Best Western Plus Bayshore Inn

Nice, quiet, clean place. We stayed for 3 nights in a king room on an upper floor with balcony and bay view in the back of the property. Comfy bed, large room for 2. Not a great view, with the hotel parking lot and other properties between the hotel and the water, but It was nice having a bit of the bay to look at beyond. Stick your head out and you could check out the nextdoor mall's parking lot. One reason we booked this place was because there's a walking trail behind the hotel. The Eureka Waterfront/Hikshari' Trail starts a block from the hotel on Truesdale Street. It's a nice, easy paved 1.5 miles 1 way along the water, including a wildlife area. We didn't explore the other direction, but looks like it goes a ways and would be great on a bicycle. The hotel has an interior koi pond and stream, so garden view seems like it would also be ok. We loved the sound of the frogs at night in the rain along the stream. Lots of options provided for breakfast, including the make your own waffle machine. One drawback: only light roast coffee was available in the breakfast area or in the room coffee machines, so we found a grocery store and purchased our own Kurig pods with dark roast coffee. No big deal, but surprising that the hotel only provided weak coffee in the common area. Staff was pleasant. The guy checking us in was enthusiastic and helpful.

Due to the ideal proximity to my destination, as well as the consistently friendly staff, and above average free breakfast, I have returned to this specific location, first for pleasure, and twice more for business.

A quick weather driven pivot moved us to this hotel (our original lodging lost power and they had to cancel a portion of our stay). This BW was available, and saved the day for our trip. Great parking. Friendly and accommodating staff. Room was clean, quiet and safe. Good attention to detail by housekeeping. Spacious room with a comfortable bed.

This hotel design is a little quirky. When you drive in, there's one set of buildings and then a little door gets you into an area between the first and second set of buildings. In that area, there's a second (outdoor) hot tub and a little garden. There's an indoor pool and hot tub in the first section. There are a lot of food choices across the street - Applebees, Innout, Chipotle, etc. Take a walk down from the hotel and within a 100 yards, you'll see the bay. There's a barbecue restaurant there as well.

Just a warning to the handicapped.....the bed in the handicapped room was SO HIGH..a surprise for a handicapped room...painful for me to use..no step stools available at front desk so we would not stay there again. Otherwise, a clean place. Pool gets really noisy if your room is by the pool but the noise didn't bother us.

Very friendly and accommodating staff took care of our large group very well. Quiet rooms and good breakfast. Management took care of the details for our large group in a friendly and professional manner.

A manager makes all the difference in a hotel stay. Tina met all the needs for our group. The way the breakfast area was set up made it easy for us to meet each other for breakfast each day. The buffet was freshly stocked and the menu varied daily. Also the bed was very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Beginning with booking the initial call Maria was caring, knowledgeable, and very passionate about making our stay great. Upon arrival Sac and Riley greeted us with open arms, that which you'd get from a close friend or family member. These team members set the tone for the rest of our stay. The property is a bit dated and weathered by the bay/coastal elements, but you can tell that Yuli, and the entire cleaning/housekeeping staff take an extra ordinary since of pride in their work. Even the edges are clean, even the areas of the property that aren't used often are detailed and organized. Our first morning breakfast was greeted with a warm sincere good morning at the door, you could tell right away this was an operational habit set by Tina and the other members of management and staff. To continue we were greeted by the night auditor and property security team, Charles carried himself well, and showed great ownership within his roll of the property. Dave and Bobby were collecting their orders of maintenance and repair for the day and hurried off to tackle the list with eagerness and smiles on their faces. Mornings were filled with busy checkouts and lots of phone calls at the front desk, Maria and Maggie handled them with ease. Taking the appropriate time with each task at hand, customer focus and is where this hotel strives. We can't forget James :); he is knowable and interested in sharing his experiences within the community to everyone. This has been the longest and best stay my family and I have had, to say the least we were sad to leave. Bay Shore Inn in Eureka, CA will be a place we defiantly stay at again and refer to our family and friends.

Koi pond was a nice attraction. Room was clean and everything worked. Grounds were well kept. There were many places to eat nearby. Easy access on highway 101. Room was real quiet. Parking was easy and plentiful.

I enjoy this hotel stay every time. The hotel staff is always friendly And they always have my reservations ready to go. I love the garden section of the hotel it's very beautiful. The mall and restaurants are nearby and within walking distance. There is also a walking trail along the shore less than a quarter mile from the hotel. They have a pool to jacozy's and a workout room with a pelaton bicycle, And a good breakfast. Overall, a great place to stay..

Most of the Best Western rooms require an update and this hotel was no exception. Lobby / reception present very well and the complimentary breakfast was excellent. Not a huge selection available in pet friendly rooms. Room was adequate including a large leather chair and ottoman. Travelled to Eureka to view the Redwoods. Best viewing was before we reached Eureka, disappointed venturing south.

Only stayed one night but f I were to visit the area again I would definitely stay here again! Dog friendly too. My dog got his own little welcome bag. Nice Touch. There are several hotels/motels in the area. I picked this one because it was dog friendly and we requested a ground floor room which is standard with dog friendly rooms.

A beautiful, safe place to stay in Eureka. The Garden area with the Koi pond and hot tub was a real treat. The breakfast was always good and the staff helpful. And located conveniently near a mall. The room had both a microwave and refrigerator.

Very accommodating to special requests. We were given a large spacious room with jacuzzi in the room plus large regular bathroom. The room had comfortable seating. The morning breakfast was very good . We found very few handicapped parking stalls. The courtyard was relaxing and a good meeting spot.

I got a nice spacious room with a jacuzzi tub and it was great the only thing I did not like was the pillows, my wife enjoyed the stay and was in love with the tub and the breakfast, which in my opinion breakfast was the best out of all the hotel's I've stayed out

Love how everyone was very welcoming, kind and friendly! The service was great. I drove 8hrs to stay in this hotel and their attention was great. All the staff deserves a raise! I would come back here again.

Guest services are friendly, and hotel is kept clean I like the option of two pools one outdoor and one semi-indoor. the Breakfast is large and lots of options. breakfaster service was constant, and dinning was clean.

Check-in: Easy and quick. The person checking me in was wonderful! I had driven over 8 hours to arrive here for the night and I have mobility issues (can't stand for very long), which were exacerbated by the long drive time. They came out to me in the lobby area so I could sit and complete check-in paperwork. They were very friendly and didn't make me feel like a burden at all to help me this way. A+++ for this (possibly Gloria or Maggie?). I will come back just because of this. Parking: The parking spaces are a bit tight, but they are right near the doors to rooms and the stairs for the upper floors. The ADA room was on the first floor and right next to a handicapped parking spot. The spot was already in use, but we easily found a parking spot close enough to be convenient for me. It could use maybe one more space designated as handicapped if there is more than 1 ADA room available nearby. Room: We had room #112. Clean and comfortable. The ADA bathroom was laid out well and very spacious. Good water pressure and temperature maintained - stayed exactly as I wanted throughout the entire shower. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers were in the shower for use. They were easy to reach with plenty of each product in them. The A/C worked well to cool the room down quickly - it was quite warm during our time there. Room #112 is right next to a hallway to the garden and koi pond area as well as a vending machine & ice machine. There was some noise from other guests using those amenities periodically, but nothing was bothersome or too loud. Other: There is a Mexican restaurant (Tres Picosos) right next to the front lobby area of the hotel which is convenient. We opted to order pizza and salads from a nearby Round Table Pizza for delivery which arrived quickly and fresh. We did not eat the complimentary breakfast at the hotel so no feedback on that.

We enjoyed the cleanliness of the room, nice drink bar and breakfast. The staff was very friendly and eager to help us when we needed one. We would definitely like to come back to this hotel in future.

Be aware that there is another Best Western in Eureka. This review is for the Bayshore Inn on 3500 Broadway. Pros: Nice location - a very short walk to the Bay (and you pass by a bbq restaurant to the bay) and next to a mall with McDonalds, In-N-Out and a number of stores. There's also a Mexican restaurant right next to the lobby. Plenty of free parking although the inner spots do fill up first. There's plenty of parking in the back parking lot. Decent breakfast with make your own waffles, biscuits and gravy, omelettes Big hotel with many different buildings/sections. You can walk through a door into a garden with a Koi pond and outdoor hot tub and then through another door into the next section and through that into a back parking lot. There's a covered hot tub alongside a partially covered pool. The pool is of a decent size. The sink is outside the bathroom/shower/bathtub area. Microwave plus a generously sized fridge. Cons: The rooms seem outdated although they do have granite countertops. The carpeting seems old. They do allow pets so that may have something to do with it. The TV remote and channels do not match the list of channels in the little card in the room. The fitness room did not have a water station and was intermingled with the laundry room and a shower. There was a TV but it was not plugged in and there was no remote.

Guest Services Manager (Tina) poor customer service skills; lacks the education and understanding of her role. No filter when communicating with guests; does not maintain a professional image, drinking and eating in front of customers.

Pleasant, reasonably comfortable room, good place for an overnight stop on our way up to the Redwoods.Convenient location. A shout out to the reception staff at check-in,who were very warm and welcoming. The unexpected snack basket was a nice and welcome addition. We were also able to do laundry which was very helpful.

I stayed for five nights. Breakfast was always kept interesting. Some days sausage, some days bacon. Some days scrambled eggs, some days delicious little veggie pepper omelettes. Biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, and a wide assortment of pastries and bread. TV matched the room size (no 32" for a King sized room,) staff extremely friendly, and I am going back at the end of the month!

We had a great stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant behind us, Shamus, was amazing and great food! We stayed in room 346, it was huge! The balcony and fireplace was nice. The breakfast was good, not great, but good.

I and my family have stayed at Best Western Plus Bayshore Inn, Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn, both in Eureka, and Best Western Casa Grande Inn, Arroyo Grande, all in California. The staff are very helpful and the accommodations are always clean and comfortable, Breakfast are plentiful and delicious

I'm staying here 3 nights. Just drove 8 hours from out of town. Asked for a bottle of their dollar store water and was denied because its for ELITE members only. I'm spending over $500 at this place and they cant part with a bottle of water. PATHETIC LOSER SHEEP.

The room was comfortable, everything worked great. The staff at this hotel is top notch, helping, making suggestions, friendly, and patient etc. Zach, James, Courtney and Tina, were so friendly, always gave the time and attention to our needs. The breakfast bar was also great, the staff attending the area were also very helpful with us traveling and eating with small children. Silva and Merced get A+ for their friendly, helpful attitude, and efficiency, the place was super clean and well stocked. The food was also very delicious, hot, fresh and a huge selection of everything you could want for a good breakfast. The private area where the fish pond and hot tub were was very nice.

I have stayed at this BW location before and I've had an okay experience. I usually stay at the BW across town because it has a tendency to be a bit quieter, but was unavailable unfortunately. The staff at this hotel are super friendly, professional, and helpful -- no complaints there. The exterior areas of the hotel appear to be well maintained and clean. If you want a quiet room, stay away from the backside of the hotel by Shamus T Bones restaurant. Very noisy until closing time. Unfortunately, this is the side that has a view of the bay, so consider this before booking. I'd booked a spa room hoping for a nice relaxing soak, but the condition of the room made we wary to use this amenity. The room was in need of a refresh and housekeeping improvement. The furnishings were stained, chipped, burned, peeling, dusty, dirty, etc. The worst part were the sheets on the bed. While they appeared to have been cleaned, there was what looked like a blood stain, as well as numerous shredded holes. I understand that rooms and furnishings get worn out, but to me there is no excuse for placing sheets with large holes on the bed.

This a favorite overnight getaway for the wife and I. The room was large, the bed was comfy, the spa tub worked perfect and with the added fireplace, it made for a very romantic evening for is. As this trip was focused on us, we did not use any of the other hotel amenities, but know from the past, there are in standard working order.

The hotel is one of the best in Eureka...some of the others are too near where the vagrants hang around...thus we feel safer here. The breakfast is very nice. The pet fee is a little high and caught us by surprise. We were there in January and was quite surprised how expensive our room was...but we had little choice...either here or further downtown where the homeless are.

This is our second stay at this location and were just as pleased as the first time. The grounds are clean. There is a courtyard that many rooms face into, which is nice with a pond and ferns. Staying in a room in the courtyard area is secure with room key entry to all hallways, making one feel even safer. Location is just inside of Eureka driving North. We were there for Christmas, and the staff were very pleasant, as well as the office and dining room decorated appropriately. The room was clean and large (King). Besides a bed, there was a fridge and micro, dresser, couch (not sure if pull-out bed), desk and lounging chair. Shower/toilet in a room off the vanity/sink area. The breakfast had amazing choices including eggs, meat, biscuits and gravy, cereals, waffles, fruit, yogurt, and more. The staff kept the food well stocked and were very polite and helpful. This will always be our go-to when we are in this area for future visits.

Good location,clean room,late check out,early check in and great breakfast. Staff was amazingly welcoming and super helpful was directly next to shopping and a great steakhouse will stay there again!!

James is such a hardworking, friendly employee, I felt so comfortable approaching him. Courtney was not nice, you can notice a change in tone of voice on topics that she didn't want to waste her time in.

The staff is amazing. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, The king sized bed was perfect. I travel with my dog and he was loved by the staff that met him! This is a great place to stay and explore Eureka! BTW you should check out The Samoa Cook House and the peninsula if you have time ro explore.

This is the number one choice in hotels. Best Western is above all the rest.The curb appeal, the checking in and beauty of the lobby, the landscape, the rooms are immaculate, the decor is really nice.

We were pleasantly surprised with our experience at this hotel. Eureka seemed sketchy but this hotel was clean and with comfortable beds and a friendly staff. The room was pretty basic, definitely not upscale but a good value. And if you're into bird watching, the Eel River is just down the street and the birding at low tide is amazing.

I'm not gonna lie Eureka is very?shifty town and this was one of the only hotel we felt safe in . It was busy well lit and had good restaurant on site .i gotta go back in a day or so and would stay anyplace else .The bed ,Tv and AC worked well as did the coffee maker .Dont screw around here your health an possessions arent worth losing I'm sorry to say only Albuquerque and Yuma have made me this nervous

We had a great stay at the BW in Eureka. Spacious room with a jacuzzi and balconey looking over the water (partial view). Breakfast was quite good with lots of choices. Checkin and checkout was smooth and effortless. Good recommendations for dinner. Friendly people dedicated to good service.

Vacation, romance the motel was very nice, and the staff was very nice. We enjoyed our vacation very much this year. It will most likely be our last one, but still, we wanted to see the coast one more time before we die.

Traveling with 2 e-bikes can be a security challenge. But, the exterior access to BW's ground floor rooms solves that problem since it allows us to roll our bikes into the room for the night. We stayed at numerous BW during our 14 day vacation to Vancouver BC and the Pacific Northwest - not all with that setup - and were pleased with every one of them. The ones without the exterior access where always helpful in finding us a safe space for the bikes.

We checked into the room to find it very filthy. There was still food on the chair, stains on the chair, footrest, carpet & more. When I called the front desk, there was even hesitation in offering a different room. Was passed from one employee to another. Finally made clear we would check out & expect a full refund at the desk. Showed the desk employee pictures I took of the room & asked if he would stay in it. His response was non-committal. Thankfully, there is a very nice Holiday Inn Express nearby that we were able to book a room. I usually have good luck with Best Western, but this hotel is awful

This location is at the quiet end of town. I've stayed here several times when visiting family. The facility has always been clean. Breakfast now includes a full breakfast not just muffins and yogurt. I'll stay here again.

While I can give the hotel in Eureka a good review, I did not feel particularly safe in the city of Eureka. The hotel and staff are friendly and take good care of their guests. The city of Eureka is overrun with drug dispensaries and homeless people on every street corner.

Another stop on our August 2022 vacation, two adults and three kids. The entire family agreed this one was a winner. From James at reception who was awesome with the kids quizzing him about everything under the sun, to the room, and to the breakfast, it was all perfect. We stayed in a family suite so we had extra space for everyone to be comfortable. Everything was clean and beds were comfortable. Our only issue with the room, and it is minor, was that the adults had to walk into the kids room for the bathroom and risk waking them and that the sink was outside the bathroom. I prefer it inside but understand the why it is not. Breakfast was awesome here. Note that this is a standard hotel buffet, but it had plenty of options and lots of seating. We only had one complaint and it was that we didn't get to use the pool or hot tub. Why? Well apparently some parents dropped off their dozen kids and let them run wild for 3 hours. We kept going back to try and get in but could not. Kids had taken over and honestly I don't know that they were staying at the hotel as we only saw them at the pool. One safety note is that they were cannon balling into the hot tub. I definitely don't endorse that. It was kind of chilly that day so not the biggest loss, but might be worth management keeping an eye on that area. If we ever return to town we definitely will stay again. The family is still talking about this hotel days later in a positive way so that says it all.

This resort-like setting is staffed by very friendly folks. Ashley and James received us with very helpful and personable attention. Our check-out clerk, Margie, was also very friendly. Our room was spacious and very clean with a balcony overlooking the harbor. The garden grounds are very attractive and well-kept. Their free breakfast was satisfactory. We were pleased to find ample and convenient parking close to several secured entrances to this spread-out property. We also appreciated that there were plenty of elevators and ice and vending machines conveniently located on every floor. Two first-class restaurants are right next door within easy walking distance. This is really a cool place! So glad we chose this hotel, and we definitely recommend it.

It's impossible for a hotel that does not offer housekeeping to receive a high review. The room was comfortable. There was a nice hot tub just feet away from my door. Parking was convenient. Location was good but only if you have a car. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Ironically, the young man in housekeeping was extremely helpful providing replenished room towels. It is long past the time we can excuse no daily housekeeping.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Overall the room was dark, needs updating and smelled old. Sleeping area was larger but all the lights were on one side of the room. Bathroom countertop was very low and light/fan/heat lamp combo was interesting.

The room was expensive. The carpet smelled very musty like pets stayed in there. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was a bonus. The location backs up to the bay for a walk or bike ride. The staff was friendly and helpful. Theres a restaurant on the property that made awsome margaritas.

Would stay here again. We were able to get a room on the second floor. Access via the elevator and the luggage carts made it easy to unload and load the car. Front Desk Staff was very friendly! I liked being next to the Sportsman's Warehouse. Breakfast was good. Plenty of food available; nice and hot.

The room was fine, the location was good, service was top notch. We ate at the restaurant nearby. This was the only place we stayed in a week long trip that required masks. I really didn't notice the furnishings but they seemed okay to us.

A very pleasant experience, once we got past the price of the room. The grounds are very attractive. Our room was nice and comfortable. We had a view overlooking the bay which was particularly beautiful at sunset time. There was a very nice hiking trail along the bay front. The breakfast was well above average.

Dirty place! There was grime and sticky gunk accumulation on commonly touched surface areas like refrigerator and light switches. The floor felt sticky. The location of hotel was in an area where a lot of homeless people.

