The room we got, sure need a makeover. We like the hotel situated at font Seaside, but it old and need to be renovated. The restaurant is cloesed sunday and monday. The bar is open but they have only a small bar-menue, very boring though. We went to another restaurant. I do not think we will return. All staff is very nice and helpful.
Wonderful hotel with a good restaurant and bar. Plus a fantastic sauna. Most of all, incredibly friendly and good atmosphere. I highly recommend this hotel and all its staff. We enjoyed a few beers, and dinner. The rooms are well set up, with comfortable beds and excellent showers (hot with high pressure!)
We enjoyed the bar which unlike most alternatives this evening had attracted a few people. Two young ladies ran the bar with good focus, humour and smiles. An elegant Cranberry juice and a Cappuccino was our order, but now I k now they have a bar there that can be counted on, on anotherwise dull evening - the weather was really challenging and more like what is typical in October than July 1. Thank you fo displaying good spirits, Ladies! Nice guard holding his position there too! P.s all age groups present... Good Tv set - film with Meryl Streep was on
It is easy to get there from Copenhagen, Øresundstoget and change to Pågatoget at Trianglen. A short walk down towards the harbour. It is like stepping 40-50 years back in time when you enter the hotel, everything neat and cosy, the staff helpful and polite. And quiet, no noise between the rooms or the floors. The town is small and neat.
The worst hotel I have stayed at and the worst service ever! The rooms are horrible, the staff is not customer oriented at all. We stayed there two nights on the occasion of our friends getting married in the area. During those two nights, hotel staff has forced us to change the room and wait and get dressed for the wedding in the lobby of the hotel because we had to check out from one room before 11am and wait for the check in to the next room until 15:00. Horrible experience!
The location, just across the sea, makes this hotel a very nice choice for anyone visiting Simrishamn. This is a small town, so, everything is relatively close. There are plenty of restaurants in the area. Our room was simple, clean, a standard Best Western room. The bathroom was just OK, functional, it can use an update. Besides the location, the other feature that is highly recommended is the breakfast buffet. A lot of choice in a nice dinning room, with a view of the ocean.
Just by the sea, with an awesome view this hotel offers an experience - well worth a stay. Conveniently located close to restaurants and city center in Simrishamn, this offers a good spot for a get-away or short vacation - beach and restaurants within 200 m. Rooms are quiet, and the family room had a proper bunk bed for the kids. Hotel has a lot of art. Breakfast is plentiful. There is also a beautiful garden restaurant in the backyard that offers dinner and drinks in the evening.
Nice, clean and good service. Room was small. Dinner served tasted good and with perfect service. The hotell itself is nice situated at the waterfront at the Simirishamn's harbor. Breakfast buffé acceptable
a breakfast buffet where nothing is missing, fantastic staff all with a smile on their face. Lovely nature just around the corner, gallerys, coffee shops and pubs. Stayed for two nights, look forward to be back soon!
Very good location by the sea! Simple but nice hotel and rooms. Very good service with always helpful and serviceminded staff. Dinner was good as well as the breakfast. We didn't use the relax space but nice option to have. Great that you can start walking trails just outside the hotel.
Wonderful stay with freiendly serviceminded straff. A light and nice room with comfortable bed. The restaurant is beautiful situated with a nice seaview. The food is excellent. We will certainly visit the hotel soon again.
Very nice place to stay at, close to the little harbour. Lovely breakfast buffé with loads of diffrent dishes. Nice and quiet little room for us. Friendly check-in and check-out desk, easy to get information if what we needed.
We had a budget room, a room which is designed for conferences. The room was pretty large and bright and beds were fine, but felt kind of bare. Perhaps a carpet could cure that feeling... Toilet outside the room, bathroom in the main building - in the basement. We could have upgraded us to a standard room in the main building - but that would have cost us twice as much. Great breakfast, with a fabulous view.
