Best Western Hotel Mariacki

Our trip was for my sons 16th birthday, we chose Poland as he's doing GCSE history and we wanted to experience the Auschwitz trip, (which didn't disappoint such a a indescribable/harrowing trip) Location of hotel was perfect. Reception staff really friendly and helpful, Viktor especially went above and beyond. Monica from the hospitality team, Was Amazing and helped in every aspect of our trip. Would highly recommend and return. Would highly recommend.

Beds were excellent slept really well, rooms were always kept clean. Receptionists were lovely however we came across a few rude waiters. There was a lovely waitress called Monika - so welcoming and joyful. We had a nice meal on our last day in the restaurant - fantastic !

This hotel refused to make accommodations when I fell ill and insisted on getting paid in full for the entire stay rather than charging a cancellation fee. I understand that cancellations are annoying and would have understood a cancellation fee but charging multiple nights when somebody is not travelling because they' have a transmittable illness is ridiculous.

Great location, fantastic personel, yummy food. Highly recommend. Urszula from reception is a star. I can't say anything negative about that hotel. Food at restaurant very good and if you never eat slaska rolada you must try it. Breakfast simply fabulous everything fresh and tasty.

We always stay in best westerns when we can as you know exactly what to expect, and this hotel didn't disappoint. Wonderful clean rooms, comfty bed and good showers. The staff are fantastic and so friendly and helpful! Make sure you try one of their special brew beers, we tried one with pineapple in and this was such a treat! Really yummy. We'll definitely stay here again when we're next in the area, thank you for such a great stay!

Phenomenal service is a central hotel. The hotel was located on a main strip of bars, couldn't have been in a better position. We arrived during a snow storm, the hotel had Xmas songs playing with a blow up snowman outside, it really set the mood for Christmas! The receptionist was very polite and offered great information of the area and local food to etc. The bedroom was very clean and offered everything we needed. With being on a main strip of bars, I was worried about noice as I'm a light sleeper, except my friends snoring.. the hotel offered great sound proofing and this was never an issue. If I visit Katowice again, I will for sure be using this hotel. Thank you to all the staff!

Sleeping was not possible because of loud music from Mariacka Street. Apparently not resolving problem. So the hotel does not fulfill its basic function of providing a quiet place to sleep. Loud music Fridays, Saturdays till 4 in the night.

The best hotel, even not from Western hotels))) Fast, tasty, friendly,clean and beautiful! ❤️ All staff is great and careful, very comfortable place near train station and much historical buildings, museums. It was like in paradise! I'll be back!

This is a good hotel it's a few mins walk to the central train station , Rynek square and the Galleria shopping centre . There is also an attached restaurant and micro brewery serving great food the throngs of people turning up and some being turned away is proof of this . Thanks to Mihai at reception for a very warm welcome and farewell a good ambassador for the hotel . Although we didn't use them we received tickets for a 5 beer taster tray nice touch .

Very nice hotel directly in the city. Parking could be a problem - at that time it was free because it was new. Hotel and rooms are very nice and new. I will come back again if neccesary. thanks for staying at your hotel

Staff was amazing, rooms perfect and the atmosphere perfect. Rooms spacious and the toiletries advanced. Could go on and on about how perfect this was. Breakfast service next level and I will only stay here next time.

A great hotel, highly recommend for your stay in Katowice. In advance, I contacted the hotel with a request of a room on the upper floor and I got a luxurious room on the top floor. Everything worked very well, the wifi, air conditioning, the cleaning service. Great plus - mineral water, fizzy drink for free. There was a coffee machine available in the room. Even though the hotel is situated on a busy street, the soundproof was great and it was nice and quiet in the room. Great breakfast, a large variety to choose from, I appreciate delicious homemade bread. I will certainly use the hotel next year when travelling on holoday from Katowice Airport.

