Stayed at this hotel for one night during a recent weekend break. Very warmly welcomed by Jimmy in reception - whose passion for customer service definitely shone through.Room was clean, bed very comfortable and shower pressure was excellent!Didn't have the breakfast - but there's a McDonalds adjacent if you fancy something simple
This hotel is very conveniently located and the best part is they have a shuttle bus which runs through out the day to the Airport Central Station. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel but customer service is very poor. Our requests were never attended straightaway, we repeatedly had to remind them. For example, we had problem with the safe deposit box and the problem was never solved till the day we left. We did not get to use it at all.
We liked the dark tiled shower are, and there was no problem at all with consistent hot water. Front desk staff at check in were a little stiff, but, well... Also were not asked at check in about bed type. Maybe they were full, but should be standard practice to address that at check in. Consider a car (Uber, etc.) into Hoofddorp for dinner.
They have the comfort and amenities I expect from Best Western. This was our first trip to Amsterdam. Most of our trip outings centered in Amsterdam Central. To get there the best option was to take the train from the airport. This Best Western had a bus to and from the airport every 30 minutes. Friendly staff with very little waiting. Comfortable rooms and a quiet location. They had an on site restaurant and a McDonalds a few hundred feet away.
The building and check in point were nice looking and clean as was the room, but it was hot in the room when I arrived and getting the temperature controlled was no easy task. Really disappointing was the fact that the remote had no batteries in it and the TV didn't work properly either. This was supposed to be one of the BEST high end Best Western Inn's, and it wasn't. Bus transport was OK.
well served from the airport with buses running nearly all day up to midnight to and from the airport arrivals level. Staff not particularly nice, very young, helpful enough but not very forthcoming unless you really push for information. Breakfast at a cost of nearly 15 euros per head is pricey and ok in quality - you would need some form of quality at that price but i do appreciate that amsterdam is very pricey so good for what you get. good bar prices, nice reception area, not such a good gym, nice inside pool but very hot and steamy. there are lots of airport hotels and i would choose another one next time, the rooms are ok but we had to request the basics like more toilet paper and towels and it was relatively clean. Again not my first choice next time, but it serves a purpose and as i said in the title you get no more that you see.
We stayed here for 1 night.very dark in the lobby,so we went straight to our room.the room is basic but clean.there is a complementary bus to go back to the airport the next morning so its so convenient.
A lot of confusion about where the Hotell was. There are two hotels with almost the same name. The personnel of the second best western hotel was not very help full. We were several people that made the same mistake and had to order a taxi to get back to the other hotell. The room was not properly clean and a bit dusty.
The hotel was fairly priced, accessible easily from the airport, clean and comfortable. One of the two hotel bus drivers was rude and obnoxious, which put a bit of a downer on things but overall a really good hotel.
Conveniently located neat the airport, this hotel had a smooth check-in, nice room and good water pressure in the shower. The service of free airport transfer was very good and the wifi was very fast. I really appreciated the tea/coffee making facility in the room. Some critics from my side are that the rails for hanging the towels in the bathroom is located pretty high up, so it will not be easy to reach for shorter people. Also, there was a spider crawling out of the bed as I was about to go to sleep. Scary! Other than that, I like this hotel.
Great hotel near the airport for easy access to the connecting flights as well as to the train station for easy trips into the city center. The surrounding area offers very little in terms of tourist attractions, but you can take the free shuttle back to the airport to access Amsterdams wonderful light rail system or to take a train to other European cities.
I was only transiting at the airport so only needed a place to stay. It has a convenient shuttle bus every half hour between the hotel and airport and an evening bar and an all day restaurant, a small gym and free wifi. So pretty much all you need for a transit. One big beware point is that there is a different BW Plus that also has a shuttle from the same stop and they are on different sides of the airport to each other so make sure you get on the right bus (unlike me). The correct bus for this one is the orange bus that shares the Bastian Hotel route. The driver the receptionists and the restaurant staff were all nice and friendly and helpful. The room is pretty good for this standard of hotel, neat clean and user friendly. Bathroom is toilet, sink, vanity and shower with simple amenities of only soap and shampoo and nothing else, although they have a note that other items are available on request. The rooms are well soundproofed from the aircraft noise. The breakfast is a simple European buffet with eggs a la minute. Next to the hotel is the Hotel Bastian, across the road is NH Hotel and down the road is Hyatt Place, there also seems to be a casino next door and a McDonalds, so enough if you want to walk around but it is an airport commercial area. I would recommend this hotel as a stopover hotel for sure, if using it as a base for an Amsterdam visit I would stay closer to the city. I am rating 5 stars saying it is a luxury hotel, but it is one of the better budget hotels hence a top rating for its class. Just a quick note on the other hotel BW Plus Amedia that I incorrectly went to, it is in a more remote commercial area of the airport and has no restaurant or bar, just a simple 6-10 item quick order snack menu and felt more budget than the one I stayed at. However the staff there were also great, very friendly and helped well coordinating me to get back to the airport to get in the right bus.
Three of us stayed here for a night as our connecting flight to Oslo was the next day. We had booked the suite which is two separate rooms with a common bathroom. It was very convenient. The hotel is a 15 minute bus ride away from the hotel and the hotel operates a shuttle bus every half hour each way. Breakfast was substantial and good. The rooms are large and clean. The service was acceptable though not very friendly. There's nothing nearby in terms of dining options except for McDonalds. The trip to the centre of the town costs about 30 euros one way by Uber. Overall a good stay for a night. Wouldn't suggest this for a longer stay as it's too far from the happening places.
Just visited Amsterdam for a long weekend staying at this hotel. The free shuttle to the airport is great as it's then so easy and cheap just to get the train into the centre. The hotel is quite basic but perfectly ok to stay at. They share a swimming pool and small gym with the hotel next door although we didn't use them. We really used this as a base and didn't spend much time here other than to sleep so it was ok for us. If you are looking for a plush posh hotel I would look somewhere else but if you are happy with it being clean and a place to rest then go for it!
The Hotels Website and the customer service are horrible. They state online that you are able to cancel your booking on the same day/get a refund and then suddenly tell you it's not refundable. I'd be careful to book here, you won't get your money's worth even if you stay there.
4 star hotel. A transfer from airport is very useful, room are clean with comfy beds, you get a use of safe, water, kettle and tea/coffee. The swimming pool and fitness room were a bonus as it was a very hot during our stay. Staff were friendly and spoken good English. Strongly recommended++++
Promised laundry, none was available unless you needed dress trousers pressed. i had to uber all over Amsterdam til i found a laundromat. The staff offered little in the way of tourism advice such as restaurants. I would advise anyone to find another place to stay.
I stay at Best Western hotels quite a bit, both in Europe and the US. This is a good place. The rooms are average size for Europe but the bathroom is larger than I expected. The hotel has free parking, regular shuttle service to the airport, and a good restaurant and bar. There is a McDonalds next door - I went there for breakfast. The internet works well and is free.
This hotel is conveniently located 10 minutes from Schiphol Airport. They provide free shuttle service to and from the hotel. It runs every 30 minutes from early in the morning to at least midnight. The rooms are average. The front desk staff is very nice and knowledgeable. They were able to answer my questions. If you're hungry, there's a McDonald's located next to the hotel towards the of the parking lot. With my flight leaving early in the morning, this place is perfect for me due to its proximity from the airport.
Excellent facility! Apart from pickup and drop, you can even use the bus service for a quick trip to city from airport by train availing their free service. Decent place to stay if you have a flight to catch.
It's a decent hotel for the price they charge. The wear and tear is noticeable but the rooms are spacious and the beds are great. The bathroom was huge compared to some other hotels in this pricerange. The staff does it's best, but the atmosphere felt a bit hectic. All in all, you get what you pay for.
A very convenient hotel for a stay before departure from Schiphol. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The buffet breakfast could have a somewhat wider selection. The hotel can definitely use some TLC but for the price it is very acceptable.
This hotel was the perfect spot for an overnight stay before flying out the next day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The shuttle was convenient and punctual. Room were clean with unique decor. We loved it!
My family and I stayed in Best Western Bastion at Schipol airport for a single night. The hotel was clean, the staff efficient and the facilities very good. The pool and gym were well maintained and clean. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern.
The room was not very clean, the corridors and hallways uninviting, and the staff was unhelpful. I would not suggest this hotel even as one for a night before flying out of Amsterdam as we had. I hope it helps anyone out there (including the hotel itself).
I work every week in Amsterdam (4 nights a week) travelling over from the UK and I stay in many different hotels across Amsterdam due to availability and choice and having stayed in this hotel before and its parent hotel next door Bastion Hotels the price I paid for 1 night's stay was bordering criminal. Previously I have paid on average €115 and sometimes less for 1 night's stay, however due to demand last week they had the audacity to charge €304 for 1 night.... that is nearly a 200% difference, if the hotel was of a high standard I would be OK with paying an inflated price but to pay €300+ for nothing more than a 3* travel lodge at best was wrong and I felt I had no choice as I had to pay when I booked the hotel online. The check-in was awful, and I had the displeasure of meeting the check-in clerk who obviously does not enjoy her job, she was rude and abrupt and had no interest what so ever in ensuring I had a good experience/stay. I must state for those that read this I am not an awkward customer, I believe profoundly in treating people the same way I would want to be treated and I know through years of travelling around the world what good and bad service looks and feels like. Bastion Hotel Group please put Yasmin on a hospitality course as soon as possible to ensure she does not do anymore damage to your customer service reputation. As for the facilities, OK room was clean, bed OK although it was two single beds and are OK at best. The floor is hardwood so feels cold in sense of feeling, so as stated before a very average hotel, I will do my upmost in the future not to book the BW again.
It was really a relief to book BW successfully with a reasonable price while others were either fully booked or extremely expensive. (Sheraton was around 450euros) Close to the airport, only 10 minutes drive. Free shuttle from/to the airport run from early morning to mid night. (Find the pic below) Follow the hotel shuttle bus sign and the platform is A9. Make sure to hop on the orange bus with Bastion Hotel/Best Western Plus Amsterdam Airport sign. (BW is independently owned and operated, and it's a Bastion here.) Room was big enough for single use but I wasn't happy to sleep in a twin room as I've booked a double one. No explainaton or apology received at the reception. They might need to do something about sound proof as the airplane noises could be heard even with the windows shut. (No such problem in citizenM and it was closer to the airport) The first night the house keeping staff forgot to put face towel in room but the following one was ok. I'm aware the Dutch are tall but the towel rack is too high for petite girls like me (160cm) to reach. (Can't help taking pics because it was fun, haha!) Remember to bring your own toiletries, you wouldn't like theirs! The kettle was filthy but it didn't bother me as they provided two bottles of water/night. The breakfast was free and hot. Brewed coffee was available. The croissant was stale on the first morning but was fresh on the following. The receptionist of the breakfast room needs to register the room guest for breakfast and do the eggs and pancakes in the meanwhile so there's chance they might burn them. Don't complain! Free to store bags after checkout. The receptionist were happy to help.
Facilities provided could have been better in terms of room arrangement. Room were prettly dull in terms of interiors and also not pleasant. After entering room weird smell was coming out. For the money I am spending could have better.
Beds way too soft, plus why do they only offer twin rooms when going away with partner I want to be able to share the same bed, also the bedroom was full of dust The airport shuttle services was very good, on the Friday night restaurant was closed so had to use sister hotel next door
I did not choose to stay in this hotel - I am entirely indebted to Jet Airways and KLM ground staff (KLM provides ground services support to Jet Airways) for this experience. We had a harrowing day at Schiphol airport from 8.30am to 9.45pm due to cancellation of our Jet Airways flight. And finally they asked us to stay overnight at this Best Western. We caught their courtesy coach and reached the hotel. The staff at the reception hate customers and they are proud to display it. They are among the most inhospitable people I have come across. They are rude. They bark at you rather than talk with you. They are supremely impatient. Perhaps the last time they smiled was in their childhood. The hotel has an instant effect of depressing you. The room is depressing. The room is not even provided with toiletries - we had to go down to the reception and request for it (thanks to the fact that Jet Airways had our baggage). As soon as we checked in, the lady (!!) at the reception barked at us to go to the restaurant immediately for a buffet as the restaurant would close in 15 minutes. We went there and the buffet had - Tepid tomato soup, white rice, an indescribable dish that had 10 small chicken pieces with no curry/sauce of any kind and another container that had a few scraps of very dry pasta sticking to the bottom. None of it appeared fit for human consumption. They had some kiwi fruit that needed at least 2 more weeks to ripen. So we asked for some bread & butter and the lady at the restaurant told us that they were out of bread!! So, we went back to our room. The only saving grace was that this lady at the restaurant was sweet. We had a decent breakfast the following morning. Again I found that the two ladies at the restaurant were very nice & warm. The Check-out staff again displayed their hatred of customers. We checked out and escaped to Schiphol airport!!! I can't believe that customers voluntarily choose to stay at this hotel. I think their business model is based on airlines throwing their hapless passengers into this depressing den.
Nice hotel, not really a four star in my opinion but I'm no hotel inspector. But it is a very nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Close to the airport, saw that someone wrote that it was noisy, not in my opinion. Breakfast should have been just a bit more and something to surprise you with. The free shuttle service is a really good option and that is what makes it stay at three points. A four is earned when the breakfast/Resturang is better and a minor makeover ;)
all great, room is clean, all in room facility is good. the shuttle very helping for us when need pick up and drop to airport. overall didnt have much time to enjoy all the hotel facility. suite for traveler.
Location is good close to the airport, very good if you have early fly in the morning ,free shuttle , and 25 minutes walk to the train station of hoofddrop ,staff and room are ok. Mc Donads next door with lovely ice cream. i will go back.
From the outside looks great but once you in it gets semi bad First thing the room is quaint. We couldn't use the safe because it was locked and made a request about it nothing. The beds are like a memory foam mattress but no support the restaurant closes early as well as the bar. And the secured lock in the room doesn't work and last the WiFi sucks and I mean if you offer the service then give it but you can be connected but still can't do anything. So if your just looking to crash here I gotta say please pay the extra money to get what you pay for
Stayed for 1 night before our flight out of Schipol after 9 days vacation. Mainly booked for the shuttle service but pleasantly surprised with everything. The room was quite comfortable and AC felt great! Restaurant was good for a relaxing meal. Nice staff! Shuttle service was right on time.
Airport shuttle, that's all the amenities... Bathroom accessories are located higher than 6 ft ... I'm 5,2... I could not reach the towels, makeup mirror , I was able to use the hair dryer because it has a long cord... No complementary coffee or tea in lobby .No complimentary breakfast like other Best Western hotels. I had to write emails to/ from front desk, since phone never worked, even though I informed them since arrival. Bastion hotel brand outside building, in toiletries and information booklet, Best Western hotel brand in the airport shuttle and small sign at the entrance. Plastic tulips in the lobby's flower pots and restaurant tables... What a beautiful and natural welcome detail to beautiful Netherlands!
Needed a fast one night stay before an early flight. Clean bed and friendly staff. Free parking and internet. The hotel was messy and the hallways where not cleaned properly. My white bedsheet had a filthy black hair on top. Stay and sleep was good for the purpose.
swiming pool nery good and bar staff and all staff all on time shatle bus from hotel to airport from aieport also and very kindly bus driver everything super oerfect i stay again next time offcours thank you soo much all staff
The best western ams airport is conveniently located. Close to schiphol . Shuttle bus each 30'. Parking is free. Sofar so good. Because the rest of the story is below average. Public toilets straight out dirty. Breakfast poor and you have to pay even a blunt 14 euros for it. Mind you this breakfast included a piece of glass in the peanut butter. In my mouth . Can happen. I handed it over to the restaurant manager . Didn't hear anything since. And polite paid even for the breakfast .. The rooms look old and were clearly dirty. Beds very old , soft and should not be in a 4(?) star hotel! All in all one of the very few hotels I recommend to avoid.
The furniture is dusty (which set off my allergies), the toilet has urine crusts, spiders on the curtains, safe box doesn't work, hair dryer doesn't work, bed is uncomfortable, no bed sheets (comforter only), stains on the floor, safe box doesn't work , some outlets don't work and the mini fridge isn't cold enough. But at least they provide free shuttles to/from airport.
We booked this hotel because of it's close location to the airport. We used the free shuttle service, which was wonderful. The rooms are adequate, plenty of space to open two large suitcases. The bed and pillows were fine. The walk in shower was the best! (so much better than the Sheraton!) plenty of water pressure! I missed the bath mat, but used a towel instead, and got more towels from the pool area. We had a room in the back. It was very quiet. The workout room was clean, and the pool was wonderful! The dinner in the restaurant was very good. The schnitzel was so big! The steak was tender too, and I loved the smoked salmon. Breakfast was very good. Eggs made to perfection by a lovely lady. Fresh orange juice and fruit. Spelt bread, croissants and more. The staff was very friendly too. We enjoyed our stay, and will come back!
My holiday in Amsterdam was very nice, this is my third journey to Holland. Unfortunately the after returning for the 2nd time to the same hotel we are unsatisfied. Requested a switch of dates and they refuse to accept our request. Furthermore, the breakfast was not served as it should the chef to prepare the eggs not there both mornings. Very unhappy will not return..Will write a poor review on other websites for travel unless clarify by hotel.
I usually like Best Western a lot, but this hotel was not up to their usual standards. We (2 adults, 1 child) stayed for 2 nights. Our problems started at check-in. The receptionist berated me for only booking a room for 2 people when we had our child with us...until I pulled out the confirmation email stating I had, in fact, booked a room for 3. Despite that, there were no family rooms available, so we all had to share 1 bed. I do not think the reservation problems were limited to us, either. When I passed by the reception later, I heard them telling a customer something bizarre like, "You reserved the room, but you did not book the room, therefore we're full and have no room for you." That alone is reason enough not to book here. When you pick an airport hotel, the least you expect is to have the room available when you show up! Other complaints: When the maids cleaned our room, they took all the towels (even the one I hung up to save water on linen-washing), and didn't leave any fresh ones. The room safe isn't big enough for a laptop, and the front desk didn't have a bigger one. There is no clock in the room--seems odd for an airport hotel to skimp on this. The bathroom had 2 sinks but very little counter space. The only meal options are their restaurant (expensive 14 euro breakfast buffet, no child rate) or McDonald's. (Google maps suggested there was a cafe nearby, but this was not the case!) On the bright side: Room was warm and cozy. Shuttle to the airport departs regularly every half hour.
I thought this hotel was good, comfortable and quiet night sleep! Staff very friendly and helpful! Clean room. Swimming pool and small gym looked good ! The free shuttle was so handy for us and the jars of sweets at the desk was a nice touch! The hallways too the bedrooms need a paint but the tulip wall paper down stairs is lovely . Thanks for a nice stay.
Stayed here for 3 nights every morning been woken up by banging from the hotel being refurbished. I wouldn't of minded a small bit of banging but when you feel as if the roof is coming though! Couldn't get any sleep. Didn't get informed of this before our arrival. Shabby old building. Rooms ok. Never staying here again!! So annoyed
Building feels like a deserted apartmen building from the 60´s but the rooms are unexpectedly nice. Staff not very accomodating and long lines for check in. Room not cleaned overnight. Breakfast ok but not sure if anyone was actually taking any orders for egg or pancakes????????
