the best one yet. Absolutely no negatives for us. Even the continental breakfast was exceptional...lots of fresh fruit options in addition to the standard choices. 2 ladies working in the dining area were quickly refilling items and ensuring everything was clean. I will definitely return.

Conveniently located off I85. Nice clean hotel with good breakfast. Staff was very helpful. Have stayed here more than once. Next to a Walmart and Lexington Horse Center. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

    « Clean, Quiet Hotel »

We stayed at the Best Western Plus one night on our way to our destination. We were very pleased with our stay and decided to spend the night there on our way home. The hotel was easily accessed from I-81, it was clean & quiet with comfortable bed and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast included a variety of hot items as well as muffins, fruit, bagels and cereal. The ladies who set up the breakfast were very friendly and treated guests as if they were their own guests. We found the area to be immaculate on both stays. Tables were washed immediately when guests finished. We received an excellent rate on our first night but paid more for the second stay since it was Saturday night & that seems to be the norm; however, my husband called to check on a reservation and was given a quote. Since our plans were not finalized, he did not make the reservation at that time but as soon as our plans were complete he called back and was given a considerably higher rate by another employee. He told that person he was given a less rate earlier with our discount program but was told the second higher rate was firm. The only other incident that seemed a bit unusual was that a maid knocked and entered our room while I was still dressing at 9:00 a.m. I said check-out is 10:00 and we would be out at that time. She apologized and left. We placed the "do not disturb" sign on our door when we left the room to have breakfast. Several maids were in the hall and had begun cleaning as we left.

« I was really expecting something very special at the price we paid for rooms! »

I have stayed at several Best Westerns in the past (most recent Napa Valley) and the price per night here led me to believe that this offered something really great - thinking maybe a restaurant or bar at the hotel or a really nice lobby/reception area. When we arrived I walked in and thought you have to be kidding me right? There is absolutely nothing special about this particular hotel as far as I'm concerned. You can't walk to anything - there are no sidewalks leading out to the main road. We booked this location because Ruby Tuesday's was nearby, so we thought we could walk. We ride motorcycles and got showered and changed after checking in. Didn't want to get back on the bikes so thought we could just call a cab. They were so busy they told us it would be at least an hour before they could get to our location (Great area to start UBER)! So vending machine popcorn and a soda was our dinner. A young guy at the front desk said a few places deliver, but the choices were Chinese and pizza - pass. They do offer a very nice continental breakfast in the morning, but so do most places these days. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing out of the ordinary. I can honestly say that for the price I wish I had done some checking around. There was a Wingate over by Ruby Tuesday's that probably would have been a better choice for us. I just had higher expectations at this price point...and maybe that's the norm for this particular area? Don't know - but was just a bit disappointed. By the way - the pool is indoors, small and cold. So much for thinking there was a Jacuzzi somewhere...

« Our favorite hotel in Lexington, VA »

The Best Western Hunt Ridge, in Lexington, VA is spotless, the staff is attentive and cordial, the breakfast buffet is generous, with many choices, and it is located near interstate, but far enough away to be quiet. Beds are unusually comfortable.

    « Excellent »

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Exterior is classy looking and it gets even nicer in the beautifully appointed lobby...spacious, elegant, modern. Our room on the second floor was modern and fresh...not stale old smoke smell. Sometimes in hotels there can be a lingering stale old smoke smell even when the hotel says its rooms are non smoker. Not here. Fresh all the way. The room was very much to our liking.rapefruit I think the best part of the stay was the breakfast. I've stayed in several Best Westerns and this is the best I've ever seen. First, the eating and self service area is spacious and graciously appointed with several tables. The selection was not just your typical offerings. Two kinds of premade waffles, plentiful scrambled eggs and sausage, 4 kinds of juices, several cold AND hot cereal options with 6 toppings PLUS FRESH blackberries and blueberries. They even had halves of grapefruit. The pastries were plentiful. The best element of the breakfast were the three servers. Yes, three. They immediately filled anything that was used. I saw one lady replace a cold cereal box when one was taken. The only suggestion would be that the lady who checked us in would do so with the slightest smile, a bit of warmth. Pretty much got no welcome only a stern request for ID and credit card. She needs to learn just a tad of hospitality. I'm a Platinum member and was well pleased with this property and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. A side note, if you stay with Best Western you typically get a satisfaction survey request. I completed it and got a response from the general manager which is typical. The response is a form letter because I've received dozens but this response was personal in that the GM addressed my specific concerns. Yes, don't check any other hotels...stay at this Best Western.

The Plus after Best Western is well deserved.Clean rooms courteous staff with large rooms . Complementary breakfast a bonus well presented with plenty of choice.Highly recommended if visiting the area.

« Good breakfast choices and clean. »

The hotel is maintained well and sits on a hill with a pretty view outside the front of the hotel. Many items to choose from for breakfast, cold and hot items. 24 hour coffee and juices for guest use. Very clean hotel.

« Not your ordinary Best Western »

Very pleased with our stay. Usually a hotel snob, but this was picked by wife so I went with it. Very nice hotel given its brand. Great location off I-64 near Lexington, VA. Close to Downtown, VMI and Washington and Lee University. Positives: free wifi (note on Mondays the password changes-should have told me, but that's okay), room very comfortable and nice. Beds are comfortable and sheets are okay too. Towels were a pleasant surprise (wouldn't mind having them at the house). Free breakfast (note neg below), courteous staff, good coffee, added touch if you have kids with rubber ducky gift (kids loved it). Free parking. Microwave, safe and refrig nice touch in room. No tips allowed when they brought up extra towels. Pool. Negatives: See quick note above on wifi on Mondays. Breakfast is "something to eat" but not anything special. Nice separate dining hall which was good. TV is analog and a little fuzzy (should up the service here given nice flat screens). Pool states indoor which was technically correct but water was chilly but indoor air hot (wish pool was warmer). Great stay with family with kids.

« No room in the inn »

We had made reservations in advance for two rooms for my extended family of 6 during our return home from vacationing in eastern Tennessee. We wanted the rooms to be adjoining, if possible, but at least next to each other and on the same floor. The rooms that we were initially given were next to each other and on the same floor. Unfortunately, someone was in one of the rooms. The subsequent room that we were given was on another floor and the air conditioning was not working properly. We were given another room, but it was not very clean.

« Wonderful option in Lexington »

We recently stayed here with our dog and three year old twins. The room was huge, the breakfast was great, and the property was outstanding. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and there's an amazing view of the mountains from the parking lot! For the price, you can't beat this hotel in the Lexington area.

This is a first class hotel. Rooms are very nice and housekeeping first class. Staff is also first class. Breakfast area is excellent with lots of Choise. Wifi service great. Use of computers with printers also available. We highly recomend this hotel.

« Lovely spot to stop »

This BW has the feel of a hotel. Rooms were large and clean. They accept pets and I try to stay at Best Western with my dogs. During this stay another guest had left their dogs in the room unattended. The dogs were barking and carrying on and the guest could not be reached. The staff did everything they could to rectify the situation and were very concerned that I was being disturbed. Thankfully the guest came back and the dogs were quieted. Lovely spot in Lexington with the Virginia Horse Park just down the road. The Park is a great place to walk dogs if you are traveling with yours.

    « Great stay »

The rooms were nicely decorated. Friendly check in and easy to access off the interstate. The pool is indoor/outdoor and is very small but it would be great for small kids. It must be heated because the water was warm. There is a small excercise room. The breakfast area is pretty large, clean, well staffed and has the standard offerings: yogurt, cereal, bagels, fruit, oatmeal, waffles, coffee, juice. We had a good stay and I would recommend this hotel.

    « Overnighter »

We came down from Hershey to go to the Virginia Safari Park as a surprise for my God daughter. Hotel was unexpectedly beautiful as I was anticipating something else, having stayed in previous BW's. Hotel was exquisite in every sense of the word. From the lobby to the room. Plenty of parking up close. The room was spacious & the beds were quite comfortable. All in all, I wish I had a reason to go back and stay there again.

