Sandtorgholmen Hotel, BW Signature Collection

I enjoyed our night here. The manager, Anita is very welcoming and accommodating. She switched our room twice because I changed my mind about staying in the historic house on the second floor. I did not want to carry our luggage up stairs for one night. We lucked out and had one of the apartments that faced the beach. If it wasn't for the heavy rains that night, perfect location at the right time of year to see the northern lights. There were several people gamping that came for that purchase. They also have a large barn/ mess hall where they serve breakfast snd dinner for an additional cost. I would not come here for the food but enjoyed the friendly service, location is about thirty minutes from the airport, and it was comfortable for the night. We had communication updates as well as a map provided to help visitors.

Only 25min drive from Evenes Airport and on the E10 ready for our Lofoten adventure. We opted to stay here twice, prior to flights, and are pleased we did. A character, historic hotel, it was just so interesting looking around. Surrounded by beautiful sea views, it was just lovely to go for a walk along the beach, with lots of pretty shells and clear turquoise water. Our vacation had definitely begun! Breakfast/lounge/bar area: it's gorgeous; in the orange building with wrap around windows and sea views, an outside deck for sunny days. There are a pile of cards/board games which a couple of families made use of. We just chilled with a beer, enjoying the views. A buffet home cooked dinner is served between 18:00 - 20:00, which we enjoyed. Breakfast buffet was very good! Plenty of hot/cold options including yogurt, fruit, scrambled eggs, salad, cold meats, cheeses, pancakes, pastries etc Our initial stay was in a standard double which had a gorgeous sea view and was bright, modern with new bathroom, based in the red buildings. This was my favourite room. No kettle provided in the room, but a shared coffee/tea station in the hall. Our next stay was in a Standard King upstairs in the orange building with a gorgeous sea view (you felt like you were right above the water). More character, definitely quaint and not much space to walk around the bed, but only for one night. Both rooms were super clean and beds comfortable for us. The staff are the best - so friendly and enthusiastic! They're young (or I'm old, haha) and seem to share a variety of tasks. Communication prior arrival was prompt and courteous. Absolutely the best value stay we had during our two weeks in beautiful Norway.

We booked this splended place for our first time holiday in Lofoten . We had a room with sea view ,which had a stunning landscape. Reception staff were very kind and we loved breakfast. Wealso had dinner everyday there, we were very satisfied with our stay. This Best Western hotel is located in a very beauty area, is sorrounded by water, green and calmness. We would definitely like to return next year.

Stay there for one night location was perfect view was perfect but we stayed in a small cabin. It looks like a little bit dirty but anyway interesting experiment.

Incredible hospitality, stunning location and an amazing property. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay here.

We only spent one night but spotless, friendly and full of character with great food and superb breakfast.

The location is perfect and there's a very nice view to the sea and the mountains. I booked two times the cottage while I visited my vacation, and it was awesome. It is the best choice to do if you are on the way to Lofoten !! You can swim 🏊‍♀️ at the private beach, it's my recommendation 🙌👌 The atmosphere was so good and quiet. It was for me so important ! We arrived late afternoon, and the room keys were in envelopes with the guest name written on it in a box just inside the entrance of the building. The buildings are traditional and pretty, but old..... We stayed in room 204 in the long wooden building by the water's edge ~ it's an old building, so floors creak a lot. Our room was average, nothing fancy and had a nice view overlooking the water. However, there seemed to be no basic maintenance (power outlets hanging out of the walls, bed lamp missing cords thus not working) It's a pity since the rooms have charm & character, if it is just maintained. Breakfast was pretty decent with a wide selection of food typical of European style. It is also served on the lower deck which is right on the water and if one is lucky some nice sunrise photos can be taken. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful.

This place is the highlight of my Lofoten trip. The hotel is Classic, preserving its old ambiance but with modern amenities. The sauna is a good addition. I am surprised that at such a remote place, they are able to find young and cheerful workers to take care of customers from all over the world. The staff is super friendly and the guests are very international; they are the best part of the experience.

Sandtorgholmen is a beautiful place to stay with several hundres of years of history. We were lucky to stay in the main house where both interior with furnitures and the exterior shows the upper class history of the former trading place. We would hope for a better menu for dinner next time.

Such a cute place, with a lot of history. We arrived late on a cold rainy day in June and it felt so cozy and warm. Having dinner there is definitely a must and part of the experience. It is very well-priced and includes a very 'homely' 3 course meal with water and coffee in a lovely little restaurant with views over the fjord.

So very disappointed we arrived late had been travelling since 4am quick check in then to dinner we had advised of our late arrival and booked dinner, it was basic tasty not sure what it was as nothing to say one of our party gluten intolerant, there was rice and salad bits so ok, quick drink after dinner then off to rooms, friends were in a cabin/shed on water front a junior suite also, we were in room 302 in main house supposedly a junior suite! They had to trudge through deep snow as no path cleared to door we were up steps and to the right to a separate couple of doors then our room not at all what we had expected tired so went straight to bed, no drink facilities no sockets near bed no luggage rack/drawers/wardrobe just an old sofa not sofa bed and a couple of bed stands no headboard no mat for wiping boots or rug just cold lino floor/cold apart from bathroom floor/wall panelling spilling apart don't think room had seen a paint brush for 10+years. On waking in the morning after a chilly night waking often no extra pillow or blankets available, warm bath needed 6.30am no plug for bath or basin so showered hair over bath and made do, at breakfast asked for different rooms, friend room smelt shower was mouldy and really cold in bathroom, bed was hard to get in and out of as like a cot bed, no sofa decor very tired, female on reception was very nice however said they were full and couldn't offer us other rooms, so said we'd arrange elsewhere and left her to speak the manager re a refund, we went to pack sort different accommodation came to check out, after speaking with her manager on the phone they could change our room by moving someone else I explained we'd already packed and booked/paid for elsewhere as she'd told me no joy earlier, then spoke to manager on phone he explained I should of got dressed and walked through the snow to the restaurant/reception at 10pm and 6.30am to get teas and coffee and plugs (even though staff said they wouldn't be open for breakfast until 7am) didn't get my point that the rooms should of had these items in place, I then asked about the other facilities on our confirmation which we hadn't had he explained the “suite” part for us was the other ground floor rooms in the house, these were open to all and not what I would say was a private suite, our friends had no other room so not sure what their “suite” was, eventually he agreed to refund our dinner as we'd had such a poor experience however refused to refund the 2nd night we'd booked even though we'd been told to get somewhere else as they couldn't re room us, he didnt accept responsibility for this, there was no reasoning even though I showed him our confirmation of what we should been staying in, so so disappointed as I'd been looking forward to staying here the most after seeing the pics and reading other reviews. We feel they'd given our rooms to others as thought we weren't coming then just given us the keys for rooms that had been closed all winter we went onto stay in the Scandic hotels in Svolvaer & Sortland which were exceptional just stunning couldn't find a fault. Just such a shame the owners/management at Sandtorgholem don't realise just what they have it could of been amazing, such a beautiful setting with so much potential.

Oh my Lordy , we have been on holiday for 5 weeks and this by far was the most beautiful place to stay . Staff were excellent and super friendly and helpful even offering to turn off the lights in the restaurant when the northern lights came over . We stayed in a beautiful old part of the hotel which was spectacular . Would definitely stay again . Dinner and breakfast were both beautiful and the manager the next morning went out of his way to give us some amazing travel tips for heading on . The best place we got to see the aurora
