Checked out early this morning after our first and last stay at Best Western Plus or its affiliate brands. We were in town for a dance competition, I wasn't looking for anything fancy just somewhere clean and safe, the bar was on the floor and even so I'm shocked at the state of this place. On check in we were assigned to a room that had bodily fluid stains and short black hairs in the sheets. The sheets had clearly been pulled back up and tucked in despite being obviously soiled, just foul. There were also straw wrappers next to the bed on the floor. When I called downstairs we were directed to go back downstairs and get a new room. “Sorry about that guys” was the only comment, no real explanation. Our new room was also filthy, splatter stains on the bed skirt, stains on the lamps that worked, two in the room did not, stains on the chair, hair in the shower, filthy baseboards. The alarm clock is covered in a layer of dust. The hair dryer bag has dried ? Toothpaste on it. Who's to say. In the bathroom there was no hand soap or shampoo just the amenities shown below. We used the facial bar to wash our hands and called it a day as this time the bedding appeared to be clean. We were both so exhausted and could not wait to just get out if there, I wish I could say the night was better. They have some super sonic toilet flush that you can hear through the walls, the door slamming was intermittent through the night but startling. There is a bar out front and the parking lot early this morning (about 5am) was much more empty than it had been the night before presumably due to bar patrons parking there. I did not see any security on site. We did not venture to the pool or wander at all really, given the state of our room I didn't have any faith in the state of their pool. Super disappointing, the Hilton down the street actually had comparable prices surprisingly so we will not be making this mistake again. Please see attached photos only if your stomach can handle it

During my stay at this hotel a member of their team entered my room while I was away at a funeral. I had placed the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door expecting that my room would not be entered. A member of the maintenance team came into my room regardless and exchanged my air conditioning unit. The property did not notify me. They did not attempt to contact me via phone, email or any other method. Furthermore upon discovery of this, the property took a very cavalier attitude toward my experience and what felt like a violation as a female traveling alone for a funeral. It took 3 days to get on the phone with a decision maker at the property and when I asked for a refund for my stay, the best the manager would do is refund me one night. This was a nightmare situation, but customer service is defined by how you handle a mistake after it has been made, and I would have expected a full refund at the very minimum, but they refused to do that. It was highly disappointing and I therefore cannot recommend this as a good place to stay in this area.

I have stayed at this hotel many times when traveling in to Boston. It's located about 9 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital (on Fruit Street). The hotel is very convenient to I93. Easy on and off. There is a restaurant on site, Sam Walker's. It's definitely more economical to stay a little outside the city.

I was very well attended to by the hotel staff, the room was large and clean, the breakfast was very good, with several options. Well located, close to restaurants, bank and gas station. I recommend it with my eyes closed, it's really worth it and the daily price is very inviting.

Handicap accessible room does not have a shower seat. Be aware of this if you can't stand in a shower. Toilet has loud powerful flush. No microwave in the room. Comfortable bed, especially pillows. Ok for the price.

Pillow cases were yellow. Sheet had yellow stains. Bath tub was clogged so when showering you're standing in a puddle of water. Staff were nice ! Breakfast was okay ! Gym good for cardio no weights. Overall I wouldn't stay here again due to cleanliness because even after switching rooms still the same problem. Didn't even bother after 2nd room because staff were kind and didn't want to be that person.

Staff - The front desk manager (female) Shannon, lied to me! We didn't have our room cleaned for the three days we stayed (our choice). On the 3 day I requested a change of towels from a lady that was cleaning rooms, she didn't give us any wash rags. When my wife and I returned from site seeing we realized this was the case. I went to the front desk and talked to Shannon. She said they had NO wash clothes available. She didn't go check just said NONE WERE AVAILABLE. I ask to speak to the general manager (wasn't on site), Shannon said she would have him call me. Three days later still no call! I called corporate office for BW and they called the hotel and got the same message from Shannon. This lady should NOT be working with the public with her attitude. Facility - when we checked into the hotel I ask where the ice machine was. Was told that it was out of service. I find it very unusual that a hotel with 5 floors would only have one ice machine or that all of them were not in working order. On our last day they finally had one ice machine working. Room cleanliness - The bathroom floor had NOT been cleaned very well. There were long black hairs on the tile floor (my wife and I are both totally gray). The grout on the tub was not very clean or hadn't been cleaned in some time.

Perfect location for a getaway in Boston. Free parking and a great tavern on the site…all you need for you base camp to Boston and Cambridge area. About 10 minutes drive from main activités in Boston. The area is safe and convenient. Need a car to access Boston area though.

While we were out during the day, the manager decided to move our belongings without permission and to move us from our requested upper floor room to the ground floor. We were not told of the move until we tried to enter the room that night and our keys didn't work. We went to the front desk where, after some fiddling with the keys, we were told to try again. Still didn't work because the room had already been given to other people. We spent a sleepless night listening to employees talking to each other in the laundry and trying to sleep with the lights from the parking lot shining through the curtains. Had I known that we would end up on the first floor, I would have made my reservation at a different hotel. I t

Carpets were sticky, bathroom had cobwebs in corners & dust . The bathroom floor was not rinsed after washed, causing my moms bath towel to slip out from under her, she fell was taken to ER. Staff did not check on her.

we visited the hotel for 3 nights 5 days, we came back to the hotel the 2nd night after shopping and noticed our floors were damp? not sure from what but I went and told the manager Shannon, and she took care of it right away got us a new room the next night and moved all our luggage for us. We came back the next day to a new room luggage on our bed and a bag of goodies for the inconvenience . So thank you to her for going above and beyond to make the rest of our stay amazing. Very modern and up to date -- very personable and helpful people there. Amazed at how restful our overnight accomodations were and enjoyed a delicious breakfast - good dinner at the semi- attached restaurant also! A very easy place to locate and highly recommend it.

I reserved a room with two. Queen beds and got a room with one king bed. I complained and was told all double queen bed rooms were taken. The hair dryer only blew cool air. Not enough towels. Only one half roll of toilet paper. Desk clerk did not know how to give us directions from expressway. Didn't even know an exit number. Would never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone

I wish I could leave 6 stars! The hotel is spotlessly clean, the grounds are well kept and everything is neat and orderly. Robert checked us in and out, he was incredibly welcoming and very helpful! We stayed 2 nights and it was a wonderful experience. Our trip was to visit salem and the surrounding area, its a short drive there. The breakfast was hot and plentiful! Depending on the day there was scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon,sausage,toast,bagels,English muffins,pastries, muffins,cereals,waffles,fresh fruit,and so much more! The bed was a dream to sleep on,the linen was spotless and comfortable with 5 pillows on the bed! The towels were thick and so soft, and the shower had high pressure with fast hot water. The tv was a large flat screen. The room came with an iron,ironing board,hair dryer and fridge. Importantly, the pool was indeed heated and spacious! A nice touch was fresh clean towels hanging over the backs of the deck chairs! The lobby was huge with many sofa and chair groupings with lots of tables near the breakfast area. I thanked Robert for an outstanding stay and was able to also provide feedback to the manager who was very attentive to our comments. A truly top notch hotel with kind staff in a great location close to everything including a pool and kick *ss breakfast! What more could you ask for?

We stayed 2 nights with what seemed to be a decent room price compared to other hotel options. Then we saw why. The hotel was run down. Our room had a musty smell and a broken bathroom hook so there was nowhere to hang towels. The TV remote didn't work and they couldn't replace or fix it for us at night?! The breakfast was gross, including a coffee “vending machine” instead of brewed coffee. Definitely not Best Western Plus caliber.

The first night I checked in late. When I got to my room my teen immediately fell asleep, but I noticed there was SOMEONE ELSE'S HAIR in my shower and our entire floor reeked of cigarette smoke. The front desk worker offered to change our rooms, but since my child was already sleeping, I agreed to have that done in the morning. First thing in the morning we were moved to another floor and room, but upon entering realized that someone else had just left and it was not clean: the bed was mussed and there were towels all over the bathroom floor. The front desk gave me yet a third set of keys for another room where I had barely enough time to get ready and get to an appointment. In that third room there were more hairs in the shower from someone else!!! I finally told the front desk worker that I wanted Clorox wipes and I would clean the darn place myself. Which I did upon returning from a full day out. That night, seemingly settled after cleaning the place MYSELF, we settled into bed and cigarette smoke once again filled the hall and our room. I had to use my inhaler constantly the entire time I was there. The next day I decided I would take the privacy sign off our door and let housekeeping attempt to clean. When we got back from another full day out: our room had not been touched. The front desk workers were WELL AWARE of all of this and no one offered to contact a manager, give me a discount, etc. In fact, I was given a card with a general email address on it and told to email the manager myself.

The location was conveniently located. The pool was open but we were told that the heating element was not working so we did not use it. Breakfast was nice. In the evening when we were going to bed we did experience an uninvited guest ( a very large bug) if our children were not with us it would not have been a big deal but girls will be girls we were on bug watch all night.

We recently spent a night at this hotel. We arrived in the early evening for check in and were greeted by two newer employees (Keith and another co worker) who couldn't have been nicer. The lobby area was somewhat busy and they kept a positive attitude and things moving along. We had some Best Western gift cards we were trying to use and they ran into a glitch of some kind that Keith indicated the hotel manager would be able to fix when she arrives in the morning. The lobby area was clean and well lit. Our room was clean and the heat worked well and was quiet. The bathroom was clean and the bedding and bed was also very clean and comfortable. We woke up to a hot shower and went down to their continental breakfast which was kept very clean. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold and there was a nice variety of food options to choose from including eggs, sausage, pancakes, breads, cereals, fruit, juice, coffee, etc. After breakfast we stopped at the front desk and met Tanya, who was the hotel manager. She couldn't have been nicer and was able to happily assist us with applying our BW gift cards towards our stay. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again! It was nice to see staff trying so hard to please the hotel guests. Keep up the great work!

Let's say the positive; friendly staff, good sized rooms with cute little reading chairs, on a road that was convenient to get pretty much everywhere. We went to Salem. We didn't try the breakfast so cant say much but there was tavern right in front of the hotel that is a LOUD sports bar but good food. The hotel is surrounded by places to eat. And we had a small problem with the room that they were quick to solve. I got all the coffee I wanted and all the basket liners I needed. And alot of pillows! That said, the place showed some age. The pool was being renovated, and surprisingly the walls were a tad thin. I had an app on my phone that makes white noise sounds. That solved the slight schedule differences amongst all the travelers. My room was clean, my daughter's had some needs as far as cleanliness but as previously stated, they got them a new room immediately. I like best westerns. This one was typical of them all. I have to add the room space I had again because it was great. Most hotels you shuffle around too much furniture. I would definitely stay here again if we ever go to Salem again.

I drove from VA to Mass and broke down in New York City. I didn't have enough money to cover the entire stay until the next day. Robert, the amazing gentleman at the front desk allowed me to pay for 1 night then pay the balance the next day when I got paid. I couldnt have appreciated it more after out long trip. Will definitely recommend this hotel and thanks again Robert, you went above and beyond!!.

Since the hotels in Boston were prohibitively expensive on the day that we visited the city, this was a great location right off I-93 that wasn't too far from the city (the actual time depending on the traffic). The rooms were quiet and clean (though there was still a bit of trash from the previous occupant in the room). Surprisingly quiet as well (except for the person who incessantly knocked on one of the other rooms in the hallway early in the morning, which was a bit annoying). Skipped the free breakfast since there are some affordable and great options within walking distance. All in all, a great place to stay if you're looking for convenience.

The staff is friendly, the rooms are large, lean, and comfortable. There is a Sam's Tavern next door…very nice place! The breakfast was very good….we especially liked the spicy omelets. There could be a wait for coffee….wish they had two machines. Would for sure stay here again.

Wonderful clean comfortable . Easy drive to Boston/ Cape cod. Restaurant/ bar very good food . Hot free breakfast in hotel are ok . Hash browns , omelets, pancakes, sausage , cereal, bagels, juice and fruit. Only issue is that the pool was closed.

Sleep regularly disrupted by the banging of doors until late at night and starting up again at 05.30. The doors do not have ‘soft closers', so every time anyone enters or leaves a room the door closes with a loud bang. The breakfast was very basic and certainly not the ‘full breakfast' described when booking.

If it wasn't for the rudeness that I was treated with by the manager, I would give this hotel a much higher rate. I was told upon checking that breakfast was going to be served until 10 AM. When I arrived for breakfast at 8:55, almost everything was empty and things were starting to be cleaned up. When I inquired, I was told that breakfast ended at 9 AM, which was inconsistent with what I was told when I checked in. When I asked the manager about this, she basically laughed at me and told me that I can have a bagel if I was really that hungry. Not being able to get breakfast at the hotel set my day back enough. The rudeness and complete lack of customer service skills and unwillingness to do anything at all about their error is what will prevent me EVER staying here again, as well as reconsidering Best Western as a brand. I'm thoroughly disgusted.

