The bathroom was very small. The area for breakfast was very small and could only accommodate twelve people and the food was not that great. We went elsewhere for breakfast. We had to put something at the bottom of the door to our room to keep the rain out of our room during a rainstorm. Also, we had to walk or drive in inclement weather to eat breakfast or get something from the office. This place may be great for singles and truckers but not families and couples. This place good is only for an overnight stay, not extended stays.
We pulled in at around 11:30 pm after a long day of travel and just wanted to rest. I found it strange that you couldn't even enter the lobby to check in you have to check in through a window. There were VERY sketchy people hanging around in the parking lot that kept going behind the building in front of the hotel and smoking something. So I guess if you arrive before the sun goes down you're fine. Floors in the room were FILTHY. Beds and breakfast were fine.
We booked this hotel because we have stayed here in the past. We booked this hotel because of the pool in the past and pool was great! We also called in advance to make sure it was still in working order and the person said it was. We get here and the pool is green with gunk in it. Brought it the the manager and he said he was out for the week and needed to shock it and we would not be able to use it for 4 to 6 hours. Checked in on the pool and the manager was sparaled out on the couch in a white T-shirt and didn't give a dam about the pool. He looked like a customer lounging. The receptionist said the pool hasn't been working. So the manager lied to us!! We did not stay there for the full time that we had booked. Very disappointed!
The room was quiet and I sleep good, but the mattress was a bit softer than I would have liked. But then, then I was never able to connect to the internet. There was a used towel hanging on the hook in the bathroom, and a piece of a wrapper and a penny on the floor, making me wonder how well the room had been cleaned. The clock in the room did not work. The ice machine did not work. There was mo kleenex in the room. The clock in the room did not work. The staff was friendly.
Pool was green. TV kept popping up windows. Booked for the Pool but alas, unusable. Staff was nice. Didn't check out Breakfast but my kid did and enjoyed the muffins but most likely due to his disappointment in NOT being able to go swimming which is the ONLY reason we booked this hotel.
This place doesn't even deserve a 1 star! It was so filthy I reported them to the Department of Health! Mold on the bathroom ceiling, mold out side under the A/C units, floors and tabletops were disgusting when I wiped them with a wet paper towel, everything in that room was filthy. I attempted to reach Best Western's CEO but the email came back "undeliverable"
The service was top notch. The bed was comfortable. The shower hot and they allowed my 15lbs fur baby to stay with me. We checked in late and they gave me a room upstairs so I could feel safe. I would stay again if I had to travel to Memphis again!!!
Shower faucet was completely broke off and sitting on bathroom counter, extremely dirty, TV was broke, very unfriendly staff I also never saw anything about breakfast that was supposed to be included but truthfully after how bad the room was I don't know that I would have even given it a shot
The worst experience I've had with a hotel in the last 12 months. Bring ur own wifi. Also be sure to have clothes on because the house keepers will walk in ur room and stare at you. I do not recommend this hotel at all. It's overpriced and unprofessional.
Room dirty, dirty rag left in bathroom. Sink was slow to drain and eventually stopped. Had to request more towels, only 2 in room. At breakfast coffee was undrinkable and hot water container for tea wouldn't work. Bagel was too stale to eat even after toasting it.
Filthy, terribly run down, and lots more! The owners don't invest anything back into the property. They are operating a fraudulent business. I paid them $500.00. A huge ripoff! Don't stay here. Maybe the worst place I have stayed in over 40 years of traveling Best Western should be embarrassed to have their name associated with this property!
Breakfast wasn't great, tv worked but no channels, sleeper sofa mattress was thin and u could feel the frame, not enough towels, King bed wasn't too comfortable, floor was dirty by getting in the shower and dirt pouring off, no type of refund
The staff was considerate and nice. The room was OK. The bed was soso. Take earplugs though. There is a major road 50 yards from the hotel. Loud traffic throughout the night. The picture looks great but the hotel is a semi renovated old hotel. The staff was very helpful.
This hotel is lacking. I'm surprised that Best Western would want their name on it. The sink had no stopper with a gapping hole at the bottom. The fan in the bathroom sounded like it was going to explode. The bed frame securing device stuck out of the bed causing a severe tripping hazard. The light at the desk was shorting out (I unplugged it for fear it may catch on fire). The desk chair was broken and the covering was peeling off. The ice machine was broke. We stayed multiple nights but did not received any room tidy up at all requiring us to go and ask for dry towels as the room was extremely humid and the ones from the previous day would not dry. The light at the desk had old food caked on it as well as the mirror over the sink. The staff was somewhat friendly. Room in bad need of repair and cleaning. Would not recommend.
Lots of maintenance issues, no housekeeping staff so you had to clean yournown room and get your own towels. And no one resolving it.
We had some issues with the cleanliness or our room. The floors were filthy and turned out feet/socks black. The floors were uneven throughout the room. It felt as though they put new flooring over top of dirt. Like if you put flooring in a tent while camping. Some areas dipped upwards of an inch. This made it so the doors did not open or close fully. The ice machine was out of order. The second AC unit in our room did not not work. Thankfully we had another that kept it a decent temp since it was 93 degrees and almost 100% humidity . Breakfast was not the best. I have had better but I have also had worse. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Me and my sister both slept great. The pillows were also comfortable and each bed had 4. The pool had the normal leaves and bugs since it was an outdoor pool. I used the skimmer to get them out and it took less than 3 minutes. The pool temp was very refreshing and we enjoyed it. If your looking for a place to rest and get out of the car for a while while driving through, this would be a decent place but I do not recommend using it as a vacation style hotel. If you do stay here, just get the cheap room. The value does not match paying a higher price point for what you get. On an upside, every employee we had contact with was very friendly and helpful.
