Due to a positive covid test we were unable to travel. The morning of our reservation, from the clinic we contacted this hotel to let them know and tried to resechedule to a later date. They wouldn't reschedule and charged us even though we never stayed there. I'm sure they were within their rights, however this bothers me. What good is it to be a best western rewards member? We stay 25 to 35 times a year in hotels and there are other rewards programs that seem to treat us better, two examples are the Hilton Honors program and the Marriott Bonvoy club. Needless to say we will not stay at this location.
We stayed one night. The room air conditioning wasn't working on a 91 degree day. The front desk said they were full and there was nothing they could do. We requested a refund and we'd find another hotel. She said she wasn't authorized to do that and no manager was available. We suffered thru the heat. We ended up checking out at a little past six am due to not being able to sleep. Night auditor apologized (original girl didn't) and said he'd speak to the manager. A couple of days later, I spoke to the manager and he apologized and offered us a partial refund. Thank you for doing the right thing.
We arrived at about 11:00. We asked if our room was ready and was told if we check in early, it would be an additional $25. We said no thanks. We came back at 4:00 pm and checked in. We went to our room and the room was very warm with nothing air conditioning on. This is on a 91 degree day. We put the air on high and it was only barely cool coming out. We caught a cleaning lady and asked if we had something wrong. Hope tried it and said it wasn't working right. We went down to the front desk and spoke to the goth girl that checked us in. She said they were sold out and there was nothing she could do. I asked about a maintenance man looking at it. She said she'd try to catch him but never asked my room number. I did say it for her at that point. I asked if he couldn't fix it, could we be refunded and find a hotel with air conditioning. She said she couldn't authorize that and we'd be charged as a no show. She had an attitude. No apology for air not working. We said we'd go get something to eat if she could have “Chris” look at it. When we came back, I asked her about the air and she acted like she had no idea who I was or what I was talking about. Then she said the units were old and Chris said it was blowing some cool and there was nothing else she could do. At least have the air on when guests arrive. There is no elevator in this hotel. Room was large and open. No water or cookies offered at this Best Western. Parking was good although no pull thru. McDonald's and KFC right in front of hotel.
Very clean hotel with friendly staff and good privacy. Location is very convenient, shopping and food in the same parking lot. Plenty of room for parking!
Updated, clean room with engineered hardwood floors. Pet friendly. Great hot tub and breakfast. Super friendly and responsive staff. Great value!
Staff was very friendly, and the views were lovely. Stayed in a 1 King suite for 2 nights, and wish the couch had been more comfortable, but the bed more than made up for it! Best hotel breakfast I've had, thanks in part to the scrambled eggs with Tillamook cheese. There are athletic fields behind the hotel that have practices in the morning that you could hear with the windows open.
Could hear everything in neighbor's room. They weren't being loud, but there seems to be no sound control between rooms.
Black mold in bathroom, broken shower curtain, broken bathroom door hinge, broken electrical outlet cover.
Employees on their break smoking next to rear entrance as well as a woman doing drugs. That is how my hotel stay began. Our room smelled like wet dog combined with cigarette smoke. The breakfast was deeply sad, although the muffins were of "Costco" quality and the only thing edible. The room appeared to be tidy and clean, however, there was dandruff on the TV remote control - gross.
Horrid. Full price no sleep. Drug use & rude loud BEHAVIOUR by Hurd of addicts & their dogs allowed to Poop on carpet inside. Staff was rude to me upon speaking to mgmt. Gross & Scary as hell. Inappropriate & unexpected for $150 a night at a reasonably safe hotel chain. Worst hotel night stay ever.
Worst Best Western I have ever stayed in. Will definitely never go again. The hotel is being used fir homeless people. Good fir them but to charge us over $200 to stay there and have to squeeze by the druggie at the back door every time I went to the car. Our room was disgusting. Smelled like urine. Be smart, stay away.
It's the only Hotel/Motel in town, so they don't have to try hard. Television was a problem but the guy at the Front Desk was able to "fix it" a couple of times. The bedside lamps are hideously bright. The socket used to plug in Laptops by the beds is broken. My mother died, we had no idea how long we needed to stay, so they charged us for leaving a day early, which I thought was harsh under the circumstances. Overall disappointing but circumstances weren't the best either.
Located close to our intended destination/reason for visit. Hotel employees were hard to find when we needed towels and help with breakfast items. Room was decent but mini fridge woke me up several times a night for the entire stay. We needed the fridge for medicine so could not unplug it.i bought earplugs but could still hear that and the a/c. There are no elevators (only two floors) so, pack light :) I read reviews for days and liked that they had floors that were not carpeted. I'm looking for an allergy free and clean room and although there were things that were aggravating about the stay, the hotel served its purpose and we'd stay there again. Sandy is a quaint little town with some good local places to eat and drink. There are no other options for hotels in Sandy so it's stay there or make the drive to surrounding cities.
Having RV serviced in Sandy, Oregon so picked closest hotel to shop. Turned out to be wonderful! Very clean, everything worked in room, nice pool, good breakfast. Front desk staff very helpful, late check-out no problem, kept our bags for hours until we could return for it. If I am ever staying in Sandy again, I would choose this hotel.
The property is well located in Sandy, near to all of the activities. The staff is wonderful. The only problem is that overall the property needs to be repaired. It is a great place to stay, but it really benefits from being the only property in town.
Tidy, slow paced feel. Cute area. Very kind assistant manager, eager to help. Nice to stay somewhere with a small-town feel. Loved that pool was 24 hours but didn't get a chance to check it out. Plenty of parking.
The Sandy Inn was perfect for the event we were attending. The pool made it fun for the grand children and the location was in walking distance to stores, food and downtown Sandy. We were 5 min from the Mienig park, a wooden castle with swings, slides, and fun running and hiding areas for the children. The continental breakfast was decent, the hotel was quiet and well kept and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would use it again and recommend it to friends.
The room was very clean and comfortable. Great complimentary breakfast, more than continental. Parking was easy and secure. Front desk staff were extremely courteous and helpful. I would stay here again without hesitation.
This was the strangest stay I've had at a Best Western in a long time. When I arrived in the evening there was no clerk around. They did have a sign indicating this is "normal" and requesting patience due to staff shortages (no other hotels in the area are doing this). Apologetic clerk showed up about 10 minutes later with 3 customers waiting at the front desk. Sketchy people in the hotel parking lot, made sure nothing was visible in my car overnight. Got to my room, and it had a hideous smell (like spoiled celery or something), I suspect it was paint. Dead tired & my nose adjusted so decided to stay. In the morning, partially blocked drain in the shower left me up to my ankles in water. Room smell was still there, incredibly strong. Room appeared relatively clean & mini fridge worked just fine, bed was comfortable. Still can't give it more than 2 stars with the issues I encountered.
Although we stayed just one night, it was great. We had a bad experience with another hotel chain in the area and I was hoping the Best Western Sandy Inn would not be a repeat. It wasn't! Pleasant staff, pool and area was clean and comfortable, the breakfast area was very clean and well organized (good food too), and the room was also clean. That's my number one requirement when we travel.
Great location in town. Room was very comfortable & quiet. Used the small gym & it was all I needed plus did a couple of laps in the indoor pool. Big bonus was the coin operated laundry (very rare & much appreciated when travelling for weeks on end)
Basics but pleasant. Needs we're met in a satisfactory manner. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that would need to stay in the area. The rooms were clean and I was able to see my vehicle from my room window, which I prefer.
This BW is centrally located right off Hwy 26 in Sandy, OR near local grocery store and walking distance of restaurants. There is a little bit of variety for everyone, Thai, Crepes, Pizza and a hand full of Food trucks to choose from. Saff is always friendly. Rooms are clean and beds and pillows are very comfortable. An indoor pool w/ an exercise room. Laundry facilities
Very well redesigned room with moden style. Spacious room with a big sofa whcih was great. Bed was comfortable. Ony thing that we were not satisfied was the breakfast, but they served the min whcih is good, not the same we expect in other BW hotels.
Great stay, great staff, great location. Took my family on a Christmas break ski trip. The hotel was as expected for a Best Western: clean and consistant to brand. It was exactly 30 minute drive to Skibowl, which is what I was told by staff. Thank you for having a laundry facility and quarters for purchase. Will stay again.
I generally don't leave reviews, and I understand that finding, hiring and retaining quality employees is hard in the world we live in, but this was horrendous. To start off our desk attendant harassed us for having 4 reservations and not having best western accounts- like literally got angry at us- because it made her job harder. While checking us in she got into a verbal exchange with someone sitting in the lobby. On top of that the attendant was constantly out in the parking lot smoking cigarettes or hanging out with homeless people that were threatening guests or people nearby. (If you stay be careful walking to the Safeway because I even felt unsafe going there). I had multiple 40+ minute waits because the attendant was no where to be found or had gone out of range of her wireless phone, and unfortunately it was not uncommon to come into the lobby and have other guests ask if I had seen the attendant because they had been waiting over 30 minutes. I had to frequently come to the front desk because the attendant didn't enter the correct amount of days for our reservations and my card keys didn't work, while trying to blame me for it. There were guests high on drugs that spilled things in the lobby and it wasn't cleaned up and so there were sticky stains on the tile. There was constantly garbage in the hallways outside of peoples rooms, in addition to the literal dirt, garbage and debris smashed into the carpet. There seemed to be some staff living in the hotel that seemed high on drugs, perhaps off shift though. We also saw some stuff dancing through the lobby half naked, harassing the on shift workers. We found hairs in our bed. Finger nails on our floors. Thermostats didn't work. Multiple times throughout our 2 week stay breakfast was late or forgotten. On top of that, multiple guests expressed that their vehicles were vandalized or broken into. When talking to locals, they expressed concern that we chose to stay at this hotel.
Staff and facilities were great but I didn't feel very safe walking to my car and around the grounds. Wish I would have had time to have been able to use the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was great and everything looked really good.
This was my 2nd stay at the Sandy Inn, and I was happy to be back. We visit family in the area once or twice per year, and enjoy staying at this property. It's in a cute town near Mt. Hood but less pricey than resorts. Sandy is a very nice town, with decent shopping, coffee shop and a lovely city park w/ playground.
The staff was extremely attentive to our needs. The breakfast was very well put together. We would return in a heartbeat, but one little item would have made it even better. They need to upgrade their tech and provide Smart TV's. There is no streaming capabilities unless you have a Roku stick or other supplement.
The rooms was quiet and nice. The breakfast was varied and excellent quality and the staff were truly amazing, kind and helpful. There were several great places to eat nearby and it is close to a lot of recreational activities. Would stay again!
This hotel was great. Loved the amenities. The room was great, staff very helpful. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The included breakfast made it worth the money. Made the short quick trip more enjoyable. Helped me relax and get a good nights sleep for my long drive back home.
No black out curtains...1st floor rooms visible from outside & shopping strip lights glare into rooms. Poor check-in experience at 9:45pm...no one at front desk, called hotel number & took 15 minutes for someone to show up Overflowing trash Thick Dog hair on hallway carpet Sticky laminate bedroom floors Broken desk chair
We checked into the Best Western Sandy Inn and were greeted by Destiny. My son and I were so excited that she was still working at this hotel as she provided us with excellent service the first time we stayed in July and she is the reason we came back. Destiny not only remembered us but she went above and beyond to make our stay even more special than last time.Destiny is a true asset to BWSI The rooms are modern and clean. The location is perfect for Sandy!
