The room is disgusting , not clean is understatement!!! The shower is filthy and dirty. The equipment is old and rusted, can't believe that Bestwestern holds a place like this

"Scenic location close to Mont Saint Michel"
WoonT, 18 Juin 2023

I was looking for a hotel that is near Mont Saint Michel (20 mins drive) so that I can arrive at the attraction early. This hotel was recommended by another reviewer. I stayed there for one night with my wife and son. We a room with three beds. The check-in is seamless and the reception person is very polite and professional. The room and bathroom is clean and looks new. The car park is few and is in a open space right next to the hotel. What is surprisingly wonderful is the very nice breakfast. It feels and tastes well made. Everything from the toast, bacon, yogurt was perfect. We had a location next to a window and have a nice view of a bridge and stream beside the hotel. I strongly recommend anyone to stay there.

"Nice views of the river but little else."
CaptainPicard_7, 03 Juin 2023

This is a bog-standard Best Western hotel. If you get a room with a river view (like us) then this compensates slightly for the fact that it's nothing special. The room was fine in that it was relatively spacious, had a comfortable bed (except for the dreaded foam pillows), a large TV, safe and enough storage for a short stay.. The bathroom was fine with decent towels and plentiful hot water. Breakfast was fine also with a decent choice for the type of hotel it is. The views from the breakfast room/restaurant were of the river and that was pretty good. There were water dispensers on each floor which was also a thoughtful touch. The drinks machine in the breakfast room is free to use all day if you have breakfast there. But. The hotel has no real place to sit and relax and read a book except from some sofas in reception. It's also pretty much devoid or character and atmosphere. The staff blew hot and cold: sometimes accommodating and helpful, other times grudging and brusque. Housekeeping was just OK. The tissue(s) in the bathroom were eco-friendly and were pretty useless. We never ate in the restaurant in the evening so can't comment. Ducey is unremarkable: some cheap eateries and a decent restaurant (the Auberge d'Selune, worth visiting). Overall this is a hotel to use to sleep in and really only that.

"Great place to stay for Normandy Visit"
loisf811, 08 Mai 2023

Supposed to return visit to to this hotel after staying here nearly 10 years ago. Hotel has been completely renovated and is a stunning property in a fabulous location. Great for a visit to Mount Saint Michel. As well as other Normandy points. Breakfast was included special dinner optional. The sound of the river running through your room was a beautiful music to sleep with. Stunning views, and adorable little village close by with cafés and restaurants. It's on our list to come back every time we come to Normandy! Love, love, love.

"Lovely hotel, great hospitality"
Catherine494932, 27 Février 2023

I stayed for 2 nights, my room had a lovely view of the river. This was a larger room than expected, and i really appreciated this. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending this as a place to stay.

"Great hotel, beautiful setting, and delicious food."
cullen13, 25 Février 2023

We had a one night stay at the hotel, a Saturday night. The room was well equipped and comfortable, with a great river view. Our visit was a Saturday in late February and we found the room to be a bit chilly, it had only one small electric heater. We had a dinner B&B package. The meal in the restaurant was delicious a 3 course set menu with a good choice. The waitress serving was amazing, the restaurant was very busy and she managed all alone! So attentive, friendly, and super efficient, such a credit to the hotel. The town is pretty with various bars, shops & restaurants. Would 100% recommend and return. Thank you for a great stay.

"Delightful well run hotel"
Richard J, 13 Septembre 2022

20 minutes from Mont St-Michel. A delightful small hotel in an old converted Mill, next to a river. Free parking opposite the entrance. The rooms are well appointed with a shower and bath. The bed was comfortable and we had a quiet nights sleep. Breakfast was continental with scrambled egg and bacon/sausage options. You could also book dinner which was also tasty and well prepared. The interior was smart, contemporary, blending the old stonework with modern features. Above all without exception the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. An excellent base for exploring the area. Wi-Fi worked well. The Hotel is within the town of Ducey, with many interesting places to see and restaurants.

"Excellent short stay hotel"
chicknitza, 17 Août 2022

We stayed here for 2 nights ( over 2 separate weekends) . There was a fantastic atmosphere in the village on our first stay - thanks to a professional cycle race and market. The hotel itself is very comfortable, the staff are very friendly and the breakfast was lovely- especially the pastries and delicious yogurts. It's a shame the restaurant was not open at all during our stay….but luckily the bar was. We stayed in a river view room on the first occasion and a standard room on the second…both were lovely.

"Excellent stay"
FiveDivers, 10 Août 2022

Nice little hotel in a small town about 20 minutes drive to Mt St Michel. Super small town with great boulangeries for breakfast. Hotel located on the river with locals fishing outside your window. Super friend staff. Safe, clean, comfortable.

"Nice Hotel, Location, & View"
BRIAN W, 01 Juillet 2022

Very nice hotel adjacent to the river. Our room was clean and attractive. So too were all the public areas. At least some of the rooms and the dining room provide pleasant views of the river. Parking is adequate and convenient. The staff was courteous and helpful. All in all, a very nice place to spend an evening.

"Cosy and calm"
pjwgolfing2022, 05 Avril 2022

A charming spot quiet and calm. Hotel staff all friendly and helpful. Nice rooms with comfy beds. Evening meal option was excellent despite limited choice and the staff gave great service. Faultless experience

"Disappointing experience"
Juliadrusilla, 28 Octobre 2021

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. We could have lived with the boring breakfast, the bad wifi, the low quality dinner. But what was lacking most was any kind of warmth or interest from the staff. We stayed at this hotel for seven nights. They have 38 rooms. Every morning they asked us for the room number in order to have breakfast. The guy at reception never said hello, bonjour or how are you. The serving lady picked a fight with my husband when he dared to complain about some people not wearing masks. All in all we regretted our decision to book this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone.

"Great stop near the Mont Saint Michel"
Z6570SSclairer, 18 Juillet 2021

Hotel is well located, less than 20mins away from the Mont Saint Michel. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and I slept well. Breakfast is included in the rate and even though there are covid restrictions, there is plenty of choice and it was delicious. There is parking across the hotel, it wasn't full when I arrived, but might be hard to find a space if the hotel is full. They also have a small elevator to go from street level to the hotel check in area, it's very handy to not carry luggage for a flight of stairs. I highly recommend to stop here.

"Visit to Lower Normandy and Mont St Michel"
Despina Maria V, 12 Juillet 2021

Excellent location as we were able to visit both the Mont St Michel and parts of the Brittany Provence as well as Lower Normandy and some of the D-Day Beaches and museums. The Hotel is in a small town and is a converted Mill which is part of the charm. Beautiful location and trail paths. Rooms are rather small but that added to the overall atmosphere. We were there late June 2021 and one of the first Americans to visit this location as France had just opened up to overseas tourists.

