Best Western River North Hotel

Every single employee we came into contact with at this hotel was friendly and helpful. It was clean, had a nice pool, a great deck, and perfect location. It was an easy walk to get to Riverwalk and the Big Bus has a stop less than a block away. Thanks for a great stay!

Sometimes you don't appreciate a property as much as you should until a near disaster occurs. That's what happened to my wife and I on our recent visit to Chicago. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the hotel, it's restaurant and bar just fine. But when we arrived home, we discovered that we had left our valuables in the hotel room safe. We immediately called the property directly and night manager Jason put us on hold while he sent someone to check the safe. In a matter of moments, he told us that he had our valuables and that they would be turned over to housekeeping manager Gladys Morocho. My wife called Gladys the first thing the next morning. Gladys photographed the valuables and texted it to my wife. They then set up Federal Express arrangements to have our valuables returned to our home. We are incredibly relieved to have avoided this disaster and cannot thank the staff at the hotel enough. Truly exceptional and our most grateful thanks. Matt in Salt Lake City

If you are looking for a quiet, restful sleep, do not stay at this hotel. The AC unit was 2 feet from the bed and extremely noisy. You could hear ever sound from the surrounding rooms and hallways. I was on the 4th floor and could hear all of the street noises like I was on the first floor with my window open. The room itself needed repairs and the only chair in the room was broken. The price to park at this lovely hotel is $50 a day so buyer beware on this. Find another place to stay.

This hotel is just “mid”. Pros: Location in city. Offered separate bedroom. Pool/roof nice. Cons: room was dated, windows too high up on wall, can't see out. Bathroom in bedroom, sleep sofa awful, weird layout. Dark. Old furniture. Small elevator. Limited coffee service. Roof deck and pool closed for more than half of visit. Street noise so loud! Should have known when 4 packages of earplugs were on bedside table. We were assigned Rm 542. Room was dated & dark. Sleep sofa VERY uncomfortable. AC struggled. Had to set it to 55 entire time (weather was in 70s, not super hot). Bathroom in bedroom. Can't close door to bedroom or no AC or access to lav. Would not stay here again.

1st contact: more than 20 minutes waiting to check in: only one employee. During our 3 days stay there were queues for each check in/out we saw in the lobby. Then the halls smell…. Bad. Old brown carpets everywhere. You can forget about taking the elevator: only 1 a very slow one always busy: stairs all the time. The air conditioning system in your room is SO loud : don't forget your ear plugs. Coffee in the morning? Yep! Included! It s a machine but it works only from 6 to 9. What a lazy one. Quite convenient Location and clean room though.

The portrayal of this hotel does not reflect what it really is. The 4th floor smelled like the monkey house at the zoo....noise was ridiculous -- sounded like we had an elephant on the 5th floor. No cushions on the top deck furniture. The bar was ok on the first floor. Not comfortable. Will not stay again

Parking is NOT included in your overnight stay. This was not clearly indicated when booking. While the views are pretty, it's not worth the cost

Terrible hotel all around. The photos are very misleading - the rooms, the hallways, and even the lobby look nothing like the photos. We pre booked a one night stay, and as soon as we checked in we did not like the stay. The hallways smelt like mold, the room was very outdated, and the hallway layout is horrendous to be even able to find your room. My fiancé has asthma and being in there for 30 minutes was causing flare ups. We instantly checked out and had to find another hotel. The hotel manager refused to give back our money for a one night stay, even though we checked out within 30 minutes of arriving. They would only offer another room or a better view, which would not solve our issues. Doesn't seem fair to take people's money for something they do not use, I couldn't believe their inflexibility. The hotel is more concerned with taking people's money with misleading photos and a non-negotiable refund policy. Had they at least given our money back, I would have been able to put this experience behind us. But how they responded to individuals checking out within 30 minutes and taking their money is unacceptable and everyone should be aware of this before booking.

Overall the hotel isn't bad but there are some things that should be considered before booking. We had to check in, walk back outside, take a super small and very claustrophobic elevator up to our floor to get to our tiny room. The elevator as well as the rooms didn't feel air conditioned at all which made it almost panic inducing. The pool is on the roof; so to get there you have to take the super tiny elevator to the 4th floor, walk around an "L" shape to find another super tiny elevator number 4 (out of 4), and take it up to the roof to the pool. After that ordeal, I was done with the pool. The patio was beautiful and had an excellent view of the skyline. As I mentioned, the rooms are small, and do not include a fridge. We asked and you have to pay $10 a day to add a fridge to your room. The walls are "thin" so you can hear everything happening in the hallways. There's a lot of street noise too (downtown Chicago). We cranked up the air conditioning to drown out the sounds. If you want to stay downtown affordably, this is probably a good option. You can walk to a lot of places, and there's a McDonalds across the street. There's no free breakfast (available for a fee), so you can always walk to get a coffee and a sandwich. The staff were friendly and helpful which helped with the experience.

Staff (one person @ front desk) was very friendly and helpful. There was a pretty long line at check in because they were the only one. Hotel itself needs some work. Hallways smell awful and the room wasn't cleaned properly, bathroom was dirty. Overall you for the price I would probably stay elsewhere next time.

Despite presenting email confirmation and calling the westin center to make sure your name is on the list for reservation, my husband had a hard time to check in. I needed to speak with the front desk manager. On top of that, when I got to the hotel at night, to join my husband, the front desk told me my name is NOT on the list and won't be able to issue room key nor let me in to see my husband already in the room. I showed my confirmation email with my name and my ID. Still NO - she said, I will be fired if I let you in. I couldn't stay at the hotel where I booked. Also, one night rate that night was $400!!!!

I absolutely loved the location for this hotel. It's a two minute walk to the Big Bus stop, which was how we got around to see everything for the three day weekend. The staff was super friendly. I want to give a special shout out to the concierge whose name starts with a W because he's a freaking rockstar. Not only did he save a coat from a cab before they drove away, he wrangled us a cab the next day in no time where others waited 20 minutes for one to stop. The rooftop patio is very nice. We sat out there for almost an hour enjoying the cooler weather and all the lights. Room was a bit small but the three of us were comfortable. Air conditioner worked great and it had good water pressure. I would absolutely stay here again on the merits of W and because of the location, rooftop patio and staff.

Great location. Many restaurants nearby. Large room and beautiful pool. Staff was always friendly when entering and exiting the property.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's a little dated and beat up, but overall the place was very clean, the linens smelled good and the beds were comfy. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. They responded quickly to any inquiries or needs. The carpet in the hall, the world's fair art deco wall hangings and the black and white tile in the bathroom made it feel almost vintage. They had shampoo, conditioners, body wash and a few other toiletries in the room and I used the body wash—it smelled great. We had vending machines that took cards and an ice machine on our floor and both worked exactly as they should. Probably the only hotel I've been to in YEARS that had a functioning ice machine. Check in and check out were easy and the location is really good—close to a ton of restaurants and stores in the river north neighborhood. There's a McDonald's directly across the street and gas station on the other side of it. We didn't have a car but they do have onsite parking for a fee. Overall, it was an excellent stay at a good price point and I would stay again. The area overall felt safe—we didn't encounter problems with anyone. Other guests were a mixture of families and singles.

The location was great for our needs. But while there my wife and I also walked to the Riverwalk tourist area and on to Navy Pier. We took bus back to the hotel. Hotel staff was friendly. Hotel building a bit dated. But overall it was a good option for us!

You may choose this for price and location but be aware that you will not receive the level of service that you might expect from this brand. Our experience: broken shower, no cups or creamer in the lobby, then - lobby coffee machine broke. Rooms are fine, but furniture is tired. Towels are scratchy. No microwave or fridge in room. Breakfast not included. Parking $$$. (Use a parking app to find significantly lower prices) Staff just really didn't seem to care about issues we were having. We left after one night

Very noisy! On the 4th floor I can hear every step the guest stay there makes. The street traffic noise makes it difficult to fall asleep. The air conditioner when it kicks on is very noisy and it makes it difficult to sleep. Also, there are three sets of elevators, all of them are slow. Two of them lets you out into the parking lot.

Stay somewhere else. This is a party hotel, guests are up all night and it smells like weed and very noisy all night till 6am.

Rated too high! Came here for a weekend. Parking too expensive and not enough spots for customers. The hospitality person never told me that I have to pay for parking so 2 months later I received a bill for $90.00 for only one night in parking. That's a rip off. I am in process of disputing the parking bill. I would never stay in any best western hotels anymore

The room was clean, but I found a track of eyelashes in the shower. The food was great. The front desk staff were kind and understanding.

If you need a place to lay your head, a good pool for the kids, a restaurant onsite and within walking distance to everything - this is it. The price tag sold me on this hotel. It is more affordable than most with affordable parking. There is nothing fancy about this hotel. It's old and awkward with small rooms. No breakfast but can get at restaurant. The staff is great. We barely spent any time in the room as we ventured Chicago with kids. For what we needed, it was perfect. I am not picky and do not need luxury.

We spent a long weekend in Chicago and this hotel was in a great location which allowed us to skip renting a car and walk to nearby attractions. Our room was clean and comfortable. Stay does not include breakfast.

We stay here when visiting our son who attend DePaul. They offer a DePaul discount rate on the hotel and parking and it makes it very reasonable. The front desk staff is always incredibly friendly. The location is really nice as well.

Rated too high! Came here for a weekend. Parking too expensive and not enough spots for customers. Hotel in disrepair and confusing layout. Front desk staff who checked me in was pleasant and professional…he deserves to work somewhere better. Upgraded to a suite room but the floor was apparently a party floor. Currently listening to my neighbors scream in the hallway, have been ignored when calling front desk (literally forwarded to voicemail every time). Fearful I may be robbed or get bed bugs. Trying to cancel second night, but I'll happily lose the money. STAY ELSEWHERE.

We've been going to the Best Western for over 25 years. We love the staff, the clean rooms and the great location of the hotel. We look forward to seeing some of the staff that have been there for years. This is a great hotel that truly makes you feel like family.

Our stay was wonderful! The pool and gym area were great! We loved our larger room and the great view from it. I really appreciated the diamond select parking spot in the parking area as it was snowing. We parked and walked everywhere all four days of our stay. The staff was awesome!

I liked being on the 6th floor, near the pool. The room was spotless and large with ample furniture and space. The view was good, and the windows open, though they are up very high. There is a lot of lighting options, and there was plenty of work space too. The pool area is nice with a lot of tables and chairs. The pool itself is the perfect temp and has a huge deep end for swimming laps from 5-8 feet. The work out room is off the pool and has several pieces of equipment. The breakfast that is included only allows for dining in and included four options. The desk staff were all very accommodating, helpful, and friendly. I enjoy staying at this Best Western and would recommend it. You can walk to every thing from here.

This hotel is aged and needs remodeling. The price charged was too high for the level of noise, age, and quality of the hotel in general and the room in particular. The rooms have very poor noise insulation, which does not allow guests to sleep, given that the hotel is in a noisy area of town.

we reserved two suites mid-June 2023 for the end of the month of September. I called three times to confirm our suites, as we had ten(10) people traveling & staying at this hotel. The last time I called to confirm was just three days before arrival. Only one suite was available, with one excuse after another regarding the second suite. We ended up cramming five(5) people in a two double bed room without enough room for a roll-away bed. Very disappointing & unprofessional. The staff was polite, but this is not what I reserved 3.5 months prior to our stay. Best Western is not a place I would stay at again, nor would I recommend.

Stayed 3 nights at this downtown Chicago hotel in September 2023. Met my absolute bare minimum of expectations although I would not stay here again. Positive highlights: room was clean, friendly front desk agent, restaurant/room service on site, ice machine on my floor and attentive housekeeping team. Unacceptable: no WIFI code was given at check-in (why is there even a code in the first place?), WIFI was so slow I had to tether using my own data, no mini fridge, no laundry, $51 PER NIGHT PARKING FEE is highway robbery and I can't help but wonder how the hotel has the audacity to charge such their guests such an exorbitant premium. Hotel is wood frame construction and you can hear every single footstep/word/movement from neighboring rooms and guests in the hall. For the price that I paid I am 100% confident I could've done quite a bit better elsewhere.

Had an amazing time. Location was great and so was the staff. Pool had an amazing view of the city as well. We traveled for Riot Fest with a larger group of people and were able to all share a suite with was perfect.

Nasty food dirty room never again the room smelled like fish it was soo loud I had to get ear plugs their was bugs flying everywhere the remote didn't work only a few TV channels worked never again will I be staying at this hotel with my family again

I booked threw trip advisor and the guy at the desk charged me the full price and said he couldn't do anything that was so messed up The room was clean it was very small and the view was nice the ac was noisey and couldn't shut it off the traffic was very loud they had ear plugs in the room thank goodness otherwise I wouldn't have been able to sleep the bed was comfy I slept good the rooftop was nice you saw Chicago light up wasn't to bad we still made the best out of the trip all through I wanted to take a bath and the bleach wasn't washed out good in the tub and I smelled like bleach

The customer service is awesome! This hotel is located in the perfect location! So many restaurants and the rooftop is beautiful. I felt very safe walking around and it was so many restaurants to choose from. I will definitely be back.

This hotel was perfect for our needs. We were not looking to spend a fortune and we needed space for us and our 16 year old son. The king suite provided this. It was very large and clean and comfortable. I had been concerned reading some of the reviews but my concern was unfounded. We had a mini fridge in our room. The AC worked great. Yes the halls were stuffy but it's august and it's humid. Front desk staff were so lovely. Parking was easy. No complaints here. No it's not super fancy but it was good.

This is a really nice hotel. The husband and I come here every year to spend a weekend downtown and hang out. The hotel's location is perfect! You are near everything! There is a bike stand a block away with a path that leads directly to Navy Pier. There are wonderful restaurants in walking distance. The hotel is clean and the service is excellent. The only negative is that the front desk people know NOTHING about the area! They can't tell you where a bike stand is. They can't recommend any restaurants. I'm wondering if they even live in Chicago because they know nothing about the City.

I don't appreciate having the manager imply that my time is not important. The front desk was unmanned for a significant period of time and I asked how long Best Western thought that I should wait before becoming concerned. My question was left unanswered and I was asked to leave the property (which I was in the process of doing anyway). I am very disappointed in how I was treated. It really ruined my stay in Chicago.

Great stay , great staff especially Wallace . Great pool and terrace . Cheapest around for parking and no breakfast included . Free coffee in the morning. Clean and tidy everywhere . Location is close enough to walk to most attractions.

