The hotel is not really bad. The room was clean, and everything worked. There was plenty of parking. We just had a bad experience. It began when the clerk gave us a different type of room from the one we had reserved. We noticed but decided to let it go. We unloaded our luggage and went out for dinner. When we got back the door of our room was open. We asked the clerk about it and was told that we had been given the wrong room by mistake, and someone from the staff had looked in it to see if it was occupied and left the door open. They did not offer to move us to the room we should of had but at least explained why someone had been in our room. We went back to the room and found out that our keys had stopped working because of something to do with the mix up. That got fixed, and we spent the night with no more trouble. The breakfast the next morning was one of the poorer free hotel breakfasts we have had anywhere. The stay just did not go well.
Mandy was by far the rudest person I have met the attitude has to go especially the way she acted towards my children the stay was wonderful everything was clean definitely a beautiful place to stay recommend it but Mandy could probably use more training in customer service
I was passing through for a girls trip and will never be staying here again. The lady who helped us (her name was Mandy) was so rude and disrespectful, it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I loved staying here but I have never and will never be disrespected like I was. It was uncalled for.
I DO NOT recommend this place. I am currently having to deal with them allowing someone to fraudulently using my credit card during a stay. The manager was not helpful in resolving this issue. I have now had to cancel my credit card and am having them pursue a fraud claim.
I requested a top floor room a week ago through the Best Western website and we checked in at around 7pm. I was told there were no more top floor rooms available, that they had all been booked a week ago. You cannot book a specific floor only request it so the only way that was possible was if the entire top floor had been booked all week which I sincerely doubt so that was very disappointing. Not only that but we received a room on the bottom floor (so the farthest you could get from what I requested) right next to the emergency door. This would have been nice had we been by a door that was actually usable. We had to flip the bed around because the foot of the bed was higher than the head. Weird. There was a huge rainstorm that night which would have been nice to listen to if we were on the top floor. As it was we kept getting awakened by the air conditioners of the near by rooms going on and off all night. We won't be going back to this location.
The rooms are not clean. The breakfast is not great. Loud people is the hallways. Overall a bad experience here at this hotel.
There is nothing wrong with this place. Our room was clean, and everything worked. The breakfast was acceptable. However, as with many other places these days, the hotel needs some work on maintenance and cleaning in the common areas. The Covid panic is long over. It is time for hotels to return to their former levels of quality.
JoJo helped us in a pinch while trying to get from LA to CO for Christmas. No other hotel in the Witchita Falls area would help and even told us we could look on the rougher side of town. JoJo took care of us and was so welcoming upon arrival. So appreciative after the headache of trying to cut a trip in half so we could rest. We booked a second night for the trip back home.
This place is disgusting! The lack of maintenance and upkeep is appalling. The walls are dirty, linens stained and threadbare in spots, there is pitted rusting metal in the room (a lamp and refrigerator), the carpet is stained and coming apart and the fan in the bathroom doesn't work. The valance above the curtain is stained/dirty and the couple of pictures have mold/mildew on them. I have the pictures as proof and basically the whole room was like that. It just made me feel dirty and gross. I usually stay at Best Westerns because they are generally reliably clean and well maintained. This one is not. This isn't the worst one I've stayed in but close to it. Choose a different hotel.
This hotel covers the basics for a short stay with comfortable rooms with microwave and mini refrigerator. The employees are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included with many options. The rooms however are in need of a litter tender loving care. In my room the sofa and bathtub were stained and there the doors and some spots on the wall need some touch-up painting.
My son and I pulled in for the night as we were driving across country. We were warmly greeted by staff and provided a nice quiet room in the back side of the hotel. Breakfast was fresh and good the next morning with a smooth checkout.
Property was clean, comfortable, well-appointed. Slept very well in a king-size bed. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly. Quiet location, no problems finding the hotel. Lots of nearby restaurants.
I stayed at the Best Western Plus - University in Wichita Falls, Tx for 4 nights when I traveled to the area for a horse event. The room was spacious and very clean, the breakfast and coffee were excellent, the hotel was very quiet and peaceful. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely choose Best Wester Plus hotels when available when I travel in the future.
We had a power outage in base housing for almost 48hrs. The staff was amazing, caring, and understanding of our situation. They took care of us and made sure we would be very comfortable. The staff were all super nice.
Old renovated hotel. Musty smelling room with AC that didn't work well. Felt wet all the time. 2 fat pillows that couldn't squish down. Hot breakfast was cold. Cold eggs, pigs in blanket, potatoes. No fruit. No Danish. Grabbed a yogurt. If Park in front, bird poop everywhere. The person in charge of breakfast room had audacity to leave a tip jar for horrible performance. Would not recommend this hotel.
I go to this hotel every time I'm in town, which is pretty often. It is the best hotel in town for multiple reasons. 1st it's a great price, and a great caring staff. Then there is the location you are within walking distance to numerous eating establishments. Cleanliness is top notch. If your ever in Wichita Falls Best Western plus university inn is the place to stay.
The staff here are so nice, that was the best part. When we walked in the room, it smelled so musty. There was mold around the tub. One towel in the bathroom. We asked for more and they were provided, but they were so thin. Bed linens had some stains. Breakfast was some of the worst breakfast food we have had at a hotel. Personally, I would stay somewhere else.
From the time that I checked in until the minute I checked out the staff asked me how I was doing each time I walked past the front desk. They offered me suggestions when I asked them about restaurants and events close to the hotel. They reminded me of the complimentary snacks, and made sure that I didn't have any issues.
I've been staying at this hotel on my business trips to the city for a couple years now. The food is always good and the coffee hot. The desk staff is amazing and remembers the regulars while attending graciously to the newer guests. The hotel is within a very short walking distance (across the street, same block) of restaurants and even a brand new United grocery store. Very convenient.
The bathrooms need some maintenance and cosmetic touch up. They wouldn't let me park my Harley in the lobby. They do not provide complementary bike washing service. Not room service and no bar available.
I've stayed here for work for months on end, and I've stayed just for a night here and there. The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything is clean. I've never had any issues. Every time I come to WF I stay here.
Upon check in, Josie at the front desk's first words to me were “it's gonna be a minute”. I said okay and waited. It was only a few minutes, she seemed to be having a computer issue. She asked for my last name and then told me to swipe my card, but did not specify for what. I asked her if it was just for incidentals and she said no, that I had to pay for the entire stay. The email I received from my corporate travel agency had a confirmation number and I was under the impression that it was pre-paid as usual (this is the first time in 3 years that it hadn't been). I let her know that I had received a confirmation number and she said “i don't need a confirmation number, i need you to swipe your card”. I looked at her like she was crazy because SURELY that's not how you speak to customers. I asked her for a supervisor or her corporate number and she pointed to the left and said “over there”. I went ahead and swiped my company card even though I was under the impression that the stay had already been paid for and she said “there's no need to be angry honey” in a very condescending tone. I told her not to talk to me like that and she said “don't yell at me”. At that point i laughed and told her that her customer service was absolutely atrocious to which she responded “Yea that's why I got a $500 bonus for my customer service”. What a NIGHTMARE of a person you are trusting to be the face of your establishment. YIKES!! Will absolutely NOT return. She could have attempted to explain the situation better, but instead chose to be unprofessional and condescending. She was clearly upset about something else prior to my arrival, because she had an attitude from the moment I stepped up to the counter.
It was clean and very welcoming atmosphere. I enjoyed the free internet and breakfast. The staff was great and very helpful. It's close to dinner and the mall. I will check in again. My husband and I really enjoyed our time there.
Door handle to bathroom/ tub room was broken. You weren't able to fully close the door or you took the chance of locking yourself in or out of the room. Micro was missing a turntable so you couldn't use it. it appears no management personal checks the conditions of the rooms. Hotel is definitely not a “plus” hotel.
Nice place but a little out of way location. Had to find without navigation. Good steak house at reasonable prices just across the road. Good hot breakfast. Would stay there again now that I know where located.
We had a great stay at Best Western Plus. The room and bathroom were clean. We were given extra towels and a blanket by the lady at the front desk. The lady at the front desk at check in was kind professional and curteous. She was very helpful.
Professional, loving staff. Easy checkout and accommodations. Food was great and thoroughly clean throughout the hotel and gym was nice. I had several issues with my cards deactivating and they never hesitated to assist. Staff went above and beyond my 3 day stay. Here to bury my mother and they made that stress time a bit easier with my stay.
