The only thing positive was it was somewhat clean. The toilet did not work, the phone did not work. and to top it off a couple with two BRATS was above us When we went to the front desk we were told I can move you for a charge. I mean really it was not bad enough had to go to the public restroom on the first floor. then they wanted to charge me. Also to the manager that has responded to other reviews on here IF you are going to give me some bull???? response like you normally do please don't if you are going to do something for the client "US" then fine.
Do not stay here! If I could give it a 0 I would. I was charged for a pet fee for my emotional support animal that I have certified and I have an emotional support documentation for. Even tho I booked a pet friendly room and it says on their web site that they do not charge service animals. have looked on their web site and it does not say anything about emotional support animals being charged. I have stayed at many hotels and none of them have charged me for an emotional support animal. If that is their policy then that is their policy and that is ok but it would be nice if they would state that in Their online pet policy that they put on there so people can make an educated decision on if paying an extra $30 is worth it to stay there. For me there were multiple other hotels that I could have chosen from. That were similar prices and they did not charge me for a pet fee. I ended up canceling my extra nights stay with the hotel as I was not going to pay a pet fee for every night that I stayed there. They still ended up charging me for a nights stay even tho I did not stay there and THEY EVEN CHARGED ME A PET FEE for the one night that I did not even stay there, even tho I just made the reservation a few hours before I checked in so it obviously did not prevent them from selling that room to another person and they did not clearly define their pet policy. If they were concerned about a quality customer service If I were them I would have given me a full refund of the room price because of their confusing pet policy that is not clearly defined. They have a pet policy that they pull out once you are theré that they could easily put on their pet policy page on hotels.com and that would have cleared up this whole situation but instead they purposely don't put it on there so that you have to pay for one nights stay because of the cancelation policy. I would definitely not recommend staying here. As one of the other reviews I read stated they are just out to make as much money as they can and are not concerned about providing a quality customer service. Especially to those that have pets.
There is nothing spectacular that highlights this stay over some of our precious nights stays. Comfortable bed to lay your head. If you are used to hotels that have integrated charging devices for your electronics, don't expect that here. There are none. Definitely an older hotel with not as many modern conveniences. The hotel was clean, service was friendly. Slept well. Breakfast was nothing to brag about, just your standard continental free breakfast assortment.
Excellent amenities . Very friendly staff. The minute you walked through the door you are greeted with a smile. Rooms are spotless beds and pillows are very comfortable. Clean towels and hot showers. Grounds are kept clean and well lit staff goes above and beyond. I will be returning to this location.
Great stay! I was the last person to eat breakfast, the male staff person asked if he could make a fresh meal, I think that was above and beyond! Definitely a clean and great experience! We will stay again.
The front desk was very helpful and answered all of our questions, and was very professional. The room was very spacious, clean, and quiet. We will be staying again and I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very friendly staff. Many options for restaurants close to the location. Internet is very stable. TV is a good size. Bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is perfect to get you started. Espresso machine is a very nice touch.
Great place to stay. Staff was friendly, hotel and rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. Had all the basic amenities and was clean and quiet with a very nice staff. I would suggest staying in top floor and on backside away from highway for most quiet room.
This hotel needs to be stripped of it's "Plus" title. Maybe it used to be one, but it is now a worn out old hotel. Not worth the stay. Beds are very hard and uncomfortable. Not firm, hard. Some of the staff are very rude and have a don't care, not my problem attitude.
This property must have a steady streamer of truckers giving good reviews. It was ok, but not terrific. Pros: large room with great a/c, strong water pressure. Cons: hallway noise, old school mattress might not suit many, breakfast was meager, strange smells (air freshener in room, cooking smells in elevator/lobby).
The Best Western Plus in Sweetwater, TX is an easy stay especially if traveling with your dog. They charge a reasonable dog fee and the rooms are clean. Dog friendly rooms have recently been upgraded to vinyl plank flooring. Bed is comfy (a little high for those who might be height challenged). The bathroom shower has excellent pressure. Room includes a limited breakfast and the rooms have k-cup machines which is always a bonus. There is a really good restaurant near called Buck's and they have a wonderful menu and a great T-Bone steak dinner. Staff are all super helpful and friendly. It's also quick on and off I-20.
I always have a great time in your Hotels and the services is nice and friendly and rooms are very clean the breakfast is very good and the gym is clean all the time and parking is very easy for my 18 wheeler
a friend reserved room for us and dog because we dont have credit card we couldnt have room because they want credit card for deposit why dont your people tell someone who is renting room all that is required to rent at time of reservation, so now we have no room and sorry company caused us to sleep in car in 107degree texas weather and refused a refund sorryiest company i ever dealt with will never stay in your hotel again and will tell everbody who will listen how sorry a hotel worst western is they dont care about anybody, bet they rented room we paid for also Sorry Company
Polite and willing to help and room and amenities were well kept up. Appreciated the services and the breakfast was well made with chicken fried steak that was surprisingly good! Nice hotel with all the things you need and a decnt pool with color changing lights as well! Right off of I-20 with many local amenities within walking distance.
Fantastic place to stay. The night staff was welcoming and attentive. Anita the house keeping manager is doing a great job. The room was clean and the beds were spotless. Amber Rose had a delicious breakfast ready in the morning. Everything was hot and tasty. Good selection of breakfast items. Elena made our check out process easy and quick. Great place to stay.
The best western plus in Sweetwater, Texas is a very pleasant place to stay. The staff are kind and helpful the breakfasts warm and the beds comfy. I reserved the king suite, which was very spacious and well appointed. However, I recommend asking for a room that does not face the interstate as it tended to get a little noisy.
The customer service at this location is far above any other BW across the country. I am a truck driver and have stayed at A LOT of BWs. The manager the breakfast staff even the housekeepers. I have celiac disease so I can't eat everything that is served sometimes and I choose hotels for the free breakfast since I rarely eat until night. So when there isn' t anything gluten free I don't eat all day so when I was told they would make me something extra other than eggs I was so appreciative Along with easy truck parking and a view of truck parking this place is great
Clean, comfortable, kind friendly staff. The gym was small but clean and working. Air conditioner worked so I had a great workout. Breakfast was small but had all I needed. Everyone there was nice and made a big effort to make sure I was a happy customer.
Tried other hotels in Sweetwater and this one is the best. Very friendly staff. Awesome breakfast with unordinary options, which was nice. The gym was perfect for my workout schedule. Internet was good enough to stream with my Firestick. No issues here.
Our one night stay here was a pleasant experience. Check in person was very friendly. Our room was quite clean. I was able to find gluten free options at breakfast and the breakfast attendant was keeping everything spotless and kept all the hot and cold foods well stocked. I would definitely stay here again.
This hotel staff is exceptional. Hotel is great too. I stayed here with one of my adult sons after driving for just over 13 hours. We stayed one night in the middle of the Labor Day Weekend in 2022. We got a good rate even though it was a last minute decision on a holiday. Breakfast and wifi were included. The parking lot is very well lit. The location is right off the main highway through town and is near some restaurants. The breakfast was excellent providing a great selection of hot and cold options. This included eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy, bread, bagels, yogurt, juices, coffee and I'm sure there are things I'm leaving out. We had a two bed queen room at the end of the hall and experienced a quiet night. The check in was smooth and quick. The staff person that night was very friendly and helpful She offered us a couple of muffins, bottles of water and pointed out the availability of cookies in the lobby. This saved me a trip to a fast food place when I wanted to get to bed quickly. She told us the time of breakfast in the morning, and provided us with a wifi password. She answered every question before I had a chance to ask them. Great service. The next morning, after breakfast, I asked for a printed receipt from the front desk staff which they promptly provided to me. One of them asked if we were out of the room yet and I explained that we would be gone in about 15 minutes. After we packed ourselves back into our vehicle, but before I pulled out of the parking lot, I received a phone call from the hotel. The front desk employee informed me that the cleaning person found a pair of glasses in our room. I went back into the hotel and the cleaning person brought my glasses down to me! Fantastic customer service. I've traveled almost all over the entire northern hemisphere and I've never experienced better customer service. I will definitely stay here again. I can travel from central Texas westerly by any number of routes but I'll probably try to go through Sweetwater from now on just so I can stay here.