"A room with a view"
Marcvvdw, 12 Février 2021

The view from my room looking over the river and the bridge, during the snowy night was out of this world. But even on a sunny days the surroundings of the hotel are fairytale like . Dinner and breakfast where of excellent quality and with regional products.

"Charming little village"
Sascha D, 11 Septembre 2020

Hotel ideally situated for prolonged walks and bycicle tours. Very charming, it's actually a repurposed mill. Room was big enough and comfortable. Dinner was a three course menu and very delicious. Breakfast had everything one could want, even though free access was limited due to the Covid virus. The hotel had a free parking right across the street. We were very satisfied with our pick.

"Lovely quiet location on the river and close to town"
pickblue, 15 Novembre 2019

A lovely night stay with comfy bed, good sized room and great view over the river an the bridge. The bathroom was a little small, but clean. The staff were excellent and even helped me with my spoken french. We ate dinner around the corner and there is a great choice of restaurants in the town as well as the menu at the hotel (although we did not try that)

"Just ok..."
Shch25, 28 Octobre 2019

Pros: they give you the option of getting an express breakfast for half the price - piece of bread, a mini pastry, hot beverage and orange juice for half the price ($6). Complimentary parking. Cons: there's a weird odor resembling a hospital or something stale, the water pressure in the shower was really weak, hair dryer was also super weak, bathroom needed an upgrade, the person who checked us in was a little off-putting...

"Wonderful hotel near Mont-Saint-Michel!"
286gil, 05 Octobre 2019

Charming hotel in a quiet little town. Extremely courteous staff. The view from the room's window was the most beautiful we had in a long time. The contrast between the modern decor of the hotel and the old mill gives a wonderful feeling.

"Awesome stay"
265aniac, 22 Septembre 2019

We spent 2 nights in the hotel in this little charming village. We had a room with the view on the river which was a bit aside, not overlooking the main part of the river and there was absolutely no noise during the night. The view from the room early in the morning with a bit of fog was stunning. The breakfast is tasty with a bariery of fresh products. The parking is big.

"Excellent stop over hotel"
Ashley P, 11 Août 2019

Right so I have given this excellent. And that is because it was and did exactly what was required. Stop-over for a family on their way home from summer holiday in France. Nice, clean, friendly, good breakfast. Convenient for the auto-route and in a lovely village. The building itself is really interesting being an old mill. It is not a fancy place but for the right purpose highly recommended.

"very nice location, fantastic cuisine"
eczarn116886, 29 Juillet 2019

very good hotel, breakfast, restaurant and staff, fantastic location. Very close to Mont Saint Michel, Omaha Beach and other attractive destinations. Worth visiting. The only pitfall is lack of air-conditioning

"Excellent "
lllaura8, 17 Juillet 2019

The service at this hotel is fabulous. The woman who greeted us was friendly and helpful. Our room had enough outlets for us to charge our devices. I loved that there was an outlet tower on either side of the bed. Breakfast was good. I tried the natural yogurt with rhubarb since I hadn't had that before and really enjoyed it. The drive to Mont St. Michel is short, 10-15 minutes, and there are restaurants in walking distance.

"Charming ‘boutique' hotel by the river"
tfc10, 09 Juillet 2019

Booked one night in this beautifully restored old water mill in this pretty small town on our way back home as it's only about 45 min drive to St Malo ferry port. The place has a boutique hotel feel with clean, impressive interior design and friendly, efficient staff. A lift provided access to our 2nd floor attic room, which was big enough with a superb view over the river and weir. The only issue was the low ceiling in the bathroom which was rather inconvenient for someone well over 6 foot tall. Dinner and buffet breakfast in the beautifully set out restaurant were both exceptionally good.

"Wonderful stay in small town"
Besteegirl, 08 Juin 2019

Stayed here just one night on our way from Caen to Saint Malo. It was a wonderful option for visiting Mt St Michel, if you have a car. Much preferable to the throngs of tourists staying close to the Mont. Beautiful small town. Loved the view over the river and the sound of the rushing water, ear plugs were on nightstand for those preferring a quieter night. The breakfast buffet was perfect, enough for adults and kids to like. Very helpful and friendly staff. My kids loved this stay!

"Perfect option"
GlobeTrip78, 02 Juin 2019

if you travel close to Mount Saint Michel it's a perfect option because it s close and it s a nice place. i recommend it. the space is big, clean, and you have a nice room. free park it's also included. The staff is very kind and helpful.

"A Hidden Gem ♥"
Adventure49030567891, 06 Mai 2019

We found this Quaint hotel by accident and were delighted with the Staff - the rooms and the View. We overlooked the River Selûne and found the sound of the river soothing and restful. We have heard others found it too loud but the staff requested we look & listen Before assigning the room. The staff were so proud of their Hotel & Village and very happy to share their knowledge & enthusiasm. It's a short drive to Mont-Saint-Michel - and not too far from the Normandy Museums. Our next trip to France we will be Back!

"Great little hotel in a quaint little village"
rhokanson, 01 Avril 2019

The view from our room was the best part of this hotel, which is right on the river. A little footpath along the river begins in the parking lot, and it is a lively little village, just 30 minutes from Mont Saint Michel.

"Great experience "
160agnieszkab, 16 Mars 2019

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for two nights. Our room and bathroom were spotless. We had a great view over the river. Very nice breakfast with a good selection of food. Overall highly recommended.

"Excellent overnight stay"
Pat P, 21 Décembre 2018

We hadn't booked in advance, but turned up. The receptionist showed us to a room to see if it was OK for us, because some people had said that they had been disturbed by the sound of the mill race, but to be honest we couldn't hear it through the double glazing. We took the option to include dinner and breakfast, so for €139 we had a good night's sleep, an excellent three course meal (though choices were limited), and a buffet style serve yourself continental breakfast. Would go back again.

"GREAT Stay"
2018helin, 31 Juillet 2018

Wow, super friendly, clean, hot water, great bed, mini bar, great bfast buffet! Ducey is small with only a couple restaurants but found a nice pizza/pasta place 8 mins up the hill.Look at tripadvisor and it will be there. Very scenic, I guess if you think the sounds of a stream are noisy it would be a problem, but we loved the ambiance. Absolutely would stay again for a day or two.

"Very Noisy "
KevinC1960, 02 Juillet 2018

Saw the hotel on booking.com set on the banks of a river looked positive so booked it for 3 nights. The hotel is immaculate the rooms are very well appointed very clean and comfortable the food excellent.HOWEVER the hotel is a converted water mill we were given room no1 a very well appointed room, first thing we did wAs open the window the noise was incredible the sound was like an express train traveling through a station at over 100 mph but constant! The temperature was in the high 20s so as the room or the hotel has zero air conditioning the window had to be open! There was a small but ineffectual portable fan which was not any help at all, the issue is the hotel is situated next to a weir on the river as well as two mill races all of which are essentially waterfalls and incredibly noisy! For two nights I had no sleep as it was very hot if I opened the window it was very noisy!! Asked to be moved to another room. Was told l should have worn earplugs! They can bugger off I do NOT book into a hotel and expect to wear earplugs to get a decent nights sleep.we were moved to a room on the other side of hotel actually less noisy but still warm. To sum up the hotel is very clean, rooms well appointed and clean staff excellent, BUT the hotel is totally let down by lack of air conditioning which is totally essential especially in room 1 for that reason I cannot recommend the hotel as our stay was very disappointing.