Fluffy white beds that envelope your body! Super clean rooms and all the amenities you may want or need, at your finger tips. Coffee, good, check! Pool w clean towels, check! Fitness center, check! Mc D's across parking lot and a Safeway, Yes! Super nice hotel desk customer service representatives and concierge, they've got it! I loved staying at this hotel. 5+Stars***** and an extra one for the overall experience!..*
I highly recommend the Sandy Inn! It is like a home away from home. The staff from top to bottom is friendly and committed to making your stay a positive experience from check in to check out. The rooms are super clean, and the beds are very comfortable! The complimentary breakfast is also a hit! The Sandy Inn is my go to hotel when visiting Oregon!
The Best Western Sandy in has friendly staff, clean rooms, nice amenities, a lovely pool, and a good breakfast buffet! This hotel met all of our needs. Our family would return if staying in the area again!
Taylor the assistant manager was a great guy to do business with. Location is perfect with easy access to a Safeway next door. Planet fitness was 20 minutes from the hotel. The room was kept in tip top shape daily and the space that they provide for the cost is second to none! Taylor did give me a tour of the waterfall sweet and I am definitely going to stay there next time I come! It's a perfect little hotel right next to the bottom of the clackamas river
The rooms were very clean and spacious. I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western In. The breakfast was really good and service was very friendly. I would for sure stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.
Well designed rooms, clean, walk to grocery store and restaurants, quiet, nice pool, good internet and TV options, very good customer service. Didn't try breakfast this time. I will stay here again next time I am in the area.
We stayed for a baseball tournament with other members of our team. We had lots of kids, parents and even their pets. Kids had a great time at the pool playing for hours while the parents sat on the adjoining patio and chatted. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and seemed genuinely happy to have us there. Hotel is located near Safeway and a few fast food restaurants which was handy!
Great location in town, walking to food and shopping, just down the mountain from the ski park. Has everything you need at a reasonable price. Friendly staff, clean rooms, fresh coffee, and pretty decent breakfast each morning.
I had fell asleep reading my Kindle and forgot it buried in my sheets when I checked out. The housekeeper found it and immediately returned it to the front desk, who called me and was able to let me know before I left town. I felt this service really went above and beyond and saved me from the sadness of not only losing my Kindle, but going on a 6 hour flight without it. Thank you so much!
Clean, comfortable and welcoming on a rainy day in the Pacific Northwest. Excellent friendly staff. Walk to Safeway, KFC, McDonald's without crossing any busy streets. The Safeway is large and well-stocked; prices are competitive. Internet, fitness center. breakfast options are attractive and up to date. Property is well kept. Nice place to stay: We'll be back.
Great rooms and a cute little hotel. Perfect location but staff seem to be overworked and overwhelmed but absolutely professional and friendly for the most part just not as helpful as I need them to be at times but I get that staff is hard to find.
Over priced for the stay ($161/night), room was cold and uninviting with harsh lighting. I stayed at the Oregon Garden Resort for $129/night with warm ambient lighting, soaking tub, fireplace and patio. Far better value than this
When we came back to our room there was a homeless person sleeping in the stairwell. There was many people in the hallway partying and talking loudly all through the night. We could also hear people in the rooms around us talking in their rooms. Something needs to be done to muffle the noise.
The best part is location…in the middle of Mt. Hood and Portland airport. Beds were comfortable..nice size room. Breakfast was less than sub-standard. You ordered the night before and picked up at desk (time slot) in a brown paper bag..limited choices. Loitering of other guests in stairways and back entrances… disturbing. Loud music..strong food odor in hallways..smoking. Maids never came to change sheets or provide fresh towels.
Stayed only one night while having service work done on an RV. Font desk allowed us in early - thank you. Comfortable room. Pet fee is high at $30 but so be it! Room very comfortable. Overall worked well or us. Handy having the Safeway next door. Quiet.
We wanted to cancel our reservation and go straight through, :45 mins to Portland. But, the hotels policy was that if we canceled we would've lost $180. Taylor checked us in and he was the highlight of this best western. He was friendly, informative & helpful. There was free parking, a pool, washer and dryer, and a small gym. We were in room 121 in accessible. It was strangely configured( We kept tripping over each other. My husband hated that the sink was across from the bed. The bed was comfortable, we were happy to see no carpeting, and it was clean. We made it work for one night. We had a blackout shade room was dark and quiet. We When we arrived at the hotel at 2:30 in the afternoon there were many men hanging around cars & Sitting in the shrubbery out front. When we left the hotel they were still there and when we came back at 9:15 the dozen men were still there. We did not feel unsafe but this was strange, we've been at over a dozen hotels this year and we've never experienced this. OK now I'll close up the brush you brushed
The hotel was very nice. Rooms are big and the beds are extremely comfy. Front desk was friendly and wasn't trying to hurry us along as with some hotels that act like you are interrupting their break time. Staff was great. Highly recommend this hotel. And they are pet friendly.
It's a decent hotel but very, very noisey location. Rooms are small for the price paid but house keeping and front desk staff are nice and did a good job. Bed is okay but don't expect a peacefull night if you end up with a room near the stairs.
It very nice Best Western Sandy Inn, I loved it, close shops. Nice area.Very nice and Clean, I would be back again, great place to stayed, My family had a great time. Enjoyed the Mount Hood and so easy to get here. I would recommend to my friends and family.
Sandy Best Western will double charge you. They say they need your card to hold the room, which is understandable and you will see a charge on your card. When you arrive however they make you run your card a second time instead of just using the original charge. You will be charged twice unnecessarily and have to wait weeks to get reimbursed. I will never stay at this hotel again as long as they double charge.
Hotel was easily accessible, many amenities near by. Rooms were upgraded and clean. Great price and service. Booked for a weekend at Mt. Hood, great location. I definitely see us staying here in the future.
Minor issue with broken screen on my window. When I arrived there were about a dozen Western Boxelder Bugs in my room/on window (it's their season). As an amateur entomologist I hardly minded at all, but I think most other hotel guests would have been horrified. I collected all the bugs, set them free outside, and closed window to my room. Other than that and the pared down breakfast because of COVID, I enjoyed my one night stay and would stay there again.
At check in When we got to our room the toilet was full of toilet paper and stinky poop! When my husband went to the front desk immediately the gal handed him a plunger! The room was pretty dirty. Then there was a large group of people in the room next to us. At 1 am there was a lot of yelling kids playing loud people laughing bumping in tou our wall etc. I tried 5 times to call the front desk and no one would answer. I had to go down at 1:30 am open the front door to the motel to alert the night gal some one was there. She agreed she could hear them but let me know no one has complained!!!! She also walked away from me while I was talking. I complained to the manager in the morning and his response was “ yeah I heard about that”!!!! $200.00 for a dirty noise room. I do not recommend also they don't offer breakfast any more.
We will not be back. Stay away. They did not tell us we had to request room service for the next day. When we ask for room service they said they would and then did not. We have stayed in other Best Western hotels and this was not the quality we expected.
No sleep person above us made noise all night no help from desk if they said anything it didnt help they rolled the chair back and forth for hours I thought I was in a bowling alley call the desk the bowling seemed to stop then stomping back and till after 2 a.m. I have to drive in the morning I'm now exhausted this was like motel hell
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. BW has great staff, clean rooms, feel safe, going a great job during the virus. I would recommend anyone to stay at the hotel. For the person that did the last review. The hotel, spa and gym was already closed because of the virus. The window broke after it. Sometimes with reviews you can clearly see false statements. Some days they didn't have full housekeeping, but they always let me know and was able to get sheets and towels.
This place was ran so horrible!!! Do not let anyone stay here!!! We had a fire and had to stay here and the management is so bad!!! The manager doesn't even know how to make a bed he just puts sheets on the bed and you make them your selves!!! Also our trailer got broken into while at this property!!!
the nicest person here was the desk clerk on evenings, she went out her way to help. the others including owners were rude. This was also the time they shut down the breakfast area, gave grab and go bags.
Even after negotiating a lower price this time the price was too high. My Business takes me to Sandy 4 to 6 times per year. I would like to stay at the Sandy inn because my clients live close and Sandy is a nice town. But I stay in Gresham at the Quality Inn because the price is usually $50.00 less. Even today I checked prices. The Quality Inn is $79.00 and Sandy Inn is $140.00. The difference today is $56.00.Then the 9% transient tax and the 2% state tax adds even more to the cost to stay at you hotel. That's $62.16 difference. For $62.16 I can have a very nice meal for myself and my companion plus pay for the Starbucks coffee the next morning. Can you tell me that you would opt for the $62.16 higher cost? I don't think so. If Sandy had competition in sandy you would be hard pressed to charge what you charge. So Mr. Kong, I do not recommend your facility even though I have stayed their a number of times and the staff are really great, your upgrades have been wonderful and your breakfast has improved. I loath to stay there when my companion asks to stay in Sandy because everything is convenient. (Sorry Taylor, you're a great guy and very helpful)
The rooms are nice, the bed are comfy, We like the tile floors througout. We visited on NYE, and it was quite busy. the staff was working hard to take care of everyone. We would stay again, its only about 30 minutes to the mountain. Stop by the food trucks and have a meal. best in town.
Room was filthy with stains and moldy chicken in refrigerator! Delayed our checkin by 45mins to reclean the room only to find the same chicken still in the refrigerator! Additionally microwave needed some "Macgyvering"
Cleanliness: Above average Bed quality: Good Reception friendliness/treats: Above average and cookies at 1830 Furnishing quality: All in good shape Internet: Not good for streaming videos Charging: Need more outlets at night stand Elevator: None Noise level: Noisy - could hear people above very well. Breakfast: Sausage gravy so I was happy. They also had bold coffee.
I arrived here to find plenty of parking. the staff were nice and the room was very big. The hotel was next to Safeways so was good to get food and drinks i needed. The hotel swimming pool was warm and had a small gym. the breakfast had penty of choice would stay here again
Our room was very updated which was nice however the shower drain was not working properly. Security cameras literally hanging from the wires at the side entrance. Very low quality breakfast. Nice employees. Won't stay again.
The Best Western Sandy Inn (Oregon) is kind of hard to find, if you don't know the area. A larger entrance sign would be helpful. Currently they are under construction. The beds were old and worn, but management promised us they were to be updated soon. Nice folks.
After a no girls weekend, we were tired and crabby. Trina took care of us. She went above and beyond to make our stay awesome. Breakfast was good, the cookies in the evening were amazing and the quiet night of rest was just what we needed.
This was out second visit to Sandy Best Western. We were not disappointed with this visit either. The BW Team was pleasant, funny, helpful, knowledgeable of the area & surrounding areas, attentive, & professional. The renovations are very nice. Coffee 24/7 & chocolate chip cookies are great for that midnight snack. Overall, Sandy BW is our go to place when visiting our son.
Stayed 1 night on the way to Bend, OR. Hotel was partially renovated and rooms were large. My issue is with where my room was located within the hotel. Room 105 is right across from what might be the loudest ice maker in the world. It proceeded to wake me up with every cycle of dropping ice. When you pay for a room to sleep in, you expect a decent quality of sleep. Get a newer/quieter ice maker or relocate it so it's not in front of any rooms. It's that simple.
They were remodeling the front of the building when I was there. It was still easy to get in and out as needed. There was shopping and fast food restaurants close by within walking range. Friendly staff and clean large room with two queen beds. A very pleasant experience.
Located right in Sandy. The outside is being remodeled but don't let that bother you. The room we were in was updated and had black out shades. The wireless wifi worked great with two of us in the room on at the same time. Breakfast had a variety of choices and good coffee.