Very clean and comfortable hotel along the famous walking street Mariacka in Katowice, Poland. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and bars and walking distance to most attractions in Katowice. The hotel is very safe and with own restaurant serving good breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Best to avoid. Dance club kept me up till 3am despite the ear plugs they provide. Booked two nights but left after one, they offered no refund. Said it was my fault for booking using an agency (expedia). And further implied it was my fault for not knowing municipal codes which allowed for loud music till 4am. Silly me. The view was pathetic, mainly looking onto a wall and another room. The bathroom was very odd, more IBIS budget than BW. A half-toilet, very odd.

Immediately on arriving at hotel told we could check in early by reception, room was small but beautifully furnished. Bathroom again was fantastic. Breakfast, can honestly say had the best choice I had ever come across in many years. The staff were constantly re-filling everything, Hot and cold buffet breakfast with so many healthy options as well, had to try everything ☺️. The breakfast room was amazing. The staff couldn't do enough, very hard working and friendly.

Great place to stay, whether you are travelling solo or as a group. They have very friendly and accommodating staff, breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant offers top class food. Also, perfect location.

Modern and very clean hotel in the middle of a bar street, which can be a small disadvantage. ( earplugs are provided). Beds are very good if you don't like a very soft bed. All accessories are provided ( toothbrush, rituals soap, shaving set etc). Also the restaurant is very good for dinner and also for breakfast

This hotel is right in the heart of Katowice. A bit hard to reach as it is a pedestrian area, but only 100 meter walk, taxi can get in front. Small reception, small rooms, especially bathroom. Top floor has nice views. Average breakfast. Nice staff, and a good restaurant with excellent beers, as it is a brewery, on site. Lots of other bars and restaurant in the same area.

Good location with poor service. Stuff is extraordinary helpful. Other than this, nothing's remarkable. Limited space in bathroom. No slippery, no conditioner, poor cleaning conditions, an undetermined smell in room.

Here is always nice stay , the big family traveling together, we had rooms on 7th and third floor, very nice and comfy good beds and pillows. The hotel is Just minutes away from city center, fab location , the hotel restaurant is very nice and the serve tveir own beer. Staff is very lovely and service minded. Thanks for your hospitality.

This hotel has so many positives ! Firstly great location its easy to find from the train station and has plenty of restaurants close by . Walking distance to most attractions. The staff were very friendly and check in was quick and easy ! Room was really nice and good amenities however the bed was rock hard and we both woke up with sore backs . The negative of this hotel being the noise at night time the hotel did leave ear plugs out beside the bed which was a nice touch . The noise went onto 4am so I would avoid the hotel if you are a light sleeper or ask for a room at the back of the property .

Small hotel with a superb restaurant central in Katowice. Very friendly and service minded staff. Nice , well cleaned, rooms with good wifi. Excellent breakfast and a very good restaurant for dining. Recommend to taste the restaurant's own beer. My first choice in Katowice

Very sentral hotel in the heart of Katowice. Many resturants and bars near by the hotel. We really enjoyed our rooms. Good beds and you got almost everthing you need in the rooms (thoothbrush, thoothpaste etc) which was a really nice suprise. The breakfirst was good, and the staff was really welcoming and helpful with what we needed.

Our stay for 4 nights would have been perfect if not for our last night. Our first 3 nights were quiet and we slept well. But on Friday evening there was a constant and loud music from the nightclub next door. And it lasted until 3 o'clock in the night. And even though our room was on the fourth floor and facing the back street we were not able to sleep. This hotel is centrally located and you have lot of restaurants to choose from. We did not try breakfast so I cant comment on that. Rooms are rather small but that did not bother us. They were cleen and serviced when you asked for it (Covid rules to limit contact) We had beer tasting in the restaurant and I would recoomend that you try that. Over all experience good but if I am back in Katowice on a weekend I will not stay here again because I am sure that during summer time or post Covid there are more clubs open in this street and thats to much noice for my liking.

I have stayed here twice now and what I really love is that both times the staff not only asked if I enjoyed my stay, but also if I had any suggestions for improvement. Everyone is very friendly and the staff speak excellent English. The breakfast is great, and the microbrewery restaurant has very good beer and food.

