The hotel room was clean and the beds were very comfortable with the best pillows ever. The only thing I felt wasn't fair was the price. You could stay across the street, on the bay for the same price, at a Hilton. The outside of the hotel wasn't the cleanest and the breakfast room was very small, crowded and packed. But, we stayed there because the rest of our family was staying there from out of town for a wedding. Nice hotel, just overpriced!!
I am a Best Western Rewards member because these hotels are always consistent in quality. This facility was not. Everything worked in the room, although the furniture and furnishings were tired and cheap. The room was listed as "No Smoking" , but it smelled strongly of smoke. Check-in was listed as 4:00pm. Although there were rooms available, the desk clerk said if we checked in early (1:00pm to 4:00pm) there would be an additional $25.00 charge, this in addition to our nightly charge of $340.00. I travel extensively world-wide, and have never been charged to check in early if rooms were available. The fact that I am a Rewards member and the room was quite pricey for the quality, made no difference. Don't stay here.
Room smelled like cigarette smoke initially but overall it was clean and has a good location around the local restaurants. Staff was friendly throughout the stay and accommodated some other families with early check in. The price gets you what you should expect, but overall I would stay here again.
Nice location, some good restaurants close by. Great staff, very accomodating ,allowed early check in inclement weather. Room was adequate with good facilities like kettle ,fridge and tv. Very quiet at night time, comfortable bed. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. Would recommend.
Clean and comfortable. Coffee maker, fridge and microwave in the room. Nice big TV. Located in a nice area. Plenty of parking. Tonya at the front desk was very helpful in finding us a room when we checked in late, just needing a place to sleep for a night. I would stay here again if in the area and in need of a room.
the beds were very comfortable. Room is very clean , coffee maker, fridge, microwave, a plus is a working freezer for cold packs Front desk woman & breakfast room staff very pleasant. We enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is so convenient to dining places, My 4th or 5th stay at this hotel & I will definitely return
Our room was very nice & very clean! Loved having a Fridge & a Microwave. The beds super comfortable and the free breakfast was quite good. The front desk personnel were friendly and professional. Next time we will try out the indoor pool & Sauna. This is our 2nd time staying here & we'll be back again in the fall
Manager Mark and Staff person Tammy went over and above to assist us at check in. I used a free night and when I booked through the rewards office I would have had to change rooms after the 1st night. I was able to be assigned a room that I could stay in all weekend! Fabulous! The rooms are very clean. The pool and hot tub are awesome! I love this hotel!
Very comfortable, clean room with chairs on the balcony to sit and enjoy the bay view. It's within walking distance to some evening life, also. The people at the front desk are very pleasant, and the breakfast buffet was surprisingly diverse.
We had a great stay at the Best Western on Kent Island. I would have preferred better breakfast offerings, however, the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and very comfortable, and the location close to restaurants, water, and the cross-island trail was ideal!
A very clean room and bathroom! The dispensers were a plus with hand soap and moisturizer. Bath/shower dispensers with a good quality shampoo and conditioner. The breakfast was ok..suggestions..coffee was weak, make it stronger, presentation of a product is important, up the breakfast room, do a continental breakfast also, yogurt, a variety of fruit, croissants, etc. Not everyone eats a hearty breakfast..present your eggs, bacon, sausages in a more tasteful appearance. Your staff was very courteous and professional. I highly recommend your hotel!
Great location. The breakfast bar was impressive, with a large selection. The room seemed recently redecorated, and was clean and comfortable. The bathtub was a little slippery, and I almost fell getting out. The hotel is set up a little strangely, with the elevator at the far end.
The additional $25 charge for checking in 25 mins before 3 was not cool when the room already at $325 a night was ready and available. We were part of a large room block for a wedding in town and it was unnecessary. Otherwise things were ok and the basic needs of cleanliness kf a standard motel were met.
Nicely appointed room. Good supply of amenities. Good hot breakfast, surprising food variety. Front desk clerk gave us a room with a great. Wonderful location. Within easy walking distance of several good restaurants. Would stay again.
Hotel needs a little fixing up but other than that its a nice place. Not much else to say but they said it has to beb200 characters. The area and location are great. Staff is very friendly. Free continental breakfast is good. Again that about sums it up.
Very clean hotel with a great location. Walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Great time until the last night when the people in the room beside us decided to pull a noisy all nighter, which isn't the hotels fault. Other than that we had a great time. Very friendly staff too.
The room was very clean and neat. Rooms smelled good. My only issue with the room was the bed. The bed had a dip in the middle. May be time to put new mattresses on the beds. Customer Service was good by staff checking in. The evening staff were not friendly. Did not look up, was more interested in looking at the phone. Otherwise we had a good stay.
Great location. Reasonable price. Unfortunately, only got to enjoy breakfast once as I had to depart at 5:30am. I will stay here again when I return to the area. Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked well. Decent television options. Convenient to most things on island.
Front desk clerk was personable and helpful. Room was clean. Hotel close to the Jetty and the Fisherman's Inn Restaurant. Reasonable rates. Nice breakfast in the morning. I like the snack shack for those late night munchies. Pool was nice and clean.
We stay every year at this hotel and have never been disappointed. Front desk friendly, room extremely clean with frig and microwave, bay side rooms have beautiful view. Bike/walking trail nearby. Great restaurants /nightly entertainment.
The staff were friendly and professional, the room was clean, breakfast was wonderful both days and the price was right! Location was perfect for our visit, guaranteeing we will return! We booked directly with the hotel ensuring no issues! Thank you!!!
We were pleasantly surprised by the location of this hotel relative to water activities and restaurants. Rooms had outside access. Floors were vinyl and clean. Our room wasn't huge but it was fine for our short stay. I wish there was a night stand next to each side of the queen beds. The sink area was in the room, not in the bathroom. It had a very bright light that could not be dimmed. There was no bedside light there. Breakfast room was busy but met our needs with a variety of hotel-fare breakfast offerings. We would stay here again.
Room was clean, bed comfortable. The. Breakfast was basic not worth it . I wasn't expecting the door to open with windows so people could see into your room. Hence you have to keep the blinds closed so it's dark I supposed for the price it's ok for two days
Great value. Clean property, Friendly Staff. Awesome location. Pet friendly. Good amenities. Clean room, comfortable beds. Will book again. Conveniently located off Route 50 in Queens Anne County. Older property but well maintained. Nice wildlife around the property.
We stayed for 2 nights in June. The room was very clean. There were good options for breakfast. We had a room facing the bay which I would highly recommended as there was a nice breeze, even on several very hot days. The location was perfect for walking to many local restaurants.
Heads up - we were charged $25 to check into our room before 3 p.m. That was an unexpected expense. The air conditioner was noisy & prevented us from getting a good night sleep. That is our only complaint. Directly across the street is a seafood restaurant called "Fisherman's Inn." We walked over & had a delicious meal.
GREAT LOCATION WITH WONDERFUL SITTING AREA OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR. DESIGNED LIKE THE OLD TIME MOTELS, WHERE YOU ACCESS YOUR ROOM FROM AN OUTSIDE WALKWAY. QUIET, EASY PARKING, GREAT ACCESS TO LOCAL RESTAURANTS, AND PROVIDED WELL MAINTAINED COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST WITH LOADS OF CHOICES AND PLENTY OF SEATING.
I would have given our stay five stars but there were a couple of small hiccups. We purposely booked this hotel for the pool and hot tub. The pool was great but we had a horrible experience with the hot tub. WAY too much chlorine. We the jets came on we were overwhelmed by the chlorine. I mean airway and eyes burning. We got out quickly and did not go back. The sauna is not on so you have to wait for the room to heat. Suggest you turn it on when you get in the pool so it will be warm when you get out of the pool. It never did get hot. Outside of the hot tub/sauna issues, it was a wonderful stay. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, nice selection for breakfast and best of all very friendly staff. I loved the chairs on the balcony and smart TV. The hotel is conveniently located across from great restaurants and close to the Bay. We spent most of our stay at Matapeake Beach. It was wonderful!
The evening hostess was incredible and very helpful with suggesting sites to see and things to do. The pillows were fantastic and we were hoping to find a tag so we could order some for ourselves 😊 The room was clean and ample supply of towels and was clothes.
Beautiful location, friendly staff. Pay the extra for a bayside room. Some of the best sunsets ever. Great seafood, waterfront restaurants within walking distance. Annapolis just over bay bridge. Near Queenstown outlets. Best priced hotel in immediate area.
The front desk associates were super friendly! Check in was easy and quick and the amenities were very nice for this price point. The hotel was located within walking distance of several restaurants and bars. I was traveling with a friend and we felt safe and secure staying at this location. Parking was accessible to the room as well. I would definitely Book this hotel again!
We are from Baltimore and stayed here for a short vacation to celebrate Spring/Summer. The room was clean, the breakfast was great, the staff was friendly, and we had a nice view of the south side of Kent Narrows :-). I didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and is a nice size. For the cost, I thought that this place was a great value.
Stayed for a wedding at the beach club, this was an easy drive to the venue and the used the Jetty for the afterparty right by the hotel. Big clean rooms. Good breakfast buffet.
Staff was very professional and accommodating to our needs. The complimentary breakfast was very good.
After making the drive from Hyannis MA, I needed a place for the night and as always Best Western didnt disappoint. Bed was comfy, hotel was quiet, parking was easy in and out, and the room had plenty of hot water and the breakfast was amazing! A real breakfast no less!
Great location for seafood dining nearby and light biking on the Cross Island Trail. Motel is maintained very well and the staff are friendly. I have stayed here before and will stay here again. This is padding to reach 200 characters, .....
Worst experience ever checked in after midnight no heat in room ,microwave had no power either did the mini refrigerator went back to desk she said she called the manager would not give me a different room .Was on the highway side was so loud could not sleep and was freezing would not recommend this place to no one
Easy check in and out. Comfy bed but loved the hot tub most after a day in Annapolis. Breakfast was amazing. No complaints for a quick overnight while traveling. Safe location and lots of great restaurants for dinner nearby. Would stay again.
This is a great place to take kids... we swam in the pool sat in the hot tub and enjoyed the entire stay. We went to Jetties for dinner and had our parents meet us at the hotel and rent a room. Just a great day we went walking on the boardwalk. Overall just wonderful.
Hotel is what one would expect of a Best Western. It is kind of dated. New vinyl plank fllors in room. Room was clean. Room comes with coffee maker and microwave and refrigerator. Breakfast was fantastic. Excerside room needs some TLC and is very small. TV did not have a signal, so I went without. The quiet was refreshing anyway. Apparently the system was recently updated and they jave an issue now and the with wires getting moved when the room is being cleaned. Was not a major issue though. I had a room on the side looking over the Bay. The other side faces Route 50 which can be a bit noisy. My room was quiet. Customer Service/Front Desk was very friendly and accommodating.
very comfortables room ,the supply in the was more than I expected , Im an addict to coffee and you serve good coffee breakfast was a lot choices overall everything meet more than I expected bed pillow were very fluffy ,even the room was big thanks keep the good work
Our stay was average due to the floor in 305 wasn't the safest for sure. It kept popping up and created a trip hazard. Everything else went well the staff was on point and helped us with everything we needed. I would have performed the elevators in a better location. We used the stairs the rest of the trip.
My only complaint would be that my girlfriend got bug bites over her entire body. I think it came from the extra pillows I received from the front desk. Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was better than expected and the staff was super friendly.
Our stay was nice, rooms were clean, and comfortable. Staff was nice however, we had a grandchild in a wheelchair. Our room which was on the ground floor was great however, it was in the back of the hotel with no wheelchair access to the sidewalk to get to the room. The only wheelchair access was around the front of the building. For safe access we would have had to unload him in the front and walk around the building to the back since all rooms open from the outside.
Outstanding place to stay for the price! Wonderful pool, spa and sauna. The pool water was also a perfect temperature! The hotel is walking distance to restaurants….and they allow dogs: ). We get the room on the bayside and it's a nice view. Breakfast is also good.
Had requested handicapped room bit sent to wrong room on arrival, . Front desk clerk then looked at reservation and we had to walk with luggage to correct room (both of us disabled). In handicapped room TV was not working. Went to call front desk but phone didn't work. Maintenance got phone working but had no TV rest of night. Went to hot tub but water level too low. Jets were slightly above water level so water was being splashed everywhere. Not relaxing at all. Reserved 3 nights but checked out next day due to poor service. First night paid for with points but still charged $120 on final folio. Despite all the failures not one employee managed to say "I'm sorry". Will send email to hotel manager to contest charge for unused nights. Worst hotel stay in over 50 years of both national and international travel.
Greeted nicely with and easy checking. Desk person (never told us her name) was very good. Gave us water and gave us room key. We were on road side but next to two women who talk loudly and until later evening. Place was clean and looked good. Room was very nice. Good parking though with all the rain the parking lot was a bit flooded. Breakfast was one of the best . Lots of variety and continuously refilled. Cook was pleasant. I would stay here again. Mid pack out of 30 plus Best Westerns that I have stayed in.
The pillows are so soft and comfortable for sleeping throughout the night. The Mattress felt so good that it made one feel so refreshed getting up in the morning. The entire room had such an atmosphere to it, one that was calming and very good for a relaxing night after a long day on the road.
The shower pressure was great and the bathroom was properly stocked. Clean sheets and towels. Tv worked great, heat worked great. Updates are definitely needed - the floor is uneven and some of the panels are popping up. The wind howls through the doorframe between the door and wall because it wasn't sealed properly floor to ceiling. The vent in the bathroom was full of dust and I could hear another couples entire conversation when using the bathroom. We did feel safe and didn't have anything that specifically affected us or our stay.
This one goes out to an exceptional employee by the name of Jennifer. Upon arrival, she was extremely friendly and welcoming, and upon exit we felt pleased and satisfied with our overall stay.. which Jennifer undoubtedly played a major role in as far as accommodating our needs. It does seem hospitality workers like her these days ( who enjoy helping others) are falling by the wayside, so it was a very welcoming and pleasant encounter.
This room was very clean, and a great choice for our stay. The area has many amenities, ( restaurants, grocery store, site seeing, and easy access from highway) Not far from Baltimore and Washington DC
Desk folks were really friendly & helpful. I had my dog with me and they were happy to have him stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast included. Restaurant across the street. Nice walking path nearby.
Would recommend for a budget stay in a beautiful area. Everyone was nice, the room was clean, and it is conveniently located near marinas and restaurants on the water. It was a wonderful visit to the area
Have always wanted to check this out because I pass it going to from Columbia to Lewes. So convenient because it is just a few blocks off of Route 50. Good restaurant across the road. Less expensive than nearby Hilton and Hyatt. Includes breakfast.
I reserved a room at the Best Western at a rate of $300 a night for a wedding I was attending. Immediately upon arrival I noted the room was very hot and turned AC on. We went to wedding and arrived back in the room with the room no cooler then when we had left. We called to the front desk to request a room change or to fix the ac unit. We were informed the motel was full but if we decided to leave we would receive a full refund. On departure we requested something in writing stating we would not be charged. The 2 front desk people refused and Tamara stated we had her word that we would not be charged. I even called the corporate office with out success. At this point I realized I would not be receiving my full refund as promised but left anyway. The next day was charged 1/2 of my room charge. I spoke with the hotel manager Marc who stated I was misinformed and stated even if I was promised a full refund he would not provide it. If there is any doubts to the validity of my claim Marc the manager is welcome to check the security camera footage to contradict my claim. Things you should know about this motel. It is 2 star for a reason. The rooms are all accessed via the exterior and do not feel safe. The elevator is outside in a dim area. The bathrooms are small. You will be charged $25 if you ask for early check in (never have I ever been charged in the past for early check in at any hotel). Do not trust what the staff tell you as they will not honor their word.
It was a glorified motor lodge and was expensive. It did have breakfast which wasn't bad. But would rather have a cheaper room and buy my own breakfast. The fact that they allow dogs brings the place down in my estimation. The room was clean and the bed was small but slept comfortably
Excellent room. Clean. Jacuzzi was excellent. Plenty of towels. Very attentive staff. Fixed small issue with outlet formTV and Fridge immediately and apologized profusely. Great view of bay. Several restaurants within walking distance.
I have stayed at this Best Western about 20 times and it has the greatest views. In the last year they have upgraded all of the rooms with new baths and room fixtures. There are 8 wonderful restaurants within walking distance. A perfect location. I always opt for the hot tub rooms.
The Inn was a wonderful, economical place to stay on the island. It was right across from the bay and restaurants. Also, the Cross Island Trail was easily accessible by bike. The room was very clean and comfortable. I upgraded to a bayside room for an additional $15/night, and had a great view of the bay. Although I could hear the traffic from Main Street, it wasn't too bad from the bayside room. The continental breakfast offered plenty of delicious food. I also enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and detail-oriented.
Pleasantly surprised and so glad we stayed at the Best Western, it was the first time I have stayed at any BW. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the employees were all friendly, and the BF was good. This location has a pool and gym! Highly recommend.
I always for years have driven by Kent Narrows. I like to get away and try different places. So one I looked into the amenities which (indoor heated pool, spa and sauna) made it a no-brainers for me. I was able to get Queenstown Outlet Mall and I was able to get some great food right across the road.
Bed was not comfy like Marriotts but it was ok the room was clean and fine for the Two nights it is in a perfect location for us to visit our daughter on her boat that is at the marina right behind the hotel and there are quite a few restaurants across the street that is another plus
We have stayed at this property before. We can walk to anywhere in the Narrows. We are sort of locals as we live about 40 miles away but since we sold our BIG BOAT, this is a great option. I travel to Annapolis about once or twice a year. This is a good place to stay.
We enjoyed our visit and will probably visit again. The Hyatt across the road unfortunately blocks much of the view which we have enjoyed over several visits in the past. The food in the several near by restaurants. I have tried to fill in the required 200 characters but find the necessity so annoying that I won't ever try to fill out another Best Western review. Frustratingly yours j.s.vaughan
This hotel is great! It's close to everything you need, it's not overcrowded, or overpriced. The rooms are clean, housekeeping is on top of it, they do a great job. It seems as if all the employees work together really well! We have stayed here several times now and will continue to do so in the future! Great price and a great hotel! Keep up the good work. I'd also like to mention that the pool and hot tub don't close till 11:00 and are very clean and maintained well. The breakfast is more than anyone could ask for as well as fresh brewed coffee in the lobby all day. 5 stars for sure! Thanks again for a wonderful stay, again!
This modern hotel is clean and quiet, with an indoor pool and whirlpool, a good hot breakfast and an ultra- convenient location. Kent island is a nice place for a vacation -- with abundant restaurants, shopping centers and boutiques. Or if your travels require an overnight between the DC area and the NY-Boston area, get out of the I-95 traffic and take the Delmarva route.
The staff at the counter were nice upon arrival, and departure. The room did have ants, which wasn't a huge thing since it is an older building, but they got worse overnight when we had leftover take out in the trash. We used the pool and hot tub while there. The one downside was the complimentary shampoo and conditioner bottles didnt supply much, especially since we had 3 people in the room.
Ahhhhhh the staff was nice. As far as the place itself…nah…. did not care for the whole facility. Room could use some updating …furniture was horrible looking.. I just did not like the vibe felt like I was in a dirt trap. Elevator was nasty and the steps leading to the main level outside was even worse…will not be returning. Do yourself a favor spend a more for other hotels in the area. You will probably feel more comfortable!!
We stopped for an overnight on our way back to NJ from Florida. We love the area and love this Best Western. The room was very clean. The only issue I had was the grounds outside especially in the back and the staircases had garbage and were a bit dirty.
This was my second time at the hotel and I loved it so much the first time that I wanted to go again. My parents also visited the hotel on my recommendation. The hotel is clean and has been renovated. The staff, the breakfast, the location and the views are great. The bed is comfortable and the blackout curtains make it so you can really sleep in (but try not to miss the robust breakfast). I can't wait to go back--hopefully I can make an off-season trip this year. I especially appreciated Alice (both times I went). She went above and beyond. You'd be surprised to hear this, but the birdwatching at the hotel is excellent, too. The people in and around Kent Narrows are friendly and there is a very nice island vibe. You'll want to drink some crushes and eat some crabs while you're there.
Very comfortable room. Spacious. Nice view. Breakfast was ok. Front desk personnel were very very friendly and helpful. I would definitely drag here again next time I come through this way. Dry close to several good restaurants.
excellent place to stay . Marina across the street with fishing/crabbing charters. Small piers to fish off of. Restaurants are in walking distance. They even had a barbecue grill in t he back portion of the hotel.
I've always liked BW- the unique character of their franchise hotels combined with the excellent service keeps us coming back - but from the dirtiness to the noise to the mold - a horrible experience. It was really unfortunate. We weren't expecting the lap of luxury, but we booked a king, and were given a double. The room was dirty and smelly, and the bathroom was overwhelmingly moldy. Our room service request tag, left early in the morning, was left ignored all day. The breakfast room was appallingly filthy, and the open door to the microwave kitchenette where they prepared the food (left out on a buggy counter) showed a lack of care that I've never seen in even cheap motels. The one silver lining was that the front desk staff was kind, helpful, and caring throughout our stay.
We definitely enjoyed the amenities. The hotel is by no means fancy (might even feel more like a motel) but provided just what we needed - a nice view and location, an indoor pool to enjoy, a nice breakfast in the morning and also an in-room whirlpool! One thing about the pool - didn't feel like it was chlorinated. It's possible we might have even gotten sick because of that so definitely be careful about that.
This is a very nice Best Western! Room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in room 305 and it had a great view of the bay and restaurants. All restaurants are within walking distance so very convenient.
Great location near water and restaurant. Breakfast could use an upgrade but the room itself was adequate. Check in was easy and front desk was helpful. Would definitely stay at this Best Western again.
Always a comfortable stay. Nice rooms, friendly staff and great location. We always love the pool and hot tub. This is our “go to” spot when we visit the area and live it that we can bring our fur baby along.
Genuine care for upkeep indoors and outdoors. Pet friendly and my wife figured the remote out right away Breakfast was good and the beds comfortable Only downside for us was walls were pretty thin and we could hear coughing and conversation.
This is an older place, being updated. Rooms below us were having the old carpeting removed, and nice flooring put in, which is a great idea, especially by the water. New toilet, very comfortable beds, and everything that you would need was in the room. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable. I just needed a place to sleep on a quick trip, and this was perfect. The people behind the desk were very nice, helpful, and answered all of my questions. Breakfast in the morning; standard fare, fruit was fresh, coffee was good. I'd stay here again.
Under construction. All hours of the evening hammering, electric saw, people talking loudly. Complained several times, changed rooms three times. With dozens of other places literally within walking distance, avoid this place at all cost.
This is a good location hotel with standard Best Western amenities. There is an inside pool but you have to walk outside the building to access it from the rooms so we did not use it on our cold winter stay, not wanting to walk in our swimming suit outside when it was dripping wet and the temperature was freezing. The breakfast was its normal good BW offering. This hotel's room rate varies considerable from season and nearby activity demand. I paid a reasonable price for a Sunday night, the hotel was completely full the previous night at an expensive price for a local running event. I would recommend this room to all customers familiar with Best Western. It is close to nearby restaurants,. We paid $8 more per night to have a room facing the marina across the street, otherwise the room faces the highway. Our extra charge view was blocked by the stairway despite other better rooms being unused, I don't think the check in clerk considers this in assigning rooms despite that there are many empty rooms all night that he could have given us. That's just the way hotel staff are, not many have extra thoughtfulness anymore. He was friendly at check-in. After we lugged our suitcases to the blocked view room we didn't want to start over with moving to a different room for one night so we tolerated the stairwell view.
Stay away from this place. Rooms were dingy and dirty. One woman in our group had a drunk male intruder enter her room through the supposedly locked adjoining door. She screamed and he left. She reported the incident to management who did NOTHING; didn't confront the intruder or report it to law enforcement. Really didn't even apologize to the woman.
Great hotel, clean, great location with a beautiful view. Great staff too! We have stayed here at least 8 times in the past 6 months. Stayed in different rooms. Each stay has been really good. Never disappointed here.
You get what you pay for. I just wanted a clean bed for one night and that's what I got. I liked the smell of the sheets and towels. The TV was difficult to negotiate with the lag time of the loading screen. Breakfast was good and filling. The coffee machine in the front needs to be fixed as the one located in each room is a joke and doesn't make good coffee. Staff was friendly.
