Only stayed for one night to sleep for a while but it was amazing service and staff . very clean room with comfortable beds. The breakfast was excellent and had a wide variety . Wish I could have taken pictures to show you. Overall a wonderful stay
As soon as you walk in the room(s), you get hit with an unbearable stench of cigarette smoke. The bedsheets had stains and LOTS of hair, our toilet had a USED TAMPON inside it, toilet seat was left up, and we had to call the front desk to clean it. Note: DO NOT use a black light inside room 224. You WILL regret it.
If you're looking for a clean place to stay then keep driving. Sheets were stained and dirty like they haven't been changed. Called front desk and the nice lady brought us new sheets. There was no housekeeping onsite so we had to change the sheets ourselves. The carpet is Disgusting. My kids had black feet after walking around in the room barefoot. We had no other options because there was a festival in town and all other hotels were booked. We stayed 1 night 9/21/24
The room was Quiet and spacious room. Shower head was powerful, almost felt like a message shower head. Bed was comfortable and I slept amazing. Staff was kind and helpful. Ill stay again, if I head back over there for work. Dennys across the street
First of all I want to say Doug and Carol are very genuine people. They were very helpful during our vacation. The hotel was very good. The breakfast could be better. We throughly enjoyed our vacation. I would recommend this hotel. It close by to restaurants and attractions.
Very nice hotel, great breakfast they even had Twinkies and hostess Cupcakes. Rooms were comfortable, nice and cool, convenient parking. Offers discount at Dennys across the way. I would recommend this Lodging and with the use of points makes this a great place to stay.
Mold, water damage, and odors. Safety and security in question as secure doors were kept propped open. Breakfast was a joke. No qualify proteins, selection limited, and Twinkies/Hostess cupcakes were the only danish. Bread was just a loaf of white. Don't expect to stay at one of these again.
It is and older hotel, rooms are nice enough. Not pleased with the staff. I had to wait at the counter to check in for 3 minutes as I watch the employe on their phone. I actually had to clear my throat to get her attention. I am a Best Western Rewards member, but I was treated as just a regular Joe. The best thing about this place is there is a whole lot of options for food close to the hotel. Morning came and the coffee pot had lukewarm coffee. I poured it out. YUK
In one word I would describe my stay at the Best Western in Shepherdsville Kentucky as SPECTACULAR!!! Clean and comfortable room, warm inviting and professional staff. I'm talking about you Carol and Doug you are second to none. Cleaning staff was friendly and accommodating for anything my wife and I needed for our 7-Day stay there. Breakfast was hot, delicious and plentiful. Pool was nice size, clean, crystal clear water. Anyone traveling to the Louisville Kentucky area I highly recommend staying at the Best Western in Shepherdsville, centrally located to gas and food.
We stayed here for first time for a night. No problems. But it's an average hotel. Room was clean. Beds comfortable but small pillows. Location good with food nearby. We didn't do breakfast. But neither husband and I were comfortable there and slept poorly. Went out at 2:00am to check car as we were parked back of hotel and were concerned as nothing back there. Front desk was accommodating to give us 1st floor for mobility issues. Thought it was overpriced in comparison to other BW we've stayed at. If we stayed again we'd like to be closer to lobby for more secure parking and breakfast area. It was too long of a walk from where we were.
but, if you are a senior citizen and get the king bed with handicap assist bathroom, have any back / hip / knee / mobility issues the 100 yd walk to the breakfast room is torturous
The fire alarm went off multiple times and the owner refused to call the fire department to come and check the building. The guests were not evacuated or told what was going on. Guests had to call fire department after the 3rd time it went off. We were not cleared by the fire department to go back to or rooms until 11:45 pm.
Close to Brown Cancer Center Nice comfortable room and best breakfast. Great value for price. Will be staying here again
A friend of mine and I stayed at the Best Western Shepherdsville, Kentucky, from 04/30/2024 until 5/6/2024 and had an absolutely wonderful stay! Carol, Kelly, and Bea were so helpful in helping two ladies from Minnesota enjoy our stay during Derby week, even giving us band-aids for our blistered feet and moving chairs outside for us to enjoy our cocktails and cigarettes under the weeping willow tree. The kitchen staff made excellent and variable breakfasts each morning and our room was sparkling clean after maid service. If we return to Louisville again, we'll definitely book our stay there and will absolutely recommend BW Shepherdsville to our friends!
On our way to Alabama this was the half way point. We wanted a clean place to stay that allowed our small dog to stay with us. Everyone working there was pleasant and helpful. We plan to stay there again on our way home
Has a fast check in, really nice Manager , Has truck parking before the sun goes down 20 or so , Food across the street . Beer in walking distance ! So nice , so easy ,, Will be back for sure ! Thanks
Excellent breakfast and overall service . Everyone I dealt with was helpful and communicative. The parking lot was large enough so you didn't have to drive around searching for a parking spot. The outside of the building was well lit and all secondary doors had card readers that worked.
I have stayed here quite a few times and have had a pleasant experience until I met Brad. Brad was so unprofessional and rude. I have no idea why he is employed. I will never stay at this hotel again. I pulled in the parking lot for 15 mins and was approached by this man. I ended my phone call and was asked if he could help me. I begin to tell Brad I was on the phone and getting ready to get a room. He says if I wasn't gone in 5 mins he was going to call the cops. I told him to call them if i had done something wrong. Brad backs up to the door of the building calling a curse words and locks the doors. I was in disbelief. I waited for the cops to get there and they told me that he runs them off sometimes and it was no surprise because he calls them frequently. I am utterly shocked and confused why this man has an attitude of that extent and I cannot promise I will be nice the next time he's not hiding behind locked doors.
We have stayed at this hotel twice a year over the past several years, have always had great customer service. Our Rooms are always have been clean. Arrived this year and our Truck broke down and needed several days to repair. The General Manager went out of his way to accommodate us. Breakfast is basic but was served Hot. The food was scrambled eggs, sausage , waffles, juice, coffee. There is a large parking lot and will accommodate semis / RV. There is a Dennys next door and other restaurants near by. Will definitely plan on staying at this location again.
Close off the highway but not noisy. Staff very friendly. Rooms and public area clean and in good repair. Breakfast was very limited. No fresh fruit. But was well stocked with the choices they did have. Would stay again if in the area.
Quick and simple check-in and check-out. Hotel lobby and rooms are well furnished and clean. Breakfast choices are good and varied (make your own waffles, but not scrambled eggs or sausage gravy options). Easy access to Highway 65. A little high on the price unless you can get the online discounts to work.
We were traveling late, and did not have a reservation, so I called prior to arrival to check availability and try to guarantee a room. The front desk person took our information, and everything was ready upon arrival. Great experience, nice property. If we are traveling that way again, we will definitely stay at BW - Shepherdsville, KY.
Great value! Clean, comfortable room. All amenities worked well. I had a very late check-in; the front desk was personable, and professional. Breakfast was free, nothing spectacular, but fresh and good ( there's a Denny's right across the street.) Great location-right off 65, but not so near that one hears the highway. Also centralized between Louisville and bourbon country, and not too far from the airport, but far enough to escape the higher rates. I got a great rate which even made it better! Nice job y'all!
Wow , a nice clean hotel just off the interstate . Has a rv and semi truck parking across the street . Denny's is across the street , on the west side of interstate is grocery stores , wal mart etc . Nice clean quiet room . Comfortable bed , good hot shower in morning , awesome breakfast standard hotel breakfast food . Front desk personnel were friendly and professional. It's on my list of go to hotels
A nice stay, but Fire Alarms in Multiple of our rooms, and adjacent rooms were beeping and the front desk had no resolution or spare batteries. This continued on the second night too.. Staff was friendly but beeping in empty adjacent rooms occurred to all 6 of our rooms.
I stayed at this hotel for two nights my stay was great clean, very polite good customer service and the bonus was the pool which I really loved for one it stays open until 10:00pm and it goes up to nine feet.
Staff extremely caring and kind. Clean environment, well lit for guest inside and in parking areas. Pool well kept. Breakfast has a phenomenal choice for any age person. Pet friendly, I myself had teenages instead of actual pets. But promise staff is great with teenages too.
The room was large and clean. Beds were comfortable. The pillows were great. The air conditioner worked good. We had a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The workers was attentive and sweet. They came and emptied trash and gave fresh towels. I would stay again.
It could use some updating.. and the beds was a wore out and hard as a rock.. but it was clean.. the staff was amazing they was so friendly.. and location was great for what all we needed to do.. and very easy to find..
I give this hotel a HUGH 10!!! the staff was very professional and friendly. from making reservations over the phone down to checking in the staff was very professional and friendly. the hotel was quiet and clean. the common areas stayed tidy. the pool area was clean. I didnt have time to swim but if i did i most definitely would of enjoyed the relaxing pool. I have stayed in many hotels from coast to coast and this hotel was one of the most pleasant experiences i have had in a very long time. you couldnt ask for much more. we have a great time and will return next year.
Nice, clean hotel. Nothing fancy, but very nice. Location is right in off the interstate, and I mean my window was 50 yards from the off ramp, but there are a million places to eat in that area. Breakfast offering was mediocre, only negative thing I can say about the place or my stay. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
We stayed at Best Western Shepherdville Kentucky on Saturday November 29. The gal who checked us in was very friendly and informative. We asked for a quiet room and good restaurant she gave us both. The room was very clean and quiet and restaurant was awesome. We had our bikes on the bike rack and she informed us where the cameras were. The gal who checked us out was very friendly and polite. We will stay again!
I chose this place to stay after doing research for weeks prior. We came to Shepherdsville for a wedding and checked in, the lady at the desk was super sweet and the lobby looked nice but smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. I paid no real mind to that, thinking the smell wasn't a big deal, and my husband, our 14 month old and myself got into the room. It was straight up disgusting. The beds and floor felt damp from moisture, it smelled like mold, the smoke detector was hanging out of the wall, unsure if it was functional or not. My son walked around and his feet became pure black after only half an hour. The little cubby hole for the in-room refrigerator had apparent water damage and the wood floor of it was completely caved in and was chipping apart and breaking. My son was the one who found it and brought me tiny wet wood chips. From check in to check out (with a full refund) was one hour. One hour! Do NOT waste your time and money staying here when you can take the next exit down and stay somewhere clean for the same price. These other reviews mislead me and I regret it so much. I hope this review falls upon the eyes of another parent or really anyone hoping to stay in a place that doesn't make you feel like you're in a wet cardboard box on the side of the road next to a bunch of ashtrays. I was in such a hurry to leave this place that I only got the picture of the smoke detector.
Worst experience in a hotel I have had in a very long time..checkout started out well until we got into our room and had a knock at the door when we answered it was the front desk lady running down the hallway laughing saying she was doing door dash…the room clearly needed updated had a foul odor and was damp.. the entire head of the bed leaned the bed was hard as a rock and felt damp to the touch… when we pulled back the sheet that they had draped over the blanket there was 4 very large and fresh blood spots on the blanket
I want to start out with the check in lady was great and sweet, but the hotel smelled so bad, the room smelled bad, it felt dirty and the outside looked like a bad neighborhood I couldn't even stay I paid for it and didn't end up staying there.
Not the best overall experience but well priced, and safe. This won't be my first choice if I'm in the area again. Run down property, sub par breakfast, overcharged from confirmation with advance reservation. But room was acceptable and quiet.
We usually choose Best Westerns because they are affordable, have free breakfast and usually have access to a refrigerator since we travel with medication. This hotel met all of our expectations during our trip to visit the Bourbon trial. It is also very close to the KOA where other family members were staying. We didn't spend lots of time at the hotel but it met all of our basic needs. We stayed for a week at the end of July 2021. The pool is still closed. Staffed indicated it would be another three months before it could be serviced to be reopened due to pool service companies being booked up. We ended up using the pool at the KOA. The breakfast was typical bag and go due to covid regulations. Options were cereal, milk, coffee, pastries, yogurt and fruit. We used the laundry facilities several times, everything worked fine but there was only one washer and one dryer. It would be nice to have access to more machines. Cassie who worked at the front desk was super helpful and friendly. We had a few requests and she helped us with whatever we needed. Due to an employee shortage they don't have enough people to clean rooms everyday and so they were on an every other day schedule. There were times we needed extra towels, bedding or toiletries. The person who seemed to be in charge of the cleaning staff was Bob and he was also very kind and helped with any extra things we needed. Overall, everyone here seemed to be doing the best they could and we are thankful for that. The only other thing I should mention is that this hotel seems to attract "non-guests" who loiter outside of the hotel in the evenings. I have read other reviewers mention this issue as well. This happened a few times and we contacted the front desk who took care of the problem person. They do need better security at this property.
Not very clean. Bed had hair all over it!!! Definitely thought this one would be as good as the last one we stayed at!! Hopefully the trip home we get a better hotel than this one, walls were dirty and even the ceiling looked like someone exploded a pop in the room ..