Very happy with this well-maintained hotel in Sweetwater. Price was right (much less expensive than Abilene hotel prices). Good lighting in the room and bathroom, clean, quiet, good ventilation, roomy king bed. Great water pressure in the shower.
Arrived late at night after my other hotel "walked" us due to overlooking, the Sweetwater Best Western saved the day and got us a room at a great rate with a late checkout. Thank-you for helping us out!
I have stayed at this location on the way home from vacation for the last several years, and I will continue to do so. The rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are so comfortable. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
My stay at this Best Western Hotel was very enjoyable, very friendly, couteous staff. I felt like I was at a home experience. My room was immaculate & so clean & very comfortable. The hotel breakfast was great & fresh. This was a great stay for me & I highly recommend it to all my friends & social media. 10 star hotel!!!!
I've stayed at Best Western's across the country. A place I trust, for me and my family. Thanks for being like Campbell soup over the years (Consistent!!!) Thank you! It is very comfortable great place
Great customer service from the entire staff (front desk, cleaning, maintenance). Over several years, I have stayed in the hotel for both business and family visits to Sweetwater, and the staff responsiveness and accommodations, have met my expectations each time. When planning dates, always inquire for the best dates to stay as room prices are defiantly effected by local events in the area.
This is one of the nicest BW we have stayed at. The 1st Thing was the extra large suite king size room which was totally spotless. I am extremely picky about hotel cleanliness. I go in looking for mold in the shower, strands of hair, and other unsightly things. I couldn't find anything in the cleanliness area to complain about. This was the case for both stays to and from our destination. 2nd Thing is their furniture is not cloth. It's some kind of vinyl which I absolutely love because I know there are no bed bugs hiding ready to bite me. Also, the cloth furniture gets so worn out and nasty looking that you are afraid to sit on it. The vinyl furniture looked brand new. I was very impressed!!! 3rd Thing is the nicest and friendliness of the staff. I know the previous reviewer wrote about rude staff. Do not believe it. These people couldn't have been any nicer. That includes the housekeeping staff who I kept waiting for quite a while because I was so slow getting my stuff out of the room. NOW, the reason for the 4 rating instead of a 5 rating. We couldn't eat the breakfast. The eggs looked extremely unappetizing. They were all dried up. The pork sausage appeared to be very greasy. Also, there were not enough choices in other breakfast options to choose from. The saving grace was the coffee from the breakfast area. It was so much better than the room coffee. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! Breakfast is not a deal breaker with me.
Had a great experience at Best Western Sweetwater, staff was very friendly, exceptional check in experience, quick and easy, room was very clean, bed was comfortable. I will stay here again when in Sweetwater.
Not all guests get up at the crack of dawn and leave. Some of us arrive quite late and this set our alarms to ensure we have 15-20min to get breakfast before it ends. So, if breakfast ends at 9:30am, then we expect it to be fully open and accessible until 9:30am. Not 9:10am or 9:16am, but 9:30am. They started packing up at 9:10am and there were still 4-8 people coming down for it. When I asked if they could please wait until the scheduled end time, I was snapped at and told we were “late” and their policy is to pack up 15min early. This is complete garbage and infuriates your guests. If you want to end breakfast at 9:15am, then make that the ending time so that guests can plan accordingly. It's rude. And to then insult guests and be rude to them, just unacceptable. This breakfast issue only added to our annoyance by the non-working toilet in our room, the ice machines being “removed”, the general bizarre room (no counter space on sink, it was just weird), and the nasty, gross mystery “goo” dripping down the bathroom wall…it just didn't make for a good experience overall. Not one I care to repeat. When I was able to report the toilet issue they did send someone right up but when you arrive after midnight that just sucks to come into. All in all, just spend $20-30 more and stay somewhere better.
We checked in around midnight. The room was 62 degrees. We turned on heat and went to bed. When we woke up the room was 57 degrees. We dressed in a hurry and got out of the room. The toilet also didn't work. We met some cleaning persons in the elevator and they told us the maintenance man was working in another room, also repairing the thermostat. We told the desk help why apologized. A couple hours later a manager called us and stated we were getting our room price reduced. Unfortunately, the bill I got is the same price I was originally charged.
This was the best hotel experience that I have ever had! Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean, the beds were so comfortable, the breakfast was home made on site. Everything was great!
You will love this hotel and it's proximity to the heart of downtown San Antonio (15-minute drive). The staff work really hard to make you feel welcome and safe. The hotel is very clean and the hotel room set up is really nice with a small kitchen in each unit. There is a huge grocery store just down the road and the price is very reasonable for families who want to visit both downtown San Antonio but other niche towns in the country that neighbor San Antonio.
There was nothing “plus” about this facility. TV didn't work at all. When I tried to phone the front desk to have someone come repair it, neither phone worked. So I called on my cell phone and we were told it would be another couple of hours before the TV worked. They've been working on this since yesterday! When they showed up in our room to fix the TV, the hotel employee did not have a mask on (the Dish employee did). TV finally worked at 8pm! Good wifi. Beds were comfortable but pillows were all lumpy. The sink stopper was set to (mostly) stop only, so the sink filled up quickly. The tub didn't drain either as I stood in water over my ankles. Breakfast was the common runny reconstituted scrambled eggs and undercooked sausage. At least they had yogurt and bananas and pastries. I will never return to this hotel.
We pulled in after making reservations earlier and were warmly greeted and checked in quickly. The lobby is nicely appointed, the rooms were spotlessly clean. HVAC was efficient and quiet, no unpleasant odors. Beds were comfy and we had a great night's sleep.
The only thing that would've made this stay perfect is a body mirror, other than that it was great. I was offered a receipt when I left and asked about my stay. Every other hotel just took the keys back and never offered me a paper receipt. I use to only stay at Holiday Inn and Marriott hotels, never again.
We've stayed at a few Best Western Plus during our road trip and all were great, with this place being close to perfect for our needs. My favorite part at these hotels is their breakfast; they have a lot of options.
the hotel was very clean, very modern, and it was a great choice. we were quite satisfied with the experience. The ight time font desk clerk, Michelle, was very helpful and we had a good night's sleep.
Great experience, we will be back. Reserved a block of rooms for family reunion. Staff was great, check in easy. Rooms were great, clean and comfortable beds. HOT breakfast was served by staff to edge the COVID problem. Access of easy in and out on two way service road.
We were driving through West Texas headed back to the ATX area from NM. We normally stay in Lubbock, but there was a home game, so hotel prices were through the roof. We decided to look at Sweetwater and found this great hotel! The price was great, breakfast was good, the room was clean, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location is also very convenient. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the pool, but its an outdoor pool in West Texas, so lots of wind to blow things in. It was a little dirty and seemed to have a lot of chlorine. That said, it wasn't enough of an issue to affect our rating.
Hot breakfast served by employee to eliminate Covid concerns. Very clean hotel. Super large room. Could have had another KING sized bed in it and still had room. Very easy access and very convenient to stores/ restaurants nearby.
Hotel was very nice, right on our route. I was pleasantly surprised that everything appeared to be new, clean, and in good working order. Location was nice on our way back from Lubbock to Austin so we didn't have as far to drive the next day.
Very nice property. Clean, comfortable, and very affordable! Room was nice and spacious, bed was very comfortable after a long day of traveling. Normally, their pool is perfect for letting out some steam for our daughter, but it was out of order this trip. Will definitely stay again next year when we pass through again!
Nice hotel, very clean. Easy accessibility from I-20. Plenty of parking. Plenty of towels. Great water pressure and temperature. AC worked well. Large bathroom. Friendly helpful staff. Just a couple of negatives: no luggage rack to place suitcase on, no information regarding surrounding area. No pen or paper. Maybe these things were removed since Covid. Wouldn't keep me from staying there again. A mirror in the room would have been nice. Breakfast was free but did not try.
