We stayed for 3 nights over Veterans Day weekend to attend the Chiefs game. Two rooms. The hotel was ok- overall it felt dated, especially in the hotel restaurant. We stayed at this hotel because we had tickets to the game and it was our first time in area. We liked the idea of walking to the game- which was a plus. The nightly rate was extremely high but I think it was due to game + the Kansas /Iowa college football game. Next time, I would absolutely just get a parking pass and stay in another area of the city.
I have never before seen a hotel so desperate to give money back. I attended a convention here and from the word go it was a complete disaster from a hotel operations standpoint. the hotel blatantly broke contract with our group, scattering the attendees who were contracted to have their rooms all on the same floors to every floor in the hotel and placing non group guests amongst our contracted rooms. our hotel liaison from the convention worked for nearly 10 hours the day before the majority of our group arrived with the sales manager to try to correct the issue and get all of our rooms properly assigned, however none of the front desk staff bothered to read the pass on logs and began to randomly assign our rooms to every floor. the event space was three meeting rooms separated by airwalls, and one of the airwalls was not properly closed. every panel of the airwall was unlocked and left free-swinging, not only did this allow sound from one room to freely be heard in the other. a solid bump to any of the panels could have theoretically caused the airwall panel to come crashing down and land on someone. given the weight of one of these panels is several hundred pounds of metal and insulation. this could easily have caused serious injury or death to anyone who may have been underneath if it fell. these panels should be secured for safety purposes when they are closed. speaking of things being secured. it's time to talk about a flagrant and highly illegal fire safety hazard. the exit door next to the event space was chained and padlocked from the inside preventing the door from being used at all. as this was one of only two entrances and exits from the building on the main floor and there was one of the lit-up exit signs directing people to that exit, this hotel has illegally blocked a fire exit. the general manager of the property is the most unprofessional general manager of a hotel that i have ever had the displeasure of encountering. what started off as general apathy towards our group devolved into open hostility towards one of our convention staff members, resulting in his frequent and regular harassment of our Hotel Liaison to include yelling and threats directed towards him on multiple occasions. the GM also glowered angrily at members of our group when we walked through the lobby, and he happened to be at the front desk. as many of our group is part of the LGBTQ+ community, his open hostility towards us definitely came off as homophobic and transphobic in origin. the GM also took chairs from the event space mid-event and forbade the hotel staff from bringing them back which caused us to have insufficient seating for our event. as well, he also had the thermostat for the event space turned off completely causing the event space to go from uncomfortably warm to uncomfortably cold. the front entrance has a rather serious accessibility issue as well. the sloped edge of the front curb (where bell carts and wheelchairs might access the front door, is only approximately 30" wide and at a very narrow point in the sidewalk down the side of the front circle. for a property this large, it really should be the entire space in front of the main entrance doors to help the flow of guest traffic. my best advice: stay somewhere else until this GM has been removed and replaced.
Stayed at Best Western Hotels & Resorts in Kansas City, MO this past weekend. It was the hotel directly across from the stadiums at 4011 Blue Ridge Cut Off, Kansas City, MO 64133. This hotel was horrible. The GM was terrible and has no business running that hotel. I was there for an event happening in their ballrooms. The GM made decisions that went against the contract that the group throwing the event had in place. The GM voluntarily broke contract. On top of that, the GM cornered one of the people that was in charge of the event in front of other customers in the lobby area in an attempt to cause a fight so that the GM could throw this person out of the hotel. When this person walked away, the GM threatened to throw them out anyway. Again, this GM has NO business running this hotel. There were other issues that were found also. One of the entries to the hotel was chained closed. To my knowledge, this was one of two entries/exits to this hotel and was a serious fire hazard. The actual staff, or at least the ones that we had interaction with, were amazing. The person at the front desk who fixed our reservation was amazing. I feel for them having to deal with a GM that is that bad. 0/5 stars. Avoid this hotel at all costs until they get better management.
Hotel broke the contract for our convention with no notice. Everyone booked and paid for rooms in advance but we didn't get the promised whole floors. So called "Stadium View" windows (old single pane sliding doors locked shut) were covered in dirt and didn't block out the sound of truck idling in the parking lot over night
This isn't a bad hotel, however, the management leaves much to be desired. The rooms were decent, fairly clean, and other than minor things, in working order. Staff in general were friendly and efficient....Though, don't park in the rear lot, unless you're prepared to walk around the whole hotel to get in the front door, as it's the only exit that wasn't chained and padlocked shut! That said, don't book a convention there, and expect to get the room placement you contracted for, or for the event space to be attended to while you're there. Our convention contracted for a floor specifically for our use, so we could have smaller discussions and so our vendors could sell books and other things out of their rooms without needing to worry about security. The discussion groups brought traffic to the vendor rooms. All arranged and assigned ahead of time, with detailed notes on it. But, instead, we were assigned rooms all over the hotel, instead of keeping our group on the same floor as the contract stated, and in spite of our hotel liason making sure the arrangements were correct, the day before we began arriving.
I'm not a fancy guy and when traveling alone, I always look for a BW as I find them to be consistent and I love a good breakfast. This particular BW has two big things going for them... 1. This BW is located right across the street from Arrowhead Stadium. I walked from my hotel to the tailgate party. Super convenient. 2. This BW has one heck of a sports bar, something I've never seen in any of the BWs I've stayed in through the years. The two bartenders were fantastic, hustled all night, and even cobbled together several White Russians for us! If I could go back to the topic of breakfast, I would say that this BW has the biggest, nicest, dining room that I've seen as well. It is unique along those lines. Areas of improvement: It's probably time to invest in some new mattresses. The one-person check-in can get swamped at times. The EV charger was broken when I was there. I hope they get that repaired soon. Even with these things, I give this BW a 5-star rating because the good way outweighs the bad.
I was apprehensive about this property after reading the reviews. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. Parking was well lighted. Staff was exceptionally friendly, fun, and helpful. Great location. Room was clean. Breakfast was good and Loretta (I think) who worked in the bar was an absolute delight. Our remote didn't work and staff made sure we had a brand new one. Is this a luxury hotel, no. Is it a solid choice for travel, especially with dogs? Absolutely!!
We've stayed twice at this hotel. Last year, our experience was great. This year, not good. I hesitated to leave a review, but I do not want what happened to us to happen to anyone else. Room rate was extremely high (Chiefs game). Room was clean, but smelled like sewer. Toilet wouldn't flush, a/c wasn't working properly. Our car GOT BROKEN INTO the first night within an hour of parking. Staff tried to be helpful, but nothing they could really do. Said no cameras to look at. They gave me the non-emergency number for KC police but they basically laughed at me and told me to get online to file a report. Pointless. Security guard works only from 11 pm - 7 am. We couldn't stay our whole trip; obviously didn't want to leave our car with a broken out window for another night. We were not charged for that second night.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We went to the bar and they were extremely friendly and welcoming. it's a short walk to the Royals and chief Stadium. Huge breakfast bar the rooms were extremely clean and the mattresses were very comfortable.
Make sure that you call ahead of time and see if they have the restaurant open, if you are planning or wanting to eat there. We drove 16 hrs only to find out we had to drive and find food in a strange city. I'm sure if you are going for a game you won't have a problem. Windows were dirty inside and out. Breakfast was barely warm, no butter, too loud of music playing. Motel was ok.
The rooms were wonderful. Very clean. The hotel looked brand new. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. They also had a pack and play for my youngest child. The accommodations was two thumbs up. Close to the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royal Stadium. The Restaurant was wonderful. Quick service. Food was very affordable. I have never been to a hotel that had a restaurant and complimentary buffet breakfast. The pool was wonderful. felt very good. We will definitely be coming back again!!!
Filthy breakfast area. Food not refilled.spoke with front desk clerk she addressed the problem by saying "I will report to GM. Breakfast area had st least 2or 3 workers no one cleaned or restocked anything. Out of fruit, no bagels, guest had to ask 3 times for a spoon to eat her yogurt
This is a great place to stay. People are very friendly. It is not a 5-star hotel but it is a nice, clean, fairly well kelp hotel. It is also directly across from Arrowhead stadium. The only thing keeping it from 5-stars for my review is that the bar/restaurant needs a good looking after.
Very clean and happy employees, will to help and anwser questions The free breakfast was amazing, it also had some lunch items. Everything was warm and always bringing more out. Very nice staff. Nice pool inside clean. Walking distance to the Cheifs & Royal games. Taco Bell & Subway next door.
Hotel needs updated. Breakfast was cold. Was in a bad part of town. To many homeless people. Felt like a high crime area. Wouldn't recommend to anyway. Didn't feel safe. Was across the highway from the Chiefs stadium. Worst Best Western I've every stayed at. Won't stay there again.
Stayed here many times, when attending events at arrowhead. This property consistently declines. The check in took 40 minutes, finally got to the room, and there were no towels. The ac was loud and could barely keep the room comfortable. I paid over $700 for this room, because you can walk to the arena. I will make other plans next time.
We came during a busy time as events were happening that night, but this doesn't explain the upkeep of the rooms. At first when we arrived we were told we had to wait for rooms to be available when we booked it through Priceline. After we got our rooms, everything seemed ok excepts walls had black markings on them. The thing that was the most disturbing part of the room was the bath tub. Whatever they used to cover the nasty tub had peeled off. Please see attached photos. How is this exceptable. 😡😡
This is a first class Best Western. The check in was a little chaotic due to a computer being down but the ladies handled it beautifully. They were very professional. The property was completely booked due to a concert at Arrowhead stadium across the road. Our room was small but comfortable. The breakfast was the best of any Best Westerns where we have stayed.
