Conveniently located, Super Friendly and helpful Front Desk Staff, and nice breakfast. Was bummed they were out of Waffle Mix. Informed staffed and they requested staff replenish it, but that didn't happen. We had a double King and were informed at check-in that it now had a pull out couch. If it hadn't been so hot, we would've loved to enjoy the rooms balcony. Loved the 24hr available Coffee/Tea in the Lobby. It has nice updates to the property and wish we would have had time to use the pool.
The manager, Ricci, is the reason why we continue to stay at the Springfield Best Western. She is professional, kind, and is diligent about meeting needs. Ricci has been quick to help my adult son with Down syndrome. The updates on the hotel are a bonus. Rooms are clean and comfortable!
Great bed & pillows, room was larger like a suite @$129. Close to the Outback our favorite restaurant. Easy access to the South 101. Better breakfast than most with free hot drinks. Worked out in the gym, many to machines, the swimming pool was cold but a great muscle relax and rush!
We chose this hotel because of the extremely hot weather and the fact that they have an outdoor pool, It was triple diget hot weather and the pool was unusable due to deferred cleaning. The pool was green and and full of debris. I've contacted the General Mananger multiple times about a reasonalble refund and have been ignored! Will not return to this facility, as there are plently of berrter choices in the local area!
Bed had deep body impressions, uncomfortable. Staff unable to switch out room, computer issue. Drop of dried urine on the toilet seat was an unpleasant surprise. Pool is growing algae & unusable. Mess everywhere from construction. Elevator kind of suspect. Luggage carts falling apart & busted tyre. Staff know about the issues & kind of obvious that management's poor attitude has trickled down to staff. Don't recommend.
Hotel is conveniently located off I-5 in Springfield, OR. EMX bus stop is 1 block away with easy access to downtown Eugene and UofO. Numerous chain restaurants within walking distance. Best Western Grand Manor is undergoing remodeling but it is very comfortable and a nice hotel while work is underway.
This hotel is completely misrepresented . It is under a full renovation, which is not mentioned on the website. Rooms are not fully renovated. This entire hotel is under construction/renovation. The first room they put us in did not have baseboards, carpet was not fully laid, no plate covers over electrical outlets and had blue construction tape between the living area and bathroom. After discussing with the gentleman at the front desk, we were moved to a room that was finished and was fairly quiet. Breakfast was awful, we ended up eating elsewhere the other 2 mornings. The workout area was also under construction and you had to go through it to get to the pool. The pool was murky, probably because all the dust and debris from the construction being done beside it was falling into the pool. We didn't use the pool because of this. The owners of this hotel should be ashamed of charging triple the normal rate. Track and field trials were going on, but not the two days we were there and they still charged a ridiculous rate. As others have mentioned, I too will be seeking to get some of my money back.
This hotel is poorly run and managed. Do not stay here. There are many alternatives. The prices are high, the quality of the rooms is poor
The hotel was undergoing renovations, but still operating very well. It will be beautiful when completely finished. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. Definitely recommend staying here.
$329/night! Staff ensured the pool area was great, due to construction materials and mess we could not access the pool at all. Our kiddo stubbed her foot on the wall in the room where trim was missing, where she ended up with a nasty sliver. The condition of this hotel in no way warrants the price of the room per night!
This hotel is undergoing major renovations. Building materials are left lying in the hallways. Our room had unfinished areas. All workmanship was shoddy. Staff's response to complaints was “it's being made better” - clearly not for current guests!! The hotel owners should be ashamed of the condition of the hotel. Floors where renovations are happening should be closed off. We will be seeking our money back!! Horrible experience!
The construction kept me from unloading by the door and I had to make three trips because I come for business and I have lots of bags, Karts had flat tires, could not get the the food room because of the construction and it was put away early and when I ask the help didn't speak English. Woke up by the construction noise.
PRO Newly remodeled room Very Comfortable beds Clean Walking distance to many restaurants CON Very close to airport, expect noise Under construction: no carpet in hallway, dirty elevator, caution tape Surly receptionist It looked like no one was at reception until we got to the counter. Then, young A. K. Ford, sitting in the corner, looked up from his phone and got up to help us. When we expressed concern about the construction, he said nothing. He could have reassured us that although the pubic areas are under construction, the rooms are great. He seems really unhappy working here. Perhaps he'd do better on the night shift.
Breakfast was good. The room was nice and fulfilled all of my needs. I got my sleep and was able to enjoy my activities the next day.
For context, we had a large group (18 rooms/42 people) and we travel regularly/have a system down/rarely experience issues with hotels. The gentleman at the front desk was doing the best he could and was not malicious by any means, but this hotel was just not prepared to handle a group. We booked months in advance, but when we arrived, the hotel had been gutted, so there was no lobby space, wet pain everywhere. Not in itself a massive issue, except that they had not communicated that with us in advance. Then they checked us in one room at time which took about 30 minutes and many guests were in line behind us, usually hotels will check us in all at once, a less than 5-minute process. Because there was no lobby to speak of, the group was in the rain was we got them their key cards one at a time. There were quite a few empty parking spots so we asked to use six of them to park our charter bus, they said it was against their policy, only one spot per reservation and they could not allow that. We parked there anyway because at that point we were frustrated and cold and were paying for 1/3 of the hotel that night. About half the rooms did not have towels. None of the rooms had sheets for the pullout couches, and it took the hotel a while to find enough sheets for all the rooms, although they knew well in advance there would be three people per room. Finally, they lost our reservation for the 18th room we had added on after the initial booking. I had the receipt and confirmation number, but it wasn't showing up in their system. Luckily they had another room available, but they charged us again, so I will be disputing that with my credit card company. Breakfast was reasonable, warm food, oatmeal, eggs, sausage waffles, etc. Felt like a safe area. Hotel was basic but clean. Fitness center and laundry were out of service. Overall, a poorly managed hotel. I think for our group, we overpaid for the service we received. Could have happily stayed there for the level of service we received if we paid $80/night rather than $140. Might be a great place to stay if you want one room and are just there for the night. Would not recommend if you need any sort of special accommodations or are in a group.
We normally always stay at this hotel when we come into town for Doctors appointments. It is usually a great place to stay but this time it was under remodel and things weren't as usual. Very disappointed but hopefully when it is completed I may try it again.
Comfortable quiet clean courteous staff and nicely remodeled. Will return for future stays convenience to restaurants too
Whatever you're paying Aaron, it's not enough. Friendly, helpful, and professional. My car's exhaust system had broken down just before I arrived and he helped me find the local dealership to arrange an appointment for the next morning. He also offered several options depending on the time it would take for repairs. The property is well appointed and fairly priced. Only problem was finding the damn place! No signposting on the highway and not entered in my GPS. Something to consider. With luck, I'll stay again on my way back through.
The property is being upgraded and remodeled. It's conveniently located close to the freeway and restaurants. Clean large room space. Satisfactory standard breakfast options. This was a repeat visit for us.
Check in is at 4. Ok to check in at 3 but anytime before that (2:45) thee is an extra $30 charge. - reason given was shift change. The handicap room was large. However,, there is no closet. Also the shower does not have a soap holder nor a toilet paper holder (there is a table). The shower also had masking tape on the wall but shower worked well. Did har some dogs barking.
I have to start with Best Western has the most comfortable beds I have ever found at a hotel. Best Western offers an incredible breakfast. Biscuits and Gravy eggs, waffles( cute mini waffles. Great for kids) bacon, sausage, potatoes. Cold Cereal and more. It is amazing. Best Western is my favorite hotel.
I stayed here for the first time and was impressed with the size of my room, the breakfast offered and the coffee machine they have. My room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was freshly made with lots of options. I can't wait to come back.
Clean property and room; Room was large and included a small refrigerator and coffee maker. Location was reasonable for automobile access to and from Autzen Stadium, but not ideal. The location is good for its siting at a nicely landscaped cluster of other hotels and restaurants. The king bed was very comfortable.
Everything was great, especially the check-in receptionist. Very friendly and conversational. The only complaint, and it's a mild one- but still annoying, the elevator was very slow. Two would help but 'what are you gonna do?'.
I had accidentally left belongings in the room one of which was a 400 dollar item and despite calling that same day to inform them I had left things they told me that they threw everything away.which is unacceptable
Travelers be aware and book early because the cost rises exponentially if there are events in town. Check your room before moving in, some rooms on the first floor may smell like a zoo while other rooms are super nice. King bed mattress are totally worn out in some rooms. The wi-Fi is disabled an hour before check-out. Expect inoperative pool, sauna and exercise room as they are frequently under construction remodeling. Super caring staff. Many rooms are like new, extremely clean and odor free.
Excellent stay, check in fast, ample parking included. Rooms large very clean comfy couch nice tv, good channels. Lots of charging ports. Coffee in room. Breakfast was great. Excercise room is not functional and they should cover the sign. Close to restaurants and a brewery that serves food. Right off main road. Great base to explore.
The hotel is located among fast food restaurants and therefore the balcony looks at fast food and you smell fast food. The gym and hot tube were under renovation. The coffee dispenser in lobby for the continental breakfast was broken.
You definitely need GPS to get to the location due to construction in the area. Several places to eat nearby, and 15% discount at Denny's next door if tell them you are at Best Western. The toilets are too low to the floor, but after one is able to pull himself up, the rest of the room is okay. When I first saw them my comment to myself was "ARE YOU KIDDING ME"
I had an accessible room, I was disappointed there was no mirror in the room I could see myself in. I use a wheelchair and the only mirror was above the sink. I'm a diamond member and all other BW offer me a bottle of water at check in, they didn't at this BW. Worst of all they put a $30.00 charge on my credit card. I know this is common, later it's removed. But 22 days later it's still on my card. I called them 4 times about it. The first 3 calls I was told the manager would return my call, they never did. Finally the 4th call, I was told the charge was dropped and I'd have to call my credit card. It's now in dispute. The room was clean and the bed was more comfortable than most. But I will not be staying at this BW again.
Friendly front desk that had some issues when using a Best Western issued paper voucher. Training appears to be ‘on the job'. Very clean room and breakfast area. The remodeled bathroom had some sloppy workmanship with the plumbing. The mattress was completely worn out to the point that falling out of bed was a distinct possibility, but just on one side. I will stay again but probably reject the room if there was a problem with the bed. Management seems to be trying for better quality. Recommend.
Is winter time and this morning was not hot water in the shower called customer service at front desk and the answer was an apologize saying that there is nothing else they can do for me. Very disappointing.
Great hotel close to interstate so easy access on and off and yet very quiet. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the tap water took an extremely long time to warm up.
Should have booked elsewhere after reading the reviews, there was no hot water at 830am. Called the desk and they said to run the shower for 20 minutes (huge waste of water) but it still never got warm. The tv was broken so we couldn't watch anything. Had to go back to the desk two times in a twelve hour stay because the keys wouldn't work on the doors. Not sure how this is part of the Best Western brand when the service and amenities are not up to BW standards. Staff were kind, but lack of basic accommodations will make me avoid this hotel in the future. No screens on the windows, making it dangerous for kids, pets, and the local tweakers that roam the parking lots.
Room-cool Beds-very comfortable Size of room- bigger then expected Staff-above and beyond Pool-plenty big, heater for pool was under repair so warm water wasn't available but it was summer so late afternoon swim was good. Also can't beat this location, convenient to all local favorite eatery's, sports and highways.
Of the 3 Best Western we stayed at during our Oregon trip, this was the nicest. The room was large and clean. The breakfast was good: scrambled egg was moist. Gravy was good. Did not have a chance to use the indoor pool and hot tub.
Great location for activities in the Eugene/Springfield area. No housekeeping available; front desk not manned; disrepair in the hallway, Of the many times we've stayed at this location, this was the first time we've had problems.
The staff was nice and the breakfast was good. But at 10 PM I decided to take a shower. Imagine my surprise when, with shampoo in my hair, the hot water shut off !! You'd be surprised how fast you can move when cold water is running down your back. When I asked at the front desk the next morning I was told "It was a timer thing." I don't care about their timer. For the $162+ bucks they are charging for a dated room, I should be able to take a shower whenever I want to. There are many hotels in the area. Pick a different one.
The room is large, and clean. The towels are terrible need to be ungraded, also the shampoo and soap is not worth having in the room. The staff is horrible, they are unable to understand or pass messages onto other staff, the breakfast smelled good but not enough food to feed the people they had. The staff just hid from guests who where trying to get food or anything in the breakfast room. When I asked the front counter lady, she said she thought the number of people should be limiting due to it being 9 am. Not customer service staff at all. They wouldn't let my husband in even after I gave them permission, but they did let a friend in without id (housekeeping staff).
Started out well. Room upgrade. Dried out laundry for us when their dryer wasn't working. We wanted to add a night and were told no problem. Then when we went to check out and check back in, we were told we couldn't stay in the room. So we changed rooms. Smaller room with no fridge. They told us if we wanted a fridge, we could install the one they had in the box. Ridiculous.
Great place to stay, room was spacious and bed was very comfortable . Breakfast was delicious and the hotel is located in a great safe neighborhood. Will be staying here for my future trips to Springfield.
Probably one of the absolute best hotel experiences we have had in quite awhile. Great hotel. Fantastic staff...can't say enough about Front Desk clerk Aaron who checked us in. He was fabulous and knowledgeable not to mention extremely helpful and courteous. Made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was great. Beds were above par "5 stars". The mattress comfort level was fantastic and actually had 4 decent sized pillows. The only thing I would improve on would be better circulation for Breakfast area, it was overly warm and not much air flow.
Rate Increase at Check-In Booked a room through Best Western website using military rate, as per conditions laid out on website. Called and spoke with front desk staff several weeks before check-in to confirm rate and add pet without issue. On day of check-in, front desk staff called at 8 pm (we were arriving late) to inform us that the confirmed booking with military rate was no longer going to be honored but I could stay and pay double the cost for the room that I booked. Front desk staff was polite but last minute rate changes are unacceptable and unprofessional regardless of reason, and are a sign of poor management with no sense of accountability.