Great hotel with really nice pool and you can't beat the location as it's near mount hood and all the amazing hiking trails! There is also a huge grocery store right next to the hotel, which is very handy for packing picnics!
to check-in early (I asked to check in 1 hour early). I am still amazed that this Best Western really charges for a Reward Member to check in early. WOW..... The hotel was undergoing remodeling and there were no signs commenting on "any inconvenience". But not really a surprise if they charge to check in early. Ho-hum breakfast.....lumpy bed......extremely bland front desk staff.
Old and dirty rooms. Our room had a horrible dog odor in it..they were understaffed and it showed.the only thing that we actually enjoyed was the pool and breakfast. They are doing construction on the outside of the building currently. Hopefully next is the inside.if you can keep driving.
This Best Western has a lot to be desired at this point. We have stayed here on more than 6 times over the past 5 years (family local). We have had a few issues before, but generally a good experience. This time, the property was under renovation, our room had not been cleaned (hairs in bed, linen not changed and full of holes, toilets dirty. There was only one poor lady working at the front (who was nice), and since they were sold out, offered to clean the room and change linens for us. We told her to just give us the linens and we will do it ourselves, which we did! (Amazing right). The owner is never there, and they are short staffed. We like the property due to it's convenience and indoor pool, but we are rethinking our accommodations for any future stays.
Be ready to have a hard time parking, see a run down business that has half of its siding stripped and pay premium dollar for it. Based off the photos and other things you think you are staying at a nice hotel. I would prefer to stay in Portland travel or find an Air BNB
I went for a wedding close by. The staff at reception were very friendly, talkative, and helpful. Housecleaning service staff were very friendly. Food choices at breakfast were good. I had a great room.
We come to Sandy once a year to see family and friends, celebrate a few birthday days, staying at the Best Western Sandy Inn is a tradition, convenient location is perfect for anyone staying there to explore and sight see the North West.
I have stayed here twice, and both times was very happy with the property. It is easy to get in and out, and conveniently located near grocery and other stores. The staff was very nice and accommodating, and it was clean and quiet.
Check-in was good, quite a cheerful guy on reception. Room as expected. Small outside area. Breakfast was o.k. All in all - good for one night. It won't be remembered for good or for bad. Nice meal at the tollgate inn.
The area in the town of Sandy Oregon is one of beauty and comfort in a small town atmosphere. The motel was easy to find and convenient for everything. Restaurants and shopping was all close at hand. The motel was easy to find and attractive with a very friendly and informative staff that answers to all of our questions. Quiet comfort and slept like a log.
Had a great stay at the BW Sandy! Thank you for the hospitality and peaceful stay! We will be back often. I stay here every time I need a room in the area. It is a convenient and central location between PDX and Mt Hood.
I spent one night here and it was super convenient as my meeting was only 5 miles away the next morning. Sound carries into the room from the hall easily but not from room to room. Breakfast was what you would expect for complimentary with a decent selection. Staff was all very friendly and helpful.
Thank YOU Ms. Julie for a wonderful breakfast every morning! I am going to miss having all of these choices every day— you made my stay here at Best Western, Sandy so delightful. You are a breath of fresh air, first thing in the morning— you made me feel like I was sitting right at home, in your own kitchen — you have a way with people to make them feel special! Thank you again Julie, I will see you soon, when our next Guide Dog for the Blind graduates from GDB School in Boring, OR. Thank you Ms. Julie for your kindness, Laura Ann R-T The Cookie Lady Boulder, Colorado
I was able to get a king bed room with using my AAA & AARP discount. The facility was clean and I felt comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was perfect, with a good selection of cold cereal as well as hot food.
I attended a wedding in Estacada, Oregon where there are no hotels or motels, so Sandy, Oregon was the most convenient place to stay. Thankfully I found the Best Western Sandy Inn. The staff was friendly, helpful and the room was clean and quiet.
The location of this Hotel is perfect, and for what we were doing and why we were there, it couldn't have been more perfect. High School Baseball Tournament, everything you need is within walking distance
Our stay at the BW in Sandy OR could not have been more enjoyable! Loved the indoor pool and hot tub after a long stressful drive and the royal treatment from staff was second to none. All staff watched out for my 91 year old mom and treated her kindly when I had to be away. I was grateful more than words can say as it was a big worry relieved!
Look no further if your heading to Mt. Hood National Park. This is the little town that has it all and the BW was perfect accommodations offering a family-friendly environment. Breakfast was much more than expected and very much appreciated. New movie theater nearby and hundreds of DVD's to choose from makes entertainment a breeze. Beds were comfortable and pillows were decent. Upgraded towels would be good. They rushed up more with no problem. The hospitality was original, authentic, and genuine. Great staff that were always smiling and working very hard! Thank you and keep it up! For a small town with no hotels to choose from... this is THE PLACE TO BE!
It's quiet, clean, comfort driven with a wonderful breakfast. The best staff I've ever had at a hotel experience. Groceries and restaurants all around the hotel area. Great location for launching a Mt. Hood skiing trip.
We were in town for only one night. Hotel is small and quiet. Convenient location in Sandy. Everything was clean and comfortable. Check in staff friendly and efficient. Good breakfast selection. Recommend.
This was the most selective breakfast ever and the people were very nice.I would stay at this hotel if you were going on a trip towards Mt. Hood. The pool and hot tub were also nice they had no closure time.
The outside of the building is the ugliest color, but the room was great! Hard floors, great big room. We took advatage of the pool which was small but uncrowded. They had a huge breakfast that even had good selections for me anf I have a ton of severe food allergies. The location is about 40 min. From mt hood which was why we were there.
I am from Sandy Oregon originally. I moved to Seattle after getting married seven years ago. My family still lives in the area. I have stayed @ the best western a few times recently. The staff was very friendly, the rooms clean, and the breakfast was awesome. Very satisfied. I will definitely stay again! Thank you.
Wonderful place to stay. Sandy is a cute town and close to Portland. The hotel was very nice. Rooms were great! Breakfast was great! Close to lots of activities. Went to visit a friend and the hotel was pretty centrally located.
Stayed here for a wedding and the places are very limited in Sandy. The rooms were ok, but a little rough. No carpet, just tiles, so a little cold. Bed and linens were really thin and cheap. Towels were very rationed, we had 2 each day for me and my wife, and they are paper thin. Honestly for all of this you would expect from the BW, they are very thrifty, but the price, was actually the same as I paid for a 4 star in downtown Portland, because they are the only place in town. I totally understand this, but put some money in the small things to justify what you are charging people. For me, next time I would stay in a different town and just drive to the wedding in Sandy.
This hotel has great workers and helped us out in our time of need! They are so nice and make sure you have anything an everything you need! I would recommend you stay there! Everyone there is super nice!
Hotel was clean staff was great and breakfast was good. My husband and I will definitely will stay there again. Thank you for making our stay so special!! We celebrated our reunion with our Son & daughter in law & grand kids for the first time in 30 years. Our hearts are full of love and joy!!!
When I booked this hotel, there was no indication that the hotel was undergoing a remodel and reconstruction. It was very inconvenient getting in and out of the hotel, because the entire lobby was closed off. We stayed in one of the remodeled rooms, but there seemed to be a lack of quality control in the remodel process. There were several items that needed attention and we brought these to the attention of management. The room felt cold and uninviting due to the fact that the floor was tiled...no carpets. I probably would not stay here again.
The hotel was in remodeling and the ice machine didn't work, the hotel was a mess from the dust of the tile being installed, but the staff was able to give us ice for our cups from the refrigerator. Other than that it was fine.
The front desk staff was pleasant. Room and hotel interior were terribly depressing. I did not end up staying at the hotel after taking a look at the room. Plastic flooring, uncomfortable set-up and furniture, stains, terrible bed and decor, terrible sheets, industrial hospital style bathroom. I have never seen a room quite as bad as that one.
Good hotel, good breakfast ,eggs sausage, etc.Nice staff. Restaurant and pub with in walking distance ,also fast food opposite, and a Safeway Huge Goodwill shop over the car park .Would recommend if in area
I came in town from BC for a family wedding. Staff was helpful and the room was immaculate. Very comfortable bed and pillows! They accommodated us for a reception after the wedding reception in the breakfast area so we could relax and meet in a smaller group setting.
"+" Номер очень просторный. Кровать огромная и очень комфортная. Кофе как всегда у них вкусный. Spacious room. Huge and comfy bed. Great coffee as usual. "-" Мебель потертая: столик почти сломан и качался, диван прожжен. Завтрак разочаровал: скудный выбор фруктов (3 несочных мандарина, 2 банана и 5 яблок для такого большого отеля - смешно), в основном искусственная сухомятка типа химической каши и хлопьев. Удивила обслуживающая девушка, пришедшая с мешком мандаринов и положившая на почти пустынный стенд с фруктами всего три мандарина. На горячее были какие-то пережаренные сосиски и яичница. Old shabby furniture: tea table was about ot break and rickety, sofa had burned hole. Breakfast disappointed: poor choice of fruit (totally for all guests 3 juicyless tangerins, 2 bananas and 5 apples - it's ridiculous for such large hotel), in general there are artificial dry junks like poggige in sachets and flakes. We were surprised with the waitress, who brought big bag of tangerins but put only 3, others brought back. For hot dishes there were overdone sausages and eggs.
After this stay, we canceled out next scheduled stay in Sept. 2018. Way too much money for this hotel. The front desk needs help on how to be helpful and curious to the customers. The room didn't feel clean. There were french fry behind the night stand on the floor. The breakfast wasn't any thing to brag about, and around the toilet floor was never clean.
We stayed here for a family reunion in nearby Eagle Creek. And it was a pleasure in every way. Clean, quiet and comfortable. With fluffy towels, great shower, 24-hr indoor pool/jacuzzi, hearty breakfast, and best of all, super friendly staff. Highly recommend.
We chose this property because it was a convenient location between Mt. Hood and PDX. The hotel staff was pleasant; the room was clean; the breakfast was fine. We had no complaints or problems. This was an
Stayed in this hotel for 1 night on a road trip through Oregon. Nice big room and huge kingsize bed. Room looked like it was just renovated. Definitely ok, but missed a little bit of a homey feeling, there were no frames or anything ln the walls, felt a bit cold. I think they are renovating the entire hotel, because outside they had just put on new lines in the parking lot, and the breakfast corner was undergoing renovations as well. We had a room on the second floor, but be aware there is no elevator in the hotel. Didn't use the indoor pool, but it looked nice. Breakfast is like in most chain hotels in this class/price range. Good enough to get your day started, but not overly wow. Will stay here again if ever needed a room in Sandy.
We reserved two rooms at the hotel. When we checked in, they had only one room reserved. They found a second room but we were told that we could only have that room for 2 nights and then we would have to switch rooms. We then were offered a choice of a room with a king size bed and a rollaway bed or an apartment. We were told that the apartment had an alarm that would go off from time to time. All of this for $185 a night. The hotel is under renovation and the staff is highly incompetent. There are two floors but no elevator so suitcases have to be dragged up and down steps.
We loved the remodle. Removing all the carpet makes everything cleaner and brighter. Our room was hudge. The breakfast was excellent and always full. Wish we had more time to spend relaxing in your pool . We had a great time, see you again soon.
Hotel was wonderful with comfortable beds! Rooms were always clean, great wifi connection, clean indoor pool area, and breakfast was exceptional during our stay!!! KC at front desk was simply wonderful and extremely helpful. His recommendations of must do's during our trip were fantastic!!! It's so nice to have someone from the area give you tips on what to do and where to go so that we could enjoy our stay. They were undergoing construction in some of the rooms, but we were never inconvenienced nor heard any noise while we were in the hotel which is a BIG plus for us!!! It's located in a great spot easy access to hiking trails and Portland. Great place to stay with friendly staff and clean/comfortable rooms! We will definitely be back!