We requested 1st floor when we booked, it was approved. We arrived, there were 3 cars in the lot, I assume 1 was the clerks. She told me they didn't get the request and had no 1st floor available. I should have cancelled right then (I'm handicap) had to walk 2 flight of outside stairs. Got in room, used bathroom, there's a dirty cloth on floor behind the door, a pile.of dirt as well. Under the desk there is debris as well as some on the rest of the floor.
Dirty floors and needed to wipe down furniture. The sink, toilet and bathtub were clean or we would have left. The bed frame on the bed stuck out so far on each side that my husband cut his leg on it. They definitely need better water pressure. I will not be staying at this hotel or brand again. I'm not sure why I booked the room in the first place with the ratings listed in Yelp. Big mistake on my part! To be fair front desk was pleasant and offered extra points for the bad experience.
Within a few minutes of walking in, I sat on the bed and saw a flea. While sleeping I felt one craw on my ankle under the sheet and was bitten twice on the back. The room was noisy as I was beside the service/laundry suite. The floors were so covered in ground in dirt it turned my feet black. There was no physical impediments, so it shows it was from a lack of proper mopping and floor cleaning over a period of time. I'm sure the lack of cleaning is also apparent in all the other rooms. It wasn't from just one dirty guest.
The guest service was horrible and the hotel is raggedy the pool is in poor condition it looks like a swamp
We stayed there 2 nights ago. The room was located on the back side of the motel. There is another business up the hill behind the motel. They have a refrigerator truck parked in their parking lot that turned on a very loud motor about every half hour all night long. Spoke with the management and the situation is out of their control. Seems to be an ongoing problem. The noise kept us up most of the night.
My wife and I stayed two nights at this wonderful hotel. We were recommended by the front desk of a Hampton Inn nearby that was full. We looked at the room before staying and it met our requirements of a very clean room on the 2nd floor. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. We felt very relaxed here, our first time to Jackson after driving from Maryland to bring my sister-in-law back home after two days of driving with three cats in the car. Just my wife and I in the room these two nights. The front desk: Karen, the front desk manager and Terri who also works front desk are very professional and friendly answering all our questions. They both made us feel like home. The next time we visit Jackson, we will stay at this lovely hotel again. P.S. We are very fond of Best Western Hotels!
The beds were comfy, the towels soft and fluffy. The room was clean and in good shape. Plenty of hot water, though the temp dropped during my shower-maybe too much demand. My partner did not experience this. My only concern was that the room felt damp-even after running the AC. That kept me at 3 stars instead of 4. Staff were all pleasant. It was busy when we arrived. We had not reserved in advance. Terri went out of her way to book us in a ground floor room. We had a glitch with the key though, it did not work and she had to rekey. Good breakfast choices, including fresh fruit and WW bagel and cream cheese!
I'm in Jackson for business with regularity. This has been my go to lodging choice for almost two years. The rooms are not fancy, but they are comfortable. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. The hot breakfast is better than I've found in many pricier hotels. I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking to stay economically, and still very much enjoy their stay.
My family and I stopped in while passing through the area. The motel is located right of of I-40. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a 2 room with a king bed and a sofa bed.
Great place! This was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, especially in a hotel. The staff was kind and helpful, breakfast and coffee were ready in the morning and it was a good stay.
Door to room has gap at bottom to let in cold air and who knows what else. Floor was filthy. We spilled some water and when we wiped it up with a hand towel it was gross. Breakfast was supposed to start at 6 am but the desk clerk was asleep on the couch in the lobby and the door was locked. She opened at 6:30. There was no hot breakfast as advertised-just cereal yogurt breads and a waffle maker. A disappointment from BW.
I was a bit concerned about this hotel, as we usually stay in Best Western Plus; however, check in was great. Easy access parking. Had a problem with the key, but it was taken care of. Room was spacious, well laid out, and clean. Bed was comfy, and room was quiet. Had a variety of offerings for breakfast, and everything was kept clean, and re-stocked. I would stay here again.
Heading home from our vacation in branson. Just needed somewhere clean and safe to stop for the night. The lady at the desk was very nice and informative. The room was clean and served the purpose for us.
Not good for anyone w/ a dog. Hotel is an island surrounded by tons of blacktop & other businesses (it's mere ft from another hotel). Only 'grass' is a sloping ~50 ft long skinny strip along a busy road & atop a 6ish ft retaining wall. Room had multiple problems. Smoke alarm started beeping to signal battery needed changing a couple hours after I had been asleep. Phone didn't work, which I learned when I tried to call the front desk to report smoke alarm problem, so had to get dressed to go find night clerk. TV was stuck on 12ish obscure channels. Night clerk said my account would be credited for disrupted sleep. Morning clerks, said, "no, we don't do that and besides the problem was resolved" (eye roll moment). Bed was generally comfortable & room clean. Breakfast was fine. The Jackson location was good w/ respect to how far I had traveled and how far I needed to go the next day, but the immediate vicinity of this 'pet friendly' hotel was not good for those with a dog.
Bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress was broken down and I felt like I was in a hole. There was a lumpy mattress topper that only made it worse. Air conditioner was so loud that you couldn't sleep. I finally got up and left at 4:15 am. I would have rested better in my car.
The power went out during the night, and the office staff (?) came outside and were talking very loud and waking people up who had been sleeping...we had to ask them twice to quiet down. The power being out was not the problem. The mattress was smaller than the bed frame, which caused three 4-5 incl iron bars to stick out, creating a dangerous situation for people getting in or out of bed or walking near the bed. The day clerk was very nice. The breakfast was ok. Probably would find somewhere else to stay next time.