    « Old & Moldy »

My family and I stayed here for one night after visiting the Natural Bridge and it was extremely disappointing. The outside of the building is nice but when you get inside it's very dated. Our room had mold growing on the bathroom walls and ceilings and the most disgusting carpet stains I've ever seen in a hotel room in my life. We opted to walk around in our flip flops because of it. Housekeeping bangs on your door at 8:30 in the morning and wakes you up to see if you have left yet so they can clean the room even though check out isn't until 11am. Sadly that was the only staff interaction. When you tell the staff good morning they don't respond which is pretty sad considering some of them were members of the management team. The breakfast was less than desirable so we went out and bought food elsewhere. I've stayed at some pretty nice Best Western hotels before but this one definitely does not make the list. In all my years of traveling I would have to rank this one in the bottom 20% in all categories.

« Convenient to Virginia Horse Show Center »

Rooms were clean. Beds were firm, but not totally uncomfortable. Included breakfast was very nice with both hot and cold offerings. Smaller Indoor and outdoor pool areas. Very friendly and polite front desk staff. Rooms Appear to have been updated, however make sure your door shuts properly otherwise your key won't work. Seemed expensive for the area, but there was a horse show going on.

    « Over price Best Western Plus Inn ! ( AVOID ) »

The cost of this Plus Inn was not worth the price. Doors stick and the person at the registration desk was more concern about the upcoming VIP from Best Western that was to arrive the next day.Luckily, our party of 4 stayed one night. We also asked to have 2 rooms adjacent ,and upon arrival one party was on one floor and the other on another.

« Cleanest Pet Friendly Room I have ever stayed in »

This hotel was beyond excellent. The bed was comfortable, the assortment of pillows satisfied both my wife and me, but most of all the room was extraordinarily clean, even though it was a pet friendly room and we had our dog with us. They clearly used the reasonable pet fee to take extra time to clean the room. We will definitely stay here again.

    5
    « Girls get-away »

This was a clean, comfortable, and centrally located hotel. The reception desk was very friendly. We had a balcony room, and it was nice to have the option to sit outside and see the beautiful mountains in the distance. Will definitely stay there again when in Lexington.

    4
    « Great Location-needs a bit of an update »

Enjoyed staying here again (3rd visit) but rooms could use some TLC. Several electric items did not work properly and the most annoying was having to have the electronic door passes reset every day. Still the location is very convenient for our work and the scenery exceptional. Breakfast selection is good and front desk staff ladies very friendly.

    « Lexington Stay »

Overall the hotel and room was clean and served its purpose. The room itself looked a bit worn, but was clean overall except for the area of the floor between the bed and wall (about 1 foot of space), which appeared to not have been vacuumed recently. Also, the tub/shower appeared to have a light lighter off soap scum, and the shower head was leaky.

« Stay away from third floor »

Sounds like helicopters are landing on the roof. Obviously an issue with something mechanical on the roof. Water is shaking in a bottle, seriously. Front desk cannot help us. Rooms in the 320's, stay away from these rooms

« Great Place to stay »

Stayed there two nights with my family while on vacation. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was good and the overall experience was very positive. I would definitely bring my family here again.

    « Great place »

My wife and I were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary. We chose the Best Western Plus in Lexington Virginia to stay the night. The property is beautiful, a great breakfast, and a very helpful and friendly staff. Elise the manager on duty went out of her way to making our stay comfortable. The guest services were awesome and the breakfast staff was friendly and accommodating. They happy to serve. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in the area.

    « Absolutely wonderful!!!My family didn't want to leave. »

Fantastic stay, extremely friendly and welcoming staff, clean, neat, pretty rooms, and the nicest free hot breakfast we have ever seen (delicious bacon, eggs, fresh fruit salad, fresh blue berries and black berries, pastries, yogurt selection, oatmeal toppings, multiple juices, the list goes on and on, and well staffed, they kept it well organized). Room was quiet, perfect temperature and comfortable beds. They gave my exhausted kids free little rubber duckies at the desk-they just loved it. We didnt get to try the pool or exercise area because we got there so late, but it had an indoor/outdoor pool, and we also saw that it was pet friendly, but it was so clean and fresh, you would never have guessed it. I am afraid that they have ruined us for the rest of our 3 week road trip. The kids have already decided no other hotel is going to be able to to it.

    « Nice property & friendly staff »

We spent two nights in this property in late July 2016 and would return to this property if we had the need to spend time in Lexington, VA again. We had also considered the Hampton Inn, but had concluded that the premium in price for being 1.5 miles closer to the edge of town wasn't worth the extra money. The hotel was easy to find and the exterior and lobby area were attractive and well maintained. Rooms were typical chain in layout and decor and ours was clean and functional. Other than breakfast and the 24 hour coffee/tea bar we didn't sample any of the other features of this property. We DID appreciate and enjoy that coffee/tea bar, vs the typical mediocre at best coffee hot water maker that has proliferated in American hotel/motel guest rooms (and yes, IF you didn't want to make the short trek downstairs, there was one of those obsequious machines in the room). Freebie hotel breakfast bars are often more miss than hit and that was our overall judgment of this BW. Nothing was bad and nothing was particularly noteworthy either. Although the breakfast bar was relatively spread out, crowding and accessibility was somewhat less efficient than most properties and made for a somewhat annoying experience. Of course, Murphy might have been at work and possibly everyone in the hotel showed up en masse at the same time. After day one we opted to visit The Southern Inn for their Sunday brunch in lieu of "free motel food. A great option if you are willing to spend the money. Having visited a few BW properties over the years, this BW left us with the impression that BW had upped their game ... at least at this location. Unless you are looking for a more boutique, upscale property, you won't be disappointed with your stay here.

« Great Time in Lexington, VA »

My husband, three grown daughters and I stayed overnight on a trip from Philly to an Ashville, NC church conference. The rates were extraordinarily good - we stopped at a VA Welcome Center and used a coupon from their free hotel booklets. The room was clean and beds comfortable. This was a suite - two queen beds and 1 sleeper sofa - which slept 5 adults comfortably in one room. The fitness center was adequate. We can't comment on the pool- it was a bit crowded, so we didn't swim. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I can remember enjoying. Great variety: hot food, make-your-own waffles, yogurt, an instant oatmeal and grits "bar", fresh blueberries, fruit salad, and more. The dining staff were very helpful - in fact, every employee we interacted with was very pleasant. The only improvement I can suggest is to install an exhaust fan in the bathroom. We had a terrific, albeit short, stay and would gladly stay there again.

    « Wonderful service »

For a motel at this price point I've not had many better experiences in three decades of traveling on my own. My wife and fourth month old recently stayed at the BW at Hunt Ridge (there are two BWs in Lexington, so make sure you know which one you are staying at). We stopped after our son had reached his limit for spending time in the car. Because we didn't have a reservation we were fearful that we'd pay an arm and a leg to stay the night. However, the gentleman who was on duty at the front desk went out of his way to find a room that fit our needs at a price that fit our budget. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. It's true that the television didn't offer HD channels and I'm sure it had fewer channels available than you'd find at other motels, but we really didn't care. After a long day of driving a comfortable bed, a small, well maintained pool, and terrific customer service were far more important to us. I'd definitely stay at this BW again.

« Wonderful, wonderful trip at a lovely property. »

My wife and I traveled for a total of seven nights at four different hotels across 2 states. Out of the four, this one was HANDS DOWN my favorite during our whole trip. The ambiance of the hotel made it feel like some beautiful antebellum home set in the mountains. We not only got the room we wanted, but we had a patio to sit out and enjoy the view of the mountains (we enjoyed it the afternoon we arrived, and with a cup of coffee the following morning!). The bed was perfect, clean in every way, and the furnishings in the room were beautiful. The little touches, from the rubber ducks to the 24 hour beverage bar (not just coffee....iced tea, lemonade and juice!), made this worth every penny we paid. The breakfast buffet was wonderful; it had a restaurant feel and a multitude of great foods (the cheese tray and the homemade blueberry waffles w/ blueberry syrup were my favorites), and the lady who was working was incredibly nice. The staff was very nice that we encountered, especially the breakfast attendant and the housekeeping manager. It was very clear that they were well trained and serious about their positions. The only thing that ever so slightly bothered me was the inability to give me a receipt at check out. The receptionist told me that because I booked through an online system (Hotels.com Silver Member) she would be unable to provide me with a receipt, and that I would have to contact them for an itemized statement, something I needed for expense purposes. Not the end of the world, as this may very well be true, but it has never happened to me before. The room was prepaid, so I'm guessing this had something to do with it. Just thought it was odd. A great experience. My wife and I are actually talking about coming back in a few weeks when we are back in the area. I can't wait for next time!

