We came back — and now we know we will keep coming back. This was my second stay at Hotel Frantz in a short time, but this time I brought my husband to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. When we arrived, a beautiful handwritten anniversary greeting was waiting for us in our room. It may seem like a small thing, but it captures exactly what makes Hotel Frantz so special: genuine warmth, attention to detail and a staff who somehow manage to make you feel that you are not simply another hotel guest. The breakfast is truly exceptional, the atmosphere at dinner is wonderful, and then there is “our darling” at the bar — an absolute treasure who helped make our stay unforgettable. Hotel Frantz is stylish and beautiful, of course, but that is not really why we love it. The5 people make this hotel what it is. The rooms are tiny. We had 2 rooms and both had an awful smell. I was alone in my room - there was no space! There was no place to put a few toiletries and the 2 little shelves in the room were useless. We had nowhere to sit as a family with the bar always packed with people. The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was good! Not having an elevator is a problem and having to walk through building rubble to get to one's room is disconcerting. The Hotel is well situated.

Pros: - Location: Excellent. Perfectly situated close to the heart of the Old City and tourist sites, whilst being in the lovely Södermalm neighborhood. - Breakfast: An excellent combination of sweet and savory options, spanning the spectrum from healthy to indulgent. Cons: - TINY rooms. We are from NYC and accustomed to petit rooms. These rooms are impractical - no surfaces in the bathroom, not enough room to open your luggage, and certainly no room to swing a cat. This refers to the STANDARD KING, though other rooms may be more comfortable. If you're traveling as a couple, these rooms are wholly impractical (and we are a petit couple). - No practical common area. While there is a common area in the bar, it is packed with restaurant guests during the week, meaning that if you are not exploring the city, you are literally in bed.

We loved the old world charm of this hotel. The breakfast selection was superb, and one employee named Fabricio went out of his way to make us feel welcome, speaking in English and Spanish, and shared very helpful suggestions on Stockholm locations.

Location is perfect for the city visit, rooms are tastful, small but very cosy, extremely friendly and helpful service, wonderful breakfast, exceptional good cooking at night! Great experience, great recommendation.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Frantz, and like so many other reviewers, I can only agree with the praise. This is the best hotel breakfast we've ever had, and getting to enjoy it twice was a real treat. We couldn't have chosen a better hotel for our wedding night. The suite was stunning, and the service throughout our stay was incredible from start to finish. A special thank you to the wonderfully competent and friendly staff for the handwritten note. it was such a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more memorable. Stayed in Beginning of July for 2 nights in a family room. Hotel is in an old building, very boutique, its beauty is subjective. For me, the hotel was full of charm. Rooms are expectedly small but very chic. Family room had a king bed, plus another room with a bunk bed and desk. One bathroom that was on point for the type of hotel this is. Excellent staff from reception to breakfast. The breakfast was excellent, generous spread of food and super cozy. Location of the hotel is also very good, near to hustle and bustle, near to old town in walking distance, near to ferry and transport. One thing that needs to be said, NO elevator so be prepared. Good thing for future travellers, construction was going on for the elevator so that should be a relief once installed. I didnt take a star out because i knew they didnt have it and the whole experience is the charm of the hotel.

Hotel Frantz has a lot going for it on paper — the location is genuinely excellent, well-situated for exploring Stockholm without relying heavily on transit. The neighborhood has real character, and that alone makes it a reasonable choice for visitors who want to feel embedded in the city rather than parked in a generic hotel district. Unfortunately, the practical experience fell short in several ways. The room was notably small, not just cozy-small, but lacking in basic storage: minimal space to put away clothes, and nowhere useful to stow luggage. It made the room feel more cramped than its footprint already warranted. The hotel is currently without an elevator while one is being installed — something I was only informed of a few days before arrival, not at booking. For guests with mobility concerns or heavy bags, that's a meaningful omission. The construction also generated noise during the stay, which didn't help. Breakfast had potential but was undermined by a crowded, somewhat chaotic setup that made it hard to enjoy. Overall, a mixed stay. The location is a genuine asset, but between the small room, lack of storage, undisclosed elevator situation, construction noise, and hectic breakfast, there were too many friction points to recommend without significant caveats.

Perfect Swedish chic with a boho vibe. Beautifully appointed rooms, staff are delightful and the location was perfect. I recommend the restaurant for dinner, the food was perfectly cooked and their breakfast is 10/10. Freshly made pastries, cooked and continental option and lots of little extras. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Old, worn out, super small room, poor soundproofing, really expensive, couldn't get a receipt at all.

I stayed at Hotel Frantz with my husband for the second time. We loved it as much as in our previous stay, the room we booked was small but well organised, comfortable and clean. The towels are great, the bed very comfortable, and the breakfast is so good that it would be worth it to come and stay just for the breakfast. All members of the staff are super friendly, helpful and make you feel very welcome. The location is also excellent. I came in for the Stockholm marathon and it was so easy to get to it from Hotel Frantz, I got excellent sleep on the comfortable beds and came fully loaded from the great breakfast. I think I will always stay here when I travel to Stockholm in the future and I hope I will find many more opportunities to go there.

Forced to stay here on business due to coming during an expensive week in Stockholm. It's not a 4 star hotel, it's more like a hostel. Little amenities are missing - water, a kettle or something for a hot drink, the floorboards are something out of a 17th century dormitory. Mattresses cheap and uncomfortable; and god forbid you get a bunk bed room. Icing on top of the cake was the fact that tea towels are left out for you to dry your hands with. No cupboards or storage, lower your expectations.

I rarely write hotel reviews, but in this case I felt it was worth sharing my experience. I travel frequently for work and usually stay in five-star hotels, though from time to time I enjoy choosing smaller boutique and design-focused properties for a more local experience. I knew before arriving that the room would be compact, which I was perfectly comfortable with in principle. However, in reality it felt exceptionally tiny, especially considering the rate of EUR 400. There was barely enough room to move around the bed, and I found myself constantly keeping my suitcase on the bed because there was simply nowhere practical to place it. At that point, the room felt less “cozy boutique” and more impractical. In addition, there is currently no elevator due to ongoing works, something I was not aware of at the time of booking. Reaching the room required walking up three floors, across a bridge, and then down another floor, which became somewhat inconvenient during the stay. The hotel certainly has charm and character, and I appreciate the design-oriented concept. I simply feel that, at this price point, the overall comfort and functionality did not match expectations.

Great location. Fabulous and welcoming staff. Fantastic breakfast. There was a slight hiccup with my room which the team was so proactive in solving. The room itself is great but as a heads-up up there are no lifts yet. They are being installed... My only contention was the construction work which I was not informed about which started at 7 am on one of the days and during the afternoon on another day.

I am providing a review of the Franz Hotel with great pleasure. The hotel is located within a five minute walk to the old town, but location alone is not the reason that I would give this hotel a high rating. There are several other contributors to my positive review. Firstly, all of the staff that we encountered from the front desk to the servers in the restaurant to the bartender were so kind, attentive, caring, and helpful that both my wife and I were taken by surprise. We have traveled quite a bit over the past 20 years and have stayed in many hotels. The Franz Hotel was truly a very memorable experience. The hotel was built in 1647, originally as a private residence. It was converted to a hotel in the mid 1850s. It underwent a major renovation in 2019. Several points should be noted here: We understand that the rooms are unique and bespoke. Our room fit well into this description. The use of space was thoughtful and carefully considered as was the color scheme. The bed was exceptionally comfortable - from the pillows to the blankets and the mattress top. The hotel is now installing an elevator. The food at the hotel, especially the breakfast was superb. The variety offered, the attention to detail, and the careful preparation all added to provide a highly rewarding and satisfying experience. The bottom line here is, if you are seeking a cookie cutter, formula driven hotel experience, the Franz hotel is not for you. If you're seeking a hotel where the staff enjoys their work and pays particular attention to customer satisfaction and overall experience, the Franz Hotel is well worth your consideration.

The hotel was pleasant, well-located near the old town and the metro. We had a fairly large room, but it was very cluttered with furniture, so there was very little space in the end. The staff was pleasant and attentive, but making restaurant reservations was complicated. Moreover, on the second day I had booked, we were seated at a bad table. In fact, no table had been reserved for our room. We were disappointed with the restaurant (and breakfast room), which is small and noisy. The portions served are ridiculously small, making it impossible to have a good evening at the restaurant; we left hungry. (!) The food is otherwise well-prepared, so it's a real shame to serve portions that are more like appetizers than a main course. We ate much better at other restaurants afterward. The hotel restaurant should be avoided; it also doesn't have a good wine list and has practically no organic wines. Finally, it's not possible to have a cake and coffee on the terrace in the afternoon, which is a bit of a shame. The somewhat family-run atmosphere makes the hotel pleasant, but that's about it.

Fantastic staff and beautiful breakfast!

Excellent location and very good breakfast. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the room was well maintained and in good condition. It is more restaurant with rooms than a hotel so guest amenity are a bit limited and the room was smaller than we were expecting and ours unfortunately did not have a view. However as a base for a city break would highly recommend.

It was a great hotel, just smaller rooms. It was in a very convenient location and had the best receptionists ever! Super kind and helpful. I'd stay there again.

Great location for central Stockholm events and attractions. So close to mass transport and ferry services. Great F&B (breakfast was delicious).

Finally a hotel we want to return to in Stockholm. The location is great for access to everything and the building has character and a cosy feel to it. Our room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean with great lighting. Breakfast was excellent, the tray of Madeleine's hot from the oven was a special touch. There are certainly 'fancier' hotels in Stockholm, we've stayed in some, but this is the first that has met my expectations and we'll certainly stay again.

It's not just about the hotel itself it's a collection of many, location is good, the stylish appointments, the food are all that makes Hotel Frantz a great hotel. But most of all it's the people. What great attitudes and always so helpful and welcoming. A great big special thank you to Hilda, what an asset she would be to any business. I would definitely recommend Hotel Frantz.

This is a really good hotel. Location a minute from the metro station Slussen and short distance to many of the major tourist sites is perfect. If you have problems with stairs, make sure to book a room at a lower floor. There is no elevator and from the reception to the fourth floor is not a joke if you have a lot of luggage or e.g. bad knees. Otherwise, the top floor is a cozy place to be. Rooms felt very newly renovated and with a high quality. Breakfast is one of the best in Stockholm I would say, maybe not the biggest and no live chef stations etc but good quality and innovative choices. Very clean and very silent on the fourth floor at my visit. If you like Hotel Frantz, you will also enjoy the sister hotel Hotel Ruth, also in Stockholm (Vasastan). Very similar room decor, joyful breakfast etc. Not recognition of Best Western status if not booked directly on BestWestern site. For a company stay that is not always an alternative due to corporate booking rules. So, that could be an improvement.

We felt like royalty while staying at Hotel Frantz. We experienced personal, kind service, exquisite food and comfortable beds, all in a fabulous, atmospheric location.

The 4 and not 5 is because it was slightly noisy at night but we had a front room. Staff were very nice, breakfast was fantastic and the location was the best. Can easily walk to Gamla Stan, or take ferry or subway to anyplace else. You don't need car/uber/taxi to get around. I mistakenly took a taxi/uber from Central Station, subway would have gotten me closer. The room was very nice and clean. Would stay at Hotel Franz again.