Great location and staff was phenomenal. Extremely helpful, friendly and courteous. Entire visit was good from start to finish. Good variety qt breakfast and the pool and hot tub was a relaxing way to end the day.. Would definitely recommend
I was so impressed with Best Western Plus, I won't stay anywhere else when I travel that area! The water pressure was like I was at home and the beds were comfy too. The staff was beyond helpful and nice. The hotel smelled cleaned. That is something I have never experienced before.
I would say this is one of the best places I have ever stayed. All the employees make you feel like you are family and wanted. The room and entire property was clean as could be. The breakfast was awesome looking and made the entry way smell like home.
Although brief, our stay was remarkable. We checked in late at night. Melanie checked us in. Her level of professionalism was outstanding! She was able to anticipate some of our special needs and assisted us without us even having to ask. She was proactive rather than reactive. Also, every single hotel staff we came into contact with was friendly, professional, and a joy to be around (even those we just briefly saw in passing). On a annual bases, we stay at hotels, on average, 20 nights. We have been so disappointed that most hotels no longer offer hot breakfast. So, when we discovered that you did, we were ecstatic. We normally do not stay at Best Western, but, because of Melanie, all of your support staff, and your hot breakfast, we will make Best Western our first choice.
If you choose this hotel you will not be disappointed! It is clean, and so welcoming. We stayed two nights, and never wanted for anything. Breakfast was made for us by an employee and it was hot and delicious. The hotel was so clean, the breakfast area was spotless. My husband who is kind of a geek about cleanliness, used his blue light flashlight and there was not one place that he looked at that had any type of stain, bodily fluids, or other type of uncleanness. It was amazing! The staff was exceptional and so willing to make sure we felt appreciated.
This is my favorite Best Western to stay at and have been there many times over the past few years. It is always clean and the staff are friendly and always accommodating. I have not once encountered any kind of issue.
We love this location because always very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is about the best of what is available now adays with the Covid situation. Always something hot and enjoy the sugar frosted flakes, yogert, oatmeal you can make, juice. Appreciated the free upgrade for Elite membership. We will always stay here on our way from California to Texas and back. Good freeway access.
Traveling for business, we wanted adjoining rooms so we could finalize paperwork without running back and forth between room entry doors. Worked great ! I had a coffee table and couch in my room and we finished our paperwork in comfort. This Hotel is very attractive outside and the rooms have high ceilings that give one the feeling of being in an even larger room. Everything is spotlessly clean and pride of ownership shows in this nicely appointed hotel. On my next trip that way, this will be my choice for sure !!
Staff was excellent and made the stay. Rooms were very clean although I don't necessarily like the beds hotels are going to, I would most definitely stay here again. Amenities at front desk like candy and cokes were very reasonable as compared to other hotels charging high rates.
We stopped here beginning of 10/20 and then again on our return trip home the end of 10/20. We were very satisfied. Both times the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Today we checked in pretty early around 3pm and after settling in I went to front desk to ask about getting 2 cups of coffee. She told me were to get in (in breakfast area) and mentioned if it was out she would happily make some more for me and it would only take but a moment. I found coffee and on my way back to room she again mentioned if I needed anything to ask. Very refreshing. We found the room very clean and comfortable and bright. We slept well. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed having a large refrigerator (no freezer compartment but we don't ever expect that), a working microwave, a desk to work at, comfortable cushioned extra chair. The toilet was in same small room as the sink (sometimes we find a separate room for toilet and/or shower from the sink which is nice but not here). Considering the pandemic situation we found the breakfast very acceptable. They offer choice 2 of hot/pre-wrapped items which differs by day. Once they had breakfast burrito or egg sandwich (or both!). Also in refrigerato was individual milk containers and OJ as well as yogert. They did also offer grab and go bags which were nice. We felt they handled the food very well with everything pre-wrapped but still offering quite a large selection (which is one of the reasons we have always chosen BW). Overall we travelled about 8 days in October and found our stay here as one of the best of the 4 BW we stayed at. We will definitely stay here again the next time we travel to Texas. Breakfast was available 6am-9am and not to be missed. Convenient location right off of Hwy 20 adjacent to the frontage road (which BTW was 2-way traffic which I appreciate).
This hotel has a lot out front for large vehicles (RV's, Big Rigs, etc) it is also pet friendly. Our room was clean and spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was a breeze and the same with chick-out.
I recommend staying at the Best Western in Sweetwater,Texas i was welcomed at the front desk by kacee and she was so nice and throughout my stay everthing was perfect and comfy. The laundry was so clean and smelled so fresh that I personally had to thank the the laundry lady by the way her name is rhonda she works so hard then there is Anita our housekeeper she is always full of joy wen she comes to work makes the place feel at home with these three Hard workers i truly recomend the Best western in sweetwater Texas Thank You
We were doing a search across the State of TX and this site was a perfect place to lay over. They accommodated us with a very late (early hour) arrival and gave a late departure with out questions. The staff and hotel where both great.
Pulled in on a cold windy evening and we were greeting almost immediately but a smiling face at 10:30 at night. We got checked in a a minute or or two. Everything was clean a tidy. We had a small problem with our room and it was handled with speed and efficiency!! Check out was great as was the breakfast. We will certainly be stay there again!! Great job to all
Next time we will ask how close are we to the vending machines so our room isn't next to them so we can sleep .loved how the water pressure in the shower was so nice and the rooms where very clean other then blue tape on the walls showing where they need to fix or paint .
I had no issues staying here, booked online and was able to have my two dogs stay. Price for animals is extremely affordable. They were going through some renovations in the main lobby, but that didn't effect us at all. Only issue was the Murphy bed in our room didn't have sheets.
Easy off-on from I-20. Good value for the money. Good breakfast choices with a very nice server. Nice room with fridge and microwave, comfortable bed. Clean room and bathroom. Convenient to lots of fast food places
Had a great night here. Staff helpful and patient. Newer hotel and everything was clean and neat. The pool is small and the only problem were the stray cats laying around on chairs. I think that problem has been taken care of
Good location, clean hotel and rooms, plenty of hot water, good towels and sheets, comfy bed, good WIFI, guest self-serve laundry and mostly good staff are let down by the small breakfast area and lack of attention to detail by the breakfast attendant. Other than those correctable negatives, this property is very good, but could be excellent.
I say “surprisingly” because when we arrived, work crews were checked in and only smoking rooms were available. Our room was squeaky clean with no discernible smoke odor. Beds were very comfortable; the room was very quiet and comfortable. Desk staff was helpful and friendly. Room rates were very reasonable. When we left the next day, very early, there was a “grab ‘n go” bag with water and granola bars. Certainly recommend!
...and I can say it's a really nice place with a renovation about to be underwater. I do hope they keep a little Texas to it because it really gets OLD when almost every hotel seems to have the same feel to it. Anyways, the housekeepers are definitely on top of things because the place is very clean, my single king room wasn't overdone but just comfortable for a few days stay. Plenty of parking helps a bunch, too. Miss Danielle or Miss Raye have usually been at the front desk and both have been cordial and friendly. I've stayed at some places where the folks have been just plain rude which leads me to turn around and never come back.
Great place to stay when traveling between Dallas and West Texas or further! Check-in was quick and easy, our king bed room was immaculate, and very comfortable. The bathroom was of a nice size with a counter that was just right for someone who isn't too tall and a bathtub that has a normal distance from the tub to the ground. The water pressure in the shower was wonderful and felt great on muscles a little stiff and achy from driving. Check-out was also very quick and easy.
Hotel staff were very nice. Rooms were clean, house keeping was on the ball. Breakfast was comparable to most. Had my family that live in Sweetwater come to the hotel and we really enjoyed the pool. Will be staying there again on my next visit.