The beds are lumpy, definitely an outdated building.Super small bathroom. Booked third party first 2 nights at a decent price. Ended up needing a 3rd night- they doubled the price without a mention so def book 3rd party (Book It, etc). Would have saved me half the cost. Housekeepers and 1 counter lady were the only friendly employees. I didn't find this worthy of the claimed “awarded” hotel. Maybe if it were more affordable it would be worth looking over the imperfections. 2 star Hotel 5 star price. Good location as far as close to water but off a ways from anything else. I won't be back.
This hotel was clean & well located. We felt it was fairly priced. That said, there were things about it that just didn't work. We asked for an accessible room but d found that while there was a walk in shower, the bathroom itself was so small it was nearly Impossible to and & close the door. The mattresses in thee beds were in a slippery platform that shifted when you went to sit or lay on it; Monty good for a handicapped person. Lastly, a small thing but really annoying was the strength or quality of the disposable flatware in the breakfast area…so flimsy it was difficult to use. In all, a disappointment. They would do well to hire a human factors engineer to look at the guest's physical experience of the space.
This is a motel at best. Outside access to all guest rooms, windows on the outside with a drape to cover, no security or cameras in staircases or elevator. Elevator is located away from the front desk right off of the open parking lot. If you are placed on the side where the highway is the noise is obnoxious. No exaggeration I went to bed with a chair perched up against the door handle. I won't ever stay here for fear of something happening. Especially for a woman traveling alone.
The hotel was convenient US 50. I imagine that if you get a room on the front side of the hotel you wouldn't have lots and lots of trucks passing right by your room all night. Unfortunately, we were on the back side of the hotel and it sounded like we were in the middle of the Indianapolis 500 all night. The staff was rude and surly. We arrived a couple of hours before the posted check-in time and they had plenty of rooms ready. They told us though that they would only let us in if we paid a $25 penalty for arriving early. This is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing. The young lady at the desk made it clear that she didn't care what we had to say and we could post whatever we wanted online about it. When we checked out, my wife asked about this and the young man on duty said that he would have the manager call her as soon as she got in today. No phone call has been made. The room was a decent size, but it was very musty smelling. The bed was lumpy, and the pillow was the smallest, hardest pillow I ever had. The towels are apparently meant for very small people because they were tiny and very thin.
Bayside rooms are best, some highway noise could fill your dreams on the bridge side rooms. Have used this place as a stopover many times over the past 20-30 yrs. BW has made some effort to keep the facility up to date. With the new Hyatt coming online soon, going to have to step up the game a bit more. Other friends had a not so great experience (water leaks from upper floor room, mold, then 3rd try found that someone else's luggage was in the room - already occupied, or not cleaned?)
rooms and location was perfect, the hotel is very dated, and the cost was high (almost $300 a night) I would suggest booking as early as possible for best rates. there were 9 wedding venues that weekend and EVERYONE raised their rates
Stayed her for wedding. Clean room, Nice firm bed. No problems sleeping. Wish there was a way to adjust the slats on the A/C unit so that the air wouldn't just blow upwards towards the curtain. Other than that it was a decent stay.
Hotel was ok - room was clean. Had the normal amenities -microwave, refrigerator. Building is old and could use an upgrade. Breakfast was average - no eggs, no bacon. Convenient location to local restaurants, marinas and local sites.
A great find! Very close and convenient to lovely marina and bayside restaurants. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Easy access to main road but still surrounded by nature. Thank you!
Was a great visit, Fisherman's Inn also was wonderful, Be hotel had vast breakfast items I had a blueberry waffle with bananas and whip cream. Staff was great, will stay here again. We stayed in Sept it was perfect no wait anywhere
This is a very nice hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Microwave and small refrigerator were nice to have. Coffee maker and pods in room. Free breakfast adjacent to lobby. Friendly staff. Price was higher than it should be but comparable to other local hotels. Location is fantastic. Walking distance to several bars and restaurants.
We were there for the weekend of our Daughter's Wedding. Great place to stay! It was clean, comfortable, quiet. Breakfast and kitchen area were great also. Pet friendly as well which is a huge plus in my mind!! Would definitely stay again!
The room was clean and bed was comfy. The only drawback for us was the pillows were too small. The front desk clerk was very helpful and knowledgeable. Yes, there is traffic noise but not that bad. Loved our view from our bay side room and sat in the outside chairs provided and watched the sun go down. Would stay here again.
Easy check in and I had the king suite with the hot tub in the suite it was clean and I enjoyed the hot tub. The biscuits and gravy for breakfast were good. The staff were nice and friendly. The Jetty is just down the street and is a place to get a meal and drinks, were you can seat on the dock and have a view of the bay while you enjoy your meal and drinks with the full bar
The location of the hotel is great. The room was clean. Only two cons were that I was charged a $25 fee for early check in that no one said a thing about and that a wedding party was staying there and were very drunk and loud all night.
We were in town one night for a friend's wedding, so the hotel certainly served its purpose. The room was clean, roomy and quiet. The A/C was slow to cool the room but that would be my only negative comment. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast on Saturday morning was first rate.
Walking distance to seafood restaurants, puppy friendly. Only drawback was for short stays (3 nights), policy is to not change sheets or towels. However, we asked housekeeping for clean sheets and towels which were provided without any problem.
The room was nice and quiet, shower had plenty of water pressure but thought the breakfast left a lot to be desired. It had waffle maker and almost everything else was cereal items. I was disappointed
Great location near boats, restaurants and bars. Clean rooms and kids had lots of fun in the pool. 4th floor on the bay side has great water views. Staff was very friendly but they do charge extra if you wish to check in early.
After driving 10.5 hours, I arrived at the Best Western Kent Narrows in and was told that my room was not available. I asked when it would be available and was told by the gentleman behind the desk that he didnt know. Luckily, I found a room at another hotel. I returned to the hotel the following morning to try and get a refund but was told to call the manager. I called the manager but they have not returned my call. I will never stay at a best western again.....
My youngest sister of the family, was getting married at the Beach Club 10min from the hotel. The free shuttle was excellent. The hospitality was excellent. The rooms were stocked, clean, and the beds are so comfortable to sleep in. The wonderful smell from the bay, is a breath of fresh air.
The room was very comfortable. The service was very nice. The employees were friendly there. The bed was very comfortable. The people were helpful and nice to bring a cot/roll away bed, they were very helpful. It was a nice location, particularly with a water view. Great place to stay on the way to the beach.
We were very impressed with the indoor pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. The facilities are very well kept, and there are nice amenities such as a gazebo with a couple of BBQ grills, chaise lounges in an adjacent meadow next to a duck pond, and the jacuzzi in our room was perfect. It is walking distance from a variety of excellent restaurants and bars, and adjacent to a paved trail that makes for a very nice walk.
We had a one night's stay on our way to the beach figuring to stop for the evening and have some crab dinner at a waterside restaurant. The hotel bed was comfortable and the shower was strong but there were cobwebs on the walls and the furniture in the room was old and tattered. We were glad we brought our slippers to wear around the room because the carpet seemed as old as the chair that needs upgraded. Would not stay here again.
The hotel is clean as a whistle and offers great service! The breakfast buffet is always very plentiful… you can never go wrong with waffles. Our 2 day stay was like a resort getaway. We are definitely returning soon!!
We really enjoyed out stay. The staff was great - very helpful, professional and friendly. Our room was very clean, the bathroom the same way. We requested and stayed on the top floor which provided a great view of the Chesapeake. We loved the location. We were on a mission for some crab and there were many choices within walking distance. Only drawback, they only have one elevator. We had quite a journey to get from our room to the elevator. Too late now but should have built an elevator at both ends of the hotel. Definitely would stay here again.
Nice hotel, the only think I didn't like is that the one window is at the front where people walk by so there is no privacy. You have to keep your drapes closed and can't even enjoy the view at night unless you sit on the walk way to the rooms. I was on the 4th floor and it would have been great to see the water at night.
My husband and I were in town for a wedding we were both in. We attempted to check in and were told they weren't sure if our room was ready, not a big deal as we were headed to the rehearsal for the wedding so we could check in when we got back. The manager and front desk person were both so unorganized, frantic and horrible at communicating with each other, other staff members and guests. They were trying to figure out if our room was actually ready and decided to just switch our room to another floor, despite being told by the bride not to do so. I'm assuming this was because they wanted to charge me the early check in fee of $25. We got the key to the different room and went to the rehearsal because this process took roughly 25 minutes and we were going to be late. When we returned to the hotel around 2pm, I explained that the bride did not want us on another floor so they switched our room back to the original room. Now the same two people we dealt with during the first check in attempt told us that our room was ready and handed us the keys to the correct room. I was told I would be ‘fine' we asked about the early check in fee since we couldn't actually check in. My husband and I got our belongings and went to the room, only to find the room absolutely disgusting. The bed was not made, there were dirty towels all over the floor, dirty footprints in the shower, the sink was dirty and there were crumbs all over the floor. So we moved our belongings to a friends room because of how unsanitary the situation was. I went back to the lobby and explained the situation and the woman at the desk did not believe me! She kept telling me her list said it was clean. She went to check it herself and sure enough and to her surprise, the room was not clean. We had to wait another 30-45 minutes for the room to be clean and we were finally able to get to our room around 3pm where we had about an hour before we had to get ready for the rehearsal dinner at 5pm that was 30 minutes away. The entire process was beyond disorganized. Staff was beyond unprofessional with each other and towards guests. The room itself was absolutely not worth the money we spent for two nights. The towels were rough, the bed had clearly not been rotated as there were giant dips in the mattress, the air conditioner barely worked, only a couple of the outlets worked, the lights flickered randomly and the laundry detergent used smelled like cheap cologne. Unless the bed was never actually changed and I was smelling the guests before us. Absolutely disgusting and completely unsanitary.
It was such a relief to know this hotel is dog friendly, because my entire family was in town for a wedding, so our typical dog sitters (my parents) were with us. We were placed on the second floor, which wasn't too bad a walk for potty breaks and there was a decent amount of grassy area around the hotel. I also appreciated that each dog room is separated by a non-dog room, which prevents the dogs getting excited by being able to hear/smell each other. The breakfast offering was pretty good - coffee, cereal & oatmeal, waffle station, toast, muffins, yogurt and breakfast sandwiches (frozen). The hotel is situated right across from the marina where there are a few great restaurants. We really enjoyed dinner at The Fisherman's Inn (Incredible seafood entrees & chicken sandwich) and lunch at the Crab Deck (great sandwiches and crabs by the bushel).
This hotel looks nice from the outside but the rooms are very dated. Breakfast marginal. The checkin was pleasant and quick. The TV in our room did not work properly and we need Kleenex and a bar of soap for the tub. This hotel backs up to a very busy freeway and it is very noisy 24/7
Over the years we have stayed here several times and will continue to do so. nice clean rooms, refrigerators keep food beverages cold, pleasant staff & great location. It is nice to have hot breakfast offerings, the past few years traveling the grab & go's in hotels hasn't been best experience. the location is great
I re-activated my trip advisor account to warn people of staying at this hotel. My wife and I were recommended we stay here for a good friends wedding and it has us questioning our friendship with her. We paid, in total, 550 dollars for two nights, to stay at what is essentially a roach motel. The toilet clogged immediately and I was given a plunger to fix it myself, there were bugs in the room and the entire hotel has a musty essence. How this place can charge such an exorbitant price has me questioning my belief in capitalism. There are several other options in the area, including the building of a Hyatt across the street, I would highly recommend going there instead as the price will be comparable. I would spend maybe $75 a night to stay here again, however, that is not the price charged.
Had a nice time visiting and helping family with renovations nearby. Hotel stay made the daytime work go easier as we had great and clean place to sleep and shower and we were able to enjoy a decent breakfast each morning.
We take a weekend getaway at least once a summer to Kent Narrows from PA. The Best Western is a great hotels with awesome views of the bay. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is good and it is within walking distance to all the bars and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel!
Great Location - Easy off /Easy on Route 50 excellent resturant across the street great little Tiki bar right down the road comfortable beds good breakfast nice to sit in the chairs outside the room and look at the bay
This was just an overnight stay, however we would definitely stay again for a longer period of time. The rooms were clean. The beds were very comfortable. I ate the breakfast that was offered and it was delicious and there were a lot of options. We also liked that this particular Best Western was very convenient to the places we were interested in going. Right across the street from restaurants and the water.
We stayed fir quick overnight. Needed a place to stay with our dog. It was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was more than we expected, hot and cold items still available during Covid wind-down.
Nice place to stay for the cost conscious traveler. Close to many restaurants and bars and walking paths. Not much of a view of the water since they are building a new hotel. Everyone was very friendly. The pool area was clean and water temp good
Very clean and updated. Easy access to dining and nightlife. The bed was very comfortable and appeared to be clean. On-site parking is a must for me and there was plenty of parking. Staff where very friendly.
Excellent accommodations for the price in a great location - especially if you're a boat lover. Also pet-friendly. AND a great waterfront restaurant across the street, the Fisherman's Inn. Best cream of crab soup ever!
Our stay was not as expected. The room was just ok. They didn't clean it or make the bed, or restock the coffee, tea, cups, or toiletries. We had to go down to the office for clean towels and everything else. We took needed toiletries from an unattended cart in the hallway, and emptied our own trash on Sunday. Thank goodness we were only there for 2 nights.
The hotel was better than I expected for a Best Western. The room was average but they did do some updates in the room and especially the bathroom. Everything was clean. The hotel staff were lovely and gave great customer service. The lobby had the best coffee. Also it is a great location! We were able to walk to several restaurants and the pier. I loved that. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
we felt like the room/carpet could have been cleaner, but all in all not bad for a short one or two day stay. breakfast is included and pretty good, great seafood restaurants to walk to across the street
The inn is in a very nice location, just across the street from the waterfront and seafood restaurants. This is one of three inns in the immediate vicinity; its location is mid-way between the other two, but the BW price was much, much better than the one closer to the water and a much better location than the one that was furthest away. The room was basic and clean with the sink and vanity outside the bathroom (toilet and shower), but the bathroom was a bit small. The breakfast area, while small, was clean and the food was good with a nice variety. There was also a small workout room which faced the water and seemed pleasant. The nearby restaurants were a very short, safe walk away. I would definitely recommend this place for a short stay.
Enjoyable stay view from upper floor room 317 was nice Had king room with hot tub in room facing bay. Room was clean. Shower pressure and hot water was excellent. Bed was comfy. Loved being able to walk across street to go to dinner (several choices)or walk to jetty bar/grill.(really great atmosphere there). Loved watching all the boats and ducks on the water. Highly recommend this motel.
Room was large, with decent amenities. We stayed with a dog and a cat and the hotel was accommodating to the pets. Across the street from a marina and several restaurants on Chesapeake Bay. Large area to walk dog.
The staff were very sweet and helpful. Everything looked and smelled very clean. The area was peaceful and that it what we were looking for. There were a lot of things to do, 3 restaurants, a walking trail, a cozy view of the Kent creek.
Honestly, I loved the staff and the room. The breakfast was delicious too and quickly kept full why we looked for a full meal before traveling to the beach for the day. If I am in the area again I will definitely stay there.
very clean and Awesome Staff I Will be back i have more Exploring to do. Kent Island in Maryland is a wonderful place to visit with a clean and safe room to go back to at the end of the day. the breakfast free until 930 Sausage, gravy, eggs ,cereals ,fruits ,waffles you make fresh! Jucies coffee Tea,fresh bagels, pastries! and a big thank you to staff Sonya,Cat and Emily!! They were so Nice and helpful with a great attitude big smiles and a joke or two. Im not sure what I miss most the staff or Kent Island Md. The lobby was decorated in Easter it really felt like home. <3
The staff is always friendly and the property is clean. The room was clean and easily heated up. The vending machines were stocked. The bathroom was suiper clean, which I found in other places, not the case.
Staff were friendly. The room was ok. Bedding was clean and comfortable, towels were clean but the room itself wasn't very clean. Walls and baseboards were filthy No cold water in sink in fact it was scolding hot which should be addressed . It was fine for a quick 1 night stay with our dogs. Breakfast was average. I'd stay again if I had no other option but it wouldn't be my first choice.
We had a one night stay to meet up with family in the area. The hotel was clean, including the pool area. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Great place when You just need a quick place to stay. Great location to many restaurants. Also a CVS close by for any needs. Found out their is a sauna in the pool area. Great amenity in the cold winter months for sure.
The Best Western Kent Narrows Inn is situated right across from the Fisherman's Inn (a nice seafood restaurant) and has a great view of the Bay if you rent a room facing that side. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is wonderful, the staff is delightful and the prices are beyond reasonable. We love this place and are always treated like members of the family when we go. We stop at Best Westerns whenever we travel and all are great, but this is our favorite by far. Thanks for taking such great care of us, Best Western Kent Narrows Inn!
It was nice to just have a bed during the snowstorm, and mainly a hotel that accepts Dogs! So many people travel with their pets and yet it is rare to find a hotel accepting of dogs over on the eastern shore. So thank you for that!! The room itself could have been cleaner…. For some reason the microwave, lamps, etc. we're all unplugged and when I pulled the stand out to plug in some things there was a lot of dust behind it as well as pills and some trash… but again, I get that that stand is not always pulled out every time someone stays… and some other things could have been a little cleaner, but overall, it was comfortable, dry, warm and pet friendly… (those beds were amazingly comfortable!)
Upon arrival, everything was smooth and friendly. It was not until returning to the room that I did encounter the loud noise from the adjoining room. I was assigned a new room quickly, but then I was not able to enter the room for an hour due to a card reader issue. The staff tried contacting management for an hour with no help. We were finally let into the room after she contacted someone else. Over the experience was the worst that I have ever had since visiting this location.
Nice clean rooms. It's the simple things. Nice friendly staff. Nice views. Close to great restaurants and a cool dock bar that's right on the water. Really nice area of the Eastern Shore that alot of people overlook on the way to Ocean City.
We stayed there for a wedding and we couldn't be more comfortable. The bed was very nice and the other amenities were top notch. There actually wasn't too much road noise either, so that was great! Overall, I would recommend staying here!
My short stay was very comfortable and was very nice, staff was very pleasant and professional. Location was also very convenient. Room was very clean and comfortable, and fit my needs. Not much need for the amenities, but did have some.
Given how risky hotel / motel stays are these days (last week's horror story at the Hagerstown, MD Sleep Inn still has me seething), it is so refreshing to review a property I actually deliberately return to for an enjoyable stay -- SO rare these days. This is one of the Best Western properties that offers an in-room hot tub -- and when I got a BW Guest Awards special rate on the room for Thanksgiving Day, I took it ... my third visit. The hotel is situated in a pleasant spot, Kent Narrows along the Chesapeake and near decent restaurants, an area worthy of a pleasant morning stroll. The in-room amenities, décor and huge TV are appreciated, but that hot tub -- awesome! The decent hot breakfast was especially appreciated. And the price I ultimately paid wasn't bad either. My only complain this time around, I think the desk clerk could have been better trained. As example, I couldn't log into the WIFI because, as I later found out, the software had been updated since my last visit. Addressing the problem was an easy fix, except that I had to call a number the clerk gave and follow simple recorded instructions. The clerk told me that WIFI access problems "happen all the time" yet didn't have the simple instructions without the guest having to come downstairs, get the 800 number, return to the room and call, etc. I wonder what this place is like in the summer months -- my visits have always been during the quieter off-season, which I recommend -- but I can imagine one's experience is different from November to August. Regardless, I'm likely to be back ... hopefully my experiences will be as good as the last three.
This building is way past its serviceable lifespan. It is decrepit. Impossible to comprehend that Best Western has put its name on it. The room was small, dark, musty, stained upholstery, cramped, noisy, outdated in ever way. We were there less than 14 hours and couldn't leave fast enough. We would have never stayed except that 48 hours are required to cancel a reservation.
Wonderful location within walking distance to several restaurants/bars also so convenient to our destination of Annapolis. So happy we spent a little more for the bay view as the sun set and sun rise were amazing. We will be staying here again when visiting the area.
Very nice hotel, staff friendly & helpful, good location and had pet area, if needed. Room clean, well decorated and had all amenities and breakfast excellent, with good selection. No problems, would recommend.
Extremely comfortable, clean, well-maintained, efficient motel. Room was immaculate with its own heat/AC unit working in good order. Good hot water and pressure in the shower; comfy all cotton linens; good mattresses. Big picture windows with 2 chairs outside each room. In room coffee-tea facilities not so good (Possibly Covid related - a lot of hotels don't even have it in the room anymore) but they have hot beverages in the lobby. Did not do breakfast but did swim in the indoor pool and use the hot tub - both extremely well-maintained in a nice area room off the back filled with plants. Small fitness room has a treadmill, an elliptical, a cycle and weights - clean and all in good working order with H20, towels and cleaning supplies. Nice grassy area for the dogs with bags I. Case you forget. Little barbecue area in the back. Elevator and luggage Trolleys available - nice perk for a motel! Well staffed with competent and friendly people. Great restaurants nearby-recommend Fishermans in across the street. Excellent value. This is our new go to on the way to Miami.
The Kent Narrows Inn was under exterior renovations and when complete will look new on the exterior., We were still very satisfied with the room decor nicely presented and clean. The continental hot and cold breakfast buffet was very appetizing. The high light was the indoor heated pool with spa hot tub and sauna room. Staff were polite and attentive to service. Great location and walk distance to many top restaurants.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in good condition. The location is very nice with balcony views of the bay (from the bayside of the hotel) and there a few good restaurants in walking distance that have waterfront dining. There is a nice walking trail that begins across the street and goes to a small park nearby.
In a nice area but don't expect any views of the water. It sits next to expressway. If your room is on that side you'll hear traffic all night. There were several empty rooms on the other side yet we were given one near expressway. It was late so we didn't ask to change rooms. Disappointed. It's a Basic room. It was ok. Good restaurants nearby that have water views. Another hotel across the street that is very nice. We didn't know that until we'd already had our reservations
Vending machines were broken, coffee was awful, no view and the signage led you in circles. Only good thing was the waffle at breakfast which I made myself. I was traveling to a funeral. I would not complain as much if the price were commensurate with the place. I paid $250 for one night! Had this been $25.00 I would have thought it was fine. I did not expect such a run-down place for that price.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We brought two dogs with us during our stay. The hotel has designated places to take the pups out and has bags available for cleaning up. There's also a place nearby where you can take the dogs to play. The price is very reasonable and they accept pets!
Looking forward to relaxing by the pool after hiking. Hot tub was at best tepid. Big disappointment. Nice to have a full breakfast available again. Room was clean and front desk was friendly and helpful.
$200 a night for this place? They gouge wedding parties and their guests. The walls are paper thin and the place is badly run down. The only redeeming thing is the ability to walk to some nice restaurants and bars. Go elsewhere people.
Property is 31 years old but has had upgrades and is as well maintained as possible with current difficulty getting enough help. Easy on/off US 50 at Exit 42. Good seafood restaurant immediately across the street with others a short walk away. A/C a bit noisy but worked great - 100° outdoor high while we were there.
My friends and I stay here a couple times a year to get out of the city. The property is clean and well-maintained, staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is great! During our last visit, the front desk staff were extremely accomdating when our fishing trip returned earlier than expected. During a weekend the hotel with completely booked, they were able to check us in earlier than anticipated, which we truely appreciated since we were on the water by 6AM. I really enjoy staying here and many restaurants are within walking distance, which makes this property a great little getaway for a girls weekend.
Everything was as expected. The room was clean with great amenities. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The front desk staff was wonderful and very helpful. Everyone we encountered from the hotel staff was very nice. We would definitely stay here again.
Visiting my daughter and her family in the Grasonville area, recently for about a week. Staff was great in meeting our needs and responding to our requests. Little things like the breakfast bar staff providing hot water for tea, front desk providing a bath mat for added safety; housekeeping staff friendly and courteous. Accommodations very comfortable. Pool, whirlpool area very nice. Good location 2 miles from grocery store and across the street from many wonderful dining options--walking distance. We'll definitely book again when returning to this area.
We had a great time, very clean and friendly staff. We had a nice view from the 3rd floor. Pool was small but indoors, not many places in town deliver food after 11:00 pm but there's a snack bar in the lobby. I absolutely will return.
Thought the view would be better but all in all it was a nice visit. We went to St Micheals for our anniversary and this was the closet hotel we could find. Plenty of restaurants and bars across the street. I recommend the Jetty.