Stayed the weekend to celebrate my 33 birthday. Had a lovely stay. Beautiful building, an authentic and lovely feeling to the place. + breakfast till 11, and serving strawberry cream cake. +++ Great morning Bloody Mary!

This was our second trip to Stockholm this year and both stays have been with Hotel Frantz. It is a beautiful old building with staff who were thoroughly professional and just lovely to deal with. Keep in mind, this is a classic building with a lot of history. There was no elevator in it in 1647 and that has not changed as of 2026. Stairs will be a reality. The charm and warmth of the place more than offsets that. The restaurant in the hotel is organized and efficient and the quality of the food is top-shelf. We enjoyed every meal we had there. There is a small bar as well which we loved spending time in and meeting fellow travelers. The north entrance to SLUSSEN rail station is just a few meters from the hotel entrance so you can grab the Arlanda Express train at the airport to Stockholm Central and then any of the trains heading south from there that stop at SLUSSEN. If you're moving with a purpose and catch the trains at the right time it might be 40 minutes airport to hotel or vice versa. Too easy. The hotel location in SODERMALM is perfect for walking to see the city center and museums. Nothing is too far. For anything farther the trains are right there and simple to sort through on the SJ app. Sweden, and Stockholm in particular, is a beautiful place to visit. Can't recommend it enough and Hotel Frantz just made it that much more enjoyable.

A gorgeously snug hotel in a brilliant location. The breakfast was superb, the bed comfortable, and the staff very helpful. We knew about the lack of lift in advance so that wasn't an issue but the glass-bricked bathroom wall was a bit of a surprise, and required choreography sharing a room with my teenage son. Luckily our room had a window seat that could be curtained off (a lovely feature in itself!). We were very close to the ferry and other sites, and enjoyed wandering round the local area.

Really lovely cosy hotel with super friendly, unflappable, helpful staff. An atmospheric building housing a perfectly judged little restaurant serving interesting sharing plates in the evening and brilliant breakfasts - especially for those with a sweet tooth! The location is very practical with a metro station on the doorstep (just 2 stops from the main station) and many of Stockholm's attractions within easy reach. Spotlessly clean and with exceptionally comfy beds (& great linen), the only tiny gripe was that our room was decidedly bijou: it would be fine with backpacks but having to store suitcases under the bed or on the window seat was mildly frustrating. Slightly larger bedside tables and an extra shelf in the bathroom might go a long way to help!

What a beautiful hotel - so much better than it appears on booking.com. The design was modern in a lovely old building and all the small details were thought of. Really comfortable bed, nice welcome message, quality toiletries and towels, and amazing staff. The breakfast was 10/10 and because I have an allergy the chef who makes everything in house (and even presses the juice herself!) took me through everything I could/couldn't eat which was much appreciated. I would 100% return it was fantastic. We had 3 flights of lovely old stairs upto our room - no lift as the building is from 1647. Just be prepared for this and don't complain!

Amazing experience! The room is very cool and clean, the breakfast is like nothing I've seen before (there's even a table full of cake!) and the staff is very nice - especially Nada, she gave me her recipe for the exquisite vegan chocolate oat balls from breakfast, they were so delicious. Big recommendation!

I have stayed in Hotel Frantz about 3-4 times both with family and my partner. It is by far the nicest breakfast I have ever had at a hotel, from the food to the arrangement of the dishes and vibe in the room- super cosy. That is why I will never stay in another Stockholm hotel! Rooms: The bedrooms are small, so not a spot if you have 3-4 checked bags coming with you, but no problem if you have a backpack each and a suitcase. Rooms are beautifully laid out, clean comfortable. Staff & hotel: Staff/ service is professional and friendly on every occasion, never any issues with noise (I have probably stayed 14 nights in total over the years and have had no issues). There is no lift so keep this in mind, but you can always request a first floor if issues with walking up lots of stairs. Book direct! Excellent value for the quality of the hotel and breakfast included- definitely book direct if you can for better value.

Overall lovely hotel, great breakfast/restaurant and the people working there were helpful and lively . There was not much space & luggage storage and we noticed a slight bathroom odour at times during the day. Recommend it! Very close to Slussen station as well.

Service was very good and polite and we felt very welcome from the beginning to the end. Our room was very pretty and stylish. It was a little bit smaller than I had thought but I didn't mind because it was super cozy. Bed was comfortable and tidy and the bed sheets were soft. Pillow was nice and firm. The room had nice curtains that made the room dark enough for a good night's sleep. The room also had well thought details. Breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever had and I've had many. The selection was big enough to have a nice variety but small enough to have a certain homey (for a lack of a better word) feeling. Everything was tasty and coffee was good which is important. Not too many vegan options but please mind that I had not requested for any. Still many options for a vegetarian. All in all I would recommend this hotel and if I am ever to visit Stockholm again I will make sure to choose this hotel. When we left, they wished us a fabulous year! I left the hotel with a big smile. Thank you!

Nothing but fantastic. The small bar and the lovely bar lady were exceptional, and the breakfast is nothing short of amazing. Great location overall. The only downside is that there is no lift, and Uber drops you about 200 m from the hotel because the surrounding streets are pedestrian-only.

We loved our stay at Hotel Frantz in Stockholm! The front desk and bar staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, which contributed greatly to our positive experience at the property. Our room was lovely and had a great view of the city for viewing the fireworks on New Year's Eve (highly recommend room 306 for this experience if you are able to request). The bathroom design is stunning - loved the tile work, fixtures, linens, and water cups (bathroom photo attached). Bed was super comfortable! Also worth noting that the breakfast is delicious! HUGE assortment to enjoy. Exceed expectations for a hotel buffet style breakfast. Lastly, the hotel is conveniently located next to the Slussen metro station which made getting around the city very easy. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

We loved our stay at Hotel Frantz. Exactly what we look for in a hotel - combining its long heritage with modern comforts. Amazing comfortable bed, exceptionally clean, and the most delicious breakfast. Fantastic location too. We had a room at the back of the hotel overlooking a lovely courtyard which made it super quiet too. Highly recommend.

Incredible location. 400 years of history seep through its walls whilst at the same time, it has all the modern amenities available . Amazing staff. So friendly and obviously all enjoy working there. The food was outstanding and so were the cocktails! We couldn't wait for our breakfast which was one of the best we have ever experienced. All SO GOOD!! Highly recommended

My favorite hotel in Stockholm! An excellent location next to the Slussen subway station on the northern tip of Södermalm, next to the old town. The building is historic and has been beautifully renovated. The rooms are decorated in a Victorian style with a modern touch. There is a cozy bar & the restaurant features an open kitchen. Highly recommend the breakfast - a spectacular buffet! I can't say enough about the staff. They are all professional, experienced and very service minded. Whether it is for business or holiday travel, Frantz is a great choice

We enjoyed an incredible 5-night stay at this cozy, boutique hotel where the staff— from the front desk to the bartender to the dining room team— treat guests with warm hospitality. The included breakfast is sumptuous and much better than the one at another, more expensive hotel we stayed at for a few days in Stockholm. The dinner experience was also delicious and delivered with thoughtfulness. The front desk staff were incredibly hospitable; honestly, it felt like you were family. There's a cozy bar with an extraordinary bartender. This is a gem of a hotel, with an extraordinary staff that pays close attention to its guests and offers outstanding hospitality. We can't wait to return.

Just a lovely stay here, from beginning to end. We arrived super early and they welcomed us with a cup of coffee and rushed to get our room ready for us long before the scheduled check-in time. The room was super clean and comfortable and pretty darn spacious. The breakfast is amazing - all super fresh ingredients and the cream cake is so light and tasty. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

I booked this hotel for work and then stayed for two days with a friend. I can't say enough good things about the staff at the hotel - they are so kind, welcoming, and helpful. The bar and outdoor area is nice even in the winter and the breakfast was delicious! My friend was gluten free and she asked if they had recommendations for bakeries nearby- one of the workers went out and brought her a gluten free cardamom bun! I would absolutely stay there again, especially since it's right next to Slussen train station.

Fantastic location. Beautiful design, best breakfast I've had in a long time. The staff is friends and the hotel is very clean. Our room was a bit small (no cupboards, but some hangers available, but practical and well equipped. We will definitely go back.

We were THRILLED to find such a lovely hotel near the metro, and all things central in Stockholm. The previous reviews were spot on… clean, tidy, cozy, and quiet, fabulous breakfast… it checked all the boxes! The only issue we had was with the claw foot tub in the bathroom. Using it to shower was quite cumbersome. Everything worked, but it was an unsteady experience for me get into / out of tub.. and the tub was wobbly. For those who are on the short side (say 170 cm) or less… it's tricky stepping out of tub to the floor. We slipped a few times. Next time, I would request a shower without a tub.. just easier to manage. I just didn't think of that when booking. But we would stay there again for sure!

My son and I stayed here over the weekend and LOVED everything about Hotel Frantz. The rooms and bathrooms are lovely. Great products. The beds are so comfortable. The buffet breakfast is THE BEST. And concierge was always very friendly and helpful — they give great dinner recommendations. I highly recommend!

Super breakfast, very friendly staff and Slussen train station just around the corner - we stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay pretty much - we will come again

We absolutely loved Hotel Franz! The rooms are impeccable—excellent bed linens and towels. The morning breakfast was perfect, the bartender was so fun, and the bar and patio were so perfectly comfortable and classy for our first visit to Stockholm. It is ideally located near restaurants, bars, and public transportation, and a short walk to Old Town and the ferry. I highly recommend Hotel Franz!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Take the superior room, they are bigger, or better, not as small. There is no closet, but a stylish cloth hangar. Room was very clean, nicely decorated. The only thing missing was a bottle of water, and a coffee/tea maker. Bathroom is large and stylish. What you really pay for is breakfast which is absolutely excellent. Anything you can think of and more is there and the quality is supreme. Also try the restaurant for diner. Quality was the best we had in Stockholm. Overall, excellent, wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Hotel Frantz is so cute. The rooms are quite small, but very well designed. This is the second time I have stayed here. I took my teenage daughter to Stockholm, and I had to give her the Hotel Frantz experience. The breakfast is superb. It is lovely to sit outside and people-watch while drinking coffee and eating treats. There is no elevator; if you need help, they will help you with your suitcase. Make sure you are using the correct staircase.

The Hotel Frantz was warm and welcoming - perfectly located in a wonderful neighborhood of independently owned stores and restaurants - and right across from the Slussen T-bana station making it easy to get anywhere in the city. The rooms were neatly decorated, beds and pillows very comfortable, thermostat fully operational. Breakfasts were GREAT. We would certainly stay here again.

Like so many “ boutique” hotels, Hotel Frantz lacks the range facilities of established hotels. No elevators, room service or storage makes for an uncomfortable experience, especially for a longer stay. Worse, was the lack of professionalism of the front of house staff. My personal experience was a rude greeting and being given a substandard room. Whilst, after complaining, I was given a better room and some compensation, the initial negative impression stayed with me over my stay. Breakfast was good but again the cramped restaurant space and the dark dungeon overflow space was difficult to enjoy. The design of the hotel, which looked so good in the advertisements, defied the cramped and uncomfortable reality. I thought the location of the hotel to be excellent.