Stayed one night on a road trip from New Mexico to Texas. Late arrival, nice welcome (to us and our dog). Quiet and Immaculate room, extremely comfortable bed, great shower. The usual solid Best Western free breakfast. A tiny criticism, breakfast coffee seemed weak, even by Best Western standards. Definitely will stay here again.
Only stayed in this hotel one night while traveling, but didn't have a single complaint! Hotel was very clean, beds were comfy, hot breakfast was great...lots of choices. Front desk and breakfast staff were very helpful. Excellent value...we would definitely stay here again!
I only stayed one night, but the staff that I interacted with were all polite, friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed to make for a great stay. The free breakfast was good and plentiful.
I stay at this hotel from time to time for business. I've never had any issues. All of the staff is great and helpful. I would recommend this to friends and family. What I would say to other travelers is don't hesitate to book a room in this location. Very clean and very comfortable beds!
We have stayed here twice now and will continue for years to come. Hotel is very clean and welcoming. Pool and spa are clean and perfect for relaxing after a long day's travel. Beds are very comfortable!
the staff here was awesome ! the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast had in wide variety of selections. The pool was very refreshing. Rebecca check in with me every day to see how mine and my son's visit was going. She even recommended things to do, and for that being a small-town oh, that was very appreciated.
Had no idea as to what to expect in Sweetwater but we were soooo please with our stay. A few specifics, the entire Inn was SPOTLESS...I mean REALLY clean. The room was massive...we had room to spread out and relax...much larger than a typical Best Western! The king bed was very comfortable and the pillows matched the bed in comfort. One of our best nights sleep on our trip across the Country (13,000+ miles and 73 nights). The front desk and staff were very friendly and helped us to find a good place to eat and wash our car! We were so surprised that it was so nice. Don't miss this place when you are looking in this area. I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised too. Thank You! Cheers, BlueWaterSailor
My husband and I were riding his motorcycle from Española NM to Houston, TX and needed a place to stop for the night. It's about 40 miles from Abilene, and it's difficult to find a place to stay there. We opted to stop at this Best Western Plus, and and it has friendly staff, reasonable rates for a king room, and a decent breakfast. It's an easy off and on from Interstate 20.
We had a very nice room.Very quiet being right off the interstate, Had great parking and easy access to room. Having to use the motel key to enter building made us feel very secure. Lots of eating places near by and having a Walmart near was a plus. People were so nice and helpful. If we are in the area and need a motel we will stay at Best Western Plus . We stay three nights and enjoyed the rest & quiet.
Very clean and comfortable. The staff went out thier way to correct the wrong room as I had reservation for two queen and non-smoking but system had it for one king smoking. I about freaked out but they corrected it promptly and very apologetic. The room was very clean and beds very comfortable. I would stay here again and recommend it.
We were greated like an old friend. There were cookies given to us and this hotel is pet friendly. There was a food and water dish sitting on a dog mat right by the reception area. The whole lobby is just screaming Texas. We were upgraded to a large room with plenty of towels and get TV. The breakfast area is small and the selections is limited but everything was tasty and well presented. We had to ask for cups as the breakfast lady was busy visiting with the reception clerk. Coffee is not real strong.
The Best Western Plus in Sweetwater has everything you need, including a comfortable bed! The breakfast is good and the hotel is clean. The rooms are very big and spacious. I will definitely stay again and will start booking at Best Western Plus for other trips we take. Very impressed with the value we received for this stay.
This is the second time I have spent more than one night at this hotel, as I visited family in Sweetwater. I recommend this hotel for its convenience on the north side of Interstate 20 and the accessibility to eating establishments and shopping (Walmart). It is also convenient for persons who have business at the local hospital. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good with a three hour serving time. I have encountered a diverse mix of fellow travelers and talked with some who have interesting stories of life and travel. My room was again on the back side of the hotel, and I had quiet nights of sleep. Good selection of TV programs. Outdoor swimming pool available.
Quick stay on the way to New Mexico. Staff was great at check in when we arrived late and again when we checked out. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Price was good and property is pet friendly. Would stay here again.
We stayed here on a trip across country. Friendly check-in, nice big room with big very comfortable bed, typical self serve breakfast with some hot items, only problem was a VERY slow internet. Very conveniently located close to freeway, but not noisy.
If you want a clean, comfortable and quiet room, with a great shower head. This is a great place. But in my most sincerest of warnings, don't depend on the breakfast for anything satisfying. And I mean anything. A complete disappointment. It was beyond tasteless, as some of it was literally inedible. It wasn't turned, sadly, just ill prepared.
This used ot be a Comfort Suites, but changed brand. That hasn't changed our opinion of the facility. The staff is super. The pet areas are well maintained, offering amenities that other do not have. The room is spacious, clean, and efficient. Near restaurants and the Interstate. Great place to stay!
Heading home to New Mexico, have too take our time due to blizzard in mountains. Decided to stay in Sweetwater, the front desk person was extremely helpful and kind. Smiled and whatever she could do to be helpful and welcoming.
We stayed in this hotel on a long cross-country road trip. Every hotel room in America should have beds like the one in our room at this Best Western. It was perfectly firm, with smooth sheets and a light comforter. My husband is still raving about the shower head. Updated decor. Good lighting. The room was quiet...absolutely no noise from surrounding rooms. Cookies on our arrival, and friendly staff. Highly recommend this property!
Friendly and informative staff, nice location, and good value considering how prices have gone up again along IH-20, plenty of parking. Reasonable selection of restaurants close by and with an easy access to highway
I'm sorry I didn't get the evening manager's name but she was great. Booked the room via TripAdvisor and didn't see the default arrival date as wrong. We needed the room that evening, not a week from. TripAdvisor didn't make it easy to correct my mistake, but I dug around and they posted had a helpful suggestion that worked with the cooperation of the hotel's management. Thank you TripAdvisor. I'm used to getting decent service from BW but they were wonderful. A local traffic accident drove extra business to the hotel and they could have easily sold their room to new guests or raised the price but they took care of us without hesitation and honored their original rate. Their continental breakfast was better than others I recently had at hotels in eastern Canada and New York. And the morning kitchen staffer was extra kind at my late entry into the breakfast room. You need good service? A clean room and comfortable rest? You'll find the best at BW in Sweetwater, Texas.
We grabbed this room via the internet as we were driving from one destination to another. We used the Best Western Web site and got the best deal. Very helpful staff, and the room was pet friendly and great price! Looked like a brand new hotel inside and out. Great Stay!
Best Western is by the best hotels to stay in. Always clean. Staff always friendly. Prices are very close from place to place. Beds comfortable, rooms clean, cold air conditioner. Nice size television.
Sweetwater is a town that has seen it's better days but this Best Western hotel is a good place to stay when in the area. A very pleasant staff, clean rooms at a very reasonable rate make this a must stay place when working your way to west Texas
Nice hotel, clean rooms and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was great and they have the best hotel coffee!!! Will stay here again for sure! Did not welcome us as Best Western Rewards nor offered any waters like other BW. Staff nice but not very friendly.
No complaints at all. A really great place to stay. Bed was super comfy, hot shower, quiet, strong A/C, and clean/modern appearance of hotel inside and out. Staff were super friendly. Parking lot was well lit. Excellent value!
Overall, this was a great hotel and I see myself staying here again in the future. I guess to go in order, upon entering the property, it was very clean and well kept looking. The two women at the front desk were very friendly and greeted me warmly upon entering and got me squared away with my reservation. The inside of the hotel looked just as good as the outside and was very clean in all the public/common areas. The room (a king size bed room) was clean and the temperature was nice and cool upon my arrival (it was a hot day). Everything was in order and in great shape from the A/C to the bathroom related items. My only downside on the entire stay was the bed was much firmer than I am used to and the pillows were a bit soft but that is just a personal preference thing so I won't knock them too bad for that (just be aware if you are like me). The A/C worked well through the night and leaving the next day was easy and straight forward. The location just off of the exit for I-20 was nice and there are plenty of restaurants down the road from this location. Overall, extremely pleased with this property and I highly recommend it!
