Room was spotlessly clean , good size TV with lots of choices.Right next door to a good resturaunt. Breakfast was amazing , great coffee and lots of good things to choose from . The Automatic pancake machine was a big hit !!! I really enjoyed the outside free form hot tub with Tropical music in the background.

I was very impressed by this hotel for the value. Amazing pool/spa area, great amenities, good breakfast selection, extremely friendly and helpful staff, and a complimentary limo ride to dinner anywhere in town! Thanks for making our stay comfortable and memorable for my kids!

Great stay in every way! We were even offered a limo ride to take us to a restaurant in town but decided to go to the diner around the corner. Our room was so clean and everything felt really new and upgraded! The pool/hot tub area was beautiful and it felt like we were on a tropical vacation. Very relaxing! The staff were very nice and professional and the breakfast in the morning was perfect as we headed off to visit Cal Poly Humboldt! Thank you! Definitely will stay here again when headed north!

Inn sits in between the busy Hwy 101. Our room was relatively quiet during our stay. Even though we had requested a quiet room. Inn was nice and the pool area, The Oasis was themed very well and was the gem of the hotel. They offer a free limo ride to nearby restaurants, which we never used. Breakfast Room was well stocked and had a good amount of choices to choose from. We would second guess about staying here again for the cost per night and the traffic noise.

I travel through out Northern California on Business. By far the Best Western Humboldt Bay Inn, is the best Hotel. Where else can you get a tour around town in a Strech Limousine. Play out door billards, Soar in a huge Hot tub/Grotto, Beautiful lap/Family Pool...??? The grounds are well maintained and easy access around town or the Ocean. The front desk staff will direct you to historic areas and great family Dining. I've Taken my Family here when visiting the Redwoods or on my way to Oregon.

Check in was easy and plenty of parking. Room was nice and quiet. Beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows. Breakfast had a variety of items to chose from. Wi-Fi was great and front desk was very helpful in places to eat. Would recommend this hotel.

We stayed for two nights in October 2022. The room was clean, and the bed was comfy. My husband was happy we had a recliner in our room. Great touch with having a driver take us and pick us up from dinner at night. We traveled to the Avenue of Giants, which everyone one should see once in their life, and this was a close driving distance. It Is in good proximity to downtown, grocery store and places to eat. There was a hot tub, but we did not have time to use it. Front Desk was really nice and helpful when I checked in. Cleaning staff said friendly when we walked past them, which I always appreciate.

The room appeared clean but had a Gould odor of dirty laundry and smoke. (Nonsmoking room). The front desk overcharged me $323 and couldn't correct the issue making those funds unavailable for me for the entire trip. (Not happy about that) The Jacuzzi was huge and beautiful and it was a great experience. The kids loved the pool and the staff was very on top of keeping peoples behavior appropriate. The breakfast was ok just wish they had a grab and go option for those who have to leave early.

Front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. On-site restaurant that has very good food and friendly service. Nice clean room in the Pacific Wing area that was quiet with no outside traffic noises. Easy access to shops and restaurants.

This Hotel has a very safe & secure protocol. The Tropical theme of the hot tub and pool area was very relaxing and fun. The breakfast was good and the complimentary Limo service was a fun bonus. Location is on a very busy road so there is a bit of a noise factor.

Decent property, good service, good location right on 101 but our room was not noisy. Would be incredible for young couples and families, as the entertainment courtyard is a hopping place with a pool/spa, pool table, etc. Good breakfast!

We booked our two-day stay the night before, not realizing there was a large jazz festival at the same time. Our room was comfortable and quiet, even though it bordered a busy street. The staff was very helpful and the limo available for guests was terrific bonus. The tropical themed pool & spa area made our quick trip seem like a full-fledged vacation. This motel is a five-block walk to downtown with great shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again.

After a recent visit to the Redwood National Forest driving down from Oregon we stopped in Eureka which is a down on your luck kind of town. The BW is by far the best choice with a safe option provided ( car/ driver) for getting to/ from downtown restaurants. It also has lovely amenities for it's guests with an outdoor fireplace and firepit, a hot tub and pool.

I travel often and this Best Western had the most comfortable mattress I have found in a hotel recently. It was not too soft and not too hard. Typically, hotel mattresses are too soft. Additionally this hotel, despite being on the highway, is very quiet.

A wonderful hotel stay with the best oasis (pool) area I've ever seen. The service and amenities were better than the few 5 star hotels I've stayed at in the past. Free breakfast that did not feel as much like a cliche hotel breakfast that other hotels have. The pool area is relaxing and inviting which fits the term ‘oasis.' The room was very clean and despite being near a busy road, extremely quiet.

Hotel was ok but not special. The room and bathroom were very small. There was no view of anything but building or parking lot even though it is at Humboldt Bay. Visitors should be aware that there seemed to be a lot of homeless people in the area. Oasis area was nice.

We accidentally booked with a third party called Hotel Planner. They booked our family of six in one room and took our money. We arrived to find that is against fire laws. They had lied to us and wouldn't refund until the Hampton Inn helped me talk to them. The Hampton Inn also gave us special pricing on a suite so we could be together. They went above and beyond to help us! Their staff was amazing, the breakfast, spa and pool were fantastic and the Grand suite is pure luxury ! I can't wait to go back!! Warning! Don't book anything using Hotel planner! Book directly with hotels!

Staff was professional, pleasant, and caring throughout our stay. Breakfast is basic and only the self made pancakes and waffles are fresh. Rest are the frozen, packaged stuff you can buy at the store. Restaurant next door is excellent however - so walk through the parking lot to Katrinas for breakfast makes this an excellent stay

Ended a long days drive through Avenue of the Giants in Eureka. So lucky to choose this Best Western. Room was big, clean, quiet, comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was really good. Waffles, pancakes, sandwiches, cereal... The Oasis was such a surprise. Wonderful hot tub, pool, pool table, lots of chairs. Just a neat area to relax in. Then the bonus is the hotel limo that took us to dinner. This hotel is close enough to walk to historic downtown and the waterfront. Kristine's restaurant on site has huge portions and was really good. Be a rewards member and save $$ too.

When we travel north we always stay here. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. They serve a nice variety of breakfast items, hot and cold. There is a very nice tropical themed spa area that is a great place to enjoy your breakfast. Check out is noon so there is no rush. They also offer a limo service to take you to dinner. We always enjoy our stay.

Even though the hotel is on highway 101, it was very quiet in the room. The breakfast selection was the best I have had in a long time. Facility was extremely clean. The opportunity to use the limousine to get to and from dinner was a nice perk. Able to have a couple of cocktails and not worry about driving. And the driver was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

A realy kindfull lady helped us with her good service. She did everything to feel you comfortabele. A beautiful swimmingpool garden, hottub,an lounge sets with fireplace. A so lovely place ,so unexpected.. it was the best hotel we've had on our trip ! Everything was clean, and brite. A big 10 for this great hotel.

The property is beautiful. The free limo service is a fantastic add on. The hot tub, deck seating and pool area are comfortable beautiful and inviting. The front desk staff go above and beyond, they are professional and caring. We will definitely be going back just to see the city and stay at this property.

Front desk turned my family away with no place to stay for the night because I had reserved a room with a king bed and I was traveling with wife and daughter. They had no other rooms but still turned me away on a pre-paid, non-refundable reservation. Told me to call my booking company to figure it out and apologized, even though I had no place to stay for the night. I am absolutely appalled at the treatment. I will never stay at a Best Western again.

We do apologize with your reservation and check in experience. Unfortunately, as you noted, you reserved a room with one bed that only allows 2 people maximum. When you arrived with 3 adults, we definitely wanted to accommodate you to a room with 2 beds, but we were unable to as we were completely sold out. We did indeed cancel your reservation and issued a refund. If there is an issue with the 3rd party website, please call us and we will help you in getting your full refund. We do hope that you will give us another opportunity on your next visit to our area.

I stayed for a four night visit and really enjoyed the property. The Oasis with the beautiful pool, spa and fire pit was great. The Fitness Center was so clean with modern exercise equipment. The staff members were so friendly and the breakfast area was kept well stocked at all times. Great coffee too! They even have a real limousine that can take you to and from local restaurants!! I'm glad I stayed here.

Was very pleasantly surprised by the well kept landscaping; the parking lot was kept clean of debris and trash; and the pool / jacuzzi area was beautiful with the islands theme, fire pit and music playing in the background

Conveniently located near downtown, the off street parking is safe within the courtyard. The room was clean and comfy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast area is cozy within their “oasis”, the enclosed pool and spa with fire pit seating.

We overnighted here during a road trip and found the accommodations great--a bit of an oasis in the hectic and rather run down town of Eureka. The room was not particularly large but was well laid out and fully equipped. Good bathroom lighting, lots of counter space. Very clean and, while not particularly new, well-maintained. The desk staff was very pleasant and helpful with local suggestions. We didn't use the pool, but the indoor/outdoor setup was well done and great for kids. The breakfast was better than most and there were lots of places to sit. The bar was closed while we were there, but it looked welcoming. A good choice.

This property is very well maintained and very clean. The staff was constantly attending to all of the facilities. The staff was very pleasant and eager to help. We particularly enjoyed the spa and pool area. With several seating areas, including gas fireplaces, it felt like being at a resort.

This place is a nice place to stop for an overnight. I really wanted to love it more, but the smell inside the room of old carpets was hard to get past. If you don't mind the smell the old smell than it is awesome! I think they just need some updating to the carpets and the wallpaper in the bathroom was falling off. The staff are super nice!!

The pool area- called the oasis- is a great area for kids and adults. It is partially open and partially covered with a pool, a separate hot tub and miniature waterfall with plenty of adult seating for conversations and kid-watching. The complimentary limo that you can take to your dining destination is also a big plus.

Gave it four stars based on location -- no view. Rather more expensive than the other motels I've stayed at on my trip through California and Oregon. The room was very nice though. I really liked that they had real glasses for water (not plastic). Quiet.

My wife and I stayed three nights in a King Deluxe room while hiking the area trails and viewing the incredible red woods. We had a very positive stay, even though we don't typically stay at motels. The room was clean and quiet, and the "Oasis" area was great (pool, hot tub, billiards, places to sit near circular gas-operated fire pits, and also included the morning breakfast area, which was simple, neat and sufficient). A great place to hang after a long day in the woods. The staff here are terrific. Friendly and helpful. Need a corkscrew for that Humboldt County red? There's one at the front desk. Want to chat about great area hikes? We had a staff member share several personal recommendations (and we tried one, and it was excellent). Also, the Eureka Old Town is a short drive down the street; a very quaint section of town with a slew of great food and drink options (wine bar, seafood, shopping, etc). Is it the Ritz? No, of course not. If you want that kind of experience in far Northern California, I would try and seek out some kind of resort. But if you want a good local place as your jumping off point to explore this truly amazing area, I think it's a terrific option.

Pros: Close to old town though in an industrial area. The hotel does a good job of insulating rooms (no noise) and the 'oasis area' (pools, etc) from this. The stretch limo transport is a clever way to mitigate the fact that the neighborhood doesn't feel particularly safe - not in old town nor where the hotel is. The swimming pool is heated to offset the cool climate and the kids loved it. The oasis was a pleasant space to spend time. The room was quiet and well appointed. We liked the big space close to the sink - useful for toiletries for 4 people. Cons: Overall the staff were great though I had a not so great experience when asking about housekeeping. I hate it when someone says, "As you were told .." especially when that person is someone paid to assist me. Frankly, I wasn't told about not having housekeeping and I had 3 witnesses.. but even if I had been, so what? I was being pleasant .. Advice to the hotel: put a note on the hotel room doors. I've travel a bit for work and needing to request housekeeping often causes confusion.

The hotel and staff are very friendly. They offer a limousine rides to local restaurants, the swimming pool area is an Oasis. I have to say it is probably one of the cooler Best Western hotels in overall appearance and features.

This place was amazing! My family and I stayed for two nights just recently as part of our family vacation to the Redwood National Forest. Prices were reasonable, staff was excellent and very accommodating, rooms were spacious and clean! But the highlights are the Oasis and the complimentary limo!!! I could have just vacationed right there in that awesome hot tub!! My whole family really enjoyed being able to come back and relax after a day of hiking and exploring in this beautiful oasis! Selena, our chauffeur in the limo was great too! Hope we get back out that way so we can visit again!

Took my daughters on a last minute road trip to the Redwoods and picked this hotel based on the reviews and photos. We wanted to get a vacation feel while all their friends were on summer vacations around the world. I was a little worried driving up to the hotel as the area is seedy. But the hotel lived up to the photos! It has a very nice, tropical vibe. It is CLEAN, well maintained, everything worked. We spent several hours in one of the lounge nooks with the fireplace in front of the huge spa and played a few rounds of pool. The staff are on it when people break rules and someone who brought a beer bottle into the pool area only lasted a few minutes before they were approached. Only drawback was they didn't have scrambled eggs and sausage at breakfast as advertised. I happen to lovel hotel eggs and sausage, so we were all bummed when we went to breakfast. But otherwise, this is a great hotel, and really allowed us to feel like we went somewhere else than Eureka, LOL!

This hotel had a little oasis area for the pool and spa. It was charming and large with beautiful sitting areas with fire pits. There was also a pool table. Nice music played around pool area. They also have free limo service to downtown restaurants. The staff was super friendly. I believe it is a family owned hotel. The breakfast was included and had great waffles. The breakfast area was a little crowded as everyone came in at the same time for breakfast.

This BW property is a bit tricky to access so pay attention to entrances. The room was fine but the breakfast was very disappointing. The pool area was very inviting but did not use as weather too windy.

This place had so-so desk clerks...kind of a ying and yang pair. The room was large and clean but dark. Comp breakfast was pretty nice - especially the pancake maker. The selections were always fresh and plentiful right up to 10AM. Tables were kept clean as folk moved on. The pool area - actually the hot tub area was huge and roomy and very enjoyable - no kids, yet. The pool area was large and would be a good place for families. We juust felt so relaxed with the South Pacific style music piped in just loud enough to hear above the water falls.

My 4 year old daughter and I loved the pool and hot tub. The room was very clean and bed was comfy. We had the continental breakfast in the morning which had a nice variety. We will never stay anywhere else when visiting Humboldt.

I was unsure about the price, but the hotel stay was completely worth it. Nice room, wonderful pool and hot tub, great breakfast with a wide array of choices. Staff was friendly and would recommend to everyone.

The amenities were all great except the breakfast, the only hot food there is, is make yourself pancakes or waffles. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi area is amazing, such a fun are with many areas to sit including a fire pit area.

We chose this city and hotel as it was close to the Redwood National forest area. Hotel is situated on the outskirts just off the highway. I was worried it would be noisy due to its location but it was very quiet. Check-in was fast and friendly. Our room faced the back towards the water with a lovely little balcony. We had a king jacuzzi room with a fireplace and it was massive ! Both the room and the bathroom. Our bed was super comfy…quite possibly the best one of the trip. Great large shower. All amenities needed. Walking distance to a couple of eating establishments and a mall right next door. (kind of a sad looking mall but still had options if you needed something) Lovely little garden oasis at the centre of the complex with a koi pond, which I thought was a great touch and didn't make you feel as though you were in a busy commercial area. Breakfast was a simple buffet offering, nothing special. But clean and well stocked and allowed us to get a decent meal before we continued on our journey. We used points for this stay so I cannot actually comment on value for money at this hotel. Plentiful parking on site. Overall, a decent stay.

This hotel has immaculate grounds. So clean and well maintained. The pool and spa area is amazing. Our room was also clean and all staff was very helpful and polite. They will even take you or pick you up from dinner in their limo. I do wish food was allowed at the pool, but overall it was a very enjoyable visit and I would not only recommend staying here but hope to stay here on my next visit to the area!

My stepdaughter was dropped off on Father's Day and I was very disrespectfully approached in front of the entire pool area guests and was scolded that she has to go. Made her feel like a burden and the manager refused to accommodate my situation although I offered to pay whatever extra fee necessary. We were forced to leave on Father's Day because of a surprise visit by my stepdaughter. Also embarrassed being confronted by the pool guy who made my step daughter feel like a burden. I am a frequent and steady guest as a football and wrestling coach. Very disappointed and disrespected. Shocked at their inability to accommodate to my situation on Father's Day. Will never return. If morals mean anything. Do not give them your business.

I choose to stay at the BW Humboldt Bay Inn because I needed a safe place to park my vehicle overnight. I had just received heirlooms from my Moms estate and needed to stay somewhere for two nights. I had heard of break ins of vehicles in Eureka. After driving around and checking out hotel parking, the Humboldt Bay Inn had the best. My vehicle could park in front of my room and the lot had a high fence around it. I slept well knowing my vehicle was safe!

Rooms really really need a good cleaning bugs on window sill in bathroom also walls dirty and staining areas! Outside of this hotel we did not feel safe lots of drug addicts and homeless as well as the town is filthy! Good luck trying to find a clean comfortable restaurant to eat in! But believe it or not this is the best hotel in the area! Get an Airbnb

Room and beds were comfortable, a tad tight on space for 3. Clean, adequate bathroom and amenities. Was conveniently close to car since we got the first floor. Free breakfast was amply supplied. A 2 minute drive to to the Old town by car.

In Eureka for one night, I booked this hotel for its location close to the Victorian downtown and a couple of restaurants I had read about. Too tired to head out after a long day on the road, we settled for the simple diner adjacent to the hotel. Other than some traffic, the night was peaceful, the bedding fine, the HVAC was not terribly annoying, and the building quality was good. There was no room to room noise. The pool area is very pleasant and we were able to enjoy breakfast outside in April. The room was a little cramped with a table that didn't really fit. Eureka, like so many places today, has visible homeless people, but we explored the downtown in the morning and had no issues with anyone. The historical museum is worth a stop, as is a gear store called Picky Picky Picky.

Room was fine. Bed was fine. TV worked. Shower had good water pressure. Heater kept the room very comfortable, was easy to set the temperature I wanted. Really like the pool/spa area; nice place to hang out and relax, whether you want to get into the water or not.

We enjoyed the limo ride to/from dinner, the pool area is beautiful, breakfast was delicious, the team was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Every time that I stay at the Hotel, The rooms are very clean, The Staff is very helpful and the grounds are beautiful. In the eight plus years that I have visited, I've never had a problem....Well once, the massage chair in the exercise room didn't work...lol.

Do not rent a room here if you expect to relax by the pool and spa with a cocktail. No alcohol allowed, no food allowed, no "visitors" allowed. We couldn't let a local family member come join us by the pool for an hour, and staff were unbelievably rude about it! They closely and constantly monitor you, it felt like I was in a correctional facility or something. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience.

We do apologize that you felt this way. Because of the overwhelming popularity of our Oasis spa and pool area, only registered guests are now allowed in the area. This is discussed at check-in and we have signs posted. This way, all registered guests can enjoy the Oasis area without the worry of having non guests in the area as it becomes too crowded for guests to enjoy the area. We hope that you understand this policy as because of its popularity, we have had problems with guests inviting others or wanting to have parties, which creates a negative experience for everyone involved. Our property has 110 guest rooms and many guests stay here because of the Oasis spa area, so you can imagine how crowded it becomes if non registered guests are in the area also. Again, we hope you understand and we hope to see you again in the future.

My wife and I recently visited the North coast. We decided to stay at this hotel based on reviews from trip advisor. Upon seeing the town of Eureka and the busy hwy 101 right outside of the hotel we were hesitant. I am happy to say that we were quite wrong about the location. From the friendly staff to the very clean room everything met and exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was good but no fancy. Your choice of eating included indoors, outdoors, or by a very nice fire pit. When we go back I know know a nice place to stay.

Everything in the hotel is perfect. I am giving 4 because the pillows were not very good and gave me a neck pain a couple of times. But other than that, its perfection. Really nice hot tub, and 8ft pool. Breakfast is amazing (much better quality than other hotels in the same price range). Staff are extremely nice.

Lets be honest, I come to this property about once a month for the oasis area. That its very relaxing . The breakfast on the other hand is the worst that I have seen in all of my Best Western stays. Frozen breakfast and waffles or pancakes? I can get those anywhere . I like the property, don't bother with the breakfast.

Caution this hotel actual rate will be higher than your quoted booked rate. They don't keep their local tax info current which creates lower quoted vs actual rate. You won't find this out until after your stay and you inspect your credit card. Misleading and effectively dishonest in today's automated world. They also do nothing even when advised about small children (under 5) in the hot tub. Their sign states no one under 6 allowed in hot tub. So, with that it isn't sanitary and likely violates local health codes. Road noise in all rooms and spa area. Hot breakfast is prepackaged egg & sausage sandwiches and no fresh eggs or sausage. All other breakfast items are bread based (instant oatmeal, waffles, bagels, toast). I would not consider this a resort. Rather a motel given the hotel doors open to the parking lot and second floor access is stairs only. The available limousine is of good quality and the driver excellent and very professional. The one person that mans the breakfast area is outstanding. She kept everything well stocked and very clean even when it was very busy. The hotel rooms show their old age with silver worn off on mirrors and years of grime around door handles and mirror frames. Limited basic amenities of a hotel/motel and not of a resort. Thin towels, no robes, etc. Small rooms with little natural light even if open shutters which given it is motel style removes all sense of privacy as folks walk right past your window whether on 1st or second floor. While it is walking distance to historic downtown it is not a safe walk as immediately abuts the busy highway so drive or take the limousine.

Overall this place was… ok. Stayed here in a trip to the Redwoods and the room had much to be desired. Musty smell, bathroom door was all chipped up, the tile floors looked all dingy, the wall by the bathroom was sort of caved in. Beds weren't comfortable and the room was crowded with way too much furniture. The pool area was nice, though, the limo to and from dinner was fun four our kiddo, and the breakfast was partially redeeming. I'm not sure if unwound ever stay again, to be honest…

Good: Beautifully remodeled motel, has a lovely pool, and limo service to dinner at restaurants around the town. Bad: It's still an old motel with paper thin walls sandwiched between two busy streets. Exterior doors and no secure parking. I could not rest because of noise and wanted to leave asap.

Top notch staff and service. Very clean rooms. Quality atmosphere. Clean and cost efficient. Great for family stay and or a honeymoon. Had a free Limo service to restaurants and bar. Everything in working order. Amazing hot tub and pool area.

Great property overall! Staff was all nice. Pool and spa area definitely a big plus as was the complementary limo for dinner!! Kid friendly and breakfast was a large variety the suited is all well. Great value!

Great location. Nice staff and clean comfy rooms. The limo to the restaurants nearby was an added bonus and such a fun experience. I wish the bed pillows were bigger on the bed, and there were more. The square shape is too small.

First impressions: When I walked into the room, it smelled heavily of cleaning products and the bed didn't look great. I was a bit disappointed. However, the staff was super friendly, internet worked well, and the room itself was clean. I was pleasantly surprised by the bed being as comfortable as it was. I slept very well, and it was super quiet - I'm a light sleeper and the only thing that woke me up was my alarm in the morning. That so rarely happens. The mini-fridge froze my food, so beware of the settings.

This was the last night of a four night road trip through southern Oregon and Northern California. I was a little bummed out when we drove into Eureka and it was kind of...gritty. However, the hotel, with standard rooms- very clean, everything you expect- blows you away when you enter the Oasis. The hot tub and pool are worth every penny of your stay. I could have happily stayed in that hot tub for two days straight. Truly the best of any of the hotels I booked, and all of them had hot tubs. Great for kids and adults alike. Just wonderful.