Best breakfast we ever had!! The hotel is perfectly located close to the Metro Station Slussen. Nevertheless, it was calm and pieceful! The room could have been bigger but it was enough for two people.

The hotel is in a nice location. But it is old and needs improvement. Our room was small with minimal space for possessions. The most annoying feature was the amount of light leakage in to the room through the curtains. These were totally inadequate. In addition, although the room was quiet at night, there was loud music in the courtyard outside our room that was disruptive. Having bins emptied noisily at 6am right outside our windows was also irritating. Breakfast was good but the room was very cramped for the number of people using it. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We love the hotel! Location is perfect. Subway and bus right there. Short walk to ferry. We walked to Gamla Stan across a developing outdoor area across the water. Will be lovely when complete. Breakfast was amazing and the rest of our family even paid to join us one morning! Bar is terrific. View could be better but small issue. Room was lovely as was the large bathroom! I wish there was more surfaces and n the bathroom and an outlet for use in the bathroom by the mirror. We loved our stay and will definitely stay here again when we get the chance to return to Stockholm.

If you appreciate fine details and not just pretty pictures, this is your place. This comes from an interior geek who works in customer experience, so I don't say it lightly. Tiny room but it was enough for us, great location near all the interesting places, breakfast made me happy.

After beeing allocated a too small room (313) we moved to a larger one (414) and started to enjoy our stay! Conveniently located in an old inn near the Gamla Stan/Sodermalm bridge, with nicely interior designed room and comfy bathroom! Breakast is divine and difficult to leave in the am…! Last but not least, people are sweet and do their best to make your stay enjoyable!

Lived up to all the hype we read before choosing this gem. Breakfast was the main reason we chose Frantz and it was the best we ever had. Room was quite small compared to some other hotels but big enough for our two night stay. Bed was super comfy, slept like a baby. The staff were really friendly and took well care of us. Location is a huge positive aswell, just a few steps from Slussen subway station, Götgatans cozy walking street and just across the bridge from Old town. Only negative is the lack of an elevator, wasn't a problem for us, though. Will be back next time we're heading to Stockholm.

This is one of the most charming hotels we have every stayed in. The only real issue here is that there is no lift. Therefore if you have heavy suitcases (as we did) and are on the 4th floor (as we were) the stairs can be a little bit of an issue. Also, be advised that the rooms are very small (typical European thing). But the hotel is right out of a movie (in a good way) and the staff is so friendly. The location couldn't be better. Just over the bridge from old town. And the breakfast (which is included) was also really good as well. Fresh juices as well as all sorts of other goodies. Definitely would recommend.

The bunk bed room was really tiny and probably best to relegate to the kids, but we had a good stay. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast and service were superb.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Frantz during our recent trip to Stockholm. The property is perfectly located right at Slussen station, with an entrance to the subway right beside it making it convenient to go anywhere in the city. Many areas are also very walkable. The hotel is well kept, clean and features modern design throughout. Our room was on the third floor - as others have noted, no elevator but this didn't bother us at all. We booked a Frantz Deluxe and while it was still small by North American standards, it was well appointed with a decent sized bathroom. There was also an iron and ironing board which I was grateful for. While breakfast is usually great at hotels across Scandinavia, Frantz really does a great job. Lots to choose from and everything tasted great. I had originally booked this hotel after a ton of research trying to find a property in Stockholm with proper air conditioning. While we didn't really end up needing AC due to cool weather, it definitely worked the one time we used it (though the air vent was behind the curtains so had to leave them open). Another big bonus for me was how quiet the hotel was, particularly at night. No noise whatsoever. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location within close walking distance to the train. The breakfasts were well thought out and everything was delicious. Our favorite parts were what make Hotel Frantz unique, the gorgeous courtyard sitting area, the clever nooks to sit in and have a drink, and the warm, accommodating team that made us feel welcome.

Hotel Frantz was a highlight of our time in Stockholm. Perfect location. Very friendly check-in and service. No elevator, but our guest manager insisted on helping with bags, which was wonderful for two old people. Our room was small by US standards but lovely, and the bed and pillows were top notch. Breakfast has been THE BEST of our trip this far., and I have to say we logged our first breakfast in a (beautiful) wine cellar. Dinner at the hotel restaurant? We actually ate there both nights. We saw the restaurant was highly rated, and we agree—lovely tapas menu. Every staff member with whom we interacted was superb. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were friendly and attentive. Not only did the store our luggage after our early arrival but they delivered it to our third story room. We've loved the eclectic decor of our room. The bed was very comfortable as well. We are breakfast and dinner twice here and loved it all obviously since we repeated it. Breakfast was a feast of so many perfectly crafted items and dinner was just delicious! You will not regret staying here.

Our stay in Stockholm was enhanced by the accommodation of Hotel Frantz. Located just a 5 minute walk from Old Town, it's in a perfect location. The building from the 1600's serves as a very nice place to stay. The rooms are not large, as is typical in Europe, but was comfortable. The highlight is the restaurant! The breakfast spread was amazing! The best we've ever enjoyed at a hotel. For dinner, the place is packed, so make sure to get a reservation. Sit outside or in the back cave for a really unique experience. The staff was excellent too! All were friendly and helpful. Beware there are not lifts if you have heavy bags. The staff will help you though. Great stay!

Can't speak highly enough of this charming hotel. Beautiful building, restored with care. I stayed in 2 different rooms as at the hotel on 2 occasions recently. Both rooms were very well appointed, very comfy beds and excellent bathroom - loved the powerful showers! The included breakfast was very good, great selection of hot and cold foods. I ate in the restaurant twice, again, excellent food. It is expensive, and that would be my one criticism, as the plates are small, but the quality is very, very good. I can not speak highly enough of the staff. From front desk, to restaurant, to housekeeping, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Next time I am back in Stockholm, I won't consider staying anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff for making my stay so perfect.

We absolutely loved our stay at hotel Frantz! The hotel is beautiful and has an excellent location. There is a metro stop just steps away, making it extremely easy to get to and from. We loved the bars and restaurants nearby, and taking a quick walk over to gamla Stan. The included breakfast was delicious and far exceeded expectations. Beds were extremely comfortable. I will definitely be back here on my next trip to Stockholm!

Just spent 3 nights at Frantz, and loved everything about this “boutique” hotel, from arrival where the front desk folks were very personable and hospitable, to my room which though typically European smallish was very comfortable and quiet, to the shower which was excellent and finally to breakfast each morning which was consistently wonderful.

Loved this small "boutique" hotel. Very accommodating front desk staff, wonderful common areas without manufactured aromas (just the clean smell of wood flooring in hallways), lovely room and excellent shower, and wonderful breakfasts.

Overall a fantastic stay in a beautiful, comfortable hotel perfectly located. Visited with my husband and two teenagers, staying in a Family room. The room had an annexe area with large comfortable bunk beds (suitable for adults). The main room and bed was also really comfortable. Down sides in the room - no storage at all for clothes and very limited space in the main bedroom area. But our biggest issue was that there were windows (slightly frosted but still windows) on two sides of the bathroom. With a 17 yr old girl and 14 yr old boy, this was an issue. The breakfast was the best we've had in a hotel. A fantastic range of hot and cold options and we looked forward to it every day. We ate in the restaurant once and were very happy. The menu is a selection of small dishes, all of which were delicious. my 14 yr old is autistic and has a restricted diet and there were no main options eg fries for him, but the staff were happy to provide dishes with sauces on the side etc which helped.

Was greeted by very friendly and helpful receptionist and all the staff was very helpful. Lovely breakfast! Stayed in room with king sized bed, on the 3rd floor: quiet although the hotel was busy. Very comfortable bed! Only two small negatives with the room: very limited space for storage/clothing and would have preferred that the bathroom door didn't have a window into the room. But all in all a very good experience! The hotel is also very practically situated right by Slussen Metro station and also in walking distance to many of the sights in town.

I don't usually write reviews but my experience was so nice that I feel compelled to give this hotel all the credit it deserves! Firstly, I loved the decor and the way that they have kept the details of this building from the 1600s but made it very stylized and modern as well! (Bathrooms were just lovely! And bunk beds never looked so chic! We had a family room fyi!) . But most of all the hospitality and overall warmth of the hotel was so impressive…not to mention the food, bar and the breakfast! (Best hotel breakfast I've has in ages!) The bartender, Cassandra, and the restaurant manager went out of their way to make myself and my 2 kids a small table at the bar when the restaurant was full and I don't think would happen in many other places. It was beyond appreciated. Not to mention that the food was really impressive. (Tartare Korean style was fire!) We stayed at another boutique hotel in Stockholm the following day and it wasn't nearly as impressive. I will definitely be making this hotel my go to when in Stockholm!

super cool hotel from 1647. winding staircases and nice rooms. staff was very friendly and helpful. classy vibe downstairs in the restaurant and bar. the hotel is right above the Slussen tunnelbana station so its an excellent location from where its easy to go anywhere in the city. lively area and a lot of places for food, coffee, and drinks nearby in sodermalm on gotgatan.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is excellent—right in the center, with the metro just outside the door and great connections to the airport express. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. The hotel has a warm, cozy, and family-like atmosphere. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Initially, we had a deluxe room on the first floor, but it was a bit too noisy for us. After the first night, we were able to switch to a courtyard-facing room without any issues. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with very comfortable beds that guarantee a great night's sleep. The bathrooms are also stylish and spotless. My only minor complaint is the lack of storage space—there are only hangers and very little shelving for other clothing. The restaurant was outstanding! Breakfast was the best I've had in a long time—everything was incredibly fresh and healthy, with a fantastic selection. We also had dinner there one evening, which was equally impressive. The menu offered small dishes to share, all fresh and flavorful. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely return when visiting Stockholm again!

We chose this hotel to celebrate my birthday due to the great reviews it had and also its location and it didn't fail to disappoint. The hotel is very easy to get to from the Airport - take the train (which takes around 18mins) to the Central station and then change here for the metro which takes you to Slussen and the station is directly outside the hotel. Upon check in, we were greeted by a friendly lady on reception and she quickly checked us in to room 101. The room was up one flight of stairs (no lift) and down a short corridor at the end. The room itself was quite small but there was enough space for our cases to be stored under the bed and the layout was very good for the space. The bathroom was very nice with a nice walk in shower (although water does leak out a lot from under the shower door). The room had 1 big double window that opened on to a small courtyard and because of this, it never got much daylight but it was still a nice room with a super comfy bed and pillows. The TV was big but is on a TV stand which takes up a bit of floor space - it may make more sense to attach the TV to the wall which would then give more space underneath to store luggage etc. Breakfast was amazing every day with a great selection of food and drinks and the small bar is also nice. Again, all the staff are super friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant one night which was also very nice. There is also a super cool cellar style area off the side of the restaurant which is worth a look. You are in walking distance to many areas such as the old town and if you need the metro, it is very handy. All in all, we had a great stay and I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone else. Maybe ask for a higher floor or not room 101 if you like more daylight.