I would stay at this hotel again. The only problems were as follows: 1) one of the closet doors was broken off its runner. One of the front desk staff just took it off and set it against the wall; 2) the ice bucket/cups/coffee maker and coffee supplies were in the bathroom! I just found that disgusting. I would like to see those items on the table that has the TV, or on the desk. How do I know how clean those items really were?
Nice place to stay. They have ample truck and trailer parking right off I-20. This is a HUGE plus for me. The breakfast is nice and I almost always eat it before I depart. The internet here at this one is not good. Kept dropping and I finally just gave up.
I don't remember the employees name, but she was so friendly! We checked in late Friday night 2-16-18, she deserves a compliment! We are diamond members and always stay at this particular hotel anytime we are passing through Sweetwater.
I had stayed in this hotel several years ago and since I was in the area, thought I would visit again. The hotel appears to have undergone some recent renovations and I found it to be as clean as a whistle. All staff I encountered were polite and friendly and appeared genuinely pleased to have you as a guest. Parking is plentiful and access on and off the interstate is easy and convenient. This convenience comes at a price. If you stay in a room that faces the interstate, then you will be serenaded all night long by the sound of passing traffic. Subsequently, even though the room was comfortable and well appointed, I was awakened throughout the night by the sound of traffic. I also was unable to watch more than 10 minutes of television before signal was lost and did not return until sometime in the night. The hotel elevator creaks, rattles and groans when in use, making you wonder if it is on the verge of breaking. The hotel is a good value for the money, breakfast is not spectacular, but it is good and the convenience makes it a good place to stay, just try to get a room on the back side of the hotel and be aware of the creaky elevator.
We used this chain through out France in September. So pick for our lasts road trip in the United States. As you would expect, well located on the main road, plenty of parking and a free breakfast that will last you to midafternoon.
The room was nice and comfortable and clean. The problem I had was with the front desk girl. I went to Sweetwater for a FNRA meeting and someone else showed up and she said( oh, your here with that lady that is staying in room 118) . I thought that shouldn't have been her place to say anything! ??
Off the highway hotels and BWPs were never never meant to be resorts. This BWP Is clean, comfortable, affordable and the free breakfast helps get you on your way quickly. I used the fitness room and for its size was more than adequate and everything worked. We got a good nights sleep and we're ready to go. It's right for the price.
This hotel was great. The receptionist was extremely helpful, and the rooms were nice and very clean. The breakfast was hot, and good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only complaint we had during our stay was the owner was having a some kind of get together in the dinning area. The food they were cooking smelt bad.
The area does not have a lot to offer. the staff were nice. The Room bed was good. The Tv had limited channels. the Restaurants in the area were mostly closed on Sunday. The morning breakfast was good.
Excellent location well staffed and friendly . Room clean and easy to reach. they could use a little more breakfast items, but what they has was good. I would stay there again. I also recommend this facility.
It's an excellent hotel and stay. I would highly recommend this location/hotel to anyone. The personnel was quite professional and courteous and the rooms met every expectation to the highest level that we were looking for in quality. Thank You.
Traveling with family is not always easy. This one wants this, then the other has to have this, Best Western meets everyone's needs and wants. My autistic son will only stay at a Best Western, so our stay overs are built around Best Western.
Loved the hotel, it was surrounded with great places to eat and easy access to highway. The staff was friendly and always asking if we needed anything. My husband stays here often when he travels out of town for work and only has great things to say about the staff. Felt very safe as it was only my sister and I on this trip.
We stayed one night! The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean! The room was very nice sized. The breakfast offered many selections and was fresh and hot. Make sure to go to Bucks their steak was amazing!
Front desk clerk called and woke me up at 6am and asked if I was checking out. Dogs barking from residential property behind hotel. Huge dog running around in room above feeding off of barking dogs outside. No compensation given for the extremely unpleasant stay. Definitely would not stay here again. I would rate this as the worst BW in the country.
Regular stopping point on our way out of Texas on our family road trips with our 2 Great Danes. Pros: decent sized rooms, comfortable king bed (a little too firm for husband), good shower and a/c. Decent breakfast - same as most BW. Cons: dogs barking & crying outside the back window at the run down house behind the hotel until fairly late. The owners finally brought them inside around 11pm. DOGS: pet friendly (not just tolerant), no size restriction, low fee ($25). Large, grassy, clean and safe potty area. I had one Dane needing and emergency bathroom break at 4am and felt safe. Would be improved by adding pickup bags but that's never a deal killer for us.
it as fast and easy in getting a room on a holiday weekend. Desk clerk was joyfu very bright to all the question that was asked and very helpful. Roomswear very nice, clean, and quality bed sleep could not ask for a better hotel to stay at in Sweetwater. Breakfast Bar dinning was wonderful and clean.
This was our first stay at this hotel. We will be back! Clean, convenient and quiet. The only issue we had was the TV did not have any signal. Our call down to the front desk to report was answered promptly. We were offered another room however it was already late so we chose to stay without working TV.
Prices they charge for these hotels is so high like our best hotels in Asia like Taiwan, Malaysia, even Hong Kong. I just don't see the value. Hotel is clean, beds are big with very nice linens. I will surely pass this town next time and spend my pass through time in Abilene.
Great price and great rooms. Stay here every month for business. Very Clean, staff always friendly, rooms are clean, no complaints at all. Breakfast is always good, nice location, and always greeted with excellent customer service.
We were well pleased with this location. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and fresh. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We. We needed help attempting to locate a certain food and they were so happy to help. We would stay here again.
Would stay again at this hotel. Don't like instant eggs. Adding boiled eggs would be great. Try sausage patties also. Fruit was good. Outside appearance is inviting and clean. Didn't like hotel guess smoking outside the front door.
Room was very clean, staff friendly, location convenient to nearby restaurants. Room on first floor was subject to other customers slamming doors early in the morning. Not the fault of the hotel-just thoughtless neighbors. Breakfast room very clean and good selection of breakfast foods.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Very clean spacious rooms and super comfy beds! No hallway or street noise. Breakfast could be fresher, wonder if they use microwave instead of oven, all kitchen prepared items were to hard to bite, as for fresh fruit it is apples only!
Stayed here many, many times now. Great location of Hwy 20. Great, friendly, helpful staff. Great beds. Clean. Outstanding breakfast. PET FRIENDLY..nice area to walk dogs. Good value. We can still get a smoking room that makes me very happy. We just LOVE this hotel and would recommend it highly to anyone!!!
Stayed at this Best Western Plus on 9/27/2017. Nice room, decent breakfast, and friendly staff. This was our second stay at this Best Western Plus; the first was 12/2008. The first stay was in a room away from the highway (I-20) and it was quiet. This time we had a room facing the highway above the entrance awning to the hotel. The road noise from the highway was untenable; very loud. It was so loud we had to use earplugs (which I fortunately had from a previous international plane flight) just so we could go to sleep. My wife mentioned the road noise being very bad at checkout so they could address it. The front desk person just told her next time they would put us in a room away from the highway; that doesn't fix the problem. I would stay here again but only if my room was away from the highway!
Nice hotel, nice staff, but the road noise in our room was very bad! We even tried ear plugs, but the noise was still bad. Noise wasn't as noticeable in the lobby, but the rooms facing the highway were bad.
This Best Western Plus was just OK. It is easy to get to from the free way. Staff is slow but friendly. Room was clean but sheets old and stained. Bed was comfy. Dogs bark in yard outside back of motel, ask for a room on the front side unless you don't mind hearing dogs all night.
i stay at Best Western quit a lot and i know things like this happen, We checked in after 9 pm and went out to eat when we got in our room it was late and the AC and the shower was not working. least to say it was not very comfortable.. This is the first problem that I have ever had, and its not going to stop me from booking with them again
Carry if you are going to stay here. Panhandlers and spooky characters in the outside area. Does not seem safe. My wife way immediately shocked by the outside experience. When you pull up and someone is almost immediately approaching you asking for money, you want to ask for your money back.. After all, when I made the reservation I expected some level of safety and security. Unfortunately, the consumer has no recourse except to never stay there again. The room had crickets which I had to capture and flush down the toilet before my wife would enter. The paint was peeling from the wall in the bathroom.. The breakfast eggs looked like they were floating in water.