Had a great check in was recommended several spots for dinner, my wife and kids had fun even just in the room but our dinner was eventful for just us 4 would go again soon just to see the kids have fun

We stayed here for three nights while exploring the redwoods. It was very convenient for both the northern and southern parks. The staff was genuinely friendly, both at the front desk and in the breakfast area. Everything was super clean, and staff were continually cleaning the common areas. We chose a basic room on the ground floor across from the office. We are on a long trip and have lots of luggage, so this was great for our senior citizen knees. Very convenient to ice machine, lobby, and breakfast room. The pool/hot tub area is lovely, though we didn't have time to use either. It's beautifully landscaped. Our room was very clean, and had everything we needed. It wasn't huge, but we only needed a place to regroup and sleep each night after our hikes. The hotel takes up an entire block between the northbound and southbound lanes of Rt. 101. We could hear traffic noise at night in our room, and the footsteps from the people above us. There are rooms that are more insulated inside the complex, so if you are a light sleeper, you might want one of those. It's very good value for the money, and I would stay there again.

Can't say a enough good about this overnight stay, I feel like moving into the place. Kind of a like a resort rather than a motel. Beautiful place, very well kept, clean modern rooms and super friendly staff

Exceptionally clean facility with a very friendly and helpful staff. The complimentary limo in the evening made it easy for us to get out and have a great time without worrying about driving. Then there's the beautiful grotto area! There are several reasons this is a Best Western PLUS! We've stayed here before and will do so again!

The check in process was a breeze, the staff was friendly, Efficient and professional. The best part was the room! Quiet, Great window coverings, cozy temperature, very clean, well decorated. I was pleasantly surprised by the fluffy towels and the wonderful smelling shampoo and conditioner. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, spectacular hot tub, spectacular team, transportation to restaurants, walking distance to co-op natural foods store, historic downtown, murals galore, waterfront, lots of parking, great breakfast room/spread, pool table! Just an overall gem with clean and nice feeling rooms. I was super pleased and booked at the desk on a Tuesday night. I would always stay here with my family.

I'm blown away by the quality of this hotel and it's staff. They have gone above and beyond to help make our stay the relaxing time it was meant to be. The universe knew I needed a break and brought me to this hotel to restore my faith in humanity. Seriously. And it's absolutely beautiful here. They did not skimp on anything. The rooms are gorgeous, clean and quiet. The layout is excellent- both of the rooms and the hotel itself and the pool area makes you legit feel like you're at an oasis in the middle of nowhere. When you're at the pool, you would have no idea you're in the middle of Eureka. There's an incredible breakfast selection, FREE limo rides in a beautiful Limo, and you're in walking distance to anything you could ever need. It's unbelievable. I'm a local and will be coming back on the regular to stay here. I'm blown away. I've never had this good of an experience at a hotel. Ever. Thank you. Y'all filled my cup this weekend and I am eternally grateful.

Discriminated because I had my three year old daughter with me who is well mannered and mellow. Was placed in an unsafe area of hotel that made me uncomfortable on a week night with low compasity of hotel booked at the time. I expressed my concern for wanting a room near the front due to transient activity and the dark isolated and open area of my room which was an area open for foot traffic to wander in and out. Humboldt county's has a high violent crime rate. The desk agent asked me if I had made any messes because I had a kid with me. I told him I only had just began carrying my belongings into the room. I was then placed on opposite side of property in the back area that was enclosed by a fence bordering the same busy downtown street. Upon entering the new room I was taken back by the most foul smell of cheap air freshener covering a dirty wet dog with pet hair all over the room. When I called again he informed me pets and smoking are not allowed on the premises. Clearly he put me in the pet room because I had a child with me even though I expressed my concern for being a woman alone with my toddler and wanted to be in the main part of hotel for safety reasons. He issued me another room 3 doors down which thankfully didn't make me feel sick from the smells. The beds were very old and I felt springs in my back all night. And upon checking my card statement I see I was charged $30 over the reservation price at time of booking. This is my first bad experience with any best western hotel and sadly I am very disappointed and feel personally discriminated because of having my child with me.

We booked this Best Western on a recent road trip and happily discovered this diamond in the rough. The grounds are well maintained and we were especially happy to find the outdoor pool, hot tub & lounge area. Like an oasis getaway! We were lucky to have it all to ourselves the first stay. The breakfast was clean and also offered a DIY To-Go bag with lots of options. We liked it so much we booked again on the way back home. We stay at a lot of Best Westerns and this is by far at the top of the list! Highly recommend.

Rooms were nice and clean. The grounds are nice with nice hot tub and fire pit area. The best thing was the limo service!!! There is a restaurant next door that you can walk to as well. It is centrally located. It was a good spot to rest and wished we would have been able to stay another night.

Beautiful rooms, quiet for the most part. but were provided ear plugs. Kids 15, 8 loved the swimming pool and spa. It has a beautiful game room area. Lots of lounging area's. Makes you feel like your at a resort. Only down was the website said pool open until 11, but they ran everyone out at 10 pm. They provided towels. There are heaters and fire pits and fire places. Pool was heated too. We didn't get up early enough for the breakfast. Maybe next time. I look forward to visiting again.

Great location, clean rooms and the staff goes out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. Take a short ride in your 4wd to Samoa beach and drive ON the beach. Checkout the Eureka zoo it's a fine small zoo the redwood skywalk is awesome. I'll be back for sure

You can't tell from the outside that this hotel has so much to offer! I've stayed at massive expensive resorts and yet the time my family and I had at this wonderful small hotel was as good or better! They have left no stone unturned to make the pool and hot tub area fancy. They have a big hot tub with an actual hot water waterfall even. The pool even has a basketball hoop. The suite and the steam + rainshower was probably the most advanced shower that I've ever seen. Finally, the limo service into town is brilliant! Can't ask for anything more. Hoping that they make their breakfast service better. The COVID grab-n-go breakfast is a bit skippable because of the limited choices.

Our check in was quick and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was filling and had a wide variety of choices. Although we didn't have time to use the pool and spa area, we peeked at them before getting our breakfast and it was very nice with several seating areas and fire pit area. We stay here again when we come to visit family.

The employees were all really friendly and helpful when we had questions about the hotel and surrounding areas. Short distance from old Town Eureka for shopping and dining. The hot tub and heated pool are great for relaxation. Overall clean and comfortable.

Tropical resort on the California coast - great pool and spa with tropical decor . Rooms always clean and spacious. Staff beyond accommodating. Hotel feels cozy but is large enough to provide all services. Next door is great old fashioned restaurant with good food, good prices and ample portions.

Only a shower in normal rooms. Heat took 3 hours to warm my room. Front desk staff was rude…starting from my call to see if rooms were available. This is possibly the nicest hotel in town , but that's no excuse for being uppity and borderline belligerent. I work with the public myself , and I know how a client (or potential client) deserves to be treated.

My two-night stay at the Best Western Humboldt Bay Inn was surprisingly so much more than I expected! My room was comfortable: King bed, nice linens, huge TV, closet space with hangers, microwave, good-size refrigerator, strong wifi. Safety concerns also were attended to: 4 lamps in room , table lamps turned on easily with a switch on the base, also electrical outlets available throughout the room on lamb bases and desktop area, door locks worked well, grab bar in shower. Co=vid protocols in place and followed in all areas. Great seasonal decorations decorations inside and out. Nice sized pool and hot tub areas. What I most appreciated, however, was the wonderful staff at the front desk, on the grounds, and in the common areas. Any request or question was welcomed and answered cheerfully. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly.

This resort offers everything you need in terms of amenities and great service. It is also located within walking distance to the Eureka old town, the jetty, and the boardwalk, with lots of restaurants and shops around - perfect for any visitor. One can prance around for hours in that area and not get bored.

The room was a little cramped and small, but the bed was comfortable and service was attentive. It did seem a little overpriced for our stay, but everything in Eureka was expensive when we visited. I was also concerned at some reviews from other hotels that mentioned safety concerns, but we felt perfectly safe and had no issues.

The outsides were as nice and well appointed as the insides at this hotel. The suite we stayed in was equipped with 2 fireplaces, double vanity, and a steam shower. Comfortable bed. The outside pool area has several lounge areas and a fire pit (that is actually working). Beautiful place, highly recommend!

The hotel is nice for this area. But the room had only one USB port and it was not working. Could not charge phones in room. Clean room. Decor is meh. Nothing special. The facilities looked nice but we didn't get to use any amenities. That was our fault as we didn't have time and it was raining the whole time we were there.

Whenever we travel we look for BW Plus hotels as they are usually very well priced and the facilities are nicely maintained and decorated. This hotel was no exception. The only quirky thing was it is situated in a V between two major streets. This did not impede our sleep. While handsomely landscaped, the neighborhood is definitely not walker-friendly as it is in a warehouse type of district.

This hotel is amazing from booking to check out. The ease of booking on their website is very helpful. Check in is a very welcoming and efficient process in their cozy lobby. The grounds are well maintained by a group of friendly employees that always have smiles and are eager to help out. Being a repeat guest, they remember who I am. The pool area is well maintained and they have heaters so you don't catch cold. They also have a fire place and a pool table in the pool area as well!! The rooms are very clean, and smell very fresh. The linens smell clean and beds are comfortable. They put out a spread of food for breakfast in the morning fruit, yogurts, cereal, danishes, breakfast sandwiches, juice and milk, coffee and tea.. There's also a diner style restaurant next door that is established, friendly welcoming employees, and tasty eats. I highly recommend this hotel, it's a gem!

This was a great hotel to stay at in Eureka! The recreation area is really fun. They have a big pool for a hotel. It's partially outside but there were big heaters and the water was warm. Really great for kids because they had three sections. Also a very large hot tub that is beautiful with water falls etc. There were lots of nook kind of seating areas with fireplaces to just sit and relax. Game area and tables for games etc. Great breakfast choices with their grab and go breakfast considering COVID restrictions. Almost anyone could find something they liked. The rooms were nice, comfortable beds and quiet even though it was the busy weekend after Thanksgiving. The people at the front lobby were very helpful about fun things to see. I definitely will stay here again next time I get to Eureka.

great place to stay while visiting the Redwoods or traveling the coast. The staff is friendly, clean rooms and spotless bathroom. Good location, added benefit of a car and driver to drive you to dinner.

I lived in Eureka for a year, was relocating and stayed at this BW while I was packing etc. being familiar with the area, I wanted a comfortable, clean setting and this BW provided that. The room was very clean, double Queen, the staff were all very attentive and polite, the grounds are a great little oasis in a town that could get a bit sketchy with the unpredictable nature of houseless people in the area. I enjoyed seeing other travelers stay here and enjoy the hot tub and happy hour and breakfast etc. when I travel back through 101 to Humboldt I will stay again.

We've stayed other places in Eureka and end up returning to this Best Western largely because of the pleasant hot tub/pool area and courteous service. Our rooms have always been nicely furnished and very clean. We also appreciate the free limo service to a variety of downtown restaurants, as parking can be a hassle. The property is not far from Old Town but it's not a pleasant walk through a commercial, high traffic corridor. What used to be a fairly decent standard breakfast has turned into a minimalist "grab and go" bag that does not live up to the BW Plus level. Fortunately, our favorite local breakfast place, Gil's on the Dock, is just a few miles south of town at the west end of King Salmon Blvd.

I assume this hotel is a California Project Homekey location. Completely crazy cussing yelling next to us for hours. Called front desk and they called room which made them quiet for a short time. There were sickness inducing smelly people in the breakfast area. Staff lied about them even staying there. Morning front desk person even denied anyone was even in the room next to me. Will never ever stay again.

There was a room near yours that had some unruly guests in it and were evicted the following morning and we do apologize for that. Large and comfortable room - very pleasant and relaxed hot tub and pool area - easy parking, quiet and affordable. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for an accommodation in Eureka!

My family enjoyed the pool, pool table, fire pit and hot tub. It is money well spent on the hotel with such great amenities. The lobby has an beautiful aquarium with many fishes. The location is very convenient. However, the carpet was not well vacuumed, some bits of snacks and sunflower seeds were under/next to the bed on the carpet.

When we chose the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn, we were expecting a nice room at a reasonable price. What we weren't expecting was the great customer service and the additional amenities. The staff was exceptionally helpful, the Oasis Spa area was extremely nice and relaxing and the free stretch limo that took us to dinner and picked us up was an especially nice surprise. We will definitely stay here again when we are in Eureka.

Put TV wall of adjacent rooms facing each other? Maintainence staff rolling their individual carts out of storage ONLY in corner near a handful of rooms only — vibrating, sounding like thunder, 8:12 am on a rainy, no activity possible Sunday morning? Rare occasion—adjacent room watching T.V. past 4 am. Staff had to call to stop it — Offering acknowledgement of an older building's thin walls, generously handing ear plugs only at check out?

The room was clean and comfortable. I didn't take note of anything special. The grab and go breakfast was nice as you could pick what would go in your bag. We had an issue with the room key card and they sent someone immediately (was there before I could even get back to the room) so the service was great. Everyone was nice and helpful. The choices in Eureka are limited and this appeared to be one of the better ones.

Our family had a great night's sleep at this location! We arrived late on a Thursday night, and the property was very clean, well maintained, and well lit. Check-in and check-out were fast and easy, with staff that were responsive and friendly. Being right on the 101 there are plenty of choices for food and gas nearby, but once you're inside the wall around the property the highway noise from 101 fades away. Unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy the Oasis or get a ride to dinner in the limo, but we would definitely stay here again! Very convenient southern base for us while exploring Redwoods National Park.

Hotel and room right next to 101. Garbage dumpsters with a Saturday 5 am pick up right outside room."Unplanned" Road works until 10 PM... All in a two night stay. My husband and I often stay a Best Western hotels and are Gold members. A "plus" status usually stands for quality so we decided to stay at this Best Western as we were just coming off a long road trip and we needed a good night's rest. When I reported the issues above to the front desk, we didn't receive any apology. We were instead offered ear plugs. Don't stay at this hotel.

We do apologize about the room that you were in that was close to the unannounced road construction to us happening near our hotel on the night you stayed. The City of Eureka and Cal Trans have been doing major sidewalk and paving upgrades all over town. After the paving was complete, they assured us everything was completed. Well, as you heard, they were cementing the man holes that night that started around 7pm and lasted for about 3 hours. The construction is completely done now so there is not any construction near our hotel happening at this time. Our property does take up an entire city block with 6 different buildings and many quiet rooms to choose from that are definitely away from the street ...the next time you need a room in Eureka, please call us directly and we will ensure that your stay is a great experience and in a nice, quiet location. We hope to see you again!

I travel to the area on business 8-10 times per year for a couple of nights each. My wife travels with me and we won't stay anywhere else in Humboldt county. The property and room here are so nice, the staff is amazing and the "Oasis" hot tub area has to be seen to be believed. And the icing on the cake is the stretched limo that the hotel provides from 5-10pm M-F for rides to dinner and back. Definitely no your average Best Western!

Upon arrival, the front desk gentleman was fantastic, very nice, helpful. We needed laundry and of course they had one. We were able to get in early and decided to order from Kristina's. Food was great, but we had to call them back to get the order completed. Very clean, but why not have fitted sheets? The flat bottom sheet does not stay on.

I have been traveling to Humboldt County for work for the past few years and early on I learned that there isn't a wide selection of national branded hotels that consistently deliver a good travel experience (e.g., Marriott). I am very grateful I found Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn years ago - I always stay there when I'm in town - I most recently stayed there in October 2021. From the road, the hotel is rather unassuming. But when you turn into the parking lot, you can tell the property is well-maintained and the staff are helpful and welcoming. For me, the most important thing is that everything is CLEAN. The beds and linens are fresh and comfortable, the bathrooms feel clean, and the rooms feel comfortable and safe. The property is decorated seasonally and there is even a large hot tub area called "The Oasis" - normally I would avoid a hot tub at a hotel, but like the rest of the property, you can tell this one is well-maintained and clean with no overwhelming smell of chlorine. There is a fire-pit area that actually works, and that I've sat at with business clients in the past. At the current time, I don't think non-hotel guests are allowed in the shared areas due to COVID-19 (which I appreciate), but I'm sure that will ease up in time. There is a limo that's available to bring guests into town for dinner, which is really convenient since Uber and Lyft can be lacking. Lastly, there's also a great breakfast in the morning. Parking can be tight, but I've always found a space somewhere on the property. I really appreciate the effort the staff put into their lovely property, and I will continue to stay at this property in the future!

The room was clean, though a bit cramped size-wise especially bathroom. The pool area was really amazing…largest hot tub I have ever seen, plus lovely appointed patio with nice seating and portable heaters for when it is cold. Breakfast was grab and go, due to Covid. As we were leaving breakfast area an employee came out with a can of Lysol spray and spayed everything on the counters: fresh fruit, clean paper plates and cups and silverware!! Is she not aware that it is not for people's consumption!? Super gross!

The room was nicely appointed, very clean and the bed was not too firm. Staff was extremely friendly, giving a detailed map, a list of area restaurants and nifty Lincoln limo that would take you to and fro any restaurant. The grounds were very nicely landscaped, and very well maintained. However, the facility has several different buildings and parking is tight and somewhat difficult to negotiate.

Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good for a “take away” type of Covid adjustment. Lots of separate seating areas near the breakfast. Oasis area was a great bonus with a pool, hot tub, fire pit and pool table. Would stay there again if in the area.

We picked Best Western Humboldt Bay Inn in Eureka, CA. because of the location. Our family was able to access the hotel at various times, as schedules were different for everyone. We were still able to maximize our time together and get the most out of our staycation. The hot tub was not only big enough to accommodate all 10 of us, but there was a JC soccer team there too! The pool was warm enough for me to enjoy swimming with my grandson for the 1st time. The pool had a basketball hoop where my daughter taught me how to throw a basketball for the 1st time at 63 ❤. We had a very memorable time. Thanks for the beautiful and clean Oasis.

It is obvious that the management takes pride in this property. It is clean, well maintained, and everyone we had contact with was friendly and helpful. The room was updated and spacious with a very comfortable bed.. Breakfast was provided in the pool/sunroom area with lots of plants and heaters for warmth. I will definitely stay here if I'm ever in the area again.

It is a large complex. As a solo traveller I have a knee problem so needed a bottom floor room and they gave me a room on a private parking lot and felt very safe. They offered free use of limo to take me to dinner. I didn't need. Check in was smooth and I was provided a lot of information on surrounding area. Eureka was a little more lack luster kind of Portland of California with out as much charm. Homeless are pretty prevalent. The hotel was top notch. There was another BW and I went by that location and so glad I picked this location. This place was amazingly quiet.

Did not expect the level of excellence. So many reviews about homeless and area we almost changed. This area is not that bad(North Carolina Couple). There are homeless everywhere so that's not new. The motel was CLEAN. Very clean and keep up well. The breakfast was the best we had all trip with the limited COVID restrictions. The pools where heated and the hot tub is HUGE. If we knew all this we would of stayed two nights. Would stay again for sure. The staff was more then helpful. Not much was opened on Sunday but they recommended Mod pizza which was new to me because we just wanted pizza and it was great. We used the washer and dryer to because it was halfway through our road trip. Quarter for dryer per 5 min 2 dollars a wash. Smaller size but I mean your on vacation why you packing so much? Great place, great people would stay again.

This hotel was straight from the 1960's. We were given the "honeymoon suite" due to it being the only room left at the hotel. The carpet was filthy and the room was so cheesy as far as the decor. It definitely needs an update.

Not sure if the room was clean or not since it was so dark - brown everything. Horrible mattress and pillows and thin walls made traffic noise feel like it was coming through the room. The outside of the building needs paint, cleaning and maintenance. Couldn't wait to leave. Diner next door was the only good part of the stay

The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. We took advantage of the free limo service to dinner so we didn't lose our parking space in front of our room. The "hot breakfast" has been cancelled due to COVID but they offered just as much variety in individual containers as other Best Westerns offered in the past. Plus they had prepackaged breakfast sandwiches that we heated in the microwave in our room. We felt their breakfast was preferable to the old buffet style of serving yourself from open containers. If we ever go back to Eureka we'll be staying there again.

We have stayed at this property various times over the last 12 years. It has been consistently clean and well kept. During Covid times they are taking cleaning and safety seriously. The hotel is right on the main highway but we have never heard any traffic noise. Rooms are well appointed and beds are comfortable.

Be sure to get a room off the courtyard as all other doors are open to anyone wandering down the street. Breakfast area was decent and a nice selection of food. Rooms are dated, but wifi was OK. Other options we saw didn't seem that much better.

Not worth the money! This hotel is worth no more than $120/night (vs. the almost $400 we paid, which included military discount) based on the TRUE VALUE of the room. I absolutely won't stay there again. We were put in a room (in a hotel full of vacancies) that was out in the back parking lot and not accessible to pool area except to walk through a parking lot. We were charged an "upgrade fee" to sleep 4 people in a room with 2 Queen beds without knowing the room barely fit 1 Queen size bed (with the table & chairs that were in place). There was no feasible way to enter/exit the bed without climbing over the top of the bed/other person closest to the door. The TV was positioned directly in front of one bed (again the added bed was an after thought). There was no closet space for 4 persons and our luggage. Only a "small hutch". The room decor was outdated, the walls dingy & in need of painting, and the wallpaper was peeling from the bathroom wall.

Our rates are less most other months of the year. Our property does take up an entire city block with many different room types to choose from. The room was decently clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was not working properly. The room was overpriced...with tax just under $300/night and was what I would expect of a room that is $150-180/night

First, the lodging on a weeknight was a bit steep ($300) but we later realized this hotel has a recreational area on site called “the Oasis”. This consists of a large jacuzzi with waterfall, a large fire pit, a swimming pool and pool table and several lounge chairs and tables with lighted tiki torches. It resembled a resort in Hawaii! The rooms were small but nice. I liked that the fridge actually had a freezer so I could freeze my blue ice for our ice chest! The staff, a young man, was very friendly upon our arrival. I felt this was one of the best breakfasts provided of any hotel we recently stayed at. You pick what you want from breakfast room: a breakfast sandwich (egg white, sausage party & cheese on English muffin), a juice machine, assorted packaged pastries, yogurts, bottled water and fresh coffee. The sandwich was delicious. I noticed as we left staff was sanitizing all the tables after patrons left & a groundsman was sweeping up trash & leaves from parking lot. The grounds are well maintained & nicely landscaped. Nice place for families with kids/teens!

Our two night stay at the BW Humboldt Bay Inn was very nice. Comfortable and clean rooms and space to spread out a bit while having an exceptional pool area that was open and very well maintained. There were a few using the outdoor pool and free form hot tub but it was not crowded. The included breakfast was convenient and a step above what is offered at many hotels in this unprecedented time. This is a spot we would return to easily and we appreciated the limo, yes limo, shuttle that took us to dinner.

My family (11 and 16 year old kids) stayed at this hotel to use as a home base to explore. We traveled north to see red woods, kayak, visit Trinidad, ride along the coast, and south to see Avenue of the Giants. It worked out as a great location to stay. I will be honest I was a little skeptical due to it's location, however, once you are in the "oasis" it's almost easy to forget the busy road and industrial type setting outside. We enjoyed the pool/hot tub area very much. Rooms were clean. Grab and go breakfast worked out fine for our purposes. Highly recommend this motel.

We were very happy with this location for being able to go both south and north to see the Redwoods. We did feel the room was overpriced; as we're traveling July-August, this was the second most we were paying per night anywhere during these two months! Room was spacious, clean, love all the counter space by the sink. A fuse did blow when a hairdryer was turned on the 2nd morning of our stay, but a quick call to the front desk and this was addressed immediately. The b'fast was "grab and go" which was fine given the rising numbers of Covid positive in the area. Most people were wearing masks -- and most were even wearing them properly! Only disappointment was that in the bfast area -- which we had to ask how to get to the first morning -- was that people did not respect limiting the number to 4 being in the room. This was also close to the historic downtown and there was an organic supermarket not too far away which was nice.