I have always stayed at Best Western Motels (in the US & abroad). Grand Manor Inn was easy to locate, and the staff were amazing! I had a couple of special requests and they were filled immediately. Breakfast was yummy - and there were a lot of items to choose from.
The worst B/W we have ever stayed in! No smoke alarms towels were very stiff. very dirty bathroom. elevator not working same as last year. Asked for a wakeup call never heard a thing. and the free breakfast was maybe a step up from jail food.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Their public printer not working, so they let us email our paperwork to the desk and they printed it for us. The breakfast is Unbelievable Eggs, bacon, sausage, make your own waffles, Always hot and taste great, The room was bigger then and thought it would be and the beds were excellent. So soft and comfy it felt like sleeping on a cloud. We will definitely be back.
1). Assigned a room on the third floor. They had a non working elevator, (for several weeks). Had to carry my bags up two floors with no help. 2),Front desk clerk stated they WOULDN'T ACCEPT cash at checkout to pay for room. (did present a charge card at check in)
It would have been nice to know that the elevator was not going to be in service for me and my other two disabled family members and our two dogs. We did not get our first floor as requested nor did they have a working elevator. The room smelled like animal and the toilet kept backing up. This is no joke this is a reality I'm asking for a refund but no response yet
This best western location has gone from a very nice hotel to an over priced MOTEL. Poor staff, non working amenities, horrible breakfast items. If you are looking for the Best Western value this is not the one.
Large room with multiple seats and places to put suitcase and have dog bed without tripping over them. Beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel if far enough off busy streets to be quiet too, We will make it a point to stay here when in area.
Great hotel clean easy parking easy check in and out great breakfast supper nice people would stay again great location nice restaurants around pulled up and had parking right in front the bed was great
Elevator broke. No full breakfast or any breakfast cold coffee at 9am They put us in pet friendly since elevator is broken. Toilet was broken maintenance man fine for the day. They Moved us to another pet friendly. Strong odor had to go buy room deodorizer. Room furniture tore up. Close to the freeway, restaurants and shopping. Beds are comfortable.
The elevator was out of order, the cable TV did not work and the ice machine was broken. Other than the TV maintenance guy, staff was pretty indifferent. I have several more stays booked at this motel in the coming months. May look to rebook elsewhere. In the past, this have been a fairly reliable motel.
My wife and I needed a place to stay on our way to Oregon so we called this Best Western when we were an hour away. The front desk person (Ken) was a pleasure to work with where he was both professional and pleasant. Additionally, though the hotel was understaffed when staying last week, Ken took care of all our requests. Lastly, the room was perfect and easy to access.
This property is located just off the I-5 and is situated to allow quick and easy access to the Eugene area. The staff are professional, proficient and personable. The rooms are "Roomy" the amenities just great for a short or long stay.
Exceeded my expectations. Close proximity to several restaurants and I5. The staff is very friendly and professional. Hotel room and entire facility one of the cleanest I've seen. The price was right especially at high season. Well worth the price.
We will not be staying here again. The employee that checked us in, said that it was his first day... that they can't keep employees and are telling anyone that shows up that the hotel is full and not accepting reservations because there is only enough staff for 12 rooms. There were no bath towels just hand towels and wash clothes. We had to go to the front desk to ask for an ice bucket. The room smelled of dog. As a Diamond Elite - to say we were disappointed would be a harsh understatement.
The whole experience was positive. The lobby was beautiful, the room was spacious and nicely decorated, the staff were helpful and personable. The Tesla charger was a few steps away, and a good restaurant was right across the street, with many other restaurants within walking distance.
Found out when our credit card bill arrived that they had charged us $300 for smoking in our room in May 2021. We are not smokers, we are an anti-smoking family. We are long-time BW rewards members with no history of smoking charges. The condition of this hotel was sub-par compared to our many other BW experiences but we decided to let it go since it was only one night - that was a mistake. Very poor customer service - manager Steve Robinson never called us back to discuss the issue after we called the hotel twice. People make mistakes, maybe the maid wrote down the wrong room number. Or maybe there was a smoking issue in the room the prior night and the smell was still lingering. Who knows, we were never able to talk with management about this issue. Then called the main Best Western number with the complaint and started a file. After a couple of weeks I called them back and heard that this Springfield hotel was standing by the charge and there was nothing else that they could do to help us. Period. What?? My overall opinion of Best Western just took a major dive. I'm not sure what's going on here. Adding extra charges to make up for a poor year during the pandemic? Obviously won't be staying here again and will have to get creative about what step to take next.
We stay at a lot of Hotels, this is one of our favorites. Large rooms, great bed, helpful staff. I would choose this over the ones near the university every time (I stayed in one by the university last week and the bed was terrible, broken down, and mushy) the bed here at the BW in Springfield was terrific.
The hotel we conveniently located to a ton of restaurants. The property was clean and the staff were very friendly. Rooms were large and had plenty of room for relaxing. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean.
If I had not stayed at this hotel in the past, I would have left thinking it was a dump. Inside was nice but no excuse the the ugly exterior. Other hotels all around it were well kept. Even a local gardener could have pulled weeds 3 to 4 feet tall and weed wacked. Disapointed in Best Western.
The hotel was average in repair, I had requested a quiet area but ultimately a noisy party was put into the room across the hall. My requests for additional pillows were ignored by the front desk but luckily a very nice housekeeper who had just cleaned the room fulfilled that request. My husband had to have an important medical appointment, hence the quiet area but we ended up with noisy people and noisy big rigs outside. While I understand the breakfast thing related to COVID, Oregon had opened the next day but they were unprepared to serve a breakfast even though the announcement had been made a week or more previous. Very disappointed.
Jacquelyn was very helpful in correcting a reservation problem that happened overnight. She made everything work out just perfect. We really appreciate her extra steps to correct the issue. The location was perfect for Springfield/Eugene and surrounding areas. Good restaurants near by also.
When we arrived two people were passed out in front of the property. The front desk attendant was outside smoking a cigarette. Upon arrival to the front desk there was an odd smell of ammonia, not a clean smell, but kind of a dank odor. There was not slot of airflow throughout the building so it left a very stale feel. The room had the same odor. The room across from the one I rented had damage to the door which was a little concerning. None of the outlets had covers on them and exposed electrical with a child crawling around was also a hazard. One of the unprotected outlets was covered by a fabric chair (fire hazard). There was no room service, or only upon request we would find out on our last day. Trash had piled up and linens were not cleaned. I had to personally take the trash out as the housekeeping was gone for the day. A laundry door had been kicked previously in and I was able to find additional linens. I'd ask for a refund but I doubt they even read these.
Young man who checked us in was rude. There was a lot of noise throughout the night from people fighting in the room across from us. And every time the person upstairs flush the toilet we could hear it clearly. And the price was very expensive compared to other best westerns where we have stayed.
Management is not present to resolve billing issues. I have been billed multiple times with different prices and cannot get ahold of management. Room had a bad odor and the phone would not dial out. Never staying again.
Great stay I had no issues I wanted to use the pool but I also understand why it was closed hopefully it will be open the next time we stay there. i did ask for the room too be made up and when we returned it was not cleaned or the bed made with clean sheets I was told it was because of COVID they did bring me fresh towels and a clean sheet so i made my own bed.
“ADA accessible” room had no front entry, so you have to walk far to carry your things in and out. bathroom had nowhere to set toiletries except the floor.. My mobility issues make it hard to bend over.. there was nothing keeping the water from the shower from going all over the bathroom floor, making it a fall hazard.. The water pressure was so high it felt like sand paper and hurt for several days. There was no sink in bathroom, so I have to touch door handle with dirty hands to go out around corner to use the sink.. They said they were out of hand soap when I asked why there wasn't any.. they only had one set of “complimentary toiletries” for 2 people. Only 2 towels, one I had to use to sop up water from shower so I didn't slip and fall.. had to go ask for more. No mirror in bathroom. There is no center light in room. For breakfast was only given one sack breakfast for two people even tho I said there were 2 of us.. Overall poor experience.
I was a bit concerned about booking this hotel again. We've stayed a few times prior but it's been a while and some of the reviews have been... less than stellar. We went ahead based on past experience and the room was really nice, appears to have been recently renovated. Clean, comfortable and big. The staff was friendly. We'll keep returning.
Just checked in, and found out my room is not going to have water tomorrow. When I spoke to the front desk clerk I was told "tough s**t". Seriously thinking about bailing and going to another hotel. Never staying here again.
Do Not Stay Here! Run down premises, deferred maintenance, squirrel cage internet speed, dark , gloomy rooms, elevator inoperable, no towels in room, three ground floor rooms with signage “Closed- Quarantined” .... dog and pony show staff, sub level competency and customer service, undisclosed room security charge,. This place makes you feel, if you don't do the thinking for them, things just won't happen. We Booked paying several days before thru Expedia. Arrived on a Tuesday just after the 4pm checkin time, was sent to a room which hadn't been cleaned. Went back to desk to advise and get another room. Got another room one which was dirty also. Back down to the front desk to sort it out. Q; which rooms are clean?, A; #108 is for sure. Q; can someone check? A; Ok, we'll check. #108 was dirty too. Q; Are any rooms clean?, A; Yes, one room, but not available, it's reserved. Ok, I have a reservation, I'll take that one. so can you get the manager to approve? A; the manager's not here. Q; Does the manager have a phone to call them?, A; Yes, I guess so. Q; Ok, then can you call them to authorize that room? A; I'll try. Q; Ok, let's try. A; Manager said to give you the room. Got back home on Thursday, and Saturday morning we see the room charge plus another $150 charge. Called and asked for the manager, who of course was not (or never) there. Asked why the $150 charge, and was told it was a security deposit, which BTW was never communicated at check-in. Q; We left Thursday am, so why is it still showing. A; It should drop off in 3-5 business days. Told them to send me a screenshot from their system showing the refunded deposit. Trying, Frustrating, Exhausting, Con Job experience from beginning to end.
Room was clean, spacious and good value. No maid or turn down service after you checked in. It would have been nice to know upon check in that you would need more coffee, cups, towels etc and that you will have a dirty room. Our garbage just piled up as Springfield still does not allow dining in, only to go so we had many meals in our room and lots of garbage from containers. They charged the room on a cc that I reserved the room on instead of the cc I gave them when I checked out. Ughh Couldn't even get a newspaper.
After a long day of driving down I-5, we were looking forward to relaxing in our room and getting a good night's sleep. We've stayed here before, and it was always comfortable. This time, we were informed upon check-in that the cable TV service was not working. I asked if they would discount us because of that, and they knocked $20 off our bill. Thank you. We were stuck with just the wifi, which was not great, probably because every person in the hotel was trying to use it. So it was slow. Our room was comfortable, and we appreciate that pets are allowed here. I wish they had a nice area for pets to relieve themselves. The real problem was after we checked out, we noticed that someone had hit our car and dented the back end significantly. We were parked right outside the front door of the hotel, so you would think the desk staff would have heard something. But no one notified us. Crunch. We won't stay here again. The staff should be more attentive and the guests should be more responsible.
I used to stay at the Grand Manor regularly for business but had not been to this hotel for over 25 years and was concerned about how well the hotel has weathered. I am pleased to report that it is still in pretty good shape. I am not sure when it was renovated last but it still is clean and well maintained. I appreciated that the front desk staff wore masks and doled out a decent array of breakfast items. Easy walk to Subway and McDonald's. Excellent stay!
Room was very clean and you could tell they were taking all needed precautions. They even had a "bagged" breakfast upon request. Great idea! Staff were courteous and friendly. Room was spacious and the beds we're comfortable. Nice TV with plenty of channels to choose from. Several place within walking distance. Stores, restaurants etc.
The rating would have been much higher if there was television service. I chose this location because the room has a sitting area with a wall-mounted TV that swivels. Perfect for my late night husband who likes to watch TV after I go to bed. Unfortunately, there was not any advance notice that they did not have television service. It was too late to cancel the reservation so we were stuck. Got to the room and decided to check the outage for DIRECTV, which is the service they supposedly have. Going to the DIRECTV website and checking for outages by putting the ZIP Code there were not any outages showing in this area. Hmmmmm. I read a review in July that there was not any TV service and I thought that was just a fluke, one time issue. Apparently not?! Hopefully they have not been out of TV service since July! Management should have sent an email stating that there is not any television service. It can be done. I have received an updated information email from another Best Western that we are staying in two nights from now that has referenced information that has changed since I made my reservation. There is a Comfort Suites directly behind this Best Western and they have television service. Their service is with Comcast. I called and asked..haha. I would suggest staying there or call here ahead of time to confirm they have tv service. On a normal day the Wi-Fi might be fast, but since there are so many people probably streaming because there is not any TV service the Wi-Fi is slow as molasses. The website states laundry is one dollar to wash and one dollar to dry. To my dismay that is not the case. It is two dollars to wash and two dollars to dry. Someone needs to update the website! There was a towel left on the back of the bathroom door that was used by a previous guest. Housekeeping needs to be a little bit more attentive to all of the areas in the room and bathroom. The mini refrigerator does not have a freezer section. The outside balcony is absolutely fantastic. There is a sliding glass door with a screen and with the beautiful and comfortable weather they had today it was nice to have the door open. I might stay here again in the future. Unsure!
Even with the obvious state restrictions in place, this hotel is still trying to go above and beyond for its guests. The grab and go breakfast bags have everything you need and all of the safety precautions are in place. I stay here regularly.
No tv and pool closed. Only notified at check-in and no discount on the room rate. Breakfast was pre-packaged muffin, granola bar, and an orange. Found clothing from previous guests in our room. Definitely finding a different hotel to stay at next time. Room was spacious.