I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff. Check in was great, full of smiles, and helpful. Also, the sheets, towels, and bathroom were clean. Close to I-65. NEG:The hotel itself was VERY damp, had a very chemical order, beds are VERY HARD, air/heater sounded like a plane taking off each time it started, and their breakfast was sketchy at best. (Generic cereal, but no milk. Coffee, but no creamer. Frozen rolls. Try Denny's next door.)
I really enjoyed the stay. The check in staff was very friendly. The hotel was nice. Will be glad when things get back to normal from covid19 because the pool was not open due to covid and breakfast did not have the waffles like normal but they did provide a decent selection for breakfast. Would definitely stay again
We took our baseball team down for a tournament and picked this hotel as it was close to E-town and Louisville. When we arrived there was drug deals happening in the parking lot. Prostitution all night long in and out of the hotel. The front desk told us we couldn't play corn hole in the parking lot but never addressed our issues with drug activity or prostitution. The room and hotel smelled terrible. Rooms were not clean and AC didn't work properly.
If you want ro have a clean place to stay, quiet, restful next best thing to being home. Try Best Western. I do recommend this motel. I have traveled to and from Kentucky to Colorado each time i would stay at Best Western. There is none better.
Smoke smell right at the hotel entrance. Room smelled pretty funky. Uncomfortable bathroom. Room did not look clean at all. Hairs on bedding and bathroom. Kids were scared to even walk on socks. The only plus was the nice lady at the front desk.
This hotel is run down, dirty, and allowed smoking in rooms. All night long I had to breathe smoke from the room next door. One of the rooms in our group had dirty clothes and shoes in it. Our shower had a home in the wall.
The staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the bathtub had not been cleaned. It had hair in it and trash around it. There was no hot water that evening and not even enough early the next morning for a shower. They had advertised a Continental breakfast but there wasn't one. We had looked forward to our stay there but ended up very disappointed.
I was very pleased as I arrived at 11:30 pm at night. Front Desk Person greeted me very nicely and was fast which checking me in. One thing I would like to mention is the cleanliness of the bathroom needed to be cleaned as I did find hair on the floor, toilet and in bath tube. Over all this was a great stay, very comfortable and got a good nights rest.
Staff was so nice and helpful especially because I had my 2 dogs with me and I had to coordinate room cleaning because they can be high stress. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I came to just have a relaxing break and I felt really rejuvenated after my stay. Thanks for the nice stay. I also really enjoyed the set up of the room. There was lots of great storage and lighting.
Cleanliness and safety are our top priorities when selecting a hotel. Plus, we travel with our dogs, so a dog-friendly hotel is an absolute must. Staying in Shepherdsville was a better option than in Louisville. However, at this particular location, at least one of the entrances was not locked throughout the day and night, despite the sign on the door saying it must stay locked. Obviously this violated our safety requirement. Other than that, an average hotel with no other complaints.
The price for this hotel was fantastic, because it's going through a renovation, which is really needed since everything looks a little dingy and has a stale cigarette smell. Our visit started out rocky when the refrigerator in our room didn't work, but we were quickly moved to the room across the hall, no big deal. The room was clean, but the beds seemed kind of wobbly. We didn't use the pool or fitness center so I can't comment on those, but the breakfast was pretty good considering there aren't buffets anymore. The front desk staff were very helpful every time I interacted with them and that was appreciated. Overall, I would probably wait until the renovation is over before I stayed here again.
Service was great. Rooms were nice. Easy to find was right off the expressway. Lots of options for restaurants. Has a Denny's within walking distance remaining restaurants were a short distance away. Enjoyed our stay.
I travel a lot and I try to choose Best Western as my main place to stay. Best Western at Shepherdsville was very clean the people were very courteous and I was happy to be there. Our country is going through a difficult time and they had a lot of precautionary measures to help control the Coronavirus. I support them on their efforts.
The hotel was being renovated according to signs posted, but there was no evidence or noise in our hallway. Employees were courteous, showerhead was awesome, breakfast was delicious! We will definitely keep this on our list of places to stay in our future travels!
Room was big and very clean. Check in was easy and McKenzie(sp) was very helpful. Location is convenient for the bourbon distilleries we toured. The lobby had some very helpful flyers for attractions too.
There for business had my dog... perfect place i had a few certificates so room was cheap, front desk was friendly and room was amazing... close to everywhere i needed to be. Breakfast had a nice selection.
Stayed at the Shepherdsville BW for 2 nights for a visit to Kentucky earlier this month . The hotel was undergoing some renovation so things were a little messy in hallways . Our room was fairly clean, the king-size bed was comfortable, and the room had a mini-fridge and microwave. The complimentary breakfast was subpar at best .
My husband and I stopped at the Best Western Shepherdsville for an overnight stay. From the desk clerk that checked us in, to the young lady that attended to the breakfast details, everything was very exceptional. Although our stay was short, we left very rested and filled. The room was very clean and service was great. The breakfast was very good with a nice variety of food choices. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
We liked our stay at the hotel. Nicely redone in most areas, and so great that pets are allowed. Our room was okay, in the pet wing and not yet renovated. Much of the hotel is extremely nicely redone.
They're in the middle of a renovation, so I imagine it's going to be a little more modern soon, but it was clean and comfortable as is. Good breakfast as well. It's older, so rooms are maybe a little smaller than some newer hotels, but it's perfectly fine. Would stay again if in the area.
Our stay at Best Western was very enjoyable. The room was clean and quiet. The employees were very helpful and courteous. They made us feel very welcome. The motel is located next to the interstate and several restaurants are in the area
Great location, with clean rooms. It has a typical breakfast with fake eggs and sausage as well as waffles and all the other items you normally find. They have friendly staff and an Outdoor pool. Camper or semi truck parking available across the street
Nice, clean small property right off the interstate. Rooms are quiet and large. Easy to get to with lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Not too far away from downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Price was nice too.
Friendly check in staff and breakfast staff. Good breakfast. Much better BW than the one spent in the night before in Mesquite, TX. They were putting up the Christmas tree when I left. Would definitely stay again.
After staying at this property many times over the last four years we're done with it. Even after a rennovation and remodel we had a bed that was broken down and horrible: Only to receive a mousey "Sorry" when I said something about it. If it weren't for truckers this property would more than likely be shut down. Sad that one horrible experience can cause this, but it does. I don't have to spend my money where it's not appreciated.
The stay was great, the room was very clean and the hotel is in a decent area. I would stay here again. The Night staff was friendly and the housekeeping staff was also very friendly. I enjoy the stay.
We were on the road for 12 hrs and were very tired when we stopped at this Best Western. By complete chance this was one of the best stops were have ever made. Staff were friendly, building was clean, room was in great shape, bed linen was clean and crisp. Breakfast was......SUPER! I mean my whole family was so happy because of what was offered! Great breakfast buffet, highly recommended!!
Nice rooms. the staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was real good rooms was clean. beds where comfortable. easy to get t from expressway Price was goo . Rooms big Would recommend this hotel Overall nice and clean
Tami, the front desk clerk, was fantastic in helping us get a room for our family for the best price, including an upgrade. The Breakfast Bar was great with extra toppings for eggs and waffles that I had not seen on previous breakfast bars. I would stay here again if going through that area.
The staff was wonderful, rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. Coffee was hot and strong. We were close to restaurants, hiking and the bourbon trail. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.
Another great best western our preference due to laundry facilities when away from home for extended period - this establishment was tops again, close to our destination, great staff, excellent rooms, wonderful breakfast no hassle to get in or out of.
Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed and nice breakfast assortment....What more could you ask for? This was a great overnight stay while attending the nearby Glendale Festival. My daughter and I were traveling alone and we felt safe at this location.
We have stayed at this BW before when we couldn't get rooms in Bardstown , the hotel is just average, rooms need a new coat of paint ,needs to be updated some and a good cleaning ,our floor and shower in our room could have used a good cleaning, good location right off I65 and close to restaurants, motel does allow pets, no pool and does have a breakfast not to good but does have several items, floor in breakfast area was Dirty, we did have a quite night for sleep , beds were quite hard, just old !!
After a rough drive in the rain, we checked in to a wonderful time at the Best Western in Shepherdsville, KY. We had to go out for supper and returned in the rain. The evening clerk was very helpful, letting us play cards in the lobby while watching the football game. After a peaceful night of sleep, we woke and had a really great breakfast. We have had breakfasts at Best Western before and know that the quality is tops. This place is no exception. The food was really good and gave us a great start for Monday, our last day of travel. One of the two sections of eggs had small diced meat incorporated in it.--very good.
We stopped in Shepherdsville to stay over on our way to Fort Wayne. It was clean and quiet but the floor in the room seemed dirty and felt dirty. The breakfast was very nice and there is a Denny's almost in the parking lot. The owner of the hotel also owns the Denny's so make sure you tell them your staying for a 10% discount. The people are super friendley.
This is a nice quiet place to stop and get a good sleep and breakfast. It is a quick on and off I-65. The rooms are clean and the bedding is comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has been recently remodeled and is a good value for weary travelers.
The stay at this hotel was a pleasant one.The service was outstanding, the amenities were good, and everything in the hotel was easy to navigate. Not to mention it is right off of the interstate. Lots of stores and resturaunts in the area. It was perfect for me.
We stayed three nights at this Best Western . The breakfast area was clean and the food was displayed buffet style well. The hotel was very clean. Front desk was polite and answered my questions, however one young lady seemed in her own little world didn't quite know what to do when I fell. Housekeeping staff was excellent. I fell on an oil slick in the parking lot after we checked out. I believe the manager did the best he could with the situation
This hotel is a bit strange looking when you first drive up. The reason is the photographs I saw during my online booking app made the hotel seem like a new construction hotel. However, note that only the front street facing section has had a complete modernization while the rest of the two story "room" section appears to be an older construction. However, do not let this deter you from staying at this hotel with friendly staff, clean and renovated rooms and bathrooms. Location is just off the freeway but we didn't have noise disturbances. Comfortably spent one night here before heading to the nearby Jim Beam Distillery.
Best Western Shepherdsville, Ky is a great value with wonderful amenities! The breakfast has everything imaginable from eggs and sausage to fresh fruit and waffles. The kids loved the super clean pool with shallow to 9 foot deep with the added bonus of pool towels by the door to the pool which most hotels don't include. The rooms are clean and fresh towels daily. The front desk staff is amazing! We would definitely stay here again. You will not be disappointed!
The people at the front desk were super friendly and go out of their way to keep your stay satisfying. The building was clean and the room was spotless. I definitely recommend best western shepherdsville, ky. I loved my room the internet was so amazing and no glitches. I also had the breakfast was hot and ready to go. I also liked that the breakfast lasted 3 hours from 6 to 9. I also took advantage of the washer and dryer they were cheap and worked amazingly. The room smelled good when I walked in the sheets and blanket was nice and white. I parked in front of my room with no issues. The whole experience was just super nice.
Stayed her for a single night and thought it was fine. Front desk clerk took a little time getting me checked in, but was pleasant. Our king room was clean, quiet, comfortable and everything worked. Free breakfast was a nice bonus.
I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western. The rooms were plenty spacious enough and the beds were very comfortable. The hot breakfast each morning was a good way to start the day and the coffee was very good. They were doing some renovations going on so the Fitness Room wasn't available but there was a high school with a very nice track across the road. Check-in and check-out were very quick and easy and the Front Desk Staff and Room Staff were all very pleasant. I travel a fair amount and I would definitely stay here again and will do so if I come back next Summer to the same AAU Basketball Event.
Beds make or break your stay and ours were AWFUL! They was old and hard so a full nights sleep was impossible. The one positive is the workers were very helpful. Outdoor pool area was nice for the kids in our group.
We stay at several Best Western locations because we have a dog and since they are pet friendly this works well. However, this Louisville location goes WAY above any location we have stayed at. They always greet you when you when entering the front entrance. It's so nice having coffee in the lobby all of the time where that's fresh when you want it! The front desk staff is so friendly and happy! It seems like they truly enjoy their jobs and willing to help with anything needed. It's truly a breath of fresh air! We will certainly return to this location in our travels!
A clean and comfortable room with friendly staff at the hotel. A broken lamp in our room was replaced promptly. Breakfast is above average. The only downside was no fitness center due to remodeling. However, there was no other evidence of remodeling that we saw. Very satisfied with our stay overall.
I travel extensively for work and pleasure as well. This stay in particular, was family oriented. Out of all the chains I stay in. I always come back to Best Western. The service is always exceptional, accommodating and welcoming with some of the best breakfast buffers anywhere. The stay at Shepherdsville, did not disappoint. Clean, comfortable and friendly. We will be back to stay on our next trip out that way
Upon checking into this place, I was taken aback about how friendly the front desk staff was. In fact, the desk clerk called our room after about an hour to check up on us and let us know to contact her if we needed anything. We then visited the pool, which was fantastic! Much larger than normal hotel pools with a beautiful pool side area. The final thing that truly impressed us was the breakfast. It had a huge selection, and the food was great! We would definitely stay at this establishment again!!!