The sheets were not clean , always check bedding before even taking my luggage to the room. Very disappointing! They gave me by a $50 discount off one nights stay and redid the bed. Big Whoop ! I would not recommend this hotel. Who doesn't change the bedding from previous customers!! Really ! I should've just left but our families were there for 2 games and they had already checked in. Big Royal fan here but this was my first night at this hotel and my last. The front desk was very helpful and after standing around for another hour the room was redone .
What a great place to have a drink at the bar & grill (great bartenders), easily park, walk 10 minutes to the Royals game w my buddy, stay in nice rooms and have an excellent breakfast. Great front desk staff too. The pool was basically empty in the morning and perfect for a few laps.
Phone didn't work so we couldn't ask for sheets for the fold out bed. One elevator didn't work We walked downstairs and asked for sheets and pillows at 10:30, they brought them up and knocked on the door at almost midnight. One person working check in and the line was to the door: Air conditioner didn't work
The staff were amazing but I was not satisfied with the room. This room might be ok for one night but definitely not 4. The air conditioning was not working properly and it was very warm in the room during the night in the middle of July. The room is very small. There's no access to the balcony and no windows so we felt locked in jail. The toilet made a loud noise for at least 30 minutes after flushing. The breakfast was good. The bed was somewhat comfortable. I wouldn't stay here for more than one night because I like to be comfortable if I'm staying at a hotel for several days.
Kayla greeted us during check in/out. She was very knowledgeable about the local area. Thank you Kayla for attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for what you do.
I was very pleased with Best Western Plus! The hotel was clean and staff were very friendly. There is an indoor pool with plenty of lawn chairs and a hot shower to rinse in. The breakfast is also delicious with plenty of options.
We stayed at this hotel for one night for a concert at Arrowhead. The walkable location is what everyone books this hotel for, and that was fantastic. The hotel looks very old when you drive up, but it has been updated inside and I was satisfied with the condition of the interior hotel and the room. Where our stay feel extremely short was absolutely awful customer service from Omar, who I believe is a front desk manager. As I was checking in he began yelling at my husband who was just standing and waiting for me all the way across the lobby, and in front of my 11 year old daughter. This was completely unprovoked and without reason and was quite shocking and put a damper on the start of our stay. Other than that, I recommend this hotel for a stay only if going to an event at Arrowhead because it is so convenient. Otherwise I highly recommend you look for a different hotel in the Kansas City area as this hotel has major management issues. I would hate to see what it was like if I actually had a real issue arise.
Walked to and from Arrowhhead Stadium to a concert. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfastg the next morning was a welcome over the continental breakfast served at most hotels.
We needed 3 rooms for family and they were nice. We stayed here because of the hotels convenient location next to the baseball field and it was 4th of july and they did not jack up the price. Pool and fitness center is nice. We would stay here if we come back to kansas city.
Stayed for 4 nights at this hotel in a King Room. Pictures show this hotel is a Best Western Premier, but it is a Plus and recently went from Premier to Plus. Website indicates the hotel was remodeled in 2024. Would like to know what was remodeled. Furniture in room had glass tops. Nothing in room looked remodeled. Room was small. AC fan is loud but it cools well. The vent is beside the desk so it was cold when sitting at desk with fan on. Bathroom is very small. No place to put toiletries. There is 1 hook in the entire bathroom. We don't like to change towels daily, but with no hooks where do you hang a towel to dry? The front staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Our first morning when we went to breakfast about 8:30 AM, there was very little to choose from that was fresh. There was no cereal. There were no waffle mixture - to close to shutting down. We were told the cook would not cook anything else since it was close to shutting down. A family of 7 walked in after us and left after seeing what was available. We went out to our car and the area of the lot closest to the door was being dug up and there were cones blocking the area in front of the door. It dug up area was eventually paved and striped. . No notice posted about this. Breakfast improved the next morning in that there was waffle mix and cereal. I would like to have seen low fat milk of some kind. Friday and Saturday was a big BBQ event at Arrowhead so there were lots of people staying there. Breakfast was crowded, but there was seating since the breakfast area is pretty good size. There were more food items available than the two mornings before. We did not go to the restaurant off the lobby. It opens at 5:00 PM. We did not use the business center, pool, or fitness center. Every day I had to sign into the Wi-Fi even if I did not turn the computer off. Having coffee in the lobby 24/7 and a water station was great. Would I stay there again - that remains to be seen.
For $500 dollars a night you would think we would have: a door that opened easily without slamming into it with a hip or shoulder, cold water from the tap, a workable coffee maker, regular coffee pods to replace the decaf ones, a more pleasant smell in the hallway, etc.
Stayed in room 514 6/28 to 7/1/24 Close to fwy and across the street from 2 stadiums This is a 6 story hotel with indoor halls that is mostly well-maintained and clean. The decor is contemporary . Safety not an issue and the staff is friendly It is next to I 70, there's traffic noise. I was still able to sleep Common areas like the lobby and breakfast area were cold. Too much AC Pet friendly and ADA compliant One elevator down and the other was sometimes slow. Used the stairs a few times. 14 steps per floor Other guests told me both lifts were out earlier that week No housekeeping service all 4 days. Asked for towels, they responded quickly There's a nice indoor heated pool and a decent gym Lobby has an ATM, comp cofee and water, vending and ice on all floors, meeting rooms and a business center There's a small convenience store Restaurant is a sports bar with a pool table. Friendly staff and clientele Menu is very limited and hours of operation were sporadic Breakfast buffet included Good selection that varied day to day. Room was cold and obnoxious with loud Disney cartoons playing. Enjoyed looking out the window at birds and other critters while I dined Parking is included in outdoor lot There's a nice sitting area out front There is public transportation Line 49 runs out front Didn't seem to run often Transport website not user- friendly Hotel surrounded by 2convience stores and gas stations , Taco Bell and a Subway Across the street there's the home of the NFL Chiefs and MlB Royals. Both are walking distance Went to a Royals game.Stadium is old and it had atmosphere Tickets as low as $7 for SRO tix. They have a bargain menu with $5 beer and $3 hot dogs. The staff and other fans are friendly, but not too knowledgeable. It was hard to find the stand with the cut rate stuff. Found it myself on the bottom flour 15 minutes to downtown Ate barbeque at Wolfpack Good food , nice people, small menu Close by is Blueline bar, lots of hockey decor. Nice downtown area where you can dine and shop and stroll by the river Went to Harry Truman Museum in Independence 30 minutes to airport Other than the stadium , not much to do here within walking distance This is the place to be if you want to go to events at the stadiums As the villain in a James Bond movie said “such good sport” PS I never been in a state where everyone is so friendly

We knew KC so we knew the distance to downtown, Westport and the Plaza. We did take tours of Arrowhead and Royal's stadium, but we had to take the care. Unless there is a game with a police person directing traffic you cannot cross the 4 lane highway safely. Tours were great, though. Would I stay there again - that remains to be seen.
The hotel staff was so calm when trying to check in a lobby full of guests. They were all working as a team as quickly as they could to get us all taken care of and handled the pressure tremendously!
My family were in KC for the Yankees/Royals games. Everyone was friendly at the hotel. Enjoyed the breakfast.
Love staying here when going to Royals or Chiefs games. Easy to get in and out of with the location being right next to the fields.
We selected this Best Western for an overnight stay that was within walking distance of Kaufmann Stadium to watch a KC Royals baseball game. The hotel was adequate for what we needed. There seemed to be only one way into and out of the parking lot and we were griped at for getting out of the car to go check in at the entrance. The guy barked that we were blocking traffic before we could close the car door as we were getting out. There was no other traffic behind us and the driver was still in the driver's seat to move the car once we exited the vehicle. Otherwise, the front desk staff was friendly, the room was clean and cool, and the beds were comfortable. Room was small but adequate. Due to its proximity just off the Interstate, there was road noise, but the air conditioner fan drowned out most of it. The complimentary hot breakfast was good enough, but they were out of several items. All in all, the convenience of the hotel to the stadium made it an acceptable stay.
We stayed for 2 nights. We were able to check in early. Staff was friendly, hotel was clean, breakfast was wonderful! Beds and pillows were very comfy. Kauffman Stadium was just a quick 10 min walk from the hotel. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Good location for sporting events, though out of the way for touring KC. The buses are free in KC but still took a long time to get places, so we ended up Ubering a lot.
A great hotel close to the stadium complex. Wonderful staff made us feel welcome, and we loved the breakfast.
Check-in was pleasant and efficient. When we got to our room, that's when things went down hill from there. We had just been on the road for 4 hours to get to this hotel and wanted to freshen up before we headed out for a nice evening. One step into the bathroom was about all that could be made before looking in the sink to brush my teeth and seeing two long brown hairs swirled around the drain of the sink. If that wasn't gross enough, pulling back the shower curtain revealed mold and scum buildup in almost all of the tile grout seams and also in the upper corners of the bathtub. Also, the hotel was too cheap to redo the gross/dirty self stick anti-slip strips in the bathtub, so they were just covered up incorrectly with some kind of self stick piece of white rubberized plastic that didn't even cover the old gross/dirty strips. The bathroom was also the size of a small outhouse where a person could hardly turn around without having to walk backwards to get out. Going into the bedroom part of the room, there was a big screen TV, but the remote had no guide button on it and there was no listing of channels printed out for the hotel guests, so had to scroll through the channels to try and find a local station for the weather/news that could never be found. The furniture in the bedroom area was worn and had seen its days. The desk chair was an old upholstered sitting chair with no wheels on it and that had lost almost all its stuffing in the chair seat. Going down for the complimentary breakfast the next morning was OK. The two women working bathe buffet lines were giving it their ‘all' to keep everything stocked and fresh. Kudos to them. The breakfast buffet consisted of canned fruit, cottage cheese, fresh fruit (bowl of cut up cantaloupe, honey dew and red seedless grapes. The ‘warm' part of the buffet consisted of not warm scrambled eggs, tough pancakes, cold chunks of breakfast potatoes and not warm bacon or sausage. You could make your own packet of oatmeal and through in a few condiments. There was a couple cereal options, bagel and muffin options, whole apples and whole bananas. There were the standard choices of orange juice, sweet tea and ice water, along with brewed decaf and regular coffees and a few choices of tea bags to make hot tea. Did not use indoor swimming pool, but it looked adequate (went up to 5 ft) and was stocked with towels. Needless to say, we would not close this hotel again, nor refer anyone there. PS - Don't let the ‘pretty' pictures on their website fool you.