Great service and genuin straff. Clean and nice summer rooms. Ni toilets in the room, but the lie price compensate. A nice bar where you can sit outside in the garden or indoor. Great breakfast. Overall a very Nice hotel
We stayed overnight in the Prins Eugen suite. We really wanted the sea view with terrace and that didn't disappoint. We even used the hot tub with a glass of bubbly overlooking the sea. Roomy was a nice size, very comfortable bed and oversized chairs to lounge around in and watch tv if you wish. We spent as much time as possible on the terrace enjoying that incredible view. Breakfast was included, you could have a breakfast box to enjoy in your room or book a time for the buffet to allow for proper social distancing. We booked the buffet and it was very nice Staff at reception and restaurant were lovely Only reason I am giving a 4 rating instead of a 5 is the bathroom in the room. It was extremely run down, even cracked tiles near the floor, and grouting was dingy, no amount of cleaning will bring it back to form. As the suite was expensive, that was a disappointment but overall we were delighted with our stay There was a nice outdoor garden with bbq that looked really inviting but we didn't have time to use it
Fantastic sea view from our window. The breakfast vas god and fresh. Unfortunately was our bed not comfortable and the room was small. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is available right next to
Great stay but burglar alarm sounded twice around 11pm one evening with no staff present which caused confusion what to do among guests. Only one 3-course menue (no a la carte) in restaurant but it was very good though.
We arrived in a rainy day. No parking spaces available within the walking distance. "We promised car park not car park close by.", said the receptionist. The next question she asked was: "Do you want your breakfast tomorrow in a bag" and then she explained: " We have many guests. There maybe not room enough for everybody to eat breakfast. The rooms are small, clean but nothing special at all. The prices are however twice as high as all other places we have stayed at, during this trip, including Grand Hotels and one Chateau or two. I do not see anything that motivates this price. And then it's time for the dinner. The restaurant has not a good rating according to TA but we are tired and hungry, so we go for it. There is however a smell of bad oil and old food meeting us at the entrance of the restaurant. No matter how tired and hungry and no matter it's raining. We go and dine at "A gaffel kort."
Hotel situated next to the harbour of Simrishamn.Very friendly and helpful stuff. Charming rooms. Restaurant with an excellent three cource dinner. WOW. Easy walking city with many attractions nearby. Just ask the stuff.
Hotel with good location, but small rooms. Nice little town with beautiful old houses and close to everything one wants to see in Skåne/Österlen. Good bacon and egg at breakfast. Nice and helpful staff. Free parking nearby.
Staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately we payed and bookeda double room but got a single one with only one towel, one quilt etc. We were unfortunately too tired to try and do something about it.
We have stayed here before but we had hoped it would have been updated since then. Sadly not. The room had various problems which we reported to reception - but nothing was done. Breakfast was OK but nothing out of the ordinary. Car parking is very limited, and we could not find any spaces for Blue Badge holders. But we managed to park in a small road behind the hotel. The one real thing this hotel has got going for it are the views. Also being very near to the main street there are plenty of nice bars and restaurants to visit. Because of the location we will probably be back......!
It'a down to earth hotel with a peacefully stunning view over the marina and the Nordic sea. The service offered by Anna at the reception is just impeccable and very caring. Thank you very much for letting me feel at home.
Clean room and comfortable beds. God breakfast. Perfekt location. God service at the reception. God parking opportunities. Nice view over the ocean. Only negativ was that our room was a little to small. Restaurang served very god food.
Exceptionally friendly staff greeted me, I offered to pay my skype time, they would not have it, offered me a seat by the window where I could take in the small boats' and yachting harbour, offering a set lunch menu at normal rates and the a la carte having all that should be there when coming as a tourist, enjoyed free parking - up to days, nearby, around the corner from...all easily accessible within walking distance is with the view what makes this when I return each summer - this time without ordering food..
My Mother turned 90 and my siblings and I had decided to stay overnight and have dinner at Hotel Svea to celebrate. We let them know well in advance that it was a special evening so they went all out and put a Swedish flag on the table for us. The food was acceptable although uneven in quality. The rooms are all newly renovated and very nice with ocean views and/or balconies. The only negative thing with the rooms were that when the kitchen got really hot, the staff opened the back door into the back lobby, thus allowing a sampling of the entire menu permeate the upstairs hallways. A new ventilation system should be high on the priority list.