My wife and I stayed here for the night over the weekend and I must say I was quite impressed by several of this location's offerings. First, it's conveniently located and close to everything one might want to experience in Shepherdsville. The room was spacious and quite comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night. The swimming pool area, and the pool itself was fantastic! And the breakfast was top notch with a huge amount of options, including some great biscuits and gravy! The staff at both check in and check out were eager to go above and beyond; the person who checked us in even called after an hour to ensure we had settled in nicely and offered to provide anything we needed during our stay. We'll definitely be back! Great trip! Great hotel! Great price!!!
The nonsmoking rooms smelled like cigarettes. Our toliet was backed up when we checked in. They did offer us another room or a plunger. Bathroom is tiny but does have exhaust fan. HVAC was dirty. Staff was nice and one did seem to spray our room which helped. The rooms are fairly quiet.
I was traveling as a guest during a family trip and stopped here for a one night stay. The other reviews I have read mentioned a remodel but I could not tell. Maybe it was on another floor or wing of the hotel? Average room, nothing fancy. The carpets seemed a little dingy in high traffic areas and the tub/toilet area was okay, any smaller and it would have felt crowded. The exhaust fan needs to be replaced with a quieter model. All in all, the room needed updating but it was clean and comfy. The hotel offered free breakfast which was nice (eggs, sausage, waffles, etc.) The dining area still felt new and fresh from the remodel. Nice experience, would consider staying again. Also, this hotel allows dogs. I know this because they were barking in the hallway in the early morning.
This hotel is very easy to get in and out of. Also everyone who works there goes above and beyond to make sure you're stay is as good as possible. There is a restaurant and convenience store nearby that makes it easy to pick up anything you may have forgotten!!
This is a very classy hotel at a reasonable rate. Extremely polite, courteous, and helpful clerk that made checking a breeze. Beautiful lobby and restrooms that were well appointed and very clean. Room was beautiful and had everything you would expect to find In luxury hotels. After a great night sleep in very comfortable queen size beds, we enjoyed a very satisfying hot buffet breakfast in a really nice dining room. Could not have had a better stay anywhere else. Very high marks, and we will make Best Western our first place to stay on future trips.
Clean rooms. Great service at the desk. Breakfast was good. good location. I have two more trips to Louisville and I will book them at this Best Western location. I recommended this hotel to a friend. He got a room and was very please with his stay.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. The room was with two queen size beds and plenty of space to move around. Plenty of hot water for showers and room access was easy even though we were on the second floor.
The front desk people were friendly. This place was really dated. The carpets were old and the bathroom tub was older. The toilet was really loud when flushed and it ran, dripped all night. We didn't contact the front desk about it, because we kept hoping it would stop. It was really loud for a small room, so we didn't sleep much! We were comfortable in bed and weren't up to moving to another room. That's why we held out hopes it would stop! The tractor trailers were parked across from our room and they were coming and going all hours, which also made it difficult to sleep. The breakfast wasn't good. Something was wrong with the juice. It tasted bad. I mentioned all this upon check out and the lady at the desk said the manager would probably give us a break on our bill. We haven't heard from the manager. It wasn't cheap for the location either, considering it wasn't really near any major attractions. We wouldn't stay there again.
Probably the best Best Western I've stayed in yet. The rooms are extremely clean and neat, along with nice decor. They have an excellent hot breakfast. The staff are amazing and friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and easy access from the freeway.
We stayed at this hotel April 15, 2019. I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay here. It had been totally renovated & the rooms were like new from draperies, bedding, carpeting, granite countertops to towels! The front desk receptionist was most welcoming & made sure we were satisfied with everything in our room. The beds were most comfortable & we slept very well. The breakfast was great & the coffee was excellent! We checked in & out efficiently & quickly. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in this area. It was by far the best Best Western we've ever stayed in!!!
Easy check in and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and adequate. It is located just off Interstate 65 and is easy to get to. Our checkout was also easy. You do have the option of a quick checkout if you wish. Near several restaurants and shopping areas.
This was an overnight stay with family which required two rooms. The rooms were next to each other. The sink in one room backed up immediately after use, and the sink in the other room would not drain. I called the front desk and they told me they would send the maintenance man to try and fix it. They explained that since the hotel was fully booked they could not move us to another room. The maintenance man was unable to fix the problem, so resigned ourselves to stay due to the late hour. Upon checkout we talked to the front desk manager, who already knew about the problem and she was able to give us a total refund for our stay. That being said, I would say that the management responded quickly and resolved our issue by refunding the total amount of charges for the stay for both rooms. We did receive an email from the General Manager apologizing for our inconvenience. We are satisfied with their attention to our problem and if we are in the area again we would consider staying here again. The hotel is quite dated (structure), however it appears that they are in the process of remodeling the rooms.
This hotel is ideally located for travel. It is always clean and well kept. The staff is excellent and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the Louisville area. Great deal for the money.
This was just a pit stop on a road trip. I made an online reservation (based on trip advisor reviews) about 45 minutes before we arrived. Check in was quick and easy, Tami was friendly and efficient. The room was definitely dated, but it seemed cleaned, didn't smell bad. There was a big jacuzzi tub in the room that we weren't expecting. It had a bit of a bleach smell, so I assume it had been cleaned well. The only issue was that there was a bit of hair on the floor in the bathroom and the tub. There was a refrigerator, microwave, and in room coffee. Complimentary breakfast was good.
Easy access near the interstate. We were welcomed in a friendly way. The room was functional, clean. The breakfast was really good. The hot food was really hot and the coffe good. Good amount of things to choose from and fruit as well. All the personal were very friendly and wanted our best. Thank you, if we pass again we will return
Second time staying at this hotel as part of our annual migration home from Florida to the north. This Best Western is adjacent I-65 right off the ramp. Very easy to access and depart. The hotel is going through a complete renovation with most rooms updated. The two best features are the friendly and helpful front desk staff and the great Denny's retro 50's restaurant adjacent to the parking lot. Hotel guests receive a 10% discount at the restaurant by showing a room card. The rooms are large with a above average size fridge, microwave and 42" LED television with plenty of HD Channels. WiFi is free and trouble free. The beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows. Ask for a room on the second floor facing the parking lot. We were placed across the hall from the elevator and still heard no noise during the night. The complimentary breakfast beginning at 6:00AM is above average with great selections of eggs, bacon, sausages, toast etc. Larger selection than most hotels in this price range. The parking lot is huge and well lit. We recommend this hotel and will stay here again next season.
i didnt have to wipe counter tops off. the floors were all very clean the staff was great they have very good car hauler parking unless its raining . you will get your boots muddy . and dennys is just across the street
Great stay. Some remodeling going on but did not disturb our stay. Lobby area very homey and inviting. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay here again. There's a classic Dennys diner across the side street that was convenient and you receive 10% off with key card envelope
This is a great place to stay the night the employees were extremely nice and helpful rooms were clean and beds was kind of comfortable Denny's across the street will also knock 10% off the bill for staying there the price is kind of expensive tho but worth it
We are so glad we selected the Best Western, Shepherdsville, KY location. The hotel staff was excellent, could not have been better. Our room was fresh and clean. The hotel lobby, hallways were also clean and nice, along with the atmosphere, in and around the hotel. Going forward, when we visit Louisville, KY, this Best Western hotel will be our landmark to stay. Highly recommend it!!
Room was clean, heat was quiet, front desk very friendly, breakfast hot, good, and in clean area. Room decor was a bit dated. The 2 rooms I've seen here are designed with the sink outside the bathroom - some prefer this arrangement, others do not (as the 1st riser wakes others when using the sink). The bathroom is very small with a very small toilet.
We were greeted by the nicest smiling face! I loved the hospitality and small talk. The room was average, nothing special, nothing horrible. It was cozy and comfy. Nice lobby and breakfast. Would stay again!
I was very pleased with my stay at the Best Western in Shepherdsville. The rooms were very nice, Internet was fast, complimentary breakfast was available, plenty of parking, Fast check-ins & Express check out. EXCELLENT STAFF they go above and beyond to help you!
We stay here twice a year to and from the Gulf Coast. The rooms are clean; the staff is friendly; and a good breakfast. The dog likes it too. Yes, they are renovating and these things take time and don't interfere with the quality of the stay for us.
They are starting renovations of rooms but have not completed any yet. Room was good size and clean, it just feels old... Low lights, old colors, a lot of little carpet stains and paint chips. Breakfast was hot and good. Staff was nice. Restaurants in area are lacking a bar if you feel like a drink. Top picks are Cracker Barrel and Denny's.
No-nonsense, clean room with cordial, efficient staff. Hotel currently under some renovation so watch out for the sawdust! No buggy-construction personnel appeared to be “a cut above” usual- no gawking, cursing etc. Breakfast staff very polite We had a Very Pleasant overnight stay Will return when in the area
The exterior is being renovated but was not inconvenient. The lobby area and breakfast room are great. Food was equal to the typical hotel breakfast but the room was large and comfortable. The bed was good and the bath was clean and comfortable. There were stains on the carpet in the room, otherwise it was clean. Not quite the best BW experience we have had but for an overnight stay it was fine.
Our trip was to visit family which included a Shepherdsville family member. This was actually our third time to stay at this BW in Shepherdsville. It's convenient, easy to get to, has great amenities, a good breakfast and comfortable beds/rooms. There was some inconvenience because of construction (a new roof) this time. Maybe an even better stay next time? The staff have always been pleasant and available when needed. We'll be staying there again when we travel through.
The hotel staff were very friendly and acomadating. The room was very neat and everything was in order. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone no matter if you were staying one night or twenty.
This is a go to for me in this area. There is a Dennys Diner right across the street that offers hotel discount and a BP on the corner for other needs. They were putting a new roof on the hotel when i stayed there. Best Western is my absolute favorite hotel chain, as i stay in a hotel 3 to 4 days per week.
The staff person here was very welcoming and very professionally dressed. She helped me with the computer and lots of information. Such a great help for us old folks. We stayed two nights and enjoyed hot breakfasts here. Relaxing stay - no problems
Lobby & entrance looked very inviting but what a huge let down when we saw the room. The room & bathroom need a complete make-over. Very old & dated. The bathroom was split with vanity in the room. The bathroom was so tiny and had low toilet which definitely needs to be replaced with standard height model. The shower enclosure needs a thorough clean & maintenance. The breakfast bar & room needs attention from the attendant who appeared not to care whatsoever. There was no creamer & her answer was simply that they ran out...too bad, so sad! The tables needed to be wiped off. She definitely needs to find another job with that attitude! She held out in her room playing on her smart phone the whole time we were there.
The hotel is easy to find and there is ample parking. The person working the front desk when we checked in was ban The hotel is easy to find and there is ample parking. The person working the front desk when we checked in was very friendly and outgoing. She was definitely very welcoming. We use the laundry service which was located on the ground floor. There was a Denny's restaurant within walking distance and the woman working at the desk gave us the name of several other restaurants within a mile. There were a lot of selections at breakfast The only disappointing thing during our stay was the fact that the fitness center was closed. If we were riding along this interstate again we would definitely stay here another time.
rooms need to be upgraded badly. people were playing loud music and drinking in the parking lot at 11pm at night. not worth the $100 for the night for the quality of the room. fitness room was unavailable as well.
Nice motel in a good location. Easily accessible right off I65. Clean rooms, good breakfast with choices presented well. Numerous restaurants in the area, as well as gasoline. Well lit parking lot. Non smoking motel.
Hotel is great! Staff members are all so friendly and helpful. The pool was sparking clean and empty each day of our stay, like having our own pool. Lobby area. The free breakfast was great too! Our only issue is that the hotel did not have accessible showers, but we knew that going in. Rooms are a little outdated decor wise, but the benefits outweigh the cons here. The location is great, right off 65, 20 minutes to Louisville's downtown area.
The staff was was great they are all very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, close to Louisville and Fort Knox. Many places to eat nearby shopping and gas stations are also close by. The Lincoln trail and the bourbon trail are nearby and good excursions.
They were very nice and welcoming helped find a clean ( meaning healthy food) place to eat cause I have to watch what I eat.put me in a end bed room so really short walking for 98 year old mom. Place was exceptionally clean and clean smelling. We made reservations on phone she ask us how far away we were so see could set room temp for momand told us which exit no# to look for,. Very friendly staff.
We stayed during the weekend of August 3-5. Miss Stephanie checked us in and made us feel right at home. The room was clean our only uh.. moments was some hair in the tub but that happens at home right? The day staff was equally nice. Housekeeping was very nice and helpful with extra towels etc... The pool was amazing. You just don't find a large outdoor pool anymore. They keep it clean as well the entire area. My only concern would be that on very busy area event weekends, they would add an extra desk staff to assist in check ins. At some times, the line was into the lobby area. But, Clerk kept a cheerful attitude the entire time. We would definitely stay here again.
