Best Western Plus Hotel Perla del Porto

A delightful and efficient hotel very close to the port, the most impressive hotel I have visited of this particular chain, efficient friendly , superb room and good breakfast. The gym is a little small and unequipped, but that is a small detail.

The hotel is located on the one hand of the Catanzaro 2-km sea-promenade, in front of the harbor. We booked a junior suite, from which you can enjoy the view of the sea and the Squillace gulf . The room can be booked on-line but I did it on the phone and the process was very smooth. The hotel meets all international standards and all the staff is very polite and helpful. On the arrival, check-in was quick and the front-desk personnel always available for any trouble/questions. Both clerks (Giuseppe and Fabio, if I remember correctly) speak fluent English, so non-Italian guests should not worry about this point. They were also very helpful after check-out. After getting home, I realized that I forgot in the room my phone battery charger. I found it at the front desk the day after. Breakfast is also very nice, with a choice of salty/sweet food. Salty food: they have scrambled eggs and wieners, but I would recommend the Calabrese selection of cheeses and sausages ('nduja included). Great selection of cakes, croissants, yoghurt, jam,nutella and juices. Good bread too. A big thank you to the ladies in charge of the breakfast room who retrieved my wife's glasses too. I will recommend this hotel to anybody and I will visit it again in the future.

Staff were friendly and trying to help but apart from this we had very bad experience. We were given the wrong room, no balcony despite requesting this in advance. Very poor communication during booking and check in. Nothing was explained. We booked for couple but the room was equipped for single occupancy! The breakfast and the food is average at best. Even the check out was problematic! It took 1 week afterwards to sort out invoices and payments etc. Not recommended.

Small but comfortable room, nice bed, room with balcony and sea view. Good bathroom but shower only no bath. Breakfast was somewhat spoilt by a few small points like keeping the bacon and egg in the same warmer and putting cold meat above cheeses on the display A few small changes may really help make it a much better breakfast experience for every dietary need. Gym basic but has a multi machine which does the job two treadmills and a bike but you'd be better off running along the sea front early morning or late evening. Most staff generally very nice, polite and willing to help, one of the (female) receptionist seem perpetually annoyed. Spa very good.

Beautiful hotel, marble tiles throughout and quality, comfortable rooms. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us enjoy our (too brief) stay. The hotel was very busy and it was near the end of the summer holiday season, however staff made time for our needs and the service was superb. Breakfast was amazing and the views of the marina were stunning. We will stay there again whenever possible!

Very nice hotel, staff are very helpful and friendly, parking on site, wifi, Sky tv. Our room was very nice and so too was the bathroom with hairdryer. Breakfast is good and staff nice too. The hotel is tastefully decorated with tasteful accessories throughout the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Catanzara.

We went there for my girlfriend's birthday with no reservation. The place was very elegant, staff extremely friendly. By advices of our waiter we've got a special starter of fresh fish which made us full and satisfied, delicious decoration and unforgettable taste. My second course, filetto di maialino, closed my lunch in an amazing way. I strongly recommend this place if you really want to have a special moment with high food quality.

Ahhh service and assurance was a 10+. Excellent services at the spa. Friendly, personal, helped us with the television and services. Their restaurant is excellent and a beautiful hotel. It is a small quaint university town with a gem in the middle. The Best Western

EXcellent service. From the manager at the front desk to all the wait staff at dinner, patio bar, & breakfast. Attentive & professional. Sorry but we lost everyone's names. The manager also facilitated a driver, F. Scervino, who drove us to Santa Caterina del Ionio where my paternal grandparents emigrated from in 1926. We especially enjoyed the convenient location (i.e. hotel beach, the oceanfront promenade, restaurants, cafes, gelato bars, and shopping. All the ammenties were luxurious. Individual patios with an ocean view are a plus. This hotel was booked by our travel agent, Paula Carlino, of Celtic Tours, Albany, NY, USA. We were guest 05/08-08/08/16. We will recommend this hotel to fellow travelers and would reserve here again if travelling to Catanzaro Lido. Thank you for making our stay relaxing & pleasureable. All is good as per as rooms and inside the hotel. However we had the bad surprise to be charged extra for the breakfast. When we arrived the told us the time fro the breakfast without telling us we will be charged extra for it. Then we had the surprise only at the check out and they had the courage to tell me that I had to check myself on booking ! NO you have to do your job and informing the client properly before your bill them.

Note that this is a Best Western Plus and is also independently managed. The location is right on the seafront, the staff were very efficient, the room service I had is quite simply the best seafood I've ever had in a hotel, the room was beautifully decorated in subtle hues, the rain shower would easily fit 6 people inside! I'd highly recommend.