We had the most wonderful of stays at Hotel Frantz. 5* in all aspects. The decor throughout is gorgeous and so well maintained. Well appointed, cosy and super clean bedroom. All the team are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The bar is a perfect spot to warm up after a day exploring in Stockholm. The breakfast is amazing and the wonderful team there went over and beyond looking after us with food allergies. The restaurant in the evening is definitely worth a visit, every mouthful was amazing. We can't fault our stay, we hope to come back soon.

A super cosy hotel with a wonderful design and quality feeling. The bed was magical, and so was also the breakfast. Right next to Slussen station, but so close to everything. Perfect for a walk through beautiful streets toward nearby stores and restaurants. Will definitely come back. Many thanks !

My sister and I take a Christmas trip every year--and Stockholm was the trip this year. This stay was one of my favorite hotel experiences ever and I travel a lot. First, the hotel is incredibly well-located in the fun neighborhood of Soldermalm with its local restaurants and fun shops, and just steps from the Old Town (Gamla Stan), the Metro--providing access throughout the city and to the Arlanda Express train to the airport. Secondly, the rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. For what the rooms lack in size is more than made up for in style, comfy beds, quiet and quality and a reasonable price. Third, the breakfast buffet is beautiful, bountiful and of high quality. It's scrumptious! Dinner, too, was impressive with a large menu of fantastic small plates. Finally and most importantly all of the employees were warm, attentive and obviously loved what they do. I want to especially recognize Elvira and Christian in the restaurant and Cassandra in the bar. Sofie was great too as a hostess and fill-in bartender. I will definitely be back! Note: no elevator in the building--so if that's important, ask for a low floor.

Great, historic hotel. Loved the intimate bar, fantastic breakfast, clean and stylish rooms, comfortable beds, and very helpful staff. Be prepared to walk up some flights of stairs. Easy walk to Stockholm's sights and attractions. We would stay again for sure.

This hotel was absolutely perfect. The location was central and right next to a major metro stop, so you can go anywhere easily. The building and decoration was beautiful - it achieved being cozy where other hotels would just be "small"...real thought was put into everything and it shows. The service was impeccable. Every interaction I had with the staff was great. From a simple smile and head nod to the whole check in experience, everything was exceptional. The room I stayed in was small, but I knew what I was getting into. It was a great, cozy space perfect for a solo traveler. Admittedly, it would have been cramped if I hadn't been alone, but there are other room type to choose from, so just consider that. Everything was super clean and overall, I couldn't have asked for a better place to return to after a long day exploring Stockholm. Oh, and the included breakfast was an 11/10. Top tier hotel breakfast hands down. I highly recommend this hotel, especially considering the alternative options in Stockholm. It may be a bit pricier than the cheapest (and second cheapest) hotels, but I can guarantee you'll be happy you spent the extra 20-30 euros a night.

The most chic and impressive hotel I have stayed in. The hotel had so much character. The styling of the rooms were beautiful, attention to detail was outstanding and the location was absolutely perfect to get everywhere! The staff were so so so nice! Super helpful and looked after us so well. The breakfast was just amazing! Beautiful food and coffee. Again, attention to detail was outstanding. We did not want to leave. The train station was literally outside the front door and only 2 stops to central station. We walked into Gamla Stan often and also around Sodermalm which is the best for bars and restaurants.

Every aspect of our stay at Hotel Frantz was exceptional. Location adjacent to the Slussen transit station, and walking distance to ferries and sites made touring easy. Staff always striving to please. Wonderful breakfast. Seniors should request low floor, due to no elevator.

A very lovely hotel indeed! We did not stay there for the night as we were staying elsewhere, however, our friends were staying at the Hotel Frantz and we were visiting them once for breakfast. We also took a look at our friends hotel room which was really modern, clean and luxurious. The breakfast was to die for and they even had cake and some kind of champagne. Extremely cosy, clean, modern hotel with many perks and a very good value as it is easy on your wallet. Highly recommended indeed!

Matchbox-sized room in attic corner that was claustrophobic with a 2-metre high ceiling (you lift your hand, you touch the ceiling) for 305 euros per night during a 1-week long holiday stay. No wardrobe or drawers for clothing — just a few hangers on a wall hook by the bed. No bathrobes or basic amenities. 3-star hotel standard at best. We called months in advance to ensure the best possible room given our long vacation stay, and booked the best “Frantz Deluxe” room at 305 euros per night, given the widely reported small sizes of rooms at the hotel, but we were still given a super cramped room which should not be categorised as “Frantz Deluxe” at such a high price. When we asked to see another deluxe category room which was bigger, we were asked to wait several nights, then shown a room over a major construction zone immediately next to the hotel (beware) with a fowl smell emanating from the pipes in the room. Nothing more was offered to address the situation. Hotel Frantz is a quaint historic property with friendly staff in a central location, but the room we booked was not worth more than 200 euros per night. There are many better options in Stockholm at a much more reasonable price. We felt ripped off and disappointed. Fortunately we still enjoyed the beautiful city of Stockholm on our holiday, notwithstanding the bad choice of hotel.

Historic hotel with excellent location close to all transit options including the ferries. Wonderful, lively neighborhood walkable to historic district. Plenty of great restaurants nearby. Clean, charming rooms, courtyard, bar/lounge, and restaurant with outdoor seating. They have a delicious full breakfast with many food options including wonderful cakes and pastries. You must be prepared to walk up many steps if you are on a higher floor as there is no elevator, however, they will take your luggage up for you. We found it worth the daily climb up the historic circular stairwell. The front desk people are very helpful with suggestions and planning your day and will store your luggage if you need that. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Location is perfect…easy to get to subway…easy to walk to Old Town…ferries nearby….several scenic walks in close proximity…I chose a tiny room…which was ideal for one person…front desk was absolutely amazing at check in…she offered to make dinner reservations and recommended several restaurants in walking distance…breakfast was beyond description…also had a beautiful dinner of squid and some charred artichokes that were delicious …wish I had been able to stay longer

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Franz. The hotel's rooms and decor are stunning, with comfortable beds and pillows that made our stay enjoyable. Our only issues were the lack of drawers or storage space for clothes and the tub/shower, which was hard and uncomfortable to use—likely more of a European standard that we weren't used to coming from the USA. The hotel staff was incredible, with everyone being very friendly. We particularly enjoyed the bar area; the woman bartender made amazing drinks. I'm still missing the breakfast, which offered a variety of options for everyone. The location is great, close to everything, and we walked almost everywhere. I will be recommending this hotel to everyone!

The Hotel Frantz is perfection! Housed in a building dating back to the mid 1600s it merges old world charm with the 21st century comforts. There is a magical quality to the architecture and I was enchanted from the moment we walked in. The rooms are tastefully designed in a manner appropriate to the original aesthetics that feel timeless. While small [tiny in fact] once we oriented ourselves we found the space cozy and the tight quarters didn't bother us a bit. I'm only mentioning this because if you are a traveler who requires extensive storage for clothing and luggage this could be a deterrent. Ditto for the walk up the stairs which for us was a non-issue but I could see how the lack of an elevator might pose a problem for some. The area is under a great deal of construction but such is life in a metropolian city and even with the skyscrappers in the forground we still had a pleasant view. The location is ideal with a metro just steps away. Another must mention is the exquiste breakfast. It was a treat to linger in the mornings with bountiful platters of Swedish delicacies and abundant selections. Above all, the staff can be an important part of a travelers experience and the people working at Hotel Franz are lovely. Absolutely lovely. Every single person we interacted with was kind and warm and attentive. They genuinely cared. We very much enjoyed meeting Tessa and Hilda who both gave us excellent advice as only locals can. This Hotel Franz is a treasure and I just wish there were more places with all the special qualities we found here.

Tea at the front desk is very hospitable. She made last minute accommodations for additional family members at a very good deal to assist our situation. Thank you for a very nice stay. The breakfast here was ridiculously great. American hotels should take note how to treat their guests.

I've stayed in a lot of nice hotels around the world in my life and this, by far, was one of my favorites. First off it's in a terrific location right by a metro station and walkable to many parts of the city. Right by the old city, the southern part of the city and a quick ride or a nice walk to downtown. You have great access to restaurants in a slightly less touristy part of the city and near some of the best dining in the city as well. The staff are also incredibly nice and friendly. They were incredibly welcoming and helpful when trying to plan a day of sightseeing. I want to send a special shout out to Helga who accommodated us when we had an issue with our room that we were first assigned. The breakfast was out of this world, and it's included with your stay. I'm not normally a fan of hotel breakfast as I would rather eat at a café or somewhere more local but this breakfast had just about everything you would ever need and it was all delicious. The beds were super comfortable as well. Honestly, it may have been the most comfortable beds that I've slept on, and that was so helpful after long days of walking around the city. I will say that the rooms were very small, which is typical for Scandinavia, but they were still small regardless. You don't get much privacy in the bathrooms either as there's a window between the bedroom and the bathroom. You can't see anything in the bathroom, but make sure you love the person you travel with. Additionally there's no elevator in this hotel so if you're on the fourth floor, you have a very long walk up when you get back. None of that really detracted from our stay, but it's something that some people may want to know before staying there.

Fantastic hotel. Old, quaint, quiet, comfortable and literally next door to the metro. Lovely small bar and delicious breakfasts. The hotel is unique and historic and as such, rooms are small. Space is limited for storing clothes and luggage. Please note there is no elevator and there are lots of uneven steps. Might not be suitable for older travelers or if you have lots of luggage.

We stayed at Hotel Frantz in connection with a concert at Södra Teatern, and opted for a staycation, which was a true treat! The food included in the staycation, Chef's choice, was absolutely delicious, and came expeditiously when informed that we were heading to the concert, and when we did not have time to finish our drinks, we were welcomed back after the concert. The hotel feels like a friendly home away from home, topped by luxurious beds, fluffy sheet, a welcoming atmosphere, personal touches and very stylish room interior, and a breakfast to die for. We (as Stockholm citizens) will come back just for the breakfast, for sure, even when not staying there (which we will again, asap). Thank you Tea, Ellen and team for taking so well care of us! Slussen, closeby, is being reconstructed, but although we had a beautiful room facing that direction, we were not at all troubled by it and did not hear a thing once we entered the hotel, or inside the room. The location is excellent for getting around in Stockholm.

A wonderful boutique hotel. Thoughtfully decorated and designed, fantastic staff, and one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The rooms are a little small but carefully planned. I really couldn't fault them and would absolutely return.

Stunning breakfast! Beautiful (bit quirky) rooms. Old building with a lot of feel to it. Location spot on perfect in central Sthlm on top of big subwaystation. Did I mention the breakfast! Try the porridge... so yummy! Definetly coming back.