We stayed at this hotel for one night and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and the accommodations were very good. We slept comfortably and had the complimentary breakfast the next morning. The hotel is in a great location. We went to Casey Jones Village to eat and it's real close. Several other restaurants are in the area. We would definitely stay again.
Was a last-minute place to sleep. Outside appearance was a little lacking/outdated. Bed was comfortable, clean room, good breakfast, good shower. The staff was very friendly. Nothing fancy but worked for one night of sleep needed.
We had to go buy our own swifter and mop the floors after the first night because the rooms were so dirty! There was a hole in the wall in our room and the tv only had 8 channels even though there was a guide for 65 channels.
our sleeping during stays at surestay hotel by best western was horrible. AC was making really loud. i felt like flys were flying around me. could not sleep. dirty walls, carpets,. i really had nightmare at this surestay.
A good value for a small hotel except room needed a deep clean. Staff are very friendly and werewilling to go beyond just checking in people. Overall, the only problem was the couch in the room needed a deep cleaning (smell) and the shower floor grout needed a good steam clean.
After reading the reviews, I bit the bullet and tried this hotel. From the outside, it looks a little sketchy, but the interior was fabulous. Keurig in the room with K cups, updated interiors. Luxury vinyl plank flooring. Breakfast had sausage and eggs and many other choices. The only issue I had was the floor in the room looked clean, but was not. I ended up having to wash my feet before I got in bed. I told the front desk and they apologized. Front desk was very pleasant on check in and check out.
Clean and friendly. Lobby and breakfast area floor being tiled but staff did the best the could, served hot breakfast sandwiches, muffin, coffee. Not anything fancy- comfortable bed and clean. Close to I40 and hiway heading south. Small but all we needed for a good nights sleep.
Great hotel, service not so. No morning coffee, breakfast cold. Room was super though. Everything about the hotel screamed awesome BUT the service was not so. The clerk was accommodating but her personality needed some work.
You will not find a better hotel for the price in Jackson TN. Staff was excellent. Room was comfortable clean and appealing. Every place we went to was within 3 miles of the hotel from restaurants to shopping
Our room was on the 2nd floor. It was a large room, hard surface floor, clean, and everything worked. We appeciated the sink being separate from the toilet & shower. The floor "gives" some, so it's kind of loud. I'm glad we were on the top floor, so we didn't have floor noise above us.
This is advertised as pet friendly but take note there is no grassy areas around the hotel. It is all parking lot. The nearest grass is out by access road and postage stamp size. Take your umbrella is raining. $20 pet fee . Also rooms are old and dated with cracks around door and bottom. Do not take shoes off as floors are filthy. Surprisingly the bed was comfortable and clean. I
Been here three nights called woodwork have to keep going to the front desk so they can give me a cart so I can get in my room did not change my sheets only gave me towels and washcloths very rude Supervisor
we were there for a reunion of my husbands military band group. The hotel was very clean and very one at the front desk was very helpful. There was no resteruant in the hotel, but there were several eating establishment close by.
Room was old, stuffy and smelly. Computer desktop in lobby was not working and attendant let me try to use it for 20 minutes before I asked, and she said it had been broken for a while all the time just being silent while I wasted 20 minutes trying to get it to work
Rooms were very unclean, roach on bed and sticky nasty floors. Poor lighting and odor in room. Check in attendant, Angela was very nice, check out attendant, very unfriendly. The only good thing is the location right off the interstate.
came to check in at 6pm the door was locked and said window check in only, it was hot as heck. and for no reason, she/the front desk clerk was at the "business center, computer, that supposedly is open til 10pm"!smoking and didn't answer my phone call, from my cell, while I was outside. whoever owns this establishment needs to obviously be more involved
Can't show all the pictures but this is the outcome of my stay, we got bit up by major BEDBUGS!!! A whole $318 stay wasted on uncomfortable dirty, unsanitary, smelling filth and the front desk just said call the company and file a complaint. This place needs to be SHUTDOWN EXPEDITIOUSLY!!!! I WOULD RATE THIS A NEGATIVE 100 JUST TERRIBLE AND UNACCEPTABLE NO SHORESTAY EVER AGAIN IN JACKSONVILLE TENNESSEE
Overall my experience was decent. For the price we paid it was ok. The atmosphere was friendly and warm and the staff was great. I just wish there was access to the pool 24/7 here and that the ice machine wasn't broken.
The room floor was filthy. AC unit very loud. The room smelled. One inch gap under the door to allow bugs and vermin in. Tables in the breakfast area were dirty. Lots of suspicious activity and people on the property. Worst hotel stay ever.
We had a great experience beds were very comfortable and room was clean got whatever we asked for the house keeping staff was nice breakfast area was clean and the pool was clean staff was great also!
Welcoming, responsive staff night and morning. Fast efficient check-in. Nice pool. Easy, fast access of I-40. Clean, quiet, comfortable room. Great breakfast. Best coffee EVER to start the day. Will stay here again on cross-county trip with dogs.
Our GPS didn't take us to right location, not sure where the error came from. Convenient location once you find how to enter the parking lot. Clean and comfortable enough for one night while traveling.