Place is clean and great customer service. Since I left early morning before breakfast the attendant prepared a to go bag. This was my third time at this location. I totally recommend if you are looking somewhere to stay near Kent Island. Thank you
WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! DO NOT STAY HERE. Background: My fiancé and I booked a $200 room at this location for our first vacation together. We drove 5 hours with the intention of going out on the town that night, staying at the hotel, then hitting the art museum as well as some other museums the next day. The First Day: After driving 5 hours we were excited to spend some time relaxing before going out that night. We had booked this room explicitly because it came with a jacuzzi bathtub, It didn't have a good view or any other perks So as soon as I dropped my bags in the room I jumped right in the tub. I followed the directions provided on the wall and then leaned forward to turn on the jacuzzi... THE INJURY: As I pressed the button THE JET OF THE JACUZZI FLEW OUT AND HIT ME IN THE BACK. It was incredibly painful as I lifted the jet in my hands and processed what had just happened. My fiancé turned the jacuzzi off and helped me out of the tub, My eyes filled with tears as I tried to sooth the GIANT WELT ON THE MEAT OF MY BACK. My fiancé went down stairs to inform someone of what had happened, The worker asked if I needed to be hospitalized, because the welt was on the meat of my back and not my spine, he said no. She then proceeded to fill out an accident report and said we could move rooms two doors down until a manager could be contacted. My finance insisted that she came up stairs to see what had happened, and she did. He showed her the tub and the piece of jet that came out as I laid on the floor in agony. She asked again if I needed to be hospitalized and I said no, saying I didn't feel like anything was broken, then she left. After the injury: I spent that night and the next day in the bed of the hotel room, not getting up until we had to go home and my fiancé helped me to the car,. A MANAGER NEVER CONTACTED ME ABOUT MY INJURY OR CHECKED ON ME AT ANY POINT. For the ENTIRE NEXT WEEK I HAD PERSISTANT BACK PAIN AND GREW TO REGRET MY DECISION TO NOT BE HOSPITALIZED, but also knew going to a hospital in another state would not be ideal. After back and forth with corporate (who I had to get in contact with through a number on the internet) they informed me that the Kent Narrows location is INDEPENDANTLY OWNED and they could not help me other than contacting the Kent Narrows Inn with my information. They did so, after about a week the manager, Sonya, contacted MY FIANCE, NOT ME, ABOUT MY INJURY. She 'apologized' by sending a $50 travel card for best western to our home. A card worth 1/4 of the cost of our room. I did not agree to this compensation and was offended that she thought an injury and a ruined vacation was worth $50! I called her and she informed me that she was not willing to help any further, when i asked to speak to the co-manager, Mark who had originally answered the phone, she lied and claimed he was not there, clearly insulting my intelligence, Then preceded to tell me that she had paperwork that showed that I left the hotel the night of the jury, when I asked for this evidence to be sent to me, she told me she was done with the conversation and would not be speaking to me any further, Clearly caught in her lie. If I was not states away at this point id be in their lobby requesting to see their camera footage! I could not believe that this woman was insinuating that I was lying! I hung up to gather myself before I became enraged. I called back shortly after and Mark answered the phone. I told him who I was and he put me on hold. After a minute or so Sonya abruptly jumped on the phone telling me my case was over. I told her I would like the information of the owner and she refused, saying my only option was to email her what id like to say to the owner, and she would "forward it to him". Well this was a few weeks ago and I have not heard anything back from Sonya or the owner. This Best Western Location is a joke and a hazard to its paying customers.
Do not stay at this BW. Our room was dirty, old, poor lighting (dead bugs in light fixture in bathroom) and we were eaten up by bed bugs & fleas. Had to go to Pharmacy store before we left. Informed the front desk and was mildly apologetic. I asked they fumigate the room prior to any other guests staying in the room. The person said it had just been done but would call the company again. Only offered a $40 discount.
Room was large and clean. Born and raised in this town. We were here for family funeral and decided not to stay with family but at a hotel for the first time. Really enjoyed it. Loved the access to the restaurants right across the road.
We love coming to this hotel and always do on our runs between Florida and New Jersey to visit family. We're never disappointed and we can have dinner across the street at the Fisherman Inn with the best seafood.
From the outside, the hotel looks shabby, but the rooms were clean and up to date, comfortable and quiet. The staff was courteous and as accommodating as possible considering how busy they were. For a moderate type hotel, our stay was good.
The room was okay for what we needed but would only stay for one night. You walked into the room from the outside which was not too clean. Breakfast was not good. Room was clean but bathroom very small.
We love staying here anytime we go to visit family in NJ. Comfortable, calming, Quiet and clean with a great seafood (Fisherman's Inn) restaurant across the street. Won't stay any where else. No buyer's remorse here.
My Thirty-One team used the Chesapeake Bay Room for 3 days for our annual meeting. We had an amazing experience and all of the staff was so helpful! But Sonya was absolutely fantastic! She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and access to the outdoor area as well! All at an amazing rate and with a smile. We will definitely be back!
The hotel is very convenient to restaurants, shopping and walking trails. Have stayed here several times and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very clean. The hotel is also close to the exit so easy to get to.
Stayed at this property overnight on our way to our final destination. Room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is conveniently located close to a number of dining options. Breakfast offerings were sub-par, so plan on eating breakfast someplace else.
Rooms are clean and loved the bay view . Breakfast was excellent and service was friendly. Quick checkin online and if a member , 2 bottles of water upon checkin. Great restaurants within a short distance, walkable distance. Restaurant and bars close around 11pm.
This was A very good hotel. We stayed in a King Spa Suite. The room was very clean. The Spa Tub topped off a very relaxing Day. The Hotel is within walking distance of numerous restaurants. The breakfast was sufficient with plenty of choices for all tastes.
Perfect location to enjoy seafood restaurants within walking distance. Very clean, well maintained facility with friendly staff. Daily delicious breakfast with great food and beverage options. Fresh hot coffee and tea in lobby area 24/7/365. Be sure to explore the Cross Island Trail (beautiful nature trails with a 10 foot wide paved surface) that views wildlife in an environmentally sensitive design safe setting with canopied forests, bridges over streams and access to public parks. This wonderful area is a slice of heaven, my bride's new "happy place" that we will visit again!
Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We found that it was easy to get out early in the morning to catch the boat. Check in the prior evening was a breeze, and the clerk was extremely friendly and helpful.
We made this reservation at the last minute since we were not satisfied with a different hotel in another city (not a Best Western). This location was perfect and the room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. It was conveniently located near the restaurant we wanted to go to as well. It was very quiet even though it looked like it was quite full. We would recommend if you are in the area.
Nice hotel in the center of Kent Narrows, MD. Pet-friendly in some rooms only. Great view from hotel window facing water. Beautiful pool and hot tub area. Cleaning and maintenance staff visible everyday and room seemed mostly clean.
What a great spot the Best Western Kent Narrows Inn is! Sonya Rose, Front Desk Manager, made our visit 10x better with her kind welcome & great hospitality. She was an absolute delight. Thank you for a great stay!
This Best Western really has the extras...indoor heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna, 24 hour coffee bar in lobby, breakfast bag with more than anyone can eat, refrigerator with freezer section, microwave, luggage carts...lots of little extras that make staying there enjoyable. We traveled with our 2 dogs and worked from the room. We stayed 6 nights and it worked out well. Only thing missing was towel racks, but maybe that is because it seemed fairly freshly painted. Very clean and comfortable place to stay!
Came back for our second visit. Wonderful environment and centrally located. Great and responsive staff who are down right nice, caring people. The property is clean and well managed. We loved staying while ‘Lucy and Ricky' the annually visiting duck couple, protected their egg laid right outside the property doors.
Create location. Upon first entering, room smells like old smoke. Worst was seeing a blood mark on toilet seat. Overall decent stay. Really, management should just be double checking or spot checking random rooms in order to ensure cleanliness is being met.
The rooms were VERY clean and quiet. Expected less for the type of hotel. Also the front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Great they accepted pets. There was confusion about early check-in and I was told one price on the phone and another when I arrived, yet the front desk staff fixed it immediately.
I have been here for 7 visits with each stay being 2 to 6 days. It is a great hotel with incredible views of the docks, boats, bay and if you are on the bayside you will see magnificent sunsets. There are 7 fabulous restaurants all within walking distance. Each has there own unique style of making crab soup. Try them all.
Good location for town, hiking trails & outlets. Although the room was clean and staff was lovely, the riff raff of people who pour into this hotel/motel after the Saturday night bars was horrific. Would never come back
Hotel was prime location for us to walk to all the surrounding bars and restaurants!! Perfect!!! Check in was easy and staff were super friendly! Would definitely stay here again!! Rooms were clean and the AC worked well.
Very nice hotel for a best western could tell it was recently updated. Wish I knew the hot tub wasn't working as this was the reason I booked this hotel. The pool was very warm which helped and it was very quiet.
The room I was checked into was dirty, had to go back to the lobby and wait for another room to open up; made me late to a wedding. The new room smelled strongly of weed. Lastly I woke up at 5 am due to a couple fighting outside my room. Worst experience ever
This hotel was upgraded very recently including plumbing fixtures, It is very competitive with other hotels/motels in the area. Easy access to Annapolis as well as areas on the Eastern Shore, for Example St. Michaels, Rock Hall, and Chestertown.
I went to this hotel becasue I had to work a double shift at work and didn't get off until midnight I was due back into work at 4am. I needed a place to sleep due to I live 45 minutes from work. The hotel was good for the 3 hours I was there to sleep I did not have any problems. Kent Narrows and Kent Island are a good place to visit if you are in the area.
I stay here for work, and with best western rewards the prices are great. They are also good with booking.com. I also really like that this hotel is pet friendly so if you want to see the sites on Kent Island and bring your pet I recommend staying here.
Room was great for $99. Beds could have been more comfortable. Very clean. First floor in back was very convenient for dog. Grassy, stone wooded area was perfect for his "bathroom breaks." Continental breakfast was very impressive. Even though boxed, it came with a microvavable 'sausage, egg, cheese biscuit sandwich, pastries, muffin, yogurt and nutri grain bar. AND, it was DELIVERED to our room from the front office refrigerator.
Had to stop over in Kent Narrows after a traffic accident and the staff was extremely gracious in accommodating us (and our dog) during an emergency. The rooms were clean and well kept and they were nice and warm as well!
Short but sweet getaway with my honey. We toured down all the small street streets in St Michael's and explored the coastal areas. Loved the in room hot tub, king bed, spectacular sunset and water view. Def walk across the street for a wonderful meal. Staff was great too! Ahhhhh
Last minute decision to visit Kent Narrows for overnight stay. Hotel staff was very helpful ... even offered the use of a sound machine during our stay. Room was large, clean and very nice. Would definitely stay again. Only negative was our next door neighbors who decided to party "loudly" until after midnight.
Stayed here on the spur of the moment as we traveled home. We did not have reservations but there were rooms available. Room was bigger than I thought it would be and were clean. Was very happy with our one night stay.
great location price was good. service was a bit lax but that was due to the Virus restrictions. Rooms were clean and neat. heating system worked well. Nice view of the Bay. Clerks were very accommodating and friendly
Pool was at a chill temp. Air temp in pool area and bathroom for changing was cold. Pool was the entire reason I chose this hotel and it was miserable. Breakfast bag was good. I met 3 Hotel staff. 2 helpful one grumpy weekend desk lady.
Nice but realize you are walking outside to get to your room. That is the intended Best Western model but it can be very uncomfortable with wind blowing and temperature below 32 degrees. I was alone and in town for a funeral but with my family I would not book this venue unless temps were well above 32 degrees.
This Best Western is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. There is a nice view, allot of local food that is delicious and easy to access. The Accommodations and amenities are outstanding and the Housekeeping services were very helpful and timely.
It's a PEEPING TOM'S PARADICE. The rooms were clean and comfortable but make sure you manipulate your curtains to ensure nobody can see in your room. Even with them closed all of the way you can see the beds via a mirror on nearly every room. I told them about it the last time I stayed but they didn't do anything about it.
Driving to Florida from NJ we got a late start and decided to stop for the night. Needed a pet friendly hotel - the BW in Easton did not accept pets however the 800 reservationist searched for one that did close by. Limited time to check TA reviews so we took a chance and are so glad we did. Friendly front desk employee immediately made me feel comfortable but the next and most important test was room cleanliness - 5 out of 5 stars. Will keep this on my list of favorites on TripAdvisor and once you stay there you will too. Happy Thanksgiving!
Sonya is sooo nice! We want to say how much we appreciate the service we received from Sonya Rose at the Best Western Kent Narrows MD. She made sure we had a lovely view of the bay, and a strong recommendation for the Jetty Dock Bar for crab cakes. She was so nice and clearly loves making her guests feel appreciated and we do!!! Jack and Angie
I've never had any discrepancies staying at this Best Western. Management is the best I've seen in years in the hospitality industry. Extremely clean and hospitable. I work in customer service so I expect the best. No complaints, super clean and fun. Thank you guys !!!
We really enjoyed our stay! The staff and the community are very friendly. The area is so beautiful and relaxing! It was exactly what we needed and look forward to spending time in the area again very soon! And of course it will be with Best Western. The rooms with the Bayview are so amazing and the bed was very comfortable! I'm telling you it was so RELAXING!
This place is a real gem. Perhaps the outside seems a little dated, but the rooms have been updated and are well appointed and clean. The hotel staff was very helpful. Plus when you consider that it was CONSIDERABLY less expensive that the other properties nearby, we felt like we really lucked out!
Very clean, quiet ,nice staff and it was just us girls and we felt very safe it was a girls night out so we we're close to everything we wanted to enjoy that evening. Bed and rooms very nice oh and we loved how the towels were folded So cute lol. Over all we enjoyed our Ourselves so thank you
i was busy each day i was there i got up every morning grabbed breakfast and headed for the pond came home in the evening and was ready to relax -- the fisherman's inn was a very good restaurant right across from hotel the staff was readily available with directions etc i had a great view of the harbor and even though it is located on a mail road the traffic noise was minimal
I suppose if our room was on the route 50 side of the building our stay would not have been as nice. This is an older building with all outdoor entry. It's nice to sit in front of your room and look beyond the buildings to the water. Many boats to see on the Kent Narrows to the right. Also to the right is an excellent walking/bike trail if you have the time. This place is nothing fancy but is an all around nice place to stay. You can walk to all the seafood restaurants across the street .
My boyfriend and I love visiting Kent Island, MD. When we visit, we always like to stay at the Best Western. It's located in walking distance of most restaurants. The hotel has a friendly staff and exceptionally clean rooms.
The room was fine for my daughter and I for the few hours we were there. The night shift front desk clerk could have been a little more friendly. Didn't even ask me how many or any questions, just said it would be $130 for the night period. Didn't tell me where anything was or what time check out was, and no books in the rooms for help. I even heard people outside complaining about how rude she was after we checked in. I know I should have asked more questions, but was tired from driving 8 hours. Maybe some training in people skills would be good.
Clean, clean clean!!! Stayed on the fourth floor facing the water. Across the street from restuarants, pubs etc. and less than .5 mile from other well known establishments. Parked our car and walked to dinner! Check in and check out easy and fast! Will be back!! By the way did I mention how clean everything was- definitely felt safe!
we had a clean room and the people were very nice the pool was all some and thay had coffee watched a great sun set and bar and restaurants were with in walking distance and thay had a great acess to the bike trail and walking trail
The name is misleading, it is not an inn or a hotel, it is a four story motel. While the motel is conveniently located for the area marinas, it is falling into the lower ranks of a clean hotel/motel category. We only stay here during the week to be near our business when it's affordable and move on Fridays to the Holiday Inn Express or the Hilton which are usually cheaper and much cleaner and more modern. The BW is still okay but needs renovated. It does have an elevator at one end which is nice. Covid19 has changed many things in life including room service. Understandable. But by now staff should have be trained and have their act together. Each time we check in we get different info. Coming back late one night we took are soiled towels down the the front desk and the desk attendant said"what do you want me to do with those?" You have to ask for replacement everything as you need it. Hot and muggy days created a pile of dirty towels and washcloths and garbage by the time we left. BW needs a better system like other hotel chains.
We had a great time at this motel. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great view and across the street from great restaurants. Close to some nice little beaches and 1\\2 hour out of Annapolis. We enjoyed the Jetty restaurant across the street which had some delicious crab dip and awesome crab soup.
Without a doubt, I have never felt so ripped off in my life. $250 for that room was robbery. It was worth maybe $125. I have slept in better tents while deployed in the Middle East. The young lady at the desk was very nice and helpful; I never said a word to her because its not her fault that Best Western puts out a crap product like that. The decor was like something out of "Dynasty" or "Knotts Landing" , it was that old. And if anyone at BW thinks its "chic" or "tasteful", I challenge you to put that in YOUR house- and let other people see it. Bathroom was poorly cleaned; toilet seat hinges are stained yellow from all the urine. Water stains behind toilet; shower sprays all over the room. A/C blew straight up into the curtains; only solution was to open them and let the world see into our room. Continental Breakfast was a joke- I have to take frozen food back up to the room to heat it up? Covid or not, thats some of the dumbest crap I have ever heard. The "Bayside View" included a parking lot, a road, another parking lot, then a waterfront restaurant, then about 1 mile away was the Chesapeake Bay. No thanks. Service gets a Very Good because the young lady at the front desk was great. Location gets an "Average" because being in Kent Island, you are within walking distance or a short drive to everything. You would think a great location like that would be nicer and that Best Western would offer a great room at a great rate worthy of the location.
This is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. The room smelled and the TV remote didn't work and the mini-fridge didn't work. I called down to get another remote and the fridge repaired and was told that the maintenance was off today and they couldn't do anything about it. Plus there are two cheap lawn chairs in front of every room and shirtless men were sitting out there drinking beers and becoming very belligerent.
The room was clean it needs to be updated though we had a nice view of the bay from our room. We were able to sit outside our room with the chairs they have setup outside the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful will stay there the next time we visit.
Room was nice and clean. However the ac was off when I arrived and never was able to catch up. Room temp got down to 75. Not real bad but I would have liked it a little cooler. Desk clerk was nice and helpful. Bar and restaurant across the street was excellent
Used to position us for a fishing trip the next day. It was clean and very handy to restaurants for our trip. I would go again because of its proximity to the Chesapeake and all the other water activities.
Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was okay. They are doing their best during the pandemic. Staff was hard to come by. I waited 20 minutes at the front desk until someone finally appeared to check me in. Similar experience with check out.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had left my Apple Watch behind and they shipped it to me for free priority. No problem with theft or faith in them. They were upfront and honest and returned it to me. With Covid the cleaning of rooms while staying multiple nights is not standard for health reasons. But the room on check in was spotless. Would use again if we go to Kents Narrows. Thanks!
Room was clean, disappointed in the pool - clear as mud - didn't use it- bag breakfast was just alright but don't know what else they could do in this time with Covid-19. It is what it is , they had mask for sale for a dollar each - good deal , bought a couple .
Best Western Kent Narrows Inn is a great property and I came back as a returning guest. Best Western has a promotion I participated which was stay once, get $25 gift card to use next stay. The quarantine was tiring so I wanted to go on a vacation. I texted the property wondering if rooms were opened early and my room was available before 2 PM. When I checked in, I got upgraded to a bayside hotel room. This property recognizes their elite members for space available upgrades while I am a BW Rewards Diamond Elite Member. Marc and Sonia are great Best Western staff to make this stay a great experience. I like how this hotel is near Kent Island Scuba as I stopped by that dive shop on my trip. Kent Island Scuba staff are friendly. I like how the bay side hotel rooms have chairs outside the hallway to enjoy the balcony with the beautiful view and it is convenient if I need to go downstairs. The pool was nice to use at this hotel as I have not been able to use a pool since March. The breakfast burrito or sandwiches were a nice touch for grab and go. There is no other hotel I'd stay at in that area, I'll use this Best Western for my next visit.
Check in was at four, I got there at about 2:45 and they took me right in no problem. When I made my reservation on the one 800 number I reserved a non-Waterview non- Bayside room, without even asking the general manager upgraded me to a base side with a glorious view. Staff was friendly, hotel was very clean as well as the room. Would not hesitate to stay there or Check in was at four, I got there at about 2:45 and they took me right in no problem. Great customer Service. Close to Alot of Restaurants. Nice area to stop by and stay when you're travelling to the Eastern Shore. Highly Recommend Fisherman's Crab Deck. There's also a Marina area with places to eat drink & shop!
Traveled for a quick overnight by the bay and highly enjoyed my stay. Due to the pandemic, they weren't offering their breakfast bar, instead, a staff member provided homemade breakfast burritos in a to-go bag. I thought this was extremely thoughtful of the guests and added a lovely aspect to my stay.
Staff was excellent. Location is awesome. Nice environment. Close to fine dining a couple local bars. And if u don't want to leave that's fine the pool area is a good place to unwind . All and all worth the stay
Great customer service . Close to alot of restaurants . Great late checkouts. Usually very quiet. Quick check in and out. Pet friendly. Early breakfast.free wifi. Cable television. Smoke free . Elevator
BW renovations are really nice.Staff as always, very pleasant and attentive. Near tons of restaurants, and nothing beats a February view of the moonlit narrows. Perfect couple's quick getaway from the work-a- day routine.
We enjoyed the location and the room was very clean and comfy. The only drawback was the elevator was not in the center of the building and we had to walk from our room on the end across the entire length of the building to go downstairs. I will return but would only stay in a room closer to the elevator or on the lower floor not the top floor.
Best Western Grasonville is a good value for the room. There are times, however, where the room could be maintained by housekeeping in a better manner. The room ammenities are always stocked, but times when housekeeping doesn't put pillows back on bed and instead just leaves them all sitting in a chair and bed is messily made. Breakfast on most mornings is fully stocked and hot.
Excellent place to stay for a weekend getaway or other occasions, very clean, comfortable, polite and helpful stuff, great location, walking distance to restaurants and bars, and lots of historic sites to visit!
We will definitely stay here again. Most important is a good night sleep and these beds were great just like home. Good quality mattress for a great night sleep. Very friendly staff. Located near great restaurants.
Very helpful staff, went out of their way to help with a birthday surprise & when a problem with the reserve from another site. They called back right away! Told me about the local restaurants, & night life.
We've stayed at the Kent Island BW a few times as it's very near our marina and they accept pets. This time was noticeably nicer. They've redone the rooms - they're simple but comfortable - and the ones facing the water have nice views. Also, you can walk to four excellent restaurants literally across the street. The woman on the reception desk went out of her way to help us. Very nice people. We'll gladly stay there when we aren't on our boat.
We had a great weekend on Kent Island in MD. Found lots of antique places to visit. Trails to bike ride and walk. My favorite place of all is Field of Heather bakery. They make the best Jewish apple cake, they have breakfast quiche that are good and so is their coffee. Oh and their scones are great. The next day we went to the fishing expo. They have stuff for crabbing as well at good prices. The stuff for fishing is a lot. Then they sell pit beef. Whoever made their pit beef, got it right, it was good!
Hands down the best hotel for your buck in the eastern shore. Great water views, new remodeled rooms, fitness center, pool, jacuzzi and free warm breakfast!!! Let's not forget the popcorn in the lobby.
If you are a snowbird looking for a clean, comfortable, quiet night's sleep with a terrific restaurant, Fisherman's, across the street, this is the place. Kinda quaint area of town, right across from the water, you can walk to the Fisherman's which is comfortable, affordable and well-staffed serving very satisfying food. The breakfast included a delicious array including a decent egg omelet, kielbasa and sausage, biscuit and gravy, etc. Grab a yogurt for the road and you will not forget or forego this convenient destination
I have stayed here many times of the years. Great staff, clean and comfortable rooms. The free breakfast is ALWAYS good and hot! I recommend to my out of town clients if they are searching for a place close to the island that won't break the bank.
We have stayed at this hotel several times and the interior & exterior very attractive (especially at Christmas time). The front desk ladies very nice & helpful. The room was clean & had all the Best Western amenities. Breakfast was good (except juices watered down). Only negative was if you have a pet there is a $30.00 a nite pet fee which we feel is too high!
Motel directly off Rt. 50 and 301. Bay side balcony reviews of harbor and marina. Great restaurant across the street which has fabulous crab bisque. Motel clean but exterior stairs makes it difficult lugging baggage if on higher floors. Does have an elevator but not centrally located and is at end of building. Managed, however, and rooms clean and modern. Will return next rip.
