Best Western Carmel's Town House Lodge

Convenient to downtown. There was construction going on earlier than the owner anticipated, so Sanjay put us is a much larger, nicer room. Price was excellent. Can't say enough about the friendly owner and staff. Very accommodating.

Very good location in the middle of the town but still not noisy. Rood was good and clean. Personnel were nice and friendly. The breakfast selection is limited and the area very small - only a couple of tables.

Was not allowed to cancel or alter my reservation a mere 8 hours after booking it. Even though it involved a hospitalization. Regardless, was able to make it to the hotel. The Handicap Accessible room that was booked was not available. They claimed we didn't book the accessible room even though our reservation clearly shows we did. A manager is conveniently never on duty. We expected the poor condition of the hotel from previous reviews but would've expected better customer service. We won't be back.

I originally stayed at this location a year ago the night before my wedding. The staff took such great care of me that I brought my wife back for our 1st anniversary. They were delighted to welcome us back and took care of us just as well as the first experience. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and informative. Any requests were well received and fulfilled quickly. We will be back in the future.

Lovely little stay. The kind lady at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating and managed to find us a room which would work. Room was clean and breakfast had what we needed! Thank you.

Excellent location, short walk to shops and restaurants and is walking distance to the beach. Sanjay is very friendly and offers great service. Our room was beautifully renovated and was comfortable for our family.

Hotel is well located in Carmel and the property and guestrooms are well maintained. Overall I would stay again but only as a couple or solo. This hotel is not suited for more than two in a room. For example, in spite of being charged extra for a 3rd person, the room only had towels for 2. Our request for more towels was declined so someone had to dry off with the hand towel for 2 days until housekeeping came. My elite status with Best Western was not recognized. When I mentioned it, the manager said this hotel is not like others who recognize brand loyalty and muttered something under her breath. It's Carmel and rates and high so I guess they don't have to provide great service. It's a good budget option but please know the service will match and be of low quality and not what you might expect from other BWH properties.

Within walking distance to hundreds of shops and restaurants. Safe and ample parking on premises. Extremely friendly owners, always available. Breakfast provided. Property is very clean. Noise level extremely low. Other travelers were also very friendly and enjoyable to converse with.

We stayed at the Best Western Carmel's Town House Lodge for three nights in February 2023 as a family of two adults and a child. We chose this hotel primarily due to its combination of economy and location. Of course, the Best Western branding does afford some peace of mind. Location wise, this is one of those cases where the distances in real life feel closer than they look on a map. The walk from the hotel to the main street (Ocean Avenue), is very pleasant and peaceful and as a result, you're there before you know it. We were greeted in the lobby by very friendly staff (it appears to be family owned/operated) and check in was very quick and efficient. With child in tow and all the gear that accompanies, I requested a ground level room. However, the room we got did leave a few things to be desired. For one, it is a very small room that did not have a closet or literally, anywhere that you can hang clothes. The bathroom was also shower only (no tub). On the plus side, the bathroom did look recently remodeled. The room entrance is also under the stairs and directly (literally right outside our door) from the vending machines and ice/water dispenser. However, this might work for you if you want to be close to these amenities. It appeared the hotel was undergoing room renovations as there was construction going on in other rooms. Breakfast was included and is served in a small room on the corner of the property. There is a terrace on the second level that you can take your breakfast to as well. Pros and cons taken together along with being in a pricey area like Carmel, I felt the hotel was fairly priced and a good deal for being able to walk to just about anywhere in the area. Some things to note: - Parking is included but the some spaces are tight. If you are arriving in an RV or camper van, you will need to park on the street. - The water dispenser next to the vending machines also dispense hot water, which is something I've not seen in other hotels. Water temperature is hot enough for making instant noodles. - Included breakfast has decent options including a waffle maker. In addition, there is additional seating upstairs in the terrace. - Hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood and very easy walk to Ocean Avenue - If you're a light sleeper ask for a room on the second level. We were downstairs and could hear a lot of footsteps from above. - Our mini fridge had a freezer compartment, which is a plus if you are traveling with a cooler and ice packs. - There is a swimming pool (which we did not use) located on a lower level of the property. Most of the hotels in this part of Carmel tend to be older or historic properties. As a result, you'll be paying a premium for this old world "charm." If this is not something you feel is necessary or is worth the premium, then go with the economy and practicality of Best Western Carmel.

We reached a bit late but Sanjay was gracious enough to show us our room and the amenities. He was also very knowledgeable and helped us enjoy Carmel and nearby places a lot better. We had forgotten to call ahead and got the upper floor room - we had lots of luggage and would have preferred to be on the ground floor - but it wasn't too bad because there was just 1 flight of stairs. The room was very good. The breakfast room was small and cosy. There is space upstairs in the sun to enjoy breakfast but we didn't use it. The place is located very well to go to the beach and look around the town or drive to nearby places.

Family vacation for 5 days. We arrived early for check in we were offered coffee while they finished preparing room. Front desk personnel were great! Extremely friendly and courteous. We felt welcomed here! Great place.

The rooms are nicely remodeled, the breakfast was nice (with several options that are mone than just continental) and they have a beautiful outdoor loft area to sit and enjoy the scenery and the weather. Close (walking distance) to restaurants too.

Our room included a separate bedroom with two twin beds and a second bathroom, which was perfect for our boys. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and check-in was smooth. The room was quiet. Unfortunately, breakfast was disappointing. For example, there was only an instant coffee machine rather than a freshly brewed pot.

Such a beautiful town and great hotel. Have stayed many times. Just unacceptable they refuse daily towel and basic cleaning service due to Covid. COVID has passed. Policies aren't disclosed in advance so the purpose of my review is to bring awareness. I certainly won't return until the policy has changed.

We stayed for 3 nights in October 2022 to celebrate our anniversary. The motel is in a great location. We parked the car when we arrived and didn't drive again until we left. The king room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The room is a bit dated but the owner said they were starting a remodel in November so that's great. The owners were delightful and very accommodating. Breakfast was modest but adequate. The motel is nothing fancy, but very clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay again!

Charging $200 a night for a $59.99 a night room....floors were dirty, beds are old and uncomfortable, could hear everything the rooms above and beside were saying and doing, don't recommend unless it's your only option

We were vacationing in the Eastern Sierra and were woefully disappointed with our lodging. We call BW early in the morning and they were so pleasant and helpful. We were able to get a room for the same day and for multiple nights. We always stay at BW Carmel Townhouse Lodge when we go to Carmel. They did not disappoint and helped to salvage our vacation.

The room was clean and comfortable. The sun porch on the second floor is lovely, wish I had found it earlier, I would have had breakfast up there. The location is really nice, lots of shops and restaurants, close to a nice beach.

Ok, Carmel by the Sea is an expensive place to stay. It's a neat little town with lots of boutique stores and neat downtown activities. It is super close to the Pacific Grove Gate entrance to 17 mile tour. The hotel room was pretty clean and had a fresh smell when entering. Upon closer looking there were some little nit picky items that could be easily fixed up. The room is extremely dark! There needs to be more light! Please put a light in the corner by the TV and change the damned light bulbs to LED 100w equiv bulbs. This would make a huge difference. The washroom was very dated and had broken tiles near the tub. The tiles along the wall were clearly very dirty and uncleaned. The toilet was offset which was strange to sit on because you are angled toward the wall??? The shower leaks onto the floor when showering which is the likely cause of broken tiles. The parking is free which is part of the saving grace but there are no elevators and if you get "lucky" like us you are shoved back into the rooms above the garage which was supposed to be nicer. The hair dryer didn't work. Only blows cold air which pissed off the wife. I'm sure if we had been staying there for more than 1 night, that would be rectified. The biggest issue for me was NO AC in room!!! This is the first hotel that I've ever stayed in that doesn't have in room AC. When I couldn't find it, I asked at the front desk. We were told that only 1 hotel in the town had AC and it was priced very high. In fact we found 6 hotels in the area that have in room AC and not much higher price than this one. That being said... There are floor fans in the rooms and the temperature by the sea is very cool at night. We opened the window and turned on the fan and were actually quite comfortable while sleeping and I'm a die hard 65 deg sleeping person. The main room is very clean and obviously updated. The bed is super comfy and the pillows are great. The room really needs a microwave! There is a nice sized fridge but no microwave. I would likely try a different hotel the next time if I could find something for similar money simply because of the stairs and being shoved into the back rooms which I suspect are overflow for over booking. The TV in room is bad. Mostly because they use these crappy universal remote that makes it impossible to view the guide to select channels. Listen if you have to put 2 remotes in the room to be able to take full advantage of whatever box you are controlling, then do it! I'd rather have instructions to run remotes than to have a crappy simple remote that doesn't give you full options! The breakfast was as expected for continental breakfast. Eggs were hot and good but bacon was undercooked but seems to be the norm in the US. I prefer crispy bacon and if there was a microwave in the room, I would have thrown it in there to crisp it up. Minor complaint

If you are want to visit the downtown Carmel area and plan to park your car and walk everywhere, you are in luck with this hotel. We booked a king room for a two night stay and did plenty of research so we knew both the negatives and the positives. We had a very nice quiet room with covered parking, so helpful. It seemed to be unseasonably warm in the afternoon hours, especially in the sun with the high humidity, so the lack of A/C in the room was felt, but opening the windows and using the old fan did help. Maybe they could consider a ceiling fan in the future. We left the door open several times to get extra ventilation in the room, but we found that the bugs wanted to enter the room as well. As previously mentioned, there is no elevator, just stairs. If you have mobility issues, be aware of this. The lady that checked us in was very kind, welcoming and friendly. Appreciated her helpfulness. Just a quick reminder that everything in the downtown Carmel area is "smallish," meaning that shops, restaurants and sometimes local inns and hotels, are not big on space. If you feel the need to spread out, this is not the place for you, but it is in a great location and reasonably priced for an expensive area.

This is a 3 star inn with a 5 star price just because of location. Small rooms and bath, but they were clean. Towels in a cubby hole not near shower. No air conditioning. Person who checked us in was nice though. Breakfast was hot and cold items which was nice but breakfast area so small only 4 tables to sit. Parking lot was a nightmare because of the size of it but could have parked on street if you you could find a spot.

Very disappointed. I don't typically leave bad reviews. I usually leave reviews for excellent service or products only, but something needs to be said this time. The room did not meet the standard of cleanliness that Best Western prides themselves on. There was no air conditioning and it was extremely hot at night. There was only a very dusty/dirty oscillating fan. The floor was gritty/dirty. The room just didn't seem to be as clean as it should have been especially during a pandemic. The breakfast area was a mess with the kitchen staff (who weren't friendly) conversating with each other on the side and not attending to the obvious mess on the counters for the entire time we were in there. I have enjoyed staying here in the past, but this last time will truly be our last time. The woman who checked us in was great. She was very friendly and kind. The TV worked well, the water in the shower was nice and hot, and the refrigerator worked.

