Best Western Plus Hotel Stofella

I'm a Best Western Diamond Level member and I was happy to book this hotel on a recent visit to Guatemala City. The hotel was very busy but the staff were friendly and attentive. We had a salad at the restaurant located on the property , it was fresh and delicious. Our server was Otto, he was new, but he was excellent and our food order served promptly. The room was very clean and modern. We were very pleased and would recommend it to any of our friends. The location is especially good. It is in the heart of Zone 10, central to numerous excellent restaurants, business addresses, and the airport. We loved it and are grateful to the staff for their professional service.

Excellent all round stay staff very friendly plus English speaking staff available as my Spanish is woeful room very good clean and tidy bedding changed every day. Location very good right in middle of zone 10 near to places with In walking distance of shops and restaurants also the Oakland Mall just down road. Breakfast good plenty of choice for a good start of the day. The gym is small but has enough equipment to get a workout plus a rack of free weights overall everything good would stay again

Nice hotel near lots of restaurants and shops, also about 15 minutes away from the airport. The staff is very helpful and willing to solve any problems in a positive manner. The restaurant staff was nice also and the breakfast was very good, would stay here again.

This was a very convenient overnight stop before an early morning flight. The staff were great and arranged to-go lunch boxes and a taxi for our 3:30am departure to the airport which was only 10 minutes away. Lots of western and fast food options within a five minute walk including Applebys, TGIF, MacDonalds, Burger King and Pappa Johns. Lots of other hotels in the neighbourhood, but Best Western offered the best price for our overnight purposes.

My husband and I stayed here in December 2022 and when we arrived we were put in a room just behind the front desk. The room was the size of a closet facing a brick wall! Definitely not the room we booked which was a standard room. When we asked to get another standard room we were told it was fully booked and had to pay an extra $20 American!! With no choice and being tired after 2 flights we paid the extra fee. We booked this hotel months ago as we were there for a wedding. The room we got after paying an additional 20 dollars was nothing great and located by the hallway near the elevators and stairs. All night and early morning we could hear people walking and talking. There is a reason hotel hallways have carpeting!!! Plus! The hotel was definitely not fully booked as we noticed the next day. We stayed there the last night here as well as it was already booked and this time ended up in a tiny room with a window facing inside the hallway and the restaurant. So if our curtains were open people could literally look inside! Just crazy. Overall, the hotel is in a very good and safe location. Its clean and most staff are very nice. Be aware of this shady business. This is how the front desk staff are making extra money on the side and cheating you!

We arrived at the hotel after our long flights, and found a small, well appointed hotel in the middle of the commercial district. It was our introduction to Guatemala. The staff were very helpful. Our group stayed on the 4th floor; some had an exterior view, others did not, but that was not important. The bathrooms were well equipped with thick wonderful towels, bathrobes and amenities. The rooms were well lit, the beds comfortable with several pillows. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with fresh fruit, eggs of your choice, porridge, fried plantains, refried beans, juice, and plentiful coffee and tea. Altogether, we stayed 3 nights at the hotel and were very satisfied with the service. On our return trip, some of us used the 4th floor lounge, which served a modified breakfast and late afternoon coffee and tea.

On the 13th July I stayed with my family at Best Western Stofella in Guatemala City. I had booked a triple room with exterior views at a cost of 90USD. I was given instead a tiny room that could have well been the broom room in the past, with no windows, and with the door directly opening to the breakfast/rest area which ensured noise from 6:00 to 23:00 and gave no privacy at all. When asked at the reception whether we could have a room similar to the one in the pictures of our reservation I was replied I could for an additional price. I really feel fooled for the price I paid and feel the room description isn't accurate nor honest. Futhermore and previously this bad experience I had booked another night on 22th july at the same hotel. The booking machine assigned me one smoking room. In the remarks I suggested to the hotel whether it was feasible to have a NON smoking room. The answer from the staff was that I had to pay and extra of 23 $. After the first bad experience I cancelled the second booking. Everything is documented from my part. I asked explanations to the hotel but no one from this organization did not take the trouble to respond me. I strongly do not recommend this hotel at all

I'm currently staying at the Best Western hotel...it's awesome and great to have some English speaking individuals to exchange words with though most of them speaks Spanish. The room wasn't so fancy, however I gotta say in a cold environment the water system is amazing, quick water heating and a amazing electric system that operates by just leaving your door card in the system by the door and it give the room it's electricity. Apart from that experience. Great employees and a wonderful chef and great servers. Would be 5star if they actually have bilingual employees but thanks to Google translation all went well.