Arrived to find that the air conditioning was broken. Staff knew for three days however we were not notified. Fan provided however window screen had a huge hole. Warm,uncomfortable night. Internet was not good, weak signal and frequent disconnections. Breakfast was minimal and few healthy options. Front desk staff was welcoming and friendly.

The hotel appears to be recently renovated. They could have changed the carpet. Breakfast was great with hot breakfast of omelette, eggs, sausage, potatoes, oat meal, and touchless pancake maker. They had muffins, bagel yogurt as well. The indoor pool was cold so kids didnt enjoy that first day and did not want to go in again as we stayed 3 nights. That was one of the reason we booked this hotel. There is also no microwave but theres a shared one at the breakfast area we could use so that was not so bad. We were able to take an express bus at the bus stop just across the street to downtown Boston which was convenience. We didnt have to worry about traffic and finding parking which is like $40 in downtown.

Shower on Sat AM was cold water. That was bad enough but when I reported this at check out time, I was told that when the hotel is heavily booked, they often run out of hot water. It's bad enough that we had to experience this, but what makes it worse is that the hotel apparently is aware of the issue but won't get it fixed. Too bad because everything else was very nice.

Easy check in, friendly staff, clean facilities. I checked out early for a flight so I did not get to enjoy breakfast and I did not have time to swim but they did have a pool. Right off the interstate for easy access and tucked back a bit making for a quite spot. There is also a restaurant on site or many other food options nearby.

Friday night so busy between hotel and Sam Walker restaurant but room was quiet enough. Friendly staff. Smooth check-in. Renovated/newer rooms making it more comfortable stay. Everything seemed newer including elevator/halls/lobby so the vibe was solid not dingy. Larger and newer tvs and fridge would be nice (would also round off a fairly newly renovated hotel nicely but that's just nit-picking) both worked fine. Beds comfortable. Lights were bright and had plenty of outlets (hate hotels with tons of lights on yet still feels dark) nice bathrooms with glass showers. the built in hvac unit wasn't loud and gave a consistent output and I think also newer unit. (Good to know for summer). Overall Clean. Again, solid stay, not luxury (most BW aren't) but dependable and consistent which BW's always should be! Used a reward night but I would pay $90-$100 during week and $120-$130 on weekends at this hotel without feeling disappointed or ripped off.

Overall I was quite satisfied with my stay. Next time I will call ahead to make sure all services were available. On the website it stated the pool and fitness center were closed due to COVID when they were actually opened. I would have used the fitness center so I was a little bummed when I found out it was open. I just wasn't prepared.

Very comfortable spacious room. Very pleased with how clean everything was. The pool was nice and the hot breakfast was excellent. Love that cool pancake machine! The only thing I would recommend is to slightly decrease the pressure on the shower. We had a hard time preventing it from spraying everywhere. I stayed on two different occasions at this hotel. The first stay was ok. On the second stay, I checked in by the same front desk clerk with a weird hairdo. When I entered my room, I found one of the drawers could not close and the room is near the highway with lots of noise. I asked him to switch to a different room. He mocked at my request with the comment "how is that going to be important?" This is covid time. Your hotel has lots of empty rooms and easy to switch to a different one. I do not appreciate front desk's attitude.

Absolute total nightmare. Hotel systems were down and we could not check in Because they, “did not know which rooms were empty”, and we had to wait in the lobby for 4 hours. Hotel staff offered little to zero explanations on how they were fixing the situation for us. We always had to be the ones to get up and go ask what the status update was. The guy at the front desk even found some time to order himself dominoes while we are stranded in the lobby. We were very patient/polite the first two hours but once it started to push three we asked for the managers (Peggy) phone number which we called multiple times and then she FINALLY calls the front desk. Mind you while all this is happening, six other customers came and went and we're all told the same thing “you cannot check in.” Now it's pushing 4 hours and one couple who left for two hours came back, started being extremely belligerent to the front desk and screaming and magically three rooms opened up… we went to bed around 4 AM and got out of there around 1030 and low and behold the manager, Peggy is sitting at the front desk. We ask her what the process will be to get a refund because of the situation and she said that there's nothing that she can do because we booked with a 3rd party (already opened a claim). She offered absolutely no apology to the entire situation and could only say “there's nothing I can do”. We asked her why she wasn't present during the situation since she's a manager and all she could say was “I live an hour away“ but meanwhile we were stranded in her lobby lobby for 4 hours. not one time was there ever an apology out of her mouth. We also paid for continental breakfast which was not present in the lobby either. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this place. UPDATE: After the manager, Peggy, told me to contact Hotels.com to get my refund, she denied us getting refunded TWICE. I now have an open claim with Corporate because the manager is claiming that she told us we given the option to cancel the hotel room which is an ABSOLUTE lie since she wasn't on site while all this was happening and told them we were only charged$160 when we paid $376 for 2 queen rooms. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

On the surface and quick view the place looks well kept. First thing was the road side sign was not lit and is set to far back making it difficult to see. When we checked in the staff was rude and short with me. They informed us that due to Covid that rooms were not serviced and if we needed anything to ask at the front desk. Ok that's fine but to have very minimal TP on the roll and then having to go down and ask for a roll is ridiculous. The bathroom is smallish and doesn't have much space for daily HBA supplies. The tub was very slippery and had no traction strips. Thankfully there was a bar that I was able to grab to keep me from falling. The room itself was not bad but could use more lighting. The beds were very hard. The phone looked like a child with filthy hands was playing with it. I wouldn't have even noticed if I wasn't moving it into the drawer to get it out of the way so there was space on the one bedside table. The pool area could use some attention. There were flickering lights. The tile area of the actual pool really needs a good cleaning and the restrooms smelled like urine. The breakfast area was clean and well kept. Lastly was most employees were not wearing masks which is required for them based on the sign at the front desk. I would not recommend this location.

Hotel was clean. Everyone I encountered was nice and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Easy commute to Salem and Boston. We didn't get to enjoy the indoor pool but several families were. I would definitely stay there again

The doors in the hotel lack a proper closure so from about 6am until after 9am all we could hear were the doors slamming shut around us. Shower was cold and would not give hot water and TV did not work. Pool was nice and my kiddo loved that.

Cold and mean front desk. the attitude she used to carry her service makes you think you are absolutely at a wrong place. I am so glad this was just a short stay. I believe this probably is the first time I gave anyone a one star. Breakfast barely has anything. Everything's cold there, food and people.

I don't want to type it again since I already filed complaint through best western's survey. Will never stay there again. They are doing remodeling but no matter how beautiful they decorate the hotel, the people is cold and mean, which turns customers away.

decent property, right next to the interstate that looks partially abandoned on a dead end street. Lodging was fairly nice, a few improvements to the bathroom plumbing and some alertness regarding the check in experience might make this a better choice for lodging. If any review would say good things about this hotel, then in my opinion, they must be people that work there. We had bad experience. Smelly and unusual odors everywhere across the building. When I complained about smelly elevators, they blamed it on customer. When I complained about odor all across the floors, the manager then blamed it on customer. She said quoting”this state allows smoking weed, it must be customers smoking weed. Broken fitness center, construction in and of parking which makes driving in and out unsafe. Our rooms kept smelling uncontrollably. The toilet exhaust fan was not working on both rooms. When I complained about it, the manager said that it is working and refused to send out a technician. The next day, i forced them to send out a technician to check the exhaust fans. It is a building violation code if exhaust fan is defective. Anyways, technician finally came and determined that it was broken all across the building. They fixed finally fixed it. No thank you, apology or discount given

Check in went smoothly. Room was clean and fridge worked. We had use of the pool which was very nice. Beds were comfortable. Considering Covid, breakfast was decent and we had use of the microwave. Staff was excellent.

Made reservation for adjoining rooms due to special needs child. Called two weeks before and morning of, told all was set. Arrived to find we were down the hall from each other. Staff was rude. Breakfast was usual covid pickup but they had no bags or trays to get breakfast for four back to the rooms. No battery in smoke detector of one room. Peeling paint in bathroom of the other.

I had NO HOT WATER!! I even went to 2 other rooms with staff to check there water and it just got worse in each room! I don't understand why no else didn't complain! My shower was Luke warm! By the time I shampooed and conditioned my hair and rinsed the water was cold on my head! Ok Also sheets and pillowcases were dingy white, really old stained and not white at all!!

Felt like I was staying in a run down motel. The toilet worked but barely worked. The paint chipping off the ceiling and things like toilet paper holder falling out of the wall. Its been getting worse over the last year. I'm willing to give this hotel another shot but if it is the same or any worse ill be taking my business else where.

Stayed here because prices in Salem are too high this time of year. We stayed two nights, and never had hot water. As we're packing to leave, we're checking to make sure we didn't forget anything and find this inside the night stand drawer. I understand we should have checked initially, but seriously? Do better. Disgusting. 2 stars since the people at front desk were friendly enough, but I wouldn't recommend a stay. Would've stayed at a seedy motel with these expectations

First visit was quite enjoyable. Free g Did not have time for the heated indoor pool but saw many quests in it, Great breakfasts every morning. Very helpful staff (i.e., getting boarding passes at our departure.) Will return the next time I am in the Boston area. Great access to both I-93 and I-95. Very good Italian restaurant very near the hotel (we walked to it on several occasions).

I am new to this area. Saw a decent deal and thought it would be nice to explore the area. At check in, Javier and Tina were wonderful. They were friendly and welcoming. Same evening, I received a phone call in my room from a man claiming to be GM and that computer system is down. They needed to input my credit card again but will not be charging me. I declined to give card over the phone and said I will go downstairs to do this in person. Next morning I informed Peggy the GM and she said they did not call me that it was a scam. She said this was normal and that everyone knows about this on the news. I told her I am from out of town and that this is disturbing to know I could have been giving out my cc to the wrong person. I suggested to her to share this info with her other guests so they don't get scam easily. She did not like the idea and refused saying that is not their duty nor they are liable because someone called from outside into our room so they have no control over it. With this type of service I will be careful and not to stay in a place where management is not protecting me when they are aware of a bad situation. Finally, there was a silver lining.; breakfast was included and room is comfortable and clean. I enjoyed my banana,blueberries, and orange. All the hot items looked processed. I am not a fan of liquid eggs. Bed was comfortable. It was tough how to rate my satisfaction but I kept asking myself how much stars is worth my sense of security. The person did not call on my second night stay so did they knew how many nights I stayed or was this a fluke?

We opted to stay in Woburn while visiting our son who studies at Tufts. The hotel room is comfortable, remodeled and incl. breakfast and just a 10 minutes drive to the campus, not far from restaurants in Somerville and close enough to Downtown Boston. Too bad there is no restaurant onsite, which would make it more convenient. A downside are the thin walls, for sensitive sleepers it can be disruptive when people are roaming the hallway.

Our experience was good overall. On arrival our 5 th floor hallway and bedroom was overwhelming with the smell of marijuana. New room was assigned. Thankfully! We would have had to check out and we had already paid. Quickly resolved though and our stay was good Convenient location to everything Boston and area has to offer. Breakfast very good and staff exceptional. Wish I had got his name. Homemade pound cake was ‘home'! Would stay again, even though the first room was marijuana smoke filled!

upon arriving to this location we found out that the pool was closed and they were unable to do anything about it despite saying that they would, they stated that they would call us numerous times to let us know if the repair the pool is going to be delayed due to a temperature issue. There are numerous other guests who are upset as well. The heating system did not work and the room was absolutely freezingand nothing was done about this, the internet connection was absolutely abhorrent as well and we were unable to utilize the internet. They cost us nearly $150 to stay that night and they only refunded $20. Knowing full well that my partner and I would not have stayed the night if the hotel pool wasn't working, I feel scammed, I did not get the services that I paid for. And overall it was an awful experience I will never be staying at this location again.

We stayed in this hotel this past Saturday as we needed to stay somewhere just outside Salem as we traveled back to NYC. I picked the hotel based on what I read and how things were priced around the area. The hotel is quite standard for a general night's sleep but there were some things I would improve for next time. 1) We arrived quite late and we were given a room that had evidently been worked on prior to our arrival. The fire alarm was off the wall, there was dust from sanding/drilling in the front area of the room, and the door to the room was ajar when we arrived. This was extremely unsettling for us we turned on all the lights and looked everywhere to make sure there was no one in the room waiting for us. We also did tests to make sure that when we closed the door is actually locked. This made for a slightly stressful sleep, we would have notified the front desk but we didn't want to spend extra time changing rooms because we had such an early start the next morning. 2) The walls in this hotel are very thin, there was some type of party happening at 3 am in the hallway and we heard people screaming and yelling for a good 45 minutes. In the morning we found fake eyelashes strewn in the elevator. The front desk was apologetic when we told them about the room on the way out, but in general, I didn't feel secure here because of the fact that the door was open going into the room.

