Classic hotel but conservative repairs and refurbishment ongoing which is good as I experience so lighting, heating, hot bath not working at first. But they had excellent customer relation which fixed all that. Breakfast was also good
Thank you for your review
I think that is will be helpful for those international students or the exchange one because they will spare you half the price because they make the rooms more affordable. And also they are very nice when it comes to international students
Thank you for your review
The room was clean but the Hotel smells of mold. The breakfast was disgusting and I have cancelled my next booking
Thank you for your review, I am pleased you found your room in a clean order. Rather an odd thing for you to stay about the hotel smelling of mold, as we are part way through a complete refurbishment so could understand if you said we smelt of paint currently. It is a shame you didn't speak with the breakfast team or hotel management about your concerns whilst you were here rather than just cancelling your future booking.
We stayed here for one night to be close-ish to Alton Towers. The price was competitive. The food in the bar was freshly cooked and excellent. The lady at Reception was lovely. The car parking 'felt' a little bit unsafe, but our car was fine. The room was charming. If you want something without character, then book a Travelodge. This hotel is bursting with character. We got up early for Alton Towers so didn't have breakfast.
Thank you form your lovely review and feed back, I am delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. I hope we can welcome you back again in the future.
We booked this hotel last minute after being caught in a terrible situation on the M6. There had been an accident, and after already being stuck in the car for 8 hours, we were facing another 4 hours to get home with the kids. We had no idea where we were or even which way we were going, so finding this hotel was such a relief. From the moment we arrived, Ryan and Michelle were absolutely fantastic. They were extremely friendly, welcoming and reassuring, and made us feel completely at ease when we were tired, stressed and unsure of what to do. A huge thank you to Ryan and Michelle for making a difficult and unexpected night so much easier. We really appreciated their kindness and hospitality. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome!
Thank you for your amazing review, I am delighted the team exceeded your expectations and made you feel welcomed
Don't judge a book by it's cover. Have had a really great stay here over last couple of days, Kyle in the bar and the lady on reception (apologies didn't get your name if you read this!) provided great service at checkin and in the bar both nights. Hotel room was clean (currently undergoing renovations) and bed was comfy. Food was delicious and in my opinion good value for money. Noise level was no issue at all, with a great atmosphere in the hotel (peaceful at the time of writing)
Thank you for your lovely review, I am delighted your stay with us was so enjoyable.
Nice greeting but that was about it, Room was poorly decorated even though it was supposed to be just done, eg painted over rotten wood stains in carpets ,shower wouldn't move up and down, tiles had holes in where previous items were fitted , plumbing was noisy kept us awake all night and my biggest concern was the water was warm and taps were scaled up absolut perfect condition for legionella to breed, Hot breakfast was cold and we both had tummy upsets while we stayed tbh feel like calling Environmental health over the condition, I complained and they offered me a 20% discount for my next stay , TBH im not going back, Compaired to other BW hotels ive been in its the worst one by far
Please accept my sincere apology once more , I am sorry that you were not happy with your room, had you of expressed this to the reception team at the time we would of been more than happy to offer you a complementary upgrade to a room more of your taste. Like wise had you asked the service staff at breakfast for freshly cooked breakfast items from the kitchen the team would of only been too happy to oblige.
I booked this stay as "pay on arrival" but they actually took the money off my card 4 days before i stayed, when i phoned to query this i was told it was an overzealous member of the night team who had taken payment too early and a refund wouldnt hit my account until after my stay anyway, the actual stay itself was ok, the room was a good standard and clean, the staff were friendly, as a wheelchair user it was a bit of a pain having to phone reception to be let in the basement entrance every time i got back to the hotel as they didnt answer the bell, i do understand that this entrance cant be left open for security, but maybe a system where it can be accessed with a room key or even a video entry system would be better. The breakfast was adequate, the staff member was very friendly but the sausage black pudding and bacon were very dry as they were under the heat lamp far too long
Thank you for your review, your feed back is very important to us and your points raised will be discussed with the team
Don't often post reviews on hotels but after some of the comments towards the hotel and people who previously stayed here and the staff who continue to work there that I've read on social media I thought it only fair to give a balanced review. The truth that you can decide for yourself. We usually stay at Premier Inn Trentham Gardens but was well outside our budget this time. Parked in the car park and immediate thoughts were the full place needed a paint job outside. It's a mess but so is a lot of the local area. The council really need to do more in Hanley to drag some of the area up. Arrival at the front door was greeted with a painting team doing works to the entrance and all very polite, moving their stuff to let you in and out. The maintenance team are working at different levels of the hotel as part of it's refurb and you will see works ongoing at different parts. Floor 2 seems to be mostly done and we didn't hear any of the works so was quiet. Some people might complain but why would you if works are improving things. Can't remember the lady that booked us in but she immediately gave my daughter and myself a family room, 225 to the back of the hotel. No noise so perfect. You could tell everything in the room had been changed, new beds, new carpets, new furniture, new bathroom flooring. Really couldn't fault it for the price. Bathroom could do with a bit more work done on it if I was being picky. Bar was decent enough for a refreshment at night after the parks and both Kyle and especially Michelle (who I dealt with most) were friendly and helpful. Good pint with all systems newly installed. Breakfast was good and the tall gent with the glasses (never caught his name) was pleasant and nothing too much bother. He kept on top of clearing and cleaning. I would say (and it's not the staffs fault) that the breakfast room looks really tired, and grubby, it's maybe not a priority but could be looked at to freshen that up. I'm sure it's in the plans. We didn't eat dinners in the hotel but what was served to others looked decent enough, run of the mill food. We chose to eat outside and there are plenty of places near by. Major con, is how warm the rooms and Bennets Bar were. We had two fans in the room and we didn't sleep under the covers once at night and the bar is sweltering but it's an old building, no air con and unless you really struggle with heat, I'd say you will manage. Might be different outside summer months. Last word is to Paulie (spelling) who was a great help from first phone call and any interaction in the hotel with her was superb. A credit to your hotel. Would I stay again and was it value for money? The people, location and renovated rooms would probably make me stay again. We got a really good price for 2 nights. £139 for the full stay for myself and my daughter with breakfast. Had that been bumped up to the £200+ mark I'd probably stay elsewhere but that is great value. Hopefully it's the start of a major change for the hotel. Pool and fitness facilities are out of bounds just now but we wouldn't have had time for that anyway.