Rooms were fantastic!! air con was brilliant, super clean room, huge balcony, definitely value for money, restaurant service top quality food and the staff were extremely helpful. My opinion of best western has gone up and i wouldn't hesitate booking again

The hotel looks like new and the premisses are very good. The sea view rooms are fantastic and the cleaning perfect. Top of the hotel is the staff. Everybody so kind and gentle, special note to Marco, the bar/restaurant commander, that treated us like Royals.

I stayed here while on a business trip to Catanzaro and really enjoyed the much needed peace and quiet the hotel provided. Although it was a drive to the city of Catanzaro, I appreciated the large room, and ample size desk to work on. Very much unlike the noisy, cramped and expensive room I changed from in Catanzaro. Glad I stayed here and will be back next time.

I had a business meeting in Catanzaro this week and I wanted a good place to relax after a busy day.I usually book Best Western hotels around the world and this is without any doubt one of the BEST! The room was absolutely wonderful. Very clean, modern, huge bed and comfortable pillows! far beyond expectation ! The staff is very helpful and polite. I was so tired after the day that I have decided to have dinner in my room and I had a perfect room service!!! the food was excellent too! I was truly surprised and amazed by the service and food quality! Congratulations to the manager and hotel staff!!

Very nice and modern, smiling staff, well located (but road work just in front of hotel), good restaurant at the hotel and close by. Very well equipped room, good breakfast with lots of different things, sausages, fruits, juice, pastries...

Best Western La Perla del Porto In Catanzaro Lido. This is a fairly new hotel located right on the waterfront. IN October 2015 there was construction going on outside the hotel but when completed it should be nice. By North Amercan standards the rooms are small, but sufficient. The bed is comfortable and contains a special reading light. Good wifi and shower. breakfast has lots of options. Some rooms have views of the gulf while others look out onto other apartments! Each room also has a balcony. The beach is across the road and the baordwalk is also just outside the door. Our cost was 111Euros which we thought on the high side.

I guess we were expecting a US version of Best Western, your "run of the mill, cookie cut" hotel. Boy, were we wrong. From the outside, nothing extrodinary, but inside was quite elligant. Nice bar, restaurant, breakfast area and they even had a salon. Everything is state-of-the-art; meaning keyless entries, auto lights. Rooms were very comfortable as well. Situated right on the ocean and a short walk to restaurant areas and beach. However, construction is underway and it looks like something is being build between the hotel and the ocean so that they may lose their views! Not sure, I would check back with the hotel themselves on that status.

The hotel was perfect, staff was adorable nice and friendly to us, food was just delicious, one day i'll go back in this hotel with my family, i want to say lots of thanks to all staff of this hotel especially Mr. Attore from the restaurant who made our trip Unforgettable... so I recommend this hotel to everyone.

Unfortunately, we arrived too early for their summer season and were not offered the two long chairs and an umbrella to go on the beach.... Their season starts on 15 June, so I was told. Another disappointing thing was the construction project in front of the hotel, where they are building the entire brand new port. Imagine the dust and the noise. The project would last for another two years minimum. But, we walked 15 min away from the hotel, about 600 meters, and could enjoy lovely clean pebble beaches. The restaurant inside the hotel must be awesome, yet again it was unfortunate for us that we could never get the timing right. It opens only at 7:45PM for dinners, apparently. But I have tried their breakfast, which was included in my rate, £25 pp pn, and other was fantastic. Our room was 303, very spacious, clean every day seamlessly, beds and towels changed every day, TV with all languages imaginable, but the view from the balcony was laterally spoilt by the building site, so, all in all it was a good value for money, but not exactly the holiday on the beach I intended to have. There are no restaurants in the walking distance, just some grotty pub equivalents where you wouldn't dare to walk in if you were with a child, like I was. So, unless you drive a car around, you would be pretty much isolated in your room, which was exceptional I must admit.

This is a modern hotel and the room that we had was medium size though there was a blcony more than twice the size of the room. The hotel is easily found as it is on the beach road in Catanzaro Lido, though the parking lot is hidden. The staff was very helpful quickly fixing a couple of minor glitches. There is a very good restaurant attached and a substantial breakfast is provided in a separate room. However we could ot discover an entrance to the breakfast room that was no up staris. Also half the bedrooms are up a few stairs which could be a problem for a person with disabilities.

Very nice hotel and in a great location over looking the sea and harbour. This is one of the best Best Western Hotels I have stayed at in all aspects of service. Very relaxing stay....It's a must when you have a tiring business trip :)