I've stayed at Best Western hotels in the past so I thought I knew what to expect. I can honestly say this hotel far exceeded my expectations! The common areas (lobby, breakfast area, etc) were very clean and appeared to have been remodeled fairly recently. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds. The room was clean and was a decent size. There was a freestanding closet, a small refrigerator, dresser with a good sized tv, desk/desk chair and another chair with a foot stool, and the two of us still had plenty of room to move around. The furniture all looked newer and well maintained and the beds were pretty comfortable. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom and an iron and small ironing board in the closet. I do wish there had been a microwave. The cable selection was ok-pretty similar to most places I've stayed. There were a ton of outlets that were easily accessible for charging electronics and there were even two USB ports by the nightstand. Each bed had a small reading lamp on both sides that you could adjust the height of to read in bed without disturbing everyone else in the room. So overall a lot of thoughtful touches in the room design. The staff was super friendly. Honestly, one of my best travel experiences in terms of staff interaction. Location in relation to Boston is great, although the entrance to the parking lot is just before a traffic light and right where 2 lanes merge into one, so it can be a little tricky turning left out of the lot during peak traffic times (this wouldn't deter me from staying here again). The free breakfast was fantastic! A ton of variety including scrambled eggs and mini omlettes, potatoes, sausage, onion and pepper mixture, assorted muffins/pastries, yogurts, fresh fruit, cereal and a waffle station. There was even an assortment of gluten-free breads. Again a lot of the small touches with breakfast including various toppings for the eggs, yogurt and waffles. The area around the hotel seemed ok and the parking lot was pretty well lit. I felt pretty safe coming and going. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Personally I like to take super hot showers and that really wasn't an option. The water in the shower got lukewarm at best. And similarly, the heated pool wasn't very warm. When you flush the toilet it is ridiculously loud. (We joked that we thought we were going to be sucked out of the room because it was so loud. Lol.) The heater in our room was a little finicky, there were a couple times the room temperature read lower than the temperature we set it to (by 2-3°) and the heater didn't kick on. We adjusted the temp and got it warmed up so really only a minor issue. Overall, it was a great experience! I would absolutely stay here again if I'm visiting the Boston area.

We stayed here one night while visiting Weston, Concord and friends in Medford. Easy check in and check out, very clean room and reception area. The breakfast would have been very convenient but instead, we were disappointed. The advertised time was 6:30am-10am but by 9am there was very little food and no coffee, with many people waiting. No refills arrived and, needing to get on with our day, we checked out early and went out for breakfast. This was a change from my usual Hampton Inn choice, but I will probably return to Hampton: never disappointed by the cleanliness or the breakfasts.

Quick check in & check out, great location, not too many homeless people around. Staff is really nice, & welcoming. Rooms were a little small & the restrooms but still a great place for a 2 night stay. Boston is 20 mins away & Salem is about 40 mins with traffic.

Really enjoyable staff, funny and helpful. Loved the humor and good spirits. I often whistle a particular tune to help my husband locate me. I found the return call coming from a staff member. We had a great laugh together and then he whistled for my husband when he came down to breakfast. I think several other breakfast folk also enjoyed the fun.

My wife and I are BW rewards members and have stayed in many Bestwestern hotels and I have to say this is never up-to Bestwestern PLUS standard. The hotel is convenient for Boston and the surrounding area and has plenty of parking. The staff and their attitude were just about passable, the rooms were nice and the beds comfortable. Breakfast as many other reviews have mentioned was a bit of a joke, very hit and miss. As mentioned by other reviews watch your bill on checkout, as I write this review I have a £24 Sum pending on my CC bill for what I'm unsure because our bill was settled before we left. The hotel has plenty of choices around it (within ten minutes drive) of restaurants, shopping etc, but maybe you could find a better hotel for your Dollar.

I was dismayed to find that there are few to no hotels in or near Boston for under USD $250 a night, and I'm a pretty seasoned discount travel finder. I ended up staying at the New Englander because my husband had enough points for 1 free night. I'm so glad I did! This is in no way a fancy hotel, so don't expect bells and whistles, but it has everything that matters in a hotel: clean rooms, very comfortable beds, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, free breakfast (not outstanding but fine, with lots of options so you will def find the right thing for you; such a big money and time-saver!); really nice free toiletries; free WIFI, nice TV; nice pool; free parking; rooms relatively well-insulated from outside noise (we did hear the group yelling to each other in the halls at 7 am but what can you do about that? The kid talking on the phone literally right outside our door could not be heard at all from inside our room). They have hit the nail on the head when it comes to value for money. It's a bit outside the city. It took us about 20 min to drive in, and I couldn't find a really convenient public transport option, so you have to factor that in. But that's the only downside I could see. A couple of nice restaurants nearby too (walking distance). I will definitely come here on my next trip to Boston. I stayed 2 nights. One night was free with points, and the second was only $190 CDN, about $145 USD. That included all taxes and fees. I consider that an absolute steal for the level of comfort with hotel offers.

Staff very nice and have no complaints with them. My wife and I have stayed at many Best Western's over the years. This was probably the worst. Many people on the property who gave me the creeps. Please note I am a blue collar guy from Chicago and I am very street smart. Does this hotel have a contract to house various misfortunes from social services? Very sorry to have to write such a review. My wife and I have had great experiences with Best Western over the years.. I see it as only fair to warn travelers of this location.

Stayed 2 nights, completely satisfied with this hotel. It was conveniently located right off of route 93, but the room was very quiet. The room was very clean and had everything I needed. The breakfast Buffett had plenty to choose from, and the dark roast coffee was particularly good. The restaurant in front of the hotel is closed, but across the street is a Bickford, and Polcari's. Polcari's was excellent. I didn't use the indoor pool, but it was a good size and looked nice. Plenty of free parking. Staff friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Do NOT stay here. Not safe!! Lack of security! I was given keys to an already occupied room!! We recently traveled in this area and booked a room for one night. I was given two access cards to a room. When I unlocked the door, there were several pieces of luggage and clothing lying around the room!! I quickly backed out, closed the door and returned to the deskaa. I was absolutely shocked and horrified that someone could so easily be given access to another person's occupied room!! I'm thankful nobody was in the room at that time. Otherwise, the result could have been fatal had I startled someone walking in on them!! Not only are there major security issues, but also lack of cleanliness & many items need repair. Ice machine wasn't working, water damage on bathroom ceiling, dirty carpets with stains and most disgusting was finding hair on the beds, sink, & shower! I sent a lengthy email to the hotel outlining all of these issues and got back a cut and paste email, accepting no responsibility for any issues and asking that I stay again (never! Not when my safety is placed at risk through their carelessness.) If you value your safety, I would not recommend this hotel.

We were going to the Boston area for some personal business and needed a room for just one night. The Best Western Plus was clean, comfortable and Reasonably priced. The beds are extremely comfortable; the rooms are clean and the shower works great. Also nice TV in room. We also enjoyed the free breakfast which included eggs, bacon, sausage and waffles. Although we didn't use it, they also have a beautiful pool.

I booked a functions room at this place on July 20th. My contract stated that they would deduct the payment on the day of the event. I even called the Sales Manager, her name is Tina the day before to go through all the drills. i even mentioned to her that I would probably switch my credit cards on the day, depending o the balances I had. She assured me that it was all in order and guess what? Same day after our conversation she went ahead and deducted money from my account, a day before the function. When I tried to contact her to explain why, she was rude about it and insisted that "shed thought I had enough money on my card". Second thing the ac in the room we were given was not working. The staff on duty kept coming to check on it and he told us that it was not functioning. He is the same guy who advised us to contact the manager Peggy on Monday to file a complaint. I am even sorry I contacted Peggy. She was defensive about the whole thing. She was not responsible for the payment issue and I had with Sales and as far as she was concerned, their ac was working normal. I left several messages for Peggy to call me but she never does. I tried to get their corporate office but did not get much help because they keep saying the hotels are individually owned and there is not much they can do. I guess because they had already collected money from me, they could not care less. But they should be rest assured they lost a good customer and they will lose some more with that kind of attitude. You don't take people for granted just because you have their credit card information. Shame on you!

This was our final hotel of our two-week stay throughout the Boston area and trip through New York, Vermont and Maine. Had good luck staying at Best Westerns, plus was able to use the $20 gift card offered as a promotion for staying at other Best Westerns on our trip. Price of the hotel room was more than I thought I should spend, but it wasn't too far from the airport (20+ minutes taking non-toll roads).

Hotel Amenities are nice, Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is reasonable. Boston subway station is about 4 to 5 miles. hotel is right near the freeway. We found hotel good for families. Beds(Mattresses) could be a bit better though. We found them too plush.

The rooms were very nice and clean. Front desk was friendly and helpful. The “heated” pool was quite chilly, but was clean and the pool room was comfortable. Breakfast area has limited seating and was very crowded. Great price for a Boston trip if you don't want to pay for in city pricing. Grab lunch or dinner at Bickford's across the street (could walk) for reasonable prices and great food.

This hotel is a good bargain if you are visiting the area. We stayed here for our recent trip to Salem and saved a lot by not staying in Salem/Peabody. The hotel room is quite large and includes a small fridge with a tiny freezer which was great and allowed us to refreeze our ice pack for the cooler. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of places to charge your devices. Breakfast was adequate but not great. They seemed a bit understaffed as both mornings we ate breakfast there were things that needed restocking and you had to find a staff person as there didn't seem to be anyone assigned to that area. The coffee was terrible. It came out way too hot at first and then was lacking in flavor. I was not a big fan of the lighting in the room. None of the lamps provided natural, soft light which would be better at least at the bedside table. The bathroom is pretty small with a stall shower. There was not a lot of space for keeping toiletries and makeup by the sink and there is not good light or mirror to take care of hair or makeup outside the bathroom. The hotel is in a great location as far as getting around the area. About an hour from Providence, RI and only 25-30 minutes from Salem, our main destination for this trip. It's right off the highway but quiet. The left turn out of the lot back to the highway could be difficult. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There is a pool but we never got a chance to use it, wished they kept it open until 11. Overall, this is a good place for a multi-day stay to the area.

Recently renovated this hotel i has friendly staff, a decent breakfast and a beautiful pool and gym. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. They have organic toiletries made from grapefruit and camomile. Walk around the corner to Dunkin Donuts, Bickfords and a pizza place across the street. A quiet, safe neighborhood. .

When I checked in to this hotel, back in November of 2018, the clerk had to enter my rate manually, and mistakenly put the total amount of the stay as the daily rate. This resulted in me being charged significantly more than the highest rack rate that the hotel generally charges. When I checked out, I asked for a receipt, and they said that it would be emailed to me, which it never was. So I was not aware of the overcharge (of several hundred dollars) until I checked my credit card transactions. The reservations person figured out what had happened and said I would have to speak with the manager who was not very responsive. So, I disputed the transaction with my credit card company, thinking that this would be an easier/faster way to reach resolution. The hotel disagreed with my dispute, and as proof, they sent somebody else's receipt that had nothing to do with me or my stay. The credit card company mistakenly closed the dispute in favor of the hotel, but after reviewing the hotel's response more carefully, they have agreed to re-open the dispute. It is now May, 2019, and this overcharge remains unresolved. I will be coming to the area again for business, but I would not consider staying at this hotel again-- it's not worth the hassle and the amount of time I have had to put towards correcting their mistake. Best Western should be ashamed of themselves for treating customers this way.

I agree that this hotel is much better than some of the hotels closer to downtown Boston. Clean rooms with fridge. Spacious and free parking. Good breakfast with waffles – kids loved them. Friendly and helpful staff. Only if other travelers would be considerable especially at midnight to others, that would be great. But …I guess there is always someone noisy and loud.

My stay started off with Aras ( I hope I spelled his name correctly)- He is genuinely friendly and his interaction was genuine. Made the say WAY better already... even though we were in the middle of the Boston Marathon. THEN- my 9 yr old daughter had an accident in the bed. It happens, but when I caught the housekeeping staff, she only spoke Spanish. My BF speaks it so he communicated with her for us (and another guest) and she assured him she would rake care of our room. She absolutely did. Not only that but the pool was operational and clean. The room was clean and up to date. The shore was awesome. We will DEF be booking BWP again... I can assure you that!

My husband and i stayed for the weekend for a friends birthday in the area. Staff desk person Aras is his name was extremely friendly and helpful.He was being pulled in many directions and seemed to be taking on alot of tasks. Great guy! Hotel was very clean. Rooms spacious with comfy beds and no bathtub, shower water was always hot, no microwave in room but room does have a fridge.They do need security or someone monitoring halls because we had a horrible stay there was a large group of cheerleaders staying in the hotel but from what we noticed the adults and children were slamming doors and running through hall ways being loud all through out both nights and early mornings. The slamming of the doors literally every minute was torture and we left the hotel unrested and so tired.The pool was very nice and heated but after swimming the first day we were locked out of our room and cold and wet and had to walk back downstairs to have key reactivated we were told that one of the staff instead of going through the guest list deactivated all guest keys. Breakfast had alot of choices such as eggs, sausage, waffles, various breads etc. But, the juice machine was awful. All of the juices were water especially the apple juice it was water! Apparently they didnt add the concentrate or not enough.They didnt have any regular tea only herbal but had hot chocolate and coffee.waxy oconnors pub and grille is connected to hotel and has great food !

