This property (and the room that I stayed in) was clean, beautiful, and well maintained. Mine was "right sized"; enough room to walk around in. Within it was a very comfortable king size bed, couch, office type desk with chair, a long table (huge HDTV sat on the right end), mini-fridge, microwave, and a small coffee maker with all of the necessary supplies. The sink/lavatory was in a separate area with soap, shampoo, conditioner, handtowels, and washcloths. And there was a closet on the opposite side. The commode/tub/shower was in a separate room with towels and another bar of soap. And it was on the 2nd floor with a balcony that overlooked the courtyard. All rooms have to be entered in from the outside. Thankfully there was a side door that was near mine. Also the Wi-Fi reception was excellent. I had no problems connecting to the Internet. With this hotel be aware of the following. At check-in there was an additional (temporary) $50 charge. It was removed a few days after I left. Also there are street people (and cats) in the vicinity. A minor flaw was with the shower/bathtub. First I had to use a washcloth to turn the water pressure/temperature handle when my hands were wet and soapy. Otherwise it was very difficult to turn. Next there were 3 pump bottles with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Only the conditioner dispensed anything. So I had to use the provided bathing supplies. And you'll want to bring a shower mat if you are prone to slipping. Also the hot water needs to run for about a minute before it reaches the desired temperature; even longer with the sink facet. The major flaw during my stay was that there was no breakfast (notes about this were posted throughout the lobby). I assume it was because of the recent hurricane. So each day I had to venture out into a chaotic environment (traffic lights not working, closed stores & restaurants, etc). If I had been notified about this beforehand then I could have brought plenty of food to sustain me. Because I was not, I think a lower overall rating is justified for this hotel.
The bed was so hard as to make sleeping virtually impossible. The pillows were fine, but the bed was awful. Some of the outlets were not working, and it was very difficult to navigate the television menu, of which no hard copy was provided so that it could be accessed only onscreen.
I enjoyed my stay, I have stayed at several other times, I have never had a problem with the hotel, I wish they had a balcony for every room, I will make sure that I will ask for that on my next stay, Everyone was nice and saying hello and Good Morning. I will stay there again soon
I travel for work, I needed a good place to rest good after work, this hotel is nice, clean and quiet, breakfast is better than a regular breakfast in best western hotels. definitely i will go back. The laundry machine wasnt working but there are laundry services close to the hotel.
Staying at the best Western made the circumstances I was traveling for manageable. On the positive the café was fantastic. I was able to get some work done there for a couple of hours in the morning. It was well set up and convenient to have the breakfast available as well as the coffee. The employees were attentive and considerate. Their interactions seemed very genuine, and I felt welcome. The pool was a nice surprise for a nice evening dip to swim the busy day away. My only disappointment was the laundry room was under maintenance and had I known that sooner I would've planned accordingly. On the positive there was a laundromat close by.
Without notice me and my 6 children ended up in a hotel for several nights. At the best western in spartanburg on asheville highway . I cannot thank the staff enough for their excellent customer service. They were extremely polite to my children, understanding and the Day manager even took it upon herself to mind my children a few time which is something we just don't get anymore these days. During probably the roughest times in our lives. I couldn't be more grateful for your hospitality and your genuine kindness. The night attendant was super welcoming understanding and friendly as I tried to check in in a messy hurry. Breakfast was our most trying time and i'd like to give a special. Thank you so the ladies in the kitchen for keeping up with my three hungry boys and three hungry girls.
Rooms are very small. All the money went into the lobby (which looks very nice!) but the rooms are small and dated. I saw 2 ants in the bathroom. My main complain is you get a room with a couch, but it was a TINY room! Literally, you walk in , and turn around, and that's all the room you had.
I don't usually stay at Best Western, but I'm glad I stayed at this one. I travel for work every week stay in hotels all year long. This Best Western went over and beyond with the staff there they were very polite and helpful. The hotel was one of the cleanest I've stayed in. I had the best sleep, their beds and pillows were so comfortable. I have nothing but great things to say about this Best Western and I have something to look forward to the next time I work in this area. Thank you Spartanburg Northwest Best Western
We enjoyed our stay, room was very clean, beds were comfy, perfect pillows for us. Quiet at night. No rowdy guest, which is always plus! Stayed a week and would definitely stay ag9
The hotel was a little expensive because Memorial Day but was a great value for the price, you get what you pay for. The location was not my favorite because traffic but there are several fast food restaurants within a short distance and the food the hotel served was very good. The hotel itself was very clean and well kept and the staff was very attentive and organized. The food station was constantly kept stocked and it was never difficult to find someone if you needed help. The bed was clean, very comfortable and the room was welcoming and nice to stay in. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay at that Best Western again.
Bad value, terrible location, bad morning service, dirty coffee maker, no tv guide, slow elevators, sirens all night, deposit not mentioned until check in so bring extra cash
Unfortunately, we were there for a funeral and they could not have treated us any better. From the managers to the housekeeping staff to the front desk people they went out of their way to be kind and get us anything that we could possibly need. The food was very good for breakfast. The beds were comfortable and everybody treated us like family.
We were very happy with our stay. The staff, amenities and rooms were spotless and very well maintained. It looks as if it was also recently renovated which also looked great. Never had a hotel bathroom to be so clean.
Was here on business and booked after having a bad experience at a nearby hotel. This hotel was the closest feeling to being at home and best hotel in town. From the price to the amenities everything was amazing for a amazing price. The fitness room to breakfast everything was amazing. The staff is very kind and helpful. I love how the fitness room was clean and had everything that I needed. The beds are very nice and comfortable!
The most clean and quiet rooms. The customer service is top tier. Anytime that I had a question or needed help they didn't hesitate to assist. The variety of options at the hot breakfast bar was the best I'd ever seen. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!