Stayed here one night. The first impression of the hotel wasn't that great. The front of the hotel and drive way have many, many cigarette butts lying around. Had to walk through two people smoking right outside the front door. The lobby was clean and the front desk lady was very nice. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room on the second floor looked clean and it was comfortable. Bed linens felt fresh and clean. Bed was comfortable. We slept fine. The water pressure in the shower was great. Breakfast was good Little cheese omelets, sausage and hash browns. Also had cereal, yogurt and Texas shaped waffles. We were also able to show our room key across the street at McBride's for a discount on our meal. Overall we were satisfied with our stay. (Just clean up the front entrance!)
Front desk staff were very friendly but the room cleanliness was very poor along with the continental breakfast. Not a lot of options and the options given were stale or as if they were cooked in a microwave. Overall, I expected more from a Best Western Plus.
We usually have good luck with Best Western Hotels, but unfortunately, this wasn't one of them. It wasn't a bad stay, but not great either. In particular, as we just left a BW in Kansas the night before and it was great. This one seems to have aged over time and is in need of a refresh. The location is good for an overnight stay as it's somewhat far away from the busy highways and such, has plenty of parking, easily accessible. But as things do when they get old, they get worn and don't look as nice. Still acceptable, but that puts it squarely in the "average" category. The main negative was the breakfast, which was the biggest contrast from a prior BW stay. The sausage was unexpectedly super spicy, eggs and biscuits were just OK, and they were lacking some expected breakfast items, such as pastries, muffins, etc. The cafeteria dining area seemed to have a broken HVAC as well. On the plus side, they did still have cookies, but I do prefer the freshly baked cookies other BW offers. Overall, it was an acceptable stay, we got plenty of sleep, and it was quiet. But I do have higher expectations for Best Western, as there are many other options in the area.
The room was not properly cleaned. We found bugs crawling on the carpet upon arrival and then again in the bathroom on the second day of our stay. We had to check out and move to another hotel. I will not stay at this hotel again.
Hotel room was functional, but obviously not well kept (e.g., ripped wallpaper, broken curtain hangers). Makes me wonder how clean the room really was, even though it appeared on the surface as clean. Was advertised as having an outdoor pool, one of the main reasons I chose this property, but found out after check-in that the pool was not available. Staff was nice, at least.
Great hotel!! Great staff!!! Perfect location and the amenities are great!! Staff is friendly and helpful!! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Wichita Falls. Close to the college, many restaurants and other things. Great place.
The beds were not changed and were covered in stains and hair, so I asked to switch rooms. We were moved and upgraded to a Suite but the beds had not been changed in that room either and were covered in hair and stains also. Rather than change rooms again, I went down to the front desk and asked for bedding so we could just change it ourselves. The bedding we were given was clean, but one set was covered in ink stains and the other set was full of holes. The overall cleanliness of the room, besides the bedding was a 2.5 out of 5, at best. The next day the housekeeper came and we explained what happened with the beds, she removed the old bedding and even brought us brand new comforters (I had only asked for sheets & pillow cases the night before and just slept without the comforters). The housekeeper told us that they don't change the bedding after each guest, they have a rotation schedule, and only change the bedding every 3rd day. They just remake the beds and on the 3rd day they change the bedding regardless of whether a guest was in them or not. Gross! Other cons: The a/c worked but put off a burning smell whenever it first kicks on. The remote and laminated TV guide were filthy and covered in god knows what. They haven't done a detail clean in a long time, the walls were stained and covered in marks and dirt and the room and hallways smelled musty. The rooms just felt yucky overall. I brought disinfectant wipes and cleaned the remote & tv guide myself along with the phone and any other high-touch areas. The desk lamp flickered on and off. Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The common areas looked clean and well maintained. They had lemonade or iced tea, iced water, coffee and cookies in the lobby each day. They also served a full hot breakfast but we overslept and never went so I can't rate that. It's in an excellent location, the neighborhood felt safe and there were lots of restaurants, fast food, and shopping options around (some within walking distance) and even a car wash directly across the street. Dollar General is right next door and we walked over there to get snacks for the room. Other notes: The outdoor pool was closed for the season and we didn't use the fitness or business center.
I was greeted with a smile at check in, nice lobby area and my room was very clean. Restaurants nearby, including a nice steakhouse that is within walking distance. Well lit parking area. Would stay here again.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. You don't often find people as nice as these were. We had issues with the first room we were assigned so they gave us another room. The second room had a little bit of mold in the corner of the shower/tub but other than that, the room was spotless. The beds were well made up and very comfortable. Lighting was very good and plenty of hot water. Laundry bag was furnished in the second room but not the first room. We would stay here again.
Overall quality of the facility has declined since last stay. Bathroom door hinges and grab bar fixtures were rusted and/or loose. Bathtub had streaks of rust or discoloration on tub surface. Furniture was dusty. Had to ask twice for a TV remote. However, check-in staff were very friendly and pleasant.
Great location with a very customer friendly staff. Room was neat, clean and comfortable. Breakfast area was bigger than expected and the available food met all of our needs. Having water, coffee and cookies in the lobby were a bonus. There were a number of food options within walking distance of the hotel. If visiting Wichita Falls I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay.
This is a great place to stay. You feel like family from the moment you walk in to the time you leave. Breakfast is always awesome. Just a great place to stay while visiting or working out of Wichita Falls.
The lady at the check-in desk made guests feel like family. The bed was comfy. The breakfast options were nice. Overall a nice experience you would expect from a BW property. The only knock, but not really against the hotel, is that the tv service they use is clunky to find guides and channels. There was a cheat sheet, but not all of the channels were listed. But, again, don't let it stop you from giving this hotel your business.
Josie, who worked as night clerk, is a jewel! The lobby was clean and they serve a great breakfast. Thanks to their staff I felt safe and welcome, especially by Josie. Well lit parking lot. Recommend for groups or solo travelers.
It was great stay.We will be back very soon! We're very thankful that had our reservation correct! It seems like the little things count.Clean rooms not corners meet.Have a wonderful stay.Great prices for a great stay!
This hotel was greatly lacking compared to others in the area. The room smelled musty, the toilets were clogged upon arrival and had problems for both days. The agent gave us a plunger to fix ourselves. Shower had stains on curtain that appeared to be blood- or at least the same color. Stairwell had large blood smear on the wall. Other local hotels made the 10,000 cyclists that came to town for the event feel far more welcome & valuable. Increased rates and requiring a minimum of a 2 night stay was not cool.
Overall a good hotel. The lady at the front desk was very nice and the lobby was very clean. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the shower/tub and the chemical odor in the room. Neither I've experienced at other BW's. It was such a short trip and the lady at the front desk said it was a busy weekend for them so I didn't ask to switch rooms.
Don't say at this hotel it was gross there was so many bugs in the lights in the hallways that you couldn't even see the bulbs in the light fixtures the elevators had bugs all in the lights the rooms were way out dated the bathroom floor on the corners of the tiles had mold all over them the carpet was gross the pillows were terrible the remote didn't work half the time the breakfast was terrible there was some egg patty that looked gross and you can tell it was heated up in the microwave the so-called sausage they had was terrible I took one bite and that's it there was no pastries very little choice of anything breakfast related outside on the sidewalk there was so much bird poop that you had to walk in the parking lot to keep from stepping in the bird poop there was Burlington Northern Santa Fe workers at the check-in desk when we checked in late that night every other word was a curse word it was embarrassing I had my children with me the manager needed to tell them to take it outside if they want to cuss every other word that was not the place to be holding a conversation and I seen a log book and they stay there quite a bit. This definitely should not be considered a Best Western Plus hotel if anything it should be a Best Western minus Motel 6 is nicer than this and I wouldn't even stay in one of those
I have stayed at this location several times and will return when in Wichita Falls again. They actually serve hot breakfast unlike many hotels and It is a great location, and across from a delicious steak house.
This hotel is always clean and the staff is always friendly! I stay here often for business through the year. Top notch team professional!! I have recommended this hotel to friends and will continue to do so!!
Our stay at this hotel was great. Extremely friendly staff, beautiful room, and easy check in and out process. The staff was quick to help fix a problem that occurred which made the stay even more enjoyable.
I stayed at this best Western Hotel for three nights and had a 100% satisfaction stay from check in, room service/cleaning and breakfast amenities. All mention were 100% excellent. Nice very clean hotel and value wise was much better better than the local competition.