Stayed here for 2-nights with my 9 year old twin sons and my 5 year old grandson. They loved it, the pool especially. It was clean and warm. I would suggest making sure towels stay stacked during evening hours. I didn't get a fancy room because Groupon only had one option at the time of my booking. It was a standard room but clean and just enough room for the four of us. Location is very easy to get to. Not to mention that it is close to basically anything you have in mind to do. I was greeted with a smile and checked out with one as well by the same gentleman at the front desk named Aras. He was very customer service oriented as well as knowledgeable. Thank you Aras for treating me and my children with respect and making us feel welcomed. We didn't have a chance to try out the continental breakfast but it is included so you know. Plenty of parking. Try Waxy O'Connor's for food which is conveniently a walk through the hotel lobby.

read all the reviews , i did not the fire alarm is defective. The reviews go back 7 months with alarms going off at night. Yup 2 times in 1 night before an early business meeting. Room was clean enough. But barely luke warm water in shower. I let it run and run barely warm. It was also barely warm at 6am. People where at desk also asking why pool was cold they where told water and room where to cold. I also had to drag a pull suitcase through snow it snowed 36 hours before! I drive an F350 and had to 4x4 to get into a spot. No plowing or walkway shoveling was done.

We stayed one night and the hotel is nice looking. They ran out of towels and gave us bath mats instead. The TV would not change channels or volume and the only option was to change rooms at 10:30PM when our 5 year old was already settled in bed. The breakfast ran out of eggs and potatoes with over an hour left till breakfast ended. Nice looking but would never stay again.

As an Architect my reviews tend to focus a bit more on conditions and decor. We travel to this area frequently and I like to stay at a variety of hotels. This hotel was conveniently located and the price was reasonable. The lobby was bright and welcoming. The room was clean and nicely appointed and I always enjoy having a lounge chair, which was in like-new condition. The built in closet was a nice convenient feature also. The Bathroom seemed fresh with light colored stone top and lighted mirror. The only glitch was the hallway carpet, which was a somber color and odd pattern. And please, install stone tiles in the elevators. Overall nice! Good job.

I was traveling with 3 other colleagues. All four of us had reserved rooms at the hotel through our company (four rooms total). Two of the rooms were given away despite the reservations. We were simply told that the rooms were given away and there was nothing they could do. It was about 9:45 PM when we got to the hotel. It is unbelievable that the rooms could be given away despite reservations.

I was disappointed. Checked in and I was questioned if I was a rewards member. I am and have been for years but why would someone question that. Also I rechecked with the 800# and they said it was stated in the computer on my reservation. Going on to say that person did not take the time to read it. Stayed three nights, manager of hotel passed me many times,he could not even look at me just so detached from what I feel a manager should be. Everyone was always speaking Spanish very suprised that they did not think this was rude. Some of this hotel was updated. Big problem, they should have updated the hotel room doors. They were clean looking but did not fit the frame properly. All night look you could hear the other hotel doors slamming shut. It just kept waking me up. It just was not a good night sleep any of the nights I stayed. It is close to Boston. However the hotel staff gave us the stops for public transportation. When asked a question they couldn't answer because they said 'I've never taken it.' There is a new person on staff. Just annoying when he was on. Anything you ask of him he would say I'm not from any where around here,can't help you. Best Western gives some hotels a plus. This is suppose to mean they focus on giving extra''s. Guess this hotel is a lesson in speaking another language. The problems went on and on. Guess I was most disappointed in the manners of the manager. He should be retrained on many levels.

Had trouble with the TV and the remote from the moment we entered the room. Called to discuss with front desk. Clerk passed it off as having new Cable provider. TV's needed to be reprogrammed. Asked when they could do my room. Was told nobody available to do so. Tried to change the channel on the TV and the remote wouldn't work then. Tried to shut off TV and wouldn't shut off. Called Front desk to see if I could get a new remote for the TV....was told they don't have any extras. Asked if they could get one from another room. Would check into it...never got back to me. Called them later to see if we could try new batteries...that they would do. I took remote to front desk, got new batteries...they didn't help. Took remote back to front desk, now all of a sudden they have another remote I could try. Took that one back to the room and it worked, for the most part. Still couldn't get the channels that were shown on the Guide. But at least we could watch something! Also, internet was almost non-existent. Was told it was because we were too far from router. (We were smack in the middle of the hotel, usually where the routers are placed. Maybe not this one!) Also, had a broken toilet paper holder...not a big deal...it had been pulled out of the wall by someone at sometime and just not properly repaired...it didn't impede the use of the TP.

Hotel is located in the suburbs of Boston- access to the city center is not far away however it is far enough out that there is not any airport transit service. Rooms were in good condition and overall the hotel was clean. Contrary to other reviews I've read, I found the room in good condition- I was in room 311; perhaps other rooms are not in as good condition. Cost and breakfast were good according to US standards. Overall a good stay there the only issue was trying to communicate with the hotel as the Best Western brand seems to be centralized so when I was trying to contact them before my arrival I kept reaching the administrative HQ in Arizona and unfortunately emailed the Woburn branch but did not receive a reply.

We were able to fix part of the problem ourselves without help from the front desk. Housekeeping did not provide enough towels when we were there and housekeeping when asked it took some time to get the towels.

When I travel, I don't really ask for a lot. I want a clean and safe facility, a clean room, a good night's sleep, and no billing hassles. Most chain hotels easily meet or exceed my expectations. Sadly, this property did not. A coworker and I spent five nights at this property on a business trip in late June. The check-in experience was pleasant. When we got into the rightmost elevator, my coworker looked at a huge stain on the elevator carpet and said, "It looks like someone died in here." The doors opened on the second floor and the first room on the right had a splintered door that had been kicked open and was standing ajar. The room was in disarray. We looked at each other and said, "Maybe someone did die here!" Another coworker later told me that he saw the "crime scene" room when he stayed at the property at least a month earlier, so apparently things get fixed slowly there. As we walked down the hall, we saw room numbers taped to the wall with masking tape. My coworker said he wouldn't stay if his room wasn't spotless. Fortunately, both of our rooms were clean. I had to run back out to the car to retrieve more stuff, so I went out the back door. On the way back in, I noticed the rear door was totally unlocked and the ancient card reader was clearly non-functional. So much for security. The next morning, there were no forks at the breakfast area. It was entertaining to watch people eat bacon and sausage with a spoon. On the second night, the fire alarm went off twice (around 1:00 a.m. and close to 3:00 a.m.). The Woburn fire department responded in force the first time and sent one engine the second time. When I came back in from the parking lot the second time, an exasperated fire captain was yelling at a manager on the phone. He turned to the concerned group of guests and said, "This happens all the time--we were here less than a month ago!" He demanded that the manager come in and do a continuous "fire walk" because they were going to have to leave the alarm system disabled. Nice. No sleep that night. The next morning, still no forks at breakfast. A lot of people looked really tired for some reason... Fortunately, the rest of the stay was uneventful. At check out, I was handed the receipts for both of our rooms. When I examined them later, I noticed the total for each room was over $200 more than the reservation. I called the property the next morning and talked to a pleasant clerk who said he would pass the information to the finance manager. A few hours later, I received an email saying the rate change was a common occurrence. I have traveled on business for decades and I have never had that happen before. I called and asked why the amount differed from the reservation and was told again that it was normal for this to happen. After asking several times and getting a more frustrated "It's normal!" response each time, I gave up and called the corporate office. I explained the situation and the agent said, "That's normal!" I asked how a reserved amount could change and she said, "That shouldn't happen!" After some digging, she said, "Your rate was changed!" Yes, it certainly was. Fortunately, she called the property and got the rate issue resolved. Overall, this was easily the most hassle I have ever had at a hotel and I travel quite regularly. This property would not be bad if they would do some more remodeling and eliminate their frequent visits by the Woburn First Responders. Maybe the issues have been fixed by now, but I don't expect this property to rank high on my list of possibilities the next time I visit Woburn.

Nice updated room, very comfortable bed, solid breakfast offering. A surprisingly nice stay at this hotel. We used Uber to go in and out of the North End and saved hundreds over staying in Boston. The only thing not star worthy was the condition of the carpets in the elevator and hallways. Pretty rough. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat, however.

My boyfriend and I stayed three nights over labor day weekend. The first room that we were given the bathroom was dirty so they let us switch rooms to the third floor which was a lot better. We had a king size bed and it was very comfortable. The room temperature was good too. Wifi worked very well and fast. The breakfast was mediocre, the second and third day we brought our own breakfast but I liked that coffee was available 24/7 and the coffee was very good. On Saturday we went to work out and were quite disappointed with the gym. One of the main machines was broken and the gym was so small. We still got a workout in but could of been better. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Looks like this place was updated based on some of the pictures on here. My son will be going to college in Boston in the fall so we have been in the area a lot lately. since we will be up so much we decided we will not pay the overpriced rates in the city. We just spent 3 days in the area for Orientation weekend. We ended up at the BW New Englander . Actually thinking it was another hotel we stayed at before (whoops). Also thinking it was the same hotel(before arrival) we booked Parents weekend in Oct. Whoops. we walked in and realized it was not the same hotel but did see on the way in there was a restaurant/bar so that was a plus. Check in was quick and easy, room was clean and AC was cold, beds were comfortable. If you are looking for a 5 star this is not it but all in all a good place to stay. Went to restaurant both nights, once just for drinks the next night for dinner and drinks. Great beer selection, my husband had a burger, he said was really good(he doesn't say that much) I had an appetizer Seafood brushetta... was the best thing I have eaten in a long time. There was also bar trivia one night the bar was not crowded but between the tables and bar there was enough people to make it fun, Bartenders were great... Breakfast was ok, it was free I've had better I've had worse, they did have eggs and sausage that was nice, this way I cold have some protein and not carb overload on those waffles in that flip thing... SO why not 5 stars????? the coffee!!! I am a big coffee drinker and love when coffee is available all day long... 2nd complaint about the coffee is there was no cream, only powdered and it was flavored.... UGH that almost ruined my day (7-11 down the road) I am writing this yelp, first to try to offset the bad reviews because it wasn't that bad,But most importantly in hopes they will see this.... SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... COFFEE ALL DAY AND CREAM.... FLAVOR IS GOOD, BUT SOME OF US ARE OLD SCHOOL!!! you would have had 5 starts from me if your coffee were better... The room was nice and spacious.However, the slippery bathtub is dangerous, and the ac does what it wants- sometimes actually getting to the setting you want.We book hotels that have a pool and a exercise room. The pool never provided towels, and the weight machine in the exercise room was broken. One elevator was out for 3 of our 4 days.The fire alarm went off 3 times while we were there, once in the middle of the night, and once clearing out breakfast and the lobby when the fire engines arrived(no fire). Breakfast was good when they filled the Trays. No one seemed to be in charge and guests were constantly asking them to replace food items. No lids for coffee. no knives, fruit only the 1st day we were there. The only way to eat a waffle was to tear it with your hands. And, when we left, we could not find a luggage rack anywhere. Each complaint individually isn't a big deal, but together it really gets annoying.

-The front desk staff is rude. Not only do they not greet guests as they enter and exit the premises, they act as if people approaching the desk are inconveniences. -Same for the breakfast attendant. While getting breakfast this morning, he came out and started scoffing and rolling his eyes as he looked around and saw guests still getting food/eating. -The upkeep of the building could also use work. I work as a property manager at a big box retail store, and if I left exposed pipes and wiring out in the open where guests can interact with and possibly injure themselves, I would be out the door faster than I could say "Best Western sucks." That's not to mention the dangling ceiling tiles, water damage, or inoperable vending/ice machines, none of which have safety signs or any kind of "out of order" descriptors.

I have been a military brat and spouse my entire life... which means I have traveled and stayed in countless cities and countries throughout the world. I don't “expect” to be treated in any sort of way but am accustomed to being greeted and treated in a friendly and cordial manner by kind hotel staff who say genuinely kind things such as “thank you” and “enjoy your stay”, not to mention receiving a smile and friendly “Have a nice day!” or “Welcome back!” greeting when going to and from my hotel room. Having said that I am disappointed to say during my three day visit in Boston, I was never... and I mean NEVER... greeted in a friendly manner at the Best Western in Woburn Massachusetts. The employees do not wear name tags so I cannot refer to them by name, but from the moment I checked in I was made to feel as though I was interrupting something (no one else was at the front desk), mostly by the older of the two female clerks. Not once did I receive a smile, or a friendly greeting, no “thank you” when buying snacks... nothing... absolutely nothing to imply the staff at this establishment enjoy their job or received any sort of hospitality training whatsoever. The hotel itself is nice and the beds are comfortable but unfortunately the front end staff leaves a lot to be desired. From their lack of hospitality, unprofessional attitude and attire (the older clerk was wearing a “Slay” t-shirt once, the general unwelcoming and unfriendly atmosphere, and a young man.... not sure what his role is (again no name tag or professional attire), who walks around grumbling complaints under his breath has made my stay at Best Western in Woburn an uncomfortable one. Needless to say, because of the staff, I will not be returning or recommending this particular Best Western to anyone. To the front end staff: The patrons are the reason why you have a job. We are not an interruption in your day... we are the reason why hotels stay in business. Treat the many patrons who come and go in a kind and sincere manner, dress appropriately and enjoy your job while you still have one. If you're unable to extend the very basics in hospitality to the many individuals you encounter throughout your work day then perhaps this job isn't for you. People on vacation want to feel welcome and not like an unwanted guest.