    « Clean and Comfortable »

With convenient access to and from the interstate, this hotel offered clean accommodations, comfortable beds and a good breakfast. We had a room with a balcony which gave us a fairly nice view of the surrounding mountains albeit over the parking lot. The only problem we had was the front desk employees. They were not very friendly or helpful and they took frequent smoke breaks... right outside the front doors. So, you had to walk through that smell to get to the lobby and, unfortunately, our third floor balcony was close enough that we could smell it even up there. Obviously, if you're a smoker this won't bother you but if you're not. it's quite annoying.

    « New York Trip »

Beautiful property, I had been driving since my trip began on Thursday and we stopped on Tuesday evening. The bed was wonderful and I enjoyed the shower. Our room was perfect. My nephews enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool even though we did not get here when we expected. I loved the idea of the the 24 hour complimentary coffee/juice bar. The breakfast is unbelievable. This was the best value for the money. I will not hesitate to stay here again.

Convenient location & off the highway for a little privacy. Quiet. Very near a large Walmart for quick pick-ups. Our family had 2 adjoining nice size rooms whichwasvery convenient for all of us, especially the young children who could easily move from room to room.

Conveniently located near the interstate, restaurants, & Walmart. Rooms are very nice, clean, and quiet. Hotel was quiet considering the amount in children that were in the hallways. The hotel was very clean and all the staff members were all subperb! I will stay at this hotel every time we come to visit VMI or whenever me and my family are in Lexington Va. I do believe this hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in over the past years I have been traveling. Neat and clean for the moment I walked in the front door. Kind and very helpful people at the front desk. I have always been made comfortable and safe. The breakfast in the early morning was well stocked with hot and cold food.Well maintained and so clean.

The room was large and clean. Parking was ample. It was 100 degrees outside, and the room was cool, but not too cool. Coffee is just off the lobby, but the breakfast room was far down a remote hall and was very good We liked the little rubber ducky in the bathroom.

« Great place for a great price »

We stayed one night here. We loved the indoor and outdoor pool option. The breakfast was perfect and my four young kiddos had a blast. The hotel was very clean and definitely in a different league from plain old best western hotels. Strongly recommended. I would avoid a room on the first floor on the breakfast and pool side since there would be a lot of people having to come past your room. We were on second floor and it was very quiet.

    4
    « Nice. »

Nice, very clean, cool air. Staff was very nice, from maintenance, to housekeeping to breakfast staff, all of them were friendly and asking if they could do anything for you. Breakfast was good, waffles, eggs, sausage etc... Only slight issue was humidity in the room had to be at about 98%. Everything felt damp from the towels to the pillows...even my slippers i slip into in the morning. I did notice that there were not any vents in the bathroom which nay have contributed to this.

    « Nice location »

Very friendly and helpful from the front desk staff to the maid service. The hotel has a convenient location. My only complaint would be that they don't offer a multi grain bread at breakfast. Pool was nice with an indoor/outdoor combo. Room was clean. Staff was exceptional!

« quietest hotel I have ever stayed in! »

my husband and I stayed here for 8 nights in JUly. We didn;t hear one sound all week. The rooms were immaculate also. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful . The breakfast was good-scrambled eggs, bacon, waffle maker, fruit, yogurt, muffins etc. The hotel is the closest hotel to the Virginia horse center which is very nice. you can watch horse jumping and riding there for free. The hotel is only about 2 miles from the town and near to several good restaurants. There is an indoor outdoor pool also. We will only stay here when we visit the pretty town of lexington.

    « Nice hotel »

Very friendly and helpful front desk. They gave recommendations for restaurants and instructions getting around town. Rooms were very clean and our room at least had the very best rollin shower I have used. This sounds funny, but it isn't when the bathroom floods or you have to twist and turn to get wet. The free breakfast was fine. Nothing special but a good selection of food. If we are ever in the area again we will stay here.

    « Good decision »

Room was clean and comfortable. No vent fan in bathroom made for a sauna and peeling paint on the ceiling. Housekeeping kept turning off the AC so when we returned at night the room was hot and stuffy. Amenities was good. Never ate breakfast so I can't review.

    « Excellent hotel »

Discovered this hotel since we were traveling I-81 & searching Tripadvisor for potential places to stop for the night. Called ahead to see IF a reservation would be needed for the night as we were expecting to stop in that area in a few hours. Elise was very nice and said that she had plenty of rooms available & even offered us a $5 off coupon. When we arrived at the hotel, we asked to see a room before booking. We also requested a pet-free and non-smoking room. We were informed that all rooms had pets in them at one time or another since it is a pet-friendly hotel. Elise assured us that the rooms were very clean & took us to take a look. Room was nice. Not large, but not tiny either. Décor was attractive and comfortable. Room was equipped with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer, desk and a nice flat screen TV. I believe there was an iron/board in the closet too. Bathroom had a nice shower head and even a patriotic rubber ducky (Fourth of July weekend) that was FREE to take home with you. Room smelled clean with no detectable pet odors. No stains either. Luggage dollies were available to help you bring your luggage in from the car. Elevator available for upper floors. The room was comfortable and quiet. However, the view from room was nothing special, an apartment complex. Room was clean with the exception of a used washcloth that we found hanging over the shower rod. We brought it to Elise's attention & she immediately offered to change rooms for us. That was nice. However, she was a bit snippy about the fact that I had brought the DIRTY washcloth down to the lobby in a "dirty" trash can. I did not like being chastised about placing the dirty trash can down in her clean lobby, especially since they were the ones who left a DIRTY wash cloth in our "clean" room! When we checked in, we were informed that they had a continental breakfast that was included in our room rate, which was VERY reasonable. They also had a FREE refreshment bar next to the lobby. It had a microwave and several beverages. It had coffee, hot chocolate, hot water, tea and Florida's Natural juices (orange, apple, lemonade, sweet tea). There were a couple of pay vending machines there too that had snack foods and odds-n-ends in it, like medication/laundry supplies. In the lobby there was a basket of oranges that appeared to be free as well. Also in the lobby were several displays of the rubber ducks that had signs on them to take one home. There was also a small barrel of ice cold water that appeared to be free for the taking as well. On site they also have coin laundry and a nice indoor-outdoor pool. Pool has a cut out that allows you to swim from the inside to the outside portion. It was really neat, but was really full that night we were there. It was also very warm inside the indoor pool room. Upstairs on the second floor they also had a couple of computers with internet connection that I noticed. The next morning we went in search of the FREE breakfast. It was NOT easy to find. It is down past the pool. You have to turn down a hallway before the pool & laundry room, go through a little corridor, past the restrooms and around a bend to find the restaurant. They definitely need better signs directing you to the restaurant. The restaurant area itself was VERY nice. It even had a large screen TV to watch the morning news while you ate. Lady working the buffet was nice. Food on the breakfast included both HOT and COLD foods. They had cereal cups, bagels, muffins, danishes, bread/toaster/jelly/peanut butter, apple sauce cups, cheese cubes, apples, oranges, pears, grapefruit halves, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, a make-your-own waffle station, oatmeal cups/packets, instant grits, granola, fresh blueberries/blackberries/melon, dried fruit/nuts, Activia yogurt, Chobani greek yogurt cups, milk, coffee, teas, hot chocolate, juice, etc. It was a pretty extensive breakfast bar. However, most of the food was sub-par. We did enjoy the lemon poppy muffins and the sausage patties. Cook-your-own waffles were chewy and bland. Eggs were bland. Blueberries were excellent, but pears were hard as rocks. Overall, a nice hotel with several perks. I would probably stay here again. Large FREE parking lot, just off the interstate. It appeared clean. Stay was comfortable and quiet. It is close to both I-81 and I-64. Easy on-off. Even though it allows pets, we had no problems with the cleanliness of the beds/carpets. AND yes, we saw lots of dogs while we were there, but never heard a peep! Breakfast bar is an added benefit for those seeking a FREE breakfast, but I will probably go to the Waffle House around the corner next time instead. Pool was inviting. FREE refreshment bar was excellent for late night beverages! I enjoyed the decaf coffee & large selection of flavored creamers. Note: Hull's is a neat old drive-in theater just a few miles up the road IF you are looking for something to do if you are passing through on a weekend night! We will definitely plan on taking in a movie next time since we discovered it this time!