Great breakfast & good value I have stayed here many times and they are always nice and very accomodating. Their price is very competitive and the location is very good for me. There are many shops and stores at this exit so I can always get & do what I like. The Bourbon tours are recommended.
Hotel easy to find as it is right off expressway. Outside is well lite all around. The lobby is new and spacious. The staff was friendly and quick to check me in. The continental breakfast was large with options. Seating and tables clean and nice. The room we had needed remodeled witch the hotel is in the midst of doing. As paint and modernization required. Room had space, good water pressure and clean. For a one night stop it was good and price was right. Would use again.
On my way from Michigan to Florida. Front desk was very nice and checked me in quickly. She also told me, in the sweetest southern accent, about the 10% discount at Denny's (which is about 30-40 yards away) if I showed my room card before ordering (yes-I ate there). They have parking for larger vehicles, which was a plus for me(15ft moving truck towing a car). Nothing wrong with the room. Standard Best Western room -clean and organized. I don't comment on the beds because everyone's taste is different when it comes mattresses. There's a pool(didn't use, but saw people in the hallway frequently coming from the pool). The time is 10:42pm and all I hear is the A/C- it's quiet. I am a little disappointed-check that(who am I kidding)- ok, a little irked about the internet speeds here- 6mpbs... its 2018 Best Western!!! (you could possibly lose my business, and probably other customers as well, with just this stat alone in today's day and age). To summarize; good location for I-65 travelers, pool, quiet, big/long vehicle parking, good customer service, 10% discount at Denny's within crawling distance, and don't try to do anything on the internet that requires more than 6mbps(which caused the 4 green owl eyes instead of 5). That about covers it. Pardon the punctuation. Thanks for reading.
I decided to stay here on my way to Chicago and this hotel was an excellent choice. The rate was reasonable. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. My room was big and spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. I'd like to say a special thanks to Chelsey who does breakfast. She was warm and pleasant and made my day a little bit brighter. Excellent service from her. And the hotel is easily accessible from I-65 at Exit 117. I would definitely stay here again
We stayed two separate nights on a weekend in this Best Western. Both times, we were given the rooms we asked for which were two queen beds on the first floor. The rooms were clean and the carpets had been swept. There were plenty of lights in the room, WiFi was good and many TV channels. There was a variety of food to choose from at breakfast. There were scrambled eggs and in addition fried eggs over easy, sausage links and patties and the biscuits tasted better than in most other hotels. Check in and out went easy. Would stay here again.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and we enjoyed our stay. The staff recommended a local spot for dinner and we had a great time in this town. Breakfast was nice, but the usual offerings.
I did not stay at any other Sheperdsville hotel and I have never been to the area before, but this was just average. The breakfast was lukewarm and crowded; nothing special. The wifi was awful, so I was not able to get online, find restaurants or prepare for my trip ahead. The hotel was noisy.
Front desk staff very helpful. I was taking the Bourbon Tour the front desk staff help with how far away each place was and the best route. The staff member use their own personal phone to map it for me.
The desk clerk was very friendly when we checked in and attempted to get us an upgraded room. I had requested a king size bed and was given a room with two double beds. We ended up making it work and overall had a nice quiet evening.
With only a very tall sign high above the highway to identify it, we weren't entirely certain we were at the correct place until I got out of the car and went to the door where I could see Best Western posters inside the building. The hotel is being renovated, but I think there should still be a way to tell what hotel it is from the outside. Check in was quite slow since we decided to use points. We ended up in the jacuzzi room which is really rather cramped because of the large tub in the middle of the room. That means no bedside table or lamp on that side of the bed. We did not use the jacuzzi but for others it might have been a wonderful upgrade. The location is about 30 minutes from the Louisville Expo Center and it might be a good option for those who do not want to pay the price of the closer accommodations.
I can say that I have stayed at this best western enough times this year, more than 40 times and have always had a great time, I earned diamond status by staying here alone and have received the best treatment and excellent large rooms, I love that this hotel is quiet, and always been clean, the staff always goes out of the way to acomodate you in every way possible, I love that. for a minimal fee I can take my lil yorkie, the rooms are 100 percent smoke free, I love that too, breakfast is excellent,,they have a pool in the summer to use also so give this hotel a try.. I think you will love their rewards program too! thanks best wesren! pam b
We stayed here two nights ago and were surprised by the indifferent attitude displayed by the front office staff at check in. No welcoming comments, or thank you's or "enjoy your stay". The we get to the room and there are black hairs in the drain of the whirlpool tub and urine stains on the bottom of the toilet seat. Fortunately, we carry along Lysol in case we ever encounter this.....and this was a first for us at BW. We probably should have checked out, but we were tired, the weather was not good and we could remedy the issues we found. In the past five years we stayed extensively at Best Western during our travels. Only one other time have a written what I consider a negative review and it had more to do with the condition of a property than cleanliness and staff behavior. We definitely give this location two thumbs down.
With the exception of the cleaning / maid staff the rest of the staff left quite a bit to be desired. The housekeeping staff especially Janice were all very friendly and accommodating. The front desk staff seemed to always be preoccupied with other "duties" or visits with other staff. The breakfast staff were not friendly at all and seemed to not like their jobs. The food especially the bacon was very greasy and most of the items were cold. I overheard comments from several patrons regarding their displeasure with the breakfast food and staff. Do yourself a favor and walk across the parking lot to Dennys and have a very enjoyable and heated meal.
Late arrival was greeted well and room was ready no issues. Staff was friendly, breakfast was ready ahead of time and good quality. Security was good no issues, parking lot was well lit and access to the building was good.
Great government rate for this very nice room in a safe area. No breakfast but there is a Dennys right next door so that was not a negative. The room was exceptional with a king size bed and very nice staff to assist.
Over the years, we have stayed overnight at this hotel several times and have never been disappointed. It is very conveniently located off I-65 and our latest stay was comfortable and quiet. One possible problem is the room location. Ask for a room on the east side - as the rooms on the west receive some highway noise. The WIFI is good, the staff very friendly and helpful. The Denny's Diner next door offers a discount when shown the Best Western Room key. The complimentary hot breakfast at the hotel is always one of the best on our travels.
This was a stop for our family after a long day of driving. Our goal was to get some sleep and head out. So for that and the price, it was a decent stop. It's definitely dated and needs a good cleaning. But the front desk staff was nice. The beds were comfy and the shower had great pressure. However, the shower curtain had a greasy handprint where someone had pulled the current open or shut and the whole room just needed a good cleaning as it was dusty and dirty under the furniture. I was concerned about the highway noise I had read in other reviews, but we were facing the highway and had no problems. This is a pet friendly hotel so if you have allergies be careful. The rooms are on the smaller side, but for a quick night sleep and then heading out before daylight it wasn't a big deal. I would return for one night if needed, but I think I'd seek a bigger more modern hotel if I needed an extended stay.
Stayed here in March on my way to a conference. Hotel was clean and the price was right. Chris at the front desk was super nice. My son said he was the nicest guy he met in his life!!! They were doing some renovations to the fitness room so it wasnt open, I probably wouldn't have used it anyway. I would stay here again!
My stay was just what I needed and the staff was wonderful. Great atmosphere. I recommend this hotel to my family and friends. Nice job. The young man that checked me in was so helpful, he helped me with the remote for the television. A perfect gentleman. Thank you Chris.
Just a short stay on a drive to California. A very comfortable site with friendly staff. The room was perfect for an overnight and the complementary breakfast was appreciated. Would stay here again. Recommended
This was a great hotel, a good value, and we plan to stay here again. The hotel was a great value, the people who checked us in and those that checked us out were very helpful and friendly. The room and beds were great, and everything was clean,
hi thank you best western as the super cold weather came in , our heat went out at home,, i turned to best western, 2 times this year, for a several day stay each time,, and im happy i did, everything was clean (and warm) quiet, and reasonable rate too,, even was able to bring my tiny yorkies, and the fee was very cheap,,, i will stay here again,, we love you guys!! pam b
Very clean, modern spacious rooms, and warm, friendly staff! We didn't realize at first that we had stayed at the same property last year! Great location with very good pricing. Free, hot deluxe breakfast with many options. Dog friendly too!
Excellent place to stay. This Best Western is very clean, comfortable, and the service is top notch. They are always going the extra mile to take care of you. Breakfast service is excellent. I would definitely stay here again.
Good Location for Bourbon tours and the Arboretum. Not far from Mammoth Caves, so the location for me was the key. The hotel is on the other side for the highway from the busy mall but also a dicey walk to the food. Ample choices for food close by though.
Checking is always Pleasant. Very convenient stop for CLC Corporate Lodging card. Very pleasant and polite staff at all times. Breakfast is definitely a super plus in the mornings. Plenty of parking for our very large car haulers. In the summertime they have the absolute best pool around!
The facilities of many hotels are relatively comparative based on costs, but the staff at the Best Western in Shepherdsville, KY should make you consider this as THE place to stay when you need to be close to Louisville. Right on the Interstate (I65), you can be in downtown Louisville in 20 minutes, while enjoying the peace and quiet of the rural outskirts. I've stayed in the high dollar places and the staff at this BW are friendlier and more willing to go above and beyond.
This is an older hotel, but the remodel is nice. The staff will wow you! They are helpful, friendly, kind and caring while also professional and quite welcoming. We will definitely stay here again!!!!
Just an average, older BW, conveniently located off I-65 with a Denny's restaurant within walking distance and a KFC/Pizza Hut, and gas station, also very close. The room was comfortable and fairly clean. Small fridge and microwave in the room. Free breakfast is great for travelers too. Safe, well-lit parking lot.
This is an older property, fairly well maintained. Lobby and breakfast room appear to have been more recently updated than rest of hotel. Breakfast room is also spotless. Breakfast is acceptable, with the usual offerings. Rooms are smaller, but comfortable and clean. Furniture and decor could use updating, but my understanding is that renovations and updates are planned in the near future. Bedding is newer and beds are comfortable. No problems during our stay. Will definitely use this hotel in the future.
Outdated and poorly maintained hotel. Needs a remodel. Priced comparable to a Hampton or Holiday Inn Ex but is far from that level of experience. Outdated large jacuzzi tub with wood surround in ht room but no real desk or office chair. Just a table and dining chair in the corner with a lamp that looked like garage sale item. Was going to order a pizza in but then realized there was no place to eat it except in bed. This is a late night crash pad and go type of place. Single pane glass in window with interstate very close. Loud, that window did little to stop the traffic noise.
Thought property had been updated since our visit two years ago. Room ok, but has nasty smell. Room came with hot tub, which may be the smell. Steps to hot tub dangerously close to the side of the bed, causing a tripping hazard during the night. Toilet runs for a very long time!!! Also, new owners ( 2 years ago), opted not to continue with the quaint little bar onsite. This was a nice perk as no driving after a cocktail. Dennys Diner across the parking lot and Lights Out bar and grill 1/3 mile away. Many other venues in either direction. Road and hallway noises very loud!!. Especially emergency vehicles. They drove through hotel parking lot as I write this!! Also, roof covered in blue tarp!!
Wasn't the greatest BW we have stayed at, but we didn't experience any major or minor problems during our stay. Room was clean, breakfast was decent, internet worked fine and staff were friendly'ish. Hotel was pretty dated, but kept up nice for its age. Will return again if needed but prefer the Country Inn and Suites across the highway.
We found the staff to be very friendly but the room itself was cramped and in need of updating. The lobby was nice. The breakfast room was above average and breakfast was very good. We stay at Best Western when ever possible and expect this property to improve in the future.
Clean efficient rooms. We had a king suite that was located on back side. It was z little on the noisy side due to interstate being 10 yards away. Had a problem with a female staff member barging into room while i was exiting the shower. Her explanation was they were doing occupancy room checks. Needless to say i was very unhappy. Housekeeping was rude and washers was loud. Continental breakfast was terrible
Great Place to stay. Breakfast was great.Price was a little high I thought.Other then that I would stay here again.Staff was great with pointing out a good dinner option and most of all we were able to have our dog stay with us and it didn't cost a arm and a leg.
I selected the hotel based on the location so I could try to ride the entire Bourbon Trail in one weekend and it worked out quite nicely. The hotel itself is in good shape and provides amenities one would expect for the price point. Desk staff may need to be bumped up at times, one guy handling the phone and trying to check in four different guests was just too much.
linen was not changed from previous tenant and were stained. Hotel staff were in different at best. decent breakfast items were hot. Have stayed in enough best western to rate elite status but would not have know it. Best Western is an excellent chain normally but this one is not one of them
we were traveling in the Bardstown KY area and decided to stay at the Best Western in Shepherdsville, because it was right off interstate 65 , motel is close to restaurants and other shopping. the motel rooms are nice and clean, older but up to date and quite. rooms are of good size and comfortable, and non-smoking. they have a full course breakfast and good.
