Best Western Hotel de la Cite and Spa

Good hotel. It's located in a suburb, some 3 km to the old town. Very nice front desk staff. The room was of good size, clean, quiet, with all amenities.

In addition to the basic quality, I was very impressed by the proper attention to detail, such as cleaning and bed making. It can be said that this is a hotel that has essentially high quality that cannot be felt in recent hotel stays after the corona whirlpool.

This hotel can be considered good enough for a short stay. There is a wheelchair accessible room and all the hotel in general is wheelchair accessible. The room was spacious. The air condition was making big noise so you had to turn it off in order to sleep. The staff does not speak English. The breakfast was really good and with big variety. The location is quite far from the city centre and is better to take the car especially at night where there is no one in the streets. During the day it might be a nice walk.

Convenient room nothing more than expected and nothing less expected. Night staff was friendly to check in but the day staff during the staff was grumpy and attitude. Breakfast was normal but the breakfast kitchen lady was very helpful asked what I need. The hotel should hire a people who like a breakfast staff. PS : the lady who work reception In the morning on 24 March 2018 can be fire as she attitude really cannot accept.

A massive room. Very clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Really good wifi reception and an excellent heated swimming pool. Just 10 minutes walk into the medieval city. Loads of car parking. Very comfy and very big beds. Very quiet room. Definitely recommend. Breakfast is very expensive though at 12 euros per person per night. 5 euros would have been better. McDonald's across the road was cheaper. Paper cups for coffee in the room was disappointing

Although with a nice location, this hotel is not to recommend. The staff does not speak any language other than French, which makes it a difficult stay for a tourist, no help can be expected either regarding the hotel nor the city surroundings. Moreover we were yelled at by the receptionist when coming home after our dinner in town, apperantly we were laughing too loudly. We also were woken up by someone smoking in the corridor. The pool was nice, and clean.

The hotel is modern, set on the outskirts but within easy reach of the small town of Guerande, famous for its salt industry. The room was quite comfortable and the hotel features a swimming pool which was appreciated by families with small children.

I arrived yesterday morning after driving through the night from the UK. I asked in reception what time check in was and was told it was 3 o'clock, but the really kind lady made one phone call to see if my room was ready and I was straight in! Fantastic customer service, thank you. The room was fine, a best western room, coffee and tea in the room and the bed was great. Free parking, I didn't have breakfast as I slept in! But, I did see it and smelt the coffee and it all looked good. I did book a premium, pool view room, but to be honest I'm not sure what the premium was for as I'm sure the other rooms are of a similar standard. My only negative was the price, I knew it when I booked it, I know, but for 81 euros for 1 person for 1 night seemed a little bit steep. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to others. It is a "casual" 10 minutes stroll to the old town where there are plenty of cafes and restaurants

Went and stayed there on a 5 day cycling trip. Hotel had everything, Pool, beer and a decent breakfast. Its pretty close to the main cite 5 mins walk though the streets. Great value and well maintained too.

Hotel small and central. No lift to second floor! Used garage - OK at E10 per night. Breakfast good. Near chateau. Excellent restaurant within the building but not part of the hotel - very good meal at very fair price. Drove to Mont San Michel. easy drive

The rooms are all 2-person but our party of 3 got two connected rooms, which worked very well and paid for a "family room". There was reasonable space in the room, which was decorated in a very bland way but with pictures inspired by the salt marshes that made Guérande famous - think: big hotel chain adds local touches. Clean and tidy, wifi was ok but we had to keep on logging in. We were provided one code per device right from the start, but even so just the time to write an email could be long enough for the system to log off. Location was good, only 15 minutes walk to the centre, but a very boring industrial and residential area with no eating choices, so you had to take the walk. No end of good places to eat in Guérande though! The fitness room was in the basement, very dark, but there were exercise bikes and a weights machine, and a tv. We didn't try the pool. Breakfast was ok, with locally produced and organic jams, cheeses etc, but the coffee was not impressive.

The hotel is not in the historical center of Guerande but it's well positioned as a starting point for trips all around the zone. Anyway you may go to the center with a 15 minute walk or by car. A free parking is available and we had no problem with the car. Room was ok, not extremely large but quite functional and with a nice modern style well maintained furniture. Bathroom was ok (with separated WC). Free Wi-fi connection available, complimentary coffee set and mineral water on arrival. We didn't try swimming pool and gym.

Perfect room with all amenities, lovely big bed spotlessly clean and comfy. However, breakfast was questionable in as much as although continental there was no means at all for cooking anything. The boiled eggs already shelled were like rubber and cold,( I assume bought in, in that state ) and put out I guess day after day until used. The scrambled egg was a packet mix , pretty awful . Upon asking if we could have a hot boiled egg we were told they dont have the facility to do so. The Madeira cake was like sawdust , which no-one ate and yet was brought out sliced day after day, uncovered and dryed out. Fresh bread was lovely and there was a plate of cold meat, but we were dubious about eating it. Lovely jams and butter and yoghurts and croissants. But simple good eggs let them down. As a continental breakfast is was ok , but a little disappointing. We came down for breakfast on one occasion , just 3 of us at 9am and nothing was put out, , we had to wait while the food was then put on the buffet , before we could eat. Not a good holiday atmosphere, perhaps better for business only.

Stayed here on business for 1 night in November 2012. This is a very modern (fairly new at a guess) hotel of a high quality. Rooms were really comfortable, massive bed, TV, Wifi etc. Food next door in the "Brasserie" was also really good. Standard continental breakfast. No traffic noise in the room due to the decent glazing. The only negative was the shower - no power to it at all!