This is a moderate value Best Western. It is not in the Plus category of the chain but with a couple small improvements I think they could get there. The Hotel exterior is nice and has a fence around its parking lot to keep people from just passing through and taking your stuff on the way. The area is not the cleanest looking but it isn't horrible. There are a ton of good food options close and several within walking distance, including a brew pub restaurant. The lobby is nice and the rooms are simple but clean and nice. We've stayed here on several occasions and have always had good experiences. The staff is always helpful and they have even given me the occasional free room upgrades, likely due to my status in their rewards program so don't expect it to happen but you never know when they might do it.
Fine place to stay while on the road. Parking for large rig is a little problematic but is doable. Rooms are clean and comfortable, however in need of a facelift. I must reiterate the rooms, bathrooms, and hallways are clean. Beds are comfortable and they have nice linens . Staff were very congenial and helpful. Easy access to dinning places. Value for service is very good. I would stay here again while travelnig through the area
Wonders never cease and the world of travel continues to be filled with wonderment and amazing experiences. Little did we know when we were booking our travel to the Grand Manor Inn, that we would encounter two new characters from the Marvel series. The Dynamic Duo, Elhandro the Eclectic and Mason the Magnificent. We were slightly ill at ease when we entered the lobby, and eerie quiet seemed to floe smoothly, softly, serenely, cloaking the foyer in a shimmering silence. Then in an explosion of light , a flash of enthusiasm the Dynamic Duo appeared. They apologized for their absence and advised that they had been on the third floor reminiscing of the good old remodeling days. The smell of fresh paint, carpet remnant scattered here and there, the transient work force milling about. Yep those were the good old days. To our delight the Duo flew into action got us checked in and handled our stay with an efficiency here to never seen in any Best Western Property. Thanks Dynamic Duo. Hope to see you on the next trip.
Very wonderful experience, staff was extremely helpful and very accommodating. Could not ask for better service. Excellent marks to the Night Manager. Room was fantastic, clean and well arranged. Breakfast is one of the best I have had in all of the Best Westerns I have stayed at, lots and lots of choices and very well done.
Room was very clean, everything worked as it should, quiet place and a very good breakfast offered. There are carts so you can easily get your luggage in one trip. Lots of parking and the area hotel is in is nice and safe.
Location and bed were great. Breakfast had a great selection and good quality. Problems with water temp, elevator, and layout of room. Hard for one person to sleep in while I was getting ready for appointment. Maid walked in 2 1/2 hours before checkout. For the price, I expected more.
This is a great option for any travel needs in Eugene. Less expensive than expected. Great amenities and well cared for. Friendly staff and very good breakfast. Close to lots of restaurants and shopping.
This is my 2nd stay at this hotel. The staff at this best Western Grand manor inn. All go above and beyond to assist guests in whatever way they can! Highly recommended and I will definitely be telling people to stay here,
Great staff and very clean. Tasty breakfast and good location. Staff is very helpful.Coffee is always available in the lobby. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are spacious with a separate area for frig and microwave
They will charge your card without your knowledge and approval. The manager will NOT call you back!! Even after multiple attempts to get your refund and ask about how you believe that stealing was an ok practice. Then you receive this generic email saying your refund has been submitted yes three weeks later there is nothing and still no call back from the manager. STAY AWAY unless you want to be double charged
If you have to visit Eugene, or its surrounds, this hotel at Springfield is the place to go. If you are a beer lover, right next door is Hop Valley Brewery, with great beers and excellent food. The hotel rooms with a king bed were spacious and very well appointed. All in all great value for the money
A few glitches but overall, very clean. They need to replace room locks with ones that work more consistently. There seem to be a lot of things that break down frequently. overall very nice stay and i was comfortable and it was quiet.
Great place to stay. Easy access to I-5, but you can't hear any traffic noise. Also, a convenient location if you have friends or family at Riverbend Hospital. Large two bed room, plenty of hot water and a walk-in shower. As a Diamond Select Member, we used our reward points to cover the cost of the room, but were treated like we were paying the full amount. We asked BW reservations for and received an early check in time, ground floor room and a room close to the office. If your ever in Lane County, this is the place to stay.
My husband & his sister stayed here on their way to California. Based on their experience we decided to stay here on our return road trip home. The hotel has easy access to / from I5 and it is remarkably quiet. Lots of parking. Nicely landscaped grounds & welcoming lobby. There is an outdoor pool but it was too cool during our May visit to use it. There is an exercise room. Typical BW breakfast is available in dining area off the lobby. Our room was a nice size, clean, spacious with the typical amenities. The elevator was a bit slow & noisy. Check-in was efficient once staff appeared. There is gas station nearby, Starbucks down the street, a supermarket tucked behind a strip mall, fast food, a 24 hr Denny's near the hotel driveway & other restaurants nearby (including the Hop Valley Brewing Company (see my review) which is a short walk from the hotel). Our needs were met.
Accommodations were clean, room was nice and big, staff friendly and conveniently located by I-5 and the hospital. I was able to care for dad at hospital daily and have a nice hot breakfast to start the day.
Conveniently located a quarter mile from i-5 and right in the middle of ALL needed road warrior amenities including Starbucks, gas stations, restaurants, fast food and an all night Denny's and McDonald's. Tucked back from the main drive so that any room is quiet. The rooms are clean, quiet, and nicely appointed with spacious outdoor balconies that provide seating (and side table) for two. I am highly recommending this BW.
Huge and clean rooms with good handicap convenience. Very nice can't get a better location than this. We were impressed by the cleanliness and spacious bathroom and shower built for a hospital type visit
A well run facility that handled well the demands of a college football night in Eugene. Not my first location choice, as I was headed to the stadium, but easily accessed, simple, and guest friendly. Very competent staff. I suspect this facility is a better value than I indicate below, but it was an expensive night everywhere in town, given the U of O game.
We were in town for my hubby's 55th class reunion in Eugene. We called ahead and got early check in, which we appreciated very much. Our room was spacious, very clean, and had an outdoor balcony. The full breakfast was very tasty. Very nice place and quite affordable. Excellent location. We will stay there again.
Just a good motel with all the amenities (including good hot breakfast), and good location ..... nearby eating establishments within walking and such ..... Roomy rooms and great for families with a pool etc. Nothing to complain about.
The staff goes that extra mile! Offered us a Netflix cord so that we could use in our room. Food is amazing! Had a variety of breakfast items that was always fresh and restocked. Fresh apple and orange juice. Nice variety of cereals for our kids. Beds are pillow top comfortable, just like home. Rooms are fresh and clean! Close to the mall and many restaurants. Looking forward to our next stay!
We had a comfortable night's sleep but were surprised that there was no clock radio. Never had that happen before. In the morning we discovered that the coffee maker had a missing part so wouldn't work. Also, there were two big white plaster places on the walls where somethings were removed. I guess removed. The breakfast was well done with a friendly and helpful attendant. The folks at the front desk weren't particularly interested or helpful so it was good we didn't need them for much. So all in all we had a good night but our stay wasn't what we usually find at a Best Western.
Good location, handy to I-5 with multiple restaurants within walking distance. Rooms had plenty of space and the beds were comfortable. They provide the regular Best Western breakfast which is included in your stay and items were replenished when necessary. This is a dog-friendly property.
BEWARE!! ONE STAR IS TO HIGH!! I made a reservation at this hotel 10 months in advance of the University of Oregon's Graduation Ceremony. I booked the room on-line at $118 per night, upon arrival the desk clerk told me that the owner would not honor that price as the graduation was going on and the rooms were now $244 per night. I contact BW corporate offices, they in turned contacted the owner and he refused to honor the price the best he said he could do was $200 per night. So, let's say that your reservation price means nothing to a greedy owner who refuse to honor the price even after the corporate office contact him. If you made a reservation I hope this owner will honor your price that you were given when you made your reservation. Bad part is no other rooms were available in town so I was stuck. I am now in the process of dealing with BW corporate to try to get a refund. Shame on BW having independent owners tell their corporate office what they will and will not do.
The size of this room was incredible. The area of the bed and bath was the size of a typical king bet room. but then we had a living room area with a couch, over-stuffed chair, coffee table, two desks, and a desk chair - and plenty of room in the middle. It was easily the floor space of two king rooms. The bathroom and vanity were pretty standard sized. Had a very good breakfast with scrambled eggs bacon and a biscuit & gravy. The biscuits were oversized so I ate to much of that and had to slide the driver seat back a click to fit behind the wheel.
What a pleasant surprise.... Needed a room for the night & had enough points on my Best Western to have a free night. I picked a double queen bed room & Steve was kind enough to upgrade us to a double king room with a balcony. The room was spacious, clean, quiet & comfortable. I can't say enough as to how helpful Steve was.... all I can say is "THANK YOU." I would not hesitate a New York minute to stay here again if I am in the area.
I have stayed at the BW Grand Manor Inn on more than one occasion driving from WA to the SF Bay Area. The staff is always courteous, rooms very clean and the breakfast above par. Lots of bathroom amenities provided (Thank you!). I highly recommend this hotel to other travelers.
VERY clean and modern hotel. It is super quiet (far enough off highway), gobs of parking, good breakfast, nice pool, superb service, pet friendly (on the first floor) and reasonably priced. Seriously, what more do you want?
Great location and rooms. We had a handicap room was very pleased with the size of room and the bathroom. It had a walk in shower that was great for the fear of falling in a bathtub. The breakfast great with a variety of thing to chose from.
Great location off I-5, lots of great restaurants to choose from, great shopping for anything you might need at Gateway Mall including Cabelas. Very good experience and comfortable clean rooms and pleasing atmosphere. Exception bed very impressive and quality suite type room.
in panic i called hotel. front desk said maid found my coat and brought it to front desk. I drove by on way home and front desk gave me back my coat. Special person bought that coat for me years ago and i wear it often. THANK YOU FOR HAVING HONEST MAIDS AND FRONT DESK PERSONS. would have been extremely easy for some body to keep that coat. I really was not sure where I lost it.
I choose to stay at this hotel because it's best western but was dissappointed with poor WiFi, poorly cleaned room, smelled like some sort of animal. I will be contacting best western on my horrible stay.
Clean, fully featured, and extremely spacious rooms at the Grand Manor, moreso than the many comparable hotels in the same area. Central location makes access to both Eugene & Springfield very simple. Highly recommended!
We made a special effort to reach this hotel on our travels. The rooms are very large and well equipped. The breakfast was lovely with a great variety available. For those who enjoy craft beers, the hotel is right next door to the Hop Valley Brewing Company which also serves excellent food at a reasonable price. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful as well, and the hotel was very clean everywhere. In fine weather, most rooms also have a balcony outside, which is a very nice touch.
I've stayed at the Best Western Grand Manor Inn a few times, and I'm always pleasantly surprised by the little touches that make this my “accommodation of choice” in Eugene/Springfield. The staff are welcoming and always go out of their way to ensure a great visit. Plus, the beds are super comfy!
The hotel was very clean and the room was way larger than expected. We needed a room at the last minute and was able to make a reservation at a reasonable price. Of course breakfast was included and it's quite a spread, way more than just "continental." We checked in late at night and was still greeted with a smiling face and good customer service.
As part of an Oregon road trip, this was my stop after coming over the mountains from Bend. I opted to explore the local area and stayed here for 2 nights. Previously, I had stayed in Eugene proper (near the U of O) but opted to stay here due to price. Coming from a large metropolis, points in Springfield and Eugene are not more than 15 minutes away from each other. General property notes: Located on near the Beltline and I-5, it competes heartily within a block of 3 other hotels. Talk about fierce competition. The exterior looks like an old Southern antebellum manor and I guess this is why the name uses "Manor" in it. While the gal is a bit older, the interior and rooms have been thankfully updated to more modern times. Front desk: Arriving mid-afternoon after coming from Bend, Lee was pleasant in welcoming me. He was swift in checking me in even though it was his third day on the job, gave me a quick rundown on amenities, and issued me keys to a second room floor (there are 3 floors). The first night was fine and quiet but the second night brought a guest to the room above me: boy, that person sounded like they were wearing concrete boots. If I was staying a third night, I'd ask for them to be moved. Room: The second-floor room was oversized and had a king bed with a pillow-top mattress, quality bed linens, and pillows. The room carpet was recent, very clean, and tasteful. The blackout shades and sheer curtains both performed beautifully. The room was split between the sleeping and living areas: the living area had a couch, work desk, fridge, storage cabinet with microwave. The AC/heater, fridge, and microwave were all in working order. There is one TV that is wall mounted between the bed and living space so both could watch at the same time - it cannot be swiveled to face either area exclusively. Bath: Sink and counter outside the main toilet/tub room. There were ample quality towels (bath, hand, and washcloth) for two people. Shower pressure in the shower was excellent. Counter space on top and below the sink area was ample. Modern touches such as ceramic tile in the bath and separate sink area and new counters/fixtures added a measure of class and comfort. Housekeeping: Kudos to the staff for a job well done! I've made a habit of bringing a spare pair of white socks to wear in room: both to test how clean the carpets are being kept as well as to prevent tracking dirt into bed. I'm happy to report that my socks were largely clean after a two-night stay. They took the trash, replenished bath supplies, and made my bed with care. I was delighted to leave them the daily tip! Breakfast: the standard hotel breakfast buffet is offered here, including a waffle machine. The OJ dispenser was out of commission both mornings with an apologetic note on its face; the apple juice was freely available. I observed the breakfast lady periodically replenishing but she didn't appear to be a "morning person" or too cheerful to answer guest questions. So, I didn't reward lackluster behavior with a tip. Overall, this property is a pretty good value: modernized, comfortable, clean, well-maintained, solid amenities, and moderate-to-spare hospitality. Would I stay here again? Maybe but there are 3 other hotels within a stone's throw. And, even though Springfield is not far from Eugene, it feels like a 100 miles away. This motel met above and beyond my expectations...Was here for a anniversary..Kid friendly ..i really enjoyed the makeup removers and other amenities that were available...The pool was a bit cold but did not stop the kids from enjoying a quick dip...Loved the fitness room and the equipment it had to offer..