Last leg of our cross country trip, perfection the entire way, 6 different hotels/resorts small and large. Best Western looked great online. Checked to see if the pool was open due to states with varying Covid rules, Best Western said "all clear", the website also said laundry facilities were available. First, we got to the front desk and for the first time in our many years as hospitality workers were shocked to find the front desk lady was sitting in a chair.... felt like paying an attendant at a parking garage when you leave. In her defense, she may have had a medical problem but we saw her walking around perfectly throughout our stay. If this organization allows front desk to actually sit, it is extremely unprofessional and tacky, for any brand of hotel. Second, we were headed to the pool when we met a sad child and his mom coming up in the elevator who told us the pool "was closed" , when we asked our sitting gal at the front desk why the pool was closed and if it was because of Covid or maintenance, she simply replied "it just is" the end. What? again she just said "it just is" . Third, as we were heading to do some long overdue wash, some poor man was dragging his sopping wet clothing out of a broken down dryer. No laundry, no sign, no warning. Asked our sitting hostess what the issue was to which she replied "yeah that dryer's not workin" Super efficient and classy!!! Eventually found a wonderful laundry mat (Roys) that was spotless and huge. After an hour we came back and Viola the pool was magically open! does anyone know what is going on at this property? The hostess was comfy in her chair of course. What a joke, the place had a parking lot loaded with loaders, tractors, back hoes, all kinds of filthy equipment and the loud, beer chugging workers that came along with them, slamming doors and bellowing up and down the hallway at each other. What a treat. Zero service, zero hospitality, zero chance to make things better or provide suggestions. There is a lovely Hilton down the street and some nice mom and pop hotels, don't bother with this place, you may get another lazy mouth-breather at the front desk who could care less about you. WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PROPERTY.
By far the Cleanest hotel I've stayed in, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure they're guests are comfortable. The breakfast is good and always fresh, and the breakfast room is always clean. The only hotel I'll stay in while traveling this area
Check out the sheets before bedtime. Make sure they are not old and full of fuzz balls. It was disgusting. Other than the sheets and the noise in the hall during the night, the neighbors television could be heard all night.
This Best Western is one of our favorites. Staff is always very courteous and friendly. Rooms are always very clean and the location is perfect for quick access to everything. It has always been a very quiet stay for us. We are able to easily rest after a day of being out and about. Love this place!
I liked the location of this property as it is not right off the freeway. Helpful staff quickly meeting my request for an upstairs room I felt safer in. Stocked vending and ice. Wonderful steak house directly across the street; easy evening stroll to dinner with your love bug. Very clean and peaceful stay. Thank you!
1st floor was LOUD, lost of door slamming parking lot was right next to windows- curtains don't close all the way and lights over sink didn't work- Sounded like room was flooding if someone upstairs flushed-
We stayed in this hotel one night on our road trip and found it a warm and welcoming place, super clean, with great WiFi and a large enough room so both of us could do some yoga stretches. The best part was receptionist Tammy Goolsby (hope we remembered her name), who held our room with a phone call -- not even a credit card requested -- while we drove through the dark from Childress, Texas. We were not even sure how much farther we had to go since an accident had created a lot of traffic, but when we arrived we were treated like long lost friends. Thank you for your warm welcome!
Best place to stay in Wichita Falls without a doubt! I will never stay anywhere else when I travel to Wichita Falls. Staff are always respectful and polite. Great location around several restaurants and things to do while in town.
Grout in the shower was peeling and moldy. Pipe under sink was covered with something and was dirty. Corners of carpet were dusty and a piece of trash was in the drawer of the bedstand. We regularly stay at Best Western and this one needs some work.
While most motels are are dropping amenities because of Covid19. This motel kept providing a modified breakfast, ice and other perks while conforming to Covid safety practices. Staff very friendly and positive.
The cook fixed a hot breakfast sandwich! Up to then it had been what was called "bag and go"; which consisted of a nutrigrain bar, apple and water. She even had hot coffee. It was the best meal served at any of the hotels where we stayed. Thank You!
older with carpet fraying and marks on door, receptionist was cool to talk with at best, as in not cool, pretty fair Covid breakfast, but signs warning of vandalism and security were a turn off, probably better places for the money
Stay was awesome, hotel is in a great location close to restaurants and mall. We've stayed at Best Western University Inn and Suites multiple times and have never had any problems. They have a great Breakfast and nice fitness center.
During this COVID era the hotel was great. The grounds were okay. There was an out-of-place bbq grill outside to the right of the entrance. The shrubs were trimmed. The entrance driveway was clean and free of debris. The staff and housekeeping were so nice. I had three night and it was pleasant. There was an issue with other guests that were disturbing others and they took care of that stat. Overall, I didn't have any problems. Everything I needed was addressed promptly. The staff remained professional at all times. I couldn't ask for more. I would stay here again on the future.
We were passing through from Houston to Dodge City and didn't have a reservation but the staff were second to none and gave us a great room. I was concerned as it was a long weekend and Valentine's Day. There was also a dog show on in town and lots of guests were checking in with their dogs. You never would have guessed though it was so quiet.
I was raised in Wichita Falls, and this Best Western is located in a part of Wichita Falls that is quality. The staff was professional and kind. The lodge itself is just okay. While in my room, to minimize the noise from the hall and neighbors, I had to turn on the air conditioning. The walls are thin. The TV and conversation from neighbors can be heard, as could the hall conversations. The bed was comfortable enough, and the water was hot and cold as it should be. The linens are quality and the refrigerator worked. The room is in need of some modest updates and repairs. Some of the shower tiles are away from the walls and you can see a lot of caulking has been used before. The exercise room needs some to replace some items needed to use the cable machine.
This hotel has a few mixed reviews and well you can't make everyone happy. Hotel clean, room clean a few cosmetic wear and tear things in the bathroom but again very clean. The bed is not a Hampton bed but it was comfy and not a rock hard mattress. Free cookies water and tea. Breakfast was pretty good not the Cracker barrel but it was free. Great place to stay!!
My wife and I show up by ourselves to get a room as always. We had to be up at 4a.m. Well we were woken up at midnight to the room phone ringing. Naturally my wife answers it. It's a guy saying it was the front desk and had to verify our adress and billing zip code. He then put her on a brief hold at 12a.m.! He comes back on the line and says I need you to verify your credit card information again and there was a problem with the card number he had. My wife was smart enough to not give him info. She went down to the front desk and asked what was so important. They transferred the call without asking for any information on who they were trying to reach at midnight! If someone calls at midnight and says transfer me to room 210 you need to ask who are you trying to get ahold of! Nope not this place.
What a lovely surprise this hotel is. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We are here without a car and I am disabled and have a wheelchair I have a lovely room with a large walk in shower and plenty of grab rails plus a shower chair. Ok so the view outside is an empty swimming pool but as it's late November I wouldn't expect it to be up and running. There are plenty of restaurants within easy reach and today my son pushed me in my wheelchair to the Mall it was a good flat run. Never before have I been to a hotel were the staff on reception offered to give us a lift back from the mall if it rained in their own car. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Ok the breakfast is self service but that's fine as the food was hot and plentiful and very tasty. There is free water and juice and cookies in reception plus extra sugar, creamer and coffee for your room. The hotel gym was fine and open 24hrs Under 18s under supervision. I look forward to staying here again hopefully in the summer when the weather is warmer
This place is acceptable, but we found it to be below average for the chain. There was a lttle mold or mildew around the tub/shower, and the shower did not drane fast enough to prevent a puddle around one's feet. The desk clerk who checked us in seemed a little unconcerned. There were cobwebs on a lamp. On the other hand the room was generally clean. The bed was okay, and everything in the room and bathroom worked. It is not a bad place but needs some work to become a good one.
This is the place to stay in this area. Very nice rooms, nice staff. Only critique would be the fake eggs for breakfast, the option of having smoking rooms in the hotel caused a little bit of an issue, as my room started to smell of it.
Check in was ok. The room and bed were clean (fresh smell). The bathroom on the other hand was not clean. Hair (possibly pubic) on a bar of soap left in the shower and a dirty towel left behind the toilet. I was extremely tired so I slept and left early the next morning. Bright spot for this stay was breakfast was decent and the lady taking care of it was very polite and helpful. Definitely not worth the $90 I paid.
This location is great to stay at. Shopping and eating of about any kind of good you would like is within walking distance. The staff has always gone above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. I will continue to stay at the best western on maplewood for my visits to Wichita falls
I've stayed at this BW 3 of the 4 last trips to Wichita Falls. I missed 4/4 because I waited too late to register one year. Regardless, the facility is very clean and close to the venues we needed to get to for the HHH weekend events.
My wife and I decided to stay here for one night and it was a decent place. We paid a fair price for our room. The room itself was clean and comfortable. We got great service from everyone here. We would definitely stay here again.
Best Western Plus is definitely a plus. Our room was clean, cool and the breakfast was absolutely great! Best Western has really stepped up their game over the last few years. We try to seek them out everywhere we go.
Went to visit my dad for Father's Day apparently that was a weekend of softball tournaments this was one of the few hotels that had a room left. The room was below average. The walls were thin and the housekeeping started super early. It was not the best hotel experience but it was our only choice.