The hotel was the perfect choice for our trip. So many reasons why…. The hotel was well maintained, the rooms were very clean, big towels in the bathroom (no wash cloths, Europeans don't use them), good wifi, free airport shuttle, free parking, restaurant on the premises, all the staff was very friendly. There was a hot water kettle in the room with coffee and tea. It was instant expresso but pretty good for instant. The location and the shuttle was a definite plus. The airport has a train station right in the lower level, so we used the shuttle when we wanted to go in to Amsterdam by train (15 minute train ride). Do not try to drive in Amsterdam, we did to pick up tripkey cards and it was nerve racking. Bikes everywhere, narrow streets. I do not think we ever had to wait more than 15 minutes either to or from the airport. It was nice having the free parking since we had a car for the places we could not get to by public transportation. I had read reviews about being so close to the airport and the airplane noise. We were at the end of the hall and I would think that room would have heard the noise the most, to be honest we barely noticed the air traffic and we live in a very quiet rural area. I had also read some not good reviews about the restaurant. Glad we tried it. We ate there several nights. The food was very good, portion size was good and I think it was fairly priced for a hotel and in line with the Amsterdam restaurants that would be the same quality. Our wait staff was also very friendly and remembered us after our first visit in the dining room. We did not have a chance to eat breakfast in the restaurant. There is a McDonald's next door so we grabbed something there when we were off with the car or had breakfast at our destination when we went by train, but it sure smelled good every time we left in the morning. We did not get a chance to use the pool or exercise room so can't comment on them. Bottom line for us we would select this hotel again for all the above reasons if/when we return. That small country and its people are incredible. One of our best vacations ever and we are sure the hotel and all its plus's were a factor.
We arrived late to the hotel. We asked for extra blankets when we checked in. The girl at the front desk was so rude, She said no, you cannot have extra anything. When we got to our room, we couldn't figure out how o turn on the lights. No where did it state, to put your room key into the slot to make the lights work. No where on the phone were instructions on how to call the front desk. I took the stairs down to the front desk and got locked in the stair well. You needed your room key to exit but mine would not work. I guess your room key only works on your own floor. This is a total fire hazard. Very unsafe. Later, I found a hotel book in our room and it said extra blankets are available upon request. Not sure why this girl was so rude to us. We were cold and wanted to be warm when we went to bed. People like this should not work the front desk.
We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights on a holiday to Amsterdam and the surrounding area. The hotel is in a very convenient location, has a free car park and shuttle to the Airport, very good for getting to the city centre very quickly. What is not so good about the Hotel is its general cleanliness, for a 4-star hotel is lacking in my view. The front steps of the hotel seems to have days old cigarette buts, in front of the lifts to the room there seems to be a very big deposit of towels and it was not a one off ! The breakfast selection is also very poor, I have seen better in a 2 star B&B. The main reception seems to be very busy always but that may be because people are checking in/out all the time. The room are ok and generally tidy. For a hotel that claims 4 star rating it does not live up to it.
This place has several sections. Because my wife is handycapped, we were on the first floor. The room was a bit dog-eared. What got me was the front area where the guest computor and printer were, it was not accessable until 6:00 AM and when I finally got to use it, even the staff couldn't log on. I was later informed that the printer didn't work anyway - no boarding passes. Regards, OldeBear
Good shuttle service to the airport. Brakefast buffet very good. Walk in shower was a plus for me. Got in very early and had to wait till room was clean but the lobby was comfortable. Restruant dinner menus was simple but very good and reasonable. We did get a McDonalds fix as it is at the end of the hotel. I would stay here again.
A simple straight forward hotel, perfect for a work stay. Room was ok, not the most comfortable bed, but good enough. Breakfast was not as great as most Best Westerns, but it was good enough. I arrived late, so it was handy to see a 24hr McDonalds next door.
Average hotel. Close to airport and shuttle bus is advantage if you just want to sleep over between flights. Breakfast is not included and, for 14 euro it is not much to eat. While signing off, my bill was overcharged for 80+ euro, some wine, beer and couple of beefsteaks I never ordered for the dinner. Of course, by mistake :) So, just read your invoice through ;) Brgds
I've read recent reviews and I am baffled with the complaints. Where do these people go to rate the hotel the worst they've ever been to? I regularly need a hotel near Schiphol airport and had not tried this one. The price of the hotel was one of the lowest in the vicinity of the airport and therefore I gave it a shot. The lobby and hallways were cramped and didn't promise much. But then I arrived in my room and I was dazzled. See the pictures, I hope I did it justice. What cool deco. The bathroom was an oasis , with a spacious walk in shower. Additionally the hotel offers a free shuttle from and to the airport. It goes every half hour and does not need to be booked. I especially liked the size of the bus, it's just like a city bus with plenty of room for luggage and passengers. I did not try the restaurant. The only slight negative I would say is that I felt the noise from the airplanes could be heard more so then what I've experienced elsewhere . But then , the hotel is next to the airport so hello! I would highly recommend this hotel for someone who needs to stay close to the airport.
This is undoubtedly the worst hotel I've ever stayed. Bathrooms were stinky and the beds were made so badly. For the price, it's completely not worth it!!! Definitely not recommended for the families!!.
No window to open , fans were not working . Asked the receptionist for help as told her we are suffocating she shrugged her shoulders saying she cant do anything. Didnt help us. Staff does not say thank you or excuse me or sorry. Rude receptionist on the main. Highly disapointed
We made a reservation back in January for a room with three single beds. When we checked in there was no room available with three beds. We were told only with two beds and no adjoining rooms. The reception did accommodate us with two separate rooms but that was an inconvenience for us. I also learned from one of the employees that there are rooms with four beds which would have been a better option for us. Rooms were clean but both rooms had minor issues. One room the air conditioner was malfunctioning and the room was stuffy. It also smelled like cigarette smoke which we reported and they did come to spray the room. The lights function with your room card. If we needed to turn on the bathroom lights all the lights would turn on. Very inconvenient in the night time. The Dutch are known to be tall but not all people are tall. The towel rack was up so high I could not reach the towels. Luckily a taller family member could. There were three large towels but no washcloths. Room did have a small fridge and a water kettle to make tea and coffee. The staff members we were in contact with were all friendly.
It is very clean and offers good rooms with nice shower. The airport shuttle is very convenient way to get to/from places thru the trains available from the airport. Great value for money and i do strongly recomend as an alternative to staying in central amsterdam which is just 20mins by train and costs 9 euros round trip same day.
The complimentary airport shuttle was always on time. The rooms are spacious and we're enjoying hot water shower. The food quality in attached restaurant was very nice. First time during 3 week Europe tour, we could enjoy delicious chicken wings.
lovely hotel with free shuttle to and from Schipol Airport. Great room with a wonderful bathroom. Good value for the money. Breakfast was a LITTLE bit overpriced but it was a great variety and offered omlettes made to order.
A new night, a new experience. I am a kind of steady hotel guest. Not only for this hotel but all over the world. My experience with this hotel is a bets price / super service experience. The night I was spending last week was a realy exciting one again! After the free parking, free wifi and a very gentle checkin, i went to my room where I could relax for some time and have a shower. All very tidy and clean. After that I went to the bar to get a drink and Patricia (very lovely rest.manager at this site) and even Roxanne (rest.manager from other location) welcomed me. Although there were stranded guest coming (hotel fully booked) they made a decision that all stranded guest could eat from buffet in this site, others like me could go to Bastion next door to have a a la carte meal. Well I had to .. so I ate at Bastion where Roxanne was giving a perfect social performance. (Go on like this, very amusing and lovely). And had my bears at the BW site. Patricia was there and had a rough time because of the overwhelmed croud. But still she managed to laugh and take car off all (mass) customers. Super Patricia! Unfortuanatly one of my favorite managers in this hotel was going to anther job elsewhere... But Dewi. I wish you the best. I really enjoyed my stay again. And I will see you again in the future.
Rude! Unhelpful! She refused to rent our family of five (three children, 2 adults) a hotel room at 1:15 AM. We had just arrived in Amsterdam and had the room reservation held but not confirmed because we were on an unsecured mobile network. She stated that if we had arrive 10 minutes earlier she could've helped us. Since she had already done the audit for the night there was no way she could rent a room until the next day at 2 PM. The temperatures outside were below zero and the advice we got from the staff was to sleep in the car!!!!!! This place has the absolute worst customer service of any best Western we have ever walked in!! I intend on filing a corporate complaint.
I had a short overnight stay at Best Western after a midnight flight. I accidently did a wrong booking on a hotdeal the day before. I did my booking one day earlier. Best Western understood my mistake and was willing to still use my payment for the actual date I had to book. I just had to pay the difference. I am very happy with their understanding and needless to say I will book there again.
Lots of car parking around the hotel with some undercover parking. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are large and comfortable with a great shower. I had dinner in the hotel and the food is excellent. Lots of choice. Breakfast is basic but all you need to start the day. Also with the added bonus of an omelette station. Would Defoe stay here again and recommend.
This hotel provides an excellent shuttle service from and to the airport, which is great if you have an early flight. Unfortunately, our room was not on the same qualitative level, quite dirty and so dusty that we tried hard to sleep for coughing.
Perfect budget hotel close to the airport. Large older building, but nicely fixed up inside. Check in was easy and fast. I had issues with the online reservation, and since I needed one more night they were very helpful to book it, with the online rate. Reception area has free fruits and sweets. The hallways looked a little worn, but our room seemed recently updated. It's quite small, but for a short stay it is fine. The airport is next door and daytime planes leave every other minute and they are noisy, but by the afternoon it is pretty quiet. The bathroom has tiled shower with fresh large towels. Very few toiletries but can buy some at reception if needed. Strong free Wi-Fi in our room. The tv has English speaking channels. Airport shuttle is every 30 minutes and free. There is a Dollar car rent across the hotel. It has a small gym and an inside pool that smelled strong chlorine. Breakfast was not included in the price, but for $14 or so all you can eat breakfast is served every morning. After 5PM it opens for dinner. The selection was nice, and the quality of the dishes were exceptionally good.
The hotel is very conveniently located near the schipol airport. The shuttle service really helpful in reaching the place and also going back to the airport. The staff was really friendly. I reached very early and without any question they allowed me to do an early checkin. Has a nice warm swimming pool and a gym. The restaurant is just average. There is a McDonalds right opposite. Overall, definitely recommended.
Due to a second night's delay at Schipohl, after queuing for 8 hours for a re-booking, I booked this hotel on-line and arrived at nine in the evening. There was a friendly reception and I took advantage of a couple of draught beers in the bar/dining room. I didn't eat a meal, although it looked quite good. Peanuts with the beer. After my tiring day, I just wanted to crash in bed. However the room had no heating and was freezing. After catching up with emails and other messages with the free Wifi (with my coat and hat on) I snuggled into the bed. This was a "junior suite" - just a big room really. The guy on reception had booked me a discounted taxi for 0500 - half the price of the one I had had from the airport. It arrived punctually. There are lots of hotels in this location on the outskirts of Amsterdam. There are local buses but most people use taxis. The name of the hotel includes "Airport", but wasn't that close to Schipohl.
This is a good option if you are looking for a cheap hotel to overnight while in transit. It is pretty basic and there is a free shuttle bus every half hour to the airport. The rooms are basic with cable tv and internet. There is a restaurant which is not very good and expensive. Next to the hotel there is a McDonalds. You can hear the planes landing at the airport though.
It was perfect with easy connection through shuttle bus from airport. It was clean all services and information are provided. Ideal for quit stay far from city center and fun. I was with my friend there for 2 nights and we did not complain about anything. the only missy is that the pool and bar and most of hotel service close at 23.00 which is a little early for us
The airport shuttle to the hotel was easy, convenient and efficient. Front desk check in staff was friendly and helpful. Wifi is lousy! I don't know if we caught it on a bad day? But it's very frustrating to pay nearly $200 for a hotel room and have an internet connection that is painfully slow and cuts in and out. The hotel itself is just OK but because of the terrible wifi, I'll probably look elsewhere next time.
No late check-in. Staff member at check-in argumentative. Best Western did not respond to my emails. Bus shuttle service every 30 minutes. The shuttle pickup is directly outside the arrivals doors and the stop is A9.
Location is great - near the Amsterdam airport, with a shuttle to/from the airport every 30 minutes. Room was decent, with included coffee/tea. Just had a minor problem with an e-giftcard that needed to be applied to my bill. BW call centre said the front desk needed to apply it, front desk refused.
the room was comfortabe but basic with an excellent price. We stayed over night. Location was convenient to Airport, highway and train. there are local services, with restourants and convenience stores within 15 minute drive without traffic.
The room was extremely comfortable. However I booked this hotel because of the free shuttle but the shuttle started to run a bit to close to our flight time at 6am which was 40 min before boarding. So we ended up taking the cab at 5:30 for 21€ and arrived at the gate 15 min before boarding. So I'd recommend if your flight leaves before 7 you take the cab unless you're ready to gamble.
Hotel is close to Airport. There is a Free Shuttle service offered by the Hotel. Room is average size. Staff is quick & friendly. The Hotel itself looks a bit old. The breakfast place is spacious, nice spread.
From when the shuttle picked us up at the airport to the time we checked out the staff were all happy and helpful.the room was spacious with kettle and fridge, comfy bed and a good size bathroom with powerful shower .complimentary drink on arrival and bottles of water each day in our room!bar prices reasonable ,never used restaurant so can't comment .half hourly FREE shuttle to and from airport from 6 am to 11.45 pm ,(ten minute trip ) ideal for catching train to explore Amsterdam and surrounding areas .Great stay ??
Typical airport hotel, Rooms not nice , breakfast below average, reception under staffed take you a long time to check in, try to be first of the shuttle to avoid an hour wait. Staff is friendly but doesn't really matter when you have to wait.
After our flights to Portugal had been cancelled we decided to take a 3-day trip to Amsterdam for my boyfriend's birthday. It was a last minute booking and what an amazing one. The hotel is super nice and it is actually very close to the centre of Amsterdam if you don't mind trains. The hotel gives you a shuttle option every 30 minutes to the airport, where you can also get a 14minute trip to Amsterdam Central. The staff at the hotel is just the nicest, like everyone we met in this city. Jimmy was really helpful and cheerful all the time. It was an amazing experience and we will definitely come back for a longer stay.
My wife and I had a room on the top floor which we requested when making our booking. We found the Hotel to be clean and tidy, our room was of adequate size, a bath with shower over, and equipped with easy chairs,TV carrying some UK channels, good wi-fi and tea, coffee making facility,, It was kept clean and tidy by housekeeping. Excellent free half hourly shuttle to and from Schiphol Airport. The airport pick up area as is the case for all of the shuttle services, " organised chaos ". If your budget is of a consideration to you then definitely value for money. Cannot comment on the restaurant as our schedule did not allow for us to use this, however we did look at the menu and it would have suited our diet and pocket. One other thing, low level aircraft noise can be heard in rooms facing the airport, up until around 11.30pm and from around 05.30am.
I stayed at the Best Western Amsterdam Airport Hotel (although all of the branding inside is still Bastion hotel - a hotel with a poor reputation locally) for one night whilst on business in nearby Aalsmeer. I found the decor to be very dated and very gloomy - I could barely see what I was eating at breakfast the room was so dark - and the rooms to be very basic. I also found the staff to be quite unhelpful and rude, I had an issue about a prepaid breakfast which was handled very poorly, the staff member involved was very condescending and clearly didn't care much for the customer. I appreciate they work long hours but they shouldn't take it out on the guests. Check in took a long time which and my arrival in the room was further delayed by an issue with the firedoor that led to the corridor in which my room was located. The electronic lock stopped working due to 'the batteries running out' which made the door impossible to open. It took somebody with a physical key to finally open it, after which point it was kept open for the rest of the duration of my stay by a piece of rope between the door handles. Not sure how this 'solution' complies with fire regulations but that didn't seem to concern the staff. Rooms as mentioned earlier are basic but functional although the windows are poorly sound insulated and I could hear planes taking off & landing until very late which wasn't conducive to a good night's sleep. Also the bed had clearly seen some action and was quite sunken in the middle. The hotel is apparently a 4 star establishment but I say more realistically it was closer to a 3. All in all there weren't many positives to say about the place & I wouldn't stay here again. There's another Best Western (plus) about 5 minutes away which is a much better standard - don't get the two confused and end up in the wrong one like I did!
Our room and bathroom were nice and big. We were very happy to have a bathtub. For some reason the room had two single beds instead of the double that we booked. It was also nice to have a jug for tea. Not a bad walk to hoofddorp for dinner.
Booked in to hear as we fly in to Amsterdam late & just wanted to get some rest before heading off driving the next morning. The hotel was just soulless & the staff on reception at night quiet rude. We sat in the bar waiting to be served for 15 mins with the staff having there backs to us. Would not stay there again
the bed was way too hard for our liking, service was good, room was clean, location was great - we checked in and then was able to use the shuttle to go back to train station that was all very convenient and the 'orange' bus was very visible
Nice transit stop 10 mins from airport, good amenities, you get a free shuttle from airport to hotel. The shuttle is every 30mins and throughout the day till midnight so you can come to airport anytime to catch the train to city.
Loud gurgling sound in the short for two hours starting at about 11:30 p.m. Reported to night manager at 1:00a.m. He said nothing of be done. Said only the manager could adjust our bill, th a t did not happen. Lots of lost sleep!
All the rooms are twins bed, the windows are not isolated so you can easily hear noises and the wind get in the rooms. Good for the swimming pool and the gym, the rest is really average, staff is young but not really trained.
in general the hotel is pretty good, especially the staff, but I found the floor aisles dark and narrow, the room itself was OK. common areas are nice and cared for. For those who may be interested it has an indoor smoking room.
The entire feel, besides the reception, bar and restaurant, feels kind of unpersonal, when walking to your room you feel like you're in a apartment building, which has been neglected for several years. The room hoever was clean, albeit it bit noisy due to some ventilation device. The noise could be reduced a bit by closing the bathroom door. Staff is friendly and professional.
Stayed here while travelling back from amsterdam. Nice hotel with good facilities including a nice gym and swimming pool. Rooms were nice with comfortable beds and good showers. There is also a free shuttle bus to and from the airport which only takes 15 mins. Would use again when flying back from Schipol.
Ended up at this hotel with a Priceline Express Deal, and were unfortunatley quite surprised. This hotel is listed as a four-star hotel, however it's more like a 2-star motel with a fancy lobby and mini-gym. While the lobby is nice enough, the corridors are cold and spartan, and the rooms are beyond dated and sparse (not like the photo on Trip Advisor at all). There were moldy joints in the bathtub, and nearly no toiletries. Huge spider on the wall when we walked in. Add to that the creepy drug dealer looking people just loitering about everywhere, and waking up in the middle of the night to someone screaming violently at his girlfriend and slamming doors for over an hour, and this has to be the worst hotel stay I've had in ages. The location isn't really that close to the airport (still a 15 min shuttle ride), and it's an expensive UBER into the city and back.