I stayed at this place two or three years ago and things were a bit nicer and half the price it is now. They also could have a better selection for breakfast. No eggs? When I saw the price had doubled I had to use best western points and travel cards I had to lower the coast a little. Then made me call the rewards people and deal with it myself. I would have thought the front desk staff could have done that for me. I did not feel like a gold level reward member in any way. I had to wait about four hours to check in and asked for a first floor room. After the four hours they said I could have a room then or wait two more hours for a first floor room I had asked for????

We chose this place to check out Humboldt University with our 17 year old. We brought our family dog and we were happy that we could find a place that she could share. It was crowded because of the holiday weekend, but the breakfast had enough food and we didn't hear our neighbors that much. The pool and hot tub were very crowded the few times we looked. We didn't end up using either, because we were busy checking out the area.

The family stayed here overnight on our road trip. Having stayed at another best western the night before for the 1/2 the price, this Best Western left a lot to be desired. The rooms are okay but in need of a refresh/update. The bathroom doors in two rooms we stayed were pealing and the whole room looks dated. To compensate the staff are friendly and nice, and the breakfast is great however I wouldn't recommend this hotel beyond an overnight stay.

The good: Location, Friendliness of staff, great breakfast, pool/amenities, Garden/Koi pond/ accessibility of ice and vending machines. The Not-so-good: Bar soap in bathroom (truly not good), toiletries in bathroom are micro-mini sized and not replenished. Had to walk to front desk 4 different days to get fresh towels. Room was not refreshed EVER during our 4 night ($1,000) stay. Our king size mattress had a big sink hole in the middle. We rolled in at night and climbed out every morning.

One of the best Best Western Hotel I stayed in. Very cozy ambiance, convenient location, shoping and restaurants within walking distance, 5 minute walk to waterfront and super helpful staff. One of the best hotel in Eureka. Good location for family stay.

i had to show my ID to hotel staff just so i could get a cup of coffee an breakfast. i was very embaresssed. so to make matters worse i asked a hotel maid for coffee packages for the room an she said no i dont have any when i could clearly see them on her cart. overall a huge embaressment

My mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer and she wanted to go to Eureka and Merced. During our stay in Eureka she enjoyed herself so much she wanted to continue her vacation there instead of traveling to Merced.

Clean and comfortable and close for day trips exploring the redwoods. The indoor pool is really an indoor/outdoor pool making it too cold to use in the off season while we where there in March. Staff is fantastic and gave us lots of tips for visiting the area.

Not impressed with space reserved for pet owners to walk dogs...far from rooms and a narrow strip of grass beside a street. Staff were great, room regular (altho bathroom area small) buy I feared for my dogs safety having to walk thru the parking lot to the meager pet area. We were asked not to walk thru a safer "garden" area. Will look for another place in Eureka even tho we are Best Western Rewards menbers.....

You don't have any high-end options for hotels in Eureka, but there are defintely some that rise above the others and indeed, rise above their own star rating. The BW Plus Bayshore, is definitely one of those. Compare to the nearby Holiday Inn Express, the BW offers a comparable service for a slightly lower rate, but it's still an expensive option for this part of the world. Almost the first hotel you come to as you enter Eureka from the south, the property is pretty large and sits on the main 101 corridor, just next to the large Bayshore Mall. It's close enough to downtown/Old Town Eureka and there are some nice trails along the coastline within a stroll from the hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and certainly will do all they can to help. Check-in and out is thus smooth and easy. The lobby/cafe is in a separate building to the rest of the property. They offer a breakfast service each morning as part of the rate and this is where it's served. It's a bit hit and miss. A lot of options, but little in the way of healthy food. Some days there's fruit, most days, there isn't. Eggs, breakfast meat, biscuits, gravy, waffles, cereal, breads, bagels, pastries are always offered. A long stay will help you pile on the pounds. Coffee, tea and juice are always offered and there's a coffee/tea maker in each room. Rooms are large and spacious. Depending on which way you're facing, they can be a bit dark and gloomy. The brown/beige decor doesn't help with that. The large space definitely helps make up for the gloom. There's a table with two chairs for eating/working, a large lounge chair and footrest, a dresser with TV, microwave, fridge and drawers and a separate working desk and chair. The WIFI is not good. Very slow and limiting. Alas, that's true of the entire property so no area is better than another. If you need downloads, best to use the guest computer/printer in the lobby area as that is much faster. Beds are comfortable and the linens clean. There is no housekeeping unless you request is 24 hours ahead of time. Not ideal. You'll need to deal with your own trash in between. The bathroom area is in part of an alcove in the room. There's a rack for hanging clothes, iron, ironing board and coffee maker in this area along with the basin. The toilet and shower/tub are in a separate space. With no housekeeping, you will need to recycle towels and try and find shampoo & soap replacements from the maid cart. Noisy guests are quite the issue at this property. There is fairly good soundproofing, but during my stay, guests in the courtyard/parking area were firing up their engines and leaving them running as early as 6AM. Plus other drivers were revving their engines as they arrived/departed in the middle of the night. One dog started barking at 7AM and didn't stop for an hour. Most of the amenities seemed to be unavailable. The indoor pool was closed, although there was a workout room open. There's also Mexican restaurant on property that offers 10% discount to hotel guests. All in all, it was a reasonable stay, but for what's on offer, the rate really is too high. I wouldn't expect to pay close to $100 for this service/property in a major city, let alone Eureka in February. They are one of the better properties in the area for sure and they know it. Hence they know they can charge over and above the value.

I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. The staff was very friendly, answering any questions I had. I requested a room change when I first got there, as the room smelled a bit like smoke. The front desk immediately found me a new room that I was totally happy with. The steak house behind the property was a pleasant surprise. Happy hour and you get a discount if you show your room card. I definitely suggest this hotel if you are in Eureka.

We selected this facility because it had a suite where our child could have his own room and the location for accessing Redwood National Park. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the hot breakfast each morning. The staff was helpful and friendly.

This hotel has everything you could possibly want. A full service fitness center with treadmills, step master, elliptical, and weights, plus a convenient bathroom. A pool and hot tub. Fabulous full hot breakfast with extremely convenient hours (6am-10am) and a wide variety of food for all tastes. Fridge, freezer, and microwave in the room. The rooms are very quiet and well-isolated from outside noise and noise from adjoining rooms. The place was packed when we were there, but inside our room we felt like we had the place to ourselves.

After staying in cheaper places while traveling, this hotel was a relief. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable room. There's a great steak restaurants walking distance away. Nice shower, comfy kingsize bed. Safe parking, elevators.

The hotel is just off the main highway so access is very easy. The staff are friendly and helpful. We were on the second floor overlooking the courtyard but there was no balcony. It was the walkway to other units so we kept the curtains drawn so people could not look into our room. The room was adequate and the bed was comfortable. When my husband went to use the hot tub he said that there was scum on top of the water and it was cold. The pool area was not usable. Breakfast was uninspired.

This is one of the best BW hotels I have stayed at. Close to food, great rooms and good price. Close to a great walking and biking trail. Hot tub and pool were very clean and warm which was great for Febuary. We really enjoyed the stay.

Reading review on the area had me iffy with where to stay. Though I do believe the rate are extremely high for the area I would to stay somewhere that I could actually sleep safely and glad that I choose this space. Though the room is basic and could use some updates it was still comfortable for a nights rest

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I decided to switch rooms to a balcony with garden view. Extremely accommodating. The breakfast was a great variety of hit and cold buffet foods. The room as clean. The amenities were great. The location is so convenient, still with a comfortable private feel!

I had a great time staying here. The staff was great and very friendly. They make you feel welcome. The room was nice, clean, and the jucuzzi was the perfect way to end the day and get some good night sleep. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

When I first arrived at the hotel , I was greeted with such friendly and kind employees. I stayed there for about 90 days , and each person employed there went out of their way to help me feel at home.

My trip was down 299 long ,winding ,with many delays , i arrived tired ,stressed , The front desk staff were kind ,understanding and helpful , i got a room on the second floor ( something i never do because im disabled and have great trouble with stairs , but they had an elevator, a wonderful help ( all multi level hotels should have one ) the room was very nice with a view of the koi pond ,and a jacuzzi tub , ( a privacy curtain would have been appreciated,as i was traveling with a friend ) the hotel also had a hot tub and a heated pool ( a most welcome treat , i made good use of the hot tub for my aching road weary body ,the pool was a bit too cold for me ,but my friend loved it )the beds were very comfortable ,i liked having a fridge and microwave in the room , there was a large tv , even though there were rooms above me it was surprisingly quiet , i had a good night's sleep and woke well rested and ready for the days adventure ,i would have loved to stay longer but had to return home , im looking forward to my next trip and will do my best to stay at that best western again

We live about five hours south and periodically throughout the year will have the insatiable urge to visit Eureka and the beautiful national and state parks near it. We always stay at the Best Western Plus Bayshore Inn. Why? The rooms are comfortable. The grounds are interesting (when was the last time you saw a koy pond at a hotel?). The free breakfast is really good. But this time I must highlight the woman who checked us in at 5:00 that afternoon. The next morning, while heading into breakfast, I spied her there at 7:00. I mentioned that it appeared that she works long hours. Her response? "They're not long to me. I LOVE my job. I LOVE interacting with our guests." I was blown away.

Very nice hotel. koi pond was relaxing to watch. On road trip up the 101 highway. Very quiet. the rooms were very clean and well decorated. Restaurant close by within walking distance. From desk very friendly. Breakfast was very good and covid safe. would highly recommend.

This property is located just a couple of blocks from the bay (the turnoff from Hwy 101 leads to a public park on the water--watch out for homeless people at night). It is well-situated for drives into town, to Ferndale, and other neighboring communities. Office staff were friendly and check-in/check-out were easy. The property is pet-friendly (for a price) and walking the dog was easy with plenty of mutt-mitts located on-site. There is a Mexican restaurant in the hotel's parking lot where you can get a 10% savings for being a guest. We dined elsewhere however. The buffet breakfast was a little underwhelming but, in these COVID times, at least it wasn't a grab-n'go or nothing at all. Our room was located on the second floor above the office which put us closer to the highway and parking lot noise with a beautiful balcony view of the McDonald's across the street. With no elevator having to lug a bunch of luggage upstairs wasn't a lot of fun (and in 10 more years will be impossible, I'm sure). The swimming pool is partially covered and the weight room is next to it on the other side of the property. There are public-use computers available near the office. The rooms/buildings do look well-maintained which is a plus. If I found myself in Eureka again I'd consider staying here but would certainly look for alternatives.

This is, by far, the nicest BW we've ever seen! The lovely garden with a koi pond and hot tub lead to our room which is large, clean and very comfortable. The staff has been friendly, kind and accommodating. We were delighted with our free breakfast and the women staffing it. We especially appreciated the charming, kind and helpful young woman, Zeena, who checked us in after an exhausting day. She made us smile and relax a bit after a very difficult trip.

Stayed here during a trip up the northern CA coast. Fairly nice Best Western located within walking distance to food and shopping. Seems Arcata may be a better place to stay in the area with newer and less expensive options.

This is one of the nicer hotels in town. We got 10% off at 2 different restaurants within walking distance, they have a heated pool/hot tub, and was able to fill all our requests. Big rooms, very nice staff, they really tried to do all they could for us, since we had a little problem with our plugged toilet. I loved the hot breakfast, many options to choose from, Waffles, pastries, breads, hot oatmeal, yogurts, fruit cups, 3 cereals, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and red skinned potatoes, omelets another day, sausage or bacon, coffee, tea, and cocoa packets, almond milk, 2%, whole milk, and juice dispenser.

We were headed up the coastline on our first trip after Covid closures and found the Eureka Best Western to be a perfect stopping place. It was conveniently located and very pleasantly decorated. The grounds were beautifully flowered. The staff was professional and gracious. The room had a very comfortable layout and had many comforts of home. We would definitely return on a future trip.

We traveled to the beautiful town of Eureka, and for one night, I booked a romantic suite here for my husband and my anniversary. I booked a king-size jacuzzi site with a fireplace and balcony. I called ahead to let them know I was traveling with pets. They told me there was a $30 fee. No problem. They told me I was on the 2nd floor when I checked in, which seemed a little odd since I had pets. When I asked them they told me there were no suites left on the 1st floor. I asked where I should take my pets out, and they had no suggestions but told me I could not take them to the garden. I asked about the balcony in figuring I could at least lay pet pads down and clean up if there was no place to take them when they let me know there was no balcony on my room. I asked why and they said they didnt have a suite with a balcony that I could have pets in. This would have been nice to know when I called ahead. I did the speedy check-in and requested two extra bath towels and some extra tissues, which were not in my room when I arrived. There was also only a quarter roll of toilet paper left, so I had to call down and ask for more. The fireplace was broken as well as the Jacuzzi tub. I called the front desk to let them know, and the response I got was that some of the fireplaces didn't work, and they would tell maintenance the next day. A lot of good that did me when I was checking out. Nothing was fixed, and this ruined our anniversary night. The next morning they took off the $30 pet deposit as a way of saying sorry, but I feel like they should have done so much more. Beware of this place.

We always stay here. Its just an overall great experience. Pool, sauna, hot tub. The restaurants, and bars. They have breakfast for you but golden harvest is amazing down the street ot McDonald's next door for lqte night. Plus the bay walk for family and pets. Its just the best. And clean beautiful room with amazing staff⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed here one night and found the room was very tired and in need of updates. We found dark hair still on the floor of the bathroom floor, which a housekeeping person was very helpful to correct. The furniture is old and I would not think for a minute that this was a Best Western Plus. I was really disappointed as the price was very high. I would not stay here again.

Our room had 2 queen beds and a jacuzzi which was a great alternative since the pool was constantly occupied by kids. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were too big and lumpy so I used the towels as a head rest instead. Breakfast was great and offered a good selection of scrambled eggs, omelet, breads , pancakes and beverages. Parking was ample and easy. It's close to to the waterfront and old town. Surrounded by restaurants and the mall. On our first night an accident occurred at the parking lot when we were awoken by 2 burning vehicles across where we parked. The firefighters were able to put it out in good time but it was a horrific, worrisome experience. My only beef with best western is that no one from their company bothered to check up on its occupants to let us know what happened and if there was still residual smoke odor in our room. It was a bit pricey, but since our Oregon trip was cancelled we had to settle with the least negative reviews.

A Best Western customer for many years, this stay was an unpleasant surprise. How it rates the Plus designation begs the question, what's happened to the Best Western brand. Efficiency and competence needed by front office staff. Can't even program key cards for a 2-day stay, requiring a return to the office for room key for second night. AND, room had not been cleaned or made up followinig first night's use. Bath tubs are the size of postage stamps. Bathroom is closet-size. Gonna think of this stay as a bad dream.

This is located on the edge of town, so a great starting place for wherever you may want to go. There are two restaurants next door, and a short walk to the bay with a trail along it. It has a beautiful garden courtyard and a wonderful staff.

This was a helpful and pleasant part of our trip to ther Redwoods in California asa family. The staff here was excellent and respected totoally my need for a ground-level room and always willing to help with fresh towels.

If you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay...this is a very good option. Our family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights. I am very picky about cleanliness and this hotel measured up. The only thing that bothered us was that the shower drain kept backing up. Other than that, everything was clean- our room was very large and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was better than most, but just ok. No fresh fruit- but you could choose cereal oatmeal, bagels, eggs, pancakes and a variety of other options. They even had Almond milk which we prefer so that was a major plus for us. We didn't use the pool or walk the grounds so we can't say much about those amenities. The parking lot was always full but once we were in our room we didn't hear too much noise (and we were by the elevator/stairs and ice machine). The service here was pretty good. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. There is a Mexican food restaurant on the grounds and a McDonalds across the street. We ate closer to downtown at Lezmila's and at Pho Thien (which was very good). Overall it was a great stay for the price and availability for when we visited

Our rooms were not cleaned and hotel provided pool towels for use. Had to go to front desk every day of my stay to get towels and other toiletries. Staff are not friendly. It seemed like we fought to get service.

We stayed here 2 nights and it was a nice place to stay. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot with decent water pressure. The blanket on the bed barely covered the width of the bed (more like a full than a king size) so I spent the night pulling the blanket over me. The hotel was very clean. I do feel the room was over priced but it is California.

This hotel has it all! The rooms are spacious, clean and have up to date decor. Nicely located next to a shopping mall and within 10 minutes of the ocean. A well presented breakfast every morning including everything from sausage and gravy, to eggs, and cereal. The pool and spa have easy access and are kept clean. Overall a great place to stay.

We stayed in Eureka for a couple of days, and this hotel was located on the south end of town. Good place for pets, as there are lots of vacant places to walk the dog, including a short walk to the water. Nearby restaurants were good places within walking distance. Room was nothing special, but clean and spacious. There was a strong cleaning product smell when we first walked in, but it might have been because we had a pet room. Quiet surroundings. A large mall next door that is not fully occupied, and a lot of campers/trucks/cars park on the street next to the hotel (did not feel unsafe, however). Breakfast was great - just like pre-COVID! Waffles, eggs, toast, yogurt, fruit, etc. There were restrictions as far as masks and gloves were concerned. Most people followed them. Not sure why the hotel was so expensive, but I felt that it was expensive for what we got. Plus we paid an extra $60 for the dog each night, which is much more than other hotels we stayed at. Still, it was a good option for the area.

We stayed here on a quick trip down the coast. Check in was quick and easy. Both the male and female clerks were friendly and professional. They certainly made those of us Best Western members feel special! I was offered water, cookies, or chips at check in. The outside of the hotel is very welcoming. The moment I stepped into the elevator I began to worry. The tile was extremely dirty, it didn't look like it had been mopped in months! Our room was a good size with a jacuzzi tub but the decor is very old and the room is in desperate need of re-furbishing. The carpet was filthy with several dark stains and the tile in the bathroom was very old and dirty. The room smelled like cigarette smoke but it must have just been the cleaning supplies because I didn't notice that smell when we returned from dinner. The rest of the room appeared clean, the towels and sheets were all clean and in good condition. We ate at the Mexican restaurant next to the hotel and the food was actually very good. We appreciated the 10% discount too. The following morning we headed to breakfast. The side door had been left open by a guest who exited before we got there. We used it to enter the dining area. Immediately my son was told by the older female breakfast worker that he needed to “sanitize his hands!” She did ask, she didn't request, she forcefully demanded that he do so. Interestingly enough, several people entered after him and no one was around to tell them to sanitize so I question how necessary it truly was. If the hotel was worried about infection control, maybe they should have workers serving the food like other hotels have gone to or have someone stationed at the hand cleaning station and have them ask guests to wash their hands. A few moments later, a guest came in with a dog and in her same authoritarian tone, she told the guest “Dogs aren't allowed in here!” I believe there is a way to communicate without demeaning someone. That worker could use some classes in customer service! The other two younger workers were much more friendly. Unfortunately her attitude ruined our breakfast.