We thought Hotel Frantz was generally good. But a few things let it down a bit and hopefully these comments will help with any future developments. Positives: very comfortable bed, and well appointed bathroom, friendly staff, lovely breakfast, with a fair amount of choice. Good location for seeing most of the main Stockholm sites. The wine bar is lovely and calm compared with the other communal bar and restaurant areas. The general style of the hotel is great and it felt very chic. Things to note: the bedrooms are TINY. We had requested as large as they had for a standard king size and it really was very small. We were aware the rooms were small but I was surprised that the design of the room didn't compensate for the lack of space. The full length mirror runs down the side of the bed which you can barely squeeze down so is unusable. One of the only free corners of the room was taken up by an absolutely massive TV. Why not attach to the wall and why is it so big?! Absolutely no storage for personal things other than a few hangers next to the bed which would mean one person giving up their bedside table. There was also a fair bit of noise from upstairs guests and hallway as well as an occasional drains smell. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, no mini fridge or water. Just a couple of glasses to fill from the bathroom sink. The bar is very small and we only managed to get a table on one occasion by turning up at 4.30pm. Finally, none of the food was labelled with allergens. It may just be that Sweden doesn't do this but it did make it a little awkward and only half the breakfast items were actually labelled at all. All in all, it would have been 4 stars but considering the price per night I just would have expected a few things to be better. It would also be good to be asked how our stay was when we.checked out so we could have put a few of these things to the hotel in person. If you're in your 20s and aren't too bothered about the little things I think you'll love the hotel purely for it's style but I think we're just after a few more comforts!

Amazing experience at Hotel Frantz and will definitely stay again if our travels take us to Stockholm! The building itself is full of character and our room (which was upgraded by the staff) was beautiful, well-appointed and perfectly clean. Small touches abound and clear attention to details. But even better than the building and rooms was the staff. Hilda, Tessa, Mollie (sp?), Casandra and Love were just a few that took such great care of us from check in until our departure. Our only regret was that we were only in Stockholm one night!

The absolute best hotel visit we've ever had. Their service exceeded all our expectations and made our wedding weekend like a dream. The food was AMAZING and the breakfast was like a dream. Thanks for doing that little extra for us and our guests!

Without a doubt, it is one of the coolest hotels My wife and I have ever stayed in. Hotel Frantz is hip, historic and fun while still being very serious about great service and making guests feel special. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel like old friends: ready to give out advice on visiting the archipelago one minute and assist with helping to celebrate a special occasion the next. Breakfast is sensational as is the cozy lobby bar (I'm still dreaming about the baked goods at breakfast!). Staying here truly made our trip to Stockholm better and we can't wait to stay at Hotel Frantz again one day!

Hotel staff was AMAZING!!! So helpful and kind. Unfortunately, the individuals in the room next door to me were very loud in the middle of the night - 3 nights in a row. Nothing the hotel could do but ruined my stay. Please hope for quiet/polite neighbors as soundproofing does not exist here.

Yes, the rooms are small. We knew this would be the case, we traveled light and did not spend a great deal of time in the room itself. A very tight living space but very clean and still very comfortable. Wonderful staff. Embarrassed to say I don't recall the names of the ladies that helped us but the levels of hospitality and kindness of the front desk and restaurant attendants were exceptional. They were so helpful throughout our four night stay and assisted me with a special request without hesitation. Very cozy bar area that we enjoyed before/after going out for dinners. Excellent location just steps from a metro station and an easy walk to Gamla Stan where we spent a lot of time. Delicious breakfast included with our room rate. Our overall experience in Stockholm was outstanding and Hotel Frantz was the centerpiece. Overflowing with history and charm, enhanced by a high standard of customer service. Tack så mycket!

We loved this hotel. All staff extremely friendly and helpful. The room we had was spotlessly clean and very well designed. The bar area and wine cellar are both great for drinks. The breakfast is delicious. Lots of choice. I particularly liked the Mango chi. We ate dinner one night and the food (small plates tapas style) were really tasty. Great location- close to Slussen station and five minutes from Gamla Stan and the ferry terminal for the island with the museums. If we come back to Stockholm we would stay here again.

The hotel is beautifully renovated in a building that is a couple of hundred years old. So no lift but that is okay as I do not recommend bringing any luggage. We booked four nights in a standard king room. According to the Web page the room is 11-16 m2 and among other things holds a writing desk. So imagine my surprise when we get a very small room with no place to store the luggage as the storage room under the bed is too small to even hold a cabin trolley. The "writing desk" is a shelf too slim to hold a piece of paper. The bath room is small but functions well even if it isn't very logical how to adjust the temperature of the shower. Since we brought clothes and shoes for several days I went down to the reception to ask where we could store clothes and luggage as the 7 coathangers in the room filled up fast and didn't really work for f.ex. underwear and socks. The receptionist recommended putting clothes on the window bench but had no suggestion on our suitcases. And I couldn't upgrade to a bigger room. The reply from the manager on the hotels own questionnaire to the lack of in room storage was :"The building is old". Breakfast was okay with a big focus on cakes etc. Personally I would rather have had a smaller selection and some decent bread instead of low quality bake off and better quality of sussages. They had a wonderful homemade müsli that they unfortunately only made very little of every day so they ran out two out of four mornings before 9 o'clock. House keeping was great. Don't know how they managed to get the room so clean climbing over luggage to clean and make beds. The female bartender also really great and service minded. It IS a beautiful hotel, the beds are comfortable and the location is great. But it just doesn't work as a place to relax because of lack of storing options. We ended up avoiding our room. The prices are too high to justify lack of caring that guests have to play life size Tetris with their luggage. At least be honest on the Web page. Will never be comming back. This is a gorgeous hotel that is beautifully designed and in a great part of the city (next door to a tube stop). The staff are friendly and the rooms are a pleasure to stay in (also with some nice design touches). Superb breakfast and dining area, and an underrated outside area to relax over a beer and watch the world go past. I'd happily stay here again.

It was very loud at our room. At night we could hear people celebrating im the streets and in the morning we were waken up by constructions at 6am, at 7am garbage a car came in to collect glass. It was quite an impressive sound while all containers with glass being emptied. When it comes to bathroom, the shower head was working only partly. The room was super small, but the breakfast was really lovely. To sum-up, the hotel is a bit overpriced.

Very nice hotel, of historic interest, very well furnished and recently refurbished. The biggest plus was the amazing self service breakfast - the range was staggering and the quality good. The staff were, without exception, excellent and helpful. Bar staff, especially Cassandra, excellent. There are two main drawbacks which would be more relevant to some than others: (i) there is no lift in the hotel. We were originally allocated a room right at the top, on the fourth floor, which was difficult for my wife with somewhat dodgy knees. (ii) the rooms are too small, especially for a couple - almost impossible to walk around the bed. The staff were very helpful and moved us to a slightly larger room on the second floor - here the ceiling heights were also much better. Room size is not something they can do much about!

The hotel is located in the city center in a historic building. The breakfast is excellent. The room is spacious bright and clean, although the air conditioning filter would need maintenance. Unfortunately, there is no elevator, but the staff is available to take your bags to your room on arrival and bring them back down on return.

This is a really nice hotel overall. It's in a great location, a short stroll from the old town. We were slightly concerned with some of the comments about room size and noise, so we requested a quiet room. They were very accommodating with this request - our room was away from the bar area, and looked inwards at the little courtyard. No issues with noise at all. As for the size, they aren't huge rooms by any stretch of the imagination, but also not quite as small as we had expected from reading some of the reviews. There's room under the bed for storing suitcases, which definitely helps. The bathroom we did find extremely small, and because of the set-up of the shower, to accommodate the size, it means that the water pressure is pretty weak (if it were any stronger, the bathroom would flood). The other minor drawback is with the space downstairs by the reception area - or lack of it - especially when there's huge queues of people checking in/out and nowhere for them to go. Breakfast was, as others have said, excellent, with a huge variety of really good quality, fresh food. One of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had (and included in the price, which was refreshing). Would give this hotel a rating of 4.5 overall - we would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Classy, stylish, boutique hotel. Tiny rooms but on par with many other European sized hotel rooms, especially in older buildings. Very good breakfast selection with great variety and tasty choices. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

A really good breakfast is what I look for when choosing a hotel. Hotel Frantz certainly did not disappoint. Freshly squeezed orange juice, a number of tasty breads and rolls (sourdough and otherwise), and a selection of cakes worthy of a patisserie. Being half Swedish I have these nostalgic memories of going to bakeries and getting traditional cakes. This was like that. The hotel is made with quality in everything. The old wooden floor, the stone staircase, the beautiful tiles in the bathroom, the really comfortable bed. The staff was so sweet and welcoming at all times. The hotel is perfectly situated just a few minutes walk from the old town, and with plenty of cool bars just around the corner I cannot recommend this hotel enough, and will definitely come here again.

Incredible start to finish, staff all so friendly and really keen to go the extra mile. Room very well appointed & spacious, with great views over Slussen. Overall 10/10 stay and will definitely be returning in the future.

Very nice hotel, centrally located by Slussen. Beautiful design rooms. Our room had a nice window nook. The staff was very nice & helpful carrying. Our luggage and ordering a taxi to the Viking Line terminal. The breakfast is a marvelous feast with lots of choice. No elevator.

We stayed over new years. Amazing place, very friendly staff and the building and rooms were beautiful. Very centrally located and close to the metro, only 1 minute walk away. The breakfast spread was amazing and so was the New Year's Eve dinner. Would highly recommend

Hotel Frantz is a gem of a hotel! The location is superb - steps from the Slussen metro station and so close to great bars and restaurants. The building is really lovely and the rooms furnished in such a stylish way. Our room - 302 - was one of the bigger ones but still a little snug, however it had comfy beds, an elegant bathroom, a wee desk; and a little lobby for all of our coats and boots. The hotel bar is small and chic and they have a restaurant onsite. Breakfast is epic - all kinds of cakes, pastries, cooked items, cold buffet, smoothies, fizzy booze-free wine and more. Service throughout was kind and professional. Our room faced out onto the street so there was a bit of street-noise but we didn't mind it and you can't hear your neighbours at all. A wonderful hotel - wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Stayed here for a long weekend, we opted for the bunkbed rooms, it was perfect for us as we didn't need too much space. The hotel is in a very central location, walking distance to Gamla Stan, Slussen Station and the Vasa museum. Beds were extremely comfortable and bathrooms were well equipped. The breakfast buffet each morning was incredible, huge selection from delicious fresh fruit, cheese, cakes, biscuits, croissants to a variety of fresh juices and hot drinks. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful stay in Stockholm and what a lovely hotel. I requested a quiet room facing the courtyard and it was perfect. (Room 307) The team couldn't have been more helpful, the location is superb and the breakfast is fabulous! Can't wait to stay again!

Wonderfull hotel. Easy access via Slussen T-bane. 1 stop from Gamla Stan, og 2 stops from central station. Building area close by, but no disturb. The hotel is in an old building from 1647, witch shown in the size and location of the rooms, of course. The rooms don't have a lot of space, but! it doesn't matter! They are so beautiful, and with the best beds ever! We stayed in a superior room, there are rooms even smaller, so I would choose this type every time.. And my 3.third time is just around the corner. The bathrooms luxurious , with very nice products from LA:Verket. The breakfast very nice, the selection changes a bit every day. The staff nice.