I was a bit disappointed in this hotel experience. Pros: although it was a small lot, it was secure parking. The parking attendant seemed to watch it closely which was nice to know. It was in a great location to explore Chicago. Everything was within fairly close walking distance. We never went out late but when we were out during the day we felt safe in that area. The rooms were clean. Cons: The building is super old and outdated. The hallways and elevators are stuffy, hot, and cramped. The building smelled musty. There was AC in the rooms but since it was so hot in the hallways it had a hard time keeping the room cool. No refrigerator but I was able to request one for no charge. The rooms were very small (I knew what I was getting because it's the only room they had left when I booked) just full size beds. We didn't even go to the pool or rooftop area because honestly we had no idea how to get up there. The restaurant was expensive and had no flavor. Looking out our window our view was watching several rats running around outside by the dumpsters. Overall I think I was fooled by the photos and other reviews stating this was a great hotel when in reality it was just basic place to sleep. I was disappointed with the atmosphere/vibe. I knew I wasn't booking a luxury hotel but I thought it would be a nicer experience. If you're looking for more than just a space to go to sleep— look elsewhere.

Way overpriced! No hot tub, no breakfast, little baby sized pillows, very long check in wait time, $50 a day parking, old musty smell, and rats are running in the covered part of the parking lot. If they'd empty the kitchen dumpster so the lid would close it may help. We will never stay again.

I was in town for the Windy City Smokeout. My son planned to stop in for the night so I reserved this room as I was sharing a room at a nearby hotel and didn't have room for him there. These accommodations were just what I needed for the night. The hotel is dated but as I said was adequate enough for our needs. We didn't make use of any of the amenities or visit the hotel restaurant so I cannot say anything about them. The hotel is across the street from a McDonalds and there is a Target and Walgreens within walking distance. There are separate elevators so be sure to ask which to use when checking in. Beds were comfortable.

As someone who previously worked in hospitality, I know the challenges of the frontline in the industry. Courtney's service at check-in and throughout our stay was phenomenal. If management needs a team lead or has promotional opportunities look to Courtney first.

The valet security guard was rude for no reason. Place was okay. Not the cleanest but for an overnight trip we made the best of it. Location was great. We were able to walk to places and our Uber rides to other locations were under 5 min. Wouldn't return though!

I was a returning customer after 8-9 years and this time I hoped situation will be better but no luck even this time. For 3 nights reservation for 5 family members, I got a bedroom with broken bed, water damage, and musty room with odd odor. After some back and forth my room was switched to another available room with smaller size which could fit 4 people (per hotel staff standards). I accommodated for one night on condition that I will checkout next day and they will refund me for the rest of two nights. they agreed but when I got the bill, it was for 2 nights and 2 days parking fee. I am still in process of resolution on this... This was a short version. I am skipping then part when they intentionally kept me on hold for 40+ minutes while at hotel discussing the roo m sitaution problem.. and few more such instances.

As a native Chicagoan, who now lives out of state, I almost always stay at the Best Western River North when visiting. The customer service is outstanding and I am a big fan of the attached restaurant! you won't find a better value or location!

Great location, one bus ride from all the action. Magnificent mile, observation deck Chicago 360, view of the city. (A must see at night!) We were there for New Years eve, you could see the fireworks fin of room. We did the noon boat ride and count down, was just as fun during the day, dancing ect.

Excellent and friendly service from the staff. Breakfast and coffee were top notch! Very good value in the best location, walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Attractive lobby, with coffee, water and tea. Rooms could be freshened, but clean.

Brilliant location, friendly staff and a spacious, nicely decorated room with a big comfy bed. I felt safe and secure. The shower head was small and the water pressure was lacking. There old heating/ aircon were a bit temperamental and very noisy. There was no in room or on site recycling offered. Bathroom produces were a mix of single use plastic wrapped and multi use. The pool was cool - temperature wise- but the nighttime view from the terrace was worth the trip up! Would recommend and would love to stay again.

Daniel provided excellent service in recommending local activities we were interested in! The restaurant had great pizza and convenient. Rooms are bit old, elevator system kept shutting down, unruly kids running hallways,shower water pressure pretty low, and pool was not heated. The hotel was a great location for the price, other than parking being $50 daily

The location is perfect. The service is excellent. The room surfaces are clean but not necessarily the corners or under the beds. The rooftop view is incredible, but the pool looks worn, and the elevator was scary. I'd stay here again, but for the view and location, there is so much opportunity at this Best Western with renovations.

Fantastic hotel and staff! The location is perfect - right in River North close to great restaurants and shopping. Hotel room was on the smaller size but not bad. Room had been updated recently. Hotel was clean. The pizza place adjacent to the hotel was delicious. Also, my son accidentally left his Nintendo Switch at the hotel and we didn't realize it until we were back home several hours away. The hotel found it and shipped it back to us right away. They went above and beyond and I am so grateful for them! Will definitely stay here again!

Nice staff, big room. Beautiful views from 7th floor. Bed was comfortable. Felt safe at location, and tons to do within walking distance. Only complaint was elevator was broken the 3 days we were there, and we were on the 6th floor.

We stayed at this hotel and the staff was friendly and helpful especially the concierge, “Wallace” he went above and beyond making us feel welcome, from suggesting places to visit and eat to finding the best option back to the airport. The staff was amazing!!! They were courteous, knowledgeable and genuinely nice. Daniel and William upgraded me to a suite when they learned I was in Chicago for my Birthday! The bed was soooo comfortable and location was great. Will definitely recommend to others, and stay there when I visit again. Just an overall great experience and a big reason why it was one of the best Birthday I've ever had.

Exceptional service, from the garage to the guest services counter, everyone was friendly and welcoming. Excellent location for close dining, shopping and sight seeing. The One Bedroom Suite made the value of the stay more than worth the price.

The Best Wester River North is a reasonably priced hotel in the Heart of Chicago. It is a hidden gem. We and another couple stayed there for two days this week and the experience was surprising. The rooms are large and well appointed, immaculate and room service was excellent. Both rooms were fully serviced during our stay. It is within easy walking distance of the Merchandise Mart and shops along Michigan Ave. Hotel staff were friendly and very knowledgeable of restaurants in the area, and recommendations never disappointed. We are already planning to return to explore this wonderful city.

In town for a concert, decided on the Best Western for a couple nights on our first stay in Chicago. The location is great, pool was decent, front desk staff and restaurant were great as well. That's about it. All 3 elevators had issues (the one going to the pool would open, then halfway open would go to shut, then when almost shut would open again, and sometimes repeated this a lot. Elevator 3, brought us to our floor but would not open the door. We could go up or to another floor, and door would open, but stopping on 4 it didnt (twice). Room very small, musty smell. Super uncomfortable pillows. But what brought it WAY down, was the parking attendants. Not the valet, but the parking guys. WAY too much to go into but the attitudes from them alone, will insure that we will never stay at that location again with the way we were treated by the parking staff. And to the generic cut and paste reply I will receive on here, no there will not be another chance.

I found this hotel to be a great value. The location is great, close to many attractions, walking distance to Navy Pier and dozens of restaurants. The hotel restaurant was great though and a McDonalds across the street if you don't want fancy. the hotel isn't new, but they do well to keep it up and keep it clean. Best of all the staff is awesome, the concierge,, Wallace was a great helpful resource, 1st choice when we go back.

Nice stay but spoilt by the fact that I still have not had my $100 back yet!! I have emailed head office and the hotel and no one has come back to me yet! Very upsetting and disappointing. I would appreciate it if someone from the hotel would contact me please as I am In the uk so it is not that easy for me to contact you without it costing more money, to phone etc!

Really nice hotel in a great part of town. The rooms were a nice size very clean. Staff were really friendly and the roof top swimming pool was a real bonus with great views. The only downside was the lack of advertising that the car park charge is $49 a night plus taxes which took a reasonably priced stay and tiebreaker it in to an expensive one. One other word of warning avoid rooms on the 6th floor. Having walked up there you can very clearly hear the punps from the pool

Stayed in 2007 and liked it then and finally made it back to Chicago. Grandson loved swimming in the pool at night after a day of museum sightseeing. Pizza was good in the restaurant. Room was large and very comfortable.

This is a great hotel located in the heart of the River North area with countless restaurants within just a few blocks, and the Miracle Mile and the Chicago River are just short walks away The staff is friendly and helpful, and the room are immaculate.

I stay in Chicago a minimum of one time per year for work. I had an event at the Palmer House but had to book a night elsewhere due to availability. I am so glad I found this Best Western! The price was more affordable than any other hotel (I booked it on AirBNB which was $125 cheaper than booking direct.). The location is perfect & as safe as can be in Chicago. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel room was large with 2 Queen beds. I will definitely stay again. (My stay here was better than Palmer House!) Con: No mini fridge or microwave. One of the elevators was broken at check out and the front desk did not tell us there was 2 other elevators! A maid told us when they saw we were going to carry suitcases down a stairwell! Note: Hotel was clean, my room was not noisy (4th Floor), and you can tell that there was some remodeling done. I would rate it as a 3 star hotel, but perfect for what I needed.

The staff was extremely helpful and kind. They were patient with our questions. The view of the nighttime lights of the city was breathtaking, and the pool was clean and nice. Our room was pretty and clean.

Poor customer service throughout stay. Was not met with friendly staff, was not given any information regarding the adjacent area, no information on building wifi. Air conditioning/heater in room would not work properly. Room cards stopped working halfway through stay, no staff apologized or gave explanation. Poor communication from staff throughout. Relatively the same price as neighboring hotels, so next time I will try somewhere else.

Excellent hotel location, great restaurant attached (Pizzeria Ora), and the hotel staff is the best. I love the rooftop lounge area, it is a great place to sit and have drink while looking out over the city at night.

That hotel should be closed for many violations, dirty, elevator dorr has gap and felt like will fall, noise everywhere, the smallest reception i ever seen and has no accessibility, only stairs, uncomfortable beds and noisy cooling, no refrigerator

Overall the staff was very friendly and overly helpful. Having staff 24 hours in the parking garage made us feel very comfortable leaving our car the entire time. We walked mostly everywhere and hoped on the Big Red bus. Beds could be a bit more comfy and the noise from street I would recommend ear plugs if your a light sleeper. If the bed and noise was better I would rate this a 5 star. Would stay again.

The Best Western River North property is amazing. Every employee we came in contact with was helpful, friendly, and eager to help in any circumstance. This was the third time staying at this property and it really does feel like home! Amenities are wonderful and the rooftop views of the city are breathtaking!

We found the front desk staff and the parking attendant to be excellent, but the hotel itself was very dated and there was a terrible smell in the room, the hallway, and elevator for both nights we stayed. My kids did enjoy the pool, but we would not choose to stay here again. We found that the price of the hotel was very expensive and not a good value.

Great location and nice rooms although they are a bit dark and dimly lit. Wifi is not very strong and tends to drop on and off - better wifi at Stan's Donuts. No fridge in room nor any crockery - all takeaway cups and we used the coffee machine to make tea and boil water for noodles

Extremely friendly an accommodating staff.. Everything was just wonderful. Compared to other big city experiences in hotels, this was by far the best. Rooms were cleaned daily. WE had access to drinking water from the restaurant. Free coffee and hot chocolate in the reception area

Best Western River North is a special hotel for my family. In 2015, 17, 19, 21 and 22 our grandchildren turned 9 and we treated them to a Chicago visit. Their two nights were spent at the BWRN. Our latest stay, September 2-4, 2022 celebrated our last grandchild's 9th birthday. As always, the hotel and staff treated us like family. Special thanks to Daniel, Willie and Wallace for providing help with a special room, excellent help navigating Uber and great tips on local hidden places to eat and visit. The hotel has it's own charm. It is an older hotel, rooms come in all shapes and sizes, they are very clean and the staff will provide you with a microwave or refrigerator if needed.And the location is good for transportation. We had a great stay at this hotel. It was very close to the train stations to get downtown and there were lots of great restaurants in the area. Our room was ready when we arrived a little before check-in and they gave us the room which was very welcomed after travelling for about 10hours. The room was very clean and spacious but I wish it had a fridge for drinks but it's not a deal breaker. The roof top deck was nice to sit out and look out over the area. The best part of our stay was the front desk agent Kenishia, she was fantastic and a wonderful asset to the hotel. She was so friendly and helpful and every time we saw her we were greeted with a smile. I would stay here again if I come back to visit Chicago.

Great location, but over priced for what they offer. The rooms are very small, no microwave or refrigerator, very noisy, but the staff is friendly. We had an issue where someone was smoking weed and it was coming into my room, the hotel staff handled it right away. If I need an overnight then this would be the place to be but for a vacation invest in yourself and pay extra for better comfort.

The rooms were very dated and need some attention. The air conditioning unit is very old and extremely noisy, the air conditioning unit from the room above was dripping constantly onto our external air conditioning unit, when we looked out of the window other units had old towels on them to lessen the noise! Someone in the room above us had a shower at 3am which woke us up as the sound was so loud we thought they were using our bathroom! The location is ok but if we visited Chicago again we wouldn't choose this hotel again. The bar area was good and the barman was very friendly. The food was also good. On the plus side the staff are fantastic and a real asset to the hotel.

Had a very pleasant experience staying at the Best Western River North. The area is fantastic! Great for walking and sight seeing. Surrounded by cool shops and restaurants. The hotel is very nice and clean. From the awesome concierge at the front desk to the room itself, everything was stellar! Also, a special thanks to Nurie, one of the building supervisors, who went above and beyond and delivered us a hand written, detailed list of 5 great restaurants in the local area, complete with hours of operation, address, and even the phone numbers. “What a guy!” Thanks Nurie and staff!!! We'll definitely be back.

I normally stay at a competing hotel in Chicago & should've kept it that way. This stay was not worth the price, the woman at the front desk led a strange man to my room by letting him stand beside me during my check-in & not asking him to move, then told me audibly that I was in room number ## & exclaimed “WOW! you guys are on the same floor! how fun!” to me, a 25y/o female traveling solo, and to a 40y/o man i didn't know. Later that day, advances were made by that man to me because he knew what room I was in. I felt unsafe the whole trip.

Room door was not opening. Jammed, My wife had to kick it open(needs to be wd40'd up) Hotel elevator was very slow, minor graffiti written on the walls. Thankfully we made it to our tour on time. Room a/c kept turning off. My wife felt the room was very small. You need to leave main office and go 2 buildings over to get to your elevator. Not a problem in the summer. Not bad for an old building. Ok for like a business event to get by, but definitely not booji if your honeymooning it

Great service but hotel is not great. Rooms need some attention. ...they are pretty outdated and generally need TLC but we're location is ok but can find better for the price. Overpriced for what you get

It's a great location, old and dingy but that's fine. The problem is the air conditioners are really loud, especially when they switch on. And they switch on and off at intervals all night long. When the a/c comes on it's like an explosion, then it's just loud. then in 10 minutes or so it goes off, then 5 minutes later another explosion. NEVER EVER STAY HERE no matter how great the location or cheap the price. I complained, and they were kind enough to move me to another room, but it was the same.