Thank you for your comprehensive feed back, I am delighted that the team made you and your daughter welcomed during your recent stay whilst you were attending Alton Towers, Your feed back is welcomed and will of cause be shared with the team. The refurbishment is a continued work in progress, and your positive comments really do spur us on to continue. I do hope we can welcome you back again soon.
Glad this hotel is back online always been our no.1 choice for stoke on Trent , the room we stayed in 207 executive was refurbished very tastefully and spotlessly clean can't fault it, the reception area the same , reception staff very nice and helpful, obviously not at full occupancy yet but we will be back later in the year to experience the hotel at it's best cracking bar and excellent breakfast
Thank you for your amazing review, it was our pleasure to welcome you back to stay with us again, I am thrilled that you found our newly refurbished bedrooms to your taste, I will of course pass on your kind comments to the team. we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
Catching up with a close friend, we were doing the steam train experience at Froghall station followed by the Wedgewood experience. Decided on the Best Western as we'd stayed in the past and always had a warm welcome. Even better this time with newly refurbished rooms at a special rate of £50 a night.
Thank you for your lovely feed back, I am delighted your stay with us was so enjoyable. I hope we can welcome you back again soon
The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment, and there are some areas that are not yet complete and not started yet, with a noticeable paint odor. The room itself was refurbisht clean nacely decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. However, the bathroom could benefit from refurbishment as there were several visible "snags" that detracted from its overall appearance. The staff at the reception, bar, and restaurant were all very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, though the coffee could be improved. The restaurant is definitely in need of refurbishment. The hotel's central location made it convenient to access everything I needed. I will certainly return again.
Thank you for your lovely review, we hope to welcome you back again in the future when you will hopefully benefit from our continued refurbishment.

Dear Joel Thank you for your amazing review, I am delighted your stay was so enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
Absolutely filthy Carpets disgusting Linen stained Whole hotel smells Staff are rude
Dear Tony Your review MUST be for another Hotel as our hotel was closed for refurbishment at the time you claim to of stayed here.
Avoid at all costs, unless you wanna catch something
Parked here- paid the parking fee £5 for 4 hours- the ticket machine does not take cards, so took all my change!) and a week later recieved a fine from Parkineye. Looks like nobody bothers to check if parking tickets are displayed at all! Several others (including guests at (Best Western)have reported the same experience online- park here at your peril- an hour or so can cost you £60!
Arrived on a coach trip, hotel was clean and smelt of fresh paint, went to dining room for our meal where it was terrible!!!! The food that was served was cold, soup as a starter cold! No bread rolls....meal was chilli rice chips, or veggie curry, chicken gougons dry bland and cold....dessert apple pie & custard cold....... told the member of staff about our complaint and he said I don't cook the food.... went upstairs to the bar and there was no draught beers or lagers available.....Definitely will not be returning
Dear tcmilly74 Thank you for your review, Please accept our sincere apology for failing to exceed your expectations during your visit. I am sorry that your dining experience was not a positive experience, please be assured your feed back will be discussed with our head chef and management team. I am unsure why you thought we had no draught beers as all draught lagers were available the only draught product we sold out of at the weekend was our draught bitter, however we had a selection of bottled craft bitters.
I stay at this hotel quite regularly... in it's heyday it would have been quite grand for the area and although clearly tired in a few places, it is being done up as I type this . The staff are all very helpful and willing with a genuine warmth and friendly 'can do' approach. On this occasion, my visit was a birthday present from a friend and perhaps as a result of being a regular, the hotel very kindly upgraded me to a suite which was very much appreciated. I shall be back again shortly and look forward to seeing how the refurbishment is progressing.
Dear Quaysider Thank you for your lovely review, I am delighted this your most recent stay was such an enjoyable one for you. I look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. Kind Regards Neill Stockill General Manager