"pearl in normandy"
shaihoshkover, 18 Juin 2018

big, nice and clean room in a good price very pleasant reception staff. they did their best to make us feel comfortable - and even arranged us a baby bed though we forgot to order. they also upgraded the room to a bigger one so that there will be enough space for the baby bed good quality wifi

"Peaceful Setting"
W4711NL, 05 Juin 2018

A perfect stop over in a small french town, Perfect setting for pictures and for walking in town. On site parking, a very good breakfast strong WIFI and a very welcoming staff. Excellent location to explore Mont St Michel and the American Military Cemetery in St James.

"Hidden Gem"
Rebecca S, 03 Juin 2018

Was absolutely amazed by this hotel . The rooms are extremely clean and well furnished and the location is superb . What makes it amazing is the service with nothing too much trouble . Has a lovely small hotel charm . The village itself is well kept and we had an excellent Pizza at restaurant close by . Would recommend and stay again without a doubt xxx

"Good but not brilliant"
599thchris, 01 Mars 2018

Best western chain hotel in pleasent village setting. Hotel it's self very clean and rooms good. Staff friendly and speak good English. Downside is no real choice of eateries in village which leaves hotel. Food at hotel very good quality and reasonably priced, but is in high demand as all guests use it and and our experience was not great as long wait and poor communication over it. It appeared hotel was short staffed...if looking to stay in this particular location best hotel choice, but we won't stay again, as so many other places available with more evening meal options.

"lovely location. great service"
CalGirl1982, 20 Décembre 2017

we stayed here on the way to Mont. St. Michel. The small town was charming and the hotel itself (named for a mill), is situated over the river. The sunsets make for amazing photos. Breakfast was worth the cost, a full spread with many options. Rooms was just as expected and pictured. They were not large, but enough room to be comfortable. The location has a lot to offer. Modern hotel in the center of town.

"Ok hotel"
Caraline920, 07 Novembre 2017

Compared to USA standards, I would rate this hotel a 2.5 star as I don't consider it quite a 3 star. We came in late and left early but the hotel made both of our allergies act up which I assume was dust. The bed wasn't that comfortable and you could tell the hotel could use some upgrades. We checked out breakfast but passed since it didn't look all that great. Personally I wouldn't stay there again.

"A comfortable stay"
Jackie C, 30 Octobre 2017

Comfortable room although only French tv channels, world news channel eg BBC or Sky News would be nice. Very friendly and accommodating staff, especially Cecilia. Restaurant was adequate. Would stay again and would recommend!

"Another great visit"
Oceanrice1, 09 Octobre 2017

This was our second visit to the Best Western Le Moulin De Ducey. Stayed one night with two other couples, while visiting Mont St. Michel. We truly love this Hotel. A converted old Mill on the river Selune in the traditional little french village of Ducey. The Hotel is perfect; clean, spacious, well appointed rooms. Large outdoor parking area across from the Hotel entrance. Excellent hot and cold breakfast buffet. The charming lady at the Front Desk was extremely nice and handled the check-in of our 3 rooms beautifully. Her english was very good and her personality even better. Very pleasant stay.

"Quaint, Cozy and fabulous!"
marlo625, 01 Octobre 2017

Our stay at the Best Western Le Moulin De Ducey was exceptional. The French staff were extremely helpful and kind and did understand and speak English. Since our French language skills were not the best, they also made a dinner reservation for us at a nearby restaurant. Our room was very clean, had a comfortable bed, and a spectacular view. Parking was free and convenient. Breakfast, the following morning, had a variety of foods and beverages that were very tasty. I would highly recommend staying here!

"Just of the Voie Verte"
Ian C, 01 Septembre 2017

Perfect location for us, just off the Voie Verte. Our cycles were stored overnight behind a locked compound. Room was comfortable, we had opted for the river view which was well worth the extra. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but the receptionist gave recommendations on where to eat. Breakfast had a good selection to choose

"Excellent location and hotel ideal,"
avisanddavid, 26 Août 2017

Booked this hotel as part of a package with Brittant ferries . Everything was perfect Staff extremely helpful and friendly . View from bedroom windup across the river was delighted . You can access the grounds via the underground walkway . Breakfast good cold meats and cheeses and plenty of bread and cakes . The restaurant offers an excellent menu but not every evening and yiu have to pre book your choice well worth it though . Free wifi Rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean . Hope to return next year

"WOW!"
esmerelda337, 08 Août 2017

We only stayed one night, but would have liked to stayed longer - the hotel is lovely, beautiful setting. We had our room upgraded and it was fabulous - excellent views over the river and the room was lovely, large, clean and very comfortable.

"Lovely location "
Louise m, 12 Juillet 2017

I stayed here for just one night whilst passing through France. I wish we could have stayed longer as the hotel is set in a beautiful location over looking the river. I loved waking up to the sound of water and birds singing. We will definitely be back to explore more of the area and we will stay in the Best Western again.

"An Adequate Overnight Stay en route to Elsewhere"
Guernsey_Tom, 17 Juin 2017

We stayed one night on our way further east. The hotel car park is across a small road but under CCT observation. The hotel is part of the Best Western chain and as such maintains a clean, unfussy establishment which ticks all the boxes for a good night's stay. It is an old mill (the clue's in the name) and straddles part of the river. There is consequently a constant sound of running water but not sufficient to cause us (at least) any problems. There was a fairly busy road about 50 yards from our room but again there was never any intrusive road noise. We dined there. The menu is fairly small and choices and time of dining given when booking. That said, the food was good and satisfying. Breakfast is at the usual time and this was the only time that we felt that standards had slipped slightly. However, this (it turned out) was entirely of our own doing. We thought that we had turned up for breakfast in very good time but were a little dismayed that food choices were severely limited as the help-yourself buffet had not been replenished. This was rectified and it was only when we arrived at our next destination that we realised that our day was 1 hour behind the French day! It is a good hotel for passing trade.