Great hotel and service. Restaurant and bar right in the hotel. Food was great. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
Very comfortable and good value. Outstanding breakfast. Good AC. Comfortable beds. Some staff outstanding some just okay.
The staff was amazing!! We went to see Messi play at Arrowhead Stadium, you can walk to the stadium. Breakfast in the morning was a full breakfast buffett. It had eggs, fruit, yogurt, sausage, waffles, potatoes and more. The beds are very comfortable, hotel was sold out but it was quiet besides the horrible sound the elevator makes when it moves, which was the only negative of this hotel. We would definitely stay here again!!
I was there for the work week and stay was pleasant the whole time. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable. A good variety for breakfast and an espresso/Capuchino machine along with a filtered water dispenser. Great amenities!
The stay was nice and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The only thing I didn't like was breakfast was always almost gone. Even if you arrived between 8-9am there wasn't nothing left and there was no more food coming out. So you would have to make your own waffles in the waffle maker but you really wanted what was serve. Other than that my stay was great. I'm
!Place is great! Front desk lady is wonderful, So happy, friendly and greets you every time she see you with a smile. All of the staff seemed to like their jobs and were pretty great to. The beds and pillows are so comfortable. Free Breakfast was a full buffet and was so good! We loved how close it Is to chiefs stadium and we could walk to and from game within minutes! Definitely would recommend…GREAT PLACE
What a lovely hotel. There are some wins, there are some opportunities with the property, that said the staff is the most amazing staff I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED and a mid level/economy hotel. From the moment you walk in Deidre (DeeDee spelling might be wrong) give you a warm HOW YA DOIN and instantly you are happy to be there. She was there during the day on the weekend at least. The overnight help was amazing too. We had a rude neighbor who managed to get out to the balcony and was playing some country music at 2am that came right into the room. I let her know as well as Deidre the next morning. Well they called the neighbor guests and we slept like angels night 2 after the game. The location CAN NOT BE BEAT if you are going to a Chiefs or Royals game. Just across the street and there you are. I will only go to a game if I can stay here for life. It is that convenient. The breakfast is by far the most outstanding free brekkie I've ever had. Great choices and warm and friendly staff keeping an eye on the food and you. The opportunity for the property would be they need some upgrades to the doors that go to the balcony. Ours had holes where the handles once were that would let cold air in. I think maybe they should replace with windows that won't open to keep yahoos from figuring out how to get out. It is a little loud in the hallway, you can hear the doors open and close. This happens with older properties, and could use some updating there. Over all I could not be happier. They even have a bar/restaurant on site! I mean it's everything a Chiefs/Royals fan could ever want. Cheers
Thermostat could not regulate the temperature of the room. Room was extremely warm unless we just turn the unit off. Then we would freeze. The shower would not drain. Water would rise to our shin during taking a shower. Toilet flush was very weak and most of the time would not go down all the way.
We stayed here on Christmas Eve for the Chiefs Game on Christmas. For the occasion, they could have charged more just because they are right there within walking distance to Arrowhead and you can leave your car there - which saves you at least $50.00 in parking alone. The fresh and hot breakfast was just that! The gravy tasted so homemade and delicious. There were so many items everyone in our group found something they loved for breakfast - oh, and the ESPRESSO MACHINE in the lobby - so appreciated!!! The entire staff that we encountered was friendly and helpful.
Fantastic location if you're going to a football or baseball game. The short distance and convenience of not having to deal with traffic is awesome. Ate downtown at Jack Stacks...phenomenal BBQ. There's a small shopping area with a Walmart within 10 minutes of the hotel. Only complaint I would have is the lack of water pressure in the shower...other than that, it was a great visit. KC Chiefs fans are the greatest...they really made this trip fantastic. Go Bills!!
The staff went above and beyond throughout our entire stay. Check in was smooth and front desk staff was very friendly. When my baby got fussy we came down to the lobby and the staff turned on cartoons and got out a pack and play. We were a little late to breakfast, but staff members packed up the remaining items for our little one to have. Amazed at the amazing hospitality we had!
the staff was very friendly and took care of us they had an amazing breakfast the rooms where clean the gm was fantastic made sure me and my employees were very well taken care of in the six months there
We had a baseball weekend - so convenient to stadium (10 minute walk) and Kaufman Stadium is awesome place to watch a ballgame. Staff was exceeding friendly - always greeted with a wave, a smile or a nod. Felt like coming home after the game.
Our side window was smashed and our car looted. When we told the front desk it was like no big deal and acted like this happens frequently. Just know if you stay here your car is not safe and definitely don't leave anything inside. Police department in KC is also understaffed and unable to do anything. Not even worth calling them. I will never stay here again. Ruined the rest of our trip!
HIGHLY recommend you give them a shot if you're going to a game or concert. The staff was SO nice and helpful. The hotel was just what we needed for a quick trip to KC. The breakfast was actually very good too. Good selection of items & clean. It's not fancy, but it does the job and the staff deserves recognition for their great work.
I stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to arrowhead for a concert. Aside from the fact that it was super easy to walk across the street, the staff was unbelievably kind. From the front desk to the maintenance department and the restaurant staff, everyone was so cheery, kind, and accommodating. Always saying hello and asking if we needed anything! I would definitely stay here again, simply because they were all so amazing!
Very sharp and accommodating young manager. I was impressed with the way he handled an ugly situation. There was a power outage. A customer was stuck on the elevator, and was very upset and wouldn't let it go. I thought your manager handled the situation perfectly.
The buffet was very good, with a wide selection to choose from. The breakfast staff insured that food stayed fresh and fully filled. The front desk staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. The bed was the best we experienced, during our trip. To be noted, one of the light bulbs was out on the floor lamp, which should have been replaced before the room was offerred. Had to play with the TV remote/s batteries to get that working (not a big issue).
Greta location to ball park. Friendly staff and great service. Many options for breakfast. Staff was always keeping the lobby clean and the breakfast area. Always a smile on their faces. If you're going to a Royals game, this is the place to stay.
Like many others, we booked this hotel for our daughters to walk to a concert. If not for the excellent and friendly staff, I would probably have given two stars. The room seemed clean enough, but we experienced a lack of hot water, inadequate AC, and worst of all ants. They were swarming a pizza we had delivered shortly before the end of the concert, and really wasn't how we wanted to end the weekend.
I stayed a couple of nights for a concert and the hotel staff was absolutely amazing all very nice during a busy weekend. The room however was not great. There was never really any hot water during my stay. I heard through the connecting door the people in the next room complaining they didn't have hot water either. The fridge had spilled beer from the previous occupants in it. There were no wash cloths. The balcony door was left open from the previous occupants. The morning of my last day a big cockroach or something crawled under the air conditioner. I'm grossed out wondering if it came in because the balcony was open and was in there my entire stay. I only mentioned the bug at checkout. They said they would have maintenance look in to it. If it had not have been for the bug I would probably have given 4 stars.
We booked this hotel so we didn't have to deal with traffic after a concert at Arrowhead, and given the cost of parking there (and free parking at the hotel) it is a very great deal. The rooms are a good size and have a fridge and microwave, which is nice, as well as nice bathroom items including complementary make-up wipes. The beds are comfortable and the linen soft. Very clean room. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great, but adequate. Very friendly and helpful staff!
New experience with this hotel. I got screamed at, and called a pig by Ramon Hinson, whom I assume runs the kitchen at the hotel. (Ramon is the name I was given at the desk.) Ramon put paper plates on top of the standard breakfast plates and began to tell the patrons they were not allowed to use the regular plates and took the plate from the lady in front of me. I replied “at $259 a night you'd think we could use real plates.” This set Ramon off and he began to follow me back to my seat yelling at me in front of a full room eating breakfast that he was short staffed and they didn't pay him enough for his work. I sat down, assuming he was just ranting but he then stood over me in a threatening stance and continued to attack me in front of my wife and children. I then leave the room to go to the front desk for assistance and he follows me to the front desk and yells at my wife “I'm sorry you have to be married to such a pig”, in front of another group of people who had no context to the situation. I just stood there at the counter in shock of the blatant disrespect. I asked if any disciplinary measures would be taken and the manager at the counter Diedre said that was not up to her. She did however apologize for the man's behavior and said she will refund my room, hopefully they at least come through on that. Once Diedre said she had refunded my room I returned to the dining area to get my family. At this point Ramon stood in the door way physically blocking it, said I was not allowed in his dining area, and would not let me to my family. When I tried to walk by him he screamed in my face “you are barking up the wrong tree!” My kids were visibly shaken by the event. In short, hotel was fine, convenient to the stadium, but the staff will attack you.