Room was clean and best bed ever. Breakfast was excellent. Great customer service. Taylor is wonderful and efficient at the front desk. The breakfast had a good assortment of items, the eggs were excellent.
I stayed at this Best Western for about a month and for the most part enjoyed it. It was very easy to access mass transit and there's plenty of places to eat at by walking (checkout the food trucks at the western edge of downtown!). The hotel was very clean and housekeeping excellent. Front desk staff were always willing to help. For me the bed was just a bit hard but I'm quite thin. However the rear room I stayed in was EXTREMELY quiet and the insulation between rooms was quite good. The internet was just about the best I've ever experienced with 100Mbps down and 10+Mbps up (best performance of course is middle of the day when most people have checked out :-)
Located right off Hwy 26, it's a great location to venture out to see Hood or fish the Sandy River. Very clean, roomy and quiet which is a plus for my writing. Surrounded by good eats and all the things to do in Sandy.
The hotel was clean and quiet. Check in was fast. The location was convenient. The price was reasonable. It fullfilled all of my expectations. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to stay in the area.
Nice Hotel for our short stay. Easy check in, clean rooms, cleaning service good and front desk staff helpful. My buddy had actually left something in the parking lot adjacent to the hotel and called the hotel staff a few days later. Taylor was on duty and actually went out to the parking lot, found what my buddy had left behind and held it for us until our return a few days later. That's going out of your way to help someone and much appreciated.
Easy access to highway and local food/stores. Clean rooms and decent breakfast. Staff was professional and friendly. Pets are welcomed in this facility. There was a chemical smell when first checking in that required us to open windows to air out the room.
Hotel was great and front office staff was friendly. Room was clean and internet worked well. Breakfast had good options. Pool was nice as well. It was a cheaper option than the hotels that were at Mount Hood. Easy to get to and find.
Let's face it, if you travel a lot, the most important things are a strong shower, comfortable bed, friendly/helpful staff and a great breakfast (if applicable). This Best Western hit 5 stars in all of those areas and more. Andrew (his first night solo apparently), was absolutely a model of friendly, competent and courteous behaviour. Everyone I meet was (great job whoever is hiring folks here).
When checking-in we noticed the bed sagging in the middle terribly. We went to the front desk and ask for another room explain the bed was broken. They sent us to another room also with another broken bed but not as bad. It smelled very musky & dirty. When we address the front desk they said they were sold out. She was very rude. I explained it was our child's birthday and I wanted to surprise them with a birthday cake. No big party, just one child me. I was away on business and did not want her to feel left out. She really would not help me and said we could not have cake anywhere on the premise unless it was in our room. I did call and speak to someone else the next day and they explained I could have cake and they would pass this on. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The beds were very crippling- hurt me for days.
Best Western Sandy Inn, is a great hotel to stay if you are traveling to Mt. Hood. Clean, professional staff and overall good place if staying a couple of nights in the area. Less expensive than Government Camp and only 25-30min drive to Mt. Hood.
No complaints. The hotel is in good shape and staff were friendly and competent. I'd say breakfast was a little better than typical. No complaints about the town itself, either; plenty of services for a short stay, a nice small town feel to it, like people know one another. It serves well as a spot to get up (or down) the mountain without being on the mountain.
We have stayed at this hotel each time we visit the area. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast is good. The location is perfect - close to everything. I would recommend it and I will be back again.
Everyone- front desk staff, breakfast person, housekeepers, Workman walking down the hall - was genuinely friendly. Not in an over-the-top or sales-y way, but just really nice to be around. The building is a bit run down, but well kept and clean and pleasant.
Great location for an easy drive to local ski areas. Surrounding area had good food options. Coffee shops , fast food and easy access makes this spot a place we will return to again. Cleans rooms and comfortable beds were a plus for sure.
Pleasantly surprised. Clean, quiet, indoor, working pool and hot tub, good breakfast, helpful staff. Would stay again. Located right by many fast food places, grocery store, shops. Fridge and microwave in room and free parking.
This is not our first stay at Sandy Inn. All of our visits are centered Around family. Our son and his family live and work in the area, but their house is small, so we stay at the Inn. They have comfortable rooms, hot continental breakfasts, pool with hot tub, exercise room, laundry facilities and pleasant counter personnel.
We had a plumbing issue at home and had to move everyone including our 2 9-mo old puppies to the hotel for a week. The staff was fantastic and super friendly. I really appreciated them working with our crazy work schedules and trying to get our house back together.
For my business needs the hotel was. 5 - 10 minutes drive to work. Was centrally location to restaurants. Places to go and do things within a short drive of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful during my stay. Would recommend this hotel.
1st - I requested an early check-in and upon arriving on Sunday at 13:30 was informed my room was available, however, there is a $20 early check-in fee. I waited until 15:00 to avoid paying the fee - forget the fee during off-peak periods 2nd - I made reservations through my corporate travel agency to stay 3-days. I completed my work one day earlier than expected. I notified the desk that I would be checking out a day early. As I was leaving, I went by the desk to obtain a copy of my invoice, I was informed by the General Manager that I would be charge an extra day since I probably received a reduce rate for staying multiple days - which is untrue. The individual informed me the hotel's normal, daily rate is $142/day. I immediately called my corporate travel agent and was informed the hotel reservation was showing $98/day. I informed the GM of this and she said that I would probably be charge a little more/day - maybe $10. She had to call someone that would need to check with corporate to determine my room rate. I didn't agree with this as I have never experienced charges for early check-out at any BW hotel. I did inform the GM that I wasn't happy with the potential, additional charge. When I received my electronic invoice, I was charged for 3-days even though I only stayed 2-days. I travel a lot and spend well over 150 days/year in hotels and normally stay in BW hotels when available. I have never experienced this level of aggravation and disappointment at any other BW Hotel. In my opinion, this location needs to more closely adhere to the franchise guidelines. I will not stay in this hotel again and will make it my mission to advise others about the potential challenges when staying here. In addition - upon viewing my rewards activity, I was awarded points for only 2 nights even though I was charged for 3 nights.
Thanks for service will stay again Just the price did not like much Breakfast was the best and good service and the pillow was comfy. Kids love it. we had a ruff day but we did good on deciding to stay at best western
Great stay, comfortable bad, primly service, safe facility, and access to lots and lots of restaurants and activities, The pool was awesome. It was great that was open 24 hours a day :-) it's great that you have a workout room :-)
Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. The room was neat and clean and very comfortable. It had probably the best internet connection of all of the hotels we stayed at during our trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all of my traveling friends.
This is a very nice property. However the TV is way to complicated. We asked for assistance at the from desk and she gave us instructions. However, she SHOULD have said I will send someone down to help you. That is b big ding.
Broken wet garment code still broken. Hot tub tiles still broke from last stay. Lobby still unfinished from last stay. Towel rack coming off the wall. I like the room because it is at the end of the hall and has two windows for more natural light. Glad they have this room available when I travel to Sandy, Oregon. Still the price is higher than I think it should be but no competition in the town.
Clerks-Taylor & Anna were very cordial and helpful...Our maids-Maria&Brenda were exceptional. This is a very clean motel-both inside and out...all staff were accommodating .Breakfast was good..it is nice to stay in a motel where the rooms don't smell like cigarette smoke, and they allow pets. Would stay here again..
Clean. Good pool and hot tub. Pet friendly with a fee. Fast food and groceries nearby. Fridge and microwave. Very clean and nice people. Great for teams and groups. Nearby Sandy is a fun place to walk. July has Sandy days. Great farmers market in the summer.
I was very pleased. Nice clean and friendly service. Great Breakfast. Would stay here again and would recommend to anyone. Very pleased with price. Room was very clean and comfortable. Nice value in a fun little town.
The tub and the sink in my room were both plugged up and the tv remote did not work I can't take standing in water while I shower or not being able to clean the sink after I shave. I made the call to the front desk, a few minutes later here comes the guy from the front desk and he had a trainee with him. They brought me a new remote and used a zip tie looking tool to remove the 50lbs of hair from each drain. All was well and I got a good nights sleep. I used the express checkout option which was nice, grabbed a breakfast sandwich and was out the door by 5:15am. Overall not a bad stay.
A pleasant surprise was that this room was as good as any 5 star. Clean and quiet, good sized rooms, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast with many choices, including eggs, potatoes, sausages and waffles, and bonus is that it's close to Starbucks ?? Or McDonalds for the kids!
We had to leave the Best Western at Mt. Hood as it was under construction and unacceptable on so many levels. The Sandy Inn was clean, friendly, inviting, had very attentive staff and exactly what you expect and want when you need comfort! They even had free DVD movies to check out at the front desk. How cool is that?!
A very nice facility. Slightly over priced, I imagine to play off Portland, and it's the only game in town. Overall a very nice facility. I'm a business traveler and a year around supporter of the motel / hotel industry. It'll be interesting to see what the rates are when the "summer rates" don't apply.
Made this reseervation to attend family wedding. Hotel charges $20.00 if you want/need to check in before 3 PM. Would have liked a little more time to get ready for the wedding but felt like an additional $20.00 added to a $150.00 room was a bit extravagent. Hotel was nothing special. Bed uncomfortable. Room clean. Breakfast next morning was 15-20 minutes late opening. Hot food wasn't heated thoroughly and eggs tasted rubbery. Would probably not stay here again.
Nice remolded room. No elevator though so pack light :) Taylor the staff member was FAB! Breakfast was good. Had a nice variety. Price is kind of spendy for a night - I think anyways. Room was big and pretty. Beds were comfy.
Clean rooms, great complimentary breakfast, pool and spa open 24 hours!!!! It's near everything so you can walk to restaurants and get a bite to eat. I would recommend this place if your in Sandy, OR.
I've stayed at the Best Western Sandy Inn several times as I've traveled in the Mt. Hood area. This property is consistently great - including the staff service, breakfast, room quality and other amenities offered. I highly recommend the Sandy Inn for value, guest services, and ease of access when traveling in the Mt. Hood area! They are in the process of remodeling, so I'm sure that the value will become even better when the remodel is complete.
I didn't stay at this hotel. They mixed up my rewards number with someone else ans I got their invoice and receipt via email. They haven't resolved the issue. (obviously since I got this!!!) Contacted the hotel to tell them and they admitted someone messed up and didn't further verify they pulled up the correct acct.
Got caught on a dark night in a downpour: too much for wipers to handle. Found this motel far enough off the highway for quiet and backing onto a grove of trees. Clean, helpful front desk staff, very nice room.
The staff was very professional, and helpful. The INN WAS VERY CLEAN The rooms were top notch and we enjoyed the breakfast. The grounds outside were very well kept . We felt secure staying here , not worrying about our car being broken into. There are several nice restraunts in this nice area of town .
We stuck with the Best Western or Holiday Inn brands on our trip as much as possible, this hotel should be dropped from any brand name, there was a sign at the front desk to call the attendant, we did and he arrived through the front door 8 minutes later and said he had to help someone with their luggage as there is no elevator, however there are stairs on each end of the hallway, he apologized, then at checkout, the sign again, there was a women on the phone in the office area next to the front desk, she came out and did not even acknowledge us, I had my room keys clearly visible in my hand on the counter, she continued talking obviously with a customer, we went to breakfast and everything seemed a day old, the women walked past us, nothing, no apology, no good morning, went back to check out, same thing, on the phone in the office, I dropped the keys over the counter and left, my wife went back in to get a receipt, she was told by the women, "we don't give receipts, you will get it in email, the billing goes through at 3 A.M. then proceeds to print out a receipt" The only good thing about tis hotel was the water pressure, and we were on the back side so it was quiet.