While there may be more plush properties in Carmel, the location of the Best Western is great, the prices are reasonable, and the innkeepers (Sanjay and his wife) are wonderfully friendly, funny, and helpful. We also found this to be one of the few properties in town that had a sleeper sofa so that we could fit 3 people comfortably in the room. We would definitely stay here again on a return visit.

the location is absolutely fabulous...walk to all the shops and restaurants and beach. Free parking, free breakfast. the room we had looked renovated and quite nice but no place to put luggage and no closet. Not a big deal for us since 2 queen beds so we just put luggage on one bed. also had a desk and a refrigerator. Highly recommend! Great value. no elevator for 2nd floor rooms (I think)

breakfast food choice is very limited and on paper plates and plastic utensils which s good because its terrible . Rooms are dirty . Walls paper thin . The staff is rude and condescending . Only thing semi good about this dump is the location but that doesnt make up for the rest

Pros: 1. Sanjay and Maggie who are the owners are extremely pleasant and very helpful. They do care about customers. Gave us lots of inputs on restaurants that we could go to especially when we are vegetarians. 2. Booked this room through AAA website and even though the reservation for King room through AAA allowed the booking when we picked 2 adults and 1 child (less than 12 yrs) apparently the king room was only for two people. Some issue/glitch between AAA and Best western booking system. Even with that the owners were OK so that we don't have to look for another property for the stay. 3. If you get a room on the other side of the pool, there is a separate 3 space parking that is exclusive to those rooms. downside is that space is pretty tight and if someone does not park correctly then it will be a pain to pull out your vehicle. Happened to us on 2 days. 4. Carmel beach is a 10 min walk (Be ready to climb back up when head to the hotel). You might want to take your car and park at the beach entrance (no fees). But limited spots and you should get a spot if go around 2 or 3pm in 5-10 mins. 5. Free parking and good for atleast 10 cars in the front and 3 cars in the back. Most of the inns have parking by the street which is not easy to get. 6. There is no A/C in the room and neither a microwave. But there is a fan in the closet in the room that you can use. It does get warm in the night. There is a microwave in the breakfast area that you can use. Only con was that breakfast could have been better. They had cereal on Tuesday and that helps when you have children. On Wednesday, there was no cereal or milk which is a bummer when you have kids for breakfast. Other items include , scrambled eggs and bacon? (i think) along with small muffins, fruits, Waffle (self made), Coffee, orange juice. If you are a vegetarian, then restaurants to try would be 1. Demetra Cafe ( fine dining) - Expensive but very very good. Make a reservation. 2. Carmel's Bistro Giovanni (fine dining)- Expensive. It was OK. Make a reservation. 3. Recommendation from Sanjay that we did not try: Places at Del monte shopping center where prices are reasonable. If you have kids, then going to the beach is a no brainer. Very close but cold though. Younger ones <8 yrs old might not like the walk back to the hotel as its not flat. Will definitely come back to this hotel. My only recommendation would be to keep cereal everyday and some of the customers were looking for cereal on both days (Tues and Wed)

This hotel is located in a perfect location--about two blocks away from downtown. It is also close enough to every place you might want to walk to downtown. So you are away from the noise, but not too far away to walk to wherever you want to go in the downtown area. The rooms are nice and modernized. The heat works great. There is no air conditioner in the room, but that is because Carmel is pretty chilly year round. The owner / operators are fantastic. I needed to set the Close Captioning on our TV since my wife has a severe hearing loss. When the room remote seemed unable to set CC--he made three trips to the room with different remotes until we found one that could turn on the CC. I really appreciated that effort. I will stay here every time I come back to Carmel.

This was a last minute booking when another hotel in town double booked and couldn't offer us a room. Reception were so helpful and made us feel better! Room was basic but clean, shower nice and powerful, bed was comfy. We missed a safe as we like using one when away. Breakfast offering was pretty poor, no cereal, no toaster, no normal milk for the tea or the porridge sachets. Just apples and bananas, muffins, yogurt, sausage/egg biscuit to microwave and waffles. Seating for 6 in the room or you can sit upstairs on a nice deck area but the chair covers are very grubby and damp in the mornings. Parking not too tricky, seemed enough spaces. Overall we were happy with our stay and would use again

This was a lovely hotel in the perfect location, walking distance to great cafes, shops and the beach. Our family stayed in a suite which was very spacious for our pack and play and all of our things. The breakfast was great- and included grab and go options. The price was very reasonable and the room was clean (this is incredibly important to me) It was quiet and comfortable and we would definitely stay again! But in addition to this- one of the best elements of our stay were the owners: Marie and Sanjay. They were exceptionally warm and welcoming, so kind to our kids and really made us feel at home. After feeling exhausted after a long road trip this really made all the difference to us. Also Carmel itself is so lovely. It was our first visit and the town is beautiful, and beach is STUNNING. So fun for our family. Highly recommend staying here!

We have been coming to Carmel for many years, at least 1-2 times per year and always stay at this hotel. We loved the location and really enjoyed the service and the front desk personnel. It was also reasonably priced compare to other hotels near by. This time was definitely our last. We were put next to the room where renovations were taking place. The noise was unbearable. You can't rest, nap or even hear each other talk. When we checked in, we were told that the work will stop in 15 minutes. It was going on for hours and came right back the next morning. (I spoke to the manager the 1st day and my husband did the next day - not even a "sorry" or offering to switch rooms.) Our room was filthy. Layers of dirt and dust. At check in, the manager kept bragging about how the room was just renovated...who cares about the new floor if it is so dirty that I dont even want to roll my suitcase on it? The room did not have a closet. (No wardrobe, no nook, not a single hanger and not even a hook). I guess when renovating this room they decided that it would be an unnecessary expense. I have never been in a room where I couldn't hang a single piece of clothing. Internet was nonexistent. TV wasn't set up correctly (good thing im electronically savvy), the water wasn't hot, beds and pillows were so bad i wanted to sleep in the car.....but these were minor things compare to the noise and dirt. The entire stay left a very bad after taste and we will definitely stay elsewhere next time at any cost. A tip--when trying to push "the best" restaurants at guests during check in, first ask if they want a recommendation. It felt like a time share presentation, that would never stop (even after a polite request)

While the staff we interacted with was friendly, the room was a disappointment. Stained carpets, hair in the bathtub/shower, heating difficult to regulate, bad lighting in room, and the entire place just needs some TLC.

Our stay at The Best Western in Carmel was simply wonderful. Sanjay is the epitome of what an owner/proprietor should be. He is welcoming, friendly, attentive, and gracious. He doesn't just take your money, he offers you SERVICE. He is very knowledgeable of the best places to dine and even the best way to charge your EV. The property itself is located within walking distance of everything important in Carmel for those visiting. Food, wine, shopping and the beach are a few blocks away. The rooms are nice and CLEAN. They are not super fancy( Who cares? Carmel is about experiencing the CITY), but they are not run down either. Its simply a nice room at a fair price. The breakfast is more than enough for a quick bite. There is ample parking and the property is quiet. When we return, which will be SOON, we will be staying at THIS PROPERTY. It will be our “second home”.

I stayed there from 29th to 31st 2022 with my 85 year old mother who needs naps during the day time.  There was LOUD construction going on right above our room and next to it as well.  ALL DAY!! It was "impossible" to nap or EVEN relax.  We were there for her 85th birthday. I was really disappointed that when I BOOKED the room I was NOT informed of such construction going on.  I would have booked somewhere else had I known.  I feel I should get a full or partial refund for the disturbance of which we were not informed about ahead of time. NOT even when I checked in.  It was NOT a relaxing or enjoyable stay. The place smelled like overwhelming cleaning solutions. My mom had to leave the room till I could air it out and sprayed some lavender scented spray in the room. The free standing Fans did not work. They couldn't go past low and one couldn't even stand up right. I stay in Carmel area at least once a month. So it's very disappointing this was allowed at all. VERY DISSATISFIED!! I give it a Negative 1. DONT STAY AT best Western in Carmel by the Sea.

Location great! Front desk staff member not helpful. Bathroom door creaked. Room had thin walls. Had trouble getting a pack and play. Eventually the hhousekeeping had it after the front desk telling me they did not have it.

Truly valued our get-a-way weekend at Carmel's Townhouse Lodge. With a desirable location, newly remodeled rooms and a fabulous host (Mr. Sanjay), our stay once again at this Lodge exceeded our expectations. Spent a few nights from the 28th December at this lovely location. Room 123 amazing, manager could not do enough for me and being a lone female traveler I felt so safe. I was recommended to eat at Carmel's bistro Giovanni and it's a 2 minute walk away from the Town House. The food there was amazing and the staff so helpful and welcoming. A must do if visiting Carmel by the Sea. Thank you for the great service I received at both locations and I am sure to return. Monika

The manager was very professional and charming. The housekeeping was efficient. The room was clean, modern and had all the accessories that we wanted. The location is excellent-downtown. Great restaurants and galleries, bookstore, services, church were all within 5 short blocks. It was quiet at night. This is the best Best Western we have stayed at (out of 6) in the past few weeks.

it is truly a one star hotel. The room was over priced and there was no breakfast in the morning I paid $415.00 to stay one night on a Friday, When I got to my room the heater was running and cracked up to 90 degreesAnd there was no AC to cool down the room.Do not stay at this hotel not up to best western standards!!!!!!! In the morning wen I went to check out I complained about the heater being cracked up and the lady at the front desk blamed it on the person that stayed in the room last

We were in town for a wedding and ended up at this family friendly option. The best western is just a hotel, but the staff made us feel like family. They were friendly and so helpful. They even helped me pin up my dress for the wedding! When I misplaced my key they let us in the room after the wedding even though it was late!

We stayed at the Best Western on the advice of friends who had stayed here several years ago. PROS: the location is excellent. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. CONS: The hotel is sorely in need of a remodel. Our room was dark and the furniture was old and worn. The bathroom was clean but tired. The iron in our room didn't work so we had to go down to the office to get a loaner. The grab and go breakfast was mediocre - pretty lousy coffee and juice with some microwaveable burritos and yogurt. Best options were apples and granola bars. In the owner's defense, I can imagine that running a motel during COVID has been difficult and they are working on a remodel. Unfortunately as a result, there is construction debris visible outside certain rooms and the second floor deck looks somewhat abandoned. Hopefully the hotel will be restored to its former good condition soon.

This property has not been well maintained. The furniture is old and damaged. The bathroom tile is dingy and some has been ineptly replaced. The towels are small and rough. The complimentary soap, shampoo and conditioner are the smallest I have ever seen. The bathroom heater did not work. The “included breakfast” is now grab-and-go poor quality options like muffins in cellophane bags, turkey sausage burritos, small cups of yoghurt. There was no vegetarian protein option. The second floor terrace, suggested for eating breakfast included a partially covered pile of old mattresses and toilets. The only available microwave was in the breakfast room, locked each day after 10:00 a.m. The pool was not open, possibly not operational. It was very surprising to find no elevator in a two-story hotel and apparently only one ice machine, inconveniently located on the ground floor. Senior citizens beware; the stairs are steep and there is no one to help with heavy luggage. Our trip was disturbed by SW airlines cancelled flights, causing us to delay our arrival by two days. We were charged not only a full day's fee for cancellation, but the 3 nights' stay total price went up over 40%! There was daily construction noise as the hotel is being slowly renovated, room-by-room on both floors. My friend and I have both protested to corporate Best Western seeking a substantial refund with no reply. The only bright spot in our stay was Marie, at the front desk. She was very helpful.

My last few days of vacation for the year and I chose to head to Carmel. I chose to stay at the Best Western in Carmel. I have stayed here before and the rooms are nice. The price is usually reasonable. I decided to upgrade to a King Suite because I wanted to treat myself. I arrived just around 2pm and my room was ready. I was told it was downstairs. Unfortunately, it was next to the cleaning/maintenance room. The overall room was okay. The furniture is warn and dated but the space was nice. It was also located next to the pool and walkway in and out of the hotel for the staff. It was quite noisy and disruptive. The noise from the upper floor was quite loud and distracting also. The bathroom and bedroom were adequate and I sleep well. I did however find the couch in the other room uncomfortable. If I had to do it again, I would have just picked the standard room. The property was clean, and the room was clean, had adequate towels and toiletries. The breakfast was lacking but mostly due to the Covid protocols. I will probably choose a different property next time I vacation in Carmel.

I stayed the weekend and it was wonderful. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the hotel is central to so many walkable restaurants and shop. But what really sets it apart is the sun deck on the second floor - a cozy patio area with a view. It was so much more charming than most large hotel chains I've stayed at. Definitely coming back.

Great location, easy walk to restaurants and Sunset Center. Staff is excellent. Rooms clean , some with partial ocean views. Will definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Great deal for downtown Carmel

Overall, not a bad hotel. Very conveniently located, close to everything. Very friendly staff. Rooms are remodeled and decorated. Although the dressers drawers would not stay shut. Don't know what that is about. If you are a 4-star hotel person, this is not the place for you, but if your are in a bind to find a room in busy Carmel, it's ok.

On its own Carmel is a wonderful place to stay BUT!!! The female (so sorry I forget her name) franchisee is a gem. She should work for the chamber of commerce as her LOVE for this city is palpable. During my brief stay there she guided me with tips of what to see and where to eat. My stay was made so much better as a result of her sharing not only what she loved about Carmel but how I would get to see the best in my short stay there. Her restaurant recommendation Demetra was FANTASTIC. And upon returning home I learned that Demetra is considered one of the 100 BEST restaurants in the USA!!! TY TY for making my trip to Carmel memorable

Clean, nice hotel located very close to everything you want to walk to in downtown. Front desk service was super with friendly and helpful staff. Nice outdoor deck on second floor to relax outside. Room size nothing great, but was clean and comfortable.

Customer service and location was excellent with fast checkin. We also had parking, very important in Carmel-by-the-sea. We were able to walk to town and beach, but drove to beach. When we checked in we were given an easy to use street map and they explained the area very well, we used the map the entire time, and explored. Btw, the beds are very comfortable. Location, customer service, very clean room with comfy bed. We will be back!!