Note: my visit was before June 15 (pre-COVID re-opening). The hotel is a little bit out of the way because it's not walkable to downtown. The mall across the street was sad. Only about a third of the spaces had businesses; however, the large box stores were open (including a Walmart). Nearly everyone will arrive by car, so I don't think location is a problem. Anyways... When checking in and out, the front desk staff was quick and professional. I appreciated the welcome I received. The room was spacious and mostly clean. The furniture wasn't dusted and it was very noticeable because of the dark finish. Cigarette butts were found on the little balcony (even though the building is "no smoking"). Towels and linen were fresh and fine. Carpet was clean. I booked the room because I really missed taking a bath. The jacuzzi looked clean. There weren't many COVID restrictions for breakfast it seems. The staff required guests to sanitize their hands and wear a mask when entering the breakfast room. Disposable gloves were given to everyone when handling the serving utensils. There were no restrictions for the food. If someone wasn't following the rules, staff would ask them nicely to do so. I appreciated the time when one guest put on his mask when asked, but took it off after the staff member walked away. When the staff member reminded him again about his mask, she stood there and waited for him to return to his table to eat. (PSA: COVID can kill you. Get vaccinated.) There are two on-site restaurants. Both were fine. They weren't gourmet, but I thought the quality and value were good. 10% off at both places if you're a guest.

Even though restrictions have been lifted enough to allow for in person dining in the lobby and optional mask wearing on the grounds, this hotel has decided that they are going to continue to use Covid as an excuse to not clean their rooms everyday or even bring new towels/bedding we were here for several nights and there were no towels in the pool area and they never came in and even took the trash out in the room. We went to the desk to ask about cleaning and they said they could give us new towels to take to our room and new bedding so we could change our own beds! Then we could bring all the linen to the lobby to be cleaned! Given the outrageous price that we paid for the room I didn't really appreciate them asking me to do their job for them! And please stop using Covid as an excuse not to do your job!

We always enjoy staying at this hotel for the indoor/outdoor swimming pool feature. Their breakfast is always good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are always cleanly and beds comfy. It's one of the nicer hotels in this area. I do think it's a bit overpriced but that's for most hotels and in this area you'd rather pay a bit more to be sure to stay in a good area and in a clean hotel room.

Booked this hotel directly with a staff member at the hotel. He graciously matched an online deal which was a better price than what their normal rates are. The room was very spacious and had a balcony with a view of the bay. I will say that although the bay was beautiful, there's a lot of noise due to industrial work areas across the street as well as patrons of the restaurant behind to hotel. Breakfast was included, more of a continental one which was just ok. There's a garden area in between the two wings of the hotel. That was very pretty and included a koi pond. Big issue with that is it attracts a bunch of rats. Be careful especially at night as they'll run out from the bushes towards around.

This was a good choice in a hotel. For my family of 6 I was able to stay in one room with 3 queen beds. Wish more properties would have this option for larger families! Loved the breakfast buffet being back! Such a reasonable covid safe option with masks and gloves. I would stay again if in the area, but really just don't understand why all the hotels in Eureka were so expensive.

I have stayed at this hotel several times, multi night stays each time. The rooms clean and staff are friendly. The hot breakfast is enjoyable. It is right next to the Bayshore Mall and there are restaurants and fast food businesses within walking distance.

The stay was great. Front desk staff were some of the best I have ever encountered (and I travel often). The room was clean with the exception of a few stains on the floor. Very spacious with a whirlpool in the living room. Our tv remote didn't work and we did call to get it fixed but never had that problem resolved ( I think they were a little short staffed that night). The bed was comfortable. The grounds were great. The pool and hot tub were warm/hot. Only issue was the price was pretty high. Not sure what the demand is for that area that makes it so expensive (even on the weekend) but I wouldn't probably pay that again. But it definitely was the best option in the area and overall it did not disappoint.

We had been in the car for 8 hours when we arrived a few minutes before 4pm. We were told our room was not ready and they'd call us. Tired from being in the car so long, we went over a few possibilities and the very helpful staff came up with a solution that met our needs. Thankful for their ability to listen and really am impressed with their customer service. We traveled with a pet and thankful best westerns allow pets. The bonus after many days of traveling this hotel was offering a hot breakfast, traditional best western style, with eating in the breakfast room. What a nice experience after not eating in a hotel breakfast room for so long. Breakfast offerings were a welcome surprise as we have had so many terrible covid breakfast options in the last month. Way to go, and really made my day. Bonus was when we left the hotel it was easy access to get in 101 south and continue driving. Exceptional staff. Thanks.

Stayed here one night from Sat to Sun as a pitstop to our road trip. Reserved online, room was ready upon arrival. Only issue we had was the bathroom had a pugnant smell to it but it did not bother the rooms as the door remained shut. There were a few available parking spaces spread out the lot and there is a restaurant next door that is open pretty late. Customer service was on-point as we had a couple request, amicable staff.

The staff at this location were so friendly and kind. I was able to add a night to my stay at short notice and given a “garden view” room. The garden is a hidden gem! Twittering birds in the morning and frogs croaking at night are a symphony for the babbling stream leading to a huge pond brimming with content, relaxing koi. I greatly appreciated that this location offered safe buffet breakfast during the COVID pandemic. I highly recommend this hotel!

I have never been treated so disrespectful and rude in my life. I am an avid traveler and stay at very nice hotels and establishments. This place treated me like I was one of the homeless across the street at the gas station. The desk clerk that evening was one of the most judgmental people I have ever met. I rented a deluxe king room with jetted tub for a friends baby shower that weekend. My pregnant friend had plans to come over that next morning to enjoy. Her mother and I were both driving from far so we didn't arrive in town until late that night around 930pm. We decided right away to eat at Humboldt Bay Bistro and enjoy the lobster. Then we decided to go do the road and have a few drinks. So we actually didn't show up until 1am. We arrived in a taxi who I do admit was playing his music loud. The female latino desk clerk came out and snapped at us about the music. I told the taxi driver to turn it down, which he immediately did. I walked in to the hotel and immediately she tells me that she is refusing service. I ask why, and she says "you are playing loud music" I said it wasn't us, its our taxi. Then she replied, "I'm sure you told him to do that. What!!!! are you kidding me. It got worse from there. I told her I was a medical professional, and we were not going to be loud. She said she didn't believe me and was still refusing service. There wasn't anything we could say. She even threatened to call the cops if I kept arguing. I was not rude, aggressive, or even threatening. First of all this hotel is right across the street from an all night gas station that has unsavory people hanging out at all night. We know because it took us 45 minutes to get a taxi after being denied service. And there were 3 cop cars a block down the street dealing with an incident at the time we checked in. My opinion is she is used to riff raff showing up. But treating me and my friend the way she did was inexcusable. That woman needs to go to some sort of training or just not work in the hospitality industry period!!!! I would not recommend this Best Western. It is in a very bad neighborhood and the management reflects this fact. I would love to give this 1/10th of a star review. Worst experience ever!

My guest and I stayed at the end of March 2021 for a few days. Although the front desk staff was slammed with new arrivals because many hotels were sold out, Cody or maybe Cory, had a professional, pleasant attitude, greeted customers with kindness while he trained a new employee. The breakfast staff was patient redirecting guests to put on the plastic gloves before food handling, pleasant and they worked hard putting out the selections of food that included warm sausage biscuits, typical fare no doughnuts thankfully, milk/coffee, waffle maker that guests learn how to do properly, fruit I believe. Although my guest has health requirements for a higher protein meal, he was able to eat the burrito that had meat foregoing the potato inside. He said the burrito was quite tasty & appreciated. Grounds and lobby were clean, sanitizer was available as well. Our room was quiet, on the 3rd floor but the elevator was helpful for my guest. Across from the hotel a bit, there's an area where sunsets can be viewed, so go check that out. Enjoy!

I usually love this hotel! But the last couple of times when I've tried to request a certain type of room on the floor they have given me the afterthought rooms even though I had requested multiple times far in advance and I am a best Western member. This time we were in a large room which was nice, but the balcony was right on the road and we had an RV parked 4 feet from our balcony. Someone had thrown stuff at our slider and we felt very unsafe. We left a day early.

Hotel check-in and check-out was excellent, as was the staff. The garden area is the best, and the Jacuzzi suites were very spacious. Housekeeping staff needs to take a little more time, as there was dog hair in one room, and visitor belongings left behind in a second room. Also, we were a little disappointed the hot tub near the main pool was not open. Traveling with a child that meant that I had to freeze in the swimming pool or my daughter had to put just her feet in the garden hot tub. I could have soaked while watching her in the pool had it been open. Shams Steakhouse behind the hotel was a gem. I just wish it offered room service

We had a great stay. We are local and I just wanted to get away from the house for my Birthday. Check in was fast. But the card reader on the door was not working. The Front Desk Attendant changed our room. The room was OK looking, but I was expecting something a little fancier, since the outside of the Hotel is gorgeous. We got a jacuzzi room. It was bigger than I was expecting, so that was a plus. Over all, the room was very clean and everything worked. It was also very quiet, BIG plus there. I always stay at Best Western because they accept pets. Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommend this Hotel.

Great hotel. Staff was great. Unfortunately due to COVID no room cleaning or restocking was provided. Not their fault. I understand. However for a ten day stay. This was very inconvenient. Will definitely be my first choice every time I go to this area

Our room had a terrible odor, so much so, my daughter and I had to get fans and humidifier to mask it the smell. The toilet wasn't bolted down all the way, so it would rock. The hotel needs some sort of security, because of the homeless issues as well, didn't feel super safe. This Best Western needs an upgrade! New carpet is first in the list (1-2 star hotel at best).

The Motel was great when we arrived then realized what was missing were enough linens and bathroom products. Also I was traveling with my dog and was not told there were additional fees for pets until I checked in. For a $207.00 stay ended up being over $300.00

While I missed both the names the Young lady who checked us in as well as the checked us out were Both AWESOME. As was every single staff member I had any dealings with. We will stay here each and every time we are in the Eureka area. I also want to acknowledge the fact that our check-in person was very appreciative of the fact, almost surprised like, when I came back in to tell her that we ended up with our dog staying in our room because our Granddaughter had gotten in trouble so our daughter would not let her have the dog overnight. AGAIN this BW has an INCREDIBLE and professional staff. Looking forward to our next stay. The Mexican Restaurant located in front of the Motel has excellent food and plenty of it. as does the Steakhouse located behind it. Also there is a nice walking path along the bay just beyond the steakhouse. You may find a newer or slightly better motel around, but, you will NOT find a better staff of people.

Reception was great both arrival and departure. I checked in and my original room was on the 2nd floor I asked to be moved to the 1st floor and without question they reception took care of it and was able to get me a room on the 1st floor no problems. I recommend

Well the title says it all, there was a mouse running around our room so we had to move. Staff brushed us off and didn't take us seriously when we brought this too their attention, and we're very curt about it. Overall it looked great in the pictures but didn't live up to expectations.

The room was amazing, bed comfortable, courtyard cozy and relaxing. Only thing I might complain about was the number of broken down and otherwise disabled looking RVs all over the place! It isn't something the hotel can do much about, but having to wander through them to get to the restaurants around the hotel was not very comforting. From the moment I walked into the front lobby to check in, to the moment I turned the keys in, every person we came in contact with on staff were very courteous and helpful. We will definitely plan to stay here next time we are in town. The room was large and comfortable, the amenities are outstanding and the ambiance was very nice. Aside from a few kids making noise for a bit in the late evening, it was very quiet and comfortable. It made our getaway very memorable! Thank you!

This is probably my 6th or 7th stay here and my 4th review. This place used to be a gem in Eureka. We have family here, so we come often, and I always would look forward to our stay here. This trip comes after a vacation up and down Oregon, and utilizing our Best Western rewards by trying to stay at all BW's. I'm not sure what happened here over the last few years, but ownership needs to take a look at what they had, and what they have now. We called ahead and were given a room in a preferred area on a preferred floor. When we got here, that was not the case. Our room was not ready until 4. This caused much confusion leading up to having reserve a spot for hot tub. All these are harmless errors. Now, it's bedtime. We turned down the bedding and it's 'short-sheeted'. It appears they used double size bedding in queen beds. We literally had to strip, and remake our own beds. Also the bedding quality is no better than a cheap motor lodge. I'm a bit dismayed. Yeah, I'll probably get the canned language response from the person in charge, but something has averaged out this hotel, and it is nowhere near the quality of a BW Plus. This has nothing to do with COVID or cleanliness, and it still is. You cannot have this subpar sleep quality and call it Best Western Plus. Unfortunately, my next trip will have to be elsewhere, and that's sad, as I had a real connection to this place

We stayed here on our way to the Redwood National Park - it was a good midpoint for us since we were coming from the bay area. This hotel is conveniently located near lots of restaurants, gas stations and stores all within 5 mins. The room was clean and spacious - due to covid the breakfast in the morning was to go only. The pool was open during covid in case you were looking for a place with with a pool/hot tub. There is a security guard who walks around the property at night since there are some interesting characters walking around the area, but it's safe for the most part. There's another Best Western, but I would say this one is better since the other one is located in a sketchy area.

I received a notification (through the BW app) that I could "pre-register" for my stay. Following the other reviews on here, I asked for a 3rd floor room with a garden view. When I got to check in...there was no mention of my "pre-register" requests or that I had even done it. The front desk was behind a screen and they were wearing masks. I was given my room assignment and it was on the first floor next to the indoor/outdoor pool. There are only exterior doors which I am not really a fan of (being a former flight attendant, the airline I worked for only put us up in hotels with interior doors/rooms). The room had a musty/stale smell. I brought along my clean kit and Clorox wiped and Lysol sprayed everything that I would touch just to be sure. I was also given an ADA room, and I don't feel right taking those rooms with the worry that someone who actually needs the accessibility would need it. The pool was loud for a while, but overall the hotel was pretty quiet. The grab and go breakfast was good, with a hot breakfast sandwich as one of the choices. They let 2 people in at a time to get their food. Overall an average stay at an average place, but I would have thought for the price, they would have honored my requests and/or it would have been a little more updated.

This hotel is pretty bad. We arrived in the evening and had a bad feeling about the location. We get checked in and the lobby area is pretty sketchy. We then get into our hotel room which has a terrible odor, the lighting is terrible and has one light that is constantly going out then coming back on. The shower tub wouldn't drain and every time the person below us turned on the fan it made our room shake. We Immediately told the front desk and they gave us a discount. We also cancelled the next night we had booked and got a room at the Holiday Inn Express which was so much better and was the same price for the remaining 2 nights we were staying. I'm not sure how this hotel has such good ratings. Maybe most people just don't have very high expectations when they are spending their hard earned money or maybe they're just dirty and used to things being broken?

We were passing through with family. The front office staff were not at all friendly or helpful. The pool was by appointment only, all booked up, and the hot tub was the same way. When traveling with kids, a pool and a hot tub is the highlight of the hotel stay. Paying extra for this, and not able to use it is discouraging. Centrally located around everything.

I rented a room for a birthday night out with my husband. I specifically chose this hotel because the pictures looked beautifull, and was willing to pay $230 for a nice night out. When we checked in we went to the room and i was very dissapointed. The carpet was worn, and the jetted tub was dirty. I called the front desk and was told "the rooms are clean, and we do our best. We plan to update the rooms." I was offered that I could leave at that point. I was appalled at the response but didn't have many options. I had a babysitter, and it was my Husband's only day off work for the week, and we have dinner reservations next to the hotel, it had taken me time to put this together and I didn't have many options. I have called and requested that the manager call me back but have not heard anything. I would like to add that I have stayed at many Best Western throughout California and have never had to complain about anything. I typically have a great experience and the staff it typically very accommodating and polite. At this point I would have felt better spending my money elsewhere and have no plans of ever returning to this particular Best Western.

We had high hopes when I booked here based on the good reviews. Location wise it was okay since we wanted to stay somewhere not too far from Cresent City (1 hr away). First, location is sketchy. We pulled up and there were some shady peeps smoking outside, not what you want to see with the kids. The staff was friendly but the gal was new. I was there for at least 15 mins trying to check in and use my gift card. The room was adequate. No housekeeping due to COVID. Refrigerator was noisy. We were above from the pool on the 3rd floor and the kids down there were so ridiculously loud. Also, no towels in the pool area. Our room had only 3 bath towels, not enough when there are 4 of us. Breakfast is grab and go. Chips, water, etc. Jimmy Dean micro sandwiches but they were out. At check out I made sure to ask about my bill due to the new gal with the gift card. It was messed up and the other gal assured me she will have her mgr fix it when they came in. This was Thursday. It is not Monday as I am writing this and still not fixed. Will try and call again for the 3rd time. Very frustrating. Overall would not stay here again, sketchy neighborhood. Not sure if there is a better area here though.

This is a particularly excellent place to stay with your pet because it has a bike trail to walk along the ELK River in the far back of the facility, great place to exercise + relieve pet. One troubling situation the pet POTTY area lies outside the edge of the hotel site. It's totally creepy at night though well lit. Next time I come I will ask SECURITY to accompany me if it's late at night. OH, also, just use the bike trail + river area during daylight. Sketchy characters show up at dusk. It's still a good place to stay though. McDonald's is next door too.

Mediocre. WiFi was terrible. Room was below average. Had to ask for towels for pool as there were none. 1/2 roll toilet paper for 5 guests is not adequate. No frills here. Mediocre service for the price. If you have to ask for plunger-don't expect it to be clean!!!!!!! Disgusting....

Enjoyed our stay, our son really enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, I enjoyed the pool house since it kept a lot of the very windy day out of the pool area. Easy check in and check out, coffee and tea available in the rooms and at the front desk. Big fridge with a freezer, which was convenient, and a microwave in the room which is why I selected the hotel. Parking is tight, especially with a baseball tournament going on. I was surprised that none of the staff were wearing masks...we did though. Overall a very nice stay.

It was our first time at this Best Western on Broadway. It is south of town and perfect for our quick departure in the morning to continue south on hwy 101. The Hotel is right next to the Bayshore Mall and many places to eat. We requested a room on the 3rd floor and were surprised to find we had a beautiful courtyard view complete a Koi pond with huge fish! Although the courtyard was not open due to covid-19, at least we had a great view! Staff were super friendly and we saw lots of people with their dogs. The night we stayed the hotel was packed, but it was very quiet. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Eureka. We have stayed at the other Best Western on 4th street and like the Bayshore Inn much better, because of the friendly staff, closeness to Mall and restaurants.

The good news: it was one of the quietest hotels I've stayed at, it was very clean, and felt safe. The bad news: The AC didn't work, we only had two towels for my family of four, the internet was very slow, and the TV selection was just local channels. I would expect this from a hotel where I was paying around $100 per night but for almost $200, the AC had better work and I shouldn't have to ask for more towels just to have enough for one per person. The internet is not a huge deal, but again, if I am paying almost $200 per night I should be able to use my cell phone and tablet for my kids without any hassle. Additionally, the front desk staff was not very warm and welcoming. They did a good job with the bare minimum but the lady at the front desk when we checked out did not ask how our stay was and when I told her about the AC, she didn't offer any apologies or discount. Great customer service could have made up for the disappointments in the amenities but they didn't even have that going for them.