The best experience. Staff, amenities, room, breakfast, location are the best. Located right off of I-70 makes it easy to get to. Great customer service all around. Breakfast is hot and tastes amazing. I will definitely be staying there again.
we travel a lot for business and pleasure, the front desk Lady Sameenah is the best we have ever met,so nic,so cheery,so pleasant and helpful, what a gem, after a long trip she had everything set up before we arrived and greeted us with a wonderful smile,so helpful,
I stayed here for a Chiefs game and it was great. We walked to the stadium, had an excellent breakfast before the game--great variety & plenty of food. The staff here is wonderful. So helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend!!
What we like is the hotel is .05 mile to the stadium, short walk and no parking fees or headaches getting out at the end of the game. The crew at the hotel are very kind and helpful..the food was awesome and we will return again! This has been our 9th stay.
The property had received a small amount of snow several days before our arrival, however the parking lot was iced over and hadn't been plowed properly. There were no sidewalks or walking paths and the only way in from the parking lot was to slide through the parking lot where cars were sliding as well. Since the parking lot has a downgrade we saw several other guests' vehicles bump into each other due to the locations lack of concern for the parking lot. The night we stayed, 5 cars were broken into. According to the hotel staff, "That happens all the time. The security cameras haven't worked in over a year." I witnessed a guest cut themselves on the broken glass and when the front desk lady was asked for a band-aid, she proceeded to rudely tell the guest that they were not liable for the vehicle break ins and there was a Walgreens down the road she could go buy one at. Sadly, she dismissed the guest who needed some aid and turned to another guest who happened to be the same race as her and said, "Can you believe those people! How can I help you?" It goes without saying, we won't return to this location ever again, and probably won't ever stay at a Best Western again.
TV issues only has 5 channels, until asking to switch rooms. Water sounded like it was running in the pipes all night long. Unbeknownst to me or my son the alarm was preset to 6am. I paid a lot of money knowing it was close to Arrowhead Stadium and that was pretty much the only thing the hotel had going for it.
The staff and service are great! You can't beat the location if you're attending a Kansas City Chiefs or Royals game, if you're there for anything else, you will need a vehicle. This is definitely walking distance to the stadium's.
Was easy to find. Clean room, the bathroom was clean. Had plenty of towels and refrigerator worked good. When you enter the building the lobby is very nice gives you a comfortable feeling. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
It was a very nice place to stay especially for football games. The bar/lounge was obviously crowded but the staff did a good job keeping up. The breakfast set up was excellent and the staff acted quickly to clean the tables.
We have stayed at this property twice to attend a sporting event. We travel with a pet, so this is a nice pet friendly hotel that is very convenient to both the Royal's and Chief's stadiums. Both stays we have been given room 100. AVOID this room at all cost. It should be converted to a storage closet. I guess it is just poor luck, as there is no way a pet friendly hotel has only one pet friendly room. The room is basically in the elevator and hotel lobby. You can hear everything that happens. It is extremely loud and after you have not slept all night due to the noise, housekeeping starts knocking on the door at 8:30 am and keeps coming around every hour until you leave. Pros: Convenient, Pet friendly, clean. Cons: Pricey, uncomfortable beds, dated, loud, understaffed (even pre covid)
The staff was very helpful, hardworking and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable and this location was perfect for our trip. I highly recommend this hotel and we would most definitely stay here again.
The pillows on the bed were phenomenal and made it worth the stay. Only 1 I've maker was working and we could not take any breakfast food to our room. Right across the street from the chiefs stadium which made it great for going to the chiefs game
Great place to stay if starting a bike trip on the Rock Island Trail south from Kansas City. Short ride to the trailhead. Great view of the stadiums. Hotel and room was clean. Disappointed in room air conditioning efficiency, cooked to order breakfast food and staff were good (disappointed they were not running their buffet the day we stayed). The pool area was clean and enjoyable for our group. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
We had a normal stay for the Labor Day weekend. They had a challenge for serving breakfast on the first morning, and tried to compensate but did not compensate well. The room is a bit cramped, water pressure is low. You should always ask the front desk for the room needs, they are not automatically provided or refilled every morning unlike other hotels.
If it wasn't for the location, I would not stay here. The staff was not around half of the time and multiple guests had to find someone for sheets, towels, etc. Towels were left outside our door...we didn't return until after the baseball game.
Great location if you're attending a baseball or football game. Also very convenient to downtown and Other attractions. Friendly and attentive service. It wasn't our 1st stay and it won't be the last.
They run this dump like a prison. You are not allowed to take even your breakfast to your room. This place is a joke. The people that work the from tldest are miserable and the air conditioning doesn't work.
The only good thing about my stay on this weekend was that it was walking distance to the ballpark. No pool, no restaurant, terrible TV reception, no internet and NO breakfast offered. All these amenities were supposed to be included in the price I paid for the weekend. Not worth the 600.00 I paid:(
Stayed at this hotel to watch a weekend of baseball at Kauffman Stadium. Location was perfect for the weekend and not too far to enjoy the nightlife in downtown. Uber was accessible from the hotel. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
If you are going to the Royals games and you don't want to drive or pay for parking at the stadium then the Best Western Premier is the place to stay. I'm 67 years young and I walked to the stadium. I Ubered from the hotel to see KC and eat at the best BBQ joints and it cost me less? than a rental car for 4 days I would have given BWP 5 stars if the pool was available. I'll be back to stay to see the Chiefs play.
approximately 2 hours to check in. NO express or pre-check in allowed. Room was not yet serviced. When it did get serviced, sheets were not changed, no coffer service not fully wiped down. Air conditioning issues. Food or lack of food at the free breakfast was an issue. Guest Services were cheerful and helpful.
Very convenient if you are going to a Royals or Chiefs game. Just walk across the street and down the hill and you're there. Clean rooms with fridge and microwave. Fantastic staff all around, friendly and cheerful! Nice breakfast buffet with eggs, bacon, waffles, bagels, cereal, milk and juice.
Worst hotel experience ever the breakfast is very mediocre its the best part about it the hallways smell like mildew and feel like a sauna the the rooms are very small and cramped and out dated and very over priced. I wouldn't recommend staying there ever.
Very outdated, A/C kept room at a constant 79… it was set at 61. There was medicine on the floor. The wallpaper was falling from the walls. I pre-registered so I could save time but waited in line, behind 3 people, for 20 minutes. I chose this hotel because of its location near Kauffman stadium. They charge premium prices because of location but definitely do not put money back into the building.
We booked this hotel so that we could walk to the K for a Royals baseball game. That plan worked out great. The staff at the front desk, bar/grill, breakfast and throughout the hotel were kind, gracious, accommodating and friendly without exception. The TV/fridge/shower/wifi in the room all worked well. From there, things were pretty much disappointing and not at all worth the price of the room ($250). Two of the three room keys issued were not programmed correctly. The hallways had an unpleasant, strong odor. The walls, ceilings, trim, furnishings, etc. were mostly tattered, stained, broken or otherwise dingy. The ice machine on the sixth floor was out of service. The air conditioning in the room was not able to cool to the temperature we set and ran constantly. The Bar/Grill was only open from 5pm - 10pm on Saturday and they had no food service for appetizers/dinner making it impossible to patronize the Bar/Grill before or after the game. We were issued coupons for breakfast but no one was available to collect them? The hot food selections on the breakfast bar were stored at room temperature which could have made us sick for the long drive home. This property is basically on par with a cheap Roadway Inn but incredibly overpriced because of it's location near the sports complexes.
Stayed for Motley Crue / Def Leppard Stadium Tour 2022 at Kauffman Stadium. We picked this location so we could walk to concert instead of getting stuck in stadium traffic. I pre registered. At check in time a large line formed quickly. Some one called out my name because I was pre registered. I went to different area of desk and quickly signed the papers and was given a key card. No kidding! Two minutes and I had card key while everyone else waited in line. General Manager was wonderful. Bar was opened early for us so we could have a drink before the concert. General Manager helped make us a special "GM breakfast" with a few of his childhood favorites. Breakfast burritos were great! All staff very friendly and helpful. Beds and pillows very soft and comfortable. Would stay there again.
We had our room booked for (July 19,2022)for a long time before the concert and we were so glad, we had a friend ask us if we could get them a room and with the help of General Manager Ramon Hinson and him and I talkin almost weekly he was able to make it happen , I will tell you he is the nicest man We got to meet him as he was checking us in, the staff at this hotel are so nice and very helpful with everything, this hotel Is clean and the beds are very comfortable they do also offer a breakfast in the mornings, unfortunately during this time right now the restaurant is not open , they do have a lounge area open I am not sure of the hours and I do not have pictures as we were running late and had to get to the stadium for the concert, I will tell ya this is the place to stay for a Royals game or if you are going to Chiefs Kingdom at Arrowhead you can walk I will recommend this hotel I mean even if you are not going to a game or concert they will be there for you and willing to help, GREAT JOB Ramon and your entire staff keep up the great work !
This location should by no means hold the premiere name. we've been to many other best westerns in far better conditions than this one is. The management should be changed over if I'm being completely honest. Upon arrival, it does not have that clean hotel smell that should be coming from it. It also should have been a warning sign that the location is not ideal with other run down dumps around it. We only chose this location due to attending a Royals ball game and the convince we believed it would bring to traveling to that with a little one. It's not an ideal walk or crossing to the game. The exterior is a complete dive, and not kept up. The photos online must be older and from previous management. There seemed to be a lot of lingering so called friends of the workers hanging around there. This is not good imaging for the hotel, let alone the Best Western brand. As for the room itself, ick! The ceiling looked to have mold spots, and the wall paper bubbling and falling from the wall. The bathroom toilet was easily clogged, and we were gifted a plunger to fix it. This tells me this is a common occurrence. The tub did not drain water very fast at all! Nothing like standing in a shower with 6-8 inches of water within the tub. Needless to say, I would never consider putting my little one in this tub to bathe, even with a towel laid down. The plumbing needs some major work. We were also disappointed to find out that their pool was not working. Found this out by one of the many people hanging around the front desk area as we were dressed up for the pool and ready to go. Breakfast was to have a full buffet. This was not the case, they ran out of majority of the food by 7:30am! We decided to cut our reservation short and leave after 1 night, rather than stay thru our 3 night reservation. Long story short, I should have read the previous reviews and this could have been avoided entirely. If I can save anyone else from this disgust, you're welcome!