Fantastic hotel. Clean, comfortable, great bathroom, comfy bed and wonderful grounds. This is a gem! We are headed on a Hwy 101 road trip from Seattle to SanDiego. This was the first perfect stay since leaving Seattle. There are 2 pools so to speak. One is a huge hot tub that many children swam in. The pool area has comfortable lounges with electric fireplaces, fire pits and outdoor heaters. It looks like an outdoor living room. There is a complementary limo service that will take you to a variety of restaurants. A hot breakfast sandwich was served in the morning along with some pastries, yogurt, cereal, and fruit. To drink was bottled water, OJ, cranberry juice and coffee. There is a pool table located by the main pool. Honestly, this is a really great place to stay. Remember to tip the daily cleaners. They do a great job on a minimum wage.

This was my 2nd stay at this lodge and I highly recommend it. The guest rooms are well equipped and maintained. The breakfast options were numerous and healthy, and all staff seemed to be working in unison to make this lodge as guest-friendly and pleasant as possible.

This was one of the nicest Best Westerns we've stayed at! The pool and jacuzzi was definitely the hit of the trip. My grandkids loved every min of it! We will definitely be back❤Great experience! Staff was very helpful! Until next time... Tina Peddy

I could not imagine a better hotel to stay at with the kids along this coastal city. The pool area makes this hotel stay with family memorable. Great place to relax after a day of exploring the woods/beaches nearby. There is a heated pool with 8' deep end and a large hot tub that accommodates multiple groups socially distanced. (The hot tub is the gem here and nicer than hot tubs at fancier hotels elsewhere) The pool patio area at dusk feels like a mini tropical getaway with tiki torches, fire pit, heat lamps, tables & couches, tropical music, etc. Pool area looks recently renovated or upkeep has been very good over the years. Bonus was cold filtered water dispenser to refill our water bottles. Rooms are basic as expected with exterior hall entry (which is a nice bonus during COVID). We had a 2nd floor with 2 double beds. Room had bar fridge/freezer and microwave. Coin laundry on site. COVID breakfast selection in pool area included Jimmy Dean sausage & egg muffins/croissant, cereal, yogurt, fruit, tea/coffee. Staff friendly and in particular the morning pool caretaker/housekeeper who took the time to answer our questions about local hikes/attractions and offered a couple maps. Would stay here again if our travels bring us to this area next summer

This Best Western was not a great spot to stay. The rooms had a musty smell to them and when you walked in the lights did NOT work. After we got into the room, the bathroom had hair on the ceiling as well as the shower walls. The bed slanted downwards, towards the head board and the mattress was lumpy. The walls were so thin you could hear the neighbor watching TV and others talking outside our door. When checking out, we did the grab and go breakfast. They would NOT allow more then 4 people in the space to grab food. If more then more walked into that area, there was a women who came out to yell at you for having to many people in that area. I did NOT understand that, because there were more then double that in the lobby waiting to check in when we first arrived. I believe the lobby space is about the same size as the grab and go area. Overall the staff in the lobby were very nice.

We started our trip through the Redwoods by driving through the Avenue of the Giants and ended our day in Eureka. We stayed here for 3 nights as we explored the nearby State and National Redwoods Parks. We were upstairs on the corner room and it was very pleasant. The room was clean and quiet. It was in the middle of the property and we did not hear any noise from Highway 101 which drives by both the front and back of the property. The only thing that I would comment on is that parking seem to be very tight and there were several very large work trucks because the power company and construction companies were doing work nearby and we're staying at the hotel property. The room had good Wi-Fi. There is a restaurant next door which is an ole diner style and descent food which was easy after a long day of exploring and hiking. The hotel had to go breakfast with fruit, cereal, bottled water. There is a very large pool deck with 2 pools and jacuzzi and lots of seating areas. We would definitely stay here again when we go back to the area.

Not a good place. I stayed with family. Beds and rooms were unhygienic- we got allergies, couldn't sleep. Basic motel with high price. There are much better options we moved to later. Small cramped rooms. Coffee maker was in rest room next to toilet.

We always love visiting Eureka because it's much cooler in the summer than home. This is the first time we stayed at this Best Western and the location is amazing. Within (a long) walking distance, but plenty of restaurants and near downtown. The employees for check in and check out were wonderful and efficient. The room was clean and nicely decorated. TV was included(we watched a lot of rugby haha) Bathroom was clean, plenty of towels and the shower was big and warm. The only issue we ran into, was the traffic noise. Which cannot be helped because it's on the corner of the two busiest roads in Eureka, so really, we should have expected it.

Check in was quick and easy despite us being somewhat late The room was clean and seemed to have been remodeled. the beds were double, but comfortable lighting was average they had outlets by the bed for charging phones The air conditioner worked well they had a decent TV with good channels They had a nice gym the hotel had a very nice lounge/spa/pool area. very pleasant in the evening. they had a very elaborate semi grab n go breakfast with many selectoins. they had pleasant outdoor dining A very good option for staying while seeing the Redwoods National Park

Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn is the Best in all services in comparison to ALL the other BW Hotels in the area including Hampton! The parking is tight, there is no doubt about it, however, overlooking this: They have one of the best service desk team, grounds-maintenance personnel and excellent room attendants! I left Hampton Inn three years ago and began staying at this hotel since then for travel- work needs. They do have employees that stay long-term including the Limo driver, etc. That tells me the manager or General Manager is doing something right! Thank you BW Plus Humboldt Bay Inn Team members!

Decent room and amenities. Not sure I would rate it a plus but it was just fine for an overnight stay. Excellent breakfast offered on the patio. I would stay again. Staff was most helpful in helping us with dining options.

The hotel is in a great location with a beautiful "Oasis" of a pool and hottub. The outdoor area is a great place to have a meal and relax after a day of exploring the Redwoods and North Coast. Staff were very nice and helpful. Rooms were comfortable. If you are in the area, you will be happy if you stay here.

i am not a "motel" person usually however i loved this best western! the property is very well maintained, the room was updated and clean, and the best part was definitely the oasis! they have a pool and a very large hot tub which felt amazing on during the chilly CA evenings. the hot tub had an "adult swim" hour from 10-11 pm which was nice. grab and go breakfast was great as well with plenty of options. would definitely stay here again if i ever come back to eureka!

I was happily surprised when I stayed at Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay!! The entire property is very well taken care of. There isn't a view of the bay, but the awesome pool area makes up for it! Large spa, heated pool, fire pits, lounge areas, and a pool table! I will definitely stay at this hotel if I am ever in Eureka again!

What a special place. Clean rooms, great service, and as a bonus a limo to take you to and from dinner - oh, my, felt very special indeed. Breakfast, even with the Covid restrictions, was from a wide range of offerings and we ate next to the pool with a great atmosphere.

Great family suit! Amazing Oasis with fantastic amenities!! Without a doubt the nicest hotel in all of Humboldt County. If you haven't stayed you should. It is attached to a wonderful restaurant and extremely close to various other places to eat or shop for necessities.

I was there for business and spent a lot of time in the room. The hotel is close to many things in the city as well as in the area. Nice hot tub even if I didn't use it often. The firepit and heaters were great additions. I had a room that was mostly quiet. Plenty of others were there noted by the workers from the various california company vehicles parked. Sometimes they were louder outside but overall things were good. The hotel is also easy to get in and out of. The breakfast didn't have great options for me in the morning and I ate elsewhere. Not much for vegetarians beyond the basic cereal and yogurt. I'll be staying there again as it is one of the better choices in the area.

Not only are the rooms spectacular, the spa/pool/lounge area will 100% exceed your expectations. This hotel can be packed on the busiest weekend with everyone in the Oasis, yet you could find your own private space to visit with your group, family or just enjoy some solitude in your little place of heaven. The only downside to this Best Western was no full free breakfast. No worries though because there is a Krystina's restaurant right next door. You could enjoy your breakfast there, order to go or order through Door Dash straight to your room. My daughter and I chose Door Dash and enjoyed our breakfast in the Oasis. GREAT EXPERIENCE!

I wanted to like this place more. Nice appearance, decent rooms, and clean. However, the mattress was very hold and sagged. Shower door jammed. I get that mattresses may be tough to know at times and everyone has different sleeping habits, but this mattress was obvious in it's sag. Should have been replaced a long time ago. any cleaning person should see and recognize a sagging mattress and shower door that jams. Maybe it was just our room, but outside of that it was a clean place, good location and good staff.

We stay at this BW often. It is like an oasis in the middle of Eureka. Staff is exceptional. The grounds and rooms are always ultra clean. The pool area is a great place to hang out with friends and family. The dinner limousine is a great perk to take advantage of so one can imbibe responsibly and have a special night out. Centrally located for visiting the redwoods, HSU, Eureka and the north coast. Our go to hotel in Eureka.

This is the nicest Best Western we have ever stayed in. The rooms are updated. The room and the grounds are beautifully decorated. Staff were very kind and helpful. Location was great. Will stay here again.

My family and I have stayed here on many occasions over several years. I recently went for a weekend and was reminded what a gem this place is! The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. The layout is beautiful with a very tropical, relaxed ambience. Hawaiian music, fire pits, an amazing heated hot tub the size of a small pool. The gym is equipped with new machines and a great massage chair for use after a hard workout. Breakfast is included and is very generous with options for all diet needs. They also adjusted for Covid regulations well while still offering a fun vacation atmosphere. I highly recommend a stay here!

We typically stay at 4+ hotels, but could not find such in Eureka. This motel was extremely clean and had unexpected amenities. Beautiful pool area with outdoor area with fire pit and large hot tub for adults only. Would definitely stay there again.

When I booked this hotel, it was based on the pics of the spa area. But when we pulled up, I was horrified by the location, in an island between north and southbound 101. So noisy! But imagine my surprise when our room ended up being very quiet. No view, just a small parking lot, but we could back our car right up to the door. Easy walking distance to several restaurants, and coffee shop was right next door. Front desk staff was super friendly, and the breakfast was fine. And that spa area was darling.

If you blink (or mistake an older, larger and more-industrial type of Best Western for this beauty) you'll be sorry. Clean room with beautiful inside pool/spa area. Super comfortable rooms and super friendly/competent staff. Best breakfast - barring Covid - we have ever experienced on the road. Save time for that great pool and really intimate spa. Very convenient coffee shop next door, with lots of good food. Again, special people who want to keep you safe and happy. The hotel is a win-win-win.

My family of four spent three nights at the Humboldt Bay Inn as part of a trip to far northern California. By far the main selling point of the property is the lush tropical outdoor area that gives the impression of staying at an expensive resort for a bargain price. This holds a heated swimming pool; huge and beautifully decorated hot tub with a waterfall feature; fire pit area; gas fireplace; exercise room; billiards table; and numerous tables for sitting and eating. The pool and hot tub conveniently open at 8 am for early risers who want to miss the crowds. There is also a restaurant on the property, which we didn't try (no outdoor dining area and we were getting tired of take-out). Don't miss the saltwater aquarium in the lobby. We stayed in a two queen bed room that was a bit small but clean and perfectly adequate. Larger rooms are available. Rooms open directly to the parking lot, which we find convenient. Having two kids along, and especially in the era of COVID, we greatly appreciated the number of full-sized outdoor trash bins around the property. Because of COVID, services were limited: breakfast was grab-and-go only (but could conveniently be eaten at a table by the pool) and no housekeeping service after arrival. Employees we interacted with were nonetheless all very helpful. The inn is located right on Highway 101 where it splits into two one-way streets through town, making it an easy departure point for drives further up the coast. The immediate area is slightly run down but it is within easy walking distance of old town Eureka, the waterfront, and several restaurants.

Everything about this hotel was a step above what we expected. The relaxing recreation area took the stay to the next level. It was beautiful and relaxing with more amenities than expected. The hot tub was large enough for multiple groups to be safely distant

I've stayed here numerous times over the years and they've let me down. Always clean, staff is professional and attentive. The tropical themed Oasis alone, almost makes the trip worth it. Highly recommend!!!

I have stayed at this hotel for years, since before they remodeled some rooms and added onto their pool area. I love staying here because my 6-year-old loves the pool and I love the resort-like hot tub. However, I was shocked to enter the pool area on Friday evening to see people without masks on in and out of the water, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder. There were so many people that there were no towels, which also meant we had to walk back to our room dripping wet. In today's day and age, if a pool area is open there should be some monitoring of activity or it should not be open. I feel like this was gross negligence that could add to the spread of a horrible disease. We returned the following morning and were nearly the only ones in the pool area, easily able to keep a 6 foot distance. Hotel is always clean, and the room service from Katrina's is awesome. Walls are very thin, so beware that sleep quality is not as good as some other hotels.

Room was lovely and convenient.Cody at the front desk was instrumental with getting our booking (thru a third party) transferred to their location late at night. We truly appreciated his going the extra mile to insure our safety and keep us from traveling two hours further. Best Western is lucky to have such a fine representative! Thank you

My wife and I went on a road trip through Oregon and back to California heading down 101. We stopped in Eureka to try and get some shopping in Old Town. I found this place that had a Military discount. We've been to Eureka before and stayed at other places. But this place has been the best. The room was clean and updated. It had a fridge and microwave. The bathroom was clean. They have a pool area with alot of seating and built in heaters. They also have a huge hot tub/pool. My wife was excited about it after seeing it. (she's not really the type to like this type of stuff. but wanted to come back to spend time and relax in that area with the pool). the break fast was good. Cold and hot food was available. You pick out what you want, bag it, and take it back to your room. Definitely will stay here again on my next trip to Eureka.

This hotel is a hidden gem! I was supposed to stay here with my sons, and ended up coming alone at the last minute, and I had the BEST time here! The hot tub is the size of a pool and it has its own little oasis area--I was in HEAVEN sitting in that thing! The staff was accommodating, friendly, and fun! They have a complimentary LIMO to take you where you want to go, and the limo driver is wonderful! My room was spotless and spacious and had all the amenities! Since COVID, every hotel I've stayed at has lessened their amenities and cut corners on everything, but this hotel has INCREASED theirs because they've clearly been running their business right! I am actually going back to Eureka next month with my sister, JUST to stay here and spend more time in Eureka (my last trip was limited to one night)! I highly recommend this hotel!

I researved a special room that we always stayed in for years and years around 4 weeks in advance only to be bumped out of the room by a 'corporation' the week before our trip. The person at the counter said they upgraded me but it was not so! The garden area has the best rooms and this corporation took them all. The upgrade was in fact a downgrade! I cancelled the reservation (and my trip to the coast) and was told that there would be no charge at this time and to call back if there were any changes and if I wanted to rebook for a future date. Too bad it's the only holiday weekend left where we can swing this type of trip when the rates are good in the off season.

We appreciate that you have been our guest many times throughout the years. You are correct in that we do have a long term company in the building and room that you requested to be in... unfortunately, they did extend their stay on their rooms. We felt that we were doing the right thing by not asking the guest that was in the standard room you requested to move, since he was already in it for 30+ days and because of COVID policies in place. We did call you when we were notified of them extending their stay on their rooms and offered you an upgraded room (a suite) on your upcoming stay, but you canceled before staying with us. Again, we do apologize that this happened and we do look forward to you staying with us again.

The stay was ok. The room could have been in order when I walked in. The widow shade was off and laying on the chair. I did notify the front desk because I was tired and wanted to relax and not be bothered.

This hotel was very clean. I didn't find really any issues in our room. The only point that could be objectionable is the couch being a little dirty. I understand hotel furniture gets a lot of use and abuse. The property is well cared for and overall a great stay. The bed is comfortable and I felt the room was very clean, especially in regard to COVID. The hotel is kind of in a weird part of town. It almost seems industrial. It is near the bay and near downtown. Kind of hard to explain. I took a walk on the outside of the perimeter and there was basically nothing. Good stay, staff were friendly and I recommend.

Room was clean and comfortable. The whole ambiance was great. You don't see that in any other Best Western Hotels. The pool and spa were clean and usable during winter. The pool was pretty warm. The staff were nice and friendly. Breakfast was limited but it's the best thing they could do during this pandemic (still good).

We enjoyed our stay the pool and hot tub are super nice and my kiddo loved it! Grab and go breakfast was okay. Our room was clean, everything worked well. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

I've stayed at the best Western plus Humboldt be in on several occasions, and I must say I have never been treated better in my entire business life. The staff there is impeccable with their service and attention to detail. The oasis is incredible! You can't see it from the street but when you go there it's like you're in a tropical vacation spot! Chris Ambrosini the general manager treated us like royalty and I couldn't be happier. If you ever go through Eureka California and have a chance to stay somewhere make it At the best Western plus Humboldt van. You won't regret it! Five stars times 1 billion!

In this COVID-19 situation, we could see the hotel tries its best to keep the guests safe. Quick check-in & out, grab-and-go breakfast, and very clean guest room. The king-size bed was comfortable and I slept quite well after a long while! Thank you for your excellent service.

This hotel is comfortable and welcoming. It is very conveniently located in Eureka, close to everything. The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. A big bonus is their courtyard area that has a pool, large spa, seating areas, fire pits, etc. We ordered dinner from a very nice restaurant and ate our dinner outdoors in the patio under a heat lamp during November weather. It was really relaxing. Families were having fun in the heated pool and I love the outdoor spa. I have stayed here in the past and have recommended it to several families who all were happy with their stay as well. I also felt that their Covid-19 precautions were very good and felt comfortable about it.

We were looking for a redwood table base. Found a good company, redwood burl inc. drive through Avenue of the Giants was amazing. I recommend our Best Western hotel. A good location, nice room and a social area with pool and spa that was fantastic.

I've stayed in many hotels - having traveled around Europe and all This hotel comes close to one of the best. It may as well be a resort (I was here during the pandemic - the spa is quite empty) The spa is the highlight of this hotel Also nice is the complimentary limo drive We drove as a couple to Eureka primarily for this hotel stay, not for anything else.

I spent two nights at the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn...very pleased with the accommodations!! Front desk staff and mgmt were awesome to work with! Loved that they provide a limousine service...enjoyed Selina the driver! Another feature we used was the Oasis spa area, so beautiful! We will definitely be coming back to stay here!

I recognize that travel during the COVID pandemic is not the best time to be rating hotels, but even taking that into account, this property really needs to step up their game. A Best Western Plus should be a cut above the usual property in that hotel group, but I am hard pressed to think of anything that qualifies this one for that honor. Unlike the major chains, Best Westerns are all different from each other, but they should all meet the same standards. First, the items that have nothing to do with the pandemic: We had a room with a king bed, but it was a very small room that offered only the minimum in furnishings. But other shortcomings in some ways were even more of a problem. For example the internet connection was patchy. My iPad kept getting dropped from the network so that I had to keep logging in. My cell phone was never able to connect. And finally, the room comes equipped with the most basic coffee maker I have ever seen, and it was broken. Then there are the items that reflect an inability to adjust to a different model during the pandemic. For example, with so many restaurants serving only take-out, and many people not wanting to sit in a restaurant anyway, the room furnishings should be changed out to make it possible for two people to sit down together for a take-out meal. That was impossible with the furnishings we had in our room. Then there is the breakfast issue. Best Western has long served a continental breakfast to its guests. They are never the best meals, but they meet basic needs. Reflecting safety measures due to the pandemic, the hotel now gives each guest a take-out bag of miscellaneous items. In our case it was a banana, a bottle of water, a yogurt cup, a sugary cereal bar, a cup of canned peaches in a sugary syrup, and an inedible over-sugared pre-packaged sweet roll. Even in the conditions of COVID, they could better. What about single-serving packages of cereal and a half pint carton of milk, or individual oatmeal packets that can be microwaved with water (the room has a microwave)? Those are readily available wherever hotels are buying their food. A wider selection of fresh fruits? Hard-boiled eggs? Croissants from Costco? Pre-packaged servings of cheese? We were at this hotel for 3 nights and by the second morning we were already searching for alternatives to the breakfast they were offering. And finally, again reflecting changes due to the pandemic, with so many people doing take-out, the amount of garbage each room was generating was epic, and reflected in the over-flowing outdoor trash bins around the hotel buildings. The hotel needs to be emptying them much more often. One evening we had to go to 4 bins before we could find one that had room for our bag of dinner garbage. And related to that, since there is no daily housekeeping, each room should be supplied with more than one bag per bin per day without having to ask for more bags. We are likely to be visiting Eureka again in the not-too-distant future, but we would not stay at this hotel next time, nor recommend it to others.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your three day stay with us. Several of your issues that were brought up are COVID-19 related as you noted. We are definitely trying to follow all the guidelines set in place by the CDC, OSHA, our County, and the entire hotel industry. We would love to fully open our breakfast room and offer everything as before, but as stated the entire industry has been forced to offer the items that we are now offering in our "grab-N-go" breakfast style bag. Everything has to come individually wrapped and be able to fit in the bag. Currently, we offer bottled water, fresh fruit, granola bar, yogurt, danish, and fruit bowl. Yes, you are correct about more garbage being produced, which we have increased our garbage pick up to everyday of the week and we empty all garbage receptacles daily. Believe us, we trying to do what is right and safe of all our guests and employees during this difficult time, while hoping that this pandemic ends sooner than later and hopefully a vaccine is available to those that want it so that everyone can get back to living a happier, normal life. Regarding the mention of the furniture in your room...Our property has nine different room types to offer...your room was a business king which is furnished with an oversized desk and a recliner/ottoman with a smaller round table. We do offer other rooms with different seating arrangements that would fit your needs. Since you were here for three days, we wish some of your issues were brought to our attention while your were here at/after check-in or on the first day of your stay, as we are very confident that all your comments could have been easily addressed and corrected to your liking, including the internet issue that you experienced with your devices. We hope that you will consider staying with us again; please contact me the next time you are in Eureka and I will ensure that your next stay with us is a positive experience.

I had booked online a nicer 'Deluxe' room with two queens. When we arrived at 5pm, we were placed in a building away from the main building closer to street traffic. This so called deluxe room was a cramped room with a table and two chairs that were essentially inaccessible because they were between a bed and the wall. The room was not 'Deluxe' but a regular room. We could also hear traffic even though the windows were shut. I would suggest finding another location when in Eureka.

We stayed three nights at this hotel. The neighborhood is not very appealing, but if you have a car you can drive to other places. The room was big and clean. The hotel has a nice pool and a big hot tub that we used a couple of times. Everyone from the from desk to the room service was very friendly and eager to help.

We stayed here after reading reviews of hotels in the area and felt this was the best fit during Covid. You can pull up to your room and easily avoid others and or keep your distance. The pool and spa area is really nice. Large enough to keep your distance as well. Centrally located to all the areas we checked out. Rooms are nice and comfortable. I would stay here again!

We travel to the Eureka area a few times a year and have always stayed at what we "thought" was our favorite motel until we stayed at the BW Humboldt Bay Inn. Beautiful, Clean, Perfect! New "FAVORITE"!

This is our family's go to spot in Eureka, CA. We often come to the area for shopping, movies, or a nice meal out (well, used to before COVID-19). This stay was the first time we have stayed at a hotel after the beginning of the pandemic and I am pleased to report that the rooms were ultra clean and staff handled themselves appropriately. The property, in my opinion is a notch above others in the area due to its amenities and cleanliness -- the pool area is a wonderful oasis of relaxation with plenty of lounge chairs, dining tables, spa, two fires and great tropical vibe; and the complimentary dinner limo is a wonderful way to have a special relaxing evening out without having to worry if one imbibes (or doesn't). The staff here is very friendly, helpful, and super efficient. This is a great central place to stay if one is in town for business, pleasure (come see our beautiful redwoods), visiting kids at college, etc., etc.