Having read the various reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor I was a bit unsure what it'd be like, but, as it was more or less exactly where we wanted to stay (for a friend's wedding in Hoofddorp), I booked it anyway. Which turned out to be a great move. The staff couldn't have been more polite and helpful. The food was a revelation. And the shuttle bus to and from Schiphol airport was spot on, including using it to get the train into Amsterdam itself (which from hotel to Amsterdam Central took less than 35 minutes). Yes, the decor in our room was basic, but the room was very clean, which is so much more important. And at less than half the price of the hotels we looked at in central Amsterdam, it was a bargain. Thank you, Best Western Amsterdam Airport Hotel. You delivered well beyond my expectations!
Staff have an extremely flippant attitude and are desperately in need of training. I was given a room with two single beds although I had booked a double. Rooms are extremely poor and badly need renovation. The kettle in my room was ancient, filthy, crusted and scaled and I wouldn't use it to make tea for my mother-in-law. No irons or ironingboards in rooms. Breakfast was shockingly bad. A few slices of cheese and other items on a tiny buffet. I had to ask for items such as bread to be replenished. A makeshift cooking station was set up to cook eggs and omelets. The cook was certainly not a trained chef by any means and the fried eggs I received were overcooked to the point of being powder dry. The hotel is right on the end of the runway with planes flying low overhead from 4am in the morning.
It's my third stay at a BW hotel in three years and unfortunately nothing has changed. As long as the hotel staff will not treat the customer as priority then this hotel chain should not claim to be "Best". There is no courtesy or friendliness from the staff (except a select few staff at restaurant and bar). The reception staff and management staff have lengthy discussions in front of the guests without first serving the guest and then having the discussion. Totally unprofessional.
The room was not impressive at all. No electricity sockets near the beds. Significant noise from outside. Poor breakfast compared to other hotels at the same category near airports. Staff's attitude was good.
Functioning hotel at Schipol Airport. Not remarkable but nice restaurant and helpful waitress. Room was a bit dated and two items were defective, Staff fixed the issues. Place is a bit soulless because it exists to serve the airport. Free airport shuttle bus every half hour
The staff was friendly but the room was very plain and the shower curtain was old and dirty. The wifi was very slow or not working at all and there was no other network to use. I was expecting more for the price
Very disappointing for the price paid. Extortionate parking rates at the hotel @ €10/hr. I parked in McDonalds while i checked in and then spent the rest of my evening returning my car to Schiphol and hanging around for the bus to take me back. No early bus either in the morning which i ended up forking out €20 on a taxi.
I stayed here for a short period when my usual hotel was not available. The hotel is very conveniently located near Schipol airport and hugely convenient for those travelling to Amsterdam on business. The hotel itself is a little disappointing. The lobby is very darkly decorated, which makes it uninviting when compared to nearby hotels. The rooms themselves could do with a little bit of an upgrade. They are a little worn out, which is unfortunate as the hotel has a lot of potential. The breakfast selection is good, but they did have a few issues with the coffee machines when I visited in Jan, hopefully fixed, but the rest of it was great. There is an omelette station for those who want that and it can be customised as much as you want. The gym on site is decent too, with a few pieces of equipment. I didn't have a chance to use the onsite pool so can't comment there.
This is the second time I have stayed here. On the plus side, it is conveniently close to Schipol Airport which it provides a regular shuttle service to / from. I cannot remark on the restaurant or bar, having not used these facilities. The hotel itself is sitated adjacent to a large MacDonalds restaurant which I guess is a plus. The only aspects which detracted from a higher rating were that although the lobby area is fresh and modern, the corridors and rooms are showing signs of age. They could really do with a freshen up in terms of decoration and fittings (there was a broken electrical power point in my room). Although a shuttle service is provided, it does not begin running until 6am, so for me it was not useful to get to the airport for my 7.15 flight. It would be helpful if the shuttle service timings were available to review on the website as the taxi required the next morning was an additional 12 Euros.
Dirty room with cigaret ash in the bathroom. Window couldn't be closed so we were woken up by the sound of airplanes taking off and landing. When we tried to complain, the receptionist became rude and did nothing about it.
Disappointed but there is hope. The hotel is not the cleanest and our booked double room turned out to be a twin with beds on wheels to ensure we drifted apart each night. My big issue is security, the safe in the room was locked on arrival and the receptionist came round with a bunch of keys but as he stated, not the right one. Rather than get the next right one, he advised that someone would come that day, the next or not at all. Bemused by this I felt left with no choice but to carry our belongings with us everywhere, even to Amsterdam at night. I did report this on check out and the lady in recrptio seemed horrified. Not too long went by before her regardfor my belongings matched her predecessor. I asked to put my cases in the storage by reception which was no problem, she told me that she would put them there as she was a tough cookie and I could leave them with her. Well I returned 3 hours later and my bags had not moved and no one challenged me when I walked up and took them. Guess wecwere lucky to leave the hotel with our belongings.
The shuttle service to and from the airport was very convenient. 2 Free drinks and offer of Coffee, tea and bottled water in the room was very much appreciated. MacDonald's next door is nice if you want to grab some fastfood.
Easy to find for our roadtrip. Made use of the free airport shuttle and used the train to Central Amsterdam. Room was spacious and clean. Enjoyed the coffee making facilities. Breakfast was very delicious. A lot of choice. Restaurant and bar area looked great. The McDonalds next door went down well with my son. There was a safe in the room but presume an extra charge needed so did not use.
Check in is after 2 pm, but we were allowed to keep our baggage and go to the city. They have a 30 minute bus service to the airport and back. Rooms were nice and big. Never ate anything at the hotel, so don't know about food. Hallways needed cleaning, but the pool and gym were nice and neat. The heating/cooling worked great. WiFi was fast and reliable.
First the restaurant: the food was overcooked and tasteless and we tried 3 of the 4 available main courses. When we asked about the wine list, we were told they had all three kinds: white, red and rose. It turned out they had wine from only one producer and the red wine we tried can best be descrided as lukewarm semi-sweet grapejuice with alcohol. I would advise other guests to eat at the McDonalds across the road instead... The shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport did not leave as sceduled because "the bus driver had to make a break". The substitute transport left 15 min after schedule. To be able to have the offered reduced price we had to make two bookings for a two night stay. We called them up front and explained this and were told that they had made it into a single booking and everything was ok. We explained the same thing when we checked in on the first night and were promised that this had been taken into consideration. Still, on the second day our room keys had been deactivated and we had to wait in line to sign for them again. When we complained about this cumbersome and illogical routine, the receptionist immediately took it personally and became rather rude. They receive 2 points from us as the rooms and the breakfast were ok. Still, we will choose another hotel on our next travel to Amsterdam.
Unfortunately, I have to complain about four things: 1) the bathroom was dirty full of long hair on the walls, in the shower space; 2) I paid an expensive rate for my room, however, the hotel reduced the priced on the internet but the manager said that he would not match the lower price announced on their own website; 3) we had a very early flight on Schiphol Airport and asked to remove the 28 Euros fee paid for the breakfast since we would not eat anything. Again, they did not agree with that and said that they could provide lunch bags, 4) so, we tried to have breakfast for 15 minutes just to not lose the money paid. The breakfast is not worth 14 Euros per person. Moreover, at 6 am, there were few options to eat and one of the employees asked if we wanted pancakes. The pancakes were raw and terrible and the employee apologized saying that he recognized they looked terrible. After that, three employees would keep laughing all the time about something we don't know. By the way, the tables and chairs were also dirty in the breakfast. The only positive thing was the shuttle and the shuttle driver, who was very nice.
The facilities (pool, gym, piano, library, elevators etc) make it s 4 star hotel! Not the quality! Hallways are dirty, rooms are poorly cleaned and staff are very casual! Its a cheap hotel so cant complain... you get what you pay for, but im surprised its listed as a 4 star hotel because it really isnt... On the bright side: they have great coffee at breakfast!!!
The bed was simply a sheet draped over a mattress (I make the bed better myself); there were random hairs on the walls; the sink leaked and the lever to plug the sick didn't work; the showers had mold on the walls; the mirror in the bathroom had stains over it from what I assume (or hope) were cleaning products; the towels were old, falling apart, and dirty; someone tried to get into my room at midnight. The check in lady was also kurt and standoffish (which I would normally be okay with, but with all the other problems at this hotel it was the icing on the cake of a terrible hotel.) I travel a lot and consider myself a pretty relaxed traveler, and this was the only hotel I have ever felt the need to checked for bedbugs (due to the uncleanliness) and locked the door (due to feeling unsafe because someone was trying to get into the room).
the receptionist named Desisa When i checked in, at 16:20 I knew that I was leaving the following day very early 03:30 am so I understood that I would not be able to have the breakfast that I had paid in my booking. So I asked if I could have a couple of rolls instead as i am a diabetic the reply was a cold NO. Now i have been traveling extensively ( ok this is a different account than mine cause somehow I did not have to login onto my account to book this property. Denisa was condescending, not helping bordeline rude. So i went to my room and came back down a hour later ( Denisa was on break I imagine she was nowhere to be seen) So I talked to an other receptionist ( Gabriela) It was night and day! Gabriela offered to arrange a lunch pack for me. This is all that I needed! Later on I was told that Denisa was a manager??? well I am surprised at that and glad that the staff does not follow her exemple. Following morning 3:30 AM, I go down to get my lunch pack, the porter was not at the reception and guess what a RAT ran from the lobby to under the bar fridges, not a mouse a full sized RAT! I signaled it to the porter who in turn signaled it to his manager via messaging
This business hotel does what it says on the tin. It is an overnight stop hotel for Schipol airport, which is 10 minutes away by free shuttle bus. Our family room was clean and comfortable and the swimming pool was not too small, as happens in some hotels. There is a restaurant with a limited menu and a bar with friendly staff and McDonalds is next door. Unusually, we used the hotel as a base to visit Amsterdam itself (trains go direct from Schipol to the centre) so we appreciated the free parking and the close access to the A4 motorway. I find Dutch people to be efficient and polite, almost without exception.
The place had nice staff and a nice swimming pool, but the hotel was unclean! The floors in the hallway looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in ages, and actually the first room that I was given had crumbs and bits of nuts that had been dropped on the floor. The bathroom in the room to which I was kindly and immediately moved smelled like a sewer.
I stayed one night here and I would not choose to stay again. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food in the restaurant was good . The rooms are dated and dirty. The corridors are dark and dingy and have a stale smell to them. The bathroom was a reasonable size but had a stale drain shell that permeated into the whole room. There are better hotels in the same vicinity that offer much cleaner facilities with the same free shuttle bus service and I would choose them over this hotel for my next visit.
We got some awful reviews online but as a sane individual i booked anyway and decided to take the chance. I'm so glad we did. Lovely, clean room, bright, beautiful bathroom. Lobby with colourful walls (tulips!) A pool, not massive, not deep, but clean and refreshing with excellent changing room and shower. There was a gym also but not being healthy we didn't use it, but I peeked through the window and it looked good. Didn't use the restaurant, but the lounge looked nice, there was a TV to watch and the receptionists all have excellent English. No issues with this place at all. My daughter and I used McDonald's for our breakfast, it's at the end of the drive. A five minute walk and Up some steps to a bus into Amsterdam. (Secret tip, there's a free shuttle bus to Schiphol airport where you can buy a two day ticket for 26 euros, for all your transport needs) But back to the hotel.. Definitely a great hotel choice!
Very nice contact, very competent staff, good facilities well organized airport Shuttle. I like to leave the BEST regards for Alissia at the Sales Department and Andrew at the front desk. Very prompt and flexible. Thank you very much
The Best Western Airport hotel was a really nice surprise. The room was a good size and was very well equipped. Booking and check-in were very efficient, and a shuttle bus provided transport to and from the airport. We really enjoyed our stay - a nice way to end our holiday trip!
The hotel was clean and modern. Room was a good size with tea & coffee, free wi-fe, English TV. restaurant had a good menu and food was good quality. Reasonabe pool and fitness room. About 15mins by free shuttle to Schipol airport. I booked at this Best Western because I am a memebrs of Best Western rewards but on checking in the desk agent told me that she couldn't enter details because I had booked through an online site i.e. booking.com! This was a suprise.
Very dirty and dusty room. Even after we asked them to clean the room, it was like they didn't clean it. Hotel staff could be more smiling and polite. Haven't tried the breakfast. Not 4 stars worthy!!
I had an excellent stay. The room was very comfortable, large and clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The gym, swimming pool and the airport shuttle was a huge bonus. In terms of value for money this was an excellent choice.
The children loved to splash in the swimming pool. The wifi was very fast which kept them playig games while we waited for ou connecting flight. Very nice rooms, allowed us to relax while etting packed for the next leg of out journey.
The staff is unwelcoming and borders on the surly. The entire property is rundown and not very clean. It is inconveniently located to Amsterdam and the shuttle to the airport and/or train only runs every half hour and closes down too early at 11:30pm. Be sure to note the schedule and location of the shuttle if you stay because the staff does not answer the phones (I tried for 30 min unsuccessfully to get through). And it is overpriced. There is a Holiday Inn Express that for the same money gives you a much better property, a great breakfast (not included by the BW), and is right next to the train station which will take you directly to either the city center or airport.
The rooms are dirty. I had other peoples hair in the bathroom and on the bed linen. My room safe didn't work and there was no attempt to fix it and no alternative despite me asking 5 minutes after check in. The hotel is nowhere near the airport! Its a ten minute bus ride away, so bank on spending lots of time waiting for the two busses an hour. They are "free" though. The hotel is also right under the airport flight path, so don't bank on getting a decent nights sleep either. All in all, I couldn't recommend this hotel. Its hard to find any positives apart from the friendly, but ineffective, staff.
Generally, it's good and especially its retaurant severs are very kind. it is convenient to have free shuttle buses between the airport and hotel, and not far from airport and downtown. I guess anyone will have a good experience if he stays at the hotel.
We selected this airport because it is close to airport with free shuttle. McDonald's is next door but doesn't open doors until 7:00 AM. Bus stop is quite near for easy access to Amsterdam centrum. Breakfast buffet is 14-euros add-on. Restaurant has excellent starters and house wine is well chosen and not very expensive.
This was a very useful location, within easy reach of Schiphol airport and with a half-hourly (during normal hours) complimentary shuttle between it and Schiphol airport. From Schiphol, transport links are good, and the journey into Amsterdam centre was convenient. The hotel staff were very helpful and attentive; and the room was good. The only drawback (predictably for an airport hotel) was aircraft noise. The hotel has a restaurant serving breakfast/lunch/dinner. The bar is OK, but we thought that there were too many bar stools; when busy there seemed to be a wall of humanity blocking the counter! The village of Hoofdorp (a 45-minute walk away - but there is a public bus service) has a good shopping centre and a few places to eat. Close to the hotel there is a branch of Macdonalds with extended opening hours, which can be useful.
I had my son with me and the booking was incorrect. Instead of putting us in a family room, which they had available, he made us buy another room. I even offered to pay the difference but he said since I booked it thru booking.com he wouldn't modify at all. I had to put my son in a different room. They did put us 3 doors down but when we walked in the room was filled with cigarette smoke and the bed was unclean so they moved us one floor up from him. Then we had no hand towels and the regular towels we had we dingy. I spoke to another agent at the desk and explained how upset I was that they couldn't put us up in the family room. He was apologetic and asked if I would like some free water for the inconvenience. My son is 16, otherwise one of us would have stayed until he room alone so he could be with us. But it is a very scary feeling for a parent to have their minor child in a hotel in a foreign country be in a different place.
A convenient hotel for an early start or late arrival. Check in and check out where seamless. The reception staff also doubled up as bar staff. More knowledge of the bar would have helpful. The evening meal menu is limited but ok.. It is served out in the bar area and check in, but for breakfast was held in a large dining room/restaurant. Friendly staff.
When I booked this room, it said it was a four star. The room was average. It really wasn't a king bed, it was twin beds pushed together. The bathroom was spacious and the shower head was very tall and wonderful. The shower had that screaming sound that I kept having to readjust to try and make it go away. The sink was clogged. Luckily it was just a quick 10 hours and we were out of there. The location was handy to the airport and the shuttle service was prompt and super convenient.
Check in was easy. The people at the desk were very nice and helpful. The room are decent size, clean and quiet. The shuttle runs 24/7 on the ½ hour. At the airport the place where you pick up the shuttle is labeled for Baston Best Western (along with other hotels). There are a number of shelters for the different hotels so be sure to look for the right one. It is about a 10-15-minute shuttle drive from the airport to the hotel. The hotel is very convenient and has a restaurant inside it (or you can walk across the parking lot to McDonald's). I would stay here again. The restaurant is understaffed so this is not a good choice is you are in a hurry. We enjoyed our meals. They were well prepared and well presented. I would say that when the menu states something is spicy it really isn't.
A nice budget style hotel for the weary traveller. I stayed recently for one night. The bedroom was clean and functional but what I really enjoyed was the breakfast in the morning. A freshly made omelette and mugs of coffee set me up for the day. The hotel is great for business travellers and offers a couple of nice seating areas for meetings. Very friendly and helpful staff too.
Clean room, good bed, economical price, no complains, just a peculiar arrangement, staff seems to float between the bar and front desk, receptionist that booked us in not axactly friendly, maybe she had a bad day, first impression of a hotel is the front desk staff, not the best impression
Convenient to the airport and has a great shuttle service every half hour, 15 and 45 mins . Room as you would expect though it came as a shock to find the window was damaged difficult to close. Sorted by staff in morning, but slow to recognise issue.
Bed was very comfortable. No frills economical hotel. Handy for airport. Really enjoyed free shuttle service. Everything you would need for an overnight stay near the airport. Enjoyed the pool. Food unexciting but good quality.
Had booked the Best Western from my daughter and friend who were having a sports tournament in the neighbourhood. Specifically chose the BW because they have a pool. However when the girls got there, pool was closed with a lame excuse posted on the door! Bummer, big disappointment! Free parking was good and quite ample. MacDonalds restaurant is the neighbour, handy.
Schipol is a popular place and some of the hotels reflect the lack of competition. So externally the hotel is a little tired, the reception a bit of a throwback to a previous era in hotel decoration and the hallways a bit dark. However the staff, bar and restaurant were pleasant. Room was okay so not bad.
This site is close to Schipol airport - ideal - we needed to stay close by. GPS takes you to the door. The parking on site is chargeable, and there was enough room for us. The building does look dates, and the outside areas need cleaning. A McDonalds is very close by - and this was welcomed. Reception was exceptional. The staff superb. Downstairs, there's a piano, bar, smoking room, and restaurant. It all went sort of downhill from here. Our room was pretty bland and bleak. Not quite what was expected from a Best Western member. It needed a good turn down as a must - but, total revamp on furniture and decor, which was well past it's sell by date. A plug socket was broken, exposing the inner contacts - this was by the bed. Not good. The bathroom was quite good - however, this needed a good degunge. It's a real pity that housekeeping and maintenance have let this site down. Some thought and investment in the room would also be good (New furniture - the floor looks to be reasonably new - but, it's all just a mix mash. Breakfast in the morning was exceptional, and again, the staff were exceptionally good. We would stay here again, but, would really like to see improvements in the rooms.