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay immensely! The beds are amazingly comfortable, and everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. The stairs have winding old world charm (you might start to feel like you are in an MC Escher work of art) but to the credit of the front desk, she did offer that they had "many strong men to help us carry our hand luggage." We carried our own, and it was fine, but take them up on the offer if your bag may be more than carryon size. The hotel is easy to find, I pointed it out to my son as we took an evening walk across the bridge to old town. The breakfast is A M A Z I N G. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had an amazing stop over in Stockholm, and the room is cozy. (Both a euphamism for small but definitely exactly what I wanted when we'd come home on a dark evening, and want to cozy up. Very clean, very cozy and comforting. It made us want to return to Stockholm, even in November. Of particular note, our kid has had the unfortunate travel experience of sleeping on many a pull out sofa or cot - usually uncomfortable and really a pain to navigate around vfor all of us. The hotel accomodated him in our room on a lovely comfy day-bed velvet green with the same cloud of a duvet and fluffy pillows. Thank you for the hospitality.

After a lot of research, my daughter and I stayed at Hotel Frantz and so happy with our decision! We traveled throughout the Scandinavian countries and Hotel Frantz was one of our favorites! Service Words cannot express how phenomenal and appreciative I am of Stina - she totally made our stay at Hotel Frantz a memorable one. From the moment we checked in, she made us feel very welcome, she carried my heavy carry on suitcase up 3 flights of stairs (historic building so no elevator) to a beautiful room and even more so to a beautiful and incredibly thoughtful congratulations bottle of champagne, glasses and card for my daughter (the trip was her college graduation gift since she wasn't able to travel/study abroad due to Covid - and I got to benefit from it:). We stayed at 8 different places during our trip and Stina at Hotel Frantz will be forever in my heart for her thoughtfulness and generosity. This meant a lot to me and my daughter. In addition, we left a hat (newly bought hat from Norway) at the hotel, and Stina mailed it to us! Location Perfect! We took the train from the airport and easy access to the hotel. Moreover, it is the perfect location for sightseeing - easy access to all areas of Stockholm and only about a 5 minute walk to Gamla Stan - beautiful and historic "Old Town" of Stockholm. Amenities Beautiful, comfy, clean, new - rooms are a bit tight...but the bed and pillows were the most comfortable we slept in on our trip! The bathroom was well designed and large enough to move around as needed - and a very nice shower - and beautifully decorated - loved the blue tile! Perfect for our needs of a good nights sleep and out all day sightseeing. Food INCREDIBLE! Their breakfast was also the best we had on our trip! Mind-blowing selection from delicious fresh fruit assortments, to scrumptious pastries to variety of hot food selections including eggs to mixed veggies, to an awesome selection of fresh juices from green juice to carrot juice to beet juice... All in a beautiful ambiance! In addition, we also ate dinner one night at the hotel and was also delicious!

When I go to Stockholm, this is my first choise of hotel. Not only is the place beautiful and has a good location, more important, the staff is kindly and very helpful and the restaurant is worth 5 stars. I love this place!

Great experience in every way - smooth check-in, beautiful interior, one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in, and a fabulous breakfast. The location is convenient, especially if you want to walk more. I recommend Hotel Frantz to anyone visiting Stockholm.

400 year hotel within walking distance of Gamel Stan (Old City) and 100 yards from subway station. Very helpful front desk. Delightful restaurant with light but tasty servings and excellent service. The decorations were first class— we just wanted to sit and take in the decor. Rooms are small but expected for the hotel vintage. Verges on being cramped. Be forewarned that there is no elevator and that you'll need to hoof the stairs. Also, the average taxi driver will have difficulty navigating the one wag streets and getting you to the front door so ask the hotel to arrange your transport.

Had a really nice stay here. The staff are extremely helpful and warm. This is lovely little hotel in Sodermalm in Stockholm.the rooms are small but are of good quality and have everything you need. The breakfast is really good and you'll have difficulty finding a better one in most hotels. I will definitely be back.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the most wonderful stay at the Frantz!!! The beds were so comfortable and the linens and room so clean. It is a lovely building with so much charm. I might add, an excellent location to this walkable city. We had a rental car so we were delighted with the parking in the locked gated area. What made our stay extra special was the outstanding breakfast buffet. Such a very wide range of delicious items. A wonderful variety of hot items such as eggs , bacon , potatoes and other vegetables. My favorites were the delicious breads cheeses,sliced meats ,fruit and scrumptious bakery treats and cappuccino to start our morning. We highly recommend the charming boutique hotel!!!!

My family of 3 spent 7 nights at the Frantz and we have only wonderful things to say about our stay. The hotel is extremely well situated - it's a very easy walk into Gamla Stan and to the Djurgarden ferry, and it's right next to the Slussen subway station, so you are perfectly located in terms of easy access to tourist destinations. The hotel is in a safe and lovely section of Sodermalm, with dozens of restaurants within walking distance. The staff is absolutely fabulous - all helpful, accommodating, and pleasant. I had several mishaps on my trip including breaking my toe, and the staff swiftly and helpfully got us bags of ice and phone numbers in case I needed further medical attention. And even small requests, like for a fan for our room, were immediately addressed and handled beautifully. Yes, the rooms are a bit on the small size as others have noted, but this is a European hotel in a city, so it is to be expected. The breakfast buffet is terrific, and so was our entire stay. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly.

Everything about this hotel was tiny - from the almost hidden entrance, the reception desk in a narrow hallway, to the cave-like dining rooms and not to mention the room not much bigger than the bed. However, what lacked in space was more than made up for in character, style and service. Every detail has been planned out smartly. I chose this hotel for our family of 4 because the kids could have their own beds, their own tv, and we could have a real King sized bed! The bunks had rails, although I was concerned with the travel-exhausted kids that they might slip or trip on the steps up into their "room" from ours. Such a wonderful space for them though. It was a bit of a challenge to exist together with only about 18" around the furniture, but we were not staying long. There really wasn't a spot for a suitcase, definitely not space for a large check-in luggage, but we had packed very light and had small items. At the end of our multi-destination trip we were wishing to go back to this pleasant, super clean, space with the most comfortable beds and pillows! 2 enormous mounted TV's in one hotel room, it was impressive. At first I was concerned that our room was directly facing a courtyard with chairs and tables, where people were hanging out, literally at our windows. But the sound-proofing was excellent and the room was very quiet and had room-darkening curtains. The bathroom was tiny as well, but every detail was designed, right down to the tiny shelf over the sink with pretty enameled aluminum mugs to match the decor, instead of the standard hotel glasses (smart because in a small space things get bumped and broken). The modern Victorian bathroom was so clean it practically sparkled. My only complaint was the privacy, too many windows into the bathroom were more revealing than my kids were used to and it took a bit to get them to stop snickering "I see you!". The hotel reception was very pleasant, and held our bags for us twice. Even though there wasn't a real space to stow them, they worked around the guests luggage by their desk, with a smile. It seemed, in some way, that all of our requests or questions were answered with "yes". The breakfast buffet (included) was really cute. A traditional spread of cold and warm items. If you like pastries, cakes and sweets for breakfast, this would be heaven. Plenty of choices, and a relaxed atmosphere for the morning. Pros: Great beds, Very clean, Friendly staff, Breakfast, Great location Cons: Space, Curved stairs and no lift - if you have much baggage.

What's good: bed so so comfy, best bed/pillow I've ever had, breakfast amazing, lovely cosy bar and good restaurant on site, location (but this was also a disadvantage as noted below) What's bad: no lift and no assistance with bringing 20kg bag up winding stairs, shower over a small sit-up bath with very high sides, not for those with stiff joints, also body washes etc are on wall outside shower so water goes everywhere. Room, had a large sofa at end of bed, absolutely useless, only taking up much needed space. Noise: outside the hotel were a group of initially women, then joined by men, there all day Saturday, till late and back at 8:25 the next morning, shouting and screaming at each other. This made it difficult to get a good sleep despite the lovely bed. The receptionist says this is due to location of hotel beside Slussen station. Not the hotel's fault but a reason not to stay again Finally price, this was by far the most expensive hotel we stayed in while in Sweden/Stockholm and it was definitely not the best. We stayed in another top hotel in the city later in the holiday for €100 less per night which was far superior (except maybe for the bed)

This is a fantastic hotel. Very nice interior and super friendly and service minded staff. The food is amazing and so are the breakfast. Beds are so comfy and the sheets are very fresh! I recommend this with all my heart!

We just returned from an ocean cruise and spent one night at the Hotel Franz. It was very close to our disembarkation point and well within walking distance to Gamla Stan and the ferry to Djurgarden. The hotel is charming but could pose a problem if you have a lot of luggage due to the steps and lack of elevator. The front desk kept our suitcases as we arrived early in the morning and were happy for us to leave our large suitcase there overnight. The staff were very helpful and friendly and as others mentioned, available 24/7. They arranged our taxi to the airport and even packed us a breakfast and coffee to take to the airport as we left before breakfast was open (although it looked like a very generous buffet when we peeked in!) The bed was comfortable, room was very clean and we loved the bathroom - updated, very clean and stylish!

as others have said the hotel is in a gorgeous building and the furnishings are thoughtful and beautiful. Found the room to be exceptionally small and difficult to maneuver with luggage etc. also the steps are very steep and a little precarious with luggage. Excellent location and we enjoyed the breakfast though not quite as good as we experience at some other hotels in Scandinavia.

We spent 6 nights in July. As other reviews mention, the rooms are small and there's no elevator. Nevertheless, the rooms are immaculate, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom and shower were great. The breakfast buffet is very wide-ranging and excellent, with hot items (bacon, eggs, oatmeal, hot veggies) as well as many kinds of bread, cheese, sliced meat, fruits, cereals, and bakery desserts. Perhaps more important, there is hardly a better location: right next to the Slussen subway stop and a short walk to Gamla Stan and the public ferry. Also, I liked being based on Sodermalm; lots of nice places to walk.

I stayed 3 nights at Hotel Frantz and I enjoyed my stay much. Refurbished from a very old building, hotel Frantz still retained the charm from the old times. There was no elevator but many flights of wide circular staircases. Without concierge or help, going up the stairs with the luggage might be an issue as many travelers has stated. I was lost and could not find my room on the 2nd floor. That caused some frustration with the luggage and stairs. Once passed that initial challenge, I enjoyed my stay very much. The room was very small with the bed occupying all the space. Travelled without a suitcase, my small carry on fit well on the windowsill. The bathroom was very clean and adequate for the small space. As I arrived on Friday, I had the opportunity to dine at the restaurant before the weekend closure. There were only a dozen small plates on the menu. But every dish that I had was amazingly good. I liked the foie gras on a tiny piece of toast and the artichoke dish very much. I also found the breakfast so good with a lot of selections. The food at Frank hotel was outstanding. Hotel Frantz is on a short cobblestone street, a few steps away from the subway station (sadly I did not take the subway). The walk across the bridge to the old town and to most attractions was not too bad. The only small issue I had was with the in-room safe. Touchtone technology did not always work. However I had no issue leaving my valuables with the front desk just like in the old times. There was always someone at the front desk, 24/7. That was very nice. A phone call away from the room resolved a lot of questions. The front desk helped calling taxis for me in more than one occasions. The service @ Frantz hotel was impeccable. Anyone who likes charming boutique hotels with character rather than big hotel chains, Frantz is your best choice.