I chose this hotel because it was fairly expensive compared to others in Eureka, and because some of the other options had received bad reviews due to sleaze bags in dubious neighborhoods. I guess Eureka has a lot of sleaze balls, because some of them stayed at this hotel. Someone had their pet baby elephant in the room above me, and some yahoos were yelling good natured profanities at each other in the parking lot when they weren't revving the engines of their pick-up trucks. Things settled down after 11pm. The shampoo bottle was almost empty, which makes me suspect it was re-used (not good in the COVID era.) The room furnishings were OK; the linens a bit threadbare. OK for basic shelter, but not worth $189 per night. Good Mexican restaurant next door.

We checked in at this hotel and the room we had reeked of wet dog so I asked for a non pet room and was told that all rooms are pet friendly, which is false because I saw placards in some doors that said “no pets”. However we got another room and it didn't smell like animals. Didn't use the pool and breakfast was still grab and go, which is disappointing but not hotel's fault. Would probably stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay, this is our go to place when in Eureka! Very clean, staff helpful and friendly! Close to everything needed . All the extras, i.e. breakfast, gym, hottub, swimming, made it very enjoyable!

This place is amazing so happy I found it. They have a awesome pool and spa great places to eat rooms are bigger then your standard hotel and the location is awesome for visiting and eating and shopping. Plus they are pet friendly 30.00 pet fee. Best part is you would never hear anything and my room was right next to stairs, vending and elevator. Never heard a peep.

Driving the 101 is a long old drive and we were looking for somewhere nice and easy to stop for the night. The pictures here at least don't do it justice as it's had a paint job and been revamped. At check in we asked the usual questions about rates etc and were told that if you were a Best Western club member there's a slightly lower rate and we'd get it if we signed up right then. That was a really nice touch by the desk clerk who didn't have to offer that. The room was simple but adequate, nice big heater kept us warm with no issues. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all and it's probably undersized for the amount of rooms but there was fresh stuff coming out frequently and after a small snack and coffee we were on our way. In addition, try the Mexican across from the hotel, really good margaritas after a long drive!

Sweet Valentine welcome in our room of chocolate, cider, wine glasses, decorations and card! Hot tub did not disappoint, a warm robe and cozy fireplace added to the experience! Would definitely stay again!

Chairs very uncomfortable. No desk or workstation. No tissues in room. Such bad water pressure from shower head couldn't get shampoo totally rinsed, room decor is the worse I've ever seen at any BW yet this was a plus BW. Printer in Business Center didn't have toner and staff said they didn't have a refill. Cramped parking..

Not only did the lamps have trouble going on and off. We had someone knockijg teying to enter our room at 5am. They were intoxicated and at the wrong door. Loud group night two barbequing outside. Also a very inconvenient billing issue due to thier system. Causing me issues to resolve on my own.

My two-night stay was perfect in every way. Staff were friendly and welcoming, helpful and happy. The room was fresh and clean, well appointed and relatively inexpensive. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Hot water was quick and plentiful and consistent throughout my showers. The room was quiet, well lit, but curtains made it easy to black out the room had I wanted to sleep in. I heard no neighboring room noises though the hotel appeared to be fully booked. The parking spaces were sufficiently large and numerous to allow easy access. The exterior appearance and grounds are well maintained. Like I said, it was perfect!

We were extremely pleased with our stay at BW+ Bayshore. The room was very clean, fireplace and heaters worked great, fridge was cold, water was hot, beds comfortable. Pillows were literally the only "not great" part of the room. the room wasn't even what made it such a good stay. the staff was great, there was a strong staff presence, maintenance workers, kitchen staff, cleaners etc. Garbage cans available, vending and ice machines, an elevator, nice area with dog poop bags for pets. Coming from the Bay Area, my expectations were really low for a $99/night hotel, we were so pleasantly surprised that I am actually taking the time to write this review. We had a funeral to attend so they lets us do really early check -in which was fantastic, and they honored every request, top floor, fireplace, dog, early check in.

This was my first time staying at this hotel and I must say I was very pleased with it. The staff was courteous and friendly, the room was very nice and comfortable. Their breakfast was excellent. Great selection of foods to choose from. Everything including the coffee was fresh. The only problem I had was with the satellite/TV. Most of the time the sound kept cutting out and the picture was pixelated. Could have been because of the weather though, as it was overcast and raining. Otherwise, it was great and I would definitely recommend it.

Arrived Friday afternoon 12/27. Hotel was full. Approximately 7:00p I used the bathroom. Toilet was clogged and began overflowing. When I finally got it unclogged, USING MY HAND, there were several inches of water on the floor, moving in to carpeted area of the room. Called front desk and was advised "I am the only employee working tonight and cant leave the reception area. I had to go to reception area to pick up towels and clean myself. Not what I would call customer-centric. I flagged down a housekeeper the next morning and he came and took the bathtub full of drenched towels away. The next morning I went to the reception area to get some coffee. All carafes were empty. No coffee for me. Walked over to McDonalds to get coffee.

Wow we really love the Bayshore Inn. It has such great rooms and is in a great location. The staff were so friendly and helpful! They have a great breakfast set up for guests too. We also travel with our dogs and the place is definitely pet friendly. We stayed in motels for six nights and the Bayshore Inn was by far the best.

This is the best hotel - rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is courteous and efficient, and the breakfast selection is the best. I feel the operators of this particular Best Western have high regard for their guests; I wish all hotels were like this one.

This inn is beautiful and has great customer service and amenities. The breakfast buffet was better then the average. The koi pond is beautiful and full of huge happy koi. (Please don't feed them, tho)

Best Best Western Plus - Eureka We were extremely happy with our stay at the Best Western Plus, in Eureka, CA. From the moment I walked in for my reservation, Zach on the front desk, wanted to make sure that our stay was very comfortable. The room was very nice, from the small refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker; the very clean bathroom, with the high shower head (I'm over 6 foot tall), and fast drain in the tub, to the very clean and comfortable beds (excellent sleep). And the complimentary breakfast was great, which not only had waffles and syrup, potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and sautéed bell peppers and onions, but biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, and three different breads for toast, fresh fruit cocktail and fresh apples, oranges, and bananas, and off course yogurt, and boiled eggs. There was four different coffees and hot water for tea and hot chocolate. There was bottled water, cookies, chips, and energy bars for the road. I will return to this motel again.

Warm welcome, transfer from airport, close to Little Italy for great food, wonderful buffet breakfast superior to most morning meals in this country. Promo transport to cruise pier. Next time I San Diego we will be sure to stay here. You

Bad choice coming here. We booked a room on their own website. They gave us a two bed room even though we're a couple. They said they couldn't change it because we booked on a third party site which we didn't. The room had a weird smell from the carpet which was a combination of dirty/disgusting and cleaning material. The breakfast was pretty bad. Not worth the added cost of staying here. A nice woman working there, though. The pool was pretty nice.

This is a very nice location we are traveling to Arkansas and this was one of the nicer Best western hotels the showers could have been hotter but not unbearable . The security is great we had a UHaul and they made sure it was safe for the night

This Hotel was awesome from the check in to checkout! The whole hotel was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety and well stocked! Will stop here again next time we are coming through!

The Inn was recently remodeled and they did a great job! The grounds were very enjoyable with a pond with very large Koi fish! We enjoyed the wonderful hot tub by ourselves! The Inn was within 1/2 block to the beach.

Nothing but trouble at this hotel. We booked a suite with a king bed and two queen beds. When we arrived it was not available. We booked with hotels.com. We were told we should have booked directly with the hotel. We got a suite with three queens. The photos on their web site do not match reality. There was no tv in the bedroom. Sorry corporate didnt buy enough TVs. We were there for two days. Both days our room was not made up or towels changed. The room was very tired and worn out. Hot water took forever to get and didn't last long. The breakfast was less then normal, cold and out of many items. This hotel was more Motel 6 than Best Western. We moved to the Value Inn and it was by far better. Some front desk staff were helpful, others not very much. Very, very disappointing stay. Go elsewhere.

Had a very nice stay for the weekend. Parking is tight even in a small car. Multiple hot tubs were great. Sauna is being converted to changing room which sucked. Two good restaurants at back and front of hotel. Next to shopping and short distance to beach and red woods.

Spent the night in Eureka to shop and enjoy some leisure time. Very pleasant experience and the room was spacious and comfortable. I felt very safe as a senior lady traveling on her own. Will stay again.

Needed a place to stay one night for a last minute trip. The hotel was easy to find, quick to check in and check out. The room was nice, though a bit plain. A couple doors were not in service do to some construction. Wifi was not great, but that would be the only real issue I had during my stay. Room was comfortable and quiet.

Our stay here was very nice and the breakfast was really good. We stayed in a King with a jacuzzi and fireplace which I think we got upgraded to. Honestly I don't really consider that much of an upgrade but the women who checked us in (I believe she was the manager) was very nice and helpful. Everything was clean and when we left a note for the cleaning staff asking for extra towels/conditioner they more than accommodated which was very much appreciated! Bed was comfortable as well. Only negative I would add is that the rooms were very dark, could use a little updating.

Great location. Breakfast was AMAZING. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again. Only thing that would make a 5 all around is the room need a little updating. Jacuzzi tub was definitely worth the few extra dollars to relax in your room.

On a trip with friends we stayed in Eureka and found a great place to stay. I was most impressed with the staff and their friendly helpful attitude. Th rooms are well appointed, and the breakfast was more than good. Great selection and all fresh and appetising

The location was good and the free breakfast was very good with many choices. The room was comfortable but was dark and very dated. The carpets were heavily stained and worn, should have been replaced years ago. The bathroom door was was heavily damaged and patched with Spackle. Looks like a 5 yr old could have done a better job.

I've stayed here many times and always given the Bayshore Inn a 5 Star review. I still love the breakfast, way above average and I'll stay here again next year. However, this year the heat in our room didn't work. We didn't notice till the middle of the night. By morning the room was really cold. I called the front dest and found out maintenance doesn't get in till 8:30 on Sundays. So, we hung out in the breakfast room till 8:30. 2 maintenance men came by, but the unit needed a fuse, which they didn't have. So, no heat for us. 11:00 This was not the morning we had planned. I know this sort of thing can happen. I thought I should have been offered some sort of discount. But, I wasn't. I thought about a 2 star rating, but the rest of the place is so nice, I just couldn't do that.

Great sized rooms- we had a King with Jacuzzi Hot Tub and it was huge with side views of the bay. (Amazing sunset) Also included another bath tub in the bathroom which was very welcome. Facilities like the pool looked nice though we didn't use them. The property seems well kept, parking was plentiful and the staff on reception were welcoming and warm. Let down a little by the breakfast which was poor quality, (we went elsewhere in the end even though it was included) but the coffee was very drinkable- even the decaff. Would book again if passing through.

When on road trips we mostly stay at Best Westerns. They're affordable, we get breakfast, a nice, clean room and they seem to be in many towns/cities. Of all the Best Westerns we've been in, this one was the BEST!! The courtyard with a pool, hot tub and Koi pond was beautiful and relaxing after a long day of driving. Our room had a view of the bay and it was very clean. My husband's favorite was a pancake maker! The staff was welcoming, friendly and attentive to details. This is a perfect jumping off place to visit the Redwoods. Next time we'll stay longer and enjoy the area more thoroughly. You can't beat the ocean and the Redwoods!

We stayed at the Bayshore Inn for 3 nights while visiting out college aged granddaughter. The building and grounds were very impressive. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable, and the room was very quiet at night. We had driven for 6+ hours and were ready for a good sleep.

This was the BEST breakfast we have had at any hotel. We try to always stay at Best Westerns and this one was top notch. Staff was friendly, eating area very clean and was being stocked continually. Was happy to have self laundry service available too.

Set at the south end of Eureka, this BW+ has best access for touring the area. We booked 2 nights with king bed standard room with fireplace in Garden Wing and found a good size room and good size bathroom overlooking the Koi pond and the outdoor Spa. There is an indoor/outdoor pool/spa and decent business center in separate buildings. Plenty of buffet choices for breakfast and there are two restaurants next door offering 10% discount rates for Best Western Plus for lunch or dinner plus a Food Court in the Mall next door. Next time we will try the Bayview rooms with the patio door in the balcony room. Our 3rd floor room was very warm and stuffy and internet access very very spotty, be prepared to hotspot tether your cell phone. The indoor pool is actually a half-covered patio (so it is indoor/outdoor) and there is a good size exercise room and possibly a sauna but it was closed during our visit. The Bay is one block away and there is a great pedestrian pathway! Bit sketchy area so don't let the kids wander alone. Sunsets are awesome!

As we drove into Eureka we were a bit concerned. Pretty run down town. Best Western looked good when pulled in. Great staff checking in. Very pleased with how quiet the rooms were. Didn't hear the road noise. A very relaxing stay. Breakfast was typical. Would stay here again.

Our fireplace was broken. Our thermostat was also broken. It was a chilly weekend on the coast and it was a good thing we brought blankets from home. The maintenance man tried to fix the thermostat but could not and said the fireplace was “supposed” to be repaired but hadn't been.

I've always stayed here when traveling to Eureka and been happy. I don't know what changed but it's not the same. On arrival, I was told I couldn't have the room I reserved because they overbooked. Not cool. After some discussion, I was able to get the room I asked for and I thought everything was okay. Slept well and went to grab a quick breakfast before hitting the road. The only thing that was edible was the scrambled eggs. Hint Best Western, raw bacon is not only inedible, it's dangerous! I've shunned Best Western as a brand and this was the only one I would stay at. For a $190 stay, they could at least make an effort with the breakfast.......

A little pricey but nice room. We were put in a freshly painted room with a broken AC the first night, it was a miserable night. No apologies from anyone regarding that bad room. We got moved the second night and all was good after that.

There are two Best Westerns, in Eureka. This one is on the way out of town (heading south), but still a 5 min. drive to downtown Eureka. It looks fancy from the pictures. And, it does have a nice garden area, with an outdoor hot tub. We used the other hot tub, by the semi-indoor pool. The jets on that were funky, but it was closer to our room. It was just my wife and I and we stayed just the night, but the room was big enough, clean, and the shower had hot water and good pressure. No complaints. We

We have found consistency when we stay at Best Western. The rooms are always clean, well organized and comfortable. It is nice to know our stay will be a good one. It is also nice that there is a Best Western at most locations we go to.

Very accommodating front desk people, lovely courtyard with a special koi pond with lily pads. Close to a walking path along the water. Would definitely stay here again!! Be sure to check out the Tres Chiles Picosos Restaurant next door affiliated with the hotel.

We stayed at the Bayshore Inn for one night on the way up the coast. Check in was easy. Our room was adequate for what we paid and expected. At least it had a refrigerator and microwave. Parking lot is crowded, so be careful. The breakfast was atrocious, packed room with no hot food. We asked the front desk for some help and they told us someone would be coming soon. After 10 minutes we left! The hotel was full, so why can't they plan on a rush at popular breakfast times?

We came to play in the redwoods and on the beach. Our stay at the Best Western was fantastic everyone that worked there was always smiling and friendly and eager to help us we will be back for sure very quiet clean and comfortable

Pulled over and got a decent room for a decent price. Traveling all day, the room was spacious, clean and fairly newer. Floor level room, it was close to the pool area which was a bit noisy but not objectionable. Weird fireplace in room for ambiance, it was not used. Clean bathroom. Two associated restaurants with the hotel, one mexican and one steak house, the Mexican one was tasty, affordable and friendly. And you get 10% discount for staying at this hotel. Continental breakfast was a bit lacking. Eggs were awful, potatoes ok, bagel stale, and bacon too thin and not very bacon tasting. Waffle was decent. Coffee was not very strong. I would not eat there again. But it is in the cost of the room. Still wouldn't eat there again.

In this little town, there aren't a lot of options but I was very happy to choose this location. The hotel is a little older but is well maintained, we got a room with a whirlpool tub and it worked perfectly and was immaculately clean. Worth every penny!

The first night the hotel caught on fire. We were not aware if it was a false alarm or not for about an hour and a half. Hotel staff did not call the fire department and advised us that we did not need to evacuate they were on it. After about an hour or so of the fire alarm we called down to the front desk to ask if they were certain we did not need to evacuate. They said maybe we would have to and placed us on hold. They didn't get back to me. It was the firefighters outside my door that alerted me it was time to go. The power went out and there was no fire lighting so we made our way down the stairs in the dark. One of us nearly got pushed down the stairs. The staff in parking lot said to meet at lobby they would be taking us to another hotel but nobody was at the lobby. We decided to leave ourselves and book another hotel for the night. Called Best Western to let them know we were okay and made it out. They were only concerned with trying to book us a future stay at Best Western. The hotel luckily only had damages in one part of it so we went back to finish our stay since it was already paid for. The new room we were given was a fireplace room but the fireplace did not work. The staff seemed aghast we would even suggest that it wasn't working but also they didn't care and they weren't going to do anything about it even if it was not working. Just go somewhere else!

Nice motel, with interior courtyard for guests, fast and reliable WiFi, good breakfast with ample seating, beds were comfortable and room clean, quiet and inviting, good water pressure for showers; staff promptly replaced a loud, irritating bathroom fan during our visit when it was brought to their attention. Convenient location on the NoCal coast between Humbolt State Park and other state and National Redwood Parks.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Charles at the front desk went out of his way to tell us about local hikes. The woman who runs the breakfast room is a dynamo. Beds were comfortable. Property was clean and pleasant. Off the property, however, we encountered rampant homelessness with accompanying trash. Think twice about visiting Eureka till they address the homeless and crime problems.

Great location with several opportunities to enjoy your stay. The remodel that was just completed last year was outside cosmetic upgrades I believe as the room mattress I had for this visit should have been thrown out years ago. Check the beforoom mattress, don't assume it's good to go. This visit reminded me when I was young staying at a 39 dollar hotel. Good luck getting asked how your visit was, the staff were not pleasant. Don't know what changed here as I have stayed here several times in the past but clearly management has a quality control and staff development issue that hopefully is addressed.

Has really gone down hill. No service culture at all. I had to check out early because the room smelled like a wet dog. TV remote did not work. Neither did its replacement. No security on the windows, I was afraid to leave the window open for some fresh air. I was on the first floor. Carpet was so dirty my socks turned black.

This hotel has been rennovated since our last stay and the improvements are great. Spacious, updated breakfast area, lobby and fitness center. We appreciate how quiet this hotel is at night even when pretty full and off of Hwy 101. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Love the garden area with koi pond and spa. Very relaxing.

The hotel was easy to find and conveniently located. Checkin went quickly and the clerk was very nice. The room was older but very spacious and clean. The biggest problem was there were only 3 bath towels for 3 guests and no pool towels. The front desk wouldn't answer the phone so we had to go find housekeeping for extra towels. Also the indoor pool closed at 9pm. This was a Friday night in the summer with a full house. Way too early for a pool to close. The staff were very nice.