Stayed one night, check-in was easy and we were given a list of dining options open for take-out, which was very helpful. They even had a limo that would take you out for dinner, although we didn't need to use it. The rooms were clean and spacious and staff were following health mandates for Covid. The outside pool area was beautiful, way better than I expected. The pool sized hot tub was huge which allowed for social distancing. Grab and go breakfast was provided and consisted of a danish, banana, yogurt, cereal bar, fruit cup, water bottle and coffee/hot chocolate. The lady serving breakfast was very friendly and patient. The area was ok, I didn't see any shady people or feel unsafe.

Stayed here for one night on our trip up the coast. Chose it due to brand recognition and other ratings. On the plus side staff was very friendly and provided us a check in with a list of restaurants open for outdoor dining. This was a big plus given the Covid environment with most places closed. Also offered free limo service to an from any of these restaurants. Room was clean, relatively comfortable, but you can hear a fair amount of noise, both outside and around you. Our room had a toilet with a broken handle which still flushed but was a nuisance.

This Inn is fabulous. Not only do they have an 8 person limo on call to drive you to dinner, their hot tub and pool are absolutely spectacular. I was able to swim laps in the morning with no one around and go over to the hot tub to relax with morning coffee. The rooms are quite large and the showers are generous and hot. This is a very very nice Inn that I am happy to recommend!!

The hotel is at best a motor lodge. The location and surrounding area in eureka are horrible - hotel is on a weird corner with rundown auto parts shops surrounding it. The room was comfortable and we were lucky to get the upper floor to avoid overhead noise. Beds were good and bathroom clean. The pool area was nice. I think the holiday inn down the street seemed to be in a better part of town. In general we would not stay in eureka again.

Parking is a challenge, but the limo service allows you to keep your spot once you have it. Otherwise this is a great hotel. The oasis hot tub is great for relaxing. The staff are wonderful. Lots of close by restaurants to choose from.

Upon entry into ground floor unit wife found hair in the sink and toilet. Of course management said they were sorry and would check with housekeeping. Hotel is smack dab in the middle of Hwy 101 that runs on both sides of the property. Requested another room and they stated there are no quiet rooms. Would highly not recommend this property to folks heading to or coming from Oregon. Keep driving or look for something farther away from 101.

The location is obviously older and dated but the buildings have been nicely upgraded. We were on the ground floor and had minor issues with sound transfer and a noisy neighbor. Outside appearance was great. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. Kids enjoyed the pool. The pool area, spa, etc. are very nicely arranged with a real "oasis" feel. They have a free limo ride to local restaurants but we did not take advantage of that. I would definitely stay again but would ask for a second floor room.

This particular property is such a beautiful property. Much attention has been paid to detail in the Oasis Spa Area, with the flow of crystal clear water, tiki torches, and background music. The room was very clean and relaxing. We were offered transportation in the dinner limo, which is a nice amenity to offer, but after driving so long we decided to walk to a nice restaurant just a few blocks away in Old Town Eureka. Front desk staff, housekeeping staff, and maintenance staff were kind, welcoming and friendly. I really enjoy staying at this property when I am visiting the Humboldt area.

This hotel looks cool and the pool area is amazing and of course the limo is awesome. Besides all of that I can safely say the stay was average at best. The service at this location is fine, not great and not bad but fine. It seems the staff does their job and nothing else which makes me think the management is a do your job and thats it nothing more nothing less. I always liked when Hotel staff went above and beyond or even had a great attitude, this place is lackluster and doesn't have much warmth. The pool area is amazing and reminds me something I might see at Disneyland or Hawaii. Truly spectacular and is one reason I would come back. Most Hotels don't provide a service to local restauraunts but this place not only does, they provide a stretch limo with an amazing driver. One of the main perks of this place. The Breakfast in the morning was a joke, in fact my wife and I found it so lackluster that we left it in the room when we checked out. I get COVID restrictions prevent offering the normal breakfast options and stuff but when the breakfast offering looks like the manager handed someone $20 to go buy pastries from Costco it leaves much to be desired. A sweetroll from Costco, a granola bar and a water is the breakfast. Most hotels and many even in this chain offer a breakfast burrito or sandwich as well as fruit and a juice as breakfast this place goes the cheap route. Based the majority of the staff's moods and the breakfast I concluded the manager of this place just doesn't care enough and did the bare minimum to get by. Again a nice property that screams average the whole way.

I stayed here with my family on our way to Oregon for obe night. Love all the amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the the pool area. It felt like a miniature resort- pool, large hot tub, pool table, and fitness center. I looked like there was a section for snacks & drinks, but was closed possibly due to Covid.

This place is fantastic! Friendly staff, very clean and even though the breakfast room is closed because of the pandemic, it's still a great deal. The pools and relaxing area is like a resort. It's walking distance to the downtown and waterfront area and even though it's on a busy street, the room was very quiet. I will come back!

Kids and family had a blast, kids loved swimming and relaxing in the hot tub, as well as free breakfast. Kids LOVED going in the free limo out to and from dinner. We will definitely be coming back in the future and have already recommended this hotel to family and friends.

Been using this Best Western for 10 years now for business. Love it so much I've also used it on vacations. Always clean and everyone is so nice. Not far from old town which is very cool and they're limo will take you there. Highly recommend

Great hotel that is centrally located within Eureka. Close to the historic section and coastal walking areas. Excellent staff with very clean rooms. We came for a quick three day stay and were welcomed and comfortable.

The women at the front desk were incredibly friendly. The fitness center was amazing (especially the massage chair). There's no onsite bar and restaurant but there is a nice little diner right next door that serves yummy food and beer and wine. The Oasis area was lovely but I forgot a bathing suit and as I really wanted a glass of wine before bed I opted for the diner instead of sitting by the fire pit.

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Best Western Humboldt Inn Eureka CA. We arrived a bit early and were able to check in. The rooms were nice and very clean. A great place for families to stay as they had lots to do, a huge heated hot tub, a heated partially covered swimming pool, a pool table and free breakfast! They had a good variety of breakfast items so need to go out for a spendy meal! And we felt very safe staying there! We will definitely stay again!

This hotel is just the absolute best my family and I have stayed at! The rooms are always clean, well maintained and everything is well stocked (including the free breakfast). The staff are the absolute best! They are always so helpful and very friendly (no matter how many times you interact with them), they will accommodate your needs if there is any way possible for them to do so. The limo service that is provided is also fantastic (the best part of that is, that it is included in the cost of your hotel stay, just be sure to to the driver for her excellent service)! Fabulous value for the price! We stay here every time we come to Eureka, CA (2-3 times per year).

Great hotel, friendly and kind staff. Everything was clean and Tide. Very clean bathroom and that's a huge thing for me in a hotel stay. The beds were made perfect and room was clean. A little pricey but worth it.

Stayed here several times before. Rooms were spacious, clean, quiet, and decorated with class.The front office was helpful and kind and the amenities were boundless. We also felt safe here, even though it is in the middle of a busy industrial area.

We love to stay here to celebrate our Anniversary. It is close to home, but offers a very relaxing break in routine. The staff is always friendly, rooms are very clean, and the spa area, complete with fire pits and heat lamps, is incredible. They offer a decent breakfast and we enjoy the workout room. They even have a full body massage chair in there.

I am so happy I found this place. It's a hidden gem in plain sight. I am very picky and expect quality when I stay in a hotel, this was definitely a quality stay. Don't miss the hot tub. Great place in every way.

This best western has a great hot tub and pool area. The breakfast room and fitness room are in the same area as the pool. Open air tropical atmosphere. Lots of heaters for winter weather. The staff seemed to be friendly and helpful.

This is our go-to place to stay when we are in Eureka. Nice, clean, and well appointed rooms. Personnel are terrific. Their oasis pool and spa area are truly an oasis in the middle of Eureka. Great area to unwind with friends, family and colleagues. The dinner limo service makes this hotel truly a notch above. Love that we can use the service to get to/from our dinner destination safely and be able to imbibe with no worries. Makes for a really nice experience.

The rooms I stayed in were clean and updated. Nice amenities. The hot tub was big and fancy. The pool looked cool but I didn't get a chance to use it. They have a pool table to use!! Staff was super friendly.

What a fantastic hotel, and it's a Best Western!! Spent 3 nights in the new suite with steam shower and it was fantastic. The room was elegantly finished and was cozy the minute you walk in. Bathroom was spectacular and the steam shower was the cats meow. I actually hated going out and doing things when I could just be hanging in the steam shower. Only down side to the trip was the power went out at 5 am and was off for most of the day. Thanks PGE!!

Welcoming reception, which was the beginning of a great overnight. The spa was extensive even in the winter. Our room was quiet and clean. We were worried about our car which was packed with stuff but the place was full and there were trucks parked on the street. Clearly this is a popular spot. The price in the winter was low and a deal. We walked to a brewery for dinner but they do have free shuttle to and from restaurants. We will stay again and regret not breaking up our trip back to Eugene.

Had a great room, very clean and comfortable. Much to our surprise there was also a free limousine service to take us to dinner and then back again safely. The next morning, the continental breakfast was complete with fresh waffles, donuts/pastry, and homemade breakfast sandwiches.

My family and I, a total of 4 adults, stayed at the BW Humboldt Bay Inn for 2 nights. We were there to attend a memorial service for my Brother who passed away in Sept. Three of us grew up in Eureka, Ca. We have stayed at this hotel before and this stay had a few problems, but we would still stay there again. The reading lamps that did not work, were quickly fixed (power strip problem). We felt crowded in the room with the 2 Queen beds and the table and 2 chairs, plus the desk and a large wooden wardrobe near the bathroom. It was hard to know where to put our bags, so we wouldn't be tripping over them during our stay. I was afraid to open the wardrobe to hang up things, as it was not level and it felt top-heavy. The refrigerator in the room made a noise that we thought was coming from outside, but eventually realized it was the refrigerator in the room. Luckily, I had earplugs to help me sleep. The breakfast as always was wonderful. Lots of items to choose from and we all found items we liked. Having a coffeemaker in the room, as well as a fridge and microwave was very handy, as we always take snacks when we travel. I had received some coupons online back in Nov. that had expiration dates and unfortunately I did not bring them, as they had expired on Nov. 30th. When I checked in I mentioned it and was told they would have honored them, but of course I had no way of knowing that. Still would stay here in future.

When visiting Eureka we always stay at the Humboldt Bay Inn. Friendly staff, a great spa area and central to downtown. The free limo service during the week is a great way to go out to dinner. Would highly recommend this hotel to travelers.

I've stayed at this BW dozens of times over the past 28-30 years for business and pleasure. This BW has had frequent upgrades and improvements over the years, always for the better. A great place to stay.

This hotel was clean and inviting. The staff was great and accommodating. We reserved 10 rooms ahead of time for a family gathering. Stacy was extremely accommodating. The beautiful patio was a perfect place for our family together. The heaters and fire places made it comfortable. Love this Hotel!

This property lived up to its Best Western rating. Staff was friendly and helpful and the property was clean and inviting. My room was perfectly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate but not exceptional. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

I recently stayed here because it was the suggested hotel for a conference. The hotel was more than adequate and a gem of a place to stay. My room was large and quite comfortable. The hotel is located in Eureka's old town so it is close to many other services. It is located on busy streets but the rooms are surprisingly quiet. The staff was very accommodating all the way around. Good complimentary breakfast and pool/spa area is really large and inviting. The place is well worth it if you find yourself in Eureka.

I would absolutely go back. The service was great, the free breakfast delicious and the Oasis was our favorite part. I have never stayed at a Best Western Plus before and I was very happy with our experience. The Oasis is an outdoor patio area with a large hot tub with lights, waterfall and comfy chairs and multiple heaters and gas fireplaces. It connects to the fitness room, breakfast room and the heated pool. It also has a billiard table. It was such a relaxing environment and such a great place for our kids to get out their energy. I would highly recommend it and will be coming back.

Out of all the hotel's I stay at. this is by far the best and my favorite. I always look forward to coming back here. Staff is helpful and friendly. Plenty of place to eat nearby. They also offer a great limo to pick you up to and from the airport.

Great location, well kept, friendly staff. Rooms are better than average but the facility is way better than most. Great pool area with nice area to eat free breakfast. I would stay here again over the other places I have stayed in Eureka.

Thisbis best place for family with kids, as they have 'oasis' pools and play area, and only 1:20 to 'tree of mistery', elks and other nature attractions. Oasis has huge hot tube (good for kids and adults', big pool with waterfall and basketball, fire pits and bar. So kids come there twice/day and was happy. And it is open until 23:00!

The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The Oasis spa, pool, fire pit are fantastic. The Northern California Coast and the Redwoods make for great daytime destinations.

As others have commented, we found it a bit noisy and location was just ok. Otherwise it was all right, but not above average. Room was comfortably furnished and clean. Did not sample the breakfast nor avail ourselves of the pool facilities..

We had many problems with paying at checkout. Keep an eye on the charges. The indoor spa was cold and dirty. I was told when I made the reservations that the ocean was one minute walk. Wrong ! That was the bay, we did not realize there isn't too many hotels near the ocean.

We are the BW Plus Humboldt Bay Inn (with the Oasis Spa Area and the complimentary dinner limousine). The other one is the BW Plus Bayshore Inn, which is the one you are reviewing as by your descriptions...we do not have an indoor spa. If you see our pictures, I'm sure you will see our beautiful Oasis Spa area complete with waterfalls, special water features and lighting, tiki torches, outdoor fireplaces with plush seating and much more. We hope that you will remove this review after seeing this error. If you ever come to Eureka again, we hope that you will give the Humboldt Bay Inn a try!

Good, large, clean rooms as expected from Best Western but the real highlight is the Pool and Hot tub. Actually the hot tub is more like a large, hot pool with some great waterfalls and light effects. And it's adults only from 10pm!

We were en route north on our trip and stopped here for a couple of nights It's quite nice , big rooms and bathrooms, well equipped and comfortable Breakfast room is tiny and it's very crowded Location is central and convenient WiFi very slow

The front desk lady was terrific. As usual, I don't remember anyone's names, but she was a little older and both helpful and sweet. In a 27-day road trip, the fact I remember her over a month later says something. Our room was clean and smelled good. We were a little disappointed that our shower was as awesomely illuminated as the one in the photos. It should have been explained how to get that one. Their pool area looks like it belongs in a five-star resort. It was full of loud kids and people who were far more awake and social than my daughter and I, so we didn't stay long, but did recognize what a rare gem it was. They have a limo that will take you to restaurants downtown, but again, with our exhaustion, we just walked around the corner to a large diner. Neighborhood looked like it could have been sketchy after midnight, but we were so far asleep by then it didn't matter. Breakfast disappointed a bit. Compared to other Best Western Plus locations, it was lacking in variety.

We have stayed here either to escape inland heat or on our way down from the Northwest. Either way, we love this inn. Situated near the inlet, we down our morning cup of coffee and partake of the free breakfast, and then take a long stroll along the patch adjoining it. The rooms are lovely. It features a unique indoor/outdoor pool plus hot tub that we used to soothe our road-weary bones. It's conveniently located right on the main route through town but is far enough away where you don't hear the traffic.

Recently stayed at this hotel while in eureka California. Check in was simple with no problems. Front desk clerk informative about the hotel. Room was comfortable with no issues. Free breakfast was your basic offerings, breads, yogurt, waffles. The breakfast was always well stocked and the dining room was kept clean. Would recommend this hotel if staying in eureka ca.

We had car trouble and the staff went out of their way to help us. We were stranded for a couple of day and they made sure we got accommodations and late check outs. They were very helpful with local information. The hotel is very nice, they have a beautiful pool and hot tub area. The room was very nice, clean and the beds were comfortable. My husband and I have not stayed at a BW in many years and now we're not sure why. This BW plus had very nice and comfortable rooms, nice amenities and great continental breakfast. The best part was their pool area called The Oasis. There was a huge jacuzzi, lots of outdoor living areas with fireplaces/ heaters, tiki torches and Hawaiian music. There was also a large pool and pool table as well. This place is a great value as well

Nicely appointed hotel. On the far edge of town but they will give you a ride to local restaurants and shopping in their fancy and fun limousine. They have a complimentary breakfast, workout room, and guest laundry. Staff was very friendly and helpful.We enjoyed our stay.

Best pool/hot tub in Eureka! Clean rooms and friendly staff. Free limo service is a definite bonus! The breakfast could have more options for what the cost of staying is, but overall this is a really great hotel to kick back and relax at.

Loved the pool and spa area! If you have not experienced this property it is a must! a great place for group gatherings...such a relaxing and exceptional addition to any stay!!! In addition the breakfast was much better than the average and we felt that even thought the location was not the best it was a super experience.

My husband and I were traveling from Portland to Santa Rosa with no agenda and decided to stop in Eureka. We asked for a room and Aaron set us up in the honeymoon suite. It wasn't being used and he could tell we were tired and could use a boost! The room was very comfortable with a huge jacuzzi tub, large television and a fireplace. The bed was really nice with super fluffy pillows. There was even a laundry facility on the premises and we were table to get caught up on our laundry. Breakfast is complimentary and there were lots of options. There was a pool and hot spa that looked very nice although we did not use it.

Great find for a place to relax and unwind after hiking in the Redwoods. The hot tub area was amazing. Truly one of the best hot tub areas I have experienced. The whole pool area was very well done and relaxing.

We didn't know what to expect, but were delighted by the Humboldt Bay Inn. You can tell that they take pride in their hotel and strive to meet and exceed expectations. The pool area was awesome, the rooms were very nice, and the whole place was just a step above most places we've stayed. Well worth the money (which, by the way was very reasonable compared to most other places we checked).

we got to the hotel after a hard day of motorcycle riding and just wanted to get some foor and rest. we went next door for fodd which was good. The parking was limited and a little difficult, but we were on a bike so it made it a bit easier. Breakfast was in the "oasis" which was very nice.

Hotel is within walking distance of the Old Town. It is very well maintained and is very clean. The rooms are well finished, It is somewhat expensive for the area, but is definitely a step up from the other hotels nearby.

Clean hotel with very large hot tub and pool area. Helpful staff and comfortable bed. The room was clean and had eveyrthing I needed. The rooms were all within a close walk to the pool area. There were plenty of lounge chairs and tables outside to enjoy.

I came to visit my son and grandchildren in Eureka....This hotel was perfect for me. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. The housekeeping was top notch....the room was cleaned early and was spotless. My room was roomy!! The pool and hot tub area was gorgeous....like a tropical resort!!! The location was really good....very close to the "OldTown" area with funky stores and restaurants. This is the first time I've stayed here when visiting the kids and it is definitely the place I'll stay on my next visit.

Way over priced. $213 for a little more than a Motel 6 room. Bad location. Sitting between 2 very busy one way streets. Crazy pool and spa area if you like to party. Breakfast is also Motel 6 quality.

This is the second time we stayed here. The quality is excellent and comfortable, near the center of town and the best of what Eureka offers visitors. Breakfast is full of diverse and healthy options. Pool, spa, and outdoor lounge are beyond expectations.

We were pleasantly surprised by the relaxing stay we found at Humboldt Bay! This was our first time staying in a Best Western Plus hotel and we were sold. The room was comfortable and clean (got my best night's sleep in over a week of travel) and the Oasis hot tub and pool area was so relaxing we didn't want to leave. In fact, I looked into booking our next two nights there and cancelling our existing AirBNB reservation but unfortunately for us the hotel was booked solid. The staff was wonderful and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. I was impressed by the amount of staff that I observed constantly walking around cleaning, picking up, putting things in place, etc. to make sure the area was well tended. This will be our spot whenever we travel to northern California. Thanks for the stay!

I stayed two nights at this hotel and had an excellent experience. This is my first time in Eureka and at this hotel. The property is very well kept. The Pool & Spa is very VERY nice and has additional seating close by. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The pastries are fresh and there are several choices of breakfast items. The room was very clean the bed still felt pretty firm. I can tell this is an older property (not new construction) HOWEVER the room I was in, and the front desk, pool area, breakfast room, parking area (where everyone goes) all looked to be in Very Good Condition. The owners appear to be conscientious about keeping the property updated and in good shape. Customer service /hospitality experience was very good. All staff I came into contact with, were helpful, friendly and welcoming. Also, my room was on the 1st floor and one evening the children upstairs were extremely noisy and produced a lot of heavy pounding/stomping/dropping sounds. After a long period of time I called the front desk to complain and the staff said they would immediately check it out. And they did! And it was totally quiet afterwards. I was pleasantly surprised that they staff responded and quieted down the family upstairs. The hotel also provides a FREE SHUTTLE most evenings. The shuttle is available 5 p.m to 10 p.m. and 5 or 6 days per week. A stretch limo will take hotel guests to nearby restaurants, and pick you up afterwards (by 10 pm). This is a very nice touch and a big bonus, in my book. There are several buildings on the property and by my memory, all buildings appear to be 2 story. I don't think there is an elevator to get to the 2nd floor but ... I didn't seek it out since my room was on the 1st floor. If this is important to you, call the property to specifically ask if they have an elevator for the 2nd floor rooms. I highly recommend you stay at this property.

Pool and hot tub were very good for kids. Rooms were small, old, and beds very uncomfortable. Breakfast was good. The location was right in town. We very much enjoyed the Old Town shopping. It was just too expensive for the room quality.

Like many, many others who wrote glowing reviews, I will join the chorus noting friendly staff who are always looking to enhance one's stay. A complimentary limousine service run by a true professional with a NEW Lincoln MK T stretch that is arguably the nicest limo in which I have ridden. The rooms were immaculate and the grounds impeccable. The Oasis spa and pool simulate a tropical paradise complete with palm trees, island music and heaters positioned to warm you up to the appropriate level of coziness. I have paid much more for much less. It is so nice to see this level of commitment to quality and at a reasonable price. Well done!!

We always enjoy staying in a Best Western hotel. Our room was very clean and everything worked. We really enjoyed the sofa and the recliner. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and when requested our room was stocked with decaf coffee. We will stay at the Best Western the next time we are in Eureka.

Excellent service, helpful staff, well-equipped rooms, bigger fridges, good breakfast, fast WiFi, pool, Jacuzzi, pool table, great location. Every evening the hotel offers complimentary limousine service to your favorite restaurant on a first-come first-served basis, but I didn't use it.

My wife and I were traveling up the coast and decided to stop for the night and found this hotel via a web search. I'm so glad we chose it. The staff was incredible. The rooms were very clean and the bed was som comfy. The oasis pool area is unlike any hotel at this level. My wife and I would have stayed longer had we had the time. Oh and if this isn't enough. I woke up to my battery being dead in my car. I went to the front desk and asked for help. They sent their maintenance man over to assist ( I don't think many hotels would do this). He was fantastic and got us back up and running after a challenging battery issue. My wife and I plan to make more trips to eureka to see the beautiful landscape and will definitely be staying here without question. I want to thank everyone at the hotel for making our stay so pleasurable.