Very friendly staff, indoor/outdoor pool was great for our young children, the rooms were very clean and well kept. The hotel was pet friendly, but you would never know by how clean it was kept. We will definitely staff again!

Great stay! Hotel clean, beds comfy, breakfast had many choices, free WiFi, close to interstate, 6 and 7 year old loved the pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby was decorated for July 4th and they had little patriotic ducks for the kids.

« Really surprised at positive reviews »

We love Lexington, Va. Our son is a 90's graduate of Washington and Lee University, and we always try to make Lexington a stopover when we are traveling through the area. We recently were making our way back from NYC to our new retirement home in South Carolina, and used priceline to stay in Lexington. I really need to say that we travel over 90 days a year, and try to give feedback to others if things are wonderful, which they usually are, or if there were issures. We definitley could not recomment the Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge. We here an hour and half before the written check in time. The parking lot was totally empty so we went to check in. The lady, name I will not mention to be fair, was outside smoking, and seemed annoyed when she had to go inside to check us in. She immediately said check in is at 3:00 and you'll need to return. We are in our 70's and it is 90+ outside. We asked if there was a room available since the place seemed deserted at this time? So we walked in the lovely town of Lexington for 1.5 hours. Checked in, went to our room and asked if we could be moved to another room. Answer was NO! Asked 3 seperate times. The room had huge areas of small brown blotches between the beds and by the bathroom. We weren't sure if it was dried blood or something other? Not feeling well, we covered the floor with towels, and feeling exhausted from the heat, fell asleep. We took pictures of the large areas of stains, and went to the new attendant, who was very polite; direct opposite of our earlier situation at check in. We were too tired to remove all of our belongings and carry them to another room, and simply stayed with towels on the floor. Hotel management needs to properly check all rooms for cleanliness and also to train all personnel on customer care!

« Excellent hotel in a beautiful history area »

Rooms are spacious, breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was lemonade in the common area. I would stay here again the next time we are back in the area. They allow pets but we only heard the dog next door to us because the owners were at breakfast.

    « Excellent Hotel »

We stayed one night on our way to Virginia Beach. This hotel is really nice, the staff were helpful, friendly and always smiling. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good with different options. The fitness room is a little small with not much equipment. We only stayed one night so the size and variety of the equipment wasn't really an issue for me since I only used the treadmill. This hotel is located next to a Waffle House which was the cleanest Waffle House I have ever been inside. The area is a nice quiet area right off I-64. This hotel is a pet friendly hotel.

    « Above and beyond »

Amazing staff, comfortable beds, and super clean. We have stayed in many higher "brand" hotels without the comfort or service that this little gem provided. They seem to have thought through everything you might need and have it at your finger tips.

« Great place, great value »

I first stayed here 15 years ago. It has been a great stay every time. They keep up with things. It's almost like staying at a new hotel. Rooms are great, bed is great, breakfast is great. Easy on of Interstate 81.

« Always clean and comfortable »

Other than the desk clerk who looked like an extra in a low-budget horror film with personality to match, this hotel always delivers. I have stayed many times for horse shows and as a business stopover. The rooms are always clean, beds comfortable, and bathrooms large enough and clean. Lots of parking in the front of the hotel, small breakfast buffet on each floor, and pleasant, spacious lobby suitable for meeting friends or business clients. Safe and convenient location with a killer Waffle House a block away for that early morning breakfast when no place else is open.

« Great hotel in Lexington VA »

I typically stay at Hilton or Marriott hotel chains. My nephew graduated high school and the ceremony was held at VMI. Due to this location, my normal hotel brands were not convenient or did not have enough room for my family of 5 (2 adults, kids 17, 12, and 9). After researching all the hotels in the area, I decided on the Best Western Inn Plus at Hunt Ridge. I travel several times a month all over the US for work and I must say this hotel was great! The rooms were clean and spacious, hotel lobby was inviting and the complimentary breakfast buffet was awesome! I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are in the area. I have high standards and this hotel met all of my expectations! Great job to the entire hotel staff!

    « Worth the Stay »

My wife and I were travelling to DC from Augusta GA and decided to break the trip up and stay one night in Lexington Virginia. We were glad we found this place. It was clean, comfortable, and we even had a balcony to walk onto. The Staff could not have been nicer. I enjoyed the breakfast and coffee bar in the lobby as well. We slept like a baby that night. I thought this place was a steal. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend it. Great Job Guys!

« Nice hotel with good features »

We stopped here on our way to OBX. It was very easy to find as there are signs on and off the highway. Our room was clean and a good size. The breakfast provided was very nice and always well stocked. My kids enjoyed taking a swim in the pool after being in the car all day. All in all a good hotel to stay in for a night or two. I would definitely stay again.

    5
    « Comfortable, and Clean !!! »

Excellent breakfast choices, friendly, clean, awesome customer service. Ask for Deb or Josh !! You will find this area full of history, very kind local people. You can't miss the beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Motel sets in great location near everything.

« Nice hotel in the Blue Ridge Mmountains »

Nice Hotel in Lexington, the Position is round about 1 mile from the Highway on a hill, so there is no noice coming from the traffic, The front desk staff is very friendly and helpfull, to give recommondations arround Lexington. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. When we will come again in this Region, we stay here!

« No place to eat »

This is a nice hotel although about 4 miles off the interstate with lots of turns. No on-site restaurant so plan to eat ahead of your stay if the weather is bad or you don't like to drive in the dark.

    « Nice place »

Very nice place warm and comfy only problem i had was i stayed two nights there and my first night i had two unopened bottles of soda in the room i came back the next evening to the room and house keeping had thrown them out. I went and made a complaint to the front desk and they just blew me off and did not care and said oh well.

« My Home Away from Home »

I have family in the area and stay at this hotel several times a year when I visit. The management and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I feel that this is my home away from home. The amenities are also a nice touch. Free bottled water and, of course, those crazy ducks. I have quite a collection now.

    « Great Hotel »

This hotel is in a great location to attend events at VMI. The hotel is very clean, staff is friendly and there is a large dining area with a complimentary hot breakfast. There is a pool and fitness center, It is located near restaurants and shopping.

« Nice place when passing through »

I stayed here with my 3 children after visiting the Virginia Safari Park. It was perfect after a day at the park...rooms were clean and the indoor pool was a great way to end the day. Continental breakfast was included which was also a plus. I recommend this location for anyone passing through.

Very nice for a Best Western. We stayed just as a stop on at trip from Michigan to Virginia Beach. The hotel and grounds was very nice. Breakfast could use some sprucing up. But overall it was a great place to stop.

    « Love This Hotel »

This was an enjoyable stay. The staff was helpful and courteous. The location was convenient and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was hot and there were different choices each day. We were greeted by all employees and asked if everything was okay on a daily basis. Will stay there again.

    « it was nice »

nice place but a place to eat was not across the street more like 2 blocks away, breakfast was a treat. Nothing outstanding about it for the cost. Fancy lobby, fancy outside but average rooms. They were ,clean but the bathroom was in need of some repair work. Grout missing by tub. a few other things in need of repair It was close to the horse center in Lexington. Staff were friendly and had a nice smile to greet you .

    « Surprise gem! »

Last minute hotel choice. Outstanding room for a fair price. Breakfast room and breakfast great - finally a hotel that realizes its clients need a room large enough to navigate and eat comfortably. We wished we could have needed to stay more than one night. Will absolutely remember this hotel in future travel.