I'll start by saying the manager was amazing, listened to our experience, and seemed genuinely concerned about our stay. We stay at Best Westerns because we have great experiences with them. This is the 1st that wasn't so great. We checked in late after traveling 18 hours. Receptionist was nice, got us keys, but did forget to offer rewards points/perks for us being members. Room 227- smelled very musty, bathroom was dirty, and when moving a pillow on the bed, a spider ran! I asked for another room. We got room 201- also smelled bad, bedding was dirty, bathroom exhaust fan didn't work, mold/mildew on ceiling, rust running down wall under bar by tub, and rub was dirty. Fridge was froze up/barely cooled. By this time, after traveling all day & night, and being the 2nd room, we just went to sleep. Our daughter was exhausted and we decided if 2 rooms were like this, we wouldn't get much better. Upon checkout, the manager looked at the pics I took to show at check-out, seemed shocked, was apologetic, and actually comp'd the room. Other than the kind service, we really didn't enjoy staying there. We didn't want to eat breakfast like we usually do because of the uncleanliness we experienced. We love Best Westerns, just not this location. Again, we appreciate the manager listening to our experience with 2 rooms.
What's with the refrigerator with no freezer? It sure makes it tough to keep your freezer packs frozen! Our checkin clerk wasn't much help, too busy on her cellphone! When we called in Mandy did an awesome job taking our reservation. She was gone for the day when we arrived! Our room was 120. It seemed smaller than most BW rooms. The breakfast wasn't as plentiful as most BW. Also the bananas put out were over ripe! We won't stay here again.
If you are looking for a stay close to an amusement park or tourist spot, THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. If you are a business traveler or someone needing a quiet location, look no further this is your hidden gem. This location is clean, quiet and located with in STEPS of a steak house, fast food, convenience store and small shopping center. The building is immaculate and well maintained. The rooms are super nice and some of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. Them employees are very courteous and helpful.
Great greeting when we arrived and there were cookies, ice water and ice tea in the lobby. We had to have help with the business center as someone took one of the wifi plug ins from the computer. The hotel had a quest reference book in the room that listed a lot things visitors need to know and want to know. Breakfast was excellent, large variety but the area is small. The night clerk was very helpful again with the computers.
The room was really nice - exceptionally large. The only issues were: the carpet was torn away from the tiled area and my toilet made a noise all night. But, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean! The breakfast was ok, but I had to ask for eggs one morning at just after 8:00. But, the staff was friendly and helpful!
Continue to do what you are doing of hiring wonderful personnel to run your hotel. The ones you have on staff at Wichita Falls, Texas hotel on Maple-wood ave are an excellent group. They exceeded highly above all expectations doing a superb job.
Spent two nights in this hotel, finding it a very pleasant experience. Everyone was helpful, rooms and lobby were clean, everything worked as advertised, breakfast was typical but sufficient. I plan to return here when next in this area.
My wife and I stayed here for one night. The location was not very convenient but the hotel was fine for a budget hotel. It was clean, the beds were comfortable. The free breakfast while not a great spread was fine, the eating area was kept clean, and the food was fresh.
Our stay was very good but not great. The bed and pillows seemed a little too firm. The breakfast was good but needed a couple more choices. The overall experience was very good. We would definitely give it another try.
I stayed at this Best Western for a little over a month, 3-4 days each week, while I started a new job and was looking for a permanent home in Wichita Falls. I always had a great experience. Always stayed in the large King rooms—very roomy, clean and comfortable. Great value for the money. But what kept me coming back was the great customer service! Front desk staff were great, especially the evening front desk clerk, Tammie. She greeted everyone by name and with a smile!
I stayed here as part of a road trip; the rooms were clean and quiet, and the breakfast was excellent. The gym is pretty small but has a good variety of cardio machines. The wireless service was great!
Another stay at this hotel. We have been traveling to Wichita Falls at Thanksgiving for several years and Father-in-law has stayed at this hotel. We request the 1st floor handicapped room and each year they have accommodated. The room is directly across from the morning breakfast. Not only does Father-in-law like their breakfasts, they help him with his food. He also likes the hotel and the room. The check in process is quick and smooth and they remember us from year to year. The room (and hotel) have recently been remodeled and is in very good condition and is very well maintained and is priced reasonably. Restaurants are close and it is conveniently located within the city.
Had problems in my house and could not stay in it. This motel gave me a disability room that was very easy for me to stay there comfortably. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The mangment was very understanding of my needs. The cleaning staff was very fast and all ways helped with my needs. Love this place. And very thankful for them.
We went a little out of our way to stay at this Best Western. I had a discount coupon and it was definitely worth it. My reservation experience was good. We got a non-smoking room with two queen beds on the first floor on the back of the hotel. Everything was clean and in working order and the room was lovely. The front desk did not know how to handle the coupon upon our arrival, so waited to charge us until her supervisor came in. I could not have asked for a nicer stay.
Dee Dee at front desk had walked away to get fresh coffee shortly before we walked in, so we had to wait a few minutes for her to return. That might not have been so bad but she returned with the coffee while chatting with a friend and seemed more interested in that conversation than her work. Overall room was mearly ok. Sheets were certainly not as clean as I would have liked. Maybe the makeup on the sheets is a permanent stain but if so the sheet should have been retired. And given the location of the stain there is no reason the housekeeping staff should have overlooked it. It was glaringly obvious as soon a I moved to covers just slightly. Walls were very thin, we were able to hear drunk guests stumbling down the hallway followed by amorous happenings all around us. By 8:15am they were already running low on hot water and showers became cool. Overall a disappointing stay.
We were there only for one night, just passing through Wichita Falls but the staff made us feel welcome. From housekeeping to check-in to check-out, everyone was warm and friendly. Even though the hotel is located on a busy highway, we didn't experience any noise problems.
Whatever you do ask for Ashley. She made a unpleasant evening a great night. Let me start by saying I screwed up and didnt book my reservation thinking I can show up to any hotel and get a room. Boy was i wrong. Hunting season started that morning and all rooms have been booked to get a jump start on dove season. Ashley called every hotel within 20 maybe even 25 mile radius heck maybe even 50miles. At the end of the day she saved the day and went beyond what she had to and was able to get me a room for me and my tired family. I will be back to Best Western because of Ashley.
The Best Western Plus University Inn & Suites in Wichita Falls, Texas is by far one of the best hotels I have stayed in during my travels. The Manager and stall are extremely courteous, helpful and professional at all times. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers in the Wichita Falls area.
Stopped in for one night on a three week road trip. Friendly staff. Room was very clean & spacious- great for our family of five. Delicious eggs, sausage and waffles for breakfast! They kept iced tea & chilled water for guests in the lobby.
I booked this hotel based on the reviews from yelp and TA. Upon arrival, we were greeted by front desk clerk Nicole. While completing the necessary paperwork, I asked if the parking lot was safe (as we recently had our vehicle broken into in a hotel parking lot in Houston). Nicole's reply was “I don't know- I don't park here, just park out front.” My husband and I venture with all of our luggage to our assigned room only to find the temperature in the hallway and smell offensive.Wait, it gets worse. The room smelled like Raid bug spray and the tub had dried yellow droplet stains in it. We came to the conclusion that this was not a suitable establishment to spend the night in. Here's where things get unacceptable- Nicole informs me she won't refund my money as I won't accept another room. I became frustrated and didn't act as professionally as I should have and for that I apologize, but she wouldn't listen to the reasons we couldn't stay. She became increasingly hostile until her co-worker explained that she could just undo the check in. It's not like I wanted to cancel the hotel reservation-I now don't have anywhere to spend the night. But the hotel room is dirty and it smells. The one good encounter here was Nicole's co-worker who made the situation okay. Because of that co-worker I will consider staying at an alternate Best Western Plus in the future instead of writing off the whole corporation based on the actions of Nicole and the level of cleanliness of this hotel.
I booked this hotel on the way to CO and on the way back home. All of the reviews seems about the same and for the price we figured we'd try it. The first night wasn't bad at all. The hallway floors were a little dirty but the room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was not very good but it wasn't a big issue. On the way back home, the lady at the front desk was super friendly and gave us tons of useful information, the rooms were clean, as well as the hallways, but the beds were horrible. We could have counted every spring in the bed. We woke up achy and hurting. The first night wasn't like that at all but the second night was terrible. We wished we'd spent a little more money and stayed at a place with more comfortable beds. After a 9 hour drive with 5 more to go, not sleeping well is the worst. Just because of the beds the second night we won't be staying here again. Overall it wasn't bad but it's more important to us to get a good nights sleep than to save $20.