The hotel itself is fine, reasonably close to the airport; this is essential due to the horrific traffic during rush hours in this overcrowded city. But Do Not Eat here. Their restaurant is likely to become known as Worst Western Plus soon. With a limited menu, you'd think their cooks could handle the entrees, but that is not the case--they are incompetent and amateurish at best. We attempted to order pizzas but after a few minutes were told we'd have to wait 2 hours since the oven was broken. So we ordered some pasta entrees listed, and were served inaccurate items and very poorly prepared food. Stay here if you want, but eat at one of the nearby chain restaurants instead. The Best Western chain will truly be ashamed if they check out their restaurant on this property.

it was terrible experience. room was second floor . View was nothing but most terrible thing was it is gym view. I didn't aware someone in the Gym can see my room. Nobody informed to me. after wake up in the morning I found someone can see my room in the Gym. Restaurant was small and staffs was nice but food was terrible. Cook didn't know how can cook Omelet and food was not filled on time. Air conditioner was not work well also.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable hotel. Centrally located in Guatemala City, minutes to the airport and within walking distance of a great variety of restaurants and shopping. Parking on site. 24 hour security. English speaking staff is attentive to whatever you might need. Comfortable beds, super hot showers, good WiFi. Definitely recommend for families and both business and leisure travelers.

Every time I visit Guatemala City I stay in this Hotel, I like the service of the nice and kind staff, and the Hotel is near to many places of interest, airport, malls and restaurants, and is located in a very safe zone.

Love this hotel! It is like home away from home! Have been staying here since 2006 and they have maintained their consistency. The hotel has great water pressure, and it gets super hot if you want it to. The included continental breakfast is sufficient and the hotel staff are kind and warm. If you need to park your car or microbus, its is under camera security and the bellhop is always a few feet away 24/7. This hotel often times has prices that dip unusually low (especially during the COVID-19 chaos), and sometimes you can't believe the price you pay. It is a very clean and elegant hotel with touch of nostalgia and history.

I like this hotel. It is convenient and close to everything I need. Rooms are always clean. They even helped me to sort out an issue with an online travel company, Ex***** whom did everything they could to not give me my money back for a (mistake) double booking. I tried immediately to correct it but finally boxed them into a corner enough to have them finally agree to cancel after countless phone calls over 17 days. Upon check in, I found they didn't even bother to cancel the double booking which made them look even more disingenuous. Thank you Hotel Stofella . Sorry for the double booking

The hotel is located in Zona 10, close to restaurants (there is a McDonals next door and a San Martin a block away), shopping centers and the Avenida Reforma street. They let us check in early, the front desk was really nice to accommodate us, we were tired from a long trip and had our baby with us. Room Service and breakfast is not the best, I recommend you get a room without breakfast included and eat outside. The hotel is very cozy, very comfortable beds and the rooms are very cozy. They also let you print bus or flight tickets at no charge, I printed like 10 pages and they did not charge me. I recommend this hotel.

When we arrived at the hotel we were very well received. Check in was quick and the front desk staff was very attentive, giving directions on where we wanted to go. Our beautiful colonial-style room was clean, comfortable, but on the first floor and had no lift. I've been thinking: when we made the reservation we were not asked if we had limitations to climb stairs. When I asked if we could have a room without climbing stairs, they said yes, but it would cost 10 US dollars. The night was horrible, because the hotel is on the route of planes that arrive and leave the airport, and fly very low. In addition there was the noise of a party with very loud sound and explosions of fireworks, until 4:00 in the morning. Breakfast is reasonable, but there was a group playing very loud local music, not allowing conversation. The restaurant staff are also friendly and attentive.

I have stayed here many times passing through Guatemala City. The location is good and I feel safe here. This time some of the staff was accommodating, but others were a little icy and put off by questions. My room was a little bit overlooked. I had no coffee for the coffeemaker. I also stepped on somebody's fake nail that was left on the floor. The breakfast has always been good, but the guy making cook to order eggs repeatedly shook the tip can at me and the other guests, which was extremely obnoxious and off-putting. Rooms can be a bit noisy depending on where you end up.