We needed a pet friendly hotel & this one was great. Older facility but nicely updated. The room was clean, and the breakfast was good. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the towels were scratchy. But we would stay again.
we never even consider another place to stay when visiting the area...helpful staff, good dining recomendations, a decent free breakfast with the usual breads and muffins waffles, yogurts and cereals , meats and eggs and good coffee... and they have fresh popcorn in the lobby!! plenty of families staying here too.
The staff was very professional. We were very satisfied with the inclusive breakfast- they had many options to choose from and the food was delicious. The popcorn machine in the lobby was a nice touch. The matress was very comfortable- something i always take into consideration. I'm glad we chose the best western over the hilton
I stayed here for two nights with my mother and 80 year old grandmother. I wasn't expecting a lot because it's cheap, but I didn't get any sleep because of the party next door. My mother got up twice to tell the staff that there was a party keeping us awake at midnight. We asked if the jerks could be moved to another room and they said “if I do that then they'll be charged for an additional room”. Like wth? So in other words if I had asked to be moved we'd be charged another room fee too? The beds were uncomfortable and the room was stuffy. I drove from upstate ny to stay there.
Very nice accommodation. Clean, comfortable room. Great view of the bay from 4th floor. Just spent the night after a nice bike ride and dinner out. Staff very friendly. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Walking distance to several nice restaurants and right on the bike trail.
Convenient, Close to Restaurants, Great Location. But just because you are there and convenient doesn't mean you have to provide inferior service or quality. The Hotel needs an upgrade. (including knowledge, friendliness, and attitude of staff) Inconvenience with elevator, (far end of building) 3 wheel carts that tip on ageless rolling sidewalks that's only if you can find a ramp to enter towards elevator that is not blocked by a car or truck. Rooms especially bathrooms are ageless. Hiring a contractor that takes pride, quality, and expertise in their work might be an idea. Immediate processing of you credit card at 2 AM the morning you are leaving was questionable. Especially if you would like to pay another way. Thanks for being there but no thanks.
It's a best western... The odd numbers have a water view and even have a highway view if you are able to choose. Room was clean. It's 4 stories and elevator is only on one end of building so if you are at the opposite end, it's a short walk to your room. There are stairs as well. Did not use any of the amenities. Other options in area are similar level hotel (Hilton Garden Inn).
This is a great location near many excellent restaurant choices, easy access to Rt. 50 to cross the Bay Bridge to Annapolis or drive less than an hour to various destinations: Chestertown, St. Michaels, Tilghman Island. Motel was quiet and well run. There's an elevator. Everything was clean and in excellent working condition. There's also a lovely lounge patio outside the indoor pool, with picnic tables. We were there in late October, but plan to return whenever we visit the area.
My wife and I were driving back from Washington, D.C. to NJ earlier this week ... in a downpour that wouldn't stop. It got so bad that I couldn't see the road. After two hours, I could not go on. We pulled off in Grasonville, MD and used "Around Me" to find a hotel. My wife called the Best Western and they could not have been nicer. They had a room for us. Best decision we ever made! Nice place, nicer people, right across the street from a great seafood restaurant. Thanks, Best Western, our shelter in the storm!
The night clerk was very nice and helpful. The location is near the island edge of the bay. There is a nice Chesapeake Bay Heritage Center nearby where you can learn more about the area with a tiny museum and enthusiastic staff there too. Overall our stay was nice, clean, and they have a good snack shop. Also their breakfast was the best we've ever had at any Best Western (pumpkin spice waffles!!!).
This is a nice hotel near Annapolis. The facility is up to date, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is decent. The location is unique, it's right on the narrows with great views of the marinas and such.
Our 2 night weekend stay was over $600. I've stayed in $300/night rooms before, THIS WAS NOT ONE Maintenance issues, generally dated, not a high end facility. Easily heard guests in several adjoining rooms. Bring your own pillows, because they supply these strange small pillows.
we booked this hotel for a trip to the Annapolis boat show - and another local boat show in Kent Narrows. this was an excellent location near fabulous restaurants just across the street. hotel room was clean and very comfortable.
We just spent two nights at the Kent Narrows Inn, we enjoyed our stay! This is not a new hotel, it has been updated over the years. We enjoyed the views, we were on the fourth floor bayside. We all slept well. We found this hotel convenient to Washington DC, The breakfast area was nice and included in our stay. It is my hope to get back there again. Note: We also enjoyed the food at the Fisherman's Inn and the Crab Deck. just across the street.
Front desk check in friendly and helpful. Helped us getting in touch with a lift driver she was fantastic. The room was dirty and it looked like throw up in the bed skirt. Tried to complain and a Mgr was to call never did. I reached out and they didn't offer any discount or apologies just said thanks for calling. Not good.
Our King bed was very comfortable. The swimming pool was clean. The free coffee was great! This was our second stay here & we are sure to return again. Our room was clean and we had everything we needed!
Great view of the bay! Clean room, great staff! Excellent recommendation on sites to see, restaurants to check out. The walking trail near the hotel was a beautiful walk. We walked 8 miles on the trail and enjoyed the experience. We definitely will return!
It went great the accommodations were great service everything was clean and the manager Sonya Rose was fantastic.Since it was a surprise and my grandson did not know his grandparents were coming and Sonya knew the importance of this, she was part of why is went so perfect. She was there if anything was needed and helped pulled it off without a hitch. I thank Her.
My wife and I rented a King room with a Jacuzzi. I didn't try the Jacuzzi, but my wife loved it. Room was clean, and better appointed than I expected for a Best Western, but for me this review is all about sleeping. I've had 1 back surgery, and 2 neck surgeries in the past 5 years (motorcycle accident in my youth, and no....I don't ride anymore). Sleeping ANYWHERE that is not in my bed, with my pillow, is a recipe for disaster. $500 a night rooms leave my crippled. But not this bed. I slept well, and was in no pain when I woke up the next morning. This never happens outside my own home. Bed are usually way to stiff, and the pillows provide zero support for my neck. My shoulders are usually very sore as well, as I must sleep on my side because sleeping on my back will put me in the emergency room, and so will sleeping on my stomach. But I awoke with no pain, even after overdoing it some the previous day. So, the room was quite nice, and the Jacuzzi was very nice, but the bed was something to behold. And that, is the most important item in a place where you are literally there to get some sleep. Will definitely stay there when I'm back in the area.
We have stayed here many times on our way to and from Florida...older, smaller place, very clean and friendly staff,,,great restaurants all around. We love this route as a way to avoid Washington and 95.....
The room was clean and spacious. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We received a complimentary upgrade to a bay view room. Watching the sunset from the balcony was awesome. Will definitely stay here again!
not our first time at this hotel, great location, the continental breakfast was better than most . one plus the refrigerator in room was the coldest we ever experienced in a hotel, usually its not as cold as at home, walking distance to everywhere
great hotel food was good surronding the hotel also m bkfst was nice , staff was welcoming also . pool clean very clean !!! stay on rt 50 close to outlets and only about hour from ocean city beach , clean rooms
Great place to stay in Kent Narrows but need to do a better job cleaning the rooms. If you can get room in the front of the Hotel the view is better facing the water. The local bar are nice and have live music.
Pros: great location across the waterfront restaurants and walking trails); friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Nice pool and jacuzzi. Decent breakfast. Pet friendly. Recommendations: rooms are decent, but would recommend that you add comforters instead of thin blankets to the beds. Upgrade to better thicker towels and amenities. I would also update your television and remote which feel like they are old & outdated. Improve the coffee. Has a motel feel with people sitting outside their doors sometimes smoking, which is annoying. But it's pet friendly so overall this will do.
Best Western in Kent Narrows, MD was a beautiful place to visit. Staff was very accomodating and rooms were super clean. Plenty of restuarants and bars within walking distance. Beautiful views of the bay from your balcony.
The location is perfect however they can charge the rates based on this however the hotel is old..so old it has rca televisions...I wasn't really in the room however there is nothing in the room that will give you any desire to stay in the room..old bathroom etc..
I can't begin to tell you first~The customer service at this location is off the charts. We were in town because of a death in the family and needed assistance with some document transfers and business services. The front desk manager, Sonya was SO,SO helpful! She made the worst of situations so much better with her compassionate, and helpful spirit! The location was wonderful and our room was immaculate! I will stay here when ever I'm visiting now! It is just a NEW FAVORITE!!
Great room. Got locked out in the morning and maintenance came right away to get us in Very courteous Pool was cold for an indoor bit hot tub was great.Breakfast was good. Would definitely stay there again.
The Best Western is terrific! Friendly service, clean, comfortable, great location. It checks all of the good things you would want from a hotel. We walked to all of the restaurants. Looking forward to going back!
When dropping in to visit the town of Ken Narrows we found the perfect hotel overlooking the bay which offered breathtaking views, amazing hospitality and a clean and cozy room. Tons of restaurants in the location and everything is within walking distance. Several of the locations offer shuttles to and from and the people of the town were generous.
Very friendly staff and room was very clean. Quiet location but great location to local restaurants. Pool, hot tub and sauna are great too. Breakfast included and very nice. Plenty of items to choose from.
Overall great experience with the staff, check in and check out process was a breeze, not to mention the overall cleanliness of the room and the bed was AMAZING.... Instantly upon entering the room you feel and smell the cleanliness
Glad the TV had HBO and other Premium channels. Kids loved the pool. Breakfast was good. Staff was helpful. Plenty of resturants right across the street. We will definitly stay again. Family members also loved the place.
I called in before our arrival and made arrangements with Sonya (Manager) if they could decorate the room for my wife's birthday? It was perfect! Ali actually decorated it to perfection. We highly recommend and will be back
-Check in is usually pretty fast. -Customer service was good . -Breakfast was good. Many different choices -Animal friendly (which is a plus). -The female manger is pretty awesome, very friendly. -great local restaurants and bars in walking distance.
My stay was very good and relaxing. My room was very clean, the staff were very courteous and helpful. The location of the hotel to nearby restaurants and places to visit was a plus. I will be sure to stay at this location again.
All other hotels in immediate area are more expensive This hotel has a nice pool for the kids and is centrally located to all local attractions . It can get a bit crowded during peak season and on weekends during off seasons which renders it a bit loud in the evenings when the local bars close, but still a good place for price
The staff was helpful and attentive. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. We visited during a boat show so it was close to everything we needed. We did not stay here because of the breakfast but it was convenient.
Visited this hotel for one night 6/30-7/1/19 for the sole purpose of hitting all the tiki bars on the water and staying locally. Check in was easy-I had prepaid rate from expedia. Our room was a 2 queen room, very clean and spacious. Fridge, microwave..... ironing board/iron. TV worked great, many channels. Absolutely loved it. Did not partake in pool or free continental breakfast.
Just stayed at this property last weekend for my friend's wedding. Hotel is pricey for a Best Western (our rate was over $200 a night). My friend and I walked in around 2:45 PM, and before saying anything, were just told pretty coldly, "YOUR ROOM ISNT READY YET." I explained we were there for the wedding (thinking that since we had to start getting ready for the wedding they could try to find us a room), and she just said "we know." I could see the wedding welcome goodie bags behind them. We checked in, I asked for a late checkout, and again, without any warmth, just a cold, "Its at 11, LATEST I CAN DO IS 12." They both acted like we were annoying them. I had to actually say, "hey, aren't those goody welcome bags for us???" and she was like "oh... yea..." Check-out was the same experience. My friend told the desk person that she had not received an e-mailed receipt. The woman reiterated it was e-mailed. My friend said she hadn't received it, and asked for a printed copy. The woman insisted on re-emailing it, and looked annoyed when my friend repeated she still hadn't received it, and if they can just print a copy. I don't know why they acted so annoyed, maybe we were the only ones with this experience, but at what we paid for the Best Western, I was pretty disappointed. The room itself was a standard motel-type room. Not worth the price.
We were pleasantly surprised how comfortable the pillows and bed were in our room. The staff was great and we enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk to the nearby restaurants on the water. It was a great couple of days!
Ive stayed here many times over the years. Staff is friendly though my regular contact was no longer there, and the room clean and comfortable. Since the this time was considered "in season", cost was high and the corporate discount was not offered. The only other downside of this stay was the noise from partiers up and down the walkway in front of the room...most likely from the Jetty or Crab Deck. Not the hotels fault that people are so inconsiderate these days but it is what it is. Overall, usually a nice place to stay.
I love staying at this hotel. The last time I stayed the staff were very professional and friendly. This time when I checked in the front desk girl, Alli, was short with me and not very friendly. Was not impressed.
Our stay was tremendous, Sonya at the front desk was exceptional !!!!! The Breakfast was great and my Grandson loved the pool, Room was clean and comfortible, we had a great time here and would highly recommend it
Hotel staff were pleasant and hotel was ok with good internet. Breakfast was very good. One side of the hotel sits next to route 50 and was noisy all night long. Other side would have been quieter. I specifically requested a quiet room and my request was ignored. Hotel is on older side and room smelled musty with noisy air conditioner.
the room was clean and very well appointed! The view was so nice! the staff was friendly and accomadating! I was nervous when I pulled up it doesn't look like anyting to write home about. I was wrong! the rooms are clean and very nice. the lobby was very nice and had free popcorn!!! It is right across the street from two amazing places to eat. the breakfast buffet was all you could ask for and the coffee was good! cheese omelettes, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy. French toast and make your own waffles! plus all the usual breakfast foods. definately worth it. I would stay here again for sure
I just had a great stay at this best western! It had great views of the water, yummy breakfast, clean nicely furnished rooms, and most of all top notch customer service. We were greeted by Sonya at the front desk, and after a long drive she brightened our day. It's so nice to see people who like their job, and genuinely care about the guests happiness!
I came to the best Western after booking on line and since I don't do that often I was kinda nervous. As soon as I got to the front desk Sonya was more than helpful. She got everything together for me, told me about local places and told me about deals at all the restaurants in walking distance. I would come back just because she works there!
clean, very modern, updated and roomy. food at breakfast was great, many choices staff was nice ,helpful and professional . checked in late nite with nick and dealt with Sonya during the day and checkout. Both excellent people
Very friendly staff (front desk, house keeping and breakfast staff) Fast check-in, explained all the amenities available. Great location close to all the restaurants, walking distance for most places. Front of hotel can see the view of the bay, beautiful! Rooms were clean and spacious. Has high speed internet, easy to access. Love staying at this hotel!!
The hotel is average, our bathroom toilet was dirty but overall it was okay. it's convenient to a lot of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The view is nice if you get a bay view window, the balcony to the room is a walkway lined with chairs and is shared with all guest
Enjoyed staying at the best western over memorial day weekend. The staff is very kind and friendly. The hotel is walking distance from fisherman's Inn and Bridge's as well the Jetty. Highly recommed if you are looking to stay the night after having a few drinks at the Jetty.
We loved our visit. Motel was excellent for our needs. Close to shops, restaurants and bars. We love this area and will be back to visit. Grasonville is a hidden treasure most people don't know about.
Second time at this motel to visit family, this time to pay homage to my father who had passed away within a week of our stay. AS always the staff was accommodating, even ensuring that we could check in early. With everything else weighing on my mind, the ease, convenience and comfort of the Best Western Kent Narrows added to making a tough trip up a bit more pleasant. Thanks!
This place has clean rooms, great front desk staff and a convenient location. We checked out before breakfast was served so Tim (front desk) made sure we had a to go bag with bagel, fruit and a bottle of water. We all appreciated the breakfast to go and enjoyed it while the boat headed to the fishing spot. This place is not the Hilton but a great value with great staff!!
Excellent area with lots to do. Clean room and friendly staff. Hats off to Naomi (Front desk) for helping us with locating tires for our bike trailer. Tires were worn to the core. Also Tim at the front desk was friendly and helpful for numerous questions we asked. Thanks again!
I had a great experience. The staff were nice and the room was clean and big. The front desk guy helped us accommodate our needs. The location of the hotel was good too and the neighborhood was quiet.
Stayed at the Best Western for a friends wedding in the area. The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was great with many bars and restaurants in walking distance. The rooms looked to be recently remodeled. The breakfast was surprisingly good. Would stay there the next time I'm in the area.
Hotel, breakfast and staff were great and helpful but if you want to use the hot tub you better make sure the manager is there to turn up the temperature and then wait for an hour or so if you want the water hotter than 90 degrees. If you like cold water tub then go for it. I just like my hot tub water "HOT" or at least over 100 degrees. I am just saying not for me!
I arrived here and there was a problem with my arrival date. I had booked through a travel website. The Manager, Sonja, immediately assured me that there was not going to be a problem and took care of me quickly, politely and professionally before I became too distressed at arriving from out of town to attend a funeral and having my arrival date incorrect. I found the rooms to be very clean. Pricing was very affordable and a great value. Being a business professional myself, I was struck by the sense of ownership Sonja exhibited every time I saw her during my stay. She was very aware of everything and small details in lobby and cleanliness throughout. It is very rare anymore to receive such great customer service with friendliness, and actual CARING of guests! This is a major chain but Sonja's personal touch gave it a small town friendly feel. She made me feel as if I was a guest in her own home. I will definitely stay there again, and recommend to anyone! Thank you so much for going above and beyond!
The best spot for families, couples and just to stay in general. Very clean and friendly staff. Clean indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Complimentary breakfast. Walking distance to all restaurants and bars. Best hotel on the island !!!
It was great. Me my wife and my kids had a wonderful time swimming in the pool. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Beds were very soft. Then in the morning the continental breakfast was extremely good all across the board. That definitely won't be our last time staying there. Appreciate the service!
We picked this inn for its location, being about halfway home from our winter in Florida. We needed only very quick and basic accommodations, and the Inn certainly supplied that. What were nice extras were the popcorn in the lobby, the charming location and the proximity of a delightful seafood restaurant just across the street. The check-in clerk was fun and helpful. The internet worked perfectly and the breakfast was "right on."
Hotel has been renovated since last time we stayed there. Very accommodating. My husband needed bars in bath so they changed our room with no problem. Restaurants are within walking distance and great choices They have breakfast in the morning. The rooms are large and comfortable. Very clean. Staff were quick to answer questions and make recommendations. Would definitely return
Room was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Great channels on the flat screen tv, even shopping channels! No noise at night. Great location to the Jetty Restaurant and Dock Bar for great food and live entertainment; Fishersman Inn for good seafood; Red Eye Dock Bar; Annie's Restaurant. A very good selection of items on the included breakfast (yougurt, waffles, bagels, coffee, tea, juices, fresh fruit, pastries, etc.). Great front desk staff - friendly, accommodating, helpful and very professional and welcoming. Stay here every time we visit Kent Narrows.
We were going to stay at the Best Western, Kent Narrows after a day on Kent Island enjoying the beautiful waterfront views, bevies and restaurants. We booked a bay front the in advance and arrived for check-in. We entered the room and left 5 minutes later. The room was dark, dingy and a stuffy stale smell. The bathroom had hair dried to the side of the tub and the carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. I called for extra pillows (due to chronic back pain, and extra pillows are needed for support and comfort) and was kindly told “I don't know if we have even extra pillows” i don't understand not having extra pillows available. What happens if they become stained or soiled and the room needs new pillows before the next reservation?! Our bay front room was a joke. You could barely see the water over the roof and to side of the restaurant across the street. We left and didn't stay the night. What a dump. When booking I was debating between this hole in the wall and the Hilton across the street (which is bayside, water front) which was almost twice as much, but would have been worth the extra money.
the place is nice. the rooms were clean and the beds looked really nice. the bathrooms were neat and clean. the tv worked fine. the building was really quiet and I didn't have to worry about noise coming from the next room.
Room was clean , staff very friendly. Great View of marina and the water. Would definetly stay there again. Requested water view and adjoining rooms and everything was met. Did not have the breakfast but everything looked good. Did have plenty of coffee though
Traveling up from FL and checked in very road weary after fighting D.C. traffic. Was met by an extremely friendly woman at the front desk who pointed me to the Jetty. Had a great night. The hotel is clean, comfortable, affordable and old school. Half as much as another chain nearby.
The room was clean with a great view of the water and marina area. Staff was friendly, complimentary breakfast had everything you could want, hotel was close to all the restaurants. Two thumbs up! I would definitely stay here again in the future.
I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Kent Narrows Inn hotel. I wanted to go to Annapolis for the day during my trip. I chose to stay at this property due to research of what amenities I wanted for my hotel stay. When I checked in, the front desk agent Tim was friendly and welcoming. I was recognized as a gold elite member with Best Western Rewards where I received a welcome gift and a space available room upgrade. The popcorn in the lobby was a nice touch. The room was nice and clean with an amazing bayview. The pool and hot tub were great to use and wind down for the night. Sonya is a great front desk agent, she interacts with her guests well and my friend and I had great conversations with her. I would highly recommend this Best Western hotel property. I would like to stay here again when I plan to come out this way.
The room served its purpose. When I first arrived used the ladies room near pool a large metal bar fell in bathroom stall , striking me. I informed the front desk , they barely acknowledged me. They were nice enough to give me another room the 2nd night when the TV in my room went in and out of connection . Other then that , it was average.
This location is EXCELLENT because of Sonya, the Front Desk Manager. This is my home away from home for the month of March and because of her it felt like home. Lobby is exceptionally clean rooms are excellent and breakfast is wonderful every morning!!
This hotel is always my first pick when I have family visiting. The rooms are very clean and the service is accommodating and helpful. I haven't tried the pool and sauna, but they seem great. The Kent Narrows is also a beautiful sight to see in the spring and summer.
We travel with our cat and seek pet friendly locations. The Best Western offers a good value and welcomes pets, a plus in my book. The front desk reception was friendly and helpful offering a choice of floor as well as recommendations for dinner. The room was clean and has a refrigerator, microwave, and in-room coffee. HBO was a plus for my husband. The breakfast has a great choice of food and is very clean. There is a friendly employee who greeted us warmly. Another plus! Pricing is great and the receptionist was sure to check if we had any discount options. A good value for a clean and friendly hotel.
We stay here frequently because we have friends on Kent Island. Usually it is satisfactory. This time our room smelled of cigarettes and we had to move (and we were on a tight schedule). The next day we advised the maid that we were leaving. Six hours later we returned to a dirty room and had to find someone to give us fresh towels. Don't be afraid to speak up. Of course if they had been busy we might have been in real trouble as smoke gives me a headache.
We had a Jacuzzi room with a king-size bed. The room was very clean, the front-desk and breakfast staff were great. The hotel is a bit of a throw back to 1960s motels - other than the odd placement of entrances to the pool and the breakfast room, we found the hotel a good place to stay.
We had a nice room on the fourth floor overlooking the harbor. Exterior hallways were not a problem, as they also served as a balcony from which to watch boats. We were referred to a great seafood restaurant just across the street. King sized bed was comfortable with abundant pillows.
I'm a frequent frugal traveler increasingly willing to pay a bit more owing to horrible guest experiences recently. This hotel is in a pleasant location for an off-season escape. I found the prices reasonable, with clean rooms that lack nothing, with lovely bayfront views and hot tubs in some rooms. Some (but not all) of the front desk staff are pleasant and well trained. I like the private access to the rooms via elevator at one end of the property, with carts conveniently located to carry up your stuff. The area offers great shopping, dining and tourism options. The breakfast is decent but certainly not anything to rave over (please, no more dry / fake scrambled eggs!!). On my last day I found out this is an Indian owned hotel. At the risk of sounding like a racist -- believe me, I'm not -- I've had frightful treatment by Indian hotel owners in the past. In this case, thank goodness, the Indian owner stayed out of the way and let the franchise quality standards and the property's natural benefits make for three great nights for me. Let's hope that won't change.
We stayed here for one night. The room was clean and comfortable. We had booked a king room, but when we got there the front desk staff recommended a queen room because the cold affects the locks and she said the the king room lock wouldn't work. We decided on the queen room, got to the room and the lock would not work. We had to carry all of our stuff back down to the front desk. She gave us a king room, but had to go up to that floor and open the room for us. This was inconvenient and strange.
When the hotel is not fully booked, the experience is good. When booked, the noise level can be a bit much. The cleaning staff can be better. All too often they do not replenish all of the items in the room and leave items from a precious stay (i.e. candy wrappers, etc) in hard to reach places (like behind the night stand, under bed).
Had a pleasant stay and awesome continental breakfast. Tim at the front desk was very accommodating. Only problem was we paid with a debit card and it took days for the charges to come out right at the bank.