Cozy, charming and spotless boutique hotel, located in a nice area, 10 minuttes walk from Gamla Stan. The T-station (tube) “Slussen” is next to the hotel and the ride to Central Station is only 3 minuttes. The staff is very service minded with a kind and open approach to the guests. The homemade breakfast is amazing, one of the best we have had, and as the rest of the hotel the breakfast restaurant, with a view to the open kitchen, is cozy and tastefully furnished,. We only had breakfast so cannot comment on other meals, but we would be surprised if the standard is not at the same high level. We stayed in a standard king room, a bit small but adequate for our needs, and we loved the choises of materials. The hotel is truely modern but still respectfully keeps the atmosphere of an ancient hotel/house. Highly recommended.

An amazing boutique hotel in the heart of Stockholm. In 40 years of regular travel, by far the best ‘included breakfast' I have ever experienced! Perfect location with easy walking access to the old town and many great restaurants. Very highly recommended!

We were there for three nights. The hotel is located a short walk from the Old City and harbor with a variety of room sizes and views. We stayed in what they called the backyard.It was great: quiet and away from things. Like most of the rooms it was relatively small, but the room was immaculately decorated. The bath was large, unlike our daughter's, with upgraded fixtures. The rest of the family loved the breakfast. Me not so much. Don't be put off by the entrance and tiny lobby. We didn't arrive until 11:00 in the evening. We were tired and ready for bed. I thought, "Oh no. What did I book us into?" There was no need to worry. We told them that we would be coming at that hour. They had porters ready to carry our luggage to our rooms. There is no elevator but this did not present a problem. The service is OUTSTANDING. I cannot say enough good about the staff and front desk. No matter what we asked for the answer was always, "Yes." I would stay here again. For me it is the only place to stay in that part of the city.

We spent three nights in this beautiful hotel. The rooms are gorgeous. High ceilings, beautiful big comfy beds, elegant bathroom and soft, high quality linens. The breakfast is outstanding and staff helpful and friendly. There is attention to every little detail in the food, decor, cleanliness. The location is also perfect. Next to Slussen metro, 3 minutes from Stockholm central. Walking distance to the old town and next to a ferry stop. Absolutely perfect and I can't wait to go back!

Without doubt one of the favorite hotels we stayed during our time in Stockholm. The service at the Hotel was exceptional. There was absolutely no issue or questions that was not addressed timely and with satisfactory results. We were particularly impressed with how the hotel staff anticipated our needs, the quality of the service and overall positive attitude. Special thanks to (Miss Stina from the Front Office) who went beyond the moon to make us feel welcome, we felt that she was truly genuine, they made sure that we had everything.

I had a really great experience, Stina helped me really good at the front Office! She had some nice recommendations for me. The break fast was a lot of choices and I really want to come back to this hotel.

Hotel building is from them year 1646 .A historical building with much charm.Stayed two nights on third floor.Room was luckly available at our arrival in the morning.Because of the age of building there is not a lift (elevator) but staff was able to take our luggage up 60 steps.Cannot say enough thank you to the entire staff during our stay including hotel clerk,restaurant staff and maid services. A European style breakfast was part of your hotel costs.Very nice selections. Also, must say hotel is very close to Hop on Hop off bus in Stockholm.Thank you Hotel Frantz.Maybe we will see you again in our future travels.

We had to change our reservations and add a night, but when we arrived there were some problems - it may have been due to the language difference. It was eventually corrected but ended up costing significantly more than the original arrangements. The stairs are significant especially if you have much luggage! They don't have a bellman to assist, and no elevator due to historic nature of building. I only had to carry mine up one floor but my friend had to make it up three. The rooms were incredibly small by US comparison. All this being said I would stay here again, I'd just be more careful and require written confirmation, and just take a small light suitcase!

By far, one of the best boutique hotel experiences ever. Within one day all the staff knew us - what we needed, where we were going and what we'd enjoyed at the bar the night before. Signe was especially attentive and friendly. Food in the evening (small plates) was delicious and breakfast featured a mighty spread. Our room was tiny, but who travels to Europe to stay in their room? Great location, too.

I don't think I've ever slept so poorly in a hotel, despite being in a comfortable bed. There is a late night (2-3am) bar directly below the hotel, a cobbled street for very early morning deliveries, and you are right next door to two train station entrances. To top it all off, it is next to so major roadworks on the bridge to Gamla Stan. The noise from the bar was dreadful - I was two floors up and it was like having a bar in the room with me - I'm not a particularly light sleeper either. First night I was woken several times and then by someone screaming with laughter at 2.30am. The second night I was woken through the early hours by bar noise, then at 5.45am with delivery trucks outside the hotel, and at 6am, just as they finished, by bins dragged along the cobblestones. Truly, the worst hotel ever for noise. The rooms are beautifully decorated but tiny and have basic amenities (no tissues, no shower cap etc.... The beds are extremely comfortable (for lying there, awake). Be aware there are no elevators, stairs only. Breakfast was very good and the staff in the breakfast area were attentive. If you must stay here (and I wouldn't recommend it) ensure you get a room at the back and high up. Bring some ear plugs.

This boutique hotel is located near Old Town Stockholm, a wonderful shopping and restaurant hub. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They wrote back right away when I queried them about Covid tests. The testing center is located in Old Town Stockholm and appointments are easy to book. The breakfast is wonderful with a large number of choices for all palates. The restaurant offers innovative and tasty chef's menu each day. The only drawback is accessibility. The limo from the airport had to drop us off at the corner and we had to trek it down to the hotel half a block because there is no room for the limo to turn around on the street. Then we had to conquer a windy concrete staircase and three sets of elevated cobblestone pathways to get to our room, with our three bags (checked-in size). There is no elevator. The room is nicely appointed, the only drawback being the cold tiled floor which necessitated keeping our shoes on in the room. The room is quiet.

Lots of stairs. No elevator. For me it was part of a two-week Scandinavia tour and climbing four flights of stairs with mid-size luggage was painful. Rooms are uncomfortably small, but good mattress and good shower. Breakfast is delicious. Without luggage or with very light travel might be OK (I will still ask for a lower floor), otherwise I won't recommend.

Hotel Frantz is beautiful, and I can't say enough great things about it! The rooms are very cozy and have the most comfortable beds! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel's breakfast is amazing, with so many delicious options. We often skipped lunch because we ate so much at breakfast! The restaurant is also incredible. We ate dinner there on our first night and it was one of the best meals we had in Stockholm! The hotel is also just steps away from public transportation stops so it's a great base for getting around Stockholm! Definitely stay here if you're going to Stockholm!

I had such a relaxing stay. The service staff at the hotel, most of whom are there every day, made me feel at home and taken well care of during my visit. There is a true feeling of coziness there combined with the food, drink and service of a five star property. Please seek out Alexander whose recommendations for food, drink, activities and what to do were priceless. He is an absolute gem. The morning chef is an artist whose creations are so beautiful you don't want to spoil them by eating! She seems to have a true passion for her trade and I was lucky to eat her breakfasts. I also ate at the restaurant for dinner one night. The chef‘s menu and accompanying pairings were amazing. The candles, oil lamps and size of the restaurant created an unbelievable ambience. I will definitely be staying at this historic, centrally located treasure anytime I am in Stockholm. Tack, Hotel Frantz!

My gosh, what a fabulous experience ! I just left this fabulous hotel and honestly wish I could have moved in permanently. The hotel has been completely renovated but still has so much charm and character. In fact, it's just cool, hip & truly comfortable. It's also a wonderful blend of light, space, Swedish charm accompanied by fabulous staff that make it incredible. The location of the hotel also makes it super easy to navigate the city. The breakfast is a feast. A buffet spread with loads of options. The restaurant serves fabulous food! Why go anywhere else? The bedroom space can be limited, but amenities have been put in place to minimize the 'squish' ! What makes up for it honestly is the comfort of the beds. Down comforters, soft pillows and a heavenly space ! Why even bother to get out of bed ! Thanks Hotel Frantz & staff for just simply and honestly making my holiday so special.

A beautiful boutique hotel in a central location in Stockholm. The service, the staff, the breakfast and dinner, the room and the entire entourage: everything was (more) than desired. An absolute 9+ experience! The only thing that could be improved is the coffee. For a good 'Fika' you have to go out ;)

We were here only for breakfast once, it was great so this time we choose to stay our night with the hotel. The location is very convenient, 10 seconds walk to slussen t-bana, lots of restaurants and bars around it. Room was cozy and we will definitely come back next time!

Small but beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast and best location in Stockholm. Close to restaurants, bars and shops both on Söder, Old city and the city center.The small bar had a variety of local craft beer and spirits.

Great hotel with literally the best breakfast in town. The rooms interior design and color palette is tasteful and the bathrooms are gorgeous. The beds are super comfy too. I stayed a few times and will definitely come back again. Great service with a personal touch.

Not sure why all these reviews rave on this place. It's in a bad part of town next to a train station. Everything is super old and not kept up. Stayed here and still waiting for the manager Ellen to reach out to me in regards to the issues. Found used floss in the room ew.

Very negative stay and poor customer service and hospitality. Checked in and out. It's just a hostel not a hotel, except something on the very low end. Dirty. There are better places to stay still waiting for management to get back to me to resolve this. 1/10. Possible bed bugs.

Quirky hotel very well situated near Slussen. Very high standard finish in the room, good service and fantastic breakfast. I enjoyed it and would go back! However, not super practical: my room had bunkbeds and was very narrow so there was little space on floor for a suitcase. I couldn't see the whole television either because of the room being so narrow in combination with a bunkbed on top. Also partially glass door to the toilet. I really liked the hotel for a business trip on my own but would not have wanted to share that room. No elevator.

we were looking for a boutique hotel with history and this certainly fit the bill. Opened in the 17th century it has been beautifully renovated without losing its character. Its in a great location for walking to the sites you want to see. Very friendly staff, great service. The bed was the most comfortable we'd experienced on our trip. Breakfast was very good and the "small dishes' offered for dinner in the dining room were superb. Interesting places to have a drink including the former wine cellar. The pictures on the website don't do justice to how fine this accommodation is.

We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights in August 2021. The location was fine, but we are older and the stairs were difficult. The room was way too small to be comfortable. There was no desk, and you could hardly walk around the room. The bathroom, although small, was very well appointed. The bedding was good and the pillows great. We would not stay again as we would have preferred to be on the other side of the bridge in the Grand Hotel location. There are many more restaurants around the Grand. The front of the hotel could be so much nicer, perhaps with glass separating the outdoor dining area from walkers and certainly flowers and table decorations. A pile of garbage remained in front of the hotel during our entire stay. There is an inner courtyard in the hotel that could be furnished and appointed with flowers. There was also a fire alarm one night at around 2am. It was frightening, and the fire department was not called. It was difficult to return to sleep not knowing the reason for the alarm.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Frantz! The service was impeccable and the hotel / restaurant were charming. Although the front desk area is quite small, considering the age it is understandable. We found the unique features of this hotel charming! We loved the cozy wine cellar lit with candles... very romantic! The breakfast buffet was varied & satisfying. We had to leave early for the airport and the hotel prepared take-away breakfast (sandwiches), which were yummy and much appreciated! The hotel is conveniently located just south of Gamla Stan (old town) and next to a metro station. We found Sodermalm less touristy and had a more local feel. Please consider there is no lift. As stairs were not an issue for us, it is unclear how the hotel handles this issue for those with disabilities. If you are looking for a new modern hotel, this may not be the place for you. However, if you're looking for a quaint boutique hotel with great service for a reasonable price, this is your place!