Staff did not care to answer any basic questions about the area. Staff is rude. But the kicker is I specifically asked for a wake up call. But did not happen. This is he most basic yet important function of an airport hotel. (Thank goodness I used my phones alarm) Does not exactly leave a nice impression of Dutch people when rude service is the last thing you get before leaving. As for the hotel. Very basic at best. Mostly old rooms you'd expect from a three star hotel. Looks like they spent the entire budget on a nicer front desk. Staff is fumbling around between serving the bar and the front desk at the same time which I found strange. Wifi at best is only strong enough for email. There are many others in this price range. Skip this one.
Stayed in this hotel for two nights. Room is basic but spacious and fairly clean. But pillow is a bit too soft and only one pillow is provided per bed. The housekeeping have forgotten to clean the bathroom and change my dirty towel on the second day. Free shuttle every 30 mins to hotel/ airport. Convenient location for Schipol, approx. 10-15 mins from the hotel. Hotel staff are professional and friendly. There is Mc Donald's adjacent to the hotel.
The shuttle is free and it takes 5 minutes to reach the hotel. Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. Basic room with twin beds. Nothing fancy, no extras. Bar is adequate and has 2 wines. Red or white. No coffee served until 7am.
Again for work I look for a hotel close to Schiphol, this hotel I have been around 10 times the last 2 years. It has a shuffle bus to the airport, most times when I come from my house to this hotel I take an official taxi because I do not like to wait for the shuffle bus (and wait for my check-in at the hotel with 5 other couples from the shuffle bus). The bar is always cosy and the cocktails are not that expensive. I had some bad experience, I had a room on the lowest floor straight to the entrance, you can hear people passing the door(but will not had that room again in the future). And the breakfast is not served from early time, so I did book the hotel with breakfast but already left the hotel before the breakfast started. But I will come back to this hotel
Stayed one night while transiting back from Kenya to North America. Location very convenient to Schiphol - we had a rented car and took less than ten minutes to make the trip. A free shuttle is also available. It is a basic hotel - white cinderblock walls in halls and the rooms as an example. Room was clean, showers worked, beds surprisingly comfortable. Acceptable for an overnight transit stay location at a reasonable price for the airport omgeving.
I went at this hotel for my long flight transfer. The hotel is 10 minutes from the Airport (by their free shuttle); the room clean and nice. The Staff really professional and helpful for your needs. Here also small gym with cardio equipment and the swimming pool. Recommend
good value for money decent breakfast quite spacious and well arranged room very basic bathroom overall clean room (but please ask the cleaning lady to clean under the beds too - I dropped my mobile phone charger and it fell under the bed - it wasn't a nice view at all) larger reception and lobby - convenient and comfortable good shuttle service to / from the airport
Prime location. Well sized rooms. Service from Front Office staff is decent. My only issue is cleanliness in the room. Room is stuffy and dusty. I didn't expect much given the value I got but cleanliness is paramount. Sink was clogged. In room carpet was dirty and dusty.
Perfectly o.k. for overnite between flites clean room good free airport transfers to and from connections .Helpful staff o.k breakfast but not "English" loved the pool ! Would stay again in the same situation.
This place was old run down and had terrible service. The restaurant was horrible, we ended up eating at McDonald's which is right in front of the hotel because it was that bad. The beds were uncomfortable and you felt like you were in a compound. The only good thing was the airport shuttle. Do not stay here.
Rooms are average but value for money. Breakfast simple but sufficient. Ambiente in dining area could be a bit cleaner. Whilst having breakfast the lady was cleaning the floors. Not so appetising to be frankly. Staff are very helpful indeed. Check-in rapidly and efficient. Will stay again when departing early from Schiphol Airport
I was travelling on business via Amsterdam. The shuttle service from the Airport was efficient, as was checking in. Upon check in, I realised that the free Airport shuttle service does not begin until 6am, which was a problem as I had a 7am flight. A taxi was arranged by reception, however the cost of 20 Euros is per room, not per journey! So, sharing an 8 seater taxi, the cost of the journey was entirely unreasonable when you totaled up the number of passengers travelling in 1 vehicle for a journey time of less than 15 minutes. I was also very disappointed in the noise levels within the room. All doors in the hotel seem not to be set to 'soft close', but slam shut. This may be reassuring in a prison environment, but is not exactly contributing to a restful nights sleep in a hotel environment. The corridor outside my room had litter on the carpet & this remained in place from the time of check in until I left the following morning. The reception staff were helpful, friendly & polite, which is why I have graded this hotel as Average, instead of Poor.
I think this is my first rating of Poor, I could of chosen Terrible but I suppose there is worse out there. I would like to start by saying this booking was just for an overnight stay. I booked on booking.com, The ratings seemed promising and the pictures of the rooms looked decent enough for a budget hotel and an over night stay. Upon check in the staff were friendly enough ( so nothing bad to report there ). My partner and I got to our room to discover that we had two small single beds. I requested a double and when my partner went down to change they were fully booked. We then decide to push our bed together and to our disgust the carpet underneath was absolutely filthy, Its like they just vacuumed around the bed for years and never bothered to check under it. It was vile, dusty, dirty, with crumbs of food. I was horrified enough to go searching for bed bugs, thankful enough we were safe. My pillow was a tinge yellow and dirty, the room was completely outdated, dusty, dirty and not worth $100 Australian even if it is a low budget hotel. I have worked in hotels my whole life and I could never let my staff leave a room this disgusting. Cleanliness should come first all the time!!! The only good thing was free wifi and free shuttle service!
The hotel room was clean and tidy, was simple decorated but with everything you need. The staff was mostly nice with just few exceptions. The hotel has a shuttle that takes you the the airport and you van use it any time you want this is really convenient. The housekeeping is efficient.
Filthy disgusting rooms...see pics...full of dust...lazy staff and aloof management ..deniza manager sits all day and doesnt supervise...ceo willems indifferent. Avoid this place at all means. I wish someone warned me. Bastion hotels are trash.
When you happen to stay at this hotel allot depends which room your staying in. The quality of the rooms seem to differ. The hotel offers shuttle busses to and from the airport regularly. Staff is friendly but if you happen to eat at the restaurant your out of luck. They have to little staff to offer decent service. The food I've had during my stay(over a month) was never prepared correctly or just plain awful, especially considering the pricing. Besides the hotel restaurant there is only McDonalds in the neighbourhood.
The Hotel is not far from the airport. There is a bus that brings the customers there and it arrives 2/3 times every hour. The building is not great looking and the rooms are not either. Moreover during our last stay the fire alarm of the hotel went off twice (12.00 PM and 1.00 AM), both the first and the second time we went down into the reception and the lady told us and all the other customer that everything was fine and to come back to our rooms; rooms that were all smelling like smoke (the lady said that one of the customer burned a microwave and that was the cause). Terrible terrible night! We were also conviced that someone would came to open one of the two blocked windows to let the smoke's smell out but no one came. And on top of that also the breakfast wasn't satisfying at all. The worst review I ever wrote, and it deserved it!
My only complaint about the hotel is that we had to share our room with a family of silverfish. They were quite nasty and I wouldn't recommend staying with them. Else the hotel staff was kind and helfpul and the breakfast was decent.
There are 2 "best western" hotels same name different franchised, can be confusing is you are tired and take the best western shuttle. There is nothing but a Mc Donalds within walking distance. HOtel charged my credit card when they were not supposed to and personal at desk were not amicable. The room number is not in the key so try to memorize it. wifi was very slow.
The hotel are very tired and should be ready for upgrade. Allthough, if you are just looking for a bed (on night) close to Shippol International Airport Amsterdam - it works fine. But that is also all....
The staff were great, hotel was clean and even had a safe! Not bad for people coming from the airport. Shuttle does take a while to get picked up but a small one took us to the airport when we checked out.
Pleasant stay and wonderful staff. Only 1 night stay and the best of all they have transfer from and to the airport. The rooms are spacious. Definitely would stay again and recommend it, if you need a Hotel near the airport.
Missed the point of service at the reception, as the staff were not very friendly and did not help with the arrangement requested prior to our arrival. Very sad. There was no factors that stood out or value-added our stay in this hotel.
The Best Western is one of the many airport hotels around Schiphol. They have a free shuttle bus to and from the airport. At 108,-€ they are a mid range hotel and for this price they offer 4 star amenities. Two comfortable rather wide single beds, a good size LG flatscreen tv, coffeemaker tea and (instant)coffee in the room as well as in-room safe and fridge. Shower is in the bath tub.
This hotel is not walkable distance from Amsterdam airport, but they provide free hotel shuttles at A9-13 with every 30mins, this makes all different as not much you can find nearby the hotel, but many shops and train station at the airport. This hotel is reasonable for their price, if you have been other hotels in Europe, their room size is big, but not a luxury type, so if just for one or two nights stay, it can be a good option. However, please be reminded that they are charging around Euro 6.5 per room per night for the City tax, which is not included in your reservation via online hotel bookings (eg. hotel.com, expedia)
The first person you meet at the hotel is vital to your Stay. This was my first time in Amsterdam. The reception staffs I met on 28th of April in the evening were the worse I've ever come across. All of them very unhelpful and did not care about our well being more especially the one that booked us in. Domineering and argumentative with customers. Also lack of experience to solve problems. Otherwise no problems with rest of stay.
Busy Hotel with Free Airport Shuttle Bus on punctual 1/2 hour schedule was great. Restaurant food good, limited seating, limited hours. McDonalds Rest. 1 block away for more budget conscious. Adjoining Bastion hotel. Required free room upgrade as room safe locked, hair blow dryer burned out, window would not close properly. Awoken by hotel fire alarm at 12:15 am and again 5 min later. No explanation provided. Not quite up to the same standard as Best Western in North America.
The reception ladies are the most unfriendly people, here from Namibia, we are use to friendly warm people. The ladies just want to get you out of their face and keep on doing the computer work. The rooms was not cleaned and water was not set out daily we had to arrange it our selves by three times out of the five nights stay.
The hotel itself was mediocre (at best). The experience went downhill after having dinner at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was good, but after a long day in the city we decided to go there again for dinner. As soon as we ordered our food we heard the couple besides us mention they have been waiting over an hour for their meals. We then waited an hour and observed at least five people getting up and leaving the restaurant as a result of the poor service. The waiter had to asked us several times what we had ordered. After finishing our meal, which was very poor considering the price, we had to go find our waiter to get the bill. We found the waiter casually chatting with a coworker at the front desk. We then returned to our room to find the beds were made, but nothing else in the room (including hotel towels) had not been touched. We will not be returning to this hotel again.
The check in staff was occupied with other stuff when we were checking in, also not enjoying her day at work. We tried getting a beer in the Hotel Bar, but here there were no waiters. Tried knocking the door to the kitchen, but got some sentences in Duch, but without anyone showing up in the bar. after 10 minutes a employee walked past behind the bar only to state "we are busy" and went in the door behind the bar. Still no bartender emerged. After 12-15 minutes we left the bar unserved and went to the bar in the hotel next door. The hotel seems old and not really clean, the beds are not properly made and in the staircase a vacuum cleaner was lying abandoned. I will not stay at this hotel again if I have a choice.
Due to a customer careless act of reheating a pizza for over 15 Min in his room, the entire hotel was packed with thick smoke. Managers in charge could not locate keys to open any room windows. Could not sleep in the suffocating smoke that entered my room via aircon duct. Endured the night till 6am to board a morning flight. No apology. No compensation. Worst hotel in Holland!
Staff in general are unpleasant except Denise the GM of the hotel. Offhand, unwelcoming, disinterested. Very noisy throughout - doors banging all the time - no dampeners to reduce noise/ability to slam doors.
Someone needs to fire the General Manager and hire someone along with a new staff, with some hospitality experience. There was only two smile amongst the entire staff--A shorter gentleman that looked like a manager working the day shift, and a very polite front desk hostess that helped us find the Hotel Baggage Storage. I will be back to Amstwrdam, but I will make sure to never stay at another Best Western, or Bastian, and I'll spread my bad experience to my entire community of travelers. Oh by the way, I write and own a very respected Travel Blog that reaches over 1.9 million people looking to travel and that currently travel The EU--Amsterdam, especially. I do wish you all the best moving forward. PS, the hostess at the Bastian Lobby Restaurant let us stand there, waiting to ask a simple question about the menu...she walked past us, with her head down and made us have to address her before she looked up to assist us. She gave a very vague answer and proceded to keep walking...I walked out immediately. Terrible way to greet, not only paid customers of the hotel, but potential customers to the restaurant. We went across the street to the nicer UH hotel, and received amazing service, with a smile and pleasant conversation. Maybe, your staff can benefit from a little trouble across the street for some education in HOSPITALITY! Air BnB is much better, all around, for the money I spent at your low end, poor quality, motel. I would love to have my money back.
We stayed just 1 night before catching a flight the next day. The location and shuttle bus are both convenient (although the shuttle doesn't run 24 hrs if you arrive late or leave early). Sadly that was the only plus, the room was cold and the heating didn't really work. There was no number to call reception, and no guest information - so we had to walk to reception to ask our queries. We requested an extra pillow and were told no because the hotel was full. We also booked a double room and were given 2 single beds and told to push them together. The room was very dated and basic, it felt like a low budget place, trying to keep costs to a minimum. It's very expensive for what it is, but a good airport location.
When I go traveling, it is very important have a good communication with other people for asking direction, transportation, tourism, etc. And it is good and helpful to have a wonderful and kindness reception desk lady to get everything we need.
We arrived this hotel On 12 April 2017 at around 11 o'clock at night, where we booked a deluxe room for two adults and two children. we checked in at the reception where they have asked for passports and we were asked to sign the entry form with name, email and signature. After we had checked in the receptionist refused to hand us the ‘key Card' as she claimed that the room could not accommodate two adults and two children, even though she had our reservation up on her screen where she can clearly see that the booking we made had included two adults and two children. I tried to explain to her that this reservation has been made on 25th of march and if it wasn't accepted for whatever reason there was enough time to reject it. She answered that they have not seen it! She answered rudely that this matter is to be discussed between us and Agoda and that it is not the hotel's responsibility to deal with. I asked her for a solution to this situation, she replied saying that there were no rooms available for booking and she “cannot help in any way possible”, and that I should contact Agoda to solve this problem. I have asked her to contact Agoda herself and discuss the issue with them but she refused and said, “you can use your mobile and do it yourself” in a very rude manner. I had to make an international phone call from my mobile with (Agoda) who phoned the hotel Immediately and spoken to the same receptionist requesting to resolve this issue by any way, but surprisingly it was clear that the receptionist who started the conflict was refusing to accept any kind of solution. During this time, my kids who were listening to the conversation started crying because of the way she was speaking, my little girl offered to sleep on the floor to solve the issue, both of my children were exhausted as we have just arrived and it has been a long day for all of us. It was past midnight, and we were still standing at the reception with no solution. I asked her if she can call the manager of the hotel to speak to as I wanted to complain about this situation, she answered that there was no manager at that time and I can complain the following day. I asked if they can provide us with the key for the room I originally booked so that my wife and the youngest kid can have a rest while I search for another hotel, she answered that she will not give us the key until we find another room in another hotel, I repeated that I need to speak to a manger or someone in charge following this she called the police and reported this matter. I insisted that she should provide the key for the room that have booked since she has no right to refuse. she agreed to give access to the room through a card which allowed entry only and can only open the door once claiming that if she handed us the proper key card we would all use the room! I have asked her several times since the beginning of this situation to give me her name she refused and took off her name badge. I left the hotel at 2 in the morning searching for a different hotel to spend the night in, I was lucky to find a sensible person in a nearby hotel who had no room but after listening to our situation he manged to provide us with a room, and we entered the room at 3 am.
Even the most basic information, like Reception number, Information brochure etc were not given at the Check-In. A request was made to provide a UK-EU pin converter, which was declined citing reasons as Guests take away the charges ... Seriously???? Kitchen was closed, so I requested to arrange food from outside, I was ready to pay extra for the services and the charger. But no help. I had to go to Mc Donalds at 11 pm, as the Bar (claimed to be open till date) did not have even the mini-snacks options. Overall, its a RIP-OFF!
The hotel is convenient to the airport. However, the rooms are very dated. The hallway lights are fluorescent and motion activated, however in one of the hallways I mostly had to walk in the dark because the lights would not go on until I was well passed them. My first room had no working hvac and I needed to be transferred, however the desk crew didn't want to at first and it took 3 trips down to the desk to get moved. The beds and bathroom appear to be out of the 1960's.
the front desk staff were rude. I haven't seen anybody smiling all the time I stayed there. The staff barely answered my questions. The hotel is very basic. There was no toilet paper in my room and wifi was soooo low. I hardly checked my email. It's definitely overpriced
This hotel offers a great breakfast and is close to the airport. Guests should be warned about using their room key for the lights though. This was confusing to me and glad I arrived on the daylight. Front Desk should let guests from Canada about this energy saving feature.
The only good things I can say about this hotel is that it is a great location to Schipol airport and has a free shuttle service. Check in was easy and pleasant. The bad: the room was on the ground floor so had to keep curtains drawn for privacy making it dark and dreary inside. One of the room lamps was missing a shade and had only a bare bulb. The bathroom was a gross out with hair stuck to shower walls and the hairdryer handle covered in what was probably face makeup. The 2 towels were thin and there was no floor mat. The metal bed light was so low overhead you could possibly hit it when turning over. The mattress was very soft and bumpy. So glad we only had 1 night. If you have a loneger stay whilst visiting Amsterdam do not stay here!
The level of the Best Western is clearly way lower than the best western Plus. The rooms aren't renovated and the fitness room is very small. The breakfast is kind of light for an international hotel. No free service to eggs, you have to ask them to be done on order. Small and not really tasty. Still thing it can be good with a room renovation.
This hotel is partially a best Western but also partially a bastion. Which I didn't know. I had booked a twin room in the best Western hotel. Yet upon arrival they assign you whichever room is available. In my case I got stuck in a bastion room. If I wanted to stay in a bastion I would book a bastion. Plus I didn't pay bastion prices, I paid best Western rate. But the staff happily told me that people are fine with this and I couldn't swap. Great. The bar is also run by bastion and again you get the same level of service. Which is pretty lacking. I ordered some food at the bar which was unsurprisingly not great. Not using this hotel again.
A great and secure accommodation facility within 10 mins drive to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The City of Amsterdam is also easily and cheaply accessible by train from Schiphol. The Hotel Shuttle that turns up every 30 mins comes in handy.Overall the saving is amazing. Hannan
Well located, practical with the best value for the price paid. Shuttle to and from Schiphol airport is fast and convenient, rooms are clean with enough space and they are well isolated from the noise. Perhaps one point to improve is directions on how to get to the Hotel, traffic in the area is a bit complicated
For an airport hotel, I was disappointed to find a 2pm check-in rule applied - so I had to hang around, couldn't even get a meal while waiting! The room was pleasant, clean, comfortable. OK for a transit ... if it weren't for the waiting before I had a room!
i have been here a couple of times, and last time weren't so impressed with front desk staff, however, this time the speed of check-in was one of the best, I don't know whether they changed something or was just lucky. Facilities the same class as you would expect from the chain. The only matter of dissatisfaction to me was the room lightening, as some of it was not working. However, I almost always experience this in Schiphol hotels that I am beginning to doubt it is a dutch tradition. Wifi coverage was better than my last stay.