I have to say upfront that the people at the front desk have tried to be helpful but I have stayed at a lot of hotels, and a lot of Best Westerns, and never seen such inefficiency. As I was about to check in, I was told that the water would be off for 3-4 hours because of a leak. We didn't see that as a problem but was surprised. Last night we were going to watch Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) NewsHour EXCEPT THIS HOTEL DOESN'T CARRY OPB! Why? Too expensive? Today CNN has been out all day and I doubt that is CNN's fault. The cheat sheet in our room says this hotel has newspapers, but when we asked we were told "we need to update that sheet" - in short, no newspaper! Room looks nice but if you look a little closer, furniture fabric is frayed, room not very clean -- and the water is off again today! We tried to use the exercise room and all of the equipment needs maintenance. This is a good location and the rooms are large but I agree with many other reviewers that it needs MANAGEMENT AND UPKEEP! I wouldn't recommend it as there are lots of other hotels around.
One star as the location is easy access to the freeway...otherwise this is a horrible and filthy hotel! We arrived late, as was scheduled and the hotel was previously aware. We were traveling with two young grandkiddo's in tow and wanted check in to go smoothly as we were traveling from Seattle and the kiddos were exhausted from the trip. Upon arrival, we were told we would have to wait...they couldn't get the door to the room to open. Seriously??? When the clerk finally found a set of keys that "might" work...we followed the clerk up the elevator with what he hoped was the magic key to open the room up...kids stumbling behind and our luggage cart loaded down. I should have guessed...as the filthy elevator had the dropped ceiling removed to expose the above ceiling wires, etc were all exposed. As the clerk opened the door to the room, he began to cry. Yes...a grown adult man began to SOB looking into the room that was obviously in the middle of renovation with a large industrial fan, empty paint cans, trash and had not been cleaned or given fresh linens since the last guest had been stuck with sleeping in this place. In the middle of his sobbing he let us know there were no other rooms available, the hotel was completely booked! Long story short...we cleaned the room OURSELVES, changed the bedding and got the kids to bed as it was about midnight by now. No room key could be provided as the door lock was broken... All the while the clerk was an emotional wreck. We had to talk him through the entire process. In his favor, he did provide towels, linens and cleaning supplies for us to clean and have towels for showering. As others have shown in reviews, the rooms, hallways, elevator, stairways, dining area...are a mess and need a deep cleaning, painting and many repairs. Outside the window in our room...our "lovely" view...above the entrance with the pillars... was piled with trash and old broken furniture! The next morning we took the kids down to a cheap and insignificant breakfast, then to swim in a dirty, cold (unheated) pool. I guess the owner is too cheap to heat the pool as advertised! As we were leaving we had to wait to check out as another guest was complaining of the poor condition of the hotel...shocker! The only compensation we were given for a dirty, torn up room that we had to clean and break into...was 20% off of the bill!!! According to the manager...this was all the OWNER would allow. Best Western...you are off our list!!!! This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had. I suggest you try another place.
We were just passing through and the rate was awesome compared to surrounding hotels. Solid free breakfast, too. Sign up for their Rewards program and you'll get an even better rate! We did that a few months ago while traveling and have now choses BW twice because of it!
This was the worst motel I've been ever. The first room smelt like a dog just finished his business. The room AC was all the way down and when I turned it up the smell got worse. The next room they sent me to had holes in the walls in the bathroom the ceiling and the front wall. The door jams had been destroyed and patched with some type of caulking with some kind of mismatched paints. The carpet in the entry and through the room had holes in it. I would not take off my shoes except to shower and just because I had a towel to stand on and put them back on so I could get to my bed. I pulled the sheets off the other bed because I didn't want my DOG to step on the floor either. If I haven't been on the road for 20 hours I would have found the dump and slept there. I have been a Best Western member for years and spent lots of time in motels. I have been in lots of nice ones but I don't have any Idea what the !!! they are thinking. Watch out for this one. I could go on or show pitchers but I think you can get the rest.
Spent a night in the Eugene, OR area, and chose the Best Western Grand Manor Inn in Springfield, which is just north of Eugene. The room was quiet, clean and the rate was very fair. The front desk recommended a place for dinner, and they delivered.
Another quality motel offered by Best Western. Outstanding staff, rooms are quite large, very clean and classy facility, plus the breakfast they offer was outstanding. This is why we choose Best Western !!!!
Our room was large and comfortable. They have the usual 'no smoking' policy which seems to be not very effective or enforced. They have balconies and as we came back from dinner four of those balconies had smokers enjoying the evening smoke. If you are going to have this policy enforce it, if you aren't going to enforce it do away with instead of threatening guests with a fine if they smoke. As I said our room was very comfortable and nice and very quite. The grounds are as others have said ... not taken care of at all or if they are it is not very often. Tall weeds everywhere and over grown lawn. For a Best Western Plus it leaves room for improvement and is a bit disappointing.
Very clean rooms with comfortable beds. Front desk personnel were very helpful and pleasant. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the sun with our beverages. Close to shopping and restaurants. We particularly like the Hop Valley across the street.
This a perfect place to spend a couple of nights. I arrived with two grand children who after a long drive needed to exert some energy in a pool. The check-in staff were excellent and gave me a senior rate for a large clean room with a patio. Breakfast was included and I would definitely recommend this Best Western
I stay at this hotel as a stop-over on regular visits to family. Have stayed 4 times and just made my 5&6th reservations. The rooms are incredibly spacious and clean, the front desk staff has always been friendly and welcoming. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. I have not had issues with noise in the hotel or from the exterior. For those not familiar with the area, it can be a bit difficult to find only because the area is built up with lots of hotels, restaurants, and retail. But that also means there are lots of options for food. I have not used the pool or other amenities. It is a pet friendly hotel, and the large rooms are a bonus. There did not seem to be a whole lot of places to walk your pets (lots of busy roads).
The grounds were horrible, lawn not mowed for months, a lot of weeds, & the garbage area was filthy with trash everywhere. We had been gone all day & came back to no room service, so had to go down & get towels for the next day. There was
No indoor pool, jacuzee or good sauna. But everything else was good. The fitness area and machines are really small. The sauna doesnt really work. The breakfast is good its like a buffet type. Overall experience was good. Nothing to complain about besides the lack of pool, jacuzee and sauna
Everything was great except the breakfast. The commercially produced hard boiled eggs while tasty were cold as were the sausages. Front desk staff were extremely helpful and made sure I had a conspicuous place to park my motorcycle which allowed me to sleep without being anxious.
Convenient off/on to I-5 freeway, but NO freeway noise. Ask for a room on side away from freeway to be sure There are several cafe/restaurants nearby and a Starbucks just across the main road 1/2 block away.
Our family was in town for a sporting event. The hotel had easy access to the freeway, many places to eat in walking distance, and close to a gas station. The hotel and room were clean. The room was big. My husband loved the soft beds. The breakfast was great with the warm items available. I noticed a few pets so I asked at check-in, I was told that pets were allowed for first floor rooms only (let them know at time of reservation). We didn't have pets with us on this trip.
My family and I needed to stop for the night after driving from Southern California. This hotel is so clean and well taken care of. Steven Micheal at the front desk was very helpful. Breakfast was great!!! Room sparkling clean and comfy comfy beds. Did I mention how clean the entire hotel was? I wish we could have stayed longer. Will defiantly stay again. Thank you!
When we have 5:00 am flights out of Eugene this is our go to hotel. The rooms are big, clean, quiet and the beds are so comfy. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. This is our new favorite place to stay before and after trips.
I have stayed here 2 times. Always clean, friendly staff and comfortable . I look forward to staying here in the future . The breakfast room kept spotless and always worry free stay. This time I got a double queen it was large and inviting. We were able to walk to Outback for dinner. Price is outstanding too!
This is a very nice facility, well appointed oversized rooms and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. However a couple of major disappointments. As I was checking in the owner happenned to pull up. Atleast I assume he was the owner as he pulled up in his big Mercedes right in front of the main entrance, partially blocking us paying customers. He seemed to like barking at his staff. No greeting to the customers, no "thanks for choosing Best Western, or anything like that. Then he proceeds to get on my case for booking through Expedia rather than their website. Not the reaction I would expect from any business owner, let alone someone in the hospitality business. Then there was their cable TV service (actually DISH). Normally I could care less about cable service as normally I don't even turn on the TV. However on this day, the only reason I even stopped in Eugene was to make sure I didn't miss the Nevada Wolfpack sweet 16 game. Unfortunately, even though the game was actually on network TV, the whole second half was blacked out at the hotel. The front desk was very apoligetic, but unable to rectify the situation. Pretty much defeated my whole reason for stopping in Eugene. I will say that I did catch the very end of the game at the brew pub across the street which was excellent (see separate review). So the bottom line is that if they ever get a new owner, and hook up to Comcast Cable, I will return to this hotel.
I periodically stay at this property for when my work sends me to Eugene and I have grown pretty accustomed to staying here. The staff is always friendly and so welcoming. They recently renovated all of their bathrooms (which I got to see the process ) and this was something the property really needed because the old bathrooms were very outdated. Laura and Brian really go out of their way for guests!
While traveling recently, I decided to stay at the best Western grand Manor Inn. It was a good decision as there is always fresh coffee, hot water for tea, the front desk is staffed at all times and the pet friendly rooms are clean and spacious. I have no complaints and if I need to stay in Eugene again I will make this my first stop.
I booked this hotel for a family funeral. A flight delay caused me to miss my connection and I appreciated the hotel management's understanding when I could not check in as planned. When I did make it to the hotel the next day, I would rate the hotel as adequate. The room was a clean and the staff helpful but the hotel lacked ambiance and the room had not been properly made up. Only one elevator made for routine waits getting to the second floor and the vehicle traffic was quite heavy around the hotel's location. Overall I would probably look to stay elsewhere on my next trip to the area.
Hotel is conveniently located. It needs some touch ups on appearance but overall it was a clean and safe place to stay while traveling especially with two large dogs. The room was large but a little dark. It had a comfortable bed.
Hotel is in a busy area. but was very quiet. The lobby is small and clean. Room was large, clean and the beds were really good(important). Easy access to freeway, downtown Eugene and Gateway Mall. Will stay there again.
I always enjoy staying at this Nest Western in Springfield Oregon. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Generally speaking the beds are okay. Of course there is?nothing like my own bed. The only complaint I have is turning into the street when traffic is?heavy it is a long wait getting in or out.
BW Grand Manor Inn used to be a great place to stay. We were willing to pay the approximately $140 per night because we could be assured of good cable options, WiFi and a comfortable bed. Lately, prices have gone up and comfort and amenities have gone down: DirectTV reception is poor - can't get NBC, CBS, or HBO. Sheets aren't being rinsed well and are full of chlorine so you itch all night. We do appreciate that the property is dog friendly, but we'll be looking for other options.
In addition to the ongoing issue of the TV service not functioning correctly and the, albeit relatively brief, lack of water issue, this AM I was informed no hot breakfast today because the hot breakfast person didn't show up. The rooms at the Comfort Inn, next door, are just about as nice and everything works. Besides, it's $12 a night cheaper so I guess I'll spend next week there.
it's a nice property and the staff are very nice and friendly but the management leaves something to be desired. We stay here fairly often and the last two times the TV has not functioned as it should. It only gets a few of the channels they claim and specifically PBS and the networks are not available. The answer seems to be "it's the satellite equipment and we are working on it". The truth is the management doesn't want to pay the price to have a qualified technician come and work on the problem. And today, I went to take a shower in the early afternoon only to find there was almost no water pressure. "We had to turn the water off for maintenance" was the response from the desk and, no, they didn't know when it would be normalized. it was only a couple of hours, fortunately.
I had a billing dispute with this hotel. At the time of check-out, additional fees showed up on my bill and charged to my credit card. There was a long line and obviously a family member, very young, working the counter. He was unable to help me with the overcharging of my credit card and called the manager at my request. The manager was "too busy." I was told that the manager would call me in an hour. I left my name, phone number and email address, not wishing to make a scene in front of so many customers. Two hours later, I called back. The manager was still "too busy." The next day I called, the manager was still "too busy." I called again on the third day, this busy manager was still "too busy." What the heck! He took several hundred dollars from my account, there was no motivation for him to talk to me. After a week of no response, I finally had to enter a dispute through my credit card and had the overcharges returned to me. The only reason why I gave this hotel one mark is that the rooms are set up nicely for the business traveler. But, buyer BEWARE!! There's a lot of comparable hotels in the vicinity, so not staying at this place is no skin off of anyone's back.
Stayed at hotel 4 nights. Television didn't work entire time. According to staff, the TV issue had been going on for some length of time. literature advertised newspaper in lobby - no newspapers. Smoke alarm activated in middle of night and remained on for several minutes which took care of that nights sleep. The breakfast was very good with a good selection. The room was clean and bed slept good.
Very clean rooms, T.V was not working properly remote was hard to operate. Front desk staff was great. Don't book during events they double the price of rooms and gouge people. I would stay at this hotel again if there was no where else to stay.
Our room was not clean when we checked-in and was not cleaned the following day either. The air conditioner is small and can not cool the room. The wi-fi is slow. It does have a refrigerator and microwave in the room.
Friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms, very good pillows. Room was spacious and afforded a territorial view from third floor. Nice balcony. Mediocre coffee setup. Skipped breakfast, which we've had here before (and which was fine) but opted for the adjacent Denny's.
Check in was great, staff friendly and very helpful. Room was clean and very nice. Not much I would change except better signage because you got to look for this one. Very good hotel and would love to stay here again.
Hotel and staff were excellent. Thank you for the new beds—so comfortable! We also noticed the new decor, paint, and carpet—we've stayed here before. The only disappointment was the lack of cable access to local or national news to check on the fires back home in northern California.