The rooms are clean and basic, beds were comfortable. Staff is above and beyond nice and welcoming. The oasis is fantastic and relaxing. The spa is pool sized and separate from the pool, which is nice and big and warm. Hotel is close enough to walk to historic downtown, full of shops and great places to eat. Would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed in a few best westerns and have been disappointed. Not this one. Check in was efficient and quick. We got there early and managed to get an early check in. Bonus. Room was clean. Fitness room was well equipped . Breakfast was good. The oasis pool and spa was excellent. We really felt relaxed. It truly was an oasis. I think that all best western owners should go here to see how it's done. This hotel has it all. If we are in the area again we would stay here for sure. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

This place is efficient, nice and good for families. Our room was clean and nice, bathroom the same. But is was too thin walls, we could hear our neighbours upstairs and next door. Pool is ok for kids, and breakfast ok, as we could sit outside and the area was clean. The staff was friendly and service good. Parking just outside room is convenient.

Great parking, a friendly reception by the staff, a lovely room that was clean and fresh. We walked downtown - easy walk. Those are all the good parts. The great is the oasis - what a fun pool area! And we also got to enjoy it at breakfast as well. This was a great value for the money stay.

We have stayed here before. This is a nice and clean hotel. The staff is friendly. The linens and towels are good quality. The rooms are very clean. Their oasis area is beautiful with fire pits, hot tub and pool. Lots of comfortable lounge chairs and seating areas. Free breakfast. They even offer a free limousine drive to and from restaurants. We will definitely stay here on our next trip through Eureka.

What a surprise this place was! I had read reviews and looked at pictures, but it turned out to be better than we thought it would be. The location is extremely convenient. Parking was free and plentiful (we got a spot right outside our room). The rooms were clean (smaller and basic, but fine) and simple. There was laundry which we desperately needed! The front desk staff were very friendly and happy to give recommendations, answer questions, and make change for laundry. The breakfast was ok, nothing special, but adequate to get us going for the day. This property really stood out as a great place to say because of these two things though: 1. The complimentary limo was a fun experience for the kids to/from dinner. 2. The Oasis was a huge hit. The pool was really large and the basketball hoop was a big draw for all the kids staying here. The hot tub was large and looked so inviting with the tiki torches and waterfall. The fire tables and pool table made it a great place to hang out. We just wished we had a couple more hours to do so.

I have not stayed in a motel since I was a kid. But this place was top rated. Were not many options in the area. At least the rooms were updated and probably the best motel out there. Staff was friendly. Expensive for a motel.

The rooms were fine - standard, but the Oasis was fantastic. We'd been traveling down from Seattle, onto LA, and stopped here for the night. We had several hours to play outside and relax. Even though it was a little cool, the pool was warm, and the hot tub was perfect (and a good size). We felt perfectly safe. We made use of the limo to take us to dinner, but ended up walking back. Nice breakfast choices as well. The only thing I would point out, is that the hotel isn't gated in. I had been under the impression that the lobby, pool, and rooms were kind of walled in from the street, but that wasn't the case. The hotel was free standing with doors open to the outside. They were perfectly secure, however. I would stay here again (traveling alone with my two kids).

What an unexpectedly awesome little spot to stay! The pool area was a major hit with our family. Felt like a mini Mexico resort! Pool table, lovely seating/lounging areas, basketball hoop in pool - it had it all! Complimentary breakfast was above average. And, free limo rides to/from town! Which we took advantage of to get ice cream. A great stay all around! Would definitely stay again if we travel back through Eureka.

An amazing pool and spa area called the Oasis area amused the kids for hours. One morning they went straight from waffles for breakfast to the pool and spa. Rooms were near and tidy and check in / out was easy.

This Best Western is clean, neat and quiet - a great place to stay - and it is centrally located. Even better, on certain nights they offer limousine service to and from local restaurants. What a great perk!!

Looking to relax after a long week and this hotel was definitely the place to do so! The pool was refreshing and although it was outside it still maintained enough heat to be comfortable getting into. While in the jacuzzi I could close my eyes and imagine I was in a tropical paradise. I wasn't going to leave but when I found out that there was free limo service to local restaurant of my choice I had to jump on that! Definitely a night of feeling relaxed and spoiled. Also enjoyed the later check out time of noon, gave me a little more time to spend at the Oasis the following morning.

The rooms were very nice and the staff was very friendly. The pool area was beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was in the pool area and I don't think I have ever had a better breakfast experience at a Best Western. Even though there were several families there, I never felt stressed and the place never felt overrun. The only issue I had was that Eureka occasionally stinks outside, but I can't fault Best Western for this.

Above average BW nestled in its own compound. The hotel surroundings are not very inviting for walking around but the property itself is nice. Breakfast can be enjoyed inside or poolside if the weather permits (there are also many heat lamps). Our room was standard; clean, comfortable and with good AC. The hotel offers a free limo ride (stretch limo!) to local restaurants in the evening. There is a reason for this… Eureka is not the most appealing town, but a good location for visiting NorCal and the Redwoods, which worked for us.

Staff were friendly and efficient. The room was spacious, clean and the towels were big and fluffy. The laundry was convienent, but the dryer did not exhaust well heating up the room and taking forever to dry.

We needed an overnight stay on our road trip and decided to give this a try. I was a little apprehensive as the hotel has the curb appeal of Best Western circa 1977. However, looks can be deceiving. The rooms are modernized and have a feel of luxury. The pool area is heated with patio heaters, a fireplace and fire pit. It provided a cozy feel to the patio at night for comfortable swimming or just sitting around the fire. It was also greatly appreciated the next morning at breakfast when the June temps dropped to 52. The hotel even offers guests complimentary limousine rides to local bars and restaurants at night. Loved it! Nice, courteous staff and offerings. I highly recommend staying here.

I'm always pleased to see Aaron, he's really efficient and always to assure that my accommodations are met! It was also good to see Sarah, anytime I need assistance she attentive. She's genuine and sweet. I have to say that the majority of your housekeepers really work hard, I wish I knew their names, I would list their names. They continue to make the Best Western name look good in comparison to all the Best Western in the Humboldt Area! Thank you!!

Very comfortable accommodations. Quiet and generous sized room. Beautiful public "oasis" area: pool, spa, outdoor seating. Although there is a very good restaurant right next door, the hotel provides a limousine to drive you to any area restaurant you choose.

Our stay was very nice and the front desk staff was very nice and so accomodatiing. We also loved the added feature of a shuttle service offered to town and back for dinner. Breakfast area was too crowded so we decided to pass but otherwise very well run place.

This is a very nice motel, located close to the historic downtown Eureka, within easy driving distance of the old-growth forests of coast redwoods. If you love hiking in groves of old growth forest redwoods and along the northern coast, this is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are clean and relatively modern. One problem for some people might be the lack of elevators to the second story rooms. There is a nice diner immediately next door, though breakfast is included with the rooms and is served on site. Also, there is complimentary limonsine delivery to restaurants and other sites within Eureka. We've stayed here 3 times in the last 5 years and will probably stay here the next time we visit Eureka.

This hotel was fantastic! I stayed here with a friend on a recent driving trip through California. It has all of the basics - clean room, good wi fi, breakfast, friendly staff - plus extras. The jacuzzi and pool are beautiful. The jacuzzi is very large, with rocks all around as decor, little jets of water squirting through the air, and colored lights at night. Around the pool and jacuzzi there are towels, comfortable seating areas with fire pits, and attractive plants. Breakfast is included and there was the usual fare plus sausage, egg, and cheese croissant breakfast sandwiches and apple fritters. We did laundry in their clean washers and dryers (2 of each available). The price was similar to other hotels we visited on the trip but we got a lot more for our money than at the other places.

I was overcharged by almost $50 what was quoted to me on the phone. I was charged an incidentals fee even though I am a repeat customer and have never been charged that before. I must apply at my bank to get the incidental fees returned, not by Best Western. My price quote was $169. I was charged $216

We do apologize for the misunderstanding/confusion on your room rate, but you were only charged the room rate and tax as quoted ($169 + tax). There is an amount of $25 (this is well below the industry standard) that is only authorized to your credit card and only shows as an authorization on your credit card account - in case of any incidental charges such as restaurant, movie, telephone,etc. If there are no additional charges at check out, then the full $25 authorization amount is dropped from your credit card account. When you check out the only actual charge that goes through on your card is the room + tax and the authorization for the extra $25 comes off, but is never actually charged (it is just an authorization). Sometimes, it may take 24 - 48 hours to drop off, depending on your bank/credit card policy. We are sorry that the waterfall was not on during your stay, however the free-form, heated Oasis spa - complete with jets, ripples and other water features were all fully functional. Our entire Oasis Spa area, complete with fireplaces, plush seating and landscaping, tiki torches, heating elements were all fully open for all guests to enjoy, not to mention, our year-round heated pool and atrium area with billiards table and much more. Again, we do apologize for this... and we hope that this one incident does not keep you from coming back to enjoy another night with us in the future.

Good hotel with free limo service for the downtown restaurants. What a great freebie. Rooms were pleasant with a comfortable bed, comfortable linens and top of the line amenities. The free ajbreakfast was good and very tasty. I recommend this hotel for a trip to Eureka

We were more than pleased with the Customer Service and Amenities offered. When checking in, we were advised that the Hotel had a complimentary limo available to take us to dinner - which we used. While at dinner the limo driver came to advise us that she had a flat tire and could not return us to the hotel but did provide a complimentary taxi service for us. Then back at the hotel we took advantage of the Oasis - a wonderful outdoor social seating area with multiple places around fire pits, fireplaces, all lit up by Tiki Torches a wonderful relaxing environment that we enjoyed with our friends...thought we were at a high end resort. Thanks to the staff for a great traveling experience.

We've stayed several times during our visits to our students at HSU. This hotel has been reliable in every sense...wonderful staff, clean, inviting, comfortable, updated, great amenities (pool, fire pit, pool table, car service, etc). I'd recommend 100%

Imagine driving through an industrial area and finding a spa/great quiet space to rest and regroup. There is a special spa pool, a relaxation chair in the fitness center as well as well maintained equipment. The staff are all over-the-top sincerely friendly and the breakfast easy and efficient. This is also family centric with lots for kids to do. Best kept secret in the system

This is a Great place, everything was well done, just ask for an inner room if you are noise sensitive. The pool and hot tub are nice and the breakfast options are good. The free billard table is a fun option. *

Whoever designed the outside of this property (pool/spa/recreation area) really knew what they were doing. It seems like you are in a tropical paradise instead of on the corner in Eureka, CA. The staff was very professional and helpful, they have free limo service to local restaurants for dinner, and the breakfast was decent. One disclaimer: the double beds are more like an over-sized twin, so two adults can not sleep comfortably on them.

The place was large, covering 3 buildings. It was a motel type with outside doors to every unit. The oasis in the main building was very nice with space heaters and seating around pool and hot tub. It was a ways from town so you had to drive there.

This is a pleasant hotel and was a nice-to-find with availability when we arrived in Eureka at sunset after a long drive on a Wednesday night in March. We secured the last room and had to park in a part of the lot that was out of sight from our room. I was able to move the car closer in the morning but it was a wet dash through the rain in the morning. Being in Northern California, rain is common so I recommend carrying an umbrella. The breakfast area also required going outside to access so again, be aware of weather issues. They have a nice pool (small but interesting with tiki torches and landscaping) area and a tempting hot tub. We did not bring our suits but we would have used the pool and hot tub if we had. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean and suited to the class of hotel that it is. The breakfast was a standard basic buffet and included the ubiquitous waffle maker. The room and services were nothing out of the ordinary in either the positive or negative. I would recommend this hotel.

We often stay at Best Westerns because of the value and overall experience. This hotel was no exception. The rooms have been tastefully updated. Coffee pot, hair dryer, refrigerator and microwave were all available in the room. Water pressure was good and the shower head was high on the wall (important for my tall husband). Towels were soft and large enough to cover the body. The mattress was average softness. The real treat for this hotel is the pool/spa area. It is large, with patio heaters and fireplaces, as well as a large pool. The smaller pool is actually a hot tub, with jets and seating nearly all the way around. The only reason I failed to give this hotel 5 stars is because, while the rules to the hot tub are posted, they are very small and obviously no one except me reads them. There were numerous children and preteens jumping into the hot tub and splashing everyone it it. The kids outnumbered adults 2-3 to 1. Needless to say, we were not able to relax after long hikes in the park due to the children allowed to overtake the spa. I did not make a complaint, because I don't feel it is the customers place to police the facility. Perhaps a staff member could come out once an hour and check that rules are being followed, or make visitors sign that they have read the pool rules at check-in. It really was lovely, just not relaxing to be splashed in the face repeatedly both nights of my vacation. I love children, had two of my own and am a teacher, I don't have a problem with children being in the spa, but the rules clearly state that it is not a swimming pool and that is exactly what it was being used as. So, if you envision yourself having a relaxing evening in the spa and choosing this hotel for that reason, you might want to think twice. This was in March, I can only imagine what it is like in the summer. One great perk was the complimentary limo ride available Thursday and Friday of our stay (not Saturday). The surrounding area is a bit seedy with lots of homeless people due to the nearby mission. I would not recommend walking around at night. This applies to all of downtown Eureka, so all of the hotels in this area will have the same issue. The limo ride the 5-6 blocks to the downtown area for dinner was a nice surprise. Make sure to tip the driver, she is awesome! As always, the staff was great, the room and grounds were very clean.

We have stayed at this hotel before and knew somewhat the layout; they have I think 3 buildings. I am physically challenged and need an ADA room. I called and thought I was getting an ADA room close to the breakfast area (which is a long way from anywhere). We did get a great ADA room but it was in a room that was the farthest away from breakfast that you could get. For a BW Plus the egg muffin equivalent is a little disappointing, but that life. It is a good location and if you can use it the free limo is a great service. I will stay here again.

Eureka seems like a great place to explore, but we decided to hang at the Hotel's pool area! It was awesome! A heated pool and a hot tub surrounded with heating lamps and great decor! Hotel staff at check in was professional and polite. We got some recommendations for dinner and we took advantage of the free limo to and from dinner!! Our room on the other hand, not happy. It was big as it was a handicap accessible room, but as soon as you entered you could smell a scent (not sure cleaning supply smell or air freshener) to cover up the rug smell. That in turn caused my asthma to flare up and there I was running my nebulizer at 3 and 4 am! And because of that, we had to make a stop at an ER in Crescent City for a few hours because of the flare up! I did let the front desk know at checkout about the rug smell so hopefully it will get taken care of!

We do apologize about the chemical smell in your room as we had just completed our "spring cleaning" in that room and I can assure you that everything was spotless - from the bathroom walls to the shampooing of the carpet, it was all "deep" cleaned. I will speak to our head housekeeper on this to make sure we air out the rooms better after a thorough cleaning like this. Again, I apologize... We hope to see you again so that you can enjoy all the wonderful amenities that we have to offer and we will ensure that you will be in a room that wasn't just "deep" cleaned.

After a long rainy drive from San Francisco we were thrilled to find this hotel with a room available for the night. What an absolute treat and well worth the extra $$. The Oasis spa was the highlight for us. There was a great pool and big hot tub area, island music playing quietly, torches a blaze and multiple areas to sit in warmth and comfort for those not in the water. Breakfast was great. The room was super clean and the staff amazing. It is obvious there is pride in this hotel. This place was a pleasant surprise. We almost added an extra day to our trip just so we could stay longer. One thing to note: Rooms are accessed from the exterior.

The room was clean and spacious, the wi-fi was fast, the hot water was hot within seconds. The new spa was really a delight to son in, it had multiple jets at different heights and of different pressures, and the patio around the spa was well furnished, comfortable and warm even on a cold foggy day.

My absolute favorite hotel to stay at! Their amenities are absolutely amazing! The pool/hot tub area makes you feel like your in a tropical paradise! Not to mention our room was extremely clean and comfortable! We don't stay anywhere else!

After a long day of driving and working in the remote office, I grabbed a quick dinner and was ready for bed. Imagine my surprise to see a friendly face at front counter. The lobby decor changed my dreary outlook immediately. While the weather was blase, the warmth of staff and surrounding turned my frown upside down. The room was spacious and clean. Loved having the mini refrigerator. The shower had great water pressure and the bathroom heater was a nice bonus. The bed was plush and the bedding was warm. The HVAC system came online quickly and efficiently. The continental breakfast was plentiful. I am now looking forward to my next visit to Eureka to explore the region with the family. Great job to staff and management.

An amazing hotel with great staff! They offer a complimentary limousine Monday - Friday for dinner and their pool and hot tub are absolutely amazing! The staff are friendly and very helpful, especially with finding restaurants and activities in the area.

This place is exceptionally clean and has an amazing pool area and hot tub!! The people were very friendly and the location is perfect. We visited while in the road from Oregon to Napa and this was tman amazing oasis! We will be back!

perfect little hotel in the middle of town, with great food options and an even better staff. I would of given them a full 5 stars if the limo ran on Sunday's and the breakfast included a hot meat option instead of microwave sandwiches.

The hotel is in downtown Eureka and its literally off of Highway 101 mid-section of town, there's lots of traffic noise, however, the owner attempts to keep up the property. The staff attempts to meet the customers' needs and requests as much as possible. The rooms are one of the cleanest in Eureka or their surroundings which includes Fortuna and Arcata. When it comes to housekeeping, I feel this particular BWP has a little higher standards than Hampton Inn in Arcata. Most definately their housekeeping puts the surrounding BW to shame. Give BWPHBI a try, you may be pleased! I hope our business and customer relationship is steady and may be gives recognition to the price of an independent contractor's State Government value as time moves forward since I'm always needed to lodge and spend money! Very nice hotel right in the center of Eureka. Once you step through the doors of the Oasis, you no longer feel like your in Eureka! It is amazing, the pool is smaller than it looks in the photos online, but it's still a decent size and its warm!! Plus it's great for all ages, I believe it goes from 3-8 feet so perfect for all ages. The hot tub is amazing, as are the fire pits!

This hotel has a fantastic courtyard with hot tub, pool, pool table, and fire pit. If you have time to relax while your at this hotel I would highly recommend it for this reason. Although the rooms were large and comfortable there isn't much of a view unless you have a room that looks out to the courtyard.

Wow!!! Such a wonderful hotel!!! Make sure you pack your swimsuit~amazing pool and jacuzzi!!! The fitness center is pretty impressive too....what hotel has a massage chair?! And the staff was so friendly and helpful!!!

The staff is very nice and helpful, check-in was easy, room clean and comfortable. My grandkids loved the pool and the breakfast had a lot of options. I stay at this hotel every time I visit Humboldt University.

Great experience The staff is always friendly and willing to assist with local business and service. The grounds are always clean and orderly and video taped. Cool out door pool table, Jocose, swimming pool and out door bar. The exercise room equipment is very well taken care of and the vibrating chair is great after a work out and long drives. By far the best, Best Western in Northern California.

I chose this location as my stay-cation mainly because of the outdoor amenities and free limo shuttle. The hotel was so enjoyable my girlfriends and I never left. The room was clean and comfortable. It had all the amenities you could want. The front desk staff at check in and out were extremely friendly. At breakfast (even though a bit plain) the young girl working there was rushing around helping anyone in need and was so wonderful.

So delighted to find this hotel that is virtually hidden away by a bend in the road. Rooms are super comfy, free breakfast is better than ANY free breakfast we get on our travels - and as always, it's the staff that make our stay here special. Did I mention the great pool and Hawaiian themed hot tub that's big enough for a large party. The town of Eureka has some great restaurants too.

everything is always good we stay here about 2 times a year. The hot tub with the water fall is the best! the breakfast is always good and you meet a lot of nice folks here. when we travel to Portland Oregon this is our half way back point or Grants Pass Oregon.

Very beautiful property, polite and friendly staff, and great rooms. The pool area is very nice and great for families. Will definitely stay again, only down fall is its location in the middle of eureka on busy streets

I live in Eureka but recently stayed there for a couple days over Christmas Weekend to spend time with my kids swimming in the pool /hot tub area. Overall I was super impressed. Checking in (and out) was fast & hassle free and the two front desk staff were both genuinely friendly. The Oasis area is killer with the new huge hot tub equipped with LED lit up waterfalls, a fire pit area, clean heated pool all surrounded by lounge spots with heat lamps. At night it was hard to believe I was in Eureka, The kids about died they had so much fun in the pool. For 2 days all they said was this is "awesome". The continental breakfast is superb with lots of different choices including build your own waffles with all the fixings, 3 different choices of yogurts, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, oatmeal, donuts, bagels etc. All products were quality not cheap, all free and all you can eat. Area was kept clean & stocked by the breakfast attendant. I had just a standard room but still it was crisp clean with décor of old school logging photos. Overall I thought to myself that the whole experience was fantastic & kid friendly. There was no rude staff or false advertisements or some cut corner to put a damper on things. I left feeling happy that my kids had a blast and I had certainly got my moneys worth and even more so because the price was reasonable. I give it 5 stars for sure. My kids are already bugging me to go back and I am in.

We were coming towards the end of a road trip and had a suitcase full of clothes WHAT a delight to discover a self serve laundry in the block where our room was! Problem solved! Reception swopped $ into coins required and I got all our gear washed and re packed:-) Clean decent room, easy to locate motel, that included brecky the next morning. Brecky was usual fare but still great to have included. We enjoyed the information provided near the pool and brecky room re films made in the local region.

I have always stayed here when traveling through for more than 30 years. So last week when I was up in Eureka, I elected to try one of their new suites overlooking the "Oasis". Talk about class. They certainly did a great job when designing these rooms. Comfortable, roomy, classy are just some of the words to describe. My wife and I travel a fair amount and have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and these suites can stand up to some of the best of them. The staff are courteous and helpful and willing do do anything possible to make your stay memorable. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone traveling through Northern California. A true gem!

Great hotel in the middle of everything,super clean and the employees were so friendly, they helped with all our questions. Nicely lit, and really warm friendly place to hang your hat a few days. The bkf was great in the morning,something for everyone. You won't be disappointed with this neat spot.

We stayed two nights over Thanksgiving. When we arrived the clerk volunteered the quietest room without our even asking. Be sure to ask for the Sequoia wing as that is the quietest. The hotel is literally in the middle of 101 where it separates in downtown. There was not noise in that wing. The breakfast was surprisingly good with professionally supplied items. The staff even left us a Thanksgiving greeting. It is Best Western level of service and good value for the money. They even have a Lincoln on site for complementary travel downtown.

This is a very impressive Best Western that really pays attention to the details. The swimming pool and spa area were very creative. Rooms were very clean and also mildly creative. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The pool and hot Jacuzzi area are awesome. They have tiki torches in the evening in this outdoor space with music and a pool table too. The Jacuzzi is very large with a water feature and pool towels are provided. The continental breakfast has a large selection and the outdoor space is covered with heaters. The staff are excellent. They also have a small gym.

I hadn't been here before but I had business in the area so I decided to try this place. Everything was great, the service at check-in and check-out, the room, the cleaning, the wifi, everything was very nice until I went to breakfast. I was very surprised and disappointed to find out that if you wanted hot food you had two choices. You could make waffles or there were premade sandwiches in the frig that you could warm up in the microwave. Very sad.

Our breakfast room does include many items such as 2 types of Jimmy Dean egg/meat sandwiches, hot waffles, freshly delivered each day-muffins, danish, donuts, 3 types of cereals, 3 flavors of Yoplait yogurt, 3 types of Choboni greek yogurt, fresh fruit-apples, oranges, bananas, 5 flavors of hot oatmeal, breakfast bars, 2 types of juice, fresh coffee and an assortment of teas, etc. Also, for those guests that are looking for a bit more, there is a restaurant on the premise that opens at 6am for breakfast. The next time you come to Eureka on business, please call me ahead of time and I will be more than happy to treat you to full cook-to-order breakfast at the restaurant. This hotel is amazing. The pool area makes you feel like you are in Hawaii on vacation. The staff are always upbeat and helpful. The breakfast has a large variety. The hotel is so nice that we always feel they could charge much more than they do. But it is very affordable for such a top notch place. We love this hotel.