My sister booked room for 5 nights while we all were in town so our kids could swim and we would have a meeting place in WF. The hotel couldn't have been better to us. They took very good care of us and I am certain all the kids were a pain in the butt. Breakfast was great and they were very forgiving on their times. They had cookies and drinks out and if you have kids you know this is a great bonus. Room was clean and neat! Good shower too.
Nice hotel close to MSU University and shops. Clean rooms. Shower very slippery and internet not so good. Apart from that really nice place to stay. Would recommend if you didn't need to have wifi on a lot.
We recently stayed here for a weekend to get away. It's hard traveling with an infant. So to find a hotel that makes it easy is a PLUS! We were welcomed from the time we got there. The room was spotless and the air conditioner was left on. So we weren't slapped in the face with a hot humid room. (Some properties turn the air off once the rooms is cleaned). The bed was comfortable with clean linens. The whole property was pretty much immaculate. Breakfast was excellent. There was definitely something for everyone. They have cold water, sweet tea, and cookies in the lobby. We travel and are in hotels it least once a month and this by far is one of the best. We enjoyed it so much we are planning a trip back.
Great value for the money. Central location makes it easy to get to everything. Rooms are clean with many extras such as microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer and internet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had to go down elevator to get ice as the ice machines on the other floors were out of order.
We arrived late in the evening kmluntk he greeted warmly by the receptionist who made our check in very easy. All staff members were very accommodating answering all our questions and also helped get us transport to the University and the bus depot. Rooms are clean and the facilities are wha you need for a couple of nights stay.
Since my son started college in town last year, I have always stayed at another hotel. However, as nice as that hotel was I decided to try something different yet reasonable priced. After reading reviews for a few different hotels. This hotel stood out. There were a few not so great reviews, but I decided to try it anyway. I have stayed at many other Best Western Plus's and have been pleased. Especially the breakfast. The hotels breakfast will pretty much sway me. And the breakfast did not didssappont. Upon arrival to check in Miss Corrina greated us and was very nice. So that was good and welcoming. Checkin was really easy the hotel isn't brand new but it isn't old either. Everything was nice and clean. So things of course throughout you could tell were older, but to me it did not take away from anything. The elevator does seem to be older. Getting to my room on the 3rd floor was nice upon entering. Again, most things had its wear and tear to it, but did not take away from the hotel/hotel room it self. The shower pressure was awesome. The sink was not in the bathroom kind of weird but still ok. There is a mini fridge, microwave in room! One thing I really loved was the parking lot (up front anyway) was WELL lite. That was a nice helpful plus, nice peace of mind. All staff seem to be very friendly. Breakfast stayed pretty stocked and clean. I will/would def recommend to a friend and will be back. For university parents it is a MSU University preferred hotel so that is good! I will def leave another review when I am back in the fall for football season! I'm sure it will be just as good of a stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at this location. It is clean, bed is comfortable and the breakfast was good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great as it is in the middle of everything. We will stay here again
Really enjoyed my stay, kudos to all the staff! Breakfast items were more than I expected! Light inside the closet--genius! A must stay if you're in Wichita Falls, Tx! Close to mall, restaurants , and various other businesses, so super convenient!
The hotel has had a complete remodel. You will have fresh room - great bed - sheets towels pillows and amenities. Well worth the price while staying Wichita Falls. Easy in and out location. Nice staff.
The rooms were extremely spacious and there was even a large desk and pull out couch so none of my bandmates had to share a bed. I didn't get to use the fitness center since we were running behind to our gig, but I would definitely stay here again. The continental breakfast with Texas-shaped waffles is also a plus.
I have stayed at this location three times and have enjoyed it! The breakfast is great! The staff has been accommodating and everything about my stay has been excellent. The rooms are clean and the best are comfortable.
In town for a few days and stayed here. Very nice lady checked me in and made me fill right at home. My room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. Breakfast is what you would normally expect. Will definitely stay here again.
I usually prefer Best Westerns as I am a diamond member. This Hotel is okay. I booked online and the check in was easy. Staff has been friendly during my stay. One issue that might be out of the staffs hands is that my key needs to be programmed everyday. The rooms are nice and comfortable, clean and decorated nice. The walls might be a little thin, there have been a few times I could hear the room next to me talking. WiFi isn't bad, it's fast enough to stream tv. This hotel was okay for what I rented it for.
We enjoyed a restful and quiet stay at this hotel on our way from CO to Houston for Christmas. The parking lot was bright and we felt safe here with our car packed with Christmas gift. Our room was very roomy and clean. The staff was very nice and immediately greeted us as a gold member for this hotel chain. I was very pleased with the breakfast with a lot to choose from. Hot and cold full breakfast. I would stay here again. Thanks Best Western!!
This is a newer property and well maintained. We arrived Christmas night. The young lady at the front desk was quite friendly and check-in was very quick. We had a huge suite with two queen beds which were very comfortable. It was below freezing outside and the extra blankets in the closet were most appreciated. Furnishings were modern and comfortable. Breakfast was well above our expectations and most enjoyable. Our room was spotlessly clean. The sink was outside the shower/toilet area making getting ready for the day much more efficient for the three of us. The exercise room was well equipped and easily accessible. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again if our travels bring us through Wichita Falls in the future.
This hotel was ideally placed on our trip. It was close to the hwy, quiet and served a good breakfast. The rooms were clean, and the staff we had contact with were very nice and efficient. The beds are comfortable, the internet fast and check in and check out very efficient.
If I could give this hotel lower than 1 star I would. The staff is really rude and the rooms are absolutely horrible. On one of our beds, it had dirty sheets with food crumbs, hair and pen scribble marks in the sheets. The sink stops up and the bathroom AND the vent went out in our bathroom. The room walls aren't very insulated and you can HEAR almost everything! You can hear people from other rooms, the staff vacuuming at 7:AM, and even the garbage truck outside. I am never staying at this hotel ever again.
Worst Best Western I've ever stayed in- lobby was under construction but all the carpets were filthy and cigarette butts were left by construction workers who were working on entrance. Ice machines were broken on Friday night and Saturday morning. Breakfast buffet offered one kind of egg-over scrambled eggs, and two fruits-old bananas and tiny apples. You had to make your own instant oatmeal. Rooms were sub-par with no TV channel guide.
This hotel in Wichita Falls, Texas is the best Best Western hotel in which I've ever stayed. The employees are extremely courteous, helpful and professional at all times. The rooms are very pleasant and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay over-night in this area.
Clean, Quiet, very friendly staff. No highway noise. Within 100 yards is the best BBQ in Texas, the best steak in Texas and also a fine restaurant for all types of food. A good long walk to a mall. Very nice suburban location.
My wife and I stayed here one night to visit grandkids, this place is quite, relaxing and the staff is wonderful, the room was very clean, also the hall ways was clean also. The black out curtains really work, so set the alarm (HAHA) or not. The breakfast is great , waffles , toast, cereal, eggs, sausage, breakfast potato's fruit and more so don't miss it. The area is safe and close to most everything (see Eskimo Hut review) Target and other shopping is all walking distance, a liquor store is a 5 minute walk (hint no DUI), restaurants and fast food all walking distance as well.
Room was smelly and sticky!!!!! Was afraid to touch bathroom door after I realized how sticky it was. Could have possibly had smokers in this non-smoking room or was just very old. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
This is a beautiful hotel. Easy to find, well lit, nice area and It appears to have been renovated in the last year. I checked in extremely late with my party. I was worried about check in issues but there were none at all. The staff was friendly and personable at a late hour. The room was maintained to brand new conditions and super comfy beds which were much needed after a long night and a quick stay. The best surprise was the options for breakfast. Almond milk in the fridge and gluten free bagels for real! Besides fruit, oatmeal and other healthy options. A time saver and convenience for someone with diet restrictions and health conscious.
Nice place to stay. Comfortable and convenient to the Sykes shopping area. Breakfast was very good withe a variety of food offered. Room was clean and met my expectations. Hotel has business center, swimming pool and exercise room. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Second time at this location and just as good if not better. First time was three years ago. This time, we had been riding on bikes all day long only long enough to stop for gas. Really tired and just needed to stop for rest. We stopped here without any reservations and checked in with Corrina. She was very friendly and helpful. Got us checked in with a smile. When she found out we was going to walk to the steak house across the street, she even informed us to be sure to show our room key so that we could get a discount. Even though renovation was going on, everything was clean. Rooms comfortable and clean. Breakfast was served in the morning and time and very good.
I'm not sure the names but every employee I came in contact with was super nice. Looked as if they enjoyed being there to help the guest. Honestly the hotel was just ok but having people working the front desk that are friendly makes a world of difference in my opinion of your hotel. Thank you to the staff for having such a great attitudes and making the stay so comfortable.