They messed up my reservation and wanted to charge me for their mistake. I had the "free" breakfast the first morning. Never went back. Cold eggs/potatoes and warm sausage. The toilet leaked, the couch was worn out, and I had a spider problem in the room.
Staff is friendly and breakfast is of better quality. I thought our rate was high but we booked right before we needed the room. Check-in person asked about bonus points as rewards members, and she made sure we knew everything we needed to know.
The entire experience here was somewhat depressing. Our no smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke, The bedding reeked as did everything in the room. To top it off their internet connection is so overloaded I could not get on either of the 2 nights I was there. The only bright spot was a polite staff and great breakfast. The room is way overpriced given the quality.
This was a nice hotel. Had to stay there for school sports tournament. Location was excellent, staff could not have been nicer. I felt it was pricey for the location (the town). Priced more for a city.
Very friendly staff, breakfast is very similar to other Best Westerns. We stayed in a pet friendly room and I'm not sure if the room was recently smoked in or if they turned a smoking room into a pet friendly room but the smell from smoking was very present. We stayed with two little kids, one was an infant, he repeatedly coughed throughout the night. Other than that, clean, just a bit outdated. So we found it pricey for what it was, especially compared to other BW hotels.
The room was clean.. servicer ok... personnel were friendly. It is a small area.. the pool is really small... it is fine for a places to stay for a night or two. I would recommend this to anyone who is messing a which place to stay.
On arrival the very friendly person behind the front desk soon had us checked in, although as there is no lift in the property we had to carry all our bags upstairs to our room - when you're on a road trip this is quite an effort! The room was a good size and well equipped but, like the last hotel we stayed in, the sink was in the room itself rather than the bathroom. The room was very noisy, even with our A/C turned off. We think the noise was from the A/C unit situated on the roof of the swimming pool, close to our window. We used the pool, which is a good size, and the hot tub - all good here. The breakfast buffet was as expected although it was disappointing to have disposable plates and plastic cutlery. Checkout was an efficient process. So, a bit of a mixed bag. We would stay again if we were passing by, but only for a night, not any longer.
A bit pricey, but there's not much choice. Also was in tourist season, so demand was high. The place needs renovation - a bit run down. HVAC controls didn't work properly (auto fan only) and kept waking us up. Also in order to change temperature had to turn off, then to heat, then to AC. Starbucks is in the Safeway next door, so skip the hotel coffee.
From the time of check in, which was extremely late at night, we were greeted with such an awesome cheerful employee named Taylor. He made sure we had everything we needed and told us what places were still open to get a bite to eat. He had such a welcoming presence. The service from the maids and staff were so wonderful. Very pleasant, very accommodating and made our stay wonderful. The room we had was huge which helped so much with all the business we had to conduct and lay out all of our things. We definitely will stay here again. Loved the free breakfasts in the morning. There was only 2 issues we had, one was the sink got clogged, but they fixed that immediately and the other was we kept hearing a dog barking. Did not bring it to the hotels attention, but did not know if this hotel was or was not a dog friendly hotel, but other then that it was great. And we will be staying here again.
When we arrived at 8:30pm there was one person at the counter who was trying to resolve a discrepancy between the price he was given when he booked, and the price being charged at check in (that was probably due to German-US exchange rate changes). However, despite this issue plus having me also waiting to check in, the one-and-only staff person proceeded to take multiple calls that involved long discussions about details of the BestWestern points program, prices for different dates, etc, etc. When people are waiting in person, I don't think check in staff should be dealing with future reservation arrangements on the phone. Instead, she should have forwarded incoming calls to the corporate number. It took over 40 minutes before we got checked in, which was completely unacceptable. My elderly Dad was very tired, not feeling well, and needed to get into our room in a timely manner. Between the phone calls the staff member took, I should have offered to just pay the ~$20 difference that the guest in front of me was disputing, if we could just get into our room sooner, LOL!
Clean, really nice rooms, good breakfast, excellent, professional staff, I would highly recommend this hotel. Price was good. Great location to do day trips to the Multnomah Falls area. I wish all hotels had a staff like this one.
Made a reservation 2 months in advance for a 5 day stay.... Told us we had to move rooms after first night due to reservations errors. Many other BW in area... don't stay here. GM rude, un apologetic. Property under renovations. Front desk was busy looking up tutorial on computer on how to repair toilet issues for guest. Only 1 employee to check in on a Saturday night. Also had to wait while 2 previous guests returned because their access keys did not work.
Located directly on RT. 26, the "Mt. Hood Highway", has very convenient access to all the facilities at Mt. Hood and other sites nearby. Restaurants, food markets, gas stations and numerous other travel conveniences located in town of Sandy.
Very nice motel. Either a smaller one in the chain or older because there was no elevator. Not a deal breaker but we are an older group and elevators are a great convenience. Great fitness room. Breakfast good. Staff was friendly and professional. Would stay there again.
Room was fine, view of roof was sad and pathetic. 24 hr pool was exciting for our teen, but environment was dull, pool & hot tub were merky. Staff was nearly non existent, hid out in office or wherever. Made you feel the place was unattended. Breakfast was another sad experience. For the price of $170 per night I expect so much more than just a meager bed space. If you need a place to crash, go ahead but don't expect anything impressive.
the room was okay. We had a queen bed and since we are used to a king it seemed too small. There are plenty of restaurants near by and a Safeway right next door. We did not have the breakfast as we had to be somewhere before breakfast. My biggest complaint would be that there was never anyone available at the front desk.
Staff were professional, friendly, & helpful. Clean & quiet, room was a bit dated (carpet was worn) but otherwise pleasant. Pool & hot tub well maintained. Breakfast is a little slim on choices for someone with celiac but was nicely prepared & presented. Staff are familiar with the city and can provide restaurant suggestions.
Our check in went great - stay was good - breakfast needs some work - more - & - better quality and the people tending the breakfast were not very attentive. Our room was fine - bed good. Pool looked nice we did not have time for it but all of it looked good.
The beds were clean and comfortable. The buffet-style breakfast was good. My friends and I liked that the sink was outside the bathroom. The free WIFI and cable TV were nice. The hotel's location was very good, not too far of a drive from Mount Hood.
Terrific location, friendly staff and clean rooms. Best hotel breakfast I can ever remember. Cold stuff was cold, hot stuff was hot and remarkably the woman running breakfast kept up. Best Western is fast becoming my 'go to' place to stay.
Other than a poor vacuuming job the room was very nice. Room was comfortably large enough, acceptably clean, not noisy. Staff was friendly & very helpful. Breakfast was adequate & tasty. We always stay here when visiting our son & family. This is nothing deluxe but comfortable for a night or 2 or even more.
You have to be very visually sharp to discern the location of this place from the highway since it is tucked away in sort of a strip mall area. That was the hardest aspect of this place but it certainly is quite a charming little residence. Rooms tend to be large and price is right. Another good thing is the availaility of a Safeway store almost next door. To the back there is a school athletic field which was scenic but quiet at night. All in all a nice stay.
Couldn't ask for a more convenient location! Everything you could possibly need is close at hand. The beds are a little soft for my taste but the rooms are clean and quiet. The front desk staff are always extremely helpful and friendly.
Stayed at the hotel for my sisters wedding convenient location even though under renovation in lobby the staff was great and friendly the buffet was great large selection and good shopping next door will stay again
Not worth the money as it seemed I was staying at a Motel 6 or Super 8. No parking! I parked for 2 days across the way at the McDonald's lot. The breakfast though it was free was boring stale, and not fresh as if it was brought out from past weeks. The beds leave you waking up with a stiff back. I question the cleanliness of the couches as the cushions were not comfortable, stiff, and seemed crusty. There are no elevators! Unfortunately that meant lugging of a lot of heavy bags up stairs for the family and I. Smelled musty in the halls and at front desk. Only good thing is the staff was awesome at their job and wasn't far from downtown Sandy.
I have attended four family reunions in Sandy, Oregon over the years and have learned the Sandy Inn is the best place to stay. It's clean and centrally located for family events and will be at the Sandy Inn again as future events are likely to take place.
The staff at the Sandy Inn were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was always well stocked and the young man at the front desk has amazing customer service. The cleaning staff worked very hard to keep the rooms clean for guests. Definitely happy with our stay there and would love to stay again!
Overall stay was decent. Remodel was occuring so still unfinished. Rooms were dated and could use updating. Overall service was good though. Used the hot tub but jets didn't really work, but was perfect because I had it to myself.
During a friend's wedding weekend, I stayed at the Sandy Inn. I was so impressed with the room's appointments, spaciousness, and cleanliness. The staff here (especially Taylor and Alexis) were friendly and helpful. I slept so very well in my spotlessly clean room that I didn't venture out on one of the days during which I visited (it was mid-road trip and I was TIRED!). I randomly selected this hotel from the Internet and I could not have been more pleased...it's a hidden gem. They are currently in the middle of lobby renovations, but that did not decrease my satisfaction with the hotel or cause a disturbance during my stay. I asked the employees for a lot of directions and suggestions for food and sundries and each employee I asked was so conscientious and gracious in replying. I travel quite a bit and have stayed in hotels that were a lot newer and flashier; however, the Sandy Inn now ranks as one of my top five favorite hotels I have stayed in. Kudos to the staff and management!
Staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and nice. Location is good and Sandy has everything you need. Wireless internet is fast and easy to set up. Very short walk to numerous fast type food establishments. Grocery store next door with alchhol (if the mood should strike).
Needed a clean safe place to stay while traveling from Portland to Terrebonne, Or. arriving late at night was able to get one of the last 2 rooms available so yes, had to pay a premium price but turned out to be a fair price. Clean room, nice breakfast area and friendly staff made the price exceptable.
I was a little concerned when I pulled up but the staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and quiet. I slept comfortable in the bed. It's a small hotel so you're not going to get all the amenities but after a long flight into Portland, this was a perfect place to stay before we continued on to Bend.
Convenient location made a great 2 day basecamp near a geocaching event in the MT.Hood National Forest, good breakfast, we would stay here again. Found some great places to eat dinner near by like the Tollgate Inn and Red Shed Public House.
The staff was not just helpful but were genuinely ready and willing to assist in any way possible. As a Navy Veteran I know clean and the room was immaculate and well furnished with refer, coffee, internet, WiFi, and Dish television. Breakfast was much more than a donut and a cup of coffee and well portioned. I felt like an Honored Guest - one would expect to pay much more.
The hotel was clean and staff was awesome and friendly! Destiny in the breakfast room was amazing! She cooked, cleaned and socialized with all the guest... Really hard worker! Enjoyed her! The hotel is very conveniently located in the same parking lot as Safeway, MacDonalds, Del Taco... Very dog friendly. The cleaning staff was great, always there with a hello and a smile
While this hotel is a typical Best Western in style and amenities, the people working there make it a wonderful place to stay. From the moment you check in, there is a friendly face (Collin) helping people out. The location is great as there is a Safeway and other food options within walking distance. They do have free wifi and free breakfast too. Destiny, who does the breakfast, is extremely helpful and kind. So if you must stay in Sandy, then this is a great option.
Feels like home.......The staff overall went above and beyond during my stay. Rooms were always clean and really enjoyed the personality of the housekeeper. Taylor at the front desk is definitely a rising star!