Enjoyed the hotel very much. Very nice and clean room and friendly staff. We really loved the outdoor space with all the fire pits, heaters, hot tub, etc. Will likely stay there for our next visit to the area.

I associate Best Western with budget motel with minimal amenities. The Humboldt Bay Inn far exceeded my vision and was a terrific spacious comfortable motel with lots of amenities. The facility is well cared for, good decoration, good attention to detail. The "spa" was fabulous - a large curvilinear pool with good jets, hot water and seating. The surrounding firepits take the chill off if cold outside. The "adults only" time was much appreciated. Great motel

Location was just outside of town. However, there is a limo that can take you to shops, restaurants etc. People were very nice and hospital. The 1st floor rooms were noisy and headlights of cars shown through the windows. The chairs in the room were quite dirty. Finishes of the room need to be updated, cleaned, and were not very impressive. I would try to find another hotel unless updates are done.

Our property does take up an entire city block with six buildings that have many room types to choose from which have mostly all been recently renovated within the last two years. It is also very exciting to know that we have added several new room types- our grand Oasis Suite, which is a 1200 sq ft suite, complete with a spacious living room, kitchen area, and a beautiful walk-in shower and bath. Another is our new 2-rooom Executive Suite, complete with a living room, wet bar, and a sexy steam shower/lighting. And don't forget about our Oasis Spa area, complete with fireplaces, tiki torches, and plush seating in a tropical, landscaped setting. The next time that you come to Eureka, please contact me and I will help ensure that your visit with us will be an enjoyable experience!

An overnight stop in Eureka brought us to this well rated hotel. Room well appointed and spacious with big comfy bed. The hotel pool area is lovely, and staff helpful. We sat by the firepit reading for an hour or so before getting a Limousine into towncomplimentary limo lift into town for supper since the hotel is a bit on the edge of things. Unfortunately the guest in the room above was an insomniac and woke us walking around during the night and the incessant road noise kept us awake from 5am. Breakfast ok. Suggest requesting a room away from road noise - our room was 204 and 202/3 even nearer.

My husband and I visited Eureka for two nights. I had left all the arrangements to him and crossed my fingers. :) He nailed it with this hotel! Perfect location within walking distance of downtown, marina, performing arts center, awesome coop, shopping, restaurants, coffee shops. A swanky complimentary limo ride to any restaurant in the evenings. An awesome heated pool and fun spa area with Tiki lamps, fire pit, Hawaiian music, palm trees... and all the grounds are immaculate with an almost resort-like feel to it, even though it's situated directly between the two busiest streets in town. Some very savvy designing went into this place, I'm impressed with how sheltered you feel from all the industry going on just steps away. We had a room in the Sequoia wing and it was very modern, quiet, super clean, with quality touches. The king bed was super comfy and I slept deeply both nights, the plantation shutters totally keep the light out when closed. Every inch of the place is very well kept and you can tell a lot of people are around keeping it tidy and running smoothly, without being too distracting or noticeable. Oh yeah, and the coffee was the best I've had for a hotel in this price range. :) Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone I know who goes to Eureka.

Easy to get to, close to downtown, and even had a free limo that dropped us off for our dinner reservations at the local brewery (Lost Coast - good IPA's). The staff were great and fast. They have a nice courtyard with a big odd shaped jacuzzi, pool table, fire pit, and tiki lamps. The grounds are well landscaped with interesting things to look at. It isn't the Ritz but for mid-priced hotel it was one of the best I've been to. The room doors are exterior but I felt safe there.

When visiting the area a few times per year, I regularly stay at the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn, and have enjoyed staying at this property over the years. The property is simply beautiful. The Oasis is a pool side area that is warm, relaxing, and inviting, akin to a tropical resort. The beds are quite comfortable, and I get a good, quiet sleep every time.The staff are always friendly and professional, and are always willing to help make the stay perfect. I normally stay in either a standard or deluxe room, but on my last stay, I tried one of the deluxe two-room suites that overlooks the Oasis, and it was phenomenal. The steam room, two fireplaces, very comfortable couch, made for a memorable stay. The property is also meticulously cared for, and housekeeping staff are friendly and hard working. Although I haven't tried it, I am intrigued with the dinner limo that is available on weekdays. The lobby is also inviting, with really friendly front desk staff and management. The breakfast available each morning has a wide variety of choices, and the location is central to my day jaunts both north and south whenever I do visit the area. I look forward to staying there in the future.

Several weeks before our trip, we requested and reserved a deluxe king room in the quietest location. At our arrival we were given room 291 (end unit). We checked the room and it was located on a outer wing next to a restaurant and adjacent to the highway 101 junction. VERY NOISY! We requested a different room and were told that all the deluxe king rooms are only in this wing; no choice? Hard to believe that upgraded rooms are in the worst location of the facility. We had to close the door and windows and live with it. Trash pickup at the restaurant for two mornings at 5:30am, and with truck noise and rumble from the highway, no sleep after that! Room is nicely appointed, clean, good breakfast and friendly staff was the only thing that saved our experience staying there.

We are happy that you felt our deluxe kings are "nicely appointed and clean" and that our breakfast was good and you felt our staff was friendly. We do apologize that room 291 was noisy for you as it is on the end as you pointed out. We were full the nights that you stayed and we had some stay overs for the deluxe room type that you reserved so that was all we had available. The trash pick-up was earlier than normal; we appreciate you reporting it and we have since been in contact with the trash removal company to have that fixed. The next time you are in Eureka, please call us direct and we will ensure that you are given a nice, upgraded room in a quiet location.

Very unique Inn. Extremely clean rooms. Large waterfall hot spa, another adjacent room with indoor pool, and open to that is your billiard room and breakfast area. All of this is in one large lovely gated area with many excellent seating area's around spa and fire pit. Outdoor furniture is of the highest quality and this Inn owns their own Limousine and from 5-10 p.m they will take you Free to any restaurant or Lounge and pick you up when done. We loved this place and spent 2 nights here Sept. 19 & 20. WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND.

Not what the pictures show online. Yes, they have a nice pool area but, it is in a derelict area of town. Police on every corner arresting people. Two main roads on each side of hotel so it is very noisy from the cars and trucks. Staff is nice, upgrades are nice, but not my cup of tea. Would not return here.

The Pool area makes you feel like you're in some tropical location. Our kids were in the pool from the time we got there till time for bed. We ordered dinner from the restaurant next door and were able to get delivery to the pool area. Had wonderful evening meeting other guests. The pool area is extremely conducive to socializing with the outdoor heaters and fire pits. Room was not ready when we got there (early) but we were allowed to use pool area which was great for the kids after a 4 hr drive. Room was very clean and beds very comfortable. Parking is a little tight and hard to find later at night. Breakfast is well presented with good selection. Enjoyed our stay very much!!!

Stayed here for one night. Receptionist seemed in a hurry our room wasn't ready so she offered us another, she didn't tell us anything thing about the services we had to ask. Motel style accommodation room was on ground level able to park the car outside. Comfy room with fridge, coffee maker. They offered a free limo to a restaurant which we did not use, not sure what the t&c's were. About 15 min walk to the old town area which was very quiet, probably as season drawing to a close, sea front area was disappointing looked as though they had run out of funds to finish the area off. We felt a bit intimidated walking back to the hotel some unscrupulous looking men around so found a supermarket just behind the hotel & got some salad bowls, bottle of wine & nibbles for our meal & had a movie night - great. Lovely pool area with jacuzzi. Breakfast was the best so far.

Stayed here for one night on our tour around the USA very easy checkin all friendly staff Very nice pool and sitting area with fire pits ,free breakfast basic but ok ,restaurant next door basic but ok good value.

I was very hesitant to try a Best Western. My husband and I are tried and true Marriott fans. But on this recent unplanned trip through Eureka, BW was our best option. When my call to the BW Bayshore went to a full voicemail box, I called Humboldt Bay. Kristen was an absolute pleasure to work with...she was so patient as my cell phone cut in and out. A few hours later when we arrived Kirsten had everything set and ready to go. As to the rooms (we booked 2), I could not have been more pleased. Clean! Great Amenities (frig, coffee, hairdryer, night light in bathroom, lots of plugs, reading lights on both sides of the bed, DVD player and more)! Very Comfortable! Strong WiFi! And Quiet!!!! Given its location, I thought for sure that noise would be a problem. I'm a very light sleeper...I heard nothing all night! No traffic, no neighbors...just quiet! The lobby had a coffee station set up. We didn't eat breakfast there, so I cannot comment on it. They have a limo service to take you downtown and pick you up (we didn't use it, but it's nice to know it's available). I must say, this BW has made me a fan! It's the kind of quality you expect to see in a 4 star hotel. If only all hotels could be like this!

I recently stayed 2 nights in this hotel. My updated room with a fireplace, steam shower and kitchen nook in the living room area was delightful. The service and amenities were that of an expensive Las Vegas hotel. Their breakfast area is clean and fully stocked with enough options for any ones diet. There was ample (free) parking. Such a treat to stay there.

This hotel by far is the best! The customer service is exceptional and I am for sure staying here again. The management was more than helpful and the limo service amazing!! Make sure you take a look at the spa and pool area too.

Booked this hotel on our way down the coast to visit the redwoods. This hotel is in an industrial section of Eureka and I was a little skeptical driving up to the hotel but, once in the lobby, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful reef tank in the lobby as well as a bowl of salt water taffy. The staff will assist you with dinner reservations and even drive you there in a stretch limo. How cool is that! The room was very comfortable and clean. The pool area is Hawaiian themed with tiki torches and heaters and is a wonderful place to hang out. Breakfast is served here as well and is the typical spread. The only negative thing I can say is that, depending on how the wind blows, you can get the fishy smell of the dock or the marajuana smell of the CBD plant nearby. The smell is outside only and not in the rooms. This hotel is by far the best in the area. Would definitely stay here again.

We were able to book online as we approached town. Quick and easy. The laundry facilities were a bonus. Beautiful, clean room. The pool was a nice size, and the hot tub was showcased at night with flames and gentle light as a relaxing place to end your day. We'd stay here again.

We stayed here with a group we were traveling with. We had stayed in several Best Westerns on this trip but this was by far the best. Clean, neat, and the front reception area was very cozy and inviting. The outdoor entertainment area was unbelievable with tropical touches that made it very inviting to a group that had been traveling all day. Flame torches, towels, a wonderful pool and gorgeous hot large hot tub. There was also a bar tender and music to give you th tropical feel. Lots of places to sit with couches and relaxing furniture. The rooms were neat and clean and no shortage of towels in the bathroom. The icing on the cake was a stretch limo that the owner provides free of charge to any guests who need a drive to dinner and so forth. The driver was wonderful and full of information. What a wonderful touch. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was truly an oasis to a weary traveler.

I would recommend this hotel to others. it was clean, staff were very nice and the location was centrally located to the main restaurants in the town. access to the hotel was right off highway 101. weather was good.

If you are looking for a standard motel for the night, then this place is OK. However the site is sandwiched between two very busy roads, and so the road noise is ever present. The hotel has a small pool and Jacuzzi, but not much else. The town itself is a disappointment. It is a long drive for not very much.

Thank you for your review. We do have many amenities including our new Oasis Spa area which includes an oversized, free form spa with waterfalls and special lighting and other water features. Relaxing around the 2 different fireplaces in our plush seating area surrounded by all the tropical plants and tiki torches have many guests loving the area. Our NEW complimentary dinner limousine is available for all our guests to enjoy...it will take and pick you up to any of the fine restaurants that Eureka has to offer. Historic Old Town, Marina, and Boardwalk are all just a short distance from the hotel. Our property does encompass an entire city block with many room types in quiet locations to choose from...if you ever come back to Eureka, please call me directly and I will ensure your next stay with us will be an enjoyable experience and also include some great site seeing recommendations.

Cleanest place you will find anywhere. The oasis is awesome, and was never crowded. Breakfast was excellant, make a waffle, yogurt, fresh fruit and juice. The fitness center has everything you need for a good workout, and a massage chair that was really quite good. People that work here are very friendly and seem to like their jobs, must be good owners. Take the limo downtown, great driver, will pick you up when you call.

Chose this motel at random but sure glad we did. Rooms were great, complex was quiet and the breakfast was top rate. We especially liked the extensive patio with two pools, beautiful landscaping and comfortable furniture.

Great place to stay for adults and families. The rooms were nice and updated and the rest of the common areas were updated and very well maintained. The grounds were landscaped and enjoyable to walk through. The attendant at breakfast was great at keeping everything stocked, cleaned and straightened. At times there was a crowd for breakfast and she keep things running smoothly. The location was convenient and made for good access to the places we needed to go in Eureka.

The hotel is very well maintained and our room was clean and comfortable. The best feature of the hotel is the pool/spa area, which had multiple seating areas and a fire pit. Breakfast, included with the room charge, is also served in that area. The staff was friendly and efficient.

This is our 'go to' site whenever we stay over in the Eureka area. The staff - all of the staff, regardless of their assigned hotel duties - are courteous, friendly, helpful, and clearly motivated to ensuring their guests have a pleasant stay. The breakfast offerings are good, with choices from the bakery, bagels, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, with ample supplies of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate; the pool/hot tub areas are clean and easy to acess; newspapers and coffee are available at all hours in the hotel lobby. Parking can be a challenge when the hotel is booked to capacity and guests arrive in late evening; we were late to the hotel every evening because of our commitments in Eureka each day, and there were times we had to use parking in the adjacent restaurant. But even with that inconvenience, we will not opt to stay elsewhere. In our opinion this is the place to stay in Eureka, and over the course of our many stays during the past several years we have never had a uncomfortable stay or a bad experience.

This was our 2nd stay and it was even better than the 1st time. Locacation, location. Though, with in walking distance take the car to the Bayshore Mall, Walmart (at the other end). Don't miss old town, GREAT seafood, unique shops, fabulous bookstore (new & used), just to highlight a few. Back to the hotel. Convenient location Hwy 101 the rooms sit back so there is no noise. They were almost sold out, we never heard a door slam, children running on the balcony, or people moving around. We were treated by a genuinely friendly staff (not because they were trained ) Good manners never go out of style. When we walked into our room, we both said "this is nice". Unfortunately we had a medical issue, the overnight man, Anthony, was extremely professional and compassionate, and accommodating. Very nice full buffet hot breakfast with all the basics, really ripe, fresh fruit, two types of yogurt, fresh fruit salad, waffles, B&G and a staff that brings water,and refills for your coffee. They even ask if it was ok, or can I get you something else. Stay here!! Join their rewards plan, points never expire. ENJOY your stay 1 day or a week. You will be glad ou did.

Great place to stay for an overnight stay. Clean, well organized and comfortable. Nice breakfast too!! Consider staying here if you are in the area. Best Westerns are an affordable and comfortable option!!

I nice location for downtown Eureka. A easy walk but they also offer limo service downtown. The room was quiet for the most part. Only issue we people caring on a conversation at 6am in the morning for some reason outside. Was a last minute reservation and at a okay price range for the summer.

As others mention, the location is set between two busy streets (actually highway 101). But the hotel is a very nice oasis, and we were not bothered by street noise. Outstanding customer service from Chris, as we were making a last-minute change from another (disappointing) property in Eureka. The BW Plus was clean, modern and well-appointed. The breakfast area, which looks a little "cheesy" in photos, is actually great fun in person. Would definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

We payed 330 a night and hotel is nice room was great and limousine but noise doesn't seem enforced in pool area at night with rooms above pool area it was really loud as well as highway traffic and rotten fish smells in area.

We've stayed at a lot of BW properties (across seven states), including four on this trip alone, so we know what to expect from a Best Western property. The Humboldt By Inn definitely puts the Plus on this property, despite, as others have noted, the less-than idyllic surroundings. At times during our stay, there was a definite fishy scent on the air along with marijuana. The room we had (upper floor of the Pacific Wing) was very nice inside--crown moulding, newer dark-stained furniture, and upgraded bathroom furnishings. The beds were well-appointed with newer bedding, and the room was spotless. The pool area was the nicest we've seen in a long time--the hot tub felt lagoon-like, and had cozy seating areas with heat lamps and fire pits. Breakfast was pretty standard for BW fare, all of the typical continental offerings including the signature Best Western waffle irons. The lobby was nicely appointed, and another nice touch was complimentary limousine service offered between the hotel and local restaurants. We used it to go to dinner one evening, and service was prompt and friendly. We tipped $10 on the return trip, and really appreciated the service. As a base from which to explore the Redwoods and other sights in the area, the BW Plus Humboldt Bay Inn is a great choice.

The first glance at this hotel is misleading. It is located on a busy corner surrounded with what looks like industry surrounding, but the surroundings belie the quality of this property. Once inside the parking lot, we saw that the property is very nicely furnished. The lobby and check in is a very pleasant experience. While I was taking care of the check in my family was entertained by a beautiful aquarium with bright colored fish, corals, anemones, and shrimp. The clerk was friendly and welcoming and dressed professionally. They also had a bowl of salt water taffy which I enjoyed. The room was a little cramped but the furniture was clean and modern. No signs of wear. I was concerned to be on the bottom floor, but was not at all disturbed by people walking above me. They must have some good insulation between the floors. My family stayed for three nights. Every day we went out for excursions and when we returned the room had been cleaned and straightened with a special touch. My daughter had brought three stuffed animals on the trip, and each day we returned to find the animals posed on the beds as if they were welcoming us back, or as if they had had fun in the room while we were away. It seemed like the cleaning staff had fun making up our room. The pool and kitchen area were very nice. I was there for a small family reunion and we were able to sit around the gas fire pit during the cool coastal night and visit without being uncomfortably cold. The spa has rocks and waterfalls that make it very appealing, and the pool has a stream of water pouring into it that the kids enjoyed playing around. The whole area was very isolated from the busy street outside so that one never even thought about being on a busy street. The breakfast bar was adequate. I prefer cooked oatmeal to packets but that was okay. Access was easy and never too crowded. Also there is a restaurant right next door that serves excellent food for breakfast lunch or dinner. They will even provide room service from their menu with no added charge! The only drawback to this hotel is the location. It is near enough to Eureka's interesting downtown area to walk, but far enough to prefer to drive. One has to walk through about four blocks of undeveloped area before reaching the more comfortable feeling downtown area. Overall, I recommend this hotel one hundred percent. Good people, good rooms, great experience.

My husband, son and I stayed here for one night on our coastal drive north to Portland from San Francisco. It was a sight for sore eyes after our worn, shabby room (at the Fort Bragg Best Western) the night before for a similar rate. The rooms were very clean, updated and well maintained as was the parking lot and property. The location was fairly central and you could get to local restaurants fairly quickly. The staff treated us courteously and were helpful in showing us where things were. The pool area was especially a treat for our son because it had a novel and welcoming Hawaiian theme around it. It doesn't ever get really hot in Eureka and so they have huge heaters around the pool patio, which is also where you can eat breakfast if it's too busy in the breakfast room. The lobby and exterior of the hotel were well-appointed also and there was plenty of parking. If you are doing the coastal drive you won't regret staying here, it's definitely one of the nicer establishments in terms of chain hotels on that route.

This Best Western Plus is a compliment to a trip to the Redwoods...you must stay here for a perfect, understated, classy experience. The look of the hotel from the street is right out of a scene from the TV series, "Murder She Wrote". The landscaping and maintenance throughout the parking areas and buildings is topnotch. Our room was spacious, comfortable, quiet and clean. The pool and outdoor area has plenty of seating and heaters near several fireplaces Breakfast was good... the neighborhood is fine.

We can't say enough nice things about this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and so clean. The staff are super friendly. This feels like a resort. The fire pit and outdoor heaters are a wonderful addition to making breakfast great.

We stayed here for one night whilst on a road trip down to SF ...we had no complaints lovely friendly lady on check in , nice clean room...no elevator so ask for a ground floor if you are lugging suitcases like we were... Dispite it being in the middle of the 101 you couldn't hear the traffic in the room. Five minute walk to the waterfront. Good free breakfast,although it perhaps could have been better laid out, the microwave ,toaster etc were all in the one corner that people needed so it did become a little crowded & they should possibly upgrade to a four slice toaster. But a good one night stay. The pool /oasis area was a lovely addition although we didn't actually use the facility.

This is really a tale of two reviews - one "inside" the property and one "outside". The hotel and staff were first rate - excellent, friendly customer service; outstanding Oasis area (pool, hot tub, heat lamps, breakfast, etc.); quiet, clean, comfortable rooms. We had a problem with our first room - the staff responded immediately and could not fix the problem quickly, so relocated us to a nicer room without any issue. Inside the property - outstanding - highly recommended! Now, for the "outside" review. The hotel is in a somewhat "industrial" part of Eureka - it's a working bayfront, so there are sights and sounds (and smells) that come along with that. It didn't feel at all unsafe, just a bit gritty (and definitely "aromatic" depending on the tides, fog, and wind). It is also bounded on two sides by the 101 - so some traffic at times. So, the overall "Very Good" rating is a combination of 5 stars (excellent) for the property itself and 2.5 stars (Poor/Average) for the surrounding area.

We did a 101 driving tour of the PNW and this was our southern turn around. My daughter had never seen the redwoods, so we wanted to do Avenue of the Giants. I booked this very last minute, so was only able to get a double/double, which is the smallest of the rooms. The remodel is pretty impressive. Even with the small space, the room was well done and the three of us could move around. The bathroom had a shower only, with the most incredible water pressure ever, and a high nozzle head, so nobody had to stoop. I would have preferred a fan in the bathroom, over the window, as we were ground floor and facing the street, so I was not willing to keep the window open, but minor detail. Plentiful towels and nice beds. Nice size frig and microwave. The décor was muted, but definitely miles above the couple other BW I have stayed at on this trip. You could immediately tell someone really put effort into making the rooms updated. To be very picky, they should have used someone else to hang the wallpaper, it wasn't properly done and has major bubbles, but that absolutely has no effect on my stay. The grounds have been lovingly planted and well cared for and are quite impressive. The parking lot was clean and the conversion of an old parking area into the spa and firepit and outdoor pergola and lounge area is very well done. There is also a nice pool table for use. There are heaters on at night and in the morning for breakfast, which was lovely to sit outside and not be chilly. My daughter loved the pool (which is deep) and it was lightly used by others, even though there were many children. I love that they have this communal area, since there is no patio/balcony/area to sit outside your room. We did hear foot steps every morning above us, but this is an older building and understandably, it is what it is. To that end, ask for a second story room. Also, if you are booking in advance, they have a great Executive suite and a family suite, that would be great for larger parties and travelling with teenagers, so everyone can have space. The breakfast room is cramped and has some lay out issues. Instead of eggs and meat and potatoes (like we had at other BW on this trip), they have Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches that have to be heated in a single microwave. I appreciate this cuts down on waste and staff needs and kitchen use, but the microwave and fridge is in the corner and just poorly placed. When a family of five each wants a sandwich, mom is standing there almost ten minutes trying to make them as fast as she can, but it really clogs the line. I think moving it to where the coffee is and adding a second microwave would really cut down on the bottleneck. There was also three cereals, two with raisins and one was supposed to be fruit loops, but it was always empty. They also had a hard time keeping yogurt (which shares the brekky sandwich frig) and fruit (never a banana to be found, except the peel in the trash) stocked. There was waffle makers, next to the microwave, which just makes the space headache worse. I didn't mind the different items and thought the variety was reasonable, just was surprised with so much thought into the décor and oasis area and landscaping, that there wasn't more thought into flow and keeping things stocked. The hotel was sold out or almost sold out during our stay and we always ate the last hour of service, so I realize this may have added to the issues, but they need to keep it stocked. They have a house car that will take you to/fro dinner or downtown (I believe from 5-10pm) , which I think is a nice touch. This trip was out of my usual choices of hotels and I was very pleased that we stayed here. I definitely think it is one of the nicest in the area.