Easy on/off access from I-40. Allows pets ($20/pp fee), tho no good walking places on property but some Small areas close by. Clerks at both check in and check out were very friendly and pleasant. Was a little concerned at the notice posted saying they would charge $50 to your card that would be returned if there was no damage to your room; and the check in form had a place to sign that you agreed to vacate when your stay was over. But there were no problems of any kind with any other patrons while we were there. The room had been updated with new vanity, paint, TV, Flooring and door locks (which were really difficult to unlock)! Lots of hot water, good wifi and TV. Very clean room with comfortable beds and the best pillows we've had in a long time. Good breakfast with mini omelets, sausage and biscuits, limited cereal, yogurt, waffles, etc. Price was very reasonable. Would stay here again. .
As a regular BW patron we decided to give this place a try on 2 occasions. Nice customer service, breakfast area in lobby was small but met our needs. As for the room I have to say it needs help. Very outdated, dirty carpet and the bathroom door was difficult to close due to being old and damaged. After walking around the hotel and speaking with the front desk I can see that they are making changes and updating the hotel. Probably would be best if they shut down for a short period so they can safely make the needed upgrades. Do have to say there are some good dining options nearby. Look forward to seeing what the hotel will look like after the renovation.
It's run down, but okay. Cleaning staff didn't clean under the sofa in our suite and we found food, empty water bottle and a mask. They also left the light bulbs out of two of the bedroom lamps. The place needs a little tlc. Also the front desk staff is helpful, but you'll find them in the lobby on their cell phones and watching tv.
This is the worst hotel should be closed down for ever it does not represent best western good customer service nor quality i am still having nightmares from this experience it is dirty, the staff is unprofessional nothing worked in the room but the tv,mold i tub, mold in sink and windows just a dirty mess
This is the worst motel I have ever stayed in. Filthy bathroom, stained carpet, cockroaches iin bathroom, heating/ac did not function, did not clean room. When questioned, clerk said we had to ask that it be cleaned. Were not told this when we checked in. Nothing good about this hotel. Will never stay here again. Should not be affiliated with Best Western.
This hotel is under remodeling construction. The second floor has only one working stairwell. Would be unsafe in the case of a fire. The hotel is in okay shape. Room was clean. Nothing fancy. Decent restaurants in the area.
1. Check in was ok just not very friendly 2. The swimming pool was closed which I get but is not emptied and not being cared for so the water was a weird green and located close to rooms. 3. The carpet was full of stains 4. The toilet paper holder was broken 5. The tub was stained and had mildew where tub met the wall
Had a great stay and would recommend this Hotel to anyone. We stayed 2 nights without any problems and can say it was a comfortable stay. If you need anything, they are happy to get it for you. Also the breakfast is awesome, you dont have to leave to go some elsewhere.
I had 2 rooms booked for 13 - 15 July. The condition of one room was deplorable. The other was not as bad, but still not good. Amenities listed (pool and free breakfast) were not provided. Maintenance staff was unresponsive to repair requests. Attached photos show the most concerning issues: - mold in bathtub - smoke detector covered with plastic - tub faucet broken and inoperative In addition: - the air-conditioning unit leaked causing a large area of carpet to be completely soaked. It was obvious that this issue had existed for a long time because the subfloor beneath the carpet was very unstable, like the subfloor had become rotten. - The room was infested with ants and tiny spiders. The front desk said they were aware of the insect issue and an exterminator had been contacted. - The television and phone in the living room area were not working
Carpet was disgusting & I was afraid to walk barefoot. Outer bedspread looked grubby & had cigarette burn holes. The room chair looked sketchy so I sat in the desk chair. Bathroom looked like it had deferred maintenance. Towels & sheets were clean.
This hotel was filthy. Mold in the bathroom and holes in the towels and sheets. not sure how ANY staff could miss that when getting the room ready. Overall cleanliness was terrible. Didn't have much choice of venues and i usually do better with Best Western, but Best Western is 50/50. Some are great and this place was awful!!!!
The room was dirty had bugs this has been the worst experience ever in my lifetime plus the phones are not working had to change rooms due to bugs and the new room was just as bad no phone carpet dirty horrible and they claim to be part of Best Western they give them a bad reputation I will never stay at this kind of hotel again. I would never recommend this company for hotel stay to anyone VERY BAD plus lobby closed and my husband and I are frequent travelers so please do not stay at this hotel. Plus the pool was very dirty and it was closed I was very disappointed because pictures looked different than the actual room. Had to go to Walmart to buy some Raid for the ants and bugs. VERY BROKEN DOWN AND NOT CLEAN
Worst lodging experience ever. Check in was trough a glass enclosure, not allowed in lobby, broken dead bolt, no cord on phone, burn hole in bed spread, dirty parking lot and landscaping, broken cabinets, margininal housekeeping, no services for two night stay, no maintenance or security staff.
I will never stay here again. The room stunk. The carpet was so dirty it stuck to your feet. there were rats running around the property. The TV remote and TV were difficult to figure out and when i called the front desk he tried to tell me to play with the antenna on the back of the TV. When that didn't work i called back to ask for help and he hung up on me.
Reserved non-smoking king suite for 2 nights for 2 adults & 2 children. Broken furniture, dirty, no bedding provided for sleeper sofa, 1/2 roll of toilet paper. Got bedding from office, but no pillows
My wife and I chose this hotel because of the price and reviews but when we got into our room we were really disappointed. We don't have high expectations for hotels but we do expect them to be clean. Our non-smoking room smelled like smoke (which is fairly normal at a hotel since it's nearly impossible to keep the smell of smoke isolated). But what caught our attention immediately is that though the beds were made, one of them was all ruffled as though it had been laid in. The carpet had debris everywhere as though it had not been vacuumed and the bathroom floors had hair and dirt everywhere. After seeing all of that we were really nervous to sleep in the beds thinking they may have been just made up and not actually had the sheets washed. But we were exhausted by the time we got there and went ahead and stayed. We will be back to Jackson weekly over the next few weeks but we definitely plan to stay elsewhere.