A nice hotel in a small swedish city att Österlen. Although our visit was a bit off-season everything was good. The room was small but OK with a view over the small harbour. The restaurant served a good dinner and the breakfast didn't miss anything. Overall - it was a good stay.
What a hotel and what a service in a place not on the "hot-spot" for the main stream travellers - but that is WHY you MUST go here. This small south-swedish town is a joy to visit. And if you drop off other tourist-traps the place to stay is with the good people of Hotel Svea. The rooms is not five stars but this one place I couldn't care less because of the nice people (which IS five stars people!!!!) at Hotel Svea. I booked through at booking site on a fixed price but got the date wrong with no refund - but the nice people of Hotel Svea fixed with no discussion...woahh! The hotel has a really nice back yard with full bar service and the breakfast was much better than many other hotels! This is one of my best stay at a hotel - ever!
Booked a table for a party of three to see football, arrived paid and for the food and drinks,so far so good. Ordered hamburgers all round after a short wait arrived meal, to say what we ordered was a disappointment cold dry burger no dressing to speak of,fries cold totally the whole meal a disappointment being honest this was the worst burger I've ever tasted. Shame as the hotel restaurant has got such good reviews.
Very well received and guided by the reception, friendly and helpfull people all we meet. Place is well located in Simrishamn with a beautiful view of the sea/marina. Hotels was nice and clean all over and the beds amongst the better encountered. Breakfast was nice and just above average. Closes at 09:00 and not much to do if you want a beer or drink after that - keep in mind.
The Svea is a famous hotel, legendary even, for well read Swedes, and has reached almost cult status in older literature from Southern Sweden. That kind of thing is usually not a good thing for the guests; legend tends to turn into expensive tourist traps (such as the Raffles or the Negresco). Not so the Svea. It surely could do with a thorough refurbishing; the finish has a dated feeling to it with plastic carpet in the bathrooms and structural wallpaper á lá 1987. There is absolutey nowhere to put down your things in the bathroom, either. The interior decorator (from 1987) obviously never heard of shelves. Having said that, this places still earns a 4-star review. It has pride of place in pretty, cobbled Simrishamn, with a lovely harbour view, it has free parking, an OK breakfast restaurant, outdoor seating and a good restaurant. Above all: Svea has the kindest, sweetest, most welcoming staff we have ever met! All of them were just fabulous. And not in a fawning way - they all seem genuinley nice. Extra points for being dog-friendly.
We only stayed here one night and we did not have an ocean view which might have brought the grade up to four stars, but we had a very nice stay! The rooms are clean and cosy, but the bathroom could definitely be updated! Some tiles on the floor and a new shower head would do wonders. The staff is super friendly though, and the breakfast buffé was great (especially with that ocean view!). Good location too.
I was there last summer and am going back this to work on my emails. As it turned and as I am not frequenlty back in my old country, you can't help but notice the great smell of food when dishes are brought in from the kitchen, or found in the open buffet and seeing all the people coming ot lunch, coffee or after a day on vacation at nearby beaches - and they maintain order. I go for a traditional Swedish meal of pork filet in Bearnaise sauce, oregano covered fried tomato or a Loevbiff - a thin, fried beef filet with fried potatoes and a beer. Coffee added as a Cappuccino rounds it up. Now I am coming back for seconds!! And a good work out with my wireless internet needs taking in the harbour view...I can't but feel lucky!
If you want a calm, relaxing weekend, spend some time here! Ver nice staff in reception, very good breakfast and please book a facial treatment. It,s so Worth the Money! The vue from the room is so Beautiful, overlooking the ´sea and marina .
The hotel was built in the middle of the 18 century and is located at the harbour. The view is very nice but some rooms have a view to a backyard. The breakfast is ordinary. The hotel is about 800 m from the city centre and the railway station. Wifi free