The room was clean and Breakfast was good. We had stayed in a best western previously and that room was not clean. The staff were friendly and the lobby area was nice and clean too. It was at your best western that I was told about the promotion (3rd night free). The previous one did not.
The hotel is located just off of RT. 50. Located directly across from the Fisherman's Inn Restaurant and less then 2 miles from 4 other restaurants. Friendly staff, the room was clean the bathroom was clean. The only complaint I have is heat unit was noisy when your trying to sleep and the unit kicks on. Besides that it was a good stay.
Shouldda read the other reviews first. We stayed here one night on Friday the 18th. For the good part - the check in went without a hitch. There were two male clerks at the check in desk and both were extremely helpful. That's where the good experience ended. The room where we stayed, Room 123, smelled distinctly of urine which we didn't realize until it was too late to request a room change. We arrived late, quickly put our things in the room, went out to dinner and came back. Exhausted, we got into bed and then realized the problem. It was too late at night and we were too tired to request a room change which we definitely should've done. We called after we left - as a courtesy to report the issue. When we recommended that the staff thoroughly clean the room before they let anyone else stay there the woman we spoke to on the phone was completely disinterested in doing anything about our report. If anyone needs to stay at this place, I would strongly recommend thoroughly inspecting the room before you actually spend the night. The customer service after you've left is horrible.
Decent people. Antiquated facilities. The building is a relic from the 1970's. Horrible reservation service. Skip the 800 number. Reasonably clean but old facilities. Decent service and quality of breakfast.
Well located. Lots of potential, We are regular Best Western frequenters but very disappointed in this one and does not live up to the Best Western standard. Located on Kent Island, MD on the Eastern Shore side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Check in not pleasant. The clerk was abrupt, unfriendly and had an attitude. Beware that the advertised price is not what you pay upfront. Pay an extra $10 for a water view. The advertised rate had a view of a bunch of wild bushes and brush. The view water was top of buildings. After the credit card went through there was an additional $25 charge which was not disclosed. When asked about it, it was an “amenities fee” in case we vandalize the unit. My husband and I are in our seventies, non smokers. I can not recall a single time we have been charged this at Best Western. The extra charge was reversed on check out. Once in room the TV didn't work at all. Picture of RCA dogs when turned on and nothing else. Two different people tried to fix it with no results. Had to move to a different room. TV did the same thing, but they did manage to fix but TV still lost signal occasionally. The men who tried to fix TVs said they were doing some wiring on the floor above us. Amenities cheap. Coffee maker was very small and came with coffee “tea bags” to place in what appeared to be a disposable tray. This is too long, but bottom line this is the worst Best Western we ever stayed in and do not recommend. Gave it a one star only because there is a great restaurant across the street.
Visit was fine. This visit had the room clean. Being on an upper floor afforded a more quiet visit which was very much appreciated. The winter months have less people staying at the property. There are lots of local places to eat
My boyfriend is from Kent Island so we stuff in the area about once or twice a month. We have stayed a few other hotels in the area and this one so far has been the best bang for our buck! The rooms are always clean, the free waffles are pretty good, the location is prefect as its just off of 50 and with in walking distance to a few good bars and restaurants, the Wi-Fi is reliable too. I live in the mountains so I really enjoy getting a room with a view of the water. The lady breakfast room is very personable and remembers us every-time. Sonya at the front desk is always very nice and easy to work with too!
Wish we could have stayed in prettier weather, but we still enjoyed it. Friendly folks at front desk, comfortable bed, clean rooms. Very reasonably priced. Swimming pool looked inviting. Bet there's a good view in nice weather.
Second stay here, perfect stop over to and from Florida and avoid DC. Clean and comfortable, nice view if you are on the by side. Breakfast has even improved since are last stay in June...my husband loved the kielbasa links. Not Hillshaire farms...more like a real polish sausage (I'm polish) Our room had an ADA, comfort height toilet, great for us with issues.. Best thing, great restaurants in the area to give yourself a treat after a long day of diving....
We were traveling for business and looked for a comfortable spot for the weekend. What a bonus this hotel and area provided. The hotel staff is very friendly, popcorn in the lobby, rooms are nicely decorated and provide a beautiful view of the marina, water and sunsets! Also several restaurants and bars across the street which is walkable. Highly recommend The Jetty for great music, food and conversations. We were here during the off season and it was a slower pace. Will be back next time in the area and bring a bag chair to sit outside the room. P.S. Front desk Sonia - super job!!
I would recommend this hotel. We stay here frequently. Very nice people - rooms are nice. Its location is very good. The free breakfast is also very good. Always stocking and plenty of food choices. It is a good hotel.
The front desk is very friendly and was an easy and quick check in. The entire property is very clean and nicely furnished. And the location is wonderful for the proximity to our family and restaurants.
Everything was outstanding...from check in to check out. Our family was accommodated very well and we will absolutely return on our next visit. We booked 11 rooms total for a two night stay and everything was outstanding...
The room was clean and in well working order. Hotel location is in an excellent spot with nearby bars and restaurants within walking distance.Only a short drive to Annapolis to give you something else to do in the area!
very friendly staff ,clean rooms and beautiful view. i am a travel agent and was visiting the area!! loved the fresh popcorn in the lobby, the hot breakfast in morning. I will stay here again on next visit to Kent Island.
Nice Hotel, clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Indoor Pool and Fitness Center. Breakfast was very good, as well. Cable Tv not working correctly during my two week stay. Would have been nice on rainey days to be able to watch movies that were offered but unavailable.
This is a very average hotel, I enjoyed the stay but wish the hotel was a little more updated. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was big and patio was nice. Our room entrance was on a balcony facing the road so not a great view.
This hotel is super-easy to find, has ample parking and a homey lobby. Upon check-in, the clerk was so pleasant and helpful. Check-in was easy and fast. The lobby has plenty of space to sit, hang out or organize. It has the typical one-computer-and-printer "business center," nice furniture, free coffee, tea and popcorn, newspapers and more. Adjacent to the lobby are the indoor pool and luke-warm hot tub. The deck was clean and there was no over-chlorinated smell nor moldy smell. The one elevator is on the back side of the hotel. Groan...I have a fourth-floor room tonight. I should note that this BW is really a four-floor motel with a nice lobby. The room is spacious enough and well appointed, but the carpet is very dirty and the furniture looks worn. However, the mattress is excellent. The heating works well and is clean. I dis not watch TV or use the internet.
Do yourself a favor and skip this one, there are several others close by. We stayed there because it was close to the restaurant we were to visit for crabs. They should start over on this hotel. Catwalks our front with plastic chairs where the customers sit and smoke . Dreadful!
Even though I was next to a highway, there was very little noise. The bay with the boats was across the road and I could sit outside my room to enjoy the view. Room was very nice and clean. Staff were very helpful and guided me to local places.
Good, no-frills hotel, that is fairly priced. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice view from the upper floors on the bay side of the place. Restaurants/Bars within walking distance. Would definitely recommend.
Staff at this hotel are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and welcoming but evidence of repairs were noticeable. Morning breakfast was nice. Good coffee, pumpkin waffles and lots of choices. Loved the view from my window. Don't choose room 315 as it is right next to the elevator and there's noise as people get on and off.
The hotel itself was your typical Best Western but the check in staff was extremely rude and very condescending. The same staff member one night after check-in called the police on one member of our party because he was being insistent on the fact that he had a room reserved with the clerk claiming he didn't. The clerk called the female in the party a lier and one of the other men who witnessed the event a lier as well . The police did come and when the bride showed them her reservation they ended up talking the clerk into giving the couple a room. The clerk had refused to look at her reservation that she had on her phone. Other customers witnessed the event and one couple who were looking for a room left and said that they wouldn't stay there because of the upsetting situation. Clerk's name was Tim and he was totally out of place on both occasions.
Very clean rooms, Beds comfortable. Staff very helpful. breakfast in the morning outstanding as well as complimentary coffee and pop corn. Only complaint is not restaurants close to hotel that were not seafood. Other than that easy to find and would highly recommend
We spent the weekend in room 417 with the sunken in hot tub. The room was very clean . The AC worked great. The biggest seller for this hotel is location location location. Your right in the heart of everything Kent Narrows has to offer. The manager of the hotel was 1st class sorry I wish I would have remembered his name.Would stay again . Thanks!
I understand that rates may go up on weekends and most BW's are individually owned but I wonder if corporate knows what is going on here. The Sunday to Thursday rate was $94 We were told Friday night would be $243. So we went outside and checked for a Friday rate and saw $134. Went back in and sales manager told us we were wrong period. I have been a platinum member since 2005 and have been 99 percent loyal to BW. We always stayed at BW if they were available in the place we were. But a $149 bump! Jesse James had a gun when he robbed people.
We needed a place for rest and relaxation for the nite. Nice view, friendly & courteous staff, quiet room near the water, clean and everything that was needed was given. Nice pool too and thank you we will stay again.
The staff was great with a last minute reservation. The hotel is beautiful and clean and stacks up against any top rated hotel. The location is great with many Eastern Shore restaurants available within walking distance.
Had a great time, as usual, but was kind of special anniversary celebration. Ready to go back again. Great food, love the crabs, they are awesome. Great atmosphere, sunset and morning views. Planning on going back very soon. Oh yeah, it's GREAT for kids too, so bring them along!
The room was clean and neat, although not overly large. The bathroom was also somewhat small. The view of the bay from our balcony was great! The complimentary breakfast was good but the breakfast area was somewhat small and crowded.
Great view for sunsets on the south side, good breakfast in morning. Clean, comfortable and quiet, though our stay was during off season, (early Fall). Not far from Annapolis and plenty of hiking in area
This was a last minute decision to spend night in Kent Island, hotel is right out in front on main roadway in town. View of Narrows waterway from upper floors, plenty of parking and the breakfast was excellent - Will stay again !!
The stay was great. The staff was fantastic. When we couldn't find Uber's, the hotel gave us a list of services we could call and it worked out great to get where we needed (Annapolis). Complimentary breakfast was nice as well.
We were upgraded upon arrival. Nice view of the bay and surrounding area. Hotel room was clean! The personnel was friendly and polite. We would definitely stay here again. Easy access to restaurants and highway.
the staff is wonderful. The rooms are quite clean, but truly need updating. Quite an old hotel, but better than average. The breakfast was very disappointing. There is no character in the breakfast room. Not inviting to sit in at all.
Great location for my 50th high school reunion, Room had peeling paint, wallboard dings, frayed carpet, tiny bathroom, get rid of the tub/shower and just have a shower. Overpriced given the condition of the room.
Felt more like a motel 6 than anything else. Standard room, did have a king bed. The TV remote worked part of the time. It would never change the sound. Was overpriced even for the area. The staff at the front desk for check in was friendly and helpful. They do serve breakfast on the week days until 9:30 but they were putting things away starting at 9 and she locked the door promptly at 9:28. There was free WiFi, and I didn't use the pool facility. They did have popcorn in the lobby as well as a beer keg, but it was empty and it didn't appear anyone was going to replace the keg. The front desk ignored the activity. No big thing, but if you are going to offer it - maintain it.
Two days here for a wedding. Big lack of attention to detail for the money. Room basically only had a once over from the previous guest. Thorough cleaning between guests was obviously not a priority. Just an overall feeling of poor quality of upkeep. Dirty stairwell and elevator, coffee station in lobby was sloppy, people smoking on balcony all night was annoying.Only employee I ever saw was at the desk, never saw anyone else. Took 3 trys to get my room keys to work at check in. Was told it happens all the time.TV couldn't get some channels. Front desk told my wife they know it but don't get it fixed. You could just tell this place only cares about getting your $$$$. Very disappointed.
Love the friendly staff, amenities and Breakfast is outstanding Close to many dining and entertainment venues, in the Kent Narrows area. Would recommend for those vising Annapolis as well. Close but out of the rat race.
It was a great stay. The room suited my sister's needs since she is handicapped. We loved the beer keg in the lobby. How cool is that. We will be back again soon. All of the accomendations were great. So close to the best restaurants. Thanks again.
The staff was wonderful. I requested early check in days in advance. The day of my stay they called me at home to let me know my room was ready. They were very helpful. The rooms are really nice and clean and what I liked most about it that its pet friendly
needed place to stay the night this was perfect. very good breakfast included. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and nice. Had a nicer stay there than we did at our destination and paid more.
Nice clean rooms. Well taken care of everything in working order. Nice hot breakfast bar with everything from cereal to fruit to yogurt , eggs, breads and rolls, biscuits and gravy, juices and many other items.
Clean quite room, nice service and good breakfast. We needed a place to stay for a few nights and picked BW because it was closer to the Bay Bridge Airport , we are glad we did.Did I mention they have an indoor pool? We'll be back.
The charm and comfort of the Eastern Shores of Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay holds wonderful memories of fishing and crabbing along with the quite comfortable room at BW.This use to be the Comfort Inn which we also liked and have stayed at.
Dirty towels, coffee maker covered with dust , and inside was full of dust, looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. TV no recieving signal. Staff states that not getting local channels is normal, we should switch to cable.
Kent narrows best western. Great hotel. Spacious room. Great breakfast. Nice staff. Was on romantic weekend getaway. Awesome place to stay. Will definitely stay again. Close to restaurants, great pool.
I am very glad to have discovered Kent Island and the Best Western at Kent's narrow. We usually take vacations at the beach, but were looking for something quieter. This beautiful area near the Chesapeake Bay definitely delivers. The staff at the Best Western are amazing. I am in a wheelchair and they were very helpful. Breakfast was always delicious. The housekeeping staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. One of the housekeepers, Jane, deserves a raise. She even checked back in on us at the end of her shift.
Pros - Clean Room & Pool - cant ask for much more at $100. Cons - You can hear the traffic on the highway from where we stayed, Exterior room entrance seems dated, TV is direct tv and signal was flakey - was good weather at the time
We have stayed here before. This a a very nice and clean hotel and the staff was very attentive. It is in a great location near local restaurants and bars. We were on a birthday getaway with our friends with adjoining rooms in the rear of the hotel. We were sitting on our balcony visiting with our friends, which was located just at the top of the stairway. One of the sales managers, Mary W. came up the steps to look at another room and immediately started to tell us everything we were doing wrong at the hotel. Our door was open a crack with the A/C on, we were sitting too close the stairwell, and there was a pack of cigarette's lying on the outside shelf. She was very confrontational and engaged with us in a negative manner, stating that she could have us fined. This was very unprofessional and I believe this manager needs to be re-trained in customer service and hospitality!
As always, our stay was top notch. Staff & accomidations were of the best. Very professional & courteous. Room was clean & comfortable. Breakfest was smashing!!! & therevwas lots of it available. Great stay again.
Great hotel, very clean, very nice employees.would go back anytime!!! really great location also!!!!!! room very nice, well taken care of by the staff.good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel!!!!!!!
Tim, on the front desk, was extremely helpful. When he was unable to find our Rewards account in the system he made a phone call that allowed us to reactivate the account, and recover lost points. He also was able to recommend the perfect restaurant where we could enjoy a meal with our children and grandchildren. The pool was a bit chilly but the kids had a great time playing in the water.
Traveled for business with family and small dog. Would have preferred first floor accommodations since we prearranged to have our small dog with us. Had to switch rooms upon arrival due to awful smell coming from fridge but staff was very professional and efficient in making our room change.
I would have loved the stay here, as it is a beautiful, fun and friendly place. However, at arrival I stopped at the desk before 4pm (their stated arrival time) and went to check in. I was told they had a few rooms open but it would be $25.00 EXTRA to check in early!!!! I was upset from the very beginning!!! So disappointing when the gentleman who took our reservations was absolutely kind and helpful in every aspect! I will not stay here again...price gouging?!?!? You decide.
The entire facility is clean, updated, and very well maintained. It appeared that the room was recently refurbished. The staff was appropriately friendly. The included breakfast was in a nice room and was better than expected. Good location. All for a fair price. I will return for my visits for crabs in Grasonville, Maryland. However, I must point out that the air conditioning in my room was super poor and I had a very uncomfortable night. Maybe it was just my room. Like no air conditioning at all, even though I kept lowering it.
This hotel was just as it should Friendly staff who made the reservation (Ken) Friendly front desk staff. The room was ready on time, clean and comfortable. Swimming pool and hot tub was clean and both were refreshing. Just what I expect in a hotel. I'll definitely stay there again.
We visited Kent Island for a long weekend getaway and decided on the Best Western because of the location. Nice rooms, pool if you wanted to use it and mostly the great location to the bay and multiple eating venues. Bed was comfortable and the room well appointed. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner as they didn't give us any conditioner at all and what they did give you when you checked in was it. They didn't refill anything, change towels or clean the room. Maintenance looked rough as our TP holder was just hanging off the wall....but really the room was nice with a great view of the parking lots of the restaurants and bay. They include breakfast as well....good not great but we didn't go hungry. Believe me I would stay here again as it was generally a very good experience but I just never stayed anywhere before that didn't make the room up daily and replenish supplies. That made my scoring take a point off but don't let that stop you from staying here...just bring your own things and make your own bed.
I was pleasantly surprised at check in, the staff was beyond helpful and HAPPY. They seemed like they enjoyed their job and were extremely helpful! Rooms were clean, staff was awesome, all in all, great stay!
Great location for group fishing trip reasonable prices, restaurants nearby, easy access off highway, close to outlets, they opened the breakfast are an hour earlier to accommodate our fishing group, had hot breakfast
This BW is very conveniently located with excellent restaurants within walking distance. It has been newly renovated, very clean and staffed by very friendly, accommodating and professional staff. The front desk folks went out of their way to reassign me to a first floor room. Great breakfast included with room.
beds are 3 years past functional use air conditioner is loud and disturbs sleep front desk staff was rude to my kids at the pool which is adjacent to the lobby it was apperntly not foreseen when they placed the pool next to the lobby that 10 -12 middle school age kids may make a little noise when they play in a pool and it would disturb the front desk staff as they do nothing in the evenings and cause them to become irate and scream at the kids kick them out and attempt to hold there clothes and phones hostage
We needed time away and a time out from the kids; so our adult time out was a few miles away over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to Best Western Kent Narrows Inn where we could (for a couple of days) relax in comfort, eat in comfort, drive in comfort, see a movie in comfort, go to Easton and St Michael's in comfort, etc, etc, etc...
Older style hotel with nice big updated bathrooms. Very clean carpet and great beds. Will stay again when in the area. Close to great restaurants and waterfront. People sit and drink outside their rooms so evenings can sometimes be noisy.
Excellent Location, close to all dining (walking Distance) clean comfortable rooms low noise level, great breakfast , pleasant staff. Fitness center adequate, pool All in all very very pleasant stay. And will stay again.
Fantastic place for the family to walk to restaurants, bars, etc. They allow pets, so we didn't need to leave ours behind in a kennel. Decent price for rooms and receptionist was more than accomodating.
The king suite is fantastic, comfortable bed , very clean hotel, and breakfast is surprisingly good. Stayed two nights, close to plenty of outdoor on the water places for great food and live music. Would reccomend to anyone.
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. Staff has always been friendly and more than accommodating.....this stay was no different. Bay front room was nice, clean and comfortable, hotel is walking distance to restaurants. Will certainly stay here again in the future !
When we checked into the hotel we walked into a room with a bed completely unmade bed that had clearly been slept in. There were dirty towels all over the floor and and the bathroom was a mess. It was clear that housekeeping had not cleaned after the last guests stayed there. When we called the next day and complained to the manager they were rude and still charged us $200 for our stay in a dirty room that night. I would definitely recommend staying at the Hilton across the street as they are basically the same price for a lot nicer rooms.
Went fishing and stayed overnight at Best Western. Hotel was ok but should be brought up to date considering it's location and other surrounding newer hotels. Definitely could use some remodeling and TLC.
The check in person was friendly, but wanted to charge me $25 to check in 1 hour early. We had to change and meet a party, so we had no choice. The aggravating part was that they said the fee is so that housekeeping can have a room cleaned for us, but as soon as I paid the fee...I was immediately given a key. I am Platinum with Marriott, and Diamond with Hilton. Everytime I give Best Western a chance, I have some kind of issue. They also had insufficient parking, so I had to park across the street where no one is around. It's a shame, because we have to book quite a few rooms for an upcoming wedding in August. and now I will not be staying here. Not the worst Hotel, but Best Western needs to address some of their policies unless they always want to be just mediocre.
Older, but well kept building with nice views of the Bay. The elevator is a little inconvenient, outside access then a long walk to the room outside...fine if it's not raining.. We loved out handicapped room. Didn't need a roll in shower, lots of grab bars for the tub...good counter space for out stuff with a little separation from the ADA toilet and tub. Large and perfect for our problems. Good restaurants everywhere (one of the reasons I picked this location, reward after a long drive from FL..) Great way to avoid going thru DC on a week day. We will used the as a stop on our way back in the fall...more restaurants to try.
The price was right at this hotel for a quick midweek getaway! We really enjoyed the pool, hot tub, cozy outdoor garden lounge, free beer in the lobby, and the beautiful view from our balcony! There are many restaurants and bars within walking distance of this hotel!
Enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. Staff was very helpful. Room was clean and everything in order. All ressurants, waterfront is walking distance. Didn't get a chance to use all amenities however, highly recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway.
Convenient to the entire town easy access to rte 301 & 50. All restaurants and bars are close by. Hotel staff was polite and courteous. I would stay in this hotel again the next time i travel to Stevensville, MD.
My wife and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon to a clean, well-kept Best Western for our friends upcoming marriage. While our room was originally not ready, they were able to upgrade our room to the front side of the hotel, providing a nice view of the bay from across the street. We found the staff very friendly, the room clean and comfortable, and really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely come back again.
Very friendly front desk. Great view, local to everything. Comfortable bed, quite location. Was only there one night, perfect for my needs. Price was reasonable for location. Clean room and facility, basic breakfast so you don't leave hungry.
Nice hotel, good breakfast and very close to all the night life! All the restaurants were convenient and in walking distance so that you didn't have to drive. The breakfast was good and the attendant was very nice and helpful. I would go there again if the need arises.
This is a motel which understands that in the spring through fall, people come to Kent Island to go fishing. They have a "fisherman's rate" which was better than my AAA discount, and if you get up at 5 AM to go fishing, before the hotel breakfast is open, they give you a little baggie breakfast to take on the boat. Staff is very accommodating. There is also a pool, hot tub and sauna, and the hotel was recently remodeled. Great place.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.. Love the waterfront view from the balcony.. This was my third stay and each time I fall in love with him over and over.. A nice selection to choose from for breakfast. Our stay was great. Next time we will try the pool..
Great staff, quiet, island vibe, high rise, no bells and whistles; but nice and comfortable. They offered an upgrade to water view, instead of superhighway for $10. Close to an outlet and moderate fee shopping.
My vehicle broke down and the staff was very friendly in making me feel at home. I felt stranded and felt very comfortable with the stay. My anxiety level was lifted immediately when I checked in. Thank you very very much.
This is a beautiful location, delightful room (with a hot tub -- very cool!) -- with a beautiful view of the inlet and within close reach of Annapolis and the D.C. Metro. I loved it -- BUT I imagine it would be beyond my price range in-season.
Although I don't normally like a hotel with exterior access from the room door, this hotel was arranged for a sports team we participate with. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and accommodating to requests. Room was clean and beds very comfortable. Good value. I am glad we had the water side view as the highway view side of the hotel has very limited appeal.
We stayed here when they closed the bridge and we had no way of getting to Virginia. Luckily we were able to get one of the last rooms and were very pleased with the room and staff. I have to commend Mary who was at the front desk and incredibly helpful and friendly. An added bonus when we got there?? Newly popped popcorn! I know corny but hit the spot after sitting in traffic for hours. The room was what you would expect from a Best Western with a clean bathroom, firm beds and plenty of towels. The room had a refrigerator as well. We had breakfast the next day and have to say, the food hot and they had a good assortment of hot and cold food. There was plenty of space for everyone to sit as well. If I am ever in the area again, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
My family stayed here during a winter storm that disrupted our power. The staff is super friendly and they take pets, which we needed. While the doors--like most walk up hotels--open into the bedroom area, the beds are far enough from the door to give you privacy. The curtains do need to be a bit wider to cover the entire window but it was a minor issue. The hotel was renovated in the last 3 years and is in really good shape. There is plenty of free coffee and the included breakfast is just enough to fill you up. It is a really good no frills hotel option. Fisherman's Inn--a really good local establishment--is right across the road. I would definitely stay there, again.