"A nice little place to "Mill' around"
puffinbilly2015, 06 Juin 2017

This was my first stop over, cycling from St Malo to Caen. Ducey is not a large town so finding the hotel was very easy. The staff were friendly and do speak a little english if your french is a bit rusty. The hotel itself is an old mill and backs onto Selune river providing a very picturesque setting. The nearby weir may be a little off putting to some as the noise is constant though I found it very relaxing and slept with the window open. If you are arriving by bicycle, there is a safe place to store it in a small yard behind locked gates. I did see a large car park too if you're driving. The room itself was very clean and well presented, with tea and coffee provided. A restaurant is located on site but I arrived on a public holiday so it wasn't serving food. Fortunately, there is a good pizzeria at the top of town that gets a massive thumbs up as it was the only place open. Like a beacon of hope to a hungry cyclist, a few thousand calories and a couple of beers later, all was well with the world. Breakfast was continental and plentiful and set me up for the mornings ride ahead. Ducey's a pretty little town situated very close to Le Mont St Michel so lends itself to being a base to visit the surrounding area which is rich in historical and visual delights. The hotel does have some electric cycles for hire too and with the La Véloscénie only a short distance away, you can cycle to the "Mount" on a traffic free route. Fabulous.

"Hotel Near Mont Sainte Michel"
PuffTrog, 29 Avril 2017

The best thing about the Best Western Le Moulin De, Ducey is that it is about a 20 minute drive to the parking lots at Mont Sainte Michel. It is otherwise entirely satisfactory but not especially outstanding in any way. I would stay there again if in the area, but not with any particular enthusiasm.

"Comfortable Hotel in great, historic location"
Patrick B, 01 Novembre 2016

My wife and I stayed for one night on our way to see friends in Brittany, with a quick visit to Mont Saint-Michel en route. The hotel sits right next to the 17th Century bridge across the Selune River, which was used by Pilgrims travelling to Mont Saint-Michel. The lady at check in was very friendly and helpful, sorting us out for dinner at a local pizza restaurant (which was superb). The room was a little small, but very well equipped, clean and functional and suited us for a one night stay. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied. Easy parking, just across the road for the Hotel Reception. Ducey is a pretty market town and we would have liked to have spent more time there, but our schedule didn't allow. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Nice place, but the mattresses were totally worn out"
TravelSiMa, 20 Octobre 2016

Nice idea –a hotel in an old mill. We stayed here for 3 nights to explore Mt. St. Michel (20 min by car) and the opposite coast side at Genets for a hike with views to Mt. St. Michel. We had a room facing the river and the bridge where you come into Ducey when arriving. The room was nice, although furnishing was a bit old, the same with the bathroom, and we found some unpleasant spots here and there on the curtain, on the floor and so on. On top, the bed's mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, seemed to be totally worn out. Good things: location itself, as it is a nice Norman little town and you are right in the middle of it in an old mill building. You can sit on the hotel's garden peninsula, enjoy the fruit trees while watching the water and the old buildings around and having a glass of Cidre. If you like Pizza: go to Pizzeria La Marionette for dinner, located just 5min walk from the Hotel. Excellent Pizzas and delicious salads.

"Very relaxing stay."
Adam F, 16 Octobre 2016

Very relaxing stay at the side of a river in a lovely hotel. They even allowed the dog to come sit with us in the restaurant as long as he didn't bother any other guests. There wasn't a lot to do in the town as it was a Sunday but it seemed quaint and typically French. A very satifying stay.

"Good value short stay hotel."
Sally R, 12 Octobre 2016

We stayed for 2 nights with main purpose of visiting Mont St Michael. Very clean and comfortable room . Breakfasts were fine, (american buffet style), and the bread was lovely. Excellent coffee as well. This was available at any time which was a real bonus. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. It is ideal for visiting Mont St Michael. The little town of Ducey is very pretty; easy walk into the town for restaurants.

"Best little hotel I've ever stayed at!"
mmargo3537, 20 Septembre 2016

I cannot say enough good things about this quaint little hotel! Staff was GREAT! They went out of their way to make our experience wonderful! The food is delicious! The rooms are tad small but have everything you need for your stay.Restrooms very clean and large. The view - WOW!.....If you are in this area, this is the place to visit.

"Great place to stay"
64falcon260, 19 Septembre 2016

Ducey is a wonderful little town. Friendly locals, a few shops and restaurants and a great base to visit mont saint michel and normandy in general. We rented a car in Paris and drove to Normandy. the hotel was fine - good value for the money. We skipped the breakfast and just went for a walk and picked up croissants etc at the bakery up the street. Horses next door in the pasture was a wonderful bonus!.

"Enchanted place "
AhasverSaoPaulo, 24 Août 2016

We used this hotel as our base for visits to Mt. St. Michel, St. Malo and Granville for which purpose it is almost ideally located. We also loved the enchanted flair of this old mill turned modern hotel. The friendly staff was very helpful and made our stay a very pleasant one. They offered to sell us tickets for the Mt. St. Michel monastery with (the Mont itself is free) with even a money back guarantee in case we felt too exhausted to make the climb.... The mill and the old bridge area nicely illuminated at night. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was okay. Instead of Individual toiletries there is a wall mounted dispenser above the bath tub. Breakfast was €12 an worth its price. The hotel offers a large free parking lot right across the (narrow) street.

"Nice hotel, friendly staff"
aleksander s, 15 Août 2016

Hotel in old mill on the river bank, old from outside, modern inside. Very frindly staff, room were clean nad modern, our had a nice view on the river. We stayed one night on the way to Mount Saint Michel, which is less than 30 minutes drive from hotel. The Ducey vilage is small, some nice houses and cathedrale to see. Free wifi and parking.

"Romantic"
entropy71, 08 Août 2016

Romantic little hotel next to a picturesque bridge. There is no mill to be seen, maybe inside some building. Some guests complained about the loud rapids, but the river was very relaxing for us. In any case, it was too cold to keep the window open, even in June. Maintenance was not the best: cracked mirror, cracked window. Small but adequate breakfast for 12 EUR. Ample free parking across the narrow street. Walking distance to a gourmet restaurant (Auberge Selun) - reservation advised. Great base for visiting Mont St. Michelle.

"Delightful place, comfortable hotel"
986tina, 05 Août 2016

Really enjoyed Le Moulin - room was compact but adequate, clean and comfortable. Staff helpful and pleasant and breakfast included a good variety. Well located near restaurants, unfortunately the chef was having an operation so no evening meal in the hotel however a choice of alternatives were available within walking distance. Ducey is a delightful village. Would come again - not the cheapest option, but with the £/€ exchange rate nowhere in France is good value.

"Comfort & Cozy"
AMRHoliday, 04 Août 2016

Quaint little hotel in Ducey, ideal if you are visiting Mont Sant Michael and want to stay away from the regular tourist hotel and experience local village life at its best. Comfortable and Cozy rooms and helpful staff make it a pleasant experience overall.

"Comfortable stay"
Axell33, 03 Août 2016

We found our stay here comfortable. The view over the river was lovely and the hotel was a short walk to the main part of town. The room was comfortable and staff very helpful. We had dinner here one of the nights and it was very nice. We would happily stay here again.

"Great little gem"
Pardeep D, 02 Août 2016

quaint little hotel run by very friendly staff. They explained everything in English and provided excellent instructions. WiFi passed the kids test. Breakfast was very good. I love the little village environment. Good restaurant within walking distance.