Staff was so helpful and professional. My stay while on business was great. Clean updated rooms. Great breakfast. Staff went above and beyond to help me. Great value prices. Slot of the people getting away from hurricane was there
Excellent facility at a very reasonable price. Full breakfast included. Pleasantly surprised! Right off I-20 - easy off/on. Would definitely stay again. Clean, fresh and comfortable with very friendly and helpful folks.
Great Value - Very clean, courteous and helpful staff; very good breakfast (hot and cold) with several options - even had individually wrapped homemade chocolate chip cookies for guests at front desk when you checked in - will stay here again when in the area
Driving from NM home to TX though nasty thunderstorms, we decided to stop for the night. The price was right, staff very friendly (Bianca), rooms very clean, quiet and comfortable. Just typing words here because TA wants at least 200 characters before I can submit.
Room was clean and quiet - very spacious for a handicapped/disabled room. Staff was friendly and welcoming every time I encountered someone. Breakfast Room had a friendly and helpful person on duty who paid close attention to keeping things supplied. My three night stay was comfortable, and I felt safe as I came in and out visiting family in the town.
Great place to stay in the Sweetwater area. The hotel is clean, the staff is helpful and it has great access to restaurants along I20. I stay here when I drive to New Mexico. The hotel is pet friendly.
The wife and I love to travel. When we travel out West as we did in July, I usually stay at Best Western motels, and look especially for those that are designated as "Plus." This location failed to impress! First look, was trying to see where the office was located. It was impossible to see from the road as the front yard was covered with large trucks, often a red flag. Check-in was easy, taking only a few minutes. Our room was on the back side of the 3rd floor, usually a quiet part of the building, as it was a residential area behind the unit. While the hall area in front of our room's door was covered in dog hair, the room itself was clean. The king sized bed was adequate. The TV worked great .. was a larger flat screen with a good picture, and the wifi was worked fine. The reason, other than all the truckers and workers, that I question whether this unit qualifies as a "Plus" is threefold... First .. the a/c, while it cooled the room, every time it would restart the compressor would make a horrible noise as it restarted. Second .. the bathroom was moldy and smelly, leaving much to be desired (note pictures below). First time in hundreds of motels there was not a working toilet paper holder. Also, the water ran slowly but continuously in the toilet, meaning, it would refill continuously as well. It was not possible to get it to stop. Third .. the breakfast room had four tables with 16 chairs, for what, maybe 200 people staying at this hotel? The selection seemed good, just had to stand around holding anything you selected to eat. Guess their purpose is to discourage folk from having breakfast prior to hitting the road once again. It worked for me. Our next trip through North Texas .. we'll choose someplace else other than BW in Sweetwater.
The room was ok, however, I stressed that I sleep days and needed a quiet area. They put me in a lower level room that backed up to a neighboring dog run and so sleep during the day was out of the question. I also left a shirt there, when i called they said they would mail to me. Haven't seen it yet. Offered to pay for shipping. Anyway, customer service goes a long way & lack of sleep didn't help my review.
This is the best Best Western Hotel we have ever stayed in. The room was very comfortable and roomy. The king bed was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful in selecting a restaurant close by. Best breakfast ever!
We were tired when we checked in and needd a good room at a good rate. Thats what we got!!!! Pamela at the fron desk was great!!!!!!!! She was very friendly and very informative. She told us the best places to eat and gave us a very nice room. We could not have been happier. It all starts at the front desk! Way to go Best Western!
Have stayed here several times and always excellent experience. Clerk at checkin was not friendly at all although she did call after we got to room and ask if everything was satisfactory. Other than that, bed is comfy, room clean and breakfast adequate. will stay here again
I did a review on Trip Advisor also. The service from check in to cheek out was awesome. Every employee was friendly, very helpful( and very courteous. The room was spotless. The shower was superb and the air conditioning was very good. Very comfortable bed. Full complementary breakfast was full and delicious. Easy access on and off the highway.
If you are in the area and need a pace to stay stop off here!! We were impressed with the lobby and staff. The room was very large (for the price) and comfortable....great value. Staff suggested and great place to eat and we had the best food on our long coast to coast drive...thank you BW
I've stayed here several times. It is a great place to stay and is dog friendly. Once I stayed on the I-20 side and could hear the traffic a good bit. A fan helps. Last time was on the back side and it was super quiet.
We had booked reservations several weeks before our stay, and confirmed them with the hotel the day before our arrival. When we showed up, they didn't have a room for us because they over booked. The lady behind the counter was apologetic, and called the manager (who lives in another town). The manager didn't care about the problem they created for us, or the fact that there were no other rooms in Sweetwater that weekend. Not only will I never attempt to stay at this Best Western ever again, I will never stay at any Best Western. I'll drive the extra distance to a nearby Marriott hotel, where I stay on average 75 days a year, and have never had this problem.
Nice comfy hotel with first class employees! They really took care of our needs and honored their obligations to our reservations on busy holiday weekend. Felicia and Sharelle are the best!! Professional and caring which is rare in business situations today.
Terrible Customer Service. Made reservation a month prior confirmed reservation day before only to find they over booked and didn't have a room available didn"t try to find another hotel had to find one myself
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Very very clean. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Very friendly staff. I loved staying here in Sweetwater. I 100% would come back! Breakfast was good as well.
Very nice, clean and new hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy on and off access to I-20. The only thing we didn't like were the beds. Although they were very comfortable, they were very high off the floor and since we are both short people, it was very difficult for us to get in and out of the bed. Otherwise, I would have rated this excellent.
We planned our stop here thinking we had been here before, but it turns out it was a completely different chain. We were very pleased with the size of the rooms, the comfortableness of the beds, and the size of the bathroom. We also enjoyed being able to get together in the dining area as a family to play a game in the evening in a comfortable setting.
We always stay at this hotel when we go to West Texas. The rooms are always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The night we stayed at the hotel there was a high school baseball team staying on our floor. We were concerned that we would be awake all night with noisy teenagers. We slept soundly and comfortably and never did hear the kids. In fact they were polite and respectful. They offered us the elevator and they took the stairs. The team was the Lubbock Christian Eagles. Great kids, sponsors and coaches!
Stayed in the Best Western Plus in Sweetwater while driving back across Texas to Colorado. Modern, clean and a large, spacious room. Beware rooms on the front side, which face I-20 and its non-stop truck traffic all night long -- not necessarily loud, but certainly noticeable as a truck drives by every 15 seconds or so. So ask for a room on the side opposite the highway if you can to be safe.
We have stayed here twice during our regular travels from New Mexico to Arkansas. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they accommodate dogs, which is important to us. We will stay there again on our next trip. The only shortcoming is that Sweetwater needs some more resturants.
We travel a lot for work and I have to say this is one of my favorite places to stay. The staff is always pleasant and helpful and the rooms are very clean. It is almost always quiet here. We didn't try the breakfast this time and it's been several years since we were in this area. We so appreciate the staff and their kindness. Please let Desk clerk Rebecca and the day clerk too ( didn't catch her name) and the housekeeping staff know we think they do a great job!
Awesome night clerk made a bad day sooo much better, would not stay in any other hotel in the area would always come back here. The night clerk lovely lady made me feel at home, wonderful room, and I was able to smoke, which was awesome as I was soo tired did not want to leave the room once I laid on the bed. Would have stayed longer if it were possible.