We stayed here one night. The first room smelled like wet dogs. It was so bad we could hardly breathe. The room had carpet and we were told that because Eureka has damp air most of the time, it never seems to dry out. (it is obvious they should not have carpeted rooms.) We asked to be moved. They did not have a single room in the hotel that was pet-free. The second room was better, but still smelled. I gave two stars because the staff was very nice, but I stay in a hotel because they have clean rooms, not because the front desk is nice.

however, it appears that I went back in time... really need renovation; for example, still has the old fashion loud airconditioning unit with controls in the unit instead of on the wall. We chose to keep our windows open.

Rooms are good, and as expected for a BW Plus lodging. Nice clean and good size room Parking can be a challenge, as the lot is small. Breakfast area remodel is complete, the breakfasts were very good. Eggs, Potatoes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, etc...

My wife and I wanted to get out of town escaping the heat for a couple days. Kids stayed at home with grandma so I reserved the king bed with jacuzzi tub room. Check in was busy as the hotel was fully booked for the weekend. The room was huge and had a nice balcony. Room was very clean. The hotel grounds were very nice and there was a lovely koi pond. Only downside was the hot water situation. There wasn't enough hot water to fill the jacuzzi tub Friday evening. I ended up taking a lukewarm bordering on cold showers Friday night and Saturday morning. I spoke with the staff and they said that happens when the hotel is full. I adjusted when I showered (later than normal) and all was fine. We ate at Shamus T. Bones which is next to the hotel and if you show your room key you get a discount. Decent place. The area felt safe even though there is a sizable transient population in Eureka. We didn't have any issues and used the back hotel parking lot. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Good quick easy Check in, nice large room, clean, fresh, with usual motel facilities, large bathroom, a very good hotel well run. The breakfast was very good and staff very friendly, helpful and informative.

The Inn is a good place to stay if you are exploring the Redwood NP, the coast, Humboldt Bay and State Park and the historical areas (US Grant was stationed here). We stayed 4 nights. The Inn was, it turned out, pet friendly, so when we wanted a pet free room we got bumped to a second floor room (guess we needed the exercise). In the heat of summer (July 2018) there was the usual whiff of dog poo from grass areas surrounding the Inn. We initially booked our accommodation using a Cash Card, but discovered that this was not acceptable when we fronted to the desk and had to go to a bank, withdraw cash from the card, then return and pay the whole amount and then wait while the Inn returned our deposit. I think Best Western has a lot of work to do on how it handles its customers and making clear what they can expect. Breakfast was in a dinning room and there were plenty of restaurants at which to have an evening meal.

No cold water in sink or shower morning or night. Flashing light on phone showing a message. The phone would not allow me to hear a message or delete the message to get the phone to shut off. Annoying for numerous reasons, the light was distracting at night, and we were concerned...what if someone left us a message and we did not know/could not retrieve it. Hotel phones are our emergency back up when we travel. I phoned the receptionist and she said to unplug and re-plug the phone back in and it would reset, this did not work. This should be taken care of at time of cleaning between guests. It was very warm/humid in the room despite setting the temperature to 69 degrees with attempt to cool the room off. +Fridge in room with small freezer for ice pack +Table with chairs in room -Was not asked at check out about our stay. Pet friendly is fine if you have a pet...but we do not and our room smelled strongly of a wet dog. Not pleasant.

Clean and quiet. No issues. Stayed for 1 night. Good location right in town. Bathroom clean. No hot breakfast. Continental only. Check in and out quick and easy. If you don't have pets, be sure to let them know you do not want a pet friendly room.

Indoor pool is not "indoor" it is half out and half in, and was too cold to go swimming. Breakfast was not hot, you had to take it to your room to heat up breakfast sandwiches or oatmeal. Service was good as they offered suggestions for dinner.

The good: room was clean; bed comfortable; adequate appointments. The bad: "squatty potty" and round - not acceptable when there was plenty of room for a full-size extended bowl; "breakfast" was do it yourself heat up food in a microwave - yes just one microwave for an entire hotel to heat up our own burritos from a package after you wait in line for several guests ahead of you and only one toaster for the entire hotel to toast a small selection of bread products. And only one person to keep up the entire place at the busiest time because another worker was elsewhere??? To the front desk staff's credit they did issue us 15% off of our bill since they aren't fully operational for serving breakfast but we were not notified ahead if time and we paid $150 for the room. We had higher expectations for a typical BW Plus facility.

Modern decor, plush bed, roomy and nice. Vending and food easily accessible. Mall across the street and parking for campers on street adjacent to hotel. Coi pond was cool and equipped w little frogs for a soothing melody.

This hotel is conveniently located near the shopping and restaurant area of Eureka. It is everything that you expect from a Best Western including great beds, good Wi-Fi, friendly staff and a good breakfast.

We travel cross country with our 2 small dogs about once a year to visit family in Oregon. We always return to the east coast by driving down the Oregon and California Coast. We always stop in Eureka and stay at this hotel. We have always found it very comfortable and convenient. They are in the process of doing some renovations. I think it will be a nice improvement. The rooms are pretty large, comfortable, and clean. Nice comfortable beds with lots of pillows (that's important to me!). Nice amenities in the bathroom. The area for walking the dogs is on a side street. It's a long grassy area with dog bags provided in case you forget. I have to say, it is not a spot I like to go at night alone. As I said, renovations are going on, so the area where they have served breakfast in the past wasn't available, so it was moved to a conference room. It was nice but not what they usually serve, but I'm sure as soon as renovations are complete everything will be wonderful. Staff is always nice and helpful. We had asked for a room on the first floor and they had us on the second floor. We asked to be changed, and they moved us to a first floor room. Very nice!! We will return to this hotel and we recommend it.

Room was clean and bed comfortable. Beautiful garden in the center of the property. We asked for a garden view but got a room on the bottom floor at the corner of the garden. Hard to enjoy the garden. Upper floor rooms probably have a nice view if you pay for a garden view room. The hotel was having their front lobby and breakfast area remodeled. Check in was very slow, and a long line of people checking in. Front desk employees were using a new computer system and check in was in a room off to the side of building. Breakfast was served in an upstairs banquet room and they served only cold food because the preparers had no kitchen to cook hot food. Nice hotel but remodeling made the stay less than great. I wish we had known about the remodeling before I booked this hotel. Would have found another place to stay. Check to see if they are done with their updates to the front lobby and breakfast area before you book.

The room I was provided had an incredibly musty smell. Went back to the check-in clerk who quickly gave me another room that was not as smelly. After three hours of airing out, it smelled fine. This situation must be seen in its context: Eureka is often bathed in fog, making it hard to keep the musty smell under control. The evening and morning check-in staff were exceptionally helpful. Amenities in the room included a working gas fireplace and a jacuzzi tub in addition to a shower!

The rooms are outdated and need updating badly. The carpets and blankets were dirty. The towels were perhaps the smallest I have ever seen. The beds were too soft for my liking. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast wasn't great but understand they are remodelling the lobby and breakfast area during out stay. I really don't understand all the four and five star reviews. I stay at BW all over the country and this was the dirtiest room I have ever encountered.

Request a garden view room, the sounds of frogs was AMAZING at night in the garden. Great location! Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Convenient location. Only downfall was the walk along waterfront had many homeless a d their waste.

I stay at this place every year during Memorial Day weekend. Normally it's a decent place. This time not so much. Dining area and lobby were under conconstruction so they didnt have their full breakfast, just cold cereal and microwave breakfast sandwiches. Only 1 microwave so things backed up. No warning of this in advance. New computer system didn't allow for smooth check in or out. The promised hot tub was drained. Bathroom smelled of mold. Not sure I will be back to this location again.

This hotel is under renovation (not disclosed when making a on line reservation). The breakfast was very limited and not up to the usual standards of a Best Western. The rooms in this BW+ which are not being renovated do not seem be different than a standard Best Western. The staff didn't seem to care about the situation. When checking out not even a thank you was offered

The Best Western Hotel in Eureka is a very friendly place to stay. The employees were very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay more pleasant. The rooms were very clean and quiet. We will book a room in this Hotel during our next visit to Eureka.

Because of college graduation during our stay , the hotel rate was about 3 time the normal. otherwise the hotel was above normal for a Best Western. Breakfast was at a nearby restaurent. Checkin was'nt till 4;00.

Excellent stay. Clean and convenient. The staff was prepared for high volume during Humboldt graduation and handled it efficiently. Breakfast was very good, with a wide range of hours and good quality food.

I was passing through the area with my daughter and needed a place for an overnight stay. Reading reviews I booked a reservation here. I cannot begin to explain how much of a mistake that was. There was a remodeling of the lobby happening and that's where the trouble began. The makeshift lobby was small and clearly ill equipped to handle the business. I literally stood in line for an hour to get checked in. Twenty five minutes of that was spent standing outside in the cold, wind and actual rain along with five or six people behind me. Once at the desk there was no offering of explanation or expressed acknowledgement of what was happening; nothing. The room was ok, but had dirty pillows. The TV only had some channels working. Tried calling the front desk....there was NEVER an answer no matter how many times I tried. Calling this property a Best Western Plus should be considered an embarrassment by the parent company. The likelihood of me using any Best Western property in the future is apparently the same probability that someone at this hotel cared about their customers....NONE!

The hotel had nice grounds. That is all I can say nice about this hotel. I stay in Best Western over 100 nights a year throughout the West Coast. The room was dirty, the restroom was dirty, the carpet was old. This was an upgrade from standard Kink (loyalty program) I hate to see what a normal King room is like. There was no remote for the TV. Let the front desk know and they sent someone up 45 minutes later. Then the person looked around the room for the remote and could not find it. Left and came back 20 minutes later. The carpet was old and dirty. The second day the main cleaned room, but forgot to clean. The room looked like it was cleaned and made up by a 10 year old. My overall for this hotel is a 2 and should be removed from the "Best Western Hotel Chain" I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN NEVER NEVER NEVER

We drove up from San Francisco with the sole purpose of seeing the giant trees. the drive didn't disappoint. We used the next day to travel further north and see more of the trees. Currently breakfast is being served in a conference room while the hotel undergoes renovation. Breakfast was either cold cereal or microwave sandwiches.

Stayed for two nights while visiting Redwoods National Park. It was a great location, less than an hour to the park and the hotel was easy to find. The room was quiet, we were on the third floor. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best with breakfast burritos and waffles. So good. Didn't have much interaction with the staff, but would definitely recommend.

People were fantastic. Room was neat and clean. Parking was good. Pacific beach was across the street. Great value. Town is beautiful. Eating options were good. I would stay here again. It was easy to find after a long day of driving.

We were very pleased with the Jacuzzi room we had - everything worked great! We had a nice view of the koi pond in the garden area. Overall the beds were comfy, room clean and everything in good working order. There are some renovations going on right now (Mid-April, 2019) so be prepared for that. The price was excellent, however. The front desk attendant was very helpful in recommending an excellent close-by Mexican restaurant (that also happened to give a discount to hotel guests!). Better wi-fi than some other hotels. The only thing a little disappointing was a little less-choice in breakfast items compared to some other Best Western Plus locations we've stayed at. But everything else is an excellent value!

I stayed at this property recently and was disappointing that they did not assign the room in preference. Diamond level status doesn't matter they are just carrying the franchise' name. They also took away the business center that the previous owner use to have for the customers use: I gave a deserved rating on their survey; the GM's defensive rhetoric was disposed of...all together missing the point of customer appreciation, loyalty to the brand and customer services. This hotel needs all the rooms renovated...gutted out with quality beds, furniture, restrooms and rugs. I also looked at their rates for this upcoming summer and paying 200.00 per day is just overall price gouging. For this price you can shop around for better quality and well served hotels or BNB. Customers spend your hard earned monies where quality and care prevails. More than that, why allow corporations run all over the customers, if you have troubles just write a complaint to Consumer Affairs that's what they are there for to help find a resolution to grievances.

There was jack hammering actively occouring behind the front desk staff. Breakfast being served in a conference room is less than optimal. Hot tub is out of order and no shampoo/body wash in the dispensers.

This hotel is under renovations. Lobby is a make shift room but well staffed. Indoor hot tub not working and empty. Outdoor hot tub in a different section of hotel from our room and didn't use. The pool is a half indoor and half outdoor but my son said it was somewhat warm. Our room was a two room suite on the ground floor with cars parked right out front. We were woke up at 5:30 am to a Harley Davidson motorcycle starting up right outside our front door. The remote to the tv was either low on battery power or just had a attitude and didn't work very well. The shampoo and body wash dispensers in the bathtub were empty and had to resort to using a bar of soap to wash my hair. When I informed the front desk at check out, their explanation that they are in the process of changing companies and that was why they were empty. Wish I knew that before I took a shower as I would have ran down the street to Walmart for a travel shampoo. The room did not have a hairdryer but one was delivered within five minutes after calling the front desk. Great location and the room was large. It will be a great hotel once the renovations are complete and we will return.

Having stayed in hundreds of hotels, I have to say this is one of the most unique ones I've ever stayed in. I got one of the garden rooms, which I found out was way in the back, through a special door. The rooms are nice and spacious here but I've been in Best Western properties with better furnishings. The television in my room was incredibly dark and there was not a way to adjust the brightness. In addition some of the channels didn't come on or were spotty when they did. It wasn't a huge issue but enough to annoy me for sure. The hotel is a short walk to a couple restaurants and to a nice view of the water so that was nice. As many others mentioned, they are remodeling so there is not a breakfast option or a real lobby. One more thing to note: The Frogs! There were so many of them croaking through the night in the garden area. Thankfully I was able to drown out the noise but it could be an issue for light sleepers.

We stayed here with our 3 kids March 23-25th in a 2 room suite. Since they are remodeling the check-in is in a make-shift lobby. They were kind upon check-in. I was worried before heading to my room because at the time I was checking in 2 other guests were in there asking to be switched to other rooms because of the smell of smoke or animals. When I reserved online I saw that it was a pet friendly hotel and in the additional comments asked that my room be deep cleaned as my kids have athsma. I was told to put those comments in by customer service when I called. When we entered the room I was delighted that there was absolutely no smell. Not sure if they deep cleaned or just gave me a very clean room. Either way I was happy. Joining back room had a door that closed off from the other with a bed, side tables and TV. Not big but helped to separate us from our kids. The room was large with 2 queen beds, large TV, frig, microwave, desk and bathroom. It was the perfect start to our vacation. The 2 dissapointing aspects were the breakfast and no hot tub. The breakfast was free and served in their conference room. Probably due to the fact they had no kitchen to prepare anything in, your choices were packaged breakfast burritos or packaged biscuit and sausage, fruit, cereal and yogurt. Very sad for a glutin free diet. I was expecting a nice hot breakfast like all the other Best Westerns I have stayed at. Too. Bad they don't give you a heads up at the time of your reservation. But I guess it was free and I shouldn't complain. My kids liked it and we went to Good Harvest Cafe for a good breakfast. The pool is heated and mostly outside. The kids had fun but it is only open till 9pm, which was the earliest time I have ever encountered at a hotel. The hot tub was drained. Sad, I was looking forward to watching my kids play in the pool from a warm place. I would probably check out another hotel in that city next time if thy had a 2 bedroom suite and free breakfast and a pool and hot tub, but if not we could come back here again since the room was soo nice. It's hard to find something like that for 2 parents and 3 teens.

Stayed two nights...came in at 12:45 am and the staff was friendly, and helpful. Room was nice and the location was great. The breakfast room was being remodeled so there was a limited selection, but the staff was very upfront about that when we checked in. Would stay there again!

I am hoping through their remodel process that they lower the beds in the handicap rooms. They should be about 4-5" lower as I had to get the step stool from my car to get into bed. I am 5'4" tall and requested and received a handicap room, but the bed was too tall for me to get into without that step.

Favorite place to stay in Eureka, CA. Nice rooms, nice staff. Only issue I have is they are currently remodeling the reception area which incluseds the breakfast area as well. Temporary breakfast area in conference area... no so good. cold cereal and microwave fare. uuurghh. The coffee is still good. Remodel is supposed to take until into May. So bare that in mind.

I will be definitely coming back here to stay at this hotel. Staff is very polite and courteous and in happy spirits. I've been coming to this hotel for quite some time and I can honestly say I've never had any issues.

We literally fell into our king bed ( room #149) and felt we were about to have the best sleep we have encountered in 3 months. It was heaven. Nice jacuzzi and bed. Very quiet room even though we were next to the road. Close to the beach for a morning walk. Unfortunately they are under renovations so no hot breakfast but they did serve a continental breakfast. We wish we had been able to stay longer. We will be back for sure.

I was not expecting too much as this was a one-night stay breaking up a long drive from Oregon/Washington to So. Cal. -- was hoping for a quiet evening to rest up and relax. Unfortunately, this was about the worst stay at a hotel that I have ever experienced. This is a "Plus" BW but, in my opinion, does not even meet the standards of a regular BW (all of my stays at other BW hotels have been fine and, on occasion, an exceptional experience). This is the lowest rating, by far, that I have ever given for a hotel stay. The check-in staff were quite nice but little did I know that this would be the high point of my stay. My room, a suite, was dirty, holes in interior doors, shower leaking inside the wall, very uncomfortable bed and absolutely horrible insulation to outside and next door room. Diesel trucks (both pickups on the property and big-rigs on the street) had their engines on, and revving, for hours on end beginning before 4:00 am, and the window and doors provided little insulation from the noise. Unrelated, the room had an awful odor, towel racks that fell off the wall when I placed a towel on them and pretty much everything was on the fritz (from lights, a telephone message blinking lights that could not be turned off, etc.). While the outside of the hotel looked nice enough, it was very unappealing inside and in any event, not close to being worth a very expensive mid-week rate. I know that my reviews may be in contrast to most, but I had truly an awful hotel experience.

I've never been in a hotel as clean as this one. The room I stayed in looked freshly painted. The base boards were spotless. The parking was a little cramped but that is my Only complaint. Everything else was perfect! I wouldn't go anywhere else!

We had a giant room with a whirlpool tub and a fireplace (very fake, but still fun). Breakfast had a lot of options. Everything was clean and quiet. It's a short walk to the bay. Good value for what we paid on the hotel's site.

First, the facility looks pretty good. It's in nice condition for the most part and is clean. Pool and hot tub areas look nice and are really kept up. Koi pond is impressive with several large Koi in it. There is quite a bit of shopping and several restaurants close by. That said, we had to cool our heels for a couple hours past check in time before our room was ready. The excuse from the front desk staff was a brusk "we were busy last night". After first being told to come back in 20 minutes, giving them 45 minutes before trying again, then being told another hour was needed and to try then was kind of a put-off after a long days drive. It's curious that the lady in front of us was initially told that she also had to wait for her room, but when she told them she was a rewards member and would complain, suddenly her room was ready. Our room was clean and in fairly good condition. The bathroom doors are nearly inoperable due to dragging on the carpet. This is easily curable by a maintenance person with a saw shortening the doors to clear and it's hard to understand why it's allowed to continue. The rooms "fireplace" is an electric faux fireplace like you get from Costco. Like the title says, the place gets an "average", but I really think it has the potential to be better.

The building could use a face lift. The staff is really friendly. The location is good. The room was nice the bed was okay and the blankets needed to be replaced, they weren't dirty just worn. In room fireplace was pretty cool. And breakfast was pretty decent.