The hotel staff has always been exceptional. We always love our stay at Kent Narrows. The location is also phenomenal. Several restaurants are in walking distance and the view of the Chesapeake makes the stay so worthwhile
Just stayed here for 3 days and only chose the venue because everything else was booked. I wasn't expecting much because I know this is an old property, but I had read that it was recently renovated and took a chance. The rooms were not really that bad at all, and the night staff was very nice. Breakfast was good too. However, there were some major issues. - The doors to the room I was in had an open area which led to a draft all evening. It was 35 degrees that night. - The windows are wider than the curtains! So anyone can see in your room (and you can see in anyone's rooms too!) - On the 3rd night, the warm water broke. The entire hotel was out of hot water between 5 am and the time we left (12:30 pm). Every time I called the front desk, they told me that it would be back on in 15 minutes. It wasn't until I called Best Western's helpline that I was then told that guests were receiving a $25 discount. The front desk never told me about the $25 back. Also, other guests were complaining that they were not getting their money back. I had to call BestWestern corporate to find that out. So, when I went to the front desk and asked for my refund, the clerk told me that he couldn't do it. That he needed the hotel general manager to issue refunds since I was an online reservation. Pretty sure that was a blatant lie, as they had kept the refund news from me earlier.... as well as other patrons who were discussing their problems in the parking lot. This hotel is in tatters (doors and windows) and its management are a mess. Will never stay here again and am taking up my issues with corporate Best Western as this location is being run almost as a rogue operation with zero respect for customer service.
Great value for a room very close to Bay Bridge and right next to Kent Narrows Bridge. Rooms seem to be newly & Attravtively renovated. Front desk friendly and helpful. Great choices for restaurants both across the street (can walk) or drive a little way, under a mile, for some of the best seafood.
Stayed here many times over the years, convenient location. Rooms have been remodeled, which was long overdue. Updates are nice. Always best to request a bayside room since this hotel sits right next to RT. 50 When In the area be sure to check out St. Michaels, assorted food, shops and stores line the Main Street. Something for everyone.
I had a very nice time th the pool area and hot tub area were very well kept and peaceful the bed in our room was king size and it was so comfortable and the hair products for the shower worked very well unlike other hotels their soaps aren't as good and our towels and trash were always picked up since we stayed for four nights we would leave our stuff outside for the ladies to get and they always did right away in the morning the only thing that I did not like was the breakfast a lot of it wasn't really that good besides maybe two of the choices the eggs werenever good but we did get the Bayview so we got a little view of the bay even though there's a giant restaurant right there you can't see over top of it but you can't see the side and it's really pretty since the bed was so comfortable we did have a nice time and we're able to watch a lot of channels on TV with the wifi to it was an overall good experience
I always get a water view room when in the area . The front desk people are always friendly and helpful . Rooms are always clean . Beds are comfortable . Parking is easy and easy to get back in rt 50 either direction .
Check in was very easy. Desk clerk explained where my room was located. I had phoned and requested ground floor room and ground floor was reserved and waiting! Location had a full breakfast which was very good
I stayed here once before earlier in the renovation process. This stay ( about 14 months later) was even better. My room had been totally renovated this time. I was especially impressed with the bathroom, shower/ tub, vanity, etc. Everything seemed new. Everything had been upgraded, as well. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was good ( as it was previously). The only downside to this property is the fact that there is only one elevator. For an older property, it is very nice and extremely clean. The staff were wonderful. I was not impressed with the owner, however, who was at the desk at the time of my check-in. The receptionost was very busy talking with someone on the phone (he had acknowledged me) and the owner stood right there, never even looked up at me, nor did he make any attempt to help his employee at all. I would say the only thing still needing renovation would be the owner's people skills and customer service.
The beds were very comfortable and the view of the water is nice. Breakfast was also very good. We stayed there twice during a one week period. The first visit was perfectly fine; however, the second was not. It was only 13 degrees out and the room did not already have the heat turned on. The room was as cold inside as it was outside. It took 4 hours to get the temperature up to just 66 degrees. The staff was nice, the food was good, the bed was very comfortable, the decor inside the room was tasteful, the room was very clean. Everything was very good except it was freezing.
Friendly, helpful staff, clean room, great bed, beautiful view of the ocean and boats from the room. Close to good seafood restaurants and with convenient breakfast included. Coffee in room, refrigerator/freezer and ice machine make this a convenient stop on a trip to the outlet stores and beaches in Maryland and Delaware. Excellent value.
Great place! Super friendly staff...more than helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and very quiet all for a reasonable cost....even had a nice view of the Narrows! Walking distance to a couple of restaurants / bars. Breakfast was basic but good and hit the spot on a very cold morning. Overall, great place to stay!
I chose this hotel due to the location, and after reading all of the positive reviews. I was extremely pleased, with my entire experience with this hotel. Before my arrival, they emailed me to inquire if I had any special requests. I did ask for a room on the first floor, as I was picking up my new puppy from a breeder in the area. They honored my request, and this made it so much easier to take the pup outside. The room was extremely clean, which is so important to me. The front desk staff was friendly and offered excellent service. I highly recommend this hotel, for it's service and value for your money.
Everyone who I had an encounter with, either in person or via the phone was over-the-top helpful! When we couldn't get a taxi around the time we wanted the wonderful woman behind the desk held our bags and directed us to a restaurant within walking distance while she found more contact numbers for drivers in the area. Had a wonderful weekend, thank you.
We were looking for a one night Get-Away within 1.5-2 hours from home. Lucked onto Best Western Inn at Kent Narrows. Great location - we opted for a room overlooking the Bay with an ensuite Jacuzzi tub. Great choice - so relaxing, peaceful and quite, yet a short drive to Annapolis, Baltimore, DC, Philadelphia, shopping and more. The front desk and staff were friendly, welcoming & accommodating - the Hot Breakfast was a great plus - LOVE Best Western's sausage gravy! Will definitely return, if not for another winter get-away, definitely in the Spring/Summer.
The building is an older motel with doors that open to the outside. The odd number side faces the bay and the even numbers face the highway. The highway side is very noisy and Bay side not as much noise. The rooms are small and need to be updated. The staff that checked us in and worked the breakfast area were very friendly. Breakfast was typical low budget hotel eggs, sausage, breads, cereals and waffles...not great but not bad. Not sure how busy the area gets during summer months but it was fairly quiet and not a lot of people.
We were looking for a little get-away not too far from home on the Chesapeake Bay. Decided on the Kent Island / Narrows area. The Best Western looked great and offered an in-room Jacuzzi (which we prefer if we can get it). This place was wonderful, our room overlooked the bay & marina, the breakfast was an added plus. Great location with in 30 min - 2 hours of Phili, DC, Baltimore & Annapolis. Wonderful staff - Will definitely return!
I stayed at the hotel during our past snow storm called Benji. I had the best sleep ever!!!I turned the heat and it worked marvelously. I snuggled under the blanket that the front desk gave me so courteously. I got my wake up calls on time and the breakfast was divine. Next time I stay I want to bring my swimsuit to take advantage of the hot tub or sauna or indoor pool. I highly recommend this hotel! The staff is so awesome and helpful and the beds are so comfortable. I felt so safe and secure here that I had the best sleep ever in a hotel!
The hotel is in a prime location, across the street from a great seafood restaurant and local entertainment. The front desk staff (Naomi), was so courteous and made you feel so welcomed upon arrival. The staff from grounds keeper to breakfast, was more than accommodating and did their best to make sure your request was granted. Everyone was so friendly and nice. My room was FABULOUS as it included a Jacuzzi. An overall awesome hotel experience and I will definitely tell friends and family.
Great place to stay on the island. Great food and plenty of things to do as well. I would defiantly stay there again in the future. Look forward to returning in the spring for business.Hotel was very clean and staff was AAAAAA+++++
Great customer service-Mary and Naome are awesome. Personal attention to each of us and always axcommodating ensuring that we have all we needed to have a successful usiness review. THey ere always polite and courteous. Their hospitality made our stay a very pleasant one
Excellent Stay! Hotel had been redecorated since my last visit and it was very comfortable. Staff very enjoyable at the front desk and in the breakfast area. Lovely view of the Chesapeake Bay from our room.
The staff was super accomodating, allowed us to check in early for a wedding. Room was super clean and bed was so comfy! Check out was super easy. Near plenty of restaurants. Breakfast was great, coffee really good!
I stayed the weekend of November 10-12 I had a great experience when I checked in with Mary at front desk, the only downfall of the stay was the price of the room in the off season and that I had to park away from the hotel because all the parking was taken, very inconvenient for a guest other than that the stay was good.
We stayed at this hotel for a friends wedding. I was pretty shocked to find out it was over $200 for just one night. But then I figured for that price is must be a really nice hotel - it was not. I will say the bed was comfortable - but the room itself left a lot to be desired (again for the price).
I checked all other motels within a 50 mile radius and this was the best deal. Very easy to get to off the main road. We needed somewhere o stay for one night while heading to a family member's funeral and we are very familiar with the area so this was just perfect.
The hotel was clean, the room was clean. BUT it faced the interstate, so I was awake all night with the noise of the trucks etc. Easy to get in and out of, close to the Bay Bridge. Breakfast was included (buffet)...scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, sausage gravy etc.
A little expensive for being off season. Also got a surprise fee for having a dog with us. I was told hotel was pet friendly, but never was told there was a 50 dollar fee to go with it. Breakfast was good for what it was. Hotel staff were very nice.
Everything at this hotel was great except they were working on the pool and hot tub. I would definitely recommend it. The coffee in the room was weak. There was a good bar and restaurant near there....
Hotel staff were awesome. Clean and comfy beds. Great location. We stay here 2-3 times a year. Free breakfast and wifi. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Lots of places to eat close by. We will be back again.
On the Island for a wedding. Room was comfortable. Good water pressure in shower. Breakfast was more than adequate - good, in fact. Some updating in process. Need a second elevator at the other end of the building. Very convenient to hot spots.
I've stayed at the Grasonville Best Western three times in recent months, and have found the facility clean and comfortable, and the staff very helpful and friendly. It's a very convenient location, with great seafood restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended.
If you can avoid staying here do so! Unfortunately there are a lot of wedding venues by the bay bridge and this is one of the closest hotels. I called back in Jan to reserve a room for the Oct. 14th 2017 wedding. The bride wanted the wedding party to stay here for convenience so there was little I could do. I had requested a king bed room during booking but was told that was never held for me so I got a room with two queens. The wedding block price was $240 A NIGHT! I was shook. I even called back and explained oh no you don't understand I'm the Maid of Honor I get a special wedding discount rate. It was explained to me that I was getting the discounted rate! When I arrived it took 40 mins to get my room because they said my card was declined. They were so sure that it was due to my lack of funds that they asked me to call my credit card company. Visa said they weren't seeing anything even coming through to be declined and my card worked as soon as they restarted their computers. After a short apology the front desk told me they got me a room with a view. I have no Idea what view they were talking about considering the hotel is tucked between a highway overpass and a main road out front. There is only one elevator and set of stairs in the whole place. The other staircase were under construction which they did bright and early starting at 7:30am right outside your door. We were woken up throughout the night from road traffic, drunken returning wedding guests and then construction hammers. The rooms are very dated and your socks will turn black from the carpet. This hotel was AWFUL and I am so pissed I had to pay such high prices for it!
This hotel is over priced and I would not stay here again nor would I recommended it. There was a long check in line with only one person working forcing us to miss our shuttle to the wedding. Because if you call about an early check in they will not give you a straight answer. If you like being woken up before 8 am on Sunday by the sound of jack hammering and banging of metal than check in here right away! Overall not a great experience and I'm disappointed with the money I paid to stay here.
This property is set up with open walk ways and the only window is facing walkway - if you open curtains anyone walking by room will be looking directly into your small room - curtains do not shut out light and bright lights illuminate walkways , making your room bright all night. The bedding is extremely old and yellowed with age. Bathroom was dirty as was carpet in room. There is no closing closet and sink is near bed with no door. Possibly the worst place I have ever slept. If they paid me , I would not spend another night there.
The score is relative to what one expects. Like many BWs, they are Motels. This is not a W or a Hyatt Regency, so dont expect that. For a Best Western it is solid. Room comfort was good, not amazing. Rooms were quiet. Wifi was solid. Shower solid and good water pressure There is a very small indoor pool at Hot Tub
This is a step up from a poor MOTEL. It's not a hotel. You could do a lot better for price and quality at another chain. The room wasn't very well cleaned, the staff wasn't very helpful and the exterior was dirty.
front desk great house keeping great breakfast room great front desk manager great gm great tv works great bathroom works great all the employees go out of there way for us been staying there for 4 years everything is great
We arrived here only to find the rooms are very old and work out and the carpet was very dirty. This is like a motel where the doors open to the parking lot. They have plastic chairs out in front of each room and there were men sitting out there drinking at all hours. The AC would not cool down the room no matter how long we ran it. Staff was very rude and acted very arrogant.
This hotel was just across the street from several restaurants and bars. So it is easy to walk to these places. The room was clean. No towels though. The traffic noise was pretty bad, making it difficult to sleep.
Stay was average. Best part was jacuzzi tub in room, nice and clean. Breakfast horrible.... will need to eat elsewhere. Much nicer Best Westerns to choose from in the immediate area that I have stayed in the past year.
When check-in is 3pm and a guest arrives at 4:50pm, they should not have to wait 30min for a room to be available. When check-in/service delays cause such delays, which cause guests to miss the activity (i.e. wedding ceremony) they traveled to the area to attend, the room cost should be refunded - a free beer is not compensation.
The Very!! best customer experience at any hotel. We were greeted by a fantastic staff who made our stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Mattress and pillows comfortable, large TV mini fridge microwave. Pool little warm but ok.Free parking, and a large selection of restaurants and pubs in walking distance. We will definitely be returning here next year. Kudos to the Inn manager to ensured we had a good time.
we would stay again for the convience to fishermans inn and the charter boat. but we will stay in the front next time. the rate we got because of the charter company was excellent. the pricing was much better than the other inn's on the kent narrows area.
Rooms are clean and the staff very accommodating. Location to great restaurants. Property is a bit 'tired' and could use a complete redo. Room Décor is DARK! Breakfast was above average for this type of breakfast service. Pool area feels unkempt.
We stopped at this Hotel while traveling South on Hwy 301/50 from NY to NC. It is a really nice Hotel that we had seen before while on this highway. The Front Desk Staff could not find our reservation, but They searched & discovered we had mistakenly booked it on Hotels.com instead of our Best Western Membership App. When we got back home Best Western Corporation gave us complimentary points as if I had used the App. "GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE" Our King Room was nice & clean and the bathroom was very clean. The views from the balcony were spectacular. The front desk staff were great in their recommendations for dinner. The Complimentary Breakfast was complete with Waffles, Eggs, & many other items. The Hotel has easy access to & from Hwy 301/50.
We stayed here for a wedding close by and we could not have been happier. The room was rather large and the bed was super comfy and everything was very clean! It was great to be able to feel comfortable in a bed away from home!
Overall it was one of the worst experiences at a hotel that I've had and I stay at them atleast twice a month! Horrible customer service, very rude and obnoxious!! They laughed when I told them they were overcharging me
The rooms were nice. The staff was very helpful. Many kudos to them. The pool area was a disappointment, though it did have a hit tub. No decently priced restaurants close to it. Not much to do in the immediate area.
Check in was excellent, the day time manager Mary was awesome. The rooms on the front of the building are ok if you are on an upper level with sea view. The back side of the building is very dark and depressing. When asked to be moved to the front, Mary was super accommodating and friendly. The decor was dark and one of our rooms had a ton of spiders in the bathroom. Webs behind the door and spiders coming out of the light fixtures. The beds were fair, not good covers. the room also smelled like someone was smoking in a nearby room or adjoining laundry room and it came in through the vents making the room smell like smoke At 2 am someone attempted to kick down one of our doors (we had 2 rooms). The night person at the front desk, Debra just laughed and ignored the complaint. At checkout the person Tim basically called us liars and said that the night person wouldn't laugh about that. Even pictures of shoe marks kicked into the door wouldn't persuade him to comp the night. The breakfast was good and coffee ok. The location is excellent, across from some nice restaurants and a great view if you face the sea. In the rating below, the only reason that I rated service as average was because of Mary, the day time manager. Otherwise if it is Tim or Debra, the service was horrible!
We enjoyed our stay here. Nothing fancy, but a good value with comfy beds and pillows, clean room. Attentive staff. Very quiet rooms, since it's the older style. Well built, with elevator. Outside entrances may not appeal to everyone, but it was not a problem. The area seems very secure. You can see the water from walkway. We were on the 4th floor, nice view from there. Walk to restaurants and bars across a busy street, but walk-able. Breakfast had the usual eggs and sausage offerings, which did not appeal to us, but fruit, waffles and yogurt were all we needed. We plan to stay there again next summer.
Rooms needed upgraded and bed not very comfortable. Smoke smell in non-smoking room was not good for someone with allergies. Great sea food restaurant crossed the road. Hotel was not up to the standards of other Best Western Hotels I have stayed in. The stay was very average.
We picked up our Lincoln sheep in Rock Hall Md. left the farm after 9pm and were happy to find a Best Western. Stayed in our first one in Columbus o. After many yrs of avoiding them. Both were great comfortable ,did not need my own pillow, clean! Missed breakfast which was why we said. Had a hose and water to water the sheep in the trailer. Would stay again.hopefully in off season
great spot right near the inlets. This was our second stay here on the way to see family. The room was clean and the staff very polite and helpful. The pool was o.k., thought it could be a little cleaner. It might not be a big fancy place, but clean, comfortable and quiet was what we got, and thats worth every penny to us. Great staff as well
I booked a premium room expecting a premium experience. No blanket, noisy, sad excuse of a renovated room. For $360, I expected a lot more! I will never return, too many other choices nearby. Decent view and a comfortable mattress, but that is about all that I can say positive.
Lots of smokers and people sitting outside their rooms on walkway smoking and drinking and noisy. We had smokers on both sides of us that we had to walk by to get out of the hotel. At breakfast I just got a cup of coffee and went on my way.
Overall, decent. Friendly staff. Room for improvement in keeping the pool and hot tub in good working condition, in keeping guest room towels stain free, and in offering a wider variety of gluten free options for breakfast.
Had the opportunity to spend a night here, after a weeding in Annapolis. King bed was perfect, tv was big, bathroom and vanity were excellent as well. The staff were sharp and attentive, and very helpful. Parking was plentiful and well lit. Half of the rooms are wayside, but every one has the bay climate, great for the heart, and soul... First time staying here, will definitely make another visit again...top notch inn! Oh yeah...did I mention the KILLER breakfast??? Oh yeah...excellent!
The hotel was conveniently located and staff was very nice. Having a balcony was enjoyable for sitting outside with friends. Several good seafood restaurants are located nearby offering many options for dining.
We enjoyed the cleanliness of the room as well as the comfort of the beds. Also, there were four fluffy pillows on each bed instead of the thin ones in some motels. The tv and internet worked well and the continental breakfast was very enjoyable. Overall, a very nice experience.
Clean hotel. Only complaint was a used soap bar was left in the shower, and a cup of water was left in the bathroom. Rest of unit was clean, staff was kind, grounds were nice. Breakfast buffet was very good.
This area is a hidden gem. Located close to Bay Bridge, nice cluster of seafood restaurants near the hotel - couldn't ask for more. Hotel was reasonably priced, ample parking, clean and updated furniture/fixtures, comfortable bed, nice rooms, friendly staff. I would DEFINITELY make this a stop anytime I am coming from BWI and headed to DE. I am never going to waste my time again dealing with BWI area hotels - that was a huge mistake and disappointment. Since I got to the hotel around 3am - they were MORE than willing to do a late check out if I needed it (which I didn't). Thanks for everything! It was a nice, short stay.
hotel was nice stay pool was so crystal clear as was hot tub and no harsh smell of chemicals that's great thing ! we loved the employee delmar (was his name ) he was friendly and talkative with us . we thought the area was awesome and great food at many of the locations around the hotel
Rooms are just ok...Don't bother paying for the Bayside view because you're just looking at Fishermans Inn restaurant. Some areas like the ice machine/laundry area smell of urine. Crappy fitness area in what used to be a old room they just threw gym equipment in that smells musty. Get to breakfast on time because the staff literally locks the door while you're on the inside and starts cleaning up around you. When you leave a deposit DO NOT use a debit card it will hold up your money for days and you'll wind up having to call your bank. Very dishonest General Manager Mark!!!
Friendliest staff from shift to shift, clean comfortable rooms, amazing night's sleep. What more could you ask for ?! Great location to enjoy seafood and tropical dock bars. A perfect stopping point passing through or a quick get away from home.
I noticed that they where out of breakfast meats at 8:45am. When I asked the attendant, she said there wasn't anymore. My wife is on a doctors diet that requires protein (meat), but no carbs. This forced us to go to a restaurant for breakfast. Very upsetting!!!
Great view of Kents Narrow and waterways. There are dozens of docks and hundreds of boats. Within walking distance there are 5 excellent ( non-chain) restaurants to choose from. All over typical local crab and seafood menus.
Love the updates rooms!! Stayed last year and what an improvement! would like to see more towel bars because one just isn't enough for bath towels and then the beach towels that are used. Breakfast lady wasn't that friendly but did her job. She should have been more helpful to the man in the wheelchair....
This hotel has just been remodeled. The theme is subtly nautical, with blue being the featured color. The breakfast is served in a room that you can only get to from the outside, not from the lobby. All the rooms are accessed from the outside. The breakfast was standard hotel serve yourself, fair quality and variety. The staff is great. While we were there, a tornado came within a mile of the hotel, disrupting the life of the island. Two familes who came to find shelter were telling their stories as I was checking out and the staff was very attentive and caring to these distressed people, which is notable since the staff is local themselves and were possibly also out of power and with property damage. I also liked the staff for being genuinely friendly, not aloof and "professional." How I HATE 'professional." It felt like I was staying at their home.
I experienced the worst customer service imaginable at this hotel. I work in the hospitality industry myself, therefore I understand the behind the scenes and expectations more than your average guest. I also understand that not everything goes according to plan – but a professional and respectful attitude can go a long way. After not receiving the military rate we had booked our room under, even when my brother was present upon check-in with his valid military ID – we were told “take it or leave it” with the $70 upcharge. We get to our room only to be woken up 2 hours later to find our entire bathroom and vanity was flooding from the ceiling and flooding from the bathroom lights. Not only were we concerned about our safety but also that something had happened to the guests above us. Mary, the overnight manager, refused to go upstairs and knock on the door of the guests above. At this point, it is a Wellness Check, as this was far past a ‘complaint' – the flooding was damaging the Hotel property and someone could have gotten seriously injured. “It's not my problem” and “I called, they probably wouldn't answer the door anyways” is the response we received. Mary could not switch us into another room due to a sell out and the ‘whole town' was sold out. I do not doubt the nearby hotels were sold out - but we had a 9 month old baby with us - we were willing to drive a great distance to have a night sleep without fearing the ceiling would collapse or the water was contaminated. Mary was beyond unprofessional and unsympathetic. Instead of making calls to farther away hotels or even placing a few rollaway beds in their conference room space, we received comments such as “You can sleep in the lobby if you're that concerned”, “I don't care”, “What do you want me to do?!?”. I have never experienced such disrespectful behavior from someone within the hospitality industry. I understand the flooding was not the Hotel's fault, but the jaw-dropping comments we received and the little to no effort of finding a solution to the problem was extremely disappointing.
Had a manager that did not care of our safety- the fact that we had a 9 month old baby with us- she said stay in the lobby. After speaking with GM on Monday- he said she should have offered roll away beds and use the conference room. Could not use the bathroom in the room- water had soaked the carpet. Her line was " I don't Care"
We arrived in the area around 6pm. We dinned and my favorite place, Harris Crab House, and then we checked into the Best Western!! The whirlpool tub was amazing and the room and bed was up to date and very nice!! Can't wait to come back!!
Great location, there is everything nearby. Restaurants and bars across the street. Liquor store down the street toward Grasonville, grocery store also down the street. Easy on and off us 50. Room is clean and bright. Nice service
The staff at check in and check out was friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was clean, well maintained, and had enough towels and other accessories. It was nice to have a view of the water and chairs outside to enjoy the view.