"Comfortable Stopover"
Iain R, 21 Juillet 2016

Stayed on the way back to Calais. On arrival tge welcome was very friendly. The room overlooked the river, was small but perfectly equipped with everything needed, even a shoe horn. The place was very clean. Breakfast was excellent with quality products on offer. Recommended for a short stay.

"decent value for the price"
socaltraveller18, 20 Juillet 2016

Very nice people that work in the hotel, as Best Westerns go the property is above average. Good breakfast spread and the staff is attentive. Downside is a hard bed and although they say they don't need air conditioning, it's been hot and humid this week and not having air conditioning really was an issue. The hotel does its job as an inexpensive functional hotel near Mt. St. Michel, but the rooms aren't anything special with cramped restrooms and a small work area.

"Beautiful hotel in perfect surroundings."
torbenmoller, 20 Juillet 2016

Picture perfect hotel with great rooms, great food and great people. Located in small village with many nice buildings. Great view to the river. City is small so limited activities. Short drive to Mt. St. Michell.

"Lovely fresh hotel."
Lynnie97, 08 Juillet 2016

This was a pleasant surprise. Lovely and clean overlooking the river. It's also dog friendly. There's parking, lovely walks and it's in a delightful spot. The restaurant is ok but gourmet food lovers should eat out perhaps. The staff are helpful (Cecilia in particular), making lots of stuff easier.

"Quaint"
Sagittarius09, 05 Juillet 2016

A very quaint hotel in a very quaint village! Lovely friendly receptionists. Clean and tidy room with good facilities. The restaurant wasn't that great but was convenient as there wasn't a lot open the night we were in Ducey, I heard a lot of beeps from the microwave.

"Fabulous stay."
jean w, 29 Juin 2016

A warm welcome on arrival, all the staff speak perfect English and cannot do enough to make your stay perfect. Our room was on the first floor, lift in hotel, our room overlooked the fabulous weir, very clean, had everything you need, minibar, hairdryer, toiletries, free bottle of water, kettle and tea and coffee,tv with English news channel, even a fan in the room which was most welcome. Very comfortable bed with good bedding, stayed for one night at the start of our holiday and booked another night for the end of our holiday.the staff even let us have the same room. The breakfast was perfect, the Danish pastries were divine, the evening meal was beautiful, different menu each night. I could have stayed here much longer, we were very comfortable and the staff were superb.exceptional value for money.

"Puts customer service first"
fifytyplus, 26 Juin 2016

A combination of modern decor and clever design makes this converted mill look surprisingly large and grand. Public rooms are light and airy, there is a lift to upper floors and soft-close doors everywhere ensure you aren't disturbed by banging doors. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful throughout. We were given a free upgrade to a Superior Riverside Room. It wasn't huge or particularly deluxe (the bath was quite small, in fact) but was very well-appointed with useful things like tower multi-sockets that popped up out of the surface, a magnifying shaving mirror and dimming bedside lights. The river view was absolutely delightful, but the river was full after heavy rain and we found the weir kept us awake, despite double glazing! We had found the websites quite confusing on catering, so ate en-route. In fact, the hotel serves simple meals and bar snacks on evenings, but also provides a canteen area, for those wanting to picnic. Breakfast was a good-standard French buffet, clean and well-stocked - we found the fresh fruit juices especially good.

"Beautiful hotel, in perfect setting"
Ton L, 22 Juin 2016

A beautiful hotel in perfect setting in the lovely village of Ducey. Very nice personal reception and if the restaurant with lovely meals. Good breakfast. Ideal location for excursions to Mt. St. Michel, Cancale and St Malo. A place that we will surely come back if we are in the same area.

"Fantastic hotel"
Tina_Pads, 19 Juin 2016

Loved our stay in this hotel! It's position is stunning, the rooms are very clean with lovely views. The highlight of our stay though has to be the wonderful staff, nothing was to much trouble for the lady on reception she was just lovely!!

"Super hotel all round"
HazelK, 14 Juin 2016

We stayed here for one night during a cycling tour of Normandy. We arrived mid afternoon and were upgraded to an executive room overlooking the river. There was a party of American/Canadian cyclists also staying that night but there was still plenty of secure parking for our bikes at the hotel The staff at the hotel were very warm and friendly, we were given recommendations for eating out and the room was clean and with enough room for us and all our stuff. The room would not have suited everyone as it was over the river which was quite noisy, it wasn't too bad with the windows shut but if it was a hot night it would have been difficult to sleep for some people I'm sure. We had breakfast the next day which was perfectly fine, a good selection of cereals, cheese, fruits and breads. Just what was needed for a day in the saddle. Whilst this was a chain hotel it didn't have that feel on account of the staff who really were very nice and made us feel very welcome. Wifi was easy to connect to and it's within walking distance of the town centre. There was also a fridge in our room which we didnt' use but I'm sure some people would in the summer months to chill a bottle of something to drink whilst looking out over the river, which lights up in the evening.

"Consistently excellent"
RuthieH, 12 Juin 2016

We have been to this hotel on a number of occasions and I have been meaning to post a review for ages. My last stay here was in April and we normally come every year around that time as we visit my sister who lives nearby. We have been for the past nine years and would never stay anywhere else. We only have good things to say. The staff are excellent and on our most recent stay the receptionist Cecilia helped us when my husband had a flat tyre and very quickly found us a garage that could help and sorted it all out so avoided a very stressful situation. She could not have been more efficient. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and the beds are really comfy. Plus it is so quiet and you never hear any noise from other people. The added bonus of being on the river makes it even more perfect and the windows open up wide enough to get a nice breeze when it's warm which is important to us as so many hotel rooms can be really hot and stuffy. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty and constantly replenished so there is always more than enough for everyone. In the years that we have been going the owners have made lots of improvements and are continually thinking of new ideas although we think the hotel is lovely already but it's good that they care enough to do these things. There is also ample parking which is really useful. Ducey is a lovely quiet, quaint little village so you will definitely have a wonderful stay.

"Amazing Hotel"
andyandtrudie, 17 Mai 2016

We stayed for one night after having to unexpectedly drive up from Spain through France after the Brittany Ferries ferry from Santander to Portsmouth was cancelled. We stayed in a second floor river view room with our dog. The view from the room was amazing, especially after dark when the hotel and bridge are illuminated. The Management are really friendly and helpful and recognised us from a previous stay last year. The rooms are fairly small but with all amenities and very comfortable beds. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

"Perfect hotel for visit Mont Saint Michel"
682vladimirm, 09 Mai 2016

For those who travel by car this Hotel is best option to stay if you want to visit Mont Saint Michel. Located very close to parking lot of Mont Saint Michel (10 minutes driving) the Hotel offers very convenient overnight staying in very comfortable rooms. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Some rooms have wonderful views of the river and old bridge.