    5
    « A gem. »

Stayed here a few years ago. Has been updated to conference center and restaurant is gone. Feels like real hotel. Attentive staff. Animal friendly so be careful where your room is. Rooms clean and comfortable with a refrigerator. Plan this as a stop whenever we're near here.

    5
    « Great Experience »

My sister, brother and I stayed for 2 days so we experience Lexington. The hotel reps were absolutely wonderful, especially one named Josh. Ck-in and out was fast & easy. The room had great, comfortable beds and all was very clean. The breakfast offered free included eggs, Canadian bacon, waffles with a variety of syrups, fresh grapefruit, juices, coffee, tea and more. The Only problem was no real butter, which surprised us. Close to everything, easy access. The price was right. Great exercise room and pool, with nice clean towels. Would definitely stay again.

    5
« Very clean and nicely staffed »

From front desk to housekeeper, staff was extremely attentive and pleasant. Room was very clean and updated. Good food and area to eat breakfast. Really well done. Pet friendly, but everyone's pets were quiet (and their owners cleaned up after them). A great place to stay and convenient to everything in the area.

    4
    « Nice overnight stay »

Stopped here on our way to Florida. Hotel is a bit dated, but staff was friendly, room was clean. Front desk gave us info on a nice place for dinner. Room was quiet and that's important to us when traveling long distances. Breakfast buffet was replenished, and was decent. Would stop here again, for an overnight.

    3
« Good clean hotel, slightly dated. »

The pictures of this hotel looked really good and I booked on the road from Asheville NC to Washington DC. In actuality the hotel is good, just a little dated. The room was a really decent size and comfortable and ok for a one night stay. The outside of the hotel and grounds were definitely nicer than the inside but not a bad experience. Lexington itself hasn't really got a lot going on, so unless your are coming for the horse centre I wouldn't really recommend.

    5
« Quality of personnel and property - a winning combination »

We had planned to stay at this property one night on our trip south. The staff were so accommodating, the room so comfortable and the countryside so welcoming, we decided to stay two nights. First the staff. The check in personnel were friendly, knowledgable of the area and very efficient. Later that afternoon, I was doing some wash and the dryer was not drying very well. Rather than just keep plunking in quarters at a dollar a plop, Josh at the front desk OFFERED to take my clothes and dry them in the housekeeping dryer, and then called me when they were done. That's customer service! Our room had the appearance of being new, very clean, well appointed with all the normals (flat screen TV, microwave and refrigerator), and had a beautiful balcony where we could sit out and enjoy the vast green rolling hills. (Lexington is a beautiful little town.) The bathroom was spotless. There was a nice fitness room, pool and spa, though we did not utilize any of those facilities. When we decided to stay a second night, our balcony room had been previously reserved, so the hotel staff moved our things to another room on the same 3rd floor, just as clean and beautiful as the first one, only without a balcony. We would definitely stay at this property again.

    4
    « Overnight stop »

Very nice overnight stay for the money, staff very nice, helpful & knowledgable about the area. Room was clean, well appointed with microwave and refrigerator hidden in a nice cabinet. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet ( even though it was close to the elevator).Continental breakfast buffet was continuously refilled staff very attentive, asking if there was anything else that they could do or if we wanted or needed anything else, very social and pleasant. Only downside, the only mirror was in the bathroom, which makes it a little more time consuming waiting for the bathroom just to do hair & makeup, but we will stay here again!

« We had a phenomenal experience at this hotel. »

Upon checking in, I found Jonathan Burns to be extremely professional and helpful. As I was checking in two rooms he offered us adjoining rooms which made our experience that much nicer for my son to go between our room and his grandparents room. We utilized the pool both that night and the following morning after breakfast and always found it very clean and fully stocked with towels. The breakfast offerings were diverse enough to accommodate a picky eater and someone with an allergy. Jan down in the breakfast room kept everything tidy and fully stocked. Upon checking out Jonathan gave us waters to take with us which came in handy as we had a flat tire on the way home. A few weeks before this trip my son and I had stayed in a Westin in Massachusetts. His comments as we left the Best Western Plus in Lexington I think say it best. ?Both the Westin and the Best Western are nice, but the Best Western also has nice people.? Every employee we saw had a smile on their face and made you feel welcomed. I highly recommend this hotel!

    « Nice clean stay »

The outside is beautiful..the inside was average. However the room was clean and comfortable. I was pleased with my two night stay. Breakfast was average but free. I would stay here again. I had some noisy neighbors the second night.

« Better Than Most in Lexington, Va »

Most of the hotels in Lexington are bad! This one is decent. Breakfast is lacking, other than the self-made waffles. No turkey bacon or turkey sausage. Very nice countertops/table tops in guest rooms, but no HBO or NFL Network!

    5
    « Awesome Hotel »

We stayed here during horse show. It was so convenient to the show grounds. The staff was excellent and helpful, and the kids loved the ducks. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast was fantastic! They had excellent Internet service. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

    5
    « Comfortable and clean »

I recommend the Best Western PLUS Inn at Hunt Ridge, Lexington, Virginia. Positive service, clean comfortable room, close to the interstate, Washington and Lee University and VMI, and close to amenities.

    5
« Good value. Nice hotel. »

The hotel rooms and lobby were clean and inviting. Our room was comfortable and the bath was updated. The breakfast bar gave a great variety of fresh fruits, waffles, eggs, sausage, and cereals (hot & cold). Also, it was very convenient to VMI.

    5
    « Horses & Ducks »

Beautiful location in a country setting of Lexington, VA with rolling mountains all around. Lovely facility and not crowded during the week. The town of Lexington has a lot of history, Universities and a small town feel. Near the Virginia Horse Center. We will stay there again when we are in the area. Come learn about the ducks!

    5
    « Pleasant stay »

Needed a place convenient to VMI in Lexington the night before a meeting. I've stayed at this BW before. Stay was again efficient and pleasant. Room was either recently renovated, or so clean that it might have been. Comfortable. Good Internet. Breakfast was more than adequate for me.

    3
« First and probably last time I will stay »

A painfully slow check in at 4 pm started things off badly, we were behind just one other party but we stood at the front desk for 20 minutes with the automatic door opening and closing every other time we moved. Next issue was that one of our rooms had the door propped open so any random person could have been lurking inside. The windows look like they might open but no they have been screwed shut so no fresh air and hopefully no need for fire egress. On the upside the wifi was strong and fast and the room was clean and we got a couple extra rubber ducks. The bottom line is that the nearby quality inn I have stayed at a few times is far superior to this place at a lower cost so unless there is nothing else available in Lexington I will not stay here again.

    4
    « great potential »

views out of the back rooms were of a parking lot for apartments. You can see mountains in the distance from front rooms. staff were friendly, rubber duckies in the bath were cute, and free if you ask. Refrigerator in room froze things not in the freezer. Good room, okay shower, but the breakfast was a disappointment. Decent value.

« Ok But Would Not Return »

My husband and I stayed at this hotel on our way home from Florida. The hotel is currently being renovated and work being done on our floor was not too bothersome. The hotel is very nice and check in was efficient. The beds were comfortable, however, the bathroom could have been cleaner. Our breakfast experience could also have been better. The breakfast lounge was not very close to the main lobby, the hot breakfast included paper thin bacon and no sausage, the lemon poppy seed muffins were stale. On check-in my husband was looking for a quick snack and found out from the desk clerk that there was only one vending machine on the main floor, which was just about empty, which required a quick trip into town. Perhaps these issues will be resolved with the completion of renovations, but based on our first impression, we would not return.

  • 5
    « What a gem! »

I was so happy to find this place after a long day of driving and it actually had a room large enough to fit all six of us! The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast great and a very charming place! I enjoyed this hotel so much I just might schedule a weekend at Lexington around this hotel!

    3
    « Just a stopover. »

Booked this online after reading reviews on trip advisor. Staff was friendly and helpful but rooms need a bit of renovation. I did read that they were under renovation but apparently that's not the side we stayed in. Rooms were clean for the most part but walls are paper thin. You could hear people in the hallway and you could hear the conversation in the rooms next door. Bathroom was clean and beds are adequate but not as comfy. It was good for the night and they are making improvements. Worth a second look if we come back this way again.