Wonderful restaurant !!! Delishous food !! Good wine !! And awesome view of the bay while eating dinner !!! Friendly staff ready to make your lunch or dinner more enjoyable ! One of my favorites is their cream of crab soup !! For lunch they have a yummy Portabella mushroom sandwich !!!
There is some good and then not so good. The good, hotel is centrally located in walking distance to several restaurants and bars. We were looking for seafood and a few drinks and surrounding establishments did not disappoint. The rooms were clean. The bad, only one elevator located outside in an outside hallway at the side of the building. There are 4 floors and when it's busy, it can cause a wait. The staff was hit and miss. Some did not seem to know what they were doing and were not helpful or friendly. Others were great. Overall, I would stay here again, but would check the prices of other close by hotels.
I was in town for a business boating event and needed a room for two nights. The hotel is well located and the staff is extremely nice. If I am ever back in the area, I would stay at this hotel again.
Stayed here for a wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. Looks a little dirty and tired from the outside. Updated rooms were nice. Beds (brand new according to the front desk) were comfortable. Continental breakfast, included with cost of room, included eggs, waffles, sausage, brats, cereal, pastry, muffins, juice, and French toast sticks. Nothing great but edible and filling. We used the indoor pool which was plenty of room for my 3 year old to swim in. Off the pool was also a nice patio if you wanted to have a family meal. All and all decent hotel and saved >$100 over two nights when comparing with the Hilton garden inn and Wedding Venue hotel. Convent location right off Rt.50.
Convenient location if staying in Kent Narrows area or attending a wedding or other function at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is pretty good. Pool is very small but felt refreshing.
I was a little off put by the lack of elevator and having to climb up four flights of stairs to my room, but was very pleased that the AC was working so well that I cooled off from that workout in no time! I had no complaints with my room. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the shower nice. There was plenty of space for two people and even a couch. I would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity.
I was very pleased with the room. The later front desk personnel was very friendly and informative. It was quiet on the Bay side with a beautiful view. Access to necessity stores, specialty coffee, and fun. A fun area to visit.
Good location. priced high for weekend, marginal facilities. Motel 6 facility price with Wyndham price. Had medical emergency and staff referred me to opposite direction of urgent care facility. Hotel served its purpose for an in and out stay.
Staff was helpful and courteous. The breakfast was great. The room was clean. The location was convenient to amenities. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. The pool was nice. The lobby was clean and offered popcorn and lemonade upon arrival.
My friend and I stayed here for a few nights in January 2017. We were visiting Washington DC and wanted an affordable place to stay near the D.C. Public transportation system. This hotel is quick drive to the last stop on the Silver Line. Kent Narrows is a beautiful location to stay. This hotel was inexpensive, clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were very clean, and the room came with a microfridge and microwave. The best part of this hotel is it's convenient location. There are several bars and restaurants (all with very good food) within walking distance. Beautiful views of the harbor! Note: This hotel was just off the highway. We were on the Harbor side of the hotel, and so we weren't bothered by traffic noise. However, I can imagine that the highway side might be noisy. Ask for a harbor side room!
Despite being in a very scenic area along the Chesapeake Bay , don't come here expecting a nice view. There is a swamp in the back of the hotel and nothing to look at in front of the hotel. My father-in-law made arrangements to pre-pay for my room but they still charged my card at the end of the stay. You wouldn't expect this level of incompetence from a place that charges $350 a night.
Appears to be a older structure which was newly updated, clean, next to noisy highway, breakfast included. No suites, one elevator at the end of the bldg. not convenient, near restaurants and shopping center
This Best Western was not as bad as some I've seen, the room was clean, the buffet style breakfast was good. The fitness area was tiny with a treadmill, elliptical, recumbent bike and a 30-pound dumbells tree. Returning guest could be clearly heard at night and the road noise was ever present. This is a motor lodge, its good for an overnight along the way, but I would not recommend it for extended stays.
I came in to town for a charter fishing day. I arrived at 11 pm and was met by friendly, professional people. I got a great view from my 3rd floor room. Good breakfast and even checking out at 4 AM was well taken care of by the staff. I will be back!
I thought the room was perfect, it was clean, the front desk staff was very polite. The view of the Chesapeake was nice, the area is surrounded by tasty restaurants. It was an impromptu trip and well worth not having to drive back across the bridge
We made reservation for 2017 in 2016 Looking for same 1st floor room we stayed in in May of 2016. Arrived and the room was some kind of storage room so we had to get room on 2nd floor. Acceptable but not exactly what we wanted. New room design does not have table and two chairs by window. We miss that. We are staying again in 2018.
I made a reservation and then cancelled it within two weeks, three months before the reservation dates. Before the original reservation dates, while traveling abroad, I checked to make sure there was no reservation and there was not. My credit card was charged nearly $500 anyway.
I just got back from a 2 night stay at this Best Western and got a mixed bag when it came to the service. I had changed my reservation due to a scheduling conflict but they didn't have my updated reservation information in their system. That was not a big deal but, as I was waiting for the manager to come approve the change, another member of the staff followed behind the manager and was loudly yelling at him about various things that seemed to be mostly nonsense. Then she repeatedly yelled that God didn't make a perfect person about 20 times without stopping. This was right beside us, yelling staff member on our side of the desk and cowering manager behind the desk. No apologies or even acknowledgement of our existence in this super uncomfortable situation was made. The two parties eventually went to the back but the yelling was still very loud. Finally the person checking us in went back and asked them to quiet down. It was a ridiculous spectacle.
Stayed in a decent renovated room. Hotel priced comparable to others around but in Best Western you get the Jacuzzi tub which was nice. Room nicely furnished but tub faucets would not turn off unless positioned a certain way which was odd for a newly renovated room. Bed not too comfy either but everyone will have a different opinion on this. Sheets were clean and room smelled fresh. Breakfast was really good too, view was beautiful!
Good place to stay. Restaurants and bars in walking distance. Room are clean with a refrigerator and microwave and they got me into the room 6 hours before listed check in time. I will be going back soon
Everything was good with this hotel except for the price. Staff was very nice, room was clean, beds comfortable, breakfast was good. I was staying here because we were attending a wedding in the area. We are seniors living on a fixed income.
First, let me say I am here on business and have been here for 3 weeks so far. The accommodations are above average as the hotel is totally renovated with new rooms and amenities. The Sales Manager, Mary and front desk personnel; Kara, Tim, Amber, Deja, & Delmar are excellent. They are friendly, knowledgeable of the area for things to do, and make you feel welcome. The views on the South side are breathtaking in the morning and evening, being able to see the bay during sunrise and sunset. They have an indoor pool and hot tub as well.
bit noisy due to the highway close by. staff was perfect, good clean hotel, new bathrooms. Tim, the lobby gentleman was more then great. just starting up their newly renovated rooms so small Inconveniences who will be more smooth within the next couple of weeks
Stayed here 1 night on the way home nice clean room and friendly staff. For future renovations or construction have contractors cover work materials with tarps. Other than that had an excellent view of the bay able to walk across street for wonderful food.
Small motel that was recently updated and clean. Good for a quick visit to the shore. Views of the fishing boats coming in from a day on the water were quaint and lovely. Would not want to be here for an extended stay, however very convenient and in walking distance to restaurants and crab shacks
For a number of years, some of my Princeton classmates in the D.C. area get together for a trophy striped bass fishing trip. We stay over the night before have dinner, get up early, leave at 5:30 AM and drive to Kentmore Marina for the 6 AM departure. My reservation was messed up by another (unmentioned) motel, so at the last minute I had to bunk with one of my buddies. He had booked a single, but the staff quickly changed it to a double, with two beds, (much to our mutual relief), and were very pleasant about this change. Then they asked if we were going fishing the next morning. When we told the clerk we were, she told us that breakfast normally stars at 6:30 AM, but for fellows going fishing, they pack a little carry away breakfast, and it would be waiting for us at 5:30 AM. After dinner, at the Fisherman's Inn right across the road, my friend still had to watch the ice hockey game, but couldn't find it on TV. The front desk walked him through the TV control, and he found the game. Our wake-up call came on time, and as promised, each of us had a "bag breakfast" of an apple or orange, a cup of yogurt, a few cookies and a bottle of water, plus access to the coffee machine with take away cups. This place was amazingly accommodating. The room was clean, tidy, and quiet. A great place to stay.
I was a little hesitant about staying here, but it turned out to be a very nice hotel. The room was clean. We had a great view of the bay. The staff was extremely nice. Breakfast was good, saves a bit of money. Great restaurants within walking distance. Only 2 complaints: fan vent was very dusty and AC/heating was noisy, but we would definitely stay here again.
Had a wonderful night. Will definitely stay again. Short walk to places we wanted to go. Comfortable bed, quiet area. Front desk staff was friendly and informative about the area and local hot spots. Can't wait to stay again
I stayed at the Best Western in Kent narrows for a week while I was working at the Bay Bridge. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. There are several bars and restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable.
Courteous and kind staff, very helpful. Grounds and rooms were nice . Redecorated rooms where done with tasteful colors and nice amenities all in all a good stay and would definitely come back . The clerk at the front desk was extremely nice and very helpful . Mary was kind and extremely helpful .
We spent the weekend at the Best Western on Kent Island. It is within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. We usually go to Kent Island by boat during the summer, this is the first time staying in a hotel there. This is a budget hotel with incredibly nice workers and it is clean. Many if not all of the rooms have been remodeled in the last year of so. The free breakfast was full of anything you wanted and they kept bringing more food. I didn't use the pool but an indoor pool in February was a welcome sight. The off season price of February was very affordable. We walked to every place we needed to go. The elevator was a little unusual, There was only one and it was outside at the end of the building, we used the stairs most of the time. Overall for the price, it was a bargain and we will go back in February of next year.
I gave this hotel 3 stars because the staff is extremely friendly, front facing rooms have an excellent view, and the room was clean. That being said, check in was really slow even considering I prepaid for the room. Once I entered the room, it was spacious and clean, however, there was a strong musty/stale odor to the room which I found a bit offending. Another thing that really bothered me is the carpet was wet. Not sure what was going on with that. I only stayed for one night, and even though the stay wasn't completely bad, I doubt if I would stay here again.
Great stay, very pleasant view, staff super friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable, had a great nights sleep.. Clean, Friendly, restaurants near by, parking in from of my room. Great breakfast area... Easy access from highway.
First room, overwhelming smell of "carpet fresh", back of hotel no security cameras, all rooms accessed from creepy outdoor elevator on side of building. Next room in front of hotel, but had only a desk chair. Before booking I was told that all rooms had a sofa or comfortable chair, which was important since I was traveling alone and would be spending the whole evening in the room. I asked them to try to find one but no one got back to me. The heating unit just kept running and running. I got sick from it continually blowing on me. Finally had to turn it off in the night and put a sweatshirt on. Breakfast buffet had "scrambled eggs" that were the texture af a lukewarm shredded wet kitchen sponge. I thought maybe it was a one-off, but nope, they were just as bad the next day. They did have some yogurts. I would not recommend this hotel
The hotel stall was very very nice and helpful. I stay in a hotel about 150 nights a year. This was one of the best overall staffs that I been around. There was a staff member making waffles for people and waiting on us.
Excellent location right over the bridge on Kent Island.and across the str eet from excellent seafood restaurants (Fisherman's Inn, and Bridges) Beautiful room and especially appreciated lamp connections for our phones. Bathroom small but adequate and clean. Perfect location for shopping at the Outlet Mall
The location is great, just across the Kent Narrows bridge from Kent Island. A seafood restaurant is next door. You have great views of the bay, if your room is on the bay side. On the other side, you have a view of highway 50. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast room was small and crowded. The rooms are on exterior hallways, meaning you have to walk outside to get to the breakfast area. I thought there was a problem with my bill, which I only noticed after arriving home, so I corresponded with Marc, the GM, via e-mail and he was very helpful and resolved the problem.
This place is absolutely no doubt in my mind one of the best hotels I've stayed at in many many years from calling in and placing my reservation I talked to Heather a very nice professional lady. She helped me with making my reservation, I even called back several times to add and change many things to my reservation and she was just an absolute help. When I checked in Heather also checked me in. She was just as bubbly in person as she was on the phone, she welcomed me the second I walk to the door. She reviewed my reservation and noticed that I was not a Best Western rewards member and then proceeded to tell me all of the wonderful advantages becoming a member, so she signed me up even upgraded my room to an immaculate view. The breakfast was absolutely amazing so many different options to choose from. All of the staff that I had came in contact with are absolutely wonderful and very helpful . I will be back for future stay and I highly recommend this to anybody that's looking for a room on Kent island!!!
I had a wonderful nights stay here. It could t have been an easier check in. Only down side is not a very large parking area in front couldn't park car in sight from room. Other than that, It was wonderful. The lady at the front desk was very presentable, very informative, helpful and professional. And I would recommend this to anyone in the area! After the sleep inn down the road tried to charge me 250$ for a one night stay in a basic room, I found this a dew miles away and couldnt have been happier!
Let me just say that Heather is amazing!! She helped my with my check in and also my check out. She is very friendly and does her job accordingly. She was so busy between the phones, guest, and taking in orders from the delivery guys that she still maintained her time and attention to every one perfectly!! The room was beautiful and my breakfast was outstanding!!! I did not get a chance to us the pool but it looked. We plan to come back again next year for our 2nd anniversary and I hope Heather is there to assist me as she did an amazing job, we loved her!!
I must say the staff is welcoming and full of wonderful hospitality. I mention Ralph & Niki because they both stood out as extremely professional and welcoming. Ralph is professional and has a tireless work ethic. He does a great job, even on Thanksgiving day! Niki was professional, welcoming and helpful and was also working on Thanksgiving day! We have stayed here before and I was blessed with Niki helping me that last visit also. We enjoy staying here for several reasons. The indoor pool and hot tub are clean and ready and waiting for our visit. The staff has a wonderful attitude. Others have also mentioned the breakfast experience is a pleasure to wake up and enjoy.
This is an OLD motel which has been spruced up with new paint, updated bathroom fixtures, etc. The beds were clean and comfy. The pool looked gross and had some kind of oily film floating on the top of the water. However, the breakfast was amazing for the usual free breakfast. I have never seen as good a selection of entrees. The lady who was the breakfast manager was so nice. The Fisherman Inn restaurant across the street was really good and such a nice surprise after a long drive. I would probably not stay there again, however. The view of the water across the street is very nice.
First off let me just say that this is a very beautiful hotel from walking into the lobby to the cheerful staff behind the front desk and in the beautiful rooms I am astonished at the new renovations at this hotel has went under. The rooms are absolutely beautiful the beds are so comfortable ?? The breakfast is absolutely amazing I love how there's so many options to choose from whether you want hot foods cold foods or just a bagel they have everything that you absolutely need. The pool is a plus for my kids. When checking out Heather was behind the desk and she was just as cheerful and happy and delighted she asked me how everything was with my stay and I told her that it was absolutely gorgeous that we will be coming back. She is very friendly and an absolute sweetheart.
The continental breakfast was the star. After that....not impressed. Overpriced for what you get. You have to go outside to get anywhere in hotel which wouldn't be bad if there were proper lighting. Its pretty dark, no security cameras. Front desk told me many people party at the club's across the street and rather than drive they stay there So up front I was told beware of drunks...which came in to play at 2:30 a.m. when 3 stood outside my door and argued. My biggest complaint was the handicapped accessible room. First, it was on the 3rd floor! How safe is that in case of fire when elevator is not an option? Inside the only accommodation was a bigger bathroom with a grab bar in the shower but all fixtures were the same. It was not handicapped accessible for a person in a wheelchair. The bathtub/shower was the standard so a wheelchair bound person was unable to access it. Overall...not someplace I would stay unless the Holiday Inn Express around the corner was full.
In spring of 2016 this hotel underwent renovations. We stayed here in Oct 2015 and again in July 2016. The renovations are nice, but let me tell you, the new mattresses are HEAVEN. Our whole group that we came with remarked how great their nights sleep was. Surprisingly several of us took the sheets off to see what brand the mattress was. I actually called Marc who is the General Manager there. He was super and gave me information on the mattress. They are Serta, and special made for Hotels. He went as far as to give me some contact information to see how a guest can purchase Hotel mattresses. We will be ordering one of these Very very soon!!!. Thanks Marc. My back appreciates your help ??
This is a great place to stay even if its just for the weekend. Great restaurants all around, set on the water, great food great view. For those who have never visited the Eastern Shore this is a great place to stop and visit. Very friendly people who will be more than happy to make sure your stay is great.
The hotel was good, but the service was excellent. Niki was the standout as she helped us with the check in process, and interacted several times. Always helpful and friendly and on the last day, our rental car would not start, and she personally provided a jump to start our car.
We arrived late unexpectedly and were given great service by Kara (although we could have booked it cheaper online - we were just tired). The room was loud. The toilet and shower could have been MUCH cleaner. The breakfast is so much better than the Best Western in Annapolis. This motel seems to be undergoing changes, as they are painting the outside and freshening it up. (We would like to see the local art brought back, though!) The indoor pool looked clean and was by a lovely mural, but we did not use it.
Clean Rooms, Friendly Staff and excellent full buffet breakfast. Stayed 6 days - 4th floor, would have been a beautiful view - but it rained the complete time I was there. A bit expensive - but guess you paying for the location... Would definately recommend it.
Basic room, clean but nothing memorable. Bathroom is tiny and basic. Check in was slow, I wasn't in any hurry but not sure why it seemed to take 5 to 10 minutes when I already had a reservation. Not sure that I would stay here again as there are other options in the area
The service, quality of the room, and my overall experience at this BW location was very good, if not surprising. When looking for a moderately-priced, budget hotel, this location will not disappoint.
We stayed at a comfort suites in the middle of nowhere Indiana for $99 a night and it was very nice! This hotel is on the bay near Baltimore and was just OK... and was $200 a night! I understand you pay for the location but it definitely felt like they knew they wouldn't have any problems filling the hotel for whatever price they want to charge. For $200 a night I expect a lot nicer place, but you're kind of stuck I guess when you are by water... and they know it. No complaints about the staff... but its definitely the party place where every stays to walk to the bars. The pool was FREEZING COLD and unusable (weather was in the 70's and 80's). We passed a drug deal on the balcony one day. Rooms didn't feel very home-y or clean but they passed as 'good enough'. Definitely felt like i was overcharged for what I got. I was there for a wedding so I didn't have much choice on where to stay. It was here or $300 a night for the Hilton. Too rich for me...
The room was clean, bed comfortable. Bedding and pillows could use an upgrade for the cost of the room. It is a motel not a hotel. Staff was not responsive to request for additional bedding. One skimpy blanket only. The hot breakfast was good and served in a clean sunny room.
Wife and I just returned from a 4 day stay for Trawler Fest (boat show). Rate was $102 per night plus tax. Hot breakfast was very nice. Plenty of everything. The exterior of this BW is showing a bit of age and isn't far from a facelift. The room itself was fine. Nice new large HDTV. Comfy beds and pillows. Clean rooms however had a bit of difficulty with the toilets (didn't seem to want to flush properly) Front desk staff was friendly but very, very slow at check in and out. I also want to thank the young man from the maintenance staff that gave us a battery jump with his jumper cables using his personal car. He went out of his way to help us and refused the $10 tip that we offered. I had left the lights on our rental car during a rain storm the previous night. Thank You for your kindness young man. Thank You VERY much.
Our check-in experience was pretty awful. We were tired, and the process took forever. The room was basic, but clean. The breakfast was good. The pool was great - nicely heated. Location was safe, but a bit noisy.
A wonderful 2 night stay. Bay side view was so nice, seeing water and a marina. Many different restaurants, all seafood, no fast food, around. Office staff super friendly and accommodating. Popcorn in the lobby in the early evening. Warm pool and whirlpool, and coin laundry on premises. Microwave and small refrigerator rooms. Lovely area just a few miles from Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Staff were helpful and gave me a later check-out time. I made return reservations as I checked-out.
We stayed one night in Kent Island after a wedding in Annapolis in September. It was a cute little town with restaurants/bars overlooking the water. Everyone was very friendly at the hotel and we were able to check in about an hour early. All the restaurants were in walking distance. The room was very clean and we had a great view from our room! Great spot for sunset.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. It's literally across the street from some amazing restaurants and bars. Perfect home base for exploring the area. The hotel was very clean and the staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I loved the dark colors in the rooms; very cooling! A little pricey though.
Was visiting a friend and after several drinks decided I needed to get a room because the drive home was too long. This hotel was close and available and the room was clean comfortable and quiet. The breakfast in the morning was great too. Would stay there again.
Don't stay here. The property is not updated. AC didn't work and clothes were wet in AM due to humidity in the room. Hot tub didn't work & mgr. was unresponsive. Cleaning staff skipped our room. High rates and very poor property conditions. Stomach upset after eating in over-crowded and hot breakfast room.
I reserved 20 rooms for our wedding at this hotel. This hotel didn't charge us for reserving rooms! the Hilton wanted to charge additional $250 to keep our rooms!Best Western even gave us some additional rooms! Becky was super easy going and worked efficiently ! The front desk staff each time I called where very accommodating, easy to talk to and respectful to my guests. Rooms were standard nothing special good views of the Kent narrows area!
The place is run down and very disappointing. The rooms make a cheap hotel look good....they are very runs down and in need of updating. Electrical outlets did not work. The electronic door locks kept breaking and we had trouble getting back into our room every time we tried to do so. We had to have maintenance come up to our room to get us in....what a waste of time and a pain in the butt. Stay elsewhere!
We checked in on Saturday, September 2nd, 2016. The room charge was $199 as we were there as part of a set of rooms blocked off for a family wedding. We got to our room and quickly realized we would not be staying. The rooms were extremely dark because the walls were painted navy blue. The furnishings were old and although the bathroom appeared to be clean, the toilet would not consistently flush. There was one common balcony that went across the whole building. Each room had two plastic chairs in from of the window on this common balcony. The neighbors were sitting in their chairs smoking, which was a problem for us. The front desk clerks were extremely nice, however they said that because we had technically checked in, we could not get our money back. Since there was no way that we were going to spend another second at this hotel, we cut our losses and went across the street to the Hilton Garden Inn.
Although the area influences the cost of motels, unlike other Best Western Hotels that I have used, I didn't consider this one to be a good value and the attitude of the staff certainly didn't help either. At one point I had to ask myself who is paying who?
Nice room, although overpriced for a Best Western due to location. Breakfast was good although small room got very crowded. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a fridge and microwave. Would stay again if in the area.
We stayed 2 nights. Staff friendly and helpful!! Made suggestions on what to do & where to go. The hotel is a little dated. They are working on updates. I loved The blue walls in the room. The pool was nice temp, but hot tub needs attention. Half of the jets don't work & it's more of a "warm" tub. There is s patio deck out from the pool which is very nice! Benches and chairs, lovely green foliage. Breakfast is nice, hot, nothing super excited. One elevator at the FAR end of the hotel. Unless your room is one the 4th, maybe the 3rd, don't pay for bay view. If you do, you'll have a great view of the fisherman's inn. Awesome restaurants in walking distance. Beds are comfy. The pictures are from the 4th floor & across the street.
Stayed 5 nights for a vacation had a great time, great service and staff. The view from our room and balcony was splendid ! Location is great, price was good compared to other hotels in the area. Swimming poll was perfect. The breafast was excellent.
Reserved 4 weeks in advance for King with view, 2 nights, two people. Confirmed reservation 2 days before arrival. I was assured all was ready for us. Guess what? Ended up in a double on the parking lot. 10% discount on a $500. 00 bill. Small , cramped and noisey. On the plus side....clean. Location is great. That is all.
This was a girl's night out and the location was terrific. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. Great stay and great value. The free breakfast was one of the best I have been offered at a hotel. Hot and cold dishes and plenty of strong coffee.
We only booked here because it was the only option that wasn't booked completely. It was cheapest around, but also the least quality. The room wreaked of mildew and mold. Thankfully we were here for a wedding, so only slept for about 4 hours and then were gone the rest of the time. It's in a central location. The room was quiet since the air conditioner drowned out the outside noise. The front desk staff was very friendly, and we didn't partake in breakfast.
loved this place...staff was wonderful and courteous. room was clean and updated...view of the bay was breathtaking. will definately stay at best western again!!! oh and can;t leave out the great location around great restaurants
The room itself was okay. There's been an honest attempt to update it. The bed was comfy. The room was clean but the bathroom had the oddest smell, musty or something. The air conditioner was a 7 out of 10. The girl who checked us in didn't seem happy to see us, if not bothered we we're there. Convenient to restaurants.