Great location easy access to everything. We visited Jim Beam, Four Roses and enjoyed the My Old Kentucky dinner train. Would recommend if you want to have an enjoyable weekend away. Plan on spending at least two to three days to see everything.
This is a very nice BW that provided our group with a very nice stay for a great price. Although older in appearance, this was a great experience for a group of weary bikers. Good location and service. The beds were very comfy.
This Best Western is the first we have stayed at in years. We will not be back. It's right beside the interstate (noisy) and the room was not clean. There was even a strange substance on the ceiling. We were not in the room long because we were on the Bourbon Trail but we would never stay there again.
Although they try, this Best Western property is no up to par with other properties of the same price per night. The cleanliness in the high traffic areas is fine however when you look in the corners and move a chair for instance, their is filth everywhere
Got to the hotel late at night and Chris got our room and told where to get something to eat close-by. Clean rooms and breakfast was great! Will be staying here again on future trips. Also close enough to Louisville to take in the sites.
Not the best BW I've stayed at, but for a night, it was sufficient. Some cleanliness issues with the room - desk manager was notified and apologized for my experience. Apparently they're having problems hiring/retaining quality staff. No doggie amenities were provided, but there was plenty of room to walk the dog. Denny's right across the street, breakfast looked like the usual BW breakfast, so that was fine. Easy to find, right off the interstate, but I wasn't troubled by noise. Seemed like a popular place for long-haul big rigs - plenty of parking for them and the lot was full.
This hotel offers a huge truck parking lot. It is an older hotel that is being updated. It is clean and all the stuff in the room works properly. Chris, at the front desk, is amazing. He is always so upbeat and truly enjoys his job. He is so helpful and accommodating.
Obviously this motel is an older motel. The carpeting in the room was not great - not damaged, just low grade. the staff was very nice and the breakfast was okay. The parking lot was very nice with convenient entry provided.
The hotel was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the in room Jacuzzi was a nice treat after 10 hours on the road. Everything worked as it was supposed to. We will stay there again next time we're in the area. Chris was very helpful.
The motel is located near the interstate, but is quiet. The motel location has several restaurants that deliver to the motel. There is also a restaurant across the street that provider's a discounted price when the room key is presented. The beds are comfortable and provide a good night's rest.
A great choice for an overnight stay during our road trip, This hotel is right off the interstate with several restaurant choices in the area. We recommend Cattleman's. I requested a room on first level due to my athletic knees. Our assigned room was on the first floor with close access to the parking lot. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. My husband and I both had a restful sleep, We will definitely consider this a stop again in our future road trip.
We had a diesel truck idling in the the parking lot overnight, the windows were thin it seemed like the sound was right in our room. Room was clean, the housekeeping staff did a great job on the hotel. Tough night sleep, building could use updates.
Great place to stay if going to the Knob Creek Shoot. It is close to restaurants and right off the highway. We have been staying here for years and looks forward to many more years to come. Clean room and good parking.
Sometimes pet friendly hotels or hotel rooms aren't the best. This room was large and comfortable, clean and bright. The rest of the hotel was nice, too. We did not use the pool and the fitness room was closed, but the lobby and breakfast area were very nice.
I was there because the hotel is outside of LOUISVILLE. It was easy to get in and out. Highly recommended to people who really do not like crowd. I will definitely stay this hotel again when I will be that area.
Was glad to see this hotel after driving thru heavy traffic all day. Will OHIO ever finish the Cincinnati bridge (3.5 hour delay)? BW honored my reservation, no problems. (not like other hotel chains I read about)
Best time at this hotel! The staff was super friendly. The whole property was very clean and they had the best breakfast of all hotels I stayed at! The room looked great bed was very comfortable. Defiantly go back next time we're in the area!
This Best Western facility is well maintained and very clean. The location just a few miles south of Louisville Kentucky is a plus avoiding heavy traffic and higher prices. The amenities are good and the breakfast will certainly carry you over until lunch. Full service restaurants are close by too. This facility is a good value also
Very clean room with everything in working order. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows of different firmness. The room temperature was comfortable. Nice staff that was very responsive to questions. Unfortunately, I missed the breakfast but that is a testament to how soundly I slept!
The hotel is old but well kept and clean. Beds were comfy and rooms are good size. The only negative was breakfast. The 'hot' selections were not hot, cold in fact. I prefer a hot breakfast which is why we select facilities offering a hot breakfast. Disappointing.
Tired from travelling 10 hours straight, We decided to pull over and get a little sleep. This 3 star hotel is clean, comfortable and well priced. The staff is friendly. Beds are comfortable and linen is soft. Very impressed!
We found out about this hotel when our daughter moved from Washington State to Mt. Washington, KY. It is clean, clean, clean! Staff is friendly, helpful, and available when needed. We are from North Carolina, and depended on the staff of the hotel for recommendations for barbers, etc, the week of our daughter's wedding. The staff went out of their way to help us, and gave great recommendations. The 24 hour fresh coffee is amazing, and was needed throughout the week. Breakfast was good, and very convenient. We enjoyed our stay, as always, and will stay at this hotel each time we visit our daughter and son in law.
Very clean, older hotel. Night desk clerk, Chris, EXTREMELY friendly and very helpful. Had been driving for 14 hours and needed a place to rest. Breakfast in morning was more than enough and quite good. We would stay again.!
I will not recommend this hotel.I had to stay at this BW reserved by our baseball travel team for a 5 day tournament in Louisville. From all my stays at different hotel chains,I have never been in a hotel chain that demands upfront payment.
This hotel was filthy. Our bathroom was not clean. Floors dirty, hair in floor, tub and walls. The carpets need cleaning. Need to wear shoes to keep your feet clean. Light fixtures were dusty and dirty. Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms. Lobby was fine.
Had to stay in room that was not the one I booked because staff checked me in that afternoon even though I did not arrive until after midnight. Almost was turned away because they could find my reservation but not my room. Staff was helpful, got room that another patron had turned down for unknown reason, quick linen change. Was about asleep when they called and found the room I had booked but was too tired at this point to change rooms. Compensated 1/2 off for inconvenience
Great personnel but rooms are a bit musty and beds not that comfortable. Pool area is nice and location off highway is a plus. Also, a lot of food choices in area and shopping. If they made the beds more comfortable, cleaned the outside of the parking lot area and upgraded the amenities in the rooms, it would immediately get 4 1/2 stars. In the end, the employees do a great job and try their best with what they have. The effort of a very cordial staff makes this hotel better
Even though I live in the same town, I ended up staying here the night after my air conditioner went out & it couldn't be replaced right away. I was desperate for a room, but was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel is since it was renovated. The front desk was very helpful & understanding. The room was nice, with everything you could need in a hotel. Nice TV with cable, wifi, microwave, mini-fridge (that was almost too big for the cabinet it was in). Comfortably laid out. The beds, though quite spacious, were a little stiff for me. Other positives include a great continental breakfast, as well as a discount at the 24-hours Denny's dinner next door if you show your room card. The hotel is in a nice location in Shepherdsville, right by a gas station, & a quick drive to the other restaurants in town. It was very quiet for being next to the interstate. Staff were friendly. And the hotel is dog-friendly.
Despite friendly front desk staff, a welcoming lobby and a pleasant breakfast the next morning, our stay was somewhat spoiled by uncleanliness of the room. We found a half-empty soda bottle and a still gooey plastic tub of what looked like chip dip under one bed skirt (accidently kicked it while tying shoes). Several hairs in bathroom corners and one in tub. After driving hundreds of miles and needing to relax I'm not inclined to fuss over changing rooms. Besides, if one room can be offered like in such condition that speaks volumes about the others. An unfortunate experience..
Clean and beautiful. Great value and in a super spot. Loved the outdoor pool and breakfast was yummy with lots of choices. We will be back! Next to a fun Dennys diner in walking distance for lunch or dinner.
The rooms that contain the whirlpool tubs are very dated and do not appear clean. The tile had some mold around the tub area. The carpet was quite old as well. The whirlpool tub was in the bedroom, not a separated bathroom area. This room was quite dated as evidenced by the bathroom facilities. However, the staff was very friendly. For the price, the room did not meet expectations.
The hotel staff was very friendly upon check in and departure. The hotel was awesome and the fitness center was nice. I would highly recommend this to friends and family. I will definitely come back for another stay.
Overall, this location was fine with the exception of breakfast which left something to be desired. Nearest restaurant was a Classic Denny's and Denny's would be embarrassed by the food, the service and cleanliness of this restaurant.
Great hotel super comfy beds and pillows. Great breakfast and check in was wonderful. Very accommodating, friendly, and a wonderful experience. The shower head was old school with a blast of wonderful hot water. If you like the way it used to be you will love this spotlessly clean hotel.
Room was moist feeling. Carpet was moist feeling. Shower was hard to manage because the water would splash everywhere because the shower curtain would fall back. Outside of building is quite old, and run down looking.
This is what a motel should be. Not a foo foo place. Clean reasonable price and staff that bends over backwards. Best shower heads in the world. Plenty of hot water and super clean. Front desk is super. His name is Chris. You will not be disappointed.
Good rates, clean hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. Lots of families stayed here. It is right off the highway and easily accessible, near restaurants and shopping. I would recommend to anyone asking.
Coming from Wisconsin, we definitely felt out of place. When we stop at Best western last night a friendly smile, and a good warm hearted worker made us feel like we were at home. Very helpful, he took the nervousness away I had. I never left state before so it was nice to have a friendly person help us. He talked to us like friends, not like we were just a customers. I found out this morning his name is Edward. This morning when we were checking out another nice and friendly person helped us out. Her name is Jeanine. I'd come back to this motel! I'd recommend it to anyone going threw the area. Because of those two people. I feel best western is the closest to have at having the home sweet home feeling, even if your out of state. Thank you again Edward, and Jeanine for the help and amazing stay last night.
This hotel was very clean inside and out! Rooms are big and roomy. Asked for extra pillows and we got them no questions asked. We were allowed to check in early which was a huge plus as we had drove all night visited with family for a few hours and wanted to grab a quick nap before heading out for evening festivities. Breakfast was the best I have ever experienced at any hotel. There were two types of eggs, French toast sticks biscuits and gravy sausage links and parties. Toast bagels and pastries. You could also have yogurt cereal or make your own waffle! If you left Hungary it was your own fault. Oh and a first and my favorite they had nutella! Just wish they would have had bananas. Hotel is right off the interstate so easy to find. There is a Danny's diner across the street within walking distance. We wanted to eat there but ran out of time. Plenty of other restaurants around to. I would 100% stay at this hotel when we come back to Kentucky
Location is great. Chris at front desk was wonderful! He was personable and helpful with our late check in. I was a little worried as we drove up because the outside looks dated. I was quickly relieved when we got into the lobby. It is simple but clean. Our room was really the best surprise. It was exceptionally clean. The beds were comfy. Internet worked fine for 4 of us. Breakfast was presented well, but the biscuits and eggs were cold. Overall, very happy. Would stay again if ever in that area.
Good place to stay if you are going to take in some of the distillers on the whiskey trail. Located right off the freeway, so that was nice. Typical Best Western, could really use some updating. Breakfast was nice and staff was pleasant.
The staff was exceptional! We had a "late arrival" check in and was very pleased to be welcomed by friendly, personable, capable and efficient staff members. The rooms were spacious and clean. Small issue with the shower head splashing excessively, but no real problem.
Location is good, easy access and easy to find Close to many attractions and freeways. Pretty dated but clean. Internet was pretty weak on our trip. Mattress and some noise deadening updates would be a great improvement.
Good hotel, good service from the staff, the room was clean even tho it smelled a bit like a smoker had stayed there before us, we fixed the problem with a dryer sheet on the a/c vent, and it didn't bother us anymore, good place to stay a few nights while doing the Kentucky bourbon trail..
Great little place too be just down the road from the Jim Beam Stillhouse. Spend the night and go the next morning. The rooms are nice and internet was decent. It is Ride Along the ramp near the interstate so you do hear some truck noise while you're not in the room but if you have the AC going then you shouldn't hear anything with AC unit running.
Arrived after 11PM and left by 8:30 AM. Average appearance; lobby clean, hall carpet old and worn; staff sociable and talkative; it was an acceptable cheap hotel. Only complaint was very strong cleaning chemical odor. Beds small and hard, I slept well.
This motel is showing its age, but the staff members were pleasant, and my room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast included the usual choices of both cold and hot items (eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc.), but it was distressing to see that all of the utensils and plates were made of environmentally-unfriendly materials (plastic and Styrofoam). There are two computers in the lobby available for guests. Astonishingly, one of them was running Windows XP, a seriously outdated operating system that is vulnerable to all kinds of malware. It had Norton anti-virus loaded on it, but the program expired in January. The other machine, running Windows 7, had no visible anti-virus protection. I wouldn't trust either of those computers for anything that required me to enter a password or any other personal information Caveat emptor.