"Couldn't ask for much more"
Cindy H, 28 Avril 2016

We stayed one night to be close to Mont St Michele (10 min) so we could get an early start the next morning. It was perfect. The room was well appointed and a nice size. Wifi worked well. Also offer a washer/dryer for guest use. Free guest parking was convenient and pretty much right outside the door. There's breakfast and I believe evening food service as well. The staff were fantastic and couldn't be more accommodating ensuring we had everything we needed. The town of Ducey is quaint and lovely for a walk around although not much available for evening entertainment.

"Lovely hotel near Mont St-Michel "
Sudriveraine, 24 Avril 2016

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as part of a family trip to Normandie in April 2016. I chose it as it was convenient to both Mont St-Michel and St-Malo, without the very high cost of hotels in both of those locations. It proved to be an excellent choice. The hotel is located in a former mill beside the Selune river in the small town of Ducey. The mill has been turned into a charming small hotel with about 20 rooms. The hotel provides free parking across the street and has a very small but functional elevator. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk staff was charming. Breakfast is a little pricy at 12€ but we found it worth it as it was delicious. It featured boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon, cold cuts, various cheeses, yogurt, cereal, fresh bread/croissants/pastries, small crepes, juices and coffee. If you would like to eat breakfast at the hotel you need to let the front desk know the night before so they can adjust their food purchases accordingly. Our room was on the second floor, just under the roof, facing the waterfall on the river. It was fairly large with a comfortable bed and a desk area. The bathroom was a nice size, with a full sized tub with shower. There was also a closet and a minibar. Everything was clean and in good condition. Complimentary bottled water was offered and the WiFi worked well. The room was very quiet and we never heard the neighbors. Last but not least, dinner is available at the hotel for 22€50 for a 3 course meal. You need to reserve in advance and let the front desk know what you would like to eat when you reserve so they can plan accordingly. We had dinner there on the first night and it was delicious, highly recommended! Overall, this hotel is an excellent choice and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to explore the Mont St-Michel area.

"Very friendly owners. Excellent location"
grizzly_travel, 22 Avril 2016

We had hoped to book a hotel closer to Mont St. Michel but these were either booked or had very sketchy reviews. We ended up booking at the Moulin de Ducey and were very happy. The owners are extremely friendly and clearly enjoy running the hotel. They were very accommodating and spent a considerable time helping us plan our excursions to the Abbey and other local attractions.

"LOVED our stay"
Kukla17, 16 Avril 2016

What a cute hotel!!! The location is lovely as it overlooks the river and bridge. The staff are very friendly, attentive and informative. Very close to Mont Saint-Michel. Used the hotel as our base for exploring the WWII sights. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Will highly recommend this hotel. Loved our French breakfast too.

"Its ok not great, but cheap! Beware of their PET policy."
EChong2014, 15 Avril 2016

Beware of this hotel's pet policy. We have book this hotel because they allow dogs and we paid the surcharge for it happily HOWEVER we were not aware their fine print till it was too late. We have been traveling around France with our dog without any problem since we made sure all the hotel we stayed in allow dogs. However we have encounter this hotel that allow dogs but they are not allow by them self in the room... This is a problem for us as some touristic sites do not allow pets, we are not going to leave our dog in the car for hours to visit an attraction more over it was humiliating when we have our breakfast in the morning we have to take him into the car until we finish the breakfast since he is not allow to be in the room by him self " thank goodness the weather was not warm or we would have changed hotel " . We are not going to bring our dog to the breakfast area in a busy hotel with people running around with potential of disturbing others. Long story short I believe if the hotel can not allow the pet in the room by them self they should drop their pet friendly policy since we pay extra for the dog to stay with us.

"Excellent stay!"
Bill_Louk, 12 Avril 2016

I spend two nights at this jewel! To start with, location was excellent, just 15 minutes drive from St. Michel. But this is not the point. The point is the hotel itself. Located by a river, offering magnificent view over it (at least my room and its restaurant), service and the attitude of the staff was very attentive! Definitely worth visiting!

"Short Break in Normandy"
SocoFred, 09 Avril 2016

We were only there for 3 days but the staff are very welcoming and helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and simple. Breakfast simple but plentiful and with a lovely view of the river and bridge. Very fast WiFi in the room and a private car park with lots of space.

"Paper napkin?"
Bernard C, 27 Mars 2016

Nothing wrong with the hotel. Friendly reception Good rooms Well located Simple but adequate french breakfast But I could hardly find my paper napkin which was smaller than my spectacle tissue. Why to save on a piece of paper?? Does this need more than 200 words?

"Great welcome and excellent base to discover the Region"
XavierCh, 20 Février 2016

The Moulin de Ducey is a very original place, located in a old water mill this place is really nice. Rooms are simple but clean. Welcome from the owners is excellent an they are doing everything possible to satisfy their customer. they are also of good advice if you want to discover the region.

"Wonderful accomodation"
Travel19792014, 18 Février 2016

We needed a place not too far from Mont St Michel, and this was the ticket! Ducey is a pleasant little town, and this establishment is lovingly cared for. The owners were very friendly and helpful - you won't be disappointed.

"Two steps from Mont Saint Michel"
DmitryZverevMosc, 06 Janvier 2016

Stayed there for a night during rainy night on March 2015. No other hotels were on service at that time of year. Fortunately Best Western in always the best! We were pleased to see what a beatutiful view from old moulin (mill) to the river...

"Beautiful setting"
Demmy97, 26 Novembre 2015

This village is beautiful, however the view from the hotel of the river and waterfall made our visit! The welcome we received from the hostess on arriving and every time we entered the lobby was wonderful. The morning breakfast of an assortment of delicious pastries and fruits started our days of exploring the beautiful French countryside.

"The staff REALLY made the difference here."
Doc1213, 25 Novembre 2015

We drove (blindly) to Ducey and chose the Best Western "brand" because of our previous experience. This is without a doubt a gem of a hotel owned and operated by a wonderful couple. (Say hello to Patricia for us). They showed us the rooms available before hand, treated us with care and were very friendly. Patricia speaks extremely good English! Their dinner menu varies each evening and you will never be disappointed. We chose a room over the old mill (for which the hotel is named) and the bridge is lighted at night under the arches. It is a wonderful place to stay and we cannot say enough about the owners! Have fun here.

"Great location"
janej565, 25 Novembre 2015

Loved this quaint hotel in the city of Ducey, France not far from Mont St Michel. The owners of the hotel were very helpful with what to see in the area and suggestions for restaurants. Rooms are very quiet and they also offer dinner every night except Sunday. It is new and they want to try it out to see if people like it.

"A warm welcome and comfortable stay."
denc, 22 Novembre 2015

We had a lovely welcome from the lady on reception who spoke good English. Our room was compact, but comfortable, and spotless, with a good bed and lovely French sheets and good pillows. We slept well. We did not eat at the hotel but had a pizza in the village which was just five minutes walk. The hotel is situated in a quiet nice area on the edge of the river. We had a good breakfast with everything you could expect from a French hotel. Good value for money with the bonus of free private parking. Would recommend without hesitation.