I have stayed here in in the past and have always been satisfied with the experience. Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Lots of parking, pool and spa are a plus. Good selection of places to eat close by.
You can't beat the location of this Best Western. Rooms have been recently renovated and very clean. Our only complaint would be that the air conditioning unit wasn't getting as cool as we would have liked considering it was 96 degrees outside. Other than that the stay was perfect and the service was super friendly!!
We were here for a family wedding in Stevensville at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. It was about 15 minutes from the venue and easy to get to. Lots of dinner restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are newly remodeled. Comfortable beds in our king room. Fridge, microwave in the room. Ice and soda vending on every floor. Did some laundry in the laundry facilities here. Old machines, but they worked. Very, very friendly staff! Coffee and popcorn in the lobby. Breakfast was good. Pre-made Cheese omelet, waffle makers, juice coffee, bagels, toast, sausage, yogurt and biscuits and gravy. I had an omelet and a waffle and both were good. I would stay here again for sure!
Make over since last yrs visit was very nice. Asked for a King bed got a Queen. Rooms Very clean A/C nice and cold. Love that Hotel is walking distance from everything Bars on the water beautiful Bayside Sunsets, Crab Deck right across the street.
I stayed here on a Monday. The staff at the front desk were very friendly, and the room was clean. They had a deal for $84. You just can not beat that deal with all they have to offer, and with all the restaurants nearby.
My family stayed here one night while visiting friends in the area. Check in was friendly and quick. Our room had two queen size beds, both comfortable. Also a flat screen tv, desk and small bathroom. All were clean and relatively updated. There is an indoor pool and breakfast. The only drawback is the lovely view of the highway but that really isn't a big deal. It is close to restaurants and marinas. We would stay here again.
An upgrade gives you a view of the gorgeous Bay. All rooms open to outside. Get a room on level four or three for a nice morning walk around and view. Even rooms on otherside, although facing highway are quiet too and as my husband said, "we're just sleeping in the room anyway." Rooms are clean and nice nothing special, frig and micro, blow dryer, iron, small coffee pot. BREAKFAST for "full continental" was EXCELLENT! Whip cream, strawberry waffle batter & regular, almond milk, chocolate syrup, good sausage and decent scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy. The nicest people work in breakfast room. Crab Shack across the street was delightful with FRESH shell fish and good prices. Quite an experience even for us west coasters. Beautiful drive and only 25 minutes from Annapolis, worth the distance and savings.
The location is awesome - walking distance to restaurants and water. The views on the water side are incredible and well worth paying extra for. The service from the front desk people and the cleaning ladies was generally outstanding. A small incident kept me from rating it a 4: Upon returning from dinner, the door lock wouldn't work. I went down and had the key cards redone, but they still wouldn't work. A half an hour later (waiting in 90 degree heat), the manager finally took the lock off of the door so that I could get in to pack my stuff to move to another room. I expected some sort of campion for my trouble, but was offered none. This affirms my normal practice of mostly staying at Marriott branded hotels.
I was told check in was 3:00 PMwhen I called the hotel the day before mty arrival. I arrived at 2:45 and was told check is was at 5:00 and that a mistake was made when I was told 3:00. We needed to be at a wedding at 6:00 and I specifically picked this hotel because of the check-in time. I was told for about $20.00 more they might be able to find something. 10 minutes later and $20.00 extra dollars out of my pocket 5 rooms opened up. I think this is a scam and I was taken advantage of.
Very nice - great location - clean and friendly! Fantastic view of the harbor and boats and water from our front balcony. Wonderful restaurants and close to Annapolis. Charming, and scenic little island and very good hotel - and price.
Disappointed that no longer pet friendly!!! Hopefully, they will change and set aside a number of rooms for Senior travelers who have the ability to pay a little extra for their small dog - easily limit to 40 pounds. Follow the lead of a few high end hotels who welcome pets and the added revenue
horrible service . Staff was rude rooms were dirty .No one in our room block had a good experience . On two occasions people returned to their rooms and found strangers sleeping the room .The staff seemed overwhelmed.
Stayed here for a long weekend. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The recent renovations are complete and the rooms are very nice. We were in 407 facing the bay and the Fisherman's Inn. The odd numbered rooms are on the bay side. The location is good for places like the Fisherman's Inn, the Crab Deck, the Jetty and other local hot spots. It's a short walk to all of them. We will be returning soon.
Paid extra for the 'bay view' room. Had a view of the front of the hotel awning! Front desk gave me another room but only after arguing with me over what their ads say....online says bay view, they say at hotel bay side. Had to take 2 of the wash clothes down to front desk to ask for more, they had mold stains on them. This hotel won't see me again!
We have stayed in the hotel several times a year for the last ten 10 years. Average hotel but it's clean and the front desk has always been extremely friendly and welcoming. And the location is fabulous...great bars and restaurants right across the street. Called to make a reservation tonight and was informed that pets are no longer allowed. I was quite disappointed as we usually have our small dog with us when we travel. The clerk was obnoxious about the change...could have cared less and was very rude in her attitude about the whole thing. What has happened to your friendly clerks? And why the change in the pet policy?
Stayed for one night with my girlfriend over Memorial Day Weekend 2016. Typically, we stay in Renaissance/JW Marriott but obviously those types of options do not exist here. But wow, we were both very pleased with the condition of the room, particularly the comfort level of the bed. I suffer from three herniated discs and mattress quality is extremely important. We will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future.
A restful night's sleep after a long day of travel. The front desk gentleman was helpful, checked us in promptly, and gave us directions for morning breakfast. The room was large and very pleasant in every way.
I believe in Best Western, I only use Best Western, for business and pleasure. This year, we had 9 rooms booked for our fishing trip at the Chesapeake Bay. The majority of my party had rooms on the second floor, were a wedding party got out of control, very noisy during the night, the hotel failed to take action. If the desk clerk is a coward, hire security, or call the Police. We were promised to go bags in the morning as we leave before breakfast is served, no bags, clerk had no knowledge she was to prepare any. The check out process was very slow and painstaking. It took 30 minutes to check out 9 rooms, next year, you got may card, I'm walking. Like I said, I believe in Best Western, we have stayed at this hotel this time each year for several years, we are in the 7th year of the Chesapeake Bay Fishing Trip, we have always had excellent service with best Western, and at this location. I'm certain, Best Western not liking these comments, we will find better service next year, Best Western is good at cleaning up their act.
The staff was very helpful. Gave great directions to the wedding we were attending. They have a very nice breakfast nook down in the lobby that had just about everything you would want from a hotel. We will definitely be back to stay again!!!
On a last minute whim, we made a reservation. Lowest rate we could find with availability. One side faces Rte 50. The other side faces several seafood restaurants and a marina. Fortunately, we had the latter. Room was ok. Everything about it was ok, except there were several wedding parties staying there. Quite noisy. Front desk staff were quite nice. Except we got back to the hotel about 4 PM to find that the room had not been cleaned. 'Well, you call to ask us to clean it.' And then, when we returned from dinner, the room keys did not work.
Friendly staff and very clean! Great price! I wish they would still let your dogs visit as well. I would highly recommend to anyone coming for a weekend/weekday stay. Very quiet and convenient. It's always a pleasure to stay here. Feels like home the way the staff treats everyone!
Hotel is in a great location, the View of the Bay is amazing. Rooms recently redone and very nice. This was not my first stay at this hotel and it will not be my last. I was away for business but able to bring my son. He can't wait to go back!
I just stayed at the Best Western Kent Narrows over memorial day weekend, the front office staff (Ciara) I believe was her name was extremely helpful and sweet! She deserves a raise for excellent customer service! The rooms were very nice, clean, quiet for sleeping. Loved that it was within walking distance of awesome restaurants and bars! The absolute best thing about my stay was that I unfortunately realized 3 hours into driving back to Kentucky that I left my $75 pillow in the hotel room! I was so bummed that I had left it there, but the manager shipped my pillow to me 2 day priority shipping! That is awesome customer service!! If i'm ever back in Maryland I will definitely be staying here! :)
We had two rooms, different floors which wasn't expected but okay. We loved that we were able to have the views of the Bay instead of Route 50. Upon arrival our rooms were not available. We didn't mind too much, we just went to have have a late lunch across the street, by the time we were done, the rooms were ready. Beds were SUPER comfortable and rooms very clean. The air condition unit in our room wouldn't stay on but did keep the room cool when it was running. Would recommend hotel.
Conveniently located off 301 near good restaurants and harbor location. Have stayed here before and always satisfied with service. Love Fisherman's Inn across th street. Great Happy Hour. There is an elevator which makes it easier especially for those with stair issues.
After a very long 10+ hour drive this late-night stop was very welcome. The front counter staff both late-night and morning were very pleasant and efficient in checking me and my family in and out. The beds were extremely comfortable and provided a very much needed good night's sleep. It was the best night's sleep I had gotten in a long time.
The good, the bad & the ugly: We'll start with the good: In fairness, they have a great breakfast (for a chain hotel) and good water pressure in the bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised that the towels were not thread bare - surprisingly thick. Also, the location is good. We had to stay here to attend a wedding hearby, but there are plenty of other options (as long as you're here when there are not 7 weddings on the same day!). The bad: Long lines at check in and many people's rooms were not ready. Ours was. We came in to find beds with fitted sheets that were too small, so they were bulging off the mattress. We tried to fix them but they were pulled so tight in an attempt to fit on the beds, we figured we'd make do. We awoke the next morning all caught up in the sheets that of course came off and we'd slept on the bare matttress all night. Yuck. Also, the TV didn't work - no signal - and no one else from the maintenance staff could get it to work. Yes we had a TV, but no it didn't work. We reported the problem. No luck. We had people knocking at our door at midnight, people smoking outside the room at 2AM, which the HVAC system pulled right into our room so we awoke to the smell of cigarette smoke, and then at 4AM the noise from the room next door started. I agree with other reviews that the walls are paper thin. Everyone was talking about it in the breakfast room. The ugly: For the price we paid for our room, I would have expected better value. I would say, if you have a choice, try another place down the street.
An older but well maintained roadside inn serving Kent Narrows marina area. Rooms have outside entrances and are nicely updated, pleasant and good sized. Standard breakfast fare included. Limited public amenities but does include indoor pool. Staff are very welcoming.
Great rooms, value and service! Great helpful staff! Great location of the hotel. Great views from Balcony! Rooms were updated with new carpets, freshly painted, new beds. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Look out from rooms to boats and water views. Across the street are great seafood restaurants with great prices.
Rooms are satisfactory. Breakfast offers good variety and tasty food. Good location near highway, marinas, and restaurants. We had an unfortunate experience due to other guests who noisily partied late into the night next to us. The staff did address the problem at the time.
We were pleased to see that improvements and upgrades have been made since our last visit in late 2014. So, this review is short. Everything we used or enjoyed worked. Simply and well, though aging. WiFi worked effortlessly without dropping. The desk staff was very courteous, cheerful and efficient. The whirlpool, which we used soon after arriving, was just right for two to stretch out in. The Fisherman's Inn across the road is the lure to this hotel, and we have not been unhappy with our choice of this hotel. A nice touch in the standard-fare complimentary continental breakfast is that it starts at 6:30 am, which helped get us into the Washington traffic early. On-and-off access to US 50 couldn't be easier.
Airconidtioner in the room not working correctly. Refrigerator door - kept finding it open - wasted food Room very dark, TV brighter than lights TV - Cable service disrupted and not fixed. Outside of hotel dirty and unkept. Sheets didnt fit the beds....had to keep slipping them back on the matress Breakfast good. CheckIn good. Pool was closed. No notice on that until arrival. Stairwell closest to room closed.
Well as I read the reviews before my stay, I was a little apprehensive going in. I'd like to say the hotel construction was non existent and the rooms were fantastic. The cleanliness and comfortable beds were awesome. The staff was very friendly and one I remember was Dianne P at the frontdesk. She was so welcoming and obviously enjoyed the people she met coming in the door. The breakfast provided rated as well as most we go too. There's only so much you can serve in that environment, the staff person Judy did a great job. So I hope this review lessens any anxiety one may have with reading previous renovation reviews.
The refrigerator did not work and there was no trashcan. Other than that, everything was good. There is not much to do in the immediate area, but the surrounding restaurants and bars are good. We were there for the Bay Bridge Boat show. The parking lot gets very full and hard to find parking when the hotel is completely booked. Overall, it is a good place to stay if you are looking for a room in that area.
We've stayed at this hotel before, but not for quite a few years. It's being renovated. Our third floor room was newly renovated and very nice, although the new drapes were already torn. We were there for only one night and didn't experience any noise from the renovations. This hotel is NO LONGER PET FRIENDLY as noted by management in their reply to a recent review. We weren't traveling with a pet but will be doing so in the near future, and I asked about this at the desk. The problem was with coffee and breakfast. I asked if coffee was available before 6:30 AM (when breakfast starts) and the desk clerk pointed out the coffee machines in the lobby. My husband went down about 5:45 the next morning to get some. There were no cups, and nobody was at the desk. We tried the coffeemaker in the room - there were no little packets of creamer. When we went down to breakfast there was plenty of coffee, and it was good. There were some breakfast items in a warmer - eggs, sausage and french toast - but they were all stone cold (really, really cold). We're not sure the warmer was even plugged in. The breakfast attendant came through at one point and got herself a cup of coffee, then disappeared. Amusingly, there was a little sign about creating your own oatmeal bowl, but no oatmeal, only cold cereal. We weren't expecting a gourmet breakfast buffet but this was very bad. I might stay there again just because it's a convenient stop on the road from MA to FL, and it's relatively inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area. I wouldn't count on the coffee before 6:30 AM. Lots of people might want to grab a cup for the road long before that. I wouldn't count getting a decent breakfast either.
worst hotel stay ever... everything was cheap quality (bedding) or broken ( elevator, heater, etc construction all around me...reservation was not respected...I couldn't wait to leave and get home...The staff only placated my requests and didn't solve anything
This is a nice pet friendly place with an extremely helpful staff and a great location. I was looking forward to seeing the renovated rooms, and they are nice but the renovation looks to have been purely cosmetic. We will stay again, the rates are generally good and it's one of the only places around to accept dogs.
This hotel is under renovation and it is not cited anywhere on website when booking. If you are in an even numbered room, you will have the highway noise interrupting your rest. We paid full price for a room just above renovations. We were sickened by the fresh paint smell, the shower had some sort of sand or other grit in the bottom, and the "towels" given were 2 towels, and 3 bath mats. The TV took time to load, and after 6 minutes it finally showed a picture. Most of the channels we tried jumped in and out due to satellite. We could not log onto the WiFi. We gave up! We asked for another room due to a safety concern I had, and were told we had to pay more for it. We booked this weekend trip 3 months in advance, and were very disappointed. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.
We stayed here or a friends 50th birthday getaway weekend in beautiful Kent Island, MD. While I understand doing renovations in the off-season, one would think that it would be done a floor at a time, and not the chaotic mess that it was scattered here, there and everywhere, but it was. A modest Best Western with a nice view of the bay, and if you are lucky, you can catch a gorgeous sunset from the balcony outside your room. (yes, do yourself a favor, stay in a bayside room, much quieter). We had a newly renovated bayside room, new carpet/bedding/furniture, which was a nice delight, also the room was very clean, but still heard noise from outside, and we had a room getting a redo next to us, so we heard hammering at odd hours during our weekend stay. Other things that were unacceptable were the kids that ran rampant the last night of our stay, running amuck down the hallways at all hours of the night and they managed to throw resin chairs from balcony rooms on the 4th floor to the parking lot, knocking out the Direct TV satellite feed for the whole hotel… on Sunday morning, on a big departure from the weekend travel day! NOT GOOD!! Also when I mentioned this upon check out I was told that there was nothing that they could do, since there was no manager on duty. UGH! Disappointing to say the least… now I have to drive all the way home on minimal sleep! Some weekend getaway. While I will be back to beautiful Kent Island, another stay at this place is questionable, especially when charging full off-season rates during a renovation and making guest breathe in paint fumes all weekend!
The rooms were freshly renovated. Amenities were nice and all were available, but pretty major work was under way at this location. The main lobby was completely closed and building materials were on the landing in front of several rooms that were currently being worked on. Guests were allowed to smoke on the walk ways in front of the rooms and their smoke came into our room if you entered on exited your room.
Best Western has a lot of nerve charging full off season rates for a stay crippled by a hotel in the midst of a major renovation. The lobby was partitioned off and ugly, the ice machine on our floor was broken, the TV and the phone didn't work. The electrical fixtures in the elevator were exposed and there were fingerprints and smudges all over the stainless panels. Obviously not cleaned in days. Our room had a view of a gigantic dumpster, and workmen in respiration masks were all over the place.
This Best Western is one of the nicest pet friendly Hotels we have encountered. The nigh staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was very clean and neat. The waterfront of Kent Narrows topped off our experience!
The Hotel was very clean and the Staff went out of their way to be helpful. I believe the bathroom must have just been remodeled - everything looked new. GREAT free breakfast! Very pleased with our overall experience for our first time at a Best Western Hotel.
We travel alot so have many different experiences in many different brand hotels. I usually don't like outside doors, but this is beautiful being at the Kent Narrows area with their fantastic restaurants and sunsets. Best part - they allow dogs!!!
Having lived on Kent Island I was familiar with the Best Western but had never stayed there before. Since we longer live on KI but needed a place to stay, I chose the BW for 2 reasons - pet-friendly and cost. Room was clean, front desk staff was great, and it was overall a great place to spend the night. Did not take advantage of the indoor pool, exercise equipment so I can't say about those, the breakfast room was nice with a fairly good assortment of foods - just right for a "free breakfast"
My husband and I are staying at the Best Western at Kent Narrows in while our home is having some renovations done. We have been here for a week and this is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I will say, to be fair, that the front desk service is very good. Everyone at the front desk has been friendly and helpful, however the management and housekeeping is absolutely awful. Our TV has not worked in 6 days despite at least a half dozen phone calls and messages for management. Additionally, housekeeping as only come in 2 or 3 times and on the designated day to thoroughly clean the room no one ever came at all(not even to change the towels and empty the trash). Additionally, the rooms are outdated and everything in them is old. Do not stay here.
This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in my 25 years of travel. The location was convenient so we decided to stay. I woke up many times throughout the night with itchy/watery eyes, sniffling, and itching. I couldn't sleep well and was absolutely miserable. The source could had been the air conditioning/fan unit circulating the dust, so we turned it off and had no circulating fan or air. The air then became damp and musky smelling. Also, NONE of the table lamps or floor lamp were working. It was an inconvenience to call the front desk for assistance or complain- especially in the middle of the night, so we kept the harsh bright main light. This was the worst experience and most uncomfortable stay ever.
This was a stopover on a trip south. Reservations were easy to make from the road and we feel that Best Western offers the convience, locations and services we want. No hassle check in with membership number again makes it easy to check in and out.
Very nice hotel and very well kept, had a jacuzzi in our room but, unfortunately should have been on the back side of the hotel to not hear the semi trucks all night long. We had a very load refrig as well as all the other loud noises all night long. The bed was very comfortable. If I ever stay there again I will bring along earplugs to drowned out all the noise
The hotel checked all the boxes except for an unusually loud heater/air conditioner unit. the unit cycled every 3 minutes and the fan noise was crazy loud. In spite of being beside a highway, there was no excessive noise from outside. The staff were welcoming and excellent. The dog run was a welcome bonus and very much appreciated in the morning.
Four of us stayed there on Dec 18, 2015. Everything was very good. Room was clean, appliances worked, beds comfortable and they even had hunters rates for us off-season visitors. They had a breakfast area where you could gentnearly everything you could want--and a lady that kept things stocked and clean. Views of the bay were great. A good number of bars and restaurants were very close--one offering an oyster buffet which was awesome. There was no nonsense about bring guns to the motel and much conversation there was around duck hunting and fishing. This is a very nice friendly place, good rates and we will return next year.
Needed a place to stay overnight due to a Memorial Service involving a family member. This location may not be the most modern were we have stayed, but it was one of the cleanest. Continental breakfast was plentiful and very satisfactory. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Diane. Location is easy to find, convenient to main highway and priced very well. I'd stay again.
Checked in to find my room is 50 yards or less from a major US highway!! I called the front desk to have my room moved to the other side of the building and the snippy front desk staff told me the "bay side" of the building is all booked. I indicated that I would then be leaving to find a different hotel and they refused to credit my credit card, and insisted on charging me for the night--even though we had not used the room! Best Western is NOT a decent hotel chain is they don't guarantee a good night's sleep or customer satisfaction. There are SO many hotels in this area why would anyone choose to stay in this rather dated, noisy place?
Hotel was great! Breakfast was good. Every one was pleased with this Hotel. Very friendly atmosphere. We stayed here while working in the area. I have no complaints. Nice scenery also! Next to the bay area.
Service and accommodations were very pleasant. Accommodates pets and their needs as well as large groups. Convenient to excellent restaurants, bay and freeway. My only complaint was the hot tub was not functioning. Otherwise the breakfast was very good, facilities were clean, and staff friendly. I would recommend this hotel if in the area.
We were very happy with Kent Narrows Inn. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable. They accommodated our request for a late checkout. We travel with our dog. This hotel accepts pets for a minimal fee. The room was spacious enough to accommodate our dog crate comfortably. The in-room internet was easy to connect and fast.
Centrally located among several restaurants and bars. Great views from top floors. My father slept on the sofa bed and he said it was the most comfortable sofa bed he has ever slept on. The front desk staff were amazing and very friendly and courteous.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, although our earlier visit was in the winter. We asked for and received a first floor room, convenient to parking, the breakfast room, the pool and the lobby. The beds in the "typical hotel room" were comfortable. The bathroom was a little on the small size, especially considering that the sink was outside the bathroom. Bathtub/shower was tight, but adequate. The "heated pool" could have been a tad warmer! Nice hot tub attached. Didn't eat breakfast there but did go in to get coffee to take back to the room. Hotel personnel were pleasant and helpful.
Compared to other hotels in the area, the pricing for the Best Western was the most affordable. The room was very large and spacious! We were on the highway side and didn't hear any noise from route 50. We stayed for a wedding and there were lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance to the hotel. The area in general seems to be more expensive than it should be, but the best western was the most affordable option on kent island and there were a lot of amenities, including breakfast, a pool, a fitness center and laundry.
I stayed at this particular location in the past month and I must say that pretty much the whole staff is very very nice and helpful. Mary is very friendly and excellent when you are checking in and shes always very happy. The "Host" is very rude and not friendly at all and I really did not care for his attitude towards me or my husband and he was not at all hospitable. . The rooms are clean and I enjoyed my stay, the breakfast was good and we had a nice time besides the one problem.
The room was clean, but the connecting room was not non-smoking. The guests in that room seemed to smoke non-stop. The smoke smell invaded our room. Also, there was a large truck idling in the parking lot outside of our room all evening! If you are sensitive to smoke smell this may not be the hotel for you! Also, try to get a room on the side of the hotel away fro teh highway.
We were pleased with this hotel and the fact that we were able to keep our dog with us. Everyone was very pleasant. We found the location to be very good for finding places to eat, walk and bike. We especially liked the Bay view.
Was overpriced for what we received. But all motels in the area were overpriced due to being on the water on the bay. Had a nice view of the bay (if you paid extra to have the view). Overall; was an average place for an above average price.
I will return to this hotel for it is quite and relaxing. Not far from the water. It is clean, and reasonable. The rooms are comfortable and modern. You get your money worth to include breakfast which is very healthy. You will experience great customer service.
Very good experience, Desk Clerks were very accommodating and the breakfast was superb. Nice pool, love the fact they have adjoining rooms and a walk up sunken tub in some of them. Would definitely stay there again.
$205 a night in September for what a motel like old place is a total rip off this is at best a $90 a night weekend rate and far less during week it is not a resort town and September is not high season never again
Golf trip Located just East of the Bay Bridge on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The rooms are w/ refrig & micro. Good internet. Chairs outside the rooms to sit and watch the water. Seafood restaurants across the street (walk-able), but watch out for traffic. The breakfast has improved greatly since our stay here last year. The coffee was really good and there is nice attentive staff. The room chairs could have been a little more comfortable and it would be good if electrical outlets were more accessible.