This is my finally wish to see my Dad, and family, and my fàvioret aunt before I pass away I had 5 brain suguies , so the give me 6to1year to live, so they made my stay exaltations , thank you so much I love the best Western in sweetwater Texas
My brother and I came to Sweetwater for the annual Rattlesnake Roundup. I booked the room online thru Best Western and the rates were very reasonable. Everything was in order when we arrived, front desk personnel were friendly and very efficient both checking in and when leaving. The room a double queen was spotless, everything worked, plenty of quality bath towels, the usual complimentary toiletries, in room coffee, and refrigerator. Free wifi and morning breakfast. The buffet style serve yourself breakfast was hot and kept well stocked by the nice young man who was in charge. I think the breakfast buffet would have something for anyone. Ample parking, including a very large lot for campers, motor homes, or 18 wheelers. The swimming pool was sparkling clean, but it was to cold for a swim, and a fitness center was available also. There is easy access to I20 and restaurants are nearby as well. The area appears very safe. The only thing I found odd, was that there are ice and soda machines on 1st and 3rd floors, but none on 2nd floor which is where our room was. As said I found this odd, but it didn't effect the enjoyment of our stay. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Spotlessly clean. Staff had a great attitude even on the busiest weekend of the year (rattlesnake round up). Breakfast area could use a couple more tables, but food was good. Sausage, eggs, salsa, waffles, Biscuits and gravy and plenty of fruit. The WiFi was terrible. The password page did not autoload, and no directions were given on how to login. Called the front desk and got directions. An hour later, the page finally downloaded. Overall, this is a great place to spend the night. Just do not expect much from the wifi. ps, $15 for a pet is much cheaper than most hotel.
This is a nice place to spend the night should you be stopping in Sweetwater. It was clean, quiet and easy access from I-20. The rooms are nice size and the bed was very comfortable. The people working here all were very friendly both at the front desk and in the breakfast area. Breakfast was pretty much in line with what you find at most motels, nothing more or nothing less. The biggest plus at breakfast was the cleanliness It was spotless and the young man working the area was continually cleaning or re-stocking the food items. We didn't have a pet but the place does have a wing that is pet friendly which is nice for those who do travel with their four legged friends. We would not hesitate to spend the night here again should we be in the area.
Very nice hotel, clean, we'll kept. Pet Friendly with $15 fee. Very reasonable. Super friendly staff. On the way across country very comfortable stopover. Near Food and easy on and off Interstate 20. Would definitely stay again on future trips.
First time at this property, and the owner is conscious of doing a good job of providing quality accomodations. Lots of BW pptys I've encountered are owned by peeps that don't seem to want to keep the ppty in good shape. This one is well-kempt with working amenities :-)
Stayed here for a little getaway. We came with some friends of ours. The men were going hog hunting and The girls were just going to see The sights. The staff was super friendly and the hotel was well kept. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. The only drawback is there is not a lot to do in the immediate area but Abilene is a short drive away and has enough to keep you entertained for a couple of days.
Checked in late on our way out of state. Pros= dog friendly with large grassy potty area, big room, comfortable bed, helpful and warm staff, good breakfast w/eggs & sausage, clean & well stocked bathroom, we were on the freeway side and it was still quiet, convenient location to freeway and gas, Big Boys BBQ (so good!). Cons: no pickup bags or trash cans in potty area for dogs.
My wife had to spend a couple of days in Sweetwater for some meetings and we stay here. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff was great and really made us feel welcome. The breakfast in the morning had a good variety of things to choose from, and overall was good. We will stay here again.
We had a first floor room facing the very busy I-20. I was pleasantly pleased that, although not silent, it was satisfactorily quiet. Noticed no room to room noise. Room was spacious and clean. A/C worked well. Breakfast was typical but hot and tasty. Quite a few fast food restaurants and convenience stores nearby - even within walking distance. This hotel was a good value for the price.
Bianca was helpful, accommodating our early arrival. The room was clean and housekeeping staff friendly. The fitness center has some broken equipment just lying on the floor and the remote needs replacing. The vending machines were not working. It would have been nice to have hot water for tea available all hours. I thought the furnishings and decor were pleasant. Wi-fi was non-existent (slow slow slow).
The reception staff was friendly and pleasant. The room was clean. The pool area was nice. The exercise room had 3 cardio machines and one weight machine. The breakfast had a nice assortment of food: cereal, biscuits and gravy, eggs, pastries and waffles. Easy access to the interstate and many fast food places nearby.
This is one of the best hotels I stay in, pleasure or business. It's clean. It's well managed. And it is very reasonable in price. The included breakfast is better than most hotel offerings and there is a watchful attendant making sure nothing runs low. And, unlike a lot of other hotel breakfasts, it tastes like real food. That's because this hotel has pride in how they present themselves to the public. The staff is warm, friendly, and helpful. They deserve a raise because they reflect well upon the hotel.
I stayed at this hotel from Sunday thru Wednesday 2-5 Oct 2016. I must say everything g about the hotel was exceptional. The two girls that worked the front desk while I was there were exceptional. Very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They both went beyond the call of city to make sure my stay was pleasant t. They should be commended. The hotel had a full breakfast bar that was truly delicious. Bacon, ham, sausage gravy, biscuits, eggs the works. The hotel wax very clean, rooms are huge, beds are very comfortable. Cleaning staff did a great job daily. I travel a good bit, and can rate this particular hotel among the best I have stayed at. I will stay there every time I return to this area. Great hotel, great food, great service, and great people. Very nicely done. Way to go Best Western. Lowell Barden. Lakeland, Fl
I stopped at this hotel en route to Midland from Fort Worth about a month ago. Based upon the level of service quality of the facility and price, I decided to consider this hotel as mu my regular stopping point. This time I arrived after midnight and I was offered a wheel chair access room as the lowest cost non-smoking alternative by the BW reservation center. The room more than met my needs.
The staff at this hotel knows the meaning of Texas Hospitality. Our room was very clean and was maintain that way during our stay. The breakfast was great and the lady that prepared the food for very nice. The check in and check out process went very well. The pool was well maintain. I like the security hear you had to use your key card to get into the pool area, the laundry room, and the business center. This prevented unauthorized personnel from using the facilities.
We stopped on our way heading to DFW, and were not disappointed! The two women behind the desk were warm and friendly (and even called the room to make sure we were happy with it!), and also gave information on the best place to eat that wasn't too $$$. All in all, we'd definitely recommend this place :)
Hotel is clean; staff are pleasant; and it accepts pets ($15 fee). Furnishings are a little shabby -- could use an upgrade. Sweetwater has a lot of bugs, but this Best Western was pretty much bug free inside (not so the parking lot).
Excellent service and clean rooms! From the time we arrived, the service was great and the room met all our expectations. Also the soundproofing in the rooms was great. I slept like a baby! The locations was excellent, right off the highway so it was easy to get back on our trip in the morning. The staff was courteous and helpful and fast and efficient. The room was very clean and had all the amenities one would ever need. All in all I would say it was an excellent stay!
On my way to Midland (unable to complete the entire drive), this hotel provided a good place for rest and getting organized for meeting. Room was nicely laid out for working while snacking from the breakfast.
excelent pewt friendly room very nice and very clean Kudos to cleaning staff. pet rooms often smell like pet rooms but not this oneand the breakfast was excelent ! expected coffee and a roll and got biscuits, gravy, bacon,Danish, eggs cerials, juice as good as dennys.what a treat! we will use Best Western as our go to motel website from now on.
We love the breakfast and the extremely friendly and helpful staff. We always stay here when we are in the area. The comfortable are a big plus. Rooms are always clean. The staff here are a big reason we choose to stay here.
Love this hotel in Sweetwater. The rooms are spacious, clean, pretty, quiet, and smell good. The beds are very comfortable. I was lucky enough to have a suite on the second floor with a comfy chair and couch as well. It's located right off the I -20 within 1/2 mile of several restaurants. Nice outdoor pool area with a hot tub which was also well kept. The staff is exceptional from the front desk to housekeeping. They make every effort to welcome visitors and are informative about things to do in Sweetwater. Nice hot breakfast which varies a little day to day. They have all the amenities of Best Western Plus hotels: laundry, work out room, business center, elevator etc. I plan to stay here whenever I'm in the area.