Quick and friendly check-in. We had multiple rooms and they worked to get rooms together on the same floor. Our rooms were clean and ready for us. Our view was great. Housekeeping was helpful! Definitely will stay here again!
After declining housekeeping the first night and privacy sign on our door, staff still entered our room while we were away for the day. None of the ice machines worked but only one was marked out of order. Breakfast vouchers were required but the staff collecting them was not friendly and did not always remember who they collected vouchers from.
First, the positives: Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The wait staff in the breakfast area was a nice gentleman. Easy checkout. Hotel is a short (but somewhat dangerous) walk to Kauffman Stadium across four busy lanes of traffic (a hotel shuttle to the stadium would be a great idea on game day). The negatives: ground floor hallway smelled really musty and foul, the sixth floor hallway and room air conditioning units were horrible. The breakfast requires a voucher and absolutely no food is allowed to leave. The bed felt old and springy. One of the elevator shakes a ton going up. Felt like it wanted to breakdown at any time. It was uncomfortable as heck (like the room bed). Overall, probably okay for a one night stay but definitely avoid long term (or for more than one night).
Checked in and asked the lady at the front desk If I could see the rooms before I paid for them... She said she could not do that. Treated badly and breakfast was tastless, dry and terrible. Overcharged us for the stay. Paid $134 and the value I got was more like a $60 hotel. All staff would look at you like you didn't belong there. Felt very unwelcome.
I was staying Friday thru Sunday bcuz it's close to my business which I sometimes do when I work open to close back to back. I was horrified to discover no hot water for entire hotel all weekend long. Never got my 8am wake up call either! Normally I've enjoyed my stay but not this time. I'm very upset. Still upset about it days later. Was planning on staying there next wkd too but not now. Was offered $100 off. That's crap.
Warnings to future guests: Make sure the bathroom works properly. When we were there 5/20-21/22, there was no hot water, and there were bathroom drainage issues. FYI: there might be noisy fireworks nearby, if there's a game.
Multiple cars were broken into in the middle of the night. Security guard is on site but obviously does not patrol the parking lot (which is very small. Other staff indicated this is a common occurrence. Obviously the hotel has not taken security measures or provided adequate/competent staffing to overcome this issue. Their initial response is that "it is not our problem". This specific location is very damaging to the Best Western brand because it is not typical of my experience at other Best Western hotels.
The hotel was conveniently located across from the stadiums, but there isn't a safe way to cross the highway unless there is police stopping traffic. The hotel was overall just okay otherwise. It's way over priced for the age and quality of the hotel. And our room wouldn't get below 77 degrees so we got zero sleep.
I would absolutely never stay here. The pictures are so far from what it actually looks like. There was trash all over the entire entrance. The blinds were hanging down in the windows and it was just DIRTY!!!
Outside horrible looking, trash all over. Overbooked and overrated. Definitely not worth the $200 per night. Breakfast was a joke. Undercooked food and dirty tables. Never again! I suggest you do your homework before staying here.
Our room was never cleaned. Someone got their vehicle stolen from the parking lot. We could walk to our event though, so it was okay. The restrurant menu is so limited. The kids loved the pool. Quite.
The hotel itself and the staff was excellent. However, when we loaded our luggage into our car Saturday morning it would not start. Someone had stolen our Catalytic Converter from my car during the night while it was in the parking lot. It cost me $420.00 that afternoon just to get it running temporarily in order to get it back home. I realize that hotel is not responsible for things like that, but I wish there was better security, lighting, and cameras in the parking lot. So, I don't think I am coming back to that hotel.
Mario was amazing!!! He worked front desk and assured our trip even though the third party company set the reservation up for the day prior by accident. My truck broke down, I'm not from this city, I was 10 hours into the drive to Minnesota when my starter went out at 1 am, it took 2 1/2 hours to get a tow but everytime we called him to make sure we could come considering it was going on 2-3 and 4 am, he assured us that when kids are involved he will not turn away, EVERY other hotel in town was booked or wouldn't accommodate the fact that we were coming so late due to the truck randomly stopping. He checked us in even at 3 am when he told us over the phone his shift ended at 2:30, he said he had 30 mins until the end of his shift, this was at 2:00 am and he stayed stayed just so we wouldn't be stuck out. Very professional, very nice, very humble, best part of my night especially considering the unfortunate events. I almost thought we would be sleeping in the broken down truck in a random parking lot. This was amazing to say the least in customer service that I've received all month. Thank you so much Mario Davis
Deidra at the front dest was awesome. Friendly upbeat very helpful. The restaurant and bar was very good. Breakfast was a full hot meal. Clean and friendly. Room was clean. I will return to that motel again.
I'd definitely recommend using this hotel. I reserved a room before arriving and it was quick and easy getting my room. Location was great too. Not too far from tourist locations, and the traffic to get into the hotel was not terrible.
If I could have given it a zero I would have! We booked an ADA accessible room. We made sure they understood we had a person in a wheelchair with us. Upon arriving we were told our room was downstairs. Let me tell what else is down stairs. Laundry and housekeeping. That in and of itself is insulting. They can't even give handicapped people a room on a normal level. It was IN THE BASEMENT with the laundry, maintenance and housekeeping! If that wasn't bad enough we went to push the chair in to the room and it was blocked with furniture! A normal size wheelchair could NOT roll in to the room. The manager was down there and said “well there's a roll in shower”. I'm not sure she understood that to use it you have to be able to get in the room. She blamed the whole thing on best western. She said corporate says it's good. I will be calling corporate you can bet your bottom dollar on that. On top of all this the pool was closed by the HEALTH DEPARTMENT! Needless to say we left. We didn't have any choice as the wheelchair wasn't able to roll in to the room. We spent the next two hours looking for a hotel…with my sister apologizing because she has a chair. That should have never happened and I intend to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else!
The manager is very rude and disrespectful don't think she knows how to deal with people or run a hotel I am a platinum member and have never been treated like this at any hotel the ball room was cold and I was told that the heat broke for 2 months what a joke for a hotel
Service was good, the look is nice but definitely needs some plumbing help done. Shower water ran back into tub, the room was clean and smelled nice but my little one did find someone else's sock in the bathroom.
If you have to stay here then stay as far away from the elevator as you can. Same breakfast every day. Staff are hit or miss. I was lucky and had nice interactions where others in our group had very ugly confrontations.
The staff was rude, the smells were appalling, the rooms were hot, the balcony door bolted shut, the water in the entire hotel was turned off without warning, the bathtubs weren't draining, the hotel is not being maintained - will not stay there again
Same two or three loud cars racing up and down parking lot all night, every night. Probably friends of overnight staff as loud talking, and congregating was common. Empty beer littering parking lot in the morning. Security service car with loud exhaust and blaring radio. Trash, dog droppings and cigarette butts close to front entrance.
Everything was great. Disappointed, however, in size of room based on price. It was a little cramped, there was no desk, and lighting was poor. Pool room smelled horrible as well. We were disappointed on smell and did not stay. One thing that stood out was the windows. The windows looked like they havent been washed in years. Complimentary breakfast, staff, as phenomenal
After reading other mixed reviews we were hesitant and I'm sure glad we ended up staying here. From the check in to the check out everything was awesome!!! We came for the football game and it was the perfect location. Walking across the street for the football game was the best. Check in was very wonderful and friendly. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was large and filled to the top with plenty of food. The breakfast servers were very nice and cleaned tables quickly. The check out was also easy. If we ever go back to this area, we will defiantly stay here again and recommend to others.
The hotel would have received a 5, but only had 2 small issues. 1. The toilet in the room would not stop running, maintenance did come, but unfortunately just did not know how to fix the issue; tried to move us, however the hotel was PACKED. 2. Lots of snow/ice in the parking lot could have been scraped/ salted better. Now the GREAT stuff… 1. The STAFF!!!!!!! AMAZING! Everyone from the GM to the desk staff, to security in the parking lot was WONDERFUL! 2. Cleanliness!!!!! The whole hotel was spotless.. continually cleaning the hotel with all the snow, ice and a home playoff game for the Chiefs! 3. LOCATION!!! So easy to walk to Arrowhead Stadium! So nice to be at in your seat in 15 minutes!!! And not sitting in traffic to get out after the game! I will stay again if I come back to Arrowhead and or see some Baseball!!
I arrived a little before 9 to check in after driving for 13 hrs. Sliding doors to lobby were locked. Sign in foyer said doors would be locked at 11 pm and to use intercom or call. Obviously, I arrived well before 11, so not sure why doors were locked. I called the front desk three times over the course of several minutes (phone records show 5 minutes between first and last call), and it simply rang out. Decided to try the bar, since I could hear loud music playing. Same result. Pushed the intercom button multiple times. No answer. Started knocking on the door. No answer. Banged on the door, and they finally slid open. Found front desk attendant, Jessica, IN the bar. She then made me wait at the desk for a few more minutes while she did something in the back. When I mentioned I had been waiting for 10 minutes in the foyer, she said “Oh, please, I was gone for 30 seconds. The camera will show it.” I said that I called three times and had pushed the intercom. She said it wasn't that long. I asked to speak to her manager and for the attendant's name, which she initially refused to give me (did not have name tag on). I asked why the doors were locked, and she said they lock at 7 pm. I said the sign says that they lock at 12, so if you're going to lock them, change the sign. She just shrugged. I again asked for her manager, and she just told me she wasn't available - didn't say when she'd be available or how I could reach her. The room itself is fine - nothing to write home about, but it will do. Mostly, I am extremely disappointed by the fact that I wasn't even checking in at a late hour and could not gain access to the lobby for 10 minutes. As a woman traveling alone, that's just not acceptable. Then, to be met by a scoffing, rude, and dismissive front desk attendant was even worse. I will never stay here again.