    5
    « Best Best Western »

Very nice stay here. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely use this hotel again. (Bring back the bar!). I was here with my extended family and all of them enjoyed the stay as well.

    « Hunt Ridge »

Property has been going through renovations past years or so its been long awaited to see the new look . Everything has come together well looks great and new . I like to stay there freindly staff and quiet location.

    5
    « Beautiful Renovations »

Bit surprised by last post. I ate breakfast there on Friday and Saturday mornings as we were in town for the VMI open house. We had fresh grapefruit, blueberries, and bananas. My son made his own waffles from batter...they don't come fresher. Also, my entire room was renovated with brand new carpet, tile, and furniture. The halls were new carpet and tile. My bed was so comfortable, I slept throughout the pm. Oh...the staff were polite and professional too, especially the woman in charge of breakfast.

    4
« Close to the Virginia Horse Center »

Clean and bright hotel. Offers a nice Virginia Horse Center discount and is very convenient to the show grounds! Also dog friendly! However, I was a little surprised by the dated decor and lack of fresh foods at the breakfast they offered.

    5
    « Southern Hospitality »

Every time we go to Washington & Lee University to compete in wrestling I take my team to this wonderful hotel. It's PERFECT in so many ways but the people make it what it is. Free breakfast made by the sweetest ladies & the coffee is awesome.

« Gem for the weary traveler. »

First rate experience from arrival to departure. Check in receptionist was friendly, helpful, positive, and fixed me up in short order. The room was comfortable, quiet, clean, and convenient. The hotel looks like it's brand new but it's because it's so well maintained. Parking was easy, restaurants were close by, and the interstate was nearby without being in the bedroom. Breakfast was in a conference area and well outfitted with both hot staples like omelets, sausage, and bacon, along with all the continental offerings. Everyone on the staff was positive and upbeat and seemed proud of their hotel. It was a nice home away from home that will always be my stop between KY and DC.

    4
« Close to Virginia Military Institute (VMI) »

The location was perfect for my visit to VMI, where my second son is a cadet, and my third son plans to attend. The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was substantial, good, and varied.

    4
    « Don't stay to watch television...otherwise OK. »

Friendly service; quite room on second floor even though next to mezzanine; quiet window unit, very nice bathroom and very comfortable beds. We were told second floor was recently renovated and it showed. Don't waste your time on the "instant" breakfast; much better at the nearby Waffle House or at Niko's downtown. It was a shame that the good aspects of the hotel were marred by the horrible television service - the puny TV set and the cable service - terrible reception, especially for the lower channels and confusing to find a channel at that. Had to ask for a printed TV guide from the front desk.

« Best Western Hunt Ridge »

Spent another weekend at the Lexington Best Western at Hunt Ridge. Highly recommend it as a stop over. Staff is very helpful, rooms great and grounds to walk. A great stay, and a place I will again stay.

    5
    « Great for Less »

Comparable to higher priced hotels. This hotel is on par with many of the more higher priced and marketed hotels that are advertised all over the Internet. The bed was one of the most comfortable that I've slept in quite a while. The heating system worked efficiently and the shower was right on. Quite a pleasant stay.

    5
« Very quiet, clean hotel »

The staff here were very friendly, My room was large, clean and inviting. It is very, very quiet here - so relaxing! The bed was comfortable - the shower hot and powerful. Internet was strong. The breakfast was very good - not a huge selection but what was there was great! I parked a big rig here a few times but it can be tight if there are a lot of guests. I've stayed here often and will again!!

    5
    « A+ »

Clean, comfortable and friendly. Just an all around nice place to stay. Beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and it looked like maintenance was being done but you had to look close to see that since there was no mess.

    4
    « Very good hotel »

Everything was clean and the room was spacious and clean and the price was reasonable. The staff were helpful, but with a reluctant face. The included breakfast was good enough to start the day. It included scrambled eggs, waffles, few fresh fruits.

    4
    « Nice Quiet Hotel »

The hotel is on a hill above Lexington and rte 11. The room was well equipped with a below window AC that controlled temperature well and was quiet. The room had a fridge. There was wifi and a business unit. An indoor pool seemed well used (I did nit use it) and breakfast was above average. One note of caution is that if you go into Lexington for dinner and RTE 11 watch out for the VMI cadets - they are hard to see and you go through campus.

« Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge »

Spent 2 nights recently, and going back again. Staff was helpful, grounds and room very nice. Would recommend and certainly will stay here in the future when in Lexington. I traveled with my dogs and was welcomed by the staff! Great place.

    « A good nights stay! »

That's exactly what I received at a time I needed it most. I recently attended a funeral of a well loved family member in North Carolina, and as fate would have it, by the time we said our goodbyes it was early afternoon by the time we left for Wisconsin. Stressed about the situation, and now the added stress of a late start, I was upset because I would not be able to get as far as I needed to make it home the next day. We called from the road and as I pulled into the parking lot I was immediately impressed! The Inn at Hunt Ridge was gorgeous, it good easily be a destination hotel. The staff was very friendly and the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I had a very the best night sleep I had had in days. The room and beds were so comfortable, and the staff so curtious not to mention the very good breakfast the next morning. I felt so good and relaxed I was able to drive the 12 hours that day, and made it home. I guess you know by now that I am a fan of the Inn at Hunt Ridge, and Best Western in general, and highly recommend a stay. You love it as much as I do!.

    « Nice room! »

Overall this hotel has a very nice look. When I first booked I had every intention on being dissapointed. Too my suprise the entry was was very nice with nice greetings from the front desk clerks being accommodating to our late arrival. The rooms are very nice as well. Seems newly renovated. The beds are super comfy. And the showers are really nice!

« Welcome find in Lexington with nice breakfast extras »

We read the reviews for this hotel and thought it seemed like a good choice. We noted that the hotel allowed dogs - in fact there was a show in town and there were many dogs staying at the same time. The hotel has recently been renovated and the rooms are clean, comfortable, updated, and have nice views of the mountains. The breakfast buffet had many of the usual items (waffles, pastries, cereal, and yogurt). I think there were also eggs. The big difference was that there were fresh blueberries, fresh blackberries, and grapefruit halves. We have never run into these very welcome breakfast additions in another motel anywhere. We will definitely return if we are in the area. Liked the rubber duckies for the guest's use.

« This hotel is superb! »

I was on my way to Philly from Nashville and needed to stop at a dog friendly hotel. I had spent the weekend at a hotel that while nice, wasn't as quiet as I had hoped. This hotel, was well appointed and updated, had beautiful grounds and was very clean and quiet. I would definitely recommend to anyone who has pets but also those who don't have pets as a great place to stay.

    5
    « Beautiful hotel »

This hotel was clean , quiet and beautifully appointed. I was able to bring my two dogs and the rooms were perfected clean , modern and very very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

« The overnight stay was a very comfortable and relaxing interlude on our way to Texas »

The motel was easy to find off Rt 81 and Rt 64. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and neat and the breakfast set up was a great way to start off another day of traveling. We have stayed at other motels in Lexington and on our next trip through this area we will definitely stay at this Best Western.

« Gem in the Mountains »

This was a very pleasant surprise near the end of a long journey. As Lexington, VA is a college town- the end of December meant the town and area was very quiet. The hotel was in excellent shape. The were doing some renovation work on the second floor. We had a room on the first floor that was an excellent value for the money. This was a place that was very dog friendly. At this time of the year there was no on-site restaurant- yet several choice were very nearby. The town center was less than 10 minute drive from the hotel, which was conveniently located near I-64. It was the best value for the price on our entire holiday trip. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I had never been to Lexington VA before- I am definitely thinking about going back to spend more time in the future, now that I know of a wonderful place to stay with my dogs. I am sure in the Fall the hotel and town are much, much busier.

    « Thanks GPS »

I had programed my GPS to take me to the BW Lexington Inn but somehow it had me make a U-turn before I got to the hotel. I saw a Best Western sign in the distance and arrived at BW Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge. What a pleasant surprise. The rate was only $3.00 more and the place was exceptional. Great service, great room, great breakfast. What more could a traveller ask for?