The room was absolutely filthy. We had to request a whole new set of bedding due to cigarette burn holes, questionable stains, and hair in a non-smoking room that smelled strongly like cigarettes. I had to carry the gross bedding to the front desk myself and carry "clean" bedding back to the room. There were stains on the walls. There was drywall debris and gross crumbs all pushed into a corner. The outlet didn't have a cover. There was a safety pin opened and sticking straight up by the bathroom. The shower had MASSIVE cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. It really felt like all they do between guests is make(not change) the bed and take out the trash. It was absolutely the worst hotel room I have ever been in and does not deserve the Best Western name. The area also does not feel very safe and they even close off their own lobby and use a security window for guests checking in at night.
When I booked the rooms, I booked it as an advance purchase. When I got to the motel to check in, she informed me it was not advance purchase. I asked for adjoining rooms. I was informed the motel itself did not have adjoining rooms. Much to my surprise when I got to our room, one was adjoining, just not to the other room we had booked. There were ants and other flying bugs in the room, mold and hair in the bath tub, and the mattresses were so old and broken down that there were springs sticking out. It was not worth the $81 per room we paid. We could have gotten much higher quality rooms for that cost. There was nothing on the website saying the pool was closed which is the biggest reason we booked this motel. I would much like a refund for this entire stay because the conditions were deplorable. I still don't even know at this point if I was double charged. This entire stay was a nightmare. The rooms smelled awful.
Room was not clean (wet wash rags still in tub), things broken and when. Politely tell the front staff why you don't want to stay a second night she apologies but says there is nothing she can do about it.
Nasty not clean place at all pictures below went to front desk said they would send hk that never happened! Hair everywhere and not even a sweep or mop! I don't advise the stay here! The pool was limited time as well
The room was dirty, reeked of smoke, no clean linen, everything broken, esthetics were poor pictures were photoshopped, no refund or discount was issued the staff waS so rude the owners did not care or value our business at all
I've stayed at this hotel numerous times and it's always a great stay, the staff and owners are always wonderful and are always as helpful and understanding as they can be. You just about can't beat it for the price!
My wife and I stayed here three years ago and it was fine. The room we had was good enough, especially for the price. The customer service was a highlight back then and that makes up for a lot of smaller issues with the property. We made our reservation for late January and wanted to call and request a first floor room and to check on the breakfast policy. The phone was answered by a hard to understand man with a very thick accent. He seemed put out to even answer the phone and had the personality skills of Boo Radley. He told me he couldn't find our reservation and that we fill out a sheet to get the extremely limited breakfast items in a paper sack. From other reviews, it seems that is not too uncommon. However, having to turn in your sheet from the outside window by 10 pm is a little different and having to check in from the outside window in what will almost assuredly be cold weather does not sound appealing. However, the price is hard to beat. With any degree of customer service, a few maintenance issues and the awful breakfast restrictions could be overlooked. The horribly disinterested and rude customer service was a deal breaker. The man ended our call without a "goodbye" and just hung up. I would not be writing this review if I had done anything to provoke him, but it sounded almost like he just woke up and was irritated about taking the call. That was a deal breaker for me. I cancelled our reservation and booked at the new Best Western about 4 miles down the road. I am not sure if this man is the owner or a manager, but needs to improve his tone, energy and effort in routine customer service calls.
We pulled in because we read the reviews and they were not bad. We were told the only room left was a suite so we took it. As soon as we opened the door, we felt like we were going to fall through the floor. There are weak spots all over the floor and the carpet is stained really bad. This place is filthy! I am actually afraid to sleep in a bed. I would definitely not recommend this place. We would have been better off sleeping in the truck. Very dirty
To check in to this property you must wait in line outside until the "phone booth" freezing room is free of guests. YOU must wear a mask of course; however staff does not. You are given a breakfast chit sheet to take to your room, fill out, and return by standing in line outside all over again to return before 10:00 pm. I had trouble connecting to the internet so I picked up the phone to call the front desk and discovered that it was missing the cord. I, again had to go back to the front desk with the phone and was told that they were waiting on phone cords and didn't know what happened to all of their cords and there was nothing she could do about it. I called corporate from my cell phone and was told the only resolution was to relocate to another room because bringing me a phone cord from another room was impossible due to maintenance being off site. I'd been driving for 12 hours, had several bags, a dog, and a dog crate that had already unpacked; therefore relocating was not an option for me. He then had the nerve to ask me if there was anything else he could help me with. I always carry disinfectant wipes with me and wipe down all surfaces before utilizing. The towelettes turned black when I wiped off the nightstand and dresser. The tub had a massive amount of dust/dirt and hair on the rim and my socks were filthy from walking the floor. When I picked up my "to go" breakfast the next morning, the gal fixing my coffee had no mask and no gloves as she affixed the lid on the coffee cup, putting her hands all over the top of the lid. The bagel and muffin I ordered were not pre-packaged, rather someone placed it on a plate and wrapped it with plastic wrap. After seeing how my coffee was handled, there was absolutely no way I was eating anything that was assembled by staff. And speaking of staff, the onsite staff was indignant, carefree, and arrogant depending on the issue. There were other issues with guests that I did not report as I just needed to get sleep even if it was with one eye open. As I told corporate when I called to report the issues I was having with this location and he left me hanging, I WILL NEVER STAY AT A BEST WESTERN OR AFFILIATE EVER AGAIN!!!! I will sleep in my car if I cannot find a pet friendly hotel before I sacrifice my health and safety at another one of these shanty-town, flea bag hotel rooms.