Nobody wear Covid masks. Complete neglect on the part of customers and staff Every moment outside the room, I just made sure not to get infected by the customers, waiters and staff. (and I'm not paranoid, just expecting a reasonable upholding of the regulations)

this is a small hotel located on Mariacki road, a pedestrian road in Katowice, which means that driving to the hotel is not so easy. there is a parallel road behind the hotel, under construction, therefore some of the original parking space are occupied, you can load and off load your luggage, but difficult to find a parking lot. there is a hotel arranged parking somewhat 300~400 meters away from the hotel, which you need to ask the reception for access card to gain access to. hotel staff are amazing group of people, friendly, helpful and happy, they will give you all necessary help and recommendations around the town. it's a short walk from the hotel to Galeria Katowika, which is one of the largest shopping mall in Katowice, and also right next the main railway station. also to note that Mariacki road is a pedestrian road with bars and night clubs, consider Katowice a industrial city with lots of young people, during weekends, downstairs can be quite noisy and crowded.

Stayed here in July and again September checking in on Sunday 13.09. I needed to get out asap after check in as I had 2 football matches to attend and the guy on reception was wonderful as I arrived early and he found me a room. This type of effort makes such a difference to guests, what a Superstar he is! If you like nightlife its a brill location, if not get a quiet room on top floors where I couldnt hear anything although I enjoyed the nightlife so maybe thats why! My wife and I were staying in Katowice and wanted a hotel in the middle of the city rather than the outskirts. We booked this hotel at the last minute and were delighted with our choice. The location was perfect for us - on the street with the most bars and restaurants. The lady on reception was so professional and friendly. The room was of adequate size and very clean. On both nights, we ate at the brewery restaurant connected to the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel was better than the 5 star hotel we'd stayed at the previous week. Our room was overlooking the Main Street but well sound proofed. However, I would recommend having a room facing the other side though if you were staying with family. Very good value for money.

The room very small, bed only 90cm wide. Heavy noise of a club with techno music from 11pm until 4am every day, sleeping impossible. There was no room make up/ towel change, maybe cause the corona situation. Around the hotel many options for having a drink and the hotel has an own brewery.

I wonder if all of the reviewers have actually stayed in this hotel. There were so many problems during my short 2 night stay that I am more than just disappointed. First of all, the hotel decided to cancel my booking before my arrival because, as BW helpdesk claims, technical error of some sort didn't pass my full booking information to the hotel. However I feel the hotel should have contacted me and inquired if I am really coming - or just waited the next morning. What if the hotel had been fully booked and they had accepted somebody else to the room I had booked? Now it just took a lot of time to check in as they had to make the booking again, but it was still annoying. They should definitely review both their booking system and procedures if such problems arise. Hotel anyway had my full contact information and the booking, and preauthorisation of my payment card was made through BW's own web system. Bigger and more serious problems regarding the room itself. First of all, they gave me room next to the elevator. Every single time drunk customers (which they had a lot) came from elevator, or was waiting for it, a lot noise came in. You could hear their whining, every single word. A lot of noise came from the street, even the room was on 3rd floor. Hotels noise insulation was very bad. Further problems: the hotel room had tiniest toilet seat, shower cabin and bed I have ever seen in any hotel. Seriously, the room was made for children, not adults. Further annoyance came from noisy ventilation. I have been to many BW hotels in the world and in general, I stay a lot in hotels, closer to 100 nights per year, but this one was serious disappointment and not worth of BW brand which usually exceeds my expectations. Even for the affordable price, the stay was a sad experience.

This hotel is located in the city centre and despite it being on the busy high street it is quiet inside and allows for a good night sleep. The rooms have everything you need including iron and hairdryer. Beds are really comfortable and the restaurant downstairs serves decent breakfast. I would stay here again without hesitation.

You ca expect very polite and helpful Service; very good breakfast, fresh and great variety. 'The place is also perfect for Business Dinner - very good and innovative kitchen and own beer-brewery with a nice choice of own beers - cheers!