We like staying at Best Western when we travel , but this hotel was so bad We had made reservations through their website , a suite , which was in the basement next to the janitors room When we entered then room we noticed some garbage on the floor , our tv in the living room Didn't work ( no tv in the bedroom) we called the desk and they send someone to Fix it When we went to bed in the evening we noticed some lipstick on the bed linen, and only shampoo and 1 bar soap in the bathroom , of course you can get clean with that , but it's not up To Best Western hotels standards So next time in Carmel we stay somewhere else , where they clean the rooms

Carpets had spill stains and some walls were dirty from spilled drinks that were never wiped down. Bathroom fixtures needed upgrades or at least come TLC. It's in a great location and customer service was great but because of my other concerns, I will not be returning with my family.

Have stayed at other Best Western hotels and have been very satisfied. Unfortunately, this was not the case with this particular hotel. Room was not well lit. Bathroom shower head had holes in wall. No fan in bathroom. Meager breakfast options. Many people walked into breakfast room and out again and went out to breakfast, as did we. Very expensive for what you get.

This hotel is in desperate need of remodeling and updating! Our room was like a dungeon. Awkward furniture and arrangement. Everything old. Odd very little pool in a walkway. Location was good and had parking but those were only positives. Really over-priced.

We spent two nights at this Best Western in mid June. Check in was quick and friendly. Parking can be a bit tight. Location is excellent, being walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach. We've stayed at a lot of BW over the years. This was our least favorite. Our double queen room was very tightly packed. The carpets old and messy. Honestly, the place is in desperate need of a full redo. We had a ground floor unit. The walls and ceilings are pretty thin. Above us, guests speaking in normal voices could be heard and understood. Every step on their floor boomed down to us. One night, the couple was having an animated conversation....at 4:00 a.m.! I called the front desk, asking if management could at least help to tamp this down. I was told I should go upstairs and ask them nicely myself. Uh, no. I'm not going to risk a possible confrontation. Isn't that the job of the hotel to deal with this kind of issue? That really put us off. Had more of the same the next evening, but it quieted down after 11 p.m. As a patron, I expect a bit of customer service. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

We stayed here one night. It was a bit noisy as we were on the corner & the traffic made some noise. It was extremely convenient though to be able to stroll through the town. Not too many parking spots so we didn't want to try to drive somewhere--so walked so location perfect for that.

The property was two blocks from Ocean Ave (Main Street through Carmel). The hotel is old. Thankfully, there was an A/C fan in the closet as the room was warm when we arrived. I opened the windows and turned on the fan to cool down the room. The bagged breakfast was provided at check-in. It had an apple, granola bar, OJ, and muffin. We went to the Carmel Bakery on Ocean Ave for breakfast. They have pretzels, awesome baked goods; breakfast burritos and coffee. Requested and was given map of area and suggestions on where to eat for dinner. Dinner was close by and very good. The bed was fine. Our room had parking spaces under the room and we were next to the pool which was closed still due to COVID.

Had a great 2 day stay in this lovely hotel. Everything was absolutely perfect! Quick check-in with super friendly and accommodating Sanjay. Loved the tasty to-go breakfast. The super clean room with comfy bed, fridge, coffeemaker was quiet and peaceful. Loved the location and amazing deck with view of the ocean. We will be back!

Great location, very nice place to stay in Carmel it's convenient to downtown Carmel, within walking distance or several great restaurants in the area. The only reason a couple of areas like room service were rated average was due to the Covid imposed restrictions on daily room service and breakfast areas. Understandable that the motel staff did the best they could in light of these pandemic caused limitations.

This is a solid, older hotel that is very clean and adequate for anyone, I think. Room has a small fridge. Bed very comfortable. Not a lot of amenities at present due to COVID-19, but we had everything we needed. They have a very nice deck from which you can watch the sun set over the ocean. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We were not disturbed by any noise.

Check-in receptionist was nice and helpful, but this is probably the only positive that will remain in my memory about this BW location. Parking is tight and difficult to maneuver. When we entered the ground floor wheelchair accessible room (which I definitely didn't book, I wanted a standard room), we were immediately enveloped in that nauseous, headache inducing motel room-spray smell that is just so last century. Dinged up furniture, some sort of brownish wall paint, carpet. All has seen better times. Lumpy mattress, the sheets and pillow covers didn't feel clean, some dirt spots on the comforter. The sink in the bathroom looked like it would fall out the wall, the tub had hair in the drain, the bathroom smelled like drain cleaner. Stuffed up fan exhaust. Oh man, what did they do during the pandemic downtime? Certainly not invest a dime in the comfort of their guests. I seriously thought about going someplace else, but they had already charged us four days before arrival and the town seemed crowded, so we went with it. But just imagine, you are wheelchair bound and this is what they expect you to be content with. It's a shame.

For a last minute trip to Carmel, we booked BW because the price was right and it was available. Room was clean and service was friendly. Location was excellent. An excellent value with kids...includes a pool! Highly recommend!

Everything was very good. Its walking distance to the beach and there's lots of little shops and restaurants around. Only bad thing is there's no microwave in the room. I would stay here again in the future.

I made reservations in advance for a 4 night stay. I requested a ground level room with a king bed. On arrival I was given a third floor room accessible by climbing two flights of stairs on the outside of the building. The lighting on the stair and on the outside hallway leading to my room were dim and/or burned out. The lighting inside the room was dim, especially over the sink. The heating system was either cold or sweltering. While descending the poorly lit stairs I suffered a fall. I reported it to the owner and he brushed it off without even asking about my injuries.

We stayed just one night at The Carmel Townhouse Lodge. I wish it was longer because we had a nice stay. We had a quiet room in the annex by the pool. The room had everything we needed to be comfortable. The fan was very appreciated! Breakfast was basic grab and go and Sanjay who checked us in gave it to us at check in which made it much easier. The only thing I wish we had was one more bath towel. Us women always use two. :) There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance, too many to name, but we had a lovely meal at Bistro Giovanni. See my review of our meal there. The Townhouse isn't the fanciest place to stay in Carmel, we've stayed in those too, but the rooms are comfortable and well maintained and the service is friendly. Plus you can't beat the price. I'm hoping for a longer stay around my birthday in May. We live about 40 minutes away and Carmel is a great little escape. We love to combine Carmel with Cambria which we did this time. Normally you can go down Highway 1 but with the washout we had to take 101. It was still a nice drive with beautiful green hills. We are planning to see you for my birthday at the beginning of May so we will be back!

From the pre check in procedure until the end, everything was wonderful. We asked ahead if we could park the car when we arrived since we would be there before check in and the answer was yes. That was greatly appreciated! Our room was also ready early which was also wonderful! Check in was excellent, our suite was perfect, and the location is great. The grab and go breakfasts due to the pandemic were available the night before which made it very convenient. The express check out was perfect. The communal balcony area with the view of the ocean was great for a glass of wine or coffee in the morning. Highly recommend staying here!

We left a place in Pacific Grove that was $80 more an unsatisfactory. We went to a restaurant in Carmel and they recommended Carmel's Townhouse Lodge a Best Western. What the property and the manager, Sanjay provided that the first place we stayed did not are: Incredibly helpful staff on where to ride our bikes, restaurants and what to do including discounts to an awesome restaurant. The amenities were great the refrigerator in the room the coffee maker luxurious towels and linens incredibly clean. Also there was an icemaker a water purifier to fill your bottles and a soda machine. There is a beautiful crystal clean pool in the lobby was wonderful. A nice large television that one of the staff members help us hook your computer up to use. The flowers and landscaping are beautiful. It is so clean I even saw fell out with a rag and a squirt bottle cleaning the parking curbs. Sanjay, the manager and his daughter are now friends. He has an amazing travel history that's similar to mine and we agreed to talk on the phone more about it. When someone asked me where I was staying in Carmel, I told them I'm staying with a friend. I highly recommend this property.

We try to visit Carmel at least once a year and the Best Western is always our choice. Amazing location, great service and good rooms. The hotel is perfectly located so you can park your car and walk all over town. The restaurants, galleries and the beach are all walk distance.

Found left over foods from the previous guests maybe in the fridge. Cabinets were dusty and found hair on the bed sheets when opened. Good thing we brought our own clorox wipes and UV light. Stayed only for one night.

Room was very old, poor lighting, dated/inadequate window coverings (one of which was coming off), dirty-especially in bathroom-the walls, tile, and a man's whiskers in the sink! Our room in an “annex building” was sloppily painted, grouted, caulked. Parking stalls were far too small in the lot for this building- we parked on the street. Will never use this property again!

Nice hotel in a great location, employees were nice and attentive! It was a quick check in and check out. Beautiful terrace with a slight ocean view, great for watching the sun set. Will stay here again when in the area!

Carmel is a very expensive town, but it helps to find a hotel at a reasonable price. The Best Western is only 3 blocks from the main area. The price is unbelievably reasonable. I would definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay for my COVID-cation. 3 nights. When I asked if I could take my bicycle into my room, they replied that I could, but it would be cramped. I was confused. But when I arrived, I saw that the rooms are European-sized! But it was just me, so it was fine. Bathroom is really small, but again, only me. The deck is great, with a peek of the ocean. It was a good alternative when one of the bars left me sitting outside on my own for 15min without acknowledging me, so I came back to the patio, got a drink out of my own stash, and enjoyed the rare warm evening. Priced at 1/3 of normal, it was a no-brainer choice. And it's perfectly located for today's era of grab-n-go meals.

What a great choice this hotel was, and with their Manager, Sanjay at the front desk we felt like we were in perfect hands. There were 3 of us, and we had reserved their 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms, and couldn't have been happier with the room layout and amenities. The views & sounds of the ocean in the distance on a very popular but quiet street was ideal. A 1/2 block away was the famous Hog's Breath Inn, art galleries and great shopping. Sanjay, the Manager was just unbelievable, he saw to our every need with extra towels, pillows, great breakfast packages due to Covid, and the best restaurant recommendations in town. Plus he gave us his card and by mentioning his name, we were given 10-15% off our restaurant tabs. You can't possibly go wrong at this hotel, it's not like any other Best Western, with their central location, cleanliness, attention to their guests and consideration it was really great. Sanjay, you truly made our stay so wonderful, that we canceled our 3rd night in Pismo Beach just to stay here for 3 consecutive nights (we had only reserved 2 nights). We hope to return again very soon. Thank you very much Sanjay!

Rented best room, King suite. Sofa and chairs were filthy, stained and in desperate need of replacement. Furniture in general was old and in poor condition. Management was unresponsive to complaints and loud unruly guests smoking and noisy well past midnight in hallways and room areas. Great location, but don't expect a well maintained/clean/quiet place to sleep!

Carmel is a great place for a day or a week. The price is reasonable. The service, can not be beat. We will be in Carmel again and we will stay here because of the staff. Specifically, Sanjay! We have never more welcome anywhere.

Stayed here for two nights; was on the bottom floor even when I put in a request for the 2nd. Was told because I had kids (5 and 12 years). But we were tortured with a kid running, banging and throwing a tantrum upstairs of us for hours at night! The mom yelling at the same time trying to calm the kid down. My kids were complaining and they're kids. Front desk person decided to automatically signed me up for a rewards program at check in and told me of its benefits...Walls and ceilings are very hollow (request for upper level if you want peace). Didn't want to complain because I was trying to be understanding. My kids aren't loud like that and when we were in the room, they just laid in bed most of the time. Room is very dated and ours was pretty dusty and smelly. It's not as clean as I liked it to be. Sheets were not quite cleaned (found spots/stain) so I laid my own towel over it and used my blanket because it was making me itchy. Towels may have been washed but left over hair on them. Due to Covid, there is no house keeping which suck because I would think they would keep the rooms clean. Pool also closed. No hand soap or fan working in the bathroom and A/C barely works! It wasn't that hot but was so stuffy that I had to leave the windows open. Wouldn't recommend more than 2 nights here. Wasn't happy. However, we had a great time! Convenient to a lot of eats/shopping. Carmel Beach was walking distance and Pebbles Beach, only a few minutes drive; another 45 minutes to Big Sur.