Overall a very nice hotel. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and they offer a hot breakfast in the morning. The breakfast had eggs, bacon and potatoes, along with a selection of cereals, fruit and other items.
Very Nice hotel, friendly staff. We requested a wheelchair accessible room and it was very nice. Did not get to partake in the breakfast so can not comment on that. Our room was on the second floor and other guest on that floor were very loud until late in the evening. When I was at the point of calling the front desk to complain they finally calmed down.
After checking different hotels, this one had the best price for the value. There is a divided street in front of the hotel, but you can actually get into the hotel coming from the nearby parkway as the hotel has a side entrance. Otherwise your GPS may take you around the block to approach from the North. The room was spacious and clean. My wife grew up in Wichita Falls and remembered that the Pioneer restaurant was the only one, if not one of the few they liked to go to when she was small. So we went across the street to the original Pioneer restaurant and were extremely disappointed. They have changed owners and the food was terrible. But there are lots of other choices of good places to eat nearby. Maybe the new Pioneer owners will figure out how to go back to quality food and preparation. Breakfast at the hotel was good the next morning and there were two women working to keep things clean and refilled. WIFI worked well in our room. If we ever have to go back to Wichita Falls on the way to Colorado, New Mexico, or somewhere else, we'll probably stay in this hotel. But on that point, Wichita Falls is one of those places that is probably visited more by tornadoes than tourists. Wichita Falls almost seems to be dying or dead and since we had time before a funeral, we drove through most of the neighborhoods. Some that were nice neighborhoods 50 years ago are little more than slums with run-down housing. But we recommend this hotel if you're in Wichita Falls.
After finding this hotel I was okay with its location due to all the restaurants and stores within walking distance. My room was spacious but needed some things done to it. When checking out in the morning the girl asked "how was your stay?" I informed her what things needed some attention i.e. fan and light combo in bathroom didn't work, carpet in desperate need of cleaning. She said to me that this particular room was the next one to be renovated. Kind of makes you wonder when you use points for a nights stay, if you get the "run down" room on the property. Oh well, I did get a good nights sleep and the breakfast was good.
Stayed five nights. Rooms are beside bedbugs ok. Just renovated so look fine. Staff is in need for extra Customer service training. Little attention for guest, plenty for collegues. At breakfast we had often to ask for supplies as refill was not done rapidly. No constant attention and service.
We stayed here on our way to and back from our trip to Colorado. The hotel was clean and well kept. The employees were very nice and helpful. Great value for the price! We would stay here again if in the area.
Clean, large room with fridge and microwave. Really comfy beds, and the location couldn't be better. Pioneer Restaurant and great steakhouse right across the street. We were close to shopping mall, and Midwestern University. They had fresh cookies every afternoon around 3:00pm. Nice touch.
Everything was as expected for the Best Western hotel chains. Good-sized rooms, comfortable beds, nice decor, clean rooms, and a friendly staff. The pool closes a little early, but everything else was great.
This is a very clean hotel with and exceptional staff. These folks really do appreciate their guests and make sure that all needs are met or exceeded. I would recommend this hotel for a quite place that is close to all major roads, restaurants, and local attractions.
This is a nice hotel and we enjoyed the breakfast food. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect when we visit our daughter who is attending MSU. We will definitely use this hotel in the future!
We checked out a few "lower priced" hotels north of town. Not good. There's a reason they are much lower in price. So glad we found this lovely hotel. Selling point, outdoor pool! There are some renovations being done, but the workers are very quiet. The first room we were put in had a leak in the bathroom. The front desk lady immediately got us into another room. The rooms are large & beds very comfortable. Large flat screen TV & good wifi service. Breakfast was very good. The dining are is large enough, but it gets a bit congested in breakfast area. This hotel is located in somewhat of a residential neighborhood. It is a very quiet area, but yet not far from restaurants & shopping. Staff is super friendly & very courteous. Our only real negative, they ran out of those delicious cookies about 6pm!
We often use Best Western – breakfast is a must for my husband. We enjoyed staying at the Best Western Wichita Falls while visiting friends and then on to Hobbs, NM. Very nice, clean, quiet facility. Great, full, hot breakfast offered.
Great Place To Stay! Quiet and relaxing!! Nice clean rooms! Great breakfast!! Staff was very nice and eager to help or answer any questions! The room was nice and comfy! I highly recommend this Best Western and will stay here again!!
It appears the motel is in need of an update we were given an ( upgrade) however the furniture is worn and most of the lamp shades were torn or had holes in them. The bath room time needs to be recaulked.
This is an excellent hotel in Wichita Falls, Texas. This hotel has an excellent staff that goes above and beyond what is expected. The staff is professional, courteous and helpful at all times. You can not find a better hotel in this area.
Desk clerk went out of her way to help us out with an early check in to get ready for a wedding shower. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. We would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a nice place to stay in Wichita Falls.
A little disappointed in this property for the price. Booked King Spa room. Friendly staff & easy check in. Room was clean but bed was not comfortable. Jacuzzi tub was a joke. Regular sized tub with 3 jets on each side. Not very relaxing. TV volume is programmed so if you have hearing problems you can't hear it. Sheer curtains block air conditioning preventing room from cooling off. Not a lot of things to do in the area. I would suggest staying elsewhere. Ok free breakfast. Non-smoking property.
Clean rooms Bathrooms have been recently remodeled. Large tv screens. Furniture was still old. Good breakfast buffet, fresh fruit options. Warm cookies in the evening. Lower prices than other places but still a good place for 2 nights.
This is a very clean, reasonably quiet, and generally friendly hotel, and I recommend it. Here is the "however" part. The desk clerk told us on the phone that pets weren't allowed, but it turns out they are for $15 per night. When we checked in, we found our bath/shower had no water and when we asked for a new room the clerk tried to get us to take our showers in another room so she wouldn't have to change our room. Bizarre. Once we got past that, our stay was excellent. Most important, the bed was extremely comfortable. The hot breakfast was very good with the exception of the scrambled eggs, which lacked both flavor and texture. The pre-made mini-cheese omlettes offered on another morning were much better. And it bears repeating that the hotel was very clean with a great staff except for those two hiccups. A fine value.
Hotel, is a bit dated, However was remodeled less than 8 years ago and is undergo a new remodel. I wouldn't say its worth spend $100.00 a night, but worth up to $83.00 a night plus TAX for a King room and up from there to a larger room. Well worth your stay in the Wichita Falls area as its close to the mall and in a great area of town.
Tip the hotel is under going ...should be even better when completed. But overall....nice clean hotel at reasonable price. Very friendly staff. Used to be a Ramada Inn -- I like it better as Best Western..
The spa tub, bath amenities. Good coffee & cleanliness of all bedding top quality. Nice & quiet. Love rolling clothes cart also. Wish j could have stayed longer. Breakfast staff outdid themselves with full Hotel & they kept refilling hot foods & cleaning waffle iron stoppages.
I can't speak more highly of this establishment. We arrived 3 hours earlier than standard check in time and they accommodated us. The room was sparkling clean, comfortable beds , amazing shower, very safe and secure environment, and the breakfast was phenomenal. We will stay again.
The stay was overall okay. The first room I had, there was baby powder all over the bathroom toilet and on the handle of the bathroom door. I wasn't sure if the whole room wasn't clean, or just the toilet was missed. Also the toilet was dirty. I usually never complain about anything, but I had to. Luckily the woman placed us in another room. Housekeeping wasn't bad, but not great, they kept bringing towels with stuff all over the towels. I didn't know if they were clean or not, so I wouldn't use them.. one had brown stuff on it, looked like dirt. They shouldn't be giving that towel to people staying in the hotel whether it's clean or not.. overall the time spent there was ok, I was there to visit my husband who is at the AFB nearby, so it was worth it.
Not bad and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They are currently remodeling and have some minor issues of cleaning after the remodelers in the hallways but they will handle any complaints or issues immediately and totally nice about it.
Always had pleasant experience staying at this BW, Wichita Falls location. The location manager Mandy Riley is very courteous and helpful! Also, staff was very friendly. Always stay here when visiting Wichita Falls.
We have stayed here before as our daughters attend MSU. The price cannot be beat and the breakfast staff is friendly. This time however we were there for Thanksgiving. We received four calls on Turkey day stating that we had not paid for a second night. We ran back to the hotel and showed them the confirmation and bank charge. I am not sure the clerk believed us even then, but she did give us new keys. I think if we stay there again we will book with the hotel directly.