My wife and I were delighted with the spacious room and clever design of all the fittings. We found the reception staff helpful and efficient. Conveniently adjacent to a brew pub as well as other eateries. We would certainly stay there again.
The room was very nice, clean, and large. Internet was fast. Hotel is close to several restaurants and the Gateway Mall. Brewery is across the street and a very easy walk. Hotel is also close to I-5 freeway and the Beltline. Makes getting around town, from the hotel very accessable.
We booked this room in anticipation for our “2 concert get-away”. After purchasing tickets for Jimmy Buffett one night and Joe Bonamassa the next in Eugene, Oregon, the next task was choosing a Hotel for the trip. Because my husband has for work trips, frequently stayed at another BW properties, he strongly encouraged this property in Eugene. We”re so happy that we did. I can't say enough good things about The Grand Manor Inn, BW in Springfield. The front desk staff were super inviting and helpful, the room was clean, comfortable and very spacious. The breakfast was good, many choices to appeal to most pallets, even gluten free. We will be staying here when we return to Eugene. There simply is not a reason not to.
This hotel is conveniently located right off I-5. We had originally tried another hotel just around the corner, but they had no rooms. We got one of the last rooms here. Wow! They gave us a whole suite! We had two very comfortable beds, plus an enitre living room with a sofa. We had a nice, quiet, sound sleep. Then breakfast in the morning was more than adequate. We'd definitely stay here again.
They blessed me in a time of great crises. I would recommend them and I'm going back. On the value I put average only because I didn't expect it to be higher on the rate, but after checking they were comparable to the other hotels in that area. What can I say I'm cheap lol.
The room was very comfortable, lots of room and very clean. The fridge and micro wave were both in good working order. The bed was very cozy. This hotel is in a great location for easy off and on to the freeway. The only problem we encountered was the noise of the air conditioning unit.
I stay at hotels over 200 nights per year. This hotel surpassed all my expectations! THe hotel staff was wonderful but the rooms were the game changer! The oversized rooms with two king size beds and a sofa are really that. No feeling like you are staying in a closet. . The beds were extremely comfortable . I stayed here for business but will definitely come back with the family when traveling in this area.. The only drawback was that the pool is outside. So if traveling with kiddos make sure you take that into consideration depending on the time of the year. But in my book the rooms make up for it!
This hotel was in a total state of disrepair. From the missing TV when you walk in the lobby, to the missing ceiling tiles in the elevator. Our toilet overflowed during the night, and in the morning no one could find a plunger. I was assured our room/bathroom would be cleaned up while we were out. We returned at 6pm to find the same wet towels on the bathroom floor from the toilet over flow.
This hotel has easy freeway access, has several restaurants in walking distance, and is convenient to RiverBend Hospital and other medical offices. The Gateway Shopping Center is about a mile away. The hotel is clean, has a recently remodeled business center, hot breakfast, pleasant staff, and adequate parking.
Traveled through Springfield not long ago for after a long day of travel and had booked this hotel beforehand. My family has had trouble finding a suitable hotel for us to stay in Oregon, as we travel through Oregon regularly. We finally located this place and looked like a good fit. The location is in a good safe location and had a few restaurants nearby, as well as a gas station for those emergency items when you arrive really late. The check-in was easy, nice lobby and area for the continental breakfast. The rooms were clean and a bit larger than expected which was nice because we needed the extra space for my son's packaway crib. Will definately stay here again the next time we pass through.
I booked my room back in January 2017. Got to the hotel the night before the eclipse only to find out that my room had been cancelled. They did not sell the room to anyone else, but they would let me have the room for about $400 more that what I originally booked it for. I'm told they tried to contact me earlier in the day to let me know my room was cancelled due to a wrong credit card on file. Amazing. They said they called. I have no record of a voice mail, email, or text. This is just wrong. This hotel owner cancelled my room so he could get it for more money. Hey, I'm all for making money, but at what cost? I did not stay at this Best Western property. Nor did I stay at the other three bookings that I had on my trip up to Oregon. I cancelled on Best Western. Thanks for the memories.
Our room had the amenities of a much higher priced hotel. The staff were all great. The bed was quite comfortable and the room was quiet. Check in and check out were effortless. We were given the alternative of a gift bag or bonus points for being at the platinum level.
While the room was the usual comfortable room, we were staying in Eugene for a medical appointment. Because of this when we made our reservation we asked for a 1:00 pm checkout and was okayed by the nice man we spoke with who we assumed was the General Manager. However, the next morning the blond female front desk agent called us and in a very rude tone of voice told us we had no late checkout and had to get out immediately. Then she threatened us with the words "if you don't get out now you will charged for another day". On top of it all she was accommodating someone else for a "early check-in" to our room! Even though the checkout time was their mistake they would not accomodate us. We have always tried to stay at Best Western for many years several times a year and have always received excellent service and accommodations but never have we been treated so rudely by hotel personnel! So we highly do not recommend this Best Western!
The room was huge, clean and comfortable, with many very good food options. I wish I could have stayed longer, maybe next time. It was lovely, as was the entire trip through Oregon to see the eclipse.
I made a reservation online to stay here Aug. 20, just before the solar eclipse. The rate was $150 for the night. When we arrived at the hotel they said our reservation had been canceled due to a problem with my credit card on file. If we wanted to stay the night, we would be charged the "walk in" rate of $550. There was no problem with my credit card, but the hotel refused to honor my reservation. We were able to find accommodations elsewhere and have lodged a complaint with Best Western. I try to do business only with honest, ethical people.
We stayed the the Best Western Grand Manor and had an amazing stay. The staff was great and helped get us with letting us check in early. The rooms were extremely large and clean. We will definitely be staying here again!
This was my second stay here. We arrived before our room was ready, but the friendly staff offered us bottles of cold water, and the lobby was a comfortable place to wait. Rooms here are large and comfortable, and everything is spotless. The breakfast room was large, well-stocked and clean. The attendant was friendly and helpful.
Very nice looking hotel, but the cleanliness of the floors in our suite were not good. Our 10 month baby's feet, knees and hands would turn black just after crawling around for 15 mins. The drain in the shower also would not drain fast enough either.
This might be the only hotel I've ever seen with two Kings in one room! And the room was quite large as well. The breakfast and lobby are pretty standard. The only downfall was the pool, loved that it was outside, but it was actually pretty dirty so we couldn't use it. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. very clean hotel and a great value.
The absolute best part of this hotel is the room size, very spacious and we even got a double King room! The lobby and breakfast were clean and simple, as expected. The pool was the only downside for us, while it is outside, it was not very clean. Other than that, great location, great value!!
We stayed at the Grand Manor Inn during our trip through Oregon. Although it was a bit difficult to initially find, it turned out to be a good place to stay. The price was very reasonable and all of our needs were met. The hotel is a few blocks away from the I-5 so there is not a lot of traffic noise in the area. Close by was a good brewpub and a Denny's restaurant. The hotel breakfast was very good as it included eggs, bacon and waffles. We did not access the pool or fitness facility. Parking was very good with easy access to the front doors of the hotel.
We stayed at the Springfield Oregon site and the staff was very helpful with eating recommendations. The room was large and beautiful and very cool, air conditioner was running which was lovely. Very nice
We had a very comfortable stay. Slept harder in these beds than we do at home! The pillows were amazing. Staff was very fast with bringing us up the extra bath towels that we needed. We had a big group and they did their best at putting us all close together. If we ever go back to Springfield, Oregon we will definitely be staying here again.
We stay at Best Western Hotels almost every time we travel because for us it's worth what we pay but this time we made a big mistake with this Hotel. Worse Customer service!! The room we were in didn't have the basics: shampoo, body lotion, etc. The TV didn't work well, only some channels, the phone didn't work at all!! Nobody came to fix any of these items, and we went every time all the way to the front desk to ask for somebody because of the dead phone line....the dispenser machine didn't get 5 dollar bills, only quarters or one dollar bills.
WILL STAY THERE AGAIN IF THE OPPORTUNITY ARISES pool is very nice and access to highway is easy shopping is walking distance. Many different types of restraunts are within walking distance even though the highwayis close there is no traffic noise inside the motel
we were extremely satisfied with our stay at the Grand Manor, Springfield, Oregon and will definitely stay there should we travel that way again. we are traveling with our pet dog and really appreciated the service we received and kindness shown to us and our pet.
My family arrived around 7pm, which was three hours after check-in time started at 4pm. Upon our arrival, the room was absolutely not ready. We were given a key and sent upstairs, only to find the door cracked with messed up beds and a not-yet cleaned room. And this was THREE HOURS after we should have been able to check in! We immediately stuffed all of our luggage back in the car and were told that they were running behind and needed time to clean the room. We left, went to the store to stock up on goodies for our flight out of town the next morning, and expected to return to our cleaned room. When we arrived this time around, we found that our key no longer worked and the room had been given away to another family. At this point we had already picked up a hot dinner that we had planned on eating in the room, had all our luggage waiting by the door, and it was now around 9pm and we were exhausted. Despite all of this, however, the hotel managed to score a 4 star rating in our book because we were upgraded to a larger room that impressed us greatly. This time, the room was immaculately clean, the beds were quite comfortable, and the bathroom was nice as well. There was a mini fridge and microwave available, which was great. We appreciated the upgrade in light of the frustrating mix-up and would probably return in the future.
Canceled our reservation before we got there and had to reinstate it; did this to one of my sons too. The HOT breakfast was lukewarm which can be dangerous especially for eggs and sausage. Could make one sick and surely wouldn't pass food service inspection. My decaf was nearly cold too. The room was marginally clean with leftover soap bar in tub soap dish when we arrived, debris behind nightstand and eye drops from a previous guest found under a chair. Maid service during the stay was sloppy. With family and friends all at this location, we occupied at least 6 rooms.
This could be a lovely property, but there are so many little problems that management need to address. As I was checking in, I noticed a sign that alerted housekeeping to a problem with the dumpster area being full of hypodermic needles. This is not the way I wanted to start my stay, but I understand the staff need to know, but in full view of guests? We were checked into a room that had not been cleaned, went back to the front desk and were given another room. The front desk person also obviously new, forgot to return my ID and CC, which I did not catch either, but had passed by a couple times before she flagged me down to return them. This property has nicely appointed large rooms, some have sliding glass doors with small balconies. I went out to enjoy the balcony and could smell a strong stench. Walked out to the parking lot and the dumpster was badly over full and there are rats running around. That explained the smell. The common areas and halls have nice molding that is badly chipped from housekeeping carts and vacuums. There are other minor deferred maintenance issues throughout the property. The rooms are a nice size, there was a mini-fridge, coffee maker, desk with places to plug in phones/computer, and a couch. The vanity with counter space is separate from the shower and toilet, which is always a plus. Nice lighting in the room, the internet was fast. The screen door to the balcony was tweeked, did not want to slide, the balcony had a lot of spider webs and bird poop. To have such a nice amenity I paid extra for be unusable due to smell and condition is not acceptable. The breakfast buffet was very nice, waffle maker, section for make your own egg dish, breakfast meats, yogurt, cereal, a nice coffee bar. There were only a couple of us there at 9:00, and apparently that is the time it closes, as the attendant came in a cleared out all the hot items. I have never been to a breakfast bar like this where the attendant did not come around and ask if I would like anything else before they cleared the hot items or announce the buffet was closing in 5-10 minutes so you could grab what you wanted. Nice location, right off I-5, close to C-stores, restaurants and Hop Valley Brewing, which has good food too. No room for oversized parking or RVs. Close to I-5, some might not appreciate the road noise. Just so many problems at what could be such a nice property.
We had never stayed here when we have traveled south but we will try and stay here every time now. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was fantastic. It is in a great location. easy to get on and off the freeway.
If you like a room that is not cleaned very well this is the hotel for you. I was on a business trip to Eugene and my family came up to stay with me the last night of my trip. When they pulled out the sleeper bed they discovered some hardcore gay porn magazines behind the couch. It appears the staff here don't really check and clean all areas of the room. My first night here they didn't even replace my towels. Not very good service at the front desk as well.
Was given this Hotel to stay during my husbands open heart surgery. They said the Hotel gave discounts. I used Expedia to book the room for surgery. Upon check in the young man stated he would apply the hospital discount. He was also aware we had AAA and AARP because I offered to show him my cards. Upon checking out I questioned the room rate because of the discounts, none were given. She said that she couldn't give discounts when you use Expedia. So that irritates me twice, why didn't my check in clerk tell me? What difference does it make booking through a site? Then I had a large black spider in my bed Have photo) and she apologized and shrugged.
The hotel staff mistakenly double-charged our debit account for the entire stay, rather than the credit card we provided on the night we arrived. Instead of reversing the charges immediately, we were promised each day that a manager was taking care of it. After 5 days with no reversal, or call back from the manager, I had to dispute the $800+ mischarge at my bank. The pool was green and closed in July. This was all avoidable and even though we have stayed here dozens of times over the years, (super comfortable beds) NEVER AGAIN!
This hotel was a good value and in an excellent location for food and shopping. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was very good and could only improve if the staff were informed what hot items were gluten free. Although they did try and find the information.
Best Western in Springfield, OR is a clean well run hotel with great people, great rooms, and plenty of good food surrounding the hotel. Price is right for what you get. I will stay there again. The grandkids had a tremendous time in the swim pool and bouncing on the beds. What else can you ask for.
We were in town for a family wedding. Check-in was courteous, but slow. A line of several guests and only one person at the desk- this was the staffing all weekend. Our car alarm went off during our first night there. They persistently called until we answered and could get to the car. Annoyance is sometimes the best policy. They lost a point for Fox News in the breakfast room.
Wonderful, clean and friendly hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable. I appreciated the sheets covered the bedfing, which all hotels do not do. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds and extremely clean and well serviced. The breakfast included eggs and was much more than the typical continental breakfast. We will choose Best Western again.