The room was very clean, unfortunately the king room bathroom does not have the room for 2 people to get ready at the same time. We upgraded to a larger suite at double the price the second night. We very much enjoyed the steam shower and rain shower amenities.

We stayed here for one night on a road trip. The room was comfortable abd clean and had an iron which I made use of (after using the laundry) The pool and spa area were great - the soa pool was really warm and spacious. Perfect for unwinding and relaxing in. We slept really well and enjoyed the extensive continental breakfast. There was even a free limousine ride into town in the evenings but we used our car as we wanted to go to a specific restaurant.

This was our first stay at a BW property. We are typically a Marriott frequenter, but they don't have a single thing in the area. The room was average. The hotels bright spot was their pool/entertainment area. Largest spa area I have seen at a hotel. Lots of seating with heaters. Fire pit area. Billiards. The fitness area was also well appointed. My main complaint was that the back area they put us in smelled like poo. Every time we had to walk to/from the room it smelled disgusting.

Maybe I've never been in a Best Western Plus but this place was far beyond my expectations. It was comfortable, nicely decorated inside the room and the grounds of the inn. The breakfast area had a lot of options that we ended up grabbing and taking back to our room. We did not use the pool but it looked so nice. It's a place where people tend to stay as they are on their way to some place else but it's proximity to downtown and a car service to take you there if you didn't want to drive made it a great find. If we are nearby again, we will be back.

My wife and I spent 3 nights there so we could explore Eureka and the surrounding areas. We enjoyed the breakfast because they offered waffles, hot breakfast sandwiches. The 'cabana' area was relaxing because they had comfortable chairs and outdoor heaters. The room was clean and comfortable.

Stay here even if you have no where to go. This hotel is the cleanest,most awesome hotel I have stayed at and that includes higher end hotels. The pool area is amazing and like nothing I have seen in a smaller brand hotel. The pictures do not do it justice....has to be seen or experienced to be believed. Room was absolutely the cleanest I have stayed in. Breakfast was the best I've had as well in a small brand hotel. I was disappointed we were only staying 1 night. Only issue is the city this hotel is in is kinda a dump city and the area it's in you'd never suspect such a beautifully kept oasis is there. Can't recommend this hotel if in the area enough

In the middle of the property is an amazing hot tub, set among rocks, waterfalls, fireplaces and seating. Such a surprise to experience this relaxing Oasis. Pictures online don't do it justice. Excellent restaurant on property, separately owned.

Best place to stay for a Redwoods vacation! I've usually opted for Hilton over Best Western, but this property is a wonderful exception! The hot tub/oasis area is outstanding - great decor, lighting, and ambience. It felt like I was returning to a tropical paradise each night. The hot tub area was large and the fire, heaters, and billiard table were perfect. It's so much better than waiting to crowd into a tiny circular hot tub with ten other people. It's open until 11, so you can be out adventuring until late and still enjoy paradise at the end of the night. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and had nice extras like a heater in the bathroom (works great to quickly dry swim wear). It was fun to go for a limo ride over the standard van. Breakfast was really nice - it didn't have the hot eggs in chafing dishes, but it did have Greek yogurt, oatmeal, waffles, and egg mcmuffins to microwave. Lots of variety and good options for higher protein needs. The owners are detail oriented and really care about the property and it definitely shows! We did request a room that was not facing the road due to other reviews and didn't hear any road noise. We also enjoyed the selection of restaurants and cafes in old town Eureka as well as the cheese factory. It's a good central location in the Redwoods that actually has dining options.

Rooms are pleasant and quiet considering the location of the hotel. Great breakfast, but the best is the outdoor space, great for kids are hanging out to read, work, happy hour bring your own)! There is a heated pool, jacuzzi, lots of comfortable seating with heaters and a gas fire pit.

My 14 year old said, “Dad, it's like somebody said ‘let's not just make our hotel nice and clean and friendly, but let's see what we can do to make it awesome!' 20 years in food service and I agree! Drive onto the lot at this Best Western in Eureka and you immediately know this is a property that someone cares about. After inquiring, turns out a couple of fellows own the place and have a team hired that helps them deliver an experience that I might expect to find at a Gold Crown Resort or 4-5 star (read, much more expensive) hotel. And the owners evidently lead the team in serving up excellence. Read the book “Raving Fans”...that's what is going on here in my experience. Beyond good, to great! Thouroughly enjoyed our entire stay! And the Oasis area (used to be a parking lot!) is so very well designed with a spa /waterfall, pool...my kids loved the ball goal, and seating areas tucked around the fire pit and into corners with propane heaters and on each side of the fireplace. Really nice atmosphere. Even the guys doing maintanence and clean up were nice and friendly, seemed to enjoy their job, even if it was scrubbin* the grout cracks in the breakfast area. Ok, can you tell I was thouroughly impressed? And I have 20 years experience in food service, so I am NOT easily impressed. This team runs this motel the way I liked to run my restaurants, giving more than the customer expects to get, every time. May they have continued success and if you choose to stay here...hope you have a great time! PS. Waffles are better with chocolate chips melted on top. ??

A fantastic respite after a long drive, adventuring north from SF. The hotel is very welcoming and convenient. Room was very nice, bathroom was roomy with a great shower. Everything was clean and inviting.

This hotel is very clean, the rooms are nice, and the bathrooms are beautiful. Most importantly the bed was extremely comfortable. We had one of the best nights sleep which we needed after a long drive. The pool and spa area really felt like a small, beautiful "oasis" where we spent the evening at the fire pit with some wine. Paige was extremely friendly and helpful as she provided us with some local knowledge on places to stop on our road trip. Her warm personality and great sense of humor made us feel extremely welcome. We would definitely stay here again.

My son came in from the pool and said, “Mom, you should rate this place a 7!” The rooms were a nice size, newly redone, and super clean. But the best part was the pool area. There's a huge hot tub with a waterfall and a heated pool. There's also a fire pit and several tables with heaters nearby because it's breezy here at night. Highly recommend staying here if you're in Eureka!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this motel. They offered everyone free limo rides during the supper hour and that was a real treat! The staff were wonderful, as was the lady limo driver. The room was clean, beds comfy, I'd definitely stay again.

Very good stay here - swimming-pool/jacuzzi/pool-table area is maintained very well. Hotel room was clean. Lobby was clean - had a beautiful mid-size aquarium with colorful fish. Breakfast buffett was decent - they had waffles, good coffee, eggs, different sandwiches, fruits, cereal options...

Stayed here for 1 night on 4th July, checkin was quick, room was large, well maintained and clean. The pool/spa are is what made the hotel - spa was really hot and felt like it was a mini resort. Breakfast had a great choice available. Would recommend this hotel to anyone if staying in Eureka

This hotel is like an oasis with a gorgeous hot tub pool area that is perfect temperature, fun activities (pool table and games) and the family suite was incredible. 2 separate rooms, great sound proofing, modern and beautiful decor, perfect for a family of 5-6 with space. They also serve food and drinks in the pool area- we could have spent days here and it was our kids favorite hotel out of 5 stayed in so far!! If you are stopping in eureka this is the only place you should look.

Property is nice but we will never stay here again nor should anyone else. We bought dinner and had leftovers and put them in the fridge. Woke the next morning and everything was warm not cold or even remotely cold. There was over $70 in food and they came to fix the fridge and given $30 credit. We had way more than that in left food for leftover lunch. Manager refused to give more than $30. We will never stay at another Best Western plus let alone at Humbolt inn. We were told the manager would speak to us but Stacy couldnt even talk to us! This place again looks nice and the maintainence people are great. But even now in the room the fridge is not cold. So stay at your own risk!!!

I usually stay here when visiting Eureka, but was fully booked this time so I stayed at Carter House Inns. The staff there(Heidi) treated me disrespectfully. Room was very small and walls between rooms paper thin. Advertised as a historic Inn but not worth the price. Best Western so much superior to Carter House Inns. When I later called Carter House Inn to speak to manager Heide said “I don't know what your problem is” and manager did not call me. Staff at Best Western are friendly and respectful!!

Kinda of expensive for Euerak, rooms were clean, but not fancy. Front desk service was great. The pool was wonderful. Large spa, and heated pool. Fire pits and fire place, outdoor heaters, pool table. Breakfast was so so. Waffles, fruit, boilded eggs, jucie, and coffee. Breakfast sandwiches and ceral

We really liked this property, it's convenient location made it great for us. The hotel is well kept, however, our toilet didn't work, and when I ran to use the one in the pool house, it was also clogged. They were working on fixing that, they did fix the one in our room very quickly. We were disappointed that there was no exercise facility on site, it was suggested we hike or run, but for my family that wasn't a real solution. We enjoyed the property--late check out is noon, be aware. Overall good experience, nice breakfast, good people.

Thank you for the nice review, but I'm not sure if you are reviewing the right property as our hotel DOES have an exercise facility, complete with a treadmill, elliptical machine, stationary bike, dumbbell weights, and a universal machine that has many stations to do different exercises. Also, the facility has a brand new massage chair that we have been receiving many compliments. We apologize that you didn't see this or no one mentioned it to you as it is next to the breakfast and Oasis area. We hope to see you again so that you can bet a great workout in on your next visit.

My husband and I got one of their new king suites which included and amazing rain shower, steam room, electric fireplace, and just all around comfort! The staff was wonderful, and we loved the jacuzzi, pool, and billiard table. Loved this place!

There are 8 of us traveling from Texas ages 51, 49, 40, 39, 21, 18, 18 & 16. I'd like to say up front I'm giving 4 instead of 3 because of the outdoor pool/fire pit area. We can hear the traffic from the main road in our room. There's high population of homeless nearby. We chose this location for the hot tub, fire pit/outdoor fireplace & we don't regret it. Check in: Fast & easy Room: Typical of BW, clean, 2 Queen beds, desk, tv, RR, small fridge & small closet. Laundry room for washing clothes is greatly appreciated! Pool area: We have a 21 yr old & teens, the pool area is important & the reason we stayed. It did not disappoint. The size of the hot tub, outdoor fireplace & fire pit were awesome. We went in twice a day! In the evening we enjoyed the fire pit after the swim. Breakfast: Lots of options, but only hard boiled eggs. What you would expect of BW continental breakfast. Everyone working here is extremely helpful & super friendly!!

The hotel was decent but it was advertised as a luxury hotel and it was not that. The limo service is a scam, they only have a very limited range, and the facilities were not as advertised. It was a nice hotel but not as nice as it was advertised to be. The surrounding neighborhood was quite substandard. There was no view of the bay however there was a strong stench of rotten fish throughout the premise.

Thank you for your review. Our brand new, complimentary dinner limousine is available Monday thru Saturday from 5:30pm to 10:30pm and it stays in the Eureka city limits which covers all restaurants in our town. We also have our NEW Oasis Spa area complete with a free form spa with waterfalls, seating areas with fireplaces, tiki torches, and much more. Eureka is surrounded by Humboldt Bay, and yes, there are times that you do smell the bay/sea if the wind is blowing our direction and it is low tide. We do hope that you will visit us again in your future travels.

We stayed on HSU's graduation weekend. Price gouging abounds on that weekend. This hotel would not accept any less than a two-night stay even though family members from the Bay Area were only going to stay one night. This is a horrible hotel policy and should be abandoned in the future. I booked family members at the Eureka Inn which they loved and I would highly recommend.

Most hotels in our area require a 2 night minimum and our rates were less than the average of our competitive set of 6 other like hotels in the Eureka area...we do agree, the rates are high for that weekend and we do apologize for that. We hope that when traveling through our area again, you will consider staying with us and again, thank you for your feedback.

The hotel itself is nice, they have great private fitness and pool area with heaters. The free breakfast was great, simple but has a lot of options. The room was standard for best western. The area around it is pretty rough, but it's Eureka.

Thank you for your nice review of our property. Eureka is a beautiful city surrounded by Humboldt Bay and Historic Old Town with many eateries and great shopping. Like any town, in today's world, it also has its challenges with homelessness. Our City is working hard to deal with it and making it an enjoyable place to visit. Our Inn is very strict about not letting anyone on the property that is not a registered guest and we take pride in our beautiful grounds and all our extra amenities that we have to offer, such as our NEW Oasis Spa Area and our NEW complimentary dinner limousine! (check out our pictures on-line). We hope to see you on your next visit to our area.

I can see why people praise this Best Western: it's very clean, well-priced, and convenient. Our room was not large but quite adequate with two excellent features: a window in the bathroom (it opens as does the one in the bedroom) and a light in the closet. The bed was comfortable and the carpet was exceptionally clean and soft underfoot. The downsides were the noise from 101 which runs north and south on either side of the hotel and the below average breakfast. We slept very well despite the traffic noise. The breakfast is served beside the delightful Hawaiian-style pool and hot tub lagoon with Hawaiian music playing, but the offerings were unappealing unless you like lots of carbs and sweets. No cooked eggs except cold boiled eggs and no oatmeal except instant. The coffee at the breakfast and in the room were both very poor, low quality coffee. The exterior arrangement of the parking and the rooms is cramped and easily confusing due to several wings and the presence of a lot of traffic on either side. Even so, the room rate was very reasonable and there was no smoking and no noise from other rooms. I think it's well managed.

Super impressed with this Best Western facility!! The pool area makes you feel like you are in a tropical destination, the only thing that would have made it better would have been to have some luau music playing while we were soaking in the hot tub. Great quality and appearance!! Would come back again in the future!

A very comfortable king size bed in a room with two comfy chairs and a table, with a full fridge, microwave and coffee machine. There were plenty of power points and the air conditioning worked well. The shower had plenty of power and the overall experience was a good one. The hotel had a lovely oasis area around the pool with comfy seating and patio heaters. Unfortunately, we didn't realise it was there until we went for the continental inclusive breakfast the following morning - it would be a lovely area to sit and relax in the evening. I personally am not a lover of breakfast, but I did have a very tasty apple glazed bun. There was cereal, pastries, hard booked eggs, yogurt and some savory breakfast rolls that could be microwaved. There was also a waffle maker. My husband was happy with the choice and quality of food on offer.

The hotel is situated in between the vehicle one-way system in Eureka and is the old style two-storey motel configuration where you park directly outside your room. No elevator, so yo have to lug cases up stairs if you're on the 2nd floor. The location isn't picturesque, but is handy for the Old Town district around half a mile away. The bed was ok but the pillows were hard and the carpet badly stained (in need of a proper shampoo as opposed to a vacuum over) Breakfast Room was tiny and guests were waiting for a table, plus there are microwaved egg/sausage muffins instead of the usual hot display. Aaron on the desk was lovely, but overall, we would go elswhere next time.

We had a very nice welcome at the hotel. It is a nice, clean hotel, with a great pool and breakfast area. The area is pretty commercial but they offer a free limousine ride to any restaurant in the area.

Very clean and inviting room, excellent customer service including free limo rides until 10pm, king-sized bed soooo comfy and wonderful that we stayed an extra night!! Great location and excellent pool and hottub area! It was its own resort! We loved it!

Had two nights en route to the Willamette Valley. Comfortable room. The property seemed very well managed. Lots of staff very busy cleaning and maintaining. Everything worked and looked tidy and under control. Breakfast very functional. Lots of choice from buffet. Area kept very clean and tidy whilst guests help themselves. Pool area also very clean and tidy. Good location to stroll to old downtown. Even has a huge limousine to drive those who don't want to take the 10 minute walk.

The property was beautiful, there was a nice big fridge with a freezer and a microwave in the room, and the location was great, but the walls were paper thin. You could hear people walking in their rooms above you, others running water (either flushing the toilet or taking a shower), you could hear conversations outside the room. The room was not ready when I checked in after 4PM - that would have been ok except that 2 hours before check-out the next morning, housekeeping was knocking on my door to see if I had left yet (I wanted to say, why didn't you do that yesterday). About an hour before checkout I started carrying bags out and again she asked if I was checking out. I explained I had more bags to put in the car and wasn't ready yet. The breakfast offering was the worst. All sugary items. Nothing hot, unless you pull something from the mini-fridge to microwave or fix waffles (sugary). Correcting these things would rate a higher recommendation.

Sorry that we do not have a full kitchen in our breakfast area...however, our breakfast includes many items to choose from: two types of hot Jimmy Dean egg/meat Sandwiches, hot waffle makers, 7 flavors of oatmeal, 3 types of gluten-free Chobani yogurt, 3 types of Yoplait yogurt, granola and other cereals, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit-apples, bananas, oranges, fresh-delivered daily from a local bakery danish, 3 types of muffins, apple fritters, buttermilk bars, coffee/teas and much more. We do not have hot scrambled eggs and sausage, but there is a full service restaurant on the premise for those guests that are looking for full-cook-to-order breakfast. The next time you are in Eureka, please contact me and I will be more than happy to treat you to a cook-to-order breakfast at the restaurant. I just returned from a 20 day tour across the northwest. We stayed in many hotels/motels along the way. This was by far my favorite. The rooms were clean and beautiful.I loved how the surrounding area of the hotel was landscaped. And the area known as the Oasis was beautiful,I could have taken a vacation right there. The staff was so friendly. You felt as if you were the most important guest they had. They even had a red carpet for us tired and weary travelers to place our feet upon. I would highly recommend this Best Western, you will not be disappointed.

EUREKA ............................the surrounding area was fairly sketchy! Guess we missed the free limo service concept - surely would have taken advantage. Having said that, the front desk was personable and professional (and that being said with observing the young lady having to deal with folks that were not easily communicated with - she did great!). Room was large and, although we were initially concerned about bed comfort when we saw how soft the mattresses were, we actually had a great night sleep - even the pillows were decent. Because we were in an ADA room we had a massive bathroom but the additional room we rented the bathroom was quite small hardly allowing for elbows out to the side. Breakfast was not warm or anything special but it was adequate and we enjoyed being able to sit outside and enjoy the morning air. We did not take the time to enjoy the pool or other amenities offered but it certainly seemed like a place you could stay and vacation for a few days. The massage chair was a keeper - trying to figure out where I can fit one in my house. Really a pleasure after a number of long car travel days. Property was clean and, although we wouldn't probably venture outside the hotel again, as we did for food, we would consider staying here again.

We were in town for a marathon event at the Avenue of the Redwoods. Many places were already booked so I was happy this place had a room available, and we were able to book for one night. Once we arrived, the front desk employee was incredibly nice. We had been driving all day, we were pretty tired, and this woman really made us feel welcome. Check in was a breeze, check out was a breeze (even at 6:45 am), and the room was fine. Breakfast was included but we didn't eat, just had coffee. They even offered us a complimentary limo service to drive us around Eureka, available until 10pm. Only complaint is thin walls, we heard our neighbors upstairs walking around.

My husband, two young children and I needed an unplanned night stay for the evening as my husband just had surgery which was not intended to take as long as it did. Since my husband was in a lot of pain and we did not get out of the hospital until 930 at night, the hospital recommended we stay the night at one of the many hotels St. Joseph's hospitals have contracted fees for patients who have been seen and need a unplanned nights stay. The Nurses recommended the Humboldt bay Inn out of all the hotels in the area so that is where we decided to stay. When I arrived to give them the list the hospital gave me to give to the hotel they were very not willing to accommodate us even after I explained our situation and the hospital recommended them and that we not travel home as my husband needed to just lie down and rest. The night manager said she had never seen such rates even though I should her the official paperwork from the hospital she charged us regular rates with only 10% discount and said to talk to the day staff in the morning to see if they could accommodate as she is unable to. So in the morning I spoke with the day staff and same excuse and directed me to talk to another person who would be in later that day. I called later that day day and the same gentleman told me that lady would not be in today to assist me!! We also encountered drug addicts as we were leaving. As I was getting into my care with my 11 month old this man approached me and was following me around my car and trying to have a conversation with me and touch my baby!! My husband was furious as he could not protect me as he JUST had SURGERY!!!!!!!!

The card was at least 6-7 years old and we have not offered that low of a rate for many years. The card also states that rates are subject to change and not available at all times. Our staff was sympathetic and apologized to you that we could not give that rate as it was outdated and that we have not offered that rate in many years, We appreciate you bringing it to our attention as we have since contacted the hospital and gave them updated rates for our hotel. The hotel is very clean and located in an easy to rich part of town. It has friendly staff with excellent service, including extra services such as free limousine ride to restaurants in town. The adjacent Kristina's restaurant has very good food and service.

We were originally going to stay at this hotel for two nights but liked it so well we stayed an additional night. The clerks were very nice and accommodating to our needs. The hotel had a nice swimming pool and hot tub area surrounded by large boulders. The rooms were clean/spacious and updated. My only complaint is the morning breakfast did not have any hot foods. I would stay here again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by its best feature: a wonderful pool and recreation area! This pool area is really great, it has: 1) A GIANT hot tub with a water fall and other water features 2) A large pool that is partially covered 3) A fire pit 4) A pool table that is in great shape (balls are a little worn looking) 5) Numerous comfortable seating areas At night, they light tiki torches. They play wonderful relaxing tropical music both day and night. Another high mark is the number of dedicated people working here. I saw constant people cleaning the pool area. The rooms themselves are nicely done and very clean (saw one woman cleaning the windowsill with a toothbrush - that's attention to detail!). The only real negative was that the rooms are motel-style, meaning the doors face the outside rather than a hallway. Even with that, I thought they were fairly quiet and I got a good night's sleep. Hotel also offers a free limo to downtown. Great place to stay when visiting Eureka!

Everything about this hotel is amazing. The lobby has a huge fish tank that fascinated me for quite some time. The staff from the Housekeepers, Desk People, Limo Driver (yes there is a limo service to take you to dinner and pick you up, so cool), and Support Staff and friendly and competent. The Oasis has and amazing Jacuzzi with a heated waterfall, heated pool, fire pit and tiki torches and warming stands. Oh and a pool table. I am a local and come here for a weekend every couple of months just because it is so wonderful, I don't need to travel anywhere else.

They have really paid attention to detail at this property. The room we had was spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. Although we didn't get a chance to use it, the pool and spa area were very nice and looked like a mini-resort! The location is convenient to downtown. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Irish pub Gallagher's. They offer a continental breakfast but here's a tip. If you're headed north, drive up to Crescent City and have breakfast at the Good Harvest - outstanding. We left 3 items (I know, pretty dumb) in the room but I called when I got home to Portland and they cheerfully said they would send the items back to us (only charging for the postage) which they did immediately. We were very happy with their service and would recommend this nice motel.

We just ended a four-night and five-day stay at the Best Western Humboldt Bay Inn in Eureka while attending the annual Redwood Coast Music Festival. As usual, the festival was superb and our stay at the Inn was just perfect. This is our favorite lodging site in Eureka and has been for many years. Although the hotel is not new, it has been recently renovated. The rooms are clean, spacious, well appointed, and remarkably quiet for its location. The complimentary breakfast at the breakfast bar should easily satisfy most guests, as should the pool, the fire pit, and the hot tub. As important as all of these, however, is the genuine hospitality of the staff – from housekeeping, to those at the front desk, to the manager and owners, these folks truly do care that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. For us and for those who came with us to the festival, it is just as important that this hotel is one of the lodging sponsors for the Music Festival. For that, especially, they have our thanks and will have our continued business.