Very clean and convenient hotel. Within walking distance of all the top tourist attractions. Yhis is the 1st hotel that i have stayed in since the pandemic that our room was cleaned each day. The cleaning staff did a Phenomenal job. Hotel staff is very friendly and always willing to help. Parking is in a secure lot with very easy to access to and from. Can't recommend a more convenient hotel in River North.

Hotel is value for money . The rooms are comfortable & clean. There is no mini ref in the room. There are stairs going up to the reception lobby - not nice if you have a lot of luggages. The room numbers are not arranged in a logical manner. It took us 20 minutes to locate our room (Rm 329) - only to find out it was in another building. The front desk / receptionist did not tell us right away how to locate our room. They also cancelled my parents booking without any warning. Will definitely not stay in this hotel again. There are lots of other hotels in the area.

A very nice hotel. Recently remodeled. Only thing missing is a mini fridge and hot tub. Disappointing that fitness room opens at 10 AM and no breakfast included. Sign of the times. Staff was Fantastic and made this stay worth it. Would stay here again when in town.

I have rented 150 to 200 rooms a night and the rooms were better equipped. Who the hell doesn't have a mini fridge in a room. The restaurant and bar were nice , a little over priced, but convenient and serves food till midnight

When looking for a hotel in downtown Chicago it is a uphill battle. Their are so many choices and prices it makes your head spin. Im bringing the family with a 10 and 13 year old and need amenities for the kids. I spoke with numerous hotels and they were short and unhelpful when it came to ask what's around for kids and were is the public transportation. When I called Daniel at this hotel he could not be more helpful and even looked up different train lines (Red) that would take me to the museums. The hotel has an indoor pool with roof top lounge, Chicago pizza Joint on premises and is located at the Hard Rock McDonalds, Portello's hot dogs and beef and Hard Rock Cafe (fun kids places). The parking is cheap for Chicago, and the staff bends over backwards for you....

Does not look like picture online. Old decor, smelled musty, small room, floors and walls paper thin. Definitely not worth the amount I paid. Did not leave for another hotel because stay was 1 night, room was at least clean, and other nearby hotels were booked.

Room was clean and bed was comfy. Daniel and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Sorry I can't remember everyones names. The restaurant served a great breakfast and a delicious Bloody Mary. Will stay there again.

The hotel is well located in terms of plenty of restaurants and access to public transportation and sites but the surrounding streets are excessively noisy. The hotel is outmoded and could use a little remodel. The staff on the other side are nice and friendly

This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at! Super clean throughout, and the king suite we had was HUGE! The entire staff was super nice and very friendly! Daniel at the front desk went above and beyond to accommodate our every whim. He made us feel very welcome! The hotel was the perfect location in Chicago as we had everything right near us. This def is my go-to any time I am in Chicago from now on!

Check in was great as well as checking out. Hotel appears to be older, but has been remodeled at some point in the last few years. Clean and neat. Rooms are on the smaller side, but big enough to move easy around in. Would have nice to have a refrigerator. We had no issues with our stay. Lots of restaurants on N Clark which is the next street over from Hotel and runs for a few blocks with many food options Easy walking to many places. There's also a Walgreens one block over on N Clark, as well as a Mc Donald's directly across the street. You can over night park at the MD for $38 a night or download Spot Hero and park at one of the garages close by. You choose the location & time length. We parked at the Grand Plaza which was only a block down. Secured inside parking. Without Spot Hero it would have been $51 a night, but with it we paid $23 (for 18 hours). Hotel is $49 dollars per night. You have choices. We unloaded our stuff then went to park. Price may vary depending on how long you are parked.

We stayed 5 nights and we were always comfortable, the room was clean, good pool and patio on the roof, very good restaurant attached. And Wallace was so helpful - thank you for that, sir :) We would definitely stay again.

Room was clean and the bathroom is bigger than most. Bed was not too bad. We were close to the ice machine so that was little bit of issue. There is a restaurant in the hotel and it was not too bad. There is indoor pool on the roof with a killer view from the deck outside. We did not use the pool too many children in the pool at the time we went up there. The best part of this hotel is it is walking distance to restaurants, bars, and riverwalk. Parking here is $50 a night in garage. There is a security deposit of $100 but is refundable. For a good location and a reasonable price. I would recommend this hotel for a stay in downtown Chicago.

I have stayed at this Best Western several times. It never disappoints. The staff is always friendly. The rooms always clean. The pool nice. Good food in the restaurant. And a few little extras that my daughter, grandkids and I always enjoy like free hot chocolate. We are looking forward to our next stay at the Best Western Chicago River North!

For the price, I was hoping for a little more of an updated room (i.e. no USB outlets) but overall everything was functional minus a small hiccup with the AC unit (it was self resolved fairly quickly). Beautiful view of the city!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room at the BW River North. I had mixed feelings from some earlier reviews, but chose the hotel for the good location (and not exorbitant rate). And once I was there, the room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, and the WiFi worked well. Didn't have the breakfast, but the offerings looked great. I didn't love that you access the rooms through the parking lot area (not from lobby), but required a key to get in, so felt safe enough. The hallways could be brighter looking, but again, once in the room, my stay was excellent. Had all I needed for one night on a business trip!

This is an OK, but reasonably priced hotel in an area where most hotels are very expensive. It's an older building and as such has some issues that come with older buildings, but gets things right were it counts. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Everything was very clean.  None of my complaints are things that would have prevented me from staying here again, but would have made my stay more enjoyable. The layout of the building is very confusing. It took us a while to figure out how to get to the pool, which is in a separate part of the building and from the part our room was in you need to go to the fourth floor to cross over to that part. The elevator in the part with the pool was out of order the day we were there so we had to walk up three flights of stairs to access the pool. The pool itself is large and very nice with plenty of towels available. Next to the pool is an outdoor deck with a city view and on the other end of the pool is the fitness center. The bed was comfortable. The shower had great water pressure with plenty of hot water. The toilet paper was single-ply and left something to be desired. While the air conditioner in our room worked, the thermostat was off by several degrees. The room got down to 74 when I had the thermostat set to 68.   The TV worked just fine. I wanted to use a Fire Stick on the TV, which I was able to do, however as the TV's USB port only put out 0.5A I had to plug in the Fire Stick, but the outlet was just barely close enough to work and as the TV and outlet were secured in their position I was not able to move them any closer. Being in the city on a busy street there's a lot of city noises.

The hotel is not as new as others but combination of price, location, well kept and caring staff should not be overlooked when considering this hotel. There is some evening nightlife noise but nothing hotel really can do.

Neat and clean, very very helpful staff. Mr at the front desk (my apologies for not able to capture his name) and Mr Wallace, they were so good. Room was spacious and with all the amenities. Overall good location and good stay.

Hotel was outside of downtown. Good location for going to Mag Mile. Was long walk to Navy Pier (take Uber). Front desk people were very helpful but not always at front desk. Hotel was clean. Beautiful pool and pool lounging area on roof. Would stay again.

Each staff member was super courteous and helpful. They go out of their way to take care of our needs. Really impressed by their customer service. Wonderful people running a wonderful facility. One of Chicago finest!

The bed was hard. I could hear vividly the noise outside all night. They didn't provide any hand soap or trash bags in the cans. They also told me they had free continental breakfast which I didn't find out was wrong until we checked in. The hotel restaurant has almost no gluten free options and their hash browns are terrible.

The stay would have been more pleasant if there was a microwave in the room and the restaurant food could have tasted better. IT was also an inconvenience to have to walk from the parking garage to the hotel. However, if your looking for car parking, there rate is the cheapest at @ $25 an hour with in/out access.

We stayed here while celebrating my daughter's birthday at the American Girl Doll Place. The staff was very kind and courteous. We enjoyed the hotel restaurant and bar and spent some time in the pool and enjoying the rooftop views.The parking was convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

The BW is great for family vacation, close to restaurants and attractions. The room and hotel was clean and the staff was great. The hotel concierge was amazing! Thank you for all the recommendations to visit in Chicago

Our hotel of choice when we stay in Chicago as the staff is always very friendly (especially the guys in the morning), it's clean, and has a great location where we can leave our car and walk to all our places of interest. Great value and highly recommended!

My son and I traveled to Chicago for a little spring break trip. We stayed at this hotel last year and then I was amazed at the location for the price. So from now on when we travel to Chicago we will definitely be staying here. It's our home away from home while in Chicago.

My family and I stayed here for 1 night to check out the city. We will definitely come again. Rooms were clean and tidy. Pool was awesome for the kids. It is in a really nice central location with good restaurants around - both fast food and sit down style!

You get a lot of bang for your buck at this hotel. I traveled with my husband and 2 kids for a long weekend in the city. We got a king suite which was the perfect place to rest between exploring. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was wonderful. Anything we needed was addressed quickly. The food is convenient and good. The kids loved the pool. The location is great. Overall the Best Western River North fit our needs perfectly.

This hotel was the perfect place to camp at night after walking the great city of Chicago. The rooms were clean and the staff was cool. They helped me with my Lyft and greeted me everytime I came near the lobby. Can't wait to come back!

It's location is in the heart of the city and many places you can just walk to. Very nice check in and parking is a reasonable price. I would stay again as I am a Chicago resident and there is public transportation near by as well.

This was a great location for what we wanted to do in Chicago. It was a basic hotel room with less expensive parking ($25 per day -much of lot not covered). The room was clean and the front desk staff friendly. There wasn't a refrigerator in the room which was disappointing. My biggest concern was in the pool area. We got to the pool via elevator just as the pool opened at 10am to check it out. We turned around to go back to our room to get our suits but the elevator door would not open to that floor (6th floor-pool) and the only other exit was a door that was bolted from the outside. We called the front desk and they sent someone up to "unlock" the elevator so we could exit. We had to call the front desk again to get them to unlock the bolted door. I told them it was a safety issue that the only exit was an elevator. Ironically throughout the hotel it states that stairs should be used in case of fire! This safety issue is my reason for a four star. Hopefully going forward they will remember to unlock the elevator and the door. I will stay here again but will definitely do an exit check if I go to the pool next time.

Missed my 50th Class Reunion Zoom meeting last year, but got included with the class of '72 this year. It was so great staying only a couple of blocks from MBI. The convenience of the shuttle bus to the conference sessions was great. Everyone was so helpful at the hotel! And the complimentary breakfast tickets were a real treat!!

Well appointed, stylish and modern rooms, very friendly front desk, room service from great restaurant right downstairs. Only a 10 minute walk to Michigan Avenue and public transportation. Plus $25 parking on site with unlimited Ins and outs.

Overall satisfying stay. The internet and tv channels were spotty. To park on the property is $25 a night. You need a vaccination card to use the indoor pool. It's located on a one-way street in the middle of downtown

The staff there are wonderful and they really go above and behind. The rooms are very nice and clean. We actually will be staying again this weekend for a wedding we had such a great experience and you can't beat the price!

In terms of River North, this is the Best Western. The pool is nice and the staff is friendly. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to stay downtown in the Chicago area. I'll be back for sure.

Great location - love how convenient it was to park at the hotel. Lots of great restaurants/bars nearby that we could walk to. Ubers were good priced as well from this location Staff - really friendly & welcoming. Front desk & Parking attendant were awesome! Room - clean and comforting.

Pretty close to the subway. We felt safe walking around the area even at night. Looks fairly clean and taken care of. Super friendly and helpful staff. Beds not the most comfortable but not terrible. No fridge or microwave in the room but was spacious enough for an extra "rollaway" bed that was actually a regular twin size bed. That was way better than expected.

My family and I had a wonderful experience. The staff was great and the suite we stayed in was just enough room for us and our 2 year old. It was 9 minutes from our destination. We walked everywhere..

Have stayed at this Best Western several times over the years. Great value and convenient location. Staff is always circuitous and helpful. Had a plumbing leak in our room and they moved us quickly to even a better room without complaint. Beds were exceptionally comfortable, they now have much firmer pillows.

Hotel and room were very nice and clean. Staff was exceptional, accommodating and professional. Great location for all our weekend activities. Plenty of restaurants around to please most. Parking rate is the best in the city. Nice area for the value and rates. Really liked the close security and monitoring the hotel had. We felt safe at all times.

I researched a place with a pool. Best Western was the best deal I found. The pool was great with unlimited access 12 hours a day. There's a sun deck, a fitness room, computers for use, a restaurant with a bar that's open till one am. Breakfast if you want it. A friendly and helpful staff. Right around the corner from Blue Chicago, An Irish pub on ever corner. Just blocks from a French Resturant. A wonderful neighborhood to explore. Half hour walk from most of Chicago's sights. You cannot go wrong staying at the Best Western River North in Chicago.

Great hotel in downtown chicago. Rooms are huge. a beautiful italian bar/restaurant attached to the hotel with great food. there's an indoor pool and a rooftop lounge area with comfortable lounge chairs that you can see the city at night.

The hotel is close to a lot. The L Grand station is 2 blocks up and it's an easy walk to the Pier. It was about $210 with taxes and fees for 2 weeknights. $50 to check in early and $25 per day for parking. It has a pool. The building is older and they've tried to update it. I knocked off a star because there is no in-room refrigerator. That is a necessity now. Otherwise, a decent stay.

Good River North spot. Parking $25 which is a good deal. Rooms very small and a little loud (overhead noise was loud and street noise) but for a safe place to stay you can't beat it. Nothing fancy but a place to rest your head.

We had a great experience and stay. This hotel is convenient to lots of restaurants and shopping. We stayed in a huge 1 bedroom suite, and had more room than any other hotel we've stayed. Housekeeping did a marvelous job keeping our room clean and stocked with amenities. We enjoyed the rooftop area in the evenings, and the on-site restaurant and bar was excellent if you didn't feel like leaving the hotel. We didn't use the pool, but there were several families who did and looked like they were having a great time. Staff was friendly and helpful! I was surprised by the number of employees that were working during our visit! Can't wait to return!

This is a great value and excellent place to stay. The staff (all shifts) are friendly, service oriented, and professional. Moody Bible Institute suggested this great property. The food service was first class, (get the pizza in the restaurant) the bed was incredibly comfortable and the property is clean as well maintained on a regular basis.

This was a decent priced hotel for the price and location. We watched a lot of people check in around us - some even early but our check in was extremely delayed with no apology, no estimated wait time, or friendly service. We were exhausted from travel and ready to settle in but could not. The accommodations once we were very nice. Hotel was full that day as well. Busy place for late September.