Most of cable TV out..... no discount given on room price.... no apology for sub par amenities.... room price was $ 160 per night and certainly not worth the cost for a so so hotel with not good TV service.... at check out we were given manager tel # to call and his phone had no voice mail box set up to leave a message
This is our hotel of choice anytime we're in Eugene. I would recommend it to anyone. I like the location, the staff is awesome, the rooms are clean and roomy, free wi-fi, free breakfast, and The Outback is practically next door!
Other than the beds to soft and pillows to hard and they picked a very busy weekend to power wash the exterior, which was noisy the stay was okay. The staff was very nice. I made no complaints. All that being said I would stay again.
Great stay nice hotel and accommodations and great service. I would strongly recommended this hotel, they provided great service, great breakfast, and I really like the design and appearance of this hotel.
Hotel was nice. Location was great. Lots to walk to. Lobby couple use some work. And the elevator needs to be updated. But all in all the hotel was fine. The staff took care of what needed to be taken care. Of.
the hotel receptionist was great. He is very good at his job and has excellent customer service skills. The room was very clean. All the staff were friendly. The breakfast was also great way to start the day! We will come back for sure:)
Easy to get off and on I-5 good location with lots of shopping, food and gas station, very clean and well managed. The rooms were very nice with lots of room. We have a pet and sometimes hotels do not give you the best rooms, but the room we had was as nice as any hotel we have been in. Would not hesitate to recommend this Inn to anyone. All the staff was very helpful.
Were stayed there because my hubs had surgery at Riverbend hospital. We expected day surgery and it ended up being a hospital stay over night and another night to be close to the hospital. The owner and general manager of the hotel went out of their way to give us a 3rd night and even moved our things from one room to another, during a time when hotel rooms could not be found...
I stayed here because I was looking for a house to buy in the area and it seemed nice. When I checked in Alejandro was very nice and professional and I thought based on my experience at check in, it would be a pleasant stay. The wifi was poor and I had issues with the internet loading pictures on real estate web sites so I couldn't continue my housing search. At about midnight, someone was walking around on the roof and making a lot of noise making it hard to sleep. The next morning, I got woken up at 7:30 am by the housekeepers yelling loudly back and forth down the hall. After not being able to sleep and then being woken up early I was not happy. I had put the do not disturb on the door but housekeeping still knocked on the door a little after 9 am. My friend who stayed with me found black hair on her pillows that did not belong to either of us. When I got out of bed in the morning I noticed I had been sleeping on stained sheets that didn't look like they had been washed. I was not informed upon check in that there was construction happening at the hotel, had I known I would have asked to be in a room where I wouldn't have to worry about so much noise late at night. I went to check out and addressed these issues with Robin who really didn't seem to care about the bad experience we had and just shrugged it off. He was completely unprofessional in his appearance, shirt was wrinkled and untucked, and his demeanor. He didn't try to make my unpleasant stay better and I left angry. Needless to say, I will never stay at this best western again or recommend it to anyone I know.
I would stay in this motel anytime I am in Springfield. Breakfast was exceptional. close to hospitals, Mall and Restaurants. Easy Freeway access Staff is very friendly with out being fake. Very roomy guest rooms.
Hotel was clean as expected and guest room was nice and large! Staff was extremely accommodating for our special request. Opened breakfast 2 hours early and allowed late check-out for Marathon participants.
Great stay no problems. we had a trailer on our truck and the staff allow us to park it there for the next day while we went to the Oregon ducks spring football game. wonderful staff gave great service. we loved the breakfast
We had a really nice stay here. The room was spacious. With a fridge and microwave, you could be set. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was very good. They had eggs, bacon, sausage, gravy as well as cereal, muffins and yogurt. And they kept an eye on the food so they didn't run out of anything. There's also an elevator, so you don't have to lug your bags up the stairs. The pool is outdoors, and there's no hot tub. There is a little (tiny) fitness center. Probably OK for most people. The only complaint I had was that the shower didn't have a working spray setting. Your choices were a hard stream or water or a harder stream of water. We had a standard room with a king bed. I really liked that they provided actual furniture to sit on and didn't expect you to sit on the bed for a soft place to sit. The sofa and chair with a coffee table gave it a homey feel.
The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are roomy and the beds are comfy. The selection of TV channels is very limited and none in HD. The major networks wouldn't even tune in on this visit. I stay here quite often and keep being told they are going to upgrade but I have been told that for almost a year. Think I'll try somewhere else next time.
Upon arrival, the manager took a direct interest in how my stay would be. I noticed the same drive from all BW employees while I was there. I will definitely stay here again. If you are looking to stay at a motel where you are treated like you are not only an important part of their business, but to be treated almost like you are family, then this is the place.
I rented this room to be with my mother who underwent surgery at Riverbend. I was able to get a room that had 2 queen beds at a reasonable hospital rate. From the time I booked the room through my stay there, everyone was pleasant. It is perfectly located: close to the hospital, decent restaurants and comfortable rooms. I ate breakfast only one of the days because of commitments at the hospital didn't coincide with breakfast times. However, it was good. My room was very comfortable. I would stay there again.
Only problem was the bed was worn out and had a little divit or a fat man's butt was sleeping. Other than that my stay was exceptional here. Breakfast was great and warm the doors or thick enough that you don't hear anybody in the hallway ever.
This is such a bummer! I stay here all the time, and just last month I found out they can't take phone reservations, or online reservations with a credit card that has a chip. I don't understand why they cant. I've stayed at many BW that do take reservations with the chip. This is a great hotel to stay at otherwise. I really don't want to change where I stay, but my business makes all my reservations and if they can't take a chip card, then I have no other choice.
after travelling for several hours in bad weather and very stressful we looked for the high in the sky the Best Western sign. We found it and we got off the highway easily and in no time we checked in and we were de-stressing and enjoying the comfort of our room with all the amenities that we have come to expect in our favorite travelling accommodations We always pick Best Western when we travel. Have never been disappointed. The morning breakfast is always important..
Great place to stay. Clean rooms and very large. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Many choices to eat in walking distance from the Best Western. We will stay here again. Quiet and very comfortable beds.
Very convenient location near the I-5 freeway and despite the busy area the rooms are well insulated and quiet. Many places to eat within walking distance and it feels like a "safer" area for a woman traveling alone than downtown Eugene. Check in and checkout were very efficient and my request for a ground floor room was honored. The breakfast was ample and varied . This is my home whenever I go to the dog shows in the Eugene area. My only complaint is the vast number of cigarette butts littered everywhere. I don't smoke so I find it very offensive. There were no butt receptacles located anywhere around the hotel.
The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I loved the separate sink area for getting ready in the morning. We were able to work out too. The room was quiet even though we had the balcony on the street side. The staff was very kind and positive.
The experience at this hotel was awful!! I was in Eugene for a family member who was in the Riverbend hospital. I was told by the hospital that the hotel offered discounts to those with family in the hospital. THEY DO NOT!! I was told by the "assistant manager" that "we never agreed to anything. And besides, it is only 10%". Well I was scheduled to stay for 3 days and ended up needing to stay for 5! That would have been a nice discount! And if they did not have the room available, I would not have been told I could extend. So why the increase?? It isn't like the room was already booked!! To make matters worse, the increased the room charge $40 for Friday and over $90 for Saturday!!! Explanation: "we have a college game in town". Here is where the discount would have been nice as well. My room was old, had patched holes in the wall, horrible stains on the wall in the bathroom and a microwave that didn't work the entire time. The hallway carpets are VERY dirty and musty smelling. And I was there 5 days! On my last night, I had been to the hospital for 12 hours, and upon return to my room at 6pm, it was STILL dirty!! It looked like the maid had been in the room, but had not finished. When she returned to finish my room (after I called the front desk), she told me she had been on a break. I don't begrudge people getting a break. I blame management for poor practices that allow a room to be neglected for 12 hours during the day!! I have never been treated so poorly! And I would have never stayed there if there had not been good reviews on this site! In hindsite, I should have just moved to another hotel, but I was at the hospital for family and that was my focus.... only to be met with this garbage upon return to my room each day. DO NOT RECOMMED THIS HOTEL!!! EVER!!!
Excure me, am I bothering you?? I am trying to stay at your hotel but the staff seemed to busy doing other things behind a closed office door than help customers check in OR out. AND don't get me started on the computer/printer...please don't reuse printed emails just because the back of the page is not printed on, how about shreding it for the security of your customers.
This has been one of our go to places to stay when visiting the Springfield/Eugene area. The hotel has always been clean and comfortable to stay in. The hot breakfast is great and the beds are comfortable. The location is also a plus with many other food options to choose from and various gas stations nearby. It's also close to shopping, a real centrally located hotel to every amenity.
Decent hotel. Have nice balconies, although your just looking at parking lots and other businesses. Spacious room. Tv was a bit fuzzy. Above average breakfast. Downgraded as there were a few cleaning issues - towels stuffed in the pullout, a pill found by my 16 month old on the floor, and a dirty sham. Also a bit over priced, but it was late and we were tired.
We've stayed at this hotel every month for years. Since the latest remodel, it's just not the same quality. There is paint and trim missing. There are no towel racks. The water smells funny, kind of like tar. There was no clock in the room. The sheets were stiff. Two of the female employees we interacted with over the phone were rude. The parking spaces have always been tight and the room layouts have never been the best ie bed across from bathroom sink area, tvs not across from bed for easy viewing but it has been adequate for a nights stay. It has just become more and more disappointing and with so many other hotels in the area, there is probably a better experience to be found elsewhere.
On our way to Seattle we needed a hotel that was close to the highway and we decided to stay at the Best Western Grand Manor Inn in Eugene. The hotel is located directly next to the highway and in an industrial area with a lot of supermarkets, fast food restaurants and other industrial facilities. The hotel itself is quiet and in a modern style and has a free parking area directly in front of the hotel. Our room was well sized and had a microwave, TV screen, two king size beds and a bathroom. It was located next to the reception desk (not the best room due to the sound from reception desk but cheaper than other rooms in the house), well cleaned and for one night a good alternative to more expansive hotels in town. If you are just on a way through and don't want to stay for longer we can recommend this hotel.
Nice rooms but a tight parking lot. Good sized TV and a good fridge in the room, but the ice machine on our floor was not working so had to go down a couple of flights of stairs. Clean. The hotel has an elevator which is useful for hauling luggage in or out and the auto door helps also. The breakfast room looked good but we went to the IHOP a few doors down. Although we did avail of the free coffee in the lobby for that extra morning jolt.
its always the best place to stay for location and price. will never stay any place else for concerts, ducks game, close to mall and food and bus into eugene. Plus their rooms and beds are always clean and comfortable
When we checked in, I asked if there was a wine opener in the room. I was told there was not. I asked if I could come to use one at the desk. I was told that no one in the hotel had an opener "because people kept taking them." I was surprised that this was a customer service request that could not be -- somehow -- fulfilled. I have stayed in probably six different hotels in the Springfield/Eugene area and this hotel had the slowest internet I have experienced, which could impact some travelers. However, the room was good sized, I appreciated having the refrigerator available and the complimentary breakfast included hot items as well as cold, which is a nice touch.
The Best Western Grand Manor is close to I-5 and easy to get to. There is a Starbucks 1 block away and a brew pub across the street. My room was of nice size and seemed clean enough though it's getting a bit dated. Complementary breakfast was typical and adequate.
Very Large Rooms with microwave and frig. Nice Breakfast spread with hot and cold food. Located very near Main Highways for easy access to Eugene, 5 minutes away. Only downside was attitude of one of the clerks at the front desk, who didnt really seem to care about the customers. Maids were exceptionally nice and helpful!!
We often stop at this hotel on our way to Portland, but it has been several years since we've been there. We were pleased to see they'd remodeled the lobby and breakfast room to make it even more attractive to guests. The registration clerk that served us was clearly new, so we gave her some grace as she stumbled through checking us in while trying to answer the phone and other guest questions. We chose to be on the 3rd floor, with a large King suite that was even nicer than the rooms we'd booked on previous visits. Breakfast options are decent, if not haute cuisine. I referred friends there this year and they were also pleased with the stopover.
Location, service, availably cleanness, cost, were all with-in the required affordability for me, breakfast was well prepared and on time for all guests, very clean and served hot with a good verity of choices, really liked the availably of a local newspaper for all guests
very nice room, gentleman that checked us in was very helpful getting us directions. Also with advice on places to eat. Breakfast was a little better than the usual, more variety. This facility is located in a nice commercial park.
Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Also, very quiet. The only problem we found was lighting. The lamps (four) provided very soft light which made it difficult to see or read. Access to the motel is fairly easy. Plenty of places nearby to eat.
The hotel looked nice on arrival and the room were comfortable and well laid. A swim in the pool after a 5+ hour drive was definitely a bonus and the location of the hotel amongst local restaurants was perfect for the one night stop. One thing that almost made this review a 3 star rating and certainly stopped it from being 5 was the greeting at front desk. Although cheerful and welcoming, we were told by arriving later in the evening (around 8:30) that our room was close to being given away as a presumed no show. Having travelled since 7am from Canada with two kids, this would definitely have caused a major issue and I'm sure isn't normal practice amongst hotels.
The room was large and the bed was comfortable. What we mostly wanted was a quiet location so we could get some rest between two long days of driving, and this did the trick. We were on an upper floor which is usually my preference due to possible noise overhead.
Hotel is convenient, clean, nice staff, good, breakfast, pool, dry sauna, and workout room! Breakfast offers many options from eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage, fruit, pastry, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, etc!! Pool is heated, and dry sauna is hot!Great place for business, family, friends, and traveling solo.
The room was very large, clean and modern. The breakfast was quite good, with a variety of items, hot and cold. The location was wonderful. Front desk staff were very nice, even when I arrived very late and the poor guy was trying to handle a problem. My only complaint was the floor of the tub/shower squeaked, never had that one before. I loved my balcony, not much of a view, but it could open the door and feel the breeze. For the money, this was a pleasant surprise.