My hotel stay was suppose to be $40 because I had earned some travel cards through the rewards program. The hotel front desk put a freeze on $240 of my checking account and told me I was mistaken when I told them they froze that amount. The funds were held in my account for most of a week until I had my financial bank put a force release on the money. Then the final charge on my account was incorrect (charge $89 instead of $40.) I spoke to the front desk Manager, Kim, multiple times and while she attempted to be helpful what she was telling me was not at all what I could see in my account. This was such a hassle that I will be switching my membership and rewards to a different hotel chain.

Let me start off by saying that I can count on one hand the times I have given an establishment a bad review! I have traveled to 47 states and have stayed mostly at Best Western hotels with great experiences. I have Best Western Plus hotels booked for this summer at New Mexico, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. I am a loyal rewards member. HOWEVER, the Best Western Plus New England in Woburn, MA was very disappointing! Front desk staff seemed uninterested in their job! Lack of friendliness, smiles and helpfulness. The pool water was very cloudy and dirty looking. Only one elevator was working for a 5 story hotel. Ice maker and soda machines were out of order (only one working was on 2nd floor). Heating system in room was set on metric (hard to set room temperature). Bathroom sink was dirty and there seemed to be blood on the inside toilet cover. Breakfast was horrible!! There appeared to be no one covering the area. There was no coffee. No bread, bagels, English muffins or anything else to toast. Only one waffle maker for a line of people waiting. Both syrup decanters were empty. Waffle batter was as thick as mud and almost empty. The counters were dirty and batter spilled all over. Tables to eat at were dirty and not being cleaned. Trash barrels full to capacity and no utensils. Orange juice came out as tinted water and the milk carafes were not on ice. I have NEVER seen anything this bad in all of my travels. Found out later that the young man who was supposed to be covering breakfast area was “in the back”. When he did come out to take care of the area, he was very unprofessional! Emptied the trash and then went to take care of food area without ever wearing any gloves. He had no uniform but wore only regular pants and a t-shirt with no name tag. Definitely not usual Best Western standards. Will no be staying there ever again!!!!!

The Best Western Plus New Englander in Woburn, MA is incredibly conveniently located. It's right off of I-93 and a short drive from downtown Boston. You have easy access to the big city without all of the noise and hassle of actually staying in the downtown area. The staff was very friendly and quick addressing any requests I had. The rooms were very clean, featuring a super comfy bed, TV, Wi-Fi, coffee machine, refrigerator, desk and many more amenities. Free continental breakfast is offered every morning and is quite delicious (I even took some back to my room for lunch later in the day). There's a nice restaurant connected to the hotel as well and with your stay at The Best Western Plus New Englander you get 10% off of your meal from there. I had a wonderful weekend in the New England area thanks to The Best Western Plus New Englander and will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town.

Even though the hotel was recently rennovated there were dirty floors, elevators, and cigarette butts inside the front entrance. Room next to ours had a group of people partying and smoking marijuana until early morning. Complained twice but they were not removed. Upon checkout desk staff did not apologized. Still waiting to hear from Best Western. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Needed a stop-over during business travel. This is one of the better Westerns. Spacious and quite rooms, well maintained. Bathroom lacked adequate towel rods, however. Courteous service. This is a newly renovated hotel with very attractive rooms, lobby, and breakfast area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location, fairly close to downtown, makes the hotel a very good value. The breakfast is good, including eggs, waffles, and all the other regular items. It's well presented in a very roomy and attractive dining area. I hope they get a TV installed in the near future. Our room was completely clean, new, attractive, and comfortable. The heat/AC unit in our room was wonderfully quiet. I'm sorry to say, they miss the mark on the small things, which makes the difference between an average location and an exceptional one. The deadlock on the door of my room was broken. The bathroom faucet, while not broken, didn't work well. The cable tv in my room went out every few minutes, although it did not seem to do it for all channels. There are no towel bars in the bathroom. This was more annoying than you might think. The lobby areas and entrances were dirty. The landscaping is littered with trash and cigarette butts. These are all non-essential things but they do detract from the experience. This is a "Plus" location, so my expectations are a little higher. I would stay here again, the essentials - breakfast, room, service, are good.

Had a great night at the Best Western in Woburn MA only about 9 miles from Boston . I was in town for a business trip and needed a quick place for the night. The woman named Katherine who checked me in was super friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and fresh and the TV was state of the art! There was even a great Bar and Restaurant attached called Waxy O Connors with a live band playing. Since I was travelling alone this made the hotel even more accommodating. On Sunday Morning I was surprised by the plentiful FREE BREAKFAST, that was hot and delicious, in fact the orange juice was actually REAL, which I loved. Check out this beautiful view with the snow falling. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area, who needs a reasonable and comfortable stay.

The hotel is going through renovations. The room was updated and very nice: beautiful colors, comfortable beds, nice bath amenities. I heard no outside noise - great for sleep. On need to fix: bath shower when turned, would not turn off the lower faucet (told front desk and they promised to fix, but did not). They have nice heated pool, but the area around pool is still under construction and cold. The lobby is getting nice facelift. I hope the breakfast will get it too. It has too few choices now: a couple fruits, fat-free yogurts (not good), oatmeal (but with few add-ons), worst scrambled eggs ever (probably out of powder), no sausage, no berries. Staff is very nice. I would still stay here again if they get better breakfast (good eggs and sausages, berries, more pastries, whole milk yogurts).

We stayed here overnight on our way to a Bruins game. They are currently under renovation in the lobby. The room itself was good size. The chair in the corner was low and the ottoman was higher so it made it awkward to sit in. The most disappointing part was breakfast. They didn't have cereal and the only juice was orange juice. The toaster had a big sign saying not to touch the settings and my toast came out too dark for my liking. The scrambled eggs tasted really salty. I had a vanilla yogurt, but it was a little on the warm side. They had muffins, but it looked like they were all blueberry. Hopefully their breakfast will be renovated along with their lobby.

It was my 1st time to stay in Best Western Plus, New Englander, Woburn, MASSACHUSETTS. The room is clean and the bedding is comfortable. My son and I especially love the modern design and decor in bedroom. Breakfast is excellent with a variety of choices including fresh fruits and hot items. The internet connection is very fast. The renovation is going on and make the noise and produce dirt. Overall, It is a good hotel worthy of money.

The rooms we're clean. Front desk staff very friendly on check in and check out. The heating system was not easy to use, and after three day's we were still not happy with it. We could not get the blower to turn off when it was not in the heating mode. We did tell the front desk people , and they said they were having problems with it.

The hotel provided us from its coffee room for us to have a small meeting with colleagues who live nearby. The owner, Mr Patel, and his crew were very gentle and took really good care of us. I got booked at the Best Western New Englander by a name-your-price service. I supposedly booked a 3 1/2-star hotel but as soon as I walked in, I knew it wasn't. The property outside is desolate and inside, the check-in was bland. The same could be said for the rooms, generic decor, (nothing like the picture btw), small size and small bathrooms. It was depressing. I called the name-your-price service, told them this was not a 3.5-star hotel and other sites had it listed at 2.5. They researched and agreed, letting us cancel our stay there. Regrettably, the next time I booked through this same name-your-price service, we got the same hotel. I cancelled that stay as well and now can't trust that service, at least in the Woburn area. I was surprised to see Trip Advisor also had this as 3.5 stars. It is a serviceable hotel, but it is a solid 2.5 stars. The hotel was under renovation, but I'm not sure it will improve it that much.

My family and friends decided to do a weekend away (kind of last minute) to Boston, MA. We paid $98 per night which is very cheap. We read the Trip Advisor reviews and felt confident. We were all happy with our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms neat and clean. Boston main attractions were just a short 15 minutes away. The breakfast was also very decent for the price. We didn't have time to use the indoor pool but we saw other children and adults using it and it looked like fun. There were some renovations being done on a section of the lobby but it did not affect us in any way. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families who like to save money, and still get a good night's sleep in a clean, comfortable room.

Overall experience was satisfactory. The restaurant attached was very nice, good food, good band and good craft beer selection. The room was clean and bed comfortable but the room was much smaller than appears on website. The lobby area was under construction which was really a mess. It made getting breakfast very difficult because there was not enough seating area and very crowded. The staff could have done a little more to keep the lobby area cleaned up and organized.

In addition to a large bed the room had a desk, two chairs, two night stands, refrigerator and lots of lights. They did not have a microwave but they did have coffee and hot water in the lobby. In the morning they had breakfast. There is an Irish Pub attached and we had a good dinner there. The people working in the hotel and the pub were nice.

I am a Diamond card holder for this hotel chain. This is the worst experience of any Best Western that I ever had. I am sure when the renovation is complete it will be better. Hopefully the staff will get better training soon. I hope that they make some changes so that this post is irrelevant. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice. First of all ... Finish the renovations! It was VERY clear that these have been going on for way too long and no action has been taken in the main guest areas for some time. Our room may have been 'updated' but it was most certainly not renovated. The toilet paper holder was coming off the wall; the bath tub had a rusted spot on it; the hook on the bathroom door was not affixed so every time you hung something, it came off; the fan on the air conditioner would not turn off (even after calling someone to come look at it). It would only shut off if you put the heat on which we did not need since it was over 30 degrees Celsius outside but because the fan never shut off it made the room very humid/damp; our bed was missing the top sheet 2 mornings; there were more hot and cold zones in that hotel than any I've experienced before; the only time there was any FRESH selections for fruit at breakfast just happened to be the morning there was a bus tour there; and there was a funky smell in the carpet in the hallway on our floor. NOT worth the money they charge each night. Plus to get into Boston, you have to drive to the train station, take the train into North Station THEN walk or take the subway to where ever you are going. Not convenient nor worth the value if you are thinking if staying here and going into Boston. I would not stay here again and I would not recommend to anyone I know to stay here.

Any included breakfast will normally not make your stay any better...it was sufficient, and that is fine. We stayed one night before an early morning flight out of Boston. Keep in mind, while this hotel is 20 minutes from the airport at certain times, it took us about 1 1/2 hours to get to the airport on a Wednesday morning around 7am. Rush hour traffic was crazy. I would NOT recommend staying here if you are hoping for a quick ride to the airport during the work week. The hotel was very nice. Seemed clean and freshly updated. The rooms were large (we had 2 queens). Our experience was quiet rooms, they had a fan on the AC unit that could run to drown out noise. We had to wait about 30 minutes to check-in. Management acknowledged that they were understaffed (only 1 person working), but the girl working said it had been like that for 2 weeks. Hopefully management will resolve this issue for their guests.

After looking at the high prices of hotel rooms in Boston, we decided to stay outside of the city in Woburn. This Best Western had a much better rate, and our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts in the morning were great for saving money on our trip - and it was nice that there was some variety every morning (we stayed for about 5 nights.) Get down early though; as it does tend to get busy fast. They are currently renovating, so the new breakfast area should be bigger. The only negatives we encountered was that we had no access to a microwave in our room, and our fridge would only work sometimes. Also, we were woken up to fire alarms at around 2am not once, twice, but THREE times during our stay. Going outside in your pjs in the middle of the night 3 times was not a fun experience!

We booked our stay for an overnight from 8/24/17-8/25/17 & we are so glad we did! What set the tone for me, was the way your employee Alvina at the Best Western New England, greeted my family and I at the front desk. Alvina was smiling, very friendly and genuine with a sense of humor. She made the registration process seamless and made us feel at ease. Between her great attitude, the beautifully renovated room and breakfast, we will definitely book again. When we were foraging for late night snacks (lol!), the young lady who's name I forget but was there around 11pm, was nice in explaining where we had to go specifically to get to the vending machines. I don't know about anyone else, but I appreciate someone who can be cordial that time of night. Even our checkout was great with Kim Kelly and Allison. Great prices, great rooms, pool and great employees made this one stay to remember.

Very easy to find and the location was in a good location for the activities that we were there for. Rooms were very clean and updated. This hotel allows smoking on the grounds within close proximity to the hotel. This caused the fire alarm to go off at 1:30am chasing everyone outside for 30 minutes. The breakfast area is usually overcrowded because it is too small. There is no on site laundry facilities and the vending machines are only accessible through an exterior entrance to the attached bar.