We enjoyed the Hotel-We had a very clean room-Teresa was our housekeeper-it was spotless-In fact I was so impressed I wanted to mention her in this review-We hope the management thanks her-Kudos to her work! We are very particular when we travel-Cleanliness is our number #1 priority-The hotel is quiet and has a real nice staff! We will stay again on our next trip to the area-
Everything about my stay was perfect. The room was exceptionally clean and staff cleaned it every day. The check-in and check-out was very quick and staff was courteous and helpful. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning. They had everything you could want for breakfast. I definitely will stay here again next time I visit.
We only stayed one night, but if I am in the area again I would stay there. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast had good options and the person working in the the breakfast room kept the food replenished.
This is a very nice hotel with clean rooms, pretty amazing breakfast buffet, awesome pool, nice staff. Easy checkin/out process, even while toting around my two dogs, and child. Pet friendly while being very clean which is hard to fine. Will stay again!
We stay at the Best Western Sandy Inn, when we come to visit our kids and grandson's. This place is always clean and friendly. We try to take the kids to the swimming pool, but didn't have enough time. this trip.
I was prepared to rate this place higher prior to checkout. The place is a little dated but very clean and we'll maintained. I like the fact rooms are only accessible from the inside lobby or locked side door. Friendly front desk upon checkin. Breakfast buffet is OK except for eggs which look and taste pre-made and possibly reheated on site. But it's free and has yogurt, fresh fruit, hot and cold cereal, pastries, bagels, and waffles. Checkout at 5 am but no front desk staff anywhere. I prepaid so it was OK but still would have liked a receipt. Housekeeping staff was sitting outside smoking in violation of their own posted signs stating no smoking or vapeing within 90 feet of building. But dang, when you have an early flight and the coffee is cold that's what brings the rating down for me.
Although hidden off the road with its new logo it is more than worth the effort to find. Room was clean and beds were a dream. The location near Mt Hood was a significant convenience. Manager and staff went out of their way to assist, much to our previously-uninformed delight.
We had a very nice room. The breakfast was very good. I am sold on Best Western. My step son lives in Sandy. This was the first time that we have gone to see him. He lives close to the hotel. It was very nice to have a great room so close to his home. We will stay at this hotel again and again.
Nice rooms, very quiet. We had a king size bed and it was very comfortable. The window had 2 different curtains you could draw closed, one was a privacy and the other was a blackout. The blackout made it nice and kept the morning sun out. They served HOT breakfast. Eggs, bacon, potatoes plus other cold food selections and fruit. The pool and spa was available 24 hours a day which also was wonderful. Nothing like a midnight dip in the jacuzzi. The staff always had a smile and were very polite and helpful.
The Sandy Inn is a great place to stay while in the Sandy area. The hotel is very well maintained throughout. The staff is friendly and with personal and fast service. I will definitely be returning when my travels take me to the area again.
We called late and the gal at the desk did a good job. She answered all of my questions, told me that there was a room and made initial arrangements. The room was clean, well maintained and there was a comfortable bed. The next morning we had a good breakfast and continued our trip home!
1.amazed at the friendly staff. When checking in the attendant was super friendly. 2. Amazing breakfast. You will need to diet after a few days of eating the free morning breakfast. Fresh and delicious. 3. For being the only hotel in Sandy the rooms and building are clean and in great condition. Dont forget to use the hot tub. 4. The housekeeping is friendly, professional and your room is immaculate when cleaned. You will not regret staying here!!
Definitely a place i will stay at again!!! Even though i was only at that hotel for a night it was still better then every hotel i have ever stayed at. Excited to see the new work out room they are building
Excellent location since we were visiting relatives in Gresham. Sits back a bit off hwy so it seemed pretty quiet. Nice rooms, pool & hot tub. Everything very clean. Awesome free breakfast & staff very accommodating. Would definitely stay there again
This is a very nice hotel. We chose it because it is near Portland, but out of the city chaos. Sandy is a nice little town and we really like it. If you need an elevator, be advised that this hotel does not have one. You might ask for a ground floor room instead. The rooms we have had are very clean and the bed is comfortable. I had a little problem with the TV remote, but that might just be me. This particular visit they were doing some remodeling, but it wasn't a problem at all. In face, the only noticeable difference was that the lobby furniture was not there. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known that any work was being done.
I had the best time visiting my family in Sandy Oregon over the weekend and I have the staff at Best Western to thank for that. The manager actually cared and was attentive to my needs (I'm handicap). I don't like to travel much due to my disability, I can say I will come back to this Hotel again. I'm very pleased with my whole trip.
And I mean Hidden! It was tucked behind a McDonalds and KFC. But it was a well-maintained property inside and out. Room was clean, breakfast was good, and the front desk staff was courteous and helped us through some travel woes we were having.
Spent 3 night here. Had to have key re-keyed each night. Front desk person didn't know how to do for more days. Had room on top floor, it was fine, very typical room. Family had room on first floor (124) and toilet leaked for the whole 3 days. Complained, but NOTHING was done. Finally just piled towels around toilet. Didn't want to move, had everything unpacked. $100 dollars a night for this? There is no elevator at this hotel, so if you don't want to climb stairs, or if you have strollers, etc., make sure you tell them that. Breakfast in AM was good, very typical of this chain. Just average hotel. Only thing good about this hotel is the location.
Reliable choice if you are staying in Sandy. Definitely not worth staying in Gresham as the BW Sandy is better than similar choices in Gresham. The "eggs" for breakfast are some of the worst I have seen at the BW chain, otherwise breakfast is normal.
Excellent staff, housekeeper leaving notes in case I need anything extra in my room, receptionist calling me to make sure I am happy with my room, very clean, best value hotel in the area for sure, and right next to shopping center with Safeway next door
I very much enjoyed my visit. It is a very comfortable place. The people are very helpful and the rooms are very clean. We had a good breakfast. It is a very quiet place. The internet is fast. I had no problems getting on. I will stray there again.
The only hotel in Sandy was quite OK. Don't remember much about it. So, it must have been an average, no surprise experience. The hot tub was nice though. And now when I think it was a peaceful place and friendly staff.
They do not tell you when you check in that they allow pets, so, if you're allergic to what pets leave behind, strike 1. I woke up with a sore shoulder from the bed and my husband woke up with a headache from the ridiculous thing they pretend is a pillow, strike 2. Your choice for breakfast is sugar, carbs and cardboard eggs. Even the yogurt is sugar loaded, so, that's strike 3. All that for a total of $129.07 with taxes.
We stayed here because we had business in Sandy. It was the only hotel in town. They allow dogs for an extra $20. A moderate fee. The dog-friendly room was in excellent condition. Very clean and well-maintained. Only thing I would request at a future stay is that they go easy on the deodorizer. It was too much for my nose.
other than the bed was a little soft for my liking, this hotel was excellent! the front desk clerk went out of his way to see that the cleaning staff got to my room right after the previous customer checked out so i could check in early and get cleaned up for a wedding i was supposed to be in that afternoon. i wish i remembered his name so he could get proper recognition for excellent customer service! the breakfast was what you'd expect but it was all very tasty.
Jen is a great employee! She helped us upon arrival and worked with us when we had issues with our equipment arriving late. She baked cookies and was just all around very welcoming. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay close to Mt. Hood.
Great accomadations. Very helpful staff. Front desk people were really friendly even though they were busy. Only stayed one night. Buffet breakfast was very good . Coffee was available all day. Water also
The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good...These are the top three things we look for in a hotel. Also, the staff was helpful in directing us to our destination. This is where we stay whenever we are in the area.
We visit our daughter in Sandy, Or. This is the only hotel in Sandy so we use it all the time. The value, convenience We are a good choice for us and others that want to spend their money on entertainment rather than a place to sleep.
Good breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. I've stayed before for both business and pleasure. I appreciate that the pool is open 24hrs a day. Close to shopping and far enough off the highway to be quiet and peaceful. I'll be back.
Friendly staff with clean rooms. Beds are comfortable. Nice hot breakfast. Indoor pool and conveniently located. Good value for your money. I highly recommend this Best Western hotel. The only suggestion I would make is to have a bigger work out room since the current workout room is a tiny space next to the swimming pool.
I called when making reservation and asked about parking a truck & car hauler. I was told "no problem." When I arrived I discovered this was not the case. I had to take up 6 spots & hope I didn't get blocked in.
This is one of the first times that I stayed multiple nights in a hotel on business where every day after returning from work, the room was completely stocked and the overall appearance was just like I barely checked in. At other hotels, the room cleaning staff tend to get lazy and do a half Bleep job.
I would highly recommend the Best Western Sandy for your stay at the gateway to Mt. Hood! The staff is truly exceptional - well-trained, compassionate and caring. The property is very quiet and comfortable, the breakfast inviting, and the pool and hot tub a wonderful feature for recovering from activities on the mountain!
Been here twice. Close to Guide Dogs for the Blind were we have gone for graduations and puppy fun day. Close to a grocery store and several restaurants. Sandy is a fun little town to explore. The hotel is clean and everything worked. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Kids used the pool. There is a high school near by where I did a morning run. There has been some updating since our first trip, but I general a nice basic hotel.
Average hotel. Carpet was old & musty with a slight odor. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Convenient location. Low quality cable/t.v.. Not recommended for long stay. Price is average for the quality of room and services provided.
Requested ADA compliant room at booking.Need to speak with a human in order to assure your requests are met. Difficult stay for wheelchair bound guest. Staff very willing to help with requests but unable to fulfill without the right equipment.
The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Staff was nice. Good area not sketchy feeling. I would defiantly go back. There were a lot of places to eat in the area. Also you could do some shopping.
My friends and I ran into car trouble on a road trip and ended up needing to stay over last minute IN Sandy. The customer service is excellent at this hotel. They have a pool and hot breakfast which was a bonus.
Was able to reserve last minute and got the last room left. Stayed for two nights. The folks were cheerful and pleasant and the room was very nice. The breakfast was ok but not as good as most Best westerns I have stayed in. The downside was the TV system was so complex not even the people at the desk could make it work right.
We stay at the Sandy Inn when visiting kids and grandkids. It never disappoints. Clean, friendly, helpful, and warm atmosphere. Beds are great, always clean room and bath, staff is excellent and been there a long time. Breakfast is good, pool is fun for the grandkids, very quiet. This time we should have stayed closer to where we were spending most of our time but we chose the Sandy Inn and drove farther cause we like it so much.
this was the last night of our trip, was best tv we had. Room very comfortable. Breakfast was basic, but good. We used the pool and hot tub, both very nice. Location is center of town which is nice. I would recommend a stay here
Excellent! Rooms were clean and comfortable! Staff was cordial and very helpful! Breakfast items were tasty and easily transportable to table or room. Will definitely use this hotel for our next stay. Pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. Loved the stay!
My husband and I are staying here for a total of 9 days, as we moved out of one house and just waiting to move into our next home. The manager and her staff have made sure that we have everything we need to be comfortable. Quality towels in the room, quality bedding, comfortable bed, etc. The place is very quiet and very clean. We felt at home here during that stay. I am just so impressed!
Very nice hotel clean and fresh, We will be staying there again when we visit our family. The area has so much to see and do, you can rest assured your stay will be a great one. The breakfast was amazing, very clean
Pleased with our stay all around. Clean and comfortable room. Nice amenities. Good location. My family enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast got us started on the right track. Beds were super comfy. Will do again.
A very accommodating place, off the busy path and close to other amenities as well. We would come back to this location if ever in the area again. Sandy is a quaint little town that has much to offer its residents and visitors
Great hotel in a bizarre location. Exactly what you would expect from a good Best Western hotel. Staff were super friendly and the hotel is clean with loads of parking. Really handy (?) location surrounded by a Safeway and McDonalds. Great if you have kids with you. No elevator though.