The hotel locations is great. All restaurants, shops etc re in walking distance as well as the beach which is only 5 blocks down. Please be aware that it is hilly. The parking lot is quite small but the parking is free. We really appreciated the service at check in. The room decor could be a bit more modern and updated as well as the bathrooms, but our room was very spicy. We booked a king bed with a sofa bed. Unfortunately the pool was closed due to COVUD but because we had a big space room to relax it did not matter that much.

Town House is in almost ideal Carmel location for good restaurants and shops. Staff was very pleasant, hotel quite comfortable. Despite current COVID restrictions, they did their best to give me a good 3-night visit. I would stay there again.

We stayed 1 night and this hotel was perfect for us. It was clean and quiet. It is walking distance to many hotels and shops. We even walked down to the beach which was about 1/2 mile. I will stay here again.

Arrived at this Best Western in Early June. Unfortunately this was during the State Covid 19 stage. With that said, we enjoyed our 4 day stay here. This Best Western is located in Carmel, we wanted to stay within walking distance to downtown and the beaches. Check in was quick and fast, the front desk manager was extremely friendly and VERY informative! He gave us information on great places to eat and visit, even details on local favorite eat's / dishes and the history of Carmel. We stayed in a nice room above the office. The bed was comfortable and included a small fridge, tv and coffee/tea maker. Bathroom was a good size and stocked with soap, towels and toiletries. Overall our stay was wonderful! Staff was very nice, hotel was clean and the Manager was Awesome! We will be back again!.

I don't easily take to writing a review, but our stay at Best Western Town House Lodge in Carmel was very pleasant. The gentleman running the place was extremely friendly and welcoming. On top of that he gave us great advice on where to eat and have drinks. Even the day we checked out he still had recommendations on places to go for lunch along the way (which turned out to be amazing). We were very happy to have met him. Our stay was without worries and simply comfortable. Location is perfect, in the middle of Carmel and walking distance to pretty much everything. I'll be staying here again next time.

Was a good place to stay prior to spending three nights at Spanish Bay. Pretty basic, but the beds were comfortable and the room was very quite, plus the price was right. The bathroom was incredibly small, but you can tell they had tried their best to update the room and bathroom.

Great location, clean, comfortable beds, breakfast is good. Easy check in and out. Would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff. Great location to art and restaurant district. Carmel is fabulous! Great value for this location!

Very accommodating staff and nice rooms considering age of most motel/hotels in this area. Clean and well maintained. Most hotels in this area are old so they have “thin” walls and this was no exception.We had a very quiet room but our neighboring family insured our early rise! Staff could have improved by placing families in one area. The great benefit of older hotels, even this remodeled one, is usually great water pressure! Normal breakfast items but staff tuned them up for better taste. Very small breakfast room.

Motel is one of the best you will find. Clean comfortable and quiet. Parking ok for sedan/saloon Has a pool for the summer and if your brave this time of the year. Breakfast was ample, coffee and juice is very good. Enjoy 9.5 out of 10 for me. Thanks

We were excited to stay at this property and booked a king suite for a family of 3. We arrived and they did not have a suite available even though we paid for it. We said that was not sufficient room for us and had to scramble to find another place. I immediately asked for a refund and they started to blame booking.com and agoda.com whom we booked through. My credit card reflects that best western charged me not the 3rd parties even though best western could not honor my reservation. Through emails they admit the error but still are pointing fingers at the other parties. If you must stay here I would call in advance to make sure they have the room reservation you thought you bought. Very unscrupulous business practices.

The staff is very friendly when checking in and checking out. The location is ideal, about in the middle of town, two blocks off Ocean Avenue. Since Ocean is a bit steep going up and down toward the beach, the elevation of the Best Western was good. We were on a quite street. The rooms could be updated a bit.

This hotel is located in town and in walking distance to the beach, downtown restaurants and shopping. Friendly and efficient service, free parking a plus. Continental breakfast included but we preferred going to one of the many wonderful bakeries and cafes instead.

Our stay was a wonderful. Sanjay made sure we felt welcome. He suggested great dining options and was very friendly. The hotel is at a great location,walking distance to everything. The rooms were clean and breakfast had great options. Check in was quick and we were able to be on our way to enjoy Carmel!

I walked in off the street during an overnight business trip. They gave me a room right away and it was just a few feet away from my car! The room was cozy and nice. The price was 20% less than the rates I saw online. The staff was really helpful and nice.

Our first contact with this hotel was with Sanjay at the front desk - he was wonderful, incredibly helpful about various places around the hotel and couldn't have been nicer. Our room was clean, the television worked beautifully and the bath towels are Large!!!!! No complaints! Plenty of parking right at the hotel and their breakfast was just the right way to start the day!

Nice staff. Great location. Musty room. Stayed in Room # 209 upstairs . Noisey constant hum in room. Even some vibration from it. Front desk staff told me they were all this way, because of heater system. First nights sleep not very good. Second nights sleep was more used to it. Even though very nice staff would not stay here again, sorry to say.

Room was clean and very spacious. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Heated pool not really heated and is small. Breakfast area small, selection of choices limited and all the bread products were very dry.

I booked this motel 2 days before ourselves arrival date for a last minute trip to rendezvous with family in Carmel by the Sea. This motel is conveniently located 2 blocks from Ocean Ave & close walking distance to some spectacular restaurants (Casanovas, The Forge, Corner Cafe, Hog's Breathe). The parking lot in the front is very tight and can be very challenging if you're traveling in a large SUV or mini van. You can park in the street just make sure you're not in a 2 hour limit parking space. Check in was easy and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Our 2nd floor, 2 queen room was small, yet cozy and most importantly, clean. Our hotel window had a view of the pool and an even better partial ocean view. Even though the ocean view was partial, the sunset from the room was pretty spectacular. The complimentary breakfast was basic, but convenient and exceptional. Overall, this was probably one of the cheaper lodgings (between $380-3 $320/night) within the Golden Rectangle with a heated pool (that the kids enjoyed), clean rooms and ocean views.

The hotel itself was pretty average. We stayed close with family members for a wedding. Kids enjoyed it (as they would with any hotel.) Everything was close by walking/driving distance. Room was pretty spacious. Breakfast was good enough that we had something to feed our picky eaters. There was an odor though in the room...a bit moldy. There was no AC (but we didn't need it since it was pretty cool.) The hair dryer died on me. Good thing my cousin was just 2 floors above and let me borrow theirs. Overall, it was a decent stay.

Stayed here for one night and guess the price reflects that it is in the beautiful town of Carmel however the hotel is rather basic. The beds were comfortable and the parking included in the price however you may be better to stay in Monterey and drive into the town for the day.

Stuffy room...no A/C. Remotes don't work with the features in the TV. You can't get access to the guide for the channels. They replaced the regular remotes with "clean" remotes that don't work with the TV

Staff was very helpful! The hotel is downtown ... close to everything! If you're staying in Carmel-by-the-sea, this hotel is perfect and within walking distance to all you need ... including the beach.

We did this to ourselves; waiting until the day of to book a hotel in Carmel on a Saturday during the height of the tourism season. But still. $300 for a tired, half-renovated Best Western with questionable housekeeping is insane. This is a 1960s-1970s era motel complete with a vintage thermostat my millenial girlfriend wasn't even sure how to operate, and vintage, square recessed light fixtures. It even has one of those fun heat lamps on a timer in the bathroom. You can see the old caulk lines on the tub from where they removed the old school frosted glass sliding shower doors. Think "lipstick on a pig." It is updated, however, with more modern furniture, carpeting, drapes, etc., granite in the bathroom. They tried.Speaking of the bathroom, however, there were several coarse hairs on the bathroom floor and in the tub. Breakfast is bad coffee, powdered eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. None of this would have bothered me at a lower price point, it is a two-star hotel after all. But at $300, this experience was infuriating.

Lovely hotel, we stayed one night as part of our california road trip and despite arriving let were given a very friendly welcome and great parking advice as there isn't much at the hotel. The room was clean- although the carpets were quite wet from being cleaned which was odd. Breakfast was standard buffet fare but well executed and appreciated. Our stay was short so we didn't check out the facilities but from what we saw all was well maintained and the location is great for a wander around the quirky streets of Carmel or for a stroll to the beach.

Had an overnight stay here. Great location and spacious comfy room with WiFi and cable tv. They had just washed the carpets so a little damp under foot but at least they were clean! The beds are very comfy but the neighbours were quite noisy. Not the hotels fault! Average breakfast included which is good to grab on your way out. Loved Carmel, beautiful place.

We stayed 3 days in Carmel as the first stop of our California trip. It was superb. The hotel is located right in the middle of the town, close to everything. Only a short walk to the beach. Breakfast was included and great!! We will return for sure, highly recommend tis hotel.

Stayed here for 5 nights during the annual Carmel Plein Air Art Festival in May. For the price, you cannot beat this place; exceptionally reasonable when compared to other lodging in Carmel. Room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast buffet was good; had all I wanted. On-site parking was very convenient, and as was the location of the hotel - central to everything in Carmel; everything was within walking distance. Staff was wonderful, everyone from front-desk to housekeeping, everybody was great. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Adequate and well equipped room. Easily understood coffee maker. Comfortable bed. Nice shower, easily understood and operated. Convenient parking. Demerit points: Standard format for American breakfasts: if you are vegan, you have to make the best of sweet foods, nothing for you. No air conditioning. Half size pillows.

The best thing about this property is the location. It is only a block and a half to the Main Street, Ocean Avenue. Many good restaurants, shopping, and art galleries are nearby. Once we parked the car, we did not need it for the remainder of the day. This older property is well maintained. Everything was in good working order. The bed was clean and comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. The bathroom in room 123 was small. Downstairs rooms may experience the sound of footsteps from upstairs--a bit of creeking noise. Best to get an upstairs room if available. Free parking was available for our weekday stay. Complimentary breakfast was good, except cream for the coffee was old according to my companion and the gentleman at the next table. I enjoyed my scrambled eggs, waffle with fresh butter and syrup, orange juice and yoghurt. Shammy, the front desk clerk was delightful! She was fast, efficient, friendly, and very helpful. This employee deserves recognition for giving great service.

The rooms were spacious & bed was comfortable. Our room was comfortable & was right next to pool which made it convenient. The restroom needs updating. The breakfast was mediocre. We enjoyed our stay overall.

Make no mistake that Carmel is one of the toniest communities on the entire California Coast. And the hotel options are reflective of this profile. Except for The Best Western Town House Lodge. Not only is this place affordable, it gets the job done. Yes, it's showing its age but the rooms are adequate and the venue has one of the best locations in town as you are right in the middle of great restaurants, shops and art galleries. If you're searching for an acceptable and affordable place in the off season, welcome home.

This is an older but nicely cared for property. The location was great, close to dinning and shopping. Best of all was the price, especially for being located in Carmel. I'd stay here again. Nice quiet location too.

We stayed for three nights and found the location of the hotel to be really great. It was quiet but quick walk to everything we wanted to do. Staff was friendly and responsive. Hotel is older but fitting for Carmel. Price was reasonable. Nice sundeck with a view of the ocean.

I love Carmel. It is my happy place. I travel here at least every couple of years and usually around my birthday. I choose to stay at the Carmel Town House Lodge by Best Western. It is a very cute quaint little hotel right in the center of town. It is within walking distance of the main street and literally a block away from the famous Hogs Breathe Inn. The hotel is nice. It was stormy over the weekend so I was glad to be in such a nice little hotel. The room was clean, quaint and quit cozy. The bed nice and comfortable. They did have a little frig and a nice closet I must say. We had a bit of a power outage, like about 24 hours worth which effected the whole town. It was a bit inconvenient, but made for a nice unplugged day. The hotel staff were very kind and accommodating. They really tried to make the fact the power was out better. I found things to do and luckily had a flashlight. Always be prepared as you never know the weather in the central coast. Power was returned Saturday evening and the rest of the weekend was marvelous. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Shammi for making my stay and my birthday so nice.

Were not honest regarding noise in room location. Other guests complained. Very rude manager. Office is closed and no hotel personal are on site in over night hours.Breakfast area is 4 tables and 10 chairs very small for size of hotel. Parking is scarce. Rooms are out dated. I would recommend to anyone stay some where else there are allot of better choices in Carmel

Our first stop-over on our road-trip from San Francisco to LA. Rooms quite ok, small pool appreciated by the teens and great location with regards to walking around and to the beach. Glutenfree options higly appreciated since we have a daughter with celiac disease. The city itself have little to offer family with teens. Glad we only had one night here, and we will most likely not return.