    « Great Breakfast »

We were on our way to North Carolina to meet the family for Christmas and made a reservation last minute. We are glad we chose this hotel. We made use of the pool and loved the breakfast. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

    « Don't Pass On This Place! »

On a 15+ hour drive to, unfortunately, New Jersey, from Alabama with our little puppy dog, we stopped over here for the night since they are very dog friendly. I must say, I was highly impressed. This is a big hotel! Lots of room and meeting space, with a good sized restaurant. It was a very quiet stay, week away from I-81 and very comfortable for my wife and I and my little 12 lb Havanese. Several restaurants are easily accessible nearby. I will absolutely stay here again should the need arise!

« Maybe other rooms were better... »

All the reviews were pretty good here, so we pulled the trigger. The man at the check-in desk was very nice and the lobby was very welcoming; all decorated for the holidays with a pretty fireplace. They also provided free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate any time in the lobby. The workout room was nice; had a treadmill, elliptical, weights and a few weight machines. I couldn't find the remote to the TV though. Our room wasn't as nice as the pictures so maybe we got a less than average room. The only mirrors were in the bathroom, so that posed a problem in the morning. The coffee pot and sink were also in the same room as the toilet which isn't always convenient. The part I least appreciated was the shower...the shower head was one of those used in motor homes...you know where you can take it on and off. They did have a hook for it but it wasn't positioned well at all. We had to stand right up against the shower wall. Other than that, everything was fine. They had outlets in the lamps next to the bed, which I always appreciate. The breakfast was good; eggs, waffle maker, cereal, yummy oatmeal bar and plenty of beverage choices. We had room 134, which was a handicap room, so I"m not sure why we were put in there. So if you get that room, ask for another, it might be more comfortable. There is a Waffle House within walking distance. Also, Stonewall Jackson's House and grave are about a mile away from the hotel. Good places to visit!

    « The duck hotel! »

Excellent value! This was our second stay here in a couple of years. Both have been very pleasant. We had a recently renovated room with comfortable beds. The staff is very friendly and the rubber ducks are a great calling card. Great price for such a nice place. Will be back.

    « Quiet and comfortable »

Stayed here 1 night and overall everything was excellent although parts looked slightly dated. The ceiling in our bathroom could have used some TLC and the bathroom could benefit from a fan to get steam out. The staff was friendly and the breakfast had good fresh fruit, sausage, and Greek yogurt in addition to the normal hotel carbs.

« Great Place to Stay »

I was traveling on business and it had been a long day. Looked for a reasonably priced hotel with good reviews. Found the Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge. They exceeded my expectations in every way. Front count staff greeted me when I walked in the lobby. They had my reservation already pulled up and check-in took less than five minutes. My room was very clean and smelled fresh. Very comfortable bed with great pillows (very important to me). Breakfast the next morning was the best I have had on my travels. Truly fresh fruit including berries. The attendant working the breakfast room checked on everyone and kept the food stocked. The grounds were very clean. The hotel is located close to freeways but without the freeway noise. Also, gas stations are close by to fill up prior to heading out. I will stay here again and I highly recommend the Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge.

« The Only Hotel To Provide A Yellow Duckie To Adopt »

The hotel was obviously fancier than your typical Best Western. I suppose that was why it was a Best Western "Plus", though I've stayed at other "plus" hotels that didn't deserve the title. They thought of every little detail including a fancy breakfast buffet in the morning with plenty of seating and your very own little yellow rubber duckie to float in the tub or the sink. Our six inch bears loved it and have adopted it. Right now it sits in my kitchen in a cabinet with glass doors. As I write I'm looking right at it. P.S. As you can imagine, the hotel was pet friendly. We brought both a dog and a cat.

    « Great Experience »

Highly recommend this Best Western. Great staff. Very clean facility. Breakfast very well done with lots of choices and lots of fresh fruit. Room was very clean and smelled fresh. Grounds are well maintained and no trash or debris was visible. Will be staying here again and again.

« Nice place, extra friendly, helpful. They saved my leather jacket! »

This Best Western was easy to access off I-81, gave us and our puppy a friendly welcome. Pet fee was only $20. And, best of all, they wrapped up the pet bed and leather jacket we left behind to protect them. They wouldn't even accept a gratuity for the extra trouble we caused. Stay with them!

    « Finally a very nice place »

Second last stay on our way home. The hotel is in a nice location and very clean and quiet. Our room was very comfy and everything was clean. Breakfast was very good. They even had a large bowl of fresh blueberries and another bowl of fresh fruit salad. Every thing was replenished promptly by Patty the best breakfast gal ever! A very pleasant stay we would definitely return.

    5
« great rate, great service »

Adjoining rooms are available. Location is convenient to the highway and several restaurants. Very quick trip to downtown, maybe 5 minutes. Save some money by staying out of town and drive downtown to eat. Leave the fan on manual so it never stops running. The white noise helps us sleep.

« Gorgeous, Luxurious, Lovely Hotel with Great Staff »

We were on a 3,000 mile trip from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to Santa Fe, New Mexico with 2 small dogs, and happy to find clean and comfortable dog-friendly hotels. But we were honestly blown away by the loveliness and luxury of this one--the most upscale Best Western we'd ever been in, by a mile. Warm welcome from Josh at the front desk on a dark and rainy night, and friendly farewell from Zeanette in the morning, with helpful tips on taking a quick tour of Lexington. Room was spacious and plushly comfortable. The entire hotel has a gleaming, county home quality. The grounds were very pretty, and made dog-walking a pleasure. The breakfast was fabulous, with many healthy options, including fresh blueberries, fresh blackberries, and Greek yogurt. Good coffee. Bacon and eggs. A friendly, meticulous attendant presided over all. There were lots of nice little extras including chilled bottled water, oranges, and apples in the reception area. We were truly sorry that this was just an overnight stop on a long road trip--we would have loved to linger here and would recommend to anyone planning a longer visit to Lexington. Easy access to both I-81 and the historic downtown.

    « Excellent Accomodations »

Above average cleanliness of hotel and room. Quiet and restful atmosphere. Decor of room updated. Carpet appeared new and was very clean. Heating and A/C unit quiet and functioned well. Staff very welcoming, helpful and very pleasant. Will definitely stay here again.

« Meticulous room, warm staff, beautiful views. »

Stayed one night to break up a drive from Albany NY to Atlanta (Thanksgiving weekend). Josh at the front desk was welcoming and knowledgeable about the Lexington area. The room had a very clean feel, with a tile bathroom floor that looked like wood. The king sized bed was very comfortable, and the heat was easy to regulate. The breakfast buffet had some extra special items (for a reasonably priced hotel): Canadian bacon, fresh grapefruit halves, and fresh blackberries. The feel of the place was warm and welcoming in every sense, more like a bed and breakfast than a chain hotel. Recommend highly!

« Clean & Nicely decorated with granite accents. Nice size room with two queens and a pull out couch. »

Very nice front desk personnel, breakfast was simple, but good?Coffee was not watered down, which made me happy. Love the lil ducks in various costumes. Nice indoor pool. Close to restaurants, Walmart and various stores. VMI and W&L are only a few minutes away. Will try to stay there again? They are still remodeling some parts of hotel.

    « Enjoyed our stay »

Best Western Plus is our go to hotel for staying in Lexington, Virginia. It's a great location set back next to the Walmart. It's right off the main road. The breakfast is excellent. I noticed a wide array of breakfast items including, hot food, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and nuts and grains for the nutritious oriented folks.

We loved this hotel! Would stay there again in a heartbeat. The lobby was inviting, the room was clean, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was delicious! We found it on-line on our way from SC to NY and feel so lucky that we ended up staying there.

    « Excellent »

I was very pleased with the hotel. The lobby was pretty. The staff was friendly,Josh was very helpful. The room was clean and we felt very safe. The breakfast was excellent. I liked the separate area for drinks in the lobby in the morning. I highly recommend the hotel. Easy access to 81.

« Great Breakfast, lovely pool, comfy beds, great service. »

The same young man checked me in the night before although the reservation i thought I had did not appear in his records. So he called the other Best Western in the area to confirm that I didn't have a reservation elsewhere. He didn't want me to be charged twice. Very thoughtful and helpful. PS. The little ducklings are darling. PPS. The breakfast was outstanding with fresh grapefruit and berries, waffles and cheese omlets! Great!