Very good and friendly Staff very well-maintained hotel in deathly coming back to stay here everything is real easy to get to restaurant next-door Walmart down the street and plenty of things to do in the area
Check-in was quick and easy and our room was clean and comfortable. This facility has a rather awkward room set-up in that the bathroom door opens outward and the light switch is on the hinge side of the door. The breakfast was standard fare except that there was no fruit available. The business center has dated equipment and slow internet speed.
Staff was very friendly and attentive. Room was clean but a bit muggy.Location was very close to dining , attractions , and college campus. Would like attendant fixing the breakfast to have on gloves.
Staff was great, very personable. Addressed any issues immediately. Rooms were clean. Wifi had a strong signal, but was a little slow. Had an issue with the door locks not recognizing the key cards, apparently is was a hotel wide issue.
The lady at the front desk was wonderful! She was friendly and fast. Our room was average. We stay in hotels a lot and I am very picky about bed sheets. Upon inspecting the beds I noticed that one bed had been made but obviously the sheets were never changed. There were stains on the sheets, flakes of something under covers. After moving the comforter we found cigarette tab under neath it some coins under decorative throw. I went to the front desk and they gave me new sheets and comforter. They have me a discount in the room. The ladies at the front desk again were great and apologetic. The next day we returned to our late and both beds were made sloppy. The decorative cover was thrown in a pile along with a flat sheet on top of the bed. Pillows weren't moved that we used and the ones we didn't use just thrown to the top. I just figured there would be more attention paid to the room the next day since it was unclean the first night. Also didn't leave the same amount of towels and only one washcloth. Other then the housekeeping issue the stay was good. Breakfast was great and the hostess there was in top of things and friendly. We just slept here because we were here for the AF Base. Thank you to the front desk and breakfast hostess for making this a better review. We probably won't be back just due to I want a clean bed when I arrive and not have to unmake and remake a bed that wasn't changed between guests. That was just gross and not sure anything could make that better.
Robin and Mandy saved our weekend. I had paid for a reservation in full back in March at a competing hotel down the street. The day before getting on the road to drive to Wichita Falls, I called this hotel just to make sure all was in order and someone had cancelled my reservation for no apparent reason. Robin and Mandy at BW came to the rescue and were able to get me and my friend a room at extreme short notice and did a fantastic job! Thank you!!!
Nice hotel, nice front desk staff. Horrible room, horrible housekeeping. Room air felt sticky. We live in a more humid climate, and this was unacceptable. Housekeeping only took away soiled towels, no new towels or mat, no bed made and no trash emptied. Our sheets had holes in them. We were there for a large cycling event, so rooms were at a premium to say the least. We were not happy, and when we informed the front desk we did not receive towels, we were told to come get them. Considering what we paid, our stay was predominantly unsatisfactory.
Nice clean hotel, Room was nice, coffee pot was in good working order. I have stayed there several times, front desk was very good to me, called after I got to my room and asked if all was ok and if they could anything. Good recommendation on a nice place to eat. Parkway Grill on Southwest Drive. Next morning breakfast was fair, nothing to special, very clean.
When I come to Wichita Falls this is the only hotel I stay at, because of the professional people and friendly. They make you feel at home. Would not have it any other way. Best place in Wichita Falls to stay.
I have not had a bad experience here until this stay. The room had cleanliness issues and a staff member was not pleasant at all. Being that this was a one time bad stay, I will probably stay again but if the next experience is not satisfactory I will find other accommodations for future trips.
I hadn't stayed on this side of WF ever and was a bit skeptical given it was close to the college, but TA indicated it was a descent hotel so way we went. What TI didn't indicated was how great this location was. First thing is that the handicapped parking was close and near the door. Second...the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms were fresh, clean and spacious. TV was clean and the A/C was perfectly cold and ideal. The continental breakfast hit the spot. It's well worth getting off 287 and for just a few miles down the road (~6) a far better hotel experience awaits.
We stayed in 6 BW Hotels in the last 14 days. This was the best. We would stay there again if the opportunity presented itself. The Steakhouse across the street had excellent food. The breakfast was good and plentiful.
I have stayed at some much older Best Western properties, and to me this is a much newer-style property. It seemed to be immaculately maintained; everything in the room worked, and there were no obvious maintenance issues anywhere. The staff was friendly but non-obtrusive. We ate the supplied breakfast two mornings, and it was quite nicely done for this kind of thing. A bit of fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, cold cereal, milk, yogurt, self-serve waffle irons, juice, and coffee. Quite handy and easy to get a light meal without having to find a restaurant. We were in Wichita Falls for a nearby small-town reunion, and were thrilled to have the city so well represented by the publications in the room as well as by this property. We needed a few things we forgot to pack, and were glad the Dollar General was immediately adjacent, as well as a Walgreens and several restaurants within easy walking or driving distance. The desk clerk told us there's a WalMart just down the road if we needed something there. We got in late Friday and ate at the Pioneer of Texas restaurant right across the street, and it was OK. (Seemed to be a local hangout.)
This hotel is amazing. They make you feel welcomed they keep the hotel clean and in good shape. Our experience as been one of the best and we've been traveling alot. Our family was there for a funeral and some had stayed before to vist Hospice. The staff will make sure your check in is painless and quick ( I booked two rooms myself) it was the right rooms the right amount no problems. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable and we didn't hear any noise. We used the pool which was kept clean it's a little small but we weren't there for the pool just nice to be able to cool off after being in a car for hours driving. The breakfast was hot and fresh the have many options and there is someone in there breakfast area keeping it stocked and cleaned. I did have phone conversation with the hotel management (Mandi) the day before our arrival and she was very customer friendly, she took the time to listen and to try accommodate our family in this tragic time. If your looking for a hotel to really feel welcoming and clean, and for a good price this is it!
The motel was very nice. According to our rewards plan, we had enough points for a free night but then were advised at check in that THAT motel took more points than we had. The counter person was very blunt about it. The motel was clean and neat but the rewards program need to better inform their guests.......BEFORE reservations are made.
If your in the Wichita Falls, TX area this hotel far exceeded my expectations!! Staff is amazing, breakfast is fantastic, rooms are quite and Spacious! Rate is crazy good for this hotel! I recommend this hotel to any and everyone who is visiting the Wichita Falls, TX area! They also have the best Cookies I have ever tasted available to all guests!!!
Husband stays here for work and always raves about the staff. When we had to got out of town we choose to stay and I can see why he enjoys staying here. Clean, orderly accommodations, but the staff is professional and goes out of their way to make each guest feel like they are home
I just became a Best Western Rewards member so I chose the Best western this time. I have stayed in several hotels in the area and this was I am sorry to say the least desirable of them. The room and hallways had a dust line along the walls where they didn't get the vacuum, the vinyl base was away from the wall in the bath and the carpet seemed old and not very clean. There was several different smells throughout the hotel, not pleasant but overwhelmingly bad. One of the problems was unknown to me at the time is this is a per friendly hotel, and there were several dogs staying in close proximity to our room. I am not a fan of pet friendly as I feel the carpet in my room has been the a waste disposal site for the animals. In this case the smell and carpet seemed to confirm that thought. The hotel seemed to be old with some remolding. The walls were very thin and we could here dogs, talking from several rooms and even snoring throughout the night. The staff was nice and the room was ok. They did have a full breakfast with sausage, biscuits and eggs, the scrambled eggs were a bit watery but better than no breakfast. I stayed at several Best Westerns and this one had the price of a good Best Western with the quality of a much lesser chain.
This hotel in Wichita Falls, TX has always been professional, very friendly each time I book the room and stay. You could not ask for a better staff at this hotel for your stay and the rooms are very clean.
All staff extremely professional and well managed. Property was well maintained and furnished extremely well. Breakfast well presented and offered something for everyone. Every one was friendly and displayed willingness to do whatever was necessary to make the stay pleasant.
I like Best Western because the value is consistent. It is good, clean, and restful for the few hours I am there. I could go someplace less expensive, but I am uncertain what I will receive. This is my second stay at this hotel and it has always met my expectations and my needs.
We had stayed in a suite on the 3rd floor. We had reservations with the price given to us & when we got to the hotel to check in, they even lowered the price as we always stay in Best Westerns when possible. The suite was very large compared to a regular bedroom. The cleaning staff was very nice & friendly as well as the front desk personnel.
They recognize me now and call me by name as I enter. This is a quiet hotel and A/C or heater work great and not too noisy at all. Outside noise and other room noise are not here in B/W. Makes it great for a restful stop on my trips.
Nice hotel. Very convenient to State highways . Clean and comfortable with caring attentive staff. This is the first experience with this hotel. We travel across country frequently and are picky about where we stay. We will stay here again!
We stayed one night and found everything to be very good. The whole place was clean and the staff very helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very well done. Will stay there again.