"Charming"
Joyce P, 28 Octobre 2015

Check-in was easy with friendly service. The rooms over the river have a fabulous view. Coffee maker in room is a plus with USB charging ports. Free WiFi .Easy free parking across the street. The only downside is rooms are small.

"Great service"
Alla T, 19 Octobre 2015

great service ever. Cecilia was the best host!!!!!!!!! Clean , quiet, historical location.... unfortunately, we spent there only 1 night, net time i'll book this location for sure. Nice room decor, specious, big bathroom with windows...etc

"Beautiful and extremely comfortable stay"
davenrich, 14 Octobre 2015

We stayed for 2 nights while we visited Mont St. Michel and also St. Malo. We were looking for a small village that was close to historic sites without all the tourists and traffic. In Ducey, we found this lovely hotel. Our room was small (like many European hotel rooms) but immaculate and comfortable. The view outside our room was soooo beautiful. Make sure you get a river view room. The breakfasts were very good too. But besides for the setting, the best thing about this hotel was the staff. They went over and beyond to be helpful and informative. Celeste was a dream! We were able to catch up on laundry in the hotel too. And the private little island!!! Wonderful! I hope to return!

"Best Ever"
Linda W, 09 Octobre 2015

The area was enchanting and we had a corner room to be able to hear the river at night and see the lighting of the bridge. Appreciated that this hotel honors my husband's service as a veteran by giving a nice discount even on the best rooms. The managers were very friendly and helpful. We even had the fun of attending an open air market just one block from the Hotel. The dinners were delicious and very affordable.

"Wonderful stay"
malesh, 06 Octobre 2015

Our second visit to this lovely, friendly hotel and it is even better now they do delicious evening meals at the weekend. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Breakfasts are delicious with plenty of fresh options. Our room overlooked the weir, which lulled us to sleep every night. We were lucky with the weather to enjoy sundowners on the hotel's private island. Many thanks to all the staff.

"Perfect hotel in a lovely Village"
Norman S, 02 Octobre 2015

Stayed two nights and was very happy with the large, comfortable room with a river view. A nice bonus were the charging poles in the night tables for all those peck your electronic we seem to drag on vacation these days. By leaning out one of my windows I could easily the historic bridge and weir. Staff were efficient and helpful and the breakfast was very generous for the 11 euro price. Would stay there again as it was a great base from which to visit Mont St Michel, Dinan, Fourgeres or St malo and is not that far from the invasion beaches.

"I asked for a quiet room it was so peaceful!"
Ellieexhibition, 01 Octobre 2015

This hotel is wonderful, the rooms are perfectly adequate size wise and the bathrooms are lovely! It's all very clean. Having a heated towel rail in the bathroom is a bonus because you can have dry towels in the morning if you shower the night before as well! The reception staff are so friendly, they have spares (toothbrushes etc!) and they can recommend nice places to eat. There is a pizzaria in town which is about 3 minutes walking distance and the food is great. There's the availability of everything from steak, to bolognese, margarita pizza, salads for the plain lovers like me - or much more adventurous foods for those who like more adventurous foods! The town is lovely and peaceful, there is a long walk/cycle path from the hotel which goes for miles, I went for a run as soon as I got here and the next morning like I would at home, and never saw a single person each time!

"Equally as good this time"
DeanWorcestershireUk, 30 Septembre 2015

Revisited the Mill at Ducey and it has been refurbished since 2012. Had a room overlooking the old bridge for that pretty view. The hotel is still as good . we took the breakfast which was good, pastries , cheese, bacon, eggs, fruit, a bit more than a french breakfast. No evening meal option but excellent restaurant just around the corner. Staff helpfull and the hotel is easy to find from the motorway, with it's own car park out front, choose this place if you want to visit the Mont st Michel as it's not far away. Very pleasant i will be back.

"I would stay here again and again."
jpmorgan, 29 Septembre 2015

How do you describe a hotel that feels more like visiting good friends after only the first night? A comfortable room with a view to die for, a quiet location in a friendly village and staff that make you feel at home from the moment you check in. The room we were given had a view of the old mill stream and, on opening the window, were welcomed by the sound of a small waterfall. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate. Wifi was excellent but that's not what you are here for. The village of Ducey is utterly charming, not for it's history (which it has by the bucketload) but for it's people. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful and welcoming. We tried two local restaurants and both were staffed by wonderful folks who, sorry for being repetitious, were very welcoming. The village is close to a whole lot of different sites so it works very well as a base to discover Basse Normandie or Haute Bretagne. The couple who run this hotel and their staff are outstanding. They work hard and it shows. The property is spotless, the breakfast excellent and the front desk service is outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are ever in the area.

"Beautiful View from the Hotel"
rhysvaz, 29 Septembre 2015

This hotel was a mill once upon a time. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was good. The river runs right behind the hotel and if one opens the window once can hear it.Parking is free so that is a bonus.

"Very comfortable room and pleasant location"
Steve C, 17 Septembre 2015

Stayed here for one night before a ferry home from St Malo the next day - wonderful location overlooking the Sélune river and easy to reach just off the A84. Hotel staff were exceptional - even offering me secure parking for my motorcycle without me asking - top notch! Highly recommended and top of my list of places to stay the next time I visit Brittany.

"Lovely hotel in a lovely location"
Rossco1941, 16 Septembre 2015

The location of the hotel is beautiful, over looking a river and waterfall. The room we had was clean and had two windows with beautiful views on the river and water falls. Bed was super comfortable and loved the bedding and pillows. The only down side was taking a shower, the bathtub was awkward because the floor of it was not flat and slippery and needed a handrail for safety. Should provide facecloths as well as soap products to guests. Would like to mention how very helpful some of the staff were especially Cecelia who greeted us and recommended places to eat as well as Valerie who guided us to mont St. Michel and booked our next hotel room for the next leg of our visit in Normandy. Would recommend this hotel if you are visiting Normandy and want something reasonably priced and comfortable.

"Ideal for for short break"
May C, 15 Septembre 2015

This hotel, an old mill at one time, situated next to a river, was perfect for a couple of days to visit the surrounding area. The interior is modern with clean lines, the fairly basic rooms were comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. The very helpful reception staff spoke wonderful English. Breakfast was reasonably priced, with the typical continental choices being continually replenished. I would definitely recommend if thinking of visiting this area of Normandy

"Les's slow tour de France"
Leslie B, 14 Septembre 2015

A beautiful old Mill. Excellent bottle of French wine in the garden watching the sun go down. Friendly helpful staff and an excellent breakfast. All at a reasonable price made this the highlight of our bike tour of Normandy

"overnght stay"
jnash36685, 12 Septembre 2015

WE stayed here overnight while cycling the veloscenic, we loved it , the rooms were clean and comfortable but what made it for us was the the island garden were we sat and enjoyed a bottle of wine , served by the receptionist who made our stay with her jokes and service ( think her name was Genevieve ) would recommend this hotel , we loved everything about it

"Lovely, peaceful hotel"
WussyT, 12 Septembre 2015

We stayed at this hotel on our return journey through Brittany, and we could not have been made more welcome. The staff really put themselves out to accommodate us together in one corridor (there were five of us), and were only too pleased to give us keys to the little island in the river and show us around. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and modern, with the added benefit of overlooking the peaceful river. Could not fault it.