We booked this hotel due to all of the hotels in central Amsterdam being over £200 a night. As we took the car we benefited from free parking at the hotel, the hotel offers a free shuttle to the airport where you can get the train to the city. Ideal for our needs, somewhere clean, safe and comfortable to sleep! McDonald's next door so handy for breakfast!
Noisy rooms, forget about quiet nights. Elevator looked like was used more for goods transport rather than peoe. Lights were broken(wires out! fire and electric shock hazard) in 2 rooms,( I had to change due to smelly bathroom and it was next to the elevator). Shower head was also broken... Hair here and there...
We stayed here before leaving AMS on a morning flight. It was easy to find, and easy to get to the airport from here. Very close. The staff was helpful. The beds were comfortable. We had a car and they let us keep it in a secured area. We didn't eat here; we walked to a nearby McDonalds.
Stayed here a few times and the staff are lovely and friendly and that creates a lovely relaxing environment to stay in. Nice rooms with lots of space and they are kept lovely and clean. The proximity is ideal to either tour the region or using the free shuttle to the Airport to get into Amsterdam.
I stayed in this hotel for 1 night during a visit to Amsterdam. Found the hotel to be in very good condition and with a very good shuttle service to & from the airport, which we made full use of. Ideal for people that want to stay close to the airport and not spend a fortune. Rooms are very good and clean, did not use any other hotel facilities due to short duration of stay, would certainly use again.
Stayed at this hotel from friday 21 - sunday 23okt 2016. I got 300 euro stolen from my room. It was no sign of anyone breaking in to the room, so one can wonder if the cleaning staff at the hotel, ore other hotel employes with key cards is to be trusted at all.. I went to the reseption desk and reported that someone had been stealing money from inside my room, but the staff didnt seem to care very mutch aboute my loss.. Actually they were laughing and joking with each other while I sat and wait for some sort of answer from them how this could happen! And I got no satisfying answer ore an apology from the hotel, ore an offer of replacement for the money that had been stolen from me. Also the aircondition unit on our room was not working properly, and the window on the room could not be opened, so the room was constantly very hot. I would seriously recomend that you book some other hotel!
One room of the two booking loose electricity after one hour. No problem, we can understand this event. The problem is that the reception don't suggest any solution... The sole response was : "you need elecricity ?" No comment !
This is your standard airport hotel. It's reasonably clean, reasonably quiet, it's cheap, and it has a good airport shuttle. If you just need a place to close your eyes before an early flight, this place is fine. If you're a tourist looking to visit Amsterdam on the cheap, and sorting hotels by price, don't stay in Hoofddorp! It has all the charm of an office block, the hotel is a long walk from the rail station, and then it's another half hour into Amsterdam. The hotel savings is not worth the hassle, just pay a little extra and stay in Amsterdam proper.
An airport hotel needs to get a few basic things right. Easy parking. Shuttle transport. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Unfortunately, this one overall doesn't get it right. Parking? Barely available as tour busses had taken over the spots in the back. Reception seemed surprised but didn't act on it either. Fail. Clean room? Well sort-of, but if the toilet seat is completely dislodged and one of the lamps is visibly broken and just dangling off the wall, there's clearly a culture at play where staff are afraid to speak up (or act). Fortunately we were given another room after complaining. At least the bed was comfortable and the shower ok. Don't expect too much from the bar and breakfast either. The bar had no music and staff didn't realise it. They couldn't fix it either though. Breakfast seemed disorganised at 8am and you don't get enough choice compared to what you paid for. In the end, the price was ok but make no mistake: this is your budget option when no-one else around has room. Book early and look around or you might find yourself trapped here.
easy if you need to be close to the airport , friendly staff good bed. the price and the value are excellent. if you want to stay in amsterdam the location is not easy to go to the city center . but if you have a early flight this is perfect
We were so thankful for the warm welcome at Best Western Amsterdam Hotel. Having just said goodbye to family and heading back to Australia, this was an appropriate stopover before our flight the next day.
I had such a very nice stay. Nice room, nice shuttle bus transportation from the Airport (I used it a lot). I can say buy far that would stay at this place again. Had no opportunity to try the food. I also strongly recommend.
Hotel with closed windows! And if you ask reception why all windows are sealed, they will say security reason and they will laughing behind your back, that you asked for fresh air. No proper ventilation in room and bathroom. Glass prison would be best name.
good rest good breakfast close to AirPort with shutle bus connection friendly stuff clean well located good choices the gym looks great very quiet n? any noise from the AirPort definitly will USE next time
close to the airport, good shuttle service, clean bed, breakfast was O.K. but not included in the overnight rate. Interior walls not very well insulated from the noise of other guests. Great lobby, good ambience in the lounge.
After reading mixed reviews on this hotel we was a little concerned what to expect but we was only in Amsterdam 4 nights and we didn't want to spend too much money and the hotels in Amsterdam centre are really expensive. The hotel is clean and staff are very friendly. Rooms are standard and bathrooms are a decent size. The beds are a little low but comfy. We also had an evening meal in the hotel which was delicious and drinks in the bar hotel are cheap (3 eu) for wines etc. The gym area looked good I didn't actually use it but it doesn't have weight equipment just cardio equipment. Me and my boyfriend have both said if we visit Amsterdam again we would 100% visit western hotel again. A tip for those who are going into Amsterdam centre you can get a 3 days pass for Amsterdam 25 eu pp and gives you access to the metro, tram etc. If you are looking for a quiet area with nice bars/clubs Leiden is a lovely location and only 15 mins from airport on a metro and tram run back to airport until 4am. Only problem is the hotel shuttle stops from the hotel at 23:45pm but taxi back to hotel is about 17eu .Enjoy guys and ignore the bad reviews you can't please everyone it's a good hotel and McDonald's on the door step for those McDonald fans .
Shuttle Bus is very punctual and every half hour at both hotel and airport. We are bikers and did have some issues with bike storage at hotel but it worked out in the end. Restaurant is all right but not a highlight. We only had dinner one night at hotel and server was poorly trained or poorly selected for his job.
The hotel was comfortable and near enough the airport. They serve food but close a ltitle early in tghe evening. But there us a McDonald's just beside it. The hotel price is not the cheapest but in the mid range, due to its proximity to the airport. The biggest issue was the taxi journey to the hotel. I was robbed by a taxi driver who placed himself just outside the exit of the Schiphol Airport with some tag around his neck saying "official taxi" or such like. He quickly switched the 50 euros I have him for a 10 and alleged I only gave him 10. I had just got 50 x 2 at the machine at the airport. Of that I am sure. I paid anyway as it was late as I thought I had made an error but thinking on it later, I did not make an error. I was indeed robbed buy this taxy driver. The lesson from this is do NOT take the first taxi when exiting the airport. Go to the official taxi stand where al taxis wait in line.
Booked online at Best Western for one night, turns out non-refundable or even movable to the next night. I guess lesson learned, buyer beware. The manager could not do anything about it. I thought we usually only paid after the stay.
Absolutely fantastic staff. Very pleasant and polite, nothing was to much trouble for any of them. The room was very nice ??. Very clean and tidy, .almost everthing would need. All that was missing was a face flannel and English Milk.
There for 6 nights. The good: Shuttle consistently on time, but watch as not always orange bus, sometimes white bus or orange minivan. The room and bathroom spotless, bathtub great but sink had only a trickle of water flowing (bad faucet needed to be replaced), linens fresh, comp bottles of water daily. Little to no plane noise between 11PM and 7AM. Convenient to airport. The bad: The bed was not really a bed but a piece of foam sitting on top of a sheet of wood (see photo).and only 18 inches off the ground. The safe was inoperable. I gave up asking for repair after two requests met with no results Also multiple requests for additional pillows ignored. Told more than once they were now on the way to me but never showed up. . until I stood at the desk and waited while the young short male desk attendant horsed around with some people. His manner was surly and sarcastic when I approached him, and he made a joke of requests.A driver was kind enough to hunt some pillows down for me. Desk help is poorly managed. When I checked in the female desk clerk first needed to complain to me about previous guest within that guests earshot range as he left her area. I was embarrassed. By the way, two emails plus a call to Best Western before my trip were never acknowledged. There were a few staff who were nice and seemed frustrated with how their peers treated guests. I sensed from their words that they would not be working there long. I also learned there are only 4 individuals who service 12 hotels for repairs, so if you have a problem in the room do not count on repair, either fix it yourself or just make due. Although this hotel was convenient to the airport and provided free reliable shuttle to the airport, using it as a base for sightseeing is not recommended as it will cost you 25 euro per person for a three day transit card to get you back and forth to the central station in Amsterdam and use of inner city transit. There are no sightseeing excursions from this hotel or in the area, all are from the center of Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a walkable city but even if you wanted unlimited use of buses, trams, and ferries there it would only cost 20 euro for the week. For flights in and out of Amsterdam it is fast and easy to catch a 15 minute train from Amsterdam center to the airport and they run every few minutes. If I did it again I would pay a little more and stay in the center. This is an opportunity rich hotel for Best Western as it could be a great facility with proper management and staffing.
We stayed here before flying home out of Schipohl. It was adequate but the driver of the airport shuttle was a huge jerk. I recommend clarifying whether your particular shuttle indeed goes to the airport before boarding in order to avoid getting taken to another hotel and being yelled at in Dutch.
Best Western Schiphol is a great place to stay if you have an early flight to catch. Fitness is open at 7 but they opened on request for me at five o clock. Great service, good sleep. Nice simmingpool and good tv.
On arrival the staff seemed more interested in talking between themselves than dealing with my booking. The room was of a very good size and the en suite was excellent. However the carpets were dirty and had come away from the wall leaving very unsightly marks on the walls. There were stains all over the table, the cups were not clean and there was gell of some kind on the floor next to the bed. The bedsheets though newly laundered had dirty stains on them and the free Wifi did not work. When I pointed out these items I was told that they would be looked into. No apology or sense of interest. To be honest I would never use that Hotel again.
With the free shuttle bus to and from the airport every 30mins this made the staying out of town a viable option. Rooms are good, only twin rooms not double. Shower is great. Resturant very pleasant but food was not great for the price. This seems to be the norm for airport hotels as you are a captive clientele. Luckily there is a McDonald's on site so you can grab a snack when you like. I would likely use this hotel again if not staying in the center of Amsterdam.
The first thing to mention is that there are many hotels called BEST WESTERN near the airport. Ask the driver if you're not sure. I was unlucky enough to end up at the wrong one, but one of the drivers from that hotel kindly gave me a lift with some pilots to the real place. The hotel is brand new, very close to the airport, rooms are comfortably sized, and the location is whisper quiet - very good for a night's sleep. Just what I was looking for.
Close to airport , free shuttle bus till midnight, clean , very bad beds , uncomfortable, two single beds in all the rooms , no double beds and mattresses are in a bad shape , front desk people are very friendly and helpful.
I stayed at this hotel for night with my colleagues during our trip to Germany on September 8, 2016. Hotel is nice. But there are some points to consider: rooms are too air coinditioned, so it's too cold in the room and the reception personnel is lacking of some politeness skills. They were a bit rude, maybe because of the lack of the serving personnel at hotel in general. As we noticed the same girl helped us to check out and then assisted with breakfast issues. Hairdryer was not working properly and no toothbrush and toothpaste. I might be mistaken, but all 4 star hotel I used to stay usually provide them. Close to the airport, shuttles are always on time and very comfortable ones.
I found the hotel to be quite clean and attractive. The price was high, but perhaps it was a special weekend. Service at check-in and check-out was good, shuttle service was good. Restaurant service was poor and selection was quite limited - I had to inquire in the bar to get seated, and this was at 6 pm. All in all,, not worth the money.
the transportation to airport and vice versa was appropriate. your service was on time.the room facilities like tooth brush and tooth paste was not available.water of the pool was not warm.it was very cool.by the way it was good. thanks
It is duty and they steel your things, so watch out for the cleaning personnel. I have been there every week in 8 months and now I had enough, often I have to change room because of it have not been cleaned probably and you find things in the room. So this is a warning to all, don't leave anything in your room they will steel it.
I'll begin with the good since its quick. The shuttle service to and from the airport is very frequent and always on time. The lobby has very comfortable chairs. Both of these things are important as we'll get to the "terrible" side of their grade. The comfort of the chairs was very important as I requested an early check in and that was moved up by 1 hour from scheduled check in (3 1/2 hours after arrival). Also I requested a high floor and was granted the 2nd. Well worth he wait... NOT! But apparently they rushed to get the room ready. Or at least I assume they did since it was nasty. Rooms: Only twin double beds available in the entire hotel. The beds are at calf height at best. A long drop down. I had to choose the "cleaner" bed to lay in as the house keeper I passed in the hall never came back with the sheets requested. FYI Bastion Hotel Groupe, if you're not going to clean the comforters, you should at least make sure you provide a sheet for a buffer. There were hairs and visible dirt on both sides of one bed and visible dirt on the blanket I was left with. The carpet was visibly in need of a shampoo and it actually made my feet itch through the socks I immediately put on. The bathroom sink had a very slow draining issue which delayed my grooming time. And the walls of the bathrooms probably haven't been cleaned since construction. Shuttle: Again great that is was on time every time because although there is a tram stop just a short distance away (found out late), the concierge instructed me to wait for it and then take the tram from the airport. An extra unnecessary step. I don't like to sleep in the party area. but for the price I paid for this trashy place, I could've had a hostel for a weekend. Thanks for reading through, tell a friend to tell all travel agents to get them fixed or shut down.
This hotel was selected for its price, but also for its comments, however it wasn't a very satisfied stay. Although its guidance to the free shuttle was quick and clear, when I arrived the hotel, the service wasn't satisfying. No power chager to borrow, and I could even smell the previous quest on the pillow... :(
hard to park in the evening. no one open the gate. reception is not very interested to the customer. location hard but it ok for the money. all cleaning equipment are on the corridor which can be dangerous. poor lighting system.
We only stayed for one night but it wasnt worth the money. The room was quite old fashioned and should get a make-over sometime soon but the worst thing was that it was super DIRTY. There were used tissues behind the night stand and under the bed, not only one, about ten.... it was grose. The fridge was filthy and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. When we called the reception to ask for some ice cubs they told us to come get it at the bar. when I went down there there were two receptionists looking like they had nothing to do. so i wanted a bucket of ice but only got 5 ice cubes in a glass because the ice machine was empty ..... I also asked for two empty glasses and toilet paper, so the woman gives all that stuff to me and didnt even bother to hold the door for me ..... seriously disappointed by this hotel..... not worth the money, super dirty and no guest service.... good thing they have free parking ..... but for a city trip too far from the city.... its a pain to get back to the hotel after midnight
Courtesy shuttle was quick and convenient. Check in staff was very efficient. The beds were comfortable and room was quiet. The breakfast was great. Fresh for you omelette or dutch pancake plus many other choices including smoked salmon.
stayed there for one night during flight transit. Its near the airport and the shuttle bus is very on time, and convenient to travel with it to and fro the hotel and airport. the room is cosy, nice and clean. However, the location is very remote and no convenience store nearby. Decided to take their breakfast last minute and its quite ok.
This hotel is Ok for AN ovenight sleep! The beds are soft the room is sober but everything you neer is available. What I missed was a terrace so you could sit outdoors! It was a very hot day and there was nowhere you could sit to enjoy the sun!
Good: Nice staff, Causy Room (large bed, air conditioning, TV, the internet, fridge, kettle with tea and coffie), Location, Free public transport to the airport Bad: Restaurant expensive (6 euro for a soup, and it was the size of a cup of tea...), dirty sauna
very good and it's OK to our budget for our family close to airport and providing good bus service every 30 min to airport from air port you can take train to city center and it takes 15 min good for family room and very convenience for us
Nice hotel with small swimming pool. A little bit old, but for the cost it is great for one night before/after a flight. The shuttle is every half an hour and it is only 10 minute drive. I chose this hotel over the adjacent Bastion as the pictures show bath tub. I got a room with a shower so I switched. It seems that old section has showers and the new has baths. Swimming pool is nice. Large enough to swim, although slightly larger would be nice.
There are several "airport" hotels near Schipol. This is one of the least expensive, but it's also very basic. The shuttle to/from the airport is hot and cruddy, and the exterior of the hotel is frankly ugly. There was only one towel in the room, and the numbers had been rubbed off the phone, so no way to know how to call the front desk, despite the obvious ("0") attempts. There was a refrigerator in the room, and they nicely supplied free drinking water. I was surprisingly not disturbed by flight noise. There is a bar and restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast costs a ridiculous 14 euro; you're better off getting something at the airport. The shuttle runs to/from the airport between 6am and 11pm, so if you have a very early flight, you'll have to pay for a taxi, for which you'll be charged about 20 euro! If you have a choice, stay at one of the others, such as the Ibis.
We arrived around 1030pm and ate at their restaurant as they were closing at 11:00pm. The front desk to include the restaurant staff were friendly and the meal was well prepared. The room was adequate with a refrigerator and microwave oven: did not need to use either of it. The TV worked fine and had about 5-6 working stations. The shuttle bus service was great as we returned to the airport. Not knowing if the shuttle bus was available and also it was raining, we opted to take the taxi from the airport to the hotel previous night. It cost us $26.00. The internet WiFi system functioned well without any problems. We didn't hear loud noises or any type of disturbance. The hotel is a older type but we didn't smell any tobacco smell in the hall way or the bedroom. Enjoyed using the large European deep bath tub. We've only stayed one night as our connective flight was 15 hours and during the night. It's one of the cheaper hotels on the airport area and served us well. The management needs to designate a smoking place in their premises and certainly not at the main entrance area. As we pulled into the hotel, there were people milling around at the main entrance to the hotel smoking cigarettes and smelled the unwelcome smoke scent.
The hotel being close to the airport means loosing out on sleep a little bit as planes come and go. The hotel was reasonably good, but hygiene could be better, as well as a smile with the service.....
Close to the airport but the condition is not ideal. Is good that they have shuttle bus and they are accommodating but the condition of the rooms is not what I expected. They have water bottles available for guests. The location is very close to the airport and is convenient but the condition in the room is not what I expected.
I had a failure with my tv and safe cabinet and could not get it resolved. I was very disappointed. I made several calls to the guest services and when finally i got attended to, my problems were all unresolved.