My review refers exclusively to the hotel restaurant service. I had dinner at the restaurant of the Hotel, I also ate well, if it weren't for the fact that when I asked the waiter to order another, I was told that the kitchen was closed and that this was not possible at 9.30pm . I think it is unacceptable that a structure that guarantees a catering service closes the kitchen when it still has open accounts and people still intent on eating and consuming food, also because this service certainly does not guarantee it for free. In addition, all this lack of flexibility with regard to the rights of customers and the working hours of the kitchen, are not repaid with a speedy service of the same, given that to have 2 meat dishes they took 40 min with the local vehicle empty. I think this place should think less about vacuous issues and focus more on making its customers feel good and satisfied. I suggest closing the restaurant business, if things do not change, as the real restaurant is not this, but it is only a pale imitation without a soul.

I have stayed at the Best Western Mariacki 3 times in the last couple of years and I just love this place! The on-site micro-brewery and first class on-sit restaurant provide are as good as anything in the area. The location in the central city is provides the perfect starting point to explore Katowice on foot. Plenty of great bars and restaurants right out the front door, close to everything. The rooms are very nice, the Wi-Fi worked great and the staff spoke great English, making it easy for me. I've recommended this Hotel to all of my colleagues, and it has become a favorite for many of us when we travel to Katowice.

Nice and cosy hotel on the main high street with 10 mins walk to Katowice Galeria shopping centre. Even though it's on the main high street with shops and bars everywhere, it's pretty quiet in the rooms at night. The breakfast was really fresh with plenty of options, room was spacious with good amenities. Overall very pleased.

Excellent place to stay, close to the main train station. Very nice customer service at the front desk and in the restaurant. Nice, modern and clean rooms. Delicious food, I had a great dinner and breakfast when I stayed there. I would highly recommend that place to stay.

Soundproofing in my room was excellent, despite overlooking the main street on one side and the railway on the other, there was no noise at all in my room. The restaurant area was very nice, probably refurbished recently or in any case well maintained.

The room was very small but comfortable. The AC worked well, the room was quiet, good shower and the staff was friendly. Ten miinute walk from the train station. Lots of restaurants nearby. If you need a reliable Wifi connection, find another place to stay. The Wifi connection is horrible. There is no way to stay connected. I had to re-connect over 100 times during a three night stay. I had to re-connect so many times that they had to give me another log-in code. I discussed it with a member of the BW team at the front desk and was told that the disconnections were for security purposes. I use a VPN and provide my own security. If BW wants to cater to all guests' needs, it is time to invest in a better Wifi system.

I took my girls to Best Western for my hen party. We stayed there a night as we were going to Pomarancza Night Club. Hotel is awesome. Stuff is extremely friendly. I have nothing bad to say about the stay. I loved the food that restaurant serves. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were clean and beautifully decorated.

Went there for two nights, awesome food, impeccable room and friendly staff, prices were not even remotely close to the UK, a very nice experience, location is perfect, right in city centre and close to train and bus station. Highly recommended

Terrific hotel right in the heart of Katowice town center. Modern ,clean and well appointed.Lovely restaurant which serves top quality food.Staff nice and friendly.My only negative was that the wi-fi wasn't working during my one day stay--but I'm told by the staff that this was unusual. We had a great stay all the staff were amazing, until it was time to be checked out. The young girl behind the desk didn't listen to me and ended up charging me twice and when I asked for my breakfast to be charged to my card as PLN she charged me in pounds. I really wish she'd have listened and then this wouldn't have happened. She just rushed! Other than her and being charged twice and over charged the experience was great!

Great place with stylish restaurant&brewery. Very reach breakfast and super friendly staff. Very convenient location in the very center with many attractions within the reach. Room is rather small but neat and cosy.