This hotel is an affordable place to stay just outside of Boston. There is free parking, wifi and breakfast. We did not travel during high traffic times and so it took us only 15 minutes or less to get to downtown. The indoor pool was huge, had a great deep end and was one of the nicer pools that we've seen in a hotel. The front desk staff was extremely courteous and helpful, not only with directions, but also with great advice on restaurants and the best, most cost effective places to park in the city. Unfortunately the breakfast area only had 8 tables ( and 3 of them were just for 2) for a 5 floor hotel, however they are currently constructing a larger area that will accommodate more people. The breakfast items were good but a bit inconsistent. Every day there were eggs, a meat, pastries and waffles, but some days yogurt, oatmeal were available, and some days the sign was there but the items were not. Being on vacation, we appreciated that the breakfast went until 10am. The rooms were a good size, very clean and the beds were comfortable. The flat screen TV was nice, although neither the channel guide in the book nor the separate laminated channel guide matched the channels on the tv. The shower was huge and the trade off was that there was very little counter space in the bathroom. It wouldn't have been an issue, although there was a weird lack of towel bars & hooks which could have helped. (We have toiletry bags that can be hung). The modern decor of the lobby and the rooms was very nice. Overall it was good and i would definitely stay here again.

I think the ac in the actual building was out, the lobby and breakfast areas along with hallways were very hot. The rooms are thermostat controlled with its own unit so the room was fine. Breakfast area was under construction so it was a tiny room they used in the meantime. Overall it was a decent stay after a long trip in Boston.

I always, where possible, stay at a Best Western Hotel. Room and sleep was good. My only disappointment was with some of the other guest who threw their water bottles, soda cans, empty cigarette packs, etc. in the grass and parking lot in back. The staff promptly picked the items up. People should treat hotel property like it was their own. RESPECT!!!!!!

The hotel is clean but the lobby is way to hot. The room is nice but I have found that most desk clerks don't bother to read any special requests. I ask for a 1st floor room if possible because my husband uses an oxygen machine. I not only ended up on the 3rd floor but at the far end. I am capable of hauling all of the medical equipment we travel with but the walk down the hot hall to the far end is hard on hubby. So now if there is an emergency Hubby will have to walk down the stairs which is a danger to him and othets. As my reservation was made many weeks ago I don't see why my requests couldn't be honored.

Stayed here for a night on our way to the Rhode Island shore. The room was newly renovated and clean. Comfortable beds and modern bathroom. The pool was decent enough for the kids to have fun. The breakfast area was small but they were still renovating that area. The city it is located leaves little to be desired but if you have to stay in the area, I'd recommend this Best Western.

The location of the hotel was close to the interstate and because of Boston's traffic issues it was difficult to enter and exit the property.

We had a scheduled visit to a Boston university and had no idea of the area. Found many hotels in downtown area, but all were very expensive for one night. As a rewards member of Best Western checked out local facilities and the one in Woburn proved to be an excellent choice for location as well as price. Facility was undergoing lobby renovations but otherwise had a good appearance. Traffic was a problem, but that is everywhere it seems in the NE area. Overall this was a great choice for us.

I decided to stay here because I love the Best Western plus brand and the price was far cheaper than staying in Boston city center. We were 7 miles from Boston and was an easy drive as long as you weren't traveling during rush hour. Rooms were very nice, breakfast was good (waffles, eggs, fruit, yogurts, cereal juice). We were here July 8 2017 for four nights and our rate was 150 per night compared to 400 in Boston. No fee for parking. I am a travel agent and have stayed in hotels all over the world. I would stay here again.

Stayed here on a recent trip to Boston where I was doing some work. The hotel has been recently 'rejuvenated' (their word) and looks very modern and clean. The room was spacious and the bathroom was a good size. I was a little intrigued by the lack of towel racks or hooks in the bathroom, but they're still working on the hotel, so maybe they just haven't gotten to it yet. Overall, it was a comfortable, friendly place to stay and I'd certainly stay there again.

This hotel advertises a shuttle to the train station that does not exist. We booked based on the ability to take the shuttle to the train station to avoid Boston traffic. We were forced to use Uber to connect with the train station and as a result our holiday cost us an extra $80/90. Not what we had planned or hoped. Very disappointed. The hotel itself has nice big rooms that are well furnished.

You walk into a beautiful room with decorative furniture and complimentary lemonade and from 6-10 they have breakfast. Check in time is 3 and check out time is 12. The staff is exceptional and very helpful. The room was clean and and the price was very affordable. This is a four star hotel and I would recommend this establishment

Two months ago we drove along the west coast, staying at quite a few Best Westerns that were quite clean and charming, that completely changed our perception of Best Westerns. Unfortunately east coast Best Westerns are very different. This hotel was dirty, and our room very overpowering curry-ish smell. The furniture was in bad shape, and in my dad's room the shelf under the sink collapsed and he reported the problem but it was never fixed. Service was poor, like they were doing you a favor to even speak with you. The complimentary breakfast was sad, and the poor lady who kept the food area stocked was the only pleasant hotel staff we encountered. Also the pool was tiny and not well kept.

Very nice newly renovated spacious room w/ modern décor. Comfortable beds. However, their breakfast was very limited. They called it “full” because they had scrambled eggs and sausage. Unfortunately, eggs were rubbery and practically uneatable. They had just one kind of jam – grape, which happened to be the type we did not like. We stayed there 2 nights and second day we ate breakfast at the restaurant just across the street.

Our rooms were nice enough, and just opposite the fitness room which we used every morning, so that was nice. The indoor pool area was also nice with close to perfectly heated water. But I must say the breakfast was a great disappointment. Both the fact that all the utensils and plates were plastic and paper and the selection was simple horrendous. Apart from an "oatmeal soup", it was hardly possible to find anything healthy on the menu. I don't like to start the day on sugar and cakes, I like to start the day on nutritious foods that keep me going until lunch. The staff are quite nice and friendly though - which also is important to me.

Location of hotel very convenient. Easy to get to city and airport. Decent price with breakfast included. Worked out cheaper than most downtown hotels. Got few good restaurants nearby which we used quite frequently during our stay. No noise. There are direct bus services to the city (3 stops via highway)- very convenient and cheap and best thing is the drop off point is adjacent to hotel premises.

My bill was switched with a family member I was traveling with. There was too much cigarette & marijuana smell. Hotel staff wasn't concerned enough, about the smoking smells. Breakfast was horrible, wet down at 6:30 no more potatoes left, staff never replenished, I waited 45 min.

Was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful service and value of this hotel. On the up side, the location is right off highway 93, the staff was very helpful and courteous, the room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good and plentiful. The only negatives we experienced were that only one of the elevators was working and our room cards had to be reissued twice during our 4-night stay. Would highly recommend this hotel!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay here! It's within about 10 minuets from the city and just down the road from everything you might need (gas, donuts, McDonald's, pizza, etc) the hotel has Waxy Oconnors attached to it. Waxys is a wonderful Irish pub with great decor and fantastic food and atmosphere. The room was beautiful, very clean, fresh, and spacious. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Boston area. We will definitely be back!

Hotel does not have efficient breakfast service. There is very little seating and food items are not replenished in a timely manner. Rooms are comfortable although doors leak light around the edges. Looks to have a nice pool. There were notice boards showing proposed upgrades. They need to be done soon. We were told that the sleeping rooms had been refurbished and now the public areas would be done including more breakfast seating area. The hotel is very convenient for getting to area attractions.

We checked in with our dog for a two-night stay and the hotel was great, the rooms were clean and the beds were super comfortable. It's a great place if you have a dog traveling with you since they have a nice lawn out in the back of the hotel for them to run around, as long as you clean up after them, and there are many great dog parks withing 20 minutes of the hotel. If I need a hotel in the area I will absolutely go back!

My only criticism would be the very small breakfast area but I'm not sure the hotel could do anything about this. Stayed here for 2 nights while attending a graduation. Both nights were fine....quiet, nice pool ..nice breakfast and warm cookies! It is located around 3 restaurants and they have one on site as well. The only problem getting here is the traffic on 95 and 93 which can be interminable at times. Took us 35 mins to go 8 miles at 3 pm on a Friday. Glad i don't have to travel this everyday

Stayed here while my husband and I did a "get away" for his birthday and our anniversary. Arrived around 1:00 p.m. and were pleased to find that we were able to check in that early. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel was clean and comfortable. Coffee was always available in the lobby. Pool area was clean, fitness room was clean and didn't have that workout smell. Few glitches though: Only 2 machines, 2nd floor and 4th floor and the 4th floor was out of service so you had to go to the 2nd floor if you wanted ice. Housekeeping could have been better, restocked the toiletries with used bottles (replaced empty shampoo with 1/2 full opened bottle). We hung our towels the first day, indicating that we would reuse them. The second day we left them on the floor indicating would like fresh ones. We were out the entire day and it was obvious that housekeeping never came in our room (wet towels were still on the floor) and trash was never emptied the entire 3 days we were there. The staff at the front desk were very apologetic stating housekeeping was done at 3 and they don't know why our room was never touched. In their defence though, there is no room service request door hangar, just ease do not disturb (on both sides).

Stayed here one night after touring Boston for the day. Very nice staff, friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, no issues, you could tell it had been recently updated and they did a good job modernizing it. Beds were comfortable and lines were clean. We were on the first floor. Our boys enjoyed the pool, it was clean and well maintained with plenty of seating, pool towels provided which was nice also. Liked having restrooms right off the pool to use. Breakfast was pretty good, eggs, waffles, sausage, pastries, cereal, fruit, etc. and it was tasty, hot, and plenty of it. The coffee was excellent, and we've had plenty of bad hotel coffee. We didn't eat at the attached restaurant as the boys wanted pizza but the place looked packed, on a Thursday night, which tells me the locals like it so it might be good. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips to the area. The only reasons I didn't give it five stars was a small cleaning issue, grape in a cup at the coffee station in our room, people smoking in their room on our floor, and no exhaust fan in the bathroom, which is odd in my opinion, but otherwise a really good hotel.

This hotel is a very good choice if you are staying in the Woburn/Burlington, MA area. It is close to Rt. 93 and not far from Rt.128. Also close by are several restaurants and the Burlington Mall. I found the room & bathroom facilities to be immaculate and updated and the beds very comfortable. The staff is very courteous and helpful. My only complaint would be the breakfast offerings are not the same quality as the other Best Western hotels where I have been a guest. Luckily there is a Bickford's restaurant directly across the street where I'm sure you can get a good breakfast.

I traveled with my mother and two kids for Spring Break and was looking for a decently priced hotel for a road trip. In general, the hotel was okay. The room was nice. It was clean when we arrived and the bed was one of the best I've stayed in. However, upon arrival the front desk staff seemed more into their phones than with providing information. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool area, but on the last day of our stay the room in which the pool was located became incredibly hot and we couldn't hang out there for long. The garbage in the pool area was never taken out and you cannot eat there despite them having nice patio tables in the area. Breakfast was terrible - plan on grabbing something light there like fruit or toast, but skip the hot stuff and go get a real breakfast elsewhere. I don't think the staff there cleans very well - my room was not cleaned and debris remained in public areas for days. For the cost, I guess it's okay but I would have paid a little more for a cleaner hotel. Location was good.

We stayed here in October and the hotel was under renovation. It should have just been closed for renovations, but no, it was left open. Our room had been recently renovated. Minor problem it had never been cleaned properly after the renovation. Grout wasn't wiped off tiles properly, etc. Major problem was we were not told the elevator was under construction and we were staying on the third floor! We were told it would be fixed the next day. It never worked in the four days we were there. It will be a nice place when it is done though.

Great location off highway; 10 miles to Boston, 5 miles to Harvard. Renovated just one month ago; we had third floor corner unit. Spacious, new towels, linens, mattress. Well appointed room. New fixtures in bathroom. Wifi was free and fast. Parking was very convenient, just outside door. Full American breakfast was excellent. Coffee and tea all day. 2 computers and printer available for internet and business printing. Friendly courteous staff. Pool was a bit cool but clean and nice towels. AC was quiet.

Hotel is undergoing major renovations, which we were not aware of when we booked. The night we stayed the elevators were out, which meant hauling luggage up to the third floor via stairs. The room we had was newly renovated & pretty clean, minus some kibble-looking chunks on the floor by the window. The shower didn't have any slip guards, so it was really slippery upon entering. I couldn't find the hair dryer & there wasn't any towel racks in the bathroom. All of these things were small annoyances & wouldn't keep me from staying here again. The size of the fridge was nice & I really liked the reading lights above the bed. The staff was friendly & I would stay at this hotel again the next time I'm in Boston.

The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice but I think things are kind of in disarray since they are remodeling. Beds very comfy, water pressure sucked. TV remote didn't work. One elevator was out of order and the other elevator was touch n go. Bar attached was decent and convenient to have there. It is close to Salem, only about 15 miles but with traffic getting into Salem in October it was about 30 min drive. Not bad at all for the price. Cheaper than other hotels near Salem.

They are renovating the first and second floors of this hotel. The elevator does NOT work. We are handicapped and not supposed to use stairs. We were told the elevator would be working the next day. It never worked during our entire stay. Room had been renovated, but they did not bother to even clean the wallpaper paste off the walls or grout off of the shower walls! Hotel workers were very kind, but, we would have appreciated the truth about the elevators!