This hotel is filthy. The carpets need to be cleaned, although vacuuming would help; the tubs need scrubbing with comet. The entire place just needs someone who knows how to clean! Best Western you should be ashamed!
The room (110) was complete filth. We wiped down everything in the room, desk, bathroom counter, cabinet where the TV is, nightstand, etc. On our disinfectant wipe was black soot with a lot of black hair on it. The bedspread had a big black stain on it along with other stains, top left hand side. We have stayed here 4-5 times traveling back from Florida, but we will go another way. Hotel has been going down hill and this was the last straw. It's been let go to become a dump, would not recommend to anyone.
Just like a Best Western, just less expensive. It was right off the highway, easy on and off. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We would stay at one of these hotels again. Seemed like a good part of town with several walking distance restaurants to choose from. Only thing that could have been better is to have an area to walk the dogs.
We have stayed at this motel several times for many years when visiting family in Jackson, Tn. Always great service from the staff and the complimentary breakfast is always very good and a welcomed amenity.
To save your reading time this place is a dump. I understand my review needs to be longer. Room dirty, heating unit cycled from 68F to 79F all night. You can see through cracks in door when locked. Outside noise people yelling loud enough for manager to hear but did nothing. Did I mention this place is a dump. Best Western should be ashamed to be associated with this place.
The people here are great, the General Manger and front desk Girls at great, rooms are great beds. Air works great shower is good. Breakfast is great. It is safe for a out door entrance only down fall when you sleep during day but not to bad.
Located amidst several other hotels and a busy interstate this a nice basic hotel. While the driveway is a bit hard to find the room was very quiet even though it is very close to a busy interstate and a local major highway.
Took a long time to check in, was charged a higher amount than my reservation email receipt, the staff member didn't know what he was doing, then he registered me as a reward member without my consent. I originally was supposed to get a military discount. Was charged 2 seperate fees on my debit card fir one room. The Room was filthy. Ventilation poor, room stunk, refrigerator not cold enough, not enough linens in room. Hooker Hotel
Not many, but enough to give me the willies. Im just a chicken I know, but I'd get a tent if I have to deal with them. I really hate giving a bad review. They had cable and flat screen, but drama in the lot. Just some young loud folks but relationship drama. In an emergency you can do it, but take your girl elsewhere.
Hotel staff was great. Breakfast was acceptable and area clean. Hotel rooms are old but clean. They were working on A/C in hall of our floor. Room A/C was good. Beds slept great. We were passing through and this place was fine for bed, breakfast and dashing.
A hotel is only as good as the front desk representative, and Teresita was SUPERB! The hotel is/was under an extensive renovation. BW Sure Stay honored our reservation and the room and bedding were updated. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure very good, and the refrigerator had a freezer compartment, which is huge, for those of us traveling with small coolers and ice packs. On the downside (which, hopefully, is being corrected): when plugging in charging devices into the outlet on the desk, the outlet is only live when the light is on. So, devices will not charge overnight! There was a broken socket cover on the wall by the door (hopefully this is being corrected). The television was not programmed when we got to the room, and the internet was not working. HOWEVER..... Teresita was truly "grace under fire"! She calmly addressed both issues. And got both TV and internet up and running in good time. Did I mention how warmly she greeted us when we arrived?? Her gentle demeanor made what could have been a very frustrating situation, seem inconsequential. She is an asset to the organization! She is truly an asset to the hotel, and to the Best Western brand. Thank you, Teresita!
The room was small and amenities basic. But it was very clean. No lingering odors nor musty. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in most hotels are rarely very good. This was as average as all the others. For what we wanted, value, comfort and cleanliness, we were very happy.
Attention Needed! Needs an independent professional person inspect the property and grounds to identify the needs that need repaired or replaced.there are many small items that could be easily fixed with very little effort or money.
Arrived unbooked, were greeted with friendly accommodating staff who went out of their way to ensure not only a good price , nice room but also offered for our motorcycle to park under the veranda which not only gives us peace of mind for security but also kept the bike dry during overnight rain. Good knowledge of the area and we ate at a restaurant of their recommendation which was just right. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Didnt use the pool bug the area around it looked well maintained. Breakfast was satisfying for our needs -we ard coffee and toast people. Thanks to Lauren and Jorm for your great hospitality.
Nice workers, easy access pool but room was filthy. Our feet were black after walking around for only a few minutes. Breakfast was “average.” While “pet friendly” there is no place for pet potty or anything.
Appears to be an older facility but had comfortable clean beds and nice clean linens, however room was in need of maintainace. Desk clerk was helpful but could only do so much on her own. Air conditioner dripped a lot of water onto the carpet, soaking some of our personal items. Sink would not hold water and toilet seat was so loose. I had to get my screwdriver and tighten it myself. No maid service between first and second night so had to ask desk clerk to exchange towels and restock glasses and paper products.
Beds were comfortable. T.v in the bedroom didn't work. Rooms need updating but suite was spacious. A little overpriced for the quality of the room. Had to go the front deck to get ice and towels for the pool because ice machine was broken and towels were not stocked at the pool
We loved the beds and pillows. Our room was clean and quiet - backside of the building. Parking was right in front of our room. The outside could use a little love - I did notice some places that could use some paint. The breakfast was good.
Our room was not clean with poo on the bathroom wall and what looked to be coffee or other dark liquid in the tub. The room smelled and the mattresses on the bed seem to need replaced. The landscaping around the property should have been an indication of the room condition, but we missed it coming in so late.