I thought being across from stadium would be a good area, not! Seedy area of town and employees were just as shady. Asking if we wanted to pay cash to park there and walk to game, I paid for a room so should park for free asked for manager and she said policy. Restaurant manager rude saying no one wants to work, no with his attitude no one wants to work for him. I'll drive to Independence next time
Read a lot of bad reviews, so I was a little apprehensive about staying here, but it was convenient to Arrowhead Stadium, so booked anyway. Some of the reviews were in reference to the staff. They were wrong. We were warmly greeted and the lady that checked us in was so friendly. The hotel is a little dated, but I felt it was clean and safe. As it was game day, they did a great job of making sure only their customers were allowed in to park. Will stay there again. Very positive experience. It was game day so the price was probably jacked up a little, but by far a lot cheaper that a DWI.
Cheifs vs Raiders game. Traveled from Oregon and this was a perfect location to walk over to the game. Only thing I would change is the outcome of the game. Cheifs gave us a woopin' this season. See you next year KC!
We had a great stay! I was a little concerned due to some negative reviews. We felt the hotel was clean, the breakfast was good and Monte and Jennifer were awesome, along with all other staff members! You can not beat the ease of parking and walking to the stadium.
They failed to inform me about rate change after reservation. Charged $800 for a 2 night stay. Expected charge was $231. There are much better hotels near here for the money! There were no towel racks or hooks in the room. There was water damage in the ceiling. The water pressure was bad and the tub didn't drain properly.
Our room had cracks in the wall & ceiling, a dirty tub/shower and the t.p. holder was coming out of the wall and the surrounding area was seedy and scary. I didn't feel safe walking my dog. The employees were nice, but we would not stay there again.
Okay, you asked for my review and you are getting it. There are so many things wrong with this place that I do not know where to start. Yes you can stay here for a game and get there in one piece. However, we got here and noticed there was a balcony. It did not open, it was screwed shut but not very well as the door was twisted so you could here he traffic all night long not to mention the noise! Next let's talk about the bathroom. I hope I can attach pics to this disaster. The tub, doesn't drain, sink also doesn't drain, toilet, breaks the chain and you get to fix it yourself. Also toilet has weird stains all along the side. When another room flushes their toilet you hear your toilet run. You charge way too much for a game night and think that because most people drink that they won't notice but guess what? We notice and it is horrid. You get away with crappy service because you are so close to the stadium that most people do not care. Well we do care and we feel disgusting staying here. You cleaning staff can not miss these simple things and the fact that you act surprised when they are brought to your attention is ridiculous. Do better is all we ask. I am sure my review will go nowhere as always but as a rewards member for many hotels you would think my opinion is valued. Please reach out to compensate
I needed a place to stay for the night that was centrally located. I thought this place would be good. First off, the parking lot is horrible. Enough about that. I was charged an incidental fee, which I have never known a Best Western Premier to do. I was not asked what room type I would like. The employee assumed a double was good enough. I was half heartedly thanked for being a diamond member and given water plus 500 bonus points. The room was just okay. Small frig. Just okay. Checkout was fun. Went downstairs about 10 a.m. Another guest was sitting in the lobby as I approached the desk. He said, she went out for a cigarette, she'll be back in a minute. About 10 minutes later she showed up SMELLING of that NASTY cigarette smoke on her person, hands, breath!! I most likely will NOT stay here again. Hard to believe this is a Premier status hotel. It sure doesn't reflect like one.
Wrong date, made me pay twice for a room...poor management, no follow-up after being told that would happen...my money doesn't matter, then maybe my public criticism will get me feel better. It's too bad customer service isn't important.
VERY convenient for the Chiefs' games! We walk across the street to the stadium, don't have to pay for parking. Nice hotel, needs some attention to the landscaping. The weeds are taking over the beds. The wallpaper is peeling in the rooms, carpet in the hallways needs to be replaced, plumbing needs to be updated. Overall, it's a nice place, just needs to be updated.
The hotel was fine and as expected for a Best Western within walking distance to the Chiefs stadium. But the real gem here is Tessie at the Boulevard Grill! Our flight home was canceled and we ended up staying an extra night. She was incredibly nice and made our unplanned third night so much better with some beer and a friendly conversation! Definitely check out the Boulevard Grill if you stay here!
Reported problems in regard to the plumbing to be ignored. Requested housekeeping to have that request ignored as well. Bar/ restaurant was understaffed and ran out of most items on their very limited menu.
Unfortunately this was not the best day the hotel was in disrepair the elevator had been vandalized by an intoxicated individual so there was bare wires hanging from the electronics the other elevator did not work the heated pool was not heated the handicap chair did not work and nobody could help us the employee serving breakfast was dressed in dirty clothing and we didn't know he was even an employee and he took our food off of the table. The room was clean and the amenities in the room were fine except for the fact that there was an old sliding glass door that had been sealed off and it was ugly and dirty and uncapped and the balcony was
The hotel was nice. The manager of the kitchen was super nice and worked his tail off to accommodate the big crowd Only one elevator worked and it was during a Royals home game so it took a bit to get back to our room.
The price paid for the quality of the room was extremely uneven. I paid almost $900 for a standard room and the front desk person said that was the best room available. For that amount of money I would expected a higher quality room
Great stay for games, can't beat the convenience, and staff very friendly and helpful. Meals were very good, full breakfast buffet included and good value meals in the restaurant. Not a party hotel for games, guests friendly and sociable. Clean, nice fitness facility, clean and well-maintained pool, parking is easy.
Stayed here Saturday-Monday to attend the KC Chiefs vs. LA Chargers game. This is easily the closest hotel to the stadium (5 min walk just across the street). We could see Arrowhead from our room. The full spread hot buffet breakfast (included in the price) was amazing and worth $10-15 itself. The in-house bar/grille was the perfect spot to mingle with other Chiefs fans and watch college/NFL football. Waitress Charlie was easily the MVP. She brought excellent service with a smile and that classic midwestern hospitality. 10/10 would absolutely recommend and I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I was to return to a Chiefs game.
Lots of things need repair. Nice people, but the place is old and hasn't been well cared for. I STRONGLY recommend you make another choice. It is definitely not worthy of a "Premier" badge from Best Western. When was the last time they inspected this property? I'm a tour operator, and fully intended to use this hotel for a group next year. Glad I visited first. Ouch.
The website advertises balcony rooms but the doors to access the balcony a screwed shut. When I complained to the front desk about paying more money for the balcony rooms I was told I had a nice view of the stadium, which it's not a nice view, you can see it but that's it.
Unfortunately, our stay was horrible. The bath room was disgusting with mold, no trash can, and this pink stuff under the sink (mold again?) not to mention the worst, the elevators were out of code and expired in 2016. That is nearly 6 years ago! How safe is that for our families? That is absolutely ridiculous. We expect for our families to enter a business entity and that entity be up to date on their inspections, codes, clean, and etc for the safety our us, their guest. Not to mention, half of the staff was walking around not wearing their mask properly. There were signs everywhere asking guest to wear their mask for the safety of the staff and visitors but the staff isn't doing what they are asking of us.... make it make sense.
Stayed in the hotel for 1 night at the start of September as the Sox were in town. Large parking lot, which appeared to be secure. reception was big and has a bar / restaurant facility. Room was large with 2 x queen beds, both were comfortable. Bathroom was good. We were in KC for less than 12 hours, of which we spent 4 hours in the room. Ticked the boxes for our trip. It is 10 mins walk from Kauffman and just off the interstate.
We stayed at this hotel to attend the Royals baseball game. It was so perfect, the stadium was just across the street. It took us 2 Minto get their by car. The rooms were clean, the air conditioning was on when we got there. The beds were very comfortable, I slept so good. The breakfast was hot and delicious and they had such a variety of things to eat. The inside was very nice they had a snack place so you can purchase water, chips, candy ect. The people that worked there was very helpful always saying hello to us. I have a really nice vacation and we will be back.
After reading the reviews for this hotel, we were hesitant and wary, but were pleasantly surprised and happy we chose it. Our room was very large (King) with great amenities and very clean. (I looked in corners because of other reviews.) All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. It really was a short 10 minute walk to the baseball stadium as stated. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful, hot, and had many options. We would definitely stay here again.
My company vehicle was broken into during the late night or early morning, I would know exactly, because the manager would not allow me to review the camera footage. I was parked 7 parking places from the main, entrance, near 3 camera, and they do catch where I parked, Hotel manager just said, "Sorry, here's the number for the local KCPD". Kansas City Police Department. No help from the hotel, and the local PD did state this has been a big issue here at this location due to the homeless and their camps are near by, and they have to respond weekly for this same issue. By the way, I was the 3rd caller for this same thing, at this same hotel first thing that morning. Manager states, "no, this never happens", when asked. BS Steer away from this location.
Very nice hotel. Clean, clean, clean; lobby, elevator, halls and room. Very easy walk to Arrowhead stadium. Didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but did check it out and found the decor tired and dated, unlike the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was great and in a very nice dining room. Will be back!