This was my first stay at the Best WesternPlus Humboldt Bay and it was great! The hotel was clean, staff friendly, and the Oasis sitting area and pool is awesome! They'll even give you a free ride to dinner in their limousine. I will definitely be staying there again!

I have stayed here many times before with very positive results. This time was the worst hotel experience in a long long time. I was staying one night here, had to be a work at 7PM. After a 5 hour drive I went to check in at 3PM. The room was not ready, but I was told it will be ready in 20 minutes. No Problem, so I checked back in about 30-45 minutes. Still not ready. Told another 30 minutes. By then it was nearly 5PM and I still had to clean up and get ready for work. The clerk informed me that the room was still not available. I requested that I would take any room that was available, but was told nothing is available yet. It was after 6PM before they finally had a room available for me. (I made the reservations about a month in advance) . The next day I tried to explain it to the manager, who was very condescending and seemed to have no feeling of sympathy or remorse. I was just told that the housekeeping staff was very behind. Dealing with her was the most disappointing part of it all. I will never stay here again. The treatment was horrible.

This is my favorite hotel to stay at when I'm in Eureka, the location is close to all services, excellent eating establishment within walking distance, it's one of the cleanest and well maintained properties that I stay at.

Nice ambience, got to hear frogs croaking in the distance, was kinda cool. Friendly service, clean and nice throughout, comfy and quiet night's rest, good breakfast in the am, close to a couple restaurants.

With advanced booking, got a two-room suite with 3 queen beds for under $100 per night for a 3-night stay. Our suite was very clean and beds were great. On the first night the heater in one room wasn't working right and the next morning the shower drained VEEERRRRYYYY slowly, but as we left for the day we told the front desk about these issues and both were fixed by the time we returned that evening. My sons, who had a different room, complained that the breakfast was "not as good as before" (on previous stays), but as I recall, it was EXACTLY the same as before, except that they kept running out of things. I believe the holiday crowd took them by surprise, but they do need to get a handle on this, prepping bigger batches of food at one time when it is busy. They could also use two waffle irons instead of just one. On each of the days, I had to wait and go back for one or more breakfast items I wanted. To be fair, though, there were also guests eating a full breakfast and then stacking two or three plates and bowls with bacon, eggs and pastries to take back to their rooms, along with containers of yogurt, fruit and cereal cups. They MAY have had kids back in the room, but to my mind they were stealing lunch from the hotel! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone spending a night (or a few) in Eureka. Extra note: Unusually good selection of snacks and drinks in vending machines.

This hotel is very well managed. The staff all around are very helpful and efficient. We travel with our Dachshunds. Traveling with them can be a challenge. We stay here when in Eureka because the people help make it easy and because it is a very cozy place to be. Also, everything you may need is very close by. We also like the Shamus next door for take out meals.

Got a good advanced rate on a Whirlpool Tub/King room which kept it under $100/night which was well worth it for the space and comfort you were getting. I did like the fitness room that did have a TV and treadmill and did use the fitness room.A few minor issues, but not enough to affect the rating I'm giving this review. I would highly recommend the property to anyone passing through Eureka, CA.

Good location free Wi-Fi and parking. Free hot buffet breakfast. BUT, sheets were stained. Soap, toilet paper, and drinking glasses not cleaned or replaced daily. They need new standards for room cleaning. Front office staff quite friendly.

The hotel was amazing. the rooms were clean as well as the grounds and the lobby. A full breakfast was included with my stay, which was very delicious. The staff were very informative, dressed professional, and welcoming.

I just became primary caregiver of a friend who lost everything in the Camp fire and also has brain cancer,I asked for a ground floor room but was not told it was also pet friendly,I'm allergic and when we walked in we could both smell dog and my eyes were very itchy the next day. But overall it was a good stay

This was my first visit to Eureka. The hotel was clean and had a great breakfast that was included. We were close to restaurants (next door to a Mexican food restaurant and on the other side was a steak and sea food. Shopping was next door and all of these places were within walking distance. I hope to go back when I am not working with time to snoop.

Stayed 2 nights for our Eureka Redwoods trip. The Hotel staff was friendly food was good and the rooms were fine . We didn't have a chance to try the pool or sauna but the looked clean as well. There are two restaurants right next door Mexican and Steakhouse. w tried the Mexican is was fine.

In eureka on a work related trip. Have stayed here before. Much better than the other Best Western hotel. Room was clean and furnished well. Hotel staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. I would stay here again.

stayed one night, room smelled musty but aired out quickly, staff very nice and helpful. morning breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. 2 types of scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit and very good gravy, fruit, 2 types of homemade waffle.

Very nice room and great price. Only down side was that the channel that the World Series was broadcasted on was blacked out at this hotel. Other than that, this stay was great! Would definitely stay here again.

I love staying at this hotel for work trips. The staff is friendly and great at what they do. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and breakfast is served early. The location is in walking distance of a restaurants and stores.

Unfortunately, the arrival began poorly. I was not offered a room key, and I failed to ask for one (my bad). The room we were given had not been cleaned. We were promptly offered another room to our satisfaction. Room was large and bed comfortable. The bathroom was of adequate size and clean.Overall the room was quite satisfactory. I will add that this facility is one block away from picturesque Humbolt Bay. There is a great paved path along the water with a lot of wildlife (particularly birds).

Stayed there in June after coming through the Redwoods. Lovely hotel----clean room, comfortable bed and close to good restaurants. Desk staff was very helpful. We would stay there again. Had a nice drive around the bayfront as well.

We were to be in the area for a family reunion and needed four rooms, one of which being pet-friendly. I booked the rooms via telephone direct to the hotel, as required for booking a pet-friendly room. "Jason" assisted me with the booking and was extremely helpful, even suggesting alternatives to save money. In the end we reserved four double queen rooms. Check in is listed as 4 PM, and they hold fairly tight to this schedule--we arrived at 2 PM so we took a quick tour around the area. Upon return we were allowed to book in at 3:45. Coincidentally, Jason also checked us in at the hotel--he is very helpful and friendly. We were provided rooms 211, 212, 215 & 216. All of the rooms had the same layout and were very close, if not the same size. Rooms 215 & 216 had an interconnecting door while 211 & 212 did not. These rooms also look out upon the garden which is actually very pretty and well maintained. It was unseasonably warm at 74* and we appreciated that the AC worked quite well and keeping the room comfortable as the sun set on the sliding glass door to the garden balcony. We heard very little noise from the adjacent and upstairs, and we do know that they were all occupied. The hotel is also set back enough from Hwy 101 so that we heard no vehicle traffic either, although admittedly our room was not located where that would be an issue. A note about the dog potty area, it is located on a side street on the south side of the hotel. It has a nice long lawn green belt with two potty bag/trash can stands...it is great during the day but only a small portion of it is well lit at night. As with most pet areas, this one has been visited by many irresponsible/inconsiderate dog owners and there were many piles to avoid that had not been picked up. YOU FOLKS THAT DON'T PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG--YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE--ARE A-HOLES. The free buffet breakfast was better than typical with everything being hot, fresh and well stocked, even with a full dining area. There was dry cereals, fresh fruit salad that included blueberries, raspberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, and strawberries, regular and southwest style scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, turkey bacon and sausage, Greek and regular yogurts, bagels, cinnamon raisin, white & wheat breads for toasting, and a waffle maker for fresh waffles. Drinks included teas, brewed coffees in medium roast, dark roast and decaf, as well as apple & orange juice, chocolate and regular milk. Quite a nice upgrade from the continental style some hotels are offering. There is a "good" Mexican restaurant sharing the same block as the hotel that we enjoyed--portions were sizable and the food tasted fresh made. The was also a steakhouse behind the hotel that looked inviting but we did not try. McDonald's is also adjacent to the hotel. The only issue with our stay was not specific to the hotel but with Eureka in general. There is an extreme amount of vagrants, migrants, hitchhikers, backpackers in the area--I was told that it is due to the marijuana harvest season, but cannot confirm this. It was just a little unsettling to have a transient-type approach us as we "pottied" our dog at 5 AM. The dog had finished her business so they retreated to the hotel office, which was much closer than the room. There was no one at the desk but there was a woman setting up the buffet tables. The man, who was wearing a backpack, followed my wife into the buffet area, grab a cup and filled himself up a drink of something then left. At this point we think that he may be a "regular" that comes through, or the hotel staff doesn't "prohibit" non-guests from helping themselves to a refreshment. But either way it did not give my wife a feeling of security. The "night owls" notwithstanding, we would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Where do I start. I booked the "1 king bed with Fireplace and jacuzzi" for my daughter and her husband the night they got married on 10/11/18. When I went in to pay and give them the information, the rep at the desk was less than friendly, but did help in a timely matter. When my daughter and her husband arrived, they were given a key and went to the room only to find the key did not work. OK. The maintenance man came and again, the door would not open. They go back down to the lobby and were told they could be put in a room with 2 queen beds and a jacuzzi tub. This not being what they were expecting, my daughter called me pretty upset. I told her to tell them they need to give them a comparable room as that is what I booked and paid for. The representative said they did not even have such room as I booked.....???? And the comparable room or suite" is 400.00 per night. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she "was the manager" I then said I would have to go to corporate as the room I booked is, in fact, on their own web site and was no where near 400.00. (see attached photo from their website) She then told my daughter and her new husband that if that was the case, she would refuse service. Appalling to say the least. This young couple were just married and asked for nothing but to be treated as guests and instead, they were treated like garbage. This place used to be a really nice place at one time but these situations seem to be happening more and more. Stay at your own risk or better yet, stay somewhere else entirely.

Wrong keys twice, wrong room once. Woke someone up because I was given the wrong key. In my three times staying here - I would say it's vital to get a room on the second floor. If you are on the first floor you will likely hear the patron above you. Not their fault; the floors aren't very thick. Regret this stay and should have gone with the BW on the other side of town, albiet in a bit sketchier area. Not up to snuff compared to other similarly rated/priced hotel/motels in the area. Spend your $120+ elsewhere. Two stars because one star is reserved for places you should never go.

Stayed over night, excellent hotel, with many facilities, including a pool, room, spacious and clean, great night's sleep in a secure part of hotel, which was quiet and peaceful, breakfast plentiful and varied, business centre, laundry, and amazing koi carp in the pond in the garden.

We found this particular Best Western very disappointing. Our one night stay began with a surly woman at the front desk. We arrived at 3:25 PM and were told in a very unfriendly manner that we were not permitted to check into our room until 4 PM—the “official” check in time. When I told her that I would need a restroom earlier than 4 PM, she barked at me that there was one around the corner from her station (grumpiness personified!). This is a very large facility and the management does not have the cleaning staff come in to work until later in the day—so don't arrive the least bit early! This morning when I began to wash my hair in the shower, there was only about a small teaspoon of shampoo in the dispenser. Fortunately I have short hair and my husband didn't need it this morning. The “free” breakfast this morning did not offer any healthy options. Since I would have liked to have eaten something edible (other than fruit), we needed to leave the facility and have breakfast elsewhere. We do not recommend this Best Western location!

Best Westerns have really upgraded to improve their hotels. This is one of those clean and cozy places. It was a packed house when I stayed. The other hotels weren't nearly as busy. Their breakfast is Full of options. Their beds and pillows were comfortable. Good shampoo and conditioner. Nice clean cozy room. The staff here are super nice.

Check in was at 4pm and we couldn't get our keys till 4:40, which was okay since we went to beach and had a blast. The WiFi was down and the hotel staff were working on it. Our room was clean and nice. The toilet stopped working, but the staff came ASAP to fix the problem! We will be staying here again! The bed was comfortable!

First of all, this is a beautiful hotel with great access to nature walks. If it hadn't been for the service (or lack thereof) we received, I would have given the hotel 5 stars. We arrived on a Friday night for a 3-night stay. When we arrived in our suite, it was clear the bathroom had not been cleaned. There were urine drops and hairs on the toilet seat, hairs in the shower, filthy cups and trash on the counter and a used soap. I called the front desk immediately, and was told I would receive a call from management in the morning. That never happened. Upon arriving back at the hotel Saturday night, our keycard did not work, so we had to go to the front office. When we got in the room, the bathroom was again not cleaned. I called again Sunday morning to report, and was told there was no manager on duty, but someone would call me Monday morning. On Sunday morning, the bathroom was finally mostly cleaned. I never received the call from management, even after emailing and calling. I paid a lot of money for a suite- cleaning up someone else's urine and pubic hairs without even an apology is just unacceptable. I've been a Best Western Rewards member for a while now, but after so many negative experiences recently, I may be taking our business elsewhere.

How this hotel received a good rating from anyone is surprising. I think a few people just got lucky. The door to our hotel room was not secure, you could push it open without a key, in a shady area where we saw two groups of people being rounded up by the police, that was worry-some but we carried on because it was so late.(at least the police are doing their job- way to go local cops!) The room smelled like cat pee from a dozen cats covered with a heavy dose of air freshener. I persisted and told my husband I didnt care, I just wanted to sleep. He turns down the bed to be greeted with blood stains and bugs. They offered no refund, which makes me think they couldn't care less that they are running a crappy establishment.

Nice newer motel, clean and well equipped rooms, very good breakfast, good location on the main road. Nothing remarkable, but nothing much to criticize either. A very good choice for accommodations in Eureka. About the only negative I can think of is that it is not within walking distance of old town Eureka, so if that's your primary destination then you might want to look for something in the old town area. We were just passing through, so it was perfect for us (although driving around in old town Eureka is still highly recommended).

My family and I landed at the airport at 10 am, and immediately drove to the hotel. Not necessarily expecting a room, we asked if there was any available for early check in. There was not, but I asked if we could get the earliest available adjoining rooms. The lady at the front desk said "ok", but never asked for a way to reach me. I offered my phone number and she said "you can leave it if you want." After spending 6 hours wasting time for our room, we returned to the hotel. The rooms were still not available, and the new clerk said there was no mention of early check in. After waiting in the lobby for an additional 45 minutes, the staff informed us the rooms were clean. We got to the room at 5:20 and the housekeeper was still cleaning the room. We waited for ten minutes patiently outside until she cleared us to go in. As soon as we closed the door, my wife noticed a pair of dirty underwear hanging on the inside of the door handle, and immediately let the housekeeper know. The housekeepers response was " I only had ten minutes to clean both of the rooms." I don't blame the housekeeper. I feel management has these workers understaffed. The room was dirty in general, and needed a thorough cleaning, not just a wipe down. This hotel is a typical "looks good from a distance, dirty up close, but try to get away with nice hotel prices" type of operation.

Stayed here 3 nights. Housekeeping restocked towels day 1 and partially made one of 2 beds. Day 2, at 4pm had to call front desk to ask for our room to be cleaned and more towels. Staff appeared overworked and very short staffed. Meghan in the lobby at check in was horribly rude to my friends we were traveling with who had 3 children. Elevator was out of order as well. Pool towels not stocked. Will never stay at this hotel ever again. Disappointing since I am a rewards member too.

Stopped by on a pre paid booking and was pleasantly surprised. Easy everything, parking,check in,check out. Fairly standard breakfast but better than ok. Comfortable beds with secure access to bedrooms. Lovely internal gardens with high quality fish ponds. Good Mexican restaurant literally on site. Great property for short stay.

Eureka is a great town for travelers. One of the largest on the upper California Coast, it offers many options for tourists and business travelers alike.This is one of the better hotels in the area and offers you alot for your money. Clean and comfortable are at the top and many amenities come into play, too. The biggest bonus for me is the quiet rooms. Up in town the teaffic on 4th and 5th Streets can make for a noisy night. Much better sleep here.

We checked in with our conformation number for a king bed dog friendly room. We paid our 30 extra dollars dog fee and off to our room. After 12 hours of driving we were very excited to get to our room. After going up three flights of stairs to our room we discovered a sign stating no dogs no smoking. The room also had a double bed. Down the stairs back to the front desk and back into line. 15 minutes later off to our new room. This room also states no dogs no smoking 250.00 fine. But they seemed not to care. So at this hotel you can have dogs in rooms that say no dogs so does that mean they don't care if you smoke either? So if you want a no pet room this is not the hotel for you. And this room definitely smells of dog. This hotel is supposed to be a best western plus. IT IS NOT.

We enjoyed our stay here. The pool and hot tub areas were a nice break from our cool weather hikes. We thought the breakfast was above average. We had a 2 room suite and it was nice to spread out a bit. I was glad we chose this location instead of in downtown Eureka. The Best Western there really isn't in an area you would want to wander with your family. It is about 4 blocks out of town in an industrial area. We are still unsure about Eureka. We couldn't quite tell if it was an area in a positive transition or decline. There was a lot of marijuana smoking on the streets but we saw that almost everywhere in California. There weren't more homeless around than other areas of our trip but the homeless were practically the only other people on the streets in town. We loved our meal at Lost Coast Brewery and the service at the Irish store.

Great staff, room sizes were generous, breakfast was good with a lot of options, decent location. Stayed here to go to Redwoods National Park (north) and Avenue of the Giants (south), and was about a 45-60 min drive to either.

This place is awesome..would encourage you to stay and enjoy this hidden gem....the location is perfect walking distance to food stores shopping the beach etc etc..front desk offered non advertised rates...keep that in mind..

We stayed in Eureka for a event and to see friends. The hotel room was very nice. All staff were friendly, breakfast was awesome. We will stay here again whenever we are in Eureka. Great stay??????????

When travelling and wanting a place to stay there are 2 items I ask for - cleanliness and a comfortable bed. All other ammenities are nice trappings, not necessities. We checked in at 7pm and got the last room available - a suite. Receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. I'll give facilities credit for cleanliness. Looks like some recent cosmetic improvements have been made. The suite was large with seperate restroom/bathroom, living space with eating area and balcony, bedroom. Came equipped with fridge, microwave and sofa bed. Bathroom/restroom fan was like a 747 taking off. There was an air conditioner/heating element in living room, however no AC facility in the seperate bedroom meaning you had to open window to outside noise for ventilation. Epic failure on the bed. Soft and lumpy queen bed and pillows. Felt I was sleepong on a hill. Neither my wife nor I could sleep. We tried to ooen the sofa bed as an alternative. We couldn't open it so we called front desk in wee hours of the AM. They sent someone to help only to find out sofa bed was also broken. For the size of bedroom a king sized bed would be appropriate. Either way - sleeping conditions were atrocious. If you are looking for a place to sleep, this isn't it. Complimentary breakfast included has wide selection of choices including selection of coffees.

Well lit parking lot, spacious & clean room, comfortable beds, great water pressure and delicious breakfast. Would have given 5 stars, but due to slow draining tub, I was standing in ankle deep water while showering.

Stayed here after going to Fern Canyon. This property is well maintained and updated. Our suite has a total of three queen beds. It's very clean and comfortable, but could use brighter lighting. The exterior of the property looks new. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking and easy access to rooms. Free breakfast the usual fare.