The staff was very nice and our room was very clean. Our only complaint is the pool had to be closed during our stay due to issue with pump and it smelled awful. Other than that everything was excellent.
I stayed there 2 weeks ago for a wedding, I had 2 rooms and the rooms were clean and the beds were really comfortable! The breakfast wasn't that great, not much in hot food except waffles and a folded egg something. It tasted alright, just wasn't much. Only other thing was that my in room refrigerator, froze some stuff but other than that, it was very good. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.
tthe outside was so rundown and dirty I didnt stay, preferred to lose the price of the room rather than stay there. Area felt sketchy and I didnt feel comfortable staying there on my own.The clerk on the phone was barely coherent when I called to get directions. He finally managed to make it clear.
My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I have stayed at another hotel in Jackson that was double the price but was not as friendly or as clean. The staff is very friendly. The FREE breakfast was great.
Room needed repairs, dangerous bathtub and mildew carpet. dining room floor cracked tile tripping hazard. Breakfast was not fresh and cold. Other guests hanging out side drinking and smoking. Poor parking
We had a nice, clean room and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was hot and fresh and also a good variety of items to choose from. Check in and checkout was easy to do. The room was comfortable and clean.
The biggest drawback was the dated appearance and the brackish green pool. The rooms were nice, but a bit small. Breakfast was very good but seating is limited to probably 12 maximum which for the size of the hotel seems very small. The staff we encountered was very friendly and accommodating
This hotel was very reasonably priced, yet clean. It is pet friendly with an additional $20 fee and one of the few places that also still has smoking rooms. I was most impressed by the fact that the room was very clean and it didn't smell like pets or cigarettes like most places do that allow pets and smoking. It is very conveniently located to Jackson attractions and dining. We didn't take advantage of the free breakfast because we were tired, but the internet worked very well and there was plenty of parking. My only negative comments would be that the room felt very cramped because of the amount and size of the furniture in it. They also have no area to walk your dog without going out to the road in front of other businesses. I knew both of these things in advance thanks to reviews of other travelers, so they obviously weren't deal breakers for me since I was only staying one night. I may have opted for a different hotel if I had been staying longer.
Nice property with good breakfast. Good location. Great staff. Would stay again. Pool out of order should be disclosed at checkin. Ice machine out of order. Staff did their best to accommodate with limited bags you could get a cup full.
Room was clean but somewhat worn out. The airconditioner was noisy but I used ear plugs and slept fine. Breakfast was good with a nice variety. Access was fine just off I40. Several restaurants in walking distance.
The room was nice. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good. Only complaint is that the pool was not open yet, and a trucker parked his rig about 30 feet from our door and ran it all night.
Extremely comfortable beds and friendly staff. I would only suggest that the housekeeping staff pay more attention to the shower curtains. Our had mold growing on it. I advised front desk and they noted it.
Arrived late after driving many hours after work. Quick ,friendly check-in. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable. Nice breakfast buffet with both hot and cold options. For the price, the room was a great value.
Room had animals in it prior to our stay with guest that have allergies. They towels had pubic hairs in them for us to use with taking a shower that we have never gotten due to it. They offered nothing at all to help other than extra points and money back for the stay that I have NEVER have received as of yet.
My mom and I stayed here on the night of 04/01/19, after a very long day of driving. Went in and attempted to turn on first lamp on the desk; did not come on. Drapes/shades would not close completely; we had to clothespin them shut and could still there was a slight crack, but it sort of worked. Alarm clock unplugged, and I just happened to find the cord laying on the floor behind the nightstand, so plugged it back in. Last guest or someone had set alarm for 4:30 a.m., so that woke us the next a.m. Discovered that the desk lamp was unplugged also, so that's why it wasn't working. Mom is 75 with mobility issues due to health, and I also have mobility issues, so there was no way to plug it in for us, and I was afraid to, in case it was unplugged due to being dangerous. Room was clean. Decor was dated. Bathroom was small. Ice had to be procured in the lobby before we went to our room, so the young man kindly gave us some contained in the thin plastic liner that is normally used in the ice bucket, and it was not closed, and had no way to close it. We did manage to get it back to our room without spilling any, somehow. The young man was very nice. The room was, thankfully, not too expense due to our rewards programs. When I told the young lady on duty the next morning of the issues, she apologized, and said they might've been deep cleaning the room and that was why things were unplugged. I did let her know I unplugged the other lamp for access to plugs for my CPaP machine and phone. She did give me extra points on my rewards program, and told me she entered me into a promotion that if we stayed another night at a Best Western before 04/14, we would get a free night, and since we would be traveling back home to TX before then, I was very pleased. This turned out to be not quite true; she neglected to tell me the free night was after we stayed another paid night at a Best Western, and this only counted as 1, so we found that out on the way home. Breakfast was quite substandard. Although the staff was friendly and the room clean, I would not stay at this hotel again, due to the issues and being misled on the free night, whether on purpose or not. If the staff had not been friendly or the room dirty, this would've been a 1 star rating.
Front desk clerk was super friendly. Front desk printer ran out of paper to print and I happened to have some in the car so I gave her a stack your tide them over. She offered to give me some extra points on my account in return for the paper!! Haven't seen them on my account yet but I guess it is the thought that counts! Great stay overall. Location is very close to main road with many restaurants available. Room was comfortable and clean.
Located just off highway, easy to miss behind some other buildings, quick left at lights. Check in attendant was real nice. Room was clean but a little tired. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good, they cooked cheese omelets along with regular breakfast items. Only 90 minutes to Nashville. Good value.