"Magnifique!!"
PhiljLichfield, 09 Septembre 2015

We have just had a 2 night stay at this hotel. We could not have been treated better. The hotel is situated in a lovely town, ideal for touring the area. Mont St Michelle, Cancale and several lovely beaches are all within an hours drive. The staff are wonderful. Cecilia and Marine are both extremely pleasant. They make you feel very welcome but are also very knowledgeable about the area and helpful as to where to visit. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped with all you may require, including tea/coffee making. Breakfast surprised me in that it included bacon and scrambled egg as well as the normal continental breakfast fare. It was nicely cooked and presented. A really good breakfast. A hotel is a former watermill. The building and grounds are charming and ideal for relaxing and reading a book. Make sure you get the 'special key to the garden' from Cecilia. If you plan to visit the area I could not recommend this hotel highly enough. We will definitely return as we have really enjoyed our stay.

"nice"
Jonas D, 27 Août 2015

nice hotel, breakfast was good. Only point of critic is that there was some weird duff smell in the hotel. Hotel is situated in the 'center' of the town, near a river. Parking is free. People are nice, had no problems.

"Lovely little town. Friendly and helpful staff!"
Shane W, 18 Août 2015

Lovely hotel with gracious and helpful staff. We arrived late and reception was ready for us. Very helpful and graciously spoke English for us, which was not expected, but so very appreciated. She even offered to make a dinner reservation for us. We would definitely stay here again. The hallways and doors are a little funky, but we don't mind that all, and in fact, it adds to the charm!

"Excellent Overnight"
gsxrEastSussex, 01 Août 2015

Stayed here for one night en route further south. Excellent location, easy to find, right by the river. Very picturesque. Modern hotel inside, but old mill on outside. Rooms were clean and modern. We had the dinner which was good value. I wouldn't say great but ok. Service very friendly. Lovely village. Would recommend and close to Mont St Michel too. Good value in all.

"Family Holiday"
Nelson042, 29 Juillet 2015

This hotel, previously an old water mill, was in a wonderful location overlooking the La Selune river. View from our room was lovely. Evening meal and breakfast excellent. Rose de Loire 2014 was a very good bottle of wine! Receptionist Ceciliu was very welcoming and helpful and her English good. The restaurant setting overlooking the river bathed in sunshine was a relaxing experience.

"So many better options"
DarbyStone, 13 Juillet 2015

The hotel is in a wonderful old mill building, it is true, and the lobby has been nicely refurbished. Some of the bathrooms have been reasonably modernized (we took 3 rooms for our family, so we saw some of the variety of the hotel) and are functional enough--but this is the type of hotel that offers no shampoo or soap, resorting instead to a single pump dispenser in the shower. The rooms are tiny and the furniture is dated. It seems as if the hotel does a lot of business with tour groups, which seem to get the best rooms (out of 3 rooms, not one had a good view of the river) and who dominate the common area at night. I do want to praise the woman who is the afternoon/evening manager. She is exceptionally efficient, very helpful and pleasant. Her English is superb. To be sure, there is nothing *wrong* with this property. It's an affordable place in a nice location. There's just nothing that particularly recommends either the hotel itself or, frankly, Ducey. The town is small and sleepy. We were hoping for something that would be charming in the area of St. Michel, but if we had it to do over, we would probably just stay in Pontorson instead--a larger town with more restaurants, more services and more to see. Pontorson is also a relatively short bike ride to Mont Saint-Michel (~4 miles...and it's easy to rent a bike), which may make it a better base for most travelers. I would *not* recommend the hotels that are just across the causeway from MSM itself, as this area feels like a pure tourist depot.

"Lovely , well run & a great night's sleep - if you like rushing water"
GeoffS24, 11 Juillet 2015

Le Moulin is next to the medieval bridge in Ducey & our room overlooked it - with the weir beneath our window. The hotel is actually modern & has clearly been recently spruced up - effectively. It's...

"Exceptional experience"
Larry H, 01 Juin 2015

This was truly an exceptional location, property and staff very near to Mont Saint Michele and many other very interesting sites to visit. This property is at the top of a long list of places we have stayed over years.

"Excellent hotel"
TerryDevizes, 04 Avril 2015

We have stayed in this hotel before and probably will again. Excellent hotel in a quiet location in a small town less than 2 miles from the motorway so ideal for a stop over and verry acceptable for a longer stay.the staff are all very polite and helpful and the you get a very good buffet break fast. There is no restautant at the hotel bit the are restaurants in tha town all within a few miutes walk with a particularly good one about 100 metres away

"Ducey Best Western"
James W, 03 Novembre 2014

Superb location, wonderful ambience, great staff. It is a great place to see Mont St. Michel from. Also it is at the gateway to Brittany and is easy to get to from all directions. Cecilia was great help at check in. It was a pleasure to stay there.

"A beautiful mill on the river"
Majmacc, 25 Octobre 2014

We loved this hotel (built around an old mill) in Ducey. The village is delightfully rural and photographic and it's close to the highway A10 and only 15 minutes to Mt. St. Michel. Rooms were immaculate, as are all common areas. Free parking is right across the street. The family that runs this place are sincerely welcoming and did everything possible to make our visit perfect!

"value for money"

I think this hotel offers good value for money overall but breakfast cost is a little high for what is offered. Staff very friendly and efficient. Overall appearance of the hotel inside and outside is very pleasing to the eye and public spaces are kept tidy and clean

"Nice hotel in a great setting"

Clean comfortable hotel in a beautiful setting--it was a mill at one time and actually is built over a river. Ducey is a lovely, quiet town with a market day on the main street--about a two minute walk from the hotel. Very accommodating owners. Hope to return and would recommend this hotel to others. Sorry we had to leave!

Pretty hotel in lovely village. No restaurant but a number of restaurants/bistros within walking distance. Superior room rather small but the downside was the traffic noise throughout the night, only a couple of vehicles per hour but they generated enough noise to wake me up. no aircon (large fan provided) so windows were kept open.

A basic hotel and not a bad location in which to visit the region. Bed very comfy and clean. Room a little on the small side and in the summer very hot and stuffy, would benefit from aircon. TV sound button is restricted so couldn't turn it up and couldn't hear it so was a waste of space.