In town for a family reunion, we were sent here, and had a fine stay. an enormous room on the quiet rear /shore side of the inn. All the staff were attentive and "on the job". The landscaping is lovely - which is our line of work, so we especially appreciated the central garden and koi pond. Breakfast was fine, well prepared, well organized. Every aspect of our stay was refreshing. This is on the south edge of Eureka.

Everything from the initial greeting, the room, the breakfast and the checkout process were all very smooth and well run. The staff were awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Could watch the giant koi fish for hours. Would highly recommend.

It has been awhile since I stayed at a Best Western. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The location was great, but I thought the price was kind of high. The carpet felt kind of damp like it was just shampooed. The free breakfast was not bad - on par with a Fairfield Inn.

For the price, you may as well stay in a lodge nearby. Was told it was a pet-friendly hotel, but upon arrival, was bumped from a non pet-friendly Jacuzzi king suite to a non pet-friendly family queen suite. We were weary travelers with a 3yr old and a small dog; the family suite while spacious did not fit our needs. Also, it appears that the rooms have recently been retrofitted, yet the shower screams at you like a steaming kettle and the toilet flushes inefficiently.Not generally ones to place a poor review because context is always important, but I'll pass on this property in the future.

We made the trip to help move our daughter into Humboldt State University for her first year. The staff and facilities are very nice. The room was very nice and comfortable. We had a room with a jacuzzi ?? The breakfast was also very nice and the staff very attentive The indoor/outdoor pool was also good. The hot tub was way too hot. All it needed was some celery and carrots! Several people noted it was way too hot. I asked the front desk if they could turn it down a bit. Not sure if they carried that through. Front desk staff weren't very familiar with what was around them in the city. Very nice overall though. We definitely would stay there again.

I enjoyed using their indoor/outdoor pool. Our room had a Jacuzzi tub, it was awesome. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a microwave and a fridge. There were chocolate chip cookies and coffee set out in the lobby every single afternoon around check in time.Breakfast had many options, something for everyone and was delicious. The staff actually refilled your coffee and was very attentive.

We were celebrating our anniversary by traveling the West coast down to the Redwoods. I had booked 3 days here online. The courtyard is beautiful. The staff extremely helpful. We drove through the Avenue of the Giants. The trees were so massive and beautiful. The BW here is located next door to a large mall which is so convenient. The bay is steps away with a little park to relax in. The Shamus restaurant has fabulous food and the K restaurant in front has the best food we've ever had. Highly recommend this Best Western.

Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our stay especially the koi pond. This is a fairly large hotel and the breakfast buffet was very busy. The food was good but the staff in the breakfast room were a little slow refilling items and not very friendly.

Pseudo-Victorian outer decor, lush plants in the garden and comfy beds. The rooms had updated decor and seemed relatively sound-proofed. I had a small balcony off my room on the Garden Wing which had a bay view. For a brisk morning bay walk, I simply had to take a few steps to be on the Elk River Access Area and Truesdale Vista Point. A winner!

Rooms need remodeling big time....old and outdated. Need to update to fitted sheet. Tuck-ins do not stay tucked in. Bathrooms need a total make over. Our tub did not drain(Rm221). That should never happen...should be part of responsibility of housekeeping to notice and report it to maintenance. Maintenance then needs to fix the issue promptly. Would never return to this facility.

Did advanced reservation but followed up with a call. Our son is special needs, and as this was his first major road trip we wanted a room that was quiet for him, and in the event he had an episode wanted it to be quiet for other guests. They were friendly and accommodating during the call and at check in. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the courtyard was pretty. Son loved the koi pond! Breakfast was standard. Only con was the staff at breakfast were not personable and were slow to set out or refill. However that was minor compared to rest of stay. Will definitely stay there again next time we're that way.

The staff was friendly. We had a room assignment change and ended up with a mattress that needed replacing. Other than that the amenities were average. The gym had one elliptical and one treadmill, plus a weight machine. The cooling system in there was not working well and could use some work. We were close to several shops on hwy 101 through town.

Great place to stay. Great breakfast. Friendly and professional staff. Me and husband taking a week trip to escape the Texas heat. Loved the Redwoods National Park and the Avenue of the Giants. We did several hikes. Loved all the quaint towns. The Redwoods we awesome and the weather was wonderful.

We stayed here 2 years ago and loved it. This time when we got there and it was even better than before. Newly remodeled rooms with very comfy beds. Walking distance to a yummy steakhouse with a beautiful view of the water. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends.

We meet in Eureka every year, for a 4 day weekend with my Auntie. We book 2 rooms, next to each other & the rooms are always clean, beds are very comfortable and the maid staff are very accommodating with requests as well as all the staff. It's in a great location, the gardens always look beautiful and it's quiet!! Very quiet. We are very happy with Best Western Plus Bayshore Inn & you will be too.

I was here for two nights during a trip up the coast. The hotel is nothing fancy, but had everything I needed. The hot tub was a nice additional touch, although it would have been nice if it were open after 9PM. Also has a laundry room, but only one washer and one dryer, so I had to really pounce on it to get my stuff in. Didn't try the breakfast. Right next door (literally; you can walk there) to a big mall, so if you're out of supplies you can get some there. Decor/furnishings were a little old/run-down, but you're getting what you pay for. Overall, everything I expected.

Located next to big mall with lots of shopping possibilities and food, hotel is nice, motel style with elevator to second floor, enough parking space. Rooms nicely furnished, clean and spacious. Good breakfast selection at the breakfast room behind reception in the main building.

arrival was positive easy check-in, room was comfortable, great view, for large hotel easy access to room- stairs or elevator , hot/cold breakfast, suggest 2nd waffle maker, was great and the mixed fruit bowl was awesome.

The hotel is very pretty, staff is friendly but not very knowledgeable of the local area. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired (don't think the eggs were real eggs). However, there is a very pretty koi pond & little stream & an extra spa, but that courtyard is only accessible to guests in certain rooms. The hotel isn't that big, it seems that everyone should be able to go in that area. There is only one washer/dryer & it seems many guests use this service, so I had to wait quite a while to use it. The dryer didn't seem to dry very well. The is the best location in Eureka though, just at the beginning of town. YOU DON'T WANT TO BE IN THE TOWN. The town is full of homeless people, it does not give you a very safe feel. It's also pretty deserted & lonely. I wasn't sure if I should stay in Eureka or Fortuna for sight seeing, so I did a night in each. Fortuna is a MUCH prettier, safer town. Neither town has much to do. But it's worth it to stay here to see the redwoods which are breath taking, & the roosevelt elk.

Large rooms, quiet, clean. Plenty of room for luggage and stuff. Only frustrating issue was the keys to get into the building area. Even though the room doors are on the outside you first had to get into the "area." The keys never worked the first time. Once after playing with it for 10 times I went to the front desk and gave me new keys that work better; only 3-5 times before getting into the area. Other guests had the same problem because we let them in and they also complained. So, it was not just us. Motel has a confusing layout and could use better signage. The layout would be great if they were 250 miles south but in Eureka where the morning were cool, even in July, it was a walk to Breakfast. Breakfast was the typically Best Western fare, not bad but ordinary. Overall, would recommend the place. It is next to the mall and nearby restaurants. On the south side of Eureka.

We stayed at this hotel while we were on a road trip driving to/from the SF Bay area. We arrived later in the evening and the front desk was prompt and helpful, letting us know about restaurant options still open around the hotel (the BBQ joint within walking distance is great!). Our room was very spacious, including a large walk-in shower and a jacuzzi tub big enough for two in the living room. Very comfy beds. Our room had a small balcony that overlooked the parking lot, but the room was still very quiet. We had to take off promptly the next morning to continue our travels, but this would be a wonderful weekend beach getaway! Highly recommended.

This was a great place to stay for one night! Hotel room was very clean and nice - extremely satisfied with hotel grounds. Very friendly staff. Pool and hot tub were clean and the kids enjoyed that a lot. Breakfast wasn't great but it was ok. Will stay again if in the area. :)

Stayed here for 1 night as part of our road trip. Fairly standard hotel, our room overlooked the hot tub and pond area. Rooms were satisfactory, comfortable and clean. Only slight downside was the breakfast area, although not a bad size, with the amount of guests it could do with being a little bigger - was difficult to get to some items as there just wasn't enough room. Although it wasn't helped by one guest in particular stacking several plates with food while at the same time completely taking over the waffle machine for a good 10 minutes!

Usually I have good experiences with Best Western Plus hotels. No so much with this location. I rented two rooms this stay. One had a wet floor, we think from air conditioner. The other room was hot a pond arrival and never cooled down.I also woke up with bug bites.

We were pretty impressed with both this hotel and Eureka. What a great town. The hotel is easy to find off the 101 and close to the Old Town and plenty of restaurants. Check-in took a little long, but the service was good. The room, a suite, had my favorite setup with separate sleeping quarters from the main room and bathroom. The furnishings were nice and the room was clean. The beds were some of my favorite on the trip. We lucked out with a first floor room and parked right in front of the door. They have great amenities with a pool that is indoor/outdoor and a nice gym/sauna. This is truly a -Best- Western.

We really enjoyed the layout of our room with the bathroom separated from the main room with a wall. It allowed me to get ready for the day while my family was sleeping. The room was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was good with many options each day including waffles, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit, breads and pastries, cereal, milk, juices, coffee. The one downside of breakfast was that it was very busy and it was hard to get around and hard for the staff to keep things stocked and cleaned, although they tried very hard. The earlier you can eat, the better.

Avoid this place at all costs. Very dishonest staff. GM is totally rude and very dishonest! We left some clothes there accidentally and have been lied to on multiple occasions. Terrible! 3 weeks later still no clothes. We were first told they couldn't send them we would have to drive up there hundreds of miles to pick them up.

What a nice hotel, the rooms clean, everyone I came in contact with that worked for the hotel was pleasant and helpful. The location is perfect, there are a few restaurants walking distance, great atmosphere

We enjoyed the stay here- great breakfast & it was close to walk to shops, restaurants, movies, etc. The jacuzzi suite was spacious & clean. Pet friendly too which was great! We would stay there again for sure :)

Check in was very slow. We had a prepaid voucher which staff did not appear to understand. We were charged for the room then refunded. In fact they also tried to charge us at checkout too. We were given an accessible room for no reason as neither of us are disabled. However, the room was clean and comfortable with an extremely large shower cubicle, to allow for the disability we don't have. Breakfast was very basic but it was included.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. It is a three story building built in a “U” shape. The rooms on the north side face a mall and Highway 1. The traffic noise in this section of the building is relentless with motorcycles, diesel engine trunks, construction trucks and cars racing up and down the highway. The noise is 24/7. Breakfast is served adjacent to the lobby. The room is too small, and there is not enough staff to handle the many guests who attend the free breakfast. The food is not replenished, and people have to wait or do without. The guest laundry has one washer and drier. The fitness room has one treadmill and elliptical machine. The resistance machine is useless. If you stay here, make sure you do not get a room on the north side of this hotel unless you love noise day and night.

Second or third time staying here. Compared to other places we've stayed in Eureka it fares well. Clean, good location, reasonable prices. Only down side was a $30 per night charge for our dog. Kind of pricey. Large room, large tv. Relatively quiet although right on 101. A few good restaurants within walking distance. In short, a good stop-over when traveling through.

Groundfloor room near the swimming pool. only noisy during the day, so no problem. car parking was difficult at times as we had chosen a holiday weekend and didn.t realise it! Breakfast was ok but crowded and not enough seating for the number of guestes. Normal for hotels when guest get up and go from early to late morning, but not on holiday weekends!! The room was good size and comfortable and the staff were all very helpful.

We were very pleased staying here. Clean, secure rooms that open into courtyards. Large project. They have microwave in closed cabinet with t.v. atop and it is at end of bed. We opened the cabinet door (microwave door closed) and it smelled of prior heatings. smelly. most secure hotel. You must use your key card to go from the parking lot down a hall to your courtyard. Two restaurants next door and a Kohl's in a shopping center also. Water view of bay. Barbecue place (Shamus) next door delicious. Mexican food also other side and not Tex Mex but was fine. Breakfast free and large room. Very good.

First time here, but we always stay at the Best Westerns when doing our road trips. This place is large, but parking is limited and tight. Best for small cars, but there is street parking if you drive a full size truck. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are large, and clean. Breakfast is better than most, and there are places to eat on either side.

Best western Bayshore inn was our fifth accommodation on a California adventure. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a nice pool area. The breakfast was very good, very fresh and clean. The staff was nice and helpful.

We came in late and stayed for the night. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a suite, which was nice for 6 of us. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly. The location was ok.

We stayed one night and it was just what we expected from a BW hotel. The desk staff was helpful and was able to get us in the room an hour or so earlier than usual check in. There are a few restaurants adjacent to the hotel which was convenient. Within walking distance from the elk river. A great place to stay if your ever in the area.

This is a very clean and modern property in a safe, convenient location. The room was up to date super clean and the king size bed was really comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and made my stay enjoyable. The free breakfast as with all Best Western properties is identical to every other free breakfast out there, its adequate but nothing spectacular, the lady working in the dining area was very nice. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who is staying in Eureka and on future trips to the area I will not hesitate to stay here again.

We reserved a room since we were traveling with my small pug. We were charges 30 a night. I appreciate the fact that the hotel accepts dogs but there is absolutely no grass nearby. I had to walk behind the hotel on a grass strip behind the hotel. Parking spaces are also very small so if you have a large vehicle you might want to park on the street. Beds were comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. They also have vending machines. The hotel is also close to two restaurants. Both are offering food that is very good quality.

Located right on Hwy 101, this clean and well amenitied Hotel is quite a treat after some walking and exploring in the Redwood Forest. Comfortable bed and good smelling toiletries were in this room, that came with a microwave and fridge, a nice plus. There was ample parking, an indoor/outdoor pool and two hot tubs. Our room, on the second floor, had a lovely view of the koi pond and a patio door that opened to let the outdoor breeze in. Bonus: full breakfast in the morning as well as got 10% off at both the Mexican and steak place that surrounds the property.

We just spent two nights at the Best Western Bayshore Inn and enjoyed our stay. This is an outside entry hotel, and although we were on the 1st floor I think there is an elevator. The property is well maintained inside and outside. The location is good with town and many restaurants close by. There are two restaurants next door. You can walk to the bay in a few minutes; the area is fine but I wouldn't suggest walking there at night. We had a king bed room which was very large with a comfortable chair, desk, table and chairs, microwave and refrigerator. The room was nicely decorated, very clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was great with about everything you could want. There was plenty of seating. The check-in process could be improved and our room was not cleaned the second day, but it was satisfactorily handled after notifying the front desk. Overall, everything was just as it should be. We had a good stay and I would recommend this hotel when visiting Eureka.

My wife and I were traveling on a business trip. I booked this room through a large name booking service. We had never stayed here before and had no idea what to expect - other than the description on the website. Well, we were absolutely impressed with all aspects of our stay. Words that come to mind include: clean, well laid out, helpful smiling staff, really nice complimentary breakfast buffet, lots of large parking spaces, geographically located within the city, value for the buck. We can recommend this hotel to you without hesitation.

I had been to Eureka several months ago, and I stayed at another hotel. While it was nice, it was very noisy from the traffic and there was the usual free, non-healthy breakfast. What attracted me was the location, just a block from the bay with a trail there. The room was quite nice and it was quiet. The breakfast was great: make yourself waffles, eggs, bacon or sausage, plus more. I usually eat out for breakfast as I generally find free breakfasts not worthwhile; I ate here every morning. My only complaint was the WiFi: verrry slooow at times, but decent at times. Overall, I will probably stay here again.

The staff are ill equipped to handle situations in the hotel no matter how they liked to help. A non-gues/stranger was able to enter the inner parking lots and after realizing there is no spot available, backed up and hit my parked SUV. He had the audacity to park in a different spot before anybody could confront him, left the perp vehicle for four hours and picked it up at a later time. If he really wasn't a hotel guest, why did management not tow the vehicle out. So the stranger California tag 3JTX680 was able to leave scot free while causing thousands of dollars damage to my vehicle(Range Rover Sport). Manager was not available for contact and left inexperienced staff to fend for themselves. To add insult to injury, I saw a bedbug crawling on the bedsheets. So for this reason avoid at all cost. Will not stay here next month or ever. What a disappointment is an understatement!

Wanted to get out of the house and decided to take a trip to Eureka because the weather was perfect. When we got to Eureka we used Goggle maps to find a hotel where we could enjoy the sounds of the bay. The bed was easy to sleep in and we had a Jacuzzi tub in the room. Behind the hotel was a steakhouse and a nice walking trail with great views of an estuary with many birds. There were some homeless around doing weird homeless things but the we are coming back to the Best Western Plus Bayshore Inn

This hotel is right on Cal State Hi-way 101 in Eureka and next to a mall (how convenient is that?) Stayed 3 nights on third floor (elevator working). The room was clean w/ a wall heat/ac unit you control, view of the garden, Mexican restaurant in front parking lot, a Steak house to the rear and a gas station across the street in front. Breakfast by the lobby consisting of hot scrambled eggs, Bacon, breads, pastries, cereals, fruits, make your own waffles, juices, coffee, tea, milk, yogurt and much more. Service is excellent, price is very affordable, just a very convenient place to stay.

Use this place often. Always a great place to stay. They have good service and the place is always presented in exceptional condition. I would recommend this location to all looking for a nice place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bayshore Inn. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was friendly and professional. This will be our go to hotel when we are in the area.

Nice room. Comfortable bed; slept just fine. I found the sign above the toilet saying to turn off the water and not flush the toilet again in case of a clog to be a little strange. . . . Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast; hot food, several options. The only negative is the parking lot, parking spaces are small; you feel very "crowded" when you park and the likelihood of a door ding seems very high. I would definitely stay here again.

Clean, breakfast, good service, easy to find. We stayed on our way from the Oregon Coast to see the Redwoods, which were amazing! The Redwoods are worth the trip to see, and this hotel is in the center of them, past one grove, and before the Avenue of the Giants.

Comfortable top notch service . Children loved the pool area. First time swimming while it was raining outside. Breakfast service is great. Stay here each time I visit my grandbabies. Very nice place and great staff to assist your.

Loved the hotel! Our room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was really good. The on site Mexican restaurant made our evening. We had a great overall experience and would come back. Our only suggestion would be to establish a pet area as the hotel is pet friendly.

I stayed on the 21st and 22nd. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet was the best breakfast buffet I've had at a motel. The staff even tried to accomodate a special religious diet for a guest. I enjoyed relaxing by the koi pond in the courtyard. This will be my first choice next time I'm in Eureka

We have stayed at the other Best Western in Eureka and unfortunately, it is a nice hotel, but, it is right in the heart of the unchecked downtown homeless, drug dealing, and prostitution that seems to run rampant in Eureka. The hotel staff at check in were excellent. Rooms were very clean and neat. The hotel has two restaurants adjacent to it, Tres Picosos and Shamus Steak House. Both excellent restaurants! This hotel is within walking distance of the Bayshore mall and Sportsman's Warehouse. Great spot and very nice hotel.