Location is hard to find even with GPS. The desk clerk could not give us directions even from 5 blocks away. The lodging price was found to be 30 % higher than comparable B/W this trip that had amenities not found here. The water was terrible. Rust and odor! We preferred to pay cash. The clerk refused. It was required to go on our CC
We always stay at this Best Western when in Wichita Falls, which is 2 or 3 times a year. Have never had any problems. The staff is always friendly, the breakfast has a large variety of choices. The rooms are well insulated against outside noise. We somehow always stay when there is some kind of sporting event for kids going on and NEVER hear them.
Beds were soft room was clean. Everything was average. had two conditioners in the shower and no shampoo. Hallways and rooms entrance light burnt out) seem to be dark and not well lit but that seems to be kind of normal for BW.
A better than average Best Western. Their price is competitive with other hotels in the area. The hotel is over by the university but is a little difficult to find as it is not close to Hwy 287. Friendly staff a choices of restrraunts within waking distance.
Courteous personnel. Very clean and comfortable. 10% dinner discount at McBride's (One of the best Steak Houses in Texas) located just in front of the hotel. The morning after: Free breakfast (Try the waffles, they are delicious) There is no way you will get the same deal anywhere else in Wichita Falls for $90 a night. Will definitely be back.
Good clean motel. It has the toilet/shower separate from the sinks. Not many motels have this anymore, I don't know why anyone would like to be showering and or using the toilet while someone is at the sink getting ready.. Internet was faster than most hotels. Check-in was very friendly and the price was a good value. Breakfast was adequate. Will stay here again if we are in town.
Very nice hotel near the university area. Room was large, clean and well appointed. Bed was very comfortable. Free breakfast was good - cereals, breads, fruit, yogurt, cheese omelets, coffee and juice. Staff were friendly and accommodating with our uncertain check-out time. We like to walk for exercise and the area had nice residential areas for walking.
Great in between place to stay between San Angelo, TX and Tulsa, OK. Since I am 82 years old, I need that rest stop. In the morning, after a stay, I get a wide variety of breakfast foods as well as an apple for the drive. They now have strawberry and regular waffles. Yummm.
I have been staying in this hotel for 3 months, due to work and the staff are great. Whatever you need, just ask...directions, help with something, changing rooms, even where to eat. No matter what time of day or night you come in, you will find a courteous staff member ready to greet you.
We stayed here on our way back home from vacation. Very nice beds. Felt comfortable. The cleaning staff was a little bit under pressure and complained about their miscommunication with the front desk, but other than that, everything was good. Breakfast was nice and to the temperature. Very clean. The front desk was very helpful to recommend us to places and call us a taxi after our car broke down. They let us stay a few hours more because of this mishap. Thumbs up.
Great place to stay, service excellent, accommodation's always perfect. Rooms clean, bedding great. The help from Management to the Front desk, the person who takes care of breakfast and don't forget the ladies who do the cleaning of the rooms. Both times we have stayed at this location, never a problem.
Wichita Falks is in the middle of nowhere (at least for a German). So it matters a lot if the hotel personal makes one feel right at home. The friendly personal of the Wichita Falls BW did just that and assisted my short visit with plenty of useful information.
Hotel was very good in most respects. Good breakfast, helpful staff, quiet. However, the exercise took equipment had not been attended to. We had visited this property in October and on that visit the TV remote and the elliptical machine did not work. On our stay in December they still did not work.
Three years ago I chose Best Western form many other places. B/W is always a welcome and comfortable place to stay. Right off freeway and still cannot hear traffic. Bath towels are luxurious and large. Especially appreciate complete non smoking facility. Belonging to Rewards is beneficial as I often get a free stay.
No I try to give positive reports on everybody. But I have to say that Manny at the front desk is amazing. I did every hotel that I've been at his provided the best service and is made my stay here wonderful. I know Wichita Falls is out in the middle of nowhere but if you're in this area you have to stop in stay here, and let Manny take care of you. I work for a security company needed some things done with paperwork immediately. Many was on it without hesitation and not only did he get it done immediately but he had it done properly. That can make a difference on whether not I get paid and the customer has the quality paperwork they need. He didn't just help me in that area but anytime I need something he was quick to respond let me do that for you. Thanks Manny for all your help and kindness.
Very pleased with BW Plus. Great location for us, free WIFI for teenager, good complimentary breakfast. The room was clean. The room arrangement could be better. The sink and vanity should be in the bathroom not the entry hall.
We have chosen to stay at this hotel for when we go to MSU home games. Very nice and enjoyable. Clean, friendly, close to other points of interest. We had no problems at all at this location. Will definitely stay again!
This hotel looked very nice inside, outside & as you enter the room. Overall, it was convenient for location. The price seemed a little high since we could've got the same things a little farther into town for half the price. My biggest beef was our room wasn't cleaned after the first night and we stayed 2. The water pressure was nonexistent and the bathroom had no exhaust fan. But we had a nice time.
Stay here in Wichita Falls. I expected a comfortable and clean room - that's exactly what I got! Nice folks at the front desk, a quick check in and check out. A great value for a business traveler, and I plan to stay here again the next time I travel to the area.
The staff was very nice and on point, the room was nice, clean, and roomy. We requested a first floor room and got one. The bathroom was a wee bit on the small side though and the light switch is on the outside wall. The water pressure is nothing to write home about either, but the shower head is very high and that is very nice. The beds were... The place is very convenient to the mall and restaurants, and within minutes of Sheppard AFB (The reason we were in Wichita Falls) - The beds are good and didn't bother my back all that much. The shower curtain in our room didn't hang correctly either. The Wi-Fi was pretty good in this place and it was pretty full the 2 days we were there. Overall, a good bang for the room buck
We have stayed at this particular Best Western Plus facility a number of times over the past few months -- and continue to make it our 'hotel of choice' for our trips to Wichita Falls. The location is convenient to our appointments and to both shopping and eating facilities. We also enjoy the ability to walk in a neighborhood park environment when the weather permits.
This unit is not close to a main expressway. Unit could be cleaner. Breakfast bar had pumpkin waffles and was a nice change from the usual. Room was quiet and bed comfortable but not as overall clean as I would expect. Thorough cleaning had not been done for a while.
Second time at this facility and I will keep coming back. Rooms were good sized and clean. They had all the amenities. WiFi worked great. The staff is what puts this hotel above the rest to me. Very friendly and accommodating.
clean, very nicely decorated; elevators - thank you!; comfortable big room with fridge and microwave and coffee pot; digital TV kept 'breaking' up for about 2 seconds every minute, but had enough channels - so okay; GREAT breakfast options!!!! quiet comfortable stay, easy to find - I'll stay there again!
We had a room with a couch and a coffee table, microwave and fridge, and plenty of room to relax. The bed was comfortable and the décor pleasant. We enjoyed our stay. The check in was quick and the staff pleasant. I would recommend it for a good night's sleep.
I stayed at this hotel a few years back and was very satisfied with the propery in avery respect.. Desk, housekeeping, and breakfast employes were all very friendly and eager to see that our stay was confortable. this porpery is very well maintained both inside and outside and is centrally located in this city close to shopping and restuarants. with excellent internet great exercise room with excellent epuipment.
Excellent hotel. Quiet. Very nice and good sized rooms. The hotel staff was very friendly. Decent hot/cold contintental breakfast. They have the texas shaped waffle maker which is fun. I felt safe and felt my car would be safe at this location. Good BBQ next door.
I stay just one night in wichita in a horrible day, (rained a lot) this hotel is a good accomodation, easy to find, has a good location near shopping center. Room was spacious, good breakfast near a good steakhouse. I didn't pay because I used my B.W point and everything was perfect. Fast check in and out.
We have always enjoyed Best Western facilities/hotels, from Vancouver, Canada to (now) Wichita Falls, TX! This hotel was no exception. Our room was clean, big, quiet, comfortable AND what we had selected online. Our nightly rate was super and the hotel staff wonderful Breakfast was great.
Helpful staff, clean property and room, great location. A mistake was made when I made my reservations online and the friendly staff made the change for me without a problem. The location made it easy to access any part of town needed. We had arrived in town for a funeral and were exhausted and didn't want any hassles - much appreciated!
This hotel staff were very aware and knowledgeable of the event going on and they went out of their way to make sure that all guests were cared for. As cyclists in the event, they early prepared breakfast was a great help to start the day.
We recently drove from Northern NJ to Lubbock, Texas to bring my son to college. This was the first Best Western I remember staying in and it converted me to this brand. The hotel was very attractive, our room was wonderful, with a king size bed and a pull out sofa. The desk staff was very helpful and found cutlery and plates for me when I forgot to ask for them with our take-out dinner order.