This was the perfect location for shopping, restaurants and the Merchandise Mart. It is an incredible value for what you get. It is my 2nd time staying at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They seemed to have plenty of staff available for keeping it clean and looking good.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western River North Hotel and I couldn't have picked a better hotel to stay during our family trip. Its perfectly located off the Ohio St freeway exit. Upon pulling in to the hotel I was greeted by the parking lot attendant who kindly showed me where to park. I got there before noon and Savannah explained about their early check in policy. I decided to get some lunch and come back for the key but Savannah allowed me to at least pre check in. Upon returning from lunch my room was ready and was given room 534. It was the perfect room for us. I did need a mini fridge to store some medicine and the front desk was nice enough to send one right up. The room was a good size but I love the fact we didn't have any neighbors next to us or above us. The hotel is right smack in the middle of everything. It took us 15 min to walk down to the river boat tour on Michigan Ave. Food options are also perfect and within walking distance. The hotel has a restaurant on site and McDonalds is across the street. You can also walk across the street and hit up Portillo's, Hard Rock Cafe and just two blocks south you can get some deep dish pizza at Lou Malnati's. If you forget anything there is a Target one block away with a Starbucks inside. I found it very convenient to be able to get to most places by foot such a Millennium Park or The Magnificat Mile. If you wanted to drive out and check out some of the cool neighborhoods, they are no more than 15 min away. I also wanted to thank Kathy, the evening manager for helping me apply some gift card I forgot to present upon check in. Overall its the perfect hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

It is easy to check in, and someone is easily available throughout the time of my stay, They are very helpful in directing me to Union Station, Opera house, etc. I will continue to use this hotel for my stays, unless I am not able to do so.

We've stayed at Best Western River North multiple times, and each time we revel in its location and price. It's so close to everything - Magnificent Mile, public transportation, the river. And parking is a breeze with the hotel's adjoining lot. And Wallace! His warmth and enthusiasm are contagious. And he remembered us from previous trips. Whatever you're paying Wallace, it isn't enough!

Great location in the city. Lots of entertainment within walking distance, and easy in/out of the parking structure if you did need to venture out further. The employees were also super friendly and helpful.

I was literally only here for 3 and a half days, and housekeeping stole my switch and entered several times. I had to tell them to leave several times. They never properly responded to my claims of theft, all they did was take my phone number and asked housekeeping, aka the people who stole it. Never stay here, they steal valuables, blame you for it, and do nothing.

We felt like we were staying in a basement even though we were on the 5th floor. Windows were too high to look out and colors were drab. No in room refrigerator, air conditioner was loud but drowned out the street noise. Staff was friendly and helpful, good location for looking around Chicago, price was cheaper than most places nearby. Probably would not stay again.

Best Western River North in Chicago is the perfect place to stay during your visit. The staff are all very courteous and willing to help in anyway. The prices are worth your money, good beds, great pillows, very clean rooms and so convenient to the hub of Chicago. The hotel is about 3-4 blocks from the CTA red line and right on a bus line. Many restaurants within a few blocks walking. Private parking in a gated lot. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The location was easy to find, right off the hwy, and the parking garage was easy to access. We were able to park and use the swimming facilities ahead of check in which was nice. All the staff made everything, start to finish, so easy.

The hubby and I stay here every year for the Labor Day weekend! And we are never disappointed. The rooms are small but they are clean! The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is in the PERFECT location!! On the next block they have a ton of restaurants. The street is closed and all the restaurants have moved into the streets for outdoor dining! Lots of nice little bars in the area. The hotel has room service. They also have a nice Chicago style pizza place in the hotel. Good drinks! There is a bike rack 2 blocks away. The hubby and I rented bikes for the day and rode to Lincoln Park Zoo and spent the day there. In the evening we rode the bikes to Navy Pier and watched the fire works! This hotel also has a nice indoor pool and a beautiful rooftop deck with nice views of the City.

My family stayed at Best Western River North and it was a great experience. Parking onsite was nice, the pool on the roof top was beautiful, room service was excellent, facility was clean and up-to-date, and the location was convenient.

The Best Western River North is a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Chicago. Just a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile, this hotel is near shopping, restaurants, Lake Michigan. We love the staff, especially Wallace! This hotel is particularly clean and has on site parking. We stay here often when visiting our daughter at college.

Right in the heart of River North, this property is very clean and most rates include an excellent hot breakfast. Wonderful indoor pool with terrace smack dab in the city. Great value!!!!!! The staff was professional and kind.

Long term patron of this fine establishment. Always receive excellent value and service. There is absolutely no better place to stay in downtown Chicago that can beat this location price and parking option! Location is great for shopping, Cubs games, dinner or just people watching. One mile walk to the Lake too!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Everything very clean and the rooms were very spacious would definitely recommend and come back when I return to the city. The location was great close to all the main attractions within the city.

The hotel was in a great location. Close to Restaurants and Entertainment. We loved the way the rooms were decorated and the bathroom was really cute! The staff members were all friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

Perfect hotel for my family of 4 including 2 children aged 4 and 5. Short walk or easy Access to public transportation to many downtown attractions. Nice pool and rooftop balcony. Everything was very clean and looked great, very nice and possibly recently updated. The staff was all extremely friendly and helpful!

This place was so accommodating! This hotel is near everything too! When my family and I went, our flight got to Chicago early so they were able to accommodate us and get us checked in early. We had booked a suite with a view and they delivered as promised giving us a corner room! The room was in great condition. We had really good communication with them. The only problem we had was we got stuck in the elevator for like 3 minutes but we were able to get out and tell them about it and they fixed the problem right away. When it was time to check out, we did but our flight wasn't till later so they were able to hold our luggage while we finished up exploring Chicago. That was a great feature to have. The staff was wonderful and I can't forget about Wallace who helped us with our baggage and was great at recommending places to eat. Such a friendly person! I would definitely come back here!

Rooms do not have a fridge so keep that in mind. Parking was kind of a hassle, the attendants were confusing. There was a car inappropriately parked behind mine and luckily the space next to mine was empty so I could maneuver mine out. The lighting in my bathroom went out but it was resolved quickly. Our tv remote would not work and the tv itself did not have controls. The elevators were incredibly slow. Staff was very friendly. The room and lobby was clean.

I had a reservation in another hotel that fell through and the clerk there was horrible. I called BW and Rogelio helped me through the phone and offered me a room on the spot (make aware that it was 3am in the morning!) My check in was super fast, he understood my needs and was super helpful. Long story short, he was able to accommodate me and my family for 3 nights on the spot, best service ever! I do feel some areas of the hotel need a revamp, but the people here is amazing! The valets, the cleaning ladies, everyone is super nice and cordial.

wow!! okay not only was this the most fabulous location!! (1.5 blocks from red line grand&state and ALL THE RESTAURANTS) we left and about an hour into our drive to michigan we got a call from the hotel and WALLACE the parking attendant truly went the extra mile. he noticed our son's avengers suitcase in the parking lot where our car has been parked, went inside and worked with the front desk to find out who left it there and we were able to retrieve his bag and we couldn't be more grateful for this amazing employee! 10/10 would recommend staying here and BW give this man a raise!!! thumbs wayyyy up!!!

Pictures are nothing like the actual hotel. There was an awful smell like chlorine and wet diapers that never went away. Location and price was great and parking was free, but I'll not be staying there again

very clean, great staff, very comfortable beds and the coffee in the lobby was really good. i would def stay here again. the sky deck view was a great extra that we went up to many times for some fantastic pictures also

The hotel looked very nice - looked newly renovated or just very well kept up. All areas were very clean and neat. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Really one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. And Wallace who I think is the head valet in the garage is awesome!!

The staff was very professional, helpful, and fun! The rooms were very clean and well appointed. Our stay here was a delight and I highly recommend this hotel! If you stay on the side that's on Ohio St be prepared for nighttime noise. I do NOT recommend the restaurant in the hotel. There are great places just a few steps further away that you'll enjoy!

If you need solid internet this property isn't the place to stay. If you need a quiet room, this property is not for you. Example: I felt the ceiling was going to collapse on us when the guest were occupying the room above. When in bathroom, you can hear other guest having personal conversations. I used my Bluetooth speaker so I can play music to help avoid having to listen to other peoples conversations went in the bathroom. The a/c unit was so loud cycling on and off throughout the night. Mattresses were needing to be replaced. The decor was updated bed linens were OK, bath towels were awful. All the staff we interacted with were professional and guest service orientated.

This hotel never disappoints. This is our first choice of hotels whenever we visit Chicago.. in the heart of river north, it's easy to get to and from in the city and a expressways.. It's clean, friendly staff and location location location! Huge bonus: inexpensive parking with in and out privilege's!

Average room the only problems were that there was no fridge or microwave in the room , draining issue with tub took a shower and I had to stand in water, cause it drained so slow, and hair was on the floor in the bathroom and on the toilet.

We had a great stay at the hotel, front desk employees and garage security very welcoming and always held the door for you. Located in a very safe area and within walking distance to nearly anything that you wanted to see. Will definetly stay there again

Clean and quiet in a good city location. We walked to Millenium Park, Navy Pier and although we thought the $25/day parking was high....we soon found out that was in line with other places. Pool was fun for kids; roof top terrace nice. Although room not spacious, it was clean and very quiet.

This hotel in the River North area is a great location. Walking distance to many restaurants and a part of “The Mag Mile.” The bus tour we took picked us up around the corner! The staff was great too!

The staff caters to you as if you were at a 5-star hotel. It's not the most elegant property, but it is so convenient to the city center, Michigan Ave, the Mart. You can literally stroll to those places. The L train is only 4 blocks away so you can take the trains from the airports instead of a taxi. Faster and cheaper. Enjoy your stay. Go to Pizzeria Ora. Just like Cheers.

The parking attendant and maintenance, were great. However, I got bit up within the first hour of being in the hotel and laying on the bed. I called the front desk to express my concerns and the front desk clerk insisted I was allergic to the detergent they used. I asked for a refund and was told I would not receive my money unless a full investigation was done. And only IF the investigation showed there were bed bugs. I expressed how I didn't feel comfortable staying there and was told “then you can check out. But you will not be receiving your money back”. So I had to switch rooms at midnight, with four kids. (Switching to a different room proved it wasn't the detergent. There were no bites after leaving he first room.) I've called the GM and left a message to follow up. Waiting on a response. Never again.

The room was clean. The AC worked well. Jasmine at the front desk was kind and helpful with suggestions. The hotel was centrally located. 2 miles from Lincoln Park Zoo, I mile from Willis Tower, 1 Mile from MIllenium Park, and a short walk to the river walk. It's right across the street from a Hard Rock, McDonalds, and Portillo's. It was great as I was traveling with teens.

We stayed for 3 nights in a double Queen suite. It was huge. We were on the 3rd floor of the main building. It wasn't the brightest room we've ever had but it was clean and well laid out. Everyone we dealt with at the front desk was great. They explained about reserving the pool (we weren't interested). There was always coffee available in the lobby. As others said there are plenty of restaurants in the area and a Jewel grocery store just a few blocks away. We had no problems with the parking. We got a great spot and left our car there the entire time.

Front desk Jasmine rude, manager Michelle rude as well. Reservations needed for pool and sundeck make sure to ask, manager says you should read the confirmation email. Can only reserve 1-2 hours during a 2 day stay. Tiny parking spots, more rooms than spots. Sundeck was cool when we got there, pool was warm. Room was large and clean. Noise level not controlled between hall and traffic we could hear everything. Could hear car doors and people talking in parking lot as they came and went all night.

Staff is knowledgeable , friendly and very diligent in responding to client's situations. Hotel is refurbished, but does have a few oddities. We stayed in a suite that was huge, which could have used either larger furniture or just more to fill the space.

This is a really nice hotel. It is clean, the rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable and it is centrally located. This hotel has a pool and the pool was clean and warm. They also have a beautiful outdoor deck with a nice view of the city. The service was very good and the employees were friendly and knowledgeable about the services provided at their property. There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. They also serve Chicago-style pizza. They have a full-service bar. This hotel is located in the middle of everything. My husband and I had reservations at various restaurants throughout the area and all of them were within a 10-minute walk. We even walked around the corner to a blues bar and listened to live music. Lots to do in the area. We also rented bikes from a nearby Divvy stand and road to Navy Pier and spent the day. We really enjoyed this hotel and our stay.

Excellent tour and guide at Sun Studio. You could tell Drew loves his job. It made the tour even more enjoyable. Awesome to experience such a historical site! Definitely recommend going to Sun Studio.

Can not beat the location of this BW! Right downtown and very easy access to the highway. Awesome value for being in downtown Chicago with a great outside deck, friendly staff, and bar/lounge/restaurant in the hotel!

This is an excellent hotel in a great location with great coffee offered in the room and in the lobby. The staff was great ( the maintenance people who brought our mini frige and microwave were so nice ) . The desk personnel were very nice. We were in front of the hotel in 212 and heard all the street noise all night long even w/ the fan running. The pool was cold.

Worst hotel!!!! It seems to be known for its noisy guests. I unfortunately did not take previous reviews seriously. People were yelling profanities, screaming, running, arguing and jumping all night long!!! Carpets not vacuumed in our room, got stuck inside the elevator corridor to the garage and had to have someone come pull the door as we pushed to open it. Staff was unfriendly and it was a waste of money for a horrible experience. For the love, take my advice and go stay somewhere else.

I enjoyed my stay,everytime I come here the staff make me feel right at home. The staff was very helpful and professional, the room was very clean and I also love going to the bar down stairs to have a drink, the bartender (Chris) is awesome and does a great job.

We stay at this motel a couple times a year for transporting our son to & from college in Chicago, & we always have a top-notch experience. The staff is superb. The motel is clean. We always feel safe, even though it's downtown Chicago. The restaurant's breakfast is always very satisfying. We love this place.

Loved staying here. Will be back in the future. It is close to many places you can just walk to. the pool was a little cold, but it was great way to cool off. And the view out the balcony in the pool area is awesome!

This place suck I hate I paid all that money to stay in that dump they let anyone off the street use the pool the hallway and room smells so bad because the carpet was discussing the bathroom was dirty the staff had bad attitudes and wasn't helpful at all the bed feels just like sleeping on the floor people were partying and smoking Weed the tv was so dim it takes hours for the elevator they must rent out the parking lot to other people places because they barely had parking for the hotel guess don't waste your time or money staying at this hotel trust me I regret every dollar I wasted

Enjoyed our stay in April 2021. Very nice staff. Very nice location with easy access to Michigan Avenue and other shops, etc.. Good restaurant, good pool, good patio area, etc.. The parking attendants are nice and parking is safe and secure.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The front desk staff should not work in hospitality, I'm appalled and will never come back to this hotel because of my experience with them. The manager however was great and very helpful, she was the only positive thing about this place. That and the location was good as well.