I spent 2 nights here on a business trip in a king room with a fireplace in the Garden area of the hotel. Excellent service from the check in staff, rooms were very clean and neat. The only issue was the little refrigerator was noisy I just turned it off. A bonus is the two excellent restaurants next to the hotel and Sportsman's Warehouse across the street! There is walking trail nearby. This is one of the better hotels in the area!

Me and my mom and our dog stayed at this hotel in November and loved it. Clean room, nice view, gorgeous property. Right in town and next to a beach. We called the main desk to find a place that we could eat w/ our dog, while they couldn't direct us to many dog-friendly places they did suggest the restaurant right behind the hotel. We ordered there and took it back to our room. Wonderful choice and glad for the decision. They even cooked a plain chicken breast for our dog who has trouble eating his dinner away from home. Awesome Place!

We had a tough drive to the coast from Central California after having spent a horrible night in Sacramento. Had not called for a reservation and needed a pet friendly room. We were totally taken care of in a wonderful fashion. I just can't say enough about the desk staff. The room was immaculate, the beds were very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was very good with different selection.

Renewed our faith in the Best Western chain. Had a lovely room at the back overlooking the Koi Pond Which was quiet. Guest laundry was great. Room was updated and clean. Fireplace was a nice touch although it was a little noisey. Fridge,microwave and coffee maker in the room. Lots of seating with table chairs, easy chair and footstool. Bathroom was spotless.Lots of choice at Breakfast with lots of seating. Staff friendly. Great location. Restaurants and mall within walking distance. Would recommend.

I stayed with my family at the BW Plus Bayshore Inn in early March for an extended weekend getaway in extreme Northern California. The property is adjacent to Broadway/US 101 but most of the rooms are set back from the road (more on this in a minute). It's about a 10 minute drive to Downtown Eureka, and the Bayshore Mall is just next door. I booked a suite with a king bed in the main room and a queen bed in an adjacent room. I was a little concerned when the front desk clerk said the room was on the first floor of the building closest to Broadway/US 101 but it turned out the room was far enough that there wasn't any road noise. I also didn't hear any noise from our neighbors upstairs or next door, but I don't know if that's because the suite was soundproofed well or if we had no neighbors during our stay. The suite itself had plenty of room for the four of us, although I wished there was a comfy chair to sit in while reading. Breakfast was decent--the dining area never got crowded in the two days we ate there--but the coffee (available 24/7 in the lobby) left a lot to be desired. The other main reason I chose this property was because it had an indoor pool. Actually, that's a bit of a misnomer because the pool is one of those indoor/outdoor affairs, and it turned out my kids forgot to pack their swimsuits, so I didn't try it out (that and I didn't feel like crossing the parking lot to get to it when it's 45 degrees outside), but it and the hot tub did look inviting.

I highly recommend this hotel. The staff was very engaging despite the fact he was very busy. He gave us a very good restaurant recommendation. We had the fireplace spa room with an awesome view of the bay. The room itself was very clean and furnished with plenty of towels and a robe. We definitely plan on coming back.

This was a unexpected fun find. Great facilities such as lit spa pool with fountain, pool table, and covered, heated relaxation area. An added bonus was the complimentary stretch limo to take us to destinations within Eureka.

My husband and I were on our way through town and decided to stop for dinner and to find a room for the night. We were in the mood for steak and found a great steak house by the water called Shamus T Bones. Right beside the restaurant was this large best western. So we walked over and got a room. We got a king suite facing the ocean. View isn't spectacular since there is some short buildings between the hotel and bay. But the second floor was good. We had an electric fireplace and jacuzzi in the room. Both were very nice. Neat little coy pone in the court yard. Nice breakfast.

Great staff throughout our stay. Room was clean and well kept daily. Breakfast had a large variety and as we were here for 5 days it kept us trying something new every day. The front desk accommodated late arrivals and space for our family to meet. Thank you!

The rooms were okay. We went for a family funeral. I reserved 3 rooms, one of which my sister-in-law paid for and I paid for the other two. When we got home we were charged twice. They said I reserved 3 rooms and my husband reserved two rooms. The two rooms my husband reserved were "no shows." My husband DID NOT reserve two rooms....I made reservations online. My guess is that with all the family calling to make reservations their staff misunderstood and accidentally reserved two rooms in his name. All in all our family reserved 5 rooms. We talked to the manager and the head corporation over and over. Even with all the evidence we submitted (copies of receipts, etc.) they kept saying they had not done anything wrong and refused to take the charges off my account. My bank even placed a three-way call trying to mediate with them. There was no getting through to them--they wouldn't admit they had made a mistake. My bank took the charges off but the motel got paid for two rooms that no one occupied. Why would my husband reserve two rooms no one stayed in?

This is the first time we stayed at this Best Western in Eureka. The last time we stayed at the other one down town. That one was more old and kind of dingy. This Inn was bright and nice to be at. The staff in the office was great. Breakfast was much more than we expected. All the food was great and hot. Our room on the third floor was good. It was clean and no complaints. Hotel staff makes a great stay.

This was our best experience when staying at a resort. The staff was wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean and taken care of every day. We did not have time to use the pool, hot tub or gym but did check them out. Very nice.

We were traveling from San Diego to northern Oregon for Christmas, dog in tow. I booked this hotel due to the pleasant reviews and it being dog friendly. On the outside I think this hotel is just beautiful. I'm not really sure how to describe it, maybe almost European looking but beautiful. The room was on par with what is Expected from Best Western Plus - clean, large, nice T.V. comfortable beds, etc. The heater worked really well and was exact unlike some places I'v stayed where it gets too warm or too cool. The bathroom was also nice. My biggest negative is there was a smell in our room, my daughter called it mildew but I think it smelled more like somebody was covering up a smell with a spray. We did have a dog friendly room though and the smell wasn't too bad. The best part of our stay was the staff. I really wish I had taken down their names. I had driven 11 hours that day and didn't arrive until 10 p.m. - I was a bit dizzy from the drive and they were just so friendly and nice. I cut my finger trying to take dog food out of a can and one man was so nice he even examined my finger for me. Wish we had arrived sooner and taken advantage of the view and the walk. There was also a Mexican restaurant right next door that was open quite late - that worked out wonderfully. I will definitely use this hotel again. It is obviously run with high standards. Thanks for my stay.

During a car delay on our trip, we had to find a place to stay at the last minute, with our Great Dane. Upon visiting the site and inquiring about a stay with our dog, we were welcomed and offered the best rate available and allowed an early check-in to get settled. The King Bed room was the biggest I have ever seen, and immaculate. This made a bad situation more bearable. The check-in clerk was compassionate and friendly, inquiring about our situation when we saw us at breakfast, showing he truly cared. When we requested a room clean and more pillows during an hour out walking the dog, it was complete upon our return. Although the hotel seemed full, the morning breakfast area was very quiet and quite stocked (GREAT coffee, scrambled eggs, meat, cereals, oatmeal, breads, waffle station, etc). There was a bit of noise late into the evening, but it was overall quiet the rest of the evening and morning. I used the fitness room to get in a walk on the treadmill - room is small and quiet with a TV, treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike and weight training machine. There is also a coin operated washer & dryer on the premises (dryer takes a VERY long time to dry). Less than a block behind the hotel is a walking/biking path along Humbolt Bay which is very nice, quiet and peaceful. I would stay at this hotel again if in the area.

Walked into a nice lobby to one employee, who was very nice and handling people and phone calls professionally and efficiently! Parked close to elevator and went to our garden-view room with a fireplace. Nice room! Vanity outside toilet/shower, which is nice when you have teens who take forever in the shower. Pump shampoo, etc in the shower, so you can use what you need without fighting all those plastic bottles. Two restaurants nearby that offer 10% off for hotel guests. We ate at the Mexican restaurant and ate well for less than 30 dollars for 3 people. Walked back through the pool/exercise room/business center area to print off boarding passes. Nice, safe place. Good selection of breakfast items and lots of tables to sit at. Definitely will return if in the area!

Nice place to stay in Eureka right in the middle of anything you need be it personal or leisure items....Nice Mexican restaurant next door and also a BBQ Steakhouse behind....Easy access to all local attractions such as old town.....

Super clean room, Koi pond outside of our room, jacuzzi tub and fireplace in room...The staff was very friendly and accommodating...Our pets traveled with us on this journey, and were welcomed at this hotel...The place was quite, and we felt very secure in our rooms... we will be staying here on our next trip to the coast...

We planned a last minute trip to the coast and booked here after reading rave reviews of how clean it was. We were extremely disappointed to find it so incredibly dated and our rooms with stains everywhere - on the carpet and on the chair. The safety latch on the door is missing a screw so it is hanging broken. When we pulled back the sheets and moved pillows there were several clumps of hair that did not belong to us. We are typically pretty easy to please and don't require much - but cleanliness is always important. When they are overlooking such glaringly obvious things it's gross to think about what else is being missed. Oh yeah, and we booked for garden view and didn't get it. We paid and now feel stuck here for 3 nights - I'm grossed out to get in the bed and, though we won't spend much time except at night in the hotel, wish we had somewhere else to go. During the day when we were out and about from 10 am to 4 pm, nobody made it to our room to empty the garbages, etc. none of this stuff is a big deal on its own, but when it all piles on each other it is crummy. When we called to let the desk know of our complaints they discounted our rate about $10 per night which was about 10%.

I loved the room with hot tub and near the garden area it was very beautiful and the room was very big and nice I really enjoyed it all. I would definitely stay here again. And got a nice view on the balcony.

Best Western is a good International chain hotel. Rooms in Best western hotel in USA are fairly bigger in size. This hotel is equipped with reasonably good Sized rooms as compared to Few Best western hotels in Europe.This hotel had a big premises. Front Desk and Restaurant for Breakfast are separately located.This has good Vehical parking place.Breakfast is available on Complimentary basis.The area is surrounded by few shopping malls.This caters all the guest needs. Not a very great hotel.Buta very good Transit hotel. Breakfast is well spread. Front Desk is friendly. Overnight stay does not allow me to write more details.This has SPA and business centre too.But we enjoyed our stay after Avery long drive from California.

We love staying at Best Western Plus hotels because their beds are so comfortable. Bayshore Inn was no exception. But the positive comments start there. We were given the handicap room ( not sure why) which was on ground level by the ice machine. We heard every footstep and rolling suitcase that was anywhere near our room. Not the way I wanted to be woken up. We got a good price so I guess you get what you pay for.

One of our favorites. Clean rooms, good breakfast, very nice & helpful staff. New Mexican restaurant next door which is authentic and they offer a 10% discount for BW guests. Walking distance to Bayshore Mall. We really like the rooms with the fireplace and views to the garden & koi pond.

Great value for the money. Our first night there was a plumbing problem in the morning. But the hotel staff made it better by giving us a upgraded room for the following night for less money. Make sure you check out the fish pond.

Room was the most incredible I've ever had for the rate going - spacious (gigantic actually), with an in-room jacuzzi tub, incredibly reasonable, and dog-friendly! Nice place overall, easy to get to, and very clean.

The clerk was courteous and friendly, willing to help with any need I may have. Also, he was very informative, telling me of the availability of the amenities provided by the hotel and the discounts offered by the restaurants in the area.

While passing through Eureka, bring my daughter home from college for Christmas break, we stayed the night, Too bad we had been driving all day and were tired. We would have liked to spend some time in the indoor/outdoor pool. It looked clean and refreshing. Instead, we enjoyed our beds and slept quite comfortable. Am breakfast was ready for us and very good. Nice selection of food to choose from.

Nice property, will we stay next time thur. It's close to shopping and there is plenty of different food choices to pick from. We ate at the steak house Shaemus T and it was good. We ate at the breakfast at hotel it was also good. Garden area is beautiful we've stayed several different times of the year and garden area always beautiful.

I always stay at this Best Western when I go through Eureka. It's better than the other one closer to downtown. I had booked a room and forgot to take location of the room into account. I called on the day of arrival and they changed the room for us. Great customer service!

Great price, great rooms and excellent staff. Went out of their way to make us and our new dog we adopted in that town welcomed. Beds were very comfortable. Couldn't get hooked up to the internet and the staff had me up and running in a minute. I can't say enough good things about their staff. Very friendly people, including the cleaning crew. People, please remember to leave a tip for the cleaners. They appreciate.

I stayed here for a couple nights while in the area for business, and it was great. Check-in was quick & friendly, very welcoming lobby & greeting from the desk worker. Location is great, right next to a decent size mall/shopping center, also near restaurants. Good breakfast at hotel as well. Room was clean and well kept. Nice balcony & very comfy bed as well. All in all, I will always stay here in the future

nice modern hotel had a room facing the garden and koi pond. hot tub in the garden area was nice . a lot of homeless in the area put your bikes in your rooms, don't leave unsure items in your truck bed, thieves will steal anything if its not locked up

Hubby and I have stayed at this property numerous times on our way to and from California. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. 2 restaurants are located within steps of the property and are both good. We prefer Shamus! Few changes have occurred since our last stay, Bacon is no longer served for breakfast and the coffee bar in the Garden view area has been eliminated. Hopefully they will both return before our next stay.

This was a overnight stay to visit an Old Friend the following day in Arcata. We were very pleased with the Hotel and Staff. Very Clean and accommodating and the Restaurant they recommended "Shamus Steak House and BBQ" Outstanding. would stay there in the future.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Eureka. The room was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is right next to a shopping mall and restaurants. I will definitely stay there on my next visit to Eureka!

People at check in were very Pleasant, comfortable and quite and breakfast was great and location was awesome and check out was easy. Would suggest anyone looking to stay in the area nice quite location.

It has been several years since we stayed in Eureka and the last time the Bayshore did't accept pets, they do now! Most hotel/motels that accept pets reserve rooms that are stuck in the back without a view and in rooms that are badly in need of upgrading. In other words, pet owners are religated to second class customers. Not so this Best Western. It was a stormy night and we had been traveling up the California coast and we stopped here. Our room had a fireplace and was very nice and updated. The office staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The parking is convenient and well-lit at night. The rooms are set back far enough from the highway to be isolated from highway traffic noise. Thanks Bayshore for treating us as valued customers who travel with well-behaved pets. We will return.

Met all expectations. The receptionist at check-in was pleasant and the process was quick. Nice spa facilities. Convenient to local amenities. Found a great local restaurant, The Brick & Fire is just 15 minutes from the hotel and worth the stop.

In general this is a decent hotel. Good breakfast. Our only issues where a missed room cleaning one day and the fact that we were next to the pool, vending machines and stairs so a little noisy. Avoid that location.

Big hotel on outskirts of Eureka. Nearby is steakhouse were hotel guests get 10% discount. We had big room on 2nd floor. On Saturday hotel was very full, was difficult to find free place in parking. Breakfast is served in reception building and has wide choice of food- you even can cook waffles yourself.

I stay at this hotel ALL THE TIME for work. Staff is super nice and the best thing about it is you can get rooms in the very back that have a spectacular view of the Humboldt Bay. Great location for exploring all the great beaches and rain forest areas and GIANT Redwood trees of the Humboldt area forests. And there's a huge mall right next door and a decent bar and grill right in back of it. So good location. They allow pets, too. But unfortunately not in the rooms with views.

This facility offered us a good sized, clean, well appointed room, and an excellent (included) full breakfast. The front desk was very helpful answering the usual "road trip" questions we asked. We'll stay here again if we come that way.

Definitely no longer a Best Western "Plus" property. Used to be a great hotel but looks like new owner clearly has down graded everything to help pay for the purchase. Missing furniture, very slow internet, limited staffing, non-working appliances, etc., etc. Will not come back.

Headed out for a road trip and on our way home we decided to stay the night here. Spacious rooms with a fridge/freezer combo, TV and microwave make for a nice stay. Comfy beds with lots of pillows. Friendly staff with a continental breakfast

I was on my way back to California from Washington when my family was evacuated during the Northern CA fires. They couldn't find hotel rooms anywhere near our home, so I told them to meet me at the BW, Plus Bayshore Inn. We were all stressed to the max and the rooms we got in the back section of this hotel were exactly what we needed. Very clean, large, comfortable and quiet. The Staff could not have been more accommodating. Loved the Koi pond and the garden. And, there as a very nice steak house/bar right behind the hotel, just a quick walk across the parking lot. Incredible hotel for the money. I'd certainly stay here again.

what a great experience will definitely be back even the hot tub was warm (duh) and clean. restaurant was very pleasant this trip involved one member of our party that needed some handicap help. the property went above and beyond to accommodate. we really enjoyed everything about this property and the service

We enjoyed a pleasant 2 night stay at this hotel. There isn't really a lot to comment on as everything about the hotel was fine and we have no real criticism of the hotel itself. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and efficient, and breakfast, while not extensive, was satisfactory. Our only criticism relating to our stay was the noise from a group of bikers staying there at the same time, who seemed to have to keep playing with their bikes and revving the engines. This of course is not the fault of the hotel although unlike many in the UK (and 1 in the US in which we stayed) there is no reminder to guests to consider others, but this hotel, in common with most others in America in which we stayed, does not seem to have adequate insulation or sound-proofing. Overall, however, our experience was positive and we would happily stay again if wanting a hotel in the area.

Can't say anything negative about this stay. We belong to Best Western Rewards and are well taken care of at these Resorts. The in-house breakfast is a big plus during our travels. It save us valuable time to not have to leave the property to have breakfast. The quality of food and choices are great and the dining room is always kept very clean and bused. We will always recommend Best Western Hotels and Resorts for you lodging.

The guy at the desk was extremely friendly and helpful when we checked in. He told us about an extra discount available with our Harley Davidson credit card. We also got a discount at a near by steakhouse. Shamus T. Bones was very good by the way. The handicapped room had a very large bathroom with a huge walk-in shower. But, just because a hotel is pet friendly there should NOT be dog hair on the beds. Housekeeping should do a better job and keep their hair tied back. Rolling back the sheets and finding long black hair is really not inviting. There were thorns in the carpet and no elevator. Would not stay here again.

Very friendly front desk staff. Quick check in. Laundry facilities are available. Pool and hot tub area were great. Rooms were spacious, clean and updated. There is a restaurant you can walk to just behind this facility that has a varied menu for food and drinks. Breakfast offers both hot and cold choices.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean, along with the rooms. The garden area with the koi poind is a very nice touch. We had a king bed with Jacuzzi tub, this room was large and spacious. Would definitely stay here again. Gave 4 on sleep quality because pillows were a little to thick and firm for my taste.

We were traveling from Oregon down the coast to see the Redwoods. Went thru the State and National areas and decided that BW Plus in Eureka would be an ideal location for a nights stay before continuing on to Humbolt Redwoods. Got great tips from the front desk staff. Had choice of USA today and/or local paper. Nice touch. Breakfast was above normal compared to other BW's. The restaurant behind was very good and hotel guests get a discount.

I was travelling with my dog, and usually I have to put up with pretty bad hotel rooms; but not here! The rooms are tastefully decorated, carpetted floors so my dog can actually walk without slipping around. Super comfy bed and the hotel staff was very friendly and competent. Would definitely recommend!