Just got back from a 3 night stay as part of a family break. There were 11 of us staying over 4 rooms, and we arrived at the hotel about 2am on the Monday morning after a late Sunday flight. When we arrived at our rooms unfortunately the two rooms that had kids staying in them had not got the sofa beds made up when we entered our rooms. We rang to reception who quickly sorted the problem and were very apologetic. The next day when we returned to our rooms after being out all day there was a letter of apology in our rooms from the management, a fresh plate of chopped fruit, and a voucher for the beer tasting in the hotel bar to use. This was a very nice touch and excellent customer service. The rooms are very modern, and very well equipped, and the location of the hotel is excellent on a pedestrian area. My only slight gripe with the hotel was the waiter service in the hotel restaurant, as we experienced a very rude waiter. On the Monday night we had walked round Katowice trying to find a restaurant that could accommodate all 11 of us in our party. After no success we headed back to the hotel to try the restaurant. Arriving at the hotel at 9.10pm and seeing the restaurant closed at 10pm we asked the waiter if we could still eat. At first he said no it was too late ( to which we would have been fine with) but then he came back and said yes we could if we ordered quickly. Thanking him we sat down at the table. He then give us a couple of minutes to look at the menu. When he came to take our order he asked my wife first what she would like. When she hesitated for a few seconds he snapped "look the kitchen closes soon, order now or you will not eat" It was very rude and was not how we expected to be spoken to, and we were close to walking out. In fairness I think he realised through the rest of the service that he was out of order and eventually was quite accommodating. There was really no need to be that rude. We would have accepted from the start if they had said we were too late to eat, but at the end of the day they told us we could. All in all we had a lovely time in Poland, it is an amazing country from what we saw of it, and the people are very friendly (one waiter being the exception) If I was in Katowice again I would definitely stay in this hotel.

We stayed as a large family group occupying 4 rooms. All rooms were comfortable, well appointed with everything you may need. In the room were tea and coffee making facilities, a modern tv, clock radio with phone charger attached and ironing facilities, there was also a safe. The bathroom was compact with a good range of complimentary toiletries and a powerful shower. The hotel is well located in Katowice in a busy pedestrian street with lots of bars, this means lots of noise well into the early hours. This was the only negative. The hotel bar is popular and busy. We ate in the restaurant one night and had a fantastic meal. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever encountered in any hotel.

First: the restaurant in the hotel is very popular at night - and for good reason! Great food but not the cheapest in town. The hotel itself was great - excellent location and wonderful service. Helpful staff and amazing breakfast. Very impressed.

We stayed in October 2018. This is an excellent hotel. Comfortable room with tea an coffee making facilities, friendly helpful staff. The breakfast is of very high standard, delicious and in a comfortable surrounding. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. Hotel location is good 7 mins walking to centre and rail station. Highly recommend this hotel.

Would most definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Katowice. The rooms were great, everything you need. Iron, hairdryer, tea, coffee, kettle, plus toiletries. Staff were very friendly and could speak English well. We had breakfast two mornings and also an evening meal once. The food is fantastic! Great location and close to all the bars, restaurants and transport.

We came here 30 persons and I love this hotel. Clean rooms, excellent service, good breakfast and wonderful staff. We recommend this hotel. The location is in the centre of the city, close to Spodek and the Silesian museum. The big street is relaxing with its chairs and river. Á lot of restaurants are in the area and best of all, prices are very fair.

Very nice stay. Staff really helpful. Good location (a little bit noisy on weekends). Lack of a mini fridge in a room. Very good buffet breakfast but it is basically only options. You can't order something lighter.

Room was clean and nice, hotel seemed to be newly renovated and still adding to its renovations. The room was smaller than I had expected but still very nice. Location is quite good, nice street with restaurants outside and church on the end. Shopping mall, train station in 5 minutes walking distance. Took about 30 minutes to drive to airport. Staff was really nice and helpful.

Great hotel with great VIP service. But be aware if you get a room in the frontside you will end up with nonstop music until early in the morning since the restaurants on the street have live music. Close to the bars and some restaurants.