We stayed for a dance competition. I can not say enough good things about our stay. The staff is excellent and adressed any and everything we ased for or needed. They really attend to their guest. And everything is done in a timely manner. Way to go Best Western!!! The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable The lobby was clean. The hotel was quiet.
I can not express how much I love this hotel. Not only was the rooms very nice, clean and peaceful but the staff and all amenities were beyond exceptional as well. I felt very safe and the staff showed so much love.
Great location, quiet, spacious room, delicious hot breakfast and friendly staff. Located just off 85 business, easy access to downtown and to sports stadium for tournaments. Nice fitness room. Overall facility looked clean and newly renovated.
We don't smoke anything. When we left they charged us 2 times of $150 each. When we called they said we smoke din the room. We explained that's impossible we don't smoke. Desk clerk said well I don't know what to tell you. When asked for a manager none was there and she couldn't tell us when one would be there. We have called 3 times and are told no manager is there and they can't tell us when one will be there. I'll be disputing these charges.
Debra, Danielle and Kathy were the most helpful and nice staff ever. Anything needed they were able to help with! Very smooth check ins and outs! The hotel is very safe and the atmosphere is very inviting. Any staff member was willing to help!
I drove up to Spartanburg to work on an overnight commercial. After an 8 hour drive I stopped to rest at a rest area just south of Spartanburg. After a 4 hour snooze, I took off and headed into the city to find my hotel. When I found my hotel, I was shocked…it looked nothing like the pictures, nobody was present to assist me and I was told I wouldn't be allowed into my room ( on the phone ) until after 3:00 pm. I had a 4:30 call time for a 12 hour Commercial shoot 30 minutes away. This wouldn't work !! I canceled my room and left the motel. Luckily the Best Western was right next door. I parked and went inside to the opposite scenario. A beautiful lobby, free breakfast still being served and two of the nicest ladies at the front desk. I asked about the room rate and was pleased to find out it was reasonable. I asked about an early check-in and discovered it was also reasonable. I went to my room, set things up and grabbed the breakfast and returned to my wonderful room for a nap, with a wake-up call at 2:30 pm. I slept like a baby and showered and was on set early. We wrapped up filming at 4:00 am, and I returned to my room and fell asleep quickly. I woke up at 9:00 am and grabbed another awesome breakfast, returned to my room to shower and load up for the trip home. Thank you Best Western for saving my trip. Thank you also to Debra and her partner for helping change the whole situation to such a wonderful trip. This was definitely an Oasis in a Desert of uncertainty !!!
Originally had only one issue and that was a noisy air conditioner unit. But staying only one night just mentioned it at checkout. Upon checking our charge to see if the $50 hold dropped off yet, found that an additional charge for $25 was pending. Called the hotel and the women said "oh I know what that is" but when asked to explain she spoke in circles with no definite answer. I asked to speak to the manager and he had not come in yet but would call. Next day, no call, it changed from pending to an actual charge. We had prepaid the stay so there should have been no additional charge. Called Hotels.com and made them aware of the issue. Called the hotel back and she said the manager was still not in he would get back to me in an hour, "I promise." The time turned into 4 hours so far with no call back. I have disputed it with my credit card company as of now. Please check your charges I am not sure how many people have been in this position but I will not stay here or any Best Western again.
The people that worked there were very nice but the rooms showed a lot of wear, with cracks in the ceiling. Everything seemed very dated. The bathroom was not as clean as it could have been. Location overall not good we wish we had stayed over by the mall where there are shops and restaurants along the main road in addition to the mall.
It is unfortunate we stayed here. The police had to place extra patrols to keep the homeless out of the hotel/courtyard who tried to follow guests in. One of our 13 year olds was solicited for cigarettes in the hall by a guest and another very drunken guest literally tried to fight one of the moms in our group in the courtyard. I have never been told I was not allowed fresh towels. My husband called front desk for towels and was told for almost 48 hours that there wasn't a fresh towel to be had in the whole hotel. I went down and the front desk lady literally told me I wasn't going to get fresh towels because of covid. She told me new towels were only given out to rooms for new guests coming in upon check out. I had to sit and wait in the front lobby for 45 minutes to speak to the GM about receiving 2 towels. I have never been treated so rudely. I was told to stand back because I was being erratic due to my tone and persistence just for 2 towels :( There was no room service for 7 days. We were not told of any of these policies upfront. We had to place our trash outside of the door and did finally get 2 new towels to last the remainder of the 5 days. Many of our parents washed their own bed linens. There are many other choices in the surrounding area. I would research staying at one of them. Positive: GM was very accommodating along several other front desk people. The gentleman housekeeper was always super kind and friendly.
I travel a ton for business. We stayed here for overnight after attending a wedding in the area. Worst Courtyard I have ever stayed in. This hotel is dated and the site photos are close to false advertising. Carpets are very worn in the halls and room. One of the dispensers in the shower was vacant, except for the mold and mildew in the empty slot. There appears to be spot of blood in the shower and hair on the floor in the bathroom. The metal frame in the bathroom also had mold and mildew in each corner. Lastly, there were no linens in the room for pull out sofa. There are other Marriotts in the area. I do not recommend this one.
If you're looking for a 4 star resort, you will be dissappointed. If you go in expecting a 3 star hotel you will amazingly surprised. Extremely clean. Bistro was closed because of COVID so they offered free Starbucks coffee and some pastries. For less than $100 for the night I couldn't be happier.
The service was exceptional, friendly staff, friendly house keeping. The hotel was clean and neat. Only downside, no microwave in rooms. There are some by the ice machines but still. Would I not stay there because of this, absolutely not. The staff pleasantries well made up for this lack of convenience.