This was a few months back but I stayed with these guys on my latest business trip to Chicago. Now as a broke student, I wanted to be close to the loop but didn't want to break the bank doing so. This place fit the bill perfectly. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and cracked a few jokes which was very welcome after a long day of travel! Rooms were very clean, quiet, and had good heat when I stayed last November. I also used the room service since I was too lazy to go out and get food. And also Covid. The room service was good too! All in all I would recommend this place and would definitely stay here again the next time life brings me to Chicago. 5 Stars.

Great staff, friendly, helpful. Older hotel, could use some updating, but everything was clean. Nice that covered parking was available. Good COVID safety protocols in place. Easy walk to attractions.

Only couple things I wasn't satisfied with was not having fridge & microwave in room. A fridge was provided though. First room was small but we we're accommodated to bigger room because my aunt has walker.

Smell of smoke kept me up most of the night. Sounded and smelled like parties were going on in rooms through out the night. I feel bad for the people I saw with small children, that much marijuana fumes cant be good for young brains.

Loved the location as it was in the middle of everything and McDonalds across the street. Thought the pricing of parking and food was ridiculous, but mostly was disappointed that I could never find a staff member when I had questions. Entire floor smelled like marijuana the entire time. Lobby coffee was amazingly great, and always available.

The front desk staff was friendly and professional the rooms was clean the rooftop deck view was amazing and the pool area was nice and clean. I enjoyed my stay and plan on booking another stay stay very soon!

This Best Western is very well located. It has on site parking and an in door pool. Staff is excellent. It is on a very busy street so there is street noise at night. And I don't like the fact that other guests let their doors slam. But other then that this place is a good bargain.

Love this hotel we have stayed there 3 different times. Indoor pool and close to alot of things walking distance away. They offer discounts to various sites. The in house restaurant is great and accommodating.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights. Each day I put the please make up room sign on my door and each day I came back and my room was never attended to. I had to call to get extra clean towels. The hotel was nice with good food at the restaurant.

We enjoyed our stay in the spacious King suite. Room was clean and parking was safe and reasonably priced. Lobby staff were amazing! The restaurant's food was okay. We didn't get a chance to go to pool, as it was fully reserved and weren't allowed to go to the Sundeck since it was for VIP's only.

Woman who checked me in was rude and apologetic when she overcharged me. The tub didn't drain and the toilet plugged. They sent someone to repair it but he didn't say a word to me, went into the bathroom for a few minutes and then left without repairing it. Restaurant on site was good food and friendly service

Checked in around 3am. The noise from the street wasn't bad, even the location is towards the inner city. Bed and bathroom were clean, room was neatly organized and spacious. Would recommend for an overnight stay.

rooms were clean, water pressure was great, heaters worked, housekeeping was friendly and provided extra linens upon request, and the parking attendant was so very kind. wasnt intended to stay here had originally booked at the londonhouse but im glad best western was able to accomodate us last minute

Fair price with excellent views of the city. You have to pay extra for parking, which is to be expected. Only negative thing I would have to say is that I came for business and the WiFi was too slow to get my work done.

The staff is very accomidating and friendly. The parking is reasonable for the location and you can come and go as you please with parking pass. The rate was good, the parking at $25 was reasonable, the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The problem was the other guests disregarding the no smoking policy. The 4th and 5th floor reeked of marijuana. It even came through the ventilation in our room. It was awful. There really wasn't anything the front desk could do, so hopefully your visit won't have the offenders that were there when we were.The hotel had a good pool use policy in place with timed sessions and wrist bands. Unfortunately, when our time was available, the pool was murky looking and the temperature was too cool to enjoy, so we just went back to our room.

Belongings left unreturned or not found. Reservations interpreted improperly and yelled at me to get out within 15 minutes. Deposit not returned. Room freezing. Not a place for business travel. Good location for a one nighter? Maybe?!

I took my kids for a night in town here because their pool is open and the room price was reasonable. There were no pool reservations available when we got there. It was snowing when we got there and the parking lot is outdoor, not valet and it's $25 (with in-out privileges). The lobby (which wreaked of weed) is small and awkward and there were a bunch of people waiting for help when I got there. Had to go back outside in the snow to get to the elevator to our room. Our room was tiny and outdated except for some new chairs and granite countertops in a bathroom with black/white check tiles from the 70's. There was even clear caulk over caked-on dust that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in decades. There was a 1' gap and draft under our door to the hall which made us nervous with Covid. The two double beds were comfy and the mattresses and box springs all had new looking bug proof covers on them which made me feel better about staying. Our room overlooked the parking lot and the renovated Rock n Roll McDonalds--not the worst. Although the rates are cheap for being downtown Chicago, it wasn't worth it. Next time I'll spring for a better hotel.

This is what you dream of...a tough situation that requires you to blow into town for one day in order to personally handle a mess. Lots on your mind and you find a front desk clerk (Katie) who is just down to earth enough, understanding and savvy enough... takes care of everything and leaves you to rest and do your thing! My car was even taken care of!!!

The staff here is outstanding. Very friendly and willing to go the extra step! And they have their own parking lot. Very handy. Pool area is very nice. I do wish the pool temp was a little warmer. You are located on a busy street so you will hear cars and the like during the night.

The guest desk staff service is really good. Cleanliness in the room is very poor, really bad. Stinky room, with old masks and trash under bed ad night table. No housekeeping attetion at any time.Location is perfect.

I stay here normally twice a year. Parking is affordable. Pizzeria is awesome and has a nice bar with great employee. Always enjoy their company. I wish they had a better continental breakfast but you do get coffee and a granola bar.

Great location and price but often attracts partiers and young people that might drink and smoke (all kinds of stuff) and be a lit rowdy late at night. the staff is nice and restaurant in the hotel is awesome! Great food and they will bring to the room hot and fresh, which is a bonus during Covid. All tings considered it is a little better than average but not quite- very good.

Pros: Good Location in the heart of river north. A lot of good restaurants walking distance. Cons: Bed need to be improved. Room has a fair space with an office table. Maritza from the front desk is the most adorable person. If you need something just call her. She will do everything she can. The Bar inside the hotel is pretty good with a fair price for a drink late night.

I have stayed at your hotel several times while visiting Chicago. I love the updated decor and the new breakfast vouchers. The hotel is within walking distance of practically everything we wanted to see.

During COVID 19 spike, no masks on staff in rooms or common areas. Back door to ground floor broken, unlocked at all times. Drug deals occurred in parking lot-even an overdose event 20 feet fr our car

Have stayed here several times and the staff continues to be excellent. Kind and courteous, they go out of their way to take care of us. I asked for extra blankets and towels and they quickly brought them. The parking area is well attended and makes me feel safe.

Unfortunately We Experienced A Powerage Recently And Needed A Night Just To Recoupe From No Power For 5 Days Total, 4 Nights. Everything Was Clean And Suitable For A Quick Trip To The City From The Suburbs.

Weed Den w/high traffic from what appeared to be teenage hoodlums. I was awakened by loud noise, arguing, strong spell of marijuana 24/7. Guests was smoking marijuana throughout the hotel and in the elevator as well as in the parking lot.

The pictures on their website look much better than the room I got. The hotel was easy to get to an check in went well. The lady who checked us in was very nice. Once my kids and I parked, we walked in and noticed how smelly and small the hallways were. This is a very very old building and it shows. The trim looks like it has been painted over 20 times in 80 years. Our room was small and there was a ton of hair in our tub drain. The carpet was stained and looked 15 plus years old. I got the feeling this was sort of the hotel that locals came to as it was cheaper than other downtown hotels. We saw a lot of guest who looked like it was just a nightly room and not a vacation. The best part was the location. We were able to walk to Michigan avenue in about 10 minutes. I would stay there again if I got the room for under $100. Any more and it is not worth it.

Hotel was clean and most staff was friendly and helpful. Suite was huge and nice furniture. No breakfast included. Restaurant attached was decent for breakfast. Location is close to many food options within walking distance. Pool was very comfortable and clean with a pool deck attached only to be able to use when time allotted in the pool. We would stay here again but to visit the city more as they only allow you 1 hr in the pool per day.

I searched many hotels in downtown Chicago and this was the best value for money. The two separate buildings were a bit awkward but were not that big of a problem. The rooms were spacious for our family of four. A great feature is the view from the upper balcony where the pool is located. We have some great evening photos from this spot in our trip album. The front desk staff were very friendly and we loved being able to come for an ice cream treat at the end of each day. We made use of the great location downtown and walked to most of the sites we wanted to see, leaving our car in the parking spot. A free breakfast would have been nice but there are restaurants within walking distance if needed.

Great staff, excellent stay, when I travel out of town I always use Best Western, it make me feel like I'm at home. My family's use this hotel for family's reunion, wedding and other functions. We love it

They would not refund my money for a stay I prepaid for before the COVID pandemic. I had prepaid for 2 nights at the River North Hotel in Chicago in February, 2020 for a stay starting July 20th. I was going to see the Cubs play at Wrigley. I live in Austin, TX. I realized pretty early there was almost no possibility that the game would be played, but I waited until the league made it official late in June. I called BW customer service on July 2 to see about a refund. A customer service person told me that they had a policy to refund prepaid stays made before the pandemic. Great! But, the offer had expired on June 30th so they couldn't give me a refund. Wait what?! I ask why they hadn't notified me about the refund policy and its deadline. She said the information had been available on their website. I mentioned the deadline was just 2 days ago. She said the information had been available on their website. I mentioned the baseball game in Chicago had only just been canceled. She said the information had been available on their website. I was beginning to think maybe the info had been available on their website. Would it have been too much to ask for an email letting me know about the offer and deadline? They sent me an email confirmation when I booked the room. Heck, they email me daily with sales promotions. No email. The information had been blah, blah, blah. She did contact the hotel for me. She told me the hotel offered to give me a voucher good for 1 year for the 2 nights - good only at that hotel. I explained that really didn't help me. I am almost never in Chicago. I ask for a voucher that would work at other Best Westerns. Nope. I even asked for reward points. No can do. But she did tell me to feel free to call the hotel directly. So, I did. The woman was rude. She said they already told me (through corporate) what they were willing to do – That is it! Nice. I tried to explain about the baseball game just being canceled. Crickets. I pointed out that it was only 2 days past the deadline. “It was on the website.” I mentioned I live in Texas. So. Then she hung up on me. Thanks. So, Wyndham here I come. Bet you thought I was going to say Worst Western in here some place, didn't you?

Very clean and affordable. Location is ideal for a night on the town or daily site seeing and shopping. Parking on site made it easy to come and go as well. Ice maker and vending on floor were in good working order and easy to find. Had issue with AC unit and would suggest mini fridges. Great stay overall and would definitely stay again.

The hotel offered good value. It is centrally located for restaurants and shopping. The air conditioner was noisy fortunately it was not that warm that I had to run it all night. Pillows were not great.

The hotel room and long was clean great restaurant in the hotel and a Stunning roof top view and pool. The staff during check out was fast and very nice. Parking in the hotel is $25 and the rooms arent too pricey. I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend if staying down town.

We were in Chicago to visit museums and see the sights. This hotel was a perfect choice as it was clean and comfortable. We made use of the pool, but mostly we were there just to sleep and relax after a busy day sightseeing. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were many restaurants nearby and parking was reasonable on site. We had a great worry free stay. We would not hesitate to return.

Overall a good vfm hotel that does great at all levels. Location was quite good with walking distance to the river. Room was clean and spacious with plenty of amenities, but the floor level had a bad smell once you got out of the elevator. Price was a good vfm, service was quite good & helpful without any issues and check in and check out was hassle free. Clean staff was sometimes operating at hours of silence so noise nuissance was my major issue since walls were really thin and I could hear almost everything and it was ruining the general pleasuring experience. All in all I would recommend it especially for the price.

Very noisy within hotel throughout night. Not typical city noise. Hotel was clean overall. Parking somewhat reasonable and within walking distance to the Willis tower and many restaurants and stores. We felt very safe.

Clean, Safe, Fun, and Friendly. The staff was really friendly and made us feel safe and comfortable. They provided knowledge and advice that would be useful to anyone visiting Chicago. The kids really liked the pool which was large and up to 8 feet deep. Felt cold getting in but was not after one is in, which is nice because it wasn't soupy warm and gross like some. Neat view of Chicago from the pool area deck. The area is surrounded by many new high rises and is near the L train and Subways in either direction. The bus also stops within a block but runs weekends only. The area seems safe.

I was unaware that I had to pay a deposit of $100 during check-in. This potentially could have ruined the experience that I had already paid and reserved in advance, if I had not had the money on hand at the time. The wifi was not good and a lamp in my room did not turn on. I was also unaware that there was not a microwave or refrigerator in the room I reserved. But overall, the room was nice and the staff was very kind.

Normally we drive 4 hours one way for my son's clubfoot apts. This time we decided to stay to avoid 8 hours of driving in a day, this idea was soooo much better. Everyone was so friendly. We didn't get to swim, but will next time.

We had a nice stay. I was a little leary because some downtown hotels in Chicago are old and musty. Granted this is an old hotel and the hallways and bathroom decor in the hotel do reflect that, but the room was large, clean and I was comfortable. My room smelled like pizza I'm assuming from the restaurant but it wasn't a big deal. The heating system was a little noisy but the bedroom was separate from the living room so it did not disrupt our sleep. The restaurant/bar was open until 1am so that was convenient. The hotel is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and nightlife. Parking is $25/night which seemed to be the cheapest in the area. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall it was a good stay.

A great place to stay while at a Conference in Chicago. Enjoyed the facilities as well as excellent hotel staff. A great place to walk to the Magnificent Mile about 5 blocks or the Chicago Theater for a show about 7 blocks and especially Portobello's restaurant and the Hard Rock withing two blocks.

The stay wasn't overly horrible. There were a few downsides. When booking, we searched for locations with free parking, and this was one of the first few to pop up close to our destination. Upon arrival, we were charged a parking fee of $25. If I had known that, I would have kept looking. Also, It's mid February, and it's one of the coldest times of the winter so far. To get to the 5th floor, you have to walk outside to get to the elevators. We were not told about the internal elevator in the lobby behind the desk to take up to 4th and switch elevators to get to 5th. The only other thing we didn't like was how uneven the floors were. It felt like we were tripping just walking through the room. The restraint downstairs was amazing, and we ended up having to take the pizza to go. Thank god it was cold out, because pizza had to sit in the car. There was no fridge in the room like we had expected. Communication amongst staff must not have been good. Within the first 5 minutes, the cleaning lady is barging Into our room, and sees me standing there. She apologized and told me she was not aware someone was in this room. Not to bash on the hotel, the stay was more than wonderful, but there are a few misleading things we were not prepared for.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Everything was clean and orderly. The breakfasts were substantial, with a good variety of choices. The location is convenient, walking distance from many downtown attractions and the main transportation hubs.