We've been already few times in the hotels of Best Western chain and we were always satisfied. Hotel has a great location. Between friday and sunday there is a lot of people on the Mariacka street seating in the bars long nigth hours.However, I think that the windows in the rooms were soundproof enough and we could slept without any problems. Hotel is clean and comfortable, and has a parking space at the back of the building.Staff is kind and helpful.Wide choice on the breakfast. Definitely, we'll be back.

The toilet was dirty and there were some hairs in the bathroom. Apart from that the stay was pleasant and the hotel itself very pretty and modern. I love this area for food and shopping. Highly recommend.

From the time we walked in we were happy. The staff were helpful, nice and friendly, the rooms were clean and large with great ensuite. Everything was professional, clean and no complaints from my husband or I. Good restaurant and bar on premises. Would stay again and recommend to anyone.

Definitely a 5+ for this hotel. Friendly staff on reception with good spoken English. First class breakfast and friendly staff. Breakfast was the best of the 6 hotels we have stayed in on our trip round Poland. The bedrooms are modern and immaculate and refreshed every day. The restaurant is excellent for dinner. Convenient for visiting Katowice city centre. Pre-booking a parking space is a wise move.

Very friendly staff, nice rooms, good breakfast. Definitely nice place to stay. The only problem was to find way to the hotel due to one-way streets but the staff gave us hints via telephone. I will use this hotel in future.

This is a very good Hotel, very clean rooms and delicious food! You can notice the Hygiene is paramount importance in this hotel, also the rooms are very clean! They have a delicious extensive buffet/breakfast, the location is very good, right at cafes and within walking distance of various facilities. If we go back to Katowice we definitely book this hotel again.

What a surprise! My first impression was a bit of confusion. The GPS took us to a pedestrian zone and we took a 15 min. Detour around the city to get back. Check in was super simple and the rooms are your average European room.... only cleaner and more modern. We walked around town a bit and tried to find something that met our quirky family dietary needs (gluten free because of celiac, vegan by choice). We were pleasantly surprise how amazing the restaurant was. I would place it up there with a Michelin Star restaurant as far as presentation, freshness, and overall satisfaction. Service was above and beyond. If we were here longer I would eat here every day to try something new. This was an easy 5 stars. The beer was well crafted and tasty as well. I tried all 5 and they were all good.

Didn't stay at hotel, but ate in their restaurant 3 evenings out of 4. Very friendly staff, food was extremely good value and tasted great. Live saxophonist on Thursday eve, cool vibe restaurant was very busy which is always a good sign. Highly recommend.

Lovely setting in an old brewery just in the heart of Mariacka Street in Katowice... Renovated ex brewery and it's so lovely... Lots of crafted beers and also the renowed ones... Staff is lovely and helpful and you can see the kitchen in front of you. Menu is varied and food is excellent in both cooked and presentation... Price not to rock your pocket. Be back again some day ??

Very nice hotel, smart decor, very friendly helpful staff. Nicely located within walking distance of the railway station and main town square and shopping centres. Nice late check out of 12 noon, plus you can leave luggage in their luggage room to pick up later.

I tripped upon this wonderful hidden Gem of Hospitality in the Heart of Katowice. What a delightful experience staying at this Hotel/Restaurant . Very comfortable, pleasant stay. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Great convenient location, City Centrum. The connecting Restaurant had an amazing , delightful ,appealing food /entree/dinner breakfast / lunch /dinner menu. So well prepared with amazing delights , and tastes of different variety cuisine .And the most wonderful treat was their micro brewery , cold served micro brewery , amazing brewed selection ..The American Pale Ale ,AWESOME !!!!

Exactly what was missing on this street. Enjoy an evening out on the party street Mariacka and go a stone's throw away to your room. I stayed at a room on 4th floor facing the back and didn't hear anything from the street. Very new and modern, has everything you can expect from a best western. Their restaurant has own brewery with great quality beers. Would gladly stay there again.

Hotel very good for stay during business trip. Very close to train station. Hotel has its own brewery, so for beer lovers this is very attractive option. Rooms veryy clean. I stayed in room with view on railways, During summer time, it can be one inconvinience.