The staff was very pleasant. Check in was quick and easy. The room was clean and comfortable. We requested a quiet room away from the highway. There was a nice selection for breakfast and the eating area was clean.
Nice and clean room, the beds Wear comfortable, good breakfast, near by the city and highway. a little pool arear but it was not clean up for long time. no place to sit outside. information was very good
The total personnel were very accommodating and friendly. Facility was in excellent condition and breakfast offering was exceptional. Parking was plentiful and nearby restaurant was very good and very reasonably priced.
Great visit. The room was clean and quiet and had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly. and conscientious. The breakfast offerings were good. Only confusion was about the pet fee. I read the pet policy online and misunderstood it, believing we needed to pay only a $15 deposit for our entire visit. My decision to stay at this hotel was based on that understanding. Turns out it was a nonrefundable $15 fee/day. At check in they have a sign that is very clear. I would suggest rewording the online description to match that of the sign at check in.
We were traveling for 17 hours. Just looked up hotels and this one came up. It was very nice and clean. Just stayed 1 night . the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good. The service at the front desk were very friendly.
This is a great hotel. The rooms are very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was great! A clean room means a lot when you have a 9 month old crawling on the floor. The staff was friendly and courteous as well. I highly recommend this property. It was the best hotel we stayed at on our trip.
The room was clean, quiet, and much larger than expected. The staff was fantastic- very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hot and had a good variety. We will definitely make this our stopping point each year between Arizona and Austin.
staff at the front desk was very friendly even at 340am in the morning when we arrived and gave us excellent service. She went out of her way to make sure we were ok with the room. I like that the location was pet friendly even tho we didn't have any pets. would highly recommend this location to stay if coming to Sweetwater tx.
Great service - Friendly & helpful staff - Great rooms - Smoking rooms still available - Could have our dog - Nice area to take your dog out - Fantastic hot breakfast - Nice pool. We love this hotel and have stayed here many times. Would highly recommend to everyone!
The room was clean, bed comfortable, overall appearance appealing. I was surprised at the appearance of the check in staff, too many tattoos. Overall the professional side of the staff was lacking in appearance and interaction.Staff appeared to want to interact with each other rather more than the customer. Customer service training would be helpful.
Very nice! Everyone was very sweet and we really enjoyed your roll in shower room. One of my favorite roll in shower bathrooms so far! Great job! We checked in at 3AM and the front desk was sweet and helpful! Much appreciated after a very long drive. The handicap room fits my disability very well! Thank you!
Just an over night stay on our way West. Room 104 was very clean, bed was very comfortable and breakfast was very good! Staff was friendly and talkative. Great value for the money. Would recommend to others.
This was the one and only times we have had a problem with Trip Advisor and it's not clear who was really at fault. We made the reservation about 45 minutes out of Sweetwater and got a confirmation from both Trip Advisor and Best Western. When we got there, though, the room we reserved (a king) was not available and nothing was available at the internet price. After some serious discussion, they did, however, agree to give us a king suite for the same price. Not a real enjoyable way to start the evening. But the room we finally ended up with was spacious and nice. The included breakfast the next morning was above the average quality of most hotels. If I were to do it again, I'd also try to get a room on the back side of the building as there was quite a bit of interstate noise.
I really wondered if bed linens/sheets had been changed/washed. Other than that its a good place to stay. Had to stay at this location because booked late and nothing else available in the area. This was our second time staying at a BWP and both times we questioned cleanliness of bed linens. Not sure if there will ever be a third stay.
This is definitely someplace I will stay again and recommend to all my business associates and friends. I also race dirt bikes and travel often and will recommend this hotel to them as well if they are passing through.
Living in the Phoenix area with relatives in Mississippi I have stayed at this establishment off and on for the past ten years not only because it is about half way between the two places but because the staff is always friendly and helpful and the facility is always "spic n span".
I've never had a problem staying at this hotel. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Nice clean and roomy room. The wifi was good, but I had to keep reconnecting if I was off the internet for a while. Good speed though. Breakfast was good. Eggs, bacon and biscuits and gravy. One morning they had cheesy hashbrowns. Plus the usual hotel assortment of goodies. The bed was a little firm for me, but still comfortable. A 9, not a 10. This is a hotel I can count on for a good stay after a hard day. Thanks.
What a great experience with the friendly staff and the comfort of my room. I found the bed so comfortable and the room very clean. I've stopped here once before and will come back whenever I'm coming through this area.
The employees were so friendly and helpful, from making the reservation, to check in, and breakfast. Rooms were also nice, clean and comfortable Location was great for going out to eat with many choices very close. I would definitely stay here again.
I was visiting my grandson. My room was very nice and very clean. Some construction in the lobby area, but the staff was very apologetic. Breakfast was very good. Overall a very pleasant experience. Will definitely stay here again as I will be traveling to Odessa often.
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights while visiting family. The room and bathroom were clean the carpet was worn out and should be replaced. It was icky in some places. We had no problems with the check in staff they were very nice and super helpful. They gave us a senior citizen discount we didn't even know we were eligible and had no other type of memberships or discounts. We did not eat breakfast there so I can't rate the breakfast but it smelled good when we passed the lobby. It was a nice stay.
Not only are our dogs welcome, the rooms are nice and moderately priced. There are good restaurants nearby. We route ourselves through Sweetwater just to stay at this BW instead of other towns where hotel prices have skyrocketed.
Always welcoming to us and our cats. We stay here both going to our ranch and going back to our city home. It is about halfway between the two. There is always room to park even if we are pulling a trailer.
The staff are friendly and super helpful. They went out of their way to get me ice for my knee, extra towels, and blankets. The breakfast choices are many and varied. People with diabetes will enjoy the bacon, eggs, sausage. Also, breakfast burritos, Texas sized waffles, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, pastries, toast, bagels, juice, tea, and coffee. Love the variety!
This would be a much nicer place if someone would learn how to keep the place clean. Walking down the hallway and all I can notice along the edge of the walls is dust, dirt, & crumbs. My rooms was nice, but when I shifted the receiver under the edge of the tv enough dust and dirt fell down for me to write my name in. The shower had a large mildew stain on the soap dish.
This is an excellent hotel for on-the-road travelers -- whether for business or pleasure. The breakfast lady is great and she tries to make breakfast "special" -- not the ordinary BW stuff. Rooms are nice and roomy -- not Hampton Inn small/tiny.
Not much to pick from in Sweetwater but this one was ok. Room was clean, bed comfortable and decent breakfast fare. We were on the first floor, which I don't normally do. The people above us got up several times during night and woke early. We also could hear people in the hall. Aside from noise, not a bad place to stay.
It's a great hotel to stay on. It's clean! The people here are friendly. The people gives good advice on where to eat. This place beats the rest of them. Just wished I could stay another night to be pampered. The wake up call was on time. The breakfast was great.
Everything about the hotel was more than adequate. The breakfast was similar to other hotels, except the breakfast burrito was stone cold and no where to warm it. The biggest aggravation was the lack of hot water. When I complained I was td they were working to correct it. We had to checkout before it was fixed.
I travel 6 days a week and whenever I am in the Sweetwater area I always stay at the Best Western. The staff are very friendly and helpful in any way that they can be. The rooms are extremely nice and tasteful and the beds are absolutely number 1. It is always quiet, and always clean!
The one night stay was enjoyable and quiet. After being on the road all day, check-in was quick and painless. The staff was courteous and helpful. Room was clean and without any issues. Internet made work easy and without issues.
Everybody went above and beyond to make my stay a comfortable one. The whole staff from the front office to cleaning staff. If ever back in this area I would definitely stay at this location in Sweetwater Texas.
Good beds, clean, and plenty of hot water. This BW has the best breakfast of any place I've stayed in a long time lots of choices all fresh and hot . Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is good too. Especially if pulling a trailer. I will stay again when in the area.