When traveling in the Bardstown area, the Best Western in Shepherdsville KY, is a great place to stay, this is a plus motel, staff go of there way to make your stay a good one, rooms are very nice, breakfast is very good and right off the interstate.
I was a bit worried when I saw the age of this property but upgrades and renovations have been done fairly well and for an older property it's a nice property offering a good stay. The breakfast was very good and well maintained. The Jacuzzi in the room was in good condition and worked very well. We would stay at this property again.
I was driving from through Louisville when I decided to stop at this hotel just because it was right off the highway. As I was writing this review, I saw a lot of negative comments about the rooms. My room may have gotten a renovation or something, because it was very clean and comfortable. Location: Right off the expressway and next to a Denny's. Gas station is right there, too. Staff: Was very nice and helpful. Parking: Easy. Plenty of spaces close to the side doors and rooms. Room: Room was very clean and had all the basics. The refrigerator worked well. The television had a great picture and a good selection of basic cable with Showtime. My room was right on the highway side, but I didn't feel like the highway was particularly loud, so I'm assuming the soundproofing is pretty good. Air-conditioning worked well, too. I feel like bed comfort is always a little subjective, but I found it very comfortable and got a good night's sleep. Bathroom: Clean with good water pressure. WIFI: Fast and connected immediately. Breakfast: Pretty basic for places like this. Eggs and sausage, biscuits and gravy, bagels, cereal, yogurt, and a couple kinds of juices. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
No problems. The room was decent and quiet for the most part.. I would stay again and could also recommend to others. Parking was sufficient and well lit in the parking lot. Also I didn't have to walk far to get to my car.
The room was not up to standard. The carpet was dirty and full of holes. I thought that Best Western would have improved there rooms by now. The people that worked there were very nice. The bed was ver comfortable.
Easy to find right off the interstate. Free breakfast with the usual fare of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cold cereals, various carbs and make what you want waffles, apple juice and orange juice with coffee and milk. That is the best part. The beds are hard a a brick and I have NEVER stayed in a hotel where the bottom sheet does not even cover the bed pad! Pillows are old and super lumpy, but the front did have an extra blanket when asked. The bathroom tub needs replacing and although there are at least 10 coats of paint it needs another coat on the door to cover the rust. It seems this s a very old hotel that has been renovated. One of the two computers in the front lobby was not working. Also, maybe rethink the way you have the computers in the lobby facing the public. Maybe allow some privacy to those who are using them. The work out room was closed due to renovations, would be great to let your customers know either on your website or when calling for reservations. The pool is outside and was also closed. I usually put Best Westerns just above the Motel 6 establishments. However, as more and more hotels are not accepting dogs we had little choice. It is well above my experiences with Super 8 or Motel 6, BUT I would say if 90% of your amenities are down for renovations or other reasons the prices should reflect that inconvenience.
We arrived late due to a traffic hold up and our room was waiting for us. It was immaculate and comfortable. Our 2 cats settled right down and we were surprised when we slept later than planned. The breakfast had more choices than more expensive hotel chains. The price was reasonable and all the personnel was very friendly. Thank you Best Western Shepherdsville - we'll be back!
We've stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions. It really is the best value for the Louisville area. Less than 20 minutes from downtown, where a comparable room would cost double. There are plenty of dining choices available to fit any wallet and pallet. The staff is great and the facility is definitely above average. Unlike other hotels, the hot water is hot and the water pressure is strong.
Located just off the HWY with easy off & on, but far enough to be quiet. Our room was clean & comfortable. A Denny's 24 hr restaurant is located just across the parking lot. The Hotel parking lot is well lighted, and has ample parking if you are pulling a trailer. The hotel breakfast has a good variety, if you go away hungry it is your own fault.
We have stayed at this hotel many times before and have always enjoyed our stay. The staff is VERY outgoing and friendly not to mention professional. Room was super clean with plenty of towels for showering. We will definitely be returning...as our son lives in the area and we do visit 2-3 times a year.
Great stay again. Rooms are clean, desk clerks are always helpful. Breakfast has plenty of choices. Best part they are pet friendly! I frequent this hotel three or four times a year, and I've never been disappointed.
We were on a southern roadtrip to Nashville and New Orleans and decided to visit the Jim Beam distillery. This was about the closest hotel to the distillery and we didn't want to have to drive far. Just a basic hotel for a quick night, but the rooms were clean, the breakfast was good. The best thing about this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. When I checked in, the gentleman at the front desk (can'r remember name, sorry) was the friendliest front desk clerk that I have ever met. Shook my hand, recommended local food and said if I needed anything that he was on the desk til 11 and would take care of it. Every person that we came across went out of their way to say hello. Average hotel made awesome by a great staff.
Stayed here for a trade show in Louisville KY. Hotel staff was very nice, room was clean and location was convenient. Only negative is the beds were very uncomfortable. Breakfast was good and parking was as well. Again, the bed was very uncomfortable...
Jeanine has always been very nice the whole team keep the place very clean and very nice to stay at even when I have to do my 2034 hour restart it's quiet and I get my rest and helpful Chris is friendly too.
The parking lot was closed off and being re tarred but they made it easy by assigning us a room near an exit. the rooms have been remodeled, there is a small business area, and the breakfast was good for the type of lodging. the rooms had older furniture and a desk that was fitted into a corner and hard to access and more of a table. the bed and pillows were ok and the fit and finish of the remodel better than expected as it is an old building and has been done over many times. for the price a decent stay a good value.
We had no problems with this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even when we informed them we had to check out a day early. Breakfast was better than most hotels with eggs, sausage, biscuit & gravy, waffles, plus the other usual grab & go breakfast items. The bed was kind of uncomfortable, but that is the only thing I have to complain about. I would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
Hotel was very clean, and the staff were all very friendly. I spent two nights at this hotel and would stay again if I had to return to this area. The breakfast was very good and the eating area was clean, which means a lot to me
I was on my way home to Ohio and booked a room at this property on priceline. I chose BW, b/c they are completely pet friendly with no pet fee. Thank you so much! I have two dogs who enjoyed their stay :) The lady at check in was friendly and helpful. My room was very clean, had a large bathtub, and the bed was comfy. I also got a fridge and microwave. I sort of also chose this location, b/c they had a fitness center. I was disappointed that the treadmill didn't work and the Schwinn Airdyne has something wrong with the right pedal. The universal gym was fully functioning. There was enough room to do some jump roping too. The breakfast was pretty good..they had hot items and cereal. There isn't really any place to take your dog for a long walk. We just did a big loop around hotel. The wifi was fast :)
The hotel is being remodeled and the entrance and lobby was beautiful. The artwork on the walls were noticeable and pleasing to the eye. The breakfast room is the nicest I have ever seen....ample seating and very nice selections which were well stocked. The pool had just been renovated and was not yet open for use. The room was very clean and provided everything I needed. I prefer a softer bed but it was comfortable just the same. WIFI which is always nice. Ice close by and fresh brewed coffee in the lobby at 10:30 p.m. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. We will use this property again when traveling North or South!
The front desk staff were polite & professional. The room looked nice upon entering but there were some issues we noticed later. Our view was of the side of a shed. The pool was outside & closed. The tub didn't drain properly which left us standing in inches of water by the time our showers were done. There was an extension cord that plugged into a lamp & the wall. We tried to plug a phone into the extension cord but it shorted out the lamp when we picked it up. There were 3 small pillows on each bed. One pillow just wasn't enough. The outer bedding was scratchy & not comfortable at all. But the bedding & room were clean. Breakfast was sub-par, the waffles tasted awful & the meat was dry. For $122 I was hoping for a better experience.
Very nice stay. No complaints about the room. Let them know about the tub diverter valve when we checked out but it really didn't affect the shower, just came out of the tub faucet at the same time. Shower might have been a little stronger if it were working better, but it was fine as it was. Chris at the front desk is extremely polite and very helpful when it comes to local questions you might have. He's very knowledgeable as he's been in the area for many years. Also, if you drive a truck, yes, they have REAL truck parking. Not like some places you call and they say they do and when you get there they really don't. LOTS of truck parking here! AND, the lot isn't covered in holes that you could lose your truck in. Very nice parking right across the street! Chris says there's even some more at the end of the building, so if you're in a truck don't be afraid of this place! Denny's restaurant across the street and a discount on food if you're checked in at the hotel. Walk across the highway to other places to eat and shop.
Everything was as advertised. Clean and comfortable room for a great price! Staff was very friendly at check in and also recommended a few restaurants in the area. I used the fitness center as well which was fairly basic but worked!
Good hotel for a one nighter. Hotel staff was courteous at check in. It does smell a little funny. Rooms were cleanish and was at a nice location. The beds were huge. I probably wouldn't stay here again but only because of the smell.
This was a nice hotel with comfortable rooms, a beautiful lobby and a huge breakfast room. We enjoyed our stay and used the pool, as well. The pool is nice -- located next to the expressway, but still a very nice pool. There is a BP station nearby and a Denny's. The laundry was an added bonus.
Great for business travel. Warm friendly staff, good breakfast, workout room and a outdoor pool. You will find some good local restaurants in the area. Close to many attractions like bourbon trail tour and 20 min from downtown Louisville.
This was the cleanest and most traveler friendly room that we had in our trip across the country. They also welcome small pets, and our kitty was very comfortable. Beds were great and all amenities actually worked. ex. easy access to internet
The Best Western in Shepherdsville is the halfway point for my NC and WI family so we plan a visit every year. We've stayed exclusively at this hotel for at least 6 years because of your value, location and amenities. The staff is always pleasant and goes out of their way to make sure our visit is great.
This was a very nice hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. We had no issues with the facility. The location was easy to find and we had good access to nearby highways that allowed us to explore the area at ease.
Clean room, comfortable bed and good location. The staff was great when we checked in and gave good recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was very good. It was convenient to the Bourbon Trail. It was easy to access the WIFI.
All i can say is awesome hotel. Room was clean. House keeping very helpful and professional. Chris at the front desk was very polite, professioal, and knowledgable of the area. Trip advisor needs to update their site. The bar and resturant is not open now. The breakfast is what is expected. Hot and cold items. We will definetly stay again next time we visit.
Staff at the Best Western Shepherdsville go out of their way to make sure that guests are satisfied with their stay. We stayed here 4 years ago, and were not so impressed. But, WOW, have they "upped their game"!! Service and friendliness were awesome, and the facility, although still needing some renovations, has been nicely upgraded since our last stay. My family will definitely return when staying in the Louisville area.
Absolutely the BEST Best Western I've ever stayed at! Staff was very professional. Very Nice rooms. Breakfast was varied hot and delicious. Pool was clean, with plenty of tables and chairs. The whole motel had an outstanding atmosphere.
Our Harley chapter stayed here during our Bourbon Trail ride. It was awesome! We were treated with respect and courtesy from the start. Chris, at the front desk, went over and above his normal duties to help ensure our stay was pleasant and enjoyable. We book a block of rooms when we do our weekend rides, and this is the first hotel that kept our rooms together instead of spreading us around. Only complaint was the bed was pretty hard.