We came to visit Salem which is roughly a 25 minute commute - all the hotels in Salem were booked. Stayed in room 312, was a king room, very nice & quiet for the most part. There were renovations going on but we didn't hear a thing, only saw supplies for it. Housekeeping seemed to make the most noise early in the morning with the doors slamming repeatedly, we turned the fan on to drown it out. The bed was super comfortable & the pillows were like clouds. The restaurant is very good, we went for dinner. Would stay here again if I was in the area.

The hotel is being renovated so expect some mess. We had a newly renovated room so it was very nice. The shower was great! But there is not enough counter space or lighting in the bathroom. The breakfast was good. All the usuals, but with real oatmeal, not instant. There was a lot of confusion at the front desk. I might try this location again after the renovation is done. Stopped for the night. 1st and 2nd floors under construction. Stayed 3rd floor. Found ink pen, screw and women's panties on floor. Need more lighting in bathroom. Also hooks. Hair dryer only worked on high speed. Others complained of no hot water for showers. For us just took a long time.With time and extra effort can be a nice place to stay.

Being remodeled and construction folks are in and out everywhere. We were on a remodeled room on 5th floor. Some new fangled drain cover in the shower that when water drips on it it pings like crazy, not a good idea. Also the shower does not have the new updated soap and shampoo dispenser used in all newer hotels. I hate those stupid shampoo and soap bottles. The staff was fine and the breakfast bar was way better than most.

Stayed 5 nights including the weekend. While I was out of my room for most of the days during the week. For those time the construction work was not a bother while I was in my room. When you were on the ground floor and out in the parking lot you did need to have your head on a swivel as a lot of landscaping work was going on. My room was renovated the décor was nice and modern. My only comment is they should be following up on their punch list as there were a number of witness marks in the shower stall from the installation that was not cleaned off an some of the hardware was not tighten. These were the only detractors from the room I could see. Wireless internet in the room had a great signal strength and speed. Free Hot Breakfast, not fancy, but very adequate to get you going. Waxy's next door is a pretty good pub, and you get 10% discount by showing your room key. Location is close to freeway, but be careful, large trees obstruct the Hotel's sign and you won't see it until you are right in front. Staff is great, friendly, helpful, and the rooms was well made when serviced. Look Forward to staying again.

This hotel is under renovations which was not indicated to us prior to our booking/arrival. We drove for 10 hours to get there before a ball game and tried to rest but the jackhammer was going non-stop and we could not sleep. The exercise room was not in operation and that was not indicated prior to booking either. No hot water on Saturday morning. The food at the breakfast was poor quality ... bananas brown and very soft

We stayed here 2 nights and were very pleased with accommodations. It was newly updated and our room was very nice, clean, comfy beds, great tv, nice bathroom. Checkin was easy and breakfast provided. Pool area looked nice however we didn't use the pool. Staff was pleasant, we didn't try the attached restaurant. My only suggestion would be a safety bar in shower and a light over mirror in bathroom as it was alittle dark. Would definitely stay here again.

We checked in on Sunday, 9/25 and left Wednesday, 9/28. The Motel has 5 floors with the 1st and 2nd floors still being renovated. We had a 5th floor king room which was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had the little niceties that we expected from the Best Western name including a good breakfast and business room. Parking spaces were ample. They had a free shuttle to the commuter rail into the city but not to the MBTA. We elected to drive to the subway system instead. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable and helped us navigate to the MBTA system to get into Boston. Although the room rates were a bit more than we are accustomed to paying in other parts of the country we have visited, we realized that the north east area would carry a higher price on most everything. We would definitely stay here again when in the Boston area

Hotel was being renovated - Smell of weed throughout entire floor. Room was updated and clean - beds were ok. I did not complain about the smell since I was only there for 1 night due to a wake/funeral. I would probably not recommend the restaurant because of the acoustics in the room. The food was good, but, we could not hear anything other than a VERY loud band

Newly renovated room had amenities missing (alarm clock & ironing board). Dead bolt door lock was inoperable. Curtains were falling off rod. Had I not arrived late at night I would have looked for other accommodations. When staff was advised of the problems they could not have cared less. I wouldn't say there again if they paid me. Please note: I travel on business @ 200 days a year. This was my worst experience in 20 years.

After being told my reserved room at the Hilton Woburn was given to someone else, I ended up here. At 1:30AM I arrived and the front desk lady was very nice and helpful. The hotel is under major renovation, but the newly renovated rooms are very nice. I believe I would stay there again.

Didn't get a chance to utilize some of the hotel's accommodations like the pool, exercise room, etc. The hotel is in the middle of a remodel right now but our room had already been completed and was excellent. Modernized. Updated bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. Wifi was good. Staff was professional and pleasant. Basically, what I've expected to get from Best Westerns in the past.

Heading on a trip to see family in New England. As a former resident of Reading, MA, I was sad I left a jacket in my room and it seems to have never made it to lost and found! Overall the hotel has a lot of pluses to the interior being updated, indoor pool and full breakfast. However, if something that was I remember leaving on a chair on the 15th anniversary of 9-11, you definitely wonder the character of the staff in the hotel. Stay there on your own risk. Guard your personal items, they may walk away.

The staff of Kim Kelly, Allison, Karizma, Marqueurite, and Josh were absolutely fantastic! Although the Hotel was going through a construction remodeling, these employees made our stay terrific. There attitude and friendly personality was so refreshing. They deserve a lot of praise while working through adverse conditions. The rooms were incredibly nice and the breakfast awesome! I agree with Steven, this hotel gets more bad reviews than it deserves. We have family in the area and chose it last year because of the location and the fact they allow dogs. Our stay was fine. Preparing to book this year I read all the mostly bad reviews, so when my husband called them he mentioned his concerns. The staff could not have been more helpful and when we checked in our room was changed to an even quieter floor. His credit card dropped on the floor and the desk called immediately to let us know they had it. Allison and Kim at the front desk were great. Yes, they're under renovation but under the circumstances it was a very comfortable stay. There were a few hiccups but nothing that wasn't made right. Breakfast there is a zoo, I will say, but there's a good restaurant across the street, Bickford's. We will be back again next year.

This hotel gets more bad reviews than it deserves and is a great deal so close to the city. I paid $80 for a room through Priceline express deals and for being 15 minutes from the city that's a superb deal. The hotel is undergoing renovation so the first floor isn't all that nice but the rooms are updated large and clean. The hotel also has nice features like a large pool, queen beds (a rarity in many hotels I have stayed), and a great breakfast selection. Of course there were small problems like being unable to find the hair dryer and an outdated first floor and elevator. Based on its great location and very low price however, I think these imperfections can be overlooked and would recommend this hotel to others!

The bottom two floors are under renovation, the upper floors are complete, and the rooms are great, assuming they're as good as mine. All new furnishings, all new decor. It was like being in a new, pricier hotel. The adjoining Waxy O'Connors was a pretty good restaurant, as well.

We arrived to a dirty bathroom. Not an exaggeration: a brown smudge and yellow-orange crust on the toilet seat from the previous guest. Told front desk, nothing could be done as we had arrived around midnight and no cleaners were available. Fine. Next morning I left a note for the cleaners specifically explaining the problem. They took the note, took the cash tip, and put new towels and soap in the bathroom... but did not clean the toilet! I had to clean it myself, completely disgusting (still better than having an upset wife though). If I wanted to stay at a dirty hotel, I would not have picked Best Western. It's a good location, room is nice, and the breakfast is good, but if bathroom cleanliness is important to you, DO NOT STAY HERE! They literally do not care! Even with a very specific note, the cleaners just ignored it and took the tip! I've never had a big complaint about a decent hotel before, so this was a first for me. Best Western New Englander Woburn... NEVER AGAIN. Also somewhat minor, but the cleaning crew is pretty loud in the morning. I'm not trying to be a complainer, but they play Spanish music VERY LOUDLY around 8:30 AM. If you're travelling for business and are already out the door early then I guess it's no problem, but if you're on vacation to Boston and plan to wake up say around 9:30 AM... well, no need for an alarm because the fiesta in the hallway will do it for you even earlier!

We in stood there a weekend from Friday to Sunday morning. The staff is nice but I complaint twice about the room being too hot. They s3nd in a maintenance guy he only clean the filter of the ac but still didn't work. It was too hot I had to go with my family to the pool to cool off a little and then go back. The lady in the front told me she didn't have no more rooms available to change my room. I made a reservation on the website of hotels guides it was a different price as what the website told me. There where giving me a the full price for a room when I'm suppose to get a discount because I'm a aaa member. I told the girl in the front desk why should I pay full price for a room that it was so hot in there.

Furious! When I booked this months ago, no one said they were renovating 3 of the 5 floors. We still paid full price for a hallway with exposed piping and electric partial covered wiring; toilet that sometimes flushed; bathtub that didn't drain (told front desk, which they didn't do anything about it), and a double bed that was so worn, it sank in the middle! The manager/owner needs to compensate and not just apologize! This was our once and only chance to tour Boston! Thanks for ruining or trip!

The Best Western Plus New Englander in Woburn, MA, is super convenient if you want access to Boston without the expense of rooms and parking (parking is a huge hidden fee of hotels within Boston and Cambridge proper). Yes, the hotel is currently under construction, however, the staff was very friendly and helpful in terms of expressing that our room would still be quiet — and it was! I didn't see or hear any construction (we were there on a Saturday and Sunday night), and the housekeeping staff was very attentive in keeping things clean. Comfortable bed, desk chair, plus a fridge and microwave, flat screen with all the channels. There's a complimentary breakfast in the lobby, a pool, and a connected Irish pub. Thank you for the easy stay!

The hotel is under renovation; there is little or no hot water. Some of the desk staff are new and still working on their training. However, the hotel is doing a reasonable job managing the renovation (except for the lack of hot water). All things considering, they are keeping noise and dust levels to a minimum. If you have definite floor requirements (i.e, first floor OR not lower floors) make certain you call the hotel before making your reservations. I am certain this hotel will return to our usual expectations of a good stay once the renovations are finished. It is not "good value for the money" during this renovation time.

The hotel was undergoing extensive renovations during our stay. We had no hot water, there was a strong natural gas smell in the hallway, there was dust everywhere and wallpaper was peeling off the walls in our hallway. It was NOT fit for anyone! We were supposed to stay for four nights but checked out after the first. I would give this hotel another chance AFTER the renovations are complete, if ever in the area again, but only because the front office staff was so helpful and understanding!

My wife likes to do pool laps for exercise- pool closed. Hot water was difficult to come by. All the staff were extremely helpful. Room was nice and the bed was great. Travelling into Boston was not too difficult, but I would stay in the city in the future.

This is the second time this year that we stayed here for the weekend for a crop. In January there were some minor inconveniences because of the construction but nothing major. We were told it would be finished when we returned in June. Not so much. Two days before our arrival we were told that the pool was still closed and there was some construction going on but it shouldn't interfere. Where do I begin....there was no a/c in the ballroom. We were hot and sticky. They got us a fan to help but even the fan was broken the second day. The bathrooms were not kept clean and trash wasn't emptied. The room was gross. First you walk down the hall. Apparently there was some sort of water issue and the had to redo the pipes. I guess to keep it looking nice they peeled back the wallpaper and then were able to duct tape it back in place. The moldy mildew smell is everywhere. In the room our tub was rusty and didn't drain. The bed is well past its prime. They offered to let us change rooms but the other room smelled so musty and mildest I knew I'd end up having an asthma attack. To top it off I awakened at 7 am Saturday to hammering and construction. When I complained at the front desk they told me they didn't start until 9. I told her she was mistaken as you could see them from the front desk. I could go on. The front desk stuff was clueless and unempowered to do anything. The floors were dusty and slippery with dust and there is styrofoam insulation all over the place. We are booked to come back here in September and have been told that the work will be fine but they have a lot to do.. If u come back, I will stay at home at night. I'd rather drive than pay for a subpar hotel. So disappointing.

This is the second time I have stayed here in the past 6 months and I will probably not be staying here again. It is under construction, which they only warned us about a couple days before, not long enough to make alternate arrangements. It is dusty, the elevators are covered in construction dust, and the floors are slippery as a result of the dust, the windows in the rooms are all blocked and the hallways are all blown out, which is strange since several floors are closed for construction, and this is the shape the ones that are open are in. The pool is also closed. I can forgive most of these issues, but the tub in our room is sanded down and the fixtures are rusty and very unappealing. But, even this I can forgive, my real issue was the unsympathetic and somewhat rude response I got when I addressed the issue with the Sales Manager, Teri [--]. Also, the General Manager who happened to walk up while I was discussing my issue with the front desk did acknowledge that the response was not appropriate, however, she did not offer any additional resolution. After writing the first paragraph They did finally offer to move us (to the last open room, which had already been rejected by someone else), the smell of mold was overwhelming, so we also passed on that room. In the end they did give us a small discount and we stayed because our function and many of our friends are here for the weekend, but, we remain disappointed. Again, I understand and forgive that they are under construction, but, that is no excuse for the response we got and the condition of the bathroom. I do want to say that each time we have been here, the front desk staff has been friendly and helpful, even when I became slightly agitated (which is a big reaction for me). It was ultimately the front desk person who offered us a small discount, not enough, but, probably what was within her control, which I appreciate.