Great location for a Hotel so you can't really go wrong. I made full use of the Swimming Pool and the bar Vouchers we received. Only issues were the thin walls, noisy outside noises, slow elevator (quicker to use the stairs) and the confusing building layout. Would defiantly look to stay there again if I was in the area.

Everyone working was VERY kind, from check in, to dining, Maintenance. ALL were helpful and caring. Liked the Free coffee available in lobby anytime. It is wonderful to see and hear employees helping each other as working together as a team on the same side! Beds a bit firmer than I prefer and rooms a bit smaller than usual! But we were NOT in our room much other than to sleep. Is the reason for NOT ALL 5's. Thanks for allowing Us to leave comments:-)

River North Hotel has been our choice as an affordable hotel for our family when bringing our daughter back and forth to college over the years. We've always been pleased with the staff and our stay. It might be older than some of the other hotels, but it is not lacking.

We hosted my daughter's 13th birthday party here. The suites were large and spacious. The pool was a good size considering that it's hard to find a pool in that area. We had pizza from the restaurant in the building delivered to the pool. We walked to navy pier and to shopping. Great experience for 10 young ladies!

This particular location was very close to downtown Chicago amenities and restaurants and within walking distance of pretty much anywhere you need to go via Metro or otherwise. Very clean staff was courteous especially love the breakfast which was made with fresh ingredients and healthy choices. The bed was very comfortable and even though we had four people to a double room we had plenty of space.

This hotel was very nice and professional. It had a convenient location that allowed us to walk many places. It was within walking distance to many locations including Moody Bible Institute. Very helpful concierge service as well!

This place is the perfect choice staff is awesome especially Christian and William the house keeping and Valet are all 5star employees the roof pool and patio are great during the summer rooms are updated...

Love the room and the good service. Enjoyed the pool with our grandchildren which made the time special with them. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was good and right across from a McDonald's which our grandchildren enjoyed as well.

Pretty good hotel in Chicago you can do a lot of sightseeing directly from here. Hotel is nice rooms are large and clean beds are comfortable the only thing I was missing was a refrigerator. Parking rates are decent

It's located downtown but it was noisy. I was in Chicago to attend classes for a certification. Roughly 1:30am- 2:30am in the morning, Hubby and I are trying to go to sleep and we hero all this really really really loud music a lot of people talking loud! I called for ear plugs and security come up stairs. The guard said the hotel agreed to let the tour bus guests come into the hotel to use the bathroom but they weren't suppose to park in front of the hotel. The bus eventually left, I was very sleepy in class the next day. My husband said the pillows were too hard for him. The room was clean. I didnt offer a microwave or refrigerator which you had to ask for. Parking was $25 a night which was a lower than hotels that were closer to my class..that why I stayed here.

Everything from the time you arrive to the time you leave is excellent. Rooms are great as well as the staff. The food in Pizzeria Ora is awesome as it always is. Don't forget to try it for breafast. The hotel is also in a great location.

Nice Hotel just some confusion with deposit and parking charges. I do suggest using a major credit card for this not a debit card makes it easier to dispute and not have to wait for your money back. Otherwise a pleasant say.

Room was a bit smaller than I expected for two people. Wasn't completely satisfied with the front desk staff member I check in when we arrived. Seemed to have a bit of an attitude towards me when I asked for details regarding the bill. Each time when my friend and I would pass by the lobby he seemed to give me a "look." Not super helpful but I also work in customer service as well and anything that's "off" like that turns me away. Room was fine! Not sure if I'll be staying at this hotel chain again.

The hotel is very clean. They have a very nice parking space Attach to the Building. The maintenance staff and cleaning staff are very polite. The girl behind the counter and her Manager not very polite. For this one particular experience in January of 2020 that is. However most of the front counter staff are friendly. The restaurant attached to the hotel has extremely good food and extremely polite staff they a very clean too. The pool is big and nice with a beautiful outside attached area with a nice view of Chicago. They have a nice but small work out area next to the pool. Over all we enjoyed our stay the kids love the pool so when they are happy we are happy.

I'm a Diamond Select member and my room was complimentary. The front desk staff and Bell Hops were outstanding. Very friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and they held our luggage while we went for a drink. Upon check out they held our luggage again. This time all day as our train didn't leave until late. Will recommend River North to others. I plan on staying again in March.

The staff was attentive and friendly. A few minutes after arrival we called someone to unlock our bathroom door (thanks to our 2 yr. old). The room was clean and beds comfortable. The location is within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, stores etc. Free parking is a bonus.

I really like to location of this hotel and usually the price. This trip was no exception. The location is just a couple of blocks from the Red Line, so getting around Chicago is easy. It's also close to shopping and stores to buy groceries. I've been coming to the Best Western River North for over 30 years and I'm always very happy with the staff, location and value for the price.

We enjoyed staying at Best Western River North Hotel. The room was quiet and spacious. The staff was extremely helpful in helping us with advice on how to use the transportation options. The restaurant food was quite good. Every single employee was helpful and nice! Would definitely stay there again!

We went to the Holiday Lights Parade for the first time in November 2019. We knew nothing about the city so finding a hotel was really important that could accommodate our needs. This was the perfect hotel! It is literally a four block walk to Michigan Avenue and it has tons of great restaurants around the area not to mention the convenience of a restaurant in the hotel. Now don't get me wrong there were not a lot of bells and whistles with this hotel. No chandeliers or 15 feet Christmas trees but we literally were only in our room to sleep with all the activities around the city. The hotel was clean, the staff professional and accommodating and the location perfect. Rooms are small but again, we only used it for sleeping. Parking was ONLY $25 which is unheard of in Chicago and the room was very reasonable. We will stay again!

Excellent location in downtown Chicago friendly helpful staff lovely to have an indoor heated pool lovely big rooms bathroom clean and tidy but on the (very) small side. Wouldn't put us off staying there again though.

The hotel is at a great location in Chicago with easy access to lots of attraction. The room was also spacious and quiet. Plus you can't beat the free coffee and ice cream! They were also very accommodating with early check-in and late check-out.

We have been spending a Christmas weekend as a family here for many years. I have even used this location during work related travels Chicago. The location is great for walking to restaurants, neighborhoods, and shopping on either State Street or Michigan Ave. Book early to get the best rates. The personnel are all friendly and do all they can to help you with anything.

The staff is super friendly and helpful with the questions we had about restaurants, directions, etc. Our suite had plenty of room for four people. It was a good place to stay. It is a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile and is near many restaurants and shopping locations.

From checkin to checkout everything went smoothly and well. The reservation was perfect and a mini suite was given as we requested. Many of the staff were people we've met through other stays at the property. The location is right where we want to be.

Wonderful staff and very clean ! Kids loved the pool and amazing location free ice cream at desk made the kids very happy this was my 5th stay and will definitely return in summer ..the pool deck has beautiful views of the city

We had an excellent stay here with great views from our hotel room and the roof top. We enjoyed the pool, restaurant-bar is right in the lobby. It is centrally located near quite a few good restaurants.

The Best Western River North Hotel offers BW quality in the finish of the rooms with parking that is reasonable for Chicago AND a location that gives walkers easy access to important sites in the Loop as well as along Michigan Avenue going north to WaterTower Place and beyond. Prices are highly competitive and the staff is first rate. Being able to park in a covered area for $25/night (and sometimes less) is a real plus. Our only problem during this stay was an iffy WiFi...but we've stayed there before with no problems, and I'm sure we'll stay there again.

Short stay in Chicago for a long weekend. The hotel is placed perfect for our trip, short ride to the museums, Lincoln Park, and numerous restaurant choices. Short walk to Navy Pier and the price for parking can't be beat. Very pleased.

Birthday celebration that need to be near all Chicago loop attractions and this by far the best value and quality I have ever discovered. The location is good and restaurants are in a variety, safety is paramount and is very good.

Checkin was a disaster. The reception working was extremely rude, didn't even greet us. Going to the room it was gross. Our view was dumpsters which we did not mind but had to ask to switch rooms because this one was so dirty. Our new room was better but couldn't sleep for the next 3 nights. Noise control was over the roof. You can hear every little conversation and steps. The restaurant wasn't even that great. Bartender didn't even want to take our order. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Everything was walkable which we enjoyed getting out of this ridiculous hotel.

BW Rivernorth is a Great deal. Location parking and a good breakfast. Staff very friendly .Don't forget the ice cream from the front desk. Parking is the cheapest in town. Portillos is a great choice for lunch .

If you don't want to spend an arm and two legs to spend a weekend in the downtown area, this is a Nice hotel within walking distance to the Magnificent Mile and the awesome things to see and do in Chicago.

The location was small but the overall apperance was great! I didn't have any complaints. The staff was very friendly and they offered coffee, water, tea and hot chocolate at all times. The location was very secured and I loved the pool!

Great staff, very helpful, would love to find them in every hotel I visit. The room was clean and a great price. However, the heater unit was so loud when it would wake you up every time it came on. Also the toilet was really, really loud. And unfortunately the ice maker was outside our room and could be heard whenever it made more ice. So, for cheap and clean, it's good, with some problems

I was thrilled to find this hotel. Right near most tourist attractions.....$25 A NIGHT parking instead of $70 a night like other hotels....clean and updated rooms.....we will definitely stay here again in the future. I have no complaints. Even the hot chocolate in the lobby on a freezing cold night was perfect. Staff was just wonderful too. Thank you!

Staff was extremely helpful and nice. Location was excellent. Our group had 4 children ranging in age from 4 to 12. We were able to walk to most of our activities (and we did a lot of activities). The pool was clean, beautiful view from pool area.

Convenient location. Within walking distance of the entire city center, the lake. At the same time, the hotel is in a quiet location. On the top floor there is a swimming pool, a fitness center and a terrace.

Great location; Entrance somewhat hidden from the street; older renovated building with friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant had deep dish pizza very good with full bar. They also served breakfast. Enclosed pool on top floor.

This hotel was very nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed. The best part was the large indoor pool area - again clean and warm and nice towels were available. Restaurants are within walking distance as is a drug store and food store. This was a good choice and I would stay here again.

i have stayed at this hotel in chicago more than any other, including 3 times in November. it is very comfortable and they go out of their way to make sure i have a nice stay. complementary coffee and ice cream bars in the hotel plus great pizza restaurant attached to the hotel that also has a nice hot breakfast.

This hotel is located in a perfection location in the city of Chicago. It is close yet far enough from all of the hustle and bustle of downtown. The rooms are clean, odor free, swimming pool is great for the kids with a view of the city. The pizza restaurant on site is excellent for dinner with reasonable prices.

The hotel is very clean and tidy, and the service is very good. The location of the hotel is also very convenient and safe. Recommend this hotel. If I come to Chicago next time, I will book this hotel again.

We booked 2 rooms for a bachelorette party. The 2 bedroom suite is amazing. The other room was average. Beds could've been queens instead of doubles. Bathrooms were clean. One negative- I called ahead to ask if the rooms could be close together since we were a group & the person I spoke to was a bit rude saying he would make sure that we weren't together. However, when we arrived I asked, & they accommodated. If it were warmer, the balcony would've been great to utilize.

Everyone working here was very pleasant. I loved how the lobby was decorated. The price was so reasonable! The hotel was right down the street from rainforest Cafe and McDonald's. We were able to come down to the front desk for free ice cream sandwiches and push pops so my daughter loved that. Pool was clean and it was nice and warm in there.

Great location. walking distance to all sorts of food and entertainment. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were in great shape. Parking ($$) onsite. We didn't need our car after arriving, were able to walk everywhere.

It's not posh, but I find Best Western River North an excellent choice for me, especially when I travel for opera. The rates are great. It has everything I need. Service is absolutely excellent.. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast, with limited choices, is actually cooked in a real kitchen. Wonderfully friendly staff.

We enjoyed our visit to the Windy City. This property was close enough for us to walk or short Uber ride to a lot of the sites we wanted to see. While it was not in the midst of it all we felt it was close enough. Very friendly staff.

Best Western gets top honors for this little gem right in the heart of Chicago. Neat, clean, and reasonable with amazing customer service. I would highly recommend if you just want to be able to enjoy Chicago without having to worry about finding parking or paying an arm and a leg... A+ Hotel and A+ Customer Service.

Appreciate this hotel. Clean rooms! Great staff! Price for a downtown Chicago hotel was decent! I love the location too. River North is a great part of the city. I've stayed at this BW twice and will stay any chance I can. It's practical in every way.

My daughter and I came to Chicago from CA. We came on one of the coldest weeks in a long Time! But you would never have known it because Wallace and other staff made us feel welcome and offered us hot chocolate! He told us all about fun things to do in the area and how we could walk to Moody where my daughter was visiting for College days. The staff even moved our luggage to another room when we were out and about since we were staying another night. The rooms were very comfortable and lots of space. Restaurant was reasonable and good food. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and give it an A+ on service!

Excellent room (apart from the lack of tea facilities) and bathroom. Light and with a pleasant feel. Bed comfortable beds with fresh, clean white linen. Terrific location, just a few blocks' walk from Magnificent Mile, restaurants and shops. 10 minutes walk to the river for the river walkway, and Architecture cruises, and views, and also in walk-able distance of other sights such as Millennium Park, the fabulous Art Institute of Chicago, Macy's etc. Wasn't at all cheap due to our stay coinciding with the Marathon. but to be woken by the cheers and barracking and hooting of the crowd on the Sunday morning,as the runner went passed our hotel, is something we'll always remember! Check in and out were a little slow, but otherwise, staff were pleasant and helpful.

We had a great 3 night stay. Room was beautifully clean, modern and warm. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Wallace met us with a lovely smile and was great arranging our transport and excursions. This is a good to excellent mid-level property in the heart of the River North area. Rooms are modern, but show their age with HVAC, noise, etc. Bed is rock hard. Unlike most BW's, no breakfast included, but a nice coffee bar in the lobby. Front desk staff was exceptional to OK. The gentleman that handled our bags should be promoted to property ambassador. He's a rock star and probably under valued. Parking is a value here at about $25/night.

This hotel is in a good location, easy walk to many sightseeing places. Rooftop patio would be nice in warm weather. The staff were very pleasant, efficient and helpful. Our room had 2 beds, was a a little smaller than some but comfy and clean.

In all the hotels I've been in this one has to have one of the best employees. They all just seemed genuinely happy to be there. They offered help for anything I needed and went above and beyond in service.