You can Find others in the town. There are many very pretty and special local lodge in the town. The hotel is old, like a motel more than a hotel. Nothing can comment on this hotel, very standard motel, generally no service.

As with many of the properties in Carmel this is a small hotel with limited parking. The room, which was on the top floor, was small with a floor that made quite a bit of noise when we walked around so we were careful to walk gingerly in the early morning. It was noisy when guests walked around on the outside walkways but we slept well and it was very quiet overnight.

We had a good room and it was close to downtown. It was quiet and clean, and we had everything we needed, except a telephone book. Breakfast was not available at the time we needed it, which we regretted. It probably would have been very nice. A wide variety of offerings were listed.

This room had no air conditioning; we were not told of this fact when we booked the room. As we came in after dark and were exhausted from traveling all day, we stay there instead of looking elsewhere. The room was hot and very small; the price was almost $300! Way overpriced! No more Best Western for us.

Very friendly check-in, helpful lady at the counter. The room was not big but large enough for the three of us, with two queen beds. Two blocks from Ocean Avenue, but a longish walk to the beach. Breakfast was surprisingly good, with scrambled eggs, waffles, etc. Nice restaurants around, we went to an Greek-themed one with a bit of live music.

Reception were very efficient and helpful. The room was a decent size with the usual amenities and clean, the bathroom was a reasonable size but no bath just a walk-in shower.With external stairs to the first floor it can get noisy with people running up and down and the walls are thin so you can hear next door and people outside, unfortunately we had cause to complain twice about the noise other guests were making.Located within easy reach of restaurants and the main shopping area. Having stayed at numerous Best Westerns this does not rank with the best and very expensive for what you get, probably would not stay here again if we came back to Carmel.

Stayed here in july, paid my bill upon checking out. Six weeks later, a new charge appeared on my card. I have called the hotel many times to try to solve this matter but the manager is never at the property so is unreachable. They gave me an email address and I wrote but he has not yet replied 5 days on.

find another place to stay as if you're looking for space, cleanliness, and overall any comfort at all, it's not here. We've stayed at many Best Western's and this one definitely needs a huge upgrade, especially for the $$$ they charge.

We just came back from three nights with several family members and really had a good time. We have stayed there before and prefer the upstairs rooms to the ground floor.....they seem brighter. Very friendly staff, clean rooms and a breakfast that includes the basics. The breakfast room is a bit small but the upstairs lounge are is nice and a really short flight of steps. What really sets the hotel apart is the location to downtown and strolling the main drag. Lots of nearby restaurants and shopping. Walking to the beach was nice and easy but the walk home is a surprisingly long uphill climb.........just be forewarned. The pool was adequate for the kids and a quick dip by adults.

The one thing going for this Best Western is its location. You can walk into Carmel . Otherwise it is over priced and sadly in need of a makeover. Sad brown decor not touched for years. The rooms are smaller than the photos suggest. The beds are comfortable though and the motel is quiet. The pool is too small to accommodate the guests Breakfast is meagre and the breakfast room is dismal and small. There is s terrace which could be really nice but it is uncared for. Bit like the motel. Best Western can do better.

Loved that the hotel was so close and easily walkable to the main business district but yet a few streets off the main thoroughfare. It's challenging to provide parking, breakfast room, pool, and rooms within such a small footprint, but their floorplan works. Staff were professional and accommodating. Comfortable.

Wife and I stayed here I night and everything was fine. Staff very helpful and rooms clean and beds comfy. Free breakfast in an interesting location and food was fine. Great location right in downtown. Parking can fill up but we were ok. WiFi worked fine.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. The only thing going for this place is the convenient location. The bed is as hard as the floor, they didn't pick up the room( claiming they were short staffed- didn't even make the bed or provide extra soap), and what cleaning and maintenance staff there was regularly yelled to each other down hallways and stairwells, despite our repeated requests that they not yell. Such a disappointment. Owners clearly don't care about customer experience.

Spent Memorial Day weekend in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The Best Western Carmel's Town House Lodge was a great choice. They provide a decent breakfast. Stores were a few blocks away, everything was walking distance. The room itself was basic, a decent bed, decent bathroom and decent vanity. In short, the room got the job done, and the location was perfect.

We booked this hotel because they have one room (104) that is actually two rooms with two bathrooms connected. Very convenient when travelling with 2 teens. For the price of around $200 a night a relatively good deal in Carmel. Did we love it? No. I can't believe the reviews that state that breakfast is good and that it's in a nice breakfast room. The breakfast room is tiny, hot, dirty (sticky floors and sticky jelly basket), a very unfriendly breakfast lady, and yoghurts that were all one week over the best by date! We mentioned it to the reception and they replaced them with other yoghurts that were frozen the next day. The bathrooms were not clean enough(calcium on shower doors), the remote of the tv did not work. The sun deck was nice though and parking is free. Can't beat the location.But if you are only with 2 people it should be possible to find a nicer hotel in Carmel for the same price.

Great location. Walking distance to everything in downtown Carmel. Hotel staff was awesome. They provided very helpful information about Carmel and surrounding areas. Hotel has two parking lots, which is particularly important in town since there are not many parking spots available.

This place is perfectly located to park and then walk around the lovely town of Carmel. There is coffee making facilities in the lobby and breakfast is fairly standard bagels, waffles, cereal, yoghurt, etc. The bed was comfy and bathroom clean and modern. Perfectly good place to stay if you are after no fuss central convenience.

This is a great property for families. The location is perfect, the rooms are larger, the parking is included (though space is limited and tight), and breakfast is filling. We had a decent view of the ocean too. Pool is clean, and the top floor sun deck is a great place to opt for your breakfast seating. We parked for our entire stay and walked anywhere we needed to go for meals, shopping, beach combing, or exploring. On check out I let them know there was quite a bit of trash from previous guests under our beds and behind the night stand, some of the shampoos and conditioners were used and not replaced but we bring our own shower kits. They took note and I am sure they took care of it. From what we could see the hotel was very clean. We had a very nice stay. Will certainly recommend to people traveling with families or children. It's a great base to stay at if you are visiting the surrounding state parks.

My husband and our two small children had a lovely stay her last month. The lady at check in couldn't have been more polite or helpful, the room was comfortable and clean, and the location was perfect for accessing everything we needed to. Parking was a bit tight but this is a small price to pay to be so centrally located. Breakfast was a decent spread also, plenty of choices even for gluten free (if you are happy with eggs and yoghurt/fruit and bring your own bread).

Mattress was like sleeping on a wood floor, pillows were the same. Exhausted and restless by morning; thankful we only spent one night. Free breakfast; well lets just say; you get what you pay for!!!!

Really handy for central Carmel. Room was clean and comfortable. Small pool and elevated patio area where you could have breakfast. The breakfast room was quite small but the food was adequate. No complaints at all really.

The lodge is located almost in the center of town. Unfortunately it's not worth staying there. The front office is a tiny room. They tell you up front if you leave after 6:30am no express breakfast bag. Even if you have a member number.

Stayed for one night on the trip to Big Sur, did not feel comfortable. The hotel is basically a motel with much higher price. The room is small with little spare space. Inside feels dark and stuffy. Both room supplies and service are very basic. Will unlikely stay here again. Recommend finding a better alternative.

I stay at this little gem every year for my Carmel hiatus. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The location is great. The rooms are large and the mattress is comfortable. The breakfast has improved 1000% over the years and the breakfast room is bright and cosy, I highly recommend the Carmel Town House Lodge. Quality is consistent year over year.

Spent 2 nights while sightseeing the Pebble Beach area and driving the 17 mile route. Hotel was clean, staff friendly. Location was excellent, easy walk to many restaurants, clubs, antique stores, etc. Free breakfast included hot eggs and sausage as well as the usual cold.

We stayed here for 3 nights while attending the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am! Shamie at the front desk (sorry not sure of the spelling) was a great help! She got us in our room early so we could get down to Pebble Beach and was very helpful with any all questions we had. All the staff is very friendly and attentive. The central location of this hotel makes it easy to get to any where around town. We'll be back :)

Pleasant place to stay. Staff was very helpful and accommodating went out of their way to make us feel comfortable suggesting places to visit and resturants to try. Would stay here again when we have the opportunity to return to Carmel.

We stayed here one night on our way to San Francisco, we arrived at night and our first impression was wrong, from outside it looks like a road motel, but rooms are renovated and clean, we asked for a crib on our reservations and it was already in our room, and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The hotel offer free parking and a breakfast, everything we needed to explore the área and cotinue on the road. A very good alternative and with great value for the money.

We stayed 1 night at the Best Western in Carmel on the way from San Francisco to Big Sur. We had chosen to stay there rather than the less expensive option of Monterey, and were not disappointed. We were able to walk to the restaurant on the evening we arrived, then to the beach and to the Mission the next morning. The room was clean and the night was quiet (we were on the top floor). The staff was friendly and helpful. A very pleasant hotel in Carmel.

Clean nice hotel friendly staff. I will stay again do to the price and cleanliness of the rooms and overall hotel. I'm conducting business in this particular area all the time and I've stayed at a lot of these hotels in the area this is a better one

The beakfast options were disappointing, but this is a great, central location. We had a clean (albeit small...#220) room, and the check in/out staff were great. Shower was good and the bed was very comfortable. What more do you need?

We were welcomed by a very nice staff. This is our 2nd time here. We stayed in the suite room which was nice and close to restaurants and shops. They also have a nice continental breakfast. We will be back.

right in city center, near to tons of shops. 2 minutes walk to coach store. clean and comfort room. friendly and helpful staffs. sufficient parking lots, gas station on the opposite. beautiful town. overall we enjoyed the stay.

Check-in and check-out was performed in a professional manner and my request to email the receipt was welcomed. Staff in all areas were friendly and professional. Breakfast facility is cosy but as they state there are seating areas in the upstairs outdoor area. Not good in bad weather, but would be welcomed in warmer months. Breakfast choices were good.

The lodge was beautiful. They have an outdoor patio surrounded by planters filled with flower. There's an ocean view and you're walking distance to tons of shops. The rooms where clean and comfortable.

We stayed for seven nights and have only good comments about our experience. The lodge is located just a couple of blocks from the main street (Ocean Avenue), so restaurants and shops are an easy stroll away. For such an ideal location with breakfast (baked goods, waffles, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee/tea) included, our off-season rate was as low as $117 on several nights. This is not a luxurious hotel, but our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and having a refrigerator was a plus. Both the office staff and Diana in the breakfast room were friendly, helpful, and eager to please. Our east-facing second-floor room was a bit dark during the day, but it was next to the roomy sun deck from which we saw spectacular sunsets over the water. The beautiful Carmel beach is a downhill walk of about ten minutes along the shop-lined streets. The value and location made this a perfect home away from home.

Have stayed here in the past, and this time was great as usual.The young lady at the desk, Shammi, was so cheery and kind. The room was comfortable, clean and lovely. It is so close to everything. Room was quite,and nice view looking toward the Pacific ocean. Will continue to come here,and stay.

Stayed at this hotel with my wife for one night at the end of October. The weather was unusually hot, 91F, and there was NO air conditioner in the room! My wife and I had expected that a hotel located in a such hot place like California would definitely offer its guests an air conditioner. It was really hard to stay in the room dressed. The hotel staff provided us with a small tower fan, but it did not give us any relief. We could not sleep at all all night long The hotel's only advantage was its great location close to the restaurants, shops and the beach. Breakfast was so simple and unattractive that we had to go out to have a "normal" breakfast somewhere. Overall, I would not recommend to stay at this hotel if you have other options.

We stayed one night and we're pleased with the hotel. Great location and close to Ocean Avenue. The room was adequate in size and was very comfortable. It was clean and nicely decorated. We liiked having a refrigerator in the room. This room even had a walk in closet. We would stay here again as it was clean, quiet and affordable.

Well located in the center of town. Manager very friendly and knowledgeable.Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. If you have bad knees ask for a downstairs room. Parking is tight. We would stay here again.

Well located in the center of Napa. Comfortable bed and clean room/bathroom. The pool is very small tho, so there was no lapping possible and not in the sunniest part of the hotel. Free parking in the hotel.

This is an older property so there is no air conditioning, but they provided portable fans. The room was clean and nicely updated. There is no elevator, so if you need to, ask for the first floor. The parking is free, but the spaces are very tight. Get there early and leave your car and walk to the shops and restaurants nearby. It is a few blocks, downhill, to the beach, but walkable. Carmel-by-the-sea is just such a cute little town that you want to walk everywhere anyway so this is a great location.