« Comfortable stay in the Shenandoah area »

We started staying at this hotel when we traveled on college trips for our daughters. We continue to stay at it as we visit friends and family in the South. This is a comfortable, friendly hotel with an excellent breakfast. We highly recommend it if you are in the area.

« Not like all the others »

A beautiful facade to the building. Very friendly staff. And a beautiful little touch... little ducks that we could take with us. In this case for my grandchildren. The breakfast food court was a little out of the way, but a nice little walk and worth it. All in all, a beautiful hotel within a colonial setting.

« GREAT place to stay! »

I can't say enough good things about this property. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even calling to another hotel I'd recently stayed at to see if I'd left a phone charger there. The room was very clean and nicely appointed, quiet and comfortable. I slept for 11 hours straight! Breakfast was tasty and there was a lot to choose from. The price I paid was exceptionally reasonable for such a nice stay! I will not hestitate to stay here again any time I will be traveling through Lexington -- in fact, I'd drive an extra hour or two just to do so.

« Comfortable, clean, convenient and friendly place to stay »

This hotel is exceptionally convenient to the Lexington Horse Center. Since I had no prior experience with the "plus" brand, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's charm and cleanliness. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay at this hotel again on my next trip to the area.

    « Relaxing In Lexington »

In town for a friend's wedding. The Best Western Hunt Ridge was used as base hotel for many guests. All of the hotel employees were friendly and helpful. The location is ideal, and I was most impressed with how quiet the hotel stayed, even while hosting an out-of-town football team.

« nice hotel but food safety concern »

breakfast lady refills food without wearing gloves. Have stayed here in the past and was mentioned but has not changed. She stays busy but ignores food safety concerns. She even refilled the mini omelettes without gloves touching each one while organizing and rotating them

    « Nice Hotel »

Hotel overall was vey nice, clean, and at a very reasonable price. We had stayed here two years ago, and the rooms have all been redone since then. Only complaint is that the included breakfast was only so-so. Not sure if restaurant being closed had anything to do with that.

    5
    « Wonderful stopover »

The room was furnished well and everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good as well. We were traveling further south and needed a place for one night and this was perfect. The place liiked new.

    « BWThe Lexington VA »

This is a clean, comfortable BW property, among the better BW hotels I have stayed in. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and they offer a conference center as well. The breakfast room is similar to most at BW hotels - decent food and a bit noisy. They are located just off I64 with a 2-3 mile ride to downtown stores and colleges.

« Very Good Hotel for Lexington, VA »

The Best Western Inn at Hunt Ridge is one of Lexington's best chain hotels. Rooms have been clean during my several stays over the past decade or so. I have never experienced any problems. Breakfast is similar to most mid-range free hotel breakfasts - that is, very average, but enough to get you going in the morning without making another stop or paying. The location is very close to downtown Lexington - under 5 minutes driving. Note that you cannot really walk to downtown from this hotel, at least not safely or easily. We did have to ask 3 times for a roll-away bed, despite calling an hour before our midnight arrival. Even after calling ahead of time, a roll-away was still not in the room for our late arrival. And, after asking at the front desk at midnight, it still didn't arrive until another phone call downstairs was made. The location is nice, though, and I recommend this hotel overall. You may have to press them for extra service, but it will eventually work out.

We stayed one night on our drive to Atlanta. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, especially the young man at the front desk. The beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was certainly good for a variety of appetites and plenty of fruit, eggs, sausage, coffee, yogurt, granola, craisins and more. Would highly recommend this Best western plus at hunt ridge. The horse center of Virginia is close by as well as VMI and Washington and Lee university

    « Thoroughly satisfied »

We were near the end of a road trip and appreciated having a reasonably priced no-hassles place to stay for a night. This Best Western is attractive, clean, and new-looking; our room was spotless and very spacious; the hotel was very quiet even though there were quite a few guests. The breakfast was entirely satisfactory.

« very nice, highly recommend. »

Stayed here one night . Very nice hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I was traveling with my dog and chose this hotel because it is pet friendly. They charge a $20 pet fee but that is for your entire stay not nightly. Andrew, at the front desk was very helpful and told me to get a coupon book from the several locations he described to me before I checked in to get a good rate. I really appreciated his helpful advice to help me save some on the room rate. He was there when I checked in and he was also professional , polite and did a good job. I wish all front desk personnel were as good at their job as Andrew is. The room was clean, well appointed and very comfortable and quiet. Perfect. Breakfast was more than adequate. Don't hesitate to stay at this hotel especially if you have a pet.

« A Superb Inn With An Awesome Staff »

Don't hesitate to book this inn! Rooms are well decorated, clean, and meticulously maintained. Breakfast is first rate and the breakfast area is large and appealing. No trouble finding seating and no lines at the food service counter. We left a bag behind and the staff found it, secured it without opening it, and assisted in having it shipped to us at our home. BRAVO!!

    « Wonderful accommodations »

From the minute we made our reservation this was a pleasant experience. We had to modify the reservation and staff was very helpful in doing so. Stayed in one of their newly renovated rooms - beautiful decor, clean, great shower/water pressure and had free wifi. Breakfast was served in a clean and open dining area; food was wonderful and the service too notch. Only minor issue was all pillows were big; we sleep on flatter pillows; would have been nice to have an assortment of pillows. Will definitely stay here again at our next horse show at the nearby (1/2 mi down the road) Virginia Horse Center.

« Pet Friendly and Quiet »

We've stayed here twice, and will make it a point to stay here on future trips. Off the highway, but not out of reach, is still close to shopping and restaurants. This is a pet-friendly, quiet hotel with great staff! The breakfast has a decent selection, and there is coffee and tea available around the clock just off the lobby.

Attractive hotel. Nice room with microwave and refrigerator. Hot breakfast with many choices. Closest hotel to the horse center. Hot beverages available in the lobby. Will certainly stay here again. Love the little rubber duckies.

    « quiet stay »

After a long road trip we pulled in to the hotel after 10 pm, needing a good nights rest, this hotel was exactly what we needed. Check in was a breeze and we were in our room in no time. The room was very nice and clean and we fell into bed right away. The hotel was very quiet and we slept like babies. In the morning a breakfast buffet was included with choices ranging from sausage and eggs, fresh made waffles to cereals and breads. When it came to check out everything was quick and easy. The person at the desk even offered bottles of cold water for our trip, just another extra touch we were not expecting. We would definitely stay here again.

« Great Place to Stay »

We found this hotel to be a great value with excellent service. When we checked into our room we found a cute rubber duckie on the side of the tub to take with us on our further travels. Such a neat, clever idea! We are enjoying our duck and took several pics with him while in Lexington. The property is very clean and well maintained. Every time we left our room someone on staff was cleaning something. We were pleased to meet one of the cleaning staff who is handicapped. This young man is nonverbal but works diligently at his assigned tasks and we were told he has been employed here for a number of years. Kudos to this establishment for giving this young man an opportunity to earn his living! If we are ever in this area again, this is our choice of a hotel!

« Happy with my stay. »

Stayed here for a night on business in order to attend the STEM conference at VMI. The hotel was close to downtown and a few restaurants. Was traveling during a hurricane and got diverted off our travel path. Found this Best Western. It was stunningly beautiful inside and we were upgraded to a suite. « Spot on for the price, quality and location. »

Good price, great location, clean, comfortable and quiet. Aren't those the essential qualities in a hotel? On this business trip stay, I had to leave before the breakfast was served each morning, so I can't review that part.

We were running very late and called ahead to see if that would be a problem as it is with some hotels. If wasn't a problem here. We checked in after midnight and were greeted with a smile. « Hunt Ridge getting better! »

I am pleased to see that some of the rooms have been updated since our last stay- glad we gave this another chance. We like to stay here when we attend Horse Shows at the Equine Center- very convenient. We also like the breakfast that is included with the stay. The apples in the lobby were a treat for us and we took one for our horse. We also love the fact that this hotel is pet friendly but is very clean and quiet. Staff is always very friendly and accommodating.