I had the very unpleasant experience of staying at this Best Western on August 14, 2016. First the front desk person was having a frustrating day. Seems she was stuck doing several shifts in a row that she didn't want to do. That may be why she was inattentive and rude. After waiting for 20 minutes at the front desk while she was talking on her phone we finally got checked in. Once in our room no shampoo, conditioner, Kleenex or soap. Had to ask. Went to use the pool but there was a family at the pool with 2 large dogs which were swimming in the pool. DISGUSTING!!!! Went back to our room. We laid down on the bed to watch some tv and this is when I felt something large and pokey underneath me. I threw back the covers to discover dirty sheets and a bottle of Aspercream (muscle rub) laying in between the sheets. I complained at the front desk and she was apologetic and moved us. I voiced how upset I am and request that something monetary is needed to satisfy something this DISGUSTING AND FILTHY that has occurred. She said she couldn't. I would need to call back on Monday. Once in our new room the a/c barely worked. Was a hot unpleasant night. I called back on Tuesday and was told they would give me 10% off. I refused and asked to speak to someone higher up. This is where it gets interesting. The owner was a rude man with a strong foreign accent. He basically told me to go screw myself. He said they did nothing wrong. By them moving us to new room he fixed everything. So basically it's okay at this hotel to not change the bedding and allow dogs in the swimming pool. BE VERY CAUTIOUS IF YOU STAY HERE! YOU MAY END UP WITH SOME NASTY DIRTY INFECTION FROM EITHER SLEEPING IN SOMEONE ELSES DIRTY SHEETS OR FROM THE DIRTY POOL WATER!!!! Very sad because the outside of this hotel is very appealing and nice looking but as they say LOOKS ARE DECEIVING !
This review comes because I had been HACKED, my card had been used to reserve this hotel in my name illegally. I only know this because this location's front desk worker DID NOT notify me of such fake reserve the night I was supposed to show up, by which the next days front desk contacts me @ 3:30pm to ask where I and my party were?? Not only did she have no care for my or my parties well being (as to why we were late/did not show) but was not interested in my explanation as to why such reservation could not exsist and continued to tell me about the third party called Expedia and to contact them and soon charged my card. Are these people just trained to get the money money or just dont use/have common courtesy/logic!!! Gorramn!!!
This place is quiet, Awesome pillows and bed. The breakfast was very good and very handy to services & shopping. The room was very nicely appointed and large enough to host a gathering of 8 or 10. The internet was easy to log into and was a fast enough connection with no lags or problems. There is a restaurant next door that may be a 24 hr. ? not sure but the food was good and plenty for the price.
Poor amenities - no hair dryer in room, only one towel per guest, stained carpet when exiting elevator, all suite doors look like they have been kicked repeatedly. Lower level management in some instances poor in customer service.
This Best Western is updated to modern décor, except fort the old style signage. Friendly staff and quiet comfortable and spacious rooms. Best bed I have slept in with sink into luxury. First rate in my book for a moderately priced hotel. Your typical breakfast that I have not come to like--some kind of eggs make into folded over eggs with cheese in the middle. Always tasteless to me and don't compare to the real thing. I don't eat gluten so the waffles, muffins, and other things are not something I can eat. Coffee is just OK. If they update and breakfast, it would be a first rate in my book.
Was told they have truck parking... They don't!! But after they helped me find a parking spot I checked in, very nice room very comfortable, very reasonably priced I would recommend this Bestwestern to anyone needing a place to rest or stay over in Springfield, Or.
Wonderful if traveling with dogs--great rooms, dog friendly. Restaurants you can walk to and sit outside. Friendly staff, big rooms with fridge and microwave. I'm supposed to write more for this review but that's all I can think of.
The rooms at this hotel are very big with nice sitting area. It was clean and everything worked. Great TV with lots of channels. The pool was clean and the perfect temperature. The breakfast was just ok as they ran out of coffee. Staff were a bit slow to refill breakfast items. I would stay here again as it was a good value.
This hotel lacks in service, cleanliness, and breakfast. The front end staff seems more concerned about their cell phones than taking care of their customers. You would be better off staying at the Marriott Court Yard across the street.
We stayed only one night for business, the staff was very helpful, room was clean and large. Bed was very comfortable and the atmosphere was quiet, no road noise but still very close to access freeway. Hotel is very close to restaurants and convenience stores. The continental breakfast was very good.
The desk staff was some of the worst I have ever encouintered. Room was good and bed very comfortable. That dose not make up for the staff. Good parking and clean room were very good. The attitude of the people working the desk destroyed the experience.
Hair in gravy at breakfast. Lighting throughout is done incorrectly, creating a dreary atmosphere. Paint colors in the room are dreary. Extra towels requested, never materialized. Shower head broken, had to change rooms. Shower head didn't work well in the second room. There were spider webs and some fixtures not dusted. The staff was immature and not at all professional. The cost of $237 seemed high, and it was overall the worst hotel experience ever!!!
The best thing about this hotel, is the delightful front desk person named Robi. She is kind, and went out of her way to try and get us another room, but the hotel was full. She was great. Now, the not so great stuff. The bed is positioned in the large bedroom directly in front of the toilet. The TV is off to the side so much, that the remote only works if you get out of the bed to change the channel. Wifi was spotty -- barely ok. In the toilet/bath area directly in front of the bed, there are no towel bars. No towel bars, no hooks, nothing to hang a towel on or clothes. One day they forgot to give us any clean towels. What I consider the final insult to our injury was having to sit through Fox News in the breakfast room. A mediocre breakfast with Faux Noise in the background was really unbearable. I suggest something more moderate like CNN. I'll never return to this hotel. :(
Hotel personnel were disorganized, attitudes need improvement. Room layouts dis-functional, WiFi non-functional, room amenities lacking. Overall, for the cost of a nights stay there are other Best Western facilities that out-perform the Grand Manor.
Don't stay here, they give you crap for your hard earned dollars, Motel 6 would have been better. I expect a certain level of quality for a "Best" Western. They used to be number one on the travel circuit, I may start using another chain. Some are wonderful but they seem to be slipping into the big chain "who cares we got your money" attitude.
Very wonderful stay! Most impressed with the friendly staff, delicious breakfast and the delightful room! Will definitely return to this Best Western :) I also enjoyed the outdoor pool, as we visited in June. The weather was so beautiful, so being outside was a plus. Very satisfied indeed!
There are so many positives about this location. It is easy to find off I-5. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, many in walking distance. Rooms are large and clean, with excellent AC. Service was top notch, with all staff being very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offers hot and cold choices, which is rare. The biscuits and gravy can't be beat. Our only complaints are that the electric outlets would not charge our gadgets, so we had to use the lamp outlets. We usually bring our own pillows, so we were sorry we did not do that this visit. The pillows were tiny square things with lumpy stuffing. Just not what we expected on a king size bed. We did not get to use the pool because it was being repaired when we arrived. Positives definitely outweighed the few negatives!!
Dirty Microwave, food under sofa, stains on sheet's, No rack for towels to hang in bathroom, had to hold down handle to flush toilet, sink drained slowly, spots on closet mirror and Amenity's on the back of toilet when there was plenty room at sink for all.
We enjoyed the room, the staff, the food and the stay. The room's interior decoration and space was excellent, also quiet. The staff was helpful, the location made everything is the area easily accessible. We are hard graders, but this property easily made our expectations.
We stopped in Springfield for the night, needing a pet friendly hotel. We selected a mid-range priced hotel from the Trip Advisor list and held our breath in anticipation of what we'd find. First, I never give a 5 star rating because there's always room for improvement. We didn't find anything here that needed improving on. The front desk personnel were pleasant and helpful, the room we had (116) was beautifully appointed, clean, everything worked, it was quiet and it was huge! The breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast, but it was hot and plentiful. I highly recommend this facility if you need a pet friendly hotel while in the Eugene area.
First, I will just start off by saying I will never book a hotel through Hotel. com. again...Thanks to Chris the hotel manager at the Best Western Grand Manor inn who stepped in and helped me with a 24hour battle with Hotel.Com over a lost reservation that was made a month prior to my stay at the Best Western Grand Manor Inn. Chris you Rock! Okay enough about Hotel. Com.... This Hotel was great! The service was awesome, the staff as excellent. the room was amazing very clean and huge, when you walk in the lobby the smell was fresh. The breakfast was the best. Thank you to the staff for a amazing stay..
The room I checked into was even larger than I expected. The king sized bed was very comfortable and rewarded me with a good night's sleep. The thermostat was easy to understand and kept the room comfortable. While not luxurious, this room met all my needs. Breakfast was a treat. The coffee was actually good! There were little cheese and egg pockets with condiments like salsa. There were sausage patties instead of those awful little links. There were apples and bananas. And more good coffee for the road!
We have only good things to say about this Best Western. It is very clean, attractive, comfortable hotel in a good location with restaurants in walking distance. We only stayed one night to visit an old friend but would absolutely stay again if we were in the area.
Very pleasant experience. We travel tons with our kids for traveling sports and I have to say we really appreciated the breakfast. It was hot, fresh and lots of variety. Perfect to get them fueled for the day. The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly. Will be our first call for rsvp when in Eugene.
My husband and I stayed here together one night. The next day he had surgery and was in the hospital so I spent the second night by myself. The room was very large and very clean. I was a little shocked that the hair dryer looked as if it had been pulled off the wall and was laying on the counter. Even more surprised that the hair dryer did not have a night light. The positioning of the bathroom door left the area very dark for the middle of the night. Kind of a stumble around and feel your way type of thing. The bed for me was very uncomfortable. The pillows were the worst. I cannot understand why hotels use half size pillows. It takes two pillows to make the size of one standard pillow. They were very uncomfortable and I could not use them the way I usually would use my pillow. The bed for my husband was fine. He had no complaints. The room was large and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast area was nice and clean and a good amount of food and drink choices. I would stay here again as a second choice if my favorite hotel was full. The staff were nice and the lady who booked my room was very helpful and sweet. This hotel is located very well to everything you could possibly need. Do not hesitate to book a room here. Remember just because the bed was uncomfortable for me it seems most people like the beds. That is a very personal thing and not to be taken too seriously. The rooms are nice.
Clean rooms, comfortable bed. I like the bathroom sink separate from the tub and toilet. That might not work for people who aren't on the same schedule. It would be annoying to be in bed and have your roommate getting ready to leave and have the noise and light. We had a king room, which included a couch (hide-a-bed) and a chair, a desk with chair and a refrigerator. Enough room if you like to workout in your room. You could bust out some burpees and not worry about cracking a toe on the furniture. :) Decent breakfast: make-your-own waffles, hot choices were bacon, sausage patties, diced potatoes and sausage gravy. Had the usual bread and biscuit choices, cereal, yogurt and toppings, fresh fruit.
This Best Western is just a few blocks off I-5, just far enough so you don't hear the traffic. There are several other chain hotels and restaurants in the area. The staff provided good service. The room was good-sized with a sofa, writing table and refrigerator. There was a small patio too. There were some maintenance issues. The transition between the carpeted bedroom area and the tiled bathroom had what looked like temporary white tape which was pealing up, instead of a permanent wood or metal strip. The black paint on the metal patio rail was also peeling. The breakfast was the standard Best Western breakfast.
Everything was great. The room was really big and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel was located next to some wonderful restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Was very pleased that they had a couple of rooms free for those who had to stay unexpectedly. Great rooms, staff, bed was very comfortable. For the price is this place was awesome! Restaurants within walking distance!
Nice room, clean, quiet, friendly staff. Really loved the pillows and bedding. We arrived late but there was a friendly night desk person who recommended the Hop Valley brewery across the street for a late dinner, which was a good tip.
Loved the look of this hotel and the inside did not disappoint. Very clean, spacious lobby not filled with clutter; LARGE rooms with big sitting area, nice desk area, sofa bed, etc. and some rooms have balconies and chairs. We wanted something close for dinner just so we could relax and NOT drive and wow, there was a wonderful brewery right across the street (Hop Valley) with a really nice menu with lots of delicious choices. I had the beef stroganoff (YUM) and husband had a deluxe burger. Local brews on tap that hit the spot! We'd return for sure. Really friendly service too.
I travel a lot and stay in hotels at least 150 nights each year (250?). Best Western/best Western Plus hasbecome my most frequent choice. This property is one of my favorites. The staff, especially Robbi, has always been excellent. The rooms have always been clean quiet, comfortable and spacious. And, there is a great selection of nearby restaurants.
Other than the lack of towel racks I highly recommend the Best Western Grand Manor. Internet was fantastic, room was clean, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, but they did have a problem with running out of food and taking a long time to refill.
The spaciousness of our Best Western room surprised us, and the overall quality of the the room met all our needs: microwave, internet, fridge, coffee maker, and furniture were all first rate. And we enjoy accumulating points toward free stays.
This Hotel is just off I5 provided us with everything we needed for a good night's rest during our trip to CA. A great restaurant on the property called Pete's Pizza that has a great casual dining menu for lunch or dinner.
Good staff, breakfast was typical, lots of parking not much else to say .. how much wood would a wood chuck chuck . I cannot think of anything else I would like to say about this hotel another than this review process is a bit annoying
Receptionists with an attitude. When I asked her where the gym was she just nodded her head in the direction and said, “down there.” There wasn't any sign on the door where the gym was so I ended up going in circles until I figured it out.
This best western has recently been remodeled and is very clean. comfortable and stylish. The only down side is the options at breakfast, but it is the typical complimentary breakfast and is is free. There are many hotels in the location, but I like the friendly and helpful staff and the overall feel of this hotel.