I came back to my room, 1032 and the whole corridor had a hideous strong burning smell. I went to the next room where I heard voices and the door was wide open with 2 men standing there smoking crack cocaine. I got the useless manager (who clearly cannot cope and I had witnessed failing an Irish customer the night before), who claims her name is Lisa [--] , who then spoke to the 2 men and lied to us saying these men had put the kettle on with no water in and that the smell was that and marijuana. This is after we had already recorder her telling them that 'it wasn't allowed'. I moved rooms to then be threatened by these 2 men outside when I went to get some fresh air. I told the 'manager' that I was going to call the police and she said if I do I will be asked to leave. The police came and the manager said because we had recorded her we had breached her privacy. Guess what Lisa, you are a disgrace, useless at your job, clearly involved in criminal activity and are putting innocent peoples lives at risk. Shocking, dirty and a dangerous hotel. The safe didn't work, it's noisy, not a place for respectable people.
Stayed just one night, but was easy. Short shuttle bus ride from Schiphol Airport. Friendly staff. Smallish room, but everything works. Nice shower. Enjoyed the (small) swimming pool. Good breakfast. And easy shuttle back to airport (every 30min).
Me and my partner visited here for 3 nights and stayed on the 5th floor. We were very impressed pulling in to the hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the maids came everyday. The free shuttle to the airport/train station are great! Always on time and most of the time there are 3 on the go not just 1! The drinks are a little overpriced, but they are at most hotels, so can't really knock it for that. I don't really have a bad word to say about this place! Will definitely be back.
We found this hotel to be not clean with very dark hallways. The food in the restaurant was disgusting. Serving bowls on buffet were "caked over". Placed here by Delta Airlines for a cancelled flight. Would never stay in this hotel ever again!
Dirty hallway..no light in the hallway to open the door at room 3035..dirty bathroom with disgusting hairs in the bath tub..flies everywhere in the breakfast restaurant...absolutely disgusting hotel, dirty windows in the hotel room
Shuttle will bring you right to the hotel (from airport), staff is kind, nice and obliging. Room is nice, big and clean. Rooms are easily to find. Hotel have great services and location. It is only 8-10 minits by car from airport.
All good apart from a broken electronic socket with an exposed wire and also a broken wall light with more exposed wires. This didn't really ever affect us. The free shuttle to the airport to get the train into amsterdam was a real bonus
Location is good, very near the airport. Shuttle bus to and fro from the airport is always on time. However, if you plan to have some peace and quiet after a long flight....you can forget about it. Instead of using silent sliding doors for the floor entrance they have doors that open and close with a disturbingly loud noise which keeps the room guests awake whenever someone enters the floor ! Wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are in transit and require some good rest.
First problem: a few high steps up to entrance. The ramp was finally spotted, small & off to the side. Reception clerk was not friendly, annoyed that we didn't immediately produce the correct travel document. Restaurant service was slow. Room was not truly clean, with significant dust on top of the non-functioning safe in closet & areas not vacuumed. Room size was good both room & bathroom. Bus shuttle to & from airport was very good & on time every 30 minutes.
I booked this hotel because I had a long break between the next flight. Free shuttle from airport to hotel. The bus driver were friendly and helpful. Good service at the front desk and very easy check in and out. Rooms are clean and big for 1 person like me. The bed was comfy, great TV channels in Dutch only, mini fridge, clean shower and washroom. Good lounge and good breakfast.Highly recommended for short stays while waiting for connection flight.
Nice lobby, food was decent, room kind of soso, bed horrible, personnel really friendly. The lamps fell off the bed onto my head, impossible to let fresh air in, the bed like a hammock, U-shaped mattress, narrow with a strongly (detergent) smelling pillow
Quick stop over here before a flight the next day. Staff were friendly on reception. Had a fitness room. The rooms were ok, bed was comfy. Wifi worked on and off, not brilliant in the room but better downstairs. The restaurant was good, I had a really nice meal. It's open till 11pm and the bar is open until midnight I think. Look out for the orange bus at the airport if your catching the shuttle. Doesn't take long to get to the hotel. Seating area by reception was very nice. Lots of English speaking TV channels which was nice. I would defiantly stop here again.
I stayed two nights here on business in April 2016. The room was comfortable and clean, and had all that was necessary for two short nights. The hotel is 5 to 8 minutes' travelling time by road from Schiphol Airport. The hotel shuttle could do with running even later into the night as we ended up coming back after the last shuttle and getting a taxi from the airport. One advantage of being in a hotel near the airport is the generally excellent train service that runs all over the Netherlands from the airport. I would recommend this hotel to the business traveller. The breakfast was of a good standard.
The hotel staff at reception was pleasant and very helpful. This hotel also provided free shuttle service to and from the train station at Airport, every 30 minutes. There were free water bottles for the guest. overall, this hotel had all the necessities and at a very good price.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. The three biggest advantages are: a) close to the airport; b) it has an indoor swimming pool; c) super-inexpensive rooms if you shop around on the discount websites (I got the room for 50 euros). I'd planned a one-week trip to Amsterdam and for various reasons wound up having to stay a month. By the final week I wanted out of the main city - so I found this hotel by the airport WITH AN INDOOR POOL! But the pool filter was "broken" for the first three days I was there and the pool couldn't be used. I was VERY unhappy, and was very vocal about my displeasure. The manager, Jeroen, went out of his way to mollify me - he even threw in free breakfast for each of the days I was there. By day four, the pool was fixed and I was a happy customer again. Thank you, Jeroen, for your excellent customer service. Not a great choice if you want to spend a lot of time in Central Amsterdam - there's absolutely nothing to do in this area except eat in the hotel restaurant or visit the McDonald's next door - but if you're in Ams for just a few nights and want to be close to the airport, this hotel is a great choice. The airport <--> hotel shuttle service runs every 30 minutes and is free and reliable. One negative - I don't travel light, and had three large bags with me. The hotel has luggage trolleys, but maneuvering the trolley through the hallway doors was difficult. The doors are difficult to open (sometimes requiring a room key) and they don't stay open without blocking them somehow.
Spacious well equipped rooms and nice comfortable beds. Transport to/from airport was quick and comfortable (big bus). Local area has nothing to offer except McD (walking distance). Front desk staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
6 minutes away from the airport, and they offer a shuttle service for free every half an hour which was very helpful. The room was large for the price and a nice bathroom as well. They offered free wifi and complimentary water bottles which was so helpful for us traveling. Great for a stay close to the airport.
Hotel near the airport with average service. Normal rooms. Excellent location near airport and free transport to the airport...even when you just want to go shopping. Some frequent noise of aeroplanes taking off but you get used very fast. Seems no enough staff to serve front desk, restaurant and bar
There were no light in 3 lamps in the room. It was not repaired even after complaining at the reception. I forgot a book in room number 1026. Riverton. Is it possible to have it sendt to my address. There is a card with my address in the book. Runestenen 1, 8210 Denmark
Beds are dirty, there as water in the sink. was a disgusting experience. The only good thing is the transfer to the airport, goes every 30 minutes, and is very close to the airport. But the room is a shame.
I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western airport in Amsterdam. The hotel was quiet and cool. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There are regularly scheduled shuttles to and from the airport which are easy to locate. I would stay there again.
I like best westerns generally, good value for consistent quality. Not here. The room was clean and comfortable enough, but the employees were unhelpful and disengaged. Also a warning to travelers: WIFI here is not reliable. I alerted the front desk, but they dismissed it. VERY inconvenient if you're traveling with the nearby airport.
Although this hotel should be classified more like a 3-star hotel (and not 4-star), it is really good and for an overnight stay between your flights or for a short stay in the area, I can only recommend it. The rooms are quite small, but have everything we needed. Wi-fi is working well. The bathroom is little funny with two wash sinks and the shower might have been more stylish. The hotel is little bit old and some things do not work, like reading lamps above both our beds. They are even dangerous, because when trying to find the problem we turned down the electricity switch for our room, which needed to be repaired at the reception. Free parking during your stay is included. Breakfast is not included, which is a negative point, as it costs 25 EUR per person, way too much ! McDonald´s is situated right in front of the hotel. The hotel belongs to Bastion Hotels Group, so they work together with the neighbouring Bastion Hotel. There is a free airport shuttle, which is very helpful. Prices around Schiphol airport are generally very high, but we found a good deal for this hotel (roughly 60 EUR per night, non-refundable). All in all, do not expect too much luxury and you wont be dissappointed.
My partner and I stayed for 7 nights was a nice hotel though very out of the way didn't realise when booking ..... we had to take a shuttle bus to the airport then take a train to get into the city centre....the shuttle stopped running at 23:30 so we had to be outta the city for around 22:30 to have time to get a train back to the airport not ideal at all and if you missed the shuttle €40 for a taxi not good .....the bar and lounge was very dull and boring not a large selection alcohol no music ....breakfast and dinner where not that exciting but where expensive ...... I would only advise this hotel for a stop over till somewhere else
We used this hotel as a base for a long weekend in Amsterdam. A bit of a long commute into the city when you factor in the shuttle to the airport, then the train into the city and getting back again. We couldn't fault the hotel, it was modern and clean, good sized rooms with tea/coffee facilities and a mini fridge to store supplies. It would of been helpful if the cleaners hadn't of removed the room keys and cut of electricity!
Only used the hotel for somewhere to sleep spent most of our time out at Amsterdam central, the free shuttle to airport every 10-15 mins was good. We had two twin beds so we pushed them together beds wasn't bad quite comfortable. Bathroom wasn't that nice. Can't comment on the bar or food as we didn't have any of these. Quite noisy due to being right next to the airport but we expected this. McDonald's down the road. Overall not great but not bad.
Firstly the hotel isn't near the Airport, it is about 10 minuet drive which will cost you either 30euros or take the free crammed hotel shuttle bus that they supposedly send out every half hour. Finally arriving we checked in I had to produce the proof that I requested a double bed? I was staying with my partner obviously we wanted a double bed. Got to our First room! 2 single beds as we was told there are no doubles available they do have double beds but only a few of them :/ so we wanted to get ready and head into town, I thought quickly use the hair dryer in the bathroom I nearly set light to my hair as it caught fire! my partner put it out very quickly and marched down to reception and demanded another room this time WITH a double bed! It was only because of the hair dryer that they moved us to a room that we did ask for. The room was tiny with absolutely no storage space for you things although the bathroom shower was surprisingly amazing (if I had come on holiday for a shower then this would have been a total different review) I think out of all of the staff in that hotel I came across 2 that wasn't entirely rude.... unlike the rest and one of the two that was ok wasn't even from this hotel he works in the best western in the centre! so that makes 1 nice member of staff here! We didn't dare experience the food it didn't look very appealing so we chose to stick to fresh pastries from a bakers! the last shuttle bus to the hotel they send out a tiny mini van! so its first come first serve! No one cares about waiting so as soon as your buss pulls up you have to make a run for it. i have stayed in worse hotels but had 100000% better treatment that i received in this hotel, lile cheap hotels to crash in for party holidays etc... this was supposedly a nice hotel for professionals and business people! I wouldn't recommend this hotel EVER Awful stay!!
I didn't enjoy this weird hotel. First it was not clear to me that they would pick us up from the airport so we took a taxi which cost 20 euro to go about one mile. When we arrived, the staff was not particularly friendly and all the furniture looked uncomfortable. We were shocked by how small the room was. There is no restaurant and the only restaurant nereby was closed because it was Sunday. At one point my wife and I were going in different directions and I had to argue with the front desk to get a second key. We couldn't make a call from the room and were told that they had to do something so that we could call out. The breakfast was just awful. We couldn't even get coffee because something was wrong with the coffee machine. I really should be giving them only one star. This is the worst Best Western.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Room was decent size. I was staying with my cousin and we had 2 single beds and they were both reasonable size. Hotel cleaned the room everyday and gave us fresh towels. There is a gym and swimming pool on site. The gym could do with some free weights or weight machines as it only has treadmills and bike machines. The location is excellent to the airport however it is very far to the city center. It took us 30 minutes to get into city center and we drove so I believe it could be longer if you dont have a car. An uber cost between £25-£40 from city center to the hotel and also depends on what time. Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel and would recommend it if you you want to stay closer to the airport as they offer free shuttle service. However if you want to go into city center often, then I recommend getting a hotel closer.
This hotel is very close to the airport - only a 10 minutes drive, so it is a good place to stay if you have a long connection. Nice and welcoming staff. They is a free shuttle from and to schiphol airport every half an hour. The hotel is focused on travelers and works around the clock
Very convenient, located 10 minutes from the airport, they offer free shuttle. You have to walk to find a gas station with a food store), only mc Donald's is near. ´Don't expect anything close to it. Good for an early flight, and very good beds
I spent just one night at the hotel, my room was so big and the bed was very comfortable. The wifi is very poor but the greatest asset of this hotel to me is the shuttle to the airport which is always on time. If you need an easy access to the airport, then this is your hotel.
We only stayed the afternoon for a much needed nap after a sleepless flight. Lobby nice and staff very friendly and helpful. Halls a little shabby. Room was clean with sufficient amenities. Beds were slightly below avg. For the price, it was fine. I would stay here again. Good value. Easy access with shuttle. McDonald's offers quick and easy food alternative.
good hotel, but needs some improvements...rooms were not properly cleaned, not enough towels, the shower courtain kept falling off, it was clean but the beds were not properly made in the mornings. we did not have a suticase stand. breakfast amazing,, staff efficient
Two nights here prior to a cruise. Bed was comfy and the room was quiet. Good, fast wifi. Friendly staff. Room was a bit shabby. Cleanliness was spotty. Not bad for the price, which was around 80 work.
Best western clearly haven't discovered the concept of sound proofing. Was woken up to what sounded like a 747 taking off from the roof. Every other hotel I've stayed at the airport has been spot on. Upon my arrival my welcome was less than curtious and very unfriendly. To top things off the breakfast was disgraceful. Flies hovering all over the food, which for me is a big no no in terms of hygiene. To be straight up I'll not make the same mistake again. Lesson learned.
Nice and convenient hotel , very close to the airport ,shuttle bus available every 30 min. and the trip is 15 min. Rooms acceptable for one or two overnights. Prices are in normal range Restaurant not visited , due to late arrival Nice and comfortable lobby clean
This place has deteriorated markedly since prior stays here. No place else to eat unless you have a car, except for MacDonalds, and the food & service in their restaurant could only be termed gawdawful! Friends flew in from another country just to meet me over dinner there. They were kept up all night by tremendous continuous noise, their room was apparently grim. I was tremendously embarassed and hurt for them. Because I'm female, I was given a rm. in which the window offered a close up view of parked cars. I asked to be moved, got a rm. that was run down, in need of repair to door, replacement of torn, moldy shower curtain. Needed extra pillow but 9 hr. after making a polite request verbally & in writing they had not brought one. No desk. Amenities pared back to the point of being extremely chintzy. Wildly overpriced breakfast w/ no other option but to pay it.
I used this hotel as a stop on a solo travel just for one night and it was very ideal. True to photos. The staff was helpful and friendly when it came to the shuttle. The room was clean. Not too cozy but if you're only stopping for the night it works.
I stayed here on business recently, I found it very convenient to the Airport and the complementary shuttle service is very handy. The lobby and the hotel is a little shabby round the edges and could do with a refurb, I found it a little dated. However it was clean and comfortable. The bedroom was adequate for my needs and despite being so close to the airport, I slept well. I ate in the restaurant on my first night, as a diabetic I found the menu choices a little restrictive but the meal I had was very good. The only complaints I had about my stay (which I reported) was that there seemed to be a lot of flies buzzing about. And the 2nd floor security door didn't close properly. The best thing about this hotel was the staff. The reception team were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The guys in the restaurant were very good. Overall I had a pleasant stay, but there was nothing to make this hotel stand out.
The hotel is one of the most affordable in Amsterdam and is very close to the airport. Good place for transit or short week-end stay. There is a shuttle bus going directly from the airport terminal to the hotel itself. Bathrooms with a bath. Clean rooms. Too expensive breakfast. Poor internet connection.
We stayed at the hotel so we could catch an early flight the next morning. The room was good -nothing too special about it but the bed was huge, breakfast was nice and the shuttle bus very convenient. Staff was very friendly as well!
Had to take a quick trip to The Netherlands. Needed a hotel for a quick nights sleep. The hotel staff were very nice. The room was clean and quiet. Shuttle service was was free and easy to use. Ran every 30 minutes .
This hotel is not at all a Best Western but a Was Western. The room was very poorly cleaned, the springs could be feett in the matresses - very uncomfy and not at all good to sleep on. The thermo tap in the shower did not work which meant that the water was burning hot even when it was on cold- a danger for children. We expressed our concerns when we checked out and our bar tab was wavered as a good will gesture, which was appreciated- they noted all problems with the room. Planes flying overhead until 22:30 was also very annoying. All in all a poor showing
Room was ok and clean but the shower was broken..then we went to reastaurant in the evening where they didnt speak really english..they were not able to describe the meal and also very poor menu.there is also a pool..
I found this hotel provided excellent service. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Shuttle service excellent and restaurant service very good. Although I was only at the hotel for one night, I will return should I come back to Amsterdam and need to leave from the airport.
I enjoyed everything about the hotel staff are polite and courteous I would highly recommend to all my friends and family I shall be returning in the near future I would not stay anywhere else as it is close to the airport with a free shuttle service
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel and its value for money. Everything worked, everything was clean, the staff were pleasant. The public areas were comfortable and especially a special smoking room. I appreciated the free shuttle though I did have to wait quite a while for it. I have two criticisms, one that the food in the restaurant was pretty bad quality, and secondly I would have liked to have been encouraged to pay for my mea at the time rather than put it on my bill because in the morning there was only one reception staff member on duty and I almost missed my shuttle by having to wait so long to pay for my meal.
the hotel, situated 10 minutes by bus from schiphol airport, is an extremely pleasant place to stay. the rooms are clean and hygenic. and, the staff is friendly, helpful and very professional. the hotel has wifi, internet stations in the lobby, a fine restauran and bar, and an outdoor court area. it is a great place to stay if you are flying in, or out of schiphol. or, meeting visitors.
I stayed in this hotel for two nights and it was comfortable as I had to go to Schiphol early in the morning. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport every 30 minutes which is punctual and comfortable . The room was good, the bed comfortable and the breakfast good. It could have been a little cleaner but nothing major. The service was alright even though the reception was always in a hurry . I recommend staying here if you need to catch an early flight or need to be at the airport and don't need to go to Amsterdam.
The full breakfasts every morning are fantastic. All but one staff spoke English, and some speak French and German. If you're an obese North American, don't try taking a tub bath! They are clearly built for skinny people and you may get stuck. Watch the threshold when going into the bathroom at night. The end of the bus line to Amsterdam is about 300m away. Quiet, quaint family area.
One night before my flight. Really good hotel with clean rooms, great bathrooms and nice beds. The shuttle to the airport is just outside the door and for free. Direct to the airport. The staff was very nice and friendly and I got free drinks when I arrived, that's a plus!
Clean room, really spacious. A bit expensive but we wanted to be close to the airport for our early flight and the shuttle runs very often. The bathroom was really spacious and the AC worked pretty well. It was a comfortable stay.
It would be helpful if more detailed instruction was given on arrival regarding useage of room keys and how to activate the electricity in the room. The refrigerator was not plugged in nor was there supplies for coffee. The room was very clean and presentable. Shower leaked but useable. All in all it was quite satisfactory for me but still over priced, if not for the airport shuttle from hotel to Airport. The Airport to hotel was very late but did finally arrive.