This greatly managed hotel with super friendly staff people lies perfectly at Slussen, between Södermalm and Gamal Stan. It's a marvelous atmosphere there, every interior item very tasteful and authentic. The small stylish rooms are great and very well equipped. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I ever had in decades of business and private travels. Simply a really outstanding place to go!

Location, location, location. Within easy walking distance to Old Town and art district. Short walk to ferry for a 10 minute ride to museum island. Staff was EXTREMELY ATTENTIVE! Printed out directions, ensured our satisfaction. Breakfast was amazing. Dinner could pass on. Had a family room — two separate rooms, smaller side like most European hotels. CLEAN!

This is my second time staying at Hotel Frantz. Of course we came back for a reason! The staff is always very friendly and this made us feel welcome in the city. We especially want to thank Liselotte for her warm welcome and her attentive care. The hotel is located 10 steps away from the metro station Slussen, which is super convenient! The rooms are very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. It felt just like home. This was special to us, since some other hotel rooms can feel very sterile and impersonal. The bathroom is also very nice, with heavenly products from La Bruket! Breakfast buffet was great, with a selection of cakes to end your breakfast (it is a vacation after all!). You should also include a trip to the bar and restaurant during your stay, as the dinner is amazing and the selection of drinks from the barman was nice! I definitely recommend a stay at Hotel Frantz!

Spent 5 nights at this hotel and could have stayed far longer! The decor, the location, the staff, the food (breakfast will make you extremely happy) - we cannot say enough good things about Hotel Frantz. From first emailing back and forth with the front desk regarding our dates and room selections, the staff was very helpful, informative and just in general lovely. Liselotte at the front desk was especially amazing. Construction going on in Stockholm right now, which will someday be worth it, but is the only unfortunate aspect of this location, but it kind of impacts any location near the water. Other than that, conveniently located to walk/scoot/train just about anywhere easily - great restaurants and shops nearby and restaurant and lounge at the hotel is also delicious. We LOVED Hotel Frantz - you want to stay here!

I went there together with my girlfriend for a romantic weekend in Stockholm, and we had a fantastic stay. Our room was small but super fresh and clean. Amazing location, super friendly and attentive staff and we've never had a hotel breakfast this good. I highly recommend a stay here as we certainly will be back!

This is by far the best hotel i have ever booked in Stockholm. Fantastic breakfast. Very high room standard. Fair price for the amount of service and comfort you get. No need to look elsewhere. Parking at a resonable cost can be found not so far from the hotel. Book Hotel Frantz next time you visit Stockholm.

Me and my girlfriend had an amazing stay at Hotel Frantz. The breakfast was wonderful and my favorite was the scrambled eggs with chili and parmesan, and my girlfriend really enjoyed the chia pudding with fruits. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. For us the location was perfect with great connections to rest of the town. The sleeping quality was great with air conditioning, awesome beds and quiet streets outside.

Liselotte is a super friendly hostess and made us feel very welcome (she speaks even Dutch). The boutique hotel looks stylish and cozy, and the old stairs in the back seem even monumental. Amazing bed, great breakfast, a place I would definitely go back to!

Very nice hotel with lovely people and a great breakfast! The room was also very pretty with a great bed and shower. You can easily walk to nice bars or restaurants. We had a perfect stay at the Frantz hotel and hope to come bank soon to Stockholm!

I don't think I have the words to do this hotel justice. I stayed here for over two weeks, so I feel like I'm in a good position to leave a fair review. To start, the hotel itself is beautiful and very charming. The rooms are modern and lovely and the location is perfect. Right next to Slussen for easy access to public transportation and an easy walk to Gamla Stan and Östermalm. The breakfast is also amazing. I don't usually eat breakfast, but I just couldn't resist every morning. Notwithstanding the above, what really made this hotel stand out was the customer service. When I say every single person at this hotel provided consistently excellent customer service, I really mean it. The people working at the front desk, the restaurant, the bar, and the cleaning staff were all soooooo lovely and kind and helpful! I was totally blown away... it is like they make you feel as though you are the most special person in the world and they would go to the ends of the earth for you. I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and the service here is right up there with them, with a much more down to earth vibe, which is a perfect balance that it is so difficult to achieve. I just cannot recommend this hotel enough and I guranatee that you will not be disappointed.

A nice hotel with friendly staff in the central of Stockholm right next to Slussen. The building as well as the rooms has a lot of character. The dinner food is very nice and the breakfast is to die for with everything from scrambled eggs with cheese to cake with whipped cream and strawberries. Only minus is that the hotel doesn't have any elevator so if you have problems walking stairs you might want another option.

The best breakfast we´ve ever had with a fantastic variety of healthy food. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom beautiful. Fantastic service...and top location! Great value for money. We´ll definitely be back :)

Stockholm is "our" town even if we live a bit outside. We were given a stay at Frantz as a gift from our children on our 30th aniversary. Having stayed on several hotels over the years, I must say this was something out of the ordinary. Friendly atmosphere where we were treated as old firends, comfortable beds and a great breakfast (first time I've seen a "hangover section"). We got a room that was decorated in a very thought through manner where every detail, from the USB outlets, the posibility to cast your own video to the TV and the storge under the bed (conveniently marked with a plaquet) added to a comfortable stay. As for location I don't think it could get much better for tourists. A short walking distance to the old town and the castle as well as the city hall. Being situated at Slussen (the lock) you are already on the south side, in my view the best part of the city from a tourist perspective. Here you have all the scenic views, old houses, green parks and nightlife. Should you want to go anywhere else, the subway is right outside the door. On the negative side, Slussen is undergoing a major reconstruction that can be both messy and noisy but this was not anything we noticed or were bothered by. This is our new favourite hotel and we have already been back, for breakfast only this time. Highly recommended!

A perfect cityhotel in the heart of Stockholm with a Soho House feel in its decor. The rooms are perfectly decorated with plush brands like Hay and Gubi. The beds are to die for and the toiletries LA: Bruket. The staff friendly and it feels like coming home. We highly recommend this hotel for someone who is looking for something chic and personal.

Absolutely lovely jewel of a Hotel in the very center of Stockholm. If you are here to discover the city, this the perfect base of operation. The whole city center and more is easily reachable by foot. The hotel in itself is incredibly charming, well designed and super clean. A great boutique hotel, with a lot of typical Scandinavian design choices. The breakfast is fantastic and the choices are endless. The dinner menu we tried was absolutely fantastic. I definitely consider the food to be worth visiting the restaurant again, even if we wouldn't stay at the hotel. It was that good and the service a blast. An easy recommendation! Try it!

This hotel is one of the best hotels I have stayed on. You will not be dissapointed. The room was flawless and interior detail amazing. We stayed here as this was a wish from my son for his birthday. He was really satisfied over this. The beds are soft with top quality linens. If you will stay here you will see my point. Staff kind and helpfull.

Right in the beginning of söder we wanted a small staycation in Stockholm. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the beds are extremely comfortable and the bathroom was fresh. The breakfast was delicious and the bar, lobby was super cosy with comfy sofas where you can take a glass of wine/beer or have a tea/coffee. The staff were super cheerful, friendly and attentive, and treated you like they knew you for a long time. Right in the heart of södermalm, close to bars, restaurants and shops at a walking distance and 5 secs from Slussen train station if you wanted to travel elsewhere. Cautious and weary of the fact that we are in a pandemic and made the most effort to make their customers feel safe.

Such a beautiful building, friendly staff and a ridiculously epic breakfast! The hotel is really is full of interesting features and design. Really old and unique and restored so well. They claimed to have the best breakfast in Stockholm which was a big claim. They weren't wrong. It was beyond good!

My wife to be and I spent Christmas Eve at this most splendid hotel, that gave us a completely extraordinary experience from start to finish. A pleasant greeting, cosy and comfortable room and a deliciously satisfying breakfast. The staff went above and beyond were they could, the room, although basic- which we chose- had intricate small details that made it feel luxurious along with beautiful interior design and an dreamingly comfortable bed. The Breakfast buffet, was laid out with incredible attention to detail and a wide range of mouth-watering options that you do not usually see on your standard “hotel breakfast”. Different breaky bowls and build your own yogurts to fluffy eggs and properly cooked bacon, and how could I forget the dessert table with strawberry cream cake and gingerbread fudge. The staff even suggested we take a little plate up to our room for the final hours of our stay. A big thank you to the whole team!

Hotel Frantz is possibly one of the best hotels I ever been to. Well designed rooms, beautiful bathrooms, indulging beds with crispy bedding. The breakfast was really one of its kind and you can understand it was rated as the best in Stockholm in 2020. Really something extra. The staff was sweet, caring and very helpful. Me and my two kids got a truly memorable hotel experience over Christmas. I warmly recommend this hotel!

Incredible hotel with of the chart breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Best experience I have had at a Swedish hotel. During breakfast the employees brought juice to our table because they thought we should try it. I would recommend to anyone.

Had a brilliant stay, the hotel is super central in the heart of Sodermalm and a two min walk to Old Town giving you the best of both. The staff were more than helpful and also extremely polite, they gave good local advice as to what was best to do in the evenings (bars/restaurants). The hotel and room was immaculate and very modern/well designed.

Hotel room is nicely decorated and pays attention to every detail - even taking a shower is an experience itself :) Breakfast could not have been better with fresh fruits, muesli and even got some scrambeled eggs with parmesan and chili in it. Location is very good - Gamla Stan is just over the bridge and fancy Södermalm neighborhood with plenty of cafès, bars and restaurants are just around the corner. Definitely worth a visit when in Stockholm.

Hotel Frantz is based in a former trading house from 1647, which is 50m from the Slussen metro station. Pro: - Attention to detail, nice texts (see my pictures) and designed bathroom with smart folding shower door - very nice box spring bed - Great breakfast good selection and again nice design details. - Good service: efficient and fast Con: - Expect no elevator as it is a old house - Rooms are a bit small, but it is right in the middle of the city.

This is a true gem for anyone looking for a weekend break in Stockholm! We have tested it out for two whole weeks - we live in the neighbourhood ourselves but needed a place to stay while doing repairs in our apartment. The location is just perfect, close to subway and Södermalm with restaurants, bars and shopping. Beautifully designed, clean and cosy rooms and a really tasty breakfast, with healthy options next to strawberry cake and sparkling wine. But what stands out the most are the people who run the hotel - caring, friendly, service minded! Every single person we've met during our stay has made us feel right at home! We will recommend this hotel to all friends coming to Stockholm for the future.

Best hotel in Stockholm. The best beds and the best staff there is. It's like coming home but with that extra that only great people and a great hotel can provide. And the breakfast. I mean cake for breakfast. Thumbs up.