The room was clean and maintained clean everyday during our stay. The location was just perfect distance to the sites we visited during our stay. Our itinerary was to drive thru Historic Columbia Highway (30min drive) and see Mt Hood(40min drive). Breakfast was good, the lady in charge of the kitchen always checked what food needs replenishment. The only hotel where the pool opens 24 hrs. The kids would like to mention it because in other hotel it closes by 9 or 10pm, which they hated most. So for the kids, its 5 stars for them.
got to hotel reservation was not correct. didnt seem to care or want to help with problem. did not offer a discount until i asked. when they did they did not charge us for roll-a-way so a whopping 10.00 off of a $198.00 per night stay.
This was one of the best experiences I had staying in a hotel. The staff was super friendly and very informative. Just what you would expect when paying for a hotel room. It is easy to get to. The room was clean and the beds comfortable.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were cleaned excellently and the hot buffet breakfast was an added bonus. We stayed for 9 nights and it was an excellent position to stay and see all the sights. Laundry facilities were also here so another bonus. Would recommend to stay.
We were looking for a place to stay so we could do some hiking in the area. There aren't a lot of choices unless you want to stay in Graham or head closer towards Mount Hood. Lodging near Mount Hood was expensive and Gresham was too far away (especially since we wanted to get an early start to avoid some of the late afternoon heat). The Best Western in Sandy fit the bill perfectly. Our room was very clean, it was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Our only criticism is the included breakfast. The eggs were rubbery (they just microwave egg liquid in a pouch and that makes them soggy and rubbery). The sausage was undercooked (actually they just preheat previously partially cooked sausage that looks gray not browned). The orange juice "drink?" had an off flavor. And the biscuits were stale and the "gravy" was watery. As you can tell, I tried a lot of different options trying to find something palatable. I would just skip breakfast here. There are better restaurants nearby. Too bad you can't get a reduced room rate by skipping breakfast. It galls me to have the breakfast cost rolled into the room rate when they provide such unpalatable fare. We would certainly stay here again, but next time I'm going to try and get a reduced rate if we skip breakfast.
We booked at the last minute and accommodated very well. We had pets with us so received a first floor room near the exit to the pet walk. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was fantastic and pool welcoming. Thanks for the great stay!
The only drawback to this property is no elevator. This rest is great! Sandy is a very nice town with good places to eat, friendly people and great scenery. One of our most favorite places on our month long trip.
The room was clean and beds were comfortable. We were on the back side of motel, away from the highway and it was quiet. The only thing we didn't like was the fitness room-- very hot and next to the pool so it smelled like chlorine. In spite of that we would stay there again.
Would not recommend. Over priced for area. No elevators. Help could care less about elderly over 70 having to lug up luggage with steep stairs. Toilet plugged, called front desk they said they will send up someone right away. They never showed up and had to use the public restrooms in lobby.
Standard room with 2 Queen beds. Immaculately clean. Staff friendly & helpful. Arrived too late to feel like utilizing the pool & hot tub but both looked very inviting. Best scrambled eggs I've eaten at any similar establishment. Would definitely book again, but would call the hotel directly rather than book through Expedia...would have been cheaper.
Stayed 6/9/2016 checked out 6/10. Everything was clean and adequate as expected. Breakfast was ok and their are plenty of choices in town. The only problem was I assumed this newer property would have an elevator. There was no elevator and there were no ground floor rooms available. Lugging bags up two flights of stairs was not fun - staff did offer to help but I declined. I would stay here again but I would request a first floor room.
A very clean, comfortable property with the bonus of small fitness room, indoor pool and jacuzzi. A hot breakfast with a nice selection, pillow variety, good linens and a quiet stay. An annual visit here; I know what to expect and they deliver.
Lovely hotel, great indoor hot tub and pool, lovely room with comfortable bed, pet friendly and truly so, gave us a nice room 1st floor near a grass area. Outsideand in shows the owners truly care about this place and the staff were all very friendly, efficient and fun to talk with. Great motel in a cute town!
Great place. Breakfast is mainly carbs and the beds weren't great for my back but overall great value and location for Mnt Hood activities. Staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. Indoor Pool was a great bonus for our kids and tough to find as most hotels in the area only offer outdoor pools.
Stayed for 4 nights for a business trip. Good price and what you'd expect of Best Western. No elevator so you'll have to carry your bags up if your room is on the second floor. If you can, get a north facing room because they are much quieter as they face nature rather than the parking lot. The room itself was a little outdated, but overall was clean and comfortable so I had no problems with it.
The first impression of this hotel was very favorable as the person that helped me was extremely friendly. The room itself was nice and had everything needed. The only complaint I have is that the price was a wee bit higher than would be expected for the location in my experience. Other than that I'd give it a thumbs up.
When traveling, I don't want to pay a fortune, but I do want a clean and comfortable place to stay. I have found that Best Western Plus motels do just that. Very inexpensive, nice and comfortable places to stay as well as extra amenities and cheerful people who go the extra mile to accommodate my pet.
We arrived here on Thursday May 5th for my niece Kaily's wedding on Saturday the 7th. This hotel has very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and very nice, clean rooms. Bed was very comfy. Will definitely stay here again.
The property is clean! I will give it that - the room was comfortable and clean. When I asked for extra towels - I had to give them my room number so they could keep track of the towels. Trust me - the towels were not worth taking! The staff was nice, but we did have to dial zero on the phone to have someone come check us in. I would stay there again - there's not much choice in Sandy, OR!
The Sandy Inn in is an excellent relaxing stay every time. I recommend it for all travelers. The location is so convenient to both dining and a full grocery store and of course Mt. Hood, offering plenty of snow sports in the winter and gorgeous hiking and camping in the summer.
Everything was fantastic. Food, bed, price, cleanliness. Front desk people were very friendly and accommodating. For being pet friendly though, they don't allow dogs on the beds and have white bed covers.
I always stay here while visiting my family and the hotel always meets my expectations. They have added to their breakfast making it even better and my Grandchildren love their pool. You can tell the staff is very proud of their hotel.
The room was extremely small and overcrowded with furniture. You could hardly move around the room without tripping on something. It appears that the stair area rooms are about 6 feet by 10 feet smaller than all of the other rooms. The bed was the worst of any room on our vacation. The the bathing suit hang up in the shower was broken. The noise from the trucks on the highway was heard during the night. This is a motel that we will skip next time.
I stayed here one night for business, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this hotel off the highway. In the end, I was quite pleasantly surprised. My room was basic, but very clean. The bed was comfortable. While some other guests had young children that were being noisy, when I called the front desk, they quieted down within 10 minutes, and they didn't make a peep the rest of the evening or the next morning. All in all, I slept well and woke up refreshed. This hotel fit the bill for a clean, safe, and quiet place to get a good night's sleep. On a work trip, that's all I expect.
This was a very nice and convenient hotel. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was very good. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi are open 24 hours although the Jacuzzi doesn't work very well. If you have pets please ask in advance about pet fees as it wasn't obvious to me. If you do not need to be in Sandy or close to the mountain then Gresham and Troutdale likely have better values (ie less $$).
We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and will return. Love Best Western Hotels as we are always satisfied with the price, location, comfort and cleanliness. This one was exceptional. The Room was comfortable and the breakfast was exceptional.
Loved the shower. I have traveled across the country 2x this year and I had the best shower ever at this motel. Bed was comfortable. Downside is it is only near fast food restaurants. A Safeway is next door if needed. I also think they had above average breakfast choices.
We had a great time visiting home. The evening staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The kids spent hours in the pool and enjoyed the fresh baked cookies and the breakfast. We will definitely stay again.
We very much enjoyed our stay here in Sandy, OR. The hotel was a little dated, but well cleaned with an extremely pleasant and helpful staff. The staff was most responsive to our needs and promptly helped us when asked. The hotel was centrally located situated perfectly for our stay in Sandy. It was easy to get to and close to everything we wanted to do while staying in Sandy.
We were attending an event in nearby Boring and needed a place to stay. BW has been a generally reliable choice and this moved the bar up. The desk staff, "Taylor" was pleasant, courteous, helpful and efficient. It was nice to hear him read our "special requests" (away from the elevator, ice machine and trash) and was assured that our room would meet them and was also in the back on the "woodsy" side. The room was non-smoking, clean and when we got back from our event, slept like logs. BW seems to have instituted a full-on breakfast, including eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, make-your-own waffles, etc. and it is excellent. This property raises the bar to the other BWs. Highly recommended. And if back in the area, will stay again.
Woke up in the middle of the night cold and uncomfortable in my room. I went to the front desk to ask for an extra blanket and was told no and then asked if I didn't understand how to use the heater. Very disappointing. I was uncomfortable the rest of the night. We had stopped on our way back to Bend because we were tired and I ended up more tired when I woke up in the morning. Not a place I would stay again.
My stay at Best Western Sandy Inn, Sandy, OR this past week was very pleasant. Staff at the hotel were very professional and kind. I enjoyed having a good hot breakfast any time between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. They have a good fitness room, and a beautiful pool. Best Western Sandy Inn is an ideal place to stay for enjoying the town of Sandy and surrounding areas such as natural sites, fishing, hiking and or Skiing at Mt. Hood. Close to Gresham and Portland.
Although this is a bit older property, it's very comfortable and the rooms are super clean. While the whirlpool tub is not the newest, it is actually the best as it's larger and much deeper than newer tubs. I hope they don't change those! Property has 3 fast food areas within steps and a large grocery with a deli.
This was our first time in this area and we were concerned with weather and transportaion to our destination. The manager was so helpful over the phone before we even booked. We had a nice room, great staff, good breakfast, close to good restaurants and anything we needed. Caught the shuttle in Sandy that took us up to Timberline for our sons wedding. No stress by driving in the snow. Great trip!
Very friendly and helpful and clean and hospitality and nice I strongly recommend to everyone my wife and I enjoyed our stayed for sure next time if we're coming back in town we're definitely will stay at this Best Western again
The only big hotel in Sandy- this worked well for our family. Pool was nice for the kids. Rooms were basic. It is located right next to a Safeway, which was great for grabbing snacks. Nothing fancy or memorable, but fine for a night near the mountain.
The staff was terrific, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the availability of the pool and spa hours. Great breakfast with a good variety. The location in Sandy Oregon was ideal for us..
Quiet, clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Good coffee and full breakfast. My husband especially enjoyed the hash brown potatoes with gravy. Pool and hot tub also very clean. I would definitely stay here again.
Just about everything about our stay exceeded our expectations of this little Best Western - would definitely go back! From the patient and courteous Jen who took our group reservation, to Taylor at the front desk who quickly and efficiently checked us in, the staff was great. The breakfast choices were plentiful, the dining room clean and roomy. The wifi worked great, and checkout was a breeze. Hot tub very welcome after a day in the snow! Our only (sort of) negative was our room smelled like a long, long time ago was smoked in, and couldn't quite get erased with cleaning, but it wasn't bad. (We had 3 rooms, and the other two were fine.) We would still go back!
Our stay was great. Hotel staff were friendly during check in/out. Our room was clean and a great size. The breakfast options were varied and delicious. Next time we hope to have enough time to enjoy the pool. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Manager was awesome, rooms were clean. Please see prior comment. We were very happy. Kids were happy. Pool was super awesome. Can't say enough how friendly and accommodating the manager was. We were very pleased .
excellent stay arrived staff was very courteous, pool and spa was great, room was clean and had all the stuff needed, could of had more towels in the room, bed was comfy breakfast was good but there was not enough food made for the amount of people that stayed and there was only one hotel worker that was making the food, but otherwise was great. location was good close to the mountain which we liked and saved money compared to other places around
Fun friendly and convenient for all your vacation needs up near the mountain. Mt. Hood express running up to Timberline Lodge from Sandy in case you don't want to drive from Dec. 1st until march 31st is very convenient and only two dollars each way.