Our stay was interrupted by the guests next to us fighting until 1:00am. When we notified the front desk and they said something to the guest they just turned io the tv. Had a fire alarm go off at 3:42am and once back in our room the same guest next to us proceeded to loudly watch tv for another hour. At 7:00 am housekeeping began knocking on doors waking us up once again.
Great location to get to Arrowhead or Kauffman Stadium. The outside appears aged, but inside the rooms are large and comfortable. Nice restaurant and great continental breakfast. Staff was courteous and friendly.
We stay at this property whenever we attend our yearly Kansas City Royals game. The proximity to Kauffman stadium is wonderful! We are able to walk to the game since there's crossing guards and a paved walkway to the stadium. This hotel has been under multiple hotel names/management and while this isn't the nicest hotel, this is probably the cleanest and updated it has been in many years. The staff is very friendly and we love the bar/grill on site. Breakfast is included in the stay - it's standard breakfast fare but was delicious and there was a great variety of food. We love the bar/grill on site and the server, Tessie, is absolutely amazing. She is so incredibly friendly! Food was incredible and drinks were delicious. We ate there twice during our stay it was so good!
Stayed 3 nights. Short walk to the K. Employee Tess in the bar grill was great, food was good and service was quick after Friday and Saturday games. Room was clean and spacious. Only one elevator was working and wished bar grill was open on Sunday.
Before you book this hotel call and find out if the elevators work. One was broke and the other seemed to stick on the 6th floor. A lot of people were lugging luggage up flights of steps. Cleanliness was just ok some improvement could be made. On the positive side, the free breakfast was very good.
Chose due to location which was good but will never stay here again. The exterior was worn and landscaping overgrown. Both elevators broke-carrying an infant and pack n play up 5 flights was not acceptable. Pool ladder broke causing me to get my leg trapped between the wall and ladder. When I mentioned that it needed fixed to the front desk they didn't ask any questions. I did reiterate that it needed fixed so a child did not get hurt using them. Personnel was not friendly except for one who had to fix all of the other ladies mess ups (trying to charge me twice for one room). Restaurant service was nonexistent. We sat for 30+ minutes and no one ever came to us or anyone else around us. Finally left and ate at the ballpark.
Location was great, easy access from interstate. Parking and road into the hotel was narrow and only room for one car in or out. One road access to front of hotel, parking was tight. Sign of hotel - the Best Western was in small print under another name, which was hard to see from road. Grass/lawn areas needed some TLC. Rooms seemed clean, the deco needed to be updated, wall paper was lifting off wall, mold in the grout in shower. Needs some refinishing touches. Overall it was a quiet stay and air conditioner did it's job keeping the room clean. Staff was friendly. Would stay again, however if they don't upgrade appearances, I would rather not pay 4 star prices.
Dirty comforter, towels, remote, and vanity. When mentioned to the front desk staff the cleaning staff became aggressively defensive and the situation became super embarrassing as more guests arrived in the lobby.
The only thing going for this hotel is its location to the 2 stadiums! The cooling/heating needs to be updated for the entire hotel! Our room had wet carpet due to the leaky cooling unit that only got worse the next day. Reported it to staff and the maintenance man did the best he could as we weren't the only ones with this problem!
Was going to royals game, perfect location could walk to stadium. Hot breakfast which was nice. A little pricey but it was worth it. We will definitely stay here again next time we are going to a royals game!!
Wanted to stay close to the field so we did not have to drive and park and drive back. Great hotel across street from ballpark. Rooms are great size and plenty of well lit parking. Staff were great getting everyone handled in time for the game. Lobby large and looks great. Police officers available after the game to help cross folks back to hotel. Easy to find and easy access back to interstate
The best western premiere property at this location did not have premiere property standards. Wet floors in the guest rooms prostitute coming in and out of the hotel, folks Lauren at the front door smoking cigarettes, children hanging out past 1130 at the front door.
The handicap rooms are in the basement along with the hotel laundry and mechanical rooms. A back entrance was available but without handicap parking. The room was actually too small for the 2 queen beds; they were almost against each wall with barely enough room for his walker in between them. You definitely couldn't have gotten a wheelchair in the room. The bathroom was big but there were no towel bars except on the side of the sink. In order to get to the shower bench, you had to climb over a tall tub side.
Overall, they had decent rooms, average amenities, and a convenient location. But, given the level of customer service and their only average amenities, I was disappointed. A woman was working the service counter when we arrived at 2:10 p.m. We asked her if it would be possible to check in early (we indicated 2:00-4:00 p.m. arrival on the pre-registration). She rolled her eyes and didn't say anything but started typing on the computer. She eventually handed the gentleman lounging with his feet on the counter next to her a key envelope, and the woman still had not said anything to us. Once I realized she was letting us check-in, I told her about a promotional gift card we had and wanted to apply to our account. She first told me we couldn't use it, she then told me she didn't know what it was. She then told me that to provide it at check-out. About this time, another man stood in line behind me. She looked up and asked if he was checking in. He said yes. She again rolled her eyes and barked that check-in was at 3:00 p.m. He indicated he had also pre-registered for the 2:00-4:00 p.m. slot. She again barked that check-in was at 3:00 and rolled her eyes and refused to look or speak to him anymore. Seeing her attitude, I chose to leave the gift card alone and come back when someone else was at the desk. Later that evening, I explained my prior encounter to another employee, and she responded that she was new and had only been working for two weeks. This woman knew exactly how to process my gift card, told me what to do, and I went on my way. The following day I received my bill, and, although after the level of service I received, I can't say I was surprised, no one had applied my gift card. I can forgive a lack of knowledge for the first woman given that she was new. I cannot forgive her lack of customer service. She didn't smile, she wasn't friendly, and she was at times downright rude. The second woman did not apologize for her lack of customer service, and she just provided an excuse that she was new. Upon arrival, we were told that a hot breakfast would only be served on certain days, and the two days we were there were, of course, they were offering a grab-and-go breakfast. In my opinion, COVID-19 precautions are all or nothing. Why would it be safe to provide hot breakfast to guests five days a week and not the other two? I view this as a way for them to save money. From a Premier level hotel, I expect better; this was simply a way to cut corners.
We picked this hotel because of its proximity to the KC Royals baseball stadium. It took over an hour waiting in a long line to just get our keys for the room. I had already done pre-checkin on my app, but I still had to wait in line to show ID and get my room key. Then the room they put us in was dirty, had a nasty ring in the toilet. It smelled terrible. The bed had been slept in. There was someone's old food takeout trash in the trash can. Between the long check in line (with only 1 person to check people in), and then having to change rooms, we ended up missing first pitch at the baseball game we came to see. Overall it was not worth the money we paid.
The location of the hotel was perfect if you are attending a baseball or football game but the rooms are lacking in cleanliness. The breakfast would be great if the food items would be replenished. Once they are gone, dont expect more.
Tracey went above and beyond to accommodate us. We needed an earlier check in time and it was no issue at all! Our room and keys even were ready when we arrived plus she gave us a room facing Arrowhead Stadium!
The location was great for the venue but that's about it. Grab and go breakfast not good. Didn't feel safe with drunk people loitering outside the front entrance at night. Need more help at front desk. Had to wait for 20 min to get checked in. Paid way too much for what we got!
My husband and I chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the Royals stadium. The outside of the hotel is not well maintained, with cigarette butts and some trash in the parking lot. The whole area looked pretty shady, which I realize is not the hotel's fault. But they could do a better job making the place look clean. The rooms were okay, but certainly nothing to write home about. I would not stay here again if I were in the area.
The breakfast was just sugar-filled pastry garbage. The fruit looked old and the yogurts were barely cold. The plumbing was extremely loud and lengthy. Staff was rude (mainly overnight) and the stay was not worth it. The TV service also didn't work and they blamed it on the rain, which was very mild and as a Midwesterner, I know they have to have better service than that! I also had trouble connecting my laptop to the WiFi. Overall, I feel cheated out of a real breakfast, and that this hotel was in no way “premier”.
Interior of lobby is nice. Decent pool size. Gym is small. Rooms are old. Balcony is old. A lot of room interior is old. They need to renovate the rooms. Felt uncomfortable the whole night and couldn't fall asleep. No plug in bath tub so I could only take a shower. Checkout was easy and Covid19 breakfast to go was simple.
This hotel is directly across the street from Kauffman and Arrowhead Stadiums. You can easily walk there. The building itself is old looking but the lobby is updated and the rooms are as well. It's an easy choice to stay here if you are attending a game in KC!
Stayed here for a trip to the Royals! Facilities were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room rate was excellent and included a grab and go breakfast! The parking is a little limited but overall a pleasant stay and the King bed was very comfortable!
I took a picture of how the tv and coffee maker was plugged into a power strip. The power strip was just hanging in between the sketchy wall outlet. Sent the picture to my daughter who is ba firefighter and she was very concerned. Also the breakfast choices were awful. I understand Covid restrictions but there are much better choices for the price of the room it should have been better. Also our room was not cleaned but asked the front desk for towels and a hand towel was all that was available (really!) We were told that towels would be brought up and that never happened.
First of all, I paid for a stadium view room. When checking in, we were given a room that was already occupied so we opened the door to someone else's room. Then went back down to the front desk and they gave us a new room that was not stadium view, and blamed the fact that we walked into another guests room while they were in there on them being just so busy. So we were told we would be given a new stadium view room for our next night. When we got back to the hotel the next afternoon, that was not what happened and we were still in the same room but our key cards had been disabled. The bathtub didn't drain. The toilet ran basically 24/7. The fitness center had black mold on the ceiling. If I had been able to cancel my reservation for a refund I would have done it as soon as I walked into another guests room. I wish there was a rating that was less than "terrible" because that's what this hotel was.