We were visiting relatives in the area. BW Manor Inn was a great place to stay. Conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, etc. Lots of hotels in that area, but surprisingly quiet. We will stay there again when we return!
the beds were very comfortable as were the pillows, loved them and would love to know where I could purchase 4 of them. The sheets were very crisp and felt good. I would stay there again. The first time we stayed at the Best Western in Eugene near the University but since school was in session our friend advised against staying there. This was quiet and had very easy in and out of the motel and avoided a lot of the traffic.
For the money Best Western hotels are by far my favorite. Always clean and comfy. The staff is very accommodating and I sleep like a baby as the beds are very plush. If you've found checking into hotels to feel like a gamble where you never seem to know what you're going to get, then I recommend making Best Western your pick for whatever your travel reason. Best Western has never been a let down for me regardless of location.
we had a quick check in with a very nice lady ,we had a great night sleep in a very clean room, we had a wonderful breakfast with many different items to choose from ,then we had a very quick and nice check out.
We stayed at this hotel on March 11th, two rooms, two families, 3in one room, 4in another with a dog in each room. A week later we booked two rooms for our return journey, as before. When we checked in March 27th, we were informed that the "dog policy" had changed from $10 per night to $20 per night. We had not been informed when booking and objected to the doubling of the pet charge, the front office staff were most apologetic and reasonable but were unable to adjust the pet rate. New rules, they insisted, nicely but firm. After contacting the manager by phone, we were informed, no change. How shortsighted, for the sake of $20 they have lost a customer. The new pet policy should have been explained when we phoned the hotel to book our return journey. Not so pet friendly at $20 per night, with a $150 security deposit on your credit card. Thanks to this very nice hotel. I was able to surprise my husband on our wedding anniversary. I was able to afford a very nice king size suite. It was worth the extra money too. The room was clean, beautiful, quite and large! We even was near the elevator and still we heard nothing. We slept like babies and enjoyed the room so much we didn't want to leave to grab dinner. The breakfast was very good, coffee hot and it was never empty. The very sweet employees smiling and offered me anything. I already had everything I needed because they did such a great job. Very clean breakfast room. I really like this hotel, one of my favorites.
We found the wrong best western so I went inside to ask the front desk agent directions. I used to work for best western and I know what sort of service is expected. The agent seemed irritated that I interrupted her and when I asked how to get to the best western I needed her response was... "You literally look it up in Google and open it in your map" I said yes I did that and I am not finding the correct place she then tells me "it's in Eugene on Franklin." I don't live here so I just simply needed a route to the high way and an exit or something more to go the correct direction. I ended up walking out extremely irritated and I will never return to this property or recommend it. The new Oregon best western was nice and friendly when I arrived .
Terrible time finding a safe way to exit hotel. The traffic was awful. There needs to be a traffic light installed on the main street. However the hotel was very nice and the staff were all very good and accommodating. No indoor pool was disappointing for the little kiddos. Breakfast was ok, and the children were happy with it. The area was not great. Seemed to be a few people who did a lot of wondering around and begging for money at the convenience store next door to the hotel, so we were concerned about our car, but no problems. I would stay again.
Take it from an old guy that does quite a bit of biz travel- Clean, quiet hotel w/ a friendly & helpful staff. Lots of dining choices w/in walking distance nearby plus a Cabelas to browse 'bout a mile due south of the hotel. Make your reservations early 'cause room prices may fluctuate due to demand.
I've stayed here at least a half dozen times. I like Best Western and this property is at least as good as their typical "Plus" category properties. The rooms I've stayed in here have all been large very comfortable "mini-suites" with large living areas. I've never had any noise issues or any other problems. It's very clean, very quiet and well maintained. Hop Valley Brewing is directly across the street and THEIR FOOD AND BEER ARE BOTH FANTASTIC! There is also a very wide variety of other restaurants very near.
We always stay at this Best Western when traveling through the area. It is the nicest Best Western we've ever stayed at and we almost always stay at the BW's. The rooms are huge for a hotel room, quiet, comfortable with the most comfortable bed and pillows. Staff is great. Breakfast is normal hotel breakfasts.
This hotel is in a great location with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Easy on/off freeway access and the hotel staff is the friendliest staff I've ever dealt with at a hotel, They do a great job of making your stay pleasurable.. Highly recommend.
This hotel has been redone and it is a beautiful place! Rooms are large and roomy and have everything you might need. If it's not in the room, ask and they will get it for you! It's a college town, but the people who are working for this hotel are really really great! They are friendly, nice and will do what they can to make your stay a nice one! The GM even gets into this hotel, helping with the remodel !! I would stay here again and again!
This was a lovely respite after driving for 8 hours in the rain from Sacramento. The spacious rooms was inviting and loved the television that could be viewed in bed or from the couch. My husband and I both loved everything about this hotel.
The room was bigger than my apartment. The king bed was as soft as a pillow and everything made you feel like moving in.. I am sure you can look all over town and not find a better room. They have a great breakfast, sausage, eggs, waffles, you leave happy and full, ready for the day.
I was very impressed with this Best western. For the money they were high end. All the employees were cheerful and eager to help. made you feel welcome. Very clean and well maintained. I will go back. plenty of restaurants near by.
I guess they ran out of regular rooms and gave my wife and daughter a handicap room instead. I often wonder when that happens where do handicap guests stay? That would be quite the issue if they have a reservation and no room. Any way the hotel was pretty fancy on the outside and average in the rooms. You know average size and furnishings, average cleanliness, average bathroom and beds. You get the idea. Even the staff and breakfast were average. At least the TV was bigger than their last hotel. Is that just for the handicap rooms? I have been to a lot of Best Westerns and have only stayed at one or two that have been above average. When are they going to call these hotels "Average Western"?
King room was large, clean, modern and comfortable. Stayed 10 nights for work and it was livable for that length with fitness center, guest laundry, decent hot breakfast, fridge and mico in room. Location is great, close to restaurants and main roads.
Booked/pd as "Pet Friendly". Arrived at 10PM, 46degrees, raining w/ my son & my cat. Told us cats were NOT welcome & told to leave. The mgr was acting by regs. They took dogs. we were told to get out.
For a chain hotel, I was very impressed! The room was huge! They offer an excellent breakfast, with lots of options and the staff is very accommodating. Lots of restaurant choices within walking distance. This is my new home away from home!
Dependable Best Western - big clean rooms, hot breakfast, located right beside a brew pub with great food. A bit too pricey ($100) and too far from the freeway, but an excellent option - you'll like it once you choke down the $100 price tag.
In the thick of it. Walking distance to many good restaurants, shopping, and easy access to the U of O. I stay there often, and have had good experiences. Nice outdoor pool and exercise room. Very helpful staff, always clean and quiet.
I travel with my 2 small dogs and this motel has always been very nice about giving me a first floor room close to an outside door. This makes it very easy to take the dogs out. Also their hot breakfast is very good with several choice items -
We drove from Seattle to San Diego to pickup my brother's two dogs for he was not able to take care of them. I was planning on staying in Medford but due to traffic delays and it was raining hard, we've decided to stop in Springfield for the night so while I was driving my wife googled for a place to stay. We got the AAA rate of $82 per night and they have free wifi and breakfast. Each room has a mini refrigerator and a microwave. In the lobby there's hot coffee, tea, coco, and water. The king size bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. We like it so much that we decided on the way back with the dogs, we'll stay here. The pet charge is $10 per night per dog. If the dog barks, we would get a warning and if it happens again the dogs will need to be removed. Luckily my dogs didn't bark at all. My wife made louder noises than my dogs. For breakfast they had mini banana and blue berry muffins, yogurt, english muffins, toast, bagle, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit and gravy, instant oatmeal, and fresh do it youself waffle maker. Drinks they have orange and apple juice, coffee, coco, and tea. They had apple, orange and banana for fresh fruits. Too bad they didn't have bacon for I was really craving for bacon. Denny is right next door and Outback restaurant is just behind the building. There's Shari's and Panda Express nearby within walking distance. Chevron gas station is right next to Denny's so everything is located nearby. So here are some of the negatives: No hot tub. Pool was closed. To get to the fitness room and the sauna, you have to exit the hotel and reenter through another door. But that sauna door didn't work with my room key so I gave up.
The room was very large with a king size bed, full size sofa, over-stuffed chair, computer table, dresser, microwave and coffee pot. The bed was very comfortable and the hot breakfast was very satisfying.
It is a nice looking hotel, get a balcony room if you can. Close to many good restaurants. Easy access to everywhere around Eugene, right off the "Beltline" highway and I5. Larger than you new standard room with couch, small bar area and nice desk.
Staff was extremely friendly upon arrival even though it was a later evening check in. Beds were comfy, and the room had enough to space to not make you fee cramped! The room came with small fridge, coffee maker, microwave, desk, and good sized shower. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area!
Stayed 1 night because it's close to Riverbend Hospital. Got the wakeup call at 4:30a.m. hubby had surgery check-in at 5:30a.m. We always try to stay with Best Western never had a bad experience yet. It was quiet, very clean.
great clean hotel with comfterable beds don't usally do breakfast @ the hotel but I did this stay was pretty good for contantal breakfast rooms were clean & nice I stayed @ new Oregon BW was good but I will stay here every time now
We were in Eugene for a medical appointment and needed a hotel room as we were from out of town. This Best Western gave us all we needed as far as comfort & service. There are plenty of nice restaurants close to the hotel. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again.
The hotel was clean and comfortable but it is really the welcoming and friendly staff that make this place a pleasure to stay. A couple came into the breakfast room just as staff was closing up for the day and not only did they still bring them breakfast they asked the couple if they would like waffles after the machine was cleaned and everything put away. Just really accommodating and friendly staff
I stay here often. The hotel room is clean and the staff is very accommodating. I like getting breakfast included with the room. It makes it more like a bed and breakfast. The location is very convenient.
We enjoyed the size of this room with the addition of a couch and small table, which was great for eating out take out. It also allowed more room for our daughter to play. Plus there was a desk. The room wasn't set up for us when we arrived and the front desk, although friendly forgot several times to come and set up the roll away, although they did eventually and they removed an extra charge for the delay. The bathroom could use some updates as it looks much worse off than the rest of the room. The wi-fi worked great. The heater worked, maybe too well, as it was overly warm, but better than no heat. Breakfast was OK, but am always looking for gluten-free/dairy-free options and there were not many. Loved the fresh pineapple though. We had a patio, but it was chilly and not much of a view, but still nice. Overall, for the price, worth a stay if in the area. Many nearby restaurants and shopping/activities.
We were visiting for Pop Warner football championships. We were not sure how to get to the stadium and the "Boss" offered to have us follow him to get to our destination! Also another customer was offered by one of the staff to research places to eat for the following day. Our room was very spacious and clean. We were greeted by staff whenever we went through the lobby. I would definitely stay again.
The guest room was spacious. It had a comfortable King bed, a full couch, an easy chair, a desk, microwave and refrigerator. there was plenty of room. It was very clean. I liked that the coffee pot was not on the counter where you comb hair, shave or brush your teeth.
Clean large room with comfortable bed and plenty of connections to recharge phone etc..Easy access from freeway. Walking distance from multiple restaurants. Breakfast need improvement. Pleasant check in/ check out. A good place for a stop over for Canadians on their way down to California.
My stay was most regrettable, the service I received by front desk was atrocious, the rest of the staff was excellent! charge me twice for a roll away bed that should have been complimentary in the first place. I'm waiting for a refund for that. Overall stay was good but front desk lady was rude and had tattoos showing which I didn't think was appropriate
A nice place to stay in the Eugene area. Very accessible from I-5 and close to restaurants and shopping and recreation. This Best Western has a nice breakfast with many options and a very comfortable feel to it. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortabl.e.
We've stayed here twice. Both times were great and comfortable. Good breakfast in the am. Friendly staff. Good location right off I-5. Tons of restaurants and bars close by. Great place to stay. Oh ya and the rooms are exceptionally large. Plenty of room for people!!
We had a wonderful weekend in Eugene, and our stay at the Best Western was excellent. We'd stay there again and recommend it to anyone. The breakfast is very good, lots of items to choose from. Great coffee.
This is the only place we will stay when we are in town for all the home Duck football games. The staff is awesome, dealing with lots of check ins at once, due to game day crowds. The rooms are mostly remodeled ( work in progress) and very comfortable. The breakfast is as one should expect for a motel buffet. The location is convenient to I-5, highly recommend this motel.
Visiting Eugene recently at a time when the Ducks and Beavers were both playing at home, I snagged some of the last rooms in town at the Best Western Grand Manor Inn. I was greatly surprised at how great a place this is. The rooms are clean, large, many have balconies and best of all - surprisingly quiet. The staff was very friendly and kind. Next morning we had a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles, and coffee. The breakfast room could have been bigger but that's very minor. Would highly recommend this hotel.
the room was spacious and clean. the only problem was there were not any towel bars by the sink or in the bathroom to hang used towels or facecloths. no local phone books were available in the room or at the front desk.
This is not the first time I've stayed at this facility as it is very convenient to I 5 in the Eugene area. It seems to be a very popular hotel as I was very lucky to get a room without a reservation. Both times I've stayed here, checking in was quick and easy, the facility is clean and comfortable even if it is a bit dated. The hot breakfast has always been plentiful and tasty; no complaints here.
The staff were wonderful especially at the front desk! It's by the mall for some good shopping. their are restaurants within walling distance. There is nightlife across the street from the hotel.Over all a good place to stay if you like all these things.
The rooms were clean, the staff friendly. It is conveniently located near numerous restaurants and shopping areas. Would have liked a hot tub, but the pool was nice and well-maintained. The breakfast was your typical continental+, but we arrived about 15 minutes before closing and most of the food was gone or cold.
Room was a little more pricey this time but everything was very nice, clean & comfortable . . . very accommodating for anyone traveling with dogs. Hotel serves a very loaded continental breakfast, fresh coffee all day and close to all the attractions in the Eugene/Springfield areas - 1 hour from the Oregon Coast