I found it convenient for visiting major landmarks. Rooms were a little worn and had a view of a grubby alley outside my window, but wasnt far off from wjats expected of a Best Western. Received good customer service, especially from Wallace.

Rooms are clean and nice! Beds were comfortable and I could see the maids cleaning the rooms and they are thoroughly cleaned when you check out! I've been here for four days and the staff is friendly! Location is within walking distance (0.5 mile) of the shopping district! Great food all within walking distance! Would stay again and should I mention great price!

This hotel is comfortable and clean, and it oozes customer service. The staff is professional, in uniform, and soooo nice. They smile and actually ask you if you need anything. Roof top pool and patio is nice. The rooms have those high ceilings and large windows that I love. Due to growth over time the building is a little chopped up, narrow hallways, elevators not reaching certain floors. It only adds to the uniqueness and you get used to it. There are many bars and restaurants within walking distance. I will be returning, it is a happy place.

1. The bathroom smelled Terrible!! It had a stench! We had to keep the bathroom door shut otherwise the smell would permeate the room! 2. The room was hot as hell and we could not get it comfortable I turned on the air, but it did not work properly and no one was even willing to come up and help us. I called down to the front desk to get a fan telling them that it was very warm in our room, and they didn't even offer to come up and tend to the issue.. 3. The windows were filthy , and we could barely see out of them! The left window curtain was sodered shut so we couldn't even open the curtain to let natural light in the next morning! 4. They said the hotel was updated which may be true, but the elevator looked and sounded like you were walking into a dungeon! It was black old paint scratched, loud, and did not match the walls. 5. The curtains were not updated or replaced to sit flush against the windows so what natural like there was kind of woke you up in the morning because it would peek through since they did not sit flush. I brought my own chip clips to help that matter!! 6. We asked for a late check out and that was not communicated between the hotel employees because there was a knock at our door at 11A.M. and we were still sleeping. Luckily my sister heard the knock at the door and was able to communicate this mishap to the housekeeping staff at the door. The housekeeper said she was not aware of our late checkout request since none of her coworkers communicated it to her that's why she was knocking at our door.. 7. One positive the hotel staff was friendly, but need to communicate with each other! 

Fast check in, the room was very clean and comfortable, the bed was very clean and comfortable, good location - walking distance to Millenium Park, great restaurants within walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. It is very convenient to downtown and to area restaurants. For hotels near the miracle mile, the price is very competitive. However, there are a couple of drawbacks. First, it's noisy. The front desk does hand out free earplugs. Use them. Second, the beds are very, very hard. If you like firm beds and can sleep with earplugs, this is a truly great value. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We spent 3 days visiting our daughter. We used this location primarily for sleep. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The parking was also convenient. Close to restaurants and expressway.

The hotel is situated between a lot of great restaurants and a less than 10 minute ride to Navy Pier. I was able to get an Uber in 2 minutes. The hotel was a great stay in a great location. I would stay there again.p

We had a lovely time at this hotel! We were lucky to get the family suite that could fit our large family. We had a few minimal things like the heater didnt work but they tried to fix it. Also the shower didnt drain. Yes the elevator is slow but everything else is great! Room was clean and beds were comfortable. There are great restaurants within walking distance. Make sure you stop by and meet Wallace. He helped us so much.

Family vacation in Chicago for a few days. Good location that we were able to walk to a lot of things that we wanted to see. I did like the onsite parking and rates were lower than surrounding areas. Check in was not very fast but apparently there was a lot going on in the city that week and it was packed out. My kids really loved the free ice creams the front desk gave away and the pool on the roof.

We were a family staying in Chicago for a few days, great location to walk to the river walk and other areas. The onsite parking was also nice. They have a pool and balcony on the 6th floor that were also nice with good day and evening views of the city. We felt safe in the area both day and evening. The river walk is nice during the day and worth also checking out at night. We would stay here again.

Hotel is an excellent value, close to downtown yet reasonably priced and near dining options. Reception desk was very helpful, and the in-out parking is a definite plus. We have stayed before and would stay again.

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the Best Western Chicago River North location. It is in a good location for walking to restaurants, shopping, etc. Also, the restaurant, Pizzeria Ora, has delicious breakfast, (did not eat dinner there) and very good service. The hotel staff is very nice, as well as the young man who watched over the cars/valet in the parking lot.

Overall experience good. Didn't like the entry where you had to climb steps. Didn't enjoy using the elevator in the parking lot to get to our room on the third floor..did enjoy all the staff. Very courteous. Did appreciate coffee available all day.

The staff was extremely personable. A great place to stay. The location was perfect! So many places were within walking distance including a multitude of restaurants & pubs. The $25 parking fee per night was the lowest around.

What a great stay we had here in Chicago! Three of us had a girl's weekend and we reserved a suite at this hotel. We got a fabulous rate and a perfect room for us. We got a very large king bed suite with sofa bed in a separate living room area. There was a roof top indoor pool, lounging deck and fitness room and we were even able to check in a little early when we arrived. They even let us keep our luggage on site after we checked out so we didn't have to cart it around all day before we left in the evening on the train. There is an on-site Pizza Parlor and Bar which was convenient for a meal. Wallace the concierge for the hotel was awesome. He hailed taxis for us, directed us to sites and discounts and helped make our stay in Chicago much easier to get around and so much fun! Definitely coming back next year for our now annual girls get away weekend!

We booked here for the location. The staff were super friendly & helpful giving us hints & tips on where to go & interested in what we got up to throughout the day. The hotel parking is easy, rooms comfortable & as I said superb location. I loved the free coffee & water at reception it's just what you need to get your day started. We took full advantage of the pool & swam everyday, towels provided too. I would stay again.

Going back to Chicago por a short visit I managed to locate de Best Western River North Hotel, with a great location, good price, and excellent attention. At walking distance to downtown, with a Peruvian restaurant in the corner, coffee places and taxis at hand, I got the feeling that this time I got the best for a faire price. The personal is attentive, breakfast offer some choices, and the rooms are clean and fresh,

I came to Chicago for Pokemon Go Fest and stayed here for one night in a Double Queen Bed Suite. It was SO NICE! (As you'll see in the pics I'm including. I called before I came to inquire about my room type, which originally was just a regular double room, and talked to the most awesome, down to earth employee possible, a guy named Christian. He's the one who got me the upgrade bc it was the size room I needed for the amount of people staying in it. (Our air bnb apartment stay accidentally was booked a day short). When my friends and I arrived at the room in was one wow factor after another....great location with lots of restaurants around it, easy access to public transportation, & super close to other great places to visit. We arrived before check in so they gladly tagged our bags and held them while we explored the city and once we got up to the room it was so nice. The decor was immaculate, the room very spacious, view from the room was beautiful. It also had a lounge area with table & chairs, a desk, and the usual stuff like tv. Bathroom was decorated very modern, shower had great water pressure, it was everything my group & I needed. The lobby area even had a computer area where we could all print our plane boarding passes. My trip was awesome, I loved every minute at the hotel, & definitely plan on staying again during future Chicago trips. Highly recommend this hotel. 5 stars in my book! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Excellent location right downtown, and very affordable for the area. Very few amenities. No minifridge or microwave. Cable was not working while I was there. I let the front desk know, but nothing happened. The hallway was dank and a little smelly. Parking was affordable and flexible. Free ice cream sandwiches at the front desk.

The hotel is located very close to popular restaurants, Hard Rock Cafe, Rain Forest Cafe, etc. Easy walk to Chicago River, and other sites. Rooms were a little confusing to find but a clean, comfortable and affordable (for Chicago). Parking only $25.

This was our second time staying at River North. Excellent location central to all amenities and easy to get around. The staff are really friendly and helpful with nice clean rooms. This is my choice of hotel if I travel to Chicago again.

Stayed here for one night and got a good deal, especially pleased with the "reasonable" parking rate - about half of what we've paid in the past in Chicago. Our room was lovely, clean and well decorated. When we checked in we were asked if we'd prefer a room with a view, or one that was quiet. Apparently you can't have both...we chose the view and barely slept. The street noise is horrible, sirens, motorcycles, trucks...yikes. We will stay here again but next time will definitely choose the quiet option. Location is great, we love to walk and hiked all over the city. Never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Nice bar with a friendly bartender (forgot his name). Beds very comfortable but pillows lumpy or hard.

Super friendly staff! William was very helpful and Wallace! I cannot say enough good about Wallace! Made us feel totally comfortable and was full of information.Anything we needed to know he was there! He is the reason we are staying again. We stayed 2 nights due to testing at Northwestern. First night we didnt have the greatest view metioned it next morning to a young lady who was super sweet also and she moved us right into a room with a awesome view!The restraurant in the hotel Pizza Ora was awesome! Especially their homemade soups! I unfortunately dee alot of trips to Northwestern in my future but at least i have a home away from home.

I booked a single night out with my fiance in a King bedroom. I'm a Platinum member and when I checked in, I requested a complimentary upgrade to a King suite. There were several suites available and I was offered the suite upgrade, which was very nice of the manager and staff to offer to me. The room was very spacious and I liked that there was lots of room so that we do not feel cramped. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept very well. I really liked the black and white tiles in the bathroom because it looks very classic. My fiance was still at work when I checked in, so I went and checked out the pool and roof terrace. I was very impressed by the size of the pool and the roof terrace was very nice to get some fresh air and a great view. There was some noise from traffic outside periodically since our room was in the corner directly next to a busy intersection, but I'm used to the noise from living close to Midway Airport, so it did not bother me that much. Perhaps the windows could muffle the sound a little better since I'm sure some other people would complain more. I would definitely consider staying here again. I liked the older feel of the building because it is part of Chicago history, even though the building was updated. Very unique experience and the price was reasonable/competitive for being a downtown hotel.

First time visit to any city calls for the best concierge in town., That would be Wallace!! His enthusiasm is so contagious he can't give his suggestions fast enough. His first concern was our time frame and interests. Then he gave the best suggestions and directions. He was so fun, it was hard to let him assist others. His ideas were just as he promised. He was the reason we returned to the same BW the following weekend. Plus the hotel was quiet and conveniently located. The rooftop patio was a delightful respite to watch the evening approach as we relaxed. Make a point to visit the amazing McDonald's across the street.

This was my second stay at the Chicago Best Western River North hotel-I was there 3 years ago-and it was an excellent experience. They have very high standards for customer service, great amenities, a great location, and comfy rooms. It is in a safe area-very important for me-with close by eating places like Portillo's, McDonald's & Rainforest Café. There's a Walgreen's nearby and a Jewel Osco grocery store down the street, an Anti-Cruelty Society where you can visit animals waiting to be adopted. It's also a pretty direct walk (I get lost easily so appreciate this one) to Michigan Ave. and museums. The hotel itself has a nice lobby area and free computer use, free ice cream novelties, an indoor pool and fabulous rooftop deck where you can enjoy the view day or night and even bring your food there (but beware of the bees). It is best to try & stay in the main building to avoid a confusing walk to get the right elevator to the lobby. The staff are all very friendly & helpful and make a stay there a great experience .

We stayed here for a long weekend. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We arrived before check in and they were able to get us a room very quickly. Every interaction we had with the staff was pleasant. The room was a great size and very clean. The indoor pool was also a great amenity for my sons.

It was my first time in Chicago. I needed a place to stay for one night. My intended purpose was to go to a concert at the House of Blues. The location of the hotel was walking distance from the venue. The hotel itself was very nice and spacious.

Overall good location and size room. Staff was very friendly. Air conditioner was a little dusty and smelly and the restaurant/bar needed updating. It would've been nice to have a refrigerator without a charge.

Updated, comfortable, hotel in a great location. Close to restaurants, shopping, Pier and tour pick up. Staff was friendly and onsite parking was convenient. Pizzeria Uno wasn't the best we've had in Chicago but very good. Overall a great stay.

I liked this hotel , very good location, room was very clean and the staff where extremely helpful , onsite parking for a reasonable fee , very close to a few good pubs , pool and sun deck , just needs a jacuzzi but I'd definitely look at this hotel for my next visit to Chicago

This Hotel was great. It was in a nice location. It had an outdoor balcony off of the pool. Great to look at the sights of Chicago. We never used public transportation, We walked from the Amtrack station to our hotel. The service was great the hotel staff was very friendly. The only drawback was figuring out which elevator took you to the pool and balcony. Highly recommended.

This is a good location for people who are visiting people at Moody Bible Institute (0.8 miles away). Walking distance to the famous Portillo's Hotdogs, Rain Forest cafe, McDonald's, and Starbucks. A easy Uber ride to Navy Pier.

Wonderful staff, certainly made our visit memorable. Extremely professional and friendly and very accommodating to the needs and requests of the guests. The hotel is located in a great spot that allows you to go in all directions for shopping, dining, and seeing city attractions. The customer service is also good and the added bonus is that they serve a nice breakfast.

We always stay at the Best Western River North when we want a weekend in Chicago. It's an easy walk to the Streeterville and Gold Coast areas and the lakefront. We like the secure parking, plesant friendly staff, clean rooms and the awsome rooftop terrace. There's nothing like sitting on the terrace and watching the moon come over the city at the end of the day. We're already planning our next weekend getaway.

Very happy with my stay here! Located right in the centre of Chicago, you are within walking distance of everything. The perfect hotel if you want to see the main sights of Chicago! Considering I got a great deal on this hotel, I didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised! A very modern hotel with great rooms. No complaints whatsoever. Reception staff were really helpful. I actually moved here from Schaumburg so had my suitcase and arrived at 12 before check-in (3pm), they managed to find me a room early so I could store my suitcase and freshen up. They also offer complimentary ice cream cookies at reception. Worth it just for that! Only slight issue is that because it's downtown, the traffic can be heard, although it's not particularly loud or distracting. It wasn't an issue for me as I had earplugs and reception also offer you complimentary earplugs so you shouldn't have any problems!

The location fit our needs well. The onsight parking is nice to have. Room was typical size for the area. You have all the essentials but not alot of excess space. Room was up to date and clean. Staff was nice, but it was the slowest checkin I've ever experienced anywhere.

The hotel's location is good. The staff at reception were helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Liked the 24 hour tea and coffee facility. Enjoyed our stay- seeing Chicago for the first time.

I noticed that the rate had dropped significantly before I checked into the hotel, the lady who helped me said as a Diamond member, she said they normally don't do that, but she will honor the new rate and adjust it to the lower rate, and sent me a confirmation email on that. Low and behold, on the day i check out, got the bill under the door, and it got reverted back to the original (higher) rate, went to the reception to try to find out why, and they said well, that's the rate you signed for it on your checked in. Lesson learned, do not check in when you are exhausted, and make sure you read what you sign for. I really thought that I read the correct updated date during my check in, and I didn't think they will change or reverse it back to the higher rate when I check out.