The only bright spot in my stay were the 2 wonderful ladies at the front desk. They did everything they could to resolve the various issues I ran into. My first room was very musty and had a serious maintenance issue. They were able to move me to a comparable room, which I appreciated. However, the second room had terrible internet service and the TV kept losing its signal. The front desk gave me a separate phone number to call for WiFi and TV support. The support people told me that they can only support WiFi, not TV. So, the issue was not fixed and we had no TV. Overall, it was a really disappointing stay.
If you are looking for a hotel who offers breakfast or coffee, then this is not the hotel for you. All websites, including BW, indicate that a breakfast was included. They only offered the cheap, generic, in room coffee packets for a 6oz cup. Not what you expect to wake up to after a 10 hour drive.
This hotel is a drug house, plane and simple. The hallways smelled from people smoking marijuana, people coming and going at all hours of the night slamming doors and making noise. Being begged of people in the parking lot to let them in because the front desk wouldn't let them in when they “forgot their key”. I got called into work at 11pm and was directed to use some unsafe sketchy lower level back exit that I found propped open upon my return. The windows to the room look like they haven't been cleaned in 2 year, one of the bathroom light bulbs was missing, and the door to the balcony had a half installed screw holding it shut. How this hotel ever received Premier status is beyond me?
The Best Western Premier Sports complex staff went above and beyond to make my event a success. The General Manager was such a gracious host and together. with Sales Manager Rhonda Hogue worked their hearts out making sure the meeting rooms and Ball room were perfect. Lorraine, Ivan and the entire front desk team made my guest feel welcomed and right at home. The Rooms, Hotel Lobby and the grounds were spotless& the upgrades " Fabulous! There is no doubt I will host many more events here.. Thanks Everyone for your HOSPITALITY. Vickie McGill
The front desk staff was not friendly and argumentative. She refused to assist when there was a problem with our check-in. She stood against the back wall instead of at the counter. She never acknowledged when we thanked her when we finally got the keys to the room. I would not recommend staying at the hotel. Choose another Best Western in the area.
Upon check in there was nobody at the front desk. Waited 5-10 minutes until the guy showed up to check us in. Upon check out, we asked for a receipt for both rooms we rented as we had 8 people total. The lady printed 1 and then a few minutes later said she ran out of ink and would need to email it to us. I believe she was too busy guarding the breakfast area and telling my mother she couldn't be over there (in the breakfast area) to change the ink and give us a receipt. My daughter tried to go to the breakfast area and the rude lady at the front desk wouldn't let her get anything until she told her what room # she was in. Then my father in law tried to get 3 juices. One for him, his wife and my other daughter and the rude front desk lady made him put 2 back. Why offer breakfast and then tell people they can't have it or can't be in that area? I told the rude lady at the front desk the line from the wall to the toilet was leaking and the only electrical outlet in the bathroom doesn't work. She wrote it down, said nothing not even an acknowledgement that she heard me. I travel a lot and have stayed at many Best Western's and have never came across such rudeness! Would not recommend just because of the service!
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff! The lady that checked me in was super friendly and personable! She even helped with picking somewhere to have food delivered!! The room was clean and neat. Needed a desk in the room for working on computer but overall a great stay!
The property looked very nice the lobby was clean and comfortable. All off the staff had exceptional customer service, everyone I encountered was friendly, and very helpful and accommodating.. The issues I had was the condition of the property. When we arrived our room had no refrigerator, I went to the website to make sure it was included before I went to the front desk. They lady at the desk apologized and had housekeeping bring up one very quickly, then we noticed the heating unit had huge gaps in it and had cold air pouring in from the outside.. when the heat was on, it was too hot, but when we turned down it got cold quick because it was like a window was open. We had to wrap towels, and pillows around the unit to keep the cold air out. But also had to keep the unit in the 50,s to get the heat to turn on.. it was sooo cold by the unit it would kick on in the 50,s.. Then after a long day we planned to spend the evening at the pool, but the pool area was Freezing... I went to ask if the heat could be turned on, but again the lady at the desks was very nice and apologized. She said the furnace was out and was scheduled for a repair, but the water should be warm .. The water, wasn't warm.. I chose not to get in, but my husband said getting out of the pool into a room that was 60 degrees was was brutal. Overall the staff made up for the condition of the property but, it put a damper on our weekend.
First I want to commend John at the front desk awesome customer service. The hotel was quiet and clean. My problem was my shower had no hot water. It was very late we had an early morning ahead so I didn't call down about the issue. Made do with the hot water in sink. Also the lobby had no coffee available for early morning travelers. Started trying to get coffee at 4:45AM was told kitchen staff just came in. 6AM still no coffee I've stayed in many hotels, the overnight front desk staff seems to always make sure there is coffee available, not here. So if you're big on your morning coffee be prepared to settle for the mediocre in room coffee.
Go Chiefs! The Superbowl experience with the Chiefs was more than advertised and definitely classy! The family feeling and warm, friendly people was not exaggerated! There may be some bad apples out there but I didn't see them!
Friendly staff who was able to answer my questions yet helped resolve a reservation over charge which was refunded no problem. The variety of foods for breakfast was exceptional since they would make the foods you wanted to eat. Nice to have freshly made foods.
Convenient location, and everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great, and the woman serving breakfast was very friendly and helpful. All of the hotel staff were wonderful and went out of their way to be helpful and answer my questions about the weather, area, etc. I would absolutely stay here again.
Great accommodations. The staff was friendly and helpful. If I came through the Kansas city area I would more than likely stay there again. Only issue was the cost of the room. The room price wasn't unreasonable but I thought the cost could go down a little bit.
Most of the staff were great. Accommodations are old. You can tell they recently polished the old turd. The restaurant is awful and takes forever to get your food. We ended up leaving after an hour. Best thing about this place is being across from the stadium. Don't leave anything valuable in vehicle. Several people were broken into.
After partying the way we do on New Year's Eve at the hotel and after the party, we played cards til the roosters rise. The beds are the most comfortable. Breakfast was A1! Check-in and check-out was a breeze.
Old hotel with a bad "new" paint job. Cheaply renovated hotel. Rooms were dusty and dirty. Lucky for me I always carry Clorox wipes. Hot showers were out of the question as I could only get "warm enough" water sometimes. The sink in the bathroom still had coffee someone poured in it. If they didn't clean that, what else was not cleaned? Front desk was not very friendly. Barb was nice at breakfast. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. I really have no idea what makes it a premier.
Don't waste your time or money here. Always an excuse here, cook slept late, no other rooms, no maintenance men. Breakfast buffet was not up and running, waited 20+ minutes for breakfast items to be refilled and it wasn't. Heat stuck on 80 in one room. Blend valve broke in shower of other room! Room had items left from previous guests.Still waiting on refund!
I brought a group of 10 of us for the Vikings vs KC game. The hotel is right across the parking lot from them stadium so it was an easy walk over. It was cheap enough to uber and lyft around to other areas for a reasonable price (although after games I guess it can get very expensive to get out of there). The hotel itself was clean and nice. Was a really nice buffet breakfast that was included. The best part of it was the staff though. Everyone was so friendly. Barb took care of us at breakfast and was an awesome resource for things to see and do. And Carrie and Lorraine in the bar were amazing. They had a full place every night and handled it (even running out of some beers and such) like pros. Very nice and helpful. I can't say enough good things about them. Checkin was quick and easy and the price was very reasonable I felt. We didn't get into the pool area, but I heard it was nice as well.
Nice hotel. Was able to check in early after a long trip. Checkin was a breeze and very quick!!Short walk to Arrowhead Stadium. Clean, comfortable beds and rooms. Breakfast was very good and included in room rate!
Hotel is right across the street from the stadium. Good place to stay if you want to party and the games and be able to walk back to your room. Staff is awesome....very personable. Shay and Deadria are awesome.
Horrible stay. We were one of only a few people staying here and now we know why. Problem checking in as the desk person didn't know how to process the gift card I was using. The ac unit in our room was leaking and the carpet was damp when we got into the room. The tv reception and picture were bad. The hot water was nonexistent therefore so was our morning showers. And beware of the carpet tack strips on the floor where the carpet and laminate meet...they hurt when you step there. The coffee in the morning tasted instant so breakfast was at the nearby McDonald's...at least that part of the stay was good
Please be careful not to get charged at the hotel when you already paid via a booking site. I paid for my hotel room via Expedia and was charged again by Best Western. When I notified the manager, he admitted fault and stated it would be refunded. Two months later, no refund. Expedia reimbursed me their charge. The hotel was being remodeled and had some inconveniences due to that but the staff (desk clerk, housekeeping, and restaurant/bar) especially Reggie, were great!
I had booked this hotel back in April, 2019 for attending the October Packers/Chiefs game when it was still under the Marriott management. In August, I had received an e-mail from Marriott saying that the management has changed to Best Western and that I should call the new hotel management to ensure that they still had and are honoring my reservation. I then called Best Western immediately to confirm and they had indicated that still had my original reservation and that they are honoring it. Today, I had called them for a question regarding my hotel room. They told me that they don't have my reservation. They also proceeded to tell me that I need to call Marriott and tell them to re-book me with another property. The person on the other line also did not sound professional and seemed to be blaming Marriott for what happened. I did call Marriott and they tried to help me also, but clearly, the responsibility was on Best Western. Because the dates that I want are in high demand, I wanted this issue to be resolved immediately, either by Best Western honoring the reservation or me being rebooked successfully at a different hotel at the same rate and room type. So I called Expedia which is the 3rd-party through which I booked. They were able to successfully book me in a different hotel and was very professional. Thank you Expedia! Regarding Best Western, I will NEVER book any hotel that is being managed by them. They just lost a potential customer and I encourage everyone to think twice before booking with them!