Had a Wonderful experience. The night shift lady went above and beyond greeting us and our dog. Very sweet to get us some bottled water and snacks. Everything was easy to access with the ability of staying on the first level. Parking isn't as available as I wish it could have been but very doable.
The hotel is located in a really convenient area. There's a lot of restaurants and bars nearby. Checkin was easy and the staff member even accommodated our request for lower floor, thankfully because I theres no elevator. One odd thing I want to mention is that the ice machine is in the office so you have to request it. Hotel is dated but clean and both the mattresses and pillows were similar to those you'd find at a 4* hotel. We were really impressed and slept soundly. The bathtub was a little rough it had two patches over what I'd assume was chips or holes. Breakfast was free and okay with the exception of the white gravy, it was yummy. The eggs absolutely needed that flavor. Overall a good stay for the cost
Natasha front desk is the best. Great breakfast and clean presentation. Older lady there is like ya grandmother is cooking the food loving environment for kids as well. Several TVs thru out for you viewing pleasure. GREAT PLACE IN A GREAT CITY!
Best place we've ever stayed anywhere! Beds are so comfy and service is fantastic! Conveniently located near Redbones (so yummy!) and shopping is close by. Only place we will ever stay in Jackson, TN!
The hotel is close to I-40, but it takes some twists and turns to find it off road, The lobby is very nice with a coffee bar, seating area, television and a large screen desktop computer free for use. We never met front desk clerk Lauren who was very helpful by phone in taking notes that we preferred a downstairs room and answered my questions about the area. The evening desk clerk (somehow forgot her name) was also very helpful and suggested restaurants to us in the area. She was glad to help us and made us feel very welcome. The room itself was clean, well lit and comfortable. The oversized TV is always my favorite feature at a hotel and the guide on the cable system was also helpful. The bathroom is like a lot of budget hotels where the shower and toilet are in a postage stamp like room and the vanity is on the outside of the bathroom.....not our preference because it limits privacy and disturbs other people in the room when one person is getting ready to go. There was a terrible design flaw by the bathroom.....toilet flushed even from other rooms sent a wakening run of water through the pipes with a loud shutoff. My wife and I woke up several times to that in the night. Our room also had flooring that had either bubbled or come loose underneath the carpet right outside the bathroom that caused it to give about a half inch when stepped on and caused it to creak. A handyman should be able to fix it with a nail gun. Therefore, even though the traffic noise was not noticeable, too much noise inside the room. We wish the room air conditioner...the usual lower window type unit...had a continuous fan to move the air in the room. The beds were very comfortable and w had a coffee maker in the room. Our biggest gripe was with the shower. Below average water pressure and the water just did not get hot. Warm....not miserable...but ti was cold outside and a hot, steamy shower would have been great. The second shower, according to my wife, was just luke warm.....the hotel shower is the biggest criteria for how she rates a room. The bathroom was very clean and the outside vanity had a nice, marble type top. Of course, it is difficult to be too hard on a budget hotel since the very affordable price is a real plus. We wish the lobby did not close down to a window service only lobby late at night and only opening back up at 6 am. Breakfast was served at 6 am through 9:30 am and had scrambled eggs, sausage links & biscuits with sausage gravy.
Went to open up a drawer to look for jelly and this is what i found.. There was big white lady at the desk. I saw her wipe off a table with what appeared to be a bath towel.. She changed trash not wash hands..
The location is in a very bad location - didn't feel safe. Many aspects of the stay were bad (toilet didn't work without manual intervention) the bedding was super scratchy, the towels were flimsy, the room was dated, the noise was loud and smell of the room was old
Clean room, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast - but Internet did not work. If the internet had worked, I would have given the property a higher rating. I read a review after my stay. Apparently, the Internet has been an ongoing issue.
We stayed for one night visiting family in Jackson. The location is fine for that, just off the freeway and across the road from a McDonalds and the Casey Jones museum and restaurant. There seemed to be plenty of local shopping for essentials. The bed was fine, no noticeable noise from the roads. Decor is a bit outdated, but it's clean and decent. We were on the second floor, there's no elevator and the walkway got pretty wet and a bit slippery. Breakfast was OK for the price - coffee, choice of teas, waffles, fruit, cereal, toast. Service friendly from what little interaction we had. Didn't get to try the pool but it looked fine, if a little public! The immediate area looks a bit "work in progress". Lots of building and roadworks.
This hotel has really raised their price. Just last year could get a decent room for $70-80. It is now over $100 and no upgrades. I stayed at the hotel on 10/16/18 and after check-in discovered they did not have internet service. We I inquired I was told they haven't had internet for a while and not sure when they will. If I would have been informed prior to check-in I would have found another hotel
We arrived around 8 p.m. to warm cookies from the Office Manager. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. It took a bit to locate this hotel. It is on a service road. We were originally skeptical because of the location and reviews that we read, but were very pleased with the accommodations.
We stopped here on our way to Mississippi. We were tired but I have to say that your wonderful hostess, Jeanette, was so accommodating. She recommended a great restaurant to us, went into detail to explain the Rewards program and just overall, a very nice person. The next morning, Lauren, was in the breakfast area and I also think she was very accommodating. Nice place, close to nice restaurants.
First! Kudos to these folks who had the AC on in our room when we arrived a very hot steamy Tennessee afternoon. And then there was the lemonade available in the lobby. Two big plusses that made us feel welcome ..... and cool again! Very nice room, nicely appointed. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Parking lot is a little tight, but we found a space. These nice folks even called us when we left behind a small toiletry bag. A very nice stay. We would stay again!