Staff was very friendly and helpful when my sister misplaced her keys and wallet. Room was very clean and parking was very easy, and the best part was that the Packers beat the Bears in Chicago to open the NFL season!!

We were originally going to stay at the Grant Park Hotel and ended up changing at the last minute. This put us in a better location for tours, Navy Pier, the Chicago River and shopping in the Loop. We had a king suite for 5 days and could not have been happier!! The room was huge and clean, the latter being so much more important than the former. We were especially impressed by the lack of single use plastic - the shampoo and body wash are in a wall mounted dispenser. For those complaining of thin walls and exterior noise, it might be helpful to remember you are in the heart of the 3rd largest city in America. It does not close up shop at 8pm.

We had a wonderful stay. The front desk staff and parking attendants were fantastic. Always friendly and inviting! The front lobby is always inviting, clean, and provides 24hr coffee/tea/water. This location has the cheapest parking we found. Our only setback is, the elevator is small and often busy. The pool is always clean and they have larger pool towels avail! No more grabbing two to get yourself dried off. Haha. We are a family with two young kids. This hotel provided us an affordable amazing weekend downtown! We will return!

In town to visit local children's hospital. Only booked because of affiliation with hospital. Rooms very small, air conditioner not working correctly, and room got very warm soon after kicking off. Also very loud. Thin walls. Hallways are a big maze. No snack vending machine, have to retrieve any snacks from the front desk. Tiny bathroom, no refrigerator. Tiny elevators, even though there are a lot of them. The perimeter of the pool area was covered in spiders. Including all over the windows. Received 1 free breakfast voucher which was nice, but we had 3 people in the room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not worth the price in my opinion, even though it is on the lower end for the area.

While the pricing was decent for the area as it was very centrally located; the building was a maze which made check-in and check-out horrid and there were no hotel staff around to help. Our room was only accessibly by 1 of the three elevators and the signs were poorly placed and not helpful.

Very nice room and friendly staff. We arrived early and the front desk staff conveniently stored our luggage while we took a few hours to get familiar with the city. Close to Moody and downtown area. Will definitely return to this location for future trips.

From what's on your doorstep to what is within walking distance I am glad we chose The Best Western at River North. It has a cute roof terrace with sun lounges a pool and a small gym room. The rooms are decorated with nice little touches that represent the city & cosy. Reception/lounge has a refreshment stand with coffee, tea & water also if you ask at the desk they will give you ice cream treat. They also have a section for hot-desking and printing facility. You can request at the reception for a kettle and a fridge if there is one available as they are not kept in the rooms. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant as there are quite a few options nearby such as Meli's Cafe food is good about a 3-minute walk. Café Tola for hot chocolate & empanadas is across the street as well as Walgreens you can't miss McDonald's, Rainforest café and so many more so long as you have google maps you can see how close you are to a restaurant/supper market. They have a car park if you are driving. Millennium Park to see the Cloud (Bean) & Crown Fountain and so much more is about a 20min walk depending on how slow or fasts you are going but it's a nice way to see the city and take in your surroundings.

Hotel was very nice...ideal location for walking to attractions and great restaurants. Wallace and everyone at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. We really thought Wallace was our personal guide. No matter what we wanted to do, he listened, gave us options, and made us feel so welcomed. Rooms, including bathrooms, were a tad small but very clean. Parking was very reasonable and attendants were very courteous. Free coffee and ice cream were available in the lobby at any time.

All of this Best Western (BW) River North Chicago employees were great from check-in to check-out. We have stayed here for over 10 years due to location, price and Wallace. He has been the BEST help in getting us to places, suggestions for breakfast, lunch or dinner (check out the hotel's restaurant) always asks us if we're having a great time, clued us into the free ice cream (sandwiches or sherbet push-pops), always helpful, pleasant and kind. Our room had a great view, cleaning staff was excellent, always a parking space available (even after midnight), a rooftop pool that we had to ourselves, and many more amenities. We can afford to stay anywhere in Chicago, but we choose to stay here because of Wallace and the friendly, home-like feeling. Keep up the good work!

This hotel needs some serious upgrades. Our tub was chipped and the dispenser was always leaking. The room was spacious in the main area but the bathroom area was very cramped. We had a king suite but the bathroom definitely didn't live up to the title. The pool facility was nice (could use a jacuzzi) and the outside rooftop patio was very nice and relaxing. The elevator is way too tiny for a hotel - if anyone with multiple suitcases is arriving - they would have a hard time fitting the luggage and themselves in the elevator. Housekeeping was a huge letdown. We had requested our bedsheets be changed, and they ignored the request not one night but two nights in a row! Overall, the best western hasn't made me want to come back with the quality they've presented us on this trip.

Our hotel was great, the service was beyond usual which provided a great stay. Wallace assisted us on several occasions while we were there. The hotel was close to all the places we were going to visit. Plus the L (train) was close enough to get anywhere we desired.

This is the hotel I stay every time I visit Chicago. It is within walking distance of Michigan Avenue shopping, Navy Pier, Millennium Park and The Bean, the Riverwalk, and the L stop to head down to Wrigley Field. It is easy-off and easy-on from 90/94. I LOVE this hotel and all my friends who stay can't believe how perfect the location is. The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. We have never had a bad stay at Best Western River North.

The Best Western River North Hotel exceeded our expectations on all of the normal ingredients one wants in a downtown hotel, but the best part about the hotel is its location. We were on foot or used Chicago's many public transportation choices and the hotel was in a perfect location to go nearly anywhere. When in Chicago again, we will certainly return to this hotel.

Cons: my floor was only accessible from the elevator in the parking garage (strange) + it smelled a little off, but nothing I couldn't handle. My room was small + so were the beds. Pros: breakfast was so good! Wallace @ front desk was overly kind and gave excellent service! I would come back bc of him. I think if I had a room on the “other side” it would've been a cleaner experience! Overall, good for what I needed (one night in Chicago)!

Love the location and the front desk was very helpful - the restaurant adjacent was very good and convenient and breakfast was delicious. When we had to get a cab, the front gentleman went out and flagged us a cab. Located so close to a lot of different restaurants and right around from the double decker tour bus.

BW River North has an excellent location in the heart of Chicago! Easy walking distance to many attractions and the "L" subway. My room was nicely decorated and the A/C worked perfectly during the heat wave. The pool and patio was lovely - excellent view of the city. Staff was very friendly and the parking attendants were also very helpful with directions and carrying bags. For the price, I was very happy with my stay at BW River North.

Very good stay rooms were very clean nice big tv and comfortable bed ,nice indoor pool with an outside balcony with great views of the city skyline.the hotel is a great location lot of food places near by including hard rock cafe,rain Forest cafe and potilos. Mag mile is a 5-10 minute walk and Willis tower around 20-25 minute walk. Over all very happy with the hotel

Stayed here 2 nights. Had a one bedroom suite with lots of room and nicely decorated. Also very clean. Great location in River North and the price was right. Excellent value for the money. Will definitely stay here the next time we are downtown.

This was my first time to stay overnight in Chicago. The place was clean and I liked the location. The only thing I don't like is the A/C turns off and on so often. The other thing I don't like is the price to pay for parking. It was $25 a night to park.

This hotel is VERY conveniently located in the heart of downtown Chicago. The rooms were very clean. Be aware you will have to pay to park, they don't inform you of that when you book online. Also there are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms and no continental breakfast and the pool is not heated. All that being said it is still a very good hotel for the price, location, and cleanliness. Just a little more disclosure on the things it does not have and won't provide would have been nice.

Wallace was an absolute God send! This was my first time in Chicago and first time traveling alone. He helped me get everywhere I wanted to go and safely. He was caring and attentive. The hotel was exceptional and rooms absolutely beautiful with a gorgeous view!!! I highly recommend this facility!!!

When I booked a room on line, directly through the hotel, and not a 3rd party website, I requested a high floor with a street view. Two days before arrival, I called hotel front desk and again went over my room request, noting I was staying not one, but two nights at their hotel, and that I booked directly with Best Western (hoping that would make a difference in my room request). It didn't. When I checked in I got neither room request. So, from now on if I stay at a Best Western, I will not hesitate to book thru a 3rd party website because it makes no difference. And I spent a lot of $ staying two nights at this a Best Western.

The staff at Best Western River North can only be described as helpful, friendly and wonderful. They try endlessly to meet all needs of their guests, and even anticipate what might be needed. Thank you Wallace, Michele, Katie, Brandon, the greeter in the reception area, and others whose name I do not remember. Besides being able to walk to the Art Institute, River Walk and down Michigan Avenue, it is the staff who keep us coming back! Thank you everyone!!!

This location in River North is great for tourists who want to experience Chicago at reasonable price- the neighborhood is safe to walk at night and surrounded by lots of restaurants. The river walk is only a few blocks walk. McDonalds, Rainforest Cafe and Portillo's are right across the street for easy landmarks. The hotel is an older building so the hallways are narrow and dated but the room is very clean and has a good shower. 2 only Full size beds but there was a comfortable arm chair to sit in. Traffic, city noise and loud aircondtioner but thats probably anywhere unless very high end. Would stay again for sure.

Comfortable, reasonably priced hotel in River North area. Could easily walk to most tourists sites of our interest, including Navy Pier. Free Looper bus stop only several blocks away. Hop-on-Hop Off tour bus drop off point within a block. Close to transportation to see other areas. Hotel is two separate buildings on one site, having different elevators. Secure entry. On site restaurant left something to be desired. The most unusual McDonald's you'll ever see is right across the street, Portillo's Italian beef sandwiches are a mere block away, Uno's and Due's Pizzerias are a short walk away and our new-found favorite was Fado Irish Pub, right around the corner.from the the Best Western. We had a great stay there!

I enjoyed the stay for a weekend. Very nice room, always clean, restaurant and bar very nice, location in the city center, so you can walk to every downtown tourist attraction. Parking included. And most importantly the staff was always friendly and helpful.

You can walk to great restaurants, the shops on Michigan Avenue and State Street. Only a few blocks North of Chicago's beautiful River Walk. Welcoming and helpful staff. We've stay at this hotel before and will return, hopefully soon!

Our family reunion at the Best Western River North hotel in Chicago was a tremendous success. The room was adequate but the consistently helpful staff members made a huge difference. Christian, William, Jamil and Wallace were always in a good mood, offering recommendations and ready to accommodate our requests. Thank you for being part of our family for the weekend.

This is a nice affordable, hotel in a good central location. Lots of great restaurants around. The only drawback is the street noise - fully tolerable if you are staying on a personal visit, but if you are on business and have conference calls at night the street noise will be heard on your calls. Nothing the hotel can do about that but something to keep in mind.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the location, right downtown. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. We loved the roof top Indoor Pool with outside seating. (floors are slippery as usual) The breakfast was nothing great but not bad. (separate company)

I have stayed at this wonderful hotel quite a few times over the years. It has the nicest staff at the front desk, and Wallace, the Concierge, is the greatest guy ever! Helpful and so cheerful! There is a beautiful indoor pool, with outdoor deck, giving you a fantastic view of the city! Take a beverage up, and sunbathe, then swim! Doesn't get much better! Walking distance to some of the best restaurants in the city, also to the lovely River walk, parks, etc. BW River North is THE only place I stay! Love it!!

First the positives: early check in/late check out granted, very reasonable rate to park your vehicle, ice cream treats available at front desk, very kind staff in the on site restaurant (the 1/2 drink coupons were a nice perk) & the WiFi. Now the negatives: no refrigerator in the room, the air conditioner operated so terribly (extremely loud, erratic, too cold/not cold enough), the bed linens (sheets) were old and felt as though they were washed one too many times, the hallways were so dingy & the carpeting in the room could use a more through vacuum job.

We picked this hotel after reading about the concierge. He's amazing and absolutely made our trip as great as it was! Great location and even better service. I miss checking in with him in the morning!

Exactly what we needed: a safe, quiet, affordable hotel close to our activities. The 'women in business' club from local (to me) community college attended a conference in Chicago last October, and we did all feel comfortable staying here, both physically and psychologically. (We took the train in, so I can't address the parking.)

So glad we read the reviews and picked this place. Check in was easy and super friendly. The lobby has coffee, tea and hot chocolate whenever you would like it. The desk staff also offered complimentary push pops and ice cream sandwiches! A great way to end a hot Chicago day. $25 hotel parking was convenient and a great price. We paid a little extra and got the suite which was spacious. The AC was a little loud but outside everything was great. Our room on the 4th floor didn't seem to have a lot of street noise but maybe the AC masked it. The location was perfect and near the theater district and great eateries such as Pizzaria Uno, Rainforest Cafe, Hard Rock, The SAFEHOUSE and more!

We visit Chicago every year for a guys weekend. We moved to the BW 2 years ago and do not regret it. Nice on site restaurant for breakfast or pizza. Roof top pool and patio area that over looks this area of the city. Perfect way to relax from the hustle and bustle.

Stayed here for a Chicago Cubs game. Was super impressed with this hotel for the price. Would highly recommend. Great location, and close to the red line. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Rooms were also very clean.

Great hotel, the location is great, close to a lot of attractions. Only a few blocks from the "L" which made travelling to Wrigley Field easy. Hotel was clean and updated. Parking was easy and secure. We have stayed at this location a few times and will defiantly book it again when we go back.

We had 2 rooms on the same floor. 1 was a king and the 2nd was 2 dbl. They was both great rooms. The pool was awesome and sky deck was also. The 3rd shift front desk lady was awesome. Everyone was actually. Will come back and stay. Great location to walk every where. We took a couple of ubers because my daughter was in a walking boot.

Stayed here while in town for a Cubs game. Location is great, very close to the Red line which takes you right to Wrigleyville. We stayed in a King room which was the smallest hotel room I've ever been in, including NYC. The street noise was terrible, hallway noise was terrible, we could hardly run the air conditioner while sleeping because it was so loud, and we could hear any time a neighboring room turned on the water. The room didn't have a fridge or microwave. There is on-site parking, both a surface lot and underground. Underground clearance is so low that we scraped the top of our Jeep on the pipes. Major bummer at this hotel as it is in a great location. Also, the Cubs lost.

Great place to stay on a trip to Chicago. Staff was just wonderful and quite knowledgeable. Near lots of places of interest, including the Navy Pier and Soldiers Field Stadium. The rooms are very nice and clean and maid service was great. The on site restaurant was really good. They cook each order fresh so there is a wait on your meal, but it was worth it. We would stay here again.

Was half the price of many Chicago hotels that were within walking distance of this Best Western. Updated and clean rooms, great location and great price! Would definitely stay here again if in Chicago.