My husband and I booked this hotel before we headed to Nashville for the weekend. We arrived about 8:30 pm and when we walked into the lobby we both smelled state cigarette smoke but figured it was from the large gathering of people smoking near the lobby door. We were greeted by Chris who gave us some recommendations for dinner and some history of the town. We thought it was weird that we had to sign a waiver that we wouldn't smoke in the room ($100.00 fine if we did)even tho we don't smoke and it was SUPPOSED to be a non smoking hotel. We went up to our room, 221 and the first thing we noticed was the floral smell as soon as we walked in. We dropped our bags, checked out the huge room, set the a/c and headed to dinner before they closed. We got back to the hotel about 10:15 and saw Chris again. We thanked him for the dinner recommendation and headed to our room wanting to take a shower and go to bed since we planned to leave early. Even tho it was after 10 there was a lot of people milling around especially by the doors smoking. About 2 am I woke up coughing, nose stuffed up and could taste the stale cigarette taste in the back of my throat. I could smell the cigarettes in my hair and pjs. Every time the a/c kicked on the smell got worse. In the morning we saw cigarette burns throughout the room, on the tub, floor! Taking a shower again didn't help since the towels smelled too. When we checked out I told the front desk about the problem and that we better not be charged the fine. She said okay but there was nothing she could do and that housekeeping would have noticed the smell when they cleaned it the day before. I told her the smell is in the comforter and she said that was impossible since that was just washed that day. I told her the smell is old, and that the floral smell was a coverup for it. As soon as I got in my vehicle I tried calling Best Western but the feedback line didn't open until 9 am mountain time. We stopped at a store and I had to get some nasal spray, throat lozenges and Frebreeze. I called the first chance I got and at first the girl seemed very concerned. She then put me on hold and when she finally came back on she said she spoke to Chris who remembered us. He told her that if we would have complained he would have moved us into a room that another couple moved out of because they smelled a strong odor of paint. REALLY?!!! Yeah maybe a paint smell would have been better than stale cigarettes but it was 2 am when I started not feeling good. She basically said that there was nothing she could about it. I told her that the smell was old, it's in the carpets, the couch, everywhere. She said the hotel has been smoke free for 20 years. In Nashville we ended up stopping at a laundry mat and washing all our clothes because of the smell. I'm a platinum card member with BW and am highly disappointed with this hotel and then the POOR customer service I received afterwards. I know I will NEVER stay at this location again. I may have to turn in my card too because of the customer service I received. I thought I was staying at some low life chain instead of BW. The photo I attached is of the cigarette burn on the tub
On a road trip with family we decided to stop and sleep for the night. There were a number of hotels off the exit so we basically decided from the exterior appearance. It was neat, quiet, and didn't appear outdated. For little over a hundred dollars we had a very clean, modern, safe feeling, and comfortable room. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
This Hotel could be upgraded on appearance like carpet in hall ways of rooms and in the rooms. Painting in bathrooms ,upgrade on ac equipment in rooms better ways of getting to rooms like more elevators for access
The whole stay wasn't bad after a tremendous amount of issues were resolved. First night was horrible with frequent internet disconnections, kids running up and down the halls pounding on guests doors to the obnoxious odor you smell upon entering the room. The second night was just as bad with finding a note from some weird person who claimed that got aroused from watching me sleep. All instances were reported, In my opinion only three staff members went above and beyond to provide outstanding service with Jeanine (Front Desk) even offering to come back in after she had clocked out if I requested her assistance with something. Sarah and Sherry in housekeeping deserve a big applause as well for recleaning my room a couple times because I felt it wasn't satisfactory, they didn't complain like most would have and even carried on a rather comical conversation with me while doing their job. Bravo you three.
Our one night stay at Best Western Shepherdsville was pleasantly without worry or bother. Room was clean, king bed very comfortable and the hot breakfast was good to wake up to. I was grateful for the gluten free options available at breakfast! We always stay at Best Western and enjoyed Shepherdsville as much as we expected and hoped.
the hotel was clean and updated with a refrigerator and microwave. comfortable beds, nice breakfast and a helpful staff. Check in and check out was fast and simple. I always stay at this best western on my way to Alabama
We stayed here at Best Western Shepherdsville, because could not get rooms in Bardstown, have stayed here before, and is a good place to stay. The staff are always very nice, nice size rooms and clean. The breakfast is good, you have several choices of breakfast items. Motel right off the interstate.
Good Morning Doug (General Manager)- I wanted to pass on an experience I recently had at the Best Western Plus South in Shepherdsville, KY. My family & I were traveling home to Michigan from a week-long visit in Alabama. During the week, my kids came down sick with head colds & then as they were starting to feel better, my wife came down with it towards the end of our visit. On the way back to Michigan on Friday, July 8- having driven the entire day on my own, my kiddos were finally starting to pass out for the night around 10 p.m. & with another 6+ hours to drive we had decided to call it a night & I started keeping an eye open for a place to stay as we approached Louisville. All I can say is that I am SO VERY HAPPY I chose the Best Western, but for 1 very specific reason- Chris! By & By, the hotel is like any other, but when I walked into lobby a young man came jogging up to the front counter, apologizing for the wait (which was all of 20 – 30 seconds tops). I asked about a room- he had 1 available, but warned me of a baseball tournament that was happening that weekend & lots of kids running around raising hell might not be the best situation for a good night's sleep. I told him I'd take that gamble. Chris was beyond amazing- incredibly personable, helpful & informative. You definitely have a top notch employee in Chris & I hope that Best Western International understands what kind of quality person they have & gives him every resource to one day take the reins & move up the ladder of the company. Regards- Andrew
Traveling to the louisville area on buisness every week I stay at this best western every week, sometimes 2 or 3 nights per week. One of the cleanest, most comfortable rooms you could ever hope for and as for the staff, there is simply no better. Always friendly and helpfull, from the front desk right up to the management. As a rewards member i was missing some rewards points for recent stays. jeanine at the front desk said she would look into it for me. She went as far as pulling my stays for the full year and made sure i was credited back for my missing stays. How many people would do that?? NOT MANY! Thanks jeanine!!! Your the greatest!!?
This hotel is very easy to get to. Very comfortable beds, plush towels. Breakfast room was a bit chilly. The breakfast was plentiful, well presented. Chris - night desk clerk was very helpful answering any question we had. It was close to the routes we needed for our day trips - Mammoth Cave, Louisville and Bardsville. I recommend this hotel.
Starting from Reception, till room condition and cleanness , everything was worst. I wont recommend anybody to this hotel. It is a truck driver few hours stay kind of hotel not for business or leisure people
This was a good hotel to stay at except for breakfast. They have a cut off time of 9:30, which is way to early especially on a weekend. Then they couldn't keep up with the people that were there, and were constantly running out of stuff and people had to wait. Plus the milk for cereal was half frozen.
No internet. Room smells. Bathroom had a dirty toilet. Glad it's only for the night. Front desk attempted to be helpful but came off just creepy. I don't think I could have had any longer of a walk down the first floor hallway to get to my room. The key reader is ancient and took me five minutes to get the key register. Pool is being renovated. Just a side note.
I stay at this Best Western traveling from Michigan to Alabama. It never disappoints. Chris is a great desk clerk. He makes sure your stay is the best it can be. The breakfast area is clean, and has lots of choices. This hotel is a very clean pet friendly hotel.
Stayed one night in June, 2016. We stayed in the King room. Room was very large and spacious, much more than most hotels we have stayed. It was very clean, which was most important for me. Breakfast was good with several items available. I would recommend this hotel.
service manager - great 1st floor room Great every year we go here(June), always take good care of us .Best Western is my go-to brand. Queen beds and pillows are very comfortable. Family loves it too...and they always are accommadating to my kids and grandkids...
This is a very old hotel. The rooms are small, very worn, and smell. The hotel is billed as being non-smoking but smoke filled the reception area and the halls. This is a dingy old hotel. Avoid it! There are much better hotels in the area.
We have stayed here a couple of times because it is easy to get to and several things around there to see. Places to eat are near as well. The staff (Chris) was very helpful in giving directions and information about the area.
Having been here previously, I was encouraged to return...Hmmm somethings we consider! Here, now under new management...the old things and dilemnas remain intact. New faces does not change the paces. This place is dated and is in need of some upgrades, yet all working personnel are aware and readily appologize and yet the problems remain....time to place our head and money some where else!
We were on a motorcycle and this was a great hotel for a 2 night stay. The staff were all great and the hotel was very quiet and peaceful. It is very convenient to Louisville without all of the traffic and noise. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice place to stay.
Great place for an overnight stay midpoint between Chicago and Altanta. Stayed here many times several years ago when the hotel had a karaoke lounge and there was not much else in close proximity. Now there are quite a few dining and shopping options nearby, and the hotel is very conviently located off the highway. The lounge has been replaced by a nice breakfast area, and the hotel is now smoke free, very clean, and comfortable. When I mentioned that I missed the karaoke lounge, the manager of the hotel took the time to write me a personal email to thank me, and explain that they hated to see the lounge go as well, but it had been losing money for years. Very nice staff there.
Very clean and breakfast was good. Excellent place to stay for the value. Plenty of eating places close by. Louisville was minutes away. Plenty of sights to see like the Louisville Slugger Museum, Church Hill Downs, and much much moor.
The hotel is a convenient place for business travel. It is located near pleanty of local amenities and there are enough fast food restaurants around to never go hungry. The room was clean and quiet and the staff was courteous and friendly. It was a warm day and apparently the service staff had decided it would be a good idea to cool things down...you could have hung meat in my room- which was fine...until icicles started to form on the end if my nose!! The breakfast was a little better than most and a good way to start the day. All in all it was a successful stay and I will be back.
This was a perfect stay after going to races at Churchill Downs and heading to Nashville. Breakfast was filling with a good variety. Location near Louisville at a fair price was perfect. It is easy to find near the freeway but not noisy!
I was staying here as I was attending a 3 day trade show in Louisville at the Fair and Expo center. I like to stay away from the crowds of Louisville property's during these show. This is my first stay at this property, and if the need comes up again, I will stay here again. I choose a double queen bed room. Even though I travel solo, the extra bed gives me a place to sit all my bags, as most of the places I have stayed in don't have enough places to set your bags and allow you to rummage through them. Place was clean, no smell of somebody who smoked in the room. Plenty of towels, and the usual sample toiletries were available. Breakfast was available, but I never ate it. I left early (7am) and got in around 9pm each day. This facility has plenty of free parking available, and a Denny's across the street. You get 10% off if your eat there. I didn't, as I ate my evening meals in Louisville.
This was a very clean and nice places to stay the help was the best and very friendly and helpful .Very clean and nice breakfast room and well stocked . I would stay there again when in the area. The location was very easy to the main highway and easy to get in and out of. Plenty of parking and very safe .
Just stayed for one night - convenient off the highway and plenty of places to eat are around this exit, too. But I'm not sure why this is considered a Best Western "Plus". The room was honestly a bit small. Nice furniture, but small room. Could also hear the folks in the hallway. Decent breakfast - they had hot chafing dishes with scrambled eggs, sausage, etc., but it wasn't great - just OK. Coffee wasn't anything you'd want a second cup of. It was like it was ... almost ... a "Plus". They did have an exercise room; and after the pool renovation is complete - that would be a good option, seemingly - but it is currently closed - believe it is scheduled to open in June, 2016. Wasn't bad - just was a little less than what we anticipated.
Loved the hotel as it was very, very clean and quiet. Beds were great and it was definitely the cleanest hotel room I stayed in,,In fact, I've stayed in 5 star hotels that were not as clean! The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if traveling through the area in the future. They have free wifi and includes hot breakfast.
I've stayed in quite a few Best Western Hotels and I have to say that for the most part you can depend on having a comfortable bed, clean room and a very nice hot breakfast before you hit the road again.
What a great hotel, a Best Western Plus, however we did not receive the usual welcome gift bag. The breakfast room is very large and well stocked with the usual BW plus items. We would stay here again if in the area. Close to fuel and food
Spent two nights here. Quiet & great location. Close to all amenities. Friendly & helpful staff. Clean rooms. Includes breakfast & free wifi. Right off freeway as well. Originally booked for one night but should have stayed three. I would recommend this location
Rooms very clean and quiet. Breakfast excellent value. Hotel Staff very helpful and friendly. Good location off the highway. Would recommend for business and family. Pool is currently under construction for the fitness centre is open.
Staff was wonderful. Rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Location to Louisville was awesome. Breakfast was great. We would definitely stay here again. We have already recommended hotel to neighbors who will be attending the Derby next year.
Front desk staff was very courteous, welcoming and helpful, especially with restaurant recommendations. Our king non smoking room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet at night. Breakfast offered a good selection. We would definitely stay again if we pass through Shepherdsville again.
I was not impressed with this particular best western. The staff at the front desk were great upon check in. The hotel looked run down and when we got to the room we discovered a bath room that had not been cleaned I don't think. It had literally a layer of dirt and hairs on the back of the bath tub and the floor did not look clean either. The room was adequate but looked dated. Breakfast was good the next day and there was a large area to eat. If you have stayed at a best western the breakfasts are all pretty much the same. For the money we paid to stay here it was not worth the price and I would not stay here again I don't think.
This hotel has been a stop over as we travel south to the Gulf coast for a vacation. Just a place to sleep. Pretty standard Best Western. Probably built in 70's-80's range. Has had the usual refreshments hotels do over the years, but you can still tell it's older. Not sure what makes it a "Plus", I thought those were the newer BW's. Indoor entry which is obviously more secure. Friendly staff at the counter. Both years we stayed there the counter clerk actually knew how to handle Best Western gift cards at check in. I find this is actually rare across many hotel locations and brands. Standard breakfast in the morning which was good and well staffed. There is a Denny's next door if you like a better breakfast selection. Right off the highway so EZ off EZ on. My only negative comment really was the price. We paid $150 (including taxes). Not sure if they were tagging people because it was a spring break week or if there was some special event going on nearby. It is not a $150 per night hotel. If I didn't get the gift cards for free, would not of paid that kind of money to stay here.
We stayed here for 1 night on our way back to Michigan. Good location off the interstate. Our room was on the 1st floor. The carpet could use a cleaning. The sink was separate from the bathroom which we like, but the sink had a musty, foul odor to it. Otherwise, we had no complaints.
1. Room had odd chemical odor and windows don't open for fresh air. Couldn't stop thinking the smell was from insecticide. 2. Very overpriced and they charge more at the desk than on line. The manager said corporate sets the rate & corporate said the hotel does, but could care less about it. Very rude.