I was disappointed that the hotel was under construction and I was not about it at the time of registration. I opted not to stay at another hotel because you offered breakfast and I without a car thought that was great. Too bad the breakfast was horrible. Eggs and turkey sausage cold, stale muffins, all the fixing were out to make waffles except for batter, next day not saying waffle maker was broken.Coffee was not bad. Just a bad experience all around. No hot water, key card not working, elevator didn't work so had to take the stairs a couple of time. Draw in room stuck and couldn't get it opened. Friendly staff given the situation.

We visited the east coast for 2 weeks stayed in a lot of Best Westerns and had a great time. It was very nice to know when you get to a to were your going. Check in we got a good night sleep got up had a good pick me up breakfast and your on your way. Its just one less thing you have to think about when traveling is the bed clean, any bugs, the car in the parking lot, and so on. I will stay again I have family on the east coast, and love it there.

We have had good luck with Best Western in the past but we will now seek them out as loyal customers. In spite of construction going on in the hotel the service was phenomenal, the hotel clean, the breakfast hot and varied, and the staff friendly and accommodating. Only downside is that the pool was closed, on this trip it didn't matter much but might for some. The value and ease of access to Boston made it ideal for our purposes, we would definitely stay here again.

This motel exceeded our expectations. From a wonderful breakfast - variety of egg speciialties and fresh fruit everything was perfect. My husband and I stayed at this motel because I had 3 surgeries on my eye - at different time from Dec. - Feb. The lounge, restaurant on premises, candy kisses and cookies in the lobby as well as hot chocolate available all day for the taking. 2 computers to work on in the lobby. HD television in every room which had closed captioning available.as well as comfortable beds, easy chair, refrigerator and microwave/. I would return here again.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the night of Valentine's Day. It was a total surprise and I made sure when making plans that the hotel had a pool. I found a good deal here and booked it. Unfortunately, the hotel fell FAR below my expectations. The pool area was closed due to the heat being broken, so no swimming. When we walked into our room, the blast of heat was so strong that we had to turn on the A/C - and this was mid-February and about 12 degrees F with a strong wind. While it finally got to a decent temperature, the cigarette smoke lingering in the room/coming through the door was, shall I say, unromantic. Looking for an outlet, I noticed empty bottles under the bed. We couldn't put our leftovers in the fridge because it was warm and smelled bad. The shower was for people with physical disabilities, which was fine, except the floor-level shower made water get everywhere and my girlfriend slipped and nearly fell. The only positive review I can give is the bed itself, which was pretty comfy. The staff was polite but not very helpful. Stayed 4 nights to visit my daughter and new grandson. They are 5min away. So location is great. Stayed last month at th e Marriott at unicorn. For the price you can not beat best western. Breakfast was very good all of the staff also very good. Will stay here when I visit again and will tell all to do the same. Had a plumbing problem first day . It was fixed in a couple of hours? I was offered a new room but stayed there. Small amount of damage done to wife's makeup. They offered 50.00 or a free night with points. This place has made has made for a wonderful stay. I will be back in March. Don't like hotels but am looking forward to staying here again.

The hotel is next to the highway so very convenient. It is being totally refurbished and will be finished within the next 2 to 3 months. So will be a very good hotel to stay at. Having the pub restuarant attached to it is very good. The food is good and has a good range of beers. You get a voucher from the hotel which gives you 10% off the food bill.

Friendly staff, good breakfast that goes until 10am for those who like to sleep in. They also have coffee, decaf, and hot chocolate with brownies and candy during the day. Clean, spacious rooms. AC was already set to a comfy temp when I got there. Good blinds to keep the room dark in the morning. My only complaint is the exercise room is a little lacking. No free weights and a very old treadmill.

Room was spotless and very nice pillows are TOO hard! The staff was very accommodating and went overboard to make our stay just right. This is an older hotel but it is very clean. The staff is helpful. It is also just about a 10 minute ride to Boston without traffic. The restraunt service was not good. Very very slow.

Hotel undergoing external work extending rooms. Inside the room was large and bed comfortable. We ate in the adjoining bar where the waitress very pleasant and helpful. Food and beers were very good. Easy to get to from Logan Airport.

They are currently under renovation on exterior but you really don't notice that on inside. Easy access on and off highway. 12 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital but with rush hour this will take an hour... Gotta love cities. Reasonable pricing for visitors and free parking in safe lot. Breakfast is very good selection and included in room price.

Unfortunately safe box if my room was broken and i was to leave my passport and money(in a big wallet) in the frontdesk , the person did not give tme any key, only put a piece of paper with my name and room number on the wallet. Next day I ask my wallet and money was not inside (around $2000), really amazing we call the police and did the report, hotel should become responsable for my money!! General manager will come next monday, i hope recover my money, my money was stolen!!!

Hotel was well priced and in a good location for my trip here on business. But I wouldn't stay for vacation. Free breakfast, WiFi, parking, the attached sports bar sold me during the booking process. But the pool is closed because they can't fix the heating issues. No hottub. The rooms are outdated. Bathrooms are very outdated! And it looks like they are remodeling, which is probably a good thing...so, maybe it will be better in 2 or 3 years from this post. Don't overpay for this hotel.

This hotel is VERY outdated. In fact , it was probably outdated 10 years ago and nothing has been done. The shower was disgusting. Not because the maid service did not do their job, but because it is old and totally worn. Original from when the hotel was built as a Howard Johnson's over 30 years ago. The staff was great. Don't think I would stay there again until the update the place.

Recently, we had to be with my daughter when she had surgery in Boston. Since we would be there several days, we wanted to save money. Well, the first night we couldn't get the door to the room open; the desk clerk said to push up on the handle, and that worked with a lot of pressure. Then while working out in the fitness center, the cleaning crew decided to spray ammonia based glass cleaner within feet of the elliptical where I was working out. that is not my favorite scent! Finally on the next day, the handle of the room's door broke off completely! They fixed it, but it was still difficult to open the door. This was a lousy stay! We are moving to another hotel for the next two days!

The Hotel was undergoing renovation while we were there. This meant that there was a period of noise between 4 and 5 in the afternoon and between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning. Did not enjoy the beeping of construction vehicles. The outer ledge of our window had metal pieces around it. The bathroom was OK, though the toilet stopped working completely at the end of our stay. One thing to note: My credit card was charged $50 when I checked in (supposedly for damage caused if I smoked int he room). I was told that if the room was satisfactory when I checked out a credit would be issued. Three days later the charge was still pending.

Certainly up to the standards I'd expect from a best western. Breakfast was nice with a decent variety of things to choose from. I will definitely stay here next time I'm in Boston!

I had an overall good experience at this hotel. The only problem incurred was the appearance and quality of the fitness center. The treadmill isn't in the best shape. Everything else was great. The staff and the hotel room were both exceptional.

We stayed here before and after leaf peeping with the intent of visiting Boston. We were welcomed with warm cookies that had just been baked. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, but our traveling companions' bathtub looked very tacky due to chips and flaking, although quite serviceable. The breakfast was full of a variety of choices and hot, as was the every present coffee. We were there during the boating and tennis tournaments, and still received wonderful service. There were two minor issues though: one computer was not connected to the printer and there was no notice to that effect causing issues with my boarding passes; and we were charged for safety deposits boxes although they were never used. Again, it is perfect for catching the MTA - good old Charlie

This is by far the worse place we have stayed in the Boston area,or anywhere else. We came on a bus trip (so we clearly did not book this ourselves) and when we arrived around 3pm... our rooms weren't ready. We were rudely informed, that check in was 4pm. So the lucky ones of the group were called by name to get their keys. The staff was clearly overwhelmed to say the least. They were flustered and rude. As the line formed for the one elevator available, everyone became irritated. EVERYONE !!! By the time we did get called, the line was down to the front desk. We chose to lug our suitcases up the stairway. When we did get to our room, it took forever to get in. The key card would not work. We tried the 2nd card a few times before it opened. There were others from the group that also had a hard time. The topper was the lucky one who did get their door open, to find a dirty beer can ridden room with people still in there. It turned out to be the crew that was renovating......but according to the desk, there wasn't suppose to be anyone in there. HMMMMMM.......... They were given another room with an upgrade. This room had a jacuzzi that was broken. When we opened our door, the room was clearly NOT vacuumed. The rooms are paper thin, and noise abounds. The next morning we left around 9:45am and returned after 8pm. My husband went to try to unlock the door again, but the door was open !!!! Literally OPEN !!!! It was not pulled closed or locked. I immediately called the desk and was told by the gentleman that answered that this couldn't be possible because we were the only one with the keys. HELLO...... it was open!! I must have said it a few times before he told me he just zipped out those keys and to come down to the desk for another set. I asked him to please send someone up. Someone did come up, hand my husband the new keys and left. They never came in, checked the door or did a follow up as to if anything was taken or we were ok. NOTHING!!!! After I did look around and check everything I did find something was not where it was previously. I was so unnerved that night. I have never been so uncomfortable anywhere like I was here. I did not feel safe or a valued guest. WOW !!!! The following morning we had gone down to a packed lobby and kitchen area, grabbed a few things and headed back to our room. We couldn't get in. Housekeeping had to let us in. I would never recommend this place for any reason at all. I will not ever stay here again..... and if I ever travel anywhere with a company who books the hotel, I will not go.

Door to room would not unlock. Had to have staff unlock every time we left the room. Pool was closed due to electrical issue. Most of the food prepared for the breakfast was terrible. On our last day we were awakened at 8:30 to see if we needed service.

Check in person, Peirong Hao, was very friendly. Check in was quick. The room was big, very clean and had free wifi and coffee maker. They have a free shuttle that will take you to and pick you up from the T train station, where you catch a train that takes you to downtown Boston. about $12 round trip per adult. This was the best way to go sight seeing and getting into and out of Boston. The breakfast was very good, scrambled eggs and sausages, waffles, cereals, etc. Although a little pricey for the rooms, it was a nice place to stay. Rooms were quiet. indoor pool not heated well.

We picked this hotel as we were spending a few days in the Boston area before a leaf-peeping trip to Maine and Quebec. It's very conveniently located if you are travelling by car, close to the interstate but not to the point that noise was a problem. It's a base more than a destination, but very good if that's what you're looking for. It was an ideal base for visiting Salem, Lexington and Concord, which we had planned to do. We had previously been to Boston, so made just one trip to the city centre, using a convenient park and ride recommended by hotel staff on the Orange line which got us straight into the city centre. Just one slight downer: the swimming pool heating system was broken down, and remained so for our stay. Perhaps the owners should reinvest a little more, which is no less than the helpful staff deserve.

Front desk staff were friendly and very helpful! Shuttle to the commuter train station so we could go into Boston and then picked us up on return -both drivers so friendly! Breakfast had such variety. Rooms were clean and beds very comfy! Exercise room was also clean and well equipped. Had problems with our car while there and everyone was so helpful! Did not use the pool but it looked nice. Waxy pub attached -food was excellent! Many fast food places close. Would stay again!

Hotel was very clean and rooms were roomy and comfortable. I think the air conditioning needed updated but it was fall and wasn't a problem for us. The breakfast was very good and had quite and assortment. The only problem we had was with our reservation and billing. One couple had reserved the room and the other couple actually paid for the room when we arrived and they charged both of our credit cards. It took about 4 days for one of the accounts to be credited. Would stay here again it was a good value for the money spent.

The rooms needed to be updated. The building was apparently somewhat older, and the rooms were showing some wear. Breakfast food was unsatisfactory. The scrambled eggs were like rubber, and sausage tasted bad. The fitness center needed new equipment; the treadmill did not have an emergency stop cord, and the belt was worn. Staff were helpful and friendly.

I stayed here for one night on business recently, and was rather disappointed. The area is definitely not the best, but the location is convenient. Breakfast was very sparse, and not up to the usual Best Western standards. The pool was inexplicably closed. The front desk staff were completely unable to use a Best Western travel card to partially pay for my stay, and it took me several hours to sort things out afterwards, including having to deal with further erroneous charges on my credit card, and resorting to email and fax to get their attention.

I am from Montreal and am in the third week of a four month trip to Boston. I should say each day I return from work at Cambridge area, I can't wait to get to the hotel. Very nice and professional staff, very clean rooms (actually I have stayed in two different rooms so far), nice and cozy lobby and very good breakfast. They have 24-hour coffee and tea, and sometimes in the evening they have cookies. They also have a nice pool and gym but I have not used them yet. They have a business center (a little one) which you can print or make photocopies. Whenever I need a ride (from the Anderson train station) I call them and they pick me up within minutes. The Sales Manager, also a very helpful lady, interacts with customers every now and then which is very much appreciated. I am a frequent traveler (usually staying in big hotels) and I should say this hotel is one of the best, given all of the above.