If you are expecting a pool or hot tub, better confirm its functional before booking and paying their rate! Do not eat the instant scrambled eggs. Staff mostly are courteous and respectful, but not sure that owners are willing to continue investing in this hotel to maintain the quality of the amenities that are expected by the customers.
I couldn't have been any more pleased if I'd tried. I called to make reservations at the 11th hour during Christmas week, fully expecting to hear a negative response. Instead, the General Manager of the property personally handled my request, coming up with a very satisfactory solution and a most enjoyable stay at this property for 5 nights. Thank you, Best Western Sandy Inn - I will definitely be back to stay with you again!!
I came with my band FunkTownPDX to perform at the Red Shed Restaurant on New Year's Eve and decided to stay overnight in Sandy. I was very pleased with the service of staff. Bobbie was especially helpful even before I arrived and though my friends had a few issues with their room, staff moved to take care of thing quickly. I definitely plan on staying again in the near future
The room was average - clean, but seems a little higher priced than I would have thought. Very nice breakfast, although one day the woman in charge didn't keep up well with the demand. Really nice to have the pool open around the clock. Also, there is no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs, be sure to ask for a 1st floor room.
The Hotel was average, the staff was nice and caring except the price was quite high in comparison to the quality in my opinion. The rooms weren't the best Iv'e ever seen, they were poorly decored, I was thankful they at least had a plasma TV but even then the TV was a bit blurry. They had free movie rentals which I thought was cool.
Stayed for a single night and would not go back. Nothing dramatically wrong but just not quite up to it. No lift to start with, room key would not work, missed breakfast because it finished at 9.30 and the door security lock was missing a screw and hanging off. Room was Ok, everything worked, Wi-Fi OK, parking no problem.
This hotel went above and beyond ,which made our stay a great one. I would recommend booking early , as they fill up fast. We had to stay at another hotel which was not as clean as the Sandy. Hope to get back soon on another vacation.
We stayed here after a long drive , and were greeted by Taylor at the front desk, he was helpful, professional and super upbeat that made the long trip better. Thanks Taylor!! We would stay here again if we hit the pass during the winter!
Wasnt expecting much when we booked this small town hotel as a place to stay after a day at Mt. Hood. It was nice and cozy and the front desk manager Taylor was delightful and very helpful. They also have a complimentary warm breakfast that was nice. My daughter really enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
We were pleasantly surprised, and slept great on the beds so comfy! The rooms were clean and the breakfast was better than any other I've stayed at for the price. Can't beat fresh waffles and eggs. I would recommend this place to anyone
Second time staying here. Clean rooms and friendly staff. It was quiet throughout the hotel. Close enough for mountain activities and not all that far to Portland. The breakfast was ok for a little more than continental style. Ok for the money.
My husband and I returned to Eagle Creek where we live after a harrowing hour and half drive from Beaverton in treacherous conditions after my husband's evening show. We got to the only road into the community, Starr Road, where we live around 1:00 a.m. to find a huge fir down and power lines down. Called 911, fire crews put up yellow tape and told us we could not go home. We waited for a while. Nearest motel was 20 minutes away in Sandy, the Best Western. I was sobbing, we had a puppy with us, our cat at home, no supplies, clothes, anything. Begged for a discount on the room. Would not give us a break citing corporate policy even though the young man behind the desk did call Estacada Fire and Rescue and got confirmation that the road to where we lived was blocked and closed. We had to pay $104 before taxes for the room which we checked into around 2:30 pm. To add insult to injury, the young man asked me if I wanted help with my luggage which just totally broke me down. What luggage?? I just saw on the news that U-Haul is providing free storage units for flood victims of this storm. Where is your community spirit Best Western to help a local family who could not get to their home because of the storm?????
I don't really want to say anything. The staff are great, the rooms are clean, the pool and spa are nice. I just don't know if there was real competition in Sandy that the prices would be so high. But then I always am shocked by how prices are going up.
We were on our way to Bend, and stopped here to rest and let the girls unwind. Bobbi at the front desk was so amazing and helpful. Not just to us but also for 3 girls under 10;) She pointed out the free rentals and some how amazingly was able to help them all select one move they could all agree on and they the girls commented on how nice she was;) The hot tub was awesome, the rooms were clean.
We were heading to bend from Seattle and wanted to split the trip up. I could not have picked a better place. It was clean, quiet, the staff was really nice and they even had a warm breakfast. We were also traveling with our dog and appreciated they had rooms that were pet friendly but don't think for a minute you could even tell it was a pet friendly room! It was so clean I'd never had known other dogs had been there.
Room was stuffy, traces of dust. Busy parking lot...Safeway, KFC, and highway noise. Parking lot lights could not be blocked with curtains. This was a sleep and run stay. Not likely at all to return!!
We took a two night trip to John Day Fossil Beds in Oregon and stayed at the best western in John Day. It was having renovations done, the bed was mushy, and it was almost too full with hunters. The Sandy Inn was our second night stay and we enjoyed the location, the service received, and the bed was comfortable. we will do our best to stay at this location again.
We were close to what we needed in Sandy. it made it very convenient for us. We have been to Sandy in the past and would have stayed here at that time, but we did not look at motels in Sandy. I have the feeling that we will be back within a year and will stay here again.
The Manager was awful and rude. They think they are running a training camp with their abrupt rudeness. I would never recommend you to stay here. Go another 5 miles to Gresham Oregon to stay. You will have a much better experience.
Everything was great except that the hot tub was not functional when we were there. There was an over sized room that was used in the past as the resident managers living space and we were able to occupy that for slightly more than a regular room. That worked out well.
I have stayed here several times the last 3 years. The front desk is very helpful. Breakfast is okay not the best I have had at other Best Western properties. No elevator to 2nd floor but they do offer to help with your bags. Very quiet and very clean.
I would not select to stay here again. Food quality was unacceptable. Fitness Center was small, poorly lighted, poorly ventilated, and minimally equipped. The facility does not have an elevator. I experienced problems at check-in with the door lock. It took three return trips to the desk to resolve this. The second floor rooms are directly accessible from the roof...a very serious security issue. Rooms at the rear of the facility experience loud noise issues from a nearby venue even at late and early hours.
We have stayed here multiple times. Its always been quiet (unless your across from the ice machine) and the staff has always been pleasant. The breakfast is not good and they could improve it by using fresh ingredients but most hotels serve junk for breakfast anyway. Sandy, OR has a nice family diner that we go to in the mornings anyway. Overall the hotel is clean and well run.
This is a really nice option for a stay in Sandy. The hotel itself is really great, well taken care of, friendly and helpful staff, and the location is fantastic. It's also right next to a safeway for groceries, a few restaurants, and relatively close to downtown Sandy. The room was great; comfortable, quiet, very spacious, and had a separated bathroom and sink area. Our only complaint was that, although pet friendly, there was virtually nowhere to walk dogs. We had to take our dogs out to a small patch of grass near the highway which was the front area to a store (which they didn't look happy about).
Best Western is a great location for exploring the Mt Hood area The staff was very friendly and helpful Hotel had indoor pool which was great to relax after a day of hiking....Area is right in nature Quiet clean large rooms
Everything worked about just fine. We stayed only one night for a quick visit and we were satisfied with everything. The accommodations were just fine; the staff was pleasant; and the location was perfect.
These people will screw you over given a chance. Not helpful, no heart. I prepaid for my two nights stay at this hotel. On the day I was supposed to arrive at the hotel I had engine trouble in Roseburg, OR at about 11am and would not make it to the location but I would definitely be using the room the second prepaid night. I asked if there was anyway I could get a refund for that night or even move the prepaid evening to another night. I was told it was too late to cancel the room for that first night, it was against policy to change the reservation and I would be charged full price. As an independently owned business, they certainly do have the option to work with customers if they feel inclined. They chose not to. The desk person was not helpful or friendly. The next day on my way to Sandy I got a call from the manager at 2pm stating if I didn't call her by 6pm she was going to release my PREPAID room to be rented by someone else. I had already told the office that I would be there. The customer service is piss-poor. They pocketed my money for first night with no willingness to work with me in my time of trouble. It was definitely a roadside emergency, not simply that I had changed my plans. And then to threaten me the loss of my PREPAID room for the next night because they weren't sure I was going to be there. How were they unsure? I had already verified with them that I would be there. What were they worried about? The room was already paid for. They were working hard to see if they could get double paid for the room, again. BAD service. I will share my customer service experience with anyone who will listen. The food for breakfast was also awful. There aren't many other places to stay in Sandy (which could account for the abysmal customer service) but I will be more than happy to pay the price to stay at a more expensive place to not be treated so rudely.
We stayed at your hotel this last Sat. Evening and just wanted to let you know that Taylor who was manning the front counter when we arrived was a very gracious host! Not only did he deal very well with a difficult customer while we waited but still managed to great us with genuine sincerity. We truly appreciated his wonderful customer service! Thank you, Diane and Doug
I have stayed here many times - latest was this past week (Oct 2015). Hotel is beautiful, clean. I'm a road warrior, so depend upon working at my hotel, and most Best Westerns have desks & very comfy and ergonomic office chairs! This hotel surely does. Very comfy beds. Back off the road, so pretty quiet. Short walk to Safeway if you want to shop for snacks. Short walk to many different fast food places (KFC, McDonalds, Taco Bell). HOTEL IS NON-SMOKING. There is an elevator, indoor pool, indoor spa. Bobbie Wilburn, General Manager, is a fantastic person. She makes sure everyone's stay is as perfect as possible. All of her staff are excellent. The hotel is easy to find, a little west of the "downtown" area. I was up very late, and after midnight went out to my car, and when I came back my room key refused to work. The gentleman at front desk gave me new, but it didn't work either. So he re-programmed the lock, gave me a new key, and I was back in my room - all within 5 minutes. This hotel is unique in that each room has a DVD player, and there is a great selection of DVDs at the front desk for people to borrow. How nice is that? TV instructions are a bit complicated, but if you call front desk they can walk you through how to do everything, and are happy to come to your room to help too. This stay, the hot spa by pool was not working (under maintenance), and they informed me of this when I made my reservation. I felt my rate should have been a little less because of this, and can't be sure whether it was discounted or not. Seemed not. This is my GO-TO hotel when I am working in/around Sandy area.
I stayed at the Sandy for all of September 2015. The help were falling over themselves to be helpful. More than that; they were likeable. The manager, runs a tight ship and things are in tip top shape. Hot breakfast is gratis. The Sandy Inn is located maybe a hundred steps from a large Safeway such that you can purchase odds and ends and a quick bowl of hot soup with a barista made Starbucks. No complaints from me.
Just a first rate experience made better by the friendly, knowledgeable front desk staff. It was one of the best 'accessible' rooms I've ever stayed in, partly because of what wasn't there. You could actually reach everything! As for breakfast, lets try fresh hot oatmeal for the old folks!(and maybe some real salt and pepper shakers for tables? The packets create more waste than needed IMHO)
The facility and staff were very nice and the property was convenient.. I doubt this is normal here but when I arrived I was told my room would be ready in 20 minutes. Over an hour later I was still waiting. Room was clean when I finally got into it. I do however have an issue with the bathroom. It was very clean and neat until you looked up. All around the edges of the ceiling and through out the center was MOLD.. Gray fuzzy spots all over it...