When reading the reviews of this hotel, I came across a very rude reply from the owner to a former guest who wrote a negative review and should've listened to my gut feeling about this hotel before I reserved my room-red flag number one. My first encounter upon check-in was that the host refused to take my frequent guest number-red flag number two. I drove back to my room, traipsed up the stairs (there is no elevator) with all my belongings, flung open the door to a stench that almost bowled me over, and fingered my way to a light switch in order to make my way around the cavelike room (mind you, it was about 2 pm)-red flag number three. During the week of my visit the whole bay area was having record high temps and this hotel does not have air conditioners however, I thought that I could keep cool enough with the self standing fan they had provided-red flag number four. Unfortunately, the room was like a sauna upon first entry and I was never able to cool it down even with open windows and the ocean breeze. Mind you I was by myself, sleeping in a room accessible to the street with the windows open and no security bars! To add to this, the door lock was frozen and, even after having the hostess come down to look at it, was not repaired during my time there. On my first night there the TV would not turn on so I called the office repeatedly to get help but, to no avail. They would not answer the phone and the voicemail box said it was full. They do offer a breakfast buffet although, it's in a room which has a large picture window in it that faces the morning sun that creates a fish bowl effect and doesn't have a shade to draw. Having prepaid for the room through my company was a terrible mistake that I'll never make again.

This is a tired property with none of Carmel's charm. The in room lighting is poor and the availability of charging ports ancient. The cleanliness of the room was passable at best. There just was little value associated with this property.

Excellent friendly check in. We find friendly employees at just about every BW we have stayed at. This is not a "lodge" as stated in name, it's a motel (or at least the section we stayed in was). And with reading some of the other reviews, it seems your room is the luck of the draw or their expectations are to high. With that said we were assigned a room on the "third floor". We had to drive around the corner to access a separate parking lot and there was only 4 rooms here and was right above the parking lot. You have to carry your suitcase up a steep flight of stairs. But the positive is there are no rooms above or below you. We reserved a king and thats what we got. Room is dark and on the older side but it was clean. There was a small heated pool. Breakfast was included with room rate. Ample parking (main reason I booked this plus the location). There is an in room mini fridge, very comfy bed and pillows (I find this a theme at all BW's too), decent sized flat screen tv but reception at times was poor, excellent wifi. Room did get stuffy and has no AC but I knew this before I booked the room (do your homework!) there was a fan in room but it still got quite stuffy. Bathroom exhaust fan was extremely annoying because it automatically went on when you put the light on and was loud. Sink/vanity was outside the bathroom. There is some street noise but this is to be expected since YOUR IN TOWN!!! Excellent location. Restaurants and shops are all just minutes walk.

clean and nice hotel in carmel location is good, rooms are typically for a motel style hotel, but still nice and spacious parking is for free and available staff very friendly breakfast is a joke though.

The only thing this experience taught me was to never stay at a Best Western again. I gave them a chance, and they failed miserably. The hotel was in terrible condition, rooms falling apart and no air-conditioning.

NIce hotel - updated rooms, super clean, great location, very courteous and helpful front desk staff. Nice free breakfast with fresh waffles, fruit, juices, cereals. Small, clean swimming pool. Walkable to quaint shops, restaurants, art galleries and the beach.

Honestly, the hotel was secondary to the beautiful community. Great location and walkable to great restaurants and shopping. Also close to the ocean and saw a beautiful sunset. We skipped the hotel breakfast for some wonderful delights at the local coffee shops.

Nice location direct in the center of Carmel by the Sea. Nice roof terrace. Friendly stuff, clean rooms. Overall a great stay. Enough parking slots and fast Internet. The breakfast room is too small. We will come back.

I've stayed here several times and it always feels great to be back. The staff is welcoming and go out of their way to make one's stay "the best". The location is great as one can walk everywhere even to the beach. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the wifi always works. There is now a great "breakfast room" with a pretty good continental breakfast and great coffee. I will be returning next year.

Overall it is an excellent place to stay. We are repeated customers for the last 5 years. Next year I will ask for a room that does not have a window facing 5th Street. Very noisy. Location is excellent. Wish the cost could be more reasonable.

This Best Western, Carmel's Town House Lodge is conveniently located just two blocks off the main street that leads to the sea - a 10-12 minute walk. The motel is old but very well kept. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious and comfortable - moderate price.

Everything was great except for having no air conditioning. The location was within walking distance of everything and the breakfast room was well stocked and they even had fans in the room but this was a hot week and the lack of air conditioning made the trip worse.

This is the third time I've stayed at this hotel, and I continue to return mostly because it offers excellent value and a convenient location. Obviously, Carmel, California is an expensive location. While there are nicer hotels in the area, the Best Western Town Lodge offers an outstanding location, clean and serviceable facilities, a comfortable bed, free breakfast, and a nice and caring staff. I'll staff there when I return next summer.

This is a great hotel and the perfect location. Carmel is expensive and this hotel was reasonably priced especially for what you get! Quiet, clean, large well equipped rooms and breakfast was great. Easily within walking distance to the beach and shops. Parking lot for guests only which made it really nice. Quiet and comfortable.

BW system cancelled reservation; with late arrival we had NO place to stay - even though we had a confirmed reservation. One hotel staff member attempted to accommodate us at a nearby hotel, but was unable to do so. Staff took 1/3 of the available guest parking spots making it very difficult to find adequate parking for our stay. This property was average in it's amenities.

We recently stayed here over the weekend right before the 4th of July. Pros: Great sun deck & pool area, courtious employees, breakfast provided, hair dryer and fans provided. Good location- walking distance to restaurants and shops. Updated and spacious room- good value. Provided plenty of blankets, towels, and pillows. Very clean room. Cons: 30 minutes late checking us in (past check in time), could hear some noise/stair sounds in our room, small parking lot, no AC, and a lot of stairs. Also the bed and couch were both rather firm. Overall, it was a good experience and we would consider staying here again next time we are in the area.

Shammi was awesome and very helpful with information about Carmel upon check-in. Very clean hotel and well maintained even though the area is quite historic. The hotel was convenient to all downtown attractions (shopping, dining, etc.)

Our room was clean and comfortable with easy access. The location - next to housekeeping's storage room was not a welcoming site during the day. It might have been nicer it the staff would close the storeroom door when not occupied, so the first site of the day wasn't piles of dirty linens, but it was very close to the one and only handicap parking space. So hardly a deal breaker. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The location was great, being right downtown. This is an older motel, but is well kept up and not worn looking, as many older motels tend to be. The beds and pillows were comfortable and very clean. They were fully booked every night and busy, yet the rooms were very quiet, making for a restful nights sleep. The bathroom was very small, but with property being what it is in Carmel I wasn't surprised. Well small and somewhat confined it wasn't at all a problem. Like most mid level motels, they offed a complimentary breakfast with the usual fare - hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, and fresh waffles. We are early risers and were usual one of the first to arrive. The later crowd was usually bigger and the dining area quite small. If it was full there was an overflow room outside in the second floor sitting area. We enjoyed our stay and would book it again if in the area.

Such a cute property and great value. The check in staff was very friendly and very informative. Breakfast was great and loved the second floor patio area for dining. Close to beach and shopping. Very happy with our stay!

Loved the roof deck. Location was great. The room needed some TLC. No SAFETY BAR in tub was scary getting in and out. The out door pool was a BIG HIT and a great time for all. Breakfast was what we expected.

We selected Best Western for its affordable price in expensive Carmel. Excellent location! Walkable to everything. Check in was great and our room was ready early, thanks to front desk clerk Shammi(?) going the extra mile to check us in. Parking is free and ample. We had a room in the back and our parking spot was covered, nice bonus. Room lacked a/c, which I learned was common in Carmel, and we visited during a heat wave. Ugh. Room had a fan, which we used constantly with open windows and it helped cool us off. Room was over the small, outdoor pool, which was quiet and hardly used, so no noise issues. Breakfast in the separate little room was a nice bonus. Overall, if on a budget, Best Western Carmel is a solid, comfortable place to stay.

The whole family went on a visit to the Bay Area. We spent a couple of nights in Carmel at this Best Western and they did not disappoint. The hotel was very clean, quiet, nice, and walking distance to Carmel main street (Ocean Avenue). It was close to restaurants. It was a very good value.

A wonderful place to stay in Carmel for sure! Our suite was spacy and had all essentials such as iron,hair blower,safe and coffee machine.Furniture was in good quality.I can't thank the staff enough for being so nice.Once we have got a problem(we needed to make an urgent call but did not know how) lady at the lobby was there to help and seemed really worried about us.Shame for me,I do not know her name.Breakfast offered enough meals to full your belly:) Thank you for having us!

Kids loved the pool, and the breakfast that's included. Perfect location to walk anywhere in the main Carmel area, and not far of a walk to the beach. Small and some tight spots in the bathroom when sharing, but it appears everyplace there is small and space is a premium.

Basically an old style motel. Rooms were very spare and definitely showed some signs of age--but comfortable enough. (Bathroom had lots of counter space, something often missing but definitely appreciated.) Staff was friendly and helpful and the location, just a few blocks from downtown, was dandy. Considering price/location trade-off, it was a good value.

I stayed here with my daughter and had a great time. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and kind. The room was clean and comfortable. My daughter enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was decent--a bit crowded the second day of our visit so we had to bring our food to our room, as there were no open tables. I would stay here again.

This hotel is 3 short blocks from the main street in Carmel and is walking distance from great shops and resteraunts. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a very nice sundeck with comfortable chairs to relax. Room was clean and nicely decorated.

On a particularly busy weekend in the spring last year I was lucky to get a room anywhere in Carmel, and the one a cousin found for me had a terrific central location. While the room itself was typical of a medium-priced chain, there were a couple of problems I found disturbing. First of all, the windows faced the walkway overlooking the parking lot and the street, so privacy was always an issue. One had to close the curtains or change clothes in the bathroom. The stairway up to the second floor never looked particularly clean, which made me wonder about the bugs I kept brushing off the bedspread. So when I checked out I did tell the nice lady at reception about them, although I hadn't yet figured out that they were bedbugs. When I saw my dermatologist days later and pointed out the straight line of bites on the back of my neck, it immediately occurred to him that they were bedbug bites. Need I say more?

Will return. Liked location the best. Convenient to retaurants and shops with a gas station across the street. Bed was toooooo hard. No light in the closet. Expected to hear traffic, but room was very quiet, except for occasional luggage drop from room above or on side. Would recommend to friends, noting issues with bed and closet.

We stayed one night at this hotel for the year end day of 2016. I was a bit upset about the size of the room and the fact that it looked old fashioned wooden motel, but given the fact of high accommodation prices in north California it was good. The breakfast was good. The staff were nice. We did not have a parking problem which can be a hassle in some of the hotels.

I suppose I had grown to expect more, during a two week trip from the UK traveling through Nevada and California it was shock to see our room in Carmel, I suppose this is what a budget gets you in this town. On getting into the room, an hour later than the advertised check in, the lights or TV would not work, day 2 the room was not serviced. The ever smiling staff could not be phased by any complaints, but you get what you pay for in this town, and the "best" costs a lot !!!.

We arrived late and took the only parking space, couldn't get food anywhere after a quick walk around a couple of blocks, ended up not needing it as we all nodded off so easily. Of our road trip this hotel was kind of our cheapest and not expecting much. However we all had our best nights sleep but was that due to the hotel or just tiredness. Breakfast was fine just your normal stuff not a big choice if fussy but certainly enough and you was expected to take stuff away (food that is, not the tables). We arrived at night so in the morning we was not expecting how beautiful the area was, the beach was a short distance away and friendly people everywhere. Just a short drive 15min we was told about a national park on the coast with seals giving birth. We walked the whole park, it had the most amazing cliff views and seeing the seals and pups was special. Negatives..... Not as easy to find as not labelled up as the hotel we booked and slightly looked different from the angle photos you see online. Accommodation slightly dated but comfy and no charging ports so needed plugs, quite funny when other hotels had usb charging docks in lights and we went to every lamp picking up and trying to find the socket unsuccessfully.