The room was very nice and clean, perfect for a one night stay before or after a flight. The hotel arranged a shuttle bus just for me as I arrived at the airport at 12 pm and normally the shuttle service ends at 11pm. I had to wait a little bit longer than usually but finally it worked and I had a very good night sleep :)
hotel room was middle size. it was clean and had a big window. Bathroom was very clean Its location is perfect, it is in the middle of the city, thats why you can go to everywhere by walking . We had just Breakfast and it was awesome and rich. its price also not to mush for amsterdam. ? can advise this hotel to everyone.
Great value for money. Only had a couple of hours between 2 flights, free shuttle from airport every 30 minutes takes you to the hotel in less than 10 minutes. Check-in fast and efficient, I had prepaid my booking. Room, not the best, but good value for money. Bar not practicing hotel prices which was a nice surprise. Had a very good sleep. Check-out even quicker than check-in. I had to remind the officer to charge me for the drinks at the bar! Free shuttle back to the airport. wifi for multiple devices was free and fast Will I stay again? For a short stopover between 2 flights, definitely!
Booked this hotel because we were using a BW gift card. Got a good rate using a special deal on the Internet and because they had a shuttle to the airport. The room is definitely dated but the room had a great bathtub and the bathroom was clean. I see that someone commented on no face cloth but we expect that and bring our own. Unlike several guests we found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good rate and is just staying over.
Rooms are extremely dated and not very clean-old style bedding, carpet, walls are scarred, bathrooms very basic. No amenities. Corridors are reminiscent of a prison. Hotel is in serious need of a rehab. Restaurant is mediocre at best. Cheap price and close to airport is only pros.
I stayed at this hotel for three night for business, as it was booked by my company with big group, I have to choice but staying here. Room is standard EU room, two small beds almost touching each other. Toiletries provided by this hotel is bare minimum, include one little tube of shampoo and a soap not much bigger than a American quarter. And they don't give you new ones for the next day! Total three towels for the room. When I first check in, there was no toilet paper, I have to use the face tissue. it was very uncomfortable. The service at front desk is poor, room key not well made, stopped working after one day, this happened to other people too. When I check out, it took them three prints to get the name on bill correct. Overall, bad experience.
No face clothes. No hair conditioner. No free breakfast. No good food establishments near-by. The front desk did not know how to deal with a BW Platinum Elite member's requests. Free shuttle to airport was good and necessary.
I have stayed in a number best western hotels in Canada all were reasonable good . the Amsterdam airport hotel was to say the least not worth the money .starting with reception was not made to feel welcome .hallway lighting very dim carpets in hall could use some cleaning. drapes in room I hade to stand on a chair to close them few towels small bar of soap no other amenities also a mix up by hotel about breakfast . which was not great. the shuttle is the only thing I can say that was good
Cheap and peaceful, but not clean I wont revisit. Hair in the bathroom sink. Shuttle bus driver was happy to stamp on the breaks ... Very uncomfortable You will come here because it is close to the airport and cheap, take a short train ride instead and find somwhere better
We wanted to stay near the Airport and the shuttle bus that runs every 30 minutes to the airport only takes 5 minutes and from the Airport we could get a train into Dam Square which took 15 minutes so for us it was a good location and we found the staff very helpful
I went to the reception to kindly ask them to call a cab for me, and they started laughing at me, shouting "I want a cab, I want it now!" (in Dutch). Too bad for them I do understand Dutch. Hotel was ok-ish, though walls were not soundproof enough (you can hear other people showering). Food in the restaurant was very good.
We visited Amsterdam and decided to stay near the airport on the last night to make it easy to fly in the morning from the airport. Regretted the decision as the place is very 'motel-like' while the price was not. The corridors were dim and gave the feeling of a small town community hospital! The room assigned to us upon checkin was not clean - the beds were not made and the bathroom had a stink. Assuming this to be an honest mistake (even though I have never experienced this during our extensive travel!), we thought the other rooms might be cleaner/better (we were given 2 because they didn't have another quadruple room for the family). The staff was not much friendly or enthusiastic as well. The corridors and the entrance reeked of smoke. During our weeklong trip we stayed at Hilton properties at Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and found the rooms, quality and value for a similarly priced hotel to be far superior.
I wanted to stay near the airport for a night and stayed there. It is a very nice and clean place and the staff was very friendly. The shuttle service was good, every ~30 minutes, as stated on their web site. Price was very good as compared to similar hotels.
They should be cameras that monitor people who enter in the rooms because as l lost my money that i had left in the room when l went to the gym. The surfer was not working hence l didnt put my money there and it was never fixed as promised by the hotel assistants stationed at the reception until i checked out. However, the rooms were very nice and are cleaned on a daily basis. The shuttle service to the Airport is very convenient.
Only problem was a clogging sink in the bathroom. Otherwise a nice quiet airport hotel. Shuttle was handy. People there were really nice. No airplane noise. Had to stay over night to catch my plane in the morning and it worked great for me.
The staff and rooms were great! I stayed here twice on my last visit to The Netherlands and enjoyed both stays very much. The continental breakfast was one of the best I've experienced. It is a little off the beaten path, but has an airport shuttle and is walking distance from a train station. There is also some restaurants close by. It is my new Schiphol Airport of choice!
Ideal for staying close to the airport and unlike some you can not hear the planes. Food was very good and the staff could not be more helpful. Free transfer bus to and from the airport. Room was warm and comfortable.
Stayed there this week to catch a flight out. I booked the room on line and when I checked in they could not find my reservation. Not a big deal as these things happen. They gave me a room and promised me they would charge me only the on line rate not the walk in rate. When I checked out in the morning. Guess what. Everybody had amnesia in the morning and they refused to change the charge to the lower rate. It made me quite angry. I want to note that the evening desk clerk was very nice and helpful and the morning desk clerk was rather nasty. I will not be staying here again. The rooms are quite nice and clean. The restaurant is abysmal. It is expensive and terrible both at the same time. Save your money and go to the McDonald's next door. It am sure it is cheaper and better.
I stay for one night, the room was average a little old, the light of the bathroom didn't work, but the bed was comfortable and just for one night I think it was good. The staff was incredible, good attitude and service. The shuttle that provides is good, they give you both ways to the airport - hotel and hotel - airport they had a schedule. Didn't had breakfast on my reservation so no comments.
Everything was great! Staff were fantastic, even got handed a free drink card on check in. Delicious breakfast. Room was large and spacious, very clean and great wifi. Great shuttle service to Schipol
I have stayed at this hotel before the staff are very helpful and my partner and i smoke, so it was nice to find a smoking room next to the bar instead of going outside it would be a good idea if more places did this yours rigby shackleton
stayed 5 nights at this hotel for a business purpose. Though my meeting was at RAI, Amsterdam, I did not face much problem in commuting to the meeting venue from the hotel. The hotel provides free shuttle bus service to the Schiphol airport Amsterdam, which is a hub of all means of transportation and shopping. I will advise the visitors to buy the 21.50 Euro 5 day (96 hr) GVB travel pass, which allows you to board all buses, trams, and intercity trains. Please keep in mind that this pass is not allowed on Sprinter trains run from Schiphol airport to other parts of Amsterdam and other Netherland cities. If you are going to RAI, go to plat form no. 1-2 take intercity train, get down at Amsterdam central and from there take metro trains. You can take frequently run buses from Schiphol to any part of the Amsterdam as well. Hence, I never felt limited as out of town. The staff is cooperative. The rooms are good but linen is not changed daily. Also do not expect moisturizer and other toiletaries. Also I realized that phone /intercom is one sided only. The front desk staff can call the room but the guest can not. Internet also gave off an on problem, but it was Okay.
Staff is not good. They behave that we did a mistake to book this hotel. Staff did not take care of there guests.. I stayed over there for 2 nights but not a single day the room is make over even after request..no water botttel is given fir 2 days even after request.. Horrible
We were early for our check in so we had to wait 1hr in the lobby for our room. Then we got into the room and not enough pillows. The 2 single beds looked like cots and so very uncomfortable. The thermostat was broken and we were told they would be back to fix it. Nobody came back. The next day I went to the front desk and then someone came to our room said they could not fix it and then offered a new room. Well we already unpacked yesterday, wish that would have been offered the day before. We will never stay at this hotel again.
I stay here monthly for business when I travel but also chose to stay here with my wife when travelling as I like the location and pricing. The free shuttle bus to and from the airport is the added bonus, plus the free wifi in the hotel is nice. The buses shut down fairly early if you like to go downtown so be careful to make it back in time or you'll have to take a taxi, or the train to Hoofdoorp if you want to walk a bit. The Mcdonalds for a snack or breakfast is very convenient as well. I have not had a good breakfast in any Amsterdam hotel so save your money there as it's also expensive.
Excellent staff, helpful and knowledgeable. Shuttle service to Schiphol on time, a very convenient alternative to Central hotel location and Perfect for overnight connection by air. Would recommend and stay again.
The check in by the staff was pleasant and courteous. I was handed free drink vouchers for my 4 night stay which was a bonus. But everything just went down hill after.... Waited 10 mins for the lift (yep only one lift). Whilst waiting it sounded like lifts were being used by the cleaner. Upon arriving to my room there were visible stains on the table and bathroom which I ended up cleaning myself. Average sized room which lacked the decor. During my stay my room was made up twice only and then after ignored. Left towels on bathroom hoping they would be changed but I guess that was too much to ask. Bathroom doors are fitted with squeky hinges and walls not sound proofed so expect to hear doors being slammed at any time of day. Room temperature dials didn't work. Doors were damaged. The hallway to the rooms are dirty. Whilst walking down instead of waiting for the elevator i noticed at each floor there was trash left by stairway. If only I took pictures of this to prove how filthy this hotel was. One has to ponder if the hotel staff or manager are paying any attention to the general state of this place. The reception seems to be over staffed, and never on one day did I see a member of staff outside of the reception area. Quite a contrast compared to my stay at the Bastion hotel (next door to this hotel - Best Western). If I was to come back it would definitely Bastion hotel and not this Best Western. Disappointed.
We decided to stay near the airport ,we looked over the internet and made a reservation . It was huge surprise to find such hotel with facilities, icluding swimming pool. . breakfast was one of the best I ate during my visit in the Nederland Holland) any one can find what he likes and more/
Woke up several times because of the airplane noise. Corridors dusty and neglegted. Room ok but outdated. Lobby smelled funky.... Onko big plus was the shuttle To airport speedy transfer To Amsterdam central
I stayed in this hotel only one night – arrived in the evening and left early morning. The hotel offers free bus transport from and to the airport every 30 minutes. In the morning the first departure from the hotel is at 6 am. The first departure from the airport is at 6:15 am. The trip takes about 7 minutes. The other positives are: free coffee/tea set (with kettle) in the room, proper wake-up call system, and free Internet. Also the rooms are spacious. And now about the reasons for which I ranked with only 2 points this hotel. General remark is that in my opinion the hotel standard is below the average of Best Western chain. And I know this standard as I have the highest level in Best Western Rewards program )Diamond Select). There are two main reasons and a few more detailed. Firstly – I have got a call to my room from outside (I waited for it). And the reception called me, asking to come to the reception (five floors down from my room and to another part of the hotel) to receive this call as they were not able to transfer this call to my room. The situation which could happen in the hotel 50 years ago but not in 21st century. And no explanation, no proposal to change the room (if this is not a general problem but the problem connected with my room), no discount proposal. Secondly – I booked the room and paid for it to the global booking portal. During check-in they asked me to pay city tax. No problem – I knew about it. After making a payment with my credit card I asked for the receipt. For me the common practice is that when I make a payment with a credit card, I receive two receipts (that I paid and that it was credit card transaction). And the lady in the reception told me that the receipt will be given to me during check-out. So next day early morning I asked for the receipt. And I didn't receive it. The another lady told me that it was not possible to give me it but she promised to sent it by e-mail. And unfortunately no surprise – 18 hours passed and no e-mail was sent to me. SO the hotel is even not able to give its customer the confirmation of a simple payment. Terrible!!! Finally about other details: (1) the bathroom should be cleaned with more attention (2) I have found a soul and shampoo but no shower gel (3) the curtain was too long so almost a whole bottom of the bathtub was covered by a curtain and additionally it was pinned only partially, (4) I have got a room with two single beds – but they were really narrow – only 80 centimeters
After almost 2 weeks business trip roaming Europe, I and few friends stayed here for last 2 nights. Another friend has recommended this place due to its accessibility to airport etc. We arrived from Rotterdam by car, arriving around 11.30AM, and rooms were not ready :) well it is normal practice though that room will be available from 2PM. We stored our luggage and walked to near by McDonalds to get our lunch and back again to get our key. Rooms were alright, spacious enough for two people with big luggage however the bed is very low (I believe it was below my knee depth level) - although it is quite comfortable. Bathroom is kind of big but very basic, the towel rack is very small. Our booking is on room only plan, the buffet breakfast cost EUR 12 or 14?? we decided to just walk to Mc Donalds and have our breakfast there for half the price, not buffet of course but just a decent menu Our disappointment only on our 2nd night, after we returned from Amsterdam (City Center) in the evening, we found our room uncleaned. we do not know why the housekeeping failed to clean our room!! It was the same state when we left our room at 10AM that morning. However when we walked down to lobby and report, the reception helped us out, providing clean towel and toilet paper etc but the bed remained untidy, we did not fuss it further as next day we are leaving already. The free shuttle to airport works well like clockwork, we always used this to airport and took train to Amsterdam.
The staff are extremely rude and unhelpful. They would give us dirty looks and make us uncomfortable. The staff claimed we hadn't booked our rooms when we had and then they claimed our agency cancelled it but no one let us know. Lack of communication. Also, they don't have a phone for international calls when we wanted to call our agency as we just traveled from the UK and they were saying we have no room to confirmed after paying for 5 prior. Also this hotel is to far from the city and the taxis in this area are a complete rip off had to pay €53 from the hotel to be city. Please stay away this hotel made our holiday a disaster and we don't want their pathetic apology.
The Airport Shuttle service was bang on time. The rooms were great !! Neat and clean and with great Wifi connection. The good thing also was that the wifi was open and no hassle for passwords. The service was also very good. What more do you want for a one night business trip of a solo traveler ?
Rooms specious with aircondition, fridge and small electric kettle :) everyday clean towells and new coffee, tea, sugar but room not cleaned in details. Quite nice swimmingpool and gym room, nice restaurant but dishes not always were clean. In the corridor stinks awful. Free shuttle to/from Schiphol Airport every half an hour. Next to Bastion Hotel and vis a vis NH Hotel. 50-100m to Mc Donald's. Not very far from bus stop.
This week we had business trip to Amsterdam. We had to meet several companies located in Schiphol area, so we looked for hotel located not far away from the airport. Best Western Amsterdam Airport Hotel was perfect choice for us - located just 10 min by car from airport terminal, with free parking just in front of hotel. Rooms were also pretty nice, so we were satisfied with our stay there.
Refrigerator was not functional and weak hot water in bathroom sink. Room was fairly clean and comfortable. Reviews require at least 200 characters. Quite ridiculous way to require feedback from customers.
will be back soon and will telling to all friends to stay at BW htl, pick up and transfer hotel to airport is very excellent , all staf so very kind, and helpfull. fast check in, and they give nice room to us who be women traveller
Terrible shuttle bus service from/to airport. I stayed for three days. According to hotel's website, they have free shuttle bus service every 30min. All 3 days, they had a 8seats' car serving both Best Western (the one I stayed) and Bastion hotel (hotel next to Best Western). The service was roughly every 30min but not in regular intervals. Thus, you didn't know when the bus was arriving to plan. Having such a tiny vehicle serving so many people from 2 hotels, means that the chance to get in the bus is tiny. All 3 days, I had to catch about the 3rd bus in the row in order to be transported - This means that you have to queue about 1-1,5 hour. In addition you will be literally squeezed with 7 other people. I reported the issue to reception - The personnel had both rude & helpful employees. The excuse was that their main shuttle bus was broken/needed repair, and we had to rely on that tiny bus. No information about that prior to my stay, no sorry for the inconvenience from the hotel stuff. Asked to leave hotel next day - they didn't bother to arrange/let me leave - I had prepaid them. I ended up paying taxi each time to get timely/safely to airport (about 20€ each ride). Keep away from this hotel no matter how cheaper is from the neighbor hotels. You will end up with stress, wasting time on transport and paying at the end more money on taxi. All other hotels in airport (Ibis, Radison, nh hotel, Ramada) have regular (about every 15min) rides with much larger vehicles. Don't destroy your vacations with this terrible shuttle bus service.
Quick and excellent service. Staff is friendly room was clean and big in size Near to air port. Shuttle service helped me a lot. Will definitely prefer this hotel for my next business visit to Amsterdam.
You get what you see at this hotel. Good easy airport shuttle service that runs every half hour, bedrooms are good size, comfortable beds, good hot showers and or bath. There is a bar and restaurant which serves a good dinner, and breakfast. Staff are friendly and very helpful. No frills. I fully recommend for an overnight close to the airport.
The staff was friendly & efficient. While the room was basic but it was adequate for short stay. Nearby to Mc Donalds if hotel food is not your liking. Otherwise hop onto the bus shuttle and be at Schipol in no time.
Asked the reception to book us a taxi ad gives us a wake up call never bothered to could have missed the flight . So rude to me and my partner never ever would I stay here again. The food was okay but front of house weren't helpful or polite ....
I needed one night with easy access to the airport - check My room was clean - check Floor was vinal wood and wrap around windows = I was chilly but slept fine Bathroom - clean (cheap feeling toilet paper) Hallway to my room = dirty! I had seen the cleaner when I checked in at 2pm...hallway was full of linens she was taking care of. Unfortunately no one ever cleaned the floor...I raised this to reception in the evening and it was still a mess in the morning. Pool was nice. Free and easy transport to/from airport.
Hotel with excellent service near the airport. Rooms are large enough to get around with your lugage. Restaurant is good and the bar friendly. The smoking lounche is great for those who smoke and don't want to freeze outside.
In general Hotel is OK and with free bus shuttle to Airport (within 10 min) it offers good Location for a short stay. The reception staff is friendly and supported us with printing the Boarding passes... Breakfast (€ 14 !) is OK but also high priced...
The place is very close to the Airport and there is a shuttle every 30 mins that comes to pick you & drop you to the airport from the hotel. The rooms are neat and clean, with a very warm and friendly reception. It is a good place for Business Travellers who want to be close to the Airport for a quick layover. There is a McDonalds right next to the hotel, so that takes care of people who may not digest Dutch food. The breakfast spread was good, and they do take care to make your stay comfortable.
we were only there to sleep so it did the trick. clean room, close to airport, free airport shuttle which is always great, and i can't remember her name but the brunette who took care of us at reception on january 31st was fantastic. she did a great job of making us feel welcome.