Our family, consisting of 3 kids ages 2,5,and 8, my wife and I, and her parents stayed here on April 2nd. The rooms were slightly above average, and the staff was awesome. Chris at the front desk was extreamly professional. He made sure that we knew where to park to avoid a long walk, and also helped to entertain our kids as we unloaded Janie in the continental breakfast room was a great host. The breakfast spread was far above average, clean, spacious, well stocked. Janie treated you like you were family, and wanted to make sure that you got your fill! They all went above and beyond to make sure our stay was all it needed to be. We would definitely stay again. Great location, just off the exit, with plenty of places to eat near by if necessary.
Awesome place to stay. My wife & I have stayed in this hotel multiple times. We will stay there every time I have to go to Louisville to see my oncologist. It's always clean and the staff is very professional.
Within this hotel chain, there's three (3) levels; this one being the middle, the plus level. Once inside the lobby, things were standard, yet tastily designed for this level. The rooms are quite large, and well portioned. Here, I was given a room with a table and two chairs, a separate desk within a nook, and also a reading area with its own chair and light. More importantly a std., sized couch with coffee table...all well laid out without being cramped or overtly stuffed. My thought is this being a real repeat for me. In the event you are within the area, Do stop in, relax and rest a bit.
Spent two nights at this property - room very clean and staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast attendant went out of her way to make outstanding breakfast. Check in and out were quick and efficient. I would highly recommend.
When I first pulled up to the hotel, I really wondered if I had chosen the right place for my stay. But when I walked into my room, I realized I was in the perfect hotel. It was spotless! The bedding was attract and made to look very appealing. It was also very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel!
We were just passing through on our way south. The rooms were clean. The staff was extremely friendly. The price was good. There was also a large continental breakfast included. Overall, the experience was better than expected for a 3 star hotel.
Our family used this hotel as a midnight out so on our trip from Milwaukee to Atlanta. Our stay was only 8 hours, but I would definitely stay again for a similar purpose. The midnight staff was extremely courteous and hospitable. The morning breakfast was very good, and saved us a few bucks before getting back on the road. The room was satisfactorily clean. And the rate for two queen beds, with a pet, was reasonable. I would recommend for a similar stay for friends and family.
Everything about this hotel was great! The front desk staff (Chris) was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and fully loaded like larger hotels....refrigerator, microwave, free wi-fi and an excellent free breakfast. Nothing disappointed us in this rate friendly hotel!
Just stayed at this motel for one night and it met our expectations in every area. It was clean, all employees were friendly and the bed was very comfortable. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Continental breakfast was also a plus with a good variety offered.
Clean enough, friendly staff. No indoor pool or gathering area for groups so we asked to sit in the breakfast room & they obliged. We were there for a volleyball tournament with some down time in the evening and next morning so we wished there was an indoor pool as it was raining & a pool would've made it more enjoyable to hang around the hotel.
I have stayed at this best Western for 1 to 3 nights per week for the last 10 years and when I say home away from home that's an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! I am an owner-operator and haul furniture to Louisville every week. I am always greeted with a smile and a genuine desk clerk who always seems interested in how my day was. Whether it's discussing a good book with Dave at night or joking with Jeanine in the morning before I head out for the day it means more than they realize. My room is always perfect and spotless and when I say my room I mean just that. They know I like to stay in the same room and 99.9 percent of the time they have it saved for me. Everyone at this place, and I mean everyone from the maintanence guys to the manager and even the owner has always taken time.to stop and talk with me about how my stay was or heck just to chat about whatever. If they ever shut down I guess I'll just have to retire!! Thank you to Doug and the whole gang at the BW for making a not so easy career just a little easier!!!!!
My wife and I were returning home from Biloxi,MS. and stayed here overnight and found the hotel to be nice. The area is near I-65 and several eateries in this area. The staff were pleasant and willing to answer questions about the area and the rooms clean. The breakfast in the morning was good and got us on our way again.......would stay here again.
Very clean rooms, excellent staff and centrally located fo business and pleasure. Kart Country is a must! Excellent breakfast every morning. Front desk and housekeeping were very friendly and did a great job on cleaning the room.
Had to book a room here due to inclement weather. Night clerk was efficient and friendly. Clean room and comfortable bed with microwave and refrigerator provided. Would stay here again. Great location with several restaurants.
Very nice hotel, house keeping is very nice the whole staff is more then helpful, the entire staff is great, especially Vickie in the Lounge, room's are very clean and comfortable, the bathroom is sparkling clean, beds are very comfortable, Denny's restaurant will deliver to your room and you get 15% off, it has been a great 3 day relaxing experience. Will definitely stay here again.
I stayed at this hotel for one night while driving home. It was a long day of driving in the rain and it was so welcoming to have a bright smile and friendly accommodating person at the front desk to make me feel welcome. The room was comfortable and it helped to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room and the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was good quality food and the breakfast room comfortable. Great stay!
We arrived late and were all exhausted. Got great sleep here (which is not easy for us, we have a young child). Slept so late, we missed the free breakfast, but the hotel is right by a Denny's and the hotel gives you a discount there.
We stopped for one night while passing through and had a great experience. The male employee at the desk was over the top polite, efficient and helpful. The room appeared to be newly remodeled and very clean. The breakfast buffet had a vast selection of foods and the eating area was large enough to accommodate large groups. Check-out was easy and flawless.......... A great place to stay for sure!
Very comfortable bed and room for under $100. Property and hallways are a bit run down, but the hotel staff are helpful and sweet. Right off the freeway, easy to access. Free breakfast and fitness center are nice touches.
We stayed here for one night passing through from Florida back to Michigan. The check in staff was super friendly, after our 10 hour drive. Chris was very helpful when we asked where a local steakhouse was. The hotel is right off the highway, which was convenient, gas stations are nearby, as well as food. The rooms are a little outdated, so we felt that the hot tub suite was a little pricey. The hot tub in the room, is a big whirlpool tub, it will fit 2 people. The jets are set low, all at one level. It was okay, but not really worth the extra money for the room. The breakfast was good, there were many options available, both hot foods and cold foods. The staff there was also friendly. The internet, we found, if you left the hotel, you needed to re-log into once you came back into your room, just a small detail. The check out staff was not quite as friendly as the check in staff, but was still pleasant. Overall, it was an okay place to stay. If I stayed again, I would not pay extra for the hot tub room.
This hotel is in the perfect spot for us coming home from FL. Chris who checked us in was super nice. It was clean and comfortable. It was very close to many restaurants for dinner. The breakfast was good. The only issue was that it is very close to I-65 and even though we faced the parking lot we could hear traffic.
Good location if you are on I 65. Lots of fast food places and cheap gas prices. Great lounge on right at the hotel with friendly people and a very nice happy hour Mon thru Fri.You can also order food from Dennys that they will bring to you with a 15% discount. Rooms were just ok. Maybe a little update and a good cleaning would help. Nothing much in the area.
I knew we were in for trouble with this hotel when I made the reservation. The woman who took my reservation was not interested in being polite or helpful. I booked two rooms for the Christmas vacation and was assured they accepted pets. What I wasn't told was you can't leave your pet in your room when you go out. Who ever heard of a place where your pet couldn't stay behind? They said it was a noise issue, there wasn't another car in the parking lot, who was going to hear if my dog barked for a moment? Second problem was they didn't offer either maid service or anything other then a rudimentary breakfast during the holidays. I was paying full price for two rooms and getting none of the services expected at a hotel. I was never informed of any of these things when I made my reservations. Needless to say we checked out immediately and went across the street where we were treated to everything you would expect from a hotel. Best western has lost a customer for life over this.
Very Clean and helpful staff decorated beautifully for Xmas. The staff was having an Xmas party when we arrived and the person who checked us in never mentioned that the Denny's Diner next store had 20% off with our room key. That would have been nice to mention but he was a temporary employee because of the party. Would definitely stay in this hotel again.
Nice clean and comfortable hotel with a helpful and friendly staff that make your stay very pleasant. They have a great breakfast and get you a nice 15% discount at the Denny's Diner across the street, Plenty of restaurants and shopping very close. Much better prices than going into Louisville, but just a short drive up the Interstate. It is also truly Pet Friendly with no additional fee. I always enjoy my stay here.
The clerk at the desk was friendly and professional. Room layout very nice with sink separate from toilet/bathroom and clean. convenient location to expressway. Hot breakfast was very much appreciated.
Stayed here on an overnight trip, had a late check in, the desk clerk was friendly. Rooms were comfortable and not horribly priced. Just a bit noisy on the traffic side. They had a typical hotel breakfast in the morning with a nice selection of food and a clean eating area. I would stay here again if I ever travel that way again.
Well-kept, well-managed, well-located. Definitely one of the better BW properties we have used. The breakfast room was large and well-provisioned with both hot items and the normal continental fare. Clean room with nice beds and linens. Bathroom not luxurious but clean and very adequate. Would recommend on every level.
Wonderful, immaculate, warm friendly staff that went out of their way to make the stay great.....which they did. The rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was yummy with many choices and most of all sparkling clean at all times. Wonderful experience.
This is a nice place to stay in this area. So many places allow smoking which is really disgusting and our room had no foul odors. The room was clean with the sink and vanity outside the bathroom which is convenient when sharing with your spouse. Beds were a little too firm but we were still able to sleep with some pillows tucked here and there. The pillow selection was also nice, from soft low volume to fluffy and firm.
was a nice clean place. I cant complain it seems like most of these hotels are good. I always stay in best westerns when they are close and have truck parking. As a driver its nice to have a clean room and a clean shower
Not only did our room smell like smoke from the moment we walked in ( they may you sign a waiver stating you have to pay $100 if it smells like smoke when you leave), the jacuzzi was filthy, there were cobwebs on the ceiling, then I found blood and urine stains on the white comforter. I was so mad I marched the comforter all the way down to the front desk and well you can imagine where it went from there. They didn't even have another comforter for us for the night. They gave us some very thin wool blanket big enough for a twin size bed and I had to ask for a second one. I asked for fresh sheets to change the bed linens as I figured they were dirty and the lady wasn't going to give them to me. She even went as fas as to tell me that people like me the one who complained only wanted money off and that they were never happy and were just after a discount and didn't want to pay their bill. I told her I would happily pay full price, but I expect to get what I am pay for and I definitely don't expect to be in a room that definitely hasn't even been cleaned since the last guest only trash taken out and bed made. Well I am paying bills tonight and look at credit card statements and notice that they charged my personal card $205 two different times and the shop card $151 once. My personal card was used to reserve the room in April and wasn't supposed to even be on file so I wonder how they even got the number to charge it. Of course when I call they tell me to call and talk to such and such between 9 and 3. I am so fed up with this hotel
W e were planning on staying in Bardstown , but no rooms and this BW was only 20 miles north of Bardstown and worked real good. The motel was easy to get to right off I 65, motel looks nice, better inside and staff were very nice, rooms were good size. Breakfast was very good, had several choices and lots of room.
Desk staff first rate. Cleaning staff terrible. Hotel condition is good. Room is quiet. Not worth the price though. Bed like a trampoline. There was a special event near there and the rate was jacked up beyond the value.
Good Hotel, just off interstate. Parking good even for big rigs. Good choice of eating, but have to drive back over interchange to shopping center. We ate at Cattlemans Resturant. Very good. Plenty of gas stations also.
This is is a clean safe motel close to the interstate which I would not hesitate to stay in again. I recommend the bottom floor. The complimentary breakfast was satisfactory. The front desk person was quite friendly.
Sorry but we were disappointed in this property. Our room was very clean but the hallway carpets were dirty, decor drab, and the lobby smelled smoky. The breakfast room was very large which was nice but the girl working had trouble keeping up with the guests; she needs help! On a positive note, management was responsive to our concerns so hopefully things will change. The location is excellent, on the far outskirts of greater Louisville. Very good price.
First, there was a strange odor in the lobby and room hallway; not an appealing smell and not a disinfectant smell. Room had it too, but went away when we turned on the a/c. We reserved a K room. The bed had a visible "hammock style" to it, so we asked if it was possible to move. Front desk employee was very understanding and kind and moved us to a K/Jacuzzi room (the bed looked marginally better...it was OK for one night). So we had an opportunity to see two rooms.....carpets were stained in both rooms. Curtains are used for closet doors. Shower/toilet rooms are very tiny and sink with small counter area is located directly across the room from the shower/toilet room door. The jacuzzi room's tiled floor section was very, very sticky. Shoes were required to walk on it. Internet was good. Having a fridge and microwave in room was nice. Breakfast room was very spacious and foods displayed nicely. This was the 4th BW we had stayed in on a 6 night roadtrip, and the rooms were the least appealing.
Stayed here for business. Offers all of the basic amenities and has a nice bar. If you have the choice I would recommend staying at one of the other Best Westerns in Louisville. They are usually cheaper and more updated. This hotel is near a couple of restaurants but otherwise located in a rural area thats 30 minutes from the city. Hotel does have a really good breakfast though!