This facility is right in the middle of town. Walk to restaurants and art shops galore. Front desk check in/personnel friendly, helpful, and efficient. Prices vary EVERY night depending on day of the week and season. Comfortable beds, clean room. Small pool in the back with kids' noises on occasion...if you want to avoid request a room away from the pool. One peculiarity...it seems that the a/c and heating devices are all hooked together. So in my room, both (one unit) were turned off, but I could constantly hear them runnings....as mine was connected to many others in the facility. Weird. But not so loud as to interfere with sleep. Actually kind of lulled you to sleep! Nice breakfast included...could make your own waffles, always lots of hard boiled eggs, cereals, juices, toast, etc. No bacon./sausage, scrambled eggs. Parking lot sometimes was full, but you could easily find parking on the street....but had to move the car by 10AM the next morning. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Nice rooms. Clean, nicely decorated and updated bathroom. Great staff who were very accomodating. Ask for 2nd floor room for view of tree tops and ocean. The sun deck is a lovely place to eat breakfast and/or just hang out.

Didn't expect a lot, so I was very happily surprised! Huge bathroom with nice walk-in shower, very nice family room, good size bedroom, cozy fireplace and a beautiful view :) Very clean and updated interior, charming old exterior.

First impression was yes love it! Large rooms, large bathroom great water pressure for shower. Parking lot is small. Check in and check out was easy. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, shopping. Would stay here again.

The motel is well maintained, the staff is responsive, steps away from galleries and great restaurants and good healthy walk away from Carmel Beach. It is a short drive to Point Lobos or if you like Asilomar Beach or Pacific Grove and Monterey

The location was good. We kept our car parked in the parking lot so that we would not lose our space. The lot is small. We were on the ground floor. Our bathroom window looked out to the parking lot and walkway. We had to open it when showering because there was no fan. Don't bother staying for breakfast. They were out of most everything and there was standing room only. No coffee cups to even get my morning cup!

Avoid this hotel like the plague. It's dirty. It's dingy. There's no charm. There's nothing but noise at all hours of the night. Stay anywhere else in Carmel. Literally anywhere. Sleep in your car if you have to. Just avoid this place.

This lodge is near to everywhere! It is a nice place and stay. It is a short distance walk to many places around Carmel. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The breakfast area needs a bigger space because too many people cram into a small room.

Carmel is a small town to be visit by foot. Lots of restaurants and historic houses,and a nice beach. All at walking distance,and what is precious is the parking that allows you to leave your car safely and walk all around. We stayed a quiet night and had a good sleep. The breakfast was good and friendly,room good size with all amenities. For a reasonable price you have the best of this expensive town.

Good clean accommodation with a car park, Wifi, average breakfast in a quiet part of town within easy walking distance of the main shopping areas and restaurants. Helpful staff at check-in who allowed early access to the room.

Excellent hotel in great location with really helpful staff. The lady at reception (who always seemed to be on duty!) was extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble - thank you for all your help in making our stay so memorable. The rooms were spacious, very clean and very comfortable and when we decided to stay an extra night we got upgraded too. The included breakfasts were the best during our stay in California (normally you only get a cup of coffee and a danish if you're lucky). Here we had the choice of cereal/dried fruits, toast, muffins, waffles, yoghurts, fruit, boiled eggs and fruit juice. The location was excellent being a short walk into the centre of town.

dependable and comfortable Best Westons all the way from San Francisco to LA, along the West Coast HighwaY--we have enjoyed our visit to USA, A pity you cannot provide more likeable candidates for president and that the two ,involved have been so pathetic with regard to policy and concentrated on abuse. Perhaps a better attitude to gun contol/ banning , would be more impressive and some kind of international policies debated

This is our 4th time to stay at this hotel. We love it. It is the perfect location in Carmel. It is in walking distance to the beach and all shopping. We park our car when we arrive and don't use it again until we check out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms that we have stayed are always clean and smell pleasant. We plan on staying there again for our yearly visit to Carmel with our group of friends.

The size of this little community is reflected in the size of this Best Western. However, the breakfast room was so small and sparse it forced us to eat elsewhere. Very well located next to Monterey for food and 17-mile ocean drive. Ocean lookouts in Carmel outstanding. Neat town with quirkie houses - loved it.

This hotel is centrally located, but our experience of it was quite average. The main reason for this was the noise. We needed to open the windows at night as it was warm and there was no air conditioning. However, in the mornings there were early noisy refuse collections. We were also perhaps unfortunate to be placed next door to a room in which a large (noisy) family were staying. The room itself was comfortable, and the breakfast was fine and set us up for the day. Not sure however that I would stay here again.

Exceeded our expectations for a 2-star. We were in town for a wedding--same weekend as Monterey Jazz Festival. I'm a light sleeper, so room 220 was not the best fir: street noise, parking lot noise,, some sort of constant motor running noise, guests liked to party on sun deck next to our room and/or carry on long conversations on the balcony outside our room. Otherwise: room was nicely appointed. Bathroom was smallish but nicely appointed. Liked the window in the bathroom. Bed comfortable. Would have loved a ceiling fan over the bed and a light in the closer. Parking lot very small and spaces are tight. Can park on street overnight. Breakfast room nice, but small, items offered are adequate.

Large room, very clean, just shower was rather dribling than showering and way to low at only just about five feet high on the wall. Beds comfortable. Rather quiet location. Right in the middle of Carmel. Many Restaurants and Galleries nearby. Complimentary continental breakfast is okay. Friendly staff, good pool.

poor condition of hotel. heating system runs all the time with extreme heating noise. Informed this was a normal problem and hotel would provide ear plugs if we could not sleep.I would never go back here and would not recommend to any one else,There were other customers complaining about the same problems.

Not cheap but excellent location. Price is somewhat standard for not hacing reservations. But room was nice and clean. They offer good continental breakfast which is a plus and compensates. Front desk service and personnel where excellent. It is Carmel, no A/C in rooms but they have a fan for air circulation.

Fortunately we were able to secure a last minute room for the Concours weekend. For $500 a night we had a queen size bed in a small room. Everything was very clean and maintained but the room was small. The location couldn't be beat. The price gouging that weekend is a little distasteful but expected. The management did a great job. Parking is cramped but there was a dedicated spot for our car. I would stay here again.

Very basic lodging and you pay dearly for the convenient location. Free parking and free breakfast. Breakfast choices were mainly continental style. Very small swimming pool. Room temperature was difficult to regulate.

We chose this hotel because all the other hotels in Carmel were too expensive or full. I was a little worried because it was a Best Western and usually I do not stay in those kind of hotels. I was pleasently surprised when we checked in. The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was clean. The staff in the lobby/reception were very helpfull and nice. I recommend this hotel.

We had the family suite in the hotel and we were grateful for the extra space it gave. The room has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room and facilities are clean and well looked after. The 4 star rating is only due to the tiny breakfast room which does get very congested. There is a sign offering further seating in the sun deck, but there are only 2 tables here and it was not great in the cool weather.

Carmel is quite expensive, so this represents good value. We had to pay $10 for a rollaway bed. Parking was free and easy - grateful for that after a long drive. Basic room, quite crowded - but we knew that. Clean and tidy, including the bathroom. The breakfast room is tiny, so this could be a problem - although it was fairly well stocked when we went in there. Well located to explore the area. Didn't use the pool but it looked okay. The receptionist was helpful and very pleasant.

This hotel is right in the heart of Carmel! The location is such a plus so you can walk everywhere! Our room was very nice. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the complimentary beeakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel if visiting Carmel!

Was a nice place to stay. Great location. The rooms are a bit dark, it is difficult to put on make up, there are no mirrors that make it easy to do that. The front desk was lovely, and very helpful. Tried to call the Lodge to notify them that we were going to be late, and had to spend 5 minutes on hold. Would stay there again.

We paid $366 for one night's stay at this hotel and expected so much more than we got. The room was small and cramped. There was no bathtub, only a shower with horrible water pressure. The room was hot and uncomfortable and I was told that no air conditioning is allowed in Carmel's hotels. Stupid rule if I've ever heard one. The tiny bathroom was so hot after my shower, I had to take 2 more cold showers before I could finish getting ready for the day. There was free wifi, but it was so horrible that we used our own jetpack and went over our data limit. I wish we would have skipped this part of our vacation altogether. There are so many other beautiful places in California to visit, including less expensive options that actually don't make their guests suffer hot, humid hotel rooms. Camping would have been preferable.

This town just celebrated it centennial. A very beautiful and well kept historic hotel which flows beautifully with the rest of the town's well kept quaint atmosphere. This older style property was very comfortable because of all of the surfaces, interior and exterior have been recently updated and well maintained. While not large and roomy, it was very comfortable.

We stayed here for a couple of nights on our trip down Highway 1 from San Francisco. Good value, clean and a good breakfast were on offer. The rooms were spacious and clean and we had free wifi too! Great central location for exploring Carmel.

We loved the location! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My kids would've loved to try the heated pool, but it was very cold at the time we stayed in Carmel. The breakfast was just ok. There were a number of restaurants offering great breakfast nearby. Katy's Place was one of them. My family loved this area. Hopefully we can go back and stay longer.

Best Western is located in the heart of Carmel and offers free parking. The price was quite reasonable. Breakfast included fresh fruit. The best was Mr. Desai, the manager, who was very gracious and welcoming!

Hotel is located in downtown Carmel within walking distance to main street shops, restaurants and the beach. The room is very small and is best suited for two people or less. Free parking is adequate. Prepare to bring your own ice because it is common for the ice machine to run out of ice.

Great room, features. On the beach. Many places to eat close by. The breakfast was an added feature to get ones day started. A bike/walk trail is across the 2 lane road. The hotel faces west so sunsets are great.

We stayed here just one day, but we liked it pretty much, eventhough from outside it looked like a regular inn or motel, but the our room (220) was very nice, not super big, but modern furnitures, the shower was tiled from top to bottom, we loved the hot shower!! Fridge, coffee machine, we just felt very comfy. Would go here again!

It is a small but clean place and Good location. We got great service. Diana at reception area is great!!! Breakfast included is limited but convenient. Me and my family really enjoyed our stay. They have lots of good restaurants within walking distance.

Perfectly located in the center of Carmel, very close to Ocean av - very pleased with the staff. The pool was very small, but still nice. The room was well maintained, clean and quiet. No problem with parking either.

Carmel can be an expensive place to stay. We were pleased to find a decent priced hotel that was clean, within walking distance to shopping and even offered a free breakfast. Would stay here again if visiting the Carmel area.

It was shame we couldn't have stayed longer. We had two nights and three days in the beautiful town of Carmel by the Sea. We couldn't have asked for a better stay, right from the start it was perfect. The front desk staff were very accomodating and friendly as we had arrived early, and our room was ready within a couple of hours. Our room was clean, tidy and cleaned daily. Breakfast room was just a hop skip and a jump away with a great selection to get you ready for the day. Plenty of hotel extras including the balcony area, swimming pool and parking. WiFi worked great and you dont get charged to use the fridge (having just come from Vegas where you pay for anything and everything this was a blessing!) Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting, we shall be returning!

I stayed here for 3 weeks in February, and had a very pleasant stay. The staff are fabulous--helpful and pleasant all (don't hesitate to ask for restaurant recommendations--I got some great ones from the staff). The room was comfortable, and included a nice large closet and small fridge, which was helpful for my long stay. It is right in town, so walkable to everything, including the beach. There is a local bus (Monterey Salinas Transit) that stops in town and goes to Monterey and Pacific Grove, which I used as I did not have a car with me. There is also a laundromat a few blocks away, which I needed to use a couple of times. Highly recommended.

Super hotel and location to stay whilst in Carmel. Very convenient to all amenities within the town and a great central hub to explore the California coast and in deed further North to San Francisco. Staff were very friendly and professional. Highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in the king suite with the separation between the bedroom and the living space. The sofa bed wasn't very good; I had back discomfort by the day we left on our three night stay. The room is clean, and the king bed very comfortable. This hotel is located within walking distance to most places you will want to visit in Carmel By the Sea. It has parking as well as continental breakfast. The one drawback for our staying next to the room by the pool is that it was located next to the facility room where staff would go in and out to get supplies. This would happen during any time of day, which is something to keep in mind if you plan on taking naps in the afternoon.

Large all-in-one bathroom with spacious granite counter, large shower with good water spray. Has a sun deck with view of ocean. Good selection of breakfast items; room a little small and crowded. Quiet location in Carmel easy walk to main street, galleries & restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location in Carmel. The service is very good. The rooms are small but that works for a night. Breakfast is very basic och the breakfast room is small and gets crowded in the morning. 2nd floor room preferred.

This motel is located in Downtown Carmel within walking distance to local shopping, restaurants and beach. Most of the motels in this area have local charm. This one has been around for a long time. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Our stay was during the Easter Weekend and all amenities worked fine.