We didn't expect much from this hotel, being a chain hotel and at a mid level price. We were blown away upon arrival. The lobby was beautiful, the staff was friendly, the room was perfect. The hot tub and pool area is by far the best I've ever been to! Not only is the hot tub gorgeous at night, there are heat lamps everywhere, cabanas with fireplaces and fire pits.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was good and filling. The pool area was great for kids even in the cold as they had heat lamps throughout the area. Also had a big hot tub with cool water features. Would stay there again!

Our stay at the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn was very enjoyable thanks to the friendly and helpful staff, the beautiful Oasis Pool Area, the clean and nicely decorated rooms, and the central location to downtown. We will definitely be back!

We stayed and enjoyed the huge spa area and the staff that checked us in was very helpful and made sure we were happy with our stay!Thank you for making Easter relaxing. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family. The breakfast was ok but there are lots of good places to go for breakfast near by.

Stay here! Worth the extra money if you have time to enjoy the pool area. Beds were 5-Star, clean clean clean! We stayed in 306 and were able to park right outside our door to unload. It was SO quiet!! Highly recommend. The only drawback was, the restaurant was extremely limited for choices if you wanted something gluten free or vegetarian. We made PBJ. for dinner and made due.

Besides the restaurant located on the premises (operated by a separate owner), we have our complimentary, brand-new stretch limousine that can take you to any of the fine eateries here in Eureka and then pick you up when finished with dinner...complimentary. I was thrilled to find this property on Trip Advisor. After reading the reviews from everyone I felt confident that this would be a fun experience for us. My daughters and I were on our way to SFO for the weekend and I had really wished I could take them to Hawaii but it wasn't in the cards for us this time. Staying here, taking the limo out the Banana Hut for dinner (highly recommended Hawaiian fare) and then coming back to enjoy the Oasis Spa made it kind of a like a mini Hawaiian vacation. (even though the weather outside was freezing!) The room was very comfortable and clean and as others have said the noise from the highway was unheard by myself and I am a really light sleeper. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone who would like a fun kind of Best Western experience.

The downside of the property is its location, which is in a warehouse district bordered by two sides of 101. Although you can walk to the Old Town, which isn't much, it's not a pleasant walk. There doesn't seem to be much in Eureka, and that's not the hotel's fault. The upside is that the landscaping and courtyard (named Oasis) work to create a nice place that seems apart from its surroundings. I was afraid that we'd hear cars at night, but they don't seem to get going until 7am or so, and even the kids who slept later didn't hear them, so that was no problem. The breakfast is only OK, with little protein in a crowded place with limited indoor seating. The courtyard itself is cute, and there are heaters for outdoor tables.

This felt like a much higher end stay than an average BW. The pool, spa, breakfast offerings were outstanding. The rooms were great and front desk staff very nice and helpful. Limo ride to dinner was a great unexpected perk

Me and my mom and our dog stayed at this hotel in November and loved it. Clean room, nice view, gorgeous property. Right in town and next to a beach. We called the main desk to find a place that we could eat w/ our dog, while they couldn't direct us to many dog-friendly places they did suggest the restaurant right behind the hotel. We ordered there and took it back to our room. Wonderful choice and glad for the decision. They even cooked a plain chicken breast for our dog who has trouble eating his dinner away from home. Awesome Place!

California. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. I would like to thank both Stacy and Kirsten for their Hospitality that my Co-Worker and I receive every time that we are in the area. Our job takes us through Northern California and we are on the road four days a week so we've stayed in numerous Hotels. This one is the very best, Best Western Hotel, and the Best hotel within 150 miles around Humboldt Bay. I have stayed at this Hotel numerous times, and I have also taken my family there when we visit the Redwood drive through trees, Trees of Mystery, Avenue of the Giants and many other Beautiful sites. Where else can you get a limousine ride for Tips only? A heated outdoor pool with Jets and water falls? Another outdoor pool for family play or laps? An outdoor Pool table? An outdoor wet bar? Gym? Complimentary breakfast with fresh coffe The Humboldt Bay Inn that's located in Eureka California is the best Best Western in Northern e, Apple fritters, fresh fruit and more. I haven't found one, At least not in Northern California, and for sure not for the price that they ask for. I rate them at a 10. Very clean Exterior/Grounds, and a very clean and comfortable room. This location is consistently very clean and safe. It has been a pleasure staying here for business and the continental breakfast offers a great value and time saver for me in the mornings while traveling for business. In fact coming to this Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn has changed my perception of best western and now I consider them when I am traveling in other regions as well as for my own personal use. I reccomemend staying here for a clean and safe dependable lodging.

We stayed here to see the redwood trees. The room is huge with a king bed and a sofa! And a big screen TV, frig and microwave. They have a pretty good breakfast including breakfast sandwiches that taste good for microwaveable meals. There's an oasis area that looks like it could be fun. They have a clean well functioning laundromat. Finally the location is walking distance to many nice restaurants. The only problem is the parking lot is alittle hard to maneuver in as the spaces are small for large trucks or vans.

We even have a park here in Eureka with a breath-taking stand of a mixture of Old Growth Redwoods and other tall trees located at Sequoia Park and Zoo - Eureka! You have found us!

Everything was how it should be and the pool and hot tub was above and beyond what I expected. Did I mention the pool is heated! Pleasant surprise. You could walk to old town if you wanted. The place to stay!

We were just looking for a weekend, relaxing place to get away. We were more than pleasantly surprised with this hotel's Spa/Pool/Patio area. They have a huge area, much of it covered, with private sitting areas included with fireplaces and fire pits, Tiki Torches, and outdoor heaters for comfort, along with a pool table! The swimming pool was nicely heated and the spa was the largest and nicest I've been in. It is curved with waterfalls and semi-private seating. Very nicely done!

By far the best Best Western we've ever stated at. When we travel we try to stay at Best Western hotels to earn points for free nights. Rooms were spacious and clean and the Oasis area is by far the nicest pool and spa of any Best Western. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to eureka. We were just passing through Eureka for a night and were happy with our stay at this hotel. The staff was courteous and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a cool-looking pool area that we didn't use but seemed very popular with the other guests. I would stay here again if in Eureka.

This place is a refurbished 60's hotel that is some ways looks very tired but clean. The parking is T-I-G-H-T! And it doesn't have to be. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is free. There is a coffee maker in the room. Hot tub and outdoor pool are open until 11. For the town, I thought this was a little over priced.

Awesome place to stay, great! We keep coming back because of the whole experience here. Great rooms, clean and comfortable, great pool and spa area, it's absolutely gorgeous. Resturant right next store.

Among all your low rent, down in the mouth-ish choices, this place is a haven. Really, truly wonderful staff, friendly and helpful. And what everyone else said about the pool and spa, so so amazing. Just stay here, you will NOT regret it.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights for the Christmas holiday. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had stayed here before and were familiar with the indoor pool and the breakfast that was included. We will definitely stay here again.

What I expected. Good for the location. Somewhat dated hotel/rooms but the beds were very good. I appreciated the refrigerator with a freezer compartment. Better coffee in the room would be nice. Good place for families with children (pool and hot tub were clearly enticing to kids). Breakfast was okay; good for this type of offering. Great service and very friendly staff. Room was not as quiet as hoped (could hear tv from nearby room until 2 am).

This Best Western plus was everything I expected it to be and more. The breakfast in the morning consists of fresh apple fritters, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich's, and other tasty options to chose from. The people working the hotel are friendly and customer service is clearly in the forefront of their mind. The best part of this experience has to be a laid back hang out spot called, "the Oasis". There is a pool table, fire pit, hot tub, tiki torches and music. If "hang loose" is the vibe they are going for then they definitely nailed it. Great place to stay and I will be staying there again.

Bad remodel job, rooms are still very dirty & stinky! Staff has a dismissive and complacent attitude, maybe they only make minimum wage? Not enough to care about Customer Service, or have they not received the proper Hospitality Industry training??

I stayed there one night on my way through town. I expected a working TV in the room. There was one. I expected coffee in the room. It was there. I expected a hot shower when I wanted it. I had that. I wanted hot, edible food to be nearby. It was. I did not want unwanted insects or small mammals in the room. There were none that bothered me. I did not want my vehicle broken into or tampered with. It wasn't. The things I wanted I got. The things I did not want I did not get, so that was good. I'll stay there again sometime. I'll keep at that till the ratio of things I want to things I don't changes.

We always stay here when traveling through Eureka. This hotel has a very nice pool and spa area, and the staff is welcoming. There is a good breakfast, comfortable bed, clean and large room. Highly recommend this hotel!

We have always enjoyed Best Western locations but this one was certainly among the best in class. Even my wife thought it was clean enough. The staff was very friendly and professional. On future trips to Northern California, we would schedule ourselves so that we could enjoy another night at the excellent hotel.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Though the location is not absolutely perfect it was conveniently located on Highway 1 and surprisingly quiet, all things considered. We had a corner room on the second floor which was spacious and fairly recently updated. They have a lovely lobby and excellent pool and recreation area. I would have given this Best Western a five star review but did not because the bathroom floor was icy cold, there was a nightlight switch (would have been very nice to have) but it did not work and the breakfast left a lot to be desired. Considering the cost of the room I would have expected more non-carb foods and less sugar based offerings. Overall a very restful, pleasant stay. Would stay again.

We didn't visit the oasis area until breakfast the morning we were checking out. It's incredible! Waterfall into a heated spa, fire pits, heat lamps and even a billiard table. Wow! Next time we visit Eureka we may not even leave the hotel. Also impressed that there is a complimentary limo in the evenings.

The new addition to the hotel the oasis is a great place to relax enjoy the Jacuzzi and the heat lamps at this time of the year I would recommend anybody traveling to Eureka best western hotel to stay there

This Best Western is one of the best I've ever stayed at. The hotel was decorated perfectly for Christmas. They have an amazing saltwater aquarium in the lobby. The rooms were nice, modern, and clean. The pool and spa looked amazing! Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to enjoy them. I saw the maintenance staff on multiple occasions busy cleaning and making the sure the property was well maintained. You could really tell the staff and owners take pride in their work. I'd definitely stay here again!

Loved this place! Amazing recreation area with pool, Jacuzzi, fire pits, and a pool tables. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff are great people. The hotel offers a complimentary limo to get you to and from the many restaurants and shopping areas. The driver was helpful, professional, and very friendly. This is a must visit place, if you are in Eureka, CA!!!

When I was only a prospective student at HSU, touring the campus for the first time, I did some research to find a nice place to stay. I first saw the pictures of the rooms and spa and I was sold. I had no idea I was going to be greeted by the best, friendliest staff and experience such clean rooms and plenty of amenities. It feels like staying in a slice of paradise litetallly right off the main freeway. WiFi was very strong, pool/spa were kept up greatly and everything worked, which can be quite a surprise when staying in hotels. Now that I'm Moving to the area, I will always have my visiting friends and family stay here.

Both nights before dinner we relaxed in the hot tub spa that's like a small swimming pool with jets, a cascading waterfall over real rocks, and spouts of water arcing into the pool with pulses of colored light! The 2 gas fireplaces, one round open pit style ringed with cushioned sitting, the other one like a 3 sided fireplace, were great to warm up around while drying off from the spa! Rooms were nice and clean and the grounds were very tastefully landscaped!!

Although the location in town wasn't the best (appeared to be some warehouses and empty buildings close by, though I didn't get a good look), this was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at! The room itself was super clean, modern, and comfortable. The pool and garden areas were phenomenal, especially if traveling with friends or family. The breakfast was also great!

The Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn is like a resort . . . their rooms are clean AND the pools & spa are SPECTACULAR . . . But, the most impressive memory (besides the value of our stay) was the fact that the hotel staff was super friendly and very helpful during our visit there - each and every one of them treated us like VIPs . . . If we're ever up anywhere near Eureka again, we'll definitely stay there again!

OMG THIS HOTEL WAS INCREDIBLE! The front desk girls and the limo lady were incredibly nice and sweet and welcoming! The room was beautiful and clean! We drove by and stopped to rest on a long road trip and was amazed at what a beautiful hotel this was ! From the rooms to the pool area and the front desk! The staff is incredibly friendly and enjoyable! The limo lady also very sweet ! We will definitely make it a point to come back! What a great find!!!!Thank you

We chose Eureka and this Best Western as it is located South of Redwoods National Forest and North of Humboldt State Park and mantpy cool Redwood communities around there. Our whole objective was to see Redwoods, including Avenue of the Giants. The trees were incredible.....a unique connection with them we did not expect to experience. You have to go to know! Pictures do not do them justice! Staying in the Eureka Best Western was a great location and clean. The restaurant was mediocre but convenient the night we arrived and were tired and hungry. The service was good. The Sea Grill- excellent! The hotel provided a free limo to restaurants in town!

I have to say the property is really nice and well located. the town is a beautiful and you can walk about pretty safely. I have to say you will be wowed by the water and training area, great job at providing a great escape. I only had one issue I had a surprise in the in room refrigerator, it seems like no one had cleaned it out and who knows how long. It was the most disappointing find. Because then your mind swirls on what else was overlooked in your room. The housekeeping manager was aware of it because I let the front desk know about it. However, the morning front desk lady made no mention of it as I was checking out. Just found it a big downer after enjoying all of the outside amenities this property offers and really so clean outside.

Todo fue excelente! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Eureka, CA. Very clean and very friendly staff. Free breakfast was great and they have quite a variety of items to choose from. I would highly recommend.

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this motel. There was a bit of traffic noise but it didn't interfere with our stay. We were glad to be able to find and visit good restaurants within walking distance.

Nice facility with fantastic desk staff during my one night stay. The hotel is well laid out with good parking. The rooms were quiet and updated. Everything was clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were feather. (I HATE foam pillows!). In the morning the breakfast area was a fun surprise. Behind a keycode gate was almost a grotto with spa area and pool. The breakfast room was nicely appointed with pretty much what you'd expect for breakfast fare. I did not visit this area the night before, but I'll bet at night when the weather is good, this place is hoppin ! I'll stay again on my next Eureka visit.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Kid friendly. Our boys loved the oasis area, one stayed in the hot tub for hours and the other played in the pool. Employees were very accommodating and polite and helpful. The breakfast choices were great, lots of choices for picky eaters. We will be back for future sports events or just for a family getaway.

We don't usually stay in Best Western, and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this was. Clean room, comfy bed, nice fluffy towels, bathrobes were provided, and pleasant staff. They had a pretty good breakfast included in the room rate (yogurt, fruit, waffles, jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches). There is a nice pool and hot tub with seating and heaters by the breakfast room. The biggest surprise is they offer limo service into town and bring you to the restaurant and pick you up when you're finished eating. Granted the old downtown is nearby but it sure was nice to ride especially after a long day driving, and the weather was cool and rainy.

I just got back from a trip up the coast line from San Diego to Seattle. A big part of planning this trip was the hotel research. I only selected those with positive reviews and this hotel more than met those expectations. This place felt like a hidden gem. I usually never bother with the pool/jacuzzi areas, but this one was so nice, I couldn't resist. Very relaxing. There was an outdoor firepit and fireplace area. Laundry facilities were helpful and I took advantage since I was on an extended trip. They even provided limo service to and from dinner. I was traveling alone and never felt nervous staying here. Would highly recommend!!

Great dependable, clean hotel. Great attentive staff. Amazing breakfast. I travel to this region routinely and wouldn't stay anyplace other than here. Great value for the price. Amenities at this hotel make it very relaxing

We were very happy with the Hotel. It seemed well maintained, Rooms were updated, clean and comfortable. They had a courtyard spa/pool area that was very nice. The breakfast area was just beyond. Very nice place. The breakfast was good. This will be our go-to hotel in Eureka.

The help went overboard in suggesting places to eat. Found one and the Hotel Limo took me there and picked me up. Great idea for a hotel in having the Limo. Selina was very good at driving me to the restaurant. Made my evening very enjoyable.

I enjoyed my stay and the helpful staff. they went out of their way to make my stay most enjoyable. I will stay here again when I return to the town. I am sure I will receive the same great service. I am running out of words to write. need I say more?

Our room was outstanding! Breakfast in the morning was excellent! They offer free limo ride to anywhere you want in the city...just tip the driver! Very well maintained hotel! Resteraunt right next door for our evening meal.....parking in front of our room Door!

Had a great stay being my first time there, the rooms were great, could not ask for anything more, the place where it's located is convenient, especially for a truck driver, had a wonderful stay and look forward to more visits up there

I cannot say enough about this Best Western! It is hands down one of the nicest Best Western's we have ever stayed in. The "Oasis" area is absolutely beautiful! Between the luau music, the gorgeous hot tub, the peaceful seating areas and the activities for the kids, we thought we were in a tropical area even though it's in a small town. We will definitely stay here again!

This is a nice facility. Comfortable, roomy room. One of the fun services they offer is free limo rides. With just tipping the driver. Since we were celebrating my friend's birthday I took advantage of using the limo to drive us to dinner. When we were done with dinner our server called the driver to come pick us up. All in all a nice experience.

We had a outstanding stay at the Best Western Plus in Eureka California. Its close to all attractions & had one of the best breakfast during our stay in California. Recommend all travelers to stay @ Best Western Plus in Eureka, Ca.

Would not return or recommend loud, unsafe area, no bay that we could see, rooms were expensive and not worth the $ in my opinion, the pictures on line do not tell the story. Had to change rooms because the "no-smoking" room reeked of pot smell.

We are sorry that you felt this way about our property and location. We do not advertise or show pictures that we are located on the bay or have bay views. Our rooms are priced competitively with all similar hotels/motels in our area and our rates are seasonal. All of our guest rooms are non-smoking, but we do have the rare occasion where a guest may smoke in a room, which we charge a hefty cleaning fee to "deep clean" the room. Im glad that we were able to change rooms for you and we apologize for the inconvenience. We hope that you will consider giving us another opportunity for next your overnight stay in our area as we really do have many extra amenities to offer our guests including our NEW Oasis spa area and our complimentary dinner limousine to name a few.

This is our conference hotel for my officials working at Humboldt State football games. Place has been remodeled and they are very friendly. It is an older property with no elevator to the second floor. It has excellent amenities with pool, hot tub, pool table, business center, exercise room and great breakfast. Chris and his staff do a great job. Rooms are well appointed and very clean. Will stay again.

Pretty new and well managed, very price effective . Good quality on all the service , clean and relaxing . Breakfast included with a good selection of food and beverage . I booked last minute in booking.com probably you can have a better deal directly

Easy to get to, clean rooms, and loved the pool and hot tub areas. It felt luxurious and pampering to stay here. Enjoyed the fire pit and heated lounge areas, since the temperature outside was cool. Website stated there was a BBQ, but there wasn't one. We brought food to BBQ, but ended up packing it back home.

Though the hotel was modest on the outside, the rooms were modern, the beds and pillows comfortable, the linens modern with a table and fairly comfortable chairs for relaxing in our room. A great value for the money.

This is a depressing, dated and unattractive property and should be avoided. Think of a motel room that you have seen on television to hide someone who is going into Witness Protection. Really creepy.

It was with hesitation that I booked a room at this hotel, but the reviews on here lead me to give it a try. It is GREAT! I know it is an older property, but what a great job of updating has been done here. The landscape is impeccable and the parking lot is spotless. That is just the beginning. We had a great updated room with shutters at the windows, a great bathroom, comfortable beds, and beautiful colors throughout. Then we went to check out the pool and what another surprise. This was not just a pool with a hot spa, but a quiet OASIS in which to relax. Several comfortable seating areas, some covered, some open air, all had patio heaters. There was a couple of areas sharing a nice fireplace, another was built around a gas fire-pit, lots of comfortable seating options at the pool, a pool table for guests. There was an outdoor 'tiki bar' too. It wasn't open when we visited, but it looked very nice. The breakfast area was clean and offered the BEST apple fritter I have ever tasted! Very attentive and pleasant staff every day! I can't recommended it enough to you.

We had an excellent stay at the Humboldt Bay Inn. We were greeted by a friendly smile even when she was having trouble with her internet due to the fires in California. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Selina, our chauffeur, was great. She was so helpful and friendly. We had stayed here about 10 years ago and regretted not taking the complimentary Limo. We weren't disappointed, even sharing the ride with a nice couple from the Seattle/ San Juan area. The breakfast was good, Selina was our hostess and rushed around making everything great. The Oasis and decour was very classy & comfy. Kudos to Selina, she's the best ambassador!!! Definitely will be back. Eureka is such a interesting, fun town.

We stayed for one night here and we were very happy with our room. It was clean and modern. We didn't mind that the room was rather small. The oasis area is great and breakfast was basic but good. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel I amazing. When you are at the "Oasis" pool area you feel as though you are at a fancy resort on a magical island vacation. The appereince of the hotel is impeccable. The breakfast is of good quality. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet.

They have updated rooms and they are beautiful! Small but nice! We stayed in the summer of 16 and fell in love with the Oasis and that's why we stayed on our honeymoon trip down the north coast! It was even better this time!

I agree with all the reviews I read before staying here!! The staff was great, friendly and helpful and professional; the accommodations were great, nicely decorated, comfortable and clean! The pool area is fabulous!! But the location is not so good! If you need to be in town or close to "old town" you are good. But very industrial area! Unfortunately, homeless around. I was very disappointed with the breakfast. I have stayed at a lot of BW PLUS, always pay extra and choose that cuz of the great rooms and hot breakfast. They had all the usual items, waffles, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs,etc., and they have Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches that you can heat up! So, they have the usual selection of breakfast items as regular BW but not the hot choices that I've experienced over many years!! That's a major reason we pay extra for the "Plus". Some are better and fancier than others, but always better than here! We were fine with our toast and yogurt and fruit, etc., but not what I expected out of a BW Plus. Also, unfortunately, we could hear noises from the adjoining rooms!!! Not voices but toilet flushing and showers and someone left a bathroom fan on that I heard all night, our last night. I'm a light sleeper but my husband also commented on the fan we heard alllllll night!! K. So just trying to be honest. We stayed for three nights, so weren't in our room except for sleeping. We were exploring and hiking areas around ..... so it was ok for us but I wasn't that happy. After driving by the other Best western on the other side of town, which was cheaper and looked newer and had a less industrial atmosphere, I think I would choose that next time!! So again, it was nice but didn't live up to all my other stays at BW Plus expectations!! And I paid more here than the other one. Sorry, management, but your staff was great! Your pool was great! Our room was comfortable and clean! Breakfast was what I could have had at a non PLUS! And unfortunately, noises from other rooms, not voices but plumbing was very loud!!

I had a great stay at the Best Western Humboldt Bay inn. From check-in to check out everything went smoothly and the staff was super friendly. The hotel appearance was nice and everything in the room worked well. The pool looked great and I wish I brought my bathing suit. They have a great breakfast as well.

Worst place for breakfast ever. The food was pre-packed microwaveable cardboard which was tasteless and inedible. Rooms were Ok but beds need to be replaced as I kept rolling to the edge. Given what was on offer, this motel does represent good value for money

Our breakfast has many items to choose from: 2 types of Jimmy Dean hot egg/meat sandwiches, pastries, donuts, muffins - freshly delivered from local bakery daily, different types of Greek yogurt, different types of Yoplait yogurt, hot waffle machines, oatmeal, 3 types of cereals, 3 types of fresh fruit, fruit cups, etc. There is also a restaurant on the premise that serves a full cook-to-order breakfast for those guests that want more than we offer in our free breakfast. The next time you come to Eureka, please let me know and I will more than happy to treat you to a breakfast to your liking at the restaurant. We hope that you will give us another opportunity to make us your lodging choice when visiting Eureka.

I've stayed at this Best Western dozens of times in the past 30 years, for business and pleasure. The service and quality has always been exceptional. And the property and service had only got better.