We had a short stay of 1 night and the hotel was just great. Not a fancy hotel but good value for the money. Nasic strange resteraunt and mcdonalds. Not much to eat in the area. If you planning to visit amsteram you will have to take a shuttle to thee airport and a train from there. Not very conftable for tourists
The hotel is amazing no word of doubt, from the reception to the swimming pool and room service. The only thing that brought them down is the food, not enough variety, very limited. As it is a hotel for tourists I would have thought they would of had more selection to suit what we usually eat. The food was over priced and the plates of food was tiny.
this is my 2nd review to this hotel .. since my last review i came back several times and was the lodging experience was the same .. until now!! 1. the room had an ongoing buzz that drove me crazy (5th floor room 5256) .. when i complained about it, they already knew the source of the noise (a problem with the ventilation) .. this kind of pissed me off as i came at 16:00 when they had many rooms available !! why assign this room to me (or to anyone) .. I was provided with a new room. 2. I had dinner at the hotel, nothing fancy but tasty .. when i was done and wanted to leave i noticed the waiter giving a nice basket of breads and butter to the table next to me. I asked why i did not get this (he forgot) 3. When i went to pay my bill .. i was charged for the complimentary drink! and i was charged for 21 euro instead of 15.5 euro the price on the menu ... they checked with the person who provided service to me that night (the service was actually good until i figured out that i missed out and was over priced) and they immediately canceled the charge for the complimentary drink but he insisted that he advised e that the charge for the meal is 21 euro and not 15.5 (i ordered from the menu) .. he remembered wrong as we did not discuss the extra charge but i was to tired to argue seriously not a relaxing experience
Best way to reach the hotel is a free hotel shuttle bus outside of Schiphol airport (signs hotel shuttle buses). In the hotel, atmosphere is good, staff is nice and professional, place is clean and dinner is quirky. Internet connection is excellent. Beds are average. Back to the dinner. Restaurant and service refers to a fine dining place. Menu don't tell much - a lot of pork in high prices. First they serve bread with excellent toppings, some herb butter and dried tomato stuff in oil and a small mixed salad (free of charge, bread is a regular breakfast roll). Main course is pub food with a fine twist. Sauerkraut, satay pork sticks and potato "knots" are placed on a plate like in fine dining. Chips comes in a cone with mayo and boiled baby carrots. The satay pork is really good. Chips were poor. Terrible part is the room with "live" air conditioning - hole at the top part of the window. Drapes were swinging in the wind and airplanes were landing or takeoffing every 15 minutes at night. A tip: bring a screwdriver to take out the part that keeps the ventilation hole open and maybe duct tape to seal it.
The hotel is easily accessible by public transportation or via the shuttle. The room was clean, spacious and luminous. Personnel is always welcoming and available. Overall I had a very good experience there.
We decided to stay at Best Western as we had an early flight out of Schiphol Airport and free shuttle service was available here. Finding the hotel was not easy. We kept seeing Bastion Hotel and only managed to spot the tiny, almost obscured ‘Best Western Hotel' sign, when we were at the entrance of the parking lot. Getting in at 10pm, check-in was fast. To be safe, we reserved seats for the shuttle service the next morning, even though reception said there was no need. When asked for directions to the lift, she said “I don't know…..”. A cold response that was not helpful at all. There was also no porter service. (Perhaps I am too used to Malaysian hospitality). The room was basic and clean, which served our purposes for a short stay, with amenities like TV, fridge, personal safe and tea making facilities. As for the twin beds, my friend had problem sleeping as he found the bed too soft. I liked the double sinks in the bathroom. The kettle however caused a black out, each time it was plugged in. As it was late, we notified reception, power was restored and we slept. The next morning, it happened again when I tried boiling water. Calling reception, I highlighted the faulty kettle and asked for the kettle to be replaced. The lights came back on, but no kettle. After waiting 30 minutes, I went down to reception and again asked for a kettle, explaining that it was so that I could have a hot drink. One of the staff said that he will come and check it out. No one came. After half an hour, I gave up and we checked out, for good. The shuttle ride was very convenient, timely and efficient. 'Nuf said.
Best Western took us in on very short notice but had everything ready when we arrived. They have a free shuttle that runs to and from the Amsterdam airport which was really convenient. The ladies at the front desk and the restaurant were all very accommodating and friendly. The beds, pillows, and comforters were very comfy.
Cons: 1) Rude reception staff. The girl looked very unhappy: when we asked her question she was unhappy to reply. 2) Outdated, really outdated rooms. 3) Windows are nailed shut (see photos), the top of the window by default is open for ventilation, be sure to close it. Pros: They have airport shuttle and kettle in the room.
I have arrived to this hotel as a "connection" by-night as I landed in schiphol very late The place is trendy and fully accesorized, nothing special but pretty decent. Desk was a bit small for my taste and I couldn't open up the computer in full. Anyway, not bad and attentive.
I booked this hotel because I had an early meeting in Hoofddorp and did not want to do a 4 hour drive in the middle of the night. Finding this hotel was already difficult. Driving into Vuursteen, you see large signs of the Bastion hotel, but no Best Western to find, after asking in a gaz station I did find the hotel, next to Bastion Hotel. When you enter the lobby you see every where the name Bastion, even on the clothes of the receptionist, Best Western is hidden. Intake at the reception was ok, the hotel however looked very used. I had a luxury room. I am still wondering where that luxury was. A room with 2 single small beds, the sheets where clean, but the room looked old and needs to be refreshed. The bathroom was large enough but only a plastic cup ad a small soap. For the rest no ameneties. I asked for something to eat in the evening and this was expensive but good. The waiters where friendly and the restaurant was nice. I also had a breakfast which was very nice. a large choice, good service, freshly prepared eggs done in the restaurant and again nice waiters. When leaving the hotel, I went to the reception, there were 3 persons in the reception, they where talking, telling each other stories, and guest could stay there and wait until they finished their story. This was unacceptable. The hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel, for me apart from the restaurant, the rest was not even a 3 star hotel. I will certainly not return to this hotel.
Convenient to depart from AMS but ALSO to visit town by train or by bus 197. This modern hotel has all the comforts you need. The service is spotty in places, maybe we were here out of season and personel was reduced, but for example the service at the bar was disrupted by duties related to replenishing brands, cleaning up, serving clients, keeping book, young and not always client-oriented personel, all of which seems to ask for the steady hand of a seasoned manager to get things running smoothly. These are not personal complaints, just observations. Your people are generally very cooperative and a treasure to your busines. We would especially mention Chantal, Kristin, the young man who made our safe work, and Jeroen, and the cleaning staff, for their positive dedication. TK
Had 12 hours transit between flights an needed a place to take a good shower and sleep. This hotel was perfect for that. Has a day-use price. The shuttle service was very punctual and convinient. Good gym room to strech out after long flights (and before...)
Simple room, no mini bar, hair dryer was out of order. Good breakfast with several selection and a dedicated "omelette" person. Airport shuttle bus was good and on-time. Good hotel to stay if you have an early flight
Good shuttlebus connections. Fast checkin. Nice, quiet, clean, large room, with tub. Comfy bed. Good selection of TV channels. Coffee and tea maker in room. Fast guest computers. Excellent breakfast selection. Dedicated chef making omelettes with good attempt at `Full English´ Well done, Best Western !!!
There were lumpy old mattresses and an unpleasant smell in the room. Besides that, for the price/location, the place was decent. The bar was nice and food was good. The shuttle buses also ran on-time.
We needed accommodations during our visit to Amsterdam, the average rate was quite pricey throughout the city and this place was a great value for what we paid. The walls are quite thin and you can hear others in your hallway when their doors slam or knocking on the door across the hallway... nothing that woke us up, though. Our room was clean and that was most important. In regards to service, I would say you get what you pay for... There is always a long line at the front desk, and our refrigerator did not work, and we were told they did not have a replacement for us that night, we ended up never getting it replaced, however they did offer to refrigerate anything for us at the front desk/kitchen area. We did not eat at the restaurant, or use the gym/pool facilities. There was usually a bit of a wait at the bar, but the bar staff was friendly. The airport shuttle operates every half hour, on the hour and 30 minutes past from the hotel, and 15 and 45 past at the airport. There are signs stating that they cannot guarantee you a seat without making reservations, but we never made reservations and did not have any issues. For transportation, we took the complimentary airport shuttle and from the airport took the intercity direct train to Amsterdam Central Station, from here you can exit and walk through the city. The fare was a little over 5 euros a person, one way, and the train is direct (no stops). Trains are supposed to run 8 per hour, however for part of our stay they were reduced to 4 per hour (for reasons unstated) so they ran less often and were more crowded. One day on the way back to the hotel, our train was cancelled and we had to wait 45 minutes. Of course, this has nothing to do with the hotel - just know that the train system in Amsterdam is not the most reliable (based on our experience) and you may encounter some delays if you rely on this mode of transportation. We were also able to successfully use Uber a few times to and from the hotel for a reasonable rate (30-35 euros to the southern side of the city, one way). The time it took to commute to the city was a little bit of a bother, but to be expected due to the location, and worth the savings in the room rate. We actually preferred staying outside of the busy tourist areas. The McDonald's that you can walk to from the parking lot was quite handy. Overall - I would sum up this hotel as basic, don't expect much - but I don't understand why you would for the price :) It serves its purpose as a clean, mostly quiet place to sleep and take a shower. Better than what I expected for a Best Western and definitely nicer than the ones I have stayed in the US.
Being stranded at Schiphol Airport because of fog, we were put up in this hotel. The staff were clearly overwhelmed by the number of guests they had to process in a short time, but in general they coped. The evening meal was atrocious, and there was no choice whatsoever, as the kitchen was unable or not prepared to make the effort of a meal that could be enjoyed after being in queues for about 5 hours at the airport. The room was OK-ish, poor airconditioning, no heating, so I did not sleep very well, apart from the fact that it was noisy.... On the positive side: The breakfast was very good, a sharp contrast to the evening food. Staff was now more willing to help, and the shuttle to the airport was quick and easy. All in all, not a hotel I would like to stay in for more than one night.....
Service is good, they provide free shuttle every 30 mins to Schiphol airport. Room was average. Fine for just sleeping, but I was able to connect to wifi with one device only. When connection with second device (handy) first one (notebook) disconnected in the same time.
Very nice room ..breakfast ok ..only the service was not really impressive . Receptionist looked really bored and not friendly . We have been there for 5 night and I did not see all of them smile or say a goodmorning or whatsever ..very weird !!! Restaurant and housekeenping staff doing good work ..
There is a shuttle bus that takes you from the Schiphol airport to the hotel, that's very convenient. If you have to leave the hotel at say 3 o' clock in the morning, the hotel can always call a cab (you should tell the receptionist this when you arrive), so that's great. I liked the hotel because I could make use of a spacious room with very good wifi connection, so I could work well. Nice interior. Friendly staff. I'd recommend it as an airport hotel.
I was in the best western amsterdam airport On the 19th of October room 2027. I got robed by the hotel staff. I had my notebook stolen from a locked bag. This hotel is being operated by crooks. I am 100% sure that the manager is not aware of this fact and when I wanted to call the police they tried to stopped me. Finally they were saying that I am making this up and that I never had a notebook. Which I can prove that I had. Tried twice to get from the police an English form to report the theft but though I was giving them my email, they never sent me the form. Dutch police my oh my ,I even told them that they should search my stuff so that I have a ground that I don't have my pc anymore. Crooks, crooks crooks....stay away!!!!
Relatively close to airport with free shuttle service every half hour. Stayed here, took shuttle to airport and then caught the train to downtown Amsterdam. This is the best way to visit downtown. After paying 45Euro for downtown parking, I left the rental car at the hotel. Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was big, clean and quiet. Great room for the rate. Would stay again
My second time here, room is clean and adequate for one night. Good shuttle service from airport, every 30 minutes. Hallway feels like a prison, dark and sometimes the light sensors do not turn on. Free wifi in rooms plus a coffee maker..
This hotel is a few minutes, free shuttle ride from the Amsterdam airport. The rooms are well lit, comfortable and clean with a small fridge and in-room coffee maker. There is also a restaurant and bar on-site. We stayed here our last night in Amsterdam. We checked in and dropped our bags, then took our rental car just down the road to a convenient gas station to top the tank, before returning it to the airport car rental drop-off area. From there, we walked a short distance to the arrival and departure hall where the Best Western/Bastion shuttle awaited, promptly returning us to the motel. We used the shuttle again early the next morning for our flight home. We would give this property a five star rating except that the reception staff both coming and going was not very friendly or helpful in answering our questions about the shuttle location at the airport, and were somewhat confrontational about settling the bill at checkout (which had been prepaid in full).
Asked 3 times for quiet room - did not get one. Not really sound proof windows in this locarion and noisy hotel. Bed was broken. Once going into pool and fitness area there was no chance to get out again (card reader failed), no one fixed it. Pool area is a mess in the morning - no cleaning befor opening. Got wrong invoice when checking out - incapable reception staff. Worst experience ever.
We booked a very short stay at this hotel (from 18:00 to 01:00 the next morning) because of ridulously early flight. The room was adequate, clean and bed comfortable. Toiletries and towels a bit basic but we were paying basic money! However... we needed to eat and went down to the restaurant where we ordered a starter and a main course each. We should have been forewarned when our starters took at least half an hour to be delivered to our table... they were fine to eat. Another half hour after we had finished our starters the main courses arrived.... my husband's was fine but my medum/well steak looked and tasted like a beef joint that had been cooked and re-cooked and re-cooked agin for the past few days! I asked the waitress (only one waitress on and trying her hardest) to take it back and show the chef. She came back and said that they were doing another one..... My husband had finished his main course at least 30 - 35 minutes befoire my second steak arrived! and without the sauce which took another 10 minutes to get to me!! My meal was passable but only just. In retrospect we should have walked out after waiting for an hour.... but Brits you see... I should have also refused to pay for my meal but again I was tired and didn't really have the energy to do this at 1am in the morning. I will be writing an official letter of complaint to Best Western.
Really I had a GREAT stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room great value for money. There is a pleasant bar and restaurant just off the lobby, and a grand piano that guests can play at will. The hotel has a shuttle bus every 30 minutes to the airport terminal, and the journey only takes five minutes. All in all it's a very good option for an overnight stay near the airport. Finally for those that like planes, the hotel has GREAT views of the runway...!
This hotel is NOT called Best Western Amsterdam Airport Hotel. The name on the builiding is Amsterdam Airport Hotel. It is not the only hotel with that name in the greater Schiphol area. The entrance is located hidden between the hotels own building and another hotel. The Best Western logo is in front and behind the large name above the door, but you cannot see it in the dark from the street. There is no lit up sign pointing to the hotel or the parking lot entrance. I live in the Netherlands, my NavSystem told me I had arrived, but I could not find the place. We doubled back and missed it again (even harder to find/see from that direction) and then recognized the entrance (mostly obscured by a bus) from the website photo. At the desk the staff did not correct a man who clearly jumped the line. That should not be the customer's job. Three gals working, only one of them helping customers; one was on the phone. Not sure what #3 was doing. This was irritating. The room was fantastic but hard to cool off. The AC turns off when the outdoor temp is above 18. Window opens but lets in traffic and airplane noise. Not handy. One sink did not drain well, but there were 2 sinks. Shower water pressure was low (on 5th floor). Shuttle service to Schiphol was on time, enough room and a quick ride. Dropped my wife of and took the shuttle back to the hotel and our car. Great way to travel.
When i booked this hotel I was promised a double bed room as seen in the photos with modern wallpaper and a 4 star looking room. When me and my boyfriend arrived our room was a twin in an old 2 star decor with single bedlinen and a leaking bathroom. Staff were rude and very helpful saying they didn't do rooms with double beds despite the images on there website of double bed rooms. I was told I hadn't paid for a 'deluxe' room despite my last minute.com booking stating 1 deluxe room-double. The hotel is a good distance from the airport but too far from the city if your on a city break. The shuttle bus is good and was normally on time but this hotel is certainly not a 4 star. The hotel felt old, worn and always smelt of food. Would not recommend unless you can get a cheap deal to stay conveniently for one night, alone.
I checked in i had no TV and no lights. The staff is unfriendly and very upset the second night my bathroom flooded i called down to reception and they never came to my room i cleaned it up which took all my towels then they never cleaned my room and when I had a complaint the lady hung up on me! They refused to resolve the problems.
The room is satisfactory; shower is great! Was not impressed with the silver fish in the bathroom however only saw one. Buffet Breakfast was good with lots of choices although coffee machine was not working well. Dinner was adequate but nothing special. Shuttle service worked well. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel info book in room needs to be updated as doesn't reflect reality. Enjoyed the pool until we tried to leave and none of the doors would open with our e-keys!!! No phone in pool nor fitness area so could not contact desk - had to "escape" through outside door then walk around the outside of the building to get back to main part of hotel - NOT impressed!!!
Excellent stay. Friendly & helpful staff, well organised and great facilities. I would have quite happily given five stars if the dinner menu was just a little bit better. Perfect location for the airport and reliable punctual shuttle service.
we stayed here just one night before flying to Canada . It was very clean friendly and quiet ( late at night ) . The restaurant was good every thing you could want for breakfast . Would definitely stay again .
Great location if you don't want to be right in the centre of things as can get very busy but at the same time only a free shuttle and train ride away from all main attractions in Amsterdam central. Stayed for 2 nights and rooms were clean, modern and comfy. Was concerned we might get separate beds from other reviews but was delighted to find a spacious double upon arrival. Very little to complain about and only issue I did have was addressed straight away.
I stayed at this hotel twice both overnight for connecting flights into Europe. Staff are very good, helpful and all speak English. Security good, to access your floor level, requires your room card to open door to level you are on. Hotel showing its age, but I hear the renovations are ongoing. Rooms are basic clean, bed comfortable, quiet and aircraft noise is not an issue and good value compared to other hotels in the area. Did not try breakfast or evening restaurant, Hoofddorp town centre approx. 30 minute's walk or 10 minutes by taxi where there is several restaurants. If you need basic items BP Service Station is 10 minutes' walk from hotel or use supermarket at airport. MacDonald's is also next door. Free Shuttle from and too airport. Free WIFI. I would defiantly stay at this hotel again for flight connections.
The room was clean and the staff very professional. The hall is big and you have lcd monitors all around and sofas. You can also play the piano if you can! The best bit it's the totally free dedicated shuttle bus which goes back and forth between the airport and the hotel every 30 minutes.
If you want a reasonably priced hotel, basic, but clean and includes a decent breakfast then this is the hotel for you. A free shuttle runs from School to the hotel approximately every 15-30 mins, which save you a fair bit on taxis. It's a fair trek from Amsterdam centre, but from the airport you can jump on a train and be there in about 20 mins, a return day ticket cost €14. We stayed here to attend a wedding at Papas Beach House, which is on the Hoofdorp, I would definitely recommend a visit here, set on a beautiful lake, serving good food, if the weather is good its the perfect place to take a dip. A very different feel to that of Amsterdam central.
I travel allot and the location of this hotel was excellent. Maybe the rooms can be modernized a bit but I really don't have much to complain about or comment on. Dinner menu could do with more options but food quality and service was good. All staff was friendly and helpful.