It is an older hotel but its location is great. They remodeled a few years ago--very nice. We have stayed here many times. We park our car for our stay and we can walk all over the center of the town. They have a special breakfast room and the selection is good--waffle machine, breads, yogurt etc. The price is extremely reasonable for Carmel. We will stay here on our next visit.

If you get the room that they advertised on the website and for what you paid, you may be lucky.If you stay many days , they will give you the not "so good rooms".Nobody wants to stay in these rooms: low light/dark rooms, near pool, noisy, smelly bathrooms, or difficult access. If you stay one-two days you will get probably better rooms , so the hotel will make a "better impression ". For this particular hotel , the website should specify for what room you pay: ground level, or room facing the pool, or second level "sunnier" room, etc. Otherwise you will get what the front office lady wants. And if they are " booked" , you do not have any chance to change the room. The difference between rooms is big : from OK to unpleasant. This hotel is outdated. Under the doors is a sufficient space for mice to get in your room. So be aware, do not "invite" them bringing food in your room!

Very convenient place to stay in Carmel. Very good value and great staff. Perfect for our golf trip to the Monterey area . Close to all courses, restaurants and shopping. A great stay with good service and quality for the price.

This is not a fancy hotel, but the price is good for Carmel. This is a hotel for people of the school of thought that a hotel is just a place to sleep, as long as it is clean. No great décor here. And a bit rundown. The shower knob came off but it was repaired immediately. But on the plus side: Great location. You can park your car and walk to all the stores and restaurants. Free basic breakfast of coffee, juices, fruits, yogurts, cereal, toast and boiled eggs. Staff is very friendly. There is free coffee/tea in the room and in the lobby. Rooms include refrigerator which is handy for keeping leftovers from restaurants. The larger room is the king suite by the pool. We had a separate sitting area with sofa bed, coffee table and chairs. It was nice to sit there in the morning and drink our coffee. I would return here to save money, so I can spend it on nice meals. However, should I win the lottery, I would stay at La Playa.

The hotel was an excellent place for our getaway. The rooms were clean and modern. The hotel is walking distance to just about everywhere. We even enjoyed the outdoor seating that they had. We got our breakfast (which was very good) and ate in the open air upstairs overlooking the views of the ocean. You will not be disappointed.

This place is definitely a must for easy location to the shops of Carmel and restaurants. The downside is no air conditioning only a ceiling fan. It's not spacious but clean. Carpeting is worn. Staff is friendly. There's a pool outside our room but heater is broke.

We were staying in Carmel to attend the AT&T golf tournament at Pebble Beach. We were very lucky to get this room sence pricing and availability get out of sight during this week. We have stayed at this property in the past because of it's fabulous location. It is always well-maintained, updated an very good value for Carmel. Will definitely be back.

We will not stay here again. No a/c. A small fan. The toilet flushed extremely loud, in fact too loud. We are platinum best western reward members and the breakfast here was very limited compared to other best westerns we've visited. I was good the front desk sales bottled water for a dollar.

Carmel is a beautiful town and this hotel is just superb. Better than your average Best Western. Carmel is a very affluent town with lots of high end shops and galleries. Decor is very nice and well maintained. Furnishings are of a high quality and the bed was enormous! Parking is good. Right in the heart of the town with lots of bars and restaurants nearby, there is a gas station nearby too. Breakfast room is of a good size and there was plenty of choices, they even had make your own waffles!! Internet was free and of a good speed, the only negative was a lack of decent cable channels... If you are staying in Carmel you would not be disappointed here.

We stayed in the rooms on the opposite side of the pool for two nights. These rooms had their own covered parking spaces. The rooms were clean, The pillows fluffy and the bed comfortable. the room was larger than may hotels we have stayed at. The price was in the range of affordability for Caramel. I drove my full size pickup. The parking spaces were very tight. Had the spaces around me been occupied I would not have had sufficient space for my truck to navigate into or out of the spaces. Should I choose to stay here again I would bring my smaller car.

If you want a solid, basic accommodation in Carmel, this property will be satisfactory. The price is reasonable, the place is clean, and the location two blocks north of Ocean Avenue is very convenient, though a good mile from the beach. The complimentary breakfast provided Danish, Belgian waffles, both good, as well as the usual toast/muffin/dry cereal, among other things. The breakfast room could be larger: It takes relatively few people to fill it up. Try to arrive at the hotel in daylight. The Carmelaise do not believe in street signs large enough to be read easily in the dark, and headlights are always coming at you. I was there in January, and the room was cold despite my attempts to adjust the thermostat and push buttons. Some directions about how to get heat would be useful. The guest guide said that if there was a problem with heat, you should contact the front desk, but there is no one there after 10PM . Overall: clean, decent place, reasonably good value, but could be better.

This hotel misrepresents its room sizes, pool availability, and overcharges. Then it claims incidentals without prior explanation, and threatens additional incidental charges if you disagree with the first one. It is certainly not suitable for families as things placed in the rooms can be all charged as incidentals at random made-up prices. The manager will come up with accusations of all kinds to keep the charges. If you don't want to end up fighting off random made-up charges, never give your credit card to this hotel.

Parking was horrible, somebody ran into my rental car while staying there. I didn't get to try the breakfast, I was there for business so the restaurant opened to late for the business world to enjoy, I had to asked for coffee for my room, And the items in the vending machine were stale.

This is a good hotel in a great location! The staff is very friendly and we walking distance to everything. Excellent and very reasonable for the area. Very clean and nicely decorated guest rooms. Parking is free and good breakfast

The room is very nice & clean. It may be a little small for some. I prefer the second floor. It was quiet & rate was exceptional. The location is great, close to everything. It was a nice break before Christmas. Now is the perfect time to visit Carmel by the Sea & Monterey to shop.

Excellent budget hotel conveniently located. It is not a 5 star hotel so expectations should be appropriate. Friendly staff .Walking distance from Ocean Avenue. Nice place if one needs a place to sleep.

Nice staff, great location, quiet but still downtown. Easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Building is old, but rooms have been redone and are very nice. We have been staying here for many years and it is getting better every year.

It's a relatively small property. We stayed in room 212 which had a beautiful view out to the ocean. The room is clean and beautiful. The bed is so comfy. The bathroom and shower were so clean and bright and spacious. The room included a nice big flat screen tv, a fridge, and parking. The room was so quiet! We slept GREAT! And the breakfast room in the morning is outside on the corner of the property, but it's a nice assortment of starches and yogurts. And, weather permitting, you can take your breakfast (or even dinner, for that matter) upstairs to the sundeck which has a very pretty view down to the ocean, plenty of tables and chairs and even a fireplace. The location is great for walking all around Carmel. And the staff that we worked with were so friendly and accommodating! We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I just stayed at the Best Western for four nights and had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I needed to print out some last minute business documents as well as send a fax and the manager helped me with all of it and was very gracious about it. I will definitely stay here again - great value!

Best Western's are always reliable and in places that are convenient to almost everywhere. a great go to brand Alwys a great value and very likely everywhere you want to be or close to it. We recommend this brand to all types of trips whether with others or on your own,

We come to Carmel twice a year and we stayed at BWCTH all the time. It is like our second home and like visiting relatives. All the staff knows us already and they are all smiles and very welcoming when we arrived at the hotel. JD is the BEST and our favorite hotel manager. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice breakfast area with many varieties of breakfast food. BWCTH is centrally located in Carmel and it is easy to walk around town and to the beach. We have seen a lot of improvements in the hotel through the years we have been coming to BWCTH. JD and Management: Please Keep up the Good Work.

Arrived in Carmel by the Sea without a reservation and decided to try the Best Western for availability. So glad we did. Lovely clean hotel and in a great location. Within walking distance of all restaurants and bars. Nice friendly staff and great value for money.

Rooms quiet, clean bed was great Bathroom large and well laid out. Great downtown location within waling to even the ocean. Wonderful service every time we stay. It is the only place we stay. Nice breakfast room .

This was our second stay at this Best Western. Once again we stayed in the annex ~ they honored our request as we had stayed there before. It is quiet with no one above or below you and has covered parking! The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is within a few blocks of Ocean Ave and literally hundreds of shops, restaurants, galleries, etc. Is it the fanciest or quaintest place in Carmel? Nope. But if you're looking for a nice place that is reasonably prices, this fits the bill.

Stayed two nights as part of our visit to the California coast. Location in town was perfect for our needs. We were able to walk to any place in the downtown area. Hotel staff were very helpful in recommending various places to eat depending on cuisine.

Nice place to stay difficult to park but close the beach and other retails. The rooms are small but for what you pay it's reasonable for the area. The breakfast kitchen was good I just the room location it seems you are in a fish bowl and everyone passing by wonders if they can come in to buy breakfast.

Modest accommodations, very clean with many room upgrades. Granite & stoned tiled bathrooms, comfortable bedding & a Samsung flat screen TV. A concealed refrigerator, in-room coffee maker and an in-room safe were pleasant amenities. Free parking, although limited. Centrally located & within walking distance to all the great shopping & dining. Free-wifi & free continental breakfast. Keurig coffee avail in the lobby until 10pm.

Stayed there in late Sept. Very nice room with 2 beds...great clean bathroom. good parking (unusual in Carmel). nice free breakfast of juice , coffee, rolls. Walking to everything. Great value for price. The Manager is very nice, & very helpful in tips on restaurants. Will stay there every time in Carmel !

This hotel was a wonderful choice for our family. Yes, it is an older building (as are most in Carmel), but the interior has been updated in a lovely way. We stayed in the family suite which has 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms - perfect for us!! The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute and clean hotel with easy access into town and convenient parking. Any point of interest in Carmel is only a short walk away. Make sure to check out the upstairs patio fire pit. Great place to enjoy a glass of wine overlooking Carmel!

Great room, big and comfortable. We were able to get covered parking and since we were on our motorcycle we did not have to cover it at night. The room was a little warm but there were two fans which made it perfect and comfortable. It was also very quite. A great selection at the continental breakfast in the morning

This Location Is beyond Great. The owner JD is Awesome and More than Helpful. The rooms are squeaky clean, the beds are so comfortable. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone that needs to stay in Carmel Gerie

We stayed here for 2nights during our 2week holiday in California. We paid more for a suite which gave us a larger room with a lounge area to put a travel cot so our baby had somewhere separate to sleep. The main room was large with a comfy bed. The bathroom was a little dated with a separate sink area. The room overlooked the pool so it didn't feel absolutely private later in the afternoon when the pool seemed popular but it was also very handy to nip in for a quick dip and back to the room! There was plenty of parking which meant we could leave the car and walk to explore the town - useful as Carmel is expensive to park, and has traffic jams even on a Sunday! Breakfast was taken in a small room on the corner of the building. It had the usual Best Western selection of breakfast cereals, toast, waffles etc. but the room was tiny, and more than about 6 people there was little space to sit. There were no highchairs available either which made feeding an 8month old interesting! We could have gone to the room/roof terrace to eat but that would have meant further visits back to the breakfast room which isn't practical with a little one. But despite these negatives it was a good Best Western, you know what you're getting! And remember to buy your aquarium tickets from the reception as it gives you 2days access at no extra cost!

We stayed here for one night during a road trip of California (visiting from Scotland.)There was a car show on nearby which meant all the hotels in Monteray and Carmel were either all sold out or way more expensive than they normally would be. However we managed to book here at a reasonable price and glad we did. The room was basic but comfortable and a decent size. Checking in was quick and easy with a well mannered lady on reception and plenty of parking.The breakfast was a waffles/cereal/fruit type affair which is what we were expecting and was fine. We didn't get a chance to use the pool so can't really comment on that other than to say it looked pleasant enough. The hotel is in a great location for walking round Carmel and we didn't notice any road noise from our room which was almost directly next to the road. All in all, we would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed as several Best Western during our trip and Best Western Carmel Townhouse was by far our favorite. I was absolutely awed by staff's excellent service. When you are traveling with young ones, it is always a challenge however staff was very accommodating. Rooms were modern and clean. Children had a blast in the pool area. Last but not least, breakfast was good enough to get us started for the day. Would highly recommend families traveling with children.

We have stayed at this hotel many, many times and we are always greeted with a smile as they recognize us coming through the door. The employee turnover is very low compared as I am able to recognize them during my visits and that tells you something. The entire staff are excellent! Look forward to our next visit.
